Europark Vias Plage is a funfair that offers attractions for all ages, including a amusement park with rides such as a looping roller coaster. The employees are friendly and want to make sure you have a great time. Be sure to check their website in advance to see if any prices are lower than usual!
We had half price entry so 29€ for 2. Absolutely worth it. We were there from 12 until 21.
Big plus are the employees especially the lady in the 4D cinema and the man in the butterfly dance. Super friendly funny and trying to create a great experience.

I go here once or twice every year I go to France for the summer holidays and maybe the winter holidays. The rides and food here are some of the best, especially euroloop which is a more extreme ride. Best theme park I've ever gone to
Avenous Ravenous — Google review
Great Value
Good Selection Of Rides
Great How Slingshot is included as usually these are €15 a go on there own.
Only negative was the fact the droptowers were closed all day on our visit which was sad to see as we really wanted to ride them.
ThemeParkJaden — Google review
Excellent amusement park, good range adapted to every age. Food acceptable and nice and welcoming staff.

Quiet when we went so there was no queuing to get on things... Worth the money to get in and some of the rides are pretty good.
andy poole — Google review
This is a nice amusement park with some fun rides. The ticket you buy at the entrance gives you access to all rides and that is good. However, the park is full of other stuff that you need to pay for separately, such as the machines where you try to catch a prize and fail all the time. At some extent I find it normal, but this park has seriously too much of it.

Excellent! Go on their website to see whether the entire evening every price will be lower or not (Demi tarif). They’ve got delicious beignets

Plenty of rides for all ages, young and old. Places to eat as well. Quite a few fun fair stalls to win prizes. Rides ranged from €2 to €4.
John Long — Google review
I'm summer, 2€ per person to get in. Pay-as-you ride. Opens at 19:00 and closes at 2:00am. Look at all the dining options before you settle on one. Lots of options for drinks. Rides would appear pricey, but they last longer than they would in an American amusement park. Our kids 11, 13, 16 loved it.
Great experience and very good guiding by the team !

If you love adventure in your life this is a must! Frankie the coach and owner is simply the best, an absolute natural at what he does. Professional and keeps everyone safe and has loads of fun with everyone. He's flexible and adaptable to suit your situation if possible. He takes loads of pictures of us all and breathtaking scenery to download later. It was the best day of my holiday. Thanks SO much Frankie. I'm coming back next summer.

Les 9 Écluses de Fonseranes is a popular tourist destination that features a series of canal locks consisting of 9 flights. Visitors can witness the fascinating operation of the locks and enjoy stunning views of Beziers. The location also boasts an interactive cinema and restaurant at its visitor center. While there may be little shade, it offers an interesting experience for children with great toilets and a store available on site. A short walk away lies a water bridge, similar to those in photos.
Wonderful place to visit, kept very clean. You can picnic and there are boat rides and the little train comes too. Restaurant/bar at the top of the hill.
(7 of the 9 original locks remain functional).
Darren Chilton — Google review
Nice place, a lil hot 🔥 because there is no shade but it’s interesting for kids and they have great toilets and a Store.
If you have spare time walk für 10 min and you can visit a water bridge like in my fotos :)
Florian Herder — Google review
Impressive to see boats going up 30 meters in a matter of hours.
Somewhere along the canal there's a boat rental for amateurs which leads to an entertaining amount of struggling newbies. Not much to do otherwise except getting ripped off by the only restaurant there.
Ype Speelman — Google review
A beautiful walk along the canal du midi leads you to the locks. There is a great cafe which you can watch the boats going through the locks and enjoy a delicious glass of wine! The tourist train leaves from here and for €8 it’s well worth the trip as it weaves through the streets of Béziers.
Michelle Andrew — Google review
Nice walking place
You can ride on a boat
can eat
can enjoy
Martin Alexis Gonzalez Vidal — Google review
Was actually sailing the boat and it is really cool to go down it.
The lock keepers guided us through it as it was our first time going through several locks at a time.
If you are on foot it might be a little less entertaining but it is still worth seeing.
Jude Whittaker — Google review
Nice locks, the best thing was the tourist train into Béziers. You can easily access and park here, then take the tourist train into the center of the city. Béziers is busy and brutal to drive into for a visit, using the tourist train from here made it easy to also see the centre of town
Alex von Schilling — Google review
We took our Dutch barge through on our own with no other boats and what an experience ! After coming down the mighty Rhône…and through the Étang in quite windy weather, this was absolutely the highlight of the journey. It was amazing. Lauren the lock keeper was so helpful with information. All in all it was an unforgettable moment to pass through these locks of historical engineering built by men and women hundreds of years ago. Allows boats to be raised 21.5m (71ft) over a distance of 300m (980ft).
MagicBusArt — Google review
Lovely canal trips with super views or just take a walk along the canal & watch others going up & down the 9 locks
Deborah Jackson — Google review
Great place to visit and see how the locks work and great views of Béziers. Amazing to see how the same method is still being used today. Well worth the visit. If you visit the Restaurant at the top BEWARE the service is terrible, very slow and unhelpful we even had a server roll his eyes at us... But the food and views are fantastic.
Bobby-John Young — Google review
Really special place. You can walk or take a boat ride.
Note that parking is 7€. There are restrooms.
There is a nice coffeshop on site.
Jacques Behar — Google review
Great place for a walk, a lot of history and information on the way. Good place to watch the boats making their way through the locks. There are also cafes, toilets and information points at the top of the locks and great views of beziers old Town.
Steve Davies — Google review
Great experience. So glad we came to see it. The information centre was closed but we looked on good old Google for the answer to our questions. 😀
Sue Beckett — Google review
Great views of Beziers and fun watching the boats navigate the locks. You can get a 'road train' into Bezier from here with audio guide to explain the sights in your language.
David Troughton — Google review
Interesting place to pass by boat. Some really great picture monents. Kids will love it and will be amazed about this piece of industrial engineering.
Ruud Mobile — Google review
Incredible place, wich allow you to think about engineering when it was almost impossible to do so.
Good place to walk, have a nice morning or evening and enjoy the countryside.
Alex Delgado — Google review
Well, It’s a marvelous piece of engineering but if there isn’t any ship pass by, It’s only gates and canal.
Arthit Yodyunyong — Google review
Very clever piece of engineering. Nice river with fountains further along the way and lots of seating.
We got the small road train from the town centre which goes there and back.
Adrian Joyce — Google review
What a great experience, we had to wait 3 and a half hours to get up because there were so many boats coming down but we had a nice walk around.
The Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur Cathedral in Narbonne, France was constructed between 1272 and 1340, but was never fully completed. It boasts a transept and a lofty choir that stands at 40 meters high. The cathedral is one of the tallest buildings in France and dominates Narbonne's old district.
Been coming to Narbonne for over 10 years and this was my first visit to the Cathedral. How beautiful and a credit to all those that are responsible for its upkeep.
Thank you.

Cathédrale Saint-Just et Saint-Pasteur is a beautiful cathedral with breathtaking stained glass windows, elegant chandeliers, intricate tapestries, and captivating paintings. The stone-sculpted chapel and massive organ add to its grandeur. Entry is free, making it a must-visit attraction in Narbonne. Don't miss the opportunity to explore this magnificent cathedral if you're in the area.
Sue Real — Google review
Another beautiful French cathedral. Chapels surround the nave and main alter. A one way system is in place to conform with Covid precautions. There is a shop just outside the exit door.
Travel and living in France — Google review
The cathedral is grand, dramatically lit, and beautiful both inside and outside. Inside it was quite dark but solemn. We visited the surrounding buildings as well for an affordable price.
MrsWayfarer — Google review
Wow, don't miss this on your visit it's Even worth a dedicated visit if you love old style architecture it dates from the 12 century a top tip is there are two sides to the main building visit the derelict ruins first then the main area afterwards, and when inside don't miss all the other areas in the cathedral.
Steve Clark — Google review
This is one of the fascinating buildings, either incomplete (as in this case), or in ruins, that demonstrate, better than a completed edifice, the original plan of the builders. Here we have a complete choir with chapels containing a selection of works of art. Do not miss the cloister with its bizarre selection of gargoyles and pinnacles.
Wolfgang Laun — Google review
Very impressive and grand cathedral... lovely ground to walk around.. some part needs to get tickets to visit, including the museum nearby
PH PC — Google review
Very interesting large opulent cathedral. Part unfinished probably because of funds. Lovely stain glass windows. Photo taken from tower you can climb opposite.

Impressive Cathedral located in the heart of the city. From the outside, you can notice it has a Gothic-tyle and has a beautiful tall bell tower. Inside, the Cathedral is even more beautiful, with stunning stained-glass windows and elaborate decorations. The organ is huge simply amazing. The staff is friendly and informative, and they're happy to answer any questions you may have. Definitely a must-see attraction in Narbonne.

I flew in from Santa Barbara USA to find the city’s namesake. Immense ceilings in the finished parts. Roman ruins outside are very cool reminder if city’s history.
Jim O — Google review
It’s an amazing building. Mighty impressive powerful. I think it’s worth visiting just to see the interior. There is a treasury - the only place in the cathedral where you need to buy a ticket. It’s combined with the castle and the defensive tower nearby.
Kirill Maksimkin — Google review
While waiting for our train in Narbonne we decided to walk around and take a visit to the cathedral - we are so glad we did. There is so much history here and it is so grand for its age and location.
There is a leaflet inside the entrance in different languages that explain everything you need to know. It is worth the visit and the time to go inside.

Beautiful cathedral with stunning stained glass windows, chandeliers , tapestries and paintings. Their was an amazing stone sculptured chapel too and huge organ. Entry was free and a must to visit if in Narbonne
The Réserve Africaine de Sigean is a safari park and zoo that features African animals such as lions, gnus, and rhinos in both drive-through and walk-through areas. Visitors can observe these savanna animals in expansive enclosures that are well maintained. It is an ideal location for a day trip where visitors can enjoy lunch at one of the several snack bars available. The Sigean zoo is also dog friendly, making it accessible to pet owners looking for an exciting wildlife experience.
This is a great day out and they are dog friendly. The animals enclosures are big and are very well kept. They have several snack bars to get some lunch. We will definitely visit again
Nicola McCardle — Google review
Very nice place, cool idea! You can have a "Safari" with your own car / camping car, driving around (queueing in August) among exotic animals wandering free!
After that, there is a walking only area with many others animals and attractions for children.
The whole route takes 4-5 hours -ish. Water available inside the park.
The only con is related to the safari part, if you go in August (or during high season) you will probably queue a lot waiting for people to take pictures of the animals.
Luca Bellini — Google review
Absolutely amazing! We went on a day trip from Spain to visit the reserve. The kids had a great time and the animals look very well taken care of. Well done to all staff for such an amazing job. 👏🏻👏🏻 I would say the bathrooms were dirty, maybe a little more care will be appreciated by the visitors.
Anisia Pienaar — Google review
It is ok for the less price.
We had a bad luck with a weather but still we managed to pass there a half of the day.
We liked the first driving part. It was interesting, animals were walking really close and that what you could name “safari”.
But, unfortunately, this part was short and the rest of the park was more close to a typical zoo. To compare zoo of Valencia and Barcelona, I liked more: more animals and better territory. A lot of zones were empty….
The restaurant of the park is not expensive but not tasty at all, in IKEA you could eat much better. The souvenir shop is incredibly expensive, 25 euros for the small animal toy looks ridicules.
To conclude, it is a good option if the price was double less, it doesn’t cost its price at all. And there are a lot of picnic zones on the open air where better to take something really tasty and enjoy your lunch.
Daria Iemelianova — Google review
Visited again in July 2023. A huge territory for a car ride and a walking tour. WC are free, there are restaurants where you can get a snack or have a full lunch. During my first visit the part of the reserve was closed because of the bird flu. This time I could discover their collection of birds, it's impressive.
Iryna Konovalova — Google review
We enjoyed our experience at this park. It’s quite rare you get to do a self-drive safari, especially in the middle of Europe. So, this is a once in a lifetime experience. There were lots of animals to see and the park is really well organised. Just that we keep in the super peak period and the self-drive was super slow from heavy traffic (tourists stopping to take photos). I would recommend to come as early as you can to avoid the traffic.
Nishanth S P — Google review
We fell in love with this reserve! We loved the idea that you get to see real predators through the window of your car at a pace you feel comfortable with. It was truly unique. Even though it was really hot (more than 30 degrees C), we saw all animals, even the lazy lions, and bears. There were also plenty of bovine animals walking freely and not being intimidated by the cars passing by. This part of the park took about an hour and a half. The rest of the park, which is accessible on foot, is a good 4-hour walk.
The sanitary parts were well-maintained and eating inside the park is not expensive, as one might expect. Also, there are proper indications throughout the entire park so you can never get lost. There are mist shower systems situated in several places to keep you cool. Last but not least, there are many taps with drinkable water (if you bring your dog, there are taps suited at about 30 cm above the ground, which are perfect for small dogs). Definitely recommend to all families and animal lovers!
Lynda Bureau — Google review
I worked in Perpignan for a while so i visited what i could in the area :).
Been here with my fiancee, and didn't regret it at all. Was a pleasant day,not too warm, not too cold.
First part you travel in your car, we saw some black bears, some herbivorous animals like zebras, ostrichs and others. Than some Liones, actually one lion and some lionesses . Than we had a 4 hours walk , no rush and it was ok. Like a bigger zoo, animals with more space to run and play. No elephants or tigers, but for a walk in nature is a good place to go. The food is not the best and somehow expensive for what they offer. It is usually crowded, even if i went there outside the busy hours they say :).
After all it's a nice experience, worth going. This only if you haven't been in an actually Africa safari, than this will look like childish :).
adrian mircea — Google review
All in all this was a beautiful experience. We arrived reasonably early within the week (Monday, 9.30am) and it actually worked out really well. It wasn't too full, you can slowly drive through the Safari and it is an absolutely unique experience! Beware that the Lion part of the Safari opens at 10am, so we did have to wait for a moment before we could enter.
The Staff is super friendly and speaks English as well.
The Walkable Part of the Park is also really nice, with a lot of shade on the walkways and places to stop to eat/use the toilet etc. The enclosures seemed really nice to me, the animals weren't pacing and seemed really relaxed in general. There are some peacocks roaming around as well, which is pretty cool too.
All in all this was a great experience, and considering you can spend your entire day here and see all these beautiful animals this was definitely money well spent. I would always recommend!
Jennifer Schneider Díaz — Google review
That’s a huge park with very respectful and friendly way of treating animals. There is enough space for them as I can see. It doesn’t feel like a zoo. It’s more a window to a wildlife sanctuary. Even in winter you can find a restaurant to have some food. Meanwhile the infrastructure is really nice and well planned. There are parking, rest rooms, shops - everything that you may need after a long trip to this place. For sure this experience is worth it.
Kirill Maksimkin — Google review
Love this place. Seeing the animals as you drive was great then another whole part to walk.. need at least 3 hours if not more.. we went early amd was not to hot.. the hotter it get the more the animal stay in the shade. Also saw the flimgos being feed at 2pm was great so close . My 3 year old loved it.. but got tired on the walk part
June Murphy — Google review
The place is amazing. You can see alot of animals roam free. I highly recommend checking the feeding times of the animals, because that is the best time to visit them. You often see animals directly on the road. Be aware that the food isn't anything special at the place.
Venelin Dimitrov — Google review
We went in April 2023, in the morning. You should book in advance and you’re given an entry time (tolerance of 15-30 minutes if I remember correctly) - the website has all the info:
There are 2 parts. One visited inside the car (wild animals):
The wild animals were moving freely, but very visible since the food is next to the road where the cars circulate.
The animals looked “happy”, although bears and lions were sleeping (maybe their natural way).
The second part:
The park which can be visited on foot is very big, things distance apart, so be ready to use your shoes 😊
The restaurant has several options, including healthy ones. There are several coffee and ice cream shops around the park, with snacks, etc.
Regarding activities here (feeding animals, etc), there were not too many, nor information was very clear/ helpful. This is something to improve in my opinion.
I understand it’s intended to simulate a natural habitat , so I like that this is respected
Sandra Ventura Lopes — Google review
Best zoo/animal reserve experience that we’ve ever been to. The animals look healthy and happy with plenty of room to roam. This is what a zoo should be like. The staff is friendly and the experience itself was amazing. Definitely recommend even if it’s out of your way. Well worth the trip and would love to go back.
Zachary Huisman — Google review
The visit started out with a very long 40 minutes car queue to enter. We had already purchased our tickets, as requested in their website, but we noticed most cars hadn't. Hence the wait.
The first part of the tour is through the outer spaces were animals are free in the environment and visitors must be in their cars, with windows closed. To our astonishment, people lowered the car windows, offered food to animals, screamed at the animals and some even got out of their cars to photograph them. NO ONE FROM THE PARK DID ANYTHING. We were amazed.
Besides, the bears area had 3 bears only; we could only see 2 rhinoceros and lions were lying down in a space limited by an electric wire (over 10 meters away from the road)
Afterwards, we did the walking tour. We expected many more species and animals, larger spaces for them, but no. Animals are caged in spaces that evidently don't allow them to run or exercise as they would in the wild (so it feels more like a zoo than to a reservation).
The Vivarium doesn't have many species either.
It is a nice experience for kids, but we expected a lot more for the entrance fee.
Restaurants and snack bars are available in the walking area of the park, but food IS EXPENSIVE! And quality is not great. But I must say that fries were awesome!
Red-brick fortress built to guard the French/Spanish border, open for guided or unaccompanied tours.
We arrived quite late during the day and since neither of us spoke french very well and another tour just started one of the tourguides, a very nice lady, just did a spontaneous tour in English.
We would like to rate the Fortress experience a 5 star rating, but the lady really knocked it out of the park and created a special moment for us.
Thank you for the tour and the nice chats.

A huge fortress, powerful walls, and an incredible number of different routes inside. The guide speaks a mixture of French and Spanish, but surprisingly, you understand everything. The services of a guide are included in the ticket price and it is definitely worth joining the tour, since you can only get to the upper floor with a guide. I recommend it!

Quite breathtaking in its size and majesty. Huge thick walls and a fascinating history. The trebuchet and cannons on display are really interesting and we had the place to ourselves. Our 10 year old loved the games area which was a welcome distraction.

A very nice team with competent people who understood my disability and made the guided tour manageable. The castle is full of stories, beautiful, and the museum is absolutely interesting. Go there without doubt. (Guided tour might not be in English but many indications are written, and guide sheet available too)

Fantastic day out for a sunny or rainy day. It is one of the largest and most impressive castles I have been to. There are loads of interactive games and animations for the children to enjoy.
This castle is truly impressive and now offers translated guides and material in English and Spanish as well as French.
There is a tour in French which is definitely worthwhile even if you don’t understand the language.
€8 per adult and kids go free which is a bargain for the experience. A multi language audio guide would make it a five star experience.

The visit exceeded my expectation. Very well laid out and presented exhibitions and some audio visuals. Brought the history to life. Most information in French English and Spanish. Free parking. Highly recommended.

A masterpiece of European military architecture and exceptionally well preserved. Absolutely worth a visit when in the area. Admission is € 8 ( 2023). The keep is only accessible with a guided visit (in French), but you can roam the inner courtyard freely.

A revelation of a fortress! Not quite medieval, still not the modern fortresses of the 16th century, it guarded for a long time the Spanish-French border. A lot of defensive architecture innovations, all in an uniform style and still very well kept. The guide was most entertaining (in French). Great play room for kids.

Amazing place very well preserved. Very big building from 1000 B.C. that shows us an important part of the European History. The individual tour is not guided,It is just for groups. In this case more parts of the fortress are available for visitation. Parking is free , but small. Tickets for tour with fair price ( 8 EUR).

Such an awesome place to visit. I wish I knew French as the tour is French only speaking. Lower part of the fortress can be visited without a guide but the upper part of the fortress is guided tour only and I highly recommend it.
Perpignan Cathedral is a significant national monument of France and a Roman Catholic place of worship located in the town of Perpignan. The cathedral is constructed in the Catalan Gothic style and dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. It features a spacious nave with seven cross-vaults, a short transept, and apse with a vault featuring seven keys. Notably, it also showcases an exquisite wooden carving of Jesus.
Beautiful cathedral in a beautiful city, the each chapel is stunning. When I visited the church was beautifully decorated for Easter. Tip: the interior of the church remains cool even on hot days in Perpignan. ;).

Like so many of the many magnificent churches in the region there is the sense of peace and serenity inside the building. The ornate sculptures and altars are amazing - too much to see in a short visit.

Perpignan Cathedral is a must see if you are visiting Perpignan. It is a Roman Catholic cathedral, and a national monument of France, located in the town of Perpignan in Languedoc-Roussillon. It is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The cathedral was built in the Catalan Gothic style, because of its association with the Kingdom of Majorca. It has a wide nave made of seven cross-vaults, and features a short transept and apse, whose vault features seven keys.

Beautiful cathedral at the heart of the Perpignan, dedicated to St John the Baptist. I love the Catalan Gothic style and the seven cross-vaults are all different beauties.
Highly recommended visit, not only in Summer when it's so warm outside ;-)

Beautiful Gothic cathedral that is located in the heart of the city. The place is well-preserved and is full of amazing architectural details. I particularly loved the stained glass windows. The peaceful atmosphere of the cathedral makes it a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

A must see if in Perpignan. No admission fee. Not as large as some but very good.

Just a normal church, I like the simple and compact architectural style, typical for the region, but I wouldn't say it's a must see.

Not bad, if you are visiting the city it is a place to see it.
Beside that, the cathedral has nothing special.
Ancient castle complex with historical exhibits & information, with dramatic views from the top.
A fascinating site to visit, with several interesting temporary exhibitions. Lots of history and plenty to see so allow plenty of time to look round and enjoy it. We went out of season so avoided the summer crowds. Highly recommended.

Very nice castle. Definitely take the guided tour which is included in the price. We enjoyed the tour and all the history explained. The tour lasts around 1.5 hours.

One of the biggest and ancient castles on the region. It’s a true royal fortress as it says. There are a lot of groups of students visiting some excursions so make sure you are prepared. In the castle there are some temporary expositions including the one dedicated to the history of the place in 1930s. Moreover you can find an escape room and a projecting performance. At the end of the visit you will see the underlying rooms of the fortress. It’s as breathtaking as the view from the highest tower.
Kirill Maksimkin — Google review
Great castle, but the art exposition was awkward, too eclectic (on one wall, 10 commandments, and on the opposite, a nude woman that represented desire) and amateur. But still worth visiting

Very old and nice castel like on pictures not very much inside to watch but what we can do. The construction looks amazing and the vibe for the cost is worth this money :)generally if you are in Collioure you need to see this place

Very nice castle. Beautiful views of the town. If you have a child that requires a pushchair it is best to use a baby carrier or other means as pushchairs are not allowed in which makes sense due to the type of terrain. Fyi, the photo is the is a view from the top of the castle.
Natasha Simms — Google review
Amazing historical monument. Great even for English speakers, and families with children (under 18's have free entry). You can walk almost through the entire castle and take beautiful photos of collioure's city center. I would definitely pay there a visit

It would have been helpful to have signage in English (thanks Google translate). Art exhibitions were ugly tbh. Castle itself was interesting enough, lots of stairs and different levels, stunning views and a variety of architectural styles. €7 adult. Best bit was the heart shaped bush! Avoid market days, parking is impossible.

Collioure is a beautiful destination, all year round, with the most magnificent views. The castle is well maintained, super friendly and helpful staff. The locals are amazing, very warm and welcoming- even in the chill of winter. They are the highlight✨😊.
Jeanine Subramoney — Google review
Great views over Collioure which feel maybe more worthy of the 7 Euro admission than the castle itself. I felt a little underwhelmed at first, perhaps because many of the rooms are empty, but the more I explored the more I enjoyed the visit. Would definitely recommend a visit for the views and the historic reminder of the area of the years especially during WWII
Robert Hollingworth — Google review
In interesting and exciting surroundings on historical grounds, but in many of the rooms there is only empty space and not even information about what the room was used for or when it was built. There is potential to improve the experience for visitors.
Henrik Haugberg — Google review
Castel Royale is an incredibly well preserved piece of history with so much to explore. The views across Collioure are incredible.
It’s priced really well (€14 for a family of four). It to us 2-3 hours to get round with a free map/guide provided in multiple languages. The toilets are clean and free.
The only negative is that there is very little on show within the castle, most of the rooms are bare, so there is little to look at or read. There is also no cafe.

Château de Peyrepertuse is a captivating 11th-century Cathar castle situated on a rocky outcrop, offering breathtaking coastal vistas. The fortress, perched 800 meters above the Corbières, boasts 1.2 kilometers of ramparts and represents an exceptional example of well-preserved medieval architecture in Languedoc. Visitors can also catch sight of the nearby Queribus Castle from its heights.
Terrifying beautiful!
I went during initial spring time and I was mesmerize with the trail that leads to the castle, it looks like taken out of RPG medieval game.
It takes a bit of effort and it is bit dangerous they didn't spent much of the 10 million reform in security (I would say it is not very advisable to take kids here), but the views and atmosphere make it a must see if you are in the region. Next day I went to Carcassonne, but I did prefer this experience, way wilder.
Bottom line I think this was the coolest castle I ever visited although it is just a ruin the views and trail make worth it.

Interesting site with beautiful views. Most of what you see is build by king Louis the sacred, not by the Kathares (because he destroyed it, and rebuild it), still interesting. The audio-guide is of very bad quality; trying to be nice for children as well as for adults. The result is horrible and not nice for the both. Not much information either, and the english as well as the german version is very bad to understand as a not native speaker of both of those languages. So read it from a book or internet or whatever.

The end of the world. Or at least it feels like it. It used to be a hostile place where only the lighthouse man dared to go. Furious winds (Tramuntana) and massive storms shaped the coast and the character of its people. This precisely attracted Hollywood, whose stars came in the sixties and seventies to shoot a few high profile movies (Yul Brynner, Samantha Eggart ‘The light at the end of the world’). As of today, the area of el Far de Cap de Creus has been tamed, the lighthouse itself transformed into a bar and sort of a research center. It’s still totally worth going for a visit, the place retains its magic, but whenever possible, go walking, feel the breeze, the schorching sun, take a swim at the coves along the way, and enjoy the blue skies that will replenish your soul. When coming back, don’t tell anyone ;)

In case you don't visit the restaurant, you can park nearby and take a dedicated shuttle bus that stops at several points with hiking trails and a beach. There is an information point and a restroom right next to the parking lot for the bus, and the kind employees there will provide you with a map and answer your questions. The price is 7ero per adult for a round trip, you pay on the bus.

It's not the lighthouse itself that makes the visit: it's the view!
Standing on the most easterly point of the Pyrenees, there are amazing views of both the Spanish and French coasts.
The windy road to the cape is well surfaced and maintained. A the end of it - right by the lighthouse - is a free car park, a café-bar and a hotel-restaurant.
Pick a calm, clear day (as we did) and it's fantastic!
The Salvador Dalí House Museum in Port Lligat is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. This unique museum showcases the eccentric and intriguing life of Salvador Dalí, who resided here with his wife Gala from 1930 to 1982. The magnificent seaside complex overlooks a serene cove, offering breathtaking views. The whitewashed structure consists of interconnected cottages and sunny terraces, connected by narrow corridors that create a fascinating labyrinthine experience.
A fantastic window into Dali's life and thoughts. His studio is wonderful, once you see some of his large pieces at the museum you'll understand his movable easel.
Make sure to have reservations or be ready to wait and get there early.

I feel like it had more potential - they could have made the whole tour QR code audio guided.
He seems like an interesting character so I’m sure it could have been packed with fun facts and his life story.
They have mini QR snippets here and there but literally like 1-3 sentences that hardly offers value.
Watch a documentary about him beforehand to get a foundation first because you won’t be taught anything about his life Eg where he grew up/where he’s from/ how he died/his career.
It’s cool to see the quirky house and garden. And the little bay that it’s in is cute. But definitely unmet potential.

We loved this house tour! Dali did a lot of curious things and this house is full of interesting things to see. The people there are very particular that you have to pick up the tickets 30 minutes early and you can only go in the house exactly when your ticket says. There is a delicious open air restaurant about a 2 minute walk from the Dali house, right next to the bay. Check it out.

Dali's house is now a permanent time capsule dedicated to the incredible life and work of one of our greatest ever artists. His home is virtually untouched since his passing and therefore gives the visitor a fascinating glimpse into the life of the world's most famous surrealist artists.
For me, the opportunity to stand in his studio with several of his unfinished works was quite awe inspiring and incredibly emotional.
I must applaud the dedicated staff who were both passionate and helpful. If you are in the area I highly recommend a visit to this historical attraction.

A neat and interesting look into Dalí’s life and how it influenced him as an artist. Must see! Mandatory to book the visit in advance. We’ve planed too visit the Theatre Dali Museum in Figueres and due to time availability, we decided to visit the house of the artist before. Unfortunately we didn’t planed right and didn’t booked tickets in advance. The result was that the day was sold out. Still we managed to visit the gardens and exterior (separate ticket), which was available. The pool is also included in this tour. It tooled us aprox 1h and it gave us an idea regarding the house interior. It definitely worth to see at least the exterior if not the full house. As Dali himself stated, one cannot understand the artist works, if one hasn’t visited the artist nest.

It’s a great place. It’s a true home where you can feel less madness of Dali but more everyday life of the artist and his wife. They lived here and it’s obvious. But you can still see his amazing flair and talent. However the system to buy and get the tickets is weird. Even if you buy it online (which i strongly recommend) you have to arrive 30 mins in advance to pick them up and wait for 30 mins to start the visit which doesn’t make any sense. We were here in winter and there were no places to stay a bit and drink coffee or have any snacks. 30 mins of walking around is not so cool. Meanwhile the museum itself is worth it. It’s the third spot out of three museums within the Dalí triangle. I would say that it’s not so surprising and expressive in comparison with others but it helps to understand how Dali felt the world around.

My friend and I included a visit to Les Orgues on a 10 mile (16km) walk that we did recently starting and ending in Ille-sur-Tet, during the walk we could see Les Orgues from different aspects, it was most certainly the 'icing on the cake '
Neil Morrod — Google review
Visiting Les Orgues d’Ille-sur-Tet seems to take you back in time. Tall pillars of white sandy rock sculpted by an erosion phenomenon, they date back millions of years. You have to pay an entrance fee to enter the site (free under 10 years old, from there prices range from 3.50 euros to 5 euros). Parking is next to the ticket/shop.

Amazing place to visit, a must if you are in the area. €5 per person (October 2023) and we’ll worth it.

My normal stop over in the camper when travelling north or south into Spain. There is a building site on the large parking space, so now on the smaller car park. Still well visited by campers. The mall is good, but usually just visiting the supermarket to stock up.

I was a bit disappointed, I expected more shops and cheaper products. To be honest the only real bargains were the cigarettes and alcohol, and Nike shop.

Not so many shopping stores for what the number of reviews and name claims!
Weak lightening in halls.
Supermarket super packed with frenchs, who are buying their groceries with probably cheaper price…

When the Ancient Greeks were creating the very concept of Hell, with the dark and dastardly depths of Tartarus, brimming with lost souls wandering aimlessly amongst the most foul of creatures, they were most surely thinking of this place, this portal to the Abyss, from which no good has ever come, the very pinnacle of despicable consumerism and destructive capitalism.

An interesting outlet mall with many shops. If you can just avoid the weekend, French people go like crazy everywhere specially in the supermarket.

We've been here twice this summer. In the beginning of July and in mid-August.
In July it was still relatively quiet and it was easy to stroll around and wander through the stores. In Mid-August it was completely packed...on a morning...on a weekday! Mostly with french visitors. Made it more difficult looking around the shops for a good deal. Also finding a parking lot became more difficult, there was a huge line when we left after lunchtime....lot was full!
Besides that it is a great Mall to spend a few hours. There's a good number of restaurants and food counters. But we just bought some Bread, Cheese and Jamon in the nice Escudero Supermarket and took a seat on one of the many comfy couches all around the mall.
The Guess store is also worth a visit. Small, but great offers. You really need quite some hours if you are looking for great deals. And it is a nice mall to do so. Parking is free, there's free WiFi and the toilets are free and clean. Pets are allowed as well (everywhere except the Supermercat).
Will come back again.

Not that great overall. It is a lot smaller than other similar centers so there is not a lot of variety. The shops look terrible with very few exception (desigual looks great everywhere). On the plus side, they have a lot of parking spaces.

Salvador Dali's famous art museum is housed in a red castle-like building with giant eggs and stylized Oscar-like statues. The museum exhibits pieces from Dali's early career to his later works, including installations and more discreet pieces. Visitors will likely be able to speak English, but it's polite to learn some Catalan as well.
Unique experience, the whole place is amazing. Apart from the paintings and the installations on display, visitors can also have a chance to see the artwork of some other artists. Also we had the chance to see the work that Dali did in relation with Dante's Divine Comedy. Definitely worths a visit no matter if Art is your cup of tea or not!

Famous museum with a lot of famous and impressive works of art and sculpture! Decent interpretation as well. I liked the Mae West room, and the room near the end with the melted clock and the feet on the ceiling.
It can be busy, so book online in advance. The ticket price is also fair at E15, not ridiculous like some in Barcelona.

This is madness. This is out-worldly. “Where, if not in my own town, should the most extravagant and solid of my work endure, where if not here?“
Definitely book online in advance and spare around three hours (remember the closing time at 17:45). I would go early in the morning as it gets super crowded. Also guided tour is highly recommended!

Amazing place, totally worth it. Salvador Dali’s art is awesome. Definitely have to see it in person. The Museum is pretty big and you need at least two hours to see everything. In addition to the main part, there is another exhibition (in another building) with Dali’s jewellery which must be seen as well. The museum is so pretty on the outside also. There is a shop inside to buy authentic souvenirs. Had a great time, you should visit it too, if in Barcelona!!!
Zdravko Dimitrov — Google review
The museum that Dali himself designed for himself and his posterity. You need a guided tour to fully understand the nuances of the museum. While I didn't see any signature pieces, still saw a number of unique pieces to make it a worthwhile visit. The city of Figueres is Dali's hometown and having his museum there, he is giving back to his hometown with the tourist dollars forever. Definitely a proud native son.

We had a visit as a team event with a private viewing and I loved the Dali museum. His paintings and the many layers needed loads of time to absorb and many details. Sadly we only had 40 minutes but so interesting and quirky which I love.

My favorite painter. Amazing and so special experience. He was definitely something more than human, painter, artist.. Words are fading when I am trying to explain.. The day I will remember.. if you are staying for few hours here..it would be little. Here you can feel him and the way he was sharing his world with others and showing them what he wanted them to see. Such an exquisite soul. All recommends, unique experience.

Pure magic! It deserves to spend the whole morning visiting and interpreting all the masterpieces of such a great artist! I strongly recommend to hire a guided tour or to use an audioguide to help yourself understand the meaning of all the items exposed as well as to discover the hidden images and secrets of the pictures.

Really 4.5. It is a unique and interesting museum, but it didn't sweep me off my feet. For one thing, it's not very large. And it doesn't contain some of Dali's best works. When there are a lot of people, it can feel crowded. Nonetheless, it's worth a visit if you are in Barcelona for at least 3 nights.
Also, no need to go there with a tour company, as it's readily accessible by train out of Barcelona for a fairly inexpensive price, and a 15-20 mins walk from the train station. The town of Figueres is also cute, so it's worth strolling through it a bit.
Igor Faynshteyn — Google review
Probably the main attraction of Figueres. It is possible and recommended to purchase tickets online in advance. The museum is splendid, with the peculiarity that, by Dali's own will, there is no predetermined route, and everyone is free to visit it in their own way. More explanations regarding the exhibited content would have probably made the visit even more interesting, but it remains an overall splendid experience.

If you like Dali you will find this museum interesting. I took the guided tour in English and learned some interesting details that you do not get just from wandering around.
You need to plan ahead to get a guided tour. I had to wait 2 days for the English tour. I have included some of my surrealist photography that was inspired by Dali.

Amazing experience! Went on a Saturday and we had pre booked fast track tickets. There was no wait time and the museum is very easy to find and get to from the train station. We spent more than 3 hours and felt we could easily do 3 more. Its a magical experience that allows you to be a part of Dali’s world. The museum is a work of art inside and outside and definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend

We will forever remember the day we spent here as one of the best of our lives...exploring this place for hours, wandering the halls of an amazing architectural space seeing some of the best surrealist art that's ever been created and visiting the artist's tomb in his hometown. Truly ineffable. The jewels exhibit is somewhat hidden and is utterly stunning so we hope you can find it

Well, what else can be said about this sublime museum? Dali designed and set it all up and you can tell as much upon entering and the ensuing adventure within.
I visited in May 2016 when the weather was beautiful. The train from Barcelona doesn’t take too long and is cheap enough. The train I got took around 2 hours and cost around 20 Euro’s return. The museum ticket was 14 Euro’s but this may have changed.
The crowds were spread out so things didn’t get too claustrophobic and you can go off in pretty much any direction you wish. It’s definitely not your conventional journey inside a museum.
My visit was made more fun after meeting a recently divorced American lady who sold everything up and decided to back pack around Europe. She has been a Dali fan since high school and this was one of her major stops along her travels. It was quite exciting to see someone from the other side of the world enjoying the museum like a child enjoys Christmas morning.
The shop was nice but could have had a little more on offer. I did pick up a lovely poster for the collection but there wasn’t a lot on offer which was a shame.
There are few museums around Europe that offer an experience of this kind. Now we are getting back to more regular travel, I would suggest you make The Dali Museum a high priority.
David Newman — Google review
Difficult to put into words. If you like Dali’s work, given he designed this Museum - this is almost a religious experience. Be sure to visit the Dali Jewels exhibition just beyond the Museum gift shop, included with your ticket. Well worth the trip to the beautiful town Figueres.

The Dali museum was well worth the hassle of traveling to Figueres from Barcelona. It's a short walk (15 min) from the train station. We arrived late for our reservation due to us taking longer than expected on the train. They allowed us to come in only because there were open spaces in the next time slot but I highly recommend reserving tickets ahead of time. The museum is I think about 3 floors and ascends in a circular manner. It's extremely crowded in the afternoon so perhaps an early time slot is more comfortable. It was difficult to admire all the works due to the crowds but that was to be expected. If you're debating on coming here, take the plunge. I am a big fan of his artwork and to witness one of his greatest masterpieces, including his tomb was very gratifying.

Came on one of the busiest weekends mid August. The place was full of tourists, but even then we still had some luck with waiting outside the two nearby indoor parkings for around 10 minutes to be able to park. We walked up over to the ticket counter and bought the tickets to get access in the next 10 minutes. It was around 2:30pm when we got in. The place is a bit of a maze but it honestly fits with the vibe of Dali's art. Despite it being packed, the rest of the tourists were respectful of space and it was a generally nice visit. The art, of course, is amazing - a definite must visit.

We were blown away by the intricate details and senses-evoking exhibits and experience that this museum had provided. As a Dali fan, it was a visual and thought-provoking feast! Even my companions of non-dali fans were easily converted into one after going through the works and installation.

Really interesting display. Interactive and fun. We tried not to get lost, many things to see. Quite sure we missed a few! Loved the pictures with Dali himself painting what we can actually see in the room.
Only bémol would be the app. If you take a picture with your phone, the app starts from scratch when relaunched… it takes too long.
Easy to park nearby - we added a nice walk downtown with small Christmas market.

Very interesting to walk and look around the huge museum of quirky and fascinating artwork and experience. You don’t have to love art to have a great time and enjoy this museum. It’s a fun place to experience
with friends and family and you can spend a lot of time just talking about it. Each artwork is so unique and eye catching - some are huge installations, some play with the architecture of the building, others require a second look to unravel the overall picture. There are so many hidden features in each area, depending on where you are looking from, something could look entirely different. It’s a museum unlike any other, where every wall and corner would have something special. Each artwork would have an artist statement and description, explaining the intention and meaning behind the piece, making it so much more interesting and easy to appreciate. Some art pieces are absolutely incredible in terms of their visual qualities like the choice of colour, the fine details, the overall composition. Included in the ticket, is a nearby building a few steps away from the museum, where there are artworks made of precious gems and jewels. Each piece was simply stunning - bedazzled in colourful gems, each work had a peculiar structure and form.

A must visit! I was very delighted with what I saw. There is one drawback - you may not get to the museum immediately as soon as you arrive in Figueres, due to the huge influx of tourists to the museum, as well as others who want to visit it, so I recommend purchasing tickets online in advance. We bought tickets at about 11.30 and got to the museum only at 16.15.

Amazing experience. If you are in the area this is a 'must do' even if you aren't into the work of Salvador Dali. This fascinating museum is all the more incredible given the fact that the great man conceived and created it himself during his lifetime.

Excavated ancient city overlooking the sea with a wharf, forum and thorough archaeological museum.
This is an incredible place with both green and Roman runs. The history is shared through the audio guide and makes you feel like you are entering the time of the Greeks. The mosaics in the Roman city are not to be missed.

Brilliant Find overall. A bit tricky to find using GPS Or Google. Used road markings to reach the place.
Great spot, next to sea beach. Many people went to sea beach as well using the same parking as the site. 2 big parking available.
The site entry is 5 euros or so. Kids free. Free voice headsets. The explanations (voice guidance) is available in many languages. If you really want to know and learn and hear each set of voice message it will take you an hour or so just for greek part them similar for Roman part. A bit hard to do when it is too sunny as there is no shade once you enter the main site. One ice cream van at the entry ( inside).
Overall great place for history lovers.

We paid 7 euros, and it was definitely the best 7 euros spent in a long time! Fascinating site still undergoing excavation. There are plenty of details around the Greek site, but not as much on the Roman site. You could easily spend a day there. Take plenty of water and sunscreen as you will be outside with little shade for the majority of the time. The indoor exhibition was closed for refurbishment on our visit, but they had put some of the better finds in a small room below.

Gorges de la Fou is a family-friendly destination where visitors can enjoy a small excursion with provided hard hats for safety. The canyon offers a cool and refreshing experience, so bringing a jacket is advisable. It's an opportunity to test your stamina while walking through nature and admiring the marked fauna with descriptions. Additionally, there are cafes and restaurants at the entrance/exit for refreshments.
A place where you can accidentally get wet. Also be careful with your power, as it is a good test of stamina. Great place for a walk “through” the nature, amazing view. Nice detail is that all types of fauna are marked and given a small description. There are also some cafes and restaurants just on the entrance/exit, so you can restore some energy if you wish. Good place to enjoy the nature with friends or family in a pleasant way.

The Ramparts of Villefranche de Conflent are a stunning example of a medieval fortified village, built in 1095 to protect the surrounding valleys from invasion. Interesting. 1euro by Lio train from Perpignan. Great for a hot day. I was there in early November and I pitied the soldiers that had to work in that Castle fort. Gorgeous little walled village with high walls all around it - you can't miss it if driving along the N116. Parking along the main road was free on Sunday and there is also lots of parking on the western and eastern side of the village outside the walls. Toilets on both sides seem to be out of order though! The village was very quiet on a Sunday afternoon in December but it was still lovely to walk through it and go up to the train station. The dramatic landscape of mountains beyond the walls adds to the charm. I do imagine it could be a tourist hotspot in busier times of the year though seeing the closed souvenir shops and hotels.

Besalú is a medieval town with a 12th-century Romanesque bridge over the Fluvià river.
The name Besalú is derived from the Latin Bisuldunum, meaning a fort on a mountain between two rivers.
The town's importance was greater in the early Middle Ages, as capital of the county of Besalú, whose territory at one point extended as far as Corbières, Aude, in France. Wilfred the Hairy, credited with the unification of Catalonia, was Count of Besalú.

A very pleasant place, I recommend visiting it. There you can take many fabulous photos and dip yourself into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages with knights and ladies.

Do not miss the old medieval bridge if you are around Besalu. It is a wonderful piece of heritage beautifully inserted in the surrounding nature. The whole village itself is also a must see and definitely worth a visit.

Besalù in Spain is a captivating medieval town, renowned for its striking Romanesque bridge that stretches across the Fluvià river. This historically rich town, a part of Catalonia, is a treasure trove of ancient architecture, including the remnants of a once-formidable fortress and a Jewish bathhouse dating back to the 12th century. The cobblestone streets, flanked by well-preserved medieval buildings, transport visitors back in time. Besalù is not only a feast for history enthusiasts but also offers delightful culinary experiences with its local Catalan cuisine. The town's compact size makes it perfect for leisurely exploration, promising an enchanting journey through a bygone era. A visit to Besalù is an unforgettable immersion into medieval splendor and cultural richness.

Jardíns de Cap Roig is a serene botanical garden that encompasses a stone castle in a picturesque environment. Established in 1927 by Russian Colonel Nicolai Woevodsky and English aristocrat Dorothy Webster, the garden spans over 20 hectares and features more than 800 botanical species. It is renowned as one of the most remarkable gardens in the Mediterranean region.
This is so much more than a beautiful botanic garden, it's a story of the lives, love and legacy of two people.
We arrived early and being able to explore the garden virtually alone was truly a
magical experience. I could feel the presence of Dorothy as I walked down the steps from house and into the garden with the beautiful views.
Lot's lovely places to sit and soak up the atmosphere.
Free car park, but if you have a motorhome, don't try freeloading, you have to visit the garden. 10€ for adults or 5€ if you are over 65.
What I really didn't like and I tried my best to ignore, we're the awful, out of place "sculptures". Why are they even there? Please get rid of the hideous, tacky bowl of fruit and put it back where it deserves to be in a holiday camp amusement arcade.
Having said that, if you can turn a blind eye, you will enjoy the garden.
Elizabeth Jackson — Google review
You can tell it's run by a bank. Spotless, the gutters at the sides of the path are swept clear of grit daily, the signposts are poor, the one way system in the car park isn't marked and the pedestrian entrance is closed and unmarked requiring an additional 1.5km to the ticket office. The first map is 100s of meters inside, no map handed out
Big summer music festival including Rod Stewart no less. Banks eh.
But the plants are great, nice sea view.
Worth going

Fastidiously designed estate with stunning attention to detail. High above the cliffs amongst the pine trees, twisting, anastomosing paths take you on a journey of botany and photo culture like never before. Especially the cactus area! Take your camera on a sunny day and you’ll not want to leave.
Sandy Man — Google review
It is a pleasant and well maintained botanical garden. The entrance is 10€, 5€ for students, and it looks like it is free for the clients of the Caixa bank (though I am not 100% sure about that).
We have visited during a low season, and there were only few other visitors. Of course, many plants are not at their most beautiful state in december...
It took us about an hour and a half. The castle was closed.
The only issue is a bad design of the walkways. Instead of having trails that meander through the entire garden, many of the trails have a dead end, so you have to retrace your steps quite often.
Alex Rublinetsky — Google review
Beautifully maintained gardens. Everything is labelled for identification. Staff are friendly. There is a picnic area and small children's play area. The stone castle looks amazing against the blue skies (cannot go inside). 10€ each in 2022 entrance fee and free if you have la caixa bank account, parking included in the price. of which there is plenty. Very clean toilets inside the grounds and vending machines outside (bottle of water 1€)
Fantastic sea views from the beautiful gardens and well worth a visit.

For 10 euros you get to have a walk in a Mediterranean botanical Park of at least 2 hours walk. You can even bring your food as there is a picnic area and your book for the book area. Just with the photos you can see how incredible it is

Highly recommend this beautiful garden to walk around and take in views over the sea. It is a large garden so I would recommend a few hours to walk around it all! Many types of plants and flowers can be seen, and some beautiful old buildings. Lots of places to sit and admire a nice view. Note that there is no cafe, only a small vending machine with drinks and snacks, but they only take cash, or card payment with an app called breazy. There is a picnic area inside the garden under shade and many tables to sit so best to just bring your own drinks and snacks!
Sophie Palmer — Google review
We had an absolutely lovely day here, it is well worth visiting these gardens. The plants are arranged in areas - terraces, cactuses etc which makes them interesting to look at. We were lucky with a beautiful blue sky to set the plants against, and going down to the lower paths you get glorious view of the deep blue Mediterranean sea. Highly recommended.

Beautiful scenery, lovely gardens! Lacks a proper cafe and the gardener workers were blasting their radio when we were relaxing in the lounge area (kind of killed the enjoyment of being in a garden). Lots of walking, but also lots of benches to sit and relax. Stunning views.

They added a new Part to the garden in the last ten years with a picnic place and a playground. Still a nice garden steeply declining into the Mediterranean. They also have roughly two dozen works of art well placed.

I loved this place. Beautiful gardens overlooking a beautiful coastline. I'm a garden lover so I especially enjoyed the walks and the huge variety of plants. I spent about an hour and a half there. I arrived at around 11:00 and the place was very quiet which, for me, made it more enjoyable. You can drive right up to it and park there for free. The entrance fee was €10.
I would definitely recommend coming for a visit.
Lou — Google review
We arrived here in the heat of the day (what do they say about mad dogs and Englishmen!). The gardens also had their festival running which meant there were limited facilities there.
However, the gardens are very picturesque with views across the coastline providing a dramatic setting for the beautiful gardens. It's planted out really nicely with areas of shade which are welcome on a hot day. Castle is a really nice spot in the middle of the gardens although it was closed up because of the festival.
Staff were really helpful and friendly from the guy on the gate, to the taxi driver who shuttles you from the car park to the garden (2 minutes) and to the lady on the ticket desk.
Pretty easy walking although be aware it is built on the cliffs so there is quite a bit of up and down.
I'd recommend going when the festival isn't on as then you can stop somewhere for a drink and get a better feel for the place.

Beautiful botanical garden with interesting history. It’s a nice place for a walk and has beautiful terraces to have a view on the calas and the sea.
+definitely worth seeing
+beautiful, peaceful and green
+worth hiking
+there is a picnic spot in the shade
+has a very nice swimming spot nearby (not a part of the garden) Worth hiking there
-not a lot of information about the place, it’s history and plants. Worth looking in the internet before or during the visit.
-quite tricky navigation around the garden.
-no place to have food or drinks nether inside the garden nor nearby. There are some vending machines with water that don’t accept credit cards. So take some snacks or water in advance.

Lacking a bit in the information and understanding the plant but very quickly you are awestruck by the sheer amount of plants and beautiful spots there are.

Girona's medieval walls are a fascinating remnant of the city's past, and offer walkers wonderful vantage points of the area. There are several entrances to the walled park, including an alley east of Girona Cathedral that leads into lush greenery. Nearby, you can climb up a spiral staircase inside Torre Gironella for an excellent lookout.
Las Muralles de Girona is a huge, beautiful place - definitely one of the highlights of the city. The inner gardens are very pleasant, specially to rest a bit during a hot summer day. I really recommend taking the whole waking route to get the best impression of the place.

A long wall connected to Girona Cathedral. It was a place where their efforts to protect the castle by shooting arrows could be seen. Once you set foot, it's too far to turn back. You arrive on the other side. However, it is worth it because the view is so beautiful. I recommend you go up there.
M Pak — Google review
Massive old walls that's a must-visit. You can walk on the ground alongside the wall to appreciate its size, then climb the stairs up the wall on either side then walk atop the wall from one end to the other, taking in the views of Girona as you go by. You'll most likely pass by others along the wall which isn't a problem, and there's some areas including towers you can stop by along the way.

For sure one of the highlights of the Girona. Amazing views and not too crowdy (except the northern part close to the Cathedral). There are also many towers which you can climb on for better views.

Girona Cathedral is a large, impressive building made of many different styles of architecture. It is one of the most famous and popular tourist destinations in the region. The cathedral has a wide Gothic nave that is larger than any other Gothic church in the world.
One of the most important cathedrals in Europe. a very interesting place that is worth the detour. Not to be missed, the carpet of creation. one of the most beautiful pieces of art you can see. Wonderful

Girona was originally on my plan, on my way to Barcelona to Marseille, I made a stop for lunch, and the quick lunch turned out to be a whole afternoon leisure. I stayed at the Cathedral of Girona for over 2.5 hours, appreciating its architecture wonder. It has the widest nave of 23 meters for any cathedral in the world. It also collected the tapestry of creation treasure, the 1000 year old tapestry was still having the brightest colors you could imagine, with the design and story behind the tapestry. It is truly a masterpiece collection! The cathedral was very quiet on a Monday afternoon, only less than a dozen people inside. I was a very pleasant surprise visit of the cathedral! 🙏🙏🙏Cheers!😃😃😃

This church in Girona is truly majestic and one of the main attractions for visitors. It is one of the best churches I have seen in Europe. The Cathedral of Girona is a thousand-year-old building famous for its historical significance and its appearances in film and television. The building is located at the highest point of the old city of Girona, known as the "Old Force," and is protected by a set of walls and ramparts. The Gothic nave, tower of Charlemagne, cloister, and sacristy remain from its Romanesque period in the mid-11th century.

The ‘Catedral de Girona’ is one the most impressive architectural buildings in the whole region. The church lays imposing at the top of a beautiful, long staircase - the best spot for portrait pictures, of course. I recommend going early to avoid too much wait.
Flavio Pimentel — Google review
This Gothic Cathedral is certainly a sight to behold. Beyond its beauty, it is so rich in history, so be sure to pick up an audio guide on your way in. Entrance is 7 euros, which includes entrance to the basilica as well. The Cathedral has many beautiful and majestic pieces of tapestry draped over its walls, so take your time to enjoy that and the rest of the art displayed throughout the space. Definitely a must-visit during your stay in Girona.

WOW! This is the widest cathedral I have ever seen. It's the second widest in the world, after St. Peter's basilica in Vatican! Its dimensions hit you when you arrive in the square, it's enormously beautiful. The painted glass windows are exquisite, very well maintained. Take the audio guide, it's free and very informative.

Stunning cathedral, really glad I decided to go in! (versus only taking a photo of the famous steps) It's the tallest cathedral nave in Europe and has amazing stained glass. The audio guide is great and included with ticket entry. They also do student discount. Come in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, as the coach tours have gone home in the afternoon and there's several cafes still open in Girona at that time.

Visiting the Girona Cathedral is a must if you're in Girona. I visited other great churches and cathedrals throughout my travels, but for some reason, this one took my breath away as soon as I walked through the door. It must be the sound of the organ playing, mixed with the dark setting and the overwhelming size of the interior. It's hard to describe. You have to see it for yourself!

One of the most important cathedrals in Europe, it is simply impressive. Being a fan of Game of Thrones, I had to visit it. It was a great experience to see it laying at the top of a gorgeous, long staircase. This is definitely a must-see place in Girona! I would love to come back soon, probably not in Temps of Flors due to the amount of people.

Went to Girona in November 2023 for a University Trip, was absolutely gorgeous and so quiet even though it was a Thursday! 100% recommend if you want a holiday without all the noisy tourists, a lot of steep hills and walking so if you’re a bit older or have a few kids probably not great but if you don’t mind the walking it’s a lovely area, plenty of shops and cafes further back in the towny area, this was about a 15-25 min walk from the shops and stuff but that area wasn’t horrifically crowded, pretty average I would say, so overall a lovely area and perfect for travels ^^

The cathedral is the jewel in the crown, the old town is steeped in history with it's many narrow streets and tall buildings but sitting high above them all is the magnificently built Cathedral, the entrance ticket is 7.50 euros as of November 2023, and it is worth paying just from the visual aspect, but will the tickets price you get an electronic guide that you hold up to your ear, thankfully these ones work really well and easy to use and the information is clear and short and very well explained, so give it a big thumbs up

This museum tells the story of Judaism in Girona, Catalunya, through exhibits on religion and culture. There is also a gift shop where visitors can purchase items related to the Jewish community. The museum is proud of its Jewish heritage and does not shy away from less salubrious aspects of history such as Inquisition persecution and forced conversions.
Nearly all artifact explanations in three languages. Provided otherwise hard to find site based insight regarding the brief two centuries peace before the 1492-3 persecutions. Steep Geography of Surrounding neighborhoods compliment the depictions of daily 14th C living in exhibits.

Castillo de Tossa de Mar is a large and well-preserved castle with extensive fortification walls, numerous towers, and a courtyard. The town of Tossa de Mar is located on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, between rocky outcrops and tree-studded hills, blending the modern comforts of resorts with an authentically old-world local charm.
One of my favorite places in Catalonia. This sea city features everything you need for a fun and relaxing weekend. Beaches are clean and spacious with Tiki bars, and restaurants all around the town. The views are absolutely amazing no matter where you go. Going up hill is a fantastic experience whether by train or on foot. Every step you take has a view. Although there are few ruins left of the ancient fortress, you still can appreciate the walls and towers which surround it. There's a nice little restaurant half way up the top of the hill, and another one where the light house stands at. There's also a cute museum with nice little things found in the area. Don't miss taking a picture with Ava Gardner's sculpture and the little chapel behind it and on the way back you can follow a different path with stone covered streets which lead to all the traditional restaurants and shops and don't forget to wear comfortable shoes to climb up the stairs along the walls.

Tossa de Mar has no direct train from Barcelona, you have to go to Gerona or Calella and travel onwards from there.
Parts of the old town date back to the 1600's with what I would describe as 'typical' Spanish architecture. The basement of the museum in the castle dates back to Roman times where there was a villa. As can be seen from the pictures there is the original mosaic.
There are beautiful views across the bay from the top of the castle and is worth the walk.

One of the best beaches i have ever been to. If you're a tourist and wants to visit beach in Spain then i would recommend to visit Costa Brava Region. This is a beautiful pebble beach. Tossa de mar is one of the cities to visit them. There are 2-3 beaches, small and big. There is a castle on the beach side so you can see Sea from some height. There isn't any fee to enter the castle. There are direct Buses to Tossa de mar from Barcelona, operated by Moventis, I don't know about the prices, but it should be around 10-15 Euros. If you want to travel from Girona, then you have to take bus till Lloret de mar (One way price 6,05, takes 1 hour) and then lloret de mar to Tossa de mar (takes 25-30 minutes, one way price 2.4 Euros). You can also visit beautiful streets of Tossa de mar.

Having strolled through the city, going to the old castle throws you back in time. You can almost see the large sailing ships, hear the cannons roar and see the soldiers manning the tower and fortress.
Looking down to the ocean from the castle is amazing. You can actually see the fish and rocks going disappearing in the depths of the ocean.
On top of it all - quite literally - there is a small cafe with the most amazing views. Almost 360 degrees unhindered view of the Mediterranean.
Enjoy your drink!

Platja de Lloret de Mar is a beautiful and popular beach with a large bay. The sandy shore can be busy, and the water has surprisingly large waves that deepen quickly. There's a steep drop-off from the beach to the sea, making it less suitable for small children. However, there are calmer areas near Castel d'en Plaja and in the evenings.
It's a very nice beach with lots of entertainment, bars and restaurants. Very clean water, but watch your kids when it is wavy. It's deep in a couple of metres.

Lloret beach where you can watch a beautiful sunrise surrounded by people pissing, vomiting and throwing all kinds of rubbish into the water.
A water that despite everything is reasonably clean and you can snorkel and enjoy the seabed full of panties, compresses, bottles, cans and other various gadgets that "people" who visit the city deposit.
Totally recommendable to take the car and go to wherever it is sure that it is cleaner.

Came here for the day, stayed in one little area! I really like this beach the sea is quite clear, the sand is quite rough and hard to walk on but it’s ok, there’s plenty to do, drinks and food nearby an aqua course, pedal boats, toilets and showering facilities nearby. the sun beds are €8 each and extra for umbrellas and has lovely views of the area. It’s relatively busy but not overly crowded. I would come back to this beach i’ve had a great day!

We had a walk during the day and cocktails at night. The ambient was so relaxing. Music whilst drinking sangria what else would you ask for. I had a great time

Decent beech, if not a little busy. I could not walk on the sand barefoot (VERY, very small pebbles), the beech has surprisingly large waves and the water gets deep quickly. There is a steep drop-off from beech to sea which, whilst good for landing small pleasure boats, is not good for small children. I (adult) was almost knocked off my feet by waves whilst walking along the shoreline. Up towards Castel d'en Plaja (rocky area), plus (generally) in the evenings, the drop-off/wave size was not as bad.

Very nice beach (not fine soft sand) and beautiful water. On south side there is a stone coastal pathway that leads to an overlook and castle ruins.

A beautiful beachfront to wine and dine with friends and family. The view was amazing and waves were spectacular

Traveled here on the local bus from Tossa Dr Mar.
Having got off at the main bus station it was not far to walk to the beach and along the cliff top path to climb up the rocky headline or further if you wish to.
Nice sandy edge inlet swimming shallows.
Well worth a day trip and worth the bus price.
Check before returning as I thought I bought a return ticket but was informed otherwise at the ticket office bus station when I enquired about this.
Nice scenic stroll along the promenade beach front and returned back to the bus station down the back streets.

Nice, large very busy beach. May be good for nightlife seekers. Too busy if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Nice place to visit, excellent food, lots of bars and clubs people are very welcoming the food pictures are from the best restaurant by far la tagliatellia located on the far end of the beach close to the castle.
Playa de Fenals is a city beach situated in the quiet and serene district of Lloret de Mar. It boasts of coarse white sand, crystal-clear water, lifeguards, toilets, lockers, and a range of water sports facilities for both kids and adults. The beach offers an array of water entertainment options such as boat trips, kayaking among others. Xaloc restaurant situated within the vicinity offers excellent culinary experiences to visitors.
The very best beach on Costa Brava. Really, if you ever wanted to go to Lloret de Mar, don't go to the city center, choose Fenals district as it's more silent, with very good Xaloc restaurant, clean beach and nice walking routes.

Nothing special. The best at this location is the rock formations on the right side of the beach, especially in summer late evening. Unfortunately too many R U PPL. I felt uncomfortable (little stalingrad). I will not back because of this.

In my opinion it's better than the main beach in Loretta de mar. It seems a bit classier and not as commercial. There are a few bars and restaurants if required. The entrance to the sea is steep at the south end and shallow at the north.

Where did the beach go?
Where did the pavement go?
Why no maintenance was done?
Don't blame climate change but the constant weather modification programs the Spanish government is well aware of.

Very nice place 👍beach has a blue flag, water is very clean, you can see many small fish. It's coarse sand and me personally like it a lot.

Great beach with lots of amenities. No litter and according to the signs very clean water.
Plenty of shops, bars and water sports to keep everyone entertained.

very nice but 7am in the morning you recognize the main objective of this small spot, party party fiesta 🤣 full of the leftovers from last nigt, outside the beach you smell urine allover. But it is beautiful, just the sand isn’t that fine as I am used to it. deserves almost five points as per beauty and view.

Beautiful beach with white and pink sand coarse sand (you cannot build sand castle). The sea has blue and green colours, particularly in the afternoon. It's ok for family and lovers.

This is one of the most beautiful beach that I have seen! But if you have the luck to be there in and windy day it is not so enjoyable! Clean beach and crystal water. You even have the possibility to take a boat trip or rent a kayak or a lot of other water entertainment for both kids and parents!

Illa Fantasia is a water park located just 30 minutes away from Barcelona, offering a variety of attractions suitable for all ages. It features a wave pool, water games, rapids, and a pirate-themed maze. Visiting early in the morning on weekdays is recommended to beat the heat and crowds. The friendly staff make an effort to communicate in English. However, some caution is advised due to steep walkways and the need for foot protection on certain slides.
One of the best water parks I have ever been to. Quite challenging attractions fit for all levels of enjoyment from adrenaline kicks and dreamy relaxed.

If you have choice where to go, better chose Marineland, WaterWorld or Aquadiver. This place is not well organized for the visitors and too crowded: no benches to sit, no grass where you can rest and the water is quite dirty in all pools.

Pros:
- staff is pretty nice
- big area with relatively diverse pools and slides
- nice picnic area
- you can bring your own food
Cons
- it's closed by 5:45 pm !!
- some rules are weird and illogical (having to go round places with no reason)
- food is overpriced
- some slides will cut you
3 stars overall, mostly because of the hours. You spend 100 euros for a family and they close at 5:45! The best time of the day they close everything! And you spend most of the little time you have inside waiting in lines. Other waterparks in Europe close at 9 or 10 in the summertime (some slides can be closed earlier, but not access to the pools).
Worth it as a first experience, but probably won't come back too soon.

It is a water park located just 30 minutes away from Barcelona by bus. It boasts a wide range of slides and games suitable for both children and adults.
There are many people present, and although you don't bump into people, some slides have extensive queues throughout the entire day, so you might not be able to enjoy all the slides.
There are various dining options available in the park that cater to those who need gluten-free food. Additionally, visitors can make use of designated areas for barbecuing, shaded spots, and lockers for storage.
Recommended going.

Nice friendly staff who tried speaking English when they heard someone speaking Spanish with an accent. Not very long lines. A couple cautions: many steep hot slippery walkways, while sandles cannot be worn on the slides some type of foot protection is advised. The system of carrying the floats up the hill should be redesigned--at the very least do not require the guests to climb stairs to retrieve the float and then carry it down the wet steps. This is dangerous and easily fixed. We went for the afternoon session, 4 hours was enough. Parking was good and free.

Spent €100 for entrance which was fine. But the place is dirty and reminded my of swimming in sewage of Bombay that you watch j in documentaries. Extremely terrible. Dirty water. Fungal and skin diseases guaranteed.

The Illa Fantasia Water Park was the site for 36 hour long music, pool time, and amusement park activities which was part of the Barcelona Circuit Festival 2023. At the end of the day, the remaining few thousand attendees were guided into a small arena where disc jockeys entertained the crowd, who got carried away with the sensual ambiance, so they were lots of small groups going at it until dawn.

I wasn't there to enjoy Water attraction but for best party of my life and I loved this place even if I wish the restrooms are better and clock rooms more modern. But vibe of the place amazing! Go and have fun!

Favorite water park ever - it’s HUGE! This beats Wet and Wild by farrrrr. Delicious food, reasonable prices, lockers available, fun rides and lots of seating.

Overall, ok. Lots of people but also lots of space. Good picnic area, a good variety of water slides, but it would be ideal if they had more slides for younger children/under 5 year old. The taking of pictures by staff was a bit much, but overall, I ended up buying some nice photos to take home.

It is really slippery, so be extra careful. Use a lot of sunscrean. Locals bring lunch with them and occupy tables in the pine forest as soon as they come. But burgers a good too snd cost up to 14 for a menue with huge burger, chips and a drink.
The slides are plenty and fun. Queues are the same in any water park this time of a year

Booked online, arrived at opening time. Very quiet; no waiting around (although it was a Monday morning but still in school holiday times). Lots of slides and pools to keep busy, generally very tidy and clean. Water is a bit cooler than we're used to, but it was nice and refreshing and not uncomfortable.
The only slight issue was for some reason the shuttle bus isn't free for this season but I didn't notice that until I had already got on! Food was good and reasonably priced, would definitely recommend especially if you have children
Rachel Tomsett — Google review
It's OK, especially for kids. However drinks and food are expensive once in. Place could do with a lick of paint, but this doesn't detract for the experience from children. Best to do as separates away from organised day trips.

Not too bad but I wouldn't see it visiting on daily basis. I thought there are more attractions but there aren't. Only one attractions with inflatable rings but the wait was for me beyond doable. Artificial waves pool runs every 30 minutes but there is 2 hours no waves between 1pm to 3pm for some reasons. Really nice is to be able to bring your own picnic in a cool box of up to 40 liters and there are enough tables under canopies to enjoy the shade. For me what is offered seems the price tag rather high. Recommended are shoes because the concrete and tiles between pools are very hot and rough. For very little kids there is a great water tower to explore, my kids had fun therr and I just tagged along. Snack prices and ice cream prices are high as expected. I just expected to see more (art and sculptures or fountains and also to do more without so many queues everywhere.

I am here today, and eat burger in the park, this burger shop is rubbish, the staff is rude, local people ask for the plastic bag which they give, but tourists ask they said NO, we don’t have any plastic bag, what’s the sucks of this service? And the burger is cold beef, really bad, don’t buy it
