The Pyramidenkogel Tower is a popular attraction in Klagenfurt that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and Lake Worthersee. It features an observation deck, as well as a covered slide that provides visitors with a thrilling experience. The road leading up to the tower can be challenging for inexperienced drivers due to its steep and twisting nature. The parking lot is free and spacious, while the building's entrance is well-maintained.
Cool place. Road going up is fun, although might be challenging for novice drivers considering how steep and twisty it is in places. Parking lot is free, and large. Entrance to the building is very well maintained and the views from the top are brilliant. The slide from the top is well worth the 4 euros!

Spectacular views. Fair price as well and an awesome slide down. But wouldn’t recommend for someone who is afraid of heights as the tower does feel like it sways in the wind…a bit disconcerting
Thomas Coetzee — Google review
Very nice view from the top. 16 eur entrance fee for adults. It really worth the experience. You can come down by slide (150 meters, about 20 seconds sliding time), which cost extra 5 Eur.
xd Barny — Google review
Great view from the top, if you pay extra you can go down with the slide.
You can also walk up...
Very nice souvenir shop at the ground floor.

Great place to visit in Klagenfurt, from this tower you have a panoramic view on the city and the lake of Wörthersee, you can experience the slide from the 8th floor of the tower, the ticket costs for the student is 10 euro +4 euro for the slide if you would like to try it
aburashid aljabri — Google review
A nice attraction from which you can admire the beautiful surroundings in good weather.
The price is relatively high, but at least you can get a discount for students, for example.
The slide was unfortunately not in operation but would have cost more money.
The souvenirs were unfortunately also very overpriced.
Otherwise, you can sit down in the restaurant and have a good meal at the end.

beautiful architectural design in itself! sitting on top of a steep hill climb. i have been to many "observation" tower/platform from the Eiffel tower, to the top of st. peter's basilica, to Jinmao tower in Pudong, what i appreciated most about the Pyramid is that there are multiple decks and none of them is completely enclosed in with glass panels or fences (would be kind of unimaginable in the US due to the risk of massive lawsuit in case of someone jumping off! 🙄😁) therefore, not only do you have an unobstructed panorama view of the lakes, the alps, the meadows and villages, you also can feel the breeze and fresh air. to my surprise, there is an slide with which you can opt to slide back down. but in order to get more of this breathtaking view and get more fresh air, we opted to walk down the stairs ... unlike many staircases i had climbed before, this one is wide and with very easy steps to negotiate. there are even benches in the middle floors where you can stop and look out again. i was very impressed with architecture itself and many details incorporated to offer convenience and comfort to the visitors. a must stop if you happen to be in the area.

Beautiful place for everyone doesn't matter how old you are .
We have attended the tower when the lift was broken, so several hundreds of steps must go up :-)
If you are interested you can go down by mega long slide on carpet
Daniel Kudrik — Google review
Very nice and interesting place, almost 100 meter high. There are two options to go on top, by elevator or by staircase. We go by foot and at half way you must beat fear by adrenaline rush. My wife give me some brawery to suceed. Thnx love ♥️
Ivan Rusnjak — Google review
Nice platform to see the whole area. Breathtaking views! Buy combo ticket if you want to visit Minimundo or take a boat trip. It is better then the discount offered by Woerthersee card
Roxana D — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking view and simply a must if you’re visiting Klagenfurt. For those who still like to indulge their inner child every so often and enjoy a bit of adrenaline - you should definitely take the long slide on your way down!
Emily — Google review
Not for the people that are scared of heights. Perfect landmark for adrenaline junkie, specially part with slide. If you are not elevator person you can walk with stairs to top/bottom. Great view from top (at least i heard i was too scared to go), dogs are allowed only with muzzles.
Petar Pecanic — Google review
Great experience, a great view of the wortersee. Highly recommend for the whole family.
Petra G — Google review
We walked from the parking place on a pretty difficult route to the tower (route nr 27, ~4.5km, 2.5h). It was beautiful and fun, for the children too. The elevator was not working in the tower, but 'walking is the best medicine', so with a couple of hundred steps we reached the top.:) The view from the top is amazing. You can see the Wörthersee, the Alps and more. If you decide to walk to the tower, then be aware of that the last bus comes at ~18:15. We missed it.:D
MF Gugli — Google review
We went to the tower during the week and it was cold and a bit rainy. The family had breakfast in the restaurant which seemed a bit pricey for what we got. The slide was closed that day which was disappointing but the views were great and it was nice exercise climbing up to the top.

Very nice viewing point. I recommend to go when there is no fog and nice weather. Normal entry 15€, student ticket 10€. There is a slide do go down the tower, it cost 4.5€.
There is a souvenir shop too.

You can go around the lake by car, bicycle, rollerblades or on foot. Or you can decide to visit the various towns and villages on the lake with the help of a tourist boat, which runs often enough to see quite a few towns in one day.

Beautiful lake !
A wonderful place to chill with family and friends.
There are many beaches, paid and free.
Food easily available in 'Strandbad'.
Parking can be a problem sometimes.
Sushma Kattimani — Google review
Beautiful place where you can enjoy a clean lake view with a walking track at one side. Lots of water sports activities and boat cruises are also available but only during summer. In winter everything stands still except 2-3 restaurants.
We visited in winter so we witnessed Very few tourists and an ample amount of locals walking on the track and too many senior citizens (old to very old) were there.
Santosh Shinde — Google review
Beautiful lake and the surrounding villages and towns.
SIMON PREPADNIK — Google review
Amazing place for swimming and water sports. Paid public beaches are also available with Sun Beds and Sun Shades. Swimming places are separated by depth, so a non-swimmer can also enjoy the freshness of water. Velden am Wörthersee is the closet train station to reach, just find a sunny day in the mid summer, rest will be served by the location.
AMIT SINGH — Google review
Lake town from fairytale! Amazing nature, beautiful old town buildings, hotels, restaurants, walking paths and lake views! Mini vacation or full vacation place its up to you. Breath fresh air, enjoy food and chill by the lake or take a boat and go see all places on the lake, its cheap to rent and its worth doing it. I stay only one day but next time im coming for more. Till then enjoy my photos. P.S imagine this place full of nice sports car and custom made ones:)
Heftig 27T — Google review
Brilliant I couldn't say a bad thing about the area, apart from the police, they was very strict on cars and would check papers or close the main car park in valden High Street meaning we had to park on the street and they went around putting parking fines
If your looking at the perfect place to go out in the mountains and explore nature or want to go to the lake to relax it is brilliant
jamster mtb — Google review
Wonderful place. Water was warm and clear.
Perfect for paddleboard, you can spend days wondering around the lake 😊.
There is not a lot of places were you can swim.
A lot of interesting places nearby.

Minimundus is an impressive theme park featuring scaled-down models of over 150 iconic world landmarks set in a lush park. The models are on a scale of 1:25 and the attention to detail is remarkable. Visitors can enjoy additional activities for children, pet-friendly areas, dining options, and a souvenir shop. The park offers free parking without any time limitations during this season.
Fantastic park, great miniatures. Really impressive. You need a few hours to take a good look in everything, enjoy, have fun. Additional activities for kids. Pet friendly. You have a restaurant inside and small souvenir shop. Toilets are clean and tidy. Parking is free for visitors, without time limitations in this period of the year.

Great place, huge park with many miniatures from all around the world. the most iconic constructions. if you can't visit all of them in person here you can see them in one place in huge details. spent here more than an hour and still did not manage to see them all. great place also with small kids. some of them are moving or making noises. everywhere are small trains passing thru or ships. there is also an inside part which is not less interesting or can be used for times when weather is not as good. you can pay by card. souvenir shop included. there is also a coffee shop for a quick bite. highly recommend

The park is great! it has over 160 models of well known attractions. There is stuff to do, not just look at the models. There is a playground for children if they get bored. The park is well cleaned, there wasn't any trash on the ground. I recommend it, great place for children, a great place to spend a day in.

Beautiful place. we will definitely come here again when we have children :) we spent a nice 2/3 hours here + they have delicious ice cream. I recommend visiting, great place for children and dates
Stankaaa — Google review
The exebition with the buildings are great (but the entrance is expensive, no family ticket). The children also loved it, especially the working railroads and trains. And the reason for the 1 star is: the restaurant. It ruined the experience. Very overpriced, the food is bad, it's a rip off (small portions, with barely any sides, deep frozen, chewy meat, it was water with sirup instead of cola,...) and smoking is allowed, although there are many children in the park and in the restaurant too. So, if you visit the park, eat your dinner elsewhere.
MF Gugli — Google review
This was an amazing experience for the family. Highly recommended. We learned so much about the major landmarks across the world but also a lot more about Austrian architecture and history. The replicas are so impressive. Enjoyed the space shuttle launch. The 4D movie was ok, but not amazing.

A nice, tidy and clean place to get to know Italy in miniature. Everything is clean, the models are very neat, detailed and beautifully done, the environment around them is faithful with real miniature trees, the water surface is clean. Traveling by boat through Venice in a scale of 1:5 is also a nice experience. In addition to main Italy miniature and Venice, there is a lot of additional content. The only problem is that there is no shade during the tour of the miniatures, and on the day of our visit it was too hot

There is an entrance fee of €7 per car. This area is very beautiful and perfect if you love hiking, as there is alot of hiking trails. Upon entry you get handed a brochure with information about the area. At the very end of the valley you will find the Rinka waterfall, which is a 15 minute walk from the nearest parkinglot. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing valley with a breathtaken landscape. There is a nice path that starts at the beginning and leads to the Rinks waterfall. It is 7km long (one way), however it is possible to park at each of the parkings along the way and walk only a part of it. In each parking there is a nice resturant.

A beautiful and serene area which you can do by foot or bike. You may also drive in for a fee of 7 euros as of 18-06-2023.
There's a beautiful waterfall and several ways to enjoy the locale. You can purchase locally farmed products and hike in the pretty surroundings.
It was worth our visit and the waterfall was a simple and quick hike from the parking (after driving the full 7.3km road in the valley).
Dominique de Kort — Google review
Very beautiful valley just across the border from Austria. To best experience the valley, park your car at the hotel near the entry gate of the valley (€7 admission fee for cars) and then walk the trail to the waterfall. Along the way are multiple opportunities for a quick bite (local specialties) and drinks. The trail ends at the waterfall which is beautiful but also the most touristic area of the valley. This is also the starting point of various hikes. Trail itself is flat and easy took us 2,5 hours roundtrip.
Perched on a rocky outcrop in the heart of a picturesque plain, Hochosterwitz Castle is a medieval marvel with a history dating back over 1,000 years. This imposing fortress boasts 14 defensive gates and offers panoramic views of Slovenia and East Austria from its elevated position. The castle's walls and crenellations wind their way up the mount, leading to the formidable fortress at its summit.
An old place to spent some time. Interesting place, from bottom to the top you can walk for 20-25 minutes or you can take the panoramic elevator. The cost for this is 9 euro two way ticket. There is also the possibility to buy only one way from top to the base.

Great castle and great view! It is really beautiful, up in the castle is a Cafe, there is also a lift, but I think you have to pay for it. It is a nice walk up to the castle. I recommend! Also? There is a nice souvenir shop. :)

It's a nice fort/castle IF you are near here. I have been to a lot of castles and this one was interesting because of the way it was set-up for fortifications.
Lifts were down but we didn't mind.
Mahdi Dehghan — Google review
The castle is awesome but I do wish they had more English descriptions in the museum at the top. It felt like the focus is more on the restaurant and the museum is just a side thing.
The 14 gates leading up to the castle are very cool too, but same issue with the lack of English descriptions. And I wish we could go inside the towers to see the things they have in there.
Nikodem Lokatelj — Google review
This castle is just sublime. If you are in the region you definitely need to go visit it. If you can: go up by foot, the way up is really beautiful and an important part of the experience. We went during the afternoon and we were almost alone.
Fabian Callejon — Google review
Well worth the visit. The climb up is ok, but if you're a sedentary person you're better off taking the elevator up. You can walk down, it's a short walk and you get to see all the gatehouses.
If you walk up instead of taking the elevator you can basically visit everything for free.
There's a really nice museum, lots of armor and weapons.
The restaurant upstairs looks to serve good food. Didn't eat anything, but what others were being served looked great.
Octav Iosif — Google review
A very interesting fortress, which did not have its own permanent garrison, but was built purely to protect the population of the surrounding villages in case of any threat. There is a museum inside, but photography is not allowed. Entrance costs 17 euros if you will walk up. If you want to use the elevator, then an additional 10 euros you are to pay. There is a cafe with a tasty menu and reasonable prices in the courtyard of the fortress. The fortress deserves your kind attention
Oleksandr Protsenko — Google review
Amazing castle! Very well preserved in the unchanged condition, which is a rare thing. Totally worth a longer visit. A walk to the top is much better than the lift for those who can. Otherwise you miss a lot of beautiful sights and gates.

The 2nd time during summer, weekend this time, I visited the castle and I really enjoyed it and loved it! It's worth visiting but by car or bike. The station is nearby but by feet you will feel exhausted. 😅 I also liked the restaurant that there's in the castle but I would suggest it for a drink rather than food. The castle was great though! Have fun, enjoy and have a power bank with you because you will take a lot of pictures to remember! ❤️

The castle is amazing place even from afar. Unfortunately our arrival date the castle was closed, because before 1 day was a huge storm in Austria and the electricity didn't work in the castle. For us it wasn't a problem, but the castle was not open on that day. Next time we will go inside if it's allowed. We're waiting for the opportunity. I upload some closer and further view of the castle, it's worth to visit, it's beautiful.

Very nice castle, well maintained, unfortunately not much of the inside is accessible to the public. Entrance fee is 17€ + another 10 uf you want to take the elevator up. Otherwise its a 1km long walk up a medium incline to get up to the castle.

Such a lovely castle to visit, giving hundreds of sceneries for great photos and kids loved it. Would be nice if there was a musician in the yard to play some ancient music (hurdy-gurdy etc?), surely for the price of the tickets the Khevenhüller family can afford someone at least on the busier days?

The most terrible experience that I've ever had. I tried with family and two little children spent some time sitting near the lake and enjoy the view. But, you can do it only sitting on a benches near the road on distance more than 400m. All area's, that I found, near the lake was covered by three-meter fence with turnstiles, other part with barbed wire. Didn't found place to walk near the lake, and touristic map shows only parking and resting places after the fence. Maybe this place is suitable for a sunbathing and swimming on that special payable areas after three-meter fence. Only it was not my case.

Very clean, clear and warm lake with a pretty view. Although the area around the lake is very touristic, it’s a cute place with many good restaurants and plenty of possibilities for activities nearby. There are many private hotel-owned beaches and some public bathing beaches. In the south of the lake there’s a little area where you can swim without the need to enter a public bathing beach (don’t expect a lawn for sunbathing though, it’s next to a street for pedestrians) Many hotels provide stand-up paddle boards and various boats. The place is also suitable for biking. [stayed 1 night]

Amazing experience with a very friendly tour guide who explained us the details of the ongoing process of building a castle in the old ways. I hope we can come back in 10 years to see the progress! Totally worthwhile.

We were there on a quiet Saturday. Our tour group consisted of only four people which resulted in a very personal experience.
Because your visiting a working construction site it's not possible to wander of on your own, a tour is mandatory.
It was amazing to see the hard work of the people working on creating this castle. It's a unique way to see history and craftsmanship in action.

This is a really great opportunity to learn quite a bit about what life was like in the middle ages, at least as a worker building a castle. They are actually building one with authentic tools and methods! The tour was very good, all in German.
Douglas Fields — Google review
In the advertising folders it looks completely different. I thought you were going to the castle and then you can learn something about the Middle Ages ON the caste. But thats not the case. First you have to do some sort of workshops in the valley, which is mostly made for children and the you go with a group to the castle for a short tour through the castle. I was really expecting to explore the castle on my own, and that this workshops were optional. So please keep this in mind, the advertising folders really tell you something different. For people with children this could be a really nice trip.
Visited the Coal Mining Museum, I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy it, but I did! Once you get your tickets, your guide will tell u to get a locker and out all your belongings inside. Your bags, purses and phones. Once that is done, you’ll be asked to put on a mining jacket and a hard hat. They also give you a hotdog and juice to eat as a break. Each piece of food goes goes in each pocket. An elevator takes u down and that’s when the tour begins. Lots of walking, story telling from our guide. No pictures are allowed in the mining tour. I actually loved it. It’s so different! It’s a must see.

Must visit site when You are in Velenje area. 👌I visited some mining museums but this is totally unique experience. Guide was former miner so the interpretation was personal. Museum is part of the still running coal mining company. Do not eat before entering museum. They have very nice surprise for You. 👌

Absolutely amazing place to go! The tour was really extraordinary and I'm happy for being part of the coal miners team for a moment. It's definetely a must see place in Velenje! And nearby is the beautiful lake, so be sure you jump there too.

A superb experience worth a visit!
When you arrive, the group first gathers on benches in one room. We visited with a travel agency, so it may be a little different from individual arrivals.
After dividing into two smaller groups (about 20 people), we went to another room. In that room, we had to leave all our things, especially cell phones, in lockers. It is forbidden to bring mobile phones into the mine. Each locker has a key and is locked.
After leaving our belongings, we had to put on clothes (work jackets) and get helmets. After that, the guide knocked on the kitchen door. It was opened by a woman who gave us all a packed meal (pastry, Kranj sausage and juice).
When we were ready, we went to the elevator. A very old and interesting lift that is a real thrill. There is no light, only one flashlight. The descent speed reaches (if I remember correctly) 4 meters per second.
After arriving at a depth of approx. 130 m, first go to a room where a short film is watched. At the end of the film, you go on a "historical walk through the mine". A long, dark corridor with a "station" every few meters. A soft light illuminates the path you walk on. At each station, a certain scene is shown for a few minutes. You can see and hear how workers used to dig, what they ate, what their working conditions were like, and more. A special emotion is left by the station where it is shown how the mining accident turned out. It is not for everyone as they may panic. It is very loud and they agreed that the floor is shaking.
After the historical work, there will be free time for the meal that we got on the surface. The atmosphere is calmer because everything you have seen and heard hits you.
After the meal, a short walk through the modern part of the mine continues. Another film about the current mine and modernization is also being watched.
At the end of the movie, we go to the small train (small and iron) that takes us to the elevator. Return by exciting lift after 1.5 hours.
The experience is superb! The price is €20 per person, but we got a discount because of the group, so it turned out to be €18 per person.

The tour guide was relatively normal before we entered the mines and then rude, aggressive and verbally abusive when we were underground, and was extremely inconvenient for us to exit without his help.
If you like getting yelled at in a place with no escape, I recommend visiting.

Really beautiful place where the animals are kept in great conditions and can be spotted easily.
One of the gates on the hiking way was locked so we called the number on brochure and within a few minutes, the staff came to open it. It wasn't closing time yet so it should not have been locked so early but appreciate the help.

Lovely mountainous zoo with Alpine animals plus a few 'mountain residents' from further away (polar wolf, yak etc), which is intermingled with a small but fine adventure park for kids. Good quality entertainment for kids, and good value for money (incl slides, a climbing house - a real one! - with an area to jump into real hay, water splash boats, mountain go-cart, etc). Plan in the better part of a day. Professional animal feeding takes place as well as birds of prey flying show. Very friendly, too.

A cable car with a stunning view, about 20 minutes up to the top. You can spend 3 hours having fun here. Located right in the middle of the road from Vienna to Falchau.

I really like this place, first the view it's amazing , they take you to the top of a mountain and you can see all!! They are a lot of animals there and also a lot of free playgrounds that are so fun, the food it's also delicious in the restaurant and the show of birds was a good experiences, you can be so close of animals and also it feels secure
I recommend at the exit going down with the cars , its so fun but kind of dangerous I will recommend it only for 13+ years bc you can go very fast and you need some skill (you can go slow using the breaks also)

A very beautiful place full of mountain animals. You can choose your way up to the park. There is a cable car and a bus that will take you to a wonderful and slightly chilly altitude of cca. 1000 m in Austrian Alps, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. You can see bears, wolves, lynxes etc. from a very short distance and yet the animals have plenty of space. There is a fun playground with quite a long slide and a play park (spiepark) full of various attractions, some of which require extra fee. You have five options of going back down. You can go by bus, cable car, in a pedal cart, on a sledge or on foot. All of these options offer great experiences. Great place for a family trip.
The Old Vine House is a must-visit destination in Celje, Slovenia, where you can indulge in a glass of wine from the world's oldest living vine. This remarkable plant has been producing grapes for over 400 years and it is located near the Hungarian border. Aside from tasting some great wines, visitors are also encouraged to explore the charming old town of Maribor which is within close proximity to the Old Vine House.
We visited spontaniously this place in Maribor on our way bay home to Hungary. It is amazing to know that the world’s oldest living vine is about 400 years old and it is in Slovenia very close to the Hungarian border. We took part in a small wine-tasting session, too. It was an excellent program. I advise you to discover the old town of Maribor. It is super cozy and cute to take a walk there. And the Old Vine House is also very close to the city centre.

Excellent local wine with a wide variety of choices and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. I highly recommend! While you can’t drink wine made directly from the world’s oldest grapevine, you can drink and buy wine from the descendant vines.

Must see if you travel in Maribor. Oldest vineyard tree in the world. Wine is excellent and prices are not very high. A bottle of excellent wine from Slovenia is a great souvenir to take home. There is also a nice view on the river outside the House. I reccomend it to take time there and enjoy a glass of excellent wine outside. Personal is very friendly and they will advise you about the wine. You can also try all wines before you buy.

Came to Maribor on our return trip and stopped here thinking you can drink wine from the oldest grape vine in the world. Get here to be told it is reserved only for special gifting from the mayor to people such as the president, not for the common folk. There is a small chapel at the top of this hill, you can see it as you go up.. The path to the top is winding which makes it easy to climb without losing your breath. You pass some tiny vineyards on your way, and most of the way there is no tree cover for shade. I counted 2, and I stopped at the last tree as it was super hot.. but wherever I reached the view was amazing and extraordinary.. would have been really nice if they added some benches for people to sit and breath the air and enjoy the moment! the view is nice and you'll probably have this place to yourself, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet. Cars and bikes are not allowed, so it’s a walking distance.. if you walk all the way from the town, there’s no sidewalk on the street so.. stay safe!

A very interesting place, the buildings were originally installed and evoked the life of that era. Very nice to walk. The museum floor is also interesting. In the "village" you have a restaurant where smoking is not allowed, not even in the garden. You are not allowed to smoke in the entire village. Next to the restaurant there is a small corner where smokers can hide and light a cigarette. I wasn't in the restaurant.

This is a huge open air museum where you can visit typical Austrian houses including an 18th century shop (with the counter and the shop assistant serving you) - and a few things are for sale for real-, a school, stables, barns and farms, and a lot of old objects and furnishing. The walk develops far into a little valley in the nature and a good visit will take quite a few hours. We enjoyed the visit very much. Take your picnic because there is only a restaurant at the entrance.

Very beautiful park with historical houses on display from all over Austria. This calm place gives you a wonderful glance back into a simpler, yet harder past. Almost no distractions from modern times give you beautiful immersion into the surroundings - unless you meet a cheerful school class, of course. The restaurant at the center offers very friendly service and delicious Apfelstrudel. Altogether a wonderful, down-to-earth and friendly place to learn and relax.

Lovely place and wonderfully done. S impressive houses and always something u can explore. i wogld have wished to see more of how people at that time worked and lived. Shown by real people and showcasing it but oh well. The? ids had stuff to do and that was good! there is unfortunately few guided tours during the week and there is the app which is very helpful but it keeps breaking down the whole time not helpful. Also as there is no reception there u cant even f out more on the internet. i would also recommend to have another restaurant or something there as in the park it gets very crowded there around lunch time. But it food was really tasty. Loved the lemonades they had awell. Buchteln i wouldn't recommend. Tasted a bit strange. anyways. Good to go back into history like that!

Spring 2022: Nice family activity. Entrance fee includes all attractions, which run at certain times (like 2 runs every 30 min; look at the timetable sheets). No queues here. Every attraction can easily be used in a day including the climbing park. Restaurant is okay, menu is kept simple and child-friendly. We came to check out the Styrassic Night Lightshow, was nice. A few motion activated effects, some uniqe dinosaurs and great scenery. The infoplates on dinosaurs are updated to latest scientific discoveries or understandings. The Christkindlmarkt was also nice, good Glühwein and Sausages.

Styrassic Park or: why the dinosaurs became extinct
Dinosaurs: The quality of the dinosaurs varies greatly. Some specimens are great (Argentinosaurus, Carnotaurus), most average or below. Many eyes look completely the same, the painting is partly elaborate (Dipolocus), but seems loveless in many others to the degree where some models seem to have died a second time. All models are behind fences, you are unable to touch the models. Some models deviate strongly from the usual representations. For example, the skeleton of the T-Rex is terrific, the "live model" is more reminiscent of a Gorgosaurus, since the typical neck and eye area are missing. The "Jumpscare" seems to be more likely something from a bankrupt amusement park than an actual reference to a T-Rex. However, the soundfiles from Jurassic Park are being used (if license fees are paid is unknown though). Some of the dinosaur encounters are very far-fetched (for example Parasaurolophus vs. Deinonychus). In addition, the information boards are very short and lack scientific information for the most part (but available in four languages).
The partly spoken texts, that can be found in some scenarios, seem to have been recorded by amateurs, which makes the partly scientifically refuted theses paired with attempted flat jokes (for example, that the Brachiosaurus was "lazy" and therefore ate stones for digestion) rather unintentionally funny. The figures of the Cenozoic on the other hand are all very modest in quality at best. For example, the Saber-tooth looks more like an exaggerated Disney parody than a realistic replica. This is even more true for the evolution of humans, which look more like naive nativity scenes than scientific replicas.
Gastronomy: If you want to eat something in Styrassic Park you have to be prepared for a gauntlet, otherwise your extinction is guaranteed. Food and drinks are to be ordered via terminals. Their use is explained via asynchronously played videos exclusively in German in endless loop (here, too, the dubbing actors and the script seem to be on amateur level at best). The quality of the food is manageable. Due to the absurd time system, vegetarian options are missing most of the time.
Price: The entrance fees are quite steep. Advertising says that all attractions are included, but at every corner and end there is something to pay for. The "special performances" are also over quickly. If you arrive late (as we did) the opportunity to participate in all stations is lacking in that short time. But what weighs most heavily is that the actual dinosaur tour is over after a good hour (including listening to all texts and reading all panels and the occasional selfie). Admittedly, I have spent more than 15 euros for an hour of good entertainment, the quality of the dinosaurs in Styrassic Park is however too inferior to justify this price.
Anecdote (Golden Raspberry of customer friendliness): Due to the restrictive time corset we started our food order before 16:15, however the payment system was on strike. Before I could finalize, a gentleman (apparently the owner) came to my monitor and cancelled my order. The new order was refused as 16:15 had passed. As all pleas fell to deaf ears, my remark that I would note this in my evaluation led to very helpless "Get lost, I don't need such customers" retort. A refund was refused though, rendering the statement as wrong as some panels.
Overall impression: At every turn, personal contact seems to be avoided and profit maximization is uncomfortably at the forefront. The main actors - the dinosaurs - unfortunately fade into the background.
Yet it would be so simple: more profound knowledge, more attention to detail of the models would remedy this shortcoming. A distribution on larger enclosures, which invite to extended walks instead of densely and partly lovelessly staggered models would justify the designation as "park" - so Styrassic Park is rather a Styrassic kennel.
If you have a whole day to spare, are enthusiastic about climbing and bring your own food you may give this adventure a chance.

This is our third dinosaur theme park visit. We also visited the dinosaur park in Slovenia and Croatia.
This park has the advantage of also offering an adventure climbing park (equipment and use included in the price of admission).
Rides on the train and carousel are also included in the admission price, with the exception of a few minor things that need to be paid for (mostly €2)
The price of food is a little more expensive than in Vienna.

Alex Stoklas — Google review
The animal park is extremely well organized and clean, the animals and the surroundings are wonderfully taken care of. Despite a full parking lot, the crowd in the park is not noticeable, because the park itself is huge. You need 3-4 hours to visit the animal park at a somewhat normal pace (additional time for the castle, garden...). There are many activities for children in the park itself. The entire park is accessible by wheelchair.
Matic Goj?i? — Google review
Tierwelt Herberstein is an absolute gem in an already beautiful landscape. The animal park has a wide variety of animals in wide, open enclosures that seem to be very fitting to the animals inside them, providing then with a lot of room to roam about. You can find anything from lions to cheetahs and even arctic wolves here. The entrance fee is pretty fair, considering the high quality of the park.
It pays off to wear good shoes. Some of the paths are a bit rugged and some slopes are steep. It might be difficult for people in wheelchairs to get everywhere, but it seems like people still manage regardless.
The animal park is adjacent to a castle, which can also be viewed. Some parts of the park provide beautiful, scenic views over the lush landscape.
I highly recommend visiting during summer, while everything is green. Walking the whole round tour of the park almost feels a bit like hiking then.

Very nice place for a family to spend the day. The zoo is nice and large and animal enclosures are big and interesting. The castle is also worth seeing and taking a guided tour. A big shout out and thanks to the castle guide who makes the tour interesting and speaks many languages. There are also many toilets available which is also a plus for an area this big. One star less is the fact that they charge you entrance fee and some things could also be included in the price - like the bus ride. It was also interesting that as the closing time approached almost all the animals went out of sight. But overall a recommended place to see.

Wonderful! 🤩 It's like a dream, cosy, warm, modernly odd, architectural unique and people were nice.
I already have been so some Therme's in Austria, but this one is deserved on the 1. Place in the comparison lists!
Price: expensive! 😶 1100,- for a weekend with steak, wine and some extras.
Worth it: totally! 😁
Water: hot and slightly salty 🥰
For so many people it didn't seem crowded or full (only at breakfast you really saw how many people there were).
Sometimes a waiter or employee wasn't that friendly and nice, but all in all staff was helping, greeting and smiling at you.
Arrival/departure: by train. They pick u up at the train station (just ring the "doorbell" at the train station in bad blumau) and they'll come.
All in all: superb experience!!! 😍😁🥵🏊♂️

Beautiful spa with great service (though it seems great service is an Austrian thing as everywhere I go I get great service). Lovely sauna selection, be warned you are expected to be naked in the sauna. Everywhere was clean too. I would like to see nicer changing rooms where women can do their make up and apply lotion etc in private but they only seemed to have mixed gender changing rooms that weren’t so comfortable but other than that it was a great experience and the day pass is very good value

I love this place. It’s magical. At the entrance you will be greeted by cows grazing on the meadows surrounded by apple trees. Did I mention that you can pick the apples right off the tress and take a tasty bite. Everything is incredibly clean. Stay for the night, there is a real life volcano show. There is a bar outside where you can take sips of cocktails prepared with ultimate care while you relax in the jacuzzi. The architecture is splendid.

An overall mediocre experience for the price they charge. We have been here for a weekend and nothing much felt extraordinary.
The building is a Hundertwasser Haus so everything is round colourful, etc. The general vibe is very relaxing as it should be for a spa hotel.
They have many different pools with different degrees and different waters. They have public whirlpools, wave pools, hot spring pools. In each area are many different loungers. They also have a special lounger "Kuschelliege". Those need to be reserved the day before. While the look very comfy, my wife and me did not enjoy them. Sadly there are no private whirlpools or anything like that.
Aside of the pools they have a huge amount of spa related offers: massage, aloe vera massage, pedicure, manicure, etc. However we did not try any since they are not included and we were not in the mood to pay 210 € for a couple massage with a bottle of water. They also have a salt room in which you chill and can breath salt air. This costs 18€ per person for 50 mins. It is very relaxing and helped me with my grass/pollen allergy.
Since the hotel/spa area is so big it can be hard to find your way around, they give you map though. Inside it's mostly very hot due too the indoor hot pools. Because of this most windows inside are open which is a struggle for people with allergies.
Our room was rather small in size. Toilet and shower are in the same room without any separation wall. We had an AC unit which worked perfectly fine. There is also a safe in the room. On check in we got a small chocolate and our bathrobes for the spa area. Towels are also provided. The room cleaning service was a bit disappointing. Tissues did not get refilled. Another problem with the room was that there was an annoying whistle, probably coming from the pipes.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable.
The area has a couple of different restaurants. During our stay the breakfast buffet and dinner buffet was included. The buffets have good variety, compared to other Austrian hotels, but it's still not comparable to other international hotels we have been to. The food overall is okay, but a bit too bland for me.
The service of the staff was really good, sadly there was this one waiter (a male waiter in a cafe when we enjoy live music) who was really rude when making mistake writing room number for our bill, pulling a chair carelessly, mannerless behaviour in general) so I will only give it 3 stars instead of 4.
When it comes to scenery there is nothing much there since it's in the middle of nowhere.
Overall it was okay for a weekend and for a one time experience.

Just look at it! It's incredible! A wonderland of art, grounds and water. Friendly staff, cocktails in the pool. Absolutely unique.

Unexpectedly reasonable price (2000€ for 2 people / 5 days in the busiest season) for how luxuriant the place is. Buffet Dinner is especially recommended. Brief walking tour is available if you're interested in the background of the place. Don't ignore the Saunas!

A place where you can relax and enjoy. The stay was ok but the highlight was definitely the hot water pools. It was very relaxing and wr really enjoyed it.
Food was a let down and the place is real expensive.
Overall highly recommended.

Visited the thermal bath last week and was shocked by the behaviour of the woman at the front desk. I was told that I need to come back at 5pm, then out of a sudden it was ok to purchase the day pass but the price kept changing 3 times. I honestly did not care about the extra cost, I just wanted to get to the pool I drove 2h for. Then the card reader didn't work and the lady started yelling at me that I did it all wrong. Not sure how this can be the customers fault, then it started working fine. From there on it turned from disrespectful behaviour into full blown harassment. I was told to not come again without a reservation, she would send me straight home next time. I kindly asked where the bathrobes are and again she yelled at me that she already told me and that and I need to start listening. I can provide the details via email if this place is interested but I request a full refund because I paid 49 EUR to relax and not to get harassed. If I am not refunded, I will contact my credit card provider because this literally destroyed my entire experience and purchase. I am not sure why I was faced with this behaviour, it might be because I am heavily tattooed or a foreigner or some other reason. But if I was the owner, I would take a look at the mental health of this particular staff member. Time of visit: October 14th at 4:15 pm. On the way out the staff changed to two younger and very nice women, which I actually met on an visit before. If I am refunded I am willing to change my review to the good experience I had on my first visit. But I am simply not tolerating the behaviour I had to endure.

We were coming to Blumau from a very far destination, we drove over 700km because our friends have advised us to visit the Therme. The pool and spa zone were actually quite good, however, one of the main highlights we were waiting for was the buffet dinner, as our friends have told us it’s the best they ever tried.
We were very excited to go and check it out, however, we were turned around by very rude staff that told us that they do not have any free places in the restaurant anymore. No apologies, no offers to wait a little or have a pre-drink before waiting for the table to get free (we were only 2 people!).
They were very rude and not customer friendly. We found that unacceptable, thus we will once and forever forget about the place and tell our friends to go to Mauerbach instead.

Perfect.
For over 10 years, I’m coming here again and again, every year, for 3-4 days. I haven’t found yet another place like this to have a relaxing time.
The spa is top, prepared at highest level, the water from the pools is very clear and clean, warm, all you need to feel good.
The food (breakfast and dinner) it’s more than you need, you have such a big variety to choose from, you cannot leave hungry from the restaurant.
The rooms are so beautiful and cosy, cleaned every day.
People are so nice and friendly.
Every single time is real pleasure to come here.
Keep up the good work, I see myself still coming after 10 more years.
Love it!

Just one of the best hotel and spa I’ve ever been! The architecture of the place is simply amazing and creates an atmosphere of calm and peacefullness. It is surely a work of art and being there is a wonderful oportunity. It is definitely a must when visiting Austria, even if you plan just one day at the spa! Enjoy!
Upmarket spa resort with heated indoor & outdoor pools, plus casual dining & free breakfast.
Very nice and cosy Spa with extra place for Hotel guests. Good for relaxing and sporty ambitions. Very friendly and helpful staff, good restaurant and bar.

Rating for thermal baths only:
As a bath, it's ok for a couple of hours, but it's definitely not a great destination spa. The thermal massage pool is its saving grace, because although there is an indoor/outdoor pool and a lap pool the facility doesn't really offer much else on pool selections. An aquatics class is offered occasionally, which is a nice addition. Ample parking, lockers and the facilities are fairly clean.
Bath reception staff needs some serious customer service training.
Having said that - now, you are forced to have an assigned chair, whether you want one or not and told "you can put your towels there - everyone HAS to have one". But don't be fooled, people will still steal your stuff out of your chair, so don't bother leaving anything laying around or using the chair to begin with if you don't want to. I've reviewed about fifty spas/thermal baths in the last months alone and not once was my towel stolen on an "unassigned chair", but not here, nope, have to have an assigned chair and people can't keep their hands to themselves anyway...
Sad, I'd heard good things about this place and was looking forward to it, but not worth it.

We came to this place that is in the middle of nowhere and we were not allowed to enter, because it was full. That was the only thing that the staff told us. They were not pleasant, did not provide us any information (for example: "you can wait in the restaurant until someone leaves, so you can enter") and did not want to speak with our group. We went 35 km to the different SPA center, where they treated us normal and we had a great time there. I do not recommend this place, as they do not treat guests like people, just like money bags.

I came here with my husband and friends because some Austrian friend recommended this therme as "the best one from Austria".
Is nice, but if I analize the hotel room , food, spa area and ambient, St.Martins is way better in my opinion.
The food here was not so wow and the aspect as well not like in the pics we saw on the reviews.
Was actually boring and not so tasty.
I had bigger expectations.

Vegan food was available on request. On the buffet it was not written what was vegan. It was unclear for a long time which bread was vegan and which not. Staff was not well informed about vegan food. Food was okay.
Balcony was nice. Spa was okay (not a great view). Picky people kicked out dressed sauna beginners.
Reservation of spa benches hardly works. An recommendation for 1st visitors would be fine.

It is a really nice Place with excellent pools and relax offerings. Amazing kitchen that really did am amazing job to care about our allergies. After the first day here we got already convinced to come back. But then came Friday evening and the Place got crowded with those coming for the weekend. The Service really got bad, the Buffet was not filled up, the Alternative Main dish from the Buffet looked terrible, tables did not get cleaned and everything was slow. Not worth a 4 Star superior Resort.
If we would have arrived Friday, would never come back. The quality of the kitchen really saved the day.
Bottom line, staying Monday to Friday can be recommend, but would not stay into the weekend or for the weekend.
I hope for them we just saw one bad Day and this is not the Standard weekend experience.

One of the thermal baths we are visiting frequently. Prices go up.. Currently including sauna 34,50€ is I remember correctly. The water is warm, warmer than in other thermal baths, that's what we like especially. Food is quite OK, we prefer to bring our own. Quality of the food isn't on a too high level. Good sized sauna area. Recommend the avita resort for a relaxing day
Calm locale featuring iconic waterfalls & hiking paths with bridges, plus themed learning stations.
Visited at late March, and even though it's still winter and the views are a little greyish it was great. Nice round trip walk with beautiful views.
Shirly Niego — Google review
Paying 5 euros entrance fee for this place is a scam
Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty and nicely build with bridges. But it’s just not worth it
It’s a single path track, you walk in one long line where the slowest person set the pace. It’s nearly impossible to stop up and enjoy the view
I recommend to enjoy the bottom part for free. And if you like walking, then take the road up 1km and enjoy the top part also for free. The 150 meters in the middle which you need to pay 5€ for is not worth it at all

Wonderful nature place to hike, with waterfalls, lakes, bridges, and plenty of raw forest to explore. We took the 90m route and really had a pleasant hike, however some parts are quite steep and slippery, we advice bringing proper gear. The tickets were 5€ per person, and the parking was free, so we intend to return for the 4h route!

A stunning waterfall system that stretches for 20 flights of narrow wooden steps that you can walk up to reach the summit.
When you reach the summit, you will find a nice meadow with a small area where children can play while parents relax with some well-deserved refreshments.

Beautiful nature, safe hiking roads, not too steep stairs and fresh air. Definitely go visit and plan for a picnic on the Upper Storage Lake (cca. 1h walk)
Kids loved it, parents too - word of advice: arrive early. If you are there by 9h30 you will have an enjoyable walk without too many crowds.

Very nice walk/hike... would definitely recommend to families with children as the area is super kids friendly. Walk up takes up to 40 minutes (without kids) along the river but you can also choose to walk through the forest, if you prefer...

A lovely place for a day hike. Even with kids it’s a delight!
Vince Granado — Google review
You get what is on the pictures, a lot to explore for kids, sound of water everywhere. Georgous landscape and countless pittoresque picture spots to polish your Instagram or just your family library. It was an amazing day, and a great possibility to create memories with the family. The food upstairs was really good (we took the beginner route).
Only downside, you are not alone, there are a lot of people up there.
Most people keep the dogs close or lined.
I can really recommend a daily trip, we have no hicking experience or equipment (even if I would recommend it, it is not required for the short track)
We will return for the other tracks for sure, there are a lot of guided parking slots (up to 10 min away from entrance).
The track is labeled as 45 min (one direction). In explorer mode (with kids) you can easily double the time.
Don't forget to take some water with you.
Nils M?ller — Google review
Peaceful series of waterfalls with wooden bridges and stairs built all along. There was a €5 (€1.5 for kids) entrance ticket that you need to keep to get through the gates and to get back. If you carry on a beautiful hill/peak is further up (Hausstein 664m). Waterfalls took about 15 mins and the hike about an extra 20mins (each way).

It is very beautiful and an amazing place to enjoy hiking with water and nature around. The sound of water is just magical and comfortable. The way from both sides is very beautiful. The air is full of humidity, and the colour of nature and stone makes it even more attractive and beautiful. We were on the weekend there . There were lots of people, we still enjoyed it but I would prefer to visit in on weekdays . We were with a car 🚗 there . It was very difficult to find a parking place . We waited for almost 20 minutes to find a free place. For the people with cars, I would also say to visit this place on weekdays. This place is amazing for a picnic, hiking, swimming and for kids is this place also lots of fun.

We came across this touristic landmark and enjoyed it! You have to pay 5 euros entrance per adult and 1,50 euros for kids. The path is marked, and there is a short and a longer more difficult version. It's family friendly, no real obstacles can leisurely walk longside the waterfall and river. Even with smaller children, halfway there is a restaurant and a playground, just take your time and enjoy!

Beautiful place for hiking close to Vienna. The most impressive waterfalls require a ticket to see as you need to use a wooden stairs / platforms to reach them (and maintenance costs), however the surrounding smaller ones are free to see.
Definitely not a place for people in the wheelchair.
There is 3 or 4 separate free parking places so it should be easy to find a place to park.
There is a toilet near the entrance and a restaurant.
Polished, Asian-themed lodging offering chic rooms & suites, plus fine dining, 8 pools & a spa.
Nice Spa where Kids are not allowed. Great address for couples. Restaurant has either heavy food like burgers or Asian and vegetarian. Sauna is included. Afternoon ticket from 4pm until 10-11pm closing time.

In short: bad quality of food in all restaurants; the public thermal area is too small and full; hotel + thermal area overpriced; EUR 1500 for a weekend are better and properly spent if you drive just a bit more and go to Reiters Supreme where you will pay this amount for a 5 star hotel, excellent food and most importantly- thermal area with many more pools and saunas only for hotel guests.
The Asia Linsberg hotel itself is ok, nothing special. The rooms are big and clean. The hotel’s ways around and between hotel and thermal area are very illogically structured. The hotel own wellness area closes at 7pm and has 2 small saunas and 2 whirlpools- that's it. The food and the dining concept are a disaster- seldom have I had such bad food for this amount of money. Additionally, everything is quite dirty. To add to that- they start taking everything away 30mins before the end of the breakfast time- absolutely unacceptable. And because all of this is not enough for the worse experience ever- I felt personally offended by the receptionist who used sexist and homophobic language and made inappropriate comments and did not even have the decency to excuse himself.
It wouldn't hurt as much to lose EUR 1500 on the street as it hurts to spend it in Asia Linsberg!

Nice spa, but I think they could benefit from using a service designer or a team of service designers to really look at the complete experience when visiting this spa. They have a lot to improve.
To me, the different parts of the spa are so disconnected. Not only by where they are located, but also what do they offer - e.g. in the nude sauna area, you can find good storage options for your items and soap, while in the main dressing room there is none of this.
The interior is also very outdated - cheap green color in many parts of the interior, giving it a 'discount center' feeling, plus old dirty pillows on the cheapest outdoor furniture in the spa treatments waiting area.
They also let people smoke outside in the sauna area so the smoke spreads to you when you are swimming or enjoying a sauna - yikes.
Laura Liivo — Google review
The bedrooms are really disappointing for the price of it, but still ok.
The pools are really nice, several different places to relax.
The massage was a pure shame, 90€ for the massage, we were two in the same room, ordered the same massage, but had a complete different massage that had nothing to see with what we ordered.
The persons doing the massage were really unmotivated and delivered a mediocre performance, and in bonus stopped the massage 5 minutes earlier.
All the food that is from the buffet was really medium.
But the main courses that you need to order were really good and high quality !
In the overall we had a good time because we were offered this night in the hotel spa.
But to be honest i would have been quite frustrated if i payed that much money for that.
Didn't go inside, just visited to the courtyard. However it's one of the main sites in town. Worth a visit probably. The courtyard has a small cafe with drinks and seating area.

Love this place!
I love museums anyways...
This one is a lot of reading and tabloids on the wall with history in a fairly small but old castle. There are some quirky bits, like the lookout tower (I have vertigo, so only the hubby went up there with the older kids), rung the tower bell. If you go, although it costs a bit extra, it is worth watching the 3D movie about Hungarian history. For tourists it gives a really good summary, for Hungarians it is a cool short film to remind one of the school taught facts and stories. The best time to visit is the beginning of August, when there is a historical fair in the whole of the city centre, called Ostromnapok. It lasts the whole weekend and you can time travel back into the Middle Ages - eat the food, listen to the music, play the medival games or witness the re-enacting of the Hungarian-Turkish fights of 1500s with lots of soldiers and even cannon shots, the castle being the centre of attention. You can also buy memorabilia in this Mediterranean feel gem of a place.

You can learn about history and have fun - medieval style clothing is available to try. Good fun with kids. Also the exhibition is interesting and you can have a nice walk around. Atmosphere is friendly and the castle hosts many cultural activities during the year. The most popular is the "Siege days" in August.

Really bad service from the waiters. They weren’t nice at all and made us feel bad about not speaking German even though he understood English perfectly. Disappointed. The food was nothing extraordinary.
Loved this place. He stayed here several times and enjoyed it, I can understand why. Spacious living room, lots of windows, balcony access, what's not to love. There aren't any original items here (except for the lock of his hair) but the collection shows what it was probably like when he was around.
I came in the morning, there were several children's groups, maybe come in the afternoon to avoid those. Or wait them out in the listening room - they are not permanent, they will do their thing and move on.
Though I wish I understood German to listen in to what the teachers tell the children here.

The Fire Tower is a noteworthy historical structure in Sopron, constructed during the 13th century. Its spiral staircase, consisting of approximately 200 steps, leads up to a balcony that offers panoramic views of the town and surrounding countryside. Once utilized as an observation post for spotting fires, it now serves as a popular tourist attraction with an entry fee of around 1200 HUF per adult. The ascent to the top may involve some caution due to narrow stairs.

I would say this represents the focal point of Sopron and with the great 360 degree views from the tower is definitely worth a visit. But you can combine this scenic experience with cultural interest by including the lapidarium which contains carved stone elements, some dating back to Roman times. Also if you go down to the basement you are standing on part of an ancient Roman road.

Definitely the symbol of the city! Indeed it is really a gorgeous monument, which can be seen from different parts of the city! Anyway, it would be literally amazing if you can even acces it to enjoy an amazing view of the city but I am not 100% sure this is not possible to do!

The biggest site in Sopron, the fire tower is a must visit. A former tower used to spot fires. You have to pay something like 1200 HUF to visit for an adult. There are only stairs to go up, but its not that many, and you actually do not go to the very top of the tower. Along the way are some visuals and descriptions that explain the history of the tower and the city. At the top the views are great, overlooking the entire city and countryside.

This is an old and important Zoo. It includes very rare animals. They feed them (at different time, lion, tiger and Panda at 3PM), there could be another morning time not sure. You can go and touch the goats which kids love so much. It takes half a day to really enjoy it. Also, elephant training time is 11AM. Lots of cafe and restaurants. Maps can be improved big time.

Being the world's oldest zoo this one was really well maintained and cleaned. Best thing is the cafe beside lion's den. You can have a thrilling experience watching lions roaming beside you while enjoying food. This has a variety of different animals and based on their habits the environment is maintained. A must visit place in Vienna.

Yes, it was perfect! You can see wide variety of animals there, didn’t miss anyone. Food was really good at Jumbo grill, had burgers and tasted like restaurant and waiting time was record beating. Also managed to get trolly for the kid, there’s quite few of them, need to go there early. 4€ piece and 10€ deposit. Really nice zoo with large trees and lots of privacy for the animals. Price is also high but it’s for the good of animals. Must visit! ☺️

The zoo is pretty decent. To be honest it is like most zoos. There are some renovations going on within the zoo right now. It was a good way to use up a few hours and walk around and take photos. I definitely think getting a ticket ahead once things get busier will help you save time unless you get there when it opens.

One of the best zoos we have visited in European cities. The garden is enormous, with huge variety of animals and educational information about them. The place is perfect not just for kids, but also for their parents. There are plenty of options for resting, observing and enjoying the views. Plenty of shadows for a sunny day. Various restaurants and options to buy food. On weekends and during lunch time it might be difficult to get a table for lunch and you might need to wait a while.
Will definitely visit the place when in Vienna.

The oldest zoo in the world and many of its historic buildings are beautifully preserved. This gives the Tiergarten a unique atmosphere found nowhere else. The zoo, however, is on the small side and thus many enclosures just seem inadequate for the animals that are in them, especially the ones for sea lions, elephants, giraffes and polar bears (despite the latter two being relatively modern). Worth a visit for sure but definitely not the best zoo in Europe.
Adrian Scholz — Google review
Excellent value at €26. Really big zoo, can easily spend 3-4 hours.
It has pretty much everything, it is located in the main park with stunning scenery.
Lions and tigers didn't really do much, and unfortunately the monkeys weren't playing. But the elephants and giraffes made it worth while.

Really enjoyed this zoo. Easy to walk around and lots to see. Unique and fun areas for kids to play. Popcorn was yummy. Staff was friendly. Did get very crowded very quickly on a weekend day. Bathrooms were small and often dirty.

What a wonderful experience this was!
There are tons of areas to rest and have refreshments while enjoying the views.
Animal dens are very well maintained.
Would highly recommend the seal and wolves feeding time.
Average visit time of 3-4 hours.
Family friendly too, kids can also come into close contact with goats and sheep.

This is a fantastic zoo! Entrance is free with the Vienna Pass. It has tons of unique animals to see. The yellow footprint path made it so easy to see everything without getting turned around. We really enjoyed getting to watch the polar bear eat and being so close to the hippos!

Worlds oldest Zoo. Its fantastic and full of all maner of different animals. Cost €27 for adult ticket but can buy family and combined tickets for other attractions.
Currently doing works in some parts of the zoo so some areas off limits. Animals looked happy and well cared for.
Lots of different eating areas (check what is open as it depends on time of year)

Amazing Zoo. Lots of big animals and a good selection of food, drinks, info and ample toilets and free water. The animals are posers and we were able to see everything they had up close and very clearly especially the sleepy panda and sunbathing lions. We had a great time here. Especially the petting zoo where you can be amongst the goats. We visited in Spring and there were lots of really cute baby goats that you could feed. Overall worth the entrance price and a nice day out in the already impressive gardens and house of Schönbrunn.

It's amazing looking at all the animals in a clean and well preserved natural environment, each place is unique and interesting. You can tell how everything has been meticulously designed to accommodate perfectly each one. It's not too tiring to view it all, but it has a lot so come early if you want to go through the whole thing.

One of the oldest zoos in the world! This was such an amazing experience. The zoo was a lot bigger than we were expecting it to be and beyond crowded so we would recommend buying tickets in advance and getting there early. You will not be disappointed visiting this zoo from child age to adult there is something to admire for everyone.

Beautiful zoo with many animal exhibits! I was surprised how large the zoo actually was, I would reccomend planning on a minimum of 2-3 hours here. If you are visiting the palace and gardens this is a must see. When purchasing your tickets online for the palace you can choose a ticket that includes zoo entry.

I'm absolutely against the concept of animals in captivity for show and profit.
Nonetheless, it is a big and interesting zoo.
I just wish we could get rid of zoos altogether. The same, if not better results could be achieved by reproducing the flora and habitats and filling them with plenty of stuffed animals. But probably we will sadly end up doing so anyway as more and more species go extinct.
Christian Parth — Google review
Very nicely kept grounds. Modern but steeped in history. You are reminded of the original way it was in a few places around the place. There are many areas to get away from sun or rain and lots of well kept animals to see. Overall a good experience to have with kids
Anna O'Reilly — Google review
It might be a smaller zoo than what I'm used to but it is still a beautiful one. You can't get lost or lose your track where to go. Animals are put into places with viewing areas that you can see them really nicely, so for me that's a really plus! But I wish the one viewing area for pandas would be managed better, but still it's okay. The zoo is really nice and mainly there is a panda, so I loved it and I'm pretty sure anyone will love it as well! :)

Loved this zoo! Went there at 9:30 in the morning so no queuing and got to see most of the feedings. Wanted to see specific animals so was done in 3 hours. But you can actually spend an entire day with your kids there since the zoo is big enough. And there are a lot of other things to enjoy in the grounds of the palace.

Fantastic zoo! The animals were all animated and moving around, and appeared to be very happy! The polar bear was the stand out attraction though the variety of snakes was hugely impressive.
Phil Holloway — Google review
Just wow. Not only the oldest zoo in the world, but I dare say one of the cleanest. Everything is well organised, the animals are well cared for and everyone that works here seems to really love animals. Some of the enclosures are made in such a way that you feel like you are among the animals. For some of them, for example the sloths, there is nothing separating you from the animals which feels amazing and makes for a really immersive experience. Totally worth the price. The zoo participates in a re-population program which breeds animals in Austria and then releases them in their natural habitat. They even have a cheese-milk shop up on the hill from their own goats and cows. You can easily spend a day here, totally worth the price.

Great day at the zoo. Kids had great fun. It was easy to walk around, grab a snack, or to use the toilets with a 3-year old. :)
Teodora Lyutova — Google review
This is a very special zoo. It's beautiful and incredibly clean. They have less species than most the size of the zoo because the animals have the space and carefully crafted enclosures that they deserve. Bravo to this institution for opting to keep less animals in order to properly care for the ones they have. My daughter and I had a great day here and would love to return.
Johanna — Google review
Great way to spend the day here (you can also split it with the technology museum across the street).
Even traveling the week of Christmas the zoo was not too crowded. we bought tickets on site with no issues. Traveling via public transit was simple from our city center accomodations.
Overall a beautiful setting and grounds with a variety of species. Only issue was had was some of the facilities were shuttered due to renovations.
Tips:
- Wear comfortable waking shoes. Appearances may be fooling, but there are some good elevation changes among the paths, so wear shoes that can handle incline and possible rain/slick surfaces.
-Don't skip the sloths! You literally walk into their enclosure!! When we were there momma had a baby. It was such a unique experience. Very few people and everyone was being so quiet and respectful.

So many animals and beautiful grounds also. Well maintained and lots of interactive bits for the kids too with animal facts. Can easily spend most of the day there.
Visited weekday around 10am. Pre-bought tickets but there was no queue.

Although some of the exhibitions are a little disappointing (such as the reptiles), you should definitely visit the zoo if you like animals! The variety of different impressive species is huge. It is a very nice and unique experience but it requires a lot of your time (at least three hours). Moreover, when you'll get hungry, you'll have to pay quite a lot of money, as the canteens inside the zoo are pretty expensive.

What can you say about the oldest zoo in the world?
Everything is very neat and carefully arranged, all the details are emphasized, the tour is very well created so it keeps you in a constant search for the new sites. The entire park is child friendly, with a lot of spaces for the little ones to have fun and play if they are feeling bored about the long walk. I would recommend visiting in the morning when the animals are awake and can be seen, in the afternoon most of them are asleep or in a retreated place and can be seen with difficulty.
The farm on the upper side is very nice to visit, bringing a glimpse of the Tirol.
Very nice also the petting farm, where some goats and sheep are running around the children. 😁

the zoo is beautiful, well organized, with nice habitats for animals. Pandas, koalas and rhinoceros are the sensations we most wanted to see. The children enjoyed it. any recommendation.

One of the best zoos in Europe. Variety of species, white area, lots of room for animals.
One of the stars of the zoo, panda, is sleeping most of the day so it might be hard to see it in action.
Its red cousin, firefox, was hiding at the top of the tree both on our way in and out, so we hardly managed to see it.
It was a bit sad seeing a polar bear laying outside on a hot sunny day.

It was the best day of our trip to Vienna! It is big, with lots of animals of any kind! It has many coffees with tables to sit, also water so you can refill your bottle and a small playground if your children want to relax a while.
The greenhouse Palmenhaus Schonbrunn is a large and airy building with three pavilions showcasing many exotic plants. It's perfect for Instagrammers or coffee lovers, as it's located just outside of the Albertina Museum. The Palm House was originally constructed as a palm house for the Imperial family, but now you can also visit and have brunch in the middle of all the vegetation!
Lovely place with lots of different plants to see. There are three different climates with plants according to their climate. Definitely a must see when walking the garden. I'm not a local, but it's possible to get a year pass and go whenever you like!
David van Oostende — Google review
Nice greenhouse divided into 3 sections: one full of scented plants, one heated, and the main one. Not worth more than 20-30 minutes although it is nice to sit inside on the benches and relax, taking in the sights, smells, and sounds.
Conor Leigh — Google review
In my opinion there is not so much interesting inside of this building and it’s not worth paying additional money - I’d personally rather spend more time in the main zoo. There are many plants but most of them are just green, not blooming and don’t seem special. Maybe I am just not knowledgeable enough but I wouldn’t go there again

We bought a combined ticket for the Desert House and Palm House, the Palm House was our favourite. There are three different rooms with different temperatures. It's not the finest example of a botanical garden that we've seen in Europe but we enjoyed it. If you're in Vienna and thinking of visiting here or the Butterfly House, I'd recommend the Butterfly House over this but it depends what time you have and what you prefer.

I visited in the morning.
I would love to make my family and friends visit Palmenhaus. I loved and enjoyed witnessing everything that has been preserved here, best part for me was sitting on the benches, absorbing the atmosphere & its vibes, and it was totally worth €7.
I would recommend this to everyone who wishes some refreshing moments in life 🌼🌷

A spectacular place and experience if you're passionate about nature. The Schönbrunn Palm House is a giant, temperature controlled greenhouse that houses some of the world's most beautiful plants.
The plants and greenery blends in with the structure, its pylons and walls, providing a seamless experience throughout.
There are 3 large rooms: one main/central room and two temperature-controlled rooms, one on each side of the main room. Every room houses a wide variety of different plants.

A really beautiful palm house to visit! The poinsettias were stunning to look at! It’s very warm by the entrance and they have coat hooks to leave your coats/jackets, so you can wander free handed! Lots of beautiful flowers and plants to admire. There’s lots of seats available for you to ponder and watch the world go by. It’s definitely worth a visit!! They also have toilets which doesn’t cost extra!!

A very calm place to rest in nature. Not too crowded, a single ticket is 7€. Some tiny frogs also live there! Gorgeous views located in an old and pretty building. Many people were just sitting on benches and either talking, snacking or drawing.

When you enter this place you feel like you are entering a heaven. There are many flowers and trees from different species. It was unbelieveable that different types of flowers can live together. This place was actively used as a garden during winter for people used to live in in the palace decades ago.

Must-do winter visit. If it's cold outside, this garden will warm you up. Not only because it's heated, but it will warm your heart to see so many nice flowers, bushes and trees. Nice calm area. Worth to get a discounted ticket including the entry to the desert house.

Stunning even in winter. They made the extra effort to decorate it winter themed with the winter flowers. Not too crowded. No prior tickets needed.

The Palm House had a pricing structure that wasn't clear. We initially thought the reduced prices were for Vienna City Card holders, but it turned out they were for children. This was surprising, as children typically receive free admission elsewhere.
When we sought clarification, the staff member became quite agitated, insisting that we pay €31 without any questions. Eventually, she calmed down, allowing for a more normal conversation. The Palm House, to be frank, didn't leave a significant impression. If you've never encountered anything similar, you might find it intriguing, but otherwise...
We wrapped up our visit in just 10 minutes, which left us questioning why we had paid so much. The same sentiment applied to the Desert House, which shared similar characteristics: a few unremarkable fish, a handful of turtles, and one or two reptiles. It simply didn't justify the cost.
Surprisingly, we even had to pay for using the restroom despite having purchased tickets. In summary, this place isn't particularly welcoming to tourists. It's suitable for capturing a few photographs, but everything else comes with an unjustifiably high price tag. We won't be returning.

The Palmenhaus Schönbrunn is a large greenhouse in Vienna, Austria featuring plants from around the world. It opened in 1882. It is the most prominent of the four greenhouses in Schönbrunn Palace Park, and is also among the largest botanical exhibits of its kind in the world, with around 4,500 plant species.
Several forerunners were built in the Palace Park in the 18th and 19th centuries, under Emperors Francis I and Joseph II. The present building was built by Ignaz Gridl following plans by court architect Franz-Xaver von Segenschmid, known for his projects of bridges, and Sigmund Wagner. Groundbreaking took place in 1881 and Franz Joseph I opened the greenhouse on 19 June 1882. Since 1918 it has been run by the Bundesgärten (Federal Gardens). A heavy bomb attack on Schönbrunn Palace in February 1945 destroyed most of the glazing of the Palmenhaus. Many plants died, although some were saved by being transferred to the nearby Sonnenuhrhaus. The rebuilding began in 1948, and the Palmenhaus was reopened in 1953.
The building was closed to the public in 1976 as a safety measure following the collapse of the Reichsbrücke. Renovations were carried out between 1986 and 1990.

The Esterházy Palace, located in Eisenstadt, is a grand royal baroque residence that dates back to the 14th century. The castle has undergone several renovations over the years, including a neoclassical-style makeover. While many of the palace's 256 rooms are occupied by the provincial government, visitors can tour 25 rooms to gain an insight into its history and former inhabitants' lives.
Beautiful place, so much to see, and learn about History... Really worth visiting 👌👌👌

We visited the castle/palace on a Tuesday afternoon and booked a tour. The tour was in German language and pretty interesting, although it focused a bit too much on stories about people who visited the castle and not enough about the building itself.
The interior is spectacular and we were permitted to even see the main concert hall, despite an orchestra already setting up and pracsticing for a concert taking place later in the evening. In the end, we also received vouchers for a café next to the castle (a free coffee if you eat a cake for at least €5,-). The castle also offers a few museums which was useful to pass the time until our tour started. We visited the wine cellars, which presented a wide variety of old tools used for wine making and other agricultural processing. This museum by itself was quite interesting and we enjoyed it. Can recommend visiting - and the pedestrian area of Eisenstadt's inner town is right around the corner as well for a stroll.

My visit to Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt was a captivating dive into a rich historical narrative, enhanced by the exploration of its current exhibition dedicated to Melinda Esterházy, née Ottrubay, and a modest yet authentic dining experience just opposite the castle.
Starting the day with a meal at a simple, authentic restaurant located vis-à-vis Schloss Esterházy provided a delightful preamble to the day’s cultural journey. This establishment, while not historic, is imbued with a charm that complements the grandeur of the castle with its straightforward and genuine approach to cuisine, offering a taste of local flavors that set the stage for the day ahead.
The focal point of my visit, however, was the Schloss Esterházy itself, particularly the exhibition dedicated to Melinda Esterházy, a figure of profound grace and resilience. Melinda, originally from Budapest, rose to prominence as a prima ballerina, captivating audiences with her poise and expressiveness. Her journey from the stages of Budapest to becoming the wife of Prince Paul V Esterházy of Hungary is a story of love, art, and survival against the backdrop of political turmoil.
The exhibition meticulously chronicles Melinda's early life in Hungary, highlighting her contributions to the ballet and the arts, and her eventual marriage to Prince Esterházy. It paints a vivid picture of a woman who was not only a muse and an artist but also a resilient figure who navigated the complexities of life with dignity, especially during the tumultuous times of the Communist takeover in Hungary.
Melinda’s life took a dramatic turn with the onset of the Communist regime, leading to her and her family's escape from Hungary. This part of the exhibition is particularly poignant, showcasing her strength and determination to preserve her family’s legacy and heritage despite the daunting challenges they faced. Her flight from communism is not just a tale of survival but also a testament to her unwavering spirit and grace under pressure.
The exhibition at Schloss Esterházy serves as a tribute to Melinda Esterházy’s remarkable life, from her artistic achievements in Budapest to her enduring legacy as part of the Esterházy lineage. It offers visitors a glimpse into the personal lives of one of Europe's most distinguished families, highlighting the intersection of culture, history, and personal resilience.
In sum, my visit to Schloss Esterházy was a profound experience that went beyond the architectural beauty and historical significance of the castle itself. It was an opportunity to delve into the life of Melinda Esterházy, a woman whose legacy is a powerful narrative of talent, love, and survival. The exhibition not only honors her contributions to the arts but also her strength in the face of adversity, making it a must-see for anyone interested in the rich tapestry of European history and culture.

The place was perfect one year ago. Something has happend here and it started to be extremely strict. We weren't allowed to use like 90% of the rides with our 2 years old kid because he is too short (under 90cm). Our 4 years old kid had birthday on the day of visit and he also wasn't allowed to use like 50% of the rides because he is missing 2cm to be 105cm tall. It just doesn't make any sense. Why I'm not allowed to use a pig ride when I'm holding a kid which could use that ride alone? Or a ride where You just go up and down super slowly? Any 4 years old can handle that alone and he wasn't allowed to use it because he is missing 2cm?
That disappointment in his eyes is just heart breaking...
