Something Must Be Done In Emergency There!
This great complex could be one of the best in Spain if it was properly managed and taking care of...
I have been staying there for the first time several years ago. Since then, I believe nothing has change or been changed (litteraly).
As now, the building and the operation is completely out of line.
The wear and tear is so pronounced that it is not safe anymore:
- Falling appart base walls
- Leaking roof
- Out dated and completely done furnitures
- Ice and Snow from the door entrance to the access to the parking
- Only food option is the buffet which is expensive for hospital food (The other restaurants are permanently closed)
- Bathtub leaking
- Elevator not properly maintained
- Not even answering the phone anymore...
There is much more but no need to keep on going, everybody will understand that there is an emergency state in this business.
Management doesn't care anymore and they make it clear...
Just Sad...

Location is the best part of this place. They are perfectly located to go on a hike and enjoy nature. However, the cons outweighed the pros for us and we won't come back. Next time we will go to another hotel or casa rural in one of the villages nearby instead.
Pros:
-Most of the staff is nice (One of the spa staff gets a little overwhelmed and rude when a new group arrives at the designated time, but other than that everyone was lovely)
-Views from rooms are stunning
-Great water pressure, hot is hot, cold is cold.
-Mini fridge in the room
-Soy milk available at breakfast (if you don't drink cow's milk it's not that simple to find sometimes)
-The spa is very nice, not chlorinated and spaces to bathe outside with the mountain views. However you can see some mold on the ceiling of some of it and that for me is a big no.
Cons:
-The food is TERRIBLE. Very little options, lukewarm even if you arrive in the first time slot, mushy. Cheap food from a cafeteria type of buffet. We ended up eating the the villages nearby for the scond half of our trip because it was so bad.
-Only single beds (unless you take a suite) and they are hard and not comfy at all. Terrible sleep the whole time.
-Cleaning service is bad. Towels are thrown in a pile on the shelf, beds are not pushed back to walls when made so you have to push it back into place yourself. They leave the bathroom floor super wet and I almost broke my neck entering it, not knowing they had just left our room. They never take the dishes from teas or other stuff you bring in the room, we left them out of our room at some point.
-The whole place needs a little love. The view of the side of the hotel you first see when walking from the parking is all rusty and cracked. Furniture and building itself needs a refresh. It is clean though.
-Massive spiderweb in the entrance light (accessible, not behind a glass or anything) is the first thing you see entering and it was there for the whole week.

Talking ONLY about SPA - no hotel review
Only one good thing is outside pool
It is ok (still not warm enough with 4 degrees outside)
But - to have pools on one side and sauna on the other side - is the weirdest thing i saw in my life
Sauna is cold
Hammam is cold and without vapor
All amenities looks old as …
It is dfntly not worth the entrance payment (and a cap 3,50€ fee)
We left after 30 minutes
Not recommended 100%

Very interesting and beautiful place. Spa experience… could be better !

The buffet lunch was terrible, the hotel itself is falling apart outside and a stroll around soon reveals the state of disrepair and abandoned look of everything. I held my wedding reception here 22 years ago before the refurbishment job and it was beautiful. What the new owners have done to the place is bordering on criminal.
Diarmuid Magourty — Google review
We stayed for six days in the hotel, family of three.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
Staff is extremely polite.
The best of the place is the spa, (termas de Tiberio) and the beautiful surroundings, a lot of trekking nearby.
We were lucky to enjoy the outdoors swimming pool while it snowed.
The best experience seems in late winter or early spring

I’ve been here with my girlfriend to have a relaxing and calming experience in the spa. Unfortunately it was the complete opposite.
It was incredible loud all the time and children were shouting and very very loud. The staff didn’t remind them once to be quiet and respect the rules.
The cold showers did not work at all. So for a nice sauna ritual of hot and cold opposites, there was no possibility. The iglo door did not close properly, so temperature wise
It also did not work as it was supposed to.
It was in gerneal very poorly maintained.
There was a small spider nest in one door.
Lockers were broken. Kids jumping in the outside swimming pool.
These are just a few things.
So it was more of stressful experience and we made a claim and asked for our money back.
I would not recommend to go to this place.
The only good thing is the surrounding, which is really beautiful.

We visited the thermal baths 6 years ago. We were very disappointed Ted this time.
Severel parts of the installation were inoperative or not working properly. As an example, the lukewarm sauna and hammam. And when I raised this with the staff all they could say was that they would mention it to maintenance. They did not seem to care.
The outdoor pool set in a snowy garden was still impressive.
Overall, a disappointing experience as I know they could have done better.
Gregory Pankhurst — Google review
The hotel is fine, with friendly staff, but the Balneario (spa) is lacking, most pools have the same temperature, even though it is supposed to be hot/cold. Also, the sauna, the steam and the stone room have a mild temperature, same with the ice room. The view around is amazing especially if you will do some tracking.

Guided tours by foot, train & boat through a limestone show cave with stalactites & stalagmites.
It’s the biggest, most beautiful and best organized cave I’ve visited in France. Visitors could park their cars in the parking and ride a shuttle up the mountain where’re ticket office and cave’s entrance. The visit is by group with a guide. The first floor of the cave (wheelchair accessible) is biggest part of the cave with a lot of beautiful structures in curious shapes say stalactites and stalagmites. It is amazing to wonder how many centuries have passed to form them knowing that it takes 1 century to grow 1cm. Visitors continue to go down 80 m (260 feet) by stairs, have a shot ride by boat, walk the long a corridor( even change department underground) and take a train to go out. It’s a wonderful visit. The train ride is fun. Get out of the train we are at parking level no need to get up.
NGUYEN Thanh Van — Google review
Beautiful place. Huge spaces and long corridors. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. The guide was nice, friendly and funny.
Don't forget a coat: it is only 12°C at some levels during all the year.
Negative points: bad organisation. Firstly, very long waiting lines and after you are in a huge group, so big that more than a half couldn't hear comments of the guide.
Underground river is somewhat disappointing too: short and boring.

Naturally formed underground caves discovers in the 1800's. There is a train ride and boat ride taking you around the caves. Truly a unique experience! Only a 40 minute ride from Lourdes.

Impressive cave with beautiful rock creations. Nice to hear about the formation of stalagmites and stalactites. Boat trip is not much though. The train ride is more fun.

Great place to visit on a rainy day. The kids enjoyed the boat ride and train. Our guide Ludwig, was excellent. The queues to buy tickets could be avoided completely by if they had online sales or ticket machines. It's quite pricey too.

You have to visit this place if you visit the lourdes church. It's a 24 mins drive from the Lourdes church but it was totally worth it. We came here on April so there was a not a lot of people but in July and August it will be packed. The guide was funny and excellent 💯 The stones and structures formed by water droplets was sensational to watch. The place is full of history. I highly recommend this place ✔️

A fun experience for all the family, including a giant cave, beautiful view, saling on a boat, riding a train (a true mountain train, it is), and all of this is happening 200 meters under the ground.

Had a really good experience there. It's not the most natural experience but for a family with children quite great. Very well organized and very friendly staff. Fair prices for snacks and coffee at the shop at the exit.

Fantastic place! Free parking. Just follow the road signs for cars (not for buses). The 2h trip inside the cave is very well organised. Visitors are all the time escorted by friendly tour guide. Audio guides are available on different languages. The cave inside is truly breathtaking. Even the best camera can not capture the beauty of this cave. You must see it to appreciate it. Good for children and adults ( 4/5 years old + due to many steps going down). Steps and cave paths are wide and safe to walk. Lights inside are more than enough. Nice underground river crossing by boat, nice underground train ride at the end of the cave exploration. In overall this place worth every penny. The souvenir/coffee shop at the end of the trail is very nice as well. Good place to enjoy cup of coffee and apple pie before to leave. Highly recommended.

What an amazing experience. The caves are stunning and the tour guide is fantastic. Although we were the only ones from England he took his time to translate everything for us at each step of the tour.
The train ride that concludes the end of the tour is particularly awesome, my kids absolutely loved it.
Parking and toilets available on the spot. Clean and affordable tickets. Would definitely go back ❤️🇫🇷

Absolutely hands down the most coolest and incredible cave formations I’ve ever seen.
We were driven to the caves which was a plus, the tout guide has an audiobook in English for my family who doesn’t understand French. Found some incredible gems myself while exploring so I was amazed and the history as well we learned was interesting.
We took a boat and a train at the end of the tour.
Really incredible! I recommend 100%
I loved the bathrooms too so cool!

This remarkable underground wonderland is undoubtedly a must-visit.
One thing to note is that this attraction can get incredibly busy during the peak holiday season. However, my visit was during the off-season, and I couldn't have been more pleased. There were no queues, and we effortlessly embarked on our subterranean journey.
The entire experience lasts approximately an hour and a half. What truly sets this place apart is the availability of an underground boat and train ride.
Information is available in multiple languages.

Dramatic national park valley & historic trading route with waterfalls & ridges served by chairlift.
A breath stealing 1hr hour adventure through the national parc of the Pyrénées and you are easily wowed by the panorama. Park at the entrance at a fee of 7 euros per day, you take 1 hour to go from the pond d'Espagne to lake gaube. Bring your food and drinks to picnic there. Careful, the roads up to the hiking starting point is curvy and steep. For those who are afraid of heights and such landscapes, I recommend you close your eyes and bear the pain because the experience up there is worth the pain. The hiking includes climbing 300m to reach the lake on a rocky and non-flat surfaces( real hiking trail) so be equipped for the expédition( hiking shoes, raincoat, water, food). The lake is accessible by chair lift at a cost of 15euros per adult. So I recommend forget the pain and Set out on a quest for the wonders of nature away from pollution.

Prachtige wandeling!

Stunning natural beauty. The cable car doesn't operate for a few week in May so check before visiting if you're unable to walk all the way up. Would recommend visiting Cafe dEspagne where you can see the waterfalls and meet the native and very friendly dog that lives there.

Such a stunning place to visit. Far better than I expected. From the large parking area, it's a simple walk up to where the Ponr d'Espagne bridge spans the meeting points of the Gave de Marcadau and the Gave de Gauge.
There are multiple viewing points to take in the breathtaking torrents that tumble down two separate waterfalls from high above. Both waterfalls are different in appearance and you will probably watch mesmerized the lovely view.
Having seen the two main waterfalls, be sure not to miss the pathway that descends by the Hotellerie to a level below the Pont d'Espagne, where another smaller waterfall runs into the stream and good views of the bridge itself.
Well worth the trip up the valley on very windy roads to get here.

OMG. The colors of Lake Gauve is amazing. Takes an hour to hike up (not very even) or take the chair lift and walk the gravel path. Enjoy a light lunch at restaurant by lake. Almost no people in mid September despite the nice weather.

Very nice waterfall with a trail of 350 m by foot. You can park the car for seven euros a day nearby. There is a cable car to go up the hills and ski, and there are bathrooms and also a trashcan on the entry cabin. And the place is very cold, lowest degrees 1° end December. Good hiking shoes it’s recommended if you want to go on the trails.

Erg mooi natuurgebied met zeer mooie waterval. Alleen jammer dat het ontzettend druk is. Wanneer je een ticket koopt voor de kabelbaan, is het parkeren gratis.

Very nice nature reserve with very nice waterfall. Just a pity that it is very busy. When you buy a ticket for the cable car, parking is free.

The place offers a number of routes of different degrees of difficulty, we took an easy route down hill, about 6 km:
take the first closed cable car + the second open cable car, from there continue to the lake for dipping your feet :) ... continue on a footpath (very rocky and uncomfortable for walking) Along the river back to the parking lot. Don't miss the waterfall which is right before the end of the footpath.
Costs per couple 22 euros for one-way cable cars + parking, if you don't take the cable car you only pay for parking 8 euros)

Beautiful place but to many tourists around. There are tourists to tourists. It is made for tourists, not for people who like to walk through nature and mountains. This is my opinion

Practical information first. The car park is large and well organised, and the parking is free if you take the lifts to the top. Else it is between 7-10 euro for the day. There is a gondola which takes you to the bridge and an amazing waterfall with a restaurant. The walk to this part is quick and easy so perhaps the gondola is not needed. After that there is a chairlift to the top or a 1.5 hour walk. At the end of the chairlift it is a 15 minute easy walk to the lake. You can swim in the lake but it is very cold! Also available at the top is a restaurant but take some cash because there is not much service so sometimes cards do not work. There is a walk you can do halfway around the lake which takes about 25 minutes. It’s a pretty rocky walk. The lake is beautiful and the mountains that surround it are amazing. I recommend this visit to anyone.
Tracy Booysen — Google review
Amazing place, great views. There is a restaurant near the bridge, where you can have food &drinks.
The cable car to Gaube Lake was not working (April 7). So be ready for 1-1.5 hrs walk to the lake.
Nestled in the Pyrenees National Park, Gaube Lake offers a picturesque alpine setting with hiking trails and a waterfront restaurant. Accessible by chair lift or a two-hour hike from the Pont d'Espagne, visitors can also explore nearby attractions like the Gave de Jeret and Gave de Lutour waterfalls. Adventurous travelers can opt for a challenging trek uphill or take gondolas followed by a scenic 1.5km walk to reach the lake.
Cable car, chair lift and 15mins walk to lake. If you buy a ticket you get free car parking. The walk down is lovely, but difficult in places. Please wear good footwear

Lac de Gaube boasts an altitude of 1,725 metres. There are two ways to get to Lake Gove. The first way is to go up to the middle of the mountain on the summer lift. Get off the lift and walk for about 20 minutes to reach Lake Gove. For those with a lot of energy, I recommend a one-and-a-half hour hike along the pine forest path after crossing the Spanish Bridge (Pont d’Espagne). If you reach Lake Gove by any means you choose, you will be able to enjoy the spectacular view of the 3,298 meter high peak of Vignemale Mountain reflected on the clear water. Strongly recommend to give a visit.

It’s a good two hour hike with breaks for lunch from the Parking to the lake. You can choose to hike up and come down using the telesiege/telecabin (we did this ) although most people prefer taking the lift up and then trekking down :) either way it’s a beautiful lake and even if you take a return trip with the ski lifts, there’s a nice track all around the lake which is a good walk .. I did the hike with my 6 year old (first hike) uphill and she managed luckily ;)we saw many kids hiking down .. the bar/cafe at the lake is good but only accepts CASH/cheque so carry cash!! Carry a big trash bag as you are not allowed to throw trash along the way and need to carry it back to the parking :)

Absolute must see for nature lovers! If you're adventurous, you can hike up to the lake (or even further). You can also take the gondolas up there, and walk the remaining 1,5km. This only costs 15 euros and it's worth every cent.
We chose to hike down, and now my knees are angry with me. The path down is steep and full of rocks and boulders (duh), so it's challenging to say the least. Bring good hiking boots and plenty of water.
The Grotto de Massabielle, a limestone cave situated in Lourdes, is a renowned religious pilgrimage site and popular tourist attraction. It is located at the heart of the Sanctuary, bordered by the Gave de Pau in the north and the towering Rock of Massabielle in the south. According to legend, it was here that Bernadette Soubirous encountered an apparition of Virgin Mary in 1858.
The place where st Bernadette Soubirous is said to have seen the Lourdes apparitions is called the "grotto of Massabielle", which is the most famous place in the sanctuary. The Lourdes water flows from a spring located inside the cave. From 2014 to 2018, the surroundings of the grotto were modified to facilitate the passing of pilgrims through the various facilities around the grotto. A new esplanade was built on the banks, taps providing water from the spring were moved away from the grotto while new fountains for pilgrims were created, baths were renovated and a new bridge was built. Chapel of lights were built on the right bank for pilgrims to light candles.

How do you rate a place of apparitions. I found it a relaxing experience. There was mass said in diferent languages every day. I felt calm during my visit. People were quite emotional sometimes and this was fine. I also sat across the river for somtime and it was just calm and relaxing. I was on shirt break alone but was never left to fell that way. I knelt and received communion on the tongue which was somthing quite special. There is a feeling of hope here. The story of Bernadette has reached all corners of the world. She is an inspiration. This is an inspiring story of an apparition of the immaculate conception. To be there and kneel were this took place is beyond belief really. A peaceful nighttime visit is really exhilarating enjoy.

65100 Lourdes, France
I'll never travel to Carcassonne without this trip planner again
The religious compound renowned for pilgrimage and healing in Lourdes comprises a complex of structures including a grotto, baths, and churches. The area's historical significance dates back to ancient times when it served as an oppidum hill during the Roman era. This is evident from various artifacts uncovered in the late 19th century, such as remnants of walls, fragments of a citadel, and a pagan temple devoted to water deities.
I was blessed to be able to visit during my last pilgrimage in France.
There is a daily Marian procession in the evening that's been happening for hundreds of years.
There are daily confessions in multiple languages in a building across the water so that's always available.
Pre-covid there is also an opportunity to be dunked in the water from the fountain but now it's just water poured from a jug that you wash yourself with.
It is definitely worth a visit for anyone in south west France, especially if you're Catholic.

I was overwhelmed by this precious, holy place! The architecture and artwork take your breath away. I was fortunate to pray in all 3 churches, the Grotto, walk the stations of the cross up the hill, attend mass and, of course, get the water. And all this was during Holy Week! A must see for everyone!

Beautiful serene place to revive your religious spirit. Lots of events happening throughout the day and in different languages. Daily Eucharistic procession at 5pm. Daily candlelight rosary procession at 9pm. Very touching processions. Masses held in various languages in the chapels and Basilica of Immaculate Conception, Basilica of the Rosary, etc. The grotto is beautiful and has Masses and rosaries said at the Grotto. Definitely worth the visit. Lots of shops selling religious, good quality items. Very friendly and safe place overall.

Splendid cathedral..beautiful day and night and in all the seasons...the grotto is located on the right side shortly after passing through the arche...I dunno why I expected grotto to be on that hill next to the cathedral:) ...there is a full program for believers..masses in different languages and in some months candle processions and so...they will tell you about the program at info center and even in english...even as a non believer I found this place magical and comforting

This is an absolute gem in southwestern France. Regardless of your faith, this gem is worth visiting. You can feel the warmness of the people. The sanctuary is truly breathtaking. You can attend the mass, procession or just enjoy the calmness of the place and let your inner being rejoice, rejuvinate in the beauty of this unique and wonderful sanctuary. I look forward to my next visit.

This is a wonderful sanctuary to visit! We had a candlelight procession here on the two nights that I visited, and it was a very moving spiritual experience. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful church!

It's a major pilgrimage site for Christians. Since I am not I enjoy walking around and admiring the sanctuary's architecture and the cave underneath. The river flowing coolly by, down town with some beautiful buildings.

"Lourdes is a place of profound spiritual significance and natural beauty. The iconic Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to Bernadette Soubirous, is a moving and serene site. The atmosphere of devotion and the healing waters of the spring make this pilgrimage destination truly unique. Lourdes offers a deeply spiritual and reflective experience for visitors from around the world."

A once in a lifetime experience. We felt so blessed to have a the opportunity to visit this wonderful place despite the lengthy journey from Paris. I’ve been to other Marian sanctuaries including the Guadalupe and Fatima, yet enjoyed this one the most.
The Sanctuary is breathtaking and the minute you walk in you can feel the peace and beauty that lies inside. There were so many pilgrims yet everything was so well organized that at no point did we feel overwhelmed. The group of volunteers is unlike anything I’ve seen before and the main Basilique is astonishingly beautiful.
We enjoyed attending mass in the early morning - and were rejoiced to attend one in our native language on Saturday along with confessions. The visit to the Grotto was absolutely special and the evening procession can’t be put into words - something you have to experience to describe.
We stayed for two full days and three nights, which I highly recommend so you can absorb the experience without feeling rushed.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes is one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage sites in the entire world. It is located in the south of France, where a local girl named Bernadette experienced a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary during 1858. In the years that followed, a series of churches were built up around the Grotto where Bernadette had her visions, forming what is today the Sanctuary in Lourdes.
Just atop the grotto, you will find the highlight churches, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (1862-71) along with a Crypt (1866), which the Virgin Mary requested the people to build through St. Bernadette. This is also where you can visit the Byzantine style Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary (1899).
Other chapels and houses of worship line the outer grounds of the Sanctuary, including another major Basilica of St. Pius X (1958) which is uniquely built underground. There is an outdoor chapel of candles and hillside Way of the Cross walk amongst other points of interest.
Church services are held throughout the day at the various chapels and churches around the Sanctuary. Check online for service time and locations by language. You can also pick up a daily schedule at the Information Centre within the Sanctuary grounds.
While on the Sanctuary grounds, visitors can collect holy water from the grotto springs. It is believed that these waters contain healing powers. There are even bathing opportunities in the healing waters as well. Prayer candles can also be left at the chapel of candles. In the evenings, visitors can participate in a nightlight candle processions that are held daily during the warmer months of the year,
Located atop a hill, this thousand-year-old fortress offers breathtaking vistas of the city, along with a lovely botanical garden and museum. In 1858, Lourdes gained prominence both in France and internationally due to reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary witnessed by Bernadette Soubirous, who later became a saint. Consequently, it transformed into one of the world's most significant pilgrimage sites and draws around six million visitors annually from various parts of the globe.

Pic du Midi de Bigorre is a prominent mountain in the French Pyrenees, home to the 19th-century Pic du Midi Observatory. Standing at nearly 3,000m, it is easily recognizable with its observatory and rocket-like transmitter. The site offers an immersive experience with friendly staff who provide insightful information about its history and astronomy. Visitors can enjoy a cable car ride for stunning views and explore the bistro for a delightful culinary experience.
Mountain fortress castle, with an amazingly enthusiastic astronomer (Raphael) weather not guaranteed but to stay in such a place is incredible. Although we could not see the stars we saw them in the planetarium with wonderful explanations in french then in English.
The morning was early to catch the moon through the telescope and the sunrise.
A bucket list place to spend a night

Really nice hike from Col de Tourlamet (parking place) to top of Pic du Midi. It took us about 2.5 - 3.0 hours. The last part is a little bit more challenging.
I can’t say anything about the other facilities on top. But no one should complain about the weather, you can find all relevant information on their website.

A school group visit to the Pic. We loved the planetarium, views and the very good interactive activities exploring thr history and scientific research of the Pic.

This is an amazing place to visit and well worth the cost.
The staff are very friendly and most of them speak English.
The short intro video and the planetarium experience are also really worth paying 10 euros for. They explain the history of how the place was constructed and give you an insight into astronomy.
One comment that struck me was about how, before Galileo, beliefs and knowledge were the same. Now of course, they are separate.
We also treated ourselves to a meal in the 2877 restaurant which was fabulous.
The food was presented well and tasted great. Service was also faultless.
On the whole, highly recommended!

Great experience - and a must-go in the Pyrenees. The cable car ride is a great adventure in itself - and the view from the platform is awesome! The bistro is a particularly great experience - very nice service and a large selection.

Breathtaking scenery. Whether you are a mountain person or a beach person, you are definitely going to be amazed by the views the observatory offers. Ticket prices might seem a bit too high, but the entire experience is totally worth it. Make sure the weather's nice and warm when you visit!
Eider Quertier — Google review
Not so much a review, as we were cancelled with 24h notice due to weather.
More a TOP TIP: When you've planned (15 months in advance) a week-long trip to France solely for the purpose of spending one night watching the stars in this observatory, schedule that night at the START of the trip. Why? Because (unbeknownst to us) they keep a couple of single rooms on standby for the days after they cancel your reservation at 24h notice (not bitter). Needless to say, we had to fly back the following day.
Still, we had a nice break.

Tomohiro KOYAMA — Google review
Got the 1st cable car up at 0930 we were the only non staff people on it and had the whole place to ourselves for at about 30mins. We had read that the best time of day was early morning or evening and the visibility certainly dropped off about 1200.
Spent a few hours up there admiring the view outside (it's cold in October, bring hat, gloves and warm stuff!) And then jad a walk through the museum. I found the exhibits very interesting although some have quite in depth explanations of subjects such as the atmosphere, subatomic particles etc. There is a Wilson cloud chamber showing different particles and their movement which is great. Exhibits alternate between languages every 2 minutes.
Highly recommend it and I felt it was worth the €45

An easy hike for beautiful views from the mountain top. There is a restaurant and a cafe as well. We hiked in October and the weather was beautiful. Drove there from Toulouse, parking sapces are available for free. Definitely carry water and some food. During the hike you will not find any toilets so find a rock to pee. There is a restaurant on the top where the observatory is but we did not eat there.
Col du Tourmalet is a renowned mountain pass in the Pyrenees, standing at an elevation of 2,115 meters. It is famous for being a challenging climb on the Tour de France cycling race. The route to Vallee de Gavarnie from Argeles-Gazost can be accessed through the narrow Gorges de Luz or via Col du Tourmalet. Cyclists find it essential to conquer this pass, with both sides offering long and demanding ascents.
The hardest and most rewarding days cycling I have ever done. Stopped at the ski resort for lunch and then made the summit after. Views are spectacular.

Col du Tourmalet is a must for every cyclist. Being from Luz St Sauver, being from Sta Marie de Campan, both sides are long and challenging. The picture at the top with the Giant is mandatory! From Luz you can also rent some electric bikes to make the climb a little easier! On the Luz side I recommend to take the so-called Voie Fignon, a little past Bareges, right side, this is the old road now just for cyclist on the way up. Tourmalet is not the highest climb in the Pyrenees, neither the steepest, nor the most beautiful, but has it all, and especially, the history of the Tour de France.

Amazing lunch and lovely spa. Many different themed rooms with varying types of pool/ sauna. Enjoyed the choices, some pools hotter than others. Outside pools have views of the surrounding mountains. Well worth a visit.
Suzanne Bant — Google review
Very average. Definitely is not a ‘spa’, it’s a leisure centre / swimming pool that has a few jacuzzis and a heated outdoor pool. We regretted driving here and paying the expensive entrance fee and felt the description miss sold a nice leisure centre.
Jake Hyslop — Google review
The view is superb but the water is highly clorinated and the temperature too low for my taste. You need to get out and find a warm place from time to time. Also they have some stupid rules about the male swimsuite and they can kick you out if they consider yours not compliant. Decathlon standard is not good here, they encourage you to buy one from the reception. There is only one sauna which is acceptable. All the fuss about inca and other types of baths is just marketing. All have the same high chlor water with the same temperature.
Rares Tohanean — Google review
The spa is located in a nice place and has a good selection of activities. However, it is very crowded. People rush from one activity to another. Due to 2h limit for the visit and crowds I did not feel neither relaxed nor energized after the visit.

Large choice of pools and water treatments. The size and changing facilities remind me a bit too much of a municipal swimming pool. Warning, you have to pay extra if you need towels. Massages need to be booked 1 to 2 weeks in advance.

Wonderful thermal bath with a great idea - you can travel to Japan or Peru or relax in the Roman baths. The thermal water is great - but some restrictions: Unfortunately, long line in front of the entrance - on a Tuesday outside of the holiday season at 2.45 p.m.
The changing rooms are really bad, you don't feel well. You are not allowed to wear flip-flops or take a towel with you into the sauna - that means everyone is sweating on the wood and you have to sit in the sweat of others. The very dark shower room is a major disaster, much too small and not discreet. You can't really take a shower naked and clean yourself before and after the thermal bath, that urgently needs to be changed. Please.

Balnea is a fabulous SPA niched in the Pyrenees with fantastic views of the range of mountains. Even though it's May, peaks of mountains are still covered with snow. In the SPA, there is a series of basins to try out from Roman, Japanese, Inca, Amerindian offering variations of soothing water turbulence. Massages, esthetic services and more are also available by appointment only. Entrance fee is 19 euros for two hours of heavenly aquatic body and mind experience. No chlorine is used but instead ion treatment and pure water source, sulfuric water loaded with minerals.
Mountain lake with a waterside path, fishing & pedal boat rentals, plus views of paragliders.
Beautiful lake at Loudenville surrounded by mountains. The view is breathtaking. I have been there multiple times and it never disappoints. There is a thermal bath nearby to relax if you are tired of trekking.
Upkar Kumar — Google review
A tiny lake is surrounded by an asphalt walking path suitable for bicycles, about 2.7 km long. The water in the lake is very cold and looks clean and full of water plants. All around we found fast food places, ice creams, boats for rent and inflatables in the water for children, on the shore of the lake in front of the attractions, a lot of noise... make your decision where to sit. Behind the boat rental business are convenient and relatively clean public toilets.
There is plenty of parking around Lake -the parking spaces are marked "private parking" even those on the main road. Many park there without considering the signage.

Sainte-Marie is a commune in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in south-western France. Wikipedia.
Wild animals in a natural environment, a petting zoo & picnic areas in family-friendly surroundings.
This is a great place to visit especially with kids. There is a dedicated path for visitors and the animals are all around you. In the middle of the path there is a kiosk that was close when we visited , and a petting zoo with cute farm animals. We had a great time there and they seemed to take good care of the animals that looked happy .
hila — Google review
Didn’t really rate this. It’s basically just a zoo, most of the enclosures looked far too small for the animals, especially the bears and the lynx who seemed thoroughly miserable.
The café was also closed in the middle of the day (all day) in summer meaning there was nowhere to even get a coffee.
I didn’t feel that this lived up to its reputation nor its description, and wouldn’t recommend a visit unless you’re in the local area already and are running out of things to do.
Jake Hyslop — Google review
We went with our car club to this lovely park. It is well laid out with a circuit route that you can follow easily. The animals are well treated, some of them are rescued and seem happy there. The deer and mountain goats are free to wander and are very at ease with people. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would recommend a visit.

We loved this park, loads of animals which are running "freely" around you so you can get very close to them. Nicely managed and very relaxing environment. There is a little caffee stand with WC near the end of the circle. Be prepared for a few steep walks during the visit tho.

Lovely animal park in the middle of the forest, almost every kind of animal had young ones which gives me the feeling all in all they are in good shape. Very natural feel to it. Mind you that most of the park is shaded in the morning so bring warm clothes, in September it was already chilly.
Lee Erez — Google review
Very informative. I am often asked, which animals live in the area - here is your answer, plus a few bonus ones. Imagine it gets very busy during peak season, which might be less fun. Easy to park. The one way walk through the park is about 2km with some steep bits, worth noting for non-walkers. Allow 2 hours for a non-rushed visit (many will spend longer I am sure)

Unfortunately our experience in Baqueira has not been the best. We travel my motorhome, have done it for the last couple of years with our kids. We get to experience everything and contribute to the local economy since we shop, eat and use services where we stay. Baqueira doesn't welcome motorhomes anymore, and if you ask for advice to vigilants of Naut Aran they simply ignore you and give you a ticket. We will be doing our winter snow trips somewhere else, where they welcome us as any other tourist.

Baquiera Beret is like Europe's hidden gem of a ski resort. Compared to their more pricey and popular resorts further north, Baquiera is shockingly very good in both absolute and relative terms.
Even in relatively late season, we experienced snowfall literally every day we were there, pretty much guaranteeing amazing snow and powder experience - this compounded by the fact that the resort is relatively free of large crowds (especially in neighbouring mountains Beret and Bonaigua) and you get some of the most pristine and pleasant pistes in the world.
Infrastructure is excellent with a combination of cable cars and chairlifts that allow you to easily explore the extensive and diverse of pistes of Baquiera; not to mention the accessibility of restaurants, bars and cafes spread out across the resort should you need a quick refreshment or a leisurely meal overlooking the stunning landscape.
The resort boasts a variety of pistes for all skill levels and stamina, offering scenic long runs and technical but still very enjoyable runs in the blacks. I love that many of the trails effortlessly converge and diverge from each other so that you can have the option to move from challenging to easier pistes effortlessly making meeting up with friends regardless of skill level a relatively easy affair.
While English is not widely used and minimally understood (except for the more central services of the resort), we rarely faced problems communicating our needs and people were patient and generally happy to help you. Even a little knowledge in Spanish (or even better, Catalan) will go a long way in getting you around enough to enjoy your time there.
Will it still retain its charm in the coming years as more people discover this understated resort? It's hard to say, but it's definitely become one of my favourites!

Nice experience. Not so crowded for the big holiday (6-9 Dec) in Spain. The slopes are wide, well kept and the lifts are nice, for could be better and then, on the downside, very little life in town, there’s only one “club” Tiffany’s and it was a pain to find good restaurants that weren’t absolutely crowded.
Andrés Cepeda — Google review
Very nice ski center, quite big and with some very runs. We spent 5 sunny days skiing in late February. Most of the lifts are modern and fast. The ski center was quite crowded but the queues were moving fast. Lots of parking available, we found the ones up in Beret and Orri the most convenient. What was annoying were the traffic to get to the ski center and to leave from it. Especially during Sunday it took us almost 2 hours to return to our hotel in Vielha which was just 15 km away! All in all, it is highly recommended.

These people will steal your money and have no idea what customer service means.
I made a reservation for gear rental online. When I arrived at 8:30 am to pick up, turns out the place is not located at the address posted in Google. Also, the hours are incorrect. They open at 9am. When I tried to call keep sending me to voice mail saying they were close. I'm a tourist and I was part of a group and we had an agenda. Since I couldn't get ahold of these people I had to rent gear somewhere else to be able to move on with my vacation trip. As soon as I had wifi access. I respectfully sent an email asking to cancel my reservation and get my money back because their contact information was all wrong and as a tourist I have limited communication. They literally say that it was my fault because they call me and that they will not give me my money. I explained my phone is from the US and didn't have full service. That they could have emailed me but thy never tried to contact me until I emailed them. So I respectfully ask to them to understand that is a big deal when you work in a tourist spot and your contact information is all wrong. Because this is how tourist find you. They basically ignore me and just charge my credit card. That's stealing. Not to mention some of the local businesses I asked for information said that it wasn't the first time people come and ask looking for these guys. So it have happened before.

Village Gaulois - Archeosite is a reconstructed Gaulish village with realistic constructions and various activities for both children and adults. The friendly welcome and the mobile application provide a guided experience throughout the discovery. Workshops such as tailoring in leather, copper, and coin-making keep children engaged while transporting them back to the times of the Gauls. The park offers knowledge through guided activities and independent exploration, making it an educational rather than an amusement park.
Recreation of a "typical" Village Gaulois an hour's drive from Toulouse. It's open from 14h00 (check days). The huts have been carefully recreated since the foundation of the project 1993. The team run excellent workshops and present their "metiers". Wood working, pottery, wool.

(Translated by Google) After reading some negative comments, I was pleasantly surprised by a very well-made park, with superb and very realistic constructions, with a lot of knowledge available (as long as you are willing to read) and workshops led by people charming and passionate. It is not an amusement park, but a place of knowledge with guided activities and other independent ones. In a very fun setting, even if the goal is not to compete with Eurodisney. Once this aspect is in mind, we benefit a lot from the visit and the culture of the staff present on site. The park is actually very big, we spent the whole day there, and it was necessary to not do everything at a run and fly over it. For children yes, so curious and eager for knowledge about a very poorly documented and little taught era. A great discovery, which is worth it.

Many prehistoric cave painting & artifacts have been found in this cave carved by the Arize River.
The approach to the cave via the road tunnel is really striking, and the cave itself, whilst not as spectacular as some, is fascinating from a historical point of view. The tour in French was excellent, and not expensive. Personally I could have done without the holograms, but they only took up 5 minutes of an hour long visit. On a practical note, there is adequate car parking, and a decent snack bar, and the nearby village has shops and restaurants, and a museum of pre-history which is included in the entry price to the cave.
David Hempstead — Google review
Passed through en-route to Toulouse airport. A natural wonder which you can drive through. A cafe is present serving food and drinks and there's also a public toilet (but locked out of season when footfall is low). Free parking allowing to wander around and picnic if preferred. There's also a visitor's museum and a bungee jump (in summer season) for those looking for an adrenaline rush!

Quite annoyed, yes there is in french written there are only guided tours (only in french, which takes a hour) but then write at least also that they start a half hour after opening. Nowadays the translation engines are so good, that it would be very nice. Opening times are quite limited with a lunch break from 12-13.15. I didn’t made inside. So it’s more a review on the informations.

Great place to see!
- There is a cave to visit with a guide, but the entrance is on specific hour not randomly
- tickets 10€ adult person,
- interesting description of culture and artefacts, and video presentation
- I was missing longer walk in the cave, the "complet dark" test/situation, geological/morphological description, laser pointer ^^! (But the shadow pointer wasn't bad) and souvenir in the exact shape of the main artefact[Faon aux oiseaux] like a fancy pencil or small necklace- i would definitely buy it! And i was missing possibility to take pictures in the cave :(
- a little bit too cold in the waiting room
- public toilets on the parking next to the cave were closed :(
- great 3d model of the whole cave
- great model of the bear and his skeleton

Great grotto to visit. Big negative is no pictures is allowed and the guide only speaks french, so if you don't understand french you gonna miss out on some things, you do get a guide book in english, but the conversation in the hologram room is not translated in the book. You can take pictures of the outside of the grotto. The guide was a really kind person and you felt welcome. So worth the visit if you have interest in pre historic stuff.

jean valjean — Google review
Impressive cave system. The tour was a little disappointing for non-French speakers. The website claimed that you could get an English guide in July but this was basically a couple of leaflets, both of which you had to read before the tour as it was too dark in the caves to read them. Also, one of the leaflets was yellow type printed on black, so was virtually impossible to read anyway. Our tour guide seemed to spend ages talking about the artefacts (which we couldn't understand) and then sprint through the caverns themselves, which was a shame as you needed more time to appreciate them.
Helen Watts — Google review
A huge cave going right through the hillside. Big enough for a road to use it as a tunnel alongside the river. There is a small car park at the end and then you can walk into the cave and towards the museum.
The surrounding countryside is very pretty with lots of hiking available. Alas we didn’t have time so I can’t comment on the museum or the surroundings in detail. But the cave is cool!
Andy Reynolds — Google review
Tour tickets need to be booked in advance. Tours start every 30mins. Visitor centre is approx half a kilometre from the carpark. Small cafe en route between the two.
Spoken guide is in French only, which is fine - translated written guides available. However the tour of the caves themselves had such low lighting you couldn’t read the written guides whilst in there.
This is not an accessible tour; the visitor centre and initial exhibition/display is accessible (as are the toilets via a wheelchair lift) but visitors need to be able-bodied and steady in their feet to be able to take the tour of the caves themselves. Significant number of steep steps and where the floor is natural cave underfoot you need to be very careful. Better floor level lighting would improve this considerably.
Donovan Jones — Google review
This is such a cool place to see and learn about prehistoric, geologic, and more recent modern human times! The tours are only given in French, but they have information booklets English and other languages so that you can understand whay the guide is saying. Also, in several parts of the Grotto and caves, there are information signs in French.
A few notes: No pics/video allowed. Parking is on the upper part of the Grotto, and you have to walk down to the middle to the information center. Bathrooms are at the top by parking.
The drive is lovely as well, and with the price of your tour ticket, you can visit the museum in town for free (Musée de la Préhistoire). Lots of cute shops in town too, and some hiking trails around. Definitely worth a visit!

Impressive canoe descent! For a first experience, my feelings were mixed. Being a total novice in handling paddles and canoes, it was stressful, especially in places where there were rapids. As a result, I found it difficult to relax and enjoy the setting, the landscape, the moment. The guides who accompanied us were friendly, I thank Jérémy who got us out of the water after capsizing 😅, my 13 year old daughter and me 🙏🏻. We were 2 groups, 1 guided per group.
The descent lasted 2h30 😛 it's physical, it's tough! And watch out for aches the next day! At the end of the descent, our guides' colleagues were waiting for us to take us back by truck 👍🏻👌🏻 that was great and well organized. Back at La Belle Verte we were able to change to get dry (change of clothing required), we had lunch there at the snack bar offering buckwheat pancakes which we enjoyed. Thanks to the snack lady who was very friendly 😁.

Les Forges de Pyrène offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of Ariege through its reconstructed hamlet featuring various workshops like a blacksmith, gold panner, and artisan distiller. The site is family-friendly with activities for children such as writing in script from 1904 and interactive demonstrations at the forge. Visitors can also explore the craft museum and enjoy events with activities for all ages. However, some found the on-site restaurant overpriced and busy.
This is a great place to visit. The museum is interesting and you can go back to school and write your name in script from 1904 with pens and ink based on that time. Then onto the forge to see how the metal was worked and the noise it produced. Finally a walk though time following a death and a marriage and a birth during the 20th century. Very well managed and run by the staff. There is a bistro there where we had a large meal! Salad, cassoulet and blueberry tart. We were part of a group so it is probably best to check on activities mentioned to see if you need to book.

Very friendly staff. Nice location easy to get to by the local bus. Good size car park. The 'shows' seemed good but my partner didn't speak French so found it hard to follow what the guides were saying, and no alternative e.g headphones to translate. Easy to walk around and nice lay out. More for a family with young children rather than adults. Restaurant on site busy and overpriced so we ended up leaving as they were too busy and weren't able to tell us what was gluten free.

Site with a lot of potential. Great collection of objects from many interesting careers from the past. The presentation about blacksmithing was great. The martinet forge was fascinating. However we had the unfortunate idea of visiting the day after their fair, and many of the staff were completely exhausted and clearly didn't want to be there. Maybe they should consider closing the day after the fair. The old fashioned vehicles for the kids were cool but too small for my 4 year old. The playground is nice to have but too bad that they didn't make it fit with the theme of the park.

The craft museum is well worth a visit. The actual forge is still in used, and used for demonstrations. But try to go on a day when there's an event happening, particularly if you have children. There are no English translations. I thought it was bigger. The restaurant was permanently closed. This should be changed quickly. Otherwise it is already very lovingly designed.

Great place to discover how people were living on old times. A real functioning wrought, blacksmith, Baker... And many other jobs.
Mountain-top, ruined, 13th-century castle with a museum for historical & archeological exhibits.
Amazing climb and views. Can download an ap to listen to history in english. 6 euros entry in cash. Steep but fine if you go gently. Can rent stucks for 2 euros if needed. I took mine and was glad to have them.

Well worth a visit if you’re in the area and enjoy a well earned vista! It’s a bit of a climb to the top, about 30mins up a pretty steep mountain side but the ruined Chateau fort and the views of the surrounding area are stunning. We didn’t take a trip to the village just down the road due to the heat but the ticket (€5 for an adult) allows free entry to the museum should you want to know more about this mystical ruin.

Most important of the 'Cathar' castles but not as frequently visited. Castle itself is decently well maintained. Nice views. Climb is not hard for people in decent shape.

Amazing place, with beautiful view. Road over winter is a bit extreme, but it gives more adventurous. On a top is one destroyed castel with interesting history.

The castle isn't much to see but you go here for the view and history. There was a great guide (in french) explaining the story of the castle and the end of the cathars
... when I get back home I'll fire up medieval 1212AD and bring back the Cathars !!

Beautiful medieval castle full of history. The museum and town below are also lovely. Loved the view from the top after a tough but rewarding hike!
Hunter Purvis — Google review
The walk is pretty steep, but if you are a backpacker that came on foot from Lavelanet, then this additional part should feel like a reasonably-paced epilogue (unless you have run out of water on your way to the castle). There's little information available in English on the signs, so if you came here to read about the Cathars, be prepared to polish your French. As is often the case with high-altitude places, the view alone is worth the struggle.
I must say the place doesn't feel particularly mystical, excluding the atmosphere of remoteness that its relative altitude creates. Guess that has to do with it having a more boring history after 1244

Great walk. Not easy for everyone with a rocky steep path off.

Small Ruin of a cathartic castle, historical wise very interesting. About the ruin is not that much to see, what amaze me is that there were living up to 600 people on the rock. The view over the surrounding land is amazing, the way up is a bit challenging for a couch potato but do able. Take water and sturdy shoes with you.

It was a very nice visit, a bit hard to get up but thats okay, was just a disappointed that the info boards was only in French.
Carsten Tune Petersen — Google review
The climb to the castle ruins is approximately 1km in length, with an elevation gain of 250 metres, so it is not for the faint-hearted. The view from the top is fantastic and the history enthralling. If you imagine the events that took place here you wonder how people can be so cruel.

Beautiful chatue, situated right on the top of the hill.
The hike is manageable, it takes around 30 minutes with easy steps going up. The view from the top it is really beautiful, as you can see all around.
It's such a pretty building, wonderful architecture! Illuminated at night. Stunning!

Splendid place in Mirepoix. Mirepoix itself is a medieval village, a bastide, with such an impressive arhitecture. Have a look around and stop to see the Consul's House, or have a coffee at one of the beautiful cafés. If you are around mid-October, you might be right on time for the Apple Festival. And is a MUST to see the catedral, with is religious choir. Just so relaxing...

It is a very old church, it began to be made at XII (1209 if I'm not wrong) century and had finished at XIX century.
It's construction stopped between the years 1300-1400 because of the "hundred years war" (England vs France) and because of a pest epidemic.
An interesting landmark to be visit. I guess that it is one pf the oldest of France.

Needs restoration on inside. And hardly any information found on: history & construction &/or what to see in Cathedral. For example: a fresco and more... Learned back home by coincidence through reading about Chartres labyrinth, there is one too in Mirepoix.... Situated floor side chapel within cathedral. Size 60 cm, 11 circuit with Minotaur at the centre. C. 1530

The spectacular and ancient Cathedrale St Maurice in Mirepoix France is well worth a visit. Quiet and contemplative atmosphere inside is complimented by the medieval architecture.
Thomas is the MVP of our holiday! He took the time to establish what we were interested in, and made fantastic suggestions for our family. We really appreciated his knowledge, friendliness and rugby chat!

Camp or boat?
Castelnaudary is a great starting point to explore the Canal du Midi and its cluses (locks) all the way up to Toulouse, Carcassonne or the Mediterranean Sea. Bring a cassoulet (a specialty from Castelnaudary) along the way. Le Boat rents boats (no permits needed). Their bases have showers, toilets and WiFi. Sounds like camping on water ;-)

Impresionados.

Impressed. That's how he left us. We did not expect such charm in such a small town. The pool, the Church, the mill, the atmosphere of the promenade... Highly recommended.
Be careful, the information and tourism office closes at 12 noon... No comments

lots of info for surrounding area, much in english. picked up a brochure on the canals and the Pyrenees.
Remains of an ancient castle featuring a room with sculptures of musicians with their instruments.
Be prepared for a bit of a climb, but worth it for the historic site and views!

Quite an interesting visit. The castle (the parts you can visit) is not very big but you get to see some nice, rather well-preserved rooms (meeting hall, chapel, etc.).
Chris Christodoulou — Google review
The weather during our visit was very changeable. The heavy drizzle in between created a suitable atmosphere, because life was certainly not comfortable back then.
Luckily the castle is not only made of old stones - although it already looks very dilapidated - it also offers a kind of museum on four floors in one of the big towers. That way we stayed dry and were able to familiarize ourselves even better with life back then. Knight's hall, music hall and a chapel with many original props. Don't forget your flashlight at your smart phone!
Just as the driveway to the parking lot with a 12% gradient and a one-lane road is not for everyone, the castle and the stairs to the floors are guaranteed not to be barrier-free. But the view and the atmosphere were unique and fortunately there weren't that many other tourists there in this weather.
The 7€ entrance fee per person is justified, because such a castle cannot survive without support.

Really quite an amazing place. The owner was very engaging and talked with my friends for an hour about the historical context. It was obviously a defensive structure, but also played a role in the culture of the roaming poets and singers known as troubadours. It would still make a fantastic venue for concerts, as inside the walls is enough space for a soccer match. The château existed in the early 12th century when Eleanor of Aquitaine visited, but must be much older. Highly recommend.

The castle itself is nice and well worth a visit. It is small, but with the exception of part of the wall well preserved. The young lady playing a rendition of medieval music was a nice touch. The plastic boards in some windows, the car and horse in the courtyard a bit less. The first being in the way of good pictures and the second rather overly friendly. The young teen boy claiming to be the owner and therefore entitled to go outside the fences a weird touch. I somehow don't think that that would protect him from sliding down a steep hill.
In short: nice place, easy access and giving a good impression of what a castle was.

Some lovely views from the castle. Lovely place to get a picnic in while overlooking Puivert. Be sure to have batteries on your phone to act as a torch.

I wasted 7euros on this ruin, there are 4 chambers you can visit but nothing special to see. Only pleasant aspect was a lady always and a guy playing some type of old instruments in one of the chambers, still not worth the money. And you can't climb on the roof for the best view. Of course you won't get a receipt and you can only pay cash.

When you visit more kathar ruïnes this one is than maybe the one where you expect nothing but in reality there is the most to see. This one still is a castle with a few rooms you can enter. (Only by stairs so not by wheelchair) what you read about horses is correct but it is not irritating. There is a horse to keep the grass areas short. And another plus is that it's only a short and simple walk from the parking to the castle gate. You have to buy ticket to go in. Price is 6-7 euro.

While the place is getting a little dilapidated, one info sign is completely trashed, there is enough here to occupy you for an hour or so. The keep is intact and has several rooms with interesting architectural and artistic features. Great views across to bugarach. Five Euros seemed a reasonable price to pay.

Lovely old Cathar chateau with a nice walk up from the car park and excellent views. Only reason not five star review is that we could not see inside as it was closed for a month from 25 November.
A hidden gem in Castres, Occitanie! In a totally renovated palace created by architect Mansard of Versailles fame and gardens by Le Nôtre of same fame! Inside, a wealth of Spanish Art well organized and displayed chronologically, an excellent audio guide together with written notes in each room make your visit worth. Leave two hours to enjoy it to the maximum.

Nice, well organised small museum. If you are in the area, this is a worthwhile stop but it is not one to go out of your way for. The pretty garden behind the museum is worth a visit while you are here. A walk along the river takes you to the main square where you can find several good spots for lunch.

It's not a big museum do not expect Prado 😉 nice place for kids for short art relations, just one Goya s art piece, but more of Ribeira s, Valasques and other Spanish painters, temporary exhibition of Pablo Gargalo very exceptional.
Very interesting, excellent tour guide and the walk to it was beautiful, even got to make some paper,

Very nice. We were the only guests on a coldish day (3°c) in winter. They opened the ticket office for us and we had a private tour. They explained the paper making process, and my son even had a go and making a sheet. Definitely will go back in the warmer months. Also a very beautiful idyllic setting.

Really interesting tour of the last paper mill on this part of the river. It has been the family for seven generations and all in production. Educational and nice demonstration of the paper making process. Extremely scenic area with a great little walk from the car park to the mill.

To start, this place is in a stunningly beautiful little valley. You can pak under the oak trees and picnic there too if you like.
It is a paper mill that is still operated by the family that has been working it for generations.
The waterwheel still operates and the tour is really well done by a very cheery and patient guide.
It has responded to the mass-production of paper by concentrating on the craft of producing by hand, fine quality artists' papers of many types.
A must for everyone to visit this unique and delightful place.
