The Amber Museum in Kaliningrad is home to over 6000 pieces of amber jewelry dating from the 4th century BC to the present, as well as ancient specimens with prehistoric insects and plants fossilised in resin. The museum offers a fascinating look into the city's rich culture and history.
Nice place and the museum has many informations to show. There are shops as well to buy amber stones. I enjoyed to read the history behind the making of the stone. Worth to visit.

We did not get a chance to go in due to lack of time, but the surrounding area is great and so are the shops. If the inside is anywhere near its exterior, I'm sure it deserves a five star rating.

Amazing experience. My knowledge of Amber grew by 50000%. Beautiful pieces to look at as well as nice souvenirs to be bought.

Touch mysterious and traditional culture and history of Kaliningrad.
If you have heard of the mystery of the amber room that missed during warld war 2, you would definitely be moved, because there is the exhibition of the room that restorated.
If course, you can learn the history of amber and how to make amber things in Russia.
Additionally, there is the exhibition of amber art such as pictures made with amber.
There is a souvenir shop that you can buy amber and with reasonable prices!

Before I came to Kaliningrad I had no idea that such a huge percentage of worlds amber derived from this region. It's crazy to think about 300 million years how a unique set of circumstances led to it.
This gives a story of the region and a ton of amber displays as well.

There was quite a nice experience at the amber museum of Kaliningrad, where we could enjoy the history of this city carved in that marvelous stone amber. Entrance fare is not so cheap though but I think that was worth a deal

If you want to learn more on the history of Amber then this is the place to go. They start out with explaining what Amber is and how it comes to be and only then do you proceed to the jewels of the place.
The Königsberg Cathedral is a brick Gothic-style religious building situated on the island of Kneiphof in the Pregel River, Kaliningrad, Russia. It is an important monument as it is one of the few remaining structures from the former City of Konigsberg which was almost completely destroyed during World War II.

It is a Brick Gothic-style monument in Kaliningrad and is the most significant preserved building of the former city of Königsberg, which was largely destroyed in World War II.
The construction was completed in 1380. Although it was heavily damaged in World War II, it has since been restored afterward.
It is the largest brick church in the Baltic region and has three towers, and a 700-pipe organ (one of the largest in Russia).
The interesting fact about it is that It is the burial place of Immanuel Kant, the famous philosopher and his statue is in the cathedral as well.
There are lots of interactive parts inside the exhibition about Kant, for example in one part you can ask any question from him, and he'll answer you!
If you are interested in learning more about the history of Königsberg or the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, then a visit to the cathedral is a must.

Beautiful cathedral was built in 14th century. Doest function as an regular cathedral nowadays. It's is a museum. To get in you need to buy a ticket. There is also possibility to listen to organ music there.

The catjedral hosts now the musem of Emmanuel Kant and organ concerts. It si more interesting to watch here outsode than inside. Afterall the cathedral was bombed djrong the ww2 and for a long time it was a ruin. Worth for a visit.

Beatiful building resounding park and lake. Walk from main road to this cathedral and go to fishing village and Kaliningrad stadium. Take some time to buy some amber outside stall.

Standing proudly in the heart of Königsberg, the Königsberg Cathedral serves as a captivating testament to the rich history and architectural grandeur of the region. With its imposing presence and intricate details, this majestic cathedral holds within its walls the echoes of centuries past.
The Königsberg Cathedral, originally known as the Cathedral of the Holy Family, stands as an iconic symbol of Prussian heritage. Constructed in the 14th century, it served as the spiritual heart of the medieval city of Königsberg, the former capital of East Prussia.
The cathedral's towering spires and Gothic architecture reflect the magnificence and power of the Teutonic Knights, who once ruled over the region. The Teutonic Knights, also known as the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, were a medieval Catholic military order founded in the late 12th century.
One notable feature within the cathedral is the tomb of Immanuel Kant, the renowned German philosopher who spent most of his life in Königsberg. His final resting place is a site of pilgrimage for intellectuals and admirers of his philosophical contributions.
This museum is unique in character and diversity of its objects and exhibits.
Very interesting museum - numerous ships and other vessels for exploration + main hall with aquariums. And new exhibition hall is coming up soon. Highly recommended to visit!
But be aware - it's not "just a museum", the complex can take almost entire day to see everything.
Michał Klasa — Google review
Loved by local people but few exhibitions because of renovation.
If you are expected to watch a lot of kinds of fishes, you would definitely feed disappointed, however, the exhibition of the whale is absolutely great!!
There are a several tickets depend on what you want to watch, so you might feel confused, but you can ask the staff in the ticket office.
I recommend you to check the Instagram account of this museum, because their posts seems very lovely.

A big territory with a lot of attraction sites including a submarine, a research vessel, a water plane, coral and fish aquariums, all sorts of marine mines, anchors, compasses etc. To visit every attraction you need to pay separately. Great for kids.

Impressive and highly recommended to visit. Very interesting excursions, different places like submarine, few buildings, ship.

Being in Kaliningrad you have to visit this place. But not all attractions are worth to see for foreign guests. For sure tou have to buy tickets for museum on the ship and submarine. Before you buy the tickets for other attraxtions, check what this is about, because you can be dissapointed and bored. I do not recommend aquariums. They are small and not so attractive. And in my opinion they are to small for all those fishes. But still you should come here and see those great things.

Naberezhnaya Petra Velikogo, 1, Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, 236006
The Kaliningrad Zoopark, which was established in 1896, spans over 16.7 hectares and showcases a collection of more than 2,300 animals. Visitors can spend several hours exploring the attractions and observing the animals, but each attraction comes with an additional cost. While the food inside the zoo may be more expensive compared to options outside its premises, it is still an amazing place to visit as the animals have ample space to roam freely.
Amazing zoo. The animals have enough space to move freely. A must see when visiting Kaliningrad.

Leuke dierentuin.

Very beautiful zoo!!! There's good food, ice cream, clean and neat bathrooms, wonderful trees, fountain, bridge and walkways. There's a lot of animals to see and keep you walking all over. It's a whole day plan or the park you would love to go for a walk. Bus stop is convenient. There's no parking, but there's several busses stopping right in front of the entrance. So any bus can take you to the zoo. That's amazing! The restaurant in front of the park connects to the inside green foliage of the park. At this restaurant, there's this beautiful deck you can seat and enjoy the fresh air. It's a perfect place for everyone! I loved it! My favorite animal, my daughter's love, the giraffe. They are right there in front of you and get very close at you. Just beautiful! Also, at the entrance there's a racoons house(it's paradise). I would be a racoon, that's where I would like to live. This keeps your kids entertained on your way in and out. By the way, there's free wifi.
Sara Sveshnikov — Google review
At this place cashier was one of the kindest people who works with people in Kaliningrad. But about the whole zoo, they are trying to do something and building new volleys and its not going so fast as customers would like. Also the price is pretty cheap. Overall, I am satisfied with the tour.

The unique cat-themed museum, known as "Мурариум," is located in a renovated 130-foot water tower. It boasts a top-floor viewing deck and a penthouse. The museum showcases an array of captivating and charming feline figurines. However, the entry process can be perplexing for visitors as they are initially directed to the 6th floor before being instructed to wait for the same elevator to descend one level, leading to lengthy queues.
Nice nice nice :))) Lot of interesting, funny, nice cats :)
Tomas Pikturna — Google review
View from the top is nice. The collection inside does not worth it. Also elevator is too small and the first floor is always too crowded (tickets are sold along with the souvenirs, and there is very little space there)

The location didn't bother me, so it was ok
Service - a nice gentleman who knew that I would arrive late and was already impatient whether I would be there. Knowing that we will have 2 + 1 child in the room, it's a pity that there is no third pillow, third tea cup and cutlery, not to mention a chair or stool.
Room - the beginning of October (cold, even very cold for a room with a child). It's a pity that the room is small and full of furniture, but what can you expect for PLN 200 per night.
Breakfast is included in the price, but I don't want to think about it.

(Translated by Google) Accommodation for two days, for two people PLN 440 in total. Supposedly in the season, supposedly at the last minute, but this price is a ridiculous joke. There are plenty of available apartments around for a much lower price. We wanted to have an adventure with my boyfriend and spend the night in a caravan, but at this price it's not worth it... maybe if it cost PLN 200 it would be a nice change.
Defects:
- when I arrived, it turned out that I had to pay an extra PLN 80 (2 sets of bedding, a parking space and PLN 50 for a dog... for me it was a comedy, considering the conditions there)
- co-educational bathrooms (you know, it's a camping site) BUT their level was very average, there was rubber everywhere and bugs in every possible corner along with cockroaches.
- in the caravan, we were informed that the bathroom inside could not be used and there was mold in the non-working refrigerator (which, considering paying over PLN 400 for two nights, is also a mockery to me that you couldn't even put some basic things in it
-no heating, so you can get really cold at night
-you have to pay extra for everything, not even bed linen or towels were provided. Good thing we didn't have to pay extra for toilet paper
GENERALLY, I do not recommend it, it is better to take your own tent and rent a place at the camping site for cheap.

Definitely not worth the 1.5hrs drive from Gdansk and the price (120 zloty for 2ad+2ch)

Ugly, empty and ruined place that begs for demolition team. Literal scam, offers nothing but huge trash statue of whale and few others smaller ones, everything is in bad condition. Tunnel with sharks consists of sharks painted on the wall (no joke). Avoid at all costs and most of all, don't pay any money for scam. If you ignore all red flags and wander inside, don't try out food. You have been warned! 🐳🚫

50 zloty for a park with only 5 real animals. The rest is not even realistic sculpted or drawn on walls. The only thing that made a little fun were remote-controlled to cars. You can go to the zoo for half of the money and see more and real animals or you can go to the playground for free. This was a waste of time and money.
Anuska — Google review
Huge disappointment. No real animals, just a bunch of old rusty whale models lying around here and there. My daughter was really sad after visiting this place and kept asking where were all the real fish and sea animals. Waste of time and money. Oh, and don’t eat anything there, the food is awful.
Wojtek Bauman — Google review
Waste of time and money, overpriced, attractions simply not attractive. Tunnel with sharks is a joke. Kids enjoyed inflatables (hard to call this an amusement park!), choice of cafes was poor too. It’s a nice idea but needs some work to finish it off.
Simple rooms in a casual budget hotel close to beach, offering a shared kitchen & kids' play area.
(Translated by Google) It's an okay place, the owner is very nice, I don't know how you can have a problem with him. The place is old-style, it could be an advantage. It wasn't dirty, just old equipment, e.g. you can see the stone in the bathroom and maybe something would really need to be replaced, I'm mainly thinking about the shower handles, but everything served its purpose. We've already stayed in a nicer place in this town and we also had to have our own soap and toilet paper (there was just not enough), but ours are also more reliable in terms of cleanliness, so I always have such things with me and I don't see a problem. A large parking lot, we could still use it after leaving the room. There was a kettle and a fridge in the room and they worked.
To sum up - a completely good place to stay, you just have to think about having the necessary things, flip-flops for bathing too, and you won't have to get frustrated.

Czajnik, lodówka w pokoju były i działały.
Podsumowując - zupełnie dobre miejsce do noclegu, trzeba myśleć, żeby potrzebne rzeczy mieć, klapki do kąpania też i nie trzeba będzie się frustrować.

Drama, I will never visit this place again. Not only do the equipment, couch and room furnishings remember the times of the Polish People's Republic or even earlier, they are very dirty. While staying in the room at the "Herkules" guesthouse, we had the impression that the room had not been cleaned at all after previous tourists. Something disgusting, even a brush couldn't be used to sweep it, because disgusting clumps of old hair were sticking out of it. The couches were full of sand, nothing had been vacuumed, and the bathroom floor was full of hair. We were afraid of catching anything, so we equipped ourselves with cleaning products at our own expense to feel at least a little safe and that we wouldn't come back from vacation with some parasite. The water in the shower did not flow, the water stood above my ankles during the bath, the toilet flush did not work properly and, in addition, a terrible stench came out of the bathroom sewage, like a toilet. The corridor was also in a deplorable condition, there were clouds of dust on the floor, tangled with hair and sand, someone spilled something on the tiles, and during our entire stay in the guesthouse, none of the owners bothered to wash or at least vacuum the staircase. Moreover, we were a little late and on arrival it turned out that our room had been rented to someone else, but luckily we managed to find another replacement.
The only advantage of this place is the fact that the distance to the beach is small, but I think it's not worth it because the stay is not super cheap and for this price you can definitely have much better conditions and feel comfortable.
I don't recommend this place to anyone.

(Translated by Google) Rooms - PRL, that's a fact. The advantage is that the rooms (at least ours) were quite large with a view of the nearby food stands :) Plus the balcony. However, time stopped there a long time ago. My wife and I are not demanding, but a torn sheet or standing water in a slightly moldy shower may bother someone more. Two stars only because there were no worms ;)
Service? It's hard to tell. I talked to an older lady on the phone and settled accounts with a young lady - we only saw her twice (arrival/departure).
The place makes up for its location. Right at the entrance to the beach (with a ramp for strollers, which is very important, because this is probably the only such entrance), nearby the Żabka store, a supermarket (small) and alcoholic beverages. Very close to restaurants and a place to party :) The noise didn't bother us, everything went quiet from around midnight. Generally, we were rarely in the room, we are not demanding, so 3 out of 5 stars is a realistic rating, but if someone expects a five-star hotel, this is not the address ;)
If we come to Jelenia, we will come to Hercules again.

Pokoje- PRL,to fakt. Jednak czas sie tam zatrzymał i to dawno.
My,jeśli zawitamy do Jeleniej, to przybędziemy ponownie do Herkulesa.

(Translated by Google) A stay cheaper than a hotel stay, although not as cheap as advertised. I was surprised by the need to pay for the stay in advance before the room was made available. I didn't have that much cash with me and I was forced to look for an ATM (one was crowded with tourists and the other was temporarily closed). When, out of breath, I returned to the guesthouse with the money and was given a room, it turned out that there was neither a towel nor a piece of soap. Although I had a towel with me, I had to go outside again to look for soap. After driving 400 km, it took a long time before I could wash my hands. There was no mention of issuing an invoice for the stay. I won't mention the conditions in the guesthouse because I didn't see all the rooms. In my room, which I ordered as a 2-person room, there was one double sofa and two single sofas. There was no longer enough space for a small table, which we had to place on the casing of a small refrigerator, moving it accordingly - a nightmare. I would advise the owner of the facility to provide at least a room for a shared kitchen equipped with dishes and cutlery in such a large guesthouse. The kettle in the room does not meet the needs for preparing a basic meal, especially since it could only be prepared on the refrigerator. I was also surprised by the savings on lighting - the entrance to the stairs outside was completely dark, especially dangerous for elderly people. Small measures would be enough to improve the aesthetics of the concrete balcony and unfinished raw plinths. the lack of even a small table on the balcony and the replacement of old ropes and clips from the times of King Ćwieczek with newer and aesthetic products. I also ignore the TV offer. There is no cable TV, not to mention satellite TV. In short, anyone who only needs a place to sleep and eats in the so-called city is welcome - I will definitely not use this place again.

Niewielkie środki wystarczyłyby aby poprawić estetykę betonowego balkonu, nieobrobionych surowych cokołów. braku choćby małego stolika na balkonie i zastąpienia starych sznurów i klamerek do przypinania z czasów króla Ćwieczka wyrobami nowszymi i estetycznymi.

The tallest lighthouse in Sweden: 41,6 m, 197 steps to the top, built in 1785. You can climb up to see the interior and have great views from the top: the southern tip of Öland, cows and sheep roaming freely, long stone walls, a lot of clear space. This destination is extremely popular for birdwatching.
Current visiting fee is 50 SEK (children 20 SEK). Tickets are sold in Naturum next to the lighthouse or in the lighthouse (cash only).

It's one of our favourite places to walk in nature among the birds. We have been regular visitors to Långe Jan and the bird sanctuary for the last 1.5 years. Långe Jan is Sweden's tallest lighthouse. The view from the top is breathtaking.
The lighthouse is only open during the summer and autumn (check the exact timings on their website). They have an entrance ticket that can be bought on the spot. The entrance opens at every hour.
There's free parking and free toilets on the premises. They also have a bird museum, a small souvenir shop and a restaurant. Parking is open around the year whereas other facilities are open only during their opening time of the year.
You can walk around the premises, on marked trails in the forest, and by the sea. Be sure to look at the map so as not to walk to the prohibited areas or hunting areas. The reserve also serves as a grazing area for cows and sheep.
You can easily spot different species of birds, deers, rabbits, and seals. I recommend carrying decent binoculars to experience the surrounding beauty.

The tallest lighthouse in Sweden from which you can admire variety of birds. It's also hugely popular with birdwatchers. The place itself is very peaceful with not many visitors, there were no queues (middle of August). So, if you're into nature and landscapes it's worth visiting.

Access to the lighthouse - 50SEK. Don't go in without ticket! You can buy one in Naturbutiken i Ottenby. This building is on the left side when you are walking in the direction to the Långe Jan.
This place is great to observe the birds. Check the weather before you come here, it can be really windy!

Bird watchers paradise. The southern tip of Öland is not only famous for Swedens tallest lighthouse (which you can climb to the top of) but also a bird watch research station. More or less all of the migrating birds of Sweden pass here on their way south or north. Loads of seals can be seen from the shore and there is also a very good restaurant for something to eat or drink. It is also the perfect spot for both sunrise and sunset
Borgholm Castle, the largest ruined castle in Northern Europe, is located just south of town. Dating back to the 17th century, it was a Baroque castle that was burnt and abandoned early in the 18th century after serving as a dyeworks. Despite being ruined, guided tours are offered along with an event program including summer concerts and children's activities at the nearby nature reserve.
This castle was a lot more entertaining than I expected. Many different views, nooks and crannies to explore. There are 3 floors currently open to the public with their own unique areas and architectural designs. There was also an art gallery in the basement /main floor but the main attraction was definitely the courtyard. Would def recommend visiting if you are in the area! If you have kids, this is an amazing place for them to roam and have fun but be aware of certain unsafe and slippery areas.
Admission to enter is a bit pricey (100kr) and they have a souvenir shop as well on the premises. You can roam around the castle from the outside for free though.
Lastly, there are two parking lots. 1st one is usually full from the entrance, but the 2nd one has a nice hidden scenic back path through the cows and pasture.

The castle ruins are beautiful and the view is gorgeous from the second story. You have to walk carefully since the ground is uneven. You can bring your dog as long as you keep it on a leash. I was unlucky and visited the day after they'd ended their guided tours for the summer. Luckily they have an app where you can download a guided tour, listening to short snippets by different numbers in the castle. This is where I have to give fewer stars because there's a discrepancy between where the numbers are placed in real life and on the map in the app, making it very hard to find some of the spots. And they're supposed to be marked by red flags but not all of the numbers are. Eventually, after running around trying to find the numbers, I gave up.
It's still worth a visit if you enjoy old castle ruins and are in the neighborhood. If you like me prefer to have a guide I recommend you go here during high season when there are actual guided tours.
Oh, also. The toilets outside of the entry cost 10 sek to visit. (I have strong opinions about that.) If you are planning to go inside the ruins, hold it in and use the free toilets inside instead.

My visit to Borgholm castle was truly unique in the purest sense ever. I was all alone and as such had the joy of exploring every corner and crevasse of this vast castle all in my own sweet time. And if ever there was a castle to explore! Impressive restoration and preservation made it possible to go everywhere you'd wish. See if you can find the naturally made markings on the wall: slaughtered pig hanging, hen with one foot and the infamous dog eating a sausage. They had made some fun gimmicks to take selfies on which I couldn't resist. In every sense of the word an unique experience

Kalmar Castle is a seaside palace built in the 16th century on the site of a 12th-century castle. It boasts fairy-tale-like turrets, a drawbridge, and secret passages that add to its charm. The castle has exhibitions that showcase its 800-year history, including its role as an important building in the land at one time. Visitors are free to explore the castle on their own or take part in guided tours included in their admission fee.

It’s one of the best castles in south of Sweden. Good part is, they have guides included in tickets itself. The guides are hired by castle and they wear ancient clothes belonging to that time and look really pretty. Guides don’t rush and explain all the things which are right now present and which were destroyed by time. Except castle, there is not much in Kalmar city.

While the castle itself is a splendid sight with its rich history and captivating architecture, the downside is the mandatory entry fee of 100kr, even if you only intend to dine at their restaurant or browse through the store. It's disheartening that visitors are compelled to pay for entry regardless of their interests, adding an unexpected cost to what should be a simple visit. Despite this, if you're willing to overlook the entrance fee policy, the castle offers a unique and picturesque experience.

Kalmar is one of the most enigmatic castles to visit. Much of the beauty is in the natural surroundings. The castle faces the Baltic sea. The water keeps it calm & dreamy. From the parking area, you first walk through a grave site that feels more like an immaculate garden with very tall trees. Even the courtyard inside the castle was vibrant & charming. Overall, every angle of this place is picturesque. It wasn't as touristy as expected. Spend a day here & enjoy the peace.
Christine Doan — Google review
It's really interesting. The staff dressed in Tudor clothes. Information panels in Swedish and English. Only half an hour to spare, so they let us in for half price. Models of the castle at different times in history.
The Marinmuseum is a contemporary and family-friendly waterfront museum that showcases the history of the Swedish navy with an emphasis on naval vessels. The museum features exhibits such as a battle deck reconstruction, an impressive collection of figureheads, model boats, and real-life warships including HMS Vastervik and Swedens royal sloop. The highlight of the museum is its submarine exhibition which includes an underwater tunnel showcasing a wreck. There is also a restaurant serving delicious meals at reasonable prices.
Interesting muzeum presenting the history of Swedish navy in really attractive way. And totally free!
The only thing that needs imrovement is turning off light or just darkening it in the underwater section. Then, the wreck would be more visible.

Very informative and interesting spot. A family adventure. Be there before 14.00 can be recommended as there are actions for kids that end at 15.00. The wrak tunnel was disappointing as too dirty to see anything but green water.

Absolutely adorable place, the best maritime museum I’ve ever visited. The most interesting parts are definitely the underwater route where you can see real ship wrecks from XVIII century! And of course you can enter the real submarine! The museum would be a good place for kids too, coz there are things they can touch (which is amazing, right?!) and there’s a great playground inside.
Also consider eating at bistro downstairs: good Swedish food on budget.
The one improvement I’d suggest is the mobile app: it’d be great if audio files open automatically when you approach the next stop. Some files are a bit too long, and when you visit the museum with kids you can barely spend few minutes next to each stand.

The museum tells stories in every possible way, it’s super entertaining, interactive, and full of information that will make you understand and enjoy Swedish naval history. It’s friendly for the whole family, from children to adults. I think it’s useful to arrive early and start with the submarines, so you will have time for the rest including visiting the centre of Karlskrona for a farewell ice cream.

Wonderful, wonderful place! I honestly didn't expect this museum to be so HUGE! You really need a few hours to see everything and take it all in. There's an authentic submarine that you can visit, there's also a part in the museum that allows you to go under the sea level and see an authentic shipwreck and if you're lucky, spot some sea critters (I've seen some very curious fish :D). The museum is filled with history and stories, you can experience by yourself how it is to row a huge ship or sit down and learn how to tie a different types of knots. I can't recommend it enough! It is definitely worth visiting!

Very nice marine museum, with 2 real submarines (one can be seen inside). Most expositions are described in Swedish and English, although there are place, where only Swedish description is available. You can download audio guide app in several languages (I've not tested this option).

Very big and well made. They have two submarines from cold war. One can go inside Neptune, it's amazing to see how the life looks like inside the submarine. A nice walk through the history of Swedish Navy.

This museum is a best place, not only to know about naval history but to experience the same. You can go in to a submarine. The place has some working models for kids to play around and teach how submarine works. The buffet served is very good and not included in the entry ticket. Entry is also free during Wednesdays. You also can enjoy some good views around the museum.

Slightly interactive, with exhibitions on a few floors. The full-scale submarine wins the show.

Was here prior to departure time of the Stena Line ferry. An hour before the museum closing time was well spent as we were able to come inside the submarine. My son liked it so much!
Very friendly, small but atmospheric port. Lovely town, according to the guide. Standard Marine price as in other ports on Bornholm. I recommend. It's worth visiting this place.

Nice place at the old harbour. The classic danish "Stjerneskud" as shown on the picture was the best I ever tried. Only minus were people with big motorbikes with engines turned on right in front of the outdoor area.

Svaneke havn is a beautiful location with an amazing view of the sea and the marina. It's a great place to just sit, eat an ice cream, draw or just relax and soak in the amazing soft, salty Bornholm air.
The marina is very clean and has enough places to sit.
The boats are amazing to watch and you can have a nice stroll along the coast, through the town and along the marina.
The next time we visit this beautiful island, we will definitely come back to Svaneke and continue learning what we can about the island, it's surroundings and it's inhabitants.
Friends who own a boat have recommended this marina to quite a few people before and none of them have been disappointed. It is accessible, clean, welcoming and thoroughly nice.

No electricity near our boat due to damage caused by a storm. I hope, next time it will be better. Otherwise our 15m long sailboat could find a good place.

Beautiful little town. Well worth a visit.
Loads of little craft shops, tourist shops, ice creams shops and the Svaneke brewery.
Beware the Bornholm mega ice cream cone is bloody huge! :)
The Østerlars Kirke in Bornholm, Denmark, is a simple yet impressive round church that was constructed around 1150. It is the largest of its kind in Denmark and served as a fortress in the past with its seven buttresses and shooting positions. Originally built with a flat roof for battle purposes, it later had to be replaced due to excessive weight on the walls. The interior has been mostly whitewashed although medieval frescoes have been uncovered and restored.
Really a well preserved and beautiful church ⛪️🤩😍.
They even allow you to go all the way up, and have a nice story - telling both up-and downstairs, about the area and the church itself.
Definitely worth a visit!

Clearly an unusual design. The unpainted entrance is said to be historically for women. The font is in a circle within the circle of the church, giving a very intimate feel to the baptism service.

Really cool experience to see one of these round churches inside as well as outside. We entered the church and walked to the top. It’s very narrow and steep but still worth a visit if you walk carefully. It’s beautifully constructed. There is a shop nearby where you can enjoy a coffee or a light snack.

Old circular formed church originally from the XII'th century, romanic style, built as a fortress with thick defence walls with arrowslits. Upper part able to be visited, where an explanatory exhibition is displayed.

An amazing Bornholm round church.
There is a small entrance fee, make sure you take a leaflet with more information on the church.
There is a narrow staircase to the second floor and attic, which will only allow 1 person to go up or down. On the second floor there is some more information about the church, but unfortunately only in Danish.
The attic gives you a view on how the roof is held together: amazing woodwork.

The biggest of the round churches. Definitely worth a visit also inside the church but then only if you have no trouble walking up some uneven/narrow steps.

Great place to visit! Kids love the old stairs up and around in the Church.

Quite a magnificent church. Located centrally in Bornholm, reaching here is dependent on public transport and can be a little troublesome if you miss your bus. If you are on private transport this place is a must see. Remember to climb to the top of the Church for some good countryside views.
The imposing Hammershus Castle Ruins, constructed by the church in 1200, are Scandinavia's largest and situated atop a dramatic cliff 74m above sea level. The castle is believed to have been built during the early 1300s. Visitors to Bornholm must walk through this evocative site and take in the breathtaking views.
WOW! Such a beautiful place to visit. If you have kids and if you are danish you can download an app with a scavenger hunt which will keep the kids entertained while you walk around. You can bring your own food or eat something at the cafe after you have strolled around the place. It’s a must-see if you ask me. So much history and so much to learn of you want.
Kristina Kunz — Google review
The castle it self was nice. We like it. The food however. Nice food but the servings are too large - especially for kids(8) but also for most adults. I understand that to justify kr 125,- it has to be a certain size. They have the option of a doggy bag, but not much order on a kids plate after dining. We had the burger menu.

What an impressive ruins! They are still quite in tact and are great to wander through and explore.
In the winter, the info centre is not open, but you can still walk up to and around the castle.
There are great coastal views and you are actually quite high up!
There are information signs around, so you do learn a bit. Enjoy the many view points and benches where you can sit to take it all in.
There are a number of sections fenced off at the moment, but everything is still very accessible.
I really enjoyed exploring this area!

Well-preserved castle ruins that is open for free visit, with great view to the surrounding coastal cliffs. There is a visitor center across the ruins which provides a good view and historical information, also free to visit. They have a café/restaurant, gift shop and toilets there. Make sure to walk around by the coastal path hiking trail ("Kyststien") behind the ruins as well for more spectacular panoramas!

Nice place to see. Nice view and ruins also looks interesting. Recommend to add this to your list when visit Bornholm. Only parking and minimum 6 h parking is a bit of scam.

Hammerhus Castle ruins were absolutely incredible! The beauty of the ancient remnants was truly awe-inspiring. However, during my visit, there was some ongoing construction work, which slightly affected the overall experience. Additionally, the winds were quite strong, which added to the dramatic atmosphere but made exploring a bit challenging. Nonetheless, the historical significance and stunning views made it a memorable visit despite the minor inconveniences.

This was a highlight of our holiday and definitely worth a visit. The museum was well done and helped to explain the history of the castle. In addition, we actually loved the gift shop (pottery and great books about Bornholm).
The ruins themselves were magnificent. Seeing them up close and getting a better sense of their scale was so worthwhile. We enjoyed walking around and constantly being in awe of what they built so long ago. And of course, the view is beautiful as well, overlooking the sea.
Amy Collins — Google review
It is an amazing piece of danish history and culture, and it is definitely a must visit place in bornholm. The ruins itself is a must-see, but with the signs both up in the ruins and in the visit centre itself makes it a possibility for both danish and foreign people to learn and read about the historical value of hammershus

Over 800 years of pure history for this ruins of a castle that is located nicely with a wonderful view. It is free and well maintained. The pictures would never give you the full impression of what it looks like. Just have to be there.
A beautiful place to go for outing. This island deserves your whole day. It's lovely! It has got a lot of attractions (only if you love nature). No matter from which point you look around, the view is always amazing. It has everything you look for, in an island. Highly recommended.

The permanent exhibits are interesting but a little aging. There are some nice interactives but many are broken or not working properly (one of the remote-controlled boats, the water power station in the park, the mouth-like musical instrument, among others). The dinosaur exhibit was great for my 4 year-old! He loved the animated robots, the digging, shadow theater and painting activities. But for older kids it might be a little boring. Besides these activities the exhibit itself does not have much interaction or information. I felt a lack of docents/educators to give out information, help us use the interactives or present special activities. I was not told about the fossil hunting that took place outside when we entered, which was a real shame, I only saw it when it was too late! In summary, we had a great time but many things could be improved.

Really great for kids. You can just let them run around and tell them where to meet you in a couple hours. Many different activities that are fun. You can make your own paper, play with remote control boats and many other things. There was also a cinema, but we didn't go to it. The outside part was also nice, and had many different things to do as well. Recommend it to people with kids aged 10-14.

Beautiful Cathedral with amazing interiors and furnishings. The glass works are just stunning, if I'm not wrong I think they were made by Swedish glass company Kosta Boda with designs by famous glass artist Bertil Vallien among other artists from different periods. A must when visiting Vaxio. The cathedral provides a combination of architectural styles but what is truly attractive is the modern pieces, especially the new font and the altarpiece designed by a famous contemporary artist and which offers a full tale (front and even back!) of various religious stories and symbolism, including a very personal memory from the artist himself. The original church dates back to the XII century but has undergone many refurbishments and alteration. Its unique history and variety of styles offer tourist a depiction of the history of the city and Sweden.

Western-style park with a recreated town hosting live action stunt shows & fun learning experiences.
Pretty cool place! A U.S. inspired western theme park. There's no rides, but there are shops and shows.
Tracey H — Google review
High Chaparral - The place where gun safety goes to die. All in all, a great experience, but with some notable downsides.
The theme park itself is one-of-a-kind in Sweden and Scandinavia. Its theme is centered around the classical idea of the Wild West, with "Indians vs. Cowboys", Pioneers and Settlers, Trappers, Zorro, Mexico and the Civil War all intermingled.
The parking is widespread, but it really needs some kind of pedestrian walkway or sidewalk. Right now, you'll end up walking down the main road with your family while hundreds of distracted drivers are cruising by, desperately looking for a parking spot.
By the entrance you will face a long and winding queue. The good thing is that this queue is rather fast moving. But this will not be your last queue. Inside the park, you will face queue after queue for most things. Entering the gun store, ordering hamburgers at a restaurant, boarding the paddle-steamer, buying a ticket for the train, etc. We waited for over 40 minutes before having our burgers, and were lucky to get a seat as seating is extremely limited.
The major disappointments were:
(1) the unclean bathrooms;
(2) the non-existent enforcement or encouragement of pandemic precautions; and
(3) the general lack of [drinking] water taps and hand sanitizers.
As for hand sanitizers, there were hand sanitizers in a few locations, but these had been deliberately camouflaged to fit in with the style of the theme park, so they were pretty much invisible to the naked eye. As for drinking water, we found the occasional water tap for dogs, and hidden away behind a fence, a sole lonely water tap presumably for human use.
Age-wise, I would say the park is best suited for kids aged 7-13. It enhances the experience if the kids are already familiar with Zorro, Lucky Luke and the classical tropes of settlers, pioneers, trappers, "indians" and "cowboys". Bring your own food, drink and hand sanitizer would be my advice for parents, and you will have a great time as long as you have fortunate weather.

Lund Cathedral, an iconic Lutheran church constructed in the 1100s, boasts a unique astronomical clock and weekend organ concerts. The Romanesque cathedral is known for its twin towers and impressive wooden figures that come to life during the striking of In Dulci Jubilo. Finn, a mythological giant who helped with construction, can be found within the crypt along with a comically carved 16th-century well.
A little Swedish wonder. I enjoyed everything in this cathedral: the historical context for its building (the artificial creation of several bishops to gain the autonomy against the archbishop of the Hanseatic league), the sculptures on the stalls, the crypt and its couple of evil giants turned into stones, the permanent clock, etc.

Lund Cathedral is a stunning masterpiece of architecture and history. Stepping inside, you're instantly transported through centuries of Swedish heritage and religious significance. The intricately carved details, towering ceilings, and beautiful stained glass windows create a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection and admiration. Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or simply seeking a moment of tranquility, Lund Cathedral offers a captivating experience. Its central location in the charming city of Lund makes it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring southern Sweden. Don't miss the opportunity to marvel at this magnificent gem of Scandinavian culture and spirituality.

I've heard good things about the Lund Cathedral, unfortunately when I went, there was a service and guest couldn't go in. The exterior was also under renovation, along with the building next to it. I would not recommend to come during April due to all the events, and also not on a Sunday. The exterior though looked OK, hopefully I can come back in the future when everything's completed.

During our visit to Lund Cathedral, we were treated to a truly remarkable experience. Consecrated in 1145, the cathedral holds significant historical importance and houses numerous renowned artifacts. The medieval clock and 11th-century crypt are just a couple of the fascinating features within. It comes as no surprise that the cathedral attracts over 700,000 visitors annually. With three stars in the Guide Michelin's Green guide, it stands as a prominent example of Roman architecture. The best part was that entrance to the cathedral was free, and nearby parking spaces were readily available. The friendly church staff added to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, our visit to Lund Cathedral was a treat for the eyes and a captivating journey through history.

Very interesting castle, it's amazing how well preserved it is. Staff is very friendly. The only slight inconvenience is that english guide is available only at 11am on the weekends, but an english guide book is provided, which is great - I would advice to have around 2 hours to explore the castle and read historical references.

Amazing place for history lovers (and I'd say for ghost story lovers as well). An amazingly well-preserved building from the 1470s. Packed full of history - for example king Gustav Vasa visited there in the 1500s, and one of his wives came from Torpa Stenhus. Also several ghost stories. We took a guided tour and the woman was amazing! I think she is only there in the summer though, not sure how it works the rest of the year.

We missed the English tour it was at 11am. However we were given a guide folder to use. The lady on the entrance told us if we could not find a room come back and see her. WOW I thought she was joking......the place is like a Warren. Loads of different levels. Huge narrow steep stone stair cases (medieval). Be a little wary if unsure on your feet or balance. Hold the hand rails. What an absolute fantastic hour or 2 we had. Our 16 year old loved it, younger kids will do as well.
The cafe in the grounds as you park is also great and NOT expensive.

An historic house in beautiful surroundings. The house itself was very interesting to explore. We were given a tour by a guide who spoke both Swedish and English, which was very useful. There is a lot of text around the house explaining the history of the family but it's all only in Swedish, so the guide is pretty essential if you don't speak/read Swedish (like me) as you wouldn't really get much out of the visit. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very nice and pretty good price. I visited here with family and we didn't spend that long here but if you wanted to read up on the history and explore the surrounding area a bit you could spend a full day here.

Amazing place. Nice castle from the 1500's that kept a lot of its old look and feel. You can visit the entire castle from the dungeon to the attic. Many stairs so keep that in mind. Staff was friendly and the tour in english was good.

Such a lovely area to visit, even when the main house is closed it's still worth a visit. Beautiful scenery, calm and perfect for hiking.
