Entrance in this Basilica is free just be aware that if if they are on service they don't allow tourist to take pictures I actually waited for the service to be over to take a couple pictures and it was fine the ceiling of this Cathedral is so beautiful.

Much more impressive than the cathedral IMO. Gorgeous, gorgeous place, esp the ceiling!

Gorgeous holy paintings on the ceilings! This is probably my most favourite place in Valencia, since it’s free entry but also the inside is so precious. There are seats inside so if you’d like to sit or pray, there is space for everyone.

This is a quaint beautiful Church in the main Plaza in Valencia.
It is smaller than most places, it remians very peaceful inside. Being Catholic, I value my time in Churches when travelling. It is important for me to be able to pray peacefully, even if there are people who come just to see the place.
There is a small shop on the way out to get a small remembrance or in my case a gift for my Mom.
Some construction going on so be mindful of that when entering.

This is a very beautiful church in Valencia. It has a modest exterior but the interior is breathtaking. The ceiling is a marvelous sight.

A majestic place to walk in and soak in the architecture and religion. The ceiling is truly a work of art and worth your time (it is free entry).

Basilica de la Virgen de los Desamparados stands on Virgen Square near the apse of Valencia Cathedral. The two temples are connected by a covered gallery. The pearl of the temple collection is the painting of the dome vault. It was completed in the 18th century by the theoretician painter Antonio Palomino. The ceiling lamp depicts a bright vault of heaven.

It's so beautiful and majesty with the great history and in honour of the symbol of Valencia protectress Sant Virgin. The architecture, style is high noteworthy for fans. It is all about the plung in medieval. But contemporary locals respect this place as well and annually organisation of Virgin ceremonial get-up takes place here.
Oksana Kolisnyk — Google review
This Basilica is dedicated to the patrient Saint of Valencia. The actual Basilica from the outside looks like a normal Building. Once inside it's not that big but stunning ceiling paintings and carved marble structures are breathtaking. The Valencian people really hold this church dear to their hearts.

Parc Natural de l'Albufera is a large freshwater lagoon and estuary situated on the outskirts of Valencia. The park is home to an array of endangered aquatic and terrestrial species, which can be observed in their natural habitats within the Devesa forest and restored dunes. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks, boat tours, and nature viewing amidst picturesque scenery featuring rice fields, forests, and stunning sunsets.
It’s true that it’s a famous and crowded tourist attraction, but it’s worth it.
Be aware that there is no store for food or drinks nearby this place. So take your own. And get fully prepared for the chilly weather during the sunset, especially if you plan to take the boat tour.
If you go there by public transportation on weekends, the chances are you might need 30 or more minutes for the bus to come and take you home.
Fang He — Google review
Very small, not very beautiful town. Boat rides on old boats. Rice fields only nice looking in particular season.
Magdalena — Google review
I'm not sure we actually were in the park bit we did visit El Palmar twice. The paella here is dramatically better than most places in central Valencia. If you like boats the boat rides are inexpensive and 40 to 60 minutes. The town itself is not interesting at all.
Sean Essex — Google review
If you are in Valencia and love nature and dusk then please please take some time to visit this place. An absolutely panoramic view of the sun setting at the end of lake filled horizon. You can also book a boat to yourself to view the sunset. If lucky, you may encounter with the park’s own wildlife that trails like a jungle safari. This is the most enchanting evening spend I had in Valencia. Seriously, don’t miss it.
Sushrut Timilsina — Google review
It was worth the wait for the last boat trip at 5.15pm in El Palmar. It was €6 and lasting for an hour. The boat stopped in the middle of the lagoon for passengers to view the sunset. Do wear a jumper. The problem was everything was closed incl restaurants and toilets when the boat trip ended. I had to hang around in the cold for 45 mins for the bus going back to Valencia. Otherwise, the experience was fantastic.

The boat ride is a MUST.
We booked our tickets in advance for the sunset ride. Since it was cloudy, we couldn’t see a perfect sunset but the boat ride was worth. It was an hour ride in total.
You can feel the stillness and calm when they stop the boat in the middle of the lake.

We had booked an excursion to Albufera Natural Park with a boat trip at sunset. This was with a guide, who gave us a lot of information about the nature reserve. It is a beautiful nature reserve, you can walk there and there are signs everywhere with explanations. You can also spot birds there.
It is an ideal park to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle in the center of Valencia.
laura h — Google review
We got a tour bus out which included a boat ride and lunch. The boat ride was only 30 minutes max so we then had another 3.5 hours hanging around the town. The park itself is more of a nature reserve. We only saw a few ducks. Not worth the trip out in my opinion.

Highly recommend the boat trip from El Tio Pastella. 20 euros for the whole family for about an hour. Great way to see the Albufera.

There are excellent bus connections from Valencia to Albufera! Do not miss the boat tour.

Mooie plek met een fietspad er doorheen. Ook de mogelijkheid een boottochtje op het meer te gaan maken en lekkere paella te eten in El Palmar. De zonsondergang op het meer is prachtig.

Nice place with a cycle path through it. Also the opportunity to take a boat trip on the lake and eat delicious paella in El Palmar. The sunset on the lake is beautiful.

Day out to relax and enjoy the nature.
Take a half an hour trip on a boat around the lake (€4) and enjoy fantastic paella in one of the local tiny restaurants.
I couldn't spot any public toilets around, but if you stop for a quick beer here and there, you can use the restaurant facilities

The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an extremely impressive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park with a huge aquarium & IMAX screen. The architect Santiago Calatrava is largely responsible for the stunning architecture, which has been met with mixed reactions from Valencians. It's well worth visiting for the beauty and scale of the buildings, as well as the variety of exhibits on offer.
Amazing place. One of my favorite spots and definitely a must visit if you are in Valencia. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and the architecture is just amazing. It includes different buildings, each one really beautiful and overall is a great place for pictures and for taking a walk.
I bought a ticket that included visits to the science museum, a movie and the aquarium. I do not think the entrance to all of these it's worth it, but you can try, specially if you come with children.
Andr?s Zamudio — Google review
I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises.
To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures.
We love the water entertainment too.
Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳
Mida Hardo — Google review
Much fun for kids and grown ups. The science museum is one of the most interactive ones I've been to.
The aquarium was well maintained, even though a bit expensive.
Took us the good part of a whole day to cover both, ideally they should be done one a day. Buy your tickets in advance for sure, even for weekdays.

Special place, different and a must visit if you are in Valencia. Well served by means of transport and 10 minutes from the center. Futuristic structure, you can visit the botanical garden. the science museum, the innovation pavilion and what is on offer in the period you are in. Unfortunately, we came across a short period of exhibition and we still appreciated the architecture, the beautiful swimming pool with the equipment that you can rent. A moment of relaxation. You can also rent bicycles to go to the park next door or visit the exhibition space which is very large.
Max Martinuzzi — Google review
Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view.
I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.
Vio Banciu — Google review
If you like Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is amazing and provides countless photo opportunities. The only downside was that when I visited (mid June 2023) there was a stage built by the science building that obscured many views and I understood it was there all summer as they had a number of concerts planned in the space. Also, at night it appeared that a lot of the lights went off at 10pm, and only the opera building seemed to leave the lights on later.
Michael Sutherland — Google review
The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site.
You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive.
Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times.
If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while.
Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

Must visit when in Valencia. You can walk from central Valencia in apparently 50 min or you can take a bus or a tram. Definitely very impressive! Spanish modern architecture to its T. I loved everything about it. There’s some restaurants and bathrooms if you are looking for one. Highly recommend.
Artur Stec — Google review
Beautiful architecture and color scheme! It has many things to see and do. And is always full of people tourists, locals and students in large groups. The exhibits inside the water spaces are beautiful pierces of art. There are several shopping and eating places within walking distance.
Tarang Srivastava — Google review
Absolutely loved this place as the glass and skeleton like architecture goes so well with the water surrounding the buildings. The buildings and gardens are maintained well and they are very clean. We happened to visit when there was a Christmas market which was lovely as they had a variety of food stalls and gift shops. We didn’t enter any of the buildings but a walk around here and the park is a great way to spend the day!
Julia SH — Google review
It's really a treasure. Beautiful and a wow architecture and romantic environment. I did not have opportunity to visit inside buildings but from outside its so unique. Worth to see
Sanaz Nik — Google review
Great place to visit with kids or kids at heart. Lots of interactive displays set in a very beautifully designed building. Worth the visit just to explore the building.
Also tickets are reasonably priced compared to some of the close by attractions.

Amazing place. It looks like it’s from the future and I love it. You need to spend a full day there to really enjoy. I spent most of the time in the museum of Science and I loved the concept. There was a section for history of music, for the earth and mars and also different experiments you could try about a lot of scientific subjects. It is very educational and fund for children and people of all ages. I had fun.

These amazing futuristic buildings in Valencia are a must see. We visited on a cruise and the shuttle bus dropped up in the town centre where there are plenty of historic buildings to view. But I wanted to see the HEMISFERIC structure and other "star trek style futuristic buildings" and WOW WOW WOW. Thanks to Google maps and a cheap local bus ride to get us there.
glyn moore (ytgvmtv) — Google review
The low rating is specifically for the science museum. I paid €9 and it was a total waste of money. The building itself is incredible, but you can see it for free from the outside. The exhibits inside are 90% Spanish with no translations. Everything felt disorganized which was a shame given how much space they had to work with. This could’ve been an amazing place to visit, but save your money and just walk through the lobby and visit the outside areas.

The Oceanographic aquarium in Valencia is the largest of its kind in Europe and contains nearly 500 different species of marine life. The building owes its impressive concrete roofing to the architect Felix Candela, who designed it as a magical space of water and wildlife. Visitors are able to explore different sections of the aquarium over the course of four hours, and it is definitely worth reserving time in your itinerary in Valencia to visit!
This is one of the best attractions in Valencia. Some people in their reviews say you will be done in an hour and a half but we spend over 2 hours and we enjoyed every minute. We spend so much time watching each of the animals, they were all so amazing to see. The dolphin show is around 10 am or 11 so get there early as the seats fill up fast. Some of the best parts were the sea lions, the flamingos, and the most unique part was the tunnel where you walk underneath stingrays, manta rays, sharks, jellyfish. You can see their features up close it's amazing.

Amazing. A must see even if you don't have children. We had an absolute ball here. The day was a long one so be prepared to eat on site to make sure you get to see every attraction. Very worth the price and long day. The children and the grandparents loved it.

We have purchased tickets in advance, but can be purchased at spot. Plenty of parking, daily rate was 7 euro, with additional ticket taken in shops. A lot of connecting buildings, map can be taken at info point. Kids loved it, plenty to see and experience. We stayed about 6 hours and were able to see everything (about 8k steps :))

I visited L'Oceanogràfic on a rainy day in Valencia, and it turned out to be the perfect indoor activity. The aquarium is massive and incredibly well-maintained. The sea life creatures appear happy and healthy, making it a truly enjoyable experience. It was a fantastic decision for a rainy day outing.
The location is awesome, the parking is quite convenient.
I’d recommend to book the tickets in advance. This place can get quite busy on weekends and holidays.
Bharat Balakrishnan — Google review
I think it is a bit expensive for what you can see in the aquarium. Some animals, like the penguins were kept in a very small space and the dolphin show was a bit uncomfortable to watch, there are like 18 of them in a pool that is not big enough for them to swim and more so being so many of them being kept there...
I liked the layout, that you can be outside from one part of the Aquarium to another, but for that money I was expecting the animals to be in bigger and better places, sort of like the aquarium in Lisbon.
Also most of the vending machines were broken and it was very difficult to get a drink.
But overall it was good, especially the tunnel where you could enjoy seeing a great variety of sea life swimming around!
Memi GM — Google review
So much more than an aquarium. We spent hours there and didn't get to see it all. The kids had a great time hoping from one creature exhibit to the next. The animals all seem to be top priority and well cared for. So many different animals to see and very up close.
Tye dolphin show was a clear favourite. Lots of fun and amazing tricks. Make sure you arrive early because there is limited seating.
Stephanie C — Google review
The place in total was really cool, and we had great experiences there. They had everything from tropical fish, to birds to penguins! They also had a dolphin show, which happens every few hours, and that was white cool also, and they also translated everything. Which was good. It does take a long time to visit everything, and I would say you need at least 5 hours to visit everything. The tickets were quite expensive, as for everything, we ended up paying 170€ for 4 adults and 1 child. The food there was also very good, however it was slightly expensive too. Overall, the place was really cool, and I would recommend. But beware, we went here even when it wasn't the crowded season, and it was still pretty full, so you might want to buy tickets earlier, depending on what time of year you want to go.

A magnificent aquarium. You can spend almost a full day in it. An aquarium that hosts animals that you may not see in your life. It is very pleasant to walk in. Every detail is very well thought out. You can also coincide with events inside. There was an event with dolphins. Although I was against the use of animals in these events for commercial reasons, it was a good event. I felt sorry for the small area reserved for penguins. I am saddened by the confinement of living things that were brought from their natural habitats to small spaces.

Boss day out. Kids love it here. Lots to do and seem food is good but expensive. Toilets everywhere which is always a plus with 4 little kids. Not like your usual aquarium can spend a good part of the day here and not go bored. Dolphin show is good. So are the shark area. Lots of good stuff and good staff. 4D show is also good abs with the extra for the shark one.
William Burnett — Google review
Huge place that will require several hours for the best visit. Make sure to keep your kids well fed and happy to ensure that everyone will have a good time in yours and the others' groups.
The exhibition will be crowded at times so have patience.
The dolphin show is a must see. I watched it twice because, to be honest, it was a bit hard to follow. Young children around me thought the dolphin show was too much talk and too little action. When something cool actually happened they missed it because they didn't know where to look.I also weren't prepared when and where they would perform a trick.
Penguins would have been so fun to see but the window on that exhibition was a bit dirty and had water droplets all over it making it a bit hard to see clearly. This diminished the possibilities of an amazing, once in a lifetime, experience.
All in all, at first I thought it felt expensive but was actually very good value for money. If you visit Valencia and have the time and the money, go there.
Photo Deus — Google review
Had a very nice experience with my family here. It was the main thing we enjoyed in Valencia. For anyone that is a lover of animals and oceanic life than I would recommend spending a couple hours here. We also got to witness the dolphin show where they taught us about the latest technology used in research and I found that really interesting.
NOTE: We bought our tickets at the front office like a lot of other people. Definitely don’t need to book in advance unless you want to skip the line.

Amazing place. A must if you can - especially good for children. Sooo much to see. Be prepared for lots of walking both inside and out - place is enormous but very well designed and organised. Huge selection of rays and sharks. Beluga whales were the highlight for us and we feel privileged to have seen them.
Highly recommended buying tickets online beforehand
Liz Woolfitt — Google review
Recommending buying tickets in advance so you can skip the line. Need to know exact day and time of the visit to do so. There are some discounts if you buy combo tickets with other landmarks in the city. You can google it to see which ones. Also you need at least 4 hours to see all parts of the place, its really big. Dolphins show is worth it.
Radosveta Petrova — Google review
Such a great aquarium. I’ve visited many aquariums and this one is definitely top 5. So many different animals to see. I liked how they separated most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). They had very informative signs. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn’t feel overly crowded. We had a great time.
Widnelly Canales — Google review
Amazing marine life centre, a must see. Amazing design and layout and plenty to see. Informative and instructional for adults and children. Good restaurant with table service and a reasonably priced food selection of food from the menu. The portions were very large as well. Highly recommended.

I did not know what to expect, but this place is really special. The buildings and facilities are amazing. You really need to 3 to 4 hours to see all well. The Delphine show is good (included as part of ticket price), but not super amazing, however it’s great for kids to learn. The shark tunnel is fantastic!
Roberto Carton — Google review
A diverse range of aquatic life on exhibit. Displays with an environmental theme are located throughout and feature powerful statements about pollution & plastics. Food services were not plentiful on site, but there are many nearby. Entrance price was a bit steep, but comparable to similar attractions in major cities.
Barbara Williams — Google review
This is definitely 100 times better than bioparc. It's got a huge space almost like the Disneyland of aquariums. It's easy to spend 4-6 hours here except the food options are terrible here so some people suggested bringing your own food. The dolphin show also is very boring, maybe it's very humane and kind to the dolphins but there was 70 percent lecture on saving the dolphins and 30 percent show. Kids couldn't even sit through it, the Spanish audience were the best though, they were singing and dancing thru the music which was much more interesting than the disorganized dolphins. To compare, even a tiny aquarium in Hokkaido Japan had a better dolphin show. However they do have some really cool tanks. I
There was one underwater tunnel they had Atlantic fish which was not so pretty bit there was another tunnel with sharks and tortoises. It's very cool. The bird case was a cool structure but looks better from the outside than from the inside. The octopus is totally cool to look at. The whole area is pretty big but it's not too hard to walk it all. Not really sure I saw it all but the kids were too tired to keep going after 5 hours. Highly recommend the sharks, penguins, belugas, flamingos and the octopus. Very very fun place. Worth the entrance.

This place is a true gem, and here's why:
The Oceanographic is incredibly well-maintained, showcasing an impeccable level of care for both the marine life and the visitors. The size of the facility is impressive, offering a vast and diverse array of exhibits to explore. It's like stepping into a world of aquatic diversity and beauty.
One of the standout features of the Oceanographic is its cleanliness. Everywhere I looked, the facility gleamed with cleanliness, making the visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for both the animals and guests.
The exhibit layout is both extensive and well-organized, with various buildings dedicated to different marine themes. Whether you're fascinated by sharks, mesmerized by dolphins, or curious about penguins, there's something here for everyone. The diverse range of exhibits ensures that you'll never run out of new and exciting things to see.
The quality of the exhibits and the welfare of the marine life were top-notch. It's clear that the Oceanographic is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. From playful dolphins to majestic jellyfish, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Hands down the best aquarium I have ever been too - A great variety of spaces and stunning marine life, all in pristine facilities. We went there thinking it would be a couple of hours, but easily spent 4 - 5 enjoyable hours. Dolphins were definitely a highlight 🐬
Would certainly recommend going if you get the chance. Plenty of choices for food if you get hungry too - Great place for a family trip out

Fantastic place! We spent over 7 hours here, strolling around the outdoor exhibits, watching the dolphin show, and going through the many underground exhibits showcasing a wide variety of fish including sharks, rays and eels, as well as turtles, seals, beluga whales, and penguins. And so many birds - flamingos, ducks, ibis, swans, and spoonbills. Take your time! It's well worth the price of admission.
This aquarium is well maintained and clean. Animals appear well taken care of. Staff are very friendly and most speak English.
We went in January, with no lineups, but still recommend buying tickets online ahead of time. Got to go straight in! Be aware you can bring in water bottles to drink, but no food allowed. This is to make sure you don't feed the animals. Reasonable request considering the circumstances!
This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Valencia. Highly recommend going for the day!

This aquarium is so pretty!
There are a lot to see : beluga, turtles, pingouins, birds, crocodiles and more.
You can easily spend half a day there and there are some restaurants/fast foods to treat yourself.
I visited Oceanographic as an adult but I was as excited as a child. Would 100% recommend it, especially if you have kids.

Awesome. We loved it. The spaces are out of this world. I love how it puts a lot of focus on the environment. We booked the backstage tour that takes you inside and explain how the water filtration works. Our guide Nuria was very knowledgeable and replied all our questions.
Also in case anyone needs it there are lockers, the size might fit a very small carry on, but otherwise I wouldn't take any luggage with you here.
We also tried the 4D movie theater, it was very good. An amazing experience, I believe it was only 3 euros. It's a must see in Valencia.

Wow what a big and beautiful aquarium.
I’ve visited some aquariums and I’ve never been to one where they pay so much attention to the animals and how big their living environments are.
This is how we’ve ended up spending almost 4,5 hours here, something we couldn’t imagine beforehand. There are a lot different animals to see. Very good of the park to separate most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). Must say that the signage in English is very good and placed at every item.

Fuente de los Baños is a collection of thermal springs located in a river gorge surrounded by lush greenery. The river features stone beaches and offers opportunities for swimming in its warm blue-green waters. The area has both shallow and deep sections with rocky or sandy bottoms, as well as other pools along the valley. Visitors are advised to bring sandals and a blanket due to the gravelly or grassy terrain around the pools.
This place is absolutely stunning! Set deep in the mountain it is well worth the drive alone as the scenery is breathtaking!
The water is crystal clear, there is plenty of space to sit with a picnic or you can go to the cafe for drinks and ice creams. There are toilets at the cafe as well, although they could do with being refurbished.
I highly reccomend coming to spend the day here as there is so much to see. Around ever corn (weather it be at the river or walking round the mountain), there is more and more to see. It is just beautiful!

Deep inside the Spanish countryside and you'll find this gem. The parking is a 10 minute walk away from the main area, but there are pools on the way there if you want to get away from the crowd. The water is coldish, but totally tolerable. There's a nearby town with everything one would need.

Great place to visit and enjoy some nice warm water. They say it is 25 degrees all year round but if there's a cold breeze it will be a bit chilly or at least feel colder. the water itself is wonderful and during weekdays it was not that crowded.

This stunning place is so worth the drive into the mountains. It's very popular, no doubt especially over the weekends, but there seems to be plenty of space for all. Although there's a charge for parking (2,40€ for two hours in Sep 2018), there is no admission charge to access the bathing area. There are toilets / changing rooms and a modest bar serving drinks and snacks, including hamburgers and bocadillos. The actual spring is just below the bar area as is the main bathing area. The water is cool but so worth the effort getting in. Some people enjoy the fish biting at the feet, others not. And don't miss out taking a swim into the narrow gorge and explore the caves. Great fun and certainly recommended.

Wonderful natural gem...worth a visit especially off season with no ticket office in operation. In the summer it can get very congested
... The water is crystal clear with a constant 25 degrees...warm enough even for winter dip. The drive from Valencia is very scenic...

This is more than a swimming hole, it's a gently flowing river with warm mineral springs jetting in. The river has carved a deep canyon and caves from the land. The water is a lovely turquoise.
The river is not too deep. You can walk most of the way in about 4' of water. Some spots require a bit of swimming. If you keep going around the bend and through a narrow part, there's a place you can jump in - about 10-12' high.

Great place to chill and enjoy some quiet and relaxing time. This is a thermal spring where the water is 25 degrees all year round , however if it is a bit windy and going there between march and april it might be quite chilly because of the low temperature outside. Overall a great experience for us with a 5 year old.

Amazing! Shame you can't let your dogs swim but I do understand. *You can take them to the free section further down the river. We camped in our van in the carpark and entered the baths before the ticket man gets there so it was free! Usually he gets there at 10am.

Absolutely beautiful. Swimming here is delightful. The underwater cave is impressive and the water is literally transparent. Love it! Don’t forget to pay for the parking.

A beautiful place to swim through a canyon in warm blue-green water. The river is shallow to begin with, knee deep and very rocky, rising to chest deep and with a sandier bottom then, as you approach the bend, the water is too deep to stand, before getting shallow again further on.
There are a number of other shallower pools too, along the river valley, but all with stoney and rocky bottoms. Take sandals and a blanket as the ground around the pools is either loose sharp gravel, or scrubby grass. There are also stone walls and benches to sit on.
We went on Saturday 29 April 2023 and there was 3,50€ entrance fee each. Near the largest and deepest swimming pool with the fuente taps, there is a cafe-bar, toilets and changing rooms.
You can walk along the river from Montanejos for approx 1.5km and pay part-way along, near where the CV-195 bridge crosses the valley. Or park just off the CV-195 here, or further up the CV-20 very close to the Fuente de los Baños (for a fee in both car parks).

Definitely in no way warm, but very pretty and food prices weren't too bad. We walked quite a way down the river to where there are many rock climbers and almost got hit by a falling rock, so watch your head

A weekday swim on a not exactly hot October afternoon- water was balmy, parking easy, magnificent setting & drive through mountains. Note: cafe & toilets shut as off season but village with amenities nearby. Great place to visit- skin & hair super soft right after.

A short walk from a car park and you will reach this not-a-large but a beautiful wild place in a rock valley with a greenish reflecting river. Bathing here is very refreshing. No crowds at the beginning of September.

This place is not "thermal" and I can see that has led to a lot of poor reviews. But once you get over that this place is phenomenal. You walk through clear water, there is fish swimming about under you and if you don't keep moving you even feel them have a nibble!! You can swim through the canyons and if you have the courage you can keep going well away from the touristy spots. It's absolutely stunning. There is a site toilet and cafe and it's a short but pretty wall to the spring itself. We went at lunchtime during a weekday and it wasn't overcrowded (it got busier around 3 when tours came)

Nice place , very well organised, plenty of parking places. Probably during the summer months on weekends can be very crowded. Impressive canyon and the hot spring water is very enjoyable.

Visited this area in Feb 2023. The water is nice and clear, the surrounding area looked tired and unfortunately lots of dog mess, even though it states no dogs allowed.
There was no charge for parking or entrance to the Thermal River as it was out of season.
Lots of hiking in the surrounding mountains.
Malvarrosa beach in Valencia is a 1km-long city beach with soft sand and a bustling promenade lined with shops and restaurants. It's a popular spot for sunbathing, strolling along the waterfront, and enjoying outdoor cafes, bars, and clubs during the summer months. Accessible by public transportation, it offers a more relaxed and local atmosphere compared to Las Arenas beach.
Nice beach with a lot of facilities of sports and activities with shower facilities. There are many restaurants in the pathway good place to be out and enjoy.

The beach is huge, clean and inviting...
I didn't get the impression that it was overly crowded, probably because of the large space - you can relax, read, relax and will not feel overwhelmed...
In the afternoon, it is also worth visiting because of the beach volleyball matches. The atmosphere is definitely cheerful and friendly.

Very nice beach, which also has the beach bar on the sand area. There are not so many establishments (bars, restaurants, souvenirs shops, etc.) like at the las Arenas, but one can find many other paella and other restaurants nearby. Mobility between the other beaches is very easy, one can get from one to other within 10 minutes just walking across the sand area or concrete paths.

The beach is very beautiful, easily accessible, with very fair rental prices for umbrellas, €7 per umbrella and €5 for chairs. The kiosks sell various drinks at an attractive price. Family environment, calm sea, perfect.

Really nice long beach, soft sand, comfortable water temperature all of August. Not much undertow as the waves are normally minimal so it's popular with families. There are walkways to take you out across the sand, and public showers / footbaths. I've been here numerous times over the last month, often for sunrise, before it gets crowded. The public restrooms open around mid-late morning maybe 10:30ish. There are a couple of portolets open by 7:30am if you really need a place to go. The city cleans the beach early every morning, empties all the trashcans, and even manicures the sand with tractors. There are also police on 4-wheelers patrolling after about 8am or so. I have a waterproof pouch to take a little cash, credit card, keys, and the public transport pass. There are trams that take you from downtown to the beach in about 20 minutes.

My wife and I took the tram from the city almost to the coast and enjoyed this really beautiful beach. Swimming and sunbathing is a real pleasure. However, it is necessary to bring a deckchair and a parasol. Great feelings and lots of enjoyment in the sun caressing you.

About 30 minutes by public transport from Old Valencia, this beach has a nice promenade and walkway that you can walk on for over an hour. The distance between sand and shore is long, allowing for ample space for sun worshippers.
The water level as you enter the ocean from here stays shallow for a good few meters, which is good for families and kids to play in. Umbrellas (7 euros), reclining beach beds (7 euros), and folding chairs (5 euros) as of July 2023.

Had a wonderful time at Malvarrosa beach in the shoulder season (mid-October). Very quiet, pleasant temperatures in the mid-morning and late evening.
Shower and foot washing facilities, plenty of eateries lining the coast which are not ridiculously overpriced. The water is a pleasant temperature, and remains below head height about 20-30 metres out. Was very calm both days I was there.
Sagunto Castle, located about 25 kilometers north of Valencia, is a historic site with origins dating back to the Iberian period. The castle offers sprawling remains and partly-restored structures such as the Roman theatre, Gothic architecture, and the old Jewish quarter. The ancient fortification's walls stretch for about a kilometer and provide stunning views over the town and sea.

Free to enter and walk around, but probably not worth the trip out from Valencia for. There are information points across the town but these disappear once inside the castle grounds itself, so you’re left with an odd mixture of Roman ruins, apparently medieval gates, and then recently renovated concrete additions. Hard to tell what you were looking at.
Tom Beck — Google review
We were there on a Monday when it was closed. Still climbed the hill to see the castle, the views were amazing. You can completely walk around the castle and there are information boards. When we reached the other side we thought we could as well go around completely, but at some point there were no clear paths and sometimes we had to climb down from rocks. The views are also not that great from there so it’s better to just turn around when you reach the first half. Also make sure to wear good shoes.

Amazing history. Great walk around. People complained that it's in ruins, but I thought there was still plenty to see. There is virtually no parking. Bathrooms were broken when we were there. Google maps did not give the correct directions to get there. We did eventually find it on our own. If you go to the old city center you will be able to find your way and people to help with directions from there. This is across the bridge from when we entered town then back over on another bridge just on the other side.

We parked in the town and walked up to the castle. It was free, and not a long walk so I can recommend it to virtually anyone. Mind you, I probably wouldn't visit during the height of summer of around the middle of a hot day.
Great views and, in my opinion, worth a visit.

At the top of the hill of Sagunto lays the ruins of this roman castle. Unfortunately there's no information to follow up during your visit. The views to the Mediterranean are really beautiful but the lack of information regarding the complex let me feeling empty of knowledge.

A nice, big castle with remnants from different periods. If you just know what and where to look for, this place is like a journal spanning millenia.
Pieces from Roman rule, Arabs, French and what not!!
- The hike from Sagunto train station isn't difficult, I'd say 3/10 on difficulty scale
- Entry is free
- There are not many signages, jus go there for exploration
- Phenomenal 360 degree views
- The visitor centre houses some historic artefacts
- There is also a small museum inside the castle, with mostly Roman era inscriptions
Now, some of the restoration is done with modern methods and if you are hardcore history buff, you'd be disappointed.
Nevertheless, worth visiting once.

Segunto Castle offers a captivating experience, and I'm thrilled to share my positive impressions. Firstly, the fact that it's a free site to visit makes it accessible and budget-friendly. The ease of reaching the area by train from Valencia adds to its convenience.
The sheer size of the site is impressive, providing a rich and immersive experience. Navigating through the castle is a delight, with the free audio guide enhancing the visit. I recommend bringing earbuds to fully appreciate the detailed commentary as you explore the site.
The historical significance of Segunto Castle adds a fascinating layer to the visit, and the breathtaking views from various vantage points are truly memorable. The inclusion of hiking trails around the site makes it an ideal destination for both hikers and dog enthusiasts, adding versatility to the overall experience.
Personally, I can't wait to return and delve deeper into the area, as it promises more discoveries and exploration. Segunto Castle stands out as a gem for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a well-rounded and enjoyable outing.

Beautiful ruins, more a citadel than a castle. Quite big, needs time to explore all parts, very nice view all around. Uphill path to walk to entrance, challenging for weak knees. Small museum building (bathrooms available but out of order when we visited).

The views from the castle are truly spectacular. The museum, while very interesting, doesn't provide much information.
This place is not for you if you aren't in shape. There is a LOT of climbing involved to reach the entrance, and more climbing, and scrambling over rocks, once you're inside.
That said, if you're fit it's definitely worth seeing and taking the time to look around.
If you don't want to climb all the way to the top, there is a small, Roman amphitheater that has been restored and is easily reachable and worth seeing.

Although it lacks a little maintenance, it is a great place to go for a walk, to sit and rest, to hang out.
And from where you see it, it looks beautiful, but I think one of the best (distant) postcards you can have is from the road bridge at the Renfe station (Sagunto), it is spectacular as you see it.

C/ del Castell, s/n, 46500 Sagunt, Valencia, Spain
Coves de Sant Josep offers guided boat trips and hikes through a subterranean river that dates back to the Triassic era, making it the longest in Europe. Visitors can enjoy a 45-minute leisurely boat ride along the underground river, covering approximately 800 meters. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, guests will explore various rooms within the caves, including the Bat Room, Dianas Lake, Siphon Gallery, Dry Zone, and Cathedral.
Really nice and great place to be out of the sun. We bought tickets in advance but ended up running late and had to wait 30 mins before they had space for our group.
Got lucky and had a boat to ourselves and our tour guide managed to speak some English so was able to tell us about the caves, stalactites some history and how they had yet to find the source of the clear water. Super friendly gentleman 🙂
We loved the light show at the end of the ride and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many low ceilings so there was much of the journey where we had mind our heads and dodge.

Is a very beautiful caves. Boat will take you cross the river to see the caves. Only one thing I don’t like is the transit. If you want to go by your self and save time only way can work is take taxi cost around $60euro per each ways. Otherwise can take local bus to go. It will take around 2 and half hr each ways.

A great way to spend an hour, but book in advance to ensure your place or that you don't have a wait for your visit. The wooden boats hold 12 people and you are directed where to sit on the benches along each side to ensure stability.
There is a guide who poles the boat along and provides some details about the caves etc, in Spanish of-course, and our command of the language wasn't good enough to understand, but we still enjoyed the visit.
The caves are very low in places so you have to watch out and duck down to avoid a knock on the head. For this reason, there are only certain places, where the cavern is large, where it is safe enough to take photos.
The visit takes 45 minutes and after a short boat ride, you alight and wander through the caves for 200m. The floor is smooth concrete, but the width and height varies. At the end of this one-way walk, the boat meets you again so you have a longer ride back.
We booked in advance (as I needed to fit the visit into our schedule) and for 14,50€ each, we visited on Friday 28 April 2023. There were many visitors entering 30 minutes apart and I counted five boats of up-to 12 people in each for the trip after ours (as we had to wait for them all to pass).

Beautiful experience! It is definitely worth a visit when in Valencia! We rented a car and it was about a 45 min drive, free parking outside. There are some restaurants, shops and an ice cream store next to the entrance of the caves. When visiting the caves you go in boats deep into the mountain. The guide explains everything very nicely and with lots of humor! I went with my teenagers and they loved it too.

It was a wonderful experience. A visit to Valencia without a visit to San Jose Cave is not complete. The staffs are amazing, and the cave is well maintained while safety precautions are adhered to at all times to ensure the safety of all visitors and tourists. Added to this, the ticket is not expensive if you go there by yourself and not use a tour guide. It cost just 14£ to experience this amazing cave. Before you go into the caves, there are lots of cafes where you can grab something to eat. Ice cream, drinks, food, etc. You can as well do this when you come out of the cave.
If you are driving by yourself to the cave, there are lots of parking spaces to park your car safely. Don't ever worry about that. I don't know the price for parking but I am sure it won't cost anything. The car park is not far away from the main entrance and that is why I will recommend you drive there if you can as this will save you some money.
I need to say that photos and videos are bot allowed while you are in the cave. This is to prevent tourists' safety so they don't hit their head on the rock while taking a picture or videos. However, you will be giving some time, which is about 5 minutes at a safe spot in the cave to take good quality pictures. For those who would like to swim, you can do that within the 5 minutes, but who would choose to swim and ignore taking good pictures.
If I ever visit Valencia again, I will do this over and over again.

This place is incredible with a very unique cave where you swim on a boat. The lighting there is spot on which allows to see both the ceiling and the river floor. The only downside is always lowering your head so you don't get hit but that's part of the fun :).
I would recommend buying tickets in advance only if you're 100% sure you'll make it to the time you have chosen, oversize buy tickets when you arrive.

These caves are about 45 min outside of Valencia. I recommend booking a tour to make it stress free because you will not have to drive there or wait in line to buy tickets and your tour guide should provide a history of the area along the way, The caves are beautiful. It is a comfortable temperature of 20 celsius inside. You ride a boat thru the tunnels and caves. Then you walk for a little bit and then you get back in your boat and go back through the tunnels and caves but this time you can take pictures. On the return ride you stop in the open area for a music and light show before the exit. There are a few shops and a place to eat in the town. And there's also an old Monastery at the top of the stairs above the stores. It was not a long tour but it was fun for all and something different fr9m the usual shops or Unesco sites. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Floating through the caves enjoying the beautiful sights in the relatively cool surroundings was a great way to enjoy a very hot day. Our only problem was that the guide, although very good, gave a lot of information in Spanish and only spoke English when directly asked a question. We do speak a little Spanish but not at the level he was communicating. I feel we as tourists could have got a lot more from the experience had there been perhaps one of the four boats for English speaking tourists with an English guide.
Thank you so much Ian David for guiding us on a wonderful trip exploring the caves. Very knowledgeable and informative with great English.

Not worth visiting. The paths between the galleries and caves are not natural. It was created by blasting the rock with TNT. I saw a lot's of broken stalactites that will never recover. Also the bed of the river was filled with sand and cleaned from rocks and debris. Not many parts of the cave system remained untouched. Tourist trap.

Spectacular day trip from Valencia’s. About 45 minutes by car to get here, an hour long boat tour in Europe’s longest underground river, and stunning rock formations. We want to come back for the kayak tour ASAP. There is free covered parking next to the caves. Around the cave entrance there are a handful of bars and restaurants. The fanciest one would need a reservation, though we went to a cheaper one and has no wait for lunch. Alternatively, we found out later about some food trucks in the city center about 5-10 minutes away.
M Hernandez — Google review
Really great experience it is the longest navigable underground river in Europe, very close to Valencia, they do 2 types of trips, you can go in a boat for 800 meters and then a 250 metre walk, or you can do it in a single or double kayak, which is what we did, you even get the chance to swim in the water. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend it.

Extremely interesting historical park, showing how the mine used to function. We were lucky and got Sandy as our guide, she spoke English as well as Spanish, she was able to explain some things that I did not understand in English also - all the literature around the park is in Spanish, valenciano and English. Most of the guides are local, as were the people that worked in the mines in the fifty's, work that was extremely hard and poorly paid ( though not as poor as the farm labour, that was the other option). So if you go and don't speak Spanish be sure to ask for Sandy!. Open all year round, shut Tuesdays though.

A hidden gem well worth a visit. Email ahead for a timed visit in English. You are taken into two old mines; the two are connected by a short ride on a tourist type train. There is a small cafe selling drinks and sandwiches etc.

The guide Enric very friendly, professional and attentive. Space is very well museumized and signposted. Free parking. Not accessible for people with reduced mobility. It's so worth it! A fantastic find!

The tour is always guided with a person who gives you the explanations, making the visit, which lasts approximately 2 hours, very pleasant and interesting. I recommend comfortable shoes since part of the excursion is done on foot inside the mine, where the ground can be gravelly and wet. I encourage you to come visit him. There is parking, services and a restaurant, even parking for motorhomes. A very fruitful morning.!! IT IS IMPORTANT to get your tickets online first!!!

(Translated by Google) Interesting, curious and educational, that's how I could describe our visit to the mines, although it is true that the last part is somewhat complicated for the cars, it is well worth it. Riding a small "train", they took us first to the Esperanza mine where shortly after entering you have a vision of how it all began and the expensive work that working in those mines entailed. The tour is on foot and you explore the different rooms of the mine with a guide. Later they took us to the Victoria mine where they continued explaining the work that was done there and the different metals that were extracted.

Aquarama Water Park in Benicassim is a popular destination for families, offering a wide range of thrilling rides, slides, and pools. It's especially loved by kids and teenagers for its water-based fun. Visitors staying at beach hotels can get tickets at the best prices, and there are special offers available through the park's website. The park features exciting slides that attract repeat visitors every year, though it's recommended to plan ahead as it can get crowded on sunny days.
Affordable, friendly, 20 - 30min waiting time for big slides, for smaller slides no waiting time or very short. Very long queue for waffles :). Would definitely come back again.
Nina — Google review
Great aqua Park an hour drive from Valencia. It's rather small by US standards, but still has enough attractions and rides to make it worth it. The most thrilling ride is el Diablo. The waiting lines were not bad at all, but I went there the first weekend it opened, so that might change once kids are off school 😁
For the price, it's totally worth it. And by the way, they let you bring in food and drinks😉
Tariq Lahyani — Google review
Was super but the problem is that you have to wait around 30 min and even more to take your turn. Was really crawded during Covid time. There was no limit for how many people could enter.
Calin Vingan — Google review
It was clean, quite well laid out, and food isn't too expensive (there's a reason for that 😕 (not very good)).. you are allowed to bring your own food and there's a good picnic area. The queues are quite long for rides though, especially the inflatable ones (doughnuts/rubber rings) and everyone wanting to ride must wait in the inflatable queue.. so you have to wait twice. I would go again I guess.. but it was just above average to be honest.
Jared Bassett — Google review
Great water park for both kids and adults. You can bring your own food, and the food there isn't expensive anyway compared to other ones. My smallest kid is 110cm and at this height you can already enjoy quite a few rides. Other rides are 120cm and 130cm minimum. The 3 super crazy ones I believe is also 130 or 150cm. The park is not full and the queues are 5 minutes maximum. I never waited longer than 3 minutes. Enough parking spaces. Buy your tickets online and in advance for best prices.
Highly recommended!!!
tammam shaibani — Google review
Perfect aqua park for young families. Not too crowded. My little one could participate in all activities. Amy slides. Could be crowded but not as crowded as in famous parks. Good food even you can bring your own food too. You can buy the tickets cheaper online or at Druni. For the adult around 16 euros. At the counter 23 euros. You have to pay for sun beds 3 euros for all day or you stay on the grass for free. Also they have safes there.
Nata H. — Google review
Awful and overpriced. Hardly worth reviewing but I was prompted to. Clientele a bit iffy.
Oliver Hugh-Jones — Google review
Hemos disfrutado mucho, los toboganes son guapos!
We have enjoyed the park a lot and go every year. The slides are very nice. You can picknick or buy something there. Better buy in advance as it can be full on sunny days. But there is enough space for everyone. Some slides have a long queue.
Robby Van Thuyne — Google review
Could be better. Theoretically good slides and nice pools however as another reviewer has said, they let so many people in. It was very very busy so felt like an ant in a colony. Every sunbed taken and the queue for lockers at the beginningand end of the day were something to be seen (we did not bother). Queues for slides were very long so we only bothered for 2 slides. The kids mostly played in the pools and had a good day out. Food etc reasonably priced.

Morella is a charming mountain town known for its culinary delights and artisan products. The streets are lined with shops offering locally made goods, supporting struggling farmers in the area. Morella is famous for its truffles, and visitors can experience the bustling truffle market held every Friday night from November to February. It's a great opportunity to savor the local flavors and support the community.
Perched atop the town of Morella, Castell de Morella is an ancient fortress with a rich history dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. The large Moorish castle, built in the 13th century on earlier Iberian and Roman foundations, offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills. Visitors can explore its steep roads, medieval streets, churches, and walls before hiking up to admire its well-preserved walls and terraces.
Castles we know. We went back to Morella in our research about Morella Jewish Quarters. Before arriving to the city, we were able to see again the castle dominating the scene on the top. We visited the medieval streets, explored the churches and walls before hiking up to the castle. When we went up we were able to admire the different walls and terraces of the castle. We also were able to see the views of the churches, the city, and the surroundings mountains. Later, from the distance, we saw what we walked. #abuelosmochileros_morella #abuelosmochileros_castles #geolandmarks #geolandmarks_morella.

Morella has a great feel of old Spain, the castle is just part of the experience of Morella with its windy cobble streets, very authentically old homes and shops. It was an excellent over night or 1 day stay. The drive here is beautiful through olive farms and canyons. The castle has much history. This is a smaller village with lots of steps- no cars allowed inside so you must walk in. The castle as well is not accessible for anyone with an injury or disability.

Spectacular place. Good walk up to the fortress back in time&history with amazingly picturesque views. You'll get adorable photos.👌📷 Reasonable price for entry EUR 3,50 and EUR 2,50 for parking nearby. Not overcrowded with tourists. Inspiration guaranteed. Morella is a MUST HAVE in my list of recomendations if you are in this region of Spain. ❤

It's a little town on the hill, with an ancient church building, though small it's very unique worth to explore even though you may have seen many. The castle on the top is a ruine, ancient but nothing much to see. The streets in the middle of the hill are just like any other Spanish town.

Travel with a baby? Make sure to take your sling or ergonomic bag with you and stretch your legs. Pram, or pushchair can be left at the entrance. It took us some +/- 30 min. to climb up the stairs, with some photo taking and view enjoying. We chose morning, and it was a right thing to do, afterwards it got a bit crowded (we saw when we left). The view from the top is spectacular.

Carrer del Castell, 12300 Morella, Castelló, Spain
The Església de Santa Maria la Major, also known as the Church of St. Mary, is an outstanding example of Valencian Gothic and Renaissance architecture. It was constructed predominantly during the 13th and 14th centuries but was not completed until the late 16th century. Notable features on its exterior include two entrances: the larger Apostles gate from the 14th century and the smaller Virgin gate from the 15th century.
Morella is an amazing town not too far from Peniscola and Valencia. It is like going back in time! This town is amazing and the church is greatly preserved that reflects the history. Beautiful building.

Pcta. de l'Església, 1, 12300 Morella, Castelló, Spain
Playa Morro de Gos is a popular holiday destination known for its golden sand, sun-bathing chairs, and umbrellas. The beach offers tranquility and stunning sunsets, making it perfect for a calm morning or afternoon. Visitors can also explore the old quarter of Oropesa del Mar with notable buildings and historical landmarks. The area features a variety of amenities including fruit stands, shops, souvenirs, and beach accessories.
A complete experience for everyone. Fruit stands, shops, souvenirs, beach accessories, seawall with two levels for strolling along the beach. Upper level perfect to view the beach, lower level providing easy access to all the shops and restaurants. Warning, during the day the lower level walkway doubles as a street for the locals who live adjacent to the walkway. Nightlife turns into full throttle around 8pm. Sidewalks become busy with activity as shoppers eagerly search for the exquisite replicas (dupes, fakes, counterfeits) from designer shoes to luxury handbags (Gucci, Prada, Tous, etc). Prices usually stay around 25 euros for most of the favorite items. Unlike the street sellers in Madrid, the street seller has no fear from the local authorities as it seems to be a symbiotic relationship, where tourists swarm the walkway purchase the dupes and then shop at the legitimate restaurants from pizza to fine dining. Interesting experience! Oh, the walkways are certainly tempting for a skater, although I only saw one actual skateboarder during my 4 visits to the walkway in August.

The Estàtua de Benet XIII (Papa Lluna) is a beautiful statue located near the illuminated castle, creating a picturesque setting. The statue of Benedict XIII, also known as Papa Luna, has become a popular spot for taking selfies. Visitors can enjoy a scenic walk to the castle through the old town of Peniscola, navigating narrow and sometimes steep streets and stairs.
Inaugurated in 2007, this Bronze statue represents absolutely nothing of the actual physical appearance of Papa Luna: in reality, he was a small, extremely thin man dedicated to the world of academia, more along the lines of a Mr. Barnes from the Simpsons rather than the imposing myth that has been created. Some argument can be made that the statue represent his strong character and beliefs, but physically, zero in common with the statue.

He seems quite serious (you can see it in my photos) and the truth is that it seems that he is not comfortable where he is. I believe that 99% take photos with him without having a clue who Pope Luna was. If it weren't for this statue I wouldn't know him.

So people (at least sometimes!!) still look online to see who they took a selfie with. However, you should also be able to walk well on the circular route to the castle through the old town of Peniscola. It goes through narrow, sometimes steep streets and stairs up to the castle.

Beautiful sea and city view from all the sides, cheap ticket like around 5 euros. Unfortunately, there are not many things to see except the impressive walls. Most of the rooms are totally empty. A Historic Gem,
Nestled on a picturesque hill overlooking the glistening Mediterranean Sea, Peniscola Castle stands as a testament to centuries of history and architectural brilliance. As I stepped through its ancient gates, I was instantly transported back in time to the era of knights and kings.
The castle's commanding presence is awe-inspiring, with its imposing stone walls and fortified towers offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Exploring its labyrinthine corridors and chambers, I was fascinated by the rich tapestry of its past, from its origins as a Moorish citadel to its role as a royal residence during the reign of the Knights Templar.
One of the highlights of my visit was the castle's impressive courtyard, where I marveled at the intricate craftsmanship of its arched arcades and ornate fountains. It was here that I could almost feel the echoes of past events, from grand banquets to fierce battles fought in defense of its walls.
The castle's museum provided a fascinating insight into its history, with displays of artifacts ranging from medieval weaponry to intricate tapestries. I particularly enjoyed learning about the castle's role in the Spanish Reconquista and its significance in the region's cultural heritage.
Overall, my experience at Peniscola Castle was nothing short of unforgettable. Its blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in delving into the rich tapestry of Spain's past. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a glimpse into a bygone era, this historic gem offers a captivating journey through time.

Garden visitor center with displays of parrots, plus a wooden enclosure for butterflies & turtles.
For sure, not only kids could have fun there. Amazing place, it was great experience to feed extremely friendly birds, especially parrots. And to see turtles eating green salads. The owner of the place is doing great job. When visiting, if you are lucky, you can see and participate his show with trained birds.

I love this place this was our second visit on our travels round Spain . My passion is birds & to see these beautiful birds so well cared for and looked after by such lovely staff is a joy. The place is beautiful and so much for kids to do as well. Being able to interact with the birds and feed them made my day. I have so many pictures & videos thus is a memory I will treasure always & we will return again & again when we come back to Spain I only wish we had a place like this in the uk . Thank you to all the amazing staff for caring so much for all the birds and animals.

Great fun. This place will make lasting memories for you. It is advisable to choose clothing that you will not miss afterwards or you won't mind a few holes in them. Also shiny metal objects are a magnet for these beauties. Even if its just a little metal clamp on a rubber hair tie. Definitely worth the trip!

very beatiful and interactive garden. the birds easily come to sit on your hand, but some of them do look like they are sick or like they have been fighting with the other birds. the turtles are very calm and allow you to touch them, you can also feed them leaves. the bird show was entirely in spanish, so i could not understand much of what was said but it was still entertaining. entrance is a bit pricy (20 euros for an adult) but i assume this is used to take care of all the animals
big + : they have a capybara !!!!!

Brilliant place you're allowed to feed the birds in their habitats. We went out of season so the cafe was closed. We only went in the main park but you can pay extra to feed turtles and see the flamingos. The general admission was well worth it. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We were expecting a smaller place but the park is quite big and spacious. There are many parrots to visit, feed and hold. Also along the park are adventure routes like ropes and balancing on beams which makes the walk within the park fun and exciting for the kids. There are kangaroos, Lamours and turtles you can feed. We bought the combo admission which includes the butterfly area and turtles. We didn't see any butterflies but we enjoyed feeding the turtles. We had a lovely 3 hours there and i highly recommend visiting the place if you like parrots.

Very beautiful natural gorge. The trail system was awesome and fun to hike around. If you’re coming to look at the beautiful rock and river formation and hike around, definitely worth a visit! The drive down on one side was nail biting, in a van! Thankfully we discovered the road the other side of the canyon was fine. Enjoyed the day swimming, jumping and hiking around this area. Although the term ‘Hot Springs’ is not how I’d describe the slightly warm paddling pool!
Tortosa Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Maria, is a must-visit in Tortosa. The exterior is particularly impressive with its unique Catalan Gothic architecture and Baroque facade. Construction began in 1347 and was completed in 1757, resulting in a blend of two different architectural styles. While the interior ambiance is amazing, visitors should check for prayer times as tourists are not allowed during these times.
Looks like a very beautiful Cathedral, we got there just as it closed so unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to see inside but we got a nice couple of photos from this perch above the city; would definitely recommend checking it out if your in the area.

Truly beautiful - but NO PHOTOS ALLOWED.
There are no signs outside to say this, but the cashier emphasised this only after we had paid - NO PHOTOS ALLOWED. Signs and cameras everywhere to protect their copyright apparently and to remind you of the fact that NO PHOTOS ALLOWED. It really is a shame as the cathedral is beautiful and the museum contains some amazing artefacts. To top it all off, the only photos allowed are of the cloisters and the gardens within were quite neglected. Recuerde NO PHOTOS ALLOWED. Had we realised beforehand, we would not have paid the €5 to enter. Photos are a real part of a visit for us making, physical memories to accompany those in the mind, but here NO PHOTOS ALLOWED! We have visited many cathedrals across Spain and fortunately this is the only one we have encountered with such a restriction. My review is intended to highlight the restriction, since the cathedral attempts to hide it until it is too late, ie until after you have paid. Recuerde NO PHOTOS ALLOWED

The Castell de Miravet is a magnificent Romanesque fortress reconstructed by the Knights Templar and boasts breathtaking vistas of the surrounding countryside. Access to this spectacular castle can be achieved via a steep and winding road, or alternatively through a well-marked path within the village. Large vehicles such as motorhomes can utilise designated parking areas located nearby. The castle offers impressive panoramic views from its grounds for an entry fee of 5 (or 3 at reduced rates).
Fabulous castle excellent value for money! The drive up is fun... Steep and twisty turny but managed it in our xlwb ducato. Can also walk up if you fancy it... There us a path through the village, well signed. Saw a sign for motorhome parking so can leave large vehicles there or in the coach parking. If walking, leave vehicle near the plaza next to the river and head up to the old church. Signs for the castle from there

Highly ridiculous. I knew that prices had risen due to inflation, but the price to enter this castle is a crime. If you are a history lover and you like to see empty castles with only stone, this is an ideal place for you. I expected there to be materials typical of the century in which construction began. Honestly, in my opinion, it's not worth it. The views are not that pretty (although I have to say that when I took the view the day was cloudy).
It only took us 20 minutes to see the entire castle.
The truth is, I don't understand the people who recommend visiting this place, if you know someone who recommends it, tell them that I pay a visit to the eye doctor, they really need it.
In my opinion, the town looks like the set of a low-budget zombie movie.

Very lovely place. Lots of history, explained with pictures and information posters throughout the castle in English, as well as several other languages. A big part of the castle is very well preserved for the age. It tells the very long history of the location before the modern castle was constructed, how it was constructed, and it's part in history and historical wars and conflicts. Unfortunately, at this moment the upper floors and decks are closed due to visitor safety, but hopefully this is something that can be improved in the future so you get to explore the whole castle. Anyway, you still have plenty places with an amazing view of the Ebro river and the surrounding areas.

An absolutely fantastic experience all around - delicious wines, superb setting and a great guide. Jordi was knowledgeable, interesting and super fun. I've been on numerous vineyard tours all over the world and this was one of the best. The wine is definitely one of the top in Priorat.

We loved our experience! Jordi is such a pleasure to talk to and the vineyard is breath-taking at sunset. The wines and nibbles were great and we really appreciate our host's effort to make it a nice experience for our younger ones. Thank you so much Jordi! We wish you all the best!

Jordi was fantastic! The sunset wine tasting was a beautiful evening of trying some of our favorite wines of the region and viewing some of our favorite views of Priorat. We appreciated Jordi’s knowledge and guidance about the region and what we should expect of the wines we would try. It was a perfect way to start our trip. Can’t recommend this tour enough.

Great winery to visit. The Priorat region is amazing. Jordi, the tour guide, is incredible. He has deep knowledge of everything related to wine and is very kind.
The vineyards have great views and are manually worked on. Everything about the production of wine was carefully explained by Jordi, which also answered to many of the questions we had. The wines themselves are delicious. I recommend the tasting with selected tapas to level up the experience.

We had such a good time there! Jordi is very knowledgeable and keen to share what he knows. The wines were delicious and we enjoyed the panoramic views during the tour in the vineyards!

Carrer dels Masets, 1, 43737 Gratallops, Tarragona, Spain
The Platja del Torn is a nudist beach located in a protected natural area, just minutes away from LHospital de LInfant. It's got a serene atmosphere and idyllic surroundings, perfect for relaxing without the hustle and bustle of big cities. The sand is dark and the waters are clear and warm, making it one of Europe's biggest naturist beaches. There's also plenty of deep green pine trees to enjoy as well as golden sand beaches.
In my opinion only, the best beach i have been to in Spain. So much room for everyone, naturist or otherwise, but leave the dogs at home please. It appears to have a gentlemens only area at the far end but its fine for couples.
A few lurkers behind the beach which is irritating but they are harmless.

Was not a good experience overall. Is a amazing beach but the basic greek rights were not respected. Is like mandatory to go without a swimsuit, and you are kind of invited to go out.

Best beach in Spain

A gorgeous beach, but it can't be reserved only for naturalists. The beach is for all. They kind of stare at you if you are wearing a suit. I don't mind their presence, they shouldn't mind people like me. It is really a great beach and naturalists can't keep it for themselves.

Nice large and wide beach. Quite a steep and narrow road to reach the parking. Lots of stones, sand on the approach to the water and then stones and sand again. Quiet during weekdays but was very busy on Sunday afternoon. Families gathered closer to the beach entrance, in the middle of the beach there were more single men and men couples and then families and couples again towards the other end close to the camping.
Radoslaw Madej — Google review
One of the finest beaches in mainland Spain, which also happens to be naturist. So no swimsuits necessary. Directly behind the northern end lies the popular naturist resort of El Templo del Sol. The beach attracts large numbers of sunseekers, but there is space enough: a short stroll will be rewarded with a quiet spot for relaxing in solitude.

Cartoixa d'Escaladei
Monastery
Sights & Landmarks
Carthusian monastery founded in 1194, now a museum complex with cloisters, gardens & churches.
What an amazing place to visit. Rich in history and not well known. The ruins are beautifully preserved. A lot of restoration work is carried out. Entry fee is only 5 euros.
The charterhouse was founded in 1194 and Escaladei was the first Carthusian Monastery on the peninsula. I really loved the arch at the entrance, it’s gorgeous. The square with the fountain in the middle is also stunning.
If you in the area you should not miss it.

Very characterful ruins, with a great romantic feel. Plus the restoration is being done sympathetically giving a real insight into how the monks lived. Well worth a visit

We visited Cartoixa d'Escaladei in late January 2023. We were surprised to find tour buses as we'd thought we were the only visitors in the region. There were about hundred or so tourists there. The ruins were much more extensive than I’d realized, and I hadn’t expected the renovation work that was in progress. They had restored some monk cells to give a sense of the monk’s everyday life: cloistered, i.e. no talking. They each had a small garden in which to grow flowers. I liked the desks with a view and the amazing history.

A wonderful place to visit. Great preservation work makes the site even more interesting. And there's the Incredible back drop of the mountains

Very interesting
La Cartoixa d'Escaladei is an old monastery. It's mainly in ruins (even they're restoring it). But it's quite impressive and large. You have its story explained as you walk in it, so you can imagine how it used to be. Its location, surrounded by mountains, it's great.
The price to get in (5€) is very reasonable.

MEDIEVAL PRIORAT
The MONTSANT or Priorat mountain range, with a visit to the thousand-year-old monastery of ESCALA DEI, is simply spectacular. The Carthusian monastery was founded in 1194 by concession of Alfonso the Chaste in order to establish a population in the newly conquered lands. The Carthusian monastery of Escaladei is located at the bottom of a valley, protected by the Montsant mountain range.
Enjoy and Visit!!!😊👌

Amazing historic place. Such a shame it was destroyed but parts are being rebuilt.

So this place is very out of the way, great if you want to visit somewhere less touristic. Entry fee is €5.
The good: The restored cloister, they did a good job on it, it looks well, although parts of it were boarded up which didn't look good.
The monk's cell, they restored one of them so you can get an idea of how they lived, you could see the living areas and a small cloister with plants, it was really quiet and I liked imagining how they lived.
The bad: A lack of history, there are some information panels but I would have liked some more historical background.
It looks a bit like a building site, I wish there were more open spaces open to the public instead of wired fences.
Some of the buildings were renovated a bit, basically just a roof, they seemed very bare on the inside, no info, furniture or details.
I recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for something to do

Worth the visit-
These old ruins were very cool. The drive up was just magical and serene. It’s about €3.50 to enter and you are free to walk around, check it out and take photos. There are informative panels all over explaining what happened to this monastery and showing you where things used to be. Definitely a cool experience and would highly suggest it!

You need a car to get here. During our visit, theres a restoration going on. It was less touristy, so we could really enjoy the place. Hope to come back here again once everything is restored and no construction going on. The visit is still worth it.
Blanche Ladera-Puncer — Google review
The location is amazing, right under the Monsant mountain range, so no wonder the Carthusians chose it to place this Monastery. Currently undergoing a slow reconstruction which is questioned by many, it is worth visiting to understand better the culture and the wine economy of the region today. We enjoyed the reconstruction of the cells as they were in Mediaval times. Also worth taking the short walk up to "La Pietat", related to the monastery and offering great views of it.
Irene Compte (Prosivendola) — Google review
A beautiful place full of a rich history. The signs and the reconstruction help bring you into the past. Instead of letting everything fall more into decay they repair. Also very cheap tickets and entry.

Great place to have a relaxing drink and listen to (in our case)!!, really excellent band/Group.

Place to go for live music. But service is slow and very poor. Not much ecperienced people. Long waiting time as they don't work the modern way.
The bar itself is very small so they offer not much to eat. This could be much better with an easy snack menu.
But I do understand that the bar service has the first priority to improve.
As I was the owner I would create an outside possibility when crowdy. Just to pick up a beer, wine or vermouth quick, so he can sell a lot more drinks at live events.

I was visiting L’hospitalet early September’21, happened to find this awesome bar and it was Flamenco night. I had a such a wonderful time. Friendly staffs, variety of drinks, reasonable pricing, nice atmosphere infront of beach, perfect location for night out. They have live band every night from country to Flamingo… owner Monica was very kind and makes you feel at home. Highly recommend anyone who is visiting the area.

We enjoyed live music on Sunday. The bar has a beautiful location overlooking the sea, and the drinks cost accordingly. I ordered a Pina colada which was served in a pint glass but most of it was ice.
