A fascinating place where unique things have travelled in time and allow us to have a glimpse at them. It shows how different medieval churches where from what we can see now, and how vibrating that society was.
A must see.

Beautiful Romanesque collegiate church whose facade has been recently restored as well as the entrance portico.
Worth the look both daylight and night with the cute illumination.
Inside stands out an unusual sculpture of a Pregnant Virgin. It also deserves the visit, the Magesty Portico with its original polychromy, a little museum and the painting 'La Virgen de la Mosca'.

(Translated by Google) We arrived in passing on the first day and went in to ask. María Montserrat, who attended to us, was a delight at all times. We spent approximately twenty minutes with her while she explained everything there was to see in Tordesillas. Then José Luis appeared and we were chatting with him in the same way. It is incredible how much they know about the history of the treaty and Doña Juana (not the crazy one) I of Castile. They both tell it with a historical rigor that is appreciated, in addition to putting you in the situation and knowing the background (such as the Treaty of "Alcasobas"). A delight to listen to them. (We met them on a Tuesday, and on Friday we took the guided tour that took place in the gardens where the old Royal Palace was located). A must-visit for anyone interested in getting to know this key Valladolid town in the medieval history of Spain up close. Thank you.

Historic castle with walls dating from the 12th century, a tower & an exhibition & visitor center.
Super cool subterranean area. Great guide explaining everything well (in Spanish). But u should buy your guided tickets in advance or else maybe you only get to wander around the courtyard (at least its free though)
Guy Horton — Google review
For such a big and impressive castle, the short free visit was a bit disappointing. I'd have liked very much to take a full guided tour, but the person at the ticket counter didn't even offer me any and I only learned about the existence of guided tours later. It's a real pity to see that they've got such a well-conserved medieval castle here but show that little interest in presenting it to visitors.

Well, we slept through our stop on the train and arrived in Medina del Campo, and there wasn't going to be another train for 4 hours. So we spent the day here, visited the castle and walked into town to see the plaza and have lunch. Geoff Berg — Google review
An innovative - for its time - XV century castle. Impressive from the outside, while the interior recreated in the XX century is a bit meh.
Paweł Kranzberg — Google review
While part of the courtyard can be visited for free, the tour of the castle is great with abundant information on the defensive structures of the castle for very little money.
For even less money you can climb to the top of the tower and receive more information about the history of the castle.
However, I am not sure if they offer a tour in English.
There is free parking right in front of the castle as is the information - entering the grounds from the street it's easy to miss if you keep looking at the castle instead of turning to the right. The pavilion with the information also has a small archeological site and restrooms.

Parque Campo Grande is the largest urban park in Valladolid, Spain, offering a charming retreat for both locals and visitors. The park features a variety of attractions including a small pond, playground, fountains, marble sculptures, and an ornamental lake with swans.

Great park for a nice walk. Very interesting to look for the different sculptures that are scattered around it. It has an area dedicated to games (basketball, soccer, skates, etc.) which, in my opinion, is too close and without barriers to the walking areas, so there is a risk of walking and receiving a ball. The Columbus monument at the end of the promenade is spectacular, although a bit overdone. Pleasant walk with lively terraces on the other side of the street.

A beautiful park, not even busy in the city center. It's everything you could want in a park I suppose.. You can feed the red squirils by hand, go on a boat ride and feed the ducks too.. Take pictures of the peacocks. They tell you not to feed on signs, but everyone does.. Clean with no dogs allowed, good play area for kids. Loved it!

A lovely park with many walkways and lush green trees. Numerous peacocks (& hens) are interesting and call frequently. Squirrels also hop about and are tame, especially if you have nuts! Fountains and several statues also make a walk there interesting. A roses garden adds colour in one area.

The Plaza Mayor de Valladolid is a significant historical landmark in Spain, boasting impressive local architecture and culture. It is one of the country's largest public squares and was formerly a bustling market. Renamed after the 16th century, visitors can enjoy walking around the plaza and take in its attractions. Located near another famous plaza, Plaza Zorrilla, it features ornate buildings with arcades and an outdoor cafe that adds to its lively atmosphere.

I'll never travel to Zaragoza without this trip planner again
The Iglesia Conventual de San Pablo, located in Valladolid, Spain, is a notable religious establishment with an Isabelline-Gothic style church and former convent featuring a finely crafted facade flanked by two towers. Originally commissioned by Cardinal Juan de Torquemada between 1445 and 1468, the church underwent various extensions and renovations until 1616.
Gigantic blocks of sandstone carved by architecture of rare beauty to the historic buildings of Val.

Lovely historic building from the outside, not so impressive on the inside
The art museum Colegio de San Gregorio - Museo Nacional de Escultura (colección histórica), located in a former church, showcases both medieval and modern sculptures along with Spanish oil paintings. The museum's remarkable sculpted facade, crafted by master sculptor Gil de Siloe, features intricate details such as coats of arms, crowned lions, sculpted twigs, naked children playing in a pomegranate tree, and long-haired men holding maces.
Installed in the San Gregorio College, founded by Friar Alonso de Burgos , confessor of Queen Isabel, and which in itself is an outstanding work of Isabelian gothic style . Again, building and its contents are rivals for attention. The entrance attributed to Gil de Siloe and Simon de Colonia, is high high point of Spanish art. In the interior, the visitor will delight in the unique and surprising pieces from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries . Works by Berruguete, Felipe Vigarny, Diego de Siloe and Juan de Juni fill to overflowing the halls in this magnificent presentation of Spanish statues.

This castle is amazing!! Something very special about it that is hard to describe. Walk around the periphery to take it all in. Unfortunately we didn’t make an interior tour but we would have enjoyed seeing the inside. Amazing construction and interesting history.

Castillo de Coca
It was built in 1453 by the illustrious bishop of Avila, Don Alonso de Fonseca, under the direction of the architect Ali Caro. Upon his death, his brother continued to work. In 1462, Coca had a mint to issue Castilian and Portuguese coins that helped pay for the workers involved in building the castle.
The Coca Castle is one of the most beautiful examples of Spanish Mudéjar Gothic art. Its construction amazes and loves it for the first time, as in every brick form it expresses an architectural ensemble as original and innovative as few people.
It highlights the unique beauty of its rooms, represented by beautiful Mudéjar geometric decorations made of stucco and paintings, which also gives us a unique and unrepeatable legacy. Another peculiarity is that it is not constructed on a hill as is usually the case with forts of this type, as its defense system benefits from the cliff terrain, which acts as a seat for this castle that stands over a wide and deep area. The trench. A love story in which Marquis Senetti starred .

An amazing castle in the heart of Spain. Constructed in the 15th century and has been considered to be one of the best examples of Spanish Mudejar brickwork which incorporates Moorish Muslim design and construction with Gothic architecture. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be near.

Amazing. One of the best stops on my Spanish trip.
I hired a car in Madrid and drove out to Coca to visit this stunning castle.
Not only was it visually incredible, but it was also fully accessible, I was able to walk the walls inside and out, explore the interior, and even climb up and out onto the roof.
If that's not amazing enough, I was able to do that was barely anyone else present as the castle is aittle off the beaten path.
The town of Coca is definitely worth a wander too, it's beautiful and historic - even scoring a mention in the Astrix and Obelisk comics.
Definitely one of my highlights!

Review Title: Majestic Beauty in Coca!
The charm of Spain shines brightly in Castillo de Coca! This Gothic-Mudejar fortress located in Coca city is nothing short of a historical masterpiece. From the moment you set eyes on the castle, it's an awe-inspiring sight!
Whether you are an architecture connoisseur or a history enthusiast, the castle's blend of Gothic-Mudejar design will surely command your admiration. The intricate designs and well-preserved walls are testament to the brilliant craftsmanship of the era. The fortress's well-preserved state allows visitors to truly step back in time, and you can almost hear the echoes of historic Spanish events.
The surrounding beauty of the castle grounds is an added charm, ensuring a feeling of peace and tranquillity during your visit. The weather in Coca is always inviting, making the visit to the castle even more enjoyable.
Lastly, the castle staff, they are informative, friendly, truly enhancing the overall visitor experience. Don't miss out on the guided tour offered, highly educational and engaging.
In conclusion, Castillo de Coca is a must-visit attraction in Spain. It’s a perfect blend of historical grandeur, architectural brilliance, stunning beauty, and hospitable people. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

A really interesting place to visit with information provided in English and an English speaking man on reception. It must be said that the stairs up the towers are challenging with large risers and no hand rails. But we are two 74 year old not particularly fit pensioners and we managed OK. It is really worth the effort.

Very authentic castle still untouched by the masses. There’s a nice self guided walking tour climbing up quite a big amount of tall steps that showcase the convergence of Mudejar design and Gothic architecture.

A really unexpected surprise in Palencia. The province being the realm of the Romanesque, I expected its cathedral to be this style, too. Instead, we came across a fantastic Gothic temple which, unfortunately, we could not visit because it was being restored. We at least enjoyed the awesome exterior.

A must see if you are in Palencia. Spectacular from the outside, and even more impressive inside. Built on a Visigothic place of worship (which can still be seen in the crypt below), it stands as a visual representation of the development in Gothic architecture over time. Highly recommended to visit with a guide.

An amazing cathedral, it is incredible what man can do when he wishes to praise God.
Christopher McCartney — Google review
You have to pay to visit a place of worship that your ancestors built and it's currently maintained by taxpayers money. Given that church property taxes are not payed, taxpayers are asked to donate money in their tax declarations, and grants from Europe (FEDER) and Spain (MINECO) are obtained, it would be a sign of gratitude to eliminate or reduce the entrance for Spanish and European nationals. Not to talk about the attitude of 'pay and shut up' by an institution not very open to criticism.

The world's third largest Jesus will not disappoint! See the Lord on top of a hill on the outskirts of a minor town. The Big Jesus was impressive in its artistic style, seen in the impressive architecture. There is a museum at the feet of Jesus to explain the design of the Third Largest Jesus in the world (behind the one in Rio Di Janeiro and another massive Jesus) with information in Spanish (not surprising seeing as it is in Spain). The view was also amazing. The only disturbing thing about this particularly large son of the Lord was that He had no eyes in his eye sockets. This was so people could look out of them, but from a distance he doesn't look how Jesus has been traditionally depicted (i.e. with eyes). This humongous third of the Holy Trinity was overall very good.

The "unique" experiences offered on the website is a tremendous delusion. It should be clearly said that is only for guests as the staff is not prepare to give details and book it when costumers fill all requiring forms online. It seems like they couldn't care less. First, I asked to do the Harvest and they simply answer that we must be in a group of 4 people, which I thought could be easily organised by them, however they can't. Then, I decided for the Spa Sommelier and again a negative answer saying that the hotel was full and there was no chance to receive others. It is the worst service ever from a renowned hotel. The intentions I had to visit for a eventually future accommodation now has completed disappeared.

Externally a very impressive, imposing building set high up above the town.
Sadly the inside has been very sanitised in comparison with all the other Spanish castles we have visited.
Walking around it you don't really get any sense of history because internally so much of it is very modern.
Also, we paid for a tour which we knew would be in Spanish, but were assured that there would be a summary in English at each point - this didn't happen, and the guide told us she only speaks a little English.
Obviously we don't go about with the expectation that English will be either spoken or understood, but it was disappointing to have paid for a tour that we couldn't understand a word of.

Regrettable tour, expensive, short and poorly explained. The Diputación Provincial of Valladolid is more concerned about promoting wines than explaining the incredible history that, without a doubt, is collected within the walls of the Castle of Peñafiel.

Penafiel Castle in Valladolid is a hidden gem that took me by surprise with its allure and historical significance. Nestled in the heart of the Spanish countryside, this medieval marvel exudes an undeniable charm that transports visitors to a bygone era.
As I approached the castle, its striking silhouette against the sky left me in awe. The well-preserved walls and turrets instantly conveyed a sense of history, promising a captivating journey through the ages. Once inside, I was enamored by the intricate architectural details and the stories they seemed to whisper.
Beyond its historical significance, Penafiel Castle's location is a true delight. The panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from atop the towers are simply breathtaking. I could have spent hours gazing out over the picturesque landscape, feeling a sense of serenity and wonder.
The view of the castle from the Corrida arena (Plaza del Coso) of Penafiel is very spectacular as well, adding another layer of beauty to the already enchanting experience.
My visit to Penafiel Castle was a memorable journey into the past, filled with wonder and fascination. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a unique escape, this Valladolid gem promises an unforgettable experience that leaves you with cherished memories of a timeless adventure.

We took the Spanish tour which was tough because we don't speak Spanish, but we were still able to learn a lot. Based on the laughter of those who could speak Spanish, the tour guide was funny. Here are my notes: a long time ago in a land far away a castle was built on a hill. It was stone and boat shaped. Definitely recommend!

On one hand they offered us a guided tour in English but the person did only in Spanish when he realized we translated ourselves. Even if that could be a negative point, the guide was attentive and approach to us later to apologize and ask for any questions. On the other the castle has charming but the wine museum fills a gap that gives me a confronted sensation between the missing conceptual view and the recreational offer. All together, the price of the ticket is good, be ready to climb stairs and try to be early to get the best spots to park.

Fine winery with a lot of history in their wheels. We booked the tour + wine tasting at the end. I would recommend the cellar to update the initial phase with all the audiovisual contents, they look old fashioned and kind of boring. The guides were OK, the tasting was OK, nothing out of the blue for such an iconic cellar. They should probably revamp and rethink the process, nothing to complain, but living in 2023 it's good to be updated with the time being.

A not-particularly-enjoyable dinosaur theme park. Any links with the genuine dinosaur footprints, which are five minute's drive away at the Icnitas De Enciso, are tenuous to say the least - the "museum" here is a real afterthought. If you want to actually find out about the dinosaur footprints, go to the Centro Paleontológico de Enciso in town instead. The food was mediocre at best - bagged salad with tasteless tomatoes in Spain should be a crime - and overpriced. We only came here to eat because the restaurant in the Posada Santa Rita in town was full, so unless you actively want to come here make sure you book at the posada before coming to Enciso. The staff looked like they'd rather be anywhere else. We did see kids enjoying themselves in the pools, but that was about it.

Ideal place to be with the hole family, children and adults will be happy here. Place of conservation and study of "birds of prey" in a marvellous and little unknown land, La Rioja. They have the best wine from Spain in this region but not only, you can also find hidden jewels like "Tierra Rapaz". The place is large, with two bird exhibits, day and night prey birds, worthy of the best zoos all-over the world. The love and affection they have for the birds can be seen in each place of the enclosure. A must-see if you're in northern Spain.

Gothic cathedral constructed beginning in 1235, with later Mudéjar & Renaissance elements.
A must do in Tarazona. Visit the cathedral and also you have the opportunity to go up the tower, cimborrio, and have an amazing view of the town. Good guides and organization.

A must do in the area. The recently restored cathedral was in the verge of succumb a few years ago. Now, still under restoration, you can enjoy the main cathedral as well as tower with great view of the city. The guided tour is really enjoyable and contributes to the restoration of the cathedral
(Translated by Google) Spectacular as it has been with the restoration. The price of the visit is €5, + €2 if you take an audio guide. It is very worth it, whether you like the culture or it is not impressive. There is much to see and time to spend. The outside is just as impressive as the inside.

Then say that I loved Tarazona and I was fascinated by its Cathedral.

Restored 12th-century monastery & church with vaulted tombs & passages, plus an onsite wine museum.
Awesome. Cool and amazing! For that price - wow. I was expecting way less from that.

Worth a visit. There is a wine shop. There were wine tasting facilities but we were told that they don't do wine tastings? Very disappointing

Beautiful place. Free parking available. Fee is 1.8€ but with the same ticket you can also visit the wine museum, a real cracker.
The guide, Ana, was amazing and gave a myriad of details during the visit.

Fabulous place to visit, all very carefully restored with lots of original wall decorations and floor tiles, well worth the 1.80€ entrance fee. Free parking and free guide pamphlet in English.

Entrance 1,80€/adult, could of paid even more, it was breathtaking! Definitely worth of adding this spot to your must see-list!

Medieval fortress complex with towers, battlements, courtyards & gardens, plus a Parador hotel.
Fantastic castle with a very fair priced entrance. The views are absolutely stunning. Parking was easy and free of charge.

Paid 3,50Eur to enter. Can easily spent 1.5 hours exploring around and climb stairs to all the towers. Great view from the towers.

Beautiful castle, had an incredible atmosphere at nighttime. While I was there they were shooting an American TV series in it so I couldn't visit it inside unfortunately. Clearly the best thing in the small town of Olite. Worth the trip.

Awesome Palace. Really worth visiting as it wasn’t built for strategic reasons but to be for fit for a King and his Queen. We also paid for an audio guide and this was worth it, you could share 1 between two or more people so save cost. There are a lot of rooms and towers to explore we spent an hour wandering through you could easily spend several hours here. The Palace has been rebuilt when you see the old photos they have done a marvellous job, and the audio gives you insights on how it use to look on the inside. We were in a motorhome and used the parking 5 minutes away.

Huge castle in a little town. Expected to sprend there 20 min top, ended up climbing up all the stairs to numerous towers and left the castle after 2 hours!
NO DINNER BREAK - that was a pleasant surprise for a change. Reasonable ticket prices.

The best restored castle we have ever visited. It was really fun climbing the towers and enjoying the wonderful views of the surrounding area.

We saw this place in the distance on the way down to the Costas...we stopped on way back and visited the castle...so many towers to explore, so many views from the top, so many steps...but so worth it..and the town with its tiny streets..it's a good location to stop.
Bev Baker — Google review
So beautiful and entertaining. The entrance is only €3 for adults and free for children. We could access all the towers. Due to covid, the tickets are sold for a particular time to control the number of people inside. There are many bars, restaurants, and souvenirs shops inside the old city/castle.
Natalia Koval — Google review
Olite is quite simply magnificent and its crowning glory is the Palace. If you are within driving distance do not miss it. Apart from the Palace the town itself is full of interesting buildings and lovely nooks and crannies where little details on doors, walls, rejas and buildings convey a sense of an ancient culture and a splendid history. There is simply nothing in the UK to compare to Olite. And is is just one of hundreds of such glories in Spain.
Duncan Parsons — Google review
One of the must-see historical places everyone should visit. The palace is outstanding and carrying on a lot from its past. You can see chambers for the King and the Queen of Olite and their special gardens.
Behzad Naderi — Google review
Excellent value at 2.5euro per oldie, but be aware there are a lot of spiral staircases if you want to go up the many towers.

Beautiful Medieval Castle. Lovely tour around. Fabulous views from the towers. Lots of steps up so you need to be a little bit fit...

It was my first visit in Navarra area. The palce is located in quiet town Olite, Historical place great architecture, a lot of high towers, smooth wals wille take you to the oldest centuries. Yo can fill it. The most unexpected surprise for was that Palace is Hotel slash museum place. You can sleep at those "walls".

Good place to spend a day with children. If your children like animals, they will have a wide variety of animals to see. The rides are fun, and here I mention the Bobsleigh, the tubing and the self drive boats. On the negative side, this Parc is huge and there are large distances to be covered. If you are with small children, they will get tired pretty fast. The day we went it was very crowded too, so there was a lot of queueing up to get to the rides, anywhere from 15 minutes to almost an hour for the bobsleigh. Parking is free but quite far away, if you want to park closer to the Parc, you pay 9 euros for a day in a parking place that is not only nearer to the entrance but your car is also protected from the sun.

Sendaviva is a great place to spend the day with your kids. It's very family friendly and perfect for younger children. Kids over 10 would probably get bored pretty quickly. I didn't see any of the shows. It was a hot sunny day, so all of the water attractions were really popular. The prices were pretty fair in comparison with other amusement park type places. There was really only one main eating place which was decent. The only real complaint (and reason for the 4 stars) was the lack of staff. The ice cream/slushy station had a really long line and the poor guy working had a lot of grumpy people to deal with. There was like one person working each attraction and most of the workers seemed less than thrilled to be there. That being said, the bumper boats guy was great! We will definitely go back again. But maybe in the fall when it won't be meltingly hot.

Great place to take kids you've got various attractions and animals .The only problem is the food they don't let you enter with food, on the second day we bought the food at one of the restaurants and it cost over 50 euros for 2 adults and 2 children, it's was the same type of food as if you went to McDonald's but double the price. The spectacular is not worth the effort

It is a small castle, there is really not much inside. Church was small, but nice, entrance is free. To turn on the lights in the church you need to drop a euro. Parking is a bit confusing and be careful driving on tiny streets. It is a small town and besides the castle/church there is not much to visit. If you want a see a town that has a feel of "old" Spain, it is worth visit.

(Translated by Google) I love this mix of church and castle, although I am more of the latter. 11th century enclosure on a previously existing pre-Romanesque temple. Beautiful views to and from the monument from many kilometers around. It has the most richly decorated Gothic façade in the Foral Community of Navarra. A pleasant surprise along the way.

(Translated by Google) Small village full of charm, very cute and relaxing with its dominating Church. The village and its church are well worth a look. Besides, at the top of the church you can find a super nice little place which offers a very beautiful view with orientation maps.
Just a piece of advice, park at the foot of the village, do not try to go up to the heart of the village by car because the streets are very narrow and sometimes it is impossible to turn around. An SUV does not pass or passes with great difficulty.

(Translated by Google) Ujué is a beautiful medieval town perched on top of a plateau. When we begin to ascend to the town it seems that everything is very close, but you have to go up and up until you reach the foot of these walls through its narrow streets and steep slopes, but it is worth it.
At the top, Santa María de Ujué welcomes us, the fortress church of Santa María S.XI-XII-XIV, a national monument and one of the most important manifestations of medieval architecture in Navarra. Currently, two towers remain, Cuatro Vientos and Picos, which look more like a fortress than a sanctuary.
One of the jewels of the church of Santa María is the South Door, from the 14th century. One of the best works of Navarrese Gothic.
Inside, a Gothic lattice separates the Romanesque chevet from the Gothic-style central nave. In the central apse, the image of Santa María de Ujué is preserved, it is one of the oldest Romanesque images in Navarra. (1190)
The image of the Virgin of Ujué is a unique carving made of wood around 1190.

Bardenas Reales is a vast desert region known for its soaring canyons, sandstone cliffs, and rocky outcrops. The Hotel Aire de Bardenas offers a unique stay with its modernist design rising unexpectedly from the rocky earth at the border of the desert. Visitors can explore the area by car, quad, or enduro bikes but should be cautious as some parts are challenging to navigate.
Stunning place!! We explored the Bardenas on bikes. Recommend to go early to beat the crowds and avoid the afternoon heat.
