The Caminito del Rey, also known as The Kings Pathway, is a famous walkway in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Malaga, Spain. Well worth a visit, particularly if you’re in the 9am slot (or walk up and purchase) and can then get ahead of the crowds!
I’d also add that the most interesting parts are the view and the OLD path. The newly renovated path doesn’t give much “thrill” as it’s carefully installed and safe.

This is really spectacular. Amazing canyon hiking trip. A restored path, mostly hanging at the cliffs. Well maintained en clean. We did it with a guide and it was well worth the extra money. Bring plenty of water and food, during the summer!
Mark de Loose — Google review
We swam in the reservoir. The water is always warm. But the water level is low at the moment. So the walk down to the waters edge can be treacherous to walk on. There are public toilets and a cafe at the top by the road. People take kayaks or other inflatables.
Tracey Maxwell — Google review
This is definitely a must see and do when visiting Malaga city. Just a good hour of driving from the city and you are already on a walking path with an amazing canyon and surroundings. Make sure you have enough water, snacks, sun cream and appropriate shoes with you. You can expect to spend here a couple of hours. Well worth the sweat and time. Highly recommend it. 🙌
Luka Uvodic — Google review
What a stunning place to visit. If you suffer from vertigo (as I do) then this will definitely be a challenge as the boardwalk attached to the side of the mountain is planked and you can see through it! It was a challenge for me but I am so glad I persevered as the reward was epic views. You are given a safety helmet and besides at the start but then your time is your own and you can take as long (or short) a time as you wish.
David Hadley — Google review
This was one of the most unique experiences I've done while traveling! You walk a path through the mountains and along a cliff face to a spectacular bridge spanning the canyon. Beautiful natural views of trees, wildlife, and unique rock formations! There is some difficulty in the hike, so be prepared, but it is appropriate for anyone in decent shape! Highly recommend this hike if you have the chance!
David Canonic — Google review
Very very busy, so many visitors, the staff were wonderful at controlling the hoards, and ensured we all got the maximum benefit from the walk.
Whilst on the board walks just think how safe you feel, and then look at the old path below!
So pleased I went, it wasn't too hard, but it wasn't a scorching hot day either.
Mick Pelling — Google review
We had SUCH A GREAT AND INTERESTING TOUR! Really highly recommend. I usually don’t take away a lot of information from such tours but this one was incredible. The nature the history - stunning and super interesting. In general the closest we came yet to a classic US national park feeling. It is an easy and safe hike - nothing to worry about.
Blaue Katze — Google review
Instructions on website and sings in the actual place should be improved a little, but not to worry. When you get to the tight place the staff is 👍 helpful and super nice also fluent in different languages. And the scenery..wow. . highly recommend
Tuomas Pihlaj?rvi — Google review
It was a bit crowded and quite hot, but also very much worth it. You don’t need any special preparation or gear. Just good shoes and the ability to walk mostly downhill for a few miles.
The bus leaves from the southern terminus every 30 minutes and costs 2.50. If your time is tight plan accordingly.
Nathan Voelker — Google review
An amazing experience! A tourist point of interest, but that's to be expected. Beautiful views, fantastic geological and engineering history, and just a fun time.
Since you have to buy entrance tickets, check-in, get gear, and go with the flow anyway, I highly recommend a guided tour. It's not overly involved, and the ease of logistics and added educational nuggets were really worth it. We used and would recommend "Aloratur". We got the tickets through Get Your Guide. Ana was our guide, and she was awesome!
We didn't include shuttle bus tickets as part of our purchase (and not critical) but I would. If you drive and park, you'll need to take a bus to return. The trail is point-to-point.
Make sure you prepare for at least 3 hours of time (I'm sure time of day, week, and year depends).
Kevin Jennings — Google review
I can recommend this trip to everyone who can walk the 8 kilometres from one end to the other. If you have not done it before, have a guide ours was brilliant. Very informative, Very knowledgeable and also made it enjoyable while walking. I think his name was Pueblo, he spoke perfect English and so did Paul who did the health and safety side of things at the start. I had a partial knee replacement in April and did this in November, with no problems at all.
The views are Spectacular and they did not rush you on the trail. A lot of steps at the end, which is the worst part. Don’t let that put you off.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 👍

This is a MUST place to visit if you are in Andalusia. We went with family and friends and had the best time ever. I will definitely visit again when I have the chance. You walk around 2-3 hours depending on your steps and how much you want to enjoy the views. It’s very relaxing and energetic. Don’t miss it please.
Coquito Rico — Google review
Really nice walking trek through the gorge. The gorge itself is about 5km / 2 hours walk but there’s another 1.5km walk from the parking. It can also take some time to find parking so get there well in advance of your booking (which is recommended to book a few weeks in advance, especially on weekends)
Ofir Frenkel — Google review
Beautiful, hot and not too arduous. The last part back to the bus stop was the worst part if the walk as in full sun.
The caminito itself was glorious, majestic and wondrous....if you have a reasonable level of fitness, suitable shoes and plenty of water, you'll have a fabulous time.
Plenty of wildlife en route, including 2.7m wing spanned vultures, mountain goats in trees, other bird life and even frogs.
The surrounding countryside is also worth the visit. Suggest taking swimming togs and towels so you can have a welcome dip in the lake after your hot walk.
I will definitely be back to do a non guided tour so I can take a bit more time to take in the fantastic surrounding countryside.
Jo — Google review
Generally the area is stunning... totally recommend it to visit in the beginning of a sunny day as you have a lot of things to explore around . Unfortunately didn't manage to visit the bridge as we arrived a bit late. Is a proper place for hiking exploring and walking so totally recommend it
Panagiotis Sarikas — Google review
Absolutely amazing place to visit was one of the main highlights of the trip.
Parking can be a little confusing as to where the start of the trail is but people
Are around to help.
The trail took us about 3 hours as we stopped a lot for photos. There is a bus at the end that will return you to the start for 5 euro
Well worth it to be honest. The views are just well see for yourself 😃
Kojin_Wolf — Google review
Lovely walk along the valley sides. Not for those petrified of heights. Take a drink with you. Done this 4 times now & love it. Wouldn't really recommend the guided walk. Best to book an early session in the summer as it can get very hot later in the day.
The bus to get back up to the car park can be a bit of a bun fight.
Mr M B (MB_MK) — Google review
The meeting point for the guided tour was not clearly explained or marked in the verbiage or around the route. Outside of the meeting point and completely missing our guided tour start time, this was a beautiful hike. I felt safe along the entire route. There were many stunning views along the way. Parking and shuttle bus were easy to navigate.
Melissa — Google review
Very nice place to visit. Stunning view!! Its an easy path even for those not accomodated with hiking. Recommend bringing water with you since there is nothing along the way to get some, only after exiting you will find couple of small kiosks.
Overall a very nice experience.
I recommend purchasing the tickets in advance.
Claudiu Serban — Google review
An excellent route and one to experience. It is a fairly easy walk (only about 5.5k) but there are some steep stairs at points on the route to be aware of for those not so fit. Don't attempt if you are frightened of heights - there is no going back once you've started. The views are fantastic and photo opportunities abound. You need to wear a hard hat (due to potential falling rocks) but it is simply a precaution so, for anyone who cares, your hair will get flattened.
John McLean — Google review
Amazing walk, very easy and smooth. Even in the rain it felt safe. If you don't like heights then this might not be for you otherwise it's worth checking it out. Spectacular, breathtaking views, very relaxing walk. It took me approximately 1.5h without a guide.
Paulina Noskowicz — Google review
Great experience, and not as tough as other reviews might have you believe. I am not someone who likes heights but the path is well protected with railings along the cliffs. Magnificent views, and great guide gave history and interesting info.
I booked parking, but there were no pointers to where it was located, and we didn't find it.
Vincent Murphy — Google review
Book online early as tickets sell out weeks in advance. Or you can queue for one there but need to buy the one with a guide €18. So buy online!. You don’t have to use the guided tour though. It takes a lot longer with them as very slow depending on the group.
We managed to find a parking space lower down after the tunnel entrance but it was lucky.
Lots of walking for this experience. Walking up to the tunnel entrance then down a while to the main entrance. Toilets and drink machines there.
The walk from there is relatively level. But steps up and down when there are the wooden railed walkways.
At the end there are lots of steps up and then downhill on gravel track to drop off helmets. Some food and souvenir places. But then another walk up hill for a while to get to the bus stop and train station. You can buy a bus ticket there and queue for transfer bus back to tunnel entrance, visitor centre and Mirador parking. €2.50 per person each way if you park at visitor centre. Every hour and half hour. Once the bus is full you have to wait for the next one.
We loved the walk but thought some people on it might have found it much harder. Some were struggling at the start with the steps.
Bring water and snacks. Lots of birds to see.
From where we parked to the start of tunnel entrance for walk then to the final bus stop took us 2 hours and was about 5.6 miles. We were not with a guide so could go at our own pace.
Judith C L — Google review
I loved this walk. It's a very easy walk and doesn't require a great deal of fitness.
It's great to get out of the city and experience some hills.
We couldn't buy tickets. So we just turned up on the off chance. Surprisingly we got it pretty much straight away on a tour which was €18. One thing to mention is that if you are going with children then you have to prove their age. So take some kind of ID otherwise they will refuse you entry.
The guide Sergio was so knowledgeable about the area. From everything to the hydro water, plantation and the geology. Super informative.
I would highly recommend this area. It's beautiful.
Simon Pears — Google review
A fantastic hike, really great experience. Do make sure you book well in advance, we could only get guided tour tickets as general access was sold out. The tour was good and informative however the walk could easily be done at your own pace without a guide. The shuttle bus service from entrance to exit runs very frequently and is easy to use. It is a 20 minute walk either side from the bus stop to the entrance and exit of the walk
Lobo Park is a unique destination that offers visitors the opportunity to observe and study wolves in a semi-natural environment. Unlike traditional zoos, Lobo Park prioritizes providing an authentic habitat for the animals while also educating the public about these magnificent creatures. The guides are knowledgeable and friendly, offering tours in both Spanish and English. Visitors can learn about different types of wolves and gain a deeper understanding of their behavior and lifestyle.
It is a great option when you're looking for an alternative experience whilst you are in Antequerra. Just a short ride out of town. An educational 1.5 walk in the beautiful mountains and learn about the wolfs.
Stephan van der Holst — Google review
Lobo Park is an excellent place to visit if you want to learn about wolves and see them close up. It is not a traditional zoo and they are clearly very passionate about giving the wolves a natural setting/lifestyle, and educating the public about these beautiful animals. Our guide on the tour was very knowledgable and friendly (they explain in both Spanish and English). We learnt so much and had a wonderful time seeing the different types of wolf.
Bec Middleton — Google review
It was an amazing experience! They are doing a great job with wolves there and being able too see those wonderful creatures while getting a very informative tour is an experience I highly recommend
Paolo Sprecacenere — Google review
Fantastic place even we came very to the closure (17:50) and were not able to join the tour. Last tour starts 16:30 - pay attention! 👆🧐 there is place to park your car, take a rest, buy coffee or souvenirs. We had a chance to see wolves a little bit but definitely will come back for the full tour.
Mikhail Bakhrakh — Google review
Guide was very good and very knowledgeable. Took time to answer the kids questions which is important as they will be the ones taking care of the wolves in the future.
It's clear the wolves come first and most of them have plenty of space to roam around in.
The facility is great and I would definitely recommend a visit :)
Kirsti Deacon-Smith — Google review
My second visit to a wolf zoo and I was not disappointed. Cute animals (not just wolves) have a long and happy life here. Fascinating talking to the guide - made me think about human behavior. Well stocked souvenir shop.
Keith Drummond — Google review
This was my sons choice and I must admit it has been one of my favourite activities throughout our holiday, and we even travelled 2 hours to get there. If you like wolves then you must visit this park as its very informative, interesting and lots of wolves to see. Plus a few other animals.
Gary H — Google review
Amazing experience. There is nothing like being able to see wolves in their wild habitat. Nothing like a zoo- these wolves have their own mountain to themselves. The tour was fascinating, as Shelina explained many wolf behaviours and how they relate to us as humans. The kids loved it and now they want an annual pass- we met another family who visit every six months to see the wolf families as they grow and evolve. We will be returning soon!
Glenn Duffy — Google review
My first experience of wolves, and I was blown away. The park owners are knowledgeable, witty and fun, but the wolves are just amazing. Go here, it's well worth a visit!
Lex Groves — Google review
Amazing place well worth a visit. The tour lasts 90mins and the guide was very informative and knowledgeable. We even got to see some Wolf puppies. Also a fox cub.
Nick Parker — Google review
Very interesting tour through the park. In winter the wolves are very active. We even got a concert of howling wolves!
John Eckhardt — Google review
Amazing...experience..wonderful staff who care so much about the wolves and love to share their knowledge with yourselves..I wouldn't have missed it for the world..
Jill Gilbert — Google review
This is worth a visit! We had a very friendly guide who spoke perfectly English. It was very informative. They try to treat the wolves as naturally as possible. There are also a few other (rescued) animals. Every animal looks very healthy. They have some very sweet dogs too :)
Carmen Wong — Google review
We have been going for several years because our daughter loves wolves and we enjoy every visit. The wolves live in large enclosures so that they live as natural life as possible.
Lisa Chirgwin — Google review
My children love animals, and one in particular is very fond of wolves. We really enjoyed our visit our tour guide was amazing and you can feel the passion when she talks. I feel I have learned a lot she took the time to explain and we really enjoyed our visit.

Carr. de Antequera, km 16, 29200 Antequera, Málaga, Spain
The most famous beach in Malaga, Malagueta is a sandy city beach with seafood shacks and a playground. It's close to the historic center and is popular with families during the summer. There are all the amenities you'd expect, such as restaurants, bars, a children's playground and shops.
Beautiful beach which was pretty much empty except for the morning runners. Loads of deck chairs. Warm enough in December to just chill out
T — Google review
Playa La Malagueta in Malaga is a true gem along the Costa del Sol, offering visitors a picturesque setting to unwind and soak in the beauty of the Mediterranean coast. My experience at this beach was nothing short of delightful.
Upon arriving at Playa La Malagueta, I was immediately struck by the pristine cleanliness of the beach. The golden sands stretched out before me, inviting me to kick off my shoes and take a leisurely stroll along the shore. The water was crystal clear, perfect for a refreshing swim or simply dipping my toes in to cool off.
One of the highlights of my visit was watching the sunset from Playa La Malagueta. As the sky painted hues of orange and pink across the horizon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe. It was the perfect backdrop for sipping a glass of wine and reflecting on the beauty of the moment.

Amazing beach in Malaga city, 10 minutes by walk from city center. Beach is beautiful, clean, you can find free shower and toilet, plenty of beach bars and restaurants for good price and of coarse sun beds and umbrellas for great price ( we have paid just 10 euro for 2 sun beds and 1 umbrella for day ) water is not so warm about 23 degrees and until 13.00 very clean, after become little dirty from people and boats. Beach mostly are with sand and very small stones! So we enjoy it so much and definitely recommend!
Afrim Mirfa — Google review
Nice, spacious and mostly clean beach (for August). Depending on how close you are to the port, the water changes it clearness and cleanness. Its temperature also varies from 16°C to 27°C depending on areas. Parasols/lounges are 10€ at most places (remember to bring cash). Sand is nice, not the finest but soft enough for my taste. Would go back!
Nevena Slovi? — Google review
Busy and clean beach. Can't give it 5 stars as it is beach in the busy city.
Other than that, it's a nice place to stay and enjoy sunny weather.
Eleonora Gudkova — Google review
Lovely beach, close enough to the city shops, and also super markets close enough by to grab beers & snacks. The sand itself is not good enough to build sand castles in, which did leave me slightly disappointed. Overall though great beach, would have given 5 stars had it not been for the non sand castley sand.
Jack Chilcott — Google review
Beatiful beach lining the city. There many grass spots with palms where you can sit and enjoy the views.
Michal Tomko — Google review
Was only able to spend a few hours here but I was already checking prices to see how much it would be to come back! Such a great experience
Kalie Belvin — Google review
I will give minus 10 stars, but it is not possible on Google .The amount of mes and dirt cigarette buts bear caps and pieces of glass on the sand was appalling. No beach in the world should be like this .Even the beach bed was dirty and dusty. I didn't expect that in a tourist hot spot
Gheorghe Casaneanu — Google review
Very beautiful beach with beautiful places nearby. In August the water is very warm even at night. Beautiful views. I will definitely come back here again.

Nice place , i liked the tour in the carriage. The weather was amazing and the ppl are very nice.
A Flou — Google review
Good place for a long and relaxing walk by the seaside. I visited Malagueta in December, and a few restaurants were open along the beach.
Cristina Paceagiu — Google review
Good chill vibes at this beach. A little dusty from the sand (can’t explain, but never seen this before). Pebble beach with brown sand. Quite busy, lots of people. Chairs and umbrella rental is available. Plenty of bars close by for drinks and seafood.
Michael Terwindt — Google review
Very beautiful beach located 5-10 minutes walk from Malaga Centre. It is very clean and well maintained. Lots of restaurants, cafes and nearby facilities available for use.
Very spacious area too, good place to jog and do exercise. Plenty seating area available and small kiosks for drinks etc.
Lee Grint — Google review
I like this beach. It's usually easier to get to than the other one I like which is easily about 3km away.
I like the grassy areas with the palm trees as I don't really like sand. It's nice to walk along side the beach too and you can walk a very long distance.
There are toilet and showers near.
Some parts of the beach you can rent sunloungers under parasols.
There's usually little kiosks nearby for ice creams, snacks, drinks etc. Some areas of the beach also have beach side resturants.
The only downsides to the beach (which I think is typical for most beaches) are the people wandering up and down trying to sell you things. (Tip, headphones in, sunglasses on and pretend to be asleep).
There was a guy trying to sell beach towels despite being able to see I am actually on a towel. But there's also a guy selling cold drinks which is good for when you are feeling thirsty but too lazy to move, and a couple of ladies go round offering massages which I've had a couple of and they're not bad but they will try and sell you more massages.
The other downside is the litter, usually lots of cigarette ends, bottle caps, empty tins / bottles despite being plenty of bins around (i guess the drinking at night as its mainly beer bottles). There is a crew that cleans up some of the beach but they really can't get everything. But if you have a towel then it's not too bad, and every beach has a degree of litter.
Karen Chappell — Google review
For a city beach, this is a great one - just minutes away from the city center. I has plenty of amenities- little cafes, playground for children, green area shaded by the palm trees and chezlongs with umbrellas. The toilets are free of charge and in the afternoon can get really dirty; the chezlongs are quite pricey - 12 EUR, and this was in january!!! The beach itself is pretty clean and if you take a stroll you can reach the port with plenty of cafes and shops.
El Torcal de Antequera is a vast natural parkland featuring towering limestone formations, lush vegetation and hiking trails. The reserve's distinct limestone rocks have been shaped by erosion over time, giving it an otherworldly appearance. It is located around an hour's drive north of Malaga and has been designated as a natural park since 1978 due to its exceptional flora and fauna.
Gorgeous scenery, views and hiking trails. Watch for the Spanish version of mountain goats. Plentiful parking. I think there is food available but didn't try. Restrooms out of paper - Europe! Be prepared for wind and a sharp temperature drop compared to the lowlands.
Carol Cushing — Google review
Nice for easy and short walk. Parking on top, just next to path start. Restaurant/bar available there with pleasant prices. Great panoramic views. Rocks on path very slippery though during rain. Brush and bucket for cleaning shoes at the end of path is very nice and thoughtful touch!
Maciek Gruchala — Google review
This is a fond favourite of mine. I've explored it countless times. It has a good restaurant and public toilets. There is also a gift shop.
The wildlife to be seen includes Ibex , vultures, sheep , and birds, and I recently saw a beautiful fox.
The rock formations are spectacular, and you can seek out fossils. The terrain may be challenging for the very young and elderly.
Bernadette Mahoney — Google review
A most amazing place, with Karst formations that inspire your fantasy and are wildly different than the surroundings.
Try to come here late in the day, maybe to see the sunset - so you can avoid the loud crowds and just take in the sight.
People at the service center are exceptionally helpful and friendly, and they speak English.
Kåre Anmelderen — Google review
There are 2 ways to enjoy El Torcal. You can drive to the top (but get there early to be sure of a parking place) and take a short walk around to enjoy the views. Or better still, park at the bottom car park and take the walk up and enjoy fabulous views of the landscape and wild life. Once up, there is a short walk of 40 minutes or so; or a much longer one of 2 hours or more. Probably best to take your own snacks if walking although there is a cafe for donuts, burgers and drinks. Great experience however you choose.
Mark Hamilton — Google review
Stunning natural rock formations and views. If you don't want to hike, you can just go to Mirador de Ventanillas, it is an easy 100m walk from the parking area. Well worth the drive up.
Bec Middleton — Google review
Really enjoyed this park.
We went on a Sunday and while it was very busy we still had a great time.
We arrived at 10.30 and the top car park was already full.
A good shuttle bus system is in place so we were able to park in the bottom car park and catch the shuttle for €2 per person for the return trip (keep your ticket for the return trip),
When we came back to our car about 12.30 the bottom car park was also full and people were parked on the side of the road.
I’d recommend coming early or later in the afternoon when some people have left.
The scenery is great, we enjoyed the walk and the cafe had good coffee.
Cheryl Kirwin — Google review
Very interesting place to visit. The road a bit curvy so prepare the children or the ones who may become sick.
You will need a couple of hours to check at least more nice points there.
Also there is a chance to see a lot of sheep and goats on your way to the Park. Also we’ve seen a mountain goat 🐐- so cool!
Roman Belfer — Google review
Fabulous location for walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. Stunning views and good visitor centre at the top with cafe and toilets. It can get quite busy with cars and tourist buses in the top car park but lots of parking at the very bottom if you fancy a nice walk up!!

Please do not miss this nature wonder when in the area! Had the best hike I could imagine. Took the yellow trail, which can be a little challenging for some. Proper hiking boots/shoes are a must, in my opinion. Reserve 3h for the yellow path and 1h for green; this is including time for little breaks to enjoy breathtaking views and taking hundreds of photos. Rocks' formations are amazing. Have a stop and think how on earth they have appeared. Breath with clean air and really enjoy the extra steps you are going to take that day. I would love to have this kind of place around me. Free parking with loads of bays. Very clean.

We walked through yellow path with 2 kids Agnes 7 and 10. It was rather easy hike with beautiful views. It took us Lea than 2 hours including picnic and numerous stops for photography. The path was marked well enough to find your way.

Increíble scenery and excellent place for a walk through the karst limestone formations

Amazing place to take a hike and discover interesting rock formations that aren't that common to find in nature. We took a shorter, green road that's easy to hike with kids (about 40 min without kids they say) and yellow one makes a bigger circle.

You find this place very easily, it's super close to the parking. You can simply park your car and explore different paths. Rocks are all around. We only did a super short hike close to the center and found fossils, met sheeps, and goats. There is no need to hike for hours if you don't have time. I would recommend visiting this place after leaving Antequera. In the end you can drink a coffee and eat a snack at the center. Toilets are also available.

Wow, our family had an absolutely amazing time at El Torcal de Antequera! This unique natural park in southern Spain is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves stunning views and outdoor adventure.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the sheer beauty of the landscape. The park is home to a series of towering limestone formations that have been sculpted into breathtaking shapes over millions of years. As we hiked through the park, we were constantly stopping to snap photos and take in the stunning vistas.
But it wasn't just the scenery that made our visit so memorable. El Torcal de Antequera is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including birds of prey, mountain goats, and even wild boar! We were lucky enough to spot several of these amazing creatures during our visit, which was a real highlight for our kids.
One of the things we loved most about El Torcal de Antequera was the range of activities on offer. We hiked along several different trails, including some that were more challenging and others that were more accessible for our younger children. We also took part in a guided tour that provided fascinating insights into the geology and ecology of the park.
Overall, our family can't recommend El Torcal de Antequera highly enough. It's a truly special place that offers something for everyone, from jaw-dropping scenery to unforgettable wildlife encounters. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful nature reserve between Malaga and Antequera. Beautiful road to it. Beautiful rock formations. Nice walking routes of different lengths that are easy to do for most people. Nice visitor center. In clear weather beautiful views.

Breathtaking views, wildlife and hiking roads. One of the best things to do is visit this place - and it is free!
There are green, yellow and red paths to take, all go in circular direction. Paths are guided with arrows for you on the way. We arrived late so only took the green one, which took about 1 hour with a lot of stops and photographs.
In the evening it gets really cold here so be prepared when coming late.

Beautiful and so pieceful place. Absolut highlight that I will remember for life was a huge male mountain goat that was following us piecefully on several meters distance! Unreal. We saw also 2 baby goats, and many more of his harem

incredible, place to spend hours walking among rocky landscapes. You have different routes, not very long but depending on the atmospheric conditions, they can be more difficult to do, due to water and mud. In my house there was only a little wind. The viewpoints have impressive views. recommended for half a day 🙂

Beautiful landscape with quite spectacular rocks. There are three different trails.
The easiest is the green one and it’s 1.5 km. Followed by the yellow one with 3.0 km. The orange one is not circular and 3.8 km.
⚠️ The yellow one can get very, very muddy and SLIPPERY at the end. Be prepared and wear good hiking boots.

Perfect place for a short (45 min.or 2 hours) hike. There are two types of hike, both are easy and very nice views. Visitors centre well organised. For children or elder people no problem too.

If you love all kinds and shapes of rocks, this is a place for you! Beautiful, free of charge, with quite many hiking possibilities (if only you use AllTrails and your imagination). It's quite muddy this time of the year, so better come prepared for that.

Calle el Torcal de Antequera, 70, 75, 29200 Antequera, Málaga, Spain
The Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, a 1300s palace in Mudéjar style, boasts terraced gardens, Gothic towers offering panoramic views, and Roman mosaics. Steeped in history, it served as the permanent tribunal for the Spanish Inquisition and was used by Isabella and Ferdinand as their headquarters during their campaign against the Nasrid dynasty. The monarchs even met Christopher Columbus here before his journey to the Americas.
Excellent, 3 palaces in one. Lovely beautiful gardens in Italianate style, English style (sort of) and a paradise garden. Cafe and toilets inside. Very crowded world heritage site. A must see, highly recommended. A guided tour is a very good idea as it's the history that makes the place. Essential to book in advance or you may not get in. Identification needed too.
Brian Osborne — Google review
Absolutely not questioning the historical value of this place, however, we expected something more.
The gardens are indeed beautiful, but the time in the historical buildings I can only describe as max. 10 minutes spent and the lack of English translations made it difficult to understand the events that took place there in the past.
In addition, it was clearly stated that students enter for half price, but at the checkout I was informed that I must have a special international card to get this discount.
Queue all day long for 30min-1h standing even with an electronic ticket.
A simple comment at the end - one big disappointment.
Karolina Palussek — Google review
Simply beautiful. Gardens and maintenance of fountains far surpasses the Seville Alcazar. Highly recommend. Wasn't hugely busy but larger your groups blocking paths can be frustrating. Highly recommend going early and prebooking.
Sam Taylor-Elliott — Google review
Don’t go if the wait is long. It is nice but nothing extraordinary. Not much to see in the castle. The gardens are more interesting. Cheap to go but not worth a wait of more than 30 minutes. No need to buy a guided tour. They should allow to buy tickets on line and not just on premises like now which creates long waiting lines. Terrible in 2022.
Loo Wee — Google review
After reading a few reviews which seemed to say there wasn't much to see, I was hesitant of what to expect. But, I thought for the price it was definitely worth seeing. I think it helps to see on a warm (Hot) sunny day, but it really is an oasis, if you take your time and ensure sit down in the gardens for a bit and watch the world go by. Agreed, in the building not a lot to see but has some great mosaics on show. For the price definitely worth a visit.

Some say Thai is not that impressive of a site. The problem may be that some come here just after going to the catedral. It does not compare but the attraction is very good. Small castle that looks mostly sec 15 but with some Roman base. Garden is beautiful
jose lourenco — Google review
No queue to get in but Had to join a pretty long queue to get up the tower. However the wait was worth the views. Not too many steps to the top but gets a bit tight around the steps up to the turret. The gardens are lovely and well worth a wander around. Lots of orange and lemon trees and water.
Jac — Google review
This is a really nice place to visit on a day trip by train from Sevilla. The architecture is a blend of 1300s middle-eastern architecture with later Greco-Roman Christian themes. The original architects would be turning over in their graves if they knew the entire place was later taken over by Christian Monarchs who brought-in their own religious style. It's kind of like when you revisit the house you grew up in only to discover it is totally different than you remember. The weather was perfect on the day we came and by luck, we went up in the tower at sunset. I took beautiful photos.

It is a simple but nice garden with a lot of water and well manicured trees. Love the spaciousness and the sound of the fountain. Definitely a place for a quiet escape if you want to sit on the stone bench on the far end when not many people around.

Just stunning, such a lot to take in. Beautiful buildings and fortress walls to walk, very impressive. The gardens and water features are amazing. I did notice a lot of lighting in the gardens so you may be able to visit at evening time? Ours was a late morning visit in late March, tickets available across the road in a small booth not at the entrance.

Such a beauty of garden and building. I love the moorish style. Alcázar Córdoba is like a little sister of the one in Sevilla. Just amazing. The gardens offer many shady places, which invite for a little relaxed stay. Just enjoy this masterpiece.

Elegant gardens with pools, fountains, flowers and trees. Interesting museum with intricate mosaics. It was extremely hot and there were not many places to sit in the shade outdoors and no seats inside at all. However, this was one of my favourite places on this trip as it was so stunningly beautiful.
Vanessa Brown — Google review
The Castle provides cover for some reconstructed mosaics. Climb the spiralling staircase to the top and the castle ramparts, providing an extended vista of the Cordoba old city. The well laid out gardens have ornamental koi carp, water gardens and extensive topiary. Well worth a visit.
Laurie Monk — Google review
The gardens and views are 4-5 stars, (though the interior would be 2 stars) - which is what focusing on.
Do buy tickets in advance if going, we bypassed 40 people in line at 10:35 because we did and it had grown significantly by the time we exited about 40-50 minutes later.
Inside is pretty minimal and no real signs so you would need to use a guide (personal or electronic). If willing to take the many steps up to the tower you’ll be rewarded with great views of the city.
After leaving the alcazar you will go through the gardens which are quite beautiful, and includes a few shady spots with seats (nice for a quick rest).
Toilets are near the exit through the garden, which were functional and mostly clean.

You can't visit Cordoba without visiting the Alcazar. It has such a rich history, and the building is very special. It's absolutely worth the €5 entry, but we had to queue for 15-20mins on a Saturday, and it was busy inside (you have to queue to go up the towers and onto the ramparts, although it's well organised, and worth a further wait). You may not like the tight, dark spiral stairs, and the height might not suit everyone. You can get on-line tickets in advance, but we looked and could only see much more expensive tickets with extras eg audio guide. The gardens are beautiful too. We took about an hour and a half to see everything.
Peter Barratt — Google review
I loved wandering around this ancient Alcazar. It's very well maintained and has lovely gardens.
Well worth the visit. I think we got lucky because we did not have a wait and had not purchased our tickets in advance on a Saturday in November. The weather was fantastic too.
Michael Loechel — Google review
It's a world heritage site. The gardens are spectacular. The gardener was picking lemons and gave me one.
Dan Cook — Google review
Lovely gardens but the palace is a bit underwhelming with a few mosaics. Queue for the tower is ridiculous and you'll miss the sarcophagus if you're not careful. Gardens are probably better when in flower but interesting nevertheless. Mayores get free entry. My suggestion would be to do this place before the Mezquita because everyone seems to do the Mezquita first. It depends on your time of course but both can be done easily on the same day.
Brian O'Hagan — Google review
The gardens are beautiful, but make sure to go on a sunny day. The Alcazar is minuscule and very unorganised, staff was not able to properly organise the way up and down the tower.
Tereza Eickmann — Google review
Skip the queues! Purchasing tickets online saved me a significant wait time—around 20 to 30 minutes. For the best experience at the tower, arrive early; sunset visits often mean long lines, but the view is worth it. Inside the Alcazar, more exploration spaces would enhance the experience; it currently lacks significant points of interest.
On a positive note, the garden is expansive and exudes a lovely, cozy atmosphere.
However, improvements are needed. The exit's toilets were not clean or well-maintained, which was disappointing. Additionally, it was disheartening to see hungry fish in the garden. Overall, with a few enhancements, this could be an even more enjoyable destination.

The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, also known as the Mezquita, is an elaborate and intricate place of worship in Córdoba. It boasts a Moorish-style design with a hall adorned by arched pillars and a basilica showcasing stunning frescos. This ornate structure is considered the most significant monument in the western Muslim world, according to Turismo de Cordoba. Once a Visigoth church and mosque, it is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A beautiful place to visit and a must see if you visit Cordoba. The Mosque/Cathedral is a very unique place, which has lots of history behind it. If you go for the first time get the audio guide its really good and explains all the history behind it over the centuries. You can easily spend a full day in Córdoba. Make sure you visit the Roman Bridge too, it's literally just outside round the side. Overall Córdoba was amazing lots nice places around to take nice photos and plenty of souvenir shops and places to eat. X

Must visit while in Cordoba! The Mosque-Cathedral is welcoming for all. The blend of multiple types of religious and historical architecture is a marvel. I appreciated every moment of this visit. I wanted to pray while
Inside but didn’t feel entirely comfortable doing so while people walked around freely. For Christians however there are pews set up and services that take place daily. This did not deter me from having peaceful and silent moments throughout my visit. We were concerned about dress code as it is hot in cordoba but if you dress modestly then it will be fine. We bought tickets online for 11 euros per person but the time slot may be a suggestion and not set in stone. We arrived early for our 12pm time slot. We walked in at 11am by having our QR codes scanned by security without any issue. Beware of people hanging out by the entrance that want to read your palm. If you have your palm read then separation of you and your money is in your future. Tons of shops all around the grand structure as well as many good local food options.

Impressive mosque, but very similar to a lot of others around this area of Spain. And at ten euros for a discounted entry without audio guide it’s far too expensive for what’s in there. There are some artefacts and displays at the end of the large hall but they don’t have any descriptions of what they are so it’s ultimately pointless. Church in a mosque though so that’s pretty cool , like a place of worshiped squared ⛪️^2

One of the most interesting cultural attractions I’ve visited. The building is enormous and features such a wealth of history dating back thousands of years. The architecture of the property is incredible too and a clash of different styles really adds to experience. Thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend hiring an audio guide to be able to fully understand the context and historical background surrounding each and every area of the building.

I am writing to share with you my recent visit to The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, a truly remarkable and authentic building that left a lasting impression on me.
The architecture of the mosque-cathedral is simply outstanding, with its blend of Islamic and Christian influences creating a unique and breathtaking atmosphere. I was particularly struck by the simplicity and beauty of the floors and walls, which added to the overall serene ambience of the place.
One aspect that stood out to me was the peacefulness and tranquility within the mosque-cathedral. I found myself wanting to return on my own to spend more time in silence, soaking in the historical and spiritual significance of the place.
I also noticed the thoughtfulness put into accessibility within the building. The limited number of stairs made it easier for those with disabilities to navigate the space comfortably.
On a practical note, I did not come across any bathrooms inside the mosque-cathedral during my visit. Additionally, I observed that there was no souvenir store inside the building itself, although there were some wonderful options available outside.
Overall, my experience at The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba was truly unforgettable, and I look forward to the opportunity to revisit this architectural masterpiece in the future.

A very interesting place to visit while in Cordoba, Spain. The interior of this cathedral/mosque really shows the unique mixture of Islamic and Catholic, which definitely speaks about the story that happened in this place. The iconic red and white arcs that you can find everywhere in this building are very eye-pleasing, and photogenic too! In the centre of the building there is also a very beautiful altar and congregation area. You can't miss this place when travelling to Spain. The garden before you enter this building is undeniably beautiful, we came here during winter (December), and the trees were full of vibrant oranges, really can't stop staring at them. There is also a small "town" where you can find some souvenirs and restaurants to eat. Overall, a very unique and beautiful place to come and see!
Rebecca Wartin — Google review
This is one of the more beautiful and interesting buildings in Spain. The textures and decorations that blend the Muslim and Christian places of worship are gorgeous. Red and white double arches will follow you everywhere inside. In the rear as you enter you'll find lots of exhibit, treasures on display, and side rooms. The main pews are in the center and surrounded by fine details you'd expect in a world class church. It's a must visit, buy a ticket in advance.
Michael Barton — Google review
Fantastic experience! the entrance fee is 20 euro and you will be given a time when you can enter the cathedral. You can spend as much time as you like. Both the Muslim part and the Catholic part of the structure are impressive in their own right, but the courtyard in front to f the temple is also impressive and should not be treated as an afterthought. It will take you at least an hour to properly tour the cathedral. If you visit on Sunday you will be asked to leave before the first mass begins, which I believe is at noon.
Robert Chomicz — Google review
Truly one of a kind. One of the most unique examples of architecture and history in all of Spain. Highly recommend a visit. It is within about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Would buy tickets a week or more in advance as times can fill up. Plan to spend at least an hour and a half here, or more if you like to read. One of my favorite attractions I've seen in my travels!

The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is an awe-inspiring place steeped in rich history.
Upon entering, you are immediately captivated by the distinct design features left behind by all those who once conquered this magnificent venue.
Though now predominantly a cathedral, it gracefully preserves a significant portion of Islamic influence, resulting in a captivating blend of both Christian and Islamic heritage.
The remaining Islamic structures are a sight to behold, exuding absolute beauty and making the ticket price well worthwhile.
Don't miss the opportunity to ascend the bell tower, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Córdoba city. The vantage point allows you to observe the sprawling old city and truly grasp its vastness.
To fully grasp the significance of the Mosque-Cathedral, consider either booking a guided tour or using a self-guided tour headset, as they offer in-depth explanations of each aspect during your exploration. Relying solely on a map might leave you feeling overwhelmed.
Take pleasure in exploring the external gardens without any additional cost; they offer a tranquil space for reflection.
Tickets for the bell tower are an additional attraction, and I highly recommend experiencing it, especially after traveling all this way.
Keep in mind that if you plan to visit both the cathedral and the bell tower, book the tower tickets at least an hour before or after your cathedral visit. Unfortunately, exiting the cathedral and re-entering later is not allowed.
Parking can be challenging, as there is no direct parking available nearby. Opt for one of the various paid car parks, and be prepared to walk approximately 15 minutes. Alternatively, free parking can be found further away on the surrounding residential streets, though the walk to the Mosque-Cathedral will be longer.
After your enriching visit, take the time to explore the charming local town, offering a plethora of quaint cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, and picturesque cobbled streets.
Overall, the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is a must-visit attraction that will leave an indelible impression on anyone exploring the beautiful city of Córdoba.

Amazing monument harmoniously combining Muslim and Christian architecture, symbolism, and prayer halls.
We were hugely impressed with the building and the history. This building was a church, then became a mosque, and was then converted to a cathedral. But the construction and architecture revealed the three periods even today. Especially beautiful was the coexisting of mosque and cathedral right next to each other, with the cathedral mostly covering the heart and highest part of the Mezquita, while the mosque sits around that.
We spent maybe two hours here.

If your a history lover this place is to be added to your list, this architectural marvel has gone from being a mosque to church to then a cathedral with its giant minaret turned church bell tower to its Islamic columns inside next to giant catholic relics and symbols all harmoniously blending together. Stepping inside was a moment of peace you can’t describe, the place is absolutely stunning with tall ceilings and proper lightning inside to set a mood. The green courtyard is spacious and has a water feature to take pics. This place is not to be missed I feel blessed to have witnessed this important piece of Spanish history.

This building is truly exceptional. We had a local guide (Lola) who brought to life the long history of the mosque and its adaptation into a cathedral.

Fantastic former mosque changed into katholic Church.
The €11 entry per adult is absolutely worth it.
You can easily spend an hour indoors to explore.
Definitely also book the bell tower too directly.

The bell tower must give a great overview of Cordoba.

I did not get a chance to go inside but I know tickets are €13. The outside is still so cool to walk around & explore. This place is enormous & it’s so crazy to think that architecture like this was done in the past without technology & still standing today. The town is also known for their bitter oranges here & has a mini orange tree in the middle courtyard. Would definitely recommend visiting! And it’s also right next to the bridge where games of thrones was shot apparently.

Thoroughly interesting building unlike any other I've seen before. Beautiful Islamic art and panelling on display. The arches are quite overwhelming in number but add such beauty to the building. Not crowded at all inside. Book ahead. The courtyard outside is also lovely for a shady walk.

You can't miss visiting a world heritage awarded monument when you are near by and this is no exception. It dies not look like anything from the outside. It's just a solid perimeter wall 8 m high penned in by all the shops and narrow lanes. As you enter the gate as if by magic it suddenly opens out to a courtyard full of orange trees. In regular rows rising up and spreading out. Walk into the Mosquita and you see a forest full of columns arching up the roofs. There is lots to see here and you should allow about two hours.
Magical building that spans the ages.

This place is definitely awesome and authentic. It was my second visit with parents, and it was not busy although seemingly a lot of people by the yard and the entry process was uncomplicated with digital ticket QR code.
But is it worth the €13 price tag? As a visitor who visited around 40 minutes admiring the architecture and intricate arts with some photos, but will forget the history anyway, I think €13 is not worth it in my opinion.
Some visitors who would get value from history and spending time studying the arts & architecture. But not for a regular visitor like me.

The Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba left an indelible mark on my heart. This enchanting monument is a true testament to the seamless integration of Islamic and European Catholic architecture, creating an atmosphere that is both spiritually captivating and historically rich.
The craftsmanship within the cathedral is nothing short of extraordinary. Every corner holds a treasure trove of precious items and icons, each telling a story of dedication and artistic brilliance. The meticulous handcrafting evident throughout the cathedral adds an authentic touch, making the experience all the more immersive.
The central church, with its awe-inspiring presence, stands as a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultural influences. Walking through the intricate archways and marveling at the intricate details, I found myself in constant amazement.
In all my travels, I've never been as profoundly impressed by a monument as I have by the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. My tour guide was solely responsible for my awesome and educational experience. I did not go up the tower as I didn't have time to wait for entry but I'll definitely return one day so I can check out the view from up above. I recommend arriving early though it doesn't take too long to tour the entire mosque cathedral. The surrounding area is very interesting and worth exploring as well. The surrounding cities remind me of parts in the Assassin's Creed game series.

The Catedral de Jaén is a grand baroque-Renaissance cathedral that houses the renowned Santo Rostro relic and a museum of religious art. It was constructed between 1540 and 1724, replacing a deteriorating Gothic cathedral which had been built on the site of an old mosque. The cathedral's design, crafted by Andres de Vandelvira and Pedro, his father, was deemed perfect and became a model for many major churches in Latin America.
Exquisite cathedral. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit.

If I'd been wandering solo this would have been a ten minute visit but our guide, Patricia, was fabulous so the visit was extended to an hour by learning about the bishop who remained unburied for 500 years, the choir seats and the council being snubbed, the balconies around the outside, the bombing of Jaen in the Spanish Civil War and the face of Christ relic.
It is an impressive and well maintained building but there is very little in the way of information unless you have an audio guide.

Architecturally and artistically this cathedral is of unusual purity, giving the place a very harmonious feel. The church visibly plays, unlike so many others, also an active role in the life of the community, so it feels alive and not just like a museum of a bygone area of Christian faith. Highly recommended.

A cathedral that portrays the wealth and in my eyes ego of the church.
Impressive, amazing architecture and art but for me not a house of worship.

Fantastic breathtaking cathedral! Also the VR headset available at the entrance was amazing giving birds eye views of the cathedral! An absolute must!
Also to see it at night recommend making the trip up to the Parador and walking along the path to the edge underneath the white cross...

This is a must see whilst in Jaen- it’s such a stunning cathedral.
This cathedral is in my top three cathedrals of the world which I would have not have expected given the size of Jaen. It’s not only stunning but different from my cathedrals of its era. The architecture of the roof is unusual and stunning in my opinion.
You can visit three levels. In the basement it’s like a museum and the upstairs galleries have lovely views looking down on the inside of the church.
The audio guide was a bit over-detailed for me so I gave up on it and just read the signs which were in Spanish and English.
Visited on a hot Saturday in July and it was virtually empty.
Outside the cathedral is a lovely square with seats to sit in the shade and admire the front of the building.

What to say about the beauty of this Cathedral.
Such a great architecture and very unique style and design.
For me it can be ranked in the top of Europe.
Its so great!!!

We have spent a month touring Spain and done our fair share of Spanish cathedrals. We were a bit reluctant to visit this Cathedral just because we really have overdone cathedrals in the past month. Cathedral overload has been succeeded. However every Spanish cathedral is special and different in its own way and Jaén is no different.
Jaén has some amazing art. The cathedral itself is stunning. Very tall and light.
We were lucky in that the organist was practising when we were there. The organ here is amazing - and I have heard a few. It was such a privilege and very inspiring just to sit and listen to this incredible musician in such an amazing building.
The audio guide is a bit dry - as must cathedral audio guides are.
So even if you are approaching cathedral overload - go and visit Jaén cathedral

Pleasantly surprised by the cathedral. Was expecting yet another baroque overwrought building and instead found a very elegant neoclassical arrangement (very renaissance themed). Same couldn't be said about the altars though, where the overbearing Spanish baroque reigns. The audio guide is quite useful (you have to pay to visit the cathedral) and everything feels a tad too Catholic (if you're not one).
The Sinagoga del Agua, a 14th-century Jewish synagogue, has been unearthed in a real estate project. The property developer intended to build apartments but instead discovered the archaeological remains of the synagogue and rabbis house. Original masonry was used whenever possible for the sensitive re-creation of this fascinating historical site, which features a women's gallery, bodega with giant storage vessels and miqve (ritual bath).
Fascinating to learn about the history of this place! A true gem.

This is a fascinating place to visit. Previously hidden synagogue and small houses discovered during building works and restored as well as they could. The guides are very friendly and informative. We have been twice and the option of an English explanation has never been mentioned but obviously that doesn't mean they don't do it! We are fine with Spanish but it may not suit some foreign visitors. Well worth visiting.

Interesting guided visit for €5 of a fairly recently rediscovered medieval synagogue, or so it is believed. Developers of three adjacent buildings in 2006 found a basement with huge earthenware vases half sunk into the ground, all covered in sand and debris. Further excavations revealed a number of wells in adjacent cellars that were full of rubble, and a perfectly preserved large rectangular ceremonial bath down seven steps, all carved out of solid rock inside what must have been a prehistoric cave created by underground streams. Also a number of arches, columns and architectural features including a double prayer gallery as used by women in synagogues, above a central space that would have been used by men. Archaeologists concluded that during medieval and renaissance times this building had indeed been used as a clandestine synagogue during periods when the Jewish faith was persecuted in Spain.

Stupid that it costs you more to order the tickets online than at the door. And no effort is done by the cassièrre / guide to speak anything else than Spanish. The French and English texts don't explain a lot, are quiet rubbish. The whole visit is done very speedy, you are not allowed to take your time to admire anything. Definitely, in those circumstances, not worth the money.

Most disappointed. We paid our entry fee. No audio guide. There was a spanish tour starting. We were obliged to join it. We were then told we could not proceed ahead of the tour, which was in spanish only, and taking 15-20 minutes per room. We left. We asked for our entry fee back. After consultation with the tour guide, this request was granted!!!! So we wasted 45 minutes and saw the 1st room only.
What a ridiculous bunch of clowns!

Small national park & migratory bird site, explored by off-road vehicle, Segway or on foot.
Peace, tranquility and surrounded by nature. That is how everyone should spend at least one day every few months! Las Tablas is free, a lovely walk while admiring, small birds, geese, ducks, etc. The trees are amazing! There is a boardwalk to get you over the wetlands safely and to get you as close as you can to admire the scenery. There is a big parking area, restrooms, visitors center, observation area, and plenty of benches along the walk to take a rest if you need too. A wheelchair can make it through with some help (through some dirt areas). This is a very nice National Park which has been under the government's protection for over 50 years. I totally recommend a visit.

It so desperately needs more water to reestablish its glory. What little remains still holds a great compliment of birds, however the majority of the reed beds are now dry.
The reserve is expertly maintained by a dedicated staff. But will it ever return to its former glory? Not with fields of new vines and olives planted sucking water from the water table. Nation help is needed to retain this Spanish treasure!

We visited on a sunny and warm Sunday afternoon at 6pm. There were still 100's of families, couples and guided parties walking round the various routes. We were lucky though to have a guide who was able to explain quite alot in English. The levels of water have fallen due to the dry weather and this has pushed the wildlife further away from the walkways and viewing areas. I suggest you either take a pair of binoculars with you or go on a guided walk that provides them. I think the best time to visit if you want to see as much wildlife and in particular the birdlife is in the mornings and from Monday to Friday as the numbers of people visiting are significantly lower than at the weekends. There are toilets situated at the start of your journey so I would say if you need to go do it before you set off walking. There is also a small shop selling souvenirs as well as snacks, water and ice cream etc. Try to visit in April and May or even earlier as the water levels drop as the summer months approach. On the plus side if you have travelled in a campervan or you are towing a caravan, you can stay overnight in one of the grassed car parks. Remember to bring your own food as Daimiel is about 14km away.👍👍👍👍

Friendly, helpful lady in visitor centre, who explained the current water shortages and how water is provided to maintain some good habitat for water birds.
On the day, protesters had closed the main road to Daimiel, so I detoured by Villarubio de los Ojos.
I expected Google maps would take me on the minor road to Daimiel town but Google maps was rubbish, taking me along rough farm tracks, told me to turn left onto a field - no tracks within 200m. It insisted on directing me to a hide that is only accessible on foot from the visitor centre, but refused to direct me to the visitor centre.

Absolutely incredible. A gorgeous trail, easy paths, dog friendly, stunning nature, must do! You can choose a short or long walk, and it is relatively easy if you take your time. To get to the picturesque river, it will take roughly 1 hour. I suggest going earlier in the morning, as the trail was rather packed by around 11am and then it'll be scorching hot by the time you finish. Make sure you pack water, good walking shoes, sunblock, a hat and a snack if necessary.

Molinos de Viento de Consuegra is a collection of twelve charming whitewashed windmills dating back to the 19th century, originally used for grinding flour. Situated in La Mancha (Ruta de Don Quijote), this site offers incredible views and a picturesque setting that evokes the spirit of Don Quixote. Visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty and capture stunning photographs without the crowds, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful excursion.
Visiting the windmills in Consuegra transport yourself for a moment to Don Quixote. A place full of history and magic. You can enjoy a unique view where the photos do not need any filter to be spectacular. This is one of the emblematic points that are part of the Don Quixote route. 100% recommended

Incredible views and scenery of the famous Don Quixote windmills. We arrived before the busses came with tourists and were able to have the place to ourselves. We hired a taxi from Toledo that the tourist information place recommended and it was a return taxi for 95€. Well worth it. The taxi driver was also kind enough to stop in the small community at the bottom for us to take a few pictures. No regrets at all on this excursion and loved that it didn’t include 60 other people on a tour bus.

We visited the “Molinos de Viento de Consuegra” during our trip in La Mancha (Ruta de Don Quijote) in April 2022. It was not crowded and beautiful weather, which I think are the two most important things when you want to visit this place! The view is amazing and the perfect scenery to take some nice picks! Hostal Rural Río Mundo is a guesthouse with simple accommodations. The rooms are basic and there is a courtyard terrace for guests to enjoy. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided, which is a nice amenity. The price of the stay is reasonable and the breakfast offered at this hotel is said to be the best in Spain by some visitors. However, it should be noted that the walls in this guesthouse are thin, allowing noise to travel easily.

Worth seeing and lots of views of the country and small town. Amazing to see such an old castle/fortress in such good condition, and be able to take photos and your time when exploring the inside and surrounding area.
There are 5 towers to climb up and overlook in all directions, and u will also see three old windmills that were talked about in Don Quioti's novel.

Calle Eugenia de Montijo, s/n, 16640 Belmonte, Cuenca, Spain
The Cuenca Cathedral is a beautiful, historic cathedral located in the city of Cuenca, Spain. The building was originally built in the Romanesque style and has been renovated several times since then. It is now famous for its large stained glass windows and ornate ceilings. Additionally, the cathedral hosts regular concerts and audio tours.
Cuenca Cathedral was a place of gentle silence and beautiful light coming throw it's large colored windows. By paying the entrance fee (1€) you can experience the peace of past centuries under the charming vaults.

The cathedral is beautiful but the girl at the entrance who charges the entrance fee (almost 5 euros per person) did not notify that the ticket includes a telephone guide with which you can learn about the works inside the cathedral, when we were more than half way through the tour when we saw that all the people had the telephone guide we asked and they told us that it was included in the ticket. We went to ask for it and commented that it should be given with the entrance ticket at the time of payment, quite politely and the girl was rude and said that we should have asked us which is absurd since we are tourists and we had no idea. The girl is short haired, brown hair.

The San Pablo Bridge, locally known as Saint Paulo bridge, offers stunning views of Cuenca's old town and the Huécar River gorge below. The steel pedestrian bridge is easy to find and stands high above the gorge, providing a great perspective of the city.

This bridge connects the historic part of Cuenca with the ancient monastery (Nowadays a Parador). Originally, it was made of stone but only parts of the pillars survived. The rest was replaced by metal.
From the bridge you have a stunning view and you can admire the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca.
Caution: the bridge moves a bit when many people walk on it. People with fear of this might use the street to the Parador instead of walking over the bridge.
Omg!!! This place is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It might be because I love caves and cave houses...From the village are plenty of signs to the Devil's cave. You can't miss it! One of the attractions of Alcala de Jucar. We loved it! Stroll down the corridors and rooms carved into a limestone .You get feel of the traditional cave house. We stumbled across the impressively named ‘Caves of the Devil’ almost by accident but once in Alcalá Del Júcar you can’t miss the signs everywhere pointing you to them. We went in with no prior knowledge so they were an absolute treat. This is no small home dug into rock - this eccentric marvel is part museum, part events venue, part bar (with great views out of the other side of the hill), part indulgent tribute to owner Juan José Martínez García, who I must confess seems to be famous though I still don’t know why. You simply must visit the caves, the entrance ticket gives you a free drink to boot.

What a great place to explore! Not my first visit but was for my girlfriend. Great collection of typical Spanish antiques, covering everything from cabinets full of matches, medical equipment, typewriters, farm tools and machinery (to name a few artifacts), my favorite being a mini tractor type ploughing machine with what looks like grannies armchair sat on top for the operator 😂😂. Great value at €3 per person which includes a drink at the far side of the caves, really nice little bar overlooking the river at the mountains that surround Alcalá de Júcar. You can explore further the caves by walking up a 7 stories stairway, so take a deep breath before you do! The cave walkways are fascinating and you discover little nooks along the way. Another benefit is how cool temperature wise in there, especially when it was 40+ outside, so a welcome relief. The owner who is a spitting image of Salvador Dali complete with pointy mustache, there are plenty of photos of him with famous people along the caves, and we managed to grab one with him when we left. church is worth nothing (it is tasteless and it lacks patina of time), the mausoleum is below average and the mummies can barely be seen. skip it, go to the regional museum which is free of charge and has a beautiful roman mosaic on the top floor and go back home with great memories of Teruel, which is a very nice little town with plenty to enjoy (the Modernismo buildings are just as interesting as the Mudejar towers).

Very good
History or legend or both of Isabel and Diego very similar to Romeo and Juliete. Pictures and couple statues and tombs.
José Francisco Pereira da Silva de Pádua — Google review
Massively overpriced the entrance fee at 10 euros for the complete visit has been pushed to the limit of what they can get away with, would have been expensive at 5. Very small site which has been over restored. Some multi media exhibits and tenous links to other art forms as an attempt to make up for the fact that there is very little to see. Shameless tourist trap, go to the Teruel Museum instead lots of interesting exhibits and entrance is free.

Incredible place. Take a tour with the guide to see the hidden places.
Yet, the tour is in Spanish only
Svitlana Blyzniuk — Google review
Highly recommended to visit with the guide. The lady who guided us knew a lot about the history and the stories about the two lovers and the buildings. It’s totally worthy to buy the full tour ticket to visit to the upper part of the church.

Highly recommend the guided visit - it includes history of the lovers, church of San Pedro, closter yard, The Tower of San Pedro and a walk on the ándito.

Mausoleum is the main museum in the city of love(Teruel). You can visit the place it’s consist of a church, garden and the famous love story of Diego and Isabel. There mummy is still stored at this place and you can see them. The San Pedro church which is part of this place is beautiful and amazing to visit. You can also visit the church tower with guided tour.
Dinópolis is a prehistoric-themed park situated in Teruel, Spain. It is one of the world's largest museums of paleontology and offers a variety of family-friendly activities, including rides, a 4D simulator, and dinosaur models & skeletons. The museum is well-organized and has something for all ages. However, it would benefit from an app to book shows in advance and reduce queueing times during the COVID pandemic. Visitors should remember to bring hats during summer visits.
Good way to spend a Family day. But remeber to take a hat in the summer !
The t-rex animated was awsome.
Friendly & caring crew, clean installations.
Fun-educational!

Good place to know more about our ancient planet neighbours, the dinosaurs. The best, the museum, with a lot of examples of ancient criatures, and big bones gigantic dinosaurs.
Carlos Niharra L?pez — Google review
What a complete rip-off. €28 per adult and €22 per CHILD! For nothing more than a few fibreglass statues of dinosaurs, a really badly acted T-Rex drama and run-around treehouse that's limited to kids aged +9.
And don't go there hungry. The food is absolutely terrible. The salmon (fish of the day) was frozen and had the texture of my granny's old boots, the carrots we're tinned and boiled until every last vitamin had disappeared and the potatoes would have found better used in a jar of baby food. They we're mush. The only thing worth eating was the roasted chicken.
You'd get better value for money and more educationally by renting Jurassic Park on Netflix and ordering in a pizza!

We visited Dinopolis 7-8 years ago with our kids. It was like attractions from 90th years of 20th century. A bit outdated. My kids liked it, but I personally found it too boring.
This time we visited it once again and additionally to previously visited parts of the park ee found some new areas and attractions, new restaurant, so we really liked it and enjoyed the time with our family. Worthy to visit with your children.

The Valencia Bioparc is a modern naturalistic zoo in Spain that boasts an array of African animals such as lions, gorillas, and giraffes. The park's focus on education and conservation sets it apart. The innovative landscaping creates the illusion of free-roaming animals without visible fences segregating their habitats. Madagascar is particularly magical with lemurs cavorting around waterfalls among lush vegetation.
Very nice experience! Animals looking good and healthy. The installation are very clean and well kept. A lot of freedom for the animals. We liked the fact that different species are together kept as in their natural environment (co-living). Happy to visit again. Entrance price is in good relation. You can see that they take really good care of the animals ans the park. Enhorabuena, Team Bioparc!
Eivissa Love — Google review
We liked the park because of the beautiful surroundings and everything is nicely put together. They have a lot of beautiful animals which you can see from quite small distance. We didn't like the price regarding the size of the park. It's actually quite small, was expecting a larger park... you can't bring some sort of food with you, which they don't have written on their site so don't bring many snacks with you, fruits are allowed. In general it's a lovely zoo but there are a lot more beautiful and larger round the Europe...

Bioparc Valencia is a fantastic zoo that is sure to please visitors of all ages. The zoo is well-maintained and organized, with informative signage and exhibits that teach visitors about the animals. The animals are well-cared for and seem to be happy in their enclosures. The setting of the zoo is also beautiful, with lush vegetation and ponds. I would highly recommend Bioparc Valencia to anyone visiting Valencia.
Pros:
- Well-maintained and organized zoo
- Large collection of African fauna
- Informative signage and exhibits
- Educational and entertaining for all ages
- Beautiful setting
Cons:
- Can be crowded during peak season
- Some exhibits could be larger
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Bioparc Valencia and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia!

Very nice place to spend a day, very clean and well maintained. The animals are well-cared and have spacious enclosures, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day.
Even in hot summer day, there was so much shade it was actually comfortable.
Food is expensive and not very good quality, but you do not visit Bioparc for the restaurant.

Bioparc was beautiful and very well designed. We enjoyed seeing the animals from different viewpoints. Eating lunch outside where we could see giraffes, lions and other animals was a great experience. Your food choices were amazing. It wasn’t “junk” food. We enjoyed Bioparc more than we have enjoyed zoos in the United States. The admission prices are fair and well worth the visit. Thank you.

I honestly loved this place. The enclosures are fantastic as different species live amongst each other. The animals looked relaxed and happy too which I find the most important factor. Plenty of drink vending machines and toilets dotted around the place.
Maria Nagli? — Google review
One of the nicest zoos I've visited. The enclosures are built in such a way as to feel as natural as possible to both visitors and the animals of the park. You will hardly see any fences or cages, it all feels a lot more natural. The theme is Africa and there are only African animals in the park. The highlight has to be the fact that you can enter the lemur enclosure and have them running around you and up in the trees above you.
Emil Oprisa — Google review
Beautiful place, the Bioparc Valencia it is known for its unique design that aims to recreate and preserve natural habitats for animals. .
The zoo focuses on African wildlife and providing its animals with spacious enclosures that resemble their natural habitats as closely as possible. This allows visitors to observe the animals in environments that are more similar to the wild, promoting both their well-being and education about their natural behavior.
If you have an interest in wildlife and conservation, it is definitely worth a visit. Kids will love the place.
giuseppe gramaglia — Google review
Lovely experience. From start to finish there were really entertaining ways to look and be very close to the animals . You also can have lunch and good ice cream there.
Make sure to reserve about 3-4 hours to see everything calmly and enjoy it.
Nicolás Maldonado — Google review
I've been to many zoos and this is among the best. Focused only on African species, they combine several different animals in the same exhibit. For example rhinos and zebras or giraffes and impala. there is a great flow to the design and you usually have different viewpoints of the animal areas. not a traditional cage anywhere. highly recommended.
Sean Essex — Google review
Stunning modern take on a Zoo experience with carefully designed natural enclosures that will make you think "how can just that keep the animals inside?!" and fully immerse you into an authentic Safari experience!
The highlight of my visit was seeing the rhinos and hippos playfully fight! What a show!

Had an amazing day at Bioparc, Valencia. It is so well designed and planned. It is really easy to see the animals and they are very relaxed and natural in this environment. There are plenty of signs giving lots of interesting facts too. Would definitely recommend to all ages and allow plenty of time for your visit.

Really enjoyed the visit. Plenty of biomes and animals to see. Lemurs up close were great. Restaurant food was brilliant and had no issues there whatsoever. Could do with more shading and possibly a mist feature to keep guests cooled during peak season, at some parts, the heat was unbearable.

I really enjoyed my visit to Bioparc Valencia. It is a nice zoo, smaller than I expected but that makes it easier to look around. My trip took ~2h for everything. It seems like they pay a lot of attention about every detail, especially animal welfare and their comfort.

Awesome park. Very pleasant place to spend time, especially with children. Very comfort spaces for animals, big, spacious, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day, there is almost none quilty feeling on visiting zoo. I liked how clean the place is, wood, stone and glass everywhere for the terrain relief. There are nice places to eat, rest, buy a drink on premises.
Iuliia Zherdieva — Google review
A really great animal park - clean and animal friendly. The enclosures blend in with nature, there are no cages.
Visitors really enjoy this place! Suitable for visiting with small children.
Animals can be viewed from many angles. Their activities can also be observed in their private places - caves.
Many food places that allow you to enjoy this pleasant park longer.
What is very important for families with children - there are toilets everywhere.
Some birds are "free range" (see picture!)

I think this was the nicest bioparc I ever went to. I really love the idea of creating micro-ecosystems and putting together species which are compatible. Also a great thing is they do not have cages! Animals are separated using streams of water and rock walls. I really recomand visiting this place!

Bioparc in Valencia is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, you're surrounded by lush greenery and an immersive experience that transports you to different habitats. What sets Bioparc apart is its commitment to conservation and creating a naturalistic environment for its inhabitants. It's not just a zoo; it's a sanctuary for wildlife.
The kid-friendly atmosphere here is remarkable. My children were captivated by the diverse array of animals and enjoyed every moment exploring the park. The interactive exhibits and educational programs kept them engaged and entertained throughout our visit.
Overall, Bioparc offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and environmental consciousness. A must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike!

Amazing place with various animals (yes it is not a typical zoo) - the animations are very educational (some of them are only in Spanish) and the visiting path is well designed, no need to look at the map all the time as there is only one main path. The animals are in quite good condition. The dauphin animation starts with a quiz (6 questions) to select a winner to have the opportunity to be interact with the dauphin which is a great idea! However the animation itself is a little bit “messy” as all dauphins are doing different activities on the same time.. the buffer restaurant has a great view on the giraffes and lions.
Highly recommend to buy the tickets online in advance which saves time and money (slightly cheaper than buying on site)

Spent a bit more than 2 hours there. Amazing place to spend time and see beautiful animals. We went at 10AM right when it opens and had bought tickets in advance so we got in super fast and had no queue in front.

Nice park! Our 2nd time here! Great place to visit with the kids!
Nice show of birds at 4.30 pm.
The conditions for animals seem better and closer to natural than in the usual zoos.
Make sure to put one layer of clothes more! It always feels colder than in the city.
However, we hoped to see more species of animals such as snakes and others!

Easily the best zoo I have ever been to! Absolutely stunning landscaping and happy, healthy animals with large enclosures mimicking nature. So many interesting species to see and you get to see them so close I have never experienced anything like this! 100% worth a visit!

Truly amazing place. It's designed in a way that allowes you easily navigate to see everything without getting lost or using the map, although the map is available.
You can spend there 2h but I'd recommend spending at least 5-6h. Personally I saw the whole park and after that I attended every event possible.
Activities like live exhibition or meeting with keepers are enjoyable even if you don't speak Spanish.
You can get a ticket online, including the meal which is a bit cheaper than buying it on site. Nevertheless it's not expensive either way.
Bioparc is located 10-15 minutes on foot from metro.
I should add that the whole place is so adorable, I'd go there even without any animals inside.

The Central Market of Valencia, Spain is a massive and beautiful market filled with fresh produce, spices, and specialty ingredients from all over the country. It's one of the largest markets in Europe and is also home to a Michelin starred chef who prepares bites at Central Bar. There are many stalls selling unique items from all over Spain, making it the perfect place to buy souvenirs or find regional dishes to cook at home.
Very lively place with tons of great spots for food, souvenirs and several other items. I particularly enjoyed the variety of typical foods, Spanish hams, cheeses and the ambience of the market. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops so it makes for a very nice area of the city.
Adriana Perez — Google review
A unique market experience and must-see for tourists! While you might not be able to purchase many of the items, there are still fresh juices, drinks, snacks, and other take-home items. The freshness of every market item is unlike anything I’ve seen in the states!
Colleen Martin — Google review
The market is a dream come true for any foodie. We visited twice while in Valencia and got to try a lot of stuff. The produce is all fresh and the prices are absolutely fine. There are also bathrooms right by one of the main entrances.
I'd appreciate at least a small corner to eat the food you purchase there. There's plenty of outside seating by one of the side entrances, but no shadow.

This market is incredible! It's probably the best indoor market I've ever visited.
I'm almost lost for words.
The building itself is beautiful, but it's the amazing amount of authentic working stalls inside that has to be seen to be believed.
The choice of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheeses, meats, sweets, the list goes on, will take your breath away.
The fact that this market serves the local community rather than pandering to the hoards of tourists adds greatly to its charm.
Not to be missed.
Michael Lees — Google review
The Central Market is one of the iconic places in Valencia. The architecture of the building itself, specially built for market trade, is noteworthy. But the most interesting thing is inside. There are fruit and vegetable rows and butcher shops with such a variety of jamon! Fish ruins are easy to find by their specific smell. But this is not the smell of a week’s catch, but a mixture of aromas of the freshest fish, octopus, cuttlefish and many more unknown sea creatures. Here you can wander around just like that, watching with interest the interactions between sellers and buyers, plunging into truly Spanish everyday life.

Fantastic place. First of all, the building is phenomenal, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The market has something for everyone, lots of seafood, different fruits and vegetables. Of course, there is also the famous prosciutto, which you must try. You haven't had breakfast, everything is waiting for you here 🙂🙂🙂

Wow, what an unbelievable site. There are so many vendors, fresh foods and delicious treats all over this place. There are a few things to know before coming here.. Some of the vendors only accept cash, they do not allow you to TOUCH the fruit unless you are purchasing it, it says it closes at 3:00 but everything shuts down at 2:00pm. On the back there is a nice bar with a long wait to sit at where you can grab coffee or a drink. It is crowded with locals and travelers. Go early on if you want a more upbeat relaxed experience because if you go towards closing there is a rushed feel. Next to the bar is a key copying place & a place to fix leather. This market is worth checking out!
Gina Britt — Google review
A must visit for tourists and locals. One of the oldest markets in Europe that has been renovated and it shows; the architecture is beautiful and looks really clean for a market - so be sure to look up at the building as it can be missed with the other eye catching produce on offer.
There can be an overwhelming amount of stalls to choose from and the market is huge, so give yourself ample amount of time to explore. There are plenty of cultural foods and drinks all at very good prices - there is bound to be something you will like.
Minor issue is there is not much place to sit in so be prepared to either eat outside or standing up. Also there is a small fee for the toilet use.
Sam S — Google review
Notice the parrot symbol all over the place, including the old parrot structure on top of the dome of the entire building. This bird is emblematic of the market being the place for news of town gossip! This symbol has existed since the central market has existed!
Numerous fruit stands, delis, butchers, artisan products and etcetera. Also has a few restaurants to eat in while you are shopping. You will see that even locals shop for their greens and fruits here.
I would recommend getting a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or a quick cafe cortado before walking around this massive commercial areas, which used to be the center of town.
If wanting solid photos with less people in the vicinity, I would recommend coming right before siesta hours so that the place is semi-empty!

The Central Market of Valencia is one of the oldest markets still in use in Europe and has been declared a ''Heritage of Cultural Interest'' site by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. After about ten years of work it was inaugurated in the course of 1928 and decades later, in 2010, it was completely renovated. It's a popular spot among tourists as well as locals, as it’s the perfect location to immerse yourself in the heart of local culture and to get lost in its numerous aisles filled with local products.

Central Market Valencia is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves fresh, local food and an authentic shopping experience. The market is a bustling hub of activity where vendors offer an incredible variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, spices, and baked goods. The quality of the products is outstanding and the vendors are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer tips and advice on preparing and cooking their products.
The market is also a feast for the eyes, with colourful displays of fresh produce and beautiful architecture that captures the essence of Valencia's history and culture. The market is conveniently located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot.

Beautiful old local market. Go early! Everything is closing down by 2pm (14:00).
Great option for small bites, local specialties and local meat and seafood. If you’re a fan, look for the local fish mongers with fresh oysters 🦪 and uni/urchin,…or look for a favorite cured meat, paella, or seasonal fruit, all of which you can enjoy on the spot.
For fresh food, be prepared with cash. Some vendors only accept cash, others only cash for small purchases, and most did not want to accept the Mercat certificados (cash coupons) that say you can spend them on market purchases. Most vendors told me they wouldn’t accept the certificates at all, or they were only for parking but not purchases.

The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an extremely impressive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park with a huge aquarium & IMAX screen. The architect Santiago Calatrava is largely responsible for the stunning architecture, which has been met with mixed reactions from Valencians. It's well worth visiting for the beauty and scale of the buildings, as well as the variety of exhibits on offer.
Amazing place. One of my favorite spots and definitely a must visit if you are in Valencia. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and the architecture is just amazing. It includes different buildings, each one really beautiful and overall is a great place for pictures and for taking a walk.
I bought a ticket that included visits to the science museum, a movie and the aquarium. I do not think the entrance to all of these it's worth it, but you can try, specially if you come with children.

I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises.
To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures.
We love the water entertainment too.
Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳

Much fun for kids and grown ups. The science museum is one of the most interactive ones I've been to.
The aquarium was well maintained, even though a bit expensive.

I absolutely adored this place!
The architecture itself is very detailed and beautiful along with being modern. So many museum and shows you can see, you must book in advance. The perfect place for anyone and kids will be very entertained. I only had time for their Oceanogràfic which takes about 3 hours to get through but was worth it. Lots to see and we even got fortunate enough to see a dolphin show which was captivating and cute to see. Would love to come back and see more, i recommend good walking shoes being that getting all the way across is a stretch in itself. But also a magnificent spot for photo ops!

Special place, different and a must visit if you are in Valencia. Well served by means of transport and 10 minutes from the center. Futuristic structure, you can visit the botanical garden. the science museum, the innovation pavilion and what is on offer in the period you are in. Unfortunately, we came across a short period of exhibition and we still appreciated the architecture, the beautiful swimming pool with the equipment that you can rent. A moment of relaxation. You can also rent bicycles to go to the park next door or visit the exhibition space which is very large.

Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view.
I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.

If you like Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is amazing and provides countless photo opportunities. The only downside was that when I visited (mid June 2023) there was a stage built by the science building that obscured many views and I understood it was there all summer as they had a number of concerts planned in the space. Also, at night it appeared that a lot of the lights went off at 10pm, and only the opera building seemed to leave the lights on later.
Michael Sutherland — Google review
The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site.
You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive.
Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times.
If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while.
Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

These amazing futuristic buildings in Valencia are a must see. We visited on a cruise and the shuttle bus dropped up in the town centre where there are plenty of historic buildings to view. But I wanted to see the HEMISFERIC structure and other "star trek style futuristic buildings" and WOW WOW WOW. Thanks to Google maps and a cheap local bus ride to get us there.

The City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia is an absolute must-visit destination. This sprawling complex is more than just a cultural hub; it's a fusion of art, science, and nature, beautifully encapsulated in striking modern architecture. Each building within the complex is a masterpiece, drawing your attention with its innovative design and aesthetic appeal.
The site encompasses a museum, an aquarium, and a cultural center, each offering a unique experience. The museum is a treasure trove of knowledge, ideal for those keen on science and technology. Meanwhile, the aquarium is a journey through marine life, making it perfect for families and nature enthusiasts. The cultural center, with its variety of events and exhibitions, caters to a broad range of interests.
But it's not just about what's inside these buildings. The surrounding area, with its lush greenery and water features, creates a serene environment that's perfect for leisurely walks or sitting back to soak in the scenery. It's also a fantastic place for bike riding, with paths winding through the stunning modern landscape.
In conclusion, the City of Arts and Sciences is not just a highlight of Valencia but a symbol of modern creativity and innovation. It's a place where you can spend hours exploring, learning, and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Whether you're visiting the museum, the aquarium, or just wandering around the complex, it's an experience that's both enriching and visually spectacular.

The low rating is specifically for the science museum. I paid €9 and it was a total waste of money. The building itself is incredible, but you can see it for free from the outside. The exhibits inside are 90% Spanish with no translations. Everything felt disorganized which was a shame given how much space they had to work with. This could’ve been an amazing place to visit, but save your money and just walk through the lobby and visit the outside areas.

Even though i did not enter any of the facilities where a ticket was required and only went there for sightseeing, I reccomend visiting this place for sure. The architechure is spectacular during daytime and even more spectacular at night. The vibe is also nice. There is also the park a level above the buidings which shines the most during the day. So you have to visit it twice, on daytime or when is dark. Or get there around sunset to get the best of both worlds.

Great architecture and it is probably the best sight to visit in Valencia. It's free to walk around the outside too, where you can take photos. We were staying in the city centre and walked down Turia park to get there which itself is worth visiting. The previous route of the river is now a park.
We were there near Christmas and there was a Christmas market with mulled wine etc which was nice in the evening. We visited Oceanographic and the science museum. Both worth seeing but a lot to fit into one day.

This is a major complex in Valencia. There are multiple museums and sites to see. There is a lot of walking. It is a nice layout with pools and greenery and statues right near the end of the river park. We spent an entire afternoon in the oceanografic, going from building to building and site to site, which is well mapped. You can also get an audio guide in multiple languages for €4 per person. They offer discounts for seniors, kids, students disabled and unemployed. There are multiple restaurant options throughout the complex and within each individual museum area. The costs for a standard note at the april month was €37 and student was €31. We went through the aquariums and saw different fish, Coral, octopus. Sea lions sharks Baluga, whales, dolphins, penguins turtles and tortoises. There is s dolphin show 4-5 times each day. The Oceanografic is both inside and outside so sunglasses or an umbrella may be necessary at times. Overall. I loved it and do did my college aged student.

Wow wow wow! Spectacular experience. This is a wonderful place to wander among museum pieces, beautiful plant life, and gorgeous views. I wish we would have planned more time. Highly recommend.

This gorgeous museum is like traveling to the future. Actually, I believe parts of Star Wars was filmed here too! It’s very kid friendly catering to all intrigued minds with plenty of restrooms, rest points, food options and handicap access. Elevators, open spaces for those with limited mobility. Go early and make a full day of it. There’s parking but easiest by bus or taxi. The bus will leave right in front of the entrance. We took a 3 and 8 year old who had a blast all day here! A MUST see in Valencia. They change the exhibits all the time too, so there’s always a reason to go back!!

The Oceanographic aquarium in Valencia is the largest of its kind in Europe and contains nearly 500 different species of marine life. The building owes its impressive concrete roofing to the architect Felix Candela, who designed it as a magical space of water and wildlife. Visitors are able to explore different sections of the aquarium over the course of four hours, and it is definitely worth reserving time in your itinerary in Valencia to visit!
This is one of the best attractions in Valencia. Some people in their reviews say you will be done in an hour and a half but we spend over 2 hours and we enjoyed every minute. We spend so much time watching each of the animals, they were all so amazing to see. The dolphin show is around 10 am or 11 so get there early as the seats fill up fast. Some of the best parts were the sea lions, the flamingos, and the most unique part was the tunnel where you walk underneath stingrays, manta rays, sharks, jellyfish. You can see their features up close it's amazing.

Amazing. A must see even if you don't have children. We had an absolute ball here. The day was a long one so be prepared to eat on site to make sure you get to see every attraction. Very worth the price and long day. The children and the grandparents loved it.

We have purchased tickets in advance, but can be purchased at spot. Plenty of parking, daily rate was 7 euro, with additional ticket taken in shops. A lot of connecting buildings, map can be taken at info point. Kids loved it, plenty to see and experience. We stayed about 6 hours and were able to see everything (about 8k steps :))

I visited L'Oceanogràfic on a rainy day in Valencia, and it turned out to be the perfect indoor activity. The aquarium is massive and incredibly well-maintained. The sea life creatures appear happy and healthy, making it a truly enjoyable experience. It was a fantastic decision for a rainy day outing.
The location is awesome, the parking is quite convenient.
I’d recommend to book the tickets in advance. This place can get quite busy on weekends and holidays.

I think it is a bit expensive for what you can see in the aquarium. Some animals, like the penguins were kept in a very small space and the dolphin show was a bit uncomfortable to watch, there are like 18 of them in a pool that is not big enough for them to swim and more so being so many of them being kept there...
I liked the layout, that you can be outside from one part of the Aquarium to another, but for that money I was expecting the animals to be in bigger and better places, sort of like the aquarium in Lisbon.
Also most of the vending machines were broken and it was very difficult to get a drink.
But overall it was good, especially the tunnel where you could enjoy seeing a great variety of sea life swimming around!
Memi GM — Google review
So much more than an aquarium. We spent hours there and didn't get to see it all. The kids had a great time hoping from one creature exhibit to the next. The animals all seem to be top priority and well cared for. So many different animals to see and very up close.
Tye dolphin show was a clear favourite. Lots of fun and amazing tricks. Make sure you arrive early because there is limited seating.

The place in total was really cool, and we had great experiences there. They had everything from tropical fish, to birds to penguins! They also had a dolphin show, which happens every few hours, and that was white cool also, and they also translated everything. Which was good. It does take a long time to visit everything, and I would say you need at least 5 hours to visit everything. The tickets were quite expensive, as for everything, we ended up paying 170€ for 4 adults and 1 child. The food there was also very good, however it was slightly expensive too. Overall, the place was really cool, and I would recommend. But beware, we went here even when it wasn't the crowded season, and it was still pretty full, so you might want to buy tickets earlier, depending on what time of year you want to go.

A magnificent aquarium. You can spend almost a full day in it. An aquarium that hosts animals that you may not see in your life. It is very pleasant to walk in. Every detail is very well thought out. You can also coincide with events inside. There was an event with dolphins. Although I was against the use of animals in these events for commercial reasons, it was a good event. I felt sorry for the small area reserved for penguins. I am saddened by the confinement of living things that were brought from their natural habitats to small spaces.

Boss day out. Kids love it here. Lots to do and seem food is good but expensive. Toilets everywhere which is always a plus with 4 little kids. Not like your usual aquarium can spend a good part of the day here and not go bored. Dolphin show is good. So are the shark area. Lots of good stuff and good staff. 4D show is also good abs with the extra for the shark one.
William Burnett — Google review
Huge place that will require several hours for the best visit. Make sure to keep your kids well fed and happy to ensure that everyone will have a good time in yours and the others' groups.
The exhibition will be crowded at times so have patience.
The dolphin show is a must see. I watched it twice because, to be honest, it was a bit hard to follow. Young children around me thought the dolphin show was too much talk and too little action. When something cool actually happened they missed it because they didn't know where to look.I also weren't prepared when and where they would perform a trick.
Penguins would have been so fun to see but the window on that exhibition was a bit dirty and had water droplets all over it making it a bit hard to see clearly. This diminished the possibilities of an amazing, once in a lifetime, experience.
All in all, at first I thought it felt expensive but was actually very good value for money. If you visit Valencia and have the time and the money, go there.

Had a very nice experience with my family here. It was the main thing we enjoyed in Valencia. For anyone that is a lover of animals and oceanic life than I would recommend spending a couple hours here. We also got to witness the dolphin show where they taught us about the latest technology used in research and I found that really interesting.
NOTE: We bought our tickets at the front office like a lot of other people. Definitely don’t need to book in advance unless you want to skip the line.

Amazing place. A must if you can - especially good for children. Sooo much to see. Be prepared for lots of walking both inside and out - place is enormous but very well designed and organised. Huge selection of rays and sharks. Beluga whales were the highlight for us and we feel privileged to have seen them.
Highly recommended buying tickets online beforehand

Recommending buying tickets in advance so you can skip the line. Need to know exact day and time of the visit to do so. There are some discounts if you buy combo tickets with other landmarks in the city. You can google it to see which ones. Also you need at least 4 hours to see all parts of the place, its really big. Dolphins show is worth it.

Such a great aquarium. I’ve visited many aquariums and this one is definitely top 5. So many different animals to see. I liked how they separated most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). They had very informative signs. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn’t feel overly crowded. We had a great time.

Amazing marine life centre, a must see. Amazing design and layout and plenty to see. Informative and instructional for adults and children. Good restaurant with table service and a reasonably priced food selection of food from the menu. The portions were very large as well. Highly recommended.

I did not know what to expect, but this place is really special. The buildings and facilities are amazing. You really need to 3 to 4 hours to see all well. The Delphine show is good (included as part of ticket price), but not super amazing, however it’s great for kids to learn. The shark tunnel is fantastic!
Roberto Carton — Google review
A diverse range of aquatic life on exhibit. Displays with an environmental theme are located throughout and feature powerful statements about pollution & plastics. Food services were not plentiful on site, but there are many nearby. Entrance price was a bit steep, but comparable to similar attractions in major cities.
Barbara Williams — Google review
This is definitely 100 times better than bioparc. It's got a huge space almost like the Disneyland of aquariums. It's easy to spend 4-6 hours here except the food options are terrible here so some people suggested bringing your own food. The dolphin show also is very boring, maybe it's very humane and kind to the dolphins but there was 70 percent lecture on saving the dolphins and 30 percent show. Kids couldn't even sit through it, the Spanish audience were the best though, they were singing and dancing thru the music which was much more interesting than the disorganized dolphins. To compare, even a tiny aquarium in Hokkaido Japan had a better dolphin show. However they do have some really cool tanks. I
There was one underwater tunnel they had Atlantic fish which was not so pretty bit there was another tunnel with sharks and tortoises. It's very cool. The bird case was a cool structure but looks better from the outside than from the inside. The octopus is totally cool to look at. The whole area is pretty big but it's not too hard to walk it all. Not really sure I saw it all but the kids were too tired to keep going after 5 hours. Highly recommend the sharks, penguins, belugas, flamingos and the octopus. Very very fun place. Worth the entrance.

This place is a true gem, and here's why:
The Oceanographic is incredibly well-maintained, showcasing an impeccable level of care for both the marine life and the visitors. The size of the facility is impressive, offering a vast and diverse array of exhibits to explore. It's like stepping into a world of aquatic diversity and beauty.
One of the standout features of the Oceanographic is its cleanliness. Everywhere I looked, the facility gleamed with cleanliness, making the visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for both the animals and guests.
The exhibit layout is both extensive and well-organized, with various buildings dedicated to different marine themes. Whether you're fascinated by sharks, mesmerized by dolphins, or curious about penguins, there's something here for everyone. The diverse range of exhibits ensures that you'll never run out of new and exciting things to see.
The quality of the exhibits and the welfare of the marine life were top-notch. It's clear that the Oceanographic is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. From playful dolphins to majestic jellyfish, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Hands down the best aquarium I have ever been too - A great variety of spaces and stunning marine life, all in pristine facilities. We went there thinking it would be a couple of hours, but easily spent 4 - 5 enjoyable hours. Dolphins were definitely a highlight 🐬
Would certainly recommend going if you get the chance. Plenty of choices for food if you get hungry too - Great place for a family trip out

Fantastic place! We spent over 7 hours here, strolling around the outdoor exhibits, watching the dolphin show, and going through the many underground exhibits showcasing a wide variety of fish including sharks, rays and eels, as well as turtles, seals, beluga whales, and penguins. And so many birds - flamingos, ducks, ibis, swans, and spoonbills. Take your time! It's well worth the price of admission.
This aquarium is well maintained and clean. Animals appear well taken care of. Staff are very friendly and most speak English.
We went in January, with no lineups, but still recommend buying tickets online ahead of time. Got to go straight in! Be aware you can bring in water bottles to drink, but no food allowed. This is to make sure you don't feed the animals. Reasonable request considering the circumstances!
This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Valencia. Highly recommend going for the day!

This aquarium is so pretty!
There are a lot to see : beluga, turtles, pingouins, birds, crocodiles and more.
You can easily spend half a day there and there are some restaurants/fast foods to treat yourself.
I visited Oceanographic as an adult but I was as excited as a child. Would 100% recommend it, especially if you have kids.

Awesome. We loved it. The spaces are out of this world. I love how it puts a lot of focus on the environment. We booked the backstage tour that takes you inside and explain how the water filtration works. Our guide Nuria was very knowledgeable and replied all our questions.
Also in case anyone needs it there are lockers, the size might fit a very small carry on, but otherwise I wouldn't take any luggage with you here.
We also tried the 4D movie theater, it was very good. An amazing experience, I believe it was only 3 euros. It's a must see in Valencia.

Wow what a big and beautiful aquarium.
I’ve visited some aquariums and I’ve never been to one where they pay so much attention to the animals and how big their living environments are.
This is how we’ve ended up spending almost 4,5 hours here, something we couldn’t imagine beforehand. There are a lot different animals to see. Very good of the park to separate most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). Must say that the signage in English is very good and placed at every item.

Coves de Sant Josep offers guided boat trips and hikes through a subterranean river that dates back to the Triassic era, making it the longest in Europe. Visitors can enjoy a 45-minute leisurely boat ride along the underground river, covering approximately 800 meters. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, guests will explore various rooms within the caves, including the Bat Room, Dianas Lake, Siphon Gallery, Dry Zone, and Cathedral.
Really nice and great place to be out of the sun. We bought tickets in advance but ended up running late and had to wait 30 mins before they had space for our group.
Got lucky and had a boat to ourselves and our tour guide managed to speak some English so was able to tell us about the caves, stalactites some history and how they had yet to find the source of the clear water. Super friendly gentleman 🙂
We loved the light show at the end of the ride and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There are many low ceilings so there was much of the journey where we had mind our heads and dodge.

Is a very beautiful caves. Boat will take you cross the river to see the caves. Only one thing I don’t like is the transit. If you want to go by your self and save time only way can work is take taxi cost around $60euro per each ways. Otherwise can take local bus to go. It will take around 2 and half hr each ways.

A great way to spend an hour, but book in advance to ensure your place or that you don't have a wait for your visit. The wooden boats hold 12 people and you are directed where to sit on the benches along each side to ensure stability.
There is a guide who poles the boat along and provides some details about the caves etc, in Spanish of-course, and our command of the language wasn't good enough to understand, but we still enjoyed the visit.
The caves are very low in places so you have to watch out and duck down to avoid a knock on the head. For this reason, there are only certain places, where the cavern is large, where it is safe enough to take photos.
The visit takes 45 minutes and after a short boat ride, you alight and wander through the caves for 200m. The floor is smooth concrete, but the width and height varies. At the end of this one-way walk, the boat meets you again so you have a longer ride back.
We booked in advance (as I needed to fit the visit into our schedule) and for 14,50€ each, we visited on Friday 28 April 2023. There were many visitors entering 30 minutes apart and I counted five boats of up-to 12 people in each for the trip after ours (as we had to wait for them all to pass).

Beautiful experience! It is definitely worth a visit when in Valencia! We rented a car and it was about a 45 min drive, free parking outside. There are some restaurants, shops and an ice cream store next to the entrance of the caves. When visiting the caves you go in boats deep into the mountain. The guide explains everything very nicely and with lots of humor! I went with my teenagers and they loved it too.

It was a wonderful experience. A visit to Valencia without a visit to San Jose Cave is not complete. The staffs are amazing, and the cave is well maintained while safety precautions are adhered to at all times to ensure the safety of all visitors and tourists. Added to this, the ticket is not expensive if you go there by yourself and not use a tour guide. It cost just 14£ to experience this amazing cave. Before you go into the caves, there are lots of cafes where you can grab something to eat. Ice cream, drinks, food, etc. You can as well do this when you come out of the cave.
If you are driving by yourself to the cave, there are lots of parking spaces to park your car safely. Don't ever worry about that. I don't know the price for parking but I am sure it won't cost anything. The car park is not far away from the main entrance and that is why I will recommend you drive there if you can as this will save you some money.
I need to say that photos and videos are bot allowed while you are in the cave. This is to prevent tourists' safety so they don't hit their head on the rock while taking a picture or videos. However, you will be giving some time, which is about 5 minutes at a safe spot in the cave to take good quality pictures. For those who would like to swim, you can do that within the 5 minutes, but who would choose to swim and ignore taking good pictures.
If I ever visit Valencia again, I will do this over and over again.

Beautiful caves in a wonderful little town. There are so many great places to eat and drink a beer or wine. Be sure to get your tickets online before you visit as it was sold out our first try. We did the cave tour which was about 45 minutes and then went to eat. After lunch we hiked on a few of the many trails. Our friends drove their camper van and were able to camp easily. Forgot to mention there were a few historic points in the trails and on the lookout.

Probably one of the best underground caves with a river I have ever seen! worth to visit this place for sure! Inside the cave you will use small boats and maybe walking around 200-300 meters. So is accessible for anyone and any age. For tickets is better to buy them in advance at least one day before!

This place is incredible with a very unique cave where you swim on a boat. The lighting there is spot on which allows to see both the ceiling and the river floor. The only downside is always lowering your head so you don't get hit but that's part of the fun :).
I would recommend buying tickets in advance only if you're 100% sure you'll make it to the time you have chosen, oversize buy tickets when you arrive.

These caves are about 45 min outside of Valencia. I recommend booking a tour to make it stress free because you will not have to drive there or wait in line to buy tickets and your tour guide should provide a history of the area along the way, The caves are beautiful. It is a comfortable temperature of 20 celsius inside. You ride a boat thru the tunnels and caves. Then you walk for a little bit and then you get back in your boat and go back through the tunnels and caves but this time you can take pictures. On the return ride you stop in the open area for a music and light show before the exit. There are a few shops and a place to eat in the town. And there's also an old Monastery at the top of the stairs above the stores. It was not a long tour but it was fun for all and something different fr9m the usual shops or Unesco sites. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable and relaxing experience. Floating through the caves enjoying the beautiful sights in the relatively cool surroundings was a great way to enjoy a very hot day. Our only problem was that the guide, although very good, gave a lot of information in Spanish and only spoke English when directly asked a question. We do speak a little Spanish but not at the level he was communicating. I feel we as tourists could have got a lot more from the experience had there been perhaps one of the four boats for English speaking tourists with an English guide.
Thank you so much Ian David for guiding us on a wonderful trip exploring the caves. Very knowledgeable and informative with great English.

There was a guide, but in Spanish, it would have been good to have been an English tour as well

Not worth visiting. The paths between the galleries and caves are not natural. It was created by blasting the rock with TNT. I saw a lot's of broken stalactites that will never recover. Also the bed of the river was filled with sand and cleaned from rocks and debris. Not many parts of the cave system remained untouched. Tourist trap.

Spectacular day trip from Valencia’s. About 45 minutes by car to get here, an hour long boat tour in Europe’s longest underground river, and stunning rock formations. We want to come back for the kayak tour ASAP. There is free covered parking next to the caves. Around the cave entrance there are a handful of bars and restaurants. The fanciest one would need a reservation, though we went to a cheaper one and has no wait for lunch. Alternatively, we found out later about some food trucks in the city center about 5-10 minutes away.

Really great experience it is the longest navigable underground river in Europe, very close to Valencia, they do 2 types of trips, you can go in a boat for 800 meters and then a 250 metre walk, or you can do it in a single or double kayak, which is what we did, you even get the chance to swim in the water. Fantastic experience and would highly recommend it.

Aquarama Water Park in Benicassim is a popular destination for families, offering a wide range of thrilling rides, slides, and pools. It's especially loved by kids and teenagers for its water-based fun. Visitors staying at beach hotels can get tickets at the best prices, and there are special offers available through the park's website. The park features exciting slides that attract repeat visitors every year, though it's recommended to plan ahead as it can get crowded on sunny days.
Affordable, friendly, 20 - 30min waiting time for big slides, for smaller slides no waiting time or very short. Very long queue for waffles :). Would definitely come back again.

Great aqua Park an hour drive from Valencia. It's rather small by US standards, but still has enough attractions and rides to make it worth it. The most thrilling ride is el Diablo. The waiting lines were not bad at all, but I went there the first weekend it opened, so that might change once kids are off school 😁
For the price, it's totally worth it. And by the way, they let you bring in food and drinks😉

It was clean, quite well laid out, and food isn't too expensive (there's a reason for that 😕 (not very good)).. you are allowed to bring your own food and there's a good picnic area. The queues are quite long for rides though, especially the inflatable ones (doughnuts/rubber rings) and everyone wanting to ride must wait in the inflatable queue.. so you have to wait twice. I would go again I guess.. but it was just above average to be honest.

Great water park for both kids and adults. You can bring your own food, and the food there isn't expensive anyway compared to other ones. My smallest kid is 110cm and at this height you can already enjoy quite a few rides. Other rides are 120cm and 130cm minimum. The 3 super crazy ones I believe is also 130 or 150cm. The park is not full and the queues are 5 minutes maximum. I never waited longer than 3 minutes. Enough parking spaces. Buy your tickets online and in advance for best prices.
Highly recommended!!!

Good food even you can bring your own food too. You can buy the tickets cheaper online or at Druni. For the adult around 16 euros. At the counter 23 euros. You have to pay for sun beds 3 euros for all day or you stay on the grass for free. Also they have safes there.

Awful and overpriced. Hardly worth reviewing but I was prompted to. Clientele a bit iffy.
Oliver Hugh-Jones — Google review
Hemos disfrutado mucho, los toboganes son guapos!
We have enjoyed the park a lot and go every year. The slides are very nice. You can picknick or buy something there. Better buy in advance as it can be full on sunny days. But there is enough space for everyone. Some slides have a long queue.
Robby Van Thuyne — Google review
Could be better. Theoretically good slides and nice pools however as another reviewer has said, they let so many people in. It was very very busy so felt like an ant in a colony. Every sunbed taken and the queue for lockers at the beginningand end of the day were something to be seen (we did not bother). Queues for slides were very long so we only bothered for 2 slides. The kids mostly played in the pools and had a good day out. Food etc reasonably priced.

Perched atop the town of Morella, Castell de Morella is an ancient fortress with a rich history dating back to the 3rd millennium BC. The large Moorish castle, built in the 13th century on earlier Iberian and Roman foundations, offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills. Visitors can explore its steep roads, medieval streets, churches, and walls before hiking up to admire its well-preserved walls and terraces.
Castles we know. We went back to Morella in our research about Morella Jewish Quarters. Before arriving to the city, we were able to see again the castle dominating the scene on the top. We visited the medieval streets, explored the churches and walls before hiking up to the castle. When we went up we were able to admire the different walls and terraces of the castle. We also were able to see the views of the churches, the city, and the surroundings mountains. Later, from the distance, we saw what we walked. #abuelosmochileros_morella #abuelosmochileros_castles #geolandmarks #geolandmarks_morella.

Mooi kasteel is zeker de moeite waard om te gaan kijken.
Doe wel goede schoenen aan je moet best ver lopen om omhoog te komen en de trap is echt stijl

Beautiful castle is definitely worth a look.
Put on good shoes you have to walk quite a long way to get up and the stairs are really steep

Morella has a great feel of old Spain, the castle is just part of the experience of Morella with its windy cobble streets, very authentically old homes and shops. It was an excellent over night or 1 day stay. The drive here is beautiful through olive farms and canyons. The castle has much history. This is a smaller village with lots of steps- no cars allowed inside so you must walk in. The castle as well is not accessible for anyone with an injury or disability.

Spectacular place. Good walk up to the fortress back in time&history with amazingly picturesque views. You'll get adorable photos.👌📷 Reasonable price for entry EUR 3,50 and EUR 2,50 for parking nearby. Not overcrowded with tourists. Inspiration guaranteed. Morella is a MUST HAVE in my list of recomendations if you are in this region of Spain. ❤

It's a little town on the hill, with an ancient church building, though small it's very unique worth to explore even though you may have seen many. The castle on the top is a ruine, ancient but nothing much to see. The streets in the middle of the hill are just like any other Spanish town.

Travel with a baby? Make sure to take your sling or ergonomic bag with you and stretch your legs. Pram, or pushchair can be left at the entrance. It took us some +/- 30 min. to climb up the stairs, with some photo taking and view enjoying. We chose morning, and it was a right thing to do, afterwards it got a bit crowded (we saw when we left). The view from the top is spectacular.

Beautiful medieval castle at the top of the mountain with a nice little spanish town below with everything you need.

The castle sits at the top of the hill covering whole village and giving an amazing view from the outside of village. Very picturesque. The village itself has that medieval soul in it. Narrow alleys, buildings, the atmosphere.

Excellent castle to visit. 3 euros 50 for adults. Dogs allowed. Very very windy today - I don't know if that's always the case.

A fabulous spot with great views amongst a lovely village with great shops and restaurants.

Great castle - imagination and historical knowledge will help. Worth a trot up to the top for the views alone but the cave exhibit was a very pleasant surprise - very tasteful indeed. It’s cheap too so a must-see if nearby.

Very nice castle and town, really grand with all walls and towers still standing. Town is not ruined by souvenir shops, but still has a nice atmosphere.

If you have mobility issues you are going to struggle. The entry should be free for disabled guests according to info.
Talking about the castle, we paid 5 euros each to get in. The castle is beautiful, there’s a lot to see. Views are stunning and you see the whole city from the top.

What a beautiful place! If you are traveling from Barcelona to Valencia or vice versa you need to make a break here or of you just need a beautiful a cool and cheap location for vocations well this is just the destination! The old castle is amazing with a beautiful view and small streets and corners, don't missed to visit the garden's next to the castle!

What a lovely place! The views are wonderful and the sense of history is in the air. Gorgeous little restaurants and this was a perfect time to visit away from the summer crowds but the weather was clear and warm. Wouldn't recommend if you have mobility issues as quite a climb but even around the lower areas you can catch the views

Legendary refuge of Pope Benedict XIII and the Knight Templars… great views from atop the castle as well as interesting exhibits with app/audio guides available make for an interesting few hours out at the main attraction in Peñiscola!

A beautiful castle and an amazing landscape over the Peniscola town from the balcony of the castle. The castle is kept in good condition, good time spent here to relax. Also nice vibe from the beach, from the water, because of the castle and the village that surround him.😍❤❤

Simply beautiful. The town around the castle is astonishing with its small alleys and the view on the ocean. We sadly could not go inside the castles as dogs are not allowed but it's also a view from the outside :)
Colin S — Google review
Beautiful sea and city view from all the sides, cheap ticket like around 5 euros. Unfortunately, there are not many things to see except the impressive walls. Most of the rooms are totally empty. It could be an amazing museum if it had better maintenance and some exhibits. Some storytelling videos are projecting in the walls but with kind of poor quality

A Historic Gem,
Nestled on a picturesque hill overlooking the glistening Mediterranean Sea, Peniscola Castle stands as a testament to centuries of history and architectural brilliance. As I stepped through its ancient gates, I was instantly transported back in time to the era of knights and kings.
The castle's commanding presence is awe-inspiring, with its imposing stone walls and fortified towers offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Exploring its labyrinthine corridors and chambers, I was fascinated by the rich tapestry of its past, from its origins as a Moorish citadel to its role as a royal residence during the reign of the Knights Templar.
One of the highlights of my visit was the castle's impressive courtyard, where I marveled at the intricate craftsmanship of its arched arcades and ornate fountains. It was here that I could almost feel the echoes of past events, from grand banquets to fierce battles fought in defense of its walls.
The castle's museum provided a fascinating insight into its history, with displays of artifacts ranging from medieval weaponry to intricate tapestries. I particularly enjoyed learning about the castle's role in the Spanish Reconquista and its significance in the region's cultural heritage.
Overall, my experience at Peniscola Castle was nothing short of unforgettable. Its blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in delving into the rich tapestry of Spain's past. Whether you're a history buff or simply seeking a glimpse into a bygone era, this historic gem offers a captivating journey through time.

A must see if you are in the area. Not expensive 5€ & concessions available. This includes the castle and the artillery garden's.
Amazing views, interesting history. Has been used for film sets and Game of Thrones.
Not the best place to visit if you have limited ability as there are lots of steps.

A beautiful seaside resort with a lovely old quarter within the castle walls, fabulous beaches and lots of fine restaurants. I visited out of season so both traffic and crowds were light. Well worth a visit.

We visited here Friday last week. Winter month is quite quiet in this town. The castle is really the only landmark that makes the attraction of the city so it should not be missed.

beautiful views of the coast, fortress itself rather uninteresting, small exhibition about the templars and pope luna, difficult access for elderly, many many steps, no seats anywhere to rest.... poor set up.
fortress totally over restored, looks as it has been rebuilt some 20 years ago, pity
visit to the not very impressive gardens should be free of charge, entrance fee incl gardens 5 Euro and reduced 3.50 euro, fair prices

Huge castle. €5 per adult entry, but that also includes access to the park created from the castle gardens. Lovely setting, good information boards and videos. Well worth the price. Fabulous views from the top.
We recorded a video there for our You Tube channel, you can find it at @findingxanaduofficial

The Ebro Delta, situated in the southwest of the Province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain, is a picturesque delta region formed by the Ebro River. This area is known for its stunning white sandy beaches and vast expanses of rice fields and marshes that provide a habitat for diverse bird species including flamingos. It is considered one of the most ecologically rich areas in Catalonia.
The Castell de Miravet is a magnificent Romanesque fortress reconstructed by the Knights Templar and boasts breathtaking vistas of the surrounding countryside. Access to this spectacular castle can be achieved via a steep and winding road, or alternatively through a well-marked path within the village. Large vehicles such as motorhomes can utilise designated parking areas located nearby. The castle offers impressive panoramic views from its grounds for an entry fee of 5 (or 3 at reduced rates).
Fabulous castle excellent value for money! The drive up is fun... Steep and twisty turny but managed it in our xlwb ducato. Can also walk up if you fancy it... There us a path through the village, well signed. Saw a sign for motorhome parking so can leave large vehicles there or in the coach parking. If walking, leave vehicle near the plaza next to the river and head up to the old church. Signs for the castle from there

Fascinating for those interested in history & architecture. It gave a good idea of how the Knights Templar etc lived here. Excellent information boards in various languages. Great views.
A narrow winding road up from the village.
Top storey closed on our visit - June '22
Clean toilets.
Popular cafe by the river (although we didn't visit)

Highly ridiculous. I knew that prices had risen due to inflation, but the price to enter this castle is a crime. If you are a history lover and you like to see empty castles with only stone, this is an ideal place for you. I expected there to be materials typical of the century in which construction began. Honestly, in my opinion, it's not worth it. The views are not that pretty (although I have to say that when I took the view the day was cloudy).
It only took us 20 minutes to see the entire castle.
The truth is, I don't understand the people who recommend visiting this place, if you know someone who recommends it, tell them that I pay a visit to the eye doctor, they really need it.
In my opinion, the town looks like the set of a low-budget zombie movie.
thank you very much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼❤️

Parking - huge one, just in front of the castle. No problem to find a spot.
Tickets - No que’ so no need to buy it earlier.
Visit take max 1h, max. Really!
Souvenirs - really poor part of the story. Nothing special, lack of tshirts in all sizes especially the one with knight.
English - basics, prepare Google Translator :)

The castle is beautiful! From the rivers edge, all the way up to the top the views are outstanding.
It is a steep walk to the top, however we managed to get the teenagers to the top! €5 to get in, under 16's are free.

Nice views from the castle, 5€ entry fee (3€ reduced rate). Not sure whether the fee is worth what you're getting but I had a good time nevertheless.

Unmissable, the Templar chapel had an amazing aura. The river Ebro nearby alone is worth a stop for the incredible views. Be aware however there is a small entrance charge to the castle, but it is totally worth it
Gleb Berloff — Google review
Great walk up the hill. Beautiful view of the old town. Cheap to enter the castle, but not much to see once you're in. The trek up is more worth it.
Etienne de Jager — Google review
Place was impossible to penetrate. Boys had it locked down. So beautiful by the river it's like from a Disney film.
PJ McC15 — Google review
Very lovely place. Lots of history, explained with pictures and information posters throughout the castle in English, as well as several other languages. A big part of the castle is very well preserved for the age. It tells the very long history of the location before the modern castle was constructed, how it was constructed, and it's part in history and historical wars and conflicts. Unfortunately, at this moment the upper floors and decks are closed due to visitor safety, but hopefully this is something that can be improved in the future so you get to explore the whole castle. Anyway, you still have plenty places with an amazing view of the Ebro river and the surrounding areas.

Great fortress-castle to visit, interesring history and really impressive size. Well preserved. Climbing up from village side requires some effort, but is rewarded with beautifull views.
Baiba Miezere — Google review
They only allow you to visit a part of the castle which is okay to see it but for the price is being charged it’s not okay. I’ve visited castles in better state for free or cheaper. 5€ seems a little to much for what you going to see.

Amazing castle where you going to spend at least an hour. The road to the castle goes up the hill and it’s really tight. Unfortunately the roof of the castle was closed, so we could not see the whole beauty and scenery that it offers, but it still was a great experience. The castle is beautiful, it is well maintained and preserved. Enjoyed every minute spent there.
