Around 35 km from Borcka. The last 7 km is a cobblestone road. There are potholes here and there. The asphalt road is good, but the stony road is narrow and difficult.
Night time is not recommended. A parking area has been allocated for the camp, but it is far away, there is no lighting and there is no fountain. The mosque is locked at night. The weather is minus at night and the wood you can make is wet and humid. Lighting is a must.
I recommend you to eat corn on the road.

Located in a stunning national park, the Haghartsin Monastery Complex is a 10th-century gem that offers tranquility and beauty. Visitors can explore the monastery at their own pace, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The complex boasts breathtaking views from the hill and nearby attractions like Haghartsin Gata and a hidden waterfall, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers.
Had a beautiful day walking around these beautiful place.First I went to Haghartsin Gata where I had a gata with cheese which I liked but it was cold and didn't seem fresh. There are quite big stray dogs but they are harmless. THE monastery is beautiful and from the hill looks amazing.I than went for a hike and visited the hidden waterfall which is like 20 min walk. There is plenty to see and I wish I had more time but it was getting dark so I headed back to my place.

We walked for around fifteen minutes to our bus, through a forested road where the trees were ablaze with autumn coloure, to this peaceful oasis. The Ropeway of Tsaghkadzor's corporate office offers ski equipment rentals at affordable prices and access to long, enjoyable runs via chairlift. Full day, half day, and single tickets are available for purchase. Located only an hour's drive from Yerevan, it's a great destination for snow sports enthusiasts.
Went here last summer and had an amazing experience. The view of Armenia and Teghenis Mountain was spectacular. Just keep in mind though, the chair has no lockable safety bar, so be still🤭

Spent a few days skiing here in mid February and had a great time. Plenty of snow and the runs are long and fun. Ski's and boots can be hired at very reasonable prices for the day. All slopes are via chairlift with full day, half day and single tickets available. Definitely worth a trip if you are in Yerevan and fancy some snow sports as it's only about an hours drive.

A great skiing spot 🎿 though we visited the place when there was no snow.
We were able to enjoy the ropeway and enjoyed the breathtaking views from the ropeway and cannot wait to go back again when this is covered in snow.
Just the experience of the ropeway and the views from up top is worth the trip.
Will recommend!!

I had the pleasure of visiting Tsakadsor with my family during our tour of Armenia on August 7th, 2023. Despite it being summer, Tsakadsor offered us a refreshing break from the heat with its cool and pleasant weather.
One of the highlights of our visit was the exhilarating cable car ride that took us to the summit. As we ascended, we were treated to breathtaking views of the lush green forests and vibrant wildflowers below. It felt like a journey into a picturesque wonderland.
While Tsakadsor is renowned for its winter activities, such as skiing, the summer experience was equally enchanting. We spent quality time at the hilltop, basking in the serene beauty that surrounded us. The scenery became even more captivating as we descended back to the bottom station, with every turn revealing new vistas.
I highly recommend Tsakadsor as a must-visit destination, especially if you find yourself in Armenia during the summer. It's an incredible place to escape the heat, enjoy a cable car adventure, and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this remarkable region. We'll cherish the memories of our Tsakadsor visit for years to come.

First of all after taking tickets you are welcomed by a rude customer executive who says “hurry up and stand in blue line fast”. Then they don’t give any safety instructions. After going a few meters we found that the bar can be pulled for further safety and to keep your legs. But the views were amazing. On top there are activities like buggy ride etc for cash payment. For card they charge commission of 1000 amd but the service was good. Overall good experience in snow
Sevanavank is a well-known 9th-century monastery located on a peninsula in Sevan Lake, about 12km from the town of Sevan. Originally built on an island, changes in water levels have transformed it into a peninsula with picturesque views. Visitors can climb around 250 paved steps to reach the complex and enjoy panoramic views of the lake. It's advisable to bring warm clothing due to windy conditions and lower temperatures compared to Yerevan.
The Monastery is beautiful and a brilliant architectural masterpiece. The major highlight of this monastery is the scenery from the top. Captivating Lake Sevan, with mountains surrounded. It is well maintained and is totally superb. Loved the vibe over there.
Ajeesh Vijay — Google review
Sevanavank is a monastic complex located on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan in Armenia. "The Blue Pearl of Armenia" is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world. Overlooking the lake, the Sevanavank monastery ruins are a beautiful and historically significant destination just a few hours north of Armenia's capital, Yerevan.
Navid Aminaghaee — Google review
This 9th century monastic complex was built on an island in Lake Sevan, now a peninsula because of changes to the water level
Around 250 paved steps (with hand rails) up a hill, the complex offers panoramic views of the jewel of Armenia
Tips:
- it is often windy and feels a good 10 degrees below temperatures in Yerevan so do bring a windbreaker or warm jacket
- it'll be crowded on most days
- some rocks on the steps are slightly loose so do trek carefully and use the handrail
- bring some food to feed the strays there if you want. There were four at the car park below and a pack of four adults and five puppies above when we visited

The beauty and grandeur of this hope place is unparalleled. The views are breathtaking. I loved this place and could have spent a day here exploring the area. Lots of places to buy souvenirs. Ruth Hartunian-Alumbaugh — Google review
The monastery is beautiful and gives you a great view over the Sevan Lake. It is quite crowded here, so if you want to have it for yourself, come early!
The area surrounding the monastery looks outdated and abandoned. There are also many tourist shops here (ofcourse). There is a parking at the bottom, afterwards you’ll have to walk up some stairs to get to the top.
Michael vd Berg — Google review
Impressive couple churches with an amazing view on the lake. Probably does not deserve five stars but I ended up there during a mass and it was so amazing and atmospheric I could have not given less!
Carlo — Google review
First, an interesting fact: the place where the monastery is, used to be an island, back when the lake was deeper.
The buildings are made of stones much darker than of the other monasteries around the country. There are two buildings on top of the hill. There's a third building which toilets (which can also be found on the way to the top).
The view is great, with water all around. It can get VERY windy, to the point that glasses and hats won't be safe.
There are several souvenir sellers on the way to the top, and you can buy some snacks on the street below.
Gustavo Molitor Porcides — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Blue skies, blue water. Except it to be 10C colder than Yerevan. Windy, pack a warm jacket.
Ignore the shops and restaurants and you’ll enjoy it.

These place is extremely beautiful, in general it could be crowds in the weekends, although in the weekdays it’s not that crowded, the experience is truly great and the breeze is wonderful, as you can see from my photos the view is also astounding, you can spend family time there and enjoy a good talk with your siblings or parents/ friends, although if we can here in a stormy day or rainy day, it wouldn’t have been very pleasant, in addition to that a few kilometers from this place is a wonderful restaurant that I review be sure to check it out.
Don’t forget to like the review of you enjoyed it!

Sevanavank is located on a peninsula at the northwestern shore of Lake Sevan.
You will need a little more of your reserved energy to get there as its located in a hill about 250 to 300 steps. Its a bit steep, however, you can hold the railing or relax somewhere in between.
The view is really worth it when you reach the top- its relaxing and you can see the almost the whole of Sevan Lake.
Please be mindful to be solemn and respectful when entering the Church.
One of the must-visit place when in Armenia.
Highly recommended for all.
Elmer Solon — Google review
The view is stunning with two old churches and a lot of old artifacts. The backdrop of Sevan Lake is breathtaking. Access to the monastery is through a long set of stairs. Need few minutes to reach the top. Few small shops selling souvenirs and a guy selling overpriced candles.

The Cascade Complex in Yerevan is a must-see destination for those interested in modern and contemporary art. This architectural marvel features a cascading series of stairs, landscaped gardens, fountains, and sculptures. It is also home to an arts center that includes the Swarovski Museum, known as one of the most impressive museums in the region. The complex houses the Cafesjian Museum of Art with its diverse exhibits from the Gerard L. Cafesjians collection of contemporary art.
Lovely airy area with manicured planted area, various modern unusual sculptures from British, Korean,Chinese artist with the cascade steps as a background. Various places to eat and benches to rest. Seems like a popular spot.
Security was keeping an eye on the place.
Overall felt very safe.

Probably the biggest must see attraction in Yerevan and rightfully so.
The complex is absolutely stunning and each level is beautifully crafted or build. The complex is decorated with art installations inside, outside and around the Cascade. You get beautiful views from most of the levels and/or top. You can climb the Cascade by foot or use the inside escalators.
Definitely worth visiting during day and evening/sunset.
Steven Simons — Google review
Breathtaking views are only one of the many offerings this unique location has. There’s also the playful and unique art pieces in the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. The ascent to the top rewards you with the beautiful vistas of Yerevan. It’s not a difficult climb by any means but it’s also a nice way to stretch your legs. The Soviet architecture and fountains provide a feast for the eyes. I don’t think a visit to Yerevan is complete without a visit here, but that comes from someone who’s only been there once. But if and when I return to this lovely city, I will definitely make a visit to the Cascade.
P deGuz — Google review

Beautiful terrace bar and restaurant overlooking the city of Yerevan. Stunning views of the city and Mount Ararat. The prices are high but you pay for the beautiful view. Great place to bring a date or have a special occasion. You can watch the sunset and view Mount Ararat in the distance. The staff was incredibly friendly. Would highly recommend after you climb up the Cascades for a nice rewarding drink/meal.

A very interesting building in the center of the city. Each floor has its own gallery which are free. Only for one floor an entrance ticket is required. All the exhibits are explained in 4 different languages, Armenian, Russian, French and English. Take the steps up to the top of the Cascade and you will get rewarded with an astonishing view over the city and the mountain Ararat.
In the evening the Cascade is beautiful illuminated.

Another great place worth visiting when in Yerevan. It has 500 plus steps (more to be added according to our tour guide) and there are several levels that feature fountains (closed in winter due to the cold temperature) and statues. The greenery adds more to the charm of this place. Only stayed for less than an hour due to limited time but I’m rating it 5/5 for sure!
Her Shey — Google review
Not only can you see the city of Yerevan from above, but you can also see Mount Ararat in the distance on a clear day.
The cascade is illuminated at night and is very beautiful.
You can take the escalator up, but I recommend walking up.

It is the most visited site in yerevan. It was constructed during soviet period.just a walking distance from the opera. It is somewhat hard to climb the stairs, but I heart that there is an escalator. At the top you will have a great view of the city. You can continue to the memorial statue to the victory park.

A great architectural building. Visiting this place during late spring or early summer are the best times. The fountains are really nice, as are the sculptures and statues. The art inside is also decent. The escalators are efficient and clean. Everything inside is also clean. A very nice place.
Narek Ohanyan — Google review
I went there on Monday midnight. The place was secluded, dark, enormous, and soothing.
There were some folks who walked the stairs for exercising, but no tourists were checking there on midnight.
By the time you get to the top, you can see most of the Northern Street. You can check the time from clock on the back of Opera and Ballet House underneath.
Mohamad Hoseini — Google review
It's a beautiful place. It has close to 500+ steps made of limestone with greenery around and enough resting place and security guards. You will find loads of beautiful cafes and restaurants around offering great drink and dinning options..mostly international cuisines.
. Once you reach the top you will witness that it's surrounded by beautiful hills and cotton clouds floating. We thoroughly enjoyed.
Great example of soviet architecture in Yerevan.

The Cascade is an imposing grandiose staircase that serves as both an architectural wonder and an open-air art gallery.
It features a series of large-scale art installations and sculptures, making it a hub for art enthusiasts.
Climbing the Cascade offers panoramic views of Yerevan, making it a popular spot for photographers and tourists.
The Cascade hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and performances, contributing to Yerevan's vibrant cultural scene.
The terraced gardens surrounding the Cascade are well-maintained and provide a serene environment to relax in.

Big open area with some tourists and even more locals
Interesting art work and the cascade/waterfall areas can be scaled by walking or via escalators on the sides hidden inside the massive structure
Cafes are somewhat catered to tourists judged by their value
Quite a few well behaved strays, mostly tagged (vaccinated and released), napping near people but there are signs saying not to feed them
Chi Kit Wong — Google review
One of the main highlights of Yerevan combining soviet architecture and modern art. The structure consists of a long staircase that was intended to connect the center of the city to the hill of the victory park to the north but was never completed. There is an indoor escalator inside and several pieces of art all across the structure and in the park at the lower end. The area is also surrounded by restaurants and cafes and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Yerevan.

I really liked and enjoyed it.
You can spend hours here, and there are different types of restaurants at the bottom that you can use and rest there.
It was a pleasant place.
But the big problem was not having a toilet, which I think is a big disadvantage for this place.

The cascade takes you up to a beautiful and scenic point overlooking Yerevan.
The way up is not that hard if you have little bit of fitness. The way up is filled with artistic pieces and different modern art work that adds extra taste to the attraction.
Unfortunately once you reach up, nothing much to do!! There is no food kiosk or coffee shop to sit and enjoy the view.

It has a great collection of manuscripts on display. However it's a shame that it doesn't let people take photos or videos. And the fit shop section was closed during our visit on a Friday early afternoon and we couldn't buy anything though we wanted to. There were many people working though.

From afar, the Matenadaran looks like a religious building. The big statue that you notice when walking up the street that leads to the building looks like the statue of a saint. But don't let looks deceive you. The Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts is a museum and research institute that is dedicated to the preservation of manuscripts and books written in the Armenian alphabet. The big statue is a depitction of Mesrop Mashtots, the inventor of the Armenian alphabet. If you have the time, the Matenadaran is a short walk from Cascade, one of the biggest attractions of Yerevan. You can easily squeeze a visit on the same day.

Matenadaran is one of the must-see museums in Yerevan. The historical books and manuscripts are truly breathtaking. The displays are laid out perfectly for everyone to follow and understand. Getting a tour guide is always worth every penny; however, I highly recommend to take the time and read the descriptions as they are very informative.

With a world-class collection of awe-inspiring works in an equally awesome building, this is certainly a must-see in Yerevan. The manuscripts are presented without much context however, so the 5000 dram guided tour is worthwhile if you can afford it. Had the collection only been better presented, this could have been a museum of global renown.

Recommended! What history. Some books were 1,000 years older than I am. They let you take pictures with a phone camera, no flash, without buying the photography pass. They have free lockers for backpacks, clean bathrooms, and plenty of places to sit and relax between admiring the books.

An extraordinary place with a great exhibition of ancient books and printings. I was very impressed that the exhibits are commented in 4 languages (Armenian, Russian, English and French).
I recommend to take a guide for the exhibition, they will give you so much insight information about the book and the history.
It is a MUST to visit it.

I was torn on visiting here with some earlier mixed reviews, and even more so on getting a guide, but I’m SO glad I did. I was here easily two hours and the English guide I had, Lillit, was fantastic. Excellent English skills and explanations for all the manuscripts and books she pointed out. The tour was about an hour or maybe more and I enjoyed every minute. The 5000 dram price for the guided tour is so worth it. Yes, there are English translations for everything but you won’t get a true understanding and context of all you see. Also Lillit, loved your bronze eye makeup! Apparently there is an additional cost for taking photos, which I wasn’t aware of, but Lillit me sneak a bunch. I’m so grateful to her and highly recommend her services! This place is a gem for bibliographiles.

Extraordinary place to visit in Yerevan, Armenia.
Recommended to all who are interested in information about the book and the history.
Republic Square, formerly known as Lenin Square, is a grand city square in Yerevan that serves as the central hub for public events and celebrations. The square features colorful and singing fountains that operate from mid-spring to fall, creating a lively atmosphere from 9 pm to 11:30 pm. This Soviet-designed plaza is now the architectural centerpiece of the capital and offers visitors the chance to stroll around, people-watch, and explore some of Yerevan's most impressive museums and galleries.
Beautiful center of historic Yerevan. Singing fountains every evening, great soundtrack. Peaceful and insightful place full of energy of Armenia

Even in cold winter this square looked nice and elegant with a pink marble buildings around it. It's pleasant to have a walk in the evening here, might get busy here. Seems like if you are in Yerevan, it will be difficult to miss this place.

A great place to stroll on a breezy afternoon, but the square looks so much more beautiful and picturesque at night with all the building lights on and the fountain dancing to some music. The square is surrounded by various restaurants and food stalls at reasonable prices so there’s no shortage of options if you go hungry. A must-visit when in Yerevan!

Come at night and go people watching in this area of town! Much of the city's very long history can be told through the buildings around this square and the museums in it. The history museum is the one that is most notable. And the old post office -- which still functions to this day!
Of note are the pinkish and yellowish stones used as materials for the buildings. It was rainy when I visited but with the right lighting I can tell that it will be even more gorgeous.

The field is a very beautiful place, and its sunsets have a captivating waterfall dance. I wish that only the traffic, especially car parking, could be limited in this beautiful location, which, in my opinion, has diminished the beauty of the field significantly.

Garni Temple, located about 30 km from Yerevan, is a well-preserved ancient structure dating back to 77 AD. It stands as the only remaining Greek-Romanian colonnaded building in Armenia and post-Soviet countries. Despite undergoing extensive restoration work, the temple still offers an intriguing glimpse into pre-Christian Armenia's cultural heritage. Visitors can explore the site's historical significance and architectural marvel while enjoying the scenic surroundings.

Geghard Monastery is a World Heritage site located in the Azat River Gorge in Armenia. It is named after the holy spear that pierced Jesus' side during his crucifixion and was founded in the 4th century according to legend. The oldest chapel still standing dates back to the 12th century, and its Holy Mother of God Church boasts beautiful carvings from 1215.
Monastery carved into the mountain, not far from the temple of Garni (either a short taxi ride or a nice walk along the road if you're feeling brave and it's not too hot outside). There wasn't much tourists when I visited (July 2019) making it a peaceful escape from all the hustle and bustle back in Garni and Yerevan

Beautiful medieval monastery complex, partially carved out in the mountain rocks. Located in the stunning gorge of the Azat river. It is a must see place in Armenia.
Igor Pir?i? — Google review
One of the more different looking monasteries, because it seems to have been carved directly on the mountainside.
It is pretty big and looks pretty nice, which several rooms spread among several levels. If you go through the small door on the wall behind the main building, you will find the toilet, which costs 100 drams and is that weird hole in the ground, not very usual in Europe or America. You will also find a nice small bridge going over a small river.
When coming from the parking lot and into the temple, you will find a small trail going up, into an opening on the mountain side. It's just a very small cave with lots of small rocks on its floor. Beware that there might be snakes there.
You can buy souvenirs and snacks in the parking lot.

What a great place filled with history. The part of the church is carved out of the mountain. Most of the artwork is carved directly into the walls of the mountain.

The monastery is located in the mountains, not far from Garni and the Stone Symphony. A very ancient monastery, some of the temples are completely hollowed out inside the rocks. Other church are complex structures, consisting of both walled chambers and chambers carved deep into the cliff.

Listed as a UNESCO heritage site. This historical monastery looks like it’s been carved directly on the Rocky Mountains and it’s situated in a beautiful location surrounded by green mountains and river. It’s too crowded spot, better to come early morning.
Parking fees is 200 amd for toilet 100 amd , toilets are not clean. On the way to monastery there is some souvenir and gata bread shops , better to avoid gata bread shops they were very rude and also you will get much more fresh and tasty gata from outside restaurants.
On the way to geghard monastery from garni temple you can find many steet vendors selling fresh fruits and berries on roadsides for cheap price.

The church was built in two different time periods and consists of two main parts. At the beginning of the 13th century, this area was considered a private property of the Zakarian family. This family was one of the richest families in Armenia and ordered the construction of the outer church in 1215 AD. Years later, a family named "Prussians" bought this property from Zakarians and ordered the construction of an inner church.
Outside the church, above the south door, there is the coat of arms of Prince Zakarian's family. This symbol of the royal lion is similar to the royal symbols of the eastern nations. On the right side of the corridor, there are two stone entrances. The entrance on the left (built in 1240 AD) contains a pond that is filled with spring water. On the right side, there is a small church that was built in 1263 and contains four columns and the tomb of Prince "Papak Prussian" and his wife "Hrozakan". On this tomb there is a figure of two chained lions and an eagle as a memorial to this family. It is engraved. On the left side of the stone steps on the 10-meter hill, there is a small church carved out of raw stone.
I definitely recommend it

Definitely one of the nicest monasteries in Armenia. It is at the Turkish border and in the background you can see the great Ararat mountain.
You can park the car at the beginning and then walk a bit upwards. Parking cost me 500amd, not sure if this is the normal price, at other monasteries it was 200amd. The entrance to the monastery is free.
Go a bit early if you want to avoid big crowds and make sure to read a bit about the monastery before visiting it. There’s not a lot of information there.

It very near to the closed border of Turkey, so expect that if you're a tourist your phone will receive a notification welcoming you to Turkey's mobile phone network operator as it happens to all of us when we were there.
In the Monastery, you can go down to the underground confinement, however, we didn't try as we are afraid of the very narrow stairway.

Getting to the place just in between of mountains is super picturesque. We have been there and were told to get down the well as it is permitted to make a wish as by a legend the cross down there had been standing there for many many years and never moved since the first monk placed it there.
It is very dark down there so you need a torch to see things, but not very deep. Anyway, don't be scared to go down as if we would not be told to do so, I would never gone down as would have though that it would not be allowed. Great place with a few interesting things there.

A beautiful church with breathtaking views. The church has two floors and you can climb to the second floor through small steps laid outside. This is one of the most beautiful sites I have been to in Armenia so far!

My favorite monastery to visit in Armenia is like 83 km from Yerevan center very twisty mountain roads worth visiting, Not much of tourist which is a good thing for the calm and soothing visit.

Noravank Monastery is a beautiful 13th-century monastery located in a narrow gorge, surrounded by tall, sheer cliffs. With stunning architecture and intricate carvings and reliefs and place has all total different vibe.
The road to noravank is amicable and goes b/w mountains. It has washroom and souvenir shop. No ticket needed.
There were some small shops however I would recommend to bring snacks and water.

This meticulously preserved area features ancient tombs, offering a breathtaking vista of the canyon that extends into the distance. The peculiar, Martian-like soil adds an extra layer of fascination to this intriguing location.

Monastery was built in the 13th century. Fascinating staircase to the second level over the entrance of the newer church. The staircase was very narrow and steep, making it hazardous to use. It is now prohibited to climb the stairs due to this risk. Beautiful cross stones inside the older church
CK Cheong — Google review
A well-maintained area with ancient tombs, a stunning view of the canyon stretching far into the distance, and the Martian-like soil (a reddish hue) make this place even more intriguing. If you have the time and desire, you can climb higher, from where the monastery looks incredibly beautiful against the backdrop of the mountains.

Noravank Monastery is a must see place to visit in Armenia. The route to the place is scenic. It is the religious sight an ancient masterpiece but it is also really renowned because of the location and scenery surrounding it.
The road to Noravank Monastery is scenic and narrow. After you pass through Areni village, it will wind through canyons and the colors of the mountains change to a bright red and orange. The entire surrounding areas of Noravank is truly surreal.
It is located in Vayots Dzor province, Noravank Monastery is considered to be one of the most old pieces of architecture in Armenia and it is said that has faced many renaissances and renovations throughout its rich history.
Imposing remains of a huge stone fortress from the 9th century BCE perched atop a steep bluff.
What a nice place in spring season.. I love the atmosphere and nature.. you should ensure to take your time here

To start with: the beauty of this historical place is undeniable of course. However the route to the top is very unclear. (I believe) there are two routes. One seems easier than the other, which is trough normal ground. It does not seem like an official route though, just a route through the grass that has been walked by many people. And one is through the stairs made of stones. There are no fences which makes it very dangerous. Considering the castle is 80 meters in height, so no fences whatsoever is not safe. Secondly, the route with the stones stopped almost at the top, it was not possible to go to the castle. So knowing getting there took so much effort, it was very frustrating. It surely was an anticlimax. Make sure to wear good shoes because the stones are very slippery and on a hot day you will also need water. I think such a beautiful place deserves more facilities, like a decent stairway or something that makes it more accessible.

Nice castle with a great full view of Van and Van Lake. We went when there is snow there, and it's beautiful. However, the way back down can be a little slippery so watch out for your steps.
The castle can be better if the authorities put in more attention to it.
Not much people when we went there in late December.
We hope the local authorities can put more attention to the historic castle such as cleanliness and building new toilets.
All in all, we we enjoyed our visit there and hope to visit there again next time.

Its kinda hiking with impressive slope :) be prepared for a 20 min foot pain but at the end u see the whole city under you. Should go definitely

Take your time to visit this place if you enjoy history. Is worth the walk to the entire facility. If you wish to do that, be prepare for an easy hike into the mountain across de field. Wear long pants, sport shoes, and if possible long sleeve or get some bug repellant many flying insects in the fields.
Don’t worry they don’t attack but it is sometimes annoying when you look up and see hundreds or when you move your arms quickly and touch them.
I was with short sleeve and no issues what so ever

It could be an amazing attraction but it is not taken care of, and it is not easy to visit. Even the part where the Xerxes inscription is located is super interesting but there is not even an entrance. There are ancient churches completely ruined that could be restored and exhibited as tourist attraction. It has great potential but poorly administered.
Pablo Guajardo — Google review
Go to the museum first. It’s best to come to the castle by car or bus. If the big gate on the east side isn’t open, it’s 5 km, around the farms to the lake side entrance. There are very few signs to guide you. I had to ask a farmer for help. The climb to the top is strenuous and uneven. Wear good shoes. It’s sad to see how much trash is everywhere. The Turks can learn from the Greeks about how to care for historical sites. The view is nice. It’s very difficult to get to the Xerxes Epigraph. There are bees everywhere. If you are allergic, then don’t go!

This location from outside looks soo huge & impressive that some people of our group didn't feel good to climb to the top.
We had to check the history through some reviews & websites to understand the history of this palace that exists for almost 3 000 years & so many civilizations left traces there.
I hope one day they will be able to restore it and facilitate the access.

Such a beautiful Castle. You have to visit! You can see the city site and also on the other side you can see Van lake. It is a little bit hard to find the entrance to the Castle. And also there are two-part divided.

I read some comments and saw that some people are bored here but its not because of the fortress I think. ☹️If you dont like history do not visit such places. I disagree with you, it is a perfect place to see. The only problem is the toilet. Its dirty, it should be clean, and they should put toilet paper 🧻

Amazing historic castle. Much of it has been restored, but the views and placement in incredible. Highly recommended. Not a safe place for kids though...
Home to a historic church & many bird species, this 3-km. long island is the largest in Lake Van.
One of the most well maintained antique church I’ve seen. The trip os beautiful as you take a boat and enjoy the view. Nice cafe and souvenir store on the island.
To get there is tricky. You must drive to the port with enough time since they need at least 12 people per boat. We went at 15:00 and departed at 16:40 which in this case it was the last ferry. So don’t be confident you’ll make it in low season, give yourself enough time.

Wonderful island, amazing history, peaceful during the week. The dance party boat is terrible. Island entry price of 290pp is way too steep, (especially when it should include an audio guide which they only have in Turkish.) That's the normal entry price for adults, BTW, not just foreigners. Saw plenty of locals paying that. Still...absolutely worth the half day trip. Take swimming gear, picnic go early, and take an afternoon boat back. Magic.

It is a beautiful island! Not big but the view is amazing. You can see the lake and mountains at the same time. There is two different port you can take a boat to Island. and Island has as well. It takes around 40min or 1 hour-ish. Depends on from which port you take a boat.

Beautiful island with a beautiful architecture of the church. You can take ferries for 25TL (2021 prices, forth and back total price). You gotta be careful in off season as the ferry waits for at least 10 people to load, or expect to pay more. I had to rent it all alone as there was nobody in December. Make sure you buy a museum card at the entrance as it is cheaper that way. U can use the ticket for the Van castle and Van museum, too.

A great place to visit but the Museum fee to enter does not warrant the appalling amount of litter and disgusting state of the toilets, which the museum staff seem to willing use without complaint.
My first picture shows an empty rubbish bin with litter by the path

Not easy to get to by public transport (take a dolmus to Gevas from the main state road), and way too touristic. The grounds are littered with trash and the view is not nearly as nice in autumn as in spring.

The Grand Mosque of Kuwait is the biggest mosque in the country and one of over 1000 in the city. It survived an Iraqi invasion and was built at a cost of $46 million, equipped with extravagant features like palm tree-lined courtyards, stained glass from France, Moroccan mosaics, chandeliers from Germany and Italian marble detailing. The interior is decorated with opulent blue and gold-studded designs featuring teak wooden doors from India.
Went Oct. 19, '21 around 9:30am they are open for tours.
My friend and I were overwhelmed by the beauty of the structure, it is purely amazing! The tour guide, Ms. Kholoud is very friendly and informative. Visiting the Grand Mosque is a must if you are staying in Kuwait.

This is a beautiful mosque and the heart of Kuwait City. What I liked best was the friendliness of the staff and tour guides. Also, there is a small but nice calligraphy museum on-site.
My tour guide actually spent over 10 years in the United States and spoke excellent English. She was friendly and jovial, and a big advocate of Kuwait. She was very knowledgeable and answered every question I had.
Although this may not be the largest or most beautiful mosque in the world, it's worth a visit if you're in town.

The mosque is usually not open to visitors. Watch out social media platforms to know when a tour is organized either in Arabic or English.
The tour normally is free of charge and lasts upto an hour.
At the end of the tour, the organizers are generous enough to offer water, juice and coffee for the attendees; again without any charge.
Overall, very informative and beautiful photos experience. Do pay a visit if gotten a chance.

The Kuwait Towers are iconic structures in the country and a popular tourist attraction. The towers are made of blue-tiled panels and rise to 187m. There is a viewing deck at 120m which offers 360-degree views. A gift shop and restaurants are also available. The towers became famous for their design and it is worth visiting to see them up close.
Absolutely amazing and breathtaking sight day or night in incredible Kuwait City!!! The view from the observation sphere is quite phenomenal! I have been there twice in the past month (day and night) and the staff there is simply wonderful - very helpful and quite friendly all over the area.
The snack bar on the observation deck has many tasty treats and beverages to choose from. One of many beautifully rich and historic sights to see in Kuwait.
Completely recommend!

One of the highlights of the Kuwait Towers is the magnificent panoramic view it offers. As I reached the observation deck, I was greeted with stunning vistas of the Arabian Gulf, as well as an unobstructed view of the city skyline. It was a truly mesmerizing sight that left a lasting impression.
The entrance fee for the Kuwait Towers is 3 KWD. It's worth noting that the towers also house a revolving floor.
Furthermore, the Kuwait Towers allow visitors to witness the beauty of the sea from a different perspective. Whether you choose to take a leisurely stroll around the base of the towers or simply stand and admire the vastness of the ocean, it is an absolute treat for the senses.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Kuwait Towers to anyone visiting or residing in Kuwait. The entrance fee is justified by the remarkable views it offers, giving you a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of the sea and the city from a remarkable vantage point. It's a must-visit destination that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Good place to visit in Kuwait. One of the iconic plac which you can't miss it. The viewing gallery is very nice and the rotating platform gives you an actual 360degree view from there. They could have added few seat's at least in the cafe area for the people sit back and enjoy the views. It's really disappointing. Very friendly staffs you find from the ticket counter to the end. Please choose a day with clear weather to get the actual beauty of this place. Feel like the evening timing could be the best.

Amazing place. These two towers are actually water towers.. the middle tower looking like Capitol Hill tower contains lighting system for decoration during the darkness. When you go on the top tower, there is a cafeteria, and a section that spins around and it takes 30 minutes per revolution. During that spin, you have sight at a beautiful downtown, water (gulf) and nice buildings around downtown. After that spin though your head start feeling dizzy. Lower tower is where you find your gift shop . Customer service is epic! People take you in elevator up and down, and go above and beyond to help you around!
Please don’t bring any other currency other than KD. Please do not smoke in the area and the compound around. Overall the price is 3KD which is approximately $9.0. Way cheaper Compared to Willis tower downtown Chicago if you ever visited. Otherwise they call can speak English!

It requires 3 KWD per person as an entry fee. The observatory deck is not very big and becomes crowded if a large number of persons visit it at the same time. The deck rotates itself, which takes approx 30 minutes for a full round. The city side view is not so far enough and gets obstructed by other taller buildings. The sea side view is not clear enough due to either hazy weather or unclear glass windows. About half an hour is enough to visit it.

**Kuwait Towers: An Architectural Marvel on the Arabian Gulf**
Nestled along the Arabian Gulf, the Kuwait Towers are a trio of iconic structures that have become synonymous with the country's modern skyline. Designed by Danish architect Malene Bjorn, these towers have stood tall as a symbol of Kuwait's architectural prowess since their completion in 1979.
**Architecture and Design**
The three towers form a striking ensemble, with their distinctive circular shapes and varying heights. The main tower, known as the Main Tower, stands at an impressive 187 meters tall. Its spherical structure houses two observation decks, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the surrounding gulf.
The two smaller towers, known as the Auxiliary Towers, are 147 meters tall. These towers contain water reservoirs that supply the city with potable water. The spherical orbs at the top of these towers serve as restaurants, providing diners with a unique dining experience with stunning views.
**Engineering Marvel**
The Kuwait Towers are not only architectural masterpieces but also engineering marvels. The Main Tower features a unique suspension system that allows it to withstand high winds and seismic activity. The water reservoirs in the Auxiliary Towers are supported by a complex network of pillars and beams, ensuring the safe storage and distribution of water.
**Tourist Attraction**
The Kuwait Towers have become a major tourist attraction. Visitors can ascend the Main Tower to enjoy the panoramic views, dine in the revolving restaurants of the Auxiliary Towers, or simply admire the towers' striking architecture from afar. The surrounding area features a park, fountains, and other amenities, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
**Symbol of Kuwait**
The Kuwait Towers have transcended their architectural significance to become a symbol of Kuwait's progress and development. They have been featured on stamps, banknotes, and countless souvenirs, and their image is instantly recognizable around the world.
**Conclusion**
The Kuwait Towers are a testament to the architectural ingenuity and engineering prowess of Kuwait. Their striking design, engineering marvel, and iconic status make them a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Kuwait. As a symbol of the country's modern identity, the Kuwait Towers will continue to inspire and awe visitors for generations to come.

The Kuwait Towers are a group of three thin towers in Kuwait City, standing on a promontory into the Persian Gulf. They were the sixth, and last, group in the larger Kuwait Water Towers system of 34 towers (33 store water; one stores equipment), and were built in a style considerably different from the other five groups. The Kuwait Towers were officially inaugurated in March 1979 and are regarded as a landmark and symbol of modern Kuwait. The towers were closed for maintenance from March 2012 to 8 March 2016, with a massive fireworks festival commemorating the re-opening. Kuwait Towers facility is operated and managed by the state-owned Touristic Enterprises Company. The Main Tower served as the venue for TEDxKuwaitCity event in 2018 and 2019.

This market is one of the oldest markets in kuwait. It gets crowded mostly in winter. You can find a lot of stores that sells traditional things. Like gold stores, restaurants, cafes, fish market, meat markets, vegetable stores, and a lot of other stores. You can find almost everything here or around this place. The store owners are kind and respectful. The other nice thing about this market is the atmosphere. You can come shopping with your family and friends, and while shopping there are plenty of places for the kids to get entertained. You also can find stores that sells wholesale products but you should look for them. It was an amazing experience we’ve enjoyed it.

The. most famous things you can find there( jalabiya, fabric, traditional food, ice cream truck, henna, traditional restaurants, perfumes, fruits, vegetables, honey, accessories)

One of the authentic kuwait local market.
This market conveyed the Kuwaiti heritage and culture.
There is restaurants, fresh food, perfumes, local dresses and many more.
There is parking lot underneath the souq and beside the shops.
Note, the WC facility is not recommended to visit 😖

This popular traditional market is located in Kuwait City, between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Salem & Palestine Streets. This market has been around for at least 200 years. The market was damaged during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, however it was renovated and it got back its traditional flavor.
You can spend hours in this market strolling around and discovering reasonable bargains on heritage goods such as Persian silk carpets, real Arab antiques, perfumes like musk and oud, and traditional costumes. This place is perfect whether you want to shop, eat, or for sightseeing. Al-Mubarakiya features a variety of shops such as dates, honey, spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. In addition to a range of shops accessories, gold and silver jewelries. The market also hosts two mini museums: Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk and the first Islamic pharmacy in Kuwait, and admission is free.
There is a courtyard near Al-Bahar or Sea Mosque, where you can find traditional cafes brewing their teas over coals, and several small restaurants are lined-up where they serve authentic Arabic, Indian, Persian food to the customers in the open air. The prices are the cheapest in Kuwait. On hot summer days, water mist is sprayed from pipes over the tables to give you a cooling feeling. A children playground is nearby and shisha is also available.

Definitely come here during the night than daytime. It has more lights and crowds and it looks much prettier. It will take you quite a while to walk through the busy markets and streets but definitely worth it. Traffic is bad so park somewhere close by and walk or take a taxi or public transit.

Not really that interesting for tourists, nothing much to buy, it is selling mostly vegi/fruits, seafood and daily necessities, perfumes and gold jewelry along w a few restaurants. My day visit didn’t leave a wow.

The Avenues is a mall I’ve gone to almost every single Friday since I was 4. It has many areas, sections, stores, etc. It holds itself to a high standard which I absolutely love. It is very clean, accommodating, beautiful, etc. The parking is also great since there are many spots and you’re guaranteed to get a spot, even on the busiest of days. It has entertainment for all kids, teens, and adults which makes it a great hangout place. Overall 5 stars.

This mall has many areas (neighborhoods) that span from high end to standard. The “Grand Avenue” side has many luxurious shops and restaurants, including the new “Fendi Caffe” near the Waldorf Astoria. There’s American style eating like “P.F. Chang’s and Chipotle, and more traditional foods as well. Theres almost a double version of every shop spanning a couple of miles.

Let me tell you a bout a day visit on the first day of Eid al Fitr .
1-The swimming pool area was uncared that the tables and the chairs were vey dusty (some were miserably broken)we had to clean them by the wipes we brought along with us in addition to the floor around where you can see many empty bottles or thrown ice cream cups.
2- The open buffet was not that tasty and with poor variety ,for the price paid it’s shocking not finding drinks or coffee besides …really un fair.
3-disgusting toilets with broken hooks ,and unfixed hand dryers ,nor toilet paper at least.
4- The hotel allowed itself to receive a bunch of Asian “GUYS” who weren’t doing correct things in a place where families with kids are at the same time.
5-the EID program maybe was the best part but the presenter man was a bit silly with me.
It’s a pity to find a place going low, compared to the way it was ten years ago ,to this extent .

Disastrous!
I booked a family iftar and confirmed my reservation on the morning of the same day. On my arrival at their location, i went to reception and asked to give me a table. The receptionist checked and answered there is no table available. I asked him to recheck, but he insisted that it was not available. At the same time, another family approached the reception, and the same answer was given to them. As families continue to arrive, they are rejected by saying the same. In total, around 8-10 families were rejected to get the table, and surprisingly, all of them did a reservation. On getting pressure from families, the receptionist disappeared for 10 minutes. We kept waiting as other people were doing iftar, and the preak of poor ethics, nobody from the hotel staff asked any of us to drink water or break our fast.
Despite, there was no sense of apology from the staff, including the manager, and they were telling you can come another day.
When we insisted, they returned our payment in cash, as it was paid in advance.
The whole scenario took us an hour of argument and debate at the time of iftar without breaking our fast on time along with kids and females.
Iftar buffet has become a business now, and many hotels who don't understand the hospitality business are arranging iftar buffet. Therefore, be cautious to book your iftars, especially when with family or guests.

However, the emergency door between the 2 rooms is not well isolated and you feel like the next room inhabitants are staying with you.

This museum showcases Bahrain's rich history and culture through exhibits on archaeology, customs and traditions, manuscripts, and a replica of a traditional souq. The lower floor displays archaeological finds from ancient Dilmun while the upper level hosts exhibits on the Tylos and Islamic periods.
The Bahrain National Museum provided a wonderful and accessible experience. The exhibits were presented in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
Overall it's a must visit spot if you're in Bahrain

Nice place for all ages to come, see and learn about Bahrain's history. The place is well maintained and spacious. I especially love the culture and traditions section where they have made models of a person's journey from birth till death, the walk through a market with models depicting every profession, the peeling process and the burial mounds.
Nandita V — Google review
It's a beautiful building with great light and a nice restaurant on the first floor. They don't have large exhibits but that makes it nice and manageable to visit. The upper floors have dioramas about the cultural practices of the people and it's interesting. We also liked the sculpture garden.
But first and foremost the people there were very welcoming and kind. One experience in particular was wonderful and will make me have good feelings for Bahrain because of it.
Michelle Mitton — Google review
Came to the museum. It has a lot of replicas and full scale dioramas, rather than a lot of actual artifacts. Not nearly as impressive as the Louvre. I did find the floor in the entry fascinating though. They took an overhead Google Earth photo of Bahrain and imposed it into the floor tiles. Walking along the ground one can simply look down and see the country as if looking at a photographic map. We even found our hotel. If you really like museums, come to see this otherwise it might be something to skip.

Bahrain National Museum offers a glimpse into the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to include Bahrain's role in the pearling trade. The museum is appropriate for all ages and is easy to navigate thanks to all the signs. The interior design is very open and spacious. On a hot day, it's a nice and peaceful venue to relax, decompress and do a bit of learning.
The culture and traditions section is one of the more unique exhibits, where they model a person's journey from birth till death. The walk through a mock up market with life like models depicting every profession is also really neat. There's a separate exhibit that explains why there's all these burial mounds around the island of Bahrain, from the Dilmun civilization.

Just an amazing museum! Definitely a must do, when you are in Bahrain! I’ve seen so much amazing there! Just fully recommend it! 🙌🏼🥰🙏🏽 and I also recommend to book a boats tour, which you can also buy tickets for at the entrance! Cheap and definitely worth it!
5/5 stars for this place/museum and its entertainment/educational aspect!
All of you that go there, enjoy! I just had an amazing day there (for seeing all of it I’ve spent 3h, so it’s a good ‘half-day-trip/experience you should go for)
Cheers 🙌🏼

Interesting museum where you can learn lots of things about Bahraini culture and its history. Awesome for those loving arts as well.
The entrance fee is very affordable and there is an open WiFi at the cafe inside the museum.

It very aesthetically pleasing look for the building and next to the museum the is a art gallery and beautiful arts . Takes nearly 3 hour to fully enjoy the museum. There's a cafe too inside the museum.

A museum that although it does not have many different exhibitions is highly recommended, for me it is a place where you can breathe peace and has an interesting history. Now you can see some other exhibition like the one dedicated to the airport and its history from the beginning… I recommend it because it is a place that you have to visit if you come to Bahrain, the views are magnificent of the sea and you can also see the theater that is wonderful with a very modern design, you also have the sculptures at the entrance that are very interesting to see. There is a cafeteria inside where you can also stop and eat something, the quality is very good but they exceed the prices.
You also have some boat trips to the neighborhood of pearls, definitely I already tell you that I go every two for three because it is a unique space. 🤍 🇧🇭

Yet another super cool place to learn and know more on the heritage and culture of Bahrain. It is well maintained and detailed. A must visit place with family with ample parking space. You can travel to a nearby fort by a speed boat as well by paying extra to the museum ticket.

Impressive complex with wide collection of exhibits delineating Bahrain's history, religion, culture, tradition, life and more. A great place to visit to get the background and overview of Bahrain. There is a map of Bahrain depicted on the ground of the museum which was fascinating. Exhibits are interesting, well crafted and presented.

Such a beautiful architecture and the museum was arranged so neatly. Especially the graves section was set up in a very interesting way. With a high platform for a better view.
There were some digital interactive screens. I tried one which was for kids and it was really interesting to learn about the person age based on the bones on the shoulders.

Bahrain Museum is one of the oldest museum. The floor of the museum have Bahrain map which was kind of cool and unique to see. We got to learn about their culture which is displayed very nicely. They have boat rides which takes you to the Historical sites. They have a cafe inside the Museum which have a nice variety of snacks and drinks.

It was a good trip to this museum. My daughter enjoyed it a lot... especially the boat ride and the tradition and culture section.
Somehow I didn't find it at par with national museum elsewhere. Bahrain has great history with pearls however there displays for pearls were not that captivating.
The restaurant at the museum is good and all staffs are kind and friendly.

One of the oldest and largest public museums in Bahrain, located in the capital city Manama. Here you can watch the history and tradition of the past 6000 years of Bahrain. Museums give us places to think, grow, learn, wonder, and feel. The museum have mainly six sections. Hall of Dilmun Graves.Hall of Dilmun.Hall of Tylos and Islam.
Hall of Documents and Manuscripts.Hall of Customs and Traditions.Hall of Traditional Trades and Crafts. It is a very beautiful place, the ticket rates are very cheap. You can get the tickets at the museum entrance (inside the building). Parking is available near the museum. Inside the museum there is a small restaurant also.

It was indeed a very immersing cultural experience. I was fascinated by everything I’ve seen here especially from well preserved artifacts to marvelously curated contemporary art pieces. The museum also provided an outstanding presentation of ancient civilization and tradition through these human-size figures. My favorite part of the museum would probably be The Hall of the Dilmun Graves. The first-hand experience of seeing the fossils and burial sites was compelling and indeed very different from only seeing it on pictures. I was late to notice that the floor on the first floor depicts the map of Bahrain! On the other hand, the staff of the museum was nice and was giving a lot of smiles! I give it only 4 stars because there were not a lot more to see.

Bahrain National Museum is a good place, but it hasn't changed a bit. The investors or the government should bring in some changes to it. Outside the mesum is a lot of empty land, put that into use, place some more green stuff and make it lively, place some benches, couples, lonely people or even family guys will love to walk or sit there not only during day time but also at night.

I was really impressed with how much work and effort were invested in this museum. You get to see everything from art to traditions and customs in Bahrain. On top of that, the entrance is free! Definitely recommended. It takes around 2 hours to see main things.
Additionally, enter the Café and go outside on the left side and you will see some more statues with nice view behind the museum.
Parking is also free for cars.

Bahrain National museum is the largest and one of the oldest public museums in Bahrain. Located in the capital Manama and was opened in 1988. The museum posesses a large collection of old artifacts, covering over 5000 years of Bahrain's history from Dilmun to pre industrail era.

The Bahrain National Museum stands as a cultural beacon, offering a captivating journey through the nation's rich heritage. From ancient artifacts to contemporary exhibits, the museum seamlessly weaves together the tapestry of Bahrain's history.
The museum's well-curated displays provide a comprehensive understanding of the region's archaeological wonders and cultural evolution.
A unique highlight is the boat ride to the historic fort, an experience that adds an adventurous twist to the cultural excursion. Gliding through the serene waters, the boat journey offers breathtaking views, linking the museum to the impressive fort with a touch of maritime charm.
The fort itself stands as a testament to Bahrain's strategic history, perched majestically against the coastal backdrop. The boat ride not only connects these historical landmarks but also offers a refreshing perspective on the island's geography.
The seamless combination of the Bahrain National Museum and the boat ride to the fort creates an immersive cultural odyssey

I was really impressed with this museum! I didn’t know what to expect when I went but it was full of many interesting and different exhibits.
The Grave exhibit was my favorite. You learn about grave mounds and there’s lots of bones… I also liked the Bahraini life/cultural part. I learned a lot in this exhibit.
FYI: tickets are 1.1BD and make sure to check the hours if you go during Ramadan.
The Al Fatih Grand Mosque is a beautifully designed mosque with a capacity of 7,000 worshipers. It is the most sumptuous mosque in Bahrain and provides a guided tour which is interesting and informative.
It was great! We weren't sure if we were allowed to go in but the receptionist was very welcoming and nice. She helped us choose our abayas, since women were required to wear one going into the temple. It is free to enter and borrow the clothes, and they have a variety of sizes. Children aren't required to wear them but it would show respect to wear attire that doesn't reveal much skin. Shoes are taken off before entering the courtyard. We had a guide that was funny and nice. He explained a lot about what materials were used to build the temple and how they practiced their religion. It was a fun experience and you could take all the pictures you'd want!

This is the largest Mosque in Bahrain. It has beautifully designed and the entrance is free. The mosque is open for everyone, non Muslims and to Muslims. They do have outfit restriction, if you are not following it, they have a room full of abbaya’s and Thobe which can be given free of charge to enter in the Mosque. The only complain is as a Muslim, they didn’t offer any tourist guide to us or even ask which was being offered to non muslim. I really wanted to know the historical background of the Mosque.

Fateh is a large, historical, and beautiful mosque in the center of the island that boasts a list of materials that have come from all over the world. The center will provide cover for those not dressed appropriately and offers guided tours every 30 minutes. The tour is not so much about the mosque but more about Islam in general. Suggested visit for first time visitors in Bahrain.

The Al Fateh Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in Bahrain where Muslims from other countries and locals pray and worship.
Magnificent arabian architecture with a gigantic dome at the top point of the mosque which is worked with fiberglass. Moreover, the floor is made of Italian marble and a perfect chandelier which was brought from Austria. The entryways that add to the excellence of this mosque are made of teak wood from India.
The entry is free and each group of visitors gets accompanied by a center tour guide who speaks set of preferred language. Make sure this place is on your bucket list when you visit the Kingdom of Bahrain.

How do I explain this experience? I'm still in awe of the beauty! From entering down an elevator in a bldg far away from Mosque, to an underground "mall". After you walk through the mall, there are escalators that take you through tunnels to get on the grounds. All throughout the tunnels are pictures of political famous persons that have vital this astounding piece of art! The Mosque itself is built of sheer beauty with thought out precious gems precisely placed within the columns, walls, floors, and decor. It is absolutely breathtaking to visit such a massive piece of art. This is a MUST see day and night! Tip...the Mosque changes colors at night depending on the moons phase. How cool is that??!!

An interesting place to see in Bahrai. For me, the best part of the mosque were the people working at the place. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming here. I also appreciate good English that these people spoke, making it very easy to communicate with the tourists.
To enter the place, women need to be covered. There are some abayas that can be borrowed, so this is not an issue if you don't have some cover of head on your own.
No ticket to enter the place needed.

This is one of the largest Masjids in Bahrain. Located right at the centre of Manama. It was built in 1987 and has a capacity of over 7000 people.
The interior of the building is a mixture of modern and traditional style.
Alhamdu’lillah, I was fortunate to attend the Maghrib prayer and enjoyed the beautiful recitation by the local Imam. There were about 200 people during the prayer.
The atmosphere was very calm and quiet, especially when I was walking outside around the building. Local people were very friendly and welcoming.

The security staff are not professional in dealing with visitors, including the female security from the Bahraini staff. They want the people to be in rush inside the showers and changing rooms. They need to learn a good communication and a better way of speaking with visitors.
Selling prices in the store are expensive ( Sun block creams - life jackets - cell phones water covers..).
You need to bring a life jacket for children under 120 centimeters.

I enjoyed my time at the water park a lot as it was my first experience at it😍!
It’s very amusing, I wish the weather was better(typical Bahrain weather humid & hot), I went from morning hours on a weekday, there was no queues on the slides, thus from 4 PM people started coming, line was quickly moving though.
Life guards were very friendly, they watch everyone, special thanks to the hidden forces!

Its a wonderful weekend place with family. Kids will enjoy playing in water and the adults can test their adrenal levels with free falls and high water slides in this water park. Restaurants inside are not so good and just allow you to get rid of your thirst and hunger immediately, beyond that it’s just an average place as restaurant. The guards are help-full and support the young kids and even suggest and motivate to take the rides ourself. Overall its good to spend a weekend with your family.

It is a nice place to go once in a while with your family. However, the rides are limited and it is way overpriced compared to other water parks in the region.
What's really upsetting to me was the fact that I specifically went to enjoy the "rocket ride" but that ride was closed on that day. I was charged a full ticket but was not informed that one out of I guess 4 adult rides in not operational. That's almost 25% of the rides not working on that day.
Do take your towels, life vest for under age kids and be prepared to pay the full amount for any child above 1.2 m, regardless of his age.
Their will be a very unwelcoming thorough check for your luggage at the entrance and most of your items including the undergarments will be taken out in front of everyone. All this to ensure you are not smuggling any water bottles inside the park.
You will be paying full charge for older people who will be accompanying you, but won't be riding. However, you won't find any decent seats for them to sit and watch their children or grand children have fun.
Overall, the experience is mediocre to say the least. The rides aren't thrilling, but kids under 8 will definitely have a lot of fun.
Don't compare this with wild wadi Dubai or any such water park. Keep your expectations really low, wallet wide open and you just might have a good time.

The Tree of Life is a renowned tourist destination in Bahrain that has stood for four centuries in the harsh desert conditions. It is surrounded by myths due to its ability to survive amidst scorching heat, and it is considered a miracle in the area's history. The site is well-maintained and captivating, with lush green leaves adorning the tree despite being planted in the heart of the barren desert.
Tree of life…it’s part of Bahrain’s history. Still an amazing living thing in middle of desert without any nurturing. Surviving through harsh conditions. Lots of information about the tree online. Please read through before visiting so that you can have a better understanding and appreciate the place. Over the years the authorities have improved things around the tree and also taking precautions to preserve the tree and surrounding because visitors have increased. There is a circle walk around the tree…like a boundary which will give you a different view of angle to the tree because the tree is not located in the center. Around the walk around circle you can see pointers on the ground to other iconic trees around the world. While trying to reach the spot need to drive through dirt road.

One of the best tourist spot to visit in Bahrain. Best suitable time to visit would be evening after 4.30. Spend some quality time with friends and family and relax under the tree... Really it's a miracle to see a tree standing alone in the middle of the desert for such a long period of time, and how it survive all these years. Truly nature does many wonders, and Tree of life is really one among them. 💞💞🌲💕💕

Mysterious survival in the desert !!
The Tree of Life is a mesquite desolate tree that remains in the core of Bahrain's desert for more than 400 years.
Its age and its area unquestionably make this tree a survivor, which is viewed as a surprising regular miracle of the world saw by most who visit Bahrain.
It has come to be known as the Tree of life because of the very reality that the tree remains in the midst of a hot and dry desert with no realized water source taking care of, which genuinely addresses the enchantment of life and the force of nature.
It remains solitary, on top of a high sandy slope, at the most noteworthy point in Bahrain, miles from another regular tree and with no clear wellspring of water. With 32 feet in tallness, it has kept developing regardless of the limit temperatures, absence of natural water, and nutrients.
Rajesh Nair — Google review
Visiting the tree of life is more than just a trip to see a tree. This 400 year old wonder is the epitome of survival, in the most harshest of locations. Your journey there will take you through the Bahraini oil fields. There is really nothing else around the tree to combine with a visit to it. Bring your own food and water as there was no shops around to buy. Definitely worth the visit as it is an 400 years old tree.

We had a wonderful time visiting the tree of life! The drive getting there is cool because you get to leave the city and drive through the oil fields. We went during sunset which was perfect! You should also go to the visitor center because it gives information about the tree/historic findings. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of signs. We left when it was dark and we could not find the road we came in on.

Survival of the fittest! A miracle in the desert, that is a part of Bahrain's Historical places, the tree is approx. 400 years old. Well maintained place!
Although it is not certain how the tree survives, as the climate is too hot! Truly fascinating, a tree with green leaves in the middle of desert.

It's a bit out of the way and you will drive through an oil field along with some dirt roads but it's well worth checking out. It's a tree with some informational walls surrounding it so it's not really an all day attraction but it's certainly worth checking out if you are in Bahrain for a day or two. It was definitely a nice change from the usual attractions and something unique for the area

Let's get one thing straight. It's a tree, and you need to drive nearly 30 minutes to reach it via a dirt road. In short: if you love trees (who doesn't?), it is worth the visit.
I think the journey is more interesting than the destination. The road to the tree is through operating oil Wells. It is fascinating to see an actual oil well right next to the road.
Coming back to the tree, it is fascinating to see such a large tree in the middle of nowhere. Please ensure you don't pull any branches or damage the tree in any way. There is even a guard to protect the tree.

Really and amazing experience.

The tree is not worth your time. It's, well, just a tree in the middle of nowhere. However the trip to reach the tree along all the pipes and petrol pumps is very interesting. Also the set up of for-rent party tents for locals around the tree was a surprising detail. So yes, it was fun/worth coming here but absolutely not for the tree itself but rather for everything else around the tree :)

This is a must visit place in Saudi Arabia. Well maintained tourist spot. There is a small museum explaining the story of civilization. The temperature inside the cave is much lesser than outside. Best time to visit the place is evening. You can see the lighting. There are trekking on Fridays it seems.

It was my first time to visit the place. Glad that we arrived early so the line for the ticket was not long. We enjoyed the place. We shared good laugh there because of various pose we did.
The cave was divided into three areas. The first part was where we were introduced to the history of Saudi Arabia. We were able to receive souvenirs there. The second area showed artifacts about Saudi and the third part was the cave. The cave was cold inside and there were areas inside where there was no signal.
It's a good place to visit. Outside, there's various vendors and restaurants for souvenirs and food. You can dine in or eat there.

Visit to Al-Qarah was a nice experience. We loved it. There is an entrance fee of 50 riyal. They have a nice museum that can give you knowledge into the culture and events of the past. If you are someone who enjoys walking through the passages, who loves a good hike, then this place is for you. You can avail professional photography services here. Also, buy something to mark the trip like dates, handicrafts, etc.

The place has a beautiful rock formations and scenery, it was also known as Judas Cave. The place is not hot when you come inside of the cave. The cave was huge and also good for pictorial purposes. Theres a lot of people visiting the area maybe because we came on the weekend. We enjoy our visit in the area. The ticket price is not that expensive and highly recommended. Its also good to learn the story about the history and visit the place. The place was also properly preserved and clean.

Nice place for every one. Natural formations of nature. Deserve to pay 50 SR + tax to go on. Not as big as I expected. But very exciting experience. The roads leading to the site need improvement. Parking available.

My recent visit to Judas Cave in Al Hassa was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. The cave was breathtakingly beautiful with its intricate rock formations and stalactites. The guided tour provided extensive information about the history and geology of the cave, adding a deeper appreciation for its natural beauty. Overall, it was a fascinating and enjoyable visit that I would highly recommend to anyone interested in exploring the wonders of nature.

The experience is very unique and memorable. The historical presentation of the place was very good and organized. The place is clean. There is resting place, restaurant, coffe shop, souvenir shop as well as mini grocery store for anything you need for the trip to Al Qarah. The entrance fee is SAR 50 and already includes 1 souvenir photo. In case you need additional photo you can also request. The quality of the photo printing and frame is also excellent.

The place is beautiful. It is worth going to for
50SAR for entrance fee and you get to go to the museum then into the caves. But a lesser entrance fee would be better.
There are restaurants before you go to the main are which is good after going through the whole place.

It's very hot outside. And it is very cold inside the mountain. The heart is filled. You have to buy a ticket to go inside. But I didn't like their system. You have to go in groups. If you go alone or less than 10 people, it costs 57 Rials per person and if you go in a group of more than 10 people, you have to buy a ticket at 35 Rials per person.

Excellent place to visit. Parking is ample with plenty of signs to show you where to go. The staff are very friendly with tourist shops inside the reception area. Price was 75 SAR per person which is reasonable. Inside is a short but very detailed history of the area and people of importance from the region. Some nice artefacts are on display. The cave area is amazing and extremely cool once inside. Take some water as you walk round as the walk to and from can be quite hot. Highly recommended.

Al Qarah is a mountain located in the Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. It is known as the ‘Mountain of Whistling Wind’ by the locals as the wind seems to whistle when they flow through the mountain.
I have travelled from bahrain to reach this place. You need to get some tickets for the entrance.
The place is surrounded by few restaurants and tea shops.

The place is quite and nice, the formation of the caves are very pretty. The kids were little terrific because of the dark, however it was very normal.
The price however doesn't justify what we had a look on. Even if you miss it, there wondering be any regrets.. but since it was something to look into hofuf we went for it.

I have been to this place couple of times before, but this was my first time traveling with my family. In the past, you could enter for free. But now there is a fee. Most importantly, i have no issues of fee but it should feel that it is worth paying.
Here is my feedback, I entered at 5pm, but it was already dark. There have been a few changes in the structure, but it's not bad because it's easy for visitors to navigate.
I will not go into the history of this place. however, it has the shape of caves, and it looks great. I recommend visiting this place at least once in your lifetime.
Ticket Price Adults - 50sr + Vat = 57.50sr
Ticket Price Kids - 10sr + Vat = 10.15sr

There’s a mountain and there are caves. It is beautiful, and the place is well lit. Enter the areas further beyond the prescribed path at your own peril. Beware of its beauty and complexity if you decide to traverse further into the darkness of the cave.

Once a secluded place with no surveillance, this is now a tourist attraction with a visitor centre, paid entry, barricaded passages and CCTV monitoring.
The induction of visitor centre has ensured that the place is looked after has basic facilities for tourists (washrooms, food stalls and restaurants nearby).
It's a nice place to take visitors to KSA - they will have a good time taking snaps. There is no information to gather here, just to experience the Caves.
Its amazing to experience nature's habitat - The Caves remain cool during summers and warm during winter (all of this is natural).
A good family outing for people travelling from Dammam-Khobar. It's a drive of 1 hrs 45 mins.
There is a Park nearby and has a musical fountain in evening (closed sometimes tho).
