If you’re going on a road trip from Kiruna to Umea, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with top places to visit like ICEBAR and Nutti Sámi Siida, or the ever-popular sapmiLIFE.
The top stops along the way from Kiruna to Umea (with short detours) are Gammelstad Church Town, Nutti Sámi Siida, and ICEBAR. Other popular stops include Pite Havsbad, Ice road Luleå, and Western Farm AB.
ICEBAR offers a unique experience where drinks are served in glasses made of ice, adding a new dimension to the enjoyment. The bar's ice walls also provide exceptional audio qualities. While the prices for drinks may be relatively high, the atmosphere and the novelty of everything being made of ice compensate for it. Visitors can enjoy their drinks in sustainable ice glasses while taking in the great atmosphere and comfortable seating.
Even cups are made up of ice :-)
Very nice experience

This has to be the coolest bar that I have ever been to. Great atmosphere and plenty of cool places to sit down. All drinks are served in ice glasses made of ice from the nearby Torne River, allowing the colour of the drink to be seen and yet knowing the glasses you hold are truly sustainable.

Sooooo cool to have a very good cocktail in an iced glass 🧊🍸
The place is amazing! Don't miss the exhibition.
Julien Salvi — Google review
Great sculpture ! Must try experience in ice hotel! Pure ice bar! Best in the world! Sipping A champagne or a special cocktail will nicely make to the aurora tour in ice hotel
Goldy Wong — Google review
Great scenery and fun idea with glasses of ice. Unfortunately, that's about all that is positive. There was no bartender for significant amounts of time. When the bartender finally came, it seemed like they didn't care much for their job, standing around looking at their phone. If you are to get anything in there, go for a cocktail or a glass of sparkling wine. I was so disappointed to find out after ordering a beer for myself that getting a glass for the beer (of any type) was a 45kr upcharge.
M. Laugesen — Google review
Great experience - don't miss it! They have 15+ rooms with ice sculptures from various artists across the world. To relax enjoy a cocktail in a 2nd to none ice-glass that's worth the experience on its own afterwards but be aware that it's cold :)

drink IN the rocks
This became our regular spot to hang out while staying at the IceHotel, both for the iconic experience, but mostly for the welcoming kindness of it’s staff.
Johannes was the bartender our first night - not only does he make a delicious cocktail called the “Fish,” but he offered to take us on a private tour of the then in construction Ice Hotel on his day off the following day (which was amazing). The bar tends to be a gathering point for the staff of the hotel and we got to get to know this international group of kind people late into the evening (complete with a game of ‘Name that song’). The chiseled ice-ware ensure a forever chilled drink and the warmth of your mouth and hands personalize it’s shape.

As part of our trip to Sweden we also visited the famous ICE BAR. It's really gorgeous in here. Really EVERYTHING is made of ice!
The only thing that bothers me are the prices for the drinks. It is clear that alcohol is expensive in Scandinavia and that you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket at the Ice Bar. But I find about 12€ for a cocktail that has hardly any alcohol in it and also very small is already very much.
But the atmosphere compensates that again - it's was really beautiful!
Max Weber — Google review
The original Icebar that uses blocks of clear ice, with drilled hole, as glas. Interesting cocktails and nicely decorated. Only dowside was to few places to sit and enjoy drinks since dbeverages only are sold to peoples that already have secured a place to sit, covid-19 requirement.
Recommendation to management to add more iceblocks with rain deer skin since there is space.
Nutti Sámi Siida offers an authentic Sami experience with traditional gahkku and reindeer served in a teepee-like lavvu tent. Visitors can learn about Sami culture through informative signs and guided tours, as well as the opportunity to feed friendly reindeer. The on-site restaurant serves local recipes in a cozy setting, while the museum showcases various aspects of Sami life.
We really enjoed this open air museum! We learned a lot about Sami culture and history. Feeding the reindeer was the best part! The staff were very friendly and informative. The vibe was warm and inviting. We ate the reindeer burgers which were okay. The potatoes were amazing. I would definitely recommend going here if you are in the area!

A local camp attraction. I recommend for the sunset it is kind of 10min far away from the Icehotel.
Paraiso Cindy — Google review
The museum and the reindeer visiting are great.
Previously, the program was richer - reindeer feeding and talking about it.
Poor restaurant service.
So I don't know how much the lunch costs...
I recommend the museum, but not the restaurant.
Jaroslav Vojtek — Google review
The Sami museum is a nice stop of the Jukkasjärvi and the Ice Hotel tour. It is right next to the village church and only a short ride from the Ice Hotel.
Inside, you can get close to the reindeer and have plenty of opportunities to feed them. They are very friendly and gentle. There are various exhibits to show the different aspects of Sami's life, a lot of them are about preserving food and keeping warmth.
The museum is set in a beautiful area so be sure to wander around and enjoy the vast and open view beyond.
Samuel Leung — Google review
Sami experience explaining their history, culture, life style, with replicated buildings and religious statues. There is also a small herd of reindeer that you can meet in their environment and feed.
There is a cafe in a traditional building with an open fire (can get a little smokey) and purchase hot drinks, food.
Located on the Torne River 1km from the Ice Hotel.
Paul Evans — Google review
Wonderful experience to be able to get so close to the reindeer and feed them lichen. We arrived about an hour before closing and there wasn't anyone around to discuss about the sami culture, just some info panels. Not sure if that is the case all the time or just due to the late time, but it didn't feel like much of a learning experience.
Eliza D — Google review
The area isn't big, but we enjoyed the reindeer feeding a lot! They are very cute. The food was expensive, we didn't eat there.
Barbora Beijers — Google review
Great adventure both for adults and kids of all ages. Feeding the reindeers was really fun. Food inside the tent wasn’t not excellent nor bad, just ok. Prices a little too high for food though.
Alin Popescu (aLLin) — Google review
Great experience with the animals. Feeding them lichen too. Our guide was very knowledge, enjoyed this a lot. Great get together with the group after for soup and reindeer meat. All around a central fire. Great
John Day — Google review
Not quite what I expected. It was a bit disappointing, really, except for the ability to get up close to the reindeer and feed them. I had a previous experience meeting the Sami people on a tour in Finland, and it was much better. The other people here seemed to be enjoying their time.
takingalooksee — Google review
It was such a great experience, if you like meat and mushrooms the soup and reindeer main meals were absolutely perfect. The mushroom birch soup was probably the best soup we ever tried :P. The service was excellent and very friendly as well. The offered us some pasta for our kid which was not on the menu and were giving us some tips. Awesome, thank you.
Juraj Petrovic — Google review
Reindeer feeding and the cafe are the highlights here. You can buy bags of lichen to feed the reindeer for 50 krona at the entrance, then proceed into one of their enclosures for a close encounter. The cafe serves local recipes which you won't get elsewhere in a sociable and cosy setting. It does get crowded though, so expect to squeeze into a long table with others.
Otherwise the experience does feel overpriced. The exhibition material is limited to basic written explanations, and it is simply far too cold to stop and read it during winter.
Graham Barry — Google review
Very interesting to be able to learn about Sámi culture and ways of living, always eye opening to learn about our differences as people!
Also very nice the
to pet and feed the deers!
Jacopo Castello — Google review
Amazing place to get warm, grab a bite to eat, and explore Sámi culture. While the reindeer are amazing to see and pet, my favorite part was ordering them from the menu. My favorite meal in all of Sweden was their reindeer pasta.
The head chef, Edwin, is amazing! He was so helpful in making recommendations for food and drinks and made us feel so welcome. Very nice guy and he will make sure you leave full and happy. We came here for lunch every day we were in Jukkasjärvi because it was so good, and we will definitely be back! Tack så mycket, Edwin!
Seth Guillory — Google review
It's a great place to learn about Sami culture with very informative signs and an excellent guide.
You can also have the experience of feeding reindeer which is fun.
Eating in their restaurant is also recommended. There is a blazing wood fire that adds to the atmosphere and is welcome warmth on a cold day.
The food was excellent. The mushroom soup was particularly delicious and both the Arctic Char and the Moose meatballs were very good.
Gary Brazel — Google review
Absolutely love it! very interesting, definitely need to see the move at the end of open air museum next to the reindeers!
Tatjana Laurens — Google review
The place to learn about the Sami culture and scrumptious reindeer food at their restaurant. A tad pricey for entrance to their outdoor museum though.
Kevin Yeoh — Google review
Nice museum to get to know everything about Sami people and of course feed the reindeer! There is also a gift shop and a cozy cafe.
Nice small church with interesting painting . Perfect place to have your quiet time with your creator.

Very impressive wooden old church. If you came in jukkasjarvi you should visit it

A beautiful church in Jukkasjarvi. This is the last stop on the Kiruna - Jukkasjarvi bus route, and an ideal starting point for your Jukkasjarvi exploration. Start at the church, walk down to the Sami Siida adjacent to the property, then walk down to the ice hotel, and take the bus back to kiruna.

Small, pintoresque and very peculiar church

Beautiful from the inside and the outside. The inside is very special, I have never seen a church like this before. The colours which are used for the furniture and pictures are the colours which are typical for the Sami.

Lovely wood architecture. We were lucky to listen to organ concert there.
Only visited for the reindeer ride and my god am I happy I did!!! It was truly truly amazing and a once in a lifetime experience. Everything here is done with love and care. The guide knows the answer to all your questions, you sometimes might even get to ride your own cart and the forest and surroundings are like a movie. Would 500% go again!!

(Translated by Google) It was just great!! Staying in the woodcutter's hut was an experience in itself. We were there over New Year's Eve and agreed that it was the greatest New Year's Eve we have ever experienced.
Dirk (the owner) exudes an uncanny calmness and has come up with a great program for his guests, where you always feel in good hands and are looked after.
If you follow the packing list on the homepage, you are really well equipped. The very friendly team will help you with everything.
The small sauna is an absolute highlight; we were able to shower in it every evening with water drawn from the fountain and then heated on the fire, which we hadn't expected at all.
Overall, very very highly recommended, certainly not just on New Year's Eve.

Väldigt trevlig upplevelse i magisk natur! Trevliga värdar och bra introduktion om hur man körde ekipaget. Välmående renar och det var tydligt att personalen värnade om både renar och deltagares säkerhet. 5/5, skulle lätt göra om detta!
As a moose lover, I was beyond excited to visit this place. It was simply fantastic to be able to see them up close! This is essentially impossible anywhere else. Even at a proper zoo/wildlife park, you aren't going to get this experience.
I've actually been here twice now, so it's really worth a visit, in my opinion!
The man is very friendly and it's so sweet to see his love for these animals. He also took us to see a nearby reindeer herd.
You have to call in advance to announce your visit.

Visited this farm and got to be up close with the moose. It may be possible to kiss the moose if you are lucky. The moose love carrots, bananas and apples. The owner was really friendly and gave us very good explanation about moose. He also told us some short stories about the sami people and culture. Interesting place to visit and learn

Really nice cafe and farm to see the local moose. It's definitely a place to come and see moose up close and personal. The owners are really friendly, and they try their best to answer questions, but their English isn't the best. Overall, I would recommend visiting.

It was a huge honour to meet the mighty Moose Oskar and his companions and to hand them some carrot treats, getting to pat their noses simultaneously.
Taking the reindeer for a little jog was just as delightful.
My favourite part however was the story telling by the owner in his traditional attire. What a fascinating and wonderful culture!
Sara Sophie Hartinger — Google review
It was great to see these amazing animals up close! We fed them mushrooms and learned about them from the (very sweet and fun) owner. Delicious cake and coffee afterwards (50SEK). We were randomly driving by as we saw the sign. We called the number and we could come right away. We are so happy we saw your sign. Thank you!
Nathalie Quist — Google review
Very nice owner and guide. We went around the farm that wasn't so big but see some moose up close, even the babies. It was all worth it to pay the entrance fee of 100 sek/person, considering the chance of seeing moose in the woods/road would be so low.

The must do experience when you are in the north of Sweden! You have to make an appointment to be able to visit. We saw the young calves with their mothers, they were adorable. The owner is a lovely person and really passionate by these animals. He can speak English, Swedish and Finnish.

A lot of momentums and a baby with his mother at this moment.
A little bit expensive for the time you spend. 150kr/adult and 100kr for a child.
You have the possibility to feed them with some plants and they love it !
Have a look inside to read the different description about the momentums.
A must see place in Övertorneå, cheap to get in. Hopefully they will open the doors 2021 again. The owners is a great person.

The most incredible thing is that Holger tells us that approximately 150 units can be started up. There is much else to look at in the museum, mopeds, motorbikes, bicycles, chainsaws and a lot of other stuff. Among other things, a whole room with old clocks of various models. We got a nice guide from Holger, thanks for that. This is a museum you can safely visit several times.

Nice polite bartenders. Food was great and not that expensive. Beer on the other hand was quite expensive. €7,50 for one bottle. I know it's always expensive in Sweden, but this was more than I was used to. For the rest it's a real nice scene to walk through, nice cottages and a good ambiance.

We love coming here, however we're yet to visit when the wild water rapids have been working, do they only work at the weekend? Or do you have to ask to have them on? There was a sign saying they're switched on twice an hour but this never seems to happen. Both hot tubs weren't working either, but there was a sign saying that before you pay. Slides are always fun though!

Very fun and lively place. While best suited for teenagers, anyone can have fun here. The play area consists of 3 water slides, a tunnel with flowing water and a climbing wall. There's also a smaller pool for exercise swimming.
Mikael Eriksson — Google review
Loved this place. There is 3 mid sized pools and a couple of hot tubs. At 95kr it is a bit steep to get in but worth it. There are so many fun elements to the kiddies pool including 2 long fast water flumes and a tunnel with currents that take you around. There is an area with a small rock climbing wall above it and a gateway where you can swim into the outdoor pool. On top of this there is numerous slides and such for younger children. The next pool is adult lane swimming and diving. Then next to that is another I didn't really see. The saunas and changing rooms are large with lots of locker space and if you forgot your swimwear you can buy some at the front desk.
Andrew Baker — Google review
This place whilst being a tad expensive is a great place to spend the afternoon for adults and children alike. There is a pool for the youngsters with several slides and 2 racing slides plus a small rock climbing wall. There is a baby pool and a hot tub. There is a relaxation bubble pool, a youngsters swimming pool, the children's pool leads into a nice outdoor pool in summer. For adults there is a lane swimming pool with a high board and diving board. During the day this also accommodates a small inflatable obstacle course. There is a place to buy food and you can also buy bathing suits, hats, goggles, nose plugs and armbands for the youngsters.
Interesting tour of a former swedish defensive structure, tour lasts about 1,5h. From the mountain top you get a nice view over the town and the other still-in-use barracks. On the large property there also are some additional structures to explore that aren't included in the tour and are free to visit. There's a little caffee where you can buy food and drinks, the owner is very friendly and kind.

One of multiple fortresses purposed to defend Sweden being attached by Russia from the north as late as a couple of decades ago.
Massive view over the Boden territory and there are guided tours every hour during summer.
Unfortunately we didn't have the time to go for one and therefore we didn't get the opportunity to visit the insides of the fortress which was a shame. Definitely on the to-do list.

Bikers be aware of the path taking you down from the top, it’s steep with a sharp turn all covered with loose gravel. The site itself is totally underestimated and could do so much more to add value for visitors. The guided tour is 2 hrs and a shorter version for families would be appreciated!

Gammelstad Church Town, the largest church town in Sweden, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northern Scandinavia that was once a medieval center. Built in 1492, the stone Nederlulea church houses an opulent pulpit and a reredos comparable to that of a cathedral. The site contains 420 wooden houses used by pilgrims during weekend visits and six remaining church stables.

Nice little down to visit.
It has its unique vibe because of its quiet and has similar houses everywhere which is quite cool. Main church itself looks nice and has a really cool viking era roof on it which impressed me a lot.
If you are nearby, then definitely go and visit this place. You can park your car or caravan easily just outside of the center area along side graveyard and take a short walk from there to see the houses and church.

Beautiful place full of history and traditions. I was so happy to get there and get to know a little bit more about the Swedish culture.
I was on a Saturday and there was a 2nd hand market. If you don't have a Swedish bank account you will have to pay in kash.
There are no many good places to have lunch (just fast food a bit expensive) but we had a coffe and a delicios peace of cake in the old village, leaving the big church behind you. I recomend to get there.

The rows of red wooden houses, with their snow-covered roofs and chimneys puffing out smoke, create a picturesque scene that is straight out of a fairy tale. But we visited on Christmas and it was not very crowded. The town is quiet and serene during the winter months, and the only sounds are the crunch of snow underfoot

Scenic church village. Didn't visit the church because both times we tried there was a funeral taking place (two different funerals). Nevertheless, there were some activities (for families) happening at the open air museum and had the opportunity to see some folklore scenes from Swedish peasant life like bread making, and blacksmith works.

Very cute little town which is easily reachable with a nice bycicle ride from Lulea. There are many beautiful old building which are in a perfect state and there are information signs at different locations. The highligh definitly is the beautiful church which looks majestically from the outside but was unfortunatley closed when I was there. Walking through the city, reading signs about the ast and listening to music was really a pleasue. But be aware that outside of the mainseason the café's are mostly closed and there aren't any shops.

Kulturens Hus in Lulea is a stunning architectural masterpiece that adds immense value to the city. Both its interior and exterior are beautiful and it serves as a hub for various activities. It houses a library where visitors can enjoy free WiFi with their library card, a concert hall, meeting spaces, and a restaurant that offers delightful meals. Additionally, there is a cafe by the entrance where you can also access the library's WiFi. The building even has an underground parking garage for convenience.
People at the Tourist information centre there are very kind and helpful.

Beautiful building, both inside and out - a very positive contribution to Luleå. Library (get free WiFi with the library card), concert hall, meeting spaces, restaurant that is pretty good, a café by the entrance (the library WiFi works there, too). A parking garage underneath the building Both thumbs up for Kulturens Hus - and the architect bureau Tirsén & Aili as well!

Luleå Cathedral (Swedish: Luleå domkyrka) in lulrå Sweden, serves the Diocese of Luleå and the local Church of Sweden parish, Luleå Cathedral Parish (Luleå domkyrkoförsamling).
There were a total of two churches built on the site of the current cathedral. In 1667 the original wooden church was demolished and a stone church was built instead. However, on June 11, 1887, the church burned to the ground. Two years later, the church council decided to rebuild the church and on June 11, 1889, the cornerstone was laid. The church was built on the designs of Adolf Emil Melander. It was consecrated in 1893. The church was originally named Oscar Fredrik Church (Oscar Fredriks kyrka), after the King Oscar (Fredrik) II. It became a cathedralwhen the Diocese of Luleå was created in 1904.

The third church built at the same spot, Luleå Cathedral - built in neo-Gothic style after the 1887 devastating city fire - is definitely one of the very best known landmarks in Luleå.

We celebrated Sweden’s National Day there having an afternoon tea and listening to a musical performance by Ellen Wikberg.

A very nice museum to visit, esp. with kids! The older "kids" will get more excited at the 3rd floor with the flippers from 70's, some of them pretty functional!
Aris Louvris — Google review
The expositions in each floor are very disconnected. The first floor was about cows, the 2nd about the prehistory focused in the Norrbotten area but it was too technical to follow and 3rd one about art.
Limited English material, mainly Swedish and Finnish.

Small exhibition with some artifacts. There is some art and a little English information. It’s ok because it s free, hüt it’s nothing special. Especially when you’ve been at another „local“ museum of a city which lies north of Stockholm (they mostly have the same things in their exhibition). Everything I saw could have easily been displayed in a video.

Temporary activity starting in January/February of every year until the ice starts to melt. There is around 10 km of ice track, that is cleared from snow. Most time there are two "streets" parallel, one is completely clear to skate or use one of the free kick sleighs waiting on the sides and the other is with a bit of snow, so you can walk there even without spikes. The ice thickness is checked regularly by the city.

An incredible place to do ice-skating on, we rented ice skating shoes in a nearby outdoor activity store, which make this activity available to anyone (and I recommend it)
Maverick Hannoun — Google review
It's one of the most amazing place in which I have ever been. It is an ice road "built" on the sea around Luleå, opened from January/February to April, depending on the weather conditions. The Luleå municipality keeps care of it, cleaning it from the snow and smoothing the ice. It also organize a lot of events on the ice, for example an ice skating competition, dog sledge tours and BBQ on the ice!
On the ice road you can do ice skating (sometimes you can borrow the ice skates in the southern Harbour), have a BBQ, use the sledges (provided by the city) or just walk towards the small island of Gråsjälören (in the weekends there is a small waffle house on the island, where you can warm yourself having a waffle or a reindeer meat sausage with a warm cup of coffee/tea), just ten minutes from the southern Harbour be foot.
I really suggest to visit the Isbanan in Luleå, it's something that everyone should try in its life!
And by the way, the ice road is a good place where to spot the Northern Lights and live them in their entire power!
Wonderful typical Swedish restaurant, excellent and will food, buffet of desserts and chocolates. Delightful staff. SUPER RECOMMENDED!

Really nice little farm/cafe/restaurant. They serve some nice food and you can pet the horses. They have lots of animals and areas for the kids to play.
Warmly recommended.

Had Christmas buffé here with work, and it was magical. The food was all homemade and most of it locally produced. The owners really put a lot of work into the place and the surrounding environment. The restaurant and conference part used to be a stable, now renovated and really charming with old stone walls and the carrying roof balk till intact.
They also have a lot of activities, both for children and grownups. You can go ride in a horse waggon, there's a hot tub, smaller cabins for rental, conferences spaces available for meetings, with possibility for food, and other stuff. In the summer they also have a cafe.
Would really recommend the place to anyone

Was a nice Husky dog sledging ride on the lake and surrounding area. Huskies were very excited to go out running, and followed instructions well. Over all jacket and boots were provided to protect against cold wind (included in the cost). Caisa was friendly and professional.
Anitha N — Google review
Went in February 2023. The family-owned business seemed welcoming, located in great nature with a friendly hostess and a nice home-cooked meal after the tour.
We did the 2-hour tour and drove our own sled.
However, instructions were very brief and barely demonstrated on the sled, which led to an incident of my partner failing to brake hard enough and getting kicked out of the sled on the first turn.
The host, who was following on a motorbike, picked him up then yelled at him for two minutes straight without even checking if he was ok after falling in the snow. “It was your fault, you should do as you’re told!! Next time you go home.”
While the host’s concern for the dogs is understandable, it is no excuse to treat visitors so poorly.
As it happened in the very beginning, this negative incident overshadowed our entire experience and mood, despite our efforts to make the most out of it.

(Translated by Google) Small museum with a good insight into the history of Pitea and the region around this port city. The staff is nice and entry was free - the museum received five points due to free entry. Due to its size and the small number of exhibits and the lack of English-language descriptions, it would otherwise only receive four points. But it's definitely worth a visit, as there are few alternatives in this direction in the "paper city" (except of course the very good boat museum).

So far so good, really exceeded my expectation, last night's dinner was perfect and I'm looking forward to this evening's meal. I'm so glad we went down early for breakfast it gave us plenty of time to eat before the dinning area started filling up. The room is nicely laid out and spacious again exceeded my expectations. Reception area is massive and extremely well kept.
So far we have only managed to go swimming once but I'm looking forward to having 3 kids all tired and sleepy this evening after dinner.

Stayed in the hotel. Nice rooms with balcony and view of the beach. Activities all over for kids and adults. Only downside was the live music at night from the spa right across from our room made it a little difficult bedtime for young children so worth checking your room location if you have small children. Otherwise it would be very nice to sit out and enjoy the music!

It could have been a lot better. The race was fine, but hospitality was poor to say the least! It was exclusively available to VIPs. Not a chance to get a worm drink indoors and of course a paid one not for free! And in the freezing weather of that day this was really ugly!

A relic of a bygone era.
The mecca of the 90s Eurotrip, and where RV and waterpark dreams were born.
And potentially where they've gone to die as well.
However despite some hard times, Pite Havsbad has quite unexpectedly had new life breathed into it, and are doing a great job of slowly but surely updating all of the facilities. Most notably a very fine face-lift to the main building and restaurants attached.
The indoor water park is still a great time for the whole family, and there are plenty of music events to come check out in the summer.
Overall a nice stop and they're doing a great job of modernizing for the next generation of families who want a chill vacation spot.

An ok campsite If you want to be packed in like sardines and listen to teenagers play rubbish bass music whilst doing laps in their cars.
We had an issue on the way to the campsite which delayed us 1.5 hours, we tried to call them to check if we could arrive after 10pm and gave up after being on hold for over an hour.
The services are thankfully ok seeing as you're paying 500sek per night for cramped pitches. This campsite is a lot better out of season, but I don't think we'll be back during high season.
The indoor swimming pool is very expensive considering what you pay for the pitches, however the soft play is reasonably priced.
WiFi is obviously useless when the site is so busy.
We also paid for a premium view, we had a lovely view of the sea..... If we looked through the awning of the pitch in front of us.
Most of the staff are young, seasonal staff and you can very much tell.

I attended the ROC event here and the facility did an amazing job. The hospitality of the staff was top notch. Honestly, the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever met and I’m sorta old. One person was especially nice, Cajsa was especially kind. I arrived late to a dinner from a badly delayed flight and she found food for me. The next night she brought our table her favorite dessert. The next morning she was at the front desk. Great place.

Bonnstan in Skelleftea is a well-preserved church town dating back to the 16th century, established during the Protestant reformation in Sweden. This kyrkstad was built to accommodate parishioners who lived too far from the church to attend services on a day trip. With 114 dark buildings housing 376 rooms, Bonnstan offers a fascinating glimpse into this historical practice.

One of the most fantastic easily accessible lighthouses in northern Sweden. Situated in a national park, on the highest top of a cape south of the city of Skellefteå, giving you a stunning view all around the horizon.
One unique feature is the pilots house built on the eastern side directly to the lighthouse. You can rent this for a modest cost, and live there for a day or more.
Here the pilots watch out and the lighthouse keeper had their offices, the lighthouse keeper double as a weather observer reporting to the National Swedish Weather Service (SMHI) every third hour day and night, 365 days a year. Nowadays both the lighthouse and the weather observations are automated.
The lighthouse also serves as one of the reference points spread around the world for calibration of the GPS system.
