Our host was excellent but the place was freezing cold. Might be good craic in warmer temperatures but was too cold to enjoy the night

Love the stadium and staff are very friendly. I wouldn't go back to the restaurant. The menu needs to be improved and you still get charged entry fee even when using the restaurant which is very disappointing

Watching the racing very good and well commentated and good tote odds, restaurant major disappointment .....food was not properly cooked and very over priced ....staff in restaurant not the friendliest, we did not complain but know we will never go back to eat there. The table and view was brilliant just so disappointed with food and food service.

A great night with great food and outstanding service from all staff.
Retailer offering classic clothing, handbags & accessories from the designer brand.
Michael Kors showroom in the Kildare village have good collection of apparels. There is good discount on all the products. The staffs are very helpful. The place is very crowded in the weekends. One of the reason is good quality products and discounts. Kildare village have frequent connectivity to city centre through bus and have a big parking space if you are coming by car.

The last couple of times iv been in this store i was looked after by the same girl , she maybe a Manager ? I didn’t catch her name but she will know herself when i say i was looking for a t-shirt because i sprayed bleach on one that i had. Just want to mention she was very engaging and went out of her way to get some t-shirts for me to try , she had a lovely way with customers. … Thanks again.

Brilliant service there today from an Asian girl, sorry to describe her this way but didn't get her name.
she informed me of offers that I was not aware of after talking to another staff member.
She was on the door when I returned and
recognised me straight away and let me in. Superb staff member 👏👌

Very unfriendly staff.
The Chinese girl treated us badly at the entrance, shouting to us. Promised to get inside the shop in less than 40min, waiting 1h15 min and didn't get in.
I am so disappointed with the staff service.
There were more people complaining at the time.

Stallion-breeding stud farm, plus formal Eastern- and rugged Irish-style gardens, plus horse museum.
If you love horses, and beautiful gardens, then this is the place for you. Stunning setting, beautifully presented, and just so much to see. A picture around every corner you turn. If you have a thing for horses, you will love this even more, as there are horses, horses, and more horses everywhere. It is very well priced, the food is a bit pricey, but absolutely fantastic. All In all, a highly recommended experience.

Pristine facilities with lovely grounds to walk about. Interesting view into life on a stud farm. The Japanese gardens are small but well maintained with careful attention to detail.
There is a small gift shop for memorabilia and a nice restaurant with a good choice of food. Plenty of parking available when we went. Well worth a visit.
John Blain — Google review
Amazing experience! Japanese gardens are beautiful. We chose to go with guided tour of grounds and it was a great experience. Tour guide was amazing and friendly. Race course experience was new and exciting activity for me ,especially the actual race at the end. Overall a great day out. The only downside if any is how restaurant is organised. There is a huge hold up at the till . Other than that, its a place everyone should visit.
Rasa Ievkalne — Google review
A fabulous layout, the gardens are intricate and interesting. There are lots of fun surprises in the layout of the Japanese gardens too, we had small children with us and they were safe and able for all the steps and climbs. I would say some of it isn’t suitable for prams or wheelchairs but a lot of the grounds are. The plant diversity was wonderful. The food in the cafe on the grounds is more dinner food, it is quite expensive but the portions are big and the food is well worth it. The staff are polite and the cafe and grounds are very clean.

I went into this knowing very little about what to expect and this was wonderful! Harry gave us a little tour that was so much fun! We learned the history and about the horses. Next we did the racehorse experience and had a blast. We were able to walk around and see the foals that were in the fields. We ended with the Japanese gardens which were gorgeous! Definitively worth the visit.

Superb day out.
First time here. Our guide Sue was excellent. Great stories well paced. Very amusing. .The interactive experience was really great. . The Japanese gardens were excellent and we got a warm sunny day. We at e in the restaurant which was excellent but a little bit pricey. (9.00 euro for a sausage roll ,chips and a side salad) but the staff we very helpful and friendly.
Everything was spotless and clean toilets always a good sign.

What a gem! Perfect for horse and flower lovers of all ages. The tour was the perfect length with excellent information and humor. We even got to see and pet "Tommy the Teaser". Seeing all of the horses in their paddocks was amazing. Surprisingly laid back about walking the grounds. Lovely gift shop and cafe. The Japanese gardens were quite extensive. Beautiful flowers and layout. I feel like for the price of admission, you definitely get your money's worth!

Fantastic experience. We were here for 2 hours but could have spent several more. The horse experience is the best I've ever seen. David gave us an amazing tour and it's great to visit at this time of year with all of the foals. So much to see and do here and the history of the stud is very interesting. 👍👍

Lovely place, both the gardens and the stud are well worth your time. The garden is beyond stunning and I highly recommend timing yourself to get one of the guided tours, it's well worth it. Puts the whole place into perspective. Very friendly and helpful staff. I've been a few times but this was my partners first trip.

An excellent trip out....Brilliant for the kids whether the kids or yourself are into horses or not. Beautiful landscaping and walks around the paddocks with one of the creamiest 99 ice creams I've had in a while. The Irish Horse Racing Experience is a. Excellent tour of Ireland and our love affair with the Sport of Kings. Kids were totally bowled over with the foals. The Japanese Gardens are beautifully serene and very soulful....Well worth the money

A beautiful place to visit for a walk or a day out with the family. Amazing gardens, and you also get to see fabulous houses in stables and out in the paddocks. The playground for children is safe and has loads to amuse, including sandboxes.
The gardens offer a feast for the eyes and are a place of zen and calm.
Finishing off your day in the restaurant where they serve wholesome dinners, sweet treats, and the best coffee ever!
I've become a yearly ticket holder because I love it so much, and it's great value, but you can also pay on the day.
A must see if u visit Kildare

Had a lovely time wandering around. There were two foals born the day before, which was nice to see. There is a lovely Japanese garden and a fairy trail for the children to follow. Also a play area and somewhere to eat and a gift shop.

We were lucky enough to fit this in before our trip to the airport and I wish we'd had 2 or 3 more hours. It is an incredible facility. The animals are clearly well looked after. We missed the gardens because I lingered too long in the interactive experience and visiting the horses :)
There were lots of babies and moms as they haven't been weaned yet this time of year. The weather was gorgeous which made for an even better experience.
The food was good and they had plenty of gluten free options.
Our baby even got to pet a million dollar retired race horse (exercising caution of course) he LOVED it.
Incredible to see. Highly recommend.

It was quick getaway for the bank holiday weekend. Typical Irish weather with rains, but I must say we really enjoyed our visit.
Saw the stallions and the stud farm. Japanese Garden was my favourite. It was truly an adventure walking though the garden. It is well designed and laid out.
Will recommend for a nice family outing.

This was a great experience. We paid extra for the guided tour and Japanese gardens along with the horse riding experience.
Katie was a great tour guide and a lovely girl! The tour was fantastic and we learnt a lot.
The horse riding experience was so much fun, and I'd highly recommend it!
The Japanese gardens are lovely, and there's loads of hidden paths around it.
Overall, the whole day was fantastic, and I'd recommend it for a family day out!

Well worth a visit. I highly recommend joining a tour if you can, as it was very informative and interesting. Lovely grounds to walk around and plenty to see to keep you occupied for a couple of hours. If you are going with children, then the interactive museum ticket is a good add-on. The cafe was really good - the soup I had was absolutely delicious!
The Cavan County Museum is a hidden gem, located in Ballyjamesduff. It showcases the history of the region, including a replica of a trench from World War I. The museum also features a peaceful reflection garden and informative exhibits that provide insight into the hardships endured by service personnel during the conflict. The staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, making it an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Ah just the fact it's in Ballyjamesduff is worth a visit alone. We loved the World War trench experience is a must and the reflection garden so peaceful. A lovely addition to outside. So much to read about and learn about. Somewhere to go when you are discovering Cavan.

A place I always wanted too visit but with all things C - related I couldn't until now. The WW1 trenches can be eerie especially on your own just imaging life back then in them.
Inside the museum, its well decked out! And you wont feel the hours fly by.

A brilliant resource for the whole region. The staff could not have been more helpful. We came here to see a specific item and the curators fetches floces, opened a display case and allowed us to handle the object which my great, great, great grandfather wore. Awesome experience.

Waze took me into someone's house, better look out for signboards. Worth dragging the kids on the 1 hour trip from Dublin. Small but well organised museum. Covers history of English occupation, Cromwell's invasion and story of Lough Oughter Castle. Each room in the museum has a specific theme, like life in the convent, artefacts and a lot on the was of independence. A lot packed in a small place. The main attraction of this museum is the replica of ww1 trench. The trench is worth the visit to the museum. We covered the museum in about 90 mins but definitely need more time to read everything.
Nee Shen Ho — Google review
This is a well kept secret. Absolutely amazing experience especially the trench which gives an idea of the hardship endured by service personnel on both sides of the conflict. It's really well worth a visit. The staff are wonderful as well, thanks Patrick 😁

Amazing museum in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan. There's something in the museum and outside grounds to keep eveyone interested. There are great displays on Gaelic football, Camogie, ancient Irish artefacts, life in a World War 1 trench, Irish Independence and rural Cavan life. The exhibitions are based on 3 floors and outside in the grounds at the back. Wheelchair users were visiting the same day that I was there and were able to use the lift to access each floor. You'll need to allow at least an hour to get around the exhibitions. The museum has a lovely cafe serving coffee and snacks, a good shop, toilet facilities and free parking. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant, I left my money in the cafe and one of the staff found me to return it.

This was a highlight among a week of highlights on our Ireland trip. We had most of this place to ourselves and the passion and emotion in much of Ireland's history was palpable. Great cup of coffee too!

I've been a few times now and it's a great museum. It's a gem in Cavan. So worth the visit. The trenches and gpo are fabulous out side the back.

The museum presents a large piece of Irish history ... here we can see how bravely Irish soldiers fought, you can see various stuff and costumes that have accompanied people for centuries. The building is surrounded by a garden. Each piece the museum takes us back into the past.

Fantastic place to visit. Wonderful and informative exhibits of modern irish history and an outdoor representation of a WW1 trench. Took a few hours to get through everything and could have spent more time here if I could. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will make a return visit before the year is out. (6 stars if I could give it)
Mal Whelan — Google review
My second visit to the Cavan County Museum, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first visit. The WWI Trench Warfare installation was open this time, though only about half, it looked like. It was still interesting and informative about what the soldiers would have experienced in the trenches. The indoor museum is amazingly thorough and two visits aren’t enough to take it all in. This visit the top floor has a new exhibit about the Irish War of Independence, and there is so much history, pain and eventual triumph, though many years before peace.
Here are just a couple of photos of the archeological exhibits that are so fascinating.

Virginia Rd, Kilmore, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan, A82 YP70, Ireland
Loughcrew Cairns, located in North Meath, Ireland, is a collection of Neolithic burial chambers dating back to around 3300 BCE. While not as famous as Newgrange, these ancient passage graves are a must-see for anyone interested in Ireland's ancient history. The site features clusters of megalithic cairns on the Slieve na Caillaigh hills, with public access to Carnbane East where Cairn T is the main attraction.
The history and view are well worth the long long walk up hill to this amazing place
John Ginder — Google review
I realize how out of shape I'm in when you take this walk up the steep hill to experience this awesome place. It was worth the walk up. The burial mounts was impressive. I could understand why this spot was used for putting your love ones ashes to rest here. The surrounding views of Ireland and the mountains beyond, even a lake, was seen from this location. All this happened many, many centuries ago. It's worth seeing if you have some extra time on your hands!
Bob Morris — Google review
The loughcrew cairns are an amazing site. Entry between working hours will get you a private tour for free. It is an incredibly steep hill in places, so make sure you wear the right footwear and rain jackets.
Stephen McElligott — Google review
A long climb, but well worth every step! It's just a breathtaking view and a very spiritual experience. I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful sight!
Amy Durant — Google review
Definite must see to experience Ireland's ancient east . Megalithic cairns on hills around the area. Stunning views taking in many counties from the top . Glamping/camp site nearby. The hill leading to the main site is very steep so something to consider if you are taking small children or the elderly. Recon first.
Montablan Films — Google review
A bit hard to find but do not miss this site. The walk up to the top takes at least 20minutes. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to see it all. Take a rest halfway up, it is not too strenuous. We are 70 and made it. We'll worth the effort. The view on a clear day is incredible.... one can see for 50 miles easily.
I think this is better than Tara. Don't pass this one up. You will thank me, I promise. Oh, there is good parking and it is all free. Bring a camera.
tom walrath — Google review
A stunning location. Knew so little about it, one of Ireland's best kept secrets.
It is a healthy uphill walk to reach it.
Tomas Toal — Google review
My husband, aunts, and I went to Loughcrew on our holiday to Ireland. I was glad I packed some tennis shoes (I’m normally in flip flops) for the hike up to the top. It was somewhat physically challenging since it seemed like we were going straight up, but the view was worth it. We poked around a bit until it was time for the tour, and we really enjoyed learning from the guide. Would definitely do it again.
Chastidyi Parrott — Google review
It's a somewhat steep walk up to Loughcrew Cairns in County Meath, but there's a 360 degree view from the site. The cairns are 5,000-year-old Neolithic passage tombs and are considered one of the "big four" of Irish megalithic sites, together with Carrowkeel, Carrowmore, and Brú na Bóinne. According to legend the cairns were created when a giant witch, striding across the land, dropped her cargo of large stones from her apron.
The complex is spread across three hilltops, Carnbane East, Carnbane West, and Patrickstown. Cairn T (Carnbane East) is the best preserved and most accessible tombs at Loughcrew and is the central tomb of the whole complex. It faces the rising sun at the spring (March) and autumnal (September) equinoxes, which shines through the passage to illuminate the back wall of the chamber.

Very nice place. A lot of greenery around. We were told thereare free tours at the top but when the tour was supposed to start no tourguide showed up. Also, you can't climb on the top of the biggest cairn since it's unstable.

Moderate hike up to gorgeous views. These passage tombs are thousands of years old and there is a bit of information at the site. However we recommend a guided tour to get the most out of it. Very much worth it!

Awesome megalithic site. It's a bit of a trek up the hill but great views of the countryside when you get there.

Cold and extremely windy the day we went. Be prepared to hike. A little hard, but worth the hike once you reach the top. Great tour and experience to see the burial mounds and to listen to the history behind it.
Newbridge Silverware houses a stylish visitor centre comprising of a homeware and jewellery store, a restaurant, and a fashion museum. The store provides an immersive browsing experience with an extensive selection of gorgeous Christmas tree decorations making it the perfect place to find unique gifts for loved ones. The staff are always welcoming, and the cafe is highly recommended for those looking to grab a bite. Upstairs in the museum of style icons, visitors can marvel at iconic fashion pieces from past eras.
Their museum of style icons is very interesting. Clothing and ephemera of famous people on display.
Their ‘pre loved’ antiques (NOT their products I might add) department is a bit of a joke with prices so high, items are 5 to 10 times the price compared what you’d buy the stuff for on auction websites!
Andre Devereux — Google review
The only people who want to be here is the older demographic going bananas over the prices of items here. I’m pretty sure the staff are pretty much done and ready to push everything online so they don’t need to engage the masses.
One point less for the creepy Xmas themed area and the green handed mannequins looking like the grinch. In June.
Maybe I just don’t get this one…

A lovely afternoon tea, but I didn't have an option to make any changes. My booking was taken over the phone and I wasn't asked did I want to make any changes. I was stuck with what we got ok the day. So, if you go please tell them what you do and don't eat.
Lovely food, but I found the portions small. We were actually hungry after. A lovely room and a nice idea to do, but don't go if you are already hungry!!!
Also, take out the scribbled bit on the note in the table and just rewrite it. Keep the standard up.

Lovely place. Upmarket. Lovely items on sale. Nice restaurant attached. Free exhibition upstairs. Best time to visit is late January or early February for the sales. Impressed by the tributes to long-standing emplyees. Newbridge appreciates its staff.
Nice place, really friendly staff. Was a cold November day but still a nice place to visit. A good mix of animals, playgrounds and a nice walk around a small wood. Plenty of places to sit down for picnics if you bring your own food or a coffee shop to buy stuff with toys for the kids to play with. Do parties as well which looks nice.
Also went back for a nice sunny day in may, great place for the kids to run around and more fun with the big playground/ obstacle course dry.

This was our first visit to Wallaby Woods. It's not widely signposted but it is easy to find on Google Maps. Have a care on the roads nearby as they are bog roads and can be quite bumpy in places. Wallaby Woods itself deserves to be much better known than it is as it's probably the best attraction in the area for children. We spent over five hours there with my nephew's, they particularly enjoyed the bouncy castles and the zip line. The grounds are very well cared for, as are the animals, some of whom you get to hold. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The food in the cafe is reasonably priced and very nice. If you're looking for a place to keep the kids occupied for an afternoon then I would not hesitate to recommend Wallaby Woods, you won't be disappointed.

Additionally, delicious ice cream is provided as part of the package.

This year 2023 was the perfect location to see Santa ❤️❤️❤️ 🎅🎅🎅🤶🤶🤶🧑🎄🎅🎅. Very well organised event around the farm, the guide was polite and very entertaining as well. Each stop brings you to a different room, animal shelter, elfs gaming's room, Santa wife's Margaret room, Santa bedroom, and finally you are going to see Santa revealing himself in a big and innovative way. Kids were very excited 🎉🎉🎉🎅🎅🎅. You have your chance to talk with Santa and take some professionals pictures as well, and if you are a good kid you will receive a present as well. Highly recommended. A coffe shop is also in the premise. Recommended 👍👍👍

Went here for the Christmas experience and honestly we were blown away by the whole experience. We brought our 2 year old son. You can imagine how tiring it must be for the staff but they were excellent from the first lady that greeted us all the elfs and santa. Will be back next year

Wonderful experience. I brought our 2 young children alone as my husband was working. The staff were amazing and helped me out so much. The whole experience was a delight. I recommend it for all the family. Our daughter was beside herself with excitement the entire time and was talking about it for days after. We will hopefully make this an annual event and we can get the Santa photo sorted as well. Thank you for putting more magic in our Christmas build up. 👍

Fantastic time spent here with the family. Every visit is better than the last. Plenty to explore here and the coffee has improved something fierce. Surrounding woods full of things for kids to explore and there is a very solid path which is buggy friendly. River too which is full of wildlife. Saw a red squirrel here for the first time too. Definitely visit here every few months. 10/10

We were in the area doing ancestry research and our Airbnb hostess recommended that this park and this forest would be a great place for an afternoon walk.
This is such a magical and special place for a tribute to a local girl. We explored and took so many photos to remember our visit. We loved the fairy name plaques on the trees around the forest.

A lovely place, particularly for small kids. Quite small but definitely fairy themed. Spend 30 mins with the kids running around then have a look at the lake. The coffee shop was closed when we visited.

Great for kids, lovely scenery with a lake and walkways from 2 to 7 km. And it's free. Nice story behind it ❤️
The three high crosses here plus one more in town are an absolute must see for anyone interested in church history and spirituality. These are the iconic high crosses in many brochures of Ireland and so see them right up close is remarkable.
Adrian van Breda — Google review
Thanks to the book that bears its name, Kells is probably the best known of the Gaelic monastic sites. The book is not here and all that remains here is a churchyard with a few towers, a couple of high crosses and a locked church.
The carvings and inscriptions on the crosses are interesting
Fergal Jennings — Google review
Visiting on Bank holiday weekend. Interesting old headstones and High Cross's. Very little information a available on site which is unusual considering this is where the Book of Kells originated from.

Better than expected. Not the original church or spire next to it but the round tower and crosses are.

Erwin “DroneBoy” Boydens — Google review
Very cool place. There are several large crosses and they're way cool. The big tower is cool too. The side entrance was closed but we just followed the wall down the street and found another entrance.
There were no tour buses when we went but there were parking spots for them. I imagine this place gets super busy in the summer months so keep that in mind.
It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
Tommy Price — Google review
It's a very quiet, quaint little church with some typical Irish crosses. There's no guided tours and not as much to see as other places such as Trim Castle or The Hill of Tara. Definitely not a must, but a nice place to stop by. The town of Kells is tiny but very nice.
Trim Castle, located in Ireland, is a well-preserved medieval fortress and the largest Anglo-Norman fortification in the country. Originally founded by Hugh de Lacy in 1173, it was destroyed by Ruaidri Ua Conchobair within a year but was later rebuilt around 1200 with little modification since then. The castle served as a shooting location for the movie 'Braveheart' and has interpretation panels on its grounds.
The castle is beautiful and free to walk around the ruins. There are guided tours as well to the inside of the castle. There are no rooms inside but the guide tells you interesting historical facts about life in the castle, famous residents in the town and about battles, etc. The tour goes up to the bastion where you can enjoy the sight. It is interesting and funny. Trim itself is a lovely little town with friendly people and nice cafés and restaurants.

Unfortunately, we missed the chance to do a tour of the keep as the next was scheduled several hours after we arrived at the site. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the grounds and there are several informative plaques near each structure detailing the early medieval history. The sunlight being diffused by cloud over made the fall colors and green grass more vibrant than ever! Gorgeous views!

On Saturday, we toured a splendid Castle that has been meticulously preserved without any embellishments. The castle is set amidst delightful surroundings, offering pleasant strolls around its premises and along the picturesque river Boyne. Entry to the grounds is free, while a €5 fee provides access to a 45-minute guided tour of the castle's interior. We opted for the guided tour, which proved highly informative and comes highly recommended. Our guide, Margaret, possessed extensive knowledge and skillfully painted a vivid picture of life in and around the castle. Any notions of romantic Anglo-Norman knights, enchanting maidens, and idyllic peasants were quickly dispelled. Margaret made sure to engage both children and adults in the group. However, it's worth noting that the interior of the castle can be challenging for those with limited mobility due to numerous winding staircases intentionally designed to restrict access. The castle grounds are dotted with informative notice boards providing insights into the castle complex and surrounding structures. This visit is definitely worthwhile, especially for history enthusiasts, but be sure to allocate ample time for your exploration.

A significant and massive piece of Irish History well worth the visit. A guided tour with the very knowledgeable and witty guide Brenda were very well spent 5 euro. Trim itself is a very charming place and its several church ruins are also worth the walk all the way to the eastern side of the town.

Great piece of history, super windy, beautiful early medieval ruins, more then one to see. Don't bring strollers and make sure your children are ready to go up many narrow stairs. Guide was excellent and some beautiful drawn cards and poster to sell of the Castle's early glory. Wonderful city with plenty to do and lots of commerce.

My favorite castle in Ireland!! Our first stop and a fantastic place to visit. Easy access and parking, lots of little cafes nearby, and beautiful grounds. Its well maintained and has amazing employees working here! Its free to see the grounds but i recommend taking the tour inside, especially on a windy day.
Awesome memories here, i cant wait to return one day. Thank you!!

At one time in history Trim Castle was the largest fortification in Ireland. Buy tickets to see the Keep with a guided tour, we missed out as they were sold out for the 4:45 tour. The grounds are free to visit and there are informational signs. Easy parking nearby and within walking distance of shops.
Susan Henkel — Google review
We arrived right at 10 o'clock, but had to wait for the 10:45 tour, as a private group had the first slot. The tour was informative and the guide was funny. Don't forget to buy your Heritage Pass if this is your first stop! I forgot and the lady was kind enough to refund my tickets and then do the pass.
Jen O'Brien — Google review
Simply incredible. By far the largest castle in Ireland, with very well preserved ruins of massive walls and main tower. The location by the river ford is also quite impressive - and you get a perfect view at the Medieval monastery ruins as well.
Admission at the grounds is free, you only pay 5 EUR for a guided tour around the tower.

This was an amazing experience! We went on a group tour of Trim Castle, and learned so much about it's history. It was fun walking up ancient stone staircases to the top of the castle and looking out over the countryside. You can see everything from up there, the river, both moats, and part of the city. We went on a Wednesday in March, and it wasn't busy at all. We walked up to the gate and got tickets for the next available tour.
Kathleen McCrea — Google review
Very interesting place to visit! The access to the castle is very easy. You can have a walk around the premises outside. You need a ticket if only you want to get into the castle building. Next to the castle there is a parking. Don’t miss to have a walk around the village and have a nice meal at the local restaurants.
N P — Google review
Well worth a visit, you can only visit the tower with a tour guide so be sure to buy a ticket at the gate (5€/ adult) it’s definitely worth it. The tour guide (Susan) was super knowledgeable, friendly and pretty funny as well. Visitor Safety and comfort was emphasised which made for a very inclusive tour. Visiting the grounds is free. You’d need about 1 hour for the guided tour and -/+ 20 minutes for the grounds. Parking is limited but you can park for free in the street on Sundays or max 2 hours on Saturday during the day.

If you are looking for a place to visit and learn a little more about our history ,then Trim castle is a fantastic way to do it .You can walk the grounds for free or take the castle tour (€5 for adults under 13s are free !!! ).Fantastic value and the guide we had kept everyone informed but more so entertained .
I will say though ,the climb up and down the spiral stairs was a bit nerve wracking but worth it for the view !!!
I do think there should be a tip jar for the guides though , fantastic knowledge and funny also .Check the times for the tour so you don’t time it wrong and end up waiting … it’s only half an hour but it’s Ireland …. You don’t want to to be standing in the rain ….

One of the best places to know more about the history of Ireland and Anglo Norman era. Guided tour available at the castle, which was absolutely brilliant as she talked each and everything about the history of the castle. You have to take tickets costs €5 for adults to enter inside the castle but walking around is free. Pay and display is also available at €2 for 2 hours which is lovely.

Beautiful and historical castle which is well worth a visit. The castle is in the town. The grounds are free to visit but if you wish to in the tower, there is a regular tour which is only 5 Euro.
Derek — Google review
The castle has an area of 30,000 m², it opened in 1174. Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter built the castle over a period of 30 years. The central fortification is a three-storey keep that's 20-sided and cruciform in shape. The keep was protected by a ditch, curtain wall, and water-filled moat.
Access for those with disabilities is restricted due to the narrow, steep staircases throughout the castle.
There is no parking on site, but there's on-street parking in the nearby town of Trim.

What a beautiful place ! What can I say ?! Yesterday all our family had our annual Santa Visit and chose Clonfert due to its great prices and word of mouth from other families that have been . We were not disappointed ! The farm is a great day out , there is no limit in time spent there unlike other Santa visits and even if the weather isn’t great they have a beautiful cafe selling hot food , snacks , drinks . Their Christmas cupcakes are delicious and look amazing , a family can even get a large pizza for €10. Kids meals also available . They have outdoor heaters throughout the farm which really add to the cozy atmosphere , and a lovely shop which sells soft toys , candles , cards , Christmas decorations and gifts. .
The kids especially LOVED making their reindeer food with the elves while having a hot chocolate , Santa looked like he just flew in from the North Pole , they even have a reindeer at the farm ! What was great also is the kids get to choose their Santa gift unlike other Santa visits , they also pick this out at the elves workshop , another great festive activities for the kids. I couldn’t get me nephew off the bouncy castle and all the kids loved the carousel which is included in your elli key . Lastly all staff could not be more friendly , the elves are great with the kids. Making the reindeer and Santa visit is not rushed at all , and the kids can spend ages at the playground and costing all the animals . We will definitely be visiting again throughout the year , especially for Easter and Halloween , and will be having my nieces party there in the Summer when the BBQ stations are open. .Well done to all the hard working staff, Christmas can be very stressful also when staff are so busy , none of this shows however , they deserve a great review for all their hard work . Thank you all to clonfert for making our family outing one of the best days out we’ve had this year !

A nice place to spend time for families, especially one with kids. There are a lot of facilities for kids including a mini zip line. However for adults only group not much, except the cafe is decent.
This is more of a zoo with games for kids, than a farm. Though I understand zoo like facilities are required for kids to see animals, the concern is cramped spaces are very tough on animals. It hurts!
ARUN Thundyill Saseendran — Google review
A good place to spend a few hours if you are with small kids. It is like a very small zoo with playgrounds, a bouncy castle, go-karts etc. I wish that it was planned differently - so that you could do a loop walk and end up in the area with all activities. Otherwise, the first thing that kids see is a bouncy castle

Castletown House is a grand Georgian estate that showcases the vast wealth of the Anglo-Irish gentry in the 18th century. It is considered as one of Ireland's most impressive historical landmarks with restored, period-style interiors and a unique conical barn folly. Visitors can enjoy hour-long guided tours or wander around at their own pace to marvel at its magnificence. Don't miss out on taking a stroll down to the river for breathtaking views of the house.
Had a house tour with Celine last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it, she was very knowledgeable and friendly and really made the tour. The house is beautiful and the history is fascinating. Beautiful grounds with lots to see and do. The cafe is lovely for food. Extremely helpful and friendly staff throughout. Very dog and family friendly

Went on the first Wednesday (so was free) and at the start half heard something then at the end found out it's only a "highlights" 1/4 tour
I was looking forward to looking out and seeing Connolly's Folly (a staff member told me I would see it)
Apart from this big disappointment (should be full tour for half price or offer free limited ones). It was enjoyable (if somewhat rushed tour, checking her watch and saying need to get a move on) from a friendly guide
Also given a code to see a nice small garden loop with statues and plenty of flowers
Much as I would love to see the full tour, I wouldn't drive from Dublin to pay to see/hear a lot of the same
The woman on reception not very friendly and came across as coming from her wages
A nice building and grounds, but wouldn't drive too far to see (especially as works going on that block the front of the house)
Also not allowed to take videos on tour (plenty of videos taken inside the house can be found online)

Dún a Rí Forest Park is a tranquil natural area located just 1.5km north of Kingscourt on the way to Carrickmacross. The park offers several dog-friendly walking paths, each with its own points of interest, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls and picnics. Visitors can explore wooded areas, streams, lakes, and even come across a charming wishing well. The park features clean toilet facilities and ample parking space for a nominal fee.
Wonderful afternoon spent here with wife kids and the dog. All other dogs were on leads too which is great policy. Hours of fun to be had here between the footpaths, making your own trails, sitting listening to the water and nature sounds. Car park is huge, well worth 5er in and toilet facilities too and a picnic area. It's a great spot for a day out and lots of hidden gems to be seen too. Later into spring it will be a wash with wildflowers to be enjoyed among the trees and streams. Will be returning once a month

Best latte I had in a long time. Well worth a trip just for a coffee and chat. Walk is lovely with tranquil sounds of river. Plenty of benches, picnic table, toilet facilities by the carpark. During the walk you will spot ruins of old buildings, there's Cabra cottage, Ice House, Duck pond, small waterfalls and even a spring with fresh water and a ladle to drink from! I loved the massive bridge and little viewing platform beside it.

There are several different walks but just start walking, it's a wooded area with streams and lakes and trees and steps and a wishing well you can drink from, it's really so nice. I will return every week from now on.

Public toilets there weren't the nicest, but to be fair, it's better than going out in the wild when you are desperate.
Robyn Louise Kavanagh — Google review
It's a lovely Forest to visit but I don't understand why you have to pay five euros to get in because that money is obviously not used for the up keep of the roads on entry to the park and definitely not maintaining the public toilets.

Absolutely brilliant, you pay €5 per car to get in but it's totally worth it. The grounds are looked after and taken care of, you have benches to rest or just enjoy the view everywhere and there is not a speck of rubbish. You have a few different roots to take depending on your energy levels and the kids have a great time running around. Totally recommend it.

Beautiful forest with routes for everyone. Paved, gravel, mud. There's one for evert taste for sure. Totally worth the €5 entrance fee (per car, paid only by card).

Amazing forest park, we went with our kids, we fell in love with all the amazing views and explored all the paths, and we will definitely come back. Recomend it 100%.

It's a lovely place with beautiful views, a lake with ducks, a small waterfall, and about 4 variants for walk 🚶♂️. There is a cafe where you can buy tea 🍵, hot chocolate or coffee ☕️ with some cakes. Parking is inside, entrance for car 🚗 5 euro 💶
Ольга Лебедь — Google review
There are some really beautiful views out there, it's a nice walking area. We decided to follow the brown route, but there were no signs for it everwhere, so we wandered around instead.
Oh and the parking ramp only gets lifted for, like, 10 seconds after you pay and then it closes again. If you don't pass right away, you'll have to pay again, because -- technology 😕 You can pay with card.

Full oxygen, birds singing, small waterfalls, river walks, hiking in short many possibilities with kids. But it's the only park I paid €5 for entrance, if you park outside than walk in is free of charge.

Emerald Park in Ashbourne is the largest amusement park in Ireland, offering a wide range of attractions for visitors of all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to a zoo with interactive petting areas, there's something for everyone. The park also features historical sites such as Kells and Mellifont Abbey, as well as the Battle of the Boyne Site.
The park ist perfect for families and compared to others not crowded. Prices are fairly low and the combination between fun rides and zoo is ideal. Especially the bird show with eagles, hawks and owls was great fun. We had an awesome day with 2 kids and will definitely come back. 6 stars if this would be possible 👍
Gernot Bartonek — Google review
Overall experience was nice, the amusement rides are exciting. It takes actually 2-3 whole days to explore everything that's in the park. Due to long waiting queues for each and every rides, a lot of time is wasted, hence you end-up skipping rides and shows , and not making use of the amount you pay for complete access. Kids play area and kids rides and sensory friendly play space are all great for the age groups.. It would be good if you make sure your toddler-school age kid is meeting the minimum height requirement before booking all access ticket for them. Because, height restrictions apply on the most exciting rides in the park, kids will be very disappointed, otherwise.
I don't know whether there is any seat limit for each day, but for sure , long waiting queues inside for each ride, didn't look like there is any calculation on head for booking..., which was absolutely exhausting..
They have animals and birds to watch too. But, not so many exciting ones.
There are adequate food courts, restrooms, nursing areas for mom's , wheelchair access toilets, waiting areas, etc.

Nice place to hang around with friends.
They have so many attractions there in which the Roller coaster being on top. The staffs are super friendly and very nice, especially when it comes with kiddos. They really enjoy helping people. The Zoo they have arranged there have good experienced people who can explain every details about the animals there. The guy explained about the tiger was very happy to share the information and he did it very well.
Overall, it's worth a visit.

While it is certainly not the cheapest form of fun, definitely one of the best places in Ireland and since years consistent.
Great day out for kids and plenty of good rides.
The raptor bird show is a must see, amazing.

Immaculate. Well organised and managed. Shame you can’t get a non ride pass though. Ended up spending €33 online to walk around it with the kids. Plenty of food pit stops, seats and toilet areas along the way. Great selection of amusements and rides for the very young to the adventurous. Had a petting zoo and we were able to get close to the lemurs which was a first anywhere! Brilliant. Huge parking area which is also well managed. Last trip here when it has been run by Tayto 😞 Highly recommend the park. Tickets are cheaper online.

My one-day trip to Emerald Park in Dublin was an absolute blast! From thrilling rides to mouthwatering food, it was an unforgettable experience.
The highlight of Emerald Park was undoubtedly the rides. The park had a great variety of attractions suitable for all ages and preferences. Whether it was the adrenaline-pumping roller coasters or the classic Ferris wheel, there was something for everyone. The rides were well-maintained, and safety measures were strictly followed, ensuring a fun and secure experience.
Now let's talk about the food, starting with the twisted chips. They were a true delight! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, the twisted chips were a delicious treat that satisfied my snack cravings. They were a unique twist on traditional fries and definitely worth trying.
As for the ice cream, it was the perfect way to cool down on a sunny day. Emerald Park offered a wide range of flavors, from classic options like chocolate and strawberry to more adventurous ones like salted caramel or cookie dough. The ice cream was creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. It was evident that they used high-quality ingredients to create their delectable treats.
Overall, my experience at Emerald Park was fantastic. The thrilling rides provided hours of entertainment, and the twisted chips and ice cream added a delicious touch to the day. If you're looking for a fun-filled day with exciting attractions and mouthwatering food, Emerald Park in Dublin is definitely the place to go!

The map of the park is so confusing, there are no numbers for the rides and overall the park organization could be much improved. The best thing was the Birds show, probably the most fun and interesting one we have ever saw!
Compared to other parks, we also appreciated the possibility for the kids to drive small cars in a “driving lesson” attraction and the fully equipped rock climbing attraction
Micol Santi — Google review
Good day out with children. Have done the bird show a few times now and it's always great. The biggest coaster is very fun and there is lots to do for smaller kids with the zoo, park and other smaller rides. Some negatives were the wait times for some of the kiddie coasters is very long for the fun you get out of it, the flight school line was pretty dirty and the drink refill machines didn't have a massive selection.
Thomas Armstrong — Google review
My family and I had a great day. The customer service is fantastic. Even if there is a storm the time we went and some of the rides are not available, we still had a great time. Food is always lovely at the lodge and the staff are really friendly and accomodating. There wasn't much queues due 2 the weather which works great for us not having to queue for a long time.
Claude Causapin Walsh — Google review
Always a great day out when the sun shines. Park is clean, plenty to do for 4-6 hours. Queue times can vary depending on the day visiting, but the most we queued was 15 minutes (wooden rollercoaster). Animal zone is always a great place to walk around, and grab a twisty potato crisp.

An amazing, fun filled, theme park, crammed full of literally dozens of exciting and entertaining things to do. Suitable for all ages from 3 to adult. Spotlessly clean indoors and outdoors, high quality food, exciting rides, stunning wildlife and an outdoor free flying raptor display that will have you absolutely blown away. Pack the car, grab the kids. Book your tickets online and go. Thank me later.

Emerald Park proved to be an exhilarating adventure from start to finish. With its diverse attractions, there's something for everyone. The thrilling rides, like the roller coasters were a hit with adrenaline junkies. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the zoo area showcased an impressive collection of animals. The informative shows and interactive exhibits provided a great learning opportunity for visitors of all ages. The picturesque landscapes and well-maintained grounds added to the overall ambiance. Food options were plenty, offering a variety of choices to suit different tastes. The staff's friendly demeanor and efficient organization enhanced the enjoyment of the visit. While peak times could get a bit crowded, the park's overall layout ensured that lines were manageable. Emerald Park undoubtedly stands as a must-visit destination, promising a day of excitement, entertainment, and fond memories.

No queues, great atmosphere!! Plenty of things to do and see for all ages, lots of amusements and games to play!! There’s a playground for mini people who might be a little too short for some of the rides!! Loads of places to eat and drink!! Highly recommend!! Oh and there’s a zoo!! Staff are super friendly and helpful and if the rides are 100% safe as there’s maintenance people constantly around the park observing rides.

So I did have a detailed 2 star review of Tayto Park here based on my experience from 2022 and 2021. I commented on how rough Cu Chulainn is, how the park badly needed the new rides, how there was no music in most areas of the park, how Viking Voyage was very run down, how some staff were just uninterested and looked untrained. I was back today at Emerald Park with the European Coaster Club to experience Tir na nOg and all it has to offer and I was so impressed. OK, so Cu Chulainn is rougher than ever and I see the (in my opinion) awful Power Surge is still there but there are so many improvements to be thrilled about. Tir na nOg is stunning, the Vekomas are the perfect coasters for the park, ops were good even considering all the delays with TV crews and interviews etc, there was themed music playing at lots of locations, there is some great new merchandise (though some ladies fitted t-shirts would be a nice addition) and staff were polite, friendly and efficient. I do think there is a lot of empty space around Endeavour so hopefully the park has plans to fill this up a little while overhauling those flat rides and retracking Cu Chulainn. All in good time, I'm sure. Emerald Park is on the up which is so exciting to see. It is now firmly on the world stage for coaster enthusiasts.
Audrey Mealiff — Google review
Good amusement park for the island of ireland. Ticket price is high considering the waiting time. The best ride is clearly the wooden roller coaster, where as the other ones are not as exciting really. Never the less, emerald park/tattoo park is a fantastic day out for families and can cater for any age group. If you buy ticket in advance, you can avail 20% discount so make sure you take the saving option.

Overall, it was really fun.
It was €39 per person. You do have full access to all the shows and attractions. Make sure to book online as it's €47 if you pay on the day.
We had food at the park and it was very good we had pizza, chicken Goujons and chips. Good value.
I love the roller-coaster. it's definitely my favorite!! The viking ride with the water word of warning ⚠️ u will get drenched!! I definitely wasn't expecting it.

Overall the staff no matter what part of the park u are in should it be the restaurant, the marshalls at the rides,or even any of the many kisoks are super friendly and helpful,we come over from Lisburn in n.ireland and it takes us roughly 60/90 mins travel each way but it's definitely worth the effort,we will be back again for our 5th time hopefully in the summer. Farmleigh House & Estate is a sprawling 78-acre estate nestled in the Phoenix Park. Originally built as a state guest house in the 18th century, it has since been restored to its former glory. With guided tours available, visitors can explore the magnificent Georgian architecture and stunning walled gardens that define this historic site. The estate also boasts an array of architectural designs and decors from the Edwardian era, giving it a unique and eclectic charm.

What a wonderful time at Farmleigh house with the Christmas Carols. The house was open to the public, giving access to the main hall, the beautiful glass conservatory (ideal for reception), the beautiful dining room, and the magnificent library. The library is home to treasure books such as a first edition of Gulliver travel. It is typically accessible to the head of state and some students for their research.

It was my husband's birthday at the weekend and I thought a birthday cake as part of his day's golfing would be nice. Eleanor went above and beyond for us and it was very much appreciated.
Brú na Bóinne, located in the Boyne Valley of Ireland, is a well-known prehistoric site featuring 3 neolithic passage tombs and 90 additional monuments. The burial mounds, including Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, are around 5,000 years old and have been fully excavated for visitors to explore. Newgrange stands out with its carved granite boulders and white quartz face.
Great tour. The docents were knowledgeable and very engaging and know the history well. Knowth was an exceptional experience. Visitor Centre really well done, efficient, clean and memorable. Tour very good value for money to see such extraordinarily special place.

Fantastic archeological site! This is an UNESCO heritage site and the guides were awesome. The inside of Newgrange was amazing and the only other place, I've been, like it were the Great Pyramids of Giza. A major difference here is its much older than the pyramids dating back to the neolithic era. Adults and children all learned a bit and enjoyed. The carvings are impressive and it was impressive how old they are.

Lovely to be able to walk in and see the craftsmanship on the interior. I’m sure it’s spectacular to see on the winter solstice. But they do a mock up of that for you with the lights off and then the sun rising. They give you a lot of history so there’s really no time to look around on the outside. The buses are very timely.

Highly recommend scheduling your trip in advance, but so worth it. We started at Knowth, and our guide was knowledgeable, funny and overall excellent. I believe his name was Kiernan (he just found out he is from royalty). It is incredibly scenic and fascinating. There looks to be a lunar calendar etched in to the stone, from 5000+ years ago. Newgrange is incredible. Will say- if you are claustrophobic, or are on the bigger side (i am 6’3, 250) be prepared to be scraping along the walls as you go to the chamber. They simulate what happens on the winter solstice. It is awe inspiring. Throw in the river Boyne and the story of Finn McCool…and all the sheep- one of the best days ever, not just of the trip.

Great example of a mostly complete neolithic site dating from at least 3500 BC. Our tour guide at the site, Aegnus, was amazing. You could really tell he genuinely loved the material and was excited to present it.
Additionally, the visitors center was excellent. The material presented in the exhibition was very much a information gathering before the trip to the site. The way they displayed the info was just right - not too technical nor too simple.

Life-changing site to visit. I can't recommend the tour enough, very knowledgeable and approachable staff. The feeling at these sites was special. Not far from the busyness of Dublin, this was a paradise full of history, culture, and magic.

Very interesting historical tour of more than 7000 years in the past. Good price (€10 per adult) for the "sister" version of the larger Newgrange site. The exhibition was fun as it immerses you into the lifestyle and the foot path of the neolithic population. The guided tour lasted for 30 minutes with some archeological descriptions together with theoretical stories opening to your own interpretations. You can then walk the site at your own pace for about 15 minutes and watch a video.

A great experience even having caught the tail of hurricane Agnes. Not even 80 kph wind gusts and stinging rain stopped our guides who forged ahead anyway. One thing’s for sure—the Irish can weather a storm! The history, culture and the tombs themselves are amazing. Our guide, Lisa, was particularly good at sparking our imaginations and closing the time gap between us and our ancient ancestors. The center was very nice and a welcome respite from the weather. The best ham and cheese sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Of course, Irish butter instead of mayonnaise! The Boyne Valley and River—scenic delights. Even caught a rainbow. Definitely, a must see experience.

Great experience, especially being able to go inside the monument. The guides are great and you can tell that they are very passionate about it. It's amazing how these structures are still there after 5000 years.
Book at least a month in advance. Tickets sell very fast. You go there from the visitor centre and a bus takes you there at the time you booked.
Newgrange is a prehistoric monument featuring a mound and chambers, as well as an interpretive visitor center. Its round white stone walls stretch 80 meters in diameter and stand 13 meters high with a grass dome on top, giving it an eerie futuristic appearance. Built around 3200 BC, this impressive passage tomb predates the pyramids of Egypt by six centuries and was likely designed to act as a calendar based on its precise alignment with the sun during the winter solstice.
We had a lovely tour around Newgrange but we're unable to go into the Monuments due to Covid which was a pity, but still amazing to be able to see the dedication if the craftsmen who not only built them, but also restored it.
It was a lively introduction by our guide to the Spirals and also the stories behind how the monuments came about.
We were there on a beautiful day and had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine and wonderful scenery.
Recommended visit for families especially if the Monuments are all open for a visit.

We went to New Grange on a Saturday from Dublin for a day trip as it’s only around 1.5 hours away. The tickets to see this place was free although you have to book them online and there are limited tours. We opted for an afternoon tour. I think there are a few tours every few hours. Once you reach Newgrange, they arrange another vehicle to take you the actual monument. Now this place is ancient and dating almost around 4000years ago. There was a person/tour guide who was explaining the history of New Grange. You can only see the Winter solstice on a lottery basis which is pretty cool. Once the tour ended we went to the museum. There is also free parking and a cafe at the premises. Overall a fantastic day trip and a must visit place!

Amazing place. We missed to book tickets to get inside tomb so had to take the shuttle tour and museum. With the shuttle we can get an outside view of the tomb. Our tour guide Siobhan was lovely explained the history behind it and how it might have made use in the past. It also happens to be one of the UNESCO world heritage site. Pleasant sceneries and they had nice museum where they have replica of the portion of the tomb. To enter a tomb circa 3200BC and to be able to take the guided tour where you enter the passage tomb and experience what the winter solstice lighting inside would be like was emotional.
The drive and dedication to make such a place over 5000 years ago. Wonderful experience.

Amazing experience where you can see and touch stone markings made by someone over 5000 years ago. The tour guides are very nice. You get an explanation and a tour inside the tomb (you can't take pictures inside) and then you can explore the outside on your own.

Really good! Good tour guides, and the monument is cool. It is however a tight squeeze on the inside of the Newgrange, so we aware of that if you’re a bigger person. The walks around the area is easy.

Spectacular history! Great guides. Tour ventures to both Knowth and Newgrange sites (pics from both). Make sure you reserve a bus ticket ahead of time! It’s the only way to see this site up close! So worth it.

Coolest Neolithic monument ever!! Newgrange is beautiful and the museum center was incredible. All staff was very kind, and after a relaxing short bus ride out to the site we got to go into one of the passage tombs and see the only triple spirals in the entire world! We bought tickets in advance.

An amazing experience to see such ancient history. The visitor centre is well put together and extremely informative, and the tour guides at each site stop were knowledgeable and friendly, always keen to answer questions. Highly recommend! (NB: if you visit in winter, most of the visit it’s out doors and it can get cold)

Amazing place! I recommend doing the tour through the visitor center where they will take you to Knowth and Newgrange via bus. The tour guides were very informative. Incredible history and a such a mysterious site.

A must must-go place in this beloved little island. It took me 7 years to get there, fool!
The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable, a plus to the place. Lovely soup to enjoy between visits.

Newgrange. I can't believe this amazing neolithic monument built circa 3200 bc. At least 1000years before The Great Pyramid at Giza. Is only one hours drive from Dublin, and I haven't been to visit sooner. This burial chamber has so much in common with the pyramids and the burial of "kings"is mind blowing. Anyone with an interest in ancient history will have to see these monuments.
It is a fabulous day's excursion. To be able to walk inside this sacred place. Also demonstration of what occurs on the winter solstice when the sun enters the chamber.
Wish I could have scored it 6 stars.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and described the history enthusiastically and answered all our questions.

A truly wonderful experience. The guided tour was very informative, and the experience of being inside this 5000-year-old neolithic monument was breathtaking. You somehow feel that you become a part of a very special place in human civilisation. The exhibition is very creatively designed and answers all the questions one may have about this place, and the cafeteria and an observation deck are good add-ons. The staff at the reception was very nice and somehow arranged for us a tour though we didn't book online and almost exited the place to go back home. They surely saved the day for us, and just to make it extra special, they gave it as a compliment. Completely blown away by their kind gesture 🙏. Will surely come back again, and with pre-book tickets this time 😀

Excellent tour of both Knowth and Newgrange. Guides were very well informed and professional, so interesting. A must see if visiting Dublin. We were lucky there was room on next tour , wait of 30 mins, but definitely pre booking is recommended especially in season. Visitors centre extremely informative with replica of inside mound. You cannot take photos inside Newgrange.

I have been wanting to see New Newgrange for years! I finally made it, and it was everything, and then some. A must-see! A little secret, if you walk down to the public toilets, there's a coble stone wall you can stand on and get a full panoramic shot. Tour guides fail to tell you this.

As expected for a busy tourist site every step is managed by tour guides. They are very infotmed and friendly though.
A lovely walk and then bus ride up to the site.
This is a beautiful park with stunning views of the cathedral. It's a great spot for photos and to take a break, especially if you're in the city on a spring day. There's not much in the way of attractions, but it's still worth checking out.
Such a calm and peaceful place in the center of downtown. I spent few moments there in peace. Kids were playing in the playground. Visitors were watching and chatting. There is a cafeteria in the area for coffee, drinks, snacks and ice cream

Perfect spot for photos of the cathedral and to stop for a quiet visit with friends. We had been walking for awhile and wanted to at least see the outside before leaving town. hope to go back since we didn’t have time to tour the inside. But it doesn’t feel like a waste just to visit the park.

St. Patrick's Park in Dublin is a lovely spot for a relaxing day out. Tucked away near St. Patrick's Cathedral, it's an easy walk from the city center or a nice break if you're exploring the area.
Getting into the park is free, making it a budget-friendly option for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. The greenery and well-kept gardens provide a peaceful escape from the urban hustle. It's a perfect place for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for a quiet corner in the city.

The Irish Military Museum offers a unique perspective on Ireland's involvement in the World Wars, showcasing a diverse collection of wartime artifacts. Despite Ireland's neutrality during World War II, many Irish people fought in the conflicts. The museum displays historical uniforms from various periods, including British and German uniforms from both world wars, as well as those worn by the 1916 Irish Volunteers and military personnel from the Vietnam War.
We visited today during the special weekend, we had a great family day out from young to old. The staff were very knowledgeable & great at interacting with the kids. There was so much to see we will have to go again to make sure we didn't miss anything. Definitely recommend visiting you won't be disappointed.

Spent a great time in the museum with my brother-in-law. Had great chats with William and Gavin, both very knowledgeable, helpful: no problem handling items of interest. Range of exhibits is great, with many unexpected vehicles, especially the Hanomag 251and M3 halftracks, and the Greyhound armoured car with a very interesting history. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in military history and memorabilia.

All the staff are top class people. There are that many detailed exhibits you would need multiple viewings to take it all in ! There are WW1,WW2,Vietnam war,OP Desert Storm exhibits and many rare items not to mention the vehicles on show. All the staff there are happy to answer any questions you may have. Definitely get to the museum

Our crew had a great time here today. While the act of war is abhorrent to me, it is part of history and has been well preserved here. I’m very interested in industrial evolution and the museum has a wealth of artefacts.
The displays are very well thought out with detailed information. A credit to the team involved.

I'm really impressed with the Irish Military Museum. The Guides (William & Co. ) are very knowledgeable & engaging. Our students had a fantastic time. It was a very unique educational experience and helped reinforce their classroom learning about WWI. The guides are flexible in terms of being able to adapt the tour to the needs of students and teachers. This was our second trip to the Museum so far and we look forward to bringing more of our students in the near future. What is unique about this museum is that students are able to hold a lot of the weaponry and try on many of the uniforms and helmets. There's few places in the world where a museum will go the extra mile like this. This helps cement their learning with a fully immersive experience. I would highly recommend a visit to the Irish Military Museum. Mr. Collins, Post Primary Teacher at Oatlands College.

They also have open days with vehicles outside etc, well worth following their Facebook page.

My girlfriend and I visited this museum yesterday and thought it was lovely. There are plenty of things you can touch and interact with and the owner is happy to take a certain gun out of one of the locked cabinets to let you hold it or tell you more about it.

Dublin's Croke Park is the biggest stadium in Ireland and the home of Gaelic sports. It is host to major games in Gaelic football and hurling, with the finals of both sports taking place each September. The stadium is incredibly popular among locals and tourists alike, with a capacity of 82,300.
Fabulous venue for both sport & musical acts. The jewel in Dublin's Crown. It won't disappoint.

Attended a concert here. Third largest stadium in Europe. Absolutely fantastic venue. So well managed. Staff and security were so friendly, helpful and really unobtrusive. Very clean everywhere. Plenty of signage, toilets and places to get food and drink. A pint of Guinness was £5.60 which was fair enough - and even better when it tasted as good as it did! Great view over the city too. There’s nothing I could fault Croke for whatsoever. An unbelievable venue. Thank you everyone at Croke 👏👏👏

Awesome stadium experience! Drinking some beers in the hallway/corridor areas while keeping the seating area super clean is clutch. The signs and directions were easy to follow and smartly placed, there was plenty of space everywhere, the fans and overall crowd was fun and loud without being too insane or crazy, and the grass is extremely well maintained for the players to use. I'd definitely come back here to watch another match whenever I could.

Was great to be part of over 82,000 supporters in the famous Croke Park stadium yesterday when Leinster overcame Northampton 20-17 in the champions cup semi final. Rugby is not normally played in Croke Park as it is the home of the GAA where our national sports of Hurling and Gaelic football are played. We’ll work a visit if your in the city as it has a very old history and the GAA Museum and sky tour up on the roof are terrific.

Big stadium to watch the games or other sport activities. There is no parking, so think your route in advance. Seats are comfortable but not much space between rows. Plenty small cafes or deli where you can get snacks or drinks. The only issue we had was a long queue in the toilets. There are much more makes toilets than females toilets. There’s is also interesting and famous GAA museum. Also we did a sky tour few years ago.

A beautiful hotel that has been a home from home for many years when attending hospital appointments . Extremely polite and welcoming staff throughout the hotel , bar area is large and yet quite private also with little hidden corners spaced around .
The bar menu has somewhat changed since we where here last less options but still could find something I liked The fish and chips , fish was beautiful with lovely light batter the chips were scarce I counted 9 ! A struggle for a hungry traveler with portion sizes.
Bedrooms are 5* , always have been . Very comfortable bed and pillows, lots of amenities in rooms and a must for my family a shower and bath . Spotlessly clean and reasonably priced as a Doyle member / GHA member .
Great security as you can't use the lift unless you have a room key , also ample free parking if booking is directly made with hotel , you will be charged if booking through a third party .

St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Armagh is a must-see landmark with a rich history dating back to the 5th century. The current structure, built in the 13th century, showcases stunning stained-glass windows and intricate carvings. It also houses a museum that offers insights into its fascinating past. The cathedral is known for its impressive architecture and serves as a burial site for notable figures from the county.

Beautiful large elaborate cathedral with unending mosaics on the floor and the walls in addition to tall detailed stain glass windows. Lofty arches lead to more art work which ceiling angels watch over. A definite must see. Outside three tombs Cardinal Conway, one in Latin, and one in Irish. I do wish they had a small placard so I knew who the others were.

Stayed in Armagh for a few nights , it's true what they say about this being a town full of impressive churches, this possibly being the most impressive of the bunch. I can only vouch for the outside as the evening was late and was all closed up. The Cathedral, although smaller than most others that you would class as Cathedrals.
Grounds are pleasant enough to walk around, although no flat, the Church is perched upon a hill, so that the town can look up and worship the true majesty of the Lord , with the steps of attrition leading up to worship .... cor religion , it's so full of itself , if it wasn't for the buildings I'd have nothing to do with it !

I visited St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh today and it was a most enjoyable experience.
The Cathedral is well sign posted in Armagh and is easy to locate.
There are car parking spaces at the rear of the Cathedral.
The Cathedral has two spires and has a row of steps that lead up to the main entrance to the Cathedral.
As you enter the Cathedral the thing that draws your attention straight away is the alter and sanctuary.
It is beautiful. It is extremely colourful and ornate clad in gold.
There are also lots of beautiful stained glass windows in the Cathedral.
In the stained glass window behind the sanctuary is a depiction of St Patrick and the fawn.
I would recommend a visit to St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral in Armagh in Northern Ireland.

One of the ancient church at Armagh, a quite place to spend your spiritual time.
History
Church was built in various phases between 1840 and 1904 to serve as the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Armagh, the original Medieval Cathedral of St. Patrick having been appropriated by the state church called the Church of Ireland at the time of the Irish Reformation.
Mass times: Monday to Friday 10:00, Saturday Vigil at 19:00; Sunday at 09:00, 11.00 and 17:30.
Car parking and toilet facilities available.
No pass required for the entry.

A very impressive building and the artwork in the ceiling is particularly worth checking out. Lots of lost stories about Irish saints hidden up there.
There is no doubt but that the building was designed to impress. It is set on a hill surveying the surrounding countryside. As was typical in the 19th and early 20th centuries it is a neo-Gothic design.
St Peter's Church of Ireland, located in Drogheda, is a venerable Anglican church dating back to 1772. The church features a medieval stone font and an original organ. It is also renowned for housing the Shrine to Saint Oliver Plunkett, making it a significant site for visitors. The French Gothic facade, constructed from local limestone in 1884, adds to the church's architectural splendor. Additionally, nearby attractions such as St.
St Patrick's church is in the center of town and cannot be missed with the spectacular spire to help locate it. The church is lovely and a beautiful building. The interior, like most churches is very relaxed and a respectful, ambient athmosphere. The exhibits are very well explained and the story is detailed in exhibits. There is also a relic of the true cross which is quite interesting. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, established in 1789, is set in a picturesque landscape and offers astronomy lectures. Visitors can also explore the Georgian architecture of the Mall, visit the living-history museum at Navan Centre and Fort, or enjoy Gaelic football games. The Planetarium on College Hill showcases interactive displays, original stargazing instruments from the Observatory, and modern equipment. Stargazing events are held occasionally and must be booked in advance.

A great place for kids to learn about space exploration and astronomy. The dome shows are both entertaining and educational, presented by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of hands-on stuff for kids to have fun with in the exhibition area, including a mini play area for toddlers. Biggee kids will love the rocket-building workshops too (but be prepared to get wet during the process!). The only slight disappointment is the AOP (augmented reality) items in the outdoor display area, which I find quite difficult to operate. Overall a highly enjoyable experience and definitely recommended.

We have dunsink observatory on our doorstep and came up to here for a change of celestial viewings.
We loved the exhibition centre lots of wonderful display pictures models interactive screens.
Sensory room also was fun and the other room with space and environment.
We forgot to go to the build a rocket room but should also mention the room.
We viewed our solar system in the dome and it was brilliant show I read some other reviews complaining about their necks 😆 we sat in the middle row and no one from 6 to 80 had issue as the seats are comfy and reclined to an angle for viewing that's how you watch the dome show the main features are in front of your eyes all the time if your rubber necking your missing the main viewing FYI
Staff were brilliant and friendly I'd also like to say I was impressed with our show guide especially when she spoke of hopefully some type of life on some of the planets whether it was a flower a fish etc cause I believe there's life beyond otherwise its a waste of space.
We had a lovely stroll around the grounds on a frosty day and loved it. I'd recommend to all ages to come visit it gets minds buzzing and open thinking and could inspire the next galileo astronaut astro physicists etc.
Great space themed giftshop also at the entrance.
We will defo be back again thank you for a lovely few hour's to imagine possibilities beyond.

We attended the stargazing event on the 15th of March and absolutely loved it! (NB! These events have to be booked ahead as they are only held occasioanlly)
My partner and I are both big fans of astronomy and stargazing and have been wanting to buy our own telescope for a while, but have little experience with them. They had three different big telescopes that we could look through. It was evident that the staff were all professionals and very well knowledged and answered loads of our questions!
I saw Jupiter and its moons (my favourite as I always spot it in the night sky), The seven sisters star cluster, a spiral galaxy, the moon, and plenty of other stars.
It was a great night as we could also explore the observatory itself and all the exhibitions, as well as the live sky dome show.
It’s such an interesting experience and worth the drive up from Dublin!

As adults we had the BEST time! Who doesn’t love learning about space and we were genuinely ecstatic and amused by the rocket making and launching! Perfect for a 2 hour visit with a show or longer with kids!

First, the staff were fantastic very informative and interactive with the kids... we (1 adult, 3 kids) went to the brickosaurus, it was good, it wasn't a huge exhibition but the display was excellent. The tickets we had only covered the exhibition (@£15)which we got through very quickly. On hindsight we should have booked the dinosaur dome show but that would have been an extra £28 which I though was quite expensive for a 30-45 minute show. We also visited the cafe and shop, both staff were excellent and quite reasonable. Overall we had a great experience.
Dundalk Stadium is a venue that accommodates horse and dog racing events. It features multiple bars, restaurant options, and meeting spaces. The stadium boasts of providing excellent restaurant service with friendly and hospitable local staff who serve delicious 3-course meals at a reasonable price. The facility is clean with spotless toilets, which indicates the upkeep of the place behind the scenes is commendable. Patrons have expressed their satisfaction with both food quality and overall experience at Dundalk Stadium.

Excellent restaurant service, we had a lovely 3 course meal served by pleasant friendly local staff. Good value for money and nice place to go for a night out. Very nice clean stadium and toilets were spotless which is always a good sign of what's behind the scenes.

Dundalk provides a key outlet for Irish racing, so that I am sure is important, and I think it would be a good place for a company outing. The greyhound racing just with horses instead of greyhounds felling is just not for me.

Welcomed in with a mulled wine reception, our Friday night at the Dundalk Stadium was fantastic. Food was very good, whilst the staff were friendly and accommodating. The overall atmosphere was extremely lively, whilst the races themselves provided that extra element of excitement and entertainment for the night. The only negative element from our experience was the table being too squeezed up to the wall on one side. Half our party were affected by this lack of space. More room for Table 67! Overall, this was an absolutely memorable experience and will be returning here soon
Renting with Ring of Guillion was absolutely brilliant. We emailed in advance and got setup with two mountain bikes and directions for a ~2 hour cycle. Both of the bikes were super modern and gears/brakes were excellent. I'd highly recommend renting from these guys to explore the area!

We are extremely happy with the experience renting from Ring of Gullion cycle hire. Jim was fantastic and set us up for bike rentals and tour with our group from Chicago. We had a great time! Highly recommend them for a fun adventure!

Entered this shop a bike virgin and with their help, knowledge and experience, I am now riding the town and country on my bike.

Fabulous service. The knowledge and experience of the bike mechanics is absolutely fantastic. They're very competitive financially and easy to deal with. Plus they've been known to provide a coffee on occasion (maybe I shouldn't say that bit, just ignore it)........I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Throughtout the last few years we have bought good few items of Ring of Gullion Cycles and what lovely people to deal with never pushy on a sale and giving you the best advice. We got a orange double berg go cart and bike one christmas. We have returned most years after for more because of its great service. Definitely worth a call too no matter where you are in the country very nice people they all are and a massive range of products to choose from.

Could not fault Ring of Gullion cycles at all. Their customer service, knowledge and product quality are second to none. We contacted these guys online and the support and guidance given when purchasing our daughters bike was fantastic, it was excatly what we wanted and will definitely be back. 10 out of 10.

Tours of fully-functioning windmill and watermill, plus outdoor dining area for coffee and snacks.
This is my second five star location and that says everything about this location, great parking, lovely staff, a fantastic mill house, a very nice tea room with a lovely pond behind it, full of wildlife. Of course the stars of the show are the two windmills, they are stunning and both are superb in every way with different surrounding for each one making them unique in there settings. As a landscape photographer I loved it and you have to see it for yourself, enjoy

The place was picturesque and whole! It was a guided tour which last for almost 45 minutes. Must get the tickets before the tour and it was ten euros max for an adult. The guide was very friendly and explained the entire process of how bread was made and distributed during those days. Equipments were very well maintained as most of those were made of wood. Once that was done, we headed over to the water mill, there was 2 water mills and explore the insides of both and the view was amazing. Finally, we saw shipwreck of titanic and few pictures before completing the tour and ofcourse there was a gift shop to pick up some souvenirs. There was skerries market on the way to the information center which had number of show including brownies, cheese, painting etc and also got a cafe. Totally worth your time and you'll definitely love the tour.

We had a fantastic day exploring the Skerris Mills Heritage Museum! The tour provided a comprehensive overview of the museum's history and the process of grain milling. The highlight was definitely the ancient windmills from the 1400s and 1500s. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and took the time to walk us through each historical moment, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone interested in history and heritage!

Wow, what a place. 1200 years of history still preserved with all its beauty. It is a complete place. They offer a very comprehensive tour of the place, a live demo of the watermill and a detailed tour of the two wind mills at very affordable prices. There is also a nice little craft and souvenir shop and a cool restaurant in-premise.
There is also plenty of green around and a children’s park very near that makes it perfect for a family. All in all, a great place to spend a day out.

An hour well spent. The lady at reception was very friendly, and the gentleman doing the tour was great craic and very informative. Highly recommend. (Some amazing restaurants nearby too)

Plenty of parking as public park beside it
The receptionist was very friendly and quick to help (didn't get her name)
The tour guide Paddy was worth the admission alone, like a proud father telling me about his children (the windmills) and local information
If someone else just did the tour I think it would be over very quickly and not worth the ten euro
I feel like you should get a guided tour then let loop back on your own as I found it awkward taking pictures/videos when Paddy was giving the tour/talking
Fresh cooked scones and tea/coffee in reception with outside eating area with a café upstairs
The staff really make the whole thing more than it really is

What a wonderful experience. I found the tour most delightful and informative, our guide was very passionate about the windmills and was open to questions. I would recommend the tour more for older person's as our children were a little board half way through.

Thank you, Paddy, for the fantastic tour! This was such a lovely place to visit with friends and family. The history tour of the Three Mills was both informative and engaging. The cafe was a delightful stop for refreshments, and the souvenir shop had some unique finds. Plus, the playground was a hit with the kids. Overall, a wonderful day out! 🥰"

An interesting and educational tour for both children and adults. It will last about 35 minutes.
Tickets can be purchased at the reception. The main thing is to be lucky with the weather.

An ancient and scenic place perfect for a Sunday outing. If you're in Dublin you can reach here by taking a train aka Dart. The beach is pleasant and peaceful. Churches and mills take you to the ancient times. Plenty of places to hike around.

I went there during Heritage Wk. 2023. So the usual adult admission price is 10€ was waved as I booked under the Heritage Week banner online. Overall, I was very impressed. I did think that the tour guide who was very good and did know his stuff & the history of the place along with the history of milling flour, being as he himself said - a related family member to the last owners could have asked us at the start of our tour if we had questions...to please ask them! Or could have told us how exactly he was related to the mill as he was very vague about this... that would have added to the experience much more. Prob a minor thing, but I've been on many of these tours now to places ( not Mills but!) and knowing the guides link to the place really adds to the persons experience while visiting I think.
The mill is full of history and antiquities, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The length of the tour is ideal. It is not too difficult to navigate for most healthy folk, but disabled and elderly may think sections are not for them.
The cafe is wonderful, but perhaps a proper plant base protein sandwich filling (please NOT Falafel as every vegan is sick to high heaven of Falafel as the only option offered!!!!!!!) would have been a great addition to the menu. But they do have alternative plant based milks for tea and coffee, which is good.
There is a lovely gift shop also. The car park is close to the entrance to the mill building and easy to park in.
I'd highly recommend a visit to Skerries Mills.

What a unique look into the history of Skerries and milling in general. We had a fantastic tour (thank you Lauren) and a brilliant lunch. Highly recommend as a low key outing for a family, with a playground next door and picturesque views. Don't forget to get lunch at the cafe with their fresh baked goods!
PS, the Dublin City Pass gets you a free tour, and a coffee and scone from the cafe.
This was so fun!! Katrina was our tour guide and she was great. Really friendly, good fun and heaps of interesting facts. This is a really great tour, you get to sample lots and you'll probably walk away with a packet or two. Seems like a good company and they have done a few things to lessen their carbon footprint. Our kids had an absolute blast.

This is for the new tayto cheese n onion chocolate. Iv purchased two bars now n I'm very disappointed as all I can taste is chocolate. There are crisps through the bar but they taste plain not cheese n onion.

Hi, I actually haven't been to this place yet but I'd really love to go to visit there sometime in the future. I'm sure this place looks kinda fun and exciting.
I love your crisps by the way and they're really nice. My favourite flavour is cheese and onion.
I remember I tried Tayto (Northern Ireland known as the North as I refer to) for the first time while going on a day trip to Belfast with my father in summer 2009 and I thought it tasted great. I think it has a very similar taste to its counterpart in the Republic.
Anyway keep up the good business.
Greetings from Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪.

Absolute rubbish, so many excellent crisps around these days. Latest packets no better than floor sweepings, all broken and crumbs. Contact via website says could take three weeks to respond! Used to be good but no longer.
Alistair Johnston — Google review
Our very lovely guide on 10-04-2019 was super knowledgeable about the production from start to finish (a proper factory graduate, not just somebody hired to carry out tours!). The tour itself was generous in details and the time given, and it was lovely to sample the finished goods hot off the production line! Everybody loves a really nice crisp and as people who know, know, there's no-one better that 'Tayto' for crisps, so whether you're a local or have come a long way, we could not recommend a visit to see the action at Ulster's famous 'Tayto Castle' any more highly!

Does anyone else out there in crisp eating land find tayto multi pack cheese
& onion crisps devoid of Flavour and it's also a very hit & miss affair with their smoky bacon ... one packet might have a little flavouring and another none at all ... if (as TATO says) the secret's in the Flavour ... then one can only deduce the 'secret' must have escaped some time ago ... along with those responsible for administering flavouring !! ... Solution for TATO ..... just make all your crisps PLAIN ....... very few will notice the difference!! Have a nice day.

Great little place, had Jill as out guide and what a treat she was, lots of facts and very very funny, just made our tour fun. I don't know how many times she has taken groups around but she made me believe we were the first tour she had taken, I thought Disney were the only ones capable of that! OK its a factory...starts with potatoes....how exciting can that be...lol...the kids loved it and I enjoyed seeing a production facility, home grown and exporting.
One point I would make....outside an Enter Here sign above the little door at the bottom of the steps would be useful, press the intercom button and listen for the door being unlatched...push it and off you go. Parking is on the street leading to this door..not a problem for us on our day.
Highly recommended and the free crisps were a bonus.

Went on a tour of the factory yesterday, Becks was our tour guide. Very informative, interesting tour with samples of freshly baked and fried crisps, absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this tour. Trying to talk my cousins into going, hopefully I get to tag along for another tour and sampling.
Caitlin Allen — Google review
Tasty crisps are made here, and they do factory tours. We booked online through the Tayto website in advance, and when we arrived we were the only 2 people (out of a possible 45). Mr Tayto still came to see us, and we had a very personal tour with our guide Krystina. First she gave use a history lesson, and some lesser known insights around the same flavours being different, then answered all our questions (including about the North - South Tayto arrangement). The tour of the factory itself was an interesting and enjoyable experience, with aprons full of crisps, and our heads full of knowledge.
