Outstanding medival castle. Great interior and view and nice sightseeing. There is a hotel in castle so you can have a rest before your next trip. It's said on the web site that there are night tours but haven't found the date when it is.

Absolutely in love with this place! It’s way out of the busy city life. If you are a person that loves to explore nature and the woods, walking through hidden path, then this is definitely the place for you! I walked with my dog for hours exploring so many little paths in the woods near the river and we weren’t even closed to seeing everything! Highly recommend

This castle is a larpers paradise! With over 125 rooms, I imagine they host a lot of events. We loved the compound and loved that you could stay the night at the castle. It’s a little rustic but that’s part of the charm that make this authentic and interesting. The overall ambiance was fantastic. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and there was a market on site as well that added to the ambiance. There is a tasty restaurant and a cafe on site. We were introduced to the honey mead, which was quite nice. Also the castle beer is a must try - very smooth with hints of citrus. Wish I had brought some home with me.

Very cool medieval castle being used as a hotel. If you want a cool experience without the pampering, this place is for you. Great views and medieval vibe.

Very big. Has lots of stuff to wiew. But it is far awh from town or the main roads. If you don't mind driving through small narrow roads, then I guess it is fine.
Breakfast was standard polish one.

Very interesting tour of the inside and photogenic place 😍 Interesting that it had multiple purposes during world war two and that the rooms can actually be used as guest rooms. A bit of a pity that it's not in great shape but it's still awesome!

We’ve gone to this castle twice and couldn’t get in. First time the castle was occupied by Harry Potter’s fan and nobody was allowed to get inside. The second time we came here with a small dog and exactly these days dogs were not allowed to get here. Staff was really furious and aggressive too.

Czocha is a lovely castle situated in a beautiful location, I've visited it twice and although I've not been inside, even spending time outside the castle is great.
Recently we attended a 'Medieval Food Festival' which was awesome, sampled lots of Polish food from across the ages (prepare fresh of course though 😄) and it was an awesome day out. Highly recommend If they organize this again.

A wonderful setting surrounding a brilliant castle.
Scenic views that were amazing with the snow that we had.
The only issue is that if you are staying on the 4th floor, make sure you are fit as its not easy getting up there and back down with heavy or bulky luggage

Fantastic place. A good day if you are in the vicinity. They serve okay food and have really nice rooms. The castle is well kept and renovated. It's a treat to see all the rooms and if you're lucky you can see some of the secret passages behind the secret Doors 😯 and if you have enough money you can rent the whole castle, which is very cool 😯

Great castle. But there is a big "but". Only guided tours allowed and you see not that much of the famous castle. The tour is very long (over 1h) for what you see, not available in English. First room - 15min talk. The tour guide closes with advertising restaurant and whatnot. I don't pay for advertising. Given we drove 1h to get there I find it was not worth it.
Aija Kalnaja — Google review
We’ve visited the place 5 years ago and it was amazing. Came back last week and realized that the place is falling apart. The service is great, the restaurant food is delicious, but the place itself needs urgent maintenance.
Linas Adamonis — Google review
Great and impressive castle with lots of history behind its walls. The local guide was super knowledgeable and eager to share her passion and excitement about this place.
I highly recommend the restaurant as well, the food was just exquisite!
Paulina Farkas - Krakowiak — Google review
If you are not a polish speaker, just forget about visiting the castle. Only guided tours are possible, and you will be "welcomed" by a very unpleasant man that will make you clearly understand that only polish is spoken there.
A lesson on how not to attract tourists from abroad.
Jean-Philippe Thery — Google review
A fascinating place to take a tour. The hard working tour guide really goes into detail about the history and the building. She should be kept as was great learning through her guidance. Did not stay at the hotel, so no comment.
raj badhan — Google review
As a hotel it should disappear as *** hotel - it’s just not what people are expecting when they’re here. Quality and cleanliness don’t exist.
In regards to castle as a museum - it has stopped in time 30 years ago. Staff is unfriendly and rude, besides instead of doing job which were paid for - they preferred discussing political choices. It’s disgusting and disappointing to have staff trying to control or convince people who came to visit a castle to specific political orientation.
Sorry it’s a red flag.
Kamil NOWAK — Google review
This is an awesome castle, great views and everything! I really like the medieval vibe that this castle gives when you're inside it. I really recommend visiting this place, it has epic views, no trash, many things to look at and beautiful cobblestone buildings surrounding the castle! At the time i am writing this, the roof in front of the river is currently under construction.

One of the most interesting castles I’ve been so far. It’s so beautiful, exteriors and interiors, there were some secret doors I found when I was there🤪🤪🤪Spent the night in the castle felt exciting yet scary at the same time when you went for the night tour visit with awesome way of storytelling from the staff. The atmosphere was indescribable, you can see it for yourselves, I highly recommend the night tour guide for this castle and you can thank me later 😉 but one thing I would change is that there’s English version of the story so it would be even more fascinating for me 🥰🥰🥰

(I refer to sightseeing, not to hotel).
Very good condition of the castle, moderate pricing, tour guides definitely know their job
Wojciech Fluder — Google review
Just sightseeing, not staying overnight. So much history and still to be discovered, must-see if a mystery fan. Discoveries happening as we speak. Worth to visit again after a while. It is a beautiful place and definitely worth visiting however, not equipped to handle so many tourists (toilets).
A beautiful place, a wonderful church near the river, Poland on the other side you can see

It's a nice old church full of history. When you wanna take pictures it costs 1.5 euros. Entrance is free

Cascading falls reachable by wooded hiking trails, with a tourist cafe near the entrance.
It was a nice easy walk to the waterfall. And really easy to pay the park entrance fee. There is a QR code that you can scan at the beginning of the trail. The waterfall is beautiful and the sounds of the water are so peaceful.

Very nice and calm place, comfortable path. Forest and river are in one scenery 😍
Palina Karpovich — Google review
Amazing place, worth visiting. Be ready to wait for a bus for a long time, or order taxi. The waterfall is truly breathtaking and so is the path under the hill
Andrii Yukhymchak — Google review
Very nice (and easy) walk to the waterfall. You can keep going if you want. You can make it with the stroller which is great for family with little kids. It wasn’t that busy but we visited during the weekday.
Adam Jirousek — Google review
Nice but crowdy place. Waterfall height about 15 meters, full of water even in Summer times. Souvenirs shop and cozy restaurant very close to bottom platform. There is a need to pay entrance fee. Nice pawed sidewalk about 500 meters from entrance gate. Accessible for people with disabilities and child strollers.
Petr Dolej?? — Google review
I recommend buying ticket online just to make it faster. Waterfall is half a klick from the main road, it is really approachable access. 4 hour longer heights at recommend proper shoes.
PsychoDaD — Google review
Great place and it is not too hard to get to. The way to the waterfall is along a mountain river. Very pleasant walk. As soon as you enter the forest you call feel and smell the air is different - good place to go to in the summer to rest when it's hot. Please do remember to take good strong shoes with you and some cash / debit card to pay for the entrance to the National Park (9zl per person as of 2023).
We were surprised that in the middle of the forest there is even a "hidden" small shop/restaurant close to the waterfall so if you want to have something to drink or eat - it is there for you.
Adam I — Google review
Easy accessible place, even the people with disabilities may reach this place from east road.
Entrance from the east road has a cashier, entry from the city from west side has no ticketing.
Free access for large families having KDR.

Jane Mwende — Google review
Stunning place. Very easy access from the road so it's perfect place for the families with the small children and for the old people. The waterfall is beautiful. Behind the waterfall is the forest with the public footpath and you can walk straight to Szklarska Poręba. I can highly recommend.
Anna Rokitowska — Google review
Nice, easily reachable, well maintained. Reasonable entrance fee to keep the surroundings safe, clean and neat.
Close to CZ boundaties.
Close to Sklarska Poreba.
Nice walk in the forest.
Picturesque cascade of water in a mountain environment, with a nearby hostel & hiking trails.
A beautiful waterfall, with nice scenery. To get to the waterfall, you have to purchase a ticket (fair price of 10zloty per adult, can pay by card) and wait a line, as you are allowed to go down to the waterfall only with a helmet (so you have to wait until people come back and give you the helmet). Worth the wait!
Jaroslav Mida — Google review
The walk up from the street parking was refreshing, although the last bit had quite an incline and required some stamina to conquer given it was trudging through snow and some ice, raczki highly recommended. The visit to the waterfall was a little adventure, what with the winding stairs descending into the gorge, the clear water in the creek at the bottom and the viewing platform at the end with the waterfall burbling enthousiastically the highlights of my visit. We had a tasty kielbaska and mulled wine at the schronisko next to the waterfall entrance, warming, good times. On the way back I sincerely wished for a sled or raczki, but all in all a satisfying and succesful visit.
Rutger van der Linden — Google review
A very nice waterfall, definitely worth a visit. Although the road is mostly uphill and very stony - very demanding, impossible with a stroller or bike, almost impossible for little kids.
Parking is paid but the machines accept cards.
At the water, there is a queue, you go down the stairs, with the obligation to wear a helmet which you get after paying for entrance - 12/6 zlotys.
A little higher on the hill there are food stalls and even some restaurants.
The place is overall very crowded.
Veronika Lukešová — Google review
Very beautiful waterfall! Cost every step of leading road:) Recommend to wear proper hiking boots! You need to pay 10/5 zl for entering.
Anna Kapskaya — Google review
Admirable waterfall! Located at the impressive gorge. If you make it in the morning you wont stay in the queue or be surrounded by plenty of other tourists. At the entrance you should wait to get a helmet for your safety. In the day place could be very crowded, especially at the weekends. Make sure you have comfortable trekking shoes. Also at the top there is small cafe and bus shuttle which could take you to the car parkings.
Nataliia S. — Google review
To have a destination for walking it's fine.
Wonderful nature and the way is not too heavy.
Paying for the view downstairs is not necessary. You have a nice view from the platform above without waiting.
stephan radecker — Google review
The road up is in very bad shape. At the beginning damaged by heavy machinery (sad look how the forest is getting wrecked). Waterfall itself is very nice..very short walk down to a viewpoint. Is it worth to pay the entrance fee? That is the only thing I’m still wondering about. It’s super awkward to go up/down the staircase when crowded.
Adam Jirousek — Google review
Such an amazing time I had with this place, highly recommended 😍😍😍
Julie Griste — Google review
For a small price you get a helmet and can walk down to the waterfall, which is a nice experience. But otherwise there is a nice view of the waterfall from the side as well. There are plenty of tables for a picnick. The hike to the waterfall took us over an hour with a 4 year old.
vladas jankus — Google review
Make sure you have appropriate shoes because the path is quite difficult due to large stones sticking out of the ground. The waterfall itself is worth seeing.
Mateusz Dubin — Google review
2 options to see the waterfall. For free you can see it from up top by the in up the road through a metal grate. If you want to go down to the water, you can but then you need to buy a ticket. 15zl and you will need to wear a hardhat. Great views though, recommended 👍
Alina Tworek — Google review
Stunning area to visit in Poland, tickets are required and you are supplied with a helmet to wear will you make your way down.
It was busy on the visit so you can be held up on the stairway, best to be careful.
jasonXmythos — Google review
good view is from upper station explore whole length of waterfall.
you may go to buttom side for a fee. For big famalies with KDR the entrance is free of charge.
The paid downstairs entry is operating till 18, after this it is the entry door is locked. Have not seen any parking cashier after 17.
Vi Rom — Google review
Nice waterfall in the middle of a forest. The way up is challenging and if you have kids you most likely going to carry them. The road is made of stones and every step is like a stair. In the other side it’s not that far from the main parking place etc 2km. 🚶🏻♂️
Little bistro at the top and paid entrance to the waterfall valley with helmets ⛑️
The way seems to continue further to the forest. Usually very crowded area

Monopol. Prices are too high, and you can't buy 2, 4 hour tickets, just full pricy day... and as a bonus crowded and unimproved broken track, so you can't ski comfortably.

Despite it is a typical winter ski resort it is a perfect place for anyone looking for summer-active-holiday🌟 You can hike, bike, trail-run, swim..anything even on same day😁 You can choose from various types of accomodation from small appartments till wellness hotels. Food is delicious-just try local cousine😋 and as a bonus tempretures hardly reach 24🙏🏻which is like a dream for people living in a "hot"cities👍🏻

Slopes are well look after. Good organisation and availability of the skiing facilities. Maps are available in mamy locations.
Minus : routes are not clearly marked on the slopes, so it is try and error.
Unfortunately we had bad weather, but that's nobody's fault.

Very bad customer service. To buy a ticket is very complicated if done on the Internet. Tried topped up the card for my daughter as the lady suggested in the ticket office. However, when we got home and tried to do it over the Internet, it wasn't working. So I had to go back to the office where we have been told her card has been blocked and we have to buy a new card. I don't understand why they couldn't tell us the day before when we were there. Also, the people in the office are very unfriendly and do not help. I am very disappointed as the prices are the same as in big Austrian ski resorts where you receive much better quality of customer service and better quality of ski lifts and slopes. Also, it is the end of the season, and prices are still like in peak season.
Mumlava Falls is a picturesque alpine river cascade located in Krkonose National Park. In the fall, the park transforms into a colorful tapestry of red, orange, and gold, creating a vibrant backdrop for hiking adventures. Visitors can access the falls by hiking along marked trails through the forest. The paths offer different experiences, with one being narrow and leading through the woods while the other is wider and more accessible.
Sort walk, kids friendly, great view of the waterfalls.

Very beautiful waterfalls and a nice walk to them from Harrachov. There are two paths, one is more narrow, but it's nice and leads through the forest, we took it to reach the waterfalls, and returned by the wider road where people also went with skis. Waterfalls were not crowded, we could take picures easily and without waiting for more than a minute or two.

Frýdlant is one of the most visited historical buildings in the Czech Republic. The original castle from the middle of the 13th century, expanded in the 16th century by a Renaissance castle, became the property of the famous warlord Albrecht of Wallenstein in the 17th century. The last owners, the Clam-Gallas, made the castle collections available to the public as early as 1801, making Frýdlant the oldest castle museum in Central Europe. The entrance to the castle area is the same as two hundred years ago via a drawbridge. From the Swedish courtyard, the path continues up to the large castle courtyard and from there it climbs up a steep path to the castle.

Liberec Zoo is an impressive zoo that features rare-species breeding programs and exciting activities such as sea lion and penguin feeding times, as well as elephant training. The star attraction of this zoo is its special white tigers, which are definitely worth seeing if you're in town. Although the animals have rooms that may seem smaller than expected, it's important to remember that this is still a zoo. Visitors can easily spend two hours exploring the various exhibits on display.
Lovely zoo with many interesting animals. The Entry fee is really low. Can recommend planning to visit again this year
Pavel Plšek — Google review
We visited this zoo with our 2 kids. The entrance price is very affordable (€5,- for adults) and the zoo itself looks nice with lots of trees.
Many cages are kinda small for the animals and needs renovation.
There are 2 play ereas for the kids. Both are fun and looks neat.

Very nice zoo with special white tigers - the main attraction. Definitely worth visiting while in town. You can spend there like 2 hours. The cats seems to have a smaller rooms that I would expected. That’s actually similar for all animals here - you would think they should have more space but yeah, it’s a zoo 🤷🏼♂️ there is only one restaurant and one cafe so when visiting during weekend the line was ridiculous.
Pavel Bodiš — Google review
Well-maintained zoo, some food stations with fast-food. There are WC, beautiful area in general.
Evgeniia — Google review
Smaller than other Czech zoos, but you can still spent few enjoyable hours there. It seems more oriented to families with little kids since there are multiple playgrounds spread throughout the zoo.
David Luksch — Google review
This is the oldest zoo in Czech republic, and it shows. It's not big like some other zoos, so you can see it all in 2-3 hours. The location is beautiful, with hillside paths, natural stream and the lake. The animals are well kept, even though during the winter many of them are confined to small enclosures or even absent at all.
Roman Kovbasjuk — Google review
The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the fact that animals are in horrible small cages and pens. Animals are looking bored and sad. Specially elephants, which are the most smart and sensitive mammals , I seen the same elephants in the same small yard even after 13 years that's the time when I visited zoo last time. They are still there at same small place, looking very sad, why you don't swipe their yard after few years with some other animal? Just to keep their mind busy, to explore and to be happy ? I have seen 1 elephant repeatly doing one move with head and front legs which is sympton of nervosity and psychical problems . Other one was lions and tigers behind the glass, no grass no space to run or jump on the trees . Yes it's nice to see them, so you keep them on eyes, but behind a glass and such a small place ? We will understand if we don't see them, just let them be more free . They have no privacy no relax just stress . Monkey at photo was also pretty bored, I think if he got some hay or some bedding will be more soft and fun for him to play in it.
Zoo also looked kinda dirty in yards with animals, and stinky a lot more like in other's zoo's. Otherwise I like that zoo, there is a lot of things for kids to do, a lot of animals but I feel sorry for small yards .
Martina Bajusova — Google review
When we first found out about the zoo, we didn't expect much from it, since the ticket prices were really low (6€ for adults, 5€ for students!!).
BUT WE WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! This Zoo is large, we spent 2 ½ hours here and were running out of time by the end!
Very very very nice place, it has so many animals and the terrain and location are really nice. Most of the animals are kept in relatively animal friendly enclosures, there were many baby animals, showing that the animals living there are content.
There are several smaller and bigger playgrounds for children to enjoy, most of the zoo is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Staff is very friendly, even though they do not really speak foreign languages, they will try their best to communicate. I loved it!
Only thing I wished for were more languages on the signs explaining the animals, they were only in Czech but I don't blame them. The animal names were written also in English, German, and another language I can't remember right now.
Overall great experience, I had a truly wonderful day!!!
iQLANDIA is a science museum that offers interactive and educational displays, demos, and experiments suitable for families. The center provides an opportunity for children to learn while having fun with their parents or guardians. Besides being kid-friendly, it also caters to adults with various fun experiments of interest. The place has a buffet that serves inexpensive but delicious meals such as soups. It's recommended to set aside at least four hours to explore everything the place has in store.
Amazing place to go with kids or even with your spouse. Fun little experiments both for kids and adults, it's better to take at least 4 hrs to watch everything there is.

Good to visit, when weather is not advising to be outside. Many interactive objects, 5 floors, pram accessable. Nice canteen.
From minuses: some spaces has not enough breathable air and WCs has no space for babies to change diapers.

Nice place to go. I would recommend to go there during the week in the afternoon when it is less crowded. Many expositions, lots of learning and fun for the whole family.
Be careful about parking - free parking in front of building is quickly full and you have to look for paid parking around.
I would recommend a bottle of water to take with you - expositions are long.
And it is a pity that some parts are not functioning. I hope it will be fixed again.

Two 30yo girls spent a few hours in iQlandia and they enjoyed it very much, yes I was one of the girls. The weather was too hot outside and our bus was to leave in 5 hrs, so I took my GF to iQlandia as I always wanted to go there, it was great. We also had soups from the bufet and they were quite good for the price. I was overall very much satisifed, to my liking it was not crowded as probably people spent their time outside > by the prehrada as it was hot that day, so yay for me :D and I won at Clovece nezlob se.

Pretty busy during weekends,...I would definitely go there during the week.
What I didn't like at all, is lack of hygiene...everything is sticky and I felt the need to use sanitizer every minute. The experience itself is very nice, and I do recommend it, but needs some improvements. Some of the items were out of order. The appropriate age is above 8 yo.

This place was super fun I’m really surprised. It was listed as for kids but adults can have fun here too. Things were written in English too which is great and really inclusive. I will be sure to return because I didn’t see all the things and I was there for 2 hours! Or more

A must-to experience: every school supposed to be like this: there would be much more talents on the world, instead of taking away cildren's interest about sciences in a boring classroom, forced them to sit there for hours...

A great place for all the family. Multi levels to explore themed around concepts, space maths etc. There is also an observatory simulation to watch an interesting space show. But must book in advance. Parking is Simplon pay as you go. We really liked the design and I am surprised why more cities don't have places like this.

Worst experience ever. We didn't even make it into the center. The employees at the entrance didn't bother to bring order to the people waiting. People that bought tickets online just pushed to the entrance while everybody else waited orderly. We also thought about buying online while waiting but just didn't want to be as rude as a lot of the other visitors. No employee cared about it. Extremely unprofessional especially the one taking care of people going in and out.

We enjoyed a lot as a whole family, There is some stuff that will make fun for adults, for bigger children and also for smaller ones. We also liked the idea of having a separate floor dedicated to different areas. Things like thermovision camera, water floor, the option to test yourself as a TV person presenting the weather, The music spectacle from lightning and many, many more. There is also a bar, but we did not try. You can spend all day there if in need to check all what they have there. Worth to mention that this attraction is also part of verall package with the overnight hotel stay and you can use it even after checkout, but need to inform at the font desk to get a pass.

Ještěd is a high peak located near Liberec, housing a restaurant, hotel and television tower. The architecture of the building is extraordinary and highly recommended for enthusiasts. Visitors can access the peak by road or cable car to witness the tremendous view it offers. It was built in 1973, preserving its timeless beauty till date. In winter, it provides an awesome experience that is worth the trip every time.
Place worth visiting. There is possible to drive by car to the top of the mountain, but I don’t recommend using high cars. On the end there is a tunnel with max high 3.2 or 3.1 meter as I remember.

Nice walk up the mountain with good weather. We parked a bit up the mountain as the cable car was out of function and we didn't want to do the full hike. Still a nice half our trail up, with pretty views.
Jested is nice to see at the top and get a snack or drink.
Depending on the weather I would do this again.

Amazing trip, mountain surround by beautiful nature, way to the top leads you thru hiking route in forest. On the top place has restaurant, hotel as well as small snack bar outside. From the top you have 360 degree view. Recommend that place as weekend trip and for people who like hiking. 30 min away by car is already Polish boarder.

Tremendous view. Spaceship has landed. Already in 1973! Time stood still here. A must for fans of extraordinary architecture. The rooms are great, but do yourself a favor and take a big one. It’s worth it. I love that place.

The hotel is a great piece of architecture, you can tell it was built in the 70s. The atmosphere is right there and I enjoyed every second of it. But Ješted isn’t only the hotel, it’s a great view spot. You can easily see the whole city. The panorama is just gorgous no matter where you stand. And the line ride is quite fun! Remember if you have an Euro-Nysa ticket you can get a discounted ticket for the line ride :)

Remains of a medieval monastery & castle on a rocky crag, with guided tours & mountain views.
Our historical experience takes around 1,5 hour to explore whole castle. Majestic views, beautiful scenery and vibeish architecture. In the midl is small kiosk ( very expensive) the entrance per adult 8€, good price 😁. You are free to walk around, make a photos & videos 😊. Parking has two options, near the castle or under the hill and then 30 min walk. We preferred the walk 😉

I was really really surprised when I saw the castle and especially the dome. It is simply amazing. The castle is quite large and you shall consider two hours at least for the visit. Entrance for family is € 17. Parking for 4 hours € 3.

Really cool🤩here is why:
- 🅿️ close and cheep
- short and easy-ish access😇
- thought it’s a ruin, it’s well maintained
- beautiful landscape, stunning walls and remains of the Castle. Wide range of terrains and and architecture.
- restaurant✅
- Kids friendly (in our case 4,6 years old)
- it also includes many different indoor expositions (DE & CZ)
One of our top 5 ruins✅

It's an amazing creation in the nature. There is no word to describe it! 2hrs aren't enough to discover each of beauty! A place certainly to see!
Relaxed accommodations in a restored hotel with a low-key restaurant, a spa & a rustic tavern.
Excellent experience at this beautiful, well-located hotel. Booked an economy room and received an upgraded room with a complementary bottle of wine. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Lunch and dinner were very good and the breakfast buffet was exceptional -- the best we saw after a couple weeks of travel through the Czech Republic.

Only visited the ground, but was shocked you had to pay to look around. Went into the tower, which contained little to no information. Didn't stop to eat as the reviews are generally poor.
raj badhan — Google review
We booked 3 nights at the hotel in August 2023. We booked a room with a view but got a free upgrade for the bridal suite, without even asking for it! Obviously, this was a happy surprise. The castle itself is beautiful and the views from both the room and the courtyard, were stunning. Our room was decorated with furniture that fits the castle's historical entourage, which made it extra special! The area around the castle is perfect for hiking and any sorts of outdoor activities. The restaurant is of decent quality, although we also found some good restaurants in the town nearby. We did notice some cobwebs and dust in different corners and corridors, but weren't bothered by it. If anything, it added to the feeling of living in a romantic, centuries old castle.

Updated review:
Another wonderful magical stay! Coming back 5 years after we had our wedding here and with our son, I was worried it would not live up to my memories, but it exceeded them! The whole surrounding area is seriously enchanting with extraordinary nature walks, easy and unbelievably beautiful. The views cannot be matched, and the spa balcony is unreal! The staff of the hotel went above and beyond even with our more unusual requests. They upgraded us to the wedding suite which made our entire stay and allowed us to relive our best memories. The food is super tasty, the rooms and hotel are a little outdated, but have such magical character that it can totally be overlooked (especially for such a decent price).
Still a hidden gem with mostly Czech tourists so feels super authentic
As a modern princess with a romantic adventurous character, but without a princess's budget, I will say this is the ideal place and we will definitely be coming back as soon as possible.
Wonderful castle in gorgeous surroundings. Our wedding there was perfect! For the ceremony, meals, party and as a hotel. All our guests loved it and the staff went out of their way for us... Despite the rain and some logistical difficulties it was absolutely magical!

Haven't been to the wellness, but I love the restaurant!
Jana Mulacova — Google review
A beautifully situated castle with an integrated hotel. Unfortunately, however, it can only be recommended to a limited extent. "Wellness" & **** stars are listed somewhere, but I wonder how this is to be understood. Absolutely friendly staff, no question. However, this does not console over the fact that, for example, broken lamps were hanging from the ceiling in our room, there were no blackout curtains at all (although explicitly listed on the homepage) and the "wellness" theme was certainly not related to the atmosphere at breakfast. The fact that the door to the buffet is closed in the middle of breakfast time or, even better, that the caretaker ?? is drilling and screwing skirting boards on the floor between the tables occupied by guests with a cordless drill, has nothing to do with "wellness" and "holiday" in my opinion. It's a pity, because the building itself and the staff would be able to guarantee a dream holiday here.
Jan Jarnicki — Google review
Very lovely views, close to hikes.
Although we reserved 2 adults 1 teen the room was not big, not sure what happened. But staff was very accommodated. I hope it doesn't get overrun from tourists like in Prague. I like to see the locals and the originality of the place.
Lamat Mulac — Google review
The little imperfections that the other reviewers write of only add to the character of the place. Staying there was an experience we will never forget. The restaurant, bizarrely only has 3.5 stars rating, whereas for is it was the best and cheapest meal we've had while hiking the cesky raj, served by the most friendliest servers we've encountered.

This was THE BEST EXPERIENCE!
By chance we hiked past the castle, which is a hotel and went in to ask if they had a room available. YES, and at a very affordable price. The room was beautiful with an amazing view. The restaurant is very good, although it could do with some more options for vegetarians. The staff is exceptionally friendly and even those who struggle with English try their best to make your experience memorable.
I felt like a princess!
Ruins of a landmark Bohemian fortress built in 1380 on 2 steep basalt rocks, with sweeping views.
Beautiful walk to place connected to history and lots of Czech legends. Make sure you have change for parking as you can only pay by cash. Spring 2022 was just 80CZK but still they don't accept cards. Family friendly walk I'd recommend to everyone

just like the good old days... The robbery began in the parking lot))) Entrance to real ruins (nothing at all except piles of stones) the second part of the robbery. The third part of the robbery is fast food in a cafe with a beautiful view, but prices higher than the Eiffel Tower... Little music for a lot of money. I do not advise.

The entrance fee was not cheap so I was expecting more information and better infrastructure. Also you have to pay for parking. The castle was honestly more impressive from far and there were way too many people on a weekend. Maybe a weekday visit will be better.

Great views from up the tower. Quite a cool ruined Castle with a very cheap entry fee of only 140 or 120 crowns, cards are accepted which is nice since we had no cash on us.

Nice ruins of an old castle on top of a hill. About 10 minutes walk from the parking lot, you could enter without going on a tour. It takes about 45 minutes to see everything. With nice wide views from the battlements. I recommend going there if you're in the neighbourhood but don't go out of your way to visit.
Lore Clauw — Google review
Located some 10 km south of Semily - Liberec Region and being one of the most visited sights of the Czech Republic, Trosky is a ruins of a Gothic castle founded in the late 14th century and it became the main symbols of the whole Bohemian Paradise area (Český ráj) for its unique appearance and origin. The siting of the castle on two steep basalt volcanic made Trosky unconquerable as many enemies failed to capture it. However, no fortress can resist the hands of time, so even Trosky, abandoned in the late 15th century, began to gradually fall into ruin.
The castle was founded in the late middle ages, approximately between 1380 and 1390, when the owner of the domain, Čeněk (Lord) of Wartenberg, used the natural defensive features of the basalt rocks. He founded the inner castle with residential palaces on the ridge between both summits, and used the summits for defensive towers also with residential facilities.
The lower summit is 47 m high, called “The Crone” due to its stout appearance, bore the hexagonal two-storey building, accessible from the northern side of the palace. On the higher and slender summit, “The Maiden”, a rectangular palace was built, originally with three floors, allegedly containing the castle chapel. The height of the Maiden above the first courtyard is approximately 57 m made it possible to build a defense system that made the inner castle inaccessible, and provided unlimited all-round view of the castle, its slopes, and wide area around it.
The defensive system consisted of three circles of ramparts, 1.5 to 2 m wide and up to 15 m high. All the courtyards are reinforced by sandstone blocks.
The palaces were only inhabited on the upper floors, and the lower floors provided enough storage space for supplies necessary under siege. Water was drawn from the castle’s own well (30 m deep) on the first courtyard, and from an elaborate system of rainwater tanks was built in the rock at the Maiden.
Thanks to its romantic atmosphere and unique silhouette it became a popular tourist destination in the 19th century and soon received the most necessary repairs. Currently, the castle is managed by the National Heritage Institute based in Pardubice.

Definitely a must-visit place if you are nearby. The views are stunning. The visit took us around 45 minutes only, including the short walk from and to the parking. As usual, if you cone at 9.00 in the morning, there are no crowds at all.

Beautiful castle and amazing views from 2 towers. Only 4 stars because all the info boards were only in Czech and they did not provide cards about castle history in different languages like they have in other places. Lots of stairs, but quite easy.
Nature area famous for its sandstone spires, with wooded hiking paths passing between the rocks.
It's definitely worth seeing. It's about 1.5h from Prague. You can choose a route which will be the best for you and admire the beauty of nature. I recommend to go there in the morning to avoid tourists. Rock structures are impressive and the views are awesome. You can rest on the beaches on the route or at the observation deck. Some stairs are small and steep, so you have to be careful. Fortunately, there are handrails at the stairs

Wow wow wow! Not enough words to describe the great experience at prachov Cliffs. We took the long walk, 3.5 km it actually took us 3 hours. So many hidden places, climbing and great outlooks. And the best parr the park was almost empty which made the experience even better. Dont miss it.

One of the most outstanding rock areas in the Czech Republic. Simply stunning and absolutely a must visit when you happen to be near by. The 3.5 km walk (green sign) takes you to all the beautiful lookouts and has some nice easy climbing and steep stairs. We have been here in winter and there were only few people. But I think in summer the place is a lot more crowded.

Very beautiful, make sure you follow a route that follows the sightseeing points marked with a red star on the map (see foto), which I recommend and costs 30 czk. I asked a information lady to draw a nice route and it was stunning. You can have gluten free dinner here, make sure to get cash for that specifically, all other things you can do by card (tickets ed).
We took the red route from start to U1 and then took the green one back to T1 parking (main entrance). De did it in about 4 hours with breaks and detours.

It is an interesting place for a small hike.
It's what You can see in the pictures, big rocks sticking from the ground. There are few places where You'll have to squezze through narrow passages and the main problem is that if You're unlucky You'll have to wait for a long time for all the people from the other side to pass.
There is no system, and people can go both ways and they just keep on coming.
Parking/toilet is paid. Lots of people on nice weather weekend.

Amazing rock formations! We took the green route. It's about 3.5 km. This took us about 1.5 hours. It was well worth it and highly recommended.
Simon Otter — Google review
Lovely, well maintained natural preserve with excellently marked hiking paths. Green one will take you on a larger circle (count with about two hours and plenty of steep ascents). Outside of the tourist season the entrance and parking is for free and amount of people is very low, making it ideal for a calming hike. Some of the rock slits are less than 60 cm wide and there are a lot of steps on the path, so make sure your knees can take it and you won't get stuck anywheres. Plenty of viewing points on the track providing breathtaking view of the rock maze. Make sure not to step outside of the beaten track - it is illegal and can be dangerous.

Absolutely amazing!! It's possible to reach by bus and a long uphill trek (which is how we got there) but much easier by car. There is so much more there than we expected. Very nice (and not very popular) place to visit. If you like mountains, and do not like crowd, this is something for you. We were hiking with 4 years old child, some places can be difficult for so small kid. But if we handled it, you also can do it. We definitely need to come back here.

Amazing scenery!!
We mainly took the green route and a small part yellow on the end, which covers all wonderful viewpoints. A route map can be found at the start of the trail.
The route brings you through some steep climbs by stairs, some amazing viewpoints over the rock formations, and beautiful walks through the forest and some narrow (shoulder-width) passages through split rocks.
This full route will take you about 2 to 2,5 hours including stops to admire the scenery, take pictures, and have a small break.
Parking costs you 100Kc (€4) if you park in the designated parking area. A parking assistant wil put you to a halt on the main road and collect the parking fee.
The entrance fee to the rock area is 120Kc per adult, and will be collected at a small stand near the main walking route.
Be aware that both fees must be paid in cash.
If you are visiting Czech, this is a must-see!
The ŠKODA Muzeum is a museum located in a renovated production plant that showcases the history of the famous Czech auto brand through classic cars. It is an ideal destination for anyone interested in learning about Czech auto history as it offers an informative tour with knowledgeable guides. The admission rates are reasonable and there is a gift area for auto enthusiasts. In addition to the main museum, visitors can also request to see the depositary where raw gems are kept in a separate building.
Really nice place, very pleasant exposition. According to my opinion much nicer than VW museum (as that one is exposed in really heavy industry environment and seems like whole museum was forgotten in past years in Germany). Also we loved interactions possibilities. We want to visit it again, but with our 8yo son. Great job done Skoda!

Cute little museum with an array of cars on display. Admission for adults is 100CZK. There is a cloakroom, cafe and gift shop on site. We spent an hour there enjoying the exhibits. My only criticism is that I wish the descriptions for each display had more of an overarching narrative and a greater explanation about the design features and its evolution.

Very new and informative. I recommend to go to depositary also, there are the raw gems. But you have to ask to take you there, it is in a separate building. The tour in the museum itself is max. 2 hours. Child friendly with a few driveable toys.

Greatest part is factory. Walking along cars being made on your watch. Starting from metal sheets, ending as a ready to drive vehicle. One car made every minute. You won't see all process but certainly some interesting parts of it.

⭐⭐⭐ The Škoda's Temple ⭐⭐⭐
At the beginning I would like to thank the lovely 🇨🇿 Czeck girl ❤️❤️❤️ who works at the Škoda Museum and who lent me few CZK to buy a little souvenir last Saturday. Even I won't see you again 💔😭 I would like to thank you for your good heart and information you gave me about the company, historical L&K factory that burned out and places in Mladá Boleslav where Škoda produces its cars. Škoda Museum should be proud to have such fantastic employees. Good things come back! 🌈
The visit in the museum was a really outstanding experience. It presents the history of the brand starting from Laurin & Klement company producing Slavia bicycles 🚲 up to newest cars 🚗.
There is a glory wall for rally trophies collected by Škoda and its drivers 🏆🏆🏆 and a place that presents how old historical cars are rebuilt and turned back into live 🔧.
Unfortunately, the visit in the factory plant was not possible due to COVID-19 pandemic 😭
In my opining Škoda should introduce a tour with foreign speaking guide in Polish language. A strong minus for that. Poland 🇵🇱 is one of most important sales market for Škoda brand.
I would also recommend the museum to show how the cars are designed and produced nowadays by using amazing materials from Škoda Storyboard webpage with designers and engineers. It is a missing part of exhibition.
A Škoda fan

Wasn't open when we got there (weekday out of season). Nonetheless a beautiful place. The castle is amazing and the surrounding area is amazing for hikes and walks.

Parking is 100 Kc. Walk up a steep set of stairs, and there is the castle. Can partially walk around it, but full access to tower and building is 120 Kc. Open every day, despite what Google says.

Breathtaking castle and views! Absolutely loved my visit, and would highly recommend it. Nice staff, and a cute little gift shop.
However... it's quite an uphill hike to get here, and is full of many steep staircases, and so you should be in ok shape with ok mobility if you want to come here.

Although the castle itself is a gem, we were a little bit disappointed. The guy who guided us in the castle building was so bored and absolutely not client oriented. Nevertheless, we loved the place.

Very nice castle which is in good condition. You can pay 100 czech koruna fee for the tour. They don't do it in English but they have printed text you can read about the castle. You can climb up on the top of the tower, it is a gorgeous view around the forest.
They have birds like ravens and falcons which you can take pictures with.

Kokořín Castle is located in the middle of a nature reserve on a steep rocky outcrop above the Kokořín Valley, north of the village of the same name, only 40 km from Prague. Built in the first half of the 14th century (first recorded mention dates from 1320) and heavily damaged during the Hussite Wars, the Austrian Emperor Ferdinand included this desolate medieval residence in “the cursed castles”, which were forbidden to be repaired after the Thirty Years War.
The castle became a refuge for marauding knights who threatened the wider surroundings, but later served as inspiration for many 19th writers and painters.
When it was purchased at the end of the 19th century by Václav Špaček, an aristocrat from Starburg, it had already been only a deserted ruin for a long time. He reconstructed the castle very expensively under the supervision of leading historians of the time (A. Sedláček, Z. Winter and Č. Zíbrt). The reconstruction lasted between 1911 and 1918 and then opened it to the public.
After 1950, based on the agrarian reform laws, the castle was nationalized by the communist government.
Kokořín Castle has been a designated national cultural landmark since 2001. As late as in 2006, the castle was restituted to the hands of the Špaček family heirs.
Housed in a landscape full of forgotten villages, small lakes, and sandstone, you’re in for a lovely surprise at the place.

Had an amazing time in Prague and decided to explore some places outside of the city. Was lucky to have family that knew where to go and wasn’t disappointed.
Entry was cheap and parking next to nothing.
The walk from the car park was long and up a steep road and up a ton of stairs but worth it in the end.
The castle itself isn’t huge but the view from the top was lovely. Lots of walks and beautiful countryside and lakes in the surrounding area.
If you’re there it’s worth a visit.
It's very good accessable and good hall for conducting conferences. Capacity of 40 to 120 people. Natural ground water having medicinal values to cure heart diseases (it's available for free here).

Beautifully located conference/event place. The equipment such as audio/video/networking/power supply is at an acceptable though not perfect level.
Jakub picked me up at my hotel in Prague and we had great conversations on our way to and from the off road property. He is a safe driver and a patient instructor.
The property offered fun terrain and obstacles for new and experienced off roaders. The Range Rover Discovery was a great vehicle for this activity and was well looked after.
Overall a good value and fun day outside of Prague, but within a manageable drive of the city. I highly recommend it if it’s the least bit of interest to you!

Family of 6 riding quads and shooting guns. Tons of fun! The Owner took the time to make sure my younger children could ride and let them practice before the whole family embarked on the quad riding. Very large gun collection with opportunity to shoot several types of guns! Kinda wished we had done more, like ride the tanks, but didn't have enough time! Would definitely recommend!

I would highly recommend this for anyone visiting the area. The whole team were very helpful from the beginning of the organising process. The instructors were friendly and informative which helped to make you feel safe. A group of 14 of us did the quad biking and shooting. If I ever return we would definitely look to try some of the other activities. Thank you for a great day out

So, personnel was great, super nice and helpful guy who took us on ATVs. However, the course is not really for the beginners. My wife barely made it. She did go into a ditch, thank god nothing serious.
However, one of the guys hit me behind and the owner made him pay 15 000 czk for a dent. That’s steep. All he did is dent the protection bar, they are made for that.
My advice, think twice before committing to it because if you fall or hit ATV you will end up paying the price.
Otherwise, good fun for sure

Wow pure action and a real men's playground (of course also for women who like to drive tanks or shoot)! Top organised, great service and a unique experience! The tanks and all the weapons are in good condition.
And very important: you get to drive the tank yourself. Highly recommended!

A huge thank you to Martin and Jakub for our recent quad biking experience with Offroad Action. I contacted Offroad Action a few months ago to arrange a quad biking experience for a group of fourteen friends for this weekend just gone. Martin and the team were extremely helpful throughout the process of arranging the experience and on the day we all thoroughly enjoyed our time. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in doing something similar. Great value for money and really nice people to deal with! On behalf of my friends and I, thank you again for making it a great experience for us all.

All Building, castles, bunkers,…are well and safely build, so you don’t have to be afraid that the kids get hurt👌

Unbelievable stunning adventurous family park, I wasn't expecting this amazing interactive whole day entertainment for our family with two little children 2 and 5 years old, simply perfect, love it, will come back. Designer did a beautiful job, like Gaudi. Great work! Don't miss it, really cool, unique place!

This is just an amazing and very organized place to spend your time with the kids of all ages for a whole day.
There is large parking space which is organised in a clear way by the workers. Food is available all over the park and the place is clean. Even though there were a lot of children we did not feel any chaos.
The attractions are pure fun, based on climbing, jumping and playing, it is basically a huge playground with many themes but it does not get boring. We found a driving park, tree house park, trampolines, a labyrinth, a clown show and a deer park.
The entry costs 300 czk per person and it is wortg every penny

My daughter and I absolutely love this place. Yes, the entrance fee is 320kč but it is entire day and it is really well maintained. We usually go 2x a year, spring and fall and we usually prefer weekday. One time we went on weekend and it was little too many people for our liking. I can't wait for the new area to open and for our spring 2024 visit.

I highly recommend here, even to the tourists who visit Prague. I think it is comparable to Disneyland and Legoland. :-) and it costs 720kc for 2 adults and 2 children. it will make you the highlights of your family visit to Prague and Czech Republic.

Great venue for children to rain around and burn some energy. Very well organized and it has a big parking area. Food stands very well distributed throughout the whole park. I definitely recommend it.

Love love love. Amazing value. Amazingly well maintained. Whoever invented this place knows exactly what families want. Found it by accident and we are so happy we did. No noisy machinery or roller coasters. Just wonderfully elaborate wooden castles, rope bridges, tunnels, and obstacle courses of all levels. Awesome water games area is a great bonus. Kids should bring a costume, but parents should be able to walk around without getting too wet. Perfect for kids age 4 to 14, with a few options for younger kids as well. Quite a bit of fun for adults too. Otherwise it's very easy to set the kids loose while mom and dad relax on lawn chairs or sip beer at a picnic table. We rearranged our vacation so we could come back a second day. We came during the week in the summer, no lines at all. No queues for rides. Weekends/local holidays might be more intense though, because the abundant parking and seating implies the possibility for larger crowds.

The best kid activity I’ve been to in my 6.5 years of parenting. Hands down worth visiting. My six-year-old daughter and I took the train from Prague. 50 minutes later, we were boarding a bus from the Milovice train station. Seven minutes later, we were buying tickets to Park Mirakulum. Here’s our experience.
1) Admission: It’s CZK 320 (around $15 USD) per person for the entire day. There are no discounts for kids. Once inside, you pay extra for food and drinks. Face painting is free.
2) Areas: You’re given a map with your ticket. Use it to help guide you to all the areas. It’s a large space, but everything is clearly marked.
Everything is well done and amazing in terms of fun and design, but my six-year-old daughter’s favorites were the volcano, the slide that requires an inter tube, the water world, the dark tunnels, the massive swings, the obstacle course, and try zip line.
Of course, each and every world was phenomenal, including the slides, rope tunnels, the maze, and more. As an adult, I also had a blast!
3) Food/Drink: They have stands everywhere and the food isn’t bad. We enjoyed the slushees, hot dogs, waffle on a stick, and the langos. Also, the coffee isn’t bad at all for an amusement park.
My daughter’s (and my) mine was blown by this place. Highly recommend!

The Czech Republic 🇨🇿 has not only a reputation as a beer 🍺 country.
The Elbe Lowland is one of the most northern wine 🍇 regions in Europe. The traditional stone terraces on the southwestern bank of the river Elbe create the perfect micro climate for winegrowing.🏞
The grapes are processed in a way to become lively, reductive, light wines with a typical bloomy and fruity varietal aroma. 💐
Take a tour to Melnik, a city situated about half hour drive north of Prague.
Your celler master takes you through 14th century wine cellar and offers you local wines to taste🍷🥂, accompanied by freshly baked local bread as well as cheese and other snacks.🥖🧀👍

The castle & view is magnificent, the cafe is good, but absolutely unacceptable experyfir 2023 that the huge restro inside doesn't accept credit cards or electronic payments, unprofessional, just wrong to support them. Worse part is that they don't tell you upfront and claim there is some message somewhere... It felt really like the horror stories from the 1990s travel experience, mediocre food, this place badly needs better/new management because it has the best location & worse services. Two start only because the cafe that is connected to it us actually great & accepts cards, great staff, decent cakes....but don't go to the restro

The Museum of Communism in Prague is a very well-presented and informative place which features propaganda posters from the Communist regime. It is fascinating to wander around and see all of the different items, from statues to uniforms. The museum also has short clips, audios, and display panels which help to put things into historical context.
The museum tells u a visual story of what communism and the soviet influence did to Czechia and Eastern Europe in general. I loved how detailed it described historical events but also the day-to-day life in the communist Czechia. Visit and allocate enough time to reflect.
Nika Arevadze — Google review
Some may argue that the arrangement of these artifacts and evidence indicates a certain bias, but I wholeheartedly dissent from this viewpoint. The museum simply presents events as they occurred in the past. It's a widely accepted fact that communism was a catastrophe in every country it was implemented. This includes the Czech Republic, where the collapse of communism eventually led to freedom of speech, which ironically allows one to express opinions about perceived bias.
Nien-Heng Yang — Google review
Excellent museum. Plenty of items and wtitten word...in Czech and in English. Audio visuals with ordinary people's experiences of life are well worth listening to - these have English sub titles. I spent 5 hours in here. Only drawback is it took some time to find the place. The entrance isn't particularly noticeable, halfway along a block next to a restaurant. But the actual building has the words MUSEUM on the rooftop. Definitly a place to visit

Outstanding museum. So much history. Really informative exhibits with a lot to read and absorb. I think they did a wonderful job explaining the pain and suffering the Czech people have gone through prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Velvet Revolution. Well done!!! Leave 2-3 hours to really get the most out of this museum. A lot to read and well worth the time if you love history.

It is a good place to check out and doesn't take a lot of time if you have a lot you want to see in Prague. The exhibits are designed well. You get a sense of the impacts that communism had on the lives of every day people. Children should see this museum to see that communism is horrible and a bad idea.

Well done modern museum but, hot damn, was that a lot of writing to read. Depending on your level of interest (and how much you want to read) you could spend 30 minutes or a couple hours walking around.
The day we went there were people there but it wasn't super busy, no need to buy a ticket in advance.

One of the better museums we visited in Prague. Lots of detailed information (lot of reading), great art and exhibition pieces to lead visitors through the history of communism in Europe. You can spend between 1-2 hours here depending on whether you also watch the film material. It's not too busy during week days.
Sylver Syl — Google review
There's nothing special about this museum apart from the pictures and history about the Soviet origins of the Czechoslovakia. OK, it's important to remember and tell the young generations about the devastating nature of the communism but charging approximately 20 Euros for the stories that you can easily find from a simple Google search or from the Wikipedia page of the communist Czechoslovakia is nothing more than robbery. If you want to learn about Soviets or communism in general, go read Orwell or GG Marquez or Solzhenitsyn or whatever but do not get conned by this so called museum.

So if you're stuck for something to do if the weather looks dodgy like for us and not enough time to to much and you like history give it a go also the under ground is right there

Good self directed museum summarising what it was like to live under communism rule, particularly in Czechslovakia. Covers all angles from everyday life, military, political, social and intelligence. I learnt so much today. I grew up when the Cold War was a real thing. The Berlin Wall existed. I knew very little of the lives of the people who lived beyond that wall in the states run by Moscow. What an education I received today. Fantastic exhibits.

At interesting museum covering the history of "Czechoslovakia" from 1938 to 1989.
The entrance was unfortunately obscured by a large school party, but apart from that, there was no problem with my visit.
I found most of exhibits interesting and there was a large amount of text to read, I spent a good hour/hour and a half in the museum.
The museum clearly has an agenda... Every thing in Stalinist (Communist) Czechoslovakia was bad! While I'm a man of the left, and I certainly have no time for the old Czechoslovakian "Communist" government, who used police state tactics against legitimate political opposition and crushed the Prague spring of 1968.
There were some jarring information boards, the Czechoslovakian Communist Party for all its many faults in 1948 had a large amount of support in the Czech part of Czechoslovakia which was glossed over and not really explained. Why and How it got that support?
Some boards were just silly... "there were no mobile phones in Czechoslovakia before 1989"
... The majority of the world didn't have mobile phones before 1989! The Golden Sixties board denounces for Czechoslovakia for only abolishing Saturday working in 1968... But I'm sorry many of us in the democratic West were still working Saturday's in the 1980s!
There was alot wrong with the old regime, no opposition parties, no free trade unions, no civic freedom... But nearly 40 years after the end of the regime, use the museum to put the past into proper context.
Saying all that it's still worth a visit...

This museum is full of anti-communist and anti-russian propaganda. I have never seen such a political influenced museum. I can’t believe I payed for this. Even things like a public sports events: spartakiads are criticized. They say it is because the state wanted their citizens to have the ideal body, while the health and bellies of people nowadays are the complete opposite. Shirts with matryoshka dolls with vampire teeth are sold in the gift shop, and the exhibition is nothing but negative. Soviets were the first in space, Soviets sacrificed so many people in world war two to fight nazism, almost 27000000 people , way more than americans and jews. At the end of the exhibition there is a poster which says: Russia has yet again shown that they do not care to have a place in a civilized world. Which made me so furious I almost ripped the poster off the wall. Look at russian museums, listen to Tsjaivosky, read russian literature and you will see how civilized Russia is. I don’t say communism hasn’t had it’s problems. But it has created much positive things too. Don’t change anything about the collection, but fire that curator and start to rewrite everything
again but be objective.

The Municipal House is a stunning Art Nouveau building in Prague that regularly hosts classical concerts and opera and ballet performances. It is also home to the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, who play in Smetana Hall. The venue is elegant inside and out, with many fine stained glass windows and paintings on the walls.

Alright, the place and concerts are super impressive. However, if they have a very small audience, maybe they could have sold the tickets from a lower price or at least inform people about if they have student discount or not. Also there was no one to escort you to your seat, which means some people could easily “upgrade” their seats during the concert. Other than that the building is stunning, happy to be there.

A nice show of Mucha’s art in a building that he helped to design.
The Municipal House has a small but beautiful collection of Mucha’s designs and artworks on display above the concert hall. However, it should be noted that these are primarily lithographs, in case people are very concerned with only seeing originals. The moving displays of his works are quite breath-taking, particularly the display of the Slav Epic.

The Municipal House is a stunning, early 20th century built, art deco themed (predominantly) concert hall with additional rooms.
We booked on the tour and were not disappointed. The tour guide spoke entirely in English, provided extensive knowledge of the whole facility and information about all the rooms, including the designers, artists and materials used.
The building is used regularly and hosts concerts often.
The ground floor restaurant is good with indoor/outdoor seating, although it has a limited choice of hot meals although they do creme teas (using crème fraîche). There is also a basement restaurant but we didn’t enter it.
Definitely worth a visit - the ticket fee is reasonable.

This tower was unusual as compared to the buildings around it. This looks like more older and didn't had paint, which is understandable as the building is has proper stone finishing outside. I was roaming the city and found many people in sport wear. Then I followed them and came to know that the day was Czech Run, which is an event of Czech marathon. I saw many international players participating in that marathon. I was there when the race was finished. Some runners from Africa were on the top lists who finished the race. There were many local artists who were singing. I felt a sense of happiness in all the people around. The race finished at this tower. The tower was originally built as one of the main entrances of the Old city. later the tower was used to store the gun powder and got its name as The Powder Tower. I had some photographs which I am sharing with you. I don't know ho it looks from inside but from outside it looks stunning. Beautiful architecture.

Enjoy the lovely view on top of this tower. Contrary to many other places in Prague, this wasn't crowded at all. Not too much to see on the inside apart from the building itself and a few sculptures, however, the view over the city makes visiting this place definitely worthwhile.

Visited powder tower in prague
Cost was 150 crowns per person
Least knew we would have to climb the 7 storeyed building
The view on top was picturesque.
Good for one time visit

If you’re not very physically fit, parts of this tower might be one of the harder ones to climb in Prague. But the view at the top is worth it, the location is a good one for views over Prague and the architecture of the walkway around the top is unusual for the city. It adds an interesting element the other towers in the city don’t have.

Amazing views of the city and not too many stairs to the top. There are also 3 floors dedicated to explaining the history and displaying artwork related to the tower. There also weren’t many people when I was there compared to other towers like the old city hall.

This is one of the 13 gates of the city. It is well know as most visitors walk through this gate towards the old town. You can climb the 186 steps inside the tower to reach the viewing platform at 44m, for views over the Old Town.

Beautiful views! Nice landings in between stairs to get a little break with some nice pieces to look at.
The stairs are very steep so be careful. I wish they had better signage/or more employees as when I went people went into wrong stairwells going up/down leading to panic as people tried to get around one another in the steep narrow stairwells - one person nearly fell! So be careful - but the views are worth it!

Really fancy and beautiful Cafe, where should i start.... The service is amazingly fast and the food is so delicious, the cake was so good, there is a life Piano music that makes the atmosphere super cozy, there is a Robot that drves around and collect the dirty dishes, the interior is like a barok stile nice and warm, and the prices are not so expensive. It is highly recommended

I recommend visiting this place. It was less crowded than the Astronomical Clock Tower. Although there wasn't much to see, I think it's a nice spot if the weather is good.

Really nice view of prague. The stairway is really narrow and longer than you think, but the view made it worth it.
Tickets are sold next to the entrance on the outside or with an vending machine inside. There's an 50% discount in the first hour of opening.
The Church of Our Lady before Týn is a Gothic landmark in Prague with elaborate carvings on its exterior and an impressive Baroque altarpiece. The church has been subject to numerous renovations over the centuries, but there's still much to see including beautiful tombs and an impressive pipe organ.
This church is architecturally beatiful. I went to a concert inside the curch and within 1 hour, while listening great music, I was able to look into the details inside the church. There are too many details and if you go for 5-10 minutes, it is hard to appreciate the beauty. Unfortunately visit is not allowed if there are prayer sessions or events. Considering it is built around 14. Century, details are impressive.

The distinct Gothic twin towers of this church are visible from large portion of old town area. The towers are very ornate with the signature Gothic spires that reached into the skies. It is almost as iconic to Prague as the Eiffel tower for Paris. Visitors are free to enter and visit during the day. It is amazing for a building of this size and scale to be built in 1400s. The furniture inside is Baroque in style, with intricate wood carving altars. There is also an antique organ in the church.

Incredible church that is already impressive to see just from the outside, it is a gem that you cannot miss on your visit. When you enter it leaves you speechless, it doesn't matter if you look at the sides or the center, it is beautiful, as I show in the photos.
100% recommended and free, which is appreciated when traveling.

Entrance to the church is free but you can’t give money as a charity to help the church. Inside of the church is for bidden to take photos but of course we didn’t hiding our phones and this is the only place where they didn’t allow us to take the photos at all. Usually they don’t allow to take photos like flash or they don’t allow it to take photos of some saints things. To answer the church must go through the passage in the building and make sure you check when the church is open and when the praying it’s not happening.
Nastja Prodanic — Google review
Very impressive church, it’s much worth taking a visit inside, it’s fit narrowly between buildings so you can’t see much of the outside, but in the inside it’s really impressive. The visit inside is free which is much appreciated, but you can voluntarily gift €1.5 for the renovation of the church

The Church of Our Lady in Prague, also known as the Týn Church, is a striking Gothic masterpiece that dominates the skyline of the city. As I approached the church, I was immediately captivated by its soaring spires and intricate façade, which exude a sense of grandeur and spirituality.
Stepping inside the Church of Our Lady, I was enveloped by a serene and reverent atmosphere. The dimly lit interior, adorned with magnificent stained glass windows and ornate altars, evoked a sense of awe and tranquility. The architectural details, from the vaulted ceilings to the meticulously carved stone elements, showcased the skill and craftsmanship of the medieval artisans.
One of the most notable features of the church is the mesmerizing astrological clock, which stands as a testament to the ingenuity of its time. The clock not only tells the time but also displays the positions of celestial bodies, providing a unique intersection of science and spirituality. Witnessing its intricate movements and rich symbolism was truly awe-inspiring.
The Church of Our Lady in Prague is not only a place of worship but also a significant historical and cultural landmark. Its towering presence and remarkable architecture make it an iconic symbol of the city. Visiting this magnificent church is an opportunity to appreciate the artistic and architectural achievements of the past while connecting with a sense of spirituality and history that permeates its walls.

The Church of Mother of God before Týn often translated as Church of Our Lady before Týn, is a Gothic church of the Old Town of Prague having Baroque style at the same time. The church's 80 m high two towers is said to mean Adam and Eve.
This church is just in the Old town square and there are many spots gathered closely each other in Old town square, it is very good to go one to the other.
Its towering appearance with gold plate which is visible from a far is really spectacular due to its location among low height buildings.
In particular, it is famous for its beautiful night view, so it is a must visit place to take night view photos. (Daytime photo is also mandatory)

In the 11th century, the Old Town plaza area was occupied by a Romanesque church, which was built for foreign merchants coming to the nearby Týn Courtyard.[1] It was replaced by an early Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn in 1256. Construction of the present church began in the 14th century. The church was designed in the late Gothic style under the influence of Matthias of Arras and later Peter Parler. By the beginning of the 15th century, construction was almost complete; only the towers, the gable and roof were missing. The church was controlled by Hussites for two centuries, including John of Rokycan, future archbishop of Prague, who became the church's vicar in 1427. The building was completed in the 1450s, while the gable and northern tower were completed shortly thereafter during the reign of George of Poděbrady (1453–1471). His sculpture was placed on the gable, below a huge golden chalice, the symbol of the Hussites. The southern tower was not completed until 1511, under architect Matěj Rejsek.

Review for Church of Our Lady before Týn:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Standing tall amidst Prague's historic heart, the Church of Our Lady before Týn is not just an architectural marvel but a source of inspiration that has transcended boundaries. Its majestic spires, reaching towards the heavens, coupled with intricate Gothic details, make it a sight to behold. There's an enchanting tale whispered through the cobbled streets that this very church influenced the iconic silhouettes of Disney Castles. And as you gaze upon it, the magic becomes palpable, a fairy-tale brought to life against the backdrop of Prague's skyline.
In a world where inspiration can be found in the most unexpected places, it's essential to have a guiding force to channel that motivation. Just as this church stands as a testament to human creativity and ambition, in my role as an international video personal trainer and life coach, I strive to help individuals tap into their potential, drawing inspiration from the world around and within them. Whether you're standing in the shadow of architectural wonders or embarking on personal journeys, remember to dream big, aim high, and let the world inspire you. 🌍💪🏼🏰.

Entrada libre

Really a church that makes the centre of the tower what it is. The sharp spirals are very unique for a church. It can be viewed during the day or even at night as there are a few lights to light it up. The square can get a bit busy so be careful not to lose people. Furthermore if you want food try walking atleast 5 mins aay and you will get better food and prices.
The Mucha Museum is a beautiful and informative museum dedicated to the life and work of Czech artist Alfons Mucha. With over 100 exhibits on show, it takes you on an interesting journey through Muchas life and art. Some of the highlights of the museum include many of his Art Nouveau paintings and decorative panels, as well as personal photographs, paintings, pastels, charcoals, lithographs, and memorabilia from his life.
You have to visit if you like art noveau. I enjoy looking at his art in Paris and when we was back in Prague. I also took some souvenirs from the shop to give to my friends. It is a small museum, you can spend one hour, one hour and a half top.

Is a beautiful, but small collection of Mucha art. If you’re a fan a must see. If not a fan you should see anyway as the artworks are even more impressive in original size and color. Also awesome collection of posters to buy.

A great place to start knowing one of the most important check figures that dedicated his life and soul to this country. The museum is not that big but very educative since it contains slices of the artist's work since the begings of his life. The museum's exponats are divided by time and the places that the artist had lived. Here you can see beautiful posters in art deco style, sketches impossible to reproduce, very few oil paintings and almost none of the Slavic epic but also some of his work for the image of the first republic: money, medals and documents. Visiting this museum is like knowing a piece of Mucha: the artist and the beautiful man that he was. You can see pictures of him and some personal items, also a short movie is available thanks to some family members. On my opinion, this museum is a must visit when in Prague if you want a glimpse of this country's past and not only some art experience.

Yes, it’s a small museum but if you’re a graphic designer or an artist you’ll find the exhibition very interesting. There are sketches, paintings and posters created by Mucha during different stages of his life. There’s also a little documentary at the end. For me, the visit lasted like 2 hours because I stopped on every detail, but I understand that if you’re not that into arts or design the museum is small. The gift shop has incredible things and it’s a shame that I couldn’t buy many of them because they wouldn’t survive the trip.
Arturo Rivera — Google review
I was mistaken. This place is a real shame.
I paid a high admission fee to enter the museum, but most of the exhibits were reproductions.
Moreover, the exhibits were in frosted glass, which made it difficult to appreciate them.
If they call themselves a museum, they should display their works in a proper way.
The first room had a good number of paintings, but once you go to the back room, the number of paintings decreases drastically.
I was like, what? That's all? I muttered to myself.
If there are so few works, it is much better to see the Mucha exhibition that is sometimes held in my country.
Mucha is my favorite artist, but I will never go here again.
It is better to buy a book and see it.

It is nice to have a museum dedicated to this artist but it does not really honor his life ´s work. I am a big fan of museums and I work in advertising, so you must understand what Mucha means to me. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The collection on the website don’t match the one in the museum. Didn’t find out much about his life, his relationship with Sarah Bernhard. Information incomplete about what made him the artist he was. Would not recommend, waste of money. Tourist trap

It may not be the most famous castle, but it is a genuine example of a working castle that is lived in by the same family that built the original part of the castle in 1241. The history in between was somewhat turbulent for the family, which makes for a fascinating story, and the visit was all the more memorable for that. I am glad I took the tour. Beautiful castle, well preserved. The guide is very talented, she knows everything.
The only (big) disappointment was when the guide told us at the beginning that it was forbidden to take pictures inside, except for those who buy a "license" at the cash desk. They didn't tell me anything when I bought it...I would have paid to keep some memories and share with my family and friends in France...
And the group was too big, almost 25-30 persons, in some small rooms, it was almost impossible to see anything :/

We had booked a tour of the castle but arrived very early, that's fine, we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, but then the lady from the ticket office came over and said she had spoken to a colleague and she would take us on our tour earlier than planned. That was above and beyond. There was another couple on our tour who were Czech speaking (we were only expecting Czech) but the delightful guide did her best to explain things to us in English as well, she must've been exhausted after that tour! It was actually a very hot day yet lovely and cool in the castle. There are some beautiful exhibits so I'd say worth paying for permission to take photo's too.

Konopiste Castle, located 2km west of Benesov, is a fusion of medieval and Renaissance architecture with a Baroque palace built on top. It was once the secluded country retreat of Archduke Franz Ferdinand dEste, known for his passion for hunting and devotion to St George. The castle's extensive grounds bear witness to these twin obsessions. Its historical significance lies in its association with the assassination of the archduke in 1914, which triggered WWI.
The castle has a history of Franz Ferdinands and his apartments, weapons chapel etc. A particular tour takes up to an hour and costs around 250kc per person (plus 60kc for the Audio device if you want an English translation)
You will see the old weapons used, his bedroom, Church, some garments, etc and the history behind them.
Aside that, there is a nice botanical garden arround full of roses and peacocks.
Its worth the visit.

It’s our favorite castle. We came here a long time ago and recently brought our kids back to see it. It has something for everyone. My 13 year old son loved the armory and the sheer amount of antique weaponry, plus the number of animals on display. My 18 year old daughter was enthralled with the grounds, the peacocks, bear and other animals, and of course the romanticism of the castle itself. There are 3 or 4 different tours depending on what you want to see. We were short on time so we only did the armory. We would have done another if time had allowed. One of our favorite parts was the little walk up bar next to the gift shop in the parking lot. It was run by the nicest gentleman and had wonderful sausage stuffed in bread, lattes and desserts. We sat outside on a beautiful day and enjoyed the area. It’s also very close to Prague. We stopped here on our way to Hluboka. We were able to do both tours in one day! You can purchase tickets in the ticket office and there is a nice, free restroom on site.

Such a difference such a short distance from Prague! We went as it was recommended by a Czech friend who has gone their for years. May I suggest the second parking area? The first had a restaurant and plenty of parking but the walk up the hill was very steep and unpaved.
Walking around the grounds themselves was delightful. Statuary, views, and verdant lawns were in abundance. Near the castle entrance was a clever display board with information on over a dozen areas of interest and history - in Czech, English, and German. Picking the language was easy I learned things I hadn't known.
We didn't get to see the castle interior as all the tours the Friday we visited were in Czech. Our Czech is not nearly good enough! But the courtyard was lively, with little cafes and a peacock! The small dog with us was curious but left the big bird alone.
We found out that dogs are not allowed in the Rose Garden as well as the castle interior. The garden, what we could see, looked colorful and well tended. But our favorite place at the foot of the castle hill was the lake. Peaceful, cool, and watching the fish jump was a nice break from the hustle of Prague.
Czech Republic has a true gem in this hunting castle by the lake. Please visit if you have a chance.

Amazing castle, the nearby gardens are huge so you can find a place where you can just sit and hang out. The tickets for the castle tour is fine (240 Kč/person, kids and seniors have a sale). There were multiple beautiful peacocks. Near the castle entrance is a exposition where were predatory birds. Parking is near the castle and just 60 Kč for a day. The nearby "rose garden" is gorgeous during the spring. I absolutely recommend a visit to this castle.

I couldn't find a way to combine 2 or more together without spending whole day here. English speaking people can get an audio book for 2 EUR (no english tours available today). Payment by card is possible, online information about tours is not matching reality.

We did not get to the castle territory itself, Sunday is a day off.
It is very beautiful around, you can walk for several hours enjoying the views. Also, on the territory there is a playground with deer and an aviary with a bear.

The place is really good for a day trip. Good place to discover history and how it changed. To know what happened to them and how beautiful where the armours. There are restaurant near. Big garden to wall around and even feed some animals. Its 30mins walk to city center to take transportation back to Prague. Great walk in the nature!

I feed discriminated because I cannot speak Czech. Tours in Czech, the audio guide talks about highlights. Does not cover the full tour.

Terrible experience!!! They have explained the castle experience is focus on the Czech citizenship only. Therefore the content in other languages are limited to avoid attracting tourist from other countries. The only room which worth the visit had a 30 seconds explanation in English and 15 min. In Czech.

Very interesting castle to visit, it was the castle of Franz Ferdinand and his huge weapons collection is still there. You have to book a tour in advance with a guide, there are multiple tours of different parts of the castle. Tours are in Czech but there were audioguides in other languages available. No pictures allowed inside but really worth a visit. Nice grounds with garden and lake outside as well.

Fantastic day, walking around Konopište Castle.
We drive 45 minutes to spend the day afternoon here, walking around this amazing landmark, soaking in the history.
It's worth the drive, unique sights and one can feel the centuries of history here, as you can in many of the wonderful places in the Czech Republic.
