Lovely little well known chocolate shop. Has a great reputation in the area. The cakes, chocolates and other goodies are delicious and the Ice creams are great too! Lots of other activities are available if you intend to become a chocolatier.

The prices may seem high at first sight but the quality is there and even in Lyon it is difficult to find chocolatiers and pastry chefs with this talent. Thanks and keep it up!

(Translated by Google) Passing by the Côte Saint André we passed in front of this pastry shop which made us stop so much the pastries looked appetizing.
In the end it is as good as it is beautiful. The pebble and the pistachio tart are among the best pastries I have ever eaten. Not too sweet and terribly subtle. The prices are reasonable in terms of quality and workmanship, we paid €22.50 for 5 pastries (3 large and 2 small).
If we are in the area again, we will definitely be back!

The annoyance is very well stocked and the choice is plentiful, enough to make any epicurean and of course any foodie salivate! The other side of the coin is that the prices are also a little higher, but it's a choice. On the other hand, parking is a hassle where you have to park next to Casino!

Maison bien connue pour des pâtisseries, son chocolat de qualité. Le m'agacent très bien achalandé et le choix pléthorique, de quoi faire saliver tout épicurien et bien sûr tout gourmand ! The Groupama Stadium is the home of Olympique Lyonnais football club and has a capacity of nearly 60,000 seats. It is also used for hosting concerts. The stadium offers splendid views from the top tier with a great atmosphere. Recently, it hosted the final Europa League match between Rangers and another team which resulted in a draw that was fair to both parties. Overall, it's a pleasant stadium but people might have preferences for certain teams playing there.
Managed to get tickets to see OL (Olympic Lyon) verse Troyes whilst in Lyon. Booked the tickets in advance on their website. Price for tickets will depend on where you want to sit.
Like most European teams, it comes with free transport tickets. Note: this is just the tram, not bus or metro. Make sure you allow sufficient time to travel if you don’t want to pay for metro.
Very easy to get to (approx 1hr from 2nd district).
There is food inside and around the stadium on match days. I got a cheese burger inside the stadium for €6.50. Fries for €4 I think. Beer was €6.50 and you can take it to your seat too.
The game was not sold out and there were plenty of seats. Lots of families, kids and women around. I went with my girlfriend and she felt safe.
Had a great time as the seats I got were great, close enough to the pitch but also decent view to see the action. The stadium is fairly new, so the concourse to get food etc was very spacious.
Recommend anyone to go and see a game.
Daniel Wu — Google review
The stadium is nice. But everyone from the staff looked like they are doing their job for the first day 🙄 so confused and non-helpful. Possibility to buy a beer in front of the gates but no more beer in the guests sector. No logic in that.
Petr Votava — Google review
I recently had the opportunity to visit the Olympique Lyonnais stadium, and I must say that I was extremely satisfied with my experience. First of all, access to the stadium was very easy, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a large car park equipped with solar panels. This is a commendable initiative and shows the club's commitment to the environment.
Once inside, I was impressed by the immaculate state of the stands. They were well maintained and offered a spectacular view of the pitch. The facilities were modern and well laid out, which helped to create a vibrant and exciting atmosphere throughout the event.
The stadium staff also played a major role in the positive experience. They were courteous, helpful and always ready to assist with our needs. Whether it was finding our seats or getting additional information, the staff was present and attentive. Their professionalism and dedication really added value to our visit.
I would like to sincerely thank the Olympique Lyonnais stadium team for a great experience. Everything was well organised and I felt welcomed and looked after from the moment I arrived. This helped to make the event even more special. My best regards #B4YOUDISCOVERY

Excellent organisation, stadium was really crowded and yet there was no queue.... not to enter, not to get food or drinks, not to go to the restrooms and not even really to go back home using the shuttles!! Seats we comfortable, space sufficient, sound excellent.
Brilliant experience

Fantastic venue, for the amount of people that came to this Rammstein concert the entry and exit didn't take long at all.
There was a specific tram from Lyon center to get here which was a simple process.

I went to the Groupama Stadium looking for some Urban Art artworks that are inside the Stadium. They told me that it was not possible to visit these artworks for two years, but I could visit some of the artworks if I buy a visit for the Stadium that costs 20 euros. I couldn't see the artworks but I did visit the Groupama Stadium. An interesting visit anyway. I got a Groupama Stadium coin as a souvenir for 2 euros and I saw the uniforms and other stuff that was exhibited in the shop of the Stadium.

It was an absolutely great experience when I visited. The beer was good and the fans sang their hearts out despite suffering the setback of being 4-0 down to PSG in the first half. One has to time their departure on match days so they may gain early access to trains heading downtown Lyon.

Watched a World Cup rugby match here. It is a modern stadium that is surprisingly clean. The stadium’s design is easy to navigate.
Crowd control after the match was organized and secure. We walked in time released blocks to the tram. This prevented over crowding the tram lines. Police and security staff were friendly and helpful.
A stadium staff member gave my daughter a game pin as we were slowly leaving the stadium. Very adorable, made us all smile.
Patrick Ahrnsbrak — Google review
Came here for the Rugby World Cup. The transportation logistics to get to the stadium was really well run and I definitely appreciated it. Overall you can feel the new-ness of a farily new stadium. Facilities are up to date, seats are nice, overall state of the art for a stadium. Didn't feel like you had a bad seat even since I was sitting in the top row. Nice choice for a venue and I would go to another game here.
Josh Baltazar — Google review
This is quite a modern stadium and atmosphere was great. However... this is way out of Lyon and links to get to it are terrible. I'm not sure it was fully thought through either. There were 55,000 supporters in attendance and crowd control was a dozen or so security guards when the game ended. Getting out was a joke. Buses, cars and people ask over the place.
But during the game great atmosphere!

Great stadium to watch the World Cup rugby. Wales vs Australia, and what a game it was. The match was great, and the supporters were amazing. I would imagine it would be the same when the football ⚽️ is on also

Great stadium. We visited rugby world cup match Australia-Wales on 24th of September 2023. It was a really awesome experience and atmosphere. Had our car parked on P3 and after the game it was a question of 10min to leave.
David Koblizek — Google review
Fantastic stadium to be in, has a modern feel and adequate bars/facilities.
However, I’m knocking off two stars, and below are my reasons why.
Getting in and out of Lyon is an absolute nightmare. Take a crowded metro which feels like 100° (with people continually pushing in at each stop even when it’s full) for 20 mins.
Then, take a shuttle bus to the stadium which can take up to 30 mins depending on traffic. Other option is to take a tram, but you’ll be equally as crowded.
They will shut certain entrances to the stadium just because they seemingly feel like it (when we asked why, we got no explanation).
Not sure how they can build a 55k+ capacity stadium and not think about travel to and from! All I can say is I’m glad I’m not an OL fan.
dcfcrams4ever — Google review
Fantastic Stadium that provides a perfect atmosphere! You can everything you need. Public transportation just in Front. The Stadium is a little bit out of the city but that is not a problem.

To begin with, bank cards are not accepted so plan well in advance. Then we start with a short tour of the castle, then the park with some animals. Nothing comparable with a zoo of course, but I liked it, it's authentic, simple and effective.

I really recommend it and I will come back with great pleasure!

Check and cash accepted only. We arrived at 5 p.m. and asked the lady at reception if it was better to go to the park after the castle. She told us yes, but when we returned at 5:40 p.m. it was closed, so that’s really not nice. I don't recommend it at all, just maybe for people who live nearby, but it's quick to do. Positive point: the animals which are truly free, they are happy and it shows. Wolves are not like in zoos, they are agile. I didn't try the toilets but I saw from afar so there are indeed toilets a little before the entrance.

I think this Factory Outlet was very nice.
The Factory outlet was located between Grenoble and Lyon. We departed from Grenoble and it took around 1 hour from our hotel at Grenoble. It was easy to find the Factory Outlet as it was located near the exit of toll gate.
The car parks were plenty. I would like to advice to arrive to this place at the morning. Our experience when we arrived around 10AM, there still not so many people so it was convenient to walk around the place.
There were many brands available at this Factory Outlet. I think it will take 1 full day if you want to explore all shops. Most fashion brands were there such as Prada, Miumiu, Furla, Longchamp as well as sport brand such as Under Armour, Nike, Adidas, Puma and many more. I think this is good if you bring your family or friends to this place as they will have many choices to see and shop. We found the price of the goods were good. If you are foreigner then you can apply for tax refund. You just simply ask the shop office to help you arrange for the tax refund application.
If you are hungry, there were many food store available at the site. Be noticed that around lunch time, the food stores were crowded. We took pizza for our lunch and it was delicious.
There also small playground for your kids to play there. I also noticed the toilets were clean and plenty.
Overall, I would like to recommend this place.

This chocolatier gets only 4 stars cause it’s really pricey. I spent lots of euros there and felt like I was buying a cat in the sack cause I could not taste the flavors. The shop is exquisitely arranged and Flavia spoke English and explained what the different types of chocolate are. I ordered a sphinx dessert and it was absolutely delicious. The pastry rates equally amongst other fine patisseries I’ve eaten at.

Just received a package in Greece, with the following chocolates, as seen on the photo. I have just tried the yellow one and I can not describe how I felt. First of all, you do not bite it, you just let it melt in your mouth. After I had a couple of pieces by jaw went numb and the hair in my body stood up. It has been now 10 mins later and the feeling is still there. This is the reason I HAD to write this review. Everyone should taste this and experience true chocolate bliss. I can not describe the feeling and the sensation. After you try Bonnat chocolates, all other chocolates feel like a very cheap imitation.

I will admit, I am very biased. Bonnat has been my overall favorite chocolate brand going on more than 11 years now. When the opportunity came up to be in Europe, I just had to make the long trek from London to the headquarters in Voiron, France.
The storefront was clean and we'll arranged, though a bit smaller than I expected. The real magic happens in the back, so this was not a problem. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to my lack of French beyond the usual "please" and "thank you" that we tourists come to learn.
I had the great Fortune of meeting members of the Bonnat family and was treated kindly and generously even to a selfish request or two.
I think going to and shopping at Bonnat is a must if you are in Voiron. They make world class chocolate but are still a humble, hard working family that has been making chocolate at the same building since 1884.

I am always impressed with the taste of the chocolate bars!!! Love it 😍 Thank You for keeping the traditions and taste!!!

Quite simply the best chocolate you can buy anywhere. One of a few chocolate makers that make their chocolate from cocoa beans directly and not from couverture. 20 or so single origin chocolates. The factory shopfront near Grenoble is a charming tea room and pastry shop. Their cakes are fantastic: Sphynx and Succès the top specialties.
Zoo park with 60 species in natural-style habitats, focusing on predators, both mammals & birds.
Wonderful animal park with nice play spaces for kids (the huge ball pit is a favorite). They where rebuilding some enclosures when we visited, but things where clean and well marked. The animations are well organized and interesting! Parking is a little walk, unless you come early and park right in front of the entrance

The best of the best. We had so much fun, the staff is adorable, the shows are for free, many different wild animals (Tigers, Lion, black panther etc.. ) Also too many birds. The prices are affordable even in the restaurant and they take all types of paiements even Chèques ANCV. The place is safe and highly protected.

Great zoo with many different types of wild cats, panthers, tigers, lions... And many owls and big birds.
Margaux Bole du Chomont — Google review
The kids loved it. Small zoo, very well kept and looked after but unfortunately only small areas/enclosures for the animals. The food at the snack bar isn't great however the coffee is truly terrible - bring your own ;). Big plus is the large and partly shaded picnic area and the playground as well as the bouncy castles. There was also a presentation of birds of prey which was great.

Very nice and clean, some shows are planned to better see the animals. Great afternoon trip.

Very nice zoo with lots of animals and birds . They also have bird shows organised . Suggest to go with a picnic. Small restaurant is on site.

The main problem here is parking if your car is slightly bigger than others. Over 2 hours was spent trying to find a suitable space and totally frustrating was that one car park was closed in high season.
The park itself is quite small and the entry fee seems a little excessive. However the grand kids enjoyed it.

Storied cliff caves open for tours of prehistoric relics, limestone pillars & a frescoed chapel.
Incredible place!
The guided visit is only 10€ and it is totally worth it! During more than 1h30, you will learn about the formation of the caves, the animals that can be found here, and some events that took place in the caves.

Really nice place to visit close to Lyon. Pérouges and these caves make for a cool 1 day visit.
The labyrinth inside the caves were the most liked feature of the family.
The chapelle at the entrance is really beautiful.

Very beautiful place, I recommend a visit with the family, kids will love it, some surprising paths that will feed kids imagination, Not a recommended place for people with limited movements.

Great cave that is absolutely worth all the way from Lyon and the 10€ fee.
Warning: Inside it get's really cold, so pack a jacket (even if it's 35°C outside)!
Loved the subtle light, the good path system and the nice explanations also in English.
Sadly didn't see any bats because of the season and very loud groups and kids that definitley scared them away even deeper.
I recommend going very early or during lunch time (everyone will be eating and you have the cave for yourself).

The Caves of La Balme and found it to be a unique experience. The adult ticket was priced at 9.5 euros, which I found reasonable for the adventure it offers. Expect to spend around an hour walking through the cave, marveling at fascinating stalagmites, observing bats, and more. I had the chance to visit after a rainy day, and it was truly mesmerizing to see the ponds inside the cave brimming with water. A word of caution: depending on the time of year, the cave can get quite chilly, so it's a good idea to bring a jacket. Highly recommend for a different kind of outing!

Amusement park with roller coasters & rides for young children, plus an island-themed water park.
A very nice amusement park that can be done in a day time. The attractions here range from soft and slow to extremely thrilling.
They have several rollercoasters, water rides, chill rides for adults and kids. A dedicated eating spot is also available for when hunger hits.
I should not forget to mention the staff. The staff members are extra nice too.
Overall a very fun place for a family visit.

It a nice small park good for young children. If you are visiting it for the first or second time then you may feel different however, I have visited it at least once every year and it's been a long time since they have introduced any new rides to the park or any changes if any at all. Food options are very minimal and staff do not speak English 98% of the time. Shops are very basic and shows are very limited.
A. D. — Google review
Don't go there if you're not thin. Above a L or 46, you will not fit in most rides. The staff was really nice and kind about it but I felt thorougly humiliated. They gave me fast passes for other rides instead but I couldn't fit either, and I'm an 48/0XL. It was even more demorilizing as I've lost a lot of weight recently lol
I gave 2 stars for the really really nice staff who were very kind to me and checked that I was doing fine as kids were making fun of me. For context, this never happened in any other parks I did in Europe, including Walibi Belgium and Disney for example. I wish their rides were more inclusive.

We didn’t expect much but our experience was great! It was nog too crowded (monday, first week of july) and well maintained. There were 2 shows which were very entertaining. We got a week dated ticket with a burger for lunch for just under 30 euros per person. It was well worth it.
Pleunie Maas — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit here over the summer and was pleasantly surprised by how charming and fun this little park was. Of all the rides there, my personal favorite was TImber as it felt very fast paced and did a great job combining thrills into a family coaster. Most of the park looks very nice after all the changes in the past couple years and I am very exited to see the new updates next year when they build their newest area!
Theodoros Maheras — Google review
Very clean and well maintained park. Staff is super friendly and helpful and the rides are fun and entertaining for adults, youth and younger kids. Toilets are also very clean. Ride waiting times are clearly displayed throughout the park. The live show we saw was definitely entertaining.
We went on a Friday in July and the queues were generally less than 10 minutes on most rides. Everyone had a blast and I can highly recommend going here for a day.
Small note for Apple users; if you order your tickets online (much cheaper that way) and use the “hide my email” feature (aka private relay) you won’t receive any tickets by mail. This is a known issue on their side. Make sure you save your proof of payment and reservation ID and visit to the service desk at the entrance of the park and they will fix it for you.
Have fun!

Had a lovely day out here. Queues weren't too long and most of them had a good amount of shade. The park was clean and tidy and the facilities were clean too. The food was good and not too expensive. If you have younger children or it is a really hot day(which it was when we went) take towels and swimwear as the splash park is a great place to cool down. All in all, a really good day out for all the family.

Purchase tickets at least 3 days before - and you will be in for a treat. Took my son for his birthday, which is just before Halloween. Dr Mystic and his spooky crew made it a day to remember. Yes - the wait was long for some of the rides - but it was worth it.
Great atmosphere, great rides, great day. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Walibi!!

The French Ski School (ESF) is open to children aged 3 to 12 and offers two snow gardens in the village and at the satellite center la Daille. They follow the French national ski program, ensuring consistent levels and progression for kids who have skied with ESF in other resorts. Children above 13 can join adult groups. The school provides morning lessons in English, with small group sizes and friendly instructors like Thalassa who go the extra mile to help students improve.
The lessons are really useful. I took a 6 days morning course at Alpe d'Huez, it was amazing. The instructor knew all routes and guided us to the best places in accordance to the weather conditions each day. She also made sure everyone got the techniques right, showed us really good drills to practice them.
All in all, very much recommended!

Such a good ski school. I have booked lessons for my two daughters and for myself. Little girls absolutely loved it and completed their weeks course with theirs fabulous ski instructor ladies.
My instructor was Ettiene and he was so patient and engaging. I haven't completed mine, missed three days as I was unfortunately ill on holiday and didn't have any energy to get up that early every day,but will be definitely recommending this to everyone.

Absolutely no regrets putting my 3.5 yo in to the Children’s chalet, ESF are very good at what they do for the little ones. The set up was great, the indoor chalet was lovely and on par with a good nursery, they get to go in there for lunch, where they can eat, play and sleep which breaks up the skiing. The instructors were friendly and great with the kids, and the ski set up was brilliant. I will be putting a 2.5 yo in next year as he was desperate to join in this year(but too little at 1.5 yo!).

I signed up for 6 morning lessons for my son (10) in level 2, in English. It was fantastic. A really small group & the instructor (Thalassa) was really lovely. She helped him improve over the week, went out of her way to meet up with us when we were late one day &, best of all, my son absolutely loved the lessons :) A fantastic way to learn!

Completed the three day Ladies Progression Camp at Alpe d’Huez with Marion - it was brilliant and I highly recommend. We were all beginners (ages 47, 46, 14 and 16) and had private lessons with Romain. She was absolutely brilliant and really gave us the confidence we needed on our first ski holiday. It’s a month since the week we spent at Club Med Alpe d’Huez (12th-19th Feb) but I felt the need to express our gratitude to the ESF instructors who really highlighted our holiday. Our daughter Amber was happy with Serge, her instructor in Flocon, and our son Robin enjoyed Nicolas Mocci’s lessons in 1ère étoile. Both children grew in confidence over the 5 days and impressed me on Saturday with how comfortable they were with their level of skiing, knowing their own limitations to keep them safe and able to control their speed! As for myself, I was lucky to be in a snowboard group led by the expertise of Bruno Orcel, a true old school snowboarder, who shared with us knowledge of his homeland terrain, with historical context and wellbeing tips, making it a personal and authentic experience on the mountain. Bruno gave us a good balance of technique, critique, approval, humour and fun freeriding but also with his multiple language skills we could enjoy a nice cultural exchange.
Praise, respect and many thanks goes to these quality ESF instructors for the wonderful job they do. We hope to see them again.

Only issue to consider is the river's water level and how hard it might make it getting past bridge #2 without hiccups. But that's the river's fault not theirs and most likely won't care.

La Fontaine des Éléphants is a beautiful monument erected in December 1838 to honor the General-Comte de Boigne. Located in the old town of Chambery, it is marked by street signs leading to its center. 3.5🌟 we reckon.
On the way back from Annecy to Grenoble, we decided to stop in Chambery. It was still early.
We were pleasantly surprised that the town has lots to offer too. We parked near the main square. As usual, there are lots of restaurants, cafes, ice-cream parlours at the square.
Decided to stroll further after our evening drinks. We arrived at the fountain. Most fountains in larger towns we have seen are always grand and somewhat of a center piece. This one is no different.
The elephants have their backs again the fountain, which is of course a defensive posture. As if to tell everyone, they are protecting the fountain.
Walking further, we were greeted by several other monuments within the town.
A worthwhile stopover with many sights to see.

Cistercian then Benedictine monastery that served as burial place for members of the House of Savoy.
Mausoleum abbey of the Savoy family, a place steeped in history on the shores of the lake. The heterogeneous reconstruction in terms of styles gives it a special feature, but maintains a beautiful spirituality. The visit goes with multilingual audioguide and takes 45min. Magnificent place with a powerful energy. The church itself is intricate and beautiful, and it’s pleasing to see that the abbey hasn’t been turned to a monument for sight seeing, but is still practiced in. I’d recommend biking there to make it even more special.
It’s a pity some people don’t read the information on their website and leave low reviews for paying an entry fee which costs less than the fuel they consumed to get there!

Audio guide device and introduction sheet (option of several languages, which I find it rare in France, very international tourist friendly) are available. Very worthwhile to pay a visit.

Beautiful historic place! Must see especially because the way to this abbey by boat is beautiful as well.
Lac du Bourget is a stunning body of water that is surrounded by majestic mountains and scenic paths. It is also home to the popular spa resort town of Aix-les-Bains. Although some visitors have expressed concern about dogs swimming in the lake, it remains one of the most peaceful lakes in the world, with crystal clear water and breathtaking views of nearby castles. Visitors can enjoy boat trips on the lake or dine on board while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
Love the clear water and the view on the mountains from the lake

Great place to stop on N7 near Machezal. Off road, tree shade & picnic table good place for a lunch break or rest. Good view of the lake

Actually very beautiful lake but I wouldn’t swim there because of many dogs swimming there. I don’t know why the city allow that, especially now during coronavirus time, could’ve believed my eyes. Many cities banned that already. The meat based excrement dogs leave behind can cause risk of toxicara and diseases in humans. Dog poo and urine can also affect water quality.

The soothing voice of the lake, one hour swimming in it and a sunny day is all I wanted in Aix les Bains.
Amazing views and great place to be.
It’s just an hour from Lyon by TER trains.
Strong recommend it.

(Translated by Google) This lake is beautiful, it is possible to go around it though:
The first half is superb when you go along the railway line but then you have to go through the town without any view of the lake and the return is along the main road which is a real shame. Hence these 3 stars.

I'll never travel to Annecy without this trip planner again
Gorges du Fier is a natural wonder in France, featuring a 300-meter-long and 70-meter-deep gorge with a river flowing through it. It's open for several months each year and offers an easy, picturesque walk suitable for families. The footbridge provides stunning views of the impressive rock formations, and there's even a cafe on-site serving hot food.
Breathtaking masterpiece by the nature! The trail is easy and secured to walk through. Entrance tickets are fairly worthy for its magnificent view and its maintenance.
Jennifer HyD — Google review
Quite crowded when we went on a Saturday afternoon, which ruins a bit the experience. The walk is otherwise spectacular, albeit a bit short. They advertise up to an hour round trip but you could easily do it in half hour. It is mostly flat, so no big effort needed
Mi Hai — Google review
Great walk with amazing views.
Recommend when its hot, since you will be hidden "under the ground" surrounded by nature and water...

Nice place for a half day trip from Annecy. The walk is easy and suitable for children and you can do it in about 1 - 1.5 hours. We visited in october and it wasn`t crowded.
There are information panels about how the place was formed and you can search for different shapes in the rocks.

Beautiful place, amazing nature. When I went it was September so not many people ( it can be busy in the summer) it's not long walk, and it's very easy. Around 30 minutes one way, you come back the same way. There is also very nice Caffè with hot food. Short walk to see the castle if you wish.there is no public transport there though, so just by car.

About a decade ago there was no charge now entry costs €5.60 per adult. Quite large crowds, passage does not take more than 20-30 minutes depending on the number of people. No mountain shoes required - I even saw a woman with crutches😀. For a family walk ok.

Insanely touristy, lots of parking lots, you have to pay entry to go to the actual gorge and lots of people and children. That said hiking in and around that area is very entertaining but the actual gorge isnt great.

Great walk in a narrow canyon on a footbridge suspended 150 feet above the river below.
Imposing 1600s–1800s fortress with underground passageways & a via ferrata climbing route.
Fort l'Écluse: An early spring morning mist of the Fortifications above the Rhone river looked quite spooky. It’s a well-preserved historical fort and has two main places linked with a tunnel of 830 steps! Unfortunately, it wasn’t open when we visited but well worth a photography trip from the opposite bank
Cheryl Martin — Google review
Beautiful place but closed during winter. Amazing scenery.
Igor Dunaev — Google review
Very interesting fort overlooking the Rhone with roots back to 1200’s but rebuilt and extended in 1800’s. A via ferrata to the upper fort for the fearless and 800+ steps in a steep tunnel built into the cliff leading to cannon emplacements for the rest. Interesting artwork and exhibitions in the lower fort structures are worth the low entrance fee if you don't fancy all the steps.
The only negative was the sporadic service at the small cafe (which offered good coffee, wine, beer, and local cheese).
Bob Wilson — Google review
Very cool place! Admission is very reasonable, and there are excellent views if you just wish to view the outside and not pay the entrance fare. Hiking is available in the region as well. Relatively difficult to access without a car though. If biking, beware road is heavily trafficked and fast moving. To access the upper for from the lower one, there is about 1000 steps, so be prepared! The bar in the lower courtyard also has a good selection of drinks and snacks
James Natoli — Google review
A great place for a family visit. The history is interesting. The views are incredible. There’s a nice simple café. For those who want to challenge themselves and have good fitness and no fear of heights the via ferrata is superb. This is where I did my first via ferrata - always go with someone more experienced the first time and only in perfect weather
Vasee Moorthy — Google review
When we finished the 830 steps, we ended upon a closed door. All that climbing to finally see a big metal door was very disappointing; no wide view at all. Only on a few balconies along the way gave us a nice view.
We entered the fort late and did the stairs first and there for we could not properly visit the whole fort.
Don't forget to take a picture with the sign that says you made it. You can get a diploma/certificate when you are back down.
Auke Visman — Google review
It's actually more than 830 steps and we took 30 min to climb up and less than 15 min to go down.

Had an amazing day exploring this ancient fortress. Unfortunately I forgot to bring Euros so I was unable to rent climbing equipment to scale the side of the mountain! I will be back though to enjoy the whole experience.
You get a cute certificate for climbing the 800+ stairs 😂

Great views in a very nice looking castle. The via ferrata just next to it is the main reason people from nearby villages and CERN visit it. It is a relatively easy path with a nice addition of a trail path on the way back to the street. The views from the top are fantastic and would highly recommend giving it a try!

The Musée-Château d'Annecy is a museum in Annecy, France housing regional sculptures and paintings alongside contemporary art. The castle was formerly the home of the counts of Geneva, and during WWII it provided shelter to homeless families. Today, it is an art museum with stunning views over the terracotta rooftops of the town below. The Chateau d'Annecy crowns one of France's most beautiful castles with its medieval architecture.
One of these days I really need to pay for the full tour, but I am always so taken by the town and the lake that I want more time to explore. This is a great example of the old world though and I do enjoy walking up to and around the area.

Very interesting to see. Also wonderful views of Annecy. It's a very steep walk up to get here so not suitable for people with limited mobility. Also inside the museum there are many levels with many stairs, so not suitable for everyone. Very friendly and helpful staff that speak many languages.

One of the best places to see the whole city of Annecy. The museum has a lot to see about the history, interesting things about the lake and etc. If you are visiting Annecy I think this is one of the places you should visit.

We didnt go in but dropped by to take iconic pictures of the part of La Thiou canal sliced into half by the Musee building, which makes it look like the bow of a brick ship. Stare at it hard enough you might even think the building is sailing towards you!

The history of the castle and the compound was interesting, but the art exhibits were okay. Good if they can allow us to explore the building to learn more about the history or just to admire the architecture. Requires a short climb up the hill.

An Enchanting Journey through History: Château d'Annecy
Introduction:
Prepare to be captivated by the rich historical tapestry and breathtaking views that await you. I am delighted to take you on an unforgettable journey through time.
History:
The origins of Château d'Annecy trace back to the 12th century when it was constructed as a fortress by the powerful Counts of Geneva. Over the centuries, this remarkable stronghold has witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties, political struggles, and even periods of peace. Its commanding position atop a hill provided strategic advantage and afforded its occupants an unrivaled panorama of Annecy and its surroundings.
During the 15th century, the castle underwent significant expansions, transforming it into a sumptuous residence fit for nobility. The House of Savoy, rulers of the region, played a vital role in the castle's history. They embellished its interiors, adding grand halls, opulent chambers, and ornate frescoes that have survived the test of time.
Highlights:
Step inside the castle walls, and let the allure of history wash over you. Explore the remarkable medieval architecture, the formidable fortified walls, and the picturesque towers that have become iconic symbols of Annecy.
The castle museum invites you to discover the many layers of its past. Marvel at the impressive collection of medieval artifacts, including weaponry, armor, and heraldic emblems that provide insight into the lives of the castle's former inhabitants. Trace the evolution of Annecy through meticulously curated displays that delve into the region's art, culture, and heritage.
As you ascend the castle's towers, be rewarded with awe-inspiring panoramic views. Gaze upon the shimmering turquoise waters of Lake Annecy, surrounded by the magnificent French Alps. The view alone is worth the visit and offers a glimpse into the natural splendor that has enchanted visitors for centuries.
Immerse yourself in the castle's enchanting gardens, where carefully manicured landscapes and vibrant flowers evoke a sense of tranquility. Stroll along the paths that wind through the lush greenery, and find a moment of peace and serenity amidst the historical grandeur.
Conclusion:
As your journey through Château d'Annecy comes to an end, take a moment to reflect on the stories that these ancient walls hold. Feel the weight of centuries of history, the triumphs, the struggles, and the indomitable spirit of those who once walked these halls.
This castle is not merely a historical monument; it is a gateway to the past, a testament to human ingenuity and resilience. It stands as a symbol of Annecy's rich heritage and invites visitors to become part of its enduring narrative.
So, dear traveler, I encourage you to explore the Château d'Annecy, lose yourself in its grandeur, and emerge with a deeper appreciation for the captivating blend of history and beauty that defines this remarkable place. Your visit will surely leave you with cherished memories and a sense of gratitude for the privilege of experiencing such wonders.

Very interesting visit. Don’t expect crazy historic place, but you will definitely enjoy your time exploring the rooms that have interesting amenities. Depending on the season and time they have different presentations. You’ll enjoy beautiful views from castles windows as well.
Price is very affordable, and they have an option to choose the package to visit a small castle at the bottom but it was closed during my visit.

The castle is nice, the views are great. The price is reasonable - 5.5 for the castle only a d a combined ticket is 8 euros. We went on a Sunday and it was calm and pleasant. I have to admit, we went with an American friend and we were surprised that everything is in French. Yes, we understand : en France on parle français, but this is a tourist attraction and we cannot expect that everyone on earth speaks French right :)
S. Leenders — Google review
I visited it today, it is a tourist attraction and they do not explain anything in English ! Peaople are coming from all over the world to see and wxplore the castle but all labels are just in French ! How would non- French speakers know more about the place ! That is unfair, i came by and did not understand any of the labels written, the only English labels were to inform us not to touch things ( THAT’s it ! ) can you imagine !!!!! Waste of time as u did not understand anything inside despite being interested in history and wanted to know more about every thing inside it . But to be fair enough the place is picturesque inside out .
Eman. S. — Google review
Different from other critics here I really liked the exhibition. But what really needs to be improved is the written explanations: most is only in French, but even if there are English translations, they are very small printed and positioned very low, so that it is almost impossible to read. Same in the 2 other museums included in the ticket. Obviously the international public is not really taken care for, which is quite a contrast to the modern and international context presented in the exhibitions.
Jan-Martin Lichte — Google review
The museum of Château d'Annecy was an amazing experience! First of all, a great exhibition of well-known artist-animator Theodore Ushev was held in the museum (I think it will last until the end of September), that I loved so much!!! I'll put some photos. Second, the permanent exhibition of the museum travelled me through the old ages of Annecy, its people, their lives, the history, the Comtes de Genève and many other stories. Great place and very well organized.
The Vieille Ville Annecy, a popular tourist attraction, is characterized by its well-preserved medieval Old Town. Visitors can enjoy wandering around the area without any specific purpose and admire the emerald-green canals that run beneath ancient stone bridges. The pastel-painted buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries are another noteworthy feature of this charming town, which basks in the warm sunlight.
The Pont des Amours is a picturesque wooden bridge dating back to the 16th century and later a cast iron bridge followed. Today, it features an arched steel arch bridge. Reportedly, if you kiss someone on this bridge you'll be united for life. It's located next to the Canal du Vasse and is perfect for engagement and wedding photos.
There are wonderful views from this bridge of the lake, the mountains, and the canal. There is a big park next to it, so taking a walk is an amazing choice. It is a great and favorite photo spot.

This love bridge, ordinarily crowded with instagrammers, is quiet during this part of the year. Although it would have been nice to get some sunlight in the water to bring out the crystal clarity of the lake water, it is nice too during Dec to capture monochrome, Robert Doisneau styled pictures by the lake.

Had a beautiful view with a stunning atmosphere. I love walking under this bridge with a fresh air. Highly recommend this. You can find the swan 🦢 and the duck 🦆 when you walk belongs the lake. There are some people who buy the key of love, so I think that why they call “Love Bridge”. Near the lake of Annecy, this is one of the place you should visit and take the picture.

This is not a review of the bridge exactly, but more of a review of the view of the lake and Annecy in general. We came on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon and it seemed like nobody at all was working. Everybody was out in full force picnicking, playing on the lake, eating, swimming and just making a real day off the fabulous weather. 😁☀️ It's a beautiful lakeside town. To visit, the canals make it look like a cross between Venice and Amsterdam. Amsterdam. The old buildings are really quaint and there's even a market on Friday afternoons but it closes at 2:00 so get there early. I'll just say that there aren't enough public restrooms to accommodate all the tourists so it can be quite a bit of a challenge queueing for one.

Pont des Amours is a charming bridge located in the heart of Annecy, France. The bridge offers stunning views of the picturesque Lake Annecy and the surrounding Alps, making it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. Walking across the bridge was a romantic experience, as the name 'Pont des Amours' suggests, and I enjoyed watching the swans swimming in the clear blue water below. The bridge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and parks, making it a perfect place to relax and take in the scenery. It's only a tiny and overcrowded bridge with a good view and an interesting story behind it, but otherwise nothing really special unless you believe in the legend of the love surrounding the bridge. Still a good place to drop by as part of visiting the park.
Lake Annecy, located in France, is a breathtaking body of water that offers ample opportunities for swimming and various water sports. The lake is surrounded by mountains and adjacent parks with plenty of bike paths to explore. It's an ideal place to take a stroll with your family or furry friend as all stores are pet-friendly. For the ultimate experience, it is recommended to visit during the end of spring or summer when the weather is perfect for enjoying all that this magical place has to offer.

My visit to the Lake was so amazing. Annecy is a beautiful and peaceful city. The Lake had amazing views and it was simply picturesque.
The water was very clear and the rumours about the lake annecy having the cleanest water in Europe seemed true.
As a tourist to Annecy you definitely have to visit the Lake. There are alot of beautiful places to take nice pictures and after having a fun time at the lake there are a lot of restaurants and bars around you have a meal or drink at very affordable prices.
I will definitely be visiting again in the future as I love it so much my only challenge with the city is that it's very small so you there are no trains or trams to go around and I dont understand how the buses worked.

Attraction featuring a 45m waterfall with a zipline, plus a cave network with guided tours.
Lots to see and do here with my husband and the kids (10 and 17 years old) . Surrounded by beautiful views and scenery the caves and waterfall activity area has toilets, picnic benches and a little cafe. There is a large free car park just opposite.
It was 15 euros to do the guided cave tour, the waterfall and the huge zip line which goes from the top of the waterfall across the forest ravine!!
It's a lot of steps up to the top of the waterfall and the same steps take you to the zip line. Totally worth it though! And a reasonably fit person can do it in 10 minutes.
The caves are interesting but if you are claustrophobic they won't be for you as they're narrow and low in most places.

Lovely place, well suited for children, and very enjoyable in times of great heat waves. However, there is no student discount and the quality of translation in other languages for the visit is either poor or non-existant.

It's something nice, natural and modest, made profitable by what seems to be a family business. It sounds like a lesser experience but I recommend it nevertheless. The waterfall Is beautifull, going there is painless and if you add the modest cave delightfully presented by a very funny guide, and the adrenaline boost form a 60m slide in the canion... It's a must visit experience when near Annecy.

Well worth it when you’re in the area. Friendly staff.
Cave is worth a visit. It (naturally) gets busy in high season so recommended to go early. We had the “English” guided tour, which still required the guide to address the French visitors separately in French - meaning more waiting. Maybe make the English tour truly English :-)
Zipline was great. Not spectacular (then better go to an adventure park) but worth it. And we were allowed a second run, which was very nice.
Waterfall was flowing - even mid August 2023.

Very nice caves and the tour guides were excellent. My kids, ages 9, 11 and 13 especially enjoyed the zip line which was by far their favorite experience. The snack hut also had good sandwiches and salads for a light lunch.

Impressive waterfall, a cave with no stalagtites and stalagnites. The zipline is just enough to get your adrenaline higher. We tried -and liked- the waffle in the small restaurant there as well. Perfect program with children around 10.
The view on Albertiville is really nice. The médiévale city is nice too

Wonderful and serene, a compensation to Albertville disappointment.

Absolutely amazing medieval city in Albertville France. Reminds me of those charming little villages in French Riviera. Don’t miss Conflans if you visit Albertville!

Conflans in November is absolutely beautiful. The leaves have changed color and the mountaintops have snow on them. There aren't very many other visitors during this time of year, which allowed us to explore the city quite freely. Arguably, the best view of Albertville is from the garden at the top of Conflans. Follow the stone path up the hill and it will turn into a dirt path as it goes under the arch in the wall. This will lead you past a vineyard, a cow pasture, a great view of the East Valley, and to a 100-foot waterfall.

Stopped off here in Jan - the old town was deserted but it was amazing to walk through the old streets (very small). One or two shops were open.

An old place, small and cozy, like a jewel...a good place to relax and to buy unique hand made souvenirs (paintings and so many beautiful things)!

Very nice to see how a town looks like in the medieval period.
La charming village of La Clusaz, located in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France, is renowned for its winter sports. It's a popular destination for snow enthusiasts and is one of the most sought-after ski resorts in the Alps. The area gained additional fame through videos featuring freeride skier Candide Thovex, showcasing it as a playground for off-piste aficionados.
Col des Aravis is a stunning mountain pass that is famous for being part of the Tour de France route. It offers dramatic views of Mont Blanc and features a small chapel. The area around the pass includes beautiful alpine valleys such as Combe de la Creuse and Combe de Fernuy. Visitors can start their walk from L'Arpettaz Les Confins, a picturesque plateau with a small lake below la Chaine des Aravis.

Have a seat on the terrace north side of the road, take a deep breath and look at East: the Mont Blanc.
Col des Aravis deserves a detour: out of the crowded town of La Clusaz, you can walk on easy paths to La Croix de Fer, have your lunch (recommended and fair in price) or a simple tea with a freshly baked crêpe.
By the way, if you are a ski enthusiast, you’ll find at ease in La Clusaz: today, March 23, all slopes are open...
