The Abbey Library of Saint Gall is a magnificent example of rococo architecture located in Switzerland. This library, which once stood next to an abbey that was destroyed by fire, contains over 170,000 religious texts and is considered one of the oldest in the world. Along with the rest of the Benedictine monastery founded by St. Gall in 612, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Very beautiful library, UNESCO world heritage site, somehow it is smaller than I expected and it is pretty dark inside. You are not allowed to take pix. The cathedral is probably the most beautiful in the whole Switzerland. They have a very informative audio guide you can rent for 5 chf. Most of the Kloster is occupied by school, government offices and banks.

Although the library itself is just a one hall portrayed everywhere, I would rate it 5 stars.
The library was a bit disappointing as I was expecting to walk through more rooms/ stairs and corridors like that, to be charmed by the world of books and rare volumes. There is just what you saw on flyers, nothing more. BUT 🪄
The library has two more breathtaking exhibitions, and we were impressed by the effort of those people working to save and protect the rare documents and historical monuments for future generations.
It is definitely worth a visit and people of different ages will enjoy the place.

Come visit the stunning Baroque Hall and explore a unique collection of ancient manuscripts at the Abbey Library of St. Gall. This historical gem has been preserving manuscripts for over a thousand years, showcasing the evolution of European culture since the Middle Ages. Don't miss the temporary exhibitions in the Baroque Hall, featuring UNESCO-honored manuscripts highlighting the Abbey of St. Gall's rich history.
To make the experience even richer, get the audio guide. The information you will get with it is priceless 👌.

This an amazing place to visit ! So much rich in culture ! It is indeed a Unesco World Heritage ! It is not allowed to take pictures indoor, which makes you travel in time even more ! It is a must to visit ! I’ve enjoyed and loved the visit, it is truly worth. I highly recommend this 👍

It's a must to visit this place. The books are well kept and the ambience is serene. Beautiful place with great artistic artwork. You will be brought back to olden times. Must wear slipper on top of your shoes so that you will protect the floors since its old and creaking everytime someone walk. There's a mummy placed in the library. Swiss Travel Pass is free when you enter the museum but you must get ticket at the counter 1st. There's also museum of books and many more in the cellar. It's a shame we cannot take photograph in there.
Noorzidah M N — Google review
What a beautiful historical place.
You can not rent the books here, they are for show.
Everything is old and handcrafted.
You have to wear houseshoes over your shoes to safe the old wooden floor.
There also is a mummy here, but that is the only item you are not allowed to photograph. Otherwise you can take pictures without flash.

What an experience!!! I got goosebumps perusing the ancient written works in here. One of the staff members, Remo V, truly made my experience there a delight! So full of charm and information - I learned a lot thanks to his stories and knowledge. Definitely a must-visit.

A must see if you find your self in St gallen ❤️ amazing history with so much detail and depth. There are voice recordings you can listen to, to understand the place even more. Tickets to the whole abbey will bring u to the whole city center which was so amazing to see and experience. The library tho is a unesco heritage and one of a kind ♥️
No photos allowed here, just enjoy and have a photographic memory of it 😊❤️🎧

Great library but quite expensive (18 CHF adult ticket) for what you can do there. I wish there would be more history to read up during the visit, or at least audio guide included in the price.

Incredible library. Worth a visit!!
If you just want to visit the library go at 4.30pm then tickets are only 12 CFH. Library closes at 5pm

I loved the library most. The rest was average. The entrance ticket is free if you have Swiss Travel Pass.

Certainty one of the best places to visit in Switzerland. The library is stunning, I wish I could study there. People complaining about the price for “one room” didn’t go to the museum under the library which has the whole story of St-Gallen and is a quite interactive museum. A must go if you’re interested in Roman Empire, Christianity and Swiss history.
Helio Chaplin — Google review
WoW should be everyone reaction. It’s hard to give the description what your eyes can see in that place. I was shocked with ticket price - but it’s definitely worth seeing it. Maybe running and screaming students are not well managed but this place must be in your TO SEE list, just look at photos - it’s really like on it

A UNESCO-listed cultural gem that houses a remarkable collection of manuscripts and rare books dating back to the 8th century. Expect to wear slippers before entering the library's Rococo-styled hall with its towering shelves, antique globes and even a mummy at its far end!
Once done, head to the basement and to the other part of the premises for multimedia shows and further sights.
A must-visit if you're in this part of the country!
Christian Tohmé — Google review
Definitely check this out, if you ever find yourself in St. Gallen!
Tickets appear expensive at first at 18 CHF (free if you’re a Raiffeisen member), however they grant you entry to 3 different exhibits, so I personally think that’s not too bad.
The library is just one large room, but it is so beautiful and well-kept, so I was not disappointed.
There is lots to see and learn here, so I would plan at least 2 hours -If you plan to take a break at the cute café too, plan at least 3 hours :))
Finally, while I didn’t take any pictures there, I highly recommend you also visit the church (no ticket needed).
Have a nice time!
Pia Frank — Google review
Wow! All that's missing is a comfortable plush chair, a cup of tea, and me with nothing but time to explore every book.
Shannon Wentworth — Google review
Got the audio guide as an afterthought and it turned out to be the best 5 francs I've spent since arriving in Switzerland. It adds so much to the experience of visiting the library, the church and even the areas outside of the abbey (there is a walking tour for the city built in).
Would definitely recommend!

The Abbey Library in St. Gallen offers a captivating experience, especially if you have a Swiss Pass—making it a budget-friendly choice.
While the library might not be as expansive as expected, the magic lies in its ancient books and the breathtakingly spectacular ceiling. It's a unique, one-time visit that leaves a lasting impression.
Other attractions in the area may not match the library's charm, but they contribute valuable insights into St. Gallen's history and architectural wonders.

It is certainly hard to describe such a place. It is definitely worth visiting, it is impressive and impossible not to impress you. Unfortunately, when I was there the guide spoke only in German, but you can also find information in English if you ask. It is worth visiting the entire complex

Intricate paintings and depictions of this age old UNESCO site. Very friendly guide and helpful staff around as well!
Located in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the Zeppelin Museum is a top attraction that offers a rich display of exhibitions and art inspired by air travel. Housed in the historic Bauhaus building of the former harbor railway station, this museum is dedicated to showcasing the history of airship travel through an extensive collection of over 1500 unique items and historical multimedia resources. One of its main highlights includes the partial restoration of LZ 129 Hindenburg.
Super interesting museum about Zeppelins and the history of dirigibles in general. They used to build Zeppelins in Friedrichshafen, so now there is this museum. Inside there is a full sized section of the Hindenburg passenger compartment which you can explore, and a cool retro 3d film room. There are tons of historical exhibits, and a hands-on room with aeronautical experiments to play with. If you're in Friedrichshafen, it's worth visiting this museum.
Mike Harms — Google review
It was interesting. The entrance it's about 12 € per person. Big enough the place but still something was missing to give 5 stars. I feel like if they could have more interactive things would be more interesting.
There was a painting area what I did not understand how is connected to Zeppelin...
I saw a little cabin lots of stuff from that century...parts, clothes typewriter, coins and stamps...etc.
I'm sure is also good for kids and they had a little area outside (near the front door) a "Zeppelin" playground. Looks like Zeppelin aircraft.
Gyongy Jelinek — Google review
Interesting to know Zeppelin history. Nicely organized museum. You get to see two generic sections explaining history, mechanical design details( with kids there are small activities also explaining few principles along with few post cards to take away) and lastly with a 2-3 minute theatre clip. Also attached is a v2o restaurant, popular one in Friedrichschafen. Time to spent depends on your interest but typically could take 1.5 to 2 hours.
Mahi Ratnaakaram — Google review
Overall, the museum is pretty impressive as far as what exhibits it has on display, to include the largest remnant from the Hindenburg. There are also pieces from the Graf Zeppelin, and a room full of Zeppelin memorabilia and collectibles.
It was nice to see the audio commentary available in several languages, just wish that that the same could be said about some of the text as well. I just wish there was a focus on the DELAG airline, as I feel like that's a lesser known part of aviation history.
Either way, if you're an aviation fan, this place is well worth your time.
Joel C — Google review
Unique, fun experience. Luckily it was a Sunny clear day for this once a lifetime experience in a zeppelin. The entire process is smooth, easy, and very comfortable. The staff and crew are great and make you feel relaxed and help you enjoy the many sights.
Shivi Gupta — Google review
Very interesting museum having a very large collection of history about the time that zeppelins were invented and built.
There is a partial replica of the hindenburg on display, which gives a great impression of how it was to travel at the time in this craft. You can walk through the rooms and look out of the windows of the cabin of this replica.
There are many different models on display of zeppelins and their inventors and constructors. Also, other products that were produced at the zeppelin factory are on display like exclusive cars and special highly technical equipment parts that were sold to their customers.
I did not know, but the zeppelin fortune was donated to a foundation that still exists today and comprises many companies and the proceeds of which are used for good causes in friedrichshaven
Ewald Van Der Helm — Google review
Excellent staff lots of well designed exhibitions and the amazing interior of the Hindenburg, what is not to like! This museum is well designed so easy to navigate, but can get very busy,so sometimes you just have to be patient to see certain areas.
David S — Google review
This museum is surprisingly entertaining. There's something about the way they built an actual part of a Zeppelin into the building that just makes it so unique. And the way they present details about how Zeppelins were made & how they work is so well done. You come out of there feeling like a Zeppelin engineer ready to make a Ted talk. Kids will love it too, lots of quirky nerdy stuff for them to do and learn from; just absolute gold, worth a visit.
wonderjaxe — Google review
I had being here as a part of my college excursion. We took the guided tour inside the museum. It was very nice. You will take mostly 1.5 hrs to completely see the museum.
Vijay Zarkar — Google review
Most happy that I decided on a couple of nights in Friedrichshafen so that we could make the most of a visit to the museum, without any time pressure to rush through.
I can't recommend the Zeppelin app highly enough; its feature of making available commentaries on nearby exhibits was first rate. It has the added benefit of being able to revisit information afterwards.
I don't know if the information cards that are available to pick up around the museum are supposed to be for children only, but I (hopefully) got the full set.
Included is a full scale replica of part of the Hindenburg.
For a complete excursion into the world of dirigibles, especially the most famous, synonymous name of Zeppelin, there can be no better destination
Andrew Walker — Google review
The museum is not impressive building on the outside but must see it. Lovely experience and staff is super friendly
Krassy D — Google review
Interesting museum and worth it if you want to see what it was like inside the aircraft. Lots prices also included English
Michael v — Google review
Lots of bits and pieces of different zeppelin's, quite interesting but very technical. A shame the Hindenburg - walkthrough is not good accessable with use of a walker.
Wilco Roos — Google review
The museum is great. You go places with curtain expectations, but this museum has exceeded. Parts of Hinderburg Zeppelin in real aspect ratio, lot of nostalgia for this surreal airships, informations are great and well presented. Only one minus - shame that more labels are not in english also. I know that through Google Translate you can get it, but still...
Matija Volner — Google review
The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen is an absolute gem! I had an incredible experience exploring its rich history and the fascinating world of airships. The museum’s well-curated exhibits are both informative and visually captivating. From the meticulously restored Zeppelin artifacts to interactive displays, it offers a comprehensive journey through the era of airship innovation. The highlight was walking inside a life-sized replica of a Zeppelin gondola. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, eager to answer any questions. The museum’s location on Lake Constance provides a stunning backdrop. Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or history buff, this museum is a must-visit.
Joakim Fridheim — Google review
Interesting museum for anyone interested in the history of aviation. Not a huge museum, but lots of knowledge if interested. Not too much for young kids. There was a couple hands on displays, but mostly targeting older kids and adults. Favourite fact: zeppelin crossed from Europe to South America in 86 hours.
Jason Bazylak — Google review
Excellent display with lots of interactive exhibits. Bags and backpacks not allowed but can be stored in lockers for a fee. Remember to bring some coins. The fee for the lockers is of course refunded after the visi

Place accessible to all, very positive visitor experience having been able to take postcards to deepen the topics covered for tourists. I highly recommend parents to take their children to both the Zeppelin museum and today's Zeppelin flight point

Must-see in Friedrichshafen, and well worth a trip for anyone interested in the Hindenburg or the golden age of blimps and airships.
The tourist attraction SEA LIFE Konstanz is a place where different kinds of aquatic animals from around the world are housed in five pools. These pools simulate their natural habitats, giving visitors an opportunity to see some of the top creatures in the world up close.
Great place with small kids. Lot of interactive toys, and places to crawl into. I really enjoyed the area with the penguins. It's well done. Also nicely done the area with the local fishes, it helps the kids to see what is there in the lake. Unfortunately some toys were not available due to Covid regulations.
But altogether great place to spend a couple of hours.
Anna Szekrenyi — Google review
They have limited collection of fishes, but what ever they have they maintaining it really well.
It won’t take more than 1-2 hours to cover the whole place. Ticket price is too high and this place doesn’t worth the ticket cost.
Hemanth Naga Prasad Seethamraju — Google review
It’s a short but beautiful experience. They also let you touch some of the creatures which is very fun. Also I’ve seen a fish that looks like it has glitter on it’s scales which i thought was pretty awesome
Laura Ostafe — Google review
SEA LIFE hosts quite number of species from all around the world 🌍 More room would be nice because the experience is getting harder when the ground is crowded. Buying tickets in advance is advised as it regulates the hours. Overall, it would be a nice experience for you and your family.

Always worth a visit. Plan about 2 hours to see all exhibitions. There is a water tunnel to see sharks and giant turtles. Parking available at the Lago.
Olaf Jonsek — Google review
It was actually much better than I had hoped. Neither sharks nor penguins fit to what I imagine lives in Bodensee. 🙂
However both children enjoyed it, not only aquariums but also the interactive part. And it was not boring to me either.

A wonderful place where children or adults can see different species of fish from around the world, bonus sharks or penguins at the end of the tour. Upstairs there is also an exhibition of stuffed wild animals, beautifully arranged and with a detailed description. A bit exaggerated ticket prices which will be purchased online. The parking was somewhere at 4E for four hours inside the complex. I was also in the summer in the port area, absolutely gorgeous, full of tourists but now in the winter a bit too quiet.

The place has good access to public transport. Friendly staff. worth visiting if you love the underwater world. People spend 2-3 hour depending on average.
Preethi — Google review
Overall I enjoyed my visit, but there were a couple inconveniences that don't let me give it 5 stars.
I know maintaining such a place is a massive undertaking, but 20€ feels expensive. Had it been cheaper, I would visit it again sometime.
The underwater tunnel wasn't optimally maintained, the glass is very, very scratched, and some parts had a layer of dirt/dust.
The penguins were acting strange, stuck to the display glass. I felt sad for them, it was an anomalous behavior, and made obvious that they don't belong there.
On the good side, it was nicely decorated. The nature museum was a bit underwhelming, but I felt the passion put into the still animals, interacting with each other and their environment. Explore it thoroughly, my favorite part of it was hidden!
It took me slightly less than 1h30min to visit it alone. If you can afford it, I'd recommend checking it out at least once.
David Toro Mart?nez — Google review
It's really nice and informative place for all to visit. Some staff is really good, who gives you all information about sea creatures. Best experience with nature. The old lady at the exit door haven't good behavior with children.

Nice place, some of the marine life and creatures were so well displayed, not only young children even the adults would find it mesmerizing. Worth visiting 😊
N K — Google review
Went with husband and 2 kids (4 and 2 years old), we were excited as it just reopened 2 days ago. However the fish on display are limited and within 45 minutes you are at the exit. Expected a bigger variety for the prices (60 Euros for the family) they charge.
Eva Yanambakam — Google review
This is one of the better Sea life parks. You will need to purchase tickets online and reserve a time slot. The slot can be moved up to five times, which we had to do, since our connection was late.
The experience was great - kids loved all the large aquariums and these fishes.
The location is very convenient if you arrive via ship in the harbour - just a short walk across.
Be aware that the ferry harbor is far outside and you will need to take the bus.
Guido Oswald — Google review
Its a very entertaining place for all age groups. I got to rxperience a huge variety of sea creatures from upfront. Small sharks to huge stingrays, it was really reasly good. The brst part of sealife was the penguins, its so beauuuutiful to see them upfront. I loved every bit of it.
Dee K — Google review
The experience overall was underwhelming. Although the queue was short and the staff were nice, it felt very unorganized and messy.
Too many people and not enough space/staff to organize. The aquarium praises itself with a big variety of animals, but you won’t need more than 45 minutes to look at everything😬.
Only interesting for young children.
Additionally the animals didn’t seem to have a lot of space and seemed distressed by the huge amount of people.
Would not recommend; too overpriced and not well maintained.

Sea Life is a serene haven for anyone fascinated by the mysteries of the sea. Whether you're a marine biology enthusiast or a family looking for an educational outing, this harbor provides a harmonious blend of entertainment and enlightenment. I highly recommend Sea Life for a day filled with awe, wonder, and a newfound love for our marine neighbors.
Jonathan Kigozi — Google review
It's much smaller in the inside than it looks from the outside. There are aquarium sets I really liked, such as the sunken ship but it is quite a short visit and for the efty price, it's definitely not a good quality/price ratio. There are much nicer, bigger, modern aquariums which are cheaper. I understand its situation probably doesn't make it ideal but this place cannot compete with other aquariums I've visited. Simple.
Simon W. — Google review
I paid 22€ for only 20 mins.
If the price is 11€, it's fair enough.
Mainau Island, accessible via a bridge on Lake Constance, is a verdant haven created by Prince Lennart Bernadotte. The island boasts beautiful parks and gardens with an array of flowering plants and towering trees that offer guests a sense of tranquility and beauty. Its complete isolation from the outside world gives it its unique character. Despite its popularity as a weekend destination, the picturesque scenery and serene atmosphere make Mainau Island an ideal place for leisurely walks with loved ones on a Sunday.
Prince Lennart Bernadotte created a natural fairy tale on his island. Vases with flowering plants, fragrant rose gardens, trees of incredible height envelop guests with a sense of Harmony and Beauty.
Ideal place for walking.
The complete isolation of the island on Lake Constance is probably the key to its uniqueness.

The island is beautiful. Sadly it has lost it's spark over the years and the price for the entrance is immensely high. I'd still recommend it for people who simply want to take a walk in the nature.

Absolutely a nice place to visit especially during pleasant weather. Good for families with kids too. Spacious park with many things to see and experience. Lots of shops and cafes to enjoy a good break before continuing. Still, I find it rather too EXPENSIVE for German standard at Eur25 per adult. Parking another Eur6 per day.

Nice garden island with flowers, you can smell scent of flowers while entering the garden and there are different plants. Little pond with ducks and fishes. There is little farm with goats where kids can feed and play around with goats and a play area for kids with small pool. Good restaurants. Can spend around 2 to 3 hours here. Boats towards Meersburg or Konstanz is not very frequent so plan accordingly. Entrance ticket 22 EUR per person looks overpriced.

There are many types of plant and flower here. You should come here from around middle of April to middle of July in order to have the best experience.
From the harbor on the Mainau island, you can take boat trip to Konstanz harbor or to the other side of Bodensee at Meersburg. It's a good way to enjoy the beauty of Bodensee. 😉

OVER PRICED - TOO MUCH HYPE - NEVER A MUST SEE SPOT.
Just reached home after a disappointing visit to 'Insel Mainau'.
€26 for a very average "botanical" garden. Simply looting the money hyping this spot as a must see in the locality.
A visit could be recommendable if entry costed €10 or €15. That is our "rating" for the spot. An additional €6 was needed for the parking. So we, as a group of 4 couples had to spent €110 for a very basic attraction. So NEVER a MUST SEE per our experience. (Keukenhof garden in Amsterdam visit cost €20 -OR- Munich Botanical garden just costs just €5)
Kids can enjoy a bit as there are some interesting options for them like 'Kinderland', Pony area, animal feeding area etc. The garden was really disappointing with the "quality" of flowers and maintenance. Some guest-house gardeners in and around the area had better knowledge on how to maintain gardens.
The attitude of the staff was very disappointing. Specially the person at that time who was standing at the ticket check area. I asked for a map which was next to him in hundred's - And he simply said "I CANNOT GET ONE". His face felt (for me) like I asked him to give me his salary for that month!
Mainau Island is recommendable only if you have no other plans to kill your time. Still, if you plan to visit - better take a ticket online which can be available at €23 and will help you skip the ticket counter queue (ticket counter only accepted cash on our day of visit - unbelievable in 2022). And better plan a complete day at the place to comfortably walk through the whole area.

We as a family have been to this island several times and we never get tired coming to this island. It is such a beautiful and serene place.
Every month of spring, summer and autumn has something to offer and a different shades of flowers bloom. March is the time for crocuses and daffodils, April the time of sakura magnolias and tulips, May & June the time of roses, August the time of lotuses & dahlias.
It is such a joy to visit the island. The boat ride from Konstanz to Mainau during sunny days is simply mesmerizing. Nowadays you can purchase the entrance ticket online and do a no touch check-in via the QR code.
In our latest visit there was this musical instruments along with orchids exhibition which was just wow!
There are plenty of restaurants to eat, a play area for the kids, some animals, a pappilonrama and a lot of benches with shades. If you want to bask in the sun, grab a chair in the chinese/japanese garden and be on that chair for 20 minutes. You will feel rejuvenated!
If you do come in late March, early April look for that sakura tree near the 100 year old redwood trees. That sakura tree is right from the story books. Sit below its falling petals and contemplate the ephemeral nature of this life. Live it and enjoy!

A must see when nearby.
Many say it is costly, it is.
However it is simular to visiting a zoo but instead of animals you have all sorts of plants. You can spent a whole day here if you want.
Don't hesitate, just do it!
Some pictures to show a minority of the islands beauty.
Titlis is a renowned mountain peak that boasts of various attractions including the world's first cable car, skiing area, suspension bridge, and glacier caves. Although it can only be accessed by car, it provides a cheaper alternative to Pilatus or Tiltis especially for those without the Swiss Travel Pass. Visitors can take advantage of the CHF13 two-way lift or CHF10 one-way offer to explore this beautiful attraction from 9:30 AM to 6 PM.
This was my third visit to Switzerland, but the very first to Mt. Titlis.
In one word this was the most amazing experience from our 8 day Swiss tour.
Best to visit Mt. Titlis is from Lucerne, as it is only around 30-45 min drive from there.
When reaching Engelberg there're several big parking lots, with a flat day fee of 10 CHF. From here the adventure starts.
You change two cable cars to reach the summit at 3.000 meters. The second rotating cable car is a masterpiece.
Once up you think you're on top of the world - unseen beauty of Alpine peaks all around you from the viewing terrace.
Two outstanding attractions are included in your entry ticket - the Glacier cave walk in an ice tunnel and terrific suspended bridge walk outside.
Make sure to visit the Trubsee middle cable car station, as there's a beautiful walk around the lake. You can do it on your way up or down with the same ticket.
Count on around 3-4 hrs for a proper visit without transport time from your location.
TIPS:
1. Buy your ticket online via Getyourguide - they were around 20% cheaper than on the official site and at the counter.
2. Doublecheck the weather before you go, if it's cloudy there's hardly no point going

It was so beautiful and peaceful! Went during summer time and it was still very cold on top but it was really fun! The cable car ride with a really pretty view, the slope with little seats to go down with, the chair lift ride, all of it was very fun!

I had the time of my life here. Located at 10,500 feet above the sea level, it's one of the most sought after tourist destination in Switzerland. Take a train ride to Engelberg and then continue with the cable car rides. In the end enjoy the slow rotating Gondola. The mountains are covered in snow and make for an amazing view.
People who enjoy skiing can do ski here. The famous movie ddlj posters are also here. And of course a walk to the highest suspension bridge is an awesome experience.

Beautiful mountain with spectacular views. The ride to the top of the mountain is amazing ! There are 2 types of cable cars. First one is normal with 6-8 person capacity. Second one is a big one and is a revolving cable Car which gives everyone a 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains. There is also an additional open cable Car which is super fun there are several activities at the top to do and visit. Ice caves, skywalk bridge, open cable Car etc. There are restaurants at the top which serve variety of food from Indian to European. The ticket of the cable car up and down is 96 CHF and can be bought at the counter below. Summer season is usually crowded. There are plenty of car and bus parking spaces available at the foot of the mountain. Must visit !!

Beautiful and stunning views. While going up the hill it was cloudy and was no visibility. It looked just like a moon base when we got to the top! So cool!
You make your way up via rotating cable car! Thrilling!
Make sure you do the cliff walk, ice cave, and don’t forget to sledge! So much fun!
Titlis is definitely worth the trip! Just incredible!

A good experience. DDLJ shot here. Go for the views. The minimum temperature is -23 degree celsius during winters. Be sure to check weather forecast as trolleys could be closed if snowfall is there.

One of the best activities for the family during summer. Titlis is a very interesting place where the snow covers the mountain, everyone is playing with the snow while temperatures are reasonably low..
Waiting ques is long and can take up to 1 hour...
Again, you will face another que at the cable cars especially if you are late..
I prefer to purchase tickets in advance..
Parking lot is available and you have to pay...
Usually, it will take you 2 to 3 hours to have a proper visit... Other people take 2 days instead of one especially when you do hiking....
Opens from 9 am till 5 pm...
I would say it's cheaper than top of Europe....
Best to go there before mid June as these years temperatures are going high during summer..

No words. Take a train to engelberg from Zurich, enjoy the ride on rope way to the mountain top. There is just divine and heavenly beauty to be inhaled. Don't miss the opportunity, just visit.
The surrounding mountain view both in winter and summer are equally enjoyable.
I recommend to carry some little snack and water along with you to avoid rush at hill top restaurant.

The Swiss Alps experience is brought to life as you adventure up the mountain in the world largest cable car and go over the grassy green hills which turn into snow hills. You reach the top by the largest cable car in the world, it was an awesome experience. At the top you can just stay in the gift shop and lodge area or you can seek adventure on the ice flyer, tube riding, ice cave, and finish with a warm hot chocolate in the restaurant. The views are breathtaking, a must do experience.

Located at 1.5 hours drive away to North from Zurich city. It is one of the best visiting points in Switzerland. There are multiple options to reach the 1st level of the mount Titlis. Via fennicular or by cable car. Fennicular may not drop you to the top, while via cable car, you can easily visit top through different levels.
84 Euros or 100 USD ticket can be used at cable cars, roatator, and Galacier cave as well.
There are multiple cafes at different levels of mount Titlis.
I would really recommend you to have coffee there.
At the end, it is one of the best places I have ever visited.

Mount Titlis is also one of the scenic spots in the Alps, with an altitude of more than 3,000 meters. Cable cars are mainly used as transportation.
Although they are all cable cars, they are different in space. The latest cable car is the first in the world, it can accommodate 80 people, and it rotates 360 degrees. All the beautiful scenery can be seen from all angles. It does not take much time to climb to the top and enjoy the amazing views.
Feel the stunning scenery. There are souvenir shops and restaurants on the top of the mountain for tourists to enjoy delicious food and beautiful scenery. It is a very popular tourist ski resort!
If I have the chance, I will definitely visit again next time~

A popular destination for tourists, Lake Lucerne is the fourth-largest lake in Switzerland and offers boat trips with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The well-preserved old town situated right on the lake adds to its allure, making it a must-visit place for alpine scenery enthusiasts. To fully explore this compact city, it's recommended to spend a whole day on foot. The train station located in the city center provides easy access to all parts of Lucerne via public transport.

This lake and this area in general, is very scenic and relaxing. The water was placid and tranquil as well. It offers nice views of the surrounding city of Luzern and it's mountains. I recommend taking a boat tour of the lake. It is an hour long with one stop round trip. Definitely worth seeing and pretty hard to avoid if you visit Luzern.

It is stunning, with a backdrop of mountains and punctuated by little towns, villages and settlements along the coastline. The water is pristine and often changes colour.
Better still, if you're heading to the Gotthard Panorama Express, catch the paddle steamer all the way to Fluelen, a trip of about 2.75 hours and the scenery just gets better and better (have your camera ready). If that is what you are doing, then you can book your luggage through to the train at the departure point in Luzern, so you don't have to worry about carrying it on board.

Best place to be visited during all season. Super combination of mountains along with lakes and also boat rides makes it complete package.

Sailed from Lucerne to Flüelen on the Uri, Europe's oldest paddle steamer. The 100 year old boat is in the best possible conditions and offers all amenities with a flair of the grand old times. The panoramic boat ride lasts around 2:45 h, in early October there was a fresh breeze so bring warm cloth if you plan to stay outside. The upper deck is beautifully sunny, but other areas more wind protected. The morning fog soon lifted and views opened, so don't be deterred if the morning looks gloomy. The restaurant serves food and drink, but nobody minds if you bring your own either. Indoors there are information panels and one can watch the steam engine in full action. It looks as shiny and new as it started operations yesterday, not 100 years ago.

We took the train from Zurich to Lucerne. It was a beautiful summer day, and I was wearing my favorite cotton high-top shoes. From Lucerne, we boarded a boat that crossed the lake toward Alpnachstad station. From there, we would take the train up the mountain to the top. Lake Lucerne shimmered in the bright sunlight as we sliced through the crystalline waves. While I twisted in my seat to get a better look at the landscape, I shifted my feet, turning them left, then right. My ankles were sore, but I couldn’t figure out why.

As you can see in the pictures - there’s no lack of fun and exploration at this place. My brains couldn’t take more than 20 activities and my husband’s neural pathways were overwhelmed by the end of the first level. It’s a place to feel FOMO so be cautious not to overstimulate your cognitive abilities (or inabilities) because you’ll need more bandwidth for the kids later at home 🤭 Most kids would like this. Mine not so much because he has sensory processing disorder. Those with auditory and vision processing challenges might find it overstimulating indoors (both the space, people and activities) so do head out to the musical and multi sensory garden for some much needed downtime.

Waiter demanding tip let them down.
Good food, good ambiance, reasonable prices on lunch special BUT will never return after waiter demands a tip. He mentioned it four or five times and made the our use of our credit card difficult until a tip was added. He only cleared out plates.
A more senior waiter, more smartly dressed, perhaps the owner, was much more pleasant taking our order, delivering the food and second glass of wine. I tip for excellent service not for just doing the job.
Sadly our end to this meal means we will not return and therefore can’t recommend it.

The restaurant service and food were not good for the price. The servers were not nice and very impatient. Even though I was also staying there I was waiting to meet someone and they practically tried to get rid of me. I had to sit and was forced to order food to stay there which was outside even though there were lots of empty tables. They belittled me for visiting with my niece for what they thought was too long even though it was only about an hour. Will never eat here or stay here again. The room was big e good at all with a broken television and other problems including no soap.

Really great steak. Mediocre service. Waiter with short facial hair asked for a tip, I proceeded to add 4 francs out of courtesy, he cancelled my credit card payment and said typically people tip 10%, I put 0 francs and he basically threw a fit at the table dropping my credit card and slamming the receipt on the table (not even over exaggerating...) made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but all I had to do was walk out the restaurant. Won't be coming back again.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a very warm hospitality. Also, we were showed to a table immediately even though we said we didn't book a table. All of the staff was very helpful, attentive, and friendly and big smiles on their faces.
The staff was always asking if we needed anything or if everything was okay, which felt very nice. When we were trying to take pictures, one of the staff also came in to help without being asked when he saw us. We also didn't have to wait too long for the food.
I had ostrich steak on a hot plate which was soooo juicy. Me likey very much🥰🥰. I also like how they have so many side dishes, including the risotto I chose. I also tried the rib eye hot plate steak which was very nice because we can choose the wellness of the steak😂 although we had to be very careful not to accidentally touch it (my dad did😅😅) .
Then, I ended this meal with tiramisu with fresh fruits and my parents had ice cream (sour cream, passion fruit, walnut)
Overall, I was very impressed this candle lit steak dinner ❤❤

Nice little hotel in the heart of the Old Town in Zürich where there are lots of restaurants and shops, and it is also only a short walk from Zürich central station and tram stops. It sits above a restaurant of the same name. Recommended for couples only as the rooms are very small.
The Highlights:
- the rooms are very clean upon check in, and despite being small, has the basic necessities: bed, air conditioning, mini fridge, kettle, Closet, TV, hot water, towels, etc. It's also non-smoking which is really appreciated, considering how much people seem to smoke here in Zürich.
- Another highlight is that it has a lift (elevator) that fits 4 people with no luggage, or 2 people with 2 suitcases
- The continental breakfast included in the room has two kinds of bread, two kinds of cold cuts, some fruit, jams, three kinds of cheeses, juices, coffee and tea - enough to fuel up for the morning until lunch time.
-Although the hotel is in the heart of the Old Town with bars and restaurants right below it, the sound proofing of the windows is pretty good as we couldn't hear the outside world once we've shut them properly.
What can be improved:
- Customer service leaves much to be desired. The people serving in the morning don't seem to want to host people at all as he didn't want to interact with any guest, save to serve us coffee or tea. This is observed both days we had breakfast there.
- Our room also wasn't cleaned. Not sure what the custom here in Switzerland is, but when we returned to our room after our second day, we found that our bed wasn't turned over, the dirty towel on the floor was hung up against the towels we wanted to reuse, the complimentary drinking water was not replaced. The only things done were opening the window to let air in and the trash had been taken out. If not for those, we wouldn't have known someone was in our room.
- The pillows were very flat and if you folded them, they would stay folded (which means they are expired and should be replaced). This is minor if it doesn't bother you, or course.
- as mentioned, the room is very small so be mindful of that if you are planning to bring large suitcases for your trip as there's little room to place them in.
Overall, I would only recommend this hotel for staying in Zürich for its location and value for money and not for any other reason.

I ordered a sirloin steak well done with a baked potato no sour cream but with butter. The meal came with the steak being seared on both sides but raw in the middle and I said this is not cooked to my liking he said you have to cook it yourself on the stone I said I'm paying you $50 for a steak and I have to cook it? The waiter ended up cooking it the rest of the way on the stone which took about half an hour.
The baked potato did not come with any butter like I asked and no skin I like to eat the skin on my baked potato but there was none it looked like a piece of lasagna. In addition the steak was tough I did not believe it was a sirloin because it had gristle in it. I did have dessert apple pie ice cream and it was delicious. No I won't be back.

The street originated from humble beginnings, however, and today it is one of the most popular places in all of Zurich to shop for luxury items. Many of the worlds best known designers have stores on this street, as well as the headquarters of Credit Suisse.

We love the Bahnhofstrasse! Every time when we visited Zurich, we would always dropped by the Bahnhofstrasse!
This long shopping street is in the heart of Zurich, it runs through from North to South, which begins from the train station & end at the edge of the Zurich lake.
Being one of the most expensive shopping streets in Europe & the main commercial hub in Zurich, you would be surprised that you could still find many shops that are very affordable for normal people, I.e. H&M, Adidas, Nike...etc. The closer to the lake, the more expensive they are. (i.e. lined with upmarket shops selling jewelleries or Rolax...etc.) There are also serval lovely but very affordable restaurants located on the side streets along Bahnhofstrasse.
The street is always very clean and there are tramlines running along it. It is very easy to walk & we love it!

So many familiar designer stores and nice restaurants and café lining this lively street, with the road run by their electric trams. There is also a small plaza along the street and giant Swiss flags hang from overhead wires. The streets are surprisingly clean for a very busy and expensive street. Truly combines elements of the old Swiss world, and the more modern ways. You can also get views of both the Grossmünster and Frausmünster from here.

The Chapel Bridge in Lucerne is a wooden bridge that spans the Reuss River. It is one of the oldest covered bridges in Europe, and it is named after nearby St. Peter's Chapel. The octagonal water tower, built in the early 14th century, is the city's most photographed landmark.
Beautiful place for sightseeing. The old wooden bridge has a sad history but pretty to look at. One can easily roam the entire city and admire the old Town architecture.
The lake has many swans and ducks swimming, it's very cute. Do take a walk in the bridge.

The oldest bridge in Europe. You can read the historical facts online or follow one of the many walking tours available to grasp its significance.
This bridge provides a different architecture scene compared to its surrounding. Yet it does not seem out of place. Rather, it elevates the scenery as one of the most picturesque in Luzerne.
There are tons of alfresco dining available around the area which allows you to enjoy the scenery while eating and drinking.
Because of its popularity with tours and tourists, this bridge can be very crowded and will be difficult to navigate.

It's gorgeous and it's for free. What's not to like? It's worth noting there are stairs involved so there are some potential accessibility issues if you are not so mobile or have a stroller with you (like we did). Wasn't too busy when we visited (end of winter) but I can see this bridge getting packed with tourists during more popular times.
Laura Maxwell — Google review
We visited world's oldest truss bridge today and happily ticked one item off our bucket list. This bridge restored after a fire in the 90s still has some of the original paintings left in it. It's at the centre of town connecting the two banks and looks wonderful with the water tower beside it.

Iconic landmark of Lucerne. Aside from the incredible lake, it's a must-see, or you have never been to this city. But it's busy, crazy busy, and you need to be patient to get that shot. I wished we had more time to see more sights of this lovely city, maybe another day.

The visibility can be tricky due to the clouds so I would advise go a little bit later during the day. The cart all the way up (return) was around 70 e per person.
There is a parking near by that cost us 5 euro for 5 hours.
There are restaurants all the way up. We took fries, coke and pretzel for total of 17e
The hill itself has few small hikes around the peak which is great.
It is possible to hike all the way up or down from the peak.

Wonderful place with a fantastic scenery. A lot of short (but steep) trails and beautiful climb up by the cable car. Take the time to visit the area half way up. It provides a different and nice angle.
It is better to take some snacks and drinks with you since the food and drink prices at the shops are as high as the mountain itself.

The views when we went up on the cog-wheel train were absolutely stunning, and I really enjoyed them. But when we reached the top, some clouds came and covered the great views. However, even with the clouds, it was still an amazing experience that I'll remember.

What an amazing experience. From my travelling experience, what makes Switzerland better than most countries is the infrastructure. You go the most remote locations and you will find trains, trams, buses and shops. Plus, very rarely do you not get phone reception. Amazing experience for a weekend.

Mount Pilatus was only white fog for us. There was a tonne of crowd with us waiting for the clouds to go away! But the ride up the gondola and the view is beautiful. The fun thing is that we can get down at any of the stops and hike up or down as per our choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the clouds above, it felt like we were in heaven 😂, everything was blanket white. We hiked down a few kilometres till the last gondola stop. And the walk is steep but very very scenic. If you have the will and stamina, walk down a bit. It’s absolutely beautiful valley and the views are amazing 😍

We took the cable car up and cogwheel train down. This way we avoided the big crowd. We also missed the best ferry schedule so we went back to Luzern, visited the museum and then we took a evening cruise to Weggis. It was a perfect day spent in Luzern.

It was one of the best trips we’ve had in Switzerland. There are different routes to do it, we chose to go with the boat from Luzern, then the funicular up the mountain and then the gondola and cable car down to Kriens and the bus back to Luzern - it was absolutely brilliant. Took a total of 5 - 5.5 hours from the moment we got on the boat. It is recommended to reserve a time slot for the cogwheel train otherwise you would need to wait more.

Picturesquare views from the top. Price from Kulm to Pilatus and back was 62 CHF, but it really pays off. I was at the beginning of march, aby 0 degrees on top, and wind. Not crowded, but I expect it is in high season. In Kulm you can find parking, 5 CHF for whole day, so not too expensive. I definitely recommed to visit Pilatus if you are in Switzerland.
Marta Bohonos — Google review
The view from the pick is absolutely stunning! The round trip ticket with the cable car cost 78 CHF. I went on Sunday so the line for taking the gondola was huge. I waited 30-40 min in the line despite the fact that I had an online ticket purchased before.
You should consider 2-3 hours at the peak of the mountain. There are several points to eat, souvenir
and Swiss watches shops and restaurants.
Don't forget to wear comfy clothes and shoes, otherwise it will be difficult to hike.
The Lion Monument is a significant tourist attraction in Lucerne, Switzerland. It depicts a lion carved out of natural sandstone rock, which appears to be dying from being impaled by a broken spear. The monument was built to honor Swiss mercenaries who lost their lives while defending King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette during the attack on Tuileries Palace in 1792.
This Monument is a must visit when in Lucerne. There is a nice Cafe there to grab a drink or small meal as well. A quick place to visit.

We were going through the centre of Luzern one day evening. And it was magical. Some parts of town has fairy-tale atmosphere, like these on the pics. Gorgeous monument sculpted directly in the rock. If you're lucky to go in the afternoon, when the sunshines hit the sculpture it gives more depth to the art. We sat on a bench for several minutes to appreciate its beauty. Free entrance.

A huge sculpture of lion carved from the stone. Although the history is very sad but it is a majestic piece of art work that you see here. A big respect to the people for the memory of whom it was constructed. It is a part of the walking tour that you take with your guide in the city, so you are well informed about the history behind it. Really impressive.

The Lion Monument was one of the most detailed pieces of rock I've ever seen. It was definitely very moving and sad, yet beautiful at the same time. I learned upon visiting, how prestigious the Swiss Mercenaries/Guards were in those times and continue to serve at The Vatican. This monument is a must visit if you are in Luzern.

The Lion Monument is a truly captivating piece of art that embodies deep emotion and historical significance. Carved into the rock face, this monument depicts a dying lion, a powerful symbol of courage and sacrifice. The intricacy of the sculpture's details, from the texture of the lion's fur to the facial expressions, is simply remarkable. The setting, surrounded by a tranquil pond and lush vegetation, adds to the monument's impact, creating a reflective and solemn atmosphere. Visiting the Lion Monument is an experience that evokes contemplation about the past and pays homage to the fallen soldiers it honors.

It is recommended to come when the light is at an oblique angle. It can be morning or evening. To better capture the details of the monuments carved into the rocks without being too contrasty. The monuments are very large compared to people. The surrounding area has stories to tell. You should take time to sit and relax and remember the origin of creation and the serenity of the place of the departing lion

Rhine Falls is a tourist spot in Switzerland that boasts of being the largest waterfall in Europe. This natural wonder has a width of 150 meters and height of 23 meters, which can be enjoyed by tourists through boat trips, viewing platforms, and guided tours. Laufen Castle serves as one great option to view the falls while various decks provide another alternative. The thunderous Rheinfall produces an impressive flow of water with abundant photo opportunities along its shore trails.
This is the seventh time I have been here. Can really recommend it for the first really warm spring days. Easy to park, free parking at the castle side of the falls. Electric charging parking is also available. Do spend the extra money for the tickets to go down to the waterline to see the force of the water firsthand. We took the blue line and this was definitely worth the money. Well worth a visit!

You cannot come to Switzerland and not see this waterfall! It is a place that will meet your expectations with its nature and historical structure. A cold beer in the summer can also be good. Have fun now.

Please research about this place before going and the best times to go. Definitely go when there is nice sunlight since the lighting there is pretty bad to take photos of the waterfall in dark. Rhine falls is as beautiful as it gets, but I would highly recommend taking the boat ride of 75 minutes, which goes along the river. It takes you along in quiet, serene waters, with wind blowing in your hair. You can enjoy nature, birds all around, sun, sky and water. You need at least 3-4 hours to soak it all in! Not far from Zurich, it’s super easy with Swiss rail pass, with train stop right at the falls! Don’t miss it 💜

This is an amazing, beautiful, and breathtaking experience! We did the "yellow" tour which takes you to the rock island. You are dropped off, and you can climb some VERY steep stairs to be right in the middle of the falls. It is very crowded during the season, so reservations are highly recommended. Food onsite is typically touristy menu and way over prices. Try to plan a lunch or something in the local towns and experience real traditional dishes.

Simple waterfall which can be viewed from a distance. Nice view to spend some time in nature. Considering the height and force, it'd be nicer if we could reach a closer place. But nevertheless, it's worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.

Although we did not go to the platform above the waterfall, we still had an amazing view of the whole waterfall with the landscape and buildings around it. Personally, I feel the tickets are not the best value due to view offered from the pier opposite of the falls also offer a very good view however the tickets are not too expensive. I also suggest to bring a poncho if you are going to the platform above the falls.

Beautiful. First we entered from the side of the fortress. From there the view is good, but visibility is poor. There is an elevator that goes down to the waterfall. We weren't there. We came from the direction of the city. There is a free toilet and wheelchair ramps. Then go to the water mill. There are better views there.

Loved it! We are visiting in March and it was the perfect decision to start the vacation with Rhine falls. We were lucky to witness the rainbow, we soaked in the sun and ended with the beautiful boat ride.

"Visiting the Rhine Falls was an absolutely phenomenal experience! The sheer power and beauty of the falls are mesmerizing, making it a highlight of my trip to Switzerland. Whether you're observing from the platforms or taking a boat ride closer to the falls, the views are spectacular. Don't miss out on this natural wonder. It's well worth the visit any time of the year. A solid five-star experience!"

Arriving around 15-00 was perfect; fewer people and boat rides available until 17-00 gave us ample time to explore. We even snagged solitary photos under the falls, which felt impossible during the day. The experience was truly impressive.

Place to enjoy nature and sound of fall..many close up look up point surrounded and benches to see & relax a bit.. touristy place so you will see many people around.
Best way to enjoy by walking south station to ticket office via railway bridge for free

Very nice tourist attraction, with nice boat-rides near the falls with reasonable prices! The restaurants do not have a wide variety of dishes, but the place is magnificent. If you do the boat tour, take into account that you are going to get a little bit wet, but it is not something to worry about. Wear worm clothes in general, because the temperature is a little bit lower that in the town.

Plenty of options to see the falls even if you don’t want to pay, but if you want to the fee is quite low. You can go really close. Many places to walk and things too see. Mostly all dog friendly :)

This is over exaggerated place, this is europe largest water fall but not that much worthy as compared to other locations in switzerland so just spend 3-5 hours that is more than enough and also take boat ride its cost nearly 30 euro view is good so enjoy your day… have fun

Zentrum Paul Klee is a modern art museum located in Bern, Switzerland. It features two exhibition halls that display paintings, drawings, and watercolours by the renowned Swiss artist Paul Klee. Designed by the acclaimed architect Renzo Piano, the museum's distinctive 150m-long wave-like structure houses a rotating collection of Klees' works from his prolific and often playful career.
Wow, beautiful building, kids playground, great two art shows. The building is impressive, glass walls and lots of space.

The architecture is stunning and therefore totally worth the visit.
The café inside is nice too, restaurant nearby great and lots of land to walk around.
Exhibitions: Paul Klee has a fascinating story, the exhibition I saw (not sure if permanent or changing) wasn't as fascinating as the story...the changing exhibition of art brut artist was somewhat interesting and the tour we took helped a lot (great tour guide) still, at 20CHF per entrance (plus 5chf for tour) it is overpriced- 10-12CHF should be sufficient

I had studied at the university and today I saw the original papers. A well-organized exhibition, distributed in space according to the author's creativity and life. Interactive involving visitors to draw something inspired by the exhibited works. A wonderful staff. The space outside and inside offered places where you can read books, rest, etc. Very clean area. With toilets and a water fountain outside where you can drink fresh water. Free entry! Every Saturday during the month of August 23', you can visit all museums for free.

Zentrum Paul Klee is a museum dedicated to Bern’s favourite artist Paul Klee - an important 20th century Classic Modernist artist. The museum has an architecturally pleasing exterior with its wave-like form signifying the artist’s fascination with water and nature and how humans integrate with it. The interior is clean and uncluttered and makes for a very pleasing viewing experience. I chose the audio guide and it accurately reflects Klee’s inspirations and events in his life. For Paul Klee fans it would be an awe inspiring experience. For those who don’t know him then it may not overwhelm you. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and getting to know his life better. Mind you they have over 4000 pieces of the artist and roughly 100 pieces are on display so much is in storage. I particular enjoyed Pomona, Overripe and Seasnail King. The admission was included with the Swiss Travel Pass and the audio guide cost me 6 CH. Washrooms and lockers are in the basement.
Overall a great experience for me. For those who don’t know him then maybe less than inspiring.

Beautiful exhibition space celebrating Paul Klee’s life and work. Gorgeous building by Renzo Piano. Surely would want to return there on my next visit in and around Bern.
A bit on the pricey side, especially for families, factoring in parking fees, the down-sized viewing of Klee’s work, and expensive gift items. Also, not all of Paul Klee’s most cherished works are available for sale as postcards. I really missed seeing his watercolors done in Tunisia. There was nothing on display or available for sale as postcards.
The documentary movie about Paul Klee’s life was very good and worth the time.
I will surely visit again, but next time, structure my visit around an event or exhibition of interest.

The biggest collection of Paul Klee’s masterpieces. Absolutely beautiful park and a building. A lot of nice temporary exhibition. Master classes for children are also organized. Definitely worth to visit.

A spectacular arrival with a building emerging from the ground by the architect RENZO PIANO. The forms blend perfectly with the landscape, almost disappearing into it.
Once inside three interconnected buildings. One with restaurant and seminar, one with perpetual and ephemeral collection, one with research center. It is very pleasant to look at every corner of this building.
For the exhibitions, that of Paul Klee in the basement retraces its history very well through its evolution, and there are opportunities to create things.
For the ephemeral exhibition for me it was Joan Miro. A very interesting installation with very beautiful pieces to discover.
For the shop I find that something is missing, I think there are many ways to improve it.
Unmissable passage for those who appreciate art and for others too with magnificent views.

Awesome place. The architecture of the zentrum Paul Klee is like a magnet attracting one into it. I expected to see more works of Klee, but this collection was good, too. Very well maintained, friendly personal, well situated, and easily accessible with the tram (No.12).

This is definitely one of the top museums for modern art in Switzerland, honoring its citizen Paul Klee. Just now there are two exhibitions, one presenting his contemporary, Juan Miró and the second, featuring a selection of Klee's work, called "the technical frenzy of Klee". Both are extremely interesting and should not be missed. The premises are beautiful and themselves worth a visit and the museum shop is of high quality. We particularly like the Klee postcard section where you will always find something appealing to send to you friends or beloved ones. A must when visiting Berne.
Tropical indoor bathing area with palm trees, a sauna & wellness zone, plus a water park.
A welcome retreat at the end of a long weekend of sightseeing. The facility was clean and the staff was helpful with the language barrier. My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our time here sliding down the super fun water slides and relaxing in the warm mineral waters. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back!

What to say it was a great experience. The staff is very friendly, the pools are nice and we enjoyed having cocktails in the pool bar. There are many trees inside which makes the atmosphere even more relaxing. They have amazing salt baths too. We booked massages in advance and that's definitely recommended. We had the best massage therapist ever. He was very knowledgeable and made us feel super comfortable if you're up for it he's got great stories to tell, but only if you're so inclined he can also leave you to just meditate in peace.

By far one of the best swimming pools I've ever been to. The Galaxy part has a bunch of exciting slides, great with (older) children. The Oasis part is very relaxing if you want to get away from the noise for a few hours. Staff is English speaking, and the facilities were very good. Limited choice of food in the restaurant and quite expensive entry though. Be sure to buy tickets in advance, as they will be cheaper.

Hygienic, clean and very welcoming, with great views of the Black Forest - the outdoor pool is fantastic too, even while it’s snowing outside!

They try to milk tourists by applying dynamic pricing which is nowhere mentioned on their website. Avoid this and go to any local swimming pool by googling " indoor swimming pool near me" you will at least save 50 euros per person.
Also the waiting times were more than 1 hour even after paying a dynamic high price (which is double the normal price).

a super special place..
amazing in every word..
very worth visiting and not to be missed...
now more detailed details.. 😅😅
the place is amazing..
the facilities are excellent.. consider every detail.. I didn't find even one complaint On the place... dressing rooms with clean sanders..
lockers each with its own number.. opened by a bracelet they give you..
each dressing room has a body dryer, a super special idea..
facilities for children from the age of two months with hot water..
the whole place is closed..
with all the rain outside you don't feel at all .. the super special thing .. is the waves in the big pool .. every quarter of an hour. Strong waves are active in the pool, which is a great thing

Not allowed to take photos inside for privacy of other guests, amazing fun and beautiful pools. Don't recommend bringing pool toys, not needed and they will get lost/not be allowed in some pools. Storage areas for all your belongings with key. Difficult to plan a birthday there though.

Very nice place, friendly staff. Unfortunately I can't give higher points because there's a lot of people in swimming suit and bikinis walking around even making fun of the ones which are naked and enjoying a good time. When confronted, the staff told me that is allow because they can go to their rented chairs and after be naked. The management should understand that this rule allows stupid people that only go there to laugh ( like seeing people naked was funny or degrading). I think the management should take measurements to insure they clients privacy and security and not allow bikinis and swimming suits in the naked area anymore. Also I think there's should be more control since I saw a lot of people with their feet in the saunas hood.
One final note: the sauna masters are amazing, they made an amazing show, my thank you for all of them.

It's a beautiful 😍 place to visit in Germany amongst many others. There is a pictorial lake in the heart of this historical town. The town is a beautiful one and renowned for cuckoo clock ⏰️
There are plenty of things to do here with family, especially if you love outdoors and nature.
There is an Indian restaurant within the heart ❤️ of the town, which also serves delicious food.
Every side you see, it's stunning 😍
The only issue here is toilet facilities.
One of Germany's highest waterfalls, accessed by hiking trail, plus shop & café at the bottom.

I have been here a couple of times and really enjoy this beautiful town in black forest. The waterfall itself is the main attraction in the town. It's definitely worth the visit once but, the charm of the town is something else. A bus goes from Triberg station to the market area from where, you need to walk around 200 meters to reach the entrance. Check the DB app for transport information as Google maps doesn't show the bus information (at least this was the case for me, every time I visited).

This place is good to spend your evening with or without family. Its not that tough hike. There are two ways if you wish to complete the hike, one is simple way they have made who is not in mood to go breathless and other one is steep where you can shred some fats. But both the ways are not tough at all. It is worth to see this waterfall not only in summer but in winter. Since we were students we got the ticket in 7.5 € per person otherwise it is 8€ for adult. There are benches at all the level and bridge where you can stop by and relax and enjoy the view. Inside there are no counters to buy food but you can bring ur drink n food if you wish. Outside of waterfall you have lot many restaurants where you can enjoy. Its kinda tourist place so you will find international people as well. Overall it's good place to visit once at least to chill and relax.

A lovely place to go in summer as the water spray is cooling. At first the climb is relatively steep, but after that it winds gently through the woods. There are apparently red squirrels although I saw none, and I paddled in the higher pools in the ice cold water, which is also very welcome in the summer heat. Triberg itself is pretty, scenic and worth seeing.

Great day out. Entry fee of €6 I think, cash only, ATM on site but it charges €3. Need to wear hard hats, plenty of antibac wipes if needed. Route is well designed, you don't need the strongest of calf muscles but there are a lot of steps. There is a round route walk you can take once at the top of the waterfall route taking you through a forest (a long steep incline), then open countryside to a chapel, and finally down a woodland path. Route takes about 3 and half hours at a steady pace (I'm not a fast walker). The chapel has fresh running water to drink outside.

Due to winter season we were only able to do partial way that coated about 6/7 euro each.. we went in like 10min hiking for someone short,, for tall and those who hike that was about 5-7min walk.. still the waterfall was really nice and was not disappointed.. definitely would be more worth it in the summer..

Beautiful waterfall with a well laid out series of paths to walk the height of the falls, taking in various views of the fast flowing water. Fairly tame red squirrel in abundance alongside other fauna.

Gorgeous place. The green moss surrounding the waterfall makes me think at prehistoric times. I expect dinosaurs to pop out from behind the trees. The waterfall is not busy at all in winter but you might not be able to go all the way up due to ice and snow. Accessible to all, these falls offer a serene escape and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of nature. Whether seeking adventure or tranquility, the Triberg Waterfalls provide an awe-inspiring encounter with one of Germany's natural treasures.

I am so glad we went. If you park at the parking garage in town, the waterfalls are only a short walk up the hill. There is an entrance fee (about 8€ for grown ups) but it also includes the entrance fee to the Black Forest Museum and entrance to Triberg Fantasy. Make sure to hang on to the receipt!
There are two ways to see the falls. One easy way and one strenuous. We are both middle-aged, out of shape people, and we did the strenuous walk, no problem. There is so much to see that you will catch enough breaks. There are also different levels you can walk. Several bridges crossing the falls, giving you the chance to end your walk and walk back to the entrance. It is beautiful, and the shade is great in the summer heat.

One of the most iconic landmark in Basel that you have to see. If you are brave enough to climb to the top of the tower, you will be rewarded by the breathtaking view of the city across the Rhine. And if you look further, you can even see across the French and German country border. Hey, the tower is an absolute must-visit! The views are absolutely jaw-dropping, giving you the perfect overview of the city. Plus, the ticket prices are a steal compared to other towers in Europe. But hey, here's a tip: don't tackle the climb solo. Some parts of the tower can get pretty spooky with darkness, and those stairs? They're high and narrow, like something out of a medieval adventure! So grab a buddy you trust and make a day of it. Exploring the tower will easily fill up an hour of your time, but remember, it shuts down at 4 pm sharp. So get there early to soak in all the views and enjoy the breeze!

Loved their NYE service. Wholesome and emotional. Some people were unfriendly, but that is not the Minster’s fault, it however left a stain on the experience.
The building was impressive nonetheless, and extremely clean especially for how packed it was. Really beautiful place, definitely worth seeing.

Free entry, very peaceful. Worth a visit to look around

One of the most beautiful and interesting historical places to see in central Europe. Please go to the crypt and wait for the show, it's amazing! The show is played in 3 languages: English, German and French, each at different time. You'll see information about it before the entrance to the crypt.

Basel Minster is a free to enter church located at the heart of the city. It's also the location of the Basel Autumn festival and Christmas markets. It's a stunning Gothic cathedral, stands as an architectural marvel. You can buy tickets to go up the cathedral's tower to experience panoramic views of Basel and the Rhine River. Its timeless beauty and cultural significance make it a jewel in Switzerland's heritage and a true testament to Gothic architecture's grandeur.

So beautiful, big and well maintained. You can freely walk all around inside the church. Don't miss to go up on the towers, it's a very great experience. It costs only 6chf. It has a stunning view of the City of Basel.

We used the bus get here from Messeplatz, and I have to say, please WALK to the church...it's an absolutely wonderful experience that I will recommend to anyone. there is also a free to use WC service just opposite the church. 9/10 recommend ‼️

Not crowded and nice place to understand a bit of history while in Basel. Large cathedral with wonderful shades of light and dark. I'd love to hear what the acoustics are like when they play the pipe organ.

Beautiful cathedral. It was closed when I got there, I was hoping to attend the evening prayer session, as I saw on the website. It didn’t happen maybe because of an outdoor cinema event. At the back of the cathedral you can see the nice view of Basel and Rhine River

This is a Gothic building located on a hillside beside the Rhine River. The church has a platform from which you can overlook the city scenery on the other side of the Rhine.

A beautiful cathedral in the middle of Old Town Square. The interior is so elegant and simple, and the place definitely has a soul that touches your heart. It is closed after 16.00, so, pay a visit just before the evening.

So nice!!!! It's historical and elegant! I experienced a midday prayer at this location today, it came with very traditional ceremony with some music and singings, super nice experience! And the sight of the river is very stunning too!

Basel Monastery is located in Basel, Switzerland and is one of the city's major tourist attractions. The monastery is on the Swiss national heritage list. The monastery, which was originally built for the Catholic Church, was transferred to the Protestant Church after the Reformation. The building, which was influenced by Romanex architecture and Gothic architecture between 1019 and 1500, was destroyed in the 1356 Basel Earthquake and was rebuilt by Johannes Gmünd, the architect of the Freiburg Monastery, and completed by Ulrich Ensingen in 1421. The south tower was completed by Hans von Nußdorf in 1500.
When you go to Basel, you should definitely see this place and the Palatinate (Palatinate) Viewing Platform next to it.
Basel Zoo is a large zoo in Switzerland and has a wide variety of animals. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Switzerland and is known for its exotic species.
Fantastic zoo in Basel close to the city centre. Very family friendly and children are allowed to touch some animals. There is feeding of sea lions at 4pm with seats around the pool to watch it.
The zoo is beautifully laid out with lots of different areas for each type of animal.
Has an amazing restaurant and cafe at very reasonable prices.
You can also bring your own food and have a small picnic in some areas but PLEASE make sure you do not feed any animals.
You should allow at least 4 hours so you can enjoy the zoo at a relaxed pace - with young kids you might even spend the whole day there. Definitely worth a visit.

This is an amazing place. I have never seen a rhino :D The Zoo itself looks like a jungle. High grass. Trees and bushes everywhere. I suppose it makes animals feel better - like they're in their natural environment. Once you buy a ticket you get a map of the zoo. It is almost accurate. Paths are ok but not all animals are marked there. However it's not a big inconvenience. We treated it as a surprise. Great place for a family trip, even with a stroller. It took us about 2 hours to see everything.
Anna M — Google review
On an exceptionally hot morning, this beautiful zoo was delightfully cool, with ample shade from the many trees etc. There are so many animals etc. to see, in a comparatively small space - they looked well cared for in attractive surroundings. Lots of places to sit, too. My only minor criticism is that many of the buildings are brutalist in style and lack charm. Easy to reach by bus or tram.
Simon Richards — Google review
As it was the middle of winter when I visited quite a lot of the bigger animals were hiding in their sleeping quarters, but the birds were very active, preparing their nests for the breeding season.
I loved that so many of the birds were free to fly around in their enclosures or even in the open air.
The multi-layered exhibits with birds, mammals and even fish in the same enclosures were really interesting.

Great experience and a fantastic location. Lots of animals to see that seem really happy. Not to busy and the flow is well. It’s worth the trip and experience. Not expensive if you get the family pass. Thank you.

Absolutely love this place. The number and selection of animals is quite good but the zoo has many interconnected walking paths you can take at your own desire. The design and layout allows you to get pretty close to many animals. There are lots of benches all over so you can stop and rest at any point. Be sure to catch the walking of the Penguins during the colder months. Highly recommend!

Basel Zoo is a great day out! There is so much to see and the grounds are absolutely beautiful!
It’s only a 10 min walk from Basel SBB main station so it’s really easy to get to!
The enclosures seemed to be ample size and the variety of animals is great!! (I was amazed by the African Wild Dogs as I’d never seen them before)
Highly recommend if you have a day to kill in Basel!

Very good zoo, and with the Basel Card discount it's half the price, which I think is incredible!!! 11FR to visit is really good! You can see several animals, but I don't know if I was late or it was cold but many of the animals weren't in the enclosures, so I ended up only seeing the ones that were inside the buildings. Still, it was very worth it. I recommend visiting, five stars!
José Bento — Google review
The whole zoo is very nice and it's not too big but also not too small. Although a lot of things are stoll very old like the benches and some cages for the animals. Otherwise the staff seem all very friendly. And if you go early in the morning there are only a few people and it is very peaceful.

We Love a good zoo, especially ones with penguins but the indoor enclosure looked tiny for how many birds were in there..
The rest of the zoo had lots of animals to see and things to do and of course plenty of overpriced places to grab a drink (no, not just because Switzerland)
Bus stop right outside the zoo for direct access to the city center.
Worth a visit.

A must visit it Basel. If you’re staying at a hotel, the Baselcard gives you 50% discount. I spent about 2 hours in the zoo, but someone could easily spend more. The animals are clean and well kept, with employees often checking in on their welfare. This is also the first time I had the chance to watch a rhino up close. Great for a family trip.

Very large zoo with a great diversity of species to see. The highlight for me was the primates section and the penguin walk which is scheduled at specific times of the day.
The food in the zoo cantina is also quite nice with good hotdogs.
Note: With the Basel card the price is cut in half.

Little disappointed by the price, which is 20 Euro per person. For this monney I expect to see a lot of animals, but instead of this, I saw only few animals which are interesting.
Aquarium is OK, but why terrarium next to him? Why there are missing tiger, wolf, parrots... Lot of interesting animals are missing. I didn't pay entrance to see wild boar or donkeys. Even that I respect those animals, but.... Really.... In Stuttgart or Karlsruhe You can see more animals. Only thing why there are not only one star because I am satisfied with ambient where are the animals, it is almost like in they habitat. Everything else, is not deserving any stars.
The Freiburg Cathedral is a beautiful, iconic Gothic cathedral located in the heart of Freiburg, Germany. The building dates back to 1200 and features stunning lacy spires, cheeky gargoyles, and intricate entrance portal. The cathedral is decorated with a large number of artistic details, making it an excellent place to enjoy the view. There are also restaurants and stores along the street.
Very detailed cathedral, I can watch it for hours and find more and more things. Surrounded by the small local market with flowers, fruits, sausages (highly recommend to try one, very tasty stuff!), wooden goods, etc. Don’t forget to see the cathedral inside. It worth it, trust me. Reminds me the famous Strasbourg cathedral, but a smaller version of it. One love ❤️

Very Beautiful Cathedral in the town of Freiburg im Breisgau. This town is at the edge of the famous Black Forest area.
There are lot of hotels to stay very close to the Freiburger Munster, in and around the square. When we stayed for a night, the square around the Munster was occupied by a wonderful Christmas market, where you could get excellent food (including vegan options), and nice artisanal items. This place is also close to the Swiss border from Basel.

Freiburg Cathedral, since 1200s. Some interesting facts about this masterpiece. It’s actual foundation is based on a church started in 1120s, in line with that in 2020, Freiburg celebrated in 900 years Anniversary. Only Gothic church in Germany dating back to Middle Ages, which survived wars and still smiling.
Out of 16 bells, the oldest dating back to 1258, oldest Angelus bell in Germany. It took 300+ years to realize this dream. The church is surrounded with market on weekdays, called as Münster market which brings local produce for sale. This tradition has been here since Freiburg wrote its name in history. So, a visit to the market is a different vibe. Can you go the church tower. Of course. 300+ steps will take you to the top of church tower base, where you can enjoy panoramic view of Blackforest and the city. Best time is Autumn during sunset. Check closing time before the visit. The church tower Entrance ( Münsterturm) is outside the church on left side.
Wish you beautiful day.

A spectacular cathedral, right in downtown and surrounded by some beautiful old buildings. The entrance is free, and the environment inside is darkish and quiet. The glass windows are beautiful, and the shafts of light coming in are amazing. The ceiling has lovely textures, so do look up. It is nice to take a moment to sit and take in the calm. It is also lovely to walk around on the outside and notice the stone carvings.
Münsterplatz, also known as Cathedral Square, is a bustling public square located at the heart of the old town in Münster. The square is dominated by the impressive Gothic cathedral made of red sandstone, which is renowned for its towering spire visible from afar. Visitors can explore the square and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere, especially during the farmer's markets held here throughout the week.

One of the most magnificent parks that I have ever been too, if not THE most. The park itself is massive and has so much to offer. Lots of places to picnic, playgrounds, ponds and areas to boat. The flower gardens were my favorite and the storks of course! This is a must if you’re in the area. My only advice is to wear shoes/clothes you feel comfortable getting dirty because the paths aren’t paved, so it can get very dusty especially if there is a bit of wind.
The Cathedral of Strasbourg is a beautiful, gothic edifice built in 1187 to 1439 with a 16th-century astronomical clock and rose window. It is considered the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874 and still the sixth tallest church today. The walls of the cathedral keep a 1000-year history of luck and disappointment, victorious victories and unforgivable defeats.
What a wonderful cathedral!! The clock inside is really neat. I loved the nativity scenes and I'm so glad they were still up when we went in January. We climbed up the tower, which was a highlight of our entire vacation!

Came over from offenburg Germany. It was a short drive. It was on a French holiday so I think it was extra busy. The cathedral was very pretty. You could walk around on your own. There was no English translations quite. If you get an app on your phone you can just shine it on the signs and it'll read it in English for you. It was a recording picking on every now and then to ask us to shush. Although I don't think we were being loud, the crowd was in the church at that time.

The most conspicuous building in Strasbourg. It’s full of beauty and historical charm. There are lots things to see - external decorations, climbing to the top to have a great view of the city, internal decorations and carpets. Finally there is the Astronomical clock inside. The history of the cathedral reflects the history of the city which is breathtaking. In front of the church you can find lots of Noel markets in the holiday season in winter.
The vaulted, fortress-style Trier Cathedral in Germany combines elements of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture and art. As the country's oldest bishops church with a rich 1,700-year history, it showcases an eclectic mix of these architectural styles. Inside the cathedral, visitors can marvel at notable religious relics and a diverse collection of artwork spanning from late antiquity to the 20th century. The treasury houses medieval manuscripts and liturgical garments as well.
Probably one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. Absolutely splendid.
Tip: in the right aisle there are very helpful paper guides in many languages that cost 0.50€ of charge.
Reosia Nakatsumi — Google review
Deceiving from the outside, stunning from the inside!
It doesn't look as impressive as other cathedrals from the outside (at least to me as I am more used to seeing Gothic style cathedrals, not Romanesque) due to its bare brick facade, however the real beauty is hidden inside.
Right at the entrance, visitors can find a huge map with explanatory points on what is to see or grab a paper brochure for a symbolic price 0.5€ providing the same information. The cathedral inside is massive, spacious, airy and very light thanks to its stunning windows (I fell in love with these simple yet unique windows) with a modern twist that lets the sun beam directly hit the cathedral's rich decorations.
There are a lot of things to explore. Apart from admiring the architecture of the cathedral itself, there is a beautiful stucco ceiling in the west choir along with rich wood inlay. The giant organs hanging from the ceiling in the main nave was a surprise to me and visiting the altar area displaying the Holy Robe remains was just the icing on the cake. From there the whole beauty of the cathedral can be seen. It truly is a stunning piece of Romanesque architecture and its grandiose size does not cease to amaze me.
A gift shop is located right behind the altar and that is also the place from where visitors can enter the cathedrals treasury - a single room full of relics and objects - one of the richest in Germany. The entrance fee is 1.5€ and I think it's worth it. Another place that is not to be missed is the cloister - a beautiful green oasis between the cathedral and church that is accessible to the public and visitors can freely walk around. The cloister can be entered directly from the cathedral.
Restaurants and cafes are in the close proximity of the cathedral and from surrounding areas visitors are rewarded with the best views.

Wow, that's one heck of a cathedral. It's the opposite of Cologne cathedral, that I'm more used to. Light and airy, the marble ceiling subtended by wooden carved panels comes out of nowhere. Can't recommend this enough in the sun.
Make sure you take a walk into the courtyard, and the Basilica next door for the remarkably intense stained glass windows.

Absolutely stunning and the fact this was built so long ago with such detail is a testament to architecture. When this place is open it is a must see, you feel different walking inside here and lighting a candle to lost loved ones is also amazing. This medieval gothic design is amazing. A magnificent Romanesque cathedral that has stood at the heart of Trier since Roman times.
The core of the church dates back to Roman times, but the current structure has been rebuilt and restored many times. It holds a famous relic, said to be the tunic of Christ on his crucifixion and this was a major place of pilgrimage in medieval times. The carvings within the church, and the organs on the walls are most impressive to see. There are crypts beneath the cathedral, but they do not hold much of historical importance.

Fantastic place, vast, elaborate so much history, really impressed and free to enter.
Small amounts of the original plaster with frescos and painted patterns hidden on some of the pillars. Look for them.
Imagine how the interior must of looked when it was all painted inside like that.
I think the 'robe' of Jesus was just another medieval con, so many of these fake items circulated then to bring in the paying pilgrims.
This building was seriously damaged in 1944 bombings.
The restoration work had been an amazing project.

The Trier Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral and the oldest church in Germany. The construction of this structure is said to have started in the 4th century on land that had ancient Roman structures. Its grand design and massive structure are worth admiring. From the inside too, the cathedral looks lovely. The work on the walls and ceiling ( baroque west choir ceiling), the church organ and the golden gate should not be missed.

Thing Cathedral is epic. Inside it's really amazing and then just on the side there's a small exit to visit the courtyard. A must visit when in Trier.

Trier's Saint Peter's Cathedral is a stunning masterpiece of Romanesque architecture. The cathedral's intricate facade, soaring interior, and the remarkable High Altar make it a must-visit in Trier. It's a serene place for reflection and an essential stop for history and architecture enthusiasts. Don't miss it when exploring this beautiful city.

Beautiful cathedral with a lovely back garden area! This church is full of history and several eras of architecture throughout the grounds.
I recommend experiencing this through the wine walk trier tour on get your guide.
Don’t forget to find your way to the back courtyard!!!

Beautiful Cathedral. No cost to visit. Highly recommended!
The Porta Nigra, an ancient Roman city gate in Trier dating back to 180 AD, is a well-preserved and significant historical site. Constructed with heavy stone slabs, it serves as the northern entrance to the city and stands as the only surviving gate among four. Originally part of a fortified wall surrounding the Roman city, it now holds UNESCO World Heritage status. In the 11th century, it was converted into a church dedicated to St. Simeon.
A Canadian Tourist Review: A ticket to go inside Porta Nigra is 4 Euros. This is the most iconic attraction in Trier. There is some cool architecture inside but I wouldn't say it is essential to go up to the top. The view is mainly just for the ground directly below. I think you can appreciate it just as much from the outside. It is a very cool piece of Roman architecture and well worth the visit!

Beautiful piece of history. We did this with our three kids ages 5,3,1 years and they loved it even after having gone to the Roman bath ruins. The older two were able to walk the whole thing and I wore the baby. Lots of places for photos, not too crowded on the May weekend we went. There are many dining options right outside the building with lots of vendors and shopping. Highly recommend!

Such a beautiful area with lots of shops and places to eat. A stunning cathedral is just off the main courtyard. Worth the visit and recommend others to see the sights here.

A must if visiting Trier. Visited in mid-April. Allow about 90 minutes to do it justice. Four flights of (spiral) stairs, so if you are unsure on your feet think twice. Information boards have several languages on them, and the multilingual guide (avail via their intranet and your phone) really brings it to life and explains how it originally looked, and how it has survived over the years.
We parked out of town and walked in. I imagine this gets very busy during the summer.
Lots of ticket options available. Also, this is right next to the Tourist Information (very helpful staff).

Beautiful historical structure in the middle of the city
Entry fee is €4 per adult and pets are not allowed. You can ask for an audio guide or an information brochure at the reception
Take lots of pictures

An ancient city gate built in the Roman empire. It’s quite different from the other historical buildings I’ve been in Germany. Even though it’s unique, to be honest, there isn’t much to see inside. The information is a bit hard to access but the ticket is cheap so it’s definitely worth checking out if you are in Trier.

Impressive building with an interesting history. From decay to a pilgrim place to a double stacked church. This was then ordered to be demolished by Napoleon? And somehow a Roman gate survived. The free audio guide on your phone explains it all very well. The inside is interesting, inexpensive and gives a good view over Trier.

Beautiful! A must visit in Trier in my opinion.
There was a violinist playing under the gate area too, which you could hear through the whole building. That really added to the experience and made it feel even more special.

Stunning remains of the northern city gate built by the Romans almost two millennia ago. Distinctive for its dark grey sandstone. For a small fee tourists access the upper levels but the ground level and surroundings remain free to wander.

Just walked around and through. Not sure what the inside is like, but worth just walking around. Fascinating spot right in the city centre. Perfect spot for a picture or to touch some really old rocks. Well kept area when we were there.

This was cool to check out and learn the history of the area. We were able to walk throughout the structure and see the architecture first hand! Worth the drive from Kaiserslautern. The graffiti was obnoxious but some people lack an appreciation for history.

The Porto nigro is huge!! Much bigger than I expected. The platz is an interesting place. Very busy during the day with tourists. I felt a little unsafe wandering around at night but other than that had a great experience.

A large city gate from Roman era approximately 2000 years old. A majestic piece of Roman architecture, although a little stands of what remains now. We did not go inside but it was worth admiring the building while standing there. It is a good entry point to the city of Trier, just 10-12 minutes by walk from the train station. From here you can start your tour. Everything is in the walking distance.

This is one of the doors of the city. We decided to stop by in Trier, while returning from our trip in Luxembourg and Strasburgh. We were not disappointed. Not only the Porta is really nice to see, but the city is as well. A lot of people were here on Sunday and a lot friendly and smiley. We also found a public concert nearby.

It was amusing trip to German from Luxembourg. I had been went their only to see Porta Nigra. I had curious to see inside, ticket price 4 euro, as international student O had to pay 3 euro. I thought I may see many historical handy cruft inside, but it was almost empty! Only with structural building. I will not recommend too much to people to visit this place but to have a relaxation take lunch yes you may go to this area.

We took a tourist train tour here and it was a good way to have an overall view of the city, to then explore by foot by ourselves. It was 10 euros per person, 45 minutes-long. The Porta Nigra itself is impressive, and you can’t miss it when in Trier.

Very nice old place. Entry is 4€ and you can buy the ticket at the entrance, also, climb to the top to take some lovely scenic shots of the Trier city centre. Roman Built and still standing after all these years, it's a proof of quality and resiliance of Roman architecture. Very well maintained and full od historical panels that display the rich history of the place. 10/10 visit.

An extraordinary Roman city gate that is regarded to be the most intact city gate from classical times in the world (due to its incorporation into a church during the Middle Ages preventing its gradual demolition as building material was reused, which was followed by demolition of the church during Napoleon times to restore the city gate in its Roman appearance). Admission 4€, the roof level was closed for renovation, 3 other levels were accessible. One of the best Roman structures I have ever seen, especially in northwestern Europe.

A beautiful place, I recommend walking around the city and visiting other historical objects.
The Bock Casemates are an extensive network of underground tunnels and galleries that were constructed in 1644 as a part of the Fortress of Luxembourg. The fortress was built on the Bock promontory, which was chosen for its strategic location offering natural protection. Over the centuries, it was reinforced and attacked multiple times, and at its peak time showcased numerous forts across three fortified rings.
really cool and beautiful historic sight! i’m not big into walking but i really loved climbing and seeing everything. unfortunately the tours are closed unless you visit in the summer but i would absolutely come back to see inside. highly recommend and a must see even if you’re spending a short time in luxembourg! 🏰

It is a neat place to explore. If you have children, they will really enjoy the tunnels and it is pretty safe as well. The entrance says 45 minute time limit, but not sure how it is enforced. However, that much time is enough to see it all though.
You don’t really need to buy tickets in advance if you go midweek.

The Mother Nature give them advantages to have such a rocky place and situated exactly in the Center of the city. If you are a tourist and do not have a guide and plus you don’t speak French then it will be difficult to room around and find the spots you are looking for.
The city doesn’t offer free internet or there are some spots but very low signal so you have to have your own internet. There are less signs showing ways how to access the Touristik spots , so make sure to really pre plan all the steps of your trip on your own

Fun stop with lots of history! Sold out online for days, but tickets were available for an entrance in an hour. Busy, but they do a good job of keeping the casements not overly busy. Don't miss the side route near the exit that goes under the road. Spiral stairs carved into the rock to the left of the steps up to the exit. It is a lot of steps...you've been warned! Down and then back up.

Very lovely and impressive views of the valley from the walls at the top and from the lookout points throughout. There is fascinating and multi layered history in the landmark, having served as a fortress for hundreds of years

Very beautiful and unusual. Be sure to visit the casemates, but do not go down the spiral stone staircase if you have poor physical fitness 😁. When you joyfully reach its end deep below, you will understand that the way out goes along the same steep endless steps, only up 😄. It was a great adventure

Luxembourg's old quarters and fortifications. The city itself was founded in 963 and has played a significant role in European history throughout the centuries.
We came during winter so weren't able to visit the tunnels but we were able to walk around the top parts and get some amazing views of the city.

The place can be reached easily from Luxembourg station, it will drop you to the exact location, where you can easily roam around by foot & explore, click pictures etc. It has an ancient setup with information which you can read and understand. I believe you will need approx 2 to 3 hours to cover upstairs, downstairs and around if you want to cover completely and not rush but relax. When we went there the weather was a bit foggy and cold plus we had to catch our bus for Saarland within 2 hours so we rushed and did not cover full location. But I still enjoyed. Since it was November month, there were Christmas market also which all families were enjoying. Overall beautiful place with no public transport cost so worth visiting.

I want to say that I live for 3 years in Luxembourg and only by mistake I discovered that we can visit the galleries.❤️🥰👏 The entrance is actually hidden underneath the little tower from Montee du Clausen (Casemates Memorial Point).
The experience was quite unique. The galeries are layered (I think) on two levels. The views over the city are special and magnificent (although in my case it was raining 🌧), because the viewpoints are unique🏞🏤. I loved also the light 💡efects inside the casemates. They give a special (modern and old) touch to the visit. You can also see these light efects 🪩 from Grund during the night 🌌.
The only thing that confused me a little bit was the fact that there were no signs ↗️(or a map) 🗺 to show the direction ➡️ of the visit, so I got a little bit lost 😆😁. There were galleries that i've seen twice. I estimate that, the duration of the visit 🕑 can vary between 30-45 minutes.
For me, the casemates are special and unique. I would love to see them again without any hesitation. ❤️🥰🤩

Great historical place. It's a must visit in Luxembourg. It is a huge underground complex built in 1644 and was used as a bomb shelter during WWII. It's huge and amazing. Lots of beautiful viewpoints. You need a minimum of an hour to explore the place. There is one section that is not mentioned in the booklet, it can be accessed through the stairs from the iron gate room. This section was really impressive and showed the depth of it. Going through each section and understanding the history behind it was fascinating. I recommend buying tickets in advance. Tickets can be bought at the ticket counter as well but they either sell out soon or you have to wait for your time slot. Another thing is it's a bit difficult to locate the entrance/ticket counter. Do carry a water bottle.
The Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg is a beautiful Gothic cathedral that was built between 1613 and 1621. It features ornate columns and stained glass from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as Neo-Gothic confessionals. This cathedral is a must-see for visitors to Luxembourg City.
Very beautiful cathedral, we were there in Easter Sunday it was not crowded, unfortunately we didn’t manage to see any ceremony, but still very impressed by the art and sculptures and architecture. You can feel the positive energy and definitely the best place to pray, meditate and light a candle

The position on Google seems wrong as the Cathedral is right behind "Le Ministère de la digitalisation"
Follow the signage on the street instead of Google and you will find it.
Opening schedule seems also wrong on Google as it's open on Sunday (from 10am to 7pm if I am correct) while Google mentioned otherwise.
If you aim to visit the Crypt, please note that schedules are slightly different than the cathedral.
Aim for mid day and you should be fine

I cannot remember this church ever closing.
Well, maybe when someone important gets married, baptized, or dies. I make it a point to stop by to light a candle for loved ones when I’m in the city. It’s certainly a place to visit if you want to cool down from the heat and don’t want to sit at a cafe feeling more warm and several euros poorer. The cathedral is clean, quiet, free, and beautiful IMO even though I do not know a lot about architecture medieval, modern, or what have you.

The cathedral is big but not decorated as much as similar ones in other cities. The altar is simple and the glazed painted windows attracts your eye. You cannot tour yourself when worship takes place and even when it doesn't, you should be extra careful not to disturb prayers. Do not forget to check the crypt.
Vianden Castle is a hilltop fortress that was erected between the 11th and 14th centuries. It presently houses exhibits on medieval history. Its unique design is the result of extensive restoration efforts in the 20th century, following its complete destruction. Visitors can explore different historical periods, from Roman times to the present day, through walkways on lower levels. The open-air Byzantine Hall and Gothic polygonal chapel with a central well are notable features of this castle.
Nice place for a one day trip. You can easily get there by car and park for free in front of the castle or park in the town near the river and get there by the lift. It costs 7.50€ for both ways and 5 for a one way ticket. The castle is easily manageable for 1 hour and one can get an audio guide for a low price.

Petting the castle’s chickens absolutely made my day. The chickens are so calm and friendly. The castle is interesting and we were all done within 2 hours. The cafe has a selection of pastries, drinks, and soup. We had soup, ice cream and eclair. There is a free toilet at the entrance and a bigger free restroom upstairs in the castle. There was plenty of parking when we arrived at 10am on a Saturday. It filled up when we left around 12:30pm. It costs 1€/hour and you walk strenuously uphill about 5 minutes to get to the castle. Card is accepted at the kiosk farther back in the parking lot. Press the white button on the kiosk for how many hours you want (press multiple times for more hours), then press the green button, and then hold your card up to pay. It was tricky to use.

Vianden Castle is a medieval fortress located in Vianden, Luxembourg. The Castle is located at an elevated hill visible to the road. It stands majestically overlooking the picturesque town of Vianden and the Our River. Te castle offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The location is very easy to find, and so is parking and entrance. Inside you may buy tickets, and also seek assistant of a tour guide or audio tour subject to relevant charges. Inside of it are the models, plans and diagram of the Castle in different ages.
The castle has a rich history dating back over a thousand years and showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles. Visiting the castle in Vianden was an unforgettable experience for me. The castle is one of the most beautiful and largest monuments of Romanesque-Gothic architecture in Europe. It was built on the site of a former Roman watchtower, and for centuries was the seat of the Dukes of Vianden and the Nassau family. The castle has many interesting halls and rooms that can be explored on your own or with an audio guide. I admired, among others a Byzantine gallery, a banquet hall with tapestries, a bedroom and a banquet room with a fireplace. On the information boards you can learn many interesting facts about the history of the castle and its inhabitants. The castle was restored in the 1970s and is now open to the public.
Visiting the castle was not only a history lesson, but also an opportunity to admire the beautiful views of the town of Vianden and the Our River valley. From the castle terrace you can see picturesque landscapes, charming houses and the church of St. Trinity. You can also use the cable car that connects the castle with the city centre. It's a great way to see the area from a different perspective.
Vianden Castle is a place I recommend to anyone who likes history, architecture and beautiful nature. It's the perfect place to spend a few hours or the whole day. I am very pleased with my visit and will definitely return.

How amazing it is to be able to relive the history of this palace.
The castle is about 1 hour by car from Luxembourg city.
The tickets are 10 euros for adults and 2 euros for an audio guide. Since the guide ( handheld , not an earphone / headphone ) can be heard , 2-3 people can share 1.
There was no wait. The audio was very detailed and it was lovely to share the fragments of historical essence as we walked past each room. The large kitchen was my favorite as well as the banquet hall.
I was completely mesmerized by the sheer grandeur of the bedroom, banquet hall and the history behind the Vianden Castle.
We are so glad that we decided to make this decision to go and visit this. Absolutely a must visit 🙂

The castle is located approx 1 hour from the Luxembourg city. But worth the drive. You will encounter amazing scenes on the way. They have a parking available, but it is limited. You can get an audio guide for yourself in the language you prefer .castle is not very big in itself. But still it will take one hour for you to visit completely. They have a cafeteria in the beginning in case you are hungry. The staff is very helpful if you need anything. there are explanations everywhere so if you want, you don’t need to buy an audio guide

Wow, what a blast from the past! Our last visit here was way back in 2014, and it's crazy how my oldest son still remembers every detail from when he was just 3,5 years old. This castle is like the VIP spot for tourists in Luxembourg, and it's easy to see why.
The ticket prices won't break the bank either: €10 for adults, €2.5 for kids, and €5 for students with a valid student card.
They've got these handy information devices at the counter, and you can choose your language preference, so you won't miss a beat. We opted for the Scan Me app, scanning barcodes at each site for all the juicy details. Saved me from trying to recall everything back at the hotel. You know how it is with kids at museums, patience is definitely not their strong suit 😂.
Walking through history here is a real treat, especially witnessing the castle's evolution over the centuries, from the 11th to the 14th. No wonder it's earned its spot as one of CNN's 21 most beautiful castles in the world.
But let's talk about the real MVP: the cafeteria. Don't leave without trying their signature soup, Bouneschlupp. It's a hearty green bean soup with potatoes and onions (they even do a mean vegetarian version).
Don't miss out on the souvenir area either, because what's a trip without some cheesy memorabilia, am I right?
Pro tip: Take some time to wander the charming village of Vianden surrounding the castle, those picturesque houses are Instagram-worthy 😉.

Visiting from Florida and wasn’t disappointed by the castle. The views were amazing, the size was awesome and the interior was pretty cool to see. Worth the trip from Kaiserslautern. Parking can be difficult on the weekends.

It's one of the most beautiful castles i have ever visited. I recommend you pay 2 eur extra for the audio guide. it's worth it. There is also a nice souvenir shop/cafe inside.
Located in Bastogne, the Mardasson Memorial is a striking tribute to American soldiers who were injured or lost their lives during the Battle of the Bulge. Designed by architect Georges Dedoyard, this imposing structure takes the form of a 12-meter tall five-pointed American star with points extending 31 meters and a central atrium measuring 20 meters in diameter. The memorial offers fantastic panoramic views of the battle areas and features informative maps detailing the movements of German and Allied forces.
The Mardasson Memorial in Bastogne is a deeply moving tribute to the heroes of World War II. Standing atop a hill, the monument's grandeur and symbolism are awe-inspiring. The museum exhibits offer a comprehensive and emotional journey through the Battle of the Bulge. The memorial's serene surroundings and panoramic views make it a place for reflection and remembrance. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and anyone seeking to honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom.

Two years ago they were busy with the restoration, and now it's complete (although we couldn't discover where they restored it). Overall it is worth a visit when you are visiting the museum or if you are visiting Bastogne.
It is a large monument to commemorate the Second World War.

Really wanted to visit the memorial, but it appears it has been cordoned off so you have to use the car park at the museum that you have to pay on arrival.
Very short memories when you try to profit from people visiting a memorial, what next cemeteries.

Images from the Mardasson Memorial. Honoring the memory of American soldiers who were wounded or killed in the Battle of the Bulge. We should never forget. The museum was closed, but this monument brought tears to my sarcastic, cynical eyes. A great way to end our trip.

Impressive monument, with a breathtaking message. It also offers a full overview of Bastogne from the upper level, accessible by stairs.

Amazing place. But we didn't enjoyed it much because of rekonstrukcion.
The Bastogne War Museum is a contemporary museum that offers an interactive experience focused on WWII and specifically the Battle of the Bulge. The audio guide features four different voices from civilian and military witnesses/participants, while an informative summary presents the war's context and key stages. The museum also boasts a 15-minute 3D film that provides a unique perspective on Germany's early attacks.
A historic place that if you are in or near Bastogne you will want to take the time to visit. The museum is under a renovation period so checkout the website to ensure you will be able to visit the museum. You can reflect on those who gave all and honor their memory.

After encountering so many world war 2 monuments within Luxembourg I wanted to know more about what exactly happened here during world war 2. And this museum came highly recommended, it didn't disappoint not one bit. It left me cold with goose bumps about the stories that where told through an audio headpiece. And through the myriad of infographics pictures etc.

Visiting the Bastogne War Museum was an incredibly moving and enlightening experience that left an indelible mark on my understanding of World War II. From the moment I stepped into the museum, I was immersed in a meticulously curated journey through history.
The exhibits are a testament to the museum's dedication to accuracy and detail. The multimedia presentations and interactive displays provided a deep insight into the challenges faced during the Battle of the Bulge. The use of cutting-edge technology, combined with authentic artifacts, created a powerful and evocative narrative that transported me back to that pivotal moment in time.
The layout of the museum is both engaging and thoughtfully designed, guiding visitors through the various stages of the battle. The personal stories of soldiers and civilians, shared through letters, photographs, and firsthand accounts, added a human dimension to the historical events, making them resonate on a profoundly emotional level.
The Bastogne War Museum also pays tribute to the sacrifices made by those who fought and the civilians affected by the conflict. The museum staff demonstrated a genuine passion for their work, offering valuable insights and assistance throughout my visit. Their commitment to preserving and sharing this important history was evident in every aspect of the museum.
In conclusion, the Bastogne War Museum is not just a museum; it's a living testament to the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of those who lived through the Battle of the Bulge. It is a must-visit for anyone seeking a profound and educational experience that transcends the pages of history books.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful museums ever visited. Actually it's not only a museum, it's the history lived and described by four different people who lived those troubled times: a US soldier, a German officer, a young teacher from Bastogne and a child from Bastogne. A very, very touching experience, especially for someone who's grandfather fought in WWII. Many thanks to the organizers and management of the museum, this is truly an unique and brilliant way to show the history. You deserve 10 stars, not only 5, well done!!

Excellent museum, focusing on the battle of the Bulge. You get a headset at the reception that leads you through the museum and tells the story from four different perspectives. This includes eloborate moving dioramas and many artifacts and vehicles. Tour is available in English, German, French and Dutch and probably more languages. Staff is helpful, and the cafetaria and book shop are nice.

Excellent museum, one of the best I've ever been too. Everything is explained in multiple languages (English, French, German and Dutch). The exhibit covers pre-WW2, WW2, and post WW2. It's very moving at times. My whole family enjoyed it, even the teenagers! If you are in the area, you must visit!

Emma is very friendly. My audio didn't work and she back and forwards 3x for me. And she explain teh details about the coding machine and gave us suggestions not to miss the AR experience at outside. Need to drive 10 minutes to the real location partial of the defense line.
It was very interesting museum and we love the short movie and exhibits.

We've been to various museums, but this one in Bastogne beats them all. Museum from the top, interactive, makes you feel the atmosphere of those days! I recommend it to everyone, even those who are not interested in history too much. A great piece of history! I recommend!

A very unique take on the museum experience, it's more like a story to walk though with multiple short movies to watch between the larger halls and spoken explanation by the characters from the story telling there views and experiences about the battle.

If you like Band of Brothers, then this is a must. So much history and so many things that make you just realize the resiliency of the allies and of the American soldiers. The spaghetti carbonera at the restaurant was excellent. The rest of the food we ate was meh. But that spaghetti carbonera...

I spent about 2 hours here. It was a very enlightening and many storys that where personal and there telling extended long into the tour.
One thing I particularly enjoyed, was that I could go in my own pace and even go back to a exhibitions, if I felt like it.
I would recommend anyone to go that is into history.

We visited this place on Sunday. The museum is very interesting and engaging. Do not miss out three separate immersive mini-cinema like shows that reflected different periods of the war. And after the main visit, “Generations 45” was a very nice addition to connect the war to our modern day periods. Museum is able to capture both the facts and details of the war in massive scale and how this war affected the lives of simple, ordinary people.

A must-see for the American history buff. The museum is larger than it seems. You can rush through it in a couple hours, but could easily spend 3-4. There is an elevator to make things accessible.

Well done museum. Lots of photos to read about but the audio tour explains the war from the perspective of 4 people: child, school teacher, US soldier and a German soldier. Brings it to life. Also visited the Fox hole area, download the app noted on a sign in the parking lot before walking into the trees. Free WiFi in the lot. Worth being where the fighting took place.

The Bastogne War Museum is an extraordinary testament to the valor, sacrifice, and resilience of the soldiers and civilians who endured the hardships of World War II. Visiting this museum was an emotionally moving and educational experience.
The museum's design and layout are impeccable, guiding visitors through the chronology of events leading up to the historic Battle of the Bulge. The interactive exhibits, life-sized dioramas, and audio-visual presentations offered a truly immersive experience, making the past come alive. From the onset, I felt a deep sense of respect and admiration for the brave souls who faced unimaginable challenges during the war.
The vast collection of artifacts, personal belongings, and authentic military equipment further enriched the experience. Each item told a unique story, giving a glimpse into the lives of those who fought and the civilians affected by the conflict. I was particularly moved by the personal accounts and letters displayed, which revealed the human side of war.
The highlight of my visit was the recreated underground bunker, where I could almost feel the tension and fear that soldiers experienced during the battle. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the importance of remembering history and its lessons for the future.
The museum staff deserves special praise for their knowledge and dedication. They were friendly, approachable, and eager to answer questions, making the tour even more engaging.
The Bastogne War Museum not only commemorates the sacrifices made during the war but also emphasizes the importance of peace and understanding. As I walked through the grounds, I couldn't help but reflect on the futility of war and the need for global unity.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, a student, or just curious about the past, the Bastogne War Museum is a must-visit destination. It leaves an indelible mark on your heart and mind, and you'll walk away with a renewed appreciation for the peace we enjoy today.
If you find yourself in this part of the world, don't miss the opportunity to pay homage to the heroes of the past and gain a deeper understanding of the events that shaped our world. I will forever cherish the memories and lessons I took away from this extraordinary museum.
