Beautiful but crowded beach. One can enjoy the beauty on weekdays. Weekend rush will kill the joy.
There is a point which has marine drive like stones, try to find that place and thanks me later.

We visited during the monsoon season so it was not crowded, the beach is clean. We can stay and enjoy two days, Janjira fort is 16km from Kashid Beach,so you can visit fort and come back to stay here to enjoy early morning beach.

Clean and clear beach. Here you get to do a lot of water sports at nominal rate. Sunsets are the best part.

The beach is small although serene. However, is made congested by horses and their owners for giving tourists a ride. We also happened to see an accident when the horse literally galloped between the tourists taking pictures and hurting them.

Beautiful but risky beach..
Clean white sand beach..
Ample amount of water sport activities available..
Beware of the sea waves and steep down beach..

Little better than Alibaug beach. You can do water sports at a very nominal rates. In the morning time when it's low tide, water level goes down drastically and you can walk almost a km inside the ocean.
There are changing and bathrooms room available at nominal rates.
Good for people who like sea food and beaches.

Kashid Beach, a coastal haven that I explored just last week, left an indelible imprint on my senses. The pristine stretch of white sand, complemented by the azure waters of the Arabian Sea, creates a breathtaking panorama. Nestled between verdant hills and swaying casuarina groves, Kashid is a visual symphony of nature.
What struck me most about Kashid Beach was its serene and tranquil atmosphere. Unlike some bustling beaches, Kashid offered a peaceful retreat, making it an ideal spot for those seeking solace by the sea. The cleanliness of the surroundings was noteworthy, contributing to the overall appeal of the destination.
The soft waves lapping against the shore invited me to dip my toes into the refreshing water. For adventure enthusiasts, Kashid doesn't disappoint. Water sports activities, including jet skiing and banana boat rides, provided an exhilarating experience against the backdrop of the expansive sea.
Beyond the natural beauty, the local vendors and eateries along the beach added a delightful touch to my visit. Sampling local snacks and coconut water while basking in the sun enhanced the overall beach experience.
In summary, Kashid Beach is a hidden gem on the Konkan coast. Whether you're seeking tranquility, adventure, or a scenic escape, Kashid offers a perfect blend. My recent visit was a serene retreat, and I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone in search of a coastal paradise.

Kashid beach is one of the best beaches to visit in Raigad District of Maharashtra state. This beach is clean and not very busy so you can have your peace of mind. You can find the beach distributed in water sports and quiet areas.
Sunset and sunrise are always the best views for any beach, which applies for Kashid beach too. The advantage is you can rest near kashid and have easy access to the Murud, Nagaon and Alibaug area.
Stay options are cheap to start from 1000 to 3000 per night. Food is also budget friendly.
I liked the area.
Don't expect much of night life which you can find in Alibaug and Nagaon.
The Kondhane Buddhist Caves are an archaeological site with a network of caves that provide a picturesque setting for hiking. The caves contain remnants of Buddhist culture and several waterfalls add to the natural beauty of the area. These ruins offer visitors an opportunity to explore ancient history while enjoying scenic surroundings.
Is it top on the mountain and had to do tracking for about 45-1 hour.
But it is worth tracking.
Buddist cave is there and in rainy season it is very beautiful.
Sole shops are there for food and stuff but I would suggest to carry your own.
It is risky too when tracking because it is in the forest.
Must visit.

Best place near Karjat for peaceful relaxation. Its not difficult trek. Simple trek and a place is super peaceful and loving. For reaching here you need your own vehicle. Base parking is available which is free. From karjat you can hire cab or rickshaw. In mansoon it's having different impact and more crowded but other than mansoon it's very quite place for visit. Caves are beautiful and in very much good condition to see. Stupa is damaged but overall good vibes from this place.
GANESH JADHAV — Google review
Short 30 minute trek takes you to this Kondana Bhuddist caves. Cut out of a mountain, they are a fine work of art. With the additional attraction of waterfalls during and just post monsoon, this trek is really worth it.
Yogesh Chavan — Google review
The place is a Buddhist cave where you can actually find the ancient buddhist monks' living style and some bed like structures and also some sitting arrangements curated through a giant hill. You can also get a glimpse of a Buddhist idol which may be destroyed or not completed properly.
You have to go through around 30-40 mins of tracking through some not so good stone roads and small markings are also there to indicate the way towards the cave.
To my opinion try to visit during rainy season to get a more spectacular view and also in the way of hiking you will also found a river and also a small waterfall in the monsoon season but be aware of the slippery road and take necessary precautions.
I will highly suggest to visit this not so big or maintained but a beautiful cave to enjoy the ancient beauty of this spectacular cave.

Kondane Caves, nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Sahyadri hills in Maharashtra, are a hidden gem that offers a glimpse into the region's rich Buddhist heritage. Dating back to the 1st century BCE, these ancient rock-cut caves served as a retreat for Buddhist monks and are renowned for their intricate architecture and stunning carvings.
To reach Kondane Caves, trekkers can take bus/auto from Karjat railway station or bus stand till the base village and then half hour climb till the caves.
Upon reaching the caves, visitors are greeted with a series of rock-cut chambers, prayer halls, and stupas, each adorned with exquisite sculptures and inscriptions. The caves offer a serene ambiance, ideal for meditation and contemplation, making them a popular destination for spiritual seekers and history enthusiasts alike.
The best time to visit Kondane Caves is during the post-monsoon season, from September to December, when the weather is pleasant, and the surrounding landscape is lush green. Trekkers should avoid visiting during the monsoon season when the trails become slippery and challenging to navigate.
Exploring Kondane Caves provides a fascinating insight into Maharashtra's ancient Buddhist heritage and offers a tranquil retreat amidst the natural beauty of the Sahyadri hills. Whether you're interested in history, spirituality, or simply seeking solace in nature, Kondane Caves is a destination not to be missed.

If you're looking for an adventure and happen to be in the area, I would definitely recommend Kondane Caves. However, I would caution that it may not be suitable for all age groups. Be sure to take the necessary precautions and make sure everyone in your group is comfortable with the trek before you set out.
Overall, this trek was filled with beautiful sights, new memories, and meaningful connections with my loved ones.

People often say that the journey is more important than the destination.. this is such place. The caves itself are not in great condition but the trek to the caves is amazing. This trek should be done in monsoon only - it's easy level - where you can see greenary and waterfalls. There are about 4 waterfalls/streams during the trek. Also, there is beautiful waterfall from the top of the caves, the way water flows on the steps...looks amazing. So definitely a must visit... But from trek perspective ✌️
Omkar Nagare — Google review
Best trek for beginners. I would suggest you to visit in monsoon season as the greenery and waterfalls make it and absolute wonder. Be sure to carry drinking water and food as there are no stalls once u reach the top. Amazing experience, go for it 😃

1st Century Buddhist Caves ! Imagine caves that were excavated more than 2000 years ago. The trek to these caves is filled with beautiful shades green in the monsoon season. On your way you’ll even have to walk through small streams of water. Once you reach to the caves, one can see water-fall from the top of the hill, that may not be the case in other seasons. The architecture and the engineering is so astonishing, considering these were excavated and carved 2000 years back.
It is said the caves have been restored a bit. Since it was ruined by an earthquake in the 1900’s.
A beautiful short trek for a magnificent natural and architectural view. Go for it !
Puneet Sharma — Google review
Amazing. I had visited this place in 2008 and revisited after 15 years but not much has changed.
The trek is safe and easy for all age groups, there are a few places where you need to be more cautious, but it's easier compared to a lot of other treks. We had people from all age groups around us from age 6 to age 60 , and they were able to climb up easily.
The climb down is the riskier part. You need to be more cautious and take your time to climb down since some steps are too steep for kids or aged people
People in India still need to learn cleanliness and there is a lot of work to do here
The good part is, you have some good view points or streams or flats every 15 minutes of the climb, so you can take a break and catch up as you want
It's well covered with greens and doesn't have any direct sunlight. But it's still recommended to start early around 9/9:30 am, after 11am a lot of people start coming in
We had nearly 200+ people around us but I think you won't feel it too crowded at any point in time
The waterfall and streams are perfect and easy to climb. The caves are in ruins and restoration process is going on. Hopefully in the next 4-5 years this place can become a nice heritage site
There are many options for stay in the close by from a 500₹ per night to 10,000₹ . I would strongly recommend staying in Radisson Blu which is only a 10 minute drive
Roads are good except the last 300 meter approach road , but I assume even that will be fixed in a year or two. Most of the road from karjat station to the caves is alongside the ullas river and the whole drive is easy and scenic. You may have a couple of access points to ullas river but better avoid since the water is red or dirty and has a strong current
There are enough food options, tea, coffee, corn, maggi, water, coconut and a few packed dry snacks. So don't carry anything with you except first aid kit, umbrella and a water bottle
Not many insects or mosquitoes. Did not see any snakes or wild life on the climb
There were two guards posted by the government and they were doing a good job
The water is not too cold and you can have an easy access right below the waterfall when you are at the top of the hill and in the caves. Its safe and even a kid can enjoy the falls

It's around half an hour Trek from the parking place to get the Caves.
Small waterfalls on the way and near the caves.
It's a thrilling experience overall.

Me and my group of 18 friends visited this place last weekend.... one's you arrived at karjat station you will get share taxis from where you can reach to the base village....the base village is almost 12 km away from the station and will cost you around 85 to 100 rupees per person with the capacity of 7 people/taxi... from there you can hike a simple trek to Kondhane Caves..the views and water trails along the treks are simply breathtaking....you will witness multiple waterfalls along the trek and the best part is you can come here with your family and children's as it is an beginner friendly trek which is super easy....there are snack counters also available where you can have your tea/coffee, Maggie, bhutta(roasted corn), chips,etc..... Kondhane Caves are not something extraordinary but yet these caves are part of our history so we should respect that!
Hope you will have great time here with your family and friends and please don't litter this absolute beauty🙏🏻

The Kune Falls manor house overlooks the falls from a elevated perch and is one of the most secluded places you can visit in Lonavala. The views from here are spectacular, with water cascading down over tiers of rocks into a small lake below. It's definitely worth a trip to explore this beautiful spot, especially during the rainy season when the water pressure increases and makes for an even more amazing experience.

Murud-Janjira Fort is a stunning marine fortress dating back to the 15th century, boasting old canons and 19 bastions. Situated on an island 500m offshore, it is the most magnificent of the forts along the Konkan coastline. Built by the Siddis in 1571, descendants of slaves from Africa, this imposing citadel served as the capital of a princely state. Visitors are drawn to its magnificent architecture and rich history of battles fought here.
Amazing fort, but you need 4 to 5 hours to visit all points. We need to go there by boat. The Boat tickets available till 4.30 PM. The Boat Ticket price ₹ 80 to ₹ 100.
Entry fee at in the fort : ₹ 25
But it's no well maintain, Government would have maintained it.

It was one of the worst experience to visit the Ajinkya or to be said in conquered fort Murud Janjira. The ASI have failed miserably to maintain this masterpiece of architecture and Portugal legacy. They charge you for everything, entry, ferry etc but basic services itself are missing, also no proper care is taken and not informed to passengers while boarding ferry that they will be left on the fort for walking on the sea. Poorly used, not marinated at at all. Do not even think of bringing elderly people along. No system at all. A great historical monument near Mumbai and alibaug is jus wasted by localities and ASI
Dhruvin Bhanushali — Google review
Murud-Janjira is the local name of a famous fort and tourist spot situated on an island just off the coastal town of Murud, in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India.
The word Janjira is a corruption of the word "jazira", which means "island" in the Arabic language. Murud was once known in Marathi as Habsan ("of the Habshi", that is, the Abyssinians). The name of the fort is a concatenation of the Konkani and Marathi words, "murud" and "Janjiri". The word "morod" is peculiar to Konkani and is absent in Marathi.
Specialty of the Janjira fort:
1. This fort has only one gate to enter inside and which is facing towards Rajapuri on the shore and can be seen only when is about 40 feet away from it. There is other doorway to the west called the Darya Darwaza, which opens into the sea and was probably used as an emergency escape door during those days.
2. The main attractions of the fort are the three colossal canons called Kalal Bangadi, Chavri and Landa Kasam. Once upon a time it stood farm and robust in defense with 572 Canons, but now only 3 canons can we witnessed. These Canons have capacity of 12 km range into the sea.
3. This for is known to stay unconquered in any fight until it was handed over to the Indian region after autonomy from the Britisher's. This fort was attached by Dutch, Portuguese, British and Maratha's, yet remained unconquered.
Things to do
1. There are many things that one can see on this fort. The remains of the Royal Palace of Siddi Surulkhan includes a five-storey building, Three giant cannons (Kalal Bangdi, Chiavari and Landa Kasam), and more than 35 other cannons.
2. An Arabic inscription on a marble plaque reads yohar' which means '1111 H. (A.D. 1694), two freshwater storage tanks, Chor Darwaza, etc. The Padmadurg fort near Janjira was built by Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Tourists can take a special ferry ride to this fort.
Visiting Rule and Time, Best month to visit
• The best months to visit this sea fort are from October to March as the climate remains comfortable for sightseeing. This fort is closed during monsoon rains due to safety reasons.
The fort is open from 7:00 A.M. to 6:30 P.M.
•In order to reach this fort, one has to take a ferry ride from Murud coast to the fort. The ferry ride tickets vary from 50 to 300 INR depending on the size of the boat, while entry to the fort is free.
To see the entire fort you will need approximately 1-2 hours.
Ankit Prasad — Google review
Breathtaking fort in the middle of the sea.
You can visit the fort by taking a ferry that will cost Rs. 80 for a return ticket but it is also customary to tip the boat navigators in addition to the Rs. 80 paid for the ticket . Also you have to pay for an entry ticket for the fort of Rs. 25.
It is a good fort to visit the only issue is that the boat operators don't allow you to visit the fort for more than 40 mins as you have to return in the same boat and it leaves in 40 mins. 40 mins is too less time to fully explore this fort.
Yashvardhan Shetty — Google review
The fort is now under Central government control . no maintenance on the fort. There is no Direction board as well plus there is no guide .
Still I must tell you that this fort is really worth .The structure is elegant and surprises you As they have many place who is still look like as they have built recently.
Plus for notes You will have to pay 100 rs on main counter for return boat. Then from one boat to another they will ask u to shift another boat and on same boat one person will give u some little information about fort and then ask for money to pay something 100 or 200 by saying that there is no guide on this fort and its their only way to earn money . After this once u get down from the boat then again u have to Pay rs 25 for entry and with in 30 min u will have to return to the same boat .
Sonal Angre — Google review
Honestly, I did not visit this fort from inside because it didn't seem much of interesting.
Also, they charge a lot Rs 40 for to and fro journey to fort. Rs 25 to visit fort from inside.
Also, Rs 400 when you enter their premises.
Plan accordingly, if you are really find of historical places you can give it a try.

What a beautiful fort in middle of the sea, as we know the history of this fort, it’s worth visiting this place! I will highly recommend you to go here! If you are going in afternoon make sure you have caps and 2/3 bottle of water as it is exhausting to keep walking under the sun without any shades. We were able to see some dolphins from the top a beautiful moment to watch over the sea!

A marvel indeed in todays time. The entire experience is worth having at least once in a lifetime. Right from switching from a ferry to an oar boat with 60+ people on it flaunting every safety aspect, to jumping from a rocking oar boat into the fort and hoping you don’t slip or fall into the sea. The insides of the fort is well maintained and it’s amazing to see fresh water ponds inside the fort which is located right in the middle of a salt water sea. Overall an experience that will definitely get your adrenaline rushing.

View is awsome.. Ride the sail boat if u want to see the fort from inside, even the view from the top point of fort is superb

It's a historical place of 900+ years old. You should pay around rs.200 per person as different charges including parking. A sailing boat ⛵️ will bring you to the island and they let only ½ hour to see the Fort. The boat will wait for ½ hour only. It's hard to see the Fort completely in half of an hour. Keep some water and snacks if u need. Nothing is available at the island but u can buy things at the port.
The Fort is very big and awesome 👌 worth seeing.

The Murud-Janjira Fort stands proudly on an island off the Arabian Sea's western coast in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. This historical marvel is renowned for its robust structure, intriguing history, and breathtaking location. Built during the 15th century, the fort has withstood numerous invasions and attacks over the centuries, making it one of the most impenetrable forts in India.
What sets Murud-Janjira apart is its unique architecture, constructed entirely without using any mortar or cement. The formidable walls, adorned with 19 rounded bastions, create an imposing sight against the azure sea backdrop. The primary purpose of the fort was to safeguard the Janjira Sultanate from pirates and rival powers during its heyday.
Stepping inside the fort, visitors can explore its various sections, including the main palace, mosque, and freshwater tanks. The majestic view from the fort's highest point offers a panoramic vista of the Arabian Sea and the picturesque coastal landscape.
Murud-Janjira is not only a symbol of architectural brilliance but also holds significant historical value. It remained unconquered by various forces, including the Marathas, British, and Portuguese. Today, it stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and resilience of the region.
A visit to the Murud-Janjira Fort is a captivating journey back in time, where history and nature converge, leaving visitors awe-inspired and enchanted by its timeless beauty and storied past.

The Fort is a beautiful place to visit, but there are a few things to keep in mind before planning your trip. Firstly, it's best to avoid visiting on weekends and holidays to avoid long queues for ferry tickets. The boat ride to the fort takes around 15-20 minutes, and once you reach the fort, you'll see a huge queue of boats, where you'll need to wait your turn to disembark. However, getting off the boat can be tricky, especially for senior citizens and kids. Additionally, visitors need to purchase entry tickets upon arrival. One should be aware that the boat that takes you to the fort is the same one that brings you back, so the time available to explore is limited. We took the Pushpvati boat and barely had 20 minutes to roam around, which felt too short.
It's worth noting that the fort boasts two large ponds and impressive canons, making for a beautiful sightseeing experience. Despite the potential wait times, seeing these features alone is worth the trip.

This fort is magnificent, built on the middle of the sea hundreds of years ago still holding good till this date. The architecture of this fort is truly fantastic and flabbergasting. Only con I see is that this place is very crowded and over commercialized which ruins the fun.

Murud Janjira Fort is a coastal marvel. This historic fort, situated on an island near Murud, Maharashtra, boasts impressive architecture and a rich past. Accessible by boat, it offers a glimpse into the region's maritime history. The fort, unconquered in its time, tells tales of resilience. The scenic boat ride and panoramic views make it a must-visit for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

The fort is in ok condition but the entry at the fort needs to be developed. The way we get down from the boat at the entry is pathetic. There is no proper provision to get down from the boat that you have to jump while getting down. Authority should look into it as it's difficult for old age people to travel over the fort.

Adventurous and Unique experience. The fort is in very bad condition but the fact that the whole village once upon a time used to be there is surprising. The idea ,the execution of such an island Fort is worth watching.

The fort is now under Central government control . There is absolutely no maintenance, forget restoration. There are no boards for directions for fort visit nor are there any guides. There are no information boards near any of the structures so you are just left guessing about everything.
Oh yes, one thing the government has implemented really well is the entrance fee.
However, I must tell you that this fort is really worth the visit. It's absolutely majestic. The structure is elegant and surprises you.
Expect very little from the management and your visit will be more containing...

The place is good but Right from the beginning we paid 4 to 5 types of charges. Like, entry charges, parking charges, boat ticket, fort ticket, guide ticket and etc. You can bargain for Guide charges. Most important thing after dropping to the fort by boat you'll get 45 min. Only to take tour of the fort. .
Aakash Lakhamapure — Google review
Best fort situated just 50-60 km away from alibag. There is a boat available for going to the fort, you have to pay 100 RS per person for that boat and 25 rs for fort ticket. The boat rise is just of 10 min.
Saurabh Sangale — Google review
My second visit here and this place has it all to drag you to visit again. The fort is immaculate and has a rich history to it! This fort is one of the only two unconquered forts. It is situated in between the sea and one had to take the boat to visit here. Boat charges 80 Rs per head and for charges 25 rupees per head. It takes time to reach and then 45mins to explore the fort. Easily takes around 3hrs for the entire trip, so budget your time accordingly. Water and food isnt available in the fort, so it is advisable to carry water and light snacks. One must ensure to not litter in the fort as it represents our rich cultural heritage.
Gaurab Sarkar — Google review
Wait time for the ferry from Dighi Jetty could be higher on the weekdays. Weekends with more traffic will have more boats available as well.
Historical fort, great views. Very little shade.
Carry water and refreshments if you need anything since nothing is sold at the fort. Keep the place clean, carry your trash back with you, it's cleanliness is our collective responsibility.
Bhushi Dam, located about 4 km from Hill Forest Resort and on the way to Lions Point, is a popular attraction in Lonavala. During heavy rains, the dam overflows and water flows from steps, creating a picturesque scene. Visitors can sit with their feet dipped in the water and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. The area boasts mountains, waterfalls, forests, and skies that attract nature lovers.
Bhushi Lake nowadays is full. The lake will be very good for boat riding this winters, The rain helped Bhushi lake a lot.
Bhushi Lake is very beautiful, filled with good nature view and lush green trees.
Do visit !!

We visited the dam on a weekday morning and had a fantastic time. You actually have to walk through 1-2 feet of water at places before you finally reach the dam. Weekends are crowded and traffic is brutal to get in and out. It was raining so it was a lot of fun. Sitting on the steps with strong water flowing around you was a great experience. Having hot tea and snacks there was nice.
Tips:
1. Do not go on Saturday or Sunday as it is really crowded and crazy traffic.
2. This is awesome during monsoons.

A fantastic place to go on weekdays. The weekend is so crowded that there will be no space to enjoy.

A must visit place in lonavala during mansoon season.
It is located 6km from lonavala, near the Lonavala- Amby Valley City Road.
U can reach here from lonavla by taxi, auto or your own Bike or car (private parking spaces are available, but price thoda jatha hei)
Since it is a reservoir it will only open during mansoon season (June-aug).
Something may close if there is heavy flow.

Cloak room not available
Must try : corn pakoda, Masala tea, Maggie,
Stay : Rooms available

When you come to lonavala this is one of the places that you shouldn't miss. I won't say that it's a very good place for clicking photos as normally it is very crowded . People come here in great numbers and at peak times it almost becomes a rally where you don't have much space.

Great place to visit during weekends for relaxing near the dam. the maintenance of this place is not being done properly is the reason you can see lots of garbage when you walk towards the dam. Best time is mansoon. We visited during winter... Water level is medium. Avoid visit during summer.

Loved it.
Don't expect to see some big dam. It's kind of a small waterfall more than a dam. A little walk and u will reach the main point and u can simply have fun.
Better go with waterproof shoes and sandals or just flipflops. U will have to walk through little water, so not to bring ur expensive sneakers with you.

Amazing place to visit in monsoon
Located around 7 km from lonavala on highway towards ambey Valley
You can go there by taxi or auto
Vehicles has to be parked in parking and then it's a walk of 10 minutes. Walk way towards dam is having puddles, mud and wobly road but once you reach there experience is awesome.
Wear dry fit shorts and t shirts, carry raincoat or umbrella. Most importantly carry rain friendly foot wear. Rain protective Mobile cover is must. There are places for changing rooms and storage(chargeable)
Once u reach Dam the experience of water flowing with force on steps is breathtaking to see and amazing to experience.
Sip a cup of coffee on steps. Do enjoy bhutta, Maggie or pakoras there.. stay time usually is around 1 hour.
Not to miss especially in monsoon

It’s a good place to visit with friends and family during the rainy season but, there’s a lot of crowd and traffic on weekends you would rather prefer going on a weekday where there’s almost no one and like your private dam. Secondly, during off season, it’s very peaceful.

Bhushi dam is one of the popular tourist spot . There are steps on dam wall wherein water overflows during monsoons . There are ample paid parking lots nearby. There are food stalls offering corn , bhajji , tea , etc on the walkway to bhushi dam. The walkway is submerged in knee deep waters during peak monsoon making it difficult for elders to walk through . You will get slippers on rent in stalls. Also paid washrooms and changing rooms .

People would definitely fall in love with this place, there is no entrance fee here, but there is a parking fee.
Always carry a extra pair of clothes and as well as a good rain coat while visiting this place, as it will be most likely to rain always and you will obviously get wet after getting into the water.
Put on some good shoes which doesn't absorb much water or else you will end up with wet foot all over the day.
I would recommend to carry a pair of sandals and as well as a pair of socks, to change as per the need.
The overall experience would be awesome, don't miss it!!!

One of the most popular tourist spots. The best time to visit is during the monsoon season, though it can get crowded during peak season. In the off season, the area is generally dry and stony, although there is still plenty of water in the dam. It has a nice site, but not as much as the monsoons.

It is really a very beautiful place, in the rainy season it gets even more beautiful view. Everyone should go here once.
The view from the lions point is awesome. There is a camel ride available for kids.
During monsoon you just get to see and experience the clouds and you will not be able to see anything from top. Those views are good for winter season only. During some it's too hot to go there.
They charge 50 rs for 4Wheeler parking but the no maintenance... It becomes difficult to drive on uneven surface as many rocks are there.
Place remains too crowded during monsoon.
Both points are very close tiger point and lions point and you don't need to park your vehicle separately.

I recently visited lions point and the experience was worth sharing. What made my visit to Lion's Point even more remarkable was the presence of curious monkeys. These playful creatures added an element of charm and liveliness to the experience. Observing them interact with each other and their surroundings was a delightful and heartwarming sight. Just a friendly reminder, though: while they can be entertaining, it's important to be respectful of their space and not feed them. Timing is everything at Lion's Point. Whether you're an early riser chasing the golden hues of sunrise or a twilight enthusiast savoring the warm embrace of sunset, this viewpoint caters to all. I was fortunate to witness the sun's gentle embrace as it bathed the landscape in a warm, ethereal glow, creating an ambiance that felt almost surreal.

I'll let you know a few things before visiting Diveagar
. You can't take your vehicle on the beach⛱️
. Plenty of accommodation options but I would suggest select the place including food
.The beach is so beautiful and long in length
. Avoid afternoon sun rays which causes illness
. From Pune to till Beach route is good but take care of your vehicle in the ghat section
. Do regular check up of your vehicle before leaving because many vehicles get down in ghat and no service will be available even you don't have network
. The road is single so drive safe with safe speed
. 8 to 9 Water rides options but do water rides if you are fit because due to large waves possibility that you fall in water between the rides
. Good time to hang out in the morning till 9 and in evening after 5

Beautiful. Vast. Peaceful. Sunset viewing place.
Beautiful Star gazing at night.
You can do lot of fun activities also.
Water sports activities at a cheap price if you're going in a big group. Otherwise the prices are way cheap than GOA's and also with same beach experience and Scenic beauty.
That Disc water activity is an Amazing experience.
You can ride Jet Ski at 200-500 INR depending on your group size (जितनी ज्यादा जनता होगी उतना ही Discount करवा सकते हो।).

Absolutely loved this place. We drove from Pune and back the same day. The beach is clean with clear water. There are no shacks which is only the minus point. There are a plethora of water sports available along with camel and buggy rides. The water is shallow so it becomes safe for kids as well. A perfect weekend getaway.

One of the cleanest beaches with limited water sports options. Resorts are costlier on weekends.

> I really had no clue that Pawna would be so nice to have a look at.
> This was my first time visiting Pawna and I am stunned at how clear and blue the water is. 😍
> We saw it while our way to and fro to our campsite and the water looks more like the water in Malvan (I said what I said) 🤭
> We weren't allowed to swim and all in the water, which I understand but there was a floating thing kept on which we could walk and get close to the water.
> I couldn't take much pictures it but this is what I have at the moment.

Enchanting I would say. A lazy location with a spectacular tranquil lake with crystal clear water surrounded by nature's abundant beauty. Very scenic ghat road leading to the lake from lonavala. Ideal place for a short ride or drive from Mumbai or Pune. I had always heard a lot of good things about Pawna Lake and the main attraction it's famous for is camping. A few of my friends have gone camping during Rainy and Winters as it’s the best time and you to explore the beauty of the Lake. There were several camping sites, but it's best to book it online and make a reservation beforehand to avoid booking issues.
I would plan a trip with my friends for camping and I am sure it will be great.

My visit to Pawna Lake near Lonavala, Maharashtra, was truly captivating. Surrounded by the majestic Sahyadri mountain ranges, the lake offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The picturesque views were nothing short of breathtaking, making it an ideal destination for anyone seeking tranquility. However, it's worth noting that the lake has gained popularity over the years, leading to a noticeable influx of tourists during peak seasons. Despite the crowds, the natural beauty of Pawna Lake remained undeniably mesmerizing, leaving a lasting impression on me as a nature enthusiast.
Roads could have been better
Cafes are much expensive.
Overall My experience at Pawna Lake was nothing short of exceptional, primarily due to its pristine waters that exuded purity. Unlike many other lakes that often show signs of pollution or debris, Pawna stood out with its crystal-clear waters that reflected the surrounding natural beauty flawlessly. This purity not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also emitted a positive vibe and feeling. There's an innate sense of calmness and rejuvenation that one feels when surrounded by such untouched beauty. The absence of dirt or pollutants heightened the overall experience, allowing visitors like me to immerse ourselves fully in the serenity of the surroundings.

The Raigad Fort is a hilltop plateau complex that houses ruins of towers, temples, and reservoirs. It served as the capital of the Maratha Empire and was termed the Gibraltar of the East by the British due to its strategic location and stunning views. Adventure enthusiasts and trekkers can put their skills to test exploring this captivating fort.

Majestic Historical Marvel.
Nestled atop the Sahyadri mountain range, Raigad Fort stands as a testament to Maharashtra's rich history and architectural prowess. Ascending the fort through the picturesque route, one can't help but marvel at the ingenuity of its design and the strategic advantage it provided to the Maratha Empire.
The panoramic views from the fort are simply breathtaking, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of nature and the resilience of human endeavor. The trek to the top might be challenging for some, but the rewards are beyond measure.
Exploring the fort's various structures, including the majestic Raj Bhavan, the grand market area, and the awe-inspiring Maha Darwaja, one can't help but be transported back in time to an era of valor and honor.
However, it's not just the history that captivates visitors; it's the sense of reverence and awe that permeates every corner of Raigad Fort. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking solace away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Raigad Fort offers something for everyone.
I highly recommend visiting this historical gem, not just for its architectural splendor, but also for the profound sense of connection it instills with our past. Truly a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the treasures of Maharashtra.

Raigad fort is a highly important fort of Maharashtra. The place is well situated geographically and the overall structure is really well built. Unfortunately it wasn't preserved well, but the government is now taking steps towards betterment. The fort is hugely spread and every direction holds a history of its own. You will get guides over there who take a considerable price for a fort tour. The villagers provide meals barely at 80 rs cost. You can also use the ropeway, but you might need to wait for hours on weekends. Even the trek is easy as the steps and path are well built. It takes around 2 hours from the base point to reach the top.

If you are visiting Raigad, best time is in winter and for best scenery you can visit in Monsoon but only my ropeway. There are to routes to reach at the fort . One is by climbing stairs. Trek is moderate level and takes 2 hr max one way considering all the brakes in between. Another way is ropeway which starts from backend of raigad. Fort was built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and named as capital of swarjya. To know more about the history do take a guide there. Keep the fort clean . Before visiting do read some articles related to fort to get feel of knowing something while watching fort and get lost into the history. This fort will show how brave where the marathas and their warriors. Jay bhawani jay Shivaji 🚩🚩

Beautiful fort with rich heritage. I always wanted to visit Raigad so we didi a trek on one of my friends birthday.
Currently lot of maintenance and restoration work is going on hence you might not be able to visit all the attractions. But I'd suggest to go and visit the fort if possible try to help workers a little bit as it would be the biggest historical moment for all of us.
We used the stairs roughly around 2800 plus stairs. But people can also choose rope way option as well.
I don't need to explain why this fort is so amazing and very close to the heart of all maharashtrian people.
Go visit and experience the stories of our legendary king. How he built this fort why it was important for maratha kingdom. Hear the stories for local guids they will literally take you back to that era.

You can perform water activities here like para sailing, banana ride, sofa ride. We went to this place at evening to watch sunset and it was awesome view. You can have variety of snacks at this beach. We eated kokan special ukdiche Modak and ghawan chatney at nearby stall. One thing I observed here is local people are very polite and friendly.

One of the most popular beaches of this location. Also popular for the water sports and horse rides, camel rides. Perfect place to witness sunset. The sand is not white. You can witness plenty of four wheelers on the beach as they have direct access from the main road. Usually super crowded during the weekends even in the day time. Lots of eating options.

Murud Beach is another wonderful coastal destination in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. This beach is known for its golden sands, gentle waves, and the historic Murud Janjira Fort situated just off the coast. Visitors can relax on the beach, take a boat ride to explore the fort, or indulge in water sports like parasailing and banana boat rides. It's a great place to unwind and soak in the beauty of the Arabian Sea.

Nice place peaceful place.
The beach is a bit muddy and the water was not as clear near the beach due to rains.
The water is more blue and clear a bit inside but be careful while going deeper.
There was greenery all around and pleasant wind.
There are beach resorts with direct access to sea.
Best to a road trip. There are few other beaches on this strip and also a hill which gives great beach view

Clean Beach. Has good amount of water sports activities. You can drive your car straight onto the beach. But be careful not to go in wet sand. The road going towards the beach is very narrow(only one car can pass at a time). Has small stores which sell maggi and snacks

It's one of the best place to visit in Dapoli. We enjoyed a lot here. The sunset view is just mesmerizing. This beach is the best beach in Dapoli and lovely one to spend some quality times with your dear ones. All kind of water sports are available here. Must recommended.

*Update : As tourism grows, ignorant tourists have started running the beach. Check my timelapse video to see the filth!
Beautiful Beach with water sport activities available. This beach also is supposed to be the safest on the coast with no rocks and a long stretch which doesn't go deeper than 4 feet for quiet much distance. The village has its committee that cleans the beach regularly and thats why they charge daily toll to the tourists.

Sandy beach backed by tree-covered hills, known for swimming, water sports & views of the sunset.
Beautiful and clean beach. It's not very crowded and is still quite clean. It's a flat beach and the slope gradient into the sea is small, so during high tides it feels like being in a lagoon. Once you walk a few hundred feet in the sea, you can feel the depth and get bigger waves. The beach sand is black in places but the water is clear. There are few water sports options but they are mostly temporary.

One of the cleanest beach in Dapoli. The beach is about two kilometres long. What I like the most about this place is that it's less crowded with tourists. The best Sunset view. There are many good beach view hotels available by the coast. Cons of the beach is it does not have water sports activities or food stalls. Overall it's a nice place to visit for some timeout and peace

Definitely one of the best beaches in Maharashtra and Konkan. It is vast and keeps going and good part is that it is clean and one can really enjoy even when there is crowd as the beach is so vast. Very limited recreational sports so the beach is enjoyable. Very good place to spend time with family and esp kids as they can enjoy building castles. Sea is calm and there is ample space for walking and parking. If anyone is around this place do visit as it worth all the time driving to this place and spending time with the family.

Excellent beach location with limited crowd. Most of the staying options are right on the shore with easy access to beach. The beach is mostly flat level for long distance making it very safe for swimming. Basic common beach sports and activities are available. I wouldn’t recommend dolphin shows though as we hardly saw few dolphins which weren’t coming out of water much and they didn’t spend enough time to look for more.

Sinhagad Fort is a historic fortress perched on a hilltop at 760 meters above sea level near Pune, India. It features a memorial for 17th-century emperors and a temple devoted to the goddess Kali. The fort is famous for its association with the Battle of Sinhagad in 1671 and attracts tourists as a popular weekend getaway and monsoon trekking destination.

Surreal, very calming environment. We went in the morning and reached around 9 am. The surroundings were very good. We were amazed by the beauty of nature.
Due to clouds it was difficult to see some things. Also you have to be careful while walking as things are not clearly visible due to clouds.
Recommend to read history before visiting the fort, so you can feel the importance of the place when you are walking there.
I don't recommend visiting on Sunday because there will be huge traffic jams as most of the people park their vehicles on the road side. Even when we visited on Saturday, when we left around 2 in the afternoon we were stuck around 1 hr.
Another suggestion is you can trek route, I did not go that route, so not sure about the difficulty. Next time definitely I am definitely going to trek to Sinhagad Fort.

The most famous fort for its historic significance as well as the easy travel there in the city of Pune. It’s visited on the daily by a lot of people as a part of their exercise. Sadly the whole fort is now covered with vendors selling food and chips and what not. There is no management for litter here which is disappointing.
The climb is fairly easy but there is easy access till the top by cars or local drivers who take you there. You have to climb the stairs and walk a little to roam around after that.

The trip is one of the best for me..
Complete foggy surroundings with rains in between, Just make it perfect for trek....
I visited it on Monday...
Moderate public with good light.
Drive carefully through the ghat and walk carefully during the trek..
Take a snap of the map at the beginning for a better experience, though there are proper guiding hordings in the way....
Just make sure you leave the place early so that you reach down early before night.
Try to start trek as early as possible.
Food is available sufficiently. Parking is no issue.
Take some cash with you as sometimes the network doesn't work properly.

First trek in my life. I went with a group of 35-40 people so I had amazing company overall and a lot of experts to guide me because I was a complete noob. Such a serene experience going up, we were guided by a bunch of cute little puppies until the way to the top. I'd recommend a good pair of trekking shoes with good friction and support so that you won't slip there. Be careful while climbing because there were definitely some weak spots throughout. For foodies, great local options are available. The only concern points are.. If you visit by own 4 wheeler, you might be facing a parking problem on a crowded day. And the second is.. Housekeeping in the area can be improved. If you are planning a trip for the first time, better plan a whole day. Really you can spend a complete day over there and still you will feel there is so much to do.

A really beautiful fort located above the hills, you can either trek or go by a vehicle, parking space is available at the top. Makes you wonder how capable our ancestors were to build such a place on top of a hill. Great view from there. Please exercise before you go.

Nice early morning drive from Pune city to Sinhagad :D it is scenic and very cold!! Once the sunrises, the temperature is normal :) the views before sunrise are hazy. It’s not extremely beautiful but still a good getaway to see some greenery and the horizon. Lots of snacks and tea and tiffin available everywhere

1. Better not to go in summer. Always try to visit in monsoon. Carry water, wear hat and go in the early morning 🌄 if you are going in summer days.
2. You've bike and car parking at the top of the hill. Sometimes it's difficult to find the parking. Still you've lot to trek even though you're parking vehicle at the top of the hill as it's very large landscape.
3. You'll find food shops at the top of hills.
4. Paid washrooms 🚻 are available but it's very dirty. I think it's not being maintained properly.
5. You'll find temples, samadhi, nice scenery, good trail for trekking.
6. Ticket required at the entrance of singarh forest area.

Sinhagad Fort offers a captivating historical experience with breathtaking views. The trek to the fort is invigorating, and once at the top, you're rewarded with panoramic vistas. The historical significance is rich, adding depth to the visit. However, facilities may be basic, so come prepared. Overall, a must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

It was great visit but i recommend you should visit this fort in rainy season normally it gets too hot at afternoon so visit during morning hrs to avoid exertion! It has great views and it is well maintained and can say easiest fort to visit! Just be careful of weekends as it gets too much crowded and there are many network issues on fort so be prepared for that 🫡!

Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, located in Katraj, Pune, is a large zoo surrounded by greenery and a lake. The park features a snake park with numerous reptiles and an animal rescue center. Established in 1953 as Peshwa Park Zoo over 7 acres of land, it initially had traditional style cages for animals with minimal facilities. The zoo is an incredible attraction, offering a magnificent array of wildlife that is sure to captivate any visitor. With an impressive variety of species, ranging from exotic snakes to majestic big cats, it's an absolute must-see destination for animal lovers.
To make the most of your visit, it's best to plan your trip during the weekdays when the crowds are lighter. On the weekends, the zoo tends to get quite busy, which can make it challenging to see all of the exhibits and enjoy the experience fully. As for the ticket price, it's a very reasonable 40 rs, making it an affordable outing for families and individuals alike.
The zoo's main attractions are not to be missed. You'll encounter the sloth bear, a fascinating creature known for its slow movements and distinctive snout. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to see alligators, crocodiles, and various species of snakes, including some of the most exotic and venomous snakes in the world. And, of course, no trip to the zoo would be complete without seeing the regal big cats, such as the tigers and lions.
Overall, the zoo is an incredible destination that is sure to provide a memorable experience. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast or just looking for an exciting day out, the zoo is an attraction that should be high on your list of places to visit.
Note :- Parking is available at a distance of 300 metres from the zoo.

Small but totally worth it.
Saw some really huge snakes.
Saw both white tiger and yellow tiger roaming playing unlike seeing them sleeping in most of the zoos.
Even the leopards were running around. Loved it.
Slightly lesser birds in zoo.

I visited this place for the first time and the experience was quite good, I must say.
The entry fee is 20 rupees in cash for all visitors (including foreigners), and no other form of payment is accepted.
Before entering the zoo, the guards will check 🛂to see if you have any food items wrapped in paper or plastic, which they will remove.
Your food items will be handed over to you in a cloth bag, which will be charged at 2 rupees.
If you carry a plastic bottle, you will have to pay a 10 rupee fee, which is refundable only if you return with the same bottle (to help keep the surroundings clean).
All of these procedures are done before entering the zoo.
After entering, you will first see the snake park🐍, which is quite amazing❣️. If you have any doubts or want to ask anything, the zookeepers will provide all the information.
This will be followed by the turtle, crocodile, Bengal monitor (reptile), mongoose, bird section (peacock, vulture, eagle, peahen, owl), zoo cats, deer, tiger, lion, antelope, elephant, and many more animals. The zoo is equipped with battery-operated vehicles🚙, which are environment-friendly and noiseless🔇, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable ride while exploring its rich flora and fauna. (I'm not sure about the exact charge for this service) .
Due to the vast expanse of the zoo, it may take an extended amount of time⌛ to fully explore.
I expected to see more animals.
There is no food facility available inside the zoo, but there are drinking water 🚰and washroom facilities🚻.
Parking Facility is also provided 🅿️.
⚠️One important note⚠️: BE AWARE OF THE EAR CLEANING SCAM.
There are people outside the zoo who may try to convince you to clean your ears.

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of visiting a vibrant and captivating zoo that left me in awe. The zoo housed a myriad of animals, including both **venomous and non-venomous snakes**, showcasing their intricate beauty and fascinating behavior. Reptiles like **crocodiles, alligators, and tortoises** gracefully inhabited their enclosures, while **vultures, peacocks, owls, and kites** showcased their majestic feathers. The presence of diverse cat varieties, such as the elusive **jungle cat**, added to the allure of the zoo, alongside the adorable **mountain squirrels** and the mighty **sloth bears**. The photogenic **leopards and tigers** stole the show, captivating visitors with their majestic presence. The zoo also boasted residents like **wolves, jackals, elephants**, and a plethora of other fascinating creatures, making it a truly remarkable and memorable experience.

The zoo provides a generally positive experience, especially for animal enthusiasts. Spanning a large area, it takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to explore the entire facility. However, as someone not particularly fond of animals, my personal enjoyment was limited during the visit. One notable suggestion is the need for more seating arrangements, as there was a lack of space or benches for visitors to rest. This improvement could enhance the overall comfort for all patrons.

Nice place where children can see the animals which they have never seen in real. Please carry cash as they didn't had google pay option when i visited also they have car to travel inside which cost 40₹ per person, this ticket counter also needed cash or else you have to walk to much. If you carry water bottle you have to give deposit of ₹10 per bottle which you will get back when you show the bottles while going Out. Please try to come early else you will not get the parking in parking station.

I have visited this place on Saturday at 10.30 AM, fortunately there was no rush at all at the ticket counter. I would suggest to go early in the morning to avoid queue for tickets. Parking is besides the bus stop which is prior to the zoo park. The ticket is just 40 rs for adults. You get so many animals and snakes to see inside this zoo at such a low cost. If you see the entire zoo by walking then it takes around 2hrs to cover, but there are benches placed where you can take a rest. If you are young then I would suggest to go by walking so you get enough time to see the animals as per your ease. Overall a very nice place to visit with your kids.

Hello friends, during my recent visit to Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, I had a wonderful experience. First, I bought the tickets, which cost Rs.30/person. Upon entering the park, I noticed that it was filled with lush greenery. My first stop was the snake enclosure, where I observed various types of snakes such as Naag, Dhamin, Cobra's, and more. All these snakes were safely placed inside glass boxes, allowing visitors to have a close look at them while being protected.
Afterward, I proceeded to explore the diverse range of animals and birds in the park. Although the number of birds was relatively low, there was a wide variety of animals. I had the opportunity to observe tigers, elephants, foxes, and many more animals up close. The entire visit lasted approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
For convenient mobility within the park, cars are available for transportation. Overall, my experience at Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park was incredibly amazing. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have an enjoyable time. So, I invite you to come and visit the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park located in Katraj, Pune.

Great place to spend Sundays! This actual zoo offers a variety of animals to watch. Children would love it, as they can see lots of wild animals roaming freely in their cage areas. The animals have plenty of space to stay happily. The ticket cost for adults is ₹40, and there is an option to book tickets online on their website, eliminating the need to stand in a queue for purchasing tickets.

Good Park to visit on weekends. We can see lots of Animals including Lion and Tiger. You can spend a full day with family here. There was a long queue for tickets. They offer paid bus service for internal rides which should be bought at the ticket counter only. There was no canteen or hotel inside the park. They have paid parking available but it's getting very hard. You have to park a car in the opposite paid parking lot. Must visit this park once.

The day we visited was republic day so the crowd was much more than usual, besides that it is just nice strolling around here, looking at animals and relaxing for a bit.
As the zoo is quite huge, you will surely need to walk a lot, so be prepared for it (estimated walk: min 5 km). If you cannot, there is availability of electric vehicle, which gives you a nice tour, but I really recommend you to buckle up and explore. You'll be amazed how awesome the tiger and the lion looks especially!

A really nice place to come with friends, family or even a date. When it comes to zoos I always prefer to look at how the animals are treated rather than the experience as a visitor. I remember some turtles were kept in some pretty dirty tanks which was not nice to see. A lot of the other animals were kept in seemingly good conditions.
As a visitor, it was definitely a good time. The zoo offers a look at a variety of different animals and offers a lot of knowledge on them all which was an interesting read. The highlights are definitely the big cats like the lion and tigers. Hearing a lion growl was one of the best real life experiences, you could feel it in your soul.
Definitely visit this place on a weekday, it gets very full on weekends.
I wish I could rate it a 4 but just because of some of the conditions of the tanks for the reptiles, I can't give it more than a three.

Great tourist attraction, right in the middle of the city. The reptile arena & Snake park is the best part of the zoo. Other animals like lion, tiger & elephants are kept in separate enclaves at some distance to each other. It was a wonderful experience.
The entire zoo can be covered in 2 hours. Battery operated vehicles, driven by the zoo staff, are available for a nominal charge. Carry water in your own home bottles, there's an additional deposit if you have plastic disposables.
The management has taken great efforts to maintain cleanliness & discipline.
Great for children and family groups.

The enclosure of lion and tigers is very small, the enclosure of deer had no grass, and just dry leaves. 22 out of the 46animals mentioned in their map are “proposed animals”. There are very few boards inside the zoo. The area lacks greenery and had soo much polluted air due to the ongoing construction in the zoo. Snake park is good with many species and information boards. Overall 2/5, the ticket is too cheap (₹40 for adults) so it is value for money.

Rajgad Fort is a hilltop fortress located in Maharashtra, India that is renowned for its historical significance and popularity as a trekking site. The fort features palace ruins, caves, and water cisterns that offer visitors a glimpse into the region's past. Despite being one of the toughest forts to climb in Maharashtra, trekkers can enjoy an easy to moderate level trek by walking through the small town at the base of Rajgad.

The trek to Rajgad is considered to be one of the most challenging and rewarding treks in the region. The trek offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and hills, and the fort at the top is a testament to the rich history of the region.
The trek starts from the base village of Gunjavane and takes around 3-4 hours to reach the top. The trail is well-marked and passes through dense forests, rocky terrain, and steep inclines. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy the scenic beauty of the region and take breaks at various viewpoints.
At the top of Rajgad, trekkers can explore the fort and its various structures, including temples, palaces, and water tanks. The fort also offers panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Overall, the Rajgad trek is a challenging but rewarding experience for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers. The trek offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Maharashtra and provides an opportunity to connect with nature.

Two routes from gunjavane village
1. Chor darwaja - well trodden path
2. Gunjavane darwaja - less used but has nice jungle. Should be used for ascent. A bit slippery for descent but doable with the help of railings
One route from Pali which goes to Pali darwaja - easiest of all
Some other routes that I did not take are
1. from village Male
2. There is a road going to village bhutonde which intersects the rajgad torna trek route. You can park here and go to Rajgad by Alu darwaja or further fo to Kalehswari buruj circling the balekilla
Latest update - no food is served on top now except buttrmilk cucmber and lemon juice
Carry your own food
No nightstay allowed anymore

Massive fortress. Must visit. Brilliant camping experience. Adventurous trek.Rajgad, the first capital of Swarajya, this place is blessed with the pure feet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his family. This place has many entries and exits but Pali darwaja from the village Pali and chor darwaja from village gunjawane are the most commonly used in modern times. The easiest route is from the Pali village. This fort has 3 machis padmavati, sanjeevani and suvela. Padmavati machi has a lake, a temple and samadhi of maharani sai bai, the wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The fort has ruins of buildings and monuments all over and is one of the favorite forts to do camping uphill. Suvela machi is located towards the eastern side of the fort and sanjeevani is located towards the west of fort. Both the machis are 2.5kms long and are very beautiful and are an architectural marvel. Sanjeevani machi also has a aloo darwaja located which is used to do range trek to torna. Balekilla has a very thrilling way up (also beware of monkeys) and a view worth every stair. Balekilla has 2 buruj and few ruined buildings, the rajwada and sadar is located on the balekilla. water options are available up. Food can be ordered through locals who stay at the foothills or can be cooked by own.(Only veg food allowed) Many organizations have been working for conservation of the fort and this has resulted positively that many things have started to improve and are maintained properly. A proper 2day and 1 night stay camp will be more than enough to explore this fort entirely.

The fort is a very good place to visit with family. This is one of the biggest forts in Maharashtra and it is 70-80km away from Pune. There are two forts on the fort, one is Rajgad and the other is called Bali Killa. You need to take some precautions if you are planning for Bali Killa if you are with small children. You should avoid Bali Killa if you do not know about it.

I had the privilege of visiting Rajgadh Fort during the monsoon season, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The combination of history and nature in the rainy season makes this fort a hidden gem.
The weather during my visit was rainy, but it added a unique charm to the fort. The fort's surroundings were covered in lush greenery, and the ancient stone structures seemed to come alive in the mist and rain. The waterfalls cascading down the hills nearby were a sight to behold.
Despite the rain, the accessibility to the fort was manageable, but I would recommend wearing sturdy footwear and carrying rain gear. The fort's historical significance became even more evident in the monsoon, with the rain-washed walls and the smell of wet earth.
I also had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour, which provided fascinating insights into the fort's history and architecture. It's a perfect way to make the most of your visit.
If you plan to visit Rajgadh Fort during the rainy season, remember to embrace the weather, take your time exploring, and capture the mesmerizing views. It's an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

This is a beautiful medium difficult Trek) hiking (more precise) place near Pune. It takes 2 and half hours for leisure up and 1 and half hours and return. Few places have steep up, railings are there for support. Not suitable for kids, old aged, Cardiac patients, and pets. Better to start the trek early in the morning and to carry a water bottle. On weekends, a lot of people will be there as a company and few small vendors with water, and refreshments at regular intervals are available. I enjoyed it, and it was worth hiking.

This fort is the best in itself..it has more surface area as compared with other forts, on high altitude with fully covered भक्कम तटबंदी.
More than 10+ spots on the fort to see.
Visit if you love to do trekking.

One of the greatest fort in Sahyadri ranges. This was first capital of Chatrapati Shivray. Torna and Sinhgad fort clearly visible from here. Height is 1400 metre. Must visit place all the time in a year. Moderate risk trek till Pali door. Balekilla is little difficult to trek.
Dilip Jadhav — Google review
Rajgad fort is among the most historically significant forts in Maharashtra, it was the first capital of the Maratha empire under Chhatrapati shivaji.
The fort is located about 60km south west from pune city.
As usual morning is the best option for the trek, the trekking starts from a small villege named Gunjavane, you should walk around 4.5-5km (one side) to reach the fort entrance. Better carry enough water and stuff.
At the top, fort is divided into many parts like Padmavati machi, Suvela Machi, Sanjeevani machi etc and the top most part called Balekilla.
It was a great and wholesome experiance for us trekking this beauty.
Things to be Noted.
- Better get there (Gunjavane) by your own vehicle since there is only one direct bus to Gunjavane from Pune, Swargate depot. Its leaves from pune at around 9.30 -10 Am
- If you want to go by bus from pune, either get the direct bus or Go to Katraj (5km approx from pune) then get Bus number 296 to Margasani. From Margasani you should travel 6km to reach Gunjavane (where trek starts). You’ll get rikshaw for ₹300-₹400 per trip.
-The last bus to return from Margasani to katraj is at 8.00PM.
- Entry fee is ₹5
- There wont be cellular range at Gunjavane, better carry Liquid cash for food and other essentials.

I had a wonderful visit to Iscon Temple. The temple is truly beautiful and impeccably clean. The only minor inconvenience is that if you're arriving by car, you'll need to park in a parking area quite far from the temple itself. However, the serenity and beauty of the temple make the short walk more than worth it.

ISKCON TEMPLE AND NVCC, Katraj - Kondhwa Rd, Tilekar Nagar, Kondhwa Budruk, Pune, Maharashtra 411048, India
Jungle temple from the mid-1700s dedicated to Shiva, with a storied antique bell, ponds & statues.
This temple is located on the Pune Satara highway near Nasrapur, the road is great along the highway but as soon as you take the turn the roads are bad and since you pass through the village centre it's pretty crowded as this place is a main center for many nearby villages. The roads are narrow at some places hence you need to be careful. After reaching the spot there is beautiful Shiv temple and it also has 3 ponds filled with fish and turtles, apart from being a place of worship there is a garden and adventure park developed for attracting more tourists, it has entry fee of Rs 20 for adults.
It's a must visit place during all seasons but specially during monsoon to see the waterfall, we saw a lot of large groups had come here for family picnic with packed food and having it in the shade, good place to hangout, kids can also enjoy in the playground with equipments.
Parking can be a little tight for cars during a crowded day but it's manageable. The adventure park was closed during the lockdown period but it has been reopened and undergoing renovations, please do visit and ensure you enjoy responsibly and contribute towards making this place even better
There are a couple of small hotels serving snacks and packaged drinks incase you need a quick bite, they also sell packed drinking water bottle

Nestled amidst the serene embrace of nature, Baneshwar reveals itself as a tranquil sanctuary, where ancient spirituality and vibrant biodiversity converge in harmonious symphony. At the heart of this verdant oasis lies an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, an emblem of timeless devotion, cradled by two sacred ponds teeming with life—fishes and tortoises glide through their waters, embodying the cycle of life and renewal.
Enveloping the temple, a dense canopy of trees whispers the ancient tales of the land, their leaves dancing to the rhythm of the breeze. A well-crafted path meanders through this green labyrinth, offering pilgrims and nature lovers alike a chance to wander in meditative contemplation, grounded by the earth beneath their feet.
Despite the whispers of misguidance found on the web, the modest entry fee of Rs.20 ushers visitors into a realm where nature's spectacle unfurls—a so-called waterfall that, though modest, charms the eye from the vantage of a thoughtfully constructed viewpoint, overlooking the Shivganga river basin.
For the young and the young at heart, Baneshwar extends its playful embrace with a quaint playground, its swings and sculptures of giraffes, elephants, eagles, and tigers sparking the flames of imagination. Adventure beckons through the thrill of rope bridges and zip-lining, each activity a testament to the spirit of exploration and the joy of soaring heights.
The sanctuary’s care extends to practical comforts as well—ample free parking, inviting eateries, and a floral haven at the garland shop. Though the call of nature may be less pleasing in one respect—the facilities provided—this minor note does not mar the overall symphony of experiences.
Baneshwar is more than a destination; it’s a journey through time, nature, and spirituality, rated highly in the hearts of those who seek its serene touch. Best visited in the rain's embrace or winter's gentle chill, it remains a canvas of experiences, painting memories that linger long after the visit.
As legends whisper of tunnels connecting to historic forts and the tales of kings who once graced its grounds, Baneshwar stands as a testament to history, culture, and the enduring beauty of the natural world. A visit here is not merely a day spent but a moment cherished, wrapped in the green embrace of the earth and the watchful gaze of the ancient.

5. For kids:
a) Spacious small playground garden with swings & few other things
b) Giraffe, Elephant, Eagle & tiger sculptures
c) Adventure sports
One ride Rs. 50/- per person
i) Walk on bamboo in center of hanging rope bridge
ii) Walk on hanging tyre below rope bridge
iii) Walk on hanging vertical rope bridge
All above rope bridges are of approx. 5 meter length only at a approx. 5 meter height above ground.

6. Free 2 & 4 wheeler parking, ample space
7. Small eateries
8. Flowers & garland shop
9. Footwear stand at the entrance of temple Free

Overall I will rate this place in the range of 7 to 8 out of 10 points from kids point of view for the families.
Park your vehicle for free, visit the temple, after visiting temple, buy entrance tickets & stroll Baneshwar at your leisure. 30 minutes is more than enough at Baneshwar unless Kids want to play more, then 60 minutes enough.
Best time to visit in rainy & winter season (June to Feb). Not recommended during summer.
I visited yesterday i.e. 10th September 2023 with my Friends.
After Narayanpur visit you can head further straight to Saswad & from Saswad to Dive ghat to Phursungi to Hadapar to Pune. There is no toll post on this route.
For any doubt on road junction or road T junction (eg for Nasrapur, Kapurhol, Saswad) please ask there & there itself.
It is better to ask & be on right route than heading on wrong route without asking.
I have attached photos of Baneshwar trip in this review & have tagged appropriately for better understanding.
Hope you will find the above information useful to plan Baneshwar trip in the best way.
All the best...

The Pratapgad Fort is a renowned battlefield constructed atop a hill in the 1650s. It offers picturesque views and features a Hindu shrine. The ideal time to visit is early morning, and there are excellent food options available on the fort premises, along with superb souvenir shops. For better comprehension of the site's significance, it is advisable to hire a guide as visitors may not be aware of what they are seeing or its relevance.
Pratapgarh Fort, located in the state of Maharashtra, India, is a historic and picturesque hill fort that holds significant cultural and historical importance. Perched atop a hill in the Sahyadri mountain range, the fort offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Constructed during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the fort is a testament to his military prowess and strategic planning. The architecture includes various features such as watchtowers, bastions, and fortified walls, showcasing the engineering brilliance of that era.
Exploring Pratapgarh Fort provides visitors with a captivating journey back in time. The intricate carvings, remnants of structures, and the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings make it a popular destination for history enthusiasts, trekkers, and nature lovers alike.

Along the way, diverse stores offer souvenirs and refreshments, including delightful options like kokam juice and chaas. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. The fort's rich heritage coupled with the convenience of amenities makes it a must-visit destination. Whether you're a history enthusiast or seeking natural beauty, Pratapgarh Fort promises a memorable experience for all. Highly recommended for an enriching outing.

Place is nice to visit once - you can go in a car till the fort steps or have a treck with your friends either way I would recommend to go in winters. If you visit in summers you should come back till 9-10 am.

When you visit please ensure taking a local guide available at the parking area. It’s a one hour tour and the charges are Rs. 600/- but the knowledge you gain is invaluable. Mere sightseeing is not enough but understanding the history of the place is equally important. Presently restoration work of the fort is underway and may continue for long time. It is not an inconvenience though. There are local restaurants on the fort which provide local cuisine. Ideal time is to reach in the morning, see the fort, have lunch and return. Not recommended in afternoons as the heat can take its toll. After 4 pm could also work. Try carrying cash as the network may not be there and payment could be a problem. Venturing the fort takes you up to about 500 steps in phases (not continuously) and as such elderly people may need to take care.
Sachin Shinde — Google review
This fort is approximately 45 min journey from mahabaleshwar. Plan it in the morning time or after 4 pm for a pleasant weather.
Make sure to book a guide from the base of the fort. The cost will be somewhere around Rs 300. The guide will make the whole trek interesting with many facts , historical dates , he will talk about the construction from a war point of view. And in no time you will reach at the top of the fort. There are some restaurants serving food and snacks in the fort. Make sure to try the churned buttermilk with extra froth. There is one artifact's museum/shop. Most of the things we do get at flea markets but yes as souvenirs there are many options here.
There are many stalls selling tamarind, raw mango slices and berries . It reminded me of my school days . After school it was a ritual to buy it for Rs 1 to 5 and relish it on the way home.
Do not carry snacks or tacky stuff in your hand as there are monkeys roaming around and they are good snatchers.
Sne Pack — Google review
It's a heritage site with lots to see and learn (only if you hire a guide - 600 Rs). We had a wonderful guide, Ravi Raj, a middle aged man, who made the trip worthwhile. There are lots of shops selling food, water and all sorts of cooling drinks (lassi, kokum, etc.). The place should be maintained better, but then it's a private property and not government funded.
There's no parking lot (or parking charges). At the peak time (mornings) if you try driving to the end of the road, you may not be able to get a parking and even get out easily. Suggest you park at the first spot near the road you see, once you've reached near the fort.

The fort is good, restoration work is in progress. The fort is encroached upon by locals. There are almost 500 stairs to the top.
There was enough rush during the off season. Parking space is limited. Recommended to go early in the morning or in the evening. The drive to the Pratapgarh is scenic with a lot of ghat section drive.
Need good driving skills if returning from the fort in the night.

It is a beautiful fort with mesmerizing views. You can climb the stairs to view Bronze statues at the top. There are some temples on the way. Also, have a visit to the handcrafted items. Stores outside have an good collection to purchase at a cheap price.
Try not to carry any food items in hand because of the monkeys.

Beautiful example of hill Fort. Its old fort surrounded by forest area.No entry ticket for fort.Free parking facility is available. Many food stall, handicrafts shops and restaurants are there. From up top you can enjoy a nice view of the valley. In the fort there is old temple dedicated to bhawani.

•It has hand made bhakri food and old times food to eat by cultural peoples it's a legacy they continue loved it.
•It's a very historical place of maharashtra.
Very beautiful architecture of the fort made in that time.
•Beautiful stones carved and good quality of work was done even in that time.
•you can get a wide view of surrounding and open view.
•relaxing place
•having many shops that sell old things related to fort.
•••••
•you can directly go without any waiting in offseason in fort.
•not a very convenient place for parking
•need to park in a small place but good in off season.
Nice place to visit.

One can imagine the history in this place.thid fort is huge. 500 steps needs to be climbed to go top. On the way there is a temple, lot of eatery options are available. The people living inside the fort are the descendents of Shivaji Maharaj's army. Today also the fort tradition is followed where the main gate is opened at 8am and closed at 8pm. A view of Sahyadri can be taken.

Amazing experience. The walk is a bit steep so be well prepared for that. Rich cultural heritage do avail the guide service which you can book at the bottom of the fort which is serviced by toursim of Maharashtra.

Elephants Head Point is a must-visit location in Mahabaleshwar, offering breathtaking views of the valley and a beautiful sunset. The walk to the spot is enjoyable but lengthy, so comfortable shoes are recommended. It's important to note that there are no restrooms nearby, so visitors should take care of personal needs before arriving. However, there are vendors selling ice cream and masala cucumber on top for refreshment.
Beautiful view. Visit this point for sunset. Good parking space. Short walk from Lodwick point. Road might seem narrow and unused but Google map takes you to the right place if you put Lodwick point.

This place should be in the must go list while in Mahabaleshwar, the views are just great and the sunset is also astonishing, bit far from the town and also had to track a bit and ok once reached the point, felt like it was a worth to try.

lephant's Head Point is the most picturesque viewpoints of Mahabaleshwar ,the overhanging cliffs of this point is similar to the head of an elephant and its trunk. Not a sight to be missed and has its treats along the walking trail with plenty of monkeys. Beautiful place and would definitely recommended.

I recently went to this point to enjoy the scenic beauty.
What i want to highlight here is that there is a portion in this point which is not guarded by the wall & i don't understand why people are more fascinated to take picture while standing facing back to the hills. I think the authorities there should take action to guard the point totally like the way they had made walls to rest places.

Lovely scenery and veiw of mountains. Different types of flora and fauna. Must visit nature lovers. One km walking distance from parking area. Stalls of water and snacks available. Be away from monkeys. You will see different types of flowers on the way. Carry Umbrella with you.

If you are fortunate enough to find board of this point (Zoom the photo) which is hidden by unauthorized sellers and you come to know the point is a walking distance of 1km.
Otherwise you will return from an outside point where the tourists rush for photos on horses and some good views.
But that is not actual point.
The board and way which goes to actual point is shrouded by unauthorized shops/hotels/sellers which misguides tourists and many tourists return from outside point which feels like actual viewpoint but its not.
Tourism department should ban these sellers which are causing distraction or move them away from display board.

Good scenic view over the high mountain n rocks. The rock resembles the head n nose of an elephant. The way towards the viewpoint is bit muddy but when you reach view points its beauty on earth. You can enjoy the chats stall items, cotton candy and please beware of monkeys there. They will be there but can snatch your items if you are carrying a polybag.

Nestled in the Sahyadri Mountain ranges, south of Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar Hill Station is a hidden paradise with enchanting views and mystical landscapes. The town offers cool, pleasant weather year-round and spectacular vistas of lush green hills. Visitors can enjoy activities such as visiting Lingmala waterfall, Monkey Point, and Venna Lake while indulging in delicious strawberries from local vendors.
Needle Point was very much isolated during lockdown and was actually fun to visit as I've never seen this place so vacant. Overall a good place as it gives view of mountains, elephant head, needle & waterfall. Close to nature is always fulfilling.

Amazing place to visit. We had visited Mahabaleshwar sometime in December- wow, what a climate to enjoy! Everything was so perfect - great scenery, fantastic photos, beautiful lake, clean strawberry farms and after all great food to enjoy. Once you checked into hotel, it’s highly recommend not to take your car / vehicles to the main picnic points as most of the places are very crowded and you will waste lot of time searching for parking! The best choice is to hire taxi and roam around - usually they charge for 4 persons full day @ 1,500/- which is quite decent. Taxi drivers are also really helpful and promptly guide you where to spend time and best locations. In the main market, there are lots of standard / high quality hotels and if you haven’t booked in advance, room tariff can be negotiated and very competitive. Just try Vienna lake, Gocart, Strawberry ice cream, and lot of blissful cool climate. We found only parking and is an issue but otherwise, overall a very good experience well spent time with family.

Best hill station to visit either on early monsoon or ending of monsoon. Views are like heaven. Do carry raincoat, umbrella won't help. Hotels and food is good. To enjoy complete, visit with cab or personal vehicle. It's none less than heaven. Market is costly, food is also bit costlier than normal restaurant. But the place, points, views are excellent

Mahableshwar is a heavenly abode on earth. It’s so beautiful. It has a beautiful lake at the entry point. The beauty of Mahableshwar is a wonder but the road tax that we need to pay at the two points - one at Panchgani and one at the entry point of Mahableshwar makes me disappointed many points. These so called road tax collectors are befooling customers. Even administration is not doing anything in this regard. Many people in daily routine are becoming the victims of these corrupted people. Even at entry point of Mahableshwar, the road tax collecting staff charges whatever they want. It’s ridiculous and shame on the authorities. This is really what authorities need to work in.
As far as the Mahableshwar is concerned, the most important aspects I like is the lake view, old church and the try on foods like famous chikki, Fudge and Strawberry Shake. Don’t forget to have Fudge here, it’s really mouth watering. Mahableshwar is known for strawberries, English Gooseberries, other berries also.
So, a complete destination for the family and friends enjoyment👍👍👍👌 I will definitely give 5 stars if the authorities remove road tax enforcement.

Vienna lake is a super crowded tourist place. Especially over the weekends.
There is boating , games , food , horse riding (costly).
The horse riding is really a scam. They take you for a quick 500m round for 3-4 min and charge you 200Rs.
Can you believe it ?
Initially they tell you they ll take a big round for ten minutes but trust me we hardly got five minutes. Someone will accompany you while taking the round.
It’s mostly for kids who are fascinated by the horses. All the horses have their name it’s pretty nice. They are all groomed and well taken care of.
The boating looked nice but is super crowded to get a chance. We didn’t try it we just enjoyed the view of the lake from far.
The parking here is 50rs.

Venna Lake is a great tourist attraction spot in Mahabaleshwar. This lake was constructed by Shri Appasaheb Maharaj, who was Raja (King) of Satara in 1842. The length of the lake is 4 km and width is 1.5 kms. The lake is surrounded by green trees. In late evening one can see the clouds passing over lake water. There is a horse ride just next to the lake. Also, lot of food joints on the road. Few local vendors sell carrots and strawberry near the road. I will highly recommend to buy carrots as they are organic and tastes great. Venna Lake is approx 2 kms away from ST stand/ city market. There are few attractions for kids like toy train, toy cups, giant wheel etc.
The rates for boating are 500+200 for 30 mins assisted ride. 200 for the boating person.
Be careful while using google map as it can direct to other side of lake where you will not be able to reach main lake entrance.

Nice and calm place to have a great boat ride.
Horse ride also available near the lake.
There are two types of rides.
One is a peddle ride where we have to peddle to have a ride which is cheap for a longer time period.
Another is a ride with a boat oarsman where they give u a person who rows your boat which is privy for less time.
But the ride in water is worth it whichever ride you choose.
There is a nearby photo booth too for tourists.

I'll never travel to Satara without this trip planner again
Table Land is the second-highest plateau in Asia, renowned for its breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. It is a popular destination for horseback riding, though it's recommended to explore the area on foot to truly appreciate its natural beauty. The site boasts the footprint of Panch Pandava and a tiger cave where visitors can purchase snacks and drinks.
This is very Beautiful place. Here you can take ride with horses. This is very nice and relaxing place. You can take fresh oxygen here. You can see how Beautiful is our nature 🥰
Pranjal Sadavrat — Google review
It's an overrated place, it has five plateaus with some small caves, but all the plateaus are disconnected so you walk around in one of them only. Horse riding charges are high(2000 per person) for full round. You can also easily walk around and visit all the points but it will take couple of hours so if you have time go for the walk. Lots of movies are shot here and probably looks better after rainy season. In December it was sunny and less greenery. During monsoon I was told that horse riding is not available.
himanshu pal — Google review
Horse ride charges are too high but you can try once if not tried ever. Kids, old people and everyone must sit properly while in the horse ride as the ride is very, very rocky. They give a short trip of the table land through the horse ride and provide some information about the place. Many film’s scenes have been shot here like Bajirao Mastani, Raja Hindustani, etc. There is a pond but the water has been dried up as some work has to be done there. Fresh and naturally cool sugarcane juice is served in the tiger caves. Lot of little things to try on the table land point.

Don't fall for the horse riding trap. Just enjoy walking these beautiful points. Enjoy the beautiful lake from the Table Land.
Only issue we faced was searching ' table land' on map. It showed another route. So one local guy helped us and asked to search for Joseph convent school and then to follow the table land road. Accordingly, we reached the correct destination. Parking is available there. Fee is 30. Food joints are also available there.

Considered as Asia's second biggest plateau. Great views for photography at the time of sunset. Horse riding was thrilling and enjoyed it the most, chose the right plan to cover the complete Table land area with a guide. Street food is also good.

The place is so peaceful and Memorable for the loved once. We visited in the month of January so no entrance is allowed to the old road some construction is going on so we have to enter through the backside, which is almost a mountain trekking spot if you have to reach the plateau.Take a walk if you are a fitness freak as it's is too high and risky to climb.Horses are available for certain points they will show at certain price starts from 800 to 2500.The guide will show you the historical points and show you the famous movies shooting spots.Just enjoy the nature and beware of the monkeys so do not carry anything while entering into the caves. There are two famous caves Den dine cafe and devil's point entry fees 15rs there you can enjoy the sunset.Teas and snacks are also available.Great experience.

The plateau is divided into 5 plateaus. One cannot access other plateaus from one. The plateau Table Land is a barren flat on top of a mountain. One can see beautiful views of surrounding areas below it. The plateau has horse ride as well as horse carriage ride facilities. The horse carriage rides are not enjoyable as the ride is very jerky and not suitable for elderly people. The horses are not trained properly and tend to go out of control of the carriage handler. If you stop to watch the caves the hose carriage will not wait for you and end the trip. It is advisable to walk the plateau which ma take 2 hours time. The Tiger Cave and one more cave is not maintained properly and is clustered with food stalls by contractors who has taken the caves on lease from local authorities. They charge entry fees. At some places it look like they are preparing fresh caves by digging the soil!

Beautiful place in mahabaleshwar this is the second largest plateau in Asia. You would love this place in monsoon or in winter there are two caves too you can do a mini trek. Beware of monkeys do not carry any fruit or drinkable unless you want to feed them. Keep mobiles seperate from eatables as they might snach your food and you can loose your mobile too.

Need to be careful about horse ride charges, good place, jungle walk around the tiger caves they charge ₹15, it's 5 mins walk but worthy . Very cool place, better to have sugarcane juice or lemon juice once back at parking things are bit costlier at caves.

Asia's Second highest plateau. Beautiful place with beautiful view 😍 I suggest not to take overpriced horse ride as you can cover the area by walking and it will be more enjoyable. It has the place where you can see footprint of Panch Pandava and has a cool tiger cave where you can buy some snacks and drinks. I took the service of an old man with his telescope to view some popular spot in panchgani, particularly the shooting spots of some Bollywood movies like Dabang, Tare zameen par, Raja Hindustani etc and it costs only 50 rupees. I had lime water of rupees 30 from the tiger cave and it was really cool refreshing even without ice. Tiger cave costs 10 rupees for entry.

It is an amazing place to enjoy nature and the lateritic plateaus of the Western Ghats. The plateau is a home to numerous endemic species of flowers and plants. Some of the most beautiful orchids are also present on this plateau. The tourism has been kept in check with the help of the restricted track for horses but wanderers should take precautions so as to avoid trampling of these beautiful flowers.

The only spot in Panchgani worth visiting, its a very big flat land on a cliff with mesmerizing views from every corner. Recommended to walk because horse rides are not that good and overpriced. Come in rains to see clouds and speedy winds. It may take upto 3 hour to cover it on foot. you can see the city and lake down below. There is car parking fee and food stalls, games at the entrance. Had a good time.

This is the largest plateau in Asia we were told. It's a nice place to catch great views of Panchgani, especially during sunrise and sunset. There are a few activities here that you can take advantage of like horse riding tours and pull cart tours of the plateau.
Be sure to visit the Tiger Cave or Lion Cave which have small cafes set up in them.

Visit in rainy season or winters… not for summers… although we saw a beautiful sunrise there… at sharp 6 AM on 18 May
The view of city from the top is amazing… there are horses also… you can do a ride in under 1000 bucks.
Overall it’s a beautiful place…

Table land is one of the biggest plateau in and around Maharashtra. The horse riders will tell you to come with them for 500 mts and then convince you to ride with them for looking at all the points.
They will quote anything from 500 rs. to 2000 rs. For 4 points, 7 points, 11 points and so on.
You will not miss anything if you don't look at those points as the price that they quote is very high. You may negotiate with them on a non peak day.
But by walk, you can definitely go to the caves and see where panch pandav once resided during their vanwaas.
There is another tunnel after you reach the cave wherein there is a idol of Shankar Bhagwaan.
You can sit in the cave and have some Maggi or tea/coffee as there are couple of vendors out there.
The parking is outside and you need to walk inside. The horse riders will try to grab you at this place itself.
If you take a horse, they will show you single tree, Sydney point, Ganesh visarjan lake which is now called as Bajirao Mastani Lake, etc.
They will tell you names of all the movies which were picturised at this place.
Taral Shah — Google review
For you it's a Very good place.
Amazing photos can be taken.
Horses and horse carriages are very costly.
Can be travelled on foot too.
Don't fell in trap of horse owners.
Many movie shoots done there
Beautiful pandava caves with fine dining experience also there.
The moment you reach scammers will come with horses to give you a demo and tell you the ride costs Rs 240 only but after taking you inside, they will ask you for Rs 2500 for the ride. The taxi people are hand in glove with these scammers. They mistreat the horses too. This scam should immediately end. The place is pretty boring too. There is nothing really to see here. Just plain barren land and nothing else. I would say take if off your list if you are visiting Panchgani. Tiny dingy caves and nothing else actually.

Our trip to Tableland was a wonderful experience thanks to the picturesque location here. This is said to be the second longest mountain plateau in Asia.
The best time to visit here is the evening before the sunset when u can do excellent photography. The view from up above is very beautiful. We can also choose to go for horse rides which takes us around one or two plateaus.
We preferred a carriage ride(4 people) for 1500 /. Solo rides are also available at similar rates. There are many shops on the way where one can have tea and snacks and other accessories made of different colored stones.

Table Top is the name locally some people call this place.
It’s a huge open space where you can enjoy proper sunrise & sunset.
Try visiting this place during cold weather, it’s a very pleasant place to enjoy your time with loved ones!
There are horse rides available, in which they will take you to multiple points. Don’t forget to bargain, they will quote you way higher than the usual price just because you’re a tourist.
There are also local stores for shopping and eateries which provide tea & maggi. The tea was fine, maggi was also good but the onion bhajiyas were amazing, don’t forget to have bhajiyas and chai there.
Jay Haria — Google review
Excellent place, best recommended at the evening time. If you are using Google maps to drive your car there, make sure to set the location to table land parking.
There are snacks available around the location. A lot of horses if you don't want to walk. Tangas for elderly too.

Good place to view on the go not much too see you can take horse ride in 500-1000 according to that. Dont pay more than that price is negotiable if you bargain properly

Parshuram is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is said to have made an ancient cave with his axe. The cave is located in the foothills of the Aravali mountain range and is said to be a serene place where Parshuram worshiped Lord Shiva.
The Parshuram Temple in Chiplun, Maharashtra, India, is dedicated to Parshurama and was built in 1700 with financial help from Siddi Rasul Yakut Khan. The temple is also known as Shree Kshetra Parshuram, and is managed by the Shree Dev Bhargavram Devasthan Trust. The temple is located 11 km from Chiplun towards Mumbai, and major festivals celebrated at the temple include Akshaya Tritiya, Ram Navami, and Mahashivratri.
According to Indian mythology, Parshuram was the son of Jamadagni and Renuka, and received an axe from Lord Shiva after completing a terrible reparation. Lord Shiva also taught Parshuram warfare and other skills. Parshuram was born into a Brahmin family, but he had traits of a Kshatriya. He is believed to be one of the Chiranjivis (Immortals), who will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to be the guru of Vishnu's tenth and last incarnation, Kalki.

Parshuram Devasthan is situated in Parshuram Ghat, Chiplun. It is easily accessible from Chiplun Bus Stand and Railway Station. The temple is built in the medieval period and goes back to the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The temple houses small temples of other gods, a Gaushala and a Bhojanalay. All the devotees are given prasadam which consists of Khichdi, Sheera and Pickle prepared hot everyday. Must visit place in Maharashtra.

There are things know and things unknown and in between are the doors.....
Exploring Chiplun........
According to the Indian mythology, of the seven Chiranjeevs (those who can never die), Parshuram is Lord Vishnu’s sixth avatar (incarnation) and it is so believed that he is residing on the Konkan coast as a protector of the West. Shri Parshuram, who donated the earth to Kashyap Rishi and pushed back the entire ocean for himself is the creator of the great land of Konkan. His ancient temple is situated 12 kilometres away from Chiplun.....
Parshuram is the son of Jamdagni Rishi and Mother Renuka. Akshaya Tritiya is known to be his day of birth. This Bhargavrama was known to destroy the demons with the ‘Parshu’ weapon and thus he came to be known as ‘Parshuram’. The speciality of the temple is the stairs which were built by Chandrarao More from Javali nearly 300 years ago.....
The temple was rebuilt by Swami Paramhansa Brahmendra. He was the Guru of Siddi Yakut khan of Janjira, Kanhoji Angre of Kolaba, Peshwa of Pune, Chhatrapati Sahu Maharaj, Tararani of Kolhapur.....
The temple has a splendid architectural beauty, which incorporates both the Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture. The steps from the Ghat lead to the temple premises. The main temple is surrounded by stone walls. The main sanctum has three elaborate idols namely Kal, Kam, and Parshuram. These three idols were brought here 300 years ago by Brahmendra Swami. Shri Parshuram's bed has been kept inside the temple and his traditional footwear 'Paduka' is known to be kept on his bed. There is also a temple of Goddess Renuka behind the Parashuram Temple. The legend goes that the Bandganga lake at this site was created after Parashuram shot five arrows into the land....

Beautiful Temple of Lord Parashuram, with calm and serene surroundings. Located at Chiplun Village. There are some around 40/50 steps to climb to reach temple. There is small local restaurant in the temple complex serving very good Maharashtrian snacks. Do try.

Parshurama is a Chiranjivi (immortal) avatar. After he rid the earth of all the Kshatriyas twenty-one times, Parshurama donated the entire earth to Maharshi Kashyap, thus he could not reside on that land. Parashuram had twenty-one battles to rid of those Kshatriyas Kings who had become brutal dictators and had given up principles of dharma. The Last Ruler to be killed was Kartavirya Arjuna. Rulers like Janak or Ikshwaku who ruled by principles were not harmed. Parshurama shot an arrow in the Arabian sea, pushed the sea back and reclaimed the land of Konkan, today’s 720 km coastline of India stretching from Mumbai to Kerala. Parshurama chose the Mahendragiri peak (in the village also named Parshuram) from this land for his permanent residence. This is the place where the temple is located. It is believed that Lord Parshurama leaves for the Himalayas at sunrise, does tapa in the Himalayas and returns to the temple at sunset.
The major festivals celebrated at the temple are Akshaya Tritiya, Ram Navami and Mahashivratri.

Visiting the Parashuram Temple situated in the heart of Parshuram Ghat in Chiplun was a profound and culturally enriching experience for me. This 17th Century temple was built by Swami Paramhans Brahmendra
Parashuram Temple holds immense historical significance as it is believed to be one of the rare temples dedicated to Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to mythology, Lord Parashuram created the Konkan region by reclaiming land from the sea. The temple is situated on the banks of the serene River Vashishti, adding to its sacred aura.
The sanctum, adorned with the idol of Lord Parashuram, exudes a spiritual energy that is both powerful and serene.

It cannot be compared with Valley of flowers, Uttarakhand but has its own charm
There are four gates, entire flower Plateau is barricaded except for gate 1 & 3 which are open and interconnected. Route through gate 4 is longest with a small lake called kumudini and view point for Kas lake. You can hire bicycle at gate 4 for 50 per hour
Considering the changing pattern of monsoon September would be best time provided there is dry spell for atleast 3days
Online booking is must for booking, cost 100 per person. Booking starts from late August till mid October, you can still visit for free after booking is closed but won't get to see any flowers except for vast grass lands.

Well we went here in the month of June. I did not find many people here. Though the guard there told me it’s very safe to walk on the trail and you could see the beautiful falls after a 15 to 20 minute walk.
I would recommend to go in groups here to enjoy the trail. We too enjoyed the trail and it was very easy to reach the falls as the place is well built and beautifully maintained. I even saw cctv cameras installed on the trail for safety. A perfect place to explore beautiful scenic valley and the waterfalls.
We Paid Rs. 50 for the entry. They even had toilets inside. Also, there were benches around to sit and enjoy the place.

The surrounding greenery adds to the serene beauty, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike. There are in fact couple of waterfalls smaller and bigger.
The government has made substantial efforts to ensure the safety and convenience of tourists with well-maintained viewing platforms and clear signages. There are small eateries nearby offering local snacks, which adds to the charm of a day out here.
Accessibility isn't an issue as the place is well-connected by road; however, to view the waterfall requires a bit of a walk down the steps, which can be challenging for some but is definitely worth the effort.

A great place to go for a natural trip. There's only two waterfalls there, but the way they reflect in your eyes soothes you. Amazing!

I visited here with my wife during a vacation in July 2022 (monsoon season).
Decent parking is available at the property. Road to reach this waterfall is amazing. There could be mild-mid rush everyday & bumper on weekend.
Pros-
* Small waterfall is more beautiful than the large one, as you can get very close to it (fenced area, check the pics).
* Premises is well managed by the local committee. Entry fee of Rs 50/person.
* No food stalls inside, to create litter.
* Road from KAAS to Thoseghar and to Satara are beautiful.
* One can go to the back-side of waterfall through the caves, awesome experience (check the pics).
Cons-
* Can get pretty crowded in the weekends.
Note-
* One can spend 1-2 hours here.

Excellent place to visit. There are a series of waterfalls, some of them 15 to 20 metres and one of approx 200 metres in height. People come from all over Maharashtra to visit the area, especially during the rainy or monsoon season, July to November. Heavy rain falls during that season and because of this the falls have more water and are more spectacular. The immediate area is calm and quiet, with a clean lake and dark woods in a hilly area.entry fees 50/- rs per person.

It is one of the off-beat locations to visit in Satara in monsoon season. Road approaching to waterfall is quite scenic and in good condition. You can spend couple of hours to enjoy the natural beauty with family and friends.
There is a ticket of Rs. 50 per person to visit this waterfall. Parking space is enough to get your vehicle parked. Small tea and snacks stall are available here in monsoon time.

There are two waterfalls...big and small. The pathway are constructed well, so reaching the viewing area is not problematic. The view is breathtaking . For the small falls, we can even go behind the falls they cave entrance.

We visited Thoseghar waterfall during the December end. It was a good visit. No rush and the waterfall was active. There are two waterfalls one is big and the other one is a small one. Don't forget to visit that small one as well. It's beautiful and you can go beside the waterfall in a cave and see the waterfall from behind.. of course there is a fence but still it is a good experience.

This waterfalls is a key attraction in Saatara District, Maharashtra. It's incredibly beautiful, though swimming isn't allowed because the view is from far. The entry fee is 100 Rs per person. There are two waterfall views, one small and one large. The journey from Saatara is scenic, with the added sight of windmills.

I visited it recently i.e. in winter, while returning from work. Still, the atmosphere was really pleasant and cool. You can hear birds chirping. I would definitely love to visit the same in monsoon. This is a mood lifter and the overall experience is surely 10 on 10!!
