Good beer, food, friendly staff. If crowded or not, but sometimes you have to be patient and wait. Most of all I liked Amber beer, pizza and burger. Maybe someday pub will introduce more snacks, like dry fish, meat, etc. Your loyal client Denys.

The Curtea de Argeș Monastery is a 16th-century Romanian Orthodox cathedral dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God. It holds numerous early icons, religious artworks, and crypts. The monastery was once the first capital of Wallachia and features essential Byzantine edifices, including the Royal Church, a 14th-century UNESCO-listed monument.
Amazing architecture. A place full of history where some of Romania’s kings and queens are buried.
Sebobostes I — Google review
The monastery is beautiful, with amazing details on its outside walls. You can see the tombs of Romanian kings and queens and also find out more about Manole's legend. I find the fee for taking pictures a bit excessive considering the fact that many other places would only charge the fee for professional cameras not for cellphones.

Curtea de Argeș Monastery is an Orthodox monastery in Romania, located in the city of Curtea de Argeș, built between 1515-1517 by Neagoe Basarab. The ensemble includes the episcopal cathedral, one of the most famous architectural monuments in Wallachia. The cathedral is included in the List of historical monuments in Romania, having the classification code AG-II-a-A-13628. During the time of Carol I, the cathedral was transformed into a necropolis for the royal family of Romania. Apart from the royal tombs, the Curtea de Argeș Monastery also houses the relics of Saint Filofteia.
If in 1857 the monastic complex was preserved in its entirety, two fires in 1866 and 1867 destroyed the buildings of the seminary, respectively the dwellings, the chapel and the entrance tower. At the initiative of Charles I, the church was restored starting in 1875 by the French architect Lecomte du Noüy, which resulted in the replacement of the original fresco with a new painting and other radical changes to the interior structure. In 1886, the restoration of the church was finished and the construction of the royal palace on the eastern side of the complex began, which would later be transformed into the episcopal palace.
In 2009, the construction of a new cathedral began for the seat of the Archdiocese of Argeș and Muscel, as well as the tombs of the members of the Royal Family of Romania and the relics of Saint Filofteia. The future Archbishop's and Royal Cathedral from Curtea de Argeș was consecrated on December 7, 2018, being expected that with its definitive consecration, it will also take over from the Argeș Monastery church the function of the archiepiscopal cathedral.

Built in the early 16th century of pale grey limestone in the Byzantine style and is a Romanian Orthodox Church. There are many interesting legends about the construction of the church. One of the interesting features is the way the slit windows on the towers are slanted. The outside of the is beautifully decorated with detailed carving.

One of the best museum related experiences in Romania I have ever had. Congratulations to all the people involved in the endeavor.
One tip would be getting a guided tour, it offers so much more than just perusing the building on your own. And as an added bonus, all profits they make are donations.
Alexandra Valean — Google review
Powerful place. A huge history lesson is hidden behind these walls, offering an insight into Romanian history and forgotten happenings. The entry is free of charge (although I would highly advise to charge a fee or provide entry based on a donation). At the moment, you only pay if you wish to attend a guided tour, otherwise you can visit based on an audio guide on your phone and in your own pace. Friendly and helpful staff.
Simina Sav-Șamata — Google review
I had read many books about and referencing this place before getting here. Only a part of the old building can be visited, the rest is a private company. The museum also works as a private company, which is admirable, but makes it hard to sustain themselves. There are boards in each room and the track takes you through the horrors of those times, with context and follow up. As a society, it is essential to have such memorials to help us learn, understand and remember so that we can consciously decide how we want our life to be.

Well kept prison . Well described information.
DADO — Google review
One of the most horrible prison crimes in Romania during communism rule took place here. We really recommend to take a guide tour. We had English version is was very much worth it. Super informative, educational and interesting. It takes around 1h to walk through. It is hard and emotional, but worth the visit.
Keili — Google review
A real hidden gem. Definitely worth visiting. A truly shocking but fascinating piece of history. Before we went, we had read reviews saying that there wasn't much in English, but we didn't have any problems with that at all - while it's true that a lot of the signs were in Romanian, you can get an audio guide in English for 20 lei per person or a person to give you a guided tour for 50 lei per person so there was no problem with this at all. We went for the person giving a guided tour option and it was fantastic. The guide was really knowledgeable (she normally works as one of the historical researchers there when not giving tours) and told the story of the prison very well. They prefer it if you phone in advance to let them know when you're coming if you want an in person tour. Would 100% recommend.
Maddie Harris — Google review
A very interesting museum and an important piece of history. We downloaded the app to tour the exhibits in English and spent a little over an hour here. The cost to enter was 20 Lei per adult which we felt was very reasonable.
A special shout-out to the staff who were so friendly and welcoming.
Catherine Main — Google review
Visited with no specific expectations, and was very impressed. The self-guided tour (with app for English speakers) runs chronologically through the rooms. The staff were very helpful, and the artwork, information curation, and ambiance were done well. The history/subjects are (obviously) heavy, and told with respect and reverence. A great example of a simple, small memorial museum done well.
Patrick — Google review
If Pitesti is on your way (for example going to Poenari, Timisoara, East Rumania, etc) don't doubt it. Take a while and stop here in the Prisión Memorial.
Although the venues are not so "real"" as other prisons (because they have been already partially transformed for other purposes) the guided tour is really worthy. In our case, Maria made a very complete explanation, in very good English (she also know a bit of Spanish) of what happened there that made us feel what happened there indeed.
It's a small hidden place, but with a great value to understand history of the Communist Romania.
They need to improve the visit, may be more furniture, clothing, mannequins, models, videos,... of that period. But they are in the good way and the guided tour was great.
Upbeat retail complex with brand-name stores & fast-food restaurants, plus a cinema, on 2 floors.
Good mall with two straight levels and plenty of outside parking. Not too big, but well designed. Good anchor tenants: Penny, H&M, C&A, Jysk, KiK, Pepco. Good food court with a good combination of food concepts: pizza, gyros, salads, noodles/rice dishes, cakes, gelatto etc. Nice view to the river from the food court area. Very nice newly renovated bathrooms on the level+1.

The ambiance and service were decent, but be cautious when ordering burgers. I asked for medium, and it came out well-done. If you're particular about how your burger is cooked, make sure to stress your preference when ordering. But be ready this might not help either :(

I was just to eat (Spartan, doesn't matter) and what I want to say is that the food court is underestimated, when is crowded you will end up eating standing up ( because there is no free table), in rest the food was very good.

2022-2024: It's winter already. Can you turn on the hot water in the bathrooms ? The tap water is ice cold...
Poor shopping mall. Very good location near the river, but unexploited. Level 1 terrace is horrible. Looks like a worn-out smoking area.
Same merchandise as in other places in town, only more expensive. Poor food options, whole food court in need of a renovation, renewal of style...

I recently visited VIVO! Pitești, and it instantly brought back a flood of nostalgic memories from my old days. It's amazing how certain places can hold such sentimental value and always manage to bring a smile to our faces.
VIVO! Pitești seems to be more than just a shopping and entertainment destination; it appears to be a hub of experiences and memories waiting to be made. The wide range of services and activities available for the whole family, which is truly commendable. It's refreshing to see a place that aims to provide the best customer experience and caters to all needs and tastes.
One aspect that caught my attention is the location of VIVO! Pitești. Although it may not be situated in the city center, but it offers a beautiful view of the river. This unique setting adds a touch of tranquility and natural beauty to the overall experience. It's a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of the city center and provides a serene backdrop for shopping and entertainment.
The concept of VIVO! Pitești is described as modern and urban, and it seems to have successfully captured the essence of contemporary lifestyles. It's impressive to see how this establishment has managed to create a space that caters to all needs and tastes. Whether you're looking for a shopping spree, a family outing, or simply a place to relax and unwind, VIVO! Pitești seems to have it all.
Overall, VIVO! Pitești lives up to its reputation as a popular shopping and entertainment destination in Argeș County, Romania.

Nice mall with a good selection of stores, restaurants, and a theater. Parking can be a little tight, and access to the mall is always very congested.

Variety of shops is fine but the gate experience makes me never want to visit this place ever again. The door shuts and people remain stuck. After pushing buttons to start them, the gatekeeper activates his prison behavior, talking to people like they're not actually your customers that pay a lot of money. Please train your gatekeepers to be kind to the people that leave their money in your mall and to actually do their job - making sure the door is working properly in the first place. Peace out!

Came here with 0 expectations, but was blown away by the fantastic restaurations of the mansion, park and old village cottages. The exterior village is the size of the one in Bucharest, Muzeul Satului in Herastrau Park. What made the visit even better was the low visitor count, this is not a well known attraction so there was room to breathe and enjoy.

Really nice place to go, only one hour from Bucharest. A lot nicer than the Village Museum in Bucharest. Houses are more taken care of, you can go inside them, display is amazing. The place is huge, there are a lot of fruit trees.
One of the best places to go on the weekend.

A really nice surprise, museum + nature + history. It's worth visiting especially for the outdoor museum that's quite big and filled with old traditional houses and old equipments. You get to see how people used to live as you can enter some houses and all the yards are available for visiting, will definitely recommended it.

Really nice experience: museum + nature+ history. Well maintained. We enjoyed walking around houses in the fields flowers. Not all houses was opened ( we have been in a week time). Playground for kids, possibility to ride a horse and a pony. If the kid would be bigger we could stay the whole day there. We did n9t find a restaurant.

Nice place to visit for a few hours. It's close to Bucharest via A1 so fast to get there. The mansion is very well preserved and the furniture looks genuine. There are 6 rooms that you can visit on the ground floor and although there is a ladder, one cannot access the upper floor.
There is also a huge garden transformed into a village museum which holds many village buildings some of which can be entered. Houses and the gardens of the houses are very well maintained.
There is a raiding center so if you're up for it you can ride a horse or a ponney. They also have a zip line (maybe aprox 70 meters)
Lack of nearby places to eat or diverse activities is a minus but overall worth the tine as the place is quiet and air is clean.

This tour was amazing. The staff was very friendly and professional. We had 6 people in our group and we're given 3 vehicles. All of them were well maintained and powerful. The tour took us on some pretty hardcore terrain and the pace was pretty fast, but we always felt very safe and in control. The views were amazing on the whole ride and driving the Polaris RZR was awesome as well. We ate at a restaurant in the mountains. We were fed a 4 course meal that was incredible. What a ride! I had the best time with this crew!! Really, you should check this out. They take full responsibility for your stay so you dont have to worry about anything. They made sure we stopped at great view spots, never were hungry or thirsty, to had a great time basically! We took 3 atv's for the trip, and they let me drive one of them! And about the mountains? There is nothing like this in my country cause of too many regulations when it comes to driving this powerful machine to the very top.. but in Romania, there is so much freedom, and the nature is untouched! See you soon Campulung ! :)

We went to Marconi-X today and rented a 4 seater side-by-side and went up into the mountains behind Campulung. It was amazing! All the staff spoke English and they were super nice and helpful. They drove in front of us as a guide and we stopped at all the good lookout points to take pictures. The views were incredible!! They even brought some awesome pastries to snack on at the top! I highly recommend these guys. Great prices and even better service.

Visitors to this restored 15th-century military fort can climb the tower's 122 steps for city views.
If you have not been, you need not be told. GO. This place has hundreds of years of history. There is a lot to see and a lot to learn. The top of the tower view is priceless. The caves are amazing, and very cold. The ruins are super interesting. Visit on of Dracula's homes. How many can say they've seen it? The entrance see if 15RON, not too expensive for how much history this place holds. Take the kids too.

Not much to see especially that the tower and church are being restored. The "Tiparului" museum is also uninteresting and poorly endowed. 12 RON entry fee is money for almost nothing

We passed by Târgoviște and the Tower on the way back home from Bucharest on Monday. It was supposed to be closed, but parking was readily available and free on the street, so we gave it a shot and surprisingly it was open. Tickets were 15RON per person, and we spent about an hour there. The tower was in great condition, and there was a little museum with written works from 100s of years ago that showcased the evolution of the Romanian language. Bathrooms were super clean too. Nice quiet historical place. Cheap tickets, easy parking. Great place to visit during a road trip break.

The tower itself looks really good as it has been renovated, even though it’s not that tall you can see the whole city from it’s top. The park surrounding it is really beautiful. If you have small children you can take them to the city’s zoo which is a 5 minute walk from the tower.
Boromir Cutezătoru’ — Google review
The impressive tower built in the 15th century, and later restored in the 19th century, is most likely the most famous landmark of Targoviste.
First used as a bell tower, then a watchtower and later as a clock tower, the 3 flights of stairs to reach the top makes the view of the whole city quite beautiful.
The entrance fee to the Old Courtyard was only 12 lei and the tower comes in the ticket.

Shaded park in a former palace garden, with monuments, a pond for paddle boating & an adjoining zoo.
well organized with a small recreational lake and very clean, with large green areas, suitable for outdoor walks but also in the vicinity of the remains of the "royal court" of the Wallachian principality

One of the nicest parks. This place has plenty to do for the entire family. From the lake, with water activities, to the calm and beautil stroll through the giant trees. Immediately attached is also a very nice zoom. The park has a lot of kid oriented activities. There is a playground, they have mechanical toys for kids, there is food and toys to purchase. This is certainly on my recommendation lists. The statues and history of this place demands a visit from kid, to adults.

The grounds are nice, and the tower at the end has a good view of the city. The main part of the court is largely in ruins, and not as impressive as the accompanying buildings, especially the larger of the two churches, as well as the tower. But the grounds are worth a visit, if you're into historical places.

There's nothing left of the Royal Court but a few walls in shambles. What I enjoyed about it was to see that it's getting funded for a full rebuild of how it once was.
The ticket was only 12 lei and it includes the Royal Court ruins, the Chindia Tower and the Printing Museum. You can easily spend up to one hour here just by walking, reading and visiting them all, which for 12 lei makes it pretty good.

Located 45 minutes from Bucharest, this palace is a must-stop if you travel west to Pitesti or the town of Targoviste. It is representative of the XVII century Romanian Brancovenesc architecture style. Only a few years ago the place was a total ruin. I believe that this place will become a 5 stars site after the finalization of the restoration works. Nevertheless....stop and see it.

It was a great experience overall! Attended a motorcycle safety training session and it was awesome. Highly recommend it to everyone from beginner to experienced bikers. The trainer , Razvan Radu, was really attentive and came with on the spot feedback to each of the trainees after all exercises. Even though it's a group course Razvan takes the time to discuss with each person, and makes sure you get better and better.

I had a very cool off road experience. The instructor was top notch. He shared a lot of useful information about the correct behavior of the people inside the car in respect to safety. I had done the impact simulator and the inverted car simulator. And to top it all at the end I had drove 3 cars ( 4x4 ) on hill and muddy terrain. It was by far the best adrenaline packed 3xperience I had. I can only thank Andrei the instructor for being such a good company and deliver such a great ratio of info combined with the live driving. Great experience, the room was quite tough to solve but it was very well thought out. The staff were nice and polite, and the price is what you normally expect from an escape room. It’s currently the only such location in Ploiesti, I hope it’s going to stay open for some time! I definitely recommend the experience to anyone interested!

Honestly truly great. We played in the challenge and it was honestly a lot of fun. It went relatively smoothly, despite how large our group was, and also making it interactive despite that can’t have been easy, but they managed. Despite the challenge being linear, there’s plenty of ways to dig yourself out and tools to use to pull ahead of the competing team.
Can’t go wrong. 5/5.
Bancy — Google review
One of the most interesting and exciting escape experience. They also have actors for some of the rooms here, the help during the play is kind of scary cause they use a voice scrambler. All of it spiced with adrenaline and a very unique mood setting. If you think you can do it, just stay at Hotel Inferno. Creepy and exiting
alexandra ilcea — Google review
Very interesting escape room, with a lot of hidden details, and a very nice theme. Would recommend to have at least 4 ppl to play with. The “actor” scare is not for the faint of heart, so choose carefully. Had a blast, 5/5 experience.

Awesome experience! We went for Arsene Lupin room in 2 as a couple and we had lots of fun. We got some hints when we asked for them, but only enough so that the fun was not spoiled.
The host is very passionate and knowledgeable which made the experience even better. We ll definitely come back for the other rooms.

We loved the experience, the staff is fun and chatty, it’s obvious from their excitement and involvement that they really put their heart and soul into building these experiences. Our first room was Arsene’s heist and loved the wit and the diversity of the puzzles, very smart execution, will definitely come back.
Letitia — Google review
Great experience with both Hotel Inferno and Arsene Lupin, the rooms are VERY well built and designed, following their respective themes down to the smallest detail. Even without real actors, Hotel Inferno will make you doubt that the story is not real and constantly urge you to find your way out.
The game master was also one of the best we had, she helped with the mood and story in both rooms even when the puzzles were trickier or outsmarting us.
Overall, if you want to raise your adrenaline levels and also feel your brain cells work in overdrive, play the rooms here - everything is top quality, thank you for having us!
Full of history place. When you enter there you feeling like traveling back in time. There is a lot of personal stuff gained of Caragiale. I fully recommend this place.
Dan Ionescu — Google review
The museum has personal things that belonged to Caragiale, photos and costumes related with theatre plays. But it's an old fashioned museum, nothing interactive or multimedia, with sound, stories, screen plays... It should be updated and the house renovated. The house didn't belonged to Caragiale, it was the mayor's of Ploiesti.
Paula Licu — Google review
Amazing staff! Great original pictures and documents related to the master. I left with a lot more information after: he never owned a house, always rented and had better grades in Maths than in Literature.
Julian — Google review
Caragiale never owned this place, but he lived in rented places for most of his life. The guide was very nice and there are unique pieces to see such as, allegedly, an original photo of Eminescu. The house is small but very nice.
Winged — Google review
It would be a shame not to visit a museum dedicated to one of the most well known (and rightfully so) personalities of Romanian literature in order to learn more about Caragiale and his cultural background, his time spent in the city and even see some of his personal belongings.
Stroie Razvan — Google review
A must see destination for those who enjoy knowing a bit of Ploiești's history. Ion Luca Caragiale was the nation's foremost playwright and short story writer and Ploiești was his stomping ground and inspiration for social satire.
Alexandru Zaharia — Google review
I liked the museum but it was a bit smaller than I expected,so that's why I'm giving it a 4 star rate, but everything else was really nice and interesting, because you can learn what he wrote and what were his teachings
Victor Andrei — Google review
Only 4 stars, because its to small :) But the lady host is great, she tells you a lot of stories! A nice experience for a rainy afternoon
So it was a hot weekend but rather than drinking 4 beers in a pub we decided to enjoy the first escape room in Ploiesti. So we booked it a day earlier. What can I say... an intensive experience. Many locks, many secret puzzles to solve and a fascinating game play. We were a team of three people, but in order to fullfil all the task with no time pressure, I think that the best configuration is of 4 people. (If you are not experienced with this type of game). The guys were funny too and they managed to entertain us with a good story.
Personal favourite thing: It would be a spoiler. But it was one of the boxes that fascinated me.
Bad: Not that bad but a thing to improve is that for the moment all the hints were written only in Romanian, so I think they should definitely have an English version available too. (Not sure if they have it for the moment)
Good: I didn't feel the time passing by so definitely that has to say a lot about the fun I had.
From a range of 1 to 5:
Atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fun: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Team: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Claudiu Jitaru — Google review
We had a really good time at X3M Real Escape Room!
What I liked most about this highly intense one-hour experience is the fact that it challenges you on so many levels that you actually come to take it seriously in less than 5 minutes. As a team of three, belonging to different age groups, we were faced to lots of unpredictable situations that aimed at a wide variety of skills: logic, creativity, handiness, the ability to communicate efficiently to others, the spirit of initiative, working under pressure and so on. (For instance, the number of tools we started the game with were limited, so we had to share them).
Perhaps that is why I personally felt teleported on a real pirate ship for a while, although I must say it was quite a fancy ship....I'm pretty sure the organisers' enthusiasm played its part, as they were constantly following our scenario and motivated us to avoid the slavery.
Another thing that I appreciated regarding them is that once we ran out of time, we received a thorough feedback on our performance, were told how other people reacted to the same tasks and how they should actually be approached. All in all, it's a good lesson taught in a very catchy manner.
Also, if you like playing board games you'll definitely like it.

The main road is cracked in so many places it's a wonder people (especially cyclists) don't fall in the lake.
Barely any open sports/fitness/calisthenics areas (which is something missing considering the size of the park).

The biggest park in Bucharest! We have enjoyed strolling throughout the park. One may choose to avail the bike rentals but be careful as the bike lanes are allotted in between pedestrian lanes. There are plenty of kiosks to buy local and commercial ice creams, baked goods and drinks. Likewise many restaurants to choose from. Nice view by the lake definitely! It can be crowded in the evening as many families spend time here. Some part of the park requires better maintenance otherwise really beautiful. You can rent a private paddling boat or just buy a ticket for 15 Lei for a 25 minute boat ride like we did because the weather was too hot. You'll better appreciate the place with this short boat tour but no audio guide available. We had late lunch at a big and busy restaurant calles Beraria. There are oftentimes a big event happening here during summer. Though we were surprised how the staffs acted efficiently and they all spoke fluent English as communication for locals was a huge problem in many places. We spend time here pleasurably by visiting at the last moment the the National village museum located also just near the park. An entrance fee of 15 lei for adults. We went there about 1hr before closing time (19:00) which is not enough. Better allot about 2 to 2.5 hours when visiting this museum. Worth the visit!

The Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum is an open-air museum in Bucharest that features traditional Romanian village life from the 16th and 17th centuries. The collection spans more than 300 buildings, including peasant homes, barns, churches, mills, and other tools and accessories used by rural villagers. The museum is located within the Herastrau Park alongside a picturesque lake.
Very beautiful. You can tour through all the old houses and you can realize from the way and the houses they lived, how they thought of Life. You can also understand how short people they were, by the very small doors and short beds and chairs. They were simple. Only the necessary, next to a beautiful river. Great view.

On a beautiful spring day or a mild summer day, the village museum must be visited ... Whether you are from Bucharest or just passing through, don't miss it! Erm, wow! Lots of village structures from various parts of Romania and different ages. You can see inside a few of them and some are closed off and just the outside. If you are lucky to get nice weather it’s fab to have a wander for a couple of hours and wonder as the similarities and differences in building structures from your own country. It was unexpected how many buildings there would be. Despite it being the weekend it did not feel crowded. Nice stalls of people selling local crafts or homemade jams, biscuits. Some souvenirs in the shop were more reasonable than the city. Entry price of 30 lei is fair in my view. Note there is no cloakroom so visit on a day when you don’t have too much stuff!
Hui Xiang Liu — Google review
The place is beautiful but the diversity of some specific activities are missing. The biggest downside is the fact that a lot of houses are closed and cannot be visited considering that this is not mentioned anywhere. i would ask for a refund but I wasn't able to find the person from the reception. Interesting for a first timer but other than that I would not recommend visiting the place. There are also some shops with great home made jars of different foods, sweets or clothes, but that is everything.

We went there on Thursday an hour before it closed. There was free parking space right in front of the entrance. We used a student discount so a ticket was 8 lei. The houses inside are great, a lot of info to read and see. You can spend 1-2hours easily. We spent an hour inside but managed to see only half of it before we were asked to head to the exit since it was almost closing time. The staff was friendly and the ticket lady knew a bit of English so the service was nice. Cheap for such a great museum. Bear in mind that you need to go in sunny weather since it’s all outside.

It’s in a huge park, be prepared for easy walking through a beautiful spot. Come prepared with a picnic or eat at the (average bit well priced) on site place. loved it. There’s also lots of brilliant handicrafts to buy, you’ll be buying direct from the people who made them. Totally recommend.

Fascinating place, unlike any other museum. They brought traditional homes and farms from all over the country to be maintained and kept intact here, so you can walk around outdoors and see how people lived all over Romania. A lot of friendly kitties just wandering about this beautifully kept, peaceful museum. ❤️
A very good place to start if you want to connect with our traditional Romanian spirit. :) You can get a sense of how we used to live, how the household was managed and what elements are so particular to our traditional countryside landscape. Truly appreciate how well kept everything is!
Lovers of cats and architecture surely need to come here.
Remember to stop at the souvenir shop.
Here you can find so many handmade pieces, crafted by local artisans.
Support local craftsmanship by taking home their art! ❤️

A wonderful open-air museum featuring traditional houses from the Romanian countryside. This outdoor museum includes more than 300 buildings representing the history of Roman’s rural architecture.
An amazing idea as it combines the idea of walking in a beautiful park that ends with a picturesque lake; on the sides of the park you can see heritage buildings arranged in a museum display manner.
Believe me, you will spend some lovely time with your family or friends and it will be one of the favorite visits for the kids.

One of my favourite places to spend some time in Bucharest! It brings childhood memories and it reminds me of the way my grandparents were living. It's a peaceful place where you can also find local tasty products in the weekends. It's definitely worth visiting!

Great experience! Lovely to visit traditional style buildings from different parts of the country and to learn a bit about the history. Nice place to go on a hot day as the museum is located in the shade of Herastrau park. Make sure that you go right from the entry of the museum as many people like myself tend to go left and miss an entire village on the right. Some of the buildings doors were locked. We'd wish they were open to visit them inside as they were decorated . Do not recommend the restaurant inside as a bottle of water costs 3 times the normal price. 😉

A lot of interesting historical and ethnographic information. It's a bit like a time travel. You will need at least 2 hours, if you want to see the exhibition- more, if you want to see everything detailed. But, if you stop to say "hi" to the cats living there, maybe more :)) It was a wonderful experience. The whole place is lovely. I warmly recommend.

The museum provides a wonderful insight into the evolution of the living environment in the past centuries. Lots to explore and learn about for young and old. Nice little vendors everywhere with honey and other knick knacks to buy as souvenirs. Great way to spend a few hours learning about Romanian country living.

Beautiful place to see old traditional Romanian houses and wind mills. There are planty cats around here. Kid friendly environment. You can find a cafe for drinks. Enjoy the lake view. Should not take more than 1-1.5 hour.

I can’t believe this is my first review of this museum - I have visited it tens of times simply because it has been my favourite for the past 10 years. I take any chance to visit it, in any season. Whenever i miss feeling connected to the Romanian village (I grew up in the countryside for a part of my childhood) I go visit for at least an hour, lay in the grass, walk barefoot, sit on a porch and enjoy the beauty of the places.
There are tens of houses from almost all across Romania.

Really cool open air museum in Bucharest! Really nice if you want to do something touristy without a crowd. You can learn a lot about the different types of dwellings Romanian people have lived in. Plus there is a lot of friendly cats around that you can pet! Entrance fee was very cheap and reasonable.

The entire Romanian villages tradition in one Museum. Magnific! I highly recommend to visit Dimitri Gusti National Village Museum! You have to visit starting with May because before that date the inside of the houses are closed to the visitors. Starting with May the doors are open and you can comprehend better the Romanian Village culture! Highly recommend!

This is a lovely place to walk around, with paths overlooking the lake, and it's a great place to get delicious snacks and local crafts like the gorgeous decorated eggs. However, the display houses are not being maintained well, and there are no longer any traditional interiors of furniture, clothing, tools, etc. If you want a pleasant stroll or a place where your children can run about, this rates 4 or even 5 stars, but the historical content was disappointingly scanty.
Tina Freeman — Google review
Definitely a must do if you’re into history, love buildings, and it’s nice outside. You can spend a couple hours just walking around and taking photos.
Plus, they have cats!!! The downside, the cats were not super friendly and just wanted to roll around in the sand. If there were a separate star rating for the cats they would get only ⭐️⭐️.

Beautiful outdoor museum with buildings from all over Romania. It is situated right by a huge park with a lake, so the surroundings are gorgeous. The restaurant within the museum was overpriced and the food was not great at all. But in total, it is definitely a place worth visiting.

Amazing place to visit just inside Bucharest, near the biggest park of the city : Park of the king. The museum is a rebuilt of houses from different villages of Romania and you can admire how different culture and different availability of materials impact life inside the country in the past. Totally suggested to visit, also because you can go inside some houses and you can see items used day by day during the respective era. Nice attraction to do with the family. It like walking through the history of the country.

The Arcul de Triumf, also known as the Arch of Triumph, is a monumental arch located in Bucharest, Romania. The arch was originally built to commemorate Romanias independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1878, but was rebuilt after WWI. The arch is now located at the entrance to Herastrau Park, and is decorated with sculptures by Romanian artists like Constantin Medrea, Constantin Baraschi and Ion Jalea.
Very impressive piece of neoclassical design. . The original arch quuckly was constructed of wood to celebrate Romania's independence. This version is closely based on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

It's one of the most beautiful monuments of Bucharest and a great meaning for Romanians. You can visit it for free. While you take the stairs to the top you can also see some expositions inside of it in small rooms and along the stairs.
From the top you have an amazing view above the city.

With a hight of 27 meters, it is one of the must see when in Bucharest. Recently renovated it is a great place to take photos and to walk by since it is located next to the park. During the night it is well lit.
If you want to get in you can do it from June til October during the weekend between 14:00 and 21:00.

Arcul de Triumf is a triumphal arch located on the Kiseleff Road, in the northern part of Bucharest, Romania.
The monument was built from 1921 to 1922, renovated from 1935 to 1936, and renovated again starting in 2014. It commemorates Romania's victory in World War I.
It resembles the monument in Paris and is considered one of the tourist attractions that attract visitors to visit it and take souvenir photos.

Access to the structure is not easy as it is in the middle of a roundabout but worth the effort...The stairs to the top was closed for Christmas but that didn't bother me..Looks good lit up at night

Sweetspot for Bucharest's mid-century panorama lovers, now a mild 4-stories hike in the middle of lush greenery. Could be way better prepared on the inside, with less nationalist pathos and more history facts, still a nice sightseeing spot.

Great Romanian history for a little over a century! From the top you have a great view of Kisselef Boulevard, the House of the free Press and King Michael the First (Herestrau) Park. The hockey stadium is also there so you can take a glance :)

Good landmark to see Bucharest from the top. You can go on the top for free, however, it seems to be possible only during the weekend. To reach the place, you have to go from the side walk and cross with red lights, it’s way safer.

A beautifully crafted Monument that reminds us of Romanian's Honour, Glory and Unity. It is a Master Piece, constructed with the purpose to inspire all the Generations to come, starting from 1921-1922(Building years).

In Bucharest's embrace so wide,
Arcul de Triumf stands with pride.
Neoclassical beauty, strong and tall,
A monument that enthralls us all.
Soldiers' valor it does proclaim,
Inscribed in history, etched in fame.
Through conflicts and time, it endures,
A symbol of courage that assures.
Doric and Corinthian grace,
In this timeless, sacred space.
From its arch, the city gleams,
In its shadow, dreams take streams.
Bucharest's heart, a sight to behold,
Arcul de Triumf, a story untold.
In its grandeur, we find our way,
A beacon of hope that forever will stay.

An interesting site identical to the Arc d’triumph in Paris. It is an interesting site to pass and view when driving from the airport to the city centre but it isn’t really worth making a trip out just to see it.

The Grigore Antipa National Museum of Natural History is a museum that showcases a variety of exhibits related to natural history, including dinosaur fossils and minerals, plants and animals native to Romania. It also has a large butterfly collection. The museum was established in 1834 and is named after Romanians best known biologist, Grigori Antipa.
Nice place to bring your kid. My 8 years old was full of enthusiasm. 20 lei a ticket for an adult and 5 lei for children.

Great experience for children of all ages. The museum has been refurbished some four five years ago and is much more interesting. It's a window on nature and past times and natural history.
It's got some exhibits for visually impaired people and Braille explanations. Also, not pricy.

Wonderful museum. Average visit duration is about one hour, the place is bigger than I expected. Covers a lot of land, marine and air species. Suitable for kids.
Loved the real species on display in jars, hundreds of them, big and small.
Price is very affordable and great for what you get in return. During weekdays there is no queue, very few people inside

A nice museum to spend some time. Definitely not 3 hours like some people say expect if you want to read every single label about every single stuffed animal plus to take it a photo. In general we enjoyed it and took us around an hour maximum. The ticket price is 4 euro for adults. If you have kids with you for sure they are gonna enjoy it.

Kids loved the dioramas of different animals, and the basement ones showing Romanian bio regions were particularly good. Section on rocks was a bit short and more education and explanation (in Romanian, let alone English) would have been good. Finally gift shop was 100% child oriented (fine for children) but not very Romanian oriented. No Romanian natural history books that I could see.

Brilliant museum with animals from all time periods and places. Good prices wit discounts for students. It took me around 1.5hrs to 2hrs to get around the whole place.
Note - I paid extra to go into the reptilian exhibition. It's not really worth it.

It's a nice museum but I was expecting much more dinosaur skeletons and stuff like that. Most expositions in here are realistic replicas made of plastic and other materials like that

It's a great place to see, especially with children. They have a lot to learn and it generates interesting conversations but unfortunately it lacks the interactive aspect i would expect to find in such a museum. Worth the while 🙂 I especially liked the cave .

In the museum, you move from one environment to another, you get to know different animals.. and also you move from the era of dinosaurs to the current times.. there is a section of precious stones within the section of geology .. and many, many more .. I personally enjoyed a lot .. but it is more suitable for children …

The line can be hours long on the weekends so be careful which day you choose to go. The ticket was very affordable and I would recommend to get the ticket with the entry to all of the different sections. It’s a big museum to go through and so interesting!
Great for kids and for adults as it’s beautiful to spend an hour or two learning facts about the beauty of nature.

A very cool and interesting museum. All figures of animals, birds and marine inhabitants are made in such detail, it is incredible. I think it is the most beautiful museum that exhibits frozen animals. We waited 20 minutes at the entrance and it was worth it. We really liked the family interior. definitely deserves its money. The government office Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is a massive and ornate building, which also houses Romanias Parliament. It was significantly expensive to construct, and many people died during its construction in the 1980s. It is now one of the top tourist attractions in Bucharest, and is a popular location for weddings.
Definitely recommend the tour. I was skeptical, but it was worth it. Calling ahead to book is a must! We saw lots of people get turned away who showed up without a booking. Call the day before, and call early when they open. Don’t waste money through a tour service - just call the palace directly.
The history of the palace isn’t very happy, but the building is truly impressive. Pictures do not do the palace justice. It’s so incredibly huge. Our tour guide, Francisc L was fantastic. If you have him, you’ll be in great hands.

This is an immense structure, second only in mass to the Pentagon. It was the result of extreme ambition. Several churches were literally wheeled away by clever and determined engineers, to protect them from the destruction this project wrought, in response to the desire of people determined to hold on to their community heritage. The building is huge, extravagant and very quirky. It is heavily clad in marble, adorned generously with flamboyant chandeliers, and much decoration, with leather and hardwood furnishings, and elaborate ceilings. No doubt there are many secret corners and passageways.

Very interesting and impressing building. Hard to miss when you're visit Bucharest. I've only seen it from the outside, from what I've read online getting in is a big hassle. There's a huge parking nearby which is super convenient.

Parliament of Bucharest is the heaviest building on this planet and second largest administrative building in the world after Pentagon. They have official guided tours but the bookings need to be done in advance by calling them as the slots are very limited. Bookings start a day prior only. The guided tour was pretty good and explained many facts about Romanian political history and some interesting facts related to the construction and history of the building. I would definitely recommend this when in Romania.

I think it's one of those must-do experiences; it's quite different from visiting a museum or other attractions. Usually, all tours come with a guide, which is quite informative. Make sure you take your passport with you, the tour lasts about an hour.

A nice historic place of Bucharest, unfortunately the tours are done by the government so there's not much else to learn then kubic meters of a and liters of b. I suggest doing some reading before going in there, there's lots of interesting things to learn about it which the tour won't tell you. The place looks great, is well maintained and getting in is fairly easy

One of he most interesting place to visit in Buchurest. The building is huge and I think it is the second largest in the world.
Impressive interior with one huge room after another including monumental staircases and reception halls, many beautifully decorated. The Building's interior is simply stunning. All the chandeliers and carpets in here are beautiful. All the floors and walls are marble. Worth visiting!

No visit to Bucharest could be complete without visiting this absolute monster of a building. You can boggle your brain with the facts and stats - Google it, you’ll be amazed! - and make sure you book a tour (do it online to book a slot). The hideous history and austere exterior conceal a frankly gobsmackingly opulent interior. Our guide was remarkably witty, informed and thorough (if a little scary!) Don’t miss this. It’s a knockout.
Steve Shields — Google review
The Palace of Parliament in Bucharest is a testament to human ambition and architectural brilliance! If the world were under attack tomorrow, this behemoth would be my safe haven. Its history is a mind-bending journey, and while the view from outside is majestic, the interiors offer a breathtaking panorama that leaves one in awe. 😍 As someone who passionately shapes bodies and minds as an international remote personal trainer and life coach, I'm not typically the tourist type. Yet, for this monument, I highly recommend strapping on that fanny pack, grabbing your camera, and diving deep into its wonders. For those looking to align their body and spirit to match the grandeur of such places, I'm here to guide. Remember to have your passport for entry and to always aim for personal greatness just as this building does for architecture. 📸🏛️💼💪🏼

Very interesting visit, you get to know more about the history of Romania and the incredible background of this building. It is HUGE (the second largest in the world) and you will visit only some of the thousands rooms it encompasses on 9 floors.
To be able to visit, you need to book one day in advance by calling. On the day of the visit, come 10min in advance in order to take your ticket without stress. You also have some clean toilets if you need to go before visiting.
The whole visit is guided, you need to stay in the group. Our guide was adorable, funny and easy to listen to. The visit lasted ~1h.

This building is a must for those visiting Bucharest and surely for those who want to understand the contemporary history of Romania. Tours are guided by English speaking guides who are knowledgeable. In our case the guide was just repeating by heart the script of the tour, but it was still enough. Despite the low number of spaces they let you visit, the quality (and size) of those is beyond normal. Highly recommended.

We only saw it from outside (and inside just the first room you enter, basically the reception) but it was still very impressive!! We already knew the building is huge obviously, but it was still crazy to see it live. Definitely a must visit!

This building is spectacular. The photos don’t do its monumental size justice. I walked around the entire perimeter and it took around 30mins highlighting the size of it. Was great to be able to experience it. There was a-lot of construction and renovation on the sides and back but you were still able to enter. Be weary of times to enter inside if travelling there as weekends has condensed hours.
Hope this is helpful (June 2023)

Visited this as a tourist to see what it looked like. We typed in on google which ended up taking us to the entrance where a guard was we asked nicely how do we view the building from the front to which he got very rude and said you can’t and need a reservation I explained I just want to see it from outside. In the end we walked around and did get to see it so be warned if you go

It is said to be in the second place after the pentagon in size. Tour guides specify the features of each hall, which is very entertaining, and if they have extra features such as acoustics, they have them checked while they are in the hall. They objectively describe the events that took place while the building was being built. The tour was really fun, it took about 1 hour, but we couldn't understand how it went. I'm sure you'll get dizzy looking at the marbles inside. As the tour guide said, if there was more marble, it would have more rooms.
Fatih Cerit — Google review
The palace is interesting and a must-visit to understand Romanian history. The guide Alina did a great job, but the reception staff are otherwise so-so. The lobby area could look a lot nicer (looks ugly with paper everywhere) and the waiting area and parts of the palace smell like sewage for some reason, so this could be improved. 5 of 9 halls were available for viewing only. It is a must to book in advance and take your passport - this is not explained well and I’m sure it frustrates a lot of visitors. I recommend the House of Ceausescu a lot more.

I’m convinced that it’s a must see if you visit Romania for the first time.
Tons of marble, crystals and woolen carpets all around you.
But I rate 3 stars only for one reason: there are lots of guided tours you can find in the internet. The main difference I found is tour duration: either 1 or 1,5 h. There are options that you can find twice more expensive than others - which doesn’t make any sense at all. Tour is guided by the parliament employers, so there’s no extra value added.
About the tour itself: I feel that half of the information was about costs. How much do they spend yearly, less about history or architecture.

This place is incredible. Only 5% of it is visitable and it was huge.
The rooms are big and stunningly decorated thorough carpets, curtains and fantastic chandelier.

The guide was really interesting and gave us lots of insights about this palace.
Described as a tranquil English-style park with a lake, rose garden and pavilion, Cișmigiu Gardens is a popular destination in the capital. The park features a variety of different plants and trees sourced from all around Europe, making it a great place to relax after exploring Bucharest's vibrant Old Centre. In the summer, visitors can navigate the lakeshore on rowboats or take skating lessons on its frozen surface.
Part of traveling is stumbling upon these public parks that offer so much and yet ask for so little in return. Beautiful tree-lined walkways that stretch for a few miles with the incredible numbers of available benches in every corner! I got to sit and observe the many serene faces of people of all ages as they either sit contentedly alone or interacting with others. There’s a decent sized lake at this park, and the soothing breezes around this time of year made me want to fall asleep on one of those benches.

I enjoyed my visit at Cismigiu and I have to modify the review, because in spring is really better. During the winter the park was really sad and not really well kept.
Now there are lot of flowers and there is also the possibility to walk around the lake.

Definitely looks like a nice park. There was some renovation work so the water in under the bridge was dried up so you can’t get that beauty from that part as shown in the pictures. Otherwise it’s a nice place to see and have some peaceful time. There’s playground for kids too!

It's quite a nice park in the middle of the city, having some pretty good greenery, alleys, nice benches and even small spaces for children to play or adults to exercise.
Although the water has been drained for repairs i think, it's one very good for walking/running/exercising/relaxing park.

I was on the park in the winter, and as any park in the winter is difficult to gauge how now it looks. But even in the winter weekend, the park was packed people walking around, kids, etc... So even in the winter is a good place for a walk and relax from the busy day to day life.

There are playgrounds for children, cafes. It is true that there are a lot of people, as it is Sunday and there are no seats at the tables, but it is not a problem, you can take a drink and sit next to the benches.

Nice garden for walks or runs. Beautifully maintained. Don’t know why the water in the lake/stream was dried. Looked ugly because of that. I’ve seen pics of the park where the lake has water. But since I was there during the beginning of winter, maybe that was the reason of the dried lake. The park still had beautiful and large area of greenery though.

It’s a funny park, not that far from Lipscani. Would recommend having a quick look around. There are a LOT of benches. You can also have some drinks in the parks and there are some popcorn and ice cream stands. I saw a lot of people having a picnic here and there is also a small lake. Enjoy!

Beautiful park with lots of walking space/paths and tons to see! We decided to do the paddle boats on the lake (bring sunscreen) and would recommend if you want something fun to do! We did it on a day where it was way too hot so save that activity for when it’s under 80 degrees. Make sure to walk the entire park and visit the small waterfall!

This park blends old and new vibes, giving you a nostalgic feel. While the online photos showcase lush greenery and blossoms, I found the actual garden lacking in such abundant flora. Some parts seem a bit neglected, like the chopped tree and worn-out benches. Still, it's a pleasant place for a stroll, with ancient sections and several beautiful statues. Kids will enjoy the playgrounds, and there's even an ice skating center. The garden evokes nostalgia, as it has been a cherished destination for generations of families.

An interesting park and garden just outside the city centre. There are a collection of sites throughout the park but a lot of the features have been left to degrade and haven’t really been looked after recently. The waterbody within the park is also empty and has been left to become waste. If you have time and the weather is nice you can walk through the park but it isn’t somewhere to seek out when in Bucharest.

I visited again after a very long time. The park was cleaner than I remembered, I really was impressed.
The old trees are very beautiful and is a relaxing place, a good option for a walk.

The most beautiful park in Bucharest.
It includes a lots of artistic objects, statues and monuments, kind of a maze.
Water are flowing in a relaxed manner, with cute ducks, there are a lots of benches and seats in the area.

In spring, it's an amazing place to admire snowdrops everywhere! So "kind" and fragile, but yet so strong.
It is a quiet park, full of green 💚 with lots of alleys to walk on and listen to birds singing.
Cristina Chirila — Google review
A big park, with different areas for children of all ages. Visited in winter, so refreshments were limited. There is a skating rink in winter. The "lake" area looked sadly neglected, but overall a great place to spend some time away from shopping.

A beautiful park but not the cleanest.
We enjoyed our boat ride there although it did not feel the safest or the cleanest.
It’s nice to walk around as it’s not a very small park!

The Romanian National Museum of Art is home to a world-class collection of Romanian art, from medieval to modern times. The museum's European galleries contain works by some of the greatest names in art history, such as Lucas Cranach the Elder and Jan van Eyck. The museum also houses a rich collection of Romanian medieval art and modern Romanian art.
1 ticket entry for 3 galleries. There are many stairs. Ask for an elevator. I was not able to visit history gallery. Got tired. Very small gift shop where you buy ticket. No cafe Lots of available toilets. This place is great!!! recommend!!!

The pictures I added are only from the European Art section. I'll write another review for the Romanian Art section, which I am in awe of.
I really enjoyed the European Art museum, especially the fact that they had a copy of a painting (first picture) sculpted to be able to be felt by people whose sight is limited (see the second picture). I'm glad some museums find ways to be inclusive.
Personally, my favorites were the sculptures that evoked human emotions very well. The paintings were either oil paintings or acrylics, and I'm glad there was a wide variety in terms of the century they were drawn in, as well as the style (Medieval, Renaissance, Impressionism, Surrealism).
Make sure to consult the website, as they close certain parts of the expositions quite often to add/remove paintings that are transported to international art museums.
Also, I don't recommend going when there is a public holiday day in Romania. It will most likely be very crowded and I don't find it very enjoyable to go to a museum with high traffic, as I feel the need to rush.
The photography fee only applies to (semi-)professional photography devices. Either way, flash is not allowed by anyone, since it damages the internal structure of the paintings. I approached the oldest ones, and I can tell you some of their canvas/painting were clearly deteriorated by time. Let's make an effort together and keep the treasure of art intact for as long as possible, no matter where it is and who made it.

Probably one of the most beautiful buildings in this city, with so many art exhibits from around the world. Staff is super kind and friendly.
It's a must visit if you're in Bucharest. Get ready to stay for at least 2hrs if you want to see it all.
Ticket price was 32 lei at the time of visit. Might change so make sure to check their website. No wait time.

This museum is huuuge! Take time if you want to properly visit all the galleries. It's awesome that if you take one of their packages you have access to visiting for 7 days. Being the type that admires every piece individually it took me about 3 days hahaa. Also the staff is very kind and helpful, thanks to the great lady in the European section that encouraged me to take pictures of whatever I like - you don't see that everyday!

There are a lot of paintings, clothes, ornaments and other things of christian theme. Definitely give it a visit if you're into this kind of things. Multiple different schools are represented on different floors so you can feel the difference. Among the other things, Spanish school space is very hot. Literally. Not sure if paintings are feeling better in a climate similar to a home one :)

Very beautiful building, great visit for anyone interested in art. The interior is great to see too, a few marble staircases etc. The Romanian history wing was nice and a bit more dynamic as it had different types of artefacts that were pretty impressive. However in July, inside it was so stuffy and hot. No air flow or fresh air. There were fans and portable airco’s that did nothing unless you stood right in front of them. It ruined the experience. You had to ask for a small brochure with map and it cost 1 lei. There are enough bathrooms. And there are curators in each room if you have questions.

Very nice palace! worth to visit! I only saw the European Exhibition and I want to come back for the Romanian Exhibition and The Throne Room. I was also with my kids, but not their style because most of the European paintings were with religion themes.

I like the temporary exhibitions lately. It costs 20 RON. This summer the paintings of Nicolae Grigorescu (1838 - 1907) are displayed. He was the founder of the modern Romanian painting.
Beside his paintings, he was also a beautiful man - as I was told and saw in some photos.
His portraits are all filled with melancholy (this is how I feel them), but in the eyes of his subjects there is also hope, life, innocence - marked by a little white dot in the irises of the girls he painted.
Most of the frames on his paintings were ordered by him from France. My paintings from home have similar frames, so they remind me a lot of childhood and peace.
The well known "Car cu 4 boi" aka "Car(ul) cu boi" was so much bigger than expected. I have a little copy at home which gave me the impression that the original shouldn't be much bigger.
Nicolae Grigorescu had a white ox called Ghiocel - meaning Snowdrop. He did a lot of sketches and paintings with him, but these are back to the memorial museum in Câmpina.
There are some photos (ex. Iosif Berman's) from that time and also costumes and traditional items from his period which also displayed the rural life of Romania in the passage between the XIXth century and the XXth.
Why do I give 4 stars: because on some paintings the lights above make a shadow on them. No postcards with his paintings - in general, few postcards at the entrance.
Nicolae Grigorescu's paintings left me with at least two things that come to me off the top of my head:
- the more grounded understanding of the progress all people made in a 100 years
- I feel like what he painted is true and corresponds with what I see in people: a kind of beauty that will never fade away. It reminds me at the same time of Nicolae Steinhardt's translation of Baudelaire's words: "Frumusețea nu este altceva decât făgăduința fericirii" - "Beauty is nothing but the promise of happiness".

The third door from the left is where they preserved the palace as it was, other doors lead to museums now. And there is an amazing painting (not sure it is the right name) on the ceiling of the palace! The man working at the entrance to the palace part was very kind and friendly, spoke English very well unlike in other parts of the museums, told us about the history of the palace. It was definitely our favorite part! We got tickets for all three museums: 40 lei adult ticket and 10 lei student ticket. We got tickets at the ticket office behind the first door on the left right before entering and they work for 7 days. The paintings in other doors also deserve some attention. Plan at least 2,5 hours for this place if you want to see the paintings, sculptures and clothes in other halls as well!

The National Museum of Art of Romania is made of three sections. The national gallery (Romanian art), the European art gallery( French, Spanish, Dutch and italians paintings), and the Royal Place, which used to be a home of the Royal family before communism. The ticket for all museum sections cost 60 RON. The overall experience was amazing. Great collections of arts and sculptures. A must go to place in Bucharest. One thing i must mention about the old ladies in the European art gallery, they are very friendly and helpful. I was about to miss the French collection, but one lady told me that I missed it.

Very nice experience , beautiful gallery with a lot of great works. The European exhibition is ok , not the best not the worst , the Romanian art exhibition is what surprised me tho. Lots of styles and colors , you should definitely go there first.

We visited the Historical section of the museum. The architecture alone makes it such a worthwhile visit when in bucharest. The information boards were really interesting and detailed in explaining the history behind the paintings as well. It was a shame there was no English translation for the information but they do offer tour guides for a cost. Overall it is a short but very fascinating experience.

We only had time to visit one museum/gallery during our weekend in Bucharest and with so many to choose from, we were worried we’d choose wrong. We didn’t! This building and all its contents are absolutely mesmerising. We spent over two hours looking at all of the paintings and sculptures and didn’t even feel the time pass. Security guard was also very nice directing us where to put our bag and when I got lost in the modern art exhibition a kind employee redirected me, which I’m thankful for because I had started at the end! The flow of the gallery is amazing too so much thought and time has gone into it and the building itself, even down to the colours they chose for the walls of each different time frame or artist were exquisite. We bought a ticket that gave us entry into all three museums (national, modern and European) for 40 lei (about £14) so it was also amazing value for money. Definitely worth a trip if you’ve got the time!

A lot of beautiful things to see. Some of the European Art Gallery was unavailable. I think some of the rooms have a strange wall colour (red, purple) or lighting choice in the Medieval Art section, but other than that, it should be seen by all who come to Bucharest.

Very beautiful museum especially the galleria natiolana’s last two floors. The tickets are cheap considering the amount of art you can see.
The eastern orthodox church Stavropoleos Monastery Church is a beautiful and atmospheric building, with beautiful hand-painted frescoes and ornate portals. It is situated in the city's party district, full of loud bars and terraces, but its calm atmosphere makes it a great place to rest after a busy day. The choir rehearsals or mass can be quite hypnotizing if you happen to be listening while they are happening!
Very nice old church with interesting history behind it. Over the years it was renovated and it is still functional

Hidden gem in Bucharest old town. Built in the Brancoveanu style, used to be a monastery, but now is a church. The church itself is still in use. It still has a feeling of old times and strong spirituality.
The architecture and the paintings are gorgeous and are worth a visit.

One of the most interesting places in the Old Town. This church not only has survived to earthquakes but also the systematization planned and carried out by the Romanian Communist Party, it is well preserved and the restoration works were excellent.
Undoubtedly, it is worth a visit. Besides, you will enjoy neo-byzantine music performed by the choir inside, so it is a peaceful and relaxing place as well.
You can visit the library next to the church with a collection of old icons and ecclesiastical objects as well.

🤩 amazing monastery. Very small but it seems that it is full of history.
There's not a single place on the wall without decoration. I was able to get in by chance as there were people before me that couldn't get inside.
It's free and you can pay for a candle to light and leave outside.
Recommend going there before leaving town. You don't need to appreciate religion just that you enjoy decoration and history.

Nice orthodox church in the city centre. It is said, that "it is always open" - I heard it from few people, read on the internet, even guide told us so, however after 7 PM it was already closed. We managed to take a look the next day in the morning, however without sightseeing, as there was holy mass inside. There is a nice yard though.

The old monastery built i. 1724, survived for 2 centuries until got dissolved. The church has been operating by a hieromonk since 1990, it took 100 years for it. You can see some of the excavations pieces found during searches after the church suffered losses during earthquakes. It is a very small church, but nice to visit the site

Beautiful church. It is quite small so it does not take long to visit. I loved the details in it, from wall carvings to beautiful drawing. Well looked after. It is free to enter, no ticket required. I think we spent about 10 - 15 minutes there. It is in the old town so very easy to find if you are a tourist.
It was empty when we visited, no wait, you just walk in.

Woodland leisure park for cycling, horseback riding & rope trails, with lodgings in tree houses.
A very nice place, with lots of activities for both children and adults, and only about an hour drive from Bucharest.
Bonus, you can book and sleep in a tree house which is a great experience.

We’re enjoying a day at this park almost every month. It’s one of the favourite places for my kid and we’ve always found good conditions and improvements. The animals are really cute also and the food is good too. You can buy tickets online if you want. Unfortunately they charge also for the parking, but otherwise it’s ok. Extra: you can spend the night in one of the houses. Never done it, but seems interesting.

Very awesome place, it has everythjing for everyone. We did the tree park, shot some bow and arrow, played in the childrens playground and ate there. This took us the whole day.
The only criticizm I have is the payment that we needed to pay for the children's playground. it was 35 lei for child. Seems a bit too much. Other than that everything was great. The tree climbing staff as well as the bow and arrow person were really nice and helpful. Really recommend it for the whole day experience.

Edenland is a really Great place to spend time in nature. The forest is very big, with a lot of activities but suitable also for walks. They have a zoo with several animals, from chickens to camels. For kids it’s amazing.
Paid parking at the entrance and food available at several restaurants inside.
We will clearly go again very soon.

A lovely rope park. We were there with 2 boys, 8 and 12, and they both had many tracks they could do, while the grownups had good coffee. We also had a nice lunch at the restaurant in the park (there is also ice cream, bubble tea, waffles, hamburgers etc. So you won't leave hungry 😋). Note that there is a price for admission and a separate frice for the rope park, and you must wear gloves (if you don't have any you can purchase on the spot)

A very big park which has a lot of attractions, especially for children. It has a zoo, tree trails on ropes, zip lines, bow and arrows, paint ball, horse riding and more. It even has several options of food, that you can choose from. The only thing that you need to take into consideration, is if you plan to do horse riding, you need to schedule it in advance couple of days.

Great overall experience, even though it might become expensive, depending on the level of fun you want to have. Great activities, though and a nice experience even for adults who can enjoy a forest scenery while having a burger or a pizza. The food quality is average, I have to say but the activities compensate

The park is diverse enough, it has children playgrounds and activities, a small zoo. However you have to pay for everything, parking has one price, then you pay an entrance fee, then each activity has its own price inside. More than that you are not allowed to bring in your own food, not even for children (our backpack was checked by the security guard with the remark that we are only allowes 0.5 L of our own water and one sandwich, and we have 2 kids). And if you think that during the summer you can escape the Bucharest heat, it’s not really true as there is a green house effect in the park.

A fantastic wonderland and perfect to stay for a few days. Especially in the summertime when it’s getting really hot outside.
We stayed in a treehouse for 2 nights (next time it will be longer). The treehouses are in a very good condition and clean. 👍🏻
The price’s are ok, just like somewhere else in Europe.
It is a wonderful stop on a trip through Romania.
Don’t take to much baggage with you since you have to carry it all the way to the house. This might be a challenge when you travel for weeks with a child. We where lucky and the stuff helped us on this.

Perfect place for kids (4 months and a 2 years old). The entry ticket is 16,5 ron/pers.
You have a lot of space in the forest, a mini zoo, a lot of activities.
You can take your kid for a poney ride that lasts for 10 minutes and it’s 35 ron.
You can take him to paint a toy or go at the playground (35 ron - children under 2 have free pass).
Also, you can eat (but it’s a bit expensive - 20 ron fries, 50 ron a burger, 7 ron a still water, 20 ron a juice) or come with food from home.
It’s a nice experience.
You can buy the tickets from here:

The place is full on any weekend day or during holidays, so you will have to get there early in the morning to be able to do the most.
You pay the entry fee and then you need to pay separately for each activity you choose from high ropes, paintball, airsoft, horse riding, painting, mini golf, escalade, mini-golf and many more. Prices vary from 20 lei (approx 5 eur for 30 min/ one experience) to 70 lei (approx 15 eur for 3h).
The most expensive experience is horse riding, which is 150 lei ( 30 eur for 45 min).
There is a long waiting time for all activities and is best if you go with a group as you can take turns on who is queuing to pay for each activity.
If you are want to eat/ drink you also have to wait in a long queue.
You can only get 0.5 l bottle in the park and no food is allowed (you will not be able to find that many options, mostly burgers, sweets and some snacks).
Your bag will be checked upon entry to the park and the staff is very rigid and a little rude.
Parking is free for the first hour then you will pay per hour.
I would avoid this place during high season, public holidays and weekends.
