Big and good maintained ex soviet shuttle army base. Easy accessible. Entrance fee 8eur and you can visit this place by yourself, no need for excursion times or guided tours. Worth visiting.

12eur adult ticket, guide every hour. Most of the original equipment is gone, but the museum, story and nuclear missle sillo are pretty cool
Mindaugas Jack?nas — Google review
Museum is not very big, but you get a chance to see the bunker and missile silo, various expositions with the history and etc, view from outside and inside. It has been renewed as well. I've been there before and after renewal it still looks impressive. If you haven't seen anything like it before it's a must see in Lithuania. (Especially after the "Oppenheimer" movie)
Edgar Edgar — Google review
In my opinion best museum in the area. If English speaking, get a guide or video guide. For me personally the biggest experience was the guns and the launch shaft.
Antanas Pru?inskas — Google review
A really good window into the cold war period and the workings of a silo base. Being in the UK Army during the last years of the cold war, this completed the picture for me. I'm glad I visited.
Rowan Jones — Google review
Where are only 3 museums like this one left in the world! Sad that everything is stolen but still you can see allot. all thing's are very interesting. Visit it!
Matas Adomaitis — Google review
Great place to return back in Sovie Union times.
Tomas Grinevi?ius — Google review
If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting the site of an old abandoned Soviet nuclear silo. You will learn a lot of history and get a good feel for what it was like to be someone who was in one of these things during the cold war. Tickets are cheap, parking is easy and free, it's a nice drive through a beautiful area and a great trip through history. Ask to rent the audio device so that you can hear the stories explained to you in your language of choice.
Dave Gogan — Google review
Fascinating site with extensive displays covering the comprehensive history of the Cold War. Our shore excursion visit felt a little rushed, better if you can go on your own and take the time to absorb everything in depth.
Travis Copeland — Google review
Great place and a must see in Lithuania. You can get inside the silos, see how the base was set up and working back in times. Surrounded by a forrest, lake nearby, quite remote.
Dorota Trapczyńska — Google review
Unfortunately it was nothing special, the entry should be 3-5€ instead of 10€ in my opinion. The only reason we visited this place is because of the lake next to it :) we have spent around 20 minutes inside as it is smaller than expected, so don't be too excited about it.
Eugen Fomin — Google review
Didn't really know what to expect but a fascinating insight into a piece of history. The challenge is how poignant this is in the current climate with what Russia and China are doing now..... the place is set in a beautiful forest but the whole set up is scary yet fascinating. From the underground bunkers to the 4 silos that held the nukes and the simulation room showing the impact of a "small" warhead.... needs to be seen to hopefully teach us a lesson of where we really don't want to be.
John Turney — Google review
Kind of an old school museum, but the atmosphere of the place is thrilling! They got audio guides in En, De, Ru and there is a lot of reading with EN translations in the bunker. Highlight of the visit is to take a look into the missile silo.
Marian Grofcik — Google review
What a great place to visit. Been here years ago at the end of the 90th before the museum opened. Really nicely done. Recommend
Algis B. — Google review
Very interesting but could be a little bit more accessible to non-lithuanian speakers - many of the items on display are not translated, so there’s a slight feeling of missing out. Otherwise very worth the visit and there is plenty information in English and audio guides are available as well.

The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania is a significant site for Christians and a symbol of peace that has over 100,000 crosses planted on it. This folk art fantasy began during the 1831 Uprising and became more prominent in the 1960s as an act of defiance against Soviet rule which was anti-religious. The locals would sneak to the hill at night to plant crosses, much to the annoyance of their oppressors.
So incredible. Crosses on crosses on crosses. A true symbol of resilience regardless of one's religion. The Soviets destroyed the hill 4 times in 40 years, but after each attempt, people came back and started placing crosses again.
Tanner West — Google review
Out of the way place in Lithuania but a short drive from where we were staying in Riga, Latvia. When you look at all of the crosses, you can see so many stories that are surely captured here. Highly recommend visiting this gem.
Alice B — Google review
Interesting place on the way from Riga to Vilnius or Klaipeda. Without having the emotional bond to the background of these crosses, it's okay to see but not worth a trip on its own (a stop/small detour is worth it).
Andreas Heierli — Google review
As a Catholic I always appreciate to visit a pilgrimage places, and this one is one of my bucket list, perfect place for the crosses, we are from Finland and we travel to Estonia, Latvia and here in Siulai in Lithuania, we arrived early so there not so much tourist and it is better tho, BTW we visited month of August. You better visit early morning before tourist flock to the place, it's just amazing how many crosses and people travel from different countries with their prayers of their beloved who already departed from this world. I just keep my FAITH BURNING! This is free to visit, you can only pay for the parking and toilet! And maybe but some souvenirs as well to bring home with you❤️
Mhai little Diaries — Google review
This monument is located on a decent-sized hill with absolutely every square inch covered in multiple wooden crosses, but for a single pathway which snakes up to the top.
If you’re driving around Lithuania this is one of the more notable roadside attractions, and well worth a slight diversion to see it

Hill of Crosses in Lithuania
Visited on 2/10/2019
It may be a site of pilgrimage, but I do have a mixed feeling about it.
There is plenty of car park, and no entrance fee. After passing the entrance of a big thick wall is immense area of lustrous green fields on both sides of the brick pave path.
It is quite a fair walk to the hill where the crosses are. The hill has gentle slope, an it is not wheelchair friendly.
According to a source, "Poles and Lithuanians unsuccessfully rebelled against Russian authorities in 1831 and 1863. These two uprisings are connected with the beginnings of the hill: as families could not locate bodies of perished rebels, they started putting up symbolic crosses at the site of a former hill fort."
I do not think I like to visit this place alone or in the evening. It is rather eerie for my liking. Although it is called the Hill of Crosses, there are some big statues as well.
When Pope John Paul II visited the Hill of Crosses, he declared it a place for hope, peace, love and sacrifice.
On a very serious note, I consider this place is a fire hazard. Most of the crosses are small and wooden, simply and randomly pegged into the soil very close to each other. In fact, it is very messy and unsightly to say the least. The management should seriously consider taking necessary precaution to prevent malicious fire bugs or lightning strike to start a fire.
Sin Fong Chan — Google review
This is one of those spot in middle of nowhere which will very surprise you. I can very recommend it. Scary but interesting. You can buy here your own cross( many types in offer) and you can leave it in this hill of crosses. Land around reminds me Montana in USA. Kind of farms land…
Michael Rada (GLORY STORY) — Google review
Unusual and unexpected attraction. Hill of Crosses is a site of pilgrimage where crosses were placed on the site to commemorate the victims of the Lithuanians and Poles rebellion against Russian authorities in 1831, as many families could not locate the bodies of fallen rebels. Haunting and grim sentiment. Worth a visit
CK Cheong — Google review
It's somewhere to go to say you've been. But what's in the photos is what's there. Takes maybe 25 minutes to Generously explore, but there is also a Franciscan monastery to visit too. We drove (from Riga) 2 1/2 hours for less than a half hour visit. Would recommend tagging in on to another visit or trip
Claire Kemancı — Google review
Definitely worth a stop! This historic gem offers hours of exploration. No tickets required, and I found parking easily outside the main lot. Dive into its backstory before visiting, and you might not even need a guide. A self-paced journey through time.
Leo Cugnon Moreno — Google review
A beautiful place of memories, meditation, history, reverence and Crosses. It’s a never ending experience for anyone who visits this place. You never forget about it because you leave a cross and your intentions with the hope for miracles 😇
If you are planning to take buses, then it is a short walking distance from the bus stop at the junction.
Victor Ayertey — Google review
Large Car park with visitor centre and toilets, able to buy trinkets to keep and a cross to put on the hill. Read into the history before coming. Pedestrian access via a long wide pathway before reaching the hill. The top part of the hill is only accessible by steps. Although the base is flat so disabled people can get round.
Mike Hollis — Google review
You can park at the souvenir/information place for 0,90€ (for car), but if you follow the road you can park for free even closer to the hill.😉
Beatiful place. The number of crosses will probably be around 200000 now, the previous number was from 2006.
Kind of busy in summer, but still manageable.
You can feel the strength of religious human race contributing to this monument. Each cross might have its own story.
Dominik Studen? — Google review
Very beautiful spot that is worth the trip. The hill of crosses dates Bach many years and with the crosses you see it shows. Approximately 200,000 crosses are present and many more added daily. There are paths to walk and some have some music and talking wired into the area. Again, take ur time and observe everything. The pope blessed the area in the 90’s.
KC Mitch — Google review
Such a beautiful location to visit with rich history, no tickets needed but a guide would have been lovely to bring along with us. There's a wonderful tradition where those who visit can leave their own crosses, there's an information centre nearby which sells some but we came after hours and just about missed it.
Dani Uwu — Google review
This site is a very unique place with uncertain history. Over 100,000 crosses are here. The Soviet Union attempted to destroy the place several times with bulldozers and burning it. Burnt crosses can still be seen on the hill. The Lithuanians kept rebuilding the place at night. It became most famous after Pope John Paul II visited in 1993. He thanked the Lithuanians for their testimony to the world of their faith. He left monuments with the 1993 date of his visit. People may place their own cross without a permit if the cross is less than 3 meters in height. Some have said the site is scary. I did not find it so. It was solemn and unique. In a few places, music played. Since July 7, 2000, there has been a Franciscan Monastery 300 meters from the hill. Although it was a distance, I thought this was a worthwhile visit.
David Miller (DavidM) — Google review
There is no public transport directly go from Šiaulai bus station to the Hill of Cross so I would recommend to go by bolt (around €10-12). It is really worth a go in terms of the historical meaning if
you come to Lithuania. It is a open space with over 100,000 crosses.
Yancy Lau — Google review
I had a lovely visit with many more pictures than I can post here. Very interesting. You can bring your own cross and place it here. Great history.
Kyle Fields — Google review
Very interesting place to visit. From the front, it doesn't look too big, but once you climb the first hill, you will see the how large this place is and how many crosses there are! Very humbling experience. We went on Saturday in March and there was only handful of people. The toilets cost €1 and are spotlessly clean.

One of the best places that I have been in Baltics. This place is closer from Riga. I did not know about this place then. I visited this place from Vilnius and it was almost little close to 3 hours from there with two short breaks in between. The place in itself was lovely and I got some amazing clicks and loads of memories to take back. It was good to know about the history from the beginning of 1831 about the hill of crosses

Interesting place with many crosses. Would think that this place would be super spooky at night. Was quiet and peaceful when we were there. Tourist shop is nice and the lady behind the counter was very pleasant and friendly. 10 min walk from car park to the hill. Free entry

Visited in the winter and it was amazing. You can park at the visitor center and walk over take around 3 minutes. Whole trip can be done less than 30 minutes if you’re not particular.

Absolutely loved the Hill of Crosses and the story behind it. Many times the Hill of Crosses had either been removed (by the Soviet Union) or through fire, but it always reappears through the devotion of locals and tourists! Really a special place.
World Proven — Google review
The Hill of Crosses is my favorite place in Lithuania. It nourishes my soul when I visit there. This recent visit is my third actually. The hill is not just about the crosses but more so about the history behind it. There used to be more crosses before. We visited in 2014, 2016 and this October 2023. I read that there had been fire on the hill a few years back and last year too so I guess that explains why there are less crosses now.
The 9th Fort of the Kaunas Fortress is a museum and memorial to the 50,000 Lithuanians and Jews who were killed there during the Holocaust. The site also has exhibits about Lithuanias difficult recent history.
This place is a must when visit Kaunas.
The area is large and clean. From the top of the fort there is a nice view over the city. The memorial is very significant an amazing structure.
Virginia Ariate — Google review
Great value for money - tickets are 6 euro and you get full history of the forts, the tragedy's that happened there etc. Tip: do not spend all your time on the first exhibitions because there's tons to see! Also go to the roof, it's worth the view. Toilets on site but bring your own drink since there's nothing to be obtained on site.

Stunning and very moving tribute to the 50,000 Jewish men, women and children murdered by the Nazis in 1941. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful but, in contrast, the 31 metre high monument is imposing and disturbing. As it should be.

This place is full of history. Reminded me of our visit to Auschwitz. The museum is very informative and worth a visit. Inexpensive too. The monument is amazing to see. Highly recommend. We got a Bolt here.

The fort has been restored to some extent and tells the story of it's occupational history by both the aggressors in the world war and the red army during the invasion of Lithuania. The memorabilia is preserved of whatever remains were recovered after it's dark days in history...There is also a sculpture made of exposed concrete, very expressive and thought provoking..Visit there with about three hours at least to absorb the place, walk through the greens to reach the fort since one building is under renovation currently..Entry to the fort is charged at 6€ per adult, the sculpture and the grounds are free

Sigita Aleknaviciene — Google review
The 2h guided tour is really great. Apart from learning a lot of details from the guides, you are also accessing internal parts of the fortification which are not accessible with the general ticket. The fortress itself is separated to two big sectors. The first smaller one, is related to the history of the fortress as it planned to be used. The second is related to the history of transforming the fortress to prison and all the related atrocities that happen during this period. For sure it worth visiting this place, but plan to spend a lot hours in this place. There was no kind of food sold here so you have to be full before arriving or you will starve.
Nikos Gkekas — Google review
Well worth the visit. Prison section of the museum is very interesting, the pre-war section not so much (not much to see, just reading a load of text on the walls). The organisation of the museum in general and English descriptions could do with some work, but overall a worthwhile experience.

A very interesting and challenging museum. It traces the development of forts from the crusades to the 2nd world war. Some exhibits were quite disturbing!

A great place to visit for some historical indulgence, a very impressive monument and interesting fort. It's quite an emotionally moving spot due to the war crimes committed here. The snow added some visual beauty aswell. This along with the war museum in town is a great way to capture the history of Kaunas past and not so distant past.

Nice to visit and see a little bit of history. The museum inside was small, but nice to escape the wind. The outside of the castle is beautiful. If you have some time to kill, going inside is nice but isn’t necessary.

Kaunas Castle is a calling card of the city) This castle is even older, but only a fourth of the original building remains. It was destroyed and rebuilt many times. After the Battle of Grunwald, Kaunas Castle lost its strategic military importance and was used as a residence.
Today the Castle is a must-see attraction for everyone who visit Kaunas. It looks well-kept but there's no interesting exhibitions inside. But still you can took a photo in front of the castle or have a nice walk in a picturesque place.

Smaller Castle with great surroundings.
Only went to the outside of the castle and not the actual inside with museum. But I would still recommend just to see the outside and the surrounding park.
Since you have the Santakos park just right by and also the old city in close proximity.
You have very good views if you climb the castle stairs since you can go up there separately from the inside portion that's paid (3€ normal ticket and 1,5€ reduced)
If you're traveling by car you also have big paid parking very close.

Yes, the museum is small. Yes, only a small part of the castle remains and yes, it is mostly rebuild as only a tiny part is original. But still, you cannot overpass this site without giving a look when you are in the Old City of Kaunas. Besides the nice view, it gives an idea how the place was during the medieval era.

Really nice place to visit, especially before Christmas to get into Christmas spirit. Get ready to walk a lot and keep warm. There are two places to get a hot drink, some chips and other warm snacks. Well looked after toilet facility. "Menulio takais" has lots of lights which were located all over the place. Although, the lights were a bit too static in most places, I missed more movement, maybe some more lasers shows, but overall experience was great, well recommended.

The best place I've ever visited in my life. It was so pure and earthy. There wasn't snow, instead it was sunny day. We visited this place to celebrate Užgavėnės (welcoming spring season). As you can se ein pictures, it's afolk tradition, wherein they say goodbye to winter and welcome the spring. Hoping that the flowers will bloom again 🌹🌞🌻.
Lithuanian people are very happy during this time. Many visitors visit this place.
The moment you enter this museum, it's a huge jungle. Go wherever you wanna go. Explore everything.
NOTE- entrance is strictly under surveillance. (During our time, police officers were there at the entry points).
Don't forget to try their "marinated broccoli and broccoli water". It's their fav. Also don't forget to try pancakes. They're very tasty.

This is a really good open air museum, you will be on a Journey through different time period of lithuania, while surounded by open nature.
You are free to roam around the park/museum at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful building from different eras of history.
all the historical gardens are kept nicely maintained, and if you visit during the day you can take a tea/snacks in the local shops there.
This museum if very dog friendly with lots of space for the dogs to feel free and take a break from the city.
Price wise its very cheap for the amount of things to see, we paid 2.6 euro per person, a 2€ fixed price for parking plus 0.5€ for 1h of parking.
parking is free from 21h (9pm) but close to visitors at 22h (10pm)
We visited at 19:00 (7pm) and the park was basically empty, this is why I would say it's an awesome place to take your dog, they will be able to rund free in the big fields since there's nothing else but open fields, be sure to keep the leash on or available at all time.
The museum also ofers sleeping areas that are available through booking.com, we didn't book it because of some change in planing, but from what we saw the sleeping areas (visitors can be outside all day) seem very nice, the exception is that you dont have private bathrooms nor a kitchen, wifi is also not available.
overall it was a very nice Museum, and I would call it a park.

It is a beautiful huge park and you definitely need a whole day to see the whole area but it is a really nice showcase of the buildings during previous times. The buildings were beautifully maintained and my favourite part was the gentleman doing the scarfs, aprons etc live in one of the buildings. I would recommend to bring your own food as we had the bad luck of being there when the cafe was closed. There are plenty of picnic area. I would recommend a bit more of interaction between the people sitting there instead of them (most of them but not all) just being on their phone and appearing unfriendly and unapproachable.

Amazing place to visit. If you are interested to travel back in time, then you must visit this museum. Good weather recommended for the best experience. Prepare to spend here about 4 hours at least. You can take some food and drinks with you and make a really great picnic here. This museum represents 4 main regions of Lithuania: Zemaitija, Aukstatija, Suvalkija, Dzukija. You'll see interior and exterior of houses which is common to each region. You'll see in this museum how rich people lived, how poor people lived, which tools they were using for work and household. Lots of interesting stuff. So if you tired of the city and would like to spend a day in the countryside this is a place to go. The ticket price is 8 EUR.

We visited it in winter when light festival takes place in evening. Really nice experience. Area perfectly suits for this light festival. We also visited it in summer. It is unique experience. Different regions historical rural buildings are present. It is nice that it is possible to enter inside and explore interior.

This was wonderful, so beautiful. The house are really cute and very well kept. 4 eur entrance fee. Plan at least 2 hours for the visit and bring some food to make a picnic :) the area is huge so be prepared to do some walking, we walked approx 6km. They were no shops (maybe april is off season?), so bring water. Good parking (2 eur).

The museum deserves maybe 3 hours as the surface is huge. A lot of paths to take, nature, lake and of course the traditional buildings. Ticket is expensive. Great place!

A must visit museum when visiting Lithuania if interested in its history and 19th century lifestyle and regional characteristics. This open air museum has 7km lenght route, you can get in by foot, by car for extra charge or it’s a nice cycling route if the weather is good.

Tree-canopy trail complex with a walkway, an information center & a 34-m. observation tower.
This is a cool place among beautiful nature. Suitable for families too. We spent nice time here and have a lot of estetic impressions

Lovely walk along the tree tops. It's quite short, hence 4 stars, but the views are beautiful. A nice place to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon sun.

Beautifull place to visit with your family. There is a small train which can take you to Anyksčiai city centre and back.
If you want to go for a walk on the treetop path you can buy tickets downstairs or just go straight to the entrance on the mountain and buy one there.

Nice place to walk high even very high if you like to peak a tower. Puntukas - one of the biggest stones in Lithuanai - is also on the track. Don't take kids' strollers with you will have to climb a lot. Toilet is in the end of the track in the souvenir shop. Would be better to have one in the start as well. A few fastfood places to eat as well. More and more atractions for famimies add up on this territory.

Great outdoor place, especially in fall. Yes, it's true - the walking path through the trees are not long. But the view openning from the tower is enjoyable.
I recommend this place as part of trip to Anykščiai.
The start there where the Puntukas Stone is located. That by itself is the 2nd largest in Lithuania.

The trail itself is great, even if you go several times - you see something new every time. the staff had a language barrier - they didn't speak English, so it was very difficult to understand each other. there were no indications as to where the entrance really is. 4eur for adults, 2eur for students, children and seniors

In fact, wherever he looks you see a "no entry" sign, EVERYWHERE! A world class stud? I do not think so. You've wasted an hour of our lives. (Translated by Google) I would describe the place as "average", so 3 stars...
I admit that for many years, mainly from the media, I received information that it was a "famous stud farm" with "million-dollar" horse auctions, so I also imagined it as a prestigious place...
Unfortunately, reality does not reflect this - the area and nature are of course beautiful, because they are natural, but the stud farm itself is terribly underinvested, the buildings are dirty and shabby (it still looks OK from a distance, but when you get closer...), the horse reels are rusty. .. a bit like a "PRL" object...
The lady who sold us the tickets (we were on a motorcycle trip with my friends) was very nice, helpful and smiling, so that's the "bright spot" of this place :).
In my opinion, this is not a "must see" place, but rather "I'm in the area, I have no idea what to do, I'll go there" 😉.

The guide and her daughter showed us around the stud farm and told us its entire history. I warn you right away that you need to make an appointment in advance and it is not easy. Wildlife reserve with walking paths & opportunities to view bison, wolves & elk in natural habitat.
Amazing place to experience nature
?ukasz Piwowarski — Google review
Entrance costs 20 zlotys. Inside there are several interesting museum exhibits telling about the history, life and structure of bison.
But the main part, of course, is outside. There are about a dozen enclosures inhabited by different animals: bison, elk, deer, wolves, lynxes, wild boars... Unfortunately, you almost certainly will not be able to see them all - the animals are hiding in the depths of the enclosure. But large animals (bison) can be clearly seen and photographed.
In general, you can walk around the entire reserve in about 30 minutes. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth paying 20 zlotys for this, but it seems to me that in any case this is the most interesting thing in the Polish Białowieża Forest.

Getting to see the bisons was the highlight. Don't think I have ever seen one live, so that was pretty cool. The rest are just standard animals found throughout Europe. It seems to be a fun place to take kids. As an adult, I had an odd feeling of visiting a zoo rather than a reserve, but the animals seem to be very well treated.

Białowieża National Park Bison Demonstration Reserve is situated on the road connecting Białowieża with Hajnówka.
In the reserve, in conditions close to natural, there are bison, Polish Tarpan horses, elk, red deer, roe deer, wild boars, bison (a cross between a bison and domestic cattle), wolves and a lynx. The demonstration reserve is a significant tourist attraction, it also serves the natural education of schoolchildren visiting Białowieża.
Some history:
For the restitution of the European bison in Poland in natural conditions was the establishment in 1929 of a zoo for these animals.
The successful development of bison restitution breeding in Białowieża after World War II allowed for the transition to free breeding. In the Polish part of the Białowieża Forest, the first bison were released into the wild in 1952, and the first calf was born in the wild in 1957. In the period 1952-1966, 38 bison were released into the wild from breeding reserves. From 1967, the release of new pieces ceased

This is an amazing place. Just to dive into the atmosphere, the best way to get there is to walk from Żebra Żubra path starting in Białowieża. This place is unique. You have plenty of wild animals living in a semi-wild environment. With a bit of a luck you can even pet the deer (beware of the male, he is jealous). There are multi-language info tables next to the animals. A big parking spot outside. Responsible restrictions due to covid. Ticket price was 10 PLN per person, bought from ticket machine.
Seeing the place is a must if you are nearby. Highly recommended.

Trakai Island Castle is a picturesque medieval fortress located on an island in a tranquil lake. It was constructed around 1400 to provide stronger defenses for Grand Duke Vytautas. The castle is characterized by coral-colored brick towers and serves as the home of the excellent Trakai History Museum, which displays various artifacts from past eras including chainmail, medieval weapons, embroidery and glassware. During summer months, the castle's courtyard becomes a magical stage for concerts and plays.
Very beautiful place. Exactly in hot weather I am very recommend to rent a water bysicle and go across the island around the castle. I will love it, I promise you. Most exhibitions and the history of items or places are explained in Lithuanian and English, few more are also in Polish and Russian languages. There's also a lake around the castle and a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops

Beautiful castle, picturesquely located on a lake. Many different exhibitions about it's history. Lovely view of the interior. Really good souvenir shop that is not to be missed. Overall it's definitely worth visiting as a day trip from Vilnius.

A very well preserved castle that is worth visiting. It gives you a good feel of the past and teaches a bit of history. I like how they organised it so that you go from one room to another and get to see everything without wandering around back and forth. There are also some hidden surprises 😉

Cute little castle on an island in Trakai outside of Vilnius. We went on a Sunday and it was remarkably quiet and peaceful.
You cross a bridge over the lake to get to the castle island. You can then either pay for a ticket to see the castle or you can simply walk around the perimeter of the castle. We were short on time so we opted for the latter. We walked around the outside and didn’t see a single person in the middle of the day on a weekend.
We also got to enter the main castle gate and have a look at the courtyard without paying for a ticket.

Beautiful! Many historical antiques. It's probably too boring for children, but it's a fascinating look into the history and cultural development of Lithuania. Low admission price.

This is a lovely castle and certainly worth a visit if you are staying in Vilnius or surrounding area. It makes a great day out. There is ample parking in the town and the castle is an easy walk. All the usual tourist souvenir shops are on the way.
The castle is in excellent condition and has a large number of exhibits from around the area over the centuries. This are arranged in the rooms, mainly in the main keep. They cover different periods in the castle’s history.
You can walk all around the castle, both around the outside and within. You can even rent a boat and go right round the outside. Some of the views across the lake are really nice, though there is nothing that really stands out. The gift shop is really good and actually cheaper than many of the market stalls in the village. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Beautiful castle on an island to explore when visiting Vilnius. It's an easy 45 minutes away from the city center by car. The museum shares information about the history of the area with the castle as well as the restoration of what the castle looks like today. Probably the highlight of our trip to Vilnius.

Brest Fortress, also known as the Hero Fortress, is a 19th-century fortress located in Brest, Belarus. It gained its heroic title to honor its defense during the German-Soviet War of 1941-1945. The fortress features imposing ruins and a museum that provides background on the events of World War II. Visitors can explore artifacts and photographs from this period. The complex also includes a brutalist-style concrete memorial statue.
Was awestruck and simply amazed visiting this place. As I entered, they were playing "the Sacred War", one of the most famous World War II songs, and this was easily one of the most Soviet experiences I ever had in my many stays in former Soviet countries.

Good museum to give background to the events during WW2 that occurred at the fortress. Some displays are in English, but you can easily get the idea about the artifacts and photographs which have not been translated.
Do not miss the excellent museum shop downstairs. Very reasonable prices on some interesting souvenirs, from coins to old bullets.

I recommend to visit this place if you are fan of military and history of wars. Place is amazing and really really big! I also suggest to visit it with guide because you could hear really great story about everything inside. There is a lot of military and culture accents so remember that you are visitor and you are guest here :)

Here you can experience the greatness and sadness of war simultaneously, nothing much left of the original buildings thanks to those Germans, but the museum and maps of the Fort give a good idea of how large the site actually is. The monuments are imposing as go never forget what happened.

Church in the fortress is amazing. Don't mind its renovated exterior - just step inside. You'll be surprised. Memorial itself is a great example of soviet monumental memorial complexes.

Formerly known as Brest-Litoŭsk Fortress, is a 19th-century fortress in Brest in present-day Belarus. In 1965 the title "Hero Fortress" was given to the fortress to commemorate the defence of the frontier stronghold during the first week of the German-Soviet War of 1941-1945 when Axis forces invaded the Soviet Union with the launch of Operation Barbarossa on June 22, 1941. The title "Hero Fortress" corresponds to the title "Hero City" that the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union awarded to an eventual total of twelve Soviet cities.

A good exposition, worth seeing for sure. However, we enjoyed a very similar museum in Baranovichy much more. In Baranovichy they treat their visitors much more warmly, and when we went there a couple of years ago there was a wonderful guide, who was very passionate about his job and who told us a great many of interesting things about engines and let us try a lot aff technical stuff for ourselves. In the Brest museum there were no excursions available at the time, so we had to make do with the very short- spoken plaques beside the exhibits.

The Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights in Vilnius, Lithuania is a very sad but important museum that tells the story of Lithuania's occupation by the Soviet Union and the resistance movements against it. The museum houses a vast collection of artifacts, photos, and prison cells where many Lithuanians were tortured and killed after WWII.
I can't say enough good things about this museum. A person could definitely spend an entire day here, soaking up all of the history. The best word I can use to describe it is emotional. The museum itself is very well kept, clean, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is also a great selection of books that you can buy at the ticket sales window.

Very interesting museum. The most thrilling and atmosphere part is basement where prisoners were kept. One of the most interesting aspects is that there are a lot of similar places still functioning in Belarus or Russia, so if you want to know what political prisoners have to deal with in those countries - just visit this museum. Also very interesting exhibition is located on 2nd floor where you can see the equipment that KGB used. Lots of devices like metal detectors and surveillance equipment.

A place that records Lithuanian history. From the Second World War to the 1990s and describes how the Gestapo and KGB treated uncomfortable Lithuanians, priests and others. However, it also shows the bravery of the nation and the partisan groups who fought for their countrymen

Title: A Fascinating Journey into History at the KGB Museum in Vilnius
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently had the opportunity to visit the KGB Museum in Vilnius, and it was a truly enlightening experience. The museum provides a glimpse into the dark past of Soviet occupation and the atrocities committed during that era.
The most captivating aspect of the museum was undoubtedly the basement, where the cells, torture rooms, and execution chambers were located. Exploring this area was a chilling and thought-provoking experience, as it offered a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by individuals during that period. The museum has done an excellent job in preserving and presenting this part of history, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the struggles endured by those affected. The basement section deserves special recognition for its authenticity and the emotions it evokes.
The exhibits throughout the museum are informative and well-curated, providing a comprehensive overview of the KGB's operations and the impact it had on Lithuania. The artifacts and photographs on display serve as powerful reminders of the oppression faced by the people and the resilience they demonstrated in the face of adversity. The museum effectively presents historical information, and the audio guides are a valuable resource that enhance the overall experience.
The staff at the KGB Museum were knowledgeable and approachable, willing to answer questions and provide additional insights. Their passion for preserving history and educating visitors was evident, and they contributed to making the visit informative and engaging.
One aspect that could be improved upon is the layout of the museum. At times, the flow of the exhibits felt a bit disjointed, and it was challenging to navigate through the different sections. Some additional signage or a clearer pathway would be beneficial in ensuring a smoother visitor experience.
It is important to note that visiting the KGB Museum can be emotionally intense, as it exposes the harsh realities of the past. Sensitivity and respect for the subject matter are crucial when exploring the exhibits, as they depict the suffering and trauma endured by many.
In conclusion, the KGB Museum in Vilnius offers an eye-opening and immersive journey into Lithuania's history during the Soviet occupation. The basement section, with its cells, torture rooms, and execution chambers, stands out as the most compelling and thought-provoking part of the museum. The exhibits are informative, and the staff is knowledgeable and approachable. Although the layout could be improved, the museum effectively presents a significant chapter of history that should not be forgotten. I recommend visiting the KGB Museum for anyone interested in understanding the impact of the Soviet regime and paying tribute to the resilience of the Lithuanian people.

I learned so much about the atrocities committed under Soviet occupation to Lithuania. It’s a very text heavy museum to visit so be prepared to read a lot.
It’s very interesting and takes you through various stages of soviet occupation. Allow atleast an hour and half to take in everything. Some information outlines the deportations, the killings, mass graves and the resistance (freedom fighters). The downstairs KGB prison is a harrowing and solemn experience that you should definitely walk through. You can just feel the sense of torment and horror.
I was shocked to find cells that were padded and used for torture while others were filled with ice cold water in solitary confinement. There’s also an execution room. It’s a very interesting museum to visit and I recommend it 👍🏽👍🏽

miguel org — Google review
Interesting and informative museum, for sure. Contains some very sad parts of Lithuanian history during Communist rule, can’t be denied. However, deep anti-Soviet bias that is shown by the museum’s lack or downplaying of the Lithuanian (White) partisans’ involvement in antisemitic actions during the Second World War. Not much, if anything, is said about how at the beginning of the war, the Lithuanian nationalists were more than happy in cooperating with N*zis against communists and Jews in hope of getting independence - which by the way they never got, as they became a vessel of N*zi germany and ended up exterminating almost completely the Lithuanian Jewish population. In conclusion, for a museum about genocide, the Holocaust in Lithuania is very much downplayed and not mentioned and instead Soviet crimes, which by no means should be undermined, are the only thing shown throughout the museum (except for a room dedicated to the Holocaust in the cells section of the museum). Again, for a museum about such topics, as freedom and genocide, such unashamed and proud bias is shameful and only serves nationalist propaganda goals.
I recommend a visit, just to see for yourself the bias.

A lot of useful information, I think it would be worth it to take an audio guide, however it’s quite expensive 5euro when I was there, you might feel overwhelmed when you read this much but nevertheless I strongly recommend visiting this place for foreigners not knowledgeable about Lithuania’a history

The Museum opened shortly after Lithuania gained its independence from Soviet Russia in 1991. The KGB operated out of this building for nearly 50 years. The basement prison remains as it was found after their departure. Interrogations, confinement, torture, exercise yard, and executions were all conducted here and seen here. Exhibitions on the upper floors deal w the "pain & dramatic times in the history of Lithuania: the loss of independence, brutal reprisals at the hands of the Soviet regime, and the bitter fight for the reestablishment of independence." Unbelievable sad and revealing 😔.
Gordon Shaffer — Google review
Interesting museum that navigates the visitor through the Lithuanian rexent history during Soviet occupation. The most spectacular exhibit is apparently the KGB prison on the basement. You can feel the horror of those that suffered there. The rest of the museum is nice however quite small. Is a must if you ate visiting Vilnius. It took around 45 minutes to see the whole museum.

The Vilnius Cathedral, located in the heart of the old town, is a beautiful and important Roman Catholic cathedral. It features a chapel that honors Lithuania's patron saint, St. Casimir, as well as its catacombs which are popular for guided tours. The interior is relatively unadorned due to the many years of Soviet rule when decorations were stripped and it was used for various other purposes unrelated to worship.

This time we visited the crypts of Vilnius Cathedral. And it must be said that when you think you know a lot about this building, it can only mean one thing - you haven't been under it yet. Although today's Cathedral was only built in the 19th century, its crypts may date back as far as the 15th century, or even earlier. If you want to find out which of the buried rulers of Lithuania have already been found and which have not yet, if you want to experience the feeling of cozy claustrophobia and hear the story of the Romeo and Juliet of the Lithuanian manor - the crypts of the Cathedral are just right for that.

The history museum Gediminas Castle Tower in Vilnius tells the story of the city from its settlement by Grand Duke Gediminas in the 15th century to present day. The tower, which is one of Vilnius' oldest and most popular tourist attractions, offers a 360-degree panorama of the city and exhibits objects related to Lithuania's history.

All that's left from the castle is one tower and some ruins. You can climb the tower or use an elevator, entrance is paid.
To get to the hill you can use a ferry ride for 1 € per person/ride. Or you can climb pretty steep hill and stairs to get on top. Not recommended for people with movement problem/bad knees etc. - use furnicular instead.
However, you can get really nice view of the town from here. One of the best. I would say.

It's so worth the climb. It's not a long climb, a tad steep but there are steps and bars to assist ascending. The view of the city from the top is magnificent especially towards sunset as the light hits certain points of the city. Fantastic

The vibrant and well-preserved Senamiestis in Vilnius is known for its historical structures, including baroque and Gothic churches as well as the neoclassical Town Hall. The medieval Gediminas Castle Tower provides a panoramic view of the city while Vilnius University dates back to the 16th century. In narrow alleyways, small shops sell amber jewelry, wood carvings, or Lithuanian cheese.
The Church of Saint Anne is a stunning gothic church located in the heart of old Vilnius, one of Lithuania's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Constructed from thirty-three different types of clay bricks, the red hue of the church can be attributed to this unique attribute. Today, The Church of Saint Anne is grouped with neighboring Saints Francis and Bernardine Church, with tourist routes going through both.
A 520-year-old Gothic church, built of red bricks. Outside there is a small tipi tent with wooden beams that warm the tent and the atmosphere. The church is functional and has a partner activity, in addition you can enter and be impressed by it. Highly recommended

We had the chance to visit this place when we did a walking tour of Lithuania downtown centre. I’ve learned from our Tour guide that St. Anne's Church in Vilnius, Lithuania is a stunning Gothic masterpiece known for its intricate brickwork and elegant architecture. Built in the 15th century, it is a symbol of the city's rich history and a must-visit attraction for its beauty and cultural significance.

This was far & away the most beautiful landmark I came across during my time in Vilnius. Even after seeing about a bazillion European cathedrals/ churches/ chapels, etc…this one stands out.
They apparently used 33 different varieties of bricks (colors, textures, shapes & sizes) to create a sort of “flaming” facade. Come near sunset on a clear day, & be rewarded with a true sight to behold.

There is no entrance fee, but must be quiet inside. It's a sacred solemn place that you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and pray with others.
Note that the opening hours are different every day, so make sure the opening hours before you go.

Stunning red brick structure nestled in the middle of Vilnius's white snow-covered streets, right next to the Bernadine Garden. You can take a peek inside for free. Don't forget to read up on the what the building has been used for in the past centuries on a plaque inside!

Unbelievably atmospheric and beautiful. The gothic architecture is very beautiful and unique. The church is very well kept and is a must see if you’re passing by!
Igors Bondarevs (anonny) — Google review
According to a well-known legend, Emperor Napoleon, after seeing the church during the Franco-Russian War in 1812, expressed a wish to carry the church home with him to Paris 'in the palm of his hand' you can understand why this was said about this church. The church has detailed sculpting and made with red brick it’s quite remarkable. Inside the church as well maintained and they haven’t tried to do many renovations so the original paintings seems to be in view and has a very gothic architecture to it. It also has a large pipe organ as well. A church not to be missed if you are in Vilnius. Highly recommend

Beautiful, gothic style church. Built in/around the 1500’s, this church is both impressive and one of a kind. If you visit, be sure to really admire both the inside and outside as it’s all really impressive and deserves the attention.
Corbett Fertig — Google review
One of the most beautiful church in Vilnius for me) This church is one of the most pre-eminent examples, and probably the most unified example, of the Gothic in Vilnius. On the other hand, its architectural style combines elements of Baroque inside and Neo-Gothic (a bell tower). This mix of styles makes the building magnificent inside and out. The church is absolutely fantastic! Moreover, St.Anne's Church is taken in the UNESCO heritage list. My recommendation!

The great thing is that this church was renovated in the past years. The work progress and difference are very visible. When I was there, there was also a small, but interesting open air exibition related to war in Ukraine.

Old Town Café is highly recommended to anyone who enjoys delectable salads and casseroles. The recent restoration has only enhanced the beauty of this place. Additionally, they have undergone a change in name and menu, now offering delicious Thai cuisine. It is definitely worth trying their excellent food at prices comparable to those found in the old town. The chef's culinary skills are exceptional, as evidenced by the mouthwatering soups and the exquisite duck served on a bed of vegetables.

(Translated by Google) A revelation: quiet, slightly in front of the market square, i.e. peaceful, without overcrowding compared to what's happening in the restaurants on the market square, and most importantly, delicious food for reasonable money, with a nice atmosphere and wonderful service. I was there twice during my stay in Zamosc, once alone because I was the only one hungry, the rest ate earlier in the pierogi shop, which I didn't like, and I ate salmon soup and pork chop with fries and salads, I left feeling as full as a meal and everything was fresh and delicious in a few days. again we were wondering what to eat and where, so I took my family to this particular restaurant, everyone left full, we didn't spend a fortune, it was delicious and nice, again I ate salmon soup, I really recommend it, it was a finger licking sensation, and the kids had chicken soup, spaghetti and pancakes, and my wife and everyone had dumplings with groats. satisfied and everyone liked it. If we are ever in Zamość again, we will definitely come for dinner. Greetings ladies from Old Town Cafe

Mir Castle is a 16th-century fortification located on a 27-hectare property. The castle has been recently renovated and converted into a museum featuring displays about the life and times of the Radziwills. Inside, visitors can find beautifully restored interiors with over 120 items to learn about through an audioguide. The castle also houses an eatery and souvenir shop. Its reflection in an adjoining pond creates a magnificent sight similar to that of Disney's castles.

It was an absolutely fabulous experience. My 9-year-old daughter enjoyed it the most. An absolute must when you are in Belarus. The town close by also has historical significant sights and is worth a visit. Some touristy stalls outside the grounds sell souvenirs. Town shops give good service with a market on weekends. The pharmacist went out of her way to help me and speak english.

Interesting renovated castle in Belarus, good for a day trip. Kids will love the uneven steps and small passageways that take you to the top of the towers, older adults less so .
Good exhibitions on the history of the castle, including its time as a concentration camp for Jews who were almost all sadly massacred.
Rather bizarrely you can stay here overnight as a small hotel has opened in one small area. It certainly would be an experience, but one I am happy to miss :-)

This castle complex was by far my favorite tourist attraction in Belarus. It has been meticulously restored and the ticket covers entry to all aspects of the complex including the museum and cathedral. The signage was good and the personnel were friendly. The nearby Radziwill castle could learn about customer service from this castle. You could spend as much time as you like here and enjoy the beautiful parks surrounding the complex. I recommend at least one night in Mir to see the castle illuminated at night, at sunrise and at sunset. If I had known you can book a room in the castle I would have done that!

(Translated by Google) How could you not think so about visitors? The presence of a cafe on site is, of course, good, but who in their right mind would put a barrier in the form of a fee of 35 rubles just for entry? Do drivers have nowhere to spend time when they have to wait for several hours? Nothing to breathe but greed? The idea of moving the cafe outside the paid zone seems so obvious - people could relax, drink coffee, without worrying about having to fork out money because of it. But no, let's make it harder and squeeze some more money out of them, right? No, this is complete nonsense and a huge minus for the organizers. Think about people, not just your pocket!

Every year the complex becomes more and more interesting. Its main advantage is people: enthusiasts involved in their work, mini-guides in thematic sections (pharmacy, dressing shop, weaving, collegium, etc.). An amazing restaurant that offers the best flasks in Belarus in my opinion! Definitely "recommended" for tasting!!!
Of the minuses:
1) everything is as before - access roads !!!
2) a seller-guide in a cheese factory/bakery: yes, we are not the first time and we come here purposefully for kravt bread/goat cheese, and, perhaps, we are already recognized/remembered, but... still about one of the most interesting locations complex, you should say a few words, offer to taste the products, and not the ubiquitous principle "no naseru, no dzyakui ...

(Translated by Google) The place is interesting, a large well-kept area, many locations, the opportunity to buy souvenirs and have a snack. But work with groups of tourists is organized disgustingly. I consider the situation when a group arrives at the agreed time (!) and waits for the start of the excursion under the gate for 2-3 hours under the sun, in the dust in the middle of a field, where there is no opportunity to sit down, to be unacceptable. People sat down on the grass and stumps. They explained that more than 70 groups/buses arrived on one day, which is why there was such a long wait. Sorry, but if the capacity is not so great, if there are not enough guides, if you are not able to provide the stated services, then why do you sign up so many groups for one day? Thank you that there is at least a toilet outside the perimeter and the opportunity to buy water.
Last year we didn’t encounter such a problem, but yesterday’s trip discouraged us from visiting the park as part of a group. I advise you to take individual tickets without the services of a guide. Or take blankets with you so that you can sit down while waiting and not on bare grass. I also recommend taking alcohol and some snacks from home - prices there are 2 times higher.

The Nesvizh Radziwiłł Castle is an ancient stone palace with octagonal corner towers and a Baroque chapel added at a later time. Very clean and beautiful place! The castle itself is pretty compact, but the territory and nature around is wonderful. Pick at least 3-4 hours for this visit.

Extremely great and beautiful castle ! I have never seen anything like this before! Every step makes you wonder! Every room is more beautiful than previous. It is not like ordinary museum, it is like castle still inhabited by people. You can see furniture, dresses, paintings , curtains, bedrooms, even tables are set up for the dinner. You must visit it!

Very professional restoration and beautiful grounds. I entered from the parking for hotel visitors. The ticket office was closed in the castle entrance and the guard did not understand my question as to where to go. There are poor markings for this information. A young man across the street at a period photo souvenir stand was helpful. I had to go to the other parking lot. When I finally got my ticket and entered, there was no instruction of where to go for the castle tour entrance. To be the number one tourist castle in Belarus the management here needs to improve the experience. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the grounds and the history. The miniature opera house was amazing.

Nice place to visit at Belorus! Better to take a guide especially if you are with children as he can make amazing advertising during the visit for the children of 9-12 days!( unfortunately we forget the name of the guide but he was just amazing!) besides there are some extra things to do with children near the castle or just to sit with beloved person on a branch with the view on nice lake…

Amazing experience. Every single detail has been restored and it feels like it's a king's home and not the museum. We had visited it in winter, but it was really worm and cozy inside. Performance of local singers in historical clothes was unexpected but great!

The best place in Belarus to visit. Rich halls inside, 4 wide gardens and handmade lake outside. This is one of those places, where you can see wealth and heritage of belarusian culture.
Public zoo with a petting farm and kids' play area, as well as animals such as zebra and tigers.
Was interesting, lot different animals, monkeys are so fun))) but there is no elephans.
Any way also good place for walk with kids ))

It's a beautiful little zoo which is built into the woods. That's why you feel the connection to nature and the animals are a little more in their natural habitat.
There are quite many different animals, but generally the space for each animal could be bigger.
Also to go into the very small terrarium you have to pay extra and enter through separate entrance. The terrarium's animals really have only little space, e.G. snakes which only barely fit in their cage. Therefore one star less.
Additionally there is a little playground for children to play, with attractions. The use of the playground is included in the base price, but the attractions again cost extra.
Tl;Dr;
All in all a nice zoo with many different animals and a nice atmosphere. Children will have a good time here, due to a nice playground and the connection to nature.

Visited August 2017. I'm not a fan of Zoo's in any country and this is no exception. I dislike the small cages/confines the animals are kept in. That said, this is slightly better than other zoo's I have been to in Ukraine. It seemed cleaner and less smelly. Nice cafe, good seating placed within so you can take a short break if required. This is a place to take the kids.

Large park with lot of space for animals thus providing more comfortable conditions for keeping. Good variety of species, and terrarium area provides access not only to reptiles and insects but to some specific mammals like bats, fennec fox, armadillo, etc. So consider it as a must see addition. The park itself is a good place for family visits. Large recreation area alows to plan even picnic weekends.
The Sergei Pavlovich Korolyov Museum of Cosmonautics offers a variety of exhibits including space suits, gadgets, and satellites, as well as films and lectures. It is located in the town of Zhytomyr and provides visitors with an impressive insight into the history of the Soviet Cosmology program. The museum emphasizes Ukraine's crucial role in the development of the space program and its ability to provide design for NASA and the European Space Agency.
We we're visiting this place as part of our visit to the town of Zhytomyr. Mayor of Zhytomyr invited us for business visit and we olbliged. We had very qualified guide for one hour tour . Her way of explaining the history of space program and how Ukraine and it's scientists played a very crucial role was impressive. She narrated the history without biase and prejudice. At the end of the tour we requested for photograph and she obliged us

Sergei Pavlovich Korolev worked as the lead Soviet rocket engineer and spacecraft designer during the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union in the 1950s and 1960s. He is regarded by many as the father of practical astronautics.

Though I haven't visited this place yet, hearing about his hard work and contributions to Soviet Union's space exploration through Safari TV by Santhosh George Kulangara from India has filled me with excitement. I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to visit here.

Very interesting museum, honoring a very important space scientist, but needs much more advetising and publicity.

What a gem! Made a detour of several hundred kilometres to visit this place and were nearly denied entry due to early closure on independence day. Fortunately the kind staff showed sympathy and let us in on the condition we were quiet and didn't disturb the talk on mushrooms (?!) being given in the museum. Thank you! Loads of very cool stuff including a real Soyuz reentry capsule that successfully made the trip...

Brilliant guided tour here English. Great and enriching insight into the story Soviet Cosmology and its amazing feats of engineering. Most impressed by the significance of Ukraine's part in it and its later capacity to provide design for NASA and the European Space Agency.
Restored fortlike paper mill with landscaped grounds & exhibits of religious icons & sculptures.
Great castle. As suggested by other contributors take a blanket and some food with you, you can arrange your own picturesque picnic. Worth visiting the show where they replicate making of paper and printing the way it had been done centuries ago. This show starts at the beginning of each hour, if I'm not mistaken.
It took our family of 3 couple hours to enjoy the castle and its premises.

Really nice location, beautiful scenery and design. The castle itself is well renovated and preserved. However, we stayed for two nights and were extremely disappointed by the food and service. The food served by the hotel restaurant is simple and too expensive. We felt like we were bothering them. The room was not cleaned the second day and we were told by the personal that this was common practice.
Special thank you note to Yuliya who was really helpful, professional and hospitable.

Nicely maintained place, there is a park outside and a well kept estate with a hotel and medieval icons museum inside. Everything is beautiful, though the territory is rather small and it's hard to spend more than 2 hours here. A boat can be rent beside the lake.

A lot more interesting than it looks overall, there's a huge assortment of religious paintings collected with different painting styles from all over Ukraine. Park is beautifully maintained. There's nothing to visit around it though, and the road to it is pretty bad - riddled with holes that can potentially damage your car.

Awesome place, a must see! Best in the Summer or Spring time when the flowers are in full bloom. Great place for a date also. Shows a lot of great history of this area and the major trade routes that passed in through here back in the day.

Nice, cosy and clean place, neat surrounding park. The castle is in very good condition. The only reason not to mark five stars is that interior is fully commemorated to religious icons and there is almost no medieval or related items.

Castle – the Museum of Ukrainian Home Icons. They were painted in XVII-XX centuries. Its exhibition of Christian art objects, named “The Soul of Ukraine”, is the biggest one in Ukraine. Today they are open for visitors of the Museum’s exhibition halls where has been collecting and saving from destruction over 5000 home icons for 15 years.
This collection represents the philosophy of thousand Ukrainian families from different regions of the country audits evolution throughout centuries. But in all times the Ukrainian home icons have been family heirlooms painted for individual spiritual needs of every person in family. Here you can find home Iconostasis /wall of icons/, small travelling icons, Cossack icons, Hutsul folding icons, the icons painted on canvas, casted of metal and carved on wood and also ancient wooden and stone sculptures. Travelers call all museum exhibits as “orphan” icons, thrown out of houses and saved from destruction in the times of aggressive atheism. Some of them were damaged when faith of God was persecuted.
Paper Mill Reviving good traditions of the paper mill of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the manual production of paper, practiced by Orthodox monks 400 years ago, for further book-publishing, was restored in the Castle. The Castle’s paper production line uses the same equipment that was used in XVII century. The paper made in Radomysl was used for printing “Chasoslov” (The Book of Hours”) – the first book ever published in Kyiv, in 1616.
The Castle’s Landscape Park, little but comfortable and nice. Only here you can see a dozen of unique kinds of iris, bred and granted to the Park by Igor Khorosh, a Ukrainian plant breeder; pink and white water lilies, English roses, magnolias and also a water-nut, Trapa rossica, enlisted into The Red Book. All exhibits are genuine!

Great getaway place w Bed@Breakfast. Taste the local food with waiters serving in folk outfits. Great customer service. If you value Ukrainian traditional icons, they have a great collection on exhibition
