This has got to be the saddest place on earth.
The extortionate ticket price does not include half of the attractions (even the most expensive ticket is not all-inclusive). Everything other than the water park is run down, broken, dirty, or simply weathered by time. All the animals except ostriches are cheap plastic replicas (not even realistic ones), and the ostriches looked so depressed that I'm sure they followed me around the fence asking me for help.
The 7D cinema is a shack, with some cheaply-made animations and moving chairs and water sprays that don't align with the film. The rope park was not included in the ticket price and looked so unsafe I would not have gone on it myself, let alone let my children on. The 'educational' attractions don't appear to have received any maintenance or cleaning since they were installed (probably 20 years ago). Many are broken, all are dirty. The 'amphitheatre' has burnt down, and the charred rubble is now crumbling into the lake.
The one redeeming feature of this place was the water park. It's adequate. However, to get to the water park, you have to take a convoluted path, and the hotel owners make it intentionally difficult to access, even if you are by entrance for hotel guests. Under no circumstances can you buy food to have by the pool.
Overall, this place was expensive, and falling apart. The business will no doubt go under in the next two years. I would recommend the owners just pack it in now, rather than perpetuate their own misery, let alone that of the staff and disappointed guests.

Very overpriced for the small number of worn out dismal attractions. Don’t waste your time or money on a visit you will only be desperately disappointed with unsatisfied children.
Ed Wills — Google review
Don't waste your time and money to go here! I never have been to such an outdated and poorly maintained park.
World's biggest inflated castle wasn't inflated, the 7D cinema posters were better then the real thing, the carousel was not online, as well as the big balloon.
You had to pay for a child to play in a small indoor playground.
All the other things that were open were outdated, poorly held and colored over the years.
A total waste of your time and money, a big disappointment!
Tijmen van Binsbergen — Google review
I am not familiar with this protoslavic hamlet of Rosenau, but most of the attractions seemingly fondly remember better days. I didn't feel comfortable letting our kids play with half the equipment, either because it looked unsafe by design or by virtue of wear and tear. The other half was out of order. Generally, the attractions were borrowed from other South Polish theme parks - reminiscent of Krasiejow, Zloty Stok, the science garden in Krakow - a painful reminder of the days out that were far more enjoyable for us.
The aquapark part - which cost us approximately an extra £10 per participant (60 PLN) was meant to be the saving grace, only there were no lockers, so one of the adults had to sit in the scorching sun (the ticket/wristband inspector asked us to vacate the only seat under a parasol) watching the bags.
Overall, would not recommend, unless visiting Poland for its postsoviet vibes
The Wrocław Africarium is a large zoological garden and oceanarium that contains exhibits of over 1,000 different animals from Africa. It is one of the oldest working zoos in Poland, and open all year round. The zoo also has an exhibit devoted to the flora and fauna of the Dark Continent, which are unique on an international scale.
A excellent place to spend with your family; The kids loved it; Various animals and everything is so near, you think you can touch the animals by hand; the Zoo is arranged very cleverly and the numerous signs everywhere help you find everything conviniently and enjoy your visit; The price is not cheap - but it is worth the money;

Very good experience. Plenty of water life to see and good size tanks /displays. This is set in the main zoo. Lots of educational stuff and displays. Loved seeing hippos and the seal lions / penguins and sharks. Possibly the highlight was the large turtle.
Bri Willo — Google review
A part of Wrocław ZOO (you can go in on a regular ZOO ticket). It's really worth it. There are tunnels inside aquariums, hippos, seals and free birds flying around. Mind you it's meant to mimic African climate so it's hot and humid inside. If I were to complain about something it's that the modern building doesn't really fit the historical buildings in the rest of the ZOO
Kamil Brzakala — Google review
Huge zoo and well worth the money spent for a ticket. Lots of animals and facilities, the flora was also very impressive. You can spend a whole day there. We bought tickets online, scanned the barcode and entered the zoo. Bring your own food our have a meal at their bistro. Lots of vending machines if you want to grab a quick snack or get souvenirs.

A magical place within the city! No picture does the place justice. You have to go and live the experience! all those playful and happy animals in their incredible replica of their natural habitat Makes you forget you're inside a building . Amazing the job they did. Must visit in Wroclaw

Amazing place to visit while you’re in this large Wroclaws ZOO. Would be good to implement traffic wardens who would push those hundreds of people through, system similar to some of the larger museums - no way back and no blocking. Queue times are ridiculous but definitely worth waiting.

Good place to visit with family or just on a nice day to relax, place wasn't very crowded, had many things to see, nice enclosures for the animals, you can spend a few hours in there. To get in you have to go inside the zoo. Definitely worth seeing

Our visit to the Wroclaw Africarium with my family was an unforgettable experience filled with wonder and excitement.
The highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking underwater tunnel, where we were surrounded by graceful sharks and colorful fish, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
A visit to the Wroclaw Africarium is a must for families seeking adventure, education, and pure joy!
Felipe Almeida — Google review
The overall planning is good. There are some facilities to assist children and drinking water. Although some enclosures are empty or under renovation, it does not affect the knowledge about animals conveyed here, and it can be seen that the animals are well taken care of. I really like the pavilion of cold-blooded animals and mimicry, but it was a pity that it closed too early and I couldn't finish it.

This is a must-see spot for people travelling to Wrocław with their family. The transportation by tram is easy from the city center. The building is right by the ZOO’s entrance. It houses all kinds of fish, mammals, birds and reptiles. There is a large seal and pinguin sanctuary. The restaurant resembles a passenger ship and offers a nice top view to see the penguins. It can get crowded on weekends. It is definetely worth checking out. Kids love it!!!!
Artur Ciegotura — Google review
We've spent literally hours there and I would gladly spend even more time. It's a tremendously well thought out and built attraction where you can watch animals in ab environment very close to their natural one. There are beautiful views including a tunnel over which sharks, turtles and other creatures freely swim. I loved the experience immensely.

This was an experience I'd remember for all my life.
I saw how a giant hippo was swimming under the water. It was amazing!
The atmosphere when you're inside the giant aquarium is unforgettable.
I wish I could spend a few hours every day there. It's like meditation.
The kids were happy too.
I highly recommend this place to all Wroclaw visitors.

The Africarium in Wrocław adds another layer of excitement to the city's zoo experience!
This specialized section immerses visitors in the wonders of African aquatic life. With a separate admission fee, it's a unique opportunity to explore marine ecosystems showcasing African flora and fauna. The interactive exhibits, informative displays, and vibrant marine life contribute to an educational and visually stunning journey.
Whether you're fascinated by underwater worlds or simply seeking a captivating extension to your zoo visit, the Africarium is a must-see attraction in Wrocław.

A bit crowded, best part of Wroclaw Zoo without this one probably I would count the visit as mistake. All water attractions looks a bit dirty - don’t know if it’s a matter of water or dirty glass. Should be addressed by Staff as it breaks animal experience for everyone. Under aquarium tunnel and under water windows makes great experience - zoo should somehow control amount of people- crowds all over this attraction makes difficult any movement around.
Kamil NOWAK — Google review
It's such a huge zoo that it took me 4 hours to get around it completely...I highly recommend going on Friday to see the wolves before 12:00 noon! Because we were not warned and didn't see them there. You should also get your tickets online because there are long lines.

It's a really amazing zoo. Plan an entire day for your visit here to spend time seeing all the animals and birds.
The aquarium is the highlight.
Parking close by. Restaurants present inside the zoo.

Very clean ZOO with great aquarium. I really appreciated the cleanliness of the water and glass. The part where you can sit and just relax is a great idea. Though not sure how it will be during busy times. Definitely will recommend everyone to visit. For sure, nothing is perfect, but I left with 5 star feeling. Haven't eaten there.
Jakub Tomka — Google review
Some places of the zoo are really nice and animals look well taken care of, but we were disappointed with the monkeys. They were all stressed, angry or depressed looking, and that building where there is one old chimpanzee sitting behind bars on a bathroom like floor is really sad. Looks like zoos from the 60s or something. This Zoo definitely needs more reconstructions and enrichment for animals. Please don't let those poor monkeys suffer.

A lovely day at the zoo.
Lots to navigate and a delicious finale at the bistro.
It seems most animal are well cared for, with the exception of some with small areas to roam. The birds seem distressed and unhappy and I think the monkeys are plotting a coup to overthrow the management staff.
Otherwise, a lovely experience.

Ostrów Tumski, also known as Cathedral Island, was once an island and is now the oldest part of Wrocław, originating from the 10th century. To reach this area, visitors must cross the Tumski Bridge on foot, which connects with Wyspa Piasek island over the Oder River. The Gothic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist was constructed in the 13th century and is centrally located amongst museums, monuments, gardens and churches.
The Panorama of the Battle of Raclawice is a 360-degree painting of the 1794 battle, which commemorates the Polish victory against Russia. It features the city of Wroclaw and surrounding areas, as well as maps and videos providing context.
Fabulous 360 degree panorama depicting scenes from this famous battle. The central circular platform provides very good viewing and it's been created in such a way that the ground between the canvas and the viewing platform becomes part of the Battle scene and merges into the canvas creating an almost 3D effect. It's useful to pick up an audio guide which takes you through and explains the scenes depicted in this huge painting. Sessions every 30 minutes, I didn't book in advance but went early. This is a very popular attraction.

Interesting place, amazing huge picture and story, but a bit too long story, if you are not passionate about history, you might get lost after 10 minutes or so....
Maybe they could show a bit the restauration process or something else to make it more attractive.
Lots of kinds came to visit with schools and they seems to be bored very fans and they become noisy, constantly disturbing you from the story.
Four stars for this unique beautiful picture, it is worthy to see it.

Must see place when visiting Wroclaw, we have booked tickets in advance and one of us was unable to visit, there were no issues with returning one of the tickets. Next to the impressive painting there is another small area where history of the painting is explained.
Feliz Pete — Google review
Well worth a visit. You have to see it in person to actually appreciate the incredible amount of detail as well as the work done in blending the painting into the real foreground.

A fantastic history lesson. Very well organised and translations available. The panoramic is amazing.

I am not a war watching sort of person, this is an art experience above anything else. I found this truly wonderful and personally don't think it should be missed.
I figure you know your own kids well enough, though most kids should be okay with this relatively short tour.
As this is popular don't rock up and expect to just get in. I would suggest booking online is essential.
Finally to make the whole experience more pleasant here are some tips
- bring your water
- ensure your phone is turned to mute.
- toilets are clean, get there early and go.
- Language kit's should be planned for.
- Grab a seat while waiting as limited seats
- Don't worry about the long queue stay seated and be last.

Very interesting and beautiful - many languages available for the presentation. The history of how Poland protected this gem from destruction during WWII was fascinating.

I was very interested to see this Panorama as it is the second of that kind that I see and the other one is in my home town Pleven, Bulgaria. If not other, it is an amazing piece of art and it shows an important historic al moment. It's sad that it is the only one that survived in Poland. Buy tickets in advance, when we came to the desk it turned out that we could buy tickets for no earlier than the next day.
Лъчезар Арсов — Google review
Interesting place to visit.
However not very organized.
The place is numbered on the floor and the visit doesnt follow this sequence making it difficult to understand what is being described.
The balcony is very low and it is hard to stand for 30 minutes not leaning to anything, specially after a full day of visiting the city.
After the narrator finishes the story you are rushed outside of the building, when you would expect to stay at least more 10 minutes to admire the painting.
Rui Pinho — Google review
An absolute must see when you are in Wroclaw. The scale and quality of the panorama is of course impressive, but it is matched by the purpose built rotunda and the physical landscape that merges seamlessly with the artwork. Tours are every half hour so you get 30 minutes in the rotunda and are guided by an audio description of the battle. Make sure you grab a free audio guide if you don't speak Polish.

Unique painting of 360 degrees that you can not miss! A piece of the history of Poland can be felt with a big amount of realism, I really recommend this place!
Jo?o Concei??o — Google review
Upon first inspection I thought the price was going to be a little too high for the outcome, but once inside I realized that was not the case. The painting and the way it blends into “real-life” is quite incredible. The story behind it was actually my favorite part and I highly recommend acquiring the audio guide in your language to aid in your understanding. I can’t imagine the work that went into this absolute masterpiece, especially given it was created in the 1800’s. An absolute must see in Wroclaw.
Llamo — Google review
Unique opportunity to see panoramic painting of Battle of Raclawice.
There are just a few of those paintings around the world, so if you are in Wroclaw, it's a must-see.
Book your tickets online in advance. If you try to buy walk-in tickets, it's very likely that you will have to wait for your time slot for at least an hour.
Don't come too early. You will have to stand in the hall in a kind of awkward crowd as nobody manages the queue. If you have a big bag/backpack, you can leave it for free in the cloakroom.
Visiting rotunda takes 30 minutes. Entrance slots are every half an hour. Staff checks tickets and lets the whole group inside the rotunda. There is an audio guide played through speakers when you are inside the rotunda, but I recommend getting a personal free audio guide available from staff once you enter Rotunda. That will let you see painting at your own pace, not following the rest of the group moving around in a crowd.
Marcin Zawislak — Google review
Note that this is a guided talk for the painting about 20 minutes. You need to book a few hours in advance, this place sells out each tour. The tour runs every 30 minutes and there is no other way to see the painting (the tour is worth it).
This is an amazing painting. One of the most profound experiences I've seen. Highly, highly recommended -this is an art piece like nothing I've seen before and with an exceptionally high wow factor.
Par Botes — Google review
Its a great place for the history lovers, the painting is almost 15 m long and it depicts the battle of Raclawicka in a great manner.
There will a tour of 30 minutes which includes commentary in different languages, you can choose as per your choice.
Ashish Sharma — Google review
Very interesting piece of history, it's worth the 10-15 minute walk from the center of Wrocław to go and experience the 360° live panorama with amazing sound system making it insanely realistic.
The history behind this is very facinating and I definitely recommend researching into the creation of this museum as it's not as straight forward as you would expect. It's good for all age groups, definitely recommend if you're visiting Wrocław.
Dave Duesberry — Google review
It is a great painting. However, I was mislead by the impression of it being animated something of the battle, so at the moment I was disappointed. Also the exhibition is in polish, if you want to know what they're saying, you have to ask the nice lady to give you translation device, which for whole 30 minutes you have to annoyingly hold like a phone to your ear....but in the end, it was beautiful.
Kateřina Puklová — Google review
Visiting the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice is akin to stepping back in time to witness a pivotal moment in history, captured on an epic scale. This amazing piece of historic treasure offers an immersive experience that is both educational and awe-inspiring. The overall tour lasts approximately 30 minutes, a perfect duration to appreciate the grandeur without feeling rushed. However, a hidden gem not to be missed is the mini panorama view on the ground floor, which provides a unique perspective and adds depth to your visit. The painting itself is nothing short of breathtaking. The level of detail, the scale, and the way it captures the essence of a significant historical event are truly remarkable. This attraction is universally appealing, making it a must-visit for history buffs, art lovers, and anyone looking to experience a unique piece of cultural heritage. The Panorama of the Battle of Racławice is not just a painting; it's a powerful reminder of the past, presented in a way that is accessible and engaging for all.

I think I'm really a fan of panoramas like this. Unlike ones I've seen in the DPRK, Syria and France, this one isn't viewed from a motorised central seating area, but you can walk around, (with an audioguide if you don't speak polish). This one is however much older (19th century, although in great nick). It commemorates a dramatic, but ultimately fruitless victory by a (largely) peasant polish army over the russians and is full of romantic and dramatic scenes of hussars, cossacks, tartars and the like slaughtering each other and/oor charging artillary, as well as details like the peasant extinguishing the fuse on a cannon with his hat The uniforms are exactly what you imagine when you think of dashing cavalry. Downstairs there is a section that explains, alternately, the story of the painting itself and the wider story of the battle, though the latter is a bit hard to follow for non polish speakers. Technically I think it is a masterpiece of realism, and the way the foreground melds into the painting is very impressive. NB I think the ticket here gets you into the nearby National Museum (which is also very good) for free.

The Slaughtered Animals Monument in Wroclaw is a unique and interesting place to visit. Located near handcraft shops and popular pubs, the monument pays homage to the animals that were traded for meat in the Middle Ages. The sculptures serve as a reminder of the historical market practices where only "clean" produce could be traded at Rynek and Colth Hall, leading to the trading of meat at a distance.
Interesting place to go in Wroclaw.
The memorial to Slaughtered Animals in Wrocław.
In the Middle Ages, this place was a terrible place for animals💀, but a pretty good place to buy meat 🍖.
Now you can find some nice little shops...
Max MLE — Google review
Despite the handcraft shops that there are to be discovered and one of the pubs with popular «pub quizs», you will undoubtely notice the animal sculptures.
They were placed there as an hommage to them, but not because they were heroes or something like this... In an earlier time when the Rynek and the Colth hall were used as a market place, not every produce could be traded there, but those supposed clean. It meant that meat had to be selled and bought a bit farther. Thus little street not far was the chisen place. In fact just in front of the animals you will still find the wood doors on the floor were merchants kept the meat (and themselves) underground to offer it to the people passing by without spreading their smell.

If hiking isn't your thing they also have scope to hold great party's with there open roofed fire pits with covered seating creating a magical atmosphere to enjoy an open flame with friends with whilst in the stunning gardens!
But if cooking your own food on the flame isn't your thing and you don't want to bring sandwiches from home there is a beautiful restaurant in the main courtyard where you can order food and get refreshments from the bar.

This place is really amazing, I liked how well it was restored and views from this fortress are very nice. Guide was wearing authentic clothes and the most impressive thing during tour was shooting from a old gun.
Although what I didn't really like was that there were no translations to English language on any kind of place, maybe that's because this place isn't visited a lot by other nationality tourists?! I don't know... But as this fortress claims to be one of the biggest in Europe I think it should have quite a lot more translations.

The citadel was built in 12 years and it's the biggest of this kind in Europe. The musket shot done by a guide was really amazing! However a tour might be a bit longer.

Really nice place which is still growing. Hard climb on the way up but with small game which you may participate. This helps with the climb and provides some competition. You also need to be there when they fire the cannon. It is worth to wait for a guided tour as they also shoot an old weapon. It's all good and well but the single item missing is a good place to eat. Apart from that there is a lot to see a fire range, cannon and much more. Nice views.

Great place! Really interesting tour.
Downsides are reconstruction and lack of any info in English.
Europe's largest wooden religious venue, this ornate church has Baroque interiors, tours & services.
Very impressive! This is probably one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen.
The lady at the ticket desk is very friendly.
It's not possible to go upstairs and see the balconies, but also from the ground this church is incredibly beautiful.

Unfortunately only the grounds were accessible,so I couldn't go inside...I believe it doesn't open up again until April so don't trust the opening hours on here

Normally, I don't fancy visiting churches and cathedrals. It's true, they are typically the oldest and the most monumental buildings around. But having seen many of them you get the experience of "yet another one of those" kind.
This church is different.
One thing is it's history (why it was build in that place and with this technique). Another is a very different than usual aesthetics of the place. It is as impressive inside as it is outside. Then you have all the buildings around.
It is really the place to visit in Swidnica.

This church is absolutely stunning!!! It is the monument from the UNESCO World Heritage List, Monument of History, the largest wooden Baroque temple in Europe!!!, one of the seven new wonders of Poland according to "National Geographic". Lutheran community, was to build the church only outside the city walls, without towers and bell tower, only from perishable materials: wood, sand, straw and clay. It couldn't look like a church, and it couldn't have been built for more than a year. It was to be a very modest church that was not to stand the test of time. But it still lasts :))

One of two churches in Lower Silesia Region present on UNESCO list of monuments , one name given to both - Churches of Peace. Both of wooden construction, very richly decorated. Very interesting buildings. Must see on the list of real globetotter.

It was closed on August 15th, but we just stopped by as we were passing through the same road from ksiaz castle to Wroclaw. The surrounding was open and we could get some idea about history of the church through the boards installed. The wood feels and smells really old. There's a cemetery right next to the church in the same compound. Couldn't give more details because we couldn't get inside.

Had no plans to visit here. Just followed Tourist Attraction signs we found on way to Wroclaw Airport.
Were disappointed to find we could only access the grounds. But then....local explained slowly we should wait a few minutes. Lucky we saw him as the guide arrived to open the church at 10AM.
Not bad for a mid-December visit!
Useful pamphlet in English helped, with the audio presentation.
Stunning, incredible 17th Century religious iconography.
To build something like this, from perishable materials (meant to last a short while only) and to have it still open and accessible today is a wonder.
Well worth UNESCO status and well worth visiting.

Amazing amazing amazing. Did I say that this was one of the most amazing churches in Europe. I am truly amazed by this place. When you walk in the door you will see a counter you have to pay an entrance fee to enter. They give you a piece of paper in your language. The guide they gave me was in English. Unfortunately I had a difficult time reading it as it was not very grammatically correct. Other than that it was just a wonderful place. I can honestly say that I've been to hundreds of churches in Europe in this ranks in the top 10 easily. One of the things that I liked is while you're in the church there are explanations of each different section of the church with descriptions of the passages and what the different paintings mean. The announcements are in different languages to include English which was a lot better than the guide. Please take a look at the pictures because this place is incredible. The grounds around the outside are also very unique and there's several cemeteries around the church itself. I highly highly recommend this church

Only half of the tables are occupied. 30 minutes of waiting for a waiter did not bring results. It is impossible to order something yourself at the bar... I do not recommend this place to anyone!!!

The Church of Peace... a very large church that was built in the 17th century despite of many restrictions. The church is built of wood, clay, sand and straw. The decoration inside is something incredible
The Underground City Osówka is a fascinating tourist attraction located in the Ani plateau, characterized by hundreds of caves that have been carved out over time for various purposes such as dwellings, animal shelters, churches and pigeon houses. Among these caves are a network of tunnels and rooms built during WWII by Nazi slave workers, whose purpose remains unknown to this day. While the research on this underground city has been limited, visitors can explore it with a guide who shares stories about its history and significance.
An adventure and a mystery. We were guided for over an hour through the underground tunnels built to unknown purpose in the WWII. I enjoyed the stories told by our guide - clearly passionate about the topic.

Great experience, unfortunately it's impossible to buy tickets online and we had to wait for an hour for the next entry. But it was worth it :)

Another architectural marvel from the Nazis tucked in the vastness of Sowie Mountains in the Sudetes. The sheer brilliance and location of the underground location is a testimony to the fact that they were way ahead of the time. But the atrocities inflicted upon the enslaved people is way beyond our comprehension. Osówka is one of the complexes of project Riese initiated by Hitler during WWII. The location of the underground complex says it all, and there is no way you can even see it from a distance. It's amazing. Don't miss it when you are around

Very interesting place! Did both tours. The "special" tour is only in Polish and will take you through the flooded part of the tunnels. Its approximately 200m in the dark but you get a flashlight along. This is the only extra compared to the normal tour
The normal tour is with an audio-guide in English, French, German or Czech. Together with the guide you'll walk trough the illuminated tunnels. At every stop he tells something in Polish and as a non Polish person you can listen to the audio-guide.
Both tours take app. 50 minutes.
The guides speak a bit of English so you can ask them for some extra info.
After the tour is finished you can walk up the mountain to see the casino and the ruins. An intense but nice walk.

It's an amazing place to spend one hour, make sure you take a jacket and proper footwear. The audio guide comes at $1 and is a must if you don't speak polish.

Look, you've got to give credit to the work that is done here to enable people to visit these underground structures.
The place breathes history and learning (again) what these slave labourers had to endure can only bring tears to your heart. But seeing what they had to do with your own eyes, standing right there, makes it even harder. It is a must do when you are around, just to make the horrors of war slave labour more tangible. Something that we may not forget.
That being said, there are some elements that could improve. Though it seemed that the Polish guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything in a lot of detail, it is not the case for the English audioguide. Clearly, there was information lacking, stories that we've missed (even references to spiders living in the underground complex) and stories shortened. The movies displayed were well-translated, but the rest not so much. Other visitors with audioguides clearly had a similar experience as we were standing to up to 10mins just waiting around.
I would recommend visiting the halls below Ksiaz Castle for a better audioguide experience in English on the Riese project. However, the complex itself is more impressive at Osowka.
Maybe do both!

Great piece of history. Highly recommended for WWII lovers. Our tour guide - Daniel, showed great knowledge and passion. He only spoke polish. On that day they didn't have an english speaking tour guide, we called before and asked what options we have. My partner is british so that time he had to take headphones. Information given on headphones where briefed. We thought he missed a bit of interesting information, which I had to tell him later. We recommend to always have a guide. We chose "history tour" option, but there are few more to choose from. Overall we loved it

The place is spooky. It is quite cool to see the WW2 project. It is unfortunate that the poland tour guide does not speak english. I feel like he provided more information than the audio guide! I wish I knew polish!!!!
Książ Castle, the largest castle in Lower Silesia, is a grand chateau-style complex situated on a hill overlooking the river Pelcznica and part of the Waldenberg mountains. Originally built in 1288 and expanded in the 16th century, it showcases Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo architectural styles. The castle offers guided tours with informative audioguides that seamlessly lead visitors through its rich history and art gallery.
This is a lovely castle, with a lot of history. Much of the interiors are unadorned compared to what they were, but the setting is stunning. It feels like stepping back in time, especially in the fall. There are paths to walk the grounds and access from the road is simple and scenic.

This is a beautiful castle with a lot of history. When you go in and purchase the ticket they give you several options one with the tour of the Underground included and I would recommend going that route as the tour underground is also very good. They will give you an audio guide that will walk you through the whole castle and give you the history and events that transpired through the years. The tour takes about the proximately 2 hours to complete with the audio guide and I like the way they set up their audio guide as you can skip ahead to something that interests you a little bit more which is a nice touch. The audio guide is location based. There is so much to see here and what I especially liked was the turn of the century pictures of everyday life. Some of the places in have amazing views of the surrounding Countryside and of the Immaculate Gardens. The gardens around the castle are just beautiful unfortunately the day I was there it was raining.

Did both the castle and the underground tour. As non-Polish speakers, we're very impressed by the audioguide. Works seamlessly as you walk through the castle and exhibition. Very much intrigued by the family history and a lot of information is provided. We spent hours, so make sure to have enough time if you want to visit other sights as well. Also with the underground tour, we didn't feel left out with the audioguide. All in all a very fun, informative day. Definitely worth a visit!

Overall a good day out for the whole family. 👍👌😁💥

Castle Ksiaz... there are a lot of things which I can write here about this castle. But surely it is just impossible to tell all interesting things about this castle here.... it is much better to open Wiki or other sources and read, there is a lot of interesting information including medieval history, Hitler's "golden trains" and many others. Or you must come, take an audio guide (included into entrance fee) and see & listen.... there are a lot of very interesting stories, there are many unsolved secrets even now. Enjoy the castle, the subterranean, the magical terraces...

Ksiaz Castle in Poland is an awe-inspiring gem! The castle's rich history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views make it an unforgettable experience. With over 400 rooms and a sprawling 316 hectares of grounds, Ksiaz Castle is a true marvel. Its grandeur and charm captivate visitors, while the surrounding landscape adds to the enchantment. A must-visit destination!

The price of the ticket is worth paying. Huge area to see. They gave an audio guide that automatically switches while you changing different halls. The audio guide is available in a few foreign languages. Parking is overpriced: next to Castle the price is 30 pln, further - 20 pln. And when you enter the castle there is a toilet with an entrance fee - 5 pln, which in my humble opinion should be included in the price of the ticket. Overall it is a great place to spend a day with a family or loved ones.

I enjoyed this place a lot. Very good destination to spend your weekend. Picturesque hiking routes of different difficulty level, underground tunnels of the third reich. I didn't enjoyed a lot the castle interiors, but from the outside it's probably the most beautiful castle I've ever seen. At the moment they have a very interesting photo exebition of the last chef. And nice cafe inside the castle (unfortunately you can visit it only when you are visiting the castle interiors, when we wanted to have a coffee there the next day after excursion, we were told that we should by ticket to the castle)

Very stunning castle. Interesting to see how it expanded over the centuries. During second world war germans dig out the tunnels under the castle, no one knows what purpose it was.

We just visited the castle from outside as we didn't have enough time to go for a tour. There's an individual or combined ticket for castle, palm house and the undergrounds. Car parking is not free after the security guard, unless you're visiting the castle hotel. You can park it in the open parking space before the security guard for free. There is an ice cream shop near the castle which is a necessity in hot summers. Not sure if there's any restaurant though. There's a small vertical sprinkler through which you can go to refresh yourself in hot weather. You can visit Viewpoint too, which is a small walk type trek for 15 minutes. There's a fresh corn stick seller, each for 8 PLN. You can bring park stuff (mats, food, play items etc) also for relaxation. There are a lot of gardens and you can sit anywhere. The place is definitely worth a day trip.

A self-paced tour of the castle was amazing! I was lucky to visit right before the Christmas decorations were going to be taken down, so it was twice the awe and pleasure.
Everything is so nicely organised, with the cheerful staff meeting you at the ticket desk, and then - second surpise with the Polish museums on this trip - a cloakroom employee kindly offering me a Ukrainian audio guide. Great thanks to the Castle team!
The exhibitions are a wonderful combination of the family history of the castle owners, of the Polish and world history impacting Ksiąz and its residents, and some terrific works of art.
It is also very efficient to have a "smaller tour" and a "broader tour with the family stories", so that you can choose what to listen to, also in terms of time available.
I listen to everything and loved it.
I learned a lot about the underground of Ksiąz and visited the Palm Garden 5-min drive away from the Castle (included in the ticket), with a huge collection of plants.

I recommend to visit underground with ww2 interesting history, too.
We were there on Saturday and it wasn't crowded so much.
Beautiful church made entirely out of timber! No metal used, no stones, even the nails keeping the planks together are wooden. No wonder it is a UNESCO site. There is an entry fee, and for taking photos there is another fee, so please remember to bring some cash with you.

Very beautiful Church made out of Timber. It is definitely worth a visit to this beautiful Church. There is an entry fee that is very minimal but they do not provide any guides in English. You have to look at the pictures to see how beautiful this church is inside. When we were there there were people working on the church refinishing portions of the art. (Translated by Google) Without a doubt, a must-see! The incredible impression made by the interior of the church is even greater when we realize that it was built within a year... Currently, it looks slightly different than in the original design - some of it was added later, along with levels decorated with coats of arms. The levels with biblical scenes are original. It is currently undergoing renovation, but this does not in any way prevent you from admiring the beautiful paintings, pulpit or altar. Entrance is ticketed, and visitors are presented with the history of the temple through loudspeakers placed in the church. This is one of two Churches of Peace that we can see, so it really is a gem...

To jeden z dwóch Kościołów Pokoju jakie możemy obejrzeć, więc naprawdę to perełka...

Picturesque cascade of water in a mountain environment, with a nearby hostel & hiking trails.
A beautiful waterfall, with nice scenery. To get to the waterfall, you have to purchase a ticket (fair price of 10zloty per adult, can pay by card) and wait a line, as you are allowed to go down to the waterfall only with a helmet (so you have to wait until people come back and give you the helmet). Worth the wait!

The walk up from the street parking was refreshing, although the last bit had quite an incline and required some stamina to conquer given it was trudging through snow and some ice, raczki highly recommended. The visit to the waterfall was a little adventure, what with the winding stairs descending into the gorge, the clear water in the creek at the bottom and the viewing platform at the end with the waterfall burbling enthousiastically the highlights of my visit. We had a tasty kielbaska and mulled wine at the schronisko next to the waterfall entrance, warming, good times. On the way back I sincerely wished for a sled or raczki, but all in all a satisfying and succesful visit.

A very nice waterfall, definitely worth a visit. Although the road is mostly uphill and very stony - very demanding, impossible with a stroller or bike, almost impossible for little kids.
Parking is paid but the machines accept cards.
At the water, there is a queue, you go down the stairs, with the obligation to wear a helmet which you get after paying for entrance - 12/6 zlotys.
A little higher on the hill there are food stalls and even some restaurants.
The place is overall very crowded.

Admirable waterfall! Located at the impressive gorge. If you make it in the morning you wont stay in the queue or be surrounded by plenty of other tourists. At the entrance you should wait to get a helmet for your safety. In the day place could be very crowded, especially at the weekends. Make sure you have comfortable trekking shoes. Also at the top there is small cafe and bus shuttle which could take you to the car parkings.

The road up is in very bad shape. At the beginning damaged by heavy machinery (sad look how the forest is getting wrecked). Waterfall itself is very nice..very short walk down to a viewpoint. Very beautiful waterfalls and a nice walk to them from Harrachov. There are two paths, one is more narrow, but it's nice and leads through the forest, we took it to reach the waterfalls, and returned by the wider road where people also went with skis. World War II prisoner-of-war camp, known for escape attempts & featured in The Great Escape film.
Excellent museum focusing on The Great Escape. Very interesting and informative. Nice exhibition and quite a few items.
You do need a car or a bike as there are three stations to go to separated by 1-2 km.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to go to the real great escape camp. My pops showed me this movie when I was 13 and I’ve watched it a lot throughout my life. So on my first euro trip I included Poland in it for a few days, rented a car and drove from Wroclaw, about 95 miles. The actual site is about a half a mile away from the museum which is really cool! The woman there didn’t speak English, you’re in zagan so it’s expected, I didn’t have cash, they require cash but she nicely let me in. I spent about two hours at stalag luft 3, there isn’t much there but remains, but it’s beautiful. Can’t believe I finally made it there.

Had an excellent experience and personal guided tour of the Museum Camps Stalag VIII C & Stalag Luft III by Museum Director Marek Lazarz. I had an uncle who was a POW in Stalag Luft III Nov 1944-Jan 1945. He survived. But I got to see the remains of the camps & tunnel memorial for the "Great Escape" in 1944. Truly an historical place of significance. Highly recommend a visit to this memorial to the past.

Really great place. Very friendly welcome, interesting museum complete with a tunnel you can go into. Very inexpensive and such good value. We also visited the exit site of Harry and wandered around where the hut was, saw the theatre, etc with helpful information boards. Definitely recommend. Thanks to the lovely man who served us and set up the TV room for us to play the film in English.

Nice museum. If you are a WW2 fanatic, it is a must see.
Be for warned that the English of the museum folks is very limited.
I wish I had gone to Pozan to see the graves of the 50.
Stay on the German side of the river for accommodations.

God bless Poland and Ukraine. We are with you. Stay strong.

Be aware that the museum doesn't open until 10am. That aside, it's a fantastic place to visit and helps to tell the story of life in Stalag Luft lll. I felt that I understood the escape much better after I had visited here and I consider it a must do for all fans of the story
Darren Jennings — Google review
Really a good museum over 3 sites the museum with a mocked up camp building, then another site where the site of Harry the tunnel is, then to the memorable site of the airmen were
Richard Silversides — Google review
The museum gives an insight to life in the starlags and the incredible bravery and endurance of the men held there.
There is a couple of mile between the museum, tunnel and cemeteries.

I was Lucky enough to miss a guided tour to Stalag luft III booked through Tripadvisor, full tour. Instead I contacted the musseum and was fortunate to get a tour with Marek.
The knowledge and passion of this man combined with the echo of history from the camp and museum made this a remarkeble day that I will remember every time I rewatch the movie. If you get the chanse, go there!

It's definitely worth the visit.'So much history here . Once you find what you're looking for, it all comes together . Some of the sites are not easy to find.

Glass Factory and Brewery Novosad & Son is a must-visit destination in Szklarska Poreba. The restaurant offers authentic Czech cuisine, including delicious ribs and schnitzel, complemented by a variety of tasty local beers. Visitors can also experience the living glassworks and take a tour of the factory, which is available in both Czech and English. The adjacent glass museum showcases beautiful items, adding to the overall experience.
First thing this restaurant has an English speaker which helped us a lot . The food is self is real Czech food, everything that we ordered came from a kitchen who is very familiar with the Czech kitchen. The ribs needs some hot spice but in the end everyone finished the plate, the kid’s of course took schnitzel 😏, the light beer was very tasty and I took a non-alcoholic beer which is matched to the food

Fabulous place to visit. Well organized so easy to find all the featured sites. Glass factory tour very interesting, in Czech and in English. Glass museum beautiful items. Nice restaurant to sit back and enjoy your meal.
Bartley Casteel — Google review
Worth to visit to experience the living glassworks, followed by locally brewed, very solid beer and tasty classic local food to accompany it. I need to come back for the beer baths some day, the last time unfortunately we had no time for it!
Dejris Osterski — Google review
Cool place. Definitely to visit and eat in the restaurant here. It's possible to eat and drink on the balcony inside the active, still working glass factory!
Vojaganto — Google review
Very tasty craftsman's beer especially light to drink Hutne 8 and tasty Frantisek 12. Same place there's possible to check an exhibition of local glass manufacturing. Recommend to visit this kind place.
Paweł Grzywacz — Google review
The food of the restaurant was great and the beer also, but the tour was not really that great because the lady that gave us the tour only spoke Czech and German. I’m sure some tour guides do speak English but it’s a guessing game so be prepared for the worst.
Joko — Google review
Average Czech traditional food with fresh beer
Yury Pratasenia — Google review
Unless you are a hardcore glass blowing fan like me - there is no need to pay 200 Kc for the tour of the factory. Just come after 15-30, get a seat on the balcony to watch the glass blowers work.
The brewery serves outstanding beer, but the service seems overloaded and thus does not really care.
Also, that was the worst česnečka I ever had.

Czocha Castle is a 13th-century castle that has been transformed into a dramatic hotel, offering classic rooms and free breakfast. With over 125 rooms, the castle hosts numerous events and provides a rustic yet charming ambiance. The friendly staff and on-site market add to the overall atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a tasty restaurant, cafe, and even sample honey mead. The castle's beautiful location offers great views and a medieval vibe inside.
Outstanding medival castle. Great interior and view and nice sightseeing. There is a hotel in castle so you can have a rest before your next trip. It's said on the web site that there are night tours but haven't found the date when it is.

Absolutely in love with this place! It’s way out of the busy city life. If you are a person that loves to explore nature and the woods, walking through hidden path, then this is definitely the place for you! I walked with my dog for hours exploring so many little paths in the woods near the river and we weren’t even closed to seeing everything! Highly recommend

This castle is a larpers paradise! With over 125 rooms, I imagine they host a lot of events. We loved the compound and loved that you could stay the night at the castle. It’s a little rustic but that’s part of the charm that make this authentic and interesting. The overall ambiance was fantastic. Everyone was helpful and friendly, and there was a market on site as well that added to the ambiance. There is a tasty restaurant and a cafe on site. We were introduced to the honey mead, which was quite nice. Also the castle beer is a must try - very smooth with hints of citrus. Wish I had brought some home with me.

Very cool medieval castle being used as a hotel. If you want a cool experience without the pampering, this place is for you. Great views and medieval vibe.

Very big. Has lots of stuff to wiew. But it is far awh from town or the main roads. If you don't mind driving through small narrow roads, then I guess it is fine.
Breakfast was standard polish one.

Very interesting tour of the inside and photogenic place 😍 Interesting that it had multiple purposes during world war two and that the rooms can actually be used as guest rooms. A bit of a pity that it's not in great shape but it's still awesome!
Pedro Heitor — Google review
We’ve gone to this castle twice and couldn’t get in. First time the castle was occupied by Harry Potter’s fan and nobody was allowed to get inside. The second time we came here with a small dog and exactly these days dogs were not allowed to get here. Staff was really furious and aggressive too.
Popkorninog — Google review
Czocha is a lovely castle situated in a beautiful location, I've visited it twice and although I've not been inside, even spending time outside the castle is great.
Recently we attended a 'Medieval Food Festival' which was awesome, sampled lots of Polish food from across the ages (prepare fresh of course though 😄) and it was an awesome day out. Highly recommend If they organize this again.
Matthew Jones — Google review
A wonderful setting surrounding a brilliant castle.
Scenic views that were amazing with the snow that we had.
The only issue is that if you are staying on the 4th floor, make sure you are fit as its not easy getting up there and back down with heavy or bulky luggage
Richard Rayment — Google review
Fantastic place. A good day if you are in the vicinity. They serve okay food and have really nice rooms. The castle is well kept and renovated. It's a treat to see all the rooms and if you're lucky you can see some of the secret passages behind the secret Doors 😯 and if you have enough money you can rent the whole castle, which is very cool 😯
Klaus-yngve Pedersen — Google review
Great castle. But there is a big "but". Only guided tours allowed and you see not that much of the famous castle. The tour is very long (over 1h) for what you see, not available in English. First room - 15min talk. The tour guide closes with advertising restaurant and whatnot. I don't pay for advertising. Given we drove 1h to get there I find it was not worth it.
Aija Kalnaja — Google review
We’ve visited the place 5 years ago and it was amazing. Came back last week and realized that the place is falling apart. The service is great, the restaurant food is delicious, but the place itself needs urgent maintenance.
Linas Adamonis — Google review
Great and impressive castle with lots of history behind its walls. The local guide was super knowledgeable and eager to share her passion and excitement about this place.
I highly recommend the restaurant as well, the food was just exquisite!
Paulina Farkas - Krakowiak — Google review
If you are not a polish speaker, just forget about visiting the castle. Only guided tours are possible, and you will be "welcomed" by a very unpleasant man that will make you clearly understand that only polish is spoken there.
A lesson on how not to attract tourists from abroad.
Jean-Philippe Thery — Google review
A fascinating place to take a tour. The hard working tour guide really goes into detail about the history and the building. She should be kept as was great learning through her guidance. Did not stay at the hotel, so no comment.
raj badhan — Google review
As a hotel it should disappear as *** hotel - it’s just not what people are expecting when they’re here. Quality and cleanliness don’t exist.
In regards to castle as a museum - it has stopped in time 30 years ago. Staff is unfriendly and rude, besides instead of doing job which were paid for - they preferred discussing political choices. It’s disgusting and disappointing to have staff trying to control or convince people who came to visit a castle to specific political orientation.
Sorry it’s a red flag.
Kamil NOWAK — Google review
This is an awesome castle, great views and everything! I really like the medieval vibe that this castle gives when you're inside it. I really recommend visiting this place, it has epic views, no trash, many things to look at and beautiful cobblestone buildings surrounding the castle! At the time i am writing this, the roof in front of the river is currently under construction.

One of the most interesting castles I’ve been so far. It’s so beautiful, exteriors and interiors, there were some secret doors I found when I was there🤪🤪🤪Spent the night in the castle felt exciting yet scary at the same time when you went for the night tour visit with awesome way of storytelling from the staff. The atmosphere was indescribable, you can see it for yourselves, I highly recommend the night tour guide for this castle and you can thank me later 😉 but one thing I would change is that there’s English version of the story so it would be even more fascinating for me 🥰🥰🥰

(I refer to sightseeing, not to hotel).
Very good condition of the castle, moderate pricing, tour guides definitely know their job
Wojciech Fluder — Google review
Just sightseeing, not staying overnight. So much history and still to be discovered, must-see if a mystery fan. Discoveries happening as we speak. Worth to visit again after a while. It is a beautiful place and definitely worth visiting however, not equipped to handle so many tourists (toilets).
Relaxed accommodations in a restored hotel with a low-key restaurant, a spa & a rustic tavern.
The little imperfections that the other reviewers write of only add to the character of the place. Staying there was an experience we will never forget. The restaurant, bizarrely only has 3.5 stars rating, whereas for is it was the best and cheapest meal we've had while hiking the cesky raj, served by the most friendliest servers we've encountered.

Only visited the ground, but was shocked you had to pay to look around. Went into the tower, which contained little to no information. Didn't stop to eat as the reviews are generally poor.

We booked 3 nights at the hotel in August 2023. We booked a room with a view but got a free upgrade for the bridal suite, without even asking for it! Obviously, this was a happy surprise. The castle itself is beautiful and the views from both the room and the courtyard, were stunning. Our room was decorated with furniture that fits the castle's historical entourage, which made it extra special! The area around the castle is perfect for hiking and any sorts of outdoor activities. The restaurant is of decent quality, although we also found some good restaurants in the town nearby. We did notice some cobwebs and dust in different corners and corridors, but weren't bothered by it. If anything, it added to the feeling of living in a romantic, centuries old castle.
Maaike van der Linde-Haisma — Google review
Very lovely views, close to hikes.
Although we reserved 2 adults 1 teen the room was not big, not sure what happened. But staff was very accommodated. I hope it doesn't get overrun from tourists like in Prague. I like to see the locals and the originality of the place.

A beautifully situated castle with an integrated hotel. Unfortunately, however, it can only be recommended to a limited extent. "Wellness" & **** stars are listed somewhere, but I wonder how this is to be understood. Absolutely friendly staff, no question. However, this does not console over the fact that, for example, broken lamps were hanging from the ceiling in our room, there were no blackout curtains at all (although explicitly listed on the homepage) and the "wellness" theme was certainly not related to the atmosphere at breakfast. The fact that the door to the buffet is closed in the middle of breakfast time or, even better, that the caretaker ?? is drilling and screwing skirting boards on the floor between the tables occupied by guests with a cordless drill, has nothing to do with "wellness" and "holiday" in my opinion. It's a pity, because the building itself and the staff would be able to guarantee a dream holiday here.
Jan Jarnicki — Google review
Excellent experience at this beautiful, well-located hotel. Booked an economy room and received an upgraded room with a complementary bottle of wine. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Lunch and dinner were very good and the breakfast buffet was exceptional -- the best we saw after a couple weeks of travel through the Czech Republic.

This was THE BEST EXPERIENCE!
By chance we hiked past the castle, which is a hotel and went in to ask if they had a room available. YES, and at a very affordable price. The room was beautiful with an amazing view. The restaurant is very good, although it could do with some more options for vegetarians. The staff is exceptionally friendly and even those who struggle with English try their best to make your experience memorable.
I felt like a princess!

Updated review:
Another wonderful magical stay! Coming back 5 years after we had our wedding here and with our son, I was worried it would not live up to my memories, but it exceeded them! The whole surrounding area is seriously enchanting with extraordinary nature walks, easy and unbelievably beautiful. The views cannot be matched, and the spa balcony is unreal! The staff of the hotel went above and beyond even with our more unusual requests. They upgraded us to the wedding suite which made our entire stay and allowed us to relive our best memories. The food is super tasty, the rooms and hotel are a little outdated, but have such magical character that it can totally be overlooked (especially for such a decent price).
Still a hidden gem with mostly Czech tourists so feels super authentic
As a modern princess with a romantic adventurous character, but without a princess's budget, I will say this is the ideal place and we will definitely be coming back as soon as possible.
Wonderful castle in gorgeous surroundings. Our wedding there was perfect! For the ceremony, meals, party and as a hotel. All our guests loved it and the staff went out of their way for us... Despite the rain and some logistical difficulties it was absolutely magical!

The Czech Museum of Silver is a fascinating place that explores the history and mining of Kutna Hora. Visitors can learn about how silver was discovered in this town, and explore exhibits on local mining history.
I took the underground mine guided tour. The tour was conducted in English and despite the guides apologies about her English, I understood her just fine. The guide went in to a lot of detail about the history of mining in Kutna Hora, the equipment used and the lives of the miners.
Then followed a tour down into what used to be one of the actual silver mines of Kutna Hora, back in it's heydays of mining. The safety precautions requires that we all wore hardhats with a light attached, plus overalls to protect our clothes. Personally I had a lot of fun going into the mines. The guide stops at points of interest and seeing the condition under which miners worked was very enlightening. At one point in the tour, everyone switched off their lights. In the pitch black, it made me really appreciate my office based jobs.
A really enjoyable tour.

This tour has great potential. As an English speaker on the Czech language tour (found that part out once it started) I was handed reading material while the tour guide discussed everything else. This was fine above ground but was frustrating in the tight spaces in the tunnels hunching down to wait for others to listen to a description I had already read. The extra charges are a bit much too-you definitely want the jacket but they are not cleaned between users as the fee suggests, I didn’t pay extra to take pictures.
Ammozon Grace — Google review
We came from Prague but there is not much to see in the museum. For the "exhibit", I would give one star but since the museum had description materials in English and French (with grammatical mistakes), I am awarding two stars. All in all, it is not worth of making the trip.

Their hours change every month apparently. The staff were so rude about it too. I was so upset and they were just like “yah it’s on our site too bad”. Well their sites layout is also very confusing and counter-intuitive. Glad to see I didn’t miss much I guess from the other reviews. But what a waste of 4 hours on a train

I had an exceptional experience at the silver mine with the underground mine tour. The guides were truly remarkable and their knowledge about the mine was awe-inspiring. One guide, Renata, went above and beyond by taking my English-speaking boyfriend aside for a private lecture in English, ensuring he didn't miss out on any fascinating details. The attention to detail and personalized service made us feel valued and special. The entire tour was well-organized, informative, and engaging. From start to finish, everything was great, and we left with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the silver mining industry. Highly recommended!

200K for a 90 minute medieval silver mine tour in English. A little rushed at times and not always easy to hear but nevertheless recommended for something very different. Tunell was narrow and low for about 20m otherwise easy enough - unless you are oversized or very tall then forget it - people do get stuck the guide advised. You wear helmet and it is necessary as you will bump your head. Also wear sensible footwear as it is wet down there. Maximum depth was 35m.

This was totally awesome I did the mine tour and the museum, the mine is very interesting but not the place for claustrophobics, obese people(too small inside) or people w heart problems. Really nice tour guides, one of my most interesting experiences in czechia.

Amazing experience, with a kind and knowledgeable guide. When I arrived at the museum, the final tour of the day (in Czech, and I only speak English) had already begun 15 minutes earlier. Rather than turn me away, a guide at the office personally guided me through the mine in English, following behind the Czech group. She was incredibly knowledgeable and provided interesting facts about the mines and it's workers through the years. The tunnels stretch on for untold miles, honeycombing the earth. This is truly an experience to remember.

St Barbara's Cathedral, located in the Sedlec district of Kutna Hora, is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture. The cathedral is adorned with spiky spires, flying buttresses, and frescoes that add to its grandeur. It was constructed in 1388 and boasts five naves but was not completed until the early twentieth century due to construction delays caused by the declining productivity of the town's silver mines.
I love visiting churches when there are no priests and no preaching etc. This one is amazing!! Especially on a sunny afternoon ♡ From my whole trip to Kutna Hora, this was the highlight.

The grounds are nice to walk around or sit and have lunch.

Magnificent.
Feel so ancient yet strong holiness around.
It is amusing that the history of this great cathedral was from the working class, not the royal family! In this case was the mining worker in Kutná Hora centuries ago.
The interior was well kept with some fault to show how ancient it was.
It will be cheaper if you buy the ticket in a bundle with the Sedlec cathedral+kotsnice.

So much wealth and power was centered in Czechia for centuries. The silver mines provided the kings of centuries past vast resources and the money and effort devoted to their religion is amazing. The cathedral rivals all major cathedrals in the world for scale, beauty, and wealth.

Such a beautiful cathedral in Kutna Hora. We really enjoyed our visit. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance of the cathedral. We visited on a weekend and it was not that crowded at all.

You can take a train from Prague to Kutna Hora to visit St Barbara. An impressive church with equally interesting or intriguing public sculptures in the grounds around the church. Worth visiting, if you have the time.

A beautiful cathedral with so much history. A must see when visiting Czech Republic. I visited as part of a tour and during the winter so there was no wait to get a ticket or enter the cathedral.

Totally breath taking outside and inside, this amazing cathedral worth it every minute you spend in there. Sister of Cathedral of Prague, perfect conserved with one of the beautiful vitralius i ever seen and impressive orga, i dont have words enough to describe how beautiful it is. You cand rich this site walking along a wonderful terrase merged by monumental statues, part of the Jesuit College. So if you want to take a trip outside the Prague, you shound not miss this place for sure.

This church is magnificent. It’s enormous and the craftsmanship is outstanding. Glad we added this to our destination on our last day in Prague. We joined a tour group but you can reach this by public transportation.
14th-century fortress with tours of armory & torture chamber, plus a medieval-style restaurant.
There are wonderful trails surrounding the castle that offer great opportunities for exploring and photos. The castle offers tours, performances and displays on medieval times. There is a gift shop and restaurant on site so you can shop or eat while you wait for a tour or after you complete your tour. Parking is available for a small fee just below the castle.

Amazing place absolutely worth going. Lot of small pubs with crisp fresh beer.

Great display of medieval swordsmanship and horse riding. The show was great for children and funny for those who understand Czech. Castle tour was interesting - there's an extra description available in English.
Brian Webber — Google review
Parking was difficult and the police were giving tickets if you park along the road. The fortress was beautiful but you could only visit with a tour ranging 40 min to 110 minutes. Sadly all the coming tours were in Czech language. So all we could do was walk around it.
Anna Berger — Google review
It's a really nice castle. Unfortunately, all tours were in Czechish, but there was good written material in English following the tour. The only way to see the inside of the castle is to take a tour.
It was interesting to get the Swedish involvement in the thirty-year war described from the other side.
The castle restaurant was rustic but the food was really good.

The best preserved gothic castles in the area. I highly recommend visiting! Our tour guide was amazing and answered any questions we had.

Very scenic and popular castle in the heart of Czech Paradise.
If you drive in earlier in the morning, you can face issues with securing a parking spot nearby. There's also an alternative (safer) option to leave the car on some free spot few kms down the forest hiking trail and take an easy walk to the castle.
I arrived just before the tours started and there was a surprising amount of people already waiting to enter (> 100). Because the castle's name is "Kost", which can be translated as a "bone", the castle very dog-friendly.
There is also a restaurant, several Czech fast food kiosks and an outside grill specialties venue in the back, but I found the servings small and quite overpriced. They also draft a locally brewed beer.
Nice place to visit for an hour or two if you happen to be around. However, I wouldn't come here from a far away.

Went with friends and family from the USA. For some it was their first experience with a real castle. Loved it! To listen to 40 year old "boys" talking excitedly about which weapons they would prefer during the times of castles was priceless.

Fantastic castle, well preserved, with good exhibits. Suitable for anyone to visit. A little restaurant is on site, and there are a few tours available, highly informative. Highly recommended, about 1 hour drive away from Prague.

Just a few kilometres outside of Prague. Is very nice castle. The entrance is cheap (90 Kč and the tour guide is really interesting) . If you prefer only realx, Don't miss the incredible menu with super grill

Beautiful and well preserved castle. Very friendly service with multiple language variants so there's no worry that somebody wouldn't understand. Nice view from the castle especially on "Plakankovo udoli,,. There's good amount of tours, one is special - tour with princess which I think would be good with kids. Me with my family really enjoyed it.
No need to book anything to visit the bar at the brewery. You can try all their lovely beer there. They also sell some good quality merchandise. And ofc they sell a lot of beers you can take with you. Oh and don't forget to try the Böckelbart schnapps!

Ještěd is a high peak located near Liberec, housing a restaurant, hotel and television tower. The architecture of the building is extraordinary and highly recommended for enthusiasts. Visitors can access the peak by road or cable car to witness the tremendous view it offers. It was built in 1973, preserving its timeless beauty till date. In winter, it provides an awesome experience that is worth the trip every time.
Place worth visiting. There is possible to drive by car to the top of the mountain, but I don’t recommend using high cars. On the end there is a tunnel with max high 3.2 or 3.1 meter as I remember.

Nice walk up the mountain with good weather. We parked a bit up the mountain as the cable car was out of function and we didn't want to do the full hike. Still a nice half our trail up, with pretty views.
Jested is nice to see at the top and get a snack or drink.
Depending on the weather I would do this again.

Amazing trip, mountain surround by beautiful nature, way to the top leads you thru hiking route in forest. On the top place has restaurant, hotel as well as small snack bar outside. From the top you have 360 degree view. Recommend that place as weekend trip and for people who like hiking. 30 min away by car is already Polish boarder.

Tremendous view. Spaceship has landed. Already in 1973! Time stood still here. A must for fans of extraordinary architecture. The rooms are great, but do yourself a favor and take a big one. It’s worth it. I love that place.

Ještěd is the highest mountain peak of the Ještěd–Kozákov Ridge near Liberec. I highly recommend this place in the winter, it’s really awesome :) One of the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen.

The hotel is a great piece of architecture, you can tell it was built in the 70s. The atmosphere is right there and I enjoyed every second of it. But Ješted isn’t only the hotel, it’s a great view spot. You can easily see the whole city. The panorama is just gorgous no matter where you stand. And the line ride is quite fun! Remember if you have an Euro-Nysa ticket you can get a discounted ticket for the line ride :)

The staff for the first few days were absolutely amazing. The children's room had a few hazards, which inevitably led to a girl splitting her head open on a table that didn't have the plastic covering on a metal end, some tables had the plastic while others didn't. The toy box had nails sticking out. When the girl split her head, they removed the hazards upon my wife's request. I was in the room playing with the kids when this happened.
The staff, who hadn't been there yet this week, were unprofessional. Saying things like "if you have a personal problem you should go home" or "If they would've watched their kids this wouldn't have happened"
A simple apology would've sufficed, but they tried to save face instead. They have since decided to close the children's area instead of making it safer.
Before this with the staff previously, it was the best hotel service I'd experienced. The cleaning ladies, the kitchen ladies and people at the front were absolute angels to my children, prior to this. It seems to me it was upper management who were the rude ones.
Regardless, due to regulations in Czech Republic, anything labeled as a children's area should be free of hazards and should be frequently inspected by staff.
I had planned to come back next year and rent out a better room, but unless there is some type of apology, I will not be returning. This would've been a five start review before this experience. I hope they find some way to rectify this experience, I'd love to give them the opportunity to apologize and compensate for their rudeness. If they do act professional, I definately would change my review. As of now, I won't be returning annually as I had planned.

Excellent guided tour. I think I have never been on any better. And I've been on so many before:) Also nice park with attractions for kids and grownups too. Unfortunately I don't have for some reason not enough good photos. I was most likely preoccupied with other things than taking shots.

It was such a great experience. We took "Christmas tree tour". It was entertaining, knowledgeable, great decorations in the rooms, the tour guide was to the point. Only one thing I would change is the number of guest in one tour, I would make a smaller group. The manor house is beautiful plus it has huge park with attractions for kids and adults. We will definitely come back.

Great place to visit , though a bit expensive in season. The multiple labyrinths located around the château gardens keep kids occupied for a few hours. The inside of the château is also very nice and the Vtipna kase Cafe is cozy and has great food. In the winter, though, some of the labyrinths are not accessible.

Beautiful chateau with a nice view and the best park full of labyrinths and mazes! They have funny program for kids during summer and at some special occasions during the whole year. There is also a chilling zone with 'fatboys' in the shade in front of the chateau.

Really Really terrible experience at the castle for our wedding!
We planned our wedding and could have had it literally anywhere in the world but because my wife is Czech we decided to have it Prague and I thought it would be fitting to have it in a castle because she is my princess.
Let me say this was not the cheapest option as there were a number of other lower and similar priced castles but we chose this one because of its allure and majestic photographic potential.
We had an amazing wedding planner who assisted us in every way possible that was within her means but here is where it all went wrong and become a nightmare instead of the best day of our lives:
- Sound is very very important! probably as important as the venue and photographs. They completely failed in this department! at our service they provided sound in our wedding package but it was one little speaker, manned buy an old guy in the corner. Not any person in the crowd could hear the music that my wife obsessed about for hours and hours. When she walked down the isle nobody hear the song that was supposed to make me cry and thats so sad. Nobody could here the service or anything for that matter until we said I do TERRIBLE!
- The DJ provided to us cancelled he's services a week before our wedding because he didn't have our music playlists even though we came prepared with our playlists as he didn't understand the songs. He was kind enough to allow us to use he's sound system for a cheaper rate and one of my friends did the DJ duties. The DJ insisted on strobe lights and a disco ball inside the venue that almost entirely ruined all our party photos. We didn't know where the hell to disconnect the lights and didn't want to be liable for any damages so we left it on!
- The translator provided to us cancelled last minute for whatever reason and they provided a replacement that could barely understand English herself... Nothing against her but she should never have been put in this position!!
- Caterer is where it really got messy! We were forced to use 1 of 2 caters that the castle wants to use otherwise we would need to pay an extra 50 000 czk to use our own catering company. This guy is the single reason why i am writing this review in the first place! We came for tasting twice told him what exactly what quality of products we wanted and he gave us exactly the opposite. We wanted a snack table with canapés, nice cheeses, prosciutto, meat cuts and a leg of pork, jams, fresh fruits and amazing breads! We imagined a beautifully decorated table with the best of what he could provide but he gave us the worst possible cheese, no prosciutto, underwhelming fruits and 3 big jams with zero decoration... it looked like something in hospital.
- We also ordered the full food package and again were disappointed. The soup was absolutely disgusting! its a Czech tradition for the newly weds to feed each other soup on the wedding day but dam that was the worst I've ever tasted in Czech Republic. We had a fish starter that when we tasted it before was palatable but on the wedding day was terrible. We ordered the duck main and this was the highlight of our day as it actually tasted amazing and exactly as we wanted but it was all ruined by the cake. The cake was some cheap cream cake exactly want we didn't order to taste :( this almost brought my wife to tears and got me soooooo angry on our very special day!
- We Also ordered a the unlimited drinking/alcohol package and chose the Italian wines and unfortunately they provided cheap Hungarian wines.
One thing is clear... its a profitable business where service doesn't really matter. Loucen needs to understand that it takes more than just having a beautiful castle with great facilities to be a wedding venue!! We can never get that special wedding moment back and when it mattered most they dropped the ball and made us look really bad.
My only advice to the castle is your only as good as your service providers!!

Great place for families with children, they will enjoy themselves a lot. Many people today, cause it is czech national holiday. Restaurant is not so good, not so many choices and prices are little bit higher, but in limits :-)..
Small, rustic 15th-century castle on a freestanding rock, with panoramic views from a lookout tower.
Cool place but closed during the winter season from November to April/May. Free parking 👍🏻👍🏻

Magic place:) Thats a real castle on and in the rock! We have visited that place on Oct 2022 so Autumn sights even increased the impression. The cost od the ticket for 2 adult and 1 dog i 220 CZK, and i think that is a good price, especially that you received a paper guide in your language for free!!

Very charming🤩
The parking lot is big enough and they charge 50 CZK/2h.
It’s right underneath the castle so there is no hiking. Along the Parking lot are little Workshops with souveniers🅿️
The castle has multiple levels (in- and outside) and it’s well secured.🏰
While we were there, there was some sort of fencing/acting show-the kids loved it😍
The whole castle is well maintained and we were nicely surprised (compared to Bezděz)
We’ll definatelly visit again👌✅

Very interesting place and Castel build around 1818
Fully renovated medieval sandstone castle in a forest, with tours of the palace, tower & ramparts.
Cosy place with guided tours. Caste is from 14th century however almost completely rebuild in the beginning of 20th century by new owners. Today castle is private owned by Spacek's family which had rebuild it.

I won’t say that it was super interesting, but in general it will do. There was a tour of the main chambers, and then you could climb the main tower. The view from there is amazing.

Parking is 100 Kc. Walk up a steep set of stairs, and there is the castle. Can partially walk around it, but full access to tower and building is 120 Kc. Open every day, despite what Google says.

Breathtaking castle and views! Absolutely loved my visit, and would highly recommend it. Nice staff, and a cute little gift shop.
However... it's quite an uphill hike to get here, and is full of many steep staircases, and so you should be in ok shape with ok mobility if you want to come here.

Although the castle itself is a gem, we were a little bit disappointed. The guy who guided us in the castle building was so bored and absolutely not client oriented. Nevertheless, we loved the place.

Very nice castle which is in good condition. You can pay 100 czech koruna fee for the tour. They don't do it in English but they have printed text you can read about the castle. You can climb up on the top of the tower, it is a gorgeous view around the forest.
They have birds like ravens and falcons which you can take pictures with.

Kokořín Castle is located in the middle of a nature reserve on a steep rocky outcrop above the Kokořín Valley, north of the village of the same name, only 40 km from Prague. Built in the first half of the 14th century (first recorded mention dates from 1320) and heavily damaged during the Hussite Wars, the Austrian Emperor Ferdinand included this desolate medieval residence in “the cursed castles”, which were forbidden to be repaired after the Thirty Years War.
The castle became a refuge for marauding knights who threatened the wider surroundings, but later served as inspiration for many 19th writers and painters.
When it was purchased at the end of the 19th century by Václav Špaček, an aristocrat from Starburg, it had already been only a deserted ruin for a long time. He reconstructed the castle very expensively under the supervision of leading historians of the time (A. Sedláček, Z. Winter and Č. Zíbrt). The reconstruction lasted between 1911 and 1918 and then opened it to the public.
After 1950, based on the agrarian reform laws, the castle was nationalized by the communist government.
Kokořín Castle has been a designated national cultural landmark since 2001. As late as in 2006, the castle was restituted to the hands of the Špaček family heirs.
Housed in a landscape full of forgotten villages, small lakes, and sandstone, you’re in for a lovely surprise at the place.

Had an amazing time in Prague and decided to explore some places outside of the city. Was lucky to have family that knew where to go and wasn’t disappointed.
Entry was cheap and parking next to nothing.
The walk from the car park was long and up a steep road and up a ton of stairs but worth it in the end.
The castle itself isn’t huge but the view from the top was lovely. Lots of walks and beautiful countryside and lakes in the surrounding area.
If you’re there it’s worth a visit.
