Highline179 is an exhilarating pedestrian suspension bridge that spans 406 meters over a river gorge, connecting the castle ruins of Ehrenberg with Fort Claudia in Reutte. Adjacent to the Burg, this thrilling bridge offers visitors the sensation of floating as they walk across its narrow and open construction. The bridge stands at a height of 114 meters above the ground and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Beautiful views and fascinating castle fortress ruins. Also handy to a wonderful restaurant!
The bridge bounced a bit but very secure and doesn't swing uncontrollably. Beautiful views of the ruins from this vantage point. Looking forward to visiting again. About an hour drive from Innsbruck. You could spend a few hours or whole day exploring this historic site.
Kevin W — Google review
The bridge has Beautiful view of Alps. The bridge is hanging and it’s a thrilling experience!
If you are planning to go by public transport, avoid public holidays because the bus / train have less frequency and you may not get a proper connection. Getting a taxi is also tough if you need more than one taxi.
On other days, it’s pretty easy to reach and the route is very scenic.
Rasika Vartak — Google review
Do not miss this spot! This was my 3rd time here because the view is incredible. It's easy to spend a few hours here between the ruins and bridge. If you're afraid of heights, i at least recommend seeing the Ehrenburg ruins at the minimum. It's spectacular to see with the view over Reutte.
Alex Kovac — Google review
Summary: beautiful views, very wobbly, thrilling, worth the price.
Details:
🅿️ A very large parking area with enough space for hundreds of cars, it gets quite busy though so you may not be able to park close to the entrance.
🎟️ You buy tickets inside the tourist area, and the workers speak great English! Tickets are ~€15 for access to the lift up, the bridge and the first castle ruins. Great price for all that’s included.
🚾 toilets are located next to the lift that takes you up, and they cost €1 to use. They’re spacious and well kept though.
🛗 the lift up is robust and feels very sturdy with excellent views on the ascent. There are hand rails to hold onto for stability.
🏰 the ruins are up very steep hills and are not accessible to those with mobility issues, but they are great to walk around. Interesting boards in English describe their history.
🌁 the bridge itself was an awesome experience. You can see through the bottom the whole way, and if you go on a windy day as I did, it really does wobble a lot. The views are immense but my partner was very scared with his fear of heights. You exit the same way, so you have to walk over it twice!
Lauren Austin — Google review
It’s a bit of adrenaline full place, depends if you like high view, literally from the sky to the bottom. Place is really nice and ticket are not too expensive. I would even recommend to walk to the bridge - it’s is around 15-20 mins and possible even for kids. Otherwise you can take lift. Parking is big enough, if it’s not high season it should be enough place for all. Like it!
Ales Kus — Google review
This is a great tourist attraction for a half day's outing. Beware though as it's not for the faint hearted or people afraid of heights.
We took the kids (6 and 4), who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
For those who don't want to walk for 20-30minbup a steep hill to get to the access point of the bridge there is an elevator, which makes it good for all ages and sizes. If you want to look at the castle on top of the hill you will need some stamina.
Price wise it's rather expensive for a family outing (hence only 4 stars), but worth it, especially when the wind makes the bridge wobble ;-)
For the kids there's a playground and for sustenance there is a restaurant by the parking lot underneath the bridge.
REL SA — Google review
What an amazing experience. You could easily spend there all day exploring the castle, bridge and surrounding area. So much to do and see!
Micha? Niezgoda — Google review
A must go if in the area. You can look down through the bottom. Breath taking and Quite thrilling.
Since it is hanging it moves a bit when you walk. Wide enough to walk on both directtions.
If you are scared of heights this is not an activitie for you.
Toilets and refreshments all the way up. Spectacular view at the castle if you cross the bridge. So happy we stopped even though we were just passing through 😊
Myanne Luxn — Google review
Must visit, well worth the detour!
Pro tip: car parking is €5 for a day, not license plate specific. So once you are about to leave, help someone out who’s heading to the parking meter and give them your parking ticket.
There’s enough to do here to spend hours, we only walked up to the bridge (15 min zigzagging up) and enjoyed the amazing views on top of the bridge. All very safe for younger kids.
But next to that, there’s a picturesque castle, a small kids playground and instead of walking up you can use a fancy funicular.
Marcel van Poeijer — Google review
Awesome. Scary, but absolutely awesome.
I'd recommend being here early if you want to avoid the crowd.
You can walk up in fifteen minutes and buy a ticket either near the buildings below or on top, next to the bridge entry.
Parking is 5 Euro and the bridge entry (for the whole day) is 8 Euro (September 2023).
Dennis S — Google review
The bridge is relatively stable and after 100 meter of excitement the remaining of the walk is with no fear.
The walk on the trail to the bridge is about 25-30 minutes. You can take the non- occupied cable car for additional 9 EUR beside the admittance fee to the bridge of 10 EUR.
The view from the bridge and from the ancient castle near the bridge is great
Eytan Shiran — Google review
Highline 179 is thrilling if you aren't a heights person. If you like heights, no problem. If you don't like heights go on a day that is not windy. If the bridge starts shaking, it's a bit scary. Great views though once you're up there. It's not so bad if you don't look directly down. Look out instead.
Adrianna Tondi — Google review
Absolutely beautiful view from the suspension bridge!! We purchased tickets to the top (it was rainy and windy & we didn’t have time to hike). You can hike to the top to see the castle, but you need tickets to walk across the suspension bridge.
You can buy tickets at the store or you can purchase from the machines by the entrance to the bridge.
Be sure to wear grippy shoes as the hike up has a lot of loose gravel and you will slide.
Tela Royston — Google review
Fantastic place! Advice: if you arrive after 18:00, the elevator does not work. You can climb up by walk, and the bridge is available to visit, however, tickets at the highline entrance can only be payed by cash. You have to go back to the elevator stops (top or bottom), then you can buy tickets by card.
L?szl? Balaton — Google review
Wow what a bridge! You must visit if you are in the area. Not best for those who don't like heights. It's 406m long 114m height and it wobbles a bit, but is perfectly safe. Apparently its good for 1000 people's weight, however it's limited to 500! A train will take you to the top of you don't want to walk. It's €15 for the bridge and train, Ehrenburg castle and Fort Claudia.

It was great to visit here. It's taller than I imagined, swaying, and scary. But once I crossed over, I got used to going back. I used the elevator to avoid walking up the bridge. An outdoor combination ticket of €15 allows you to use the elevator and the bridge.
caution! There is no toilet upstairs.
There is a vending machine across the bridge.
You can see a very beautiful scenery when you cross the bridge, so please do your best.
Many people crossed the bridge and returned at about 30%. The dog was trembling as he walked. Wheelchair friendly!
Children run across. Children are amused and shake the bridge. It's horrible.
I was worried when the bottom plate would come off. But maybe the bottom plate won't come off.

Great spot, definitely recommend a visit.
With a car.
Do not recommend catching a bus there.
We had to walk 45 minutes to the nearest bus stop to get back to Reutte.
Still worth it though.

What a thing!
For someone with a acute fear of heights it's the last place you want to go. It's terrifying!
But, with the help of my wife, I pinned my eyes to the top of the trees and held on to the handrails. I made it.
So, yes, it is possible, for anyone.
Go there. You won't be disappointed.
Chris Lawrence — Google review
We really enjoyed our trip to Ruette and our walk across this fabulous foot bridge. The views of the mountains, the castle, and valley are breathtaking. It also makes visiting the Claudia castle much easier.
Debbie Hodge — Google review
The cable car to the top was offline the day we went so we had to walk up the trail. A fairly steep walk, but vermuch worth it. The suspension bridge felt very safe and it was a thrill to go across. The views are spectacular. We also toured the old castle and forts. And took the 2nd cable car (working) to the top. Beautiful experience.
S M — Google review
Definitely not for people who are scared of heights! But if your a thrill seekers this should be up your ally. Great opportunity for photos . Bridge is very shaky but definitely an endorphin high once you reach the other side making the way back no so bad 😅

Wonderful place for a short hiking. We hiked here from the hospital parking lot in the other side. Took the gear lift to the top of a ruin. It was foggy and rainy but was fun. Highline hanging bridge costs 10 EUR for round trip. The gear lift is 8 EUR for up and down which is fairly cheap.
Austin Han — Google review
This was an incredible experience!! The views are spectacular, and it was a nice, enjoyable, short, but a little steep hike up the mountain. You may want to check on that if you go if you are not into that. The elevator was not running.
Cameron Rich — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful! Parking is an open parking lot and you can pay with your card there. It's only €5/ day! You can decide to use the lift to go up or you can hike both to Fort Claudia or the other castle. The view is spectacular and we had a wonderful time exploring!

Highline179 is an architectural wonder in Reutte, Austria, offering an unforgettable experience. Spanning 406 meters, it stands as one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges globally, connecting Ehrenberg Castle Ruins to Fort Claudia, suspended at 114 meters above the ground.
Walking this bridge promises an adrenaline rush and unparalleled panoramic views of mountains, valleys, and the charming town of Reutte. However, it's important to note that strollers or prams aren't permitted for safety reasons.
This attraction is open 365 days a year, from 8 AM to 10 PM. Conveniently, there's ample parking available at the base. You have the option to hike up or purchase tickets from Ehrenberg Liner. One downside is that only cash payments are accepted, so be prepared.
Highline179 seamlessly combines adventure and stunning vistas but remember, plan ahead if you're bringing young children and ensure you have cash on hand for ticket purchases.

Medieval castles lovers, this is the place for you.
Want to experience heights on a suspended bridge, the longest one they say, this is the place for you. And the views are typical for Austria, just stunning.
There are 3 castles here that are rich with local history, the bridge connects 2 of them.
Lots of interesting explanations as you go.
There is a coffee shop down at the info and tickets center to refresh.
Toilets are located near the coffee shop and also up near the gates of the oldest castle.
There is a playground in a medieval style for children, near the old castle, so they can wait there with an adult while the other is climbing the ruins.
We spent here 2.5 lovely hours and loved every minute here.
Slava Mironov — Google review
It is a great location, but it is not for those with height problems. The view from there is special. The ticket to go up with the funicular is more expensive than the entrance to the bridge, but you can also go up walking (about 45-50 minutes)
Coman Victor — Google review
This bridge is incredible. A little scary at first but once you get going, it is great . You cannot beat the views. I took the gondola up for the quickest route since I was limited on time. Total cost with the gondola and bridge access was 19 Euro. Do not miss this!!

It was a lovely day out. Great view of the mountains and the castle. Highly recommend to visit 👍
Füssen Altstadt is a charming and fairly small pedestrian center with quaint shops, cafes, and picturesque squares. The old Apotheke building on the main street and the fountain at the far end are notable attractions. This traditional southern town offers delightful restaurants, cafes, and dessert shops. Visitors can explore historic sites like Hohes Schloss and the Benedictine Monastery of St. Mang while enjoying a music parade in the afternoon.
Old part of cities never disappoints you. Instead, they welcome you in their comfort and cosy world.

Cute old town right underneath a castle and right by a scenic river. Worth checking out for a few hours before heading to Neuschwanstein Castle. The buildings are very cute and have that Bavarian charm to them.
Irwin Mier — Google review
Beautiful old town with well-preserved historical buildings, including the pompous former St. Mang's Abbey and the so-called "Höhes Schloss", and a captivating natural landscape along the Lech River.
Natacha — Google review
The old town is incredible and very rich in atmosphere - it feels like going back in time. A small recommendation - if you go there, go when the weather is a bit worse. I went when it was raining a bit and the streets were empty - that's the best way to experience it in my opinion.

The center of the roads In the shopping area of Fussen there are beautiful buildings and shops. It's also a great photography check point and dinning.
Ben Panuts — Google review
Füssen Altstadt keeps the traditional southern vibes. It is the main place of the town and it has nice restaurants, cafes, and dessert shops all around. The music parade at the afternoon was also great. There are other things to see, such as Hohes Schloss. Definitely must-visit place of the town.
Junhyun Kim — Google review
Very recreational town with the beautiful castles and lake. In town lots of great restaurants.
Fussen is the recommended place to come for sure!! You can't miss this Bavarian town.
The Museum of the Bavarian Kings is a must-visit for those interested in the history of the German kings, particularly King Maximilian II and King Ludwig II. Situated in Schwangau, it offers a comprehensive exhibition on the royal Wittelsbach family and their reign. The museum is conveniently located near the famous Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, making it an ideal addition to a visit to these landmarks.
We basically stumbled into this place after exploring the area and I'm glad we did. Before the trip we studied up on Bavarian history so this was a nice treat. This is a great museum if you're a history person, or just want to kill some time before or after your tours. There's plenty of artifacts and information about Bavarian kings. Definitely recommend!
Adam Greenlee — Google review
Fascinating museum about the Wittelsback family! Nicely set up and lots to see. Would recommend if you're visiting the castles to come here, it adds some depth to understanding of their construction and the background behind them. It is in a very peaceful location by the lake, the area in front is a good meeting place and the start to walks around the short. The shop was also very nice and well stocked for gifts and books.
VA DJ — Google review
I don’t think be guiding castle worth €21 ticket. I think owner know that, so they strictly not allow we picture inside. True is : if u saw what they have . U really not pay for visit . Out side castle was stunning view. Worth billions . Ludwig II know how to build amazing castle. His parents didn’t have good deco taste.
vivian Liu — Google review
Nice, really big museum with everything translated in English and even an audio guide in English as well. We couldn't look at everything as it would have taken way too long, but it was nice. If you plan on reading everything, plan for more than one day there.
Laurie Laberge — Google review
I have not been in the museum. But the lady in the ticket office (4 min away from the museum) was really rough then I just gave up to buy tickets. I asked her a couple of questions she answered "you do not inform yourself good, ha?" Then she puffed then I escaped. It is not nice to encounter this type of people the time we want to enjoy from our holidays...
Gulvin Canan — Google review
Fun and incredibly interesting tour through the history of the governance of Bavaria and the Bavarian Royals themselves. Particularly focused on Maximilian I, Ludwig II, and Luitpold von Bayern.
Timothy Saunders — Google review
An interesting.place. After visiting both the nearby castles, it provided a good respite from the crowds which flock to the site. Word of advice. Prebook your tickets to avoid the long queues to see the castles. I booked in advance and had my ticket within 10mins of arrival, which saved me heaps of time from just having to stand there and wait to be served.
Paul Willard — Google review
A very detailed history of the Wittelsbach family, from medieval times to the present. Worth going to, especially if you have time to kill before your Neuschwanstein or Hohenschwangau tour. The artifacts are somewhat limited, since most of the good stuff is in the Munich Residenz. There is a nice display of table centerpieces from the 19th century Wittelsbach weddings.
Brian Planchard — Google review
Great and comfortable place to learn the history of the royal families of Bavaria! Close to the lake, the building and the location are gorgeous! Inside mainly paintings, pictures and explanation, some royal family’s items too. The visit is more cultural than visual! It’s usually included and worth if you pay for both castles. Don’t miss it!
Marcelo Ferreto Bispo — Google review
Very cool museum! We didn't go to the castles themselves, so it was very nice getting to learn about the castles and about the history of everything in the area. We got the audio tour clickers which were easy to use and very informative.
Daniel Klinger — Google review
Very nice. Only 11 Euro per person which is ok considering the area. High tourist area is what I mean. Also there is an elevator for those who can't climb stairs. Very informative and a great amount to see and learn from. I would visit again.
Nuna Yobusiness — Google review
I've visited more than 40 countries and I can say with certainty, this is the worst museum I've been to. Not worth your time
Artur A. Silveira — Google review
Small museum but with a lot of great information, recommended that you use the book they have at the entrance so you can get more insights on the exposition, definitely worth the trip and time spent reading the articles.
Heidi Decker — Google review
It's centrally located, clean, and friendly. It's expensive and has a lot of security (no photos) for what amounts to a lot of reproductions, some media, and only a few interesting artefacts. I recommend going to the cafe by the lake next door after your visit.
Hohenschwangau Castle, a neo-Gothic summer residence of King Ludwig II, was built by his father atop 12th-century ruins left by Schwangau knights. It has a distinctly lived-in feel with ornately furnished state rooms, where every piece of furniture is an original. The palace is far less showy than Neuschwanstein and features stars painted on the ceiling of Ludwig's bedroom.
Wow! Worth a visit for everyone. Again, you can't take any pics inside but plenty of photo ops outside of the castle and the surrounding scenery. My advice is get there as early as possible, past 10am it gets ridiculously busy. Tickets are timed so it's all very orderly. You can walk up to the castle, but I'd suggest taking the bus from the car park, you can then walk off to the right and go on the bridge, it's then a 5 min walk up to the castle. There's a shop, loos and lockers for bags. There are also loos once you're into the main courtyard. As of Aug '22 you need to wear a mask inside, but they do sell them at the info desk for €2 each. After you can walk down the hill or take a horse drawn cart (€4ea) but it takes the same amount of time. Plenty of options for eating and drinking around the car park. If you walk along the road past the car park, with it on your right, you'll be treated to an amazing blue lake nestled amongst mountains. Stunning.

Beautiful castle walls and towers. There is a rich story (thanks to the amazing castle guide) on how King Ludwig designed and innovated the castle with electricity and even a lift ! Will consider this castle visit more of to accomplish a checklist if you are staying in Munich and not really a wow-must-visit attraction.
Fernando Sarael — Google review
The tour was fascinating and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and sweet. It was an "audio-tour" so we were given a history of the castle and the family in English, but our tour guide was fluent in English and German. She added so many other neat tidbits and facts to really personalize the tour.
NOTE: It is limited to the queen's chambers and ladies' rooms/the king's chambers and the knights' rooms, so much of the castle is not included in the tour. The kitchen is located in the back of the gift shop and is a neat sight as well.
We booked our tickets online. If you do the same (and I suggest you do as it often sells out!) make sure you give yourself ample time to find parking and walk up to the castle. We got there 20 minutes early and were cutting it close.
The lady at the entrance to the tour was not very nice at all. She was the one negative to the whole experience.
NOTE: LOTS OF WALKING - wear your good shoes.

Great castle to visit. We had a nice guided visit with an audio guide in English and a guide to answer questions. It was interesting and didn't take too long. Our group was only composed of 4 people, us included, so it was really nice. Great view from the castle too and a quick bus ride from and to Füssen. Be sure to check the return bus schedule as they are not really frequent.

Great tour and wonderful visit. We thoroughly enjoyed both the inside space and outside. Well maintained and ran like clockwork. I would advise anyone to buy their tickets online ahead of time - we purchased our tickets weeks in advance.

This year my husband and I decided to do castle tours in Germany. Yesterday we visited Hohenschwangau, (our 3rd castle visited in 2 days). I love the vibrant color of the exterior. It has a beautiful courtyard with a pretty fountain and landscape. Too bad it was raining which prevented us from taking some amazing photos of the castle and spending more time in the courtyard. This castle along with many others does not allow photography during the tour. King Maximilian II commissioned the construction of this castle. It has 50 rooms, rooms are small and have less decor than some of the other castles around. Overall it is a beautiful castle, overlooking the town below, and the mountains. I advised repurchasing the tour tickets ahead of time, less hassle. Guided tour comes in multiple languages. Our tour guide spoke English well.
P Hok — Google review
Amazing castle - more finished inside than Neuschwanstein. You can freely walk around, up to the castle and around the courtyard however you'll need tickets to go inside with a tour. Worth the visit here if you're in Fussen.
Mat Bienczyk — Google review
The summer residence of the kings, the interior of the castle has been perfectly maintained since they ruled here. Each room has fantastic murals depicting fairy tale legends still original to when they were painted and not showing any aging. To get inside you need a ticket for the 30minute guided tour.
Andrew — Google review
Bring a swimsuit 👙🩲 to swim in the lake after the tour! An impressive castle on the inside, and a nice exterior view especially from the lake. The forced guided tour only shows you a fraction of the castle 🏰 but it's enough to get a sense of how the knights and royalty lived here.
Alan Czajkowski — Google review
If you want to visit inside, booking in advance is a must. The tour inside is about 35 to 40 minutes, about 17 people per group. You can't take photos or anything, and you couldn't even spend enough time to appreciate the art and paintings due to they're kind of pushing to finish the tour.
The price of the ticket is rather expensive for what you will get.
For someone who doesn't have much interest in history or low budget. I would recommend Just go to look around outside the castle instead, it's very beautiful views and free.

Such an idyllic setting, it is a must see when undertaking the Romantic Drive in Bavaria, Germany. Visited in early May 23 and found it to be a fantastic attraction.
The day we got to visit was a little drizzly but it set the scene for a rather romantic time to do the tour through the castle. Our tour guide was a fun guy and added to the tour. Entry is by way of booked tickets and the whole process of visiting the castle is done quite precisely. You won't be disappointed.

Stunning, inside and out, with beautiful architecture and a rather interesting history. The grounds and castle are well maintained. Museum tour system was the most organized I’ve ever seen.
Sarah Hartman — Google review
Interesting castle to visit, the architecture of the castle is kind of stunning even though it is not as picturesque as its neighbour Neuschwanstein from the outside.
The tour of the interior of the castle is 30-40 minutes long and you will be able to see 8 rooms of the castle. It isn't the best castle tour, but it's kind of expected since this is a 200 years old castle with not much history.

Great place to visit for a day trip to Southern Germany.
This castle was built in the 1800s by King Maximillian II. His son Ludwig lived there as a child and built the more photogenic castle across the valley when he was older.
This particular castle is very well preserved. All of the furniture is still inside. It’s almost as if the residence simply went away for the weekend and let you come in to take a look at it!
It is still privately owned, thus they do not allow any photographs to be taken inside. My wife and I found it interesting that the queen and king each had their own separate floor of the castle, however there is a secret staircase that connects their bedrooms for conjugal visits!
The Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century hilltop fortress constructed for King Ludwig II. The castle, which resembles Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, was created to recreate the world of Germanic mythology inspired by Richard Wagner's operatic works. The Sängersaal or Minstrels Hall is the most stunning room in the castle, with frescoes depicting scenes from Tannhäuser opera.
From the car park to reach the castle you can walk or take a ride with the bus or carriage. The tickets to get inside the castle are at the base, where the transportation is. Unfortunately I couldn't visit it inside as I didn't had enough time to wait one hour and a half for the next group tour. But next time I'll be more prepared for this. Even so seeing the castle surroundings was a very nice experience. You have plenty of nice views and lots of nice spots to take beautiful pictures.

Absolutely amazing location! This castle is just like from the fairytale! Take Romantic route when going there- you will enjoy beautiful countryside views and a lot of cows on the road! Castle itself located on the hill and reaching it by foot will take some 20-30 minutes. But you can take bus or horse ride there also! Tickets to enter the castle should be booked in advance- otherwise you will enjoy only from the outside, as we did!

It was a beautiful place but lots of hiking and it's difficult to find the spot where you can take an instagram worthy photo of the castle and even if you do, you will have to wait in line for 40 minutes to get there. It's so crowded in August that instead of enjoying the place, you will get a headache. But minus the crowd, it's a wonderful place!

Beautiful place!! I went near the end of November and it was snowy. Not all restaurants were open but there were enough to get a bit to eat. Easy walk around the area; both castles and the lake. Two viewpoints were blocked off because of the snow which was disappointing but understandable. The snow made it magical but if you want to see all sides of the castle go in warmer weather. It is about a 25 minute tour of the castle and you cannot take pictures or video inside. I used the GetYourGuide app to book a full day tour from Munich and it was a comfortable easy way to go! It is about a 30-40 minute walk up a paved path to the Castle so wear comfortable shoes. You have to sign up for a tour time so as to not overcrowd the castle. Lockers are accessible near the entrance of the castle and plenty of gift shops. Check this one off the bucket list!

I love coming back to this castle. It has something magical about it. I’ve seen it in all four seasons and each season has its own beauty. However the negative side of going there in winter is that the bridge where you could take good pictures of the castle could be closed due to weather conditions.
From the parking lot to the foot of the entrance, you can take a horse drawn carriage which cost at present eight euros per person for each direction. However, you can also walk it, which takes a good 20 minutes. From there it’s another 10 to 15 minute walk to the actual entrance of the castle.
I find the tour to be a bit short. I took a tour a few years ago where it was longer, but I suppose they no longer offer that. I do enjoy having a cup of coffee and cake inside a castle, though after the tour.

The castle is beautiful! Too bad that on the inside you can’t take pictures.
On the outside you’re one step from the alps, trees and 2 beautiful lakes that make the place look like taken out of a book.
The walls, ceiling, and ornaments are wonderful, of course like every castle is full of amazing stuff

What can anyone say about the world famous fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. It is stunning and surreal in person. The tour is well worth but make sure to book in advance. Getting to it is a challenge but no matter the method it is inexpensive. Even the horse drawn carriages was 7 euros a person. Many still walked, even in the rain.
The story around the castle is fascinating and sad. It was far from done when King Ludwig was killed. Only can imagine what it would be if he could have finished it.
Stayed in the nearby town of Fussen. Such a lovely place. Would not stay near the Castles as there is not much to do.

I had been wanting to visit for many years since my first visit to Bavaria. I'm glad I did as it is, obviously, a very impressive and beautiful building set in fantastic scenery.
No pictures are permitted to be taken while on the tour itself. Obviously some people still try, but thankfully the staff are quick to stop them.
Tours are run on a timed entry system and conducted with audio guides. Surgical masks are required. Homemade/cloth masks are not permitted. If you try to enter without a mask, or with a cloth mask, you will be made to pay €4 for an accepted one.
Buy your tickets ahead of time. A limited number of day tickets are available at the tourist centre in Schwangau (no tickets are available for purchase at the castle itself) but they go very quickly.
Don't miss the view from Marienbrucke before going into the castle itself.
Small cafe on site after the tour. Not bad, not great.
Gift shop has usual kind of trinkets and is pricey.

We purchased our tickets in advance and printed them at home. They are timed and you can only enter the inside of the castle 10 minutes before the "tour" starts. I recommend getting the first tour of the day because the parking lots fill up and it gets hot in the summer.
We caught a bus from parking lot #4 up to the top of the hill. You pay on the bus - cash only - a few euros per person. From there we walked to a bridge with an excellent view of the castle and took some photos. We then walked to the castle and waited for our tour to start. We had an audio guided tour which was very informative. This castle is stunning, beautifully preserved and cared for. It's definitely a bucket list place to visit. After our tour we walked back downhill to our car. Highly recommend visiting this castle.

This castle is amazing , the views are spectacular the inside is just beautiful you have to see it to understand . You cannot take pictures inside the castle We took a horse drawn carriage up to the castle for about 8 euros and 4 euros down trust me either take the carriage or bus the walk is all up hill and about 30 minutes . There is plenty of parking and restaurants and cafes to eat and get drinks from there are also souvenir shops inside the castle . And the place is very crowded so if you can get there early . You cannot bring any bags inside and also no cameras . But do not miss being inside the mad kings castle .

Amazing palace in an amazing location between plains, lakes and high mountains. It looks medieval but is modern. Worth any voyage to come experience it and its surroundings.
Not that easy to get to but the climb/walk only adds to the luster of your visit. Reservations run out weeks in advance in summer so plan your visit well.
The bridge is best but not for the faint-hearted. I only go up a bit to take the amazing pictures of the castle, mountains, plain and lake.
We did not enjoy coming with a disabled person. We booked for a disabled person and an accompanying adult but:
1. You can't get to the front gate without climbing
2. You can't use the elevators in the castle unless you have a separate ticket for it, which I was not told about
3. The horse carriage stops running at 6pm even though we were told it would run until after our tour finished, so my mother had to hitch a ride back in an employee's car. If none had been available, she would have had to spend the night on the mountain somehow.

A very beautiful castle! The old markings and objects within the halls and rooms are outstandingly stunning. This castle tells its story very well and the tourer guides explain every detail down to a fine art, giving a clear picture of who owned the castle and how it functioned. The view is so striking and the area around is a very nice and cute town, reflecting the castles beauty from above and below. Would recommend a visit!

Visiting the castle must be planned in advance by purchasing tickets on the website. The experience is unique. If the weather is good (no rain or fog) you will get wonderful photographs of the view of the Castle, the lake and the city itself, which is very charming. On the way to the Castle and minutes before the center you can find good restaurants. I recommend the tour!

Gorgeous. Magnificent. Outstanding. Breathtaking. Impressive.🤩
There could be other dozens of way to describe this gem, easily.
The best sights are gotten from the Marienbrucke.
From the inside it was never finished so there are two storeys empty and the visit is somehow rather short accordingly.

Beautifully crafted structure. A masterpiece on its own. You can book tickets online. You can park the vehicle and then take a bus or the horse carriage to reach the Castle. 10 mins walk from the Bus stop. Please take return ticket of the bus at the time of taking the trip to the castle saves some money.
Ambarish P — Google review
The scenery around it is absolutely stunning. Weather is just perfect on December, around 10 degree C and not too mild. Entrance fee may not justify the price as it is only a 5 min tour esp for someone had seen next level wall painting like in Vatican.

A must see! Love Germany, so pretty, stunning views. Please note that it is a long very steep walk from the parking area. There are horse carriages you can take up, unsure the cost.

Beautiful. The scenery is amazing. Take the bus to the castle and look out but walk back. Make sure to swim in the lake located between the 2 castles, it makes for a great way to finish a warm day walking between the castles.

It's a beautiful place, but everything is made in order for you to pay a bit more.
Also, I highly recommend going early in the morning. We came the first time in the afternoon, and there were literally a hundred or more persons waiting for the bus to take you up to the castle.
Siwang Daopian — Google review
Give yourself plenty of time for photos and taking in the breathtaking views. September was a stunning time to visit. The castle is beautiful but the views from the castle are even more spectacular. There were flowers everywhere, the meadows were lush green and lakes dotted with sailboats. We saw a dozen hangliders floating through the sky, what an incredible view that must have been.

Incredible Castle (inside and outside) is a must if you are in Bavaria. The only negative point would be that there is not much time to appreciate in the castle tour.
Couldn't find online tickets but risk it in going and was able to get the ticket (€ 15 per person)
Also, recommend to go to the bridge (20min walk from castle) perfect castle view and the wait is not that long just really crowded.

Absolutely beautiful castle & grounds. We took the horse & carriage up for 8 euro per person and then walked back down. We had a gorgeous day to be there. I'd highly recommend getting there early if you pre purchased your audio tour so you have plenty of time to get to the check in. ❤️

First time visiting real castle. So good! Definitely worth visiting if you are in Munich. We went for a day tour, very very informative so you can understand the history! Tons of excitement and good architectural. Castle was built by limestone. I visited on the winter time.
Heard that when it’s summer, more sunlight, it makes the castle shines due to the limestones structure.

The castle is beautiful, although the place is very tourist-like. Can't enter the castle gates without a ticket and it's a specific time you may enter with your ticket. They will recommend a bus, and then a 15 minute walk from the bus stop. But you can walk up from the start of the bus to the castle in 20-25 minutes.

Absolutely magnificent castle! The art and architecture is incredible. The history is beautiful. I loved all the colors inside and all the different rooms. The outside view is absolutely chanting. Definitely worth the trip to check it out. My favorite were the murals which were inspirations for many stories that I am familiar with!

Absolutely a rip-off, don’t take the €20 tour of the castle, you are climbing almost 200 stairs during the tour and it’s not worth it. The castle’s gift shops rips you off as well, the place mats were €7 in the first gift shop, then it was down to €5 in the second one on the way to exit. The view is nice, breathtaking but that’s just it. A very touristic place. Not worth it. Instead you can enjoy the view and have lunch in the restaurants maybe…just an idea…

By tickets in advance or else there's the risk of not being able to enter the castle. Also I highly recommend going on that little hike after crossing the bridge. You will find a nice photo spot with very few people.
Victor Burcovschi — Google review
Worth a tour of the interior to see the artistry and hear about its inception. The tour wasn’t long and was a large group, leaving slower wanderers or those with more questions a bit rushed. But worth it! If uncertain of the signs for where to start your hike, you can follow the road that the carriages take. Also hiking to the view from the bridge is a must!

This place is a great location, you have free parking and can walk around the castle at night and early morning before anyone’s around.
However it’s really more of a hostel, we had to share a bathroom and toilet and there was no kettle and a very basic bed, all okay for an overnight but nothing special
Breakfast was very nice and staff team lovely.

Eibsee is a beautiful mountain lake located at the foot of Zugspitze Mountain in Bavaria, Germany. The clear waters are inviting and perfect for swimming in the summer months. In addition to its beauty, Eibsee is also a popular hiking destination with a popular loop that includes a lake side restaurant.
Beautiful place with stunning views. You can comfortably hike around the lake in a couple of hours! We went in winter when most of the lake was frozen but was still a sight to behold!

It is located at the foot of the Zugspitze. This lake's water is clear, emerald-green.
We were amazed to see the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
We enjoyed our lunch on the bank of this beautiful river.
You can swim here but the water is too cold.
You can rent boats and paddle boats on Eibsee. This is a great way to explore the lake and see the surrounding mountains.

A beautiful lake one hour from Munich, with spectacular views, took us 3 hours to go around the lake, benches are available to sit and enjoy the view or have a little bite to eat. The track was not hard with a few uphills but the rest was pretty flat. I truly recommend it.

The most beautiful lake I have ever seen in mountains. I can compare its turquisecolour of waters to Plitvice Lakes. The walk around the lake took over 3 hours for our group 4 to 47 years old people but the omly reason "why so long" is we had to stop every few meters to make a picture or check the sound of bouncing pebble by dropping it to frozen lake. We had big fun admiring the views and brathing clean air a specially it was easy to walk there - almost all the time flat terrain. Even people with baby carts were faster than us ;)

Stunning lake in Bavaria 😍 Absolutely gorgeous views and easy hike path. Parking is very expensive if you are going to stay a short time (8€ no matter how many hours), but if you are going to spend the whole day is not a big deal.

Beautiful is an understatement. It’s mesmerizing from top of Zugspitze and equally gorgeous when you walk down to lake. Calm, clean and picturesque. There is a lot you can do near around like hiking, walking and sitting back and relaxation. On busy days parking can be a challenge as it’s overcrowded being next to Zugspitze. All in all a must visit place.

This is a few hours away from Munich. It is recommended to leave early for this place because the roads get pretty congested. The place is famous for its glass-like lake and the hiking trail that goes alongside. There is also a cable car that closes registrations at 12 PM. Make it to this cable car as it takes you to the highest point in Germany. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance if possible.

-I really recommend you come here from early morning, you would want to spend your day there.
-its a 1hour 30 min drive from munich city center
-or you can take the train which takes around 2 -3hours
-You must pass by if you’re visiting Munich
You can walk around the lake for around 2 hours if want to go for a semi hike .
You can sit in the restaurant and enjoy a good meal if you just wanted to enjoy the nature.
You can take the cable car 🚠 or the train 🚂 to go to the Zugspitze.
There are options of all day ticket for around 60 euros where you can go up and back military times.
If you want to go skiing they have shops where you can rent the equipment just before you reach the cable car station.

The Partnach Gorge in Garmisch is a popular hiking destination with beautiful waterfalls and a walkway. It's named for the gushing waters of the Partnach mountain stream, which have carved out the gorge over time. The gorge is significant geological because it was nearly 240 million years ago during the Triassic period that the Alpine muschelkalk layers settled on what was once a shallow sea.
What a fantastic place! The views we saw on the walk were just stunning! Even in winter, this place was worth visiting. Apart from the gorge, there are a lot of tourist routes through the forest. Depending on physical training, you can choose the best appropriate one. I also advise you to take a raincoat if the weather is cold as there are a couple of waterfalls.

Really special and wonderful place to enjoy a day. We hike passed the gorge and up a pub the long way (2 hours walk up and down). Reasonable fitness needed. The pub is closed every Thursday. When we go there, the pub is closed. The tables can be used and you can buy beer from a machine. The gorge itself is nice but the hike up the long way is nice walk too. We saw salamanders and woodpeckers and different birds, farm animals sheep and a friendly cat too. The way down quick is by the side of the pub (30 minutes). Bring a raincoat and wear hiking shoes.

It was a wintry cold day and we braved the outdoors. It was a nice memory, although hard with jet lag. Got some good shots.
Because some of the hiking paths were icy, we had to walk on the main road which of course took away from the charming allure. So beware in bad conditions.

The gorge was breathtaking and well worth the 6 euro. When we visited in August, half of the gorge was shut down and there was two-way traffic. This led to a lot of congestion and was very stressful with a toddler. We were not aware of how tight some of the tunnels were, so we brought a child backpack carrier which we did not use because our son would hit his head on the ceiling. We saw several families with small children in the same boat as us. If we could have done the whole trail and not have to double back, we would have enjoyed the experience a lot more. I understand these were unique times, it just wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been. It was still very pretty and I wouldn't mind coming back when our kids are a little older. For those who are new to the area, you can park in the Olympic parking lot for 2.5 Euro and it is a short walk to the trail head from there.

It's an impressive experience.
The path to the entrance is very wide and easy to walk on. In the gorge, however, it is narrow to the rocks, partly through the tunnels. It's also good to have a flashlight, because it's really dark in some parts of the tunnel. A jacket with a hood is also useful, as the water drips heavily from above in some places.
We were there on a public holiday with nice weather around noon. That was probably a mistake as it was very crowded. In narrower places you sometimes had to wait until "oncoming traffic" had passed... I also thought it was stupid that you were allowed to go there with the dogs. I don't think it's a nice experience for the dogs: loud, cramped and lots of strange legs that you have to avoid. Next time I'll go there earlier as it's probably a lot quieter.

Unbelievable place... It is definitely a must visit place and its worth every penny. You won't regret going here.
Just make sure you exit from the same gate you came from if you don't have time or don't want to walk. Cuz if you exit from the other end, you'll have to hike all the way around the gorge.
But if you can I would definitely recommend you to take that route, it is BEAUTIFUL

One of nature's wonders. Awesome place to visit. Regimens getting there early as parking is atrocious. Make sure you have balance and are a little fit. The walk is long and can get strenuous at times. However, the views are spectacular.

Let me just say be prepared for the hike OUT. The hike in and through was amazing. The walk out was the hardest part, and while it isn't difficult, it isn't a short hike. The gorge itself was great and beautiful. Go early and beat the rush, which is what we did, and even then, we had people who wanted to rush through and push you through it. Later, the number of people showing up to enter was crazy and i couldn't imagine trying to even take pictures. We enjoyed the early quiet and lack of people and were able to enjoy a leisurely walk, just letting the fast folks pass us. Take a rain coat, water and snack and you'll have an amazing time.

The place is very attractive. After visiting the cave, you can continue your hike to the forest and return to the starting point. Alternatively, you can return to the cave. If you choose to hike through the forest, make sure to bring some water as it is a steep path. Overall, it was a really enjoyable hike.

Formed by the Partnach River, the gorge features striking rock formations and picturesque waterfalls. The maintained trails and informational signs ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors of all levels of expertise. We went on a hot weekday and it was rather busy, with lots of fellow tourists. The walk up from the parking at the Ski Jump centre took about 20 minutes, but was easy. We booked our tickets in advance, but you could buy them there. There are some places to get some food and drink at the start of the gorge walk, we had some lovely chips and a beer! The walk itself is exciting, but as it was busy there was a lot of stop-and-start waiting for people to pass (the raised pathway cut in to the cliff is narrow) but the views and atmosphere made up for it. Stout shoes and a slight head for heights is recommended, but we saw folks of all ages and abilities managing just fine.

Very interesting place. But risk to go given the wet floor and its proximity to the water falls.
Not good for claustrophobics since you will be in dark and short tunnels.
Dogs are welcome but there is a 2 euros fee.

we didn't need raincoats or lanterns, the tunnels were lit and at 20° quite dry, two or three drops on the jacket is no problem. It's so beautiful that you don't care if you get wet. The circular route is not easy at all, the climbing is big and quite steep, don't eat your sandwiches before it like we did😆. Otherwise, the view from the top is worth the effort, but some level of fitness is definitely required.

Beautiful place. Might be slippery in the rainy season. At least keep 2 hours for the trip. You are allowed to go to the end and have to come back the same route (can no longer exit from the other end). I saw some people taking their pets. Partnachklamm, nestled in the heart of the Bavarian Alps, is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates with its awe-inspiring beauty. The narrow gorge, carved by the Partnach River, offers a mesmerizing journey through towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. The well-maintained pathways and sturdy bridges provide a thrilling adventure for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
Visitors should be prepared for a sensory delight, with the sound of rushing water echoing off the rocky walls and the cool mist in the air creating a refreshing experience. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the dramatic scenery, especially during different times of the day.
While the trail can be challenging in parts, the reward of reaching the end and taking in the panoramic views is well worth the effort. Partnachklamm is a testament to the raw power of nature, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a memorable and immersive outdoor experience in the Bavarian Alps.

Awesome place. The cave gives you a thrilled feeling. After you exit it, there are two options: First option is to take the cave back. Next option is a bit tricky and I felt that the directions were not much clear. In this option you have to hike the mountain and then descend. The trail to go up is not well maintained and at some places it was very slippery. On top there is one small restaurant. Going down is via a well built road, but it is very steep. We could not control our legs at some descends and had to run :)

Such a beautiful place to visit... If this is on your list and you have the time you must absolutely do it. There is a 30 minute walk from the parking lot to the entrance of the gorge. However we had rented e bikes and were able to take them all the way to the entrance and there is a bike lock rack Right next to where we purchase tickets. For 7.50 euros this was an unbelievable walk Just so breathtakingly beautiful. I love the sound of the water I love seeing the sky through the crack. After we got to the end there was different trails to take but we didn't know how to read the trail map in German so we just turned around and went back the way we came to the main entrance to our bikes. I would have loved to have done other walks up and over the gorge as well if there was a proper map provided or signs. Also a bit confusing have to you purchase tickets you have to scan the barcode to go through a gate So hold on to them, Because if you go through the gate at the end and decide to turn around you will need to reschend the tickets to get back in the pathway to the main entrance.
St. Peter und Paul, also known as the Oberammergau Parish church, is a stunning example of southern German Baroque architecture. Built between 1735 and 1749 by Joseph Schmuzer, it features intricate rococo design and was adorned with sculptures by Franz Xaver Schmadl and frescoes by Mattha Gunther. The church boasts a main altar along with four side altars, elaborate stucco work, and impressive ceiling and wall frescoes.
Beautiful hidden gem in Obermergau! Loved the architecture of this catholic parish church! It was built between 1735–1749 according to the plans by Joseph Schmuzer. It has a main and four side altars, rich stucco work, large-scale ceiling and wall frescoes, a pulpit and an organ. Loved the art on the altar and the graveyard!

It is the Catholic parish church of Oberammergau in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen District (Bavaria), is an important example of the southern German Baroque. It was built from 1735 to 1749. The sculptures were created by Franz Xaver Schmädl, the pictures and frescoes by Matthäus Günther.
A pre-Romanesque predecessor church was probably built as early as the ninth century, possibly replacing an even older wooden church. At this time, the Welfe Ethiko withdrew here with twelve companions to a life in a monastic community. In 1167, the Kempten monastery was given twelve courtyards with the right to present themselves through the church. In 1295 and 1362 they became the property of the Augustinian monastery in Rottenbuch. All pastors of Oberammergau can be completely documented from 1432 to the secularization of the monastery in 1802; they all were Augustinian Canons.
The Oberammergau parish was founded in the 12th century by the Rottenbuch canon monastery, with which it remained pastorally connected until secularization. The first church was replaced by a Gothic building in the High Middle Ages. This had become so dilapidated at the beginning of the 18th century that the new baroque building was tackled.
The middle picture of the high altar shows the Mother of God as the heavenly helper of those who ask for intercession and contribute gifts. It is replaced by a figure of the risen Christ during Easter and the Passion Play. The statues of the apostles Peter and Paul as well as the outside of St. Joseph and Joachim with their attributes are remarkable. The Lamb of God is enthroned on the book with seven seals above the tabernacle .
The two side altars on the choir arch are dedicated to the theme of redemption through Christ's sacrifice on the cross. The left altar shows in a rare representation God's decision to salvation as an "inner conversation" of the Trinity. The saints Martin and Gregory the miracle worker appear at the side. The right altar shows Christ on the cross -- this cross is considered to be the one in front of which the Oberammergau residents took their vows of the Passion Play in the year of the plague in 1633 -- with Mary and John and, on the outside, the "good thief" Dismas and Mary Magdalene .
The altars in the side extensions are dedicated to the holy clan (left; altarpiece by Günther) and Saint Anthony of Padua (right; picture by Johann Jakob Zeiller ).
It's a very gorgeous sanctuary to say the least (photos).

Ettal Abbey is a magnificent complex situated in the Alps, established in 1330 by Ludwig the Bavarian for a group of knights and Benedictine community. The monastery comprises a baroque church with breathtaking frescoes and sculptures, along with a liqueur distillery, gift shop and bookstore. Visitors are captivated by the stunning dome inside the church that highlights its beauty. Additionally, there is a renowned brewery on-site which adds to its charm.
This place was very cool. it was established in 1330. they brew beer, Schnapps and make their own cheese. And there is a very good Italian Restaurant right across the street. Reasonable prices and serves the Abby's beer.

The Benediktinerabtei Ettal was really a sight to behold, and very majestic. Dominating the sleepy little town of Ettal. Be sure to head into the Basilica and stay awhile!

Beautiful monastery, with a selection of biers and liqueurs available for purchase (they've been making them locally for centuries). When visiting bear in mind that this operates like a normal church so choose your hours in a way to not disturb the people praying there.

This was a bit of a disappointment during my
recent visit. The grounds and monestary are nice but after a few minutes I was wondering what I was going to do next. The Cafe and Brewery were closed even though Google said both were open.

Wow! Just wow! The whole complex is amazing! Set nestled in the Alps, you can see why the founders felt they would be close to God here. There is a nice little gift shop, a regionally famous brewery, and a church with exquisite frescoes and sculptures. The Dome inside the church alone, is worth the drive. If you go here, see if you can spot the unicorn :-) I highly recommend it!

The abbey is breathtaking and pulled emotions out of me that I’ve never felt inside any other church. It’s free to go inside the abbey and the gift shop has many beautiful items. If you’re in the area, this is well worth a stop.

Beautiful monastery in the Bavarian mountains. Great for a one day hiking trip. You can take a longer round trip between Ettal and Oberammergau and enjoy the beautiful views of the monastery from the forest on your way back. On your way back stop and take a break at the Kloster restaurant. Very tasty food with good service and beautiful design.

Ettal Abbey is surrounded by beautiful mountains and waterfalls! We enjoyed walking around the compound and just enjoying the fresh air. There is a shop within the compound that has beer that is brewed there and outside of the compound there is a cheese shop. We spent around an hour there and the stop was well worth it.

The Ettal Abbey is a great stop. Very picturesque views of the Abbey can be had from a couple small hotels (best from Blaue Gams) on the western side. Blaue Gams is a fantastic hotel and restaurant too. Had a very memorable stay here (views, tranquility, and a classic Bavarian experience). Well worth a side trip from Neuschwanstein or Oberammergau.

Located very close to the Garmisch region of Bavaria this place is an Architectural masterpiece. It is said that the foundation originally consisted of a Benedictine double monastery – a community for men and another for women – and also a house of the Teutonic Knights.
The original Gothic abbey church, built between 1330 and 1370, was a modest structure in comparison to the great churches of medieval Bavaria. The inside of this church is majestic in every way and has a beautiful acoustic sound effect. The monastery runs a brewery, a distillery, a bookstore, an art publishing house, a hotel, a cheese factory joint venture, and several smaller companies. The distillery produces Ettaler Kloster Liqueur. Please note ttr Café inside the Ettal is now closed till Easter. Huge parking area around and also places to eat.

Mittenwald, a charming town nestled in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, is famous for its vibrant painted houses and rich history of violin-making, showcased at the Geigenbaumuseum. The 18th-century St. Peter and St. Paul Church features stunning frescoes. Surrounding the town are scenic paths leading to Lautersee Lake and the Laintal waterfall to the west, while Hoher Kranzberg offers trails and viewpoints to the northwest.
The Bergisel Ski Jump is a popular ski jumping venue in Innsbrucks Old Town that features a modern design by architect Zaha Hadid. With a viewing platform and cafe, it's an ideal place to soak up the panoramic views of the city.
Beautiful view of Innsbruck and the surrounding area, amazing experience. There is a restaurant with a view on the Mountains , Innsbruck...At the entrance to the sports area there is a multimedia room where you can watch the stories of ski jumping - amazing. The "barrier-free" area can also be visited by a wheelchair user. With little luck, you can witness the training of jumpers!

Really, really cool. I’m not really a follower of winter sports but this place is worth a trip up to. There was a tour group there that got to go on the ski jump itself when someone was jumping down it. Pretty cool experience. Unsure how much a tour costs but it seemed worthwhile.
There is a cafe/restaurant at the top of the Zaha Hadid designed tower that is pretty cool, I don’t know expensive it was though.

Worth a visit to get a glimpse of what skijumping is probably about. The sheer heights are though still unfathomable, and everything's a little bit steeper than on TV. Splendid views all around over the city. Parking a few minutes away with a walk through a park with museums and monuments.

The Bergisel Ski Jump is an incredible feat of engineering and a true masterpiece of modern architecture. Located in the heart of Innsbruck, Austria, this iconic landmark is not just a ski jump, but also a tourist attraction that offers a unique and unforgettable experience.
From the moment you arrive at the Bergisel Ski Jump, you'll be struck by the stunning design and breathtaking views. The structure itself is a work of art, with its sleek lines and towering height. The panoramic views from the top are simply breathtaking, and you'll get a bird's eye view of Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains.
But the real thrill comes when you take the elevator to the top and step out onto the platform. As you look down, your heart will race as you take in the steep slope and the dizzying drop below. You'll feel the rush of adrenaline as you imagine what it must be like to launch off the jump and soar through the air.
A very nice and friendly ski jumper let us took a picture with the kids. His jumps were so smooth and elegant.
Even if you're not a skier or snowboarder, the Bergisel Ski Jump is still well worth a visit. There's a restaurant and observation deck at the top, where you can relax with a drink or a meal and enjoy the stunning views. And for those who are more adventurous, there's even a bobsled track nearby where you can experience the thrill of the sport firsthand.
Overall, the Bergisel Ski Jump is an amazing attraction that's not to be missed. Whether you're a ski enthusiast or just looking for a unique experience in Innsbruck, this iconic landmark is sure to impress. Highly recommended!

Right downtown Innsbruck, the store is larger than you would expect. There were some great holiday pieces out. The stairs to walk up were very interesting and fun (pic attached). The staff were really helpful and plenty were available as the store itself was quite busy. There was a really long (slow-moving) line to check out and I appreciated them bringing in additional help to get things moving along. Since most purchases are from tourists, it was really helpful that they created and gave you the VAT forms at the checkout counter.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds is famous for Swarovski crystals that closely resemble diamonds.
Swarovski's jewelry does not incorporate natural diamonds or gem stones. Their crystals are synthetic glass crystal cut to look like diamonds; essentially non-precious lead glass cut into specific shapes and dimensions.

My mother is a huge fan of Swarovski, so visiting this Crystal World is equivalent to little girl visiting Disney land 😝😊🤣. The Crystal World is filled with beautiful designs Crystal and the history behind the Swarovski brand. My personal favorite part is the outdoor Crystal display outside the main Crystal World building, there are all kinds of Crystal status. At the exit, there's a massive Swarovski gift shop, which is essentially massive Swarovski outlets. There you can find collection of Swarovski jewelry at slightly discount price (compare to if purchase from other country), and the staff are very friendly and helpful at choosing the best jewelry that best suit you.

Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen Betriebs GmbH (Nordkette) is a modern transportation system connecting Innsbruck with Hungerburg, designed by Zaha Hadid. The cable car ride offers a scenic 20-minute journey to the Nordkette, showcasing breathtaking views of Innsbruck and its surrounding mountain landscapes.
Wonderful experience! The first step to see the top of Innsbruck. You can access it from the city center, where you can buy the ticket. It is recommended to bring some warm clothes, even in the spring, because on the top of the mountains, the temperature and the wind can make you feel a bit of cold.

Will give it five stars for the overall experience you get, but be prepared to be packed in like sardines in the cable cars. At a minimum you'll definitely want to consider a mask. Restaurant is very good with quality food and there are free of charge ski bikes for kids and adults to enjoy. The mountain that dominates Innsbruck. The Nordkette is part of Austria's largest nature park, the Karwendel Nature Park, and can be accessed in only a few minutes from Innsbruck's city centre! The stunning 360° vista, with the Alps' capital on one side and Tyrol's most extensive conservation area on the other, makes an indelible impact.
The Hungerburg funicular takes about 8 minutes to get to the Hungerburg. There are various stops along the route, including the Alpine Zoo, which is popular with families. Walking down the mountain and across the bridge at the end of the garden is a small cave in the rock which is interesting for kids. There are peacocks in the gardens which were also a great attraction. We arrived at the castle at around 10.00am which was perfect, it was very busy after noon time.

I strongly suggest you to go there on foot if you like hiking because you're going through such a nice natural environment as you can see from the pictures. However, don't forget to get something to drink before starting going there because your body will need to be kept hydrated since it's a bit steep and might be tiring for many. But still the view when you reach on the top is breathtaking! It's definitely worth seeing. You can also enjoy the garden area for free. Entrance fee is necessary only for the castle 🏰 So, you can consider going there for a nice weekend picnic.

Seeing the different phases and evolution the factory faced over the years is something interesting..
Selling the products at the end of the tour and having multiple languages to explain the usage of each product was really helpful.
I also enjoyed the view from the coffee shop on the roof... Very nice view

Picturesque alpine lake with shimmering turquoise waters, offering sailing, boating & hiking.
Located between the Karwendel Mountains and the Brandenberg Alps, Lake Achensee is extremely popular. It’s just beautiful. From Munich it’s almost a 2 hours drive but the views there are spectacular. This lake is very popular with surfers, windsurfers and sailors and is playfully known by locals as the “Sea of Tirol”. There are swimming areas along the shore. Many restaurants and cafes surrounds the lake. You have many parking spots. You can either take stroll around the lake or take the cable car up the Kandelwal and do a hike.

Riding the bicycle along the lake was a very fun activity. We also found a small rope park near the west-northern shore that the kids loved, it is located near a small church. We saw lots of ducks in the lake 🙂🦆🦆🦆🥇. Plan a half day here, a great activity for the whole family.

Beautiful lake to visit in Austria. It can be a bit difficult to find a parking spot (you will have to pay as well if you do). The water is turquise and shallow, sandy bottom with few rocks 🏖 Can be a bit crowded and hard to find seating in the shadow. Will definitely recommend visiting 🐚

I visited this area in August: sunny weather, tourists from many European countries, and a typical vacation atmosphere. I truly recommend the trail surrounding the lake. It's 22.5km in total, with the left size a typical mountain hike, while the rest easy and pleasant. Sailing a top attraction with SUP quite popular.

The View and Ambience is spectacular, relaxing and close to nature. You feel you are truly on Holiday or embarking on a lovely journey starting from a lovely Boat trip to a Beautiful Hiking Adventure. The Restaurant Ambience is very cozy, scenic, and energizing!! It overlooks the gorgeous Achensee, almost feels like a dream!! The food is average, but I guess the scenery and atmosphere covers for that!! The service is great and very attentive!!

We just bought a bottle of the cola! On the cash point instead of three I only took 2 because of the HIGH price of the drink. ( €4,3 for a bottle! That’s a lot!) even they should transport it everything by the lake!
Anyway, that’s a lovely restaurant located nowhere and it makes it special!

Very nice spot directly at the lake. The path from the northern end of the lake is pretty advanced. The path from Pertisau is relaxed. You can also reach it by the ferry. We didn't try the kitchen, but the self service area could get an upgrade renovation.

Super stop to get some raw milk cheese, several sorts and ages available. We first asked if we can taste and get more info and had a nice cheese-tasting and left with 1.5kg home, both cow and goat milk cheeses! Natural, 6.5-km. sledding run on Wallberg Mountain, with a cable-car lift & regional restaurant.
Great way to easily get to (almost) the top of wallberg. Getting to the very top is a hike with some rocky trails, but of course that's where you'll get the best views!

If you decide to visit Tegernsee you should visit Wallberg for sure. It’s an amazing place near the Tegernsee. The ticket for Wallbergbahn costs 27€. On the top of the mountain there is a restaurant with panoramic view. Where you can take beautiful pictures. If you travel with car , you can park near Wallbergbahn. There is a parking there. The price 4€ for 4 hours. You can pay by card or cash.
And the last advice! Better to have jacket, because on the top a little bit cold and windy.

Great place to hike.
The cable car costs 11.5€/pers one way. One can walk then until the base in about 2.5 h.

There are some hike ways possible from above as well.

I would suggest to go during the week AND make sure the Rodelbahn is actually open. You can find that info in the website or just call them.
I was unlucky enough to go all the way there just for the Rodelbahn to be closed. But the good thing is, on that Friday it was very empty. On Saturday it was very crowded and if you arrive late in the day, they might not have Schlitten und you will have to wait. Just expect big crowds on weekends.

Absolutely worth the visit. To get up and down on cable car you will pay 27 EUR. Make sure you have sunglasses and something to cover your head, because you get higher than the clouds so most likely it will be sunny. Also try walking routes. We were dressed incorrectly for hiking, in jeans and new shoes, but it was okay.

Decent price of 25€ per person. Best part is we don't have to wait for cable car. It is small cars which can accomodate a group of 4 max and runs continuously. So once we have tickets it barely takes time to get inside cable car. The ride and view of the snow capped mountains are mesmerizing from the cable car.
Nymphenburg Palace is a magnificent estate covering 200 hectares, boasting rococo interiors and symmetrical baroque gardens. This stunning place showcases unique artwork, including frescos depicting mythological creatures. Inside, visitors can marvel at towering tapestries that offer insights into the lives of prominent German families between the 1600s and 1800s. The palace's grounds feature smaller structures such as Badenburg, known for its intricate baths, and Amalienburg, a hunting lodge.
Good place with very minimal to see compared to Residenz, but the park here in front of the castle and back is very beautiful

Garden & pavilions are sublime! It goes without saying that the palace is magnificent, but be sure to devote time to take in the majestic garden and four pavilions, each one a more fantastical folly than the next. A wonderful way to spend a half-day in Munich - it feels like a day trip outside the center but it’s only a tram ride away.

What an amazing place! Nymphenburg Palace is underrated on many reviews and has so much to see and do. The palace itself is amazing but the garden palaces are the places to see. Once you start walking the palace grounds you come across the minor buildings that are just amazing and HAVE to be seen. The minor details of the smaller buildings are astonishing and something you could never imagine and shows you what true wealth was in the times of this palace. You need to dedicate several hours to visiting the Palace and it’s well worth the ticket price.

Expansive, scenic and a great outing. Give yourself more time as the grounds are huge!
Easy to get to on public transit.
We spent over 4 hours there and we almost had our camera bag locked overnight as they closed at 6 when we saw 8 on Google.
Luckily they let my son back in to retrieve it.
The buildings were so elegant and the level of detail in the decorating and the craftsmanship in the art and furnishings were sometimes overwhelming. We really could have used more time for exploring. There were times when we didn't feel we were in the middle of the city. We heard birdsong and water. Kids playing made it sweet. A wonderful outing.

Beautiful 1700s palace built in the French romantic style. It will take you about 45 minutes to tour the palace, another 45 for the tables and 2-3 hours to explore the grounds. I recommend buying the all inclusive pass ahead of time because lines are long.

The place is very nice and scenic. If you are interested to visit inside the Palace, you need to purchase €10 ticket. For guided trip and museum, you need to pay an additional €8. During my visit a few rooms were closed due to renovation. During weekend, expect a queue of 10-20 people for the tickets. Also inside the Palace.

It’s 15th Century Palace which is simply beautiful. €15 is worth to pay for ticket that gives you access to the main Palace, museum and all the Park Pavilions and Lodges.
I was feeling happy for trip to Nymphenburg Palace. The decor and architecture is splendid. It was beautiful, but it made me sad that in the winter you can’t fully see everything cause the statues are covered (although I do get the reason) and inside you can only see one floor. Nymphenburg Palace is an absolute gem! My visit here left me awe-inspired. The palace's architecture is breathtaking, and the vast gardens surrounding it are like a piece of paradise on Earth.
The interior of the palace is a step back in time to the opulence of Bavarian royalty. Each room is exquisitely decorated and tells a rich history. The porcelain rooms were a personal favorite, showcasing some of the finest porcelain craftsmanship I've ever seen.
The extensive gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the fountains are a true marvel. I visited during the summer, and it was a delight to see the fountains in full splendor.
The staff at Nymphenburg Palace were friendly and helpful, offering insights into the history and culture of this magnificent place. I highly recommend taking a guided tour to get the most out of your visit.
Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or simply looking for a beautiful and serene escape, Nymphenburg Palace is an absolute must-visit. It's an experience that will stay with you forever, and I can't wait to return.

The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site in Germany serves as a solemn place of remembrance and education, showcasing the horrors of the Holocaust during World War II. Located near Munich, visitors can easily access this historic site through a five-hour tour that includes transportation from the city. Arrive early and sign up for tour at the visitor center. Entry to memorial is free but tour was about 11 euros per person. The limited group size English led tour is at 11 am and takes about 2 hours. There is a lot of information in the museum and take the extra time (since you arrived early) to go through the material on your own (tour will not spend time with exhibits). Dress appropriately for walking and the weather. There is a small cafeteria in the visitor center.

The camp, the bunks are mostly recreated as everything was destroyed after World War II but still very heart wrenching to read all the accounts of torture they had to undergo in the very room and ground. Those brave brave souls... It's a good reminder of what humankind has been through and a homage to those who fought for their lives and others'.

Great Experience - I don't really recommend getting the audio (€4.50). Just something else to keep up with. It's just as easy to read the posters all around. Will you do one person working the line? The line was out the door. One person working the line to return the speakers while one person was standing in the information booth. Not doing anything., And wouldn't assist.
Other than that small snafu - Great place to reflect on our past and try to remember not to repeat history.

Absolutely incredibly powerful place to visit. It’s very well presented and managed - combination of extensive museum exhibits with text (multiple languages), artifacts, real life stories, videos, and pictures. Be sure to read as much as possible as you tour.
There are memorials and public art throughout the site that represent many different backgrounds of the victims impacted. Careful reconstruction has been done on a few buildings, some original buildings remain, and much of the open ground is there from where original buildings once stood.
We spent nearly 4.5 hours there and could have easily spent longer as learned lots.
Audio guides in different languages are available.

Definitely worth visiting, but a somber day relative to most tourist experiences. The displays are very informative and in English and German. We used the virtual tour on our phones and felt like we for a great overview between that and the extensive museum. Audioguidesare available, but we did not use. Be prepared to walk a bit but it is flat. First thing when you arrive, check on the time of the documentary movie in your language as it fills fast and we never got in. Plan on spending at least 2-3 hours. Facilities like WC and Cafe were clean and good quality. The muffin I had and strudel we ate was fabulous.

Very sobering place. We arrived early in the morning around 0930hrs and left around 1100hrs —we could have spend more time here but our little ones were getting restless! Right when we were leaving several buses were arriving packed with people. My suggestion is if you’re looking to have a solemn visit go early!
The parking lot is €3 bring cash. If you go in the information center they have headphones to translate. I also saw groups with a host but I’m not sure if you are able to sign up before hand or at the information center.

Not quite right to say that you enjoyed visiting Dachau as it is a memorial to a terrible time but it is done very well. I would have like to see more of how they lived in the camp and daily life (there were lots of written information) but it would be more informative to see it reconstructed. We learnt more about the rise of fascism and it is a good reminder of the insidious nature of these regimes. Definitely worth visiting.
Amanda Stephenson — Google review
It's heavy but worth it. I'm a history buff, and there were things on this visit I didn't even know. People say you need 2-3 hours, and it was my second time there and going thriving the whole thing (not enough time the first time). You need way more than 3 hours if you want to see everything, read everything and do the walk of remembrance.
Kelly Goodman — Google review
This is a sad reminder of one of the darkest moments in human history, preserved and presented to help us never forget and never repeat.
As this is a somber place, there is no food on the grounds, so eat either before or after you visit.
Photos and videos may be upsetting, and one should consider this before coming.
The town of Dachau is a lovely residential neighborhood. The grounds surrounding the camp are wooded, grassy, and pleasant: a surprising contrast.
Worth a visit. Plan on spending some hours reading the placards and contemplating the meaning of this memorial.
Marienplatz, the vibrant heart of Munich, serves as a central gathering place for locals and tourists alike. This city-center square and transport hub is home to St. Peter's church, two town halls, and a toy museum. It is renowned for its iconic New Town Hall and the Mariensaule column dedicated to St. Mary.
A great location in Munich with countless places to shop, eat, and relax. The central square is also so large and distinct that it’s a helpful landmark for those of us visiting from out of country, and for meeting up with friends. The architecture is beautiful. The atmosphere is bustling. We had some great times, and great food here.

Main square. Very beautiful architecture, with non-standard design of balconies and stained glass windows. Each part of the buildings is unique in its own way. When you stand on this square, you temporarily forget that today is the 21st century - the surrounding environment takes you to the Middle Ages, the time of knights. This square is truly the historical center of Munich.

The performances in the square were entertaining too. It's definitely a spot you don't want to miss if you are in Munich. The train will take you directly there if you aren't in walking distance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby.

This town square is a must visit in Munich. The architecture is simply gorgeous, with its unique balconies and windows designs/colors. There are many street stalls selling foods and drinks, souvenirs and branded stuff. Also, numerous street artists were performing when we were there. This further adds to the colorfulness and character of the area. The design makes us forget that we are in the modern days and takes us back to many centuries ago.
There are lots to see, shop, eats for every taste and individual, from beer markets to restaurants. Our family of 4 enjoyed ourselves thoroughly here. Pity we were here on a day trip only. Will come back if we have the chance.

Beautiful place, crowded but lots of shops and pigeons. I recommend visiting. The glockenspiel show isn't anything impressive. I recommend taking the elevator for a few euro up the town hall and seeing a view of Munich.

Just perfect for enjoying your beer out in the open, there are many bars or cafe around. And of course… the expensive shopping nearby. Any brand you can think of, you will find it here.

Wonderful Square in center of Munich. Been here 4 years ago and it is always a pleasure to be on this historical place! Many shops, nice eateries, souvenirs, just enjoy and take a walk through the city center of Munich!

The square serves as the heart of the city, bustling with activity and surrounded by historic landmarks.
The centerpiece of Marienplatz is the awe-inspiring New Town Hall. Its towering spires and intricate Gothic design took my breath away. Watching the famous Glockenspiel come to life was a true delight.
The square is filled with charming shops, cafes, and restaurants that lined its edges. From traditional Bavarian clothing stores to contemporary boutiques, there was something for every taste.
Marienplatz square in Munich truly captured the essence of the city. Its historic charm, lively atmosphere, and central location make it an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a history buff, a shopaholic, a food enthusiast, or simply seeking an authentic Bavarian experience, Marienplatz square has it all.

Heart of the Munich City. Every person visiting this beautiful city must have visited or passed through the Marienplatz.. city center of Munich. Most of the household items and all the shops are found here. Always a crowded place. It is definitely a safe place even though it's crowded. People are nice, they just care their own business. Place for all the young people to vibe around and spend nice time with the closed ones. Great place to pass time. Looks very beautiful during the spring 🌼 and summer 🌞⛱️ season. Nice tulips flowers 🌺🌹 are planted in this place.. everyday show time for the bell ringing amazes people and keeps them wait there and watch the show for few minutes.. no tickets and entrance fee are required. A lot of souvenir shops are found in this place .. highfi city area. Have fun visiting Munich Marienplatz.

A nice place in the center of city with beautiful and amazing central location in Munich. The architecture is beautifully done. the central square is spacious and you can have a walk around old historical buildings as well as observe monuments around. They worth taking pictures of.
The main reason people love to visit here is its atmosphere at the time of ticking clock tower with dancing dolls. It has couple of very tall towers from where you can have breathtaking views of Munich city.
It’s a crowded place because main shopping street next to it. A lots of shopping stores, cafes & restaurants around for quick shopping or grabbing a quick bite.
Don’t drive there because parking is bite far but best traveling by subway. If you are planning to visit Munich, this place is a must visit.

Great views, lots to see, shop, eats for every preference. We had a blast walking all over this area. Loved the market too. Fresh everything. Beautiful place to spend time and learn bits of Munich.

It's an absolutely beautiful building. The clock tower rings out, high above the other buildings and through the streets. The figures dance around on a carousel. There are statues and dragons and works of stone from a very long time ago. Many people gather around, taking photos and videos as it chimes. Inside has some interesting features, like gargoyles and spiral staircase, more statues and some doors to walk through. Check it out.
The German Museum of Masterpieces of Science and Technology is a vast museum that showcases original artifacts and interactive displays on energy, transportation, and astronomy. It holds the title of being the largest technology museum globally, spanning over 50,000 square meters and exhibiting around 28,000 objects. The museum offers a unique experience as it combines traditional exhibits with hands-on activities such as demonstrations, experiments, and media stations. Visitors can engage with various subjects ranging from agriculture to photography to space technology.
We worked our way through the museum, from the top floor (space) down to the basement (mining), and it is clear where the museum has spent money and where it is in sad need of attention. This is a very big museum where you can spend more than 1 day if you wanted to! The museum has thousands of objects on display, all aimed at science and technology. It includes several different floors and different themes throughout the building. Totally recommended if you’re into science or technology related things!

The amount of detail that is put into this place is amazing. You can find out anything about technology, from microchips, cameras/photography, to modern stuff like robotics and space shuttles. I would suggest arming yourself with a bag of popcorn, a big cola, 6 hours of free time and a lot of patience to have a great experience.

Amazing place if you are here to learn. The museum has almost everything science and technology from robotics to encryption and everything in between! You can spend weeks and months here without getting bored!
There are also live demonstrations every hour during weekend (only in German though)!
Would highly recommend to visit this place!

Great place, lots of fun. There are 6 different levels, takes a ton of time to visit them all. Friendly note: 5-6PM you can get in for free. I know it's far from sufficient to go through everything, but it's at least something.

Definitely a museum that deserves 5 stars. It explains very well what civilization is. There are many places to visit in different branches. It's a great place for kids too. There are very nice activities and applications that they can try and do. 14 euros per person. There is a family discount. I would recommend it to everyone.

Really cool place of you love engineering. It os a very visual experience and there are a lot of things to explain here. It doesn't feel like it is a place dedicated for kids so adults can also have fun in their knowledge exploration. There is a lot of information and it is really well designed but I strongly recommend choosing a section sticking to it and enjoy on part of the museum as there is too much to see. Each section really delves into details and it will be impossible to grasp everything in one go.
Stefan Tudor — Google review
This is a really cool museum with plenty to see, also a very big variation. Everything from airplanes to harvest equipment. A very interesting museum, but it is very crowded usually with a lot of school classes visiting it and generally a very long queue to the entrance, but if you are interested in technology it is totally worth the waiting time.

Best science museum in the world.
Magnificently curated with diversity of topics, but most of them treated with a great deal of thoroughness.
Plenty of interactive examples and representations of scientific concepts as well as history of scientific discoveries.
Access is pretty easy.
There is a downloadable museum app that is like nothing I have ever seem before.

A very big museum with a lot of interesting things!
There's a lot of expositions where you can interact with it, and for me that's a most have for a museum about technology.
The price is a little bit expensive (14 euros for adults) but there are some discounts ( 4,5 euros for students).
What confuses me is that the minimum payment by credit card is 20 euros... That's really not convenient for tourists

A lot of exhibits, various things and a lot to learn. The museum is very well organized, many interactive items, several places where you can have a quick snack, drink a cofee or a beer. If you plan to visit it reserve at least 4 hours from your time to do that.I strongly recommend visiting this place!

One of the most entertaining museums I’ve ever visited. There are numerous exhibits that facilitate learning. I recommend planning to spend the entire day there. It is definitely worth visiting multiple times. There is a special room where only adults accompanied by children are allowed; you cannot enter without a child.

It takes a long time to buy tickets, because many school students go there together. It's better to set aside a day to visit the museum. Personally, I feel that this museum is very suitable for scientific enlightenment. It has a basic and comprehensive display of agricultural science, technology, music, aviation and industry.

This is a HUGE museum, so don’t expect to see it all in one day, but it truly has so much to offer adults and kids. The exhibits are extremely educational and well-curated, and the location is great as well. You can go for a stroll along the Isar afterwards! They also have a restaurant with a rooftop terrace which gets pretty crowded on nice days, but it’s a great atmosphere!
Angie Ann — Google review
Possibly the best museum I have ever been to. Ranging from aircraft to an entire section on suspension bridges. As well as model railways, scientific discoveries, musical instruments — you name it. You definitely need a full day to see it all — if not multiple days! I particularly liked how the pendulum from the outside clock tower hangs all the way down the central staircase to the ground floor, where you can watch it swinging.
Cian Tempest — Google review
As the bigger part of the museum is under renovation until 2028, there is a new part of the museum that is still accessible. The ticket costs 15€. I loved the quantum physics section, satellites, and optical instruments. Other sections are bridges, farming, medicine and musical instruments. More sections such as microbiology are still under construction. Can easily spend 4 hours here. Not suitable for children as the topics are quite complicated.

Great place to spend a full day. Tons of technical experience to enjoy!
Munich Residenz is a grand complex consisting of palaces, buildings, and gardens that house state-owned museums. It showcases original interiors and artworks. In Munich, there are occasional markets that are worth visiting, especially on sunny Saturday mornings. The flea markets in the city stand out as private citizens sell their unwanted goods with little commercial interest.
By far one of my favorite activities during our entire vacation. The history that the palace held was amazing and the way the tour was presented kept me excited for each room. I paid for the audio guide and really enjoyed the explanations on the guide. A tip for those using an audio guide would be to bring a pair of headphones you can plug in to the guide so you don’t have to hold it up to your ear. I highly recommend setting aside time for stopping and exploring! Be sure to arrive with plenty of time before closing. They do not allow entry one hour before closing.

If you've got plenty of free time, it's a good visit. If you've only got 48 hours in the city though, you won't be missing out by not going. There's a lot of rooms there and some are incredible, but a large section of it just feels like a huge empty building. Towards the end there's a lot of objects to see but for a large part it feels un-lived-in as opposed to being preserved from the time it was lived in. Most of the staff seem annoyed by tourists, which is slightly inconvenient seen as its a tourist destination. On the plus side though, there are some incredible rooms and the surrounding area is beautiful, historic and worth seeing. Finally the German guy born to Italian parents working in the ticket booth was great, super helpful and really friendly.

Very grand, very big, and very worth the visit.
We came a couple of hours before close on a Sunday, and had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes to buy tickets. They have free audio guides as well as a coat check.
The space is massive - they have an option for the Full Tour and a shortened version. We visited at the end our day and we're exhausted, so we raced through the full tour in a little over an hour, but expect to spend 2-3 hours in just the museum to really appreciate everything and listen to the audio tour.

The biggest and the most worthy to visit city Palace in Germany. Plan for at least half a day to visit using audio-guide and enjoy walking at your pace throug more than 100 rooms, full of art and history. You can admire a mixture of styles, from renaissance to baroque and rococo.

For ~ 9 € you can enter and see by yourself the greatness of this huge palace. This place was used as residence for bavarian monarch from ~ 1385 to 1918. You can also use a guide your (very useful) but almost all rooms also have the explanation written. It’s very nice to observe all the architecture and history/ representation behind the paintings in the walls and ceilings.
Although this place has A LOT of rooms, so keep in mind this tour is very tiresome (kids may be bored) and lasts something like 2.5h. There you be a “short” path and a “long” one as you are visiting, you choose.

Rivals the Vatican in sheer size and awe inspiring works and rooms.
Massive location - highly recommend planning on at least 3-4 hours. You can blaze through faster but it’s worth the time to enjoy yourself.
I loved the theater. Very quick “tour” but its jaw dropping.
Karl Whinnery — Google review
Surrounding area is very nice with big open space (park-like), also there are some theaters near by.
I wanted to really explore this historic place so it was very nice. It’s a really long tour so if you’re planning to visit, please make sure to have comfortable shoes and bring some water. Toilet facilities were fine and clean but there was no place to get water and after the tour I was really dehydrated. It was a warm day so it was pretty difficult for me after 2-3 hours of tour.
Machi M — Google review
Worth the price (I paid 10 euros)!
Just have in mind that the place is 95% restored and you will see very little of original spaces.
You can choose to take the long (2-3 hours) or short (1 hour) path inside the Residenz.
You can walk in your own pace and don’t need to follow a group. Audio guide is an option.

A must visit in Munich. There were about 130 rooms to tour through, all of which are filled with opulent furniture and decorations. You can spend 2-3 hours in here and all at the low cost of 10 euros for the entrance fee. We had a blast looking at everything and there was no wait and barely any other visitors inside (off peak season however).

Very cool place to explore. It’s not as ‘grand’ as for example, the palace of Versailles, but it sure has its charm and some very interesting stories to tell. The self guided tour is well organised so you get to see everything and learn via the free audio guides provided. The price is acceptable and you can easily spend a whole afternoon in this old Royal residence.

An interesting building, but overall a bit of a letdown. I would not queue for entry. It took us about an hour to go through the whole place, the audio guide was far too detailed to be interesting so we ended up not listening to anything beyond the first few rooms. The audio guide is free and available in many languages.
We visited at 3pm on Wednesday in December and there was no queue.

What a lot to take in! We started with the treasury and I’m glad we did. The residence became overwhelming with so much to look at. They say 45 minutes. I think 2-3 hours.
Thankfully there weren’t many people making it more enjoyable.

A very impressive palatial residence in the centre of Munich. Entry is €10 and it takes a couple of hours to go round, more if you listen to the audioguide in every room (available free in multiple languages). There are also signs in German and English with a brief description of each room. Every room is ornately decorated, but it does become a little bit samey after a while. Worth the money, but it's good not great.

Personally I admire watching technology as I’m a technology buff.
For a moment I felt that I was in the future altogether since there was next level artificial intelligence.
BMW has achieved wonders when it comes to transitioning to electric vehicles and technology which I couldn’t decipher since we do not have something like this in India.
They had such unimaginable displays of cars that is difficult to let go off.
The thing that stole the show was the robotic cafe. It was completely automatic. You just had to pay and the thing would do everything on its own.
BMW welt was completely free but the museum charged a nominal fee and that’s completely justified.
Moreover, it is situated at Olympia Park U Bahn station and is pretty convenient to go across.
So overall, 5 stars for everything.

Fantastic place for moto fans including some history of aircraft engines.
Highly recommend - if you don’t want to wait in a queue then buy tickets online in advance. Enjoy the cars and motorcycle evolution.

What an incredible experience! We loved walking around the BMW museum. There is so much to see and it is all presented on such unique ways. You could spend the whole day in here and see the history of BMW from its founding days until now. I highly recommend visiting this if you are in Munich and love cars.

The museum is excellent, a huge number of specimens. All years and eras of production. There were no queues to enter. Lots of motorcycles, cars, engines, car frames. A walk of 3 hours or more.. Very interesting and impressive.

Absolutely magnificent museum. It is carefully curated and all the areas give some sense of the history of BMW, and for fans and just curious people alike, it is thoroughly recommended.
We only spent one hour and a half there, because they closed at 18:00. But I feel like it would take maybe 2-3h to see the Museum perfectly, understanding everything so beautifully displayed there.

Every car lover will love this place. What a place!!!🫶
Every information how it started and how many things they have worked for.
Vertical growth and horizontal growth. Both are shown here and its embraced in a good way here.
Highly recommended for anyone who comes to Germany.

I’m not a big fan of cars, so BMW WELT/world is enough for me. It’s free entry (vs. 10euro for BMW museum). The venue and display was set up in an very aesthetic way brought in a pleasant experience. Also u get brilliant view of the BMW “four engine” & “super bowl” building at 2nd floor exit

Building looks cool from the outside and the museum design and path are really good, some nice voice features I've never seen before. Some of the bike areas empty but all cars and engine(mostly Formula and planes) sections are great(especially the f1 and and the touring racing). Price is reasonable for 1.5h - 2h museum.

Nice museum to visit if you like automotive. Displays some of the historic cars, motorcycles, and products of BMW. The museum walks you through the history of BMW and their values. You get to see pieces from history and the modern ones too.
Plan to spend 2-3 hours here. No line when we visited in December. Conveniently located by a train stop.

Amazing museum to visit. The BMW Welt is connected to the BMW Museum by a pedestrian bridge. The BMW Welt is free to visit , but the BMW museum costs 10 euros. It worth every penny. The museum is dome shaped and the welt is four cylinder building. Many amazing cars and bikes to see. The factory tour was one of my favorites. We got to see how different parts are made.

Every enthusiasts dream place but as much as it was interesting and had some good cars/bikes it sort of lacked my expectations.
I wanted more, more M cars, Alpinas, maybe even a car to sit in but it's all a bit bland considering. I did learn a few things and would recommend but don't go in expecting a 10 star wow factor

A Dream Place to visit for the BMW owners and lovers!
Not much to say as you have to come and visit this place.
Definitely buy tickets online, save your time on waiting at the counter. We bought tickets online, its was a quick entry for us.
Dressing storage room is downstairs, I suggest to drop your coats there as its very warm inside.
We enjoyed our time here and will be back again.

If you are passionate about cars and motorcycling you must stop at the BMW museum!
The story of the brand is told in a very clear and engaging way. The route is intuitive and well signposted. Also noteworthy is the bar/bistro which offers many vegan dishes 🌱

History, passion, technology and future of mobility in one place. One of the must see museums while visiting Munich. You need at least 2 hours to visit the museum, catching some live tours or explanations from the museum staff. Across the street you can visit for free the BMW showroom showcasing new models, but also having some rare exhibitions sometimes.

Amazing place. Fan boy or not this place has great history to show. All the cars at the museum are very unique and are described with great depth of detail which all the history behind the vehicles. If you are in the Munich or are at a close city I recommend visiting. A must see! Loads of gifts shops available at entrance of museum and at the BMW Welt area. Canteen has all sorts of hot and cold food so it won’t be difficult to plan your day here. It has a large car park finding space is not a struggle and it’s not expensive. Bays are large all sorts of vehicles can fit there no problem.

If you are cats lover, you will enjoy it. It has rich content. Not a fan of the museum journey experience, we were bet confused of where to start and where to go next. In general, highly recommended.

A must see place once visiting Munich. Nice cars and history. It is also good that there is no barrier and you can closely explore the cars. The only missing point is that the station wagon section was closed due to renewal.

Cool museum with great curation. Worth visiting if you are interested in motored vehicles, history, and of course BMW. Though I am not a big fan of cars or BMW, I still enjoyed the museum as it is. (Tip: Once you enter you will see a QR code which you can use to buy an online ticket, it will save you time.)

What an amazing experience!
It was great to read about the history of BMW as well as see all the classic cars. Airplane engines, motorbikes etc. really great open space museum. Well laid out, doesn’t feel claustrophobic which is good also.

Very interesting museum to visit. Might get a bit crowded, so be prepared for that. There's also a decent cafe inside for quick snacks.
Definitely would recommend a visit if your in Munich.

We expected more from the museum itself, where new cars and motorcycles are top notch, museums don’t provide headphones, the history and eras are completely incomprehensible, you need to take a guided tour, there at certain times. The site for purchasing online tickets does not work, the site is bad. There's a line outside, we're frozen, try buying online and you'll be invited. Not the first museum, but a completely terrible organization.

Interesting place, if you like auto history. Lots of models, starting from the 19th century. Messages in English and German. Several cars are open, and you can feel yourself a bus driver, for example.
I also like the building.
Huge gift shop sells clothes, models, kids toys and many many other things
Parking is on low levels, follow the signs.

If you think the Welt is impressive, please step into the museum. Immerse yourself into the past and present plus a glimpse of the future!
We spent 3.5 hours and that’s not enough! So much to read. So much to learn. Like I said, we now understand our own cars better!
Even my sister, who’s a die-hard Mercedes owner, agreed that both the BMW Welt and the museum were awesome. But now, because of this museum, she wants to visit Stuttgart next, to see whether the Mercedes Museum is as impressive as this one!

A museum to be seen and visited. You need to spend about 3 hours. It is a teaching and instructive museum. Car lovers should definitely go. Interesting contents and vehicles. BMW quality can be felt here! The gift shop was bad. You don’t have many choices.

We planned to visit this museum before our trip, and it's indeed an excellent museum to learn about BMW’s history, vision, and future of the company, as well as explore BMW cars from the past, present, and future. This museum is for all ages, and it's incredible. I highly recommend it.

An excellent museum, which you must visit if you are in Munich. Large historical collection of cars and motorcycles, marine and aircraft engines.
Considering the very large number of models, it leaves you breathless, even if you are not a fan of BMW. Everything is clearly marked and if you follow the numbers, you will visit the entire museum without any problems. Since you cannot bring Russian money into the museum, they have lockers that are locked by inserting a €1 coin, which you take back later when you take your things. Tickets are only €10. Very friendly staff, who will be happy to help you with any ambiguities. We were there on Saturday, given the excellent organization, we entered without waiting. I repeat, if you are in Munich, it is really worth paying €10 to visit this museum!

The English Garden is an expansive urban park in Munich, constructed in the 18th century. Spanning a vast area of 375 hectares (927 acres), it offers a multitude of activities for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. Surrounded by several neighborhoods and running alongside the river, this park boasts an impressive network of 78km (50 miles) cycling and jogging trails. Its natural beauty is enhanced by carefully designed landscapes, providing both excitement and comfort to visitors.
This place is just wow, scenic place with lot of places to admire the nature.
You can either walk, cycle inside the park, kids will. Enjoy the vast open space to play.
There is a place at entrance where people surf on the water flow.
You need at least half day to roam around the Garden to enjoy it completely

Beautiful place but due to the winter season it was very grayish and of course the water was frozen. It should one of the most green/colorful place during summer and autumn.

Huge, close to town, and beautiful. You can swim, enjoy a crate of beer there, sunbathe, even surf. It does get very crowded on summer afternoons, so perhaps come in the morning from April-August. There’s plenty of shade by the sides and a couple of beer gardens for a bite and a drink. Police regularly has a presence in the area.

One of my favorites spots in Munich.
During summer is full of people and you can do many activities there. To play volleyball you need your own nett but eventually you also can ask to join others team. You can swim and do the famous and traditional jump from the bridge at Isar. I always go with my friends, but sometimes after work I go there just to relax, feel some sun and read my book.

Definitely a park to visit when in Munich. The English garden is very peaceful, there are many walking trails, places to sit and have a picnic or stop at the Chinese Tower where you can purchase delicious food and drinks. Don't miss the area where the river surfing 🌊 takes place. Usually 10 or more surfers line up to get their turn. All ages, young and old! We were here at the end of September 2023. Beautiful weather and really enjoyed our stroll though the park. There are maps to help you not get lost, as the park is quite large. Many tours go to the English garden, biking tours, walking tours and we ever saw horseback riding (but not sure if that was a tour). Most of the trails we were on were paved and wide. Enjoy!

This may have actually been my favorite place in Munich. Right in the middle of the city is a huge park. Luckily our hotel was right next to the park. I went for a run and/or walk every day in the park. There are so many trails that only was able to get to a small portion of the park, but it seemed very safe and it was so green with lots of rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. There are also Reataurants/Beer gardens spread throughout the park.

An amazing park in the heart of Munich.
The park is huge and finishing without a break in a one day is really hard, impossible for me :D
There are different section in this park and even you can pass by bus as well.
The Allianz Arena is the home stadium of Bayern Munich and has a capacity of 75,000. The stadium features a magnificent backlighting that changes color constantly, as well as a museum with all of Bayern Munich's won trophies.
Visited for the NFL 2022 Munich game.
The stadium is stunning and the service was top class.
Queues were managed really well and there was never a huge wait for anything. Getting in was easy but security was also thorough which is good. The bag drop process was really smooth and quick, both upon entry and leaving.
Staff were super friendly and spoke many different languages to cater to all.
The food was gorgeous and the prices were reasonable for stadium prices. Will definitely visit again!

I took the tour and then went into the museum. As a football fan I had always wanted to go to this stadium. The guide was very clear, he took us to the most important places, and answered every question that people did. The experience was great, however as they were fixing/preparing the grass, it was impossible to appreciate the soccer field in a 100%. I recommend to visit it during the season, and during the afternoon/night, when the stadium coverage is on (mainly red).

A must visit if you are visiting Munich. Will advise to buy tickets in advance if you want to see full Arena in tour. Very amazingly made. All facilities are worth seeing. We missed seeing the night when the Arena gets lit up but still we enjoyed seeing it. A must must visit for sure.

It's a legendary place, we just wanted to enter the stadium and see it, but the packages are not only entered into the stadium; There are only two museum tours or museum+stada entrance. I can't say that the prices are extremely affordable, but when we went, they were on sale sometimes, but beware, they may be closed on some days. Other than that it's beautiful.

Good location just next to U6 subway but also not a lot around as a city, such as touristic activities. Most people visit here and that's all that's around the area (compared to many other parts of Munich city).
Entry fee isn't bad, and there's a museum to explore and appreciate trophies, or even buy a jersey.
Not a bad experience but niether great except you're here as football enthusiast.

Amazing stadium, the entirety of the place is truly great, from the U-bahn station created solely for the stadium, the views. Every part of it is amazing, the tour through the inside was great and being able to have a little more insight on what the players see before a match is amazing.

During our visit to the Alianz Arena and FC Bayern museum, we couldn't help but notice a pile of trash right at the entrance from the parking lot. It was a bit off-putting, considering the reputation of the venue. Additionally, after purchasing our tickets, we encountered a challenge as there was no one available to provide further information in English. This language barrier was a bit frustrating.
On a positive note, the stadium itself was impressive, and the museum offered a decent experience. However, there was something lacking in the overall atmosphere. Perhaps more friendly and smiling faces among the staff or additional elements to enhance the visitor experience would have made a significant difference. In the end, the visit fell short of our expectations, leaving room for improvement in certain aspects of the overall environment.
