The beach of Lagoinha do Leste is a beautiful crescent of sand on the southern end of the island. It's a great spot for swimming or just soaking up the sun, but it can be difficult to access, so it's not always crowded. The views are amazing and there's plenty of space to play.
We hiked in the long way and then hiked out the steep way, would highly highly recommend

Amazing trail to get there and amazing views
Jan Burger — Google review
Excellent beach. It has no structure or buildings. Very natural. The difficult access makes it harder to be overcrowded, but it's definitely worth it. The sea and the lagoon is amazing, and you can even swim with the fish. Be sure to be in great shape. Don't leave your trash behind.
Danilo Rodrigues Jr — Google review
I believe this is the most secluded beach I’ve ever been. To get there you have 2 options. First, you go to Armação beach then cross the river if low tide or the bridge to go to Matadeiro beach. Once you arrive in matadeiro walk to the very end and you will find a track that leads you to Lagoinha. Take plenty of water and food because it’s a long hike, approximately 2 hours. Second option is to take a bus from armação to Pântano do Sul and there is another track that leads you to Lagoinha do Leste Beach which is much shorter, around an hour hiking.

Dan Sternick — Google review
One hour walk from the main road, long bus ride there or relatively cheap uber (we paid 60 reales). A few restaurants on the beach and probably another 45 minutes up to the top lookout
Thomas B — Google review
This beach is like a hidden paradise. You can only access it by boat or on foot.
There are 2 trail options: the shortest trail starts at Pântano do Sul but it’s VERY steep - you’ll basically be going up nature’s steps for 35 minutes in a closed up forest and then down for 25 more. Be physically prepared!
The other one starts at Praia da Armação and is much longer - 2.5 hours in total but it is lighter and it has wonderful views as half of it is open aired (bring lots of water and sun block though!!).
Reaching the beach is absolutely rewarding. It is by far on of the most beautiful, peaceful beaches I’ve ever been to.
Aline S. Boff — Google review
The best and the absolute best!
I would recommend start in Armaçao and end in Pãntano do Sul. Take the less used route for Pãntano do Sul which is first to climb the top and then merge with the obvious more famous trail. Figuring it out that's half the fun!

Matadeiro Beach is a serene sandy shoreline adorned with a few modest eateries. It can be reached on foot via a bridge and a trail, making it easily accessible. This beach in Florianopolis stands out with its astonishing azure waters and an impressive ambiance. A tranquil and pleasant atmosphere permeates the area, enhanced by a trendy bar conveniently located on the beachfront. Matadeiro Beach has the potential to become anyone's top choice in Florianopolis due to its remarkable appeal.
You can pay R$40 to park and then walk across a bridge and take a 5 minute trail to access the beach. Really beautiful with fun waves and a couple cafes in the sand.
BIA — Google review
Great beach overall. Access is made by a small and easy hiking walkway. It is a good spot for surfers, as waves are frequent and the beach isn't cramped with people casually swimming. It has no exit at its southern end besides the start of the hiking trail. It has some small restaurants through its course.

You can find good local restaurants during the high season.

Praia do Rosa is a renowned tropical destination known for its sandy beaches, snack stalls, hiking trails, surfing opportunities and whale watching. This beach is often confused with Garopaba due to its access through the neighboring municipality. The surrounding landscape of Praia do Rosa features two beautiful hills, preserved vegetation and lagoons that attract numerous visitors during summer. The sea at this beach varies considerably due to the extensive stretch of sand.

Very nice place, it wasn't crowdy at this time of the year, December, streets are thin so I bet it's crazy to drive a car here in busy season
Farol de Santa Marta is a picturesque lighthouse situated amidst sandy beaches and dunes, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views from the top. It's an idyllic destination to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. However, signal reception may not be reliable in some areas due to its remote location. The village itself is quite petite with limited night-time activities, but there are stunning beaches nearby that can be accessed via short trails.
The village didn't change much in the last 10 years, which - for me - is positive. I love the atmosphere. The lighthouse is somewhat nostalgic. If you're lucky, the Cardoso beach will surprise you with nice waves and crystal clear water.
Alexandre Schmidt — Google review
Spectacular view from the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits. You have to park your car on the street and walk up a trail to the top of the hill , but it’s and extremely easy walk without too much inclination. It was summer when we went, so flowers were blooming and butterflies where hovering all around. This is a fascinating location for birdwatchers given the variety of birds flying around the trail. Once at the top of the hill and facing north, there’s is a stunning view of an old cemetery overlooking the ocean and a sand dune covered beach. Facing west, you are directly about the beach and town of Santa Marta. And East, is obviously an open view of the ocean crashing upon rocks. The lighthouse was closed, but even so, the view is worth the short hike up.

Great place for a city escape. Signal reception is not good, non existent in some places. The village is really small, with not much to do, specially at night. There are great beaches to visit, some accessed through short trails.
Paula Ceccon Ribeiro — Google review
A very privileged view of the ocean, the Lighthouse is an unmissable tourist spot. The surrounding beaches are excellent.
Fabio Renê Silva — Google review
An antique lighthouse that long ago functioned with whale oil.
Beautiful and well-maintained, with bright white paint. The reason I only gave 4 stars was due to faulty directions, Google deposited us next to a cemetery. A couple of locals told us we could get to the lighthouse from there, and we found a section of fence missing and a small footpath twisting among cactus and tall grasses and weeds. Once we arrived at the lighthouse we pivoted and saw a sign behind us warning that venomous snakes were in that area. The area we had just crossed. Now we had a snake-infested field between us and 12-yr-old and our car. We couldn't shout a warning to our kid because of the wind and waves, but fortunately he didn't try to follow us.
Anyway, I'm going to try to suggest a different route, but if you end up next to a cemetery, don't walk through the plants to get to the lighthouse!

Canion Malacara is a must-visit tourist attraction located in the Serra Geral National Park. It offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in natural pools of crystal clear water. The trailhead is 5 km away from Praia Grande in Santa Catarina and just over 25 km from Terra dos Canions. To reach the pools, visitors need to cross the canyon fissure and navigate around rocks to access one of the biggest pools within the park.
If you have experience with simple trails you dont need to go with a guide. BUT. you need a good gps. I used the garmin 66sr NOT a phone gps. There is no signal. Its hard to find the trail sometimes, especially when crossing the river. Snake protection is recommended and dont touch anything. Go long sleeved, and with long pants, vegetation is dense. Families or non biologists, I strongly recommend a guide. especially if there is rain its dangerous quickly so you need to be able to ‚read‘ the sky and weatherforcast.

Estrada RS 115 Km 35, s/n, RS-115, 35 - Várzea Grande, Gramado - RS, 95670-000, Brazil
Brazilian animals are the exclusive focus of this zoo with displays reproducing natural habitats.
One of the best zoos I've ever been too. If you're planning on going to Gramado, visit this amazing place.
Mia Friedman — Google review
Nice zoo around the area that offers you something different than what is around Gramado/Canela for a good price compared to the rest. Most animals look happy, however, some others looked bored to be in a very small and limited area, like some monkeys, owls, felines. I’d love to see them in a bigger area. On the other side, birds looked happy and people are able to feed them paying 5.00 Reais extra at the end of the visit. The food court is nice, they have local food options like sugar cane juice and ice cream with flavors from the region. I’d visit it again and hope that they make some areas bigger for animals since they can’t go back to the wild. I enjoyed my visit.
Daniel Pérez — Google review
I visited this zoo 5 years ago and am very sad to see the poor maintenance and state this place has become now.
At least 50% of cages and areas have their animals missing.
Tried to reserve a vip visit 24 hours before visiting and had no online or telephone reply.
When arrived we were offered a wheelchair instead of a guided electrical cart, to find out that most areas are NOT wheel chair accessible.
Food offered at the premises like “natural fruit juices” are expensive and the only “natural” is that they are 80% water!!!
In resuming, a very poor customer service experience, not worth the entrance + parking fee. Very deteriorated no maintenance premises….seems to be running out of maintenance funds.
A frustrating day in what was supposed to be a nice experience for my 18 year old niece coming back from cancer.
Guillermo Huisman — Google review
Large jungle cats were in tiny enclosures despite the vacant lots throughout the zoo. There is plenty of room to expand the habitats. It was heartbreaking to watch the pumas pace back and forth, they’ve lost their minds.

Family friend place, truly Brazilian fauna...
Thiago — Google review
The animals are great and the zoo is well kept but the ticket is expensive costing 60 reais per adult. To make matters worse they charge 10 reais for visitors for parking and another 10 reais if you want To use a stroller. It is absurd that the zoo won't offer these items to customers being that the entry ticket is already high. They have a huge empty parking area! Not recommended!

Winter-themed park with an alpine-style village & an indoor, snow-covered hill for skiing & tubing.
We didn’t expect that we were able to Ski and Snowboard in Brazil.
We can enjoy it with artificial snow.
We can rend cloth, shoes and grove to do snow tube slider.
And if we pay additional fee, we can Ski and Snowboard. We can also rend Ski and Snowboard tool. On the weekend, there will be very crowded. So you need to buy entrance fee by interest in advance.
Papipupenta — Google review
Snowland can only be described as one of those tourist money grabbing places – as South Park would put it, you're basically paying for a winter's line ride simulator. For starters, the place is very unorganized, from the architecture, to the signaling, to the lack of staff. Oftentimes you don't even know if you're heading to the right direction and you can't even see most of the rides in advance – so you can decide if you will wait almost 1h in line to try the ice "motion" or the ice "slide"!?
Your tickets, by the way, will only give you access to the ice skating rink, this fast and boring ice slides and the possibility to buy extra (and expensive) things inside of the "park". You're pretty much spending money to be granted the possibility to spend more money inside.
Even the hot chocolate, which is a given for both the host and the visitors in such those parks are extremely poorly managed: basically, there's a single small shop that sells it inside of the "snow" area, with 2 people inside. The chocolate is considerably expensive and, as I think you can expect by now, machine made and nothing to write home about. But, hey, at least you can spend another 30+ minutes in yet another line to get it.
In summary, (and unfortunately,) Snowland means 4+ hours in line to get a bad hot chocolate and 16 minutes of mediocre fun. Don't be fooled: spend your time, money and energy elsewhere. Gramado is full of great attractions.
Eduardo Malheiros — Google review
It's okay but hasn't reached my expectations. They didn't have XXL winter's suits available, and the clothing was missing some buttons and zipper cursor was jammed! My pants fell off in public at the ice-motion queue. It was really embarrassing. Speaking of which, it was beyond crowded and they are not following the sanitary protocol. Foods, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs are extremely expensive. It was stressful at the end of the day. I'll think twice before going there again.
Fellipe Madeira — Google review
The park is really nice, especially for kids. However, when it's too crowded it's not well organized. We had to wait over an hour just to get dressed in at least three different queues. It can be confusing.
Jorge Lopez Sherman — Google review
Rather overrated. Yes it's a cool place to visit (pun intended), but it's still a fridge packed with people. You'll face long lines in the cold to go down ice sliders that aren't that much fun. The food at the restaurant is average and expensive.
Aleksander Lada — Google review
Awful experience during the school holidays. Heavily overbooked, super long queues, uttet chaos when having to find clothes, boots and gloves. Few staff members and management on site to help. And when we managed to get to the 'snow' after 2 hours, we went tubing once because the queues were so ridiculous. So then we thought we'd go ice skating, to find that the last time was 4.30pm. Utter waste of money and will never return.
Gemma Falconer — Google review
great place. lots of fun but my 6 year-old wasn't tall enough to even ice skate
Kevin Sutherland — Google review
Awful experience. Chaotic, overcrowded, overpriced, long hours in line, extra charges for needed equipment for which they don't have all sizes. I felt I was in a war zone. Free for all. Oh, there's more, they charge $30 for the safe. Don't recommend. You will pay R$ 600 to be in lines, mistreated, and disappointed.
Silvia Siqueira — Google review
I was happily impressed by this place! Staffs is well trained and is organized so clients could invest the time in the fun without jeopardizing the safety!

I was enchanted by the bergamot beer, it's very good, I bought the kit that came with a glass cup.
The service and guided tour were perfect.
And at the end of the guided tour you can taste Edelbrau beer.
I loved the part that tells the story of the cuckoo, which is inside a door.
There's the part about training your senses based on the ingredients in the beers, it's great.
It is a very interactive tour, there is a typewriter to leave messages and your impressions of the tour.
It is well worth visiting and trying the exceptional quality beers.

The Public Market of Porto Alegre is a great place to buy local produce and try out the different culinary delights the city has to offer. With 110 merchants selling art, crafts, snacks and more, there is sure to be something for everyone. The market gets busy at night so it's best to visit during daytime hours when it's less crowded.
Lovely old fashion building done in the format of many european markets with lots of well stocked stalls from the mundane to great delicatessen. Worth a visit plus make sure after this you walk towards the river where you can take catamara to Barra Shopping or to Guati for just over 10R or else an hour trip looking at all tourist sights with a different company for 30R cash or 35 if you pay with credit card. The Guaíba River is a large and powerful waterway in Southern Brazil. It flows from the Andes Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, making it one of the longest rivers in South America. Along its route, the river passes through several mountain ranges, including the Serra dos Carajás. The river has many tributaries and channels, making it a popular spot for rafting and kayaking.
