Points of Interest & Landmarks
Fuerte San Luis De Alba is a historical destination that offers a glimpse into our history. It is a serene and tranquil place with stunning natural surroundings. Although it could benefit from some upkeep, this is merely a minor concern. The museum can be easily reached via a well-maintained road, allowing for convenient access to its remarkable exhibits and impressive landscapes.
it is a historical place and a really quiet place with incredible landscapes .
it lacks a bit of maintenance but it is a detail.
It is paved route and quick access

(Translated by Google) A place to visit without expecting anything more than being a fragment of our history.
There is no type of service, it is clean of weeds, but you do not see any program for restoration or administration of the site.
Mobile coverage is poor. Obligatory step through San José, I think it is the only access.

(Translated by Google) It is true what is said, the place is very abandoned, it is a rich experience especially for lovers of history and even games, but the place lacks signage and basic safety measures (there are burned structures that can fall) .
Additionally, it has a beautiful descent to the river.

(Translated by Google) I give the stars for the historical value. But it does not deserve them.... It is a shame that having the resources (national monuments) it is not maintained or conserved. In resolutions from 2008 and 2009, it is observed that there is no concern to maintain the site. Today, after my visit, I am left with a somewhat sour feeling: it is very easy to get there, but there is poor road signage in relation to its location, it is only announced on the road from San José to Mehuin, and not towards the other direction. road . Furthermore, when you are already on the road to the fort, it is only announced when you are on top of the monument, but nowhere on the route, not even when you start it.
We noticed that there was a gastronomic meeting over the weekend (7 days ago) and there are still platforms, cables and plastic cups next to the Cruces River. Little concern for the organizer of the event (The Municipality of San José de Mariquina itself).

(Translated by Google) Beautiful place, now abandoned! You have to enter through the barbed wire... Go down and up the moat to enter the castle, through a rickety door. Inside the castle, there is nothing left... Two cannons without their gun carriages, brambles and garbage thrown everywhere. What will a container contain??? It has had better days, a shame about the lack of citizen interest in maintaining this place.

Precioso lugar, ahora abandonado! This high-end hotel features contemporary accommodations and luxurious suites, along with a casino offering various entertainment options. Guests can enjoy two pools, regular live performances, and a convenient location. The rooms are superb and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The hotel maintains cleanliness well and the staff is helpful and friendly. The only drawback observed was a slight odor in the corridors on the seventh floor, possibly due to aged carpets. Nonetheless, this newer establishment is beautifully decorated and maintained.

Anibal Pinto Plaza is a public square adorned with verdant lawns, towering palm trees, and pathways. It also boasts a prominent bronze sculpture. Despite the beauty of the park and its majestic trees, unfortunately, some locals have vandalized the statues and defaced certain areas. This disregard for the city is disheartening to witness. However, visitors can still enjoy the convenience of Wi-Fi connectivity in this pleasant location which provides an ideal setting to meet someone and capture beautiful photographs.

Dates: Sunday, Dec. 2017
Cost: $2.000CLP/pp for foreigners
Pros:
- Lots of trails to walk around with plenty of shade and quiet spots to sit and enjoy nature
- Beautiful lookout spots to take pictures of the surrounding city.
- You could definitely take a picnic and enjoy time out in nature here without being seen by others.
Cons:
- It's easy to get lost on a trail such that you have to trek back quite a bit of ways to get back to your car to check your phone often (you do have a signal)
- We thought the restaurant would be open so we did not take any food with us the day we went and for whatever reason it was not open nor were any hours posted.
Overall: We definitely plan to go back here and have a picnic and hike around the area, it's beautiful.

Long historic background we found in this symbolic hill, perfect for a day of trekking or cycling, the native forest is very well preserved, at the summit it counts with a little museum and picnic areas and the best overview of the flourishing city of Temuco. A must to visit.

This is gorgeous. You can feel the history, the machinery is well preserved (some trains are in bad shape, but others are in working condition), and the guided tour includes some nice and fun historical facts. The museum is free, and there's a special travel but it was suspended because the forest fires.
Pato Parra — Google review
It is one of the best museums in chile. Why? Because of the people there and the trains of course. The entrance was free. You can enter some wagons, also free. Super nice people there.
It's a beautiful old wooden house which I had all to myself! The owners are young, easy-going comfortable people. I felt very at ease and at home. The kitchen I had to myself too and it's equipped as back home and crispy clean, just like the whole house. There is central heating which makes it very comfortable. Shower is hot. Beds firm, with woolen blanket and down cover. They're very environmentally friendly and try to seperate all trash, which I liked.

Breakfast is very varied every morning, served in addition to fresh rolls (or optionally toast if you get up before the bakery next door opens, for example to visit one of the beautiful nearby national parks as early as possible) and butter, cheese and ham , jam or nut butter, as well as hot water for tea or coffee and cold or hot milk. The lovely couple who run this hostel are very accommodating and friendly, as well as helpful with questions about the surrounding activities, but also about the cute little town in which this hostel is located.
We stayed there for three nights, had a very nice and pleasant time and would love to come back again.

It is incredible that this space is depressed and does not have more conservation organizations. It is a beautiful space that has beautiful trees and nature around it, which if not protected, respecting the work of generations and its owners, could be lost in the future. It brings together interesting pieces of archeology, making it very interesting to study the ways of life of the first indigenous settlements in the area, its artifacts, crafts and clothing perfectly show what the life of its locals was like.
As a personal opinion, I believe that the carelessness that is observed is not the responsibility of its owners or the few people who work, here the carelessness of its people and authorities who clearly do not highlight the value of such a noble museum, which generates ignorance and lack of access to this important niche of culture and knowledge.

The eating place is good, comfortable, we ordered quesadillas that were delicious and at a reduced price. Several items on the menu were not available. I asked for a prepared drink that was very bad, I returned it and asked that they bring me one that does not fail, combined. I had to pay for the bad drink!!! it wasn't cheap. Good attention.

Nice waterfall in southern Chile. We went in fall and there was a considerable amount of water still flowing. My guess is that summer would be the best time to see them as there would be lots more water. You can walk right up to the falls if you want but you have to be very careful as the rocks are slippery. There are local vendors all along the climb up to the falls where you can get some nice souvenirs and try local food.

In it we can find photographs of important people from Villa Alegre, a collection of coins and many old machines. But the most notable thing without a doubt are the rooms dedicated to the Jesuit Abate Molina and Felipe Camiroaga. Admission is free, but you can make a donation if you wish, and you must register before entering.

The visit to the Botanical Garden University of Talca was a delightful experience. The garden boasts a rich variety of indigenous flora, creating a beautiful landscape. Its well-designed arrangement includes multiple ponds that attract various bird species as well as sheep and other fascinating wildlife. The open area provides ample space for recreation and is particularly suitable for families, offering an enjoyable and family-friendly environment. With its focus on preserving nature's beauty, this botanical garden is truly magnificent.
What a great garden to explore the different flora of the world! My favourite part was all the cacti and succulents….and the waterlilies…and the animals!🤩

For a medium-small city like Curicó, it is pretty decent. It has a lot of different stores. Most of the main stores you'll need like supermarkets and drug stores. There are plenty options on the food court. It also has a cinema and a fairly sized parking lot.

We were seated inside the wine room, our host explained the 4 wines we tasted really well. The visit cost us 64,000 pesos for two, a little expensive compared to the others but the big downside: they sell us wines twice as expensive as at the SAQ??? Overall, I recommend since the experience is unique.
