If you are a foreigner and try to buy a ticket at the ticket office you will waste your time.
3 of us (NZer, Canadian and Chilean) tried to buy tickets (no CPF, no Brazilian bank card) and after mucking around for over 45 minutes, being sent to another ticket office, installing apps, verifying emails, doing facial recognition and handing over money, IDs and phones we were told it was impossible and they refused us entry. At no point did we argue or complain. We even had a local help us out who was waiting in the queue and watched us suffer but to no avail. The club should do something to make it easier for tourists to attend games. Seems crazy to make the game inaccessible to visitors to this beautiful country.

The Soccer Museum of Brazil is a museum dedicated to the history of football in Brazil, with exhibits on the sport's political and cultural importance in the country. The museum has a large collection of football memorabilia, as well as an interactive section that explores how football has impacted Brazilian culture.
Want to stay here 6 hours, perfect you can !
Tuesdays are free entrance , otherwise it’s 20 réais so pretty affordable.
So much history and things to see.
We strongly recommend.
And if you want a unique piece of Brazilian Selecão clothing, they have the right store at the very end !!

A museum full of history in every aspect, not only about football itself but also how global events and the passing of the years in Brazil shaped and influenced the course of this amazing sport, but also how itself changed a nation and the world too! Diverse rooms full of pictures, videos, memorabilia, recordings of radio transmissions of old matches, and interactive games make this museum a MUST SEE in São Paulo! And to top it off: a café/bar to drink a coffee or a cold beer after the intense walking and admiration of the museum! I highly recommend it!

A good place to spend awhile looking around and learning about the history of football in Brazil. Many different exhibits chronicling the history of football in this nation. My only complaint would be a lack of English information sometimes, and so I had to skip some parts of the museum as I didn't really understand what they wanted to explain.

The Football Museum in São Paulo is a captivating experience for lovers of Brazil's most popular sport. With its location inside the iconic Pacaembu Stadium, the museum offers an immersion in the history of national football.
Positives: The well-organized exhibition provides a rich chronological journey, from the beginnings to the historic moments of the World Cups. Audio-visual aids, including videos and moving narrations, make the visit engaging. In addition, interactive interactions such as virtual goal kicks and 3D football games captivate visitors, especially children and teenagers.
Negative points: On days of great flow, the museum can be crowded, which can diminish the experience, making it difficult to appreciate some exhibits. On the day of my visit, there were several pieces of equipment without proper maintenance or out of service, a pity. In reality, I believe that it is already necessary to reform, update (there are many clubs that are not even mentioned throughout the exhibition) and general improvement of the environment.
Overall, the Football Museum is a must-see destination for anyone wanting to experience the rich history and culture of Brazilian football, but it is recommended to plan your visit on less busy days to fully enjoy the experience.

I was dragged along by a football fan but it was an okay place.to visit even if you're not a huge football fan (me). Nice displays and history of Brazilian football and football in general. Usually 5 reals entrance but the day we went was free. Highly recommend if you are a football fan.

I am from the US, and I'm not a soccer (futbol) fan. When visiting Brazil, it's hard not to appreciate soccer and what it means to Brazilians. This great museum showcases that perfectly. It was a great rate R$20 and had many wonderful photos, memorabilia, videos, interactive exhibits. It's located at an old soccer stadium, so an added bonus is seeing the remains of the stadium. A must see even if you're like me and not a soccer fan.

Worth visiting. Free entrance on tuesdays but needs online reservation days ahead to get a ticket. Your QR code will be scanned at the entrance. Nice museum. Very interactive, the exhibits are very modern and very creative, very enticing. Even not a football fan will enjoy this museum. I envy we dont have this kind of museum. One of the modern museums around Paulista area. The art deco stadium itself is worth a visit. During my last visit they are overhauling the bleachers, an upgrade or restoration maybe , not so sure. A must see in Paulista area..

I like visiting a new stadium, would have preferred to be able to see the stadium as part of the visit to the museum. The exposition is really cool and interesting, lots of interactive things to do. Only thing I would suggest is to add English descriptions as for me, no portuguese speaker, think I missed a lot of the content. Yet, it was free to enter on Sunday

If you're looking for something cultural to see this place is on point. What better place to visit than a futball (soccer) museum when in Brazil. This place has a good history of futball in Brazil and around the world and some amazing displays. It is well set out and you can walk from section to the next easily learning and discovering one thing after the other about the beautiful game in Sao Paulo. My personal favorites where their displays of the balls used throughout history. The evolution of the futball boot or cleat throughout the years and their display for each world cup showing the culture and history. I would recommend to check this place out if you are in town.

5 stars for free! Tuesday for free! Cool you're actually right under the stadium seats, gives off an urban backstreet vibe. Futbol lovers can spend hours here I imagine, this is a nice 45 minute stop for me. Kkk.

Avoid until Nov. 2024. The place was recommended to me by the locals. I checked the website and knew the main exhibition is closed for renovation. But it said come and visit temp exhibition which is literally one tiny room full of toys 🧸
Michal Wisniewski — Google review
Currently under construction until April 2024, do not go right now. They mention that while under construction, there's still a temporary exhibit, but it's very lackluster. It's just some kids football toys behind some glass so there's really nothing you can do, at best it's 10 minutes if you're really interested in that kind of stuff.
Otherwise don't take the effort to go out of your way here right now. I wish they would just close it off entirely during construction rather than advertise it's temporarily open. While I was there, several other tourists came by misled by the quality of a temporary exhibit, lost walking around desperately looking for something entertaining to do, before ultimately catching an Uber out 30 minutes later.
Also the "super" store is also a joke, smaller than most sporting goods store in the city and doesn't offer very much.

One, if not the most famous part in São Paulo. You simply can't miss Avenida Paulista when visiting São Paulo.
The street has a lot of shopping malls (3), many restaurants, a famous museum, MASP, and on Sundays it's closed (between 10-17) and there are many events, streets artists. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I visited Avenida Paulista on Feb 2021, right on the day the State of Sao Paulo announced another lockdown. I thought there will be no people out on the streets but I was so wrong. People can still roam around freely. I'm so glad I decided to travel to Brazil beginning of Feb 2021. I had fun seeing the city and the people. With the help of the subway (plus the subway fare is so cheap), visiting point A to point B isn't that complicated. I had fun! I take all photos myself, even my selfie! Check out my IG- @jl.dormido

Large collection of (mostly all) paintings covering many periods on main floor really nice with the glass easels. Some obscure works by Picasso and DaVinci. A few famous works I recognized. The day I went the other exhibits (really just one), was a big bust. So a bit disappointed considering the high ticket cost.

Incredibly ethereal use of space for art exhibitions. Despite only being two floors, MASP organizers know how to organize the floors to make it look more inviting to guests. I loved the exhibition on Indigenous Histories and the variety of representation among the pieces up for viewing. Admission on certain days is free so make sure to review the website before you book.

I loved this museum! Even though the collection is not very vast, the pieces displayed are of immense value. Perhaps the most innovative element of the exhibit is the open floor plan, with works arranged in chronological order and information sheets on the back. It really makes you feel more deeply connected with the works.
Iván Montejo-Martínez — Google review
This is a worldwide famous museum not just for its collection but for its architecture and historical relevance , and it’s totally worthy of it all. The architecture captures the eyes because it’s the biggest concret box suspended in the world with an enormous empty space beneath it , with a back space that it’s part of its art and gives you an amazing view of the 9 de julho avenue, just in the heart of São Paulo . The entrance is at Avenida Paulista other main attraction of the city. The ticket box is pretty organized, there was no lines. The museum counts on its fixed collection with artists that goes from classic to contemporary arts, both international and Brazilian artists, like Portinari. Some word wide famous pieces can be found there. But in the other floors they have the temporary exhibition, like the one focuses on the native people not only of Brazil but going far as New Zealand. It’s a fun and quick museum to visit , not tiring and boring at all.

If you’re looking for the new type of history this is the place to start!! They have a non-colonized view of the arts and it’s really interesting to know. Also, most of the pieces in there are very famous, from Degas to Van Gogh. Aside from that, all temporary exhibits are made to sensitize the public. Overall, such an incredible curation of this museum! Really impressive.

Beautiful exhibits and one of the most interesting presentations of a gallery I have seen. The art is mounted on glass so you can see the back of the canvas. You also have to walk around the work to read about the artist and the paintings origin which was very interesting and made you do a few loops. Great innovative art space.

Nice museum, not very big. There are some really great paintings by Renoir, Raphael, Picasso, Bellini - but weirdly the board with the explanation was always at the back of the painting, that was very uncomfortable. On other floors there are some nice photographs and some other nonsense of what people now call "art".

The Sao Paulo Cathedral is a large, neo-gothic building located in the heart of the city. It features a Renaissance-style dome and was completed in 1967. The cathedral is distinctive for its green roof and its two towering towers.

This cathedral is so beautiful. Weather your religious or not this is an amazing work of art. The tapestry’s, mosaics, stained glass, columns and the pulpit are just amazing. It cost nothing to enter and take pictures just be respectful of the people there that might be going through some things.

Beautiful and unique cathedral, one of the tallest I have seen, an incredible creation in the heart of Sao Paulo.
We visited around 6pm, and as can be seen from other reviews, there are a lot of homeless people in the square around the cathedral which may intimidate some tourists, we didn't experience any issues and we noted that there were many fellow tourists visiting and taking pictures outside. There was a strong police presence to help to keep people safe.

Incredible place to be at! Amazing architecture! Only draw back was outside... tons of homeless everywhere. On the steps, in the park, tents scattered everywhere you look. It's a shame the city couldn't keep up the outside area better, but once you are in, it's pretty amazing!

I came here specifically to see the crypt.
It was cool, and I had an amazing guide show us around.
It was a small group which was nice and it meant there was room for everyone and plenty of time to ask questions.
I was encouraged to take photos by our guide. She was so friendly and made my visit more enjoyable.
There were many homeless people sitting outside on the steps, and there was a police van parked to the side of the entrance.
The cathedral is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful.

It's a nice big cathedral, particularly for Brazilian standards. The stained glass windows are pretty and the bizantine murals inside are a bit unusual for such a new church. It's worth a quick stroll by if you are in the area.

Had an amazing experience touring the Cathedral. Took the Tour - Completo (both the church and the cript) for R$60. Tickets can be purchased directly at the store / loja and administative office inside.
Lucia was genuinely helpful and eager to help explaining the history behind the church.
Location is pretty walkable, and just like many other massive metro areas in the world, will need to procreed with slightly higher caution. The police and militaty presence does help adding a little safety net.
Overall, if given the opportunity, do visit the church.

I came to the Sunday mass for the chanting but it was less chanting and more traditional mass singing. Maybe they have the chants at a different time. We came early to sit in front and people were standing all around the sides by the start of service.
We also picked up some cookies and a bread cake from the bakery.

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo is an art museum located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It is one of the most important museums in Brazil, and its collection skews heavily towards the Brazilian Modernists. The museum has an 11,000-works-strong collection, and its building was designed by Pritzker Architecture prize-winner Paulo Mendes da Rocha.
I loved this museum. I have been to many museusm around the world, but I found the experience here to be extremely unique. Each room you enter had a placard that not only explained the exhibit, but asked thought provoking questions, that made you really view the exhibit with an open mind. This was definitely a very unique experience. And the building itself was also a work of art to be enjoyed. Make sure you give yourself at least 3 hours here to really walk through all the museum has to offer.

One of the most beautiful museums I've been to. They have a great selection of pieces, with differing mediums, the space is clean and comfortable. The main entry goes thru a sunroom with super high glass ceilings, currently showing pieces done with wood, so you can smell the sap being warned by the sun.
The staff was friendly and kind, very helpful and attentive. Bathrooms were clean.
The pieces being showcased are very well selected, I think. And the infrastructure is beautiful.

This is truly one of the best museums in the world. Pinacoteca is one of those places that you would need days to truly understand and decompress.
With a great collection of Brazilian Modernist Era, the museum’s architecture details its a must all by itself.
Besides it’s great collection the museum also have temporary exhibitions with great artists, so it be good to check it before attending.
The tickets to temporary exhibitions and weekends tends to sold out very quickly, and there is one day of the week when you can get in for free.
If you’re going by public transportation be careful to the surroundings, the neighborhood it’s not dangerous but don’t be distracted with your belongings.
Also take some time to walk in the garden with lots of sculptures by different artists is a very enjoyable experience by itself.
If you wanna take some pictures I suggest the afternoon lighting that entes that glass ceiling, it’s just idyllic.

Very interesting place, pretty cheap parking and you can enter Pinacoteca galleries for free. Garden is very nice as well, I’m hot days you will appreciate shade made by trees.

Very well organised museum. Great place to get familiar with Brazilian modern art. Allocate at least three hours to properly review the collection. Highly recommended.

This museum is one of the oldest in São Paulo. The art collection is huge, each room is overflowing with different pieces. In a way it is actually quite overwhelming and intense, it’s difficult to digest the sheer amount. There is no flowing journey or consistency. There is deep contrast not just room to room, but often throughout a room. You would need to spend an entire day here to truly begin to appreciate and digest what’s on display. It’s quite remarkable at the same time. I recommend a visit.

The Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo is one of the most prominent art museums in Sao Paulo, located next to Estação da Luz, which is connected to the Metro Yellow Line. Entry is totally free on Saturdays (and on Thursday nights, 6pm to 10 pm)
The Pinacoteca's was designed by Ramos de Azevedo, building is a beautiful example of Brazilian architecture from the early 20th century. In 1998, it went through a masterful renovation process, designed by the Pritzer Prize laureate, architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The museum's interior gallery spaces are well thought out and provides an excellent backdrop for the art on display. The galleries are spacious. The natural light of the atriums, connected by steel bridges is the perfect symbiosis between the classic building and contemporary architecture.
The museum's café in the underground floor connects with Praça da Luz, providing an exuberant view of the park and a relaxing atmosphere, a pleasant and calm space that could make you forget you're in the fourth most populated city on earth (and one of the most dangerous areas of Sao Paulo).
The museum's collection is vast, covering a range of styles and periods, with an emphasis on Brazilian art from the 19th century to the present day. The Pinacoteca is especially known for its collection of modernist art, featuring works by well-known Brazilian artists such as Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti, and Lasar Segall. Additionally, the museum has an extensive collection of photographs, engravings, and drawings, providing visitors with a comprehensive view of Brazilian art history.
Overall, the Pinacoteca do Estado de Sao Paulo is a world-class, must-visit for anyone interested in Brazilian art and culture. The museum's impressive collection, beautiful architecture, and commitment to education make it one of the most important cultural institutions one could ask for.

Must see museum in São Paulo. Beautiful building with nice sights to Estação da Luz.
Exhibitions are very well organized and inviting.
The only downside is that the museum surroundings tend to be not so safe when police is not around. But if you are an average Brazilian you will be able to handle it just fine.
Matheus Boschetti — Google review
Even since before I planned my trip to Brazil I knew I wanted to visit the Pinacoteca at one point in my life. The building is reminiscent of a classical temple, and has a massive collection of works in all plastic arts. I loved the educational focus of the exhibits, the fact that they are arranged by topic and not by region or century, and all the accessibility infrastructure all around. Truly one of the best museums I have been to in Brazil.

The Mercado Municipal de São Paulo is a historical building with stands selling rare fruit, vegetables, and dairy produce, as well as a food court. The market's specialty is mortadella sandwiches; for the definitive version, try the crowded upstairs Hocca Bar. Ki Peixe also serves big flat oysters shucked to order while you wait for your fish to be cleaned.
A very large and beautiful market with lots to see. If you're visiting, there are lots of unique local items to purchase here. I loved seeing all the hand made items that were being made there. There are great restaurants on the second floor as well. The mortadella sandwiches are an absolute must try! They are heavy but extremely delicious.
Pedram Esm — Google review
Loved how beautiful the food looks, the building has great features too. Too bad you get the feeling you have to excuse yourself if you don't want to try the products from every other stand. I can imagine some people like to sample everything, but I don't feel comfortable. The famous sandwich is great, but a bit too much meat, but hey that's the typical Brazilian style!

The Catavento Museum is a science museum with interactive exhibits for kids and adults alike. It's located in the old Palace of Industry, and features objects and experiments that touch on natural history, physics, biology, and chemistry. Highly interactive displays make it fun for kids and adults alike. This great place is an easy walk from the Municipal Market, making it perfect for a day out!

The museum is very nice! Ut has lots of attractions and my 7 year old daughter lived it. We arrived there in the middle of the afternoon and had only 2 hours inside. It was not enough, we are going to go back another time so we can spend more time inside.
The only problem was that it was full of visitors and some (of course not the museums fault) of the visitors were rude, didn’t respect the lines, or also the attractions, and because of bad use they were broken.
We knowthat this is not the museums fault.
Hoping to go back soon and hopefully it won’t be too crowded!
The building is very beautiful!

Museum itself seemed amazing. We had a terrible experience as everything was in Portuguese and worse part is the staff dont speak a word of English. My kids missed out as there werent any translators or tour guides to walk you through the experience in english. So in conclusion this was a total rip off to anyone not speaking or reading in Portuguese as u wont understand a thing. They should warn u in advance and not sell u a ticket....but they still took my money. Not cool guys not cool.

Pretos Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction, boasting a height of over 500 feet and offering a picturesque swimming area. It's an ideal destination for a day trip with family and friends. While getting there by car is convenient, transportation from Joanopolis downtown may be challenging as ride-hailing services are limited. The only doubt may be the entrance to the peak of the plateau that is further to the right. Then there is not much error. Generally, the trail is more to the left and on the right there are always exits for a view, but just go back to the trail and continue to the peak.
The total is about 45-60min walking normally without a stop. We think we heard a feline (jaguar?) on the way but we didn't see it..
Round stone guides say the trail is closed! Hey lie! It's open and it's much more worth it than the round stone that's full of people/beginners!

A light trail, but with several paths that can lead to mistakes, the signage was almost non-existent starting from the plateau towards Selado, I recommend a GPS or studying the path a little beforehand, but I believe it is difficult to get lost there for a long time.
Presence of about 3 horses, better to avoid them on the way they may not be friendly.

I recommend taking water, there is no water source on the way.

The highest point in the entire region, Pico do Selado rises to an altitude of 2.Ø82 meters.
Little frequented because it is further away, it requires more time and physical conditions to reach, but the effort is compensated by an unparalleled panoramic view of the entire mountain range, with the clouds below.
During the climb, several times you will have the impression that there is no longer a trail, because as few people visit the place, the bush grows.
Moderate degree of difficulty.
Considered the most beautiful trail in Monte Verde, it runs along the crest of the mountain, alternating sections through the forest and over the rocks, on the edge of cliffs that offer us several viewpoints with incredible views!
On the way we passed the Plateau (1,945m), a place with a privileged view of the region.
When you arrive there will be a book, jump through the gap and sign it!
Use sunscreen and insect repellent and bring your trash away.

Missas aos sábados somente Junho e Julho.... absurdo.....

Trilha da Pedra Redonda is a relatively easy hiking trail that starts at the end of Av. das Montanhas or can be reached from the Plato trail. It takes about an hour to complete and offers a tranquil experience through lush greenery. The trail leads to a 1990m rounded peak, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, bring water, and apply sunscreen due to windy conditions on the rocks and intense sun exposure.

Unger’s Pottery House is a spacious 3,000 square meter gallery showcasing the ceramic art of Paula Unger and other contemporary Brazilian artists. The indoor and outdoor spaces are adorned with a variety of artistic pieces, making for a delightful exploration. The serene garden area adds to the allure of this place, offering a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush greenery and colorful blooms.

The day we've been there, there was some good sales. We bought a pot set made by ceramic and signed by Miss Unger. It worths to keep liquids like soups warm for a while. The place is pretty much cozy: loads of trees and small flowered bushes . When we got there we spent a lot of time looking around the pleasant garden site seen. I've found at least one problem in there. There's no cafeteria or a place to have some snack and rest the bones.
Entrance is free and the local guide is very friendly. We do recommend.

(Translated by Google) Pico da Pedra Partida is the second highest in the Monte Verde region and has a beautiful view of much of the Paraíba Valley.
The access trail has indicative signs and red ribbons on some trees along the way, especially in places that may raise questions.
It took us 1 hour to climb the approximately 900m to the top. And on the way back we only spent 40 minutes.
At the top there is a sign indicating the altitude and name, great for photos.
The downside is restricted access by MOVE, which charges R$35.90/person. This amount could very well be used for a "single pass" with access to the 5 peaks in the region. This would both attract more tourists and capture the resources necessary for improvements and conservation of the site.

It's a beautiful house in a wonderful farm with it's own waterfall and many animals. On the weekends food is served by the owner, an absolutely lovely lady. It's worth the visit.

Nice place to chill. If you know the stories and characters you can learn where it all began. Have the food there. Really tasty.

(Translated by Google) I loved the experience.
The exquisite details of the mosaics make it a work of art. And what is beautiful touches the soul.

Amei a experiência.

(Translated by Google) A charming little chapel in the city center, difficult to find because it is very small and hidden in the back corner of Rua Treze de Maio. It is entirely made of broken tiles, stones and glass. If it enchants on the outside, it makes you gasp when you enter, such is the admiration for the work. It seems that in 2008, when the exterior was renovated by artist Ângelo Milani, he and his wife, Cláudia Villar, decorated the exterior and interior of the chapel with mosaics composed of abstract shapes. The chapel is open for visits on weekends and holidays from 8 am to 6 pm.

(Translated by Google) And one of the attractions of São Bento do Sapucaí, covered in pieces of tile, was beautiful, all colorful, and, inside, covered with images of saints that were delivered to local churches... so as not to be discarded, the artist used them to do your work. There are 2, the photos are from the 2nd.

(Translated by Google) I fell madly in love with Capelinha do Mosaico as soon as I saw it! On the road we saw a smaller replica, but we didn't stop to see it... In the city center is this wonderful work of art! Next to the door, on the inside, both on the right and left side, beautiful sayings related to the chapel are fixed to the wall. There are countless details inside to be appreciated, it is truly a work of art!

(Translated by Google) Beautiful chapels made up of ceramic fragments, lots of colors, lots of life. It's worth visiting them all and, if possible, chatting with the local people, listening to their stories and hopefully listening to their guitars and songs.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful place and easy to access. We only missed a sign leaving the main church, because when we thought we were going in the wrong direction we saw a handwritten sign hanging from a post, talking about the Mirante!
We went by car, the climb is very steep and I suggest going by car. Cycling or walking is very tiring and I don't even know if it works!
It's worth the view!

Vale a pena a vista!

(Translated by Google) Giving 3 stars because the day I went, 03/31/2024, it was completely deserted and seemed abandoned, I was even afraid of staying there and some maniac would show up. The city hall should install a guardhouse with security or some other strategy that provides security to tourists. But the view is beautiful, and even though it looks abandoned, the place is beautiful.
