I found this service very convenient and flexible. It was great that one could easily speak to a person if required and that the pick up time was flexible despite booking a specific journey time. My driver dropped me off at a convenient location near my place at my request. I liked that they were flexible on this point too. I wasn't locked into a fixed drop off point that might have meant walking much further home. I will definitely be using Starbus Shuttle next time I fly!

No Response after emailing them several times. Requested a refund due to COVID but no reply. It wasn't until I went on their website to find out they have suspended their service. A courtesy email would have been helpful.

Extremely disappointed - should be no stars but unless I at least give one star, I can't post.
Had to cancel a trip to Melbourne from Adelaide on 08/12/2022 and went through the cancellation process noting they stated I would hear from them in circa 7 business days.
Here we are 2 months down the track, yes Covid has impacted their business for which I sympathize them but, no response to any follow up emails.
Surely they are monitoring their website and emails - after all they have suspended business.
All I would like is a response advising when they will be able to address my cancellation refund request.

I received a cancellation after payment was made when I was already on my way to the informed pick up location.
Please refrain from trying to use this service unless you have time to book it at least 24 hours in advance.
I don't think I would be your only customer to try and book a shuttle on the same day of my flight. It would be great if you could invest in a system which stops customers from making same day reservations if this is how you prefer to operate. There are many systems offering this solution these days which saves a lot of headache for both parties. I'm extremely disappointed with the experience I had today and the agent even made fun of my comment regarding the review I was looking to post. I really hope Starbus takes this seriously and invest in a better solution for people travelling to Melbourne.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.
I have been using this company for the past 6 years and I did not have any issues at all.. Until I made a booking and I was told they would arrive between 12:45 pm-1:05 pm. I met the driver at 12:45 pm and asked politely if he can wait for me while I take my luggage out. I was out at 12:50 pm, and I could not find the bus anymore. They left me and charged me $27. I called up to ask if they can reverse the charge as the driver clearly told me that he would wait for me. Anyway, they hanged up on me and still charged me $27.
What a great way to boost your profit and operate your business. All the people I know will not be using this company too anymore. Too rude and no manners.

Our flight landed in Melbourne early and with a short walk to the pickup point was fantastic. A Starbus Shuttle was on hand already with a space for 4 people but we had 5 so the driver rang the office for another bus which arrived 5 minutes later. The service we received on pickup was excellent and recommend Starbus Shuttle

After reading the not so great reviews on this page i was rather skeptical about using this service on recent trip to Melbourne. I am so glad we did...we were picked up about 15 minutes after calling when we arrived. Then on return trip the driver was waiting for us at our hotel right on time. I would recommend this service and will be defiantly using again. Thanks Starbus.

They provide door to door service. Their punctual, economical, the drivers are always helpful with your luggage. Our driver today provided us some great ideas for places to visit while here in Melbourne. Not only is that driver great for Starbus his great for Melbourne tourism and visitors. We highly recommend them.

I have used Starbus shuttle services three times this past year. The services offered by Starbus and the performance of its staff are excellent. Staff perform their job with full dedication. They handle the luggage with care to ensure it is not damaged.
Their website to book their services is easy to use and understand.

Couldn't rate this service low enough- poor drivers, always late, unprepared, predatory pricing, vehicles probably unroadworthy.
Just don't.
I booked with Con-X-ion but got sub contracted out to these hopeless excuses.
They advertise departures "average" of every 15 minutes - I waited 30 minutes before a bus came and dropped off but would not pick up anyone and left. Waited another 20 minutes before a bus came willing to take us but had no pre booking information despite all three groups booking in advance
All in a rubbish vehicle nothing like what is advertised - looked like they pulled it off the street in a shanty town.
Trip back I booked an extra hour early to be safe and was still nearly missed my flight. Worse bus and overloaded. Driver was friendly but he was obviously booked to capacity from all over Melbourne so too many stops meant more delays, 45 minutes late for pick up and still 3 more stops before we could head to the airport. Woeful
Wife unfortunately was already booked a month or two after me and had an almost identical experience.
Avoid at all costs
The Flinders Street Railway Station is a popular Melbourne tourist attraction that was opened in 1909. The station has an iconic yellow facade and is located close to the city centre. The station is home to a number of shops and restaurants, as well as being a stop on the public transport network.
Nice and clean place.
Stand beneath the clocks of Melbourne's iconic railway station, as tourists and Melburnians have done for generations. Take a train for outer-Melbourne explorations, join a tour to learn more about the history of the grand building, or go underneath the station to see the changing exhibitions that line Campbell Arcade.

One of Melbourne’s iconic must-sees. Flinders street is a clean station with lots of help and food options. The ballrooms above are beautiful (but not accessible unless for an exhibition or something). Across the road are many options for food and cafe’s. Recently saw the Rone exhibition in the ballrooms and they were amazing!! Definitely recommend.

Emblematic Train station in Melbourne.
Photos here are a must.
The architecture is quite beautiful, although inside it is pretty much a train station.
A must stop to see point in the city.

Huge station with friendly staff and a lot of shops. I visited this station on Australia Day. There was a big crowd in front of the station but the police and security staff kept everything in order. This is historically building. It worths to visit even if you don’t use train. There is beautiful cathedral in front of the station. Good place to visit too.

Flinders Street the center door and beggining of all commuting train runs to outside.Flinders street never gets old always young and healthy, there's always room to move and plenty to do when you step outside, attractive scenery, food, shopping, excise, entertainment and more

The Flinders Street Station is one of Melbourne's most iconic landmarks. Tourists and Melburnians alike have stood beneath the clocks of Melbourne's iconic central railway station for generations.
The station is located in the center of Melbourne, next to the Yarra River. The station was last renovated a few years ago.
From here, you can reach most places in Melbourne by public transportation. There are trains running throughout Melbourne. Just outside the station there are also multiple trams that pass by regularly. There are toilet facilities at the station as well.
St Paul's Cathedral provides a good view of the station.
Arun Chandran — Google review
The architecture of the building viewed from the outside is a reminder of its history and how long it has stood.
Station itself is convenient, clean toilets, escalators to go up and down platforms, signage for train times and itineraries in multiple places. Staff posted around the station are friendly

It is the final and first station in the Melbourne city loop train network. It is well organised, clean, with plenty of amenities and services. Quick walk to anywhere in Melbourne CBD and tram station nearby.

Not for a train journey, but purely to admire its iconic architecture. The grandeur of the building and the intricate details stand as a testament to the city’s rich history and architectural prowess. A must-visit for anyone with an eye for design and architecture!

Located in the center of Melbourne, next to Yarra River. The station can be very hectic most of the time. There were lots of food stalls available. The toilets needs better cleaning.

It famously became the very first steam rail station in all of Australia. Currently, Flinders Street railway station is located on the corner of Flinders and Swanston streets in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Opened in 1854, the historic station serves the entire electrified metropolitan rail network, as well as some country services to eastern Victoria. The station has 13 platforms and is approximately 1.25 kilometers from Southern cross station.
Joydip Sinha — Google review
One of iconic, big and busy station in melbourne city. love the building exterior.
Fakih Arief Noto — Google review
I do not really understand people giving this train station such a high reviews. From my perspective, it is a filthy, run-down train station (please see the pictures attached; my apology for the picture of a toilet, I intentionally did not took picture of the whole toilet showing how disgusting it was). Yes, the historical building is nice, however, maintenance and cleanliness is absolutely shocking.
Considering this is one of the busiest and the most famous train station in Melbourne, it is really a shame. The train station has been in renovation for at least 5 years, but I cannot see anything being done. Try to compare it to main train station in other cities, e.g. Singapore, Dubai, Tokyo, etc. It would like comparing Day and Night.

Flinder Street Station is truly the heartbeat of the city Melbourne, and I've got to say, the front architecture is a striking marvel. It adds a unique touch to the overall experience, making every visit memorable. The station's central location and impressive design make it a standout landmark, contributing to Melbourne's charm.

We visited this iconic landmark in Melbourne. The architecture is classic and a nice place for photos. However, inside the station is all business and we could not get in without a train ticket. There are some food stalls and cafes just along the side of the train station.

Old and famous Iconic landmark in city centre with classic architecture. It’s worth to visit and take photos there.
Lovely set-up. The tiny trains are so cute!
It's only $4 per ride per person (children under 2 are free) and goes for about 2kms. All the staff is very friendly and smiley, they always wave when a train comes past which all the attending kids seemed to love. Although there is mostly children with their parents riding the train, it is certainly for all ages. Us in our mid 20s enjoyed the ride just as much!
There's a toilet block, a play ground and some kind of sports fields (that people used as a dogpark) right next to the railways. There's also a Coffee Van called The Travelling Cafe and and a food van for all your snack needs available on site.

Awesome experience, good fun for every age. Visit o Sunday It was a long queue on tickets station. The train ride price $4 each , I think it's quite reasonable for families, also There is childrens playing area with BBQ.

Great place for family. Both kids and adults enjoyed the train ride which runs for about 10mins. The place is well maintained by volunteers and the tickets are priced very reasonable (4$ currently)

One of Melbourne's hidden gems. A great day with the family and a unique experience without having to travel far.
List of attractions:
- Mini Railway for all ages, tickets can be purchased on location, $4 per person, train ride is around 10 minutes.
- Large playground with undercover picnic tables
- Barbecue areas
- Large oval for picnics or sports with cricket area
- Pony Rides for children, $6 per person for a short ride
Food available:
- Sausage sizzle, $2.50 with onions, cans of drinks
- Ice cream van with hot chips, chips are a bit pricey imo at $5 for a small cup
- Coffee van with chilled coffee
Great fun overall with plenty to do within the area as well.

We've been coming here since we were children and it was so fabulous to bring our toddler here for the first time. She loved it! It is such good value, the tickets are so cheap and you get a decent 15-20 minutes on the train. The queues can be quite long, but thankfully they have a playground right next to the station and food trucks. So it is easy to pass the time with the kids (while Dad waits in the line haha). Would highly recommend.

Visited on a beautiful sunny day in May. Hubby was interested in volunteering so wanted to check it out. Only open on Sundays, it appears to be a hugely popular attraction with a continuous queue. Hubby was very impressed with the set-up. Larger than expected with two stations and multiple engines running at the same time. Very impressive

One of a kind experience to be on that
Train with family. Because the place is managed by volunteers tickets price is shockingly cheap (only $4) . Ride lasts for about 25 minutes and that gives you ample time to take videos and photos while on the train. Definitely an experience to remeber for all age groups and amazing short drive time from Melbourne CBD. It takes less than 35 minutes to be there. PLace is open on Wednesdays and Sundays. Railway track is surrounded by a massive park with multiple rides( free of charge) and Grills, ample huts and seating. One of the best picknicks we had soon after the train ride on Easter Sunday. If you want to experience Yarra Riverto take a dip and some trekking, Laughing waters Swim hole is just 7 minutes away from Diamond Valley train station. Definitely a must visit again with kids before school break is over.

Who does not love a ride on a miniature train? You get a really long and exciting ride for your ticket price. We got one of the miniature stream trains this time and it was awesome.

We absolutely love Diamond Valley Railway. So much so that we have been twice and will be back again. It's a fantastic day out especially if you have little kids and it's great if you're on a budget as tickets are only $4 each and under 2 is free so for me and my 3 kids it only costs $12 for a train ride. Rides go for approx 10 mins each and go through tunnels and over little bridges it's so much fun. Then after you're done there's a playground right next door within walking distance. Highly recommend.

Great day out with family and friends especially if you have a train lover. Good value with a great park and bbq facilities. But beware you’ll have to wait in lines as this place is very popular
Lauren Williams — Google review
Great experience for all ages, my 1 and 3 year old loved it. The ride even went longer than I thought it would.
Coffee car and food trucks were there also to have you covered while you wait for the ride.

If you have young kids, you should definitely consider coming to this attraction. At AUD 4 per ticket, the kids (and the adults too!) will definitely enjoy and have fun taking the miniature trains. The queue might look quite long, but they move very fast. If you are a group, the group can send one person to get the tickets while the rest joins the queue.
The place is operated by volunteers, and that's very commendable, consider the amount of work required of this place.

Amazing miniature railway that is nothing miniature about it! It’s got a big station with a large platform for the many train lines to take all the excited passengers on the extensive collection of miniature trains that is lovingly and wonderfully cared for by a large number of volunteers. They even have a couple of really good tunnels. Highly recommended for anyone who are train enthusiasts or just love trains… the surrounds that the train goes around are so tranquil and relaxing too!
Zara Siew — Google review
The day we visited here the crowds were huge, especially since it was school holidays still. We didn't get to ride on one of the many trains they had, but we took plenty of photos to help others see how cool they look. It wasn't expensive to take a ride $4 per ride per person except if you're a wee train rider, under 2 are free, and the money goes towards keeping such an amazing attraction operating.

Well it is a great place and great experience
Ppl are super friendly and always smiling
We went with our new puppy and as they could not allow him to be on the train they offered to put him in an office till our ride is back 😮. They also make us skip the queue for that as we have 2 kids as well as the puppy.
$4 for the ride last for 13 min this is not bad at all
The cons.
Car park is a challenge
Trains diesel smell bet high specially for kids (been to the same park is Geneva Switzerland and smell was not that bad)
Looking forward to have it more of open park where trains can stop in each station and you can just ride another train to another route ( from the way it is setup I believe this is to come )
Last thing , can we please have Saturday as well at least :)
Overall thanks team it is a great experience

Amusement park with activities such as waterslides, go-karts, miniature golf & bumper boats.
Absolute blast!
Enough shade to take your own picnic basket or bbq stuff.
Some people had mini speakers as well, cool!
Wasn't necessary to get a bed at all especially because there is no food allowed in that area.

There is a wave pool and several attractions also. But water was not clean. Still good place to be. I want to go there again when it is not crowded. I had to wait about an hour to ride one attraction.

Went with my daughter and 2 grandsons ( 7 & 10 ) and we had a fantastic day. So many fun water and non water rides to go on. We arrived 9.45am and didn't leave until 4.45pm, tired and exhausted but we all agreed it was a great day. We splashed out and got a Beach Club VIP pass for the sun lounges and think it was worth it, very relaxed especially when it gets really crowded. Not a cheap day but considering all the attractions i consider it good value. Special mention to all Staff, they were exceptional 👏👏👏

Fun family day out at Funfields. My kids age 7 and 10 loved the slides and rides. Going I. March was great as it wasn’t super busy and rides were at most a 5 minute wait. There were enough seats around the Volcano Beach to sit and the water at the wave pool was fun for kids without being too deep. We will be back again!

We got season passes for the first time and we absolutely love this place. The water slides are fantastic and the non water rides and attractions are fun for all. I can't wait to see what they will add in the future. Definitely getting season passes next year as well. Fun for all the family but check the hight restrictions for the young kids on the website before you visit.

We chose to go on the non-35-degree day of the weekend which was a great idea, no lines, sit anywhere you want, ride anything you want when you want. Great options for wet or dry rides for all ages. Kids had a blast, we stayed from opening to close. Only 1 small complaint, the gokarts were overstaffed with 4 workers while the kids rides were understaffed with staff having to jump between alternating rides.

Had awesome time and had fair amount of activities (90% of the activities are water activities )
But i think it's best to clearly explain about slingshot pass ( with that you can skip the line for one time for selected activities ) otherwise with general admission, you can do all the activities but there might be 30 min line in busy days 👍

The customer service at the theme park was incredibly disappointing. From long wait times to unhelpful staff, it made what should have been a fun day out incredibly frustrating. Our family went there yesterday for easter egg hunt which would have been first ever egg hunt experience for my 2.5 yr old son but due to lack of humbleness and empathy among staff, that experience went sour. They at first forgot to give us egg hunt pass at entry despite of asking them if we need one, FYI we 4 adults and 1 kid all bought full priced day pass and egg hunt ticket was included in same price. We lined up for 20 mins and when it was our turn to go for egg hunt, they said we cant allow u without egg hunt ticket which entry staff forgot to hand it to us. We mentioned if its okay if we show the entry ticket. They denied & said we need the egg hunt ticket and said to leave. My husband quickly ran to entry gate and got the ticket. We were back in literally 2 mins and showed them the ticket but they said now its turn for 4-6 yr kids and we cant let parent accompany your kid as big kids go on their own. They were not considerate at all knowing a child is awaiting to go. The hunt was meant to be till 1230 hrs for 0-3 yrs kids but they had started sending 4-6 yr kids from 1220hrs onwards. Further to that we went to icecream parlour located there to collect drinks. My son is a fussy eater and he wanted to have waffle cone by itself without icecream and we requested for same nd said we are happy to pay but they said we cant sell only cone without ice cream. What kind of customer service is this? It's disheartening when a place meant for enjoyment falls short in providing basic assistance and courtesy to its visitors.

We had an absolute ball at funfields today. All the young men and women working were really lovely, very helpful and had a sense of humour when we were a little (haha) scared of some of the rides. A really enjoyable day.
Just know if you are going on any of the land rides you need to be dry, so we did all the water activities and then changed into our dry clothes. We were there for 7 hrs.
Thanks funfields for a great day.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to Angelo Dinardo for being such a generous and kind Managing Director of this place. Today at 4.44pm after waiting for a good 20 minutes at Supenova we were turned down by the staffs. They told us that all the ride would close in 5 mins. We pleaded with them, telling them that we have waited for so long, but they didnt budge. My two daughters were so sad about it, so we and a bunch of others left. But, on the way down we accidentally met with Angelo and his dog, he saw us looking gloomed and questioned us why we went down. We told him the story, and he said “No one should be turned down, go back up and tell them Angelo said so”. So we did!
We had one last ride at Supenova and IT WAS THE BEST!
Thank you so much for bringing the smile back on my daughter’s faces.
Highly recommend this waterpark ❤️

The dishes were delicious, they only have a selection of 2 courses $70 or 3 courses $85 and we wanted 3 mains, 2 entrees. The manager was happy to charge us $48 for the extra main so that worked out great for us. They offered free wine tastings and a wide range of selections. Stunning view and great service. Great food and Service. The waitress went to bring colouring pencils for my 4 year old daughter which was much appreciated.
The quail wasn't gamey but the sauce was. Cheese platter could feed 4 I reckon.
The steak eye was amazing! Very well cooked with so much flavour! I was also impressed with the Dory. It had so much texture and bite compared to what I find in my country. The rabbit felt like tuna to me though but still good.

Excellent service and food! The waitress are very friendly and helpful. I booked the table online, they reserved a table with awesome window view for us! Delicious food, excellent quality and quantity. Good selection of wines. Four stars not five stars due to service (the staff were run off their feet); and there are better or just as good restaurants that are not as pricey.

Exceptional wine tasting at Yering Station Cellar Door! 🍷 Kudos to Ryan, the manager, for his expertise and hospitality. As a qualified winemaker from NZ, I vouch for the incredible taste of their wines. The 2021 Reserve Shiraz Viognier stole the show— very smooth tannins, ready for drinking now and ripe red fruits on the nose. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Yering Station Winery while on a Hen’s winery tour. The property was beautiful and had a great variety of wines. While we were there, we did a wine tasting session.
The staff member (sorry I don’t remember her name) was very knowledgeable on both the wines we were tasting, as well as the history of the winery which was great to listen to and learn about.
Overall I enjoyed the whole experience. I would come back here to try the food.

Had a delicious lunch at Yering Station as part of a wine tour. The potatoes are very well done and addictive. The lamb shank was perfectly fall off the bones with delicious flavours

Always love visiting this winery as they have such beautiful grounds. Their tastings are all very good value, we did the $15 tasting where we were able to try 9 different wines. Also if you buy any wine you get your tasting fees waived. Only thing is we came close to closing so our tasting was a bit rushed but still very enjoyable!

A lovely treat for the weekend!
We went to Yering Station for a Christmas lunch and it was absolutely delicious! We had the option for a 2 or 3 course meal but I would recommend the 3 as the food is too yum to miss. I had the zucchini flower entreé, and for main the Lamb rack which came with a mushroom pie and for dessert a peach panacotta!
Definitely a pricier experience but great for a special occasion :)

Stopped for wine tasting. Expert host took us through the various tiers of tasting and the entire flight of wines based on the tier chosen. Very informative and great introduction to Yarra Valley wine style. Beautiful winery.

Went there today for a 70th birthday. The food looks great in the photos, but had absolutely no flavour. The fish in the first photo was extremely dry and no flavour, the crab was exactly the same, I wouldn’t even call it crab for the minuscule amount that was inside. For $80 for two courses it was an absolute rip off. The only meal anyone in my family had anything positive words to say was the Kangaroo. Even the dessert had no flavour. We spent over $1000 as a family and feel extremely ripped off.
No table water, and no one came back to offer if we required more we had to flag staff down. Attention to detail lacking, no salt and pepper on the table either. Now I NEVER season my food but in this instance it definitely required seasoning. Don’t waste your money.

We came for a wine tasting after a recommendation from friends. Yering Station boasts the reputation as one of the oldest wineries in the region, and their skills are apparent in their wine. There is a good range of options for tastings and the Estate option provides you with the best selection.
After trying the Estate selection, I fell in love with the Shiraz Viognier and left with a bottle to share with my family 🍷The garden entrance to the tasting room is gorgeous and worth a visit, especially on a sunny day.

A great place for wine tasting, with friendly staff who explain every wine in great detail. This is my second time here from Singapore, the first was in 2016 and now in 2024. It's truly a beautiful place.

Enjoyed a lunch there a few days ago.
Very nice place, enjoyed walking around the Property after. Victoria's oldest winery. Not a big fan of the set price menu, although most of the wineries do it.Went there mid week so not to busy.
Would recommend this place.👍
Domaine Chandons sparkling wine is a must-try for wine lovers in Melbourne. The winery boasts an impressive range of Methode Traditionnelle wines, as well as a dynamic wine tourism offering including a tasting bar, restaurant, lounge bar and more.
Looking for a mini drive enjoying wine & picnic? Check out Domaine Chandon! Service was efficient staff are very pleasant and the picnic box was super cute! Check out the yummy goodies and that view! Just make sure to book if your wanting to picnic outdoors 😄

Love this place! One of our go-to wineries in Yarra Glen for its great food and wine. Best to have the wine tasting menu and especially liked the sweet selection with the Garden Spritz. Highly recommended!
Place is really nice as well with an overlooking view of the vineyard while the kids can run around the field. Great place to be with family and friends. Will definitely be back.

To be honest, the food is not as tasty as its look. We had 2 course dining . They looked presentable, however the taste not really. The wine taste the same where we choose pairing of 4 type of their house sparkling wine. The service is not bad the environment is quite chill and relaxing.

Very pleasant place, staff, wine, food and clean facilities. That was March 2022.
Went to Chandon again in May 2022. The consistency of service, friendly attitude and terrific food is remarkable. The Autumn colours of the vines bring a somewhat Chery atmosphere to the scenery on a rather dull but mild day. Peps you up really as do the Autumn leaves on the trees. Had some Oysters this time before a generous Charcuterie board. You don't have to go to the Peninsula to get fresh Oysters, they were as fresh as can be. Ah, Chandon tasting board, Oysters, Chandon wines, serene outlook.
Wonderful.

A great respite from city life. Very relaxing and peaceful. The winery is well maintained with excellent landscaping. Service is fast and efficient. Food is tasty and flavourful. The wine selection is divine. Do not forget to order the cheese and the wine samplers.

Beautiful location and lovely winery. The food was delicious, and I found the set menu difficult to finish (I can't eat a lot in a short time). Someone with a bigger appetite would be happy with the serves as they were generous but not too large.
Service was good, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. If you are visiting on a warm day, bring some insect repellent as the flies are a bit too friendly if you are outside.

We loved the whole experience. Food was awesome and well balanced 3 course menu + dessert. It was my partner's birthday I booked in and they surprised him with a candle on dessert and the dessert was free. The waitress was very helpful, patient and caring. She was always checking up on us to ensure we have the best experience. It's just the drinks we didn't enjoy much because of all sparkling drinks because none of us are fan of sparkling drinks.

We arrived early for our tasting (that we booked months before, but looked like they had room for walk-ins), and are we glad we did. The bar area was beautiful and the Spritz was absolutely delicious! The tasting itself was very well done and they were able to answer all of our questions. We ended up buying a bottle as well as a topper that survived the flight back to the US. I’d definitely recommend Domaine Chandon for anyone in the Yarra Valley!

Definitely one of the prettiest wineries in the valley still. They've rezoned the place post COVID so tasting is now in a separate room for $80 per person at set times, or you could just buy their tasting flights at any time, <$30 for 3 glasses a flight and purchase food together. We ended up just doing that instead as that seemed more worthwhile plus it was an hour and half wait for the next tasting. Amazing views of their well maintained and well landscaped vineyards with classy furniture to match. Friendly yet professional staff and good service. Can see myself revisiting with friends for a relaxed lunch of their charcuterie or cheese board especially! Toilets available. Free entry and parking.

Overall, food was pretty decent with faultless and prompt service.
Each paired wine was also given a brief background by the waitress with expectations on smell and taste.
Highly recommend the onion tarte tatin (not advisable if blue cheese is not your thing), king dory (had the pork found that it was not as tender as I'd like) and the pear with rice pudding.

We visited on a Tuesday afternoon and the sunshine and sparkles were plentiful! The Chandon grounds are absolutely beautiful, the landscape boasts vines, nearby hills, and a European courtyard vibe in the outdoor seating. We loved sitting under the umbrellas and enjoying two of the tasting flights.
Our absolute favourite was the Ruby Cuvée- we could have consumed a whole bottle. Instead we ordered a glass after our tasting and enjoyed the indoor area, which has gorgeous decor and a little merchandise store. The staff were lovely and the space feels like a perfect location for a Bridal Brunch or Hens Weekend stopover!
My one request is for Chandon to release their Ruby Cuvée in local retailers as we are not from the area and would love to purchase this more regularly!

Recently after coming to Melbourne We visited Chandon to taste their beautiful wines. Although we had tried Chandon sparkling wine earlier also but tasting the same wine in their winery is itself a unique experience. It was a fabulous day and the food & wine together is sensational.Staff serving there was very friendly and knowledgeable and the Lounge Bar has a lovely views. Food was exceptionally good with a bowl of perfectly cooked chips with a homemade ketchup. A lovely bottle of Chandon Garden spritz was the perfect accompaniment. Looking forward to my next visit.

We try and visit Chandon at least once a year. It is always a fabulous day and the food and wine is sensational. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the Lounge Bar has lovely views. We opted for the Charcuterie platter which contains the best chicken liver parfait I’ve ever had. Gorgeous oysters with a yuzu dressing were tart and citrusy. Topped off with a bowl of perfectly cooked chips with a homemade ketchup. A lovely bottle of Chandon Vintage Brut Rose was the perfect accompaniment. Looking forward to our next visit. Four Pillars Gin Distillery, located in Healesville VIC 3777, is a modern distillery specializing in producing a range of unique gins. The contemporary tasting room provides guests with the opportunity to sample their gin cocktails and snacks while enjoying the refreshingly modern decor. Although wine tasting is popular in Yarra Valley, Four Pillars offers an alternative experience with casual tastings and tutored masterclasses, showcasing their innovative approach to gin-making.
Quite a large space.
Good service.
So many different gins on offer.
We did a few cocktails.
My favourite was the PB&J cocktail- could really taste the roast peanut and chocolate in there. So good.

I hadn't been in a while, and wow, has it grown and changed for the better. There is now more space for everyone. You can make a quick stop for a queeky drink the bar or sit and enjoy lunch in the dining area with a beautiful menu and extensive cocktail selection. There are also special tasting experiences and classes. But remember you need to book in advance, as they are very busy.
The staff are all very friendly and a few of the more senior staff have a lot of knowledge.
We certainly felt welcomed into the Four Pillars home.

We’ve been to four pillars back in the early days, during their renovation and today. Great gin, my fav is the bloody Shiraz gin, and for lunch they have an expanded menu now. Today we had their grazing board which included some gin infused bites such as the salmon and duck pate. A great combo with their gin paddle. Highly recommend you check this place out for lunch in Healesville, the distillery looks amazing.

This venue was absolutely amazing - we came here for a gin tasting session and the assistant who was explaining each type of gin was informative and helpful! We were super impressed by this distillery and how sustainable they were as they had used copper and recycled bricks. They even had recycled gin bottles as vases on the tables. The whole look was amazing! We decided to have the gin paddle and arancini balls - both were delicious! The staff were lovely and friendly which added to the experience. If you are a gin lover and in the Yarra Valley you would be mad to miss this stop!

Great vibes and friendly staffs. This place is so popular that I can see a lot of walk-ins waiting for seats. My partner and I ordered G&T paddle and PB&G, both of them are surprisingly good. We also had their locally produced nuts, which is the best spiced nuts I’ve ever had!

Really there is only one reason to visit and that’s for the gin! The G&T paddle it’s enough to share one paddle between 2, plus delicious small plates. The bagel is a must try and so is the taramasalata dip with Turkish bread, light foods to complement the gin. Staff are fab and know all about their gin and cocktails. We loved it all and walked out with a few bottles.

Had the 30 minutes gin tasting session with Paolo. He explained the different Gin well and accommodated us well. Knowledgeable about the product. My favorite is the olive gin and the Shiraz. 15 AUD for the experience.

The restaurant at The Four Pillars gin distillery provides a remarkable culinary experience, perfectly complemented by a gin tasting.
Among the standout dishes, the chicken, leek, and tarragon pie was a true delight, as were the confit duck arancini and gin-cured salmon bagel. The ham, cheese, and chili jaffle was also a pleasant surprise.
The service was both professional and friendly, adding to the welcoming and warm atmosphere of the place.
Overall, it's a gastronomic experience not to be missed for gin enthusiasts and lovers of inventive cuisine.

This place has some great gin and food but the whole experience feels a little rushed. The waiters are rushing to get you your food and beverages and always seem to be out of breath. The only time the waiters didn't feel rushed was bringing my gin paddle where they actually slowed down and explained the hub. Was a bit shocked they gave us a ticket saying we only had 90 minutes even though the place was half empty.
It is the most popular gin distillery on the area but I find it is a little over hyped and over priced.

Our visit to Four Pillars Gin Distillery for a tasting was truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, setting the stage for an immersive experience. Alexa, our guide, went above and beyond, offering insightful and detailed explanations about the intricate process of crafting their remarkable gins. Her knowledge and enthusiasm added a layer of depth to the tasting, making it not just a drink, but a journey through the artistry of distillation. The distillery itself exuded a sense of craftsmanship, and the diverse range of gins showcased the mastery of flavor. It was an impressive and memorable exploration into the world of gin, leaving us thoroughly delighted. Highly recommend for both enthusiasts and those new to the craft!
Located in Seymour is a commerative site dedicated to the service people who served in South Vietnam in 1962-1975.
The building on site has poster displays and is a replica of a concert stage built at Nui Dat during the Vietnam War called Luscombe Bowl.
On site is a Huey helicopter elevated on a pole and Centurion tank.
(Sorry Keith the Huey on a pole trumps your land Rover on a pole)
There is the Long Tan Cross to commemorate soldiers who lost their lives during the battle of Long Tan on 18th August 1966.
The commemoration wall has background images superimposed over the names of the 60,267 service personnel and 11 tracker dogs who served in South Vietnam.
There are holders for poppy flowers.

A wonderfully peaceful setting. We sat overlooking the river on a hot day. Shade cloth, an umbrella and trees protected us from the sun and an ingenious system of sprays kept most of the flies at bay. I had crisp pork belly that was as flavoursome as I have ever had. Delicious. Watching birds and listening to their song kept us entertained over lunch.

I had lunch with my friends at Tahbilk Estate Restaurant. We ordered
House Made Mushroom, Parmesan & Truffle Croquettes $21 (there’s nothing special about this dish)
Roast & Brined free-range chicken breast $40 (chicken is tender and juicy)
Tahbilk Seacuterie plate $68 (this plate comes with 3 pieces of oysters and 3 pieces of prawns and salmon roe crème fraiche) it’s very pricy compared with what we get from this dish
Chargrilled 230g Angus Eye Fillet Steak $58 (this quality steak was cooked to perfection)
Sweet potato chips (this is my favourite item from the table)
Overall, service is not up to the standard. Need to call the server to top up water and server told us they don’t have anything to pack for our left over sweet potato chips)

The river view was lovely, but that was the only compliment I can give. Steak that was raw in the middle and a waitress who was rude. Had a wonderful time here celebrating my birthday!
The restaurant itself was lovely, the food interesting and delicious and the service very friendly.
Unfortunately I forgot the name of our waitress but she had blue and pink split dyed hair. Anyway, she did a great job and answered all our questions happily.
We had the special Good Friday 2 course meal including one glass of wine for $65 pp. This was very reasonable, we were just a bit sad that the wine that was included in that price didn't necessarily include something we liked 100% so we went with the next best and then in addition ordered a bottle of moscato which we highly enjoyed. The pink moscato was so delicious!
We had a variety of food between us 4.
We tried the lemon and sage pasta, the roast lamb, the truffle croquettes, the meat platter and the cheese board.
We were very satisfied with everything. We honestly had such a great time with our friends here. After our lunch we headed for a walk behind the restaurant looking at the wine fields.
We are not from the area but we will certainly return when we are again! 🍷🧀🥖

Lovely location, beautiful views and good staff. We had the mushroom and truffle croquettes, cauliflower and carrot, the lamb and the silverside with the suggested wine pairings. Croquettes were delicious. Loved the cauliflower. Lamb pulled apart beautifully, but the lentils were a bit much and the dukkah was a too liberally used. The silverside was disappointing. It was dry, salty and tough. (Hence the 4 ⭐️).
Wine pairings were perfect. We particularly loved the Shiraz and Rosé 💕

Visited for a work Christmas lunch and was frankly disappointed. The day was hot, yet we were seated outside on the barely shaded verandah while the air conditioned interior remained empty. While bottled water was available, it would have been nice to have been chilled considering the weather.
We had confirmed on booking that meals and not small plates would be on offer, yet we were only offered the smaller tapas options on the day- not ideal for a large gathering. The trout pate & sweet potato chips were delicious, but the rest of the menu was lacking. Three small.pieces of pork belly in a dish for $24 is unreasonable. The total.cost of the meal was twice that of surrounding similar options that offer full meals.
Gorgeous surroundings, but won't eat there again.

MOVE is a non-profit museum that exhibits vintage vehicles, such as cars, bikes and trucks, along with driving-related items. Recently upgraded, the museum now showcases a red Gullwing at the front which catches visitors' attention. While the truck exhibit in the rear is comprehensive, some visitors may prefer to see more cars. Additionally, MOVE displays other historical artifacts like telephones, radios and clothing. There's also an interesting collection of Furphy foundry products and history on display.
Absolutely fabulous. Hubby and I went to just get away and have a break together. (Plus we both grew up on dirt bikes and love cars 😊 $18 each just for the transport side as we weren't interested in seeing the other fashion demo on at present. $24 each if we wanted to add that on so not much more. HUGE place with some column gas heaters dotted about. Bring a jacket though. Seating also dotted about so you can just sit and admire the vehicles. Motorbikes, cars, racing cars, trucks, bicycles and more in the transport museum areas plus info boards for each item. Also a sound wall for vintage phones and radios etc by his masters voice, Edison, Astor etc. Sunday open time 10.30 till 4pm. We loved it!! Will definitely be recommending. I have an older son that will be putting this place on his go to list for sure!

Frankly, if it were possible I'd give MOVE 10 stars! What an amazing place, with an incredible array of vehicles, information and story telling. The more you look, the more you find.
Unfortunately my wife isn't really into vehicles hence I could only manage enjoying MOVE for about 90 minutes. If I was on my own it would take me at least three hours to see and read all.
The range of 'transport' on display included everything from the earliest bicycles to buses of various ages, an amazing array of trucks, cars ranging in age from two or three years old to over 100 years, race cars, modified cars and the list goes on and on.
That there was a large array of Harley Davidson motorcycles and several other interesting items it is somewhat irrelevant as the wonderful owners advised that the complexion of equipment on show changes dramatically every few months.
MOVE is a must for anyone having an interest in all things with wheels and a lot more.

They also have a kenworth cab that people can sit in and steer down a recorded street.
Plus, there are some great displays of clothing from loel Thompson's collection from Australian history.
A good day out.

We stopped in for what we thought would be a Quick Look and ended up spending hours here. There is so much to see and it’s great for all ages. They have a cool interactive section for the kids.
It was so interesting to see all the different types of transport over the years.
We were approached by Judith who works there and she was lovely to chat to. She was asking the kids questions about what they liked and explained lots to them. Thank you Judith for your time today 😊
Highly recommend coming here for a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

I took my child down to do some stand up paddle boarding today ,Easter Saturday. What a mess it is with all the sea weed , we couldn't even get into the water near the canoe club ,boat sheds , It was that thick . We go to this spot often when council run stand up paddle boarding lessons are on , and its always clear and not so bad , why has it been left so bad and dangerous over a long weekend, not happy at all

Chrismont - Cellar Door, Restaurant & Larder
Winery
Food & Drink
Wineries & Vineyards
We’ve planned a visit to Chrismont for some time. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. The cellar door & restaurant are situated high on a Hill with magnificent views of King Valley. Our cellar door tasting was excellent - we got through the full list and enjoyed many of the wines. The lunch was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had such a great time and enjoyed the wines so much, we signed up for membership and departed with a full box of wines
Lindsay Mann — Google review
We have dined before, the food, staff and views all outstanding and second to none in the King Valley. However my visit on Thursday was just for a couple bottles of wine for the weekend, I ended up with 6, but could’ve bought them all. Their wines are true to Italian style and of high quality, but affordable. A varied and extensive range to try also. Well done Chrismont!
Dave J — Google review
Oh wow! Where do I start? The food is absolutely incredible, the wines are the best in the valley, the views from the deck are amazing, and the service by every staff member was THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! Really, we were served by 5-6 staff members and they were all incredibly friendly, efficient and fun. You can tell they all love their job. Did I mention the food, the wine? Will definitely be back here many more times to come!

We dined in the Larder restaurant today, a celebration for our daughter's graduation. We were welcomed warmly from our first moment to the last, treated to a pre-lunch wine tasting to help us choose our wines. All of the dishes were superb, and the service outstanding.
Every time we come here it is a joyful experience. Jo and her team make everyone feel special and cared for. Thanks for a memorable day.

What a location! What a view! What a meal! What service! We had a selection of entrees - all delicious and all highly recommended. The service was impeccable - we were made to feel very welcome by the lovely Bruno and all of the staff at Chrismont! Highly recommended - a definite must visit if you are in the area and if you’re not, you should make a detour!

Brilliant service and food on our honeymoon visit to the Chrismont. The staff were kind and caring and very genuine. We were congratulated by at least 3 waitstaff and thought the food was delicious. We ordered two courses and were so full. I’m sure the deserts were fantastic too. The view is delightful and we would definitely return and recommend to others!

Must-visit destination in King Valley.
Rocked up for a very tasty lunch at the restaurant, delicious food, relaxing vibe and views (reminded us a bit of Orange with rolling hills and sparkling cellar door perched on high) and of course great wines too. Tip: have a glass of prosecco to start. Whites, Reds and stickies all fantastic.
Customer service was A+ with some warm-hearted banter and was quick and efficient.
Will definitely be back to stay a night or two once accommodation opens up.

A truly wonderful experience in a superb setting overlooking vineyard with views of the King Valley region. Wine tastings are enjoyable, and well done, but the real pleasure comes from dining in their restaurant. Wonderful service, a well thought out menu, excellent presentation, flavours and combinations in all our dishes. Highly recommend.

The outstanding customer service & hospitality started long before we arrived at Chrismont Wines. Jo's communication regarding our accommodation booking, restaurant booking & local tips could not be faulted. Our breath was taken away as we drove through the Chrismont gates; the vines were a welcoming sight & the sky was filled with more stars than we can ever remember seeing. The kitchen was stocked with an abundance of beautiful foods, from sweet to savoury - we were never left hungry! Sitting on the decking looking out over the property, provided the perfect setting for us to entertain & take time out from city life. The service, food & wine in the restaurant didn't disappoint. John from the cellar door was entertaining & knowledgeable. Jo & Arnie were so welcoming, friendly & generous with their hospitality. Google reviews are great, but WOM is even better... we have been telling all of our friends & family about our memorable stay at Chrismont Wines & we can't wait to return!

A huge thank-you to Nigel, whose knowledge and friendly banter made our tasting visit a memorable occasion. The diverse range of wines were all delicious and reasonably priced - struggled to make a decision for the dozen bottles we bought.
Arrived too late for a meal - but the reviews of the menu and photos look very tempting - next time!
Thanks again Nigel.

I recently made a lunch booking at Chrismont and asked about accommodation unfortunately the accommodation was fully booked but Jo offered to help me with local accommodation. I then changed the lunch date to my partners birthday the very next day and this was no problem, Jo emailed me again to see if I had secured accommodation and if she could help with this and then offered to provide us with an antipasto platter to take to our accommodation that night. We have had several meals at Chrismont and the level of care and service always amazes me. Can’t wait to catch up soon

Fabulous service and wine! We were a last minute booking and were offered a wonderful table overlooking the property. The man at reception was the friendliest person ever. A big smile and a big warm welcome. We did the premium tasting of 8 of their wines... all of them yummy. And, the musical duo of guitar and violin walking around singing folk songs in French, English and Italian reminded me of being in the centre of Rome! Wonderful experience from beginning to end!!! Great service from her, very knowledgeable with her wines and lovely to talk to.
Very nice antipasto platter, well worth it. Very relaxing environment. Very nice wines .
One thing I found surprising. We paid the $10 each for the wine tastings. However no refund on tasting costs after spending nearly $300 on wine and food.

We spent a long weekend here with friends. Three couples stayed in the magnificent Rosetta’s cottage. This is a beautifully constructed and lovingly maintained example of early sixties Australian architecture, but made with Italian craftsmanship. An exquisite terazzo patio, parquetry floors throughout, high ceilings and large double bedrooms make this residence an absolute delight. The mature plantings in the garden include exotic fruits, and glorious shade trees. We also partook of the cooking lessons conducted by Katrina. Let Katrina cast her spell over you too, especially if you love Italian food. We had a fantastic weekend in a most scenic spot, with great food, interesting wine and good company.

Absolutely amazing little hideaway clean friendly picturesque location and the breakfast hamper left there for me was just right eggs, bacon, beans, bread, butter, milk, oats, yoghurt, jam I couldn’t eat it all, and I would 100% recommend staying here 👌 wish I had stayed a few more nights and the Mountain View hotel food wow and I mean wow the Porkchop was cooked to perfection, and I could’ve eaten three more of them 🙌 the potato, gnocchi, beef and pork Bolognese was the same and the starters the home-made beef and pork meatballs was yummy I didn’t want to leave👌

I purchased the Pizzini food and wine experience for my wife’s birthday, and we were not disappointed.
The staff at both the winery and the mountain view hotel go above and beyond to make this experience special.
They rolled out the red carpet for us and treated us like rockstars. The service is spot on.
The winery itself is beautiful and the wine delicious. There was not a wine I didn’t like. We are now in the Pizzini wine club.
The antipasti style lunch was also perfect.
The mountain view hotel beer garden is a special place, hidden in the trees and this where we had our 4 course degustation dinner. The food again was delicious and wine to match.
There is to many great things to mention about this experience and I would recommend to anyone.
Thanks to Caroline and all the staff at the mountain view hotel who made this experience special for myself and my wife.

The new owners are as Ned mad as I am! Had a lovely talk with them and went into their museum which they are planning to do some improvements. They have lots of souvenirs to choose from. I enjoyed my visit and highly recommend a look
Shez H — Google review
Don't get thrown off by the tacky (no offense)-looking entrance and tourist gift shop. Inside is a museum easily worthy of an installation at a large natural/national history museum like Melbourne Museum or similar. Most impressive was the full scale replica of the Kelly homestead, as well as the cockatoos and cat, which are completely unrelated but still very cute.
Friendly and enthusiastic staff, solid collection of random period artifacts as well as relevant documents such as newspaper clippings, wanted posters, well worth the $12 Adult ticket fee.
Very homely vibe, the people who work there clearly care about the legend and story behind Ned Kelly and are happy to share it.
Travis Ng — Google review
Ned Kelly was an infamous bushranger and outlaw who had his last siege in Glenrowan when he was captured in 1880 and hanged in Melbourne gaol. This museum provides a great insight into who he was and how he came up against the law and police in Victoria. The homestead at the back is a replica of his home and gives a peak into life in Victoria back then. The Glenrowan town itself has lots of places preserved well still showcasing the story of Ned Kelly. Definitely worth a visit if you around Glenrowan.
Nakul pisolkar — Google review
Great little place to buy anything and everything Ned Kelly related. If you can't find it here, there's something wrong.
They also have a wicked museum to check out.
A MUST SEE if you're visiting Glenrowan.
Darrell Hamilton — Google review
Enjoyed our wander around this lovely little Museum with a wealth of information and replicas. The Kelly house out the back is well done and really gives you a feel for how they lived in past days. I really enjoyed learning about the history of Ned Kelly. We also visited Beechworth where he was trialed first and we think we found his unmarked grave site at Greta Cemetary. At $12 pp, this Museum is the most expensive that we have been to. They would make more than enough selling all of the Kelly trinkets and gifts out front in the shop.

Great place to visit and learn more about Ned Kelly and his life. Lots of interesting information, memorabilia and historical items. The replica house was very interesting as were the wonderful cockatoos.

If you want to know what really happened to Ned Kelly, his family and mates don't go past this shop. A fascinating dog friendly museum, replica home out at the rear of the property, 2 very old and cheeky sulphur crested cockatoos and a blacksmith (in winter time) Simply amazing details of life in the Ned Kelly era. Owners are wonderful people with a passion for sharing their knowledge. Also a little toy animal hunt for the kids. Shop is full of terrific souvenirs.

Big monument of the bushranger Ned Kelly. Plenty of things to get photos I front of. Heaps of parking and just off the main motorway.
A few cafes and places to grab a drink and some food.
Worth a look if you're going past. Won't hold you up very long at all.

Honestly excellent.
Small home made museum that lays out the history of the Kelly gang really well.
It’s filled with relics from the time, and some key artefacts from history.
They have even rebuild the Kelly homestead out the back.
$12 for an adult is well worth it.
They were also so friendly, and so passionate.
To top it off, they give you a map of the town with all the key places to visit and will chat about recommended places to visit.
Free parking for the centre. Really great location with lots of interesting gifts inside. All encounters with staff were exceptionally friendly and their local area knowledge is excellent and gave is some ideas of things to do while we stay here. Make sure you go inside. Worth a visit.

BEWARE DO NOT RENT ELSINOR APARTMENT 2!
We have rented holiday accommodation through here for several years now and have always had excellent service. Unfortunately the accommodation has not always been the 5 star experience promised but the staff always work hard to rectify the problems.
This year we were unlucky enough to rent Elsinor Apartment 2 whereby we were met by a litany of issues - dirty oven, filthy freezer, leaking toilet, faulty air-conditioning in master bedroom and a TV in main living that didn't work after the first hour after arrival. There began many hours each day of emails and calls to try and fix the aircon and TV. After 4 days aircon was up and running. After 7 days, still no TV and there won't be for the duration of our 10 day stay! And owners are not returning calls for hours at a time....to the point they offered us to check out of the apartment on Australia Day public holiday if we weren't happy..... we come to Yarrawonga Mulwala with other families every year and enjoy spending the days and nights watching the Australian Open while socialising....not this year!
Lauren and Melanie at the Centre did their very best to help but owner was extremely unhelpful and clearly didn't care.
Not a relaxing holiday when I had to wait around for hours for repair people to turn up and spent half my day trying to get things fixed.

What a great winery. The grounds are beautiful. Friendly staff. I enjoyed reading the history about the family. Toilets clean and a lovely restaurant. We camped at their campsite opposite and it was so nice.

Wine tasting was $5 for 5 wines and there’s no option to taste individual wine before purchase. Beautiful winery grounds with clean toilets but didn’t stay long as the restaurant was fully booked out.
Their bestseller Prosecco are probably cheaper to buy from Dan Murphy’s than the cellar door.

Our visit to Brown Brothers Winery was nothing short of fantastic.
Despite being unable to explore the vineyards, the immaculate estate and sunny weather set a delightful ambiance. We indulged in a wonderful wine tasting experience at the cellars, savoring an exquisite selection of wines.
Although the restaurant was understaffed and unable to accommodate bookings, the service remained commendable, with the waitress candidly informing us of the situation. We still relished in a diverse menu of grazing options, each dish complementing the wines, lemonade, and strong coffee.
The beauty of the estate added to the overall charm, making it a highly recommended destination for a memorable day out with family.

Aahhh Browns Brothers! Our fourth visit and there are still new wines to taste. We booked a wine tasting for $15 each and had 45mins with Rose, our wine consultant, enjoying old favourites and many new ones with explanations of how they were made etc. The children had a lounge to play their Ipads and colour in. All in all, a great way to indulge in some wine tasting! They have something for every palate! The restaurant was fully booked for lunch, so book days in advance, but we had a coffee and the kids played in the enclosed playground. A relaxing afternoon!

REVIEW:
Presentation of Brown Brothers was absolutely stunning. The colours were vibrant to add interest, and definitely made the dishes more enjoyable to eat. If it looks good... there's a high chance it'll taste good!
It did hit the peak for the second entrees. Lots of combinations I don't usually get, and they've incorporated stracciatella in their menu which, in my opinion, is an understated refreshing flavour that is trending in Modern Australian cuisine at the moment. I've liked some of their interesting flavour combinations such as garden radish and the witloof which I've never had this way before!!
Their mains were a little bit of a let down for me. They weren't as excited as the entrees, and they served sous vide chicken which is a personal hate of mine. My friends enjoyed it though for its perfect white meat, but I find all "boiled" chicken bland. Looking @u haianese chicken.
Brown brothers focus on sustainability and reusing their ingredients. Love the stories of how they source local, and commit to minimal waste.
If it's not too out of the way, Brown Browners with their friendly service (and warm heaters!) is decent.

We had lunch at Brown’s Winery yesterday. The food was absolutely amazing.
The waitress introduced herself very professionally with great knowledge and expertise.
The food was a fantasy of flavours. Every dish was superb and beautifully presented. The tart was exquisitely delicate and fine. I don’t know how the chef did it.. I wanted to pair the wine so the waitress explained the wines and suggested the most appropriate. A sensational eating feast of delicious, fresh, sustainable vegetables and herbs grown in Brown’s garden, along with quail, chicken, beef etc cooked in a way I haven’t experienced before. Best lunch I have ever had, so I don’t need to travel to Melbourne to find really delicious food! It is found at Brown’s Winery. .
A truly memorable day. Thanks to the chef and waitress.

As part of our weekend away we managed to do a pit stop at Brown Brothers, the rain didn’t stop us.. immersed in their wonderful wines and jams we had to buy a few more and enjoy the experience.
Some of our favourites were the Prosecco; Moscato; and various red wines.. We couldn’t resist the Prosecco; Cienna and Mascato jams (yum, they go great with our scones). The group stocked up on wines and jams as part of our stop and we’re looking forward to being back next year to enjoy the menu presented at the restaurant.
Staff were extremely friendly, heart warming and knowledgeable. Such a wonderful team out there who welcomed us with high spirits.

I love an experience where you try one dish and it’s delicious. Then try another and it’s also amazing. And the third is also delicious and you then you can’t pick your favourite. This was the great start to the menu at Brown Brothers. The venue has well spaced tables and floor to ceiling glass windows which allow you to sip and eat while surrounded by the green trees. This was perfectly matched by the service by Jason and Alex. I was surprised when given the set menu that it wasn’t chose one dish from each section - you get all the dishes! And all for $80. Incredible value. Each dish is locally sourced perfectly paired with a Brown Brothers wine. It’s become my favorite regional Victorian restaurant.

We love this winery. The wine is great. Wide selection of Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cab Sav and loads more. The food is really good, and there’s a nice little playground for younger children. We were there midweek today and it was pretty quiet. We’ve been there before on busy days and it’s still pretty good because there’s loads of space. Also, their fortified wines are amazing.

Second time - We had a slow lunch course that was amazing, so there were different dishes. I like the oyster leaves that taste like oysters and chicken skin chocolate is good, too(chocolate was service and we couldn't guess what's inside). The service was welcoming and friendly 😊
I really enjoyed the whole dishes. Thanks
First time-Restaurants was booked out, but even the snack menu was great. Really want to try restaurant next time.

We had lunch at Brown Brothers Winery last Thursday and it was amazing. The $80 set menu was sensational with more than enough food. Each dish (from the delicious bread to the last course beef) was creative, tasty and full of flavour. Both wait staff were outstanding and really added to the wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch!

Prior to this visit, our experience with Campbell”s was limited to its sweet muscats. When we mentioned this at the cellar door, Barry put us to rights by pouring tastes of the entire Campbell’s line up. To be sure, the muscats remain excellent. The surprise is particularly in the robust red offerings. All are solid contenders in their category and a number are excellent. The premium Shiraz and durif wines should not be missed.
Our thanks to Barry for both the lovely platter and the instructive wine experience. We look forward to our next visit.

Reminiscent after 40 year absence this fantastic family vineyard is world class. The cellar door and garden surrounds are very comfortable, calm, special and welcoming. Even by motorbike from Hobart it is worth the trip.

Blown away by the delicious breadth and depth of the wines on offer, as well as the expert knowledge of Ange who looked after us! Such a beautiful winery and make sure you enjoy the cheese too!

I have been visiting Campbells winery for almost 40 years because I love the great range of wonderful wines, the friendly knowledgeable staff and the relaxing setting. I particularly enjoy the iconic Bobbie Burns and Brothers Shirazs as well as the special Durif , Sixties Block and fantastic range of fortified wines.

The wine tasting of wines that are a step above the ordinary, includiing whites, reds and fortifieds and delicious cheese platter we had for lunch was perfect. The ladies who looked after us couldn't have been more knowledgable or friendly. Would highly recommend you make the effort to give Campbells Wines Rutherglen a try. I'm sure you'll won't regret it.

Warm welcome. I learned more in my half hour at Campbells than I had all day touring the area. The Merchant Prince is the best Muscats on the planet and hast to be tasted to be believed.
The grounds are really beautiful.

Visited the cellar door on Thursday afternoon and there was a beautiful roaring fireplace which was a lovely touch, being in the middle of winter. There is an extensive wine list which includes aromatic white wines, dry red wines and sweet fortified wines. It was cold outside on my visit, but it looks like there is heaps of outdoor seating surrounded by rose bushes and vines which would get used in the warmer months.

In all honesty, the 5 is for the grounds, the staff (Ange) and the pure generosity of the tastings! There are about 30 wines on the tasting menu and the girls are up for you trying any and all without judgement. There weren’t too many I liked out of the 12 or so I tried but just cannot fault the experience. We left with 3 bottles of Amelie which is a beautiful light red, a great picnic wine! We also took a gerwutz and a bottle of Muscat but none of the reds appealed to me as a red drinker.

Didn't find many wines to our palate here, vineyard is very scenic and hosts functions there was a party going on in the outdoor area when we visited.

Scion Wine in Rutherglen offers a unique experience where visitors can enjoy a "Reverse BYO" concept, bringing their own picnic while the winery provides the wine. The friendly and knowledgeable staff, such as Alicia and Alyssa, offer great recommendations and information about the area. The winery is described as "young and fun," offering different takes on traditional wines with genuine craft knowledge. Visitors praise the "After Dark" wine and express excitement about returning for more tastings.
Beautiful place and excellent friendly service. Wine is exquisite, each one is is different and distinct, very creative.
We really enjoyed our time there and learn a lot about the wine making processes and flavors.

The wine is pleasant enough but be aware they have a very rigid tasting charge. $10 per person which is waived only if you buy 3 bottles each. My 2 friends and I wanted to buy 8 bottles (and they are not cheap) and they still wanted to charge us an extra $10. A bit of flexibility would make for much better customer relations. Unfortunately we left feeling a bit ripped off.

'Young and fun' winery. They know their stuff and a trying different takes on old favourites. Staff have been very well hired and trained; if you are looking for a different, slightly sassy take on wine - with genuine craft knowledge to boot - it's definitely worth getting to Scion. I loved the 'After Dark' wine.

Beechworth Historic Court House, situated on Ford Street, is an integral part of the Justice Precinct. Dating back to 1858, this impressive building complex was constructed with local honey-colored granite and includes several historic structures such as the former Telegraph Office, Police Station, Chinese Protectors Office, and Gold Wardens Office. Today, it stands as a museum showcasing Beechworth's rich history including its involvement in gold mining and World War II.
Tours run on the hour, highly recommend seeing the new Kelly Trials exhibit. Afterwards you can tour the courthouse and view the objects they have on display

Very friendly staff, sharing some extra stories with us. You need 1 to 2 hours to visit all the places that come with the heritage pass. Unfortunately we didn't have that much time bit we'll definatelly come back soon.
Dan B — Google review
If you want experience the deeper history of Beechworth, then the Court house is a great place to start. Beechworth has an amazing number of little places you can take the kids or yourself to go and have a visit to learn about Beechworth.
The court House is of course famous for its association with Ned Kelly, but it also is an amazing place to come and see a historic building, built in 1958 and was a working courthouse right up to 1989, this courthouse has been an interesting and integral part of the community just as much as the Beechworth Goal Has.
I love how you can almost access nearly every room of the courthouse minus the lady's balcony and a storeroom. But the Library happened to be our favourite room, it was filled with old law books and just had that nostalgic feel about it, the kids loved the library and the holding cells.
(They used to have an audio spill that used to play but that feature was not there anymore. It did make for a great way to experience the court room.)
The kids love being able to explore and sit where the judge and lawyers would sit and they did a little court play of their own. It was cheap to get in costing us a family of 6 $10. you could pay a bit extra for a guided tour which would probably have been great. There were souvenirs you could purchase for reasonable prices.
Accessibility: The courthouse is wheelchair friendly, and you can access most of the courthouse bar the cells I believe. The staff are welcoming and encourage all to come and take part in the history of Beechworth. Great place for kids and anyone to come and visit.

Nice and informative with so many preserved gems! Not the best for younger kids or people not too interested in the Ned Kelly story, but if you’re game you’re going to absolutely love it!

This place is fantastic! Cheap to visit. The court house is in original condition as it was on the last day is was used. Lots of interesting information to read. Ned Kellys trial began here in August 1880 before it was transferred to Melbourne. Don’t forget to go around the rear of the building where one of the old stable buildings still stand. Also the old stone lock up with would be terrible to be locked up in. The whole area is so interesting and next door is the telegraph office to visit as well.

The Courthouse is a part of Beechworth historic precinct alongside other historic buildings. It was built in 1858 and has seen many historic court hearing’s including Ned Kelly, his Mum Ellen Kelly and Elizabeth Scott and ran for 131 years. It’s very well preserved and has lots of interesting information to read and absorb. Definitely worth a visit if you are in or around Beechworth.

Fabulous old buildings in the main street opposite the Information Centre. There is a walk that you can do. Just ask in the Info Centre. These buildings all have great signs out front with info on what they were. They are all well preserved. One of the best historical streets that we have been to. This is where Ned Kelly had his first trial. Do visit the Information Centre across the road and the Bourke Museum behind the Info Centre. Beechworth is one of the best historical towns that we have visited.

am assuming due to couple of luxury hotels the beach has been really well maintained. Which is a really good point. I don't remember spending almost the entire day at any other beach but this. A beach worth visiting and spending time. Take a nice dip in the Arabian Sea. lie down on the beach get sun bathed and have yummy food on the shacks there.
p.s Our favourite shack was "Gloria". Mr Satish was a polite and very helpful host. Tried the others as well (Misha and Amish) but we found this the best. Gloria shack is between Misha and Amish, close to the beach opening of Mahindra Club.

Beechworth Historic Precinct Reserve, 94 Ford St, Beechworth VIC 3747, Australia
Old Beechworth Gaol, located on Ford Street, is part of the impressive Justice Precinct listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. The site was originally a government camp and later became a police reserve in 1856. Constructed of local honey-colored granite, the complex includes several historic buildings such as the former Telegraph Office, Court House, Police Station, Chinese Protectors Office, and Gold Wardens Office.
Quite an impressive tour which happens at scheduled times. Numbers are limited due to COVID at 40 people so it might be sold out if you rock up 5 minutes before the tour starts. Tickets are 18.50 and can be purchased from a small cafe which sells cakes and reasonable coffee which is a good problem if you come early. During school holidays they had tours at 11, 12 and 1 with each tour taking a little under an hour. Some info on the Kelly gang is also included.
Mathew Fedley — Google review
We joined a midday tour, had a really great guide who outlined the history on the Gaol and its life. The quirks of having a gaol that had to grow from the 1800s with bushrangers through to the late 1900s. If your in Beechworth it's worth a visit

great place for a tour! can even see the old balls people have hit on the roof from times of it being in use. can’t go onto the second level anymore but i do recall seeing peoples old magazine hangings of cars on the pin boards. recommend to buy tickets online before attending
Melody O'Grady — Google review
I am only reviewing the cafe as I actually have not done the Gaol tour. It was in the middle of Covid and there was a challenge with staff and being forced to close sporadically so the range of food and cakes wasn’t standard. The food was ok but not the best. I think when Covid has passed the men range and food quality will improve. I would recommend a visit here as the grounds are spectacular and the trees and outdoor seating is relaxing and splendid.

What a fantastic experience this was, we went here for a family day outing and we had explored the other small museums that were in the vicinity. We decided to book in online which was so easy and quick and was done with a tour guide. We ended up coming on a family open day which was a fun event although not a lot was going on, it was a cute and a light event.
We went with our kids and nephew, we met out the front of the goal and listened to an informative talk about the history of the Goal, then went inside the rec yard where we learnt more about the Goal and some of the stories of the inmates. We went inside the cell blocks and the talk continued we were then given about 10mins to have a free look around the bottom floor, the top floor was not accessible due to safety regulations. But the second floor was apparently the same as the bottom floor. You don't get to go through the entire building, this is probably having a lot to do with that there are other businesses now occupying the Goal.
It certainly was an interesting experience, i would have loved to see some other parts of the building, not just the cell blocks and parts of the yard. But the whole family really enjoyed the experience.
Accessibility for aged and Disable: There are some minor steps into the goal, we had a lady with a pram, and they accommodated the mum to access the area, so I would assume that a wheelie walker or wheelchair would be accommodated for.
It can be a bit hot during the warmer months as we stood outside listening to the talk which was a little uncomfortable, but at the time we went was tolerable. Maybe on hot days they change where they do the talk.
Food and drink: I believe they have a cafe there that runs most days of the week, it seemed a permanent fixture to the place and also there is a cafe.
I would recommend coming here and do the other museums as well as they support each other in the history of Beechworth.
hope you enjoy it as much as we did. :-)

Daniel was an exceptional tour guide during our visit to Beechworth Gaol. His knowledge of the gaol's history was both informative and engaging. He brought the stories of the prisoners and the conditions they endured to life with his vivid descriptions and attention to detail. Daniel's passion for the gaol's history was evident in his delivery and he went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in the group had a memorable experience. He was patient in answering all our questions and took the time to make sure we understood the complexities of the gaol's past. His enthusiasm for his job was infectious and made our visit to Beechworth Gaol all the more wonderful. We left feeling grateful for the experience and the opportunity to have had Daniel as our tour guide.

The Old Beechworth Goal is a site to be seen with its high granite walls, which is fine stone work i must add to its razor wire on top, the Goal was opened for prisoners in 1864...
The entrance to the Beechworth Goal is located on Williams St. The building does take up a lot of land and also can be seen along Ford St and High St...
The longing question most people ask is about Edward/Ned Kelly, who did, in fact, spend some time at this Goal with his first conviction at 16 in 1870 for Actually doing nothing just receiving a stolen horse from somebody else which started his life as a bush ranger/outlaw...
Also, the prison has been home to some of Australia's most well-known bushrangers, including Joe Byne and Harry Powers. The prison also held twenty or so suspected Kelly gang riders in 1879....
Another name what some one say as a big name in crime was Carl Williams, and over the 140 years of the Beechworth Goal being in service, I could say the books would be full of names...
There is a tour that runs most days, and we were hoping to take one of these tours, but unfortunately, we missed out and run out of time in the beautiful town of Beechworth...
We did get the chance to take a small stroll around the outside, I will update my post when I get the chance to take a tour on the inside of this prison.

Woolshed Falls is a popular tourist attraction that offers stunning scenery and a viewing deck for visitors to enjoy. After heavy rainfall, the waterfall area becomes even more picturesque. The site includes a picnic area, ample parking, and nearby bush tracks for exploration. For those who are steady on their feet, it's possible to walk down onto the rock formation near the waterfall face. Visitors can swim or shower in the falls but should be cautious during hot summer days as temperatures can rise quickly.
This place was fantastic! Stunning scenery, easy access for all abilities to the top viewing platform. An easy walk down onto rock formation for anyone steady on their feet. Was lovely to sit around or explore the rock formations on the waterfall face. Absolutely gorgeous was to while away the hours on a sunny day.

First track to the left as you're heading down Woolshed Rd. You will either have to walk it, 4x4 or bike it. It takes you to the top of the falls. You can't get to it from the other side. Great place to do nothing or walk the rocks.

It's a very short walk.
Just be careful whilst walking on wet rocks, they can be slippery because of the musk.

Really easy waterfall lookout to go to as the platform is right next to the carpark. Then you can go to the top of the waterfall too, just go down the track which is not difficult at all but not accessible for wheelchairs. Wear proper hiking shoes as a caution so you can explore the top of the waterfall safely. Went when it was absolutely pumping. Probably one of the best waterfalls in this area of the state!

Woolshed Falls - So beautiful 🤩
Woolshed Falls is a stunning natural attraction located in the heart of Victoria, Australia. As soon as you arrive, you will be struck by the sheer beauty of the area, with its pristine waterfalls cascading over the rocky terrain. The sound of the water is soothing and the air is fresh and invigorating.
The walk to the falls is well-marked and relatively easy, with a clearly defined path that winds its way through the lush bushland. Along the way, you will see a variety of native flora and fauna, including kangaroos and wallabies.
When you arrive at the falls themselves, the view is simply breathtaking. The water cascades down a series of rocky steps, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's power and beauty. The surrounding cliffs and lush vegetation only add to the overall ambiance of the area.
One of the best things about Woolshed Falls is that it is relatively quiet and peaceful, with few tourists around. This means that you can enjoy the beauty of the area at your own pace, without feeling rushed or crowded.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Woolshed Falls to anyone who loves nature and outdoor activities. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or simply looking for a relaxing day out in nature, this beautiful attraction is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Absolutely beautiful experience. There was about 10 people there all spaced out, so it wasn't too crowded, which made the experience pleasant. We visited the Falls first, and the water was cold and beautiful, and even had a large pond for kids to play in. Afterwards, we went to the viewing point looking down at the Falls, which was also beautiful to look at, with information about the history of the Falls which was pleasant to read and learn about. Always a stopping point for us when we are passing through the area!

Visiting a few days after some reasonable rain in early summer there was plenty of water flowing, and pleasant to explore amongst the rocks, though they were slippery in parts.
Viewing of the waterfall with these shots was available for wheelchair access, though obviously a bit of a scramble and some steps to get onto the waterfall area.

A mighty popular spot with many flocking to the upper falls for a swim in the streams that make up the falls. Mighty big plummet if you get too close to the falls itself. Surprisingly, no real warning signs to speak of so be sure to pack your common sense if you decide to picnic there

Water begins at the top and makes its way to the bottom.
My theory is that gravity plays some role in this process.
Others believe it is a magical phenomenon. Who knows!
All I can say is that it would make for a great place to cool down on a toasty day and even on this cooler day was a nice place to visit.
Monument Hill Parklands is a serene and well-maintained observation area that offers incredible views of Albury. The park features memorials from both World War I and II, making it a meaningful destination for military history enthusiasts. There are walking tracks throughout the park, which provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the natural surroundings while enjoying peaceful moments. Monument Hill Parklands also has restroom facilities available for visitors' convenience.
I agree, this a must visit location in Albury with the Services Memorial at its centre.
The memorial is well maintained and is a great location to look over Albury.
You can drive right to the top and enjoy the view or get some exercise done on one of the many trails around the hill.
There’s a milk bar on the way up to the summit to enjoy.

Only odd part of the design is you want to use the loo you have to walk on the road, not sure why a path wasn't built from the monument spot to the other path? View is hindered by overgrown trees.

It's a good place to be there for walking and spending some time. I reckon it could be best if there's anything more to do. A decent place, memories are attached to this place.

Monument Hill in Albury, New South Wales, is a beautiful and historic park that offers breathtaking views, lush greenery, and rich heritage. As a nature lover and history enthusiast, I recently visited Monument Hill in Albury and was captivated by its beauty and significance.
The park is located on top of a hill, offering panoramic views of the city of Albury and the surrounding countryside. The vista from the hilltop is simply stunning, with expansive views of the cityscape, the Murray River, and the distant hills. It's a perfect spot to watch the sunrise or sunset, take in the beauty of the landscape, and capture some stunning photographs.
The park is well-maintained and features well-manicured lawns, mature trees, and colorful gardens, creating a serene and picturesque ambiance. There are plenty of seating areas, picnic tables, and BBQ facilities, making it a great place for picnics, gatherings, or simply relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
One of the main attractions of Monument Hill in Albury is the War Memorial, which stands proudly at the top of the hill. The monument is a significant tribute to the fallen soldiers from the region who served in various conflicts, and it provides a solemn and reflective space for visitors to pay their respects and honor their sacrifices. The memorial is well-maintained and features plaques, statues, and flags, adding to its historical significance.

Nice view over Albury at the war memorial lookout. Clean and well kept gardens. If you are looking for a short but strenuous climb start down the bottom on Dean Street and take the path up.

Good area to visit if you stay for couple of days in Albury. You can either hike up or drive all the way up here. Parking around the Monument. Can have eye-bird view of Albury from this hill. Probably best during sunset or sunrise.
Very well maintained with toilet facility and some tables and benches for resting or picnic.
There are walks starting from this hill too but we didnt do any.

Visited the Albury War Memorial up at Monument Hill in the afternoon, very warm there no shade at the Memorial or in the car parking area. It's a fitting Memorial to honour those who served our country, with lovely Hilltop views over Albury and surrounding areas. Has a toilet and car parks. Very well maintained with recent works in the area, you are able to drive there (a bit steep) or walk there using the paths which are well maintained. The Monument is visible from Albury also which is very nice and makes it easy to locate from the town. If you are in Albury it's a recommended visit and easy to get to.

A really thoughtful military monument that is well worth the visit. Do yourself a healthy favour and take the walk up the hill from the township (you can drive up if walking is not an option for you). As well as the monument itself you get some great views of the Albury township and surrounds.

A very peaceful, well kept and beautiful location, with some stunning views over Albury. An absolute must to visit when in the area, and especially good during sunset or sunrise. Parking is all around the monument in the centre, and there's views from all directions around the central monument, with a few steps leading down. Toilet facilities at the top of the hill too, and a wonderful place to visit.

Very well maintained with a nice view of the town. Good walk or can drive up.
The Albury Botanic Gardens, established in 1877, span across a vast area of 9.9 acres and boast an extensive collection of native and exotic plants. It also features a remarkable children's garden that is sure to impress the young ones. The gardens' circular walk provides easy access for everyone. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of their BBQ areas and picnic benches while enjoying the tranquil surroundings.
These gardens were really amazing, and although relatively small, they had so many different areas and a very impressive children's garden. The circular walk was lovely and was very accessible for everyone. Definitely worth visiting with small children, and there were toilets, BBQ areas and picnic benches within.

One of the best botanic gardens I have been into.
Although the size is relatively small as compared to others, but they successfully managed to design it very well, invested in many plants as you walk in. Good on you.
The only thing I would suggest is to renovate the old toilet facilities at the main entrance.

Lovely ...well worth a stop if your driving by,

This garden is free. You can park your car on the street for 2hours and it’s not very big. You can finish your tour within 1 hour. When I visit here it’s winter and leaves are falling. I believe it would be better if you visit here in spring.

A city’s botanic gardens are a good measure of its character. The Albury gardens are neat, beautiful, and well maintained. Small but totally adequate with a lovely range of trees and open grassy areas. Would be a great spot for a picnic and some lawn games.

The National Gallery of Australia is a modern architectural marvel featuring an extensive collection of Australian and international art, including a substantial aboriginal exhibit. The purpose-built gallery, located in the parliamentary precinct, showcases works from renowned artists throughout history. Notable pieces include Monet's Waterlilies, Sidney Nolan's Ned Kelly paintings, Salvador Dali's Lobster Telephone, Andy Warhol's Elvis print and Francis Bacon's triptych.
Been back a few times over the years and it’s always a great experience. Free entry to beautiful artworks and lots of it! Can spend all day in the free section and sculpture garden.
Didn’t visit a paid exhibition this time but recommend booking tickets for those online as we arrived upon open (10am) and Jeffrey Smart was booked out until 12:30pm.

We visited National Gallery of Australia and really enjoyed our visit. We were asked to lock our bags in the free lockers before being allowed entry. There are two floors of great art, ranging from nineteenth century till present. The star of the gallery is the Monet. It took us a couple of hours to browse the free galleries. A great place to view works of art. There is also a bookshop and cafe here.

It's surprisingly good with a great variety of art across time. Jackson Pollock, Sidney Nolan, and a few crazy weird pieces. The building itself is a marvel. I highly recommend doing the 1hr tour to get your bearings. Derek was engaging and enthusiastic. The gift ship was the usual rip-off. And why they charge for parking on a weekend is beyond me. Just greediness. Park at Bowen Park and walk around the lake. Also, security freaked out about my water bottle and gave me a paper bag to put it in?!
Overall, I'm happy I checked it out. 2-3hrs needed.

An interesting space that had a number of special exhibitions on display.
Largely seems to be a collection of modern art, with a focus on women artists and indigenous voices at the time of my visit.
You must pay to park, and there are a number of other interesting places nearby to visit. Likely not suitable for younger children.

Enjoy taking my small child who loves exploring all different types of art and then coming home to create their own.
Perfect place for a romantic date. ❤️
Also a nice place to enjoy some time to yourself or just enjoy the beauty of Canberra while experiencing art from around the world.
Amazing Indigenous Art exhibitions with lots of information on the culture and historical significance of the art.

I love the National Gallery of Australia! Free entry means no pressure to explore all the magnificent artwork inside and out. You usually need to book online.
Make sure you check out skyspace and the sculpture garden outside.
This holidays we attended a free kids art workshop which was wonderful.
I loved coming here when I had a baby - wide open space meant walking with a pram was easy. Toilets were very pleasant and there is a parents room.
I love that many of the exhibitions regularly change.
Occasionally exhibitions are laid exhibitions but these are well worth it and usually a special experience.
There is coffee at the entrance. Parking is easy but is now paid on Sundays.
Highly recommended!

Went to the Jeffery Smart exhibition at the NGA and it was absolutely glorious. Not too long that you got bored but not to short that you were wanting more.
It was nice to see the artist’s personal progression reflected through the stylistic choices of their work. It was also nice to see many of the same themes appear throughout the exhibition.
We were fortunate enough to speak to one of the volunteers who spoke through the exhibition with us, giving us a new perspective, moreover the motives of the artist.
Really enjoyed this exhibition and the NGA

The NGA hosted our wedding ceremony in April. We used the sculpture gardens near the Angel of the North and spilling over towards the Knot. I was so impressed with the service, from the moment of our first enquiry, through all my difficult bride questions, to the day of. We had staff on hand to pack up/down, serve drinks, provide support throughout the entire event, keep us on track and make sure everyone was happy and well looked after. The gallery itself looks FANTASTIC in our pictures, and that alone would have impressed me even without the fantastic service. I could not fault anything, and highly recommend them to any couple looking for a unique and beautiful venue for their wedding.

National institution with pleasant staff. Plenty of people about but parking was fine and the 'crowd' didn't interfere with the experience as the place still seemed empty.

Some very interesting pieces and exhibits, but too much of the place was between empty awaiting new exhibitions. Good stock of books in the shop, but nearly all the prints/posters were of artworks not in the museum at the time. Seems to me if you have active exhibitions and can produce prints etc. of them for sale, then they should be in the shop.

I have attended with my partner on a few occasions for the original daytime fixture and also the night Floriade which was quite weird .
Most of the time you’ll find a decent cue that moves along quickly . Plenty of amazing flower scapes to see , numerous vendors selling items and some really good food to be found around the grounds from a variety of mobile pop ups.
Lake Burley Griffin is on the southern perimeter of Floriade and there are some great walking paths .
Worth the effort but can get a bit too crowded hence the 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was amazed by its beauty. However, one thing that really stood out was the sheer number of Flying Foxes in the park! It was an unexpected sight, with way too many of them hanging around. But aside from this, the park itself is a stunning place to spend time in. The greenery, the serene atmosphere, and the well-maintained paths make it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisure. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat amidst nature. Just be ready for the Flying Foxes - they’re quite a sight!

The Australian War Memorial in Canberra is a stunning example of art-deco architecture and serves as a visual representation of the nation's gratitude for military sacrifice. This shrine was built to commemorate the 'war to end all wars', even though World War II had already broken out by the time it opened in 1941. The attached museum is exceptionally well-designed and covers Australia's military history comprehensively.
A fantastic Museum and war memorial. Would highly recommend attending if you are visiting Canberra. It is free to the public but you do need to go onto the website a book a time due to covid restrictions.

Massive place! Easy to get lost, really need a couple of days in here to see it all. We had a guided tour and our tour guide was a wonderful guy and very knowledgeable and friendly, was more than happy to take me back to the shrine of the unknown soldier and the hall of remembrance as I was late arriving and missed the start of the tour. There were a lot of building works going on when we visited unfortunately so the lift for my partner was out of service as she was in a wheelchair while we were visiting, they did have a mechanical stair crawler for wheelchairs but was very slow.
Would love to come back and spend more time next time

The War Memorial is a great way to remember the fallen and learn about the wars Australia was in. WWI, WWII, Vietnam war, Korean war and many more are included. There are countless artifacts and bits of information which tell visitors about Australia's part in the wars mentioned above. Unfortunately when I visited it was under renovation, although when it is done I will come again and see all the War Memorial has to offer.

One of the most stunning and striking places in all of Australia, the feeling are overwhelmingly sad but great to see the tribute and remembering those that sacrifice their lives for us from the ANZACS to the allies, nurses and anyone that fought in the war for Australia and New Zealand. The information and displays are incredible and intensely detailed, well preserved war artefacts and items belonging to all sides of the conflict and representing all the different divisions of war, the designs and layout is so well illustrated and easy to navigate for any ages and physical abilities. Plenty of helpful and friendly staff to assist you, group tours are free, the iconic poppy on the plaques for the fallen are must do and something from yourself to contribute and be apart of the memorial. I’ve already said a lot about this place, it’s a must visit at least once in your life time either you’re an Aussie/Kiwi or visiting the area, it’s FREE ENTRY and the views from the memorial are breathtaking looking onto Anzac Parade and Australian Parliament House (new and old), you can easily walk there and bus there, parking is available onsite and enjoy a relaxing coffee at their cafe with a whole lot of interesting information surrounding it. This place is literally for anyone absolutely no excuses not to visit doesn’t matter if you’re 8 or 88 years old!

Staff was so welcoming, all were well informed. Suggestions would be to have a few more seats around for people with mild disabilities as it is a huge area to cover. Our tour guide Scott was very well informed and very well spoken for people with hearing difficulties. Hands down one of the best places to visit in Canberra.

Great as usual but currently being enlarged so a lot of construction work going on. The guide said that at present only about 5% of their collection is on display so they desperately needed more space. Should be well worth the wait.
The Mount Ainslie Lookout offers a paved observation deck with breathtaking panoramic views of Canberra's landmarks such as the war memorial, airport, museum, and lake. Visitors can enjoy a beautiful scenic experience while learning about distant landmarks through informative plaques. The lookout also provides an opportunity for hiking and witnessing stunning sunsets in the mountains. While there is no toilet facility available, there is a drinking water station on top of the mountain.
The best place to get a birds eye view of canberra. Visit during sunset for some remarkable views. No public transport access. There is a walking trail that gets you near to the war memorial.Would recommend a hike if you are in the mood for it.

Hiking is recommended.

There is also a handy drinking water station on top of the mountain.

At the summit of Mount Ainslie, we can see the spectacular 360 degrees view of Canberra. Very beautiful. Feel therapeutic and so serene.

The Mount Ainslie Lookout in Canberra is simply fantastic! The view is breathtaking, and the best part is how quick and easy it is to get there. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the panoramic scenes make the journey entirely worth it. Five stars for an outstanding lookout that combines accessibility with a spectacular view!

This is a great lookout across Canberra, I recommend watching the sunset in the afternoon. You can walk up to the lookout or drive up. Note if you do go for the sunset view and you want to set up a camera. I'd get to the look out a little earlier as it can get a little busy.

A classic lookout for the Canberra experience. Gives you a very good line-up of the War Memorial and Parliament House along with the surrounding hills. We did not stay for the sunset, but I would imagine this would be quite good.

After an incredibly disappointing trip up to the Black Mountain lookout to get a view over Canberra (every single vantage point was so overgrown with trees that there was nowhere clear) we decided to try Mt Ainslie. Well was THAT a good move! More lovely views than you could poke a stick at! Paths and steps to different spots. Would perhaps suggest that arm rails might be handy on the stone steps. I get around just fine: but it’s amazing how vulnerable you feel without something to hang onto when you’re on such hard, uneven surfaces. Public areas tidy and well maintained: ample parking.

Must visit spot when you visit Canberra
Easy-moderate hike which will take 45min-1hr
Try to come here at dawn so you experience sunset and watch the city light up

Great view! I love Canberra. It's so peaceful - even more so when looking out over this view.

We visited this place and enjoyed the night view of Canberra city. There is ample parking and a short walk down two short flights of steps to the lookout point. It was windy and pretty cold in late September when we visited.

Probably one of the better walks in Canberra I've been on. Super easy start to the walk or the drive if you're so inclined. Doesn't have much shade when walking, however a gorgeous walk that is well worth the 45 minute up the top. Water bubbles at the top are super appreciated! If visited canberra, a must visit!

Beautiful scenic experience overall. Worth going. we could able to see war memorial, airport, museum, lake, almost whole Canberra from there. I wish there would be a big binoculars so we could enjoy more. There were heaps of butterfly I have seen these many first time in my life. Enchanted experience when decent from top view point using track. I went there in 3rd of Jan and we could also able to see rabbits, mouse,

It's a lookout point from where you can see the Canberra. The parliament looks stunning from here. It's a kind of hill station where you don't need AC or fans. Hill stations always have a calling specially where people strongly believe it is there's. So rubbish or dirty is out of dictionary. Eye candy.

One of the best mountain top viewing platforms in Canberra.
Best place to see the sunset in mountains & Parliament House, war museum plus other tourist locations..
Hiking from war museum is also a nice idea ..
Highly recommended

A beautiful spot that allows for almost 360 views of Canberra. Free parking is available at the very top, so it's incredible accessible, especially for a pram / baby / toddler) . Definitely recommended!

Beautiful lookout for overlooking the parliament house. Saw some beautiful colourful birds in the bushland .

Fantastic view over Canberra. The hike is fairly short (about 1h each way) and well worth it.
There's a water fountain along with an ice-cream truck at the top.

Wonderful views of the capital city and surrounding areas. You can see all the main landmarks from up here, including a great view from behind the War Memorial all the way down ANZAC Parade to Old Parliament House and the stunning architecture of Parliament House rising behind it.
The only disappointment was the absence of public toilets at such an iconic public place when we were there with a bus full of school students. That’s an oversight that local government needs to address,

Obviously, Mt Ainslie is one of the recommended places to visit when you are in Canberra. If you want to enjoy the entire city, definitely here is the view... Stunning views of the Australian Capital are waiting for you to explore and take pics.

Really great place to get a birds eye view of Canberra. Good amount of car parking spots available, and there was also a small bus selling Ice Cream and other assorted snacks.

The best time to Visit is early in the morning or during sunset. We loved the spot. If you don't have time to look around Canberra on a one day trip you can head to the Ainslie lookout for the best view of Canberra ( The nation's Capital).

Wow, this is my second visit to CBR, and can't believe this isn't the first place people recommend to visit. Aim for 10 min before sunset plus 1hour after. Take some snacks and just observe how the world change around you. With an amazing view.
One of the best experiences, except sunset on Table Mountain South Africa

Iconic view of the Parliamentary Triangle and the city generally. The lookout has been renamed for Marion Mahony Griffin. Good information boards here too so you can see how far the vision for Canberra changed from the original concept.
Martin Witchard — Google review
It's not just a scenic lookout but offers a panoramic view of Canberra where you can see the Parliament House, American Memorial, Lake, and mountain ranges, among others.
Just a short drive from the city centre.

The views over Canberra are great from here. Parking is available and the road is well signposted. The only negative is the ice-cream truck blaring music in this scenic area. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Canberra.

This is an amazing estate with excellent food. Having dined around midday on a Saturday, the staff were kind, the service fast, and the food had generous portions with great quality.
The building itself was within a rustic vineyard, nestled in the hills, with an outlook of Lake George (which had water in it at the time of our dining!)
We had smiles all around after our time here, and we thank Lerida Estate for their hospitality. :)

Very pleasant lunch - indeed the squid was a great entree. The views are stunning and lovely to see so much water in Lake George. Main / salads were also fresh & lovely - though lamb & duck were a bit over cooked.

We loved out visit to Lerida Estate Winery. Absolute beautiful place to visit and the team were great. Highly recommend stopping here if you're driving past. Our wine tasting host, Jacka, was very great. He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed their lunch, except me. I unfortunately ordered the Pork Belly, which I usually love, but it was like eating shoe-leather. Whoever cooked it doesn't know how. Such a shame.

A gem of a place to drop in for lunch and do some wine tasting. We spent a couple of hours here and had a great time. Alex was amazing at talking us through our tastings. And lunch was light and fresh and super tasty. Highly recommend the calamari. They offer some unique wines and the view out over the vineyards and Lake George offers great photo opportunities.

We had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting session yesterday, and it was an absolute delight! The venue was breathtaking, providing a picturesque backdrop to savor some incredible wines. The staff's warm and welcoming demeanor enhanced the experience, making it both enjoyable and informative. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a wonderful blend of excellent wines and a hospitable atmosphere.

After a last minute decision to go to a winery for lunch, I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed the food and the 2021 Pinot Noir. Would recommend & looking forward to our next visit 🍷

I've driven passed this place a million times and never gone in, what a hidden gem this place is.
It's just off the highway but feels like you're up at the Hunter or Mudgee with the vineyard vista with Lake George in the background.
The food is well prepared and delicious, attentive staff and some great wine.
We will definitely be stopping over again!

Booked in a lunch for our 10 year anniversary of dating to propose, and the day couldn't have been more perfect. The view, the food, the wine and the weather all lined up just for our special day. The staff went out of their way to make it even more memorable for the both of us and we're extremely grateful. We are already planning a return to this fantastic spot.

A really pleasant winery to visit for a long lunch or lazy afternoon away from Canberra. Not too far to drive. Wonderful and friendly staff. Food is absolutely fantastic. Whilst I don’t drink, the reports from my friends about the wine was that it is amazing. Highly recommended this place.

Great little spot for a quick wine as you’re passing through the area. It’s a low key winery, nothing fancy or pretentious. It’s family friendly, with lots of kids around.
The outdoor area could do with a revamp.
Adam Zed — Google review
Dropped in on our way home to Sydney from Thredbo, we thought we’d just have a look but ended up doing a lovely tasting of all the wines on offer. Our host was Theo who was very friendly, helpful and had some great information and thoughts on the wines on tasting as well as their other reserve wines. The location and tasting room is lovely and the restaurant looks great. There’s a charge per person for tastings but it’s fully refundable on any wine purchases. They really do have some lovely and interesting wines especially the estate Chardonnay, Shiraz and a particularly good Syrah. We were there late on a non school holiday Monday and it was nice an quiet for us but it can get quite busy on weekends.
