It is located in Bagerhat district in southern Bangladesh which is in khulna . It is about 5 kilometres from the main town of Bagerhat.
In the middle of the 15th century, a Muslim colony was founded in the mangrove forest of the Sundarbans, near the coast in the Bagerhat division by a saint-General, named khan jahan Ali He preached in an affluent city during the reign of Sultan nasiruddin mahmud shah, then known as 'Khalifatabad'.Khan Jahan adorned this city with more than a dozen mosques, the ruins of which are focused around the most imposing and largest multi-domed mosques in Bangladesh, known as the Shait-Gumbad Masjid (160'×108').
The construction of the mosque was started in 1442 and it was completed in 1459. The mosque was used for prayers, and also as a madrasha and assembly hall.
The mosque has 77 squat domes with 7 four-sided pitched Bengali domes in the middle row. The vast prayer hall, although provided with 11 arched doorways on east and 7 each on north and south for ventilation and light, presents a dark and somber appearance inside. It is divided into 7 longitudinal aisles and 11 deep bays by a forest of 60 slender stone columns, from which springs rows of endless arches, supporting the domes. 1.8 m (6 ft) thick, slightly tapering walls and hollow and round, almost detached corner towers, resembling the bastions of fortress, each capped by small rounded cupolas, recall the Tughlaq architecture of Delhi. The western wall has eleven mihrabs on the interior where ten are blind and the central one is projected on the exterior. The mosque represents wonderful archeological beauty which was the signature in the 15th Century.

Kalna - The Temple Town
There are so many places nearby Kolkata for an 1 day tour, we miss out often. One of them is Kalna in East Burdwan district. The town, located on the west bank of the Bhagirathi, a distributary of the Ganges, is rich in culture, architecture and nature. Kalna, also known has Ambika Kalna was a frontier city of the Tamralipta kingdom during the 7th century. The town reached its apex during the late 18th century under the patronage of the Maharajas of Bardhaman, who built several temples with beautiful terracotta ornamentations. Thus, the town houses a heritage of 200 years as most of the architecture was constructed in 18th century AD.
The main attractions are as follows:
1. Siddheshwari temple
2. Nava Kailash or 108 Shiv Mandirs
3. Within Rajbari Temple complex:-
a) Krishna Chandra Mandir
b) Lalji Mandir
c) Pratapeshvara Mandir
d) Ras Manch
4. Sri Chaitanya Temple
5. Pathuria Mahal Ghat
6. Mahisasurmardini Mandir
One day tour is very much possible. I had travelled in my Nexon EV, reached there in 2hr 05 minutes with a short tea break of 15 minutes. Started my journey at 10.40 am, reached there at 12.45 pm. Roaming within the town to cover the above spots completed by 5 pm including a lunch break of 30 minutes. Spent another hour at the bank of Bhagirathi and started return journey at 6 pm. Reached home at 9.00 pm with huge traffic congestion in route. Total traveling was 199 km which can be done without any need of external charging.(In case of EV - Electric Vehicle).
Though I'll advise all to go at morning hours as most of the temples remain closed in afternoon and reopen at 4 pm. I found them open as I travelled there on the day of Saraswati Puja, the biggest festival celebrated in Kalna.
Route followed:
1. Kolkata Airport
2. Belghoria Expressway
3. Rajchandrapur Toll plaza
4. Before Dankuni at Right side - Delhi Road
5. Mogra - Ask local people as there is a confusion due to the flyover.
6. Guptipara
7. Kalna
8. Returned back via same route

Bandel Church is one of the most prominent and famous churches in India. You can easily reach here by hiring an autorickshaw from Bandel railway station. The fare is ₹20. The entrance to this magnificent church is free of cost and it's open to all. Once you enter the church premises, you can hear the calling of sellers who are selling candles. There is a large open ground outside the church and the ground itself reflects divinity with various statues of Jesus installed at various places. The inside of the church is simply breathtaking, in terms of cleanliness, paintings on the walls and other pertinent attractions. Photography is permitted outside the prayer hall of the church. There is another place of worship where you can reach by climbing the stairs. Near the entrance of the church, you will find a souvenir shop selling various products pertaining to Bible and Jesus Christ. I would rate this spectacular church 5 🌟 out of 5. Must visit. ⛪😊

I attended the church from 9:00am in Bengali. Its a huge place and under huge maintenance. The church is surrounded with huge garden along with many statutes of god and mother mery. There are sharing rooms available for pilgrims under special permission. Car parking facilities only of the people of the same church. Others who are willing to avail car parking must be bringing a written authorisation notice from the own parish.

Sorry to say, I didn't find any similarities with my childhood memories. The playground has been turned into garden which is kept locked, there is no place for children. most of the galleries were closed, even couldn't visit the prayer hall. Boundaries are everywhere, no tint of green. Covering a place with glossy marbles may make it photogenic, but doesn't appeal to the mind. In my childhood, the church was accessible to everyone, we used to go there for walk and play. Now high walls have taken away that joy also.

Founded in 1599, the church is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary (Nossa Senhora do Rosário). The original church building was destroyed by the Moors in 1632, but the present structure was built in 1661 by Gomez de Soto. Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a 19th-century Hindu temple located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was built by Rani Rashmoni and is dedicated to Devi Bhavatarini, a form of Goddess Kali believed to bring liberation to her devotees. The temple complex follows the classic Nava-Ratna style of Bengali architecture and features ornate spires.
Very beautiful serene temple which has a extraordinary calming effect. A must visit.
The river just behind the temple looks wonderful and clear.
P.S.- Keep you mobile phones in your bag or else you will be asked to get rid of it before entering the temple (during the security check).

One of the best religious places in the entire West Bengal. Clean & well maintained ambience inside of the premises. You just have to keep your smartphones, cameras, shoes etc. outside before entering the main area of devotion.

Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata holds an undeniable spiritual allure, resonating with devotees and tourists alike. However, the temple experience can be hindered by extended waiting times and the absence of permission to use cameras within the premises.
The temple’s grandeur and historical significance are remarkable, but the long lines can test one’s patience. Visitors might encounter extensive queues, especially during peak hours or on significant religious occasions. This waiting period might deter from the otherwise enriching experience.
Additionally, the restriction on cameras within the temple premises limits the ability to capture and preserve the visit through personal photographs, a disappointing limitation for many travelers seeking to capture their spiritual journey.
Despite these drawbacks, the temple’s architectural beauty, religious significance, and the spiritual atmosphere make it a destination worth visiting for those seeking a connection with Hindu spirituality and a deeper understanding of Kolkata’s cultural heritage.

A place of devotion and visited by thousands of devotees. The temple is well maintained and they even take security quite seriously. Many many years ago it was quite chaotic but now everything is orderly and systematic. Reaching there is easy too with the Metro going up to Dakshineswar.

Wonderful arrangement for puja and meditation. There are counters outside to deposit your shoes and bags. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the main premises and these too have to be deposited. Car parking facility available. Neat and clean temple compound.

It's crowded during the weekends, early morning, weekday will be better for visiting.
Truly magnificent.
Swami Ramakrishna spent 16 years in one of the building. The miracle of this temple is also mentioned in Autobiography of the yogi.

Truly a pious place for devotees, well-governed and systematically organized by the staff.
A review will not rationalize this divine place, a real-time visit to this shrine will make difference in who has faith in the supreme God.
You can visit the shrine by water, road and metro rail, however, a boat ride is always the best choice for all tourists, and the extravagant view of the Ganges will charm everyone.
God Bless !!!

Best Mandir in Kolkata in terms of Administration. I visited many times this place. As many people visit this place for worship there is long que always, so it's advisable to visit the place with time in hand. But the crowd management is of very good quality. As there is ample space in the mandir campus crowd is adjusted there. There are mainly 3 lines. in 2 lines you can only see side face of Ma & in one que you can see Ma from the front.
There is no "Panda" concept.
I must raise one point here what I saw there. The candles, alta or sindur what people bring for worship is thrown by the pujaries (brahmin) near the stair of the main mandir, which is then collected by the local people & resold. So waste management should be more proper.
Mandir is well maintained & clean.

One of its kind. Whenever I visit Kolkata, a visit to dakshineshwar Kali temple is must. The vibes are different. These days mobile phones are not allowed inside but when I last visited 7 years back, they were allowed. Few of the pictures attached shows inside of the temple from 7 years back.
Even outside the temple you can enjoy river side views or enjoy a boat ride. There's like this temple in North India as far as I know.

A large religious place with large area and so many devotees. Very well cleaned and we'll maintained place..a beautiful riverside of Ganges was also there. And the main thing for which it is famous for is goddess Kali temple...on normal day average mob can be found but on..some special religious day..it reaches it's high. Lovely place to visit..even if does not belong to the religion.

A very peaceful religious place. You can just sit here beside the bank of river Ganges, and feel relieved. And after that the most wondering thing is the temple’s structure. One of the best Kali temple to visit in Kolkata, well maintained and directly metro connected, there are so many parshad shops available but one thing I don’t like, temple priest always ask for dakshna if you don’t give then they will not pass your parshad to Kali mata which is rude. Apart of that everything is good there just visit early morning to skip lines and hot weather

The temple is very well maintained. A little confusing around though.
Here are some tips that can help:
1. Visit with comfortable footwear that you can slip on easily. Upon arrival you have to deposit your footwear and phones at a desk.
The charges are minimal and they give you a receipt for the same.
2. Carry your own water bottle. There’s a large area that you have walk around on barefoot. Helps to stay hydrated.
3. Can get crowded so try to plan early mornings or early evenings.
4. Must visit the Hooghly River bank situated on the left (once you step out of the main temple area).
Ask for directions, you can get confused.

Belur Math is a place for spiritual reflection and cultural exploration. It is well-decorated, well-maintained, and well-organized. Its architectural beauty and silent ambiance will mesmerize you. What is particularly significant is that a separate ramp has been created at the back of the main temple for physically challenged individuals. A wonderful place if you are planning to spend some time in peace and reflect on your spirituality.
It is peaceful and special on a spiritual level. Definitely recommended to visit. The "Prasad" they provide at a very low cost or even without any cost is really delicious.
The whole complex is very well maintained. The place is very clean and is surrounded by trees some of which are more than a couple hundred years old. The place is very calm and inviting.
The staff are very nice and helpful. The priests are warm and welcoming. The riverside temples and the riverside deck as a whole are maintained very well.
There is no clutter or foul smells like in many places. Many buildings are still under construction.
Only problem is the time limit. If you are planning to spend much time here, I will recommend you to start your journey early and reach here as early as possible as the place closes at about 11:00 and remains closed till the evening.
The main temple is really beautiful and peaceful. There is a policy of strict silence. The floors are very clean and perfect for meditation. In conclusion, Belur is the perfect place to visit atleast once in a lifetime for everyone. It is perfect to reflect on yourself and your spirituality.

Many also volunteer at the convent, following in Mother Teresa's footsteps by serving those in need.
Not many footfall but very peaceful and positive vibe place. Must visit if can, specially better if start your day with this place.

Had a amazing experience in mother Teresa house. It’s praying time I am not Christian so I don’t know too much about it. But people are very friendly and helpful. They greeted us nicely and show us all the places and open the museum for us. Very humble people must to go one time.

The mother house of Missionaries of Charity. I thought it will be a huge building. I thought the visitors will be flowing to this place. No. It wasn't like that. A less known place in Culcutta. Or the gem which is not visible for all. That's it. That's how this place is. You will never find any pomp or decorations. The place where this great, strong lady rests. It will simply make you aware about the beauty of life, the beauty of leaving everything. And yes still the visitors board is pointed as Mother is "IN" there.

Visited the place just to marvel at the selfless service the great mother rendered to needy and the poor without expecting anything. The tomb of the Holy Mother is a heaven of peace like her. She continues to guide the selfless serving sisters. The museum devoted to mother's life is a must see. It depicts the life of mother in detail including her being conferred sainthood by the Pope. We were visibly moved by the service rendered by the missionaries of Charity. The sisters are representatives of God.

I would never imagine myself at the very house where Mother Theresa was laid to rest. An incredible selfless women who helped the poorest of the poor in Calcutta. Grateful to meet Sister Lily Theresa who gave us her time to show us all of Mother Theresa’s personal belonging kept in a protected room. Images of her tending to the sick and frail children will forever be imprinted in my mind. “Where there is love there is peace, joy and unity” Mother Theresa
Things to consider: there are time slots (morning and afternoon) to visit the house. Don’t bother calling as no one is available to pick up the call. All of the sisters are very friendly and kind especially towards children. Everyone must wash their hands and take off their shoes when entering. There is no donation box for those who want to contribute. You can either donate in person with a local ID, and if you’re a foreigner , you must present a passport otherwise donation online can be done.

The final resting place of mother is open. Her room has fixed hours and there’s also a museum containing relics and gifts. There’s no charge but you can give a donation if you choose

Today I visit this place. I love the concept of door bell here, pull the string and the door bell will ring. Wonderful place and feel blessed to come at this place. Spent sometime in front of Mother Tomb. While looking at her belongings she used, her handwriting, her room where she used to live, I can experience and feel the presence of Mother Teresa between us at this place.
I will visit again whenever I came to Kolkata.

It was the house of mother Teresa. She was born in Skopje on 26 August 1910. Though by birth she was albanian but by citizenship she was an Indian and a catholic Christian.
In the mother's house the visitors are allowed to see three places which are the tomb of mother Teresa, museum and her room. You can visit other rooms as well if you have permission. The information provided in the museum is really interesting and informative.

Eden Gardens is a renowned cricket stadium located in Kolkata, India. It is the largest cricket stadium in the country and the second largest in the world, with a seating capacity of 66,000. Situated in the park area of Maidan, it is surrounded by other sports venues and landmarks such as the Kolkata Race Course and Victoria Memorial.
World's one of the best and biggest cricket stadium which can house 100,000 spectators is the most favourite stadium of many a genius cricketers worldwide. This is the place where Sourav Ganguly have grown up playing. It has provided some of the best test matches in Indian cricket history. I can go on and on talking about this stadium. My advice is, apart from watching matches here, also one should come and visit the place on a non-playing day to see the grandeur of it.
EDEN GARDENS, without doubt, is the " Mecca of cricket ". Ask any international cricketer from any part of the globe who has played on this fabled venue - and he will vouch for the title.
For the Calcuttans ( Kolkattans ? ) like us it's the ' neighbour's envy, owner's pride ' ! Of course, it is on of the greatest attraction of Kolkata, particularly for the sports lovers. It is the world-famous cricket ground in Kolkata, just besides the magnificient river Ganges and near to Esplanade - the heart of Kolkata. It is the nostalgic venue of many great and historic Test cricket battles, as also of many thrilling Limited Over matches and Tournaments. Who can ever forget the glorious moments of the record partnership between Dravid and Laxman on this ground, or the historic Test win against Mike Brearly's England, or the inspired fight of Team India against the mighty Australia of Steve Wagh under the stewardship of our beloved Dada? And of course, the greatest sensation of all - the thunderous applause of one lakh-strong crowd when Sunny or Vishy steps down on the ground to bat or when Sachin completes another century. The sporty crowd is equally generous to appreciate any great batting, bowling or fielding effort displayed by the visiting opponents.
Indeed, watching a cricket match at the Eden Gardens is a life time experience and amemory to cherish forever !

Best atmosphere, cricket loving crowd with utmost love and knowledge of the game. I attended SA vs AUS semifinal, and even as a neutral, Eden Gardens put on a spectacle cheering every fours and sixes and wickets. It is widely acknowledged to be one of the most iconic cricket stadiums in the world. It has been called “cricket’s answer to the Coliseum. It has a reputation of staging the most passionate and vocal crowd and has almost become like a place of pilgrimage for most international cricketers. It played host to the iconic India-Australia Test series in 2001 wherein VVS Laxman scored a glorious 281 which remains the highest score at the ground. The pitch at Eden Gardens has traditionally been on the slower side and good for batting, assisting spin bowlers very early.

The Eden Gardens is renowned for its beauty and passionate fans and I experienced all of it when I watched the Semi Finals of the World Cup this year. It was an almost houseful stadium and the crowd didn't disappoint. I enjoyed every moment of it. The hospitality and facilities were admirable. Some of the shots I clicked are given below and at times (I am going to give the most cliched statement) it almost didn't feel like I was watching a match in India, it felt like I was at Sydney, or in London at the Lord's. Victoria Memorial, a grand white marble museum, was constructed between 1906 and 1921 in honor of Queen Victoria. Commissioned by Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India at the time, it was intended to be a center for intellectual enlightenment rather than just a symbol of British power. The memorial houses exhibitions on Kolkata's history and features a soaring central chamber and the Calcutta Gallery inside.
Victoria Memorial is a British-era structure built entirely of white marble. A 16-ft-tall bronze statue, the figure of the Angel of Victory, stands atop the grand building. It’s mounted on ball bearings & revolves with the wind.
Victoria Memorial is the signature building of Kolkata, which was once the capital of British-run India. It's another example of the intriguing mix of Indian and European architectural influences.

Friends, lovers, families all come here and spend time like themselves. One can enjoy the wonderful art scene in the tranquil green environment. There is drinking water and toilet facilities. The time period is 10am - 5 pm (winter)
and 10am - 6pm ( Summer).

Visiting the Victoria Memorial in Kolkata was like stepping into a time capsule of grandeur and history. The majestic architecture and sprawling gardens create a captivating ambiance. The museum inside is a treasure trove of artifacts, offering a fascinating journey through India's colonial past. The iconic white marble structure is a testament to architectural brilliance, and the surrounding lawns provide a peaceful retreat. A must-visit destination that beautifully preserves the legacy of a bygone era, the Victoria Memorial is a cultural gem in the heart of Kolkata

The entry fee is ₹50 if you wish to go inside the monument. It has a display about India's freedom struggle and about the freedom fighters. When you enter the main hall it looks so beautiful especially when you lift your head and see the dome. There are 2 floors in the building. At evening time there is a light and sound show around 6:30pm for which you need to buy the ticket separately.

It's a beautiful place. But I visited it right after the Christmas so it was very crowded. Apart from the crowd it is a very beautiful place. The paintings and other art works are explained properly also they have guides and all. The greenery is very eye pleasing. If you are interested in history and likes museum you would like this place. A basic place for couples to hang out... there is a pond too which is also very pretty. My experience here was nice would like to revisit sometime but when there won't be this kuch crowd.

This place has my heart. The place is super hygienic and also the ambience is very soothing and good.Although there is a problem regarding the ticket counter. Only two counters are working and online payment is not available .If it is available too, the crowd is too much that we have to wait in a queue for the same. They provide different tickets for entering the garden and for the memorial. The garden is well maintained and it is good for having a good evening and for dates also.Inside the memorial we can see many things regarding British rule and also there is first floor showing the freedom fighters and the story of independence. Overall the place is very good and a must visit place in kolkata

Greatest heritage of all time… amazing wonder… the architecture and the beauty of the sculptures are just amazing….also it has big museums inside…where you will be able to know and watch the ancient methods and weapons used in king times….
Also the surroundings are just superb and you can just sit and have a peace of mind.
Garden area is big and also has a water reservoir beside and you can sit beside it for a calm atmosphere.

The place is one of the best historical monuments in Kolkata, SORRY say India.
The garden outside the hall is very beautiful.
I especially want to take attention towards the cleanliness of the venue.
The spot is also a big contributer in economy as 'the spot of foreigners' we can call it.
No worry to say just looking like a wow.
Come and give a visit for only 50/- rupees.
The place is worth it.
Thanks.

I am very happy to have the opportunity to visit the more than 100 year old structure. It still commemorates Queen Victoria and her reign during the English period in Calcutta, India. By visiting here you can learn about the history of the Indian subcontinent before/after 1921. The ticket fee here is Rs 50 for Indian citizens, Rs 100 for SAARC countries and Rs 500 for other countries. Sitting in the grounds of the museum, you can enjoy the natural environment of the museum and its surroundings. Around the Victoria Museum there are four ponds with tools for sitting.
Note: The museum grounds have wheelchair access but the museum does not.

Lighting and sound shows in Bengali and English are held here every day except on weekends. The history of India and the history of the creation of Bangladesh after the division of Bengal are all in this 45 minute show.
A very nice and clean environment.

Baba Taraknath Temple is a revered Hindu shrine dedicated to the deity Shiva and serves as a significant pilgrimage site. The temple can be easily accessed by train from Howrah to Tarakeswar, with several options available throughout the day. However, visitors should be wary of individuals who may try to deceive them on their way to the temple.
A very nice temple went on Wednesday 27th December luckily it was not crowded and had good darshan. I was so lucky that I had darsan 2 times at the same time when I went inside.
One thing I would like to share when u reach the temple u will find lots of shopkeepers who will ask u to come to the shop and put ur chappals and shoes in the shop and buy sweets and other Puja material to offer god and they will take to other shops were they will ask you to buy holy water can for jal abhishek and then they will take u to the panda who will demand money like rs1100 and if u gave rs100 than they will leave u alone and ask u to go inside own and do Puja ,don't fall in trap of these guys all r cheater, if u spend some time you will have darshan.
Everything is costly there and outside the temple, hotels food is horrible I had that food and got severe headache, loose motions so plz carry your own food and snacks.

Mandir is good but the environment is Not quite good. The priest will try to loot you. Don't go with the flow , choose the minimum amount. They will insist but don't accept.

Mandir is good.there are so many trains available from howrah to tarakeswar from morning and the journey will take 1hour and 45mins. There are some public who will guide you to the mandir from station but don't listen them they are fooling common people . Worship materials like water , flower, candles are very costly. Food was very bad. I must say please carry your food and worship materials for puja. Idol of shiva was very beautiful and would catch the eye.

The Taraknath temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva worshiped as Taraknath, is a major pilgrimage spot in the town of Tarakeswar, West Bengal, India. Built in 1729, the temple is an atchala structure of Bengal temple architecture with a 'natmandir' in front. Close by are the shrines of Kali and Lakshmi Narayan. Dudhpukur, a tank to the north of the Shiva temple is believed to fulfil the prayers of those taking a dip in it.

The famous temple of Lord Shiva is worshiped as Baba Tarakanath hence the name of the temple is Tarakeswar temple and also the name of the place is Tarakeswar. Shravan month in Bengal is father's birth month. So most devotees come here for puja. Walking distance from Tarkeswar railway station.
Pilgrims take a holy dip in the famous milk pond before the offered puja. Everyone should avoid worshipers called pandas. They will demand unnecessary money for offering pooja and darshan where no payment is required for darshan. The temple floor is always slippery due to water and mud so one has to walk carefully.

We visited Baba Taraknath Temple of Tarakeswar on Monday, 07th. November, 2022.
As per local legends, the temple was built by Raja Bharamalla Rao to discover a Linga in the jungles near Tarakeswar. The temple was later built around the Swayambhu Linga (self-manifested) referred as Baba Taraknath in 1729 AD.
Pilgrims visit the temple throughout the year, especially on Mondays. But thousands of pilgrims visit Tarakeswar on the occasions of 'Shivaratri' and 'Gajan', the former taking place in Phalgun (Feb-March) while the latter lasts for five days ending on the last day of Chaitra (mid-April). The month of Sravana (mid-July to mid-August) is auspicious for Shiva when celebrations are held on each Monday.
If you offer Puja here you have to go through a Pujari who will complete all formalities of Puja offerings.
But if you wish to visit & watch the Swayambhu Linga and offer Ganges water on it on Mondays you have to join in a mass gathering moving towards the main temple under much pressure and follow a unplanned & unmanaged system up to getting out of the temple and there is every possibility to become hurt or sick. The temple committee must look after this and make single queues which will move in a serpentine style and there should be
securities in the only gate who will allow some 5 to 10 persons at a time to enter and after their exit again allow 5 to 10 persons to enter.
Otherwise there is possibility for occurrence of accident, sickness, injury in the prevailing system.
Request the Mandir Committee to make a perfect system by which the place will become more attractive.

Went to Tarakeshwar temple today. It seems the Pandits are running money making Racket alongwith the shopkeepers and Security personnels.
It's just a play of money here. The devotees are treated very rudely by the administrative personnels. It's torturous to go here. There is no proper handling of the crowd by Management. My Dress got torn in tussle to see BABA.
Let Baba Bholanath remain in my heart and in my belief. Don't need any temple to feel him. My 4 star is only for my almighty father, Baba TARAKNATH and 0 for others.

I had visited this place by two wheeler. I was wondering if there is a proper parking facility but didn't find any. When I reached the place one guy from a shop asked me to park it infront of his shop and asked me to keep our shoes there for FREE! Then he asked us to take flowers and Prasad from his shop and charged ₹100 for small one. I had to agree as my two wheeler was there for security reasons.
Then he was taking us to priest so that now it will be his turn to scam us in the name of darshan and Pooja. However, we politely refused. We made darshan on our own.
Keeping that aside, this is one of the best place to visit and offer prayers to Lord Shiv 🙏. Take a holy drip near pond before darshan. Try to visit this place very early in the morning. Men are not allowed to enter with shirts/t-shirts for darshan. This place is managed by female security officers.

Good place for hindu devotees. Little bit congested area. Wheelchair are not accessible. Lack of proper line maintenance can be observed here. Darsen is closed from 9.00AM to 11.00 AM in the morning. Too much gathering observed in holiday, specially in Chaitra, baisakh and shravan months.

In West Bengal we have a prevalent Krishna culture...but the most prominent place of Shiva worship is definitely taraknath temple in tarakeswar...the temple is located very near from the station and pretty well maintained...if we can go early in the morning we can see the original linga..before they put the silver hood on top of it...the temple open around 5 AM in morning...the arati in morning and evening is really powerful ones...we stayed at Hanuman choti nearby and had a early morning darshan as well...i strongly recommend visiting and meditating in this place to feel the energy of Shiva🙏🏻

Awesome places huge difference between digha and Mandarmani.
To me mandarmani is dream place before I didn't love sea so much but after seeing mandarmani i fall in love with this place it's awesome with the beauty of nature and sea goddess. There is a time where the sea current hits the resort and sitting in front of the resort and seeing it enjoying a lot.
The place is not so much full of people thou tourist are visiting this place there are few shops in the mandarmani market the most important thing about mandarmani is that maximum resort hotel cottage are infront of the sea so we don't have to walk far for the same.
It's a huge beach with full of red crabs which making this beach beautiful last i want to say I Love you Mandarmani.

I have visited almost every beach situated under West Bengal territory. I didn't liked the most famous digha beach for its crowd, and i loved tajpur, shankarpur beach for its solitude. Mandarmani beach lies in between them. This beach is not too much crowdy but not very much lonely too. Beach is very long and i walked through it for hour. I think the beach where the small market and manasa mandir is situated is very much busy and this portion of beach is wide, where shops providing food and other services to relax, you can do speet boat ride here.
After that towards tajpur this beach become narrow but as it less crowdy so it's more beautiful but at the mohona this beach gets wide again and there is again some sea side stall built to provide sea food, drinks and more. Overall it was a good stay here.

Best place to visit with family and friends. Mandarmani is less populated than famous Digha beach. Maximum resorts and hotels are near the sea beach. During high tide the water level comes to the edge and water remains far away from the edge when it is low tide. The beach are clean and beautiful. It is a ideal place to spend your quality time watching the sea from your hotel.
Food quality is good, resorts are very good. Sunrise and sunset is awesome. Wonderful experience, go and enjoy your life.
To reach here best option is by a car. You can avail the bus facilities from Kolkata or Howrah and your stop is Chaulkhola bus stop, from here take a auto rickshaw towards Mandarmani. 180 km. from Kolkata city. Digha to Mandarmani distance 30 km. only.

The beach is a great retreat for fun and relaxation. During low tides it is usually much broader and is very much accessible but during high tides the waters reaches the walls of adjacent resorts. There are multiple resorts right adjacent to the beaches having private accessible beach parts. There are multiple fun activities that are conducted on the beach.
Aritra Dutta — Google review
Beautiful beach with less crowd as compared to digha hence a very calm and beautiful place.
Maximum number of resorts are found here starting within the range of ₹2500 and above
This beach is best to spend time with your loved ones ❤️
Must visit - Mohana ( confluence of river and sea) located near about 4km.
Try taking a Toto ( electric rickshaw) that will take you from the beach. You will enjoy it. try to bargain as they charge 200-250 for that 4km .
Do adventure rides such as speed boat as well as banana ride or maybe dirt racing bike ride

I would say It's a beautiful place to visit not only the palace but the gardening the beautiful outside Greenery of the palace the flowers 🌺🌹 and the weather on the very day we stayed was just stunning and adding to the joyous mood.clean and beautifully maintained .But it's a personal view that the rooms lack the heritage a bit as false ceiling and Modern furnitures are somehow toned down the flavour of the rajbari already the interiors but it was clean and equipped with all modern amenities no doubt. And also we wanted to explore the main rajbari but it was not allowed by the protocol. Its my personal request or suggestion if they could make a special arrangement on a particular time to visit the main building of the Rajbari so that we can feel the heritage and relive the moments unheard.but overall we thoroughly enjoyed the sunny weather crisp picturesque scenery all around the palace and the whole Jhargram city is just mesmerizing...and the Rajbari food is just so full and homely yet so so tasty.I wud suggest pls advice them accordingly as it's a huge variety and amt if u cannot gobble it pls take less amt frst then reorder accordingly as wasting food is not good 😊...Then what r u waiting go catch the train coming weekend and prebook Rajbari before hand surely to get the best room.take care happy journey 😊🙏

Jhargram Raj Place ,
Firstly the name palace or the brand advertising of a royal estate is completely pretentious
There is nothing 'Royal' about this overrated hotel ,this can be termed Medicore at best
Secondly the food service is very underwhelming, the quality is very poor ,and no special food request is accepted by the management
All you get in reply of your request is a big and consistent "No" from the management
Thirdly the rooms are not maintained at all ,the floors, windows have not been clean for a long time it seems.
Lastly the price is too overpriced ,this kind of underwhelming accommodation at such a historical place is really disappointing,
Hope the Management can fix the issues and don't fool the customers in the name of Royal palace

A big and clean attached bathroom which could be renovated in the future.

First of all it's not a tourist place like any other. It's a private property. It's like a private hotel. If you book room and stay here only then you will get access to enter inside this palace. The beach is surrounded by mouth-watering seafood for sale and food stalls that offer affordable and delicious local cuisine. Digha Beach has its own unique story to share; the sunrises bring joy while sunsets excite for another sunrise.
This is my all time fav beach so far in the world. Loads of memory, that cant be forgotten. Digha is like a pilgrim to me. I try to make a visit every year atleast. I have been going to Digha since me was 10. So, far uncountables. Over the time lost friends and family, so many members aren't there with us any more, but this place will remain the same for me, my family and for the future generation too. Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has done an amazing job with the development, locals are happy there. Places are more safe. Only 1 wish there should be few places on the beach at old digha to drink. That's going missing. Its good that i know places. But not at new digha. Our old days were better, we can drink beer with parents and family then soak in the water, was great. Its my views, irresponsible drinking isn't GOVT fault.
Nobody would believe, every time I am there, I still do the sightseeing. Chandrasher temple, Talsari, Udaipur, science-city, marine park, Amravati park and so on and strolling in the market.
I wish GVT could restore the gaming zone at Amravati Park. Its being closed since first visit. I still remember, first my bike race, riding the bike taking those turn,WOW!! Without fail I crossed the finish line.
Whenever, we used to be in water, my little brother used to cry as me and other would go far. he used to scared if we get lost. He is still the same, only he is now, muscular hunk with 6 ft hight. I am blessed I grown up with big family, our trip used to be of 11 members, going with cousins are best feeling. Hookah, beer, booze perfect. Then without sleep going for sunrise. That sunkissed moment and smell of LUCHI, wow.
I am so glad, that those shops still remember us, they are so helpful.

It's a very beautiful place and good for those who earn ₹15000/- to ₹40000/- monthly. You can go and enjoy with family members and friends at a low price. They can enjoy their life happily. Little happiness is more previous than pretending beautiful life. I suggest once a year, everyone should go for recreation. So they can release the happiness of their life.
. It doesn't matter whether you are poor or rich. Life is one, once it crosses the time , we can't come to the same moment to enjoy it again. So please go and have a pleasure in your life with your dear and near love 💕💕 one.

The beach is stunning, with soft white sand and muddy water that stretches for miles. The view of the sunset is truly breathtaking and makes for some great photo opportunities. There are plenty of activities to do on the beach, such as swimming, sunbathing, and even horseback. The beach is also lined with food vendors offering seafood and local snacks, which is perfect for a quick snack or lunch break. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Digha Sea Beach if you're in the area. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot to relax, enjoy the scenery, and take in the local culture. I love this place.
Let me explain to you if you want to go there.
You can come by train or by bus and I'll suggest you to take the train.
There are trains from howrah junction which come to Digha.
If you are taking the bus then come to New Digha
If you are with family then find a good hotel which will be around 1000-1500 per day.
If you are with friends and the room decor doesn't matter to you then find a small hotel which is near the road it will be available at 600-700 per day for 5-6 boys group.
Next morning you can go to other beaches to see sunrise and then comeback by afternoon and enjoy the day here.
If you are non-vegetarian then this place will be paradise for you. If you are vegetarian then it will be hard to survive here cuz everywhere you will find small shops of sea food and nonveg food stalls.

Digha, located in the East Midnapore district of West Bengal, is a charming seaside destination that offers a perfect escape from the daily grind. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Digha, and I must say, it was a delightful experience.
The highlight of Digha is undoubtedly its beautiful beach, which provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun, take a leisurely stroll along the shore, or simply unwind with a book, Digha's beach offers the perfect setting.
One of the things that impressed me most about Digha was the abundance of low-cost handicraft shopping options. From colorful trinkets to unique souvenirs, there's something for everyone to take home as a memento of their trip.
When it comes to dining, Digha certainly doesn't disappoint. With a wide array of menus to choose from, you'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to invigorating your taste buds. However, I would advise staying away from vendors selling ready-to-cook fried fish, as it may not always meet the desired quality standards.
Digha's location at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal makes it a popular tourist spot year-round. Whether you visit on a weekday or a weekend, you can expect the area to be bustling with activity. Despite the crowds, Digha maintains a calm ambiance, particularly in the early morning hours.
For those looking to explore beyond the beach, Digha offers plenty of opportunities for sightseeing. Don't miss the chance to visit the famous mangrove region of Bichitrapur, known for its unique ecosystem and natural beauty. Additionally, Chandaneshwar Temple is a must-visit destination that should be included in your itinerary.
Overall, Digha is a fantastic destination for a small outing to escape the daily hassles of life. With its beautiful beach, vibrant shopping options, and diverse dining scene, it offers something for every traveler to enjoy. Whether you're seeking relaxation or adventure, Digha has it all.

Digha Beach, nestled on the Bay of Bengal in West Bengal, India, offers a scenic escape from the bustle of city life. Here's a breakdown of my experience to help you decide if it's the perfect beach destination for you
Udaypur Sea Beach, located near Digha, is a popular destination for families and travelers. The area offers an amusement park with attractions like toy trains and boat rides, making it a hit with kids. Visitors are advised to arrive early in the day to enjoy activities such as swimming and rafting before the water level rises later on.
Lovely place for hangout. Different types of seafood freshly cooked with some soft or hard drink makes your day. You can also try paragliding or speedboat 🚤trip across the sea. A must go place during Digha tour.

Wonderful beach. BUT. This beach has now become a large open air hookah bar, beer & seafood restaurant. As of October 2023, sitting after 6pm isn't allowed due to an untoward incident at beach. If smell of fishes irritates you, or if you're allergic to fishes, then this place isn't for you. People who don't know swimming but love sea bathing, this beach is ideal for you. No rough waves, almost like wavy river. Please get up and try to back before 6:15pm to avoid shortage of return vehicle. Best to keep a reserved car.

Nice and awesome ☺️ place. It is Uday pur Seabeach near Digha. Personally I recommend you 😉 to come here between 8.00 am to 3.00 pm. Because, after 3.00pm the level of the water 🌊 begins to arise. According to me if you are coming here one day+night trip or more the you should come to the near around 7.00am to 3.00pm because in this time there is good situation to bath in the sea. Here you can also experience the pleasure ☺️ of rafting. There are lots of tubes for those who don't know how to swim . There also rented bikes for men, scooties for women and remote controlled battery cars for childrens are available. In this beach ⛱️ there is no tension for food. Because there are lots of shops of sea food like curries of fishes 🐠🐟, prawns🦐🍤 and crabs etc. According to me you should come here at 7.00am to 3.00pm and in the evening go to Dheusagar Park near to this beach.

We visited there on Thursday. On Monday this place is very crowded. There are many Bulls roaming around so beware. There are many temples within the main temple yard. Brahamans (Priest) are polite. If you wish you make your child Bald, then there are many barbers here. You have to pay for many things here, so keep small notes (Money). We visited this temple in the afternoon of a weekday. There was no crowd and we could easily have a darshan. The temple premises is clean and tidy. We paid 10 rupees for depositing our shoes. However there is a scam going on in the parking space as suddenly someone just popped up and demanded an arbitrary amount money for our car. We protested and the person created all types of nuisance. Everyone around was just a spectator and we realized that was all a got up show to extract money. Please visit with caution.

At a distance of 6 km from Digha Railway Station, Chandaneswar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located at Chandipur near Digha, West Bengal. It is one of the renowned places of pilgrimage in Digha and among the must include places in Digha Tour Packages.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Chandaneshwar is one of the famous temples in Digha. Built-in typical Kalinga Architecture style of Old Odisha temples, the beautiful white marble place of worship rings with the stories and sculptural representations of Hindu mythology. The Shiva Linga here is said to be Swayambhu (or self-originated). A black statue of Nandi is also a prime attraction of this holy temple. One can always find a large number of devotees around the shrine.
The temple plays host to a huge annual fair on Maha Vishuva Sankranti day, the first day of the Oriya calendar. The first day mainly falls on April 14 every year according to the Gregorian Calendar. Half a million people gather around the shrine and fast for several days to fulfill their wishes. If you visit during that period, you will be amazed by the Chaitra Mela (a fair in the month of Chaitra) that continues for 13 days.
PICKLU RONG — Google review
The temple here is very beautiful but the priests are very greedy . The priests here have everything except devotion (not all priests) Because they are always ready to collect money from you.
And the bulls that live here, whom we call Nandi Maharaj, are not well taken care of either So if you go here and take something for the animals here and feed them then Mahadev will be very pleased with you.

Chandaneswar Shiva Temple is a major Shiva temple in Baleshwar district and also in our state, Odisha. It is situated at a distance of 45 km from Jaleswar and about 88 km from Balasore town. Digha Sea Beach in West Bengal is only 8 km from there. The palace remains overcrowded on special occasions like Maha Vishubasankranti,Uda Parba,Nila Parba, and Chadaka Mela days. Chadak Mela is the main festival of the temple. There are many bulls roaming around, so beware of them. In that temple, fruits, sweets, and 'Bhanga' are given to God with Bel leaves (wood apple). You will find fully vegetarian hotels for meals, tiffins, and toilets nearby. The pond in the corridor should be maintained properly, as people often bathe here before going into the temple. Overall, it is a very nice place to visit.

Kshirachora Gopinatha:-
Temple (Odia: କ୍ଷୀରଚୋରା ଗୋପୀନାଥ ମନ୍ଦିର) is in Remuna, Odisha, India. The name "Remuna" is from the word "Ramaniya" which means very good-looking. "Kshirachora" in Odia means Stealer of condensed Milk and Gopinatha means the Divine Consort of Gopis. The reference is to child Krishna's love for milk and milk products. It is Classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition.
*** Parking available

I am not blaming the Prasad but quality is too much compromised as expected by a devotee.

Khirachora Gopinath (literally Milk Thief Lord of Gopis) is an ancient temple (built ~1300 AD)dedicated to Lord Krishna located in the town of Remuna near Balasore. It is said that Lord Krishna had stolen a pot of Khira for his devotee Madhavananda Puri, an incident that occurred about 500 years ago. Hence the name.
The special prasad of this temple is Gopinath Kheeri (payasam) also called as Amrita-Keli, given in clay vessels. It is available in 3 denominations- ₹25, ₹40, ₹70.
It is very auspicious to Vaishnavas and ISKCON devotees. There is a samadhi of Rasikananda Prabhu (thought to be incarnation of Aniruddha, grandson of Sri Krishna.

Walled Hindu temple complex with multiple shrines & colourful domes, dedicated to Goddess Biraja.
One of the Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas. Powerful place this and one can experience the vibrations within a short duration of Meditation/Dhyan. Like most devotees have mentioned before priests are money minded. They are not happy with the dakshina offered but demand for a certain amount. But one must look beyond these irritations to experience the ambience of this temple.

Biraja Sakthipeeta is a historic temple located in #Jajpur. The principal deity is Matha Durgadevi, who is worshiped as Viraja. Jajpur itself is called #Viraja Kshetra and #BirajaPeetha. The Durga devi has two hands (dwibhuja), spearing the chest of Mahishasura with one hand and pulling his tail with the other. The murti's crown features Ganesha, a crescent moon and a lingam. The temple covers a large area, and has several shrines to Shiva and others. In this Sakthipeetam
Sati's navel fell. Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Stuti Adi Shankara describes her goddess as Girija. This is also known as #NabiGaya

Biraja temple is one of the the major Sakti peetha of Odisha. Located in Jajpur district which is around 20km from NH16 or Kuakhia flyover bridge. Needs some improvement in terms of sanitation and cleanliness around the temple. Garbhagriha surroundings should maintain some cleanliness.

This is one of the major 4 Shakti Peeth of India. This is a 2 hour 30min drive from the capital of Odisha. This has its own importance. This remains less crowded on ordinary days. There is a Navi Gaya in the premises of the temple for Shradh purposes. The parking around the premises is quite good.

Biraja devi temple is a Shakti Peeth, where Sati's Navel/Nabhi is located. Serene temple and a devine Devi darshan. A bit far from Bhubaneswar though, very interior. Beware of the money minded pandits, they are common across all temples here.

1) Time taken to reach the temple from Bhubaneswar Patia is about 2:30-3 hours. Actually we had taken a break for breakfast as we started from home early morning. Overall it might be around 2:20 mins.
2) The only challenge we faced at the place is the public rest room outside the temple perimeter is not clean even if they charge 5/- per person. It’s not maintained at all.
3) Just outside the temple perimeter, there is ample space for vehicle parking.
4) we had a wonderful and peaceful Darshan of Biraja Maa without any crowd or any pull/push of pandas/public
5) The temple perimeter has 7-8 more temples with lot of spaces to roam around. For elders it is a very comforting place as not much stairs to climb and they can sit under a tree if tired or during summer days
6) from temple about 3-4 km there is a Dasashwamedh Ghat which is Beside Brahmani river where people perform Pind Dana rituals.
7) It is said, that the Garva Griha within temple perimeter does not need any cleaning. Once Pind offered here, the Pind only goes to the centre of earth and it never gets filled. Nice concept I found it, as this place is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Shakti where “NAVI” of Maa Shakti fell here.

Must visit the temple. It's a very warm feeling you will get inside the temple. You will get a chance to see all of Siva linga inside the temple.
Cons: the pujari harassment is very bad here. Pujari will force you to pay money for any offering to the goddess. Don't pay money to them and keep yourself while entering the temple do not say where you are from.

May have a strong history behind this temple. I heard one localite telling me that Parvvathi's part fell at this place and formed the Biraja Mandir. The main diety is Maa Parvathi. There is a pathal Jagannath Temple and it is not maintained at all as it has become a dwelling for a lot of cockroaches. Some one was distributing prasad for Rs.20 in the temple complex and few people were selling diary products. Towards the left of the temple there were plenty of Shivlings. When we went it was a bit crowded and it took about 1 hour for darshan. Some of the Decotees had orange Tika on their forehead with white thrishul in the center painted.

Maa Biraja Temple is located in Jajpur, Odisha.
It is one of a Sakti Pitha and is told to be powerful as one body part of Goddess Sati (before the birth of Parvati Devi), wife of Shivji fell here from across India. There is an ancient story about it.
This Temple is open during morning and evening hours.
The names of idols are also mentioned in Telugu.
Overall one must visit it, will feel blessed.
I am adding the map of Shakti Pithas which was present at the temple, referring which visiting to different Shakti Pithas would be easier.
Colored Spots in map to identify different Shakti Pithas-

Hindu believed temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The ghat section needs careful and cautious driving to reach the temple. For pedestrians more than 1300 steps to be climbed. You have to be very much alert during purchasing and holding valuable items, food etc from the monkey. Pure vegetarian food (rice, dalma, chutney, curry and khir ) are available during daytime inside the temple premises. Beautiful temple surrounded by hills, jungle and small spring. At the base of Kapila's temple a children's amusement park, science garden, and a small animal zoo can be visited.

I always like to go where nature's beauty is spread all over. Kapilash is one of them. There is a temple of Lord Shiva on the top of the hill where he is worshiped. The environment is good & you can't watch the whole place in one day. Also, the washrooms and toilets are very clean to use. The best part is that you will get lost in the beauty of nature. There is a hotel that provides lunch by giving you paid token before the lunch. Lastly, I enjoyed the trip to Kapilash a lot and obviously, you will also.

Nestled in the Old City, Cuttack Odisha, on the confluence of River Mahanadi, Mother Chandi is the main deity who is looking after and protecting this Premier Capital of Odisha .This powerful black stone deity is the ruler of Cuttack and a living goddess.
According to legend, the present piece of land, where the holy temple is located, was lying fallow before. Late Sri Hansa Panda, who happens to be the Purohit of the then King of Kanika, experienced a strange unusual feeling within himself. Surprisingly on the same night, The Goddess "Chandika" appeared in his dream and requested him to take her out of the land.
The image of the deity is older than the temple. It is believed that she was the family deity of the Gajapati Empire in the medieval age, due to Islamic invaders' attacks she was buried while the kings migrated to Puri. This temple was established in 1946.

The arati timing of this temple is 6:30 PM. The shoe stand price is 5/- per footwear. The mandira bhog is 100/- and one deep is 20/-. The holy place is a bit pricey so better take your own puja essentials from home. The vibe is very positive and powerful here so make sure you have cleansed your brain before entering the temple or else you'll not be able to understand the feel I'm talking about. Remember to leave space in front of the lion to see maa during the arati. That's what you need to know for visiting the temple.

One of the important religious place of Cuttack. Happy to see the renovation work going on here...which is much needed. Want to see a proper sanctum to be maintained inside the temple during Puja days.
