It was a great beach with amazing views. The sand sloped pretty steeply and the ocean had harsh currents so it is probably unsuitable for kids to play in. It was a fairly well-kept beach and I liked the time I spent there.

Entry fee and parking fee is there. Childrens play park is also there. Big beach park. It is more safer than goa beach. Kasaragod has beaitiful beach than goa. Bekal Fort is an impressive and expansive stronghold that offers picturesque views of the sea. The fort boasts well-preserved walls, gates, and tunnels, making it a fascinating destination for history enthusiasts. Efforts have been made to maintain the property in good condition. It is recommended to visit early during summer to avoid sun exposure and allocate at least 2-3 hours to explore the entire complex.
The fort is well maintained looking over the Arabian sea. There is a well maintained garden in the fort area. You can walk from one end to other of the fort, look over the sea and enjoy the beach view and cool breeze through the sea. Better to visit this place post noon, so that place will be a bit cool and you can watch amazing sunset from the fort.

Great historic monument situated in a very strategic location. Best time to visit is earlier in the day or late in the evening since the place is open and not much of a shade except few trees around. If you're visiting during other times of the day it's advisable to carry an umbrella to protect you from the tropical heat.
It's a huge estate and a nice long walk around the periphery is a must-do apart from walking up the rampart. Southward view is towards the beautiful beach and the westward one/gate is great for viewing amazing sunsets.
You can buy tickets at the counter or via UPI by scanning a QR code.
There is ample paid parking near the fort.
Fort entry closes by 5:30pm, though hours are till 6pm.

Well, I'm not sure what I have to say, but it's ok to visit one-time here. It's just a big fort beside the ocean. It doesn't have much greenery like it used to have a few years ago, especially during this season (check picture for reference). Bit crowded in certain places, and you will be able to see people not following basic rules for example, it might be written, don't cross the fences or sit on top of the wall as such, but you will anyway end up seeing people trespassing those and sitting on top of walls and such. It's such a huge fort that it would take almost an hour or more to cover the entire fort. No food or drinks are available inside th fort, so you will have to buy it from outside before entering. All you can do here is just walk walk walk, which is a good exercise and enjoy some views and relish the history. There are places to rest, but I would advise to take umbrellas if you are going during hot season. Don't exactly remember the entry fee, but it's somewhere between 40-60 if I am not wrong. Also, the best time to visit would be in the evenings. Please don't go in the afternoon and all, you'll would be dead...😂☀️🌞 oh just to add, they accept only cash, even though they have a QR code at the ticket counter that is for people who have booked online. Not sure what's the logic behind that, so better keep cash ready. No UPI payments accepted, at least when we went.

We had a great time here. We dint had enough time so couldn't see everything. It takes more than 2 hours to go everywhere here. The entry fees is just 25rs and paid parking is also there just outside . If you come by train you can get down at kanhangad and take a local bus or get down at Kasaragod and take a bus to main bus stand and from there you will get bekal fort buses. And also there is a cafe just ouside the fort, good food and juices are available and a great ambiance,The art in the walls are really good just give a try.

The Fort's practical design, with a zigzag entrance and well-preserved fortifications, reflects its historical importance. The exploration of massive walls, observation towers, and an underground tunnel gives a glimpse into Kerala's rich cultural and architectural heritage. Inside the fort, you'll find carefully preserved relics, including ancient cannons and secret tunnels. Situated on a hillock overlooking the Arabian Sea, the fort provides stunning panoramic views of the coastline. It's recommended to visit early in the morning or around 4:00 pm to avoid the heat and fully enjoy the place.

With stunning views of the Arabian Sea and well-preserved structures, it's a must-visit for history buffs and nature enthusiasts. Tips:
- You can reach bekkal Fort by bus or train. Buses are available from Kasaragod bus stand. 'Bekal Fort 'railway station is available, But few trains have stop there.
-Visit evening and enjoy a beautiful sunset. I do not recommend visiting in the morning or noon in summer. Too humid and the temperature will reach 35-39°C .

Tannirbhavi Beach, which can be reached by bridge or ferry, is a large sandy beach that provides a serene setting and has lifeguards on duty. Despite the fact that it is not permitted to swim or engage in water activities due to the deep waters, it remains an ideal location for unwinding with family. There is ample parking available and an abundance of seating from where you can admire the picturesque sunset.
Beautiful beach located in the coastal city of Karnataka, Mangaluru.
The beach is famous fast its sunset view since it is located on the west coast in Arabian sea. It attracts huge crowd in the evening mostly localities along with tourists. Most family outing place hence there are few activities in the beach including camel ride, horse ride etc. There are few eateries for refreshments. The benches have been put along the beach bund for people sit, relax and enjoy the sunset view with cool breeze.
The people also like to swim here in this beach. The shower facilities have been provided near toilets adjacent to parking for the people get fresh after swimming in salt water of sea.
There is a parking lot with nominal charges for both two and four wheelers.
Finally, the maintenance is good in keeping the beach clean inspite of huge crowds visiting the beach.
Visit and enjoy...

Lovely spot to hang out with friends and family. Evenings are best to visit, don’t miss the sunset. If going by public transport, need to travel a km by ferry, priced at 15 per person and free for children below 7. Do carry food/drinks as there are very less food outlets. Got to ride a horse too at the shore. Nice time spent, a must visit in Mangaluru.

Tannirbhavi beach which is one among the famous beaches in mangalore have made a huge changes from past year.
When i visited today , there was an entry fee of 20/- per head which has to be paid on entering the beach + fee for parking your vehicle is also paid🤷🏻♀️. Right now this changes is made by the govt for improvising the beach. There is still lot more which is still under construction.
Seating arrangements made with bamboo is really overwhelming and good. The one with the hut and a bamboo chairs cost 100/- per hour for 2 people. This is completely made for tourists people. This beach in coming future will loot lot of money just for such silly things. All these rates of parking fee+ entry fee+ the other fee which includes mineral water+ usage of public toilets should be made in package for those people who really want stuffs like this. This is entirely ridiculous. The management should check on further improvement on this facilities for upcoming new developments on whatsoever is happening there.

It was awesome!
The waves were not so violent and high, so the whole family can enjoy and have fun together irrespective of one's age. Sand was beautiful to play with. It was very much less polluted compared to others. We had visited around 7:00 am in the morning, so there were very less people and we had a great time. I am not sure about the crowd later during the day.
For tourists, I would highly recommend to visit during the early morning, to avoid severe heat, because I visited in summer. I am not sure about the other seasons though.

Beautiful sunset between 6-7 PM. Two way to reach here, ride all the way around 10kms from the main city or a very interesting way for the tourists is to go to Sulthan Battery and take a boat from there which drops one to Tannirbhavi. Many lifeguards present here too, going deep swimming is not allowed I believe, never tried. Weekends crowded, weekdays almost nobody will be there.

Well, not bad at all.. Honestly..
I Don't know if, take your drinks and be at the beach scene works there? Like In goa, as long as you stay out of other people's business and don't get involved in crazy staff. It's not that crowded however not bad at all.. There is a surfing point plus people swim.
No beach restaurants I went to. Just a walk by the beach.. I Had a good evening..
Benches are there to sit... Small gazebo type shades made for heat I assume.
I did not step in the water.. There is a horse for a ride... Please please please it's for kids.. Look at the size of that horse, feel sorry for it you large people. POV Adults need to go to a horse club for horse riding and pictures, it's only for kids.

Development required to make a world class tourism place but our lazy government servents and politicians are not at all interested to do a development in tourism.

The beach is very nice and located just on the side of Mangalore port. If you will be lucky then you may witness a big cargo ship which will be heading towards Port or from the port to the Arabian sea.
There are lot of snacks available there and there are camel and horse ride available.
One more thing which we liked about this beach is the seats which are in the beach so you can rest there and enjoy the breeze of sea.

It's a free beach. It was very crowded when I visited. Lots of people enjoying the water activities. They have built a floating bridge, there was a huge line. It seems thrilling. There are a lot of food options available. The sunset was great too. I walked from the nearby city bus stop(Panamburu Beach) and it's around 20-30 mins walk. There was heavy traffic when I was there, and parking seemed full too so keep this in mind while planning.

I had been here to experience the floating bridge, and it was really good being there. They charge 150/- per person for about 15-20 mins of time to spend. Even the safety precautions were good, we were provided with life jackets and even the life guards around there were active and alert. But, the beach might need a little cleanliness awareness. Apart from that the beach has good food options too, along with a Washroom facility that really needs maintenance.

Attractions include jet ski rides, boating, dolphin viewing and food stalls. Trained lifeguards patrol the beach to ensure visitor safety.

One of the best temples I have been to in recent times. Located in a quiet and peaceful area in Kumbla, this temple is built on a lake and is really beautiful. The priests were friendly and told us about the history of the temple and even made arrangements to show us the star of the place, Babiya the crocodile. Yes, there really is a crocodile in the lake. From what I read, this temple is open to all and that is something I love. Would definitely recommend this place to all.

Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple or Ananthapura Lake Temple is a Hindu temple built in the middle of a lake in the little village of Ananthapura, around 6 km from the town of Kumbla in Manjeshwaram Taluk of Kasaragod District of Kerala, South India. This is the only lake temple in Kerala and is believed to be the original seat (Moolasthanam) of Ananthapadmanabha Swami (Padmanabhaswamy temple) Thiruvananthapuram. It is considered one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. Legend has it that this is the original site where Ananthapadmanabha settled down.

A 9th-century beatiful temple of Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy (Bhagwan Mahavishnu) is located in Kumbla Kasaragod District, Kerala.
The temple is known as the moolasthanam, the original source of the Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple of Thiruvananthapuram.
The temple is believed to have been established by Divakaras, who are known for their dedication to worshipping Bhagwan Vishnu.
The temple also has yet another interesting tale to tell—the story of the guardian crocodile. Since very ancient times, one crocodile has been seen there. After the worship, the feed offered by devotees is given to Babia at noon. Temple authorities claim that Babia is a vegetarian and has never harmed anyone, including the fish in the pond

Shree Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form of Anantha Padmanabha, the one who reclines on the serpent Ananta. The temple is located inside the East Fort in the heart of the city.
The temple is considered to be one of the 108 holy temples of Lord Vishnu, and one of the world's richest temples. The name of the city of 'Thiruvananthapuram' in Malayalam and Tamil translates to "The City of Ananta". The temple is built in an intricate fusion of the Kerala style and the Dravidian style of architecture, featuring high walls, and a 16th-century gopura (ornate entrance gate).
The temple has a long history, and its hidden treasure has piqued people from time to time. As per popular beliefs, it was established about 5000 years ago by sage Divakara Muni Vilwamangalam, who found Lord Vishnu in a cave near a mahua tree. The main sanctum has an idol of Lord Anantha Padmanabha made of 12,000 saligramams (sacred stones) from Nepal, covered with gold and precious stones. The idol is about 18 feet long and can be seen through three doors. The temple also has shrines for Lord Narasimha, Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi.
- The temple is open from 3:15 AM to 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:20 PM on all days.
- The entry is free, but you have to follow a strict dress code. Men have to wear dhoti or mundu without any upper garment. Women have to wear sari, mundum neriyathum, skirt and blouse or half sari.

The Ananthapura Temple in Kasargod stands as a serene and stunning edifice amidst a lake enveloped by lush greenery. Renowned for its rich history linked to the revered deity Pathmanabha Swamy of Trivandrum, the temple exudes a sense of profound spirituality.
One of its unique features was the presence of a crocodile within the temple's lake, which peacefully coexisted with devotees. Though it passed away last year, a new generation, a baby crocodile, now guards this sacred site. This intriguing aspect adds to the temple's mystique and legacy, offering visitors a truly unique and memorable experience within its tranquil and spiritually resonant ambiance.

Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple is a Hindu temple established in the 10th or 11th century, featuring bronze statues and hosting annual festivities. The temple resembles North Indian structures upon entry, with a central Shiva idol likeness. Additionally, the temple boasts a natural water source from Kashi that provides cold, clean water with a sweet taste. Visitors can climb higher into the mountains to find small caves previously used as an escape route by Pandas during Mahabharata times.
One of the oldest temple. Situated in Mangalore city this temple is popular among tourists. This temple was built in the 10th or 11th century.
Main god worshipper here is lord Manjunatha. There is a natural spring at the temple premises and the water flow is constant throughout the year. It is called a Gomukha thirtha. Water is so pure that people even carry it for drinking purpose
There are 9 ponds/ lakes also near to the gomukha theertha.

Wonderful and very well built temple in a vast area. Situated in the midst of Mangalore. There are many temples in this campus along with the 7 ponds where people do come for Kalash snana and it's indeed a transcendental experience of my life getting a Kalash snana for myself. There's a Ganapati temple besides the 7 ponds where there's an origin of Tirtha dhara from Gomukha, taking it on my head after the snana was one of the best spiritual experiences of my life. Furthermore there's a Mahadeva temple, right above it and on the way to the top you'll reach up to Hanuman temple. There's a newly built Yogeshwar mutt on the top of the hill and beautifully built temples and well maintained infrastructure to reach there too. A must visit temple for a Hindu believer.😇❤️

Jolly beach is on the shore of the Arabian Sea and a lighthouse. Many films have been shot at this location. Kaup has three Marigudi which attracts devotees from far away places. The sea is much more rougher and intimidating compared to the gentler Malpe beach in Udupi. It is about 15 km from the university town of Manipal and is a favorite hangout for the students. The beach also sports a shack and a bar with seating in the open sky. Though the sea is mostly calm all year round, there have been isolated cases of drowning in this beach.

The view of sunset from light house is amazing. There also is ferry which leaves to island periodically. The staff tries to keep the beach very clean but visitors don't respect it and throw trash. The beach is free to visit. The car parking near by costs 20-30 rupees. Food cost is nominal. Beach toys are available in shops. The ATV rides and few more games available at beach. The visit to light house costs 8 to 15 rupees and its worth the money, but you need to climb the 120 stairs to reach top. No lifts 😉

This stunning beach is known for its natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and soft sands.
Kaup or Kapu beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs and lush greenery, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The best time to visit is during the months of October to May, when the weather is pleasant and the sea is calm for swimming.
There are a couple of palm-thatched shacks and restaurants serving delicious seafood and refreshing drinks. You can also indulge in some water sports activities like scuba diving snorkeling and so on but you will have to get prior approvals from the local authorities first.
If you want to relax and unwind, you can lie down on the beach and enjoy the stunning views, or take a dip in the sea and feel the cool breeze. The highlight of this beach is its 100 (built in 1901) year old light house which is a glaring monument takes us back in time.
Avoid visiting this beach on weekends, from monday to - friday the beach is mostly empty and a bliss.
Overall, Kapu beach is a fantastic destination for those seeking a break from their hectic routine and want to experience the beauty of nature.

The iconic lighthouse adds a touch of charm to the landscape, and the backdrop of swaying coconut trees enhances the coastal beauty. The breathtaking sunset is a sight to behold, and spending a couple of hours here with family was pure bliss. If there's a chance to enter the lighthouse, that would be the cherry on top of an already amazing experience. Highly recommended for a serene and memorable beach outing!

Kapu Beach, a coastal gem along the southwestern shores of India, offers an enchanting blend of history, natural beauty, and modern amenities. During my visit in the winter season, I was captivated by the timeless allure of this destination, where the sun-kissed sands and the rhythmic waves create an atmosphere that transcends seasons.
One of the standout features of Kapu Beach is its historical lighthouse, a majestic structure that has stood the test of time. What sets it apart is its functionality - the lighthouse is not merely a relic of the past but an active beacon guiding ships safely through the Arabian Sea. The opportunity to witness this working piece of history adds a unique and fascinating layer to the overall experience.
The beach itself boasts a beautiful atmosphere, characterized by the gentle lull of the waves and the soft caress of the coastal breeze. The tranquility of Kapu Beach creates a sense of calm that envelops visitors, making it an ideal spot for those seeking relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Exploring the seashore, I marveled at the breathtaking rock formations that adorn the coastline. These imposing stones, weathered by time and the elements, add a dramatic and picturesque element to the seascape. Climbing atop some of these rocks provided a panoramic view of the azure sea, making it a must-visit spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Near the beach, a variety of food courts offer a delightful culinary experience. From local seafood delicacies to international flavors, the diverse options cater to every palate. Enjoying a sumptuous meal with the soothing sounds of the sea in the background enhanced the overall sensory experience of my visit.
Despite the winter season, Kapu Beach exuded a warmth that made it feel like summer. The golden sands and the sun setting over the horizon created a stunning visual spectacle. The beach's charm extends into the evening, making it an ideal location for photographers and cinematographers. The interplay of light and shadow, coupled with the scenic backdrop, provides a canvas for capturing moments of beauty and tranquility.
In conclusion, Kapu Beach is a multifaceted destination that seamlessly combines history, natural beauty, and modern amenities. The working lighthouse, serene atmosphere, culinary delights, and stunning rock formations make it a haven for travelers seeking a well-rounded coastal experience. Whether you are a nature enthusiast, food connoisseur, or a photography enthusiast, Kapu Beach offers a timeless escape that leaves a lasting impression.

Kaapu beach and lighthouse are absolutely fantastic. A must visit if you are in Udupi. The beach has fine white sand and there are water games too. The lighthouse is towards the right side of the beach. You can also see the river streams merging with the sea here around the lighthouse. Entry to the lighthouse costs 10 rs per adult. The stairs are curving and maybe difficult to climb for some. The last part of the stairs is a very steep climb for around 20 steps. The views are worth the climb. You can see miles into the sea and the backwaters and the beach. There is are food stalls for snacks and toilets at the entry to the beach. Car parking space is sufficient and cost rs. 20.

Kapu Beach Lighthouse was built in 1901 by the East India Company. The total height of the lighthouse is 27.12m.
The lighthouse is open to public in the evening except during monsoon season. The closest busstand is Kapu and one can board a rickshaw from the bus stop to reach the beach.
There are plenty of water sports held in the beach and tourists can experience the rides at affordable costs. Plenty of shops around the beach premises selling eatables. Road to the beach is very narrow and the parking space is limited.

At a distance of 16 km from Udupi, Kaup Beach is a beautiful beach situated close to NH17 between Udupi & Mangalore. It is one of the must include places in Udupi Tour Packages, and among the best beaches near Bangalore.
Kaup Beach is one of the famous beaches in Karnataka where tourists enjoy the beauty of the environment, the long stretches of golden sands, and the cool sea breeze. The beach is covered by palm groves. There is a lighthouse here, constructed in 1901, which is open every day for an hour from 5.30 AM. The delightful view of the entire seashore and the beach from the lighthouse is every photographer's dream.
Besides the lighthouse, Kaup also has ruins of Jain Basadis that line across the stretch of sand, and these are definitely worth a visit. Kaup is also known for the temple of Goddess Mariamman. There is also an ancient fort located in Kaup which is in ruins now.

We are here at the wrong time cause it's raining and we can't enjoy walking in the water because of high tide. Apart from this the atmosphere is really nice, calm and peaceful. We spend our time sitting near the beach and lighthouse. The lighthouse opening time was 5.15 pm to 6 pm and they charged for the entry in the lighthouse.

I had an incredible time at Kapu Beach! The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the breathtaking sunset. The view was made even more magical by the presence of a charming lighthouse on the beach. It created a picturesque setting that was perfect for capturing some stunning photos.
One thing that truly enhanced our experience was the convenience of facilities like toilets and changing rooms. It made our visit comfortable and hassle-free. In the evening, the beach took on a whole new level of beauty, making it the ideal time to be there.
Overall, Kapu Beach provided not only natural beauty but also practical amenities, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable seaside experience. I can't wait to return!

Great place to spend evenings. It's not too crowded and the sun set is spectacular. You can go to the top of the lighthouse from 5pm, a ticket will be available at the base of the light house. I highly recommend you to climb to the top the view from there is very good. It's a bit difficult to climb at the last part on top since it's a bit congested so be careful with kids here.

It is a serene coastal gem that captivates visitors with its golden shores and tranquil ambiance. The rhythmic lull of the Arabian Sea against the sandy expanse creates a soothing retreat. Famous for its pristine beauty, Kapu Beach offers breathtaking panoramic views, especially during sunrise and sunset. The iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse stands proudly, offering a spectacular vantage point for capturing the coastal panorama.
The beach's clean surroundings and gentle waves make it ideal for a leisurely stroll or a refreshing swim. The local fishermen add a touch of authenticity to the scene with their colorful boats lining the shore. While the beach maintains a serene atmosphere, it also provides opportunities for adventure seekers with water sports like surfing and jet skiing.
Kapu Beach is not just a picturesque destination but also a cultural experience, as it reflects the coastal life of Udupi. With its natural beauty and cultural richness, Kapu Beach stands out as a must-visit destination for those seeking a perfect blend of tranquility and adventure on Karnataka's coastline.

Beautiful beach and I felt it's silent then malpe beach.
Crowded but calm.
People were playing in the water, climbing rocks, climbing light houses, playing in sand, busy enjoying refreshing in shops, sitting on the bench and some playing activities like camel ride, kids activities and playing with kite 🪁
They have multiple options for food and refreshing snacks.
This beach is around 5 km away from Kapu junction.
You do have an auto stand who charges 50 rupes to drop you here and pick from the auto point next to entry.
Parking facilities for two and four wheeler are available.

It's a beautiful and serene beach with a lighthouse. It's not a commercial place and there are no facilities like changing rooms or food stalls. You can see the backwaters and the sea on both sides. If you have enough stamina to walk upstairs the lighthouse, you can experience an amazing view. A public washroom is near the lighthouse but not advisable to use it unless in emergency.
The Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology, also known as MAP, was founded over 40 years ago by Dr. SS Godbole and boasts a collection of over 3000 specimens. Divided into anatomy and pathology sections, the museum showcases a diverse range of human and animal skeletons, diseased organs, and body parts. Visitors can marvel at an elephant skull, cobra skeleton, and various anatomical exhibits.
Biggest Anatomy & Pathology lab in Asia with more specimens showcased. The entry fee is only ₹10. Will take around an hour or two to have a detailed look. This place is not only good for medical students, everyone can visit and know something about anatomy and pathology. Photos are not allowed so posting the ones taken outside.

One of the unique museums in India and very very informative for life science students and kids. It claimed to be Asia's largest anatomy museum. The ticket price is rs 10 for adults and kids above 5 years charged at rs. 5. Photography inside the museum is not allowed. The total time required is 1 hr.
The roaming path is clearly marked with stickers so you don't miss any exhibit. It starts with general anatomy of animals/humans and leads to various human functions like cardiovascular, muscular and end up with embryology and diseases. Watching the journey of baby from 2md week to 8 months was awesome. There is a full embalm body of human.
Overall experience is great and worth of your time.
Parking is free and plenty. If there is no space you can park the car in the food court parking across the road.

The museum has got a great collection of specimens and models of humans and other vertebrates. There are separate sections for anatomy and pathology. The anatomy section comprises of comparative anatomy, and specimens arranged system wise. The pathology section comprises of cancers, infections and abnormal embryogenesis. It takes almost 1.5-2 hrs just to look at the specimens. It'll take much longer if we study them in detail. The complete skeletons of a human, horse, tiger and snakes, and the skulls of an elephant and a whale are some of the highlights of the museum. There's an entry fee of 10₹ for the public, whereas it is free for students. Parking space is available just outside the building. Photography is prohibited inside the building. It's a great place to revise your knowledge of anatomy and pathology, or to learn a lot if you're a novice.

This museum has thousands of artifacts on display - right from skeletons, body parts, organs etc. belonging to animals as well as humans. A must visit for children to introduce them to anatomy and medical science. The museum is remarkably well maintained, full marks to Manipal for setting up this outstanding place. The only thing which can be improved is to have a knowledgeable guide as almost all artifacts are marked in scientific terminology which would not be understood by everyone.

Very interesting anatomy museum, well maintained however they allowed entry until 6 p.m. and immediately shut down the power system leaving the museum completely dark and forced us to leave as it was closing time. It would be sensible to allow visitors only until 5:30 p.m. and give them a half an hour buffer rather than making them pay for the visit and not even allowing them to view the museum completely. Plan your visit accordingly.

Must visit place. Nice place to be with nature and understand a beautiful and vital species called Butterfly which we tend to ignore and think it is insignificant. But it is very important species playing a very important role in nature.
Best time to visit this place is between June and early September. Because this is time when butterflies comes down from Western Ghats to this place due to rains. Ideally reach this place by morning 08:00am. After 10:00 it gets hot (during Oct and Nov. During summers it might be terrible and I am not sure if there will be any butterflies then). If possible call up Mr. Sammilan Shetty and he would guide you better.
This place also does some kind of work (research) with Mangalore University, I guess.
Take a video tour or video introduction also. The introduction was very informative.
When I went there, there was Honey also for sale. We bought a few bottles.

It is a place for any butterfly wanderer and otherwise too for ones who love being close to nature and greenary around.
Three of us visiting the park for three days. Sarpita had come all the way from Kolkata with her mother to my home in Pune. We took an overnight bus to reach Belvai. Belvai bus stand is very close to Sammilan Shetty Butterfly Park. We were hosted in Sammilan’s guest house. This was about two Kms from the Park.
Coming from an urban hub, looking at this well planned park (for butterflies not us) was overwhelming. The moment you enter the park premises you feel you are in a jungle.
The butterfly park is very well planned and executed mostly with indigenous plant species that attracts butterflies to feed and breed around.
I got to see and learn of several plant species that I have not seen or known earlier, Clerodendrum, Hopea ponga and Aristolochia indica still stand out in my memory.
Since we had two whole days at the park, we were able to do several interesting observations like a weaver ant family devouring a freshly formed chrysalis of emigrant butterfly, a parasitoid caterpillar of Southern birdwing, a mating pair of medus brown, a peacock pansy caught up by a tiny crab spider, two tiny pigmy scrub hoppers bearing the rains out in open, Southern birdwings and several other butterflies enjoying nectar from the lantana an Stachytarpheta, a freshly eclosed yamfly quietly sucking Leea indica sap . However, the breath taking moment for me, was to see the Malabar banded peacock gliding through the park showing off its territory to us! A butterfly you will rarely see in the wild at such close quarters. It kept us on the toe for all three days.
The park is visited not only by butterfly enthusiasts like us but would not be wrong to say, the entire population of Beluvai and nearby areas. Families with young kids and elderlies, school children, college students all took pride in moving around and catching minimum of two to five names of butterflies before leaving. This is no less than a magic, creating understanding and sensitivity to every single visitors coming to the park.
Every visitor is run through a small presentation on butterfly diversity and behaviour documented right here at the park. This is interesting as any sighting is not ensured/guaranteed in the wild. Nobody will see a yamfly eclose, a tiny larva eating up its own egg shell or a mud puddling behaviour. The park team (Sammilan + college student interning here) take rounds to do presentation as per the crowd influx in preferred language be it Kanadda, Tulu or English. After understanding a little bit about butterflies, the visitors are taken around in the garden to see butterflies and host plants.
On request, Sammilan also arranged for a visit to nearby Durga Reserve Forest and Someshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. We got more endemic lifers to our list, Tamil lacewing, Malabar tree nymph, Malabar raven to name a few.
The home cooked food by Aunty was such a relief to eating outside food every time we travel. We had both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options. It was first time I was getting to taste some local delicacies. Not to miss the lovely coffee in pouring rains.
Sammilan Sir is very hospitable, we did not feel a thing amiss in the three day stay in Belvai. I bow to this personal interest and endeavour in talking about conservation through butterflies. Coming time will prove, this definitely has a far reaching effects.
(Ps: It should not be called a park, it’s all wilderness and madness around with butterflies, especially when you see Papilio Buddha, the Clippers and the Southern Birdwings!!!)

While a nominal fee of 50 Rs is charged for car parking, the experience of witnessing this unique marvel makes it well worth the visit.

42 feet Gommateshwara statue. Peaceful location. Vehicles cannot go to the top. Vehicles need to park downside and climb about 200 steps. It takes 5-10mins to reach the top.
Few hotels available at parking place. No food allowed inside the temple.
From top view is good. You can see Chaturmukha basadi top view from the hill top.
The best time to go is either morning or evening.

There is a big statue of shri gommateshwara. This place is very peaceful and clean. They charge Rs 50 for car parking. One can take steps too if interested.

The statue stands in a height of 42 feet with a stone platform of 5 feet. What makes it distinct from other iconography is the creepers and ant hills on his legs and arms. One can find some of the statues of other Jain saints around the shrine. The statue has the features like elongated ears, long arms, three folds on the neck, curly hair etc. Along with the green landscape around the statue, one can also find a with in absolute symmetrical structure. It is a 16th century Jain temple in the name Chaturmukha Basadi with four beautifully carved gates on all four sides. The walls are beautifully carved with Jain related sculptures. From the temple, the Bahubali statue is visible till its waist. Timings 8am to 8pm

Kurinjaala Betta, located in the Kudremukh Range, is a lush mountain covered in dense rainforest. The peak stands at 1160m and offers strenuous hiking trails for visitors. Bhagavati Nature Camp provides easy access to this peak, with a 7km trek to the summit that requires a guide as per forest department norms. However, leeches are abundant along the path due to the forest canopy and thick/moist foliage.
This is one of the peaks you get easy access to when staying at Bhagavati Nature Camp. It is an easy trek except for the leeches that are abundant along this path due to the forest canopy and thick/moist foliage. Walk of about 7km takes you to the summit but a guide is must as per the forest department norms (₹275 per head for forest fee and ₹1000 is the guide charge as of Apr'22).
Pro Tip: salt your socks and shoes, you'll have no leaches climbing you 😉

It's a easy trek. Good for beginners. Total 7+7 kms trek. Last stretch might be difficult for beginners since it involves hike on rocky hill.
Get the permission from forest department at the checkpost before entering. You won't get any streams here so carry enough water.
There are lots of leeches here, leech attack starts at the beginning of the trek only so take proper precautions.
I went in the month of June. Because of fog couldn't get good view at the viewpoint. It's good to visit during oct-dec if you want to enjoy good view. But mansoon treks have different experience, those clouds and rain.

Great place for a 1 day trek and it's very moderate for all types of people to enjoy. One drinking water point available while going and nothing after that. If we get a good weather it's a fantastic view from the top. The peak itself is very sharp and might look bit scary from distant, but not a big problem to reach there.

Nice trekking experience in Kudremukh national park, It starts from the Road point near bhagavathi Nature camp and walk to 5km in thick evergreen forest. It comprises both Evergreen, Grassland vegetation and monodominant trees. Initially for 1 km normal walking road then 2km evergreen patch you can catch with Fogg conditions sometime after that you can see the open canopy and grassland vegetation. Snake like roads are there to reach peak otherwise some shortcuts are there and in between Rocky view point is there. Finally you can enjoy the view point at the top.

It's a 40kms stretch of road with amazing views, roads are good for first 25 kms after that it's broken with lot of potholes, you get 1 hr to reach the other checkpoint, best time to visit would be September to November.

It's a beautiful trek and also a moderate trek located in Kudremukh national park.
Guide and permission is mandatory.
Permission fee cost INR of 475 as of now and guide fee 1000 for 8- 10 members and also parking fee should be paid.
Trek distance is approximately 15 km in total, also Monsoon there will be a large number of leeches so pls accordingly and in post moonsoon and summer there won't be water source in trail so plan accordingly only at the base water steam is there and also there is no network in this locality.

Kurinjal peak is one of the lesser-known peaks in the western ghats. It is hidden deep in the Kudremukh National Park.
One of the second best trek experience after Kudremukh in Kurinjaala Betta about 7+7 = 14 Km Trek.
Evergreen deep forest route, grasslands, breathtaking surroundings and enchanting environment, many small streams and lush green meadows and the steep climb to reach the peak will be the best experience. The final stretch of the trek is very steep. You have to climb a huge rock, which has 80 degrees of inclination.
We will get Bhadra River Bridge, the initial trail from this bridge is a completely muddy trail. During the monsoon season, it can be very slippery and Full of Monsters 😁 ( The Great Leeches ).
There is large amount of leeches in this trek compared to Kudremukha.
After completing Muddy Trails and Roads and when we are exiting from the forest section, we will see beautiful valleys and Hills. Then we have to conquer Steep Path and the great Views from Kurinjaal Peak.
We visited during Monsoon Season, One of the best experience but you have to take care of those leeches.
Apply Dettol, Salts etc etc etc... Trekking in this section is challenging as you encounter leeches at every each steps.

The waterfall known as Koodaluthirtha features a stream of water that drops 300 feet into a shallow pool. It is an excellent destination for visitors year-round, including during the summer and rainy seasons. The falls are particularly chilly in March, despite it being summertime. The falls are accessible from 9am to 3pm; after 4:00 PM, entry is prohibited by local authorities and requires a walk of approximately one kilometer.
One of the best fall I visited… visited in May1st, small fall is there even though it is summer. Very good place to get into water and enjoy. Very nice trek inside rain forest.
Drive is awesome… roads are good almost… little stretch road work in progress and difficult to drive… apart that everything is very nice.

This place is magical. 100/100
You have to walk through forest for 1.5km to reach this point. But every steps is worth. You can also enter into water and enjoy. I went with my friend to just enjoy the trekking and to see the water fall. But once you reach there you can’t help but you will also jump into the water even if you don’t have spare dress.
Things to note:
1. The way near the falls is slippery you should be very careful. It is difficult to walk with bare foot on the rocks.
2. Only one shop is there at the starting point. Better you carry snacks and drinking water. You will definitely get tired.
3. Those who rely on the Google maps to reach there should download the offline map. There is no network there.

A wonderful place to visit any time (summer and rainy and winter) i had visited the falls in the month of March even though it was summer phase the falls was very cold and water, I spent around 4 hours there, even after that long time we couldn't able to leave the place. Request to visit the place between 9am to 3pm by 4:00 PM falls entry will be closed and local authorities will not allow to enter after 3:30PM because we need walk around 1km by walk. The way brings you the great trucking experience.

I didn't have slightest of expectation that a waterfall would be having this much flow during hot summer of March. But an amazing experience. Through the lush green thick forest we reached the waterfall. The entry fee was 100/- per person. They have changing and washroom facilities as well near the ticket counter. Be careful the rocks are very slippery and sharp.

Never miss this place if you visit Agumbe ever. It's located about 25 away from Agumbe town. Entry allowed only till 3 pm and you can spend till 4 pm. Entry fee RS 100. About 3 Kms road is damaged but the vehicle can go. A small shop selling bread omelette, tea, snacks only available at this location. The rest room is available. You need to walk 2 Kms through the dense forest , it's a steep path but steps are there. We took about an hour to reach there and 30 minutes while coming back. Once you see the destination you will feel ecstasy. We visited in January , but still water is there. You should take care of the trekking; leaches are there and the stones in the water are heavily slippery. You will be fined if you litter the plastic bottles there, so keep the bottles in the bag.

The best you will see.
Awesome hike till falls.
However, if you arrive before 9AM, most probably you won’t find any forest officer there and you can just start your hike.
However on your way back, you will be stoped to pay for the hike, since it’s a reserved forest and comes under Someshwara wildlife sanctuary.
However, better to start early, there won’t be any crowd and you will love it there

Koodlu Theertha Falls is a mesmerizing waterfall located near Hebri on Udupi-Agumbe Road in Karnataka. Nestled amidst the dense forest of the Western Ghats and adjacent to the Agumbe ranges the waterfall is the first fall of the River Sita. It is also known as Sita Falls. The waterfall is known to be one of the most beautiful and most pristine falls in Karnataka by all standards.
The mesmerizing beauty of Koodlu Theertha Falls
The Koodlu Theertha is a spectacular waterfall that descends from a height of about 300 feet. It plunges straight into a pond. Legend has it that thousands of years ago sages used to meditate near the place where the pond exists today. As such, the local people consider the water of the pond to be very holy.
Apart from the scenic beauty of the water taking a deep plunge from the mountains above, the place is also known for its serene atmosphere. The calm and tranquillity found near the waterfall is only disturbed by the roar of the water falling from the high position. Else, the uninhabited area is a place that is far removed from the hustle bustle of city life and nature seems to rule over the place.
The pond where the water drops down is not very deep. Visitors can walk to a point where they can actually stand beneath the falling water and enjoy a refreshing bath. However, since the water falls from a great height, it drops down with immense force. As such, when the water strikes your head it feels like nails are being driven into your head. This is why visitors need to exercise caution while putting their head under a thick stream of water.
Trekking to Koodlu Theertha Falls
Situated deep within the forest, Koodlu Theertha has remained as an isolated beauty that can only be reached by trekking through the dense forest. The trek route passes through the forest for some time before arriving at the banks of river Sita. In order to reach the waterfall trekkers have to cross the river Sita through a bridge built across it. The trek route penetrates further into the forest for about 4 km before it reaches a small stream. After crossing the stream and trekking for some more distance the fascinating Koodlu Theertha Falls unravels itself before the trekkers.
Though the trek is a long and tiring one and passes through a difficult terrain, the spectacular view of the waterfall rejuvenates trekkers and relieves them of their tiredness.
Best time to visit Koodlu Theertha Falls
Best time to visit the waterfall is during the months of August to December. This is the time when the flow of water is more in volume and the waterfall becomes more fascinating to watch.
Information for visitors
Since the waterfall is located deep within the forest area, there are no shops nearby. The nearest shops are located at Hebri. So, it is better to carry snacks and water while trekking to the waterfall.
The forest area is known to be infested with leeches, especially during the monsoon season. One easy way to ward off the leeches is by applying lime or salt. Local people also recommend the use of tobacco leaves for warding off the leeches.
During the rainy season the river Sita increases in volume. This results in flooding of the bridge used for crossing the river. As such, trekkers cannot use the bridge. This makes the trek route longer. The alternate route passes through a hilly terrain that extends over 1.5 km and makes the trek longer by about 30 minutes.
An interesting piece of information is that there is another waterfall in the region above the Koodlu Theertha Falls, situated deep within the forest. It is called Manga Theertha which means Monkey Theertha. It is named so as it is believed that only monkeys can reach this waterfall. The path is very steep and leads to deep inside the forest.
Attractions near the Koodlu Theertha Falls
There are several tourist attractions situated in the areas surrounding the Koodlu Theertha waterfall. A few popular attractions are:
Agumbe: Agumbe is a picturesque village located at a distance of about 20 km from the waterfall. The village is famous as the Cherrapunji of Sou

Do not expect a big waterfall as this one is certainly not. The water is cold enough to give a refreshing experience once you wet your legs!!

Location of the water falls is good.. But people who visit this place, literally spoil it. I wonder how can people carry shampoo and take bath in such a beautiful tourist attraction? Forest guards are present only to sell tickets but none of the person present near the water falls to stop people from littering or using shampoo. This is a natural tourist spot and the same water goes to all other places and people also drink the same water. Travel responsibly and keep the places clean.

There is no entry tickets for dharshanam and it’s free with little wait time in queue in week days and in week ends it’s takes up to 30mins of wait time…and if you wish for special dharshanam you can buy tickets.
Before dharshanam in temple we have to go to NETRAVATHI RIVER and dip there after that only we have to enter the temple.
Male (boys) should remove their shirt during dharshanam and after dharshanam you will be provided annadanam (prasadam) to eat which is awesome. They provide food for thousands and lakes of people everyday for free.
We also can stay in free rooms provided by the temple where we have to provide our aadhar cards to them and pay 30/- rupees for one room (there is no charging slots in rooms and toilets) but in front of the rooms only free toilets are provided).
Roads are good to travel. Travelling in ghat roads gives us never ending memories and joy with beautiful scenery and hills with 360• covered by greenery but a little danger too to travel . And other road has no ghat sections but only with greenery nature and beautiful views.

The Dharmasthala temple dates back 800 years
It's a holy place of Manjunatheshwara (aka Dharmasthala manjunatha) temple environment is nice along with best temperature, if you are visiting pls plan in weekdays to avoid much of crowd or rush and if ur visiting in weekends or public Holiday's pls plan accordingly as there will too much of unavoidable que and which will consume hours of time for final darshana (vision) ending up lot of day time wastage, there was decently moderate que when we visited (29/12/2023) and took nearly 3hrs.
Negative -1 ⭐ is because the annadanam pls where they just throw the items and go just to do the job, which makes the places dirty and sticky to feet while walking on bare foot 👣, instead waiting for second and serving would avoid lot of food wastage on spillage on ground (no complaints on taste or quality of food).

The temple has a very extensive queue system, which is efficiently managed by the temple authorities. We waited for nearly an hour and a half in line, but the darshan of Mahadev was truly serene. The annadhana at 1.00pm was a delightful experience. The dining hall was impeccably constructed and maintained, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere of the temple.

One of the famous temples in Karnataka. You must visit this place with friends and family and also visit a vintage car museum. Anna Prasada is also provided to devotees twice daily, in the afternoon and at night. Here, lots of guest houses are available. Nearby Ayodhya Atithya Veg restaurant is there from temple to restaurant, approximately 1 km. One of the best restaurants. Nearby Subramanya Road railway station is around 40–45 km from Dharmasthala temple.

Positive vibes. Recommend to do darshan in morning. By afternoon it gets too hot and it’s tough to walk bare foot. Parking is a bit far from the entrance gate.

The best spiritual place in Karnataka.
The temple administration is the best in this country as per my thinking.
Also had temple call Annappa swamy bhetta which will be open for around two months is what I came to know, Annappa is also one of the very power full god in this place.
There are places like museum of ancient materials, museum of cars, aquarium, bahubali statue in the bahubali hills,
The temple also provides free rooms.
There is a dining hall called Anna purna
We get Prasad of Sri Manjunatha everyday from morning around 11am.

The temple was a serene sanctuary, steeped in ancient wisdom and tranquility. Intricate carvings adorned its walls, while the scent of incense filled the air. Devotees bowed in reverence, seeking solace and spiritual enlightenment. The sacred atmosphere instilled a profound sense of peace and connection. A truly divine experience. #SacredSanctuary

This place is surrounded by scenic environments, roads connecting to the temple are in good condition. The waiting time in the queue was around 30 to 60 mins, when I visited on a Saturday. The Crowd is more during weekends.
There is a bus stand nearby temple. We will get buses to Mysore, Mangalore etc..
The car parking area is big. . There is a veg hotel near the temple premises, it was good in food quality and hygienic.
There is a separate counter for luggage deposits. It was free of cost. It was useful.
Overall, this temple is a must visit place. Don't miss it.

Had Devine experience being in this temple. The processions and deity idol are celestial. There is very good parking facility and decent places to stay around the temple. Annadanam at the temple is a unique experience. Would suggest people to experience if anyone happens to visit. Food is 👍 great. Good restaurants are available at walkable distance from temple. One can book utsava and seva tickets online. Traditional attire is mandatory for both men and women.

➡️ Temple timings are 7:30AM to 1:30PM and 3:30PM to 8:30PM.
➡️ We reached temple by bikes on road from Namdroling golden temple to here. If you come through the road it will truly be a different level of experience on the road through the jungle and more than 10+waterfalls on the road to here.
➡️ Many hotels are available around temple to stay here at affordable prices.
➡️ No entry ticket needed.

Many appreciate the temple's architectural beauty and the cultural richness embedded in its rituals. This place is one of the few places where you feel the genuine positive vibrations when you’re in the temple radar. Such a beautiful and powerful temple where Subrahmanya blesses each and every one who steps inside the campus.
We went during holiday season and it was pretty crowded. Good for kids and family friendly.
Parking is also available nearby to the temple.

This richest temple of Karnataka is a must visit place if one is planning a pilgrim tour. Set against the backdrop of the picturesque Western Ghats, this divine place Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple is visited by thousands and thousands of pilgrms every day. The influx of devotees is overwhelming during holiday season. So it is always better to make an off-season visit between January and March as the pilgrim rush will be relatively less and we can visit the shrine conveniently

The best place which is surrounded by the thick forest. The rooms are available for the pilgrims who want to halt but they can be booked offline only, the rooms are provided for the family of Max 12-15 members. They provide free service of luggage storing while entering the temple and also separate areas are preserved for footwear too. It was a very neat area and as usual men pilgrims are required to remove the shirt & banian while taking the Swami darshan. The Prasad package will be given for the pilgrims who pay for it not for all. Even the anna Prasad is also provided for the Prasad recipients only. All types of sevas can be done by making online payment. You can reach out to this temple via train as well "Subrahmanya road (SBHR)" is the train stop which is just 20mins away from the temple. The trains are available for those who are coming from Bangalore, Mangalore etc.
Note: Photography is strictly prohibited inside the temple.

An outstanding spiritual destination and one of Karnataka's must visit temple!
The temple carries lot of significance and most prominent for Sarpa dosha parikara pooja.
The temple is located amidst hills, beautiful ambience and well maintained premises offer good positive experience to the devotees. Evening Bandi pooja is also very special in the temple where the Urchavar is taken around the temple couple of times in a pallak.
Prasadam is available at a cost of Rs.100, which includes a small bottle of thertam water.
There are several lodges, hotels and restaurants around the temple premises.
Less than a Km walkable distance from main bus stand.
There was traditional folk based dance/drama song recital of Ramayanam when we had visited. It was a great visual experience.
Hot during Summers and crowded during holidays/weekends.
Balaji Kannan — Google review
It was very crowded as we had visited during govt holidays so it would be easy to have a prior booking of the rooms in Kukke subhramanya swamy temple of planning to visit on holidays and it is better to purchase tickets online for pujas as there was so huge line at the ticket counter early in the morning at 4am. The ticket counter opens exactly at 6am so people stand in line before the time. Some puja tickets are available online and for other pujas should purchase at the temple ticket counter.

A religious place to cleanse your soul & mind. Calm & quiet. The temple is always filled with devotes from all across the country. Surely people are always eager to get the darshan of the deity first so pushing around happens. The prasadam is simple yet nice & free for all.

Best temple to visit during all time. There's Kumaradhara River which is 2.3km away from the Subrahmanya swamy temple, a place where you can take bath and go to temple for dharshana. Temple is well maintained by the management but people should keep it clean as there're so many slippers scattered here and there, there's separate place allocated for slippers which is well maintained and free of cost.
Best place to visit with family and friends.

Positive Beliefs of this temple are strong. As I went on Sasti day, one can expect long queues and untidy places as Hindu pilgrims still don't bother for cleanliness. But when you enter the Abode you forget everything.

Very thankful to the temple authorities for maintaining such a facility...
One more bad experience near temple, one shop near parking area, siddipoornamba variety centre, The snacks are of very low quality, the bad smell was coming, we bought it for small kids, which is very dangerous for their health. When we asked the shopkeeper to smell or taste the same, he denied. See how they know the reality and still selling such dangerous products to bhakts of Amma..

Food will be provided everyday for anyone who visits throughout the year. Food here is a must whenever you visit .

Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple is a serene and beautiful place dedicated to the Goddess of nourishment. The temple has a peaceful atmosphere and stunning architecture. Devotees are treated to free meals as part of a sacred tradition. Surrounded by lush greenery, it's a perfect spot for introspection and connecting with divinity. A visit here is a truly blissful experience. 🌸🙏

We visited 7 temples in 2 days and this was the last place we planned to visit and it was worth.
We prayed standing in front of the idol for 5 minutes and no one to push us.
We visited at such a time that we saw the mahamangalarati as well.
The Anna prasada was also amazing 👏

Mallalli Falls is a picturesque natural area that offers visitors the chance to witness multi-tiered waterfalls set amidst stunning lush scenery. While the falls are truly amazing, access to them requires descending over 700 steps, which can be a thrilling experience for some but may not be recommended for elderly individuals. Due to safety concerns and several fatalities in the past, the government has implemented strict restrictions around accessing and playing near the falls.
This is an amazing waterfalls. The journey to the falls will surely tire you, but it's definitely worth the visit. You will have to climb down around 800 steps to reach the falls. Sometimes the entry will be restricted during heavy water season. You can ask about it with shopkeepers at the parking area before you climb down. Best time to visit would be September to December.

The falls is one of the top falls in Karnataka. Must visit in monsoon. The water level is extremely good and treat to your eyes. There are steps on the way to the falls, and be careful on the leaches out there. In monsoon, umbrella and raincoat are must to visit the falls. Also try to bring another set of clothes as a extra precaution. There are no good food options available nearby. Kushalnagar is one of the options for food.
It is a must visit place in monsoon.

Worth getting down those steps to witness a wonderful view.
Visit only in Winter or at the end of rainy seasons.
Car parking fees as of today is 60/-
You will get snacks and coffee/tea near the parking lot.
Better to download offline maps for ease.
amar bhargav — Google review
This almighty fall looks very beautiful during monsoon. It gives an amazing view from different view points.
No entry fees to enter the fall. Paid Parking is available. There are eateries outside so no problem with food and water.
There are many steps which we need to take to reach to the bottom of waterfall. But you cannot go near waterfall or swim or play. You can view it from fence. It gets difficult and tiring for elders to climb up and back steps.
Better to go early morning or evening to avoid crowd and sun.

Majestic falls beautiful.. u can visit the place for free only parking charges are there. Place has 700 steps and is dog friendly. U can not go near the falls but can enjoy the view

Mallalli falls is beautiful,we had been last week, the water levels is less, we are not allowed to play in the waterfalls.
One has to get down some 600+ stairs and climbing would be a big challenge,so plan accordingly. Keep yourself hydrated.
There are 03 stalls near the entrance of the waterfalls, basic snacks, juice and limited flavoured rice items one can expect.
Parking space is available and a minimum entry fees is taken.
Washroom facility is available but condition can be better.
The best time to visit is during Monsoon season to witness the beauty of the waterfalls.

The water falls are Amazing. We have to step down 700 + steps , is so thrilling. The Govt has put restrictions down as few people died. Even it is not safe to go to waterfalls to play with . The force of waterfalls is very huge hence fencing has put.
The waterfalls are looking good throughout your trekking down. This may not be suggested for elderly people .
We visited on 20th Nov 2021

The place is very beautiful. The water fall is a blessing to the eyes. Went in mid November, the water was less but still it is very mesmerizing. There around 600-650 steps which you need to take for reaching the waterfall. Swimming is not allowed. Fencing is done so that you can see it from a distance. There is ample parking space available. A few shops are also available with snacks. Beware of the goons in the name of tourist police there.

Very beautiful place to visit during monsoons. Have to walk about 30 steps for this view. If you want to go very close to the falls you will have to get down about 600+ steps. We did not go much further as it was raining. Will definitely visit again sometime during monsoon.

Beautiful Place to Visit. Have to go down the steps to get the proper view of the waterfall. Better to go in morning or evening since there are steps to climb while returning from the falls. There are parking fees and also some shops are also available at the parking spot.

Magnificent waterfalls yet very dangerous . Water Cascades through the rocks creating shower of waterdrops on you if you stand in front of it. Need to climb down 600 steps to witness the beauty from near .The falls is fenced through entire viewing area due to its dangerous nature as the waterflow may rise at anytime .Many people have lost their lives here so they have taken strict measures to prevent any accidents.

Absolutely gorgeous, must visit if you're in Sakleshpur....
You would have to walk(stairs) for 20-30 minutes to the waterfalls, could be tiring for older people but surely is worth that.
Usually open for all everyday, best time to visit this place would be in Monsoon, the waterfalls will have increased water flow.
You wouldn't have to worry about parking either...

Nice place to spend a weekend. After parking the vehicle one should walk down 750 steps to grab this beauty on your eyes 😍. Returning back will be a task though.. 🙄
Note: Tourists must not throw the waste water bottles and plastic wrappers in the premises. Authorities should increase the no.of dust bins as well. They are taking Rs. 50 parking charges (4W) for nothing..

Such a mind-blowing view of the waterfall,,,
The real essence of nature could be experienced there. There are lot of homestays nearby and some of the homestays will be having trekking facilities there ....
Best time to visit is from June to December (water flows through the falls throughout the year)
Enjoy your monsoon vibes here
Don't forget to reach there before 5:00 pm coz the guards won't allow you inside after 5:00 pm

one of the best waterfalls in india. Visit early trek down through the steps and witness the magic of monsoon.
Try visiting early in the morning around 8 AM to avoid crowds.
waterfalls is fenced near the plunge due to multiple deaths over the year so don't expect to swimming and other crazy things.
Roads are too good and food is also available near parking.

Beautiful waterfall view point not allowed to take bath and go near to the water.
TT parking at top of the mountain. Charge would be 100rs. Trip down to falls is long and around 600 steps in stairs. Coming back will be tiresome. Pack water. Gives u good trekking experience.
Elderly people can avoid going all the way down. There is view from up top within 100steps.
There are shops near entry point that sells snacks, drinks and fast food at higher price.

Absolutely gorgeous.
The road to the waterfall is full of greenery and flowers.
Visited this in December and still it was having good water flow. No wait time.
Requires a 15 min trekking through the stairs. But best to visit in Monsoon to
experience the absolute best greenery.
Small shops are on the top for snacks and drinks. Washroom is there bt the condition can be bit better.

have to pay for the parking, we paid 60/- for the car, 20/- for bike i guess. visited on the off season, a cool place to visit if your nearby rather than all the other popular places. had fun time while descending and climbing those 1200 steps (up and down). wish there was some space to sit and enjoy the view of the falls, we used the stairs anyways, but would have been cool if there's some space dedicated for it.

Worth visiting, fantabulous waterfall with picturesque views. The walk is a bit tiring - while reaching the spot, you go 600 steps down, but while returning back, it might need significant efforts. Not advisable for those with low stamina, joint pain, elderly.

Pure nature but the trek while getting down the stairs and climbing it again more than 45 years of adults is not at all recommended.
We enjoyed the trek while getting down and enjoyed the awesome view of the water falls one of the most recommended places to visit but a little hard while climbing back the hill and the stairs are too high
Over all worth watching the view here are few glimpse of the waterfalls which are captured by myself.

Don't visit if you are going in winter and summer season. Because there is less water flow and you have to see waterfall from very far. You cannot step in water.
I think waterfall must look more beautiful in rainy season.

Beautiful Falls. You got to go down around 500+ Steps. But unfortunately its fenced and its hard to get a Good look at the Falls once you reach the End of Stairs. Would be Good if Govt make some arrangement to have a good view of the Falls.
Remains of a unique star-shaped fort built on a mountain in 1792 by Tipu Sultan.
Awesome tourist destination. If you have drone camera it will be a best site for photography. Photos on star edges will give you unique experience. You can visit this place any season but prefer visiting between August to February. Because the nature is at its peak. Their will be a drizzling and cool weather would make you feel energetic. You need to walk of stepup to reach the destination.

The top view of the fort shows it as a star shaped fort just a few kilometers from Sakleshpura. You need to park your car on road side and walk some 200 meters till you find the steps to climb.
There are more than 250 steps to climb before you reach the entry gate. Entry is in fact free. There are 2 dungeons inside the fort which are very small. The view of western ghats from the fort is awesome.
Overall, it will be nice visit to the fort specially in the winter season.

Okay to visit but not much is there other than broken walls. In actual its not looks like that what we search in Google and saw in pics. Not at all recommended for old age people as it required very long stairs to climb up.
If weather is good then you can enjoy views from top but try to avoid in summer.

A star shaped fort located at the cliff. I need to climb a few steps to reach the top, which could be tiring during summer weather. It is very nice to see the star based architecture and the centre well. View towers at the eight wing end. Better to visit during mild weather to avoid the tiredness.

Nice fort with a good view of the surrounding sights. Being used mostly for keeping an eye on the aggressors entering the kingdom, it is not a very large fort but has a lot of watch towers for a view in different directions.
PS: It has quite a few flight of stairs which might make it a little difficult to access for the aged or people with arthritis etc.

The fort, as built and existing, is an eight-pointed star. Pathway which is leading to entrance steps is under construction when we visited

Great place to see, Tipu sultans fort for the military.
Can find how they strategically built this fort with hideouts, self equipped built in rain water sump, and much more.
Seems good photoshoot location if less crowded. Can spend 30 to 40 minutes inside. Might have to climb stairs for about 20 mins.

One of the famous tourist place to visit once if you are planning to Sakleshpur side. It is Nice fort with good landscape view but unfortunately not properly maintained and lot of littering around the place. One needs to initially walk for 500 meters and then climb steps of around 250-300 steps to reach the fort. There is limited parking space on the road and few stalls/shops for quick snacks or juices. Overall Ok to visit once if you haven't seen it yet.

Awesome place where we can see the best architecture of a mankind with a limited source. Shape of the fort is perfect star shapes without any errors, we need to be fit to reach the fort because we need to climb more than 400 steps and 1km in height. Main gate of the fort open at 8:00 am, parking facility is too bad, we need to reach location early otherwise we unable to get the nearby parking. Eatables and plastic bags are not allowed. People already started to ruin this place.

If you visit, be aware that there are approximately 250 steps to climb. No detour is required because it is right on the major highway. The fort is truly beautiful, evoking a bygone period.
It is disappointing to see that the government is not investing in turning this into a tourist destination by adding information via boards or audio/visuals. They could make some money off of this, but at least they would be educating visitors about the area's illustrious past.

Fort is good. Be ready to climb some 300 odd stairs to reach the fort. Climbing is very steep. No entrance charges. It closes sharp at 5pm and security will force you out by 5:30. Views from the fort is good but not maintained properly by the authorities At least the grass and wild weeds should be cut. Apart from that the fort is very beautiful and yes it definitely holds some past with it.

Visiting Manjarabad Fort was truly enchanting! Nestled amidst the lush Western Ghats, this historical gem captured my heart. The journey to the fort was an adventure, with winding roads revealing the breathtaking natural beauty around every turn. Its distinctive star-shaped architecture added a sense of grandeur to its historical importance. However, I couldn't locate any restroom facilities, and parking was a bit challenging as we had to park on the roadside along the busy Sakleshpura highway.

Nice fort with a scenic view, unfortunately tourists have ruined the place, it's not maintained properly...
Around 250 to 200 steps to climb, steps are manageable with kids ( number sounds big but we didn't face any trouble from kids while climbing).
Roadside parking facility and few ahops/hotels for quick snacks.

The fort doesn't require a ticket or parking charges. There is a long walk of around 30 mins to reach and includes around 100 stairs.
Quite a large area to roam around, if the weather is clear you can even see the Arabian Sea with a good lens.
You can carry your pets along, but definitely keep them on leash.
There are quite a few eateries near the fort entrance, but beware of monkeys.

Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka, standing at a height of 1,925 meters. It offers stunning views and houses a summit temple that can be accessed by foot. The peak is a must-visit destination for people who enjoy hiking or trekking and is relatively easy to climb with just 500 steps. Visitors are advised to be cautious about not leaving any waste behind as they enjoy the scenic beauty of this iconic location at sunrise or sunset.
Karnatakas highest mountain peak. It's a beautiful view from the top. To reach this spot, you can either travel from Kemmangundi side or Chickmagalur town and take the route towards Bababudangiri. Google for some reason points to BBgiri and shows some 18km to reach from the mainroad junction where as the fact is it's just about 7km and takes about 30 mins to reach here by car. The road towards the end is scary though, and no barricades in a few spots!! After parking you need to take a uphill walk. This is quiet steep but I've seen even old people do this. It would take no longer than 15 to 20 min to climb to the peak. At the peak, there is a Shiva temple where you can meditate.
The view is beautiful and the sunset looks amazing from here. But recommend don't stay here till dark, else driving becomes scary.
Another big problem during weekends is the parking can become difficult and sometimes crazy drivers could create a deadlock in the narrow road. So be wise while driving.

A place that can give you goosebumps, especially when you are on the driver's seat. The ghat roads when you almost reach the cliff is just breathtaking. It's so beautiful and thrilling at the same time. It's definitely a must visit place when you are in Chikmagalur, as you will witness such an amazing view from the top of the peak.
The roads on the top are very narrow, hardly two cars can fit on the entire path, at some points only one. Also, there is not much protection on the edge of the cliff, so be very very careful while driving and parking the vehicle, don't be in a hurry. Also, there's a temple on the way up from where only smaller vehicles are allowed. So any vehicle bigger than a jeep, like a tempo traveller or mini bus would have to stop at that point. But you will find jeeps available to hire, just to take you to the top area of the peak, from where you can trek a bit if you wish.
The best part was descending the hill, because we were able to witness one of the best sunsets. It felt as if we were so close to heaven. It's really hard to express such a sight in words or even through the lens of a camera, but if you can try, then try being there during the sunset.

* Yellow Taxi Cars are not allowed at the top hence either take Yellow plate Jeep OR Auto OR self driven cars.
* Approx 500 steps of trekking to be done to reach the peak.
* Carry one bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated. Do not carry baggage with you as you will get exhausted climbing stairs.
* If it is cloudy it will reduce the visibility to less than 20 mtrs, if it is sunny it might be hot but you will surely enjoy the view 360 degrees.
* You will get charcoal cooked Corn, sweetcorn, Maggie, Tea and chips to eat at the foot of the hills. Do not expect more than these items to be served at this height.
* You will cross many hair bend pins, small waterfalls, lot of monkeys.
* You can spend unto 2-3 hrs. in this place with family.

Mullayanagiri Peak is the highest peak in Karnataka and its approx 6400 feet above sea level. It's 30km approx from the main city(IG Park). You should go to this place in the early morning. The perfect time to visit this is in the month of September to February. This place is a spectacular attraction in Chikmagalur also known for its jaw-dropping natural beauty.
According to the regional mythology, Tapasvi Mullappa Swamy observed meditation for years at the cave on top of the Mullayanagiri peak. This is the reason why the peak got its present identity. The old Kannada literature, however, relates the term ‘Mullai’ to the forests. The caves at the top of the Mullayanagiri hills are not so deep and have an entrance that directly leads you to the temple’s garbhagudi.
To go up It has total of 450 to 500 steps which will take 20mins to 30mins approx. And while going above you will feel the weather. There is nothing to worry about before going above. You will get the Maggi shops while going up and with that, you might get a few fried rice and murmuri and many more things.

Mullayanagiri, the crown jewel of Karnataka, offers an experience that's both exhilarating and serene. The climb to the peak is an adventure in itself. The ghats twist and turn, offering glimpses of the lush green valleys below. Be prepared for narrow roads, but the views are absolutely worth it. The weather at the top is a delightful change from the plains. Even on a warm day, there's a crispness in the air that's incredibly refreshing. The highest point is a short walk from the parking area. The trail is well-maintained and offers stunning views along the way. The view from the top is nothing short of breathtaking. Then you will have to pass through winding roads with a gentle gradient , scenery was good, you can reach the top of the peak by walk or by some mode of vehicle. There were local ice creams sold at the top of the peak.

We went to Mullayanagiri Peak by 9 am and it was little crowded. We have seen mist for around 30 minutes and all the mist got disappeared. To reach the peak it took us around 30 minutes. Worth visiting this place with family and try to reach here by early morning to enjoy the mist.

Staying for a day or weekend is very good and peaceful to enjoy with family. You should visit this place with a group of people to enjoy it to fullest. There are different cottages, in which few are with attached bathroom and few are shared between few families. I recommend to book only on a weekend as weekdays there won't be any crowd and service will impact due to small crowd.
People are very helpful and calm and appreciate the effort put in place to make this place wonderful.

Terrible Experience - Avoid This Resort!
I recently had the misfortune of staying at this resort, and I cannot express enough how disappointed I am with my experience. From start to finish, it was an absolute nightmare.
First of all, the customer service was abysmal. The entrance road poorly maintained and it damaged our car and the staff seemed completely uninterested in assisting guests and were downright rude. It felt like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to stay there. I had several questions and requests, but each time I approached the staff, they brushed me off or gave me incorrect information. It was frustrating and infuriating.
Next, let's talk about the condition of the resort. It was in a state of disrepair, with broken furniture, peeling paint, and dirty carpets. The rooms were filthy and smelled like they hadn't been cleaned in months. The bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets were stained. I couldn't get a good night's sleep due to the noise from nearby construction, which was conveniently not mentioned during the booking process.
The amenities promised on their website were either non-existent or subpar. The pool was tiny pool murky and poorly maintained. The restaurant served tasteless and overpriced food, and the waitstaff was slow and inattentive.
To top it all off, the location was terrible. The resort was situated in a remote area, far away from any attractions or conveniences. It felt isolated and unsafe, especially during the evening when there were barely any lights around. Don't believe edited images of resort on Google and no proper games are there and not worth spending time there
Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this resort. It was a complete waste of money and ruined my vacation. Save yourself the trouble and find a better place to stay. You deserve a relaxing and enjoyable experience, which this resort definitely does not provide.

This place is located before Sakleshpura and the total area is comparatively less.. Don't have high expectations about the activities, it's very limited and basic. The food is not good. Stay is okay only if you prefer cottages. Overall value for money is less..

First of all an agent who was dealing with this resort made our booking. We found him through Facebook. He never sent the full amount to the resort nor mentioned that he was an agent.
The owner says he doesn't know the agent and tries to scam us.
The first room which we booked online by reviewing the pictures was a horrible experience as the room didn't quite look like that. We were forced to take higher priced rooms, even then the room wasn't clean.
If you are promised a buffet here you don't get one.
The food over there was worse than what you get at hostels. Me and my girlfriend got food poisoning.
About the games and activities i would say they are a timepass although board games are poorly maintained
Staff is friendly but they are not equipped with the proper resources.
We thought we would have a rest but ended up sick.

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to stay at Farmer's Son Resort, and I must say it was a truly nightmarish experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place was a complete disaster.
The staff at Farmer's Son Resort were rude and unhelpful. They displayed a shocking lack of professionalism and were clearly disinterested in providing any sort of quality service. They seemed to be inconvenienced by our presence and were slow to respond to any of our requests. It was evident that customer satisfaction was not a priority for them.
Moving on to the accommodations, the rooms were in an appalling state. They were dirty, shabby, and clearly in need of maintenance. The bedding was stained and had a musty odor, making it impossible to have a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was no better, with a leaky faucet, clogged drains, and an overall lack of cleanliness. It was truly a nightmare to spend time in such unhygienic conditions.
The pool was murky and uninviting, and it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in ages.
To add insult to injury, the dining experience at Farmer's Son Resort was nothing short of a disaster. The food was tasteless, poorly prepared, and overpriced. The limited menu options were disappointing, and the service in the restaurant was incredibly slow. We left feeling both hungry and deeply dissatisfied with the entire dining experience.
This place failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality. I strongly urge anyone considering staying at this resort to look elsewhere for a truly enjoyable and comfortable vacation experience.

Rooms were neet and clean.
Common bathroom and toilet is what we hated.Happened to wait long time in the morning to do ur morning duties.
complimentary Foods - Not a worth of it.
Games and activities : That was Fun and nice to play most of the games at on place.

A good getaway place for friends or family with decent accommodation and amenities. We opted for a bamboo cottage, which comfortably accommodates 2 people. However, the only downside is the limited washroom facilities. With 6 cottages (hosting 12 members), they provide only 2 washrooms, which can be quite inconvenient. Additionally, since it's a shared space, cleanliness might not meet expectations. Nevertheless, the property is very spacious, allowing ample time to spend together with loved ones. The food provided was also decent, with three buffet meals offered. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time together.

We visited this resort for the occasion of new year 2024. The ambiance and first impression was good. But the reality snapped when we had lunch. It was definitely not good. All the items were cold and were not cooked properly. Very few choices of menu. No cleanliness maintained in lunch hall. Later we personally called the manager and conveyed our dissatisfaction. He told he'll see to it and said the dinner would be good.
We then played some rope games, cycling etc. The swimming pool was too small for adults.children would enjoy the swimming pool.
Coming to dinner part...we thought dinner would be good atleast but no....even dinner wasn't good...no taste..unworthy for the money they charged us. Even coffee and snacks were bad.
I think the management should change there. The environment...rooms... amenities were good. The main problem is food.
Pavithra gowda — Google review
Had been to this resort with family and friends for new year celebration. Decent resort, scope for improvement in food, however free visited already gave good feedback on food. May be due to crowd we felt so….. by design, rest rooms are setup outside the room we booked. It would have been better if a board is put out stating the rest rooms are for people in specific cottage. Else, it’s easily misunderstood as common area. This resort has friendly pets, supportive staff…..
Suresh K — Google review
Overall the resort is very good. The facilities need to be updated and maintained in accordance with the usage.
I wanted to do the cycling but the bicycles were all with flat tyres and could not do the cycling.
Though the resort is alcohol free could see the beer bottles here and there. Requested several times with the front office staff to clear the bottles near the badminton court but it never happened till 4pm.
The pool is very small and no heater facility in it. The water was freezing cold and could not use the pool.
The service standards need to be improved in accordance with the tariff charges.

We stayed here on Jan 27, Good resort, food was good. They prepare as per our order if paid extra. Non veg was good. Only need to improve chapati, rest all ok.
Pool is very small, only one family could play at time. Other activities were good.
Location and surrounding greenary was awesome.

Last week we went as a Team outing, one of the worst trip we had till date. Staff behaviour was pathetic, no proper arrangements.
It's a water tank and pretend that's it's a swimming pool.
1. Food is so so, not delicious
2. Outdoor & Indoor sports - No comments as there are nothing
3. They didn't cleaned the rooms, we found condoms (I suppose they provide that facility)
4. Behaviour of staff - you don't want to talk with the.
Request everyone think twice and then go to this place.

The Sri Chennakeshava Swamy Temple Belur is a historic and culturally significant Hindu temple complex renowned for its intricate stone carvings and sculptures. The temple boasts of elaborate detailing, with some monuments containing such fine details that the bangles in women statues can be rotated. A representation of great culture, visiting the temple is highly recommended, and hiring a guide is advisable as there are many details that cannot be understood alone.

Peaceful experience where u feel nature is close to you. Food and service were good too. The calmness is what you need to relax and rejuvenate. The only sound is of the nature. The birds, the water, rustling of leaves as if the nature is having a conversation with you. All in all a good stay.

Not a pleasant experience.
1. December is not the right season. March I'm told is better for animal sighting. We only spotted a heard of deer and nothing else.
2. There is an early morning 6 am batch and evening batch. Morning one apparently has better chance of sightings. So brave yourself for the early morning freezing cold.
3. These guys say no reservation, first come first serve. So we reached early by 6am and were the second to come in. But to our surprise, the people who came later at around 6:30 were given preference because they had apparently "called" the previous day!?!
4. There is a water safari that happens at the same time as the Jeep Safari!! So you need to stay two days to experience both!! That's not good.
5. Overall, for the effort and the result of watching noting in the 2 hour ride inside the jungle, i don't think this is worth it.

I had an amazing experience at Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary near Lakkavalli, just 32 km from Shimoga town. Despite the counter being closed during our 4 pm visit, we managed to arrange a Jeep safari through a known contact. The sanctuary offers two safari batches from 6 am to 8 am and 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. I highly recommend the evening safari for better wildlife sightings. We encountered a variety of animals including elephants, sambar deer, various types of deer, mongoose, foxes, bears (karadi), squirrels, peacocks, bison, jungle cocks, hens, owls, and jungle pigs. Although we missed seeing tigers and leopards, the sanctuary's natural beauty made up for it. The Jeep safari was particularly enjoyable compared to the bus safari. The safari cost ₹600 per person, and next time, I plan to stay at The River Tern Lodge - Junglelodges, which offers accommodation, meals, and safari rides for ₹8,000 per person. Overall, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts.

Peaceful experience where u feel nature is close to you. Food and service were good too. The calmness is what you need to relax and rejuvenate. The only sound is of the nature. The birds, the water, rustling of leaves as if the nature is having a conversation with you. All in all a good stay.

The lake has its own serene beauty, it is calm and clean. However, people polluted the road beside the lake with plastic bottles, although proper litterbin is there. Shame on us ! Coming to the maintenance, The lake is clean and I have observed some buildings being done at the entrance, hopefully to make the place more attractive for tourists. Overall, the beauty is great. The best time to visit is in the morning (around 9:00AM)

The place is just Awesome place, it's a reserve forest, this forest is not maintained by human effort. It's nature maintained. No fallen trees are taken out from this reserve forest. This reserve forest has huge number of Elephants and Tigers
Best time for safari is 4.30pm and 5.30pm batch. By luck only you will get to see elephant, tiger, black leopard.😉😉⭐💯💯💯
You can spend beautiful time with your family in forest.🤘☺️
Awesome ambiance, must visit with family on weekdays.🤘👍🤞👌

A beautiful sanctuary with n number of birds and animals to spot.
You get both BOAT & JEEP ride. Both a very different experiences

Very good place to visit in summer. Wildlife safari is very good. Saw a lot of animals like elephants, peacocks, peahens, deer, boars, monkeys etc. Better go to the safari
office before 3:30pm.

We were waiting for a very long time. But I didn't get tickets for the safari.
Travelled 1km inside, the view was awesome for photography.
Got to see the peacock at the entrance. And there were many monkey's too🤪.

We went on a 2 hr safari but couldn't find a single tiger. The reserve was dry because of summers, not a lot of greenery mostly dried up leaves and trees. Spotted a few others animals though like the elephants, deers lots of them, monekys, langoor, gaur, bison.

1 hour of pure bliss and calmness, got an opportunity to enjoy the jeep safari in Bhadra wildlife sanctuary on the way to Hebbe falls. A totally lush green and calm atmosphere, spotted a lot of deer and other animals.

Went for the safari on 15th Dec & fortunate to be part of 3 hours journey in the forest with the expert forest staff, we could spot bisons, spotted deers, wild boar, elephants and lot of flora and fauna along with rare sighting of elephant breaking bamboo for its food.
Very well managed safari from the forest department at affordable pricing of 600 inr per head.
Every one should experience it atleast once in their lifetime.
Baba Budan giri is a well-known mountain peak featuring a cave shrine dedicated to Baba Budan, a revered Sufi saint from the 1500s who is worshipped by both Hindus and Muslims. It offers an ideal destination for those who love trekking and exploring caves. The trek to this peak covers a distance of around 9-10 kilometers, which can be completed in approximately 5-6 hours in two phases.
Bababudangiri is an amazing trek in the mountains of Chikmagalur, located at a distance of 250 km from Bangalore. It's a very good trek point on the weekends. From here you can see the peaks of Budangiri and Mullayanagiri looming at a distance. Together, the two mountains appear like a crescent moon, therefore known as the Chandra Drona Range.
The Budangiri mountain is also an important pilgrimage for Hindus and Muslims for the legacy of the Sufi saint Baba Budan and the Hindu deity Dattatreya.
Some of the highlights of this trek are- walking on the Blade Ridge on the way to Mullayanagiri, camping and campfire in the forest clearings, ancient cave explorations, and stunning hellscape photography from several viewpoints along the way. The Blooming of the kurinji flowers on the low-lying slopes of the Nilgiris is a rare seasonal attraction in these parts of the hills.
The flowers blossom at an interval of every 12 years, cloaking the entire vicinity in shades of blue, giving the Nilgiri hills its name!

Awesome location
Reached top of the hill early in the morning
Completely covered with mist.
Trekking is available
A small pond is located on top of the hill. Covered with full green, and beautiful flower plants around the lake.
Full cold breeze during the early in the morning.

Beautiful hilltop. This place looks the best during mid monsoon when the lush green flora returns. You'll be amidst clouds so it's always foggy and there's plenty of precipitation. You've got to take a small 500m trek from the parking lot to get to this beautiful peak. There's plenty of places to take the most beautiful pictures and have the best views that your eyes will never forget!

Beautiful view of Deviramma peak from here.
A bit crowded always. Can get some eateries here(costly too). Go 50 steps down n visit little falls called Manikyadhara.

If caves and trekking are what you desire, Bababudangiri is the perfect place for you to visit.
The trek to Baba Budangiri is a moderate level trek that spans a distance of 9 to 10 kilometers and can be completed in approximately 5 – 6 hours and can be completed in 2 phases. The best time for the trek is anytime between September to March as the weather remains mostly pleasant during the day.
Do not park your vehicle on the road or side of the road as the road is narrow and doing so will cause a traffic jam.
Restrooms are available near the entry point, not well-mailnained advisable to avoid it.

Eye catching view at the top of the peak. There are many peaks in continuation of the paths but could climb only 3-4 peaks as it was not so steep and easy to climb. It's not very crowded after 3PM.

A very beautiful and scenic place. One has to take a local Jeep to reach the place as the roads are not in good condition for the last 2 km. But it's a must visit place.
Mayank Sinha — Google review
The view from the peak is magnificent. We parked our car around 3 kms from the peak and trekked. It was 7:30 in the morning and the visibility was only 10-15 metres due to misty weather conditions. We crossed Chandra drona lake on our path. This lake was out of nowhere which adds to the magic of western ghats.
You can find small eatery shops which offer you bread omelette, maagi, tea etc.

Excellent place to visit for the scenic views for other mountain side view.
But place is not clean and badly maintained by users there.
Road to the top is under construction and hence half the strech is not motorable too.

Situated in the Chikkamagalur district of Karnataka, the Baba Budan Range is a popular tourist destination. This is a well-known Muslim and Hindu pilgrimage place that sees large crowds of visitors.
The journey past Dattapeeta, which passes through vast grasslands and winding roads, is what draws me in most. There's also a quick trek to the side hills for a panoramic view of the surrounding range.
Other attractions are Chandra Drona Parvatha, Manikya Dhara, and Galikere.

The drive to Baba Budangiri Hills is an experience in itself. Winding roads snake their way through lush greenery, offering glimpses of the Western Ghats shrouded in mist. As you climb higher, the fog thickens, creating an air of mystery and anticipation. To truly appreciate the beauty of the hills, start your journey early in the morning. The crowds can get thick later in the day, especially at the shrine. The fog, while enchanting, can also limit visibility, so be cautious while driving and enjoy the ethereal atmosphere.
