A beautiful walk to Nairn Falls, filled with rocks, trees and the beautiful Green River. This was a fairly easy hike, although some spots require careful maneuvering. The backside of the falls were almost even more intriguing and beautiful.

Nice well maintained park. We stopped here for one night while passing through. Our site backed on to the river and had a nice view on Mt. Currie. Park staff was helpful and we were able to buy firewood directly from them when they came to our site to check us in. We did the Nairn Falls hike before leaving in the morning which was a nice short hike (under an hour) that leads to a great viewpoint of the falls. Would recommend doing the hike if you are camping there.

Easy walk to the falls and the trail is pretty clear to follow. Would recommend closed toes even if it’s an easy hike, waterfalls were gorgeous! There are a couple of off the trail paths to get closer to the water close to the end of the trail. Plenty of parking spots on a Saturday past lunch. Looked like a nice spot for campers along the water.

Nice, easy/moderate walk to the falls. Last section to the falls is slippery if wet/icy but there is a handrail for support.
Beautiful scenery and foliage. We saw lots of ice hair and poor man's gumdrops along the trail. Perfect Christmas eve day stroll with family.
Free parking and well signed.

Georgios walk through pine forest (smells like Xmas trees from when I was a kid) to the falls. The rocks are a bit slippery, do take care and hold on to the railing/fence.

Just a short 1,,6 km walk from the parking alongside the wild Green River to the Falls!! Amazing views!! Be careful when considering this walk during rainy weather as it may be slippery especially near the Falls. We loved it!!

Pretty strong waterfalls in early April. Good easy hike to the falls in about 1.5 km. Friendly for beginners, families, kids, and pets on leash. Just remember to be careful near the waterfall.

Incredibly beautiful place to go camping, especially for first time goers. The individual campsites are large enough for big tents and vehicles, private enough and great views most of them, especially the ones by the river. There are toilets and drinking water available. What I also liked was that it was permanently patrolled by a park ranger who was also very nice and helpful if needed.
Dragos Ilas — Google review
Interesting falls with evidences of geological formation change over the years, though the falls itself isnt too visible from the viewpoint.
The trail is easy 20 minutes walk (1.5km), and the energy you get from the falls area is surreal. Also, make sure to walk down to the creek along trail to take a break by the ice cold & turqoise colored water.
Parking can be limited on a weekend, but the turnover is pretty quick.
Youngsung Byun — Google review
Really good hike. A bit tougher to do with toddlers as yours have to carry them for 1.5 km.
The sound of the river gets louder as you get further into the hike. The waterfall itself may not be a "big payoff", but the whole hike, through the trees with the river roaring is worth it.
yuvdeep singh (yuvi) — Google review
The falls are spectacular, with several stages, and pools in between, with rock formations to boot. The trail is well-maintained, and smooth. It would be accessible for many people, until the light scrambling on some of the rocks right at the end.

The Park is in a beautiful area of BC, following a scenic drive from Vancouver. The Park is surrounded by some fairly easy hikes and incredible views. The Falls are amazing.
With Park staff that are experienced, welcoming and friendly, this Park is great for out-of-province visits. The campsites were well suited for people looking to experience Beatiful BC for the first time.

Great spot to go. You can hike to the falls. You can hike around the One Mile Lake. Lot of birds in the woods and a river nearby. Hikes are not difficult. Easy trails with a lot of beautiful views. It is great to visit in the morning than in the evening. Parking is free and there is plenty of space for parking. If you can not find parking in the Nirn Falls entrance, there is another parking lot near One Mile Lake on the highway. The spot is tricky and hard to find, but it has a lot of parking space. You may need to walk all the way back if you stop there.

Great little hike to see a beautiful natural wonder nature. The trail is well maintained. It's no Shannon falls but I enjoyed the experience.
Jonathan Davis — Google review
This is a terrific hike not to be missed. It's about 1.5km to the falls on an easy incline with a roaring river on your left the entire time. Try 2-3 hours prior to sunset to get the falls back lit by the setting sun. The volume of water is truly amazing and you see it twist and turn after the falls in the canyons . The hike back is slightly downhill and not technical. Great pit stop if you're in the area.
Alex Hirschler — Google review
WOW! Great trail to the falls and so much to see along the wall. WEAR GOOD SHOES. Not much elevation gain at all but the path is somewhat narrow and rocky in some areas. About 2 miles round trip and totally worth it

Absolutely loved the place. Was worth the drive down from Vancouver, the trails are super easy to follow along, the waterfall view is amazing & the sound of waterfall just fills your heart with happiness. The place has nice views all along, has lot of parking & clean bathroom facilities. The trails however are bit narrow so exercise caution while walking.

It was a very pretty hike river flowing by your hike trail side. It was a small and quickest hike I have done.

It's a round trip of 3km, and the path is relatively easy to walk with a moderate slope. The last section of rocky road is slightly challenging. Along the way, you can see snow-capped mountains in the distance on the opposite side, which is very beautiful.
Serene lake with a sandy beach, campground & mountain views for trout fishing & canoeing.
100% recommendation to go and visit there, very beautiful view and warm water except when it meets the creeks. Easy hike right side of the lake. Campsite are good you can easily fit three tents and a car but two recommended. But of drive but worth it. No connection to the outside world no Internet no network, if you feel like you need break the place to go to. Swimming, Paddle boarding, kayaking. Rangers are helpful as well. Clean bathroom pictures aren’t clear pics bc of smoke.

Beautiful mountain lake with a nice day-use area. It's roughly 8 km down a dirt road to get to the lake, but it was totally worth it. We took our young children here for a picnic, and they had a blast. There is a grassy area, a beach, and picnic tables. There were only vault toilets, but that's expected because this place is kind of in the middle of nowhere.
I wouldn't recommend the campground here. The sites were way too small and close together for my liking - - and way too close to the road. We'd come back here for another day trip though - - it's really picturesque.

Date April.23,2022 the Birkenhead park still close due to snow and some broken tree, but you can drive up to the gate then walk for another 1.9km which is like 40min-1hour walk.
You can drive using 4x4 or regular car but be prepare driving there as there is some loose gravel and not fully renovated drive road.
The park it self still amazing specially the lake and snowy mountain.
It was flat trail around the campground and there is washroom available when we go up there also we see some people did camping near blackwater lake.
It was a family friendly trail.
You must visit here.

Campsite is very clean and very quiet with loads of space per site. Nice place to spend a relaxing day at the lake. Service road up there is very manageable also.

A gorgeous lake! I highly recommend renting a canoe, and rowing out to the middle. Go and explore! Go and find the small freezing cold glacial melt waterfalls that feed this gorgeous and clear water.
Mike Piff — Google review
Clean quiet campgrounds, clean outhouses, nice rangers working at the camping sites. Beautiful lakeside picnic area and small off leash section for dogs included lake access. We had a great time swimming and paddle boarding. And we really appreciated the quiet friendly atmosphere at the campsites. Gorgeous mountains and hiking trails. Bring a hammer for tent stakes -- it's the famous BC provincial parks gravel at the sites

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park is a scenic park located north of Pemberton that showcases mountain trails and three glacier-fed lakes. It boasts stunning views of the Matier Glacier, making it one of the top hiking destinations in British Columbia with a 3.5-hour hike to Upper Joffre Lakes. The park's picturesque landscapes include jagged peaks, ice fields, rushing streams, and turquoise blue lakes that offer fantastic camping spots for visitors.
One of my favorite hikes! The water is gorgeous and well-worth the trek up. A couple smaller lakes before you hit the main lake. Parking fills up super quickly during the summer so definitely come early. It’s also important to note that there’s quite a bit of elevation gain and a few steep sections. Stay hydrated and bring lots of water!!

Amazing back country camping we did but we won't do this again here with 2 & 3 years old plus a couple hundred pounds of foods for 4 days and 3 nights for 5 ppl. My husband almost gave up many times but we kept walking because pretty challenging if you can do it. Worth the hiking up after you see those wonderful lakes but beautiful water. Then breath taking view right up top. I climb up highest point as I can and wow, spectacular view I ever seen. So we think if we go back so just for hiking, not camping anymore. Recommend to visit once, you won't disappoint with those breath taking views

TL;DR - Magnificent Lakes, Saw Grizzly Bears, hiked late-May, still snow, Started hike at 5.30am.
We did this hike in late-May and there was still some snow on the trails, a lot between Middle and Upper Joffre Lake. The Upper Lake was almost frozen so July-August is the best time to enjoy these lakes in their full glory. The only downside is that the place gets insanely busy during those months.
We were staying in Pemberton so we got to the trail head at 5.30am and were the only ones there. Finished and thoroughly enjoyed this hike peacefully. It started getting busy only after we were halfway on our way down. So if you wanna truly enjoy the beauty of this place, I’d recommend get an early start.
The hike overall is Moderate. There are some steep sections as you get to the Middle Lake. The hike from Middle to Upper was much easier so once you reach the Middle Lake, the steep parts are almost done.
Most importantly, this is Bear Country. We saw a couple of Grizzlies just as we left the parking lot. So be cautious and prepared.

Very beautiful park, clean and preserved nature. There are 3 lakes. The first one is an easy 5 minute walk. The second one and the last are 1.5 hrs and 30 minutes, respectively, in a pretty stip trail. It could be a little challenging for the casual hiker, but totally worth the views! Can be done in a sunny day/low amount of rains. It is recommended to me bring enough water for the hike. The crew on site was super nice and everything was clean and preserved. Really recommended!

Breathtaking views! As you go up and up all the way to the third lake, it keeps getting better. Pictures will never do justice to this beauty. Definitely coming back here again with my friends.

On April 30, I was not prepared for that when I arrived with my friends since we thought the snow was over. The first lake was frozen and the forests were knee deep snow. Bring snowshoes if you want to walk through the forests. Bring ice cleats for trails. We walked on the frozen lower lake. Gulp. We got the beautiful 360 degree view of mountains. I saw grey bird and red and black hummingbird. See you next time, Joffre.

A very pleasant and rewarding hiking trail! Around 10 km (round trip). I went there in early October and there was flurries when we arrived the Upper Lake. While it is a rather easy hiking and won't take long, but it is located around 3 hours driving from Vancouver. So if you plan for a day trip, better start your day early.
There are three stunning but different lakes along the trail.

Absolutely one the best places to visit if you’re in or around Vancouver. It’s approximately 3 hrs drive from the city. Do not forget to get entry passes exactly at 7 AM, 2 days prior to your visit, passes are sold out in seconds!
PS: Do it at your own discretion but honestly refilling your water bottles at waterfalls can be really refreshing!

My wife and I were at this beautiful place on 2/21 there was a lot of snow and we were the first in the entire park which was great and challenging.
In some places the snow covers the path and you could become disoriented.
If it is snowy and cold you MUST wear 100% spiked snow shoes.
the views are majestic.
We went up to the third lake in 3 hours to stop a couple of times and stopped for breakfast at the middle lake.
Simply beautiful!!!
Awesome job my love 😍

Entire hike took 4 hours - including 30 mins to enjoy the 3rd lake. Such a gorgeous place to enjoy the beautiful colour of the water in the foreground of snow capped mountains. Trail is well kept. I’d say the hike is moderate - grateful for friends who stayed at my pace - with lots of stopping. Remember to register for day pass on BC parks website otherwise you may not be able to enter the park.

This is a stunning lake. First 2 pictures are from the middle lake, 3rd picture is from the lower lake. Each higher lake is more beautiful than the previous. Did not make it to the upper lake. Hike was pretty steep in certain areas. Make sure you have a good pair of shoes, note certain parts are muddy as it was raining the day before. Also pack a bug spray. I took 1.5 hour to go up but bear in mind I made many stops. Coming down was easy, about 45 minutes nonstop. I started the hike before 8am on a Saturday (2 weeks ago) and it was pretty quiet. On our way down, we bumped into many people going up! So do start your hike early.
Eileen Lim — Google review
Stunning scenery. Easy hike, with quite a few stairs. Busy trail, a little crowded in places but well worth it for the views. The trail also runs along a creek between the lower and middle lakes, and by a large waterfall between the middle and upper lakes. Wear layers - the wind off the glacier can be chilly, even on a hot day, but you may also want swimwear to enjoy the beautiful lakes. The middle and upper lakes have better water access for swimming.

Amazing Lake and trails. There are three levels of the lake. First is easy, second is moderate and third continue to moderate level.
I really recommend this place.
Amazing views and places to enjoy the nature.

This is our favorite place to hike with the family. The trail is well-established. The view is always breathtaking. The little kids love it. The 2nd and 3rd lake is always crowded with a lot of tourists taking photos. I do recommend to start your hike early around 7-8am so you can take the best photos before the big crowd of hikers arrive. You have to book a day pass because one group arrived without a day pass but was refused.

It was a tough hike but when you see people on the way motivating you, it really helps! Make sure to bring enough water though…. Very worth the 3-4ish hour hike. The views were like no other😍

Best hike I have gone on, the scenery was breathtaking!! You have 3 lakes you can hike to. Making it to the top lake and going for a dip and a packed lunch was well worth the effort. Watching the snow caps melt into the lake was mesmerizing and peaceful.
Reserve your spot early as well as recommend go early in the day.

Perfect gateway near Vancouver, frozen lake from Nov to May. Limited parking space without day pass. Obtain day pass before planning trip here from Jun to Sep.

Last time I went it was last summer. The trail was little bit more rough because it was hotter, but the view was totally worthy!!!
This is my second times come here. Still Spectacular!!! However, it will be colder than when you get higher! Also the icing and snow will make the trail wet and slippery. There was an bad accident on the way heading back due to icing. A men got a broken leg and needed to call emergency. There's no phone signal in this area at all, so you need to be aware that!
If you are planning going in the cold season, I recommend prepare yourself the good winter shoes and suite. Bring some water and small snacks to keep yourself good energy for the trail.
It took us about 5 - 7 hours ( started around 11 - 6), for the trails. We stopped for break and photos a lots . Don't do it too late, just for your safety!!!
Van Nguyen — Google review
This hike requires a day pass you need to reserve. The lower lake is very close to the parking lot, and it requires an elevation gain of 370 meters to get to the upper lake, passing via the middle lake and a waterfall. It is a beautiful hike, through forest, but you get some scenic views and the lakes are beautiful. And as the day passes are limited it never feels too crowded.
Jo Dejonckheere — Google review
Joffre lakes was such as an amazing place. It is a great hike to go for new hikers. Almost a 3.5 hrs hike.
It has 3 lakes on way. The first one is quite near. We reached there within 5-7 minutes. It was a good time for us to be there.
Then we moved forward towards the second lake. First 20 minutes are not bad, Then the hike is pretty steep for almost an hour and 20 minutes. The view while going up the mountains was amazing.
The second lake was amazing. We had a bottle of hot water and cup noodles which was the best idea we made. Eating that meal in that environment can never be forgotten.
The rocks under the water were very clear as if there is not water.
Sam Singla — Google review
Great hike and just amazing views and wonderful staff! You have to book a day pass to go and there is no cell phone service so download it on your phone! But please please refrain from feeding birds at the lakes even if you like to take pictures with them because they now attack to get food from people's hands!
Marie Danielle — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking! A well marked trail that's easy to follow. Stunning views and chilly water! There is NO CELL SERVICE but there is a phone by the entrance of the main parking lot. A couple of outhouses, BYOTP (bring your own toilet paper). No dogs on trail.
Just a kind reminder, please do not feed the wildlife, do not leave garbage on the trails, share the path, and be aware of your surroundings. Pack hiking essentials with you (extra water, snacks, flashlight (do not rely on your phone flashlight as your only source of light), a small first aid kit and maybe leave some extra layers in your car or pack a jacket with you). BE SAFE OUT THERE! I've seen too many people on too many trails that are, in my opinion, very unprepared.

Duffey, Lake Road, Mount Currie, BC V0N 2K0, Canada
This scenic route, known as Duffey Lake Rd, winds through a dense forest and follows a mountain stream. The road passes by both Duffy Lake and Lillooet Lake, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. The path is narrow and winding, making for an exciting driving experience. The area is rich in natural beauty with lush trees lining the road and crystal clear waters flowing beside it.

Donation required to enter. And the lady ignored my coffee until after we laid then as I went to lock the car and re-enter I was asked to leave my coffee at the front because there’s no drinks in the museum. …I asserted that she should have told me this when we arrived and was met with a smirk and an ‘I’m sorry’. I left feeling a bit insulted by the whole thing. …Hopefully your experience is better than mine as I see there’s a lot of positive reviews too. …Just be aware: donation required and adults aren’t trusted with coffees here.

The museum/info center is situated in an old church. There are some artifacts outside the museum/info center and the inside is full of interesting and important historical pieces. I had a photo taken inside an old jail cell, complete with bunk bed cots. I enjoyed the downstairs area which had a historical printing press, old newspapers and things like that. The main floor had a lot of things from the gold mining days, tools, and stuff. The stop isn't a long one, you could probably see everything in 15-30 minutes give or take a bit.
The visitors info center people were the best. Betty and Tarryn were so patient with answering all our questions and had some tips for interesting places for us to check out, where to eat, and so on. Yes, Lillooet is a small town and it may not have been hard to find some of the info on our own, but learning about where the osprey nest is, or the best place to look for other forms of wildlife, or where the hidden hiking trail is for the best view of the lake... That's the cool stuff that only locals would know.

Spent an hour or so here in late July, enjoying the views, doing some photos, eating some charcuterie and destroying a lovely bottle of Meritage. Really good! Suggestion for improvement? Offer protective packing (at a small upcharge even) for travellers carrying bottles onto a plane. We would have happily supported that service for the bottles we carried home to Ontario. Worth the drive from Whistler.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon lunch with wine tasting at this outstanding local business, a highlight of my visit. The staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Wines were nice and dry and the reds really surprised me with their great layered flavours. I can recommend the Cabernet Franc and dry Riesling. The menu is short and I loved was the healthy, fresh sides and vegetables. The roast vegetables made a nice accompaniment to my burger. The view from the patio is next level stunning. The gift shop has some local art too.

Wow, what a beautiful location! This winery located in Lillooet is definitely a must stop spot on Highway 99. Located on the corner of the 99 when driving up from Pemberton heading to Lillooet or the turn-off from Lillooet to Pemberton. You will look below to the the lush vineyards, the surrounding mountains and more often than not, a clear blue sky!
We had a refreshing glass of Pinot Gris along with a serving of Margherita flat bread. The service was excellent and it was awesome to see a local helping us with any requests we may have had. The reception area is typical of the great wineries one would see in the Okanagan region. Nicely furnished, beautiful presentation and greeted by a young man who sounded like a seasoned expert and although he looked to be in his mid 20's was confident, well spoken and quite knowledgeable. They are recipients of several wine awards as well.We are definitely going to stop by every time we are heading that way. We Loved it!!

Perhaps our less than ideal experience was because we visited on the August 2022 long weekend Monday, and it was extremely busy. We were told the restaurant was fully booked so we couldn't try their restaurant. For future reference, we asked about gluten-free accommodations on their limited menu. We were told they had no GF menu choices other than salad. The dining was outside under tents, beautiful view. The afternoon was very hot, so we may not have been comfortable dining outside.
The wine tasting was great, many very delicious and award winning wines. Apparently selected in 2022 as being the the top 3rd of 10 best small wineries in Canada. The young lady from South Africa was extremely knowledgeable, but somewhat difficult to hear with the high ceilings and number of other people. She was very patient and answered all my questions. In fact, she was a wow factor of the visit.
The young man, with a beard was very unfriendly. He was rushing around and seemed annoyed that I stopped to ask a question. He was bordering on being rude and offended my guest who almost didn't purchase the case he had selected because of this employees unfriendly customer service. He did however carry the case out to the car.

Resort for rafting, rock climbing & mountain biking, plus basic lodging in teepees & cabins.
The team at Kumsheen Rafting is second to none. Did a six hour power rafting work trip that had all the potential to be less than perfect. Weather was rainy, water freezing but none of that mattered.
We had an amazing time, more fun that anticipated. Taija and the safety crew were great, Bethany took incredible pictures and even our bus driver was an awesome guy. Would recommend rafting with
Kumsheen to anyone. The resort itself was picturesque with mountains, tee pee’. The Cutting Board restaurants stayed open for us as we arrived later than anticipated.
Food was good and breakfast is exactly what you need before a long day on the rapids.

Highly recommend their canvas tents for a very cute and comfortable stay! We enjoyed our cabin and our dinner as well. Hot tub was open for a nice wind down, and we were even walked to dinner by the resident cat. They've got an awesome set of swings in the cabin area that has awesome views of the canyon beyond. We hope to stay here longer than one night on our next trip through and get to raft as well!

We took the family here in 2020 during Covid, and we've booked another trip for Summer of 2023. The power rafting was extremely fun and well worth doing ... so long as you hold on tight, you'll love the experience. The facilities were also really good, although we didn't experience the restaurant which was closed at the time. Some family stayed in an old fashioned canvas cabin which are clean and nice. They also have nice bathroom facilities, fire pits and a good-sized pool. Lytton is still rebuilding from the fires and was a cute small town with beautiful surroundings - it's hot as heck in July and August.

What a wonderful experience! We weren’t exactly sure what we were in for, as we’re definitely out-of-towners, but we wanted a unique Canadian adventure! Kumsheen did not disappoint. A bit off the beaten path and a tad remote to get to, but so worth it, and a beautiful drive too!
Driving up to the lovely resort entrance and being welcomed by such a warm, friendly and professional crew was just the start. We started with a great lunch, then donned the appropriate attire: wetsuits provided by Kumsheen, and (sunscreen, bathing suits, sturdy water shoes) and set out on a short bus ride to a sandy beach a ways up the Thompson River. At the raft entry location we spent a bit of time learning about the what-ifs and how to be cautious and give reverence to the mighty water.
Elliott and his knowledgeable colleagues really go above and beyond to make you feel safe and that you’re in great hands! Quite literally, the guide has to understand and know things, that well…we just don’t know! That level of comfort is hard to achieve and it was a great reassurance for someone like me, a gal who likes to be in control at all times. Well done!
Riding those waves and feeling the unpredictable intensity of Mother Nature is a feeling like nothing else! I have to admit I was a little scared, but that too is something I don’t always experience, and so it was fun to live on the edge! We would definitely recommend this outfit and hope to be back sometime!

I would highly recommend both staying here and doing their rafting trip. We did the Legendary Thompson river and it was a blast. Either a family trip or just a friends getaway this is such a fun activity to do with friends and family. Guaranteed to be a good time, and the place has some great amenities to enjoy after your rafting trip. The lunch mid way on the full raft day is also amazing.

i really loved the rafting. me and my family went in 2019. the tents were awesome and i loved how it had full beds and stuff. the rafting was super fun, and i made a bond with our tour guide by helping him program his digital watch. when we made the stop midway through the tour for food, it was pretty fun and the view was amazing. watching the trains go by the campground was SO COOL! and its tragic what happened to Lytton, and i hope everything turns out ok. im an optimist. but, yea overall my experience at kumsheen was amazing. the drive there was also pretty fun :D

The experience was definitely worth having, I will definitely be going back again in the future, the staff are all so sweet. The food was amazing, the story’s told while rafting where very enjoyable, can’t wait to come again, but this time book a room, mistake was taking a tent for me, the wind was strong and the train was fairly loud with no walls, but otherwise this trip I would recommend for all

We did the Power rafting with Brett and it was amazing. The accommodations for a family of 5 were great. Lunch was provided rafting and was amazing, there was something for everyone. Brett was a great guide and we had a blast. This place is for sure a hidden gem. We will definitely be back.

My friends and I had an amazing time rafting together on the Thompson River. Despite being a large group of 57 students, the whole rafting experience went smoothly. I had a great time rafting with our guide Kirtus and learning about little bits of history about the river. I loved both power rafting and paddle rafting - the weather and water were perfect during my stay. The food was decent considering that the campsite is in a desert, and the accommodations were also pretty good. The staff were all very friendly and sweet. Overall, I give the trip 5 stars since it was the perfect way to start my last year in high school.

The "cabin" was nicer than i thought it was going to be. The staff was friendly, food was pretty good. My only real issue was how the trains seemed to roll by multiple times a night every night, I know this isnt the resorts fault. However in my research leading up too it there was no mention of it at all that I found. I would say it woke me up 3 or 4 times each night. Also the bathrooms definatly came across as they needed to be cleaned a little more often. Id like to give it 3.5 stars...but google isnt that advanced yet sadly.

This place is AMAZING! The staff, the cat, the rafts, and everyone involved were nothing but friendly, warm, and welcoming. Elliot was a great guide who constantly kept us laughing and engaged. He knew the river like the back on his hand. If you are thinking of going, just do it! Truly one of the best days I have had in a long time. We will be back in the spring/summer!

A beautiful day trip down Thompson River with our amazing guide was something I look forward to experiencing again! From the amazing lunch we had, fascinating stories about the river and breathtaking scenery.

This place is fantastic, the rafting tour was absolutely breathtaking and Andrew our guide was great!
The cabins and the tipis are both fantastic to sleep in! The little coffee shop inside is also great!
Our lunch and dinner we had was really good, but the breakfast had room for improvement. The wait time was much longer than we anticipated based on the system where you reserve and don’t order a specific meal. The meal was alright, though everything on the plate was cold by the time it reached us.
Don’t let that deter you from booking an amazing vacation here though! The live music and pool were highlights as well.

The power rafting was so much fun, and our guide Mary told us lots of cool details along the way. The food tasted great, especially the desserts! Because they are canvas cabins, there are lots of bugs inside and it gets freezing cold in the mornings. However, each cabin has a bit of electricity from the solar panels to charge devices (but not enough to for example power a kettle), and the string of lights inside the cabin makes it super cozy in the evenings!

This is a great little gem. Stayed in a cabin & did a power raft trip. The rafting was a great time with many little sites to see along the way. This is a really awesome family friendly place. The pool & hot-tub is situated with a great view. There’s lots of things to keep everyone busy during the day. Live music at night beside the bar. 100% coming back one day.

I had a blast! Spent the weekend at the resort. Did both paddle and motorboat. They let us bring my giant waterproof boom box onto the motorboat which was awesome I highly recommend music for the ride down. All the staff were helpful and fun. Absolutely no complaints. You won't regret this experience. I can't wait to go again.

So much of the original building still in tact. We have driven by so many times but wish we had visited earlier!

Lots of history to learn, all the hosts there were very informative and entertaining from the blacksmith to the Inkeeper, stagecoach driver and everyone involved in each exhibit. The gold panning was especially fun for all ages. Highly recommend this for all ages, a good way to spend a day.

The campsites with power are limited but there is a lot of space in the field with no power. There is no shade in the campground so it can be extremely hot. There is a small playground and clean bathrooms + showers but they're a bit of a walk from the RV area. The historic ranch was fantastic to explore with kids, it's great they can touch items and explore. The wagon ride was fun and the kids loved all the farm animals.

Decided to visit for the first time after reading great reviews. Upon buying the tickets I asked what time the stagecoach ride would be at. I was told the stagecoach wasnt available as the driver quit and the only other person who could provide the ride only worked part time and wasn't available. Was disappointing because that was one of the things we were looking forward to.
Other than that it is a beautiful, well kept historical site.

I absolutely don't understand why you water grassland during the day while temperatures soar to 36°C and higher.
It does not make any difference as the water evaporates instantly.
Pure waste in these weeks of draught.☹️

Stayed at the family cabins and had a lovely experience. Such a great price for what you get and a great place to stop along the way to the interior.
I did however find the service sub par in comparison to over the years. Paid $70 for the family admission and didn't get a tour at the road house as we had in the past. They kind of sat around and wouldn't interact unless prompted. Another couple walked in about half way through walking ourselves through the house and seemed a bit annoyed and asked the people to give them a tour, and the employees didn't seem all too enthusiastic.
That being said, the interpretive first nations set up across from the road house was fabulous. They were very keen to show and educate us on everything there. If the house had their level of enthusiasm and interaction I would have given 5 stars
They also didn't have the stage coach going when we arrived (and it was a cool day not more than 23 degrees and breezy) the next morning the horses were never hooked up either. I feel the website was a bit misleading and led to disappointment in regards with what to expect would be included in admission price

My visit was an included stop at Hat Creek through a bus tour Not only did I enjoy browsing the gift store (and bought some beautiful artwork cards there) I thoroughly enjoyed a refreshing cool drink and a wonderful sausage roll for morning tea! If I were traveling this way again, I would stop and spend a longer time viewing what the Ranch may further have to offer - it's a beautiful location, and wonderful flower baskets adorn the main buildings.

4 of us paid the fee for entry which included the stage coach ride and an introduction to the historic Hat Creek Roadhouse. Those workers were all sitting in the roadhouse visiting and you had to interrupt them for info. We were all very disappointed. There was no one at the native interpretive centre.
Had been to the ranch several years ago and it was a great experience so took our summer company there.

Basic, functional and clean cabins at a reasonable price. Better than staying in the dumpy hotel in Cache Creek! Definitely not luxury, but bed was comfortable and shower was great. Also had a small fridge and coffee machine in cabin.
Unfortunate that restaurant on site not open on Tuesday/Wednesdays so had to drive into Cache Creek for food.

You must be a sound sleeper as you are sandwiched between 2 of the busiest rail lines in Canada. They go all night long with a standard 100 - 150 trail cars per. Very very noisy. Also watch out for the Prickly Pear Cactus all through out the vegetation. Don't let your dogs walk around. Lots of great birding though. Saw eagles, Meadow larks, hawks and osprey.

Nice riverside spots here. Rugged countryside and lots of trains going by on both sides of the campground. Quite a bit of tree cover is welcome as it can get blistering hot here in the summer.

It is a campground where I'll go if I have no other option left. No doubt it is a well developed site but since I know this area I know there are much better options. Few sites have nice shade but others are exposed to sun at all times so I won't book this one for hot summer days. The beach is full of small rocks and not enough grass to sit or lay down.

Small campground, but beautiful scenery. Well maintained, no showers though. There is a nice picnic area, too. If you don't mind the sounds of passing trains several times a day or throughout the night, then you're set.

Also noticed people with RVs and electric sources on site.

Lots of people mention trains in their reviews, yes, there are trains! But there are also eagles and the beautiful Thompson River to enjoy. So bring ear plugs and you’ll be fine. This is a well cared for campground with 21 river front spots and more set back from the river. When the river is open, the evening fish comes on once the sun is off the water…a floating line and a Tom Thumb should be all that you need to have some fun. There is no cell coverage by the river, but decent coverage in the day use parking lot. Most sites have both water and power hook-ups, plenty of room to maneuver trailers.

Driving along the highway and saw a random sign for a beach, had to stop and check it out. Nice stop, people swimming in the river, fish jumping all over, it was a nice stop. Seems there is a camping area as well. Will have to check it out again in the future.

grateful its open this time of year! Nice park really. Previous reviews said the trains were a problem but I slept like a baby. 😆 Scenery spectacular Canada has so much to offer, a variety of climates and landscapes- beautiful!
my only complaint is being canadian i think the senior rate should apply to all Canadian seniors not just from the provinces. If you are a BC resident then its 1/2 half! for their seniors only - not fair!

Beautiful spot on the river. In a geologically significant area.
Electrical and water at each site. I prefer more separation between sites, but we enjoyed our weekend immensely.

On the plus side this park is close to Hwy 1 and easy to find. It is located on the Thompson River with small sandy beach on a backwater for safe wading and splashing. The park is old but clean with well maintained. All sites offer power hookups. The sites are level with picnic tables and fire pits. On the negative side there are ticks and snakes in the area. The campsites offer no privacy and little shade and some are rather small. Roads and sites are gravel with limited grass. There are active train tracks on both sides of the campground with frequent trains both day and night. You must pay for hot water in the showers. No cell coverage at sites. Limited coverage near exit.
This was an amazing place for the family dogs and friends we shared a double site was more then enough room. All the facilities were kept in good order and having a Sani dump on site was a big bonus. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely think this was a place a lot of campers should try. The scenery was stunning as well. Water was great temperature for kids and adults as well no leeches, duck itch etc.

The campsites are pretty spacious. We fit a trailer and two large tents on a double site. The park and beach are nice. There were marmots at the park that pop up and down out of the ground. The lake is beautiful and there’s a nice view from the campsites. There are no showers but the outhouses have plumbing. The weather changed daily when we were there. It was pouring rain and then sunny.

One of our favorite places to camp (if not our top fave). Hosts are awesome and friendly, everything is always clean and well cared for, sites have space and trees between, noise curfew is well enforced to make it a great experience for families and those who enjoy a quieter setting.
The algae bloom was cleared when we got there which was amazing!
Kelly Ens — Google review
Far too windy for tents or gazebos. The first time we were here a tree landed on our tent. The camp attendant gave us free firewood for the trouble. The second time the wind snapped our gazebo in half. You can't even sit around the picnic table to have dinner as your food will blow away.
Aside from the wind it's a beautiful park. Lots of spots, spacious, not a lot of trees or shade. It was very dry and hot so a gazebo is a must but it won't stand up to the heavy wind. The hostess was very nice. The place was clean.
The toilets are flushable. The main bathroom has a power outlet. No showers. The drinking water must be boiled.
The lake is beautiful. It's clean and clear. The water flows so it's not stagnant. Its perfect for swimming. The beach is sandy and lined with tons of picnic tables. Most of them are covered picnic tables so you have shade.
The grass area is huge. There is so much room. I've seen people set up badminton nets or have soccer games. Plenty of room for many families.

The park boasts a stunning landscape with lush greenery, towering trees, and picturesque trails that lead you to breathtaking viewpoints. It’s well-maintained facilities and amenities also impressed me. The washrooms were clean, and the picnic areas were perfect for a family gathering or a peaceful afternoon with friends. Whether you're seeking solitude, adventure, or simply a breath of fresh air, this is the perfect destination. Great place for camping, water activities.

Nicely manicured grounds, flush toilets, showers available ($), wood and ice for sale. Very family oriented and everyone is in bed by like 10. Strict noise policy to the point of having a 24 hour phone number you can call with complaints. Not a lot of privacy at the sites and they are close together. Beautiful view of the lake. Didn't see a single marmot though 🥺
El Styles — Google review
This park is a fabulous getaway, catering to families. There are numerous signs posted regarding the quiet time, which we really appreciate. The reason for the four stars is that the lake water does not feel clean when swimming. That's not the parks' fault, of course. We took advantage of the trails and the lake to canoe as well as to swim. The park operators are friendly and available. I think their steady presence helps keep campers in line.
Beware the squirrels!!!
Rose Sirois — Google review
Nice quiet campground. Not a lot of tree coverage so very hot in summer. Right next to a huge lake that allows motorboats. Very gravely/rocky beaches so water shoes are a must. Small kids playground and some flushing restrooms with sinks. No showers. Pay sani dump and free water.

Overall review is that it's a nice provincial park with lots to offer. Day-Use and Camping review below.
Road to the park is very bumpy but it's not very far so no big deal. Great views along the way. No through road past the entrance to the park so traffic is not a problem.
Ice and firewood sales available on-site.
Little free library at gatehouse for those looking to get lost in a good book.
Day Use Area:
Parking lot is huge with lots of parking spots. There is a boat launch but I didn't go down to it so can't provide any insight on it.
Picnic tables have nice rooftops built above them and there are lots of tables available.
Big field to play in but watch for uneven ground or holes dug by the local wildlife.
Dog beach for your furry friends.
Informative signs throughout the park about the local vegetation and wildlife although many signs are faded and could use a little tlc.
Lake was nice and water was clear. I waded in and it was cool but enjoyable on a warm day.
Camping Area:
Campsites are nice and spaced, with nice open sites, and sites with trees and shade, providing many options to choose from. Many of the sites are classified as "RVs up to 32ft" or "RVs up to 18ft" even though they are easily large enough for a much larger trailer.
I have a 41'6" bumper pull with a quad cab F-350 and all of the sites I observed in the first loop listed as "RVs up to 32ft" were easily able to fit my truck and trailer without any problem, some sites have big rocks around the perimeter and some don't.
There is a playground in the first loop that looked nice if you have kids with you.
One star lost due to campsites being wrongly designated as 32ft and under when a larger trailer can easily fit.
Another thing to note is reservations cannot be made, via the website, past 1:00PM on the day of arrival even when spots are available, in case you arrive spontaneously. There is a 1-800 number posted, available until 7:00PM.
Jason Haug — Google review
Nice spacious park with decent washrooms and close to community. The lake is large ...not really a lot of beach near the campsites(dog friendly area) and the road is quite narrow in spots when sharing road between a vehicle and pedestrian or cyclist. The beaver in the lake was entertaining to watch.

It’s such a beautiful place for summer, the lake and its landscape around will leave you with wow. Picnic tables are in good numbers, it has play area for kids, the campgrounds are plenty enough - found many people with camps that could be famous and the road to it from Merritt will not disappoint you. Enjoy!

The good
Excellent provincial park, well kept, sites were raked - gravel base. Tables and sizing were fantastic. Outhouses were flush with running water and sinks.
Ice sold at entry way, beach is wonderful and water views are excellent.
The bad
Because of the flora and Fauna around a sun shelter is a most, don't expect to tarp anything off, the trees are to sparse, most sites see a lot of sun.
The week of August 13 saw a blue/gree algae bloom, not the parks fault, but definitely impacted the enjoyment surrounding the water.
T M — Google review
We got a site where there was no tree for shade and we arrived on July 29. The sun was strong, we could not stay longer in the day. The campground offers flush toilets but no showers. Camp sites very close to each other and no privacy. Lake was good and clean water. Was quite in the night and could see stars in the night. Day area was good as well for hangout during the day. You can just buy ice at the office.

This campground is in Nicola lake and has a nice beach as well as a good playground. The area is semi desert and the ponderosa pines are sparse so most spots have little to no shade. Not a party campground, it is quiet.
Tim Challenger — Google review
Great park, family friendly & dog friendly. Helpful and kind staff. Quiet and peaceful campground with good sized sites. Flush bathrooms in easy walking distance from any site. Many sites do not have much shade so bring your own ways to make shade.

Campground is ok, typical for BC parks. Ranger very friendly. Very hilly, some nice sites along water but no shade. No showers. Beach was closed because of blue green algae which made it very hard being so hot out. Far from anywhere else to swim for the day.
The Flying U Ranch is a serene getaway where guests can enjoy wood cabins, horseback riding, and delicious meals free of charge. This ranch offers a saloon and an array of activities for everyone to experience. Visitors can revel in the feeling of freedom that this place provides. Furthermore, it is one of the most dog-friendly places in America. The ranch promises an enjoyable time with its down-to-earth environment and abundant trails open to explore.
Flying U is a rare and unique experience. Over a hundred horses allowed to roam across many acres are wrangled each morning to allow guests to ride completely free across their property.
Other than a few guided tourist tours on horseback, we had very little experience riding (with the exception of our daughter who's had many riding lessons).
The staff here are amazing, from stable hands to dining staff and the wranglers, everyone was friendly and helpful. We had trouble with one of our horses on the first day and Steve, the head Wrangler, made a point to take us out next morning to make sure we were alright.
After that, unguided riding was the most amazing experience ever. It was the first time I've galloped a horse and rode for such a long period.
We stayed in a newly renovated guest house with 5 bedrooms - which was more than what we needed. The accomodation isn't 5-stars by any means but you're here for the riding experience.
Other activities that kept our kids happy was the beach and swimming docks. Daily boat tour across Green Lake, along with other water activities. Archery range and pool tables were equally fun.
We had an amazing time and booked our next trip for next year already. Looking forward to visiting the nice people at the Flying U again!

I told my daughter once that the feeling of freedom is a fleeting thing you can spend your life chasing. The Flying U has it in abundance. I can't even ride. I just hung out all day in what is probably the most dog friendly place in the country and enjoyed the happiness my wife and daughter found in abundance on the many trails. Even though I can't ride a horse due to disability, I was never bored here. There are a variety of things to do every day. Everyone there is so down to earth. We booked for next year before we left.

28 people from our company spent 3 nights at Flying U Ranch at the end of September for our annual retreat. From the booking to the time we left, we felt like we were in great hands. Having the food provided was a big logistic relief and they were able to accommodate different dietary restrictions. Our group had a lot of fun horseback riding, kayaking and canoeing, singing the the karaoke, chatting around the fire pit, and watching the band. Thank you Cindi, John, Cowboy Steve and all the staff for welcoming us.

This place offers an extremely unique experience but without the right staff things would not have been executed properly. Cowboy Steve will give you an experience like no other and will leave you feeling like family. Ally is almost the first face you see in the office and her kind disposition and willingness to accommodate makes for an easy transition. STACEY STACEY STACEY! This woman takes the cake and wears many many hats to keep the ranch at a place where everyone can ensure they will have the best stay as long as she's present. I watched this wonderful lady go above and beyond for the clients at the ranch just to ensure the best stay possible for them. From making sure a birthday cake and balloons were provided for a young birthday girl to purchasing a gift strictly from herself and not the ranch just blew my mind at how big her heart was. HANDS DOWN STACEY MADE OUR TRIP! We exchanged stories and laughs and she was so kind to buy my son whom was not in attendance a sweater to wear in hope's we would return with family. My fiance and I came to experience the ranch in hope's to book our upcoming wedding there and I was amazed at how knowledgeable and helpful stacey was with everything. The ranch is extremely lucky to have people like stacey and Steve along with a few others as these people are the ones who made us feel like family and without them im not confident that we would have chosen this place for our special day, outside of the experience offered staffing the right people is what truly makes a place special so if your ever lucky enough to go please make sure that Steve and stacey are two people you get to meet while there as they will make you feel like family 🧡🐎

The Ranch is awesome. I give the rooms only two star because they are very basic and the cabins don't have an attached bathroom, you have to walk to the bathhouse. There is no luxury in the cabins. But they do their best to keep them clean and the sheets and beds are comfy.
The food is excellent and they can and do accommodate any dietary requirements. I think this chef was much better than previous visits.
The riding is great they match you with a horse to your abilities and let you go.
The downside... while they do have maps and signage.... THEY NEED BETTER MAPS AND SIGNAGE! It can't be that hard to put a better map together and fix the signs.

We've been to other ranches but this one stands out. The staff is good, the food is delicious and plentiful, the accommodations are rustic, and the amenities are enough to ensure there is always more to do. I would say the same about other ranches. The lake here and countryside here are unique. But THE RIDING....if that’s what you're looking to do this is the place for you. Make sure to take the orientation, follow the instructions, obey the rules because this a one-of-a-kind experience that exists no place else. Then take freedom the way it was meant to be...limitless, unguided, untamed, and uncapped. Pure fresh air, wild animals, trees, lakes, hillsides and stars. Thank you, to everyone. John for the lovely boat cruise, Wendy for making every ride home welcoming, Arial for being clear on how to stay safe, and everyone else for helping my family taste what real freedom in the country is like. See you next year.

Fantastic place to spend time.
Very rustic 100+ year old cabins.
The staff is amazing, so kind and friendly. They make sure that everything you need is there.
The horses are well cared for and the riding is spectacular.
Dogs are allowed off leash everywhere, as long as they are well behaved.

The FlyingU has been apart of my life since I was a kid and when I met the love of my life 10 years ago it became our place.
The first place we shared our first vacation, the place we got engaged and over the weekend became the place of our fairytale wedding.
Things don’t always go perfectly and that’s apart of having an epic wedding but Lori and Steve went above and beyond trying to accommodate whatever we asked
I want to give a special shout out to cowboy Steve, the only and only the man who makes the flying U just that much more memorable. He graced us with the most cowboy Steve like speech ever (which we approved of)… he forever has a space in our hearts and memories for the most epic weekend
Lori, couldn’t of done this weekend without you… thank you for dealing with all the craziness that comes with a wedding and with a smile on your face
Price wise, I’ll be honest it’s expensive.. but hands down I wouldn’t change the weekend or memories we made for anything.

Just came back from a 2 days stay. The experience was so nice. The staff were welcoming, kind, helpful. There were many repeat customers that have been there 5+ times and now I understand why. The horses are very well trained, perfect for even a complete beginner. I recommend bringing bottled water because their tap water is mineral water. Bring eyemasks and earplugs, because the cabins are creaky and can get bright. Bring a bag of carrots for the horsies to eat after 6pm when they're all outside and you can walk up to them. The food was always good! Very bad reception in the area. Trail rides were awesome. I'll be back soon <3
Tip: use the disabled washroom next to the kitchen for privacy when you gotta go number two but can't do it when others are near.

Thank you for the warm welcome, yummy meals and adorable and comfortable accommodations. But really it was Wrangler Steve, owner John as well as his entire staff who made us feel like family. The atmosphere was like stepping back to cowboy times, with rustic cabins, an adorable theatre and saloon ! We were matched with experienced horses, and guides who took us through back country that was so beautiful- seeing all kinds of wildlife. Steve taught us so much in such a short time and really connected us to our horses.
Wake up early to see the horses called in from overnight pastures and feel the thunder! We can’t wait to return!
Most greatfull for the girls weekend memories that we can’t wait to repeat.
Thank you so much again for accommodating us on short notice after such a crushing experience being rejected to ride at SUNDANCE RANCH due to a humiliating weigh in and unfortunately being five pounds over a weight restriction.

Everyone was so cheerful and friendly - staff and guests - everyone was happy to be there! Me too - for 7 nights
Horses were well matched to riders - and the wranglers were terrific
The views and the trails and the changing big sky were awesome!
I loved it

The vast majority of the staff exceeded expectations and made our 4-day holiday remarkable.
The experience this ranch offers is unique and really, really special. Accommodations are not fancy, but the overall ranch experience, food, staff, horseback riding and other activities are exceptional.
The horses and lands guests have access to explore is mind blowing and we appreciated how dog friendly the ranch was.
Cowboy Steve definitely stood out as someone that makes this place really special. Strong, clear communicator that ensures everyone is having a great time yet, the animals and people are safe.
Truly wonderful holiday for our entire family, including our teens... even with minimal to zero wifi or service to be online over the entire stay.

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with the recent experience at the ranch.
Everything is all about insurance and worrying about getting hurt. That puts an energy and damper over the whole place. You ride at your own risk in my 20 years ive fallen off numerous times.
Seems like its turning into something it never was. Almost feels like unguided riding is going to be taken away.
Also, the person at the barn is not good at matching horses up with people and personalities.

Beautiful place to camp. Quiet and very clean. We had a spot right across from the lake.
My husband and I had so much fun here. We got to play for a while on our money. Which was such a refreshing change. It let you play up and down rather than eating all the money immediately. Casinos used to be more like this but not so much now. This place was fantastic!

Friday night dare night couldn't have been any nicer. We started with a nice meal in the Match Eatery. Sports themed pub with good food and friendly staff. Definitely try the deserts! We then decided to try the Casino. The front staff there were very friendly and helpful. A super clean environment and lots of slots and games to choose from. I foresee another date night here!

I accept that I'll go to a Casino to lose money. I'm spending it to be entertained. So where's the entertainment here? Where's the flash? The dash? The excitement. This place has hundreds of digital slot machines and nothing else. It's like a meat farm for getting addicts to push a button as many times per hour as possible.
Ditch the awful digital machines. Go analog. Make your slot machines old school pull handle style. Have a couple dozen of them. Add some variety. Real things. I'll happily keep dropping money into something to watch a puck or marble drop through a board. Rock the roulette. Games of actual hands on chance. Put an exotic fountain in the middle of the floor. Get creative. Make the place an experience. Not an addict farm. Right now it just feels like it has no style or substance. All I saw was a couple dozen locals sitting quietly in front of digital slot machines button tapping their savings away.

Only there for the poker game, Texas no limit hold-em, so can't comment as to the rest. Staff were professional and friendly. Dealers know what they are doing and kept the game moving at a reasonable pace. Poker game itself was alright, 4 of the players at my table were of the I only play queens, kings and aces, but I'll mix it up with jacks once in a while to keep my table image loose, variety. Besides that there was a good mix of recreational players coming through the game. Could have used another server or two, but that seems to be the norm everywhere these days. My only complaint is that you can't order food in the casino, something too do with the cash register system in place, was the reason I got. Anyways to sum it up,
Cleanliness
-Casino 5/5
-Bathrooms 5/5
Food -match public house 5/5
Overall the casino feels modern and well maintained 5/5.
Staff -friendly, professional and helpful but a bit hard to find at times 4/5.
Smokers patio-clean, comfortable seating, nicely decorated 5/5.

A nice small town casino. It had all the casino things you expect although it was quieter than some and that could be an advantage. I kind of missed the clanking of coin payouts. Sad the buffet may never reopen after covid.

Casino had good variety of games. Washrooms had no paper towel and garbage cans were over full and spilling over. Machines looked like they maybe get wiped down once a week, pretty gross. Outdoor sitting area was covered in dust and nasty. The pub had great priced food abd friendly staff.

Had not even touched a machine / used the ATM st the back. $400 approved on my card, but money was jammed in machine, would not open. Everi E machine - atm guys came and unharmed the machine - lo and behold there was my $400 but because the atm guy had touched it the casino staff, which were hard to find - no one with any authority / their big bully bouncer ejected me because the bank I phoned told me to call the police , told me never to come back - I had told other customers not to use that ATM - as if I would EVER go back in that dismal joint . The onus was on me to get my money back - number they gave me for the ATM company doesn’t work - it cost me 400.0O to use their bathroom and I am 73 yrs old, banned from going back because THEIR machine was defective - very bad way to attract the public -

McArthur Island Park is a beautiful green space in the city with amenities like baseball and soccer fields, a 3-km loop path by the river, and a skate park. This park offers great opportunities for walking or biking as it has many places to rest and enjoy nature. The park is also home to friendly squirrels that visitors can encounter while sitting down.
My favorite place for my daily walks!
The park is very well maintained and has alot of amenities! My favorite thing about McArthur Island is seeing the deer, marmots, and beavers!
The park is also well lit for winter season so 6pm walks are bright and safe!

Went to Kamloops Gem Show that was held at the Sports Arena this month. After the show I decided to walked through the grounds in MacArthur Park on the way out.
They are very well maintained....beautiful green lawns and huge weeping birches with other variety of plants & seasonal flowers. Went to Xeriscape Garden, which is a lovely garden that offers a quiet space to sit and enjoy the tranquility of nature and is near the walking path.
The park itself is covers a vast area with walking trails thst encompass the whole park & along the west side, too.
Wildlife abounds in the park from squirrels, golden marmot, geese families, bear, many deer & bird species, occasionally cougars, and coyotes. It's a beautiful place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic.

Really nice park to walk or bike. I use to live very close to this park so I visited it frequently. Animals, running water, greenery, people... It had many places to stop and rest. The squirrels in this park are very nice! When I would sit down most of the time I'd have a squirrel appear in my lap lol I loved it! This park has a bit of everything.

Extremely well maintained. Lots of soccer fields baseball diamonds paved Pathway to walk the perimeter of the entire park. Even in a wheelchair.
Dogs are not allowed fortunately or unfortunately depending upon your viewpoint.
Lots of trees and vegetative growth. Is Not Unusual to see deer grazing near the paved path. You can literally walk past them and they will not run away a lot of the time.
There are also a lot of river views along the path. Marmots are also quite common and curious along the path. Benches with views of the river are scattered along the path as well.
Individuals Jog and families walk and ride bikes around the park. People are friendly and usually wave hello as you pass them going the other way. We love it!
Yes I almost forgot! There is a former 9-hole golf course that has been converted to a Frisbee Golf Course. And it is free. As well as a little mini golf course that is quite well maintained not fancy but fun. And it is also free. Bring your own balls in your own putter. Enjoy!
Riverside Park in Kamloops is a verdant oasis that offers a range of outdoor activities throughout the year. This urban green space features a sandy public beach along the river, recreational paths for walking and biking, as well as seasonal music and food events. Visitors can also enjoy amenities like washroom facilities, playgrounds, tennis courts and an off-leash dog park by the river.

The park is very beautiful. The children's playground and facilities are amazing. The game types are unique and fun. Unlike other places, I was surprised by the disciplined behavior of the children. What saddened me the most in this place was that I saw adults smoking cigarettes irresponsibly among many children. It is appropriate for the park staff to follow up and stop such behavior. Apart from this, the management and cleanliness of the park is also unique.

The BC Wildlife Park is a vast animal rehabilitation and zoo facility that houses various animals indigenous to the area, such as arctic wolves and grizzly bears. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Kamloops Lake, go bird watching or hiking in Salmon Arm. The wildlife park also features an impressive Wild Lights display showcasing illuminated dragons, arches and dinosaurs. Don't miss the train journey for just one dollar, where you might wonder how Santa and his reindeers stay atop the mountain.
I absolutely adore this park! The staff always radiate happiness and extend a warm welcome to visitors. The entire facility is meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment. As for the animals, they appear genuinely content within their enclosures. The park's commitment to enrichment and providing cozy hiding spots truly stands out.
One of my favorite experiences is attending the delightful bird shows . The petting zoo boasts an impressive variety of animals, making it a must-visit.

I went here only for the wild lights and it was quite amazing to experience. Got some of my favorite pictures and could see very few animals. Beautiful train journey though. Always keep one dollar for the train. Wondered how they kept the Santa and reindeers on top of the mountain. Loved the detailing in that also to include Rudolph the RED NOSE REINDEER. Illuminated dragon was really good so was the arch and dinosaurs. Overall a great experience.

Good way to kill a day with the little ones. Bunch of different rescue animals to check out. Even got a train that does a couple loops of the park. Worst part was a cheeseburger I ordered that I'm pretty sure wasn't meat(it was grey and slimy and tasted like freezer burnt cardboard) It inevitably found its way to the garbage after 2 bites. So if you eat at the Cafe order the wraps and not the burgers.

The admission was decent and they had a lot of different animals. Still was a bit disappointed to not being able to see the polar bears. I really liked the three legged Canadian Lynx they have here. Great place for kids and everyone to learn about the wildlife animals. Our kids loved all the exhibits. Since we were here on a hot August day, many of the animals were not out and visible. However, we did get to see the grizzlies which was most exciting for the kids. As well as the train ride, which was only $1 per ticket (bring cash).

Monte Creek Ranch Winery is a large winery in Thompson Valley that showcases the distinct character of its terroir through its wine production. Their cool-climate grapes thrive on the working ranch's 486-hectare land set in the rain shadow of Coast Mountains.
Consistently one of my favourite wineries to visit and only a quick 3hr drive from the Lower Mainland. Unpretentious with great views and wines. The restaurant is always a good idea, where you can enjoy wine flights or a bottle of your favourite on their patio. The Blueberry wine is a surprise with hints of basil, and the Hands Up White is a fabulous patio sipper. Don’t drive to, or through, Kamloops without a stop at this winery.

🍇Monte Creek Ranch Winery
Visited this unique winery in a 5-day trip to Sun Peaks, Kamloops.
Its around 20 minutes out of Kamloops heading Salmon Arm.
From the very beginning, the entrance inspires with a feeling of a real farm. Driving for some minutes, you reach the parking surrounded by picturesque vineyards.
The testing center and restaurant reside side by side, overlooking vineyards.
🍇 You have 9 options to test for $6 and it will be refunded if you buy any wines.
1- Chardonnay Reserve (2018)- $24.99
2- Riesling (2019)- $19.99
3- Hands Up White (Box 2019)- $34.99
4- Sparkling Rosé (2019)- $21.99
5- Rosé (2018)- $18.99
6- Pinot Noir Reserve (2019)- 34.99
7- Foch (2017)- $19.99
8- Cabernet Merlot (2017)- $21.99
9- Blueberry Wine- $17.99
My recommendations (my taste):
🥂2018 Chardonnay Reserve is unique as after drinking, it tastes in your mouth in 2 phases. First, like regular white wines, yet, after a while a second acidity taste bursts and you’ll enjoy it. I loved it and bought it.
🍾 2019 Hands up white would be one of your top choices which is a blend of three other wines. If the Box is available, its worth buying for a better price $44.99)
🍷 2019 Pinot Noir Reserve tastes awesome with wood taste at the end. As a big fan of Pinot Noir, you definitely try this.
🫐 Blueberry wine was my last option to buy and you can’t imagine how different it could be. I love the smooth taste.
🍷 2017 Foch is a must to test and even to buy. The taste is like no other.
Also, there are many accessories for anyone who is a wine-lover. Go through them and you’ll like many of them.
Restaurant atmosphere is special and you can see the vineyards while enjoying your food.

I make sure to stop into Monte Creek every time I am in the area. I have been impressed with their growth, both in terms of their facilities and in the quality of their wines. This family-friendly winery is spacious and the stunning scenery makes it a favourite location for weddings and other events.
In recent years they have put a big focus on sustainability and showing terroir in their wines.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Monte Creek offers a wide range of wines including some you have likely never tried before so you are sure to find several favourites. We left with a full mixed case.

Hosted my team's client appreciation party at Monte Creek Winery and it could not have been a better venue and a better event! I cannot show enough appreciation and gratitude for the team who helped make our event such a great success. All the new wines were available for tasting and the service and venue were next to none! Thanks again Monte Creek Winery!

Possibly my favourite winery & vibe on my trip so far. We got this up on the way back from our Kelowna/Vernon trip.
I would say competes with my favourite which was 50th parallel. Food was great here too. Best cob salad I’ve had in awhile

Lovely location, cute store and delicious wines. I don’t join wine clubs but this place had some very easy tasting wines that I’m excited to enjoy again!

We had a lovely wine tasting session at Monte Creek Winery which cost only $8 per person. We get to choose 4 wines to taste out of the list. Our host Mandy was wonderful and a great conversationalist. She gave us recommendations for the wines, shared more about her life and tried to know us better. Despite the wildfire smoke obscuring the view that many come for, our experience was made pleasant due to the enjoyable wine tasting in the company of Mandy!

Not only do I LOVE their wine, but I love the overall experience that Monte Creek provides. I've photographed weddings, I've enjoyed wine tastings and lunches. Monte Creek has wonderful staff and amazing wines.
If you are looking for an amazing venue to host your ceremony and reception, Monte Creek is spectacular!! Their Greenhouse space is amazing for ceremonies and receptions. I love photographing weddings here and cannot wait to come back again and again!!

Make sure to reserve your table in advance if you're visiting on the weekend. The food was good but the menu is limited, not too many options to order from. I recommend the spicy pepperoni. Best thing about this place is the view of the patio. Overall, it's a good experience.

The tasting experience was lovely, but there was a charge of $12.00 per person. If I had not purchased any wine, I would have no problem with that. I did spend $200.00 dollars and was still charged $48.00 for the four of us. So a little disappointed. We will not return, but will buy their lovely wine.

Gorgeous building with lots of parking, nice views, large room and a patio with a fireplace and a good menu of food. The charcuterie was delicious and staff were amazing and very friendly. Wine is great!

WOW! What a great place to go. Both times we've visited the food has been great, the atmosphere perfect and the weather even better. I would like to thank the staff and owners for being so awesome. Also a big shout out to the wines themselves.
I dislike sweet wines and every wine from here has been perfectly balanced but leaning towards dry. The foch from 2017 truly has notes of wildfire smoke in it.

Had such a great time! Absolutely loved it! Chris and Jessica were our guides for the Bucket List tour. Really friendly, knowledgeable guides. You can tell they have a great bond with all the dogs....who by the way are all gorgeous! So happy and friendly, you can tell they just live to run.
Highly recommend this for all the family. Thanks for a great time

Amazing experience following a gorgeous snowy trail “Into the Wild” tour amongst the beautiful trees and bypassing a snow covered lake. Professional service by all of the team made this an experience to remember for our family of 5. We also met all of the dogs; very friendly and all excited for lots of pats. Highly recommend this activity for all ages.

Unbelievable experience! I loved every single second. We got to interact with the dogs and even feed them treats after their run. The sled was so comfortable and our guide was wonderful. The trails are so beautiful. The lake was breathtaking. I can't say enough good things about this once in a lifetime experience.

My partner & I did the “Into The Wild” dog sledding tour with our guide Justin, who was very friendly & knowledgeable about the dogs and the local Sun Peaks area.
We got to meet all the dogs, learnt a bit about their breed and history of sledding. The sledding tour was magical, all rugged up and running through the trees and down hills with 8 very happy dogs. The dogs are very well looked after, friendly and cant wait to get out running. After the tour, we got to even give them a treat afterwards.
It was honestly one of the coolest experiences we have ever had the chance of doing.
Thank you Chris, Justin and most of all, the doggies for such an amazing experience that we will never forget.

It was an amazing experience! Beautiful views, friendly and professional staff and dogs were all super kind! Even my mother, that is usually a little bit scared of dogs, felt safe with them. Thanks to Korbin and Taryn, our guides, they really took time to make her feel comfortable with all our dogs’ team! I highly recommend this, one of a kind, experience! We can really feel the love and passion from everyone working at this company, which makes it even better!

Had such an amazing experience. We were a bit worried the kids (6 & 8yo) would get a bit cold or bored on the 90min run but I’m so glad we did it.
Cold wasn’t an issue. They put a big heavy blanket over you and then the canvas so it’s really not cold at all. My daughter didn’t even want her snow hoodie up.
There was no way anyone was getting bored no matter how long it was.
Highly recommend bringing sunglasses as the dogs can kick up loose snow when they break into a run.
Our guides Trent and Riley were fantastic. Told us when the best spots for photos were coming up you you’re not holding your phone out for 90min straight. They’re great with the kids. Clearly loved what they did and those dogs are so well looked after.
The dogs can’t wait to go for a run. They don’t let them run hard enough to get too tired, stopping and resting after every rise. We spent a good 30min at the end with the kids just playing with all the dogs.

We had a great time! An experience for life. Great views and lovely dogs. Would definitely do it again and recommend it. Dogs have as much fun as we do and are very well taken care of. Our guide, Chris, told us every detail and all curiosities about it!

The dogs were friendly and eager. The day was clear and bright. The scenery was stunning, the tree branches heavy with snow. Our guide, Chris made sure we were comfortable, safe & bundled up in the sled. He was informative and entertaining. He gave the dogs a break. We could stretch our legs, take photos and cuddle the dogs. At the end of the tour we got to give our hardworking new friends their treat of pork fat!!
Fabulous memory! Highly recommended!

Our dog sledding experience was so fantastic with Mountain Man Adventures! The dogs are looked after so well and treated with care, something which is very important to us, they were all so excited to be going sledding which was a great sign that they are enjoying themselves! The longer tour was so great, we saw beautiful views of the forest and the lake and stopped for photos. Our guide Riley was sensational, he was so knowledgable about the area and took so many great photos of us with the dogs, he was very professional with the sled and made us feel in safe hands the whole way round. This was a bucket list experience for us that did not disappoint!

What a fantastic experience…absolutely loved the dogs and the whole sledding experience. Chris was so relaxed and chatty, answering all our questions. We had 3 sleds out on our run, all the guides were friendly and relaxed while being professional and well in control. Best experience on the mountain so far for this winter season! We absolutely loved it from start to finish. Chris picked us up from the VDL and gave us loads of info about the village and surrounding area. Riley took us on our tour (the long tour) so worth it! He was super friendly and told us all about the dogs, the surroundings, tracks in the snow of different animals.
The dogs are just beautiful and their names are brilliant.
Thank you to all.

This was FANTASTIC! The whole team was friendly, welcoming, and informative. The dogs were so friendly, and our guides, Trent and Eden shared all about how they train the dogs, how they line them up on the team for pulling, what the dogs' personalities are, and a bit about dog sledding history as well. It was incredible to be pulled through the wild by dogs who so clearly love to run. The whole family was grinning the whole time -- definitely a must-do experience!

Sometimes I don’t want to review a place because I want it to stay a hidden gem and not overrun, which is Sun Peaks area but my gosh dog sledding with Mountain Man is one of the top life experience I was fortunate to have. Kate was amazing and knowledgeable, Chris was so helpful with ideas on what to do in the area. And the dogs. If you must have a reason, go for the dogs. They love dog sledding, they are so well taken care of and well socialized. The best part of already a “best of the best” tour was the “obligatory” say hi to all the dogs. Yes the 15+ dogs in addition to your sled dogs. How can you not, when they stare at you & Jedi mind trick you to go to them and give them lots of love. Please don’t miss this step. Thanks for an amazing experience

All you want to know about Wells Gray Provincial Park is available here. The visitor centre has washroom facilities available. If you can stop here do so as it is really nice.

Thank you. Maybe I have missed certain info in the center, but I didn't see specific information on hiking trails. I take Moul Falls for example, I almost gave up and didn't go to the base until a hiker told me it only took me 20 minutes to go down. I am so thankful I did because it's another cool experience. So, I wonder if you can play video, give recommendations, etc in the center and give hikers more info and guidance where to go and what to expect?? Just a thought.

Wells Gray was on my bucket list. We drove 3 hours and I was so excited. We stopped at the information building to pick up a brochure and map (you definitely need this). Our first stop was Spahats Falls, the closest Falls. We parked and had to change our of our shorts and sandals into warmer clothes. By the time we finished changing it started to pour rain. We tried waiting it out but it didn't let up for hours. So we went back home. Grrrrr. We were unable to get a hotel for a decent price due to the Terry Fox run that was happening. So we will go back as soon as we get the chance.

🌟🌲 A Natural Marvel Worth Witnessing! 🌲🌟
Helmcken Falls in BC is an absolute gem that has left me awestruck! This majestic waterfall, nestled within the breathtaking Wells Gray Provincial Park, is a true masterpiece of nature's beauty. Standing before the thundering cascade, I was humbled by the sheer force and elegance of the water plummeting down the rugged cliffs.
The trail leading to Helmcken Falls offers an invigorating journey through lush forests and captivating vistas. The anticipation builds with each step, and the payoff is beyond imagination. As you approach the viewing platform, the mist caresses your skin, and the sound of crashing water echoes through the canyon — a sensory symphony that's impossible to forget.
Whether you're an avid nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a moment of serenity, Helmcken Falls will not disappoint. The pristine wilderness surrounding the falls adds to its allure, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike.
Prepare to be transported to a realm where the power of nature takes center stage, leaving you in awe of the Earth's wonders. Helmcken Falls has etched itself into my heart, and I can't wait to return to this awe-inspiring masterpiece of nature's creation.

Thunderous falls! Simply breathtaking. 45 minute commute from clear water. Certainly the biggest and the baddest out of the 20 falls. Parking lot 2 minutes away from viewing platform. Information plaques provided.

This waterfall is huge! Pictures don't do it justice. The spray from the water has eroded the rock, carving a giant bowl-like shape behind the falls. You have to come listen to the sound and see its beauty for yourself :) this is probably the shortest walk to view a waterfall in the whole park.
Tay Canuel — Google review
This is undoubtedly the coolest waterfall I have ever seen! It's as if it came straight out of a fantasy movie, with a setting that makes you imagine a dragon living nearby or in the dark carved-out part of the fall. The fall is ten times better than what you see in the pictures.
However, please note that finding it might be a bit challenging since there is no service (data) detectable in the area, and our Google Maps was not working. I highly recommend planning ahead for navigation before heading here!

Amazing. We visit these amazing falls at least once a year. The hike in from the south side is quite nice and absolutely worth it. The unrestricted view of the falls is breathtaking. If you are able to hike in, I highly recommend it. Take your time as the path can be uneven in parts ... there are tree roots and rocks that can trip you up but aside from one or two small hills the hike is mostly flat.

Spahats Creek Falls, located in Wells Gray Provincial Park, is an impressive 246-ft. waterfall situated in a large rock canyon. The park boasts other spectacular waterfalls such as Maul Falls and Helmcken Falls, with Mount Robson Provincial Park being the last stop before heading to Jasper. Visitors can easily access Spahat and Maul Falls through short walks and may even spot bears on these trails or at the roadside.
These falls are one of biggest and the closest to highway which explains the largest parking lot and the most people. However there are lots of angles to see that falls from and seeing what water has done to the canyon is amazing.

This is a really beautiful place. It was a very short walk to the viewing area. I loved looking at the rock layers on the sides of the waterfalls. Super neat to see the layers of lava flow stacked on top of each other, and to be able to look back in time at each layer.

Beautiful spot. It's possible to hike down to the base of the falls if you're feeling adventurous. Requires proper hiking shoes/boots. Walking sticks and spikes not necessary, but would be very helpful, as the trail is pretty steep grade on loose dirt.
Approximately 200m beyond the viewing platform, there is a clearing on your left, which leads to an unofficial, but easy to follow trail. Not for the faint of heart.
Estimated 2 km round-trip to the base of the falls, with an elevation change of about 300m or so. Took about 1.5 hours of hiking time round-trip.
Otherwise, an easy few minute walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint. Washrooms and food stand at trailhead.

We arrived in Clearwater in the late afternoon, so decided to drive the 10k up to see Spahats Creek Falls before dinner. We had an amazing morning at the vavenby trail rides. Myself and my partner had never been on a horse before and thought we would give it a try. We was greeted by Sarah and Antonia from Germany with smiles and a warm welcome, the horses were already out and ready to go. So we kitted up and after a few simple instructions off we went. The horses were so easy to control and so well behaved, any worries I had soon went. The trails around the ranch were breath taking and after a long ride we ended up by the river for food and a chat. With there dog by our side the whole ride it was an amazing experience. One which I would gladly do again.
Many thanks ed and Sarah for allowing us to have this time on your ranch.

I can say that the guy who give us advices (sorry I don't remember of his name after this long time‚ I Can just say that he has a white beard) was by far the best we had. He gave us advices about animals‚ hikes to do (he was right‚ Kenney lake was probably the best hike without a lot of tourists we've done during this road trip) and others useful advices.
Forgive my bad english‚ but thanks a lot for all advices‚ and you should go here (if you plan to go to Jasper‚ you'll probably have better advices hère than in Jasper).

Unfortunately they only have 1 washroom which is in the souvenir store. Went to the Information building but there's none or rather closed? Not really sure but yeah! I waited for over 10 minutes just to use the washroom.
Other than that! It's a good place to walk around for a bit. Especially behind the Building where you can view the Mountain from the deck.

The first floor of this place is a gift store and information center. You will find useful booklets about tourist attractions and nature of BC, although I found some of them looks not updated.
The lower floor is a small museum full of information for kids and adults. A grizzly skink and head, a chart of tree's life, park Rangers uniforms,... We spent half an hour there.

I have traveled to many visitors centers in Canada and I must say this one lacks many things that a visitor to this area would need. I wanted a paper copy of a trail map, and none were available, although many from other areas in BC were available. I wanted information on hikes, and the staff were more concerned about selling souvenirs. It was very disappointing to see on this huge tourist route. The map I had to drive to the actual hike should be available at the visitors center, along with distances for the hikes at Mount Robson. This is usually standard information at provincial Park visitors centre's. Time to improve your services.

Wowa weewah! Very cool visitor centre - there's a massive deck in the back that directly faces mount robson. It's also one of the few places you can get Wi-Fi along this highway, although there is the Terry Fox rest stop that has Wi-Fi about 5 minutes away.
Otherwise there's tons of parking if you have a trailer or motorhome. if it's a great day and you can get a good view of the mountain make sure that you stop by and soak it in!

One of the best visitor center I have been to. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bathroom is very nice. There is a water fountain there you can fill your water bottles. Reduce plastic waste.
There is a balcony area with a fantastic view to the meadow. And at the balcony you can also connect to wifi and charge your devices. This year unfortunately Berg Lake trail is closed. All the pamphlets are about other BC tourists places. I will definitely come back when Berg Lake trails is reopened.

We got here when we were amazed by the grand corridors of Mr.Robson
This is a very nice visitor center located on the prime territory of grand view of Mt.Robson
It’s the only place for wi-if after a long travel with no signals from blue river.
The short trail behind , with tree lines gave us a memorable day with a black bear encounter when me and my kids were walking. Beautiful spot for pics.

Helpful staff. Great displays with facts about flora and fauna in the basement. Free wifi which is very helpful since there is no reception. Awesome views of Mount Robson.

We were fortunate to visit on a clear day and could see Mt Robson in all its awesome glory. My friend commented how there really are "breath taking" sights. We were driving from Prince George to Valemount and would have missed this worthwhile detour had friends no suggested we make it. I encourage you to make this stop too

The crew is very helpful to give idea which is place is best to go,they are so knowledgeable.
The view of Mount Robson is stunning in there back deck.
They have lots of parking and trail around the area.
This season the Berg trail is still close due to maintenance.
This park is a vast protected area with hiking, camping, fishing, and more. The mountain is famous for being the highest and most prominent in the Canadian Rockies. It's also home to a provincial park with 536 acres of pristine wilderness.
Mount Robson is the start of the Rocky Mountain Range. There are spectacular and beautiful views from here. It’s hard to find a clear day to see the mountain, even in the summer. If you like mountains this is a must see.

In our opinion, Mount Robinson is one of the most breathtaking mountains in North America! Please stop here to gather in the glorious views. All we can hope is that you are able to view the magnificent beast on a blue bird day! Catching a glimpse of the snow covered peak in the middle of summer goes to show it's elevation!
There is a ton of info to learn before heading there so make sure to check out our website!

Sites have great privacy and are very natural. Our site is a little close to the highway, but the highway was not busy at night.

Beautiful Jaw dropping mountains and breathtaking views.
It's one of the most beautiful part of the yellow head highway drive towards BC. There are a few shops for travellers and tourist to patronize. Also several areas for photo lovers.
Ensure your vehicle is in good shape as help may not come as quickly as you desire if needed.
Cellular network signals are very poor around these area due to the mountains.
Ensure your vehicle has enough gas to avoid disappointment. Not many gas stations are available around the mountain.

Beautiful Mountain. Was worth driving up from Calgary to see. I think its the second highest mountain in British Columbia. But the road to it was closed when i went due to logging.

Mount Robson Provincial Park is nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains & it one of British Columbia’s gems. Like other Mountain Parks, including Jasper, Banff & Radium Hot Springs, there are rivers, forests & canyons to explore. You can canoe, hike, kayak, & standup paddle board in the warmer months.
The Rocky Mountains boast mammoth lakes that resemble the inland seas that French novelist Jules Verne (1828-1905) wrote about in Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Please be careful when on the water, especially if you are a novice in watercraft travel. The weather can change quickly, & gentle waves could turn into white horses bouncing you.
You might find Yellowhead Lake safer than Moose. One resident who had not seen the ocean until adulthood said Moose Lake was a sea swept by the forces of nature. Consider bringing supplies such as bear spray, a bucket, extra dry clothing & a life jacket, a waterproof phone, a wet bag & a whistle etc. The bucket can help to bail out water.
Is your seating comfortable? Do you need to upgrade it with portable seating designed for watercraft. Time on a vessel can be tough when you sit for long periods so your seating is important.
Please stay close to the shore, especially if this type of travel is unfamiliar to you. Crossing from one side to the lake to the other can be a hazardous route, so it’s crucial to consistently check the weather conditions. Additionally, informing others of your anticipated arrival and return times is highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place! Here you get to see snowy and really tall mountains! And because the Mount Robson Provincial Park is near BC and Alberta, you could play around and you jump from province to province, that sounds cool to me!

What a wonderful park. It’s in the mountains 🏔. Love nature and all that it entails. We drove thorough the park on the Yellow Head highway 🛣. We stopped at the Mount Robson Visitor Centre. It was a nice stop. It would be wonderful to spend more time exploring the park but as with most people we were on our way to somewhere else. I definitely recommend this park and all the wonders it beholds.

I come here every summer when I can. One of the most amazing trails on Earth. If you only have a couple of hours, a trip to Kinney Lake is well worth it. If you have a couple of days, the trip to Berg Lake (and Snowbird Pass) are breathtaking. Must book a loooooooooooong time in advance.

Honestly the berg lake trail is one of the nicest hikes I've done. We went up to emperor falls and back (32km+) in one day, and although it was totally worth it it was quite heave on the knees. I recommend everyone to do the hike, as I can only imagine what Berg lake itself will look like, but make sure you got a few days time so you can appreciate it in all it's glory without having to walk around with a knee brace for a week after 😉

I like the park a lot. The sites are nice and quiet and private. There are two showers in Robson meadows campground for women and a family shower there too. And the flushing toilet is good. The visitor center is very nice. I also went to the cafe every morning for coffee. They have a lot of tasty treats and lunch items and snacks, drink and ice cream and wine. everything looked nice and cute in the cafe and staff were very nice. The Berg Lake trail and a few other trails are all closed. Left only the fraser river nature walk and the outlander falls and a trail from visitor center to the top of a hill. Maybe there are a couple other ones I didn't go. But the trail from visitor center was really nice. Here are a few pictures from the summit.

One of my favorite provincial parks in all of Canada. Sadly the best trail in the park, the Berg Lake Trail, is closed until probably 2025 due to significant damage from flooding and landslides. There are 7 campgrounds along this trail for backcountry camping in many different environments. Reservations are required for all of them. Hopefully some improvements will be made as they make the needed repairs although compare to back country sites in the US, these are already far superior. Many have cooking shelters established and pit toilets.

We passed the Moose Lake in the province of British Columbia while doing a VIA Rail trip from Vancouver to Jasper National Park in Alberta, in July 2019. The Canadian National's Rail line and the Yellowhead Highway run along the north shore of the lake and we got very scenic views of the lake from the train window. Moose Lake is the only lake along the course of the Fraser River.

As an explorer, here's my spin...
The rest area, boat launch is located on the East end of Moose Lake. On sunny days, you may see crystal blue water, and from this vantage point looking South, you can see Thunder Falls.

Beautiful lake that you can see from the road...very long lake with only one place to stop at the small public boat launch area. Did not see any Moose.
