Fintry Provincial Park and Protected Area is a stunning destination in the Okanagan Valley, offering visitors the opportunity to camp, hike, and experience a dramatic waterfall. The former waterfront estate boasts a restored manor and historic farming buildings that provide insight into the area's rich history. One of the main attractions of this park is its beach access and gorgeous hiking trails that offer breathtaking views of the surroundings. Additionally, visitors can tour the Fintry family home which still stands on the property.
I had the opportunity to see the waterfall with a high volume of water, due to the melting of Terrace Mountain and other peaks. It has been impressive.
Also, it is wonderful to be on the shore of Lake Okanagan with its clear waters and peaceful atmosphere.

Wonderful campground, very clean restrooms. Beautiful and quiet. The campsites No 1-50 is our favorite place to go. Has nice trees for shade.

There is nothing not love about Fintry Provincial Park. There is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Okanagan Valley. Historic farming buildings, a gorgeous hike, camping with beach front access and is just the best.
One of our favorite things is the information of the Fintry their family home is still standing with options for tours! Lots of neat info to read up on before going!
Chalk it up on your adventure bucket list because it's a spot you will never forget!

Awesome campsite! Some of the sites are very open, so they can get sunny and hot during the day. There is tall grass separating the sites though so there is still some privacy. Proximity to the lake is great! The staff were lovely and very helpful, and there are some cool old buildings that you can check out in the park!

Wonderful, well run campground. Lovely beachside with two swimming areas and a large, easily accessible dog beach in the middle. Great heated showers and mostly flush toilets. Fantastic playground for kids. There is a strong breeze sometimes from the southwest so be prepared if you are in an exposed site. Loop 1 is the most shaded and loop 2 is varied but right beside dog beach. Loops 3 - 5 are the newest with some smaller trees but the best shower block. Level area so great for easy cycling and walking.

I love this park. It is beautiful and the sites are very big. I've been visiting this park for 15 years. It is excellent for families, boaters, bikers and hikers. The beaches are clean for swimming and there is a dog beach as well.

Beautiful provincial park, lots of campsites, ( There are 5 different sections) the hayfield is the newest & is pretty hot (very little shade🌞) & can be very windy ( I've watched people's tents blow away).. So recommend a RV/trailer in those sites. The park is Family friendly with playgrounds and lots of clean shower houses. The history of the place is really cool. I would recommend the tour of the mansion, a walk up the waterfall stairs, a swim or paddle at the beautiful beaches. Fun for all ages. (Make sure to bring your mosquito repellent!! ( there are areas that they swarm here) and water shoes for the beach. It is a beautiful place

Located in Vernon and Kelowna border. A very quiet and kid friendly campsite. Staff are SUPER NICE and all Facilities are CLEAN.
Campsites are very well maintained. Lots of places to do such as hiking the nearby waterfalls, walk path, beach, boat dock, brand new playgrounds etc.
Note: Gate closes at 11:00 PM but someone can open it for you if needed.

Beautiful, quiet, lakefront, really meets the mark. Public picnic spaces with a boat launch. Dog beach also and 160 sites. Be careful though, most sites over #100 are in a field with no shade far from the water.

So….. I’ll start by saying that this is a nice and unique campground. But, depending on the time of year and where your site is located will determine whether or not you will enjoy your stay. We had the unfortunate luck of camping in an exposed site on loop C site 95. So on top of dealing with a crazy amount of mosquitoes (no surprise since this year has been exceptionally bad) we were completely exposed to the searing heat and sun the Okanagan is known for. We ended up cutting our trip short because it was simply not enjoyable. During the day it was impossible to stay in the tent or sheltered dining area because it was 10 degrees hotter than outside and if you sat outside the mosquitoes would eat you alive. The people that run this place should really consider blocking out the exposed sites to RV’s only and leave the sheltered tree lined sites to the tent campers. This truly is a unique location with a beautiful lake and lots to do for families so it’s a shame that the experience of camping here can be so different depending on what site you get. As others have suggested, planting tree’s for more shade and doing a better job with mosquito control can turn this campground from a 3 star to a 5 star location. In the meantime they can make an immediate difference by prioritizing the tree lined spots for us tent campers. It was just a crime seeing giant RV’s parked in most of the tree lined sites, enjoying the shade, running AC while everyone in the exposed middle sites were roasting in the heat.

Calm beach. Large campground. Nice little tracking around waterfall. Liquor store nearby. Great place other than narrow road driving to get there.

Loved this campground! Lots of large campsites and mostly private. Some have less shade. Lots of crickets. Easy walk to the beach from all sites. Lots of history walls with the manor to the old barns. Beautiful views of waterfall. Definitely bring bug spray for the hour of sun to shade. Will be coming back for sure.

Stayed in the group site and did the hike to the waterfall.

This is one of the shorter hikes to be found in this area. However, it is visually spectacular and physically intense. Be prepared for many, many stairs! One of our favourite places to visit. It is a bit of a drive from Kelowna, but well worth it. The drive is scenic and relaxing. There are other hikes to experience along the way as well! Be sure to give it a try if you’re looking for a quick, unique hike!

Spacious, lovely views, an enjoyable waterfall hike nearby, and the park staff are friendly and helpful. Restrooms and campsites were clean and overall satisfactory.
Nestled in Lake Country, the 50th Parallel Estate Winery boasts a sprawling 51-acre property with over 30 acres dedicated to vineyards. Renowned for its Dijon clones of Pinot Noir and varietals like Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer, this winery has been excelling since its establishment in 2014.
Makenzie was our very knowledgeable waiter. The service was over the top. Each course that was brought out was explained to the detail. It was an exceptional fine dining experience. The flavours were intricately put together in a mouth watering experience. Ingredients were local and fresh.

This winery is absolutely stunning 🤩. We did the essential wine tasting for $8 and tasted 5 wines. This winery is more on the white wine side then red. But overall the tasting was great. Afterwords we went to the restaurant. In the tasting room we were told it’s happy hour but when we got to the restaurant they weren’t too happy to give us happy hour menus. The hostess told us happy hour is only in the outdoor seating and the bar but we were seated at the kind of inside seating. They moved us to the bar with rude faces and were little snarky about it. It was 33•c outside and we were sat in front of the flaming hot pizza oven. My boyfriend and I were melting. The food was good but way over price. The oysters on the happy hour menu were more expensive then on the real menu. But over all the winery was great but the restaurant I dont think Id go to again.

Brought my wife here for her birthday lunch earlier in the month. Tasting room has a stunning view of the vineyard. Great variety of wines.
The restaurant is well set and has a wonderful selection of great bites. We loved and would recommend everything on these photos..

Food was incredible and the service was beyond exceptional 👌
Anyone with celiac, you can feel completely safe in their hands! I feel absolutely blessed!
Beautiful scenery, even amidst the fog.
Lovely wines - the Riesling was perfect for an afternoon event and one I will come back for.
The drive is most definitely worth it... If you're pondering, hesitate no longer.
I've been out several times and am always impressed and pleasantly satisfied. By the food, wine, and people that make this place so spectacular!

While the staff was unable to provide me with a paid tour, Travis was more than happy to give us a wine tasting and a small tour of the estate. Travis has made our afternoon beyond what we expected and we will be coming back.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The staff here are very pleasant and knowledgeable. The atmosphere, the architecture and the view is absolutely beautiful.
To the staff of 50th Parallel Estate Winery and Travis, thank you.

I’ve been here for dinner and loved it so much I knew I’d go back the next time I’m in Kelowna. Recently, I went back for lunch and it was just as good as I remembered it - both the service and quality of food were on point. If you like seafood, I recommend the squid and the scallops to start!

Sure, it’s a little further down the road, but this is a must visit winery in the Okanagan.
“An Exceptional Tasting Experience”
When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly gal. We chatted briefly, and mentioned our desire to chat with the wine maker if he was available. Frankly, we heard his dog was on the property, therefore he must be, right? To be honest, we wanted to meet the dog and get a picture, as this dog is the cover dog on the very popular “dogs of the wineries (or Okanagan wineries)” calendar that comes out every year.
Regardless, we were able to speak with Kelsey, the assistant winemaker. She has experience in wineries both in North America, and in the southern hemisphere. It was very nice of her to take the time to chat with us a bit about the wine, wine making process, and the seemingly endless amount of variables that go into creating the types of amazing wines that 50th Parallel has on offer. She has a lot of knowledge, and I am thankful for that time.
Then a gentleman named Alex took over the tasting. What can I say about Alex? This man is a very eloquent wealth of knowledge when it comes to wine. More so perhaps, is his personality and love for wine that comes through during the tasting as he presents the wine, and describes it. He spoke very eloquently with descriptor words that really painted a picture of the process of making wine, and what some of the influencing factors are, what effect they can have on the wine, it’s structure, it’s taste, it’s color, aroma, or smell. And he does this without a whiff of pretentiousness.
As I’m curious about improving or increasing my wine knowledge, I was thankful. When you get to speak with someone who clearly has dedicated a significant portion of their life to this craft, to be able to have them share their knowledge is really quite a treat. Overall, an exceptional wine tasting experience.
What we tasted:
Blanc De Noir
2022 Pinot Gris
2023 Pinot Noir rosé
2020 Chardonnay
Pinot Noir
It truly was a stand out experience, to meet the assistant winemaker, and then have Alex complete the tasting experience. Can’t recommend this winery enough. Go there, and taste one of the best Chardonnay's in the entire Okanagan.

AMAZING! The food, the wine and the staff continue to make this my favourite winery and restaurant in the Okanagan. I always take out of town guests to 50th Parallel for an exquisite wine tasting and delicious food experience.

Specifically for the restaurant, our waiter was absolutely fantastic. So friendly and personable, made sure we had a great time. Duck wings and mushroom pizza were great. Portions are decent.
Tastings wise, they're informative about the characteristics of each wine and their notes. All tasting wines were on the drier side.

Salad and burger was delicious. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat by the bar and watched them make pizza 😊. We also got a wonderful tour of the winery — beautiful view and wonderful service. We left with a couple bottles. A red and champagne that we tried during the tasting 🍾

First time at 50th Parallel Winery and it was a blast! Tasting their wines was a fun experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, even accommodating our large group without reservations when it wasn’t busy. Tickets were $35 each after tax, which seemed fair, but I was hoping for a bit more wine. Overall, a great introduction to the winery scene!

50th Parallel is a fantastic winery located in Lake Country. They have the best Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and I love their traditional method sparkling wine as well. Biggest recommendation- STAY for a bite to eat at the restaurant. The food is incredible, with beautiful views from every table.

Wow!! The Food was so unique & tasty! We all loved our meals. I had the Sablefish and it was extraordinarily good! The wine was delicious too. Our service was great too! Will definitely be back.
Raquel Millikin — Google review
This was the first winery we visited on the start of a wine-tasting vacation to the Okanagan Valley. We had a reservation for a tour and tasting and 50th Parallel was the first stop. That was a mistake because it totally spoiled us for every subsequent winery. So far, no other winery has lived up to the incredible experience at 50th Parallel.
Alex was our guide and we began in the tasting room with a glass of their sparkling Petillant. Then we went out into the vineyards armed with a glass of their gewurztraminer. At every point in the tour we had an opportunity to taste a different wine. We wound up back in the tasting room knowing a lot more about the terroir and philosophy behind these excellent wines. We wrapped up with a tasting of several excellent Pinot Noirs. Alex has his WSET4 qualification and was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He gave us a lot of recommendations for other wineries to try.
Did I mention the place is beautiful!? 50th Parallel has our highest recommendation. I just wish they shipped to the USA but then again, it's a good excuse to return to BC.

So delicious we ended up going for lunch on a Friday and dinner on a Saturday. Our server Heather was fantastic and was spot on with regards to her recommendations. They make all their bread and pastries in house, so the house sourdough is a must. That seaweed burger was fantastic. The scallops were cooked perfectly and covered in a truffle foam. The duck breast, duck wings, crab cakes, gnocchi, mushroom toast, sable fish, chicken sandwich it was all divine. Of course the wine list was well curated.
Lulu Phongmany — Google review
Came for a light lunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon. The restaurant is in a open air room with floor to ceiling glass with blinds, so your view is not obstructed and lots of light coming through.
The menu is west coast with a Asian influence to it. The crab cakes was nestled in a Tom yum foam that did have a little kick to it. Lots of flavour and texture on a small plate. The scallops were perfectly pan seared with a white shoyu emulsion.
Overall an enjoyable light dinner with fabulous service. Would have loved to been able to order a tasting flight to try a bit more of their wine.
Will be coming back to give it another go for the full experience.

Ellison Provincial Park is a state park located on Okanagan Lake, known for its beautiful forested benchlands and rocky shoreline. It offers 71 spacious campsites surrounded by Douglas Fir and Ponderosa Pine trees, ideal for seasonal camping. The park also features hiking trails that offer stunning views of the lake and surrounding areas, making it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
I'm absolutely in love with this place. It has clean beaches with stunning watercolors, red rocks, and gorgeous views. Hiking, cliff jumping, boating - everything you'd like to do is available here. Even pedal boards are available for rent on the beach. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. The campground is also well-maintained, with spacious sites that offer a sense of privacy. You can purchase ice and ice cream at the campground

Such a beautiful place! I camped and climbed there for 2 days. The only reason I gave 4 starts is because they don't allow dogs around climbing area and I hate that rule.
Sobia Noreen — Google review
This campsite is a great combination of woodsy and beachy. The campsites are big and shaded by the tall trees. There are three beach areas. One for dogs, one main beach and the day use area. Red rock sand beaches are wonderful. The only drawback is that they are all a good hike from the campsite. Flush toilets and showers are great with a dish washing station behind the showers. Camp
Host is awesome. Would have rated this place five stars except for the long hike to the beaches.

It is a cute place for a short stay. If you go to Vernon, you can figure out a lot of wineries, and I'm happy to have good memories with my cat here. The staff here are friendly and take good care of the campsite, and their washroom/shower place is CLEAN🏕always enjoy the trail here.

Such an incredible park. I've only used the day-use facilities. But the views are wonderful, the beaches are pleasant and sunny with tree/shade options. There's climbing, hiking and biking available (along with lake sports). I love visiting this park.

Nice quiet place, the campground is nice and in shade of trees. The beaches has sun all day, and are clean and not that busy like in Kelowna. You have to park in parking lot and then carry your beach stuff with you (walk 5 min). But is worth it. Clean water is refreshing.

We drove for a couple of hours with this park as our destination but we were disappointed when we got there and discovered it closed for the season. I'm puzzled about why they would close parks in the winter but I guess they're concerned about snow cover on the steep roads. Nevertheless, we were very impressed with the scenery along the way, even on a foggy overcast day.
This was the first time in my life in BC that I've seen a Park Ranger and he just pulled in to turn his vehicle around.

What a great place, been here 4 times now for a one week stay each time. We have such wonderful memories here as a family. Great staff, always found them pleasant to talk to. The swimming is great too. Also the deer in the camp ground and neat to see as well, if you're still and don't move they get pretty close to you.

Great park to day trip to for us. It has great mountain bike trails. The new trail from the bike parking lot down to the camp area is fun for the kids. This time of year you get the playground to yourself.
The pump track is fun for my 4 and 6 year olds.

Lots if parking, bathrooms all over and picnic tables and benches throughout the park.
My husband and I had so much fun here. We got to play for a while on our money. Which was such a refreshing change. It let you play up and down rather than eating all the money immediately. Casinos used to be more like this but not so much now. This place was fantastic!

I accept that I'll go to a Casino to lose money. I'm spending it to be entertained. So where's the entertainment here? Where's the flash? The dash? The excitement. This place has hundreds of digital slot machines and nothing else. It's like a meat farm for getting addicts to push a button as many times per hour as possible.
Ditch the awful digital machines. Go analog. Make your slot machines old school pull handle style. Have a couple dozen of them. Add some variety. Real things. I'll happily keep dropping money into something to watch a puck or marble drop through a board. Rock the roulette. Games of actual hands on chance. Put an exotic fountain in the middle of the floor. Get creative. Make the place an experience. Not an addict farm. Right now it just feels like it has no style or substance. All I saw was a couple dozen locals sitting quietly in front of digital slot machines button tapping their savings away.

Only there for the poker game, Texas no limit hold-em, so can't comment as to the rest. Staff were professional and friendly. Dealers know what they are doing and kept the game moving at a reasonable pace. Poker game itself was alright, 4 of the players at my table were of the I only play queens, kings and aces, but I'll mix it up with jacks once in a while to keep my table image loose, variety. Besides that there was a good mix of recreational players coming through the game. Could have used another server or two, but that seems to be the norm everywhere these days. My only complaint is that you can't order food in the casino, something too do with the cash register system in place, was the reason I got. Anyways to sum it up,
Cleanliness
-Casino 5/5
-Bathrooms 5/5
Food -match public house 5/5
Overall the casino feels modern and well maintained 5/5.
Staff -friendly, professional and helpful but a bit hard to find at times 4/5.
Smokers patio-clean, comfortable seating, nicely decorated 5/5.

Had not even touched a machine / used the ATM st the back. $400 approved on my card, but money was jammed in machine, would not open. Everi E machine - atm guys came and unharmed the machine - lo and behold there was my $400 but because the atm guy had touched it the casino staff, which were hard to find - no one with any authority / their big bully bouncer ejected me because the bank I phoned told me to call the police , told me never to come back - I had told other customers not to use that ATM - as if I would EVER go back in that dismal joint . The onus was on me to get my money back - number they gave me for the ATM company doesn’t work - it cost me 400.0O to use their bathroom and I am 73 yrs old, banned from going back because THEIR machine was defective - very bad way to attract the public -

Kenna Cartwright Nature Park is a spacious park that offers gentle, picturesque trails for hiking, cycling and snowshoeing all year round. While the hike might be an uphill climb, it can still be taken at your own pace to enjoy the stunning views. However, those with weak knees should beware of the downhill journey. The park also has various trails with different levels of difficulty and length which are well-maintained for peaceful and relaxing walks.

I went on this hike twice and both times were very nice. It is an uphill hike so if you have bad knees be prepared for the trick back down. Other then it being uphill it was a pretty easy hike if you go at your own pace. The view is worth it! Beware of small cactus if you have a dog wandering near. I also heard the rattles but never saw any snakes. Overall a great walk :)

They are very well maintained....beautiful green lawns and huge weeping birches with other variety of plants & seasonal flowers. Went to Xeriscape Garden, which is a lovely garden that offers a quiet space to sit and enjoy the tranquility of nature and is near the walking path.
The park itself is covers a vast area with walking trails thst encompass the whole park & along the west side, too.
Wildlife abounds in the park from squirrels, golden marmot, geese families, bear, many deer & bird species, occasionally cougars, and coyotes. It's a beautiful place to spend the afternoon or have a picnic.

Really nice park to walk or bike. I use to live very close to this park so I visited it frequently. Animals, running water, greenery, people... It had many places to stop and rest. The squirrels in this park are very nice! When I would sit down most of the time I'd have a squirrel appear in my lap lol I loved it! This park has a bit of everything.

I love the deer at the park. It adds to how relaxing it is..when it's not full of athletes that is lol.

Extremely well maintained. Lots of soccer fields baseball diamonds paved Pathway to walk the perimeter of the entire park. Even in a wheelchair.
Dogs are not allowed fortunately or unfortunately depending upon your viewpoint.
Lots of trees and vegetative growth. Is Not Unusual to see deer grazing near the paved path. You can literally walk past them and they will not run away a lot of the time.
There are also a lot of river views along the path. Marmots are also quite common and curious along the path. Benches with views of the river are scattered along the path as well.
Individuals Jog and families walk and ride bikes around the park. People are friendly and usually wave hello as you pass them going the other way. We love it!
Yes I almost forgot! There is a former 9-hole golf course that has been converted to a Frisbee Golf Course. And it is free. As well as a little mini golf course that is quite well maintained not fancy but fun. And it is also free. Bring your own balls in your own putter. Enjoy!
Riverside Park in Kamloops is a verdant oasis that offers a range of outdoor activities throughout the year. This urban green space features a sandy public beach along the river, recreational paths for walking and biking, as well as seasonal music and food events. Visitors can also enjoy amenities like washroom facilities, playgrounds, tennis courts and an off-leash dog park by the river.
Such a beautiful park in the core of Kamloops. There is even an off leash dog park by the river. The trail winds all along the river. It’s a beautiful walk and, for us, a perfect time of year.

I love this park. It is very easy to access and a place to see year around. They have construction going on right now so some of the areas are not accessible but hopefully they are all done my next summer.

The park is very beautiful. The children's playground and facilities are amazing. The game types are unique and fun. Unlike other places, I was surprised by the disciplined behavior of the children. What saddened me the most in this place was that I saw adults smoking cigarettes irresponsibly among many children. It is appropriate for the park staff to follow up and stop such behavior. Apart from this, the management and cleanliness of the park is also unique.

Thoroughly enjoyed this park. My wife and I were staying at the Delta hotel downtown and it was a short walk to this park. It was a hot day and we came here at about 10 pm for a nice walk around the park. There are washroom facilities available here. There is a spray park, riverside beach, walking trails, playground and tennis courts. If you’re looking for a great park in Kamloops this is the place for you.

A beautiful and expansive park along the river in downtown Kamloops. Lots of open green spaces, big play structures for the kids, and other sports facilities. A great place for a picnic or to daydream away an afternoon. Worth a visit!

The park also offers live music, which adds a vibrant and lively ambience to the surroundings. Moreover, the water games are a source of endless entertainment, with people of all ages joyfully splashing around and having a great time. Riverside Park truly captures the essence of fun and relaxation, making it the perfect destination for anyone seeking a memorable outdoor experience.

I was on my way back from Revelstoke and found this park near the beach. This park is recommended for everyone. There are picnic tables, a playground for the kids and you can go out swimming too but there are limits on how far you can go. It's also close to nice restaurants so you don't have to far to find something to eat.

I am not a localite and dont mean to be rude but it's an average park. Nothing great. Quite simple but peaceful. They also have a play area for kids. If you are not from Kamloops, then it's OK even if you don't visit. You are not missing out on something.

Went for a ‘Music in the Park’ free concert. However the wildfire smoke was getting thick, so we left early, as did others.
Very nice stage/venue for concerts & thanks to local sponsorship we understand these concerts are held regularly.

A shining example of a modern playground: rope structures, swings, rubberized ground, zip lines and musical instruments. Where this playground excels is the accessible features which include teeter totters, a merry-go-round and swings/zip line! Also, the splash park is single handedly the best splash park I've ever been to.

Beautiful wooded park with massive trees and a walkway near the meeting of 2 rivers, the Thompson North and South. You can actually see where the rivers meet due to the different colors of the rivers water. Beautiful flowers and lots of benches along the rivers edge!
The BC Wildlife Park is a vast animal rehabilitation and zoo facility that houses various animals indigenous to the area, such as arctic wolves and grizzly bears. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Kamloops Lake, go bird watching or hiking in Salmon Arm. The wildlife park also features an impressive Wild Lights display showcasing illuminated dragons, arches and dinosaurs. Don't miss the train journey for just one dollar, where you might wonder how Santa and his reindeers stay atop the mountain.
I absolutely adore this park! The staff always radiate happiness and extend a warm welcome to visitors. The entire facility is meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment. As for the animals, they appear genuinely content within their enclosures. The park's commitment to enrichment and providing cozy hiding spots truly stands out.
One of my favorite experiences is attending the delightful bird shows . The petting zoo boasts an impressive variety of animals, making it a must-visit.
But here's the real gem: the Christmas Light Up event. It's nothing short of remarkable! As a Kamloops resident, I find myself returning to this magical place at least once a month. It's simply that good!

I went here only for the wild lights and it was quite amazing to experience. Got some of my favorite pictures and could see very few animals. Beautiful train journey though. Always keep one dollar for the train. Wondered how they kept the Santa and reindeers on top of the mountain. Loved the detailing in that also to include Rudolph the RED NOSE REINDEER. Illuminated dragon was really good so was the arch and dinosaurs. Overall a great experience.

Good way to kill a day with the little ones. Bunch of different rescue animals to check out. Even got a train that does a couple loops of the park. Worst part was a cheeseburger I ordered that I'm pretty sure wasn't meat(it was grey and slimy and tasted like freezer burnt cardboard) It inevitably found its way to the garbage after 2 bites. So if you eat at the Cafe order the wraps and not the burgers.

Loved it, it was a really fun experience! Each animal exhibit had lots of interesting information about that animal, the train ride was super fun, the park was really clean, and the gift shop had lots of cool things (I bought several items)! Loved spending the day here, I would visit again!

We absolutely love seeing the birds of prey, and the grizzlies are always putting on a show. The kids love the park and the sprinkler park. Bring a blanket and picnic and set up on the big grassy lawn!
We also go every year around New Years for the Wild lights display

The admission was decent and they had a lot of different animals. Still was a bit disappointed to not being able to see the polar bears. I really liked the three legged Canadian Lynx they have here. Most of the cages are quite large and allow ample space to see the animal, specially the further in you go where they have the herbivores.

Great variety of rescued animals
Didn't get to see some animals as they were sleeping which is understandable.
Commendable rescue work!
Too many animals to list! Grizzly bear and cougar are there!

Really cool place! All the animals are rescues or rehabs. Seems the habitats are a little overgrown but we still saw the grizzlies, the kermodes bears, cougar, wolves, fox, elk, rams, mountain goats and so much more in the 1.5 hr we were there. Go early to beat the heat!

Always a fantastic experience at the Wild Animal Park. The staff are very friendly, the facilities are amazing, and we always enjoy viewing the many animals at the park. Always an educational and enjoyable experience and every single visit offers something just a little bit different! ... Gets better every time we visit! The Grizzlies were very active today and Uncle Chris the Clown seems to have become a regular at the park and the kids love taking a break and enjoying his antics! ... ... Great place for kids and everyone to learn about the wildlife animals. Our kids loved all the exhibits. Since we were here on a hot August day, many of the animals were not out and visible. However, we did get to see the grizzlies which was most exciting for the kids. As well as the train ride, which was only $1 per ticket (bring cash).
Nice playground area for the kids. Lots of picnic tables in shaded areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Animals are well taken care of.

It’s a great wildlife zoo, very educational for kids and everyone to learn things about wildlife animals. During the time we went I guess was a bit too hot so some of animals hide inside, however we did see lots of animals. Make sure to get on the train for a quick tour it’s only a buck per person, what a deal. Overall, it’s a place you should visit if you are nearby the area.

Worthwhile. This is great for adults and children alike with a lot of interesting information available on many animals.
Got to see Clover the Spirit Bear, which was great, but also many other beautiful creatures living their lives in what appeared to be very nice, well-maintained and thoughtful conditions

Its natural content makes the environment beautiful and attractive. The wildlife sanctuary contains a variety of animals. Anyone visiting Kamloops should check this place out. There is ample parking space on site. It contains bears, wolves, eagles, foxes and other animals. It also has a playground for children. The employees are humble and sincere.
Monte Creek Ranch Winery is a large winery in Thompson Valley that showcases the distinct character of its terroir through its wine production. Their cool-climate grapes thrive on the working ranch's 486-hectare land set in the rain shadow of Coast Mountains.
Consistently one of my favourite wineries to visit and only a quick 3hr drive from the Lower Mainland. Unpretentious with great views and wines. The restaurant is always a good idea, where you can enjoy wine flights or a bottle of your favourite on their patio. The Blueberry wine is a surprise with hints of basil, and the Hands Up White is a fabulous patio sipper. Don’t drive to, or through, Kamloops without a stop at this winery.

🍇Monte Creek Ranch Winery
Visited this unique winery in a 5-day trip to Sun Peaks, Kamloops.
Its around 20 minutes out of Kamloops heading Salmon Arm.
From the very beginning, the entrance inspires with a feeling of a real farm. Driving for some minutes, you reach the parking surrounded by picturesque vineyards.
The testing center and restaurant reside side by side, overlooking vineyards.
🍇 You have 9 options to test for $6 and it will be refunded if you buy any wines.
1- Chardonnay Reserve (2018)- $24.99
2- Riesling (2019)- $19.99
3- Hands Up White (Box 2019)- $34.99
4- Sparkling Rosé (2019)- $21.99
5- Rosé (2018)- $18.99
6- Pinot Noir Reserve (2019)- 34.99
7- Foch (2017)- $19.99
8- Cabernet Merlot (2017)- $21.99
9- Blueberry Wine- $17.99
My recommendations (my taste):
🥂2018 Chardonnay Reserve is unique as after drinking, it tastes in your mouth in 2 phases. First, like regular white wines, yet, after a while a second acidity taste bursts and you’ll enjoy it. I loved it and bought it.
🍾 2019 Hands up white would be one of your top choices which is a blend of three other wines. If the Box is available, its worth buying for a better price $44.99)
🍷 2019 Pinot Noir Reserve tastes awesome with wood taste at the end. As a big fan of Pinot Noir, you definitely try this.
🫐 Blueberry wine was my last option to buy and you can’t imagine how different it could be. I love the smooth taste.
🍷 2017 Foch is a must to test and even to buy. The taste is like no other.
Also, there are many accessories for anyone who is a wine-lover. Go through them and you’ll like many of them.
Restaurant atmosphere is special and you can see the vineyards while enjoying your food.

I make sure to stop into Monte Creek every time I am in the area. I have been impressed with their growth, both in terms of their facilities and in the quality of their wines. This family-friendly winery is spacious and the stunning scenery makes it a favourite location for weddings and other events.
In recent years they have put a big focus on sustainability and showing terroir in their wines.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Monte Creek offers a wide range of wines including some you have likely never tried before so you are sure to find several favourites. We left with a full mixed case.

We had a lovely wine tasting session at Monte Creek Winery which cost only $8 per person. We get to choose 4 wines to taste out of the list. Our host Mandy was wonderful and a great conversationalist. She gave us recommendations for the wines, shared more about her life and tried to know us better. Despite the wildfire smoke obscuring the view that many come for, our experience was made pleasant due to the enjoyable wine tasting in the company of Mandy!

Make sure to reserve your table in advance if you're visiting on the weekend. The food was good but the menu is limited, not too many options to order from. I recommend the spicy pepperoni. Best thing about this place is the view of the patio. Overall, it's a good experience.

The tasting experience was lovely, but there was a charge of $12.00 per person. If I had not purchased any wine, I would have no problem with that. I did spend $200.00 dollars and was still charged $48.00 for the four of us. So a little disappointed. We will not return, but will buy their lovely wine.

WOW! What a great place to go. Both times we've visited the food has been great, the atmosphere perfect and the weather even better. I would like to thank the staff and owners for being so awesome. Also a big shout out to the wines themselves.
I dislike sweet wines and every wine from here has been perfectly balanced but leaning towards dry. The foch from 2017 truly has notes of wildfire smoke in it.

Set in changing locales on an 80-acre farm, this summer theater produces classic & original plays.
I can’t wait to go here again. We took all our staff here for a Christmas outing a few years prior to Covid; the memories are still vivid. The horses are beautiful, the sleigh rides keep you warm, the snow is falling, they have talented actors and pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Magical place for sure. If you have the opportunity don’t pass this up.

We were at the Caravan Farm Theatre for their showing on the night of Dec 26 2021. The temperature was around -20C. The actors were great about doing the show in that weather. The show itself was different due to no sleds being used during the show itself. We did get sleigh rides after the show, presumably to ensure the horses weren't standing out in the cold. Great work all around, but I think I would have been fine had the show been cancelled.

Their Halloween walk was Spooktacular!
This was a brilliant theatrical event with Live actors in costume and character. The barn dance was great fun.
It was freezing cold so they had lovely fire pits to gather around. There were a couple food trucks with the BEST chicken and waffles IN THE WORLD.
The only downside was the huge, slow moving lines for hot pear toddies. The guy in front of me got the last one! And it was painfully cold and a long wait.
But I really appreciate the effort this group went to to give all of us a great Halloween night fright. We all had a wonderful time!

Words can't describe what an amazing performance and production of The Nutcracker this was!! The acting, singing, sets and setting were all just unbelievable and so high level. Flawless. We had no idea what to expect, and ignorantly wondered if it was going to be a kind of community theatre production. Unbelievably creative production, with horses taking you around to multiple different outdoor sets to give you an engaging story. My partner & I did the “Into The Wild” dog sledding tour with our guide Justin, who was very friendly & knowledgeable about the dogs and the local Sun Peaks area.
We got to meet all the dogs, learnt a bit about their breed and history of sledding. The sledding tour was magical, all rugged up and running through the trees and down hills with 8 very happy dogs. The dogs are very well looked after, friendly and cant wait to get out running. After the tour, we got to even give them a treat afterwards.
It was honestly one of the coolest experiences we have ever had the chance of doing.

Had such an amazing experience. We were a bit worried the kids (6 & 8yo) would get a bit cold or bored on the 90min run but I’m so glad we did it.
Cold wasn’t an issue. They put a big heavy blanket over you and then the canvas so it’s really not cold at all. My daughter didn’t even want her snow hoodie up.
There was no way anyone was getting bored no matter how long it was.
Highly recommend bringing sunglasses as the dogs can kick up loose snow when they break into a run.
Our guides Trent and Riley were fantastic. Told us when the best spots for photos were coming up you you’re not holding your phone out for 90min straight. They’re great with the kids. Clearly loved what they did and those dogs are so well looked after.
The dogs can’t wait to go for a run. They don’t let them run hard enough to get too tired, stopping and resting after every rise. We spent a good 30min at the end with the kids just playing with all the dogs.

Sometimes I don’t want to review a place because I want it to stay a hidden gem and not overrun, which is Sun Peaks area but my gosh dog sledding with Mountain Man is one of the top life experience I was fortunate to have. Kate was amazing and knowledgeable, Chris was so helpful with ideas on what to do in the area. And the dogs. If you must have a reason, go for the dogs. They love dog sledding, they are so well taken care of and well socialized. The best part of already a “best of the best” tour was the “obligatory” say hi to all the dogs. Yes the 15+ dogs in addition to your sled dogs. How can you not, when they stare at you & Jedi mind trick you to go to them and give them lots of love. Please don’t miss this step. Thanks for an amazing experience
Beautiful spot, SO MANY BIRDS! I think we counted over 15 herons😮 water was low for this time of year and the wildlife was loving it. Nice short walk, cool to see the water levels from years past. I can imagine this place would get busy in certain parts of the year.

This Canadian beauty is a bit off the highway but very well worth the detour from your trans Canadian drive through the national Park. I'm told in the summer the water is full all the way closer to the main area but even now it's a lot beautiful (fall) with green grass and flowers. Take a walk through the wood bridge towards the jettison and also the park close to the parking area. Bring friends and family or a date. Enjoy the flowers and a sandwich.

Such a beautiful place for walk see lots of fish, birds and ducks so refreshing sitting that place🥰🥰 i loved it

This place is free. Therefore I can't really give this a bad review based on that. Plus, I have seen some pretty cool wildlife on this walk so this is a 5 star. Seeing the Osprey catch fish out of the water was a real treat especially if you are a bird watcher or photographer. You will find turtles and fish along with an assortment of birds. Great scenery is included in this package so you may as well give it a try while you are in the area!

The first curved wharf I've seen and it's quite dramatic to see how much the water levels change from year to year.

It’s a nice walk on a long wharf that is high above the lake. There is lots of room on this wharf and even on a busy day there is lots of space. There is a cafe at the end of the wharf and washroom facilities also. This wharf is part of a nice lake front park area. There are tables at the end of the wharf to sit on.

My home overlooks the foreshore, and the Salmon Arm Wharf. It is Salmon Arm's most visited attraction. People visit to see the abundant bird life and maybe get an ice cream cone.

We went early morning while it was raining a bit. We were the only two people and with the grey skies, the views were great. Peaceful and serene. Worth a stop

It is a really beautiful place to go. The water is really low this year. The picture with all the green, that is usually under water, and the boat dock is empty this year because it is just to shallow. It's the first time l have seen the water this low.

Good place to sit down and enjoy the view. Very peaceful place and looks awesome for fishing (i don't fish but i see lots of people fishing in the wharf). Water events available in the area such as boating.

Aka salmon arm marine park. What a beautiful spot for a break. Large well maintained area with trails, bird watching, sheltered boat launch with truck and trailer parking, long wharf with boat rentals and snack shop at the end. I would say this is a must stop on ant trip to salmon arm.

This awesome Pierre offers great views. During our visit, we were delighted to witness hundreds of mallard ducks enjoying a meal on the small patch of exposed grass nearby. It's just a 5-minute walk to reach the end, and it's absolutely worth it.

This is very beautiful place to enjoy the great views of the Shuswap Lake. One can go for the boating experiences here as the lake is huge. At some point you feel scared when you are boating in the lake but it was fun.

Let me start this off by saying myself and family have been here multiple times. And we've usually had great experiences. HOWEVER:
I unfortunately had to have my grandma picked up by an ambulance this morning, due to Covid, Kidney problems and diabetes. She couldn't walk. 6 hours later they sent her home without warning. And when I spoke to her, she said she was not given any water, and when she had to use the restroom the nurse asked her "What do you want? Now is not a good time you will have to wait." She was not even given an IV, or anything other than blood sugar. she was Ignored, not given any concern. She is an 80 year old woman with multiple SERIOUS issues Including being positive for Covid. Do BETTER staff. I sent her to you because she was sick enough that I couldn't do anything for her. After this, I could have taken care of her 10x better and I am not even close to medically trained. This is completely unacceptable, and if I had a choice I would not bring her or myself back to this hospital, but unfortunately it is our only option. DO BETTER.
Maddy Moore — Google review
Prefacing to say the paramedics were awesome, however I have had a horrible experience here with everyone else. Called an ambulance due to having extreme flu symptoms and couldn’t stop vomiting. After many hours without being checked on in the hospital, I was approached by a doctor who told me it would pass and to go home. I feel like I’m dying and nobody is taking this seriously

My wife just got home today from a major surgery in salmon arm. I felt I needed to do this report as the whole process was perfect. From coming to the entrance to the pre surgery department to surgery and then recovery room. Everyone and I do mean everyone through the whole process was fantastic. There are just too many people to list. We want to say a special thanks to Dr Janice Journeau for all her help and caring she gave my wife. It was top notch. Best we have ever seen. Also a special thank you to Crystal Baker and Tasha in the surgery recovery room. For their fantastic bed side manor and loving care my wife received. We have never seen such great treatment. Good to see there are still professionals that love their job. Also a big thanks to the nurse (I don’t have her name) that got my wife checked in and ready for surgery. Thank you all so much for helping us through this very stressful situation. I know there are a lot more people to thank but I just don’t have all their names. But they all know who they are.
Thank so much

I came in unable to swallow, and grumpy. However, the nurses in Emergency were overworked, but pleasant. After a "worth the wait"endoscopy, they found I had "Schatzki's ring", which is a kind of hernia around the esophagus. The great general surgery team opened my esophagus up, and I was able to go home - sore throat - but able to swallow again.
I want to thank the very patient Emergency nurses, and apologize for this somewhat grumpy old girl, who is very grateful for their overworked patience.

I have been in emergency and bon wards ard/or wards numerous times over many years and all of the staff have been excellent except two doctors. I was there recently and the place was absolutely full, crazy for staff, but all were pleasant and kind. Salmon Arm hospital has a good reputation o the region.

Took my girlfriend in there because she had troubles breathing and was experiencing chest pains.
One of the staff in admitting were very rude to her and prioritize people who came in after her. The four that came in even stated that they were just going to see there spouse or had an appointment and to service my girlfriend first.
Staff member scowled and said, "she's young she's not important." As everyone in the room could see she was very sick.
This isn't the kind of service I should be expecting with my tax dollars.
I'd say goto Vernon, but they just have the one Doctor who looks at you and just tells you that you're fine. Without doing any test and regardless of time of day.
Kamloops is understaffed, so you'll be waiting for hours. Not sure about Kelowna.

Excellent all-around experience twice now (a CT scan, and then a cyst drained with ultrasound guidance).
I’m sorry to say I can’t recall who did the CT scan (it was in Feb or March) but they, Crystal from ultrasound, and the radiologist (possibly Dr Gardner?) were all supremely comforting and a pleasure to deal with

My autistic daughter was promised an early surgery to accommodate her severe hypoglycaemia. They booked her for 3pm and ignored our many attempts to have her put on a glucose line to keep her from passing out. Nurses are dismissive and rude, telling us to cancel the necessary surgery she has waited years to receive if we don’t want to wait to be tended to. I’m absolutely enraged they would put someone through this when Royal Inland has always taken the condition seriously and never left me or a family member in the dark like this. Shameful care at Shuswap Lake.

Within the past 3 years alone, several of my family members, incl myself, have had to access services and be admitted to the ER and other departments at this local hospital. I can't say enough about the professionalism, patience, caring and compassion shown by all staff and medical personnel we have been in contact with. Life-threatening situations, on-going tests and end-of-life care have all been dealt with in the kindest and most competent and way one could hope for. Especially under the trying and difficult, if not extreme circumstances these people have to work under and not often truly appreciated. I am grateful for each and every one who works at this hospital and wish their service was better compensated and acknowledged by us all. The future might not be as rosy as it once was, so we should be grateful for what we have now. Thank you to all.

The ER staff left me in the dark while I was there. I did not feel safe, nor felt like I was taken seriously. More than 6hrs of violent vomiting, before a wonderful nurse came to my rescue.

A 5 star review specifically for Sprigs of Heather restaurant. We planned an anniversary lunch for my parents, food and drink were great (everything is local), staff was great and the outdoor patio is amazing surrounded by a beautiful garden. Thank you for making it a special event for our parents :)

Interesting place to visit! Had a fun time walking around with my teen and toddler exploring the early Salmon arm days. The playground was a real hit and the garden was absolutely gorgeous to sit and relax by.
The cafe also had some dairy free options which I appreciated and some of the buildings even had AC

This is a fantastic locale for anyone with an interest in history. There are several replica buildings from the early 20th century which on their own are interesting, but there are also several incredible Indigenous artefacts on loan from local Nations that on their own are worth the visit.
The food was simple and unpretentious and exactly what I was hoping for (try the Shepherd's pie!). There's nothing fancy here, but there's no need either, as what's served is excellent.
A great, family friendly site with plenty to offer everyone.

The R.J. Haney Heritage Village is a great gem of a spot in Salmon Arm. The buildings are either carefully restored or new replicas of historic buildings from the early days of the town’s existence. The Sprig of Heather restaurant is a nice place to eat and has a lovely terrace surrounded by lovingly tended gardens. We very much enjoyed the dinner theatre, and we’re delighted to discover that the actors were also our servers at dinner! It was a lovely evening. We’re going back for a tour of the town and to attend the Harvest festival in mid-September. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed!

What a terrific find! This gem of a golf course was in great shape, course is well laid out and was a terrific introduction to golf for a beginner while still challenging a lower handicapper. Tons of parking for a couple truck/trailers. Will definitely repeat.

AMAZING COURSE!! Absolutely loved this place. Super accommodating staff. Allowed us to walk on 1.5 hours before our original tee time. Course is extremely well kept especially for the time of year. Would 100% recommend this course to anyone passing through Barriere.

(I only golfed here)
The golf course is in amazing shape. The greens are perfect and decently challenging. Fairways are defined and have stones at 100y, 150y, 200y. 1st cut is well groomed as well.
Each hole has a different scenic view that will make you want to take a picture.
The par 5s are reachable in 2 for anyone who hits decently long. With a couple drivable par 4s.
Definitely grab a cart, walking this course would be a workout.
The proshop offers a couple basic things which was expected for a rural golf and RV park. The food was great. We had the BLT with fries. And would definitely order again.

Brian Kjenner — Google review
Great course, bad price point. The course is scenic and unique far better then most, however the new owners have jacked up the price considerably to the point where you can play higher end full 18 hole courses such as kamloops golf and country club for the same price. Which makes it hard for anybody from kamloops to justify spending far more on gas to play a 9 hole course. (Note i grew up in barrier, have played this course over 200 times and i still cant justify the drive and price point for a 9 hole course)

What a nice playing course Chinook Cove is in Barriere! Played there today and really enjoyed the challenge level and scenic beauty and is def. one of the top 8 nine hole courses in the entire Okanagan/Kamloops area! Located just 50 mins north of Kamloops and is so worth that drive out to try! For early May too the greens were in tip top shape already! 4.5 out of 5! A definite put on your golf bucket list to play at least once come May to say late Sept! Oh and I made this incredible shot there today!

This was my first ever rafting experience, and it was such a blast! Water levels were fairly low when we went, but it didn't take any thrill out of the experience. Our entire group was smiling ear to ear the whole time. The crew was friendly and made our time really enjoyable. Would highly suggest this rafting company to anyone!! Don't miss out on a lifetime of memories made on Adam's River

I had a massive group of 27 people, so I called a month ahead to plan the trip. They were totally okay with that many people, but as we approached the day, my groupwas dwindling down, and we had 14 people in the end. I communicated this with the people at Adams River Rafting, and thanks to the generosity of the River Rafting crew, they accepted the 14 people without charging us for the 13 missing people. I stick my tongue out to my friends who weren't interested in because everyone that went ended up having so much fun!

In August our group of eight ventured onto the Adams River with our wonderful guide Jason. He was funny, very knowledgeable of the area and told us historical facts as we rafted down the river. We had a fantastic time and most of took advantage of the cliff jumping opportunity. We all started off dry, but that didn’t last long. Wells Gray was on my bucket list. We drove 3 hours and I was so excited. We stopped at the information building to pick up a brochure and map (you definitely need this). Our first stop was Spahats Falls, the closest Falls. We parked and had to change our of our shorts and sandals into warmer clothes. By the time we finished changing it started to pour rain. We tried waiting it out but it didn't let up for hours. So we went back home. Grrrrr. We were unable to get a hotel for a decent price due to the Terry Fox run that was happening. So we will go back as soon as we get the chance.

The horseback ride lasted an hour and took us across meadows, through forests and along the river.

We had an amazing morning at the vavenby trail rides. Myself and my partner had never been on a horse before and thought we would give it a try. We was greeted by Sarah and Antonia from Germany with smiles and a warm welcome, the horses were already out and ready to go. So we kitted up and after a few simple instructions off we went. The horses were so easy to control and so well behaved, any worries I had soon went. The trails around the ranch were breath taking and after a long ride we ended up by the river for food and a chat. With there dog by our side the whole ride it was an amazing experience. One which I would gladly do again.
Many thanks ed and Sarah for allowing us to have this time on your ranch.

Spahats Creek Falls, located in Wells Gray Provincial Park, is an impressive 246-ft. waterfall situated in a large rock canyon. The park boasts other spectacular waterfalls such as Maul Falls and Helmcken Falls, with Mount Robson Provincial Park being the last stop before heading to Jasper. Visitors can easily access Spahat and Maul Falls through short walks and may even spot bears on these trails or at the roadside.
These falls are one of biggest and the closest to highway which explains the largest parking lot and the most people. However there are lots of angles to see that falls from and seeing what water has done to the canyon is amazing.

Beautiful spot. It's possible to hike down to the base of the falls if you're feeling adventurous. Requires proper hiking shoes/boots. Walking sticks and spikes not necessary, but would be very helpful, as the trail is pretty steep grade on loose dirt.
Approximately 200m beyond the viewing platform, there is a clearing on your left, which leads to an unofficial, but easy to follow trail. Not for the faint of heart.
Estimated 2 km round-trip to the base of the falls, with an elevation change of about 300m or so. Took about 1.5 hours of hiking time round-trip.
Otherwise, an easy few minute walk from the parking lot to the viewpoint. Washrooms and food stand at trailhead.

We arrived in Clearwater in the late afternoon, so decided to drive the 10k up to see Spahats Creek Falls before dinner. It's an easy 2.7 km hike in and back to see this 75m high waterfall and the canyon gorge is gorgeous. :-) Had we hung around for another hour or so, the sun would have been shining on the falls, making for better pictures!

Another great waterfall in BC. Would love to see it after a bit of rainfall so there's a bigger flow coming through. There's a great viewpoint decking across from it and it's only a five minute walk from the car park.

Beautiful waterfall and surrounding scenery. A five min moderate walk from the parking lot to the viewing platform. We visited in the winter month when the entire fall was frozen over but that made for a whole new experience to view the waterfall and damn was it cold with the wind at that height.
Definately worth visiting in the summer and the winter to get a total different prospect of this waterfall.

Helmcken Falls is an impressive waterfall situated in Wells Gray Provincial Park, Canada. It stands at a height of 141 meters, making it the fourth tallest waterfall in the country. The park has a total of 41 waterfalls, and Helmcken Falls is undoubtedly one of the most popular attractions for tourists. Visitors can easily view the majestic waterfall from a well-maintained parking lot and viewing platform nearby that overlooks the canyon below.

It was amazing in winter. The last 10 km road was fully covered with snow. (We travelled on Feb 29) So it’s good to go on snow tires. The view is a short walk from the parking lot.

Well worth the drive up to see these, and such a short walk from the parking lot. It takes little to no effort to get to these falls and be completely blown away by these fall. You can see the mist from the falls be pushed back up higher than the falls themselves. The sight and sounds are awesome and stunning

🌟🌲 A Natural Marvel Worth Witnessing! 🌲🌟
Helmcken Falls in BC is an absolute gem that has left me awestruck! This majestic waterfall, nestled within the breathtaking Wells Gray Provincial Park, is a true masterpiece of nature's beauty. Standing before the thundering cascade, I was humbled by the sheer force and elegance of the water plummeting down the rugged cliffs.
The trail leading to Helmcken Falls offers an invigorating journey through lush forests and captivating vistas. The anticipation builds with each step, and the payoff is beyond imagination. As you approach the viewing platform, the mist caresses your skin, and the sound of crashing water echoes through the canyon — a sensory symphony that's impossible to forget.
Whether you're an avid nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a moment of serenity, Helmcken Falls will not disappoint. The pristine wilderness surrounding the falls adds to its allure, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike.
Prepare to be transported to a realm where the power of nature takes center stage, leaving you in awe of the Earth's wonders. Helmcken Falls has etched itself into my heart, and I can't wait to return to this awe-inspiring masterpiece of nature's creation.

This waterfall is truly magnificent and is worth the trip to Wells Gray if you’re from the Lower Mainland! There’s a viewpoint 2 minutes away from the parking lot at the end of Helmcken Road. Come with bug spray and you’re set for the day 😊

It is so beautiful. You can drive all the way up to the falls and it’s barely a 2 minute walk to the viewpoint.

Thunderous falls! Simply breathtaking. 45 minute commute from clear water. Certainly the biggest and the baddest out of the 20 falls. Parking lot 2 minutes away from viewing platform. Information plaques provided.

This waterfall is huge! Pictures don't do it justice. The spray from the water has eroded the rock, carving a giant bowl-like shape behind the falls. You have to come listen to the sound and see its beauty for yourself :) this is probably the shortest walk to view a waterfall in the whole park.
Tay Canuel — Google review
This is undoubtedly the coolest waterfall I have ever seen! It's as if it came straight out of a fantasy movie, with a setting that makes you imagine a dragon living nearby or in the dark carved-out part of the fall. The fall is ten times better than what you see in the pictures.
However, please note that finding it might be a bit challenging since there is no service (data) detectable in the area, and our Google Maps was not working. I highly recommend planning ahead for navigation before heading here!

Amazing. We visit these amazing falls at least once a year. The hike in from the south side is quite nice and absolutely worth it. The unrestricted view of the falls is breathtaking. If you are able to hike in, I highly recommend it. Take your time as the path can be uneven in parts ... there are tree roots and rocks that can trip you up but aside from one or two small hills the hike is mostly flat.

I can say that the guy who give us advices (sorry I don't remember of his name after this long time‚ I Can just say that he has a white beard) was by far the best we had. He gave us advices about animals‚ hikes to do (he was right‚ Kenney lake was probably the best hike without a lot of tourists we've done during this road trip) and others useful advices.
Forgive my bad english‚ but thanks a lot for all advices‚ and you should go here (if you plan to go to Jasper‚ you'll probably have better advices hère than in Jasper).

Absolutely loved our time on the river!
We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) and we decided on the river float, as the kids were a little nervous about rafting on white water. 10 mins in and they all wanted more!
We saw beavers and an eagle and received lots of information whilst floating down the river.
It was one of the highlights of our trip and would recommend for anyone interested in spending time on the river. You are in good hands with Justin and team 😎

These guys ROCK !!!!!!! Best trip ever for a white water adventure …. Justin and the crew were amazing looking after everything from safety on the river, equipment, photography and gear. Justin instilled confidence in all of us and that made the trip extra enjoyable. The entire team got involved and we all felt so special! I highly recommend Stellar Descents for your river experience. The family rated them 10 out of 10 in all categories …. Well done Stellar Crew !!!!!

We had a great experience with Stellar Descents, rafting down the river with stunning views of Mount Robson. It was just my partner, his dad, and myself. Our guide, Justin, was excellent, knowledgeable, and focused on making our trip enjoyable and safe. One of my favourite parts was taking a dip in the water towards the end. I'd highly recommend Stellar Descents!

Jimmy, Liam and Justin are awesome! 😀 We did some Class III rapids and had a ton of fun. 🚣♂️
Everyone was super professional and friendly. Justin went ahead of our raft on his own kayak, 🛶 ready to help out any accidental overboard stragglers. That said, nobody fell out in the end. Myself and everyone felt perfectly safe and in good hands. Our on-board guide Jimmy was very knowledgeable of the area, too.
Oh and they provide wetsuits when it's too cold. I was also pleased by the number of great photos Liam managed to shoot. They're sold separately but you get your money's worth; they're good and plentiful. 👌
Highly recommend. 👍

I 100% recommend Stellar Descents Whitewater Rafting if you are in the Valemount/Jasper area. Justin and his professional team made this so much fun you will not get this treatment anywhere else. My partner and I went rafting on the Fraser River with Stellar on their opening day this summer. We had an awesome time and highly recommend. While rafting we got to watch helicopters fight a forest fire on a mountain above us. It's a great feeling being on a river and experiencing the power of nature up close. I also thought it was cool how they portage past Rearguard Falls. The guides are excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. Go raft with Stellar Descents and you'll have a great time.

Wow such an amazing experience! Ben was the best guide we could have asked for! He was very friendly and knew a lot about the local culture. We were lucky enough to just be us two and him on a twilight tour. We saw a bald eagle which was cool but just floating and enjoying the conversation made the trip super great!! Jim helped us get back and forth on the bus and was also excellent. I would bring kids and would say it’s family friendly. I live a few thousand miles away so not sure If I’ll be back but I would definitely love too. The trip was over and we just wanted to keep talking to Ben he was great!! 10/10 for Ben and Stellar Descents!!

Unfortunately they only have 1 washroom which is in the souvenir store. Went to the Information building but there's none or rather closed? Not really sure but yeah! I waited for over 10 minutes just to use the washroom.
Other than that! It's a good place to walk around for a bit. Especially behind the Building where you can view the Mountain from the deck.

The first floor of this place is a gift store and information center. You will find useful booklets about tourist attractions and nature of BC, although I found some of them looks not updated.
The lower floor is a small museum full of information for kids and adults. A grizzly skink and head, a chart of tree's life, park Rangers uniforms,... We spent half an hour there.

I have traveled to many visitors centers in Canada and I must say this one lacks many things that a visitor to this area would need. I wanted a paper copy of a trail map, and none were available, although many from other areas in BC were available. I wanted information on hikes, and the staff were more concerned about selling souvenirs. It was very disappointing to see on this huge tourist route. The map I had to drive to the actual hike should be available at the visitors center, along with distances for the hikes at Mount Robson. This is usually standard information at provincial Park visitors centre's. Time to improve your services.

Wowa weewah! Very cool visitor centre - there's a massive deck in the back that directly faces mount robson. It's also one of the few places you can get Wi-Fi along this highway, although there is the Terry Fox rest stop that has Wi-Fi about 5 minutes away.
Otherwise there's tons of parking if you have a trailer or motorhome. if it's a great day and you can get a good view of the mountain make sure that you stop by and soak it in!

One of the best visitor center I have been to. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bathroom is very nice. There is a water fountain there you can fill your water bottles. Reduce plastic waste.
There is a balcony area with a fantastic view to the meadow. And at the balcony you can also connect to wifi and charge your devices. This year unfortunately Berg Lake trail is closed. All the pamphlets are about other BC tourists places. I will definitely come back when Berg Lake trails is reopened.

We passed the Moose Lake in the province of British Columbia while doing a VIA Rail trip from Vancouver to Jasper National Park in Alberta, in July 2019. This park is a vast protected area with hiking, camping, fishing, and more. The mountain is famous for being the highest and most prominent in the Canadian Rockies. It's also home to a provincial park with 536 acres of pristine wilderness.

It's one of the most beautiful part of the yellow head highway drive towards BC. There are a few shops for travellers and tourist to patronize. Also several areas for photo lovers.
Ensure your vehicle is in good shape as help may not come as quickly as you desire if needed.
Cellular network signals are very poor around these area due to the mountains.
Ensure your vehicle has enough gas to avoid disappointment. Not many gas stations are available around the mountain.

Mount Robson Provincial Park is nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains & it one of British Columbia’s gems. Like other Mountain Parks, including Jasper, Banff & Radium Hot Springs, there are rivers, forests & canyons to explore. You can canoe, hike, kayak, & standup paddle board in the warmer months.
The Rocky Mountains boast mammoth lakes that resemble the inland seas that French novelist Jules Verne (1828-1905) wrote about in Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Please be careful when on the water, especially if you are a novice in watercraft travel. The weather can change quickly, & gentle waves could turn into white horses bouncing you.
You might find Yellowhead Lake safer than Moose. One resident who had not seen the ocean until adulthood said Moose Lake was a sea swept by the forces of nature. Consider bringing supplies such as bear spray, a bucket, extra dry clothing & a life jacket, a waterproof phone, a wet bag & a whistle etc. The bucket can help to bail out water.
Is your seating comfortable? Do you need to upgrade it with portable seating designed for watercraft. Time on a vessel can be tough when you sit for long periods so your seating is important.
Please stay close to the shore, especially if this type of travel is unfamiliar to you. Crossing from one side to the lake to the other can be a hazardous route, so it’s crucial to consistently check the weather conditions. Additionally, informing others of your anticipated arrival and return times is highly recommended.

I come here every summer when I can. One of the most amazing trails on Earth. If you only have a couple of hours, a trip to Kinney Lake is well worth it. If you have a couple of days, the trip to Berg Lake (and Snowbird Pass) are breathtaking. Must book a loooooooooooong time in advance.

Honestly the berg lake trail is one of the nicest hikes I've done. We went up to emperor falls and back (32km+) in one day, and although it was totally worth it it was quite heave on the knees. I recommend everyone to do the hike, as I can only imagine what Berg lake itself will look like, but make sure you got a few days time so you can appreciate it in all it's glory without having to walk around with a knee brace for a week after 😉

I like the park a lot. The sites are nice and quiet and private. There are two showers in Robson meadows campground for women and a family shower there too. And the flushing toilet is good. The visitor center is very nice. I also went to the cafe every morning for coffee. They have a lot of tasty treats and lunch items and snacks, drink and ice cream and wine. everything looked nice and cute in the cafe and staff were very nice. The Berg Lake trail and a few other trails are all closed. Left only the fraser river nature walk and the outlander falls and a trail from visitor center to the top of a hill. Maybe there are a couple other ones I didn't go. But the trail from visitor center was really nice. Here are a few pictures from the summit.

One of my favorite provincial parks in all of Canada. Sadly the best trail in the park, the Berg Lake Trail, is closed until probably 2025 due to significant damage from flooding and landslides. There are 7 campgrounds along this trail for backcountry camping in many different environments. Reservations are required for all of them. Hopefully some improvements will be made as they make the needed repairs although compare to back country sites in the US, these are already far superior. Many have cooking shelters established and pit toilets.
