Quiet campground with great trails, well maintained sites and facilities. No RV water tank fill on site but showers are clean and free, hard toilets and vault toilets readily available. Really enjoyed my time here.

Spacious campsites, clean showers and bathrooms, overall a really nice and well maintained campground.

We recently travelled to Yellowknife, and the Northwest Territories and one of our stops along the way, was Louise Falls Campground in the Twin Falls Gorge Territorial Park. It is the nicest campground we had the pleasure to stay in during our 8 day driving vacation. The caretaker was very friendly and helpful! The sites are private, clean, and well maintained! The showers and toilets are super clean! The whole campground is well treed, has 15 amp service, with a network of trails, and a playground for the children. The spectacular Louise Falls, and Alexandra Falls are nearby, within easy walking distance. There is potable water available, and a dumping site for RV'ers. I highly recommend this campground!

Well worth spending a weekend here. Great facilities and well taken care of. Spacious campsites for large RVs, a fire pit, power, and a wooden platform to pitch a tent if desired.
They have showers, washers and dryers and potable water in the main washroom facilities.

Absolutely amazing! Go down to the falls, it's so worth the very short hike! If you're brave enough to scale a cliff to get to the bottom, you can walk behind the waterfall and it's un-freaking-believable. Loved it!
Great place for collectables, books, and super awesome fun things. Great prices and it support the creative education of our local youth.

Surprisingly nice, definitely worth checking out if your stopping.
An excellent area to see a panoramic view of the town of Peace River from a high vantage point. I can imagine this site would be an incredibly beautiful place during a warm summer night with clear skies and gentle breeze. I can't imagine a much more scenic place to be laid to rest than the Twelve Foot Davis Gravesite.
Kenneth Andres — Google review
A beautiful look-out, with cool historical significance. It appeared that there were a couple of informational placards that were missing, which was disappointing, but the ones that were there were quite interesting. I appreciated the benches on which to sit and take in the view. There are also several picnic tables available for lunching. Unfortunately the direct road was closed odd, presumably for maintenance, so we had to drive the long way around. It's a very worthy excursion for any visiting tourists or history buffs.

Great view of the town and junction of the Peace River and Smoky River
Paul Pereira — Google review
A very pleasant surprise. A tiny bit off the main road but well worth the time and effort. The confluence of the Smokey and Peace rivers make for beatiful backdrop for photos. 12 foot Davis story is great and i see why he wanted to be burried there. The day i went the weather was phenomenal and early fall. I would love to see the view at every season. I will return if i am ever in the area again.

Peace River Museum Archives and Mackenzie Centre
Museum
Archive
The Peace River Museum Archives and Mackenzie Centre is a delightful small museum that offers admission based on donations. It houses a charming gift shop filled with numerous locally crafted products. Indoors, there are three spacious rooms that showcase the historical journey of the Peace Country from its earliest explorers to modern times. The museum also features notable outdoor attractions, including remnants of the paddle-wheel from the S.S. D.A. Thomas. Furthermore, it provides an engaging glimpse into the area's fur trade history.
Great little museum. Admission is by donation. There is a nice gift shop with many locally created items, 3 large rooms indoors with history stemming from the first explorers and settlers of the Peace Country, right up to today. There are some larger items outside as well such as what's left of the paddle-wheel from the S.S. D.A. Thomas.

Peace River Museum is simply superb! A very interesting and sensibly organised curation of local history starting with the First Nations. Although not a large building the displays are varied. The inclusion of displays that visitors may handle is an excellent idea as well.

Great location to camp, very quiet and relaxing. Beautiful lake, AMAZING for fishing, like impressive. It's a hidden gem for lake fishing in Northern AB. I will be coming back. Pike, whitefish, walleye all out there. Caught 3 pike in 2 days. Decent turn out. Dam/dock can be pretty busy and weed filled for fishing, went about 500m out from shore and got bites every cast.
Riley Ingram — Google review
We went to check the place out and have a picnic. There are a ton of washrooms everywhere. They are wooden buildings that house outhouses. They seem well maintained.
I wouldn't try to swim in the lake. At least not from shore. Too much grass and algae. But there is an area with a bunch of sand. Volleyball net as well.
Some walking trails. We couldn't go very far though, all the rain recently has flooded some of the trails.
While exploring we could see some of the camping spot. They look nice, might try that sometime.
It has a playground, my daughter freaked out from all the spiders. But the playground is quite nice.
We are excited to explore this park more.
I really like you bee I think it mite be larger then tisdale sask bee

A beautiful place to go kayaking or paddling and fishing. Has a clean and quite camping spots. Most of the washrooms are available (compost type) and they do have a shower, amphitheatre and kids playground. I saw that they also have new rental place for paddle boards and kayak.

Absolutely beautiful park. We stayed for two nights over the Labour Day long weekend and had a wonderful time!
The Pros:
- most sites are large enough for two vehicles and two 6 person tents;
- many sites are beautiful and private;
- very clean, including the sites themselves, the trails, outhouses, flush toilets, and showers;
- lots of beautiful walking/hiking trails that are kid friendly;
- the lake is clean, large, and beautiful;
- the seawall is unique and offers a great fishing experience;
- great little convenience store with some camping essentials;
- multiple boar launches;
- 15 minute drive to/from Whitecourt;
- 5 minutes from crown land.
The Meh:
- firewood is $10/bundle. We went through 3 bundles per night;
- some sites were very public and had little privacy;
- some sites had a lot of water in the low areas (after a rain);
- the playgrounds are a bit small and there were no swings;
- very small beach so not much space for the kiddos to run around
None of the "meh" points were deal breakers for us, and didn't feel like inconveniences. Just some general observations (hence they aren't cons).
We would 10/10 go there again!!

Camped over long weekend. Just want to say thank you to all the staff for maintaining the sites and to the workers in the booth. Everyone was extremely friendly and approachable. Really loved the layout of the campsite there were lots of private treed areas. Although the weather was not as cooperative everything turned out wonderful. Lots of animals the kids had fun with hikes and finding many species of birds. Will definitely come again! Porta potty was also cleaned regularly which is great!

Great fishing either from a boat or the sea wall. Campsites are nice and the trails are great. The view from the end of the peninsula is spectacular. This is not a lake for power sports but fishing, paddle boarding, canoing, kayak and just relaxing it is. The showers are hit and miss, but nice to have
Brian Hennig — Google review
I love this park. Well maintained. Clean bathroom near store and decent outhouses. Camping is expensive. $43 per night plus $12 reservation fee. One trail along campsite which extends into a boring and often swampy loop for a decent hike. That's my only negative really, the disappointing hike. The part along the river to the fishing boardwalk is nice. The boardwalk is the jewel of the park. Fishing from boardwalk is very good. Almost every campsite is reasonably private though some are clearly intended to be doubles (not private if not together). The lake has a decent sized playground and a small beach. So very loud by the beach side of campground all day. Very nice tenting sites.

Best treed-in camping experience near Edmonton. I'm from British Columbia originally and moved to Edmonton 5 years ago. This place was hands down the best camping option near Edmonton. It reminded me of camping in the Thompson Okanagan and Whistler. Fantastic experience, the trails are beautiful, nature is gorgeous, not too many bugs, all around excellent location with a little store open late on site, showers, running toilets and fresh water, firewood on site.
My site was water facing and even had a little trail that went straight to the waterfront trail. Absolutely worth every penny.

Although it is about a couple of hours from Edmonton, it is well worth the travel. The Park itself is very big, there is a kids playground with mulch as the ground, there is a bouncy pillow, a water playground, and the waterslide where people mostly come for. There is also a walking path that's well maintained. You can also fish in the pond or lake. People bring their inflatable tubes and there is a courtesy air pump beside the ice cream shack so you don't necessarily have to bring your own pump. It's very strong though so you will have to make sure you do not overfill the inflatable otherwise it will burst. I have seen several of them burst because they thought it's not that strong. The washrooms are also well maintained.
Overall, it's a beautiful park worth travelling to. Then you can camp at Carson Pegasus about 20 minutes away. Which you can also go fishing at.

Very huge parking, Good play ground for the kids. Convenient ice cream shop and they providing a free air inflator that save your lots of time.

Such a fun place to take kids of all ages! They had a tubing area with restrooms nearby. There was a large playground and spray park. And as a bonus, they had a big, raised, in-ground bouncy thing. It's a great place to spend the entire day!
Pam Suelzle — Google review
Always a great place to bring the kids or grandkids. Sometimes the adults get carried away and forget that there are little ones that are playing in the water slides but other than that, the rolled ice cream is good if not a little over priced. Lots of dry playground activities to hit up with the kids.
Bill Millward — Google review
Once a year we pack up the kids and drive the 90 mind from Edmonton just to visit this park.
The park is fantastic it’s comprised of a spray park for kids, a huge dry park, a bring your own tube tube ride and a pond for swimming and paddle boarding.
Large fields provide lots of space for anything else you might care to do and walking trails that are paved for the more leisurely inclined.

Nice place to hang out with your family and have a picnic on the area. A very family friendly park. You can walk around the place to relax. Lots of parking space. Amazing place. Kids love it, as to the wife and I. Food at the concession is decently priced.
River slides are a lot of fun, but quite slippery for first timers to get used to so be very careful walking on them.
They do have 2 air compressors that you can fill your tubes with, but I suggest bringing your own, since there can be quite a long lineup.
Course was in great shape, lots of fun to play. Will be back!!
Do wish the pro shop would have been more helpful, was our groups first time, by the time we found out where the range was and that balls were from the pro shop, was almost our start time. Not sure why when checking in this was not brought to our attention.

Trestle Creek is always worth the drive. The course is in good condition with the exception of a few rough spots on some of the greens and fairways. The course is not very old and is still maturing but very playable. The speed of the greens was quick but sticky, you had to give it an aggressive stroke as the ball came to a quick halt if you did not hit it firm enough. But be careful, too hard and they would run by quite a bit. Kudos goes out to the pro shop staff. We had a 9 a.m. tee-time but had flat tyre on the way out to the course. They were very accommodating and were able to get us out when we finally arrived 3 hours late. It was greatly appreciated and made a frustrating morning in to a pleasurable afternoon.
Jamie Stahl — Google review
Most may not know this but they have stay and play packages available on lots that have not sold yet. We went for a week and had a great time. The water park was unreal, golf was spectacular and the restaurant was great. You should check it out, your kids would love it. Only downside was wifi was terrible.
It's about the journey — Google review
It is a nice golf course, but because it is also a resort many of the golfers have places at the resort. Because of this , it seems that they don’t think any rules should apply to them. It is a very slow golf course to play. People who cannot hit the ball 100 yards off the tee, play from the blues when they shouldn’t be. Also, when there is a group waiting on the tee behind you, is is not proper golf etiquette to play ready golf. Some of the people think they own the course and can take as long as they want. When we played the greens were aerated so there was a sign saying to play winter rules. The group in front of us, it was only a twosome, lined up every putt, and plumb bobbed like they were on the PGA tour. This is not the first time this has happened here. We used to golf there quite frequently, but got tired of the slow play and the lack of consideration by many of the golfers who live there. I am not a scratch golfer by any means, but do not think it should take 5 minutes for an amateur golfer to hit a shot. If a person was paying bargain prices you can expect this, but not when you are paying premium prices. There are other courses nearby that cost the same that do not allow this sort of behaviour. Other courses have Marshall’s who make an effort to speed up play. If it happens once, a person can accept it, but not every time you play the course. It is a better course than a 2 star rating, but not until they control the rate of play better.
Gary Mastervick — Google review
The golf course is amazing. Challenging and well taken care of. With at least a handful of holes that could be considered "signature" the built in GPS on the golf cart means you can leave the range finder in the bag.
There is a hitting net and putting green to warm up on. And the proshop has a nice little selection of apparel.
Will definitely be back with friends.

Pembina River Provincial Park is an ideal location for families to camp and enjoy a variety of activities. Situated just an hour west of Edmonton, it offers ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including floating down the river, hiking on nearby trails, and picnicking in designated areas. The river itself is safe for children to swim in and provides a sandy beach perfect for playing or relaxing. On busy weekends, there may be limited parking options available near the valley.
Love this campground! We come here every year. It’s close to Edmonton & the river is such a bonus. Majority of the sites private and nicely treed.
Kailey — Google review
It's a great place for camping, floating or just spending the day. There some trails, one short one that follows the river to the campsite area.
They have picnic tables and bbq pits, as well there is a sandy enough beach to play or relax on.
Staci Layne-Linton — Google review
We love pembina! It’s a great campground with lots of well trees sites. If you’re on the straight row near the park, all those sites back onto a long meadow with a playground. There are lots of great hikes and of course tubing down the river, when the weather is nice.
I believe the park is under new management, as the facilities used to be really clean and well kept. There are signs all over the park that the restrooms are cleaned twice daily, but we were camped right beside the restrooms and no one checked them during the 4 days we were there. They were pretty gross. The showers are free, but again, we’re not cleaned while we were there and the drains were backing up so you had no where to stand while showering. 🤢
It would be nice if this park offered programs like some of the other parks have started to do, again. With the close proximity to Edmonton, this is definitely a fantastic park to camp at!!
Megan Wilson — Google review
Have been enjoying this great campground and day use park for 25 years now , when the river is low it's great for tubing or just sitting on a rock enjoying the water , evansburg and entwistle just a couple minutes away if you need supplies, the grounds are clean and well maintained, I wish the camping season would extend into October it used to open year round as I did winter camping in a tent ... fantastic!!!! the shower house could use some updating or build another one, also dump station could be expanded, all in all a great campground!!
Kelly Roy — Google review
We stayed in the group camp area and it was beautiful! Cookhouses came in handy when it started to rain. Outhouses were wiped down daily and it was short walk to the river! Our water shoes definitely came in handy. Wish there were one or two power sites in the area though. Would have came in handy for the air mattress pump and for tubes.
Sheena Atamanchuk — Google review
Almost every single site has great privacy! Lots of nice walking/biking paths to enjoy and a beach day area right on the river if the weather permits.
And one of the best parts it's only an hour west of Edmonton!

Nice little campground close to town. I picked the upper half of "c" section and found the sites on the bank side very slanted. Nice family campground, people friendly but water was inaccessible (too fast/ high). Nice playground for kids. Sites very close together but overall a well maintained park (picture is one of the larger flat/serviced sites I would definitely consider if coming again
Belinda Veenstra — Google review
About an hour only from Edmonton, depending on which part of the city you are coming from. We used the group campground, there is a clean washroom nearby where you can also take a bath for $1 for 2 or 3 minutes I guess. Sadly when we went, the water was extremely hot it will burn your skin. Somebody came the next day to fix it, but we have not tried it since. So I cannot tell whether it is actually fixed.
The river is not that deep, so the kids would be fine wading in it or you can also go fishing in it. There are playgrounds too, and some good walking trails that even kids can do.
Overall it was a good experience, and because it is not very far from Edmonton, we would surely be back.
Si RogerNi — Google review
The park is an hour west of Edmonton on Highway 16. The town of Evansburg is a couple of km away for easy supply trips. There is a national campsite and a day use area for fun river activities like swimming, tubing, and finding cool rocks. There is fresh drinking water taps and a playground for young kids. Overall a great place. I've been back many times.

Grate campground to stay at love the river to play all day on, lots of people take there inflatables down it’s fun to take the kids. The sites are okay a lot are really open tho so hard if you have dogs.

Beautiful views. The river is warm and shallow at parts. Some sites are close together so make sure you google view it before :) clean washrooms!
The park staff are always working. You can tell as it is immaculate. Friendly, happy faces from the staff.
The fresh water tap takes FOREVER to fill a trailer. Ours is 22ft and took 20 minutes. And you have to hold down on the tap the entire time.

Love this place! The rain is coming in buckets!! 🪣or Cats & dogs 🐈🐕 Playing lots of games & visiting with our son's that we don't get to see that often. Did go in the water. It is very cold. Water raised a lot in 12 hours.

Good place to have a picnic if you don’t plan going tubing. Water was warm and river is not egressive. So, safe for children to swim and spend time in water. If you can avoid the busy weekends the is ample parking available right next to the valley.
Thushara Jay — Google review
Love this place! Wish the woodshed was staffed, we ran out of wood in the morning and had Noone to call until it was time to go and no hours posted. Other wise great place.
I have been a couple times and I can't wait to go again! They have an efficient service that's safe and family friendly (like any great service they deserve your tips). Do yourself a favour and rent your tubes with shuttle service! They have a tube for your cooler so you can stay hydrated and keep your non-alcoholic beverages cold. I highly recommend making a reservation during the height of summer. The walk from the parking lot entrance is roughly ten minutes and slightly steep towards the end. I recommend wearing water shoes during the float. Please be courteous and take your garbage and recycling with you when you go (the tubes rental conveniently has a mesh bag attached). Fun in the sun is sure to be had, enjoy, be safe and remember your sunblock.

Really sad how poor the management is, the place has a ton of potential! We reserved a shuttle for Saturday and showed up a bit earlier than our time. The lady at the front gate has zero customer service skills, she is horrendously rude. Snarled the rules and instructions on where/how to park, etc. We parked and went to go and rent our tubes, etc. The poor girl that worked at the waiver station looked and sounded like she was there against her will. The whole place gave off a super cult like vibe - I don't know how to explain it any better! A young guy recommended which tubes we should take, he was friendly and seemed happy to be there (the only one). The girl at the payment desk also seemed to be there against her will, super robotic. Witnessed staff shouting at other patrons about their tubes and the rules, just all around a super rude and unfriendly bunch of people. Even the shuttle driver was shouting at everyone like we were children. They are very very strict and have no problem yelling at you. The river was very low when we floated, was about 4.5 hours, but definitely something that other reviewers shouldn't be complaining about, the one thing that this company does well is give you an accurate report of the river conditions and time it will take to float. Was nice going in and knowing how long of a trip to expect. Overall, Pembina River Tubing has a Joe Exotic type vibe to it (not sure how I expected any different for this business being in Entwistle *sorry, not sorry*). Would love to give them a better rating but they need some serious customer service training and to chill out!!

Overall I enjoyed it.
They were short staffed and the lady was rushing here there & everywhere trying to keep up.
The bus was longer then usual because one broke down…
Will go back when the water is higher (not their fault)
It was a 4 hour float
Amanda B — Google review
Great company, excellently executed operations, never have to wait long for a shuttle and it's very affordable. And the most breathtaking views. 5 stars!! 💕 I'd give them 6 stars if I could just for the Shoe Wall of Shame alone! 😂

This place is excellent for a quick get away from the city
The staff were kind, I was hoping to get a personal experience from one of them but quite a few have never actually went down themselves.
There was 5 of us all connected and we had a blast get the extra floater for your snacks just remember ou have to hike it in especially with young ones might be longer than 20 min. We wore our tubes like Sombreros worked much easier. (Got some funny pics)
It's a 4 hour lazy float that picked up in areas 5 to 8 spots.
Pack a lunch do not pack loose items in pockets or nice footwear due to losing them in a dunk.lol. the day was hot and quiet and luckily we just missed the most crazy storm, thank goodness for the shuttle ride to our vehicle
I think this is something fun for everyone and should definitely be experienced
CB Bizo — Google review
We had a great time tubing down the river. It used to be easier to do two runs but it seems like they charge you for everything. The line ups are long and not well organized. But once you get on the river its all worth it. Tips: Wear water shoes, park a vehicle down at campground before you go to the tubbing place, take your own tubes it works out cheaper.
John Brown — Google review
Great escape from the city. Excellent organization, highly COVID aware. And then once you're on the water, you won't even think about COVID. We went on July 30 and water was pleasantly warm. Stopped at a couple beaches for a cooling dip. Lots of rapids (not scary) make it fun.
Connie Bryson — Google review
Lots of fun, try to arrive early especially on weekends. Later in the summer it is best to have a river tube, something of higher quality as the water level is lower and the rocks can puncture your raft/tube
Candice Reagan — Google review
We went there yesterday
It was awesome experience
Will go again
Staff was not rude
And we were given instructions about everything
It was easy to exit from the river too after the third bridge at the Pembina river day use area and shuttle bus was waiting for us to take us back .
We saw people bring their own tubes and I feel that’s a great idea if you plan to go for tube floating often .
I have visited here a few times. My grandsons love it!! By far the best waterpark we have been to. I like that it has a park beside it and an adult outdoor gym, as well as picnic tables and washrooms. It is a really great place to spend a hot summer day.

It's okay, the equipment is starting to fall apart and rust. The playground could use some updating. The spray park was good except there was a lot of algae growing around the train so it makes me question how well it is maintained.

Great splash park. Has a playground and an outdoor workout area. Lots of picnic tables and permanent loungers. Bathrooms for park users as well. Is a great park, kids loved it.

Very family friendly playground and splash park. The only downside is that the water is very cold which is ok if it is really hot outside.

Good beer, nice people, and laid-back atmosphere. Had the "white raven" and the "black spruce?" And both were fresh and flavorful. Been there twice now, will definately be back. Hit it up if you want to see a nice local microbrewery.

Apex has had nothing but great service , I had an issue with a beer and they got back to me right away and explained how all there process works. It ended up being a fluke accident on my end, and they still sent me a few free 4 packs just to make sure I was happy . Great service all around ! Pilsner and kolsch beers are absolutely delicious. Happy customer!

Great museum in Edson. Unfortunately we did not have time to actually go into the museum, we will have to do that another time but it looks very interesting. Everything else was very good. The staff is friendly and courteous. There are public washrooms available that are clean and accessible. There is a gift shop that is very nice. The building is in a park setting so you can go for a walk if you want.

The lady working the till didn't seem to know what she was doing but she was friendly. She immediately got help from another staff who was very friendly and extremly helpful. I would have given 5 stars if the first staff had payed attention to what I told her. The other staff was clearly listening and corrected the staff on till because I had explained twice how our group was paying and once again after the other staff came to help.

William A. Switzer Provincial Park is a picturesque campground set amidst the pine forest and Rocky Mountain vistas in Alberta. The park offers numerous opportunities to admire the mountains as you hike along its many trails or partake in winter sports. There are seven private campsites at Graveyard Lake that remain open all year round with no services available. The scenic Kelley's bathtub is a must-see attraction in the area, offering stunning views of its surroundings.
Beautiful fall colors and scenery. No shortage of trails and hikes. Nice campgrounds and hoping to make it back during the summer when everything is open.
Sean F — Google review
Kelly's Bathtub is a superb hike. Nice easy, well groomed trail for all types of walkers and hikers. The ranger there at the visitor center was so helpful and knowledgeable. She told us a lot we didn't know about bear behavior. Not that we would see any on the day we were there, but just for future reference. Nice scenic drive to the park as well.

A great escape to wondrous mountain scenery and not-too-dense forestry throughout the silent park. Campsites are spacious and well spread out throughout the park, and wildlife is abundant in the forms of many fowl, moose, deer, cougars, and much more. A great alternative to visit if other provincial parks are busy during camping season.

A beautiful and quiet park with very well maintained facilities and roadways. The only place we found for shore fishing was the stocked trout pond, but people with boats have many opportunities to fish for lake whitefish or yellow perch. The trails range from relaxed strolls to arduous day hikes, so there's something for everyone. Even the easiest trails provide great views of scenery, wildlife, and a great diversity of wildflowers. There is a lot of bear activity in the area, so be cautious.

To view Jarvis Lake from Switzer Park Visitor Center. There is a small beach area nearby and a trail surrounding a lake for short walks. It is a very nice place to visit.

A little disappointed that the bridge has changed and isn’t flat with the water anymore, but I’m sure it was for a reason. It’s still a beautiful park and a lovely walk.
Tehya Hope Sutton-Guy — Google review
The more quaint yet perhaps even more ruggedly beautiful version of Banff/Jasper! It gets much colder here than in the South, but fear not, as with the colder temperatures comes fewer tourists and much more private campsites. If you can brave the cold, this national park will blow you away, and absolutely deserves a visit!

Was camping at Gregs lake it was a beautiful and clean campsite with good trails. Kelley's bathtub had amazing views it is a must see if you are in the area.

Beautiful park. The lots are very close and have no trees in between to cover just bushes, the showers are covered in sludge and are disgusting too me. I was happy I had my flip flops on... the washroom flooded twice while I was there and when my car batterie died they would not jump my car at all at the park help hut.
Honestly the layout of the park is totally whack and I doubt I’ll be coming back however it’s a great spot considering proximity too the mountains.
Will not be returning here but if there’s nothing left too choose from, this ones the one for you for sure
Nice visitors centre. Outside there is nice benches and picnic tables for people to use. Inside there is lots of visitor info and washrooms that are available. A great rest stop on your way to somewhere else. Some green space to enjoy. The is some interesting information boards that are on the property to enjoy and find out how the yellow head highway got its name.

Beautiful building on the outside.
Don't let that fool you. The actual tourist and information area is a small room with nothing to look at. A few info papers. 4 postcards. Nothing else. Very dresry and disappointing.
Brandon Metchooyeah — Google review
Staff were Googling info for us, which I can also do. The one piece of information they gave without Google was incorrect:)
They also weren’t too familiar with the maps. Overall it seems that having two people work there is a complete waste; just put out the pamphlets and maps and people can figure out things from there with some Googling and calling places.
Zoltan Wagner — Google review
This is an excellent place to go for any information you need for any information. When asked, the employees are extremely knowlegable and are eager to give you brochures and information booklets on surrounding hikes and activities. They know the difficultiy in each of the hikes and even the condition of the roads leading to the trailheads! The reason that I gave 4 stars was because although they know a lot about the area, it seems that they can only recall infomation on these trails once directly brought up. For instance when asked if there were any cool things to see nearby, they struggled to think of any, but once I asked about the Bruleé cemetary and mountain park abandoned town, they were then able to recall all of the info I needed. So I would absolutely come here for detailed local information on trails and attractions, but I would suggest coming with a few places attractions in mind first!

Boardwalk through forest & waterways offering views of beavers, other wildlife & natural scenery.
It's so peaceful. Had a nice walk but I didn't see any beavers. But it was okay the weather was calm. There's a part of the boardwalk that was damaged and can't be strolled. I hope they can fix that.
Cleo P — Google review
Was a nice walk. Pretty views of the mashy flats. Went at 6 ish in the evening since dusk is supposed to be best to see beavers out and about. Didn't see any beavers tho 😔 but saw the dams and house that they've built. At least 3 boardwalks were closed and needed repair. Popular place for running and taking dogs for walks. 🏃♂️🐶
Pam B — Google review
A nice network of trails around the wetlands. The boardwalks made the walking easier, even on a rainy day. There were lots of birds and small animals sharing the area. There were a number of sections closed off while we were there, it looked like some repairs were needed, but this was the end of the season so that's understandable. If you're staying near Hinton this is a trail well worth visiting. You can spend either an hour or several hours and cover everything. It's perfect for an evening stroll.

Had a nice stroll along the boardwalk. Some areas are under construction but that didn't slow me down. Good area to get fresh air and exercise. Seen a couple beavers but wasn't able or quick enough to get a picture of them. A nice elevated bridge area out in the marsh. Kids would love to explore the area and I plan on taking the kids here on our next Canadian road trip.

Beautiful nature and rehabilitation scenery with a wonderful boardwalk surrounding a beaver lodge. Visit during sunrise or sunsets for the best chance at capturing a glimpse of these busy workers. People there are friendly and respectful nature lovers. A great place for a silent escape to bring family to view such an amazing natural habitat if you're ever visiting the area. Bikes (unmotorized) are also permitted.

Very nice boardwalk area. Looks to have had some recent fixes to some spots. There were some areas that we couldn't go due to a flooding event. There were lots of different birds around the area. We even got to witness a rufous humming bird sitting way up on the tips of the dead conifers.

Visited in late September and the beavers came out around 4:45pm. We saw a few of the little ones playing and climbing on the outside of the dam and one of the adult beavers was collecting grasses from the nearby shores. Probably would've seen more activity if we'd stayed later or been there around sunset, but we had dinner reservations back in Jasper

We had an RV so found off street parking at approx 440 Collinge road about 200mtrs away from start of walk, there is parking right at the entrance also with a toilet there. Wheelchair accessible track mostly. We visited twice and saw beavers there after 6pm, they put on a great show. Plenty of bird life around as well which was fantastic. We spent hours here taking it all in. You could rush around the walkways in less than an hour if you wanted to. Friendly locals who are happy to share their knowledge and eperiences with you. One of our favourite places during our 3 week stay in Canada

Very beautiful place for a stroll or hike. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because parts of the boardwalk are in severe need of repairs.
Bring your dogs but keep them on a leash.
Lots of wildlife including birds and beavers and watch out for bears and cougars and I don't mean the ones with manicured nails! 😉
The Sulphur Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park is a well-marked path that leads hikers through the tree line to a high mountain peak. The highlight of the trail, however, is not at the summit but at the trailhead where Miette Hot Springs await. The hike is a steady uphill climb with only one junction to navigate halfway up. Once above the trees, hikers can enjoy stunning views of the dome in the distance.
This trail marked our fourth summit conquest during our stay in Jasper, Alberta. The Sulphur Skyline hiking trail treated us to some of the most awe-inspiring panoramas we've encountered. It was indeed a challenging climb, spanning approximately 5 miles to reach the Skyline summit and back. The hike demanded about 5 hours of our time, but the vistas we encountered along the way made every step worthwhile.
Xavier K — Google review
The hike up was grueling for my group of sedentary gamers, but there are plenty of opportunities to stop as frequently as needed without obstructing the path. It is an uphill incline the entire way, and only gets steeper as you ascend. Pacing is key for those who are out of shape; many people who were walking slower than us actually beat us to the summit because they didn't have to take as many breaks. In our excitement we moved too quickly and as a result had to take breaks at every opportunity.
As you near the top, there are a couple of "wow!" moments where a break in the trees reveals how far you've come. These spots were definitely inspiring for us to keep going.
At the false summit, you are treated to an amazing view and it seems like it can't possibly get any better (but it can!). The false summit is very spacious, and is a great spot for a picnic.
Going all the way to the peak is definitely worth it, though. The last 400m is a tough climb up a steep gravel-covered slope. Hiking poles were extremely helpful here. At the peak you'll have a full 360 degree view of all the surrounding mountains, most of which were not visible at all at any point along the way.
It took us a little under 3 hours to ascend, and 1 hour to descend, but many people passed us in both directions so it can definitely be done in less time if you're fit. When we started at 9:30AM, there were only 3 other groups heading up. But on the way down the trail was getting crowded and the parking lot was completely full of cars (and bighorn sheep!). I'd recommend going early to avoid crowds at the summit.
Bethany — Google review
So much fun! The view was great, smoke from nearby forest fires made it slightly less than epic. Not a difficult hike, my kids had no problem making it to the top.
Jake Halliday — Google review
Greatly recommend starting earlier to beat the rush. Beautiful summit with astonishing view of the mountain ranges. Passed an entire hockey team on the way down and 30+ other people, busy. Medium difficulty with steeper terrain nearing the summit. Hiked it Oct 1st and the top half was all snowed in.

Steep hike with beautiful views! Peek is windy, hold on to your cap and take a windbreaker. Did not see wildlife besides a crow
Kohos S — Google review
It's a steady incline all the way up. Out and back for a total of 3.5 - 4 hours. This is well worth the trip. It's a glorious panoramic at the end. You see so many social media posts from the ridge. It's rated as hard but totally doable by anyone...you can move at whatever pace you feel comfortable. There really is no difficult spot until the very end which is a bit of a scramble to get to the top. Loved the reward!
Wes Inaba — Google review
Amazing views from the top after a challenging and partly steep trail. Bring hiking boots and a warm jacket! The 4km hike (one way) with nearly 700m elevation took us 90 minutes up and 50 minutes down. We're experienced hikers.
Nina — Google review
A great hike that was a highlight of our late September weekend getaway to Jasper National Park. There is significant elevation gain on this hike, but it's very manageable if you pace yourself. If there is snow in the forecast, make sure you bring hiking poles. They kept us on our feet, even on the steep & slippery parts of the trail.
Kevin Lockert — Google review
Great hike with lots of elevation. Took us approximately 4 hours to reach the summit and back to our car. We did not do the loop, but the summit itself was amazing. Definitely recommend to bring walking sticks since there is a lot of loose gravel at the top which makes it easy to lose your footing.
Angel Avila — Google review
A busy yet beautiful hike. This is one of those hikes that you should do at least once. There aren't many hikes that are this rewarding for the "lower" amount of energy needed (when compared to hikes with similar views) Good hiking boots and poles are recommended as usual but the poles aren't necessary. It's a fairly steady uphill hike and you will want a moderate fitness level.
Brett H — Google review
Moderate to Hard trail especially the last 400m. Well worth the climb to see 360 degree view. Once you are done with the hike, you can enjoy the hot spring down at the bottom of the mountain, and all your muscle pains are instantly gone! Be warn it is not for very young kids to go, be sure you wear proper clothing as the weather can change very quickly. The day we went up, at the bottom of the mountain the temperature was 17c, up at the mountain the temp was 12-13C with very strong wind. Be sure you wear a jacket or sweater (and not just T-shirt to hike up)! The whole trail takes approx 4 hours (+/- 40mins) to complete.
Jason A — Google review
Wide well defined easy to follow trail the whole way up. Starts as a gentle incline and gets steeper as you go. The last part after the meadows being by far the steepest. For us today it was 4 stars just because of the smoke. It was light when we started and was very thick when we got to the summit. We plan to return one day when there is better visibility. We recorded 9.9 KM and 671 M of elevation gain.
Ron Strauss — Google review
Steep hike worth it for amazing g views. Spectacular views from the summit! You really have to make it to the top for this trail to be worth while, as there aren't many views on the way up, but once there it's amazinging! As with most hikes I would recommend an early start, we got on the trail by 8 and shared the summit with 3 or 4 other groups, but must have passed 200 or so people headed up as we were going down.
The Tangle Creek Falls tourist attraction is a popular stop for those travelling along Highway 93 between Calgary and Edmonton. This waterfall is tucked away just north of the Icefields, and can be accessed by an easy pull-in. When frozen, local guides use the ice to teach climbing lessons at this scenic spot.
Beautiful, but mostly frozen in April when we drove by and stopped. There were climbers setting up, not sure if they were going to climb the ice or the rock face.
Paula Darwent — Google review
This is a high and cascade waterfalls located on the roadside of the Icefields parkway. You will easily pass it if you do not look at the side along the highway.
The falls is located between the Glacier viewpoint and Icefield skywalk. It is 2km far from Glacier Viewpoint or 1 km far from Columbia Icefiled Skywalk.
You can park right at the Tangle Falls lookout to visit this viewpoint and easily climb up to the top of the waterfall.

Very pretty easy stop at the side of the highway. Would have loved to do the hike but unfortunately we were already exhausted from 12k earlier in the day. So the prettiness without the walk was appreciated.

An amazing little waterfall that you can go very close up to. If you are careful you can get some really nice pictures with these falls if you're very careful when climbing some of the slippery rocks. You can also just stand towards the bottom of the waterfall and get about 1 to 2 m close to it stepping on the stones.
Talha Mubashir — Google review
A really nice waterfall... that you drive right by on the Icefields Parkway. You are able to park on the other side of the road get out and cross the street where you can climb around a little on either side of the falls. While there are tons of spots along this road for pit stops to take in the scenery. This one felt like the most up close experience that was easily attainable.
Rob Haynes — Google review
A quick stop to explore these falls, got to see a couple roping up to climb a slab to the south of the falls. Totally worth the stop. Parking by the toilets is not the best, better to park in large paved parking a few meters north of bathrooms. You could totally take a shower under these falls.

Another nice stop along the Icefields Parkway! This was our last stop headed north before turning around back towards Banff. Plenty of parking at the pullout. The falls are two-tiered and there are plenty of routes to climb up them! Beautiful & accessible.

Stopped here for 10min during the weekday. There is a small parking lot across the street from the waterfall. Worth adding to your list of stops on the Icefield Parkway. It’s crazy how this nice of a waterfalll is just along side the road!

They are on the road side, near the border of banff and jasper national park. You can go all the way to the top of falls too if you like. It's more for Pictures, rather than jumping in
It does not take more than 5 min to see, more like a checkmark on the way or out of jasper

Wow, a wonderful stop on the way from Jasper to Banff. Wondeful water fall from the mountains. Available washrooms. I thing is so popular the the Highway 93 has a pedestrian lines to cross to the waterfall side. Be careful though

This was one of the better and most accessible waterfalls along the ice field parkway end of June 2023. Parked and scrambled all the way up to the highest of the terraced falls. Beautiful, easy, not packed.

This is such a nice place to stop by for a snack, lunch, and just to indulge the beauty of the falls it is just a few minutes drive toward Jasper from the ice-field.

Very cool to visit and climb during the winter!

Made a brief stop here on 13 June 2022 with my family. The fall is just next to narrow Highway 93 and the river goes underneath the road to the other side.
Wish I had time to climb to the top. The climb looks gentle.
Two car parks. One directly opposite with a toilet.

Great place to take pictures. It's a beautiful waterfall right along the side of highway 93 between Jasper and Banff. There is a pullout so that you can park and take a few minutes to enjoy. This is perfect for people with mobility issues, allowing them to enjoy a beautiful waterfall without overtraining their ability to move about. My wife loved it.

The waterfall looks amazing and the best part is you can get really close to the waterfall, this is a great place to come after the icefield glacier and the skywalk or if you just want to stop and look

The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a 1km pathway that guides visitors to an observation platform with a glass-floor, providing a stunning view of the 280m drop below. Situated between Lake Louise and Jasper on the Icefields Parkway, this remarkable attraction combines a walkway at the edge of a cliff with an overlook featuring transparent flooring. It offers breathtaking vistas of the Sunwapta Valley.
Wow, what a place, what a structure! I and my wife are both architects and it was amazing to see this structure just hanging there. An amazing Structural engineering!!!
Very cool experience to walk on glass and see nothing below your feet, some people have a bit of an issue with it. If you have a fear of highs you might have an issue with that.
Highly recommended place to visit!

What a place this is. It's surreal, it's beautiful, and it's fantastic. The views, the roads, the mountains, everything was perfect. We were fortunate that the weather was also lovely, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Walking on the skywalk was a fantastic experience. It felt scary in the beginning, but overall, it was fun. We were able to click some great pictures.

Great views. A really well engineered tourist attraction. FYI: unable to drive up to location and enter to "look down" but must instead go to the ticketing building, purchase tour ticket, board a bus, get driven for approx. 7 mins to the location whilst hearing some facts about the area, then enter for sightseeing. The return buses come every 10 mins or so to take you back to your vehicle.

This place is a must visit if you are traveling through Jasper or Banff. From this bridge you need to drive another 10 minutes to the parking lot, after which you go on a bus and they will take you to the bridge and back. The first steps on this bridge caused fear for me personally, but on the third approach to this bridge I felt very comfortable and was lucky with the weather: it was very warm and sunny. But I think this place is beautiful in any weather. I was also amazed by the selection of souvenirs in the store. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to have lunch in the cafe, but I will definitely come back here again!

Columbia Icefields is a unique experience. We went in September. There was no snow anywhere except in Columbia Icefields. It was so surprising and enchanting. It's about 10 degrees cooler at the Skywalk than the rest of the parkway, so dress up accordingly. We saw snow goats from the Skywalk, it was so awesome.

Absolutely spectacular. Very safe vehicle and fairly easy to get in and out of for older people. The drive to the glaciers in the specially made vehicles is very up and down...steep inclines. Our driver Jess made it seem easy. Great tour guide and driver. Jess was very pleasant and funny! There were a few people who fell walking on the glacier but you just have to take it slow. Glacier is outstanding. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

An unmissable place when you visit Banff/Jasper.. you will be amazed with the natural beauty, serenity and sheer size of glacier. Take a jacket without fail, as the glacier is less than 10degrees even during peak summer. Also advance booking of ride to glacier is a must!

If you are going to the icefield, yuo may as well get the package to visit the Skywalk whilst you are there. Personally I would do the Skywalk first if possible.
The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a popular tourist attraction located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is a glass-floored observation platform that extends out from the edge of a cliff, providing visitors with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and the Sunwapta River below. The Skywalk is situated along the Icefields Parkway, approximately halfway between the Jasper and Banff townsites. It offers visitors a unique perspective of the Canadian Rockies and the Athabasca Glacier. The Columbia Icefield Skywalk features a horseshoe-shaped walkway with a glass floor that juts out from the cliff's edge. The platform is constructed of steel and glass, providing an unobstructed view of the landscape below. You can enjoy a self guided walk that includes informational displays about the surrounding geology, wildlife, and glaciology. The experience offers a thrilling opportunity to view the dramatic landscape from a new vantage point. The Skywalk is wheelchair accessible, allowing people of all abilities to enjoy the experience. It is designed with safety features and has a solid construction to ensure visitors' comfort and security while exploring the platform.

Really nice place , the staff and crew were very good. I wish they could regulate the number of people on the sky walk. Too crowded, no room to move or take pics . Given covid , even more reason to socially distance. My tip - take the last trip out at 17.30, the crowd thins out and you have some place to breathe and move around
Pavan Jacob — Google review
The views are great and walking on that glass pathway is a thrill in itself. Interesting to see the engineering behind it. Took a little while to grab the bus back to the welcome center but it's alright. Not necessarily a must see, but definitely worth it if you have the time.

If you’re going to Banff and Jasper then a must do activity and excursion. It’s unbelievable to stand and walk on a 10000 year old glacier. Columbia icefield glacier team is great very courteous and experienced. There discovery center is great 👍🏻. Overall a fabulous and fantastic experience.
Aditya Madan — Google review
The skywalk is a wonderful experience. The price-performance ratio is still ok. If you travel here by bus, you should take plenty of time. There is so much to see, experience and learn. All around the mountains and the glaciers, and also the animals like the mountain goats and the bears. You also learn how important nature and climate protection are for the preservation of the glaciers and their lakes.
Taxi driver — Google review
We did just the skywalk (no glacier walking tour - so can’t comment on that) and were pretty disappointed. It’s essentially a glorified rest stop at the side of the road, with okay views but nothing remarkable compared to other spots along the highway and in the nearby national parks.
You arrive at the glacier centre and they take you on a bus up to the skywalk (which you already drove past). You walk around for a while, walk across the glass skywalk, then get the bus back.
Frankly, the views from the glacier centre where you board the bus are better than the skywalk. Unless you’re super keen to walk on glass, I’d suggest you just skip it and enjoy a coffee/lunch in the cafe, which was quite nice and reasonably priced.
Haskan Kaya — Google review
Visited on Sep 10, 2023. The regular shuttle bus back from the Columbia Icefield bypasses the visitor centre and goes further north on HWY 93 to arrive here directly. A little scared at the right beginning on the glass but soon ok. Another way to become better is to look at the horizon instead of looking down. Good view and worthy.
Mr. Zeng — Google review
It was such a great time. Took my father in law. It was our first time. There was some maintenance being done, so we couldn't walk the whole thing, however we still had access to over half of it and the views are spectacular. There's no rush which is nice.
Jessica Klaassen — Google review
We arrived with bad weather so the viability at times was not great but we did see and photograph some beautiful scenery and loved how easy it was to walk around with no restrictions. The skywalk gave you stunning views of the mountains, rivers and Glaciers. The structure was amazing so make sure you also check it out. Bus does run frequently to and from the Columbia Icefield centre and access is very easy.
Terry Ross — Google review
This was one of the most amazing experience. A bit overpriced but definitely worth it. There was frequent buses to get to the skywalk. It is long and wide enough for a large crowd. Lots of information boards around to get more information about the animals and site.
It was a bit jarring to step on the glass but once you step into it than it gets better
M K — Google review
This is a bizarre addition to the Columbia Ice Fields tour that doesn't make sense. There used to be a nice pull out area to park vehicles and enjoy the scenery. Now the entire area is occupied by this mammoth steel structure that extends into the valley with a small glass section. It begs the question why???
This sky walk adds another 1 hr to the ice field tour, which typically used to take about 2 hrs. Now it takes almost 3hrs in total with no access to a washroom after you left the main building. A bus will directly take you from the ice field tour to this new location. Some people had opted to skip this and stay in the bus to continue to the visitor centre.
This is one of the sad realities of ultra commercialization of the Banff/Jasper National Parks.
Waruna C — Google review
Walking across the bridge is a truly great experience, and you need not worry because the glass is incredibly strong and safe. The view of the mountains and waterfalls from the bridge is awe-inspiring. Keep an eye out, as you might even spot mountain goats beneath the bridge. If you enjoy heights, this is an absolute must-visit destination. Be sure to purchase a ticket in advance, as you cannot stop on the side of the highway to access it. Also, it's essential to be prepared since there are no washroom facilities available at this location.
Destination Diaries with Matt — Google review
The views were stunning. I had a tickling sensation in my stomach from the walk on the glass-floor observation platform overlooking a 280m drop 😅🤩.
Peace of advice: go to the washrooms before heading into the bus for the skywalk. There are no toilets when you arrive. The washroom in our bus was always closed. We had to use the bushes 🙃

Feel of adventure with touch of care!
Great activity to do if you're feared of heights, it feels so safe and solid which helps you overcome the fear of height.
Great place of visit with young kids.
Car parking is located 6km east of the actual structure with free super comfy bus shuttle is available every 15 minutes.

Wilcox Pass Trail is a rugged hiking trail located about 100 kilometers from Jasper, near the border with Banff National Park. While it may be overshadowed by the more famous Parker Ridge Trail, this hike offers stunning views of Mount Athabasca and glaciers in the Columbia Icefield. The trail condition was reported to be very good in 2019, with the first part passing through a forest before quickly reaching the tree line for breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Awesome trail. Starts with narrow path through woods but then opens out on edge of a drop to provide some spectacular views. Is a steep path but not excessive. Is however rough rocked in places and very close to the edge of a deep cliff of the valley. Not a walk for the faint of heart. Get a really good view of the glacier.
Steven Vickers — Google review
What a wonderful view of the Athabasca glacier from the Wilcox Pass Trail! It’s a moderate hike with sweeping views of the glacier throughout. Highly recommend doing this trail instead of paying to take the bus that parks on the toe of the glacier….seems like the worst way to view a glacier while destroying it at the same time!!
Sonia — Google review
Absolutely amazing trail. Recommend wearing hiking boots as well as using poles. Lots of uphill and quite the workout. It’s about 9.5 km up and back down if you do the whole trail. The views during the hike are amazing and beautiful. Lots of little patches of running water. The view at the top is gorgeous. It is a lot colder at the top, so be sure to dress warm! Takes about 3-4 hours for the whole hike, depending on how many breaks you take.

great views of the glaciers at the end of the trail. It's around 5 km one way to the end. Steep sections. I would recommend proper footwear and trekking poles.

Very beautiful hike around the peak of the Icefields Parkway. Just where Banff and Jasper national parks meet.
Condition of the trail in 2019 was very good, the first part goes through a little forest but one reaches the tree line very quickly which allows views of the amazing surrounding. Once you reach Wilcox Pass make sure you proceed to the left to reach the view point above Columbia Icefield visitor center for the most awesome view of the glacier and surrounding mountains. But be aware that it's pretty cold up there and windy so dress accordingly.
Round trip took us about 2.5 hours.

Jasper National Park Icefield Information Centre and Glacier Gallery
The Icefield Information Centre in Jasper National Park is a popular destination with breathtaking views of glaciers. It offers a variety of amenities, including a patio with glacier views, trails, tours, a shop, and an eatery & cafe. This center is considered one of the top attractions in both Jasper and Banff. However, it has recently become a cause for concern due to the impact of excessive tourism on the physical properties of the glaciers.
Great location to experience and learn about glaciers. On the day that we visited the opened an exhibition about glaciers and the effects of global warming. Very interesting when you are there.

Enjoyed the icefield and the skywalk. The kids (age 10 and 8) enjoyed walking in the ice. The parents were more freaked out on the skywalk than the kids. The icebus thing goes down a 32 degree angle road, which is also pretty crazy.

A once in a lifetime experience at The Jasper National Park Icefields! I will never forget this amazing experience walking on the glacier! It was absolutely magnificent!! The ride up on the ice explorer was incredibly entertaining. It was hysterical to watch everyone slip sliding around, trying to maintain their balance! Make sure to wear proper footwear! I was amazed to see a lot of people wearing shorts with no jackets! It definitely gets cold up there, so dress in comfortable layers. You are encouraged to bring your own bottle to sample some of the refreshing glacier water right from the stream. If you are anywhere near Jasper, put this adventure on your bucket list and go!

What an experience. Carry good jackets because it's very windy out there. The trip on the bus to the glacier was wonderful. It is best to go here in mid or late summer. We paid for the skywalk too which is nothing much to write about but I guess some people might like it.

What an amazing experience. The guide was so informative. It's a very popular tourist attraction but absolutely stunning. We were taken on a shuttle bus to get the ice buses, which have enormous wheels. We reached the glacier and spent approximately 30 minutes tootling about. There are marked boundaries which you have to stay within, because there are crevasses which the unsuspecting could fall in! If you ever get the opportunity, do it.
Lesley Whittle — Google review
I arrived late so they put me on standby. I was able to get on the bus half an hour later. The guide on the Icefield Explorer was a Brit. He was excellent with information and very funny too. He took photos of me and we got another guide to take photos of us. The Glacier was cool! I even drank the ice cold and very refreshing water. Not too slippery unless you walk down to the stream of melting glacier. Scenery was spectacular.
The building is beautiful but there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to it. I suppose there must be elevators for people with mobility issues. Inside, there’s a lovely gift shop and Starbucks. Upstairs there’s a restaurant but I think it was only open for events. I’m not 100 percent sure.
There are hiking trails just outside and there are some hungry ravens and chipmunks outside.

So worth it!!! Great to do for families! We did a package that included this and so happy we did! Wear warmer clothes and defiantly try the glacier water you can kneel down and scope some water into your mouth WOW! That best! They talk about the facts of the area during the small amount of time in the big rigs. Very interesting. They say it won't exist in 50 years so see it while you can!

Experience of a lifetime. Booking in advance you don't have to wait in line. Once you land at the discovery centre, you have to stand in line 15 before your bus leaves to take you to the Ice explorer. You have to spend 25 minutes and then they transfer you to the Skywalk. Earlier the better. Carry water and food as things are expensive. No washrooms once you get on the bus. It takes about two hours. Dress warmly as the glacier is cold and wear proper shoes.

If you have kids in between 8 years or above must visit this place. Buy the pursuit combo with the skywalk in $103/person.

We really enjoyed visiting the glacier and learning the history of the area. The Skywalk was neat as well, but the highlight was definitely the glacier. I downloaded the app and tour before we left and really enjoyed the additional information it provided - if you like details, I highly advise doing this!

Buy tickets in advance. Ice explorer and visiting the glacier is an amazing experience and one that won't be around much longer thanks to rising temperatures. We had lunch at the buffet restaurant after and the food was great. There is a small set of exhibits but nothing big. This stop is all about the views of the glacier and ice field and taking the glacier scheduled tours.

This was a unique experience! The entire adventure was slick and well organised, and certainly enhanced by the expertise and sense of humour of our drivers and guide: Abby, Cal and Sam. It was a short 5 minute bus ride from the Discovery Centre, over moraine, to the transfer centre. Here we boarded the specialised 6 wheel drive, Ice Explorer which navigated the steep terrain (33% slope!) to reach the glacier. There was a designated safe area within which we could wander for 30 minutes. The blueish glassy sections were very slippery. Less so on the churned up ice. Sturdy walking shoes and warm gear were essential. There was a Canadian flag which made a great prop for photos! If you remember (wish I had!) to take a small cup, you are able to sample the water from streams in the small crevasses. There are no amenities at the transfer centre/glacier, so be sure to make use of them at the Discovery Centre before you depart!

Beautiful spot. Cafeteria prices are high. $60 for a whole pizza, yikes! Clean restrooms (a.k.a. washrooms in Canadian). Wonderful opportunity to walk on a glacier. Scenery is incredible. You are going to take a ton of photos. One of the most scenic highway drives you'll ever experience.

If you want to experience the Glacier up close you should definitely visit the Columbia icefield. You need to come to the visitor centre to get your tickets or you can purchase them online. The place has a free wifi even though such remote location. The washrooms are pretty neat and water dispensers available. The place also has Starbucks and a restaurant for food and a gift shop for souvenirs. You will meet some amazing staff around who are very friendly. I would recommend buying tickets online booking your slots as it gets crowded in the kiosk.

Such a great experience! We came with a tour group, which I highly recommend if you like learning history and facts you won't typically get. The center was clean, but fairly packed. However, everything ran smoothly and in a timely manner.
The famous Athabasca Glacier, a receding glacier, is the most popular destination in North America. Guided tours and hiking are available for visitors. The Icefield Parkway offers numerous stops such as Bow Lake, Columbia Icefield, Peyto Lake and Athabasca waterfalls with hiking trails. Most tourists drive an hour to the Peyto Lake viewing point before returning to Lake Louise. Although many people do not visit the lake itself, they walk up to its viewpoint to admire it from above.
Incredible Experience!
We booked the Columbia Icefield Adventure tour which allowed us to travel on a massive Ice Explorer to a Athabasca Glacier where we enjoyed walking on the Glacier and learned lots of interesting facts about this glacier.
It included Ice Explorer Tour on the Athabasca Glacier, admission to the Skywalk, and return transportation to the Glacier Discovery Centre. The ice explorer truck/vehicle was so impressive. The ride was fun and entertaining. It was a wonderful experience walking on the glacier. It was very cold and windy even in July and it was slippery too. So wear warm clothes and good shoes when visiting here.
Some people were collecting water in bottles and they were drinking it too. You can book the tickets online and in advance to avoid the line ups at the discovery centre.
Overall a must visit place when visiting Jasper and before its gone!! :)
Highly recommend!

There are Glaciaer torus, which you have to book ahead of time.

One place you must visit before it’s all gone due to climate change!!! Stunning views of surrounding mountains and valley, the glacier can be visited through the tour services where you can book your way up there and experience a very special sight of blue and green crevices in the ice, drink glacier water and admire this stunning place!!!

Went there in August, it was chilly but super gorgeous and nice! It’s a worth trying experience. Hurry, the glacier is melting super fast.
There are two ways to get there from the parking:
1) buy admission tickets - overpriced but lovely experience. Depending on the admission tickets, you can either hike or bus there with a guide.
2) you can hike to the glacier on your own from the parking place. Free but limited experience because there are safety fences that would stop you from hiking on the ice.
Both the experiences are great! All you need are hiking shoes for icy surface, warm clothes and plenty of water :)))
Enjoy!!!

Well worth a visit. Photos and recessional moraines show how fast the glacier is retreating. The snow vehicles are amazing, comfortable and warm. Guides are knowledgeable and help keep you from wondering off and falling down a crevasse (no chance of that if you stay within the flags). I filled my water bottle with glacial run off water after the guide said it was OK from a specific point where the water crops out of the glacier. Deliciously cold and refreshing.

Great tour of the ice field, gives you a perspective how fast the ice is melting, you can actually see it and taste it. There is a small stream where you can drink fresh cold glacier water. I just got a little disappointed because we were confined to a small area of the Glacier, but in the name of conservation and for our one safety rules have to be followed

The Athabasca Glacier in Banff is a must-see natural wonder. Even if you only stop at the parking lot, the view is simply breathtaking. It was very busy on the thanksgiving weekend
We were fortunate to get off the vehicles onto the glacier to snap some photos. It was very cold because of the freezing winds even on a sunny day. The ice was very slippery and quite a few people were falling down. Highly recommend wearing boots and winter wear for this adventure.

One of the highlights of my holiday. We went on an ice field explorer tour (on the giant bus) to get here. Incredible to think the glacier is 10,000 years old. And you get to drink some of the freshly melted water. The tour guides were great too. The memory of this glacier will stay with me forever.

Once in a lifetime experience, seeing up close the Glacier. The driver, aka guide, is super friendly! Would go back to do a half day hike in the glacier.

Amazing, eye-catching location to enjoy nature at its best. One can see and enjoy glacier's view from quite near.
One very important thing to note, please wear proper thermals before visiting this place anytime of the year as no matter what the wind speed and the chill is quite high in this area.

Visited here during the month of July. Place was very busy. There is short steep hike to the foot of the glacier. It is sad to see how glacier has resided over the years. They have markers indicating where the foot of the glacier was based on the year. However it was a beautiful experience visiting the glacier.

Very worth it to brace the cold and wind to see the glacier. Definitely bring a coat outside of Summer.
The sense of scale and the approach on a clear day is worth the trek!

The air in this place is the cleanest i have ever breathed. I really recommend visiting this place. It is beautiful, has a lot of history about the retraction of the glacier and a nice trail. Remember to enjoy this visit!

Incredible experience! We went in July, and it was beautiful. Amazing to see the speed at which it is melting. Bring many layers! It was very very windy and the wind over the glacier is extra chilling. Make sure to bring your water bottle and taste the water!

We went after thanksgiving and turns out all tours end that weekend. Would have been great to go on the glacier but we did the short hike up to the bottom and it was nice to see something that is quickly disappearing.

Perfect, enchanting and mesmerizing place!
Our group fell in love with the views😍😍😍 to start with the tours are meticulously organised and the time is perfectly enough set. We had 30 minutes on the glacier and then as much as wanted on the skywalk, but till 7 pm when the last shuttle left.
One thing to take into account is that the restaurants are working till 6 pm only. So do take some regular snacks with you provided you want to stay till 7 pm😜😝😍

Remember to bring a beanie. The temperature here is 10degrees lower than the base lodge. The views are superb, breathtaking and reminds us to use less product and protect our beautiful natural landscape. Brewster did a great job on this tour.

Hugo, trip is amazing I never been to Canda but I'm glad to see the Atlantic glacier. I'll come to place more often when I have time to take a break during summer.

Amazing place. The walk on the glacier is a must, take a water bottle so you can taste the clear water. The sights are breath taking. Fun trip to the glacier on the the glacier explorer vehicles and bus driver was really amazing and informative.👍🏻🥰

Such a very cool (no pun intended) and unique opportunity. Each of our drivers was personable and full of really fun and interesting facts about the area and the glacier. Highly recommend the visit.

Had a great time seeing glacier with family.
Known to be one of the three permanent glacier on earth.
Glacier is being receded over time though.
Definitely one of the most visitable places in Rockies.
You can walk up a bit on the glacier. But highly recommend taking the snow car? serviced by Columbia ice field

This has been my dream. I am not built for any sports. I have the weakest knees and lungs but this girl is a dreamer. Yes the hike was a struggle and there is a whole story of my journey. But we are here for the place because we could have different experiences. Not that mine was bad.
I usually post pictures and let the picture tell the story and for you to decide how amazing it is to walk on a glacier.

Here is a glacier you can walk to from a highway and astonishing how much it's retreated in just our lifetime. Wonderful views from Glacier View Lodge across but recommend walking if you are able or take the bus.

We drove here early in the morning to avoid potential crowds. There was lots of parking and public washrooms available.
We saw the melting glacier coming down in a small stream. There is a short, steep hike to get to the glacier, with markers and info plaques along the way showing the melting rate of the glacier. The actual glacier was fenced off
Worth a visit!

The Athabasca Glacier in Banff is a must-see natural wonder. Even if you only stop at the parking lot, the view is simply breathtaking. Its proximity to the highway makes it incredibly accessible, and I was able to capture an amazing photo. The sheer beauty of the glacier against the surrounding landscape is a sight to behold. Next time, I plan to take a walk and get even closer to this stunning piece of nature.

We booked the ice explorer tour to the glacier through pursuit. It was an amazing experience to ride those ginormous vehicles. Our tour guide Sebastian was warm and welcoming with a sense of humour.
The loaded onto the bus was the a bit long but everything else was very smooth and timely
