Super cool place to check out if you’re in the area! A lot of people recommended getting a tour and I’m sure you learn a lot more that way but it’s possible to go without. You can drive or walk the ring road, we chose to walk. Such a unique location in Alberta!

Amazing sites. The fact that there is a desert type area in the same province as mountains is crazy. Lots of different trails to walk down. We couldn’t find one that was accessible with a stroller so I recommend a hiking backpack if you have a child of that size. We did two different trails. Neither were hard, some stairs involved. There are wildlife warnings posted around. Bring a hat and water. It is like a desert dress for the season. This park has different point you can drive to, to look at fossils or different trail accesses. There is one cafe in the park but they have a decent amount of options. The visitors centre is great for learning for all ages. Also there is a great look out point right before entering.

Beautiful and unique experience! A true treasure of a park. I learn something new each time I go. Has a great family friendly campground with an opportunity to camp right in the midst of the badlands. Our kids really enjoyed the interpretive shows at the amphitheater in the evening. Worth the trip.

if your into dinosaurs, history and an unusual landscape you must check this place out. i camped out here in my van and went on some really interesting walks learning about the history that happened..
bring mozzie spray, the bugs get bad just at sunset.
you can book tours here as well.
looking forward to coming back here one day and doing a tour to find some Dino bones.

Very interesting place to visit. The drive from Calgary is quite dull, but still worth the effort. The visitor center has an interesting little museum and the stuff is very friendly.
Even if there is no availability for the guided tours, the place is really nice to visit just for the views and hikes. The hikes have information panels along them, so you'll get to learn a lot.
Jaime R — Google review
You can’t go wrong with this park especially at sunset. This place is so neat.
During the summer though it can get very hot so make sure you have lots of water, electrolytes, sunscreen and a hat.
Kaila Walton — Google review
This place is super awesome! The landscape is incredible and the weather was perfect. We did the Fossil Safari tour with Dylan and found a bunch of fossils. Our kids loved it and Dylan was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

One of my absolute favorite places in Alberta. Camping here is amazing. Had the pleasure of camping here with some of the most amazing company, wandered, biked and enjoyed the most incredible scenery I've seen. Managed to be there during the March 10th aurora. Can't wait to come back.
Family friendly, quiet, amazing scenery. What more could you ask for?
Stu K — Google review
This is a awesome place to visit. Camp ground is well laid out and clean. There is also a Cafe to get food. We'll worth the visit.
Geoff Minors — Google review
This place has a beautiful landscape. I loved it. The photos don't show the beauty as it deserves and it is totally underrepresented. Highly recommended. You feel that you are in Arizona or Nevada not Alberta!
Sara Javidi — Google review
Awesome park to visit if you are willing to take a detour around calgary. It's about 30-45 minutes away from hwy 1, so if you are looking for a scenic pit stop, this is worth the detour. They have washrooms and a cafe down at the campground.
They also have a nice drive path to the view points / dinosaur bones, so you don't have to do a whole hike.
I was doing a road trip to Calgary and decided to take a detour, which was worth it.

Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta is an incredibly beautiful masterpiece of Nature and the Creator of the World! A large, beautiful natural park with real dinosaur bones. An interesting place to visit for absolutely everyone who loves and appreciates nature in its pristine form.
Alex — Google review
Beautiful park with lots of family friendly hikes. The landscape and the views are incredible and second to none. The campgrounds are very nice and well maintained.

Couldn’t believe that I’ve lived in Alberta for 32 years without visiting Dinosaur Provincial Park. The landscape is breathtaking. Keep your dogs leashed and be careful where they are walking- there are scorpions, rattlesnakes, and so many cacti! Bring them lots of water because it gets hot and there is not a lot of shade on some of the hoodoo hiking trails. The dogs loved the hikes by the river best because there is plenty of shade from the trees.
The John Ware cabin is so neat. I had no idea it was there so it was a special surprise to be able to go in and learn about him and his influence on Alberta’s ranching history. Check for hours the cabin is open for viewing.
The camp site was well maintained. We stayed at a site closer to the stream. Glad we did because there are trees and shade there. Also lots of deer running around that side of the campground! The other side closest to the hoodoos are quite exposed to the hot sun and less private. Lovely to have the little cafe there. So much to do here. We spent one night here. Get there early so you have lots of time to explore. Definitely wake up early to hike a short 10-15 mins to watch the sunrise up on on the hoodoos.
Also very cool to see the dinosaur bones. They offer interactive tours. We did a self tour because we had the dogs with us. Lots of hiking trails. We didn’t have enough time to hike them all. Definitely bring bug spray. The white, tiny, sand flies (?) are worse than the mosquitos. The dogs were so bothered by them. Once we got a fire going, the sand flies and mosquitos were no longer an issue.

I arrived at around 10am. There was no one in the parking and rest area overlooking the "bad lands" formations. It was so peaceful, serene, and quiet, except for the sound of the wind and birds: I love it. I recommend this moment of solitude before descending into the valley to stop off at the visitor's centre and going on the hiking trails or driving the dirt road loop. I need to go again. The day I went was after a period of rain, so the hiking trails were somewhat slippery, especially on the sedimentary rock formations.
Omaa C. — Google review
Best place to rest and get away from the daily grind. It always feels like I've landed on another planet. The fact that cell connection is bad makes it even easier to disconnect. 😊
Gianetta Baril (Harp to Heart) — Google review
This was our second time here. We really love this park. One of my favorites!
The staff are friendly, and the facilities are clean. There is a small store, takeout counter, and fire wood for purchase.
Highlight is the scenery and hiking available, there is a lot to see. Dogs are welcome, on-leash.
Ricci De Cecco — Google review
We drove here from Drumheller to go on the fossil safari. We met the tour guide at the museum, boarded the bus, and drove to a protected site that is not open to the public to look for fossils. The landscape is otherworldly, it was as hot as the sun, and my kid still wants to be a palaeontologist - he LOVED it. Money and time well spent.
Jennifer Bee — Google review
Such a cool place!! Had a great time, only stayed 2 nights but we caught the meteor shower (august) there were lots of flies and wasps. Also there is a store and cafe with a decent menu. Breakfast options as well as lunch and dinners
Obsidian Graves — Google review
This is an amazing park to visit. The camping is great. It's family-friendly with a playground as well. There are on-site showers, and the bathrooms are all recently renovated and clean.
The views and surroundings are like nowhere else in Alberta. Such a gorgeous place.
Amanda — Google review
This place made me feel like a kid again, forgot how much I loved Dinasours. Can't wait to go back for more hiking trails . Pet friendly too.
OuZi — Google review
We signed up a hoodoo / dinosaur fossil photography tour. Indeed there are so many fossil pieces. This is indeed one of the most hoodoo viewing places and such close that you can take photos on every step of the way! And since this is a dinosaur park, we saw many small fossils of dinosaur bones, and other stuff. Do search online for similar tours, worth every minute and every cents. This tour is the only opportunity takes visitors into the restricted areas for much more to see and observe. 2023 is the first time this kind of tours open to the public, we are fortunate to be the first group going into there. Driver and tour guide (forgot her name) is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Learned so much from her. Very lucky.

One of my favorite places in not only Alberta but all of western Canada. A must see at least once. In the summer months the heat here can be relentless.
An amazing part of Alberta history, and an engineering feat and its time. It’s amazing that it was an aqueduct, but that the train ran on top of it was even more incredible. Also consider the time. And they were able to pull something like this off. Definitely worth a visit.
Darryl S — Google review
Quite an interesting place with some prairies related history to visit. Can walk alone the aqueduct or the dyke of the new aqueduct today. Interesting background and history around how the new aqueduct was built and how it worked around the railway tracks.
Tim Chu — Google review
Very beautiful place, walk here and take more photos. You cannot miss it.
Joo Alice — Google review
Amazing achievement and place to visit. Learn all about it from the displays. It's free to visit.
Chris Hylton — Google review
Historical interest especially to engineers. Gives detail on Eastern irrigation district development of land improvements. Strangely toilets shut May - Sept (surely the time when most visits are)
Geoffrey Matthews — Google review
This is a great place for a nice easy walk along the side of an aquaduct. You can learn about the structure and then stroll it's length and at the same time enjoy the surrounding countryside which is beautiful. We did it on a hot day and it was glorious sunshine and bug free walking. Well worth visiting especially for those who like to see how things work.
Terry M — Google review
When we ventured out to see this part of history I did not understand the size of it. It is quite amazing. There is a playground and picnic tables. Bathrooms where locked. Lots of signs to read.
Jada-Lynn Muncaster — Google review
Great view of the old concrete aqueduct (a National and Provincial Historic Site) with easy access from the highway. It was under a 10 minute drive from downtown Brooks and was worth checking out.
Harrison Sheremeta — Google review
Its ok there where no leaflets to help you along the self guided tour thou there where makes sign posts that hinted there ought to be. The road to the tour section down the way was also locked for some reason even thou we where there during open times everything was all locked up
Amber Saxer — Google review
Worth taking a quick detour off the TCH to check out this interesting historical site. A fabulous piece of engineering
The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is an open-air museum that tells the story of coal mining in Canada. Visitors can explore the mine and climb the last wooden tipple in Canada.
We visited Atlas Coal Mine in October. It turned out to be a beautiful day in terms of weather and the Mine/area. Even though tours and indoors of the buildings were finished/closed for the season, it is always worth a visit. You can still walk around the mine and the posted signs are worth a read. We thoroughly enjoyed the off season visit. We even took a drive through East Coulee itself. You may be pleasantly surprised at the history, It's a lovely little town. Super friendly residents, every single person we encountered had a wave and a smile ready! We visited Atlas Coal Mine off season last year, this year and I think it'll be a tradition as we go along. We always enjoy the area!
P. Graham — Google review
Interesting little place, some good old machinery to poke around if that's your thing. The "Underground" tour isn't all that though. For the cost you basically get to climb ten storeys through a sketchy wooden boardwalk then go about five metres into the entrance of a mine that's blocked up. The train ride is only about 400 metres too.
On the plus side, the guides were good. They delivered some interesting information and made some passable attempts at tour guide humour. All in all, it was an interesting few hours but probably oversold at the current prices.
Tom J — Google review
It's a very interesting place to look around. We're from UK touring around some of Alberta. There are 4 different things you can do, just walk around the lower area, book to go have a look at the mine, go on the train (it wasn't running when we were there) or book the operational tour. Whatever you do you will need enclosed shoes. The guides seem very helpful(we didn't do a tour). You can spend quite a while looking around. This, I think, caters more for adults than young children. We had a good time. One thing I would say is that it would enhance the venue if they incorporated a small café of some sort. This would bring in funds for the project and would help towards any restoration work that needs to be undertaken.
Fiona Scott — Google review
What a wonderful experience. We wanted a road trip from Edmonton and were looking for something different than the dinosaurs.
We spent about four hours here and were not disappointed.
We only registered for the train tour because that was all that was available. It was worth it for the experience of riding in a real old mine train and the information and stores from our guide . For the rest of our time we just wandered around on our own, talked with the guides who were free, and read the signs.
The area of the site that you can visit is not large but the tour guides are phenomenal. So much knowledge and passion for mining history in Alberta. Bob is a real gem. What a precious opportunity to learn about our past and understand a bit better how we got to where we are today.
And Sara, who gave us the train tour, was so great with the kids. She got them engaged and has a talent for speaking to all age levels respectfully.
Definitely recommend visiting this mine if you're in the area.
Millie Tpoen — Google review
Waste of time and money. Cost $53 for a family of five to walk around a boneyard of old broken down rail cars. There’s only three buildings to go in and not much to read to learn about the history. The only cool place was the wash house. The train would have been fun but it’s an added cost and only runs a few times a day so we missed that opportunity. Same with the guided tours. That’s the reason we went and there were non available. Don’t go.
Richard Krahn — Google review
Highly recommend this place! We did the mine portal tour followed by the train tour. Buy tickets in advance for fast check-in and to ensure you get a tour.
Our guide was amazing! Personable with the adults and kids. Informative and fun. Loved the addition of the helmets.
Those complaining about how you don't go into the mine tunnel very far need to read the website. The website has all the information you need and then some (kudos!)
Train ride was also good. Don't forget your water bottle!
Alicia Marie — Google review
Interesting place and some interesting history. We went there at 4 pm hoping to ride the train but they said we missed the last one. Also they were finished with the tours for the day. I recommend going in the early afternoon. But I still enjoyed what I could see and do there.
Robert Nelson — Google review
We had a lot of fun here. The train ride is a truly beautiful experience! A real train that was used to transport miners and haul coal. Although it was loud, it was a wonderful experience.
Very close to the Hoodoos, so we did both at the same time. Great experience.
Vahid Rashidi — Google review
From the moment we were greeted at the counter by Michael, we had an amazing experience. We decided to do the train ride tour (with Sarah) and the mine entrance tour (with Kale). The tours were both worth it. Bill used to be a miner and was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with as well.
Sarah operated the train and made the experience fun!
Kale worked with us on the mine entrance tour and took time to show us everything.
The prices for the admission and tours were incredibly reasonable and high value for the experience and service.
To top it off, we even encountered an endangered bow snake. (Don’t be put off, it was far removed from the trail and we observed from a distance. They’re not poisonous)
J B — Google review
What a place! As a homeschooling family we seek out these types of places,& this spot is filled with so much history, it's got info all around to explain the buildings, as well as tours that will keep you grasping for the next part! Prices are great, and it all goes back to this historical place! It's one of those places that we will enjoy going back to again & again!
Tasha Webster — Google review
Outdoor walk around the site is free!! We did not have time to do any of the tours you need to book in advance and cost a fee. We were able to see a lot and read info boards to learn a few things about the mine's history. They offer a variety of guided tours.
Brenda Duggan — Google review
Awesome historical place with lots to see and learn about. The drive to and from makes it worth the effort.
Terence — Google review
This was an interesting piece of history to tour, the train ride, while great for little ones, was nothing to write home about but still, you get to learn a bit about the train, go for a brief ride in a coal car and it's generally pretty fun.
The self-guided tour of the site was informative, there's signage to read with facts about the mine, the workers and the companies. I was most impressed with the Wash House personally. We would have loved to do the tour inside the mine but my son isn't 6 yet (min age) so something for another time.
only 1 complaint and that was that there only appears to be one bathroom on site at the entry, so with having a toddler with a small bladder it was a bit of a pain to go back to the site entry to take him and then go back to where we were in looking around. it would be nice if there was a washroom or a portapotty near the midpoint on the site. otherwise a great experience!
Gabrielle Gallagher — Google review
Kale the train driver was great. Informative and great involving the kids. Must add the train ride it’s worth it. We can’t wait to go back when the kids are older to do full tour. It’s already in the plans
Karen Hyndman — Google review
Simply amazing!! My family and I rode the mine train which was really fun and our motordriver Brandon was really knowledgeable and fun. We heard a lot of cool stories and interesting facts about the coal mine which is always fun. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun activity.
Akshay Palekar — Google review
The Atlas coal mine is a hidden gem. It is a must see when visiting Drumheller. Located around East Coulee, this tour goes in depth to the machinery, the daily lives, the logistics , and historic buildings that made coal mining in Drumheller. Our tour guide Charlie was an absolute gem to have for the two additional add on tours. They were informative, funny, professional, and witty. If you go on a tour and have Charlie as your guide, you definitely get your bang for your buck. Be prepared to dress according to the weather and to have water to stay hydrated as 80% of the tour is outside. Definitely a must-see!
Danise Simpelo — Google review
Amazing tours! Thank you Kale for your incredible enthusiasm, vast knowledge and infectious smile! You were the absolute highlight of the tours for sure! Bob was also absolutely incredible and full of knowledge about the site (as one should be if they worked there!! 😉)
We WILL be coming back just to revisit in the future. 100% recommend for anyone visiting Drumheller!!
Alex h — Google review
I went on the mine portal hike and tipple tour with a young man named Charlie as tour guide, extremely interesting to learn the history and see the coal plant and also with Charlie as guide made this experience worth the long ways out and cost he was very funny and full of information and left nothing behind on detail. Great place to walk around and explore and feel the past. Charlie made this place feel exciting but also explained the hazards and cautions around us very well, spectacular man and super caring and well at his job! I recommend for trips.
The Hoodoos Trail is a hiking trail in the Badlands of Drumheller, Alberta, that features otherworldly sandstone pillars with rock caps. The Hoodoos are synonymous with the Badlands, and there are some located only 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) from Drumheller!. The Hoodoos Trail is a short but scenic hike that will take you to one of the most photographed spots in the Badlands.
This place is awesome! The Hoodoos are easy to see from the road, and there's nice stairs that take you up closer. The hike/climb to the top is very steep and is all loose dirt so it's quite difficult, but the view from the top is beautiful
Ryan Braun — Google review
Amazing & very unique rock formations. Beautiful place to go for a quick stop. Both view from bottom & top are very nice. Hiking boots or shoes with good grip are recommended to climb up as there are loose sands & small gravels. Went on a Tuesday noon & was surprisingly busy. Only a couple of parking stalls were available.
Marie-Cel and Rico — Google review
The scale of the hoodoos looks massive from pictures, which actually is very small.
I expected this to be magnificent, but none the less, these badlands are wonderful anyway ! :)
If visiting during day, it gets very hot. So ensure applying good sunscreens, wear caps and protect yourself.
Consider hiking for better views from top.
It is worth a visit if visiting Drumhellar.
Devaki Kanade — Google review
Unique and beautiful landscape. We reached here around 7pm and there were very less people on the trail. There are steep climbs on this trail which can be hard but scenes from top are amazing.
Jyeshta Noronha — Google review
We visited this popular place since we visited the Royal Tyrell Museum, just 22 kms northwest.
Because of the natural erosion of rocks for hundreds of years due to wind and rain, this geographical wonder looks as if some architects have carved out the mountains and created beautiful designs and sculptures.
The sight of unbelievably alluring landscape which has a few sandstone pillars with rock caps and a variety of carvings is stunning; the phenomenal, imposing badlands are inviting and able to exhilarate people of all ages.
The metallic staircase is fairly easy to climb, and it provides magnificent alpine views of the eroded mountains.
For want of time, we could not explore the trails that lead to higher peaks, but I intend to visit once again to do so.
Parking and entry is free of cost at this wonderful, must visit tourist attraction in Drumheller, about 140 minute drive east of Calgary.
Bharat Shah — Google review
We arrived at the Calgary airport and drove straight to Drumheller. After supper we had energy and thought we’d check out the hoodoos. Easy drive from Drumheller, lots of parking available around sundown, a few mosquitoes (bring bug spray if you’re sensitive). It was a nice little walk around the site and very cool to see. My son (12) enjoyed it.
Jennifer Bee — Google review
I love this place. You can see the hoodoos from below or go up the stairs to climb around on them. Fun for everyone and okay for little ones. The sunsets here are also unreal!
Laura Wilson — Google review
Must do! Beautiful climbing spaces. Picturesque from every angle. If it's hot, go early. Wear hiking shoes if you want to get adventurous but runners are fine. Actual "Hoodoo" protected space is a bit underwhelming but immediate surrounding areas are fabulous! Kids & adults will love this place.
Tami — Google review
Nice little trail, easy climbing if you want to get to the top for a great view.
The terrain is slippery in some parts as the dirt is loose. Some shoes with good grip would make your descend easier.
At the bottom, there are bathrooms, ice cream shops, and a hand-made jewelry and stones shop.
Albina Yumankulova — Google review
Really cool views of the area of you are able to climb to the top of the lookout but make sure to wear proper footwear. The trail is very steep in places and it's all loose rock and sand so quite difficult at times to get traction. We took the longer way down the back of the "mountain" which was far safer, if slightly less exciting. Views all around were spectacular.
Lauren Grainger — Google review
This was amazing to see. We went later on a Sunday, and basically had the place to ourselves. The sun was just setting, and it was beautiful to see.
They have a walking trail through it, and you can climb around on different parts. It was like climbing around on one of nature's playgrounds. Really fun!
Amber LaGroix — Google review
Such a cool place the kids loved climbing everywhere! Even if you have mobility issues you can still enjoy . It was 2 $ per car to enter however when we went they weren't collecting not sure why. But very cool spot for photos! It is like the "mars" of Canada! Very hot on the hot days it is legit desert! There are 2 dood trcks in the parking lot 1 was open when we went for snowcones!
Emily Parizeau — Google review
Came to drumheller to go to the museum, but ended up coming here after as it wasn't far out of the way. There is a ton of parking and the attraction is easily accessible. It's also free to see. These are very interesting geologic formations. I'd recommend this place as long as it's not more than 15 minutes out of the way.
Aneel Maan — Google review
Very good spot. Curious to know it got created and looks like mushroom. It also has some small trail to climb up the mountain. We were short of time so had to skip but yes you can only enjoy the beauty if you walk up the stairs.else from ground it looks nothing special. Natures beauty for sure. We could see some special stones and fossils in those places. Try to search for fun
Girish V — Google review
Great little side stop. There some washrooms as well as souvenir and food booths in the parking lot. For those who climb all the way up, there is a less steep, easier route down which takes you down to the road level a few hundred meters away from the parking lot.
Chris S. — Google review
Spectacular phenomenon! Be very careful climbing; watched several people slip and almost fall and get injured from the top.
Has nice walkways and stairs to admire the Hoodoo sand formations.
Going for sunrise or sunset is a recommendation.
Tamara Heath — Google review
Excited to climb up to the top for breath-taking views. Do geared up with proper hiking shoes given the trail is steep and slippery. Climbing up is still manageable but it takes much longer to get down.
Little Journey — Google review
Great place. Nature at the level best. People .. as always: some of them kind, some of them without education.
Point 1: read the signs before hiking.
Point 2: take ALL your garbage back to the garbage bins.
Point 3: enjoy the nature by respecting it.
Point 4: be safe while hiking up and/down.
Enjoy this monument.
Catalin Doroftei — Google review
I'm still in awe about this place. The natural formation is really amazing, especially during this good weather. Going to historical places likes this, should never be miss!
Judith Polestico — Google review
Great natural land formations. Would recommend people to take a quick look around, but be careful if it’s muddy.
Laura Gardner — Google review
Amazing phenomenon! Climbing requires extreme caution; I've seen a number of people trip, nearly fall, and sustain injuries.
the Hoodoo sand formations can be admired from good pathways and steps.
It is advised to watch the sunrise or sunset.
Kanan Patel — Google review
Earlier this week we visited the Hoodoo Trail. Over the years the change in formations is noticeable and inevitable. Having the excellent stair case installed, bench and garbage disposal nearby on the trail is great and very practical. Although signs posted ask people to stay out of key areas, there is certainly evidence of human traffic in those spots as the snow showed. Another concern is the climbing and consequential wear and tear on a gift of nature. In an earlier visit during the summer, there were a few near disasters of people nearly slipping and doing the great tumble. Perhaps such activity needs to be banned to preserve the area.
We got a tour by a Blackfoot friend while the museum was still under renovation - it's going to be great once it opens to the public. Will definitely come back with more time to study more in depth.

Beautiful museum, 10/10 !
I took my young kids here and we had a lovely visit.
The staff were welcoming and kind, the facility is very high quality and the museum itself is fascinating and beautiful.
Definitely worth the drive!
Shelley — Google review
A beautiful spot to visit, with a great interpretive centre delivering a sad / sobering history about Canada's relations with the people of Treaty 7. It's not just old stories in the past! "History" is still happening to this day, and it's called politics! Thank you to our hosts and guides for taking the time with us.
Russell Edworthy — Google review
Beautiful building, natural surroundings, exhibits and well thought out displays and curation. We took the tour inside which gave us a locals perspective on the history and challenges of the Blackfoot and treaty 7. If you are not as familiar with the history it could be a little jarring to take it all in. I highly recommend the guided tour but you can easily work through the museum at your own pace if the history my be difficult for you and your family.

Are you interested in Indigenous culture and the issue of reconciliation? This is one of the more important education facilities in the country. Tour the facility, ask questions, have a meal in their restaurant. It is a life changing experience.

I had the privilege of volunteering for my child’s school field trip to the beautiful setting of the Blackfoot territory . Grant was a wonderful guide and storyteller educating us on the rich, sad history and present day of the people and the land. Looking forward to learning more when I come back. Thank you !

We very much loved this museum and will plan to come back when less restrictions are placed here.
If you plan to visit sometime soon, the visits can be done by appointment only now but we were able to get in on a very short notice. They don't accept cards at the moment, cash only for both the museum and the gift store so keep this in mind if plan to come. Otherwise, we absolutely unanimously agreed that it is the best museum showcasing indigenous culture in the province or maybe even in the whole Western Canada (we can only judge based on Alberta and Saskatchewan experiences at the moment).

Great experience and museum. Connecting with cultures and history at this important, significant, and great facility is definitely worth the trip out. The surrounding grounds in the valley could definitely benefit from some upkeep and additional signage to make some additional connections to the cultural and historical significance of this location.

We recently came to visit Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park and it was an amazing experience and incredible learning opportunity. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The museum itself is beautiful and the views are incredible. My children are 7 & 9 and they were really engaged with the interactive exhibits. I plan on coming back for a tour next time and I'm really looking forward to it. It is absolutely worth a visit.

Hats off to the Blackfoot Nation. This is a amazing piece of architecture in an absolutely stunning setting. The displays are well laid out and do a nice job of telling their important stories. We loved our visit!

A world-class facility rich in history and culture. The museum exhibits are remarkable. The landscape around the building is beautiful. This place is also great for hosting events, I attend a 2 day conference at the location.

Super. We loved Elder Adrian's tour. We felt honoured that he would take the time to tell us so many stories about his people.

I recently visited Blackfoot Crossing with some of my colleagues. This was our first visit. We had a guided tour with Grant. Great was PHENOMENAL. His story telling was so amazing. We were riveted with his stories of the signing of a treaty 7. He was wonderful. All the stuff were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The area outside is beautiful. Trails and paths all filled with the rich history of the people. You should spend a whole day here. I would highly recommend visiting and seeing the beautiful museum, theater and staff. It’s truly incredible.

Highly recommend the Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park for a business meeting and team event. The facility is very well organized and clean with all the amenities we needed for a team meeting. Our pre-booked event included time with a Knowledge Keeper, a tour of the museum, a hot lunch and snacks. We all learned more about the Blackfoot Confederacy and wished we had more time to explore the information and artefacts in the museum. Highly recommend!

Lovely experience camping there for 3 days with my class. The staff were absolutely exceptional human beings. Thank you so much!
Horseshoe Canyon offers a stunning prairie valley experience, with options to explore through trails, lookout points, and even helicopter tours. The area features a new staircase leading to the valley bottom, providing an opportunity to immerse in the badlands landscape and its intriguing geological history. Visitors can also hike the Hoodoos Trail or take a short drive to walk among striped hills and prairie lands. The unique scenery evokes a sense of being in a dinosaur place or an alien landscape.
Took my pup for almost 10km. Great scenery. Not my first trip here, definitely not my last and never gets old.

Loved being able to go down in the canyon, but many people were walking off the track... Please be mindful, nature is sensitive and the path is there for a reason. It's accessible with a stroller or to anybody able to walk down hundred of stairs

Nice place to explore. Amazing that you can walk all around.
Save some energy for the walk back up to get out.
Hiking can be as easy or as hard as you want to make it. Make sure you have a hat, water, and sensible shoes.

Amazing, Beautiful views of the badlands. The hike down & up is steep, wear good shoes but the trip to the bottom is worth it. Hike is great for the whole family, my littles (4, 7 & 17) all enjoyed it. You can explore to your own comfort level, it’s hot at the bottom so I would recommend water & a hat. Amazing spots at the bottom for a picnic, you can easily spend 3-4 hours at the bottom

Such a beautiful area to go for a hike! The landscape is so unique and interesting. The views are beautiful, especially with the stairs. It is a bit of a steep walk to get in and out of the canyon so I definitely recommend wearing good shoes and bringing water. There’s lots of parking and there were little to no people when I visited on a weekday. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

This place is stunning. Parking costs only $2. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and bring water.

Good views from the top of the canyon, right across the parking lot. $2 to park. It can get hot during summer with no shade except for one covered area with benches. You can hike further to a couple of viewing areas or all the way down into the canyon, if you do, don't forget to take water. Good for kids upto the first set of stairs leading up to the viewing deck ( see pictures)

This was so fun to explore and see! I did the entire loop and took my time to appreciate nature and this fascinating part of nature. Even with a decent amount of people here I still was able to enjoy this peacefully and at my own pace.

Winter is dead season so I was the only one there. Huge parking lot to park. But the shop was closed, which I think sells food and drink in summer. Amazing look out view tho. You can see the whole canyon there. And there are afew trails to go down if you like.

Great place for easy hiking, and gives out a magnificent views over the canyon! It was a little smoky when I went, but it was still unbelievable!
If you want to venture into the canyon, make sure to bring water and appropriate shoes!

Great trail to hike, easily a fan favourite spot to check out if you're in Calgary area. I would highly recommend seeing it at the night given the chance, if possible. The stars are immaculate with little to no light pollution. Would love to see it again. It was amazing, and I would gladly tell people to visit here if they've got the chance to.

Had a beautiful day trip to the canyon and enjoyed a walk about with great weather that day. New improvement have been made for lookout decks and safe entrance into the canyon.
Upon arrival was surprised to learn $2 parking fee for future improvements and maintenance. They are definitely using the fee to better the area for visitors.
There is a new campground onsite with a convenience store. Had purchased ice cream and played some corn hole .

Will be back next year to spend more time hiking in the canyon. $2.00 charge for parking now. It's a stunning place, just ask Clint Eastwood, he filmed a part of "Unforgiven" here. Not a lot of shade here so dress appropriately and bring lots of water to drink if your there in the summer.

Amazing nature of Canada
According to the description at the sign, the age of this canyon is 1-2million year younger than hoodoos in drumheller.
This canyon may not look magnificent as other Canadian nature.
Scenic and good place to take photos here

Great little hike/walk. Just one hour away from Calgary. Surprising no one was there today, we started early. We were just casually walking with our dog, couple of great lookout points. Saw couple of prairie dogs, some birds. Peace, calmness and tranquility is amazing!

A fantastic hike, it was a like being in a time machine. The different layers of sediment told a story of the past few million years. Definitely a great family experience. Make sure to take plenty of water with you, it has its own micro climate and was very hot when we were there.

A great hike through time. There are several lookouts to the canyon and you can hike in the canyon itself. The main path is short and should take about 1 hour but you can explore further in the canyon and "choose your own adventure".

Very unique & beautiful scenery throughout. It really feels like a dinosaur place or an alien landscape! It’s an easy hike. The only moderate part is at entrance to get down to the canyons so you need good hiking boots or shoes for this. Trails are very spacious. You can walk around and see the whole place in about an hour but we stayed for about 2 hours to climb as much canyons as we could to have better views. Went on Monday & it wasn’t busy. Lots of parking with washroom. Biking is not allowed. Bring plenty of water as it gets really hot.

Quaint performing arts venue offering popular musicals & plays, plus a homestyle buffet.
Buffet meal was very delicious, with many choices, pecan pie was 😋. Delicious. The stage performance Grace and Glory was performed very well. Highly recommend it. Rosebud is a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle. Bed and breakfast available and the shops offer some great buys.

Rosebud plays have been a family tradition for many years and never has it been a disappointment. The buffet served beforehand is always quality with friendly servers and wonderful, fun live music. The plays themselves are beautifully inspired and never fail to leave a lasting impression. Be wary of the drive during snow days but I will say, it's always worth the drive.

Exceptional Experience. We stayed in the town of Rosebud overnight for the Wednesday lunch Dinner Theatre. The lunch buffet was large & fresh, healthy choices, excellent variety. When done you can stroll through town & check out the number of Art Galleries & Museum there! The Opera House is where the Play is at; across the street. It was great! Will come again in a few months!

Great experience. Not a bad drive from Calgary, went for a Friday lunch show. Unique experience that I'll remember for a while.
Buffet was large, plenty of options. Roast beef, Turkey, fish, chicken, 4-5 different salads, a few different dessert options also.
The show was pretty good! Watched a Christmas Carol. There was only one actor who told the whole story, but he was really good!
The theater is two seats, empty two seats barricaded off, two seats the whole way through right now. I think there was 70-80 people for the Friday lunch show. Good crowd, many retirees there. Worth going to visit!

My Mother and I attended the theater this afternoon. Our experience started with a peak into the store called "The Merry Market". They have a lovely selection of gift ware. My Mom bought a cool puzzel. We got to the lobby just in time for them to seat us at the buffet. The food was delicious and high quality, with a good variety of offerings. The atmosphere was charming and quaint. After lunch we stopped in at Kith and Kin, a little gift shop which had fun wares and then crossed the street to the sweet little museum which was run by a lovely, knowledgeable volunteer. There were some really cool old specimens. Finally it was time to go to the play. We saw "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. " It was adapted to be played by two actors. The acting was strong and the play was entertaining throughout. We will definitely be back to Rosebud again! Totally worth the drive.

My husband and I have a tradition of coming to the Rosebud dinner and theatre each Christmas! The food is always delicious, more than enough choices in both meal and dessert! I love how they do themed drinks according to the show that's being presented! Also the live music while eating is something I really love!
This year's show "All is Calm" was truly breathtaking! These men did a FANTASTIC job! The singing was amazing! The heart. The humor. Loved every moment of it!

Saw the play Grace and Glory...one of the best plays I've seen. A dark play about end of life that I'll think about for a long time to come. The dinner buffet has a smaller selection but very well done. The theater is comfortable and nicely laid out. No bad seats in the place. Rosebud is an interesting community and if you like live theater, should be on your list of places to visit.

We took our 6 adult children and spouses plus 9 grandkids, ages 5 to 17 . They all loved it, remembering the story that was told them many times over as they grew up. Rosebud is such a GEM. My family have been customers for years. I'd recommend this experience to ANYBODY!! We usually go to the matinees and the buffet is exceptional. Following the buffet we LOVE browsing their gift store (they have a great selection of puzzles) and then we cross the street to the OPERA HOUSE THEATRE. Rosebud ALWAYS put on FABULOUS performances. The hamlet of Rosebud itself is a sweet destination with great character - the small museum across from the Mercantile is an experience as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking the time for a ROSEBUD THEATRE EXPERIENCE!!

Great little town. Went to the afternoon theater, and had the lunch buffet. The buffet was plentiful and this talented young woman played a few songs on her guitar, she was very good. The play was awesome, and the actors were very talented. Went for a walk through town and was amazed at how western everything in town looked. The hospitality is above and beyond. The staff there, all had a smile. Very informative and fun place to visit. I would recommend this place to everyone to go and experience it at least once.

Delightful! Excellent buffet lunch with chicken, shrimp, roast beef with all the fixings. Several side plates and amazing deserts! Banjo singers to entertain while we were eating. The theatre was very comfortable! The show “ tomatoes tried to kill me but banjos saved my life” was terrific! Storytelling and banjo music coupled with laughter and tears. Uplifting message - inspirational!

We attended the All is Calm: Christmas Truce of 1914 show on December 23rd. The meal was delicious! The roast beef was my personal favourite. The one and only issue in hindsight was we felt quite sleepy after the large meal. I encourage patrons to visit the cafe for an espresso to perk yourself up.
The harmonies and acapella style music were magnificent!
This was a fun way to celebrate Christmas with my husband's family.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed last night's performance of the musical the Sound of Music! It was our first time coming to Rosebud and i had heard great things about the experience as i had an old friend who was a former student of the theatre school and i knew one day i would make my way to a show! My son has been involved in musical theatre and music in general for 5 serious years now and i thought now was the perfect time and it didn't hurt that you were putting on the famous 'Sound of Music'! The whole evening was fantastic! The buffet was delicious from the many salads to the scrumptious mains and of course the desserts! Delectable is an understatement!! The musical itself was phenomenal! The nunes harmony ringing throughout the theatre and the little ones cuteness! The leads were flawless and there voices combined with the unique dual piano accompaniment filled the theatre with beautiful sound!! We left feeling joyful and wanting more and to me that is what it's all about! It was very nice to have the open question period for the audience after the musical as well!
The only concern was at the very end as we were about to leave town and we were sitting in the car reflecting on the evening. A local woman who's house we were parked in front of decided to come out and question us on why we were parked there? She rudely interrogated us and didn't believe us that we were there for the musical. It almost ruined the night but thankfully I was able to keep my cool and remember the amazing night we had! My suggestion to the Rosebud Theatre & School would be to have a better parking system with proper signs and compliance from the local town folk especially on the late nights!
Thanks again for the fantastic dinner and show!! Memories were made and will be cherished between my son and I!! I thank you for that!

The Vulcan Tourism & Trek Centre is a must-visit destination, whether or not you're a Star Trek enthusiast. The center features carefully curated displays and an impressive collection of memorabilia spanning multiple generations of the iconic series. Visitors can explore exhibits highlighting women's roles in space and even sit in the Captain's chair. The knowledgeable and passionate staff add to the experience, while the well-maintained visitor center boasts an array of signed items and unique merchandise for purchase.
Took my parents and son to visit and it was fantastic! The staff member working was very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about Star Trek! The visitor centre was very well kept and had an impressive amount of memorabilia. Lots of items signed by stars and fun items for purchase. Drove through town and saw a large mural featuring some Star Trek cast. The streets lights were little ships! Definitely recommend stopping in Vulcan!

This was an amazing place to check out, even if you aren't a Star Trek fan. The curators put a lot of care and effort into the displays and have a lot of neat memorabilia.
There is a nice section highlighting women's roles in space which was thoughtfully crafted.
There is multiple generations of Star Trek stuff to entice any fan into visiting. My kids hadn't heard of Star Trek before but loved the displays and especially the Captain's chair.
This stop far exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the people who made it such a great experience.

Stop on by and see over a half century of Star Trek merch. It brought back a lot of memories to see items from my youth and to marvel at how much Trek is out there. There's a nice tribute now to Nichelle Nichols. A library of books is available to browse and you can take home your favs for a donation. The bathrooms were good. Must visit for Star Trek lovers! They have a lot of original Star Trek content up to the Kelvin timeline movies, but nothing with any of the new Star Trek franchises from Discovery on. Also lots of Town of Vulcan Star Trek themed merch.
You can get a green screen image printed with you on the bridge up to 45 min before they close.
Love that there is also a short real-history display of the town.
The town also hosts Vul-Con, so I will have to come back!
Aspen Crossing is a unique tourist destination that offers train tours with themed events such as train robberies and Sunday brunch. In addition to the exciting train excursions, guests can also enjoy camping in their RV or tent, or stay in a luxury train caboose for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. The campground is available year-round and features family-friendly amenities like a flower garden, pigpen, chicken coop, and lagoon.
Honestly the best place ever to camp! I don't know if I can put it into words .. we came last year and we were on the new side which is absolutely beautiful! And super close to the swimming area and massive store. Those alone blew my mind. Came camping tonight with an incredible spot on the original side and the trees and spacing is so nice! Also the bathrooms are the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen at a campground.. you could basically eat off the floor. This campground is a true gem. I want to keep it all to myself but I know other campers will appreciate this amazing set up. There's something for everyone to do and it's so well kept. I'd give it 100 stars if I could.

The Polar Express has long been a beloved family tradition in our family, but not anymore. We were so disappointed by our experience tonight. It seems to have gone down hill and the cut backs on staffing really detracted from the experience. The train was an hour late, which is a big deal when you have little kids. They tell you to come 45 minutes early in the confirmation email so many families were stuck waiting for nearly two hours. The waiters used to put on a fun show when they served the hot chocolate but not tonight; we had 2 waiters frantically trying to pour hot chocolate for the entire train car. They play the story over the speaker but it was so quiet, no one realized it was even playing and despite trying to listen, couldn’t. I asked if the volume could be turned up so the guests could hear, this did not happen. The windows were completely frozen over so you couldn’t see out the car. Not Aspen Crossing’s fault, however, they came and handed out window scrapers AFTER the train left the North Pole and we were on our return home. Would have been nice if they had the foresight to do this at the start of the ride so the kids could have seen the scenes along the way and Santa and the elves at the North Pole. My kids walked out tonight not wanting to go back next year. I’m so disappointed writing this review because I have always loved and recommended the Polar Express experience, but I won’t be doing that anymore. I feel like it is now completely over priced for what they are providing.

This is a 5 star campsite! The amenities are amazing - clean bathrooms, fully stocked store, restaurant, ice cream and you can get it all delivered right to your site. The prices are completely reasonable and I loved the booze selection + local food options for purchase (meats, fresh baked bread).
The parks are great, there’s a swimming lagoon and beach, also a super fun scavenger hunt for the kids.
The staff is amazing too. They delivered ice and fire wood w no delivery charge.
We did the twilight train tour on Friday night. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Definitely not a high end fancy experience, it’s rustic but still awesome. The live musician in the bar car was great, as well as the history lessons on the area. The kids loved it, the adults danced and drank and watched a prairie. sunset.
It was cute sitting out at our campsite watching the Saturday night train robbery show.
Can’t wait to go back. I hope they keep up this 5 star experience

This place has been on my bucket list and did not disappoint! SUPER friendly staff - we checked out both stores, did the retro train ride and stayed in the Northern Alberta Caboose. Got some goodies at the store, the train ride was so fun, loved the history speaker in between meals. Food was so yummy (lick your plate clean from that sauce on the chicken) and the disco party rocked. Our Caboose was very very cool! We had a big deck, full beds for 2 couples and they were really comfortable, we had a fire and enjoyed good company. This also seems like a great spot for kids, heard lots of laughter and friendships being made.

Great camp. We were in the Thornhill loop and the site were very spacious. The trees are still growing but since you are somehow far from your neighborhood it wasn't a big issue for us. Cleanest showers and toilet I have since in my few years of camping.
The pond was nice too but with the summer heat and being fully packed on July long weekend the beach is not big enough to accommodate. Could extend the beach all around the pond for more space. Stepping on rocks coming out of water is not fun.
Overall will recommend.

December 1st 2023 I took my 2 grand children and their mother on the polar express! Every minute of one full hour was full of activities, fun and magic! There were Elves of all sizes and Billy from the movie and Santa of course who brought everyone a Christmas magic bell! The chef's poured perfect hot chocolate(you keep the great mug) & did the dance just like in the movie. You could see santa's village in the north pole along the waybwith fire works, and it was truly magical. Don't tell the children anything that will happen. Let them experience. My 8 year old grandson said; "that is the most fun thing I've ever done in my life ❤️."
Totally worth the price. Highly recommend the first ride at 430 & Go Early!
Have a magical Christmas 🎄 ✨️

Had a great time on the Train of Terror last night. Actors where great, costumes where top notch and there where plenty of legit scares. The actors being allowed to grab and touch you added a level of immersion rarely found in haunted houses around here. Despite being able to grab you, the actors where still incredibly respectful.
This was a great time and I can't wait to come back next year!

My husband and I have wanted to check out the Train of Terror for years now and kept putting it off, I’m glad we finally decided to do it. We had so much fun! I had the biggest smile on my face (nervous laughter lol) but the actors definitely got me a few times haha. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them being able to touch you but it heightened the experience and I ended up being glad they could. If you enjoy a good scare then this is the place to go. Left super impressed and enjoyed getting a little train ride out of it too.

Went last night for the second time to ride the polar express. Kids had a blast riding the train. Definitely worth the 45 mins drive. will do it again next year
It’s really nice place for visiting with family. You can feed the turtles, buy some flowers or trees for your garden. I totally recommend the bakery , they bake the fresh bread , pizza in the own . Also coffee was really good . And friendly stuff despite so busy day .

I visited this place with my family and it is amazing. Good parking lot area. All the farm products look fresh and very well selected. The restaurant inside is very good, it offers Mexican food and you can enjoy its flavors. The service was kind and gentle. however, as we arrived at 11:30 am we were on a waiting list for 1h +. So, it's a good idea to go there first to book lunch, continue to visit the farm and come back. I recommend it for the whole family, easy to walk. Pets are not accepted on site.

For years now we've got by the signs on the highway, thinking to ourselves "one of these days we'll have to go pick Saskatoon berries there."
This year, we finally made it there, for the summer solstice fair.
What a pleasant surprise!
Saskatoon farm is actually a hybrid arts and crafts market, plant nursery, fruits & vegetables farm/market, cowboy themed park. And during the solstice market it was filled merchants.
And to Crown it all, the view from The Cliff at the end of The village main street was beautiful.

The Christmas market was so fun! This was my first time visiting the Saskatoon Farm and what a great first experience! There were so many amazing vendors, such yummy food and great gifts (treat yourself too!) - truly something for everyone. Santa and Mrs. Claus were there, taking photos and bringing cheer. It was quite busy but the staff were very helping directing cars in the parking lots so we moved through quickly. We also bought our tickets in advance and downloaded them beforehand. Highly recommend - already looking forward to next year!

We come here several times a year. We love their food, their garden, the views, their ice cream, their veggies. They have a giant chess set that my kid loves. We have so many nice pictures and memories from here. A must go for the whole family.

Went for a drive out to the Saskatoon farm and the Christmas Market was on. Beautiful day for it. We lined up for tickets and family in front of us had a free ticket and gave it to my hubby so me such a awesome gesture!! It only cost $8.00 for adults. It wasn't overcrowded and we walked comfortably through the greenhouses. Lots of vendors price points varied. Very enjoyable. Parking was ok found a spot not too far from the entrance.

I went to the annual Spring market at the Saskatoon Farm over the weekend. The event was great. I purchased my $5 ticket in advance and so getting in was simple and straight forward. Inside the place was bustling with lots of people and vendors. I had lunch with my wife and friend at the on-site restaurant. Getting in took a while due to how busy it was (they provided a buzzer so I didn’t need to wait close by.) But once inside the service and food were top notch. The quiche was especially good and I’d highly recommend it. After lunch I spent time wondering the grounds, enjoying the interesting sights and sounds. In addition to the vendors they also had pens that included baby bunnies, ducks, and turtles. I would highly recommend Saskatoon Farm for anyone looking for a fun family adventure. I will definitely be going back.

We went for brunch.
There was a wait so we had a drink on the patio.
The food was good. Not as "homemade" as I'd have liked, but tasty.
The sangria was good, but I felt the beer selection could have been better. But kudos for local selections!
The service was outstanding.
Overall, it was good value for the money and well worth the trip.
We will definately return.

Such a great spot to visit with beautiful expansive views! We especially love the Fall decor and the farm animals. The restaurant has good value items. The sour dough bread and bakery items are yummy!

I was not sure what to expect but this place turned out to be quite amazing! It was the first time attending the spring market and there were plenty of vendors, food stalls and other activities to do. My suggestion for the next event is to provide something like a pamphlet/brochure with map to show what activities/facilities are located where!

Fun place for a day of activities. There’s quite a few things to check out here. Including the berry picking, the green houses, restaurant, cafe, and the nice scenery in general. I would not recommend coming when it’s a sunny 25+ degree day because you’ll get overheated pretty quick if you plan on picking the berries. Was a fun time overall, the drinks in the cafeteria style building is questionable. But the Saskatoon pies in the bakery are delicious.
It was $2 per person for berry picking and each bucket is $15 regardless of weight. If you’re a family, you can combine everything into a single bucket as well.

My family and I absolutely love this place, from having a great restaurant, delicious pastries, perfect produce, a variety of plants/trees, great views and lots more. We typically go on the weekend to have breakfast at the restaurant or just the pastries, then pick up some produce, walk around, let our little one feed the bunnies, and have a coffee. My wife says this is one of her favorite places in all of Calgary, and yes this is not Calgary but close enough. I love supporting a local business like this that is so unique and has lots of great things to offer. We are loyal customers and we will continue visiting throughout the year for all the events they have.

Went here in a group of 4 for Saturday lunch and farm experience. It’s a great place if you’re looking to spend a bright sunny day in farm and have a feast alongside. There was a 30 minute waiting for table but you could very much spend that time roaming around, checking out their bakery, shops and farmers market. In food, we tried Yam fries, Onion rings, Vegetarian tacos, burrito and enchiladas. Out of these, I would recommend Yam fries, enchiladas and tacos. Burrito got soggy with its filling, so it was not as enjoyable as others. Overall a good experience, however one-time.

I made a stop here today while on my vacation from the states and what a delightful place this is! Everything was so beautiful, the restaurant has excellent food and the Saskatoon pie is heavenly! Whoever was working the counter when I checked out today with the pie, thank you! She was such a sweet and friendly woman and I appreciated that. I will definitely make another stop here before I go home to take some stuff back with me! Highly recommend everyone check out this gem in the Foothills!

The Saskatoon Farm truly is a hidden gem nestled just off the highway. It encompasses a charming restaurant, a delightful bakery, and a sprawling farmers market. During our visit, we had the pleasure of exploring the diverse offerings, which included a pack of frozen waffles, delectable muffins, and a bounty of fresh produce including succulent blueberries and cherries. The abundance of vegetables was truly impressive.
When the weather is on your side, taking a leisurely stroll around the grounds makes for a wonderful afternoon activity. The restaurant primarily boasts an array of mouthwatering Mexican dishes, peppered with a few American options. Our taste buds were treated to a delightful symphony of flavors, and the beverages were equally delightful. Although it's worth noting that the drinks arrived lukewarm without ice. If you prefer a chilled drink, I recommend requesting some ice to enhance your experience.
Beyond the culinary delights, Saskatoon Farm is a multifaceted establishment that combines the allure of an arts and crafts market, a plant nursery, a farm market overflowing with fresh fruits and vegetables, and even a charming cowboy-themed park. Our visit coincided with the solstice market, where merchants gathered to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
In sum, Saskatoon Farm is a true gem that pleasantly surprised us with its multifarious offerings. Whether you're seeking delectable treats, a leisurely stroll, or an eclectic market experience, this is the perfect destination to satiate your senses and enjoy a great day out

My family have been coming here for the past few years... without me! Today, I finally got to do so. It reminds me of Davidson farm in b.c. but a smaller one. I think I like this better because it's more intimate. All the old stuff they got on displays just appeals to me.
I could imagine how festive it is during summer and Christmas time.

Okotoks Erratic, located in the town of Okotoks, is a massive glacial boulder that weighs around 16,500 tonnes and stands at 9 meters tall. It is believed to have been left by glacial activity thousands of years ago and is considered a remarkable sight and an iconic landmark of Okotoks. The rock landed in its current location during a rockslide between 10,000 to 30,000 years ago.
Good pit stop place. Nice short walk around an impressive rock which seems very out of place at first, until you read the fascinating story of how it arrived from the Jasper area thousands of years ago. Washrooms are clean.

In the middle of a plain, so out of place yet so beautifully in place. There are information boards about how it got there all the way from Jasper! What to do within half an hour of Calgary❓
If you pass by this town, you must come and touch the magical flying rock of the Rocky Mountains~
✔️ Although Okotoks Erratic is a small attraction, this rare giant rock is believed to be left by glacial activity thousands of years ago, making it a remarkable sight and a iconic landmark of Okotoks❗️
✔️ Okotoks Erratic is a massive glacial boulder, towering at 9 meters and weighing 16,500 tons, resembling a mini version of the Stonehenge!
✔️ "Prairie Dog Haven": It's full of cute prairie dogs 🐿️, just like the real-life version of the "Whack-a-Mole" game we played in the park as kids. They pop out of their burrows, munch on food, and stand up to watch the crowd, super adorable 😍
✔️ "Hiking Adventure": You can head to the Big Rock Trail 🏞️, meandering along the river's edge. Along the way, you'll enjoy expansive views of the prairie and even see a small horse ranch 🐎.

The Calgary Zoo is a large zoo located in the heart of the city. It is home to a variety of animals, including some endangered and rare species. The zoo also has a variety of play areas for children, as well as keeper talks throughout the day. Springtime is a popular time to visit because new animals are born!
Best place to spend a day inside the city. I liked watching penguins the most. It was like you are in a entirely different world. Watching bear accumulating leaves for making himself warm was an encouraging experience. Lions were all sleeping but it was very near to the watch glass as it was just centimeters apart. Watching gorillas playing each other was another wonderful experience. The tropical climate setting for the tropical animals is really amazing. Overall really nice experience 😎

Fantastic place to spend some beautiful times with family and see varieties of animals. They divided the zoo in different areas: Canadian, African, Asian, Prehistoric (which is really nice) based on the animal categories. Specially, the penguin place is really awesome. African rain forest is also great. Those who are interested in dinosaurs, the Prehistoric area is a must visit. Ample of parking on the north and west side of the zoo. The north parking lot is divided into three lots: A, B, and C. I think lot B is closest to the entrance. However, the north lot has a fixed daily rate of CAD 12 (which is good for people who plan to spend whole day, might not worth for people who spend only few hours). The west lot charges hourly rate, which might be good for people for short visit.

This was a really enjoyable experience. Great habitats for all the different animals, and a great variety. The gardens and butterfly house were exceptional too. We would have paid to see them on their own. So much shade, plenty of places to eat or picnic, many playgrounds and kid friendly exhibits. We caught the train from downtown. Very easy and quick.

Superbly variety of special animals in this zoo, it’s really worth to visit at least once. 👌
Entry ticket 🎟️ charges is $35 per person. Parking 🅿️ 🚙 charge is $13 for whole day.
Penguins 🐧 section is the best one ☝️
Usually 4-5 hrs can be spent here but full day is preferable. My kid really like it.

I grew up going to the zoo with my grandparents and family.
Over 15 years since I've been and the charm hasn't changed at all. All the expansions and additional exhibits are amazing, interactive and informative.
Having staff at each exhibit helps keep the flow of strollers moving ;) (I was a part of that parade)
But the staff are also keen to answer questions and engage with visitors.
Lots of additional activities to do as well. Ferris wheel, parks and of course the beautiful green spaces and gardens.
Will be back soon!

We really enjoyed the walk through. I feel the animals are a little laid back at this time of year. Though it was reasonably quiet still on a busy day. The parks are a fun time for the kids. Beautiful place, it will be great to have more spaces for animals. Like open areas for Africa. The penguins were great! The dinosaurs are great! They are renovating the Canadian part. Now… all the workers have megaphones and sometimes they are using them too much. Things that they can tell you personally they use de megaphone. I put 4 stars because of this. Thanks!

Super fun for both kids and adults. The animals are well taken care of. My favourite part was the butterfly enclosure! There were so many gorgeous butterflies all throughout the conservatory garden ranging from different stages of life.

My wife and I have had longtime membership to this excellent venue. We see zoo's in every city and country that we visit. Calgary is amongst the very best. Our last visit inspired a month trip to Madagascar 🇲🇬 where we saw many Lemur species and chameleon that are unique to this amazing country. I've selected a few of our Madagascar pictures. Unfortunately many exhibits and buildings are closed due to Avian flu precautions. This was a true lazy Sunday. Not many animals moving around. Through no fault of the zoo itself, this was a lackluster experience. Any area with birds were closed. Gorilla and Otter pavilions closed. It's been years since I had been to this zoo and if seemed that many animals were gone and it was not as great as I remembered. This zoo used to rival Toronto zoo for the overall experience. It has Fallen backwards in recent years.

Now once you are in the zoo you will enjoy every minute here. Zoo keepers are there to help you with the path to follow but still having a map with you is a must. Enjoy nature and the animals. The zoo was beautiful with lots of animals. The Dorothy garden was especially very beautiful. Make sure you have an entire day to spend here as the zoo is pretty big with lots of walking.
We went there at 9am in the morning on Heritage day and it was just beginning to get crowded, so we were able to view a lot the animals relatively without much crowds. But by the time it was mid day there were a lot more people there, so make sure you plan accordingly.
Overall this was an amazing experience and I am waiting to go back here once again.

One of the best places to visit in the city, and easily one of the premier zoos in North America ( I would know, I have visited more than 50 of them.)
Lots of parking, great membership value, excellent food/dining options, huge repeatability factor with a different and new experience each time.
There are parts that are certainly under utilized and feeling aged/run down (namely as of Nov 2023 the Asia section), and the dinosaur area seems like a weird space filler that could be better served with real animals, but other regions are stellar.
The 2 big Africa Houses are simply fantastic, as is the penguin house, and the brilliant Wild Canada section. At the time of writing this review, there will even be polar bears in just two weeks.
In short, this zoo is great all year around, for all ages, and I’d highly recommend visiting

So it's a good zoo. It's got many animals that all look well cared for. They look like they really try their best with them and that to me is paramount when visiting a zoo or Aquarium. I downgraded the rating because it's really expensive in my opinion. Although much of the exhibit isn't running or viewable at this time of year. It makes sense why it's not operating as it's winter and cold. It happened to be warm when we went. We spent 4 hours there and still didn't get through everything though. It is a large zoo. You can save a couple dollars if you buy online and in advance.

I love what they have done to the zoo, expanding the outdoor wild animal area with a beautiful large area for the polar bears, and a beautiful large indoor and out for the different penguins.
There is a separate light show after 5 pm this time of year for Christmas that looked like it would have been beautiful to see if I had more time.
I definitely would purchase a year pass if I lived here.
All construction is completed and the garden areas are now just two instead of the 4 or 5 areas they used to have.

This is one of the best zoos I have been to. All of the animals looked very healthy and had outstanding enclosures. Most of the animals were in their regular enclosures, even in March. The land of lemurs was unfortunately closed due to the cold weather. The indoor portions of the zoo were very cool (or should I say hot) and immersed us in the natural environment of the animals. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I will definitely be visiting again.

My partner and I visited to see the Polar Bears and also enjoy the Christmas lights. It was as calm as usual though more exciting this time around with new animals. I loved the Mountain Goat (they sure looked stubborn as hell)😊
Unfortunately there wasn't anything much to see in the Asian axis and I wonder what the space is actually for.
Overall, it's great for anyone seeking to refresh by walking and learning a bit more about the wonderful creatures we have around us.

My love for animals takes me to popular zoo visits very often 🤩 Honestly, not a huge supporter of caging the wildlife but they are good source of inspiration, information and entertainment for all ages. Canada’s second largest animal zoo was quite enjoyable! Despite the cold late December visit, zoo attracted 8k visitors which is a popular summer number! My favorites were penguins, chimpanzees, polar bear, tiger and Hippo 😍 the zoo has more than 200 species and they are very well kept.
Didn’t realize how I spent the whole day visiting variety of animals, aviaries and butterfly sanctuary. Grabbed a quick snack at the zoo cafeteria (their revenue supports the zoo animals 🙏) and strolled through whole zoo in Christmas lights and decorations for another couple hours! Mesmerized by lightning and music, didn’t feel an inch of cold! Could also plan for a bubble/glass gazebo dinner in advance for a romantic dinner ✨
A Must to do list in Calgary and earn your share of memories ☺️👍

We got a lot of snow today in Calgary and the zoo was a good choice for entertainment. We read it is the second largest zoo in Canada. We went to see the polar bears and we were not disappointed. What majestic creatures. A nicely laid out zoo with clear signage in the zoo itself. We got a membership each and have been back twice, and still haven't seen the whole zoo. The membership is a great value and the zoo itself is excellent.

The Calgary Stampede is an annual rodeo that features cowboy-style entertainment and exhibits. It is a popular event with over a million people attending each year.
We went to the Stampede last summer (2021) and we had an Amazing time! I'll start with the Fireworks...the amazing Fireworks, just, when we thought the fireworks were over...they would start again :) Definitely the most wonderful fireworks display I'd ever seen.
The show itself was very organized, even, with such a large area, we never really felt lost because of the abundance of information available. Well done Stampede organizers.

Having lived out here for 12 years I’ve only been to Stampede twice, with last week on Friday parade day being one of those. After two long years of the pandemic, it was nice to feel the energy and the excitement, and the rhythm of the music at the stampede grounds. It can get overly crowded for sure and unfortunately there’s always the ones that don’t know how to behave properly, but mostly overall people were having a good time. That’s what it should be about. I have to leave one star off because I don’t agree with the use of animals in entertainment, and inevitably there are always animals that get killed at this event which is an aspect I detest.

We didn't attend any of the main shows but we explored the other attractions and the food. It was loads of fun! After two years of pandemic isolation, it was really nice to be in this festive atmosphere surrounded by people enjoying themselves.
One of the main highlights was the Elbow River Camp of the Indigenous people of the region. It was absolutely fantastic! We attended a dance performance there and at the same time learned more about their culture, traditions, and ceremonies. We also ate bannock with jam, which is a heavy but tasty snack. Definitely going to come back again next year!

One must go to this stampede at least once if not every time. My favourite were the motorcycle stunts featured on a particular evening that I could not shoot but it was thrilling. Display by the Canadian army is also my favourite.
There is something for everyone. Food , rides, children rides, face painting, betting, gambling, clubbing , alcohol, performing arts, live music and the high list spectacular fireworks.
It’s very very busy during Calgary stampede but the joy is sometimes in the crowd n rush. Still the management of such a massive scale event is great. Everything flows smoothly. Buy tickets at the gate or online and you are zoomed into the GM huge grounds . Oh I forgot to mention the horse show. I missed it but I was happy just to see the stables. Must go place

Near perfect performances created champions that the crowd roared for.
The midway is always a gong show. Crazy numbers of people. All the lineups you could ever want to wait in. And the food, you'll be glad you tried it but wish you didn't.
The livestock and the shows and everything that stampede brings to Calgary is world class.
And the Coke stage is always a must.
Took in Mother Mother this year and it was just an awesome show.
Plenty of people hate on the Stampede because it makes the city a little crazy with traffic, people and events, but it's really truly something to experience.

The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth and rightly so lives up to its expectations each & every year we visit this place! One cannot get enough of the place in a day. Wish it would last more than 10 days in a year!
On average 1.0M people visit the event each year from as far as Far East, Middle East, Europe and United States and from other parts of our great country Canada 🇨🇦

Rodeo was alot of fun! Going as a family you need 2 days at the stampede to really enjoy everything the park has to offer. ( rides, agriculture arena, dog show and entertainment, food, rodeo, fireworks, evening shows)
We had a great time and will be back next year!
** Buy the day pass not stamps!! or rides will cost you a fortune.

Five stars for the rodeo! Absolutely fantastic!
The rest....the kids entertainment is crammed in a little corner. So many children and parents waiting to see Paw Patrol and they have the tiniest little stage and seating area. They can't join in or even see half the time. Waited 1.5 hours to watch a 20 minute show because last year our son was at the back of a huge crowd and could not see a thing.
Doesn't really feel like a celebration of western culture, just a 10 day fancy dress party aimed at people that will spend a ton of money on alcohol. Not really family friendly at all (except for kids day (morning) which is really good).
I will state again though that the rodeo is fab! Wish we didn't have to go through the rowdy, drunken crowds to get out of the stampede grounds though and back to our vehicle.

Yes. So happy we were fortunate to attend the Stampede. First time ever.
One day we went to see the Chuck Wagon Races .. the next day attended the Stampede Rodeo and musical variety show and fireworks.
Walked around and enjoyed the grounds.
Unbelievable how many people were there. Whoa
I have attached a few photos.
If you get a chance to attend the Stampede next year, Go. Yaaaahooo

After a 17 year gap, we decided to check out the Calgary Stampede - we always enjoy watching coverage on TV but it’s fun to walk the midway and grounds and see live shows. The daily schedule helped us to plan the day and we lucked out by getting in free before 11:00am - not sure why but 🤠. We enjoyed: the RCMP Musical Ride - a proud Canadian tradition and celebration of 150 years of service; the illusionist, Stampede Show Riders, River Camp village with Indigenous dancers, market place displays, animal displays, show band, and Canine Stars. Searching for gluten free options was a bit of a chore but we found some poutine, dole whip and caramel apples. 😋see pictures. We ended our day with a T&S concert at the Coca Cola stage which is an amazing new-and-improved outdoor stage venue. We are 50+ so didn’t partake in rides or much after 10:30 but after 12 hours we had a full day!

I just did a quick drive by to check out the outside after doing the Calgary Tower tour. I came in August so missed the Big Rodeo in July. I might have to come back in July one year to check it out.

One and only of its kind in entire North America if I am not wrong.
You got food, rides, cultural activities, music and what not. Remember it is for 10 days only so make sure you visit it at least once since it is worth it.
I bought a ticket online and it was 90 bucks worth.
Dhruv Gupta — Google review
We were glad we went, and a two day visit was enough! One giant theme park, which is great for the kids, and also so many food and drinks vendors. It seems to be about, sell, sell, sell, rather than about conservation, compassion, and preservation of tradition. However, saying all of that, it is the biggest outdoor show we've ever been to...

A free standing viewing tower in Calgary, Alberta with panoramic views of the city below and beyond. The tower is also home to a revolving restaurant that enables tourists to enjoy the thrilling sensation of being 191 meters above the city.
The Calgary Tower is a big structure. It was also an incredible experience to be on the top floor of this structure. From the top floor, we have a 360-degree view of the city. We can also see the nearest towering skyscraper. From the gallery, this is such a lovely scene. I would advise others to go see this tower.

Must see place when you are in Calgary. Easy to find it in the center, no need to buy tickets in advance - you can make it here (payment with cash or card). Going up by the elevator and then - amazing picturesque view to the entire city!
We went there in the evening close to sunset, so we were able to make amazing photos with the sunset from different sides.
Glass floor may seem to be kinda tension from the beginning but after all - isn’t it exciting to see the city under your feet? 😃
There is short movie about the construction of the tower and Alberta in general. Take time to watch it - useful information.
There is restaurant here but it needs reservation (often crowded). I believe restaurant visitors can go to the tower for free - there is separate entrance for them.
There is souvenir shop at the ground floor. Somehow high prices but worth looking.
Take a look at the walls as well - there is information about different towers in the world.

We enjoyed our lunch at Sky 360, which is a rotating restaurant. While we enjoyed great food, we were amused by the view of the surroundings at the height of about 200 meters. As the view is panoramic, we did not go to the observation deck and avoid paying $21 admission fees. If you really want to go, you will save 55% of admission charges if you spent $20 or more in Sky 360.

Nice experience. It doesn't take too long to see it and you can go in with almost no wait. The views are great and there's a short video on the construction and modifications that give a little history to the tower.
All and all pretty cool spot for photos, not very many info things provided up there would be nice to learn or see more about the city we are overlooking.

I didn't go to the restaurant; however, I went to the top to visit the Observation Deck. It's such an amazing view the one you get from there. Lots of people you will see there as well.
I didn't took me long to get to the top of the tower. Maybe because I didn't go on busy days.
Staff is very attentive and kind like most Canadians ;)

What an amazing view !!!
This place is a must visit and good for staying an hour or two. It has paid parking space nearby and entry tickets are available at counter in gift shop and online as well. At the observation deck you will also find a theater room, restroom and drinking water.

Very beautiful place, enjoyable & so lovely.
Reservations are not recommended.. just visit and buy own tickets. Because after purchasing online you might not be receiving confirmation message due to server detect lead some hassle on checking nonetheless. So better just go and buy your tickets accordingly. You can take some drinks/ snacks with you in case the skydeck restaurant is closed.
A particularly sophisticated trip to this birds eye view!

I have been to many observation towers around the world (Japan, Toronto, Malaysia, South Korea, etc.) I gave the Calgary Tower a try.
A ticket costs $22.
I think about 45 minutes is all you need on the observation deck. They have a water fountain on the observation deck too.
The area has a brief video and some facts shown around the room.
It is also the place where you can catch a bus to and from the airport which makes a day trip super convenient.
The Calgary Tower reminds me of the same quality as KL Tower in Malaysia. They could do more with it.

This is a must see spot in Calgary. It has fantastic views of the city. There are signs that post to important landmarks in the city that can guide your experience in Calgary. There is a short film that you can watch that gives the history of the tower. The tickets are $21 and it is absolutely worth it for the view alone.

The Calgary Tower is one of the most iconic and historic buildings of downtown Calgary. It has a revolving restaurant and an an observation deck on top. We did not try the restaurant as reservation is required. The views are expansive and amazing! Walking over the glass floor was also thrilling! All the staff members were also friendly and always ready to help you out with taking your photos. I gave it four stars because the tickets were a bit pricey.

On my first visit to Calgary, I visited this tower and I loved the view. With a self guided tour, I learnt a lot about the city. I will recommend going during Spring or Fall as there were no lines and it was not crowded. I visited on a weekday in October and I had fun. Please get your tickets online to save time.
The lights come on at night so while you take a stroll downtown, the backdrop of the tower is beautiful.

The tower is definitely a worth while experience. I have gone up three times and it was fun, though there is not a lot to it. If you don't mind heights, you can stand on the glass floor or walk around the building and enjoy the incredible 360° views.

I love visiting observation decks of towers/skyscrapers, so Calgary Tower was on my must-visit list during my recent half-day stopover in the city. Although it is dwarfed by recent skyscrapers, it is still an iconic structure! I have to give a big kudos to the staff member working at the elevator foyer on the ground floor, welcoming and saying goodbye to visitors (Feb 25, afternoon) - she was so enthusiastic for what seemed like a repetitive job!
The observation deck itself was clean, well-maintained, and seemed to be recently renovated. I visited on a clear day and the view was quite nice. There is a glass floor, clear panels describing the landmarks that you could see out of the windows, interesting information around the inner walls, and a short film about the tower's construction/history. There is a water fountain and seating to just take in the view. However, the stairs to the second floor are blocked. Hope they can find another use for that space.
I thought it was interesting that the tower was built for the purpose of commemorating Canada's centennial year of 1967 (although it was completed in 1968), quite a few years before CN Tower was built. I wonder if the tower would have been designed to be much taller had it been the reverse order. We'll never know!

The Calgary Tower is an iconic landmark in the heart of the city that offers an unforgettable experience with its panoramic views of Calgary and the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Located in downtown Calgary, the tower features a revolving restaurant, observation deck, and glass floor that provides a thrilling view of the city below.
Entering the tower, visitors are quickly ushered to the high-speed elevator that takes them up to the observation deck in a matter of seconds. The view from the top is awe-inspiring, with a 360-degree view that encompasses the entire city and its stunning skyline. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a clear and unobstructed view of Calgary's sprawling landscape, including major landmarks such as the famous Canadian Rockies.
Visitors can enjoy a full 60-minute rotation of the restaurant, which is a great way to take in both the view and the fine dining experience. The food here is top-notch, and the service is excellent, making it one of the most sought-after dining experiences in the city.
The glass floor on the observation deck at the Calgary Tower is a unique and thrilling attraction that challenges visitors to face their fear of heights. Walking on the glass floor is an exciting experience that provides a bird's-eye view of the streets, crowds, and bustling city below. Though a bit scary at first, it is a true test of bravery, and the adrenaline rush is well worth the thrilling experience.
Overall, the Calgary Tower is a highlight of the city and a must-visit attraction for anyone exploring Calgary. With its breathtaking views, exciting glass floor, and top-notch dining, it's a must-see for both visitors and locals alike. Its a great place to spend a few hours and is suitable for visitors of all ages!

My son and i had a great time here. The glass floor is one of the best parts of the whole thing. I would definitely recommend eating in Sky 360 as well. The restaurant slowly turns while you eat. One revolution per hour. Such amazing views from all angles.

I visited the Calgary Tower and it was an exceptional experience! It made me honestly feel like going on all the towers across the world. All other towers around the world were beautiful displayed with their location, build cost, etc. I loved the experience completely and would highly recommend. The wait time was super short, and the attendants were also nice and professional!

It's definitely worth seeing (one of the attractions I would add to the must-do list if visiting Calgary). Very breathtaking views, glass floor (part of it, but still scary), toilet upstairs as well (comfortable when you are with a stroller). Byw, there are no toilets downstairs in the building. We wanted to visit a restaurant as well (it is possible to do in Vancouver's tower upstairs), but without reservation, it was impossible even if it was 1 or 2 p.m. hightly recommended.

Some staff were very friendly, others very flat affect.
Once your at the top, the views were beautiful. It was fun standing on the glass floor. They had small plaques where they pointed out what buildings we were looking at which was informative.
Besides looking outside, there was nothing else to do.
I found it a bit pricey.

Visiting the Calgary Tower was a highlight of our trip! The view from the top is truly spectacular, offering a stunning panorama of the city and distant mountains. There's plenty of interesting information available about the sights you're seeing, which adds a nice educational touch to the visit. While our stop was quite brief, it was very reminiscent of the experience at the CN Tower. Great for a quick visit if you're looking to take in some breathtaking views and learn a bit about Calgary's skyline.

Great experience and well worth the fee. You get to truly see all the city and get a different perspective.
Take the time to read the signage and download the app, it’s interesting to see all the knooks and spaces you miss zooming through traffic.
We found a bunch of places not on our radar to explore in Calgary from our visit here
Beth Quirie — Google review
Not that tall compared to many other buildings even in the area, while only slightly taller than the space needle and a third of the height of the CN Tower. It is a nice place to go though as it has very nice views, and a very reasonable price. It's worth stopping at.
What a great idea! Having a family run business that drives the buyers to the mall so that you don't have to stand there and hawk yiur items.
Makes way more sense than a typical Farmer's Market that requires you to stand at your booth the whole time without a promise of selling your wares.
There is plenty of Parking and impartial staff that is eager to get your items sold. Great concept!
I found the owner to be very transparent and clear. I would not hesitate to recommend renting a booth here to sell items at all!
It is very easy to find.

Fantastic store if you have some money to spend on collectables. You can find about anything here.
Would give 5* but I'm knocking a couple stars off for the staff member that was watching us, pretty sure she though we were stealing because we don't look the the usual clientele.
If you have a worry about theft, a security guard should be in place.

So many neat things in this store! I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and saw so many antique items. I have posted a few photos that I took while walking around. Definitely somewhere you should stop in to look around if you're in Airdrie. I heard they also buy antique items.

Such a phenomenal store! They have so much antiques all seemingly sold at a reasonable price. From comic books to old gas pumps. Old postcards to old pick axes.

We never pass through Airdrie without stopping at Where on Earth. So many unique treasures and inventory is always changing. Rarely do we leave empty handed. They have something for everything. Being a record collector they have a number of booths with a good selection and prices. I always find a few to add to my collection. The place is clean bright and well organized, already looking forward to the next time we stop there.

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Very well organized booths, everything is fairly easy to see, things are clearly labeled. Lots of old neat things to look at. Also some very odd things to have a laugh at and depending on how old you are you might be a bit surprised in what is considered antique.

Great little place to stop by in. Lots of things to see but well kept and organized. There’s something for everyone, staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our time and will likely stop by in the future.
HOWEVER; if you are buying anything, make sure to research or are fully familiar before buying anything g as there are no returns or exchanges. I purchased a grenade marked as a “dummy grenade” but turns out its a fake cast iron worth significantly less. Be cautious, as I quite disappointed.

A real hidden gem! It's like going to an awesome little museum, where everything is for sale!
Incredible selection, with very reasonable pricing.

This is the best antiques mall I’ve ever been to. I almost never leave without something new. The main reason this place is so great is that the antiques are reasonably priced. (How often do you go to an antique store and feel like the prices are grossly overinflated?!). Expect to spend 90-120 mins there if you want to take your time and see everything.
A bit depressing though to realize the piggy bank from my childhood qualifies as an antique now … oh hmmm I guess that was almost 50 years ago …

So many cool things here. We had a lot of fun and made some great finds for kids and grown ups alike to enjoy. Books, toys, comics, incredible collectibles and decorative items. And much more. Very interesting place. We left happy and with some great new vintage books, toys, and comics.

Something me and my family love to do is go to antique malls, we came across this one on our family road trip.
Immediately as soon as we walked into the store we were followed around by an old lady , on our tails constantly over our shoulder making us feel like they were suspicious of us stealing things.
We touched a few things gently or picked them up for a second to be told that we could put that back unless we planned to pay for it, told us that if we were to break anything that it would get messy in there.. and finally she said "okay times up... unless you plan on buying anything" I didn't know we needed a time limit or to be supervised in a store like toddlers. Keep in mind the youngest in our family is 10 and the oldest is 38.
This was the first and last time our family will visit this location so long as "KAREN" is supervising.

Princes Island Park is a public park located in downtown Calgary, Alberta. The park features an amphitheatre and hiking trails, as well as stalls at Eau Claire Market. The park is particularly popular during the summer months, and hosts events such as Canada Day and the Calgary Folk Festival.
It is a very beautiful park, it is a huge park that is centrally located. You can see the big buildings at the background and you can see this beautiful park on the forefront. You have lovely walking paths here, you'll also find a lot of geese here. It is so green in spring with colorful flowers. This is definitely a place you should consider visiting, it is very peaceful to be in here.

Prince's Island reminds me a lot of Vancouver. It's a nice little getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is in an ideal location, right on the river and a few minutes from the downtown core. The park is considerably huge with large deciduous trees, lush gardens and a cafe on the island. With the changing of the season, the colourful leaves add a whole new beauty to it.

Princess Park is a beautiful and blissful place to spend an afternoon strolling, go for a morning run, enjoy some buskers, or traverse through to get to the restaurants and bars on the other side of the river.
It has many events hosted throughout the spring and summer and has a huge stage for live music.
The River Cafe is most certainly fine dining and the extra novelty of walking to the establishment creates a lasting memory fit for any special occasion.
If you are looking for a fun spot to grab a beer and some fun food, be sure to hit the Garage right next to the park!

Prince's Island is a very pretty park in the center of Calgary. It owes its name to one Peter Prince, originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who started the Eau Claire & Bow River Lumber Company in 1886. The island was formed in the river when Prince dug a channel (now the arm of the river on the south side of the island) to harness the water power for his lumber mill.
It is a very pretty place to visit, there is a single building on the island, the River Cafe.
There are three pedestrian bridges and causeway access to the island, only utility vehicles are allowed.

Calgary has plenty of beautiful parks all over the city, and Prince's Island Park is, definitely, one of the most popular and visited parks in downtown that has picturesque downtown, river, and waterfront views.
In summer, the park is thronged by a variety of people of all the ages and interests. cyclists, walkers by themselves or with their furry friends and joggers are seen on the trails on either side of the river and on the over bridge.
There are lots of trees and lush green grounds with benches to enjoy the nature and the river.
There is a children playground with various equipment to keep them active and occupied in the natural surroundings.
Also, a cafeteria and washrooms are on the park to cater to the needs of visitors.
The amazing park has lots to offer to every kind of people, for free. Walking along the river filled me and my wife with enormous exhilaration.

The Heritage Park is a large open air museum that showcases Western Canada's history from the 1860s to the 1950's. The park contains a variety of historically accurate reconstructed buildings, as well as live and working exhibits of classic cars, horses and carts. There are also plenty of attractions for children including a steam engine ride and a paddlewheel tour boat.
Definitely worth getting an annual pass for a repeated visit to this museum of historical memories. Watch out for ever ready guides who will give you a detailed run down of events that resulted in the space you occupy. From automobiles to Quilts. Remarkable occurrence throughout the ages

This is such a fun place to bring the family! There are so many things to do here. We rode the steam train, looked at the train cars, blacksmith shop, dentist office, rode on the rides, visited the gift shop, ate donuts and cotton candy. Then there was so much more we didn't get to do because we ran out of time. There are employees everywhere in costume to help out or talk about the different buildings and things to see. Everyone was so helpful and kind! The treats were yummy and reasonably priced. This time we were here with a school trip but we've been here before with just family. Love this place! Next time we'll visit the ranch and ride the boat.

I cannot recommend Heritage Park enough!! I'm a big fan of historic villages and this place checks every box for me. I brought my two nephews (4 and 2 years old) and they had the time of their life. Between riding the train, the amusement rides, and watching the live demonstrations, we were hooked on everything! Heavily considering getting a membership because this place is just awesome!

My recent visit to the Western Canada History Park was truly remarkable. The park offers a captivating journey into the rich history and diverse cultural heritage of Western Canada. With interactive exhibits and engaging activities for all age groups, it ensures that every visitor can learn and enjoy themselves simultaneously. The knowledgeable and friendly staff were eager to share their passion for the region's past, making the experience even more memorable. The park's well-maintained grounds, coupled with stunning scenery, created the perfect backdrop for this historical adventure. I highly recommend the Western Canada History Park for anyone seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the region's history and culture.

An excellent tourist attraction for everyone particularly an exciting and exhilarating place for a family with children.
The heritage park village, in the proximity to Bow river and a huge dock, consists of clean green lawns, paved walking trails, and attractive statues of various animals. It also has a train that take you around the park.
There are lots of tables everywhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenic views and electrified visitors.
Also there are shops and restaurants near the entrance where you can buy souvenirs or ice cream of your choice.
I wish, the park has so much to offer, that it remained open until at least 8:00 pm in summer. Unfortunately, it closes at five, so the security guards start chasing people away from 4:30. Isn't 4:30 too early to wind up and send the enthusiastic people away in the long sunny days in Calgary?

Absolutely gorgeous. The amusement park is fun for adults as well. I’d recommend wearing the comfiest shoes to walk around the park, and really get to see a lot more. If you enjoy boat rides, the steam boat is a must!

Always enjoy our trips to Heritage Park so much! The staff are always so friendly and kind, things are kept clean, and the grounds are gorgeous. If you think you might go a few times in the season it's worth getting a season pass! Lots to do so easy to have multiple visits and have each time feel different.

The Alberta Day (on 2/9/2023) celebration was held here! There was a drone show on 9pm. And throughout the day there’re a lot of booths such as live music show, kid corners, food trucks for you to enjoy. Besides, it’s a good opportunity for me to enter the heritage park for free! Normally there is a fee $30-40 for each entry.

The park is an awesome idea, combining nice strolls in the open air, with historical exhibits, preserved or restored. Their summer and xmas markets are less busy than others around the city and its cool to hunt down all the locations throughout the park. the bakery is always busy, with long lines... they should really get extra staff and better distribution in nearby cafes and restaurants.

I'm not a huge fan of tourist destinations but was visiting Calgary to see my 5 year old grandchild so if course went along for the fun. If you live in Calgary and whether you have children or not this is a must. My daughter decided to apply what she paid for 4 of us that day to a yearly pass as we were leaving. So worth it! It's pricey but once you get inside everything except food is free. In summer bring a picnic as the selection of grab and go food isn't great. They do have some dine-in restaurants but we thought too much time would be wasted with a 5 year old. The small midway is delightful with 100 year old rides with fantastic story boards. After spending 4+ hours there I was ready to go back the next day to explore more. Well done Heritage Park!

We have the best experience exploring the park. We rode the train to go around and eat ice cream and some other sweet staff they have. It was a great fresh air visiting the farm yard and the little town around. The vintage cars are cool as well.

Great place for family and kids. It has lot of rides for all ages. The building looks very genuine. The staffs are very helpful. I would recommend everyone to visit especially people living in Calgary. Annual subscription fee is reasonable.

What a place where you really get into the past! You can feel the real Wild West and take a ride on an old train. All vintage equipment works and is in excellent condition. There's also an amazing exhibition of vintage cars that you won't see anywhere else!

It's an incredible place not to be missed on your visit to Calgary. The area has been kept like it jade been in the early 20th century and certain things have been added to raise the atmosphere of that period.
You can easily spend the future day in the village as the place is huge. There is a train going around the village that you should not miss. Also, the half-hour horse ride where you will get to know the details of the place from the guide is very interesting.
Make sure that you go here on a sunny day as you will be walking a lot outside.

This place is huge- it could easily fill an entire day with everything from automobile collections, pioneer life, and coal mining as well as a really well done old-fashioned midway. I enjoyed the fact everything was included in the admission. We also ate at a really nice restaurant there- the food was perfect. And if you want to ride the train, a tractor pulled cart or horse pulled carriage you are in luck!

We visited during a weekday at the end of the season, when it was closed. This means we missed out on some of the immersion into history. Special arranges had been made for our group of 20 from Arizona! Thank you! The Guide was fantastic! She was enthusiastic, well versed in all of the details. This is a great place for imagining history!

Most of the park was closed by the time I arrived so I explored the lake and walked the trail to see if I could catch a good sunset which never came 🙃 I drove 6.5 hours the day before so needed a more low key day. The next time I am in the area, I definitely want to check it out when it's open. It looks like a pretty cool spot. There was clear bottom kayaks out in the water from a tour company also.

A rare Canadian gas-powered motorised bicycle, which cost twice the price of a standard bicycle and retailed for $96 (back in 1949). Amazing 🚲to see modern-day eBikes having similar features. We also loved all the many antique vehicles in the Gasoline Alley Museum 💖
Eau Claire Distillery is Alberta's first craft distillery, located next to the Chuckwagon Cafe. They use locally sourced grains and water from the Rockies to create their award-winning spirits like Parlour Gin and EquineOx. The tasting room offers a classy experience with tap beer and unique cocktails. Customers praise the attentive service provided by staff members like Alantra, Sarah, and Ciara.
They definitely capture the Speakeasy vibe here. This converted town hall building has interesting design features including a circular staircase and high rounded ceilings.
I enjoyed the unique flavours of my “7 Deadly Gins” flight of 4.

First time visiting, which is criminal considering how long they've been here. Phenomenal experience, the staff were very friendly and inviting. The drinks were superb, as was the spinach dip they brought out. Started with a flight of spirits, had an Old Fashioned, and ended with a Mojito. I'll be visiting again, definitely.

The Eau Claire Distillery was such an incredible place to have our wedding!
Jen and Mallory went above and beyond to make our wedding go off without a hitch.
Jen managed the entire event: set up, schedule, flow, bartending, electronics and take down.
I cannot recommend the staff enough, everyone was professional and friendly.
We were lucky to have London create personalized cocktails for our wedding. He made it very difficult to choose a cocktail, as all of them were delicious.
The venue is incredibly unique and offers so many different elements. From the private speakeasy, to the beautiful covered patio, the distillery and the whisky room. These all made for amazing photo opportunities.
I cannot recommend this venue enough. I’m still dreaming of our magical wedding here!

I am so sorry to write this review. I like to support local but we had the worst experience at the Mother's Day tea event at the Speakeasy. The event was poorly organized, we waited outside for 20 minutes while watching boxes of store bought appetizers go in for us. Finally the door was opened to see the trays of sad cakes and cookies haphazardly stacked. Presentation was awful. We waited patiently for our drinks order and that was a challenge as well. Ordering a pot of tea!!! was extremely difficult and the staff member had to have a meeting if it was possible. While waiting for the drinks, another staff member came by to stack croissant on the precarious tower. We asked if we would be provided plates, she replied she had no idea. Finally paper plates and prewrapped plastic cutlery showed up. My son tore into an uncooked doughy croissant which was the final straw. The price point of this was comparable to Bow Valley Ranchouse or the Ridge in Okotoks. Quite frankly don't waste your money. It would take alot to get us back through the doors ever again.

This is an amazing find in Turner Valley. Today we found the Speakeasy Bar and what a delightful surprise. An extensive selection of drinks and great food. The distillery itself has a wide selection of gin whiskey vodka etc
Now we have found this gem we will definitely be back and absolutely worth the drive and fortunately we live 15 minutes away

Very unique and pleasant atmosphere. After we were seated it took 10 minutes to get our menus. It then took another 10 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our order. I asked for a water which never came. We waited a good 15 minutes and the bartender had not even started making our drinks. Our waitress had disappeared in the back (making our food?) very disappointing as we live in the area and we’re excited to try something new. Very short staffed obviously.

It’s not often I get a $200 bill and don’t complain but this is def one of those times.
Love the tap beer and the smoked old fashioneds were pretty darn good, if not a little sweet.
Service was 100 %. Between the trifecta of awesomeness of Alantra (hope that is right), Sarah and Ciara? I was well looked after.
Drinks are on par price wise with what you would expect from a classy establishment so no worries there.
Being a local? I’m sure I will be back 😁 pardon the sauce bottle in the pic……

Found this distillery at the ‘22 Spring Meadows Christmas market; have purchased there cocktail pre-mixed cans a couple times from local stores in Calgary. Found the booth at ‘23 Spring Meadows, picked up another 6-Pack of mixed drinks, and the new Rupert’s Whiskey Cream (so good). The woman I was speaking to on Nov 25, 2023 at the market was very friendly, provided a brief history on the company and offered me a few samples, one of them being the Whiskey Cream. Great products from a great AB craft distillery. Will make sure to make a trip out to Turney Valley in the near future.

Had a sub par experience two years ago and was hesitant to come back.. but happy I did! Everything has changed so much, the food was great, the pricing was great and the service! Geniunely a great time and I can’t wait to be in the area again and try out their new patio.
My only qualm is the plastic disposable cutlery wrapped in plastic, just feels wasteful! But otherwise, well done guys.

Family of mine live in Turner Valley & they alway rant & rave about this distillery. Since we were visiting, and they only live 1 block away, I decided to walk over. The Christmas Gin is what made me check out Eau Claire & right off the hop I was impressed. Everything about it is appealing to the eye. I would like to return in the spring/summer, when seating outside would be possible but there were happy patrons seated inside. I picked up too many & was sent back the next day to grab more for friends & family who heard about my experience. We dealt with a very lovely lady who gave us a tasting & although I didn’t get a big bottle, I did enjoy it! Definitely a HUGE selection from bottles to merch. I really loved their story & how they go about making their liquors as well as reading about all their copious awards!!!

We recently reserved Rupert's @ Eau Claire Distillery for an evening out with 30 people. They were so accommodating. The drinks, food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Thank you so much for hosting a wonderful evening out!! I'd highly recommend reaching out to them for your next event.

Food and drinks were great! Very reasonably priced and will be coming again. I will say the service was a bit slow considering it was not super busy (only 4-5 groups in the restaurant), this did make the experience a bit less enjoyable, but overall Eau Claire was good.
CJ J — Google review
We stopped by recently for their Winter Market, and on the way out we got a bite to eat. Just a snack, but it was taking quite a while for the food to arrive. They checked on the order without us asking, and came back shortly after... with the wrong order. We waited again, and while we were waiting they went above and beyond to compensate us for the long wait. Again unprompted by us. We were already fans of Eau Claire, but with this sort of customer service we will definitely be making a point of visiting more often.

Calaway Park is an amusement park located in Springbank, Alberta, which features over 30 rides and attractions for families to enjoy. The park also features a 3D theatre, a midway with games, and live shows.
Fun and entertainment for the whole family. Visited for the first time and we had a blast. Online ticket price worth it. So many rides for kids and adults. My 2yr old had an amazing time. Perfect family activity.

Great place for family and kids. A beautiful summer day get-away from Calgary. Going on a public holiday or long weekend wouldn’t be recommended at all as it’s tightly packed and takes a good while just waiting in queue’s itself.
There is a handful and more of games and activities there. A lot of them need extra pay than the entry fee to the park. There are also height restrictions on some rides for smaller kids. Bumper cars are available for both small kids and adults separately. Kids under 10 have a great deal to enjoy, although I should mention that the number of adult rides and actual adventure rides were very few. What surprised me most was that it was although a water theme park, there was no swimming pool. There was a mini spray park for kids but that was about it.
Parking is available and safety measures seemed to be on point from what I saw. Was a happy and fun day experience and would visit and recommend again! Worth visiting for families with small kids.

We Had a great time with my family at Calaway. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. There are lots of rides for everyone, more for little ones
My only complaint was that the tickets 🎟️ are expensive $350 for 4 kids and 2 Adults 😅😅
You can bring snacks water and food 😃

Lots of fun for the kiddos, and if you have season passes it's well worth it. We have taken the kiddos about 15 times this summer and we have always had a great experience. Protective measures for covid are in place, social distancing in lines and on rides, as well as regular sanitation of rides. We have really enjoyed this season.

My family and I took my three year old son for his first time. I haven't been to Calaway Park since I was a teenager and I always loved it as a kid so I was very exited to go again. My family and I had an amazing time. We were very pleasantly surprised at how many rides my son was able to go on both with us or by himself. Everything was clean, the ride attendants were awesome. We weren't sure how my toddler would enjoy the rides but he had a blast on everything and so did we. An amazing day filled with happy memories I won't forget. We will be back again soon, and regularly every year too.

Omg...so much fun for my little guy. So happy they have centered the park around the smaller kids. My child is 6 and there were tons of rides and games he could play and he did. Thank you for a wonderful day outing. He can hardly wait to go back again.

Amazing place, many rides that are very scenically and nicely placed to add to the atmosphere of the place. My favorite rides were the water related ones and the swings. There seems to be way more rides for advanced ride takers than begginer to intermediate ones like me that's the only downside of this place. There are many washrooms and restaurants that serve vegetarian options. The majority of bathrooms were clean with the exception of one that was extremely dirty. Overall positive experience

Great time with my 6 year old niece. It's was busy but ride lines moved fast. That said, it took us almost an hour to order lunch and the food wasn't great. We will bring a picnic next time.

We have 2 young children (4 & 7) and we had such a great time. The rides are great for younger kids. My 4 year old could go on almost all the rides, and it's really nice to be able to go on with the kids on the smaller ones. The lines were short and the treats scattered around the park you could purchase were tasty. We will definitely get a seasons pass next year.

We had a fun experience here during May 22 holiday. Perfect as we do not experience long wait times. Rides are mostly the same especially for kids with heights between 3ft -4ft. Purchasing a season pass is a great idea.

Don’t forget sunblock, water and snacks! 😊

Let me start with buy the season pass in Dec from Co Op so you can get it for cheap. Its totally worth it. Lots of ride for kids and adult there are a lot of food stalls, game stalls, there are some ride which are busy with line up at peak time. This is one of the place where I will recommend season pass. There is a theater and live performances. Ample washroom and parking. They have halloween and christmas theme which is really fun for kids. Over all highly recommended. It's highly recommended for families with kids, a lot of games for sure. We came here at the end of August and it was raining. You will be surprised that many people are still coming even with bad weather. And there is no lineup for games and restaurants. Overall, great experience!

It was a good experience, although we could not go for all the rides as I had two toddlers . So we were only able to go for a couple of them and when they are taller and older we will have to go back . More fun activities for little children should be provided though

We love this place because there is so many rides that the younger ones can enjoy as well as plenty for the older ones. And I love the way the park is set up. With small rides close to each big ride so while you're waiting your not bored. It is a tradition for us to make the drive from Edmonton every summer.
Trails through protected grasslands, forests & hills, with industrial & indigenous remnants.
I wanted to walk, but my son wished to skateboard. So we found a solution and drove to Glenbow Ranch Provincial park. An amazing place for walking, biking, and even skateboarding! We saw cows, deers, groundhogs, and a train. The nature is really beautiful 😍 Next time we will definitely take some snacks as the park is huge, and it offers picnic tables.

Great place to spend a few hours hiking, running, or riding your bike through the park! You'll be able to spot some deer, birds, and gophers throughout your walk. If you use the Alltrails app, you'll find your way without a problem but there are some trails that aren't really marked. Some parts contain about a 15-20 degree incline that you will need to walk up consistently for several minutes.
There are not many places to hide away from the sun so if you go on a hot day, bring lots of water!

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is the perfect escape from the city with it just 15 minutes west of Calgary. There are a variety of paved and unpaved trails that offer incredibly stunning views. A perfect spot to watch the sunset behind the Rockies!

This is a little unknown gem of a park located between Calgary and Cochrane. Access to it is quite easy and the road to it is solid.
There are multiple parking lots at the park so it should be easy enough to find parking.
There are male and female washrooms that are reasonably clean with a security camera just outside to ensure that everything is kosher.
The main trail from there is the Tiger Lilly Loop. There is ample signage and garbage receptacles for both garbage and recycling at the beginning of the trail.
PRO TIP- Near the bottom of the trail, there is a small pond. DO NOT GO IN! THERE ARE LEACHES IN THERE THAT WILL LATCH ONTO YOU!
The paved pathway is easily navigatable for all ages. Bring your dog too as long as they are on a leash.

We biked there from Calgary. Hoping to go back via the gravel road, but unfortunately there is a small obstacle, the road stops on a private land and can't get through. Hope the city resolves the issue so we can have a continuous loop between Calgary and Cochrane from a bike path/gravel road away from the cars.
Other than that it is a very nice area with mountain views.

A nice place for hiking that's just outside the city. It has a few dirt walking trails that are easy to follow. A lot of downhill and then uphill hiking and not too much shade at times so it can get quite hot. There's a decent sized parking lot and incredible views of the faraway mountains!

Great picnic spot. Day use only.
Each site has a fire pit with a grill and a picnic table and the sites are large enough to accommodate big family gatherings.
The site are very close to the river, some of them right alongside it. There is not a lot of space between sites but they are decently private and the rushing river blocks the sound. Some sites are a bit farther from the rest.
This is along the elbow river trail so you can make a nice day of exploring the trails

"ForgetMeNot" pond is a place that deserves to be visited. Keep in my mind that always try to be earlier, take plastic slippers which will help you in enjoying the stream of cold water flowing closer to the pond. Try to take some food if you don't plan to cook it there. Always be mindful of the binds and curves along the 22 High Way. It will take approx one hour drive. Enjoy and take care of yourself, friends, and others.

This is a very serene pond, and it is usually a hot spot most times of the year. It has got a few picnic spot and tables, for food BBQ and things 😉 but to snatch a spot, you might need to come very early, unless you are just there for the water activity or to hike around the environs of the lake. It is very family oriented, and kayaking, floating, or SUP are a delight on a hot summer day. It can be pretty packed, and usually, after 2 p.m., you may begin to experience wait times. The longest I have had to wait was 10 mins to get access and parking by the lake.

This was my first time in Kananaskis Country and I was mesmerized by the beauty of this place. The drive from Calgary to this Pond goes through the Country with stunning views and if you are lucky, you’ll see plenty of wildlife around.
The Pond itself has wonderful views and it also has a well-maintained Day Use area, and is perfectly for a family day out. Next to it is the Elbow River and there are short walks all around the Pond.
Overall a great day-trip from Calgary, approximately 40 minute drive from there if you don’t stop enroute for photo-ops!
You need a Kananaskis Conservation Area to be there so be sure to get one. I believe it was $15/day

We came around 4 pm. Parking was packed, even along the road. Found a spot after a couple of rounds of circling around. The area is well maintained, with picnic tables and lots of shaded spits to sit by the water. Water is cold, and dogs swimming is welcome. There are lots of sup and inflated boats on the water.

This place is so serene. We visited this place a day after the snowfall. Most of it was melted but the snow capped mountains surrounding the pond was really beautiful. My kid enjoyed throwing the stones on the pond. It’s also a good place for picnic but all of the tables were occupied even during 4pm. So try to come early to grab a table!

Absolutely love this place. Great place for outdoor fun and activities. I have visited this place both summer and winter and never lets me down. Fire pit is another plus here. Day picnic, short hike and enough scenic beauty. Recommend for family with toddlers and babies.

Beautiful scenery. Water was a bit cold to swim but many people were paddle boating.
The trail was mild- goes all the way around the pond. Appropriate for all ages.
Nice and clean. Bathroom is available at the parking lot/ trail head.

Was a lovely early fall day. Not as busy as in the summer, so we were able to find an available picnic table. Wasps were aggressive as they can be at this time of year. Other than 1 sting, it was a nice visit.

One of my favorite places to visit with my kids and furry. But, I would definitely keep visiting this place on weekdays as it gets very crowded on weekends. We enjoy having a breakfast/picnic, a walk through the pond, and also throwing some rocks in the Elbow River 😊

Wow ! Great place for picnics, kayaking, hiking. Quiet little area, easy walking trails, peaceful. All less than an hour from Calgary.
Plenty of seating areas around the pond, calm water, suitable for all, handicap accessible.

A very beautiful place. Don’t end your trip at the pond, take a 10-15min walk and discover a hidden gem: a beautiful water stream/river passes through the area; you can walk on the rocks, or simply enjoy the sound of running water and the view. The location has good seating areas, and chemical restrooms. Make sure to bring your own water and wipes. Parking space is very limited, so you have to arrive early. And be aware, there is no cellular reception, so download your map in advance.
The Kananaskis area near Calgary offers a wealth of outdoor activities, including hiking and skiing routes with sweeping mountain views. The valley bottom is home to two stunning lakes: Upper Kananaskis Lake and Lower Kananaskis Lake, both surrounded by beautiful woods and an excellent selection of campgrounds. Rawson Lake Trail from Upper Kananaskis Lake is a popular hike in all seasons, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery.
Stunning location from the moment you arrive. Snowshoes needed after heavy snow fall.

I would say this is now my favourite place . It’s so amazing that you can see huge lake with few tiny islands, lots of naturally grown plants, tall trees, good amount of beautiful grey rocks, good elevation, three to four waterfalls, lovely views all around the trail. This lake is kinda huge. It’s worth visiting this place. Good spots available to get in touch with water and play, day camping, picnic etc.

On Saturday, July 8th, we encountered more than one grizzly bear in the trail area between the Upper Lake parking lot and the North District parking lot. We came face to face with them on the trail, and they showed no fear of humans. One of them even ran in the opposite direction for a while. Fortunately, these bears didn't show much interest in hikers, but recently, people hiking in this area should definitely bring bear spray, avoid hiking alone, and prioritize safety. I hope everyone can safely enjoy the beauty of hiking and the journey.

Great place very close to Calgary very senic drive and exceptional view. Highly recommended. Upper lake is better as there are benches and picnic spot. Ample parking and there are few hikes from upper lake we did Rawson lake hike which was hard but worth it. Over all highly recommended.

It was very nice place for hiking, but i think is good to have company and don't go alone. It's very quiet there, and heard there are bears. So it's good to have few friends to go hiking or for nice scenery. If you are lucky, you can see moose on the road side too.

Beautiful spot to spend the day. Lake is big enough for swimming, boating or paddle boarding. The trails are great, although the loop was a little much for us. We should have stuck to the short version. Our dogs loved swimming in the lake, it was crystal clear.

What an amazing day hike! Love the sweeping views of the surrounding Rockies as you trek around the lake trail. Took 5 hours with lots of stops for pics and lunch. Highly recommend this hike for everyone!
Grotto Mountain is a well-known peak that attracts hikers and climbers with its grotto-like cave and picturesque trails offering stunning scenic views. During the winter, Grotto Canyon transforms into an enchanting ice walk featuring frozen waterfalls that are popular with ice climbers. The trail spans seven kilometres in total and can be challenging due to icy conditions, making it necessary to wear waterproof boots, trekking poles, and spikes for safety.
Whoever built this trail has heard of switchbacks, it would seem, and early attempts at their creation were promising. As the unnamed switchback creator tired from the climb, I can only presume, their work started to get sloppy, the switchbacks resembling random drunken stumbles from side to side more than the designs of an intelligent mind. It was steep, steep as the cost of loving in this broken world. But as the sun broke o’er the horizon as we traversed the final ridge, all felt right with the world once again. Until we had to go back down those ——— switchbacks.

Climbing it in the middle of December is brutal, but that's part of the fun isn't it? Got microspike before you go

Was a pleasure to solo this mountain twice - once to remember one friend and once to remember another. Would highly recommend a compass, as the intertwining game trails - combined with all of the different man-made trails (sadly) - can make things confusing. Try to stick to the most well-used trails out of courtesy to the environment if you can. Bring plenty of water, as you'll spend a fair amount of time above treeline. Stay safe and enjoy! :-)
Rob Maciak — Google review
When u start coming from parking lot and reach the join loop, take left path and come down from same track, never ever take other track, loop track is not worth it
Murad Taha — Google review
By far one of my favorite hikes! I've done this one twice! Very challenging (requires skill, and endurance). I'd only recommend it to experienced hikers.
Absolutely breathtaking views though...
Remember, even if it's hot at the base, it could be below 0 at the summit. Pack accordingly.
Due to proximity to Canmore, cell reception is available as long as you have line of sight to the city (which is virtually everywhere above the tree line).
Stephen Wagner — Google review
Didn’t expect the continuous steep trail. If you like challenge do this trail. The view at the peaks are worth it. If possible use a hiking sticks and hiking shoes u really need it when going down .
Difficulty: very hard
v heirold — Google review
This hike is a leg killer! I started from the hard route all the way up and ACC route going down. If you really wanted a leg workout this is your absolute wish list. At the summit you get spectacular views around Canmore and exshaw. If you're on a roll alot of Big Horn sheep on the ridge. Always pack alot of water and don't underestimate the mountain conditions it will change like your mood.

Canmore Cave Tours provided an exceptional caving experience, exceeding expectations. Their guide, Max, was knowledgeable and passionate about caving, geology and outdoor adventuring. The approach to the cave entrance involved a short hike with stunning views; however, it may be icy so bringing your own crampons is recommended if you have small feet. This tour has inspired interest in future caving adventures due to their excellent service and expertise in this field.
Much more adventurous than expected. But great fun. 30 min hike through beautiful scenery to get to the cave. Then a few hours underground, much of it on our butts and hands and knees. Fun and confident guide - very knowledgeable. Must do for anyone after an adventure

This was an incredible experience. Our guide Brett was knowledgeable and passionate about the tour and area. It was my first cave experience and definitely felt that it was more difficult than I was prepared for doing. However, I was able to push through and complete the planned route. I recommend checking out some photos of others and make a careful decision if this is also your first time ever doing caving or similar activity. Definitely a once in a life time memorable tour. I’m happy to be able to push out of my comfort zone and make this bucket list item come true!

Was an amazing experience touring a cave for the first time with a group of friends. Our tour guide Sarah was amazing. She made sure we felt safe and comfortable going into the unknown and educated all of us about the cave, its history, and science. Even had the opportunity to sit in absolute darkness, which I can say was my favorite part.

A must do experience in the area. Truly unique, educational, adventurous, and fun!
Shout out to our guide, John who definitely made the experience a blast. He kept things light and playful while also making us feel confident and safe during this new experience. Thank you!

I had some knowledge of caving going into this tour, but the experience was still far up and above my expectations! Our guide, Max, is so knowledgeable and passionate about caving, geology, and outdoor adventuring and he made us feel so at ease while we were squeezing through impossibly narrow crevices. We loved the whole experience and are now definitely interested in doing more caving in the future.
The approach to the cave entrance is a fairly short hike (30-45min depending on your fitness level) with some beautiful views. It was however quite icy even during the first week of March; the company does provide crampons but it's best to bring your own if you have small feet.

Amazing experience. The hike to the cave, the views on the way, the preparation to go in, and the cave! The chambers, the water pond, the bones, the slide, the climb in and down, and the explanations from our guide. The guide John was very attentive, patient and knowledgeable. 100% recommended.

Didn’t expect this to be the most memorable part of our trip in Canada!
Was thinking this will be a simple walk and some climbing but it was a 55m descent , involving squeezing through the tight spaces at some parts.
It was challenging and fun, but not overly hard. The hardest part is probably the hike up to the cave and the final climb back to the cave entrance. Recommended to use good hiking shoes as some surface are slippery.
The provided gears - overalls , knee pads, helmet and gloves etc were all in good condition, our guide was fantastic as well sharing loads of knowledge on the cave and patiently guiding us through.
First time caving for us and very enjoyable experience. Definitely a must do activity when in Banff/Canmore.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish, everyone we spoke with was amazingly friendly. The hike up was beautiful but the caves themselves were so much better than I expected. I thought we would just be walking along the caves but there was a ton of climbing and exploring to do while we were down there.
Max, our guide was awesome the whole time too.

Our tour guide, Tiffany, was really fun and friendly. She clearly knew a lot about ecology and geology and a lot about the caves. She had answers for all of our groups’ questions. Tiffany had a very calm attitude when we were stuck in difficult situations such as climbing up slippery rocks. Down in the cave we got to slide down rocks, touch old bones, and observe cool structures carved out by glacier water centuries ago. This cave tour was a real adventure.

This is an incredible tour!!! We did the adventure tour with Sarah and cannot say enough about her knowledge and professionalism!
I will say that I was quite surprised at the level of effort/fitness was required as well as the technical aspects of the caving. THIS IS NOT A HIKE OR WALKING TOUR!
If you think you can handle it, this is an experience of a lifetime!

My daughters and I had such a seriously fun time on our tour! Brent was an excellent guide and showed us just how capable we were by encouraging us to go through some outrageously tight spaces in the caves! Besides being uber informative during all phases of our tour, he put our health and safety above everything else! Definitely recommend this to everyone who wants a true adventure!!

I was extremely nervous to do this, I am scared of small spaces and the idea of underground. Within 10 minutes of being inside the cave I was having such a great time and even wanted to do the optional smaller crawls. Go even if you're scared, you might just love it! John was an amazing guide, the walk to the cave was beautiful. Lots of fun science. The best part was I felt like a kid again crawling and exploring! This is a must do!!

This tour rocked!!! It was more adventurous than I thought (we were given the option to take a challenging or simple route, we chose adventure) and I had the best time! I would have done loops and loops of the rappel!! Our fearless leader Brent really made the day through!! Sarah was a fantastic guide. She made sure on the trek up that there weee frequent rests so it was accessible for different fitness levels. The equipment that was provided was top quality. Safety was paramount and though I was very nervous about the experience, I felt completely safe throughout. The company is highly professional and extremely competent. The tour was five star. As we were sitting in line at the cave entrance waiting to exit, a furry friend (chewy) scurried by all of us - an amazing goodbye! I highly recommend this adventure.

Lake Minnewanka, located in Banff National Park, is a glacial lake known for its natural beauty and spiritual significance. The name "Minnewanka" means "Water of the Spirits" in Nakoda language, reflecting the awe-inspiring atmosphere of the lake. It spans 21 kilometers wide and reaches a depth of 142 meters, making it the second-longest lake in the Canadian Rockies.
Absolutely Beautiful lake!!

Beautiful lake in Banff National Park. There are few picnic tables by the lake. There are big parking lot close to the lake but always busy. Most of the time it is hard to find a parking spot. Washroom facility is available too.

This is a lake which took me by surprise . Walking down from the *free parking lot* the view did not seem that good. Starting part of the lake looks dried out. But once you find the right spot in between the rocks, the view is mesmerising. It’s full of colours. Every time you move an inch or turn your head, the colour combination looks different.
Walking down the road is peaceful
Would love to visit this(amongst other places) in winter.

It was a dark and dreary day when we visited this lake which is a short drive from Banff. It was still beautiful. Maybe because it was raining there was not a big crowd at any of the view points so available parking was plentiful.

Great for getting in the water. Plenty of "beach" space (it's really pebbles, not sand).
The breeze was nice, and lots of trees if it's sunny. There are also some nice views of mountains.

Beautiful Lake and interesting history behind it. Exceptional facilities: toilettes, coffee/bistro with reasonable prices; beware though CRAZY parking. We were fortunate to park quickly but as we left there was at least a dozen vehicles waiting for a spot. There's some unofficial parking spots we noticed at the shoulder of the road.
Check out the cruise/hiking options. Definitely a must-do while in Banff.

Lake Minnewanka is less crowded and easier to access than Lake Louise, but the geography is just as stunning! It's the largest lake in the park and quite deep as well. A long but easy hiking trail runs the length of the lake, connecting a few camp sites (some get shut down during peak bear season in July). Kayaks are available to rent, and boat tours can be booked in advance. When visiting by car, plan to spend some time circling the small parking lot, waiting for a spot to open up.
Minnewanka has a long and interesting history - Clovis tools, flooded towns, a number of dams that changed its shape - so it's worth reading a little bit about it before visiting if history is an interest of yours.

This doesn’t get the hype of Louise or Moraine, but it’s beautiful, and the biggest lake in the area. Free abundant parking, nice bathrooms. We hiked past the bridge then with our bear spray in hand hiked the the left along the river that feeds the lake just over the wooden bridge. We coupled up with other hikers as required to avoid bear 🐻 encounters. Go until you can go down to the river bed.

A mystic beautiful lake amid mountains of Banff National Park, Albert. Panaromic views of nature. Boat ride gives you ferry tales of its original inhabitants ( First Nation People) and their culture as well as of Ghost. A river and mountain peak are named after ghosts! Guides keep you busy till you notice the ride is over. A lot of bears around and need to be careful. Special garbage containers are fixed, which bears may not open.We visited with family in August 2020 when the weather was pleasant .Must visit while at Alberta, Canada.

We had a fantastic experience at the Banff gondola One word to describe it- safe. They were constantly wiping and sanitizing things and keeping everything spotless. Extremely organized and no huge line ups either. We were blessed with amazing weather which got us some incredible photos too. Really great views and really great food if you eat in the Sky Restaurant Buffet. Food was really good as long as you get the food that looks fresh. Gondola ride was super short, only about 8 minutes so I think the price was high. Once at the top though there’s lots to do like shop and read more about the area. On the roof/sky deck there’s also little fire pits and an igloo that’s heated that you go in and warm up. I really loved it here and definitely worth seeing it once.

This is one thing you should definitely experience if you're in Banff. The ride itself is bloody amazing.
We were four folks. On a busy day, the queue for the ticket can be long but they have many counters so it moves quickly as well. We hardly had to spend more than 10-15 minutes to get our turn. The gondola is quite expensive but the experience is worth the price. They give you a time slot for the onwards as well as the return journey in Gondola. We had two hours available at the top which is slightly less than required but you still can manage to do a lot upon the top. However, it's also tricky if you want to come down early. That can only happen if there is no queue on the top - otherwise, you wait for your time slot to come back down. On a busy day, that might almost be impossible.
The staff was great - very friendly. The guy at the ticket counter was from Ireland and had come here for summer, which is incredible.
There's a cafeteria right next to the ticket counter with Starbucks and a few other shops.

What an incredible experience!! If your around here, you MUST do this! Even if it's once in a lifetime, it'll be so worth it! Come in the winter months as it's not busy at all, and the cold dry crisp air is super refreshing! There's fire pits to warm up in top of the roof. And the outpost at the end of the trail offers the most amazing view of the Rocky mountains! Complimentary tea/hot chocolate. Stay till its dark and view the stars on a clear night. The gondola ride up is quite fun itself. Coming down at night with the view of Banff is super cool too.

My husband and I got the package with the dinner. It was our favorite experience in Banff. The views are amazing, impressive and beautiful, they gave us a blanket as it was extraordinary cold that night. Once on top, we got out to the deck to enjoy the views, it was too cold to stay out. Dinner was perfect and food amazing, we sat by the window, the view of the Rockies was just enjoyable and impressive. Service was friendly, professional and after dinner, we went to the deck to get s'mores made in the fire pits installed on the deck. There was also live music and telescopes to look at the stars. We took the last gondola, and one more time going down was a great experience, as the views of the city and mountains were amazing. We absolutely recommend this activity!

Don’t be turned away by the shortness of this waterfall - its roaring and powerful. Got some cool slo mo videos. This hike was very confusing to get to. We originally tried going for sunset, but were unsure and it was getting dark. So we went the next morning. We parked in the SMALL parking lot for surprise corner lookout and got there early enough there was one spot available. Most people just park there for the surprise corner lookout, which is pretty short, so cars are coming and going for parking spots to open up. We parked there, went to the surprise corner lookout, then walked all the way along the highway to Bow Falls, which was very out of the way because we had to backtrack once we crossed the bridge. I would recommend parking near the bridge on bow river and going from there. There is also a path from downtown banff parking lot across the street from patagonia, but you have to pay to park there. The actual hike is pretty fun, but people everywhere and getting in the way. The path goes along bow river until you get to the falls. There are railings at the end that might get in pictures. Overall pretty cool spot but way too touristy.

Bow Falls is a scenic waterfall located on the Bow River in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is one of the most popular attractions in Banff and well worth a visit when you are in the car and have time. Waiting for a car parking space can take a while
The falls are easily accessible by road and are just a short drive from the town of Banff. Visitors can park in designated parking areas and take a short walk to the viewing platforms overlooking the falls. Overall, Bow Falls is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Banff National Park, offering a perfect opportunity to experience the beauty and majesty of the Canadian Rockies.

Nice gentle walk to Bow falls from town behind Banff centre via Hoodo trial and Suprise corner. Beautiful spot lovely turquoise colour to water. Nice gentle walk back to town alongside river Bow.

Beautiful place to visit while in Banff. There’s parking next to the falls or you can park at the parking of the Banff Springs Hotel and walk 15 minutes to get to the falls.

These falls never disappoint!! Close to town and near the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the Bow River Falls are a great photo backdrop in every season. Parking is plentiful, but because of the easy access, the area can be very busy! Early mornings are best. And, during the summer, it's worth walking up the stairs to grab a bite and beverage at Wlidhaus.

Beautiful place. Most organised tours come here (we came here twice during our vacation), so you're probably going to visit it, and it's worth it. It's beautiful! Now I would like to check out the movie with Marylin Monroe that was filmed here, since both guides mentioned it...

We walked from Banff Ave, took a left, went over the pedestrian bridge, and walked all the way down the path till the falls. It was MAGNIFICENT and a trip highlight. Seeing the Fairmont was a surprise as well. There are stairs a few times, so keep that in mind. Great for kids. The falls are bigger then they appear. Beautiful!

Amazing! No rainfall! Newer boardwalk along the river. We went down to the river. That's cool. I saw people was riding in paddleboats.

Bow Falls is a nice short walk from the centre of Banff or from the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel. It is definitely worth a visit. The falls themselves are quite impressive and the walk along the Bow River is very nice. There are a few stairs to climb.
The Banff Visitor Centre is a great place to start your exploration of Banff. Inside you'll find maps, brochures and information on local hikes, parks and other activities. There's also a souvenir shop where you can buy Canadian favorites like Mountie hats and mittens!
Excellent source of information on things to see and do around Banff and helpful staff!

Friendly and informative Parks Canada staff, official merchandise of Parks Canada, clean public washroom. Very neat building that was originally the only permanent school in Banff. Highly recommended stopping by to explore the history and learn more about what the area may offer.

Gorgeous as always. It was a Saturday and we waited less than 10 minutes to buy our annual pass. The views are breathtaking.

The gentleman we spoke with was such a great help! After a few introductory questions about how long we'll be in town and what were in the mood to do, he pulled out a local map and a highlighter pen and got to work. He was a fountain of great local knowledge! He gave easy to understand directions and encouraged us to consider some activities we hadn't thought about. I am so glad we did! We took a scenic drive and saw some amazing wildlife. He suggested the Cave & Basin Park - totally worth going. With new knowledge of the area in hand, we headed out for a trip full of insider tips and places to go.
I am so grateful to the staff at this Visitor Center! It was a clean friendly place to pop in and get maps or just use the restroom.

Entry to Banff National Park.
A world famous heritage location for nature, and wildlife to explore. You may go into the wild and explore it to its length.
Caution: please do not forget to wear hiking shoes before leaving your house. Please bring some emergency tools with you such as rope, torch, some siren etc.
If you are going to Bear prone area and looking for camping ground, inform relevant authorities before moving. Make sure you use a bonfire near your camping ground at night.
All the best👌✌️👍

Obviously the scenic view is stunning and did not disappoint. Downtown Banff is very crowded even if we went during and off-season time. Recommend driving out to different viewing points which are located along Tunnel Mountain road, where it's less crowed, parking is free, and it's actually in nature. Great experience!

I wish all government support entities were like Banff Visitor Center. Consistently we find the people friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Not only do they know the information you are requesting but so many times they have personal experience to add to their answers. Certainly worth a visit and the washrooms are handy as well.

Great place for everyone. Brings you close to nature and forget everything. Short drive from Calgary. Just the drive itself is worth it. Great small town vibes with beautiful nature as the backdrop.

It’s where nature really praises God. The views are unbelievable, it’s mostly a straight road with clearly marked exits. It cost $21 dollar for our car and we were 3people so I thought that was reasonable. You get a discount for the gondola ride with any Alberta ID (yay locals).. what I don’t get is this culture of taking ride pictures and then charging a whole lot to print it out each, if it was made into a fridge magnet or something I will definitely want it but who wants a hard copy photo for $25 please 🙄🙄. Also visited Lake Louise which was 45mins drive from banff, if you want the lake view go in summer cause it was completely frozen but they built a cute castle on the lake which was cool for pictures and the famous Hotel Fairmont 😍

Their customer service is fantastic. The lady that helped us was very informative and had lots of patience helping us plan two adventures. Never did we feel rushed.

Banff visitor centre should be the first place to head when arriving to banff. The staff is very helpful, providing excellent information. what places to see, and must places to see. If one is taking the ONIT transportation up to Banff. The $10 CAD one way trip cost also includes the local Roam bus in the city of Banff. Otherwise . It will cost an adult $2. CAD. This is still a bargain. I highly recommend going to sulfur mountain and taking the gondola or for those that want to save some $$$. It would take nearly 2 1/2 hours to trek up the rough pathway. Is it worth it? YES!!!!
I spent a nice day trip to Banff. It cost me $20.00 round trip taking the ONIT transport from Calgary. FYI. It only operates Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It obvious the price is subsidized. If one travels to Banff, Monday to Thursday, expect to pay $45.00 CAD one way.
Besides the excellent staff at the visitor centre, The centre has clean restroom. Enjoy Banff, you will not regret it!

Confusing, many steps to walk up. Once at the top it will be crowded. There are two stations to ask questions. You wait in line and find out your in the wrong line, and have to wait in the other. (Hint: the desk to the left is for reservations only. The one to the right is for directions.) Parking is awful. Good luck there.
Only really good thing is that the Employees are very pleasant, and helpful.
Needless to say Bamff will not see me again.
