This was our 2nd year to camp on the beach and it was great! Even taking all the salt and sand back to North TX is worth it lol. The sunrise should never ever be missed! It does get pretty busy especially on the weekend, so land a spot early. Watch the tides.

Beach is very clean! However, at only 60°, it was astonishingly crowded. If you have dogs, you might want to go to the part between markers 55 and 95 for more space.
I don't know of any other beach where you can drive your car to the very edge of the water; just don't get stuck!
PORT ARANSAS Beach Permit required.(purchased at local merchants)

It was windy, but so beautiful! Can't say enough good about this.
Kirk Douglas — Google review
Went down there for Labor Day weekend stayed on the beach it was nice I really enjoyed it got to go fishing on the pier for $4 a person and $3 for each fishing Pole there bait is on the high side.
It's best to go to Walmart and get Shrimp I think I paid $ 5.50
But once you catch a fish you got some bait you won't need no more shrimp.
I got to see the dolphins jumping along the boats and then I even got to see a sea turtle by the jett that was really neat.

I like to drive down early from San Antonio during the week, to take my beach chair and sit at the water's edge, letting the water occasionally roll over me.
After a few hours, I'll grab a bite to eat and head home. Very relaxing day, for me. 🏖

Beautiful beach that you can drive onto (makes setting up camp much easier), not busy/crowded during the weekdays even in high season.
Dennis Kerr — Google review
Mustang Island is a birders paradise and my goodness is it AMAZING in the non summer months when there just isn't any traffic.
Unique little parks and pulloffs are assets to anyone wishing to pad their wildlife lists.

Good place to visit if by yourself or with your family. Fishing is alright have to keep in mind of others. Restrooms clean, in the shower I do recommend crocs or flip flops.

We loved this beach. We love having the ability to park our truck with all of our beach equipment loaded up right on the beach.
So easy and lots of fun.

As always, a very beautiful Texas beach that will forever hold a place in my soul. Relaxed atmosphere away from all the hustle & bustle. Highly recommended for everyone.
The Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center is a nature reserve and bird watching area with a boardwalk and tower providing fantastic views of resident and migratory birds, waterfowl, and marine creatures. Local guides offer free tours every Wednesday at 9am.
Great new boardwalk leading up to a lookout with a telescope. Lots of birds. Today there was a big fat crocodile hanging out in the marsh. So fun. Some people are wearing masks but not much. Not crowded, usually when we go.
Elvia Knoll — Google review
This is probably the best birding place in South Texas. It has a very nice entrance and an extensive boardwalk. The only issue is that the crowds are managed. There's no way to get a unique shot or a different view.
James Rathbun — Google review
This is an amazing birding spot. Even if your not into hirds, it's fun for a nice walk. We saw snakes, fish, an alligator and so many birds. Super fun place to spend a few relaxing minutes.
Britt Orgill — Google review
Wonderful place for viewing wildlife. The boardwalk has planking that absorbs noise and makes walking without startling nearby animals. Unique getaway in a bustling town. I highly recommend this place for families and birders…
David Hesterly — Google review
The birding center is a peaceful little sanctuary near the center of town. Close to everything, but far enough away to lose all the noise, hustle and bustle.
The walkways and towers are all very new, and the dirt paths are really well maintained, so there's a ton of room to walk, explore, and experience the wildlife.
Every night of our stay on Port A, we've ended up here to watch the birds and the sunset.
Tonight, we were lucky enough to spend some time with Boots, the 14 foot alligator that calls this place home.
Shane Roberts — Google review
Fantastic Boardwalk and viewing platforms… the boardwalk looks brand new- saw lots of red fish on my walk and different types of cranes and ducks.
There’s one section that gets a little bit stinky behind the water treatment plant- power through it because the rest of the walk is worth it. It was a peaceful quiet place and there weren’t a lot of people… I will visit again.
Tobin Hays — Google review
Part of the Port A Nature Preserve. We found this to be the best area to see a lot of water birds at a fairly close distance. Right next to the water treatment plant so didn’t like the smell but tolerable. Good signage to ID birds and nice walkways built over the water leading to covered observation towers. The trail continues several miles on if you want to go further to the South area. Every Wed, several local folks provide an interpretive bird walk…Ray was great pointing out birds and answering questions. Bring binoculars and a hat. Definitely go several times as you might see something different every time. We went in the fall when birds migrate, not sure how it is in summer.
DRV — Google review
If you can forgive the fact it's next to a water treatment plant and the transfer station, you'll have a great time. The boardwalk is excellent, but the trail is a bit short. We saw tons of birds and a sleepy alligator. 👍👍
Patricia Adkins — Google review
Need a break from the beach. Take the entire family strollers and all to this park for an up close look at some of Port A, locals. Rosette Spoonbills, alligators, and several other varieties of migrating shorebirds. The bridges make it easy to get a great view of these animals in their natural habitat. The only negative is it's located directly adjacent to water treatment system. Sometimes the odor can be strong depending on which way those wind blows. There is parking however it is limited.
CJ Weinstein — Google review
This is a wonderful bird park and scenic viewing area. Lots of different migratory birds to watch and other water fowl. There is even a local Gator that resides in the marsh. Great for all young and old.
Even easy for those in wheelchairs or power chairs
thomas bailey — Google review
We had a lovely visit. It was a cloudy day, perfect for exploring away from the beach. We saw lots of birds and enjoyed the walk out over the water.
Melinda Brasher — Google review
This place was really nice ♡ I love boots, the gator and all the cute birds! It's also a really great place to do wildlife photography, I hope to visit again soon!
Luna Delafuente — Google review
We enjoyed our time exploring the boardwalk and the many types of birds in the area. "Boots, the alligator was quite the sight to see.
Jennifer Cushing — Google review
Have now visited the Birding Center a couple of times in my visits to Port A. I am not an avid birder by any means, but simply enjoy checking out new spots! The boardwalk at the Center is very nice and easy to use, and you can see many birds here. There is also a large alligator that I have seen here (below the baordwalk!) a couple of times! Visiting the Birding Center is a great way to get outside, see some nature and get some walking in. I'd recommend this place to serious bird watchers but also to regular folks/families who want to enjoy nature and take in something free to do!
Paige Olmstead — Google review
By far my favorite birding place in the corpus Christi area. So many birds and a crocodile 🐊 easy walk for people who aren’t use to walking.
Karly H (Exploring the lakes!) — Google review
Wide variety of birds. Even an alligator who tried to catch the birds on the shore but they were too fast for him. Lots of raised walking paths and observation platforms.
Peggy Ferron — Google review
Neat place with a lot of different wildlife. Birders paradise. No dogs allowed to protect the wildlife.

The ferry most definitely gets a fare amount of travelers. The staff are efficient at getting everyone staged & docked making for a smooth experience. We enjoyed the short ride across. A pod of dolphins made their appearance playing and fishing as we waited and it made the trip.
Brandy Leonard — Google review
Quick as can be, on top of directions, ferry maintained well and all very friendly people. Pointed out the dolphins and where to see the sea turtles too. The little extras make the difference.
J T — Google review
Y'all need to update the wait time feed more often. Every other hour on a holiday weekend is not enough. We could have gone around. Update 15-20 minutes to the actual time to get across. There are bigger ferries now but the line is just as slow.
Al Scates — Google review
First time on this ferry, and it went really smooth, didn't have to wait in line at all. Although, I would think it would have been easier to just build a bridge, it's not likely it's all that far .
Scott Wylie — Google review
Less than 5 minute ride when it gets going.15 minute wait between ferries. Ferries constantly coming and going. I think there are 6 ferries total, but only 3 active at that time. Ferry staff squeeze in as many cars as they can,(I think they can fit one row of 8 or 10 cars, with five rows total, so probably 30 to 50 cars at a time. Your supposed to stay in your car and turn off engine, your so packed in cant open car doors fully) Saw a dolphin swimming away from the ferry where I was looking(not in photo).

We got to see some dolphins🐬 while on the ferry ⛴, it was something unexpected.
Good times in the bay! No fish but we had fun! The weather was changing so probably why no fish... NOT their Fault! Ty
William S — Google review
We did the 6 hours trip and we had a good time, you get to keep 2 fish per person and it was very relaxing. The crew boys are friendly and ready to help when needed. If you like to fish it is a very nice experience.
Sandra Hernandez — Google review
Such a nice crew. They knew the best spots to see the dolphins and made a great end to the trip going passed the end of the jetties! I would 1000% suggest this for kids and even for adults too! The sunset was unbelievable
Kyle Lawson — Google review
We went on the 6hr trip last Saturday. Boat limited out on snapper within like 35 minutes. They then took us to a spot for sharks and several people caught. We ended up catching 3 ourselves. We will definitely be back to use them again. Deck hands were very helpful and courteous.
Albert Flores — Google review
Great time on the 3 hour bay fishing charter. Corbin and Darryl were the best! We caught 45lbs of fish 25+. Had them cleaned really inexpensively. The kids and adults had a great time!
Ken Butler — Google review
My hubby and I have a wonderful time. We booked the 9h trip, catch snappers, king fish, shark ans many more. The deck crews was amazing. Thank you all, staff and captain for this amazing journey.

If you haven’t experienced deep sea fishing yet and want a dependable fishing vessel to go out on with experienced captains and crew this is your destination.
The ScatCat and WharfCat get you to the fish gliding on waves and the air conditioning in the galley with concessions is a life saver.
I use this outfitter when planning every deep sea adventure.

I dont remember everyone's name today, but the entire experience and staff were excellent today! Thanks for helping give my hubs a great Father's Day!
UPDATE: back home and two of us wanted blackened, and two of us wanted light breading, but this snapper Slaps!😋

8 of us were taken out for the 6 hour Deep-Sea Fishing tour and it was a ton of fun!! Our guides were incredibly interactive and made the experience very memorable. We saw dolphins, small sharks, barracuda, snappers, and much more. Will definitely come back!!

It was our first time going to this area to fish. Decklands knew what they were doing and helped out with my kiddos.
Everyone was kind of disappointed that no keeper fish were caught (I blame the full moon), but sharks put up a hell of a fight! and there were an abundance of them. Def will come out again and try for 9 hour plus. Hopefully reel in my first mahi-mahi...
Anthony Carrello — Google review
I took a nine hour trip on the Wharf Cat on June 9th. Everyone limited out on red snappers. The deckhands were great and made sure that everyone had a successful trip. They are a hard working crew that works well together.
Make sure you tip them well.
This was such a fun place to go and my kids loved it!

First of all they have a very nice greeter there. Secondly its FREE. Third the place has interactive stuff that is a fun way for kids to learn. Lastly its not huge so you don't have to spend forever. Great staff great litke fun place. Highly reccomend

Went today.. this place has no HRs saying anything. Called and it doesn’t even go to a voicemail. So disappointed my family was looking forward to this but I guess they don’t want our business! Very low prospect and I am so angry we couldn’t go in!

This place is a wonderful gem in Rockport. Very educational, informative volunteers and interactive exhibits for kids of all age groups. Free/donation entry. My husband and I had fun going together and we love bringing our friends and their kids too.
Oh, and movie nights!

Me and my friends went on a cold day during spring break and loved it! It's small but full of fun things and plenty of fish, fossils and information to look at!! There is this really trippy purple fish and he's so cool!! Worth the visit! Staff is very nice and it's free!!!!!! Love it! And the fish!! Great for all ages! We are in high school and it was very entertaining:)
Margaret Marable — Google review
This small local aquarium is free and SO worth seeing. Staffed by local volunteers, this gem has wonderful tanks filled with mostly local fish, has a great shell collection, and plenty of information on the area waters. Come in, spend some time, and make a donation! The fish will thank you!
Casey T (OK2BU) — Google review
Relaxed, fun place. Admission is free/by donation.Staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Kids had a great time. It is a small, non-profit; expect to spend no more than 30-45 minutes here.
Crystal Bradley — Google review
This place is not huge, but it is amazing for its smaller size. They really can pack a lot of aquatic animals into one admission free trip to this place. They also have a little house looking building where you go to learn more about certain mammals. I do recommend this place to people of all ages.
Cole Cieslewicz — Google review
Small place but it's free, you can give a tip when you go in which was great, especially since I have 5 kids. They had different fish and other ocean life and some activities for the kids. And a small gift shop with reasonable prices. Great place to stop by if you get a chance
The Texas Maritime Museum showcases the Gulf Coast's rich history through various exhibits and artifacts, including those related to pirates, fishing, and oil drilling. It is run by volunteers and funded primarily through donations. The museum offers a comprehensive overview of maritime history along the Texas Coast, from major battles to lesser-known moments. Visitors can also enjoy an observation tower on the third floor with stunning views. Highlights include models of offshore rigs and pictures of lighthouses. Don't miss the outdoor exhibits as well!
As many times as I have been to Rockport, I had not been to the Texas Maritime Museum. So I went for the first time, and I must say it is an absolute must!

Great little museum, kids enjoyed it

My family visited while on vacation and glad we did. It was a nice museum with so much information. The kids liked that they could touch things. The kids also enjoyed the small gift shop. Local artists on display.
Erica Dominguez — Google review
Awesome museum! Really enjoyed just about everything. The models of the off shore rigs and the pictures of the light houses were great. I enjoyed the video but missed the first half. Welp, it's only on the hour so I guess I'll never see the beginning lol. Don't forget the outside parts!
Patricia Adkins — Google review
It would be a great donation accepted museum, but it isn't what they are charging for admission. The staff was almost friendly. The museum is small with three floors, but on of the floors is just the observation platform with no displays. The boat out back and the two life raft ships are neat, though I wish you could actually get on them. We were worried we wouldn't have enough time to see the museum before they closed, but the entire thing only took approximately 45 minutes to explore. If it was a free/donation accepted museum then it would have been good. At $28 for four adults it was a rip off. We have been to way better museums that were free. I would recommend passing on visiting this place.
Chris Bloomfield — Google review
My husband and I are on vacation in Rockport, visiting from Austin. Since the weather had turned cooler we decided to go check this place out. It was very interesting. We both enjoyed looking at everything. You can go to the very top on the 3rd floor and look out over the bay and then see the ocean. You can also see lots and lots of boats. The entire view from way up there is spectacular!! I really loved how beautiful it was! I recommend this place to everyone.
Lisa Sapp — Google review
This is a nice museum. It is well laid out and is a good background on Texas maritime history. We liked the ship models and the items in the display cases. Great view from the observation deck on the 3rd floor. Small outdoor display is nice too.
We spent about an hour at the museum which was the perfect amount of time.
Worth a visit when you need a break from the beach.
Thanks!

This is a hidden gem in the community. A great place to stop by if you are going to Corpus Christi. It has many great exhibits, and don't miss out on the outdoors, where you can see a WW2 searchlight, the only scow sloop existing, and some buoys around. Be sure to grab the scavenger hunt for a prize!
Free Admission
Great views of the beautiful bay!

Small but very entertaining and interesting
Jo Hilliard — Google review
Great little museum run by volunteers and donations. I love history, especially Texas history, and despite how much I know, I never really learned too much about maritime history unless it was some big battle or some such. Walking around learning about all the different moments in history along the Texas Coast was great! The observation tower on the 3rd floor is a must go to! I will definitely return to see the muesum!
Torey D — Google review
This museum has little bit of everything from the history of Spanish discovery of the region to commercial fishing, lighthouses, boat building and marine oil exploration. They also have an extensive maritime based library. New exhibits are in the process of being added. Staff was most friendly and informative. This is a good place to spend a few hours exploring!
Rockport Beach Park is a family-friendly destination with calm waters, a playground, and a pavilion. The sandy beach is perfect for younger children since there are very few waves or currents. There are plenty of picnic tables throughout the park along with restrooms and showers that are always kept clean. Although seagulls abound, dogs or other pets aren't allowed.
Great park! They have a sandy beach with very few waves and current. It's great for smaller kids. There are many covered picnic tables throughout as well as restrooms, showers, and all the seagulls you'd like to feed. It is $10 for the day or $40 for an annual pass.
Anthony Little — Google review
Great place to bring your kids and family. There is a cost to enter the park for $10 but its well worthy. There are many gazebos where you can bbq, and as well as kids playing areas . There are two set of volleyball nets. The bathroom has a nice shower area at the pavilion. There is an area at the end where is very calm. The place is not deep at all, so it's very safe for kids.
Jaddiel Perez — Google review
This is a lovely place. Plenty of free water-side parking and benches and areas to walk on the sand. There is a wonderful walking and fishing pier (free). You can pay to get into the park proper, not sure how much, but cheap enough. Inside the park are bbq areas, gazebos, picnic areas, and bathrooms. There’s a sectioned off area of bay, that is calm and shallow for little ones to swim.
Robin Quattlebaum — Google review
Had a great time with my family. There is a small part of the beach that allows for dogs too.
The water was warm and clean. A person can wade out for about 150 yards at least. So if you're looking for shallow water it's great.
Paul Maletsky — Google review
Great area to take the family. I loved that the children were able to walk in the ocean. The amenities are convenient to wash the sand off before getting in the vehicle.
william cardozo — Google review
This was my first time here. I've always didn't pay, but never stopped until this past weekend. Best decision ever. Exceptionally clean beach, not over crowded, and perfectly safe swim area for toddlers and younger kids. First time I've been to the beach and I didn't have to worry about my kids, and was able to thoroughly enjoy myself. There is also a playground, a small bar with a stage for love bands, good clean restrooms and showers, picnic tables and tiki covers.
Tara Knowles — Google review
I was lucky to be there just before spring break. Almost deserted but what a great place to hang out. Lots of sand and water. Birds everywhere and the Laughing Gulls were so noisy. It was great. Only $10 for a day pass and cheap considering the experience.

NO DOGS/ PETS. Clean, clean , clean. Looks similar to the Galveston beaches, just much cleaners. No dogs allowed, sorry Fido. Great free 'Palapa-umbrellas'. Lots of parking. Nice folks working the gate. Lots of folks celebrating the New Year!!

I really liked the Rockport Beach. I have been to Florida beaches a lot and they are beautiful, but you can't compare Texas beaches to Florida beaches, geologically they were made differently. People were talking so much about the jellyfish at Rockport. They were not a problem unless you went clear out close to the drop-off. The water was clean and warm. It is very shallow for quite a ways which is great for the kiddos and parents to feel safer. 😀 We parked by the shower and toilet buildings which were great. They even have an outdoor shaded patio upstairs on the second building you can reserve and an inside room you can reserve as well for parties, receptions etc. The only issue we had was stepping on a fire ant nest at the edge of the parking lot and getting stung. We really had a good time otherwise. I think people just like to find something negative. It's a great Texas beach.
Roberta Melone — Google review
Perfect spot for families with small kids, very shallow Waters and the Beach is real clean, is only $10/car for the whole day. And the best of all it has restrooms 🚽 and shower 🚿 No Pets allowed 🚫
Oscar Jimenez — Google review
Great location for a relaxing day at the beach. Clean beach sandbars go really far out so you can go pretty far before the water gets too deep. The cabanas provide shade so all you need is a chair and a towel to stake out your spot. Usually not too busy. Day pass is $10/car or $40 for the year pass.

Beautiful beach. Warm water. The sun in October feels amazing. Very clean. Nice people all around. Go wade in the water and enjoy. BBQ pits available.

Beautiful beach area with restrooms, showers (necessary for the amount of sand I carried into the changing room), well-kept shade huts, and good parking areas.
The only complaint was the amount of plastic bottle caps and cigarette butts on the beach. Not really fault of the beach care takers, but humans are pigs!
Sally Dulinsky — Google review
Nice clean beach with picnic tables with shade, jungle gyms for the kids, swim beach, and a dock that you can walk out on and fish.

Great beach! Shallow entry great for kids and grandkids. You can walk out 100byeards and still be at your knees or hips. This beach can get crowded, but ways enjoyable. $10 per day or $40 yearly pass.

The Best ! Clean, no pets on the beach or in the water ! 😀 Love the tiki huts on the beach to sit under, perfect. Lots of play areas for children, perfect for families. Pavillion for bathroom as well as some Port A potties. Also a Salt Water pool at the end. So great!
Goose Island State Park spans across 320 acres of marsh and prairie. The park is well-designed, and visitors can enjoy a range of recreational activities in the stunning natural surroundings. One of the highlights is a tree that dates back over 1,000 years. Guided bird walks are available led by experts, Jane and Les, who offer valuable insights into local species.
Beautiful. We stayed at the RV spots on the bay and I honestly did not want to leave. The park is well kept and breathtaking, with birds everywhere and lots of places to fish and walk. The town of Rockport was full of sites along the bay and delicious seafood. I'd go back and recommend to friends. Great park.

The people employed here are simply wonderful. They are as accommodating as they are professional and very much seem to enjoy their work and coworkers.
This park has two basic areas, water/woods, which basically means; slightly more expensive/ less for the woods..more wind/less wind..less mosquitoes/more mosquitoes..less wildlife/more critters..less privacy/more so in the woods.
Nice fishing pier. Good bike ridding. The Big Tree is nearby.
We stayed waterside in a 25' class C.

Quiet and peaceful, great fishing in the morning and evening at the pier. The best baits to use are shrimp and crab. The park is clean and maintained well. We just left there and are already planning to go back next month. This park is dog friendly, and restrooms and shower rooms are clean as well

This park is one of the places I loved the most. The fishing pier area is just awesome for a day trip or fishing. You'll be seeing crystal clear water that flows over the shallow bay area covered with oyster shells. The natural area (Photos) are great place for birdwatching and you may see pelicans, seagulls and some rare species of birds limited to a very few number. In my opinion, this is a fantastic spot for nature lovers.

Such a beautiful park! Well laid out. But the best thing about the park are the bird walks guided by Jane & Les, 2 - 3 times per week. Their knowledge of birds is unmatched, and along with birding tales and tips to remember birds by, makes such an enjoyable outing. We attended at least 2 per week for the month we were in Rockport. Highly recommend for whatever level birder you are.

Goose Island State Park is one of my favorite parks to go to. I love to fish in my kayak. Every time I've gone I've caught a few redfish not too big but still fun to catch catch and release. I have yet to catch some slot reds but i wont give up!! The kids like going to the pier and fishing off the pier. My daughter cought her first flounder there!!she is 4 y/o . Now shes HOOKED ON FISHING!!!! Cant tell you what a blessing that is. My son is 6 y/o LOVES TO FISH. He is autistic but there is something special about fishing that calms him down. Hes is a true blessing to us . Very wonderful Park a lot of scenery nice trails to walk. A special thanks to the game wardens that take care of the fishery of the place. One of them was kind enough to take the time to talk to my children and give them high fives!! Thank you very much for what you guys do. It's because of you're hard work, dedication, and protection of our Fishery and other game and non-game animals/fish that we get to enjoy the outdoors with our families. Thank you all!! God bless you all!!!

January 2024 - 4 nights in Bayfront #38.3 nights in #150, wooded area.
Ill break it down the park, the Bayfront & the Wooded area.
The Park.we camped here in a Renegade super C, 38, 13-1/2 tall.
Watch your overhead but no real issues getting here.
The Park is well maintained with courteous & friendly staff. We were here just after a freeze so water had just been turned back onthere was a boil notice.
The Wooded site, #150 -
Easy to back into with just enough room for our Rubicon. Electric and water were convenient although we had to book a 30 amp site. No real issues. Comes with a picnic table on a slab and a fire ring. Youre surrounded by a thicket so its very private. Site was clean and fairly level (asphalt, new by the way). Shadyif there is ever any sun.
Noteof the 7 nights hereit rained all but two1.5" in one day. Come prepared.
The Bayfront site, #38
Ill sum it upif it had been asphalt,,,Id rate it a 7it was not it rained 3of the 4 days. It was sandy mud.
We setup in a pouring rain. The site was so unlevel that at one point our stairs got stuck in the sand/mud.
We tried to park with our windshield aimed at the ocean but our electric cord was 5 ft too short. After a deluge of 2 days of rain, we were surrounded in sandy mud. Put a bucket of water at the front door to wash our shoes before entering..it helped. The dog.hmm..it was a mess. Beautiful views. Was it worth it.Im not sure.

This place is amazing! The Bayfront campsites are right on the water. They have water and electricity. They also have a small shelter with a picnic table. We did catch a few small drum from our campsite but the weather was quite cool, may have been better if the water was warmer.

Enjoyed our time at Goose Island State Park!! The park rangers provided excellent customer service and very friendly & helpful. We initially had a camp site in the wooded area although nice but some may be a little too secluded. Oh not to mention the SKEETERS were bad so glad we were able to get a campsite on the water where it was really nice & breezy. We opted out for one right on the bay and although not as pretty (no trees) being right on the water was really nice! We loved being able to fish a few feet from our campsite oh and the sunrises & sunsets were beautiful! The restrooms & showers were in excellent shape & very clean! Everyone at the park was very friendly. We loved bike riding and taking our walks every morning after our coffee ☕️Will definitely come back:)

This park was so well maintained and we really enjoyed the views! I would highly recommend a stay here. The bathrooms were very nice, the best I've used at a state park.

Beautiful, park has beach front lots that comes with 50 amp service plus water. There is also a cement gazebo on each spot. Love the view from the front window ❤️

This is me and my Nana's favorite park. We keep revisiting this place. The nature trail really immerses you in the forest. With natural unpaved paths, you are walking between the trees and shrubbery and are able to really feel the magic of the earth. This is a great place for meditation and a very relaxing stroll through the wonders of the world. They also have a fishing pier, the bathrooms are kept very clean. There are camping sites along the bay and in the forest, and there is a big tree that is around 300 years old you can walk around and see. Goose Island is the ultimate immersive experience for nature lovers. If you are looking for a getaway, Goose Island is where you should go.

It us $5 fee entrance, do I decided to skip going inside but I went to the shore and walk by the water. I saw lot of birds. Sea shells and beautiful white sand. Big tree is a outside of main park and I drove there to see it.

This state park is a treasure. My family camped one night on the beach and one night at the inland campground. They were both clean and well taken care of with all amenities working properly. I went out on the fishing pier with my son twice and although we didn't have much luck there were plenty of families hauling in ladyfish and drum.

Great camping. Overall, it was great. If camping in an RV, there is low water pressure some days. Birders will like the many locations to view bird life.

This park is amazing! We attended the first day birding tour and it was EXCELLENT! The two volunteer guides were incredibly kind and knowledgeable and provided a wonderful experience. We saw 50 species of birds and had a great time! Even without the tour I would have enjoyed the park, but this sealed the deal! A great way to spend the morning.
Attraction with native & exotic wildlife, plus a petting zoo, aviary & camps for kids.
This zoo may be small, but I love it. I like it much better than the Houston zoo, even though the Houston zoo is much bigger. The Texas zoo has better programs, is more educational, and everyone who works there is always friendly and happy to talk about the animals. My family has visited from out of town repeatedly over the years, and we always have a great time.

Small zoo focused on conservation and protection of animals. I enjoyed the educational content scattered throughout the habitats. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bonus is the park that the Zoo is housed in it has tennis courts, playgrounds, a golf course and walking trails with much more.

What animals we did see were pretty cool. I'd say we got to see Mayne 50% of the inhabitants but still paid full price.
Place is tiny and relatively maintained well.

Really cool zoo, but a little bit on the small side. We took our one year old daughter and she had a blast at the peacock walking around, she really liked the otters, and birds. The bear viewing area is really neat to watch the bears play and hang out.

It was a beautiful day to visit the zoo. We visited around 1pm. The zoo was not super busy being it was spring break. All of the animals were in action today. The bears were playing together, the tamarin monkeys were out and about, and the otters were playing too. The red wolves were howling, the javelins were active, the turtles were roaming, and the donkey, zebra, goats, deer, emus, and pigs were out enjoying the sun. It was very fun today. Loved it.

They have so many amazing animals and reptiles. It is a small zoo, you would think it would be better kept. There was trash in some of the enclosures. We felt sorry for most of them.

Although small in comparison to some other zoos, The Victoria Zoological Park was a wonderful way to pass some time in Victoria TX.

We always have so much fun here! It's a small zoo but the experience is so great! There is animal food pellet dispensers thru the zoo to be able to feed the ducks and peacocks. Do wish they were part of AZA so we could use our membership discounts. They used to be but lost accreditation because the zoo is in a flood plane. They should be grandfathered in the membership program but we're dropped. The zoo is working towards regaining accreditation with AZA and possibly ZAA, which caters to smaller zoos.

What a cute little zoo. It is small but not full of people and is only $10.50 per adult to get in. I really recommend it for a relaxing zoo visit. The animals are pretty much reachable also.

This zoo is actually so fun. We were pleasently surprised to see that they had so many animals. We happened to be there while the wolf and the Coyotes started howling, very cool! I only wish that the deer pen wasn't so muddy, kind of looks gross and uncomfortable for the animals.
Hunter Hallinan — Google review
It is a smaller zoo but everything is maintained well. Went on a family outing and enjoyed every second, would recommend.

This zoo is quite small, but it’s still a wonderful place to visit! It’s nothing grand like the Houston zoo, where you’ll have to plan the entire day to see all the animals. You can probably be done in an hour and have seen everything.
But the people are so nice and accommodating. The staff is willing to answer any questions you have about the animals and they seem like they’re very passionate. The animals itself always seem to have a clean exhibit and the wandering peacocks sure are fun!
The price is fair and I’d definitely recommend getting a membership for you plan on going more than once as it’ll basically pay for itself after 3 visits.

Small compared to other zoos but it is absolutely obvious that this is one of the best maintained facilities in the state. Plenty of shade, no waits and just an all around good time. If you are ever driving from Houston to Corpus I 100% recommend stopping in Victoria and visiting the zoo.

Fun stop if you're in the area. Lots of native animals for viewing. Not crowded either...needs a bit of touching up.
I’m just doing this review for the entire Riverside Park even though it’s labeled only for the boat ramp. I’ve never used the boat ramp but I’ve included a photo of it here. There’s a lot to do in the park there are playgrounds, sports, the zoo, pebble beach, the duck pond which is being renovated, the Rose garden, etc. it’s usually very peaceful and is a good place for parties, or photography, fishing, or just a good workout on the trail. It’s also a fairly good size for the towns size I think! Lots to do!

Awesome beach with covered picnic tables and shade umbrellas. Has pier for fishing and a boardwalk. Also has playgrounds. The only downside is that you cannot drive onto the beach. IT IS HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE! There is a sidewalk from the parking lot to the water that connects to a picnic table.

Lighthouse Beach is perfect for people who fish and beach goers. Awesome playground and swimming pad for the kiddos! Clean restrooms and grounds. Bird sanctuary area is pretty nice, beautiful in the morning and absolutely stunning as the sun is setting! Fishers have fishing license on hand ( they do random checks on pier) my husbands only complaint is the Rv sewer waste line sticks up to high, hard to drain which isn’t a deal breaker. Shout out to Manager Jennifer excellent customer service and hostess!

Its a nice little area . Has a large covered area with picnic tables and bbq pits to grill if you want. There was a Volleyball area but be careful with sticker patches. I saw a cute Splash pad for kids with a beach theme. The beach is very clean with palm trees, little covered areas that have grass skirt decorations to provide shade from the sun. There is a restroom area nearby for men and women. Also a large playground on the beach for kids to have fun

We recently tent camped through a holiday weekend. Before booking, I read through reviews and saw that multiple people noted clean and well-maintained bathrooms. After our time spent in Texana, I am very confused by these reviews. The bathrooms are absolutely not clean and multiple bathrooms/showers are in need of repair.
Comfort station #1 was the one closest to our site. Just walking up to the building, I noticed how dirty it was and that it had an active wasp nest (it turned out that most of the bathroom buildings did) in the entry way. Inside, the paint was peeling off of the walls everywhere and there was a collection of dead bugs/scorpions in the light fixtures that had clearly been there for a long time. The first bathroom stall was dirty with a clogged toilet and an overflowing sanitary trash can, the second one had a door that didn’t latch, and the third one had far too many live and dead bugs around the walls and floor.
I went to another bathroom, and it was a bit better, but in no way was it clean or in good condition. The shower I used would only put out barely lukewarm water and it had an old/broken shower head that sprayed water everywhere. The shower my husband used also only put out cold water and it had dirty, rusted and corroded knobs. The campground was fully booked the weekend we stayed, so I expected them to ensure their facilities were taken care of while they had so many people there.
All of their bathrooms and showers are in need of a deep cleaning and some pest control. I do not recommend tent camping here unless you have your own camp bathroom and shower. I give 3 stars still because they have great sites that can offer plenty of space and privacy, so it really is a shame that they neglect their bathrooms so badly.

We stayed on the Brackenridge side ( Jan20-March 11th, in 2 different sites. This is a great park, quiet with natural beauty and wildlife, very well maintained and the staff of great. The only down side I can see was the extreme wind forever howling through the lake area and the general layout putting most sites in circles exposed to the constant wind ( great for summer but not in the winter) . If you go in the winter, choose a site as far away from the water as you can get, or go to the Texana side. We started in lot 76( the map is not correct, this lot is almost perfectly broad side to the lake) in 30 days , we had 4 calm days. One day the wind was so severe we couldn’t open our RV door. Plus this circle of sites is on a bit of a peninsula sticking out in the lake with no wind break. We moved back to a different site for the last 3 weeks and were much happier without the wind. By no means any fault of the park, but something to consider. Most lots have nice large trees. There is washer/dryer in shower buildings 1 and 3 . Building 1 has the better washer/dryer, building 3’s set needs maintenance but still a nice feature to have. Bring your own change. We felt safe and secure the entire time, 0 issues. We would go to this park again , but would consider the lot orientation carefully.

We always enjoy our time at Texana. Whether you like to glamp in tents or park a fifth wheel, they have plenty of spots (many on the water) to set up with water and power for each lot. The rest room/shower buildings ate ALWAYS clean and well maintained and the playgrounds are safe for your kids and grandkids. Located directly across from Brackenridge Recreation Complex, there is always something to do and trails to hike. Come for a weekend or a week - you'll be glad you did!

Just completed our first stay at Texana Park & Campground near Edna, Tx. Camped with another couple and absolutely loved our two sites adjacent to each other, but very much apart with so much room between our rigs and behind us to the lake. Full hookups, clean restrooms, courteous staff.
Accidentally was given the wrong re-entry code for after hours, but was quickly corrected. Also, was told they did not honor Good Sam, but in fact, they do. So was granted a refund on our total amount charged.
All in all, we will be back for more great RV camping at this location. Thank you Texana Park & Campground.

This place is awesome!!!! I love camping here. Actually affordable prices, $35 a night to camp (that includes a $5 online reservation fee) I used to camp at Coleleto Creek, another nearby camping spot from Victoria but they charge double that to camp there for the same thing.
But yeah I love this place, the staff was really nice, the land is nice, I haven't caught any fish yet but I hope my luck changes soon. Tons of deer too and armadillos.
Great place to camp!!! I love it here. They also have a little shop at the entrance if you need to buy any camping supplies, firewood, etc.

It's funny no1 mentions the alligators!! People were swimming rite where there were alligators!! After they left I let my dogs loose just to run up & down the shore & into the water where people were swimming & had their dogs. Not 5 mins later there were 3 large alligators right where my dogs had been, I'd say this was a very close call!! Be careful there are alligators lurking in the picnic area!! See pics

Lake Texana was very nice! 40 minutes from my home, no traffic, no issues, just a nice and easy trip.
Park has lots of camping areas to fit your needs. If you have a camper/RV, there are numerous spots available with power, sewer, and water hook up. If you're using a tent, there are spaces everywhere. If you want to be near the lake, there's space. If you want to be in a more secluded area, they have you covered. All camping areas are equiped with pits for BBQ as well as pre dug fire pits with folding grates that cover half the pit in case you want to cook over a real open flame! The grate is also beneficial as a safety mechanism as well as a convenient area to place a smore while cooking it.
Overall, the insects weren't too bad at this time of year, but be forewarned, there are plenty of scorpions wandering around, so take precaution. Of course, there is ample wildlife that can be seen while in the park as well. Everything from alligators, deer, armadillos, raccoon, and birds of prey.
Lake Texana is a great place to get away for a weekend to refresh, recharge and reconnect with nature or to spend a week or more just enjoying the great outdoors.
If you go the tent way of camping, the lake is equipped with indoor restrooms for men & women as well as shower facilities. The water may not be the warmest, but it serves the purpose.
We were there the weekend prior to Halloween and the park staff do an amazing job putting on a small fair with eats, games for the kids, and a haunted trail for those brave enough to take the walk! The park staff provide hay rides to and from the camping area to the fair as well as a shuttle for guests who just want to partake in the fair without camping.
I will absolutely be taking my family back in an RV in the near future!
We had my granddaughters birthday party here today and it was fantastic!

It's the people...and the place. The experience is made richer by the people you "meet" while walking through the exhibits. They tell the history through the "voices" of those that were there. The large house is unfurnished, but open so you can fill the space with each Era from what you learned through the exhibits.

Rich in history. Such an important site to visit in Texas. Kennedy is an amazing tour guide! Kennedy and the archeologist that was on-site helped to connect artifacts, the land and personal stories so that the experiences of our ancestors can be better understood.

Varner-Hogg Plantation's grounds are stunning! The historic information is presented from the lived experiences of the land owners/keepers and the slaves. The presentation of the history is what I liked the most. Also, during the holidays, the home and outbuildings are decorated and allow you to take photos. I recommend visiting this plantation simply because Texas doesn't have many plantations preserved this well, in my opinion.

Nearest historic plantation site from Houston. Not many buildings remaining. Nice quiet poignant site with its history of slavery, sugar plantation and oil fields.
6 miles of hiking & biking trails on 663 forested acres, with a lodge, shelters & camping areas.
Very cute hiking paths. We had half a day and hiked nearly all trails. Interesting amount of diversity of plant growth in the different sections. Beautiful weather made it all the better. Only consolation was the sewage smell for a portion of our hike and one of the trails being not accessible at the time. But the bathroom was VERY clean appearing especially compared to other state parks!

This was a really nice and quiet park. We are trying to get to each statepark in Texas. I was able to buy a magnet from this park. The shop was one of the best I have seen. There were so many cute things. I wanted them all! The Rangers were nice. The bathrooms were real flushing toilets, so that was a plus. We had a picnic and took a short walk. My pup decided she had enough walking. And the mosquitos were out in force.

Stephen F. Austin State Park has many trails all of which are short and easy. Head here for quiet stroll. Camping and day passes are available here. It was a pretty place but nothing that stood out as spectacular which is why it got 4 stars. We LOVED the park! The trails are beautiful, well kept, and fun for both biking & hiking! The restrooms/showers are so clean and nice. I love that the sites are all pull-throughs, but I wish there was a little more space between some of the sites. All in all, GREAT park!

Nice park not too far from Houston to take a nice stroll. Today, we saw plenty of beautiful birds, lizzards, spiders, deer and a cute armadillo! The park was also decorated for Halloween which is also a nice twist. The only reason I didn't give the park 5 stars is because the bathrooms need some work, I couldn't even close the door to the stall because it wasn't aligned with the lock.

This was a fun place to go camping. No real topography (i.e., hills - very flat) but lots of trees. Initially we were in the more expensive campground. Had showers, hot water and a Dyson hand blower in the bathrooms. However, there was also a couple of large scout troops that came to camp and they were LOUD. Playing football right behind our tent instead of in their area. Nice they outside, but made our experience less than enjoyable. So the second day we moved to the other camping location - primitive. Cheaper and SO much nicer. Quiet. So quiet. Bathrooms did not have showers, hot water or the fancy Dyson blower, but did I mention how quiet everything was. We even saw deer run through. So much nicer. Thankful to the Rangers for letting us switch campsites. All the campsites have to be reserved, so you need to check if the site is available to be reserved. There is a nice series of hiking trails around the area walking from the campgroun. We walked a total of four miles. Not too bad. So many beautiful stars that second night in the quiet with lots of dark.

I love this State Park. My husband and I really love camping and have been a lot of places throughout Texas. We live in Katy, so only 30 minutes up the road from this park. For the convenience it totally deserves 5 stars alone. I knock one star just because there’s no water resource to fish in, and the play activities for kids is pretty slim. We found ourselves trying to figure out stuff to do to keep my 3 year old entertained. It would be awesome if it had a better playground! Overall, the park was clean, the tent spaces were spread out really well, and the bathrooms were very nice. The grill on the fire was adjustable, and for us that’s important since we cook everything over the fire. Just an FYI- this is also a camping spot where you can’t gather wood or you will be fined, so be sure to bring wood with you when you come.

Great place to go camping. They have full hook ups for trailers, tent spots, and cabins you could also stay in. Beautiful trails with so many wild dew berries if you come at the right season. The trails are beautiful, and some off map trails as well. One off map trail can also lead you to the shore of the brazos river, although it's a steep incline, and off map so caution when going off map. Overall had a great experience here with the family. Also the park pass let's you go camping at any Texas state Park for free for one year.

This state park is on the smaller side, but worth visiting. It has really enjoyable hiking trails with a variety of wildlife. One trail goes back to the Brazos River, and it has a great place to picnic. The primitive camping sites are well maintained, and the more advanced sites are a perfect place to feel like you have the body of both worlds. There is a wonderful nature center. I would love for it to be open more! Most importantly, I always feel safe here, and the Park Rangers are awesome! Great for solo adventurers or quality time with your family!

Came here to hike a few days into the new year with my 6yo and we had a great time. The gift shop lady was nice and they had a big selection of patches/pins since we collect those. My son’s only complaint was their playground only had a set of swings, which he was very disappointed by, but otherwise we had a great time.
Morgan Whitney — Google review
I’ve camped here many times and the only bad experiences have been due to other campers, not anything with the park.
The proximity to the river can make some sites quite humid, which means winter camping can get very cold. There’s a good bit of bare dirt at the primitive sites, but the drainage is great so any mud dries out pretty quickly.
Beware the raccoons: they’re very bold and will happily haul off food… or anything else you leave out overnight. Also be aware of the bees - there are a LOT of them, which is nerve wracking if you’re allergic.

We were camping with our pack. My youngest son is in cubscouts, and Fall Camp was here. It is a beautiful park with trails, a playground and a big area for camping. We were around 60 people. Bathrooms and showers close to camp. Only complaint was that family bathrooms were disgusting. Maybe cause they were a lot of scout packs camping at the same time. Other than that, everything was fine.

Very well maintained and easy to follow trail. Good for hiking, camping and enjoying nature. We’ve seen a group of deer and lots of unique birds.it’s fun!
Home of an observatory, lakes & fishing, plus hiking/biking trails, camping & lots of alligators.
Brazos Bend State Park was an awesome state park to visit southwest of Houston. Great trails with my favorite being Elm Lake Trail around the lake as this is where I saw a large alligator basking in the afternoon sun, right by the trail!! Apparently he was on the trail prior! Tons of wildlife seen here from the variety of birds, alligators (spotted 4 of em), opossum, bunnies, and a Great Horned Owl whose 2 chicks just hatched at the front of the park. I’d highly recommend visiting; it is highly rated as you can see. I camped here and the showers and bathrooms are well kept. It’s a great state park!

Where to begin?! The wildlife, the trees, the scenery, the nature center, the observatory and the campsites all come together to form one of the most comprehensive and enjoyable state parks I've ever been to in Texas.
Alligators of all sizes are prolific in this park, if you don't see several you didn't try very hard. We saw about a dozen in the course of a day. The variety and population of birds in this park is spectacular. If you are into bird watching I strongly recommend a stop here. Herons, ducks, Roseate Spoonbills, and hawks were all sighted in a single day within hours.
The trees in this park are massive and very old. I don't remember a collection of such magnificent trees in a park so abundant and accessible, including at the campsites. And speaking of the campsites, the pads for RVs are the widest I've seen at a state park, anywhere. The size of the pad makes backing in an RV a lot easier than usual and also offers a convenient place for additional guests to park.
The observatory is a nice bonus, but make sure you get tickets for the evening events well in advance!
Finally, the nature center is a wonderful place to see live snakes, baby alligators, spiders, glass lizards, and hummingbirds. You can learn about the history of the park there too. Park volunteers and rangers were very friendly and very knowledgeable. We will definitely be visiting this park again and again.

Drove up here back in January 2019 from San Antonio to come hiking here. This Texas State Park is absolutely beautiful. The temperature on this visit was in the mid 50s. The park had plenty of wildlife including the alligators. Had a lot of fun at this park. Just be careful when hiking around the wildlife animals here.

My second time visiting the state park after so many years. It is still as scenic and fun to visit (for individuals and families alike) as it used to be, though it has experienced its second worst drought recently. Specifically, I enjoyed immersing myself in nature by hiking miles after miles on the park's many well-maintained, beautiful and tranquil trails.

This was such a cool state park! I could not believe how beautiful it was, or the alligators that were visible at this time of year! I can’t wait to bring my entire family back. The Nature Center was well run, clean, and had lots of employees to answer questions, and provide education.if you go, please read the safety tips about being in close proximity to alligators. We saw lots of people getting way too close, and I would hate for things to change there because people don’t know how to follow the rules.

A very nice and relaxing park to enjoy the day. The tracks are always clean and the scenery always beautiful. You can also camp either in campers, tents or rent a small cabin. Bathrooms should improve. take drinks and food and get ready to walk a lot.

I used to come here with my family growing up, and we loved it. Coming as an adult was awesome. The campsite was large. The restroom and shower facilities were clean. We saw so many birds and gator sightings aplenty! We met the park hosts, and they were so nice and personable. As a person of color, It was truly refreshing and comforting to meet the first black park hosts in the state of Texas.

We camp at least twice a year. Spring and fall. This year both were at Brazos Bend. It's a favorite with my family. It's close to home, and there's enough to do to occupy for a few days. The water is definitely low since we went in the spring, but there's enough gators and wild life to see. The spot we rented deer came through almost everyday. It was enjoyable except my parents had to pay extra for me. I got called into work and had to come later. Since I wasn't with them they had to pay more for my extra car AND daily fees for our entire stay. My mom has the park pass and I was listed on the online booking BUT because I wasn't "in the car on arrival" they hit us for all of it.
Not to mention, the group that had our spot before us wouldn't get off at noon. The park police had to be called. They were pulling their lunch out and everything expecting to stay all day. Well the rules are, you can stay on your spot till noon. You must be packed up and off, but you can stay in the park in day use till closing. They didn't understand apparently. Once they left they trashed the spot. Poured juice and coke everywhere so we had an ant infestation. It was manageable though. We always bring ant bait.
Overall it's a favorite and we'll be back.

A large and well maintained Texas State park with a little something for everyone. There are over 30 miles of well maintained trails, plenty of day use space and excellent camping options for tent campers and RVers. There is also an observatory with star parties on Saturday evenings. The alligators are the stars of the park, but we also saw squirrel, road runner, geese, armadillo, feral hogs, deer, bared owls and a wide variety of other birds.
Phil Sidari — Google review
Great park and you’re almost guaranteed to see some gators in the wild! We saw upwards of 20! We walked both the 40 acre lake trail and the elm lake trail which totaled about 4 miles. Trail is good for bikes too and one of the gift shops has baby gators to pet

Less than one hour from Houston you are in an oasis for hiking, biking, fishing, birds and alligators watching, picnicking event sky watching at the observatory (weather permitted). If you camp in the park at a beautiful night, there’s always some neighbors who brings their telescopes with them. They are willing to show you Saturn, Jupiter and another stars, it’s amazing. Late fall is a good time to visit the park. The weather is cooler, water level is low so you could see a bunch of alligators at 40 Acres Lake, located near the entrance of the park. We bit our record of alligator counting last week, 26 alligators excluding babies.

Beautiful state park. We started out at the visitor center and checked out the live animal displays. They had some very cute baby alligators that we were able to touch. From the visitor center we walked the Pilant Slough trail (1.2 miles). We also walked around Elm lake which I highly recommend!!! We saw several large alligators and an abundance of birds and other wildlife. The campground was very clean and the shower facilities had great water pressure. We were only able to stay one night and it wasn’t nearly enough- I can’t wait to return.

Expansive park with lots of different trails, sceneries and wildlife sightings, nature center friendly & knowledgeable park rangers. Despite being one of the hottest days in Texas, we still enjoyed our brief stop & exploration of the park. We would love to come back in the fall to hike more trails and camp, nice camp sites, and Observatory on Saturday nights.

It's one of my favorite parks that are close to Houston! I've been coming here since I was a child, and I will continue to come. There are alligators, snakes and deer here, so be aware and make sure to take extra good care of your children and pets. I have never seen an incident here, but it's always best to be prepared. I have even seen a gator on the trail before, so be careful! This park does have some nice trails that help you find a short getaway from the big city.

For state park within reach of Houston proper is pretty good. No more than an hour from inside the loop of H-town. Southwest of the city past Sugar Land and Richmond but still within grasp of the city and the burbs. I found the park to be well managed and maintained. Did not camp over night, but the facilities and amenities to camp seemed very good. There is a fee to enter and depending on the purpose it has variation of cost. Definitely recommend for near city escape to nature. I visited in March 2024. Beware, there are alligators in the water and swamps so little dogs might be prey targets.

Two thumbs up.
We saw a ton of wild life including alligators of all sizes, vultures, birds of prey, herons. The paths were well graded and accessible for anyone ready to walk a bit. The picnic area offered plenty of space to sit and eat. It is a great place to escape Houston's metropolitan landscape and see how this part of Texas probably looked like a 100 years ago.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I stumbled upon this park - it's home to live alligators! I was in the area for work and decided to take a look, and boy am I glad I did. I went back every day after work and discovered a new trail each time. I'm already looking forward to going back next week to explore more. I live in California where there's an abundance of camping options, but I'm already planning a camping trip to this park for next year. It's just that amazing.

Starting off our year trying to visit as many state parks as we can with our pass. This was the 3rd and by far had the best playground, as well as a great gift shop for those who collect patches/pins, etc. they have it ALL here. My 3 kids made it difficult to do a ton of hiking so I can only assess the 40 mile trail and the short one to the observatory across from the nature center but my family had a great time, esp with the baby alligator they let my sons pet. I will prob come back another time with my oldest son to do more hiking 🥾 i included pictures of the souvenir section at the gift shop for those who collect patches/stickers/etc. since I never see reviews with those and they really do have a great selection

Beautiful park. I went for a bike ride and enjoyed the scenery. Well maintained. Hopefully the water level rises. I can’t wait till I go camping here.
UPDATE: So I came back and camped overnight in the primitive campsite. It was Holiday Vacation for the schools so it was kind of packed. I felt the campsites were close to each other but other than that, it was amazing. Such a beautiful park and friendly staff!!

It's a beautiful park with many hiking/bike trails. We spent 2 hours riding the bike and didn't get to go on all the bike trails yet. It's close to Houston (35 minutes drive). We got to see many turtles in the river while we were biking. And one mooring, we was a family of deers run across the street. We definitely would stay here again and make sure to stay longer next time.

It was fun hiking a 10 mile trail, a great place to take pets. I visited the place in fall and it was kinda spooky cause of the dried trees and everything, which made the journey more interesting and fun... But can't wait to come back in the spring 🌱. Hopefully I'll see some mama and papa alligators once they are back from the hibernation 💚🐊

Park with crocodiles, turtles, monkeys & more, featuring up-close feeding tours & other events.
The tour guides were informative and friendly. It is a great place to take the kids. My niece loved the experience and wants to return in the warmer months. I agree with her. Though it was overcast and not very warm out, we were able see the crocodiles and alligators basking in what little sun there was. We purchased our tickets ahead of time and I would recommend that you do the same.
My only complaint I have is not even with Crocodile Encounter, but with visitors with children. Please teach your children to not tease/molest the animals. Tortoises are not meant to be sat on or teased like I witnessed one child doing. Teach your children to follow the rules and treat animals kindly regardless of the environment they are in.
Angela W — Google review
This was a fun experience overall for my children who were 2-6 years old. We enjoyed the many different alligator/crocodile species in the encounter. It wasn’t what we were expecting, but it’s been done very well for what it is. I recommend the guided tour and purchasing the gator pellets and veggie cups. The tour took just over an hour and a half to complete and you are able to feed the animals along the way. The tour guide also fed a few of the animals which was fun to watch and they talked about the different species etc. The “kids” running the encounter were very knowledgeable. I use the term kids because everyone was very young 20’s-30’s maybe. Not what you would have expected dealing with deadly animals. The check in was a little bit of a scramble and unorganized, but overall a great little experience. I will say it felt like a Tiger King type of backyard zoo, but with alligators, crocodiles, tortoises, goats, bison, hogs and a few other wildlife done fairly well. You can tell that they started small and have grown into what they are today. I’m sure the tours and selling of certain wildlife help to keep the place running as a sanctuary for abandoned and injured animals which they briefly talk about on the tour. Definitely a good little stop on the way back to Houston from a weekend trip to Galveston with the family.

Great place to check out and see some crocs up close. Got free tickets from the library and the kids loved it. They held a baby alligator and saw a 13 ft crocodile, feed the tortoises, and watch the kangaroo bounce around. I'd recommend it.

Absolutely wonderful place!!! The entire tour was AMAZING! It’s so fun to watch all of those dangerous and beautiful creatures in a very comfortable environment like this place. We got to touch and hold the baby alligator. That’s awesome! The guides are really nice people and introduced every one of the crocodiles to us. Highly recommended!
Jiayi Chen — Google review
Great interactive experience. Boardwalk is in good condition throughout, which means stroller friendly. Hanging out with the tortoises was definitely fun, if a little nerve-wracking. These are live, unpredictable animals so make sure your children understand that. My youngest is 3 years old, my oldest 7 and they had a great time! Most of the animals are in appropriate habitat but I felt the goats could use less mud. They all looked healthy regardless!
Erika Andrade — Google review
Amazing experience definitely a very close encounter. I do suggest you get a guided tour to be able to touch the baby alligator. Also the personnel is very knowledgeable. Make sure to bring a hat, sneakers and cold water, not suitable for strollers. We will be back!
dulce persad — Google review
Recommend the tour on your first visit. During our second visit we arrived first thing. A little wait on someone to check us in. Recommend getting a cup of carrots/pellets for the animals and crocodiles for interaction. I believe that the animals were more interactive because there were not a lot of guest and it was first thing in the morning. It is stroller friendly with a little difficulty. Keep your kiddos close by through most of it. There is an opportunity for them to feed tortoise.

The first time we went was in the winter and the reptiles weren't as active but we still had a great time. We just returned last weekend while it was still warm, and the Crocodile Encounter did not disappoint. The guide and the animals were amazing!!! The crocs were very active! We almost saw a fight between 2 male crocs!

My husband, kids, and I did a 12 pm tour in a Wednesday. First of all, the staff was professional, knowledgeable, helpful, kind, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to make sure that those on tour were not left behind. They spoke to and interacted with the kids, and clearly communicated safety protocols. You could also tell that they had an endearing relationship with all of the animals. Second, the staff made sure that we saw some really amazing interactions by feeding or letting the tourists feed nearly all the animals we saw. At the end our kids got to hold a baby gator and touch a rat snake named Lucy. One of the best animal experiences we've had, and we've been to plenty of zoos and farms. The staff really do their best to make your experience high quality and memorable. Thank you for a wonderful time that my kids will remember with joy.

My kids had a fantastic time here. It was really so cool! I would definitely recommend the guided tour over self guided tour. I will say, I don't believe this would be a very wheelchair or even stroller friendly activity. So, keep that in mind when coming. Also, the gift shop was lacking a bit. But overall a really fun time!

Bought the gussied tour the night before. Highly recommend! Our tour was at 9 am, and promptly started. The total tour time was 1 hour and 30 mins.
I purchased gator food and carrots and was able to feed crocodiles, gators, tortoises and goats. Highly recommend! So much fun!

Took my nephew yesterday for the 9am tour. It was hot, but we were expecting it, I'd recommend you bring a drink. There is a lot of shade along the tour. Overall I thought the tour was fun and informative. The wood pier wasn't really maintained very well, I found myself tripping over the raised wood a few times. I felt like there could have been more animal attractions, the alligators and crocs were really cool, but I think I liked the kangaroos just as well. I recommend the place with 5 stars, just feel they are missing opportunities by not having more animals and maybe cleaning up wooden path.

Had a great tour guide, very knowledgeable. The group seemed too large for one guide to keep together, though. Spent time waiting for everyone to get ready to move to the next spot. All the animals looked very well taken care of.

10/10 Life Experience 💯
For many years I was that guy who made everyone wait on the ride while they tried to fit me in the seat only to have to get off the ride and watch in shame as the ride left me standing there. I couldn’t even go to the water park and ride water slides.
On March 30,2021 at almost 400lbs I embarked on a weight loss journey to get healthy and to accomplish my ultimate bucket list goal, to jump outta a plane at 14,000 feet! Today almost 3 years later I’m down to 260lbs and was able to fulfill that dream. Skydiving was the most exciting experience of my life. I’ve conquered by far my biggest fear and feat of my life!
It was the staff tho at Skydive Spaceland Houston that really put us at ease. From the Initial phone call I made to the time I walked in the door they were so nice and accommodating. The facility is huge with lots to do while you wait. The viewing area and deck made it fun to watch all the jumpers before us. My instructor Matthew was top notch! 9500+ jumps under his belt made me not worry about a damn thing. Every staff member said oh you got the best in the business and I truly felt that. The experience was so dope I already took advantage of their discount program and prepaid for my next jump! Can’t wait to go here again.

The best experience ever! I went to celebrate my birthday in a more exciting way and was the best decision I could make. Very friendly and fun staff, Carlos and Pedro were my cameramen and instructor, they were the funniest and most professional people to help out a newbie at skydiving like me. This place gives the public the opportunity to professionally learn how to skydive and get a license for it, they also give you the chance on the first try to open the parachute yourself and maneuver it after freefall which gives you a more complete experience. The people here make you feel secure and welcomed, it's definitely the best place to practice skydiving. Already paid for my next skydiving experience in this establishment, can't wait to come back! Thank you to Pedro and Carlos once again!

We had an absolutely AMAZING time sky diving for my fiancé’s 21st birthday 5 days ago! The staff was in a fun/amazing mood, got us so excited and ready when they saw we were nervous, they were extremely focused on safety and making sure everyone had a brilliant time. Even the cafe was great, the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had.
Every single person we met from the instructor, our tandem divers, the photographer, pilot, cashiers, cook, etc. was just so friendly and you can tell these people really enjoy their jobs and are excellent at what they do. Thank you to everyone at Skydive Spaceland for giving us so a fun time, we will be back!
If you’re hesitant about trying sky diving, don’t be! It’s not nearly as scary as you think and you will be so glad you had the experience. More fun than any theme park, jet ski, or whatever else. Just try it! 🛩

I was completely comfortable the throughout the entire process. The instructors were quick to addresses any concerns or questions you may have had prior to the jump. We watched an instructional video had an in person instructor during the videos. After that we went down to gear up and go over any further questions if you had any. There are jump suits to use during your jump or jump with the clothes you came in. The plane ride was comfortable but compact. The view was amazing and the instructor went over mid air plans and what to expect. The jump was AMAZING and definitely recommend going. I went ahead and got the video package since it was my first jump. Well worth it! It included over 80 high definition photos along with video paired with music of your choice (country, rock, metal, hip hop, classic rock ect). I will be jumping again! My instructor was Chris Brewer and video photographer was Jeff!

I decided to book my first jump for my 25th birthday and my best friend was crazy enough to join me, but it was the best decision we’ve ever made!! Everyone there makes you feel so calm and truly makes the experience into the best thing you’ll ever do in your entire life. Not only do they communicate incredibly clearly and professionally, but they truly connect with you on a personal level. Because of this, there was never a moment that I second guessed getting on the plane or jumping out of it, which is crazy considering what we were doing haha. Special shoutout to my instructor, Oliver, and my videographer, David! Oliver made the jump the most amazing, breath taking, and exhilarating, yet calm experience of my life and helped to make me feel confident in the whole process and David captured it perfectly! Expansive, modern venue for concerts, comedy, musicals & other live performances.
Wow! What a great venue! Some seats are indeed better than others, but you can readily see the stage from any seat in the house. I thought the Ushers and event staff inside the building were awesome. The gentlemen for the elevator and the side entrance were impeccable! Polite and smiling! There is a decent amount of handicap parking, and for those who are more mobile, the parking lot was not so big that it was a hike from the car to the door. The closest "feel" to this venue is the Bayous Theater, but this was much, much easier to navigate, and offered ample reserved seating. Hands down one of the best layouts I've experienced in the past few years.

I enjoyed my experience in this venue. The security at the entrance was pretty efficient and fast paced. Even the farthest seats get a great view of the stage. Brit Floyd was incredibly awesome.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Loved the engagement with the attendees.
Everything in the concessions inside is overpriced.
They charge $15 for parking, I'd recommend to be there early before your event. Check if bags are allowed before going.

This venue surprised me. Never been until Mastodon/Opeth/Zeal and Ardor last night. I hate venues with seats, but it is what it is. Massive parking lot. Easy access to venue. Tons of [extremely overpriced] food and beverages. Polite and professional staff, well except for the guy we ordered a Pepsi from. He was a bit cold. Didn't say a word to us after we placed our order. Getting there was easy as well, 45>8>69 from SE Houston area.
Anyway, the theater style seating was great. Comfortable padding, seats are offset so you don't have someone directly in your line of sight. The sound was incredible. Seriously fantastic. I'm surprised how good a metal show sounded here. It blows Cynthia Woods Pavilion out of the water. Awesome lighting too.

Great venue with excellent acoustics for its size. Parking is steep at $20, but the organization upon entrance and exit makes the cost more tolerable. Beverages are strong but a bit pricey. I would definitely visit again!

Came here to see Slayer, and not only was the show great, but the venue was nice and well organized. Didn't take long to find our seats, and getting drinks and using the restrooms was a breeze. Another plus was that our Uber was already in the ride-share lane waiting for us by the time we got downstairs. It was a fantastic evening, and a lot had to do with how much I enjoyed the venue.

My wife and I recently attended an Ali Wong comedy show at Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land and was thoroughly impressed with the venue. The place has a cool ambiance, managing to be both spacious and intimate, which was perfect for a live comedy experience. The setup allowed for a personal connection with Ali, who was, as expected, super funny and engaging.
However, the parking experience was a significant letdown. It was easily the worst parking situation I've ever encountered at a venue. The parking lot was chaotic and poorly organized, with attendants directing us through convoluted routes. This confusion made finding a parking spot unnecessarily stressful.
I was also surprised and disappointed that they charged for parking, especially given the ample space available in this side of town usually doesn’t expect city of Houston money grab parking fees. This seemed unwarranted and only added to the frustration, compounded by the attendants who seemed to create more chaos around the parking fees and coordination. While the venue itself and the show were fantastic, the parking experience was a major blemish on an otherwise great night.

This was my first time going to this venue. It was such a great time and a great venue! I had a great time seeing Twin Temple, Volbeat and Ghost! View of stage was great and it was loud and punchy in there
James Rounding — Google review
This is our 4th time watching concert at this place. And in my opinion, the best concert venue thus far. Wherever you are seated you will have good view of the stage. And for some reason, the sounds seems to be the best when watching at this place unlike the big venue downtown. State-of-the-art indeed!
They have very organized parking and with lots of usher to guide you. The place is clean; staff are great. One of the staff actually warned me (before walking that long hike from parking to door) about the handbag requirement 6"×4" only which is kind of nice and considerate. But since I knew that requirement and my handbag is exactly that size, I didn't have to go back.
Donna — Google review
There's a lot to unpack on this review. 3 stars usually indicates "meh", but there are good things about SFC. I'm just not sure they outweigh. Things you MUST know BEFORE attending a concert here. We saw Joan Jett and BRYAN ADAMS 6/28/2023. I loved the concert, especially Bryan Adams, but I won’t dive too much into that because this is a review on the venue, not the actual performers.
PARKING: The parking is well organized by the attendants, but they funnel everyone in through several entrances and break you down to 4 lanes. It took us over 20 minutes to get from the feeder to our spot. Parking is $20 and is CASHLESS. You must have a credit or debit card. Prepaid parking is available, but I am not sure it does any good. The parking lot itself is huge, so be prepared to walk. It took us 11 minutes to get from our car to the entrance. All events come with difficult and pricey parking, but to compare, other venues have multiple sides and lots. This pace has ONE side and ONE lot. Everyone funnels together and it's no fun, especially when you need to pee, just sayin'!
PURSES: The purse rule is nothing to toy with - you will be turned away! I saw one man taking his lady's purse back to the car as I was making my way in and the girl in front of us got turned away too. The have a piece of paper with a square and if your purse does not fit inside the 4x6 square, you will be turned away. If you have to walk all the way back to your car, in the heat (or cold, for that matter), you will not be happy. My wristlet is 4.5x6 and I actually did not get questioned about it, nor did I have to put it on the little paper with the box outline. I was so worried because the girl in front of me had issues, but hers was definitely larger and she was completely unaware. It was a crossbody style and had to be at least 6x8 in size. Mine looks small, so that saved me (but I was nervous!). All this and you still go through a metal detector. I'm happy with the security personally.
DRINKS: My chardonnay was $19.00 for ONE regular 6 oz cup. My friend’s cab was $22.00. No joke! Those prices are higher than NGR and Minute Maid. They only have cabernet, chardonnay and rose. No Pinot Grigio. Bottled water is $5.00. The lines are long, so be prepared to wait and miss some of your show. All concessions are CASHLESS. You must have a credit or debit card to purchase anything.
These things are in no way to be taken negatively. They are just the facts for this particular venue. The restrooms are exceptionally clean, the staff are all very helpful in navigating and the common areas are constantly maintained with little sweeper people. There are several police officers at all of the entrances/exits. I liked that. I felt very safe. The acoustics were okay. I thought the sound could have been better. It seemed all at the stage area and nothing surround. This venue hosts lots of big names, and though I enjoyed myself, I am just not sure I would go through the hassle/cost for a band I wasn't crazy about going forward.

Hand bags: 4 x 6 inches! Posting this to help make you aware before you get there... Take out your cell phone. If you have a bag this is bigger than your cell phone, they will not allow it! Dozens upon dozens of women walking back to their vehicles to put away their clutch-like hand bags/purses/ whatever you call them. Doesn't bode well for vehicle security purposes in my opinion. Anyhow I think that's a bit extreme, considering you still go through a metal detector. Parking is credit card only, or prepaid online. Pretty easy. Get there early to avoid long lines. Very nice place. No restrooms on top level 4, so utilize them on three or below. Seating was easy enough to figure out with lots of staff members. Drinks are a bit overpriced in my opinion but I guess that's entertainment bucks for ya these days.

Always Great Seating, Clean Restrooms, Plenty Parking, and Great Events with a full stage. The concessions don't have the most filling food so eat before you come!
MikeabellM3 — Google review
I caution people when purchasing tickets to call and verify that the seats do not have an obstructed view. Purchased 2 tickets $265 to look at speakers and lighting equipment. When the tickets were purchased nothing was mentioned about the view. When I reached out to the Financial Center to politely let them know about the situation, they politely responded sorry but to bad nothing we are going to do. They easily could have given a refund or invited me to a different show with better seating. That did not happen so now I am disputing the charge with my credit card company for a charge back. It’s to bad this happen because it is a nice facility and I really wanted to enjoy the show and more to come, however their lack of customer service just did it for me.

Parking is not bad, good place for music or festivals! There's many parking places people can use, enough space, close to HWAT59/69, if driving along University Blvd, it will lead u to come or exit. Driving along Lexington Blvd will led u reach many places at Sugar land local. The pickup drop-off point is right in front of entrance to this hall, very convenient. We came to watch show yesterday, not problem with parking.

This facility is beautiful. It's well kept and one of the nicest facilities in the Houston Area. Parking is ample, but inbound/outbound traffic is limited so get there early if you can. I can't stress enough how nice this facility is, even the comedian we went to see commented on the venue.
Stephyn Duffy — Google review
Let me start by thanking Henry who works for Smart Financial Center for his help in resending my tickets via email. Henry went well above and beyond to help me recover tickets that were lost on a dead cell phone.
Easy parking, but know that they manipulate traffic as you come into the center, so expect cones and roads to be blocked off but it was an easy drive in and an easy drive out.
The venue itself is beautiful, I can't imagine a bad seat in the house. Smart Financial Center is a great size not too big and not tiny and cramped. Sears are on the 1st floor, Box seats on the 2nd and if you have a balcony seat in the 200s that's on the 3rd floor. There are elevators on both ends of the lobby. The staff was welcoming and very helpful with questions.
Now the rest will be in caps: PURSE SIZE IS 4 INCHES BY 6 INCHES. SO MANY PEOPLE HAD TO WALK BACK TO THEIR CARS TO RETURN PURSES. I FONT UNDERSTAND WHY, SINCE THEY ARE GOING TO CHECK THE 4x6 PURSE ANYWAY AND YOUR GOING TO WALK THROUGH METAL DETECTORS ANYWAY. BUT 4x6 IS THE NUMBER TO REMEMBER!
Overall a great venue, great seating, awesome staff!!

The food is so drastically overpriced that it is unreal. The pretzel bites seen below were $10.00 and tasted only okay. The people working there are friendly for the most part. Just don't forget anything in your seats, because there is absolutely no re-entry. The restrooms were clean and the auditorium seats were comfy.
Offering hands-on exhibits, this museum features dinosaur fossils, an aquarium & a dome theater.
Awesome museum and science discovery center. Located in Sugar Land, the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land is a great place for visitors of all ages. Featuring interactive exhibits, loads of hands on activities, informative displays, friendly staff, and just awesome stuff from prehistoric displays to modern science and technology.
Reasonable entry fees: Adults $13, children $10, seniors $6. Memberships are available and with it if you will visit here or the main facility in Houston more than once.
They have two floors and multiple sections that have interactive and hands-on exhibits where you can touch history- including a fragment from the Moon. The recent and ancient history section has so much stuff to see up close and includes draws full of well preserved examples of shells, fossils, ancient art and tools.
They have a add on experience at the Dig Pit for an additional $10 for ages 3-11 where kids can dig for “dinosaurs” for 25 minutes. Subject to closure for COVID and maintenance.
Members enjoy special access to limited time programs and the Saturday morning program- check the website for details.
Ample parking, handicap accessible parking and facilities. Small gift shop in the main lobby. Clean restrooms, vending machines (reasonable prices), a large grassy area adjacent to the museum is a plus.
Definitely a hit with the kids and adults too. Perfectly sized and spaced out. Good mix of stuff to capture almost anyones attention.

We took the kids along here and they loved it, especially our seven year old. The smile on his face when he saw the T-Rex was worth the visit alone. It's a bit tight charging extra for three areas once in but overall this is a great place for kids, just the right size.

Always an amazing time here. Always new things to see. Can spend hours here any day. We love the butterfly garden especially. Easy to get around and even when it’s busy it’s still fun. Near so many other great places too so is a fun day out. Our kids enjoy it every time and the special exhibits are always fantastic
lesley Galloway — Google review
It's not a big museum. 2 floors. Spaced out quite a bit. Can't give it 5 stars as a lot of the exhibits were out of order. Was pretty much empty for social distancing was very easy. It was super clean and there are bottle stations for water. The chemistry bit is interactive and engaging. The salt side is very informative. Fantastic really. Upstairs is an assorted collection of random oddities. Some stuffed animals. Some statues. Some random weapons. Essentially anything museum worthy that they could get their hands on in no particular order. For toddlers the dig pit was quite fun. Spent a good couple of hours in which we covered the whole place twice. There is also a rather decent park behind the museum so the kids had a lot of fun.

Overall, this museum is very clean, nice, and educational! There is a lot to learn and it's a great way to spend an hour or two with smaller kids. However, there are quite a few interactive features that are out of order which was disappointing. We still had a really fun time!

Great way to spend an afternoon with kids. Good size. Expect to spend 1-2hrs. They have extras so make sure to ask what’s available at check in.
Staff was friendly. There wasn’t any wait time at each exhibit. A couple of stations were out of order and there weren’t many live exhibits even though the housing is available.
Overall, it was an enjoyable time. Kids left happy. Military pricing available.

This one is a small version of the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Hermann Park. The admission fee is $13 for adult, but you will get a cheaper ticket from Groupon.
There are 7 exhibits: Hall of Paleontology, Hall of Technology, Science on a Sphere, Space Science, Discovery Works, Dig Pit and Block Party Too.
It will take an hour or two to visit the museum. It is great for the children. There is a museum store on the premise to buy souvenirs from.

Was looking for a very interactive place to take my two kids, decided to take them to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. I want to tell you that this place was almost as fun to them as the bouncy house lol! They were filled with wonder and amazement, my 2yr old kept on yelling “Daddy look e dinosaur daddy, e dinosaur”. My heart was filled with joy the entire time, it was very informative. They have information about rocks, dinosaurs, sand, and other animals that existed long long long ago. I even learned a thing or two. The place was bigger than I expected, clean, they had parking, there was a ramp for wheelchair accessibility. They also sell souvenirs to remind you of your time there. It was a blast, loved it.

I am a realtor agent in Sugar Land, Texas, and my office, Keller Williams, had an annual award ceremony at the Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land. The location was fantastic for private events. It was a different venue than in previous years, and we really enjoyed our time at the museum.

It's a little bit small for a museum, but items displayed are good enough, cover topics of dinosaur, natural resource and energy, salt & stone, etc. In Dec on second floor there's Jingle tree display room, some interactive toys for kids. At entrance there is a Dinosaur ride with seat on top, pretty cool, kids love it, but you have to pay for it!

Ah, such a clean & wonderful mall! I really do enjoy all the different stores in here. Even though they label it as a outlet mall sometimes, not every store is in outlet store.
One of my favorite discoveries is the f.y.e. Store that has a ton of pop culture material. There is something available for everyone!
One of my other favorite stores is the bubble tea Stores! The food court recently got a Korean corn dog restaurant and it is absolutely delicious!
- k-dogs are definitely something to try. You may like it you may not like it. You will not know until you try!
Other awesome stores include a five below, Hot Topic, Ross..
Give this mall a try, there is something for everybody.

It's a nice place, but it's not healthy to return when the freshly-applied asphalt parking lot leaves your car readings at 106° and the roof of the mall is waterproofed with tar - except the area above Marshall's (that store has multiple leaks when it rains.) I understand that it's a tough summer; could y'all paint the roof a reflective white and switch to a light shade of concrete for the parking lot?
(This is likely not going to be seen nor forwarded to those who can improve this, but at least this message is added with the growing complaints of others with similar concerns.)

Wow! Last time I came here was ~2014. I came back again (3:00 P.M.) to see this colossal mall turn from a bustling building into one with way less people than last time. Katy Mills is too big to have this few of visitors. Other than that, this mall has a great variety of stores.

I love Katy Mills, great old school mall feeling. I come here every year to grab my kids their shoes and clothes for the new school year, and we spend hours in here. We usually take a break from shopping and head to the Tilt to enjoy putt putt golf, rides and arcade games. I'll grab a candle from Yankee for the misses, and grab a bite at the food court. I hope to keep coming back for years to come. 😎👍

I thought malls were dying out.. WRONG Growing up I was here often due to my dad's office being down the road! It has changed (for the better) . Did you know a walk around the mall is a mile? I definitely didn't know back then! I now I need to bring my inhaler! Haha! Came here because I thought a new indoor slide park was open to take my 8 year old to but it hadn't even been started or it wasn't open at all. The signage and other mall employees did say fall as in September 2023 and there was no other signage. When I looked at their website there was no mention of a Katy Texas location. Anyways we did have fun and looked at a few stores. We had the chance to go to the arcade by the movies (which is also close to where the slide park might be). That then also gave us a chance to ride the train! Of course we ended at the rainforest cafe! We also slept WELL that night!

Although my experience was not terrible because I completely ignored the cons of going to this mall, I still feel like I should address it. The kiosk lady by the perfume stand was doing way too much just to get me to buy something. Before they get hired maybe there needs to be better training on how to approach people instead of making them your next victim to scam them out their money. I had to literally say no about five times. It was really rude of her to tell me “oh, well you can get your boyfriend to buy for you.” This was after I said no, on top of me telling her that it was his birthday like why should we have to even feel like we need to go as far as explaining ourselves. Not everyone likes every item that is being sold. This is why others ignore them, and the experience of wanting to just mind your business and peacefully go to the mall gets Ruined. I understand a job has to be done but there needs to be way better training in that department or hire more professional people. Also this place needs way better security. Any one can just walk in here, and there has been a lot of crime in this specific mall. Do it for everyone’s safety not for just us but for your employees as well. I really want to see this mall do great because it already has a bad rep. These reviews are up for reasons, please listen if you’re interested in any type of change.

The reason I’m giving this place a one star review in general when I have given certain certain locations five star reviews is because this place’s quality has gone down completely since I first saw it. They used to have beautiful colors surrounding the entrance and all throughout the mall but ever since the 2010s the mall has turns to a grayscale modern look and it’s horrible. But as always much love from Houston and the universe.
Typhoon Texas Waterpark Houston is a vast and entertaining destination, featuring snaking water slides and a relaxing lazy river perfect for tubing. Along with various dining options, visitors can enjoy the Bullchute slide which sends riders down a 7-story free fall or experience the double and single tube slides in the Snake Pit. The park also boasts a wave pool and plenty of splash pads providing ample opportunities to beat the heat during hot summer days. Additionally, it has hosted successful events like Katy Taste Fest.

This is our second summer with a season pass, and we love going as often as possible. I would recommend arriving early in order to get a table in the shade near the wave pool. You can't bring food in, but we pack a cooler and eat in the car for lunch for a chance to cool off. The food in the waterpark has always been good, but of course gets expensive if you go fairly often. The park is large enough to have something for everyone to enjoy, but small enough that I don't worry about my kids getting lost. We love it!
Constellation Field is an outdoor venue that caters to sports and music enthusiasts, with a seating capacity of up to 9,500 spectators. It hosts the Sugar Land Skeeters, a Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Houston Astros. This stadium offers affordable options for families who want to enjoy baseball games without breaking the bank, such as $5 grass berm seats and Dollar Dog Days on Wednesday games.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
This is a must see! The entire stadium was lite up. We had the best time, definitely worth the money, there were so many things to see. You could take a picture with Santa, prices varied. You could walk around the entire stadium even on the field, obviously not on the grass that was closed off, the dugout was open to public so you could sit in there or take photos. Pretty cool. There was a carnival where you could purchase single tickets for certain rides or get a wristband for the day. The carnival is not huge but it was enough for your kids to have a pretty good time. Food trucks were available we got sodas, beer, funnel cakes and nachos, it was expensive but that’s to be expected. Definitely worth going to atleast once. It was simply amazing.

We attended the Sugar Land Holiday Lights and it was an amazing experience ✨
It’s great for all ages. Parking was not an issue although the line was pretty long to get inside. It’s easier if you can populate your tickets before you get to the gate.
Even if you don’t do the carnival you’ll enjoy the parks, hot cocoa, and even s’mores. There’s a lot of interactive photo ops throughout the park.
Definitely adding this to our holiday tradition and looking forward to going back next year 🎄

Truly a great experience at an AAA ballpark. First and foremost, the baseball was well played and there isn't a bad seat in the stadium. More importantly, there are plenty of things to keep younger baseball fans entertained between innings: multiple playgrounds and a splashpad are free to use on site. My sons had a great time for a reasonable price and I'll definitely be going again!

Nice place, small and every seat are pretty much good seats to watch the game, but I would recommend sitting in the right field for an evening game so the sun's not in your face. But under the over hand would provide enough shade to, same side.

Even the rain could not ruin a fantastic evening amongst the lights at Sugarland. The lights are great and there was a lot more to do. Really enjoy MILB. The action is just as good as the majors on a smaller scale. The up close seating experience you get is great. Food and drink prices are reasonable. Merchandise is not too bad and you can find some deals. The little in between innings activities are hilarious. Friendly staff all around. Food was good. Oh @ Double Dave’s Pizza your pizza is good, but not worth almost $9 a slice come on man. $5 a slice is reasonable. There were various places to take photos with lights and other props, plenty of over sized jumbo games to play and a ton of food and other small kiosks to shop from. The open park was also a plus. We will be back next year!

Stadium was nice clean and well maintained. Parking was fast and easy. Went for a company party/private event and the concession stand workers were beyond slow. Lines were not long at all. It was the bbq, chicken tender, bar all next to each other. All 3 were terribly slow. Kids playground was well staffed.

Constellation Field is not only a great spot for baseball games and concerts, it is a wonderful Holiday Lights destination. My family and I make it a point to go every year. Always a blast!!

We were fortunate enough to attend a game and enjoy the Regions Bank Club level buffet, as well as fantastic seats. We have been attending games at Constellation Field for years now. The upgrades to the playground are amazing. It’s beautiful and offers an option for bigger kids and smaller kids which nice. The people that work in the kids area are fantastic!! They are so sweet and very patient with so many kids. They help it feel safe for your children to play there. The views from the lawn seats are actually really awesome too, so even if you can’t afford seats in the first few rows, you can still get a great view of the game. The food is sooo good. If you can afford the buffet add-on in the Club level - do it. It’s definitely worth the money in my opinion given the costs of concessions downstairs. A truly special shout out to Tyler for being one of the best managers I’ve ever spoken to in my life. Someone taking a negative review and actually taking the time to hear you out and be open to constructive criticism is almost unheard of. Constellation Field offers literally fun for the whole family.
This Katy park has a playground, a stocked fishing pond, miniature golf, an indoor fitness and aquatic center, a large picnic area with a barbecue pit, and more. There are also several shade trees in the area.
This is a pretty awesome park for the whole family. It has many swings, slides, and other climbing and spinning activities. It also has a nice mini golf course and a trail around a beautiful stocked lake. The trail can be used for walking, jogging, and bikes.

Beautiful, well managed and landscaped public park that has adaptive play areas as well as inclusive equipment for children who may have mobility limits. There is miniature golf for free, gazebos for lunch or celebrations, picnic tables, a huge tri-level playground with several swings and even a creative musical play section. Nestled throughout are walking trails and a lake with several ducks. Great family place or morning to afternoon stroll in addition to the community center that has restrooms and various classes.

This park is awesome. Great playground for the kids, putt-putt, BBQ pits, and a walking path around a lake with benches to relax.
Also, the restrooms are clean. Well, I can only speak for the men's restroom. I had to take my 4-year-old daughter to go #1, and I wasn't repulsed for her.
I went during Spring Break, which contributed to it being more crowded than I like, so I can't take off a star for that.
I haven't been on a non-weekend holiday, but I hope to do so soon with the family.
As for safety, worry not. It is right next to a police department.

Otis had so much fun at this dog park. I was excited to see that it has a small watering hole for the dogs to swim in, ample space for the dogs to run around in, lush greenery and trees for the people to be surrounded in (and dogs to stare up at the trees looking for squirrels) with benches for sitting in AND even some dog exercise / relay equipment. This park delivered so much more than expected. The only problem was that it was a little bit difficult to find even looking at a map.

Lovely park for a morning or evening walk. It is a well paved trail and is wheel chair accessible, the loop is about .75 miles. Nature and some wildlife in abundance. The kids playground is top class and the mini golf is the icing on the cake. Please bring your own golf equipment if you planning to use the mini golf facility.

The sweetest park with a well stocked lake for fishing, lots of duck and geese, a large pavillion with grill, clean bathrooms, and a great playground with a music area and different types of swings and climbing structures. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Excellent park for kids. With two playgrounds--one for smaller kids with the train next to the baseball/soccer fields and the other for larger kids next to the activities center and pond. Great varieties of activities for kids and plenty of seating spaces and greenery for adults to enjoy.

This park was really cute. There is a smaller kids section but it is not very big. I think my boys will like this park better when they are in school. This park is not enclosed.

Beautiful scenery. Great place to walk with your family. Small disc golf course that is enjoyable. Bring some old bread and a slingshot to feed the lake birds if you're bored. The fat ones will come up and keep you entertained.

My family and I love coming to Mary Jo Peckham Park. I see families bringing everyone for picnic time, parties, get togethers and lots of good family fun at the playground. We usually don't even make it to the pond with ducks, but we have enjoyed walking around. Although there are vultures, they usually hang out around the pond and NOT at the playground.
I do appreciate the bathrooms, but also bring hand sanitizer if they run out of soap which happens from time to time. Once June and July hit, try going early in the morning as it is deserted by noon (way too hot for the summer months).

My clients and I love meeting here for classes! There is so much for the dogs to see. Great place to train your pup to overcome distractions and to get general socialization.

This is a very nice park. It’s small but great for runners as the trail is not concrete. The loop total is about 0.75 miles. It had a gazebo, playground, golf, koi pond and restroom on site. The lake is gorgeous and there was a dock area to sit. There is plenty of seating at this park. You can also do pole fishing if you have a license.
It was nice to see the ducks however the park should be cleaned and taken care of more often with them in the area. There was duck poop everywhere. All over the seating and tables in the gazebo. It was misty while I was there so that made for a nasty sight.

We visit this park often. There is mini golf, plenty of places to walk including paths with ducks, a playground, a gym and indoor swimming pool as well as a koi fish pond. We love it there! My grandson loves to see the fish when we go. A nice nature spot for bird watching too. I saw a variety there today. Katy did a great job of creating this space for families in the area. We need more places like this! 10 stars! ⭐️ ♥️ ♥️ ⭐️

Wonderful park. Walking trail, fishing, playground, miniature golf. Indoors there is a huge pool, weights, treadmills & stationary bikes. They also have workout classes- all this stuff inside is free for katy residents. Outside is free for everyone! Also outside restrooms very well maintained and clean. Great place for kids parties and there are grills to cook on. Love, love, love this place! Next door is a dog park with agility stuff. Inside I noticed sign up sheets for senior bus trips to all sorts of fun things. Great place for community.

Very unpleasant experience. I tried on jeans and wanted to wear them immediately. Treated me as a thief. I was not allowed to shop anymore and was forced to go to the cashier. One sale rep asked another one how many pairs of jeans I tried on. I understand this is some precious measure, but please try to do it in a different way and not in front of a customer.

Store needs training in customer service. I walked in, and the employee did not greet, did not notice I was inside the store, and was running his mouth with a customer. I could have easily taken stuff. I looked round and still did not notice I was in the store. I went to Burberry, and Versace wonderful service also felt welcomed. If they don't care to acknowledge the customer, then don't spend your $$$ at armani.

Armando went the extra mile for me. Even though his store didn’t have the black tux I needed in my size, he called a tailor to see if they could size the larger tux to my size. When that didn’t work, he found the tux I needed at the Allen, TX. store. He’s a customer service professional of the first order. I’m a national sales manager- he is the one we’re all looking for! yeah

Never had such a hard time spending a thousand dollars in my life. Refused to swap a pair of pants from a suit to make an correctly fitting ensemble. Instead found it a better idea to try to sell me on a jacket that did not fit correctly. Have bought suits from here in the past where the employees had no problem switching out the pants to the correct size. Would love to buy more suits from here in the future but the policy prevents me from doing so. Unreasonable policies, unhelpful employees and deceitful sales tactics made my most recent visit a 1 star experience.

Be careful about the products’ price of this location. I bought a watch for $242 and it was originally listed for $445. As soon as i got home I checked on google and found that the watch listed on many other websites including Amazon for only $140 and the seller is also Armani. There is no refund, no price match, only exchange but I don’t trust their products anymore
I feel so disappointed the way i am not trusting this brand any more. I called the store there is no email for corporate to communicate with. I can only talk to the store manager when she comes back to the store, which i am sure won’t offer me a full refund
But how come there is no customer service for a company like this !!!! No email neither phone number!!!!

After being rudely talked down on by a Calvin Klein employee for dressing unprofessional and not allowing us to try on the pieces assuming we had no money, We ran over to this lovely establishment. We were in a rush to find a suit for my interview so Alise, a super helpful and wonderful woman, helped us choose out an amazing woman’s two piece $1500+ suit that was for sale $279! WHAT A STEAL! Not only was she sweet and super helpful, She let me try on the clothes too! Unlike CK, she knew exactly what she was doing and never looked down and degraded us for how we dressed! So, not only did I leave with my first Armani suit! I also got the job!!! Thank you so much Alise for all your help and patience and hard work! And thank you Armani for such amazing pieces! 💕💕💕

The Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park is a Houston landmark and popular place to visit for its surreal waterfall and oaks-lined trails. The centerpiece of the park is a 64-foot-tall fountain that circulates 11,000 gallons of water per minute.
This such a welcoming Park! With people laughing and playing from every corner, to a musician playing ambient music. The park is incredibly clean, which I will give huge props to and that! The waterfall, which is the main attraction has a great community of people coming to, photographers photographing, families taking memories, and people having a great time. I sure loved my trip, and I hope come back here anytime soon!

Absolutely stunning!
After checking the website (Uptown Houston) for start/finish times we were very relieved to find out we had made it just in time before the scheduled maintenance was about to start.
And what a spectacular landmark for Houston! This ‘double-sided’ waterfall has to be experienced in person to enjoy it in full.
But be sure to get there between the hours of 8am - 9pm, as they turn the water off out of these hours.

This architectural feature is a few minute walk from a major shopping area (the Galleria). There is not really much to do in the immediate area (don’t expect restaurants or patios) as it is surrounded by business offices and condos. However, it is a beautiful feature and well worth the stop. Pending the wind, you will get a bit wet if you walk around the waterfall. I suggest grabbing lunch and enjoying the scenery for an hour of relaxation.

This is such a dope spot! You have to pay about 6 bucks for parking in the visitor parking for Williams Tower but it's beyond worth it. Some of the lawn is off limits right now due to sod taking root but it detracts very minimally from the entire thing. The scope of this is hard to put into words and is easily missed in photos. It's quite breathtaking and the light mist from the wall is kinda perfect. If you have the time and gumption, definitely stop here for an hour and get some great shots and cool smiles.

I was in the area and this was definitely an eye catcher. I made the short walk back after my previous business. It was busier than expected, but still more than enough room for everyone. The waterfall itself is very impressive with the massive size and gorgeous views. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Very comfortable benches too!

This was just a quick stop for us while we were visiting the Houston/Galveston area for a family reunion, but boy was I glad we stopped here. It can be a quick stop, as it was for us with $5 parking in the garage nearby but it was very memorable. Also, it's a great site to see in the summer. It's much cooler because of the mist in the air from the waterfall and was one of the only tolerable outdoor stops in Houston in the summer. It's a lot of fun and great for a quick picture. I would recommend it. No restrooms for public use as far as I could tell though.

When preparing for my visit to Houston, this place was showing up on all the videos and websites. Now I know why.
Yes, it's a fountain, but a unique one indeed! I want to give a shout out to the architect and engineer who created this. Is very impressive and calming at the same time. KUDOS!
We visited on a Sunday around noon, not crowded at all. We had to wait a minute or 2 to take pics but no major thing.
I was lucky enough to be staying near by, I was able to walk. But be aware that parking is VERY limited.
Pro tip: take your picture from the side, trying to take it right in the middle is going to take you longer and the angle from the sides is much more interesting.😋

After years of driving past on the way to the Galleria we finally stopped to take some graduation pictures here, and it made for a very pleasant backdrop. The sight of the fountain up close is more impressive than from the road, and the mist from the falling water is pleasantly cooling on a hot day. The concrete at the base of the waterwall can be a little slippery.

Such a cute activity if you don’t know what to do. Located on the same block as a mall. We went during sunset which was cute but it got dark fairly quickly so I would suggest going in the daytime so your pictures don’t come out dark. There were a few people when we arrived but not many.

Great park! Beautiful water fall sounds and feels cool with a breeze flowing thru the building. Great place for picnic or playing outdoors with children. Some beaches available. Grass feels great and clean. The tall building in front of fountain is interesting to look at....its really tall. Parking is available for free at the Mall parking garage. Its a very short 5min walk to the park from the garage. Worth it.

The water wall was really cool. There is a lot of opportunity for great photos. I’d consider going at different times of the day to get different natural light effects. This morning, my friend and I took our visiting college classmate to the Gerald D. Hines Waterfall in Houston, TX. We were excited to show her this iconic Houston landmark, and we were not disappointed!
The weather was perfect for a visit to the waterfall - sunny and warm, with a slight breeze. When we arrived, we were amazed by the sheer size and beauty of the waterfall. It is truly a sight to behold!
We spent some time walking around the perimeter of the waterfall, taking pictures and enjoying the view. We also ventured behind the waterfall, which was a lot of fun. The mist from the waterfall was refreshing, and it made for some great photo opportunities.
Our classmate was blown away by the waterfall. She said that she had never seen anything like it before. She was especially impressed by the way that the water cascaded down the wall, creating a mesmerizing effect.
We also enjoyed the park that surrounds the waterfall. There are plenty of places to sit and relax, or to take a walk and enjoy the scenery. The park is also home to a variety of plants and flowers, which made it a beautiful place to visit.
Our overall experience at the Gerald D. Hines Waterfall was wonderful. It is a great place to visit with friends and family, and it is a must-see for any visitor to Houston. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unique experience.

It was a very nice view, it will be a very good place to visit with kids especially in summer. There is also a large open green area with trees for relaxation

When I first heard about this place, I admit I had my reservations, thinking it might be just another mundane city waterfall. However, the waterfall park pleasantly surprised me; it turned out to be far nicer than I expected and exceeded my expectations.
This serene oasis has garnered praise from many, and I'm no exception. The sound of the cascading water is soothing and therapeutic, and the way it gracefully moves is mesmerizing.
It also offers great photo-worthy allure. Pro tip: if you're an iPhone user, be sure to enable “Live Photo” mode to capture the animation of the waterfall in your pictures; it creates a delightful effect.
In addition to the waterfall's charm, the park boasts a vast lawn/green area, that can be great for kids to play and have a blast throwing a ball or a frisbee, or an ideal spot for a relaxing picnic. Regardless of your age, you'll find something to enjoy here.
There are several park benches that line the perimeter of the green area as well. They offer a much-needed reprieve from the Texas heat, with the shade from the surrounding trees providing cool comfort, if you are visiting in the summer. Parking is also convenient with two parking decks nearby and costs approximately $5/hour.
The waterfall architecture and design, recreational options, and tranquility make this a worthy destination. Plan a visit; you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to check the hours of operation. When I visited in September they closed at 9pm.

The Galleria is a popular shopping mall in Houston, Texas. It has over 400 high end stores and restaurants, an ice-skating rink, a designer punch with businesses like Tiffany & Co., Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, Gianni Versace and Cartier.
This mall shopping experience is fantastic.
It’s a huge, clean, organized mall with just about every store that you could ever want to shop at. Check out their website for listings of what stores they have, the options are seemingly endless. Parking is free in the garages, which is nice, although it gets a bit packed on the weekends. There is a massive ice rink for skating in the middle of the mall and provides a fun atmosphere and great activity for dates, friends, or family. There are plenty of food options in the food court. This mall is a fun place to explore, even if you don’t need or want to purchase anything. There’s a reason it’s a hot spot in Houston and has so many reviews - it’s pretty cool. Check it out!

A world class shopping mall. This place is a gem of the city of Houston and a must visit when looking for iconic landmarks to cross off of your to do or must visit list when in Space City. Wander around all wings and visit each floor each time. The story rewrites itself from every angle of this place. Dynamic store activity is a reason people keep coming back to the galleria. Occasional celebrity sightings are becoming less uncommon when visiting. Check it out during the holidays and they decorate it to reflect the spirit of the most wonderful times of the year

The Galleria is really nice , big , after pandemic this mall is driving , all the merchant stores were open , it was nice to see a mall that was not heavily impacted after Covid SIP. The only thing the mall was repairing was the ice skating ring . In San Francisco downtown is going to be ghost town soon, the mayor merchants are departing due to the homeless and thieving issues .

One of the best malls in Houston. Great Mall with lots of popular stores and a few which difficult to find in some other Mall locations. Love it and very good shopping experience over here. Must visit!
There is the indoor ice rink in the Mall; the family and friends can enjoy both ice skating and shopping in the same place. It also provides the ice skating class in the early morning.

This mall is huge, probably take a hour or so to all around the place without going into any stores.
There’s a nice map of the mall you can pull up on your phone. It’s also many huge interactive maps throughout the entire mall. Multiple floors and a parking deck that is a little undersized for parking. It was a difficult time finding a parking spot. I’d recommend giving yourself plenty of time and have patience when coming. Otherwise, great mall with lots of stores.

Plenty of options to buy from at this mall. It was very busy when I visited, but the a/c was working great because it kept the temperature pleasant.
I would say that it is a bit scary to park here, though... there were several men walking around the cars but I never saw them getting into any of them. I think that they should get a few security guards so that customers know that their cars are secure.

Overall we like coming here and would have given more stars. There is a rule of turning the car engine off, which for some cars means turning of the A/C or heat during really hot or really cold days. It would be better to just leave the request to keep car head lights off. Having someone come knock on the car when we are trying to either stay warm during the winter or keep cool during the summer but still enjoy the drive up movie experience seem a bit much.

There’s something magical about the Showboat Drive-In that keeps me and my loved ones coming back for more. It’s not just about watching movies; it’s about creating memories under the open sky. The value is unbeatable—two movies for the price of one!
Arriving early is part of the ritual, securing the perfect spot where the screen looms large and the stars twinkle above. It’s a pet-friendly place, which means the whole family, furry members included, can join in the fun. The sense of community is palpable, with everyone doing their part to keep the space clean and welcoming.
The gentle reminder to dim our lights sets the tone for an immersive experience, where the only glow comes from the big screen, captivating us all. Each visit is a reaffirmation of the joy and excitement that the drive-in brings. It’s a timeless tradition that never grows old, and I’m already looking forward to our next movie night at Showboat Drive-In.

Health protocols are in place so order ahead on the mobile app. They have a QR code visible to get menu. Very clean and of course great price for 2 movies. Fun for all!

The showboat drive-in is like stepping into the past. Our kids love hanging out before the movie on the swings and playing with other kids. You can bring in your own food or purchase from their concession stand. Either way— the showboat theater is sure to delight! It’s worth the drive for sure!

We have loved this place for over 15 years. Sad to see its for sale. Appears that the owners have let standards go. Grass not mowed, fire ants not treated, benches and playground equipment in dangerous conditions. We hope that someone who loves this place with buy it and not turn it into more track homes. Please keep the old girl up. We would love to come back

It had been years since Marline and I had been to a Drive in movie.although we wish there was an app or another alternative to listening to the movie.
And the price was excellent!
Great experience!

Compared to what Showboat Drive In use to be, this was a huge disappointment. Grass is overgrown, no ball on the tether ball pole, can’t go in the concession stand, because they’re still afraid of Covid. You have to scan a code, order online, then they text you to pick up, limited food, no ice. This place was once so busy the line was down the Highway and the concession stand was buzzing. Surprised they are still in business. Previous owners did a much better job. Popcorn taste like it was made yesterday. Horrible. What a shame. Won’t be back.

I grew up in the Katy area and would frequent this drive in since 07/08. To start off, this drive in has gone downhill if you're used to the concessions. They used to have a full kitchen that would make all kinds of food (burgers, nachos, corn dogs, milkshakes, hotdogs, full pizza's etc).
Today, the food options aren't much to choose from as other reviews have mentioned. The optimal thing to do is bring your own food and snacks in. Once you get past the concession issue, the reason I am giving 2 stars is because they allowed a vehicle to keep their neon lights on underneath their tires, and it was very irritating the whole movie through. (see attached photo to review).
Also the light pollution from 99 is only becoming brighter every day and I fear the drive in won't be worth it anymore - you can hardly "see the stars" anymore. For $10 if you live in a 15mi radius, it's worth it. But I would not go out of my way to visit this drive in.

Definitely recommend bringing a battery FM radio to be able to leave your car off through the shows, but overall, it's exactly what you want from an old fashioned drive-in.

This was our first time ever going to the drive-in. We all enjoyed this being able to watch a movie as a family, mainly because we can bring the babies vs. other mainstream theaters, it's not allowed, and finding sitters isn't always an easy thing. I don't know why we haven't gone sooner, but it was easy and a wonderful experience. I suggest bringing chairs, blankets, pillows, checking for ants, and maybe mosquito spray as you'll be outside if you don't sit in your car. Again, it's worth checking out if you have young/even older kiddos and just want to go somewhere with the kids/family and make it an event to do. Thank you showboat! We hope to make this a frequent thing and hope to see the drive-in stay open after it selling. 🙏 😀

I really want to give this drive-in more stars, but I just can’t. While there aren’t many drive-ins left, it’s a very novel movie going experience. It could’ve been better had there been better management of the ground (thousands of pot holes) and better lighting for where the parking lanes were. It was very confusing on figuring out where/how to park. Once we did figure it out, it was fine. I really enjoy the idea of drive-ins especially since there are so few left.
They only had two screens and I understand why. It takes a lot of space and may be difficult and costly to fully maintain.
We will probably be back at some point in the future. And if you’ve never been here, you should definitely try it.
Consession stand was clean and nice as were the restrooms, but everything was very dated, which is to be expected. All of the staff were very polite and nice and helpful.

Great experience with my family. Employees are very courteous and the concession area was clean and full of movie goodies to buy. We all enjoyed our first drive in theater together as a family.

Personally, I love the option to go watch a movie outdoors in cool weather, the comfort to be in our own comfy space & the ability to control the volume to the movie for me who has a little one. Two things that would make it even better are 1) better food/snack options & 2) an actual concrete lot, at least the entry & exit. OR, if they really want a patchy grass area in the parking lot...to go ahead & finish covering the parking lot with grass. There's all the rocks that are bothersome but even more, the damn holes that are a big no. Price wise, it's more affordable than another outdoor movie theater I've looked into. Hope this helps!
Ana Bernal — Google review
Had a GREAT time with the family! We had a few first timers to outdoor theatre. Our 3 year old alternated from sitting and watch to jumping around. We didn't have to worry about disturbing others.
The concession stand line was long and slow and food selection is limited. We had a late lunch so the selection (snacks) was perfect. We loved their popcorn!
We arrived when the gates opened at 7PM. Movie started at 8:15PM. Any earlier start time, we would not have been able to see the screen, it was too bright outside.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a 155-acre nature center and arboretum located within Houston's Memorial Park, open to the public for free daily from dawn to dusk. The arboretum was originally developed in 1951 by Robert A. Vines and the Houston Botanical Society, with construction on the nature center facility begun in 1967.
Well worth the $5 to park, and free on Thursdays. This is such a green gem in the vast cityscape of Houston. It’s expansive and superbly maintained. I can only speak to the experience of a parent to young kids, but there’s way more to it than the much-appreciated play space and indoor discovery center. Trails upon trails, lovely views, pretty flowers, and plenty of shade. I saw plenty of hikers, cyclists, and puppy parents enjoying the space too. We’ll definitely be back.

What a beautiful piece of nature in the city. Really love what they've done with the place. Will be bringing the family here for nature walks every weekend. So peaceful and pretty! Highly recommend. 5 dollars to park and enjoy the gorgeous scenery (especially in fall) is nothing. Definitely plan on getting the park membership.

We have always loved the nature walks at the arboretum but the new playground and activities are a bonus! My son is excited to learn about all of the insects, creatures and plant life we can spot along the trails. A beautiful way to spend the day with family.

This hidden gem was a pleasant surprise. Well maintained walking trails and plenty of natural areas. Spent a few hours exploring & walking all the trails. Free to go but costs to park, except on Thursdays. I paid $5.50 to park all day, so not bad, especially if you carpool.

A very peaceful area with a ride different trails to be able to walk around and enjoy. Not a place for biking or running. It’s really an area to be able to walk and enjoy nature, beautifully manicured, and well taken care of. They did have a nice playground for kids to enjoy as well. Highly recommend and will come back. Parking surrounding the arboretum is pay for an entire day. It was $5.50 when we went.

It was the first time here with the family and we had a blast!!! The arboretum is beautiful!! The kids loved the play area so much. They had a blast playing in the sand making sand castles and climbing the 🕸️. We loved walking the trails. It was so nice to be in nature yet in the heart of the city!! We live in atascosita and we will be making the drive here more often!!

We always love an arboretum visit! Have been many times! Great spot for a hot day because there is shade and an indoor nature center to explore and cool off! All three of my kids have a blast for different reasons. We love the water pump and rope web to climb on, and we love all the critters inside! Parking is $5 all day (pay by machine or app) free on Thursdays!

This is a beautiful place to visit while in the Downtown area! It is a well designed nature park with ample parking if you come early in the day. I did not visit the Nature Center on this trip, instead I came to simply walk the trails and soak in some sunlight. The trails are easy to access from the parking area and there are shorter trails and longer ones. I enjoy the views and the wildlife! A memorable part of Downtown Houston 💯

Lots of walking trails for those who love to be surrounded by nature. Great place to capture pictures and truly experience the great outdoors. Parking is paid, so plan to come and stay awhile to walk and check out the indoor nature center.

This is a really peaceful and calm place to visit if you're in the Houston area. Admission is free but you have to pay around $7 for parking.
They have walking trails with a bunch of trees and Texas wildflowers. This naturally attracts a lot of bugs, butterflies, and birds to the park. Make sure you bring plenty of bug spray and sunscreen.
They've got an informative nature center and the staff is friendly too. Highly recommend!

Without a botanical garden, this arboretum seems lacking to me. So much potential to make this place more lively but this arboretum and nature center turned out to be very underwhelming except for some nice paths to walk on.
If you’re looking to get away from people and to just walk along some trees then it might be worth it to visit this place. However, if you want to see more than just some trees then this place might not be it for you.
This place is definitely not worth a visit if you’re out of state. Check out other Houston parks (like Hermann Park) instead!
Parking is free on Thursday, otherwise you can pay $5 via meter or an app.

The entrance off of 610 leads you close to the nature center. Even on hot days there are one or two shady spots. It's a fantastic place to spend a day and get some exercise in as well. There in an abundance of local and invasive flora and fauna which you will likely run into if it's not too crowded. There is a play area, shady trails and a few ponds and what is passable as a small lake. Sometimes there is a guy who sells great popsicles. If it gets too hot there nature center is there to cool off a little bit out does close so monitor the times. There is a water fountain and you can get cool if not cold water after running it for fifteen seconds. The bathrooms are always exceptionally clean and the staff/volunteers are fantastic. We come here almost every week.

A true sanctuary, with carefully arranged trails [some shaded, some veryyy sunlit]. Seems like there's been a lot of conservation steps taken to revitalise the local ecosystem, so that makes the path-only requests all the more significant. There are plenty of benches throughout for folks like me that needed to sit&think. Really grateful that there's a spacious natural place in this otherwise car&road-heavy city.

This is amazingly a peaceful, quiet experience right in the middle of Houston. I like to come here when I want a bit of nature but don't want to drive too far out of the city. It looks different in every season, and the employees put a lot of work into this place. There has been construction for years around the Visitors Center but that has made a lot of progress and you are able to walk directly through the area now. There is a range of different habitats and the natural paths aside from the boardwalks allow for quiet walking without it being muddy. The Arboretum is quite dense. I've been to others where there are sprawling grass lawns, but here there is a lot of vegetation to protect, so you are for the most part limited to the paths, but they are spacious.
You won't get fully disconnected from the city; there is a regular train nearby that you will most likely hear during your visit (especially if you're out on the edges), but you will still encounter lots of wildlife like a wide variety of birds, turtles, and squirrels. I like taking pictures of seasonal birds, butterflies, and flowers. And the Arboretum paths are so sprawling that it never feels crowded. You might pass someone and then walk for a few minutes without running into anyone else. Parking is $5 or you can opt to buy the annual pass for $40, which is definitely worth it.

A great place to walk and see nature happen while it's happening. Native plants growing with trails throughout that are easy to navigate. I used my maps app to make sure I really wanted take a certain trail or not. Little areas to stop and read and there is a nice lake with seats. Awesome kiddie area and a building with souvenirs and learning centers. Entry is free but parking is about 5 dollars.

Park is well-maintained with multiple (unpaved) trail options. Contains a nature visitor center and shop, multipurpose room, playgrounds, parking lots, and indoor restrooms. Despite being located close to the city, the arboretum is a great place to get away from the busy city life.
Wish the parking was still free (like before).

I remember this being just a patch of dirt road that you had to know about to come and park your car anywhere. Now there is a center, paid parking everywhere, inner loop for walking only, outer loop for running and you'll see some service ATV's. The center is something for kids, a great and informative place.

I wanted to get the family out of the Greater North Houston bubble so I decided to bring them a little closer in. We enjoy being outdoors as a family so the arboretum seemed like an easy choice. I went to the website to get passes and found that they were having a family challenge on Saturday am so it was a no-brainer!
Parking and check-in was super simple and the family challenge was awesome! Beautiful grounds, lots of activities for the family, and very friendly staff. It was a little cold outside but all in all a great time. We will be back!

Great place for a spontaneous stroll with your kids, your partner, or even on your own. The park is a perfect place to get in touch with nature. Especially if you work in the city and just need a minute to breathe fresh air during your lunch break. Overall, it’s a very cute place. We saw a bunch of beautiful birds. Nice place within the city to go for a short hike and explore several well curated ecosystems. Has around 5 miles of winding trails through 150+ acres with a prairie, woods, and wetlands. Did 2.5 miles in about an hr and a half, saw numerous butterflies and some squirrels. Lots of activities for children. Free entry, paid parking.

Absolutely great place for beer lovers. Lots of space to choose from: indoors, patio, covered outdoor area, a large biergarten. And great variety of food! However, parking can be an issue there. There is definitely not enough parking spaces for such a huge drinking place. It is also not the safest area to park your car out on the street. But I can definitely recommend this place just about to anybody who enjoys beer!

Must add this brewery to your list. When you walk in, you are welcomed with a smile and get to choose between sitting inside, on the porch or outside under string lights. It’s a family / dog friendly atmosphere where you can have fun, drink, and eat. It’s a great place for parties too. There’s a small place for ball bounce, 15 different beers on tab and 7 ranch waters and sodas, but the foods disappointing. Sometimes there are food trucks but it’s best to eat before you come. Over all, it’s a good place to try lots of beers, enjoy time with your family, friends and fur babies.

Came here for the Karbach Love Street Music Festival and will definitely be back! Their beers are amazing, my favorite is the strawberry fields, and they also have their own ranch water with many flavors: lime, grapefruit, spicy mango, watermelon, original, and prickly pear! Aside from the drinks, the have a huge outdoor area and lawn with a covered patio and food trucks on site to enjoy! There are also tvs up, for a perfect spot to watch a game with friends! They are always putting on concerts as well, so be on the lookout for those!

Complicated long term relationship with these guys. They're my hometown brewery from years before that went big and got bought by big guys. Still... love their food, had the brie and prosciutto Sammy, and a hazy Hopadillo and their SESH IPA. Again both good beers and great service with Tom at the bar. Beautiful brewery and amazing Biergarden too. I have some pictures of my son and I here over 8 years ago... memories.

Very fun! I actually don't like beer, but this margarita drink was quite tasty and my friend had a flight with the Paloma version. Then we moved on to their Ranch Water, which was lighter. Vegetarian options are very strong, hummus plate was excellent, could easily ask to leave off the cheese and make it vegan. Everything pretzel was also very tasty. We ate in the restaurant, but outside behind the restaurant is more of a beer garden setting with picnic tables and room for kids to run around. Dog friendly.

Karbach offers plenty of space and serves up tasty food and various brews for a solid price. While the parking lot is small, there’s an auxiliary one across the street.
There’s plenty of space at Karbach from the downstairs indoor restaurant area, upstairs event room with balcony, and multiple outdoor seating and activity areas.

We already know the beers are great, but I didn’t know how good the food was. There are a few breweries around town that offer food but none as good as this. The burger and the fish were the most surprising. I would be happy for get those anywhere. The queso, pretzels and salad were also very good too.

We were there on 2/23/24. Not the warmest weather but we did sit outside and it was a little windy. There was a family function going on outside so there were some little children running around. So if that kind of action bothers you, you may want to set inside. Beer and Liquor choice and prices were very good. We had Wagyu smash burger, Steak tacos, and Korean Fried Chicken bowl. Chicken bowl was spicy if you like spicy. burger and tacos were yummy. We would recommend. My niece loves the place.

Karbach Brewing Co.: A Fun and Flavorful
Experience
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Karbach Brewing Co. in Houston, Texas, and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I stepped into their vibrant biergarten, I knew I was in for a treat.
Atmosphere and Vibe:
The brewery exudes a cool and welcoming vibe, making it an ideal spot for both beer enthusiasts and families. The outdoor area is spacious, with plenty of seating, games, and live music. It’s a place where you can kick back, enjoy a cold brew, and soak in the lively atmosphere.
Quality and Selection:
Karbach takes its craft seriously. Their beer selection is impressive, offering a diverse range of flavors. Whether you’re into hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, or crisp lagers, there’s something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed their Rodeo Clown and Hop Delusion—bold and flavorful choices that didn’t disappoint.
Service:
The staff at Karbach were friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the brewing process during the free tour, which was both educational and fascinating. Plus, they didn’t mind our little one tagging along. Kudos to them for being accommodating!
Food:
While the food was EXCELLENT, I’d say it’s the beer that steals the show. The biergarten menu offers tasty bites, but the portions could be a tad more generous for the price. Still, it’s a minor quibble considering the overall experience.
Final Thoughts:
Karbach Brewing Co. is more than just a brewery; it’s a place where people come together to enjoy great beer, good company, and a lively ambiance. Whether you’re a seasoned beer aficionado or a curious newbie, this spot is worth a visit. Prost! 🍻

Service was quick and friendly! Our waiter Jordan gave some great recommendations and there were excellent drink options for us non-IPA drinkers. You can't go wrong with that Everything Pretzel. We ordered the Prosciutto & Fig Pizza and Karbach Burger and they were amazing. Very well balanced and perfectly prepared. The Swag Shop was awesome and had a great selection even though we were there right after Christmas.
Only drawback is y'all are so far from Oklahoma! Can't wait to come back and stay a little longer.
