I've been to dozens and dozens of casinos throughout the country. This is truly one of the nicest I've ever been to. It is modern, clean and extremely well managed. The poker room is awesome! The poker tournament manager did an exemplary job and was super friendly. I have never seen a tournament that is so well run. They really have their stuff together here. I was only there for a day on the way to Tahoe, but we are already planning to come back for a week long stay at the Pepper Mill. I'm impressed to say the least.

The Peppermill, Where to start.
Positives: Plenty of things to do, Casino variety, excellent parking and access.
Lots of shops and activities. It looks really nice and fancy but looks can be deceiving.
Negative: This is mostly tailored to my experience. My girlfriend got us a couples suite. I believe it was the wedding suite(Not married just staying as a couple). When we got here it was around 1pm and check-in isn't until 3pm. We asked for early check-in and they told us no problem it will be just a bit. So we decided to go explore. 3pm rolls around and they told us they needed to go check if it was ready. It was not and they needed to clean it. 5pm rolls around...nothing, 6pm rolls around... still waiting. 8pm I went up and another service agent was at the table and they told us the room wasn't ready. Explained how long we have waited and they managed to get us a room. it was the room we were hoping for but my oh my was it horrible. the room had moths in it. The crows where cawing all freaking night long. They obviously put us in whatever couples room they had open cause the view out the window was just a wall. it was quite upsetting and it ruined our little couples trip. The resort overall is really expensive and to be honest not that impressive compared to other places you can stay at in town. When I made my complaint the next day they did drop the service fee and we decided to leave a day early and stay somewhere else.

The Peppermill is one of the top tier casinos and hotels in Reno. Their rooms are top-notch, especially the themed rooms. Their casino is expansive and very accommodating to various players. Whether you like table games or slots, they have you covered. Jackpots hit here at a good rate. Their slot tournaments are very rewarding. Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing resort. Oh, and the food options are amazing as well. The location is so-so as it is surrounded by low income housing, allowing for a lot of vagrants and beggers.

I got a suite there for 40 bucks because I had enough points from a casino game I play on my phone. I redeemed my points and only had to pay a resort fee. The suite was huge with a jet bathtub, fit two people easy. The shower had two heads, king size bed, and a bunch of coupons they gave me for other stuff. It's a beautiful casino, very clean, worker's are all polite. Check in and out was easy. Two thumbs up!

Love this place. Some of the best restaurants in Reno, and definitely one of the most lavish settings I’ve encountered. I don’t gamble, but I’ve met up with friends quite a few times and even gone solo a couple times for the hotel, food, and/or live music, and occasionally hit the shops while I’m there. I’ve heard from reliable sources that this is the nicest spa in Reno, and I can’t wait to check it out.

One of my most favorite hotels in Reno… well, just in general. I love the Tuscany side. You have to book a room on the Tuscany side as they have so much more to offer. I travel with my family a lot so having 2 King beds in a room is ideal. Other hotels offer two queens or full beds which can be entirely too small for two people.
The room offers a sitting area, closet, a massive bathroom with double sinks, a separate toilet, double head shower and a large jacuzzi tub. They have smoking and nonsmoking floors and if you don’t smoke- don’t get stuck on a smoking floor. It stinks. However, they do have air purifiers in the smoking rooms which helps out a lot.
Bimini is located in the hotel and is a must visit restaurant. Always love my experience and food there.
It’s a very lovely hotel and we are always lucky to find close parking. I love that there’s an arcade there for the kiddos to stay entertained, and not to forget the pools which are just lovely (and so beautiful to look at).
Highly recommend!

Central Casino close to airport and Riverwalk by car.
Clean rooms and casino. Great poker room! Lots of great restaurants. Tuscany Tower is more luxurious side to stay.
The Spa is absolutely amazing with 3 private floors. Hot tub, steam room, sauna, cold plunge pool.
Top floor has a pool with 2 small hot tubs, a veranda over looking the main pool. Massages are on the second floor and my 50 minute Swedish massage by Ginger was excellent.

The peppermill casino is wonderful..they have slot machines and poker tables but they have much more...they have a game arcade with retro games ..I do not gamble so that was really important to me....they have swim pools. A really big one a hot tub and a special pool with a kind of waterfall...they have a state of the art fitness center...I really enjoyed the fitness center with a sauna and treadmill, and very special machines and free weights. The service was phenomenal and I want to express how well they take care of you. Very good!!!! They have a variety of restaurants all good prices, and delicious.....visit this casino you won't be sorry.

The views are nice from our room. Nice pool and multiple gyms, restaurants and lounges. Comfy beds and pillows. We didn’t know at first but you can request a microwave, so we did. It was there within 10 minutes…anytime we requested anything it was always brought to us right away. Excellent customer service. The only downside was the temperature in the rooms. When we arrived it was 72 degrees in the room. It was dry and hot in our room while it was chilly and snow on the hills outside. We turned the fan on high and the temperature down. We could hardly feel any circulation. It took at least 10 hours for the temperature to decrease to 67. When we turned the fan off the temperature rapidly increased to 73. We kept the fan on the lowest temperature possible for the next 4 days, 24/7. No fresh air gives me anxiety. Other than that everything was excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone, especially the rooms with a balcony that are visible in the picture above.

The food is excellent. The staff, all of them, are awesome. The casino is very well laid out and is always clean. The comps are good, I have never paid for a room. I live in Reno but always take advantage of the coupon saying I have earned two free nights!

My husband and I just stayed here last week and we come here every year now for our anniversary because we love this hotel and it’s casino but this last trip we noticed their resort fees went all the way up to $45.20 a night which is fine except our bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and all the glass cups were disgustingly dirty so we couldn’t use them at all. Our vent system had mold coming out from the ceiling and this was the first time I had a room with these issues. Our door looked like it had been kicked in and glued back together and the mini fridge did not work. The room was not great but we will still be back. Just really disappointed in the condition of the room.

I absolutely love staying here! The Tuscany tower rooms are so great for large family’s who are on vacation. You can get rooms next to each other that also have a door to shut to both of the rooms. The beds are so comfortable. The room is clean and has such awesome art. Huge bathrooms with a huge jacuzzi tub. They each have their own balcony over looking the pools.

This was my first time signing up for Peppermill rewards. They made it easy. They verified my login information for the program and told me what to expect. So much more thorough than the "other" big casino program! Lastly, I love the high ceiling area. There is much less smoke smell... great job Peppermill 👏🏼

I booked a classic room and am looking forward to my next trip for a modern room just for trying. The staff checking me in was super nice, I love the room that I booked and it was a great experience. So far it was the best experience I had so far kicking Aria, Vegas from my top to second.

We ate at chi restaurant for my birthday. The food was great and so was our waitress. I even got a huge piece of coconut cake with a candle on it. Also, I'm allergic to garlic and black pepper, and my daughter has to be gluten-free. They made all the dishes free of the allergens. They also have gluten-free appetizers.

We can't say enough good things about the Peppermill staff ❤️ they go above and beyond and are so detail oriented. Truly blown away. One of the best customer experiences I've had post covid. Can't wait to come back!! The amenities are gorgeous and the mountain view from our room was stunning!

Was only there for a board meeting I don't Gamble. Casino was quite large. Food was good. We had a small meeting room and there's a $30 up charge for the HDMI cable to drive the big screen in the meeting room. We used small meeting room just off one of the restaurants.

This is my favorite casino in Reno and Northern California. The drink service is A LOT faster than any other casino I’ve been to in Reno. Tip good and you will be taken care of. Love the huge selection of machines. They have old school double top dollar which is always fun to play. Great place to have fun
Spencer N — Google review
Excellent resort. The SPA was better than every other resort spa I've experienced. Food was very good at CHI, and Cafe Milan. Solid table game action every time I was on the floor. Sports book was well appointed. Best whiskey bar by far...see allocated menu (2/22)

They have excellent restaurants! The eggs were cooked to perfection. I find that hard to come by. The staff in the casino were very supportive and friendly. I found them to be very charming and interesting. I would like to come again in the summer and possibly stay for the weekend to test out their hotel. Overall I think if you know how to have a fun time at the casino. This casino will be a blast.

Stayed in the Tuscan tower. The room was way beyond expectations. The room was immaculately clean and exquisitely furnished. The bathroom looked more like a studio apartment with the exception of the marble covering the bathroom, with walk in shower with 2 heads, his and her sinks with marble countertops and a vanity that spanned from wall to wall, jacuzzi bathtub that easily fit 2 adults and 2 small dogs. They even had room to fit a toilet in a small side room off of the main bathroom. The view overlooked the pool and spa area. Everything was very nicely done. Guest services are super friendly. My girlfriend had a job interview at 3 and they gave us a late checkout at 1 pm without hesitation. Was a very comfortable stay, the kind that you wish you didn't have to leave. I encourage others to find out firsthand. You won't be disappointed.

Had a great experience, the room was very clean and felt extremely comfortable. Lots of things to do, shopping, swimming, slots or even video games, they have a small cafe inside as well as restaurants to eat. 10/10. Will be coming back to see what else the resort has to offer

This casino/hotel has been around for years and looks very well maintained. What I found different in this beautiful casino is that there is a presence of helpful employees circulating in the gaming area. Have to also mention the CHAIRS, so comfortable & different from other casinos (ha, makes you want to stay & play). Also have mobility carts available for hotel guests and a parking garage. Hope to stay here next visit.

Beautiful property, elegant rooms. Food is very good but expensive, although it seems in.line with other nearby places. Great conference facility. Only downside-it took me 35 minutes to check in at 1 am, only one person at the desk until I was next. Then that person was having issues checking me in.

Excellent casino (except for the high amount of cigarette smoke, irritated my eyes and throat).
Beautiful decor, excellent food, good casino drink service, good gaming options.
The room was exquisite 👌! Huge, awesome shower, comfortable bed, didn't smell like smoke at all!

Great place in Reno to have a getaway. Sports book is great and bars are all over so something new to try every night! The spa was amazing! Plenty of Coed spots to hangout with your significant other or the men’s only has great spots to sit in the jacuzzi and watch a ball game, sorry ladies.
Jeffrey Allen — Google review
Pros: A fantastic place to host a conference, eat a wide selection of amazing food, get a lovely selection of spa treatments, and gamble (if that's your thing).
Cons: It's a massive maze of a place, almost no outside green space, and it smells like cigarettes 😝 in many main areas.
Note: I'm not a gambling person, so the whole casino vibe is as alien to me as another (tobacco infused and flashy) planet.
I will say that the resort does a great job of air filtration because the cigarette smoke is not a serious issue.
My king room was well appointed and luxurious. The lights are BRIGHT on the side of the building so bring an eye mask if you're sensitive to light at night.
If you're an outdoors fan like me, there's plenty to see and do a short drive away. Lake Tahoe is ~ 30 minutes.
Overall impression: opulent and extravagant... it's a casino after all.
Service is top notch and the staff go out of their way to make you happy.

(It's hard to judge a hotel because it really depends on what type of hotels you are comparing it with. In this case I am comparing the Peppermill Casino to other casinos in the area). With that in mind, I would say that the Peppermill resort spa Casino is one of the best hotels in Reno, NV. They really put work and attention into training their employees to make the guests feel welcome. The spa is very good: it is distributed in 3 levels: one has a pool with a few hot tubs and the salon spaces, another level is what the treatment (massage, facials, etc) rooms are and another level with the fitting rooms, sauna, down room, hot tub, etc.

First time in RENO in decades. Centrally located. Gambling was downstairs. Pool was refreshing. Didn't get to the fitness center, next time. Live band was good. Overall, would stay here again.

Five stars, five stars, five stars. I've stayed here four times, and it's just a fun hotel. It checks all the boxes for all different kinds of trips. Even after 4 trips I'm still exploring the hotel. It's has a lot to offer. The food, the customer service, the rooms, the gym, they're all awesome.
Brent Foster — Google review
Not a bad stay, my room was actually quite nice, see the attached photos. This place is truly massive over 1600 rooms, my primary complaint is that we still allow smoking indoors. How is this still a thing. It pained me to wander through the casino. I did have a go in the High Roller room, not all that impressive.
Dennis Peery — Google review
Meh - the room was pretty standard. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Room service was prompt and decent. Check-in took a little bit - the kiosks weren't working. I opted to use the in-room checkout but didn't get the folio/invoice. I called less than two weeks later waited on hold for 15 minutes to be told that since it had been 'SO LONG' since my stay, I had to call back when their accounting department is available. I won't be recommending this for any of my colleagues traveling to our Reno location.

We stopped by to check out the casino and hotel overall and had lunch at the deli in the casino. Good food and fast service. The hotel is VERY nice, much better than the Silver Legacy. The casino area is massive and clean, has plenty of staff, feels safe, and has tons of light and massive screens with the most amazing landscapes circulating. Large pool area. This hotel feels like a Vegas hotel, not a throwback Reno hotel. The casino did get smoky as the day went along. Many restaurants and shopping within the casino. If we visit Reno again, we will definitely stay here vs The Row.

Always a great place to stay. I’d say the best casino hotel in Reno. Beautiful rooms. The wife gambles, I don’t. But I enjoy the beautiful casino screens with beautiful videos from all over the world. Cafe is great but when are you bringing the buffet back?
German Goyena — Google review
My family and I stay here often. The variety of casino restaurants is great. The pool and arcade are our favorites for family fun. The spa also provides several services and is a must do.
buck growcock — Google review
Good environment and good energy if you want a crowd that believes they're going to win. Hit a jackpot first thirty minutes of arriving so really didn't get to explore the whole place but overall it was the best casino so far I've been to in Reno. Not just because of the win but it was cleaner and had a more of a winner's vibe than the rest.
Francisco Ulloa — Google review
I'm a little biased here. This is my goto casino resort. Great dealers, restaurants. Try the back bar for snacks and drinks the main bartender is awesome. Beautiful property. Great spa - get a treatment and you get an all day pass to the spa. Indoor pool and food service. Great way to relax. I stand by the 5 stars, however since covid the valet parking, the night club and the buffet have been closed. I would like to see those come back.

Ived stayed here a few times for work trips and always have a wonderful experience. The service here is top notch! We ended up having a delayed flight and didn't arrive to the airport until around 3AM. We were having trouble getting a cab to pick us up but the hotel happened to send the shuttle to get us (which was well past it's operating hours). Greatly appreciated the staff member who was able to assist us! Always my #1 choice of where to stay for business!

Wow!!! This hotel really is sweeter than the Gelato it serves. I loved the different boutiques. The service was 5 stars as everyone was nice, conversed with our group, and made sure everything was perfect. The hotel was clean and had amazing air purification systems because it wasn't too smokey. The games were good and the waitresses were amazing. Next time, we are booking here
The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning hotel with 8 restaurants and a luxurious casino. Guests can enjoy playing poker, as well as table and slot games in the main casino. There are 2 pools and 11 dining options. The resort also has an outdoor sun deck that's great for enjoying Reno's beautiful weather.
My husband and I took a spontaneous trip the visit the biggest little city. We made our way to the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and had the pleasure of dining at the Purple Parrot. The food was excellent and the customer service was top-notch! We ordered the chicken fried steak and the French toast sandwich. The over medium eggs were done to perfection and the chicken fried steak was tender on the inside crispy on the outside without too much salt like some places tend to add. The breading was not too thick and very flaky. The bacon was also properly cooked not too crispy not under done but nice and chewy just the way it should be. Our waiter was very friendly and on point when it came to ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction. The gaming floor was bright and vibrant and had a great selection of games to choose from including slots, table games, keno, and high limits. I highly recommend the Atrium Lounge when you need to regroup and relax. The lighting is appropriate for the setting and they have a great list of Wine and Spirits to choose from to Aid in that relaxation. Also the elevators are located in the area and are a feature unto themselves with their bright flashing lights and the decor has a modern art deco vibe to it which I found to be very aesthetically pleasing. The room rates are reasonable around the entire facility is very maintained as far as cleanliness and sanitation are concerned.
Jen Newman — Google review
Nothing outstanding in either the plus or minus column. Check-in was fast. Pool was cold but refreshing, bar service there was middle-of-the-road. Meeting rooms were decent, food for the event ranged around the middle but the fresh vegetables were of an excellent variety and steamed correctly which is unusual for a buffet. All the dishes were ok- nothing unpalatable but not hot enough to be still warm while seated and eating. Desserts looked great but I did not try them. Event service was friendly and surprisingly attentive.

One of my favorite places to come in Reno! Never stayed here so I can't rate the rooms but the games are hit or miss on your winnings, but the buffet is the main reason I come! The atmosphere is wonderful and the Waterfall they have is great for photos. The fire show outside when they have it is really cool to just sit and watch

Had an absolutely amazing time! So much fun I forgot to take more pictures! The rooms were very spacious and clean. They appear to be recently remodeled. The casino has made a lot of renovations in recent years. The marble at the bar is absolutely beautiful I’ve never seen anything like it. The gambling was great my wife and my friend took him some money! The best part is the casino did not smell like cigarettes! I will definitely go again and I highly suggest you visit as well!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, NV, and I am delighted to share my wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the exceptional level of comfort and the outstanding service provided.
The rooms at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa were incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail in the design and furnishings created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Every aspect of the room, from the plush bedding to the amenities provided, was carefully chosen to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home.

Their warm and attentive approach made me feel welcome and well taken care of throughout my visit. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant staff, everyone displayed a high level of professionalism and genuine hospitality.
The casino at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa was a true highlight. The vibrant atmosphere and exciting array of games provided endless entertainment. Whether you're a seasoned player or a novice, there was something for everyone. The staff in the casino were knowledgeable and friendly, creating a positive and enjoyable gaming experience.

I always enjoy Atlantis. It’s a bit grungy but in all the best ways. The casino is fun, not too big, but plenty of room. The restaurants are outstanding. I love Bistro Napa for a nice dinner, and can’t get enough of the deli for a sandwich and salad. Bar tenders are nice too. I haven’t stayed at a room here in awhile, my last experience wasn’t the best. But it’s a great spot for a casino, lunch, dinner or events space.

This place has ROACHES. This place is a absolute joke late night. Not only do all their customers look half dead at the same slot machine for hours. Their entire staff looks dead. Spent 3-4 hours in the casino and was only able to scrounge up 3 drinks. After going to bed late and waking up to take a shower I was greeted with a family of ROACHES under the sink. I immediately went to the front desk where they said they basically didn't believe me. I caught a roach in a cup and walked it right to the "Manager" Sandra and she literally told me they have roaches sometimes and when I told her that was unacceptable she just stared at me and said there wasn't anything she could do but help on the "Resort" fee. I just laughed and checked out. Reno has cool casinos. This is not one of them.

Close to the highways which made it easy to get to, and there was plenty of parking. The rooms was comfortable and the view of the mountains was an added bonus. I am especially thankful to the staff. Everyone was friendly and patient with our questions. Really glad I stayed here!

This stay was pleasant. The buffet was delicious with many choices to choose from. The Purple Parrot was good food and good service, as was the Oyster Bar. The rooms were clean and spacious. Room service was fast and served us with a smile.
There are two pools, one inside and one outside with both of them clean and enjoyable. There is also a beauty spa, which I regretfully did not get to experience so I cannot comment on that, but based on the rest of the stay I can only imagine it was nice too.
The casino was enjoyable too. I did not feel like I was throwing money away as the machines were generous with pay outs. This was my first trip to Reno and I will surely say that when I go back this is a hotel casino that I will visit again.
My only complaint would be that the soda machines did not have water in them and I had to travel to another floor to get water.
Thank you for a non greedy, and pleasant experience

I stayed there and the hot water did not work in my room. They also said I could not get a new room with running hot water until the next afternoon. They were very rude and they made it seem like it was an inconvenience to them for having to deal with something like that.
Also in the restaurant while dining out I was eating a salad and found a fly in it and brought it to the server attention for them to go get a manager she came up acted all snobby and gave the option of removing the plate from the table. I should of not even paid for the dine out experience. But I paid total cost and left a tip to the server

Resort is good for all the amenities they have. It’s huge but location is a bit away from downtown or midtown. Indoor Pool is good but outdoor jacuzzi pool isn’t relaxing as it’s small and kids are allowed so truly not relaxing. Decent gym. Good options for food at any time of the day. Couple of coffee places.
Our room had some issue with water heater so they gave us a different room.

I was really impressed with the Atlantis casino. My wife and I had stayed at the Atlantis a few years ago when they started their renovation. The newly renovated rooms were clean and new. Hadn't been back for almost 3 years. Walking into the casino this past weekend I didn't recognize the place. All the updates and upgrades they have done make a huge difference. The casino used to be very old and dark, now it's new, clean, and bright. I will make sure to visit the casino when staying in Reno!!

Perfect location if you're trying to get to the convention center. The rooms are clean and functional - everything works the way it's supposed to. There's an abundance of dining options or you could just order from their extensive room service menu. Can't go wrong with this place

Toucan Charlie's Buffet on a Saturday is pretty good. Dinner opens at 4:30. Expect an hour's wait in line. The tables in the booths don't move. So if you're large, you may want a table instead of a booth. The decor of the restaurant is nice. Saturday dinner is steak and seafood night, with some good Mexican-style dishes prepared also. The food was good for the most part. My piece of brisket was dry. The waiter was attentive to our table and kept the drinks full.

A nice clean hotel & casino, a variety of restaurants including a 24 hour cafe, 24 hour keno, decent rules on Blackjack, generous comps for players and most of all, THEY KEPT THEIR BUFFET!!! And I must say that the food at this buffet is not only at a good price, BUT, it's ALSO good quality food! This is why my I bring all my guests, friends and family to this hotel & casino to stay, play and eat. And I recommend that tourists and locals alike continue their support.
One suggestion I'd like to offer. Maybe consider bringing in the 'Triple Fortune Dragon Unleashed' slot machine. This slot is extremely popular at casinos in Washington State. I don't believe any casino in Nevada has this slot, but I must tell you that if you were to bring it in, you would immediately witness a cult following of players for this brand of slot. Just a suggestion

I frequently go to Reno. Stayed here twice at the Atlantis and liked the hotel from my previous experiences and was great so I booked another week this year. I asked for handicap accessible and they gave me a room 6th floor last room on that wing. I have disabled family members and they at least switched us rooms to accommodate. However next morning our van needed a jump and I asked security and called hotel staff and they were rude and not empathetic at all towards my father in law to help at all. Needless to say this will be the last time I stay here.

My husband surprised me with a spa day for my birthday and as excited as we were, the experience unfortunately left us feeling unseen and devalued entirely. They lost our spa reservation three times even after we had an email confirmation with all the correct services, dates and time. The first was when the called my husband to confirm the day before and they only had him down for his services. The second when we showed up for the pedicure portion and the third when they lost my message appointment. After that, the salon applied a nail polish that takes 1.5 hours to dry, which they didn’t inform me of until after they applied it, at which point I had to choose between wasting our money for the spa day or the nail service. I found it insane to think that a high end salon didn’t have gel for pedicures or a nail polish that wouldn’t be cured/dry by the time the service was complete. As for the message, my husband booked two deep tissue messages. When the lady rebooked my lost reservation, she carelessly booked my appointment incorrectly with a Swedish message which is what they ended up giving me. It wasn’t until I reconnected with my husband after his message that he informed me that he had booked us deep tissue and that they provided me with the incorrect treatment. He stated that he knows how much back pain I’m always in and that was the whole point of today…was to get me some physical relief with the deep tissue and that he would have never spent over $600 to get me a service that wasn’t going to actually make me feel better. When he complained about our experience the manager found it sufficient to only adjust the charge for two Swedish messages instead of deep tissue (a $40 savings 🙄) and to apply the locals discount which we are already entitled to since we live in Reno. We found it a slap in the face to adjust our total by $40 on an experience that cost us $600. After today we definitely won’t be recommending the spa experience to anyone nor spending our hard earned money at a location that could care less.

This is very nice casino resort. The rooms are clean and spacious with a great view of the mountains. The atrium with the swimming pool is gorgeous. The workout room has a wide variety of machine.
There are many options for dining and I was very impressed with the kids gameroom. I also loved the connecting walkway to the convention center.
My only complaint is that I wish the Fitness Center was open 24 hours. Everything else was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Luckily we did our research and chose to stay at Atlantis. The rooms were great, casino was fun. Service was great from servers who delivered complimentary drinks while we played. They also have seven bars where you can sit and play. Bartenders were super friendly and are well versed in a variety of cocktails. We were there Friday thru Monday and had a great time. We did venture down to Circus Circus and boy were we happy we didn’t stay there.
Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe is a ski resort in the Lake Tahoe area that boasts of having the highest base elevation for skiing. The resort offers 1,300 acres of carefully maintained ski runs suitable for skiers of all levels. There are seven chairlifts and three snowboard parks available to cater to visitors' diverse needs. For those seeking luxury accommodation, North Star provides slopeside five-star lodging.
Booked a first timer snowboard lesson online the day before a Friday. $155 ($10 helmet is extra) for gear and - 2 hour lesson. Our instructor was Christine - 75, looking happy and young!
You go down the stairs to check in and then head in to get your shoes then your board and you get a poker chip (number on it corresponds with the basket) if you need a bin to store your belongings.
Our class started at 10 and there was 5 in our group. We did some stretching first then went through some basic skills. It was about 1115 and we finally went up the magic carpet to go down the big bunny hill!
We took a lunch break. They have an assortment of electrolyte drinks, your sodas and bottled water. They also have prepackaged salads (I got the cobb for $12). They have meat and vegetarian chili, burgers, fries, chicken tenders, oranges and bananas from what I can remember.
With the package, you can ski until the park closes at 4p.
Our day was super gorgeous, and a fun one!

Mt. Rose is a great mountain! The lodge and rental area is very small, so it is easy to navigate and the mountain is suitable for all levels. It is very home-y and run by a great team of people that are helpful and nice. There are a wide variety of greens and blues on two of the ski lifts and a decent bit of blacks on the third ski lift. The runs are on the shorter side, I skied down a blue to the bottom in 4 minutes - however they are very fun blues. The lodge has a variety of vegan/ vegetarian options like vegan chili and wraps. They have great ski deals on certain days of the week - Thursday’s are half off for ladies during certain weeks in the season. In my opinion it would make for a great half ski day rather than a full if you are mid-level experienced.

Came here on March 15 and 16 2024 and skied all day both days. Prices are way better than the other mountains in the area and it wasn't crowded at all. I got there at 9am and was skiing by 9:30. Never waited more than a few minutes to get on a lift. They do $69 day passes for active duty (access for ALL lifts). Staff was super friendly and helpful. This was my first time skiing in almost 15 years, so I took a Next Step lesson and was able to pick it right back up. This place is great for people of all experience levels. Even the beginner slopes had plenty of variety. As someone who had never skied on the west coast before, I'm glad I found this mountain. Cannot beat the amazing views and the ease of accessing all the slopes.

Great ski experience! My family (kids and adults) learned ski here. Nice long runs for beginners to learn quickly. Kids lessons are very good. Coaches try to challenge kids so they improve fast. Coach Diane took our kids to blue runs for their first time and that really helped them.

There’s enough snow here to last all the way in the next December. However, they’re closing for the season on April 30. Seems like a waste, but people will have the other interests as the weather warms up. This is a popular ski resort with locals and tourists alike. With lots of runs when they’re able to keep them open.
The food in the lodge is pretty good and reasonable for a ski resort. If you plan on visiting Mount Rose, you better hurry.

I’ve been in many ski resorts in Tahoe but mt rose is a whole different animal, it provides all ski levels, parking isn’t not an issue unlike most of the other resorts, staff is very nice and friendly. For you little ones they have magic carpet where you can train young kids….its definitely worth it coming here….will probably bring my family next winter.

We had both of our kids (7 and 9) take their first lesson on skiing at Mt Rose at the end of 2021 (right after the HUGE snowstorm), and the instructors and employees there were fantastic! My boys loved learning to ski, and my youngest took his instructor’s advice to heart, and said, “I need to take another lesson.” My oldest said that he “got the basics down and didn’t need another lesson,” so we scheduled a second day.
While my youngest took his lesson, my oldest and I tried out the beginner terrain off the Wizard chair lift. My youngest was super jazzed after his lesson and joined us for a few runs. The beginner runs at Mt Rose are fantastic - we didn’t even get to try the lift that is halfway up the hill for more beginner trails. All of the employees on the magic carpet and beginner lift were so nice and helpful - they weren’t annoyed at all if you messed up getting on or off the lift.
My only issue was that they closed the lifts at 4pm (which I totally get since it gives you time to return your rentals before it gets dark). It’s a great deal if you take lessons in the morning because then, you have about 4 hours to do some runs. But if you do the 12:30 classes, you end at 3, so you only get an hour to do a couple of runs before closing time.
I can’t say enough about Mt Rose - such a great place. I hadn’t snowboarded in about 14 years, so all of the beginner terrain was great to help me get going again, and it was super fun for the kids! I highly recommend this place if your are just starting out!

This was a wonderful place for first-time skiers. We did the 2 day lesson "flight" pass. Both days, we were paired with amazing instructors who were very patient and helpful in their methods of instruction. I can not say enough good things about Ermano and Bruce. Chris also instructed my husband and younger son, who were more advanced and/or confident than I was after the 1st day. They really had a great time with him, too. The staff in the pro shop were also very helpful and patient with us in getting us all the necessary gear. I also think Cathleen was awesome at the Magic Carpet in helping ensure I always got on safely and giving pointers to make it easier for the next time. I look forward to coming back again!

Great local's area. Only a half hour drive if you live in South Reno like me. Hardly any lines (virtually none on weekdays). Highest base elevation in the area. But this is not a "resort destination" area as the dining options are basic and limited and there's not any sort of village or bar/dining at the top of the mountain. It's really a locals hill, or a place to go for visitors that want to avoid the crowds/lines at the other more popular areas in the Tahoe Region. My main gripe is their Season Pass, unlike the EPIC Pass, doesn't work at any other ski areas other than their own. If I were living in NW Reno I'd probably get the EPIC Pass and ski Northstar and then use it at other areas in Colorado, California and Utah.
This was a great season! Although as a Season Pass Holder at Mt. Rose, it's really disappointing for an area that their marketing slogan is how high their base elevation is compared to other resorts in the area, that even in a record snowfall year, the season has not been extended anywhere near as long as other lower elevation areas in the Sierra Nevada region have (some to July 4, they are ending on April 30! Are you kidding me?) I realize of course this is probably purely an economic decison to not extend the season to at least Memorial Day Weekend. But as a Business Owner myself, I'm honestly a bit surprised there's not some creative solution to create a win-win situation operating beyond April at least at some limited capacity.
Rumor has it since Mt. Rose is on BLM Land, their permit doesn't allow them to operate past April. If this is indeed the case, it's a little surprising in such as huge record snowfall year, their marketing department didn't at least send out an email to all the Season Pass Holders explaining this, or, negotiated a one-month extension with BLM considering the unique circumstances.

If you love skiing, but want a more "where the locals ski" experience, Mount Rose is the place to go. Mount Rose is much smaller and commercial than resorts like Heavenly or Northstar, but that doesn't mean that it feels small or cramped. This resort has a great variety of runs for beginners and seasoned skiers alike, and I love how friendly everyone seems to be here. The lines go by much faster, the runs are fairly long, and if you can handle going down intermediate runs, you can park in the back lot and literally park within stone's throw of a ski lift. While I still enjoy the larger resorts, this one will still be my go-to when I feel like relaxing at a resort that feels comfortable and homey.

Mount Rose is a mountain in the northern Sierra Nevada Range, located a few miles northeast of Lake Tahoe. It's the highest mountain in the Carson Range, which is on the east side of Lake Tahoe. Great for skiing. It's also the highest Nevada mountain in the Sierra Nevada Range.
Mount Rose is 10,779 feet above sea level. So you will be avle to go down various different types of hills. It's the second highest peak in the Lake Tahoe Basin, after Freel Peak.
Mount Rose is located 25 miles southwest of downtown Reno. It's also 11 miles northeast of Incline Village on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Very easy ti get to from our place
The Mount Rose summit trail has one of the most diverse wildflower communities in the Tahoe Basin. The lower elevations are covered in sagebrush and grass, with white bark and lodge pole pine.
The Mount Rose hike is roughly 11 miles round trip, with a total elevation gain of 2,500 feet. Most people complete the hike in 6 hours.
Overall, its a great place for skiing. There are a lot of hills to go down, and it is very large.

First time trying skiing, and my husband on the snowboard, firstable the drive from South Lake is not too bad. It's very pretty. There is plenty of free parking, which is part of why we choose this place. Everyone is very helpful in getting your rentals, where to leave your stuff and just information in general. If you are a beginner, they have a great space for practice, I guess it is the kids' area, but it's very helpful. We went for the half day afternoon. It was enough time to try and wet on the lift a few times . I'll highly recommend getting a lesson!! it will make your life so much easier , we are very athletic and we really wished had signed up for the class. Anyway we had a lot of fun . Don't ask me about my tomorrow soreness 😂

20 mins away from Reno and the one of most community minded ski resorts in the area, provides a little bit of terrain for all different level skiers. You a beginner? They got you. Dare devil? Got some steep runs for you (weather permitting). Offers rentals of equipment & sales of personal ski/snowboard clothes (NO. They don't rent pants, coats, gloves, socks or goggles). Classes for kids are the best! Most of the parking lot is close to the hill so you won't have to take a bus, shuttle or anything, but it can be full during holidays.
You need to have a lift ticket and equipment to go on the lifts, there is no lift for sight seeing from the top.

Wanted to give Igor a special shoutout! He was amazing at showing us first timers how to ski. It was a busy day so they had stations with instructions but we got luck enough to catch Igor. When waiting for the 3rd station, he came up to us and had us join his group. He is very patient and encouraging. He got to know each one of us and customized one of the runs to one of our group members likes. HIGHLY recommend requesting him if given the chance !

The Nevada State Museum, housed in the historic Carson City Mint building, showcases permanent exhibitions on the state's geology, history, and culture. Additionally, it often features rotating displays highlighting local and regional history. Visitors can see fascinating artifacts such as a stuffed Columbian mammoth and Nevada's state fossil - an ichthyosaur. The museum offers a unique perspective on one of America's most distinctive states with its liberal values and rich heritage.
The Nevada State Museum is fascinating! I have been to a lot of museums, including those in Washington DC, and this one is my favorite! It is huge, one visit is not enough. They have a Native American section, Geology, Natural History, Nevada History, a Ghost Town, and my favorite, the very realistic Mining Tunnels! The historic Nevada Mint is part of the museum and they mint coins on Saturdays. Altogether, a wonderful experience!!

It's been a while since I've been to the Nevada State Museum. This day, coin press #1 was stamping a special coin. The coin is to honor DATSOLALEE. She was the queen of the basket weavers.
Their are many exhibits to see in the museum. There are plenty of old west artifacts and pictures. A very large gun exhibit was my favorite. The museum is a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with the family. Or even on tour own.

The Nevada state museum is amazing. It has very interesting exhibits about Nevada's history including natural history and the native people of the state. They have the original coin press from the museum's days as a US mint and you can have commemorate coins pressed on it on Saturdays. The museum itself is not very big but they do a great job cramming in a lot of fascinating information.

What an excellent State Museum! From the ancient history of Nevada to modern day, everything is in one place. It is a wonder that such a sparsely Populated state would have such an amazing museum. Especially enjoyed the taxidermy and Nevada history wings. I didn’t realize this was a US mint so there is a lot of history here. Not just the gaming industry but all the mining and contributions that Nevada, the state has made. I highly recommend taking time out for this Museum it’s fun to know as much about the state as it’s residents.

We had a wonderful visit to this museum. There were two field trip groups of children but the lady at the front told us their path so that we could go opposite of them. Lots of useful and interesting artifacts, fossils and the variety of information is very thorough from the beginning of time throughout today. It has exhibits of all things Nevada.
We will come back to Carson City another day to see the railroad museum. This was plenty for one day.

I have visited many museums around world, this is a cute local museum with some unique exhibits about Carson City Mint and the silver mining. I was visiting a former colleague who has been living in Carson City for over 24 years after she got retired. She recommended the museum and we had a good time checking out the exhibits. As a guy, I also liked the gun exhibits and early gambling slot machines, you don’t see those exhibits in other major museums. The natural history section is very rudimentary. In all, it was well worth the two hours we spent there! Cheers!

Very interesting place with many highlights. In the cellar there is a gold mine replika of impressive size. A part of the museum is in the old mint building, you can still see the old coin press. Also a large collection of silver art, a historic weapon section, the history of the state, the story about native Indians, information about fauna and flora and many more. Also a large giftshop. This was amazing! Perfect for any age. It gives plenty of information about history through the museum with some fun things even the children can look at and probably ask questions. There is a whole part with a ghost town and a hidden staircase to a mine section. The worker there was great, I didn't talk much to him, but my father chatted with him for a while and helped with some questions. It's a great place for visitors to learn about Nevada!!

I love a good museum! This place was surprisingly good. The parking was free as I found a place in the small parking lot right behind the museum. The cost to enter was $10.00. The clerk was helpful, provided a map, and how to navigate the building. The only downside is I went on a Saturday to see the mint working, but it was offline on the day I went.
The amount of information and exhibits was impressive. You can learn about the people, walk through a recreation of a mine, see a ghost town, learn about the mint, see a bunch of local wildlife, and much more. I recommend planning at least two hours to get through everything the museum has to offer.
The only reason I gave the museum four stars is the mint being offline. I checked the website and GoogleMaps before making the drive and nothing said the mint was down. Other than that it’s a definitely must see if you’re in Carson City!

We hadn’t been to the Nevada State Museum for a while and decided we needed to revisit this place. So we set out on a rainy day with nothing else to do. We were glad we did as the exhibits there are so well displayed. There was a section on the history of gambling in the Nevada that we hadn’t remembered and that was particularly well done. Also much had been added to enhance the Native American section. We ended up getting a few items from the gift shop also. All in all, it was a very enjoyable visit.

Visited the State Museum with my family and we had a great time. It's not a huge Museum but it's sure filled with a lot to see. One of our favorite parts was the mint area. The video you can watch has some really interesting information on Carson City and the history of the Mint through the years. They do have it open to see actual minting of coins but just on Saturdays I believe. There are parts that they are expanding and we can't wait to go see the new parts of the museum when it's all done.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum is a large collection of historical trains and equipment dedicated to the preservation of Nevada's railroad history. The museum boasts various types of historic train cars and smaller rail equipment on display, along with an abundance of interesting historical information. Visitors can walk inside some train cars in the second building while listening to engaging stories and facts from the knowledgeable museum curator. A stop at the gift shop before leaving is recommended for train enthusiasts who want to take a piece of history home with them.
This is a very large museum with many real, historic trains in it. Besides the different types of trains, there are also smaller rail cars and equipment displayed. The back wall is full of historical information that was extremely interesting! The second building held more train cars that you could walk inside. The museum curator back there was full of train stories and facts which really brought the history alive! A visit to the excellent gift is in order before leaving. If I didn't love trains before this trip, I do now!

If you like trains and you're in the area, this should get pinned on your e-map. There is a working engine for rides, some interesting train cars outside, nice depot, great static displays in the museum building and a warehouse with an engine and more train cars. If you go past the warehouse there are several disintegrating old train cars in a fenced in area. I've been here a few times and enjoy it every time.

We win sometimes and we lose sometimes but we always have an enjoyable time! The only thing keeping us from giving a 5 star rating is that smoking is allowed and that is a big turn off for many.

Went to check out the casino and found out there was a bbq cook off on the top of the parking garage. Score! Tried some ribs after playing some blackjack. What a nice surprise. Carson city ribs were the best!
The Washoe Club Museum & Saloon is a famous establishment dating back to 1862, known for its rich history and paranormal activities. The museum portion of the venue features exhibits showcasing its intriguing past, while ghost tours provide visitors with a firsthand experience of the supernatural. Tickets are priced at $8 per person, which also provides a $1 discount on drinks purchased from the saloon's bar.
Great place if you are into haunted places and paranormal stuff. Tickets are $8 and tours start every hour, as for now the last one was at 5pm but better call them to double check. Ticket give you 1$ off drinks at the bar

A fun place to visit and get some history and a drink. Very dog friendly. Two dollars or a drink will get you access to the museum in back, along with the crypt. They also have a full tour of all floors available to purchase.

Great place to grab a drink and take a haunted tour! Our tour guide was really informative and had great personal photos and audio to share with us. You get $1 off your beverage at the bar if you show them your tour tickets.

Very cool place to stop by. Drinks were good and cheap, but the tour was the neat thing. Interesting history and the tour was done well. I'd recommend checking it out if you're into history or ghost things.

What an incredible place. Hanging out at the bar is a great experience. The ghost tours are definitely worth it. 30 to 40 minutes upstairs on the second and third floor and more.

Outstanding place to visit while in Virginia city. For ten bucks of so you get access to the whole place to explore and take it all in. This place is one hundred percentage creepy. The third floor is possible the most haunted of the whole building. Fun for the whole family , no doubt about it!

I wish I took pictures but I did an overnight there. I caught spirits. Haunted but good people. Haha. The people that work there. So friendly and nice. The people in Virgina City are just nice in general. I'm coming back for that drink though.

Took the tour it was very informative but stay with the group because getting off on your own is spooky.
My wife took a picture in the mirror and swears she caught a shadow figure behind the door.
Blow up the pic and see what you think!

Great place to have a drink then do the tour. Keep in mind you can see the museum, spiral staircase, and stone room (crypt) in the back without doing the tour. Tour was worth the $10 but might be a bit unexciting for those that don't buy into the whole ghost/supernatural thing. If you are tight on time (or money) and aren't a Ghost enthusiast, you wouldn't be sorry you missed the tour but otherwise I'd say it's definitely in the top 4 things to do in this little historic town.
Tour guide was informative but definitely was catering to the Ghost Hunter Crowd but I refrained from asking hard questions in order to not impede on the other people's enjoyment. Kids in the group loved it. In the Winter, bundle up as the tour is in the unheated area of the building. Didn't eat here but bar service was great.

First time doing a ghost tour and it’s very disappointing. Unknowledgeable and rude ghost tour host who is pushing you through the rooms quickly while telling you that she has a time limit. There was a total of 5 of us and 3 people at the bar. Rude bartender. I’m sensitive to spirits and didn’t pick up anything. The scariest part of the tour was the unsafe conditions of the building. It would have been more interesting learning more about the building. The history of the Crypt was very interesting otherwise just another want to be haunted tourist trap building.

LOVED it! Very cool, with LOTS of history to it. It was even on the program "Ghost Adventures."

A definite stop if you are a paranormal fan. The tour was entertaining and allowed you to roam around. You were free to take photos, record video and basically anything paranormal related. Our tour guide was really nice and knew interesting tidbits. Afterwards we went to the museum where ghost adventures played on a loop. Visit the bar and spend time talking to the bartender. She is an incredibly nice person and is willing to share her experiences at the Washoe. I had a blast and really enjoyed myself. The tour costs $10 and occurs every hour and ends in the museum. The museum is $2 but if you are drinking they let you in.

This was a really fun saloon. The bartender was really nice. And the drinks were well made. I did not go on the ghost tour, but the museum was fun all be it small. The museum is free with a drink purchase or $2 a person. I did like how clean the bathroom was.
Beautiful Church beautifully located you can not asked for more seeing all the views behind. Also, all the interior all the woodwork such as benches rails, divisions pillars and sealing are absolutely beautiful plus all the stain glass windos amazing. Also, a person at the church store is a very nice, pleasant man can share some information about the town.

Of all the tours we did in Virgina City Pat our tour guide at St. Mary's museum, was by far the most knowledgeable. He also does tours at the Sutro Tunnel. My wife and I really enjoyed our time here. The church is beautiful and very peaceful. Since Virginia City was full of Irish Catholic minners the churches history is really a great place to get a history of the city.

This church is gorgeous inside and out. I loved the ceiling beams the most. The wood beams are really a work of art. There's a gift shop at the entrance where you can buy postcards or candles to light. A museum in the basement that's really cool to see with a lot of old photos and memorabilia.

We drove over from the Sierras looking for a good hearty breakfast and we found it. I ha been to Sharkey's a long time ago as a kid and it brought back good memories. I do wish they had a hat or sticker I could have purchased and brought back to my dad. Regardless, I paid for breakfast and quickly won back the money in the casino. Will definitely return when I have more time to spend.

We came here for a late lunch/dinner with my in-laws. There was lots of restaurant seating available, but not much parking available for the disabled purely because the casino was busy. My mother in law uses a walker, and the tables were big enough that we could keep it out of the way. I had the volcano burger and was disappointed. It was dry, and all you could taste was hot sauce. Everyone else had the prime rib with baked or twice baked potatoes and veggies, and they all loved it. They said it was cooked perfectly, and the potatoes had all of the fixings.

You can tell a lot about a company food quality this way...
It's B & G was poor.
And the waitress that was with us wasn't attractive at slender, but boy what a bad attitude she was acting like she worked at casino all night and then had to work breakfast..

My friend recommended me to try out the cafe in the casino. I’m so glad I did! My boyfriend and I drive from Carson City to come and eat at this Cafe. I recommend the beef barely soup and I take some to go too. I always look forward for the BEEF BARLEY SOUP when I come in on Sunday since it’s a soup of the day. We always get a different waitress when we come in and overall the girls are always fantastic. I’m looking forward for next time and the next time after and so on!

Still in a very good place to get food and drink at a reasonable price. Good atmosphere. Good weight staff. The food comes out relatively quick. And of course the prime rib is very good The price has gone up but it's still reasonable for a big slab of meat. It's a good place to watch a game also. Gaming good. Cold beer good. Good parking. Very good for handicap access. If you don't like smoke yeah you can hang hams upside down in there and they will cook.

Staff is amazing! Really thought Kat bartender is excellent. Very friendly and she made me feel comfortable for my first time visiting this casino.
Really cool historical park with both indoor and outdoor exhibits. In the visitor center make sure to check out the florescent minerals exhibit. Wear sensible shoes as there's a lot of walking or book a tour in one of their 4-wheelers. This place is pet friendly but my dog wouldn't walk across the mine bridge as it's an open mesh and you can see way down into the mine.

Don't just drive through tonopah like I did for many years, take the time to stop and visit this fantastic historic mining park. Excellent experience we had there. The self guided tour is fun and you get to lots of stuff. The staff are absolutely fantastic. We stayed at hotel next door and parking was great. Highly recommended for people that are on a visit to Tonopah or passing through on a road-trip. 😊👍

5 stars still not enough!! Great step back into history, made even better with Jeff's, my guide, expert knowledge of the workings of the mines. Along with a great insight into what takes maintain the great site for future generations.

I wasn't really sure what to expect, since I had no idea what silver mining looked like. It was totally worth it. I feel like I learned a bit about how the west was built, how mining worked, and just generally local history.
It was pretty cool, but I wish I had planned for more time to walk around. I think I probably missed a lot of what makes this place worth visiting.
Dave Hogan — Google review
This was an awesome experience. For $3 you get to explore the mines and ruins at your own pace, and between the paper map and all the signage, one could easily spend 2-3 hours here if you want to see everything. I spend about 45 minutes and felt like I barely scratched the surface (ha) of all the history there is to see here. You can go into some of the buildings to see the old equipment, and metal grates allow you to safely stand directly over DEEP stopes and mine shafts if you are brave enough. Staff are very friendly and have lots of helpful information about the park and the Tonopah area.

We had a great time. Free museum and only $3 per person for park entry. There is so much to see. The docent was very knowledgeable and helpful and recommended some great spots. The park is huge, we were only there for about an hour but you could easily spend a day here. We only covered a small portion of the park. Great experience, next time we're in town we plan to check out other sections of the park.

Ubehebe Crater is a large and dramatic crater in the Nevada desert. The crater was created by large steam eruptions some 7,000 years ago. The crater is easy to hike around, but be aware of the difficult climb back up if you decide to venture down into the crater.
Incredible Sight to watch.
The hike down is around 500 feet down. There is a lot of gravel on the path going down, making it a lot easier to hike down to the bottom of the crater. But it also makes it a little hard to hike up the hole.
Rahul Singh — Google review
A bit of a drive but oh so worth it for the hike and sites. We had a beautiful hike around the crater and enjoyed the surrounding vistas and wildflowers. We did not venture to the bottom however many did and it looked steep but very doable. Definitely worth a visit and the drive out is interesting.

Didn’t expect it to be this huge. Also didn’t know you were allowed to hike around it. Nice parking spots right next to it. Really awesome sight while getting some exercise. Bring hiking shoes and a sandwich. It’s a good hour hiking around this and the few smaller craters next to it.

A stunning volcanic crater where you can hike around the rim, or down to the centre. If you’re visiting Death Valley National Park for more than one day, then this is perfect for Day 2 after you’ve checked off the well known things like the salt flats and artists palette. It takes around an hour to hike the rim, including photo stops. From the parking lot, go counter-clockwise; the initial incline is a bit steep on very loose gravel, but after that it’s more straightforward. It’s quiet compared to other sites in Death Valley.
Christopher Smee — Google review
This has a wonderful sight. The hike around this crater seems a bit steep but can hike it easily. We saw some wildflowers that looked very beautiful. There are many craters in this place we can hike around all of them but the big one near the parking lot was the best in my opinion
Sowmya R — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. A ranger suggested hiking down to the bottom of the Crater and it was so fun! There were cool formations and slot canyons down in there, and looked otherworldly. Getting back up was no joke, but well worth it for the exploration.

Ubehebe Crater is well worth the hour and 15 minute drive from Furnace Creek. The crater is surrounded by an ash field that you traverse on your drive up to a nice parking lot. The crater drops sharply off from the parking area, with trails available to go to the bottom (going down is easier than getting back up) or to walk around the crater. It is an impressive site. All the roads are in great shape and you get to travel a good portion of the north-south part of the valley with great views of alluvial fans and mountains on each side. There is no picnic area, but there are bathrooms and shade at the currently closed Grapevine Ranger Station at the junction of North Highway and Scotty's Castle road.
Andy Schlei — Google review
The walk to the bottom of the crater seems very fun and easy. But it’s extremely tiring to walk up again. If you want to burn some extra calories definitely worth checking it out from the bottom.

Very cool and unique spot in Death Valley! It was less crowded than some of the attractions closer to Furnace Creek. I really enjoyed the hiking in and around the crater, and the surrounding landscape. There were quite a bit of flowers blooming this weekend too!

Easily the best detour I made in my entire stay at Death Valley. It was just a couple of miles out of my way on returning from Eureka Dunes on my way back to Badwater. The views were absolutely stunning! I saw that nobody was hiking the entire perimeter, so I took it upon myself to do so, and it rubbed off on some fellow adventurers, as I saw a few here and there following my steps as I finished trekking the crater. The small Ubehebe looked like a movie set creation rather than pure nature! It's definitely something to admire! Parking lot is fairly small, I was lucky to find a spot upon pulling up on a Thursday. Can only imagine the headache on a weekend though.
eclipse258 — Google review
Ubehebe Crater is a wonder of nature not to be missed. It was created by steam and gas explosions when hot magma rose up from the depths and reached groundwater.
It is easily viewed from the parking area. Better views can be had by following the trails around the perimeter of the crater. There are colorful layers inside the crater. The views from this site are spectacular!
It is easy to get to the crater. The desert and moutains are quite beautiful as one drives to the crater. The parking area is not that big. It's probably better to go earlier in the day than later to avoid crowds.
It is approximately a 1 hour drive from Stovepipe Wells.

Hole-y moly! That's huge! It's an incredible site to witness the aftermath of a steam eruption. There are actually multiple craters here adjacent to each other that you can hike around. Watch for slippery gravel!

Very recent volcano eruption (2000 years ago). I would recommend to walk around the crater. There is more little craters you can view from up top.
Walter Scotty's Castle is a bizarre, yet beautiful, manmade attraction in Death Valley National Park. It was built by a con artist named Walter Scott, who deceived several wealthy investors out of their money by claiming he had found gold on the property. The architecture and grounds of the castle are worth an hour of your time if you're in the area, and photography inside the house is prohibited.
Scotties Castle and Death Valley was the highlight of one of our first major camping trips. Scotties Castle was totally amazing and the stories that were told were even better. The waterfall in the living room was something else and real did cool things off without the need for A/C. Sorry to see it closed. We drove 200 miles out of our way to see Death Valley and it was totally worth it.

Currently closed. Scotty's castle is a beautiful desert castle with a ton of interesting history. Located in Death Valley this property has two large swimming pools, a power generation station and a large underground tunnel. Definitely worth the drive when the remodel is complete.
Maggie Mynier — Google review
Great preview tour! The tour guide seemed to have some of her Scotty facts wrong, but other than that it was a wonderful time. Had the whole place to ourselves (the group was limited to 10 people).
Supposedly the highway and Castle will reopen in April 2023 once construction of the visitor center is done and the ranch's possessions are moved back from storage.
The highway is completed, but has not reopened because, according to the tour guide, the construction workers don't want to deal with would be tourists trying to get on premises while the castle is closed and they're working. 🤷♀️

Don't get sucked into driving the Scottys Castle Road, only to find that both the ROAD as well as the castle are closed. NPS has not marked this well.
Maybe to justify the existance of the Northern office. There were a number of vehicles making this mistake.

I was lucky enough to get the rare opportunity to tour of the castle. It was close down a few years ago after a flood damaged much of the property. This castle he’s a true treasure. It was built on one of the biggest lies told in death Valley. I ConMan name Death Valley Scotty Created a fake gold mine and took investors money. One of the investors became friends with Scotty despite being cheated out of money. The investor ended up building this castle. Titus Canyon Road is a scenic route featuring a long, slender gorge with an unpaved pathway. It is surrounded by limestone formations, petroglyphs, and indigenous plant life. This area boasts dazzling views of the natural landscape and ancient rock art created by Native Americans. The canyon walls are tall and rugged, providing a unique experience for visitors who want to explore the beauty of the natural environment in this region.
Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes are a great spot to photograph sand dunes and the surreal mountain rangers who live around them. The dunes shift form throughout the year, so there's always something new to photograph. It's also a great place to practice your composition skills.
Nice easy access sand dune. Much easier to climb then Kelsi Dunes. I think sunset is the best at this location with all the shadows band contrasts. However, if going for a sunset, leave early as the parking lot gets full and several people are already claiming spots atop dunes to view the sunset.

Was an awesome hike and would wander through the area again. Highly recommend getting there early to avoid crowds and some of the heat as well as provide better photography opportunities. Not a designated trail but sand dunes to walk as far as you want through. Climbing the steeper dunes and through the sand made it tough but great views and photos. Went in February and still got plenty hot, carry water if you’re going to be out in the sun.
Ryan Lewandowski — Google review
The sand dunes are so cool! If you come at different times, you can catch when the dust clouds cover up the mountains as if they were never there! Super neat spot to just look at or to hike around.
Sasha Voinov — Google review
The sand dunes are a far out, no service, wide open adventure. It has plenty of parking, no end to the views, tons of great photo ops, and beautifully fresh, clean air. Nighttime offers some of the absolute best views of the relaxing night sky, but daytime is where the excitement is! Have plenty of water and NEVER leave the road/trail-it is called Death Valley for a reason! I've seen people go down (down the hills and down on their face) using skim boards, boogie boards, surf boards, trash bags, snow sleds, skis-just anything and everything they can think of! It's a fun spot to take the family and watch everyone else having fun while I relax under my umbrella (there is NO shade).

A great experience. Glad we didn't pass this one by. Unique spot in the middle of Death Valley. No place like it. Prepare yourself if you want to hike out to any of the peaks. Sand is really hard to walk in and there aren't really any short cuts. Visited in December and we were still somehow sweating with 70 degree weather. Make sure you bring water and snacks if you're spending time out in the dunes. Some of the sand is magnetic. Make sure you protect your phone and cameras. Bathrooms are available in the parking lot. Plenty of parking space.

Another incredible thing to visit within Death Valley National Park! Visit in a cooler month so you can experience a hike across the sand dunes. We hiked to the tallest dune, which took 45 mins to get there and 45 back (lots of photo stops along the way). There’s no set trail, so enjoy creating your own adventure. Crowds get thinner the further away from the parking lot you get. Bring plenty of water and a snack. No entry fee for the sand dunes, but you pay to access the National Park.

You're able to hike wherever you'd like in these dunes- there's no specific trail. Come early as the sand already gets toasty even on a spring day. This place feels out of this world!

Very fun place for kids and adults to explore 4 different varieties of sand dunes all in close proximity. Would recommend coming an hour or two before sunset, exploring/playing on the dunes and then watching sunset there. Also one of the best places in the park to star gaze about an hour and a half after sunset. On a clear night, you can see milkyway!
Claire Audette-Bauman — Google review
One of the good places to see sunset and the night sky in the Death Valley. Small parking lot so we had to park at the shoulder area.
Hiking in sand is good for burning off some calories. The lower one was easy to get to. For some higher ones was moderately challenging for some but the view is awesome.
Some people brought along their boogie board. So much fun you can do in the sand dunes area.
Did I mention that Star War was filmed here too.

This was one of my favorite points of interest in the Death Valley. The landscape is very nice with the sand dunes and desert plants. You can take very good pictures here. But prepare yourself to sweat!
Carlos Marti — Google review
The Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes are stunning!! The soft, fine sand makes for a different walking experience than other parts of the desert where the ground is more solid. You don’t have to walk far into the Dunes to appreciate the view, but walking in further allows you to feel transported to another world.
If you go during the day, you are treated to colors of creams and off white from the dunes complemented by the browns of the mountains. We went during sunset, and being in the dunes at that times gives you a beautiful view of pink coloration against the mountains. You can explore the dunes, themselves, and on lower levels you can also see mudflats. While everything here looks “the same”, it is wild to walk around and let yourself get immersed.
Fun Fact: For Star Wars fans, this is one of the many filming locations from “A New Hope”.
Note on time: We entered the park from the East and moved our way west making our way to the Dunes for sunset. It seemed easier to exit west and get to the 5 freeway from that end. It was about 60-70 miles mostly uphill. Given the dark atmosphere and my Prius struggling to go uphill that long, it took us about 2 hours just to get out of the park. Be aware of your car’s capabilities, account for timing, and be safe when exiting should you visit the Dunes close to sunset.

The Sand Dunes were absolutely gorgeous. The sand was very silky. This place is great for kids , because lots of fun to do, like rolling, building sand castles, and collecting sand stones. The views were spectacular. It was great for pictures too. If you like to paint sceneries this is a great place to visit. Don’t worry if your kids roll in the sand or bury their feet in the sand because the sand is very soft and it rolls of very easily. The best thing we enjoyed was collecting sand stones.

I love this spot in Death Valley National Park. I don't so much love the hike up and down the dunes to get to a spot without footprints or people but I do it. The lines and textures are incredible in the changing light, especially at sunrise or sunset. Be careful if you go out to not lose your direction. It would be terrible to get lost out there on a hot day.

Really cool place to visit and hike in Death Valley. You're surrounded by mountains, rocks, and salt. Then there is these sand dunes. Really cool and great place for sunsets. Parking can get full quick.

The Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes are a beautiful set of dunes in the midst of one of the harshest places on Earth! Some of them can even reach 100 feet high! If you’re driving to Death Valley and heading to Furnace Creek or Badwater Basin, this is an absolute must-visit earlier on your drive. If you visit in winter, it’s really nice and pretty cool (might even need a jacket like we did) - in summer, it’s a completely different story. The sand is ridiculously hot, so you need to wear proper footwear so you don’t burn yourself. Wear lots of sunscreen in summer, being a lot of water, and have fun! Be sure to walk a decent ways off the road for the biggest dunes and best views. You may even see military fighter jets flying over you as a base is nearby! There is a decent amount of parking off the main road but it does get fairly busy so don’t be too surprised if you have to wait a few minutes for a space to open up, especially in the peak season for the park. I would highly recommend visiting this place though; it’s very cool!

Absolutely surreal!! We walked through the dunes during a sandstorm and the landscape is just otherworldly. Definitely pack long pants and sunglasses, the sand can be painful. Sand will also provide endless entertainment to children of any age. Had trouble dragging a pair of 21 y/os away.

Outstanding and easy to access (close to Furnace Creek & Stovepipe Wells) dunes. Unfortunately, that also makes it a very popular spot!
If you have kids, they’ll love romping and rolling down the dunes. Be sure to bring some boards or toboggans to slide down for extra fun.
Sunset/sunrise will literally paint the mountains red and full of color if you’re looking for a nice scenic view!
John Lieu — Google review
Just an amazing spot but really popular and crowded but here is a tip to avoid crowd...
We were camping at Stovepipe Wells Village and decided to walk directly (in straight line) to the Dunes! Stopped by the Rangers Office to ask if it was okay and no issue there.
So, it is fairly simple, it is a direct line from the Stovepipe wells General Store/campground. One could park there and the walk is about 1.5 miles (taking the road is 2.2 miles) and you actually arrive at the back end of the Dunes and can access the high ones easily. We were alone there while the main entrance was packed!
Kids had a blast rolling and jumping and surprinsgly, climbing those dunes were not that hard but a Ranger told me it was because of the rain they had received a few days ago. It hardened the sand, even better (and now I understand how R2D2 could "roll" on sand!)
Did not see any critters but a lot of traces of snakes, coyotes and other little creatures. All critters are noctural according to a Ranger.
We went there in mid-February, good shoes, sunscreen and plenty of water are a must. I can only imagine how crazy it can be in July/August when the temp is over 100...
Rhyolite is an abandoned town in Nevada that was once a prosperous mining community during the early 1900s. It can be found in the Bullfrog Hills, located approximately 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas and situated near the eastern boundary of Death Valley National Park. Although it had a population of around 8000 people during its heyday, only a few remnants remain today, including a three-story bank, jail and train station.

I'll never travel to Las Vegas without this trip planner again
Goldwell Open Air Museum is a unique and unconventional sculpture park located in the arid desert terrain near Rhyolite. Comprising of seven eccentric artworks created by Belgian artists since 1984, this outdoor museum offers visitors an unparalleled experience of art amidst nature. The museum also has a gift shop where you can buy quirky souvenirs to take back home. It's easily accessible from Las Vegas, just a two-hour drive through Beatty, NV.
This is a very good half day trip. 2 hr drive out of vegas right pass Beatty, NV. from the sculptures to the abandoned town walking distance up the road. As a bonus, we saw about 100 donkeys just roaming in the town of Beatty. So that was pretty cool to see.
Bryan Jefferson — Google review
We saw this on our map and decided to take a little side trip to see it. I had no idea the bottle house was here. I have heard of this place, and seen pictures of it, but seeing it in person was very cool. The art garden and the remains of Rhyolite were pretty cool as well. Definitely worth the side trip if you are not in a hurry.
Floyd Linaberry — Google review
Rhyolite is definitely a 'must see' on your way to Death Valley! Plan for an hour, maybe two. It's all free. The open air museum is beautiful and really creepy! 😳 Then the remains of Rhyolite is really interesting too.

It is a must stop if driving by. The desert art is strange and cool. No ghosts were seen as I was there. Just an abandoned town and dreams of making it rich gone bust..

This is a unique stop along the way to Death Valley. Strange sculptures in the middle of a deserted town and a little gift shop to learn about it.
The guy at the gift shop was super nice and there are some souvenirs that you can buy.

I give this place 5 stars for the experience and the old ghost town buildings. You can walk around freely here and explore the area. There were many free roaming donkeys in the area. Rhyolite is a must stop!!

Cool spot at the gateway to Death Valley. Worth a detour to check it out.
The Ghost Town Rhyolite is right next to it, also worth exploring.

Awesome desert art exhibit right next to Rhyolite on your wat to Beaty from Death Valley!
There is an information shack close to where you park about the area but I was more focused on exploring and taking pictures so I didn't stop in.
The art is very cool and much of it has info on it as to what it depicts be it quite worn in areas, and may be hard to read for some.
Definitely recommend!

While in Vegas, we did a full day trip to Death Valley. Along the
way out to the valley, we stopped at this ghost town. It wasnt too
far out of the way and its not everyday to see a original ghost
town!
Its cool to see the buildings still standing and in decent shape for
how old they are. I was surprised how many other cars where
driving thru besides us- guess its well known!
A few tips:
Expect horrible dusty and bumpy roads- always have a tire
replacement ready when in desert! Bring plenty water / snacks-
there isnt any gas stations in the area for ages so stock up on gas
as well. There are signs warning about rattle snakes so we didnt
climb or go in any buildings because thats where they hide! Enjoy
the scenery without risking your health!
My favorite spot was inside the tiny old wooden train- the colors
were mind blowing beautiful! So much history

If Art in the middle of the desert is on your things to see list come to Armagosa Valley right in front of Rhyolite ghost town and see the Goldwell open air museum. It began in 1984 with the last supper sculpture created by Albert Szukalski a Belgian artist. Filled by 6 more pieces by other European artists. There's the ghost rider, the lady desert : venus of Nevada, sit here, Icara, tribute to shorty Harris and more. Time of day definitely affects the pictures you get we shot for sunset ish and got some beautiful shots.

Fascinating collection of modern art next door to a "ghost town." Very eclectic but that is definitely part of its charm.

Today the little museum building was open: a first for us despite many, many visits. It's worth it as you learn a bit more about the initial artist and the foundation. Today we saw a new piece, a set of square arches ( oxymore?) I didn't find them interesting from a distance, but getting closer the perspective becomes very interesting.

Nice little free place to stop and see some art near Beatty/Death Valley.
The Furnace Creek Visitors Center at Death Valley National Park is a great place to learn about the park's fascinating history, landscape, people and animals. There are exhibits here for children to explore and they can also earn their Junior Ranger badge. There is no food available but there are souvenirs on sale.
I think it’s place #1 you should go! So much good information. There is movie about Death Valley history every 30 minutes. There is screen with all trails and you can see on video what to expect))) there is museum inside too. Just go inside get your verification of annual pass, get some free information, MAP 🗺 and enjoy)))

Great informative visitor center! They also have an auditorium where they show a movie on Death Valley formations every half an hour or so. Google shows that the center is temporarily closed but it’s open. You can get maps from here as well as purchase any souvenirs from the gift shop area. There is absolutely no network availability in the park, so make sure you download the maps offline or get the NPS app that works in offline mode as well. Restrooms are available and there is plenty of parking on premises.
Devang Mistry — Google review
Good clean Visitor Center. Restrooms were clean and well-stocked. Film (in a beautiful air-conditioned theatre!) does a great job exploring the history, native people, and conservation efforts of the park. Small snacks and water available for purchase.
Don't forget to ask the ranger for your Junior Ranger Book!
Don't buy gas here unless it's an EMERGENCY. Go to Stovepipe Wells instead for $1 less per gallon!!
Katie Browne — Google review
Easy to locate visitor center with a spread-out gift shop, questions counter, 3D interactive map, and educational area. National park stamp is in the exhibit area.
Outdoor parking has covered carports (great for sunny or wet times) and uncovered spots.
Restrooms are in a separate building with water fountains outside. The cooled water bottle fountain is down, unfortunately.
Note, if the outdoor fountains have barely any water pressure, head inside the Visitor Center. There are some water fountains indoors.
If you're heading inside, bring your park pass or America the Beautiful pass with you. You'll be able to get a park map, current seasonal guide (also available on website), and an orange paper parking pass.
On Saturday morning, the center is quite crowded with lots of visitors. The park pass purchasing machine outside is down.
We bought a postcard from the gift shop.

A little oasis of life in the otherwise aptly named Furnace Creek, this shop has everything you need for surviving your trip through Death Valley.

Some of the parking spots are shaded as well, which is nice.
They have a cool topographic map in the middle of the place for orienting yourself and planning your next journey. It really gives you a feel for the massiveness of this area.

Lots of great information. Rangers there are really helpful. Surprised at the price of fuel, but not really. Lots to see nearby in Death Valley National Park. Badwater, lowest point in the northern hemisphere, actually has a rare lake there from hurricane Hilary. A salt formation in the form of golf holes can be found south of Furnace Creek in Death Valley. The salt pan is quite an eerie sight and can be easily missed if youre not looking for it. With a few precautions, visitors can experience this amazing place.
You gotta stop here! It’s so cool to see this natural formation. The dirt road is well maintained and easy to get to.

Devils Golf Course is a short drive from the Furnace Creek Area down Badwater Road and onto a rocky access road that leads to the middle of the salt flat. You can access Devils Golf Course in a car, but an SUV or off-road vehicle is preferable. The road stops at a small parking lot with enough room for about a dozen vehicles. There are no trails that take you further into the Golf Course, though none are needed. The views from this point are amazing. The Panamint Mountains tower over you and provide a fantastic backdrop to the eerie "golf course." There are no restrooms or water at this location. Dogs are allowed on leash, but not they are not recommended.

We went in late March 2024 to visit the lake which had been created by all of the rains. The lake extended for 5+ miles from north of this area to south of Badwater Basin. It was eerie to view the salt formations and the water rippling in the light wind in this normally arid area.

Interesting place. If you were to play golf here you would surely lose your ball. Don't try it. It's not a golf course. It's really neat to see natural wonders in this world. Yes there's an explanation why the interesting features of this place occur. But to see it, and feel it with your hands is something unique. This is really neat. It's so flat, but so jagged, and it's rock hard! It appears that it would be like salt pillars, but they are rock hard! Careful if you walk around them, they are really sharp.

Very unique place, once you walk a quarter of a mile from Badwater Road. You can see Telescope Peak and it's only approximately a 10 mile valley to cross to get to the mountain. It's salt for sure, not Borax like in the rest of Death Valley

Not as pretty as Badwater Basin, but still really enjoyed it. The soil is hard (with lots of crystals) and very uneven. Be careful when walking in the area as a slight fall could lead to injury. But definitely worth visiting!

Definitely worth a stop. The Devils Golf Course is easy to drive to and even though it is a bit of a bumpy ride, the road is well maintained. The formation is crazy and the history behind this place is great to read. It is the lowest place in the US. My visit to Artist's Palette in Death Valley left me in absolute awe. This place is a geological masterpiece, and here's my take on it:
Vibrant Colors: The mineral deposits in the hills create a surreal, almost surreal landscape of colors. It's like nature got creative with a paintbrush.
Best Time to Visit: Late afternoon offers the best lighting to capture those mesmerizing hues with your camera. I would recommend visit immediate after it rains. Rain enhances the color of minerals drastically.
Pro Tips: Drive the one-way Artist's Drive for the best views. Parking can be tight, so plan to visit during quieter hours if possible.
Short Hike: There's a short, easy trail from the parking area that takes you right into the heart of the colorful hills. It's suitable for all skill levels.
Other Nearby Sights: While you're in the area, don't miss the nearby Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes and Golden Canyon for more fantastic hikes and photo ops.
Those vibrant colors tell an ancient story. Artist's Palette is a unique and enchanting stop in Death Valley National Park. 🎨📸🏜️

This is a great stop in Death Valley. Artists Palette definitely deserves its namesake. The oxidation of the minerals causes vibrant colors to form in the rocks. The scenery is beautiful, and there is a lot of fun exploring. Some of the formations are fragile and can slide, so try to stay on established paths. There is a one-way road to get here, but it is worth the extra time and winding road.

Artist’s Pallet is one of the most unique features about Death Valley. By this point in your trip through the park, you will have seen colors you did not know could exist in a desert, and Artist’s Pallet is perhaps the pinnacle of that experience. Shades of green, purple, pink splattered throughout white and brown formations are truly magical.
To get there, you go through a one-way road that leads you to the Pallet. You will turn off and follow the signage. When you arrive, there is ample parking (limited-ish spots, but people park where they reasonably can), and there is a viewing platform right at the parking lot. For those more adventurous, you can journey down into the Pallet and walk around. Once you descend, there are flat grounds and hills you can explore. When you are ready to leave, you exit following the signage through the same one-way road. Drive slow as the road is narrow, and there is also a lot to see along the way.
Pro Tip: If you come when the sun is shining too strongly (i.e. late morning through early afternoon), the sun can mute out the colors, so the Pallet may not look as vibrant or colorful as you would expect. Coming during dawn or dusk if possible really allows these colors to stand out.
Pro Tip on the Pro Tip: The funny thing about Death Valley is that most of the main attractions are best viewed during dawn and sunrise or dusk and sunset. And with the sheer distance between them all, you really need to prioritize where you are going to spend that time. I only got to spend one day in Death Valley, and Artist’s Pallet’s relatively central location meant that it was more of an early afternoon stop (on the way to Mesquite Sand Dunes for the sunset). One thing I noticed is that wearing polarized sunglasses corrected the muting effect on the sun, so I was able to see the different colors more vividly than when I took my sunglasses off.
Enjoy!

Amazing! I enjoyed sunset here. I underestimated how much is here too see. You could probably spend an entire sunset or sunrise hiking around this area. Numerous trails through the colorful badlands and you will want to pull over constantly as you make your way. I'd suggest a minimum of an hour to at least hike some of the main attraction area and enjoy the road but you will probably take a lot longer if you choose to explore every bit of every hike and every stop. It's an enjoyable wandering social trail layout in the colorful rocks area.

The Badwater Basin, a saline depression in Death Valley National Park, is situated 282 feet below the sea level. Although it requires some driving with no cell phone coverage for most of the way after entering the park, visitors can witness its vastness and walk on a dry salt surface by trekking about half a mile from the parking lot. Despite dogs being prohibited by signs, some individuals still ignore this rule.
Badwater Basin- the lowest point in the US- is one of the busiest spots, most popular places in Death Valley National Park. I wanted to get to the mountains across the salt flat but didn’t know how far it went.

Loved it…!!!! What a stark, boldly beautiful landscape. Drove out from Las Vegas to experience the sunset in this surreal environment. Was blown away by the dynamic dichotomies of sheer mountainsides and salt flats, static browns and shimmering whites, presence of life and potential for death. The colors of the sky did not disappoint, nor did the vastness of the park. I'll return again and completely skip the vugarity of Vegas in exchange for the purity of this park.

It's going to be a bit of a drive to get here. There will also be no cell phone reception for most of the way once you enter the park (Death Valley National Park). There were much more people than I had anticipated.. The signs say that dogs are not allowed, comma but that didn't stop a lot of people from being dirtbags. The bad water basin walk was about a 1/2 mile there and back from the parking area. You will walk on dried salt. Once you get out there you can see the vastness of the desert. The only services there were some toilets.

Very unique place to visit in Death Valley national park. It doesn’t look like much from the road or the parking lot but after a mileish hike out down the salt road the shapes really start to become visible. Very easy walk so make it out if you can. Go near sunset if you can for better contrast along the floor. Knocked one star off for dealing with the crowds and difficulty finding parking spots.

We went there this weekend. There's still plenty of water to see this once in a lifetime event. The water is green and you can see salt crystals and algae.
It's not hot at all. Pretty windy actually so bring windbreakers if you want to walk to the edge of the lake.

It's definitely a unique place that attracts thousands of tourists everyday. There are plenty of parking spaces, boardwalks lead to saltwater, people were trying to get as close to the water as possible for better reflection pictures, some even walked into the saltwater. Saltwater is still and reflective like mirror, makes beautiful mirror images of surrounding mountains. We saw many dead grasshoppers and a dead duck, they couldn't survive the deadly saltwater.

Badwater Basin is the lowest point in North America at 282 ft (86 m) below sea level. The salt flats here cover nearly 200 square miles (518 square km), and are composed mostly of sodium chloride (table salt), along with calcite, gypsum, and borax. We visited this place back in December of 2018 (thank god), so the weather was mild, unlike the scorching summer months.
Here are some pictures I took during the visit.

Definitely worth a stop! Great nature and easy access. It was quite warm. Alwaysbring enough water and maybe a hat. Good footwear is essential.

Wow! An interesting place, but you’d better like it hot, especially if you’re visiting in the summer months as I did. It was 119° and the wind blowing off the sand felt like I imagine a blast furnace would feel like. After driving from Las Vegas through Death Valley, I was glad to take a quick break and even row 2,000 meters on my rowing machine. One for the record books.

Truly amazing spot. A thousand years has created this surreal salt basin. Lowest spot in our nation Not for the faint hearted to walk out in the blistering sun.
Sam Bawahab — Google review
Incredible to see this much water here... it is normally tall, crunchy salt peaks (although the ground has always been damp if you sit down on it). Previously, this corner of the park was relatively uncrowded, but with constant news coverage & and articles, it was pretty packed this trip. This is an amazing spot for night photography. Even in January, it can be warm one day and intensely foggy & chilly the next. Travel with preparedness! Little to no cell svc all throughout the park, if it's raining then flash floods are a serious possibility, there are no shoulders on the roads which are flush with the desert floor and have washed out during heavy rains. Badwater Basin is still 55 miles even after you've entered the park (just north of Shoshone). No services except at Furnace Creek & an outpost near the campgrounds. Weather is all over the place. It can be snowing in the mountain ranges & hot on the ground then freezing at night. Winds are VERY strong in the basin. There's no place else quite like it. Enjoy it and take it all in...it's so worth it!

This was probably one of the highlights of our Death Valley tour, being at 200+ feet below sea level. You get to really see why they call the Death Valley, Death Valley. Enormous salt plains with an endless view of the valley meeting the horizon, especially during sun set, is simply gorgeous.
Don't come in the day; make sure you check for sunset timing and reach the carpark before that. After that, try to also stay for the night skies, as the stars will be out and stargazing takes over (assuming fair weather conditions). The thing with nature is, once you miss it, you miss it; but it's also unpredictable.
We came here with iTravel USA LLC, and Mama Lankun was an amazing tour guide for what we needed for the day.

The lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, this is surely an interesting place. When we were there, there was a rare event--there was water! Yes, with the recent rain from the tropical storm Hilary, there was water! Surely in the coming days this will evaporate and be back to its normal dry lake bed type salt condition. Best to visit here in the winter as this place has some of the hottest temperatures on record! The white line at the top in the picture with the vehicles is sea level.
Rob De Smith — Google review
One of the most famous spots in Death Valley. Nice for a short walk but not my favorite in that area. Make sure to bring enough water and sun protection. Included in the annual pass.

Very neat place to visit. It was great to see it with water and the weather was impeccable. It’s amazing to experience this place and even how it messes with your head that you are so far below sea level. Will have to visit again!

Want Instagram pics you can show off to your friends? This is the place. Bring water proof colorful boots to get the best shot. You need to walk on few inches deep mud to get to the less crowded area and to get to water area to the perfect mirror reflection shots. You the photographer need to shoot from a very low angle to capture the mirror reflection of the landscape or your subjects. Don’t shoot from eye level and don’t shoot into the sun or your subjects will be too dark and can’t see their face.
The Amargosa Opera House is a small, artsy hotel in the Funeral Mountains Wilderness Area, which features murals and trompe loeil ceilings painted by opera singer Marta Becket. It also hosts weekly shows from the Vegas City Opera.
Honestly I had a really great stay here. It definitely a little on the older side, but it's clean and the blankets are very warm. I liked all the little decorations and historical tid bits, and it was very quite and relaxing after a long day. It doesn't have a TV or anything, but I actually really loved the little lending library they had.

No ghosts here which was disappointing. Most of the hotel is abandoned but gives a good vibe. Plenty of parking and old cool stuff to watch if you want to walk around the place. The kitchen and communal spaces are big and clean. Receptionist was super helpful and even borrowed us her charger! We slept pretty good, bed and sheets seem fairly new but there was some dog hair on our sheets. The walls are really thin so we could listen everyone in the hall and rooms. Overall a good experience but pretty abandoned.

Super friendly host, we were finding our way to death valley, not knowing it was closed. Host shared the WiFi for me to navigate out and allow me to use the restroom. Had a great chat too to understand the history of the Opera House.

5 stars for the tour. Rooms would probably rank as a low 3 high 2 from average folk, but it is a historic building without TV. They have a great library you can borrow from as you stay. Read a little of the Secrets of US Presidents.

I did not stay there, just did the tour. The story of Marta and her amazing art is cool. Quirky and charming place. I would definitely stay there. Just keep in mind, it's a very old building in the middle of the desert. Worth the stop. Call ahead,

We didn't choose the hotel for its accommodation qualities nor amenities as it lacks both. With this in mind, we got what we expected, an experience in a strange fascinating piece of history in Death Valley! It is falling apart, the old paint of the building is cracked and peels everywhere, and the major hallway stinks mildew! In contrast the bedrooms are clean and mattresses comfortable. Bathrooms are in good shape even though the hot water takes a little adjustment it does work. There is a free coffee station which is the one nice perk and the receptionist was very nice. We took the tour of the opera house, its historic is fascinating, check it out four yourself when visiting Death Valley!
Emmanuelle Caumont (Emma) — Google review
The building is old and needs some work, if you don't like that don't stay here. We enjoyed it however as it is still luxurious compared to camping, and compared to many motel 6 type places. Funky and original and unique. A tour of the opera house is a must. Kitchen details since the cafe is closed: they have a toaster, fridge, microwave and coffee on the mornings. There are no bowls or plates so bring some if you plan to make food there.

An unusual place, historic, and significant to the area. Rooms were plain, furniture dated, and a bit run down, but the sheets were clean, and the bathrooms were spotless. No amenities in room such as tv or coffee, or fridge. There are large communal fridges.
The staff was accommodating, and exceptionally friendly.
I would like to see security latches inside doors, and there weren't any.
Meagan Woodard — Google review
it's certainly rustic but seemed clean, a good place to stop to get a good start on the sights in death valley. There wasn't any hot water when we were there though and I'd take fly spray as the person before us must've left the door to outside open which resulted in many flies in the room. All in all nice quaint place with a creepy aura which is cool

This is a 5 star experience at a 2 star hotel. The 100 year old hotel needs lots of TLC, but it is a marvelous historic site run by a nonprofit trust so the money goes to a good cause. We really enjoyed the tour of the Opera House.

Rustic hotel with lots of character. Beautiful old features throughout. Staff was friendly. Tiny town near Death Valley. If you’re looking for something spotless and new not the place for you. I love older homes and their imperfections so I didn’t mind it! Would stay again.
belle jennings — Google review
Awful. The internet is incredibly slow. The room flooded from below and the roof leaked. The exposed copper pipes will burn you. It smells bad. The parking lot was total mud. The opera house part costs an extra 10 dollars, but closed anyway. No in room services (coffee, TV, etc). Only one microwave/fridge for the whole hotel. Nowhere to put toiletries in the tiny bathroom. Very run-down overall.

For anyone visiting Death Valley, this is a must see stop or at least, in my opinion anyway. Even though Marta Becket is no longer here to entertain us with her grace and beauty, her incredible talent can still be enjoyed and appreciated by taking a tour of the opera house, see the beautiful murals or even better, attending one the many shows that are still performed within it. Of course, a stay in one of the many historic rooms is always a pleasure as well.

This place is all about location. It is on the edge of the desert, and there are very few things funkier than the desert. If you are traveling into the area for the first time, you may be put off by the ancient condition of this "original condition" gem. But if you have traveled in this area for long at all you may come to appreciate it as much as I do. it is quirky, it is operating on a shoestring because in this area, resources are limited. But there is a dedicated staff here doing there best to make your stay as clean as comfortable as they can, and it was plenty of both for me.
Michael Binroth — Google review
The Amargosa Opera House has an incredible back story. Truly, an astonishing piece of history that is well worth a 15-minute stop in on your way to Death Valley, even if you don't stay the night. Upon arrival to the junction, you will feel like you are stepping into a time capsule. My friend & I spent a night at the hotel after a long day in the park. The bed was actually quite comfortable, and I did enjoy the mint green tiling of our bathroom... It is however a shame that the hotel, the theater, and pretty much what remains of the entire town is in disrepair (as of Nov 2022.) We came to understand that practically the entire town on the west side is under the guardianship of a non-profit... we are a bit confused as to how they are distributing funds when it is obvious that the exterior of the hotel and much of the interior is falling apart piece by piece. Peeling paint in the exterior (not to mention adobe that is crumbling) and interior (ceiling in the common room...), as well as a sagging floor (with carpets? why?), piping which is exposed, box A/C units hanging precariously, and dated furniture in the room, as well as grounds which have obviously become a junkyard of debris littering the property (seen from the back of our room once we drew the curtain to let light in.) There is no operational cafe or restaurant, much less mini-mart or convenience store or even a vending machine. You have access to coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the morning and that is it. The entire place feels like one sad tombstone for Martha Beckett and those brave, perhaps eccentric, dreamers who came before her. It is tragic that such a space with unique architecture and history gets turned to dust... and lost to time.... when it could well become an artist's residence, a visual arts center, a museum dedicated to the history of settlement in the area, a retreat space for yoga or wellness, etc. So many possibilities with the right minds & the right marketing could come together. I wish the best for this incredible place... and hope that a 2.0 version of Martha comes around the bend.

A really cool historic location. It was somewhat run down, but had so much character. Definitely take the tour if you stay. It took us about half an hour to get to Death Valley from the Opera House. Don't expect anything fancy, but come for the off the beaten trail vibes and convenient location. It was very comfortable and felt quite safe, though!

OK so I may have posted about this place but it’s a pretty amazing old place. If you’re anywhere near Death Valley National Park, you have to come here.
The hotel rooms are straightforward and basic and a little bit dated but that is the allure of this place. To be drawn back in time for a moment, and experience things, and a little simpler format.
The story and the artwork is something to be admired, and understood. I’ll include a few photos, but you have to come to this place and see it and admire all the work of one amazing woman.

DO NOT MISS THIS MAGICAL PLACE! Especially take the tour!! Currently it’s only $15, $10 if you’re a guest at the hotel. Found on a whim while venturing to Death Valley NP. This place feels like stepping back in time. 16th century Europe vibes, and incredible place of art by Marta Becket.
The building is just turning 100 years old, so of course it’s not going to be your latest/greatest with full amenities, but the experience I had here (ended up staying 2 nights, taking tour twice) was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had. Made some new friends and already planning my return visit.

My mother's family helped get this place up and running back in the 60's with Martha. I have some old family videos of this place being worked on by my grandpa and his family. My mother used to play up in the attic of the hotel.
This place isn't luxury, as mentioned in other reviews, but this place is a piece of history and artwork, hard work and endurance from those who built it, and then rebuilt it to become what it is today. The exterior is deceiving when you go into the opera house. It's like walking into a different building. You wouldn't expect to see that theater in that type of building. I got to meet Martha once years ago. We used to stop by the Amargosa whenever we would travel to Death Valley. It's definitely worth the visit and the tour.

People are ready and available upfront till 8am, no tvs in the rooms but this mostly is for sound and light pollution reasons. Cute place, my partner is into ghost and seemingly this place is haunted? Fun stay regardless 😊
Internet connection is provided and has nice skylights in the showers andain hotel. If you are trying to get to Death Valley, especially during this time of year when it's cooler, I would recommend the Opera House. Much much cheaper than the hotels in the valley and only about a half hour drive there.

I’m a huge fan of unique stays, historical hotels and architecture but this is beyond a major disappointment! Number 1- the smell is absolutely unbearable! It smells like sulfur or raw sewage or both! It’s so bad that I had to put my hand over my nose and mouth! It’s gag worthy! It actually seems unsuitable to be renting this place out. The room didn’t smell until I opened the closet and it smelled like diarrhea so I chose not to use the extra blanket or pillows. 2-the bed is rock hard. 3- you can hear everything from the neighbors room and actually see light leaking between the cracks of the door between the rooms. I had to turn on the fan to drown out the noise. 4-the staff (and I’m kind of thinking this poor girl hates her job so I don’t really blame her and she’s only worked there a few months) every answer was “the hotel is 100 years old”. But my house is over 100 years old and it doesn’t smell like this! ALSO the place is in the desert where water is scarce and you are told to let the shower run for 15 minutes to let it warm up! Get the pipes fixed! This is ridiculous! Unfortunately you can’t cancel your booking after 48 hours or I would have. If you’re looking for a cheap place go a little further down the road to the Longstreet Casino, not much farther but it’s clean and it doesn’t stink, it has lots of character and history and they have a restaurant and a resident casino cat named Jackpot!
I really wanted to like this place and I was excited to stay here but I’m soooooooo bummed now. And I’m stuck here one more night! Maybe things were better before the flooding but they need to get this place fixed or close it as it is a health hazard. Just say no!

Famous historic opera House and hotel unfortunately has been in physical decline over many years. Chipping paint and old plumbing but the rooms were sturdy. Warm enough staff very friendly. Even a little bit of coffee in the morning...
Definitely worth the stay but do not expect a five-star brand new

Great place to stay. Now if you are expecting much out of a 100 year old building. Don't come. If you enjoy the possibly haunted and quirky building. You will love it! Little smelly but it does what it needs to do. Would come back!
Chris Belben — Google review
We had a very poor experience staying at the hotel (March 2024) and I recommend you stay elsewhere. This is very disappointing, as we are huge fans of unusual and historic hotels. We expected a bit of "character" to this old and remote place -- but, considering the price they charge for rooms, the disrepair, neglect, and poor service are unacceptable for ~$150.
Just stop, take some pictures, and keep moving. Really seems to have fallen off a cliff since the passing of the founder in 2017, or maybe the area flooding last year.
If you do stay, expect an absolutely rancid hallway (carpet that has obviously, by the mold-smell, been flooded or leaked on or something ongoing), no TV, unusable WiFi, and a Russian Novel of "don't do this, don't do that's." They have a fireplace, but won't let you use it at night... you know, when it's cold. The cafe is closed. The lamps are broken. You can hear quiet conversations from the hallway and connecting rooms since nothing closes right. They won't even give you a tour or tell you about the history of the building without another upsell.
This is a real shame. I hope the org that runs the place can improve, as it deserves to be preserved. But for travelers on a budget looking for a warm comfortable splurge after camping... you'll get much better facilities and services up the road.
Not at all ADA compliant, and I would be worried about bringing children here.

I went for the tour and it blew my mind! Such a talented eccentric who turned this place into a work of art inside! You would never know driving by as it looks deserted. The photos here are just the lobby which is nothing compared to inside the opera house. Well worth the stop!

This is the type of place where you want to stay during a road trip. Yes, there is peeling paint but its also 100 years old. Make sure you watch the documentary "Amargosa" before, during or after you stay. The place will stay in your heart ever after. It's worth noting that any money they get will be used to preserving such a historical landmark. The US should preserve these type of histories. I'll be coming back again.
Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is a vast expanse of wetlands and desert, spanning over 24,000 acres. It provides ample opportunities to observe various kinds of wildlife, including birds, foxes, coyotes and reptiles. The refuge offers boardwalks for easy hiking and interpretive exhibits that provide valuable information about the area. It is highly recommended to visit when the visitors center is open to gain knowledge about this beautiful place.

Great experience! Visitor center is very hands on, great for all ages to learn about the refuge history and environment. Super nice volunteer that can answer lots of questions too. Great walks to see the clear pools of water and the famous little Pup Fish. You will see many birds, lizards and Big Horn Sheep if you time it right. Great shade parking for most vehicles and plenty of RV parking.

First: don’t trust google maps. Don’t take “fastest route” from Vegas to NWR. It’s a doable road by car but not a fun road by car. Take the hwy from amargosa or pahrump instead.
Now onto fun stuff:
Ash Mdws is a treasure. We arrived after three days of heavy rain and it was beautiful and overcast.
The staff are wonderful and full of great knowledge. This is dog friendly so long as they’re on a leash, you clean their poop and you stay on trail.
Bathrms were in great shape and clean. Visitors Ctr is awesome, beautifully designed and full of cool info. The boardwalk and water jet metal designs throughout the park are testament to the love people have for this place. I am so glad we had an opportunity to stop through. Never hesitate to go here: fall through spring, you won’t regret it.

Very unique place, love the silence. It’s nice to spent some time away from the busy life. This place has a nice crystal fountain. All of the water at Ash Meadows is fossil water, believed to have entered the ground water system tens of thousands of years ago. Great place to walk. Boardwalk is a loop going through the fountain.

A beautiful day hiking at Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. The location has plentiful signage to make finding things easy. The park is very clean. Clean and stocked restrooms. The staff was super friendly and helpful. There’s covered parking and a covered picnic area at the Visitor’s Center. Take time to watch the 19 minute movie at the Visitor’s Center about this location and you’ll be ready to see all the treasures of this landmark. The areas are mostly handicapped accessible too. Best to come when the park first opens in the morning. Tourist gifts, books on culture and history and t-shirts available. Be sure to bring sunscreen, plenty of water, a hat, a charged cell phone, snacks, and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking. It is possible to walk up to 5 miles depending on what you’d like to see. It is all up to you. Would definitely recommend this special place.

This is a very surprising gem hidden in a remote desert wasteland.
The paths are well maintained and easy to traverse with a lot of them being wheelchair accessible.
The visitor center staff are very knowledgeable and eager to answer questions and give good ideas of where to go and what to check out given whatever time-frame you have to work with.
Over all I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are heading to or from Death Valley, the natural springs are beautiful!

Travelled through in the winter so there wasn't much wildlife. But the landscaping was beautiful. Nice learning experience. The Devil's Hole was interesting. About 500 little fish that only live there are being protected, so they have it caged up. From the signs, these fish have existed at this location for the past 40,000 years or so, and leave it to humans to almost obliterate them. The network of tunnels under the area contain water that serves the surrounding communities. Fascinating info.

The refuge doesn’t have paved roads. The ride could be very bumpy. I would suggest to go in from the west rather from the south, which is more bumpy. I doubt you are able to see any animals except birds and small cute fish. There are several springs and water reservoirs that you can go. I would suggest to go to visitor center first to get advice where to go. Don’t waste your time to go to Devils holes. There is really nothing worthy.

There are many individual water features in this wetlands oasis. It is located about two hours from Las Vegas. It makes for a great single day trip. The much of the wildlife and plant life are unique to the area. But there is an abundance of animal life common to the greater Mojave Desert that frequently is seen. There is hunting in some areas for both waterfowl and upland game. Dogs should be kept on leashes when outside vehicles for their protection as well as the protection of native wildlife.

The Pahrump Nugget is an informal hotel and casino located in Pahrump, Nevada. The establishment boasts a variety of on-site restaurants, including a steakhouse and 24-hour eatery, as well as a bowling alley for entertainment. Visitors can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi during their stay. While the selection of table games may be limited, friendly dealers and excellent bartenders make up for it. Additionally, the hotel rooms are basic but suitable for a comfortable stay.
Walked in on a busy night with no reservation. They were quick to accommodate us. The service was great, the food tasted awesome. Next time we are in town we will definitely stop back. By the way, had a small issue with a steak, was resolved immediately and made us a customer for life. Can't wait to go back.

This is a smaller casino with good service. The dinning area has friendly waiters and staff. There is an electronic bingo area and a bowling alley here. Occasionally (and depending on what days) the bowling alley is too full to get to play. This casino is about 20 years old. Other than that it is a great place to stop if you are on your way to Death Valley. Also, you never have to wait to use the restrooms since there are plenty of stalls.

Only have a limited selection of table games is my only complaint. Hotel room is basic but it gets the job done. Unfortunately there isn’t a pool. Besides that all was good. Well … I probably would never choose to stay here, however I was in town for a family thing and this hotel was already chosen for me…
Hotel : basic basic necessities… was clean so that was nice and bed was OK… walls paper thin u could hear everything!!!
Casino: I actually did pretty good on the machines so don’t have anything bad to say about the gambling and my friend did good at 10.00 blackjack.
There is a whole cast of characters in this casino def some good people watching😎
Food: I had some so so soup and salad that was terrible but it was only 10.00!!! So guess I can’t complain too much!

Parking amazing 😻 lots of parking and east access and seems like I can park overnight in your RV too

I can't brag enough about the cleanliness of our room. It even smells good. Non smoking room.. The biggest surprise to me. The towels, most hotel towels smell like cigarette smoke to me or cheap soap. The towels in our room smell clean and fresh. Theres a small refrigerator, ironing board and iron and a coffee pot , and hair dryer.
Casino is clean and comfortable. We had dinner in the Cafe. Its was really tasty. This is a nice place to stay after a day out playing in the desert.

It was old and worn down. Bad lighting. The AC was super loud. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were so puffy and hard they hurt my neck. The shower was weak. Really bad lighting in the bathroom and mold in the corners.
I had a non smoking room and it smelled ok. Not fresh. Kinda musky and old. But didn't stink of smoke like the casino does.
Then when I went to check out I came back from getting coffee at 10:30 and asked to get a late check out, the lady at the counter was unfriendly and said no at first, then said maybe 10 minutes extra. So I had to rush to get ready. At least I wanted to get the heck out of there anyway.
I don't gamble or care about casinos. I just needed a hotel for a couple nights, and it was cheaper than the middle class name brand hotels in town. Typically casinos have good deals on nice rooms. But this one does not. They really need to spend some of that casino money on a remodel.

Rooms are dirty, wouldn't accommodate a no smoking room, no ice machines on any floors, rude customer service. Dirty rooms, not even a fitted sheet on the bed. When my brother asked where he could get ice he was told by the "manager" it wasn't "the end of the world" and he can "pay for ice". Better service at a motel 8. The "view" is of trash in a parking lot.

The restaurants inside were wonderful, and the non-smoking rooms didn't smell like smoke or anything nasty. The lobby and entrance do stink, but IMO It's worth the price. Security is great, and the parking lot is safe. The staff in the casino isn't very friendly towards women FYI but overall I'd stay here again.

This place is a joke. 7 years in Pahrump been coming up here for years. This place is a joke. I am Chris Addison. They changed the new felt layout on the craps table 2-3 months ago. I swear to god every other roll is off the table or a 7. It's beyond bumpy or rubbery. No players on the table games weekend nights. That should be the first clue. I don't owe anybody this but I wanted to let the public know, this place is a scam for real.

Great, cheap lodgings for animal-lovers. Only trouble we had was the toilet clogging up the first night we were there. But the management was wonderful. Nothing fancy, but it was clean, and we had everything we needed.

We were in town for the weekend from Vegas. We really liked this casino and this is where we spent the most time and money. The staff was courteous and helpful. This place needs to be investigated by the gaming authorities. There craps table is legit rigged and the dice literally bounce off the table almost every other roll. It's other shooters as well. I want my 10 grand back. This was the experience I've had every time here and I must have tried 50 to 100 times to roll the dice here. Please help.

Absolutely love this casino! The staff was awesome, all dealers... Mike and Lynda were the reason I stayed so long at the tables. The food from the steakhouse was incredibly good. The slots are so fun, we played about 20 different slots and won healthy on most of them, the smoke isn't that bad unless you're sitting directly next too a smoker. I love this casino, by far the best one I've been to in 10yrs or more. Super clean and table games are great.

By far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Spent two nights and the only reason I didn't leave is because the room is nonrefundable. The furniture is beat up and looks like it came from a facebook marketplace free add. At least the aesthetic matches the rest of the filthy room which was covered in dust, debri, and hair. The door to the room from the hallways didn't even close and lock allowing anyone to push the door open from the hallways without a key. I was told to just "slam it and lift it up". No overhead lights in the room, only 3 lamps, one of which didn't work. Stains (blood?) on the chairs made them nonsittable. Even though I booked a room for two there were only three pillows on the bed. The bed was however, covered in an abudance of hard, stiff blankets. The showers are incorrectly labeled for cold and hot water. No outlets near the bed for easy access phone's at night. No microwave in the room at all. No large body mirror. No liner in the ice box. But I had a nice little roach visit me at night. Surprised I didn't find any bedbugs when I checked, and I felt the need to check.

We arrived at the casino/hotel with a reservation in advance and received wonderful service. The clerk was efficient and gave us great directions on how to get to the room. We needed an accessible room and received a room near the hotel entrance, which was perfect. It made our walk to/from the parking lot or casino/restaurants a breeze! The casino was fun with lots of games. We only tried the cafe restaurant but loved it so much for dinner that we ended up going back for breakfast in the morning. It was such a wonderful, quiet place to stay on the way out of Vegas and heading towards Death Valley. We can't wait to come back to the Nugget! (Also, make sure you sign up for the players card at the casino for some great deals!)

I liked the casino(cocktail waitress was were great- one pregnant and all), bingo hall, and bowling alley. Some live entertainment would have been nice(cover band, or some jazz). The restaurant is good, and the rooms were just okay, decent enough with mini fridges, and keirigs.

We reserved a king non smoking room over a month before our stay, but when we arrived they couldn't deliver. They were very rude about it stating that all of the rooms were booked and kept saying that the room we got instead was more expensive- untrue, but more importantly, we didn't want a different room, we wanted the room we reserved and paid for well in advance. After gaslighting me about it for 5 minutes and offering no apologies or nothing to compensate, I decided it wasn't worth my time. Other than that, the hotel it's pretty run down. It smells awful and there's no insulation so prepare to be kept up all night or woken up early by neighboring rooms every day. We'd never stay here again.

Hotel: Pretty run down, poor lighting in parking lot next to hotel entrance. People in parking lot acting like they want to kill each other (imho crank heads), ok if you need a cheap place to stay for the night, but sketchy as hell. No security present in parking lot.
Casino: Great if you need get your gambling fix and get on your way as quickly as possible. They will accommodate you with the tightest machines I ever remember playing.
I can NOT recommend.

Very dissapointing, my friends enjoyed stopping by after dinner, good laughs & visiting, play triple double, now for the last five to six months, very sad, they do not give you any play just to keep you playing, for locals. I used to look forward to meeting the girls, like I said, relax & enjoy, no more. I look forward to my birthday in February 😏

Very good. Security is great, and the parking lot is safe. The staff in the casino isn't very friendly towards women FYI but overall I'd stay here again.
Charleston Peak Winery offers an upscale dining experience with a focus on Continental cuisine and wine pairings in a picturesque vineyard setting. The Symphony restaurant, located within the winery, provides an intimate atmosphere with around 15 tables, making reservations highly recommended. Guests praise the delicious menu and perfectly prepared food, as well as the exceptional service provided by staff members like Rose, Jennifer, and Laressa. Visitors also appreciate the welcoming hospitality of the entire team at Charleston Peak Winery.
The Symphony restaurant is located inside the Pahrump Valley Winery. It has a small dining room with around 15 tables (reservation recommended). The menu was solid, and the food was prepared perfectly. The person who enhanced our experience was our waiter, Rose. Rose has a million dollar smile along with a sparkling personality. She was simply the best!

Went for hubby's birthday lunch and was great. Lovely place to dine. Our entrees we're beef stroganoff, fish and chips, and Cobb salad. Dessert was creme brulee, one of the better ones we've had and we order it whenever we see it on a menu.

Pahrump Valley Winery is a fantastic surprise found while were staying at Wine Ridge RV Resort, which is happily located next door to said winery. We had to ventured over to experience the winery as we were so close.
What a great choice it turned out to be. We stepped up to their wine bar and begun tasting some very delicious wines. All of the wines on their menu are created on this property, at least two of the wines, the Nevada Merlot and the Zinfandel, are crafted using grapes that our grown on this property. All of the wines that we tasted were unique, tasty, choices, but the two grown on the property were my personal favorites. The Zinfandel is quite unique, it finishes sweet - very unlike most Zinfandels that I have experienced.
After tasting the wines we went into their restaurant for dinner. Again, a lovely surprise. We were greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable host, who went on to handle our service throughout our dining experience.
Not only was she knowledgeable about the food served in the restaurant but she was filled with fun information about the Pahrump area. She truly made our dining experience memorable.
We were started off with bread and the wine we selected during our tasting, then we ordered appetizers and the main meal, but were simply to full for dessert. I attached photos of our meal. It was all lovely, well made food. Our compliments to the chef.
I highly recommend this winery/restaurant. Everything was excellent.

Amazing dining and wine tasting/tour experience. The staff was very welcoming and the food was delicious! The wine tour, although short is quite informative and the tasting is a must when visiting! Totally recommended this place. It's a nice 45 minute getaway from the bustle and noise of the Vegas strip!

We had been to the annual wine stomp a few times before COVID hit and it was always packed and fun! Different heats for stomping, they started at 12 and went well into the afternoon. Wine was sold inside and outside the winery, (they even had their own red blend that sold out quick) wine tours, gift shop, both tasting bars inside and a few outside were open and poppin!! Even the restaurant was packed, glad to pay the 25 per person!! And now...
Restaurant closed, wines weren't being sold and if they were, the staff didn't forward that information, instead they tried to get people to play lawn games and I wasn't there for that.
I went to watch competitive grape stomping while enjoying lunch in the restaurant after tasting their flights of wine at the bar. Roam the gift shop for my mom's BDay gifts and get stuff for me too.
Not this time, instead, my husband paid 50$ to walk onto this property and roam around for an hour. What a waste of money.
I did buy 2 oils, 1 vinegar 1 flight and 2 glasses of wine.
I hope this new owner gets a clue or hires a partner that has a better sense of a good time cuz a 25$ ticket for 1 "taste"
IS NOT A GOOD TIME

The Winery is the best all around restaurant with an atmosphere in Pahrump. Anyone who is visiting I tell them to come. The service staff have been there for a while in the restaurant and are all friendly. There are new owners which are expanding the place which will be good I think. The previous owner upgraded the main area a while ago which is nice. The meatloaf is unique for a higher end restaurant, and would recommend. Everything is good and if have time, get some wine from NEVADA biggest winery.

Exquisite food! The crab cakes are like 98% crab!!! Like I love!!! The Tuscany soup was tasty and homey and the sandwiches were scrumptiously delightful.
It's not Tahoe, but once you get over that ,you'll have a wonderful time. Lee Canyon is SO convenient and close to "the strip". The drive is easy and beautiful. I really like this small resort feel over any large overcrowded resort .
They recently renovated the entire resort and so your ticket goes a long way here!!
The new build out is modern , clean, and beautiful. I was so impressed seeing the before and after . The restaurant, bar and restrooms look great!!
The snow here is not always powdery but I believe they make their own snow. On a sunny bluebird day it's so amazing to be out on the mountain here.
You can finish your long day like we did, with a treat at In and Out a short drive away after you get down from the mountain :)

Las Vegas locals and visitors alike should take the time to escape Lee Canyon. Here, it's always significantly cooler than the valley
In the summer, you can hike, mountain bike, and more. And, in the winter, you're able to ski and snowboard here. In the fall, the color changing leaves here are phenomenal.
Matthew — Google review
This is Las Vegas is only ski slope, and the quality of the snow is completely dependent on the weather. I was lucky that on today I went. It was slightly snowing and so there was powder on the ground.
My girlfriend was sorely, disappointed that they were completely out of all rentals. There were many other visitors who were also standing around in disappointment.
We confirmed multiple times that every single snowboard, ski, or boot rental was rented. I found this preposterous, especially given that it was really not that crowded on the mountain.
With that said, the lodge is clean and beautiful, and the food and drinks are reasonably priced given the fact that they have a captive audience.
Even though it is your only option for a close ski slope I do think that it is worth it. Just make sure that you rent your equipment in Las Vegas before you drive up.
Dwight Calwhite — Google review
Lee Canyon consists of 5 lifts and 22 trails so it is considered small compared to Big Bear' in California or nearby Brian Head in Utah, but it doesn't try to be those. On our recent first time visit, it was one of our best experiences at any resort, and at a fraction of the price. You simply can't find this type of value in nearby Southern California where lift tickets for adults easily exceed $100 and even for kids they can exceed $40 or more. There was a nice mix of people there, and staff were all very attentive and helpful, especially for our kids who were beginners.
It can get very busy when visiting on a holiday or a weekend, especially right after it snows, and this happened when we visited on a school holiday, but despite the busyness, for any issues we had, the staff far exceeded my expectations, I can't say enough about the customer service staff who answered our questions via email, they were awesome and resolved every and any issue we had!
Food options are decent, but I would have liked some vegetarian/vegan food options. You may have to wait a little longer during the lunch hours (at/or around 12pm) so you may want to order food outside of those busy times.
Nearly all of your booking should be done through their website. That includes lift tickets, rentals and lessons. And watch out for coupon codes that they offer from time to time. At the time of our visit, there was a great 50% off code being offered.
Overall, this has become one of our famiy's favorite resorts for skiing and snowboarding. We look forward to coming back soon and many more times!

Pretty cool place. Vegas is really exciting. You can literally find so much to do.
I had no idea this place was a thing. Only 1 hr 10mins away from Henderson. We took the drive early. I read there was a lot of traffic going up there right after the snow fall a couple days ago. Got there early, still a large amount of people there early too.
We didn’t know what to expect because we just spontaneously decided to go up there since we knew there was snow. Basically trying to find things to do since we will be here for the New Year’s Eve fiesta…
The drive was excellent. No traffic, spectacular view and snow everywhere. We pulled over took pictures.. We didn’t rent any skiing equipment. We took the drive for the experience. However, we did stay awhile to see other people ski. Next time we will be prepared to stay the whole day, with skiing equipments and skiing attire..
I gave 4 stars because, there should be other rentals equipments available. Like, those tubs you slide down the snow with. Anyway, I recommend spending a day at Lee Canyon.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. The drive was spectacular. The atmosphere was breathtaking. I love the restaurants that are up there and the little options that they give you on dining. It didn't get to write to ski lift.. because this girl does not ski. Definitely suggest going during the week much less traffic than the weekends. Lots of places to park and less less less crowded. I strongly suggest picking up your trash if you happen to go up there to visit. There's nothing worse than leaving your trash behind in a beautiful place like that. People live there also. That's also something to taken to consideration when visiting this place. Had a great visit. Looking forward to going again.

Me and my kids had a great experience up there. It was a really nice environment the prices decent. Especially with it being in the only place in the Vegas area. Nice view and chilling place. In the beginning of October, you can see yellow falling leaves. They have chair ride, disc golf, archery, and axe throwing. Also nice trails near by. Next time I will try to come again in Winter!
Winter Update 20-21 season:
If you are visiting from the other states, you won't believe Vegas has a good amount of snow! Not really having a variety of slopes but definitely decent grade and quality slopes. Bunny hill is getting pretty crowded after 11 AM, and it is just the right size of slope although relatively short. Also it has small terrains which are excellent for beginners. Watch out when you are stopped at the side of the slope because many riders are coming out of the woods. At the lunch time cafeteria gets crowded so make sure be prepared. Definitely good value since it is near the city (40 mins) and has perfect moderate difficulty slopes. Also be aware of road conditions which require snow tires in special cases. Check website.

Looking to take a “short” local road trip in just under an hour. Then Lee Canyon is the place for you. Beautiful scenery, fresh air and a winter wonderland (Snow), for the kids and even some adults to enjoy. You don’t have to be a skilled skier or snowboarder. You don’t even need fancy equipment or expensive snow gear to have a great time. An inner tube or even a plastic snow sled will do. Snow is expected to last up until the end of May. So, you might want to make the drive with family and friends while it still last. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the day.

I live in Vegas and try to bring everyone that comes to visit us, to Lee Canyon. Wild horses and donkeys, mountain views, trees, and greenery, are all breathtaking. There is a restaurant and coffee shop. I like to take a ride on the ski lift but you can rent bikes and stuff too. I’m a nature girl and this is my oasis in the middle of the desert.

A very enjoyable place. Renting equipment is simple enough and you can choose to either ski or snowboard. I took my children and we all had fun.

Great affordable place for Vegas locals. Pretty moderate level slopes. There were some icy patches but for the most part, the snow is nice and fluffy.
One complaint is, there was a lack of signage and clear direction from staff on how to check in, and where to go. Be careful as there is lack of clear signage on the blue square trail at the end of the second ski lift. There is a split in the trail and I’m lucky I overheard an instructor warning of a steep slope if you take the right hand trail.
I love that they put the gear on for you. The system they have is very odd though as you have to wait for your name to be called to receive your skis. I wouldn’t mind as much, but there is no seating. I waited about 20 minutes for my name to be called while standing in the ski boots which was quite exhausting.
Besides the minor issues of signage and their call system, it was a beautiful spot, and I would definitely recommend it and go again.

We went up for the spring pond skim and some late season shredding. The mountain was easy to get to. No traffic. Beautiful drive. Parking was free for us but usually costs $10. The lift lines were zero the mountain was not crowded at all. The rails and park were in good condition even tho it was late season. We are going back next Saturday for another round of shred.
Charles Mui — Google review
I have skied all over. The mountain is great for its proximity. The new lift and the area for green are great for my kids.
Renting is a problem, though. Luckily, we have our own equipment. If you rent, get there for 8a, or you'll be only getting on the mountain at noon (this happened to friends of ours who showed up a 915, there schedule rental pick up time on 4/1).
Earlier in the season, they were petty on eating at the outside tables if you brought your own food. They wanted you to walk out to the parking lot eat. I have never heard of this. On 4/1, this was much more lax, and we saw people eating their packed lunches on the outside patios.
You do need to keep an eye out for chain restrictions on the road, this is something NHP does take seriously and if you go up often invest in some, you get them for not too much on Amazon. My two older sons have learned to ski here, and with it being about an hour from the South part of Vegas, it is great to go up. The kids ski free is also a perk. Get your tickets ahead of time to maximize value.
I have attached a few pictures of going up the magic carpet. This is new and grants you access to the new lift over in the greens. This has truly made the mountain great for beginners as well. Prior to this, there was such a large jump from the bunny hill to the blues, and the only way to access these greens was from a black diamond.

We took a ride up on Christmas to see the area. We had never been there before. Not much snow yet. There wasn't much snow for those who were sledding. I don't think the ski lifts were open since hardly any snow. The next storm will probably bring plenty of snow.

We went for snow play right outside the resort which was fun. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy and the snow was deep. We like to come at least once a year for the snow.
Las Vegas visitors looking for a nature-filled escape can find it at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The conservation area comprises a network of canyons and hills with opportunities for hiking, biking, rock climbing, and desert wildlife watching.
Red Rock is the perfect day trip if you are in Las Vegas and want to enjoy the outdoors. There are numerous trails, each with dynamically different scenery. The Calico Tanks is a 2.5 mile round trip hike with about 400-500 feet in elevation change. It is absolutely beautiful. When you get to the end, scale the wall for an amazing view of the entire Las Vegas Valley. If you are a bit adventurous, go off trail on the way back. You can't get lost, as the canyon walls lead back to the trail head.

We spent several hours here doing short hikes and just exploring the canyons. We visited in October and it was hot 80s F, but not unbearable. Many of the trails are very walkable and easy. I would recommend a hat and sunscreen as there is very little shade. It was about a one hour drive from Las Vegas and a perfect day trip. We combined this with also driving to Death Valley at sunset. Beautiful landscapes and so much to see. Highly recommend!

Awesome views and really nice trails. It felt like we were on a private tour of the canyon. The 1-way road stretches all the way through the park, and it felt as if we paid for a private road. I recommend you go nice and slow. You almost feel like if you're back in time so much so that you can definitely shoot a jurassic Park scene here.
There's a 9/11 memorial on the park, pretty ko and interesting to see, you may miss it so be on the look out, it's on the side of the visitors center.

Had a lovely afternoon trip with the family to the Canyon. Beautiful open space with stunning rock formations. Saw a little wild rabbit near the visitor center. Definitely fill up on water before the drive especially if you're hiking.
We were able to follow a hike into the Canyon. It was sad to see that someone vandalized the water hole but it was easy enough to ignore. So many tadpoles in there! Not too strenuous. Great place to go to get away from the Las Vegas chaos.

What a peaceful place to be! It's so exciting to hike and explore the Red Rock Canyon! We had such a great time. A local showed us some ancient writing on the mountain. We were also able to watch some mountain climbers do their thing! Take the whole family. You can choose where to hike and the sights are stunning regardless. It's also a blast to climb into the little caves and relax for a little while as you take in the beauty of your surroundings! Now, there's always a chance that you will run into a tarantula in one of those caves, but I didn't. Take the trip and enjoy a great time outdoors!

Red Rock Canyon is a beautiful preserve teeming with color. You'll be able enjoy the scenic drive with regularly spaced facilities, or stop at the many well marked trails and do some exploring. I was thrilled to discover so much foliage in bloom in December. The stillness of the caverns was a wonderful break from the amplification of sound in the city. If you have a moment to be still for a bit, you may be able to see wildlife like Panamint Chipmunks or Mountain Bluebirds.

The whole area was pretty incredible. We went on the self-guided tour, read the signage and chose to do most of the moderate hiking trails. The temperature was about 20-30° cooler than in Las Vegas. There were plenty of bathrooms to use along our journey at the scenic stops. We brought a case of water with us in the trunk and definitely needed to kept hydrated.

Amazing scenic drive and the weather was perfect that day. If you time your entry right, don't forget to have a picnic lunch at the Willow Springs parking lot... plenty of picnic tables just be aware they aren't covered so you're exposed to the sun. Many stops and parking lots along the scenic drive for photo opportunities. I'll be back here again someday!

Beautiful! For $20 per vehicle, you can drive the scenic loop and just look, or get out at designated parking areas, and take photos. This is a great location for those who just want to see the beauty and/or maybe take a little walk down a trail as well as those who hike and climb.
We spent about 90 minutes there because we drove through and only walked part of one trail.
There are bathrooms (larger, fancy porta-potties, basically) at some spots. Grab a map when you get there so you know where they are ahead of time.
We ordered tickets online. At 9 AM on a Sunday, it was not overly crowded - we never had a problem pulling into one of the parking areas.
If you're visiting Las Vegas, I definitely recommend spending a couple of hours at Red Rock Canyon. You'll get great photos!

Red Rock Canyon was a short drive from the strip, we went the first week of March. Beautiful weather to go there in by the way.
First few minutes we were driving we saw the donkeys they were so cute!
We hiked the trail to see the Waterfall which is only around in the Spring, it was very pretty. Muddy going up and a lot of rocks but we did it!
The gift shop was really cute, had a good amount of souvenirs.
There were bathrooms at each stop thankfully.
Overall we stayed about 2 hours, didn't do to many trails but you don't need to to see the beauty of the park!

Chill. Well more the vibe than the temperature. On that thought, this is a place best seen in the morning. Both for the temperature and the light. The main entrance has a visitor center and a cost that requires a reservation. Save your money and time and simply drive down to one of the free trailheads. The trails are groomed and fairly flat. You can easily do an hour adventure by walking a half hour out and then turn around and come back to your car. I think my favorite thing was the variety of cacti and succulents that we saw.

Made it a priority to explore as much as we could for the day but if you can go multiple days, I highly recommend it. I believe the entrance fee is $15 per car but we had Uber drop us off/pick us up. The commute from the Vegas strip was relatively short. The views on the journey were absolutely breathtaking. The Calico Tank trail is moderate intensity and worth completing. Bring more water than you think you need and snacks.

A scenic, picturesque and serene landscape with amazing views of mountains. The day pass (about $25 in 2024) allows access to the visitor center, scenic loop drive and access to all the trails.
Please note that cars should only stop at designated areas on the loop. Plenty of photo opportunities and access to well marked trails are available in these stops. The larger scenic view points also have restrooms.

Really beautiful and well-maintained natural area with excellent hikes. We enjoyed it so much on our first visit that we opted to return with family the next week!
The online reservation system works well to manage crowds in the scenic loop (where most of the trail heads are), but it means you need to plan ahead for your visit. You might wish to download the park map before your visit. (They didn’t have paper maps when we were there)
We hiked there two different days and appreciated the well marked trails. There is parking at each collection of trailheads, and some lots also have pit toilets. Several areas also have picnic tables.

For a small park that is easily accessible from Las Vegas, you can easily spend a whole day here exploring the canyons, doing short hikes and rock climbing. This place had amazing views. There is a scenic drive route that allows you to see many beautiful sites along with many hiking paths. Be prepared if you plan on hiking any trails. Impressive landscape! And that is the reason we came here to see an old Western-style Nevada town-themed attraction. Too bad we came on a Tuesday (their dark-days) but the staff allowed us to explore for free!
Definitely a must see attraction if you want to get-away from Las Vegas and see something different and unique.

I'm really sad to hear this place will be demolished to make way for yet more unwanted housing to facilitate corporate greed.
This is(was) a great place to get away for a few hours, the restaurant was pretty good with decent prices, the jewel of their menu was most definitely the bison steak and the bison burger, not always available but worth the trip to find out. I've taken my kids there before and it was a great bonding experience, the town was fun to stroll around in and the shows and gun fights were fun. I wish I had gone more often. Oh and the place is haunted...I wonder if the ghosts will stay and haunt the new place....I hope they do....... Lol.... 👻

It says fully operational Wednesday thru Sunday. We are here on a warm December day. The only things open are the things that cost money like the shops. Wax museum is closed. Most exhibits are closed. This is probably the worst attraction for adults I have ever seen. The petting zoo was decent and the kids during busy season might love this place. As for adults, don't bother .

Fun place to go to for the kiddos! There is a crooked house that is fun to walk thru!
Liked the wolf! Right now it's a good time to go since it's not that hot! Did not eat at the restaurant (didn't want to wait 30 mins with 2 kids) BUT the burgers smelled so good!!

The cowboys were great, the atmosphere was incredible. I ate in restaurant, then i my kids went on a 1 hr ride, I went back in restaurant to stay warm and dry from weather. My oldest daughter brought her puppy that is in training for a service dog, for seizures inside bar/restaurant, where the supposed bar/restaurant manager questioned us about puppy, then kicked us out of establishment and off of property. Shame on her and whoever hired her. I'm sure knowing Bonnie, and that being a FAMILY and animal rescue foundation would of never of stood for that. May nothing good happen for the survivors of her. That must be the only job a bar manager can get, treating patrons with disabilities bad. No wonder ur sold and closing.
Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa is a luxurious resort hotel located in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area just off the Vegas Strip. It has a large pool, Kids Quest playground, gaming arcade, bowling alley and movie theater.
I didn't realize this hotel has been there over 15 years - everything looks new and has been refreshed. Great location with awesome views. Each time I went to the front desk, the staff was super friendly and helpful. Casino cashiers were super friendly as well. The staff seem to be happy to work there, which says a lot. Rooms are good, nice size with great features. Mine had both a tub and shower, double sinks, which are always appreciated. You don't have to go through the casino to get to the hotel rooms, which was a plus. The restaurants are awesome. Casino is fun and clean. The pool was awesome - lots of places to just relax or use the main pool, which was funky with the levels and center fountain, so fun. There is a movie theater, bowling, kids arcade/games on-site! You can walk across the street to the mall for shopping and even more restaurants. So much to do - you don't have to ever leave!

Very beautiful hotel/resort outside the strip. Love all the chandeliers and crystals. Friendly service. There is even a bellman at the door to open it when you go in and out. Quite fancy. 😄
If you like a casino that doesn't small like smoke then this is great option. They're area you can smell it and some smell very nice and clean.
The spa and pool are lovely as well. The price is also lovely if you know what I mean. 😆

I've visited RR Casino Resort & Spa on several occasions beginning from 2014. Overall, this is a very nice/elegant establishment especially for a Station property. I've tried all the restaurants currently on site to include the ones that are no longer there. This place offers a variety of restaurants for a pseudo-foodie tour, not to mention its luxurious services on site. As a Las Vegas resident, I will say that RR Lanes is probably my favorite bowling alley in the valley. I'll add comments and a rating to their specific Google site. I've never done a staycation here, but I did get to see a room in person. From what I saw, the rooms seem very nice and spacious for a double queen. The one major drawback for me is that every time I play here, I don't feel that the casino host(s), guest services, etc. value their Chairman-level players as much as other Station properties. Also, I never had the opportunity to retrieve the name, but there is a cocktail server that should probably find a different job (something less customer-oriented). And this is not an isolated event either - I brought family and friends after several incidents here to experience it as well to ensure I'm not the one blowing things out of proportion; they all validated my comments. Again, this is only ONE server; the rest of the servers are great! I still highly recommend this place to all visitors and residents; this place is very clean and smells fresh (doesn't smell like wet dog or 80-year old ash trays).

This place has been making me angry ever since I got here.
The primary reason being that I feel constantly manipulated and prodded to spend more money.
For example: There are mini fridges, but you cant put personal items in them without weighted electronic sensors knowing. Brought home leftovers from dinner, had to throw them out. Bought some drinks at the grocery store, cant keep them cold in my room.
Cant bring drinks the (warm cause of no mini fridge) water I bought to the pool, so I'm forced to pay their jacked up prices to buy their drinks inside.
We are paying around $300 / night.
We are buying their extremely overpriced food in their in-house restaurants. And then they reward us for choosing this hotel to spend our money, by trying to squeeze more every time i turn around.
Then just as a matter of personal preference, I find the ambience and vibe unapealling. Trying too hard to be modern and cool. This is the grossest den of consumerism and materialism. Definitely to be expected because it is a Vegas casino, but its helping me to share how much I found it distasteful.

We stayed in a regular king room. It was large and quiet. Everything about the room was very clean and nice. The only complaint I had was with the distance it was from our room to the elevators. There was only one bank of elevators on the floor and it was a very long walk from any room that isn't right by the elevator.
There was a nice selection of restaurants in the resort and lots of places to get a drink, too. The casino was clean and had variety of games and tables.
The pool is beautiful, very large and had several pools. Service at the pool was good, too.

The Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa was the location of a conference I attended and I can definitely say that I'm happy it was!
The whole resort was very nice and the service throughout was very good. There were one or two incidents that would stop me from calling it amazing (and both of them took place within the Lucky Penny restaurant).
Aside from this though, the resort had everything one would need; a sprawling food court with 2 Starbucks, the casino, an absolutely amazing pool deck and a top class spa.
Unfortunately I was not able to partake in everything due to my conference schedule but the things I did do, I thoroughly enjoyed.
My only caveat would be to ask for a room closer to 001 on whichever floor you're on. I had the "good fortune" to be placed in 058 and came to find out on the first night that it was the room at the end of the block. Don't get me wrong, it had a wonderful view and the room itself was quite nice but it was quite a walk from the elevators. At least it helped me get in my steps!
Overall, the resort was really, really, really good and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat if I could.

Visited our daughter over the Thanksgiving Holiday '23 and again RR it didn't disappoint us. Love this place, my daughter loves it and we'll definitely be back. Tables were generous and roulette was hitting! The slots were even doing good by us. The only down side or disappointment was the waitresses not coming around often and when they did, they were a little rude outside of a good time. Hopefully, next time it'll be a great time I'm sure. We may stay here when visiting our daughter, would like to experience the rooms...

I came here and a local trying to have a fun Saturday night with my husband, my daughter and some friends. We came bowling and has a great experience. The food court out side the bowling alley is really good, the food court inside the bowling alley is great as well. We got mozzarella sticks and fries and a couple pitchers of soda that lasted us out whole game. I enjoyed my self so did my friend and family.

The reason I gave it 3 stars...the room was stuffy even with the air and the bathroom should have vents when you get out of the shower...it is so hot and steamy in the bathroom. Also, guests were smoking in the rooms where you actually smelled smoke walking to the elevator. Some people don't smoke. It was enough to smell the smoke in the casino.
The people that worked in the hotel were amazing and always friendly, professional and accommodating. Great job!!!
The food was delicious in the restaurants.

The resort was kept clean. The room was nice. There are plenty of food options. The bowling alley was really cool, the kids enjoyed it. There's even a movie theater if you need a relaxing activity. I love that they enforce masking, it added a sense of well-being to my vacation. The staff was so friendly, especially our housekeeper Suzan. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy.

The pool and other outdoor areas are really nice. Worth the drive 4 sure! 👍🥰😊

Beautiful hotel, staff was great and the rooms were nice. Good selection of restaurants in the casino. The only downside is that it’s in the middle of nowhere. It was great for our conference as we really just stayed there and had everything we needed on site. I’ve also been to Vegas many times so traveling to the strip was not part of my plan. But for those that want to see the strip, you’re looking at a good 30-40 minute cab ride just to get there. If being on the strip isn’t important, I’d recommend this resort.

Place is really nice and Family friendly. We originally went there when it opened because the room prices were really nice for what you got even though it was really far from the strip.
But maybe 5ish years ago we stopped going because their room prices went way up close to the premium hotels on the strip like the Wynn. If I am going to pay premium prices and everything is equal except location. I’d of course rather stay on the strip at a Wynn or Caesars Palace level hotel.

Local's places have always been a thing for me and Red Rock Casino properties rate among the best. This property is likely their top spot. Wonderfully designed and laid out with a huge selection of fantastic restaurants, bars and shopping is a very upscale but not terribly expensive price point. Every I interacted with from dealers to hostess, management and room staff were amazing knowledgeable and willing to help. The rooms are a bit pricey for the location, but the amenities out weigh the cost. Make sure you check it out!!

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful resort. I was celebrating my birthday and I could not have imagined a more wonderful place for my celebration. I love Red Rock and cannot wait to go back again soon. The surroundings are stunning. Great casino and fantastic restaurants. I live in Canada and have stayed at a couple of hotels on the strip over the past several years.. On this trip because I am a senior I wanted to be surrounded by luxury, class and peace and quiet. Red Rock you are the best!!

Check-in for the Hotel is 3pm and we arrived at 5pm. We were told our room will not be ready for another hour. We explained we were meeting family at 6:30 for dinner and needed to shower and change. The options we were given were downgrade to a smaller room and the $50 resort fee would be waived or upgrade to a larger room for $100 more per night plus $50 resort fee. Not much of an option.
Next, the Sheet from the pull-out bed from the sofa had (I hope) just food stains and not blood that it looked like. Housekeeping came to our room at 10pm and changed everything out.
Finally, the shower had a significant leak in the seal and flooded the bathroom. Maintenance was called and it was fixed.
Rough experience.
There are a lot of options in going to Vegas and we picked Red Rock because of a friend’s referral. The resort is beautiful, but the Hotel Staff/Manager at check-in made their fault our issue to resolve.
I will say that the Spa is amazing and was the hit of the visit to Red Rock.

I would give 0 stars if it was possible. The room we booked wasn't what we got. The desk attendant argued with us that we were wrong. The bed wasn't King size - we have a king size at home, that we share with two large dogs, with plenty of room to move around - this bed had no room to move around with just the two of us and no dogs. I am an average height woman and my feet were hanging off of the end of the bed when I woke up. The tub was absolutely filthy, when I went to fill the tub there was a film of muck floating on the surface of the water. We called the desk again to speak with a manager about the bed not being a king bed and, the state of the room. The Manager argued with my husband that it was a king size bed and, literally told him that because we were there for an event we wouldn't be gambling and, she wasn't going to upgrade our room for free because we weren't going to be spending money at the casino. So, we went out of our way to not spend money at the Red Rock! We had already spent 15,000 on the event and accommodations for 2024 and, 25,000 the year before for our wedding and the convention. But we will never, ever give the Red Rock our money again. Our convention may book again but, we personally will not spend another cent at this hotel and Casino!

I've been to this resort several time . Although it's quite a drive from any part of town in Vegas , it's very well worth it . It's always so clean and fresh. My last visit was to it's movie theater. My son and I watched Godzilla vs Kong. We went with the 4d experience. AMAZING! All the effects made it feel as if we were on an amusement ride . All the misters and flashing lights ! The rumbling of the chairs were on point with all the action in the movie ! Highly recommend Red Rock movie theaters.

This place is absolutely wonderful. It is in the suburbs of Las Vegas. From the moment we came to the hotel, we were greeted with beyond exceptional hospitality. Our room was magnificent, and the staff was fabulous. The view of Red Rocky Mountains was out of this world. Just breathe taking. There was so much to do at Red Rock. There was a casino, spa, movie theater, an arcade, and a kids quest for the children. It is only about 25-30mins from the Las Vegas strip. Though the strip is nice, I would not have wanted to spend my stay anywhere else besides at the Red Rock. Thank you for my first and best experience being in Las Vegas. I can't wait to come back with my entire family.🥰💕✨️

We had a wonderful stay here! Everywhere was clean, rooms didn’t smell like smoke at all. Spa was fantastic and all of our food was so delicious and fresh! We went bowling one night and felt like price wise it was a good deal, especially for such a fun, well kept alley. Free parking was definitely a plus. Would definitely recommend staying here.

They closed the buffet. took away the $2 Margaritas. and $1 dollar beers during games. No more specials at the cafe. The prices at the restaurants have increased dramatically. The bowling special for seniors went from $6 to $9. A beer at the bowling bar is $9.50. Went to Yard house Restaurant. Waited 15 minutes for the waiter. Grilled cheese sandwich and ice tea $25. Said thank you to the waiter 5 times and he never said your welcome. We said hi to a employee at the bowling alley with no response. Asked her a question no response. Was she death...no She was wearing ear plugs. Went to the restroom and the stall was filthy. Pee and trash covered the floor and toilet. Only one paper dispenser to dry your hands had paper. The other 3 empty. Witnessed 4 people walking in the casino with PJ's on at 1pm! After the lock downs everything turned to s$%#. Such a beautiful resort. What a shame. It's a ultra high line resort now. Chasing away the huge senior population that surround it. Your average family cant afford it. The worst part is they charge way over for everything you'd think the employees would treat customers better and the bathrooms would be spotless. I want the old Red Rock back. Who are the people in charge? People who want to make money over customer satisfaction that's who.

Fantastic place! Bowling is a great addition to get away from gambling constantly. Great quick eats, we tried the Lucky Penny as well and the food and coffee were great. 5 stars all around! Visited this location with my husband for a simple date night. Very quick line and excellent service at the gaming counter. Machines were great, up to date with good payouts. The drinks were strong, flowed freely, and I didn't have to chase anyone down to get them. The facilities were very clean and well kept. After playing the machines we ventured into Leslie's BBQ for an AMAZING dinner... We are from the south send judge BBQ very very harshly and when I say it was good, it was GOOD. Except the Mac n cheese which was absolute trash. We will definitely be back to the casino as well as Leslie's.

Several staff members hovered around our table as they kept trying to remove dishes as we were still eating. There were several open tables and no waiting guests so I was not sure of the urgency. The portions compared to the prices were skimpy. I had the ricotta gnocchi, the flavor was fine and the presentation was great however the portion was skimpy for the price. I did enjoy the tempura seafood dish. Personally I would not return.

This is NOT a five star hotel.
I have stayed in two star hotels that were better than this.
I am not usually one to complain. This is actually the first negative review I have ever written on google in my life (you can see my review history). Not only were the rooms awful, their customer service was a billion times even worse than that. At first I thought it was just the night shift person having a hard day or something so I let it go, but when I went to ask the morning shift people to help us sort out some of the issues, they acted exactly the same way. I'm non-confrontational, so it took a lot of problems for me to even go talk to them in the first place; they were very rude; I thanked them for their time and then went back to the hotel room and cried my eyes out for like an hour, they were so rude.
They charged us an $800 nightly rate (plus an additional couple hundred for taxes and fees) for a cramped room with two queen beds and a view of the parking garage, no mountains, no strip. Their website is a lie. I am never staying here again, and I am in talks with my husband's company about changing their policy of putting people up here.
Oh, and they don't even have basic amenities in their rooms that even two star hotels have, like a coffee maker, or a mini-fridge, or a microwave. And they'll charge you through the nose to buy your own coffee from their restaurant or for room service. Also the drinks and snacks that they have for purchase up in the room are on a weighted platform so that if you even just pick it up to look at it, it will automatically charge you for it. Beware!
Also just as a cherry on top, they charge fees that are illegal according to both Federal and Nevada state laws.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
The company who put us up here offered to get me a free spa pass to make up for the bad experience, but then it turns out their hot tub is broken, most other amenities are closed, and you have to pay ridiculous prices in addition to the pass to actually get any services done at the spa. So basically a free spa pass is just a way to try to put you in a position of shilling out even more cash for overpriced services that I can go elsewhere and pay an honest company a reasonable price to do for me just down the street.
Do NOT book here. I have no idea where all their good reviews are coming from, but at this point I strongly suspect most of them are fake.
There are airbnbs that are luxury mansions for a lower price just blocks down the street if you want to go to the casino here. Do that instead, or better yet, avoid Red Rock all together.
I'm stuck here for another couple days, since they won't let me cancel at this point. I will update this review if it gets better, but I'm not holding my breath.

Nice hotel with everything inside. The hotel had a casino, movie theater, restaurants, bars, bowling alley, some shopping and a Starbucks!!!
You don't have to leave the hotel unless you want to go Downtown or to the Strip.
The only reason that I am not giving 4 or 5 stars in service was because I was ignored by a bartender (someone in my party had to ordered a drink because for some reason the bar tender just kept missing my call for assistance). I also had a hard time getting into a private event (even though I had my company's badge on) at the bowling alley. I had to step back because the "gate keeper" guy almost grabbed me when he put his hands up to keep me from going inside. Someone from my company waived at me so "gate keeper" let me pass. Again- I was wearing my name badge.
If you love the color red and glitzy things- you will definitely enjoy this hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze. Also, if you aren't able to check in early- there is a 24 hour restaurant that has great food.

First time staying off the strip this was a good option especially for the price. We stayed on the canyon side and this is very convenient if you want to hit those trails. Rooms were clean and the tub and canyon view was nice. I will say that for our first visit it was exceptionally difficult finding the front desk to check in. Maybe its just us but the signage was not intuitive if you aren't using the valet service.

I had an enjoyable trip to Las Vegas and stayed at this hotel. The room was clean, decent size and with views of the mountains. My complaint is that the room did not have a mini fridge or coffee maker. This is a problem across Las Vegas and not just at this hotel. They also only provide hand soap for the bathroom and no body wash or shampoo for the shower. I bring my own anyway so it doesn't bother me but others do use it. Room service was fast. Valet was friendly with no issues. Check out and check in fairly quick. Pool area looked nice from above but I did not visit.
