Amazing sights! The boat ride was an awesome experience! Would go back again.

My favorite hide-away in the north-eastern US. Beautiful campgrounds, many situated on small islands within the midst of nature. Had a great time out there with my son (11yrs) and friends hanging out, grilling, water skiing and tubing.
Ralph Schnarkowski — Google review
The water was gorgeous and the area had a mile long street like a boardwalk with plenty of shops, restaurants and attractions. We stopped and ate, played games at the arcade and I bought a candy apple and roasted sugar coated pecans that were so warm and delicious. It was also Americade weekend which was interesting to watch. Never seen so many motorcycles in place, a lot of women riders too.
Dana Brown — Google review
The best time to go is probably summers! We travelled from Albany and it took is 1.5 hours. We went in November 2022 and it was cold! Boats were not working and there were few people
Waqas Ahmed — Google review
Gorgeous place! Would love to go back. Charming people, mini hotels/ “motels” are clean, spacious and owners are fantastic. Many stores, bars and restaurants are clean and at walking distance to family own breakfasts and crafts shops, and wineries are great ! Lake rides were unforgettable and View was incredible!!!
Maria Lane — Google review
Beautiful views, small village area full of tourist-style shops, restaurants and the like. We were here the second week of June and the beach - what there is of it- was closed as where some of the shops and restaurants. Lake is huge, worth a drive to the western side and up and around from there. Spent two days, that was enough for me. I think it would be incredibly crowded later in the season with just 1 or 2 main roads.
People were not very friendly in the shops and the toll/beach access woman made me want to leave the town- incredibly rude.
Don’t think it was for me- if I go yo a lake region I like less touristy places. May be good for smaller kids or people used to that area

Have you ever seen clouds?? I guarantee you’ve never seen clouds like the ones at LAKE GEORGE.
Have you ever seen water!?? I bet not like the water at LAKE GEORGE .
Have you ever taken a breath before!??? It’s not anything like breathing at LAKE GEORGE.
Nathalie Reyes — Google review
This is my heaven, my favorite place on earth. The lake is pristine, the surrounding area is the same as it was 200 years ago. No place I would rather be. My favorite time is fall, the lake is still warm but the crowds are gone. If you have never been here, you must visit but make sure you get out on this lake. So much history.

Probably the cleanest park I've ever been in, very well maintained roads. There are 3 overlooks with nice views on the way to the summit, though the 3rd didn't have much to see because of some overgrown trees. The shuttle to the summit was closed for the time being, but they do allow cars with handicap tags to still drive up to the summit. Otherwise you can walk up 2 different ways: there's a shorter but very steep path, or you can walk up the road the shuttle usually goes on which is much more gradual but takes a little longer. We took that up and went back down the steep one. Views at the top are wonderful, definitely recommend it!

Easiest hiking but the views are breathtaking. Went there October 14 2022 and I was lucky enough found the peak fall foliage. Must visit places at Lake George.
Wakil Nadim — Google review
Great drive to the top and exploring the trails. You can see the full length video of the drive to the top and down on my YouTube channel
Riff Chord — Google review
I must admit the views are awesome. However they let the trees grow up and many of the views are blocked by trees. They claim a 360° view but you can't see all the way around. I would not go again unless the trees were cut.

Great hike or drive up the mountain. Several overlook stops with panoramic views over Lake George Village. Really really pretty place. Photos don't do it justice. Old remnants of hotel - was interesting to see. Go in the fall for the colors - they're spectacular.
Theresa St. John — Google review
Good hike to the top. Great view! A must visit if you are driving in fall. One of the scenic drives for us.
Monica Bansal — Google review
A difficult steep rocky uphill hike. Wear proper shoes and take plenty of water but its definitely worth the effort. Not a casual hike. The view at the summit is stunning!
kelly almasy — Google review
Amazing views! Worth the little hike up to the summit. Stunning in the fall.
A must-see when you’re in the area!
Pictures do not do this place justice! Must see for yourself.

This was a beautiful place!
Taking the trail to be here on top and enjoying the weather and view was totally worth it!
You can get shuttle or drive cars to cut down the trail as well but I'd recommend taking the trail from all the way down.

This park serves those who want to hike as well as those who would like to take it a bit easier and ride to the top instead. There are three lookout points on the way to the top, the second one being a panorama of Lake George.
The park at the top is well-maintained with plenty of space for enjoying views as well as eating a picnic.
Alyssa Beiler — Google review
Since short drive up to the summit. You can loop around the summit but strictly no parking on top. There is a parking lot just below the summit with a short walking trail up to the summit it’s a nice walk up to the summit. A little steep. The video up top is beautiful overlooking the lake and the town.
Buster Cat — Google review
It is okay, you can drive to the summit or park and do a 5 min hike. View is good from the top. No parking on summit. No restrooms in parking lot. entrance is $10, not bad.
N Karna — Google review
Very nice place to visit. At the last parking to your car. much better if you walk around 4 or 6 minutes to the head of the mountain because it is prohibited park if you want to do it with your car. From the top of the mountain, you'll see the best and more impress panoramic vision...
Miguel Angel — Google review
Get away from the crowds on Lake George and drive to the mountain. $10 fee for the road to the peak. Views from the top are stunning. Well worth the effort.
Reza Gorji — Google review
It’s a beautiful mountain. There are three stops but the best one is of course the top one. U can drive up and there’s parking. We went with a 5 months old on earlier October to see the fall colors. Since it was 80 degrees it wasn’t cold up there but please do go with blankets or warm clothes for other times. Theres picnic area in the summits although you have to take your own garbage bags. And carry it down with u. $10 entry fee. Its open till 4. I did saw people hiking but idk how crazy is the hiking im glad i was able to drive up to see the view. Hope this review helps others.

The Fort William Henry Museum is an excellent place to learn about the French and Indian War and the history of Lake George. The museum features an interactive experience that allows visitors to explore the fort themselves or take a guided tour.
This is a fort I honestly (as a history buff) didn't know as much about. I am so glad I got to see this wonderful fort which played a major part in The French and Indian War. The fort is impeccably clean. The staff is friendly. The fort is full of interactive and informative pieces of history. The fort is situated on beautiful Lake George and is in walking distance to all of Lake George's amenities. There is a good sized gift shop that is on the property as well! I recommend a visit to this amazing fort if you are in the area. I had a great time during my visit, thank you!
Paul C — Google review
We had the guided tour, all the guides were very informed about the history. The demonstrations were amazing when you think about what these soldiers had to go through just to load a musket and cannon. The fort itself was interesting as my husband and I thought about how cold it must have been there in the winter and the only heat was the fireplaces, if the room you and your roommates had one. Great for kids to learn about the history.
Georgia Wood — Google review
Great place to learn about so much history in Lake George area. There are days when you can watch reenactments, or take part in ghost tours. There's a great gift shop - even if you don't buy anything it's got interesting stuff. The fort itself is stunning and the many exhibits are informative.
Theresa St. John — Google review
My wife and I visited the fort William Henry museum and loved it. The employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. The fort is steeped in history and very scenic being on Lake George. Lastly the gif shop is large and well appointed.
Joe Rees — Google review
This is a very cool museum! We explored the museum a bit, then met for the tour. The history part was very interesting, but the highlight was the firing of the cannon and musket. The cannon didn’t work that well because of the humidity but it was still cool. We then explored more of the fort after and learned a lot.
Cecelia F — Google review
I visited this history museum this past Memorial Day Weekend. I absolutely loved it. The tour guides who are dressed in colonial garb were very informative and entertaining. The actual tour is only for an hour, but you can stick around to explore the fort on your own, which would take about another hour. I think the cost of admission is pretty reasonable per person for the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting this museum as it is a great learning experience for both adults and kids. Also, before leaving the museum, be sure to check out the great gift shop in the entrance area.
Lisa S — Google review
Wow! What a treat! So informative and entertaining!! Great way to learn history, GO ON THE TOUR!❤️ Muskets and Canons and GREAT historian actor/tour guides. Be sure to walk the museum in and out…. Preferably before the tour, takes about 45 minutes if you’re into reading about all the memorabilia, artifacts and history.
Naomi Praster — Google review
Went to the 45-minute Haunted History Tour with 11 people on Friday, 10/7/2022. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour, just the right combination of history and ghostlore. A real treat was the end of the tour when the guides turned out the lights for everyone to observe possible paranormal activity.
Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest in history or the paranormal. Very easy walk around the fort, everyone in our group from ages 13-63 was able to do the tour with ease.
I also want to mention that Cindy at the desk was a tremendous help after I made a mistake in booking. Nick and Casey were also great guides; it is obvious that they enjoy working there.
Dan Rief — Google review
Are you a history buff? Like colonial era history? Want to learn about the French and Indian War? Then you should visit Fort William Henry. Highly recommend paying for a tour. Many interesting artifacts and items on display. Really enjoyed it. You should give yourself at least 2 hours to take in most of the fort.
Andrew & Mary Babiak — Google review
Fun tour of replica fort on original site. See a musket shot and cannon fire right in front of you! First tour guide in the opening room speaks very fast and someone monotone - not easy to follow but better than nothing. Fun to explore other rooms and rooftop view of Lake George. Attached to massive gift shop. Note that it’s not a state or federal park but a private museum owner and operated by the hotel next door. Diorama’s and artifacts feel like they’ve been there since the 90s. Could use some technology and a more coherent presentation of the location/story. But 4 stars instead of 3 because of the live fire reenactment which were both well explained!
Stephan Miller — Google review
History comes alive at Fort William Henry. It is a restored Colonial fortress of 1755-1757 French and Indian War era located at the strategic south end of Lake George, an important part of the water transportation system used by both Native Americans and the Europeans
Visitors to the Fort have an opportunity to experience plenty of history: the long boiling tensions between global superpowers, the early days of a new nation and its impact on indigenous peoples, and the backdrop for one of American literature’s great novels. Visitors can experience this living museum with guided tours, historical interpreters, musket and cannon fire demonstrations, and self-guided tours.
In the fall, the Fort hosts Haunted History Tours featuring guided tours of spooky spots at the Fort and some great ghost stories. If you are a history buff, this is a must-do for you.
Sanjay Gupta — Google review
I’ve visited the Fort reconstruction several times over the last two decades. There has been an effort to present how this one small fort played such an important role in the British conquest of the North American frontier from the French. There are ramps up to the battlements overlooking the immediate area. The view across Lake George toward the north is impressive.
Georgene Moizuk Bramlage — Google review
Stop by fort McHenry for last tour of the day on Labor Day weekend 2023. These videos do not capture the entire tour there is a great gun presentation and Canon presentation and historic presentation inside the museum. The fort is in great shape and it's very informative to tour around the grounds.
Art Fernandez — Google review
Lot of fun learning about this short-lived fort. Very sad short life too. But history is our past and the teaching folks made it seem they were the people at the fort then. Spoiler
The fort was burned to the ground after a defeat. Lone part of a single fireplace remains.
Dano Otto — Google review
Recreation of a fort destroyed during the French and Indian War between France and England. Live musket fire and cannon demonstration, with two individuals dressed in period costume describing the history of the fort and it's purpose. Not as impressive as Frort Ticonderoga, but still a massive amount of history here.
Absolutely really enjoyed my family time at fright fest!! Spent the whole day here.. even though my heart no longer allows me to go on my favorite rides, I still completely enjoyed Mt time here. All the staff are super friendly and helpful!!

This park is clean. Employees are very nice.
Lots of rides. Some are close. We came two days in the row and same rides were close.
Not a lot of food varieties 😵💫. Specially for vegetarian.
When it rains it’s better 😂😂😂 no way there and you don’t wait in line 😂😂😂 but you are wait 😝
We are doing 6 flags parks in 13 days. Flow us.
Jacob and Adam's Adventures — Google review
It was so fun, I love the place. I will definitely come again many times.
Areen Zohaif — Google review
The days of StoryTown was so much better. Since six flags got their claws sunk into this place it’s gone down hill no matter what rides they put. The moment they moved the magical mystery tour outside and removed the rotor the place is not worth the money.
Iona Boxx — Google review
Definitely do NOT recommend. Waste of money. Bunch of rides shut down. Waited in a line for 40 mins for them to tell us my daughter, in her board shorts, can't ride without more clothing. Nothing stated on the sign at the front of the ride that you can't ride in bathing suit attire. Video proof of other family with no shirts. Bathing suit bottoms. No shoes, etc. Took us 10 years to return after the first time, will not return in the future.
Jennifer Lair — Google review
We live about 2 hours from Lake George, so decided to do the season pass, which was $50 ( worth the price imo if you plan on visiting more than once). We really enjoy it here, but my two biggest complaints are that the food is way overpriced, especially for the quality and the bobsleds are always down when we visit. I honestly wish they would just scrap that attraction and put a new coaster in its place. One great thing about Great Escape is that they are autism certified and we were able to get a wrist band for our son who has trouble waiting in line. This always makes the day easier for our family and we are able to enjoy the park without excessive wait times.
Cindy Buerge — Google review
I cancelled my memberships 2 halloweens ago due to a sick child and us needing to pay for treatment and just found out a week ago you have still continued to bill us despite our hardship!!! We have been emailing and calling for 2 weeks with no response. We had to contact a lawyer this morning on the matter.
jenn c — Google review
Have been coming here since I was a kid and while some of the rides I remember are gone some of them still remain and it always gives me a sense of nastalgia.
Tek Turbiasz — Google review
Awful! This place has gone downhill by over pricing and making it impossible to enjoy your stay! They recently changed their policy where you have to pay 30$ to rent a pound chair. They took away all the of seating and space at Hurricane Harbor! Their food sucks and again, extremely overpriced! Do not go! Go to New England instead

This is my third event held at Great Escape under one of their pavilions. The staff does an outstanding job serving approx 500 people buffet dinner all within a couple of hours of festivities.

Had an amazing day with our 3 kids and ourselves. From the amusement park to the water park.
Congress Park is a vast and landscaped green space in downtown Saratoga Springs, NY. The park features several springs that give the city its name, as well as lush gardens and statuary. It's a great place to take a walk or relax in the sun.
Wonderful park in the center of Saratoga Springs. Has multiple springs and fountains. Nicely landscaped.
Plenty of parking around the area. A perfect place to relax or to get away from the busyness of the day.
Multiple areas to sit. Plenty of space to run around for the kids or dogs.
Very interesting if you’d like history.
Abe H — Google review
This is a wonderful park with many places to sit for a picnic with the family. Statues, Spit and Spat, the Canfield Casino and Museum, and War Memorial are wonderful to experience in any season.
Theresa St. John — Google review
Wonderful park to chill at in warmer weather. Various fountains with both fresh and spring water. Beautiful statues, water, pavilions & paths. Great location for some lovely photo backdrops.
Kat Fred — Google review
A lovely place, very pretty, quiet when I went, and a place I'd love to visit again. We tried out the different spring waters here. I wouldn't recommend it too much, the water at the state park just down the road is what you're looking for. All great nonetheless!
Case Merrick — Google review
The day we were in Saratoga Springs it rained non stop. Despite the rain we still went to the park to see it. The ducks were amusing. The park is very nice with beautiful vantage points along the path. We did try the water from the 2 fountains. Can’t say I’m a fan of the flavor, but it was interesting to see.
Shannon Crawford — Google review
We visited in spring and the park was incredibly lush, and well kept. There was a unique vibe about it on a Sunday. Kids can feed the ducks, safe spaces to run and there are some of Saratoga’s famous springs surrounding the park.
Dominique Wilson — Google review
Congress Park is always a perfect experience.
This evening was extra special because it was my birthday. We had spent the evening at a restaurant in Saratoga springs, and then enjoyed a walk in the park.
I love that there are so many things to look at, including beautiful fountains and the amazingly historically preserved carousel.
Spencer Trask and his family are basically the founding family for Saratoga. There is a lovely statue dedicated to their prolific giving and generous spirit.
As we left the park we saw what looked like a flash mob dancing and singing. What it turned out to be was a proposal! It was an amazing experience that happens quite often in this park. It's a perfect location for those kinds of memories.
The weather was perfect so it was an amazing walk in the park and a perfect moon for a perfect ending to a perfect evening with my perfect love of my life.
Happy Birthday to me!
I'm a very lucky person.

Date of visit: Saturday July 8th
Gorgeous park with a Carousel
Our first stop in Saratoga Springs was to the Visitor information centre (across the street from Congress Park), and the lovely ladies there advised us to check out the Park.
We checked it out right away.
The park is gorgeous, well landscaped, beautiful gated entrance. The park has a lovely walking trail to explore it all. There are a number of sculptures, ponds, and a creek running through it. The main attraction is the Spring water fountains that many tourists come to to try the natural spring water that the city is famous for.
There is a carousel within the park that was carved by Marcus Charles Illinois. As avid lovers of carousels, we wanted to take a ride, but the carousel is cash only and we didn’t have any cash on us.
Plan to bring cash if you visit so you can ride the carousel.
The Italian Gardens at one end are beautiful and have a number of statues.
There are bird houses throughout the park.
This is a gorgeous first stop when you visit Saratoga, but don’t forget to check out the Saratoga Springs History Museum on property as well. This park would also be a great location to enjoy a picnic lunch.
There is parking inside the park – but it is limited and very tightly monitored. If you park in a spot that is not authorized you will get a ticket within minutes of parking.
Rogue Trippers — Google review
Such a beautiful park with rich history, it makes for the perfect early morning walk or afternoon stroll. I definitely recommend taking a rest on one of the many benches in the park so you can relax and take in all the beauty it has to offer!
Jason Noonan — Google review
Great place to sit and rest the legs after walking the main strip in Saratoga Springs. What a happy home for a flock of black ducks! The fountains offer plentiful habitat for these waterfowl, but they seem to enjoy human company more than you would expect. One duck was very interested in my camera! If you’re into close encounters with the avian kind, this is the place to be.
Gavin Wagner — Google review
Congress Park in Saratoga Springs is a delightful urban oasis that seamlessly blends history, natural beauty, and recreational activities. Strolling through the park's manicured gardens and tree-lined paths is a serene experience, providing a respite from the bustling city. The picturesque lake, adorned with elegant fountains and charming swan boats, adds a touch of whimsy. The park's historic landmarks, such as the Canfield Casino and the War Memorial, lend a sense of grandeur and cultural significance. With ample green spaces for picnics, a delightful carousel, and a charming pavilion, Congress Park offers something for everyone, making it a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.

We went here the other day enjoyed walking around in the history in the park, reading all the signs looking at all the statues

What a lovely park. Right off Broadway, beautiful and peaceful. Lots of cute baby ducks! I even saw a yellow one zoomin hard in that pond & a couple I met said there are never yellow ones! Lots of mineral water spring fountains to check out, a carousel, benches, etc. Meander over to Caroline street for a drink after :) just lovely at dusk!
Saratoga Race Course is a famed horse racing venue that schedules 6 days of racing per week during the summer season. It is renowned for hosting the annual Travers Stakes event. The racecourse welcomes visitors for a period of 7 weeks where they can witness daily races, observe horses warming up, have breakfast at the Track, take a tram ride to Clare Court to see horses exercising and indulge in food from available options.
We've been to Saratoga a handful of times and always have a great time. The people are friendly, the venue is great and the atmosphere is outstanding. We will be back!

Such a great experience, I spend whole two days over there. If you wanna feel real fun you have to bet, I didn’t bet too much, but few dollars just for fun is ok. You can enjoy in the parks, drink and eat so many different types of food. I bought few cool souvenirs so it remains me to this cool place.

This was our second trip to Saratoga. We are on a mission to visit every major racetrack, especially the ones where Chad, Todd, and Brad race. It was a beautiful day and we got autographs and met all the trainers including Chad Brown, Linda Rice, and Jenna Antonucci. We made sure to stop by the Big Red Spring. It was disgusting, I didn't expect it to be carbonated. It tasted like carbonated metal water, RJ said it was "ok". We were told that it's an acquired taste and that it's good luck so down the hatch it went before we placed all our bets! We pretty much broke even at the end of the day so maybe it helped us a little bit, at least we weren't in the negative. Saratoga is our favorite racetrack by far. The grounds are beautiful and they have plenty of drinks and concessions all over the property. It’s always a beautiful day at Saratoga!

Saratoga Racetrack is an exciting place to visit. Racing occurs 7 weeks only. You can attend races daily, watch horses warm up, have breakfast at the Track, take a Tram ride to Clare Court to watch horses exercise to name a few activities. Food is available, parking on site for a fee. Downtown area close by. Lots of shops and restaurants. Highly recommend this place.

Saratoga is absolutely Gorgeous!!!! The races were, to say the least, EXCITING and FUN, and a wonderful place to vacation with friends and family and try your luck on the horses!!! Delicious restaurants and late night bars! We met some of the nicest people also. Sure bet on a good time for all❤️❤️❤️

If you don't like gambling don't go here. But even if you do like gambling I would suggest you limit yourself to a few dollars, certainly don't borrow money to bet here. The place is filled with rich people who seem to want to compete with each other in the display of their wealth. The horses seem to be very good and I have heard they race them here.
Krishna Sudarshan — Google review
Easy to get in, regardless of time of day. You may have to park extremely far if you’re looking for free parking. Food options are limited to mostly warm food which on a hot day may not be desirable. Otherwise fun to watch horses race and plenty of places to stand.
Daniel V — Google review
Had a fabulous time! I was a bit disappointed that more people didn't "dress for the races", but it in no way diminished the fun of being there. Everyone was nice and friendly. They even have salads vs all the other fast food options normally available.
Leah Heyman — Google review
We loved the track and the grounds overall, the thing we had issues with was the 3 days in the turf terrace clubhouse. The view was spectacular, but there wasn't any room to move around. The tables were so packed together you were constantly bumping the person behind you when you tried to get up from the table, and if you were on the inside of the table, everyone had to get up and walk into the narrow aisle to let you out. It was like they crammed an extra table in each row of the seating areas. The food was decent, service was okay. Other than the over packed clubhouse, Saratoga is the one of the best tracks we've ever been to.
Ken — Google review
Great experience, I recommend doing this at least once in your life. Concession stands a great. They have so many different types of foods. I recommend reserving a table in advance in case it does rain. At least you're under some cover. The whole experience is awesome and watch the horses trot around as they warm up and you could pretty much go anywhere on the grounds. It's very laid back.

Very beautiful, enjoyed the races and walking around the grounds! Food and cocktails were surprisingly good, though a little pricey. Seats in the grand stand were comfortable and worth the additional price

Awesome location! Beautiful horses and lots of good food and drink. Recommend to make a dinner reservation well in advance if you want a nice place. General admission does not include assigned seats, but you can buy assigned seats for about $50 per person and get them underneath in case it rains.

Saratoga is a vibe of its own. The experience is enjoyable and there is something there for everyone from food to shopping to picnic tables! It pays to bring your cooler of water on the family days and your fancy hat on date days! Horses are beautiful, not my form of entertainment to watch animals run for human pleasure, but the crowd and ambiance is the draw!

Saratoga Race Course is a fun place to spend a couple hours or an entire day. One may picnic on the grounds, enjoy races from the clubhouse grandstand and roam around the area in between races. You may bring in your own food and beverages or purchase them from one of several vendors on site. The best part is seeing the magnificent thoroughbreds and the excitement of the races.

Going to the horse races in fun. You can get into the stands early and watch the jockeys exercise the horses. We also took a guided tour of the grounds. Very informative. You have to leave around 9 or so then the track officially opens for the day around 10. During this time we went across the street to the racing hall of fame museum. By the time we got finished there the track was open and full of people having a great time.
The Saratoga Performing Arts Center is an acclaimed live music venue located in Saratoga Springs, New York. With a capacity of 25,000 people and a wide variety of weekly events, SPAC encourages cultural enrichment for all ages. The hall stage can accommodate both the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York City Ballet, making it a popular choice for classical concerts. Jazz lovers will appreciate the Hall of Springs Jazz Bar where performers frequently perform.
Good concert venue compared to others. Food and drink prices are typical. Good selection of drinks. Very friendly staff. Renting the lawn chairs is easy and worth it! Easy to get out of the parking lot at the end! Sound system is decent. Relaxed atmosphere.

We’re so lucky to have grown up here and have such a phenomenal venue to see various artist perform live. We have seen so many top music acts as well as the New York City Ballet and Philadelphia philharmonic.
The facility has been upgraded over the years to where now one can purchase super yummy food, wonderful alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, fantastic coffee, high quality ice cream and pop corn.
The lavatories to relieve one Self have been upgraded tremendously as well.
And there is a good amount of security to make sure things don’t get crazy like they did years ago.
I can not recommend this facility highly enough.

Saw a great show from the first row of the balcony. Fantastic venue for a show…took a walk on the lawn to see what the perspective was from the General Admission seats & large video screens detail the stage(which can still be seen from the lawn area)….packed crowd. Saw the Cold War Kids open up for Tears for Fears & loved it! Definitely recommend this venue, which is connected to a state park with an automobile museum, a pool, golf course, & park.

Went down for the Phish flood show. It was amazing. Showed up Friday and was raining non-stop until the show. Had general admission tickets, everything was just super wet but it is what it is. Had an amazing time on the yard. Good people everywhere.
Saturday night got there early and made a direct path to general admission down by the fence. Had a super amazing spot right in the corner. Staff was super friendly. Waiting staff wanted to sell you drinks and whatever else you needed.
The staff that worked there were amazing too. Watching them deal with the people was funny at times. The old ladies were so nice and friendly. Can't wait for another show.

Nice venue. We sat near the stage and it was really cool. The sound seemed better up near the lawn, but you can't beat the view and the shade of the seats. It has a nice park with good food vendors and cocktails, and a nice Pavillion with seats for the show

Large venue with quality sound and good seating. The only negative thing to say is regarding lawn seats. You have no view of the stage and need to wait until dark to view monitors. A good selection of beverages that come at a cost. This was the first time I was seated in the balcony row A. I had a full view and loved my latest experience there with the Outlaw Music Festival 🎶

We had so much fun here. This place is beautiful!!!!! Had a few strange encounters walking around the trails and parking lots surrounding the venue, but just be aware of what's happening around you, and you will be fine.
The venue is very unique!!! Lawn was extremely over sold!!!!
Venue employees here were a major pain as far as getting us all parked Friday night/ Saturday morning for Dead and Co shakedown. Like I said for other venues. You can't claim you didn't know we were coming. BIG THANK YOU to the local pd for telling the Live Nation employee guarding the gate at 2am to f-off, and let us all in.
Once we all got in, it was an absolutely awesome few days. Thank you for having us all.

It was a great concert venue! Love the open space! Seats were comfortable, and ushers were helpful. Staff at concession stands were friendly and helpful as well. Security was a bit of a pain, because I was told that my small purse was too big to bring in. But later on, I saw people with bigger bags and purses on the premises. Parking was a mess. I little more help with visual aid to show where people need to go depending on what parking permit they have would be helpful. I wasted quite a bit of time waiting in line when I didn't need to be. But overall, the evening was spectacular, and a great venue for performances!

Went there for the Dead and Company concert on June 18th 2023. The place was beautiful. Was not what I was expecting for a concert venue. It was set in a state park and was like a giant college campus with buildings and open grass areas. Very nice. Then the actual concert venue is inside the park. And it seemed very new like it was upgraded. So. We had VIP tickets and that gave us access to the VIP entrance and lounge & parking. But we walked around the whole area and saw everything. Nice woodsy setting. Streams along trails that go from parking area to parking area. Lounge was great had never been in a VIP lounge before and it was great. 65$ for 2 drinks though, so be prepared. But nice bathrooms etc. That’s what wife was happy about. So we made our way to the seats they were VIP box seats so we had a waitress(which blew my mind) and was like 20 rows from the stage. But they seemed to not enforce the no one in the isles like other venues I’ve been to in the past. People were just pushing forward in the isles which I’m sure they weren’t even supposed to be in the area. And our box had like 6/8 seats in it but people kept coming in and just standing there causing us to be cramped and awkward. Usually in the past the security is tight on that stuff and just seemed to be overlooked for some reason. Seemed like they had over sold the concert cause the lawn area was jammed with loads of people glad I wasn’t on the lawn. But was a great experience and beautiful place.

Great venue... highly impressed with our seats in section 11. DMB never disappoints either.. The parking situation was well managed and despite the thousands of vehicles present, the flow of traffic was efficient and well run. Lots of employees and attendants available to help guide and direct patrons. Can't wait to go back!

Would absolutely come back here for a concert. Everything from security, to vendors, to ushers were like a well oiled machine. We sat in seats near stage but I could see how even the lawn was excellent seats. They have little seating areas away from the crowds. The drink options were fun and shareable. My favorite part was that the womens bathroom never had more than a few minute wait as they had an attendant calling out open stall numbers and handing out paper towels for hand drying. I've never been to a venue where the bathroom was not torture for women. So much to do in the area that was fun to do you could come up a few days before or stay after the concert.

SPAC is the greatest venue to see and hear live music. Set in Saratoga State Park, the views and trees and landscape is beautiful. I have probably seen over 50 concerts over the past 50 years, ranging from the philharmonic to the nyc ballet to rock bands including Sting, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Train, Govt Mule, The Black Keys, Imagine Dragons and many many more. The Lawn Pass is the best ticket around, and once in a while, I splurge for an indoor ticket. Looking forward to Guns and Roses Sept 1, 2023.

Really fantastic concert venue. Sound is great, which is what you would expect for an amphitheatre. Staff is very welcoming and nice. They serve liquid death as water, which is always a plus. Lots of food options too. SPAC is a great venue that should emulated more across North America!

Nice, clean venue with great sound. I'd give it 5 stars, but the lawn is a little steep. It felt like I was standing on a roof while enjoying the show. Other than that, it was a good time. There's plenty of bathrooms and vending throughout the venue, and good selections for foods and drinks.
Keegan's Workshop — Google review
Beautiful venue, great sound, only downside is the obstruction of view but it’s because of the upper pavilion. Design flaw, but makes up for it in sound and ambiance. Truly beautiful place and have shared many good times with friends here.
Gregory Miller — Google review
The venue, crowd, and staff were very lovely. Had lawn seats both nights. The view of the stage was a bit obstructed in certain areas, best spot would possibly be middle of the lawn areas. Bringing your own lawn seats was allowed. Parking was nice as well easy in and out. Bring a grill some food and just hang out for a bit before the show. Would go back again. (Traveled from Illinois)

Good times. Unique and beautiful grounds. If you enjoy the artist greatly, spring for inside seats. Grounds, morphed greatly over the years. Can rent chairs. Clean bathrooms and extra porta-johns. Fun food options. Lots of choices. Some vendor tents will keep you occupied in the early hours. Very open. Screens could definitely be bigger. Lawn can be steep. If wet, drainage could use a little help so watch out for puddles. Could use some gravel fill. Either leave early or pay for premier parking. Or cool out waiting to get out.

Located in the heart of the city, Saratoga Spa State Park is a popular spot for visitors looking for a range of activities and amenities. The park features two golf courses, several mineral springs and pools, hiking trails, and more. In the winter months there are also snowshoeing and ice skating opportunities.
This is a huge tranquil park with something for everyone! This park is easily accessible with plenty of parking. You'll fall in love with the paths and trails that snake through this historic land. Bike rentals, golf, tennis courts , BBQ areas and restrooms will give you plenty to do. The park is also the home of two famous museums, the automobile museum and the museum of ballet.
Pro Tip: Do not exceed posted speed limits while in the park.

when you hear you are going tasting and to bring a cup, the last thing you think of is water. We showed up at a large beautiful park. The buildings on this complex look like the old Greek education centers. The buildings are red stone with awesome looking arches that give the illusion that they go on forever. This park has a number of different springs all with different flavors. History says it is believed that the limestone bedrock cracked and allowed the water to come up in different places through different minerals setting up their unique tastes. The Iroquois natives believed that the water had natural healing properties which was later passed down to the European settlers. Most of the water is naturally carbonated but there are at least 2 that are not if you don't like that sort of thing (like me!!!) Walking around it makes you think about how much you take water for granted. I turn on the faucet and water comes out. But that is not the way that it was for people 100 years ago. They had to search for water and know that it was healthy to drink. These special waters with their high mineral contents kill bacteria and make the water safe to drink (let's not talk about the tastes!!!). Wondering from spring to spring is like a thirsty treasure hunt, never knowing what you get until you taste it! This is an adventure that has to be tried at least once. To be on the hunt for that most basic of substances, water.

Beautiful place to come with family, dogs, alone. Trails for running, biking, and walking, places to picnic, gorgeous architecture, celebrate events. There's a creek, mineral spring geyser, just a great way to spend time out in nature.

Lived here 10 years ago for a little over a year and had no idea what this place really was. While visiting decided to actually walk around and was extremely pleased with the beauty of the park! The paths around are fantastic and offer incredible views, beware the trails can get extremely muddy. The perfect place for quiet reflection and just to enjoy the nature. Very cool to see the different springs and the way the mineral rich waters have changed the landscape. If you've got a free hour or so would recommend it!

Mineral springs tasting is major part of the experience. Taking free tour at environmental center is highly recommended since guide explains what mineral content to expect from each spring. You can get some sort of hiking in Ferndell section of the park with some beautiful views of hemlocks.

Last night I wanted to Saratoga to see the grateful Dead for the last time. Last year touring it was really crowded. Took us 45 minutes to an hour to get parking and we waited in line over an hour or better. Missed 45 minutes of the first set but once we got inside they put on an excellent show. Really enjoyed myself. Very crowded and think of the sold out 40,000 or better a crowd that size. I think they need to get a little bit more staff and get their act together. Get people through the lines. I don't miss the show after spending a lot of money for the ticket and getting there

Surreally beautiful. The spring water bubbling up and out is a wild thing to witness. Some of the springs are natural water completely clean tasting, others infused with natural compounds add flavors of high iron and salt with heavy sulfuric odor. This is a beautiful place protected as a natural park removed from commercial exploitation and rightfully so.

Came here in the winter. Lots of things to see, specially the water springs. You can plan a whole day to visit here. Its better to park down by Polaris spring then it’s easier to reach to most of the spring without long hike. Spring water taste like lemonade and it’s really good.

First visit to NY. The reviews looked good so decided to visit. Definitely wasn't disappointed. The park is excellent for walking especially on a bright sunny day in February. Got to visit the spring in the centre of the park. Would highly recommend a visit. I'm sure the park looks even better in the summer but still looks good on a day where there is snow on the ground.

Victoria Pool was great. Get there when it opens as there’s already a line by 10 AM & it can be tricky to get a chair. $8 cash or card. They have a cool book case with options to read if you don’t have anything. A bar with food outside, very convenient. The water is lovely. Gets a little dirty (overstuffed trash, bathrooms) by end of day but altogether a great swim with spring water and easy parking. Would definitely go back!

CASH ONLY! $20 per adult for admission and $4 for grain cups. This place was awesome! We got there at just before 10 when they opened and did the walk through first as the drive through part didn’t open until 11. We fed giraffes some grain which was amazing! Do that first! The camel stole my cup of grain right out of my hand but it was so cute. Get extra grain just in case. The drive through was great! The deer were so cute and they loved the grain. Unfortunately they also knocked it out of my hand🤣Get extra grain. There were lots of emus and they were obnoxious and pushy about getting into your car so beware! The drive through part took about 45 minutes. It is self guided. The walk through part is hilly and uneven and would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. This was a last minute trip for us. We were in Schenectady for The Lion King show at Proctor Theater and it was an easy 45min drive up there.

Me and my two friends went to Adirondack Animal Land and had a great time. I wasn't sure of what to expect. If you buy the animal food cups, when the animals approach, hold on with both hands! My friend dropped it and got covered with the food. Lots of Camels, ostriches, llama, alpacas, deer. Zebras cannot be fed ( not sure why), a couple of very friendly donkeys, some pigs. Just be patient because the animals walk in front of cars, takes time to drive through.

This place is incredible! My wife, son and I came here for a visit and it was a blast. Driving through the grounds and seeing all of the animals is quite the experience. This place is cash only to get in and at the gift shop. $12 per person is a great deal! Check this place out, it’s a lot of fun.

We went through the drive through section and got to feed and see the animals. My grandson loved it but watch the birds the stick their heads in the car and peck at the cup of food. The deer will eat of.your hand. We then went in the zoo area which is very nice with a picnic area. You can feed the caged animals in their pens. Climax is feeding the Giraffe carrots by hand. They bend their long necks over the fence to get a nibble.
Great way to spend an afternoon. They start to close up at 3pm section by section and by 4pm it closes. They also have a kiddie ride area.

It was quite nice, a little pricy at $48 for a family of 4 in one vehicle with food for the animals extra. Beware the camels at the entrance, they'll gobble up everyone's food before you even get through the gate. Camels, emu's ostriches, guinea fowl, pigs, various deer alpacas and llamas in a short driving course. Very nice for the kids.

We stopped here on our way to our Air BnB and really were pleasantly surprised! The walking area wasn’t huge but it was a great size for kids. And the animals all seemed happy and well cared for. The best part was the drive through safari. My kids loved having the animals stick their heads in the car, especially the camels and emus. And for a nominal fee you can purchase cups of feed to give to the animals. Just be careful, the camels like to steal cups and the emus can be relentless. There’s also a small gift shop with very reasonable prices and multiple picnic areas. Overall a fun way to pass a few hours.

Unexceptable enclosures for monkeys, Moscow birds, giraffes, kangaroos and various other common or exotic animals. Not nearly enough space for them to roam and as a zoologist, I can tell they are stressed. The two monkeys in a tiny enclosure with barely any space to climb or roam are attacking each other due to this, the one bit and ripped off the other ones tail. Disgusting conditions, needing to be inspected and investigated in order to change these conditions and improve them. Along with this the speakers that were supposed to play music were broken and constantly having static and screeching noises, that the animals have to endure all the time. None of the animals have enough space when there’s more than enough land unused and large areas of entertainment that are taking up space instead, make the enclosures acceptable for holding life. They live in these conditions 24/7 and it’s inhumane, as a zoologist and someone who is invested in animals well-being I am upset and will try to find ways to make sure this place gets improved. The drive through part was acceptable but regardless the conditions of the animals through the walk-through are unacceptable and disgusting, something needs to be done as soon as possible and I will be reporting to USDA.

I suppose if you want but a casino experience in upstate New York, you could certainly do worse than this, but the building looks garish, and it is an eyesore against the quaint, historic elegance of Schenectady. It is nothing but the most ostentatious, tawdry golden colossus, surrounded by an endless, bleak sea of parking. There's no semblance of harmony or order between the structure and its overall environment. It strikes me as a clumsy edition to a comfortable and welcoming old city. I am giving two stars instead of one, because the casino seems to be rather clean and well-run. Still, I try to avoid the entire casino area when I am in Schenectady, as it seems to betray the basic essence of its environment.

The room has multiple chairs that are very comfortable for sitting and watching the games. Behind does chairs are a bunch of tables where you can say eat food with a group of people and relax and watch the games. To the right of the TV or the chamber guys who are there to take your bets. To the left of it they're automated machines as well as more behind the tables where you can place your own bets. They are showing all the major sports games and the TVs are pretty clean. Usually smells like degenerate gambling and weed.

We were getting our car serviced at Mohawk Honda and they offered to take us to River Casino since it was going to be about 4 hours. We didn’t know about River Casino. As long time Atlantic City goers this was a pleasant surprise. Upon getting dropped off we did a walk starting on the Bike Trail along the Mohawk River before entering the Casino.
My wife got a player card and played some video poker. I walked around checking out the rest of the casino as she played. It’s a nice looking casino with a few places to eat and lots of machines to play at. We plan to go back and do an overnight trip so we can check out the hotel and other amenities.
Overall River Casino has a good vibe and a nice look. It’s well worth a visit if you like casinos.

It's a scam. Machines are tight. The hig limit room is always empty. Their waitresses never come around. Spent 1800 bucks and dis not get a single bonus. Denied my disabled father a scooter saying they don't do it anymore. 5 min later they gave one to someone else. My father is in wheel hair 24/7 and a veteran. And they treated him like he doesn't matter. And all I've asked for was a apology. Haven't gotten one. Is this the type of place you run? Bad news is that they won't even respond to this. Seems like they don't care. They got their money so why care. Thousands spent there and nothing to show for it. I'd like a response to this. Thanks

Long story, so read throughly.
On 11/12/23 I was having my wedding at Rivers Casino. Prior to that I was in search of the appropriate venue that could host, cater, sleep and provide an overall quality experience for 150 guest. Rivers casino/ Landing hotel was able to not only sell me a service, it was a pressure less, no obligation initial meet with so many questions. Fast forward, the sales team not only met me with every bit of detail to expect, the numbers and services they provided us with included efficient and timely responses and highly accurate figures in which I could expect to pay.
After the meet and greets and agreements. We provided a list of ideas, a vision in which we were ready to capture on our big day. These folks executed this task flawlessly. From linens and napkins to floor layouts and bar setups. Cocktail hour planning and signature drinks. We had flowers delivered and setup but they assisted in minor adjustments as a courtesy. Rivers has some amazing folks working on their team. Operations team was essential as they helped to coordinate our wedding parties movements, timing, line ups and how we were to execute entrances as well as exits. The constant check ins and follow ups with us was unanimously agreed upon and seen as beneficial.
The food service was profound. At our tasting I made some critiques and alterations that the kitchen was very receptive of. When it came to the big day, the dinner came out with every addition and alteration made. It surpassed the standard, and was perfect. We chose Salmon, Steak, Gnocchi with mashed potatoes two ways.
The Landing staff for the hotel included desk people all shifts, custodial staff and cleaners. Locked doors, lost keys and plenty of back and forth they were there for us.
I can't express enough gratitude to all things perfectly done by these supporting individuals. I highly recommend booking your upcoming wedding.

I have been going here since the beginning of this year (2024) and have had a great time so far. The Landing Hotel is clean and the rooms are nice with comfy beds. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and lets me check-in a little early since I have to travel a couple of hours to get there. The casino is a good size with enough machines and table games to have fun for a whole weekend. There are live bands every Friday and Saturday and they are top notch. The rewards add up quickly and you can get food and more with your rewards card. I haven't had a bad experience since I started going. Everybody is in a good mood and the vibes are always positive.
Former vaudeville house stages Broadway shows, comedy acts & musical productions in 2 theaters.
I always enjoy this theater. It's easy to get to. Parking on the weekend is free. The seats are comfortable. The women's restroom on the first floor has many stalls, so you're not waiting for long. The shows are always enjoyable and the sound system is very good.

Decided to go to Fandom Fest for the first time. What a great little adventure it turned out to be. From the guest, to the geek garage, Hollywood snapshots, cosplay, artist alley, vendor hall to the exquisite theater that held the panels.
I had a fantastic 2 days & will definitely be going back!

Spot light balcony isn't worth the cost! Couldn't see any of the beautiful details. very disappointed 😞 we came from a distance to major traffic jams with no assistance with directions for patrons. Overcrowded with no organization of merchandise booths, Bathrooms, (were inadequate for the amount of patrons) and exits. Not enough time to use facilities and the staff will lock you out of show. I understand respect for the great and amazing actors. .We needed more time and better organization. We paid a small fortune to NOTsee the stage clearly. Again will not visit here for any entertainment unless it's front row, i would still think twice...

Always a fantastic place to go to see a play, music events, movie, or small concert, Depending on what the schedule is for events.
I took my granddaughter to see Bluey’s Big Play, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, as always it was clean and well kept. There are a few shops in here with some fantastic items in them. It can get crowded in here, but it’s so worth it. Much love for this place

Saw Waitress. Good play, funny, well written, beautifully sung and acted. The theater is gorgeous. The volunteers are friendly, courteous and helpful. The seats are a little close together, but all of them seem to have a good view of the stage. Entering and exiting the theater is well managed.

A beautiful theatre that will take one back to the era of great entertainment venues. Proctors offers a variety of plays and shows. Recently attended a concert there and the acoustics were very good.

This is a beautiful, old theater from another era. The architecture inside is beautiful. I went to see Hamilton which was fantastic. The lights and sound were incredible. The theater doesn't have very steep stadium seating, so if someone really tall sits in front of you, it's difficult to see. But, as I said, theater is from another
era, so the seats and rows are also rather tight. But nothing to complain about. See a fantastic show there and you will be very pleased.

First and foremost - this building is NOT suitable for its large events! The narrow common areas make it impossible to get out quickly!!!
That being said, the remainder of my experience was wonderful! Saw The Lion King with family. The production, displays, props and actors were beyond awesome! Staff here were helpful, polite, and professional. This old theatre is clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. Parking for the event was close, convenient, and free. Leaving the event is similar to leaving a concert at SPAC, but patience gets you on the outskirts of Schenectady in about 10 minutes. Bravo!

What a fantastic show! I went to Proctors with my sister. We both loved the show, we laughed (and cried a little). We canvassed the people around us during intermission and and after the show and everyone loved it as much as we did. It is one of the best shows I’ve seen both here and in Broadway. Definitely worth your while!!!

I've seen three shows here, Book of Mormon, Wicked and Cats. All three times I've been impressed with the venue. The cleanliness of the theater, helpful and friendly staff, easy parking. Couldn't recommend this theater enough. Definitely beats going into NYC.

We went to see pretty woman. Excellent show . Beautiful old theater . Just the right size where you can see the stage without any problem. excellent staff plenty of parking short break drinks and snacks. Then back to an excellent show. We've been to many shows at proctors. We've enjoyed them all. We made the trip over from Vermont. Some traffic when you try to leave the parking area but after that was fine.

Sincerely enjoyed seeing Hamilton here. I love the architecture. I do think there could be better signage about where to exit to make it to which street, but I also probably missed a sign or two. Overall, we loved it! This is the 2nd time we went. The first time we sat in the balcony and saw lion king (2016) and loved our view then too!

I just love this place. We were there this past weekend for the 2nd annual Fandom Fest, we went last year as well. I have also been there for numerous musicals and shows. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The venue itself is gorgeous, it almost feels out of time. I truly love going there.

I used to go to Proctors Theatre often, having had grown up in Clifton Park. It has been a long time since I have been to the theatre since I moved out of the area. I just saw Ray LaMontagne this past Saturday. The theatre was even more beautiful than I remember. It looks like everything has been meticulously maintained! The acoustics were amazing! I used to always sit front row, center in the balcony, this time we had orchestra seats. It was an amazing evening that brought back some of my very best childhood memories. I will be checking the schedule to see when I can return again!

Just had a wonderful experience in-person at the box office. I have a disabled sister who needed some special considerations for an upcoming show. Emily, in the box office, took an incredible amount of time to help me find the right day and proper seating for her. She went above and beyond. Thank you, Emily!

I've been coming back to Proctor's for decades; tonight drove home why. Trying to buy tickets for a show in another local city the person who answered the "box office" phone snidely asked me if I thought that there was anyone sitting in the box office selling tickets ... I STOPPED by the box office at Proctor's, picked out my seats, AND saved nearly fifty percent for the same show! So yes, this historic theater is worth five stars! From Beethoven to "Gone With the Wind" to "Phantom of the Opera" to Dancing With the Stars, Proctor's has it all. I can't wait to see "Lord of the Dance" next month. 😉

We saw the Simon and Garfunkel Story tonight it was incredible. The vocals were unbelievable the band great. Highly recommend this show if you're a fan of Simon and Garfunkel. Love the Proctors theater

Been here twice and it's been brilliant both times. I loved the shows I saw so freaking much! Thrilled about the convenience and ease of parking, as well as helpfulness of staff and different viewpoints from seating in the Mainstage theater. The bathrooms and some of the halls can feel kind of cramped and could use a bit of updating, but it's really not that big a deal. I saw Lion King as well as Fiddler on the Roof this year and they were so so excellent. Will definitely be back for future shows!

I love the service. I love the decor. I love the plays and musicals that I go to see here. What I do not love is how cold it is in the balcony. I was very glad that I had my jacket to put across my lap and my friend had a scarf that could double as a blanket. Other than that this place is great!

Gorgeous stage and movie theatre. Friday I saw Les Miserables, which was fabulous. Over the years I've enjoyed Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, LA Boheme, Magic Flute here. Special thanks to Earlene, who assisted me at the box office! I am hoping that they will start the haunted tours again.
Great selection of high quality local food products! I left with some steaks and produce. My wife picked out some fancy lotion by Stonewall Kitchen. They have a small counter where you can get a sandwich or baked goods, which I will have to go back and try.

Great place to go to get flowers, shop in the market, or get a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. The flower selection is vast and the prices are reasonable. The grocery selection is very good with meat, dairy, and vegetables, it is nice to see that some of the vegetables are grown right here on the farm. The cafe and bakery provides breakfast and lunch including pastries and muffins. They also have gluten-free options.

Looks beautiful inside, they have a wide array of produce and other items. They have a bakery and deli as well. The large cookies were phenomenal and the coffee as well. The girl working at the bakery counter was AWESOME. We told her we were from out of state and looking for things to do. She went out of her way to write down a couple places for us to check out in the area. That girl deserves a raise! Wish I had gotten her name. She has short (dark?) hair and I think a septum piercing. She made our day with her kindness.

They have such beautiful flowers at the Carrot Barn! We came out to celebrate my little sister's birthday with a delicious, rich and creamy cake. Of course, I couldn't walk away without some lovely flowers. I bought a pot of beautiful petunias to brighten up my classroom, and a pot for a friend. If ypu want some lovely flowers and a yummy snack, you can't go wrong at the Carrot Barn!

There is always something fresh to find, plants to admire, and tasty food! Today we enjoyed warm, fresh apple cider donuts and they were delicious!
We took some more donuts home, along with some apple cider, some pie, and a funky looking Blue Hubbard pumpkin.

Normally I love the food. The cupcakes have been amazing. Unfortunately, the last 2 times I had them over the last few months they have been almost inedible. They have an overpowering taste of stale refrigerator air. It is more noticeable than the cupcake taste. Even worse it may be a freezer-burn type of taste with texture being hard, when they used to melt in you mouth. I live over two hours away so when I go there for me it is part of the destination. Not anymore. I have totally lost my taste for them. The prices of the food are disproportionately increased as well. I just see no reason to spend money there anymore.

The New York State Capitol is a stunning historical landmark with a renaissance-revival design that serves as the seat of government for the state. The building boasts intricate architectural details both inside and out, including features reminiscent of a French chateau. Free tours are available on weekdays, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and grandeur of this majestic structure.
This is a beautiful building inside and out. My wife and I went on one of the guided tours (The tour guide Grant was awesome!) and it was a great experience. It’s a beauty to behold!

I've always been intrigued by the Empire State Plaza, but this time I was able to tour the Capital bldg. It is impressive by size and detail. What a shame the tower was never built. The materials used and grandeur are overwhelming. The artwork very fine. I'm used to seeing portraiture of past Governors in the statehouses across America, but this one has additional paintings from around New York, and they are also beautiful. Sculptures of important and unknown figures, adorn the grand staircase that in itself, is also a work of art and reminds me of underground caverns. The war room artwork on the ceiling, leaves One speechless, as it's scale and beauty are breathtaking! One of the finest!

Very fun capital to tour. My tour guide was amazing and very informative. You are allowed to roam the building following the tour but I either didn't receive instructions on leaving or missed them so I had to wonder for a bit to find my way out. As it is a old building some cool spots on the tour are missed if you are wheelchair bound or would otherwise need to use an elevator over taking stairs

The 5 stars are for the building itself and its architecture, not the politicians inside. Gorgeous building. Almost looks like a gigantic French chateau. Majestic.

Beautiful building and pleasant tour guide, but be prepared for lots of demonstrators chanting and present at several points in the tour. It's democracy at work, but don't expect a quiet, peaceful tour. Directions and signage helping you to park and find the tour meeting point are very poor. My wife and I spent a solid hour walking around and talking to people to ultimately find the tour starting point.

Magnificent buildings housing state government offices but there is nothing “official “ about it.
Leisurely walk around Empire State Plaza is a wonderful experience. There are fountains and few ugly ducklings floating around in the water.
Lawns in front of the building are used by protesters holding demonstrations and public meetings.

What an unexpected treasure! A must see… be sure to take one of the tours if you can Monday through Friday at set times. Some parts of the building, you can only see if you’re on a tour. They actually encourage you to look around and touch the carvings. Definitely worth your time.
Having just returned from Italy, it makes this building, and all of the elaborate carvings even more impressive.

Awesome building and the free tour was well worth it. Building is quite impressive with the architecture and history of the design. You can walk around at your leisure and take pictures as there are informational signs around you can read for the history but I recommend the free tour they offer as the guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. She also made sure to point out highlights that I probably would have missed since there is so much to take in on your own.

Grew up in the next town over but never gave Albany a second thought. Partied here a few times in my late teens before joining the service. I left New York back in 2000 because I was sick of snow. This past December I returned, a bit reluctant but now I'm thankful. There is so much history here, the architecture and the small shops are incredibly intriguing. These are things I would have never recognized or appreciated in my younger years. Somehow I feel we lose our sense of culture in our struggle to survive day to day.

The New York State Museum is a vast exhibition space that showcases the history and culture of New York. It features collections that highlight the natural and cultural past of the state, including artifacts from the tragic events of 9/11 as well as a beautifully crafted carousel from the 1890s. This museum is an exceptional destination for visitors who wish to learn about New York's fascinating heritage without limitations or restrictions on their curiosity.
What a gem. It's actually quite massive - we were there for a couple of hours and only got to see half. Maybe even less. The 9/11 exhibit is detailed and quite emotional- I couldn't even take any pictures. There are exhibits on various eras that are detailed and well documented. Even if you don't want to read so much, they are wonderfully well put together. You don't have to follow any chronology, but it's set up so that you can if you want to. Really well thought out and lets you really appreciate our state. Note: its free to visit. We did not have to reserve time slots online either. The people at the front desk are super helpful. Outside, there are some wonderful memorials as well, and the space is lovely, you can sit and reflect for a few minutes.

Brought my children there just as my mother brought me 30+years ago. A few things changed, but several of the exhibits from my childhood were still there. We loved the first people's, ice age, wildlife of NY, etc. Rode on the carousel on the 4th floor too. Not too crowded on a rainy Tuesday in the summer. Finished the trip by going to the Corning Tower observation deck on the 41st floor. Parking was $10, and suggested family donation was also $10.

Very nice museum with many amazing and informative exhibits! I particularly enjoyed the ones relating to Native Americans and their way of life, along with the sobering reality of their 9/11 exhibition. It is technically free to visit, as it is by donation, but I hope everyone who visits gives what they can to keep this place afloat! Five stars all the way, a wonderful way to spend a few hours!

I go to this museum often, love to wander through the many rooms to study the exhibits. My favorite place features gemstones and minerals from the state of New York. The collection is amazing. There is a great room filled with historic 9/11 artifacts (very emotional). I do wish the exhibit covering Safe Haven and the Holocaust still existed. Such an important part of history - never again. I was told this was coming back, but that was a few years ago and I don't believe it is going to happen.Overall, wonderful place, great for all ages.

This is a fabulous museum for anyone with a wide variety of interests from history, to geology, to anthropology, and everything New York State! We spent a day here, recently, with a friend visiting from out of state on his first trip to NY. It was enjoyable being able to offer a taste of what it’s like to be a New Yorker and refreshing to be able to have so many interesting exhibits under one roof. The best part? It was free! Here we stood with our wallets in hand as our super helpful host let us know we were good to go and gave us an excellent run down of the exhibits and where each one could be found. The minerals were by far my favorite, but there’s definitely something for everyone here and a gem of a way to spend an afternoon.

I came here this past weekend for the first time. I was shocked that the admission was for free and that they only suggest giving a small donation ($5 for individual and $10 for a couple). This museum is absolutely fantastic. The place is clean, including the bathrooms and the displays are so well maintained. Some of the exhibits were closed as well as the gift shop, but I saw a good amount of displays while I was there. The one exhibit that stood out and really hit close to home since I am from Brooklyn, NY was the World Trade Center exhibit. I don't think anyone can look at those displays and not want to shed a tear about what had happened on 9/11/2001. They have some really interesting pieces, including the original flag that was on top of one of the towers. I also really enjoyed the Birds of New York exhibit. I never realized we have so many feathered friends flying all around us. Overall, this is a great museum for any age and a wonderful look into the history of New York State. I will definitely come back again!

The New York State Museum is a treasure for artistic, historical, and environmental legacies. This museum and research center captivates visitors with its diverse exhibits.
On both visits, we reveled in the sheer abundance of artifacts. The museum houses a captivating collection that spans from pre-ice age to modern times. And the cherry on top? Their Ferris wheel! It’s a whimsical touch that adds a dash of fun to the experience.
The display of kids’ artwork is heartwarming. It’s beautifully curated, showcasing the talent of young artists from upstate NY schools—including my kids’ art! As a super proud mom, I was truly impressed by how thoughtfully everything was set up. And the best part? It’s free! A place where kids can learn, explore, and have a blast.

The New York State Museum is a must see destination when visiting Albany, New York.
In March of 2022, I brought myself and my wife for a visit to the museum and we very much enjoyed our time and experience there.
The museum features numerous artifacts, both prehistoric and historic, as well as a multitude of exhibits, ranging from but not limited to the “Ancient Life Of New York” Black Capital:Harlem In The 20’s, & The Fire Engine Hall.
Both my wife and I enjoyed touring the World Trade Center:Rescue, Recovery & Response exhibit, which showcases the history of the World Trade Center & 09/11 attacks, & The Metropolis Hall exhibit which features a New York City Subway Car, Little Italy Barbershop, and a Sesame Street attraction.
If you are interested in learning about the history of New York, and exploring these exhibits, then you should definitely stop by and visit the New York State Museum!!!

I’ve been waiting a while to bring my kids here due to their ages and COVID. Coming here was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. As an adult, I still love it just as much.
I loved being able to teach my six year old about the geological history of New York State, and show him the first people known to have inhabited the area. He was most excited for the Mastodon because that was excavated right in our back yard. My four year old’s favorite part was the carousel.
It’s a great family activity on a stormy Sunday afternoon. Parking in the lot was free and easy. The suggested family donation is $10, as opposed to the $70 it would have cost for us to go to the MiSci museum in Schenectady. Of course- all museums need yo be sustainable so it’s not really a comparable expense. But if you’re looking for something that is a free activity, this is certainly a great choice.

Wonderful donation based museum. I've been coming here for years. They have really great exhibits in Dutch colonization, native American exhibits including part of a life sized long house, a mastodon and much more. The staff is really great too. I was able to schedule an appointment and look at some of the behind the scenes artifacts. A gem for upstate New York.

We especially love this museum because it shows NY history, and when my kids are studying Native Americans/Indigenous people in school, they get to see the life-size Longhouse in person!
We actually stayed here overnight years ago with the Girl Scouts twice, and it was great! Most everything is on the main floor in a horse shoe shape, and there is a carousel on the top floor that runs every 1/2 hour.
You could do about 1.5 hours or as much as 3 or 4! There is a Discovery section more geared toward little kids. We went on a Saturday around noon and parked in a lot on the side street of the building (it was free at that time). Stayed about 2 hours, including 2 carousel rides, and the two 10 year olds were happy with that. It is technically free, but donations are suggested, and there are boxes to drop donations just as you go to enter the galleries inside. Maps available at the desk.

Great free entrance museum with event space a Carousel upstairs that runs at 30 min intervals and a kids touch and explore area. Suggested donation is $10 per family and it is well worth it to keep this beauty running. The architecture alone is worth the visit but the exhibits are really well done and engaging too. Parking can be limited but its totally a great few hours.

Excellent museum depicting life in New York, past and present. You need 3-4 hours to do justice to all exhibits. They have antique cars, a carousel, fire engine hall, many neighborhoods in NYC like Harlem, the garment district, an especially touching exhibit on 9-11, birds of NY, etc. And it is all free, but please donate what you can. I plan to come back and spend a whole day here. Look at their website for parking details.
The USS SLATER is a museum located in the U.S. that offers tours of the last remaining WWII-era destroyer escort ship still afloat in the country. Visitors can explore various areas of the ship including the galley, guns, and quarters. The knowledgeable and informative guides provide insight into what life may have been like during active service on board. Unlike other boat museum ships, visitors are able to sit on and move the ship's guns around for a more interactive experience.
We took my son and his friends here today. Our tour guide, Austin, was very informative and friendly. We bought the 2 year family membership and will be heading back soon.

If you fancy yourself a history buff you must visit this wonderfully restored relic from a harder time. It's hard to imagine what these sailors had to endure, but it's slightly easier when you can put your hands on the same bulkheads and see their sleeping quarters and eating quarters and fighting stations. All that's missing is the smells and the rocking of the open sea. Easy parking right beside the ship. Nice little gift shop. But the tour guides are what add another level of enjoyment.

An absolute must activity to visit in Albany or even if you're passing by via I87. You will not regret the stop over and the superb historical guided tour of this 'tin can' destroyed from World War 2.
The folks are all volunteering to keep this place open, functional, accessible, maintained and a pleasurable experience. John did an incredible job with his presentation and the whole tour was absolutely fascinating.
The USS Slater is a very affordable tour and has free parking on site. I highly recommend the 2 hour guided tour or the 1 hour if you're pressed for time.
Please donate whatever you can to the cause for future generations.

The USS Slater is one of the most interesting museums in upstate New York . The USS Slater is the last of all 563 destroyer escort ships from WW2. It is moored in the Hudson River in the Port of Albany. The ship is 306 feet long and weighs over 1,200lbs. The ship last saw service for the Greek Navy in 1991.
A countless number of volunteer hours went into restoring the ship, and today most of the people who give and help maintain the ship are also volunteers. A video at the beginning of the tour goes over the historic legacy of the ship. The tour showcases the kitchen, sleeping quarters, engine room, ship's weapons, and officer’s quarters. The shower facilities and 60 second shower are a memorable part of the tour. The living conditions for the sailors on the ship must have been difficult. It is amazing to think they lived on this ship during the midst of WW2. You are allowed to not only see, but touch a few of these historic places on the tour.
At the end of the tour there is a nice gift shop with reasonably priced items. Downtown, Albany is located right nearby. A must see for anyone who loves history. Thank you to all the volunteers who put so much time into making this a great place to visit!

Toured the USS Slater with my family on Saturday. Our tour guide Austin, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, made the tour enjoyable and fun. You could tell he really enjoyed his job. My family and I learned so much and have now fallen in love with the Slater. Can't wait to go back!

It is incredible to think that when the volunteers received this ship from the Greek Navy in 1993, the ship was basically a rusted hull of a wreck and those guys were able to rejuvenate it to its 1945 look. I cannot imagine how much work and how much effort it took to locate spare parts and then restore the ship into top shape. I was told this was the only DE destroyer left. Very knowledgeable tour guide and very nice ship with a lot of historical artifacts.

Wasn't expecting the stem to stern tour to be what it was. This tour made me appreciate what our veterans had to endure during war and their life style on board. Literally exploring the USS Slater from top to bottom and purchased the engine room tour. This was an amazing experience and highly recommended to be on one's bucket list.

Went this summer. An amazing visit. The volunteers are doing tremendous work keeping her seaworthy and looking as original as possible.
The displays and components are the best I've seen. My friend and I went to 20 separate musuem ships and Slater rated number 1 on our favorites.
The guide was very friendly and informative. Wish I remembered his name.
Just visit. You won't be disappointed.

When we first got into the store to check in, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Our guide, Charles, was amazing and made the tour even more enjoyable. This whole experience was really once in a lifetime because you get to hear stories of WW2 and the history of the ship you are standing on. It is truly an honor to be there and be able to touch/interact with some of the objects used in WW2.
The tours are inexpensive and highly educational. You get to see what the soldiers really went through.
All in all, just book a tour, it's worth it!

We had such a great time touring the ship with Alan. He went above and beyond explaining all the history of the ship. My grandfather was on a ship just like this one and it was so neat to learn so much. Everyone on staff was so friendly. John brought out a uniform from my grandfather’s ship and we were loved seeing all the artifacts in the museum. Highly recommend the stern to stern tour.

Never been however, I pass by many times.
Not sure if we have to pay to see the battleship or making a reservation eather. If so, no way Jose. It is just me. It's not my thing. However, if war memorabilia means something for you, come and check it out. It is never crowded. Although, there isn't parking spaces in the attraction, there are plenty of parkings close by, you only have to walk a little to get there. The area is safe and as I told you before not too crowded. There are other attractions around to check them out as well. The Dutch Apple Cruising, The Jennings Landing, Corning Preserve. Also, The Albany Rowing Center, which offer rowing classes during Summer time. Also, the new Skyway. All this facilities are located at the bike trail along the Hudson River Waterfront. You can't miss it. A short walking distance from one attraction to another. All this facilities are family oriented. So, there is something to see for everyone. Living your problems, angers and bad antisocial attitudes will be a plus.
Relax and enjoy yourself.

Art and Liam where amazing guides we booked the stem to stern tour (2 hours)! We enjoyed all the stories they both had about the ship and it's crew. Art has been a tour guide for 27 years and his enthusiasm is through the roof,he truly loves his work. Liam was only 2 weeks into his training but he was very knowledgeable about the ship so when we return we hope to see Art and Liam again for another stem to stern with a large group...

Enjoyed walking around this wonderful ship with my tour guide. My guide was very knowledgeable of this beautiful piece American history, and being a former Navy Reservist made it all the more meaningful. I would highly to anyone who is considering touring this ship to be a part of the 5% that that take the "Stem to Stern" tour, as well, the 1% to visit the "Flying Bridge".

My interest in touring the USS Slater was that my Dad served on a Destroyer Escort during WWII. The tour turned out to be a much better experience than I anticipated. My main goal was to gain some idea of what it was like for my father to have lived on board a "Tin Can". I was able to achieve that goal and more. Fred was our guide and he did a GREAT job. It's really nice to meet someone who loves what they do. I would recommend touring the USS Slater to anyone who has an interest in WWII warships.
Great musical venue. But you all know that. Love coming. Parking on the west side is usually easier than the main lot. Can get crazy with big stars so stay cool.

Classic concert venue with great sight lines in the shed and a large lawn behind that. The Lawn is quite a scene and lots of fun, but can get a bit wet when it rains. A "must be experienced" place to be.

Tanglewood is just a great time - fun for all. I recommend picking a show and go have a great experience. It’s easy to get to, easy to park you car, great traffic control in and out, and clean bathrooms. Bring you own food and drink or order something their. I highly recommend this as a family outing for the kid to expose them to the arts.

Love this place!! It's a beautiful place in which to listen to cultural performances like classical music or big names like Yo Yo Ma or James Taylor. I've been to see Yo Yo Ma and Wait Wait Don't Tell me and the experience has been unforgettable for both. I highly recommend making a day of it by arriving at least a couple hours early to get good parking and to enjoy a good picnic on the lawn before the show. There are beautiful views of the Berkshires as you sit on a beautifully manicured lawn enjoying a picnic. It's fun to see what people do, as the "pregame" is a ritual only surpassed, perhaps, by grilling before a football game. It is very Bougie, as can be witnessed by peoples' charcuterie spreads, fancy picnic baskets, wine and even tables set up with table cloth and lit candelabras. They don't offer much in the way of concessions, so I highly recommend bringing a picnic to have the full experience. If there isn't time to picnic then I recommend eating an early dinner beforehand

I visited Tanglewood for Michael Tilson Thomas conducting Ives and Beethoven. I really enjoyed listening to the concert and watching them perform live Beethoven Symphony no. 9 in D minor.
I didn't get a chance to explore Tanglewood, but the campus is so beautiful. I have got some pics of the Berkshires and High Manor. I'd definitely come back for future performances.
Also, it is a good idea to arrive early to avoid traffic, and it is easier to find parking.

Any visit to Tanglewood is special. It's a calming, well conceived layout that makes attending a concert a joy. Plenty of parking, plenty of restrooms, and incredible sound no matter where you sit, in the shed, or on the lawn.
Always make this a priority in your visits to the Berkshires, and if you are a resident, take advantage of this incredible experience right in your own backyard!

Terrific place. In addition to the great music, the property is lovely! Don’t miss touring the house! Don’t be in a rush to get out fast! When the concert is over we wait in our car until the mad rush subsides..

Amazing experience! I’d be here every weekend if I lived nearby. It’s our first outdoor classical concert and it went beyond my expectations. The sound transmission was great and the performance were extraordinary. Since it’s during a hot summer day, we picked the stage seats to avoid to stay under the sun. However, it’s unnecessary because there are plenty of tree and shades. Next time, we will bring a picnic table and enjoy a refreshing beverage while enjoying the music.

If you have been to Tanglewood before, you know what a great experience it is. If this is your first time, beware there is one (or two) ways in and the same coming out. Factor extra travel time in...especially for pop acts like James Taylor. You enter on a two-lane country road! They do a great job with traffic with what they have to work with.
Geoff Hall — Google review
Overall, the actual venue is very nice & the sound quality was good (as expected).
However, the experience of getting into the venue - incredibly long lines of cars and confusion among staff regarding parking - took a lot away. Being less than a mile from the venue, it was over an hour of sitting in the car waiting to park.
Also, although you can bring beverages and food of any kind to the lawn area, the alcohol sold on premises must be consumed within the beer garden. One of the most nonsensical things I've seen in a while.
For a venue that's been around a long time, do better.
Jessica Tyrol — Google review
My only other experience here was a few years ago - 4th of July with James Taylor. It was an absolutely riveting experience but the place was absolutely mobbed (as you could imagine on a holiday that includes fireworks after the concert). So to be able to come here on a Saturday morning to see the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s rehearsal gave a whole different perspective to how beautiful the property and grounds are and to really appreciate the magic of the location during the day. The acoustics were fantastic and the facilities and grounds were super family friendly. Being able to walk around while beautiful music is playing in the background and enjoying the vistas made me appreciate this venue even more than I did the last time I was here. Should be on everyone’s list who appreciates live performances in a serene setting.

It is a magnificent venue to enjoy a wide range of artists perform in a gorgeous setting. We opted for a smaller event and we were delighted. It was just lovely to bring a picnic on the lawn and watch the the evening develop with stars above and the gentle sound of a piano recital. We will be back for more as it was our first visit. The support team with parking and guidance at the facilities was fantastic. Our performance was held at the OZAWA HALL and we could not have enjoyed a more perfect evening while the acoustics from the barn were just perfection.

My first time back to Tanglewood in 40 years.
Still a beautiful place to enjoy a concert and picnic on the lawn.
I was there to see Jackson Browne .
Beautiful weather , good food , great music and 1000's of fellow fans made for the perfect evening.
Bonus was that I was there to celebrate my 67th birthday.
The Norman Rockwell Museum in his hometown showcases a significant assortment of the artist's authentic creations and souvenirs. The renowned illustrator, born in New York City in 1894, made his debut with the Saturday Evening Post by designing its cover page illustration in 1916. Over the course of half a century, Rockwell furnished 321 more covers for the Post magazine, along with illustrations for books, posters and several other publications.
Beautiful property although I didn't walk the grounds because it was windy and cold. The museum was fantastic. Mr. Rockwell's ability to capture the emotions and tell a story with his illustrations is incredible. Well worth the trip.

This is a great museum to get a better understanding and appreciation for Norman Rockwell, who’s classic artwork reflects the best of American culture through the years. The museum includes a lot of original classic paintings by Rockwell including the four freedom paintings. There’s plenty of information about his life and influences as well as relatively unknown works of art by Rockwell displayed. There’s also hundreds of Saturday Evening Post covers from Rockwell throughout the years. Unfortunately his personal studio was closed when I went, but I was able to walk around it and look through the windows. The whole experience was very good and I would totally recommend visiting the Norman Rockwell Museum.
Frenite — Google review
It very much exceeded my expectations. Lots of excellent magazine covers and paintings of all kinds. Rockwell was not by any means an unthinking 20th Century American. He saw the world with a sharp eye. That being said, the museum insists on "contextualizing" some of his works. Why? He painted what he saw. P.s., the magazine cover in which the Saturday Evening Post announced a series of articles by Benito Mussolini was ... interesting. My, what hindsight might say.
Dustin Hecker — Google review
This was our first time visiting and we honestly did not know what to expect. I thought I was somewhat familiar with several of his cover illustrations. We were surprised at just how many covers were familiar.
This was an amazing museum really. Not many people used the interactive app that gives you recorded background on the subjects and work but I strongly recommend this. It’s much better than simply reading the plaques. We’ve been to many museums all over the world and cities, we always go for the audio tour. Short of having a human guide this is the most immersive way to optimize your experience. So many people just walk around looking bored after some initial excitement, but take my advice here. And remember to take earbuds along.
Also watch the short movie on the lower level to see the tone on Rockwell. I really enjoyed the amazing original covers, imagining a simpler, honest, small town…a kind of naive American culture from the past. I realize this wasn’t necessarily the case, but it’s a nice utopian place to allow your mind to wander to occasionally, even if just for a few hours.
As you can tell I highly recommend the museum and appreciate the experience. An excellent Museum overall!

I've always wanted to go to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Today I finally went. It was a spectacular display of all his work. We even paid a little extra ($10) to go into his art studio. The woman there was so knowledgeable about everything Norman. So happy I finally got to go.

Great museum with all the art work very well organized and displayed in a methodical manner. They have 2 floors where the paintings are displayed. There is a documentary that is shown which is also great since it talks abt the life of Norman and his technique. The gift shop has a lot of cool gifts at reasonable prices. When I went the tickets were all sold out online but I was able to secure the tickets nevertheless. There is a walking trail on the grounds of the museum which is very nice.

A well-curated and organized museum showcasing works by the American icon of commercial illustration. The museum is located on ample grounds with lots of space to walk. There's plenty of parking as well as charging stations for electric cars.
The experience consists of the museum building and a detached building hosting the original Norman Rockwell art studio which is only available via a guided tour.
The movie room downstairs showcases hundreds of magazine covers created by Norman Rockwell as well as playing a documentary on the artist which allows you to learn a lot about the story and life of Rockwell.
There are bathrooms available both on the ground floor and the lower level.

An outing that captivated our family of four (a teen and tween included) was a trip to the Norman Rockwell museum in Stockbridge MA. Rockwell lived in this town for the last 25 years of his life and an enormous collection of his works are now housed in this beautiful museum.
We didn’t know much about Rockwell except that we delight in one of his paintings that sits on our piano at home, in plate form. I found this plate at a thrift store when we first moved to the US and liked the image of the little girl putting on lipstick. I’ve since learned that this was one of his works from the 20s.
Wandering through the gallery of his Saturday Evening Post covers is truly a joyful experience! His ability to paint human expression with such detail is amazing. It is also quite something to ponder on the times that he was painting in - the Great Depression and then World War 2, and to notice how he kept subjects light for the sanity of all. Some of his most famous paintings of this period were The Four Freedoms and these were used to raise a significant contribution towards war bonds. It was wonderful learning more about those from one of the guides who was walking around.
We also very much enjoyed the exhibition by artist Nora Krug also on display at the time (April 23) and ended up buying her two books.
What an amazing experience and one that will stay with us always. If you have the opportunity to visit I’m sure you will find you feel the same.

Amazing man and amazing art.
He could have gone any direction but chose illustrations.
323 Saturday evening post covers.
This museum is not overwhelming, but still allows you to see Rockwell's various sides and social commentary.
You could go back once a month and still not take in all he had to say.
This place is a national treasure.

A joyful experience. On display are a host of Rockwell paintings and Saturday Evening Post covers. Each piece has an informative plaque with insights into the origin and use of the piece. I enjoyed seeing the process by which he created his paintings and sketches.
Also on the grounds is his studio which was relocated from the nearby site of his Stockbridge home. You can almost feel the creative process come alive.
Some site photos plus a few of the pieces in the museum are included.

A beautiful sunny summer day relaxing enjoying the beautiful artwork of our own American artist, Norman Rockwell. Along with featured artists, the afternoon was fascinating and educational. Lunch on the terrace was perfect! Nestled in the Berkshires, you listen to the songs of birds and the occasional lone whistle of a passing train. I took home a cute souvenir from their well-stocked gift shop. Enjoy!

I was a fantastic museum of a wonderful person situated on a beautiful site. It had everything you wanted to know about the man and his work as an illustrator of American life as seen in magazines, newspapers and his paintings.
See & hear his life as told by one of his son's in a video & guided tours. See how anyone can be manipulated by others to serve an agenda and how an artist begins his work for the greater good through an idea.

A truly wonderful museum devoted to the work of a great American artist, with galleries available for special traveling exhibits of other renowned artists. It is one of those places where people can come back to over the course of many years to appreciate Norman Rockwell’s prodigious creativity and draw inspiration from it. If you want to better understand a period when America was truly a great nation (not without serious problems, but empowered to tackle them), this is a place for that reflection. PS - If you want to visit Norman Rockwell’s Studio (separate building on the museum grounds) ask specifically for a ticket and hours for the tour. Post-pandemic, ticket required.

Not cheap ($22 adults) but an incredible museum for lovers of art, realism, Rockwell and US history! Start downstairs with a 12 minute video on his life. We purchased two tickets for the museum and only after trying to enter were told that all the actual exhibits were closed off to the public for an event and that the artist studio was closed as well. So we paid $20 each to see a basement of recreated artwork while the originals were above us. We were told we could enjoy the rest of the open museum by taking the elevator from the basement to the 1st floor. It took us to the gift shop.... We felt the basement exhibits were nice but that it was not right to charge us for full admission without advising us that multiple areas were closed to the public, yet had other people going in and looking around.

This was a great experience! I loved how close the paintings were. This made it easier to see. I also liked the tour. My connection with Norman Rockwell began in childhood, paging through a book of his works and sipping Shirley Temples at "Rockwells" with my family. Recently, I revisited his world at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the experience was as enriching as ever. The museum's scheduling system ensured a safe and intimate visit, allowing me to appreciate Rockwell's artistry up close. His ability to capture everyday moments with profound depth left me in awe. One particular piece, reminiscent of a Saturday Evening Post cover, held a special significance for me. Seeing it in person reaffirmed the power of Rockwell's art to inspire and move me. It was a day filled with serendipity and reflection, reminding me of the enduring impact of art on our lives.

We did the mid mountain tour because the skyline tour was closed since there was still a bit of snow on the trail up. Brandon and Zack were awesome! Could not have felt any safer with them! They explained everything in detail and in a way that you could understand everything, but with a little added humor to ease your nerves. Hunter Mountain Resort is a convenient option for those seeking to stay close to civilization. The accommodations consist of unpretentious apartments equipped with kitchens and fireplaces, as well as a ski school. The mountain boasts various terrains, with the majority being intermediate and above, making it stand out from other local mountains that are less challenging. However, there are still ample opportunities for beginners to learn. Additionally, the lodge provides all necessary amenities typical of resorts in the area.
Another of my favorite mountains in the NYC area. The drive is worth it. This mountain is amazing. The views are great. And the waffles are delicious. I have to come here at least once every season. Pretty high up in elevation so it’s freezing but that’s the point. It’s best to get here as soon as it opens so you have the whole day to snowboard because they close before night.

Very limited options for food…

Good at making snow, slopes well groomed. Terrain Park was, interesting... Definitely not the best for beginners and also jumps weren't very uniform and the park pretty much had no flow to it. Food was okay, extremely over priced but I'll blame that on Vail buying them out. When I went, not enough lifts to spread people out effectively, also the online reports did not reflect which lifts and trails were open. Overall still a fun day on the snow, I recommend sharpening your edges before you go though.

Great mountain for it's proximity to civilization. The lodge itself is good and has all the typical resources you would need. The mountain offers plenty of diverse terrain. Most of the mountain is intermediate and above (blues and blacks) which is great for the area because that is not often the case at other local mountains. There is still plenty of area for new folks to learn though.

Hunter mountain is definitely for skiers and snowboarders who have been doing them for awhile. I went with 6 of my friends we were all beginners. I must say that the slopes were not crowded and for the most part it is clean. They have a nice rental crew inside. The lady where you get the boots and Timothy. I liked them both because they were so kind and accommodating.
The place has a cafeteria. I did not expect anything different from the selections. Typical burgers, fries, chili, and roast beef sandwich. They are pricey. A chili bowl cost me almost $13. So I suggest be prepared for that. Other than that, my friends and I had a great experience! Will definitely come back but would have to lodge as it was 2 hours away from where we live.

This is a summer review and has nothing to do with their winter/skiing.
Hunter Mountain’s site brags in large letters” WE ARE OPEN FOR SUMMER”. are they though? I was a huge fan of area summer visits and always going to Hunter. The best zip lines and sky rides around! But the Zip lines are defunct and sky rides are only running 3 days a week?! (Not the days we were here)
So we explored the very close by Windham Mountain. Great sky rides and they offer hiking and mountain bike trails from the top of the mountain! Incredible set up. Insanely fun!

Went for the fall foliage ski lift. Arrived at 2:30 pm. Waited in line for 70 minutes before being able to get on the lift (so many empty lifts being sent up). If you have issues standing for long periods of time, this may not be difficult. It was about 8 minutes up and 8 minutes back.

A great day on the slopes. For me as an advanced skier I had a great time. Lifts were not super crowded and trails were still in decent shape even in the afternoon. My husband was in the beginner area using the magic carpet and he said it would take him 30 mins to get on the carpet. I tried to get him on one of the chairs but he was not ready.

Fairly busy, but not too bad. One downside is that their lifts work until 4pm. I don't know if this is every day or just on holidays, like Jan 1st.
Rented equipment is as good as it can get. Staff is nice and helpful. Food is good.
One great thing about this place is that they are high enough to be able to make snow when there is snow anywhere 50 miles around.

Had a really great time skiing at hunter mountain. I’d recommend you to buy the epic day pass in advance, so you can easily pick when to visit the resort. Check the weather before you go, and dress accordingly. Sometimes it’s not easy to find lodging, so I booked a room at holiday inn, just 30 mins away from the resort.
Jorge Madrid — Google review
Enjoyed the weekday skiing. Barely anyone there. Which made the mountain more enjoyable since a lot of trails weren't open. A could of the trails probably should have been closed, just because a could portions had mud and rock to get around. The lodge was comfortable and good food choices. I wish the grilled cheese sandwich wasn't just a weekend thing.
Matty — Google review
Expect big crowds and 2-3 runs an hour max. on busy weekends if you use the main lift. During the week it is much better. The mountain is great if there is natural snow, if it is a bare winter then don't expect all of the trails to be open. Hunter and Windham are comparable offerings and the better mountains to ride if you are located between NYC and Albany. Food is ok, around $20 for a burger and fries.

I've only ever been here during the summer so it's pretty dead. But I appreciate that they allow use of the ski lift. My favorite thing to do! I bet this place is amazing during it's peak season

We stopped by Hunter Mountain during their Oktoberfest in early October 2023. It was a pleasant little festival, but not as big as the website and other promotional material led us to believe. It's hard to judge the resort itself when one has only visited it out of season, but the lodge building seemed a bit run-down and was suffering from numerous leaks in the roof which were still dripping a couple days after the most recent rain. The facilities within, however, did seem quite good.
Bob Schroeck — Google review
The lodge was beautiful!
The employees were nice and very helpful.
I think the rooms, or at least the one we had, need some updating.
We had a studio. It was nicer than we thought from the online pictures.
However, they don't, have a refrigerator or microwave. I didn't mind no microwave, but we had leftover food and cold drinks.
We had freezer packs, but they wouldn't hold them in the freezer downstairs. I have never had a problem with any other hotel as far as that.
They had a double bed!
When was the last time they had a double bed and not a queen for 2 people?
There was also a huge cabinet for a small TV.
Who uses entertainment centers anymore?
Needless to say, they need some updates.
The room otherwise was clean and served it's purpose for just one night.
The atmosphere downstairs, the surrounding areas, and the staff made up for what was lacking.

Hunter Mountain Resort in NY is a fantastic destination for all seasons! The skiing and snowboarding in winter are exhilarating, offering thrilling slopes for all skill levels. In the warmer months, the scenic beauty and outdoor activities like hiking and zip-lining make it a perfect getaway. The resort's amenities and hospitality enhance the overall experience. Highly recommend for an adventurous and enjoyable retreat!

Our first visit to Hunter Mountain was absolutely amazing and definitely worth repeating. Skiing was awesome and our stay at the resort was perfect. Ski in ski out was very convenient and so was the ski storage. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The deluxe studio had everything we needed. We had a great experience.

Snow Tubing here is so much fun! The lanes are fast and fun. My only issue was the double tubing policy. You will need special permissions to use it. If you have young kids that you want to ride with, please 🙏 check their policy!
Greg Farrell — Google review
First time here for snow tubing and we had a blast. Our tubing time was from 3-5pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded but there was a line to the top of the slope. Took a few minutes to reach the top but once we got there it sure was exciting. Hill didn’t appear steep from the bottom and in reality I guess it wasn’t but boy did you fly down the hill. It was a little scary at first but after a while it was just fun. We will definitely be back next year. Only negative aspect was the waffles we ordered from the cafe. Tasted terrible and overpriced for what is was. Other than that our tubing experience was great!

Their customer service is garbage! I have called numerous times to try and find out pricing/information for adjusting ski bindings and have been directed off site every time. Do they not have anyone at the phones whatsoever?
Not to mention conditions are usually an ice pit. Perfect timing because I am now strongly considering switching to an IKON pass after this experience.

Trails were groomed great for so late in the season but the day was ruined when we stopped for lunch and drinks at the main bar. The female bartender was super rude and ignored us after giving us our first round of drinks. I would maybe recommend bringing your own booze and just go to the food hall instead of wasting your time at the main bar. Wasted over an hour waiting for a quick bite :/
Jazmine Morales — Google review
Pros:
1. Received lift tickets quickly. Pop up canopies were set up near the main ticketing area for online lift ticket sales.
2. A big thank you to Jeff, who resolved an issue we had at The Marketplace.
3. The ski conditions were better than expected. Recent snowfall and the snowmaking machines were running as well.
Cons:
1. Getting on and off the chairlifts were dicey at times because the seats are too close to the ground. And the loader, referring to the staff member who usually holds the chair as you sit down, was not doing such a great job, as the chair would hit us with force because they were just looking on.
2. Vail Resorts, the parent company of Hunter Mountain, needs to make capital improvements, especially to chair lift safety and capacity.
3. Get your runs in early! The chair lift lines are very long by 12:00pm. Hunter Mountain's proximity to the NYC metro area makes it so. Bring your own equipment if you can. It saves tons of time on the rental line.

January 27, 2024. We came for snow tubing. The ticket girl gave us a great attitude by ignoring what I kindly said. Magic carpet(belt to take people up to the hill) stopped working in the middle of our first climb. Snow was not slippery at all, hardly reaching in the middle of the track. We were able to slide twice in an hour and my son didn’t even want to do it again because it was hard for him to walk all the way up there and it was not even fun tubing. Plus waiting 20 mins for it. Muddy, watery ice everywhere. Not enjoyable at all. Overall very bad experience. I will not come back or recommend snow tubing here.

Hunter is a nice place. But Kaatskill Flyer normally has too much people. If that is the case, get to the peak & go to the West Face if you are an expert and North face is you want something easier. Both are accessible via Belt Parkway. If weather doesn't permit Kaatskill Flyer to open, don't panic, and use Broadway, and then F lift to get to the top. If all/most of the trails are open (at least one on each face) it's about the best you can get on the east coast in the US.
Based on Chinese & Japanese design principles, the garden features paths, waterfalls & a large lake.
I’m making it my mission to get the average Capital District resident to at the very least have heard of this Magical place! 🧚♀️ It’s considered to be one of the 5 most beautiful gardens IN THE WORLD! 🌍 And yet not one person I have ever mentioned Inisfree to has ever even heard of it. The photos don’t do it justice. I’ve been there in Early Spring, mid Summer and in the Fall. Each season delivered it’s own beauty with the Native plants, bushes and Trees. Definitely bring a picnic!

Have come here for years. Always a lovely experience.
Only flaw is the fee, which has risen in just the last 5 years. It was free, then $7 a car, now it is $10 per person!! Pretty ridiculous. If you’re a family of 5 that’s $50 just to take a walk.
Otherwise, this is a beautiful place. Pack a picnic and stay awhile for the price! The view is worth the time. And bring a bug repellent. You’ll need it.

A very simple garden that brings back some memories while in Japan.
Luckily they do provide a map but they don't post any trail markers so the map is virtually useless. Trying to figure out what is what is a guessing game.
It's definitely a nice place to walk around and disconnect.

Lovely gardens and landscape, nice place for a visit, but it was a little bit crowded in places. It would be wonderful if you could remind people to keep their and their kids voices down a bit, listening to screaming children ruined the experience a bit. It was nice to have seats placed around the space, thank you.

Great place a good walk for sure...glad we went.

It's a big garden to explore. Very peaceful and you feel serenity right away while you are walking around. During our visit, not too many people but still gotta wait for people to leave a certain spot when taking pics on specific angle. It's $10pp for the entrance fee via online, spacious parking spot. You have to drive very deep inside to get to the entrance. At one point I thought I got lost, took my parents with me during my visit. We all loved the place and we brought some food with us to eat there for lunch. There are benches for picnics in certain areas, not all areas you can eat at. Recommended to visit if you are in the area.

Surprising find on our way up to Vermont. A bit costly at $10 a person for the visit, but it was a beautiful place to walk around for an hour. However the brochure described it as “one of the 10 best gardens in the world,” which seemed a bit far fetched and could not be backed up online with more research. I would recommend it though

9.16.22 We drove 1.5 hours from CT, paid the $10pp entrance fee, and absolutely loved thus tranquil, beautiful area. Without reading much about this place I assumed by garden, it would be a floral garden. That it is not. Instead, all around this beautiful pond, you'll find unique trees, Asian inspired rock, plant gardens. The walk around the pond itself is probably just a mile long. You'll find many benches and spots to sit and relax and enjoy the serenity. It's great for all ages. It's especially great for painters and photographers. Enjoy.

I booked on line,I arrived and it's still not crowded Saturday AM, the ladies at the welcome booth were super friendly and explained the different paths you can take , they did offer a free guided tour,at 10:30, but I declined. Grounds were beautifully kept, quiet, the walk took about an hour and a half,so much to see the bridge over the water was awesome. I'm going back in the fall , as I think with all the trees it's going to be stunning. Highly recommend this place.

Dia Beacon is a massive museum housed in an old factory that showcases contemporary works by renowned artists with plenty of natural light. The collection spans from the 1960s to today and features some of the biggest names in modern art. Its galleries are beautifully spacious, allowing each piece to stand on its own without being overshadowed by others nearby. The attentive gallery staff stay out of the way, ensuring that visitors can fully immerse themselves in the artworks' experience.
We are members and spent many wonderful weekend days visiting all year long. The setting is beautiful and the permanent collection always engages. During the pandemic, the museum was rightfully very cautious and because of the size, social distancing was easy. Sometimes the staff is discourteous and are overly aggressive with the visitors. There is a nice cafe and wonderful bookstore. It is one of my favorite places I return to often. Plan ahead because it is sometimes busy. Any season, Dia is a magical place for art lovers.

Very open & airy space. There were a few levels & each exhibit had an info-sheet to describe the artist and the work.
The basement had a very unsettling exhibit which felt on brand for the energy of the space.
Cool place to check out for large-scale modern art.

Spacious, airy industrial building, a great place to get lost for an afternoon. Affordable admission, discounts available for students, children, seniors, disabled visitors, and residents of Newburgh and Beacon. Best enjoyed by modern and contemporary art enthusiasts, more for teens and adults than children. Allow about 2 hours to see everything at a comfortable pace. Prepare for mostly walking, maybe some climbing or bending depending on the current installations you choose to interact with. You can walk right up to the installations, so security personnel supervise each area. Not crowded at all. Limited parking, get there early! A lovely museum, I hope to see their other locations.

We started the day at 9:30 am with a pre-opening tour of Michael Heizer’s epic piece North, East, South and West. We were able to go behind the glass barrier and stare into the cavernous works that go down 20 feet. This gave us goosebumps and a visceral feeling of imminent danger. Minimalist art is about generating a feeling in a viewer; it is a very different experience from “realistic art.” We highly recommend taking the Heizer tour which has to be pre-booked as well as the general tour at 12:00 and 13:30. Our guide did a marvelous job of getting her audience to “experience” each work. The awesome surprise of the visit was experiencing Dan Flavin’s fluorescent bulb series. What was truly remarkable was that the colors of the fluorescent bulbs were different when photographed with an iPhone. For example in the photos below the white triangle had yellow and green in the photo. Why? If Dan Flavin, the artist was still alive, what would he make of this phenomenon I wonder? We also recommend seeing the Louise Bourgeois Spider, which evokes raw emotions. There is a cafe with outdoor seating.

The front of the museum is deceiving to the actual size of its interior space. It's very spacious and it has have many individual space for different art installations grouped by artists. The descriptions of each installation and its artist are printed on a laminated letter size paper and stored in a wall mounted holder. Which is kind of hard to read on some art pieces, since each art priece are assigned numbers on the laminated paper but not on the actual piece. Some installations are larger than life and very impressive, while others are a bit underwhelming. While we were there the basement exhibition was closed.😞 If you are a Stranger's things fans, you might find some installation intriguing.

Loved my visit here. For me seeing some of the most important art works live was a dream come true. Beautiful spacious galleries with lots of space between art works allowing everything to stand on its own, in its own space. Nothing over shadowed by another art work too close. And the gallery staff /guards are attentive and stay out of the way in no way interfering with the viewers experience of the work. The building and galleries themselves are wonderful to be in. Be sure and hit the bookshop; well worth a visit if you are an art book reader.

Beautiful space. I feel the art was a little too “conceptual“ to be fully enjoyed as art, but did make it fun for us to make fun of. Favorite pieces to laugh at include a room of art with walls painted white, this was the art piece. I mean come on. Another one painting the date. In various fonts. Not impressed but whatever. Funny to laugh at.

There is a big variety of art here, so many unique pieces! I recommend reading the cards at every exhibit (or scanning the QR code), because it makes the art even more amazing. I went on a Sunday mid-morning and it wasn't too busy and I was able to see everything easily throughout the space. There are no bags allowed, but there is a free bag check that I had no issues with. There's also a cute cafe and outdoor seating area!

If you're an artist enthusiast, go.
If you're not, you may want to sit this one out. It was interesting to say the least. I think everyone's perspective on art is different so I could appreciate some of the concepts but most things I just didn't understand. Go at your discretion.

Truly a fantastic museum. Most exhibits have no physical barriers, so you’re able to connect with, though not touch, all the art. We picked a beautiful Saturday afternoon to spend a few hours and were rewarded with fantastic light. It never got crowded. Can’t wait to go back!

Expansive museum filled with large-format artwork, accessible by train or car from NYC. Never too crowded, though advance reservations are suggested.
Due to the proximity to the train station, this can make for a particularly accessible day trip for NYC residents or tourists to see artwork that physically could not fit in most museums in Manhattan.
The refurbished factory is absolutely stunning with unique architecture and plenty of natural light pouring through the skylights throughout the space.

Modern / post-modern art is hit or miss for me. I like Renaissance and Impressionist art more as I can grasp the concept better. While there are haunting pieces at Dia along with great play of light and dimension, I found a substantial number of artworks somewhat underwhelming. There’s literally one exhibit that’s just an empty room and I get that the concept comes with a narrative. Photos posted here are ones that I liked.
Buddhist monastery set on 225 serene acres featuring a lake, pavilions & statues, open for tours.
A Great outdoor and spiritual place to visit. The largest Buddha I know of in NY. All in a gorgeous outdoor, tree lined setting. On a quiet day a herd of deer may pass. Very peaceful, healthy setting. To walk inside the temple you must take off your shoes. At this time you can not walk inside without a mask. There are walking bridges, pagoda style pergolas, picnic tables. It is a great place to spend a few hours of meditation, inner peace, or plain picnicking. Just remember to respect the Buddhist setting.

Over 900+ reviews only one mention of dogs being allowed. Dogs are allowed on the temple grounds, of course not allowed in the buildings. Be cognizant of where your dog does his or her business. Keep off statues and scared areas. Closed during the winter months except for certain days, check the website or call to double check. Vegetarian lunch is usually available whenever the temple is open (starts 11:30am). The meal is $7 per person as donation and tastes great. Would recommend stopping if in the area or around the Chinese New Year holidays.

A place filled with peace calm and beauty. Very recommendable place to relax enjoy and be present. The entrance of the temple from the road is marked by a White Buddha. The driveway leads you to the parking lot and to the main entrance of the complex which is made by 4 buildings. The entrance is marked by 2 stone lions and on each side of the entrance there are different representations of Buddha with different attributes. You will be walking on a beautiful dirt path where 2 stone elephants will greet you. There is a huge bell on the right side and a huge drum both of them covered by a red structure and only the monks have access to. The main Buddha inside is amazing. You must leave your shoes and go inside the hall either barefooted or wearing the sandals they provide outside the temple for you to use. There is no cost but please be mindful to leave a donation.
There are 2 temples the main Buddha and the Kuan Yin . This last one, has no access for visitors. There is a gift shop that gets really busy, a cafeteteria which serves food from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm . The food is made by the monks and I think it is a good way to help them maintain the temple. There are seats outside the cafeteria and the bathrooms are found underneath the main temple and the only access to them is from outside. There are wooden paths connecting the buildings which are really beautiful and helpful for people with walking disabilities in case they cannot go upstairs.
Before you leave, don't forget to see the lake where you will find a beautiful image of KuanYin . The whole area is a place of peace !

The Bruce Museum is a museum that showcases both permanent and rotating exhibits on art, science, and natural history. Originally owned by wealthy textile merchant Robert Moffat Bruce, the museum was bequeathed to the town of Greenwich in 1908. Currently undergoing construction with an expected completion date of May 2023, the part of the museum that is accessible boasts impressive displays featuring stuffed animals alongside live fish and turtles.
Took my little daughter here and she absolutely loved it. Mostly art exhibits with a small science section. Everything is clean and well-done. We’ll be returning for sure!

I heard it is a 67 million museum, but it looks pretty small (only has one floor for the exhibition). The security here is horrible. My wife, me and 2 kids went to the exhibition. The security guards keep following us, starring at us, and keep reminds us we need to hold hands with our kids, actually they are doing the same thing for other customers too. They just don't want us to be there. I spent almost $60 for the day as customer but they treat us like we are not welcomed, I cannot even enjoy the exhibitions. I have been to Los Angeles The Getty museum. It is a world class museum and it is even free. I never been to a art museum treat customer like that, I only have 2 stars because we do enjoy the sea animals sections.

The ongoing exhibition on Connecticut Modern, Monsters & Mermaids, Then is Now and Robert Motherwell and Multiplicity were well presented. The cafe is great for a quick bite. The gift shop has a good collection of souvenirs. A tip for parents : across the museum is a beautiful kiddie playground.

They have security guys who follow you around and harass you the entire visit. I have two children who are very well behaved, they are quite and respectful. They watched my kids intently. It was a very uncomfortable experience. I couldn't get out of there soon enough. It is such a shame that they made the experience so uncomfortable. My children have been to so many art museums, but they even told me that they don't ever want to go back to that one. The men were so mean and wouldn't stop staring at them. They were behaving that way with every family that was there. They were very intrusive and made the experience terrible. I would not recommend going there!!! There are definitely better ways to handle the situation... If you are worried about children potentially touching the exhibits then they need to put up a rope pathway that keeps people form getting close to the exhibits... Instead of having people aggressively follow you throughout the museum. It felt very hostile and very uncomfortable.

Great art museum in Greenwich. I came here for the exhibition "Connecticut Modern: Art, Design, and the Avant-Garde, 1930-1960," which did not disappoint. Connecticut was quite the hotbed of modern art and architecture during that period due to its proximity to New York City, the availability of affordable rural properties, and also as a result of World War II and authoritarianism in Europe which forced prominent European artists into exile. Some great artworks by the likes of Alexander Calder, André Masson, Charles Sheeler, Louise Bourgeois, Josef Albers, Arshile Gorky, Yves Tanguy, and others. The rest of the museum had some treasures too including metal sculptures by Harry Bertoia and paintings by the likes of Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Helen Frankenthaler, Elaine de Kooning, and others. The museum building by architects EskewDumezRipple is also worth a visit.

Free on Tuesdays. Best deal in town. The kids area and animal exhibits are where we spend most of our time. The other exhibits are great too. Loved the butt cheek paintings. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Coat room is exceptional. Playground across the street is two thumbs up even on a rainy day and there are bathrooms there too! Very loud door.

Beautiful and friendly museum with multiple exhibitions. We happened to stop by on the one year anniversary of their expansion. I must give a shout out to the staff, everyone we met went out of their way to engage in conversation, especially the guards in the exhibition spaces. There was a sense of commeraderie and excitement that was contagious!
Well done.

I am impressed. This is a great place to enjoy viewing beautiful art pieces and scientific exhibits at the same time. Some areas are very fun and educational for kids as there are a lot of interactive exhibits, including a radioactivity meter, digital microscope, mineral gallery, a lot of touch screens, and others. The museum building itself is very beautiful, modern, and hi-tech.

Small little gem in Greenwich. I went to experience Hockney’s work and did not regret it. The minerals exhibit was absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend everyone to check it out.
The ladies in the store were very friendly and I was surprised by how knowledgeable and passionate some of the security staff were.
The cafe is super overpriced but good food and good service.

The collection is interesting and well put out, even if the museum isn't big you can find something for everyone.
I liked the diversity in exposition between the art pieces. Will definitely stop by again when I am in town.

Willowbrook outdoor shopping center hosts a wide range of designer fashion brands, tech suppliers and chain restaurants. Crowded on weekends, weekdays are preferable for a quieter shopping experience amid the pandemic. The mall sees a constant flux of stores opening and closing. Electric car chargers are available in the parking lot along with handicap parking spots near the old Sears entrance. However, more handicap spots should be allocated near the main entrance.
This is by far our favorite Dave & Buster's location yet. Everyone we have interacted with at the front desk has been kind, courteous, and happy to help from the moment we signed up for our first card . While speaking to the lovely woman at the desk on 3/21/22 we noticed there was a scrolling marquee that said something big was coming in 6 days. Excited to find out what that is.
*Handicap accessible. I should note that there is an elevator immediately upon entering that will take anyone up to the game floor; I just forgot to take a picture of it.
We are claw machine junkies. They have a giant claw machine and a smaller double machine; both always well stocked. Everytime we go, there seems to be something new in there. They seem to place the new stuff on top of the previous prizes; I wish they mixed them together but that's personal preference because I missed out on one plush out of a set. One day Batgirl plushie, one day.
They seem to reset the high scores often unless the machines are set to automatically do it. Gives everyone a fighting chance for game bonuses. It's set up to help everyone succeed in ticket wins. Nice to see a business model that doesn't stifle wins.
The prize area is also well stocked. I did a video yesterday and when we went to redeem some of our prizes, they were stocking it even more. Hope to see continued variety in the prize area.
Wholesome fun place for people of all ages.

Really nice mall with all the stores one could need. Pretty much almost all the stuff you’d need when coming to a mall, this mall has, so you’d be hard pressed to not find what you’re looking for. Food court has most of the staple options you’d expect from a mall. The layout is nice and concise and easy to find what you need. Always busy, especially on weekends, and during the summer! Even on weird off times like middle of the day on a week day, it’s surprisingly busy. Overall great mall, wirh great bus connections.. and it’s my go to mall for hangouts and clothes shopping.

There are electric car chargers in the parking lot.
There should be more handicap parking spots near the main entrance. 🅿️ There are some handicap parking spots near the old Sears entrance, and Sears is not there anymore.
There is a good variety of places to eat. 🍕

Nice mall. Good for shopping at mid to semi-high end brands. Plenty of options to choose from at food court. It has a cinema aswell other than shopping centers. Sephora and M.A.C cosmetics. 2 hours were not enough to spend time here.
It was packed on Sunday but I’m sure it has a lot to do with Thanksgiving holidays.

This is the best mall in North Jersey. Better than Garden State, better than American Dream!! Yes it's smaller but who wants to walk 200 miles getting to stores. It's very convenient and has everything you need. The new Cuban Pete's in the mall is soooo good. The food I had was delicious. So glad for that addition.

Visited first time. Bit small than expected but It does have majority of the stores like apple, H&M, GAP, Bloomingdale’s & Macy’s. Fairly large food court with multiple options. Ample amount of parking space. Heard they have a children activity centre but did get time to explore that. Overall its decent mall.
Saurabh Tripathi — Google review
Always a pleasure to go there. Although pretty crowded on weekends, but if you can afford a weekday visit - you'll find yourself shopping in solitude. Which is good, considering the pandemic and it gives you more time to browse the selections. Interesting how some stores close and disappear, with new ones popping up here and there. Worth spending some quality time.

Willowbrook Mall is one shopping mall that has literally something for everyone. With over 150 stores spread over one and a partial floors, it has stores on the high end, and popular specialty stores that appeal to all ages, adults, teens, and children. They also have a top notch food court as well, featuring such always popular chains as Wendy's, Popeyes, Sarku Japan, China Wok, Charley's Cheese steaks, Nathan's, Taco Bell, and Cinnabon. Add to the convenience of 13 bus routes going in, and its' location at the confluence of three major highways, 23, 46, and 80, and you have one major setup.
Burt Shoobs — Google review
It's pretty busy. There's lots to do. Plenty of designer and brand shops. Whatever you're looking for is likely to be here. Nice and clean. Food court's got a ton of options. As hectic as it gets, people are usually polite and courteous (I say this as an employee).

Great mall for everything you could think of and even far better than Short Hills for everyday stores. Food court is top notch and although it's a little difficult to drive through the parking lots, there is almost always a spot available for parking. Good array of stores and options to shop -- will definitely go back!

NEW UPDATE, the mall when you enter smells like burnt wire, so double check that, they have a decent selection of stores, Bloomies, Macy's, JCPenney, which I don't think it's connected to the mall..

Overall great store selection and food court selection however, the mall itself is so dirty. It looks like it’s never swept, mopped or cleaned.

Willowbrook Mall stands out as a vibrant hub of brick-and-mortar shopping in New Jersey, defying the trend of declining mall traffic. There's something special about this place – maybe it's the selection of stores, the convenient location, or just a certain charm that's hard to put into words. It's bustling with activity, which makes for a lively shopping experience. The large food court and the variety of shopping options cater to all tastes and needs. It's refreshing to see a mall that still draws a crowd and offers a great shopping experience. Definitely a go-to spot for those who enjoy the traditional mall atmosphere.

The Met Cloisters is a museum located in Fort Tryon Park dedicated to medieval art. It features paintings, sculpture and other artifacts from various European monasteries and abbeys that were imported to the United States in the early 1900s. The museum is an excellent place to view medieval art and architecture in one place.
Good and different experience if you're looking for something out of the ordinary in NYC. It's long enough of a drive that you'll feel like you're leaving the city if you're coming from Brooklyn or Downtown.
The collection and the grounds are magnificent, there is a Medieval focus here at the Cloisters however so be aware it is only Medieval pieces.
If you find your way onto any of the outdoor spaces you'll find beautiful surrounding views.

The Cloisters are like different court yards in the building it’s really cool! What a cool place to spend the day! It’s pay what you want to get in.
The Met Cloisters is a really fun day time activity when your uptown in Manhattan or if your taking a trip to New York City. It’s more unique then a regular museum because of the different rooms/areas in the museum.
They have the history, drawing classes, drinks and food also it’s just a beautiful outdoorsy museum and it’s in a beautiful park.

Great Date spot! Also, its one of the most unreal places I ever visited; I felt like I traveled back in time and I was in a secluded Monastery. The Gardens are Beautiful and if you love the medieval time period you will appreciate all the artifacts and architecture.
It’s definitely worth checking it out! This is the right place for you if you are the kind of person who enjoys selfies or reading books in out of ordinary locations.

What a sanctuary in Manhattan! Lovely place to view 13th-15th century European art in every form. Rare pieces from dismantled ancient abbeys and churches, you’ll see (up close) everything from sculptures in painted walnut with gold gilding to ancient hand written catalogs of herbal remedies. The architecture mimics a medieval monastery and the history behind it all embodies creativity to the fullest. The tulip garden was a feast. Highly recommended!
Sharon Mackey — Google review
Going to the cloisters is a quiet experience, as if you were in another place and time. Entering the museum, you climb a rather steep staircase... No problem for young people but my knees have given out. If you make a request, the museum will allow you to drive up the cobblestone circular drive and either park or drop someone off at the top. From there you can enter into the museum through a back area and take an elevator to the main floor. The museum staff were very courteous and helpful.
Inside the museum you still have to go up and down steps to see most of the rooms so this is not a place for someone in a wheelchair.

Very cool museum. If you are a NY resident, this museum is "pay-what-you-want", so we were able to get 4 tickets for significantly less. The grounds and the building are beautifully unique. They have some amazing pieces from the medieval times.

Amazing hidden museum of medieval art and sculpture on the outskirts of Harlem. An incredible display of art mostly imported from France and Spain. There are some inspirational depictions of Christ and several Virgin Mary and child pieces. You need more than two hours to embrace it all. The cafe is expensive as any other venue cafe would be, but the food was above par and the dining atmosphere excellent.

What an amazing place. This museum really shows you what an effort they put in to preserve the art and culture. Many were ruin or sacked during the wars and these items wind up here and collectively have a new life. Free for NY resident but recommend a donation. Strongly recommend.

I was recently looking for things to do that are off the beaten path in my city of NYC & this place came up in couple of articles. Many people(myself included) don't even know about The Met Cloisters.
Most people associate The Met with their location on 5th Avenue & this one goes unnoticed. It is such a magnificent museum with beautiful works of preserved art & artifacts with a French monastery theme.
I felt like I was walking through the Harry Potter castle inside. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking. They have a small area outside with period correct plants, one of which is poisonous so don't touch. Outside you also get beautiful views of the cliffs of The Palisades in New Jersey.
The drive there was scenic & relaxing. Cost of admission is $30 but for NY/NJ/CT residents you pay what you wish. I paid a reasonable $10. The Cloisters are built around Fort Tryon Park which has plenty of parking circling it so if you're driving don't worry parking will not be a problem. There are also a few handicap spots across the front entrance.
I really enjoyed my visit here & I'm sure you will too. The Cloisters are so majestic & to me it's crazy there exists such a place where one can escape to to get away from all the hustle & bustle of the big city right in the middle of modern Manhattan.
This is a fun experience for all age groups. Makes for a fun date as well. Your ticket is valid for 3 days here & their other location as well.

An architecturally exquisite museum, situated in a quieter area of the city, with a myriad of engaging works; the Unicorn Room is just fantastic. Even on a Saturday afternoon, although many people were present, the museum wasn’t congested. I would definitely recommend visiting if in the city.

Cool place about 40-70 min north of NYC, it’s easily accessible by the A train. Pay as you wish $ if you are a New York City resident. The museum has a great collection of medieval art. The best part for me was the garden with sections for plants used in medieval medicinal herbs, medieval salad, and medieval magic and ceremonies! A great day trip (5ish hrs total including travel) from NYC!

Such a wonderful place to visit. Not your ordinary museum trip. Though smaller than the met the interior design and gardens more than make up for it. Warning if taking the train getting to the cloisters through the park is a major trek. Be prepared

This is a wonderful place to visit. The art, the architecture and gardens are all stunning. I've been here during all seasons. The nicest is when all the flowers are in bloom. But even on a day in March, when the flowers haven't bloomed yet (except some buttercups), there is still so much to see inside and out the museum. Sculptures, murals, statues, ancient artifacts, jewelry, biblical relics, ancient tombs. Its absolutely breathtaking
When I went the Cafe was not yet open for the season. I prefer going when it is so I can sit and eat alongside the gardens. The gift shop was open and offers as variety of treasures for young and old alike

Same with the Met museum in the city. If you live in the New York five boroughs, you get to pay as you wish (at least one dollar per person). We drove here but we also see there are buses so it shouldn’t be a barrier for whoever wants to come without car. Not many parking spaces so would recommend come here early.
The Met Cloister is for sure One of the best places to get out of the busy New York City. Only half an hour drive and you are in another world of tranquility.

This place was amazing. Definitely way less crowded than the main museums. I went awhile back when they allowed me to pay whatever I wanted to pay. I believe now they want you to show ID in order to pay less than the general admission which is $30. We walked up the hill to get to the entrance, that was our exercise for the day. Employees were very affable. I’m not a religious person but it was wonderful seeing the different rooms, artifacts, Christian structures, etc. Plan to spend a few hours there and look at everything.

If you’re up for a medieval adventure right in the heart of NYC, The Met Cloisters is where it’s at. Tucked away in Fort Tryon Park, this place is like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
First off, the vibe here is super chill. You step through those monastery-inspired doors and bam – instant tranquility. It’s a total escape from the city hustle.
And don’t even get me started on the gardens. They’re like something out of a fairytale – lush greenery, fragrant herbs, and cool architectural bits scattered around. It’s the perfect spot to chill and soak up some medieval vibes.
The Met Cloisters might not be as flashy as some of the other museums in the city, but trust me, it’s worth the trek uptown. The vibe, the art, the gardens – it’s all just so cool. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful and unique museum with a broad selection of Romanesque and Gothic medieval works. The museum itself is absolutely stunning, with incredible architecture and an amazing ambiance. The focus on the detailing and architecture makes it feel as though you are truly walking through a French monastery. The medieval gardens are also incredibly beautiful and well maintained. I loved the different themed rooms and the wide selection of art pieces and artifacts. As well, the museum has wonderful views of the Hudson River. I highly recommend visiting this museum not only for the art, but also the ambiance, the architecture and the incredible views.

A bit of a hike to get to but absolutely worth it. Some beautiful pieces in a wonderfully designed modern building that could easily pass for something multiple centuries old. The walk up the path from Dyckman St is much easier than using the stairs options. The views from outside up and down the Hudson are wonderful.

My friend said this was the most beautiful American museum he had been to. The architecture and the collections are both quite impressive. So wild that this exists in North Manhattan. It's a pastiche of many different medieval styles and localities and thus is an effective art survey. I visited because a long time ago when I went to Columbia I always wanted to go but put it off because it was so easy , only a few stops up the IRT, but sometimes proximity leads to passivity so thus great many years later now I finally made it and it was worth it, on a clear day when you could see the Palisades. Thank you, Rockefeller family! I really loved it and particularly liked the nutty corbel figures.
Located above 190th Street in Upper Manhattan, Fort Tryon Park is a 67-acre public space with a lot of natural beauty to offer. It's perfect for people who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and take in some stunning views of the Hudson River or relax in one of the many parks or gardens located there.
Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall. This park is lovely all year round. It's a bit of a trek up from most entry points. Very challenging. Fun for hikers. At a very high elevation. Very lovely. Nice to see the city maintain this shangri-la. Almost like a mini Central Park. Lovely but small free botanical garden located in the heart. Such a nice park to explore. Real prize. Nice views of the George Washington Bridge, the Hudson River, and the Palisades of New Jersey.

Nice park with some interesting history. Being able to visit the fort itself, and enjoy some lovely views from on top of it is certainly one of the more pleasant ways to spend some of your down time. The overall vibe of the place is super chill compared to some of the other parks, and it's an ideal spot to read a book or do some contemplating for that reason. Another thing that I really, really enjoy about it is that there is no shortage of shade for you to get out of the sun, and relax with the trees. Being able to see that stretch of the Hudson without being surrounded by brick, glass, or concrete is a nice escape from the city, and if you have the desire to visit a museum - having the option of walking up to the Cloisters to view everything that hey have on display is an even better way to escape the heat on those extra hot days (like we had this past weekend). All and all, it's just a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Yet another perfect example of the diversity that makes Manhattan and NYC so unique. With it's parks, and the harmonious balance of city and nature.
I especially recommend this park for locals, tourists might love it too of course if they're looking for a relaxing, shady park to unwind at, see some views, or have a picnic but when you come here on vacation time is limited, and no doubt Central Park is definitely worth seeing more if you've only got so much time allocated for parks. Then there's the Cloisters if that's their kind of thing too but for me, Tryon Park is one of the many hidden gems of the city that never really pop out at you. One of those that you have to sort of go digging for, and when you find it you almost feel as though it's an achievement for having discovered yet another surprisingly wonderful area of this great city. Enjoy folks!

Really a quite lovely park that I now consider a bit of a hidden gem. Not something I think I would have seen had I not lived in Inwood, but it's definitely worth a visit. There are multiple things to do here, spread out over various spots of this large, expansive park area, so if you're looking to explore it, I recommend comfy clothes and shoes. You'll have plenty of long trails to walk and there are stairs and hills throughout the park as well.
Some of the main features you can do here: playgrounds and sports fields for families and young ones, plenty of tidy lawns for picnics or relaxing in the sun or the shade, tree lined paths for exploration without the burning heat on you, floral gardens which makes great backdrops for photo shoots, a dog run, nature and wildlife can be seen in this park of you're lucky (we saw a groundhog doing it's thing!), the community will sometimes hold local events here, there is a farmers market close by the northern edge of the park area, access to the water if you want to walk along the Hudson or even fish (I personally wouldn't recommend fishing without REALLY knowing your stuff but people def do it out here), The Hudson restaurant towards the upper north corner, a canoe club that does free canoe demonstrations on Sundays, The Met Cloisters at the top of the hill kind of in the middle, and the views at the various hillsides of the city are GORGEOUS.
I'm including Fort Tryon and all the surrounding nearby park area in this description as it's kind of a long area if you look at the map. The park areas are separated a bit by the street if you're exploring the full thing but definitely sill right there by each other, making this a lovely area full of things to do.

So. Good. We did a geology tour hosted by the NYC Parks department there. Rangers Maura and Nick were superb.
Excellent view of the Hudson and New Jersey. So much history in the park. Great for birdwatching. Though the park isn’t extremely large, it has many levels and paths to get you from one level to the next. There are accessible paths as well. Last note - little benches in little pockets can be found throughout the park. I find that enchanting.

Title: "A Tranquil Retreat Amidst the Hustle and Bustle of Manhattan: Fort Tryon Park"
Review:
Visiting Fort Tryon Park in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan was an enriching experience I'd highly recommend. Amidst the high-rises and bustling city life, this 67-acre oasis provides a serene retreat and an opportunity to reconnect with nature while enjoying stunning views of the Hudson River and the city skyline.
I started my visit by walking through the well-maintained green spaces. The park boasts an abundance of flora, which in itself is a treat for nature lovers. The well-curated pathways led me up the hill to The Cloisters, a unique museum dedicated to medieval art and architecture and a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The journey uphill was worth the effort as I was rewarded with panoramic views of the cityscape and the Hudson River.
The park has beautiful locales, each providing a picturesque backdrop for photography enthusiasts. One can enjoy the sight of the George Washington Bridge and the Palisades or even lose themselves in the verdant charm of the Heather and Alpine Gardens.
The Heather Garden, a 3-acre garden within the park, is a veritable paradise for botany enthusiasts with one of the most extensive heath and heather collections on the East Coast. With a 600-linear-foot perennial border and over 650 varieties of plants, it truly is a sight to behold. The stone walls flanking it and the remnants of Cornelius G.K. Billings' early 1900s estate add an intriguing historical touch. At the same time, the views of the Hudson River from the garden are breathtaking.
Nearby, the Alpine Garden offers another enchanting experience. It's a marvel how the park's designers transformed the rough terrain into a series of pathways and plantings that wind up and down the 150-foot rock-faced slope. The garden gives a sense of being in a mountainous landscape in the heart of Manhattan.
One of the highlights of my visit was the Anne Loftus Playground. The joyous laughter and chirping of kids, and the families enjoying their time together, added a delightful vibrancy to the atmosphere. The playground is indeed a testament to the park's family-friendly appeal.
The Fort Tryon Park Trust Visitor Center is a valuable stop for those interested in the park's history and the surrounding neighborhood. You can enrich your understanding of the area with informative exhibits displayed there.
While Fort Tryon Park can get crowded during weekends, and some trails might be slightly steep for some, these minor challenges do not take away from the overall delightful experience the park offers.
Fort Tryon Park's offerings are open from 6 am to 1 am year-round, and the best part, admission is free. Whether you're looking to escape the city's hustle, immerse yourself in art and history, or enjoy a day outdoors, Fort Tryon Park is a destination that caters to all these needs, effortlessly providing a day well spent in the heart of Manhattan.

This park gives you a very nice view of Hudson River and Palisades. It is a hidden gem, in my opinion. People usually come to this park for the Met Cloisters without realizing right close there is a wonderful garden next to it. I visited on a rainy day, but it is worth visiting on a clear day. It is a very well maintained park just like other city parks. Finding parking within the park can be challenging at times.

Beautiful uptown park with panoramic views of the Hudson River. I love the stonework all over the park. Such close proximity to the parkway detracts from the experience in some of the lower western areas, but it's minimal. The many winding and intersecting trails are fun to hike and explore.

Branch Brook Park is a beautiful 360-acre park with a variety of activities such as bicycling and walking. It is also known for its cherry trees and lakes.
To echo many of the other positive reviews, I’ve been frequenting this park regularly over the last year and a half and I’m glad I found out about it! It’s easily the most beautiful urban park of NJ, if not the planet! I’m a little biased because I fell in love here, but it’s truly a gem, particularly in the spring and fall, and a relaxing place where you can walk for at least a couple hours admiring the native plants and the abundant squirrels. I love the extensive soft “track” path. Many sports fields, trees for hammocks, benches, clean bathroom facilities (open from spring to fall) and port-o-potties make this an all around 5-star park that offers something for everyone. Many thanks to the volunteers and caretakers for keeping it beautiful!

We visited the Branch Brook park for the cherry blossoms and walked from one end of the park to the other end in about 3 hours. What a gorgeous park!!
Cherry blossoms: If your main focus is the cherry blossom trees, the best areas to visit are around the cherry blossom welcome center and the south loop around the large lake. There are so many types of cherry blossoms - different colors, a variety of sizes and plenty of photography options. We visited on a weekend and even though the park was crowded, we had several opportunities to find quiet places and enjoy the blossoms. Do visit the welcome center for some history on the cherry blossom trees.
The rest of the park is equally beautiful with lush green fields, large lakes and playing areas. We found a pretty river near the welcome center as well. There are food trucks selling hot dogs and ice creams around the park.
Parking seemed to be available at many different points but was pretty full owing to the weekend crowd. We took the light rail that had several stops along the park and offered some really great views along the way. Happy spring time!

Branch Brook Park is a great place to relax on the beautiful grass or a quiet walk around the park on the new rubberized walkways. Its a great place for one to meditate on life while gazing at the beautiful trees to absorb all that nature has to offer. Its a place where I go to let go of the past and regroup to continue moving forward. Whether your alone, with love ones, or just friends, Branch brook Park offers a unique experience for all to enjoy.

The most beautiful park in the world. During cherry blossom season (Late March until April 15) expect the most beautiful scenery.. best spots are around Mill Street near the creek, directly in front of Clara Maass hospital and the Starbucks and the area near the Newark Sacred Heart basilica for some really good pictures.

Perfect place to go see the cherry blossoms in the Spring. It is quite large so you can get many different pictures and different views. Definitely spend a day walking around the park!

It is a beautiful day on Easter Sunday. The park is packed with visitors. It is cherry blossom time. Traffic is crazy and finding parking is tough. We arrived in early afternoon. When we leave in early evening, there are still people arriving. There are food vendors with hot dogs and ice cream. Hot food truck ran out of food much sooner than ice cream trucks. Many nice areas to see the cherry blossom. Endless picture opportunities. The park is very big, need to take time to walk around. Very nice lake views. We also stopped by Sacred Heart Church, a landmark in the area.

Park, a breathtaking oasis, proved to be an enchanting paradise during my visit on April 1st to witness the cherry blossom spectacle. Surprisingly uncrowded, it offered an unparalleled view of the blossoms nearing full bloom, adorning numerous trees with a vibrant array of colors. Amidst serene walkways, playgrounds, and soothing fountains, the park emerged as a haven of nature—a sanctuary for the soul. With impeccably clean restrooms enhancing the experience, the only slight challenge was parking, which varied depending on the park's entry point but remained manageable. Overall, Park encapsulates the essence of natural beauty and tranquility, making it a true haven for the local community.

This is a unique park... lots of activities for all ages...lots of parking...but the crown is the cherry blossoms. Visit this park during the Cherry Blossom Festival and you won't forget the spectacle! I live not so far away from this park but had never attended a Cherry Blossom Festival...and I regret it...This a must attend festival. So unique and special, I am not missing it again...Got a feeling of finally, "Being one with Nature."

Location was nice, pretty clean. Staff was nice. Host could have been more involved with the birthday party. DJ was OK. Needs to have more variety in music. Overall had a good time. Can't wait for roller blades to be available like the staff mentioned. 🤞

Absolutely stunning when in bloom. Even though it was busy, parking was easy (so long as you can parallel park). There were so many scenic spots for pictures. There are food trucks available nearby as well as restrooms. Overall, this was a very nice park to visit.

This park is huge. It runs through Newark, Bloomfield, Believe, and other surrounding cities. The roads are nicely paved with clear directions of which way each road leads. There are benches and other seating arrangements throughout the entire park. Festivals and other activities are held throughout the park at different times of the year.

Great place to unwind in the middle of a concrete jungle. It's so big you can find nice quiet spot or just walk and explore. Lots of fishing spots also.

Cherry Blossom season is here again. Beautiful cherry bloosom as you can see. The park is big and it's a nice place to walk. Peak Bloom is expected April 4-14 if you want to go check it out.

One of the best park around the area, especially for cherry blossom for locals. This park has featured multiple play area, easily accessible, trails around the park, small water body along the park. Only issue i could see is the parking. We went to this park on last week of march 2024, that was little bit early, but i can sense the beauty of this park at full bloom. Don't miss this when you are near this park during the season.

Branch Brook Park, the nation’s first county park, is located in North Newark with a portion of the park touching the Township of Belleville. Branch Brook is known for housing the largest collection of cherry blossom trees in the United States. The Newark Light Rail runs on the park’s west side, providing multiple access points from Newark Penn Station. Branch Brook Park has earned its deserving popularity among National and International visitors alike for its remarkable cherry blossom display during spring. However, every time I visit the park, it continues to surprise me with its natural beauty regardless of the season. I have no words or photos that can come close to expressing how much I genuinely enjoy experiencing this treasure.

We went for the cherry blossoms and it was incredible. There were so many different kinds (the most beautiful were the weeping ones) and so many of the trees. This park was huge with many photo opportunities, it was sweet seeing wedding parties and prom photos! It was a bit windy and cold so if you go be sure to bundle up. There were a couple places that were super busy with tons of people but if you drive through the park for a couple minutes there are plenty of secluded peaceful areas.

Super amazing place for cherry blossoms in New Jersey. It was flocked with people and everyone was in awe of the beautiful blossoms. Worth the visit. There are a few icecream trucks when you enter so maybe grab an icecream and walk through the huge park. Makes it worth it. You won’t be tired seeing the foliage for hours.

Park was filled with cherry blossoms pink and white! It was a spectacular view! Had an awesome outing with family! It wasn’t very crowded, we were lucky to get street parking.

Went to see the cherry tree blossoms today, 4/1/24, and with the drizzle, the park was so lush looking. I got there around 10 am, and the park was pretty much empty so there were plenty of parking spaces. The blossoms have not reached peak bloom so there is still time to view if you catch my review in time.

HUGE PARK! There today for cherry blossom festival. Trees are at peak and gorgeous..soo many! But very, very crowded! Getting pics without people was nearly impossible. Parking was a challenge because much of the park road was closed for the bike race today but we did find street parking. I recommend that if you are there to see the trees...park on end past visitors center and walk as far as visitors center. Skip center of park and then relocate to other end of the park. We found easy parking by the Basillica of Sacred Heart. Walk this end for a mile or so. Trees are densest at these two points.

Great place for Cherry Blossom and their walkways are really beautiful. North side of the park has a lot of picturesque areas and has the Cherry Blossom Festival Center. Beautiful park to chill around during Cherry Blossom and Fall seasons.
