It was so much fun! Lots of cool artifacts and history! The trolley ride was also super fun and had great stories! We loved our experience here!

Visited Apr 13, 2021. As expected, the museum was informative and very interesting. A very good visit.

This is a must-stop for visitors to Helena, and locals should check in regularly, too. I used to love going in here as a kid and the museum helped spark a lifelong passion for art and history. So... Take your kids! As an adult, I appreciate the wonderfully diverse exhibits on a deeper level. So... Take yourself, grownups!

Got there about an hour before closing and the gentleman at the entrance desk was kind enough to let us take a quick tour of the museum and gallery with no entrance fee. Was great to learn about Montana history dating back from the dinosaurs to the mid-20th century. Also really enjoyed the idealized paintings of Charles Russell.

Great Montana history and depth of knowledge on our great state.

For a small museum there was a lot to take in. Well organized. Well presented. A lot of local history. Well worth it
Lesley Bilyeu — Google review
Definitely one of the best museums I've been to. Down in Colorado we pay $30 per person on tickets for museums HALF the size of this one! Bring your kids, they'll love it!
The Wilderness Awaits — Google review
I wasn't sure what to expect- in Montana, you never know what might be considered a museum! But there is lots of information about Native culture, the mining rush, how agriculture developed and also how women's roles in Montana were very different historically from the east and west coast. Tickets are only $5 and if you ride Last Chance Train Tour, you get a BOGO coupon for admission. And while I was there, they had a very interesting exhibit on Beer!
Let me start by saying this is a 2 part review:
Part 1: The experience was so fun and interesting! My husband and I shared a "motherload bag" and found lots of beautiful saphires and had the best time.
Part 2: The owner and his family/employees are just the best people. Our car broke down and after spending a solid hour trying to fix it for us, they were nice enough to drive us to town to get a rental car.
All this to say, we will definitely be back! Thank you, thank you, thank you Spokane Bar Sapphire Mine!
Haley Hanson — Google review
Worth the drive. The gentleman in the shop is very friendly and knowledgeable. They do beautiful work with their cut stones. Their gravel bags cost quite a bit more than other places we have purchased from. Will be returning this summer.

This place is such a GEM. We bought a bag of dirt from the Mother Load and we found quite a few sapphires!! The lady here was so knowledgeable and personable, she showed us some of the stuff she was working on & sifting through and it was SO cool! Will definitely come back here, one of our favorite mines we've traveled too!

Stopped by this past Wednesday around noon and although it’s the off season still, there was a super friendly gent named Tye working the shop and indulging people like myself to knowledge about being a sapphire miner/lapidary! I picked up a Mother Load bag from the shop to sift through here at the house, I’ll update this post with my findings. I also asked Tye about rockhounding locations around the area and he pointed me to the Rockhounding Montana book and sure enough when I got home and took a look in the book, there’s a picture of Tye representing the mine!
Montana is full of rich geological history and I highly suggest anyone in the Helena area give the Spokane Barr Sapphire Mine a visit!

Absolutely amazing and a great way to spend an afternoon looking for sapphires at their property. We found some with the biggest over 3CT. Hated to leave so I bought a bag to take home and then had 2 more bags sent via mail. The grandkids and I had a blast looking for treasure. I took what we found and sent them to the mine and they contacted me to let me know one sapphire was over 5CT and another over 1.
Can't wait to see them and have them put in some jewelry.

This place is phenomenal! Came for a day in search of saffires. You will not be dissappinted in the staff, they are awesome. They explain how the gems form, what to look for and how to sift through your bags to find the gems. Went through the first 2 Mother Load bags and found dozens of beautiful saffires. Many of which are gem quality with excellent color and clarity. In addition to saffires, we found lots of jade, quartz, moonstone, and other precious stones that are bound for the rock tumbler to bring out their beauty. Had so much fun and success, we returned for another day of searching with 2 more bags of Mother Load and 2 bags of Eldorado. Highly recommend the Eldorado or Mother Load bags of paydirt for your greatest chances of success. Due to our great success and the extremely friendly and helpful staff we will be returning for sure.

What a great experience, something fun to do. If you go there with unrealistic expectations you won’t be disappointed ITS FOR FUN PEOPLE!!! Russ, caz, and tye are great, I’m sure, tired of the “get rich city folk” but have great enthusiasm for nubbies , I recommend hand diggin(make a picky nick outa it) it’s a little work and we’ll worth it!!

Bought the $150 bag of gravel. Waste of money. This is all we found wanted to see if they were better than gem MT. They all stink. If you want to do it buy the smallest bag.
Jasper Peterson — Google review
Could not access the site due to HEAVY DEEP MUD sections on the long access road to the Mine. Will return when summer brings dry road conditions. Don't attempt getting through the mud pits, because it's a long way for a tow truck to help you out. I turned around and avoided ruining my vehicle.

On the good side we found some very small Sapphires and Agotes. On the bad side we had to wash our stones in bath tubs with water the was so gross we washed and Sanitized after we left. My other issue is very poor customer service. He showed us how to hunt but then NEVER checked on us. At the end he did point out the stone types we had but never even took them out if the bags or offered to separate them
Roger King — Google review
Not sure what Karen down below is talking about, but we JUST left and had an amazing time! Group of 5 of us shared one bag and each found multiple sapphires as well as moon rock, jade, agate etc! The workers were extremely helpful, showed us how to do everything and showed us exactly what we were looking for! They also help you identify everything you found afterwards! If you don’t find anything you just aren’t looking hard enough! We even saw young kids finding lots of sapphires, and the guy next to us was finding them left n right! Don’t listen to the negative review!

They Shadow ban reviews they don't like.. That alone speaks volumes.. What a scam. 02/14/21. My first mistake was not reading the reviews. Do not order from these snake oil peddlers.. We ordered a bag of gravel/ dirt from all three mines. Funny how all boxes have the same gravel in them. Not from different geological formations. All gravel has already been washed atleast once.. In three bags we found ZERO, NADA, Big goose egg nothing. What do you do? Sell gravel thats been gone through in person @ your Mine? What a joke.. We found nothing, I mean NOTHING in all.. Do not order from these scoundrels. This is by far not our first encounter sifting thru Montana dirt. It will be our last time using these thieves. Disgraceful..
Plotted. TRP FU#004.
Scouts Out.

Came to celebrate my mother's 84th birthday. She does not walk very well and was using her walker. The staff was gracious and accommodating. We shared a bag if El Dorado concentrate and they asked if we'd done this before. Yes, we did. They came out about an hour into our sorting through the concentrate to ask if we would like an ice cold water and how we were fairing. I had found a few gem quality sapphires by that time, I was out in the sun so I could see them better, my mom was under the shaded bench. She was having much luck but did end up finding the biggest sapphire, a semi clear with yellow orange in the center. I found several blues, and one with an orange center, plus a gem quality moonstone. Great time and great customer service.
mike miller — Google review
Lots of fun and very nice folks inside. It was super busy and we only went through half our bag. They gave us an extra empty bag so we could save and take home our gravel. Found 3 sapphires, but we were in the shade. I heard the trick is to go through your gravel a couple of times
Anyway, I think I have a new hobby! Drink wine and wet gravel 😁
Megan Brown (Megan Murray) — Google review
Fun family experience and found lots of sapphires in all different colors, even some really nice gem quality one's I'll have faceted with their in house gem cutter..
Great time 💯 I'll definitely go again!
Mike Cumley — Google review
Such a special place! “Gem King” Russ and his daughter Crystel were a delight. They are wonderfully kind and helpful people. The unassuming structure has a very old school vibe that feels authentic to the history of the local mining industry. Hands on experience that was tons of fun as a couple and would be a great full family affair! The surroundings with the lake and mountains add to the beauty of the experience. Could not say enough great things about this place and the people who make it possible!

Fishing with Fish Tales Outfitting well be one of the best experiences you can have. He'll put on fish all day. Last time I fished with Mike it was fish on all day....
Rocky O — Google review
My husband & I had the fishing experience of a lifetime! We had never been fly fishing before. Our captain patiently showed us the tricks, expertly navigated the boat, and helped each step of the way. The views were incredible and fly fishing was awesome!
We found it easy to catch fish & loved the entire process. Lunch was great & we felt well taken care of. This was trip was our "splurge" for ourselves and was worth every penny. We will absolutely do it again next year!
Sonya Thelen Meldahl — Google review
My wife and I spent two wonderful days floating the river with Lamont. Floated both the Madison and the beaver head and thoroughly enjoyed both days. Lamont is a true professional. Can’t wait to come back again next year.
Len Guldman — Google review
My father and I had a wonderful 1/2 day float on the Madison with FishTales outfitting last week. He is one of the top guides I have fished with in any situation.
Mike did a great job of instruction for my 73 year old father who had never fly fished before and was only able to sit (not stand) in the boat. He was excellent at positioning the drift boat to give dad the best opportunity resulting in multiple hookups and several trout landed - dad's first fly rod fish of any kind!
Mike's patience, knowledge, sense of humor, and kindness were on display throughout the day - he even laughed at dad's stories!
While doing all of that Mike also managed to keep a slightly more experienced angler busy and productive by pointing out runs and pockets to cast to, honing my technique and teaching me how to fish streamers on the Madison. Mike's knowledge of the river allowed us to be prepared for the upcoming pockets of fish holding water in time to make the appropriate casts and his expertise in the drift boat was evidenced by his positioning the boat to allow the most productive drifts, including long drifts of the fly near undercut banks.
All of this with a friendly, easy-going guide and beautiful scenery made for an outstanding trip. I hope to fish with Mike Stack and FishTales Outfitting again if I get back to the area. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great fishing experience.
Jim Hoffmann — Google review
I had two incredible days on the Big Hole with LaMont Carter, couldn't ask for a better guide! Lots of fish to the boat both days, including several over 19 inches. If you're thinking about fishing the Big Hole, think FishTales and LaMont. You won't be disappointed.
Russ Krier — Google review
In March of 2013, I floated the Big Hole River on two seperate occasions with Mike Stack of FishTales Outfitting. Both trips were excellent! Mike is a very experienced guide. He reads a river and positions the boat for success after success. Mike is patient, attentive, and calm. He even takes the time to make personalized videos of the adventure for his clients...super cool with underwater releases! If you want to catch respectable fish (20" trout or larger) and have a great day on the river with an experienced guide....FishTales Outfitting!

“Great Guide - Great Fishing – None Better”
My cousin and I visited Montana last summer and I can't say enough about Mike Stack and FishTales Outfitting. He was easy to contact and went well beyond just accommodating us when booking our trip. On the various rivers he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He put us on fish after fish... Above all we had a lot of fun. Mike is the best guide I have ever fished with and I can't wait to go back.
Leonard Cederholm — Google review
Had a great day on the Big Hole with Troy. First time back in MT in a very long time for my Dad and I. Mike and FishTales set us up with Troy and we had a fantastic day. Caught five different species on the upper Big Hole and Troy kept us informed, entertained and on the fish. We can highly recommend FishTales for your next guided trip in SW Montana.
Darryl Parkinson — Google review
My dad and I have been fly-fishing for 15 years and we still fish with Mike everytime we are in Montana. He is a cool guy, an amazing guide, and a great teacher. We have fished with him on the Madison, Jefferson, Big Hole and the Beaverhead and had tremendous success everytime. He will work hard all day to make sure your fly floats through every hole in the river. He will even row back UPSTREAM to let you float through the good holes again. Awesome dude to fish with whether you're an expert or a beginner. Hope to fish with him again soon!
State park where Lewis & Clark stayed in 1805, with campgrounds, hiking trails & kayaking.
Very pretty place with lots of fascinating history. Has easy walking trails that are good for dogs and kids.
Dave — Google review
VERY confusing! We helped others after we figured out where the confluence was. Disappointing!
K. Reid — Google review
I was traveling across i94 and then i90. I’ve been intrigued by the Lewis and Clark expedition for a while and I kept seeing signs along the interstate that it was the Lewis and Clark trail.
So when I saw the sign for this park, I knew it was a key point in their journey. Just a couple miles off the interstate, I took the time to drive there and ended up spending 90 excited minutes exploring. Lots of great history and some good viewpoints you can climb up to fairly easily.
Nick Deford — Google review
We are from Missouri so it was cool to see the Missouri River Headwaters. The ranger followed us to where we parked and was very quick to tell us that it was 8 bucks to park. We paid 8 bucks and spend a total of 10 minutes there. It was weird and not worth 8 bucks but they knew they could get it so they did.
Ryann Conner — Google review
Not what I expected for a state park. Took us a total of a half hour to see it all. Not sure it was even worth the entrance fee.
Mark Preston — Google review
Very interesting place to visit. Nice walk to the headwaters
Linda Shockley — Google review
Visited during the winter and was disappointed. The hiking trails were pretty limited and the "park" seemed to just be random paths along a decently busy highway.
Julia Johnson — Google review
Just minutes off I-90. Fun stop to break up the long drive through Montana.
Donna Hetrick — Google review
Missouri Headwaters park has picnic tables with awesome views of the river and surrounding mountains. It's a great place to stop for a picnic lunch and then climb around the rocks behind the pit toilets. I free climbed up the rock face and through the rock window...it makes awesome selfies!
Nathan Klawa — Google review
Beautiful sunny place! Not much cover between sites. Very friendly staff. Clean bathroom.
David Kloss — Google review
Make it at sunset and you will see something very special.
Herbert Hutchinson — Google review
6-8 Oct 2023. Nice campground near the Madison River. A short walk (about 1/2 mile) takes you to the confluence of the Jefferson and Madison rivers, the official beginning of the Missouri River. Short walking trails lead away from the campground. Historic Three Forks is just a few miles away. Campground is well maintained even in the off-season. We found the bees a bit of a nuisance, but otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.
John Pearson — Google review
The most disgusting place I have ever stayed. The outhouse hadn't been cleaned in quite awhile. Feces on the floor and the river of urine. The camp host looks as if he just quit rehab and will not talk to you to even let you know that there is no camping year round. They will just issue you a ticket. The history was awesome. The river absolutely beautiful. Avoid the campground at all costs. For the safety of you and yours don't do it.
Dave Wright — Google review
Excellent place to stop while driving up or down I-90. Great place to stretch legs and see some history. It's really a gem of an experience knowing you are standing at the confluence of the biggest river in the USA and all of the history that goes with it.
The pay station was unattended. There is an outhouse bathroom by the pay station. Recommend walking the mowed trail that goes by the old hotel. . Kids enjoyed the park. We stayed about one hour total.
B — Google review
Nice place to sit and watch the river flow by. Never too crowwded. A pleasant place there are sites that you can have birthday parties or just watch the wildlife. A good place for birders and fishing. Just watch out for the moose. They can be pretty intimidating especially during the rut. A great place if you like to watch the ice flows
Richard Herron — Google review
We were brought here by our local friends, and totally surprised by this beautiful park. As the “Head” of the longest river in the US, this park definitely left a clear and long lasting memory for my self, and gave me a good story to tell about the great state of Montana!
Xin Chen — Google review
I didn't go on any hikes but that is an option. Park has a state fee which you put in the envelope upon entering. Drove to the confluence of the Missouri. Pretty neat.
Darrin Roitstein — Google review
It was like going back in time, especially when the beavers were right at the confluence of the Jefferson and Madison Rivers. It was an added blessing to learn that this was discovered by the Lewis and Clark Core of Discovery and that it was also Sacajawea's childhood home. I was also thankful that the advent of silk, and a change in styles, saved the beaver from extinction. Here begins a river of frontier history and culture.
The hot spring pool at Norris Hot Springs flows into a cool spray system which makes it a fun place to relax. The campground has a live music venue in the evening, and is family-friendly during the day.
My husband and I are from Southern Illinois and visiting Livingston for our honeymoon and stumbled upon Norris Hotsprings. We were looking at a couple of venues for hot springs and what stood out the most about Norris' location was that we could book a private soak. Let me tell you the price was well, WELL worth it. 26° outside and the water was the perfect temperature. The gal behind the counter was helpful, personable, and an absolute joy to speak with. The 2 hr time slot was a perfect amount of time to decompress and unwind, with champagne and food to enjoy as well. They also had a gorgeous and talkative old "man" who graced us with his presence for a few minutes! 10/10 will be back whenever we make it back out here!
Colleen Camarano — Google review
A unique spot to visit !
No chlorinated water or treatment of any kind as the spring flows at 60 gallons per minute.
Pretty nice place for a dip & a healthy bite to eat (or a drink if you’re into that kind of thing.)
I like the live music year round on the weekends. Get there early !
Only one pool & no cold water dip (there is a cold water sprinkler of sorts in the one pool.)
A spot to enjoy if you’re camping, floating or fishing on the Madison river.
A Montana tradition not to be missed !
Kenley Raye — Google review
Love coming here. Especially when we rent it privately. It’s literally the best option!! I have never been to the live music, but it always looks like a good time!

What a fun experience! Great place to chill. Family friendly in the day. Live music, adult style venue at night.

"You're simply the best, better than all the rest." I've been coming here all my life and while yes, it's busier now, only because it's wonderful! It still is what it always was- a natural wonder with better food and better atmosphere.
Elle Hayes — Google review
We had a private 2 person soak in early January/winter for 2 full hours and loved every minute of it. From the excellent water and temperature to the perfect playlist, music level, and vibe, this was an awesome experience. Not quite snow on the ground, but a nice crisp air in contrast to the perfect temperature water.
The bartender, Miles, was perfect - just the right amount of checking in on us and offering more food or drinks and mainly just leaving us alone to soak. Beer/wine/kombucha and great food without having to leave the water.
A perfect two hour experience and well worth it. I hope this place stays exactly like it is, wood floor and walls, minimally developed (just enough), and a great vibe.
No idea how it is when there's more people there, but I imagine this draws a great crowd of people who are comfortable with it exactly how it is, and it's still fun and worth a visit during the open admission periods.
Matthew Bafford — Google review
This is a must to check out! The food is incredible and the new owner Miles is fantastic. Happy to have met him and his crew when we stopped by for lunch. Fresh from the garden we had a salad, chicken burrito, chips and guacamole and a special made pizza by Miles with pickles ! Incredible experience. Thank you!

3 drink maximum
Food was decent
Though the food/drink next to the pool is slightly weird, I appreciated it in the end.
Tent campsite was adequate for one night, but no shade and little privacy.
Showers were pretty clean!
Alayne Tadlock — Google review
I had a great time here for a 1.5 hours trip, even in the rain! Very casual and small, but the local food and bar was a lovely bonus. It was perfect as a solid traveler, the pool made it easy to talk to strangers and hang. Would definitely go back.
Margo Dalal — Google review
Nice pool for adults to hang out, kids too. $10 per adult. Wooden benches line the edge so you can sit and soak up to your shoulders. There is cold water spraying into the “pool” from above and that makes it cold when the wind blows. Food available menu has salads, nachos, pizza, rice bowls etc. also, ciders and beer. Changing rooms available and porta potties.
jennifer Taylor — Google review
We spent two nights at the affiliated campground here and had to spend a few hours soaking in the hot spring. It's a really cool pool with a wood slat bottom. They cool the water to around 100 degrees so it's comfortable, and have cold water spraying over part of the pool so you can cool off if the heat gets to be too much.
The real winner here was the attached garden-to-table bar and grill which had plenty of food and drink options. Many items on the menu are prepared with fresh ingredients from the extensive on-site garden!
Definitely a great way to spend an afternoon.
Zac Clark — Google review
One of the best hot springs I’ve ever been to! The atmosphere was awesome, water was warm and the live music was great. Service up at the bar was friendly, quick and great too! Shout out to Miles and Annie who served us with smiles! Will definitely be back.

Very quaint hot springs in the town of Norris. The water is a perfect temperature with a wood base . Beautiful drive along the River . The hot springs does not provide towels or lockers so make sure you have a towel and be prepared to leave your belongings either in car or not locked up. They do serve beer and food. Service was ok. Very crowded the days we went on a Sunday. Plenty of parking. They also have RV sites .
Lisa lisa — Google review
Best hot springs in Montana! Friendly staff supplying you with local delicious beers and fresh delicious food. It's awesome when it's from their greenhouse as well. I recently moved so I'm going to miss you Norris. Thanks for all the great times ❤️☺️.
Vincent Stephan — Google review
I somehow had high hopes for this place but it turned out to be a disappointment. The pool itself didn’t seem very clean and hygienic. The bottom of the pool was filled with moss and very slippery. It made me nervous. The restrooms and the changing rooms were stinking of pee. The food and drinks were good and that’s the only plus. I wish the pool was better maintained. The scenery around was very nice.
Sritama Chakraborty — Google review
When I reserved two nights at this campground, it was only $33 per night (it's since gone up to $50/night). Given that and the "middle of nowhere" factor, I came into it with low expectations of a short stop on our way to Yellowstone.
What we got here, rather, completely blew me away. My only gripe is that the sites are very small - not enough room for a picnic table on the narrow site. However, the bath house was one of the nicest and cleanest I've ever seen. The surroundings are beautiful, and the access to the hot springs made it a great experience. There was a lady doing landscaping who was one of the hardest working people I've ever seen, and it shows in the beauty of the place and surroundings.
At $33, it was a steal. But even at $50 its still a solid value. Highly recommend!

4 of us adults did a private 2hour soak. It was amazing! Drinks(during) and salads(after) were delicious! Definitely a must visit when in the Bozeman area! Relaxing and unforgettable experience!

Went with my friends and we had SO much fun! It was mentally challenging and definitely pushed us, but we had so much fun along the way. Not too spooky, just good solid vibes that made us immediately want to come back. Thank you so much to the staff for giving us an experience to remember!
Hailey Livingston — Google review
Was okay, instructions were given really fast. Wasn't too excited to leave my phone in an unlocked box out front. The room was in need of some basic repairs. It was a well used escape room and you could tell people had tore it apart before and they had kinda tried to fix it.
Kayla Cline — Google review
We had a blast doing the Heist room! The puzzle was well put together and just the right combination of not too easy and not too hard. This was our first time doing a break out room and the beginning instructions were very vague and difficult to follow. We were also disappointed a couple different times when we were asking for a hint and we had to wait quite awhile until the person working was back at their desk. The end felt really brief and anticlimactic. He very quickly went over what we were missing in the last clue we had gotten stuck on, but was very short and awkward and didn't do any of the ending photos with props that we expected. Overall, the room was a great experience, the customer service not so much.
Sarahanne Ortman — Google review
After having an absolutely amazing experience at another escape room in town this one felt like a bit of a let down. The Asylum room felt like it lacked creativity and was unnecessarily complicated. The staff was very nice and engaging-- the actual room was just a bit disappointing.
Kyleigh Render — Google review
This was such a great experience! I did it with my 3 other friends, and we had a great time. The owner is so passionate. A “mental” escape room. 10/10 would love to do the other room!!!
Caitie Stansfield — Google review
I did the asylum escape room with my boyfriend and it was honestly the worst escape room I have ever done. There weren’t any lockers for our stuff but rather an unlocked box. The compass we were using appeared to be broken and wasted the majority of our time trying to figure it out. At the end when he came into the room I asked him what we were supposed to do with one of the clues and he said it had nothing to do with escaping the room. Then why was it locked in the drawer if it was useless?? Definitely will not be going back to this place; it was a waste of money and the rooms are supposed to be challenging and fun not impossible and frustrating.

Amazing place. My friends and I did “The Heist,” and the attention to detail was magnificent. The storylines are really well done. I’ll come back soon, and I can’t wait for the new room!

This was our first escape room experience. We had a wonderful time with "The Asylum" that we turned around and did "The Apollo". The young gentleman that was running things that day dud an amazing job at multitasking and setting the mood for the rooms. I will be back.

Great skiing at Big White. We had a wonderful Christmas in April with over 30 inches of new snow in a week. Terrain is awesome - from beginner to world class expert. Steeps, breathtaking views, tree skiing, blue cruisers, and big terrain park - there's something for everyone. I love the bubble chair lifts with heated seats. The village is small but has lots of character. We stayed at the Huntley Lodge and it was great, nicely updated. Will be back again soon.

Great resort. Lots of run options, large ski lifts with bubbles to protect you from the weather. Lines are short due to large and fast lifts. The staff is fantastic. The map shows lots of beginner hills. Brought my boys who are beginners and I think they are overly optimistic as many of the beginner slops are more advanced. Great place for experienced skiers not as great if you are a beginner.

This ski resort is HUGE. You could easily spend 2 days here and not repeat a run. The amenities are awesome. Heated seats on some lifts. Covers to pull down over you when it snows. They have great areas for beginners— our 7 year old had a great time. But also double black options for experts. I love that they have an excellent adaptive ski program associated with the resort. We didn’t find that until the day we left, but still be back to have our daughter with Down syndrome take a class. The lift tickets here are pricey. No question. We used our mountain collective passes which made that part easier to swallow for us. 2 days at Big Sky almost parts for the entire pass.

Huge! You would need several days to ski the whole resort, there are lots of various terrains and excellent lift and staff. The mountain is beautiful and you gotta go to the top if it's a sunny day! The base is not very good this year considering it's already March, I stuck on rocks multiple times when ski on seemingly untouched powder. Very easy to find parking and shuttles are very frequent if you park far from main base.

I booked the condo my friends own in Village Center for the week. The condo itself was very nice and clean, and the front desk staff members were friendly during my few interactions with them.
The relatively few on-resort dining establishments that were open were somewhat often closed during their posted business hours, leaving us to eat something we didn’t want or go off-resort.
The check-in process was confusing, and involved going to a different building than where we were staying, only to have someone escort us to another parking lot after quite a wait and get us checked in at the building where we were staying. I’d rather have been able to go to our parking area directly.
I was to park in the owners’ lot per my friends, but it was closed for an event the weekend we arrived. It was open after that for parking, but we were never given the code we asked for to access it, and had to park farther away during our time here. It was no dealbreaker, but for what it costs to own a condo here, I’d think the owners’ lot should always be available for them and their guests to use.
The hiking/biking trails and the disc golf courses are excellent. The hiking and biking trails are fantastic. The resort itself is in a beautiful location. It’s an outstanding place to get away and recharge.
Overall, the stay was very enjoyable, and the minor annoyances were acceptable considering the rates available at the time I booked. For people paying the current asking prices to stay here, the resort should do better.

Had a fantastic week here March 10-18. Great dump of snow midweek to give a couple of days of fresh powder - terrain is amazing with broad spread of difficulties from green all the way to triple? black diamond runs... The lifts are efficient and mostly with short lines. The tram system to the top of Lone Peak is a pay as you go system, with an additional daily fee on top of your existing lift pass. This cost varied from $50-80USD/Day and is based on expected demand. The tram caries only about 10-12 people each time, and only leaves every 5minutes or so, hence the wait times can be very long to get the lift (we waited 65 minutes), even when they only seem short in length. On a powder day, you feel a bit like you're letting the day go to waste a bit by standing around... But the terrain on lone peak is less travelled, so snow is less tracked. We had a deep powder run down Liberty Bowl (waist-deep powder) which was minimally tracked, so even for the cost of the tram add-on, I am still glad we did it!! It was phenomenal!!
Overall, not the cheapest place to have a family ski holiday, and probably would find a trip here with my whole family too cost prohibitive, but as this was taken as part of a conference trip, the tax deductible nature of many expenses made it pretty affordable overall...

Disclaimer trail maps make it look bigger than it is. It’s still massive. Don’t take the moose lift, it’s 20 minutes with no bar. But the glades are perfect. The bowl is fun. The catwalks are are long and the trails are smooth

This was an incredible and fantastic adventure. It is a thrilling activity surrounded by the gorgeous Gallatin National forest. Our zip-line guides were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this zip-line to anyone visiting the Yellowstone or Bozeman areas.
Only one word of caution, please check their website for weight by restrictions for safety. You can also rent a mountain bike, you can bike from top to bottom. There’s a lift that can take you to the top.

I have to say that we were truly amazed with the facilities, activities, food and service. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We came in July to visit some of the area’s national parks and wished we would have stayed one extra day to spend time on the grounds. We stayed in the Huntley Lodge and our breakfast was included in the Chet’s Restaurant. You never really have to leave the resort and there is no shortage of activities. Highly, highly recommend staying here!

I live and work at the big sky resort, our snow paths are phenomenal, a lot of various locations to rip the Nar worth every minute. The area host several events yearly such as archery, weddings, snow events, hiking events. Really worth looking into if you are a fellow Nomad like myself.

We had been coming to Big Sky for decades until they raised the ski rates a while back. However, we were able to take advantage of the early season ski and stay prices. The new upgrades on this mountain are surely worth it. Heated chairlifts, no lines, great customer service!!! Food was great and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Geoff at Huntley Lodge was great and our first point of contact at checkin.

The Good
- The Huntley Lodge is very nice and comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is nice however the jets were not working in one of the hot tubs.
- The breakfast was great! Plenty of choices and a great meal to start the day.
- The Peaks Restaurant and Cabin Bar & Grill were outstanding. Great dinners at both.
- Loved the Exchange area to get a quick bite, drink, and pickup groceries - however the lines for checkout was long and slow.
- The demo shop was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
- Ski valet guys were friendly and considerate.
- The skiing was fantastic! Lift staff were great!
The Bad
- Bell people didn't ask if we needed help with our bags when we arrived. We weren't directed to the ramp to roll our bags up.
- Check-in person had a bad attitude and was not helpful. Didn't solve problems especially for those who are first-timers.
- A lot of room noise from floor above. Walls and ceilings don't limit noise well.
- A lot of misdirection and miscommunication from ski rental shop when returning ski equipment.
- Ski instructors are great but more helpful when either be asked to help or being paid for a lesson.
We had a great time at Big Sky and would recommend it. I believe there may be need for additional training in soft customer service skills.

Very nice resort that is huge. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. My only complaints are the prices of everything. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you come to visit or want to ski. We did a full day on Saturday February 4th, with lift tickets and rentals, and our son did a ski school for his age group (age 7). We wanted to do a half day Sunday. My buddy who did a full day Sunday paid $248 for a full day ticket, while I got a half day ticket around 1 pm for my son and I and it was $200 for me and $130 for him. He was a beginner and did not get off the magic carpet. That’s one thing that’s not clear on the website if a lift ticket is required or not for the magic carpet, or if I needed one to help him or not. Another thing was at the end of his lesson on Saturday his instructor said that they offered half day lessons and we should sign him up for Sunday. When we went to sign him up for Sunday we were told they don’t do half day lessons for his age group, that we could book a half day private lesson for $875 or a full day private lesson for $1075. Two waters at Madison village was $10.75. So just prepare to spend about double on everything. Nice resort with lots to do just budget accordingly.

Big Sky is arguably the best ski resort in the continental US. I like it because there is so much variety in terrain. The only negative is the village is not at the resort unlike Vail or Whistler, so you have to drive a couple miles to have more food, beverage, and entertainment options.

Dangerous ski place. Very crowded and the ski patrol does nothing to control the situation. There is a separate area for beginners but it full of teenagers going 100 mph going back to the lift. I saw several colitions and serious falls in a green run called Mr K and it was supposed to be a "slow" area.

Beautiful place but it’s up on the mountain not in the little town. It’s an absolutely beautiful drive up here from big sky.
Service was excellent, including a call letting us know the restaurants up in the hotel were closed because of the off-season.
Would probably be incredible to stay here if you were skiing.
Room rates in big sky are insanely high. But got a decent rate for this place online prepaid.

Great ski hill but man the conditions are rough.
The atmosphere is wonderful. DJ in the evenings. Almost a steamboat party vibe.
Runs are slightly shorter.
Not a fan that you have to pay for the tram. But I guess it keeps down the traffic.
A lot of chair lift issues and the lines have been pretty long

I spent a week snowboarding at Big Sky with friends. The mountain is fantastic. The scenery beautiful. Nice long runs at all levels. Nice lifts. No long lines. Only negative is the cost of the lift tickets. Very expensive.

I recently visited Big Sky Resort and had a truly enjoyable experience. The resort offers stunning views, excellent facilities, and friendly staff, making it a great destination for ski enthusiasts.
However, I feel it's important to mention that the pricing seems quite steep, especially considering that more than half of the mountain was closed during my visit. While I understand the costs associated with maintaining such a large resort, a daily lift ticket price of $234 felt excessive given the limited access. It would be beneficial for guests if the pricing reflected the actual availability of the trails and facilities.

Beautiful mountain and gorgeous resort. As an amateur skier, I was surprised by the difficulty of the runs, but really enjoyed them all. Little to no line for the lifts, nicely groomed runs, variety of food options, and excellent lift service. Every Monday and Wednesday they have avalanche dog meet and greet, which was a lot of fun and educational. Highly recommend visiting Big Sky for your next ski/snowboard trip. Keep in mind the drive from Bozeman to Big Sky can be difficult at night, even in great conditions.

We spent New Years Eve at Big Sky and then Jan 8th at Big Sky for snow biking. We were up at Madison Village for the snow biking. The guys at the rental spot were nice and helpful, and making sure our 10 year old was comfortable. The snow bikes are highly recommended! They are so much fun! People operating the ski lifts were also helpful to slow or stop the ski lifts so our daughter could load and unload safely.

Gorgeous place. One of the best waterfalls i have been to. Well kept trail and plenty of benches. So many spots to look at along the way and access top and bottom of the falls. easy enough hike. Be prepared for some mosquitoes though. We got bit. There are some slightly dangerous spots so watch your kids. it was fairly busy on a summer late afternoon weekday. It is a flat trail full of switch back elevation changes. Check the time of year to make sure the paths are clear. Some snow and ice may be on the paths in May. Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Worth the walk. Go to the large falls since you can go to the base and top of the falls.

EXCELLENT! The Ousel Falls Trail was maintained very well and signage was visible and abundant. Beautiful trail with gradual switchbacks, bridge crossings and a beautiful set of falls that reminded me of Oregon/Washington Coast. This trail is maybe .5/.7 miles back and same distance back out. Great way to spend a small portion of the day. There are some picnic tables along the way, pack something to eat and enjoy the views and sounds of the falls for a few...please make sure to pack out whatever you brought with you👍🏻

This place is absolutely beautiful! The hike itself is very easy and you can get in and out in less than an hour. Different trails to choose from and there is a bathroom on site. This is a new fave for us!

Ousel Falls is a BEAUTIFUL waterfall!! Easily one of the most impressive in this area of Montana. Best thing is? It is very easy to get to! The trail is paved, which even makes it handicap accessible (albeit with some steeper parts), and it’s a nice 20-minute stroll to get to the main falls. Don’t think it’s boring along the stroll though - you have beautiful views of the trees and river and other scenery all along the path!
In summer, it’s a pretty popular destination. Many people in Big Sky visit with their dogs just to get their exercise in, and after it rains the falls are even more impressive. Try to time your visit after some heavier rainstorms (of course keeping in mind it’ll be muddy, so wear proper shoes)!
In winter, the falls are even more beautiful. They are pretty much entirely frozen, and you can walk right up to the ice! It is otherworldly seeing so much ice around, even if you’re from Big Sky! As an added bonus, way fewer people come in winter, so you might have the whole park to yourself! Do keep in mind though, it is quite slippery walking down to the waterfall in winter, especially if there have been some warmer days before your visit (as melting and re-freezing forms ice on the path), so be very careful when you’re visiting, and bring shoes with proper treading!
All in all, this is a must-visit when you’re in Big Sky. Whether you’re coming to the area in summer to visit Yellowstone, or in winter to ski up at the mountain, take one morning and head down to Ousel Falls. You’ll not be disappointed!

Food was far too overpriced for the the quality we received. Good fries though. Also, the hostess was very rude to my party and I only on having just arrived. Then she proceeded to say we couldn’t sit separately from each other even though there was 12 of us. Her tone was almost as if she was too good to be seating us. Would’ve probably got a 4/5, but the service was terrible. Earthquake Lake was formed in 1959 after a massive earthquake, and it is located near West Yellowstone. The lake is picturesque and has a visitor center as well as hiking trails. Its formation tells the story of the power of Mother Nature, including death, destruction, and heroism. This place is hallowed ground where visitors can experience these forces firsthand. The old trees around the lake are eerie reminders of what took place, along with the small town on the bottom.

YES, this place is worth visiting, both in summer and in winter! If you are traveling to Yellowstone National Park, make the effort to go a bit out of your way to Earthquake Lake! It takes a little while to drive to, but it is a very unique place!
Earthquake Lake was formed not too long ago by one of the most powerful earthquakes in recent Yellowstone history. A landslide occurred, blocking off a river, and the area began to flood. Many people camping by the river died from this event unfortunately, and yet the lake is still here, decades later.
Earthquake Lake is so unusual as it still has many of the trunks from trees poking out of the water. These trees used to be on dry land alongside the river, but when it flooded, they died, and just the trunks remain. Also be sure to head up through the pass to see toward Idaho - if you’re there at sunset, it amounts for some beautiful photos.
There is a visitor center, gift shop, ample parking, some hiking trails, and various turnouts along the road so you can get some pictures of the lake. It’s worth visiting - I really like it here!

This is a beautiful place with a magnificent history and stunning scenery! The lake was formed by the quake of 59' that shook the region and changed the landscape. It is a beautiful drive toward Ennis, Montana to dig for garnets and gold in Nevada City or from Ennis toward West Yellowstone, the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. My boys have found petrified wood and lots of quartz crystals here. Even a couple arrowheads. We leave them here but they are still fun to find.

Do the 2 hour ride.
My family of 5 and an aunt/uncle did the 3 hour ride in June 2021. The website made it seem like there would be spectacular sites and views. It was really just a walk through the woods. 2 hours of looking at evergreens would have been enough. The entire ride looked identical to the photos attached to this review.
They did not permit us to dismount at all until the end of the ride. Our one guide was in the front and completely oblivious when our horses were fighting each other or trying to knock off kids by walking under low branches. I was surprised that each group didn’t have a guide in front and back.
My kids loved the experience and the horses, but they would have been fine with 2 hours. The guide was nice and a good rider. We did not have time to stay and play in the lake. That did look fun.

This was a beautiful trail ride. I only have 4 stars because I was frustrated by the lack of organization. We ended up being almost 45 mins late starting our ride because of others showing up late. We also had to stop for others who had no riding experience because they were freaking out about riding. I wish there had been an advanced rider area and a newbie riding area. That would have been much nicer. The guides were great and very aware that families wanted to be together.

Beaver Ponds Trail is a less frequented path in Yellowstone, offering an enjoyable hike with stunning sunrise views from the hill. It's advisable to carry bear spray for the full loop as there have been recent bear sightings, indicated by a sign at the trailhead.
One of the least popular trails in yellowstone, but the hike was enjoyable. The view of the sunrise from the hill was also amazing. Since we didn’t have a bear spray, we weren’t able to do the full loop, so I would highly recommend getting a bear spray (there was a sign at the trailhead that showed us the date of the most recent bear sighting).

The theater company focuses on quality entertainment that appeals to all ages, with this summer's lineup including Disney's Tarzan and Broadway's Bright Star as well as the legendary Singing in the Rain.
We really enjoy the Playmill and highly recommend it if you are ever in West Yellowstone. The crew and cast are extremely friendly and interact with the audience which makes the experience fun. The concessions during the intermission were perfect. Serving Dole whip floats, Dole whip, paper floats and caramel apple Sundays and of course popcorn. The ticket price and concessions price are very reasonable. We can't wait to go next time we visit West Yellowstone.

Awesome place!
Saw The Foreigner and loved it. The cast bring the script to life and get into their characters wonderfully.
Good viewing angles from most areas of seating, there aren't any awful seats by nature, but I would recommend sitting toward the middle.
A decent amount of parking on the street and round the back, but get there early for the best available.
Have heard from trusted friends that their other plays are excellent, and that they haven't been disappointed.
Well worth a visit.

We saw Singing in the Rain and it was absolutely wonderful! The actors were so enthusiastic and sweet both onstage and off. Even though the theatre is smaller, it was cozy and I was thoroughly impressed with how they were able to use the space to their advantage. The performance was sweet, comical and full of great energy. The over all atmosphere was very laid back, relaxed. It felt like you were coming home. I came in having somewhat low expectations, and was blown away by the quality of the show. I HIGHLY recommend seeing a performance here.

GO! Best time ever. I've waited my whole life to see this production and "The Playbill" did not disappoint. We bought tickets on line - easy. Arrived day of and got in line. They stated online doors would open 30 minutes prior - they did. Greeted by cast members at the door and a cast member walked us to our seat - efficent. Cast members took turns singing upbeat songs while the audience got in place - entertaining. People (especially kids) were invited to come dance off some energy with cast on the stage before the show - great idea. Show started on time, sound level was perfect, every seat was great. Show was energetic and addictive. Couldn't get any better UNTIL intermission happened and you don't have to leave your seat. Cast brings popcorn, fudge, sundaes, so many different drinks, t-shirts, hats, stickers right into the theater. You pay at your seat and then the cast collects any trash and starts the show again right on time - genius. The bathrooms are so very clean (probably also cleaned by the cast). After a wonderful second half, the cast gathers and let's you get their picture outside of the Playbill. What a fantastic job! Plan on going again. Also, no phones allowed during the performance (best rule ever). One small hiccup, this is a very family friendly place and the babies on either side of us were a tad fussy. Thought someone was going to ask them to step out but considering how many other jobs the cast was already doing, could not possibly hold it against them. Thank you all for the memories from so many talented individuals.

I was impressed, even amazed, at the way they utilized that tiny space. Their set pieces were multi functional and ingenious. The scene changes were expertly timed and choreographed. Everything worked like clock work. The service at intermission was speedy and friendly, and they brought everything to you so there was no need to leave your seat. Another amazing use of time and space. Parking is very limited, so come early in case you need to walk a few blocks. It was a very fun way to spend an evening.

I've never heard of this place and I get 3 charges from them! 1st attempting to take 5k from my account, then 4k, then 3k! I'm in Michigan! Worst part is when I called my bank toreport this, I was informed that I was the 6th person that day to call with the same exact issue with them! Completely unacceptable! My rent will now be late as I wait for a replacement card!!

We went to the 2nd showing on a Saturday night. The seats weren’t full but the show was just as good as if it were a full house. The cast was incredible and Beauty and the Beast was amazing. 10/10 recommend. We love visiting the Playmill.

We saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat here in the summer of 2023. The experience in this little theater in West Yellowstone is always fun. The shows are full of energy and entertaining. It was good to see the talent level back on par with what I remember from years ago. I’ll be back next visit to Yellowstone Park.

What a mind blowing 🤯 experience!
I don't even remember how I came across The Playmill but so glad I did and we went to a show (Beauty and the Beast). The cast and crew clearly work their butts off and the results are nothing short of magical! Who knew a small town in Montana could attract such talent? Highly recommend for anyone in the area! We hope to be back some day!

I absolutely love this theater! It is the cutest little location and they actors are incredible! It is a small cast of about 24 and they are amazing! Because of such a small cast size they are all constantly going with tons of singing and dancing. I can not stop raving about how amazing they are! This is definitely a must see in West Yellowstone.

We love The Playmill! My family has come since I was little and now I get to bring my own kids. We love the pre show- the cast always is so friendly. The shows and singing are great quality and we love their fudge too! One of our favorite things to do in West Yellowstone!

They did a great job! I definitely recommend the musicals. We saw rhe Foreigner and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat. Both were great.
I do wish that there were more plays with more female leads. All of the plays were very male heavy. And the girls in the company are SO talented. I feel like they are underutilized. But excellent performances!

We had the great pleasure of watching Beauty and the Beast. Such a marvelous production. If you are in the area, it's so worth it to go. The pictures are the before the show entertainment, and the dole whip was at intermission.
Big Gun Fun is a recreation center in West Yellowstone, Montana that offers shooting opportunities for beginners and veterans alike. The staff is friendly and professional, and the safety of the participants is always their top priority.
I was really surprised at the level of professionalism Yellowstone Big Gun Fun upholds. They offer packages the are quite affordable and offer the experience to fire anything from handguns, shotguns to fully automatic machine guns. I had the opportunity to fire both a 1911 45 caliber and also a FNP90. The staff was very knowledgeable and thorough on instruction to properly handle, aim, shoot, posture and correct aiming mistakes. I was really quite impressed and will be returning next year. It is conveniently located 2-3 blocks away from the west entrance to Yellowstone. Right next door you can get Starbucks coffee and right across the street is an awesome pizza place.

Great value despite some people wondering why it's so expensive. (Trust me, it's below fair price compared to similar experiences in other states.) The guy who helped us (Duiwo) was efficient and yet not rushed. After confirming that we were competent he let us load, manage, and clear the guns, but was willing to be totally involved if we wanted that. So he's probably fantastic with first-time shooters. It's a tiny indoor range but you're not there to practice, just to try various guns, so it's just the right size. You can keep your targets as souvenirs. (You guys need to sell t-shirts and other merchandise as souvenirs!) Even if there's a line, because it's full-auto each party will probably be there for just a few minutes, right? So wait in line. They also were willing to let you prepay and then leave to window shop while you wait, so very flexible. Highly recommended. You will leave with a big smile.

Went here on impulse whilst in Yellowstone looking to kill some time and couldn’t have picked a better activity. Having never fired a gun in my life (being from the UK) Everett (top dude) went through the whole process from start to finish with us considering we’ve never fired a gun before. For first timers we were pretty good we were told lol. Everything is laid out for extra safety and the weapons are explained thoroughly. We both had such a fantastic time the prices are really fair for what you get to do and can highly recommend if you’re in the Yellowstone west area that you go and take your pick at some guns to fire!!

If you’re a gun enthusiast or you just want to shoot iconic machine guns you see in movies and video games, then this is the place to go! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and safe with guns. Bailey and Big Ben are great guys that made the shooting experience a lot more enjoyable, they let you handle the firearms like inserting magazines, running the charging handle, ext.. a lot of shooting ranges will not let you handle firearms aside from shooting. This is an experience you definitely don’t want to miss out on while visiting Yellowstone. Highly recommend this place.

Came up from Canada & obviously had to stop in here. “Big Ben” (and his co-workers) are absolutely fantastic. My husband is way more comfortable with fire arms than I am, Ben was super great explaining things to me and helping me select fire arms that I was very comfortable handling. He offered to load them and also accepted my request to do one shot for me to watch. He kept things safe, light, friendly and fun! We will absolutely be back. Thanks again guys 😊

My son and I were on vacation and decided to pop in and see what we could shoot with. Frankly, we were just browsing but decided to have a go. Being a novice shooter, I can't tell you how great they were in educating us in the weapons we chose. They made it safe, prepared us well, and we had an amazing experience. Our instructor (Ben Carr) showed us what to do and taught us some finer points that made a huge difference!! We had the best time.
If you're a novice but want to feel comfortable and experience what it's like to fire some of the weapons they have, this is the spot to do it.

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a nonprofit organization that offers a place for animals threatened with extermination, such as grizzlies and captive-born wolves, to live in an alternative environment. The center has excellent keeper programs that allow kids to watch the animals in their natural habitats.
Awesome spot. We went in winter so it was a slightly different setup than summer but was amazing to see the bears and wolves so close! It's a short visit kind of place, if you really read every plaque and exhibit maybe 2.5 hours. If you go strictly for the animals 1-1.5 hrs if you take your time. Gift shop was priced competitivly with the surrounding gift shops, and the best part is the proceeds go to the center... Great experience, will definitely do it again.
Outraged Lemur — Google review
Kids will love this place... if they are into bears, wolves or wildlife in general. The animals are active under normal conditions, even if sleeping, you can see something. Gift shop has a ton of neat stuff, if you want. There is even a little play ground if your little one gets board with everything else. I think the Bald Eagles need a little more space and the fish and otter sanctuary is very cool! If you have a few hours to spend, this is an easy choice! Enjoy!

While staying in West Yellowstone, we visited the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. Tickets allow you to visit over a two day period. There are several enclosures featuring wolves, grizzly bears, and other wildlife. These allow excellent viewing and photography while providing animals a natural environment. Diligent attention is given to the care of animals at the center. The staff are knowledgeable and gladly respond to questions, including why each animal is there.

We enjoyed our stop here. The bears were engaging and active. The owls were neat and awesome to see. The otters are always cute and fun to watch. The small squirrels were entertaining as well. The wolves were pretty to see.

Best place to visit to see Grizzly bears and wolves. For those who don’t camp don’t get a chance to see the mighty grizzly bears and wolves, so this is the right place to see them. The discovery centre has an entry fee $16 per adult and can be visited anytime within 24hrs from purchasing the ticket. They also demo how to use bear spray, bear habitat and how to handle the situation in case of contact with bears. (Should be booked early to book the slot). The entrance shows a display of bears, their first encounters, life cycle, museum kind of and then we enter into their live habitat where u see bears, wolves, raptors, otters, and squirrels (other species) that undergo hibernation.
It also has shopping area to purchase various items.

An absolute must-see when you visit West Yellowstone! The staff, facilities, and "residents," ie, the grizzlies, wolves, otters, ground squirrels, et al, happily co-exist. We enjoyed a remarkably excellent visit during the first week in April.
Carmel Gabrial — Google review
This is an amazing sanctuary for bears that are impacted by human conflict. This center educates on how to prevent bear interaction with humans. One of the most enlightening demonstrations is "camping in bear country" where they set up a typical tent scenario and let the bears do what they do. The wolf packs are beautiful, they are adding new areas for the animals to enjoy. The entrance pass is good for entry for 2 days.

It was a really nice place. I was visiting from Alberta and making it to the discovery Center was on my list. It close to closing time (late afternoon) so the wolves were a bit more active which was nice. The bears were also out and about and we got see them feed I also got to see a demonstration on how to properly use bear spray. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in west Yellowstone. I also got to see some birds of prey. It's non-profit so that is also a good reason to support the center.

This is a fun place, and my 9 year old really enjoyed it. It's pretty small, but the bear habitat is really cool. They do a great job of keeping the animals active, which is more than I can say for most zoo type places. My son enjoyed getting to go into the bear habitat to hide food (small additional cost-no bears present😄). I would give it 5 stars, but it's just too small. They are expanding, so maybe in the future, I'll be able to bump it up a star!

Incredible experience! Very affordable! You get to see live bears, wolves, a hawk, two bald eagles, and some otters! This is a great activity if you have children as well, around mid-day they have an activity where children can hide food in the exhibit (with the bears put away of course) and then once everyone is out, they can watch the bears look for their food! One price for the whole day! Smaller museum inside as well and more activities outside.

My family with small kids stopped here on our last day at Yellowstone. It was a nice visit to see the animals they care for at this rescue. The bear habitat is very impressive. They rotate which bears are in the enclosure regularly. Each time the bears come in, they are looking for the food hidden by the caretakers, which is very interesting to watch. The eagles, owls and hawks were fun to spot, as their natural camouflage hid them from plain sight.
The display of trash cans and coolers that bears broke into was really interesting, especially to see how they did it.
We spent about an hour there and were able to see all the exhibits.

The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center is a not-for-profit wildlife park and educational facility which opened in 1993 that is located in West Yellowstone, MT. It is open 365 days a year. They have rehabilitated animals and lots of bears and wolves that they rotate every few hours through various outdoor displays. They also have giant aquariums for local river and lake displays. Some include local fish; otters; etc.; dioramas; etc. The displays, dioramas, etc. are spread out among different buildings and outside areas and have excellent descriptions. A great organization to visit and support.

One of the smaller AZA accredited sanctuaries but worth the visit. Of course the bears and wolves are main animals which are well taken care of. They change up their environment constantly to stimulate the animals and create similar changes they would experience in the wild. If you don’t see them out, just move on to another area or wait 15 minutes. We went in the afternoon around 3:30 and shortly after they fed the animals which was cool to see, they would hide the food to keep animals active and to interact with changes in environment. Workers were very educated as well ready to answer questions.

Such a fun time! We didn't see much in the park as far as animals go, so I'm glad we got to see these Grizzly bears! The wolves were just lounging so we only saw their fur lumps and an occasional head lift. The Grizzly bears are just another thing-amazing!

This is a GREAT place! Our family stopped here on our way into Yellowstone and really enjoyed our visit. The exhibit and habitats are excellent and there is a LOT of areas to view the animals. They have several rescue animals and include otters, birds of prey (golden and bald eagles, owls, etc.) In addition to the grizzlies and wolves. Weather does NOT affect your ability to see the animals and they have covered areas to keep you dry or shaded. An awesome facility, totally worth the visit. Pass is good for 2 consecutive days so save your receipt!

We really loved this place. We got there right when it opened at 9:00am on a Saturday and that was a good call because it got busy pretty quickly by about 9:30am. All the wolves were active when we first got there which was interesting to watch. They were all just lying around by the time we left. The grizzly bears were awesome we saw 3. They rotate them in and out and let them forage for food that they hid. The zoo keepers are great and provide information on the animals while you view them. The aquarium area with the otters is amazing but gets crowded fast. We had it to ourselves for a while since we got there early. Overall very nice facility with great information on animals. Also they give AAA auto club member discounts on general admission. It was $15.50 for an adult and $10.50 for a child. Definitely a must see for the wolves and grizzlies up close if you are into animals.

We really do enjoy going here every time we go to yellowstone. There's a museum that you walk through that has stuffed bears, bear facts, and interactive screens where you can learn about bears and a small theatre to learn about wolves and bears. The wolves are usually only on the far left side, and are all out. but they are pretty and look well taken care of. The Bear exhibit only has one bear out at a time, but it's interesting to listen to what these bears would do in the wild and how they simulate that here. The otters are cute but the most I've ever seen are 2. Gift shop is expensive but it has some unique gifts. I definitely recommend it! 🐻 🐻❄

This place is amazing! I loved seeing the fauna there! Otters, fish, birds of prey, wolves, bears..Oh my!! The staff people we spoke to were nice and informative. The details provided about the bears were educational. I don't know if this was a default condition, but when we purchased our tickets, we were informed we could use them for the next day, as well, which is a great value! Keep up the good work!
PS: The only thing I found a little odd/funny was, one of the caps there had the establishment's name on it, but a silhouette of an otter was on the cap, not a grizzly or wolf 😄

We woke up to the wolves howling, it was awesome! The wolves were adorable, the bears were showing off for us, and the birds were just chilling. The otters were some of the cutest animals we've seen in captivity in a long time. The bears were all saved from stupid humans and the birds were all injured and now live here. The gift shop was nice, get a picture with the big stuffed bear!

Historic handcrafted log & stone cabin, circa 1930, featuring original wood furnishings & artifacts.
I haven't gone into the cabin itself, but I was absolutely amazed with the nature. First of all, look under the bridge to see some HUGE trout in crystal clear water! This alone made my day. But, there is an easy trail right behind the bridge that goes from the cabin to the docks with great scenery: clearest river you have ever seen, tall, beautiful trees, and wildlife.
The drive is worth it, whereever you start.

We loved seeing this cute little cabin. The history and hard work behind it, it is amazing to see it still standing in such great shape. The surrounding water is spring fed, pumping 100+ gallons per day into the pond. It had power from the first day he was there and still has a water mill down below the house in the pond area.

This is a place we regularly visit because it's just so cool geologically and also Johnny Sack was a really interesting man. First of all, this is a place where you can see the very beginning of a river literally just bubbling out of the side of a mountain. The salmon here get ENORMOUS, (No fishing!) and my kids love to watch them swim under the bridge. (Also no swimming!)
As far as the actual cabin, Jonny Sack's craftsmanship is awesome to look at. The walk from the parking lot to the cabin is easy, but it is a walk on a trail and there are steps to get up inside the cabin. It's not wheelchair friendly.
We've seen moose chilling in the river here. There is a beautiful hike that follows the river downstream a ways. It's the same river that the Mac's Inn tours will take you down, they just don't go up the river this far because it's a protected environment.
I'm sure there are people who would be bored out of their minds and think, big whoop - big fish and a tiny cabin. I drove here for *this*?!?!" If you're one of those people, probably skip it. I think it's cool.

This was a fun little stop in Island Park. We always stop in at Big Springs to feed the fish, and so we decided to take a short hike to check out Johnny's cabin. I was amazed at the hand crafted detail. It was more interesting to me as an adult than it was for my kids though.

Always quaint visiting Big Springs and Johnny’s cabin. Easy for kids, dogs, and families to enjoy. Be sure to bring bread so that you can feed the large fish that hang out underneath the bridge. The cabin is visible year-round, but only open to the public for tours up until September 15.
This park was recommended by a family member. Since we were here in April with a new 12 inch coating of snow, we weren't sure it would be open and didn't expect to be able to see much. However, we learned you could borrow snow shoes for free.
We drove to the parking area near the beginning of the trail, and suited up with hats, gloves, etc. It was tough going as there were no previous footprints to follow, but it was beautiful scenery. We took a path close to the river and saw and heard geese and ducks.
This was great exercise and sure beat being inside another day! The staff was very helpful. If we're in the area another time, we'll be back and try some hiking, etc.

This is beautiful park for hiking and biking. There are two lakes. No ATVs or motorbikes so it us a quieter experience. I rode the mountain bike trails. Most of what I rode was beginner to intermediate level, but there were definitely stretches well above my skill level where I just walked the bike. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely stunning park! I went to hike the Silver Lake trail and ended up trail running most of it. Nice single track that is not too technical. Not a lot of elevation on the route. Only one hill at the back of the lake but you can skip it if you wanted. Total miles was 8 but if you skip the loop you’ll probably end up with 5 miles. Very well marked and lots of wild life! Bear signs everywhere but I never saw any. Definitely happy I ended up here today!

We had the best horseback ride ever! The day was perfect, clear skies, lush vegetation, and magnificent views! After the 2 hour ride, we had lunch in the park. The grounds were impeccable, the bathrooms clean and the views priceless!

Cool historical place! We didn’t stay there, just visited. But, there’s camping, trails and even horse trails. I believe you can also rent some of the old cabins. There’s corals doe your horses too.
Stop and drink in the history behind Harriman Park.

Beautiful state park with various hiking trails, ponds, small lakes and wildflowers. Booked a 2 hour trail ride with Dry Ridge Outfitters which was well managed, circling a lake, through the woods with deer, wildflowers, and views of the Tetons.

We go cross country skiing here every year, and we love it! We have been doing this for 32 years and will continue this tradition for the foreseeable future.

Fun place to bike, and hike. Absolutely beautiful trails. The trails can be quite muddy at time so give it a few days to dry before riding after a rain. If you like bird watching there are many stunning birds and the trails let you get up close with the lake shore to see them. Don't forget your bug spray though as the mosquitoes can be bad in the spring.

Amazing place and best place to get a faraway snap of Tetons. Enthusiastic photographers must visit this place early in the morning where they could capture photo of Tetons with alpenglow 🤩 We missed it and interested folks could make use of this opportunity 😇
Norris Geyser Basin is the hottest geothermal area in Yellowstone National Park. It offers a museum, trails, and geysers for visitors to explore. If you're interested in the history of the National Park Service, a quick stop at the Park Ranger Museum on your way to Mammoth is worth it. Norris Geyser Basin also provides an opportunity for a short walk to stretch your legs and take in the morning scenery.
Norris Geyser Basin has pristine geysers and lots of unique geothermal features. The area is less well developed as a tourist spot and that may add to its lure. The porcelain basin has an otherworldly landscape of textures and looks, bubbling hot pots, and acrid fumes that fill the air. You can feel them up close. There is a lot to see in the back basin, but the boardwalk is in a state of disrepair that needs to be addressed. We would like to go back to explore the basin place further.

A wonderful place with many interesting thermal features. The steam boat geyser is very colorful in the winter and also it has many interesting steam pools.
During the winter this location is accessible only by the snow coaches operated by many tour companies.

This is a basin in Yellowstone National Park 🏞️ with a lot of geysers in it. This looked really active with a lot of geysers erupting. The loop walk around basin was great. The emerald spring was particularly beautiful. Definitely a must visit.

Amazing beauty, diversity of nature wonders, all in one place! Thanks, John, the great guide from Yellowstone Vacation Tours, for making this our first long stop!
Elahe Javadi — Google review
One of the places in Yellowstone you should definitely go. Too many active geysers. My picks- Emerald Pool, Steamboat Geyser and Porcelain Basin. The place will smell like rotten eggs due to the sulphur content.
Karan — Google review
A basin full of geysers. There are 2 parts for the basin, Porcelain basin and Back basin. Both are equally beautiful.
Porcelain basin is very big, but you can see complete basin and all the geyser from overlook point. The colors are very nice and unique.
On the other, Back basin is not single basin as it has subparts. The steamboat is nice.
Since Yellowstone has many geysers like this, you may seem disinterested if you have already seen old faithful and grand prismatic. But trust me it has its own beauty. A nice place to spend some time.
Saurabh Darekar — Google review
Been here during August 2019 and was my first ever trip to YNP.
I found Norris Geyser Basin with all different geysers located there really so beautiful. Mind you... it was really warm walking around there but then again, so typical for being around geysers. I would visit again and again if I could!
Wait for the "Steamboat Geyser" to go off 😁
Hope you enjoy my picts.

I feel like steamboat geyser was more majestic than old faithful. Very cool.

If google didn’t limit me from posting all the photos I took I would have put them all! It was so beautiful and there are 2 loops one .6 miles and one 1.6 miles. The loops have totally different gysers and we did both loops! Definitely do them both!

Entire trail loop was just so pretty during sunset! It was interesting and informative to learn about the geothermal features and experience some of them first-hand.

This is a must do part of your Yellowstone Park experience. It’s a big loop to walk and you get bro see a lot of geothermal activity. Stay on the trail. It’s dangerous (possibly deadly) to go off the trail and get close to the scalding hot water/mud!

You never know what to expect at Norris; Yellowstone'most active region. We were very fortunate to see several geysers, that have long dormant periods, erupting. There are two parts, given the large area but both require you to be in reasonable shape and involve steep hills.
Lee Minett — Google review
Fascinating to see all this geothermal activity in a whole valley from up close. One can only assume, what immense energy is to be found in the inside of our planet, that water on the surface is cooked in the way to be observed at Norris Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park. For safety reasons, guests are only allowed to walk on a boardwalk that forms a circle of about a mile. However, as impressive the large gas clouds may look, they do smell like rotten eggs, but it's still worthwhile seeing this place.
Dietrich Starkmann — Google review
This place is amazing! Easy access to the paths and really cool features. One of our favorite geyser basins during the trip!
Visiting Yellowstone in winter entails dealing with a substantial amount of snow. To explore the park's interior during this time, private snow coaches are utilized. These vehicles have spacious interiors equipped with large side windows and pop-top roof hatches, providing unobstructed 360-degree views of the landscape and wildlife. Additionally, they offer ample room for both camera equipment and winter gear.
This is by far the main spot I wanted to see at Yellowstone. A gigantic colorful pool! However - due to the time of year (early spring), it was covered thickly in steam and you could not really enjoy it at all. I would love to come back in summer. I would also love to get a higher view.

Grand Prismatic Springs was by far the highlight of my trip through Yellowstone!
The entire boardwalk loop around the whole thing just left you awestruck by its natural beauty. The vibrant array of colors was surreal to see in person and the photos captured by your cameras will probably never do it full justice.
There were also plenty of local guides to give you pertinent information as you make your way around the loop. Parking was a nightmare however but that was to be expected I suppose...
Adam — Google review
It's a good stop with a boardwalk (no railings) running around the different pools. However, much of their beauty is found from above so to truly get a great view, you need to hike a separate trail to the Grand Prismatic Springs overlook, starting at Fairy Falls parking lot.
Lee Minett — Google review
Amazing place with Incredible view of the Grand Prismatic Spring! 😍 Definitely recommend doing the small hike to the Overlook for amazing captures. All the smaller pools are photogenic areas as well.
Ashutosh Tripathi — Google review
I’m sure it is gorgeous in summer, but if you are going in winter, you may not be able to even see it due to steam coming off of it. The boardwalk out to it is nice and easy to walk.
Tanya Wallace — Google review
If you are visiting the most magical National Park the. You must stop at Grand Prismatic Springs to check out the amazing colors and hot spring pools. You can get great pictures from the boardwalk or there is a trail head that leads you up about a mile hike to a great view for better views. YOU MUST STAY ON THE BOARDWALK. These are very delicate ecosystems and when you walk on them it destroys them or worse yourself. And remember if you see wildlife stay a minimum of 25 yards away.
Corey Brill — Google review
Beautiful... short hike to see the grand prismatic spring from the top... the only thing is it is really crowded from 9am to 12 pm... plus since it has been raining there are a lot of mosquitos so take your bug spray! But beautiful 😍

The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Its vibrant, rainbow-like colors against the backdrop of the natural surroundings are a sight to behold. What makes the experience even more special is the short hike that leads you to an elevated viewpoint, offering a breathtaking perspective of this geological wonder. Walking along the boardwalk and gazing down at the brilliantly hued waters is a mesmerizing experience. It's a must-see natural wonder that showcases the incredible beauty and geothermal wonders of Yellowstone. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this stunning marvel of nature and take that short hike for an even more memorable view when visiting the park.

Recommend getting there around 9am, hike to the falls passed the springs. By the time you return the morning mist and the like will have burned off and the view of the spring will be best. The colors are just as the pics show, very vibrant and unique. We even saw a bison and other wildlife which was a bonus.

Near Old Faithful Geyser. Don't miss this place! Time of day, season, water flow and weather effects the coloration. Don't expect the colors that you see on postcards.

Words cannot explain this magical place. Worth doing board walk along with the Fairy Falls overlook (1 mile round trip, pretty easy hike). Parking is bit tricky but doable.
Always prefer post noon visit as in the morning the visibility is low.

It was an okay crowd in the afternoon and would suggest to park on the road and walk to here. To get the absolute mesmerizing view, do the Prismatic Overlook loop by parking near Fairy Falls trailhead.
Priyanka Reddy — Google review
Grand Prismatic Spring can be described as a gigantic painting, a masterpiece by nature. It has a massive deep blue center like a gemstone surrounded by radiant red, golden, and brown color corona. The colors and pattens shift constantly depending on how light is shining, and as fog comes and goes. It is best to start by taking-in an aerial view from Fairly Falls trail. And then experience it up and close from the boardwalk; it’s entrance is located a short drive from the falls. Afternoon sun is the best time as it burns off fog and the fiery colors are in full display. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

One of my favorite places to visit while visiting Yellowstone is Grand Prismatic Spring.
Just stunning views and the colors are just unbelievable. Takes my breath away each time.
A long line of cars to enter each time for the parking spots, but well worth the wait to get into the area to see the Grand Prismatic Spring.

Absolutely stunning. If you must see only one thing in Yellowstone, this is it!! This is hands down my favorite place in the park.
Pro Tip: parking is a cluster. Park on the roadside before getting there and walk the rest of the way there.

Beautiful. Only detractors were a) the idiots within arm's reach of a buffalo didn't get gored, and b) every single RV/bus parking spot was taken by a single car. No doubt about it, beauty draws the absolute worst amongst us.

Go midday when it's sunny!!
The tips are spot-on. As our pics show, we first went on a rainy day. The boardwalk view was only steam. Then we hiked up to the viewpoint on a sunny day - right as a storm was moving in, but before it rained. Incredible!
When visiting Yellowstone in winter, you'll need private snow coaches to access the park's interior. These winter-worthy vehicles offer 360-degree views of the landscape and animals, providing unique photographic opportunities. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, with its thousand-foot-deep gorge and stunning waterfalls like Upper and Lower Falls, can be captured on camera from both rims of the canyon. In summer, guided hiking tours through this breathtaking canyon offer amazing views and a chance to witness its large waterfalls firsthand.
Quite stunning. Actually much more impressive than the actual Grand Canyon.

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a picturesque place with canyons and a river cutting through the middle. It has a lot of viewing points and the canyons look amazing. There are a couple of half a mile to a mile treks here to see a nice view of the grand canyon. It also has a the upper and the lower water falls which are beautiful and you get to sit near the waterfall as well. A definite must visit on your trip to Yellowstone National Park.

Beautiful spot in Yellowstone and it was in my top 5 of places to visit in this national park.
We went on May 6th and just could had access to 2 view points (some paths were close due to snow) so if you want to see the waterfall from a closer place I'd recommend to go later in the year but still, no matter when you go, this place is beautiful 😍

O what to say about this place! Very Unique and Very Beautiful!!! I’ve never seen such a beautiful canyon with colorful rocks and river! The trail down to ‘Brink of lower falls’ is a little less than 3/4th of a mile but the drop is about 270ft, therefore, walking down is super easy but coming back up needs a lot of effort, but it’s totally WORTH IT!!! Same deal with ‘Lower Lookout Point’. Inspiration point justifies the name!

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a breathtaking marvel with picturesque view of Yellowstone Falls. The canyon is a deep V-shaped valley with colorful orange, yellow, and pink canyon walls.
There are different viewpoints, we went to the Artist point on the south rim of Yellowstone. We were mesmerized by the rainbows accentuating the beauty of the canyon. Get there early to beat the crowds; the parking fills up fast. A must-visit natural wonder!

Experiencing the grandeur of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone for the first time was an awe-inspiring adventure that left me breathless. From the moment I set eyes on this natural wonder, I knew I was in for a remarkable journey. Guided by a dear friend, we spent many hours immersing ourselves in the unparalleled beauty of this majestic landscape.
As we ventured along the canyon's rim, the vistas that unfolded before us were nothing short of magnificent. The vibrant colors of the canyon walls, ranging from golden hues to deep reds, were intensified by the perfect weather. The sunlight danced upon the cascading waterfalls that plunged into the depths, creating an ethereal atmosphere.
Despite its fame, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone didn't feel overly crowded, allowing us to truly savor the experience. We found moments of solitude to appreciate the tranquil surroundings and soak in the awe-inspiring views.
The power and force of nature were on full display as the Yellowstone River carved its way through the canyon, sculpting breathtaking cliffs and creating a tapestry of geological wonders. It was a humbling reminder of the immense forces that have shaped our planet over millions of years.
The sheer scale of the canyon was impossible to fully comprehend, even with hours of exploration. Each viewpoint revealed a new perspective, showcasing nature's ability to create both grand spectacles and intricate details. From Artist Point to Uncle Tom's Trail, every spot offered its own unique allure.
Visiting the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was an unforgettable experience that will forever hold a special place in my heart. Its untouched beauty, combined with the perfect weather and a dear friend's company, made it a journey I will cherish for a lifetime.

Roughly 24 miles long canyon is one of the most beautiful places I have been to.
The Artist Point peninsula in Yellowstone National Park is a scenic location offering breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River and its cascading waterfalls. Although finding this spot can be challenging without a paper map due to poor GPS and phone reception, it is worth the effort as there is no need for much walking to enjoy the stunning sights. Ranger-led tours are available for those seeking more information about this picturesque destination.
Definitely a great vantage point with nearly no walk required to view the Yellowstone waterfalls.

The Old Faithful Inn, a renowned National Historic Landmark, is a remarkable log structure constructed in the early 1900s using local materials. It features uncomplicated rooms and suites, along with a restaurant, lounge, and an iconic fireplace. The lobby stands tall at 76 feet (23 meters), showcasing an impressive stone hearth and a meticulously crafted copper and wood clock. This grand inn, considered the largest of its kind globally, is highly sought after by visitors to Yellowstone National Park.
The Grand Lobby will leave you speechless. It is fabulous. We walked around and admired how it holds together, we also went to the upper floors, admired big clocks, something like an elevator.... We cannot imagine how this lobby could be maintained and not fall apart. It is beautiful. Seeing this lobby was much more fulfilling than seeing the eruption of Old Faithful Geyser.
In the middle of May we didn't have any problem with parking, and it wasn't crowded with tourists.
From the Internet: The Grand Lobby, known as the Old House, is one of the largest log structures in the world. Completed in 1904, it has unique decorative features including etched glass panels, a large stone fireplace, and balcony verandas overlooking Old Faithful Geyser Basin. Wooden columns, hickory furniture, and an antique handcrafted clock add to the Old Faithful Inn's classic appeal.

The views and everything is absolutely beautiful, the service was great, now for the room that we had was a different story, it was extremely small, the bed was uncomfortable , the smell of dust in the room was very strong it could have been since it was the opening weekend of the hotel but unknown. I would highly recommend the snow lodge for a comfort room which is located right behind this one.

In terms of a place to stay, I'd say 3-star. But the experience itself is 4-star. I love historical or old building, it has a rustic cabin feeling. I stay in their "old " section of the building (there are newer one too). Bathroom is shared but it has the touch of luxury, so not that bad honestly.
They have great breakfast, they also have musician playing at certain time, friendly staff, you also get a good view of old faithful.
I don't give it 5 stars because their fire alarm goes off in the middle of the night at 2am lucky it's not winer. I don't know how often this happens but definitely a minus. I won't stay here in the wintertime for sure.

This is an historic hotel with nice touches but no frills. The lobby is an experience all on its own: vaulted ceiling, live music (violin, piano), large stone fireplace, comfy areas for relaxing. You are right next to the most active geysers in the park and I recommend getting out to see them all, especially early in the morning before it gets crowded. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I loved everything about staying here! We visited in the summer after the flood, so getting a hotel room was easy and the rates were lower than normal it seemed. You cannot beat the architecture, the quaintness, and the convenience of staying at this hotel. Though the old yellow hotel in the Presidential Suite was the best place we’ve ever stayed here in the park. We camped also. I had bear terrors all night. At Old Faithful I felt safe. If you plan on eating at any restaurants in the park you must have reservations.

Before the Pandemic. My family went on a Vacation on Yellowstone. And we took a tour guide to see Old Faithful at the Old Faithful Inn which is really good experience and I enjoy seeing Old Faithful geyser up. And I also enjoy the tour inside the Old Faithful Inn which is a good architectural of the Old Faithful Inn. And I also got a Cookie which is Gluten Free. So this is one of the best Nature Trip I see. Even though this is a dark difficult time. But when I see the Picture of Old Faithful it will give me hope for a better tomorrow.

Approaching the hotel we saw an impressive log building. The foyer was equally impressive. Unfortunately if fell away after that.
They certainly take advantage of their relative isolation and location and charge an exorbitant amount for accommodation- basically a closet that delivered a really poor experience. We booked a queen bed and barely got a double, with tiny flat pillows looking over the back lot of the hotel.
Paper thin walls meant a noisy night.
The restaurant is a all you can eat abomination that you should stay clear of.
A seriously disappointing stay.
Go for the experience because that’s all you will get!
Would I stay here again? NO! Camp instead and save yourself the expense and disappointment.

This historic inn is awesome! Both grand and cozy at the same time. Our room was an old house queen with private bath, and it was perfect! Clean, comfortable, and so much character. We could even see the geyser basin from our window! I loved hanging out in the lobby and walking right outside to see old faithful, bison, and the upper geyser basin. The bar was great, but I would not recommend eating on site. Bring your own food, and don't come hungry. That was the only downside.

What else can I say other than perfect. As a local I always visit, but I never stayed here. So I decided to try it out and boy was it worth it. When you get your key, someone shows you where your room is for easy access. The beds were very comfy and the view was nice looking down basin. The room was very quiet. It's super convenient, located next to the snow lodge, and only an hour walk to Morning Glory Pool. If you get the opportunity to stay here, please do. You will find your inner peace staying here. A perfect hotel.

This place is so cool! We got one of the "cheap" rooms in the Old House, right off the big historic lobby. This made it noisy until about 10pm, but it quieted quickly. The rooms and beds were nicely furnished. The radiator kept the room toasty; we actually had to open the windows for some cooler air. No private bathroom, but a sink in the room made washing hands and brushing teeth easy. A piano player serenaded with jazz until 10pm, and everyone was helpful.
Shannon Geisinger — Google review
So seriously no one goes here for the hotel — you go for the geysers!!! But for being built in 1903 there is some major history and wonderment here. The grand lobby is beautiful. The rooms are small and quaint and more than adequate for the little amount of time you are going to spend in them.
The staff are friendly and professional and beyond helpful!!!! Go hiking — there are so many wonderful trails to go explore and immerse yourself in all things Yellowstone and Old Faithful!!
So yes if you get one of the cheaper rooms — it will NOT include a bathroom. This was not an issue as the community bathrooms were more than satisfactory — we never had issues getting into them for whatever needs — yes the restrooms had private stalls for showers and toilets. They provide robes for you to wear. Bring flip flops!
The rooms with private baths were 2.5 times as expensive.

We stayed here in May 2023, very early in the season. The history and nostalgic factor are definitely worth it.
Rooms are smaller than average, but your staying in a historic hotel.
We stayed in the Old house, which were the first rooms opened in the Inn, there is no I room bathroom, but there are shared bathroom and showers.
Things were very clean, they have a free historic tour of the inn, which was very interesting and made the stay even more enjoyable.

DO NOT GO HERE. There was NO communication about what the restaurant was. No one told us that it was a buffet until we sat down. The wait staff were NOT helpful. Our waiter literally just came up to the table and said "I am only here to get you drinks". When we asked for a menu, he said "The buffet is over there, help yourself. But you get a HOT and a COLD beverage included." I'm not sure HOW that was a selling point as all we wanted was water. The food was AWFUL. We could only identify three items there and none of it looked all that edible. We paid $20.00 a plate and only ate half. This was the only terrible experience we had in Yellowstone.

Really neat place to stay. All the pictures are within walking distance of the inn. Just a very cool old building. Don't expect luxury rooms. Rooms are very simple and to the point. But we weren't there to stay in the room. The main lobby and balcony were really nice places to hang out. Very busy place.

Lovely old hotel, with such a great history. We can watch the Old Faithful geyser shoot up from our rooms, or from comfortable porches. We're looking forward to exploring all the nooks and crannies. Loved the live music in the evening.

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. I had very high expectations for staying at Old Faithful Inn. I love all things National Park and have stayed at or dined at several historical National Park hotels. The history, location, and lobby did not disappoint and are the only aspects why the trip didn't get a lower rating. The room was okay, the service is lacking, and dining was dismal. All while being a super expensive stay. I would look into a different hotel in the park in the future but definitely would never stay at Old Faithful Inn again and would have a hard time recommending it to anyone.
Colleen Eyssautier — Google review
The benefit of staying at this hotel is the location. It is only steps away from Old Faithful and you can also see the famous geyser from the large hotel balcony. We woke up early and walked around the geysers before it got crowded. It made for a memorable trip. It is a older hotel and with a interesting history. We took the tour of the property and enjoyed it quite a bit.
We stayed in the "newer" wing on the hotel. The rooms are smaller but adequate and the staff is courteous. It is essentially a two star hotel that with a five star price. You are paying for the location which is hard to beat. I doubt I stay there again, but enjoyed the experience.

Great place to relax and have some snacks/drinks. Recommend trying the huckleberry ice cream. The top deck offers seating with view of the old faithful geyser but make sure to reach ahead of time to get the front row seats.

Best location but the Inn as far as accommodations is nostalgic but still minimalist for the price you pay. On site service is not good at restaurant, food is not good as week considering the average price per person for dinner is about $40pp. Would recommend staying at Snow lodge. Better food, service and rooms unless you really want the nostalgia.

You have to see this place! It’s positively amazing! There’s a tour of it every couple hours starting at the fireplace. I’d suggest spending the day around old faithful geyser. There’s so much to see in this area and so much to learn about the park, its history and the geology of this whole area. We ate lunch at the old faithful inn’s restaurant and it was pretty good. The buffet didn’t look great so we ordered off the menu. Had the bison burger which was good.

We stayed in a 1 Queen Old House room with no bathroom. Hotel was BEAUTIFUL! Room was pretty large, and had a comfortable bed. Big sink in the room. Not having a bathroom was a bit of an inconvenience, but the communal bathrooms were right down the hall and were very clean and updated so it was not a big deal. Highly recommend!

An amazing place. I've heard others seeing it for the first time and can't believe how huge and beautiful the place is. The stone fireplace with a clock. Two floors overlooking the lobby after coming from your room from each wing. An upper deck outside of the second floor to watch Old Faithful and sunrise. Yes there are 2 places to eat, a bar and a gift shop.

Great old time rustic log cabin inn. This lodging more than the others I stayed at in Yellowstone really takes you back in time (Please Note: no WiFi). You can imagine seeing Teddy Roosevelt himself walking the halls.
The evening ritual of sitting around the open area facing your fellow travelers while listening to live music is equally amusing to observe as it is to partake. Staying here is truly an experience.

The room was very old and in need of an update, but our main frustration was the lack of food. Given the lodge is in the middle of the park and no where near anything, I would have expected food options available at the hotel. But the options were so limited which meant you couldn't get a reservation. In the morning we ate breakfast at the cafe and it was a very poor standard. Given the cost of this hotel I would expect far better. Such a shame as it has so much potential given the beauty of the main lodge and the location. But certainly can't recommend.

When I found out how much our room cost from my husband I was floored. For $500+ a night, I was expecting something nice. Instead, we were were given a room right next to the exit doors and could hear every step the person made upstairs and didn't sleep. They changed our room with the noise upstairs to a room even tinnier and next to an vending machine.

Okay - there are two separate experiences here. 1) Visiting the Inn and admiring the “parkitecture” and 2) staying in a room here.
For visiting, I’d highly recommend the free tours that meet at the fireplace that happen 4-5x/day. The schedule is on a placard near the fireplace. It really is a spectacular building.
For staying, I’d recommend NOT here. We were assigned a room in the newest part (built in the 1920s I believe). I felt like the steerage in Titanic getting to that room. Tiny rooms with worn (not simply antique) furniture. The radiator clanked randomly all night and kept waking me up. I slept like poo. For the price point (over $600/night!!) I couldn’t believe the lack of quality.
In addition, we were here at the near end of season (late September) and many hotel staff just seemed over it and almost disdainful that the park remained as busy as it was. This is disappointing because for most people visiting Yellowstone & Old Faithful area is a once in a lifetime experience & expenditure.
So, visit and spend time at the Inn. Stay elsewhere and save yourself next-day drowsiness and spend the hundreds of dollars you saved on a nice meal or something. Just make sure if you’re in the OF area for dinner you have reservations!

I have not stayed here but took a tour of this place when I visited the park.
The Old Faithful Inn is a true gem within Yellowstone National Park, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable lodging experience. This historic lodge, dating back to 1904, combines rustic charm with breathtaking natural surroundings to create an enchanting atmosphere.
Upon arrival, you're immediately struck by the inn's impressive architecture, featuring a massive log structure with towering ceilings and a grand stone fireplace in the lobby. The scent of aged timber and the crackling of the fire evoke a sense of nostalgia, transporting you to a bygone era of wilderness exploration.
In the tour, I got a glimpse of some of the rooms, they are all designed with a rustic aesthetic that complements the park's surroundings. While the rooms may not offer modern luxuries like flat-screen TVs or air conditioning, they provide a genuine sense of immersion in the natural world of Yellowstone.
One of the inn's most cherished features is the spectacular view it offers of Old Faithful Geyser. Many rooms and the lobby provide front-row seats to the geyser's regular eruptions, allowing guests to witness this geological wonder from the comfort of their lodgings.
It's worth noting that, due to its popularity, securing reservations at the Old Faithful Inn can be a challenge, especially during peak tourist seasons. However, the experience is well worth the effort, offering a true taste of history and the wilderness that defines Yellowstone National Park.
In conclusion, the Old Faithful Inn is a historic treasure nestled within one of America's most iconic national parks. It offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the park's natural beauty while enjoying the rustic charm of a bygone era. If you're seeking an unforgettable lodging experience in Yellowstone, this inn should be at the top of your list.

The Old Faithful Visitor Center is a tourist attraction in the United States that is situated near Yellowstone National Park. The visitor center has exhibits on geology and also provides information on when the famous geyser, Old Faithful, is likely to erupt. The center is open throughout the year, but there are two months-long closed periods in the fall (mid-November through mid-December) and spring (mid-March through mid-April).
Lots to learn and friendly rangers.
Spend time in the visitor center, they explain a lot, and the have stuff for kids to do and lear. As well adults.
Entry is free to the visitor center and to walk around. You just have to have a ticket to get into Yellowstone park, as with all National Parks in the US.
There are boardwalks /pathways around the difference vents or geysers and hot pools with labels telling you which they are.
Stay on the boardwalks! Seriously for your own safety.
You'll sometimes see wildlife like bison around the geysers and hot pools.

This visitor’s center is pretty cool. It’s situated right near Old Faithful. There is a small “museum” area and they also show films about the park and the geyser. There were several park rangers there for any questions. Everything in this area is within walking distance. From West Yellowstone it’s about 30 minutes or so.
Wade Williams — Google review
I was there during the winter. They have the geyser eruption predictions and I didn’t find the staff very helpful with information. I wish the ranger had information about the colorful geysers in the upper geysers basin.
They have restrooms and the store was also open. The store had many interesting books about Yellowstone and Yellowstone souvenirs
Hannibal Bauliah — Google review
The Centre was informative and beautiful.
Much like many other National Parks Visitors Centres. The Junior Ranger program booklet was $3 for some reason?? We haven't paid for any of the previous 11 Junior Ranger badges or books that my children now have.
I would also say that Old Faithful is not that exciting after going to the Painted Pots down the road. What a show we received there.
The park is beautiful and the Visitor center is standard. Much more congested than most except.maybe Arches, UT.

During my stay at Yellowstone National Park I've decided to also visit the Old Faithful Geyser and the Visitor Center belonging to it.
Since my visit took place on a Sunday, it was very full there. It was interesting learning something new about Geysers in the visitor center and my 3 year old daughter also enjoyed the information provided to her in the kid's corner. Staff was friendly.
The visitor can always see on a chart in the inside, when the next eruption of the geyser is to take place. However, that's not an exact science and therefore it makes sense go be at the observation point 10 min earlier. Due to a strong-headed kid wanting to stay in one of the gift shops longer, we missed the actual eruption of Old Faithful on that day, but still had a good time at the place.
Dietrich Starkmann — Google review
Definitely stop here and talk to the rangers to get the most up-to-date information regarding the park. Stop and watch the movie. They have a great interactive area to visit. With the huge windows, you can see Old Faithful from inside the visitor center. There is also a small gift shop inside.
Donna Smith — Google review
Liked the visit. A lot of educational activities. This is where the kids can pick up the jr ranger packs to earn the badges. Overheard the staff person at the counter making a big deal to the kiddo that had completed all their activities, which the kid was very excited about. Very nice of her to recognize that. 15 minute video is educational. Worth a visit. They have a board with approximate eruption times within +/-10 minutes. Can even see old faithful erupt easily from inside. Glad I stopped in.

When the topic of national parks comes up, Yellowstone is easily the most well-known and arguably overhyped. I only stopped there because it was on my route while driving cross country. It's turned out to be the highest of my trip. I would go so far as saying it is an absolute must-see. It's simply amazing.
Gary Callahan — Google review
So beautiful geyser worth waiting visiting central prediction time is perfect if you go weekend or any public holiday it’s crowded crazy busy and there’s are some good seating benches and if you go little bit early you may can see other geyser eruptions because it’s has a some small geyser on the trills it’s a flat wooden path trills and wheel chair accessible to be careful no fence or barriers to the both sides be careful with little kids because it’s a hydrothermal vents

Very nice place to stop and take in Old Faithful, and learn a out Yellowstone. They have a 20-minute information video that you can watch before going to explore.
Old Faithful Inn is a great place to stay. Stop by the Old Faithful cafeteria for a snack, a coffee at the coffee shop, or a souvenir at the gift shop.
A few different hikes are available, and each offers different views of many of the 300 geysers around the area.
Angela Miller — Google review
Awesome place to visit! Saw Old faithful erupt before the visitor opened. Arrived and people were already sitting waiting for Old faithful. When it erupted it was an amazing thing to see. The walkway is nice and easy for anyone to use. There are many other geysers to see here. Beautiful place. The visitor center is amazing it shows a movie 30mnts before Old faithful erupts and 10 mini afterwards.

A very clean and modern building. In the main lobby they post the next time Old Faithful is going to irrupt plus or -10 minutes.
Helpful staff (rangers, Boo Boo! 😉)

An absolute must see! The first time we went it happened to be on a national park day so the entry was free. Didn’t even realized until we got there so that was a cool plus. The park is absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to visit again!

What can you add that hasn't been said. Other than go to see the big geysers like Old Faithful and Steamboat early in the morning or late afternoon. The hours between 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM are absolutely insane because of the number of tourists trying to see them on bus service

Five stars for the park. ONE star for the road safety.
Please, please ban bicycles from the roads! It's dangerous for the riders to be out there where they can become prey, but worse for the drivers of the cars. Even when traveling at or below the speed limit there's nothing worse than coming around a blind corner and encountering a moron on a bicycle in the middle of the road. We were traveling with our F250 and travel trailer and almost had several accidents because of these fools. We had to emergency brake FOUR different times to avoid a bike. That's not easy to do when traveling at 35 mph with a 15k pound rig. It doesn't stop on a dime. The people behind us had no idea it was coming and couldn't see anything except our trailer. I'm surprised we didn't have a car in our camper's living room! We even encountered big tour groups of them - including kids no more than SEVEN years old! That the heck are people thinking?! That yellow triangle doesn't make it safe for those kids!! Somebody's gonna get killed. I know if I have to choose between running my family into an oncoming tour bus or hitting a bike - that biker is going under my truck.

Hayden Valley is a picturesque and tranquil location in Yellowstone National Park, featuring expansive grasslands alongside the Yellowstone River. It is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including iconic species such as bison, grizzly bears and elk. Visitors to Hayden Valley can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty and may be lucky enough to spot some of the park's resident fauna. With green valleys and clear skies providing a scenic backdrop, this area is well worth exploring on foot or by car.
Nice place with lots of Bisons. Valley is green and you can catch glimpse of rainbow on clear day.

Hayden Valley is a wildlife photographer's dream. I have never seen such wildlife anywhere. You will find hundreds of bison just basking in the sun and feeding. Coyotes and wolves once in a while. Bears if you are lucky and plenty of birds as well. I would recommend spending atleast a couple of hours if not more here. Have the super telephoto lens ready and the light is usually perfect for the pictures. You can even visit early morning to watch sunrise with the wildlife. It's just lit. You will meet other wildlife enthusiasts here as well.

Hayden Valley is a wildlife enthusiast's dream! Located in Yellowstone National Park, this alpine valley offers an incredible opportunity to observe diverse wildlife up close. The Yellowstone River along the valley made the wildlife visit here.
From majestic bison and elk to elusive grizzly bears and wolves, you'll be amazed by the variety of creatures that visit frequently. Remember to respect the rules and stay on designated paths to preserve the natural habitat and ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife. If wildlife are roaming around make sure the rangers are over there to safely park and come out of your car. An unforgettable experience awaits you here!

Great place to see wildlife, especially buffalo. We were visiting during rut season (late August). Allowed for some close pictures with a telephoto lens. There is a 25-50 foot distance from wildlife rule within the park. Enjoy the majestic animals of Yellowstone.

Excellent area for viewing wildlife, of course more often visible at dawn, secondly at sunset. Be patient with other drivers - some are there for the first time and they're just excited. Don't get within 25 yards of bison (see photo), 100 yards from wolves or grizzlies.

Majestic drive if you can make it for sunrise or sunset. Sunset will have a lot more traffic. Heards of bison are a frequent sight.
.
At Mud Volcano, you can expect to see boiling mud pits and geysers. This is a unique tourist attraction that is perfect for those that want to see some spooky action after seeing some wildlife.
My favorite place of all. Hard to believe this boiling hot mud. Take the stairs side to go up. Could be a difficult climb and this side is shaded and resting platforms. The other side is a straight up hill path. Much easier to come down. Fascinating!

Shockingly awesome geothermal area. Due to the proximity of Hayden valley (I’m assuming), there were bison there enjoying the warmth. Great pictures. Definitely a must stop.

I try to make it pass this site every time I am in the park. The steam is always different depending on the weather. There has been bison in the area the last 3 times I have been there. They just like the water. Be mindful they do get close to the walkways.

It was interesting. Mud volcanoes really talk, and (ha-ha) smell. I was waiting for a little dragon picking out of the cave. Saw bisons drinking from one of the pools ,and to my enjoyment ,I was standing on the bridge feeding safe.

Mud valcano area has numerous small mud volcanoes in its vicinity. Takes about 30 minutes to completely see all of them. Great parking area.

Mud Volcano is a fascinating natural wonder! Witness the remnants of a once-active 30 ft cone now transformed into a bubbling mud crater. The steep muddy eruptions are impressive. However, the pungent acerbic odor may not be for everyone. Still, it's a unique experience worth exploring!

All the geological features of Yellowstone are 5 stars. This short loop walk is worth the time and the larger views from the boardwalk are also wonderful. Parking here is close to capacity and maybe a bit overflowing but it is worth it!
Located on the Lewis River in Yellowstone National Park, Lewis Falls drops 30 feet. The easy roadside access makes it a very popular destination, and the falls are not high.
Such beautiful stop! Definitely worth to visit and take a break here!

Really beautiful waterfall. Only fully snowy waterfall in Yellowstone now due to its high altitude. Getting closer view is more difficult due to lots of snow on the hill now. But I guess it’s still doable considering the snow is still not stiff. Maybe someone can get closer than me. Even just see the river itself on the another side of bridge is amazing

your grand mother can see this from the road, stop for this attraction. don't keep speeding down the road to get the Old Faithful, it's not worth it to pass up everything else that YNP has to offer. frankly we were in the park for 4 days and never made it to old faithful basin and we were just as happy with all the hidden gems the park had to offer. we got our advice from "we're in the rockies" youtube channel and it was really helpful

The Lewis Falls are located on the Lewis River in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States. The falls drop approximately 30 feet and are easily seen from the road, halfway between the south entrance to the park and Grant Village. The falls are on the Lewis River, just south of Lewis Lake. I love waterfalls and this one is easy to get to. You can see it from the road and there is a parking area there or you can cross the bridge and walk a short distance to get a closer look. The falls is about 30ft tall but with a good amount of water falling. You might miss the falls driving Northeast, since the falls is around the bend. A trail takes you all the way up to the falls for a closer view. The falls is pretty and across from here on the other side, you may find bison on the meadow.
