Pickity Place
$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Fixed-price luncheons & a gift shop in a circa-1786 cottage & garden of Little Red Riding Hood fame.
Fascinating history, amazing food, attentive and polite wait staff, and refreshing beverages. They also have plenty of gift stores on site to take a piece of Pickity back home with you. The type of place that’s worth the 1 hour+ drive most folks will have to take to get the place that’s through the woods and over the river, to Pickity place you’ll go. Great for people of all ages and food preferences, and relatively affordable for a four course meal. Menu changes monthly!

Visiting and dining at Pickity Place is a unique and delightful experience. In regard to the dining, the taste and presentation of their selections is superb. The service is top notch. It is amazing how they are able to serve so many people so efficiently and expertly every day. They emphasize the connection of their establishment with the original Red Riding Hood illustrations, which is an enchanting theme. Many people we spoke with indicated that they make visiting Pickity Place a recurring experience; sometimes as often as once a month since that is the cycle of their changing menu. We will definitely be back again. Be forewarned, however, that getting there requires travelling some rough dirt roads for several miles.

Pickity Place is an experience and a truly wonderful one. Reservations are highly recommended. Absolutely amazing food and very friendly staff. Love the gift shop with something for everyone! Beautiful gardens throughout the property. If you're a 'foodie' you will really enjoy this gem.

What a magical place! Beautiful gardens, fabulous lunch menu utilizing the many fresh herbs grown here and interesting gift shop with unusual items and plants. The set menu changes each month and uses the lovely flavors of the season. Prepared delightfully, presented with flair in the little house that was the inspiration for “grandma’s house” in one authors edition of the Little Red Riding Hood story. Reservations are necessary for one of the 3 seatings. You won’t be disappointed!

This is such a quaint little spot A hidden gem, I am the pickiest eater, so I was a bit nervous about going but it was my daughter’s birthday and I wanted to please my daughter. Well to my surprise, I love it, the smoked tomato soup was amazing the Entree was super delicious, dessert was to die for, drinks were scrumptious, and the service was amazing, our server Ashley went beyond, she was pleasant, attentive, and super great. I highly recommend.

Lovely old house repurposed into a superb restaurant. Quaint outbuildings as greenhouse and gift shop. Food is meticulously prepared making for a enjoyable and memorable experience.
Homer Ray III — Google review
To be honest I think my expectations were very high. It's out in the woods, bumpy dusty road, zero handicap friendly, narrow doors. Cramped eating spaces, loud, conversations I want particularly wanting to hear as if I were seated at that table but you could literally reach from one table to another and grab a salt shaker. The food was good, but the serving sizes were off, my 80 year old aunt got a 5 Oz portion of blackberry glazed short rub and mine was barely 2. It was a unique experience, the plates looked pretty and it was 30.00 per person, for 5 people it was 200.00 tab

I love Pickety Place. The food is consistently wonderful. I've been 3 times, and I am never disappointed. The staff is wonderful, and very welcoming. You can tell they love working there. I live about an hour away, but it is definitely worth the drive over the river and through the woods to eat at grandmother's house.

Wow.. JUST WOW!! Honestly the best food I have ever had! So fresh and the flavors are remarkable. The atmosphere of the whole establishment is just unbeatable and like no other. I can’t rave enough about this place. Each meal I have had here has been so well put together and just want to say THANK YOU to the amazing chefs. I also have to say Amanda is such a great server! We have had her the last two times and she is the sweetest! Very pleasant and attentive. All the staff is great and welcoming. The Strawberry basil lemonade is to die for!!! Can’t say enough on how great our experiences were at Pickity place :) Will be back every month!!!

Had a great lunch today. Everything was delicious. I had mocha spiced coffee to drink, delicious. I chose chicken cordon blue for the entree and the chicken was moist and the cheese sharp, just the way I like it. After lunch I visited the gift shop to stock up on my favorite loose leaf tea blends and my friend stocked up on her favorite sea salts and spice blends. As always a great experience.

Getting here in February isn't easy, but oh so worth it! The property was magical with the snow and ice set off by the setting sun. And the food, delicious as always! I especially enjoyed the creamy 7 onion soup and the not-too-sweet red velvet whoopie pie with berry cream. Make the trip!

Had a really phenomenal experience dining here for a Sunday lunch! Although their menu states “we are not responsible for food allergies,” we were able to call in advance, and they kindly accommodated us and provided more information about the ingredients in each course. We also had a one year-old in the group, and the staff was truly understanding and even brought out a cookie for him to help calm him down!
The courses were filling, beautifully plated, and tasty. Highlights were the ripe melon soup and summer vegetable arancini! The complimentary drinks are lovely too—personal favorite was the strawberry basil lemonade.

This is a unique and great spot for lunch! A vegetarian and meat option for entrée. Great gift shops to check out while you wait for "the bell."

Went today for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! All the food was wonderful and was even able to accommodate and provide me sorbet for dessert due to an allergy! We made sure to pick up bottles of the mango lemonade and lavender lemonade in the gift shop to take home!

Visited here after a very long time since our last...let me tell you they haven't skipped a beat!
We had the February offering 5 course menu...changes every month!
Excellent service, delicious offerings prepared perfectly.
They do offer a very limited kids menu, but honestly my grandkids loved everything we had!
You must try this...we love it

Pickity is such a special place. My daughters love exploring the property, checking in on the fairy houses and wandering the store for fun things to bring home. The food menus are unique and delicious. I love the use of fresh herbs in the dishes. We’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. The waitstaff is also very friendly.

Superb dinning experience. Food was delicious, beautifully prepared, presentation was delightful. Wth five different courses, small portions but just right. You left the table satisfied and content. Excellent service, as it was my birthday they put a birthday candle on my desert and sang happy birthday to me!!
A sheer joy to spend my birthday at Pickity Place today. We will definitely be back!

This place was F-ing perfect. It was so perfect. Oh my GOODNESS. Had the March menu - my first time at Pickity.
Strawberry Lemonade? Insane
Tomato Soup? Banger
Mediterranean Salad? Certified Banger
Rolls & Red Pepper butter? Massive
Steak Diane? Nuclear
Carrot Cake / Keylime thing? Blew me away
I loved Pickity Place. And Poppy the Cat just chillin on a shelf of the gift shop was so bizarre that it just put a cherry on the whole thing. A must-try restaurant.

I have been going to Pickity Place for years. It is the perfect spot for a quaint luncheon date. The setting is right out of a storybook- "The Little Red Riding Hood," in fact. You will be greeted by one or more friendly cats as you walk the path around the gardens, leading to the 2 giftshops brimming with local goods. The food always tastes lovingly prepared, using fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables grown on site. They offer a 5 course menu with 2 entree selections, a vegetarian, and a meat option. The menu changes monthly, so there's always a new dish to try (and fall in love with). They offer 3 timely seatings daily, be sure to make a reservation! Enjoy! 🪻🌿

Such a wonderful place with a farm to table style of dining. Fixed limited menu which changes monthly and seasonally. Fabulous presentation. Also check out their plants, gift shop and gardens. Such a delight to explore. 2024 April their garden and gift shop was in full swing. Stunning place.
Gold-domed, 1819 capitol & seat of state legislature with a visitors' center, tours & a gift shop.
I visited inside years ago and watched a debate take place on an issue. I don't know what it looks like inside now, but, the outside looks great with the golden dome shining in the sun or lights at night. The grounds look great and are popular. I've sat across the street at the Barley House and had dinner 🍲 outside with the State House for my view. I've had breakfast on a bench in front of the building. I've taken my kids. Christmas 🎄 display is nice. I hope to visit inside again on day.
Update: Sunday evening 🌆, December 2021; I still enjoy the Christmas 🎄 decorations and lights at night!

Filled with impressive historical artifacts, paintings, flags, and other memorabilia, this beautiful building is a place you definitely need to see if you are in the area!!

A pretty state house building in a nice city! Didn't get to do inside tour, but just seeing the outside was neat! Very clean area and safe too!

The New Hampshire State House stands as a historic emblem of civic pride. Its architectural grandeur exudes a sense of tradition and democracy. The golden dome is a beacon atop Concord, reflecting sunlight and historical significance. The interior is equally impressive, adorned with intricate woodwork and historical artifacts. Guided tours offer insightful glimpses into the state's legislative process and rich history. However, limited accessibility and parking pose challenges. The State House's role in shaping New Hampshire's governance is undeniable, making it a must-visit for history enthusiasts and those curious about the democratic process.

The ambassadors (Pat and Maureen) were very friendly and knowledgeable. I was given a tour by Mrs. Pat who was kind enough to do so because I am a volunteer at the MS State Capitol.
The MS State Capital is of higher quality and much bigger but capital does have recent renovations that are very nice.
The grounds are beautiful and I actually saw a couple on blanket having a picnic. They are renovating gift shop. I was able to purchase pins thanks to Mrs. Vanessa.
The history of building and individual portraits are very interesting. Definitely peaked my curiosity. They also have a hall of governors on 2nd floor. The painting on first floor of Battle of Gettysburg is very nice and has a unique history of how it ended up in state house. It peaked my desire to visit Gettysburg, PA.
What I truly love about New Hampshire is that they have a system of checks and balances for all branches of government. The old way of politics which worked much better for the people and deterred corruption.
The first floor has flags that were carried during military battles. Some are very old but it’s so interesting that they keep and maintain.
What I really enjoyed was having opportunity to go into chambers. It is allowed when legislators aren’t in session. This is not allowed in MS State Capital.
I highly recommend touring this state house as it will leave you wanted to know more about New Hampshire’s history and those who served in legislature.

This is a beautiful old historical building and you can actually watch the state senate and house in session in the observatory rooms.

Nice stop on our way through. Walked around the facility and it was very pretty, shaded and flat ground. Area in front had several restaurants and store fronts fun to see.
Amanda Guzik — Google review
You can visit the state house (and for free)! When the representatives and the senators are not in session, you can get a guided tour in the building. However, when they are in session, you can go watch the meetings, which, for me, is even nicer! Very welcoming environment.
Raony França — Google review
Looks like a capitol building from the outside. Not big. Looks like an office building inside. I like that they didn't spend excessive amounts of tax money on this building. Nice Senate chamber, touted to be the oldest original one still in use. Lovely entry hall full of flags. They let you enter theoythe main entrance. Plenty of street parking available at $.50/hr. Friendly staff and nice gift shop.
Jan Smith — Google review
The State House in Concord is one of the coolest State Houses I have seen. It is a living museum that is very well laid out to allow visitors and still function as an active government building. The grounds surrounding the building are beautiful and very well taken care of, and when you enter the building you are dropped into a lobby that is surrounded by flags used throughout many major U.S. military conflicts. They also have an incredible visitor center with a very helpful staff.
Luke Salyer — Google review
Nicely done but with control. The garden in front has several statues of important figures in the history of New Hampshire including Daniel Webster. I did not go inside, but the exterior is very appropriate for a seat of state government.

Canterbury Shaker Village
Museum
Sights & Landmarks
19th-century Shaker community with period buildings, tours, demonstrations & a gift shop.
A wonderful place to take in an unique and fascinating part of our country's freedom of religion and way of life. Different tours capture various aspects of the Shaker lifestyle. We chose the outside tour of the buildings and grounds. Although self guided entry to the grounds are free tours start at $20. But you are helping keep this part of history available to future generations.
Pete Zielinski — Google review
If you enjoy history, you will enjoy this tour. It’s like stepping back in time. Our guide Joanne did a fantastic job describing what life was like for the Shakers. I would highly recommend
Steven Mahoney — Google review
It was nice. The museum was nice upstairs. Shaker made furniture. The village was as it was where they used it. The nobody lives there anymore. There are guided tours available to learn about the Shakers and walk the site. It was a nice detour from driving straight through to our next destination. It was worth it.
Bob Morris — Google review
We didn't check times beforehand, so we missed the last tour of the day, but the staff was really helpful, and materials were great for self-guided walking tour. Grounds are gorgeous! The gardens can't be missed! Easy to see why these folks chose this spot. Will definitely return.
K C — Google review
This is a really beautiful spot! They have all sorts of lovely items in the gift shop, and the buildings are so exquisitely designed. See if you can catch a tour if possible, so that you can see all of the interiors. I would love to go back and learn even more about the Shakers. There is just so much beauty and history there.
Kevin Medansky — Google review
Oh boy was this different from reasonable expectations! This is NOT a nationally owned property with knowledgeable National Park Rangers providing tours! That's surprising since it's touted as a historic property, first of all. Our tour guide was slow to speak, and kept interjecting for his own entertainment pointless information, while we all stood outside in the sun being bitten by insects, to start with. It took nearly an hour to even have the opportunity to enter one of the buildings, and I should mention that he made a point of asking if anyone in the group was especially knowledgeable about Shakers and Shaker communities and then admitted he asked this because of the possibility of inconsistency of facts or information. What?! I cannot be sure of this was another of his ridiculous way of entertaining himself, or whether I should take everything he said with a grain of salt then.
There are trustees who take care of this property and this might be a "for profit" business. Regardless it's not an informative and insightful day-out for those looking to learn something and get a little insight into another way of life.
However, I CAN recommend taking the Robert Frost house tour since those tours are given by knowledgeable National Park Rangers, as well as taking the Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum tour.
By giving this review I'm simply trying to help those looking for something interesting to do, to avoid wasting their time and money. The gift shop was nice, but best of luck for those willing to take a chance on visiting this place and taking a tour.
Ron & Brenda DeSantis — Google review
We visited in winter so everything was shut down, but the grounds are still open to walk around. They don’t really shovel the paths so snow boots are recommended. The village itself is beautiful and serene, especially when you are the only ones there. We will definitely be back in the summer to visit the museum and gift shop.
Per Sveen — Google review
Our tour guide Bill was funny and very knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Shakers. He was pleasing to listen to and didn't just talk at us. He was interactive and a great teacher. It is a beautiful village, and I hope to visit again someday to hike the property and take one of their other tours when the weather is warmer. They had free hot chocolate in the gift shop, which was perfect on such a cold day, and after the tour, he gave us little soaps.
Linda A — Google review
At the museum entrance and gift shop you can buy tickets for a guided tour of the site. The folks there said the tour takes 1.5 to 2 hours. It’s the only way to see inside the buildings (you need to have a guide with you). Unfortunately, we didn’t have that much time. We got a map of the grounds and wandered around (free of charge, donations welcome) with the little bit of time we had. We’ll be back in the future for the actual tour.
Ed Van Cise — Google review
You can walk the grounds and picnic there for free or you can take one of the guided tours available. We just walked around at our own pace. It was was old and quaint. It was like stepping back in time as we observed the old buildings and their purposes. It was cool to see some of the items they used to print with and cook with. We also saw some of their kitchen and laundry appliances. The gardens were very impressive as well.

Highly interesting historical place to visit really enjoyed the time we spent there. Must see if in the area. Free to walk around and they do have guided tours

This place is a must visit if you're into architecture and/or cultural history. The Shakers were a fascinating people and I look forward to reading more about them. It's free to roam around outside and be sure to pop in the admissions center to watch their free 9 minute video which is a very well done overview of the Shakers. My next visit I hope to do the 1pm tour which let's you look at the interiors of the buildings.
Viraj Patel — Google review
This place is wonderful! The grounds are beautiful, and we had a nice, sunny day to enjoy them. You can meander around the grounds and look in some of the buildings. There is also a guided tour. Our tour guide, Gail, was very informative and well versed on the Shaker people, their way of life and on the buildings. This tour is well worth going through. We learned so much!
Family-friendly ski & snowboard area also offering Nordic terrain, a mountain coaster & tubing.
Very friendly staff. My kids took snowboarding and skiing lessons, they liked the coaches polite and extremely responsible (especially Keith and Ian). A little issue with the order of the line for the lift. Kids just don't have manners keep on cutting the line. But very enjoyable.
Sam Yeung — Google review
Really enjoy snowboarding here!!! The mountain itself is large enough to have a variety of trails, but small enough (and affordable enough) to feel like an old school mountain resort - which it is!!
There is a nice lodge at the top that offers draft beer, along with some food and an awesome view of Lake Winnipesaukee and Mount Washington!!
Gunstock also has a great deal; for $50, you can get a night lift ticket AND rentals!! That is an incredible deal
Keith Constant — Google review
I visited in June, the mountain coaster alone is worth the visit! The ride lasts about 5 minutes total (including the ride uphill) if you go as fast as it allows. You can slow down with the brakes if you want to enjoy the views. Which are beautiful by the way! There is also an outdoor church that meets at the summit on Sunday mornings. That was really cool, although they aren't always at Gunstock Mountain, they visit different locations.
Alex — Google review
Gunstock offers incredible views of Lake Winnipesaukee, and even Mount Washington. Terrain is generally well maintained, and the mountain offers a decent selection of trails. Terrain parks were also very good. My only suggestion would be lift upgrades.
Joe P — Google review
I would give this place five stars if my experience this weekend were a little different. It actually hurts to post only three stars right now! The mountain itself is awesome and the staff is very friendly. There are plenty of runs open and since they limit lift and tubing tickets, wait times for lifts are super reasonable. My only complaint is relative to my experience with the advance purchase tickets for snow tubing.
I pre-purchased tickets to speed the check-in and it most certainly did not! The ladies at the tubing check-in shack couldn't figure out why the barcodes from my confirmation email weren't working and after 20+ minutes of frustration on their end, irritated people behind me (since we hogged one of two counters), and a whole lot of patience on my end, I finally asked if anyone else could come help. The lady assisting us said no, not at the shack, and sent me to the main building to check in my group. The guy inside the building was super friendly and able to find the six tickets immediately by scanning the same barcodes in the email I showed to the ladies! I think they were scanning the wrong code at the top, but whatever. Long story short, 35 minutes were wasted on a process that was supposed to expedite things. That's A LOT of time paid for and unrealized when ticket brackets are only two hour time frames. Don't get me wrong, we had a A TON of fun and I would definitely go back, but not gonna lie, kinda upset that the paid time was not made up to our group for something that was not our fault.

Today was Belknap County Day. Got to choose the Mountains Coaster or Scenic Aerial Ride for free. (Normally $20pp)I live here and this was my first time. Love, love, loved the aerial ride. Lots of trails and a playground for the kids. Food and drink available too. Pets welcomed.

Gunstock provided a spectacular venue for our daughter's fall wedding. The views for pictures at the top of the mountain were breath taking and the chair lift ride up with the wedding party was a blast! The ceremony at the pond with the fall foliage was also beautiful. You'll find Gretchen, the event coordinator to be responsive, professional and invaluable. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating. The lodge offers plenty of room for a large wedding with warm lighting and a grand fire place. The food was absolutely delicious from rehearsal dinner to cocktail hour to the reception dinner and the bar staff accommodated stocking the bar with beverages of our choice. Family and friends who traveled from CT. stayed at local Airbnb's and the Gunstock camp ground which offered close and affordable options. So grateful the kids chose Gunstock for their wedding celebration. It was truly the experience I hoped it would be for my daughter and her new husband.

This is a great year-round resort to visit! We just did the Belknap County Resident Day and got to ride the chair lift and the mountain coaster for free! The chair lift ride was very relaxing and there were great views from the top. The mountain coaster was a blast! They also have a zip line, ropes courses, and playgrounds for children ages 2 to 12. Do check online though for age and height requirements for some of the adventures. There's even a swimming hole (but no lifeguard). You do need to have closed toe shoes (sneakers are recommended) for all the adventures except for the chair lift. The resort also has quite a large campground on site. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

Gun stock has always been one of my favorite mountains. Very user friendly with many different types of terrait's easy to get to from just about anywhere. Ticket prices are through the roof everywhere, but gunstalk seems to be. A bit lower than a definite work very hard to make snow and get people on the slopes

We had a great tubing experience at Gunstock! We bought tickets in February 2021 and memories keep coming back. It can be super busy, so the line can take some time. Otherwise, the ride down the hill is really fun and enjoyable. There are several other opportunities like skiing and snowboarding. Probably my favorite place for winter sports!

Conditions were okay, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The resort is very organized and easy to navigate. Had a solid two days but the ice on some of the trails definitely made it a challenge. For a two hour drive up from Mass it was a great choice. Airbnb in the area was inexpensive since it's not Loon

This is one of my absolute favorite mountains, second only to Sugarbush. The views are amazing, the trails are beautiful, the glades are challenging yet doable. The ski patrol is efficient and friendly, im sorry that I needed their services because it meant the end of my weekend, but it was an amazing mountain yet again

Staff was great- friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Adventure park was well staffed. Campground staff addressed issues promptly and completely. Campground is very large, but there are NO pull-throughs for very large RVs. Outdoor pool, dog friendly with a dog park. Nature walks. Playground. Nice small brook running all through the campground. Campers have access to walk/bike in adventure park and get discounted ticket prices.

This has been one of my favorite mountains since I started snowboarding almost 34 to 36 years ago and always a great spot the workers have always been there to help whether it's on the mountain or in the store or even a cafeteria I'm hoping after I heal after back surgery I'll be able to snowboard again and gun stock will be the first ticket prices are insane everywhere but on the stock always maintains high-quality of everything and definitely worth the money

I have some skateboarding experience so decided to try snowboarding. I scheduled a lesson to learn more and got partnered up with 18-year old Derrin and learned a lot! A lot of trial and error but he was patient and great demonstrating where I was messing up and how to correct my balance and posture on the snowboard.

Nice ski resort. There is a wide range of runs, some of which are fairly long. The only negative is that there is not a lot of space for eating on a busy day.
26 diverse trails, 3 terrain parks, night skiing, snow tubing & dining at a 1,460-foot summit.
We love Pats Peak - it is a special place as we thought our kids to ski there for the first time when they were both 2 years old. It is a great mountain not too small or too large and overwhelming. We love it because it is close to MA and we can get there in about 1 hour, so makes it a great day trip. Love the cafeteria as it offers several vegetarian options on the menu. Also they have built many covered tables outside with heating lamps so you can warm up in between the runs. Make sure you make your reservation online before you go now for the weekends and holiday weekends.

Aside from the amazing snowboarding and skiing and also the fact that they are the best Southern mountain that's open the first weekend of December the customer service and all the employees here are amazing. I've never had one employee give me any kind of attitude they always seem to be happy to be here happy to work and always willing to go above and beyond to help the customer. For an example this season they switch to RFID passes I had already received my pass in March which I then lost that pass I called on Tuesday told them I lost it but I had to switch anyways told them I was coming on Saturday I got here on Saturday I didn't have to wait in line or anything the woman I talked to went ahead and printed out my new pass already and it's just one of many examples of the amazing customer service and how much they actually care about their employees even though this is not the biggest mountain in the state I recommend this mountain over all the others

First time at pats peak with a group of friends. Group sales were very helpful and they gave us the prices and everything, plain and straightforward. Very easy to get a group trip here unlike some other places, that didn’t have prices easily accessible and clear. They are much more organized, but they are lacking in the perks one would get for going here compared to other places. This is a cheaper option and has more trails than other mountains for groups. The lounge area was packed, so definitely go early to get a small room or book a room in advance. Food was very expensive compared to other places, and the lifts were very slow moving. The mountain scenery was very pretty, but they definitely need to up their game. The place was huge, so you had to walk a while to be able to go to group sales, to get rental equipment etc. At least it’s not hard to find or miss. The staff were all very helpful and professional. Would definitely come again as a group! A lot of the trails were not open when we went, but it was still really fun to go.

Lovely ski resort with beginner friendly slopes and good number of lifts!
Skied here a couple of times this season and would definitely come back. The drive takes only 1.5 hours from Boston.
Don't miss out the Saturday night pop rentals (if you're okay skiing crud) - They're one of the most inexpensive ski package in the Northeast which include rentals too.

update on 02/25/2023: Went on Saturday for the night time. It was great experience. Not so many people on the mountain and good snow. Will definitely go at night time again. Just remember to use the 👓 for night or cloudy weather.
The green lane Puff is perfect for beginner! The snow there is always good to practice. It is better to buy a seasonal pass or otherwise it might be hard to get a ticket at last minute. What’s more, it has microwave in it! Perfect for warming up 🍱

Excellent day at Pats Peak. Skied from 10-4pm. First time there and picked a Friday to avoid the weekend crowds. Parking was easy, access to lodge and slopes was also easy. Ticket retrieval at the self-service was fast and convenient. We had great weather, which certainly helped, but I was impressed by the snow quality and cleanliness of the facilities. Cafeteria food is equal to other resorts, nothing special, but cost was not outrageous. Friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of fun, rideable terrain for beginners. Highly recommend.

I just love it here. I grew up taking lessons and learning to ski at Pat’s Peak. Haven’t been back in quite a few years until last year and again this year.
I was so excited that they still had the giant m&m cookies. They really offer everything— beginner to advanced trails, terrain parks, tubing, And my favorite, evening hours!!
It’s about 2hrs from my home in MA but is the perfect “day trip” mountain for me. i’ll likely buy a season pass next year when I am finished with school and have more time.

We had a fantastic time at Pats Peak. I love this mountain. Not the largest, but the trails are always well groomed and it doesn’t get as crowded as other resorts that take Epic pass. The lift lines moved swiftly and the terrain park was bomb. Can’t wait to come back.

Been coming here for two years. The 20s something season pass is such a great deal, especially for beginners like us who are on green and blues. The cafeteria is a bit overpriced but they provide microwaves, so we bring our own food.

The staff there are all so nice and helpful. It was my first time downhill skiing and the instructor we had was good and patient with us newbies. The day we went was sunny and beautiful. The location is super convenient to get to. We would come back in the future!

Pats peak seems to be great for beginners. There are decent trails for intermediate runs but they all slow down too much towards the end. It’s a quick drive up from Boston and is on Indy pass which makes it worth a weekend try. Also good for taking lessons. Small ski area, hence no stress of parking or waiting in huge lines. Overall, a decent one.

Wonderful family owned resort! While it's fairly small on the scale of ski mountains, it's got 100% snow making coverage and a great diversity of terrain. This is probably the best resort in the northeast for beginners through intermediate skiers looking to practice their skills.

I just started snowboarding, and for me, the beginning trace is just right - slow and long. The lift is long too, so dress warmly, as you will freeze. It's a pity that the fireplace was broken. I hope you fixed it.

This place has grown to be one of my favorite ski areas around. I went there last year for the first time with my daughters (ages 11 and 8) to ski and they loved it. The mountain rarely, if ever, has any lines, the skiing is great for all ski levels, and the staff who teach lessons do a great job. Additionally , the staff there are incredibly friendly and really pay attention to the customer experience, and the place is super clean. I don't live anywhere near Pat's Peak, but I make sure to spend at least one weekend there a year now. Thanks for being an awesome family friendly mountain.

I had a (2) Hour Private Lesson yesterday with John. I have not Snowboarded in a few years and he had me doing J-Turns by my third run. Most importantly- he taught me how to STOP and have board control which makes it much safer for everyone on the Mountain. He was patient, attentive, professional and extremely helpful and I’m safe to say the lesson was a great investment. I ended up going today as well because of the confidence I gained from John. He is an asset to Pats Peak.
What a great time. A+ for red beard John and A+ for Pats Peak. Ty for a great weekend!

This is an underrated outlet mall. There are pretty much stores for almost all your needs (except for tools, hardware, etc). Plus, over there years more quality food has been added, which is nice. I miss the Nike Factory store, but all things come and go. I have worked with management at 3 stores in this outlet mall and there are a lot of good people working here. Stop by and check it out.

Selection of stores has diminished... Nike is gone, j. Crew is gone. I like that it's covered so you stay dry when walking to different stores. Plus rocky mountain chocolate loves dogs. So you can go in with your fur buddy. They will even give them a treat 😀

Mostly, I go to the candy store, it's fantastic there. They have a massive selection of interesting sweets and sodas.
There are many different kinds of stores, most of them are branded apparel/accessories. This place is super popular with tourists visiting NH from out of state and from Canada. NH has no sales tax, so many people come to shop. The mall is situated in the lakes region, which is a beautiful destination.

Five stars for Tanger Outlets! I absolutely love visiting this place on weekends to stroll through the shops and snag some incredible deals. The variety of stores is fantastic, offering something for everyone. Whether I'm in the mood for fashion, home goods, or accessories, Tanger has it all. Plus, the atmosphere is always lively and enjoyable. It's the perfect destination for a day of shopping and fun!

We were a little disappointed with our visit here this morning. A number of empty storefronts and it seemed as though less than a hundred people walking around looking in stores but not carrying any bags or purchases. Employees in several stores seemed indifferent

I went by for a latte at Starbucks, and I've got to say, that parking lot had to be designed by monkeys. You pull in the entrance to go to Starbucks, and even though they have a drive up access lane right by Starbucks, you can't use it regularly. You have to drive all the way to the end of the lot and then you have to loop around past the back of other places, to finally join the line to order. And then once you get your drink there's a sign stopping you from turning right to the exit of the lot, which is right in front of you! Who's bright idea was that?
I realize that the outlets have been there for quite a while and Starbucks was built into the middle of the parking lot afterwards, but for the love of coffee, reevaluate the layout and intended traffic pattern there. As it stands now, it makes no sense for patrons.
Noreen Morgan — Google review
Great selection of outlet stores. There are a lot of really great places to eat here too like Starbucks and Five Guys. Easy on and off Exit 93. A bit congested but plenty of parking is available.
Kris Tort — Google review
Outlets are always great. As a Canadian the exchange rate makes purchasing things here quite a bit more expensive for normal priced items. So the spending is much more comparable due to the outlet pricing.
Decent variety of stores as well, especially for families. Some great food options around as well. Plenty of parking any time I've been.

Some excellent shops with some great bargains are about half the size of Cheshire Oaks. The Under Armour was particularly good value. Don't forget to visit the Sweet Shop, which is worth a visit

It's not a bad shopping experience but I'm not a fan of the outdoor mall style. Call me old fashioned but the classic indoor mall is still better social and shopping experience. There are a few decent stores here, and a couple of decent outlets. It definitely is turning into an more strip mall and less outlet every year. For real T-Mobile isn't an outlet.. .

Name brands, great selection. Conveinent location. Fairly clean. As is everything these days there is not a lot of quality but the prices are expensive.

Year-round destination for camping, hiking & Nordic skiing around the 3,165-ft. Mt. Monadnock.
Great hike with the Family. Chilly day but we were prepared for it. Recommend the White Dot Trail up and White Cross down. White Cross has some very icy spots but microspikes worked great and walked on edge of path for better traction. Will be back to try other trails!
Hank Stuart — Google review
Beautiful mountain. This is NOT an easy hike, but the mountain is welcoming to beginners and experienced hikers. Reservations are required for parking. From the lot, there are two trails-white dot and white cross. Both offer a challenge. You can do this in sneakers but boots are better. Bring enough water. If you think you only need two bottles bring three. You'd prob rather have more and carry it down than not enough. But the summit is beautiful and very worth the climb. Going up makes you feel accomplished. Coming down, well your legs will likely feel like jelly. But it is a great hike.

I never get tired of climbing the (maybe) most-climbed mountain in the world. Many different routes lead to the summit - try the Dublin or Pumpelly Trails to avoid some of the crowds. Wear sturdy boots, bring plenty of water and snacks, check the weather before you head out, and definitely bring warm layers to wear at the peak.
Steve T — Google review
Campsite was flatter and cleaner than a lot of others I've been to with space for parking on site. The shop for essentials was fully stocked, and the ba bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Not a mosquito in sight! The hike to the summit was well marked and easy enough for kids to make. Highly recommend even for the inexperienced.

It was beautiful. We went in the winter time and the summer time and in the winter you are transported to a winter wonderland. Make sure to rent or buy mini spikes from the shops in the winter as it gets quite icy. In the summer it was just as beautiful with nice views from the top. Down below are some pictures of the most recent adventure to the top covered in snow. Amazing. 10/10

Three feiends and I hiked white arrow trail and it took almost exactly the 2.5 hours stated on the map. The trail is clearly marked and has a couple fairly steep inclines through rocky sections. I am 70, the oldest person on the trail, and my 65 year old friend has had both hips and a shoulder replaced, half a lung removed and spinal fusions yet he made it using two walking sticks. It was arduous for us and my legs were like rubber at the end. The younger folks were scampering along and we let them pass. The 350 degree views at the summit are spectacular and it was worth every step.

Majestic views!!! We hiked the Old Halfway House trail. The first mile is easy and the second mile is super hard! Worth the workout getting to the top with 360 degree view where we could see for miles in every direction! Lots of folks at the top, so if you're looking for something secluded, this is not the place!

Mountain, Monadnock is a great mountain. It’s a moderately easy hike, that has some great views. The parking situation is a bit of a mess. You have to make reservations ahead of time and then it’s a pretty expensive parking fee for just hiking. I live in the white mountains and I’ve hiked most of mountains up there and you can buy a parking pass for the entire season to park anywhere for for just a little bit more than what it cost to park here for one day.

Amazing state park with a large amount of trails. The trails are pretty long and the easiest trail can still be very challenging. The incline grade gets harder and harder as you get closer to the top. Near the top is straight up rock climbing. Top can be inside rain clouds sometimes. Very slippery due to rain and clouds. Recommend good boots, and flashlights.
Kazi Ahmed — Google review
Plan ahead! You need to reserve parking in advance. It will be crowded. But it is still well worth it. A strenuous hike, wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water on warm days.

This was my first visit to Monadnock State Park, and the views here are absolutely breathtaking. However, be prepared for a challenging hike that can take nearly 5 hours round trip. I even twisted my ankle on the way down the mountain, but despite the mishap, it was still worth every moment! Climbing requires using both hands at times, so be sure to keep that in mind, and most importantly, don't forget to bring enough water!

Be prepared! It's a steap one!! Wear the proper shoes with grip! Bring plenty of water and a refuel snack! Prepare for stair like rocks (high knees people!) that could also be slippery when wet; straight slopes going up as well as when you go down. Respect the woods and nature. Bring back ALL trash even if it's biodegradable, it does not necessarily belong naturally in that environment. Always leave somewhere better than when you arrived.

Great place for a comedy show or a small band, acoustics are not top notch and their equipment seems to be a bit on the older side and needs an update. Concessions are moderately priced. One frustrating part is if you sit close to the stage they do not let you exit through the side door at the front and the staff aren't the nicest about it.

Staff were wonderful here but the facility was lacking. The seats were comfortable and had cup holders. Concession was small and moderately priced. The acoustics were poor and it was too warm and stuffy on this cool June evening. They had trouble with the sound system, too, feedback and mikes going out. Restrooms are downstairs and are small (four stalls in the ladies' and one was out of order). The accessible toilet was leaking pretty badly. I'm not sure how accessible this place is otherwise.

Went to the ski area. Long lines, bad parking, nowhere to sit in the lodge. Definitely my least favorite ski resort in the area. Self-guided tours of glacial caves formed during the Ice Age plus a rock garden & a nature trail.
This was our second visit and we loved it as much as we did the first time.
Lots of stairs, but pretty easy to climb. There are many tunnels and caves, some very tight and challenging to squeeze through (don't take a backpack with you if you want to fit in all), but a fun experience, for sure!
If you're in good health, athletic, and not claustrophobic, I highly recommend it.
The views on top are amazing. We loved it!
At the entrance, you can have another experience - mining for gemstones and crystals - which the kids really enjoyed!

Amazing place for beginning spelunkers! Scenery was breathtaking. Took about 2 hours to go through and fully explore all 9 caves. I could sit on top of the mountains for hours and simply enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty. There is a duck pond and a nature area with ewes to feed and pet ($2 corn in gift shop), a mining gem area and a rock garden to walk through. Grounds are bigger than expected
Be careful in the devils turnpike, the metal steps to exit the cave are deteriorating, jagged and could be a potential hazard! (Last pic)

A great experience. Had a good time with the family. We have twin 22 month old boys, a little difficult carrying then on our fronts in a carrier. We had to pass on a few of the more difficult tight squeeze caves. It was a warm day, didn't need any extra layers for the boys.

Beautiful park tucked into a natural forest setting. Not overly commercial. Well maintained. Lovely wooden stairs and metal ladders guide you through a series of exciting cave explorations. Blessedly cool in the caves in August. We went on a Monday and it was great but the very large parking lot was mostly empty. Weekends might get crowded.

Kids enjoyed feeding the ducks and deer (food reasonably priced) before our caving excursion. We went here and to Lost River Gorges and Flume Gorge on the same trip. I appreciated the placards at the Gorges, which provide detail of the area/caves (including indicating the difficulty level and the what to expect within the cave at Lost River). Therefore, I’d recommend Lost River Gorge above the Polar Caves if you are short on time. However, Polar Caves were fun and a good challenge for our family; it was nice to engage in some activity that pushed us out of our comfort zones.

We had a great time feeding the animals, climbing through the caves ECT.
Caves stay cool even in the summer (went in late June). There are bypasses so that those who want to come but aren't interested in squeezing through the caves can join.
We took our kids ages 7, 3, and 1.5 and had fun. It was tricky going through the lemon squeeze.
Great overall!

Very cool place. As a kid I had always gone to lost gorge caves but this place was a little different. I was worried it would be too much of the same thing since we went to lost river the day before, but it was definitely a different experience comparatively. This place is a bunch of ”glacially formed" caves and caverns made from large boulders. The caves seemed longer than lost river and were a different vibe because there was no river running through the area. Very interesting rock formations. You can see that the caves are discovered, and mostly naturally made, however this location seemed to have more human support to make them accessible to the public than lost river. There were areas inside caves that certainly had boulder stairs added inside, which isnt a bad thing at all.... I just noticed that lost river seemed more natural and untouched.

Super amazing! A gorgeous family friendly walk with a range of caves at many levels of difficulty to explore. Incredible wooden stairways and walkways throughout, beautiful nature trails and awe inspiring views. That plus a great gift shop and some cute deer to feed make it a wonderful place to visit. Definitely not a good place for people who can't handle a lot of stairs and walking but besides that great for a wide range of ages.

This place is absolutely magical. My kids were having so much fun scrambling over the rocks and climbing through everything. They had such a blast they got worn out.
While going through the caves I would recommend not having a big bag with you as it will get in the way. Be prepared to scramble and squeeze through some areas. This was my first time back in 32 years and it was still just as amazing.

The Vermont Country Store Rockingham, Vermont is a great place. We have made a lot of good memories here over the years and it hasn’t stopped. We did it again today. If you are ever close to this area be kind to yourself and stop in for 30 minutes or an hour. We recommend this store.

I felt like I stepped back in time. The decor is period 1800's stepping into the way-back machine. There are items in this country store that I haven't seen since I was a kid. And there was plenty of unique items that have common sense uses. We made the 2+ hour trip to check out the buzz about the place. We saw this spot on Ma Chronicle and had to come!
Visual: I rode up on my horse and tied it to the rail outside with the other horses watering in the troth while their owners were inside. Could hear my spurs clanging as I walked through the pothecary getting my daily needs to put on account til the end of the month.

It would be 5 stars but personally I felt constrained and herded. Signs signs every where signs blocking up the scenery breaking my mind, do this don't do that... you get the picture. That gripe expressed, as ever a nostalgic fun trip down memory lane. Alot of neat things, needful things, tasty things and funny things. Follow the photos of what caught my eye and bright back memories!

My mom wanted to go here while she was visiting from NC...said she ordered from here all the time online and wanted to see it for herself.
She was NOT disappointed. It was like stepping back in time when you walked into the store. Old products you can't really find anymore exist on the shelves beside newer items. From Bazooka bubble gum to crockery to Christmas ornaments to sweaters to tools and more they seemed to have EVERYTHING fitting an old country store!
And of COURSE if you're looking for maple products it has them by the metric ton...syrup, candies, soaps you name it...if it can be made to be maple-ish they have it. They even have their own candy.
It's a great time to come to this store and just walk around it. It made me miss some of the older stores (that were crumbling) when I was a kid in the deep south...just...with more maple stuff in it. Total recommend 5 out of 5

I just recently purchased 2 copies of “For The Love Of Vermont”. One for myself and one as a Christmas gift. It is a beautiful book that will enhance every coffee table

7.31.23 One of those "must stop" venues when in the area as it has food, some outdoor dining spots, items to purchase to take home such as VT made cheeses, sweets, wine, jellies, maple syrup, toy, clothes, soaps, etc. It's also a fun place to just walk around and browse. There's something for every age and taste.

Well stocked country store, with clothes, food and those unique items you find in their catalog. Very friendly staff.

Great selection of candies, treats, nostalgic toys, clothing, nick-nacks, and basically everything else you can think of. There is a Christmas section, and the whole store just smells good. There is an attached takeout restaurant with extremely good food. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a good kids selection as well.
Highly recommend this short detour off of I-91.
Historic 1800s wooden bridge connecting Vermont & New Hampshire, flanked by colored foliage in fall.
The Cornish-Windsor Bridge is an iconic marvel connecting Vermont and New Hampshire. Built in 1866, it's the longest wooden covered bridge in the United States, offering a captivating blend of history and stunning river views. Crossing over the Connecticut River, this bridge is a testament to craftsmanship and durability. Its lattice truss design and deep red color make it a photogenic spot, especially during the fall foliage season. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a photography buff, or simply seeking a scenic drive, the Cornish-Windsor Bridge is a must-visit, encapsulating the charm of New England.
Vic Deadly — Google review
This bridge offers great photo opportunities. Mt Ascutney in the background, the railroad bridge to the south, and of course, the beautiful Connecticut River all around.
The day we visited, we had a pair of bald eagles cruising the water. This is still a functioning thoroughfare, so walking across the bridge requires a modicum of caution.
And, of course, don’t ride your horse across, unless you are prepared to pay the fine!
DL Hirst — Google review
Beautiful bridge and very long. Saw this on my way to Saint Gaudens NHP in NH. Loved the sign on the bridge indicating cost for horse and buggy to cross. Plenty of room to stop and shoot pics.
Terri Moore — Google review
We parked our car in Windsor and we walked to the bridge. It's not made for pedestrians, and we couldn't get to the other side to get a better picture of the whole bridge as there were always cars passing by and it can be dangerous.
We weren't sure if there was a way to park our car in the other side so that we could take better photos, that's why we chose to come on foot.

These covered bridges are worth the visit. This one you can drive through. It was great seeing it and driving through. What a trip indeed! Nice photos with the water and all.

Great to see it and walking through it, can still smell the horses, it's one of the few bridges that can be seen from interstate 91

Travellers, the Cornish Windsor bridge in both New Hampshire as well as Vermont is a New England gem. The bridge is very interesting and unique. It is made entirely of wood and is still and has been continually in use. It is a large covered bridge and spans the Connecticut river which is the boarder between the two states. The sites and sounds are utterly charming. Check it out. We recommend.
TLDR - The bridge is worth the ride
Lisa DeWitt — Google review
Fun to visit the longest covered bridge! Parking available, but not designed for tourists. Have to walk along a short stretch of the busy road to get close for pictures. Too narrow and dark to walk into the bridge safely.
C Adams — Google review
We stumbled upon the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge this week. We were heading from NH to VT. You can stop and park on the NH side, hence the posted pictures. According to the on site sign, this is the longest wooden bridge in the United States and the longest two-span covered bridge in the world. I wonder why I never heard of this before! This bridge crosses over the Connecticut River from New Hampshire to Vermont. Even if you're not into covered bridges, this one is something special to see!

Beautiful condition. The water, sky, weather, and bridge made for a exceptional photo. Hopefully I’ll find the time to do a painting of this beautiful bridge. Well worth the the ride there.

Longest historic covered bridge in the United States. There is a recent bridge in Ohio over the Ashtabula River, which is 613 feet long, with pedestrian walkways on both sides. Dedicated in 2008.

We crossed the bridge twice and used the pullout on the NH to take photos. It is an impressive monument to history and worth seeing!
Resort with ample skiing terrain & modern amenities, plus an adventure zone with a mountain coaster.
Loved it! Went there in the first half of March. Well maintained trails (of course when weather permits). Many trails are wide and what I liked the most, have hills (so you always go up and down). Because of the way those trails (green included) designed, you need to work with your legs all the time. Those trails are really good for curving. Friendly staff, good and not very expensive food.

I recently had the chance to visit Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, Vermont, and I have to say, it's an absolutely fantastic ski destination.
The resort has a wide variety of runs for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging expert trails. The snow conditions were also excellent - the mountain received plenty of natural snowfall and the grooming was top-notch.
One of the things that really stood out to me about Okemo was the attention to detail. The resort goes above and beyond to make sure that their guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the amenities - including a range of dining options and a cozy fireplace lounge - were all top-notch.
Overall, I highly recommend Okemo Mountain Resort to anyone looking for a fantastic ski vacation. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll find plenty of great runs to enjoy at this beautiful resort.

Very nice resort. We did it with an epic pass discount so it was even better. Very convenient and easy. Also, it spoils everyone so you will never do skiing any other way. Pool and hot tub on premises to dip in after skiing. Other amenities available also, like massage place, but that has to be paid for seperately. I recommend this. Do it once and you'll understand.

Make no mistake, this resort is not the west coast but considering that it’s on the east side of the country, they do a great job creating an experience that is certainly similar to resorts in Colorado and Utah

Went skiing her for two days. I have to say, I was very impressed with their lift system and slopes. There are enough trails for all skill levels, and certainly enough space to explore. We really liked the express lifts, since they had so many options once at the top. We may be coming back since we enjoyed ourselves so much.

What a fantastic mountain.
I was able to ski over Easter weekend at Okemo and had a fantastic experience.
The parking ticketing, rental,
and lift staff were efficient, kind, and helpful with friendly and cheerful spirits.
It was obvious they were happy to be there.
The resort was clean, well kept, and organized.
The views were amazing from all over the mountain, and the air was cold, crisp, and clean.
The slopes were in great condition, and the lines were short.
The greens and blues were correctly denoted, with a few blacks maybe being blues..., but the trails were great.
I look forward to heading back next season for a week long getaway.

This was our first trip to Okemo. We took lessons last weekend and our instructors (Chip and Richard) were both wonderful! The lessons really catered to skill level. The trails were well maintained and the food was fine.
It was extremely busy the weekend we went and we had to park in one of the lower lots. We would have preferred not having to shuttle but the shuttles ran frequently/were pretty convenient
Katie Deats — Google review
Very nice mountain with well-groomed trails. They use a multi-lift system to get you around, which makes the runs a little shorter. Would recommend studying the map before going.
If you plan on bringing your own food, would suggest packing a small bag to bring on the slopes. Parking lots are pretty far from the base. Multiple options to eat at lodges. Typical resort pricing ($$)

Nice big ski resort with plenty of trails for all skill levels. Loved the bubble ski lift, it keeps me comfy during the ride to the top. Staff were friendly and helpful. An amazing choice for skiing on the East Coast!

Great mountain for skiers who are just graduating from greens, and there’s some hidden stuff off the top for the hardcore bunch. Good beginner (and advanced) glades, too. Easy drive from BDL airport. Restaurants are expensive and pretty low quality — I had one of the worst Bloody Marys of my life, including aboard airplanes, at the Solitude lodge. Pack a lunch and drink off-hill — the Loft is a legendary apres ski joint, though it gets jammed to the gills by 4 pm. In-town, Game Bird does great fried chicken and will keep your kids entertained for a couple hours.

Found this last minute after our other hotel fell through. Came up for the Spartan Vermont weekend at Killington and this was a short 15-20m ride over there. Room was spacious and loved the loft option. Comfortable beds and sofa pullout with plenty of room for 3 guys. Definitely coming back with the family to explore their adventure park behind the resort!

Nice resort with a lot of trails, but can get very crowded during the holidays, lift lines could get long at times if you were with groups of people. If you go to the opposite side of the mountain it is more open, also there is no night skiing so it closes around 4. Found and drink wasn’t outrageous for a ski resort.

Can I just tell you that I absolutely love the ski instructor my 10 year old daughter had. I think his name was Nicky. He was very laid back, not push and had so much patience with her. He talked nice with her. She actually got one on one time the whole time. She actually likes ski now too. She wouldn't do the lift and he wasn't pushy about it. I was happy she got someone nice bc she is a very stubborn girl.

My group and I had a fantastic time here... of course we were here when it was super warm yet the Okemo Team did a great job of grooming the runs in preparation for the warm weather each day! BEAUTIFUL Resort! Would recommend this hill to anyone looking to ride on the East Coast! Great runs for all levels of experience!

Scott was fantastic. Very kind and encouraging. We enjoyed working with him and on my first time skiing ever, I was able to ski a regular slope! He is aware that people have different styles for what work for them and encourages you to find your individual comfort in skiing, both mentally and physically. Highly recommend Rick was an training to run his own lessons and he was awesome too.

Normally a great resort on the Epic pass, however this time the last lift closing early forced us to finish skiing in the South Quad Village. This is a condo real estate development still under construction. There was no operating chair, no staff, nothing.
We called the main help desk, and they gave us a number to call for a shuttle driver, who we discovered was in Florida upon calling. There are no Ubers in the area.
We were forced to walk an hour and forty minutes back to our hotel at the other side of the resort. This walk was in full gear, snow boots, while carrying our skis.

Kicked off 23/24 season at Okemo and it has been a great start! Great top-to-bottom run options given it’s still early season, friendly staff, and goos service! Shot out to ski patrol Ryan, he is awesome!! Highly recommended this place for all skiers and snowboarders :)

Went to get my Epic pass at the ticket window because I was told after a call with guest services that I had to have my pass verified at the resort because it is a college pass. First of all very poor on communication with that from epic as there is nothing on the website that states that when you buy a college pass. While I was at the ticket window I told the lady and she was nice about it and pulled up my account, then behind her another lady comes up and tells me I have to have a printed list with my credits and classes on it meanwhile I have my college ID and my class schedule for the semester.the lady was down right rude and said she’d let it slide just this once. I understand showing proof but the people at the resorts take it to an extreme to prove that you are in college. They are money hungry and don’t want anyone who is not in college to buy it leaving it to be difficult for the people who are truthful and actually in college.
Claire Doychak — Google review
Took a mid-week day trip and found all the trails to be well groomed with a good amount of snow. Lines were not overly busy, and I was able to get in my fair share of runs!
There’s a shuttle that will take you from parking at the base to the lifts. There’s not a lot of direction around the shuttle systems, but I was able to find my way back fairly easily by asking the staff.
Recommend Okemo for a great day of boarding!

Wonder first experience skiing! The rental place is like a well oiled machine. It was quick and friendly service. We had lessons and the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. My daughter was able to go from Red to about the end of yellow. She was also skiing in the terrain area. We stayed at Jackson Gore condos and the amenities were excellent with gym, hot tubs, in and outdoor pools and more. The cafeteria was crowded during lunch (hard to find a seat) and the food was ok. I would suggest to go early, beat the crowds, eat and early lunch and while everyone is eating lunch you can ski. At the waffle cabin we had delicious warm cider and a chocolate and plain waffles. They were warm and made fresh. We had a wonderful weekend. Will definitely come back.
Bernadette Bennett — Google review
Didn't stay at the resort but had a good time riding the slopes. The mountain is very beginner friendly with progression terrain park and at least 3 carpets with wide bunny hills. The Jackson side is better for beginners and has a nice fire pit after a day on the slopes. They didn't check for tickets at the carpet. There's no shuttle parking on the Jackson side. The main mountain side had shuttles but it was very slow when everyone was trying to leave at the same time after the lifts closed. The slopes on the main mountain side were more fun to ride, on one trail you go directly through an underpass. Rental was friendly and fast. Unfortunately, the slopes were very icy on our visit and there wasn't any high speed lift. Every lift took a while to reach the top. I definitely appreciate the slow down when the chair reaches the top for people to get off.

The Winter place is the place to be! We stayed at the new construction last year and did not like that we had to get to the lift so that we could ski. We tried the lodge that allowed us to ski right away, and it was a blast! The lodge itself is not new, but is nicely kept and had everything that we needed. Plenty of blankets, a fireplace, a view!, space and a spacious dining room, laundry washer and dryer, beautiful bathrooms, although they could have washed the shower curtain liner, in the one bathroom. The place was overall clean. The toaster was a joke--small, old and useless! Please upgrade immediately! Get a more efficient 4 slice toaster--think of families or couples who want to eat together. There were no kitchen towels, which was a bit disappointing, we used paper towels- we are trying to save a tree, but you see where this is going!?
The pool was lovely a bit much on the chlorine --eyes burned up on entry. The hot tubs (2) were wonderful, but you have to bring your own towels. The entire experience was excellent. It even snowed in the early morning then warmed up, how awesome is that!

Beautiful and quiet place to reflect, but very underwhelming as to what is there. Honestly just a few stones, an obelisk, and a bunch of rhetoric to try to make it more interesting than what's left there.

I arrived expecting a bizarre and disconcerting energy and I experienced precisely that. The music playing from the treeline was particularly unhinged, and the guided tour from Elders was richly educational. The environment was pristine, and their restrooms were well taken care of. I genuinely loved being here and plan to install wistful orchestral music in the trees at my house.

Every Christmas, the Joseph Smith birthplace historical site has a beautiful display of lights that is well worth driving through. In past years they have also had a display of live animals to recreate the humble scene in which Jesus Christ is said to have been born. The site is beautiful as are the decorations and never fails to instill in our family a sense of peace and joy. See my pictures to get some idea of what this is like.

Great location to remember the birth place of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (known as LDS hence the street name or Mormons). I placed an order for my 21 year olds headstone on 12.27.22. I was advised in August of 2023 that it would be delivered and installed in October of 2023. It was not!! I tried calling & emailing Terri multiple times with no response. I finally had to contact my attorney. At that point he still never responded to me. He did, however, respond to my cemetery. On December 19, 2023, it was confirmed I definitely wasn't getting his headstone for Christmas or New Year's. On that date I stated I wanted to cancel and sever ties with this whole ordeal. On that date I was assured they could have it installed before his birthday. His birthday was yesterday 2/6/24 and still no headstone.
I would not recommend this company at all. They lack compassion, empathy and follow through!!!

Hard to give 5 stars for a cemetery. This one is unique though. A number the monuments are art. Whether one of a kind forms and parting messages or sculptures, one over 100 years old, yet still exquisite craftsmanship. If you're interested in history, art, or one of a kind testimonials of those who have passed into eternity, you need to visit.

What a hoot! I've never made a pit-stop at a cemetery before but this one is unique. Apparently in a town of stone carvers with their own granite quarry, there is some pretty neat artwork in here! I heard about this one on the Atlas Obscura podcast if you want to learn more.

A really unique destination for anyone interested in local history and a little bit of world history as well.
The Hope cemetery features one of the few memorials to the 1918 pandemic (an event that has gained more currency in 2020). The memorial was unveiled in 1918, a few months before the pandemic hit Barre proper, resulting in hundreds of deaths.
Locally, all the headstones are made of granite--a requirement since 1945--and many were carved by Italian craftsman recruited to work at the local Barre granite quarry, who were able to create their own elaborate headstone.
Look for the Thomas headstone across from the memorial. Four children in this family died in the November 3-4 1927 flood, the most deadly in Vermont's history. Over 1,200 bridges were destroyed and 84 people died. To get an idea of how severe the floods were, see the high water mark in front of the state house in Montpelier (photo attached).

Hill Farmstead Brewery is a small-scale brewery founded by Shaun Hill, known for his commitment to producing unique and high-quality beers. The brewery is located on a secluded dirt road and has been recognized as the "world's best" for four consecutive years. Their selection of bottled and canned beer comes in various styles, including their famous hoppy Edward IPA and seasonal brews.
Hill Farmstead brewery is a mecca for beer lovers and I highly recommend making the pilgrimage here. Many beer enthusiasts consider Hill Farmstead to be the best brewery in the world and, after visiting, it would be hard for me to disagree.
The location in Greensboro Bend, Vermont is a quiet sanctuary nestled in the mountains and a perfect area for leaf peeping in the fall.
The beer varieties are many, so plan on staying a while to taste as many as possible (hopefully you have a dd).
And, set aside some cooler space to take some home or to your next New England destination.
If you love beer, go here.

A beautiful location where the journey there is part of the experience. The taproom is beautiful, if not overly large, and we went on a windy but fair spring day where it wasn't that busy but still felt a bit cramped inside. Very nice outdoor area though. Oddly the only sign for the place was a dilapidated wooden sign at the entrance, but the vibe was very "if you know, you know" so maybe that's on purpose.
Only 1 indoor bathroom is strange, but there's an exterior bathroom trailer that is quite nice.
You're coming here for the beer, though, and it is excellent as you'd expect. We weren't overwhelmed by the variety of beers on tap, but really enjoyed a plum farmhouse ale from a bottle.
It's worth the trip and the experience, and bring some beers back home for jealous friends.

I visited back on Dec 01, 2021. I was bored and somehow got a kick out of reading the bad reviews so I figured I would share my experience.
So after a 4+ hour road trip, being taken down the countriest of country roads by my GPS and no cell service to speak of, I subsequently slid off the road into a ditch doing some nice damage to my vehicle. Thank God for a local with a tow strap. Once we were back on civilized roads a local plow almost took us out. The mission had to continue of course.
I realized too late that there was a reservation system so I reserved and showed up early to see what would happen. Thankfully it wasn't over the top busy and the time of the reservation wasn't really given too much credence.
After a short wait in a badly laid out line, and some indecision with the menu I had a pour of Charlie. It was nice to see something low gravity that I could enjoy considering I wasn't too thrilled about potentially sliding or being run off the icy roads on the way out. Unlike some other reviewers experiences, I found the staff to be pleasant. The girl working the bar was very nice and helpful.
I enjoyed my beer out on the deck because we weren't able to sit inside for one reason or another. It was rather full and maybe it had something to do with the reservation process, I don't remember (I don't like boisterous indoor bar areas anyhow). So I took in a very nice snowy view of some barrels stacked in a field down the hill. It was also amusing to people watch the French Canadian hipsters swirling and sniffing their sour beers as if it were the finest of fine French wines.
On the way out we stopped to grab some bottles to go and the line was long but not the worst I have ever been in. This line was mostly because of some more French Canadians buying hand truck after hand truck of beer (I would love to see how they smuggled that back). The walk back to the vehicle was kinda sketchy due to the ice and snow and now added imbalance of having to carry bottles and cans. Yet I survived.
Overall it was not what I expected and yet everything I expected. It was a fun drive aside from the unintended off roading. Best to visit in the spring, fall, or summer I imagine.
I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the area but I think one hyped up pilgrimage was enough considering there is a place local to me putting out the same types of beers in a similar setting that I enjoy more. But taste is subjective. It's worth the visit at least once especially if you can sneak in during the off-peak times. Not sure how crazy things get these days with the craft beer industry leveling out a bit.
If you are up for an adventure or just passing through to parts unknown I would recommend stopping by and enjoying a beer on the deck. And don't get too crazy about inconveniences, it's a brewery not a Michelin Star restaurant.

Delicious beer! Really big open space with enough seating for everyone. They let you bring your own food. So, we went to Parker Pie Co and got some pizzas to compliment the beer.
Jasna Acharya — Google review
Disappointing at best, and some of these beers are downright distasteful. The philosophy here seems to be "make beer like you would wine" and the end result fails hard. Don't bother with any of the IPAs or IIPAs. The darker, heavier beers are really all they have that's palatable. I've heard this place used to be great, but these days it seems they're more about the esoteric than the flavorful. At least they let you bring your own food.

Definitely worth the trip. It's a little out of the way but the beer, and staff were great.
Went on their anniversary weekend so to say that it was busy is an understatement. They had special beers that only come out rarely, and which were great, so the queue was worth it. The staff were really nice (and patient) despite it being so busy.
We'll have to go back when it's not an anniversary to compare, but it is without question worth the trip.

Amazing experience. Tons of exclusives with menu rotating daily. Highly recommended especially if you’re partial to spontaneous or wild fermentation beer. Just wish they had a bit more food although I’m sure this intentional given how busy they can get. Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days to visit; the brewers are working and there’s no line to get in or order.

What a cool place for beer fans! You drive for a while wondering if you're going at the right place, and then boom, here it is! Super crowded! A lot of place to play outside! And the beers... Oh man! I recommend you try their bottled beers served in a glass, my favourite was their stouts! It's definitely worth the detour!
Highly recommend this tour. Seth has it very organized. We were a group of six. We rented e bikes through him which were high quality bikes and easy to adapt to. The inns were lovely, each different, each with excellent cuisine and friendly staff. The 30-35 mile per day rides were on mostly good road surface, the directions easy to follow. We have recommended the trip to friends!

Seth and team are outstanding in their organization, vetting of inns, producing easy to use cue sheets and mapping programs for use on the bike. Great riding options to ride as long or short as you like.
Every inn where we stayed was great with good food and hospitality.
I highly recommend using Inn to Inn for your small town bike tour.

Such a great experience from fabulous scenery to amazing food. Each inn is unique and all of the innkeepers are so kind! We would do this walk from inn to inn again in a heartbeat! A great way to see Vermont beauty on the roads and in the woods; and experience the small villages and towns. We enjoyed all of it.

We enjoyed Seth Hopkin's Inn to Inn biking trips from Brandon to Shoreham, Vergennes and Middlebury Vermont. The Inns were very comfortable. especially The Swift House in Middlebury.

Just finishing up a cycling tour arranged by Inn to Inn; they do a beautiful job with planning and coordinating so everything is seamless for your adventure! We appreciated the self guided nature of our tour; we had the freedom to do as we wished but also felt totally supported if we needed anything. Thanks for an incredible vacation!

Excellent. My family enjoyed the biking trip tremendously. Thank you!
Mountain resort offering year-round recreation, including hiking & skiing, plus golf & dining.
Finally revisited Sugarbush since i was last there in 1986 for a HS ski trip. Things have changed quite a bit, and for the better - i was able to order my lift ticket online for instance. When i arrived, they checked me in quickly, and the guys in the rental department were helpful in getting me the proper skis & boots, and i was out the door quickly. It was early in the season around Dec 20, so there were naturally a smaller number of lifts & trails open, and they were making snow too, but skiing & service was good, and what i had expected.

We had a great bluebird skiing day! This was our first time at Sugarbush. The terrain is vast and varied. The conditions were great. We enjoyed having lunch at Allyn's Lodge and a quick warmup. The food was very good and they were very fast. We loved the resort, and we plan to return!

Along with Stowe and Jay Peak, Sugarbush is one of my three top places to ski in the Northeast. They have tons of great tree skiing, a nice little village at Lincoln Peak and just an overall great vibe at this mountain. There are a ton of great local skiers here as well. I couldn't recommend a visit to Sugarbush highly enough, if the snow is good you'll have just as much fun here as you would anywhere out west. These photos by the way are from a late season trip, I can assure you Sugarbush is awesome during the heart of winter season!!!

I’ve been to a few different ski resorts in Vermont, and this one is my favorite. It’s great for groups because although it’s a large mountain, even if the group gets separated, there’s only so many places the trails lead to. Absolutely beautiful. There are lodges (bathrooms) in the middle of the mountain. Love the fact that we had access to Mount Ellen as well! There’s offshoot trails as well so you can go through the trees as well at times. We’ve been multiple times!
Emily Smith — Google review
Love this mountain. Catch it on a good snow day and you’ve got some of the best terrain the state has to offer. If there’s powder get a guide for some slide brook access. If there’s not lap heavens gate and castle rock for some serious challenges. Or take yourself over to Mt. Ellen and see where it all started.
Eric Jankstrom — Google review
Skiing wasn't the best but that's mother nature's fault, it snowed but the wind was heavy and they shut down the lifts early. Ticketing and lift lines were efficient but the lifts were slow, didn't seem like high speed quads. This whole experience cost $185 for a single day ticket, also had to park far away and shuttle so in all I got less than four hours on the slopes for that price.

This place is a gem. Down to earth folks and great slopes. What a great couple of mountains.
Obligatory crowded lift on Prez day weekend shot. We stayed over on Mt Ellen most of the day and had a blast. Will be back!

Awesome on powder days and spectacular views on bluebird days. Lots of fun trails and woods for all levels. For parks, try Mt. Ellen, which has the larger parks and with more features, plus park crew keeps it constantly well maintained. Overall one of the biggest and best ski and boarding mountains in the east.

This ski resort has a very cute entrance and buildings and some of the tracks are pretty good and long. However, the ski lifts are very outdated, the chairs are sometimes damaged and it is not very fast. Also some of the ski lifts don’t slow down when people go out, so you have to be quick to jump out. It is important to keep in mind that most tracks are blue or black so it might not be the best for someone who is learning to ski.

Sugarbush is my favorite Vermont ski resort
I’d love the whole farm barn look
It’s also really not crowded. Compared to other ski resorts like Killington and Stratton.
Also have some of the most amazing views from the peaks
A lot of tree runs almost a like the west

Visited in the summer for a work event. The area is stunning and the views from the resort are spectacular. The building architecture is a unique spin on New England barns. The main function room and various bars and dining areas were well kept. The staff and food that was catered by the resort was fantastic. I was looking for a place to get a ski pass this winter and I was so blown away by how well run Sugarbush was that I will be buying a pass there this winter.

We took a snowcat up to the top of Mount Ellen for our friends wedding ceremony. It was INCREDIBLE. Birddog was our driver and he was so nice and knowledgeable. He took the scenic route up and even took photos of the wedding party for us up top! We couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you so much for the perfect day
Lauren Grybko — Google review
I want to like it here but it is very pricey, especially for the Clay Brook hotel and only a few amenities are open. I understand that it is a quiet day but each place that is closed is stating that we are in their open hours. Perhaps this resort has chosen to understaff and close non essentials but that seems rich given the price.

The natural beauty of the mountains is breathtaking, but the ski resort is lacking. The trails are not groomed and the lifts are outdated.
Ben & Jerry's is a famous ice cream chain originating from Vermont, recognized for its innovative and creatively named flavors. The founders, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, took over a defunct gas station in Burlington in 1978 and began experimenting with unconventional flavors that completely transformed the way ice creams are made.
Tours closed due to Covid. We went late one evening (around 6pm) and the graveyard was closed (maybe due to the recent snow? Idk). The only thing left to do was buy and eat ice cream! The service was fantastic, they answered all my many questions about the different flavors. Then we ate our treats in the car as it was too cold and snowy to eat in the outdoor patio. Would love to return once it’s fully open again!

This was high on our list of to-dos in Vermont, but to be honest, I only think it's worth it if you're doing other stuff nearby (like visiting the town of Stowe or the Cold Hollow cider mill).
The shop is cute and has a lot of ice cream options, but you can still get that in downtown Burlington.
You'd come to the museum to learn more about ice cream and how it's made, but the factory tour is very very short, and you see machinery, but not really much of the process itself.
We also watched a 10min video about B&Js history, which is interesting, but I'd rather watch that on my own (without making the long trip there).
There is an additional thing to see here, which is an ice cream cemetery. 🪦 The idea is interesting and funny, they have a sign for some of their popular ice cream flavors that got discontinued.
All in all, if you're a big fan of B&J's, I'd say it's worth going to see. If you're just curious about ice cream making, I don't think it's worth going. We still got some cute and funny photos and tried some ice cream, so not a wasted trip.

It was an amazing place to visit the main store. Definitely a fun trip, especially on a hot summer day. I mean you might have to wait a bit on the line to get some ice cream but it’s totally worth it! The flavor options are just so mind blowing. The hardest part is choosing which flavor to get. It’s a fun trip if you have kids, they were especially enjoyed the playground area. The flavor graveyard was especially hilarious and shows you some lost flavors. It will definitely give you a chuckle.

Great experience! The factory tour was very informative though I wished the production part would always be included on the tour, but you’ll know ahead of time if you purchase tickets in advance.
We had a sample of 2 different ice cream flavors. The flavor lab is where the 30 minute tour ends with a taste of broccoli ice cream…just kidding! It was Marshmallow Sky for us!! There’s a gift shop where all fanatics can get their goodies. Don’t forget to visit the Flavor Graveyard and the playground for the kiddies. Enjoy!!

Ben & Jerry’s The Original and only main store/manufacturing is AWESOME. This is the second time that we have been here and it didn’t let us down. It is a great place to grab a tasty treat, some great souvenirs, stretch your legs, take a fantastic tour and just have FUN. O did I mention you will have a fantastic visit. Because you will. Visiting the Ben & Jerry's Factory in Vermont was an experience that went beyond my sweetest fantasies. The tour itself was a delightful journey through the heart of one of the most iconic ice cream brands in the world. Seeing the ice cream-making process up close was fascinating, offering a unique glimpse into the craft and care that goes into every scoop.
What made the tour even more special was the exclusive flavor available to those who embark on the factory adventure. The Maple Walnut, a flavor I had the pleasure of tasting, was simply out of this world. Its rich, creamy texture combined with the sweet, nutty flavors of maple and walnut captured the essence of Vermont in every bite.
Throughout the tour, the generosity with samples was incredibly impressive. It's not every day that you get to indulge in such a variety of Ben & Jerry's flavors, each more delicious than the last. This abundance of samples allowed for a true exploration of their flavor repertoire, making the experience as enjoyable as it was memorable.
Beyond the ice cream, the tour was infused with fun and education, making it a perfect outing for families, couples, or anyone looking to dive into the world of ice cream. The enthusiasm and knowledge of the guides added a personal touch that brought the factory to life.
In conclusion, the Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Vermont. It's not just about the ice cream (which is fantastic); it's about celebrating a brand that has brought so much joy to so many people. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the wonders of Ben & Jerry's, this tour is an unforgettable journey into the sweet, indulgent world of ice cream.

Factory tour is closed but one can still get ice cream cone so this is nice. I got change is brewing and child got strawberry cheesecake. I forgot my 51 cents for a pressed penny so I need to remember this next time though. The 40 min wait for ice cream was noted at beginning of trail of top 10 so I appreciated they knew a wait and posted wait times. Worth wait.

I was really excited to visit this factory and we even got lucky and scored an experimental tour of the facility on the day of our visit. The tour was very informative and we had ice cream samples as we went from one room to another. It goes without saying their ice cream was fantastic. I have many fond childhood memories associated with Ben and Jerry’s and it was great to finally see this place. The founders of the company do a lot of good for the world. It’s also funny to see the flavor graveyard. I would definitely recommend to check it out if you’re in Vermont!

We went on the factory tour to get a chance to see how the ice cream is made. It was a cheap tour for about a half hour long trip though history. It was pretty fun, ending with a secret flavor. Lots of ice cream available at the shop. It was really cool to check out the flavor graveyard and behind the scenes. Staff were super friendly, be ready for a ton of ice cream and cow puns!

The tour was great but make sure you book online in advance. It opens up 2 weeks before. The tour guide was informative and funny. You get some free samples and can ask questions etc. It isn't a long tour but just enough to keep small kids interested. There's also plenty of other places to visit while you're there like the flavour graveyard, a small kids play area, gift shop and scoop shop to get more ice cream 🍦 There are also pots of other places for photo opportunities. Really good value for a fun few hours out with the family.

Visiting Ben & Jerry's headquarters was a dream come true! The moment I stepped in, the sweet aroma of freshly churned ice cream filled the air, creating an instant feeling of happiness. The staff was incredibly friendly, sharing their passion for ice cream and making our tour not just informative but genuinely fun. Seeing the behind-the-scenes process of how they create their iconic flavors was fascinating and left me in awe of their creativity. And of course, the best part was the tasting session - a paradise of flavors that left my taste buds dancing. The experience was not just delicious but also heartwarming, knowing the company's commitment to sustainability and social causes. A must-visit for any ice cream lover!

The Ben & Jerry’s factory tour in Waterbury, Vermont offers a delightful experience for ice cream enthusiasts. Like me.
The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly the flavor tasting. Visitors get to sample a variety of euphoric ice cream flavors, including some that haven’t been released yet. It’s a treat for the taste buds!
The overall atmosphere at the factory is fantastic. Whether you’re exploring the Flavor Graveyard, enjoying the views of the Worcester Mountain range, or simply soaking in the ice cream vibes, it’s a fun and uplifting environment.
Production I
While the production process isn’t explicitly detailed during the tour (for safety reasons), visitors can still observe the factory floor from an observation gallery. Witnessing the magic behind the scenes adds to the experience.
Locally Owned and Operated: Ben & Jerry’s remains true to its roots. The locally owned and operated Waterbury ice cream shop allows you to enjoy your favorite flavors just as Ben and Jerry intended back in 1978.
Overall, if you’re a fan of ice cream and want to immerse yourself in the Ben & Jerry’s world, this tour is a must-do when visiting Vermont! 🍦🌟

This is mostly a review on a new flavor that Ben and Jerry’s released. So recently Ben and Jerry’s discontinued my favorite flavor “Chocolate Peanut Buttery Swirl” and I was absolutely devastated!!! I ate that one for years!! However, their new flavor Chocolate Peanut Butter Split is a PERFECT combination of Chocolate, Peanut butter and banana. This is my new favorite flavor and I know this came out as an Exclusive flavor it won’t be available for long so I’ve been stocking up, but all I have to say is it’s AMAZING and Ben and Jerry’s need to seriously consider making this a permanent flavor. I never thought I’d get over the discontinuation of Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl until THIS flavor came out!!! Ben and Jerry you’ve outdone yourself. PLEASE KEEP CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SPLIT PERMANENTLY!! Please and thank you ❤️
About the Factory: my family has a timeshare in Vermont and every summer since I was a kid we visit the Ben and Jerry’s factory in Waterbury and we have always enjoyed the tours with the best samples of new flavors they come out with. Due to COVID and I believe recent construction their tours haven’t been running for a while so I wasn’t able to take it when I was there the past couple summers, but visiting the Ben and Jerry’s factory has always been a big part of my childhood and my family and I always make sure we stop by every year for a treat together. We even had the great opportunity to meet Jerry one time at the factory during one of our visits! Will always be a big Ben and Jerry’s fan 🍦❤️

Went on a day mid-week where there were way less people. And in November. So it was much less packed than usual and it was still somewhat busy.
Ice cream is excellent. We took the tour. Tour includes taste testing twice, including a scoop of ice cream at the end. You get to see the factory and the ice cream being made. They have an ice cream graveyard which is funny and interesting to see.

Fun place to bring family to see how ice cream is made and get to taste some very tasty ice cream. Strawberry cheesecake ice cream is my favorite. Plenty of parking and plenty of free EV charging stations also. As the attendant in entrance where is EV charging and make use of it. To buy ice cream there is a 30-40 minute long queue on busy days. If you have tour finish it and stand in line.

I loved the tour it was great! The movie clip was cool and inspiring. I loved seeing the factory and we had marshmallow sky samples I think that's my new favorite flavor 😋 I went to see the flavor graveyard it was fun reading the tombs. I went to the scoop shop afterward and got a small ice cream on a waffle cone. I picked a new flavor called, lights! caramel! action! I also took a pint of the blueberry sorbet to go. It was a fun experience and I'm glad I went and checked it out.

Awesome half hour tour. Great explanation of the history of Ben and Jerry’s. I wish more companies would have the same great philosophies if running a business like these guys do. Great experience. After the tour you get to sample one of their ice creams. Delicious. They need to figure out a better system to purchase ice cream. Standing in line for an hour in the cold is a bit chilly.

Yo dawg! I heard you like ice cream. So I bring you to Ben & Jerry’s factory, so you can eat ice cream on a cone while smelling ice cream on the ice cream factory tour to learn about ice cream and think about ice cream then get a free sample of their exclusive ice cream.
On a more serious note. This place is popular (for a good reason) so reserving the factory tour online is highly recommended. However, even if the online tickets are all sold out, try your luck at the kiosk in person and you may still get in.

I had a blast visiting Ben & Jerry's Factory in Vermont! I love the cool and creative design of this factory! The tour from start to finish took about a half hour. I was so impressed watching their video documenting the origination and evolution of Ben and Jerry's! Super impressive worldwide achievement! It was neat to see the packaging process, too! After seeing the factory, we were given a sample flavor of the day. It was definitely a great way to end the tour! I really enjoyed this mini adventure on our road trip to Stowe!

I have always loved Ben and Jerry's ice cream and getting a chance to visit their factory and eat the fresh ice cream was such a dream!
It was totally worth taking the tour (priced at just $6).. we visited on a weekend but were able to purchase tickets on the spot. As part of the tour, you get to see a video of how Ben and Jerry's originated, see their factory and learn how the ice cream gets prepared and finally get to sample a flavour that they are working on. Our guide was funny and answered all our questions!
We also purchased our favourite flavours of ice cream once we were done with the tour. They have a unique maple flavoured ice cream that is not available anywhere else! The flavour graveyard was hilarious and fun to visit. They have many other photo stops that are fun for kids and adults alike.

We had a BLAST at the Ben and Jerry's factory experience! You start off with a short film about the history of the company, then get to see the factory in action. Unfortunately, there was emergency maintenance undergoing while we were on our tour, so we didn't get to see much. After the factory tour, you visit the Scoop Shop and try an unmarketed flavor! We tried Marshmallow Sky, which will be in stores later this year. So exciting! Make sure you take a trip to the Flavor Graveyard. We found this entertaining and there are some flavors I wish they'd bring back. Ben and Jerry's is a must when visiting Vermont!

I had an amazing time at the Ben and Jerry's factory! The staff was incredibly accommodating, the tour was awesome, and the tour guide was both amiable and very educational. Even though they're not super pet friendly, they do allow dogs outside the buildings and everywhere except the factory area. They greet you at the door, and the factory tours are inexpensive. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about how ice cream is made. Don't forget to have fun and get some ice cream!

It was such a fun experience we really enjoyed the visit! I only wished we had more time inside the factory it felt a bit rushed. We bought our tickets online and everything went smoothly. Ben & Jerry muscled their way into the ice cream business and seemingly did that with a sense of fun and humor. You may not like their politics but you have to admit they make/promote good products and they did it smiling. The factory visit is a must. It’s a light tour given by quick witted employees well versed in cow jokes. Yes cow jokes… the kind of lame stuff dear old dad might say.
Moo-ving on … The factory had been closed for the winter when we were there and they had a skeleton crew checking the machines , cleaning the machines, going over inventory, that kind of thing. No pics are allowed inside because, well I honestly don’t know why but they made out like “making ice cream in Vermont was akin to NORAD telecommunications”. I mean really, come on people it’s ice cream in Vermont not the Colonel’s Secret Chicken Recipe in Kentucky.
But these employees have a great sense of humor. Just out side the factory is a graveyard for ice cream flavors that are no longer being sold. It’s quite clever, and worth the walk. The reason an ice cream might stop being made was interesting - sometimes public interest just wasn’t there and sometimes a particular ingredient might become too costly to mass produce - so it gets the graveyard even if it’s still popular. I really admire some of the clever things this company does and I equally admire how they grabbed the ice cream market and made it their own.
Ben and Jerry are no longer involved in ice cream, they run an affiliated foundation which of many things has promoted defunding the police and facing “sins of the past”. I think a better goal would be to fund “anti obesity” projects in the US, given that their products have certainly played a role in “an ever growing America”.

Spent the day hitting all the best spots in town because we were supposed to get a ton of rain, and it ended up being such a nice day. It was about an hour away from our AirBNB to get into Stowe and I fully believe that if we drove exclusively to enjoy the $3 donut ice cream sandwich that I picked this spot for that it would've been worth the drive just for that.
Cold Hollow Cider Mill was a very unique general store feel, it had souvenirs and junk you'd expect to run I to on vaca trip, but it also had a honey section with a live and see through beehive to watch which was super cool, and of course the apple cider donuts and soft serve ice creams at the counter.
Delicious and fun with a lot of interesting junk.

I was excited to kick off the fall season by visiting Cold Hollow Cider Mill on my road trip to Stowe Vermont! The cider mill was very quaint. I enjoyed shopping in their general store, finding lots of unique odds and ends. The cider making process was also interesting and fun to experience. I was slightly disappointed in their customer service. One of the reasons we stopped in was for their legendary donuts we had heard so much about. Unfortunately, even though we were willing to wait for a hot batch to be made, they insisted they could only sell what was immediately available. The cold donuts left us disappointed and uninspired. I threw half of mine away.

This is a fun place to stop, be prepared for crowds and have patience. The donuts are delicious, ours were hot and fresh! This place was so cute!!
They have two sections that you can go to.
The first section was like a store. They had all types of goodies that were made with apple cider or that you can use for cooking. They made fresh apple cider donuts in house that were so good. Then in the back you can see them making fresh apple cider. I didn’t really know what to expect When people made apple cider but it made so much sense once I’ve seen it. I was so fascinated. They also had tastings of this cider which was SO GOOD.
The next section was a little café. They sell food and drinks. They also had a bar which you can get hard apple cider tastings. I don’t drink apple cider that is spite, but my cousin did. I have a taste, and what I can say is that the cider was strong! It had great flavor, though.
All of the employees were really kind to us when we were in the shops.
This is definitely a must stop when you were in Vermont. The Cidermill is on the same road as the Cabot Creamery store and the Ben & Jerry’s store.

It was many years ago that I visited this place on a class trip. Hadn't been back for 30+ years. My girlfriend and I have been back here three times in the past 2 years. It's a must-visit when we're back in Vermont seeing family. Buy some fresh-made donuts and munch while you shop. Go to the tasting tank and sample what cider is supposed to taste like. If you're lucky you'll get to see the press in action at the viewing room. See y'all again in December 😉

To be honest, it was probably a fault on our part to not have researched a little more but I was expecting a visit to Cold Hollow Cider Mill to be a little more experiential. It’s 100% self guided and it’s up to you what you do. There’s dining options and drinking options as well as shopping. Because we weren’t really sure what to expect we mainly walked around. We did check out the bar area where we ordered a flight of their alcoholic ciders and sat in their cozy lounge but there wasn’t much of an experience given by staff. What I do wish we’d done was buy more maple syrup because the little vial we bought was so delicious we drank it in one sitting! Overall, I’d return but with a better idea of an objective.

Loved the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Everything Vermont all in one place. We were able to find so many things we never knew we wanted. They also have a bakery where you can get the best cider donuts with a cup of maples flavored hot chocolate which was perfect for the cold weather we were experiencing. If you are in the area, definitely stop in and take a quick browse, I guarantee you will get something.

The Otter Creek Brewery is a popular spot with a visitor's center and pub offering handcrafted beers and New American cuisine for lunch. The brewery has received positive feedback for its well-kept site, friendly staff, and clean facilities. Visitors have enjoyed the good variety of brews and ciders, as well as the accommodating management team. The inviting space, fantastic beer options, and affordable pricing have also been highlighted by patrons.
Some excellent vegan options and really good beer. They also had Long Trail guest beer on tap.

The Beer is OK. Deffinately not the best
But their events are always WIKED FUN!!!! The staff is usually VERY FRIENDLY, and the food is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the beer. Small local brewery with good food, decent beer, and great vibes if your still allowed to hang out.
DO NOT miss their events. always a good time

I would prefer 3.5, but I’d rather just round up to 4 if I had to choose between a 3 and a 4 because it is a well-meaning business.
The site is well kept and the staff is friendly. Everything seemed very clean including the bathrooms. Not busy at lunch time on a Saturday for Labor Day weekend which was surprising. The food and beers we had were good.
They really need the rethink their sides. A tiny salad or tortilla chips (potato salad was out that day)?? I’d rather have potato chips, fries, or something similar as an option. The tortilla chips were just not good (dry and thick with no salsa) and the salad was nothing special.
The interior is an odd space too. It gives me mall food court vibes with its uncomfy, hallow metal chairs.

We loved it here. Great beer and the manager and his assistant were so accommodating since we stopped in before opening. Good variety of brews and ciders to try. T shirts awesome. Nice picnic area. Lots of fun. Definitely will go back next time we're in the area.

The stout was phenomenal! The pulled pork mac and cheese was delicious. The new GM was super kind and friendly. How's the mac and cheese recipe coming along?

Small but inviting eating and drinking space. Good menu variety and the beer options are fantastic. Friendly and efficient wait staff and pricing are pretty affordable. Beer samplers are the way to go.

Whew this place is busy. Beer was decent. Nachos were decent. It’s way too loud. The servers look like their heads are going to explode it was so busy. And nothing was going on in the bottling area, through the looking glass. Boring.

Otter Creek is an beer and great brewery with pub to try some of their tasty brews and some really good food. I had smoked corn beef and the Tiny Larger. When ever we are in Middlebury we always stop in. One of these days I'm going to do a tour and kick back enjoy a few brews and some good grub.

The food was great and you have to be living under a rock if you haven't had any OC or Shed beers. I like the outdoor seating and the games are great for kids. It's dog friendly too as most places are in VT.

Visiting from Kentucky, drove 25 minutes with our two dogs from our campsite to go bc it was highly recommended from two different people in two different conversations. Upon arrival it said "patio closed." I asked if we could just sit out there and have a beer, the answer was "patio closed". I heard the business just reopened last week from COVID closures(another reason we went was to help a local business), you'd think they'd try to make it work. Oh well for us, WE WILL LITERALLY NEVER BE ABLE TO BE BACK...
Recommendation for people with dogs, go to WOODCHUCK, bc they don't serve food, they're allowed inside too.

Great beer and great food. A great place to visit, try a selection of the beers with lunch and then take some beer home.
Modern condo units in a scenic mountain setting with casual dining & year-round activities.
Place was great. Service I gave a 3 because it was off season in April and nothing was open on site other than the store and fun zone on the weekend. Other than that, the kids pool was a lifesaver. We had 5 kids 8 and under and we spend a lot of time there. We stayed in the. Tamaracks. Very spacious and cozy.. View of the forest from. Our window was spectacular. Definitely great. This was our first time visiting.

To be honest 95% of the staff was excellent. The resort was outstanding. Our room was awesome. The shuttle drivers were great. The restaurant scene was nice. 1 employee in the pizza/ice cream place was nasty on 2 occasions. Once to my daughter and then to my sister. I understand that sometimes people have a bad day, but 2 instances in just a few days is unacceptable. Someone needs to let her know when you work in a resort that the goal is to ensure that the patrons enjoy their experience. A little smile and a pleasant tone goes a long way. But enough about her. If you are considering a trip to smuggler's notch I recommend it fully.

I know there was a serious incident leading to one of the pools being closed…I understand that completely. However, the hours for other amenities are random and often not adhered to. Food options are poor and hours unpredictable. Poolside bar not open despite posted hours saying otherwise. This is our second summer here and will be our last. There are plenty of other options in New England that put out effort to create recurring guests, some might even go so far as to have an option for breakfast. The best option for breakfast here is an undated Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich sitting in a warmer in the country store.

What a beautiful resort. My family’s first time in Vermont and we will definitely visit again. This was a relaxing vacation, so we did not go on a lot of adventures. The local community was warm and welcoming, and the front office team was as well.

What a beautiful resort amazing time. Really enjoyed being there with my family. They have rooms for different reasons. The rooms have everything you need. Bring eggs and other food u can cook as the restaurants are all at driving distance and it takes time to get the food. And they have dish washer so u all set. Amazing time for the kids we couldn't get them out of the place Kicking and screaming on the way out all the time.

Rented a condo for a week in early spring. First time there - loved it. The property is nestled right into the beautiful landscape of the state forest preserve, surrounded by tall trees, cascading streams, and high peaks in all directions. The condo was amazing, comfortable and clean with all the amenities one could want in a vacation home. Can't wait to return.

This is a fantastic place for a family ski trip. The staff are exceptionally friendly and they have a ton of activities geared towards kids and family fun. The condos are very nice and well maintained but lack some small things like all the things you need to really cook in the kitchen. Nothing here is luxury, buts it's nothing to complain about either. It's meant for families and its absolutely perfect for that. The food is fairly good, but not great. It's over priced, but that's typical for a ski resort. They have a teen center for the kids and some evening activities moat nights for the family. They have amazing skiing with a wide variety of trails. The lessons are fantastic and e eryone had a blast. But the lifts are just doubles and not high speed. So you spend a lot of time on lifts. It wasn't a big deal, but it's worth nothing. Overall it's a fantastic resort and i absolutely plan to bring my family back again.

Stayed in the Owls - beautiful view, updated 4 bedroom unit was laid out great and we loved the kitchen, laundry room, family room and deck. It was great to have an ice machine downstairs too for our daytime excursions.
Friendly, helpful staff, easy check-in. Hiking and zip lining/climbing nearby.
Nice indoor pool and splash play area for kids, but note it’s only open NOON- 7 pm, which was kind of annoying because it’s a sleepy little town that pretty much shuts down at 8 pm (early June) and it would be nice to be able to hang at the pool or hot tub at night.
We would totally stay here again.

Great location! Lots to do at the resort and close to a ton of activities around Smugglers Notch. Our group hiked, saw waterfalls, rode the Gondola, stopped at several breweries, mountain biked, relaxed at the resort, did Ben and Jerry's tour, golfed, rode horseback in the mountains, and ate at several great restaurants! We also visited Church Street in Burlington for some shopping and views of the waterfront. Vermont is stunning!

Overall nice resort, everyone complains about the lifts and I can see why. It's not only the lifts that need to be brought up to speed though. It seems like your stepping back in time even when your staying on the resort property. As much money as this place brings in they should give some of it back to the guests in the form of renovations. Trails were amazing.
Nick Lubach — Google review
The resort itself is nice. The rental units are comfortable and relaxing. However, they nickel and dime EVERYTHING here. The staff is rude. They have no lodge over by the kids/beginner hills. (Unclear to me if there are lodges anywhere else) everyone just tosses their stuff at the pizza place, apparently. When you ask questions you are met with disdain. The place is disorganized and they are clearly understaffed. It’s impossible to get a bottle of water nearly anywhere.
We rented 5 sets of skis. I purchased a lesson that included a lift ticket and ski rental. All the other skis worked fine, but mine were clearly unwaxed to the point that my ski instructor told me to unlatch, go down to the rental place and have them reschedule me for the next day solve I was just going to hurt myself. He specified that my form was fine, and he tried scraping the skis off once before sending me back to rentals. Once I arrived they told me he shouldn’t have said that and that they would not provide a lift ticket, or lesson for the next day, and that I could not receive any refund or credit.
I paid $160 to… not ski?
Additionally the rentals are located on the other side from the lessons so you have to hike either down through the village or up through the mountain base to get there. This is rough on anyone w injuries and daunting for new skiers.
All their advertising says they’re great for families but they have no lodge for families. There’s little to no bathroom access . Staying hydrated is next to impossible and you are constantly gated to pay more. The communication is non existent here. They don’t tell you where to go or what to do but employees are frustrated when you do it “wrong”. My family skis all season every year & we will never be back here. Horrible experience 0/10.

Good mountains, much fun, yes recommend. The Valhalla of disc golf. Can't imagine what this place is like when it's ski season as it's one of the most beautiful places I've been and it was summer. There's literally something for everyone to do even if you aren't an outdoorsy type. My one nitpick is the condos are somewhat outdated. We had issues with the washer dryer setup all week. Not something that bothered me particularly but if I have a gripe that's it.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Club Wyndham Smugglers' Notch in Vermont, and my experience was overwhelmingly positive. One of the standout features was the generous unit size. We opted for a two-bedroom deluxe unit, which comfortably accommodated 8-10 people. We specifically stayed in unit 6 of the Sycamore building, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Pat Fuller, a former Massachusetts native from Wilmington. Pat's friendly demeanor and welcoming attitude set the tone for our stay, and he truly was an asset to the Wyndham property.
Contrary to some reviews I had read about staff attitudes, I found the entire staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay.
While the unit's interior may have had a slightly outdated feel with its wallpaper, I personally appreciated the cozy, 1980s-1990s vibe it exuded. It was evident that the unit was well-kept and maintained, which enhanced the overall comfort of our stay.
One aspect to note is the narrow roads leading up to the resort, which could be a bit challenging, especially when two cars are traveling in opposite directions. However, this minor inconvenience didn't detract from the overall experience.
The Club Wyndham Smugglers' Notch offers numerous family-friendly activities and dining options, making it a great choice for those seeking an all-encompassing vacation experience. I had the opportunity to dine at the Lodge by Hyatt just down the street, about 4 miles away, and I must say, it served the most incredible burger I've ever had.
In summary, my stay at Club Wyndham Smugglers' Notch was exceptional, earning it a solid 9 out of 10 in my book. The friendly staff, spacious accommodations, and charmingly cozy atmosphere more than compensated for any minor imperfections. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort for a memorable Vermont getaway filled with positive experiences.

Loved it. Great place for family and friends. Perfect for beginners and professional skiers. Only thing..we were a family of 8 so it was hard for dinners at restaurants. But it was ok..we just decided to eat in..cooked our own food. Other than that, cool place..lots to do. Great for kids.

For the price you pay NOT WORTH IT. Employees aren’t very nice and take their job way too serious. No trash cans anywhere. Terrain parks never open. Lifts are old as hell. There are plenty of other mountains that are way better than Smuggs. Don’t waste your money here. You’d expect a much better resort for how much they money gouge.

Absolutely amazing time at Brewfest weekend at Smuggs. Conditions were great for spring. Better second day after some snowmaking. Brewfest was great, excellent selection of local beers and ciders having apps included and 2 days of breakfast was very nice as well. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool after a day of skiing. Everyone was super friendly throughout the weekend. Will definitely go back.

Smugglers notch is a fantastic place to go with your family and friends to have a very enjoyable ski experience! There are a lot of kid friendly activities outside of just skiing like laser tag and a pool. The amenities are great and overall has a really nice homie ski area vibe to it.

Used to ski smuggs all the time in college but haven't been back so far north in awhile. Found a good excuse to drive up for the eclipse. Stayed a night, spent two hanging around the mountain and it was a wonderful time.
Loved everything we tried here. There was a lot of variety (in wine varieties and other things such as cider), and Jamie was a personable and knowledgeable host. Also greatly enjoyed the well done cheese board and chocolate boards with a glass of wine on their patio.

While exploring the northern part of my home state, my wife and I found Boyden Valley and we were excited to stop in for a tasting. The grounds are beautiful and inside the tasting room you are able to have a flight of 10 pours from their extensive list of wines, ciders, and distilled products and keep the glasses as a souvenir. We were both very impressed with the knowledge that our guide Amy had with all of the products, and her easy going and welcoming attitude while we spend some time here (she even takes a great 📸). After the tasting they do offer cheese and chocolate boards as well as a maple milkshake. I purchased some of the Vt ice maple creme liquor to try out at home! This was a brand that we have tried before, as they had their iced ciders in Bennington's CiderPolza in the past. We're so fortunate to have been able to stop by there Winery and get to know some more products from their helpful staff.

Playing tourist while visiting family in Vermont and did the drive to Smuggler’s Notch. Saw Boyden Valley Winery along the way and thought it’d make a special time together even better. I have photographed a number of times at this venue and the weddings at this venue are amazing. Laurie and her staff were super accommodating, timely and organized. The views are picturesque and the night time scene is something out of Pinterest. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a great Vermont fall wedding, whether or not you are a wine drinker.
Vermont's oldest state park, with camping & views of Lake Champlain & the Adirondacks from its peak.
Great hike! Not too long, a little steep. Took about an hour or two to go up to the summit and back down again. The view from the summit was outstanding! In one of my photos you can see Lake Champlain in the distance. I highly recommend it! In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I nearly missed my flight out of Burlington.

A great park that's enjoyable all seasons. It's a shorter hike as it's only 968 feet high but the view is stunning and the trails are well maintained. Friendly to dogs and manageable for small children - we took a 5 year old who walked up and down. It has a campground area as well and some great views of Charlotte, Lake Champlain and surrounding areas. Probably my favorite hike within 30 minutes of Burlington.

A very nice place to camp. I found I would prefer car camping to tent camping here but as long as you have what you need to be comfortable this is an incredible place to stay. The staff was great and welcoming, available to answer any questions we had. The quarter operated showers were very nice during our trip. It is also only a short walk to the peak from their top parking lot. I hope to stay here again!

Short, fairly easy hike. There are some steeper spots, but there are rock stairs in those spots. Nice resting area at the top. Well maintained. I would guess 40-45 minutes for most can be done in less time if desired.

$4 per adult entry fee for all day access. Port-o-potty access in parking lot, clean and maintained. Trail seems recently refurbished and enhanced for hiking safety. Upper alternate trail currently closed. Dog friendly. "Season End" November 1st - not entirely sure what that entails. Philo is always worth a quick hike for a stress-free day!

I think it is the best scenery in Burlington (so far.)You need to hike for about 30 min which is not that bad. And you will get a very beautiful view. Specially I recommend it to look at the sunset. It was so gorgeous

The hike up was under an hour and had quite a few interesting landmarks. Very stunning veiws from Mt. Philos Summit of Lake Champlain and the surrounding area. Watching the total solar eclipse from the Summit was other worldly, It's a shame my camera can not replicate what the human eye can see.

Great spot for sightseeing, picnicking etc., although a bit small. We went on a very hot, humid August day and it was not very crowded, but during autumn, it's probably packed. There are beautiful vistas of southern lake Champlain at the charming park at the summit, which is surrounded by dense hardwood forest, that are no doubt magnificent during fall colors season. There are only a few picnic tables and grills, so get there early!

This state park hosts an easy to moderate trail that has been seriously upgraded and is very well maintained. Be aware, there are a TON of stairs on the main trail, but there is a road that can be walked as well. The trail is wooded and summit views are nice, but there's a lot of foot traffic, especially on weekends, so if you like solitude this may not be the trail for you. It's easy enough for a great family hike, and it well loved by dog lovers (MOST are good about following the leash regulations).

My girlfriend and I were on a road trip back from Montreal and happily stumbled upon this incredible gem of a state park at sunset. Nathaniel graciously permitted us to get to the summit and enjoy what was one of the most beautiful and picturesque sunsets we have ever seen, ending our vacation on a truly magical note. There is a pavilion at the summit with Adirondack chairs for optimal sunset viewing pleasure as well. Cannot recommend this park or it’s caretakers enough! A must-see!!

Love this place! We drove down from Canada for the weekend & camped here 4 nights at Pine, one of the lean-to sites. It’s technically a walk-in site, but we were able to park the car less than 10m from camp. The site felt super private & there were plenty of trees for me to hang up my hammock as well. Bathrooms/showers were another 10m down the hill. The lean-to was amazing; we didn’t put the fly on the tent at all since it was covered, & we had enough space inside to arrange our chairs & hang out on the nights that it rained. Firewood is reasonably priced at $6/bundle & free (albeit wet) kindling. No ice sold at the park but the gate attendant gave us really helpful directions to a nearby gas station. Park staff were super friendly & helpful, and the view at the summit was absolutely gorgeous! Lots of bugs on the weekend we were there, but that’s to be expected given all of the flooding Vermont has experienced this summer. All in all, would visit again.

Breathtaking Panoramas. Hike to the summit and be rewarded with expansive vistas that stretch for miles. The park's minimal light pollution makes it a haven for stargazers, offering unobstructed views of the night sky (perfect for catching an eclipse too!). Be prepared for crowds, especially during peak times, as word has gotten out about this hidden gem. But that's a small price to pay for such a magnificent spectacle.

A great place for hiking and you can also drive/hike up via the paved road up to the summit. Great views at the summit with different spots to sit and enjoy. Plenty of Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, picnic grills. Firewood available at the summit for those camping and renting the summit lodge. For camping there are 7 tent sites and 3 lean-to sites. Dog friendly (must be on a leash). Wear appropriate hiking shoes!

Less than a mile hike from the parking lot to the summit (took me about 25 minutes). Great view of VT from the summit. Easy enough for children & dogs. 2 toilets on the summit. Many Adirondack chairs for you to sit down & enjoy the view, or yo read or take a nap.

Absolutely breathtaking views from atop Mount Philo, overlooking the area, including Lake Champlain. This would be an excellent location to have a picnic, take a moderate hike, or simply drive to the top for a beautiful view.
We planned on taking a balloon ride for our anniversary, but were trying to figure out when to get it in and were concerned we'd have to wait until next year. When I called to see if that was possible, Jeff offered to take us that afternoon as some space was open on a trip. We had a most beautiful day and were treated to several unusual experiences including a proposal that happened on the trip, a touch down on he Winooski River, a sighting of a friend outside her house taking pictures of our balloon, and a flight that took off and landed on the same spot! Jeff and the whole team were very professional, concerned for our safety, and wanted to give us the best possible trip. We had a lovely time!

This was for my dad's 80 th birthday and he was in awe. my parents are in pretty good shape however Jeff's ingenuity helped them enter the balloon more easily.. thanks Jeff!!
Jeff was in contact with me throughout the week, because unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating however, luckily it changed. I also loved their toast at the end and the history of the balloon. Everyone was very knowledgeable. Made us feel very special!
The only improvement I would say is the beginning had a long wait to fill the balloon with air. I wish it was mostly blown up when we got there so we weren’t standing in the field as long.
Overall, A1 experience. Recommending this to everyone I know!!

Jeff, I wanted to thank you for the great experience. It was amazing not only the flight but your team. Although I know perfection doesn't exist, it was PERFECT‼️The weather, the people, you guys, the people where we landed, your dog!!!! There are no words to describe how extraordinary the experience was. I wish it could last forever. Every step is precisely described on your web and confirmation email, a great help to arrive well prepared. What a professional team you guys are. Thanks forever!
We had a one-night staycation at the Essex last week and my family cannot wait to return. First, the staff are wonderful. Second, the hotel is beautiful. Everything about our stay was gracious and generous. From the coffee, tea, hot chocolate station, smores kits. We dined at the Tavern for dinner and breakfast and it was fantastic. We got to spend an hour at the pool and it was clean, warm, not hyperchorinated, clean towels, changing area, big outdoor hottub. Great gym, too. I even remember the housekeeper's name because he was so nice. I realize the hospitality business is short-staffed but we never felt like the Spa at the Essex was cutting corners. Bravo. We brought home chocolate cannolis and I made a mental note as to which framed photos of local farm and outdoor scenes (for sale) were my favorites. The Essex delivers everything they promise. We can't wait to return even though we live only an hour away!!! Thank you team Essex Spa-- keep up the great work.

Came here as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. She had a nice massage and I purchased the Day Pass to accompany her after.
Nothing negative to say about the staff, or the spa area itself. The sauna, locker room, and steam room were great. The area was also very clean and everyone was very pleasant.
The pool and hot tub area though was a different story. Leftover towels, plates of food left on tables, dead plants in pots near the hot tub, mildew, and deteriorating grout in the tiles were very sore to the eye for the price you pay. It made me wonder why the day pass is $50 if they don't bother to use that money to pay for people to help keep the area clean, especially for their hotel guests who are spending $$$ there. On the plus side the water was clean, and the hot tub was very warm.
I overall enjoyed the Spa, but in comparison to nearby spas in Quebec (which are cheaper, cleaner, and bigger) I second guess coming back here again to solely use the day pass.
The spa area (sauna, massage, rest area, steam room, locker room) I would give a 4/5.
The pool/hot tub would be like a 3/5.

This place was just okay. We went for a staycation in 2021. The rooms were definitely nice and we got a good price on a room for 1 night due to COVID. There was a long "line" to get into the outdoor hot tub which doesn't feel very relaxing...The sauna was closed (because of COVID) which was a bit of a bummer but, I understood. I got a massage - the pressure wasn't the best and didn't feel like an hour long at all. I thought it was crazy that they put a 22% fee on top of the massage cost. It's really expensive for what you get and I definitely prefer Stoweflake over The Essex.

The best bang for your buck is purchasing the day pass here. And its valid for the entire day from 6 am to 9 pm. Its only $30. Free surface parking lot. I came here after a long day of wine tasting and ended the night in the outdoor hottub. Indoor pool and sauna and steam room. It was a very relaxing last day in vermont experience. All of the amenities are super clean.

Wonderful end to a nice romantic getaway in the green mountains. Very experienced & friendly staff, we did a couples massage and ended the day enjoying all of the amenities offered with the massages.Next time we will definitely try additional services.

I emailed and called with no response. 3rd time I called, I spoke with someone. I tried setting up a spa day for 2, but they only have 1 nail trch so we couldn't get mani pedi's at the same time. One would have to wait and then vice versa.

We love this spa. The attendants are so unobtrusive and the spa is so lovely. Eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, nice showers, outdoors hot tub that's coed. Treatments have always been top notch when we've visited. There's multiple coed lounges upstairs. We had lovely pedicures from Ally in the massage chairs. Facial and massages were also wonderful. It's our favorite couples retreat destination.

I went here for a wax, haircut, and nails. Wax was great. The nails were average I wouldn't go again for them but they were fine. The hair cut was horrible. I paid for a wash, cut, and style. The hairdresser rushed though the wash because and I quote "this is my least favorite part." She then chopped my hair just straight across and didn't dry it fully. I didn't know how bad it was until I went to dinner at my aunts and she finished drying my hair and showed me how choppy it was. I called and left messages. When I finally got through I was told they would refund me for the hair cut and a manager would call me right back. Then they ghosted me and never gave me a refund. Horrible costumer service. Very disappointed. I wish I could've at least gotten a call back. I even offered to come back in and show them/let them fix it, but still no reply. I wouldn't go here for anything only for the fact that their costumer service is terrible.

Really pretty, smells wonderful, and places to relax.
I had a nice massage and used the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and pool, and it cost me around $180. They offer to pay a 22% gratuity on their services, but that is a bit steep, so I elected to pay 15%, which still gave the masseuse a $23 tip on a 50 minute massage.
You can use the facilities for the day for $50 without getting a spa service but get the spa service, so nice!
They offer facials, too. The showers are nice, the lounges are comfortable.
I am a bigger woman, so next time, I will bring my own robe. They do give robes and shower shoes that are better than average. I am a size 20 pants, and the robe was just a tad small, but enough to make me a bit uncomfortable.
It is a truly good thing to care for yourself and reset your mind into a positive place, and The Spa at Essex is a great place to do that. Enjoy!
PS: I went to the tavern after massage for lunch before using the facilities. It was very good food. I had the Tavern Burger, which was yummy and unique. Onion rings were overcooked this time, so I did not eat many. Service was a little slow, but I came at the end of lunch. I would definitely go back, better than average and very reasonable prices.
I also want to go to their main resteraunt. I checked out the menu, and it looks enticing. I think it opens at 5pm?They have a Tomahawk steak on their menu that I may need to share with my husband for a special occasion. Anyway, this place is now on my run away and recharge for the day list of things to do. I will be going often. I will let you know about the main resteraunt next time I go back. Maybe in a couple of weeks.
Add this place to your have to go check it out for yourself, list!
