Love the wine and the friendly & knowledgeable staff/owners! We did the wine and chocolate pairing today and Mary was great! Thanks for the great wine and good conversation.

We love Naggiars. You are always greeted with wonderful warmth and welcoming. The wine is amazingly delicious. There's a feeling of family and even when there is no music or food trucks it's the place to be!

This is an absolutely fantastic place to have a venue where you can get together with people and friends and have some entertainment.
In this case it was a friend's birthday and an entertainer (DJ) Carlos Kandia that he follows It was at the winery and so he invited friends to celebrate his birthday.
It was an awesome time everyone there including the non-birthday guest had a great time mingling with the people who were there for the birthday.

Always wanted to visit this winery - loved their red wine blends, and the location out in the foothills was intriguing. The winery is in a beautiful valley, somewhat remote - nice drive along 2 lane roads, followed by a mile or so along a rough dirt road. You even get to see Bison along the way. Really. The winery met expectation - reasonably priced tastings, and as with most wineries, you get to taste a lot more than what they advertise. Their outdoor covered is beautiful with lots of tables, overlooking a pond. Great views. That’s where we had problem number one - I guess they advertise the winery as family friendly, which sounds OK unless you have to deal with two mothers who brought four young kids along with all their toys. The kids ran wild, totally out of control and ignored by the parents. When the daughter pulled out a tambourine, that was the end for us - we politely asked the mother to have her stop, and were met with the “It’s a family friendly winery”. BS. It’s not a family room. You expect parents to have some control over their kids. And the winery does nothing about it, since a lot of their customers are locals. This pretty much ruined our experience. Problem number two - every winery I’ve visited, and that’s a lot of wineries, drops the tasting charge if you buy a few bottles which we did. Not this place.
Overall, the winery is beautiful, great staff, and the wines are very good. It’s a great place to spend a summer afternoon on the patio, with a glass of fine wine and some snacks (you can bring your own food). I recommend taking the drive out there and hopefully you will not have to deal with uncontrolled kids.

Friendly folks in the tasting room. They have the best Viognier in the Sacramento region. If you prefer reds, you should try their Barbera. They have a great shaded patio to sit and sit your wine, while looking out over a serene pond. In the summer, they usually have free live music on the patio on Friday and Saturday nights. They also have about 6 paid concerts with top level cover bands each year. Not sure about entertaining this year with Covid, but they are doing a great job of keeping everyone safe.

The drive is completely worth it with these timeless treasures... the wine is outta this world, the snacks are melt-in-your-mouth worthy and they always hit the spot 😋
Plus every event is absolute perfection and done phenomenal ❤️🥰😍

Obsessed with this place! Wines were incredible as well as the service. Marianne was our wine expert taste pourer. Great conversation with great wine! What more could you ask for! Will for sure be coming back and sending people this way!
Our first time at Apple Hill and Boa was our favorite! The BBQ Polish dogs and hard apple ciders were delicious! They had a cute pumpkin patch that our toddler loved! We’ll definitely come back! We went on a Tuesday so the lines weren’t as long and we’d recommend coming during the week. One of the people who worked there said the lines can get so long that security has to close the line so get there before 4! They try to be done with the bbq around 5 or 5:30.

Great place for fresh produce all year round. And very good hard apple cider 🍎🍺

Love the vase variety of fruits! Delicious apple donuts - chunks of apples with the right amount of sweetness, cinnamon, brown sugar. Apple fritter was good but the peach dumpling was the highlight! Yellow peaches with brown sugar, cinnamon filling wrapped with a flaky pastry! Must have if it's in season!

They are open 363 days a year, closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving. We have been frequenting this spot for over 25 years.
During the Fall, they have kiddy tractor pulled rides and a pumpkin patch. In December, the Christmas tree farm opens for the month. They host special events throughout the year. Year round… they have a bakery selling fresh doughnuts, pies, and cobblers. They have a hard cider and beer tasting bar counter. They sell house made jams, jellies; frozen pies and pastries; fresh local fruits (lots of different kinds of apples) and vegetables. They even sell hot bbq. There is a specific ordering protocol for that though. The orders are taken and paid for at the bakery counter and you will be provided a receipt. You then take the receipt to give to the staff at the bbq grill. Most likely there is a line there, ask folks if they are waiting in line to give their order receipt to the bbq staff or waiting to pick up their food. The staff will take your receipt and call out orders as they are done. The tri tip is fantastic.

Had a great time! So many items to choose from! The freezer case has a wide assortment of take and bake pies and other delectables. Fresh fruit and lots of canned jams and sauces. The pumpkin patch was a fun walk! So many pretty Fall colors this time of year.

Boa Vista is great. I’ve been here a couple times and the market has good quality items from produce, meat, and speciality items. The food offerings here are really good and ample parking. It would be nice to have a few more options with the little shops but overall great experience for the family!

Nice stop for an easy farm stand experience year round, with a covered, open air feel. Quick place to grab some apple donuts or specialty donuts, drinks, local cider, fruits and veggies, sauces and preserves, with a small grocery and specialty snack section. There are outdoor eating tables available, and sometimes a lunch stand or food truck.
Alisa Kao — Google review
A very nice stop. One of the better farm stands, I think. There is some food and drink to be had but we were more interested in trying an apple beer and berry wine. We were unable to get the attention of anyone to staff the bar but, in fairness, we gave up after about 10 minutes, so we didn't try super hard. This is the reason for only 4 stars. Otherwise good.
Mike Lopes — Google review
It's not necessarily a quaint and cute farm, but more like, "get all you want and need" farm. We got pastries at their pastry store inside. They had a huge selection of pumpkins, fruit, honey and miscellaneous items. The only thing they really lacked on was apple and pumpkin bread. Couldn't find any.
Overall, great quick visit for everything we wanted.
Get here early to avoid the crowds.
They had a sample booth, a handful of craft and food booths additionally.
Eclarebear — Google review
Great place for your family to visit anytime of the year. They have fresh produce from close by farms, great apple cider, fruit wines, and beers. Pretty good BBQ that pairs nicely with their alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Try the glazed apple donuts - I was lucky to get a still warm one and it was "WOW!"
WARNING: They are crazy busy September, October, and November. We can't wait to visit in the off season!
Mike Isaacs — Google review
I love this place. They always have seasonal goods and food. I love to buy their salad dressings as I find them good and unique. The apples are a must to take home 🍎 I enjoyed pumpkin ice cream this time of the year. The pumpkin pie is delicious and you can also purchase sugar free pie.

If you're going for Mother's Day weekend, change plans. You will wait over 2 hours to get 1/2 of what they state on their Strawberry Festival ads. No Strawberry Pie. No Strawberry Cobbler. The Strawberry Sangria is almost a lie: its made from Blackberry Hard Cider and some imitation pink colored Strawberry syrup with a slice of strawberry in a 4-ounce plastic cup for $7.00 which is bad tasting. The Strawberry Fudge tastes bad, too. The worst part was biting into a Strawberry Dumpling and finding most of the strawberries had turned totten. Ugh! There is nothing special up there-just Boa's way to drum up business as cheaply as possible. I thought there would be something for the kids: face painting, Strawbeery Character, or SOMETHING. No! No more than a few Dollar tree strawberry signs. Too hot, not fun, and bad food. Not my way to spend this first great weekend of beautiful weather with family. Bad job, Boa. You failed!

Great spot! They offer an amazing array of Fruits, grass fed meats, canned products, fresh baked goods, and a phenomenal amount of ciders and wines

It's a gigantic carnival-like roadside stand for fruit, meat produce, etc. There's often a grill for meat, a bakery, freezers of pies, ice cream, multiple artisan booths, and anything else that can be profitably sold. In other words, it's a nice place to visit. On entertainment, there was little, but everything else worked. Recommended.

Nice shop in Apple Hill. I should have bought my apples here because they had honeycrisp and cheaper than the grocery stores. They had syrups, jams, and pies and baked goodies!
Get the grilled brisket 🥪 sandwich with the maple bourbon sauce! And the blackberry turnover was filled with so much fruit!

Very nice market. Loved the samples. Half brisket sandwich was $8 and not really worth it. Still an excellent experience. Arrived on a Wednesday at 10 and there was ample parking.

Such an unforgettable experience. I went with my cousins and we got the apple beer taster, the pomegranate one was sooo good! It was such a nice atmosphere and very kid friendly. The little market indoors was so charming and the brisket sandwich was to die for. 10/10 can't wait to go again.

I love going here multiple times a year! Best Caramel Apples in California! Their pies and donuts are absolutely delicious. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. *Just know you can not bring your dog to this part of Apple Hill because it is a store.* It's very worth the drive to come. It's open 363 days of the year, so you do not have to wait for the right season!

Not a bad pit stop in the Apple Hill area. Was a day too early to visit the lavender fields in the region for "lavender days". Yet they had amazing lavender donuts that are absolutely worth the trip alone. Yummy lavender & blueberry pie. My first time specific at this orchard for any occasion. Been in the area before, but this orchard itself has soOoOoo much to offer year round- can't quite yet give them five stars until I experience more. I'm sure plenty of folks do think of them as five star. Great Farmer's Market vibes with excellent food and produce offered year round. Happy I poked my head in.. knowledgeable staff eventually told me about what to explore in the area for my liking. Great gift shop ideas, plenty of parking, handicap access & more made this a destination I plan on visiting again, my next days off from work. Missed their cherry days fest by one week. Nonetheless, definitely an orchard to consider when looking for harvest & seasonal exploration! Nice start to my summer.
Gold Bug Park & Mine is a historical museum that offers an audio tour of an 1880s gold mine, along with a blacksmith shop and gem mining. The park also features short trails for hiking, an old stamp mill, and a smaller mine that visitors can explore through a self-guided audio tour available for $10 per person. While the fee seems slightly high, the main attraction of the park is undoubtedly the mine itself.
The tour of the mine itself was okay. We had followed a family in to the mine and it was hard to listen to our audio guide with another audio guide playing nearby. It would have been nice to have a transcript of the audio to read instead. Maybe there was an option we missed.
What we really enjoyed was the second part visiting the stamping mill and blacksmith area. Mike at the stamping mill was very helpful and informative sharing lots of interesting facts and demonstrating how the stamping mill worked.
The park and trails looked well-kept but we did not have time to stay and enjoy those areas. It's conveniently located near downtown Placerville making it an easy stop.
Abbie Woodruff — Google review
A nice smaller historic park with a few short trails to hike, an old stamp mill, and a smaller mine you can explore for $10 for a self guided audio tour. The rest of the park is free except for the mine, which is really the main attraction. The mine is a cool feature to see, and is worth doing the audio tour, however I wish it wasn't $10 per person. A $5 fee for the self guided tour seems more reasonable, or even a $5 fee for anyone to tour the park seems fair. Worth a visit if in Placerville, and if you have children.
Brendan Kiely — Google review
Awesome experience for kids. They can do some gem panning, visit the mine, hear stories of the blacksmith.
Victor Berchet — Google review
Loved it. Going through the caves and learning great history was pretty sweet. Don't forget to visit and see the blacksmith- absolutely impressive.
Sarah Pettit — Google review
We enjoyed the mine tour thoroughly! Friendly people, awesome historical facts and demonstrations made this stop fantastic! Fun walking trails too!
Tina D Corter — Google review
It's a small mine, but has a phone narrator, and plenty of cramptness, poor light, low ceilings, and the like. It also has some beautiful mineral formations. It's unlikely to interest many children, unless they're very curious. I enjoyed the veteran's discount. It's also has a stamping mill and blacksmith right across the way.
Maksim Smelchak — Google review
Really nice place
It's open for self guided tours - you get a helmet and prerecorded audio on a phone, and off you go to the mine!
It's until the very end of the tunnel - which is rare for all the gold mines I've had a chance to tour so far
A few of the lights didn't work - so you may need to use the flashlight in your phone to look at the spots you are supposed to be looking at (otherwise it's very well lit)
They also have a full size stamper mill 5 minutes walk away - in the price of the mine ticket - it's a bit uphill, but it's good enough for a short walk (there is trail which leads directly to the parking in front of the stamper mill)
Behind the mill there's blacksmith workshop - it's really nice. The blacksmith can teach you real skills if you're interested!
Filip Zakrzewski — Google review
Amazing experience. My favorite part was going into the mine tunnel. It was chilled, dark, and dripping with water. IT WAS GREAT.
Tour guides (Stamp Mill/Black Smith Shop) were excellent too! I definitely recommend visiting this location. The fee is $12 per adult, $10 for veterans.
Shaddoe — Google review
Not a huge park, but bring a lunch and you can spend about 2 - 3 hours here. The actual mine your walk down was an awesome experience (bring a sweatshirt, even on the hottest day), I would say for all ages 5+ highly recommend. Light hiking in the area and a small gift shop and museum. Blacksmith open on select days.
Adam Nelms — Google review
Quiet place for hikes. My kids enjoyed the self-guided mine tour, stamping mill, blacksmith and panning for rocks and gold. Nice small gift shop, nice people. Bring lunch, there is a nice covered area with picnic tables.

We had a great time with my grandson. The mine is cool and a little wet in spots. The self guided tour was neat to listen to. Kinda small but what do you expect? We bought souvenirs, had a picnic and hiked. What a day.
Old Town Pizza is a popular spot in Auburn's Old Town, offering a diverse menu that includes sandwiches, salads, and of course, pizza. The pub-like atmosphere provides a cozy setting to enjoy handcrafted coffee at The Pour Choice, the local favorite coffee shop located in the heart of Old Town. Visitors can expect efficient service even during busy times and generous portions of food at reasonable prices.
Our first time here, ordered chicken wings taste sooo good we ordered another one ti go 😂. Tried their pesto pizza and Mother load both tasted good including the garlic bread. She’s our server was also nice. Will be back again!

Place was reminiscent of an early 2000’s pizza place where you had your 8th birthday party and invited most of your friends, even Dillon who peed himself the year before. You all get pizza and Dillon puts the black olives on his fingers pretending he’s a gecko, while you take mental notes not to have him on your kickball team at recess tomorrow.
Good times. Good vibes.

My pizza was superb! The crust was thin and delicious. The toppings were fresh, vibrant, and flavorful. The sauce was delicious but not overpowering. This is the best pizza I have enjoyed in a long time! The service was excellent. The interior is very open and spacious yet felt very warm and inviting. If you like beer, they have about 15 different ones to choose from. This place gave me some nostalgia for the old pizza parlors I frequented back in college. My pizza looked and smelled so good that I forgot to snap a photo before I took a slice.

Just moved to downtown Auburn. We walked to Old town for Pizza. We have had Old Town pizza before but not in the restaurant. Tonight we sat at a nice table. It was quite busy with a large birthday party in house. Sergio arrived quickly at our table with a wide smile and an honest desire to give us superb service. I was a waitress for years and can spot a fake smile. Not Sergio. He is the real deal, genuine , but I guess that you all know that already.
Long story short. Best service, best pizza. Perfect dough. Amazing!!! It will be our one and only pizza from now on. Bravo!! Delicious 😋

Love this old town, loved the old spot but happy they have expanded and grown. Tribute to their success.
If I may voice one complaint, it would be the Ranch 🤣 1st world problem, but myself and anyone I have ever gone there with mentions the taste of the ranch as being less than appealing. Maybe a new recipe in the works? Haha, other than that myself and my family love this place.

Longtime favorite pizza eatery. Located in old town Auburn. Customers come from many miles away. The most delicious pizza to sink your teeth into. Crust is perfect too. Just slightly crusty on bottom as it should be. Pizza has all fresh toppings, very cheezy and very good sauce. 🍕Yum😋

I'm a new fan!
Party of four, we all ordered our own separate and different pizzas. Everyone left happy. We shared a huge salad and that was excellent, as well. Nice beer menu. All the servers were great, personable and put our dinners on the table in short order.
My first time in and I'm looking forward to doing more research.

Wow, this place is really good for a pizza parlor. The service was great. Our host did her job and wasn't playing with her phone. Food was generous portions (most places minimize portions now), and the dining area is very large, so you don't feel cramped plenty of room for large gatherings. Dinner for 2 with adult drinks under 50.00 with appetizers.
It's worth the drive for a pizza night.

The calzone was pretty good, and my friends said the pizza was fire! My one complaint is with the salad. Why do yall only put 1 whole olive on the salad? Just one..... 3 stars for that lol

I have to say, this is the best pizza I have had in a long time. The crust was cooked perfectly and the toppings were generous. The sauce was very flavorful. Our server was polite and helpful. We will definitely be back!!!.

Came here to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night, party of 8. We had reservations-- and a good thing because they were super busy! The pizza was absolutely delicious, as was the salads and garlic bread. We feasted!! The service was good, although it dropped off significantly about halfway through the meal. The whole table had to keep their eyes peeled/ participate in flagging down our waitress when it came time for dessert orders and then later the bill. We never did get an opportunity for a second beverage, but as I said, they were super busy, so I don't think that is their normal M.O. Parking was a BEAST. the parking lot is tiny, and Auburn being Auburn, there is very little parking elsewhere. We wound up parking up a S.F. style hill and had the joy of having to hike back up it after dinner. All in all, I'll be back. But I suggest off peak times!

We love old town pizza! I ordered online for a delivery Saturday night to be delivered at Auburn Gymnastics! I forgot to request the delivery time and they were so fast with the pizza by the time I called they had already made a delivery attempt! They were kind enough to take back and re-deliver at a later time. However, when it didn’t arrive I gave them a call, they graciously acknowledged that they forgot to re-deliver (my fault to begin with) and would make the pizzas immediately and deliver asap! They DELIVERED! They pizza arrived just in time and it was amazing as usual! I really appreciated how they were so kind to fix my screw up! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen on Saturday!

Cool location esthetically, parking can be a challenge, but that's normal for old town. The service was slow, and aperizers came out with food, so there is no real point in ordering those. We ordered chicken wings that came out without any sauce on them, and the meat was dry, we had to ask for BBQ sauce to dip them in. The quality of the pizza was good for the price. I've been here a few times. Most of the experience was around this level. Keep your orders simple, and you can walk out at a good value on the pizza for the quality and size.

We have been enjoying pizza from old Town pizza for many years. That ship has sailed. We booked a private party. Waited to be contacted (within 24 to 48 hours). After 5 days of waiting, we ended up calling them. That's when we were informed: "we can push a couple tables together, but it won't be private... oh and YOU HAVE TO SPEND A MINIMUM OF $550." Yeah... NO THANK YOU. Bad business move. Bye bye otp. 👋🏼

Museum in a courthouse exploring county history, with Native American artifacts & a gold collection.
Pretty cool place to check out. We were in Auburn for my son's birthday, to check places out. The museum was a cool surprise in this beautiful town. It was cool to see the jail cell, old electronics that changed the advancement of human kind for the better. Old phones. Old medical supplies, and farming tech. A real cool place to check

I found the museum to be a very wonderful and lucky way to spend time while waiting for an appointment. The exhibits were very professional and well together. Towards the end was a wonderful film that was very entertaining to watch.
Their museum covered such locally, relevant topics, such as growth of technology, the railroad, and the transportation of goods.

Located in the courthouse, you'll have to go through security and metal detector to enter - no worries, the officer was very nice. This museum, located on the ground floor, is small but thorough and free. I loved the nod to Native Americans and the variety of exhibits. The Wanted bulletin board was very interesting to read. You could easily spend an hour here. Would recommend for anyone visiting the area

Red Hawk Casino, a 24-hour gambling establishment, offers an extensive array of slot and table games. In addition to the gaming options, Red Hawk also provides childcare services, retail shops and five restaurants. While the pandemic has forced the permanent closure of their buffet, guests can still enjoy dining at their new food court. The casino's Asian restaurant Pearl serves delectable dishes such as Sweet and Sour Pork, Pork Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken in large portions.
Very large casino with multiple floors and accommodations. Explored the buffet and arcade areas. There is a Kids Quest kids care drop off/ Arcade combo and a bowling/car racing area on another floor as well.
Advice: If you eat at buffet I recommend going 30ish minutes before dinner so you can try the lunch and dinner options!
Buffet is $35 for adults and $15 for kids. Children 5 and under are free!

I did need assistance on the floor and the machine was fixed in no time.

I visited Red Hawk on an assignment to photograph the giant rock water features at Red Hawk's main entrance. I was treated to dinner at Pearl, the Casino's amazing Asian restaurant. I ordered Sweet and Sour Pork, Pork Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken. Servings were large. The food was delicious.

Fun casino, and the bus routes to get here are a huge plus too. Not a fan of the higher limit table games and the rules however. Craps should not be $10, that's why the table is so empty. Craps are also dice to cards here which is expected for California. They also feature too many 6 to 5 blackjack tables. Food options are also very limited later at night and only the coffee shop is open late.
Buffet runs around $30-40 depending on day. Buffet used to be good but definitely went downhill a bit. Food is definitely off, like too salty. The pork belly was very tough and same with the oysters. The Asian food is decent. There is no more gelato or ice cream bar in place of a soft serve machine.

Red hawk is awesome they treat their guests very well. Stellar customer service, I felt like a millionaire the way I was treated by the staff and will continue to visit this casino. There are many opportunities to win big money but there are pitfalls as well. They have a free soda and coffee machine for all guests and players. The beds are super cozy and there is a free breakfast as well. It’s worth a stop if your passing through

We absolutely loved our stop here on our way to South Lake Tahoe! So many things for the kids to do: bowling, arcade, the amazing indoor go kart track that is so legit! We also grabbed lunch at the Cafe which was fine for a quick bite and not fast food on the road. If you have kids and are on your way to or from South Lake, consider popping in, they will have a blast (there is also babysitting service for kids up to 12 if you want to have a dinner alone!)

Loved the Koko Buffet (seafood on Fridays and Saturdays). Tons of selections. Friendly service. Only takeaway is that they usually don't take "walk-ins" but what was kind of dumb was we asked if we can make a reservation, and the hostess said yes. The next available is in 10 minutes. So realistically, it was a walk-in.
Poke Bar is amazing. Freshly made shrimp scampi is available upon request. They have a salami, cheese bar. Desserts bar. Mexican food. Steak and pizza. Definitely must try!!

It is nice here but pretty far for me. I do come once in a while. This casino does pay off. I had a great time. Customer service is great they are prompt and nice staff are also great. I enjoyed my time here. Went to the buffet, it was good food was good I would go back soon.

The casino is cool, except that you have to go to the bar to get drinks or demand service. The hotel is extravagant. The bar at the Apex is ok, but you have to demand service, especially if they are busy. Basically, their customer service sucks, and if they are really busy, it sucks even more. Now, look, I am not saying that the servers are bad, they do their best. I just wish their best was better. The servers are nice and do what they are trained to do. This is the management's fault. While I was waiting for service, at the Apex bar, I had two managers stare at me, and one finally asked me if I had been helped. Instead of helping me, she instructed a busy waitress to help me, and it took another staff member to ask her to get to us, and it took her another five minutes. They need to change out their managers and better train their staff. They need to be more customer friendly.

Went to race cars at the Apex and it was so much fun! Price was reasonable for the race time. I liked the safety features and training video was helpful. 12 year old grandson had a blast!

One of the better casinos in the area. The parking is tricky and the buffet is permanently gone due to the pandemic but you can always eat at their new food court where the buffet used to be. Super friendly staff and tons of slots and table games.

We went to enjoy the huge and delicious Seafood Buffet. It was just as good as we had expected. You must make a reservation or you may not get in at all. We played slots in the smoke free area near the Buffet after dinner and had a fun time. Love the self serve drink stations too.

Casino is in Folsom county i visited here first time..
Casino has mostly slot machines, Roulette has 1 machine can play 6 players..
But it was good that someone can start bet from 25¢ ..
Machines are quite old compared to SKY RIVER CASINO (ELK GROVE) built new..
On tables it was minimum 10 or 15$ for all games..
Soft drinks were not served on table, it was self service
Kids section was on 6th floor , brainy kids can win tickets to get gifts..
My kids won 2000 tickets and got some gifts..
Overall it was okay experience

Stopped just to see the place. It is just huge. Free drink stations around the casino. Visited the Apex area which has bowling, race car experience, virtual reality ride and other excitement. Lots of eating places too.

My family and I had reservations on 12/18/23 at 1:00pm. We were seated promptly and noticed how clean the restaurant was. The food was of good quality and served at a proper temperature, pretty much what you would expect at a Casino buffet. The gentleman who was tasked with keeping the tables free of used dishes was amazing, hardworking and polite. I took the opportunity to thank the on duty Manager who also amazing and welcoming. My overall dining experience was above average but mostly due to the hospitality and I will return.

Redhawk buffet is spectacular! I visited the Casino floor and lost a few bucks. It was my fault, I don’t believe in gambling in the first place. I didn’t spend the night in the rooms but I can tell you the hotel lobby was gorgeous. I’m only writing this review in regard to the buffet. I’ve been there twice and both times were pretty
good. Also, my 17-year-old visited the Apex. I believe he likes it 😄🙏

This Casino really has done great things over the years in regards to improvements! The tables and slots here are like any other casino, but the buffet and bars and other restaurants are excellent! The staff is friendly and willing to assist in anything you may need. The food is fantastic, and the price isn't that bad. All in all, this casino is a good place to go if you're looking for somewhere to go kill some time and spend some money.

The buffet declined in food selection and taste after covid. It is still better compared to other casino buffets. Price is $57 pr person. Players card can give a discount. Casino slots are tight and need better ventilation (smoke congestion), the drink fountain is great!

After some slot machines, I went to lunch in Koto buffet today 3/10 for seeing some good review for their sushi (big sushi fan myself). However I was so disappointed when seeing empty tray at the counter . Not to mentioned it is not appealing as I saw in the photos of the 5 star review 3 weeks ago. Hope management will retrain whoever in the sushi counter during lunch time today.

Pretty good casino, but honestly the buffet and the indoor cart race is why I come here. The buffet is amazing and if you go on Friday or Saturday they have crabs and lobster on the menu. It's moderately priced and you can get a tiny discount if you're a rewards member with them. The buffet offer a wide array of foods but I would honestly recommend the snow crabs. They even offered a seasoned snow crab legs which is the best in my opinion. Also the indoor racing is fun when you have competitive family or friends :) last but not least I like how they have open soda and coffee machines throughout the casino so you don't have to go to a bar or ask a receptionist to grab a soft drink. And I don't know if it's me but for some reason I never win anything at this casino as compared to others. Overall a fun place to go!

Since the opening of Red Hawk Casino, our family has often come to the buffet to eat. We came to the buffet again today at noon. The sushi produced today is very amazing. Not only has the variety increased, but the presentation is also very exquisite. The fancy sushi presentation is also impressive. Rosette plate decoration made of cucumber. It turned out that there was a new female chef, who was very professional. Looking forward to eating Japanese sushi at Red Hawk Buffet on the weekend.
Always a fun family favorite place. Lots to do for the kids with petting zoo, rides, and activities. There are food and drinks at various venues available for purchase. There are zip line rides, horse rides, train rides, and shows. My favorite is the Pig races. And of course they have pumpkins.
Rodney Rose — Google review
It's fun, it's crowded, it's expensive. But it's a tradition. I recommend going during the week when the parking is free and the tickets for the activities are cheaper. During the weekend the parking is $20 during the week it's free. Entry into the farm is free.. The tickets are 99¢ ea during the weekend and 89¢ ea during the week. The Zipline is 12 tickets weight limit is 50-250lbs (on a Sunday we waited in line for two and a half hours), the corn maze varies between 2-8 tickets depending on how big the maze you pick. Train ride is 4 tickets, airplane ride is 5 tickets, petting zoo is 2 tickets (animal feed is 3 tickets) coyote mountain is 5 tickets, carousel is 4 tickets, and the sunflower maze is 2 tickets. There are some free climbing structures and other things, slides, and giant tires to climb on. There are various places to eat on the farm including some food trucks on the weekend. The pony rides are $8 and the face paintings range from $5 for a small item like a tiny pumpkin on the cheek to $15 for a full face paint.

My brother invited us and it was so fun! So beautiful! Awesome variety of foods and drinks! Our only complaint is the pumpkins, gift shop, and SOME of the food/drinks are way too pricey.😓😬 But we came prepared with our own lunches. It's awesome that they allow food from home because there are lots of people with dietary restrictions and allergies, thank you Bishop's team!🙏💝 Pricey stuff but we still had a such a great time with my brother, his girlfriend and my mom.💞 We WILL be back because we have leftover tickets and Bishop's staff says they don't expire!🥳 Praise God!🙌
UPDATE: we went back last minute and it was even better this time!(except we missed the rest of our family this time😔) Today we went early morning, packed a hot meal with hot chocolate, and the Fall weather was amazing! There's something for everyone here: agriculture, rides, animals, historical stuff, food, drinks, art, gift shops, playgrounds, live music, fun shows, and more! We missed the pony rides this year but we're definitely planning for next year. Thanks again, Bishop's team, you guys are so sweet!💞🙏🤗

Probably the best Pumpkin Farm I’ve ever been on!! Went for my niece’s 5th birthday party. What a nice surprise of all the things to do, things to eat, etc. The staff is friendly and easy to approach. The lines were a little much but we were also there at the peak of the day. Loved the train ride and yummy cider. I actually can’t wait to go back! Both Adult and kid friendly!

Great fun! I take my daughter annually. She loves the animals and train. She also loves getting sunflowers. The cute slushies are with it! I had the float. It was like apple pie a la mod in a cup! Lots of places to sit and rest while the kids go crazy. Love the rocking chairs!

Our family really enjoys Bishop's Pumpkin Patch. It's our favorite of all the patches we've visited. Beautiful scenery, pumpkins of many colors and shapes.
Lots of activities to entertain children: Carousel, jungle gym, slides, petting and feeding farm animals, train ride etc. Favorite of all is gerting a hay ride to the pumpkins to pick one.
The atmosphere is lovely, the smell of apple spice and lots of goodies to purchase from the bakery and the store. The corn mazes are really cool too. The staff are truly amazing and very happy to see everyone and make out visit a pleasant one.

Love coming to Bishop's. We visit multiple times in the season. I am surprised that parking is $20 on the weekend and they usually don't charge until October but they started on September 30th. I like to come during the week and let the kids play on the play structures. We get dinner, snacks, cider, beer, and you have to make sure you have one of their pies at home while they are available. Every year they upgrade and make it better, it can get crowded but it is totally worth coming.

My favorite spots are the u-pick sun flower farm, petting zoo and corn maze. The train is fun to go on a short ride and see giant pumpkins. Bishops is awesome for the whole family! There is a wide variety of activities from riding the train, painting, going on slides, panning for marbles and watching pig races! It's a great place because there is something for everyone. The pumpkin picking fields are huge! It is a very busy location. We enjoyed going earlier in the season (sept.) before it got too crowded. Check their website for specific information about rate changes and available events throughout the year. Their blackberry cider is so good! I recommend this place to anyone looking for a day of fall fun!

I've loved Bishops since I was a kid, and now my kids have grown up going and love it. It was always my small hometown fall activity. It expands every year, which is amazing butttttt The downside is that it is a huge "tourist attraction" now & its overly packed with people, which is much less enjoyable.

I went blind into this experience. I thought it was just gonna be a farm with pumpkins but the arrival shattered my beliefs. The place is a wonderful spot to bring the family or a date with these feelings of nostalgia. There was nothing I didn’t like and I was more giddy than my girlfriend. Best thing I’d say is the Apple Cider Floats.

The visit to Helwig Vineyards & Winery proved to be a delightful experience, thanks in large part to the excellent service provided by Camille. While the wines did not entirely align with personal preferences, they were characterized as being excessively fruity, soft, and occasionally overly oaky. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the wines was still commendable.
Best food! Best service! Best views! Best wine! We love coming to Helwig! Try the Birria Grilled Cheese sandwich and the onion rings are famous paired with the sparkling Rose!

We have a very enjoyable visit, mainly thanks to Camille's great service. The only thing was the wines were not my style, they were a bit too fruity, soft and a few were a little too oaky. But they weren't bad, just not my taste. The view is very nice, although we were the first appointment we got sat towards the back of the patio while the tables near the front and the best view were empty the whole time. It was a nice stop and worth it if you're in the area and like the wine style.

I like that they do concerts in their amphitheater
The wine is good overall
But some other winery's in the area offer better

We've been members here for a few years and find it to be a sweet spot of palatable wines, location, and grounds in Amador. The Roundup Red (also Dusty Trail) here was our go-to table wine for a while until we discovered we could buy barrels from Napa for about the same price. The members selections were somewhat hit or miss but we enjoyed the diversity and you can readily switch out any wines you don't like for anything else. They offer case discounts and the staff are always friendly (we always look for Lewis).

I was skeptical about this place considering the drive out but they did not disappoint. The wine was phenomenal and the service even more so. Contemporary rooms in a casino hotel with dining options, a pool, a spa & conference facilities.
Was given 1 Comp night per week because I use my rewards card at each game I play. They also give free gifts if you have a rewards card. The gifts are very impressive! My friend and I had such a great time we spent time at the pool which was very clean & well maintained. The room was huge and so beautiful we were treated like first class patrons. Enjoyed the service and the complementary room. All though several thousand dollars prior to me getting a club card and using it a couple thousand dollars afterwards it was clear my luck was not changing anytime soon.
Win some lose some at times but I really enjoyed the friendly accommodating service with the hotel staff and the staff on the gaming floor and cashier's were fantastic. I work crazy hours mostly in the late night early morning grave yard hours, which having a room is really nice. Thank you for the hospitality and great service that came with it. This review is specifically for the music venue. I am a quadriplegic and in a power wheelchair. Mine is one of the most narrow chairs they make (Permobil). I have tried TWICE to go to concerts there and TWICE I was sold "wheelchair accessible" that are not even close to being wheelchair accessible. The first time for Third Eye Blind , I had lower level ticket and upon arrival they told me that my chair would not fit where my seat was. They then put us off to the side where I could barely see. The second time I went to see Blues Traveler and bought balcony "accessible" seats thinking they deserved a second chance but nope! The seat I purchased had to be removed with tools and then it was not even close to wide enough for me to fit. They then removed the other seat I purchased for my companion so I could fit and sat them in a seat we didn't purchase. This inevitably led to a problem when the owner of the seat showed up. We were eventually moved to a different spot. This is a warning to ALL wheelchair users to be aware that what you are buying as wheelchair accessible is in fact NOT unless you are able to get out of your wheelchair. EXTREMELY disappointing in 2023 at a brand new venue. I will never return again which is a shame because they have good shows. Seems they do not care about having disabled people at their venue.

34 trips. Zero wins. Terrible payouts! TV is disappointing to say the least. To go consistently and notice that something is definitely off when the payouts are dwindling, the bonuses are nonexistent, and your money does not go far at all. As someone who plays regularly and has a track record of success, I’d say I have an above average knowledge on how the machines act and react. It is painfully obvious that the wool has been pulled over mine and everyone’s eyes who walks through their door. Yes, it is a business, yes, they are set up to make money, but the percentage payouts must seem to be set so low they are virtually nonexistent (FYI tribal gaming, does not have to disclose % payouts in the state of California, which is a huge disservice to the general public). The only explanation to describe my continued experience is that the slot machines are rigged, adjusted, or tweaked in some form or fashion. you will lose. Save your money. I can’t say it loud enough. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

This is the best casino for my wife and I to play at, enjoy food and the rooms and feel the fun. The steak house, Red Lantern and Thunder Cafe are all really good restaurants. The staff are friendly and fast. The casino is always clean and security is all over the place. The hotel rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Our casino host Gabe constantly sends us invitations to so many promotions. He is awesome. The concert venue is gorgeous with so many great acts. Our odds of winning are comparable to your high limit Las Vegas casinos. I cant say anything negative even the parking is great. Cocktail waitresses are all over so your never thirsty. Thunder Valley is our spot. The best of the best.

Thunder valley is one of my favorite casinos in the region. They have a great variety of both slots and table games. I also play poker every once in a while and there poker room is awesome. My only complaint would have to be there service for beverages. I’ve gone on trips plenty of times sitting thirsty and leaving thirsty. Self service beverage machines go a long way if they had them. Never had a problem with any employee interactions. They’ve all been respectful. Only a few waitress who maybe come and go because there rushing and so busy. But to me that is no sign of rudeness. I absolutely love the place. Great time and would come over and over and again.

Great resort and hotel staff service here is top notch. I want to thank Monica in particular in the reservation phone line - I was having trouble finding one extra night stay on a high volume packed week during poker tournament week and she went the extra mile to find an available room and follow up with me one day after. Really excellent service unexpected at hotels these days. I’d stay here again just because of the pleasant service. Great job!

They need to loosen up the machines a little bit...
I played two different machines and put a twenty dollar bill in each one, not a single spin had a winning combination. They could at least let you win a couple dollars at some point within those 20 -40 spins.
But they don't.
The only reason I go back is to get a burger from the high steaks steak house.
It's a big burger and 98% of the time it is very good.
French fries not so good, if the season them they are good but usually they are plain.
Thunder Valley loosen up a little bit for the small time spenders.
(The big spenders are always winning more. 10 dollars a spin and even higher).
If thunder let me win a little I would step up my bets a little more.

Our visit to the Casino was great, the location had a lot of great games to offer and play. The biggest thing I noticed was that a lot of the slots were kind high on the amount of minimum lines for the game, some as low as 15 others I saw were as high as 88.. No matter the place was great and we had a wonderful time.
The place was very clean and well maintained throughout. Also, the bathrooms looked great, and the new event center.
Overall a great place to visit Thank you for a memorable day for our family!!

This review is from our experience at the venue for last night's Bill Burr show (which in itself was fantastic). Thunder Valley Casino Management and attorneys: If you're going to have a stupid no-purse policy, then you need to provide an alternative, such as a purse check. Not everyone expects to be subject to such stupid rules, especially when everyone is required to walk through a metal detector. Myself and many other innocent victims were forced to either walk back to our cars or hotel rooms to return our purses. Because of where we parked this took me nearly 30 minutes resulting in missing the opening comedian. In addition to a coat check, stands posting such a rule should be prominently displayed throughout the crowded holding area where everyone is queued up to place their cell phones into the required secured and locked phone pouches, get their tickets checked, and walk thru the metal detectors. Lots of opportunity for communication!
The beverage lines were ~20 minutes. Way too long after waiting in the hot holding area for 20-30 minutes.
After the show was over, there were multiple exit doors available in the holding area. Instead of allowing patrons to exit through these numerous doorways, they had security guards standing in front of them, forcing people to walk through the smokey casino.
Lastly, the parking situation is poorly designed. There is only one entrance/exit when there could have been several created in the large parking lot across from the venue to alleviate traffic.
Obviously not the smartest people behind this whole operation. If the bean counters cared half as much about the customer experience as they do their beans, they might have more beans in the end.

I've never stayed in the hotel, but I rated the rooms a five-star because everything else is five star.
Play bingo for the first time on Sunday to kill some time and from 1 to 4:30 it was a fun time even though I didn't win any money. I spent $75 which was 10% off and the total came to $67 for a chance to win pretty good money though smallest game was $250 with $750, $1000, $1199, and huge bonus is available if you pay extra and you hit your game and under a certain amount of numbers. $75,000 was the biggest option, although I didn't have a chance because I didn't spend the extra money. Complimentary soda coffee tea water hot chocolate. They have a snack bar right next to the bingo hall that is available only to bingo players. Hot dogs are Nathan's, and they are $6.50, which is on the high side for hot dog but what are you going to do?
I was there for the poker tournaments which are some of the best poker tournaments in the world. Three or four times a year I think they have major tournaments. For example, the first tournament was a $400 buy-in in 1,500 people bought in over a 3 day period. First prize was over $80,000.
I even had a chance, I did finish in the money and came back for day too but was eliminated rather quickly and scored $760 $360 profit.

The room was large and well laid out. The wifi was fast. Unfortunately the mattress was hard and very uncomfortable. The pillows were nice and soft. The bathtub was really cool. Deep and filled fast, with a separate glass walled shower. If the mattress had been a bit softer I would definitely plan to stay again. Service at the front desk was quick, friendly and polite. I stopped by Panda Express on the way out. There was one man ahead of me in the line. After they finished helping him the two employees walked into the back and six minutes later they came out to take my order. The service was very slow.

I left my 16 yr old son in the lobby couch so I can check in (it was in the same area around 100 steps to the desk). Next thing you know the security was harassing my son for being unattended (radioing codes while asking who are you with). There are no signs that says DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KIDS in the lobby couch while checking in. The security said it’s because parents usually leave their kids unattended. I wonder if harassing kids will make the kids feel safer. THIS IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY HOTEL. Lastly, we stayed in the pool and ordered snacks and told the server to please charge to the room. When we finally went upstairs, front desk called and accusingly said we did not pay and that we should go to the pool to sign the check. I went downstairs after taking a shower and the pool staff were flabbergasted and could not find my check. Turned out it was already billed to the room. The rooms are big and clean at least and does not smell like smoke. Pool clean and there are enough chair lounges to sit on. Thank you for the racial profiling experience, we spent our stay reassuring my kids how to handle what your security has done.

Went for a show and the new venue is nice but, two issues ... the traffic control for parking is terrible. They haven't figured out how to efficiently get cars in/out. And then the venue makes you walk out of your way in/out of the venue, forcing you to walk through the casino. I get it, please play some slots while you're here but, it ain't gonna get people to play. Just let us out of the venue efficiently.

I felt service here didn’t care/ rude even after giving decent tips. One thing I hated, high limit player here, went to eat at the cafe at 6:30 pm in the morning. Ordered some food, they got me to go. The whole restaurant was empty I asked if I can sit here since I already ordered the food. The old waitress said people here get the full service since you already ordered you can’t sit here. Seriously, the whole place is empty and I even ordered my own food. This is my first time here. I have never seen such behavior at any other casino in the us.

Absolute worst casino period. I was just humiliated in front of the entire poker room because I was merely verbally defending myself from someone who instigated and the floor manager calls the security guards and makes a whole scene out of this. I was kicked out of the room without given a chance to explain and I’ve never felt so wronged or violated in my life. This establishment is a joke and I will never give another dime here after this disgrace.
In a way I see this as a sign to stop going to casinos to save my hard earned cash. You would think the least a casino can do is make the environment comfortable for everyone but I will never be stepping into this filthy casino again. Not to mention this place reeks of smoke and garbage. I’ll be telling everyone to stay the hell away from this low life establishment

I haven’t stayed there but the hotel lobby is nice. We love the entertainment offered at The Venue, but would like to see actual tribal cultural ceremonies, dance, song with a cultural center onsite as well to teach and educate the public about being good stewards of Mother Earth. A better ventilation system would encourage me to stay longer. We always make a stop at their delicious bakery counter for a treat to take home.

They are nice here and they don't trip if your sitting in your car security don't mess with you or look in your car when your gambling, They don't 86 you for stupid stuff like gold country, feather falls, hard rock and rolling hills does! You get free beverages you just go up to the bar and order soft drinks coffee etc for free! All the staff is kind! And the rooms are the nicest and clean! Definitely the best casino in Northern cali!! And you win here the slots aren't to tight! They definitely appreciate there custmers and treat them right!

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the wonderful service provided by the cocktail servers at Thunder Valley Casino. However, I had a less than satisfactory experience with one of the bartenders during my recent visit.
Upon visiting the Thunder bar to get a drink for myself and my wife, I encountered a new bartender who I had not seen before. I believe his name is Christopher and he is an older gentleman. I waited for quite some time, attempting to get his attention, while observing him assist other customers and tidy up the area. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, he continued to ignore me and did not acknowledge my presence for approximately 10 minutes. As a result, I had to seek assistance from another bartender, Jay.
I then proceeded to observe Christopher interacting with other customers, and it appeared that he exhibited similar behavior towards several others. This experience was disappointing and concerning, as it significantly impacted my enjoyment of the overall gambling experience at Thunder Valley Casino.
I genuinely appreciate the outstanding services provided by your staff, and I understand that everyone has off days. However, I felt that it was important to bring this to your attention in the hope that it can be addressed to maintain the high standard of service that Thunder Valley Casino is known for.

This is a big vibe type of casino. They offer all the typical table games and slot machines. They have tons of food options at the food court and some great restaurants. The last time I was here I discovered two table games I did not know existed. DJ WIlds Stud Poker and Chase the Flush. Two very exciting games. If you're a gambler and like action, I highly recommend these games.

First time there my friends won $3K on a big Wheel of Fortune! Paid out within 10 minutes! Tables were hitting too at some points, back and forth always.(But no specials for winners on rooms 4 stay...)
Watch out for your bet on Blackjack newly shuffled decks, dealer won 21 (3) times in a row on the first hand... Good luck!! 🤞

Great food.
Beautiful rooms.
Great service.
Over priced.
The place stinks and makes all of your clothes and belongings stink like smoke. It's hard to breath here and the smoke stings your eyes. It's worse than casinos in Reno.

I just want to remind people that casinos are designed to take your money. They don’t care about your life they don’t care about your rent, your car payment, your obligations, etc. their main goal is to get your money from your pocket and your bank account and put it in their pocket, I’ve been seeing a trend lately where POC are winning jackpots.you see it posted on IG and Facebook . It’s a good thing until it’s not. casinos are designed to take your money. They are designed to get you addicted to gambling please be careful .slot, attendance will tell you to sign up for a players card so you will receive free gifts meals hotels, and concerts. What they don’t tell you is you have to spend a tremendous amount of money to reach a level to get those gifts and you have to maintain that level every six months so if you reach President level after six months, you will drop down to the beginner level you’ll have to spend more money to reach that presidents level again. it’s the stick in the carrot effect if you don’t maintain a level, you won’t get offers for concerts, VIP parking, and the other crumbs that they throw you. Also, using your players card gives The casino ability to control when you win. They will tell you it’s random it’s not when you have dumped a huge amount of money into A slot machine that Card will tell them they need to give you a little bit back so if you spend $20,000 in a month you might hit a jackpot for $1200. another trend that you see here is the same people are winning over and over again they’re usually from the high limit and they have executive level cards Proof that they do control your wins.
I moved a number of years ago and the worst thing was giving up my wine club membership at Runquist. The wines and customer service are world class. You just can't go wrong here. I wish shipping was affordable to Alaska

Our wine pouring guy (Rocco) was terribly rude. Had a super negative attitude and probably should consider another job. Wines were just ok! Definitely nothing exciting. The Sangiovese was actually good but with the sourness of Rocco, it was hard to fully enjoy. If you do pay them a visit, definitely sit outside to avoid the bitterness of Rocco.

We belong to the wine club here. Jeff is somewhat unique in that he doesn't have any vineyards. He buys his grapes from select vineyards in the area and produces what we think is excellent wine. We visited the tasting room during their annual sale to take advantage of better pricing on larger quantities of wine. The staff is always cordial and it is generally a fun time. Unfortunately, I had to stop at a couple of tastings because I needed to drive home.

Update....Been back for a couple of weeks now. We got the case of wine we purchased and opened up a Reserve Petite Syrah. Amazing! Then we opened a Tanat a few days later. Thats when we realized we should have bought more of both! We will be getting more soon!

The Folsom Prison Museum is a small museum and gift shop located in an old home that houses various artifacts related to prison life, including Johnny Cash memorabilia. Despite its size, the museum offers plenty of valuable information and stories about the history of the prison. The on-site docent has many years of experience working within the institution and provides intriguing insights into life inside Folsom Prison. Visitors can park outside the gate but should be prepared for close proximity to guards and visitors entering for visits.

A museum that tells the history of Folsom Prison. It's smaller than I thought, but it's right next to the entrance to the real prison, so I was very excited to go through the security gate.It was closed for a while due to the coronavirus pandemic, but I'm glad it's reopened.Admission is reasonably priced at $2.There was no tour guide, but if you had an explanation, you would have learned a lot more history.I saw California Gold on the video, so I sat in a chair and watched it from beginning to end.It was on TV a long time ago, and maybe it's still being rebroadcast. It was an old program, but not the current one. It was very useful for learning about history. You can walk up to the STOP 🛑 sign that says No Visitors Beyond This Point. There is also a souvenir shop, and all credit cards are accepted.Everyone, please come and visit. I was excited.

This is a must see when you are a Johnny Cash fan, even though the museum is temporarily closed. The guard let us take some pictures from the house and the gate! That was so nice of him.
Unfortunately the one person who ran the museum has died recently. So sad, we hope you will find a successor to continue the museum!

To be honest, the overall impression about this spot is so-so cause the admission is $2 also they don’t accept cards payments for minimum transactions under $5, which sounds like everyone must buy something if they don’t have cash. This is not cool to the customers.

Lots of great info available in all types of sources. The whole thing takes maybe 2 hours.

Small museum but packed with historic artifacts, photos and memorabilia. Unfortunately they’ve cut back the hours of operation so Saturday is the only day to visit.
Yeahoo Whoyah — Google review
Unlike me, but I didn't take one photo. I believe that anyone that visits here with just a simple $2 entry fee per person will find that it has so much and is actually quite large.
I believe children as young as 5 years old and anyone up to 100 years old or beyond would find this quite interesting.
I would say the amount of time that you would spend here could be about 45 minutes to an hour. If you really start digging into the hidden treasures and reading the stories you can spend easily a couple of hours.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting here. Not only for the museum. Put this to get a taste of what the prison is like since it's on the same grounds as the actual prison.
Todd Billingsley — Google review
We are so happy we went here. It's a little off the beaten path and we were skeptical in taking the time to go, but well worth it. The guy running the gift shop was extremely nice and even though it's small the museum is worth doing. You even park right outside the gate so it's a little weird being that close to guards and people going inside for visits. Lots of Johnny cash memorabilia too.

Dont drink that dirty water. Fascinating historic stop. It's sobering why it was built and still is in use. I love the museum sharing actuall history of the prison and the work and engineering the prisoners put into the construction and maintenance of the facilities. Guards were very accomadating.
Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary is a charming animal sanctuary that offers an educational experience. The facility houses a diverse range of animals, including monkeys and tigers, providing them with shelter and care. Peacocks and turkeys roam freely, while deer and farm animals have ample space to move about in the open area. Visitors can observe many bird species as they explore the grounds. Macaques are among the most endearing creatures here, forming close bonds with one another.
In a world post Tiger King, the fact that this is an animal sanctuary and not just a zoo made me feel better about spending money here. It was a great collection of animals, I loved the bobcats, and the albino peacock, and the fact that they have bee hives. They also have a big play park for the kiddos. My only regret was not catching the adorable train they have, or checking out the Johnny Cash Trail that runs along behind the zoo. All in all it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Only $7 p/p to get in. A good starter local zoo for young children. Zoo is behind the library. Upon exit, there is a playground for the children to play at. Along with a hike trail with a beautiful bridge.

Lovely place! you can really see how much all of these rescued animals are cared for! There are peacocks and turkeys that roam freely, and a very large open area for deer and farm animals. I went on a cold day so there wasn't a ton of activity, but still super fun to see so many birds!! I really loved the macaques, they were very clearly best friends and never left each others side! The cougars were running around their ramps, it was a bit intimidating to see such a huge animal running so fast above me. I cant wait to come back on a warmer day to see how all the animals behaviors change! It takes maybe an hour and a half to walk around the whole place.

My wife and I took our daughters and in-laws here after Thanksgiving as a way to get out of the house. This place was such a pleasant escape for the day! The staff was welcoming, getting here and parking was simple, and the price was more than worth it. All of the animals were out and about in their respective enclosures, and our daughters had a blast looking for them and learning their names. Tons of fun photo opportunities and fun facts. We will absolutely be coming back for the Christmas light events!
Update: we came back for the Holiday Lights event, and it was amazing! A bit crowded, but really well done and a lot of fun to enjoy with the family!

Very small zoo. It only costs $7 to get in. You can walk the whole thing and see all the animals in under an hour.
There’s wild peacocks everywhere which was really cool. The enclosures are grossly small for a lot of the animals though, that was sad to see.
Samantha Holdaway — Google review
This is a great little zoo. There were monkeys, bears, large safari cats, birds, and much, much more. Plus, outside the zoo is a small train that drives around parts of the zoo for a really small cost, I think $3.

Amazing. I have been going here for 30 years and it has expanded a bit. They even have tables for a picnic and an exit right out to the park. Highly recommend.
Joshua Vaughn — Google review
This place was super cute and definitely did not expect it to be as big as it was. Only downside is it can definitely get crowded, the walkways are very small and most people have strollers with their children so it’s hard to squeeze by each other. But way more animals than we had expected, quite the experience especially for little kids and nice to have nearby. There is also a little park outside with play structures and the train was a nice little addition as well. We definitely had some fun here.
Alise Lankin — Google review
We love this little zoo/ sanctuary. They have both bears and mountain lions, plus farm animals, eagles, wolf hybrids, wild cats, and more. They have a lot of educational materials, and teach about wildlife conservation, which is great. The enclosures allow for close-up viewing. We like to go in the fall/ winter/ early spring, when it's not so hot, and the days/ hours are limited- be sure to check if they are open before you go! Also, the train, gift shop, and cafe were all closed when we visited last Sunday, which was disappointing.

Came here for the first time today, my daughter loved it! She's 2.5 years, some reviews say it's very small but we found it to be perfect for her! She loved it, she enjoyed seeing all the animals, and walking around. The park outside is also great, she really enjoyed that after seeing all the animals; we highly recommend checking this place out if you have small children.

We love this little zoo! The tickets are a great price. All the animals are pretty cool to see.
And it's not crowded.

I have been coming here since I was a kid. I absolutely love this place! I am so thankful that these animals have a place to go if they can't be in their own habitat due to injury or being housed illegally an they can't be released to the wild.
Side note if it is a super hot day, the animals will be "hiding" they are trying their best to stay cool. Totally don't blame them. So it's best to plan a hot day trip first thing in the morning if you wish to see the most animals.
There is the little snack shack right outside the park with proceeds going to help the park/animals. An you can go to the playground or kids train (costs extra) when it's running.
During the holidays they do a beautiful festival of lights in the park! They decorate & you can come in at night, it's so pretty & fun to do with the whole family. Definitely recommend coming here, love helping support the work they do.

Ok. I hate to say this but... I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love the fact that I have a place to go anytime I want to go somewhere. There are great things happening here. From poker tournaments to concerts to small gatherings of people for an evening of friends music and food to wandering amongst the multitude of machinery that casinos are known for. The place is well lit which is unusual in a casino yet it is very welcoming. The servers are very nice and will bring you a choice of beverages freshly prepared and free. No alcohol is served on the gaming floor which is nice, I think. There is a lounge upstairs called the Lone Wolf which is a nice addition to the place. I like the clean well lit inviting feeling I get walking into the place. I feel welcome, where I have been to a few casinos where it feels like that are watching you to make sure you ain't a dirty rat or whatever the Goodfellas would call someone they thought was there to clean them out.
The hate part comes from.. yup , you guessed it... Losing. I hate losing my money. But to be fair, it isn't from the machines not paying off, because they do. I just can't walk away from having so much fun. But if you look at it from an entertainment approach. A night out at a movie $40 with dinner $100 add gas in and we are now over $200. I can take my friend and go to the Jackson Rancheria with the same $200 and have a great meal at Margaret's Cafe or one of the many other eateries offered there and still have over $160 to go try my luck on the floor.
So take your time while you are there and have a blast. Who knows, you may be the next big winner. And don't call the gambler's hotline and tell them your problem is you aren't winning. They'll hang up on you

These people who post negative reviews because they 'lost' are pathetic. It's gambling so get over yourself. I been to most Indian casinos in Bay Area and others locally and love this place. My wife and I went here over the Holidays and it was decorated beautifully. We felt like we were in Vegas. We stayed only about 3hrs and we both won playing slots. I normally play single deck by but decided to play slots next to wife and we did well. We didn't win huge jackpots but left with more than we came with.
Heading there in Feb and looking forward to it.
The premises are great and you won't be disappointed.

Booked a room online two days in advance. Fairly simple and straight forward. $199 for a deluxe king room. About mid level for the hotel from what I understand. Staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. If you want bell service, that is not available anymore but you can get a cart that can haul your stuff. Rooms were clean and big. My only "gripe" really, and I know this is kinda silly, but the TV in the deluxe king was rather small for how far away the bed is. The picture next to the TV was way bigger than the TV and actually what size the TV should've been. I know this is a little picky but for $200 a night, seemed a little expensive for what you got. Especially if you just cane to stay at the casino. Overall very nice but not sure the $200 a night was worth it again.

To be honest, the slot machines at Jackson Casino are quite exciting and offer ample opportunities to win. We've had positive experiences with them. However, the hotel rooms could use some modernization to create a more sophisticated atmosphere. Upon entering, it feels like a step back in time to the '90s. They should consider remodeling or upgrading the furniture and fixture to add a touch of style. Besides that, it's generally a good experience.

One of the sorriest casinos I have ever been to. If I could give it zero stars I would. How can you be at a casino and no one is winning anything? How can you spend $80 on a machine to hit the bonus only to win 18 cents? I went there 3 years ago with the same results. This place is now on my never to visit casino again. The worst experience EVER at a casino. 😡

Never have I been so disrespected in a casino. Everything from the dream catchers club to the ladies giving out drinks. I’m constantly ignored by everyone when seeking out service or have any questions. The players club constantly changes there answers when asked questions about the promos and comps. I have upgraded my card a tier and my promos were lowered. They speak to me as if I were a lower life form. There’s lots of drug addicts walking around always asking for money. I’ve had money stolen from my slot machine only to be told there’s nothing that can be done. Horrible experience and horrible customer service.

The fact that I never win anything there is not the reason for my negative review although it doesn't help. I've had a bad experience with their customer service before after losing a decent amount of money there. Instead of the casino offering anything at all they basically told me I had to leave since I had lost all my money and had no more to gamble. And even after a lengthy email to management about the awful customer service and how terribly rude they were to a customer who spent alot of money there I never even received a response whatsoever. They have no concern at all about their customers satisfaction. I only go to Black Oak and Chicken Ranch now.

Stayed here a few times while looking to buy a house in the area. You can't get special discounts but all rooms are the same price no matter when, as far as I remember being told. We stayed in King size bed rooms which were very nice and spacious. In very good shape. Casino is nice. No alcohol in the casino or smaller restaurants, only upstairs restaurant. Smoking and nonsmoking areas in casino. Free soda and coffee in casino, I think they told me. Nice restaurant in the casino (kind of like a Marie Callendar's), snack bar, small food court-like area. Players club where you can earn points and enter contests based on how much you spend.

We had a great time meeting family and playing bingo. Mom even won on the casino machine too... she over 3x her money.
I personally don't really like smoking and it's allowed inside.
Unfortunately we were not able to go due to higher than normal winds. I have to commend Sky Drifters though. They could have forced it, and it probably wouldn’t have been a great experience, but they did not. Will try again if I am back in the area.

I booked a flight for me and my beautiful wife who always loves doing things more on the “extreme” side and has never had a fear of heights. Since my wife has had this on her list of things she’s always wanted to do, I figured I would step out of my comfort zone and surprise her with a flight she probably thought she’d never be taking with me. I’ve got to say, for someone who has had an extreme fear of heights, I would do it all over - again and again!
The Sky Drifters crew went above and beyond to make our time with them was one of the most safe, memorable, exciting, and comfortable experiences.
The minute we arrived, we were cheerfully greeted by Erin (Tim - the Pilot’s wife), she took the time to explain the entire process with us and volunteered to act as our personal photographer the entire trip!
Tim is an awesome pilot, who’s very knowledgeable, professional yet funny, and will treat you like family from the minute you arrive. From beginning-to-end he made every effort to ensure that we would get the most out of our time with them.
I couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience! We will definitely be going back and flying with them in the future. Hats off to the ground crew, who were fast, professional, and efficient. Overall, you can’t go wrong with choosing Sky Drifters! Don’t let your fear of heights get in the way of you missing out on such an amazingly unique experience!

First time in a hot air balloon! My best friend and I had a great time and can't say enough on how professional Pilot Tim and Erin are. They help you let go of any nervous feelings even before take off. The flight, the views, the champagne (after) truly made for a great experience! I highly recommend taking a ride with Pilot Tim, and Erin of Sky Drifters!

Definitely recommend!! The team was great! The pilot was very knowledgeable and experienced and clearly enjoys flying the balloon. His wife was a great photographer and took such fun pictures of us all! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and it was a hit!
At the end they served champagne. We don’t drink alcohol, but they even had sparkling cider for us. Great place to go for a fun and “different” sort of experience.

I didn't have an experience with this company because the trip was canceled before I could experience anything. I will say though, it's not something you can plan for, at least not with this vendor because even if YOU think the weather is cooperative, the Ballon pilot can say otherwise and then your left high and dry! But you only pay if you fly so you won't lose money, just the experience. I planned it as a birthday surprise, so that was ruined. I called the vendor and the person text me back said "I can't control the wind...!" SO it didn't happen and apparently there were 6 other people that day that didn't get to go. Maybe I'll try again but for sure it won't be a surprise situation cause it's heart breaking when a plan like this doesn't come together.

We had an amazing time filled with kindness and fun. I proposed in the air and my fiance thought it was the most epic romantic experience.
Tim and his wife went above and beyond to make our trip as special as possible. And ending it with a very cool story and champagne toast. Sky Difters is a great company!!!!!

We had a wonderful time on a SkyDrifters hot air balloon ride on a beautiful Wednesday morning. My friend and I were joined by a man from Sonora and a couple from Stockton. Pilot, Tim, and his wife, Erin, were also in the basket. Erin took pictures and downloaded them to us and we took lots of photos ourselves as well. We landed in a “new” construction neighborhood just north of Grant Line Road, slightly within Mather Air Field air space (???). Pilot, Tim, had to communicate with them on the radio. It was clear that he is a safe and experienced pilot and I would recommend his company to others who are looking for this sort of experience.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our flight with Tim and his crew! From the discussions on safety, to the in-flight views, to the gentle landing, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Sky Drifters Hot Air Ballooning!

What an AMAZING experience!!! I was so nervous about being in a hot air balloon and I can not say more how great it was! Tim and his wife were the perfect people to fly with. Both were so knowledgeable, Tim was answering questions we didn’t even think to ask or wonder about and his wife was FABULOUS and took every kind of picture possible. She was so sweet!
I never once felt unsafe. From beginning to end, the team was a total well oiled machine. It was very clear that Tim knew what he was doing and was so passionate about it!
We ended the flight in a gorgeous field, with a little history, some amazing stories and the Balloonists Prayer. We were so sad to have the experience end, Tim and his wife were incredible, personable and we felt like we’d known them for years. Thank you SO much Sky Drifters!! I’d spend every weekend this way if I could, GO GO GO!

We will never forget this experience, and cherish the wonderful care, time, and picture given us by everyone, especially the hostess, Erin! I recommend you ride with this company!!

Stunning, beautiful, and the pilot is fun to be around. I called them very last minute with a request for the next day and they made it happen. I proposed to my girlfriend. The pilot helped plan and facilitate making sure she had no idea. Romantic views, wonderful experience. Being a pilot of a fixed wing aircraft... I could tell that this pilot not only was extremely knowledgeable, but was passionate about what he does. Thank you for the amazing experience!
I can't say enough good things about this landmark in our backyard. The tour is amazing, it's a step back in time, the docents are wonderful and provide so much information. I was very pleased to see the younger docents giving tours, it's gives me hope that places like this will endure. I encourage you to visit and/or donate to it's upkeep.

Great place - worthy of support. Please help support this important part of California's history. Tours are available sometimes and they also hold regular events. The people behind this organization are very committed and put a lot of effort to ensuring this landmark is saved. If you like visiting off-the-wall and historic places in California, you'll need to see the Preston Castle. It's important we don't lose these places.

I absolutely lived it! Great haunted house attraction worth the while. It was a good length as they take you all the way to the third floor. I thought it was going to be more of a historical haunted tour, but it was not. I still gad a lot of fun, though. Just don't take your kids if they get easily scared or don't like the dark, or creepy things. My 12 yr old came out crying, and we had to carry my 5-year-old n have his eyes covered most of the time.

Went for the haunted tour and it was a lot of fun no cameras or picture allowed inside during the haunt house staff and docents where all very friendly and beyond helpful. The docent gave us a lot information for guided tours can't wait for the next tour date to open up again to setup a tour. Definitely a multi visit place

For a Friday it was busy, they had shuttle buses coming around to pick up people and dropping them off where the line starts. The walk isn't too far either. On our way back to our car We definitely walked back and got to see the abandoned houses. Now for the experience it was good, there were actors everywhere and at every corner. I think it would've been even more scarier if the kids dressed in orange like in the "Apparition" movie. Once it was over we got out through the entrance of the building which led to the merch stand, they also had food, drinks, and bathrooms. The sheriff and fire department where there too, so definitely it was safe. If you can't go up stairs then I don't recommend it to you. Other than that I definitely have to come back during daylight and get a tour of the place.

Really beautiful place with a fascinating history. The tour of the building was really interesting and the docents stationed throughout were so nice and informative. What the foundation has done to try and preserve and restore this building is quite impressive.
Very informative! There's a lot of neat things to see such as the jail and the court room and all of the items displayed. They have a lot of old pictures that are interesting to look at as well! The gift shop isn't too pricey and have some neat books about the area. It's a self guided tour and the museum is actually bigger than it looks from the street! Entry was only $6 for two adults.

It's an amazing museum,! We took our grandson and he says he had a great time, as did we all. So much to see & learn , the receptionist was delightful !! It's truly a pleasure to visit. I encourage others to visit. Also they give a out free pass to the red Barn museum, so you can visit 2 in one day. It cost us 6$ to visit two museums. It was a great way to have fun and stay out of the rain .

Visited a few months ago and had an amazing time. The gal working the desk at the front was extremely helpful and kind! Great Motherlode history. From MiWok artifacts & stories to blood splattered legal books & the prison which held the notorious Black Bart .... this gem of a museum has it all!
Mark Adams — Google review
The Calaveras County Historical Society is housed in the Old Calaveras County Courthouse. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
The old courthouse building was erected in 1867 and was in use until 1966, when a new Government Center was erected on the east edge of town.
Bricks were made locally, as was the lime for mortar. Typical of the period and region, the brick building had iron doors and shutters on all exterior openings, affording protection against fire, vandalism and burglary. The NRHP nomination does not mention an architectural style, but to my eye, the building appears to be influenced by the Richardsonian Romanesque style.
The old building contained the jail, court room and sheriff's office. Executions were held in the jail yard, the last on August 31st, 1888.
Charles Bolton, the well known Black Bart, stage coach highwayman, was held here during his trial. He was convicted and sent to San Quentin for six years; served 4 years, 2 months, then paroled.
The California State Railroad Museum is a must-see museum in Old Sacramento that features 21 restored locomotives on display. The museum also has exhibits on railroad history, railroad workers, and the diversity of people who work on railroads. The round trip train ride takes visitors along the photogenic Sacramento River and is pulled by either a steam or diesel locomotive.
Museum was absolutely awesome if you have any interest in history, locomotives or transportation. Absolute love scale model trains, transformational (although mostly automobiles) but still found this museum to be a perfect fit. Also caught a docent led tour which explained some of the important pieces. A particular highlight is they have a railroad stake made with pure gold in the display case. Also got to step inside of one of the steam powered trains another docent explained the controls and history. One more docent led exhibit was the mail sorting train cart and it was awesome to see how mail got efficiently transported throughout the country.

Went here 10/22 with my family. Everyone really enjoyed seeing the trains. We went early on a Saturday morning and had a great time. The docents really make the exhibits come alive as they tell the stories of the era. They have a bunch of exhibits telling the stories of the immigrant workers. There are train rides during the day and various events. Upstairs they have a number of hands on exhibits as well as play area for toddlers with train themes. They also have an extensive collection of model trains which was almost as interesting as the real trains. They are remodeling part of the museum when we visited but it didn’t get in our way.

It was the most beautiful concert I have ever been to in person with live instruments. The candles definitely set the mood although they weren’t real candles. It was definitely better to have fake ones that last at all night with no heat in the room since it was already hot in Sacramento, the musicians were phenomenal. The music performed was very exceptional and delightful. I had the best time ever definitely worth the 2 Hour Drive

What a wonderful place to be! My son, daughter and husband LOVE trains so this is always as easy stop when we are in Sacramento! I would definitely give 3-4 hrs to explore and have fun! If you can stay for longer there is plenty to see and do in and around the museum. On top of seeing full size train engines there is a lot of history, displays and trains you can actually get inside and walk around. One even moves said your currently out on the rails. Don’t miss the upstairs! A cute little play area for younger kids, an interactive miniature train village and some STEM play as well. You can also arrange to go on ride as they have a train that goes a couple times a day. It goes down a couple miles then comes right back. I highly recommend stopping by! The gift shop is alot a favorite of ours!

This is a great and well-maintained museum of railroad history in Sacramento, California. We visited on a weekday morning, and there was no rush. Different tickets are available for adults and children. This museum appeals to people of all ages. On Level 1, there is an extensive display of locomotives and carriages from the transcontinental railroad era, providing a fascinating glimpse into railway history. The top floor (Level 3) houses an amazing collection of toy trains, with several of them operational. Additionally, there is a designated train play area for kids. The docents are welcoming and knowledgeable, offering a wealth of stories and information.
While excursion train rides are available, it's important to note that these are separate from the museum entrance. Be sure to check out the gift shop, which offers a wide range of collections including toy trains, keychains, books, coins, caps, cups, and more. I highly recommend visiting this museum; it's a worthwhile experience for everyone.

This is a fantastic train museum exhibit wise. Many train museums have a lot of rolling stock including a lot outdoors where as the amount of rolling stock here is more limited but the restoration quality on most of the cars and locomotives is excellent. The layout and displays are in depth and cover the important rail history of California in particular but also generally. In addition to the ground floor displays including a handful of cars you can go through there is an extensive display of model railroads on the third floor. A small children's play area and a 5 car train on tracks on that same level as well. For the price a really great value and place you can spend a few hours with young and old a like.

Everyone should take a railroad ride, it doesn't cost much. The trip is short but fun, especially when the train changes tracks on the turntable. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy-go-lucky. I would recommend this excursion to everyone. This was my first ride. It was exciting to discover how it works. Bring the kids. They will truly love it.

Such a great day! We got there when it opened, best because way less people. The kids had so much fun with them whole place. Loved the chalk, loved the toy trains, loved the dining car. My ten year old son loved asking all the questions and the attendants were so helpful and sweet. Great place to take kids. There is something amazing about kids just wanting to learn about the mechanics without having to prompt them. Trains are awesome! I've been before so today I just followed so the kids around and let them explore. Magical day!

I really like this museum and it's a big deal if you like railroad history. I first came here five years ago and have returned. I rode the train all the way from Detroit to visit it and it's worth the trip. They have equipment you won't see anywhere else. It's known around the world by railfans and it is easy to see why.

The museum is a great Wealth of information about Railroads, the history and very interesting artifacts. Ground floor has covered many historical events and trains while top floors has great toy trains collection etc and some fun play areas. We especially liked the experience of walking through those train compartments that have the effects to mimic the reality. There were employees dressed as the train staff in the exhibits. They were very patient and answered many questions from children. This visit should be included in field trips if school children. The gift shop is cute but the books were a bit expensive. There’s no food in the museum. The paid parking garage in front of the museum was very good.

This museum is one of the finest in the country. There are certainly larger railroad museums. But this one displays it's artifacts in a stunning and accessible way. They are objective and humane about the terrible experience of the Chinese immigrants who built the railroad across the Sierras.
I highly recommend this museum for rail fans and California history buffs alike.

This place is an absolute gem! Don't let the unassuming entrance nor the vaguely disinterested ticket sales clerks fool you, this museum is absolutely amazing! Anyone would enjoy this place, regardless of their affinity for trains! I was truly impressed with every single exhibit. But, my favorite was the train we were able to walk through that had the sound, look, and feel of a train in actual motion. This place is astounding!

This is not only possibly the best railway museum in the world but also one of the best I've been to (maybe because I love old trains :). All possible trains, historical moments related to railways, especially in America, are represented. Everything is very nicely made and extremely interesting. It requires a lot of time to go around slowly, without rushing.
Borislav Bajkic — Google review
Lots of locomotives and cars, some of which you can enter, along with static exhibits devoted to the history of railroads and railroad people. It looked as though the kids in attendance were enjoying themselves, but there definitely are exhibits that older attendees will appreciate more.
The Museum not only celebrates trains as amazing machines, but also reminds us of the importance of railroads in our history and culture.
It is a member of ROAM, which means that you may be able to obtain free admission if you are a member of a museum that also is part of the ROAM network.

First time I go to a railroad museum, but he exceeded all my expectations. If you like learning about stuff or like trains, this is definitely a must stop to do. They have great history from the first train that existed in the United States now to the electric ones. You also learn how the Cole miners used to transport the Cole back in the day.

WOW! So much to see - definitely give yourself at least 2 hours (3+ if you want to read everything). Well worth the $12/adult we spent - I would have paid twice as much if not more. Incredible artistry and museum flow. One of the best museums I've ever seen. There are a few different floors (there is an elevator), one of which is all about toy trains. Gift shop had some really cool stuff as well. Afterward, give yourself plenty of time to explore the area - there's so much to do!

Loved this place. Everything is indoors now (last time I went was a few decades ago). The museum is very clean, and it has multiple restrooms inside the show room. There are multiple floors, and there are wheelchair lifts and elevators, but walking through the train cars is a tight squeeze. They have a free scavenger hunt for a little prize. There is a small gift shop with lots of train memorabilia. Parking is paid street or garage, and it's only a short (underground) walk from DoCo.

Went on a rainy week day so not crowded at all! Always so exciting to see old trains, they look classy and elegant. I particularly enjoyed the ones that's open for entering, not something you can do everyday unless you have a ticket, really gives you a brand new immersive lesson than just signs or videos alone. Although most of the mannequins other than the Chinese section were white dudes and I got spooked by a staff who sat in the car waiting to explain to guests. So beware of white dudes here, they could be real. They also offer the Polar Express train ride around Christmas time which we missed this time. If you're interested get the tickets as soon as you can!

This museum is amazing and very interesting and informative about both the good and the terrible in our history of the railroad tracks built across our country and the trains made that changed how people and goods could travel. The museum is very honest about everything that happened to the workers of all cultures, and gives credit to those who were unrecognized, dismissed, and who didn't survive in that era of such hard labor. I feel proud of all the women and those from other countries that showed their strength and grit and worked just as hard as the men leading them, and continued that work when American men went to war. You can listen to the stories and get on the trains in the museum and witness the beautiful and the tough that happened. Docents are throughout who add to the good and the bad stories. I highly recommend this museum. There are also kids' play areas and many small but elaborate train sets for kids and grownups to enjoy viewing, and some to purchase in the gift shop. I highly recommend spending hours at the museum, plus it's located in a great part of old downtown Sacramento with boardwalks, restaurants, music, and shops for taffy, candy, drinks, and much more.

The California State Capitol Museum is a long-standing museum that documents the history of California in exhibits, artifacts, and more. The grounds of the Capitol are considered to be one of the most beautiful state capitol grounds in the country.
Clean and beautiful. I didn't go inside as I thought I've been to the one in WA DC, so let's save time for something else. However, I was awestruck by the lush green and delightfully fragrant orange trees laden with ripe fruits. They line the pathways and stand tall against the tall palms and buildings in the background. They smell lovely. The rose garden is also breathtaking, there are many varieties. Some people were there to take wedding pictures and Instagram videos, because it's so warm, beautiful and pleasant here. There are hummingbirds hovering above the salvia bushes also. Love this lovely place!

Bad impression at first: the museum is closed. All of it. The rooms, the tours, the store - shut down. This is my third capital building and the least inviting. Every door was closed. If it wasn't for the open session and beautiful architecture, I would have been sorely disappointed. I was able to sit upstairs and listen in on the session which was a treat. I felt a measure of restored faith in humanity. They questioned finance on expenditures and voiced their concerns regarding project deadlines. All without trying to win a vote or hidden agenda. I'm not even a resident in this state, but to hear these politicians speaking up on behalf of the citizens was a breath of fresh air. If you have an hour, take the time and listen in.
Side note: they have wall display cases for each county. Some are elaborate, some a simple and some are a disaster. It's the capital building - do better.

Title: A Historic Gem in Sacramento
The California State Capitol in Sacramento is an absolute must-visit for anyone passing through or residing in the area. As a history enthusiast, I found this landmark to be a treasure trove of political and architectural significance.
The majestic architecture of the Capitol building itself is enough to capture your attention from afar. Upon entering, you're greeted with beautifully maintained grounds and gardens, providing a serene atmosphere amidst the bustling city.
Inside, the rich history of California unfolds through informative exhibits and guided tours. From the legislative chambers to the governor's office, every corner echoes with the stories of past decisions that shaped the state's destiny.
The highlight of my visit was witnessing democracy in action as I observed a legislative session. It's a humbling experience to see the intricate workings of our government firsthand.
Whether you're a history buff, a political aficionado, or simply seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of Sacramento, the California State Capitol delivers an unforgettable experience. Don't miss the chance to immerse yourself in the legacy of this iconic institution.

It's a state capital, full of history, its free. My children love to run around here, my older children and myself got an opportunity to watch the State Assembly in session, that was pretty amazing to see how it all worked. Video should make you giggle but I was serious. I had a great tour of the capital. Security was a breeze. There are some reconstruction happening so beware if that. It was wonderful to see the old offices but I was most impressed with the chambers. I didn’t get to see any actual legislative personnel but I got inspired. You can find paintings of all the known governors of California. Never been a black one, apparently. You’ll love the architecture and strong feel to the building. It’s like a bunker. There’s security and guides all over so you won’t get totally lost. The cafe was closed when I visited. I did get to visit the store. I decided to grab a tie.

We were visiting Sacramento and decided to check out the California State Capitol. It was built in a Neoclassical style by prominent architect Reuben S. Clark in 1874. At one corner there is a Capital Mall and on another side, there is Capitol Park. The Capitol Museum is on the grounds of the Capitol. It is free to enter on weekdays.
We couldn't enter the museum because it was a weekend, so we roamed around the park. Remember to check out the website before visiting about closures and reservations.
Old Sacramento is a historic area situated along the riverfront, featuring buildings that date back to the Gold Rush era, as well as cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages. The region hosts several museums such as the Sacramento History Museum and state Railroad Museum, which provides train rides for tourists. This district also offers souvenir shops where you can buy T-shirts or antiques. Moreover, there are various upscale restaurants and bars that attract college students.
The Crocker Art Museum is a world-renowned museum with a wide range of exhibits, including paintings, sculptures, and drawings from around the world. It's also home to one of the best collections of California art in the country. The first floor of the building has been designated as an education center with classrooms, library space, and exhibition area perfect for student and community exhibitions.
COVID precautions require purchasing timed tickets. Sold at 15 minute entry intervals, I purchased mine right before I left my house. Beautiful expansion building is attached to the original Crocker mansion. Exhibits were well laid out and easy to navigate. Loved the bright open areas and the eclectic mix of Mexican, African and Asian art. Spent 3 hours here and easily could have made it a full day to take it all in. Gift shop is small but reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!

This museum is GORGEOUS. The fashion, the paintings, the ceramics, the art pieces... All absolutely amazing. The museum is very neat, open and quiet. There's staff nearby in every section. Bathrooms are pristine. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting. Overall, a great experience! Side note: I'd recommend you set aside 2 hours to see the whole place.

Beautiful location to explore. Combines modern with Victorian, so easy to get lost in the art. It's a place I could stay for hours, lighting was never too harsh but never so dark that I couldn't see the art. Great collections with beautiful sections. Easily will go more than once.

Was so surprised at how great this not-so-little museum is! We expected to be in and out in less than 2 hours, but spent 3 and still didn’t see everything.
I particularly enjoyed the explanations accompanying each work — by far the best I’ve seen (and I’m a pretty frequent museum-goer), and I found that taking the time to read the blurbs really enhanced my understanding of the work. From explanations about the artists’ lives and influences, historical and political implications, and discussions of the materials used, these write-ups also included tips of what to look for — some of which I otherwise would have missed.
This is a great way to spend an afternoon — whether you’re a visitor to Sacramento, or a resident who just hasn’t visited the Crocker yet!

Our family had a very relaxing, and beautiful experience here. The museum is as beautiful, and clean as it was when i visited as a child. There is so much beautiful art and architecture to look at. We came for a classical concert on a Sunday. Highly recommend if you are in Sacramento.

Went for Baby Loves Art; My 8 month old really enjoyed it as did we. They assign a gallery and have a play area set up within the gallery as well - super thoughtful. Afterwards, we explored other exhibits before heading out.

A lot of fine art and a three hour walk within the building and I feel like we still didn’t get to look at everything. There’s so much to see so many beautiful paintings, historical artifacts, and sculptures. It’s a nice place for a family get together to go really see some history, there was a story about a Native American woman whose son was taken from her and placed in a Catholic church school It really caught my attention.

As museums go, I would rate Crocker among the top. The Candy Store Gallery is a must see and during our trip, we spent 4+ hours in the gallery and 60% of that was in the Candy Store Gallery.
The docents reach out to engage and are so knowledgeable - the stories captivate and get you to appreciate what is in front of you.
A must stop for any museum lover visiting Sacramento.

Visited for free as part of the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. An absolutely beautiful massive collection of art. It can be a bit confusing to navigate all the different rooms spread across multiple levels but you almost want to get lost in the variety. So many different styles, artists, mediums. My favorite are the glass art pieces. Extremely beautiful. Plentiful parking when we visited as well and inexpensive street parking nearby.

I've lived in Sacramento my whole life and somehow had never been to the Crocker Art Museum. I have walked and driven past it numerous times and have always wondered if it was worth a visit and I finally know that the answer is a resounding YES! This is a wonderful place to visit solo, with friends and family, with kids, etc. There's something for everyone to see.
The docent led tours are a must for newbies and there is even a special tour for kids that is offered on the 1st and 3rd sunday of every month. My 6 and 7 year old children loved it and stayed engaged throughout the approximately 1 hour long tour through the 2nd and 3rd floors of the museum. The docent was very knowledgeable about the exhibits and the local history and made it fun for kids and adults.
There is a large courtyard area for kids to eat and run around outside and an indoor tots area with playhouses and other montessori inspired toys. There's a small cafe inside but food and drinks must be enjoyed on the 1st floor only.
Overall this is a great place to visit to see art and learn about local history for a reasonable price.

Had a really pleasant experience visiting this place! It's got a mix of contemporary and classic artworks which is pretty cool. The architecture is a real treat too – it's like a blend of traditional and modern styles. There's a lot to see and take in. Definitely a must-visit!

Great collection of early 19th to 20th century californian paintings esp of landscapes giving us a good idea of how these places looked like in that era. The building itself has a fascinating history too. Huge collection of pottery and native baskets too.
Great museum of arts. Highly recommended.

This museum has a bit of everything: modern, classic, ancient, ceramics, sculptures, glass work, weavings and tapestries, mixed media, and so much more. It’s a great museum that spans a few buildings with tall ceilings and a quiet atmosphere.
There is paid parking across the street.

Beautiful place. I'm a member so I try to come every few months when they switch the traveling exhibits.
The children's playroom is so cute and interactive and the outside is just as beautiful as the inside.

Abby and Juan's engagement session at the Crocker Art Museum was so stunning! The iconic venue provided a unique and artistic backdrop for our photos. The museum's stunning architecture and diverse collections added a touch of elegance and sophistication to our shoot and the staff was incredibly accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout the entire process. So if you're looking for a location that combines culture, beauty, and a friendly atmosphere for your engagement session, you might want to put The Crocker Art Museum on your list! I live in Sacramento for about 12 years and this is the first time I've ever gone to the museum! I can't believe this is my first time, just now going! My wife and I are getting ready to celebrate our 9-year anniversary on the 31st. We planned a day out together to just go around Sacramento and enjoy some of the attractions and activities right here at home for the day. This was one of them. For me, I absolutely love the original museum because I enjoy historic buildings. The stairwell and the tile work, everything about it was just really amazing to me. I absolutely loved it. When we went over to the newer building where there was actually more art to be seen, that was enjoyable as well. Some of the pieces were very are inspiring. There are three that really stood out. The giant mural of the old man, the father, was really amazing. Also the AI exhibit turned out to be one of the most fun components of the museum. Stating a phrase, thought or an idea and that it coming up with a drawing that represents that was fun to see. Very interesting indeed. There is even a time that my wife was trying to push the button and I wasn't ready yet and so we kind of had a little bicker with her trying to get me to go and I wasn't ready, so I bickered back and it actually captured a little bit of our Tiff and drew a picture of a man and wife arm wrestling - lol. I thought that was actually pretty amazing. We ended up printing that one out and keeping it. Smiling the whole time. In total we spent 3 hours there. If a person doesn't engage in the AI portion and, goes through everything quickly without stopping to really take it in from time to time--I'm sure they can get through it in an hour and a half to 2 hours or so. But we took our time. I appreciate that they also recognize veterans and gave me a discount on the admission as a result. That's always a nice touch. Parking was nice and easy and the day was beautiful. As a matter of fact when we were done we just went for a little scooter ride around the area:-)
Also, the views from the upper levels of the new building are really incredible. Everything was just really well done. I didn't know if I would like it that much but I've never been and so we went. My wife went once way back in high school, she found that she enjoyed it too. She's an artist, she paints acrylic on canvas. I write music sing and dance. That's my art form. It was nice to see such a diverse collection of painted art as well as crafts. I definitely say get there late morning or early afternoon. The timing of that seems to work well. We went to a late breakfast prior, and then drove straight there. We got there around 10:50am or so, then by the time we were done at 1:50pm, we were ready for a light lunch.
Sacramento was filled with things to do right here at home. Oftentimes for anniversary celebrations, I book something out of town or some sort of a mini trip. This year we decided we wanted to stay close to home. We filled our day with breakfast, crocker Art museum, walking around downtown, riding scooters downtown, little clothes shopping, a movie, a fun hip place for dinner and dessert and then home. It was a lovely day. I think about it often. It was really just nice to be out with my wife like this. We have five kids, this felt good. Kind of like just dating again just being young and fun. I look forward to many more memories with her like this :-)
The California Agricultural Museum has recently reopened after a year of closure due to the pandemic. This vast warehouse contains over 100 old tractors on display, along with various historic farm artifacts and a play area for kids. The staff is enthusiastic about showcasing the farming equipment that helped make California the agriculture Mecca it is today. Visitors can witness the progression of farming equipment dating back to the late 1800s, all fully restored and functional.
My job takes me out with my clients 3 of 5 days a week. This was one such outting. California Agriculture Museum has loads of farming equipment from different eras of early farming here in California. This was my 1st visit here and I took loads of pictures

Very good museums with a lots of tractors and agricultural heavy equipment back in 1920s. They have a nice kid play area, scavenger games which offer stickers, exploring different areas. The most impressive thing for us to this museum is the volunteering staff who can offer free guided tour, our volunteer, named Lee was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job, who didn’t mind spending long time to talk with our kids on history of caterpillar companies and their innovation.
This museum is worth a visit if you pass Woodland on I-5 north of Sacramento.

This museum holds amazing tractors that you will not see anywhere in the world, but fails to tell a story. Just a bunch of tractors arranged by manufacturer, and some basic facts like price and horsepower and year and place of manufacture. The advertisement says interactive, but the only interactive part is a half sheet of paper with a six question scavenger hunt. Really old school style museum in serious need of updating by someone who knows how. Missed opportunities are telling the story of the gold rush, how engines work, explaining how harvesting machines work (with hands-on levers for kids), more on farm life in the home, vinaculture and fruit farming exhibits... With the truck exhibit gone, there is room to spread out and make it better. Realizing that funding can be a problem, I would suggest writing grants to farm organizations or inviting fruit and wine growers to set up exhibits to supplement the tractor line up.
Tish Evans — Google review
The exhibits are great. You can see and touch history that was integral to the development of the local area.

I liked this museum. It was interesting to see some of the old agriculture methods. I was surprised at the sizes of some of these vehicles. It was a pretty basic layout, just a lot of tractors in a few rows. It was very quiet when we were there, which I liked, only a few people were there.
This museum has a kids area, and scavenger hunt. So if you have kids, and are interested in checking this museum out, then I recommend it.
Overall, I liked this museum, I definitely learned a few things. I recommend coming here. It wasn't my favorite museum experience ever, but it was in no way a bad experience.
(Also, you are able to have a guided tour, with a docent. We didn't have the guided tour because it wasn't available at the time. If I come back here, and take the guided tour, I will update my review with that information.)

The agriculture museum is finally open after nearly a year of closure due to the pandemic. The staff inside are very excited to show visitors the farming equipment. These are the machines that made California the agriculture Mecca it is today. It is fascinating to see the progression I’ll farming equipment. The items date back to the late 1800s. All the equipment has been restored and they are functional. If you’re lucky sometimes the volunteers start up some of the old equipment. I highly recommend visiting. It’s well worth it.

Excellent wines and beautiful outdoor tasting areas. We arrived on an unexpectedly hot day (84) but stayed cool under their patio cover. Loved their bubbly and light wine flight. Open daily and very dog friendly! We will return;)

We had a wonderful visit and wine tasting at Klinker Brick Winery in early April of 2022! Their winery is in the agricultural area of Lodi: grapes, walnuts and more. Our hosts were gracious and helpful. The three of us chose to taste the three flights they offered that day. Mostly reds with a couple of sparkling, and roses. We found their wines to be enjoyably dryer than our usual selections. It provided us a palate pleasing contrast. We spent the night at the vineyard via harvest hosts. It was a beautiful sunset in the arms of the grape vines.

The tasting room is so pretty here, especially decorated for Christmas. I've tasted here before on a weekend and was blown away that there were four flights to choose from. This time there were two. The wine is reasonably priced and tastings are waived with a bottle purchase (2 bottles purchased to waive the reserve tasting). This time I headed in about an hour before closing and felt rushed by the staff despite there being several other people still tasting in the room. The patio area is beautiful and I may try again in summer.

The staff is super nice. The tasting room was great! I enjoyed the Zins but I’m not sure we would come back and visit. Although we spoke to people that really love all of the wines here, we felt it wasn’t our favorite. I think it’s a matter of taste, but worth a try as I know they work hard to produce!

We had a complete blast tasting wine with host, Brennan last Tuesday, 1-30-24. My wife's favorite was the best, most balanced semi-sweet white I've ever had called Vorganger, and mine was the Old Ghost. Of course we had to join their wine club! Thanks for a perfect time, Brennan! Klinker Brick is a great place to experience Lodi wine - my favorite wine in the world!

Nice winery tasting venue, beautiful patio so you can taste outside or inside. You get to pick a flight ranging from $10, $15, or $20 for 6 tastes. Good idea is to share different flights. The wines range from light dry Albarino to full bodied reds. We like the Old Ghost Zinfandel, Farrah Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon the best. Prices for the wines are very reasonable.
The only drawback is very little attention from the staff if you like to ask questions about the grapes and the specific wines but there are answers on the website which we accessed during the tasting. The offer deli style bites also reasonably priced.

Lodi Lake is a waterfront park that provides various outdoor activities such as swimming, boating, kayaking, and nature programs. Additionally, the park offers chartered river tours for those who want to explore the area. Visitors can bring their dogs along and enjoy playing ball or paddling together. There is a large field where dogs can run freely while visitors relax on benches in the nearby off-leash dog area. It would be convenient if there were restrooms near the dog area too.
I absolutely Lodi Lake! Kayaking up the river is my favorite! I take my dog. We paddle, we play ball, we paddle some more.
My family takes their dogs many days a week. It would be nice if there were bathrooms over by the off leash dog area, and maybe a couple benches.
We're excited that they're mowing the large field where the dogs run. It's so nice to walk out there!

Nice, relaxing place to go to. (Most times. Sometimes there is a lot of sketchy activity.) There's a really neat nature trail with plenty of wildlife to see. There are many different picnic areas with very nice views of the lake. Most of it is dog friendly, though I wish more of it was. Many of the family picnic spots are not dog friendly. Still a great walk to take and enjoy the views.

The main areas of the lake are pretty clean and kept up well.
The nature area is okay on the main paths.
There are always ducks around, and it is usually pretty easy to spot some deer in the nature trail area.
There is a boat launch in the back which i guess is good if you have a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards.
There is a bike repair station in the front, not sure how good it is, never used it.
The downsides -
All this nice looking water, and you're not allowed to use it unless it's the few hours a year that the beach area is open. Or you have a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards. Otherwise you're not allowed to swim, to cool off in the water, which is all the more frustrating if you are into cold water immersion or just want to swim in the lake area for exercise or fun. Nope the water is reserved for people who are willing or able to spend money on or are able to transport a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards.
The nature areas are hit and miss but mostly miss. Once you leave the main path. There is trash everywhere, everyone of homeless people in the back easily accessible hidden areas. Lots of empty alcohol containers. On nice days or warm days you will run into lots of drinking, and bud smoking. Not as kid friendly as it used to be.
The bathrooms are old, not well lit, and are hit and miss when it comes to cleanliness.

The staff there were friendly. After the wine tasting, we bought 2 bottles of wine, that were very well packed for us. When I just arrived home and opened the package, I found the expensive wine club exclusive Heavy Hitter Petite Sirah was not sealed. I talked to the manager the next day and he explained some wineries simply send in their wines to the visitor center with the bottles not sealed. This exposes a safety concern to us, because the content of the bottle could be easily changed. It was said there were some environmental concerns with the foil sealing. If so, there should be some sort of replacement like wax sealing. Wine sold with the bottles not even sealed in any way is not acceptable.

Good food catered by Wine and Roses restaurant/hotel next door and a good selection of wine tastings from N2, Michael Klouda etc. We enjoy the wine club here because we get 4 reds from different member wineries each quarter. Recommend visiting and tasting.

The older woman with dark hair and glasses working at the wine tasting counter was very rude to us. We were trying to figure out our shuttle pick up location. When we returned to the visitor center from the hotel staff who sent us back to her for clarification she turned to customers she was waiting on and said “Oh, they’re back” in a very snotty way even though our communication towards her had been very friendly and upbeat. She told us she couldn’t help us and we should wait outside (in the cold) even though the visitor center was empty. Then, a man in a blue vest jacket came out from the back area and said our shuttle would pick us up in front of the center and we could wait inside where it was warm. The older lady changed her demeanor at that point and echoed what he said. So rude and poor representation of the Lodi wine community. This experience was a birthday celebration and our first time visiting Lodi to spend money. Poor behavior from one human being to another. Thanks for that. Here’s a tip: treat people with dignity and respect! Stop making baseless judgements on the way people look or dress because they don’t match your IDEAL client.

This was my third time visiting the Bob Hop Theatre. It amazes me every time! The building has so much history and is gorgeous inside! Last night we were there to support David Garibaldi (we are HUGE fans) in this Painting With A Purpose Event. We didn't stay for the auction but we enjoyed his performance. We sat in the back section and saw a name plate on the arm rest that I thought was pretty cool. Next time we want to come back for the movies they play on the weekends.

I give this 4 stars although it was an outstanding experience. The only flaw was getting out, if it's a sold out show, you WILL have a difficult time getting out. The was a rush trying to get out of the door since there is only one was in and one way out, JUST FYI.

Majestic perfection visually especially inside. There s nothing built like it in today's world. I'm always mesmerized by the attention to detail in architecture and everything from rich colors floor to ceiling. It's like a European palace. Even If you didn't plan on attending an event there, it would be an unforgettable experience just going inside and taking in all the beautiful details that make up this iconic landmark. I've been there 3 or 4 times for music concerts, and each time it felt like I was part of a magical dream. The special effects consume the entire theater from floor to ceiling ...so much it's hard to take it all in. I can't say enough, but " a dreamy magical galaxy of sight and sound " is my best synopsis...always entire audiences of standing fans applauding, cheering, yet respectful of one another. The British Pink Floyd cover band featured singers and musicians so talented ...for me and my man, we will continue to come back every time the venue returns. I really can't say enough,so I hope anyone who likes Pink Floyd or similar music or just any venue featuring music or stories you appreciate can get to Bob Hope Theater in Stockton for an unforgettable day or night. There's no better venue in northern CA.
In case you need details...the bathrooms are all remodeled...roomy,clean, close to main stage area. There's a bar on ground level and upstairs...no elevatir, but handicapped are downstairs is roomy and about 12 or so rows from stage I think. I'm in a wheelchair and feel like it's perfect for comfort and practical needs...lots of parking along streets...didn't notice parking garages, sorry. Comfortable seating and temperature...polite ushers many of whom I've seen there for years,so they must be satisfied with the management I think. Love to all...Marcia in Modesto
Circular arena on the water with a modern glass facade hosting sporting events & live performances.
I have to thank the Stockton Arena for allowing the annual StocktonCon to take place in its venue. It is a great local convention and my family and friends always have a great time when we attend! I have also attended ice hockey games and it is a great place to see a game. The sky boxes are very nice too. The hotel next to the arena is a great place to grab a drink and bite to eat, and enjoy the cool lounge area down by the waterfront!

Watch our very first hockey game ever. This was a blast. The arena was a great place to visit. Very clean and well setup. Food and beverages was a bit on the expensive side. GO STOCKTON HEAT!

Nice arena. Very clean and easy parking for only $20 right across the street. Seats are very small, so we were a little crammed. Our elbows were touching. I only bought popcorn and water $7 each. Overall would go again!

The stadium is alright and decent. Nothing really special to be honest, but it’s a good place to watch Stockton Kings games. There aren’t really many venues inside the stadium plus the food here is much cheaper, which is good. The stadium is much smaller when I got through and doesn’t seem to be crowded here. Not much hype here, but it’s okay.

If you've never been to a hockey game or an avid hockey fan, I would encourage you to attend a Stockton Heat Game. This AHL team is top notch and they are currently #1 in their division and perhaps in the entire league.
There really is not a bad seat in the arena. For a great family adventure, enjoy a hockey game!

Great concert. Many concession stands open. We loved our time there. We expected homeless around the area. There were none and the waterfront was clean.

The arena is not like those big,big ones where you can't see the performers on stage. It's a long drive from San Mateo but would love to go back and see my favorite bands this summer :).

Fun for the grandsons walking around looking at the different vendor's wares and taking pictures with other characters. We went Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded. We will go again!

Great place to see a concert! Easy to get to from freeway, ample free parking within close walking distance, loved the numerous smaller concessions and restrooms with smaller quicker lines rather than waiting in loooong lines at larger venues that only have a few giant concession stands. Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks & food!

Great place for a concert, whether it's for one artist or several. Wide enough space for walking throughout the arena. Clean. Parking is clean and not hard on a car's tires or suspension.
Unfortunately, there is little to no security to ensure any valuables left inside a car is safe. So better to put items that can't be taken into the arena, in the trunk.
It's a little off the beaten path, not in the safest neighborhood, and a little hard to get out of once the event is over, but it's manageable.
Having multiple vendor booths for a artists merchandise, is easy and does not overlap with attendees standing in concession lines. A plus!
Concession only accepts credit cards, no cash.
The arena, itself is great for concerts, even the seats on the sides have a good viewing of the stage, and sitting in these seats won't even cause neck problems.
Security is pretty decent, nice, friendly. A few of the guards on the night I went, were a little rude, and invasive. Like they didn't know to keep their mouth shut or their voice down to a whisper, instead it was like they were at a boxing match cheering a boxer on, it was really disruptive.
And the people who worked the Concession Stand, they were really nice, friendly, patient and helpful.

Bert's show was hilarious as well as a guest appearance from 209's own Nate Diaz.

Really love this place both inside and outside next to the river. Attended Disney on ice, that was an amazing show

The place is HUGE!! Great acoustics! And if you wait to eat when you leave, there are food carts that have really good hot fresh dogs, sausage and grilled veggies. Cash, charge, pay pal and venmo.

Pretty nice arena. Parking was great, it wasn't sold out, but it's accessible. We watched the Stockton Kings and the kids loved it. The mascot would sign an autograph when a kid caught him alone, but it would always form a line. So he would tap his wrist like it was time to go. But, he tried. But I think he signed some after the game, also

Exceptional, quaint and intimate fine art museum! We were more than impressed with the collection at the Haggin.
We strolled and took our time in each exhibit, taking in history and seriously magnificent works of art. The Haggin is a hidden gem not to be missed!
I recommend the museum store for interesting gifts, too.
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very well done! It’s been some years since we last visited this museum & the improvements are quite impressive. The bright open interior accentuates the high ceilings, wood panel flooring, decorative moulding. The Fine Arts are beautifully showcased, telling an elegant story. The Historical Collection amazingly preserved. The Sci Fi Collection an amusing addition. Bonus: We went on “Free Saturday”, which happens once monthly.

This is a must visit if you want to see the history of Stockton. From paintings 🖼 to vintage photographs 📸 to Native Americans history. Super cheap and it will take a good amount of time to see all three levels. Check it out

No spoilers but there is a freaky trunk on the basement with a macabre story… Don't judge the museum by the outside, there is no parking lot, its surrounded by a park where many ppl go, but when I stepped in, it felt like a complete different World. A contrast of local history and old tractors with beautiful paintings and sculptures from late 1800. Downstairs the rooms you look in through a window are so incredibly well put together and your mind travels back in time for a bit. As well as amazing Native American art…Highly recommend a visit, park on the streets and walk through the park to the front door. Its great, Im telling you.

This is a world-class museum that is oddly located in Stockton California. They have an amazing collection of Leyendecker paintings. Some other fantastic artwork as well. I rank this art museum well above San Diego art museum. The staff is very friendly. Parking is on the street surrounding the park, it’s a short walk to the museum.

Great museum. I had to kill some time while my car was getting fixed and the 4 hours flew by. Great view into the history of Stockton

I joined a senior group as a caregiver on my little adventure. If you enjoy art and displays of local vintage artifacts this museum holds some information you might find interesting enough to check out. From agriculture, to Stocktons harbor along with a Native American exhibit. They even have a gift shop toward the end if your looking for a souvenir or memory to take home with you.
Elevators for the disabled and sturdy stairs for others willing to take that extra step. Restrooms inside as well as out in the park surrounding the area. Pop up shops sometimes selling snacks and refreshments. A small but fascinating place to unwind letting your mind explore the creativity and love of passionate people.

The art museum is just about the right size. The history museum is a little small. However, you can get into both for the same very low price, and they complement each other. I have been three times, and I have enjoyed the traveling exhibits each time.
