The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is an expansive museum with plenty to keep the whole family entertained. From rotating science exhibits to planetarium shows, OMSI has something for everyone. The weekends can be especially busy, but it's all worth it for the amazing exhibits.
First time to visit this museum.
My daughter liked it very much. It has many kids friendly spots for them.
Many things to learn in different topics.
They offer a real submarine tour and a planetarium theater for extra fees.
Avoid weekends for crowds.

A place to checkout while in Portland! This place is very interactive and interesting. A family-friendly place with a lot of activities and attractions for all ages. A personal favourite while visiting OMSI was the Nelson Mandela exhibit. It was well-presented and outlines his early life until post-presidency. It was a great visit!
Patrick D — Google review
Very nice museum with various activities and exhibits for families! The museum is smaller than I thought and you can go around and see everything for a day. They have a Marvel exhibit! They also have a movie theater but the movies being shown are selective and not necessarily the movies that come out from a regular theater. There are tons of activities for kids and some of them are also appropriate for adults. They also have a submarine outside the museum and the tickets for a tour are sold separately. The staff are very helpful and friendly! Overall a very good museum and weekend getaway for families!

We got there around 2pm Saturday, it was very very crowded, with a movie event going on. Paid for parking. Lots to show the kids but couldn't really do much due to others using and looking at each thing there was at each station. Tickets sold out fast for the submarine. The kids were amazed by the animal and critter exhibits, a good amount of species to see. Grabbed a coffee from the cafe wasn't too bad, the photo booth did not work. Overall we felt rushed with not many choices to do while we waited for our turn to experience anything. As it got closer to closing time we did manage to experience more. We will be going again just maybe earlier in the day and maybe a week day.

Our trip to OMSI was pretty awesome! We were sad to see that the exhibit hall wasn't open. I guess that's my bad for not looking it up. I was happy to see that all of the children interactive exhibits were open. My 6-year-old ADHD son had a blast! We spent 2 hours there and all of us felt we saw all we needed to see and had a great experience. Definitely fun for the whole family!
Jamie L — Google review
Nice museum, the staff are really customer care oriented, the exhibits were spacious and not overcrowded. Lots of learning on all levels, one area is specifically geared towards children and I can see that the people in that area enjoying themselves. The planetarium was nice and comfortable, watch the Black Holes documentary.
The submarine was great and informative, every question I had was answered with their Naval military experienced guides.
I would definitely come back for another visit.
Dwayne Benallie — Google review
Super fun place for kids! Very informational and easy to understand exhibits for children. I went here as a solo adult and honestly there wasn't a lot geared for adults unless the special exhibit is something you're interested in. There is also a planetarium that shows a few different programs. Not sure I would come back here again to be honest. It was smaller than I expected and many of the exhibits that weren't 100% kid-focused were not very detailed or extensive.
Leah Pinkowsky — Google review
OMSI has so much to offer for kids of all ages primarily under 12! The benefits definitely outweigh the disadvantages listed below.
If you go to the water play area, strollers are not allowed. Bring a towel and extra pair of clothes. Even with the waterproof aprons they provide, kids still get soaked.
The Cafe is nice and has lots of seating.
The signage is great throughout the museum.
The Planetarium is cool and they have lots of different events including a cool laser light show!
The IMAX theatre is nice for movie watching!
Lots of cool science things available - membership has perks! Plan a minimum of 4hrs if not the entire day to spend here!
Disadvantages:
- Parking Kitty app not reliable and parking lots do not feel incredibly safe or secure
- the general location around OMSI after dark is surrounded by graffiti on buildings and people living in tents

Absolutely enjoyed ourselves once again, this time got to take the niece and nephew. The 15 years of laika was absolutely amazing, I would love to go back to check this exhibit out again. The amount of interaction for the kids in the engineering station area is amazing. They had a blast. Spent about 5 hours here, and not a dull moment ever. The amount of knowledge they and we took with us is unforgettable. Best Saturday afternoon ever. Highly recommend, I plan on getting a membership, totally worth it. The gift shop is quite amazing as well. Found quite a few goodies in there as well.
Jessica Hughes — Google review
Definitely one of my favorite spots in the downtown Portland area. It's a fun and interactive museum with some good stable exhibits as well as rotating featured exhibits. Their Marvel exhibit was super exciting with a lot of cool things to see, such as props from the movies themselves. It's a great place for both locals and tourists, as well as for people of all ages to visit, though the kids can get rather annoying and in your personal space. It's an awesome place to explore with your partner for a date night. Entrance tickets are reasonably priced, though the merchandise and gift shop stuff is expectedly pricey.

This is always a great place to visit with kids especially during the rainy season.
Always something new to see and interact with.
The staff have always been nice and informative.
Much has changed since the last time I was here and some stuff is the same, however it was all new to my youngest.
The submarine tour is always fun.
Jeremy Colbert — Google review
It was very fun to go in but just I wish there was a little more to do with just the basic ticket, I feel like if I was able to go to the submarine or go outside (it was a rainy day) it would’ve been better. Overall fun and even better if you have kids
Mikey — Google review
Pretty fun exhibits. Loved the puzzles part, and sadly one of two of them had missing pieces. Googled for an answer to the rope with rings, but all good.
And the submarine tour was nice! Simple walk through but with explanations from the staff with less history.
The Orca exhibition was pretty well crafted too, and the foetal exhibits were amazing.
Jason Foo — Google review
This was our first time at OMSI, but it won't be our last. The exhibits were varied and incredibly well done. Guaranteed to provide a great experience for everyone. The facility is very clean. All staff members are very helpful and willing to answer any questions. I understand the exhibits change so I look forward to seeing what is in store for us on our next Portland trip. Highly recommend!
Janice Walters — Google review
Nice quick museum, but the main exhibit hall was closed so admission really only got access to a biology exhibit - which was neat - an industry wing almost entirely devoted to kids activities, and a fairly barebones space exhibit (planetarium shows cost extra). The submarine tour felt a tad rushed and tickets sell out quickly.
Christian Pate (trekkie1701c) — Google review
A nice rainy day activity. The submarine was the highlight for me. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.
The museum is hours of fun for children but as an adult you can breeze through in about an hour.
The museum location is beautiful along the river with the city's backdrop.
Dawn D. — Google review
I visited this museum last year to see the Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes exhibit. I am a huge comic book geek, particularly Marvel comics, so this was so much fun to walk around and look at this exhibit. The displays were great and there was a lot of information to read on about the comic book art. I would love to visit this museum again one day to see other exhibits. I highly recommend visiting here whether you are a local or a tourist.
Carina Jahn — Google review
My kids always have a great time here! Great exhibits ans activities. We can spend an hour and half just on the hands on activities alone.
Lisa Zauner — Google review
It is one the best museums in Oregon. It was fun to discover all the exhibitions and kids' playgrounds. There are some kid's puzzles that I could not solve as an adulte but I enjoyed them overall. I would love to be back soon
Danny Tram — Google review
Great museum with interesting cultural pieces, too!! Unique birth exhibit on the top floor! Lots of live animals for a limited time!!
Jenn Islam — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the Studio Ghibli film festival at OMSI. It was pretty cool seeing a large turnout to enjoy the film together and I hope OMSI continues doing things like this!
After the movie, I got to enjoy the other parts of the museum and saw a real live sloth in the exhibit.
The walking trail next to the waterfront is also wonderful and wish I could have spent more time there. It has a great view of the river and bridges.

Two thumbs up!👍👍You are going to absolutely love OMSI. Our favorite visits so far have been Marvel Superhero’s, Dinosaurs Revealed and the submarine tour❤️. Definitely worth getting a membership to save money. Or if you’re just in town for a short trip it’s worth taking your kiddos for a visit. Check the website for the latest exhibits and be prepared to go and have a great time. Helpful tips: Extra fee for parking, tickets can be purchased in advance online and membership available. They also have a Cafe, movie theater and gift shop available.

The Lan Su Chinese Garden is a tranquil botanical garden in the Old Town Chinatown of Portland, Oregon. The garden features rare plants native to China, decorative stonework and a tea shop.
We went there yesterday and we love it. Great place for tea time and relax. We ordered 2 cups of tea and enjoy our time there. When we headed out, the security guy asked us if we would need a bottle of water as it was hot yesterday (so nice of him). Recommend to spend about 1 hour - 1 hour 15 mins for a self guided tour including photography and tea time. Pay with app would work best if you need to extend the parking time. We ordered 3 cups of tea, around $6.5 each. We love the view :)

I got here for the Chinese new year and it was decorated decently. I love what they have done with just a small space, worth a ticket to go and see. I enjoyed the waterfall the most, I love them. So peaceful and calming. The tea and gift shops were neat and the the teas were tasty!
White & Gray Matters — Google review
My friend and I had a great time coming here. Very peaceful and casual. You are totally free to wander about at your leisure and take as much time as you want. It was not crowded either. Plenty of cool architecture and things to look at. Amazing bonsai trees, statues, and mostly shaded by beautiful trees. What really made this experience special was the tearoom. The tearoom is absolutely amazing, on the second floor. An amazing selection of high quality teas to choose from. You can try several, and they serve it to you with a kettle of hot water so you can re-steep your tea as many times as you like. While you enjoy nice views of the entire garden out the windows. Very relaxing, and great experience. Highly recommend!

I like what they’ve done with such a tight space!
Very peaceful and quiet inside. I loved the pond and little bridges & pavilions built over it.
The tea shop was good! I tried the mint & Tulsi herbal tea and quite liked it. The red bean mooncake was good too. Nothing to rave about, but good!
The gift shop has some interesting little souvenirs. Overall, I wished it was a bigger space - especially for that admission fee of 13 bucks.

This was a true zen experience. It doesn't draw the crowds that the Japanese garden does, which means the lines don't exists either. Purchased tickets ahead of the visit online, parked in a nearby lot and walked to the gardens. It was delightful and surprising that once inside the gardens a lot of the city noise dissipated. It was beautiful and the tea house was such a pleasant stop.
Bri — Google review
First-time visitors are in for a somewhat quick and short walk through. It's not too big good for a short visit. Easy access to walking. Limited with space for walkers or wheelchair. Just because the pathways are somewhat narrow. Would be definitely good to go first thing in the morning before it gets crowded. One-time visit.
Robert Herrera — Google review
Wonderful oasis in Old Town! It's nice to see thriving businesses and locations in the neighborhood. There's a great amount to learn visiting the garden and ultimately it's just a nice place to clear your mind. Definitely a Portland gem.
Kareem Alston-Rosales — Google review
I loved my visit here. I had concerns about going due to the location but I'm glad I went. It's a tiny paradise. They offer a tour and you can wander around at leisure. The teahouse was lovely and smelled amazing like tea and incense. I will probably buy a cup next time. The staff made us some complimentary Tangyuan...tiny dessert of glutinous rice balls filled with sesame paste in a hot sweet sauce that tasted like sweet tea. We did a fun scavenger hunt also as we walked around. I'm grateful for the Chinese community for keeping this garden and old buildings maintained to perfection for the public to enjoy.
Laura Core — Google review
This place is small and amazing. I like the atmosphere and decorations. It looks very expensive to maintain. It cost 15 dollars to get inside. It is a nice place to walk around and take photos. Sit down and enjoy some tea. I like it here more than the Japanese garden. Wished it was bigger
Johnnie Lau — Google review
They had a cool dragon dance to celebrate lunar near years! We took refuge in the tea house for warmth. Would definitely come back spring/summer - I imagine it’s even prettier then.
Trung Phan — Google review
A cute tiny garden within downtown with attention to detail about architecture & art. Has a restaurant that serves bit pricey teas and snacks. Parking is curbside.
Ram Dongre — Google review
Not a bad place to go and chill out. They had some fun activities for kids but, as someone who doesn't like being around kids, they were actually easy enough to dodge so kind of best of both there. Tea house had some good views.
Christian Pate (trekkie1701c) — Google review
Love visiting the Lan Su Chinese Garden especially around Chinese New Year. This is the Year of the Dragon (obviously). The tea house has undergone some renovations and we would have stayed if we had more time. They have a very old Poncirus citrus trifoliata, Flying Dragon Tree, in one of the courtyards while we have one that is just a few years old by our front door. Very cool tree! It's in one of the pictures. From their website: "Lan Su Chinese Garden offers infinite paths to discovery, whether you are a visitor simply taking in the beauty of the garden for the first time or a member who comes back day after day to sip tea in the teahouse. One visit just isn't enough to take in the depth and abundance of experiences. Lan Su is ever-changing —by the minute, by the hour, and with the seasons. Something as simple as the shifting of light throughout the day can dramatically alter the garden's appearance and your experience. You'll always discover something new at Lan Su."
Kelly Thomas — Google review
Beautiful garden! Loved the feel. It's in the middle of the city so a big juxtaposition between serene garden and run down buildings. I loved it, it was pretty but $14 for something that took us 30 min max to do was steep.
Lisa Zauner — Google review
An absolute oasis of tranquility in the heart of Portland. Easy access from the Max line also makes it convenient to get there from many locations. Fully walled off with tranquil water features, this is a reproduction of a Japanese scholars home from centuries ago. Plenty to see and do, guided and non-guided tours available, and a tea house on site. One note is that as of October 2023 the tea house is closed and being renovated, bit they are opearting a pop-up tea shop where you can buy tea and accessories and a cup of hot tea during your visit. I'm glad we took the time to visit while in Portland for a convention, totally worth it.
M A — Google review
Wonderful gem in Portland. Authentic style Chinese Garden with lovely architecture and details. Tea house was closed sadly but I understand it will be coming back thankfully. Fun tip is to take off your shoes and walk barefoot on the amazing polished stone walkways for a nice foot massage. 100% recommend this place. The plantings, detailed architecture and authenticity are worth seeing. Also it's critical to support local gems like this.
Andrew Engel — Google review
A really beautiful garden and awesome tasting tea. It's only $3 entry for EBT/Snap card holders. The only downside is the area of town is covered in homeless. I didn't feel safe walking with my daughter here or parking our car nearby. Have someone drop you off and pick you up later if possible.
Rachel Flaat — Google review
We spent a lovely drizzly time here yesterday, enjoying a docent led tour and spring blossoms. Will surely return to savor more of this beautiful space!
The Portland Saturday Market is a popular and festive event that features crafts, food carts, entertainment and more. The market is located at Waterfront Park in the Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.
It was fun walking around looking at beautiful crafts and items that are handmade! Food tents were offering delicious items. It was a great experience and beautiful to walk along the waterfront.
Jeri Harte — Google review
Haven't been there in a few years. Sure gas changed a lot. What made it unique seems to have disappeared. The feel isn't there. Did get a couple catnip pillows and that's it.
Q Madp — Google review
Good variety of booths, parking nearby. The sewer smell by the food carts was a bit much. The drum circle was by far my favorite part!
Ren?e — Google review
I love going to Portland Saturday Market there is such a nostalgia for me. Being born and raised in Portland it is definitely something I love doing now and then as it truly gives of the spirit of Portland. Even if it's just to peruse and walk around, it's always fun. The trash could use some attention but... What's new lol
Abbie Lu — Google review
Where do I begin? I had such a fun experience at the market. There were several talented vendors and artists. I did find that many of the booths sold similar items which was disappointing, it would have been better if there was more variety. There were not that many food options, but the ones that were there were delicious. I enjoyed the live music, but most of all the drum circle. This is a great spot to bring the entire family for the day.
Cha'vette Ware — Google review
This outdoor market is huge! Many different vendors selling trinkets, art, home decor, clothing, etc. There are also a few food stands throughout the area. I would suggest bringing cash but most vendors take card/Venmo as well.
Lydia Cheng — Google review
Such a fun way to spend your Saturday! There are tons of booths to checkout and the booths have a huge variety of things to look at. Sometimes I feel like outdoor Markets just sell you dips, spices and knives. The Portland market has a huge variety of art, jewelry, dips and spices. 😜 I also enjoyed the variety of food vendors: North African food, pretzels, polish food. It was all over the place and it was so hard to decide on one. Most importantly their were a good amount of port a potties and surprisingly they were really clean. I’m not sure if they are always super clean but they were the day I visited. A great place for peeps with kids, dogs or to just go by yourself.
Stefanie Alarcon — Google review
Lots of different booths. Food, clothes, jewellery, home decor you find it all. Great vibe and music. Paid parking on the streets and parking lots nearby. Tried Mangonada for the first time, would definitely recommend.
Abhijeet Sogani — Google review
Some stores said no photos and no foods around them. But it’s a open place for people. Kinda nonsense to me but it’s a what it’s. Anyway so much fun stuffs, arts, pets clothing etc they have so many food trucks. Summer time they have an outdoor fountain for kids. All people are having a good time.
Morai Ball — Google review
This place was huge! It was our first time here and couldn’t have been more impressed. Beautifully set up with tons of vendors. Due to covid there wasn’t as many vendors as usual but I still found so many unique pieces of handmade art. It was pretty crowded. Definitely try the pupusas and elote, it was delicious.
brandy rose — Google review
The shop choices are pretty diverse, my personal favorites were the resold tour shirts (the owner of the spot is kinda loony, but in a super fun way. Wish I could have spent $1000 here on hidden gem shirts. A must see if you’re at the market.) and a self made perfume business (forget the business name, look for black tables and very little marketing). Other than those 2, everything else was okay in my opinion when it comes to shopping options, but the area right in the river is beautiful and a fun experience. Plenty of food choices in the area as well.

A beautiful market with plenty to see and do! Artists of all kinds selling their wares and “custom” works being done whilst you wait!

First-time here and late post alert !!📢⚠️
- Was nice to visit and see so many vendors set up.
- There is quite a bit to see and explore in the market with many products.
- It goes down roughly a couple of streets and some live entertainment (singer) near the bridge.🎤🏬🛍
- Limited hours of operations 10-5pm
- Pets need to be on leashes.
- Overall, the market only took us 1 hour or less to go through.⏲️

Love attending the Portland Night Market! So many vendors! Love the range and also the great food options. Los Compadres are the best tacos and Doyaji’s Korean fried chicken is amazing! I will say they’ve been getting more and more packed lately. It’s difficult to even move which is not fun. I would recommend getting there early or later in the night.
Chantel Sanchez — Google review
This is a high quality market. I’ve been to a lot of markets all over the country and the products at this market are well put together, artistic and more refined than what I’m used to seeing at local neighborhood markets. I didn’t take too many pictures of the products as some people don’t like that. The location was very nice, I walked a mile from my hotel, and it was very beautiful. Everyone was very friendly, it was very organized, and the food was very good, lots of options.
Jay Schimke — Google review
A must-go market, with so much that you actually need. Great space with local artisans. You might want to check Jeremy out at Vagabond Skincare, you'd be in for a treat!

Was on vacation and thought this would be a fun place to stop, and it did not disappoint. There were tons of food vendors, arts and crafts, and live music. Had to get elephant ears (cash only) because the aroma was so enticing. Everything towards the water seems to be handmade or original ideas, although there were some places towards 1st and 2nd street as well. Fantastic coffee from Bella Luna Coffee. Delicious elephant ears with a choice of topping. Really flavorful food from Horn of Africa. There are stalls including caricaturists, a man that makes garden gnomes with your face, photographs, drawings, paintings, cat toys, CBD products, just to name some. Worth the visit!!
Liza — Google review
I took a bus there and had no trouble so I definitely recommend doing that. I hit the PSU Farmers Market then Pioneer Place and lastly the Saturday Market and only took the bus twice since everything is within walking distance. The vendors there were so original and I found some great presents for loved ones and myself including art prints, crochet pieces, and jewelry. Overall definitely want to attend again.

Multi-street outdoor market running along the river with various craft tents and food trucks to enjoy.
Large variety of items for sale from pairings to leather belts and so many one-of-a-kind items as well. Fun spot to wander around on a Saturday afternoon. Great views of the river and bridges and under the Portland Oregon Old Town sign.
Nice mix of food trucks and places to buy coffee, fresh fruit, or a nice hot lunch. The soft pretzels are amazing!
Worth a stop if in Portland.
Old trading post with cultural exhibits of 19th-century life, including a blacksmith & weapon demos.
Great depiction of the history of the people, the fort, and Vancouver. **Must watch the amazing movie in the visitors center first, for a full understanding of the history.
Dee Hinman — Google review
It is a large and informative place. They have a beautiful garden area. The kitchen, blacksmith shop, and carpenter shop have people interacting with guests and actually performing the tasks they would have done when the fort was running. Would recommend visiting, be careful on the guard tower steps though.

This place is just really cool and makes for a great photography location. Also conveniently close to the waterfront, downtown, the interstate, Portland, and Washington highway 14.

A great NPS unit if you’re into local history (and history in general). The visitor center and gift shop are open, as are the grounds. Most of the buildings, including the air museum are closed. We were able to tour the “big house” and even got a quick custom tour by the employee who was fabulous. Also, Ryan C. was one of the best park employees I’ve ever talked to. His passion for knowledge and education was unmatched. Our group really appreciated talking with him.

Very nice visitor center, small but very infomative with a nice little gift shop. I came in looking for the cancellation stamp to add to my passport book. Very easy to find, can be located to the right as you enter at the main desk. They have about 8 different stamps, only one not pictured is the Junior Ranger stamp.
Andrea K — Google review
Super informative and amazing. An old fort that pays attention to the idea of history. Found unexpected items like the bathroom tiles in the visitor center and lots of nature and roaming. We are already planning a trip for the summer. The kitchen was open and the blacksmith answered all the eager questions. The ranger was amazing. He encouraged us to explore and ask questions.

Fort Vancouver is an amazing place for so many reasons. Acres to walk, jog, bike, play Pokémon with the family. There's even event coordinators for Pokémon community days who give out prizes. Beautiful sunsets and a great place to bring your pets. Fort Vancouver is a historical site that provides and inside look at the life and time of the soldiers that were once stationed there. Just outside the fort door's there is a flower and vegetable garden tended by fort employees. If you haven't been to Fort Vancouver you're missing out.

Great stop with those with kids. Lots of room to run and enjoy the outdoors. The front is great for parents and kids to learn history of the 1800 fur trade. Staff was great and knowledgeable. Air museum was closed saddly. Wife loved the garden so if wanting to see this, plan on time of year accordingly.

Nice little stop to see the book store and a quick history tour. The touch screen display showing the changes of the area over time was really interesting. The once massive forest is no longer there.
All the staff was helpful and friendly. Plus, nice bathrooms!!
This 242-ft. waterfall along the Historic Columbia River Highway can be crossed via a hiking trail.
Came two months ago at the coldest time of the month! It's one of those places that has proven that it's gorgeous no matter the season and weather. You get the beautiful view of the falls and hike upwards crossing the bridge. Worth the stop if you are around the area or driving through.

It’s beautiful. The fact that you can see the falls so closely is amazing. This falls is definitely underrated. The hike was also really short. Took us about 15 mins to get to the falls. Overall it was amazing

Natures is miraculous but human. Trail loop is well maintained and beautiful with some waterfalls along the path. It takes me about 2h to finish the trail. Just one courtesy thing to do is pack in-pack out but few people don’t. I picked some tissues and emptied bottle on my way. hope people won’t litter.

A must visit place when you are driving through US Route 30. The falls is right beside the freeway and there is a large parking lot very close to the falls. The view of the drop is magnificent and breathtaking. Ideal spot for picnic and for hiking.
bharat batasari — Google review
If you love waterfalls and love hiking this is for you. The stretch between Vista House and Multnomah Falls on the historic route 30 is full with waterfalls, creeks and so many head trails. It doesn’t matter how many times I go to the same area I find a trail I didn’t walk before. Some are easy and short, some are longer and more challenging. But at the end of it they are all worth the hike.
Talia Winner — Google review
Wahkeena Falls is a short half mile (if that) hike from the parking lot to the falls. It is a bit of a climb but worth the sight. There is a good amount of parking if you arrive early enough or on a weekday. There is no cost for parking or to view the Falls. Across the road is another parking area along with picnic tables and bathrooms.

Decent hike. Took the trail in the rain, in crocs and found no difficulty at all ascending and descending. Went with a small group while in town and it was perfect for the time slot we were working with

Beautiful falls. Busy area with less parking spots but it was worth it. Multnomah falls is super crowded hence I liked this one better. Multiple steps falls. You can climb on the side and get a better click. Must visit if you are nearby.

Right next to the road along the Columbia River Gorge Historic Highway. Tall waterfalls just like Multnomah minus the bridge. Car parking is limited and pretty crowded since the view point is along the sidewalk. There is a trail that goes above.

Really cool viewpoint. 0.2mile quick trail to the falls. It’s so close that you can feel the mist.

I took the 5 mil route from Wahkeena Falls to Multnomah Falls and I think it was great. Difficulty level is easy to below moderate, at least for us. Am glad we did that early in the morning around 8am++ as the parking area will be filled up pretty quick.

A decent length 5mi loop if you choose. If you just want a out and back experience you can just go to the viewpoints. Definitely bring some more textured hiking shoes. Makes things easier cause some trail areas are a little on the rough side. Especially if you choose to hike the loop.

This is one of the breathtaking waterfalls to visit if visiting Portland. We visited this one on a tour to visit 6 waterfalls in the area using e-bikes which is the best thing ever that is fun and you wouldn't have to deal with car parking nightmares. The waterfall is so amazing and the hike to see it is short and not hard so make sure and hit that spot if visiting the area

Did the full 5 or so miles loop and it was absolutely worth it. Did it mid winter so we were walking through the clouds. Maybe one of my favorite hikes within a hour of the city.
It has a parking lot with limited spots but you can also access the loop from the Multnomah Falls parking lot.
Super well maintained but there are some parts of the trail that can be iffy if you’re scared of heights. Wear shoes with good tred! Also look out for any added signage on any of the maps throughout the hike.

Did the 5 mile hike starting here that wraps around in a loop to go to Multnomah Falls and ends here again. Fantastic hike!! Some switchbacks in the beginning but then it's not as steep the rest of the hike, more spread out. Its absolutely beautiful about halfway through especially, lots of yellow trees and little fields in the forest. The trees are tall and dense and the sun peeks through at random parts. With the time of day we went, there was mist and peeking sun and yellow leaves everywhere, it looked magical. It was gorgeous! The waterfalls are amazing too. This is one of my favorite hikes! Only con is there's a very small parking lot out front, we ended up parking further down on the side of the road and walking up but there's no sidewalk along the road, so be careful.

Really great trail and very much worth it. Parked right by the trail head of Wahkeena and got there kind of early (8 am) and had plenty of parking spots. It does fill up quick though. The hike has a lot of scenery and you get to the falls pretty quick. There are some switchbacks to keep going that are kind of steep but not forever long. Takes you to a beautiful look out which was worth hiking up. We went a little further to fairy falls and then kept going and went all the way over to Multnomah falls and then walked back to the wahkeena parking lot.

I don't think the trail has been fully restored yet after the snowstorm. Some sections are very difficult to walk.
The Oneonta Gorge is a picturesque ravine consisting of mossy basalt rock, four stunning waterfalls, and various hiking trails. Visitors can opt for easier hikes like Latourell Falls or Elowah Falls, but should be prepared to get wet on the hike into Oneonta Gorge. While the gorge trail is currently closed due to fire damage, there are open trailheads about 100ft above it that lead to Triple Falls.

Check out my full detailed video on YouTube @Waterfall Whispering ~ This area is a great way to burn some calories with easy access to numerous trails and several waterfalls! About a 3.5 mile RT hike to triple falls with a lot of fun elevation changes this place is challenging but rewarding! Even though the lower falls are the highlight of the area and are currently closed it’s still worth the day trip out! Watch my vid and see what’s on this trail and even have old video of the lower falls if you’re curious how it looks! 👍🤙

The gorge trail itself is closed due to fire damage. However their are some trailheads about 100ft up from the gorge trail that are open and take you to triple falls. Once the gorge opens back up I will be taking full advantage, but for now just go up to the road to Oneonta trailhead

Still thinking about this beautiful day! Make sure you don’t mind getting your shoes, clothes and feet wet! Because you will most definitely get them wet! I didn’t mind at all! I even went for a swim! Gotta love Oregon!!

Unfortunately the trail is still closed from the fire in 2017. There's a small parking lot near the gorge but the entrance and gorge itself is fenced off. Still recommend seeing it to take in the damage that was done and the time it takes for nature to recover.

The trail through the gorge is still closed 4/27/23 but you can see the gorge from above if you take the 1 mile hike up the mountain.

Hiking through Oneonta is one of my most favorite memories ever. There's an abundance of beauty, peace, and bliss here.
Pro tip: thi hike itself is very short but the rocks are very slippery and there are fallen logs that are scary and can be dangerous. So make sure you have the right shoes and are prepped for the trail.
The water is super cold but you get used to it.
Madelene Rabi Bernard — Google review
The Oneonta Gorge is a scenic gorge located along the Columbia River. Because of the unique vegetation that grows there, this gorge has been designated as a botanical area by The U.S. Forest Service. It follows then that these plants are to be looked at but not touched, and that hikers should respect the growth and stay on the trail. Many of the varieties that grow here can grow only here in the Gorge.
There are four major waterfalls on the Oneonta Creek as it runs through the gorge.
Middle Oneonta Falls can be seen clearly from a footpath and is very often mistaken for the upper or lower falls. The drop of the Middle Falls is 24-feet and that’s the one we saw.
The Lower Gorge has been preserved as a natural habitat, so hikers don't usually go there. Thus, Lower Oneonta Falls can only be seen by walking upstream from the creek's outlet at the Historic Columbia River Highway.
If one really wants to see the entire Lower Falls, it is visible, but this can require wading through cold, chest-deep, water at certain times of the year. That's not for me.
The Upper Falls are about 1 mile upstream from the Middle Falls and require scrambling up the creek or climbing down a canyon wall to view. The Fourth Falls which is "Triple falls" can be seen from a vantage point on the upper trails in the canyon.
There is also a great old railroad tunnel that is now part of the pedestrian path.

Currently still fencing up around the trail head and inaccessible since the eagle fire of 2017. The tunnel next to the trailhead got re-boarded with new wood. There are small Parking on one side of the tunnel.
The Bonneville Dam, erected in 1937, stands at a towering height of 197 feet. This impressive structure offers a park area for pedestrians to enjoy the breathtaking view of its gushing spillway. The Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls Tour takes you on a scenic drive along the oldest highway in the country and stops at various viewpoints that showcase panoramic views, including the renowned Bonneville Dam Sturgeon viewing center.
Trillium Lake is a stunning manmade lake covering 65 acres with picturesque mountain and forest backdrops. The location offers various recreational activities such as camping, hiking, and Nordic skiing. Visitors can access gorgeous hiking trails leading to the frozen paradise overlooking Mount Hood. However, visitors should note that the road leading to Trillium Lake isn't cleared during winter, requiring walking a considerable distance before entering the normal lake loop hike.
Nice place for winter hike! Great view to see Mt hood standing on frozen lake top.

Trillium lake is a beautiful spot to get amazing photos of Mt. Hood. It is also nice for some fishing with some 20”+ trout swimming in there. About an hour from Portland. It is used pretty heavily, and people suck, so it isn’t the cleanest area. You will find some bottles floating around with some trash here and there, but it isn’t trashed.
Must happened to be a rare, beautiful first week in October where it was in the 80’s and the skies were about as clear as can be.

Gorgeous hiking trails to a frozen lake paradise overlooking Mt Hood! Bathrooms on site, but bring your own tp! Be prepared to expend some major energy on the serious up hill hike portions! Also, note the road in isn’t cleared in the winter so you’ll have to park and walk a long long way before even entering the normal lake loop hike. Overall, worth every second! Crazy beautiful snowy hike to a frozen lake dream land!

It's crowded on weekends n summer especially

Get your own things for picnic / kayak or one can rent the same on spot for a higher price and waiting period.

A wonderful location for dry camping around a warm water lake looking at mount hood. Bring your kayak and paddle boards to really enjoy your stay

We went to Trillium Lake on a recommendation as it was a great place for the best views of Mt. Hood. On our day, there was a light rain and low clouds so we didn’t see the whole mountain.
But we did see a lot of fishermen and people eating their lunch at the picnic tables, and a few paddle borders. Lots of dog walkers too.
There was a day fee of $10 but I only had a $20, so the park has extra funds.
We’d go back again.

Trillium Lake in Oregon is an absolute gem! I recently had the pleasure of camping there, and it was a breathtaking experience. I can't recommend it enough for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The serene lake, surrounded by towering trees and majestic mountains, creates a picturesque setting that instantly puts you at ease.
One of the highlights of my trip was the incredible star gazing opportunity. When the sky was clear, it transformed into a mesmerizing canvas of twinkling stars. The absence of light pollution allowed me to witness a celestial spectacle like never before. It was an awe-inspiring sight that left me feeling connected to the vastness of the universe.
The campground itself was well-maintained. Waking up to the tranquil sounds of nature and being able to explore the surrounding trails made me appreciate the beauty of this place even more.
Trillium Lake is a true haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you're into hiking, fishing, or simply seeking solace in nature, this place has it all. The panoramic views from the hiking trails are nothing short of breathtaking, and the peaceful ambiance makes it an ideal spot to relax and recharge.
If you're planning a visit to Oregon, Trillium Lake should be at the top of your list. Don't forget to bring your camping gear and keep your fingers crossed for clear skies. The star gazing experience alone is worth the trip. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I give Trillium Lake a well-deserved five-star rating!

10/10. The view is just so beautiful! The water was warm enough to swim in early July, so clean and clear too. There are not many places to camp out on the beach, we went on a Friday afternoon and got lucky with our little spot. The kayak/paddle board rentals are reasonably priced and the folks in charge of it are quite lovely. There’s a small island you can go to if you do the rentals and it’s so quiet and secluded, no view of the mountain from the island though due to the trees. I absolutely cannot get over the view we had. Definitely a must see for an out of towner (like me) or just a good place to go hangout as a local.

By far, this is one of the most beautiful lakes I have visited so far with a spectacular Mt Hood in the background. Parking can get a bit pricey, and it gets full pretty quickly so make sure to get there early and reserve a table. It’s first come first serve basis. We had a blast. Had some barbecue and had really great quality family time.

Best views of Mt Hood can be seen from Trillium lake. There is a $5 fee for day use, but if you have a National Park Pass that itself suffices. You can do boating, paddle boarding here. Nice calm nature and great spot to spend time with family on a sunny day.

Definitely here is best view point that can have very nice pictures on your back.
People fishing to have trouts and have nice walk path around lake and day use area to camping site . Fee area for day use $10.00 . Pet friendly with leash on
Very strongly recommend to be early in the morning and kayak and paddle boat

The best spot, for the best view and photographs is going all the way straight back to the dam. id skip the boat launch, especially when crowded, accept, thats the best way to access the small dock as well as the ramp of course
It was absolutely incredible. More beautiful in person than any photograph i had seen. avoid weekends during peak season. the campground was sold out and there were far too many people the last weekend in June when I was there. Sunrise and sunset is when you have the best opportunity to find the lake glass like and get one of those iconic reflection pictures, similar to mine.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
We just had a short stay here for our 8 year anniversary, but my husband and i had a lot of fun staying at one of the treehouses, mini-golfing, going to the aerial park, enjoying the gorgeous scenery, and eating all the good food. The room was very clean and cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were all so very kind, warm, and welcoming. I'd love to come back here and try axe-throwing, zip-lining, and whatever else we may have missed. So much to do in such a beautiful place.

The staff was amazing. From the front desk, the gift shop and restaurant to the amazing guides on the zip line tour. Kelly and Lori were awesome. The bed was way stiff for our liking and there was a wedding that had music shaking the building until 10. But the experience was money well spent. I recommend the river view rooms, spend the extra money!

We had a great time on the zip line course. We were there as part of an ACL cruise. As first time zip line participants, we were very impressed by the safety measures and care given the equipment and orientation. Most importantly our guides Lori and Kelly were simply outstanding. Careful professionals who used humor to calm nerves, they were as comfortable with newbies as with experienced folks. They made the tour!

We had a blast on the Zipline Adventure today! The guides were fun, experienced and very focused on keeping us safe while having an excellent time. I highly recommend this as a birthday gift or just a fun way to spend time together. We tried having a meal on the bar deck but were unable to get service. Surprising for such a beautiful and expensive venue. No worries...we drove to Vancouver and had a delicious meal at the Cove. Highly recommended! 😎

Such a fun experience! Highly recommend. Even in a drizzle, it didn’t matter! The trees keep you from being wet and uncomfortable AND the course is a great blend of quick and lengthier zips. We had a great time, good conversation and made joyful memories while visiting close to home.

Overpriced, but pretty much the norm for these kinds of experiences. The guides (Chris and Bella) were great, super friendly and helpful. They did a great job keeping both the younger kids and the adults entertained and happy (and had Venmo tipping options at the end). The ziplines were fun, nothing sketchy, and the tour length was good too. None of the lines were draw-jopping amazing or anything, but it was still really fun.

Timberline Lodge is a retreat situated at the bottom of Mt. Hood, offering accommodations in both 1930s-style lodge rooms and rustic chalets. With an outdoor pool on offer, guests can relax and take in the beautiful scenery around them. The dining options available provide an opportunity for guests to satisfy their hunger after observing skiers during summer ski activities or engaging in winter sports like skiing or snowboarding if they have made prior reservations.
Took my wife to Mt. Hood for our anniversary. It was a hot Pandemic July and we wanted to get away. It was a little pricey, but not more than you'd expect for the location. It's a proper log-cabin lookin place with all wood everything. Our room was cozy and cute.
Went to the restaurant. The food was excellent and cooked properly. I'm often not impressed with destination food, but I was pleasantly surprised here.
We visited all the historical stuff in the building, hiked around the remaining snow (in July), and got rained on. It was the perfect Portland day.

This place is absolutely amazing. Finally had a chance to stop here on my way to Bend, and I'm so happy I did. The whole lodge has such a warm vibe of history, and is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Everything is super clean and immaculately maintained. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and can't be beat. The lodge sits so high on top of the mountain it literally sits above the clouds you drive through before you reach the parking lot. Went during the summer 7/6/23. Still some small patches of snow near lodge.
It's spectacular yet homey feeling. Being on a mountain the location is great.
I wandered around looking at artwork and such 👍.
I took a quick video of a room that the staff had just worked on. No idea if it's average or not.
RE: Accessibility... I think they have elevators, lifts, and ramps to get everywhere, but it's an old building so figure on it being complex.

I don't think I have to say much about the historic Timberline Lodge. Staying here was a great experience. The place has a good energy in it, and not to forget, the cool Mount Hood view on the back. And a giant hot pool. One part I didn't like was the Cascade Dining Room - the service was good, but it has very limited food choices, and that too not that great. If we are paying this much, we expect better food.

I went there for visiting Mt.Hood. Event though I and My friends we not have time for dinning there. The staff are all welcoming us to sit and have relaxing time watching a beautiful scenic Mt.Hood view. The building itself is really unique and feel warm at heart inside. Chill ski area. On weekdays, it's not too crowded and the lifts are efficient. There is not much advanced terrain, but it's an awesome hill for learners and cruisers. On calm days with good visibility, they will open up the Magic Mile and Palmer Cat Ski options. Those are great fun. I like to ski here during the day, then pop across the highway to ski nights at SkiBowl.

My family and I absolutely loved this place! We visited in October and the weather was amazing. Traveling along the Columbia River Gorge we were comfortable in light clothing like long sleeve shirts. Once we started making the drive up to the Timberline Lodge, the roads were covered in snow! It's such a cool winding drive up to the lodge. The lodge is old but it has so much character to it. The design on the inside is really neat with a gorgeous fireplace, delicious apple crisp, and a heated outdoor pool.

Amazing holiday experience! We loved it so much that we just booked our stay for next Christmas and look forward to making this an annual tradition. As someone in the hospitality industry who can have high expectations I must say that Timberline exceeded mine. The staff are attentive and friendly, the historic lodge is absolutely beautiful and unique. We loved how cozy everything is and chatting with all of the other guests, it almost has a summer camp feel, like you are staying with extended family (in a good way:). Add in the holiday decorations, roaring fires and lodge dogs and you feel like you’re wrapped in a big Christmas hug. Thank you to that staff for working over the holidays and doing so cheerfully, we can’t wait to come back! 🎄❤️

We were in room 224, two single beds for 3 nights. It is a beautiful lodge with awesome views. We stayed here solely to hike Mt Hood summit. We had to leave at 1:30 AM to start hike so we were trying to get rest from 5:30 to midnight. However, the service stairs are right behind the wall so all we could hear was employees running up and down the stairs until at least 9:00. We did not receive any room service, even though we put out our sign. Also, room did not have microwave or fridge so we could not heat water up to make tea at midnight. BUT thank goodness for Aaron, who works the front desk. BEST employee ever. He managed to acquire an electric pot so we could heat up water. He was so helpful and kind... in fact, everyone we dealt with was very nice, but Aaron went the extra mile. Also, the hot tub was down for repair, which we were informed of in advance, but it would have been nice for when we returned from our climb.

I only visited the hotel and had lunch at one of their restaurant. I did not enjoy the restaurant (Cascade Dining), but this is a separate review. The hotel is a great place to visit. The views are very beautiful. You can see Mt Hood and Mt Jefferson. My wife and I were there during summer, so at this time you can also hike up Mt Hood for a while. It is definitely worth a visit. A plus for the fans of The Shining to see the views of one of the places that the movie was filmed.

Beautiful views of Mount Hood & the surrounding areas!!! Great service at the Y-Bar! Visited lodge as it is the exterior shots of The Shining film. This facility is in need of more parking but also a parking lot this is more level for handicapped and/or physically challenged individuals to ensure that all guest are safe.

This is a beautiful place in a gorgeous location. But it is also outrageously expensive; food, drinks, etc. For $30.00 per person, you should be including Eggs Benedict in the breakfast buffet. It shouldn't need to be added on for another $6.00 per person. Also, every other breakfast buffet I have been to offers an omelet station.
We paid full price, less a 15% military discount, (much appreciated). The pool and hot tub were closed, so I can only give an overall rating of 3 stars. Sorry, but for $340.00 per night, all amenities should be functional. If not, adjust the rate to reflect the lack of amenities. We would definitely go back, but not until all services and amenities are available.

The front desk staff was awesome and went above and beyond to help us solve a car problem. Truly top-tier service. They were so friendly. Thank you again.
I also loved that the hotel was celebrating halloween. They had memorabilia from The Shining, a movie screening, and candy for the guests. It was very cool!

Spent thanksgiving with my family for the first time here. Timberline is absolutely beautiful so it’s worth it to stay the night but overall quite outdated which makes the cost a little too high for my liking, considering the main attraction amenities weren’t available so we’re comped breakfast which was generous, though I had to ask. We got a nice room with a gorgeous view but the bathroom was tight, you could hear all conversations through the wall and outside in the hallway which was bothersome when you’re trying to relax in a cute cabin. The TV was tiny, if you considered that a TV, more like a PC. Otherwise, everyone who worked there was very lovely and kind.

Long drive, even longer time to find parking. Parking was not well marked, resulting in a parking warning. Very fortunate vehicle to not get towed.
Stopped in to get a coffee and see the view. If that's all you're doing, keep in mind it is a bit of an obstacle course up there so be prepared.
The view is amazing.

Beautiful, historic lodge with skiing nearby and an amazing view of the mountain. This place really needs no introduction. You're obviously paying for the location and the history if you stay here, but you don't need to stay here to visit. You can experience the beauty of Mount Hood without staying here, and you can also eat here without staying here. That said, it's a cool place to stay if you're up for it. The best part is the huge amounts of snow here in the winter.

I made a stop here during a road trip because of the historical value in The Shining. But I was not prepared for the much more significant history inside the hotel, the notable guest list, and the rich interior architecture. I had a clean room on the west end of the hotel with a nice view outside. The sauna is nice, the restaurant had excellent food. I will absolutely be back.

Excellent, historic, impressive hotel, but expensive, especially the restaurant. However, the restaurant's waiters, both nights we ate there, were some of the best - affable, knowledgeable, and fun. The food was fantastic, too. The front desk staff were not very aligned on what time ski tickets could be sold, and charged us different amounts the two times I went there. The rooms were rustic and nice, and appeared to have been redone or remodeled. The lodge itself is tremendous. I only give it 4 stars as it is very expensive.

Great place to be after a long trip. Lots of activities to do here, seems endless! Nice bathrooms, vending machines, and restaurants. Definitely a must see, the lodge is beautiful. Come early, parking is tight although there are a lot of spots.

Enjoy an overnight stay during the week days to take advantage of lower prices. Expect rustic and cozy accommodations from the lodge because this is not a five star but more like a three star setup. However, the location is extremely beautiful and the lodge is a fantastic hangout. Service is exceptionally friendly and helpful. There are decent places to have lunch and dinner at the Cascade Dining Hall or Rams Head bar. Avoid the huckleberry margarita due to the syrup is fake huckleberry not actual fruit. The food is moderate to high cost. Take the Zigzag trail for a relatively easy walk with outstanding views. Folks will have a memorable stay regardless if they are there for the day or staying the night.

Had an amazing dinner with my girlfriends at the Cascade dining room. We did the Chefs Table experience which made us feel like VIPs as we tasted unique culinary delights. The chef and his staff came out to describe their masterpieces. Everything was well executed and delicious. We were worried about our icy walk back to our car and asked the front desk their advice, the hotel manager was nice enought to get our car for us. He probably saved some broken bones that night!

The food here is always great. Fresh and high quality ingredients. We recently ate here on a Saturday when there was a major football game on in the bar and some sort of bicycling event at the lodge. The place was packed. We still got a table in under 15 minutes and although the wait for food was slightly longer, they gave us a heads up and were super professional and friendly throughout the service. Never seemed overwhelmed. The food was still as delicious as usual. The views here are amazing. For a truly peaceful experience, try coming here on a weekday in an off-season. The fire is crackling downstairs, the architecture of the giant wood beams and stone chimney are relaxing to take in. The cold-weather treats like hot cocoa are brought in glass mugs with a large swirl of whip cream. Everything is aesthetically pleasing.

They say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Luckily for me, theres much play to be had here. A nice, secluded venue that has fun for the whole family. It has a fun hedge maze outside and even some cool snowmobiles to drive in the winter. It is so cozy too! It feels like I've been here forever and know what's around every turn. The ballroom is a highlight, as it seems to always be hosting some event. For the parents, the bar serves its famous Red Rum after 5! If you want even more partying, make sure to check out Room 237. The resident in there always has her door open and people shout from in there all night long. Sounds like a lot of fun! Near the end of our stay, my dad seemed a little off, but it must've been because he enjoyed the place so much and hated to see it go. I really could spend a whole 5 months here, and I'm dying to come back!

Beautiful historic location for our work event. Not the best road conditions considering the ice storm the days prior, but they had a shuttle available if needed. They had a veteran discount for the rooms. The rooms are very small. But not unexpected for the age of the building. They had ear plugs, and fresh spring water in a glass jar in the room. Very cool visit! The catered dinner was phenomenal! The prime ribe was awesome.

I cannot speak for the rooms or service, as I have never stayed the night here, but I have been to the lobby of the Timberline Lodge, and it is amazing. This is a historic landmark. Started my climb of Mount Hood with Timberline Guides here. They are generous enough to let those of us who are too cheap to get a room to sleep in the parking lot the night before (was getting up at 12:30 AM to meet the group, so $260 was a little much for half a night for me). Bathrooms are sparkling clean. Folks at the front desk were friendly as well. Even if you are not staying the night, do check out the lobby. A magnificent piece of architecture. Look forward to actually staying the night here in the future.

We stayed at condo 7 in Government camp above the General store. It was a wonderful condo with plenty of space, heated bathroom floors, fireplace and full kitchen with dishes and cooking supplies. We were close to food and recreation and had a wonderful time indoors too.

Great location!! Love that can go directly to slopes from the room. Space can be cramped, especially for families. The hospitality room which has space for family board games and movies as well as coffee and hot chocolate is only open for the two holiday weeks around Christmas. The other public areas in the lodge are often very crowded with non-hotel guests, so not usually possible to find comfortable family hang out space otherwise.

Man do I need to talk more about this place? Let me call out first I didn’t stay at this place. I came in as a day tourist to ski and I had reservations back in Portland but I wish I could have stayed here for atke at one night.
Straight from the sets of ‘The Shinning’, this place gives you the chills and thrills. Remote with nothing around except the magnanimous Mt.Hood behind it. I will definitely comeback to spend a night here with my family. It’s definitely gonna be an experience of lifetime.

Mount Hood is an impressive volcanic mountain located in Oregon, featuring the historic Timberline Lodge and offering skiing, climbing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. It is considered one of the seven wonders of Oregon and boasts North America's only year-round ski resort situated on a volcano. Visitors can take OR-35 south from Hood River to see this famous peak and admire its breathtaking views. With friendly staff and a fun course, Mt Hood offers great outdoor experiences for anyone seeking adventure in nature.
I had a great time at Mt Hood! The staff was super friendly and the course was really fun. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great time outdoors.

Amazing summer snowboarding! Although the majority of the mountain was exposed volcanic ash, there were a decent amount of trails with slushy/playful snow. Park set-ups were a great playground to practice new tricks and perfect old ones. Never in my life did I think I would get to snowboard in a t-shirt. Incredibly memorable vacation.

Mount Hood, Oregon,USA. The mountain stands tall in the area around it for many miles alone and it is from volcanic origin. A must see area even if you are 100 miles away. There are a lot of trail around it and it is a magnet for hikers of the area. Not to be missed. Two highway run south and east of it. Driving those two highways gives you a sense of how big is it.

From the first time I traveled to Portland Oregon, to visit my Grandmother. She owned a house at the edge of a park on Mt. Tabor, I have admired the beauty of this gorgeous dormant volcano that rises up above the Columbia River Gorge. If you have never been you really need to experience it up close and personal. The violent way that this region was built has given us these awe-inspiring extremely beautiful landscapes. As always leave it better than you found it for generations to come, enjoy 😉

Summited Mt. Hood with two friends on July 24, 2022 up the Old Chute Route. It was a challenging and rewarding experience!
We got to the Timberline Lodge around 7PM on 7/23 and got our wilderness passes from the Wy’East Lodge. Make sure you bring headlamps, trekking poles, an ice axe and crampons! You will likely need all of those things to reach the top.
We slept in a van in the parking lot until 2AM. Once we woke up, we made some instant coffee and headed to the mountain. We hiked for about 2 hours until we reached a place where our boots were slipping in the snow. That’s where we put on crampons. We used crampons for pretty much the rest of the climb.
We reached the summit of Old Chute around 6:45AM. Once we made it to the top, we ate a quick snack and took some pictures. Then, we started the descent.
We got back to the van around 12PM. All told, we were on the mountain for about 10 hours. It was a fantastic time, and quite challenging! If you’re planning on summiting, make sure you do some research beforehand. We rented mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes and helmets from “The Mountain Shop” in Portland. This is definitely a climb where you want the right kind of gear.

Climbed it for the first time last weekend. Being a holiday it was more crowded and I think took longer than normal. Still, easy enough climb up until the final ascent where it gets technical. Only had 1 ice ax and definitely wish I had two

This is right next to the Timberline Lodge (which is a must-visit place, the history of that place is incredible). The mountain view is breathtaking and makes you appreciate nature and sparks your curiosity. We spent some time walking around soaking in the view and taking pictures. Then we visited the lodge and learned so much about the amazing history of that place.

In the first days of our trip, we took nature walks around Mount Hood and enjoyed it very much, we had a very enjoyable time, we took hundreds of photos of the waterfall. Then we saw such neat places and had such different experiences that when we look back, my wife said that it was like a municipal cultural park here, next to the others. In the end, I'm posting this here by saying that every photo with a combination of mountain, stone, water, family is worth sharing 😬❤️
It felt pretty cool to walk in the woods on snow again. It made me start thinking about winter adventures to be had again, soon. ❄ 😊💙

The city of Mt Hood and the huge mountain itself is just off of the Columbia River which separates Washington State from Oregon. There is snow at its peak 365 days a year and it’s huge! This is a great place to visit or stay. The city of My Hood is situated just west of The Dalles Oregon and is a quaint little town and the mountain is just south of the city. There are hotels, Airbnb, small pubs and a microbrewery downtown. Plenty of things to do such as hiking around Mt Hood Park, off road driving the fire trails around the mountain, fishing for sturgeon in the Columbia, visiting and touring the dam and local parks to enjoy the outside weather. There are giant waterfalls nearby and just across the Hood River bridge, there’s a little town called White Salmon Washington located way up on the hill overlooking the city of Mt Hood. There are restaurants and pubs and a small grocery store there as well. You can’t purchase alcohol on Sunday in Washington State but you can in Oregon! It only took me about five minutes to figure that out when I lived there back in 2018. All in all this is no doubt one of the most beautiful places to visit or live in the country. There’s nothing like the forests of the Pacific Northwest! Just have to be careful not to disturb Bigfoot!

Mt. Hood is always very nice experience. Picturesque view, pleasant weather, nice trails. Parking in this area is slightly inconvenient, and essentially no place to eat, but those factors should not affect the rating of a place that is meant for hiking/mountain climbing.

Great beautiful mountain I saw it all the way, and we got closer right at the Timberline Lodge. Amazingly, the ski resort was still open and operating normally. The mountain looks even better when you are right there. A very nice stop and great view here at the lodge. You can also see another snow covered mountain from the lodge -- Mt. Adams of Washington. Very worth to have a stop here and enjoy the great mountain view.
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is a natural preserve featuring an iconic 80-mile long and 4,000-ft. deep canyon along the Columbia River. It is home to unique wildlife and spectacular mile-deep basalt lava flows that attract visitors from all over the world. The area is renowned for its stunning waterfalls, including Multnomah Falls, which are among the most beautiful in the world.
Always love visiting here! Now, I'm working out here! I get to experience this beauty daily now. Road construction is beginning on I84, lasting until mid November 2022. Be aware and slow down and move over. Help keep us safe!

The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is one of the most spectacular and underrated areas in the United States. The scenic gorge is home to many spectacular waterfalls, the most spectacular and popular being Multnomah Falls right along I-84, not to be missed. You may need a permit for the waterfall corridor, the most popular area in the park. We recommend stopping at the other waterfalls and taking the trails to get away from other visitors, especially above Horsetail Falls and the other waterfalls. Other areas that our worth a visit in the park is the Old Historic Highway (first dedicated scenic highway every built in the United States) and Vista House.

There are no words to describe how absolutely beautiful the Columbia River Gorge is. Videos and photos give you a glimpse, but you really need to experience it for yourself. It is truly the diamond of the Pacific Northwest. Seriously, I have never found such scenic beauty and serenity in nature ever.
I 100% plan to spend alot of time up and down the Washington and Oregon side of the Scenic River Gorge this summer considering it's my absolute favorite place to go hiking. I love Multnomah Falls, Hamilton Mountain, Larch Mountain, Beacon Rock, The Bridge of the gods, Cape Horn, Horsetail Falls, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls; seriously, I could go on for days with naming specific places, but I won't, I will just make sure to share with you all of the upcoming hikes I have planned. I am excited just thinking about it!!
If you love nature like most who live in Washington and Oregon do, you definitely will not be disappointed.🤙🏼
Here is a fun fact (or 2, lol): There are over 90 breathtaking waterfalls alone along the Columbia River Gorge. It's an 80 mile long spectacular river canyon. A MUST SEE!

Beautiful scenery. Amazing water falls. Excellent trails. Several nice campgrounds, both state park & national forest run. You need an OR state park pass &/or an national interagency pass (America the Beautiful or Northwest Forest) for parking at many of the the trailheads or day use areas. Or you can purchase a day use pass for $5-10 depending on area.
The only negatives are the extremely crowded popular areas & the constant noise of a major interstate highway combined with a heavily used freight railway. Bring your ear plugs if you plan on camping in the gorge!

The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) is a non-profit organization that showcases restored cars and planes from the 1920s and 1930s. The museum is housed in two hangars and offers scooters for those with limited mobility. Despite plans to build another building, the pandemic forced them to redirect funds to stay operational. Visitors should plan for ample time as there are many exhibits to see, primarily focused on airplanes but also featuring unexpected items.
I can't believe I haven't heard of this place before, and if I have, why haven't I been here. I volunteered to drive a WWII veteran to eastern Oregon because neither in the party could drive anymore. I was told about this museum and stopped in on my way back. This place is big and clean and covers a lot of stuff, mainly airplanes and some unexpected items. They were going to build another building, but the pandemic had them use that money to stay operational. They have scooter thingies for those that can't walk too well. I'll be going back to finish my tour. You need to bring a lot of time to see it all. Well worth the visit.

LOTS to see here and everything kept in immaculate condition by an army of dedicated volunteers. Anyone who appreciates antiques or machinery would love this place.
This is not a hands on museum so if you have kids who are used to children's museums you'll be chasing them and saying "no, stop touching that!" A lot. Plus you have to pay to get in so if you're just looking for a quick and easy place to let your kids run out some energy, keep looking.

Visited Hood River during a very cool, rainy period for the month of April 2023. Struggling to find things to do during inclement weather, found WAAAM on Trip Advisor. We are not particularly car people but found this museum and all the volunteers who work there delightful. With more than 3 1/2 hangar acres of antique and classic cars, planes, motorcycles and more, there is so much to see. One thing that makes this museum unique is that all of the vehicles are operable and are used periodically for special events and parades. Consider going on the “Second Saturday” play day when a few of the airplanes, cars and other motorized vehicles are taken out, rides are given. We spent 2 enjoyable hours there before we here on overload with all to see. Included a few photo favorites we saw during our visit.

A bit overwhelming at first. This place is big and keeps getting bigger as you go along. A wonderful staff and gift shop. A highlight was the roaming (scooter) volunteers. These guys are a wealth of information and stories. Just when you think you have seen everything, there is more around every corner. Plan on sending at least two hours or more. Most of the collection is road or air worthy making it a special museum. Most everything is housed under 3 acres of building and very comfortable. Restroom was clean and they even have a snack bar. What a treat on a wet spring day. Definitely worth a return visit.

So much fun! A great way to see hood river from a unique perspective. Enough of the route is shaded and you move pretty quickly so fun to do even if it's hot. You stop for 45min at the fruit company so we had time to taste wine at the winery next door. Everyone was super friendly and the guides
were really into making sure that you had a good time. If you don't want to pedal the bikes are electric so you can sit back and zoom along!

This was a great adventure. We did this on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The advertised description is spot on. We enjoyed beautiful views while experiencing rail bikes. It’s a unique experience that is great for a group, an afternoon with friends or for a romantic date. My advice is take a picnic lunch and beverage of choice, don’t forget the picnic blanket (there are tables outside at the winery if the picnic blanket is not for you). Don’t forget the sunscreen and your camera. They do sell cheese, salami and fruit at the fruit company but unless you bring a knife, cutting board, etc. it makes it a challenge to eat.
Our crew were very nice and helpful making sure were comfortable.
We had the best day, I can’t wait to go back.

My husband and I had an absolute blast on the rail bikes. Our guide was excellent and just delightful (make sure you bring a 'Dad joke' with you for sharing) as were the rest of the support staff who went along, turned the bikes around on the tracks and generally made sure we were all clear on how things worked and the bikes were functioning properly, helped if there were questions / issues.
I'm 66 and I'll certify it's true that most anyone can go on the rail bikes with no issues. My husband and I do exercise regularly, that said... you can pedal or not. The bikes have a throttle (not like an electric bike, it is not assisted pedaling) and you can just ride along if that's what you want to do. We enjoyed the pedaling. The one thing we weren't clear on was that there is a nice bin at the front of each bike for you to put your stuff in and it will hold quite a bit of 'stuff'. That makes it nice when you get to the mid point where the fruit store and winery are and you just can't leave without a couple bottles of your favorite whatever or some special treats for someone special back home.
We had a perfect day weather-wise, it was warm and breezy. It can get hot and on those days the rail bikes will be less fun but most of the track is shaded so you'd be fine.
The fruit store / museum is fun... and the winery is a great stop to enjoy a glass of wine / treat. We had taken the noon bike ride so when we got to this point a glass of rose and some almonds made the perfect treat while sitting in the shade and appreciating the beauty of Mt Hood rising in the distance. Gorgeous.

The photos on the website did not describe the reality of this train ride. It showed plates of cookies, everyone holding endless mugs of coco, robust and luxurious decor, a beautiful, sparkling bust Christmas town, and this sense of magic. The train was sparse, it was 1 cookie on 1 napkin, with 1 coco, and a very sad cast of characters dressed in ostumes with a very impersonal overhead speakers reading to an audience held hostage on a very slow train ride. IF LUNCH or DINNER were served then at least it'd be senicly worth it!

We were so excited for the Christmas Train experience for years now, and finally, the opportunity came for my family. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of our expectations, leaving us with more frustrations than anything.
Our disappointment began with the delayed start, pushing the entire experience back by over an hour. For parents with young children, it is crucial to met expectations and be on time. To make matters worse, the event extended an additional hour beyond the advertised duration, leaving our little ones tired, grump and hungry.
The train itself was dated, and the lack of activities left the children bored for the majority of the journey (they got a coloring book to keep them occupied). We had hoped for a display of Christmas lights along the way, but the only lights came when we reached "Santa's workshop".
When we booked our tickets, It highly suggest paying for parking in advance, which we did. Surprisingly, there was no verification or inquiry about our parking payment and our VIP parking was at the very end of the parking lot with everyone else, this was an unnecessary expense adding to our frustration.
In conclusion, the Christmas Train fell short of delivering the enchanting experience we had envisioned. The character experience lasted a whole 10 minutes. The combination of a late start, extended duration on the train, dated train and lack of festive decor made it a regrettable outing. For the high cost involved, we expected a seamless, magical journey for our kids, but instead, it turned into a lengthy ordeal that tested their patience and ours. We asked if they wanted to do it again next year (joking of course) and both my 6 year old and 9 year old said “No”.

This was our first time on this train trip. It was nice--not extremely scenic until you got to the orchards, but a very pleasant ride. The Premier club car was very comfortable. The staff was great--especially loved the Conductor--he was the perfect fit for the role. The stop at Pear Orchard was a nice break. Hubby sampled some of the wine at their winery.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to clean the outside of the windows because they were a bit hard to take pictures out of. Of course, this is a very old train and maybe the windows are a clear as they can get.

The trip was ok. There isn’t that much scenery as there are trees on both sides and limited view of Hood River.
Unfortunately you can no longer get off the train to shop. The staff are very friendly and courteous and they get 5 stars. I purchased my tickets online and that process was smooth.
I just don’t think it’s worth the price however understand that it’s expensive to keep the train running, and the tracks cleared, pay salaries, and other upkeep and maintenance.
The pre-recorded history about the Hood River Valley was excellent.
The overall trip was about an hour and a half.

First Class Adult $40.00

If you want to take photos there is a small platform you can get to near the back of the train.

I took the family on the railbikes and had a blast! It's a unique way to experience the beauty of the Hood River Valley. You start in Hood River and go through forests, over bridges, waterfalls, and pass by orchards in the valley. Then, at the top of the hill, you visit The Fruit Company, where they give you a free picture and snacks. It's a perfect stop to pick up some souvenirs and relax for a minute before hopping on the bike and flying back down the track! We will be going again.

I came expecting to see beautiful scenery and I was not disappointed! What I did not expect was how much I would enjoy interacting with our charming and good humored conductor Reba Sparrow. Can’t wait to come back for the Halloween train!

When is the last time you genuinely had young kid excitement? Mt. Hood Railroad delivers this in spades on their e-rail bike adventure. Pedaling on the tracks, with all the e-assist you could want, was so much fun. The scenery, the history of the track, and the adventure up to The Fruit Company (who is rumored to be extending the track up into Parkdale - - - PLEASE do this!!!) were incredible.
Your halfway point leaves you options to tour the museum, get some fresh fruit, enjoy some of the snacks they provide, try some great wines from Mt. Hood Winery, and just soak up the mountain views! Yes, plural as Hood shines to the south and Adams from the North.
From there back it's essentially all down hill with the biggest smile on your face.

Awesome time! Great new information about the area!! Recommend the end of the train because it has its own large public seating area for small kids to crawl around! It was the old hospital car! We stopped at a old fruit storage place and winery! It was so beautiful to see Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood at the same time!

What a fabulous new experience on the Mt Hood Railroad--the Phantom of the Rails Halloween Train! We took the 4:00 train, which was awesome because the Fall colors in the Hood River Valley were in full display. The seats were super comfortable, the views incredible, the staff super nice... and the actors were fantastic! They did an excellent job. Such a creative event... with acting on the train and also at our final destination (The Fruit Company). We were thoroughly entertained, with the perfect mix of spook and humor. Next up were the zombie dancers and they were amazing! Such incredible talent... and the make up--WOW! We also got a chance to look through the Fruit Company Store, try some apple cider, take in the view of Mt Hood & Mt Adams (INCREDIBLE) and more. My next trip will be on the 7:00 train to experience what the performances are like when it's dark outside. This is definitely a trip worth doing. Something unique & fun!

The arrival time (1 hour prior to boarding) was buried in the FAQs on the website, so when we arrived, we had missed the actual boarding. Staff were very gracious in getting us rescheduled and directing us to the nearest coffee shop to await the train.
The train was warm, spacious; the actors portraying elves and Santa were entertaining and engaged the Littles. The drinks were over-priced for the quality (as expected when in captive-audience situations).
Overall, it was a good experience, especially for young children.

Amazing experience. My kids were so happy to ride in the train with the Easter Bunny. People that work there are nice. The scenic view is great.
Definitely I recommend it and we will repeat the experience for Christmas

I went on the new Halloween train and it was SO amazing. I rode on the 4:00pm train ride so the fall colors were so beautiful. When we got to the Fruit company they had a fall themed store and the best part of all was a Halloween themed flash mob. The whole time we were kept entertained by all the amazing actors on and off the train. I would love to go again on the 7:00pm train to get the full spooky experience but I am so glad I went in the day so I could see all the sights. They offered food and drinks on and off the train for purchase. I think that anyone who comes to Hood River this fall should take a ride on the Mt. Hood Railroad.

The Staff and Conductor were amazing. The trip was beautiful and the the accomodations were very nice. The platform ramp for the disabled was a very nice thing to have for us. I will be trying to go again in the fall to see all the colors. It was a wonderful day.

We just finished our very first Phantom Train Halloween excursion! It was a blast, the actors were amazing, the atmosphere was spooky without going overboard, and it was an enjoyable evening. The only recommendation that I would have had would be to open the bar completely and provide more food (You will want to eat before you take this excursion as the snack tray is not enough to be considered a meal.) It can be a bit costly if you do the VIP tour but no more so than any other adventure.

Celebrated my birthday with friends by doing a railbike tour. We had a blast. It was a beautiful day with spectacular views of Mt Adams and Mt. Hood. I was a little chilly in the breeze going downhill thru the forest overlooking Whiskey Creek. Our tour guide, Avi, was excellent. She took a few photos for our group. We liked that she gave enough history and dad jokes to keep us entertained. Even though I'm from Portland, this would be a fun activity for families with kids or out of town guests.

Very fun for kids! We took the Polar Express holiday themed train ride just before Christmas and had so much fun. You will encounter fairy’s and elf’s and a gingerbread man aboard the train. Along with lots of dancing and singing while also being served hot chocolate and a cookie. The train ride was best at night because you get to see the Christmas lights as you approach “Santa clause’s house at the North Pole”. Santa and Mrs. Clause even aboard the train and took pictures with the kiddos. The ride last about 1hr 20min. Parking is right out front of the station, purchase online in advance. Enjoy and Happy holidays! 🎄👍

Such a wonderful experience! Everyone working here is so lovely and the apple orchard you travel to is family owned ♥️ The apples are otherworldly! Crisp and dense with juice yet soft and amazing. This is the perfect selfcare trip if you want to get out of the city and see the beauty of Mt. Hood. I only wish I could’ve stayed at the layover for longer, that hours goes by so quick!

The River Drifters are where it's at. Super fun, outgoing, and entertaining guides. The full day trip in Maupin was amazing. Shout out to our guide Wilson. Thank you for all the laughs, excitement, and memories. Honorable mention to Ryan for not falling off the bus and leading us to a nice drop into the river. I will definitely book another trip with this crew.

We had a great 4 hr trip down the Salmon River with Noah with our family of 4, including two kiddos (13 & 10) some fantastic rapids but still felt safe and prepared with the instruction our guide was giving keeping us posted of when we would need to dip towards the middle and when a big rapid was coming up. The water was cold, but the wet suits and splash jackets provided along with your adrenaline made the trip tolerable...I mean the water to the face will definitely "wake" you up...but its to be expected from the Salmon River. The perfect ending was a jump off a 20' bridge by a nearby area. This was such a highlight as part of our summer trip.

We took our daughter and one of her friends (2 girls in the front of the raft) on the Deschutes full day rafting trip for her 14th birthday. It was both her and her friends first time rafting. Our guide, Dawson, was very experienced, had hilarious dad jokes and stories, and made sure Jocelyn and her friend had an amazing time. River drifters went above and beyond by ensuring we were safe but also making sure everyone on our trip had a blast ! We already can’t wait for next year and will be requesting Dawson again ! Our group was so impressed by our River Drifters rafting trip on the Rogue River. The beauty of the river canyon was breathtaking. Our guides got us down the river safely and took care of all of our needs in camp. It was so nice to have all of our meals prepared for us -- fajitas, pasta, pancakes, deli sandwiches -- everything was delicious! So much of the experience happens off the water and our trip was no exception. Hanging out at camp -- good company and good conversation. Our friends had never been on a rafting trip before and they loved it. We've decided to make it an annual tradition!

Went with some friends and did the 1/2 day on the Clackamas. For some of the group this was a first-time experience and others just the first time on the Clackamas. All of us had a great time. Our guide, Larry, was awesome. He tried several jokes, but we were a tough crowd. He found our interest point quickly however.... got into the wildlife, geology, history and talked about the fires. He was great prepping us for what was to come, and he was a star when we got hung up due to low water. We LOVED the photos and bought them all! Larry and team were great.

Thanks to all the staff that take care of every detail to make us tourists learn to love the river like they do. We will return! 💦

This is a company that has been in the business a long time and definitely knows what they are doing. Outstanding customer service, COVID compliant and some of the best guides available. The guide for our day trip was Zach Williams and not once did I question the safety of the hands we were in. Several other guides and rafters we encountered along the trip confirmed it by telling us "He's the best guide out here". Multiple trip options to choose from and the experience will be as tame or daring as you and your group chooses. It was so much fun and the pictures the company photographer took really captured it. My group and I are looking forward to the next one. I could not recommend this business more!

I had never been rafting and was nervous. Especially because we were bringing our 7 year old son. Everything was great. Our guide, Paris, was fabulous with us an our son. She listened to our requests to go easy and it was very easy to follow her commands on the raft. We loved it and will be back. There was another boat in our group that flipped, but they went down a level 4 rapids. If you want to take it chill, talk to your guides before getting on the water. It was a day trip we will remember fondly always.

My family (wife and two teenagers) were excited as well as apprehensive about white water rafting, that is until they met our guide, Kirk. Kirk, his positive energy and high level of skill truly made our trip one to remember. Our son is autistic and while he enjoys adventure, we thought this might be pushing the envelope. Nope. Kirk caught on fast and made sure to help our son feel capable, included and best of all, Kirk made sure Connor had a great time. We can't wait to head back next summer! Hopefully we get Kirk again.

The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum is an engaging museum that delves into the history of the gorge, from its formation by cataclysmic floods to the challenges faced by pioneers as they traversed it. The exhibits cover early settlements, transportation in the area, and the impact of dams. The Lewis and Clark wing features a display on animals encountered during their expedition and offers a daily bird of prey educational program with live raptors.
This is a great little museum. If you are a reader of ALL the placards, expect it to take a couple hours or more. However, if you are a “skimmer” this could take an hour. They have a raptor demonstration which is interesting but is mostly talk. Very few of the displays are interactive so kids might get a bit bored. The museum itself is a fine display and in general a clean and functional building. Unfortunately some of the wings in which displays are housed make the order of the layout a bit confusing. Still, it’s a fine museum and I highly recommend it.

We hosted our wedding at the Discovery Center. Tiffany and her team were wonderful. Twelve days before our wedding, our prior venue backed out and we were left scrambling. Thankfully, the Discovery Center was available. In less than two weeks, Tiffany and her team helped us prepare the perfect setting for our wedding and reception. The staff were delightful and friendly, they were incredibly thoughtful in helping us sort through all of the details and everything went off without a hitch. In addition to the beautiful scenery and stunning hall, our guests enjoyed touring the exhibits during the reception, and a few enjoyed the quiet of the theatre to escape all the fun of the dance floor. This venue has literally everything you need for the perfect wedding day - including stunning photo locations.

Stunning facility and exhibits are incredibly detailed and artistically inclusive! The historical representation includes information from a number of different angles and doesn’t ignore some of the difficult truths. Surrounding scenery is jaw-dropping and breezes off the river are wonderful! Lots of great parking for all sizes of vehicles too :)
Please consider educating your staff on the passport cancellation stamp, and updating the actual stamp: it only goes to year 2021. This is a popular hobby with some people and we tend to nerd-out a bit when we visit locations with this option.
Thanks!

I like museums in general, so take my excitement with a grain of salt!
This museum was super fun! The sections were mainly dedicated to the PNW and history (geological and human) of the Gorge. I really loved it! These sections covered Ice Age & how it shaped the current day Columbia Gorge, native American history of the Gorge, Lewis and Clark expedition, recreation of little pieces like camera, car, boats, etc. that were once used in this gorgeous Gorge. I easily spent close to two hours here.
They also have a kids section which I didn’t really checkout. I loved the small owl enclosure! There are 3 enclosures, but I could see only one owl. The museum gift shop has some interesting trinkets, many of which seem to be made locally. Do checkout the walkways surrounding the center! There are some great views out at the back!
There is a fee of 9$ for adults. Also, there is plenty of parking at the center!

Not too big museum. Pretty nice, no birds of prey /raptors unfortunaly and the AC was not working, so to me the balance of value for money was not right also for how big the exhibitions are. Exhibitions are really nice although.

For those planning to stay in Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles along with Hood River are recommended options.
Remote mansion with a diverse collection, including Rodin sculptures & Native American artifacts.
I've been to a few museums over the course of my life, but this is definitely one of my favorites. Definitely small, but the collections they have are of pure quality. Great selection of sculptures, paintings, other visual art, and even interactive exhibits such as a wall where you can draw your own painting and place it with those of other patrons'. I found a lot of lovely pictures to admire and had an excellent time walking around and trying to soak everything in. The exterior of the museum is also beautiful, with an even lovelier view outside.
Service here was top-notch. Every single employee I came across here was friendly and helpful. Willing to talk, or leave you alone, depending on which you want. The security guard saw me circling around a couple of times, and had a short conversation with me to recommend what he thought was the best part of the museum, the ornate chess set collection, and I'm happy he told me about it.
The Maryhill Museum of Art was an excellent deal. Prices for admission are surprisingly cheap! They also have a small gift shop that barely looked like a store, but at least had some knick-knacks and other art-related things that you can buy at reasonable prices. I was happy to provide them with a donation and I hope people will keep doing so for them to keep running, as it's an excellent and enriching service.

I went without knowing what to expect. Every time i tell someone about this visit they seem surprised by the array of exhibit topics. When i went they included queen marie of Romania, the museum itself and its founder Sam Hill (buried on the property but the headstone is not quite easily accessible or well marked), théâtre de la mode, native American objects (disappointed that there wasn't any local native history included), chess sets, and a collection of glass. There's also a very limited sculpture garden. There's also a full size and complete replica of Stonehenge on a fully separate area of the property.
Nick Havens — Google review
All staff were following Covid safety procedures, we and everyone we saw were wearing mask.
This place was very unusual collection of art. The Sam Hill video is a must at the very start so you will understand the whole vibe around this place. A wide gambit of art pieces & history. Like they collected stuff from around the world then dropped it into one place.
Don't miss the hundreds of custom chess pieces in the lower area. The fact this place was to be a home was not surprising due to the rich story of Sam Hill.
The outside art & walking area was very relaxing.
Cafe was closed, but WHO CARES we didn't go there to eat.
We took lots of pictures of the chess sets, because our 26 yr old grandson would love this.
Don't let any negative reviews of this place stop you from checking it out for yourself.
Your family can even picnic here.

Did not expect to see such diversity of collections. Very impressive Native American craft collection and well arranged. Interesting Paris after World War II miniature fashion shows.
The Romania folks costumes are impressive. The chess set collection is fun to see. The ground is dotted with sculptures. We spent most morning there. Very interesting architecture with the host, Sam Hill, wanting to have guests sleep on the top deck to see the stars. This museum inspires.

This was a wonderful museum. I would have loved to access the cafe, it was closed. I didn't see any maps on a wall or stand which would have helped ( the star ⭐ you are here, and where you could go next) we had a hand held map, but other maps to verify would be nice. You can take pictures but no flash photography. More places for fans or AC during the hot weather is needed.

I walked out of this place utterly disgusted and disappointed. The main attraction that I came to see was the native artifacts. What I found was a whole lot of evil secret society symbolism and deception. I didn’t post pictures of the top level because it contained dark occult symbolism that does not need to be shared. This is blasphemy to the natives!

It's been a while since my last visit to the museum. I love the grounds and the building architecture as much as the contents inside. There is so much to experience and see inside with beautiful art, cultural treasures, and history. Writing about everything would occupy a significant amount of time. Suffice it to say that the best way to do Maryhill is simply to visit and experience it for yourself. It is a treasure in so many ways.

This museum is deceptively LARGE... there is so much more here than I expected from the outside. I was impressed with the number of artists and subjects covered as well as the amount of entertaining historical facts available, it was a wonderful, entertaining experience. I mostly visited this time to see the chess set collection. This is one of the best in the US, with approximately 80 sets on display and in excess of 400 in the collection. There were sets that ranged from mid-19th century Ivory to 2020 3D printed sets. They were given their own gallery in 2019. The Museum is worth the $12 admission just for the chess sets.
In addition to the chess sets, the museum has galleries devoted to items from pre-communist Romania donated directly to the museum by the royal family and a Native American gallery.

The setting for this museum is amazing high on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River with great Mt. Hood views. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor areas with the sculptures and interpretive area. I wish the cafe were open on our visit as it would have been great to hang out on the lower terrace with refreshments.
Basic gaming floor with slots, poker & table games, also offering a buffet, deli & espresso bar.
A very enjoyable dry casino. Went here for my mother’s birthday, and the blackjack dealer was very friendly and helpful to her, which meant a lot. Same with the roulette dealer the day before. The games are pretty entertaining, with the large majority being slots, but there are some tables to choose from in the middle. The casino smells very clean, and if you are a smoker there is a designated smoking area outside on a balcony. Free sodas of course, and there are a couple food stands and a pretty good buffet to eat at.
Tyler Sampson — Google review
Well I have to agree that you don't have a good time and it's just a good idea to remember that people who are coming in to gamble or to play the slots are not really good for the money you spend.
I hope this helps you find your best plan to making sure that you're guests will not become discouraged by your way of doing business.
You should have a smoking section and a non-smoking
section designated for your guests.
And I believe if you had waitresses to bring water or coffee or sodas so it doesn't interfere with the guests from having to leave a good card table, or having to wait until they lose money on the slot machines.
I will drive to Oregon for a while (overnight). Just to be treated like a winner.
The cost for a room is nothing if your having a good time and you have accommodation.
Drinks, non-smoking and smoking.
And of course you can play cards or slot games without any hassle of getting up to leave for whatever reason.
Karen Wright — Google review
I had not been in since before the remodel and addition of the hotel. Very nice job on that. It was really dark in there which made it a little creepy. The slot machines were very fun. Our favorite was this one with a little devil on it. My husband and I decided to do the seafood buffet. The prime rib was raw. However one employee noticed it and grilled some up but put it right on the contaminated cutting board right next to the raw prime rib. But the rest of the food we had was good. We probably won’t do the buffet again but will try something different there. Security was doing a great job. Couldn’t find where to go get a soda otherwise we may have stayed longer. Overall we had fun.

2nd time coming here, first time was great! This time was a little bit different. The room looks clean but it was very dusty all over. Even the sheets and pillows...never seen a bed with only 3 pillows. Glad it's only one night. So it's okay to stay overnight especially if you're going cherry picking and fruit shopping. It's close to everything.
adonis romotap — Google review
It's much improved. Once so much smoke it was nearly intolerable, and I'm not a smokers snob, but it was bad. It was nice in that respect now, but the slots were super tight, and it is still a dry casino in case you'd like a beer or a beverage. The concert was entertaining, good seats and affordable so no complaints there (we went to see Collective Soul). Also and oddly, they do not "open" the casino until 8 a.m. Not knowing my wife and I went down about 7:15 to play some before we departed and we were intercepted by the security guard who was polite. We're thinking "you all don't want MORE of our money"? LOL We went back to our room and packed up and played on our way out around 830 and as luck would have it recovered about 70% of our slaying from the prior night. haha

No one in there for the 2 hours I was downstairs. had I know than I wouldn’t have stayed (ruined my kids trip) to top it off I get masks but don’t tell me to pull it up while I am drinking my overly priced coffee. Also would not give extra towels…. Checked out early and won’t be back.

First the rooms.....not bad but beds were a bit too hard for my back. Fridge worked well. Water pressure was good although showerhead was not removable. Now the casino.....when the ATM line is long and the ticket redemption line is non existent....you have a problem. This place is extra tight and if you are playing to win think again because it's not happening here.

Machines were tight. Dropped a lot of $$$ with no pushes, bonuses and no features. Was a disappointment for sure. Maybe my luck was off. Seemed like a nice place at the casino. The town near by was kinda sketchy but where isn't these days. I hope the next visit here will be a bit more rewarding.

The worse experience!!
- told my daughter we checked out 2 days ago
- she was under the influence of alcohol and needed a bathroom and used it where the housekeeper was cleaning up.
- supervisor refused to solve any issues and still claimed we checked out. Meanwhile my mother was standing in front of him and refused to hear her.
- supervisor Steve/Steven did not acknowledge what we had to say and he was always right.
-he barred my daughter and claimed she had a fake name - her father was in the hotel list with the same last name. He failed to check it out. He called the police and had her arrested - still claimed we checked out!!! Failed to check our names. Thank goodness my brother told me she was going to be arrested.
- he was rude mannered and felt as if we owed him an apology
- my daughter left her phone and wallet in her uncles car. She claimed she had to sleep outside.
She walked to the gas station hoping to run into a family member. Because Steve/Steven would not take the time to acknowledge she needed to get a hold of one of us at the hotel.
-she was upset - became argumentative and I do not blame her whatsoever.
-Our room was overlooked twice and I had to let front desk know and they claimed they will get someone in to clean it.
- on the second day of no one cleaned the room. I asked to moved into a clean room. I did let them know my husband could not walk far and the room was further down.
- the bell person stated they should have placed us closer. At least she understood.
- the General manager was not in on Monday morning to deal with this issues.
- Spoke with someone else. He listened but we will see how they handled this matter.
- Our family was here for a memorial for my brother and sister!!! This situation added more stress of the lack of cleansing or felt as we had to be watched at all times.
-some of the staff were not friendly - and messed up the names for the guest in the rooms.
- I am upset how my family has been treated with the worsted hotel experience. I would have expected this from non-Native people(First Nations). But when it is Native American run business I would have expected better.
This was one of the worst experiences my family went through. It did not matter how many times I called in to clean the room or order towels. We were ignored. It was bad enough to go to housekeeping to get clean towels. I even offered to vacuum the carpets.
As for the supervisor Steve/Steven. I heard there was many complaints against him. He was rude and ignorant employee that will cost the hotel business.
For a Native American hotel - I felt I was not treated equal and I am a Native American Indian.
Will this matter get solved?! The ball is in their court.
Q: if this was your experienced what I went through - would you be upset? This is for the General Manager and the owner of the hotel.
Signed by - unhappy customer/stressful
If I could give a “0” rating - that is my rating.

The casino is great, a couple drawbacks are, there are no lounges or any place to get an alcoholic beverage here. I’m pretty sure alcohol is prohibited on the property. :( The coffee shop is awesome though! Great service there and great drinks! The breakfast buffet was also really good. I wish there was more for kids to do instead of just swimming. If they had a movie theater, bowling, or an arcade, that would bring fun for the whole family!! The hotel rooms are really nice except for the bed and pillows. The bed was stiff and not comfortable for us at all. The pillows weren’t very good either, we all woke up really sore. After checking in, we went to our room and there was a “do not disturb” card on the door, and our key wouldn’t open it. They accidentally sent us to an occupied room. We went back downstairs and they quickly fixed it. Overall it was a good trip.

Had a great time at Legends casino. The suite we had was awesome, clean and very roomy. Was there with my 2 daughters and having 2 bathrooms and 3 sinks was such a treat. No crowding around the mirror at all. Non smoking casino was also wonderful.

I advised management players being suspicious of team play and possible dealers in poker room aren't playing straight. They need a shuffle machine. Many hands and plays observed over the weekend raised RED FLAGS. Several traveling players are now suspicious of these activities and will put the word out. Beware of thieves at this location.
General attitude of employees working here seem very moody and rude.
General food and restaurant quality in comparison to most casinos of this size , rate it a 2.0
This casino needs to upgrade its food quality and train there people to be more friendly and customer service oriented.
Only 2 dealers at the tables (non poker ) were super friendly
And 1 security lady was very nice.
Everyone else needs to be brought up to new standards.
At this time I can't recommend this location. Save your money and play where you're business is appreciated and the management takes your concerns seriously.

Beautiful view, no microwave in room, and for the price you pay for the room there should be coffee cream and sugar so you don't have to leave room first thing in the morning to get it, we were given 2 coffee pods ,2 tiny power creamer and 2 tiny sugar, not even enough to make 1 cup of coffee and there were 4 people in the room! Couldn't warm baby bottle either due to no microwave. Also do not ingest the tap water, I had to run a sink full of hot water to warm baby bottle and the sink was full of black stuff that came out of the tap! GROSS!! I did like the location and view though!! Rooms were pretty clean.

Would give 5 stars but they do NOT SERVE ALCOHOL! Be warned. Their advertisements fail to mention that. I found out when I got there. Other then that the service was fine rooms were decent. Food was decent as well.

I live in Las Vegas, so it's not fair to compare. But the casino floor was not very inviting, and it was hard to maneuver around the machines. My wife had fun on one of the machines, but she normally plays video poker, and there isn't any, on the floor. Even the best Casinos in Vegas have kept them around because so many guests love them.
But the restrooms were clean and the machines were clean, but we were early in the day. But no cleaning folks around wiping machines off. Vegas is never without a team cleaning machines off with disinfectant. But it's in a small reservation, so it's probably good enough for the locals there to get their gambling bug fixed.

I had a pretty good time... I enjoy playing the slots as long as I am winning or at the very least stretching out my funds to play longer... An awesome quality of the Legends Casino is a "non smoking" policy on the premise... Makes having fun add up to staying longer... There is a variety of cool and progressive slot machines... It's awesome to take a break once in awhile and let my hair down... Had a great time made a little cash and went home smiling and relaxed.

Easy parking, right off the hwy, and very vary clean casino. Very friendly staff and the fact it was dry makes so you don't have a bunch of drunk angry gamblers walking around. Just wish they were dog friendly.

The room was very nice and clean. However the service was mid tier. The front desk lady was not very kind. When I first checked in she was asking me to pay which I was confused about because I thought I had paid online I was only asking clarifying questions- I wasn’t being rude. She was being very rude and unhelpful. I called the front desk to ask for extra blankets because me and the person I was staying with were freezing and I had already turned up the heat. I was told housekeeping had left and they weren’t able to help me. I really thought this was ridiculous. I know how hotels run and they could have walked their happy butt to a housekeeping closet and grabbed a few blankets for us! I spent a good 1,000$ here at this casino this trip. Disappointed as far as that goes. The seafood boil in the food court here is good though, so is the buffet. Other than being freezing at night and a rude receptionist my first night, my stay has been pleasant.

The show we attended was great and rooms were great. However HUGE disclaimer. This is not only the only non-alcoholic casino I've ever been to, they don't even want it on the property and will take it from you.
I get it, if you don't want to sell it, but to literally steal the fruits of one's labor and do it in the most authoritarian way is a huge red flag.

I like the layout and the atmosphere. I like the selection of games and number of machines. I don't like that half of the machines (the older push button kind, that I happen to prefer) don't work properly. The buttons don't respond when you push them and it's difficult to select a bet. And the other half of the machines (the new digital play panel) have such a high minimum bet that after factoring in the distance out of my way I have to travel to get there, it's almost not worth the time and frustration if I only plan on stopping for a few minutes and playing a little bit when passing through.

I love legends casino hotel not just to play the slot machines. and But I also love their food. and I usually order their bacon cheeseburger with tartar sauce. and It is really good. and I also get a coffee there. and That is also very tasty. and Also it is really good. and Most of the drinks are free like soda and coffee and water at the machines. and If you are new there you can get a legends casino card to earn points which turns into cash I often go here. and I'm always very satisfied with there service. and I also like the fact if you accidentally lose your legends casino card they will replace it for you.

On checking in we received a wonderful room very spacious and very clean. The staff was cordial. We had a good time and had a wonderful dinner at the seafood buffet. The staff was very attentive to make sure that our dirty dishes were cleared and that we had plenty to drink. The food was fabulous, even though later in the evening, the crab legs were supreme! The gaming experience was good. Upon checking out the next morning and getting an hour away I realized I had left my Kindle in the room. I called the hotel and the housekeeping staff was able to retrieve it for me. We drove back to pick it up and it was right there with no issues. We would definitely stay here again.

14 Hands has consistently delivered high quality, excellent value WA red wine blends for many years. The 2019 Juicy Red is another great example. Syrah based, it serves up complex, well balanced blueberry, dark cherry, black current, mocha and spices. We enjoyed ours during a delicious roast beef dinner. Still youthful for about an hour, it smoothed out nicely for sipping after dinner.

This place is amazing! I read a comment that said the wines are totally different than what is in the store and that is 100percent true. Great wines at a great price. The white cabernet is divine and the charcuterie board has the best cheese I've had in years.

We continue to enjoy going to 14 Hands each time we visit our family in the Tri-Cities so that we may select a few more bottles to bring back home to Napa where we live— we especially love their Cabernet Sauvignon! What we like is that 14 Hands offers a good selection of reasonably priced wines. We also really enjoy the wine tasting experience because 14 Hands has a very nice tasting room, a pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and a large and welcoming patio area— we recommend ordering the cheese plate, which we have found to nicely complement our wine tastings!

Went here for a wine tasting and they were so awesome and so nice that we ended up joining their wine club which has no membership fee. As a result our complete wine tasting was free and the bottle the prices of the bottles of wine were greatly reduced. It's a very nice wine tasting room with a big large outdoor area that wraps all the way around. Besides the tasting room in large outdoor patio area, they have some interesting vintage barnwood displays, an art gallery, and a little store. Employee Cassandra took great care of us and told us so much history of the winery and their different grapes and vintages. We had such a fun time, highly recommend.

We stopped by this lovely tasting room while on a road trip in July 2022, as a respite from driving in the 100°+ heat.
It was a very pleasant experience. The atmosphere of the tasting room is very nice, our tasting guide was wonderful and we enjoyed some unique reserve wines that the winery does not distribute very widely in liquor stores. So, of course, we ended up buying a few bottles. Highly recommended!

Nice park. Pretty clean and well taken care of. Plenty of big trees, a splash pad for children, a playground, water access for swimming, kayaking and even boating, jet-skiing, etc. Access to various cruise ships and other water vessels and the like from several docks. Nice walking/bike paths. Benches and bench-swings, plus a concession stand and Hawaiian Ice. A few suspicious, possibly homeless, possibly substance abuse type people but they didn’t bother us. Overall we had a pleasant time this day and when we visited before. Would go back again.

A great park any time of year. And it’s only 3-4 min drive from the hospital, so it’s great if you have a wait. There is also a gallery/gift shop right next to it.
It has tennis courts, awesome playgrounds (one for 5-12 year olds, one for 2-5 year olds), all of the park benches are swinging benches, a boulder/rock climbing area), a music area with mallet percussion, a water front walking path, and a amphitheater. Beautiful views throughout. You can easily spend 30 minutes or many many hours there. Lots of tress for shade. It even had an AED on site for emergencies! I think there is also a concession stand, perhaps open during summer months. It’s also next door to the community center.
Park seems clean and well maintained.

This was one of the park we went to on our first visit to Tricities and instantly fell in love with the area because of it.
The park has a really neat playground for the children and cool swing benches you can sit on while enjoying the beautiful view of the Columbia river. We took our kids here one evening last summer and there were lots of kids at the playground laughing, screaming and running around. Now that may turn some people off, but I absolutely loved it. We live in a small town with a very tiny playground and barely see any kids play in it, so to see that many children playing in this park gave me so much joy. Even after dark there were still tons of people hanging around at the park and children playing at the playground. I didnt want to leave but the mosquitoes chased us away. 😅🤣
Pictures attached were from our last visit to Tricities before we move out of state this coming summer.

Pendleton Underground Tours offers a walking tour that delves into the city's intriguing history, including its shady past involving gamblers, opium dens, and Chinese laborers. The tour explores underground tunnels where Chinese laborers lived while working on regional railroad operations and where illicit businesses like brothels and speakeasies operated with hidden escape tunnels. This unique experience provides insight into Pendleton's captivating past and is a must-do activity in town for those interested in local history.
I've heard people talk about this underground tour and wanted to check it out.
This tour did not disappoint! The history is AMAZING and simply fascinating!
Becky (I think was her name) was our tour guide. She was fabulous! She has a stellar personality and made the tour fun and informative.

The tour guide, Matt Ramirez, was so knowledgeable and entertaining; that place is historical beyond belief.
The historical value of this endeavor is priceless and I commend the Non Profit for this undertaking in doing their part to preserve the history of this area.
The tour itself was fascinating seeing how people were forced to live and how they, as a people, overcame their obstacles.
I'm not proud of the facts this history represents, but it is vital we keep things like this alive, so future generations can learn from it.
It truly is remarkable and a MUST SEE whether you are local and have never been, or just passing through.
There is also a quaint gift shop and the young lady working there was delightful and I found several must haves to take home with me.

This was a neat thing to do while passing through. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was interesting going through the rooms and learning about a shady part of history. So why 4 stars? First, our guide was great, he explained things as we walked through each room. The price was a little high but in todays day and age it was worth it, especially seeing our guide pointed out other local free attractions and let us know if we showed our tickets where we could get discounts. The 3 issues to bring it down a star, first, way to many people on the tour, you are in tight little rooms down underground with no air flow, put that with a big (about 14 people) group it gets hard to breath, plus mid tour 2 people left early because they felt ill, again they where crammed in tiny rooms with us for the last 45 minutes, the second issue is the bathroom situation, they encourage you to drink water as some rooms can be very warm, but for the 1 1/2 hour tour there is no bathrooms, and the third, doing the tour is not easy, your going down stairs, then up stairs, then back down and up and down and up, and the flooring in almost every room is uneven and you have to watch your footing, if you have any difficulties with stairs, or walking in general pass up on this tour. It was interesting and overall a good time and the guide was great, I would recommend doing it if you can get in with a smaller crowd.
Known for wool apparel & blankets, this chain also sells non-wool clothing, decor items & linens.
Such a cute city with lots of shops and an interesting history. The underground tours are very informative. The Tamastslikt cultural institute, just outside of the main streets of Pendleton, gives you a different perspective on the indigenous Americans and how these last 200 years have affected them. I would also absolutely recommend stopping by the Pendleton woolen Mills for wonderfully crafted wool sweaters/ blankets.

Pointing out sales and explaining pricing. Extremely high prices, I could not find a single product made in USA. Everything in the store is made in China. We stopped o. Our way home from our PNW road trip, purely because we knew my mother-in-law would get a kick out of it. She loves Pendleton! We walked through the store. Found a few fun things for my mom-in-law. The bathrooms were clean. The store was well organized and clean. There were no tour's happeing that day but we could see into the mill through glass doors. Was fun to see the wool and threads stacked up and a blanket being wooven. (I thinks thats what it was anyways.) The staff were friendly and helpful!

Great way to cool down on a hot day. My kids absolutely loved the park. Admission fee was reasonably priced. Felt safe with all the life guards that are constantly on duty. Outside food is allowed but there is also a place that sells food their as well. We got a chocolate/vanilla swirl ice cream cone and some authentic tacos but there is a lot more to choose from. Wonderful little gem, not crazy like wild waves, or packed like slide waters. This has a limited amount of slides but if you have little kids or younger than 10, you'll be set. Small enough to keep your eyes on all the kids, but not too small.

Well maintained water park only a 20 min drive from our campground. Plenty of parking and plenty of chairs and picnic tables. Although you can bring your own food/drinks and snacks there's a hamburger/tacos and ice-cream stand. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. There's an indoor community shower with soap but be aware before you decide to shower your kiddos the water is really hot and you have to keep pushing for more every minute. I guess is only to rinse yourself but used it in between playing in the pool to warm me up lol! Kids under 2 are free and between 2 to 5 are $8 The rest is $16. You can reentry with outside food anytime. There's a grass area where you can put a blanket or your own chairs or tent if you decid to bring them. Bring your own towels or by some at their shop which also sells sunglasses and other waters accessories.

There are 3 water slides for the big kids and adults there are 2 diving boards high and low dive, there is a kiddie area and a baby splash area that has spray jets that come out of the ground, there is the surfing area that is a big hit for sure, a lazy river it is not a big lazy river but it does the job as long as you don't get dumped on by the water buckets the is a sand playground and a lot of shade in the grass area's. The cool thing is you can bring in food and a shade tent and stay all day. They do have a food stand and a small shop to buy things you may have forgotten. We buy the season pass because it is worth it for us if we go 3 times the pass is paid for. Parking can be tricky once in awhile but not to bad. There are a lot of lifeguards and they do their job well and are pretty polite as long as you follow the rules. I JUST WISH THEY STAYED OPEN LONGER SO I COULD FO AFTER WORK ON WEEKDAYS!

We drive from spokane to join all our friends here about 30 minutes before the park was set to close my son was on diving board waiting for the other jumper to clear the water, Corbin a life guard was very disrespectful to my son and making comments about me to my son about him not having a mom or even his mom being dead because my son wouldn't jump when Corbin told him too and then proceeds to stop my 6 yr old daughter and tell her she needs to leave the park and not come back ever again. I'm pretty disappointed and will probably never return to the park. Nobody spends that kind of money to have a horrible experience, nor should a grown adult have a job being a lifeguard working around a bunch of children and saying that nasty stuff to them.

It's a great family water park. Slides for every age. Water stream tubing. Water spirts..statues for little ones. Shallow and deep end pools. Surfing water area. 4 and under free. You can bring in your own food. They sell food there as well. Hamburgs, nachos, carne asada fries and tacos. Great ice cream cones. Alot of shading.

Great family fun! Awesome spot to go with family, clean, water is always perfect. It has a lazy River, large swimming areas, diving boards, surf stimulator, shallow pool section for young children, sand box with toys, 2 sand volleyball courts, great slides. Bring your own food cooler but if you don’t no worries there’s vendor options. It’s a safe place for all ages.

Love this place, my kids also loved it. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. Awesome they allow you to take your own chairs & food in.

It was nice, the soda is super expensive, but you can bring your own food in which is good and something I would recommend. It was pretty packed(being the height of summer and all) but I didnt stand in line for anything longer then 5-7 minutes. I especially like the lazy river, it's very relaxing. Plenty of sunny and shady spots to hang out, and tables to set up at to eat. The lifeguards seem to really be on top of things as well, respectfully reminding the kids of the rules and such. All and all a nice little break from the summer heat!

My family and I have been going here for years. If you've never been it's really an amazing place to go to enjoy a nice hot day away from the city. You pay once to get in, and you get an all-day stamp. You can bring in a cooler with food things you want to cook right there because they have BBQ grills available, just bring your own coal. People are super friendly and literally you can spend an entire day here.

What a wonderful place for a swim and recreational activities!! Convenient to Moses Lake, this place is fun, spacious and relaxing!!! The wade pool is remarkable!!
We lucked out on our time at Waterbrook. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time on their patio. We felt like the waitstaff were excellent all around. My wife and I came mostly for the food, but our wine was great too. I had their Chardonnay (I can’t remember what my wife had, but she liked it enough to get a bottle to go!) with their cheese and bacon sandwiches. We got a side of onion rings, which was good too but a bit much. I guess we were hungry!

Wine was good, the charcuterie boards were wonderful. Our server outside was fantastic. However, the long hair gal on Saturday, May 21 working the tasting room approximately 12:20 pm greeting people at the door was atrocious. We were a bridal party- on a chauffeured wine tour- and she snapped at us because we stated a last name for the reservation- and when we stated we were with a tour company, her response was “well that’s what you should have said.” When our chauffeur came out to tell us it was time to Leave for the next stop- we went inside to pay our bill- as our server was very busy taking care of multiple parties- the same gal flipped us attitude- and said “You all need to show patience, your server is busy.” Not sure what this gal’s role actually is- but she needs to be upgraded to “unemployed.”

We made an impromptu stop here because it’s the only winery in Walla Walla that has a full-service kitchen. Boy, were we delighted! We should have made a reservation, but they were kind enough to make it work so we could grab lunch.
The food was incredible, the wine was perfect, but the best part about it was the service. B (Bethany), the tasting room assistant manager, treated us like royalty and took care of everything we could possibly need. She checked on us often enough, but not too often, accommodated our 3 year old and was super positive and thoughtful. The rest of the staff were very kind, as well.
Overall, a 10 out of 10 experience and we will absolutely be back to Waterbrook again and again. Can’t wait for the summer when their gorgeous patio (which overlooks an incredible sunset) is warm enough to utilize. We love Waterbrook!

Beautiful location, attentive staff, delicious food, and excellent wine! We began with a charcuterie board with excellent cheeses, fruit, bread, and meats. So beautifully presented. Caprese salad in a generous serving, Ziti Sugo alla Bolognese, followed by Klickers Marionberry Cheesecake, New York style. And red and white wines paired with each course. Absolutely delicious!

Took my parents here for breakfast and wine tour and it was amazing. The area is nice, the food was great, and the wine was amazing. My wife and I got the mimosa flight thinking we would get a few small mimosas, but ended up splitting a full bottle of champagne and had 3 different juices to choose from that were all great. Everyone really enjoyed their food as well!

I had a great experience here. The wine was great and I really appreciate the recommendations the staff was able to give. Sky was a great server and so was the woman who gave me a sample of her favorites of the purple sticky note. One of the wines of the flight was not my favorite so she brought me a different red instead. This place was gorgeous and had a nice path to walk, a bridge and fire pits. I will definitely be back! Thanks so much!

We went to Waterbrook on a group tour with 25 people. The Events Manager, Bryce, was great to work with and actually waited on our group onsite. We had a private area on the patio with a beautiful setup. Bryce was very knowledgeable with the wines and answered all our questions. They brought out charcuterie boards that were amazing! The lemon cheese was my favorite! The winery dog was super cute and we enjoyed watching him dive for frogs. Our entire group loved the experience and wine!

Tasting experience was great here. There are a number of flights you can choose from, and all the dishes we ordered tasted excellent to be paired with the wine. There’s seating options indoors and outside.

My husband + I came over memorial weekend w our two kids. Biggest bummer was that their fryer was broken and they didn’t seem to be staffed enough to be serving the patio and running the inside. But we had made a reservation online the night before and it automatically blocked out 2 hrs on my calendar and we were in fact there for two hours, so I can’t complain. If you’re looking to be in and out, this may not be the place for you. My husband and I got a flight and we all ordered food. Everything was good and the staff were very friendly, even w us having two younger kids. My 5yo was really into the pond and lawn games, which was mainly why we came. Really pretty place and it worked out well for us.

Darren was great host to us, kindness and information! Beautiful property if you only have half a day, come to this one with restaurant and tasting all in gorgeous room. Our teenage kids had a nice time too. We ordered Chef's Board $16 and a flight of wine to share . See the wine menu attached.
This scenic, 150-acre natural monument is known for panoramic views from its 3,612-ft. butte.
Beautiful park with beautiful views. We were able to identify at least 15 different flower species on one small part of the hill. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! Also, it’s wheelchair accessible. So it’s a lovely place to get into nature if you have limited mobility.
Lastly, there is a bathroom at the top of the hill if you need it!

The view is breathtaking from the top, but there is only a small parking area and a restroom at the top. It's kind of a scary ride as the narrow road winds it's up the side of the butte. There is very nice, small picnic area at the bottom of the butte. We were surprised to see a badger wandering down the road. It ignored us.

Beautiful scenic drive leading up to the peak! Unfortunately it was super overcast and cloudy on the day that I went, still enjoyable I recommend driving out there and taking a look ! There are outhouses all along the way

For the longest time I wanted to come here, but never had time when in the general area. This time I did visit and I'm glad I did. The views from the top all around are pretty amazing. Also rather interesting geologically as Steptoe Butte predates the Columbia flood basalts. Access is by a narrow paved road that, apart from some nasty potholes, was adequate.

This is a must visit if you are in Eastern Washington during late spring/early summer. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Discover pass is required, else you pay $10 entry fee. The drive to the top takes roughly about 10-12 mins. There are multiple potholes and there are areas where there is no guard railings on the sides. The drive is not tough but can be a little challenging if you are scared of heights. But the views from the top makes everything worth it.

Amazing yet scary drive to the top. Views are spectacular as you go up the road. End of summer and the hills are a golden brown color. Lil hazy but you can still see quite far.

You can see long distance view from top of this place, I came here with an expectation to see full lust of green fields, but not fully green but still an awesome view. It was lightning and thunder when we went to top, enjoyed the cloud covers and slight drizzle, worth coming back in a different season. Roads are very narrow to go the top, at the entrance of the park, you have few car parking and rest room

I'm so thankful this place exists for the local wildlife and the remnant Palouse Prairie ecosystem. I was sad to not find walking trails to better observe the spring flowers. There are no guardrails on the road and it is narrow, not well maintained, and truthfully a bit scary to drive on. The view is insane from the top!

Be careful on the spiral winding road up and down as it’s a bit narrow and two-way traffic, but the views from the top are worth it. There’s plenty of parking on two levels. There’s some fun and interesting info boards at the top. 360 degree views. Even during the Smokey time when there were fires from crop burns and excessive heat and dry conditions, the views were expansive.

The trip up is a tiny bit precarious but not super bad. The view from the top is amazing though. There aren't many places I've seen that allow you to see such a far distance. The patches of flowers and shadows cast by the clouds are awesome to witness.

Best place to catch the sun rise or the sun set! We got a clear evening so we could see for miles! The Palouse hills in the distance did not disappoint! We went during the week so not crowded at all. The sign says it’s open from dusk to Dawn. You do need the discover pass or a day pass. $10 or buy the discover pass online and it’s good for all state parks in Washington and you’ll have it on your phone. Believe the park pass is $35 for the year.
The road to get up is almost one vehicle at some spots. Two medium to small cars can easily fit going opposite ways. No railing till you get to the very top. So just drive cautiously if you’re not used to driving up a steep hill. Also there are plenty of pot holes so be aware of the road conditions so you don’t damage your vehicle or tires! Bring your lunch or dinner packed with some drinks and come enjoy the view up top with your friends or loved ones. So worth it! Also, there are some picnic tables and a restroom at the bottom/start of the road out. Be aware of deer as well. We saw a couple going up in the evening. So if you’re still reading this, think no more. It’s worth the trip to catch the amazing views from above! Enjoy!

A must go on your bucket list. I’ve been to many farm lands in many countries . I think the area has the most beautiful countryside in the world. It beats English Yorkshire Dale, French champagne vineyards, Alsatian wine road, and Rhein river valley. Tuscany county country side is 1% of this.

Stunning and unbelievably beautiful
There is an old and not very well-maintained but scenic road that takes you to the top of the butte.
The scenery is amazing
