Nice trails a bit crowded still beautiful

Awesome place. No words to explain the beauty of this place. My best suggestion for you would be go for trek first to the mosquito Chappel place. It’s a good 3hr trek 2 ways. Later be there in pictured rocks by evening and don’t forget to pre book your seats on sunset cruise. There is a place to enjoy the sunset (I have not explored this option but some people were watching sunset from the rocks). Take some water and light snacks along. There are lot of mosquitos in the forest and you will get irritated while trekking. Hat, long sleeves and pants are recommended.

Heaven on Earth. Beautiful rock structures and if you visit during fall - Up North looks mesmerizing. Kayaking is the way you can see all different rocks. You don't have to be kayaker for this. Saying that definitely you are provided training when you register for any kayaking tour available. We had rented cabin along the shore and it was great time. Would definitely visit again :)
Pratima Gadhave — Google review
This was my first time visiting pictured rocks and I was disappointed that our cruise cancelled because of the weather. We weren’t able to reschedule because of our itinerary and all the other times sold out. This would be 5-star worthy if you could take in the formation from land AND shore. But with that being said, it was still worthy of a short little walk to get a peek at pictured rocks from a top down view. The winds were high, but it was a beautiful day and the views we could see were pretty amazing. I would definitely recommend trying to see this beautiful formation from the water if at all possible!

I always thought picture rock was only a rock! But its A MASTER PIECE!! GOD CREATED A BEAUTIFUL SHORELINE!!! That many of us take for granted.. I really enjoyed this trip. The best views are obviously from a boat or off A kayak!! Or even the Tour!! If you get the chance to make it here.. you won't be disappointed!!
Steven Bonas — Google review
beautiful! clear water, amazing nature, easy hiking trails. there were so many friendly chipmonks too! we stopped by the caves of the bloody chief and my husband said it was beautiful, though the rocks were too slippery for me to walk on barefoot (he had crocs on). i wish to come back again!
Jess Brewster — Google review
Breathing taking views, Lake Superior offers crystal clear waters but stays pretty chilly year round. There are a few trails to choose from with varying lengths. I love to hike along the rocks on the North country national scenic trail between mosquito falls and chapel rock it’s approximately ~7 miles to do the loop. There is a beach at chapel rock for those wanting to relax and enjoy a beach day! Munising offers kayak tours that take you along the rocks. Best time to go for a tour is June.
Allison Whiteside — Google review
An amazing and beautiful place to visit in the summer. No words to explain this.. Crystal Clear Water. Amazing Experience.. Enjoyed a lot on Sun-Set Cruise.
Add it to the list of places you have to visit in the Upper Peninsula!

One of the Beautiful places I have been in my life !! Awesome cliffs to capture if you are a photography lover . In childhood I have seen this rock pictures in India. Watching them in person and taking nice pictures and videos is a great experience!! If you are a hiking lover you should try hiking on the cliffs and also some kayaking available on the shores of the lake ! We took a ferry from the landing point ! It’s a bit of drive form Detroit crossing the Mackinac bridge ! This place is wonderful for all
Nature overs !!
Miners Castle Point is a scenic spot within the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore peninsula. It offers an aerial view of the surrounding area and is one of the only places where you can see pictured rocks without being on the water. There are two viewing areas, one with a short walk to the upper level and another with a longer, more challenging trail to the lower level. The location also has plenty of trails for hiking and exploration.
Beautiful place, plenty of trails around the area. Would love to be here early morning or at sunset.
Katy Schoen — Google review
Holy cow! What a stunning site. There are several overlooks and a nice trail that goes down to the beach area but be prepared. This place was BUSY when we were there and the trail terrain is moderately difficult depending on your experience and hiking level. Mostly steep hill climb back up from the beach.
Brandi T. — Google review
One of the only spots to see pictured rocks without being on the water. Cool formation and two different viewing areas make this a must stop if you're in the area.
Matthew McHooven — Google review
Beautiful and stunning views! There is a lower overlook and upper overlook. Information center and bathrooms. Lots of parking.
Grace Su Ming — Google review
Such an incredible view! I highly recommend coming here and seeing the ‘painted rocks.’ A short walk for very beautiful scenery! The day we went was cloudy but it was still an amazing time.
Anna Bergan — Google review
Beautiful. Very short walk to the upper viewing area. A little longer grade (down and back up) walk to the lower one. We were so thankful this is available for those who would have trouble making the hikes to some of the other places throughout the park!
Chad D. Baus — Google review
Beautiful views with a short walk. Definitely a must see. We took our 4 year old, it was age appropriate.
Grace VanBelle — Google review
Stunning view! Even more beautiful than expected. We paid $20 for the 7-day pass for our vehicle. I wish we had more time and could have explored more than just the south/west end of the park. While boat is the best way to see the rocks, we loved our views from the many trails in the area.
Anna Delia — Google review
This is a stunning overlook of Miners Castle Point! Beautiful water views, so breathtaking, you’ll never want to leave! An easy walk to both the upper and lower decks! This is a must stop on your way to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore…be sure not to skip over this one!
Heather H — Google review
Nice trails and amazing views
Michael Gutho — Google review
Even on a cold windy day it's beautiful to see Pictured Rocks. There is an upper platform and another viewing area down some steps and a long long winding ramp with some more steps up to the platform. Easier to get down than back up. But if you're able it's worth it to see close up.
Roberta Peek — Google review
Gorgeous spot. Amazing view. Worth the trip
Robert Mahorney — Google review
This is always one of my favorite spots to visit every single time we are in this area. Even when I have seen it, quite a few times, it's still always worth the visit. There is an easy, flat surface that takes you to the first overlook. You can get a beautiful view of Miner's Castle. If you walk towards the lower overlook, there is a few more spots where you can get some views, but they are slightly obstructed by trees and overgrowth. The lower overlook is down a fairly steep hill. Going down is easy, going back up can take some time if you aren't used to it. From the lower overlook you can see Pictured Rocks and Bridal Veil Falls.
This is also a great spot to stop and have a picnic! There are tables, and little grill areas all over in this area. So stop and enjoy the view and have a snack!
There is a bathroom here as well, but during Covid it has been closed. There are some outhouses there that are still open though.
Jessica “SnowDogs” Hatch — Google review
Beautiful views of Lake Superior and a glimpse of the famous Pictured Rocks! Very quick little hike to the lower view platform, or just stay up at the top.

Miners Falls is a 60-foot waterfall located in the Munising area of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. It can be viewed from two overlooks and is a short hiking trail away from Miners Castle Road. The waterfall is lovely, with quick views of the rushing water tumbling down the cliffside. It's also good for pets, as leashed dogs are allowed on the trails between the overlooks.
Falls are awesome! 64 steps at the end of the trail for the best view. The one on top has an obstructed view. Trail felt longer than posted. Hilly area. Trail goes up and down but not steep.
David Meske — Google review
This is a nice trail to get back here, but remember, there are stairs that you have to go down and back up, so keep that in mind. I would give this place a 5 stars, but sadly people are beginning to ruin the area. There were people standing on the rocks in the middle of the falls at the top. It was terrifying to see! Lots of people do jump the barriers to go down and get a better view, so there is a lot of erosion happening now. BUT this is still a beautiful waterfall!
Jessica ?SnowDogs? Hatch — Google review
Little bit steep and some stairs to go down and back up but the trail is good and well maintained. The official overlook can get a bit crowded as it's not very large so you might need to wait your turn to get a good view of the falls. We didn't venture down the unofficial path to get right down.
1000gadegirl — Google review
Nice waterfall! It requires a little bit of a hike, but well worth it! It's 0.6 miles from the parking area down to the falls.... some of it is trail and the very last part is stairs. Bring walking sticks! There is a small platform at the bottom to view the falls.
Jason McDonald — Google review
Hands down the best waterfall in the park, especially since we came at the end of summer, and it was still flowing strong. Only 0.6 miles from the parking lot and accessible by a flat, straight path. There are quite a bit of stairs at the end to get the best viewpoint of the falls, though.
brandon dengler — Google review
About 10 miles outside Munising, easy to get to and easy to hike into.
The trail through the forest is beautiful too.
If it's not crowded and your up to a steep climb you can actually hike down too the base of the falls.
Definitely a must see if you pass through Munising while in the UP.
Hunter's Holdfast — Google review
Short but sweet hike. If you’re willing to hike beyond the look out point, you’ll get some very satisfying views and alone time with the falls. Be careful and make sure you have some good boots on as it’s quite steep.
Kate — Google review
What a beautiful area. We hiked the .6 miles to the falls. The trail is wide and has several benches along the way. Falls are beautiful. View from the lower level was amazing.
Mary Jane Swift — Google review
Nestled in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a beautiful cascade; Miners Falls. The trail is along the way to Miners Castle beach and lookout. After parking in the small lot you will walk 0.6 miles to a set of stairs that has multiple points to watch the beautiful running water. The water plunges 40 feet along the Miner River. I believe this is an excellent addition to a visit to Pictured Rocks NL. This waterfall is located near the west end of Pictured Rocks by Munising, Michigan.
Richard Grant — Google review
The walk to the falls is a beautiful one. Its about .6 miles one way. We did it with a 4 and 2 year old while I'm 28 weeks pregnant lol. Love how easy the trail was and the falls are gorgeous.
Alexandria — Google review
Nice scenic falls after a 0.6 mile walk. Well worth the short trek.
In the spring the falls are much more boisterous and enjoyable. May and June are great months.
Lots of parking and there are outdoor restrooms.
Hayden Jones — Google review
One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area. A decent little hike in for small children, but easy for adults and teenagers. Really a majestic place in nature and a must see in the area.
Chris VB — Google review
Definitely worth the short hike to the waterfall. The trail is easy to hike unless you decide to go past the overlook down to the actual waterfall, at which point you’re kind of descending down a steep slippery rock slope.
Lauren R — Google review
I have been here both in the fall and winter. Both times it was very beautiful! A very clean and easy-to-walk flat trail goes about a mile and then you are right there at the overlook! Stunning in fall, very dangerous making the walk from the overlook to the waterfall itself so be careful. The stairs were filled with pure ice and studded cleats did not quite do it. I recommend more advanced ice climbing gear if you want to venture up to the fall when it is frozen.
Munising Falls is a cascading waterfall situated within the town of Munising that can be accessed without needing a park pass. The falls are surrounded by lush forests, and there is a viewing platform along a sandstone canyon that offers breathtaking views. To reach the falls, visitors need to walk about 800-feet on a paved trail and should refrain from walking behind or into the falls as it isn't allowed.
Beautiful area and a nice, easy hike to get to it. The surrounding area was breathtaking. Highly recommend!
Melissa Christensen — Google review
Small waterfall just a couple minutes out of Munising. Nice view from below, and there's an upper view to the right.
Off of the path to the right, at the top of the stairs, is a beaten trail that actually goes up to the top of the falls. No railings or anything up there so I'd be cautious. But it's a nice view down and really quiant spot int he woods by the creek that feeds the falls.
Cam A — Google review
Plenty of parking available with restrooms on-site (restrooms are closed during the off-season). A nice little trail walk along the creek with stairs and a fork splitting between an upper and lower view of the fall. Overall really beautiful. Don't forget to look around at all the nature!
Alexander Messer — Google review
Beautiful waterfall after a short hike. Plenty of parking at the trailhead and bathrooms if needed. It looks like there is an office with information there to. This isn't too far out of town and short walk on fairly level trail. Would highly recommend
Jeremy Dalton — Google review
Very peaceful hike! Went for the first time after being raised in Iron River, MI.
The family loved it and the fall colors with the waterfall were absolutely perfect 👌.
joey Mitchell — Google review
There's a very short walk to the falls and there are multiple viewing platforms. There is a large parking lot here and there is a building with restrooms. The visitor's center is just a trailer with a window for now as it is a temp building while they are preparing a permanent one. The rangers are friendly and you can stamp your national parks passport book here. If you don't have a pass for Pictured Rocks, this should be your first stop in the park.
Thirteendays — Google review
Nice place to visit, very very short walk to see the falls!
Junkai Wang — Google review
It’s a beautiful fall that is extremely easy to get to. Just park and it’s like a quarter mile walk max. Worth stopping for if you are visiting the area.
Jon Lee — Google review
One of my absolute favorite waterfalls in this park. The waterfall, the rocky ledge it flows down from, and the surrounding forest all create some spectacular scenery.
N Duncan — Google review
Awesome waterfall! And it's right at the visitor center. There's not many waterfalls that are this short of a walk and flat and paved the whole way. Especially being that it's less than 1/4 mile and was still flowing at the end of the summer.
brandon dengler — Google review
Located in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park, this waterfall is easily accessible via the trail from the visitor center. The 800 ft trail will take you to a juncture where you can view the waterfall on the lower by a boardwalk or take the stairs to view the upper part of the falls. There is a large parking lot by the visitor center. Keep in mind this is part of the National Park System and you will need to purchase a park pass.
Richard Grant — Google review
This is a short hike that is wheelchair accessible to the lower viewpoint. This was such a nice walk. It is about 800 feet from the visitor center. You can take a trail off the right that goes to an upper viewpoint. It does get crowded on the main part of the trail.
Donna Smith — Google review
Short walk to a very nice waterfall! There is stairs leading to an upper deck and then a lower deck aswell. There was a small crowd of people there even though it was raining. I definitely recommend giving this place a stop!
Anna Bergan — Google review
Short hike from the parking spot and well worth it. There are 2 view points (upper and lower).
Lots of misquotes, do carry a repellant for sure. Really beautiful falls!
This sculpture park is a great place to visit if you're looking for something different. It's full of interesting, whimsical creations by artist Tom Lakenen, and it's free to visit 24/7. There's also ample parking, so you can easily stop by on your way anywhere else in the area.
Lakenenland is a magical place built with love.
Please stop and drive through (at minimum) this awesome and fun for all ages sculpture park. I highly recommend parking and walking though so you have time to appreciate the finer details put into each sculpture. Whether they be of the Rusty Chain Band or one of the touching tributes to friends and family gone but forever loved.
It's all free, all the time. There's a playground and a stocked fishing pond for the kids, fire pits, a beautiful pavilion, a bandstand, a tshirt shop...so much to see and enjoy.
Thank you, Tom, for creating such an amazing and magical place to share with all.

Well, this was pretty much what I expected.
A tourist trap with a bit of a soul.
The sculptures are very impressive and the piece of land is beautiful. It’s certainly worth an hour visits, but it’s also weird. In an endearing way.
Depending on your persuasion, you may want to leave your political agenda at the entry gate. The artist bears his heart on his sleeve!

I can't say enough amazing things about this place. Everywhere you look there are amazing things to see! Loved that it's open 24 hours as we went at 9:30 pm. It may be free, but a donation could be given.

Such a cool place and it’s located right off the highway! We had such a great time hiking the beautiful bog walk and going through the sculpture exhibit. Tom is so talented! Thanks for creating such a magical place and sharing it with the public!

What a fun, quirky, enjoyable drive through. Kudos to the artist....not only for the art work but for preserving such a great location to present it in. If you like to walk, that's doable too. It's definitely a little out of the ordinary...and definitely worth a stop.
Mark Doebler — Google review
The best part of this attraction is not that it's free but that it's open 24 hours! Being able to visit whenever you want is great when planning a day of adventure. We had so much fun walking through. We spent about an hour there and did not see every sculpture.

Highly enjoyable!! Very talented artistry! I really appreciate that we could drive through and see all the art sculptures! I have mobility issues and wouldn't of been able to walk through that far.
Loved all the art. Thank you for sharing your art with us all.
Be sure to make a donation at the donation station at the exit!! Entrance is free, so donating will help him keep up the free entrance and groom the area so we can all enjoy for years to come!!

Such a great place to stop while snowmobiling. A warm fire was crackling which was awesome. We also signed the guest book!

Great place for anyone to explore! The metal art is amazing here! There's a lot of different picnic tables and there's a playground for the kids. Also there is a nice big fireplace that you can enjoy around plenty of tables

So glad we stopped by after someone suggested it. You can walk or drive through. We drove because we were on a time constraint, but it would be great for people that have mobility issues to drive through and see it too. Fun sculptures.

Amazing sculpture you can drive thru the property but they also have walking trails out back. Owners really take pride in their work and are willing to share it with the public and kids especially. Please leave a donation to help keep this place going for everyone to enjoy. It's worth a visit

Fun place for hiking. The metal art sculptures are amazing! Some are fun and light hearted and others are very American, respectful and meaningful. They even have a small lake for fishing. My family had a lot of fun.

Really cool place to visit, awesome sculpture and metal work, only requests donations to enter, very cool, thanks!
The ice is still there, the walk is around 2.2 miles round trip (not a mile like the sign has said). Come prepared, it is extremely icy and you need ice tracks, cleats, or any other from of boot that is suitable for the icy conditions. Overall it is a beautiful peaceful hike. I definitely recommend going early in the morning when there are not as many people. Enjoy the hike and stay safe. It can get dangerous if you fall.
Cole Starke — Google review
We took the advice of other reviewers and arrived early, at about 10 am, which resulted in great parking, and we were able to take many pictures of the ice cave without any traffic. We definitely would recommend spikes for your shoes and even a walking stick to help balance on icy spots. Right before getting to the Caves is a tricky section of narrow trail and steeper sections that were iced over. We made our 5y/o daughter sit and slide on a few parts for safety. That said, our 5y/o was able to do the hike with just a bit of hand holding and encouragement. It's definitely worth it! What a treat to visit, and we appreciate the owners for sharing this majesty!

Eben ice caves is a fantastic place to visit. That being said, it is VERY TOUGH to get to if you don't have spikes on your boots/shoes or have small children with you. If you want to go, please make sure you have a good set of spikes (plenty of options on Amazon) with you. Also, it's about 2 miles hiking/walking round trip to see it so be prepared for that as well. It's a beautiful hike but might be worth bringing water or a small snack.

Eben Ice Caves - nature never disappoints! The new parking area & bathroom at the trailhead is a welcome addition & is greatly appreciated! Update - with the addition of the parking lot & bathroom, there is also an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep, as this is on private property. Went during the week & only one other family visiting. It was nice to get some great photos! The trail was widened (thank you), however there are a few challenging spots to get across - so definitely recommend using Yak Traks or a similar product on your boots.

ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN A HIDDEN GEM 💎 in the U.P. It's about a 1.2 mile walk from the NEW parking lot. (Across the field) The hike wasn't that bad totally worth the epic views! ✨️💙💙🩵 Perfect day with the family spot for FREE!! Concessions out there on the weekends for souvenirs etc.

We visited from Missouri and enjoyed seeing the ice caves. We went early in the morning, heard it gets crowded quick. Fairly easy hike, definitely recommend ice cleats as there were 2 pretty steep hills.

So so beautiful. My husband, me, and our 5 and 7 year old boys have been doing the hike every year for the past 3 years and I've been doing it since I was their age. A lot more tourists these days, so be prepared for messy parking and road there, possibly a hike to the hike if you hit it on a busy day. So worth it though. Most people who aren't used to hiking ice may want picks for their boots, my kids handle it just fine without them though. Happy hiking!
Naomi Anderson — Google review
We visited 2.13.21, the trail was pretty easy to walk (with ice cleats) it took us about 20-30min to get to the ice. Our group: 2 young adults, 11yr, and 6yr old (pretty healthy). I went a few years back with my older relative and it took us twice as long without ice cleats and walking slower. So please be mindful of your outdoor activity level and be prepared, wear snow pants so you can slide down some of the hills because there are a few, including one on the way back down from the ice caves.
L J — Google review
Our first trip to the Eben Ice Caves, but most definitely not our last. Enjoyable walk through the woods to the Caves. We had our 3 year old son with us and no ice cleats. The last 30 yards up to the Caves was a little sketchy for us, but we made the slick ascent. It was well worth the workout in passing our son back and forth as we traversed up the final hill. We have never seen anything like this before so we enjoyed the experience of it all! Will return with ice cleats. Thank you to the private land owners who open their field for us to pass through. The Porta Potties are greatly appreciated!!
Fayette Historic State Park is a vast outdoor space that features a well-preserved 19th-century iron smelting town. The park has 20 historic buildings and offers ample opportunities for hiking, swimming, and picnicking. Located on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan, this scenic location includes picnic spots, boat launch facilities, and a visitor center. For those who love underwater adventure, scuba diving in the harbor is available during certain times of the day.
This place IS Pet friendly, which is an extra star from us, BUT the dogs are not allowed inside any of the buildings, which is to be expected. We have been here so many times, and no matter how many times we visit, we seem to find new things to enjoy each time we come. It's so amazing to walk around and learn about the history of the area, and the buildings and what they were. There are times during the year where people dress in period costumes as well! Such a cool place!
Jessica ?SnowDogs? Hatch — Google review
Wonderful park, with so much history to see! There are numerous buildings you can go inside and check out restoration or artifacts (buildings open from 9-5). There’s a good amount of information to learn about everything. There is walking trail up on the hill that goes around the back and it’s beautiful. There is also a cliff top hike which offers great sunset views and views of the townsite on the bluffs to the northeast. Highly recommend it! All of the staff were so helpful and nice. The visitor center has a great model with more information, along with a good selection of things to purchase.
Lindsay Sondelski — Google review
Went in winter and had the entire place to ourselves. It was magical, having had just snowed the night before. The building were not staffed or open, but experiencing the hike and history was still wonderful. Can't wait to go back in summer for a more immersive experience.

Absolutely a must place to come see in the area. I think the family as a whole enjoyed this more than the springs. As beautiful as they are it was a short stop. Large parking lot, modern visitor center with nice facilities, gift shop, ice-cream, etc.. Easy trails to cover no matter who you are, plenty of benches and places to rest. Cover at your leisure. This stop can be quick or an entire day! Personally one of my favorite stops ever, if you appreciate history this is a really fun place to visit coupled up with everyone in our party enjoying it makes it a bonus!!!!

Beautiful grounds, with Lake Superior as the backdrop. Newly preserved buildings, and well manicured grounds make thus a step back in time that is enjoyable and educational. Nice gift shop with clean restrooms, and dogs allowed but not in buildings. (Annoying that dog owners do not always adhere to this). A great and beautiful experience!

Really neat place! While walking around the town you can imagine the people that used to live and work there. And the views of Lake Michigan are gorgeous, surrounded on three sides. We walked around the whole place and was a perfect walk. Not too long not to short.

An excellent Michigan State Park. Located in the ‘quiet side’ of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this park with its modern campground also boasts a restored 1880’s iron mining village, miles of hiking trails and a ‘campground’ just for boats. The sunsets are spectacular, there is a DNR station with a diorama of what the complete village used to look like, coupled with narration. A robust shop has everything from trinkets and t-shirts to coffee and ice cream. A day at Fayette is well worth the trip. Located on the Garden Peninsula of Upper Michigan.

A most fascinating ghost town to see! I'm sure I took over 50 photos of this historic town!! We saw it at 8:30 a.m. with a lot of fog. A cool site with a tad bit of creepy😂
The state has done an amazing job of caring for the history at this site. It's interesting and beautiful. The campground is on the smaller side which we also liked. The lake was beautiful at sunset and easy to get down to from the campground. You are allowed to have leashed dogs. The park runs free tours of the town so we will check that out on our next trip. This park is off the beaten path but is a must to see!

Beautiful and well preserved. There's so much history here, and the ability to go inside the buildings is great! The scenery is stunning. We took so many photos and can't wait to return!!

Wow! We really enjoyed this place. The history hidden in the old town is amazing! I love reading and learning about when was here in industrial area northern-Michigan. The rocks here a gorgeous as well! It’s so beautiful to see the cliffs, the historic town, and the boats marines in the harbor.

Sooo cool that this is still around. It's a great park with lots to see. Walk around the old historic town and walk into many buildings. It's very peaceful and pretty. The welcome center has a large scale model of the town. It's really neat! They are very helpful in answering any questions. There is quite a bit of walking to get around so be prepared for that. There are well groomed walking paths covered in stone. Check out this great piece of history.

Great park with beautifully restored historic buildings. The hike is manageable for many, but would be tough for people with canes or walkers, and would not be wheelchair accessible. Historic buildings are amazing and have great signage. Very interesting and educational. You could easily spend an entire afternoon here. The boat docks are lovely.

Educational and beautiful park surrounded by lake Michigan. Lots of old buildings to check out from the old town. Some buildings are open with displays, but unfortunately some are damaged and closed up. Note, dogs are not allowed in the buildings.
Entrance and parking are free with the Michigan passport. Picnic tables are located near the parking lot for a quick picnic lunch. Visitors center has flush bathrooms and gift shop with snacks and ice cream.
We spent about 2 hours here, but could have easily spent longer. Definitely worth checking out.

Walking into a piece of preserved history lots of old building to explore a very rich history waiting to be explored. It the perfect place to take a trip to the Michigan Recreation Passport get you in. It was a great place to stop on our budget friendly family vacation. Our boys weren't interested in exploring the buildings but fishing off the docks was thier cup of tea we were able to go down the road in Fayette Park is a swimming beach it had clean sand with a bathrooms and picnic tables perfect for eating out of a cooler. Highly recommend very kid friendly.. There was a small gift shop at the entrance to the park.

One of the coolest state parks I've ever been to and I saw a sliver of it. I was there when it was unmanned but no gate and had such a good time taking pics of all of the buildings and seeing the ghost town.

Great place to set as a destination or place to stop when touring the Upper Peninsula. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, with the rugged Lake Michigan shoreline offering panoramic views that are especially mesmerizing at sunset. Awesome campground, on the lake.

Wonderful step back in time surrounded by beautiful views! Added bonus of tasty ice cream available which was a welcome delight when we visited on an 80 degree day! I use a cane to get around and the trails are mostly accessible with no more than moderate effort…would be more challenging with walker or wheelchair, but still possible with assistance.

The first time I went to Fayette State Park was about 50 years ago. They have done so much to restore and preserve history. It was fun to go back and see it again. It's even better than I remembered it. You can walk through buildings. There are pictures and plaques along the way to tell you about each area.. worth the stop

This is an important part of Michigan’s history and I highly recommend visiting. They have done a fantastic job of rebuilding and recreating scenes giving you an idea of what life was like in 1880’s. Bring the family, dogs on a leash are welcome but not allowed in any of the buildings. Worth the time.

If you love history then don’t pass this park up. Listening to the history of the park is heartbreaking. I hope they continue to keep the park kept up!
Sand Point Lighthouse, a historic white-brick structure dating back to 1868, boasts a captivating past. Despite enduring storms and fires, the lighthouse continues to illuminate the harbor with its electric light, serving as a guiding beacon for incoming ships.
Ludington Park is a charming waterfront green space in Escanaba, offering a variety of activities for visitors. The park features athletic fields and courts, a beach, and a gazebo. Additionally, it boasts a trail leading to Aronson Island's natural park, the Sand Point Lighthouse, and the Delta County Historical Museum. Families with kids will appreciate the well-maintained play equipment and musical sets available for children to enjoy.
Visited over Easter weekend. First time in Escanaba. Ludington Park provided a great view of the lake. A very neat place to explore with my family.

AWESOME place to go. Lots of great play equipment for the kids & very well maintained. Cool musical sets for the kids to play on (drums, xylophone, chimes, etc) We stayed in Escanaba for 3 days & we spent @ least 4 hrs each day here. Nicely kept grounds w/lots of picnic tables & room for everyone to spread out. Plenty of trees to escape the hot sun. Clean restrooms & if there isn't one close by they have CLEAN portapoties available.
BEST public city owned park I've been to 40+ years! A+

Love this park. I help clean it up when people leave trash and enjoy time in nature there. I made this along time ago with a friend and turned into into a bridge at a certain point and used the same material to make a raft. Noone cared so I mean thats pretty cool if u ask me. I wish people would respect the park, blm came down and spray painted and trashed the place before and I guess miejiers is sponsoring them coming back here so prepare yourselves for the riff raff this spring/ summer. People go into nature to escape politics and apartment life.

I always like to tell a story of my out-of-town trips. In the background pictured a bridge. Two kayakers were traveling under the bridge, as I was going over the top. So I went home and told people I ran over two kayakers. My wife caught it right away.
One thing interesting is that they have a disc golf course within the park. I find that interesting because I know a person or two that does that for fun and recreation.
They have a huge playground area for the kiddos. They also have pit toilets and portable toilets that get maintained regularly.
I have seen dogs in the park. I don't know the particulars of that.

One of my most favorite places to swim in the upper peninsula! It has such a clean and well taken care of beach along with lifeguards that are on duty and a wonderful changing and showering off facility right off the beach, I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often! They also have a very well and moderately challenging frisbee course and a wonderful wooden park, this is a favorite palace among my whole family since there is something for everyone!

Modern rooms in a casino resort with restaurants & a nightclub, plus an indoor pool & a golf course.
This is my favorite casino. I have been going here for a few years, just went last night and had, enjoyed playing slots with some friends and getting some delicious white cheddar cheese curds at one of their several restaurants called The Reef. This resort and casino always has friendly staff and plenty of slots, and if you are a bingo fan like I am I suggest going to their cosmic bingo. I have also stayed here multiple times and have to say their rooms are always very clean and modern.

A birds-eye view of the casino floor was a pretty unique and really cool amenity of our whirlpool suite! Stayed here for just one night and it was a nice experience. The suite was essentially two rooms put together. One had the whirlpool and the other had the bathroom and beds. The room with the whirlpool had a full couch and a table with chairs. Both rooms had a large TV as well. Beds were comfortable, but the pillows were too small and felt like “little boulders” according to my Mom (I am an adult that is fortunate to still be able to travel with my parents). I really, and I can’t stress this enough, really really appreciated the fact that the hotel has a separate adults-only pool. Nothing against kids, but it is nice to have someplace for adults to relax and not to be constantly barraged with all the noise and water activities that typically come from hotel pools that are open to all. Don’t worry, there is a indoor water park too if you want to bring the kids. One thing I didn’t care for was the fact that if you stayed in the Sun Tower like we did you either had to roll the luggage cart through the casino dodging people along the way or pull up to the other entrance (which we didn’t know about until we checked out). The casino had a good variety of games and we actually ended up leaving with a profit! We ate at The Reef counter service restaurant and the food was good and the prices were fair. We also had Old Fashioned drinks at the bar and the bartender was great and actually knew how to make a good one which was very nice. We will definitely be back.

The casino was nice. Was able to play for a while without losing all my money right away. The kids' pool was awesome. We ate at 2 different places in the casino. The food court type place was good. Food was quick and reasonably priced with great service. The restaurant had quick seating, and breakfast was good.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Many recently remodeled!
Location isn't great. Not much to do immediately surrounding the hotel.
5 stars because I left all my nice shirts in the closet. Called the same day and they over night mailed them to me. Top Notch service there.

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday in a king bed bedroom. The room was clean but older and basic. It didn’t include a mini fridge which I could have checked online but I thought all rooms just include that. We were on the 12th floor and it was quiet. The air conditioner/heater made a loud noise and so did the bathroom fan so that was annoying. We ate at the steakhouse for dinner which was good and enjoyed the casino. It was pretty busy at times but a good variety of slot machines. It was a good size casino a little on the smaller side and a couple different food options open until 1 am. All the staff was very nice and helpful. Included in the hotel stay you can go to the adults only pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room which is open until 1 am. The pool was salt water which was nice but the hot tub could be bigger it was full the whole time we were down there. Overall we had a great stay and would visit again!

My wife and I got married in the ballroom and we could not have been happier. Our original wedding coordinator at the casino was not very good. She forgot to book our food tasting, meaning we had to travel another 3 hours round trip, didn't tell us we couldn't have a buffet until 1 month before, almost never responded to us, booked our wedding on a day when the venue was already booked, etc. We were so upset that we were ready to be done with them, but then we were told she would be leaving and a new woman would be taking her place. Enter Ashlee Jones. She was able to schedule our food tasting immediately, she went out of her way to make sure every second of the planning was easy and fun! She responded to our questions immediately. I honestly can't say enough good things about her.
Also, the amenities you get from The Island are incredible! We got plated meals for 200 guests, a wedding cake, the venue, ALL of our decorations, the seating (tables and chairs), hair and makeup for our bridesmaids, the king suite, and a late night pizza snack! They also worked with our DJ to make sure all the sound and lighting were perfect. Not to mention they set everything up and tore everything down for us! Anywhere else all of that would cost at LEAST $15,000. This was SO much more affordable! I wish I could remember the name of the woman in charge of decorating our venue because she was also phenomenal. When I came in and saw the tablecloths were the wrong color, she immediately went to work correcting the situation and was so wonderful to work with.
It took me way too long to write this review, but thank you so much to everyone at The Island Resort and Casino for making our wedding day absolutely perfect!

I have been up to this casino approximately 3 to 6 times in my life and this place just gets it right every time! There is a lady named Julie that works in the players club that is an account coordinator and she is probably the best human on earth! She is there to answer any and every question you might have and she is a very informative person and you could tell she really likes working there and she really likes helping out a guest. It just felt real unlike when you go to other casinos and they will answer your questions but you can tell that they don't seem to want to even be at work let alone being genuine with a guest. With all this being said beautiful stay beautiful hotel beautiful water park and would definitely recommend to anyone else who has never been here but today was the first day that I met Julie and she just really made my day so I wanted to let everyone know that she does a great job! Thank you Julie for making this trip the best one so far, keep being you and being a great human. It is so refreshing that there are still good employees out there that care about the guest.

I have stayed at the Island twice now and I love it! We want to try to stay every year. The kids loved the pool. The only thing I don't like is the separation of the kids and adults pool. Felt like Joe at the front desk worked very hard to give us a room in the worst location. We were on the second floor, our window looked out to the casino floor (warning in our room that we could be seen if the drapes were open), by the elevators and ice machine across from the laundry. None of which was told to us at check in. I advise avoiding the low, even-numbered 200 rooms in what I'll call the "old" section. Went to the pool/whirlpool which had been taken over by a loud group that had brought in their own alcohol, which is posted that you could not do. Several hotel employees were in and out but nothing was said or done. When ordering Starbucks coffee, which they proudly advertise they carry, we were informed that they could not make a decaf latte (seriously?). So we went to the car to retrieve our Yeti mugs and make coffee in the room and were stopped by a security guard saying we couldn't have the mugs on the casino floor. Thanks, Joe, for giving us a room ALL the way across the casino. We explained we were taking them to our room. Also took the opportunity to explain our pool experience. Response was, well, no one must have complained. I guess if you work at the hotel you're exempt from reporting customers that are violating what is posted on the signs. Perhaps if we were playing golf or eating at the high end steak house things might have been different.

The service and staff at both the hotel and casino are stellar. However, the rooms are outdated, and cleanliness could be better, as carpets throughout, rooms, and halls are dirty or stained. The window shades/curtains don't have the ability to close completely, so the resort lighting outside constantly comes through. The soap dispenser in the shower works occasionally. No mini fridge, and the in room coffee maker is in the bathroom, which makes it a cold day in hell before i use that. I am grateful that the casino is smoke-free. Other than a face lift, the hotel is very reasonable, considering the rates . I think the most humorous part of my stay was that the hotel is actually in Central Time Zone, but it's so close to the Eastern Time Zone that that is what the entire resort runs on...it's very funny and confusing all at the same time!!!

I am truly amazed everytime I come here. The staff are kind and courteous. You offer such a variety of entertainment and meal options that we ran out of time during our last stay! I love the fact that you can check-in and never have to leave again until check-out. Can't wait to visit again!
P.S. we had a beautiful sunset view from our room the night we checked in. Special bonus!

Stayed several days and nights on our cross country trip, northern route. Used it as a base camp to visit local attractions and experience the area.
In early November the parking lot is unusually empty but the weekend is crowded. The park is compact, two areas, but one has a shower house. Gas, laundry, clinic and "weed" 🤔 at the adjacent gas station. Water was off but power was fine. Filled our tank at the shower house, so no issues, Front desk at the hotel was very accommodating as we kept changing our stay due to weather and RV issues. Thank you!
We enjoyed the restaurant on the top floor of the hotel, lovely... The faster food and sports bar on the first floor were fine. One of the quieter casinos we've visited but varied and exciting. Friday and Saturday saw a huge crowd. Not gamblers ourselves but those who were, seemed to be having a great time. If you're traveling in the off season in UP we'd really recommend this RV park 😉.

Worst Hotel Casino Ever!!!!!!! Went back in February. Earned 4089 (If you guys read this do the math on my spend in one visit. Live 4 hours away. Once I saw they had a water park thought this is great!!! My kids can play and at night I can go out! Well this is incredibly stupid. They need to decide who their crowd is for the water park. Its either the locals up there who come just for the water park and spend nothing. Or guests with kids but also come to gamble. Stated they have a adults only pool, but its not enforced either. More kids in there. When I went in February they had bus upon bus of local people for the water park. Went in with my kids and could barely move so many people. Well now, they split it: 100 for hotel 100 for locals. Still stupid because the water park passes sell right away. Then the hotel passes you have to buy a special package to get them. Limit 4 (cant do 5 because apparently one more is just not possible.) So the crowds they are going for no kids and locals. Not going to drive 4 hours just to gamble. Wisconsin has a lot of casinos, I'll give my money to my local casinos.

Kids are no longer allowed in the pool!!!!
I booked a room and specifically asked if the pool was open. I had to tell them who would be in my room (two adults, two children). Why was it not communicated to me at the time of booking, that the pool I asked about was no longer available to children? We’ve been coming here on and off for 8 years and have always brought the kids. The water park is nearly impossible to get tickets to on the weekends unless you buy them WEEKS in advanced!
I did not know the rules had changed and the kids were not allowed. Found this out when a drunk/impaired individual became combative to my husband and I about kids not being allowed. The individual then went and got security, security came and asked us to leave. The man was being very combative with my husband and even got a little physical with me. I was attempting to keep him from going after my husband while we gathered our things. Not a word was said to this man about his behavior.
This experience alone has me feeling that I will not return! It was always a nice little getaway without having to go too far from home!
Also, I always thought they had mini fridges in their rooms, I could be mistaken…but there was not. If you do go, you will want to check before bringing anything that requires refrigeration.

It's a nice place. There is a lot on site so you don't have to leave.
BUT, the problem I have is all of my comps they send me for free rooms every month are not usable, unless you play their game and book a bunch of dates in advance and if you receive a promo for that month your interested in use it or cancel the reservation if you don't want it. This is not helpful to anyone. Build a bigger hotel! You can watch your promo cash on your mail offers drop too as your reservation dates get closer, it's laughable.
Last visit in June we had 4 wood ticks in our room and my wife requested a new room in the middle of the night. They did accommodate us, but the only room they had left was an upgrade(which really didn't seem like an upgrade), but they so graciously waived the fee. Bless your heart for not making us sleep in your dirty room as if we were sleeping in a tent. The next day we had a few good hits, so we might came back again.

I visited the Drift Spa, and they had my cell number wrong, so the appointments had to get switched around. But the facility is very clean, tranquil and staff are friendly. You are at a spa, so prices are definitely higher. Overall experience is a 5, but due to pricing and the fact they auto generated a tip onto the price(isn't told to you). I feel like your tip should be up to you, and your budget. I give it a 4 🌟

We have been there twice and enjoy going. The staff is really good, and everything is clean and nice. The foods at the restaurants are delicious and reasonably priced. The spa is just beautiful. The gambling was fun too and the views are gorgeous, especially in the fall. The loyalty program allows for free nights and bonus cash to gamble with or to use for meals. My bed was super lumpy and sunken in on one side this last time, which is my only complaint. Still, I’d go back in a New York minute!

The suite was decent. However, it had a funky stench to it. The food options at the casino need to be better. Also, the steakhouse won't take reservations for less than 5 people. The wait for 4 was 1.5 hours. The band we went to see made it all worth it, and we had a great time with them.

Stayed in the hotel part that they just built. It was nice only problem is the toilet. If your short like me bring a step stool otherwise you will not be able to properly wipe when you go because the toilet is for tall people. Otherwise the hotel room was very nice. Upper management just should have thought about getting stools in the bathrooms for short people. Also when checking out the staff member did not ask how the stay was when in times past they have always asked about the stay.
Schoolhouse Beach Park is a popular and scenic lakeside destination known for its crystal-clear water and unique beach of smooth limestone rocks. Situated on the northern side of Washington Island, it is considered one of Door County's most unusual beaches due to its soft, flat stones that have been shaped by slow-moving glaciers over millennia. The isolated location offers breathtaking views and an idyllic atmosphere for swimmers and sun worshippers alike to enjoy.
A beautiful beach! Definitely worth a stop. Be sure to not take any stones because they are legally protected. That itself was an interesting factoid.

Yet another beach in Door County with crystal clear water and excellent skipping stones. The evergreen boreal forest trees that line the shoreline help to create a masterpiece of majestic natural scenery. Beautiful lakeshores like Schoolhouse Beach Park are the reason that Door County stands out from other places in Wisconsin in an amazingly unique way.

One of the highlights of our Washington Island visit. We made a stop on a Saturday in June and encountered a decent amount of visitors, but this clear, smooth-stoned beach is a must visit location if you come to the island.
There seemed to be ample parking, and while we weren't there to picnic, there seemed to be plenty of places to sit and enjoy the space.
Do not come expecting to take some of the rocks home. Rock hounding is highly discouraged and violators face a hefty $250 fine.
Beautiful! The entire beach consists of perfectly smooth stones. Never seen anything like it. The stones make for great skipping stones or stones to build towers with. You're able to swim here if you'd like, and there are buoys in the water to mark the swimming area. Also has restrooms on site and plenty of parking.

What an amazing hidden beach! Local bartender suggested it, and it was the best stop on the island. The clearest water, and most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Gets deep fast, but water is so clear you can see the bottom even when it gets 15-20ft deep. Crystal clear and beautiful white stone beach. I can't say enough to describe how beautiful this beach was.

One of the most beautiful 'beaches' I've ever seen.
Also - when we were there one of the busiest.
We tend to go away from the crowds not toward them. If you want this place to yourself your best bet would be to find accommodations on the island and get here either before the first ferry arrives or after the last one leaves for the day.
It was an awesome place to visit minus the crowd.

We took an atv here. I love the shaded area with the trees you can walk under and through, making this natural canopy. The beach is all rocks right? You know that. But just remember. It's ALL rocks. There's no sand. Not even gravel to rest your feet once you get past that tree line. With bare feet, it hurts. And they get hot. So bring swim shoes. Not even flip flops. You'll have a hard time keeping them on. Some people just resort to wearing shoes in the water. And of course some just grin and bare it while they fumble around. Just bring the swim shoes. Oh and there's a lot of rock throwing. Imagine that.

It is absurd and a pity that 10% of this place is public and the rest is private. Would have loved to walk around the bay and back. The location is great, however, given the small portion available, consider not getting there on a national holiday or weekend as it might not be as enjoyable. We were there at 9 AM on a sunday and it was already with 50+ people around.
Parking is limited. There is a public restroom in case it is needed and the pines around are beautiful.

If you happen to be here Sundays in the summer, the church hosts services in the Stavkirke. Check with the main church building across the street for times.

I would say one of the stops to see on the island was beautiful. The walk in the park little nature trail to the side inside was beautiful even though a small. I still recommend someone seeing this.

This is a beautiful building and a great symbol of some of the heritage that has shaped the Door County Peninsula. It’s a very quiet and peaceful place to visit. The grounds are kept well and are nice to walk through. Sometimes the church is open and we always enjoy taking a peek inside when we are able to.

Such a beautiful and well kept place. Wish there were more details about the history though.

Such a beautiful place tucked away back in the trees, especially in the fall when they leaves have turned! You can also go inside and look around.

Open when we went on a Tuesday afternoon. Nice trails around the building, but you can park right in front, so no hiking necessary. There is a 2nd parking lot on the other side with a short walk through the woods.

So unique! I’m so happy we stopped here. The woodwork was incredible and the property and nature trails were so relaxing and calming.

Super beautiful!
Thought it was a bit more of a hike/trail type thing around it, bit it's actually pretty short of a walk. The church itself is stunning though!

Nicely restored. You can climb the 97 stairs, yet they are only like half steps. Friendly people. Wonderful volunteers. Can take tractor across Causeway.

Beautiful little church. Impressive architecture in a peaceful woodsy area, but right off the road and easy to get to. Has a wooden path/ramp from the parking area to the outside of the church so it's easy to walk there and more accessible. Worth a stop!

A unique and peaceful experience even among other tourists. Every visitor seemed pensive and in awe while inside.
If you are on the island this is definitely worth the stop.

One of the coolest buildings I've ever been to. The simplicity adds to the complexity. It's a definite must stop and make sure you start with the wooded walk, mazing through the trees with the dark structure in the shadows.

Absolutely incredible architecture and prayer walk, beautiful flowers surrounding the church. Incredible woodwork and definitely worth visiting.
Very efficient company. People were courteous and professional. Only problem I could tell, was on the shoreline side. The signage was a little confusing. Cars line way back up onto the highway. There was a sign to go to the parking lot for the ferry which confused a lot of people instead of staying in the left lane they went to the right lane and then couldn't get down to the ferry is that lane. Watched a lot of them have to do a three-point turn to turn around.

Boats were cleanly and seemed to be in great shape. Can choose to stay in your car or get out and experience the views. Indoor deck to keep you out of the elements, or top deck to enjoy the breeze. Wait time for boarding depends on traffic. No need to get out of your car to buy tickets, as they come to you with a portable charge machine! Very convenient.

The best! When traffic is heavy, they load and go! Courteous, patient crew - especially as I was loading my new 24' motorhome!

These guys are so efficient and friendly, getting on and off the ferry was quick and easy. The ride was perfectly timed to the minute, we were impressed each time. With that in mind, do be early. And please note that reservations are needed for vehicles for spring trips since the ferry only runs a few times a day verses the summer when it runs quite often. Just call the office and let them know what time you want to head over and head back, it's a painless process. Just check in at the booth when you park to get your ticket.

Awesome trip over to Washington Island. Beautiful scenery. Watch out for the multitude of May flies on board!! Inside area to sit and two restrooms on board.
Judi Cimuchowski — Google review
On a Monday in July, we arrived just a few minutes before the time of departure and there was already about 10 cars ahead of us who also would have to wait for the next ferry to take us across. So, be at least 15 minutes early and, if not, enjoy free coffee in their small museum about the history of the islands you'll pass by and see as you cross.
There is plenty of seating inside and outside on the ferry. You can bring pets across for free and even stay in your car as the ferry travels across, though I'd recommend getting out and walking up to the 2nd or 3rd floor to see the captain's steering wheel and the views from of other islands. It can get windy so feel free to move to a side of the ship that is protected from the wind or go to the inside seating.
The ferries seem to leave every 15 minutes that day. You also don't need to have a car to go across, they do have tour trains that drive from tourist site to site on Washington Island.
Paul Rinaldi — Google review
1st time on the ferry to Washington island. Even though I've been to other parts of Door County several times. My favorite thing about this was that the rates weren't as a bad as I expected to be as shown online. So it was only 60 dollars round trip for 2 people. Not sure I would go again but it was worth seeing once. My favorite part was the lavender shop there.

The staff were very helpful and courteous. It was a great experience. When you visit Door County you taking the ferry out to Washington Island is a must. This is very much worth your time. It is a short relaxing ride to another beautiful attraction. Taking the ferry is easy and their schedule allows all the time you need on the island.
Chris Lee — Google review
Very cool experience! Be aware not all ferries are the same size. The driver of our vehicle was unable to exit the truck on the return ferry, because there was zero room to open his door. The ferries do have restrooms and seating to enjoy the ride outside of your vehicle. Something like $96 for 4 adults, 1 child and a vehicle.

We took the tram/train on a tour of the island. Very, very informative. She stopped often so we could get out and see the sights. I highly recommend this.
Independent zoo houses 400 domestic & exotic creatures in large habitats & hosts learning sessions.
We were blown away by the variety of animals at the zoo and how close you could get to them. It was fun feeding them grains, carrots, and marshmallows (for the deer). We had a great time and would recommend to others.

This is not a huge zoo, BUT.... very interactive with their visitors! I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a few hours of fun and learning about their critters. They give an excellent tour of the animals and offer many chances to interact with them as well. Well done, DeYoung family & staff.

Enjoyed taking my son, he is only two and did well for his age. We both loved feeding the animals and listening to the walking tour. Afterwards we stopped across the road for a snack and so he could play. It was a wonderful time!

Amazing little family operated zoo. They care very much for the well being of their creatures, and form binds with them. Check out the feeding schedule to see some really awesome stuff. Got to feed and pet a hippo!
Paris Wanta — Google review
It was okay. Went there as a trip down memory lane and it just didn't hit the same. It was a beautiful day out but quite hot. So most of the animals were hiding in their enclosure. It would be nice if they had more non-American animals. It also would be helpful if they made a site map cause it felt like I was going in circles from time to time. The DeYoung Zoo feels more like a sanctuary.

We love going here annually. Bud and Carrie are true animal lovers and experts. They have a schedule of events throughout the day. Small entrance fee also you can buy food for animals. All proceeds go to care of the animals. We also give extra cash donations for the animals. The animal encounters are our favorite.

Fantastic zoo! Everything is so close but yet so safe. You can tell the owners love the animals and the ability to feed them is awesome as well. The different types of animals is also great how it differs from other zoos.

What an amazing place! What a gift to have an owner that is willing to share his love and passion with us! He was out feeding the animals during scheduled times and is very personable. I had the best time. It’s not a “zoo” in the traditional sense. This guy opened his backyard to all animals needing homes. I will be coming back for sure!!! Thank you!

I can't say enough about this zoo. Deyoungs is a no kill animal rescue. They do wonderful things with the animals. I recently spent the day there with my grand daughter. Afterwards, we did the sloth critter connection where she got to hold and interact with the sloth. It just so happened when we arrived she (Carrie I believe) was working with a couple other young animals, and she was so so kind as to allow us to interact with the wallaby and Penguin as well. We had the best day!! All the money that is taken in from the zoo and the critter connection is used to rehab these animals. So by all means, go and have a great day with your kids. I can't say enough about her knowledge and patience (cause she needed it with a 6 yr old) we will definitely be checking out the new little ones in her critter connection next year. You need to buy tickets in advance for the critter connection, but not the Zoo.

We had the best day visiting and touching Capybaras, Sloths, Otters, Kangaroo baby, and a Dingo puppy. Carrie was the zookeeper and owner. She was so full of great information about the animals and everything. She was so kind and made our experience memorable. Thanks Carrie! We will be back. I recommend everyone to go the the DeYoung Zoo.

Visited the DeYoung Family Zoo this past weekend and it was an unforgettable and amazing experience.
In total, there are approximately 50-75 species of animals. During our visit, we saw at least one hippo, bear, tiger, camel, emu, wolf, sloth, porcupine, alligator, coyote, dingo, tortoise, goat, sheep, chicken, pig, deer, turkey.
The enclosures are large - some larger than you’d see in large-scale zoos. The property itself sits in a heavily wooded area and the walking paths are dirt. It’s just about as natural of a setting as it can get.
The feeding experiences are incredible. Not only does the family do a great job of wrangling the visitors up during feeding and providing great information, they also get the visitors involved with hands-on feeding of their own. At the entrance building, you can purchase items such as carrots or lettuce and feed them to animals throughout the zoo. There are signs posted that let you know which animals are which to have certain foods.
The animals themselves seemed very happy and engaging. Again, more than I’ve ever seen at larger zoos. We were able to hold a wolf pup, pet a hippo while hand-feeding him and also have an educational encounter with a sloth. This was a solo experience led by Carrie. We had so many questions about the sloth and she was exceptional. Everyone we still at the zoo was incredibly friendly, grateful we were there and so insightful.
When you go, you’ll want to get there right when they open. You won’t want to miss one of the feedings or other interactive experiences. They opened at 10:00am CENTRAL time, not Eastern time. If you need to go back to your car for any reason, they just stamp your hand on your way out so you can get back in. Also, there is no food available on site - there is a small food stand on the other side of their parking lot across the street that has some basics to hold you over. The people who run this are kind as well.
I’m very happy to leave a 5-star review. The only suggestions I would make are perhaps a few more seating areas, picnic tables… and then maybe a park map. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy. Just a print-out of the exhibits.
Thank you to everyone at the zoo for all you do!
J R — Google review
Absolutely love this zoo and the different variety of animals it has. It's so nice to see animals that enjoy their exhibits and are clearly loved by the staff. I also love the animal encounters. We were able to hold baby goats, chickens, snakes, and a baby wolf. You also get to buy feed to feed to all the animals including a hippo.
I would have given 5 stars, but I felt like we spent all of our time chasing the staff around the zoo to each enclosure that they were presenting at. While I loved each one and learned a lot, I'm sad that I didn't have enough time to see the other animals in the zoo.
Next time we visit, we will be sure to walk through the zoo at our own pace so that we can see everything.

This zoo is so educational and hands-on with visitors and animals. The natural habitats are wonderful to see. I love that multi generations of the family work at the zoo. This place is a must visit. Feeding the animals is our favorite.
The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, located in Peninsula State Park, is a restored historic site that served as a keeper's home from 1868 to 1929. It overlooks the Strawberry Channel and offers exhibits on its keepers and period furnishings. The lighthouse now functions as a museum where visitors can take guided tours of the building and surrounding structures to learn more about its role in keeping sailors safe during bad weather.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is beautiful. We went in early May so the lighthouse was closed but the crowd was very low. Of the light houses in Door County I'd say this is the best. The Park is also beautiful and easy to navigate.

For $5, the trip inside this preserved lighthouse is worth it! You will learn the history about the lighthouse and the family who lived here and operated it. You can be able to climb the spiral staircase leading to the lamp and see beautiful views of the bay through its windows. Nice lighthouse!!

The Eagle Bluff Light House is a historical gem in the Door County, WI, USA. Situated on a 40 feet high bluff off the Shore Road, Fish Creek, the historical light house was constructed with Milwaukee cream-coloured brick in 1868 for guiding ships through a narrow and treacherous channel of Green Bay portion of Lake Michigan.
It was functional from 1868 to 1926. After that, it was standing there somewhat neglected. The Door County Historical Society, a private organization, fought a long battle for its restoration and keeping as a great Historical structure, and was successful when the restored lighthouse opened to the public in 1964.
Today the restored lighthouse is a public attraction, and many tourists visit this place regularly.
There is a small car parking area in front of the lighthouse.
Just on the right side of the entry point there is a signboard for the visitors bearing the name of the lighthouse and its year of construction.
Inside the gate, there is an old iron-made anchor. The 1000 pound-anchor is from the schooner "Oak Leaf" which sank in the Sturgeon Bay in 1928.
The lighthouse proper has a building and a tower, which houses the lamp of the lighthouse.
Historically, the first keeper of the lighthouse H. Stanley lighted the first lamp in this lighthouse on October 15, 1868.
The place is so positioned that it is a natural "Sunset Point", from where a magnificent view of the sun setting in the bay is visible.
Flip side : There is a public free washroom in the vicinity, but during my visit on 15 October 2023 it was unclean and stinky.

We were here in the off season but there was a trolley tour going on so there were people inside the lighthouse. We didn’t get to go inside but explored the ground and read the history. Personally I really like these old buildings and was probably a lighthouse keeper in another lifetime.
During the summer the building is open and you can go inside to see the quarters and learn about lighthouse culture
For now please enjoy this moody photo of a rainy day at Eagle Bluff

Not open to the public, need to book a private tour in advance. They say it’s open to the public but it was close for a private tour all day and they didn’t want the public bothering them. I don’t know how often that happens but they can’t have it both ways. It’s either open to the public or it’s not. There is also poison ivy all over, so be careful if you have kids or a dog.
Brad B — Google review
What an amazing site! The views were great and the tour was wonderful. Parking is easy and close. Also, riding a bike down the trail brings you right to the site. Be careful in the woods as there is poison ivy everywhere. I highly recommend bringing poison ivy cleaner when you come to Door County?

We didn't take the tour, but I did talk to the attendant. It was very informative. We may have taken the tour but they didn't take you up to see the lens room, because the weather had recently changed and the condensation was bad. Located in a heavily wooded state park, it is hard to believe that a hundred years ago it was farmland, and the local residents were complaining about the brightness.

OUTDOOR ENTERTAINMENT AMONG THE PINES
This open air theater is located inside Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek. If you enter within one hour of the performance and park in the the correct parking lot, you don’t have to purchase a park pass. Just driving into the park to find that lot is quite the adventure, following the signs and hoping for the best. The performances throughout the year are varied and I thoroughly enjoyed the one I attended.

Have been to several performances over the past 5 years. Have always enjoyed the one of a kind plays. The actors are very professional and quite entertaining. Most of the time the actors are the musical players too. The venue is in the woods with the sky above. When going remember to bring bug repellent and a flashlight to see with after the play. Seating is always good and they provide cushions for the wood benches.

What a wonderful place to get lost in a theatrical fantasy! As you drive deep into the forest of the Peninsula State Park, it's hard to imagine a theater set outdoors. Once you are seated, it feels like you are in your own little world for awhile. After the show, the darkened paths you entered on are romantically lit so you can safely find your way back to your car and the real world.

Absolutely a gem of a Wisconsin treasure. This theatre has grown and changed through the years but always stayed true to its populist creed - original musicals based in Wisconsin culture, priced and appropriate for families. Funny, surprising, heartfelt and unique. No one should pass up a chance to see one of their shows. The music is unbelievable and so are the voices!!

We saw The Fish Whisperer for the first time. Not quite what I expected but it was a very cool show. Can't go wrong with the actors in the cast. It very tastefully dealt with some very serious topics without getting too heavy. Very cute song and dance at the end. (Oops. Maybe I wasn't supposed to give that away!) Can't wait to see it again!

This theater is a unique gem in the woods. If you want to be entertained with great energy, talent, and humor, I highly recommend it. I’ve never seen a theater and company as neat as this one.
The stunning Peninsula State Park is a vast and picturesque park located in Wisconsin, boasting beautiful beaches, bluffs, caves, creeks and several islands. Established in 1909, this sprawling park has an array of excellent amenities for visitors to enjoy such as camping facilities and bike trails. The park is also home to a challenging but rewarding hiking trail called Eagle Trail that showcases some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region.
Enjoyed a three night stay in a non-electric campsite. Campsite host was helpful. This park has a lot to offer and has an incredibly high number of people biking so be very careful when traveling around. Bike rentals available in town or at the beach in the park. The various hiking trails are also busy. The Eagle Trail is nice but very difficult to travel on in parts...not for the frail or unambitious. The Park also has a nice golf course and professionally-manged outdoor musical production company.

ONE OF THE BEST STATE PARKS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!
This place really is the bees knees, full of so many amenities and hidden gems one could spend a month here and still not experience all it has to offer. The park manager Matt is extremely polite, informative, and friendly. The staff has the campgrounds looking outstanding and their enthusiasm is refreshingly reminiscent of the "good ole days" when I was a kid and went to campgrounds. Excellent place for families and a place to disconnect!!! If you are a runner, the Vista trail to the sentinel trail across the park to the Eagle Tower(shown in the pictures) is a great route.

This place has lots of different trails either for hiking or skiing you'll have a good time. As I was during winter you better bring a nice jacket and gloves and good hiking boots as there are spots which are super slippery so be aware of that! Eagle bluff loop was nice though probably would recommend biking or jogging it over a leisurely stroll, as it’s a little on the longer side for a walk. Trail was in good shape. Next time I think I’ll camp here too, the campsites looked promising and well spread out throughout the park.

Absolutely gorgeous state park. We camped here for the weekend and loved it.
The campgrounds were in great condition and they had showers and facilities in the campgrounds. They offer firewood at all times of day, via a firewood vending machine. There's some really great views and lookouts, I definitely recommend driving/hiking/biking around the park and seeing all the sights it offers.
Lots of trails and lots of places to sight see. It also offers a great location, if you want to explore Door County (as it's only a couple of minutes from Fish Creek and Sister Bay).

Views of the lake and islands at Eagle Tower, various overlooks, Nicolet Bay beach, nearby amphitheater, hiking, boat access, historic lighthouse, and a lot more.
We stayed in the car since it was raining, but there are lots of areas to park to hit the trails or various attractions.
One highlight was that we built a morning fire in the picnic shelter and really enjoyed sitting inside while the wind and rain howled outside.

The Cana Island Lighthouse, situated in Baileys Harbor, is a 19th-century lighthouse that also includes the original keeper's quarters. This historic landmark is open to visitors seasonally and can be accessed by taking a tractor ride to the island. The lighthouse has a distinct appearance with its tall white tower and black lantern on top. It serves as an active light while also offering tours for visitors to explore the local history of the area.
Being part of history is always fun. We drove a tractor over rocks to get to the other side. Super fun. We got to look at the lighthouse and other historical buildings/finds. The views were gorgeous and we had lots of fun exploring! Highly recommend 👌.

So much fun!!! Parking lot available although can get tight and you may have to park along side the road. You can walk across a water channel to get to the lighthouse area or they will tracker and trailer you over. It is 12 dollars a person, but gives you access to go into the lighthouse. We climbed the spiral staircase and got to look over Lake Michigan. Such a beautiful view! You can also walk along the shore and check out some historical sites around the lighthouse. Would recommend!

Cana Lighthouse and all the surrounding buildings underwent a massive restoration within the last few years. It was finished last year. There is a nice new parking lot, porta potties, welcome center and gift shop, nice restrooms (on the island) and more. The light house keeper’s house, out house, workshop and fuel storage area are all renovated and beautifully restored.
The house is being decorated in 1920 era furnishings. There are 97 steps up to the top of the lighthouse, not for those who fear heights!! The view is spectacular however.
There is access to the rocky shore and it is a great place to sit and enjoy some peace and quiet among the waves lapping the rocks.
There is a tractor with a rough wagon ride to and from the island. It is possible to walk across if the water is low enough but the ride is fun.
Admission is charged to gain access to the lighthouse area. Wristbands are worn to show one has paid.
The docent was knowledgeable and friendly.
It is a wonderful way to learn about the history of lighthouses etc. Quite enjoyable!

Unique little lighthouse with interesting lighthouse keeper story. Well maintained by the current lighthouse keeper. A free hayride can take you across the walkway - which had water across it when we visited so that was a nice treat on the way back. They were short staffed the day we visited so it wasn’t available as we walked over.
There are 97 steps to the top which has a nice view. I paid for one of our members to enter, but walking was an issue for her. Unless you are planning to actually go up and actively look at all of the displays, you might be better served to stay at the gift shop with those displays.
Bathrooms were clean and easily accessible.

This is a nice 155-year-old lighthouse that is operated by the Door County Maritime Museum and well-maintained. After walking across the causeway (that often is covered with water and requires a haywagon ride), we climbed the 97 steps of the spiral staircase to the top of the lighthouse and saw beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Afterward we viewed the lighthouse keeper’s home and oil house, and then walked around the edges of the island on the rocky shore next to the water. We had a nice adventure there!

Neat place if you like lighthouses. I felt ambivalent to them before this, and same now. Island is pretty, but small. Whole experience took me about 1 hour, including having to wait 20 minutes for the volunteers to get there to open the lighthouse. (A huge thanks to them for making a 2 hour drive to volunteer). I visited on a Tuesday morning and it wasn’t crowded, but I got there 30 minutes before the first tractor crossing. A bumpy tractor ride to the island where it’s $10 to see the island and climb the lighthouse. I’m glad I was alone and didn’t have my family with me, because it would have been terrible to pay $10 for each of them too. Neat view from the top, but I can’t say I’m glad I went. Been there, done that. Won’t be back. And won’t recommend to others unless they really dig lighthouses.

The lighthouse was closed for renovations while we were there. Very disappointing. But additional small buildings were open, the lighthouse was impressive from the outside, and the landscape is impressive. The gift shop is nice and a video presentation is available. The best part of the trip was the tractor ride across the causeway. We could have walked it across low water. But the driver was so witty and entertaining. A jostling, rough ride, though. It would be challenging for some with physical impairment.

Very beautiful lighthouse and Lakeshore. U can walk to the island if water is shallow. There is a ticket to go on the island and see the lighthouse. It has 97 stairs. View is serene

I have dreamed of returning to Cana lighthouse. As an 8 yr old, I walked across the water knee deep to the island without my parents. 44 yrs later, I finally returned. The water was shallow, and there were enough rocks to walk across the rocks. Once on the island, it's so much more open than I remembered. Each direction of the island has fun entrances to the beach areas. We were there at sunset to enjoy the gentle sunset over the trees. It's nice to know that magic still exists and you can return.

I highly recommend visiting Cana Island Lighthouse. The water was low, but we rode the tractor to get to the island. It was a bumpy ride, so we did walk back. They did a multi-million dollar renovation in 2020. There's a visitor center where you can watch a 10-minute video and pay the entrance fee. There are 97 steps to the top of the lighthouse, and you can walk around at the top.

Being pulled by a John Deere tractor in a old haywagon across a road of rocks coveted by the lake was awesome. The driver was hilarious. The lighthouse and beach were both awesome. I hope to be able to climb to the top of the lighthouse next time we visit. It was $10 per adult and worth it.

Very nice island. You CAN walk across but still need to pay when you reach the other side. Lighthouse was under construction while we were there but still a nice visit. Just be warned that there is a good amount of buying flies around the water on the island. They are pretty potent as well.

Very neat spot, although there's not as much to see during the off-season. The drive getting here is also absolutely beautiful with all the pine trees alongside the road!

A breathtaking place at Door County. A tractor ride to the island will give you an ancient feel. The view from top of the lighthouse is truly amazing. Have few openings to move close to beach and water. A visitor center is there to buy souvenirs. $12 ticket is required for each adult. Highly recommend to visit.

I would say this is most definitely NOT worth $12 a person. If we would have known it was going to cost that much, we would not have gone. That being said, it is very beautiful. I'm not that into historical buildings, I'd rather read a history book, but the view from the top of the lighthouse is magnificent. The shoreline is rocky and sandy and our daughter had fun climbing all over and pretending to be the Little mermaid.

Cana Island lighthouse is one of the many we were lucky enough to tour while vacationing in the area. We dedicated three out of seven full vacation days to visiting Door County and touring small towns, lighthouses, and maritime museums.
The tour was excellent and the walk across the causeway was easy but a little ankle-twisty. We wore good walking shoes but hiking boots with ankle support seemed a better option to navigate the rocky terrain.
You can take the tractor across the causeway, but it was dry when we visited, and still hadn't made it across in the few minutes it took to walk it. Most people of all fitness levels can easily manage if not mobility impaired. I wouldn't recommend the walk if relying on a cane for assistance.
We took the easy stairwell to the top for an excellent view. We are in typical shape for the average, American, early 50s couple - we carry a few extra pounds, and we were able to manage the stairwell easier than we expected.
If you have an aversion to vault toilets and porta potties, be sure to use a public restroom in town before visiting.
The tour and the view are worth the price of admission, the time dedicated, and the effort to get there.
We recommend allotting approximately an hour to an hour and a half time to explore the grounds, take the tour, and shop in the gift shop.

Beautiful lighthouse that you can climb up in. The climb was a little difficult for me as I am a disabled veteran with both knee and feet problems. There was however landings along the way where you can stop on your way up and on your way down. Beautiful beautiful place.

Very informative and wonderful views. The grounds are beautiful and you can tour the living space as well as climbing up to the top for a windy walk around the top. If you are in Door County, I highly recommend taking some time to experience this.

This island museum is a must see!
We got a ride over to the island, which is walkable if the volunteer is not available.
There are all kinds of displays in this exhibit, that give you a sense of lighthouse culture. They would also board visitors so they were kind of like travel centers
You can climb the lighthouse for a view - it certainly was windy and cold when we were up there but still worth the climb, of course
Also a gift shop with souvies and more history of the lighthouse facility
Shop dog is a good boah

The wagon tractor across to the island is super helpful and very convenient. The kids were not fans of the vault toilets, but understandable the need for them with limited plumbing. The lighthouse was beautiful and busy. We were able to climb the 97 steps on the spiral staircase to see the view from the top. Amazing view, not for those afraid of heights!

Different from other light houses. The location itself makes it unique. Travel/Walk to the cana island from the parking also makes it unique. Climb to the top of the light house for stunning 360 degree views. It is very scenic. It also has museum and a gift shop.

Cave Point County Park is a natural wonderland located on the eastern side of Door County peninsula near Whitefish Bay. It boasts stunning coastal cliffs, rock formations and sea caves that attract photographers, kayakers and even scuba divers. Visitors can take an easy Black Trail hike starting at Whitefish Dunes State Park Parking Lot to view these popular natural landmarks along Lake Michigan.
Short hiking trails along the shore were great, loved all the rocks. Water was very clear. Cliff jumped here in the past and was fun but water was a little shallow that day. Beautiful place!

Excellent snowshoeing and beautiful frozen features all winter. Exercise caution if you are nearing the edge of the ice as Wisconsin natives will tell you it has a bit of a dangerous reputation in the colder seasons. Unfortunately tourists leave little rock statues all over the place in the summer which takes away from the natural aspect of the serene rock beaches. One of Door County's hidden gems.

Very beautiful park, the waves were pounding the shoreline with 5-6 foot waves, you definitely wouldn’t fall off into the water, you’re about 15-20 feet above the water, spectacular wave action against the rocky shoreline, very uneven walking paths, but would like to return!!

I can’t believe the sheer beauty of this park. It was a very short walk to some gorgeous views - people of all ages and athletic abilities will find it easily accessible. There is some rough terrain by way of roots as you get further along the path, but nothing too serious. The water is so clear and the cliffs are incredible. I would spend every day here if I could.

What's a fun shop to go to! A nice woman at a grocery store told us about this place when I told her about how I like to do some fun tourist type stuff when I go through different States and she said this was a must stop and she was absolutely correct. The woman inside who helped us with different things was so lovely and even took a few different cheeses to have get cut so I could try a few different cheese instead of buying a large chunk of one cheese. She helped my kids choose what ice cream flavor they want and made the checkout process and everything smooth. The store itself was clean and had lots of fun stuff to look at. We got cheese ice cream, magnets, salt water caffeine, and some small souvenirs as well . It was a great stop and let us feel some of that Wisconsin love!

This was more of a gift soup than a cheese house. Still a great variety of cheeses, sausages, and gifts. Bought a couple coffees, cheeses, and sausages for the road. Excited to try it out. Ice cream was pretty good! I’d recommend the black cherry over the vanilla or vanilla with fudge.

This stop was a last minute idea, but I'm glad we decided to do it. The atmosphere was great, the ladies behind the counter were very friendly, and helpful, and the ladies were so nice, I almost feel like we could have left with a Hug from everyone of them, including the feisty one, if the Rona wasn't going around. The selection of souvenirs, Cheese, Meats, shoes, and miscellaneous stuff you don't need, but can't live without is excellent. So if your in the area passing throug like we were, make sure and stop in and see the ladies, you might just leave with a smile, an ice cream cone, and a trunk full of new stuff you never new you needed, like we did 😁

For this place being a CHEESE shop there wasn’t much cheese. I capitalized cheese because that word was plastered all over the billboards. There was way more Moccasins, tourist clothing & Door County wine funnily enough for it not being Door County. $80 Moccasins, $70 mittens & 2 small coolers of cheese & meats.

Very cute local shop with friendly staff that has souvenirs. I came with a group of 9 people and we all found some nice items for affordable prices. I got a bag of curds, two cool mugs, a tiny hedgehog, a blueberry soap bar, and a nemo fish figurine. The only thing I could really recommend is having some smaller bags of curds. I was hesitant with buying them because it was a big portion and I wasn't sure if I'd like them.
Door Peninsula Winery is an award-winning winery located in Carlsville, Wisconsin. It offers tours of its state-of-the-art production line and tastings of over fifty different wines made from various fruits and high-quality grapes. The winery is situated in a former schoolhouse and has been producing wine for over forty years. Visitors can enjoy their wine tasting experience either in the charming garden or atmospheric tasting room.
I made my way here, because the distillery is in the building with the winery. We stopped at the outside patio first. It was lovely and the staff was very helpful. I had no idea how to navigate the space, and the bartenders outside were very patient and gave some advice on the best way to go through the business.
There was short line for the wine tasting and we were greeted while waiting. I was told how the testing worked and given a menu to review while in line.
It was certainly worth the wait and I do recommend factoring some extra time to try the wines and enjoy the information from the staff.

Was a lot there. Wine and distillery. Went for the wine. 5 free tastes. Stand at the bar and taste. Nothing for Gluten free people to nibble on between wines. Made it harder to experience each wine to their fullest. Didn't like any of the 5 so I ordered a glass of another on a leap of faith. Didn't like that one either. Tasted 10 but didn't find any that I really cared for. To have with our glass of wine I went into their fudge and cheese shop and paid for some very over priced cheese curds and meat sticks..pre packaged. We went out to have our wine and snacks on a balcony off the distillery area. Not a great view but was ok. Sooo not the experience we really enjoy. The wine was meh.. But they have a Lot of flavors we didn't try. The staff in the wine department were very good. Staff in the cheese shop pretended you didn't exist. They might have something for you though... It's a matter of taste and style of tasting you like. We won't be back though.

I visited several wineries while in Door County with Door Peninsula being the first. It was very hard to visit some of the other wineries after being here first. There is so much to discover here from over 50 delicious wines a distillary with flavored moonshine, Bourbons, other liquor, cheeses, dips gifts and an amazingly spacious building. I love sweet fruit flavored wines and these were fantastic.
I started out with a bad experience in the distillery sampling bar where I absolutely could not get a bartender to take my money even after 20 minutes standing there with a completed sample list and cash sitting on the clip board. I understand first come first serve but if poeple were so indecisive as these individuals were, there was no reason that they couldn't served me and returned to them when ready. I was so upset that I almost headed to my car before seeing the rest of the building. The process of serving people absolutely needs to be changed!
I was so disgusted that I headed toward the front door and at the last second, decided to see what else was being offered. I enjoyed the company of a super hard working bartender, which I dont remember her name but she was definitely a multitasker unlike the two ladies in the distillery area. She handled at least a dozen peoples orders and was able to keep track in her head how many each person had taste tested and what kind. Between the bartenders actions and the amazing array of other things to discover, my image of Door Peninsula was restored before I left the building. I really wanted to purchase something from the distillery but never went back.
Bigger inside than it appears when you first approach, this museum contains far more gems than just artifacts from the Peshtigo fire. This is truly a labor of love from an entire community, with a bounty of donated antique items that give a glimpse into life in this area in the 18 and 1900s.
Plan on at least an hour, there's a back room and basement absolutely packed with info and exhibits. There's also a cemetery with informative plaques and a mass grave at the back. Very small, very reasonably priced gift shop, admission is free will donation.

Well done history museum. The 1871 fire was the deadliest forest fire in US history, but it's not well known since it happened the same day as the Great Chicago fire. This museum has several floors of stuff, some of it salvaged from the aftermath of the fire, much of it donated by people living here. The cemetery next door has a mass grave of unidentified bodies from the fire. Peshtigo is a small town, but very aware of its history. Worth a stop!
Jackie LaVaque — Google review
Was really hoping this was going to be more than it was. Very little actual artifacts from the fire or things about the fire. It should actually be called the Peshtigo history Museum. We actually found the cemetery with nice historical signs much more interesting. For such a major event in history this deserves a better representation of the tragedy that took place. Peshtigo is missing out on an opportunity to capitalize on this and should consider investing in redoing this museum.
By all means still stop and check the museum out and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in this fire. The cemetery is located on the same grounds.

A must-see for any firefighter family or history buff! We loved getting to see this place that is such an important part of history.

Great museum, the staff are nice
Most of the stuff in this museum are not related to the fire (know this if you are on the fence about visiting), but I didn't mind as a lot of the non-fire artifacts were interesting to me, though not as interesting as the artifacts related to the fire
To name one of these (fire-related) artifacts, there was a can a fruit that was so badly burned that it looked almost exactly like some volcanic rock that you'd either find in a collection or a museum
I spent around an hour and ten minutes here (this includes the cemetery next to the museum)

The museum itself is very interesting, it is free, but we did give a donation. Please consider donating if you visit this place, it truly is a treasure. Did you know the Peshtigo Fire and the Chicago Fire were on the same night?! Visit for a lot more cool facts.

My nine year old daughter suggested we visit. She recently learned about the Great Chicago Fire in school and when we told her the Peshtigo Fire happened the very same day she was very interested in learning about it. Our whole family enjoyed it. It was a historical journey into the history of the times and both my teenager and my daughter enjoyed it. There are some stairs involved to get to certain areas so may not be ideal for handicapped or small children in strollers.

It was great to learn more about the Peshtigo Fire and see a few artifacts that were saved as well as learn some moving stories. Personally I wasn't as interested in the period pieces that were there - and that was the VAST majority of the museum - but I'm sure others would be. That's the beauty of this place - to see what directly pertained to the fire didn't take that long - but if you wanted to stay for hours, you could. We didn't spend much time in the cemetery because they were waiting to lock the gate - I would've liked to have explored more out there - but we did see the mass grave. My only complaint would be their hours - closing at 4p on a Saturday in the summer was nuts, especially when there were probably 10-15 people there. And we got lucky that we even got in the cemetery - I heard others express interest in going in but were turned away because they were closing. I understand it's run by volunteers but I thought it was a bit rude to chase folks away. Especially when they rely on donations ...
The Farm serves as a living museum and visitor center situated on a working farm that is only open seasonally. It offers visitors the opportunity to interact with baby farm animals such as lambs, piglets, and goat kids while also showcasing exhibits about rural farming and heritage. This is an ideal location for children to learn about agriculture as they can get up close with various animals ranging from chickens to cows.
If you’re an animal lover, you can definitely enjoy this place at any age. I had a great experience visiting The Farm during our trip to Door County. All the animals seem so well cared for an happy. It’s very interactive which I love! My favorite parts were being able to feed the baby goats milk with a baby bottle and cuddling with the kittens. Such a warm an loving environment!

So much bigger than I expected! We should've allotted a lot more time. The baby goat feeding and animal feeding was such a small part of what we did. So many different animals besides those. Some pretty trails through the woods. Cool old farm equipment and vehicles. Gorgeous, huge, and diverse vegetable garden. Tons of different educational buildings (I learned about bee trees and stump fences!). If you’re just bottle feeding, waiting to hold a kitten, and leaving then you are missing out. Absolutely worth the admission price (which they take cards or cash for, bottles and corn for feeding cash only). I only wish (and maybe I missed it) that they had a hand washing station towards the exit outside of the bathrooms.

Hands down one of my children’s favorite places to visit. The kittens and piglets are always a favorite. I recommend coming when they just open- the animals are more awake and interactive. Similar to children they thrive in the early hours then need a nap in the afternoon. We love to bring a picnic and pause to enjoy our morning with our own lunch before walking the trail, feeding Gerry the Cow and milking a goat too.

The Door County Maritime Museum is a waterfront museum showcasing exhibits that delve into the maritime history of the region. It houses an array of remarkable artifacts such as vintage maps, model ships and memorabilia for visitors to explore. The museum also features a restored tugboat, John Purves, and a historic Coast Guard vessel moored outside. Established in 1969, the main building has a distinctive ten-story high lighthouse tower that overlooks Sturgeon Bay and its marina.
Is a great learning experience about all the ships that went down in the waters around the door peninsula. The sights to see from the new tower that they built are breath taking. Definitely a place to stop and see and learn all about the ships, crew, the lighthouses and what made door county the great place it is today!

I've been wanting to check this museum out since seeing it on one of the Door County Trolley Tours a couple years ago. We finally made a Sturgeon Bay trip happen and we stopped in finally. It is a very cool thing to do for $30. My wife and I went and had a very educational time. There is so much that I didn't know about this area and Wisconsin history as a whole. The observation tower is really cool and you can see for miles!! The ability to see all the Marina's and boats going up and down the waterways is neat. I've been into boats and Maritime things since I was a kid. Seeing the history of Sturgeon Bay and its boating history was really cool. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone interested in history, boats, maritime history, and it's good for families and kids.

This is a wonderful museum on the Sturgeon Bay waterfront that educates the visitors about boats, ships, and lighthouses, and the people who’ve built and operated them through the years. We toured the new tower first (with great views from the top), and then the older section with the wonderful boat exhibits, beautiful mural, videos, and interactive displays about the many shipwrecks and how to operate a boat safely and competently. Right before they closed we bought a T-shirt in the nice gift shop, where the friendly employee told us we could come back the next morning for the tugboat tour. We did, and the competent tour guide (who had been a boat operator himself) showed us the 149-foot John Purves Tugboat that had been restored after being built in 1919 and traveling long distances in dangerous waters. Usually seeing only small tugboats in the Savannah River, we were amazed that this very large one was designed for a 13-man crew for long trips and had private bedrooms and bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a large engine room. (We read recently on the website that this tugboat is being repaired and will be open for guests again May 1.) This is a high quality museum, and we enjoyed our time there!

I went with my daughter in law and 2 grandkids and it was really cool. All of the history of Door County was interesting and the interactive displays were informative. We really enjoyed looking at the models of the boats as well. We will be back!

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The building was clean and pretty well laid out. I was just expecting much more, so it was a bit underwhelming. My expectation was elevated since it was billed as a top area attraction in many Door County brochures. It wasn't terrible by any means, just okay

Huge museum, we enjoyed about 3 hours there. We didn't expect to be there for so long but were pleasantly surprised.
We paid $5 extra for the tour of the tug boat and that was so worth it! It was great to see the restoration work up close and really appreciated all the history included in the tour.
Going up and down through the tower was also a very nice aspect of the museum.
We learned a ton of maritime history and had fun.

This is a very good museum that told the extensive history of shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. The displays are excellent t particularly he history of this town’s role in WW II production of wartime ships. Give yourself several hour to watch the various videos at the different displays. Take a tour of the tugboat and go up the tower for a panoramic view of the harbor. A lot of good information on the building of the canal and the role of the local Coast Guard. Many different model

Great history lesson on ships and shipbuilding in Wisconsin. We enjoyed an hour in the Tower Tour and another hour on the Tug Tour. The Tower Tour had a fascinating 11 minute video followed by a ride to the tenth floor of a museum with each floor being a different theme. I didn't know how big of an impact Wisconsin had in the nations ships! Our Tug tour was unique, Larry our docent was full of facts. The stairs are steep, but plenty of handles to hold on to. I recommend spending the $20 per person and doing both tours!

Nice museum, depending on what you are looking for. It was windy the day I went, so the balcony was closed at the top of the tower, so views behind glass were all you could get. Each story below had a little room with info on different things, and there were a few rooms on the main level as well.
The website said tours of the tugboat, but was never mentioned with paid admission. Not sure if it was a separate cost, or you could just go outside to see it.

Wonderful museum with a great view of sturgeon Bay. Has a fantastic simulator to let you try your hand at driving a large boat through the bay. Museum also contains the original Fresnel lens from the Raleigh Point Lighthouse. The tug was closed for the season, maybe next time.

We are tourists from Kansas visiting the area and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed learning about Maritime history at this museum. The museum is well-organized and informative, with exhibits that are laid out in a logical order. We started at the top of the lighthouse tower and worked our way down, with each floor offering a new exhibit. We were so fascinated by all the information that we could have easily spent all day here.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. In our opinion, this is one of the best museums we have visited. If you’re a fan of museums, you won’t want to miss this one!

This place is amazing!!! Very clean, organized, and maintained. There is so much to do exploring and it has a neverending learning environment about Maritime ships.
There are ten floors, each one unique to visit. All the floors are accessible by elevator and stairs to find something new and entertaining for all ages. Hands on interactive games and stimulation for a positive learning experience.
A little pricey but it is worth every penny spent. Wheel chair and disability accessible. Very child friendly with many hands on interactive games to explore with the family.
The front desk staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer any and all questions as needed.
This business is open year round, as the ship tour is only seasonal open in May through the summer months only.
Overall a great time spent here, two thumbs up and you will not be disappointed. Definitely coming back to explore again as there was so much to do and see, not all was done in a day.

This is a very nice museum. There is a lot to see here and read. We did the Tugboat tour also and I would highly recommend it. It took five years to restore it to the beauty it is today

Went to share in the swearing in of our daughter into the Coast Guard Reserves. She spent six years serving our country and is now onto her next big adventure rebuilding war birds.
The tower is amazing. You need to watch the video before going up. Take the elevator to the top, enjoy the view, then walk back down and experience each floor. They did an amazing job on each level explaining the history of Door County.
Once you're done with that, roam all the areas on the ground level. Tons of things to see, read, and learn.
It was nice to know that active duty are free and retired military have a discount. Regardless though, it's worth every penny for the entrance fee.
Awesome job to the Maritime Museum!!
Von Stiehl Winery is a well-established winery located in Forestville, Wisconsin. The winery has been producing delectable wines since 1967 and boasts of over 40 varietals to choose from during wine tastings. Von Stiehl Winery prides itself on being the oldest mercantile Vineyard of Door County in the Wisconsin Peninsula.
Went here yesterday, and it was a fun experience. I did the wine tasting and ended up with the Sangria. Nice location, just a small walk to Lake Michigan.

One of the best winery's in Wisconsin. Very good wine wonderful staff its very nice when people remember you even if its been a while since your last visit. They also have a great family plan that can save you money and gets you more wine several times a year.

Nice outdoor seating with a tasting area. Something some of the other wineries in the area don't have. They even have a snack menu. Personally I am not a big fan of wine, so to me their wines are of same quality of competators. However, they have 2 ales I really liked.

So first time there what a cool place to visit. The people are so knowledgeable about the building, the fonder of the wine, and the wines themselves. We ended up enjoying all the wines we tasted I would highly recommend stopping by and giving them a try. We did and walked out with 3 bottles.

Our favorite Wisconsin winery!! We love the wine and the wine tasting is the best. Von Stiehl also has a nice outdoor seating area with a nice view where you can enjoy a full glass of wine. We stop here every time we go to Door County.

My favorite Wisconsin winery. We stop every time we are in the area. Also joined the wine club to have some shipped home throughout the year. I love that it comes with a cheese pairing each time. The staff is knowledgeable and there are so many options for wines. Everyone can find something they like here. And it’s a beautiful building. Highly recommend.

Wonderful winery. Beautifully renovated 1868 brewery, now a winery. Fun and creative gifts. During the summer months they have live music on the outside patio. Luv the wines - personal favorites include gewurztraminer, sassy sangria, and naughty girl.

We had the best time here- they’re already ready for the holidays🎄❤️ some of our favorites were the sparkling viognier & chenin blanc (would be great for NYE) brewvino (great for steak), and the holiday wine (can be warmed on the stove priced reasonably and so festive)!

Quite a busy place with a large wine selection. We went at 10 to beat the rush and were greeted right away and picked our selections. Unfortunately, the person working with us wasn't the most friendly and spent very little time with us, even though she only had one other couple at the time. Would like more history, a better explanation of the wines so you don't feel like drink up and leave. We did buy 19 bottles even though the tasting experience was not what we expected.

I can't say enough great things. We were running behind and weren't going to make it there by close. I called because I wanted a special bottle of wine for my mom and Don stayed open and waited for us past closing. He was patient, friendly and helpful and didn't rush me once I arrived. Can't to go back when we can experience all the Winery has to offer. Thank you again Don!!

I visited today and had a fantastic tour! There is so much more history involved that I learned about. To think that sailing ships came that tiny bit in from Lake Michigan with cargo was fascinating. The tunnels below were so cool to see. We didn't see any ghosts though. Don't miss the party room on the fourth floor (third if you don't count the cellars) where a lot of historical items can be viewed. There were several wines I really liked and I bought two home to enjoy. Thanks to Donna for a very informative tour.

Decided to come check this place out while visiting some friends in Door County. We heard a lot of good things and stopped by today.
It’s a very cool place with a lot of different options. I really liked the Mourvèdre in my tasting and decided to get a bottle of that.
Heidi was very patient and explained everything to us. She made our visit very pleasant and enjoyable.
The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is a 43-acre facility located within the Brown County Reforestation Camp that features a variety of animal exhibits and special events. Admission for adults costs $11 per person, while children under a certain age are admitted for free. The zoo offers several activities like gemstone mining and giraffe feeding for an additional cost, as well as a gift shop. Visitors can enjoy walking trails and picnic areas outside the main entrance. All proceeds from admissions, concessions, etc.
GREAT place for kids! Of ALL ages. Lots of strollers and on Mother's Day today, all mother's get in free! And all mothers got a plant. I picked up a tomato plant. And a big bag of candy. All for free. Fun, not too big, and free food to feed the goats and alpacas.

This was a pretty small zoo but it was pretty awesome. All the animals here looked very well taken care of. The grounds were clean and the staff was very friendly. It was very inexpensive to visit as well, which is a bonus! Probably the biggest lion I have ever seen. Glad we visited!

I can't wait to revisit in the summer. Very family friendly and well laid out. Very reasonably priced as well. We loved it even though all of the animals haven't made it out to their warm weather exhibits there was still so much to see. They also host camps for kids in the summer, intern opportunities for youth who are interested in getting into zoology, and there are also some cool adventure park options apparently during the summer like a ropes course and a canopy walk above the zoo exhibits! Even our 15 year old can't wait to go back!! A must due road trip no matter where you are in Wisconsin!

Great time, of course not all animals were in the mood to entertain. Definitely will be back. Also the Adventure Park was a lot a fun also, zipline and rock wall. Friendly/knowledgeable staff. I would advise checking the website for hours/rates as well as what time of year certain portions of the adventure park are a available.

Very nice & nationally accredited small zoo. Better to bring a picnic on weekdays tho', bcz the cafe wasn't open when we were there at lunchtime. Reasonable prices. The 2 giraffes weren't too cooperative with getting their photo taken. They are constructing an overhead walk, which should be fun to do next year.

Very cool zoo with some amazing animals.
To get up and close to many of the animals though, there is extra fees and you have to pay for a better experience. Even the petting zoo was not open due to short staff but you would think they'd be open knowing multiple field trips where happening? I'm not sure. But we had a great day and the staff in attendance were super friendly.

It was amazing. Getting to feed the giraffe lettuce was something I'll never forget. The people that work there were amazing. And the bathrooms are clean. Yes that does matter.

Adult admission price is $11/person. I'm certain children under a certain age get in free. ALL proceeds (admissions, concessions, ext.) stay within the zoo itself! You can purchase different size bags to "mine" for different gemstones, you can feed the giraffe for $1, decent little gift shop. Was just a great place to visit and relax. Bring your walking shoes! This place has a lot to offer it's visitors! Free parking, walking trail, and picnic area outside of the main zoo entrance. Definitely planning on going back again and soon!

Fun zoo! First time ever going. We usually go to Milwaukee but we just didn’t feel like fighting the crowds on Fathers Day. The NEW Zoo offers free admission to fathers on Father’s Day so that was nice. Feeding the Giraffe was a blast! A couple areas of the zoo were unfortunately closed due to short staffing but it’s tough to be upset because that seems to be the case just about everywhere these days. We all got in for $20 and it took about an hour to see it all. Perfect for our little family, especially with the baby.
Collin Gerk — Google review
A nice zoo it's small so it won't take too long but there's a variety of animals to see. I suggest coming early or later because that's when they feed the animals so they'll be most active. I heard you can also sign up to ride along with the feedings.

This is a nice playground.🥳 Definitely an adventure playground. 🤸 It's not just the typical swing set.🛝
There is a short path 🚶around it. Which is why I passed by lol
The pond could use some attention. It needs to be cleaned and possibly a fountain installed. The covered bridge is a nice touch but it doesn't have any cutouts inside of it 🤔
There are plenty of picnic tables.🧺

I love visiting this place! It's on the smaller side compared to some of the zoos I've been to. But they've got some cool animals in there. Like their albino crocodile and snow leopard. We feed the giraffes just about everytime we go!

Our family had a wonderful day at this Zoo! We called ahead to see if the restaurant was open (yes!). We enjoyed meandering thru about half of it before getting lunch. Lots of options our 3&6 yo approved of.
There were many animals out, and some not which is to be expected on a hot day & thankful they had spaces to hide. Kiddos had a wonderful time& little guy was able to walk the entire way (many folks had wagons and strollers along tho). Staff were very friendly, the signs were informative, and a very clean zoo. Great day!!

A must-see destination for the Green Bay area. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it keeps getting better with every visit.
The staff and volunteers are so kind and informative. The gentleman who helped us feed the giraffes had so much patience with my group, which included 4 young kids, while still keeping up with questions. Another attendant at the gate noticed as we were leaving that my son didn't have shoes on and asked if that was intentional in case we had lost his shoes in the park (not to worry, it was intentional).
There's a wide variety of animals to visit, and you can plainly see they're cared for. The information at the exhibits is informative and honest - they explain why Helen the badger tends to spin or why there's two red panda exhibits.
There's a loop just for the animals of Wisconsin and a huge "canopy" walk way to visit the moose and various animals in the shelter that's great for kids. We went at an off-time, but normally, the barn area is open, and you can pet various animals too.
We loved seeing the peacocks roam around the zoo today! When my kids are older, I can't wait to have them try the ziplines. There's something here for all ages and something new each time you visit, just a wonderful zoo!

Really nice zoo for the Green Bay Area! It is not too big and easy to walk around and see all the animals; especially with young children in strollers. I would say it is very family friendly and the cost is pretty reasonable as well. I think my favorite animal was the giraffe! I can’t believe this small zoo has them, so that was pretty neat to see! There is plenty of parking amongst two different lots. One is right across the street from the entrance and the other one take you on a little nature path stroll to get to the entrance. Highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area!

NEW Zoo & Adventure Park in Green Bay is a small zoo with many animals native to WI, but that's what makes it cool. You can get closer to the animal exhibits than you can at a lot of other zoos. It's well-maintained, clean, and a nice place to walk around and see the animals. The price for admission is also affordable, and they have a cute gift shop.
The only downside to the NEW Zoo was the woman working the front entry. She was extremely rude. She yelled at kids coming in for talking, was snippy to someone who called in, and was short with people entering the park. The other friendly staff looked embarrassed.
Overall, it was a nice and quick visit that was worth it. The adventure park aspect didn't appear to be open while we visited, and they did have posts about being short staffed but this didn't personally affect our visit.
The amusement park Bay Beach Amusement Park is perfect for those who are looking for a little fun in the Green Bay area. With rides and attractions such as bumper cars, a Ferris wheel & slides, the amusement park has something for everyone. Located near the mouth of the Fox River, Bay Beach Amusement Park is perfect if you're looking to have some family fun.
Still a great experience after all these years! Free admission, free parking, ride tickets are only twenty-five cents, and all the rides are 4 tickets or less. There are several food shacks, a gift shop, playground, restrooms, shelters, and many different rides. You can ride on two different miniature trains and/or the ferris wheel to take in some spectacular views of the bay.
This is a fantastic place to take your kids for a day of fun! Highly recommended!
Many gyms and Pokestops for the Go players

Amazing park to take the kids. Ride tickets are only 25¢ (some rides take 2 or 3 tickets) so it is affordable for almost everyone. The small train ride is especially fun. It is right next to the bay with several concession options. Pretty park surroundings. There's mini-golf and go carts across the street. A great animal sanctuary within walking distance.

There were so many fun rides for the kids. Some of the rides aren't as adult friendly as we wished they would have been, but we enjoyed most of them! Our children aged 5 and 9 enjoyed all the rides they went on! The bathrooms were clean, the playground area is shaded enough to provide some respite from the heat. The food in the Cafe area was very delicious as well! Most rides cost 2 tickets. The huge roller coaster is 4 tickets a person. Our youngest enjoyed the train ride around the grounds. We highly recommend this place for cheap fun with kids.

A very family friendly establishment! I have visited the amusement park and picnic areas too many times to count and each time I have always enjoyed the rides, the atmosphere of the environment, the relatively quick lines, along with the professionalism of the staff ensuring both the safety and entertainment of guests.
Also, at the price of 25¢ per ticket and most of the rides needing about 2-3 tickets is really easy on the wallet for fun family entertainment.
It was very refreshing to see new rides being added to the roster like the Zippin' Pippin', Bay Beast and the 100 ft diameter Big Wheel which I got to ride yesterday. I am glad to be able to have such a magnificent place that has attractions suited for both adults and kids alike.
Hope to visit again soon!

A beautiful amusement park for a relaxing day with family. The park has different rides for kids and family. Ride tickets starting from a ticket to 4 tickets. A ticket costs 25 cents. For a family of 4 , 25$ tickets might be sufficient.
You will have a variety of options for lunch and snacks, if you wish you can bring your own food too.
Overall you can spend a day in the park but if you are short on time then only rides and snacks in the park can take 4 to 5 hours.
There are a few rides closed / under maintenance.

Had a great time at this city run amusement park with our two and six year old kids. Lots of rides for younger kids and a few for tweeners like a roller coaster formerly owned by Elvis. Lines went bad on a sunny Saturday morning.
Parking is free, free admission, and ride tickets are 25 cents each, with each ride bring one to four tickets (most are only one of two for younger kids rides).
Small concession stands with more reasonable prices than any park I've been to in a while. Check it out if you have kids and are visiting Green Bay!

Must visit if you are in Green Bay or planning to make a trip in door county.
Beat part is how cheap are the rides. There were almost 8-10 for rides for kids and adults together and 6-8 rides for small kids and we as a family of 3 finished all in 15 dollars.
You can imagine how cheap it is. We almost spent 5 hours there. Beautiful location just next to bay beach . Beautiful weather.
We visited on Friday and it was crowded.

I brought in a Crow with a broken wing that my local city PD/animal control picked up by the neck with a catch pole and threw in the woods to just let it die by slowly suffering until eaten or starving to death! What happened to the Golden Rule, treat others as you want to be treated? For cops they should always ask themselves "How would I feel if my *fill in the blank* was treated the way I'm treating this *fill in the blank*. If they wouldn't mind their mom treated the same way then they should be able to hold their heads high and know they tried their best! As I was leaving, after turning the bird in I got to see a group of turkeys fighting and all of it was 10 to 15 feet away!

We had our wedding in the event space at the sanctuary and it was perfect. We had access to the nature center which has rooms to get ready in. We had many guests who said they had no idea there was a space there but they told us it was beautiful. It is a good mix of modern and natural elements. We got married in January so we took most pictures inside and there was enough room to do pictures and give our 130 guests space to hang out during our cocktail hour. The grounds were also pretty and had plenty of spaces to take photos outside. The coordinator Billi Jo was incredible. She was so helpful and willing to give recommendations or help wherever we needed. Very flexible when a snowstorm requires us to change plans. They are also flexible when we had a family friend do our catering and do not require them to be licensed. We could also bring our own alcohol which was nice because it saved us a ton of money.

Wonderful place to take kids! And TOTALLY FREE! Visiting from NY, we were stunned at how much there was we could see at the sanctuary that was entirely free for us. All kinds of animals: Wolves, big cats, coyotes, deer, otters, turtles, little critters… really cool.
One of the really neat parts was the waterfall walk with the geese and ducks.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame & Museum is a tribute to some of the team's most famous players, and it has exhibits devoted to their history. The museum also has interactive exhibits that are designed to be accessible by everyone.
I visited with my family and it was entertaining and informative. This museum is clean and well organized. I highly recommend it. If you're visiting Green Bay, Wisconsin this is a must go place. I'm conclusion, I really loved this placed, to learn about it's history and unparalleled players, coaches and it's people.

This is a great experience. If you don't have small children with you, I recommend the full Legendary Tour + Hall of Fame. It's $50, but the tour is almost two hours and the Hall of Fame will take at least another hour. You get to see everything (except the locker room and player areas) this way. Going up on the roof and through the tunnel onto the field are pretty cool experiences. We did the 3pm tour, so by the time we got to the Hall of Fame, we were the only ones there. It was pretty sweet to have the whole place to ourselves. If you're a Packer lover, make sure to check out this tour!

I'm not a Packers fan but you can't help but marvel at something so cool. We stopped after a 30 minute drive from Appleton. Came to have lunch at 1919 Kitchen & Tap and wanted to just check things out. Great stadium, great experience and really cool to see. Wasn't too hungry so had some apps as a meal. Chicken tenders, Mac and cheese , fancy deviled eggs. The other gents with me had burgers and soup. Everything was delicious. Definitely be back if in the area.

Absolutely amazing. So much to see and learn. Put together very nicely. Spacious and well thought out. I'd highly recommend checking it out. It could keep your attention and you busy for an hour or more for less than $20.

I travel for work, so I finally got a contract close enough to get there. I really wanted to do a tour but didn't know only X times during the day and I didn't have the time to wait for next one. So I went shopping at pro shop...lol

The hall of fame and field tour was wonderful! What an awesome facility with amazing history. When touring, you get a sense of tremendous pride, and an organization that respects its past while still working towards the future. Even if you are not a football fan, the nostalgia, attention to detail, and uniqueness are truly engaging. I really enjoyed my time here.

Lambeau Field visit. The new Atrium area was AMAZING! Classic tour was the best. The two guides are Awesome! Thank you for the history lesson of Green Bay Packers. 💯% recommend

This museum was very informative. Giving me a greater understanding of just how hard it is to create such history. To be a successful team, owned by their fans. It was very well put together. The displays were just so informative.
I think the only concern I had was the level of comfort they had in letting people in with limited security.
Otherwise, such history here. The tour was really nice, and the game was pretty chilly.
I have to say, the one thing I was truly impressed with is the hospitality here. People were genuinely friendly. Took a couple of photos with your great fans, even though I was sporting another team.
Thank you, Green Bay!

While attending my first game I had the pleasure of attending the Packers Hall of Game. As biased as any fan would be, I'd like to be very as critical and unbiased as possible for this review. There is great information here from of all the greats with amazing time capsule displays and information. The flow of traffic is odd and not as streamlined at best. I felt that some of the newer displays were too reliant on walls with facts printed on them but are offset by the amazing set pieces like the livingroom evolution display and the ceiling bicycles. It's very fairly priced and very accessible. You can spend anywhere from 20 minutes to 4 hours depending on how much Packer history you want to soak in. I highly recommend the hall of fame even if you must power through it at the last minute with limited time but I Highly recommend Purchasing your tickets in advanced and planning for it! Go Pack Go!

What an awesome experience. Went to a GB game, and it couldn't have been better. The stadium, the atmosphere, the HOF.... all of it was great. Every football fan needs to go.

If you are a football fan, this is a most see! If you are a Packers fan, it will blow you away! It's an incredible experience! I highly recommend the Legendary Tour, and a stop in the Pro Shop is a must, with something for everyone. This is not to mention how great the whole area is, especially Titletown! This place is truly a piece of football heaven.

Our Legendary Lambeau tour tickets came with admission to the Packers Hall of Fame and the stadium tour, so we checked those out first. The Hall of Fame & Museum are very well done! The franchise has a fascinating history and is one of the oldest teams in the NFL. It’s so interesting to learn how the team began, how Lambeau Field came to be, about the legends that used to play and coach there, and how the Super Bowl Trophy got named after a Packers head coach. If you love history or football (or both!), you will be very impressed by this museum!

Hands down, the Best NFL museum and attraction dedicated to one team franchise. A bucket list "must see" for any sports fan, particularly Pro Football. This place oozes history, tradition, and a commitment to excellence. So many displays you are almost overwhelmed. Outstanding full floor Gift shop. Restaurant 1919, also in the atrium. If you get to Green Bay, you must visit and be prepared to regret it. Only the Canton Pro Football Hall of Fame can match this towering edifice.

Had a great time on our Cub Scout outing to the HOF and Lambeau Tour. Hosts had so much knowledge and a way to bring you back in time. One of the guys would get all of the kids fired up like pregame coming out of the tunnel. View from the top of the stadium was very cool.

Five star review from a couple of non-sports fan.
There is something here for everyone - not the least of which is some awesome history.
A very well done and interesting history museum even if you've never picked up a football.
There are many different ticket options - the basic tour was perfect for us.
Lambeau Field is a legendary stadium home to the iconic Green Bay Packers. It features a fan shop, hall of fame, and restaurants that are open year-round. The stadium is consistently ranked as one of the best fan experiences in the NFL, and is always packed on game day.
I am absolutely crazy about Lambeau Field. I've been to 3 Packers game, and every single time it's an amazing experience. Me and the family drove from NY to Wisconsin, and it was worth the 15 plus hour drive. There are no fans like Packers fans. The energy and the overall experience is like no other feeling, and I've been to a Super Bowl and that wasn't even as amazing as being in Lambeau watching the Packers play. It's clean, the parking is good, the tailgating is so much fun, and the overall energy is one of a kind. I cannot wait to come back again.

What an awesome place. We did the tour of the field at night. So calm and peaceful. The guide was very nice and gave us a lot of really cool info about the history of Lambeau Field. Went to a game the next day and was very pleased with every aspect. Food was great, lines went fast, all the spectators were very kind and fun to be with. Sadly GB lost… but it was still just a spectacular experience.

Great overall experience. The area is built up around the stadium so there is plenty to do before the game. In the winter they had a tubing hill and ice skating rink. Plenty of food and bar options. Inside we sat in the club level. I never had to wait for the bathroom or for food/drink. Concessions are all grab and go like a self service checkout. Really liked that feature.

I usually make it to a game every year and this year we decided to visit after football season. All I can say is well we are so lucky to have such a historic and beautiful stadium such as Lambeau Field. This is a bucket list visit and if you're you haven't made it here before you really need me to try and get here. Make sure to take the legendary tour and visit the Hall of Fame. You won't be disappointed. Even if you're not a Packers fan.

Attended a December game a couple years back. I was absolutely dreading the cold, however it ended up being pretty warm even with rain. I am not a packers fan, however I loved the atmosphere. The Packer fans we were surrounded by were a lot of fun. I love the surrounding town and how supportive the people who live there are of their local football team

I'm not really a football fan but my brother is and I had always heard about Lambeau Field so I went to take some pictures for him. So strange that it's just in the middle of a neighborhood. I can't even imagine the chaos on game day, but I suspect it is a lot of fun.

Iconic! Family Night was packed with people and activities, and the fireworks and laser show were impressive. A visit to training camp was delightful, and a stroll through the pro shop left me in awe, and I’m not even a Packers fan. Lambeau does things right.

I'm a Bears fan, but have to admit Lambeau Field is awesome. Love they kept it original and added in stages no altering the old. Sat in row 13 on Packers side, very cool to see players close up. Also, people working there and the fans are super nice. Certainly nicer than Soldier Field, and I know I won't get jumped parking in the streets of Green Bay. Just a great experience, but still bleed blue and orange.

Holy Cow! What a beauty! Our first visit and it was Amazing! Although there wasn’t a game going on. The stadium is open to anyone who wants to visit. There are stadium tours that take place every so often each day. The Fan Shop is Awesome! Any Packers fan would go nuts!
We enjoyed our visit, restaurants are open inside the stadium on the first floor. Great service, friendly staff all around.

It was finally time for us to go on the Legendary Lambeau tour, and we couldn’t have been more excited! Lambeau Field is an iconic destination in itself–even when there’s not a game going on! People come from all over the world to see this amazing stadium and learn about Packer history. The tour is over two hours long and a mile and a half of walking–and in our opinion, it is worth every minute and step! Our tour guides Pat and Rick were great and took us all over the stadium. You get to see some luxury suites, go up to the rooftop, sit in the end zone club seats, visit the press box, enter the visiting team’s locker room, and run through the players tunnel onto the side lines. It was so impressive and really incredible to see all the angles and seats we might never be able to experience on game day. And don’t get me wrong, there is no such thing as a bad seat at Lambeau…we just learned that some are way more luxurious than others! I highly recommend this tour; add it to your bucket list!

I've lived in Wisconsin the majority of my life and the 1/2/22 game was my first time here. (I know). It's a beautiful and huge stadium that was relatively easy to navigate. There is a good food and drink selection and all od the vendors are very friendly. I would definitely go again

Crazy cool place. I'm from Michigan but have visited twice. Most recently, I had the opportunity to go on a tour of the Atrium and learn about all the history of the Packers, see the suites above the field, and even walk out through the tunnel that the players come out of. The tour guide did a phenomenal job! My favorite fun fact that I learned was that this field is the last to have all aluminum seats. This is because they are all sold out to seat holders, and have been since 1960; If they made the seats more comfortable, they'd lose about 10,000 of them, and 10,000 people would lose their bought out seats. Very fun!

Attended an excursion with Viking Great Lakes Expeditions on the Polaris Ship. Lambeau is a wonderful place to visit. The tour was all inclusive even taking us through the tunnel the Packers entet the stadium. We went out to field level. Up to the suite levels and the Hall of Fame. The atrium section does have a restaurant and concessions as well as yhe pro shop.

Incredible stadium and always a great time. Such a historic team and facility. Highly recommend taking the tour and seeing the Hall of Fame. No matter where you're seated you get a great view. Parking is expensive in the stadium lot for game day so you either park a mile away or you pay to park on someone's lawn. If you're coming on a game day, plan on getting at least an hour and half early due to traffic.

Went to the Packers game vs Rams. First time here for a game! (I flew from NC to see the game!) What an amazing experience to be at the historic Packers stadium with almost 778,000 fans!!! The fans are out of this world passionate for our team! 💚💛💚💛 So much engery in the stadium. We were in the 1st row, section 114.

Where do I start?
This was my first time at Lambeau and it was everything I expected.. Had a great time from taking a night tour to seeing the Packers live in action against the Saints week 3.. I’ve seen the Packers play 4 times on the road in different cities and they’ve lost each time, so I said I think I have to visit Lambeau to see them get a win and I did just that.. Couldn’t have ask for a better game to see in the Jordan Love era..#GOPACKGO 🧀
P.S. We had one the best tour guides

2023 Week 15 Packers vs. Buccaneers. This was my first live NFL game! Lambeau and the people of Green Bay made this experience one to remember. I came for the history of the stadium and I was in awe the whole time I was in that building for the tour, and on Game Day. The tailgate party outside was amazing. The people of Green Bay may bleed green and gold. Yet they are the friendliest, and most welcoming, bunch of people that I have ever met. Even if I did come to cheer for the other team. Where else can you say that you’ve met/talked/drank with an owner of the home team? I will definitely be back.

This was a nice outing we had to Lambeau Field. I was hoping it wouldn't be too cold for me, but I went prepared and snugged. We drove from Racine, WI, about 2 hours. Since I was with my husband, the ride went by super quick. They have the championship rings with the dates on them, and you can stand in the middle of the ring for a perfect photo, which we took plenty of them of this place to add to our vacation memories. We also got a cheese head hat for my sister-in-law. There was an ice skating arena, which was busy but not crowded, and they had a restroom for guest nearby the I've arena. There were other things around which I didn't take photos of, but if you are looking to go visit this place, do look up information on it so you won't miss out.

I went on the stadium tour while they were re-seeding the grass. I also went through the Hall of Fame, and looked through the pro shop. After, me and my family ate in 1919 where I got buffalo wings which were pretty dang good. If you're bored and on vacation in Green Bay, I would recommend checking out Lambeau Field.

Lambeau had been on the top of my bucket list of NFL stadiums. I was there once in the off-season, and I got to see the Packers play (and win, duh) in Philadelphia. But I wanted the Lambeau experience. I finally got it when tickets were cheap in the beginning of the '22 season for week' 18. I grabbed them. It ended up being the game vs. Detroit which was the "win & in" game. Tickets ended up skyrocketing, and luckily I had an extra one to sell! The Packers unfortunately did lose that game, but I got to see Aaron Rodgers' final game in Green & Gold!
The Lambeau experience did not disappoint! After a nice in-car "tailgate" of a schnitzel sammich and fries, it was time to bundle up well for the Green Bay December night. It was FREEZING, though it was probably only in the mid 20s. The energy in the stadium was something I'd never seen before as the fans were lively the entire game!
I definitely want to come back!

A dream of an experience. The tour was super informative and well done. You get to go all over!! The Hall of Fame tour is exceptional and you really need to dedicate time to go through it all. Every single part of this place is a treasure. The pro shop is very reasonable, the food was top shelf, the sweet Brandy old fashioned was delightful. Get the pretzel wrapped brat! Thank you to everyone who made my first trip to Lambeau better than my wildest dreams. I can't wait to go back.

This was my first time at Lambeau, and I LOVED the experience. We parked in a yard down the street, and it was about a 5 minute walk to our gate. We were there for the Packer/Bear game, and everyone we met from both sides was fun. Loved the history and can't wait to go back.

Well worth the 37.00 for tour. I highly recommend it. Very informative even if not a packers fan. (Which I'm not) (fins up). They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. The history behind the stadium is pretty cool also.
