Spacious venue with geological, historical & cultural exhibits related to the region.
A fantastic museum chock full of interesting artifacts and history of the area. Two floors of fascinating things to see. I had no idea the area was home to so much sports and musical talent. Definitely worth going. We spent about two hours there but wish we had a whole day to take more of it in.

What a wonderful museum. Filled with all kinds of history about Port Arthur and people from Port Arthur. Amazing how many famous people came from there and surrounding areas. Very informative museum!

Great museum that takes you through the inception of Port Arthur to today on the first floor. The second floor is full of great stories and memorabilia from famous folk from the area. I really enjoyed the gallery with the glass upstairs. My husband enjoyed playing Janis Joplin on the jukebox. There's an interesting and insightful showing right now on the collars of great women. The staff is very friendly and happy to answer questions and share information.

We had an amazing time! So enriching, beautiful presentation, the BIGGEST mural I've ever seen, and plenty to interest our entire group! The staff was knowledgeable and accomodating. Robert gave us a tour and we felt very welcomed.

Was in Port Arthur yesterday, and had some time to kill. Decided to visit “Museum Of The Gulf Coast”, after years of only hearing about it.
It’s more than just Janis & The Big Bopper. Recognized familiar names, and learned new ones! It really covers everything about the area, going back even thousands of years.
You bet we took advantage of our senior discounts 😉, and you should too. Everybody was super friendly, + they don’t bug you but rather let you explore on your own.
Will definitely go back with my film camera, and more time, to fully document the entire experience. (It’s so good, my wife even wants to go again)!

Nice museum, it's got alot of history. We really enjoyed it, plus the price you pay is awesome. The staff are really friendly

This is an amazing, extremely well done museum. Exhibits are well laid out and explained. Tells the story of south Texas from prehistoric to current times. Covers geography, exploration, industry, music and sports. Music wing has exceptional depth on local artists and their music. Truly an unexpected gem and great value!

Quiet. Informative. It's a small town museum. The story of the cannon was good -- read that. But take some information with a grain of salt... Only 25,000 soldiers died in WWII... really?!

Amazing museum consisting of multiple topics. One of my favorite in the Beaumont Metropolitan Area. Includes Port Arthur and Orange.

What a great museum, it may be little but it has a big heart and soul with its collections. Definitely stop in, for $8 per adult there’s no excuse to miss it, especially if you consider yourself someone who knows your Texas rock and roll stars. I went there for Janis of course but left wishing I had way more time to peruse the other exhibits. Appreciate the docent who took the time to ensure that I was able to commune with my namesake for a moment. If you are a Janis fan like me, ask them about the bricks for sale, then head over to 4048 Proctor street with your new favorite souvenir.

So much really interesting and cool stuff. At $8 an adult it is worth it. Enjoy the drive over also, lots of real life to see. The history and knowledge held here is timeless and diverse.

A nice little museum tucked away in downtown Port Arthur. It has exhibits on the flora and fauna of the area, Port Arthur and Texas in general, as well as famous Texans (to include Port Arthur native Janis Joplin), musicians, and the oil field. Quite a few interesting Native American exhibits as well.
All in all a nice way to spend a lazy hot afternoon in an air conditioned learning environment.

It was a fine way to spend an hour. The art gallery of local high schoolers actually ended up being my favorite part! The giant mural in the main exhibit area is fantastic, the upstairs music section is fun. We didn’t utilize the touch screens, I’m sure that’s a great asset. Very clean, well thought out facility!
The Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum is a recreated turn-of-the-century town that showcases the history of Beaumont and its oil boom. Visitors can tour buildings such as a saloon and post office, which are filled with labeled items from the era. The museum staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and air conditioning is available in each building. A must-see for those interested in local history, the museum provides an immersive experience into the striking of oil in Texas.
Nice little bit of local history with buildings of the times filled with labeled items of the era. Nice and welcoming Lady at front. Cool how oil was found! A must see for the area.

The Spindletop Museum of Beaumont offers a captivating journey back in time. Each room exudes a unique atmosphere, providing an immersive experience. It’s a delight for kids, and the antique machines add an intriguing touch. Summer visits are enjoyable but be sure to take shade and stay hydrated. Highly recommended for history enthusiasts and families alike.

Small outdoor history museum about the oil boom days. Price is reasonable and there are some good displays. A small negative: They have a couple of "duplicate" buildings such as two print shops. For as small as the museum is, it might be better to have a wider variety of buildings. Still, it's worth a visit. Plan on 30 minutes.

This is a decent place to spend some time. We went for the 123rd anniversary, and the DJ music was a bit loud. However, the other musical opportunities were fantastic! I probably wouldn’t suggest this attraction for beginner museum-goers, as many items are not labeled. However, those with a little historical knowledge under their belts should truly enjoy this little gem.

This is an awesome place to see. We love going when the area. Family friendly. You can spend as little or as much time there as you want walking and exploring the old buildings of yesteryear learning all the unique history. It makes for a super fun, educational and relaxing afternoon. $5 for adults.

What a fun little place to explore & think about how Beaumont got its start. We really enjoyed exploring the buildings & stepping back in time for a little while. They had a quick draw event going on so we didn’t get to see everything. We’ll have to go back again soon & finish exploring.

Unexpectedly awesome little museum! Easy to see very quickly or take your time and still be done in an hour or so. Tools, machines, and lots of daily living artifacts make this a must-see while in Beaumont. The energy in a barrel of oil has freed humans from manual labor worldwide. (And now let’s move on…) Air conditioned throughout and at 12 noon a gushing hydrant shoots 6,000 gallons of water into the sky in 2 minutes! I recommend it!

Must-see in Beaumont! Learn about life in a boom town. The buildings are very well done and stocked full of real items from the time. Cute gift shop! Fans of RDR2 would love visiting here as well. Nothing to do with it just set at the same time.

Great lil museum. Didn't get a chance to see inside ll the buildings but will be back. Hosted the rally kick off and parade line up.
The Art Museum of Southeast Texas is a cultural hub that showcases both permanent and temporary art exhibitions from the 19th century to contemporary works. Despite its modest size, the museum boasts an impressive collection of regional and international artists. Its beautiful building and grounds offer ample spaces for meetings, children's workshops, community activities, and events. Moreover, admission to the museum is free for all visitors who want to immerse themselves in the world of art.
Great Museum. Free Admission , right next to the Texas Energy Museum. Only wish it had a 2nd floor.

Such a beautiful place to happen upon! The staff is so very friendly. Got to catch part of a guided tour presented by the museum curator herself and learned so much! The Sherry Owens exhibit currently on display is very thought-provoking and beautiful.

We entered and wanted to use the restroom before we explored. They stopped us and asked me, “Do you see the signs? The floors are wet. Did you come in just to use the restrooms?” We said no. The signs for wet floor had been set up on dry floors everywhere PRIOR TO MOPPING. The lady started interrupting my questions about where to walk with directions on where we needed to move to so she could mop. Then took out the mop. We stood there wondering what to do, so we asked if we could have a map. The desk attendant said, “Uh, no. We’re small. Two of our exhibits are under construction but you can go see our cafe’.” We looked at each other and laughed. Okay. We get it. You don’t want people in your museum or on your floors. We’ve never been here after all these years. No one was here but us, and they couldn’t have been more quick at letting us know they would rather keep the place empty, clean, and quiet. The desk attendant spoke quite condescendingly to us, like we were idiots from ignoring the wet floor sign on a dry floor. Get new attendants. Who realize visitors must walk in and actually see what exhibits and attractions are there for viewing.

Went on a family art day I found on Facebook. Lots of volunteer helpers and age-appropriate activities for the little ones: clay vessels, Valentines Day cards, scratch art, presidents day beards, mardi gras cookies, and lemonade.
Friendly faces, clean areas, and most importantly, a chance for children to be in an artsy environment.
The gallery had interesting pieces as well, with staff who can explain what you're looking at.
Will look out for more activities throughout the year.

Very beautiful pieces. Wish I could have stayed and admired them longer but their was a woman following us around the entire time, to every room and made us very uncomfortable. We decided to just leave and try again another day, hopefully there will be different staff another day! Otherwise it was great little date stop!

Sea Rim State Park is a nature lover's paradise located close to the Texas and Louisiana Coast, offering visitors 5 miles of beautiful beach and fantastic opportunities for bird watching, nature walks, and wildlife viewing. The park boasts an excellent combination of marshland and beach, where you can watch shorebirds in their natural habitat before heading down to the stunning beach area.
This is a must! Small Texas state park nestled on the Gulf coast near Port Arthur. Stock up first, as it's not super close to gas stations, stores, etc. This park has miles of beach you can walk along. The park staff are excellent, friendly and very helpful. There is a great parking lot for day use. Overnight camping on the beach is an option here - even for RVs. I saw Class A, B, C RVs camping on the beach here. There are also RV sites with electric and water. The RV dump station is across the state highway on the Marsh side of this park where there is a canoe/kayak launch area. They are available for rent on the Marsh side. Get an annual Texas State Parks Pass - it's worth it! Reserve the RV campsites online on the official website.

Wonderful state park, clean campground and miles of beaches to enjoy! There were only two other campers when we were there. Beach is a darker sand and it is quite wild, waters also somewhat darker color. Nevertheless, this is an exceptional place to visit an enjoy an untouched beach, which is rare nowadays. We swam in the ocean and water was warm (end of August). I highly recommend it if you enjoy nature (including some big mosquitoes!)

Very clean state park. We had a great time with out all the crowds to worry with. We will definitely come back. If your looking for a relaxed family atmosphere with primitive beach camping this place will be great. The boardwalk thru the marsh area was a good touch also. Only tip to remember is make sure you apply bug spray first thing so you can enjoy your trip.

Love this park! It's a beautiful location and not crowded. The wildlife is amazing on the back and in the marsh areas. The heat has affected the marsh a lot right now but it's still beautiful. You can drive out on the beach and that was a cool experience! I really like being able to park and literally walk to the water. And oh my the shells! Very beautiful place!

Loved Sea Rim State Park. Make sure to walk the Gambusia Nature Trail which is on the left when you enter the park. It is a wooden trail that goes out into the water and is just beautiful. You can camp here with fairly open sites. There are gators active in the area we saw one just walking around sitting on the side (photo below). You do have to pay to get into the park. It was less than $5. For $5 you get access to the trails and the beach. Campground stays cost more.

UNPLUG!!!
Mid-July on a Tuesday and we shared the beach with less than ten people (& not all at the same time). Nice sandy bottom. Needs some care because of flotsam washing ashore, but it's still nice.
It's not white sand. Plus side is you aren't super sandy. Camp grounds are immaculate. Make sure to read what's available here and be prepared.
Angi Morgan — Google review
We wanted to check out the floating campsite and marsh trails at Sea Rim.
The park is nice, clean, and uncrowded during the week. Composting toilet stations were clean. Park personnel were friendly and helpful.
We were able to rent kayaks (unaffiliated with the State Park) on-site to tour the marsh trails. The rental kayaks and life-vests were not well-maintained. State Park-owned kayaks (provided with the floating campsite rental) were a lot nicer and cleaner in comparison.
We found the floating campsite and while the idea is intriguing in theory; in practice it serves as a bird perch when not in use. Due to it being covered in bird feces, we were not too keen on a future rental. However, park personnel may have the policy to spray it off once a rental is secured??...I would definitely inquire, if I were you.
The moderate trail was a little claustrophobic due to the narrowness of it. And you can only really enjoy the overall view of the marsh from the floating campsite platform.
We enjoyed our time on the kayak trail, but will probably not do a repeat. I do, however, recommend it, just for the experience alone.

It's one of the best state parks in Texas I've been to.
Friendly and helpful staff, cozy campgrounds, wonderful beach, far from civilization, absolutely fantastic atmosphere. And oh, you're allowed to camp on the beach if you're brave enough, with your vehicle!
Have been here more than once, will definitively come back.
Remember to leave the beach in at least the same state you found it. This is a place worth protecting and keeping clean.

Has a wonderful time! The beach was beautiful and it was shallow enough for my daughter to play in the water. Very clean with trash cans everywhere AND dog friendly! Dogs do need to be on a leash though and make sure to bring water. The waves aren't too bad so my dog had a great time also playing in the water. Looking forward to going back!

My friend wanted to see Galveston but luckily I found this spot!! There is something to be said about a beautiful empty beach with no crowds!! The boardwalk the beach was well cared for. Apparently you can drive on the sand and it was only $3 per person. No issue with parking and you’ve got 5 miles of coast line. I wish we could’ve had more time here it was sooo serene

We came here for the Fourth of July weekend and we expected it to be ridiculously busy, but it pleasantly was not busy at all! We camped and RV’d at the state park for 4 days/3 nights and we had a terrific visit! Lots of nature to explore :) BEWARE OF THE MOSQUITOES ~ COME PREPARED TO FIGHT
Cheryl Snow — Google review
I stayed in the RV park in my bus with my two dogs. The area is mostly clean and well maintained. I generally stayed on the section of the beach closed to vehicle traffic that didn't allow fishing. The camping spots allow are pull through and give lots of privacy. The nights are generally quiet, and the night sky is gorgeous. On Monday afternoon, I had the entire beach, as far as the eye could see, to myself for almost two hours. I highly recommend this park.
I didn't use the restrooms, but my friend told me they weren't super pleasant. Something you can expect from a small state park in the hot, hot Texas summer. There weren't real showers like when I came here as a kid back in the day, but there are rinse off showers on the boardwalk.
In previous trips, I've spent time on the marsh side of the park kayaking and will definitely do it again.

This place is very unique however absolutely do not get out of your vehicle until you are covered in bug spray. The mosquitoes are Relentless and there is no getting away from them unless you are a good ways down the beach closer to the ocean. I can't stress this enough, make sure you have bug spray although they do sell it for $12 a bottle at the campground check in. The boardwalk out over the marshy area is pretty awesome. This place is pretty desolate mid December right now. Only a handful of campers here.

Went for a walk on a 70-degree, sunny Saturday. The beach was so clean and smooth! Not many people there at all. Low tide and water was calm and clear. Thank goodness the wind was blowing because otherwise, I would have been carried off by mosquitoes! They were not a bother this time, however.
Lacey Hykel — Google review
Cool little park, but we were not prepared for the magnitude of mosquitoes we encountered while there. I did read some comments before we went saying that the mosquitoes were horrible but took the attitude of how bad could it be? We live in south texas and have mosquitoes where we live... Boy were we in for a huge surprise! We tried to use some natural oils that are supposed to repel mosquitoes but the mosquitoes just laughed at it LOL After just a few minutes of being swarmed, we went to the guard shack and asked for something with DEET, which they provided for $11, $9.90 with our park pass discount. That was our only saving grace. Even with that though, we still had to restrict our outdoor activities and ended up cooking all meals in the trailer and not enjoying the fire ring during the cool nights. The beach was great, and we enjoyed our walks several times a day. The sunrises and sunsets were spectacular! They also have a cool little boardwalk trail out over the marsh. They even have kayak rentals for marsh treks, which we didn't do. But be warned... bring DEET and spray up... multiple times while outdoors! Open and close vehicle doors and trailer/tent doors quickly! And then spend the next hour killing mosquitoes! We came, we saw, not sure if we'll be back...
Laura Curtiss — Google review
Will start with our only con: mosquitoes. As soon as you pull up to check in they swarm your vehicle. Just use repellent and you'll have a good time. Plenty of walking on the boardwalks. The west beach is open to vehicles, accessible from the RV camping loop. There are 15 RV camping sites with electric and water, asphalt pads, fire ring and lantern hook. Primitive camping on the beach. Take what you need, the closest store is about 15 miles away. The closest Walmart will take you 30 to 40 minutes.

BE AWARE: Massive mosquito Infestation at Sea Rim SP as of 12/2023 - and is an ongoing problem. Full details 👇🏼
Giving 4 stars because the park itself is clean and well maintained. The staff/rangers are friendly and helpful. We saw the rangers out every day checking on things and maintaining the property - which was excellent. They all deserve 5 stars!
But dropped a star because potential guests NEED to know about the mosquito situation and the state website should add it as a warning for this campground (like states do with wildfires/burn restrictions and other important things).
Upon arrival, just rolling our window down at the check in, we were swarmed by mosquitoes rushing in to our B van. You can literally not be outside without DEET and even then, we recommend long sleeves, pants, socks and a netted hat would be ideal.
Make sure you cover as many of your outside vents on your rig as possible - the mosquitos will come in through your furnace/fan vents and any other tiny fissure they can find. Yes - covering those vents will also make your rid muggy and humid inside. 🤷🏼♀️ The mosquitoes are worse.
We booked and stayed 4 nights. As full-time RVers for 2+ years, we have stayed in all kinds of places, climates and circumstances. I've never had an issue with this many mosquitos - anywhere. We literally couldn't leave our rig, absolutely couldn't cook outside (we did the first night, but plan to be cooking and eating inside for your sanity and health), and we definitely couldn't build a fire. Carrying trash to the bins makes you a target and you'll literally be covered in mosquitoes, like they are glitter someone through on you (but if glitter sucked your blood 😱).
We saw multiple rigs arrive and leave before their first night started (it's that intense).
Every night before bed, we'd kill as many mosquitos as we could find in the rig (make it a game so it is less creepy to think about). But by our fourth night we clearly had hundreds of mosquitoes hiding out in our 21 foot van. Turned our AC on every night to keep the rig cold enough to, hopefully, make them less active while we slept.
The beach itself is beautiful and the coastal winds keep the mosquitoes at bay there, but that's the only reprieve. There is a boardwalk over inland water that was also enjoyable and fairly mosquito free. Those were the only times we got to experience "the outside".
Our site had partial hook ups, no issue there. The dump station is actually a little less than a mile from the campground (not on site) and as expected, it is a mosquito nightmare to use.
There is virtually no cell service and the Wi-Fi is too slow to be useable. Which is crazy bc you can't be outside and then there is nothing to do inside.
If you book this park - download content and go prepared!

Beautiful area and only $3 for entry. When we went there weren't a ton of people! There were a few campers but we drove down to the beach. No one else was down there and it was a nice peaceful time watching the sunset.
The one minus was the amount of mosquitoes 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟. Definitely bring some bug spray with you!
Erin Facey (Wishmiss) — Google review
Beautiful campground, short walk to the beach, with large camping sites that are grass covered, pull through with water and 50A electric. The beach is sandy, clean and not crowded. The water is very still probably because it is shallow for long distance. Lots of pelicans and seagulls. SUP boarding was fun, with thousands of fishes swimming/flipping around. The kids loved seeing the birds catching, and sometimes dropping, fishes. We also seen the fin of shark(s) that seemed to be hunting the fishes.
The main problem is the mosquito infestation! I've never seen that much mosquito in a long time! Despite all the insects repellent spraying, we couldn't finish the weekend. Had to leave after lunch.
Also, there was a group partying overnight with chats/laughs and very loud music until 5am.
No flush restrooms or shower. There's outdoor cold showers by the beach to rinse.
Gator Country is an excellent wildlife rescue center that offers a variety of attractions and activities to visitors. The park is renowned for its warm and welcoming staff, as well as the diverse range of creatures on display. One particularly popular attraction is the Gator Boat Tour, which takes visitors through stunning scenery in hopes of spotting alligators in their natural habitat. Despite there being no guarantees regarding sightings, many guests find the boat trip enjoyable nonetheless.
We will forever cherish our visit to Gator Country. We took our 3 year old who is obsessed with reptiles and he had a great time. My husband turned into a kid and wanted to touch every single animal that we were allowed to touch. The guides we had were amazing, I cannot say enough good things about them, they made our visit special and were amazing to our toddler. Our 3 year old was the first to touch a snake thanks to one of the guides who made us all feel comfortable right away. The place itself is a bit old and the bathrooms could use some help but the visit was very worth it. The day we went was very cold so they didn't have afternoon shows, however it didn't take away from the fun, my son, husband and I enjoyed feeding the gators a lot and learning about all the precious reptiles they take care of. A must visit from Houston, specially for kids and all reptile lovers. So many gators and awesome animals, very educational as well.

A great place to see alligators. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. This place has just about everything. You have all kind of reptiles and even cold beer. What more could you ask for, oh a military discount which they do offer.

The prices were decent. There was plenty of gators to look at and the whole experience to get to get in the water with the baby gators was amazing! The kids loved that part! They also enjoyed feeding the gators and turtles! The food part of the place was really disappointing as they didn't have many options and the meals only came with plain lays. My advice would be to eat before or after. My sausage link didn't even come with bbq sauce which is why I had gotten it. So food all together was disappointing. But the kids had fun and that's all that counts. Oh and there's also a splashpad that the kids enjoyed as well! Had a broken water thing on it but still was fun for the kids to cool off afterwards!

We took our teenagers here and we all had such a blast! Love how you can walk where ever and can take your time! And we were even able to bring our Australian Shepherd in (on a leash) 🙃 Both kids had enough guts to hold a snake for the 1st time!!!! Great family fun totally worth the trip and $$

We hadn't planned in advance to stop here but when we saw about it on our way we were intrigued to view the wildlife here. Unfortunately I had some difficulty finding it due to construction on I-10. However, I am glad we did make it here. Saw many gators and other very interesting creatures such as big tortoises, snakes, and goats. Staffers were friendly and were knowledgeable and entertaining during the scheduled "gator show." It was too bad we did not get to see the two biggest and most famous gators due to them hiding out from the heat, but I understand the need to respect their behavior and not force things on them. Admission was worth it in part because we know the price goes to conservation and education. They have a small food counter, but we didn't have anything to eat there. There also are different options for different ways to feed gators or have a "bird encounter." Glad we visited here. Maybe we will come back some time when it's a little cooler, since most of the attractions are outside, and then maybe we could meet the two "star" gators.

I will come back. Children like this place so much. The staff here helps children to pet the animals like snake, python, rabbit, dragon, small alligator... There also have tortoises, goat, chicken, and venomous snakes. You can buy food to feed alligators. 12 o'clock is the time of alligator show. You should be here at that time. You will have to pay a little bit more if you buy tickets by card. See the bill in the attached photo. It would take 4 hours playing here

It’s an experience for sure… Lots of gators of different varieties and even a ‘petting zoo’ for the kids, some goats behind an enclosure and turtles roaming in their area.
Looks like some nice updates to the area have been made(new decking and MC area.)
Beer was cold and reasonably priced for a bucket for the adults. Sno cones at $5 seemed a little overpriced for what you get.
Staff was nice and the noon show was informative, unfortunately didn’t include any feeding, told the alligator are still a little sluggish from the winter.
Splash pad was nice for the kids to cool off but had to walk all the way to the reptile house for the restroom. The one close by, was closed.
Oh and the gator scare…

This place is amazing for all ages. We had a wonderful time with the animals and the encounters offered. We went and stayed for at least three hours and could have stayed longer if it hadn’t been so hot outside. They do have air conditioned buildings as well. Overall, this was a wonderful place to go.

We had a great experience here at Gator Country with all the kids and of course, gators😬. They're well gated to protect kids and adults from being in direct contact with the gators.. They accommodated Gator Country with a place to eat, relax, play on the playground with your kids, and there's an open area where you can feed the tortoise. Love it love it!! Just make sure you're supervising your kids.
Rontunya Davis — Google review
Great experience, they have a sort of Petting zoo, consisting of chickens, goats, ducks, tortoises, birds (extra to see them), lots of snakes and more! I recommend buying the food for the goats, tortoises if you personally like them, and trying the bird stick - the gator food isn’t really worth it and the gators don’t care for it much - the animal’s living conditions also aren’t very good at all, but they had a live show and it was super cool, they told fun stories about it and great workers!
Shayan — Google review
We had a great time. The weather wasn’t great so there weren’t any people there, which was awesome.
The people working were excellent. They answered a lot of questions and we learned quite a bit just through casual conversation.
The guy in the main building with all the snakes was super nice and very informative.
We will definitely come back on a better weather day so we can see the show. (Too cold for the alligators today.)
Kristine Taube — Google review
Fantastic experience! We got to feed the alligators, tortoises and even some chickens, goats, geese and emus! Wading with the baby alligators was super fun. They're stronger than you'd expect! The show itself is very informative. In the main building you can interact with other reptiles, snakes, bearded dragons, and more. Great place to visit with the family and to get kids introduced to certain animals, teach them how to properly handle them and possibly lose the fear of some.

We had a fantastic experience! They don't just have alligators, but also tortoises and even some chickens, goats, geese and emus! At the entrance you buy dolifferent kinds of feed for all the animals. Wading with the baby alligators was super fun, but be aware they're stronger than you'd expect! The alligator show is very informative and impressive. The owner was wearing a shirt that said "quick hands or no hands", which was very fitting after seeing how he was handling the gators. In the main building you can interact with other reptiles, snakes, bearded dragons, and more. It's a great place to visit with the family and to get kids introduced to these animals.

Don't fall in! No joke! The experience was awesome but there were a few rotten boards. If you go, which I do recommend, I suggest you look where you step and teach the little ones to do the same.

Oh my goodness. It surpassed any and all expectations. I brought my grandbabies out and it was amazing. I asked the staff their names AND I really wished I could remember them all BECAUSE from the intial encounter at the front till the end it was absolutely incredible. Eddie was a standout for us and Kevin with his grandparents made it extra special for us. I had the sweetest young lady offer to take a picture with me and the boys, thank you, thank you. We saw her later and she gave us the same exceptional service with the snakes. Before we left the boys all got the best hug from Eddie and memories that will live on way after this old granny is gone. Absolutely the best trip ever I have had with my boys.

We had a great time. The kids loved it. Best part is being able to feed the gators. The show is pretty funny also. The owner let the kids know they should stay in school or they might end up in the water with a 14 foot gator... lol. He looks like he is doing ok though!

Took our granddaughters here . We had a fabulous day and intend to go back again.

Jason Catchings is a professional through and through. All the elements he was able to control were done. He was on time each day, the boat and gear were in tip-top shape, the safety measures were in place to keep us from really getting into trouble and he was able to coach us onto fish!
The weather was not an element that could be controlled. In spite of the cold weather, wind, and fog, we still managed to rustle up some nice looking Reds out of the Louisiana Delta. Thank you for making the trip a success

Galveston Naval Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in the history of the Navy. This educational center allows visitors to tour a WWII submarine and a WWII destroyer.
Extremely unique pieces of history on site! Nearly everything inside and out were accessible and it was all free roam. Visitors were allowed to climb onto the exhibits, enter through countless doors, take photographs, and view at their own pace. I would definitely recommend making the trip to this museum for new experiences!

Amazing experience, we got to learn a lot about history. It's worth checking it out. We got to see a submarine for from inside. There are many artifacts from the war. My daughter got to learn a lot. It was fascinate to learn that the ship was built in 7 days. There are more facts that you will get to learn.
Make sure to check the weather before going to the museum because if its lightning they will shut down due to safety reasons so make sure it's not going to thunder or lightning. The park is also good make sure to carry your food because you will find nothing there is no food. The place is very serene and you will enjoy the wind. If you are a fishing enthusiast then you will enjoy the pier.

This was a neat adventure. We were able to completely explore an entire submarine and naval ship, and they are outfitted like they were when they were in use. It was like a step back in time. It took about an hour to see it all, but you could easily stay longer, reading everything. I highly recommend visiting.

Our Scout troop spent the night on the ship this past weekend. The experience was excellent. The staff were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. They gave great private tours of the ship and submarine Saturday night, and the kitchen area for cooking was large and very well stocked. The Scouts had no problem cooking their meals, and we were able to watch the movie Greyhound as well. Sleeping on the ship bunks was an interesting experience as well. I would highly recommend the overnight program to Scout groups or groups of youth who have an interest in history. Thanks to the Galveston Naval Museum for your hospitality and making this weekend a great experience for our youth and adults.

You can buy the tickets as you go in. Great experience. The guys had amazing knowledge. Very welcoming and just a fun experience. Watch how where you put your hands haha I caught my nail on it and didn't know til the end of the self guided tour. Definitely will go again when I conquer my fears of being in tight spaces.
Manda Cottrell — Google review
Wonderful experience. A little pricey but very interesting, especially if you have family visiting who may have served in the military. You're free to explore both WWII era ships. Catching a tour with a docent is a great idea as well.

If you have an afternoon and you want to explore US naval history from WWII, I highly recommend taking a look at these museum ships!
The sub is in excellent restored condition, with the destroyer under restoration currently. Both are relatively easy to walk through during your self guided tour, and both offer a ton of information on the signs located around the ships.
W Davis — Google review
Had a blast, $38 for 2 adults 1 kid. Went in the ship, able to walk in and experience first hand the ship structure and rooms. Also went inside the submarine, and it was so cool! Luxury l portable restrooms, super clean and vending machines on the entrance. The park also allows for fishing and picnics, would totally recommend and go back!

Fun museum. There are two "ships" you can walk through, one is a submarine. It was very interesting and a good family afternoon well spent. They have a lot of history and are very well preserved. I recommend it if you are in the galveston area and have some time to kill.
Lisa Wiggin — Google review
We were able to walk through a Destroyer Escort and Submarine. Both were well documented. It is a bit out of the way but worth it. Plus the park around it was a nice place to watch ships and birds. Fishing is also an option.
Denise M — Google review
Love visiting the destroyer (DE-238) and submarine (SSK-244) built for WWII. The submarine was basically the iPhone of its era: minimalistic on the outside, complicated in the inside, fully functional as intended, and good at what it does. The mechanical designs should remind people how far our technology has progressed in the past century. It's easier to appreciate what is new when we can see and touch what was old (but nonetheless brilliant).
Pin Wu — Google review
This was an amazing experience. We loved walking around the destroyer and submarine, and I am glad we brought our kids too. We had to carry them at a couple points at stairs on the ships, but for under 5 it was pretty accessible (and easier for them in tight quarters in places), and they had a blast. It’s something they’ll definitely remember. Please think about taking your family to see the history, walk around the ships, and remember those lost as well. Bonus: fishing off the pier and a nice park for kids if everyone isn’t into the WW2 history. Bottom line: get off the beaten path in Galveston and check it out! It was well worth the cost of admission to the museum/ships and $6 parking.
Ross Guida — Google review
Interesting naval museum with a ship and a submarine built and commissioned in the 40s. Reasonably priced, between $10-15 for adults. Should take about 1-2 hours to look at both the ship and the submarine and the surrounding park. May be an exciting visit for young kids as well.
Both vessels have a number of items labeled, as it is a self guided tour. Plenty of opportunities for photographs, particularly on the two ends where you can pose with the arms that protect the ships. Would recommend coming earlier in the day during the summer as it’s both hot and humid. Lots of stairs, so would recommend that seniors take care. The submarine had tight entryways in certain locations, so would take care there, too. Both exhibits give a good preview of what life would have been like on either vessel. Would definitely recommend this museum for a quick stop if you’re visiting Galveston!
Ziyan Sheriff — Google review
Nice smallish museum with both a submarine and Destroyer from WW2 which survived the conflict. You can walk through both vessels ro see what life was like on board and there are some staff around to relate stories and history of the vessels. The car park is an additional $10 but you can park all day and there is a park and recreation area next to museum so possible to male a day of it.
Mark Isherwood — Google review
This museum is sort of a hidden gem on the tip of the island. The ship and submarine walkthrough are really fantastic with good information and lots of stuff to touch and get closer to than a normal museum allows. Prices are pretty good, too.
LJ Decker — Google review
I'm fascinated by everything WW2, so my review might be a little biased. There are two vessels to explore. The submarine and ship and it's fun to walk through. That's essentially the extent of the visit though. I think it's worth going to at least once!
Marc Petz — Google review
The tour includes the Submarine & the Battleship. It was a great experience! The submarine is very tight and some walkways are small so be aware of this when going on! The ladders on the ship are steep but very accessible if you take your time! The tour is self guided and self placed also! Enjoy!
Lisa Walker — Google review
Don't miss a chance to visit Zeke the awesome Turtle About Town Sea Turtle Statue while you are here. In our opinion, one of the most awesome of the sea turtle collections.
Very cool piece of history. It has a historic boat and a sub as well as a sail from another sub, so lot of steps and ladders that are steep, but they added in some benches which is great for folks that need to sit.
My opinion is that military veterans should not be charged to visit. They do offer a small discount, but you can get the same discount or better buying the tickets online. It feels a bit cheeky that they are charging Veterans at all.

We have been here twice with our kids and they really enjoying getting to explore and boat and the submarine. It is completely self guided which I like. There are areas inside that have voice boxes that play recordings of parts so you can learn about a certain exhibit. I gave it 4 stars for a couple reasons while my family enjoys the museum I think paying to park on top of admission is kind of ridiculous. We were at SeaWolf Park 4 months ago which is in the same parking lot and paid $6 to park but when we went this last time it was $10. I’m not sure if pricing goes down in the summer or if they charge based on if you’re going to the park or the naval museum but either way I find it ridiculous. It cost us $56 to get into the naval museum and which wouldn’t be so bad if they were accommodations like a little food/drink stand or something. I know the ship and submarine are old but I think they could do better at taking care of the rust and preservation. With the amount of rust on the ship when walking I would let be surprised if they had to block off sections for safety when the rust starts eating holes through where people are walking. Overall, my kids love it, we enjoy it and we will definitely be back again, but I think they could improve their maintenance and stop charging to park in a parking lot that’s connected to a park.
Cassandra Rodriguez — Google review
The submarine is incredible (especially if you are small and like watching your tall friends suffer) with tons of interesting historical details sprinkled throughout. They also have a very well-done "women of WWII" exhibit in the seaport. The battleship is meh. Many sections are not accessible to the standard visitor and there are no arrows or general guidance on the ship, so I was constantly worried I would miss a section. Nonetheless, the submarine and the historical displays around the seaport more than make up for the ship's shortfalls.
My cousin n told us about this spot, best experience so far at the coast! I only have luck catching perch, but my bf caught 2 nice red drum!

The famous Texas city dike. Fishing is big here, lots of beaches for swimming, or just a nice drive to the end. It’s 5 miles if ya go all the way, open 24 hours, very nice old school drive on dike. recommend if your in the area. can be cold and windy in winter. Busy on the weekends and summers, some tables and park style grills available, and the occasional port-a-John.
There’s a real park (rainbow park) located right at the entrance to the dike, as well as a couple bait/tackle shops for any last minute supplies.
charles compton — Google review
I recently spent some time at the Texas City Dike and was struck by its serenity. It was not just a quiet escape but also a treat for nature lovers. Watching people fish in harmony with the surroundings was calming, but the real highlight was the vibrant sea life. Fish frequently leaped from the water, and the shoreline was dotted with crabs nestled in their shells. It’s a picturesque spot that offers both tranquility and a glimpse of nature in action. Highly recommended for a peaceful outing.
Vanessa Benavides — Google review
This place does not disappoint! My kids and I are beachcombers and had heard there were some nice pickings at the Dike. You do have to pay a $10 entrance fee, but it's worth it. There's plenty of piers to walk out on and fish, boat ramps to load and unload your water toys, port-o-cans for restroom needs, and PLENTY of shell beds to comb through!
There aren't many safe ocean entries for swimmers, if any, so this is not the spot to go for swimming.

I go there almost every day it is full of good people and a lot of adventure but most importantly a lot of monster fish, beautiful sunsets and sunrises a great place to go for summer break or all year long

A great very long road for sun, wind, fishing, picnics, swimming that provides water management into Galveston Bay, while offering park services and great water, sun views. You need sticker or fee access, from Texas City. Hopefully, one day they might create a lovely enhanced sand beach.

Texas City Dike is one of those things you have to experience when in Texas City. We like to stop at BOYD’S for crawfish and go to the end of the dike to watch the ships on the ocean as they come into Galveston. Very beautiful drive.
Deb Erney (DebErneydotcom) — Google review
It’s a nice place for fishing and relaxing, highly recommended for family activities. On the right side of the dike, we fish while on the left we can swim, picnic (there are shelters)and also fish. We always go on the weekends, so there’s $10 entry fee per car. Free entry during the winter time. We usually get sheephead, red and black drums and sharks. On the left side(beach side) there are flounders. Potable toilets are available along the beach side and plenty of trash cans on both sides. Ice cream trucks also drive up and down the dike often. The only downside is there are alot of trash on rock sides; plastic containers, empty cans and glass bottles between rocks.
Angela Soupha — Google review
Went on Memorial Day weekend and they were charging $20. It was pretty crowded but we were still able to find a spot to park. It is always a nice place to relax and enjoy the views, however, I kept getting distracted by the trash that people refused to pick up and dispose of properly. The trash cans were also flooded with a bunch of trash so there was no where to really throw it unless you wanted to walk to another trash can which was more than likely also filled to the brim.

If you're looking for a family-friendly amusement park, Kemah Boardwalk is an excellent option. With rides like the Century Wheel Ferris wheel, Boardwalk Tower, and Aviator ride, as well as restaurants like Margaritaville and Frankie's Crab House, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park is also open all year long so you can come anytime - no need to worry about crowds or snowstorms!
Very cool, small theme park to bring your family too. They don't have a ton of rides but it's enough to spend a few hours at. My youngest is only 42 inches and she had a blast. I recommend getting the wrist band for unlimited rides. For those who are seeking bigger thrills - The Flare and Bullet Boardwalk will not disappoint. Those rides are awesome. Restrooms are clean and they offer concessions. Parking was $12 when I went fyi. Check them out for some family fun.

Beautiful, right along the water. Lots of fun rides to kill a little bit of time between scheduled events, this is a great place to go! Everyone had fun and we were able to take a break from visiting museums, doing tours etc. A little bit pricey for sure if you don't buy the wristband. Rides are $6 per ride, per person. Even if you just go to walk around it's great energy and a beautiful area!

I came here as it was part of the Houston City Pass deal and I was given a ride wristband when I arrived at the ticket booth. The 🎢 Rollercoaster was awesome as was the Aviator and (Iron Eagle which cost more, $9 plus your wristband). Loved the whole laid back vibe and the salty ocean air. October weather was fabulous. Paid $12 for lot parking. Landry's was a solid choice for fine seafood dining and you can eat outside on the boardwalk. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

It was May 7 Tuesday at 4pm. It was quiet. Many eaterly places were closed. Many rides not in operation. But if you like good Texas oysters and banana desserts, Landry's Seafood House is the place! You should walk around after meal to enjoy the sea breeze and stunning view of the sea. Park closed at 8pm.

I took my parents to Kemah for a nice lunch. None of us had ever been on the boardwalk. There were a few restaurants open but due to the season, there wasn’t much open in the amusement area but It looks like it offers lots of fun when it’s open. I was a little disappointed with options as far as souvenir stores and it didn’t offer as much as I expected for shopping in general. Overall it seems like a fun place when in season but could use some additional shopping and souvenir stores.

Excellent place to hang out with family and friends. Parking could be a bit of a hassle depending on how late in the evening you arrive. If you plan to go there arrive around 430pm on the weekends and park after 6pm its chaos to find a parking spot. People and business are very casual and a chill atmosphere. No one seems too wild and everyone seems to enjoy themselves with all the activities. A good number of business have live music on the weekends so check them out. Overall I highly recommend this place.

We live about 10 minutes from here and only come for specific events. It's always crowded but even more so at events and holidays. The employees are always really nice and helpful. If you like loud, overly packed, high priced, tourist spots, then you should definitely visit. We never eat here because the food is too expensive and of poor quality. We prefer the local spots down the street. The views are always great from here though.

So disappointing. We took a first time visitor to the Boardwalk. Hoping for lots of festive Christmas lights and bustling activity, it was so lame. Christmas decor was lacking, and the band playing was a cross between hard rock and rap with the “f-bomb” frequent. Many closures of restaurants. Long lines for ride tickets.

It was nice and clean. A little small for the price but the kids had fun. They were ready to go after a couple hours. There were some things not open since we went at an off-peak time. I appreciated the short lines, but again, we went on a weekday.

Sadly, we did not plan this trip since we were traveling for Cheer Competition. However, it was a much needed pit stop. The sky's were gloomy; it was raining on and off; therefore, everything was shut down. Restaurants were open, the view was amazing, and this would be an amazing place to be on a brighter day!
*Mom Tip* No matter the weather, this is another wonderful spot for family photos. Bring a photographer with you for those Kodak Moments 📸

Very nice boardwalk! Lots of carnival games, restaurants, and a small aquarium. There are also several fairly large rides to enjoy! Nice place to visit with family, friends, or a date. There is music that goes on occasionally as well. Entry is free, and there is free side walk parking, however, this can get full quick. Would recommend coming early or using paid parking garage/lots, which are about $10.00.

Parking cost $8, and you had to pay for each individual ride or buy an all day pass. We got the all day pass and found that it wasn’t worth it because most of the rides were broken, and the pass did not include zip line or aquarium. The board walk is very nice, and has a good overview of the bay and I did enjoy the aquarium. It’s a good place for the little ones, the rides are not of very high intensity.

Amazing place! Kids loved it!! Lines for rides aren't too bad and for 5 wrists bands to ride all day only cost $150!! Only thing I didn't like was the prices for snacks/drinks: hot dog was 7.50 I think and a bottle of water was around 4 & etc!! But everything else was great!! The Aquarium restaurant was great!! A little park that has characters of the past.
You can really tell the decades of design that went into this boardwalk, there’s an old fashion feel to it.
Ocean view is spectacular and you can really see off to the horizon.
Parking is a bit complex so be prepared to pay if you can’t find any spots!

Too pricey for me. Two of the rides weren't working and the employees looked worn out. I'd go back just for the kids but for me it wasn't that great. It's got it's scenic views but there's not much to entertain myself with. I don't drink and I didn't ride the rides. It's more for younger people. I'm old already. 😆

Nice place to visit. It was an extremely hot day, and a lot was closed, but we enjoyed our visit. You have to pay if you want to enjoy the rides—$30.00 for each adult, which is worth it. If you see the sunset, you will definitely get a memorable experience at 𝐊𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐇 𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊!

If you're looking for a fun-filled day by the sea, don't miss out on this. Kemah boardwalk is the place to go and have some fun we drove from Dallas and spen the weekend they have everything From thrilling rides to delicious food options and breathtaking views of the Gulf Coast, this place has it all. The atmosphere is lively, the staff is friendly, and there's something for everyone, whether you're a thrill-seeker or just looking to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. Definitely worth a visit for a fantastic seaside experience! We purchased a day pass my kids loved it.

Saw Ryan Trajan do a review on this and since I just went, I’ll do it too. Went on a Wednesday at noon in November so it wasn’t crowded at all. Rides were fun and the loop ride wasn’t scary as thought. We went to the aquarium for lunch and it was delicious. Our waiter was very nice. The ocean view was beautiful and the breeze was amazing. I ended up getting a sweatshirt from there. Great vacation spot. 10/10 would love to go back!
The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site is the site of the 1836 battle that marked Texas' independence from Mexico. The monument, which towers over 1,300 acres (526 hectares), commemorates this pivotal event and is visited by thousands of tourists each year.
We drove down from Dallas to see the USS Texas Battleship. The ship was open this weekend, but has been closed for a while. They are going to do extensive repairs soon. I strongly recommend coming aboard this fantastic piece of history when she's open.

I have been coming to San Jacinto my enter life and it is where my love of history was laid. I was last here in July when it was 105 degrees outside, and despite that I loved being able to drive around the battleground and see the markers of where everything took place.
The museum had a new exhibit detailing the construction of the monument as well as walking through Texas History and figures who were at the battle. The film shown in the theater was excellent and I highly recommend taking the time to watch it.
Whether you are new to Texas History or a passionate Texan, I highly recommend coming to San Jacinto. Going to miss seeing the Battleship here but there are great opportunities to explore the decisive battle that won Texas independence.

This was the first time to actually go in to the monument. I have lived in Houston my entire life and I am in my mid 60's. This was one of the best places to visit. So much history in one place. The elevator ride to the observation room was great the view was amazing. I will be back to walk the trails.

I can't say I'm much of a history buff so it was pretty much what you see is what you get. We strolled around the small museum on the ground floor but didn't go up the elevators, which you can do for a small fee. (It was closed for maintenance when we were there.) It's probably not worth going out of your way to see but it's a nice, short detour among other tourist stops in Houston if you're close by. The weather was perfect when we went and I was surprised to learn that it's actually taller than the Washington Monument in D.C.

The place where history sleeps is here and that is what makes it so special. A half day trip to this place is the best way to spend your time. I found it to be very informative and interesting for all of us. A lot more can be learned there, and on top of that, there is a trail where we can take a long walk if we want to. If you are interested in visiting the museum, which is housed inside the monument, you will have to pay 14 dollars per person for admission.

This is a favorite day trip for our family! The monument contains a highly educational museum full of artifacts from Texas history, a theater that shows an award-winning short film (that my 10 year old enjoyed enough to "shush" me when I asked him a question), a room full of dioramas that have fascinated me since I was young, and an observation deck at the top with an amazing view! Unfortunately the elevator to the observation deck is currently closed for repairs. There are also walking and hiking trails with information on the plants and animals of the area along the paths, plenty of great picnic areas, and leashed pets are welcome.

For anyone interested in Texas history this stop is a must. Go to the top and get an overall view of the grounds where the battle happened. Watch a great 35 min movie and visit the museum. Don’t forget to get your Texas Passport signed and or pick up one for free to start your Texas History tour around the state.

Not how I remember it growing up. But still nice! The workers are amazingly helpful. There will be a reenactment that I am exited to go to. Forgot when exactly but I am pretty sure it’s on the website.

I can recall several visits to San Jacinto as a native Houstonian. Now living in middle TN, I enjoy SJ even more. It’s nice to see the USS Texas get the attention she deserves. And thankful to see SJ keeping the grounds up to those who fought here. It’s a worthwhile trip for anyone! Especially when the Texas returns!!
I recommend the YouTube video by the fat electrician on the USS Texas. Entertaining and informative!! But then, I also am a history enthusiast!!

This is an absolute must to see! The last battle that led to requiring Texas. The museum is very informative and wonderful artifacts. Be sure to drive around the grounds and learn about the history that took place here.

Did you know that the San Jacinto Monument is actually the tallest monumental column in the world? Really cool place to visit and walk the reflection pond. I believe you can go up in the tower, yet I've never personally gone up. The USS Texas is within eyesight and worth seeing if you've never seen a ship from WW1. Perfect for a day trip to learn about the battle that declared Texas its own entity! I saw this snake when I visited on New Years Day.

Loved checking out the battleground of one of the most historic battles for Texas. Having specific locations marked by historical stone markers and signs helped lay out the entire battle wonderfully. Will have to visit again when I have more time.

The Obelisk is taller than the Washington Monument in DC just proving once again that everything is bigger in Texas lol. The World War I battleship the USS Texas was an amazing sight to see as well. Totally free to view but tours cost money, Not sure how much as I didn't take the tour.

It’s a great experience to visit this place, it has couple of small parks along with trails to explore the historic spot and nature together.
There is no ticket for entry to the park and to the trials but there is an 12$ ticket for the museum and to go to the top of the tower , along with a small show about the battle.
There are posters and wall engraving with quotes and lot of information about the battle, ferries, and past.

Definatly worth the trip! Beautiful monument with ample parking. Inside there is a musem, theater with film about the battle site, and an elevator up to the observation deck.

Great place to learn Mexico/Texas history. Drive or bike the battleground area for free and imagine the people and battle. Great area for birding, too. Museum and observatory are worth the entrance fee.

Lovely views and a great museum. Interactive things for the kids to get them interested in history. Free posters and pinch pot kits. Work puzzles and solve history clues. You can also sign up for a van tour included with the price of admission. The van drives you around, but you do not get out. There is a great film that is a nice introduction to the site. Ample free parking. Stay as long as you like.

Definitely worth a visit to this interesting place. The video was awesome & I enjoyed learning about the battle & history that way rather than reading it all. The observation deck was cool, the change machine was not working & I was short a quarter for the smashed penny machine, so we had to go down to get change. Luckily one of the volunteers told us about a penny machine by the gift shop. There was also a crowd of school kids running around yelling which made the experience a little less enjoyable.

The best place we visited in Texas behind the Alamo. Great museum, movie, and exhibits about the Texas Revolution. It is a history lover's dream. The monument has easy access and there is a ton of green space and trails on the grounds of the park for hiking, picnicking, and bird watching. They have restrooms, gift shop, and very reasonable pricing for all you get to see and do. Staff is extremely friendly.
Space Center Houston is a popular tourist attraction in the United States that focuses on educating visitors about all eras of U.S. space travel. The center offers exhibits, tours and attractions that allow visitors to learn more about space exploration and the cutting-edge technology used in space missions.
Fascinating place filled with an immense amount of knowledge and information! Whether you’re a space enthusiast or not, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy. The facility is neatly organized and laid out with various sections and areas. Additionally, maps and employees are everywhere to assist with navigating.
Tickets are very reasonably priced and allows for free roam to choose what activities/exhibits you would like to visit. The only restriction is how much time you have to spare. They have 3 itinerary plans that corresponds to how much time you would like to stay there - 2 hours, 5 hours, 7+ hours. The choice is yours!
The only recommendation for change with the facility is to make the prices for photographs more reasonable. Upon entering, everyone gets a group photo taken (which we all know those are never FREE).
In fact, they’re $30 here, which is essentially the price of another entry ticket which is absolutely asinine. Many people were just taking pictures of the kiosk screen of the group photo instead of buying it which I don’t blame them.

So much documented history to enjoy and touring the grounds is a fun adventure. Be sure to buy a tram visit to see the additional areas you're interested in. If you visit historical mission control, there are 87 steps to climb up (they have an antiquated elevator that can only hold five people so be prepared for a climb if there's anyone in your party who experience mobility issues). It can get a little hot as well going between areas so bring a fan. Water is 5 dollars and parking costs 10 dollars (you have to access an app using your phone to pay for parking). Have fun binging on space!!!

Great experience. Lots of information and lots of photo ops available. Staff were super knowledgeable which adds to the experience. And some interactive components were available. Tram tours were interesting but maybe not worth the queues under the heat and 15 dollars unless you are really interested in the content.
It was dark over some parts of the exhibits but it was good atmosphere.
A few things that can be improved. Install misters over the trams. The weather is insanely hot. The queues can also be improved in the morning, was told to leave the queue to collect tickets, only to know that we need to go back into that same queue again after.

I recently visited the NASA Space Center Houston, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The exhibits are both educational and engaging, allowing visitors to learn about the history of space exploration and the wonders of the universe in an interactive way. The highlight for me was the tram tour to go see the rocket housed in their warehouse. It was amazing to see such a piece of history in-person! The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, and the overall atmosphere is inspiring. If you have any interest in space or science, this is a must-visit destination.

Honestly, a little bit underwhelmed. Maybe I was a too psyched. Should have kept expectations a little low.
Worth seeing - Rocket park tram tour, astronaut talk, moon rocks.
Can be skipped - astronaut training facility tour (takes too much time, 1 hour). Other exhibits are just ok.
One can finish the whole experience in about 3 hours if you reach early and plan the exhibits and tram tour well.
Not sure if the VIP tour is worth it, did not do.
The whole place definitely encourages one for space exploration. Worth a visit, but plan well.

This was fun. I felt like a kid again. It definitely takes a day if you do the Tram Tours. You should get the Historic Mission Control Tour, it is special.
The trams are outside, so dress for the weather. You can bring in food, etc. At least we did, so a picnic will save you some money.
Overall, I highly recommend for adults and children. There is a lot more for adults than you would expect.

Fantastic exhibits. Nice mix of history and future. I enjoyed being able to walk through models and actual aircraft. There were fun hands-on activities for the kids and kids at heart.
One frustration was lack of directional signage within the buildings. We had to double back and search around to ensure we saw everything.
We waited too long to get our tickets online so we were unable to take the tram tour. It was disappointing but there was already so much to do that we barely covered it all.

Magnificent place to visit with the family. It took us 5 hours to tour the entire place completely. The story there is spectacular. There is a booth where you can take photos and they become a memory in your home. I recommend buying tickets online because they are cheaper. Overall the experience was phenomenal, and I loved all the exhibits. They've got historical artifacts, a tram tour, and even a moon rock which you can touch. Highly recommend!

My family and I visited the Space Center in Houston and it was great! Staff were courteous and helping and the facilities were very clean! We purchased the City Pass because we were only in the area for Spring break so we used it for other venues. The wait was fast. Literally, never stopped walking through the line until we arrived at purse check and then again to scan the electronic tickets. We went on a Tuesday. We spent all day there and still did not see everything. Get Tram and virtual rides tickets early because they sell out fast.
The exhibits were very interesting and kept our 10 year-old daughter engaged. The two virtual rides were awesome. It was as if we were truly in space. Loved it!!
We all left with huge smiles on our faces and vowed it was well worth the money and will be on our list to return to.

A bit crowded but overall amazing experience. Interactive exhibits and tons of NASA goodness for space fanatics. Loved learning about the upcoming Artemis missions.
Food was quite good on site but a bit of a learning curve on how to order since it's all done at kiosks.
The Mission Control tour stopped working during our tour which was disappointing but cool to see anyhow.
We did Breakfast with an Astronaut and it was pretty fun to be able to ask questions.
If your kids/family love NASA or space this is definitely must do!

My husband and I had an incredible experience visiting Space Center Houston. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the fascinating exhibits and interactive displays. The highlight was definitely the chance to see the historic Mission Control Center and learn about the incredible achievements of the space program. Walking through the exhibits showcasing actual spacecraft and equipment used by astronauts was awe-inspiring. The tram tour to NASA’s Johnson Space Center was a definite must-do, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities where astronauts train. The whole experience was educational, inspiring, and left us with a profound appreciation for the achievements of space exploration.

Very interesting place to spend the day with your family. It’s definitely a full day thing. It’s really hard to visit everything in a couple of hours. There are three tram tours which take you on the NASA campus. All of them have set departures and for the most part all departures end at 3:30. We were only able to see two of them. Mission Control and Rocket park. Best advice if you want to see everything is to get there early. The shuttle and 747 were also really interesting.
Darren Czarnogorski — Google review
Going here was a fun experience. Looking at space equipment , how the astronauts lived on the shuttle, what they ate and experienced, was fascinating. We were there for a little longer than 3 hours trying to see everything. They had a tour shuttle which makes things easier to take in.
Amy R. Prieto — Google review
What a fantastic place to see space craft and learn about America's space history. You can see a complete Saturn V rocket and the space shuttle transport plane. The tour of Mission Control is great, but you need to climb 3-4 flights of stairs. Although there is an elevator for those who need it. While this tram tour is an extra cost, the rocket park tram is free. There can be a very long line for the free tram, so bring your patience. Don't get in the long line if taking the Mission Control tour, just go straight to the tram desk to check-in. I recommend buying your tickets online in advance, and they are timed entry for both the museum and tram tour. They could have better crowd control, as the line for the free tram can run all the way to the museum entrance. This place is a must see for history and space buffs, and is great for school age kids with an interest in the space program. Make time to visit here if in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Don't forget to try out the Virtual Reality spot just across from the entrance, $10 pp totally worth it! From the Shuttle to the Saturn V Rocket to all of the fantastic exhibits all held together by a superior guest services/educational facilitators/team members...all were absolutely phenomenal! Thank you!

This place is amazing, would recommend coming when it first opens. We got there by 930am and there was a line on a Saturday already. We reserved the blue tram when we got inside and did the tour which was super fun. Some I had little ones doing the blue tram was a better option. Also, I recommend bringing cash. The gift stores credit card machines were not working and we couldn’t get nothing. Next time, we will be more prepared. Wish we could have deep dived every corner but having toddlers it was kinda hard.
Pro tip of photos, utilize your panorama setting on your phone. You’ll be able to be in the picture with rockets. Have walking shoes and water on hand. They don’t allow selfie sticks or extra camera set ups.

Visited again after many years. What a great place. So much to do and see. Lots of educational exhibits. Great gift shop. Food cost was really good considering the captive audience. Come for the day. The tram tours fill up so need to book those virtually as soon as you can. It can get crowded.

A last minute decision, but so worth it.
Overwhelming amount of information, even for an almost 5hr visit.
Well laid out with good amounts of room to view all displays.
The Mission Control room tour was very much worth the extra $15
I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Great experience for the family. A little pricey for all that's involved.
Lots to learn and experience. Great photo ops and they do get you with nice pictures to purchase too.
Nice gift shop, but the food court was basically closed and barely offered anything.
Lots of walking and it is handicap accessible for scooters and wheelchairs.

We took our son and daughter when they were young and they had a blast, so we decided to take our sons daughter our granddaughter there. And it was not so fun anymore for a small kid, seems like everything was for and older kid 10years and older. I Remember they had Star Wars and other props that filled up the place. Now it seemed empty, not much for the younger side. We made the best of it for what was there. But not planning to go back until the granddaughter gets older where she can enjoy it better.

Highly recommend visiting here! We got there at 9:45 (10am opening) and there was already a long line to get in.
We paid for the Mission Control tour & it was absolutely worth it! Also if you want to go on the astronaut training facility it is recommended that you get your “pass” from customer service right away. They were helpful & asked what time our paid tour was to make sure we got back in time & make sure they wouldn’t overlap.
We got lunch in the food lab. Orders are placed & paid for on the kiosk & then picked up at the counters. It’s a little pricey, but we split the 6 chicken tender & fries, so 2 adults ate for less than $20 with a drink. It was surprisingly good for cafeteria food!
We waited until later in the afternoon to go outside & see the shuttle & falcon 9. There were less people & it made the experience more enjoyable.
The Down to Earth film was also really interesting & not many people were in the theater.

Amazing. Spent a whole day here and did the Mission Control Tour. Got to get there right when they open to beat the crowds. We were able explore the 747, Space Shuttle, and Falcon X rocket by ourselves without the crowds. I would go to those attractions first since the regular exhibits can wait if you are able to get in when they open. Tip - book your tickets online because you can get in an hour earlier. Their hours to the public say 10am but you can get tickets to enter in at 9am. 10/10 recommend.

If you want to see the history of space travel from the past to the future this museum is well worth it as long as you have a lot of money. The prices were higher than I thought that they should be. The 45 minutes to a one hour wait for the tram is way to much time to Stan in line and wait. They should have more trams.
The exhibits are very well put together. There is plenty of parking g if you have an RV.

My experience at NASA Space Center Houston was very pleasant overall. There is a lot of fun information to take in for both kids and parents to enjoy. Every staff member was very kind and patient with every child who had a curious question or needed help. The only downsides I found during my visit were the out of service stations and damaged electronics for certain activities. I understand that kids can be very rough on the equipment, but many of those items look to have been either out of service or damaged for a long time.
Overall, there are lots of cool things to look at and experience. Many areas to take fun family or group photos. The gift shop has a myriad of fun little things and clothes at many price ranges. Would definitely visit again.

Just such a great experience. Lots of young kids the day we went, but it was a Friday before spring break. Your mileage may vary. I do recommend getting tickets for entrance and tickets for the tram tours in advance. They only had the generic tram tour available when we went. The one that brings you out to the Saturn IV shed. Lots of great info. Kids will enjoy looking and wondering. Adults will enjoy that as well as reading all the great info graphics.
Old MacDonalds Farm is an activity center that features a petting zoo, mini-train, swimming pool, and pumpkin patch. Children can enjoy playing on playgrounds and on trains and horses at the amusement center.
Our 4 year old granddaughter loved it.
The price was good for how long you can stay and what the kids can do. There were several parties after lunch time. Everyone was very nice and the horse staff were great. They let our granddaughter ask for a horse when they weren't busy. Don't miss the tip jar at the ride exit for them. They walk all day and help kids and parents as much as they can.
The granddaughter also loved the big sand hill. Just be sure to empty the sand out before getting back in your car.
She liked the animals with the rabbits being her go back to.

It’s all included plus, you can buy some snacks and ice cream at the counter. The ladies that work at the counter are very nice and helpful, very sweet staff my kids have so much fun. Cute little attraction. Great for birthday parties. The petting zoo is small but nice. We loved the goats and deer. Feed is $2.00 a bag. There's also a large sand pile for children to play in and a few different swing sets and slides. The only downside is that there isn't any real shaded areas unless you're part of a party renting a gazebo

This was a fun place to take the kids for Fall-time fun. Admission was $16.80 for adults and children, and each child got a free pumpkin with their admission. We spent about 2 hours here, but we could have spent longer if we had waited in line for the pony rides and train ride. Everyone enjoyed time with the animals, the playgrounds were fun, and there were plenty of picnic tables. There were some super cute photo ops, too.

Wonderful time at Old McDonald's Farm! We got the train ride to tour the area, and it is plenty of space to walk around and see the animals without feeling crowded by others visiting. It is a perfect place to bring the kids easily burned a couple of hours without breaking the bank. The kids got to feed the goats and Llama. My son and daughter got their first ride on a pony and whole swing set to themselves. Safe to say, the kids enjoyed their time. I can't believe that they are charging infants the SAME price as adults 20.00. That is a rip off. These babies not even walking, not to mention the place is going down. Again so sad. Nearly the price of Houston Zoo . I told the lady our grandson had just lost his mom due to Mental Health and her response was, O that's still 20.00. Will not return. It's about compassion for me.

Such an amazing time it was awesome because I got to teach my kids about the animals and interacted with them. The train driver was so sweet gave us the full tour, we will be returning once the weather gets cooler.

Had lots of fun, our pre-k student's 1st field trip! Long lines for the ponies and the train but they moved pretty fast. All the kids loved the animals and all the things they could do, sand hill (like a sand box but huge), play grounds (a few of them), pony rides, train ride, bridges. They sell small bags of feed you can give to most of the animals, they do ask that you don't feed the pig, horse(s), and donkey because they bite (sings are posted), but most animals can bite including the ones with out signs. Remember the lamas will spit. Snacks can be bought there as well, not super pricey like other attractions. Lots of fun for the kiddos if you are looking to have a day outside.

Gladys and her husband bought two grape vines as an anniversary gift in 1969. Today, they have 3 acres of 1800 grape vines consisting of a variety of grapes. Their wines have been honored with medals over the years. Haak Vineyards & Winery is located in beautiful Dripping Springs, Texas and is perfect for weddings or any event.
Listen to this. I flew all the way from New York to Houston in hopes that I will find a great winery. Then drove 50 minutes to get to this winery in Santa Fe Texas when I say this was the most amazing experience of my life traveling the world. The hospitality was amazing the people were amazing they had so much knowledge about this winery ..Taylor was great. Amazing from when we walked in the door until it was time to leave. I cannot wait to bring my family here and give them the experience that’s TYLER gave me thank you so much I’ll be back soon.XO

LOVE HAAK! It’s nice going here whether it’s a quiet weekday night or one of their bigger events. It’s nice for people of all ages and families too. Also dog friendly on the outside. The wine is amazing and the wine club membership is a GREAT deal. We’re so happy to be close by. I also like seeing that they are creating new events and being really engaged with customers overall. 10/10 recommend!
And if you are new you should definitely start with a tour and tasting!

Gorgeous winery and Great wine! We had our annual girls trip in Texas this year and found this amazing location- Thanks Tammy! Amenities, food and wine all perfection! Thank you all for a great weekend.
All you brides out there should be looking at this venue. It has all the amenities to make your wedding perfect! (Including a beautiful treehouse for your wedding night 😉)

My best friend was planning my birthday trip and I told her that she must include a winery tour/visit. She found Hawk Winery and it was the perfect place. Upon arrival, we paid for our tour and waited in a beautiful space. We went on a small tour and learned about the history of the winery. Our tour guide was Sarah and she was pleasant and was able to tell the history of the winery. Upon conclusion of the tour, our group order food and purchased 4 bottles of wine to take back to Chicago. If you are near Santa Fe, Texas I highly recommend visiting.

Our daughter's wedding ceremony was held out by the big tree on the back of Haak's property and it was beautiful! Kristen and her team did an amazing job from start to finish making the day perfect! The bride and groom suites were spacious and comfortable including a kitchen for the luncheon, dressing areas, a large mirror for the bridal party and fooseball for the groomsmen. A big plus, the property is beautiful with so many incredible photo ops!
After driving in from Houston and the surrounding areas, our guests were able to enjoy a glass of delicious Haak wine prior to the ceremony!
Haak thought of everything which makes it the perfect venue!

Great place for a date or a group of friends, not too far from Houston! I recommend experiencing the wine tasting tour to understand the history behind Haak Winery, wine sampling, and a tour of their facilities. Pam was an awesome guide!

Celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Haak. What an awesome time we had. Robin was our tour guide. She was friendly and full of information and funny stories about the winery and her experiences. I enjoyed all the wines and the vineyard and venue was beautiful. Don’t miss it!

First time back to Haaks in some time. Very impressed with the renovations. I liked the idea of expanding the original welcome area into two connected rooms each with a bar and big screen TVs. The overall look is very upscale and now they have two separate areas to hold events. Plus having the garage type doors as walls will allow that area to be opened in the summer (like the previous configuration). Looking forward to going back soon.

Now I have to admit, I don’t visit many wineries but PEOPLE!! When I say they give you a full education about their wine!! Yes ma’am and yes sir they certainly do! It was FUN to learn and let’s not forget tasting also. If you want an experience at a winery, choose Haak Vineyards! I took notes!! Really, I did. I enjoy a good a wine every and now then with friends and this made me want to learn more about wines to enjoy.

Great staff and we resort enjoyed the wines! We did the tour for a friend's birthday and had a great time. The wines were really good. I'm normally a red wine lover, but their whites were really good. The ports were my favorite. I was unfamiliar with a white port, theirs was really flavorful and a nice surprise.

Best wedding venue ever!!! We contacted the winery about hosting our daughter’s wedding for a small wedding (50 people) and I’m soooo thankful we did! Kristen was amazing an handled every detail for us!!! The tables were perfectly set, and the food and cakes were amazing!
The outside vendors (Cakes by Jula and Robinette & Company Catering) selected as part of our package did a terrific job of working with Haak, as well the recommendations for H‑E‑B floral and Pidrai Photography!
The staff also did an amazing job of setting up the venue, serving our guests and we really appreciated them cleaning up as well. Perfect day!!! Thank you Kristen and Haak for making the day PERFECT !!!!

I just want to take a moment to first speak on the delicious wines and beautiful winery and great band houses at the Hawk Winery. The bottle of Huggin was delicious and strong haha. It had my parents feeling quite rosy.
I’m mad I don’t recall names but the staff and the gentleman that went out of his way to help me set the scene for my proposal was top notch. Even on mother’s Day with so much going on he made time for me and our special moment at a moments notice. I couldn’t have done it without you man. The food was also really good. The egg rolls were meaty and seasoned very well. The lemon pepper wings disappeared pretty quickly at our table along with the mozzarella sticks. I can’t say enough good things about HAAK. Tired of the brewery’s and want a more scenic airy twist this is your place. Very reasonably priced and the self pour are an awesome set up.

Booked a tour and tasting and it was so much fun! The grounds are beautiful. The facts are interesting. The wine tasted good. The lady giving the tour was great. We went on Wednesday when they have half price glasses so it was a steal! Wish we could of stayed longer but had other things planned that day.

Visited Haak’s this weekend and had a blast! Beautiful property, friendly staff and a great place to take some pictures!
Pam was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the history of the winery along with keeping her customers engaged and happy! After the tour, we were granted free wristbands to enjoy the concert afterwards.
Unfortunately, the majority of the food was sold out by the time we got to order, so we ended up ordering a pizza.
I will say the service was immaculate! We had some minor difficulties in the treehouse suit which was beautiful and even came with a patio. We were upgraded to the groomsmen sweet which was truly beautiful.
Overall, we had an amazing time! Thank you!

This place is absolutely amazing. My girlfriend and I went here for an afternoon date, and we were blown away. The staff was welcoming and the venue is beautiful. I would like to give a big shout out to our guide, Robin. From the time we got there, she was welcoming and kind (even though I was late, lol). Robin was very informative, funny, and really knew the history of the winery. Robin took her time and explained so much, made sure we all had wine we liked and was just an all around great person. 5 out of 5, would highly recommend. We are now going to be regulars.

We had a really good time there.
Spent the afternoon with customers and friends, drinking and hanging.
We definitely need to try to Tempranillo wine.
We had a cheese board, but I missed more food options in the menu.
A place to come with friends, as a couple and family.
They also have a cinema time for families

The Mercer Botanic Gardens is a large and well-known garden that contains a variety of beautiful plants, including some you may not have seen before. The gardens are spread out over 300 acres, and there are specially themed gardens throughout the year (e.g. spring flowers in the spring/planting season, forest in the fall, etc). There's also an arboretum on site with over 250 trees and plants.
The best Nature walk with local plants and flowers with a beautiful settings and ever expanding paths.
Perfect place to spend truly memorable quality time with family members and loved ones.
My personal favorite is the tranquility that I feel in the new addition with the large pond with wind chimes, turtles and fish and never ending bird songs.
In the weekend afternoons you may have to maneuver through the photographers taking pictures of lovers, expecting mothers, quinceaneras and college graduates.
But usually through out the week so much quieter.

Great place. But don't go during photography times (whenever that is). They take up a lot of space and block walkways. Lots of people just standing around. Granted it's an open and beautiful place for pictures, but it kinda kills the experience when you have to keep double backing and walking around photographers, their equipment and the entire family. You also can't take your pics because everyone else in the background. Just have to be patient and wait for them to get done or move on to another location. Other than that it was nice for our first time.

Pets are not allowed unfortunately. I carried my chihuahua in my purse. Another lady kept her small poodle on the bench next to her.

Great for professional photography. I believe there is a fee for that. Call the park for details.
Today the main office was closed. We didn't get to go inside. Not sure if they had public restrooms.

This place is amazing. We drove from Houston and it was very worth it! There are miles of walk trails. Tons of professional photographers were there doing family portraits and school pictures which tells you how gorgeous the grounds are. There is a lake. Nearly every plant has an identification marker so its a great place to get landscaping ideas or just learn the local flora. There is a long trail through the woods too so you can get a good walk in the shade too. We will be returning a lot of times in the future.

I really enjoyed a beautiful day walking among the many different gardens. It was well kept, well organized, and especially pleasing. There was enough shade to seek refuge from the sun toward noon. 2 hours was barely enough time to see it all! The only suggestion would be to have better signage to the different sections, especially to the lake.

Visited this public botanic garden in 2021. It is free of admission. This 325 acres garden has various types of garden bed, ponds, a waterfall, walking paths, a primitive loop, greenhouses, a tea house, and a visitor center with a classroom. The vast array of plant species and meticulously maintained landscapes make it a paradise for nature lovers. Walking through its serene paths is both calming and inspiring. The gardens are well-organized, with informative signage throughout. When we visited here it was in the beginning of spring, so the trees were still recovering from the winter.

How come no one told me about this place?! Let alone I hear no one talking about it? this place is such a 💎. I didn’t know it would be on so much land. That was fun because I could get my steps in and it wasn’t just one trail but it’s broken into different paths so you can enjoy different parts of the garden from different perspectives ! I really enjoyed my walk here and there was so much plant species to look at and awe over.
The best part was just how not in “Houston” it felt or even in Texas sorta ? It felt and looked like a place in the Pacific Northwest minus the the water.
I think in a way that is like a retreat from everything we’re so used too as Texans but also just the hustle and bustle from the city. It was refreshing to say the least and if you want a picturesque photo or just out for a walk like I was… this place is it.
Parking is decent but I can imagine on a busy day or lots of events happening it’ll get packed. They are also doing renovations so keep that in mind.
They have bathrooms and a community library there too.
Enjoy!

Beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, awe-inspiring, accessible botanical gardens, northern Houston suburbs. Free to enter, though donations are appreciated. Plants selected to do well in southeast Texas.

I love this place. We have premium season passes, so we go whenever we want to go. But the lines are so long for the water slides && the stairs- oh lord it's so many stairs. But it's worth the 30 second ride. The food is pretty high, but they let you bring water bottles in. Other than that , me and my brothers have a blast here every year. I recommend you should go get a season pass to this water park next summer. Oh and let's not forget, the waves in the wave pool is so big. I love it!!!!😹🪴

The park was a blast. The kids had a great time playing and going on the rides. The entertainment was well worth the money spent.
The only drawback was the food. The food left alot to be desired, huge lines, a 45 minute wait to order, the best part was the fries. The burger was burnt, the pizzas weren't done all the way, but after almost an hr waiting for food it isn't like we could send it back. For $120 bucks to feed 6 people, it could've been better. So that was disappointing.
But other than that, the park itself was great. The staff were friendly and polite, the lines weren't too bad, and the kids made some awesome memories. The restrooms were well maintained, the facilities in general were clean, and the lifeguards were very prompt and professional. We don't usually go to large water parks, but this was definitely a memorable experience, minus the whole food debacle. 4 stars

It's a good water park but crazy having to pay for parking and then a locker and then food on top of tickets. Especially in this economy. And we bought a float for my 1yo nephew and it was not allowed in any of the pools. That was a bummer.

Started going here in 1988 when all my friends got summer jobs here… it was great then. Brought my kids on season passes from 2005-2012…. It was great then. Came back today with my 23-year-old daughter…. It’s still great now. It’s a public pool, y’all. Come with realistic expectations about the crowds and cleanliness. Also, come with a cooler that you can leave in your car to exit, eat lunch, then go back in, or go to one of the many fast food places adjacent to the park. The concessions are very expensive. You can bring in one bottle of water — bring a big one! It’s hot. But it’s such a great value to have a perfect summer afternoon. I loved the addition of the metal detectives and x-ray machines. It’s safe like the airport, so you can just relax and enjoy your day.

Absolutely awesome! Great family get away that won't break the bank. The only issue I have is folks claiming seats and literally using them only to store thier belongings. My first ever visit to Hurricane Harbor and I was disappointed. Unfortunately, the weather didn't hold up too well. The water park opened at 10 a.m. and by 12:30 p.m. we were told to get out of the water as there was lightning nearby. An "act of God" can not be blamed on HH. We wanted a rain check voucher, but was told by HH staff that they would have to officially close the park for the remainder of the day. If they did close the park, we would have to return to customer service at closing time to receive our raincheck voucher.

Arrive early to secure a spot, there’s areas with chairs and tables you don’t have to pay for. Fun for all ages. We didn’t rent a locker we left our belongings for hours unattended with no issues. We brought bottles of water but food is not allow inside. Avoid buying food if you can, too expensive. You can leave the park (to eat )and return, you will get a stamp. The lines were pretty long but it was worth it, some of the slides have only one employee and maybe that's why the delay. Overall we had lots fun and planning to return and rent a cabana for a different experience.

This place has changes since I last visited it. It was an amazing place to revisit the people was fun and the rides definitely did what they was suppose to. I even re rode rides twice. Begin to get away from home and enjoy this park made the 6hr drive worth while. I’d go back personally. My only thing was the day I chose to go. It was really packs if I could have went during a week day I’d probably would’ve avoided whoever kids was playing in the lazy river.

Purchased a season pass because we live close. It includes parking. Everything is quite pricey right along with everything Six Flags. Got the souvenir bottle so we get free refills for the rest of the season. They have a kidde areas which is perfect for him. I was even able to slide down a couple larger slides with him on my lap. We enjoyed the lazy river and also the wave pool.
The Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas is a 45,000 seat stadium that has a retractable roof and is now known for hosting Major League Baseball games outdoors. The stadium is also well known for its great atmosphere and the many concessions options available.

Parking always sucks and is very expensive. But it's a gazillion people to try to accommodate.
Good is ridiculous 🙄--$30 for a burger, fry and drink . So come prepared to spend money 💰 but enjoy a good game. The staff are usually welcoming and friendly.

For this game the roof was closed, but even then there is a large window that lets in plenty of natural light. Overall the stadium was easy to navigate, the staff was friendly and helpful when I had questions. It was $1 hit dog night on Tuesdays and they were excellent. These were not a discount version of a hot dog the meat was plump with a nice "snap" when I bit into it and the buns were very good. Overall this was a great experience at the ballpark and to top it off the 'Stros won!

We came here to watch an Astros game vs Red Sox. Our experience was wonderful.
If you don’t mind to walk you can save some money parking a few blocks far from the stadium, the area is nice and safe.
Bring only small bags because big ones are not allowed. They check on them on the entrance but in my opinion staff is professional doing this revision.
We came on Dogs Night and it was a good deal, but the line is too long, so, its better arrive early to avoid missing part of the game. They also have self-check out for beer and that makes it faster than in a normal stand. Food and beverages are pricey but it is normal in this kind of venues.
The stadium is wonderful with AC to avoid the outside heat. Sittings are a little tight. And ambiance is healthy with a lot of families and friends just trying to spend a good quality time. Definitely a good option to spend a warm evening in Houston.

This park is pretty awesome. Service dog compliant, friendly staff, and great sports environment. Especially fond the mega screen clarity at the feet of the park. The seats are mostly comfortable, although the temperature in the arena isn't actually cool. Rather on the tepid side . People spacing is cramped, but I guess it is what is to be expected at a venue like this.

August 2023:
It’s always fun to get a chance to see my Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in person. This stadium may have some age but proved to be a timeless design and been duplicated for good reasons. The concourse areas has plenty of food and drink options, team stores, team history memorabilia, and bars. Every year there seems to be something new giving this place a fresh look.
This night saw them play against the Los Angeles Angels and I sat in the Honda Club Level. I noticed from the last time I was in here this place has been completely renovated with upgraded food options, new decor, and team store, but still has that luxurious atmosphere from the professional and courteous staff. I had a great site line of the field, perfect view of the giant video screen, and comfortable seats. Some people sit up and just socialize, but was able to tune them out.
There’s plenty of small to large parking sports around the ballpark and short walk to the METRORail station. Or like me have a driver take you there and back. Overall it’s a great way to spend part of your day or night having a good time and cheer on the Houston Astros.

This stadium and their staff are excellent! If you need Season Tickets, hit up Jeff Troncoso in the Season Ticket office. Jeff had us come down to the stadium and actually walk to different seats. Thanks Jeff and Go Astros!

Very nice ballpark to watch a game. Fairly easy to get around all the levels. Good alcohol selection. The food was okay for what I got, the AstroNautchos. The brisket was good, but everything else just seemed to lack flavor. They have a very large selection of specialty foods and typical ballpark food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere outside the park is great. Lots of cool bars and restaurants.

Took an “All-Star” tour of the stadium. It was 2 hours and very fun. If you have some spare time in Houston, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It cost $25 and is WELL worth it. Even if you’re not a big baseball fan, you’ll enjoy getting to see this stadium.

I have to give this place 4 stars. I was here for 2 games vs phi and vs sf. I had a great time at a beautiful ballpark. Here is the problem it was perfect weather in Texas that weekend and the roof was closed, I still don’t understand why you have a retractable roof and you never use it. To add insult they opened the roof after the game maybe to air out the fireworks, I’m not sure. By the time I made it out of the stadium the roof was completely open. Great atmosphere. This was one of the most merch’d out games I’ve ever been too, I was one of the only people there not wearing Astros gear. I also like the tradition of singing Deep In The Heart of Texas after the 7 inning stretch.

I had a great time getting to see Guns n' Rose's and Alice in Chains at this venue! This was my first time here, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The venue was clean and cool insid, considering how hot it was when I was there. There were plenty of concession and drink areas to accommodate the huge crowd that was there for the show. Our seats were almost on the floor, and the view was pretty good. I hope to visit again whenever possible.

I have been here a few times for Astros games. It’s big but still manageable for those that can not handle big places and too many people. They are cordial pleasant and cleaning up throughout the event. Bathrooms are always being cleaned usually no lines. I’m not a huge fan of the food available on the regular floors but they do have better food for the VIP folks.

Had a wonderful time experiencing Minute Made Park! The Space City Astros put on a great game for a special day of baseball! The Jackie Robinson Day Celebrations were thoughtful and well put together! You must visit! 🧑🚀 💫 ⚾️ 🍿

I've been seeing a lot of concerts here lately. The sound seems better than it used to be. I still think it's way too big for shows. We are usually in the 1st band around the floor, but the upper decks are so far away that the stage must look like a flea circus. Also, the bathrooms seem insufficient for the size of the place.. always lines, especially for women. As ballpark stadiums go, it's very nice. I love the retractable roof.

What more is there to love about a quintessential baseball stadium! I love everything about Minute Maid from the food selections, the ecstatic crowds, the stadium lighting, to the awesome activities even during off seasons. I always have a smile on my face when I come for a game here. A truly enjoyable experience every time!

Wonderful experience!! The stadium was conveniently located, plenty of parking, and east getting into the stadium. The facilities were clean and the staff/ushers were great!!! My son enjoyed his very first MLB game here and the train in the outfield was his favorite!!

Very nice ballpark... the fastest entry ever with the MLB app and Go Ahead Entry (facial recognition program). They have a huge selection of concession stands, but I miss the people venders (concessionaires???) at your seat.

Pleasantly surprised with the whole ballgame experience from parking to stadium design and functionality. Food was decent. Maybe could have used a few upscale options in addition to the standard ballpark fare.

Pretty terrible experience all around. Concourse was one of the smallest I've seen in the 20+ ballparks I've been to and the staff wasn't particularly nice. The games were fun to see and our seats were quite good but it is what it is in the end.
Downtown Aquarium is a six acre entertainment and dining complex in downtown Houston that houses a 500,000 gallon aquarium with more than 200 species of aquatic life from around the world. The attraction also features a beautiful bar, full-service restaurant, ballroom for special events, and other attractions related to the marine environment.
We had a great time at the aquarium. It was a beautiful day and there weren't many people. They have amazing exhibitions. Our favorite was the one with the sharks and the tiger.
You have to take the little train to be able to see the sharks so that's a nice and different experience.
The whole area was clean and the animals looked well taken care of. I'll definitely would go back.

This place kinda sucked to be honest. Super small. Would not recommend. It's $25 to get in plus if you want to see any attractions they charge an extra fee. Parking is also $15. The highlight of the place is a white tiger...yes a white tiger at the aquarium is the highlight. If you're doing city pass Id definitely do another option.

Had a lovely time visiting the aquarium in Houston. Always interesting to see a different city’s take on aquatic life. The exhibits were nice but the restaurant was GREAT! Beautiful human size fish tank as a view. We got to see the fish get fed and the feeders performed some acrobatics for our viewing pleasure. The gumbo was a bit watery but delicious and the risotto was very good. Had to come home and make it too. The rides were nice and I was happy to see they were for both children and adults. Worth a visit if you are in the Houston area.

Very affordable and clean. The aquarium isn’t very big but it’s priced accordingly. The exhibits are all very nice though. We spent about 1.5 hours going through it with small kids. They loved the tiger areas. They have a train ride that takes you through a shark tank tunnel. The rides were great for young kids. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but everything we experienced was great. We would definitely recommend it and will come again. Getting the all day combo pass was extremely affordable and well worth it for the kids.

INCREDIBLE experience and great value. Just when you think it's close to ending, there's more. The fish are unique and plentiful with beautiful habitats. Same with the tigers. The decorations are incredible and well-designed, and then there's the amusement park! The rides are actually fun for all ages. Gift shop was also fun. I loved that everything allowed you to pay with a card. Parking fee is about right for downtown but at least it's their lot.

So much fun, and very educational. Went for my birthday, and bought the all day adventure pass (best value for sure! Highly recommend!) It was so nice being able to see all the exhibits, and ride all the rides as much as we wanted! My inner child and outer adult was very pleased!

My favorite part of the Aquarium is the stingray exhibit! You can gently touch (or pet) the stingrays and feel their rubbery, slick, soft body. They are fascinating to watch. I was shocked at how very fast they can swim when they want to!
Another favorite spot is the tiger exhibit. They seem so very docile, sweet and laid back when you are looking at them through the glass. If it weren’t for the documentaries that I have seen, I would want to go inside and pet them. They are the very definition of “looks can be deceiving” but I love them so much.
I really enjoyed all of the exhibits. It’s been a while since I have been, but they used to have a large octopus that I enjoyed watching. I was disappointed that it wasn’t there this time, but it’s possible that I just overlooked it??
I think this aquarium is definitely worth visiting as they have done a great job with the exhibits. I think this would be a great place to take a date, and definitely a great day out with the family!

This is a wonderful place to spend a day out with the family. It does seem to cater to elementary aged children. My middle schooler enjoyed himself, but was not overly amused. Go during the week to have endless access to the rides. The train ride is nice, but short, so don’t be dismayed by a line. It moves quickly. I deducted stars because the concession stands weren’t open. Other than that, no complaints. The stingray experience was cool, the tiger was asleep, my kids got shark cups, I got a glass, and we took plenty of pics for memories.

We celebrated my youngest son's birthday here and it was great! The rides were fun, he rode every one, the shark train was SO AWESOME and petting the stingrays at the subway rec was stinky but fun! Like most amusement places, everything was over priced, (a bubble wand was $25 and a bottle of water was $3.75) but it was expected! Plus the bubble wand lit up and was a dino-ROAR!!! Parking was paid upon exit at $15 a vehicle, all in all, we had a blast and my 5 year old said it was the best day ever!

Visiting this aquarium has become one of my cherished activities, and I've had the opportunity to explore it multiple times. Each visit brings something new and equally mesmerizing, reinforcing the incredible experience it offers. The value of this visit is unmatched, especially when you consider the depth and breadth of what's on display. Just as you think you've seen it all, another section unfolds, presenting a diverse range of fish that are both unique and abundant, swimming within beautifully crafted habitats that seem to bring the undersea world to vibrant life right before your eyes.
The marvel doesn't stop at aquatic life; the inclusion of tigers, with their own meticulously designed habitats, adds a thrilling dimension to the experience. These majestic creatures, paired with the surrounding decor, showcase the thoughtful and intricate design that has gone into every corner of this space. It's worth mentioning that my cousin, Architect Martinez, was the brilliant mind behind the architectural masterpiece that is the aquarium building. His vision and creativity have truly brought this place to life, blending aesthetics with functionality in a way that enhances the overall experience for every visitor.
Beyond the living exhibits, the aquarium surprises with an amusement park that is genuinely enjoyable for visitors of all ages. The rides, ranging from thrilling to leisurely, offer a delightful break from the aquatic and wildlife exploration, ensuring that there's something for everyone to enjoy. Even the gift shop is a treasure trove of fun finds, making it the perfect spot to pick up a souvenir or two as a reminder of the day's adventures.
I appreciated the modern convenience of being able to pay with a card throughout the facility, from entry tickets to concessions and souvenirs, making the entire experience seamless and hassle-free. Even the parking, while bearing the typical downtown fees, is well managed and situated in their own lot, providing peace of mind and ease of access to visitors.
In sum, this aquarium is not just a place to visit; it's a destination to be experienced over and over again. Each visit leaves me with a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the innovative ways in which it can be presented and preserved for all to enjoy.

Great spot for the entire family. Visiting from out of town and you will spend extra money buying other things. My family loved seeing the fishes, tigers and feeding the sting ray. The best part is you’ll ride a train and go through a shark tunnel. Very informative and I have never seen a saw shark in person before. So seeing that magnificent sea creature was a treat. While we were there, divers were making sure tanks are clean and keeping it nice.
I recommend taking swim clothes and a towel for the kiddos who want to play in the splash pad.

We loved it ❤️. Spent the whole day and we all enjoyed our time. We bought the all-day tickets which cover all aquarium shows and exhibits. And we repeated all of them several times. The shark voyage is nice but the time was so little to enjoy the sharks.
If you are planning to spend the whole day it is better to park at the aquarium Park. It will cost additional 15 dollars.

Pretty fun experience. I found this is more of an experience for kids than adults. There are a few fun rides that my kids really enjoyed. The exhibit itself was pretty small compared to other aquariums I’ve visited. The stingray reef was my favorite part of our visit. Feeding and petting the stingrays was such an amazing experience. It was so worth the cost. We got all day passes and we took advantage and got on all the rides, walked through the exhibit twice. The train ride was so fun! I was a little bummed at first about not being able to see any sharks but the train ride takes you through a tunnel where all the sharks are. It was beautiful. This was such a fun family experience, I’d highly recommend for anyone to take their kids for a day!

My review is for the restaurant 🍽️. This was my sons and I first time eating here and we truly enjoyed ourselves! When making our reservation online, I mentioned being seated in front of the aquarium tank since this was our first visit to the restaurant. We arrived about 25 minutes prior to our 2pm reservation. There was no wait! The host was friendly! And guess what?! We got a great table in front of the aquarium tank!!! What a beautiful view to see sharks, stingrays and many fishes swim around while dining! 🐟 🐠 🦈 Our waitress name was Jasmine! She was awesome!!!!! Super friendly and sweet! She recommended the Cajun pasta - it was DELICIOUS! 10/10😋🍽️‼️ Another plus, the restrooms were clean! My family will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of visiting the aquarium while on vacation. It cost around $17 to tour the inside. To explore the outside rides and activities, it costs more. They don't offer a military discount.
The layout is well designed, and they even offer a restaurant on the 3rd floor. It also includes a bar. I didn't eat here, though.
The staff here are friendly and welcoming. I just wish the inside was bigger and featured more to offer to guests. However, I would still recommend visiting.

Relatively small aquarium with nice displays and themes throughout; specimens appear very healthy.
It's on three floors but the aquarium is really only on the ground floor, the second is devoted to the café and the third to special events.
There is an additional charge for the other attractions on site so overall, it's a bit pricey and you can see everything in 45 minutes taking your time.
They also have some beautiful tigers, so if the money is used to care for the creatures, then I don't mind paying.

The place is nice has quite a number of nice aquariums and some really cool fishes. I really enjoyed the part were you get to touch stingrays. I do feel some things are paywalled, for example you need to pay for a train ride to see the sharks and we didn't know about this until someone from our group went. For the price I feel you should be able to see all the animals, but its a good experience overall.

"The Houston Aquarium, despite being small, offers an unforgettable experience. It is well organized and laid out, making it ideal for visiting with children. In addition, it has accessible and affordable parking, which is convenient when being in downtown Houston, thus avoiding the worry of leaving the car far away.
The aquarium environment allows you to appreciate a variety of species native to the Texas Gulf, including fish, arachnids and reptiles, all carefully placed in compartments that simulate their natural habitat. We loved the experience of riding the train and watching the sharks and the impressive sawfish; Our baby was fascinated. In addition, the aquarium has a souvenir shop with affordable prices to take home a souvenir.
We decided to pay to enjoy the rides and attractions, and were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and politeness of the staff, some of whom speak Spanish. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant, which offers beautiful views of the aquarium. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious; We highlight the crocodile dish and the homemade soup, which left us with water in our mouths.
Regarding the comments about the tiger, it is true that it is caged outside its natural habitat, but it is evident that it receives adequate care. It would be positive to reflect on how to contribute positive feedback to improve and expand the tiger's quality of life, perhaps by providing companionship or considering its history as being rescued from a circus.
In short, we were delighted with our visit to the Houston Aquarium and recommend it 100%. It is a worthwhile experience

Small aquarium but really fun. The restaurant and the rides are great too. Went on a Saturday evening and it was not too crowded, we even got to be the last ride of the night on the merry go round. Nice views of the city lights. 👍
If I could give them 10 stars I would. We took our Daycare to pick strawberries 🍓 and the kids had a blast. Mr.T was amazing with the kids on the tour. He teaches them all about strawberries and how to pick them. The farm had great snow-cones the kids loved.
The play area is huge and kept the kids stimulated. We will definitely be back again.

This may have been the wrong time of the year for us to fully enjoy this place. The store was sparse. The prices were high even for a touristy area. To visit the strawberry 🍓 field it was $2 per person and $1.50 for a bucket 🪣. The strawberries you pick were $3.35a pound. I suppose if you were entertaining a couple of small kids that may be fun. We passed on the offer. There were other venues for fun. It may be nice in the summer with a couple of our grandkids.

Went here on the weekday with my sister to check out the corn maze and pumpkin patch. It was not busy during the weekday which was great. The corn maze itself was very well made, in the shape of a spiderweb. There are many cute photo ops, a water duck race, and a cool playground for the kids with a "hamster ball" type contraption that adults can enjoy as well. There were many other rides and attractions for children that are not open during the weekday, but they looked cool. The farm itself has an air conditioned indoor area where they sell fresh produce and run a small bakery. Overall a nice small farm to visit. The corn maze was definitely worth it!!

We came here for the strawberry picking and strawberry festival. $5 admission plus $2 per bucket, strawberries are $5/lb, plenty of parking on site. Overall, this was a neat experience. We came later in the season so most of the good strawberries had already been picked, so we had to search a little harder to find some really ripe ones. Blackberry season starts in May. They also have a little country store that sells a wide array of produce, jams, and pickled food.

They raised their prices again, but still good strawberries and good local produce. The customer service was a little off this time, usually very sweet and attentive. They seemed to be annoyed to weigh my fruit. I got a good amount, but waited until others had gone through so as to not hold up the line. The check out lady was totally sweet. I even picked weeds out there and fruit that was turning, not that they would have known or cared.

Froberg's has been a favorite in my family for years. However, this weekend, we attended the Fall Festival there. While waiting on family to arrive, my husband ordered some fried pies. The fruit pies were delicious as expected but the egg fried pie looked like it had been sitting in a puddle of oil and the grease dripped down our hands and arms when we picked it up. The fall fest was $15/person which is quite high for parents to sit and watch the kids play.

Came for the strawberry pickings. The strawberry festival side was closed due to the heavy rain we had the day before. $5 for admission and $3 to buy their bucket to keep. Highly recommend wear rain boots or crocs, the patches were very muddy. They have a garden hose for you to spray down your shoes and strawberries too when done. The kids had fun picking their own strawberries, so many rows to go through. Once done, you pay for the pounds of strawberries $5/lbs.
The National Museum of Funeral History is a museum that displays artifacts related to funerals, including items from famous people. It is unique because it is the only museum in the United States dedicated to this topic and it is also the largest educational center on funerary customs in the world.
I was not sure what I was getting myself into but I gotta say that this was much more then I expected. I was sorta expecting some low key or maybe goulash thing but it wasnt at all. It treated the subject with a very important overview that had me learn more then a few things.
It was pretty easy to find if a bit out there in Houston. The price was good and while maybe not a thing for very small kids. I can see this being a place for more mature kids.
I went during the week so it was not crowed at all so it gave me time to really look around at everything. If you want a museum unlike anything else anywhere then this is the place.

Absolutely amazing.
I can’t believe it took me so long to get here.
I’m thrilled so many schools do field trips here.
I would fallen in love with history at such a younger age.
Whether you go left or right —you’ll start with some big history either way. We went towards the dead presidents and made our way to the popes. In between are amazing vehicles.
There’s an entertainment section.
As well, as history of mourning and cremation.
I could’ve stayed there for hours.
I learned so much.
Beautiful displays and so tastefully done. Nothing was morbid or sick.
I feel I could go back once a month and see/learn something new. And with only a $10 entry fee—it’s absolutely feasible to do that.
The gift shop is the only time I’ve felt moved to buy something.
This place is truly a treasure for the Greater Houston community.

This museum is awesome, we had the best morning here. Rob, our volunteer tour guide was awesome and peppered our experience with interesting information and anecdotes. He says he is only there on Thursdays, so try to schedule a trip then! The theological context is interesting in the Catholic section of the museum, but it would be exciting to expand the collection to include non-Eurocentric or non-Christian approaches to death. Would also really benefit from more information on more alternative approaches to end of life processes. The work of Caitlin Doughty would be an example. We had a great time and would highly recommend you to anyone visiting Houston.

Awesome museum near Houston, one of the more unique and content-rich ones around here. Not a large place but has a lot of artifacts, weird facts and interesting history around the culture of funeral. Nicely organized and separated into various sections. Excellent museum! We have enjoyed this museum numerous times. We go back about once a year and the temporary exhibits are always interesting. And the permanent exhihits continue to amaze me. We love the scavenger hunt but I would suggest walking through the museum slowly first then do the scavenger hunt. This is so you can observe and enjoy the exhibits first before getting into a scavenger and miss something. We like this museum because we get educated, in a gentle, informative way about the processes taking place after people die. There is nothing morbid or gross or scary about the exhibits. They are all well thought out and selected to communicate a specific process in the death & burial processes of ours and other cultures.

I consider myself a taphophile, someone who likes cemeteries and funerals. When I found this museum while planning for free time during a work trip I was super excited. It was a cool museum but I felt like it could have been better.
A lot of the displays seemed random, not super tied to funerals.
That said, there was a section on famous people's funeral cards and programs. That was fun going through it although I'd have liked to flip through them (they were understandably behind glass). At the very least it would be cool to have digital copies I could scan a QR to access to flip through.
The display on the Shroud of Turin was also a highlight, super fascinating and provoking to the imagination. Also, Kane Quaye's fantasy coffins were fun.
Ultimately, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it but I felt the ticket price was a little higher than it was worth.

Out of the spots we chose to see during vacation, this was the furthest drive and glad we did. We went on a Monday before lunch, with no wait.
Like other reviewers mentioned, it’s not macabre. We loved the information packed into this museum. It showcased US Presidents’ funerals, info on embalming, clothing worn, Papal funerals, options available for yourself and loved ones when deceased, and the different vehicles used as ambulances/hearses. Wish it had more about funeral customs around more parts of the world, besides the few countries it did.
Thank you for getting the Shroud of Turin exhibit. It’s beautifully done.
The interactive quizzes were fun. We earned our 10% off and got some cute gifts from the museum shop.

This was an amazing museum way bigger than I expected. They have lots of fascinating exhibits including the Vatican replica of the shroud of Turin, right of papal death, presidential deaths, history of embalming and it's Egyptian origins, many interesting herses throughout history that are in great condition (no one better to care for a vehicle than an undertaker as they are often garaged and cleaned regularly), as well as fascinating coffins including one made of glass and one that was made for three people. Definitely worth checking out. I even got a tour from a worker that is only there on Thursdays, but he made my experience so mu h more interesting giving me a lot of history I might have missed if I went through on my own.

Death is something I've never been afraid of, and I don't view it as macabre. Still, I didn't really know what to expect when we arrived at the National Funeral Museum.
It was tastefully and respectfully done. Yes, a few things were a little off-putting, like the old embalming machine and replica crematorium chamber, but mostly the museum paid tribute to many celebrities and historical figures as well as death traditions and customs. Some of it made me melancholy, but only briefly. Mostly it was interesting and I learned a lot. I would definitely recommend for history and museum buffs and folks who like to go off the beaten path for activities.

Very interesting place.
We were in Houston for a day before a cruise out of Galveston. My friends were skeptical but agreed to come. We pulled into the parking lot in almost didn't go in. It is in a sketchy neighborhood with very secure fencing around the parking lot. There are signs in the parking lot saying They are not responsible for personal vehicles. However when I walked in there was a security guard who sits in front of cameras monitoring the parking lot. I do have to say the security guard did not have much of a personality however. The only other employee we found was the woman at the cash register, slow was an understatement.
I also was concerned about accessibility for a wheelchair. That was no problem either.
We ended up spending over 2 hours here. Grab a scavenger hunt when you walk in, makes it even more interesting looking for the answers.
Many different rooms for different interests. A room with celebrities, the Pope. Presidents. Interesting customized caskets.
I love their slogan any day above ground is a good one.

We enjoyed our experience here at the museum. The place is a lot larger than we expected. Took us about an hour and half to walk through but you could spend all day here!

This was actually an impressive museum. I didn’t have many expectations coming in to this but it was really nice. The exhibits are well done and very informative.

Amazing museum to visit with my family! Very educational and informative even to my non-morbid family. Thanks so much for the great couple of hours
Located in the heart of Houston, TX, the Children's Museum of Houston is a bustling family museum with a wealth of hands-on activities such as a Bubble Lab & Tot Spot. Established in 1980, the Childrens Museum aims to inculcate the passion of learning amongst children through its various interactive exhibits.
This is absolutely a wonderful place to take your child. It's amazingly busy of course, but the kids don't mind. It's is MUCH larger than you'd expect and you'll spend 4 plus hours here very easy. The level of engagement and the amount of wonder seen in their eyes is pretty great. Definitely worth a revisit

This is a super impressive place for kids to play, explore, and learn. It's beautifully done and has a ton of areas and things for kids to do to introduce them to intellectual concepts, imaginative play, and physical activity.
The Achilles heel of the place is that it is just completely overwhelming for really young kids. Our 2 year old struggled with just how crowded and intense the place was. Our 4 year old did a bit better.
Greg Eakins — Google review
It's the best children's museum I've been too. There's tons to do and plenty of interactive activities. I'd recommend planning on spending at least 3 hours here but you could easily spend more. We visited on a very busy day but the attractions/exhibits were still easily accessible. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This place is a must if you have little ones. They will be exhausted after a visit to this children's museum. They also have paid parking and a cafe inside.

Wonderful museum for kids, it has everything. This museum is full of hands on activities that are educational and entertaining. We spent over 4 hours there, and I'm sure the kids would have loved to spend even more time.
The parking garage is across the street, but there are also street parking nearby. Most of the street parking I saw were 2 hrs max though, except for Sunday.
Invention Convention has a bunch of fun STEM activities that allows the kids to build all sorts of contraptions. And my other son loved the grocery store and diner in the Kidtropolis.
This was a great destination for us to spend a fun filled afternoon. Our kids left with huge smiles on their faces.
Andy Lin — Google review
Lots of fun and interactive activities to do here, and there is even a mini town for kids. Any attractions will take a long time for the line is very long. Other than that, this place is great! Shout out to the staff who is always cleaning after the kids.
Queen Blossom — Google review
Definitely read the other reviews. It is a fun place that can last a whole day if your kids are older than 5 years. There are activities for the younger kids but not enough to last a whole day. During the summer will get very busy and as many reviewers have said, go on the weekdays if you can and not summer or breaks. We were there after July 4th and it was not bad, but still busy. Our kids had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave.
On other note, parking was not bad if you were there early. Buy tickets online so you can enter before others. I took that recommendation from the other reviewers.

Another amazing museum in Houston. This space has multiple floors with tons of hands on exhibits. There’s also the outdoor water area. Many of the exhibits are permanent but they also have temporary ones to honor different cultures. There is a small cafe which comes in handy after playing. There’s a small gift shop. They have a parking garage but there is also plenty of street parking. Free days are Thursday evenings. Check the website for various events like appearances from characters like Spider-Man and Paw Patrol. I’ve been taking my son since he was 1; he’s now 6 and still loves it. Kidtopia is probably our most favorite.
They also participate in Museums for All.

I wish I dedicated more time for city pass attractions. If you have kids and you want them to learn and play at same time, this is it…absolutely amazing experience.
It is so much fun 🤩
Parking is a little cumbersome so wear sneakers as it will be a long walk.

Nice place to bring the kids. They have so many interesting things for kids to play. We went on weekend and really crowded. Can’t really enjoy everything because too many people. I think during weekday will be the best to go.

Great experience with the family. Now, I haven't been since I was a kid myself so there's obviously new additions. Kidtropolis was very engaging and hands on for the kiddos. They still have the giant telephone man made of land line phones. The biggest nostalgic memory that made my day was that they had the SAME blue van in the Mexican village section of the museum!!! My kids climbing in and playing around like I used to do almost 30 years ago, really made my day.
Kevin Finnerty — Google review
You know I was very surprised by this place.. I was pretty skeptical at first from the outside.. but man this was a blast. Tons and tons to do, keeping the kiddo thought process working throughout. There are tons of little projects to do, inside playground to beat the heat, a very nice parking deck, I didn't try the cafe though but it smelt amazing. Definitely recommend for the kiddos!
jarrod london — Google review
Four entire floors of fun plus an entire outside area. My kid can spend an entire day here playing. She loves kidtropolis and it’s just as fun for adults (dare I say).
Bring a towel and change of clothes cause your kiddo will get wet from playing outside

A great place for children, I recommend that you come early so you can visit its 10 areas, the staff is very clean but they were not very friendly except for the one at the window check He was very friendly but the others have 3 stars for me.
Karla Santos — Google review
We had a lot of fun here. There is a lot to do and see. The learning aspect almost seems like it’s for older kids and the playing aspect seems like it’s for younger kids so I think it is hard to say what exact age group this type of place is for. So we did more of the playing type activities and skipped a lot of the learning aspects. Our favorites were the grocery store, veterinary office and the outdoor water play area. Everything was very clean but some things were broken and not working. The kids can be the adults in the mini city and have “jobs” and earn paychecks. The adults can be the kids and have dinner served at the diner or bring their sick pet to the veterinarian. The food court cafe was good to stop for lunch and the staff there were so nice and helpful. There were a lot of school classes coming through so it got very busy and loud at times. Bring a change of clothes if you think you need it for the water play area. About half the area is shaded so there were places to stand in the shade while the kids played. There is a small outdoor playground with slides. The indoor climbing structure was closed when we visited. There is a small area that had baby chicks, a snake and some turtles to view also.

We had an amazing weekend and experience.
There was something to do to everyone in the family. We are a family of 6 and all ages, our kiddos loved all different activities, even though it was a weekend, all kids had a chance to enjoy all activities.

It was a fun experience, definitely more than we could do in a morning! We have a membership and it's totally worth it if you're near this location or the Fort Bend Discovery Center. The miniature town was fun and is current Mexico themed (some of the older pictures show a different theme for the town - those are either outdated or from the Fort Bend Discovery Center). Staff was great, helpful, and there's even a little library here!

It's an ideal place for children (toddler to teenage kids.)
They hiked the parking price to $15
My toddler enjoys it a lot.
There is a free family night event on every Thursday 5pm to 8pm.

Great time! We came with our 7yrs old boy. EVERYTHING works in here, lots of interective and learning mechanisms. Very colorful all around and overall happy environment. Highly recommended. We spent good 3-4 hours and never a dull moment here.

We took our 15-month-old and he loved it. We played in the baby & toddler section for about an hour. Then moved outside to explore. So many kids, so much fun. He did get soaked outside in the water activities, so bring a change of clothes.

It was a great day for my 4 year old son. There were so many educational activities to get kids engaged with STEM. As a physicist, I loved the chaotic pendulums, so many different circuits to build alarms, and light up lamps, and so many more activities.
We got a free ticket because we were Bank of America account holders, and we just showed our IDs and debit cards. But this promotion was valid in the first weekend of every month. It was extremely busy for a weekend.
I liked the restaurant inside the building and their food was good, though it took so long to get ready. We will definitely be back there.

This place is a GIFT. In a word: resources. It’s a huge complex with so many areas I’ve been going for years and still can’t say I know it completely. It’s always surprisingly clean, offering science and cultural activities, always hands on, indoor and outdoor, personnel is always friendly and knowledgeable. In the makers area you find everything your kids might need to make stuff, they even have laser cutting machines, copy machines, in their shop. Every Thursday family night with free entrance, covered parking is usually just 5 dollars.

It seems like every week they always have something new going on here! I swear this is one of the best and safest places to take your kids too❤️
The Houston Museum of Natural Science is an interesting museum that contains permanent exhibits on a variety of different science-related topics. The Planetarium is especially popular, and it presents a range of astronomy and science shows for visitors to enjoy. The butterfly house is also a nice touch.
Great place to go explore. Lots of interactive exhibits. About 1/4 of the museum is something that you have to pay extra for so keep that in mind. The exhibits were daily clean and there were hand sanitizer stations throughout the museum. Great spot for children or curious adults. We spent about two hours here exploring all of the different floors. We went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded. Good overall experience.

Great museum!! Lots to do and look at if you live in the area or close enough the membership is totally worth it. Each special exhibit was an additional cost. The "shows" in the theater are shown on a dome screen sit high up so you don't have to tilt your head up so far we saw the "death of the dinosaurs" I felt it could have been better I most likely won't be paying extra for the theater shows anymore but Ramses exhibition was worth the additional cost. Thursdays have free entrance hours just check their website for details.

Absolutely stellar museum. Honestly, the best natural science museum I have ever gone to. The Paleontology, Fossilized Wood, and Gem exhibits were our favorites; but the entire museum was incredible. The exhibits were large with a plethora to see and learn about.
I highly recommend getting there as soon the museum opens if you don't want to be stuck in crowds. We showed up at 9 and didn't encounter any crowds until we went to exit.
We will 100% be back!

Along with the Zoo this was the star of the city pass attractions.
Negatives are high add an prices for things like the King Tut exhibit which was overshadowed by the included, permanent Egypt Hall.
With that out of the way the crowd was much better managed that other city pass attractions and the dinosaurs, and geology sections were awesome along with the Egypt sections. Amazing.
Hidden in the back of the second floor is the geology section with some of the most amazing gems and geological structures I have ever seen. And further hidden in the gem vault are some stunning pieces of jewelry.
Dinosaurs to gems to mummies, this is a great stop. We ran for three hours and couldn’t see it all. Leave more time.

This museum is amazing! My group ended up spending about 6 hours here and barely scratched the surface of what is available to see. It’s definitely something that could be made into a multi-day event. Every exhibit has interesting things to look at and learn from. I went into every section expecting it to not be nearly as cool as the last and was pleasantly surprised every time when I was wrong! My favorite area of what I had time to see was the gem and natural mineral section. Pressure and time create some amazing things!
Clay Patrick (ClayDay) — Google review
You could spend all day in the permanent exhibition. There are so many wonderful and fascinating pieces that have been collected and displayed for the public it is truly amazing. The three level butterfly habitat was also really spectacular.
BUT, these are my two big complaints for my visit today…
1. I wish there was more security or museum employees to supervise the butterfly habitat. We witnessed several adults and children not following the instructions you are given before you enter the enclosure. More upsettingly we walked past a couple laughing about how the butterfly they touched wouldn’t fly.
2. Please do yourself a favor and eat ANYWHERE else before visiting. The food from the grill is ABSOLUTELY not worth the wait or your money. Food resembles nothing of the pictures, bread was half toasted, half cooked bacon, over cooked patties, and everything was just thrown on.. seating to eat the food is also very limited. Learn from our mistake.
Overall it was a great experience for our first time and hope the next one will be better.

Great place to visit. There is so much to see and do for everyone. They have tons of permanent exhibits you get to check out with your ticket (you can go in and out of these exhibits all day so hold on to your ticket). Plus they have fun extra things to check out like the butterfly and the Egyptian exhibits (you do have to pay a little extra for those though still worth it). You can't take in food/drinks but you can leave and come back in.

This place is so big you really need open to close to see it all. So let’s start by free Thursdays. The website is not updated so it’s only free from 5-8pm parking is $30.00 if you park within the parking lot however if you can find street parking or cheaper near I suggest that. Everything in the museum district is close together. Also the up-sale is the little exhibits which we skipped. However the museum is so fun and exciting. It’s for all ages being a stroller for little ones. All the restrooms are clean all the signs were easy to read to navigate a lot of benches to rest. Overall 10/10

It was truly amazing, so many exhibits to see and not enough time to get through all of them. Each exhibit has a cost of its own. I did the Butterfly exhibit, Regular exhibit and the Shark exhibit. The regular exhibit has the Dinosaurs and Egyptian history. It was great to see paleontologists there to answer any questions. The butterfly was very beautiful and loved the interaction with the different species of butterflies. The shark exhibit was great, you get to touch a little shark! I would go back to try the space exhibit.

This museum will always be a hit for me. I love the atmosphere and the amazing customer service. Only advice I give people is to buy your tickets in advance, especially on the weekends because they will sell out for their temporary exhibits. Also the lines on the weekends are huge so be prepared for that. The permanent exhibits are amazing and the food court is okay. We had the pleasure to see a movie in their planetarium called passport to the universe, the experience was lovely and something I definitely recommend if you get a chance to. Overall I always love the experience I get here!

3 stars because PRICES ARE NOT AS ADVERTISED IN PERSON. It went from a $140 trip to $220 real fast. Just for admission. Pricing is very deceiving. In my opinion the “King Tut” exhibit is not worth the money. The hall of Egypt had wayyyy more awesome things and was included in the normal pass. Staff at the food court seemed to hate their jobs and were all rude. We went for our daughters Sweet 16 celebration and she had a good time because of course kids don’t pay attention to all that stuff and that’s all that matters to us. The website says allow 2hrs to explore but that is not nearly enough time if you want to enjoy the place. It definitely is worth going back a second time and spending the whole day there. Maybe we will encounter nicer employees and prices next time.

Went to the museum this past weekend with family from out of town. The kids and adults all loved it. The richness of display from the dinosaurs, Texas wildlife, minerals and Ancient Egypt was something to see. Our tour was quick just because we had a lot of little ones who became eager to leave to go eat.
Plan to go for a good part of the day if you really want to enjoy this gem!!
I highly recommend this as MUST see for anyone visiting the Houston area. Even better it's minutes away from Herman park and the Houston Zoo.

What a truly remarkable experience. I spent 4 hours there and still didn’t see everything! Everything is beautifully displayed. If you’ve gone to the San Antonio museum before, this one will definitely top it! The staff is kind and informative. The museum itself is so informational, I’m already planning a second trip 😅 It’s very clean but the only downside was parking. Almost didn’t find a spot.

Such an excellent Museum space for all historical Natural Science monuments. You get to see a wide array of Dinosaur fossils in all shapes and sizes (yes they got the T-Rex too!). The basic sciences section has all the fun games and activities related to physics and chemistry which are a treat for young ones and adults alike!
There are entire ecosystems that feature all the prominent animals of that respective ecosystem presented in a very attractive and informative way. The models/real life creatures are a sight to behold.
This place is great for learning and easily takes upto 2 hours to explore the permanent exhibits. We did not see the additional exhibits such as the butterfly garden or the cinematic rides.
I am surely stoked to visit this place again for a second time!

Have been to so many exhibits here and am just so happy that this place exists. It showcases educational and historical entertainment which is hard to find these days! Great for both kids & adults. They have a neat little café to enjoy some food while waiting for your show, if you're hungry. It can get packed on the weekends, buy your tickets online!

This place is amazing. It has a huge collection of dinosaurs. Huge collection of amazing shells. The Cabinet of Curiosities area was so much fun to explore and the kids loved looking in the drawers etc (though some of the drawers need maintenance). The gems and rocks were quite interesting. And can’t say enough about how detailed and awesome the energy floor was. It covered so many topics from the energy perspective and explained in great detail many of the concepts that most people take for granted. 1 day almost wasn’t enough time to fully experience everything here.

Love every time that I go and visit the butterfly exhibit was recently reopen but theres several exhibits including the newest one king Tut the sharks but the exhibit halls are classic. I also love to view B Baker Planetarium... It's great for dates or if you want to take children. Fun fact every Thursday it's free

Pretty cool place, honestly would give it a 5 star but you have to spend a lot extra when entering to see some of the exhibits and I just am not a big fan of that. The place is very beautiful and well maintained though. Customer service was kinda garbage, definitely recommend on the city pass! The gem room was by far the coolest part of the museum I think.

It’s a great place for anyone to come inside afor a respite from the weather—and a great way to spend the day.
The King Tut exhibit was much smaller than expected. Egyptian exhibit (outside King Tut) was more exciting.
The regular exhibits are always a delight.
Planetarium shows are a good variation and time selection.
Three hour parking available nearby.
Parking garage is $30 for non-members and $10 for members.
Staff everywhere is always so courteous.

Entry to most exhibitions was included with the Houston City Pass deal. When you go in, join the member ticket line (which is shorter) so they can scan your code on your pass. I paid $27 extra to see the King Tut's Tomb Discovery Experience. The whole place is amazing and there is so much to see and take in. I particularly enjoyed the gemstones and dinosaur displays but really everything was intriguing. Highly recommend when you are in Houston.

Been to many a museum in my travels and this was one was very nice. I highly recommend doing the city pass that pays for itself with 2 or 3 museum visits when you get 5 in total. Entry way and ticketing was easy and you need a ticket even if you have the citypass. Planetarium was cool and has shows a about every half hour. Lots of shells, geodes, shark area, dinosaur area.. all pretty standard for a nat science museum. Definitely a place for the kiddos to visit.

Trust me this was the best part of my visit to Houston on the city past(I don't recommend getting) just pay for this place straight up. It has 4 levels and so many Interactive Learning stations. They have exhibits for the King Tut, the planetarium shows a video about every hour. I will definitely visit again! Highly recommend it. Parking is first come first served near the front door(free). Family friendly, date friendly, something for everyone. You will not be disappointed!!!! 10 stars if I could. Open from 9am-5pm. Plan to spend the day worth every penny spent.

Very nice museum experience! Appreciate the artifacts and all of the exhibits. There are so many!!! Recommend taking a few hrs to see all of the floors. Wish the special exhibits were available free, but I guess they have to make a profit somewhere.

Huge museum packed with everything you need to fill a whole day. Educational and informative with plenty of dioramas and interactive displays.
It would be nice to see more on conservation and sustainability as several galleries clearly show exploitative companies and practices favourably because of their sponsorship.
The permanent displays are included in the price, but frustratingly, the temporary and special exhibits require additional payments.
However, the dinosaur exhibition hall is outstanding, possibly the best I've come across while travelling the world.
The Museum of Fine Arts Houston is a large art museum with a collection from all over the world. It is situated in the heart of Houston and has an impressive underground tunnel connecting the two main galleries. The Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens are also located close by and offer visitors a beautiful oasis to stroll around.
MC Escher exhibit is great! They have the prints but also many of the wood cuts and blocks on display.right next to them. Very interesting, I've never seen an exhibit like that. This was also my first time in the Kinder building, very impressive and fun space. More contemporary works, great flow to the museum. Fun tunnel back to the Beck building.

We took advantage of going to the museum on Thursday and I realized that every Thursday is totally free, something very good for the family and large groups of friends.
We park the parking lot of the museum itself but you also have the opportunity to park on the street (if you are lucky)
The entrance was quite fast, no queues or waiting. I think that having the tickets already purchased makes access much easier.
The place is incredible, everything is organized, clean and quite easy to follow the route.
It is an excellent place to meet and enter the world of art and a Excellent idea for a date too.

Awesome experience! Amazing arts in there love how they have a little summary beside the paintings explaining into detail. I loved it definitely some interesting stuff. It is a lot of walking tho!! Be prepared. If you’re going to go with your kids be aware that they don’t touch anything because you cannot touch any of the art plus there’s always people watching. Be respectful. I do recommend! I believe it’s free on Thursdays if you don’t want to spend $ it’s perfect!

By far one of the most knowledgeable and enjoyable art staffs I’ve ever been around. Outside of being phenomenal sales agents, wonderful concierge and receptionists; each person you encounter will most likely have some tidbit of knowledge about the selected texts, curated production pieces and set pieces or even just history of the site and the facility. Walking into this specific MFA is both a classically endearing experience with histories most resilient and timeless works of art, but also an incredible showcase of the humans of Houston and how phenomenal they are.

A comprehensive, accessible and well organised exposure to the historical arc of Western fine art. Go up the escalators, take a U turn, follow the Egyptian exhibit all the way to the end, and then enter the galleries through the maroon rooms. That way, you get to see how aspects of aesthetics and content in the paintings and sculptures ebbed and flowed with time. Or, find your own sequence of experiences! Gift shop is just 🤩
Thursdays free, very welcoming staff at the front desk!

It’s really great to visit!!
I spend 6 hours there, 3pm till close but my visit still not complete!!
It because I love arts, I enjoy watching them (at least one minute each), read their description (yes, every single one of them) and watched all cinematic arts, that’s why 6 hours wasn’t enough for me.
So I’ll go again next week.
If I understand it rightly there’re 4 buildings of arts including the art school for us to visit.
Tips: FREE general admission on every Thursday!!!

Come culture yourself and let the museum enchant you with its wide collection of art from early age to modern day, there’s something for everyone. You need more than half a day to truly take it all in, there so much to see and it’s only $24 for an all access entry. My personal favorite was the magical installation by Yayoi Kusama’s “Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity” inside the Kinder Building.
There are also plenty of eating options around the area so fuel up before coming, leave and come back the same day, or work up an appetite.
Oh and one more thing……wear comfortable shoes, you’ll do A LOT of walking.

Best place to go if you are interested in art! It includes 3 buildings with 3 different topic, they are connected by elevators, so you don't have to worry about crossing the road. It took us few minutes to find parking garage, but it's all good. Make sure you are wearing a comfortable shoes, otherwise you will have hard time to finish all 3 buildings, they all have elevators, but every level is pretty big, so you will have some walking.

This place is all things fine. But they are strict with trying use any type of tripod or selfie stick. The tickets were free and the time was not limited. Parking was only 10 dollars and if it wasn’t raining I would just walked to the other museums everything is close together. So this place is so big and is connected by tunnels. They have staff all over to help and direct you. A lot of sitting places. The food at the cafe is standard little high but not bad. All of the exhibits were so nice.

This is a fascinating museum. It has three buildings connected by tunnels with different kinds of art installations.
The video screen installation by the main entrance was fascinating to the young and old alike.
It is well worth the visit. I could have spent far more time here. The museum map does show what installations are in which galleries, so if you have a particular interest you can get there more efficiently.

I was pleasantly surprised by the collection of this museum. The mix of European art with other regions of the world really brings a balance to the perception that visitors can get in their visit. The buildings are large and don’t feel cluttered, and the artwork is well preserved. I recommend the museum thinking about a recommended visit for newcomers, or an audio guide that can give more insight into specific works (if there was one, it was not offered to us).

Simply Excellent! What a collection of some awesome art! This is housed in a collection of buildings connected via some beautiful tunnels.
Lot of great art from all over the world. There were also some temporary exhibitions which were spectacular - the impressionist exhibit and another spectacular immersive experience by Yayoi Kusama!
We visited for a couple of hours over Thanksgiving weekend and there is so much more to do at this museum. We could have easily spent another 4+ hours.
Parking Tip - Park at 1144 Binz street - easy access to the Beck Building.
Bag Tip - do not take your bag or even water into this museum as you will need to go to another building to drop off your bag - not worth it.
Food tip - we didn’t eat here but heard that it was expensive $$$ - lots of good eating options nearby (Fia’s Pizzeria for example is a 5 min walk. You can take the car but may need to pay for parking twice.)

Went to check out the Kinder building. Absolutely mind blowing! Such a treasure to have such an expansive and well curated collection right here in Houston Texas. Free entry on Thursdays is just the cherry on top!
I highly recommend this world class institution to anyone who lives in or visits Houston

Went for a special birthday brunch for a dear friend, and we all had the four course option. Everything was beautifully plated and balanced not only visually but in flavor as well. A great choice for a special occasion or for a special treat.

Rich exhibits of various time periods. Very nice campuses spread across multiple blocks. There are tunnels connecting different buildings that's very convenient. Will definitely come back in the future.

I've been in this museum several times, visiting non permanent expositions, and always is a treat. Always when I am done with the non permanent exposition, I reserved some time to wander around all the different permanent expositions and every single time I really enjoy it. If you are an art lover, you must visit this museum.

Super rude staff forcing us to leave the museum because they want to lock up early. I’ve been to museums in dozens of countries and never had one close up so rudely. We were informed at 16:49 that the museum was closing soon and there were 5 min left before making our way to the exit. Ok, fine that’s normal. We walk to take a quick look at the remaining exhibit but are told we cannot see it, we need to leave. I look at my watch it’s still 10 min before closing… but they don’t care. They basically hound us and follow us out of the building. As you can see from my picture we are out of the museum by 16:53… I wonder if this is how staff are trained to interact with guests?
The art itself is good, the experience was poor.

Such a wonderful museum. The Kehinde Wiley exhibit was undoubtedly my favorite exhibit. It took us a few hours to see the whole museum, so wear comfortable walking shoes. There are a lot of other museums and art work to experience in the area too!

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and we really enjoyed the exhibits. The staff at the front desk and throughout the several buildings were all kind and welcoming. There were not many people in the area or so it seemed because we were able to take our time and not feel crowded / rushed. Overall would return and continue exploring as we did not get to view the entire museum due to time.

Fantastic collection of pieces covering hundreds of years of history.
Loved the descriptions of each room on the wall to help give some background information on pieces on display.
Whilst the collection being spread across 3 buildings is a bit cumbersome - having to wander between them was actually very nice and added to the experience.
The Houston Zoo is a must-see for all animal lovers, with over 6,000 animals in habitats that are more authentic for the animals and more immersive for visitors. The zoo is currently undergoing a massive renovation project that will complete in 2022.
I recently visited the Houston Zoo, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The first thing that struck me was its sheer size - it’s massive! There’s so much to explore and discover. From the moment we entered, we were impressed by the wide range of activities tailored for all ages. It was a delightful experience for everyone in our group, from the little ones to the adults.
The zoo’s well-designed layout made navigation a breeze, and we loved how every exhibit seemed to transport us to a different part of the world. The variety of animal species on display was truly impressive, and it was heartening to see the care and attention given to the animals’ well-being.
One standout feature was the fun activities scattered throughout the zoo. Whether it was interactive exhibits, animal shows, or educational talks, there was never a dull moment. It really enhanced our visit and made it a day filled with joy and learning.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide helpful insights about the animals. Plus, the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities were top-notch.
Overall, the Houston Zoo is an excellent destination for families, friends, or even solo visitors looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of wildlife and nature. I highly recommend this zoo, and I can’t wait to visit again!

We went during the week and our reservation time was for 9:00 am so it was easy to park and get in the zoo. The later you go, parking becomes a nightmare, so keep that in mind. We had a great visit. I love that it opens at 9 because it gives the kids and I time to enjoy the zoo before it’s lunch and nap time. We were lucky and the animals were out and about that day. The other guests there were respectful or space and taking turns. Some people wore masks, some did not. The only place I was nervous about the closeness was in the reptile house, so we hurried through and continued seeing the animals that are outside. I do wish there were more bathrooms along the way. Seeing the zoo with 2 little ones, someone always has to use the bathroom, ALWAYS. It was a great trip to the zoo. I know we could have easily spent more time there.

It was our first time visiting here. It was such a great zoo. Plenty of shade. The water pond in the middle of the zoo when you walked in was beautiful. We got to see the new exhibit. It was awesome! We rented one of the motorized wheelchairs for my mom. It was like $45 I think for the day. It had a canopy and basket for items. It was my moms first timing using a motorized one and she loved it. My family loved this zoo. We bought water bottles here for $5 each and then refilled them with the refill stations. We would love to visit again if we get the chance.

Great zoo! Fun and easy walk throughout the park. Animals seemed happier than most zoos I’ve been to. Elephants were playing. Be prepared to walk if you don’t get there early for a parking spot. I recommend skipping the hassle of trying to find a spot and just parking at the history museum garage and taking the awesome stroll through Hermann Park. Which is beautiful!

We went on Thanksgiving Day after we had dinner. There were more people than I had expected but it was still a relatively small crowd. There were so many different locations and variations of lights that everything felt fresh and the fake snow was a really great touch. They had little smore sections and my kids really enjoyed that. This is definitely a tradition we want to keep up in future years.

Really enjoyed this zoo. All the animals are super active. Make sure before you get there, you purchase tickets online as they do not have a ticket counter, but if you didn't, you can scan a QR code and purchase at the gate. We didn't get to go through the whole zoo, so im sure we will be back to see it all. The area around has recently been renovated, so if you just want to walk around the park outside of the zoo, it looks really nice. Also around it is some museums which I will for sure go see next trip.

The Houston zoo is a very nice zoo. We've been going since children and all the updates they've done over the years definitely add to the experience.
It's always clean and tidy with great locations for snacks and beverages. The staff and keepers are all awesome and very knowledgeable of their respective exhibits. There are also a ton of volunteers here too which is awesome.
We've recently decided to get a membership because it's really nice to just be able to pop in any time you like for a stroll. It's like a stroll in the park but full of lovely and exotic animals.
I used to love seeing the familiar white alligator in the reptile exhibit but they've since relocated him to a nature reserve south of Houston.
The zoo can get really busy on the weekends and I would highly recommend getting here before 10am otherwise you'll be driving circles trying to find a parking spot.

BOO ZOO! One of our favorite times of year to visit the zoo. Great experience for the family as always. Parking was not awful today but I will say the last 5 times we’ve tried to go on Friday or Saturday we haven’t found a parking spot. Definitely would recommend going during the week and earlier in the day if at all possible. But once you get inside it’s a really great zoo! Tons of updates have happened since we’ve moved here nearly 10 years ago and I feel like each time we go there are always improvements happening to make the zoo even better!

Be careful, it may be too hot and humid to visit during the summer as we did, but the experience itself was pretty good. I am an optimist, so I just imagined being on a safari in the jungles or something 🤣
But I would not recommend going there during excessive heat; otherwise, you will have a mixed experience of joy and suffering.
Be prepared to pay extra 9 bucks for three salad leaves if you want to get close to the giraffes 😬
Not all animals were there, especially some big cats and rhinos. But maybe they are just smarter than us and stayed in the shadows 😅
Overall, it was a very cool and educational journey!

I love the zoo. Their newest exhibit, the Galapagos Islands, is awesome. I go to the zoo frequently, I go both with friends and alone. I enjoy the exhibits greatly, my favorite is the primates. I can sit for a very long time watching them, and I believe that watching these animals has made me care about them/their natural habitats more. Some animal exhibits, notably the older ones, are less fun to look at. The big cats, like the tiger, are in pretty small spaces and end up pacing back and forth endlessly. The seals were in a container like this, without a lot of space, but they were recently moved to a fantastic space with the creation of the Galapagos exhibit. The Houston zoo is pretty good at keeping the animals in healthy environments, and I see them constantly working to make things better for the animals. The employees are very kind and many will stop and talk to me at length about the history or preferences of animals in the zoo. I love the big pretzels they sell at the zoo, even though they are $8.

Really enjoyed the zoo. Went on a Monday with SO and bonus child! She fights going to daycare so I figured I would take her to do something fun! I liked that it was not crowded! Grabbed a pretzel with cheese and a vanilla latte from a stand. It was good! Definitely recommend the Houston Zoo!

The 1st Tuesday of the month is FREE DAY! My friends and I were lucky to snag some tickets and enjoy a wonderful day of exploration at the zoo.
First off the restrooms here are so CLEAN. Thank you. I'm always scared to use public restrooms in tourist spots but they do such a good job of keeping this zoo sanitary.
Tons of families, couples, and groups of friends viewing the animals. Most animals had a buddy in their enclosure so it was nice to see the efforts they put in the make sure the animals aren't alone.
Very easy to navigate with the maps and arrows all over the park. Tons of restrooms and free water refill. It's nice they let you bring outside food and drinks as well as a cooler!
We finished the zoo in about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Perfect amount of time and lots of shaded areas as well as indoor AC viewing.
Lovely little zoo. I'd bring friends and family here!

Great zoo to visit if you are in Houston! Lots of exhibits and fun things to look at! The entry price is reasonable and we got the extra ticket for the dinosaur attraction that is seasonal. Great for small children. Lots of walking, but plenty of places to sit and rest. There are food and snack options but a little pricey and just ok. I think they could expand the food options tremendously and probably make a killing with revenue.
Things to consider: the zoo is located in the museum district just a short walk from the natural history museum which is another great place to visit, but parking is terrible. Get there early or be prepared to have to drive around quite a bit to find parking. You can park at the museum parking garage but that runs about $30. I like to take a ride share if possible. Traffic is bad everywhere in Houston so it is what it is.

Me and my kiddos went two days ago on Tuesday and had a blast! Lovely spring weather and not many people in the zoo despite the parking lot being full! Guess most people were in the park next to it. Lots of the animals were out and moving around which was super awesome and one of the gorillas even came up to the window to say hi to us! Didn’t catch his name though

The Zoo is always a blast, downside to the zoo is the parking but it really isn’t that bad just don’t try to park right in front closest to the entrance gates. We arrived at noon on a Sunday and realized most of the animals are asleep at this time. So I’d recommend going earlier. There was a car-line to get in since it was a weekend and parking lot was crowded however the line to enter the Zoo was basically empty (we buy our ticket online 1000% suggest). We also shared a nice picnic at the park outside the zoo near the train station, beautiful shade and perfect weather. 10/10 Experience!

I LOVE this Zoo! The membership price is so worth it if you live in Houston or the burbs. Two visits and you’ve already paid for the memberships- totally a steal! The exhibits are well done. The animals are in very beautiful habitats and that makes me happy. The staff really takes care of them. Their entire motto is “See Them. Save Them” and I love that they really work to protect and save all of these beautiful creatures. In December they do Houston Zoo Lights and it’s phenomenal! The weather is usually very enjoyable and the lights are spectacular. They even have photos with Santa which is super cute. My one piece of advice is GO EARLY. Parking gets insane on the weekends and you can spend 45 minutes trying to park. Also, bring a stroller! It’s a ton of walking! If you go in summer, bring lots of water, snacks and even a fan! You will love going here!

What a terrific zoo! The main reason for yesterday's visit was to see the new Galapagos Island exhibit and it did not disappoint! It was amazing and we got to hear them talk about the sea lions and watch them get treats. We also heard about the exhibit itself and all the features it has. Beyond the sea lion pool was a wonderful exhibit of other island wildlife. So much fun to wander through and see the other animals and sea life. The rest of the zoo is also a winner! Not only are the exhibits very well done, but there is plenty of seating to relax and just enjoy the environment. The primates, elephants, giraffes, and birds were my favorite. The landscaping adds to the overall feel. Well done!

I always love going here! There's so much to see! I also love how they're adding new stuff and fixing things. They added the underground seal exhibit. Which kind of scared me because being under the water made me feel like I was drowning! But that's not a bad thing, I'm just scared of water haha. It was so cool seeing the seals swim above you! This is a perfect place to bring family or friends or just yourself. The workers are always willing to help and on a weekday it's not as busy as it would be on the weekend. There are plenty of bathrooms with air conditioning. And there's a lot of different places you can refill a bottle of water. However, I wish the refill of water areas had actually cooled cold water but at least they're available for free.
One of my favorite parts is near the petting zoo, there's this silly cow there that loves to have its neck pet! The only thing I don't really care about the zoo is definitely the drive there, but that's not the zoo's fault. Sometimes parking can be a little difficult. Other than that this is a perfect place to go!

Over all pretty good experience but definitely could use some water sprayers and stronger fans
Getting the city pass would be the only way to come here and they still can have issues trying to check in with those too so just a fyi. And if it's too hot all the cats won't be available and other animals and no warnings when you enter the zoo. The sea lions where entertainment but no good shade and there was only two out of nine out during my visit.

It was Labor Day weekend when we visited this zoo. It was a super hot day so like the humans, the animals probably were trying to get some relief too, so many of the animals were not as active. Best to go early in the morning… bring an umbrella for shade and a portable fan. I like that there are many indoor exhibits peppered throughout the zoo to get some air conditioning relief! Lol. We loved the Galapagos exhibit. Overall it was a nice zoo. Easy to redeem Houston city pass. My only suggestion, the flow of the zoo was at times confusing to navigate without a map. Clearer signage would be helpful in certain parts. Would love to visit in the fall during the cooler months.

Just as awesome as I remembered it, maybe better. Came on a Tuesday afternoon to avoid the huge crowds and it was the best idea ever. Very lightly people-y and only one or two exhibits closed for remodel. Had a delicious everything pretzel and enjoyed the relatively cool day with my husband looking at all the awesome animals. Couldn't be a better day in my book.

Nice to visit when the weather is cool, (we cane in December)! It seemed most all the animals were out & moving around which made it such an enjoyable experience. We had a few friends with us who had never been, so that was neat! They had all the Christmas light stuff out too, which is a great experience if you have a chance to go. But, it was neat getting to see it during the day!

The Houston Zoo was one of the best attractions we experienced while visiting Houston. It is a beautiful and clean zoo with plenty of shade and places to rest . Great variety of animals to see. Such a wonderful zoo for a fun family outing when the weather is nice and cool. The new Galapagos Islands exhibit is awesome! You might have to wait in line for a few minutes but it's so worth the wait. Don't forget to bring a reusable water bottle, there are refilling stations. The cost for water and food is very high as expected but the cafe does have some tasty options. I suggest bringing a backpack with snacks so you can have a picnic by the lake in the adjacent Herman Park or at one of many shaded picnic benches throughout the zoo.

We travel the country and go to a lot of zoos. This one is in our top 3 of favorites. It is well laid out and easy to navigate. They are so many animals, we can not think of anything we didn't see! Favorites were the giraffes and elephants. I went straight for the sloth to get a pic for my grandson, and he was in a corner, so the pic wasn't that great. We went back 3 hrs later to see if he had moved, and nope, he was in the same spot! We had a great time!

We recently went Easter weekend, jammed packed but overall experience was ok, I haven't been in 2 years and they had an awesome literally cool underground tunnel with the aquarium going over you. I thought that area was super nice... it's the 1st exhibit on your right side when you walk in. I always enjoy the Zoo there. It's beautiful 😍 and an awesome workout 💪 literally hours of walking.

What a great zoo experience. Probably my favorite so far in Texas. What I noticed that was a big difference from other zoos is they had more benches along the way to sit and watch the animals and more bathrooms! Both of which are very helpful when you're a mom! There was also a lot of canopy shade which helped ease the heat and made for an overall better experience. I did find some of the signs/map a bit difficult to navigate but sometimes you just have to go with the flow. We especially enjoyed the kids interactive stuff at the meerkat area, aquarium etc. The only part I could say I did not enjoy was the Gorilla area. It was so over crowded with people looking into plexi glass room at the "playing gorillas" it honestly reminded me of something out of a Planet of the Apes movie. I rated this zoo a 5 because of the family element, actual care of the zoo (well kept), amount of animals and interactive activities, and rest stops and bathrooms (which for any family is very helpful). The surrounding park is very nice too. P.S. Parking is awful, good luck.

This is definitely a family favorite. It’s a very clean zoo. I feel like they have a variety of animals.
Parking is free. Be aware that parking on some days might be tough. It gets very heavily visited on those holidays, and the traffic in and out could take awhile. Be patient.
There are a variety of activities beyond the animal exhibits like train ride, merry-go-round and playground.
I’d recommend getting the family pass so you can take your time visiting a little bit at a time.

Always a long wait time to enter and if you go on a weekend good luck finding a parking space. I do like that they let you bring in your own food and refreshments which is unusual for businesses now a days. Animals are pretty much what you expect to see at the zoo. Go prepared, it’s a lot of walking especially for smaller children. They do rent out strollers if you don’t have one.
Alondra Garcia — Google review
Fun zoo prices aren’t too high fun for the family and even for a date. The animals are easy to see and don’t have to spend your all time searching for them. Information and educational. OK loved it. Holiday lights is a little boring but fun experience at least once I like the reptile house nice selection of snakes and spiders. I haven’t seen the new Galapagos exhibit yet, but I’m excited to go soon to experience.
Battleship Texas is a historic warship that served in both World Wars and is now open to the public for self and guided tours. The ship led to significant advancements in gunnery technology in future battleships, as well as the first museum dedicated to battleships in the United States. It is located at La Porte east of downtown Houston, and offers a variety of tours for people of all ages.
When this ship is opened back to the public, you must visit! Plans to spend the day because there is so much to see and you will have to climb stairs or ladders depending on where you decide to go onboard. There were some areas blocked off but for the most part, we explored a ton of this ship. This ship is an absolute monster that lives up to the dreadnought name and is the only surviving warship to have served in both world wars.

I went right before they're planning to get it dry docked to be repaired. The ship is IMPRESSIVE even with it stripped due to repairs. There were too many people though. The event was pretty highly publicized as "the last weekend to see the ship before repairs" so that makes sense. The staff is highly knowledgeable and I enjoyed reading the plaques and seeing model rooms/set ups. The on deck guns were also pretty cool. This is definitely something for someone who loves history. There was a lot of parking but if you park far enough back, you'll have to do a lot of walking.

The Galleria is a popular shopping mall in Houston, Texas. It has over 400 high end stores and restaurants, an ice-skating rink, a designer punch with businesses like Tiffany & Co., Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, Gianni Versace and Cartier.
This mall shopping experience is fantastic.
It’s a huge, clean, organized mall with just about every store that you could ever want to shop at. Check out their website for listings of what stores they have, the options are seemingly endless. Parking is free in the garages, which is nice, although it gets a bit packed on the weekends. There is a massive ice rink for skating in the middle of the mall and provides a fun atmosphere and great activity for dates, friends, or family. There are plenty of food options in the food court. This mall is a fun place to explore, even if you don’t need or want to purchase anything. There’s a reason it’s a hot spot in Houston and has so many reviews - it’s pretty cool. Check it out!

A world class shopping mall. This place is a gem of the city of Houston and a must visit when looking for iconic landmarks to cross off of your to do or must visit list when in Space City. Wander around all wings and visit each floor each time. The story rewrites itself from every angle of this place. Dynamic store activity is a reason people keep coming back to the galleria. Occasional celebrity sightings are becoming less uncommon when visiting. Check it out during the holidays and they decorate it to reflect the spirit of the most wonderful times of the year

The Galleria is really nice , big , after pandemic this mall is driving , all the merchant stores were open , it was nice to see a mall that was not heavily impacted after Covid SIP. The only thing the mall was repairing was the ice skating ring . In San Francisco downtown is going to be ghost town soon, the mayor merchants are departing due to the homeless and thieving issues .

There is the indoor ice rink in the Mall; the family and friends can enjoy both ice skating and shopping in the same place. It also provides the ice skating class in the early morning.
Two Westin Hotels connected to the Mall building. It’s very convenient to enter the Mall from the hotel any time, if you stayed in one of them.

This mall is huge, probably take a hour or so to all around the place without going into any stores.
There’s a nice map of the mall you can pull up on your phone. It’s also many huge interactive maps throughout the entire mall. Multiple floors and a parking deck that is a little undersized for parking. It was a difficult time finding a parking spot. I’d recommend giving yourself plenty of time and have patience when coming. I would say that it is a bit scary to park here, though... there were several men walking around the cars but I never saw them getting into any of them. I think that they should get a few security guards so that customers know that their cars are secure.
