19th-century mansion featuring guided tours & an adjacent botanical garden with picnic tables.
Very interesting, informative introduction to a self guided tour of the property.
James Lauters — Google review
The house area temporarily closed as stated.
However, my husband and I decided to visit the botanical area on our vacation. The Chapman Botanical Garden area was certainly not worth the time. Tall grass, weeds covering flower beds and benches. Serious lawn & garden maintenance needs to be done. Certainly not a good attraction for those visiting out of town hoping to see beautiful landscape, gardens, and flowers surrounded by nature.
Christie Keortge — Google review
Beautifully restored historic home with a lot of incredible antiques, many of which actually belonged to the Orman family. Loads of interesting documents, original artwork, and the park ranger who provides the tour has a ton of knowledge and is a fantastic and enthusiastic story teller with a talent for relaying the family's history in an entertaining way. Definitely worth a stop in!

we can't say enough what a great tour and experience we had at this location. Ranger Roundtree was just amazing and well educated on this location. If your in the area please do yourself a favor and experience this home for yourself.

The grounds and gardens make for a relaxing walk. The trails are nice. Great place to walk the dog or let the kids burn off some energy. It's quiet and serene.
Angela Julian — Google review
Get Ranger Jeremy Roundtree to give you a tour! Such a beautiful home, with attached gardens and a three-soldier monument. Come see historic items inside this house that has been in the family for over 180 years. Check out the ancient furniture, and the mini replica food in the kitchen. take a minute to enjoy the beautiful floor to ceiling windows in the parlor and the dining room area. Pick up stairs at the attic and see some storage areas. Original outfits from the family are still in this house. It's amazing that this house is still standing through all of the weather and hurricanes in Florida. Give yourself a good hour and a half for the self-guided tour.

Beautiful Park. Enjoyed walking around. House closed to this due to vivid. Would have liked to see inside.
Michelle Barlow — Google review
Exceptional museum with both family items and period items to give you a sense for how folks lived in the house. Highly recommend even the self-guided tour.
Kelly Snow — Google review
Even though Orman House was closed due to Covid 19 virus, we were able to visit the grounds & the botanical gardens. There were several lovely butterfly gardens and some unusual vines and plants. Enjoyable for an hour or so.
Georgina Neave — Google review
Had a great experience touring this piece of history. Our tour guide Ranger Roundtree was an excellent tour guide and we learned a lot. Best part was learning what an old fashioned ice cream scoop was. Would definitely recommend this place of you are interested in history.

I always love going to park in the morning or late afternoon for my walks. I enjoyed it as always. I was a little hesitant to walk all the way into in the park due to the height of grass. I'm aware that with grass at a certain height comes snakes. But I know the keepers of the park are very diligent with the upkeep and it is appreciated, so I know that they will take of it.
1800s home of a cotton-trader, David G. Raney, now housing a museum of local historical artifacts.
What an excellent history of the house and Apalachicola. Janice, a docent, gave me an outstanding tour of the house. She was so fun and knowledgeable and her expertise was appreciated. I went back to put more money in the donation jar. They sell area history books as well as a local calendar.
Hilary Burgess — Google review
I very much enjoyed the tour of the rainy House Museum. Kevin provided a very interesting tour with stories about the family that lived there. I learned some things about the time that I didn’t know. There is only a three- dollar recommended donation to see the house and do the tour and it is well worth it.
Donna Urquhart — Google review
Such a pleasure to see, learn and experience. Thanks for such a delightful informative visit. We recounted all we'd learned over coffee later! Worth a return visit! Wealth of knowledge too much to be taken in one visit. Thanks for such a treat!
John VM — Google review
Stopped in and was met by the most wonderful tour guide, Janice. She gave a great tour as she was super knowledgeable about the Raney House. The house is full of history and a great way to learn more history about the local town.
India Eubanks — Google review
It's small and quaint. Climate controlled and clean. We met the sweetiest lady from the historical society, and she gave us the history of the house and family. Then she literally left us to it and we just took our time looking at all the old stuff. It was great. True testament of southern hospitality and history.
john may — Google review
There's a very rich history with this house that I did not expect. The docent was lovely and very knowledgeable. It was an enjoyable visit that I recommend for anyone with an interest in history.

Great historic home museum with an excellent tour by a volunteer docent.

Great place to learn local history and hang out for a few hours. Janyce was a good host and knowledgeable on the history of the family and house. Tickets are $3.00/person. You can have a guided tour or you can do your own thing and look around.
Carren — Google review
We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours with Janyce as we learned about the local history and the Raney family. Lots of great artifacts from the 19th century. We got a private tour.
It was quite lovely.

Our guide was so knowledgeable and proud of her home and heritage. It was a joy to hear stories of The Raney family and area history,

It's nice to see history and how they did things in 1800. The furniture is beautiful and I would love to have some of the pieces.

Very cool and full of history! Our guide was awesome and knew so much about not only the history of the house, but of the occupants and the town as a whole.
When in Apalachicola, Florida, a visit to Oyster City Brewing Company is a must. Established in 2013 and open to the public since 2014, this brewery has become a beloved fixture of the historic area. It's popular among both locals and visitors who enjoy sampling the finest craft beer that Apalachicola has to offer. The friendly staff and great beer create an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the lazy Sunday afternoon vibe of the city.
A must stop. So many positive things about this place. First, are the people who work there. So friendly and interactive with everyone I saw who stopped by. Second, was the AWESOME beers on tap...so many to choose from. Third, was having conversations with the patrons. Fourth, more great beer. And last, as they were closing and cleaning up, two more couples walked up 10 minutes after they closed but had not locked the doors. Instead of saying we are closed, they invited them in and made sure they had beer and did not rush them. This is how it should be. I commented to the lady what I had observed and told her I had not seen that at any other brewery I have visited. Her comment was, "They drove all this way and will not leave without having one of our beers."
David Hollis — Google review
This brewery is like a tourist trap. There were no places to sit indoor only outside along the sidewalk. Lots of merchandise and 15 taps. This was not the normal brewery where you could sit with friends and enjoy some beer. Had to wait in line to get the beer and then had to wait for people to leave so you could sit and enjoy. The beer itself was good, average of 3.5 of 5 for the 5 beers I had. Been getting their Hooter Brown Ale around the area restaurants.
Paul Davis — Google review
Lively place with great drinks.
Ordering process was very good and I was given samples of some that I was on the fence about.
I would like to know more about what was in some of the brews. Especially since they brew in that room but they will let you taste anything I’m sure.
Definitely recommend stopping by if visiting.
jonathan williams — Google review
So impressed by this little place! I live in the Pacific Northwest and tend to be a hard sell on craft brews, but this place had some amazing offerings! After trying several, I selected the Helles which was full bodied without being too hop forward, and my husband had the red option which he really liked as well. Stop by for a good beer!
Jennifer Cox — Google review
Love love love this place. Probably my favorite brewery in the country, not that I travel to them like that. I've been coming for years, I don't even remember when they first opened. The city itself just has that lazy Sunday afternoon vibe and OCB is the epicenter. Really good beer, friendly staff that's been there since the beginning. Other than popcorn they don't have much in the way of food but walk across the street to the Owl Cafe or around the corner to the Hole in the Wall. All the beers are good, so just pick one drink and repeat. My favorite is mangrove, cause this is the perfect place for a 8% mango IPA. I'm glad to see hound dog is still happy and healthy. So awesome that they adopted her. She was a local stray who was friendly but skittish and would hang around but came and went as the wind blows. Finally one of the workers got close/comfortable enough to get her to a vet and now she's the local Mascot. It's not a huge brewery like the satellite site in Mobile, so seating is somewhat limited. On summer weekends it packs out with visitors and locals taking over the entire corner and half the block. Also if it's the right time of the year, the entire city smells like star(confederate) jasmine. It's straight out of a Hemingway novel.
Malcolm Earhart — Google review
Great location just around the corner from main street Apalachicola. What started as a small local brewery has expanded to multiple grocery stores and cities after winning award after award for its brews. The menu changes fairly regularly. Newcomers should be aware that only certain brews are sold in stores so keep aware of what you should try on site and what you can pick up (canned) on the way home. And if you fond a certain something that you enjoy, splurge and purchase a growler to take with you.
James Pollock — Google review
I really wanted to like this brewery more than I did. I remember their "Hooter Brown" as one of the first good local craft beers to be had when visiting the Florida coast and their Tate's Helles had just won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup earlier in May. Now, I should know to take "medals" won at Beer competitions with the same huge grain of salt I do medals awarded bourbons (and other spirits) but I was hopeful and in anticipation bought a six pack of Tate's Helles at a local liquor store in the area and it royally failed to impress me. Still, a visit to the brewery's tap room was in order and one afternoon during our stay on the coast we stopped by. Underwhelmed is probably an understatement. From the beer tender who obviously has had his fill of "tourists" coming in to sample their beers to the beers themselves, this was an uninspiring experience. The beers aren't bad, but mostly, well, uninspiring. We were impressed with their Tropical Thunder IPA, but the rest we tried (two flights at the brewery along with beers we had eating out) just seemed to be middle of the road examples of their styles. The location is great, though, set in the middle of the "historic" district, but be prepared if you go in the hotter months (we were in early May while the temps and humidity were still quite nice) as seating is outside and no A/C inside and Apalachicola can get incredibly hot and humid in the summer months.
Jonathan Duttweiler — Google review
Great little brewery with a nice friendly atmosphere! We were offered samples of the beers and when the beer tender asked me what my likes were, he poured a sample of what he thought I would like - yep! So had a pint of that and sat outside chatting with people walking by & other customers. He even said we could walk around the town with our beers! I’d go back!
Travel Small Live Big (Heather) — Google review
In a town with only one brewery, residents and tourists (like me) are lucky that it's so good. Fair prices for pints and 6-packs; wide range from sours to IPAs to blondes; cool, revitalized downtown spot. Mostly outdoor seating - not huge, but not too full on a recent visit. Pleasant surprise for a craft beer fan!
Sam Keske — Google review
I have been coming here since they 1st opened open years ago and they have done a really amazing job growing their brand and producing great beer. Great selection for a wide variety of tastes. Located right on the corner downtown Apalachicola with outdoor seating its a great spot to hang out and take in the city. The blood orange ipa was excellent. A must vist place.
Doug Austin — Google review
Great location! Beer is good, the brown was good, red right return was ok, IPAs were a bit disappointing. Atmosphere was great! Live music October fest kick off.
Cindy Head — Google review
You are in Apalachicola. You like/love/open to craft beer. Then Oyster Brewing Company is the place to be. Have a dog? Bring them! Need a place to rest after shopping? Yes, come and get you a beer! Love IPA? Love Lagers? Stout is your middle name? Brown, Amber, sour? It's all here. Come get you some! The best, in my opinion, are the Hooter Brown and the Dirty Blonde which are always on the menu. That being said, I'm adventurous, so I'm always good for a flight. Oh, and get you a Tshirt, silicone pint glass, and a collar for the pup. Can't get there? Want to take some home? Visit the Publix or Total Wine in Florida. They are likely to have some.
The Apalachicola Maritime Museum is a charming nautical museum that provides extensive information about the local maritime industry. Its main attraction, the meticulously maintained 58-foot wooden sailboat named HERITAGE, designed by Herreshoff, is truly captivating and alone worth the price of admission. This privately funded establishment not only offers educational classes but also organizes enjoyable cruises. Recently, they have successfully restored the Debbie Reynold Steamboat, which will soon join their fleet of cruise ships.
Please visit and contribute.
This place is privately funded and is doing much good work on n our area of the PanHandle. It also offers classes and cruises. Recently it restored Debbie Reynold Steamboat which will be joining it's cruise fleet.

We visited 2 years ago so I don't know if this place survived the hurricane or not. Hopefully it did. It was a very nicely done museum and well worth a visit. I can only hope it's still there
Ken Bebak — Google review
A nice little nautical museum with a lot of information about the local maritime industry. The highlight of the museum is their beautifully maintained 58 foot wooden sailboat HERITAGE. A tour of this Herreshoff designed ketch is worth the price of admission alone.
Darwin Hall — Google review
A nice little museum to float your nautical spirit. An Eco-tour upriver was fun and informative. They even have a small gift shop with some cool stuff, not the usual junk.
Kyle Kennedy — Google review
If you are in Apalachicola you have got to visit this museum. Very well done and gives you a good understanding of why and how the town came to be. Well worth the time.

This is a cool place to visit when in Apalachicola. There is some history to be learned here. They also offer excursions and a few other maritime activities

A must-stop shop on your trip through Wewa, we're visiting family and wanted to get some tupelo before heading back to Ga, we read in a prior review that Smiley Honey has honey sampling, and they did indeed & it was phenomenal. The staff was kind, the honey was more than delicious and the down-home atmosphere makes me want to come back again. I bought 16oz blackberry honey & 32oz tupelo, honey, & they gave my four-year-old a sample size of orange blossom honey all without breaking the bank. We could not have asked for a better way to wrap up our visit!

As a native Floridian I wanted a company that sourced local honey. I’ve ordered from here numerous times and I have loved every variety! I just recently tried the sourwood honey and I’m definitely going to keep that in my rotation. Anyone looking for amazing local honey this is your place! Shipping is super quick as well so that’s an added bonus.
Anthony E — Google review
Ordered the Tupelo Honey 2 pound container last evening on September 8th and received it early afternoon in Birch Bay, Washington on September 12th and very well packaged. And as usual...it tastes incredible. Best honey on the planet and my neighbors all love it...so guess what they are all getting for Christmas! The price btw with shipping was $30.75..so nearly the same per ounce vs local honey up here in the PNW.
Gerald Patterson — Google review
Love this place! I've been purchasing honey from these guys since their website was a LOT more basic. Lol!! With the exception of this post-holiday season, I've always been able to stock up. Quality is always top-notch, selection is usually plentiful and varied, and pricing is reasonable. Over the years, I've turned numerous friends onto these guys. I hope they're around for years to come.
Robert Vucsko — Google review
My wife and I are full time RVr's traveling the country, blog link in bio. We came upon Smile Honey after seeing a roadside stand where Tupelo honey was being sold. Unfortunately the seller tried to hoodwink us into selling us honey he claimed was Tupelo, but it wasn't. An internet search brought me to Smile Honey.
Talk about a friendly business. We tried some samples before buying 8# of Tupelo honey. Fantastic customer service. We have since learned that after my wife wrote about our purchase here that some of our followers have mail ordered from Smile Honey, and they are loving it and other varieties also available. A great way to keep your cupboard stocked. Delicious!

What a great small business! Great products, great customer service and super quick shipping!
I ordered a gift for my friend online. Placed order and immediately got an email confirmation of order. The next day another email arrived stating package had shipped. Two days later, the gift was delivered.
This is exactly how small businesses should run! Great job, Smiley Honey!

They have the largest selection of Honey!!! They let you taste the honey before you purchase.
RICHARD MILLER — Google review
This a wonderful quality of honey. My whole family loved it. Little pricey but I will definitely have a new order when we finish the jars. Great great taste.
I also love the balms and hand lotion. Wonderful product! I strongly will recommend it to my friends and people who are looking for real honey.
Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park is a picturesque waterfront location that offers various recreational activities, such as birdwatching and camping. The park boasts nine miles of stunning beaches and sand dunes, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience Old Florida at its finest. There are boardwalks throughout the park leading to shell-covered beaches with shallow waters suitable for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing for flounder and whiting. A 2.
Absolutely lovely stay in the camp ground at St George State Park. The sites have privacy and close to the beach. Nature trails and no frills unspoiled land is relaxing and beautiful. The cell service was at one bar for ATT. Mid-April, no see-ums (little biting bugs) were prevalent. It was a bit windy and chilly outside as well. A gorgeous trip overall!
Annie Rocks — Google review
We are staying in Port St Joe, which is lovely and natural. But, being on the bay, the water is murkier and has quite a bit of seaweed. So, we were in search of more beautiful, Gulflike water. This place is paradise and totally worth the hour drive! The state park has a few beach areas. This one is two miles from the entrance and gave us access to these gorgeous, clear, emerald and teal waters, soft sand, and amazing views! (No filters so you can see the actual colors) We could see dolphins in the distance! Seagulls do abound, but as long as you don’t feed them, they will scatter away. we were there 3 to 4 hours and the highest number of people at the beach at any point was 28 looking both directions as far as my eyes could see. There were a couple outdoor showers and large restroom facilities right on the beach. The state park is completely natural, so no buildings except for park facilities. The natural drive through the park is surrounded by sand dunes. Six bucks a carload is nothing for this beautiful haven!
sapphireprincess78 — Google review
One of my favorite beaches in the panhandle! We paid to go to the more private side of the island because the public area by the lighthouse was insanely busy. There were so many seashells and birds. Although it was super windy we couldn’t swim or put our beach towels down, it was still very fun to walk and enjoy the beach. Can’t wait to come again, and hopefully camp!
Regan Benites — Google review
Clean but ran out of toilet paper late day
Well preserved, beautiful land!
We had a polite heron patiently awaiting a treat while we fished.. unfortunately we went catching much so he was the only one who got to eat fresh fish that day
Davina Taylor — Google review
This was outstanding experience!!! Very cool that you pay to get in ($6 for 2-8 people in vehicle) but that is good for entire day - you can leave, then come back with your ticket/receipt till closing time. Excellent bathroom and outdoor showers, and very nice picnic pavilion areas. Then the access points that are away from those areas are perfect also. Very uncrowded when we were there.
The only thing I would say that could be improved is the information about the accessibility options. Wonderful that there are some beach accesses with mobi-mats to at least the first dune break... That is great! But a little harder to find info on the beach wheelchairs, floating wheelchairs etc, that are available...
Camping sites were beautiful (did not visit the'primitive' sites). It was all so clean and well used but so uncrowded.
A fabulous experience!

I never knew before photography how wonderful it is to take shots of nature and enjoy the birds. To test out my new telephoto lens, I took it with us to our Thanksgiving beach trip. We sat in the chairs and I took pictures of all the wonderful birds that came to visit us! It was great fun!

Second time staying at this park and another relaxing camping trip. Sites are nice with some privacy to them.
Lots of fishermen, but we enjoy the trail and chilling out. A little to windy this time to set out on the beach but we enjoyed riding out bikes around and enjoying the nature.
Highlight was that twice a Great Horned Owl perched in a tall pine just at the edge of our campsite. First we had seen in the wild and it was a treat.
Gary Thompson — Google review
A small fee to enter the park which has several areas to park, hiking trails, and Restrooms. We were able to find some beach areas to enjoy solitude. Dogs are not allowed beaches, so please be mindful of this. While staying on SGI, we spent several days in the park hiking and beaching.
Donna Childers — Google review
Definitely a place I wish I could've spent more time exploring. I only had a few hours, so mostly just walked some of the beaches - which I had to myself since it was a day that was threatening rain.
The ocean was wild and woolly, the shells were beautiful, and wish I could've stayed longer.
There's a hike at the end of the road to the tip of the island - I'll save that for next time. I did check out the campground for when I come back. The spaces are neither large nor private, for the most part, but it would be so worth it to me to be able to walk down to a beach or drive the short way to just sit in the sand all day and listen to the ocean.
Lots of facilities: picnic areas, flush restrooms, showers for the beach goers. Campground had the same. It was just a great place.
Leslie Smith — Google review
This is a clean, alcohol free, family friendly state park with beautiful beaches. Drive in a ways and you'll find nice restrooms and "foot-sand" showers. There is a camping area as well.
Clinton Alexander — Google review
We spent a week there in the middle of January at the campground. So beautiful! The whole island is awesome and we hiked most of the trails. We found the showers and restrooms to be clean and private. Why campgrounds don't provide more hooks for towels and clothing is a mystery, but it's not only state parks that are lacking in this area. We will definitely go back here again.
JTwny (John&Terry) — Google review
I’m hesitant to share because I don’t want to share lol but great place to visit. Spend several weekends here and spent an entire week as a local “tourist”. Great place to visit, beware the biting flies on the trails though
Nicole Lowery — Google review
I had the pleasure of spending a few nights here at the CG. Wonderful park with amazing beaches and great pavilions to stay out of the sun. We strung up a hammock in the pavilion and put a chair on the picnic table. With the sea breeze and shade it was awesome.
While on the surface the CG appears solidly booked they seem to have some spots which isn't on the reservation site and you might be able to grab a first come first served spot. Call before you head over the bridge. Ask if the ada sites are available.
While the walk from the CG isn't far having a bike makes it a lot nicer.

This island is on the Florida panhandle, it's quite secluded and sparsely populated which makes it even more better destination if you are trying to get away from crowded beaches. Beach here is as good as it gets in the panhandle.

Amazing long beach with great amenities, huge parking lots, and only a few families.
Beautiful landscape and trails.

Wonder historic turpentine slash pines at camo ground trail. Signs tell and shows photos. Blooming yellow woody goldenrod, groudsel...Florida snow, tiny Darrows blueberry, yellow camphirweed looking like dandelion, light blue false rosemary. Pine like stems of Florida rosemary..not edible. Red chokeberries. ..AND fun beech walk. Horseshoe crabs. Starfish. Shells. Blue heron.
Joseph Barnett — Google review
Beautiful beach. Well maintained park. There are several spots to pullover and park for three to five cars if you want less human traffic. There are also a couple of pavilions with restrooms and lots of parking for those who don’t mind the crowds. You can take your pick but the park can fill up quick.

A beautiful island state park. Untouched. Like walking back in time. We did the nature walk. It was an easy 4 mile hike out & back to the parking lot. It ended at the campground and we walked that loop too. Lots of birds to see and natural island dunes and wetlands. The trail was well marked with cool storyboards. It’s dog friendly too.

Lucky to get a spur of the moment campsite in February. Site 9 is pretty nice. Large area that we are tenting on. Only drawback is restroom lights across the road.

I shouldn't say this and keep it to myself but this place is pretty great. Nice camping and RV spots. Hookups but only on central dump station. $40 per site per night.

1900 E Gulf Beach Dr, St George Island, FL 32328, USA
Unique 103-ft. lighthouse tower built in 1895, with a museum & gift shop, in scenic surrounds.
The museum is free but there is a cost to climb the lighthouse. Nice museum that doesn't take too long to explore. Nice grounds with an area for kids. They have special events on a regular basis. We did the full moon tour. There was good live music, a fireplace and of course you could climb the lighthouse. I went in at moonrise and think that if I did it again I would go later when it was a bit darker.

If you like tucked away coastal history. Visit this place. Intriguing small museum with the down home feel. The lighthouse was fun. 5.00 to go up it. Stairwell was steep (which was expected). But the view of the ocean from the top was blissfully breathtaking. Well worth it if you happen to be in that area.

Crooked River Lighthouse is one of two remaining lighthouses in Franklin County, FL. It has a 4th order Fresnel lens that still shines nightly. A replica of the lighthouse keeper's house serves as a museum and gift shop. There's also a small playground, picnic area and you can find the trail head of the Carabelle Beach bike trail here. You can climb the 128 steep steps to the top for a stunning view of the coast and surrounding forest. Tower climbs are $5 per person, and are usually available Wednesday through Saturday. If you enjoy lighthouses, this is well worth a look!
Chris Baker — Google review
Neat lighthouse that you can climb. This one is pretty narrow inside. If it's hot outside you're going to be hot inside except for the few windows it has. View from the top is pretty nice. Keeper's house little museum is interesting with some nice artifacts. Small little gift shop where you can get a momento.
Steve Rucci — Google review
Nice views on a clear day. The hike up the light house is challenging for very young kids. The main building give you some history on light houses.
Gary Jennings — Google review
Nice old lighthouse with great views from the top. The lighthouse keepers house is the museum and gift shop. It has the original lens in the museum. It’s free but $5 to climb the lighthouse. Worth the donation.
RV Traveler — Google review
Very beautiful lighthouse with great views at the top. Climbing up is pretty tough (it got HOT) but going down is rough and you have to go backwards at the top of the spiral staircase. If you have small climbers be careful of the narrow stairs. Otherwise, I highly recommend! The gift shop/museum was nice as well!
Danielle Walker — Google review
Great little lighthouse. There is a gift shop and a small museum. We attended the full moon night climb. A unique experience!

Small cute light house. Lady attending was super sweet.
Just beware Lighthouse is very narrow not intended for everyone to go in.
Wandy G. — Google review
Beautiful old lighthouse. Lots of history. The lady who helped us was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about the history of the area. There's even a security rooster on site. Don't miss it. No entry fee but I think it's $5 to climb to the top.
Dan Hearn — Google review
One of my best lighthouse experiences, and I have been to several! Not only are you able to climb it and take in some breathtaking views, but you can also enjoy a very nice little museum that provides a detailed history of the light itself. The museum even has a rotating display of the original fresnel lens that was in the lantern room. It is of a unique design being a bivalve type of lens.
John Reilly — Google review
An easy stop an interesting history provided by the current lighthouse keeper. Weekends seem to have the events, like a full moon night, and bonfires. Pet friendly. No poop bags available. You can walk to the top for a small fee.
Ann Tee — Google review
This is a beautiful lighthouse. I love the structure and can't believe how narrow the staircase must be to get to the top. Imagine trying to carry buckets of fuel to the top. It's surprising that a lighthouse keeper didn't invent the elevator. Anyway, I was disappointed at how unkept the grounds of the lighthouse look. It was a bit of an eyesore and brought down the value of the lighthouse in my eyes. The keeper's house wasn't open when I visited so I could check out more history on the lighthouse.

This is the first lighthouse like this I have seen. My husband and friends climbed it and said it got smaller at the top but the view was worth it.There is a replica of the original light keepers house. They have a lot of interesting things about the build and how the light keeper lived. You can also watch a 17 minute video. If you are thru the area stop in.
This museum is a wonderful place for WWII history buffs. This was our third visit. They have a traveling exhibit that changes every couple of months, this visit it was the Doolittle Raiders. I enjoy the personal letters and narratives of the veterans that served from this area.

I don't have the knowledge to understand much history, And never really had the mindset to pay attention to any of it.
Deciding to tag along we took the opportunity while down in the area to go check this place out. It was free entry for anyone with the acceptance of donations. While the outside looked nothing to be impressed with that completely changes when you enter the building. The entire shed was packed full of displayed items from World War II along with "read-it-yourself" details on literally everything about the war. All it was vary informative. The area also had 2 different documentaries playing on separate tvs.
I enjoyed looking at all the old items from the past -I honestly didn't read to much of the info as it was way to much reading for my mind to comprehend. 🤭😉
I had gotten a Challenge Coin & Dog Tag to remember my visit.
Diffintly worth the checking out if you're in the area with some free time to spare.

This is an excellent small museum. Very important because of the training here for D-Day. Lots of artifacts. Nice movie to watch. All free. We did donate. Worth a visit. Should take 1-2 hours to see it all.

It's all about expectations but this is a great little museum we came across while visiting the area. Was really informative about how the entire area was used during WW2 as an amphibious training ground for the US Army. Free and they accept donations so plan on donating to help keep a place like this going. A great little gem. Highly recommend...

A great place to learn about military history along Florida's Forgotten Coast. Had a great time walking through the building looking at all of the exhibits. And the little theater they have inside shows a great documentary of the history around the Florida panhandle.

This museum is well worth your time. There are many items to view and learn how Carrabelle Beach and Dog Island played an important role in the successful training of our soldiers. One of my favorite things were all the letters written to family members at home. I can't begin to imagine the feelings these brave Americans had going on. Bless our troops. Past, present, and future!

Great little museum with a ton of actual equipment from WW1&2. Some stuff from more recent wars also, but the main focus is WWII. They trained soldiers at the beach here to prepare them for D Day invasions. A great tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedoms.

A beautiful and humbling experience. Superbly well done. Gorgeous displays and artifacts from WWII, two great videos depicting the camp and training undergone by soldiers to ready them for Europe invasions. Very well done and all free. Donation box at the door so please donate generously.

This museum is well worth the visit. For a small museum in a small town, they have done an excellent job of collecting and displaying military items representing the area’s contribution to the war.
Richard Piepgras — Google review
Outstanding little museum just outside of Carrabelle. This shows the history of the huge Army training post, which at one time, occupied this area. They show photographs, letters, uniforms, etc. They have just moved to this new building and are still moving in the displays, with a lot more to come. Vehicles, and other larger items are coming to another building as it is completed.
This is an excellent museum of what was a big part of this area.

Absolutely loved it, was very emotional to go through and to think what the men and women who serve went through. Alot of history

I'll never travel to Tallahassee without this trip planner again
They said it was small, they were not kidding. If you are in the area, it's worth it just to pop by and look. Maybe it's the second most famous phone booth next to the Tardis.

This is definitely the size of a telephone booth. There was a nice man sitting outside that got us a pamphlet. This is on the side of the road and free to look at, you can go in and take a picture inside the booth. And there's a bench right outside of it. You can park on the corner on the other side of the street.

Fun stop along the coastal route in this Florida panhandle town. I’ve been coming here here for 50 years and it still has that fishing village old Florida charm.
The Police station in a phone booth and the story behind it is a good one!

It's just an old phone booth, but it does have an interesting story. We visited in mid November and Not much was going on, we took some photos and then went around the corner to a little diner and had an old fashioned malt.
This national forest offers swimming in spring-fed lakes, picnic facilities, hiking & canoeing.
Definitely a 5 star adventure everytime. Established in 1936, the Apalachicola is the largest national forest in Florida, covering about 574,000 acres. There is so much to see and do. Highly recommend taking the time to speak with some locals ask them a few questions before you adventure unprepared. Local businesses have great advice and you can support the communities by shopping with them. Get a map and always take extra flashlight batteries if you are adventuring at night. Really good advice would be to contact Florida wildlife commission and not go during hunting season. The hunters appreciate the quite and please don't litter or let your campfire get out of control. Preserve this forest for future generations please.

Apalachicola National Forest, is a wildlife management area encompasses over 582,000 acres in Franklin, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla county. There's so much to do. Rivers, creeks, ponds to enjoy fishing, boating or canoe/ kayak . Filled with an assortment of
wildlife, trees, plants it's a great place to ride or walk and enjoy nature. Always be conscientious of your environment example don't step on snakes or gators they'll pretty much leave you alone otherwise. If you plan on exploring deeper in the forest check out a map and get a compass heading or tell someone where about you will be. Please don't litter in the forest.

Hiked Florida Trail across the Apalachicola National Forest. Trail was amazing, and we saw many beautiful sites, especially along the Sopchoppy River. It was awesome to see all the old growth trees hiking through Bradwell Bay Wilderness, but it was somewhat difficult trudging through the swamp.
Only complaint was lots of hunters, who were all nice, but their barking dogs were very annoying. Didn't see a lot of wildlife... probably due to the same complaint.

My wife and I booked two trips with Captain Tom. We did a sunset cruise and a day sail a few days later. He goes above and beyond to make the experience very enjoyable. He has a fantastic ship and is very knowledgeable about the area including the best place to see dolphins! We were lucky to see a few during our 4 hour cruise. On the sunset cruise we could not have enjoyed it more with a blood red full moon as the bonus at the end. I would recommend anyone who wants the best charter in the area, you should pick Captain Tom!

Capt Tom is amazing! The wife and I went out on a morning fishing trip and the man put us on the sea trout and numerous other species. If you wanna come back with fish and tired from catching so many book a trip. Hospitality and knowledge combined is what you’ll receive! We will definitely book on our next trip to Alligator Point.

Captain Tom and his boat are amazing. He is accommodating and so personable. We throughly enjoyed our 2 hour sailing trip. I will book again when we are visiting the area. We saw dolphins, pelicans and all sorts of wildlife. Thank you Captain Tom!

We were a group of four, set out on the sunset Cruise. Captain Tom was fun and informative. We motor out of the marina and channel. Then Capt Tom hoist the sail for a quiet sail towards sunset. The dolphins sighting and bow riding with us was added treats. We were lucky to have two for one that eve. For there was 98% full moon behind us and sunset in front of us. We recommend Capt. Tom and Alegro sailing when you are in the area. Thank you Capt. Tom.

A must do experience for anyone visiting Alligator Point! I loved seeing the dolphins so close to the boat and cheering for them to come over. Captain Tom went above and beyond to make it a fun time for our family. He is truly an amazing guy who will ensure your time is memorable. The waves were amazingly smooth, but can get a bit bumpy for those who are sensitive (dizzy for a second, but no sea sickness though!). I also recommend using the bean bag, as it was my favorite spot. Absolutely worth booking!!!

Captain Tom was so kind and so much fun! An amazing experience from start to finish - highly recommend booking a trip. Captain Tom even took the time to teach us about sailing and worked hard to have us see some dolphins up close. If you’re thinking about booking - do it! Such a phenomenal guy and a great experience.

Captain Tom was amazing and made our family feel comfortable and have a wonderful time ! We went on the sunset cruise while on our vacation and got to see lots of dolphins and he even showed us how the tree line on alligator point resembles an alligator. All 4 of our kids had the time of their life, not to mention the complimentary snacks on board the boat that saved the day ! We will definitely be sailing with Captain Tom again and 10/10 recommend that if you're thinking about it definitely do it !
Pretty park. However, we didn't feel the campground was the best choice for our RV. We have a 38' class A unit and while the trees were beautiful, it seemed that the trees would be too low for our RV to fit safely. Recommend taking a look in person if possible before booking. These pics are ones I took while looking around.

Beautiful and tranquil little park in a part of the real Florida. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed camping here with our dog! Very dog friendly, saw lots of people with their pups. The campsite we stayed at was wonderful and very private and it had direct access to one of the trails which we loved!! The nature there is so gorgeous and the water was so calming and beautiful, especially at sunset!! We even saw a few white squirrels!!!!!! No white deer though! The only tiny little gripe that we had was that they only had one kayak ( people keep stealing them!! ) that my mom went in and that one had a hole in it and it started to sink while she was kayaking!! I guess they’ve had problems with people stealing kayaks so that’s why they only had one.

Our second time staying here. Small campground of only 30 sites—Big rigs to tents accommodated. Campgrounds backs up to the Ochlockonee River and offers dump, water & electric, hot showers, clothes line, fire ring, & table. Very clean & well maintained bathhouse, but no heat. Boat ramp, playground & picnic shelter also provided. Sites flat, but some are tight to maneuver. The trail along river and around park are the only trails. 4G Verizon good. Oh, yes, warning that the squirrels are pesky—destroyed some of my Valentine roses and well as chewing on plastic containers—couldn’t leave anything unattended even while we ate each evening.

Nice and peaceful! Loved seeing a white deer.
We were visiting friends that were camping.
I loved that there were lots of trees, but thought the campsites are too close together.

I enjoyed the stay here. There was wildlife everywhere! We were hunting just down the road at Tate's hell so this was really convenient for us. Bathrooms were nice and clean, big shower stalls with hot hot hot water. We saw an albino squirrel, fox squirrels, and regular old grey squirrels. We started in site #20 and it was right close to the river, very awesome to have coffee and watch the sun rise.

Beautiful, peaceful park. Plenty of hot water in the showers. Close enough to put kayak in river from several sites or use the nice boat launch area which has a kayak launch. Enjoyed seeing white squirrels and "Sugar", the white deer. Lots of small birds. A nice walking trail along the river and scenic drive which we biked. Bring what you need, not much in the way of stores nearby.

We tent camped at one of the tent/RV spots and really enjoyed it. Sites are nice and level and a good size with lots of trees. Restrooms are big enough for the # of sites that we never waited for a shower or toilet, and they keep them nicely clean.

Great small campground with super clean and nice facilities, big campsites, and nice park staff. The location on the river is very pretty. Walking along the river is super nice. The day use area is also awesome.

Nice quiet campsite. Enjoyed our stay. Facilities and roads could be updated. As I looked over the surrounding landscape, the thought struck me that 10,000 years ago some animal would have been looking at me, saying, "Is it tasty precious? Is it crunchy?" Could use some marketing input on how to best promote their swimming area.

This is a great park for a variety of interests! This park offers a boat ramp, canoe and bike rentals, camping, fishing, hiking and is terrific for birdwatching. The mature pine habitat is especially good for woodpeckers, including the endangered Red-cockaded Woodpecker. The nature drive is a nice way for the whole family to enjoy the wildlife. It occasionally closes during rainy times but is still available for hiking.

This is another charming state park. Nice and small. Very quiet, very dark at night. Good for star gazing when it isn't cloudy! Very helpful staff. As an older park, the road into the campground is a bit narrow for larger rigs as well as for manuevering into sites, but we managed with our 36' fifth wheel. They had previously had a lot of rain so the ground was saturated and we received more rain. Therefore, there were puddles all around. We were able to change sites to one on a bit higher ground than our reservation, and we were very grateful, as that put us on a concrete pad rather than on the muddy ground. Nice trails and area along the river. Interesting white squirrels running around the campground! The scenic drive has trees marked where there is red-cockcated woodpecker activity and we did hear and see them. Also saw the leucistic deer, known as "Sugar," between the boat launch and campground area. She has a normal head and white body.

If you've never seen a WHITE(ish) squirrel then Ochlockonee is a place you'll want to visit.
The park is clean and very well maintained, and the staff were friendly an attentive. The camping experience was calm and peaceful with plenty to see within a short walking distance of the site. There is only one camping site with hammock posts, but most of the sites would accommodate a hammock tent using some tree friendly straps.

This park is an awesome place to camp, hike, fish, bike, take photographs, or do any kind of outdoor activity, and be near nature. It is dog friendly even on the hiking trails. Over 4,000 acres of coastal state park with beaches, woods & marshes plus migratory bald eagles.
Beautiful, clean beach. I swam pretty far out and was still in waist deep water. Great place for kids, low waves and not crowded. Feels like "old" Florida. Untouched beauty.
McKenna Keenan — Google review
There really isn't enough parking or ample facilities here, but, that is also part of the charm and draw to the place. Difficult for it to get crowded without anole parking. Decent beach. No surf. Lots of sun and fairly unspoiled dunes and ecosystem. If you want a more private beach type feel, this is your spot. Get there early to lock in a nice parking spot.

Nice quiet place to hike. Seabirds and fish were out. Disappointed to find an unmarked bridge out halfway through our hike.
Cara Chalupsky — Google review
Beautiful place for a peaceful walk/wade, went in early March 2022. Porta-Potties were clean. The beach was clean and quiet, if very thin from dune to water at some points. Biting gnats were out, full-force, anywhere that wasn't the beach.
This State Park is located on an inlet, so the water is murky with lots of wildlife, wouldn't recommend if swimming is your goal. If that's the case, I'd recommend driving down to the Alligator Point Public Beach where the water has less river contents in it.
Robert Zimmerman — Google review
This is a great beach to have nice waves and some privacy. Great for a picnic but bring all your own gear and stuff. Closest commercial is 10 miles away. You can walk up and down this beach for a few miles. Lots of crabs.

This park is rich in diversity of wildlife and, environment. One second you're on the beach, the next you're in the woods, turn your head again and look over Marshlands from and observation deck. If you're there for low tide there's a number of areas that reveal sandbars you can walk out on and explore. The view is spectacular pretty much anywhere you find yourself. Definitely bring binoculars, sunscreen and, spray for yellow flies!

We may have come at the worst time to visit this beach. It smelled awful. The water was brown and didn’t look like any other place we had visited along the gulf coast. We had to have come when the sea pork was really bad here. We weren’t familiar with this animal before and initially thought they were jellyfish or that something was eaten (whale) and the fat was washing up on the shore. It stunk because the animals were washing up and dying on the beach. We stayed for all of two minutes and went back to the car. I may stop again sometime to see if it was just a case of bad timing, but it was truly nasty. Sea pork picture is below. Imagine hundreds of these gelatinous blobs all over the beach and the water… you’ll understand what we saw then.

We followed google maps and reached a point where the entrance was blocked. We drove around for a while and found another entrance (not mentioned in Google maps) which was close to a beach access point. The shade was nice. Only half of the showerheads were spraying water. The restrooms were mobile units but they were ok. The beach was quiet with only a few people in it. The water looked muddy and not quite swimmable. We found a lot of mole crabs/sand crabs. Overall the park/access point needs better maintenance and guidance.

This was one of the most beautiful parks that I have ever been too. I have to say that this is one of my favorite places on earth.
It's so quiet to walk along the white sandy beaches with the warm Gulf breezes blowing. Life can be so cruel to give you glimpses of a different lifestyle that is not always obtainable.
This walk can be so sad, yet so serene, so beautiful. I walked for about an hour, dipping my toes and collecting shells for my grand kids for beachy crafts. I can't wait to go again, but can't help looking out wondering if this is my last glimpse of true beauty? Goodness, I hope not!!!

Had an awesome time today here at Gulf Specimen Lab! Was shocked by how much there was to look at here, and my expectations were blown away. If you’re local to the surrounding areas, I recommend getting a members pass because they hold events here, and different activities for the Family to enjoy! Me and my grandmother had such a fun time learning about all the different little critters that live right next-door to us in our lovely ocean❤️ along with all the fun activities, we learned that this is a rehabilitation center. Most of these animals are unable to return to the wild due to health problems, and this staff does an amazing job at making sure All their needs are met! I love the “kill two birds with one stone” idea, Rehabilitating these lovely animals while also teaching the public about ocean life!!! If you Happen to be in the area, it is well worth the drive to check this place out!!!!

Awesome little aquarium! Kids had a blast and us adults had a lot of fun too! There's many touch tanks so we were able to hold a lot of different species of animals. Decent priced to get in and different photo opportunities outside with the fake gators, turtle, crab and sharks. I suggest anyone who visits reads their mission statement and "about us" on their website. This will give an idea of how the aquarium got started and some background on the people who own it. Makes the experience a little more special I think. Would def recommend!

Our family really enjoyed this aquarium. We learned a lot, the staff was extremely helpful. I would love to see the animals in more enriching/larger tanks someday, I know that’s a big expense. My son and I went here and had a good day. Touch tanks were a hit. Lots of cool things to pick up and look at. Not a crazy amount of things to see but worth a stop in.

Enclosures are way too small for the sharks and big rays. One ray was causing the other to bleed during the feeding as it was frenzied. Many tanks were dirty and had no habitat to them, just concrete.
If you don't have the funds or staff to do something properly, relocate the animals. Research and education should not come at the expense of animal care and treatment.
The other tanks for smaller fish and animals were spaced well. The ray feeding attendant was great at her speech and friendly, as were other staff. Good gift shop and good information around the facility about the importance of preservation.

I stumbled on this place by accident and so glad I did!
It is within walking distance of the RV park we are staying in. It is non profit, so you will not see all the high tech here. However, it has many pools for viewing different species of sealife. They also have several pool allowing you to handle different species. I discovered many of their sea animals are sent to zoos, wildlife parks and universities for aquatic studies.
This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and learn about sealife in the Gulf.

The St. Mark's Lighthouse is a beautifully restored 1800s landmark situated within a wildlife refuge featuring trails and wetlands inhabited by alligators. The surrounding area boasts stunning views of the ocean, marsh, and islands teeming with Fiddler and Hermit crabs as well as numerous bird species. The lighthouse itself has an impressive historical heritage but cannot be entered at present.
Absolutely one of my most favorite places on Earth! I make it to the refuge once or if I’m really lucky a couple times a year. St Marks Lighthouse is rich in history and it’s downright beautiful, along with the surrounding area. I get here early when there is nobody, walk around the lighthouse, snap a few pictures, walk the long beach to the east of the light, and just reflect, breathe, and soak in the peace.
A few tips… If you want to avoid bug bites and a ton of people, if you are a solitary person like me, come early in the morning on a weekday. Don’t get me wrong I am glad that a lot of people come and support the refuge. That’s VERY important. But a bunch of loud kids, parents, and photographers annoyed that I’m in their way are not ideal for someone like me. You may be different. Overall though this place is perfect. Old Florida at its best! Everyone should come and enjoy the beauty of St. Marks!

Beautiful national wildlife refuge! Nice visitor center with helpful employees that are excited about the area. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. It cost $5 to enter and was totally worth it! The lighthouse was closed today, but it is open occasionally. I highly recommend visiting. Make sure you take time to explore. There are many trails throughout the area and you could spend an entire day here. There was also a very nice picnic area overlooking one of the ponds if you want to pack a lunch and spend the day!

St. Marks Lighthouse is the second-oldest light station in Florida. While visitors are not allowed to climb the stairs (for safety reasons), the inside has been beautifully restored. Tour guides tell you about the history of the lighthouse, including stories of those who were the keepers of the light. The refuge is great for bird watching as well.

Nice little beach. Pretty views of the marsh, ocean and surrounding islands with lots of birds and Fiddler and Hermit crabs. The lighthouse is pretty but we weren't able to go inside. If you come out around early/mid May make sure to bring plenty of bugs spray because of the love bugs flying all around. But definitely a great spot to visit.

Loved visiting St. Mark's. The lighthouse is gorgeous with having access to the beach to swim, fish, crab, or just relax and get some sun. Was quite a bit of traffic when we went, but I'd say that's bc of the 4th of July holiday. Bathrooms, benches, and a covered staircase overlooking the water at the actual light house with other seating areas and views galore. Would definitely recommend visiting and packing a picnic lunch. 2nd oldest lighthouse in Florida!
Very cool history with the Confederate and Union armies.
Beautiful lighthouse and living quarters that you can walk through and get the history of the lighthouse.
Free admission to the lighthouse, although there is a $5 vehicle registration fee at the entry to the state park.
There are many trails in this park that are really nice to hike.
We really liked cedar point trail!
Watch out for alligators! 🐊.

Saturday was the first time I've visited this Lighthouse and St. Marks Refuge. Beautiful historical Lighthouse, love the pure unspoiled natural environment. No high rise hotels, or Condos. Just people who love the area for what it is. So many birds and wildlife. Highly recommend to make the drive and visit.

Got into the refuge for "free" with our America the Beautiful pass. Headed here after stopping in at the visitor center as parking near the lighthouse is limited and will fill up. We visited during the monarch migration, so it was new to see multiple butterflies resting on the foliage along Levee Trail. Also spotted multiple shorebird, waterfowl, small raptors, crabs, and the resident flamingo! The protected wetlands in this area are a true gem and well worth the visit. Would recommend and plan to visit next time I'm in the area.

This is the place to be if you love lighthouses, birds, and a nice walk. We were there in January and it was very quiet. Behind the Lighthouse is a small beach where you can walk along the water. In front of the lighthouse is a small observation deck, which is ideal for taking a picture. The entry to the park was $5, and we stayed there for an hour on our way from Tallahassee to Panama City Beach.

This is a nice place. It's about a 30-minute ride from Tallahassee. Nice place to fish and picnic tables. The lighthouse is open through the week. Awesome place for field trips.
Luciana Brown — Google review
We went out to see the sunset which was beautiful. There's not much to see and nothing really telling you about the lighthouse anywhere. It would have been nice to learn about its history while there. The beach is too soggy and and the bugs, crabs, and other wildlife too overwhelming to really walk around. Yes I know it's a wildlife preserve, which is great, we love going hiking, camping, and enjoying the great outdoor, but this just wasn't a great stop for our family.

If you need a beautiful and relaxing place to walk your dog while on a road trip, stop at St Mark’s lighthouse. It is 11 miles off the road but worth the trip! A bird watching location with lots of trails. Dogs allowed on trails with a leash.
Kristina Binard Carlson — Google review
If you’re a birder, this spot has to be on your list if you visit the area! Even if you’re not a birder, this spot should be on your list. Phenomenal location for waterfowl especially. The lighthouse is beautiful! Lots of hiking trails and unpaved biking trails. The road is narrow so not great for biking on the main road. In the warmer months, this is “the” location to see massive alligators — and you can almost always spot one from the road without getting out of the car.

This place is beautiful, amazing, stunning... the refuge is pretty secluded so the trails will provide amazing opportunities to see an abundance of wildlife. I came during their annual Monarch festival. One of my favs!!!

Was very excited to see my first lighthouse in Florida, and it happened to be St. Marks and the Gulf of Mexico, then a real live gator in the wild and not on an airboat .

Beautiful place! If you ever want to see a gator in the wild, this is the place. Be sure to watch where you step!

This is a wonderful location for photos. We shoot here often and are always blown away by the natural beauty and beautiful light of the space. We see some local wildlife at every shoot, and we're very thankful to have such a stunning location nearby to Tallahassee.
We had a really great time here. Three hours on the river in kayaks, absolutely beautiful. We saw 3 manatee and a ton of turtles & fish. No gators, happily... Lots of friendly people, boating, fishing, just hanging out. Make sure you go far enough up river to find the manatee, they seem to like the wide area where there are also a bunch of houses. You can completely take the trip at your own pace, hit the tributaries, linger along the shoreline, rest when you want... It's completely relaxed. Expect to be in the sun for 3-4 hours, bring water & sunscreen... Enjoy!

We rented a dual kayak and had a blast. 6 miles of kayaking and 3 hours.
Scott Suber — Google review
Nice kayaking experience for 4 hours. You can explore the river and some side rivers on your own! In march there were no manatees but a baby alligator and lots of turtles!
Roman Schellenberg — Google review
Great place to rent a kayak or canoe and explore the river. There is plenty of wildlife to see, the area is quiet, clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Yep Gators and Manatee and many different bird species.

The friendly staff who helped us were members of the original family who started the business in the '70s, these were the third and fourth generation. All the equipment was in excellent condition. We had 3 hours of paddling on a warm February afternoon. Lots of turtles, one alligator, very few birds on this day.

I was able to rent a kayak at the last minute, they put the boat in the water and took it out. Very nice people, will be doing it again!

Awesome experience and a must do when in Tallahassee Florida or nearby to relax and spend time alongside nature. We got to see an Alligator and a Manatee, along with many turtles and birds.
Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park is a popular destination known for its riverboat tours, swimming, and snorkeling opportunities. The park boasts of a natural spring that is surrounded by Spanish moss and has an otherworldly aqua glow. It has been used as a filming location for movies such as Tarzan's Secret Treasure and The Creature from the Black Lagoon. With 1.
We love this place, the water is nice, the park is always clean including the bathrooms and grills. The hotel and gift shop is beautiful andbstaff is friendly. The only negative is if you get the covered tables by the woods you need to watch for ticks.

Beautiful fresh water lagoon! The water is cool, since it comes from under ground, and is super refreshing on hot days. There is a boat ride you can take and see lots of swamp wild life: manatees, alligators, fish, snakes, birds, turtles, etc. There is a public swimming area with swimming for little kids and adults. For those adventurous enough, the swimming area has a 20ft platform people can safely jump off of. We took our 3yr old on a boat ride, swimming area, and ice cream. Many others picnicked and grilled.
Aaron Kerwin — Google review
Phenomenal highly recommended a trip here and you need to go on the boat ride! We saw manatees, alligators and other wildlife on the boat! The water is so clear. The boat ride is cheap and very informative. The guide was awesome and knowledgeable! Do not miss going here when you are in the area! “The Hood” oh and the lodge is old so it’s got history and that’s cool. Black lagoon!

You will see wildlife on the boat tour. Our tour guide was awesome. I really enjoyed the nature experience. Saw multiple manatees, alligators, various birds and turtles! The shop has hot food and cold beverages to chose from as well. Great little store and park to visit.

I stayed at the Lodge and it was lovely! The beds were very comfortable! And breakfast was fantastic. The boat tour was very enjoyable, relaxing and informative. We saw many different birds, turtles, alligators and manatees. Due to the rain we did not get to walk the trails, but hopefully next time.

Nice park. You can see Manatees if you time it right. People were swimming and jumping off the deck. The water temperature stays consistent. Very nice gift shop. The food in the Restaurant was good. The only negative is they can't seem to keep their tour boats running. Not sure if that is a state issue or a local park issue.

Lovely grounds, swimming and picnic area. Absolutely no service inside. In dining room or snack shop. Multiple workers but none that seemed interested in any form of customer service.

Discovered this gem today. If you've never been, there is a huge lodge that you can stay overnight. A spring fed swimming area. And a boat ride through the spring run. The boat ride is additional cost from the park admission. On the boat ride, you will see lots of alligators, sea cows, birds and turtles. The guide will give you a lot of info about the park and how it was founded. There is also an ice cream shop in the lodge. The old 1950's movie, Creature From the Black Lagoon was filmed here.

It was very enjoyable. We had lunch at the picnic tables and even saw a tiny alligator at the sink holes! We were going to go on the boat tour but it was already booked for the day (due to FSU Homecoming traffic)
The chairs were super comfy in the lodge and the person behind the counter was super helpful!
The water felt great and there weren't very many people swimming!
Highly recommend

This is a must-do attraction if you’re anywhere near. Buy the river boat tickets ahead of time (make reservations a week in advance). This was the highlight of our trip to Tallahassee. We saw probably 30 alligators, hundreds of fish and birds, 4 manatees, and so many pretty views. There is a swimming area (which just happened to have a gator in it) with jumping platforms. The spring is pristine and such a treat to be able to experience. The lodge is beautiful, too.

The boat tour is a great place to see wildlife. We had a great tour guide (tall, young gentleman). A nice fresh water spring with a high dive to swim in. There are also some nature trails you can walk.
Reid Bland — Google review
Oh yes. Except for the occasional loud person, who spouts profanity before jumping off the diving platform, this place is family fun. Cool water that's clear and clean. Two platforms for jumping into the spring waters. Trails to explore. The boat ride is a must, at least once.
Paul Bass (Yay Verily) — Google review
We took the boat ride and it was great. We saw a lot of native Wildlife including alligators and manatees. If I can make one suggestion it would be that our guide spoke louder because he was really funny and informative at the same time.

We were there this year to enjoy the grounds and do some hiking. In the past, we have eaten at their magnificent Thanksgiving Day buffet. I love the architecture and nostagic feel of the inn. We spotted several manatees and a nursing calf this time. So special!

This is so much fun for any age. I'm on the rivers alot, but don't get to see the wildlife like you can here because they are gone before you get near. Plus Manatees are always a special treat!

Moving back to the area, the Springs not as clear. However the park recently went to Electric Tour boats! Bravo WSP!
The foods fantastic and if you get a chance to stay at the lodge, do.
The staff at the Lodge are cheerful and very helpful. Checking in and out no snags and the rooms are clean. No tv. Thank you

Nice state park, some hiking trails, a hotel with restaurant and gift shop. Info booth and a boat tour that is pretty fun. Not pet friendly. We saw manatees, turtles, great blue herons, many other water fowl, lots of fish in the super clear water, and a dozen or so sleeping alligators along the shore. We even saw a deer bedded down in an alligator nest. $8 for the boat tour of appx 45 mins. Lunch at the lodges was very good, and a bit on the pricey side, but they are super slow. So don't plan to make it a quick bite

I have been visiting wakulla springs my entire life. As a child in the 50s and '60s living in Florida with no air conditioning, my mother would bring us here several times a week to enjoy the cool year-rounds 71° water. We would often bring a picnic. At the time there was a snack/ burger/ hot dog bar where the showers are. There was a sunken"tub" with windows, you could look out into the river and watch huge large mouth bass swim by. Glass bottom boats perusing crystal clear waters and watch a" trained" fish jump over a log. The rooms at that time were furnished with original antique beds with little ladders. You climbed up to get into the bed 🙂 it is still an amazing place to go, the jungle cruises still operate and it's never tiring to hear the story of the filming of THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. Do a little research and find out about the history of Ed Ball and his connections to politics in Florida and one of the most powerful families to ever exist in the United States. Nothing is perfect. :-), but holiday buffets are wonderful at wakulla springs and provide an amazing unique venue to enjoy. Book early!

The St. Marks Trail is an excellent destination for families looking to enjoy outdoor activities with their children, such as bike riding or scooter riding. Many people also engage in rollerblading along the trail. It offers a picturesque setting, and it is highly recommended to bring water and snacks for the journey. There are numerous spots along the way where one can take breaks and have a small picnic.
Great place to take the kids for a bike 🚴 ride or out on the scooters 🛴. People also roller blade . I love using the bike 🚲 trail to bicycle with my carry along Schwann bike trailer for my toddler we go on adventures and trail ride all down the bike trail she really enjoys it . It’s beautiful 😍 just make sure to bring a bottle of water and a snack . Plenty of places to stop along the way and have a mini picnic 🧺. Make sure to bring bug 🐜 spray or something for the insects during the summertime

Very nice bike trail with a wide asphalt path, unisex Vault toilets, and covered benches periodically along the way. The mosquitoes will carry you away in certain parts though LOL make sure you have bug spray, and the horse and deer flies are sizable as well.

Long cycling along this route! The trail is completely covered by trees and it was such a refreshing bike ride from Tallahassee to St. Mark's. It's relatively flat throughout so biking on it is a breeze. And you get to enjoy an amazing vista by the riverside!

The lunch buffet is fantastic! You will not find better southern-style vegetables than here! I highly recommend this place.

I’ve played this course for over 20yrs and it’s in as bad as shape as I’ve ever seen. They have some type of weed growing on the greens that makes putting impossible. Reminds me of the price is right game “plinko”. I have no idea why they haven’t addressed this. The tee boxes are in uneven and not in good shape. The fairways are ok but not great. I will not return to this course unless there are major changes.

During lunch hours they have menu or buffet "open to the public"
We were traveling and saw this on "trip advisor" we have the buffet. Southern food at it's finest. I had the pleasure of meeting the chef "Betty". She definitely knows how to make collard greens, and black eyed peas.
We paid $17 each, definitely give them a try.

I love this course. The lay out is great and have been playing here for years BUT the greens are the worst I’ve ever seen. So much crab grass you don’t know where your ball is going. They make excuses it’s bc of the winter months but you can go to any other course is this area and play for the same price or cheaper and they have no issues with keeping their greens great. It’s been on going for 2 years now. Either lower the price or do better Quincy. I feel like I’m putting in my backyard

$50 for the greens the way they are is ridiculous. Asked the proshop and the answer was we just sanded them? Buddy my ball shouldn’t roll in 3 different directions on the way to the hole. Either cut the price or don’t play here!

This is a nice country course on a great piece of property. Hilly contours and mini-vistas keep us coming back from out of town over and over. The greens are soft and spongy, the fairways are "fair", and everything else is hard and dry.

Love this hidden treasure! The 9th hole, par 5, is one of my favorites. Putting the ball on the green, over the water on the third shot is always challenging yet fun. It's never really crowded like most courses in Tallahassee. On Tuesday I can play all I want for 25 bucks.

The Tallahassee Museum is a historical site on a beautiful lakeside property that offers school children enriching experiences with science, art, history and world cultures. The museum has exhibits of native animals in natural habitats and also has reconstructed historic buildings.
We had a blast and the staff was incredible!! We will be returning as it can be an all day adventure. I would recommend this park to anyone passing through or wanting to have a day full.of fun with the family 👪 😊. We did the full zip line trail and got to view some of the animals. Wow. Went not knowing what to expect. Encountered school field trip. We were not in any hurry so just joined in with the crowd. The Phipps Gallery was featuring artwork by Ernest M. Lee whom we are familiar with. We took the walk to see the animals. I liked the cypress trees the best. Lots of historical information. We visited a one-room schoolhouse. A railway inspector car and the gift shop. There is a cafe on the premises and lots of tables outside also. Zip lines for adults and kids. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Beautiful place.

My daughter was a little too short for the mid grade zip line and the young one turned out to be a bit too young for her. My son loved the mid level adventure. You need an adult to go with the child*
The rest of the outside area was nice with the different animals and historical pieces. Wonderful for a nice day.

We enjoyed walking around and seeing all the animals. The Museum staff and volunteers keep the property very well maintained. Everything was neat and tidy. The animals all looked amazing, and their areas were set up where you could see them easily. It was very hot the day we went, but there was plenty of shade to make it an enjoyable visit. Having a nice Café on-site to sit down to cool off while you ate was an extra bonus. Their lunch choices were very good and very tasty, as well as reasonably priced. It was also nice to have a gift shop to pick up something as a reminder about a great family day.

Great place. Large….something like 50+ acres. Agree it’s more like a zoo but animals appeared to be healthy and in their natural habitat. Agreed that reptiles should have larger homes but we were able to see almost all the animals. The tree activities would be great for younger folks. It was fantastic to be that close the animals and they were’t afraid. If I saw a black bear or panther in my backyard you’d hear me screaming in Texas!!

This place is always absolutely wonderful. Even with it being a 100° outside. As long as you go in the morning because they open at 9. You will be just fine, and the kids will have a blast. Even if you don't have kids, you will still have a good time. They have a tree to tree adventure and zipliness all over the place, They also have a playground and lots of animals. We had a GREAT time! I used to take my children and they went on field trips here. It was always such a treat. Now I have a Grandbaby and we took her for the first time. Her favorites were the sheep and the pigs! The otter was quite lazy and slept for our entire visit. What a great day. (The picture of the dinosaur is made only of car parts).

My boys went to zip line there. They absolutely loved the experience. Trainers were very friendly and instructed kids well. Please note that if thunders are in the area, the zip line place will be closed for further notice. We experienced this type of close-down twice in three days. I guess it’s pretty common during the rainy season. Parents, bring bug sprays and wear sneakers, mosquitoes and ants in the late July will annoy you for sure. I love most Jim Gary’s animal sculptures made of abandoned car parts. They look so live and beautiful. Oh, we encountered a golden lizard too, a live one not a sculpture.

The Tallahassee Museum has a lot to offer for a low admission price. Nature trails, animal exhibits, history exhibits, and canopy walks and zip lines. Strolling through the tree tops has an additional charge, but the area is so beautiful it is worth it. The animals are extremely well cared for and have a variety of enrichment items to interact with. On top of it all, they participate in the SPP (species protection plan) for the critically endangered red wolf! The grounds are very well kept and so are the exhibits themselves. There is most certainly something for the whole family to enjoy here.

I went here March 2022 and another time afterwards and my kids and I had a blast. They had a lot of different activities so no one should be bored. Wasn’t too pricey either!

My favorite museum/zoo in the panhandle! The historic sites are beautiful and well maintained, and I love how all of the animals are rehabilitated rather than bred in captivity. The animals have a very realistic habitat rather than small, confined spaces. A very diverse museum that represents Old Florida in an interactive environment. 10/10

Lovely place to visit and spend time. Plenty to walk around. Great animal exhibits. Lots of animals to view. Some cool history, but is more of a zoo sanctuary than a museum. Regardless worth the visit. Spent 4 hours checking everything out.

This is an outdoors museum. They have bears, white tail deer, Florida cougars, bald eagles, red tip owls, wolves, various birds, foxes, to name a few. The lake encroaches on the property which makes for beautiful cypress forest. There are various dinosaur sculptures by Jim Gary. He used old car parts from the 1950's, 60's, and 70's. Whimsical and creative. The walkways are easy to navigate. Highly recommend the museum.

All local animals found in Florida/Georgia. A lot of them are rescue animals found hurt or needing healthcare. Nice sized animal exhibit, very cool wooden playground and for the thrill seekers there is zip lines and obstacle courses! Little ones had a blast!

This place is definitely much closer to a zoo than a museum and pretty much all of it except a very small center is outdoors. This will not be very accessible to everyone as there's some parts that are dirt, mulch, gravel and boardwalk. However, the majority of it is shaded which is nice and the views were beautiful. All the animals had great big and very natural enclosures and all seemed healthy, which is always nice to see (I do wish their reptile enclosures were larger as they certainly have the space for it). We even got to see deer treading through swamp water which was new to me! The place is dotted with different flora all around as well. And my favorite part was trying to find the foxes up in the trees!! They also had metal prehistoric creatures sporadically placed around the property! It was neat!

If you're thinking, "the state capital of a tourist state must have a fantastic museum," then you don't know Tallahassee. This is less of a city museum/zoo and more of a Billy Bob's Gator Emporium where you're left wondering if you did actually find the right place. Don't get me wrong, the staff seemed to care, and the animals were taken care of, but it was also in the middle of the woods surrounded by swamps, and you could tell.
Probably my biggest complaint is the one bridge over the swamp that was pretty rotted and felt unsafe to be on the entire time. I'm not talking about turning brown and peeling paint, I'm talking squelching wood that leaks water like a sponge and leaves an indent of your foot. On the other hand, the bridge around the gators actually seemed to be in good repair, which was relieving.
I suppose if I had realized that Tallhassee was a fairly rural city, none of this would have been surprising. It was just surprising coming from another Florida city and having expectations for the state capital to appear something like Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa. Just know what to expect. I would describe it as a nature walk around a small collection of late 1800s farm houses that also has a couple of native animals, and sometimes you see a metal dino sculpture.

Fun time. So interesting to see such great wildlife exhibits in a museum! The staff are doing a great job maintaining this place!!
The Mission San Luis de Apalachee is a museum that preserves the history of Spanish explorers and the merging of cultures between Spanish settlers and Native Floridians. The Apalachee Council House, which was once used as a meeting place for the Native chiefs, is an important part of this museum. Other buildings on site include the church, convent, fort and typical Spanish house.
This is a nice informative museum that offers a unique interactive glimpse into Florida's early Spanish colonial history. Tallahassee's little Williamsburg. I was hoping to find native American artifacts and I was not disappointed. The residents of the mission park are engaging and knowledgeable and add an extra dimension to the museum experience. The fort commander knew his detail and the friar at the church authentically made me feel guilty and ashamed. I had a good time.

Beautiful informative museum preserving Florida’s history. Quite a gem. Loved the blacksmith demonstration especially, that was our favorite part! We even bought a J hook from the gift shop made from the blacksmith on site. The interactive staff were great, adding information and facts about the different areas. Dog friendly, our pup had a great time walking around. Highly recommend. Really enjoyed our time here. 10/10.

This place has a small museum in the front that's free to visit, and a bunch of recreated buildings in the back that show what life was like hundreds of years ago at this location. If you like historical stuff, this is a very interesting place to visit. Recreated Appalachee council house, Spanish settler's house, Spanish fort. Costumed staff will explain things from the perspective of the inhabitants. Also, cheap to enter so overall well worth a visit.

Really enjoyed this stop! It is only $5 for an adult and you walk through the village with people dressed up telling you about their area. The blacksmith was actually making items that are for sale in the gift shop. The soldiers were really cool and very informative. We also really enjoyed checking out the church part and talking to the fryer!

The living history folks really make the place. With them telling the story of the location and explaining the details and then thinking of it in the overall context of what was happening in the "new world" was interesting to hear. Seeing the large structures and two cultures live peacefully was pretty cool.

We had done extensive research throughout Tallahassee and Thomasville for venues but nothing seemed to fit our style as well as Mission did. The beautiful ceremony area, the intimate cocktail hour courtyard, and the elegant reception hall all just matched our vision for our dream wedding. Though we had a beautiful ceremony outside in front of the arch, their inside alternative for a rainy day is just as beautiful. It gave me peace of mind knowing I had that option if needed. We appreciated their communication with any changes and willingness to let us drop to tour the premises multiple times. Mission San Luis provided us with a beautiful location for our wedding and we can’t thank them enough!

I had the most wonderful time photographing a wedding here. Firstly, there are rooms on the second floor that make it really easy to go from getting ready to the outside for ceremony. There are lots of trees and the landscaping is very well maintained so that there are tons of possibilities for couples shot and family shots. Inside in the reception area the lighting is nice and moody but we can get some really good shots with off camera flashes as the ceiling provides a good way to bounce the flash. Overall, this a great place for a wedding! I highly recommend it.

We loved learning about the history of our home state. The staff was friendly and helpful. We attended on homeschoolers day and enjoyed an educational "mystery" where the children searched for clues. The setting is lovely too, Spanish moss sways from the old Oaks. We enjoyed the whole experience very much.

I’ve visited a few times, and I have enjoyed each visit. The volunteers are passionate and seem to love sharing the early history of Tallahassee. It’s a nice place to take a walk and you can even bring your dog (leashed of course).

This is the coolest museum! I thought the period dress guides would be cheesy, but instead they made the museum. The staff is a wealth of in depth knowledge. You can have one on one conversations with them and get answers to any question you have…and even answers to questions you didn’t know you had. I HIGHLY recommend this museum to everyone. 100% A+++
Florida State University is a public university located in Tallahassee, Florida. The school offers a variety of courses and programs in a beautiful campus. The sports program is very successful, and the student body is highly engaged in extracurricular activities.
Wonderful institution with highly renowned and quality professors. Most beautiful campus in the state scattered with aged live-oaks, historic buildings, and an incredible landscape design. Unmatched access to the Florida State Capitol. Tours available through the FSU Visitors Center at the stadium.

As a little kid and following in my dad's footsteps and learning about football in general and then beginning to know about Florida State football and the university as a whole, when I got to my teens I knew there was nothing else to follow and fall in love with except FSU and Florida State football. Now that I'm in my 40's, I've learned alot more about Florida State University, the history...the love and passion and what it means to be an FSU fan.....it's a lifestyle! It's what I share proudly with family and friends. It's the life long dedication I see with older people that go to the football games at Doak Campbell Stadium...it's the Holy Grail of my college football world and nothing will change that because we are Florida...State.... University! Go Noles!! Fear the Spear-----;;> Unconquered....

They campus is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great tour here. The area is really nice as well. I can't complain about the weather either since I was born and raised in Florida and it beats the freezing cold. They have good academics and are well recognized, at least in my perspective and I can't see a valid reason I personally wouldn't want to go here - meaning I think it would be a great school to attend. It's also in the states capital, which for my major is a huge perk.

Beautiful campus! Came up for a College Tour. Organized; they seem to do so much for the students to ensure they excel/succeed.

Watch their sponsors and you know what you will learn. Doesn't have anything to do with real science. It's 99% exactly the stuff which their sponsors are selling which is taught here. Also they ask for endless immunizations to join - even for remote/online learning when never on campus. Tells everything about the corruption here. Money goes in circles ...

Located in Tallahassee, Florida, Cascades Park is a 24-acre recreational hub with paved trails, an amphitheater, historical landmarks & a war memorial. The park features Capital City Amphitheater and a fountain with light, music, splash pads, and boulder climbing.
Cascades is one of the best spots in town for families to walk around and enjoy the scenery. They host a lot of local events and have a huge stage for music & performances.
There's an area for kids to play around, and a beautiful fountain that lights up at night. The kids love playing in the fountain in their bathing suits! It's a great little family-friendly park with a lot to offer.

A beautiful park with gardens, Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is a popular spot for hiking, biking, fishing, and swimming. The grounds include a secret garden that is often used for weddings and also have a beautiful reflecting pool and camellias.
I absolutely love this place! The lady is very sweet who gives out the info. She always makes sure we are taken care of and have everything we need. The recreation area is nice and we love to kayak there! The gardens are fantastic in the spring especially, but all year around. It's just a magical place to me. I love the trees there!

Beautiful gardens. Come in February to seek camellia's in their Bloom. Come in March to see azaleas in their Bloom. Come in April to see a dogwoods in their balloon. During blooming season there is an extra charge in addition to the State Park entrance fee.

This park is so rich with scenic foliage and it’s masterfully landscaped. Rich in history it is highly recommended that you include the gardens and the hunting lodge. They have tours of the lodge included with the entrance fee and the volunteers are a wealth of knowledge on the family that resided here just a few months of the year. January to April are the months things begin to bloom, my pics were taken mid January this year.

I stopped here to break up a long drive on I-10. I just checked out the gardens but there are trails that I might try on a future trip. The gardens were in full bloom and so colorful with all the azaleas. I'd highly recommend a timing a visit to see everything blooming if you can.

Took our two new kayaks there to test them out. They did great! There are lots of nice people at the beach. Beautiful flowers, water lilies, and herons. Small lake for kayaking, but if you circle the shores, you will get a good workout, and see pretty homes.

I can't say enough great things about this park. I was there to take a walk, but many families were there taking prom photos. You can see from my uploaded pics how beautiful it is. A true gem in Tallahassee. It is fairly small so it would be an ideal walk for families with younger children and elderly parents. There was a $6 car fee to enter but I have a state park pass so it was no charge.

This park was awesome! Beautiful to walk around and plenty to see. Very peaceful. We did see an alligator so I’d suggest staying on paths marked for visitors which are likely more safe (we took a wrong turn at one point). Different feels for different areas. A recommended stop if in the area. I would definitely go back.

What a mesmerizing experience!
As we arrived and wandered into the gardens, it felt as though we were crossing the threshold into an enchanted realm from the pages of a cherished tale. Every corner revealed meticulously tended grounds, and the path unfolded like a magical ribbon guiding our steps. At each twist and turn, we were met with breathtaking vistas and inviting nooks to pause and immerse ourselves in the crisp, invigorating air.
Our visit, nestled within the embrace of late November, offered a delightful surprise – despite the approaching chill of winter, the gardens were alive with a riotous burst of blooms, as if nature herself had woven a tapestry of colors to dazzle our senses.
This haven proved to be a haven for myriad pursuits – from capturing the ethereal beauty through the lens of a camera, to embarking on tranquil nature strolls that soothed the spirit and lifted the soul. Truly, it was an experience that transported us to a realm where worries fade and the wonders of the natural world embrace us with open arms.

The Tallahassee Automobile Museum is a must-see tourist attraction in Tallahassee, Florida that showcases some of the most beautiful and iconic vintage cars in the world. From roadsters to sports cars, this museum has something for everyone who loves automobiles. The museum also features exhibits on the history of the automobile industry in the United States and provides educational opportunities for visitors of all ages.
Its an amazing place. It's a collector's heaven. Calling it an automobile museum doesn't do it justice. The photos I added are of just some of the non car items there. Be prepared to walk for hours. MORE THAN AUTOS - We enjoyed a walk through history- there is so much more then cars here. There are two levels of a great variety of collectibles- cars, motorcycles, pianos, farm machinery, dolls, knives, watches, guns, cash registers, sewing machines, electric fans, kiddie cars, NASCAR, Batman display, canoes, boat outboard motors, Baseball, football and golf collectibles… I’m sure I missed many sections.
There is an elevator for way access to second level.
Price $$ at this time for 2 people $17.50 each. Children 4 and under Free.
Restrooms well cared for. Water fountains. A few benches to rest. Enjoyable stop 🛑 friendly service.
Easy access and plenty of parking. Quick in and off of I-10 - nice stop if traveling and you need to stretch and walk awhile and enjoy history.

Make sure to have time to see everything! I've been twice now, and saw so many things I didn't notice the first time. A must-see collection if you like classic and antique cars, toys, Case knives, outboard motors, motorcycles and too many other odds and ends to mention (like grand pianos!).

Absolutely amazing! They have some of the very first cars, all the way until present day. Aisles and aisles of cars, on 2 stories. There are also various collections of other things... dolls, guns, toy cars, old cash registers, pianos, old golf clubs, etc., etc.
Be prepared to spend quite awhile in here. It would be good for a day outing. It would be a great place to go for a weekend trip too. We'll worth it.
The only negative thing I have to say is that it was hot inside. They have ac, but we're not running it for some reason.

Wonderful collection of cars and Case knives and pianos too. Also a great selection of police badges and guns both handguns and rifles. More outboard motors than you can imagine, model ships, motorcycles, sports memorabilia and much, much more! It's well worth going but they close at 5pm- get there early, it's few hours to take it all in.

Took my 11 year old grandson, something I was just doing for him because of this love for older cars. Turns our this grandma had a great time there as well. This is a must see. If you're in the area or headed to Florida, be sure to make a stop here. This place is off the hook awesome, stuffed with collectables of every kind. There are plenty of cars, yes, but something for everyone from baseball cards, to knives, to guns, to dolls. Engines, to Batmobiles, to toys, to riding toys, to Native American artifacts. From record players to fans, pianos to violins...golf balls to bronze statues....just go! Amazing! I can't believe how few people were there. This place should be packed! An awesome activity to beat the heat or rain. Pet friendly...give yourself three or four hours and enjoy!

A hobby collector goes wild! There is a little bit of this and that. Cars are the center of the museum (hence the name). From old radios, knifes, boat motors, star trek memorabilia. To, dolls, pianos, and a vampire hunting kit, and much more! Takes it least a few hours or more to walk through. They give a veterans discount and larger party discounts. Fun experience!

There were a LOT of cars (all kinds!), but also many, many other things to look at: sports memorabilia, radios, Native American artifacts, pianos.... Great trip!
It is a great fall scene. Plenty of photo opportunities. Toddler enjoyed it. We successfully got a small wheeled wheelchair through the entire place. It is not paved, but there is a dirt path. Petting zoo and animals. A corn maze and a place for kids to play in a barrel of corn (a bunch of kids really enjoyed this part). There is food and places to sit and eat. Overall a fun activity. $10 per person. Kids under 3 are free.

We made our annual visit to Aunt Louise's Farm today and had a ball! We started the afternoon in the corn maze at the front of the farm. The kids led us around and did a great job navigating with only a few dead ends. The corn maze was also taller this year than it has ever been before.
Next up was the corn pit. The kids buried each other in corn and enjoyed jumping around with new friends.
We headed in to see the animals next. We got to hold tiny bunnies that were only 10 days old! We bought a few cups of food for $1 each and made the rounds. We noticed a few new additions and said hello to some of our old friends.
We also took the tractor tour and the kids toured the grounds on the barrel ride.
Concessions are available and reasonably priced. Cash only. There are also portable restrooms available, as well as several sinks with soap and paper towels.
Thanks for another great visit! See you next year.
