Really cool spot that is IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Honestly, you will drive for about 30 minutes without seeing anybody or anything, and then you’ll come upon this little church. I think they have surveillance cameras because there’s been a lot of visitors since the movie, but it looks just like it did on camera. So cool, old and vintage. A must visit for any Tarantino fan.

I loved it here!! The owner of the church was so sweet! She gifted us a signed book and a large poster of the Ten Commandments for our living room (so kind!!). I really did wish that the big truck wasn’t blocking the entrance but it was a great experience, we enjoyed the mini history tour of the church too. The owner will answer literally every question you’d have. Please beware that there’s a dog on the premises.
Ashley N G — Google review
We had an incredible experience and were lucky enough to get a tour and presentation from the Pastor. When we arrived, we were happy to take pictures with the truck parked out front, but the Pastor was kind enough to move the truck and take photos of us in front of the building.
Highly recommend but manage expectations as to whether the Pastor will be available.

July 2021-Please do not waste your time or gas. This church does not welcome visitors and is not tourist friendly. The church has a wired rope with signs all around saying “Warning-No Trespassing ” and another one that says “Prayers is the best way to meet the Lord. Trespassing is faster (with a picture of a gun pointing at you). There’s a truck parked right in front preventing visitors from taking pictures. Clearly the owner of the church does not want people there. Let’s respect that. Besides the drive was horrible. You drive in the desert for about 15 miles. It’s a remote area and you may lose your phone/internet signal (I did). The desert has been taken over by homeless encampments 🙏🏽 . The drive and the remote surroundings are not safe. I’m a women and drove my kids out there & I was frightened. 😱 I hope this helps . Blessings!

Definitely worth the trip.
Paster is super chill & everything inside is worth of view especially if your a fan of cinema.

Super cool! Make sure to be there when Pastor Oscar is there! He will not only move the truck out of the way AND assist with photos, but he explains the cool history of the building.
Antonia Vail (Amarva) — Google review
The drive here was only 35 minutes for me.
The directions were perfect.
The only down fall for me was this truck parked right in front of the church, it seems to be a tourist attraction now, so that’s probably why.
Still would’ve been nice to get some front shots. I did manage to get some pictures.
It is the real deal from kill bill “Massacre at Two pines”

What an experience! The owners gave us a tour and history of the space which has been tweaked and refined by the film industry over the past few decades. Fascinating and well worth going here if you are travelling from LA to Las Vegas
Rhodri Thomas — Google review
This is an active church and is roped off with signs No Trespassing. However, if you are lucky, the pastor may let you in and he will give you a tour as he did for us and other on the day we visited. He was a very nice guy. This is the church that was featured in one of the main scenes on one of the Kill Bill volumes. Some of the buildings across the street are also used for movie sets. Also across the street, is a rock known as Elephant Rock. This place is a little ways out from main civilization, but to me, it was worth the trip, especially since we were granted a tour and got to see the inside. The looks on the outside are a little deceiving...the structure on the interior is just awesome, especially if you like that sort of thing.
Rick Simper — Google review
The property is now private, it’s covered in trash and signs and they blocked the view of the front with a large truck

I had the opportunity to attend the church in Lancaster, CA where the movie Kill Bill was shot, and I must say it was a unique and memorable experience. The church has a rich history and is known for its role in the movie, which added to the appeal for me as a fan of Quentin Tarantino's work.
The location of the church is quite impressive, with stunning architecture and a beautiful interior.
I was impressed with the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff and congregation were friendly and hospitable, and I felt at ease from the moment I entered the doors.
I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the church's unique background.
Overall, I highly recommend this church to anyone in the area looking for a meaningful and memorable experience. The combination of rich history, stunning architecture, and warm hospitality make it a must-visit for anyone with an interest in religious or cultural landmarks
Park with a museum featuring many Native American artifacts & interactive exhibits.
Love it. When you get off the highway you get the sence that you're going the wrong way but once you arrive surprise. Whoever built the house had quite an imagination, the way he or she integrated the big rock formations and adapted them as a water fountain and the chimney. Also the way he incorporated the native trees to make different house hold items.
Juan Lopez — Google review
Nice opportunity to learn a few things and connect somewhat with the history and flavor of the area. Would be nice if really more the spirit of the people's were captured, whereas museums are usually kinda bound to artifacts. I ask a lot of museums. This was a nice surprise.

Very nice little museum on the Indians in the area.
There are small hiking trails around that give nice views of the desert.
Rick Simper — Google review
This was such a cool place to visit with the kids, there's a lot of information when it comes to the history. The art work within the museum is very authentic and represents the culture very well.
Tamara Drury — Google review
It's small, very informative but also very limited to what you can see or where you can walk around. The kids liked it, but we were literally there for an hour maybe less from beginning to end, including a small 1/4 mile walk around the outside.
CHRIS V (Sleepz) — Google review
Visited as a child and has always stuck in my mind so had to go back on a visit home to see family. The museum is built into a rock so some stairs are in the rock face. Lots of paintings on walls and a lot of Indian artifacts. Took my disabled mom with a walker there and there was access for her to see everything inside.
Erika — Google review
This is such a cool place. Built almost 100 years ago, this wooden frame structure is built into the granite rocks of the area, incorporating them into the living space. The collection of Native American artifacts include information on how collections and cataloging items have changed over the decades.
The guest cottages and grounds are interesting and there is a nature trail around the park.
Laura Dixon — Google review
Worth the time to come, pictures make no justice to this little place. It's only 3 dollars to get in and kids 12 and under are free. It's a two stories building, it's not big but it just has a lot to read and once you are inside it's another world. Simply beautiful.
Maria Rivera — Google review
I loved this museum and the event. It was very educational and entertaining. The staff was really friendly. My tip would be to take an umbrella because it does get hot due to it being in the desert. If there is not any parking in the lot, you will have to walk uphill to get to the museum.
M. T. — Google review
This place has a great history of local tribes if you are looking to learn about the native Americans who were here before everyone dating back to 5000BCE and probably earlier. No dogs allowed, but if you bring them, keep them in the parking lot.

Was able to have the chance to watch and interact with the native community blessing from Indian tacos to Native and Aztec Dancers but my Favorite Local Native Families participating... looking forward for next year

Beautiful museum for a small fee!! Worth the visit.

Beautiful building and decor with amazing artifacts collections. The surrounding desert is breathtaking. The natural trail is short and fun. A great detour for the whole family. The entrance fee receipt can be used to enter other nearby state parks on the same day for free.

Loved the gift shop. Prices were affordable.
This place has changed a lot in the last 15 years. They used to have so much more to look at. But now they let you walk around and see the little houses they have on the property.

Saddleback Butte State Park

Picnic ground
Saddleback Butte State Park is a desert park that showcases rare wildlife and offers various trails and campgrounds. The park provides breathtaking views of the saddleback butte and features an impressive paved trail with an informative guide, allowing visitors to explore its history and ecology. The well-maintained nature of the park, along with its numerous covered picnic areas and informative pamphlets, create a memorable experience for visitors.
Nice little park and visitor center. There is camping here, although we didn't do the camping. We spent maybe an hour here at the visitor center which has a nice display of what you may find in this area. There is a nice concrete paved trail that our kids and us enjoyed. Nice views of the desert.

Nice park for a weekend trip. It’s blooming now (04/13/24). But be careful with a dog because of thorns everywhere.

Great views of the Valleys, and walking trails are friendly. You can camp, but for me its a just a greay path to walk for fresh air, and peaceful time.
Catherine Gause — Google review
went here oct 1. great place and trail is very wheelchair friendly. there is a paved loop trail which also has benches. the loop trail starts unpaved but becomes paved around trail marker 5. the visitor center is very educational but less accessible (there are stairs to get in)
go here in spring or fall- if you are expecting wildflowers, go in april or may
Raven (i cant swim) — Google review
Great state park with fantastic views of the saddleback butte as well as an awesome paved trail with an interpretive guide that leads you through the history and the ecology of the park. Was very pleasantly surprised by the well-kept nature of the park, as well as the numerous covered picnic areas, and well researched pamphlets that give you a really good feel for this state park. Living in LA, had never heard of this place, but so glad that I decided to stop by - and will be coming again soon. Also lots of really interesting Joshua trees, creosote bushes, and yucca night lizards!

Fun little day trip. My son and I walked the trail, theres a brochure at the top by visitor center with numbers attached to info corresponding to numbered poles on the trail.
Lisa Villalpondo — Google review
Wonderful. Was there from noon till sundown on 11/28/23 hiking to the top of the butte. Incredible views from the top are well worth the strenuous hike. Beautiful vegetation all along the trail.
Trey Chambers — Google review
Always a safe space to come back to. There's a bathroom but no shower and you have access to water too. Rangers are pretty chill too, one of the best campgrounds we experienced. We love the shade that most campsites have. I recommend!
Jess Garcia — Google review
Not tons of parking which is actually good in a way. Staff in the visitor center were nice and helpful. One of the other members of my hiking group said one of the rangers was rude. That's why 4 not 5. I wonder if they have to deal with a lot of drama and trash dumps like the rest of the desert 😒 DON'T TRASH OUR WORLD!
Megan B — Google review
Fantastic little park! Has the main camping area a little close to the road but there is a secondary area that's plenty far from noise. There's a great little PAVED loop that is 100% wheelchair accessible, and plenty of dirt paths that stretch for awhile. HAVE MORE WATER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED READY.

Saddleback Butte State Park is a state park in the Antelope Valley of the western Mojave Desert, in Southern California. It is located east of Lancaster, north of the community of Lake Los Angeles, and south of the city of Edwards in the unincorporated city of Hi Vista
Daytime use is $6, $5 for Seniors and $3 for the Disabled. Overnight camping is $20. Centralized Restrooms are available for the 50 camping sites. Each camping spot has a table, a fire ring and an overhead shelter.
The prominent feature and namesake of the park is Saddleback Butte, that is 3,651 feet (1,113 m) high.
Saddleback Butte State Park includes over 2,955 Acres of land, and was created in 1960 to protect the area's Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia) desert habitat.
The lights of Los Angeles obscure the stars in the sky, so star gazing isn't advisable. A nice place to hang out away from the cities.
I've been utilizing this nice and fairly small park since the early 70s and have always found the park to be clean, spotless and well maintained, always free of litter! This is a wonderful park to feel the ambience and at times harsh weather of the western Mojave Desert. During the early spring the winds may blow excessively strong.
It's delightful to have this wonderful park as a great escape from the City.
Impressive corporate Visitor Center with a complete history of the mine and the minerals in the area and includes a good video presentation. Anyone traveling through the area should make a point to stop in, especially if you visited Death Valley!
Wayne Clark — Google review
Interesting visit to this museum. We had bonuses about this place but got a tip from a former employee who now works at a pizza place. Nice display about the history of the mining operation and the current work being done here. A new platform outside gives a great view of the whole open pit and surrounding industry. There was a guide there who could tell interesting things about the place and the shop was a nice surprise with loads of fun things to buy (50% geology related of course). Takes about 1-2 hours to visit but definitely worth it if you happen to pass by.
Steven Bron — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised with this visitors center. We were welcomed right away and given information. The center feels more like a museum, well made. There is a bunch of neat displays to look at. There is a lite gift shop with a nice assortment of things. I recommend this place for old and young.

So impressive I went to see so nice there recommended this place museum borax. Showing great historical and educational Video auditorium.
Rene Sandoval — Google review
I had the best time learning more about boron, 20 Mule Team, and this incredible mining operation. The visitor's center is put together very well, the gift shop is great, and most importantly the staff were so courteous and informative. You get a spectacular view of California's biggest open pit mine, and can watch the gargantuan machinery at work. Really cool!
Drew R — Google review
Free admission to this well curated visitors center. Short video as well as a gift shop and information about the development of the mine and its current operations.
John Espinosa — Google review
Small visitor center but packed with information. 15 minute video on the company and site. They have views of the pit which is huge. It’s a nice place to stop and stretch and learn something new.
Lila Keeley — Google review
A highlight location whenever visiting Boron, CA. This mine is the largest open-pit mine in California and the 2nd largest Borax mine in the world providing 1/3 of the world's supply of Borax. Several fun photo opportunities available (Pit Mine Overlook, Giant Truck, Giant Tire, Life-sized Original 20-Mule Team Wagon, etc) and several piles of rocks in the parking lot where you can even gather your own borates. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable with both Marlon and Elsie making our experience memorable in their own ways. Couple this visit with Boron's 20-Mule Team Museum for a more thorough understanding of the history of the local area.

Great stopover to take a break. Even in place of the nearby rest area. Learn a bit of history. You prob have some product in your closet.

My husband did a commercial for 20 mule team as a baby, so this was a great side trip! The visitor center is great, history mining museum and great views inside the mine. Staff was so very friendly and informative!

I've always knew about Borax, but stopping here and learning about the mine and the process was great! Love the visitors center and being able to see the mine and the plant and learnthe history!
Great museum. Can't beat the price...FREE. Nice staff.
Really nice display of the blackbird and a couple others.
There is also free access next door at the Joe Davies Heritage Park.

Took. a little History tour. To the Blabird Park. In Palmdale, CA. It was awsome! Looking at all this, military birds. Some were used in World War II. I got to learn a little history. Majority, of this planes. Have a little informative stand.
It's great to see the military planes with your own eyes.
Take a trip and learn a little history.
Rosie Martin — Google review
This free history park, donations accepted, is an excellent stop for a good sample of military aircraft. The highlight is the SR71 and A12 aircraft parked right next to each other along with an intact engine on a cart along w a D-21 drone . Excellent signs and history details abound. Bring water, this is the desert and it can be hot.
Craig Philpott — Google review
Came from LA and had a marvelous time! Got to speak with an SR-71 pilot who told excellent stories! Wonderful museum!
Connell Boken — Google review
Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale California is a beautiful site. We visited on a day when it was closed…it’s only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday…but we were able to walk around the outside fence and still get a nice look at the collection of aircraft history. Loved seeing two SR-71 Blackbirds next to each other along with U2 Dragon lady version. They have. 747 on the end of the park that NASA used to fly the space shuttles. Super cool to see in person! Lockheed Martin Skunkworks is located just down the road on Sierra Hwy as well. The town created some amazing aircraft just outside of Edwards Air Force Base. Be sure to give it a visit sometime!
Scott Schaefer — Google review
I was looking for things to do while in Lancaster/Palmdale one weekend, and stumbled across this place on Google maps. I drove down and decided to check it out after some other errands I had to run, and it was well worth it. I spent an hour or two here, most of which was talking to the staff, volunteers, and veterans that were hanging out in the air conditioned gift shop. Needless to say, I loaded up on patches and coins before checking out the aircraft. Speaking of them, the static displays were well-kept and the park was clean. Definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you are an aircraft enthusiast.
William Mc — Google review
Didn’t realize it would be so big. Technically the blackbird park part is small, but attached to the Palmdale operated portion of the museum. They are open at the same time and both free. Nice amount of shade and well designated paths. Really awesome collection of original aircraft that have operated at Edwards and elsewhere.
Brent Hofmann — Google review
This visit was loved, I had tried to come several times and always closed but today we made it... although there was 97 degree sun, free entry and beautiful planes to see... if you are a fan of NASA this place is for you. ..and the gift shop a lot to buy from $4.99...Visit this place you won't regret it.
NATYP — Google review
My dad's favorite plane.
Whenever I drive by I always think of him.
As a kid he would take me to the annual airshow at Edward's Airforce Base in Mojave and boast about how the Blackbird was the biggest and baddest of its time.
Pretty cool to see this (now decommissioned) plane up close and personal.
The volunteers are polite, professional, and knowledgeable.
Enjoyed going with my mom this day.
Christina Jones — Google review
Very nice little (free museum) supported by volunteers. 2xSR71’s and a drone plus other mystic jets. We have been told a former SR71 pilot was coming on sundays…. (Those guys are true pilots and heroes).
Reasonably priced, but the three people working the estate sale were rude.

We hired Karen and her team to handle the sale of our parents estate. It truly could not have gone more smoothly. Karen was extremely professional and was consistently in contact with me before during and after the sale. I would highly recommend On the Boulevard Estate Sales- 100%!

I loved meeting the owners husband and some of the other merchants who hold booths within this store. Everything is so well kept most items are in like new condition. They were welcoming especially with my 3 almost 4 year old and didn't mind that she look and often touch some of the items. I will be a lifelong customer as long as this store stays open. :)

Came for a wine tasting today and had many surprises in the particular tastes 😋 of Merlot, Cabernet 2014, Porto 11 years and the Rose of merlot 2016. Wow so good! They have for all taste buds. The owner gave us a tour and staff was very friendly. I was in heaven with the great aromatic wines available. 🍷 Lots of parking and very calm cozy atmosphere and nice view at the front patio. 👌
Edee Lo — Google review
First off, Sam at the counter, awesome! The wine was good and view is beautiful, however, the service could have used a bit more time in the barrels. Between the 3 people serving us, they didn’t communicate or keep track of our tastings and stopped us short. Even had the audacity to say they served must to much. They could have asked, but didn’t directly. Go to Le Chêne, stop at Auga Dulce. This place is a beautiful disaster.
Shundaire Cantley — Google review
Small, private, comforting, humble, and a "home" atmosphere. The red wines are really very great. The white port was different. I absolutely would recommend stopping in. 7 tasting for the price is amazing; the cheese board was very good. It paired extremely well. The hospitality is great. We had great service.
Erik Encinas — Google review
A joke. Let me start by saying I am French so I do know what wine tasting is. Here is what is wrong with this place:
They pour different wines in the same glass without cleaning it which changes the flavor of which ever one your savoring.
The cheese plate presentation is ridiculous and the quality of their cheese is so bad. Let s not talk about the couple pieces of salami served with it.
And for last the cocasian lady that served us didn't even know what wine was on the property. She had to ask a worker.
I do not recommend this winery nor should you spend your money at this place.
Max — Google review
A hidden gem in Agua Dulce ! Such a pleasure through and through. Amazing service, great quality wine and spectacular views of their vineyard.
Christopher Mejia — Google review
I loved the view, the entry through the vineyard is amazing. We tasted 7 wines and I can tell that half of them were great expression of the territory and climate of Southern California.
It is hard to not leave with at least a couple bottles after the tasting.
They have a very wide selection and vintages.
I need to understand a little more about the wines. When you get the wine poured, it doesn't come with a description of the flavors or the variety, they have a book and you can ask for it if you want to know more or just ask the staff. Staff is ready to help and very nice and accomodating.
If you just want to go there and enjoy the day with food and wine, this is perfect!
To taste the wines, you must purchase the food.
The tasting cup is the problem. With this shape, you can only taste the flavor of the wine, leaving outside the shades of the color and the perfume of the wine. I would try to find a cup that has the shape of a wine tumbler. It is totaly possible. However, you can purchase the proper wine glass and take it with you as a souvenir. I would make this a must, adding it to the tasting experience without giving the plastic cup. I kind of regret I didn't buy it but I will be back for sure!
Daniela Pintea — Google review
It's a very chill place, just 40 minutes outside of the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. It's a rare find in that it's small and family-owned, it offers good wine, and you can just slow down, enjoy the view, and along with the company!
Meredith Brown — Google review
Beautiful location with a wonderful staff and most Charming owners. Today was a wonderful afternoon and have their tastings with music and met some wonderful people. This is a nice way to spend the day on your weekends.
David Berke — Google review
It was a bit hard for me to find the driveway off the main hwy. I’m not from the area and traveling alone. The tasting room was quaint and the servers nice. I personally like to learn about the regions I’m tasting from and wish they had information like this to share. Maybe a little history about the winemaker and his wife and how they came to winemaking. The owners wife was friendly and said she could call her husband that he could tell me the information I was looking for. That takes away from the experience actually. The wines didn’t meet my palates expectations and that’s where the education could have been more helpful . I’ll most likely try the regions wine again on my next visit and research before hand.

Super fun place. Tickets are under 20$ for amazing seats. Great seats are 12$. It is future.MLB stars in a smaller park. There is a kid area with jumpers and an inflatable slide. The kids area is free. Parking is times free and sometimes 5$. Either way not bad. You can park across the street in a dirt lot with a homeless guy for free. There is an owl family that livea in the back of the plane. Check out my photo in that. They also have a kids run where kids get to run across the field in the 6th inning. Bottom line if you are looking for a couple of hours of family fun here it is. The picture of the game is from our seats unzommed

one of funny and unique experience, especially you don't tell anyone inside your car ahead of time. Watch their reaction!!!
the grooves are in the left lane. So stay on the left lane.

It's neat, but not "go 2 hours out of your way to see it" neat. Tom Scott did a segment on this stretch of road on YouTube explaining how they messed up the measurements of the ridges, which is why the song isn't in the correct pitch.

Very cute idea I wish it was a bit longer cause we go back around every time cause the kids want more.

Whether it's out of tune or such its still a great experience! You can clearly hear what song it is supposed to be - only a 20 sec drive but still so much fun!!

It only works on one direction and it's way too short, 15 - 20 seconds tops, it should state the optimal speed one should drive at.
Pablo Moysam — Google review
We were in the area to see the California poppies and we stumbled in this road. The road is not that long but the kids enjoyed it. We went around 3 times. It was a good experience. We were all smiling when we passed thru the road. I recommend visiting this when you're at the area.

If I was an engineer and worked for the city I would add these throughout all the roads in our cities. Something as simple and silly as this put a huge smile on my face. I can only imagine how cheerful this would be if more drivers could experience this in the city. Maybe road rage would lessen and people would be excited to drive. Originally this was carved into the road for a car commercial. Glad it stayed.
T H — Google review
An instant hit for a car full of kids who all looked up from their devices and then wanted to do it again. I guess it is out of tune, but you can easily tell what the song is. Probably not going very far out of our way to get here, but fun when we are driving through.

Opened in 1980, this nature preserve for desert tortoises includes a visitor center & guided trails.
Really unique park with the opportunity to see desert tortoises! I stopped for a hike in the summer while nearby for work, but it was too hot for the tortoises. I saw loads of burrows and other critters and plants, though.
The drive out is a bit rough, but doable without off-road capability if you take it slow. Be prepared to spend a few hours exploring and bring lots of water! I hiked around 5 miles in the park and enjoyed sunset on the drive out. The main trail, plant, and animal loop trails all have brochures and stops that nicely curate the hikes.

The entrance to this place off the highway is completely trashed on the way to the research facility 😔😔😕 planning on coming back to clean up the area right off the highway on the road to the area.

A beautiful desert preserve for the desert tortoise! We saw nests but the weather was not turtle weather, not good people weather either. A great place we plan on returning later in the year to a more active time for the 🐢!😎❤️👍

I had a lovely talk with Caroline, one of the naturalists. I did not see any tortoises but did find a gopher snake, a whiptail lizard and caught a glimpse of a another that was too fast to ID. The trails are easy to navigate. You just have to understand that the tortoises are wild animals and may or may not be outside their burrows. If it's too hot, they'll undoubtedly be in their burrows and unlikely to show themselves. Your best chance is either as soon as they open in the morning or just before they close, once it starts to cool down. There is plenty to see and appreciate even if you aren't lucky enough to see a tortoise.

Very cool place. Didn't see any tortoises but will be back when they come out of hibernation in March.

We were in the area (I'm being gracious, there are few reasons for tourists to visit California City IMO :-) in early June, on day 2 of a 3 day heat wave. I did my research and didn't expect anyone to be at this Natural Area as the season was closed, the tortoises are staying out of the heat. Still, a fun visit. The sandy roads were fine but I wouldn't wander off on some less traveled roads.
Dave Wiltzius — Google review
Plan a couple of hours here, the dirt roads in are long and it will take some time to find a turtle if you are lucky enough to do so. We spent about 2 hours total off-road. Provided you follow the right roads(or at least don't stop in the loose sand), it's all passable by car.
Several miles in there's an interpretive center (in a trailer) staffed until 5pm daily, nice folks. She gave us tips on where to find a tortoise and a flip reference chart to identify other local plants, animals and hiding places too.
We walked the trails and saw plenty of nature; a snake chasing a lizard, a turtle burrow of good size that appeared empty and loads of fluorescent colored caterpillars. No turtle. We looked and looked.
After thanking the staff member and getting in our car, Google maps suggested we return by Washburn Road, a trail that looked... less passable than the first nicely groomed wide dirt roads. We followed it because, why not right, and after some fun times slipping and sliding in uncomfortably loose sand (for a car) we came upon a "rock in the road". Finally! We found a turtle on our way out.
So, don't count on seeing a turtle. But don't give up looking! And always watch out for "rocks". The trail less followed on our way out got us a glance at a turtle, and certainly these guys are a sight to see in their natural environment.
Note on other location a turtle was spotted: Right outside Kelso Depot in Mojave National Park. Big guy going after a flower cactus on a nice cool day!

It’s a nice area, I didn’t see any tortoises, I think it was too hot for them to be out. I saw a couple of different lizards though. They have a restroom and some trails, careful though, thought I heard a rattle snake, it is pretty wild open desert. Attached are some pics I took.
Brian Wangenheim — Google review
Seems all the roads leading there is very sandy and I was disappointed to find no tortoises but saw a bizarre whitish phantom like lizard moving across the trail like a ghost! It has horned head but incredibly white that blurs as it darts left and right.

It was a nice find in the middle of the desert Tina provided so much information regarding the trails and what you should look out for. Also, the information trailer had some amazing information and turtle shells. But we did find a turtle in desert at the end. ( 😉😂 we bought it in the information trailer)
Had such an amazing time the staff was friendly we went on a Saturday and it wasn’t as full as I expected , we got to see the tiger and the black jaguar have a little snack it was nice will definitely go back again

Love this place. I like that they stand for something and aren't just exploiting animals for money!
Kane Martin — Google review
We went on an incredibly hot day, at around 2pm. Understandably, most of the cats were in their hides, but the staff here was absolutely amazing. One took us around to each cage and told us about the specific cat inside. It was obvious the volunteers and staff care greatly about these animals, as they were able to tell us the age, history, and personality of each individual cat! The enclosures were also amazing. Very clean, roomy, and had a lot of surfaces for the cats to climb and lounge on. Most had pools and some even had moving water! Cats were either kept alone, or with their parent to prevent territorial disputes.
All in all, this is an incredibly well-planned and well taken care of place for big cats. They put the needs of the cats above all else. If you wish to support a great facility, and maybe also see some big kitties, definitely visit.
State nature reserve within the Mojave Desert has 8-mile hikes & a wildflower season March to May.
The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is a wonderful destination this time of year. The flowers, chiefly among them the California Poppy, are in bloom. The California Poppy is the state flower. Though not as plentiful as other years during a super bloom, there were still large patches of the wild growing flower, which made for a sight to behold, and lots of great pictures. Many people parked along Lancaster Road for free, we decided to wait in line to park in the lot, and paid the $10. It is important to note that while in the park you need to stay on the trails, so by parking on the street people ventured off to stand among the flowers. I think it is important to be careful of the land, but it is really neat to be surrounded by the golden flowers. The trails in the park are fairly easy to travel, though some sections were a little steep. The use of a stroller may be possible especially on some of the paved paths. There a lot of restrictions including: No dogs (unless a service animal), do not pick the flowers, no drones, eat only at the picnic area, no bikes. For more information check the parks website. The advice I would share is to be prepared for the wind, drink plenty of water, and lookout for rattlesnakes, as we did see one.

It wasn't "super bloomed" on this Easter Sunday but it was picturesque and there are lots of paths to walk through. Some areas had better pockets of poppies that made for better photos when close up.
Saw a bunch of little lizards, no snakes. And bugs, so bring bug spray along with sunscreen and water of course.
If you want to save the $10 entrance fee, there are really great viewing areas along the street before the preserve that had bright patches of poppies. Many people were doing that.

I went here for the first time and we liked it. We loved that the trails lead you back and no chance to get lost. Though cold, there are flowers especially on the side that does not have much wind. It’s beautiful. Fresh air. Greatfull to experience nature.

I have wanted to visit the reserve for many years now, and it didn't disappoint. The poppies were in bloom, carpets of flowers everywhere. Truly beautiful. I hiked all of the trails, north and south. There's paid parking, restrooms and a visitor center. It can be very, very busy on weekends during the blooming season, but well worth the visit.
Mick Calarco — Google review
Incredible hiking trails full of all of the wild flowers you could imagine this year! We got there at 730am and the park was already busy. $10 to get in and worth it in every way. Definitely stay on the trails as to not damage the flowers or disturb any wildlife.
Emisis — Google review
There's no puppies this year but if you love nature you still enjoy visiting this park. You will be amazed by the variety of other flowers you will see. The tiny tiny chamomile gives the hills that vibrant yellow color that you will love.
Estela Hernandez — Google review
Beautiful park. We went in February end and there were no poppies and the visitor center was closed too. I heard it opens in March and the flowers start blooming in late March. So, don’t visit before that for watching poppies. But now is a great time to do hikes and watch all the scenic hill tops
$10 to park

An amazing place for a date. Nice scenic drive, beautiful rolling hills and gorgeous flowers! 10/10 fully recommend.
There are a LOT of bugs so I would bring bug spray. Also plenty of hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult, so if you are into hiking definitely bring hiking gear.

We flew in all the way from Washington to see the poppy fields. When we got to the reserve, we didn’t see any poppies, but there were poppies blooming out side the reserve. If you go east on Lancaster road, about a mile away from the reserve, you will see an unmarked open parking on the right. You won’t see any poppies from the parking area, but if you follow the trail after you park and keep walking south toward the valley you will see a huge field of poppies and some pink flowers blooming all over the valley. It was an unforgettable sight! There are also other poppy fields that you will see along Lancaster road if you keep driving east, but the poppy fields that hidden in valley is the best and the most picturesque!! P.S poppy fields and valley has no shade, so make sure to wear a hat or put on a lot of sun screen and bring enough water.

Poppy's were not in complete bloom but absolutely beautiful to see the hills colored in yellow and orange. Highly recommend stopping by and doing the walk around the reserve. The staff is incredibly friendly and plus we even caught some of the eclipse there

I overall enjoyed this place. The hikes were not very long. The incline was about 2% grade. Now to see the poppies in Bloom, it would depend on the weather. The poppies are sensitive. When I went, just before Spring, in late March, It had rained a lot causing the poppies too Suffer, due to lack of oxygen. So, as a warning look on their live webcam first or ask the ranger station if you can get a live person and ask them the conditions. The staff mini ATV vehicles riding around, but they seem to have missed many holes on the pathway that need filling in regularly. Good luck. 🙌🏼😅👍🏼🌅

No poppies and not the friendliest bunch. We did have our dog with us and were told she couldn't leave the parking area, so we weren't able to even use the picnic area because it was up a trail away from parking. So we tailgated in the parking lot and a delightful volunteer told us just be sure you don't leave a mess. So trip was more a super-bust than a superbloom.

April 2024 is supposed to be fully bloomed season for poppy but they didn’t get this year. Please check before visiting this place.

First went here to watch the superbloom in 2023, and I was MIND BLOWN. Not just because of the flowers but because of the miles and miles of undulating hills, clean air and tranquility. You HAVE to visit, be it during spring when the flowers are in bloom or any other time of year!
Aadya Chidanand — Google review
I think last time we were there was more poppies but this time because of the rain or cold weather was not that much poppies that we expected, but other than that was a nice experience! Try to go afternoon around sunset to see the sunset and skip the traffic! The bathrooms were so dirty, try not to go. The parking is $10, which you can park of the road and walk up there if you can, in overall was nice!
Super cool airport! But everything around the airport is a ghost town!

Mojave airport has so much history and now is the center for spaceport and Virgin Galactic.
With progress comes expansion. MD Concrete assigned to tear out all the old concrete pads on the northeast section of the airport, those pads have probably been there since WW-2. Future expansion is coming.

I had my spring servicing for my ac . Normally I have to ask about cleaning my condensers coils and they usually they spray 1 side of the ac condensers. This time I ha a ac service technician, I did ask before he started to start if he was going to clean the condensers he said yes and proceeded to do a thorough job as using a cleaning solvent and cleaned both sides. Best service I have ever had . Most won't clean unless asked and then only use a hose and no solvent. Technicians name is DeShawn
Thanks 😊

When driving the highway we saw this bunch of planes and I thought we could stop over and get some pics.
You can't really get close to it.
And don't think it's a museum. Their website says it is but only as a virtual museum. Not much there either, it's more like a non profit, asking for donations and they do some fundraising events.
The pics here I posted is what you can get up close but that's it. It may not be worth of your time unless time is not a concern.

There are 3 planes on static display. Really not worth driving all the way out there for that. Wouldn't call this a museum at all.more like a parking lot for 3 old planes

Great cafe! Being a former military base during WWII it has multiple runways with plenty of length and is overall one of my local favorites
27,000-acre park with cliffs, buttes & canyons popular for hiking, camping & horseback riding.
A definite must see if you enjoy desert scenery, national parks, hiking or just want to go somewhere new. They have a visitor center with a gift shop, day use and even camping. There are trails you can hike as well near by which take you back into some beautiful rocks formations. It reminds me of a miniature grand canyon. Plus there are plenty of crevices in the rock formations you can go in and explore.

Rocks were definitely red! In all seriousness though, this place was quiet, and definitely worth the drive. It was pretty hot so we didn't hike far, but the landscape and rocks are totally awesome to see as someone who's never been to any kind of desert before! I will note, the visitors centre was closed even though the hours on the door were listed as it being open, but they had maps you could take for free so we were able to find our way around fine. Also, they had nice off-roading trails as well. Nice place!

It was more than a 2hrs drive for me to get to but I went on Christmas day and there were very little traffic. I went hiking with my dog and it was a pleasant day to do so. I was only hiking at the entrance area because dogs are not allowed on trails. Didn't drive further into where the camp ground was. I got there late in the afternoon so the sun was about to set. It's worth stopping by.

Can you believe it? All of what we see now used to be under water, the entire area was at the bottom of a massive lake millions of years ago! We passed through Red Rock Canyon on our way to Mammoth lake. Not gonna lie, I wanted to come when we were on our way back from Death Valley a couple of months ago, but we didn't have enough time to stop by. So, I feel like I had to plan for a visit this time, and luckily, it turned out amazing. The camel rock reminds me of Cappadocia in Turkey, and the Turk's turban rock looks even more beautiful in person. We didn't have time to check out window rock this time, but I feel like Red Rock Canyon would be a great destination for RV camping and stargazing. How lucky we have such an amazing place in Cali, and it's only less than 3 hours away from LA!

Amazing geology, beautiful painted desert! You can drive and park right next to the rock formations, so family members who can't really hike will enjoy this spot. It's part of my favorite day-trip loop with family and friends. I take some folks in my Jeep, driving from Tehachapi - Bakersfield - Kern River Canyon - Lake Isabella - Red Rock Park - and end at the Windmills by California City. If you time it right, you can get the color of Red Rock just as the sun sets, then the windmills just after sunset. These photos of Red Rock are just before sunset, and a wildfire haze made a surreal pinkish hue in the sky.

Nightmare Gulch Loop Trail - it’s 9 miles hiking course. There is no restroom. You may have to find out how you can void. You will see two directions at the beginning of trail. If you choose right side, you will face to long slope after walking 4 miles. It’s not that hard but hard. If you don’t like it, turn left. It’s great trail. You may feel walking on the other planet. Little scare cuz you may not meet people while hiking.

Amazing red rock formation. If you drive through I-14, stop for a moment for this park, you will not be regret. There is no park entry to collect fee, you pay for your stay at visitor center. Red Cliffs Natural Area is on the other side of the I-14. Avoid afternoon as those amazing rocks will be in shadow, not good for pictures

I recently visited Red Rock Canyon State Park in California and was blown away by the stunning red hills that dominate the landscape. The colors are so rich and vibrant, it's truly a unique sight to see. The best part is that the parking lot is conveniently located close to the actual trail, making it easy to enjoy a day trip from Los Angeles. Absolutely gorgeous views, I was in love with this place! A very nice drive, with numerous areas to stop. It can get a little "touristy" in certain areas, but we were able to walk further in and find private areas to relax. Fair warning though - I can't tell you how many people (including ourselves) were under dressed and freezing. 🤣 I think we all assumed being so close to Vegas/the dessert that it would be hot. It can get very hot, but definitely check the weather before you go!

I decided to book the 5 day „Pacific Crest“ trail ride for experienced riders – and it turned out to be one of the best trail rides I ever did.
What is really important to me when booking such holidays is that the owners are real „horsemen“ and take good care of their horses. They did not disappoint me.
One thing you need to know upfront: Most of the rides are for truly experienced trail riders. Which is great if you do have this experience, because it´s no „nose-to-tail“ and therefore not suitable for beginners. I think they do offer beginners lessions on their farm as well. My suggestion is: Do yourself a favor and be honest to yourself in terms of your riding capabilities.
The horses:
Most of the horses are Mustangs, many of them born in the wild and domesticated later. They are extremely sure-footed and reliable, smart and very „rideable“.
They live in huge pastures in a big Group. On the first day, you spend some good time with them before going onto a trail – which is very good for building up some initial trust and understanding between rider and horse.
The rides:
We decided to ride in the early mornings, returning around lunch time. The afternoons were far too hot to continue riding - which allowed to spend some free time on the farm or in the L.A. area for the humans and some recovery for the horses.
Daniela doesn´t take the same trails every day, but also loads the horses onto her truck and drives to trails further away, which is nice in terms of variety of rides. It´s a very nice mixture of mountain climbing, tiny paths through bushes, nice trotts and canters.
The location:
The rooms are spacious and due to the remote location of the farm very quiet.
Beds are super comfortable, the shared kitchen and bathroom is equiped with everything needed.
They do also offer Quad-Tours etc. for non-riders.
The hosts:
Daniela is a German living in the US since many years, so you can communicate in german if you like / need to and of course in english.
She is very interested in getting a good connection to the guests, but absolutely respecting your privacy / relaxation time if you need it.
It might not be the cheapest offer you can get in this area – but to me, the good care for the horses (and for us 😊) were definitely worth the price.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I can’t say enough about Daniela, her horses, and the experience out in the trails. The bond that Daniela has with her horses is incredible, and her horses treat her and all visitors so well in return. I went on the Full day ride, and it was truly unforgettable. I live nearby in Los Angeles, and had the option to sleep at the property or commute to the barn the morning of the ride. I chose the latter, and it was very easy to find the stables in the morning. I met Daniela at the barn, we met the horse I would ride (Pia) to get to know each other and develop a bond with that horse (this I really appreciated and made me feel very safe!). Daniela tacked up Pia, talked me through how Pia is to ride, and we took Pia into the arena to get to know her and warm up with walk/trot (note: I have many years of riding experience, and ride regularly). Daniela tackle up her horse, and we took to the trails. We rode for hours and had SO MUCH FUN!! The trails were technical and for intermediate/experienced riders. The horses are so safe. I can’t say enough about how kind/friendly Daniela is, and can’t recommend this experience enough. Safe to say, I will be back soon!! :D

I did the Burnt Peak ride and absolutely loved it. I went in December so it was a little cold and windy but Daniela made sure I had warm clothes so I was comfortable. She takes the time to make sure you feel safe and comfortable with your horse before going out on the trails. You can tell that she takes very good care of her horses and trains them very well. I would love to go back some day!
Old-school depot offering exhibits on trains, a working signal garden, play area, gift shop & tours.
Nice, donation based, Museum. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Our docent showed us around, answered questions, and then left us to explore on our own. There is a nice area outside where you can sit and watch the trains go by. Make sure you hear the story about how the depot burned down. The story really shows how committed the Tehachapi community is to saving their history.

A fantastic visit. This is quite a small museum, but it packs a number of interesting artifacts and is completely free. But the stars are the volunteers. I spent the best part of an hour there just chatting to them, sharing and contrasting the US and UK rail systems.
If you've an hour free, it's not too far from the LA to San Francisco freeway. Divert, have a look around and a chat, leave a donation if you can and then visit the Tehachapi loop viewpoint.

Very fun place to see! Guids were very nice and informative. If you're a Railroad enthusiast, this the place to check out. There is no admissions fee. Plz leave donation to help with the preservation of this historical treasure.
Then drive 10 mi down the road to check out the Tehachapi loop. If the train comes by the station and your fast you can get on the 58 west bound and make it to the observation point and watch the train come thru the loop!

The Tehachapi Depot Museum is a really neat exhibit full of historical curiosities. They have some nice antique pieces of railway equipment and adjacent items like old luggage, etc. I liked that they display a piece of train track that had melted under extreme duress. They also have preserved news clippings and other literature for your viewing.
The staff is very pleasant here, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I like that the museum is situated directly next to the actual operational railway, that there is a railroad-themed playground next door, and that a great sandwich deli and bakery, Kohnen’s, is only a hundred feet away.

Great little pet shop. Really sweet and friendly staff, helpful and knowledgeable about their stock. They weren't just trying to sell something. They wanted to help me find what I needed, which was cat food without any byproducts, with high quality protein and vegetables, without corn meal, low in starches. Not an easy task. And they let me take a few samples home, to see which ones my cat might prefer before buying an expensive bag of food. Yes, all high quality pet food is expensive and this shop is fairly competitive. They also have other supplies, toys, collars, tags, grooming tools, pet beds. It's enjoyable to just browse through their handmade cat toys and treats.

Our dog was sprayed by a skunk late Friday night we headed to canine creek Saturday morning and the young lady working at the counter was amazing and so knowledgeable she mixed up a skunk shampoo , conditioner and a tear free face wash for our dog which worked amazingly !! She even showed us a product we could get to have on hand just in case ! Thank you for all of your help I’m
Sorry I didn’t catch your name but you have great customer service for people and pets 💗

Everyone here is super nice, but the prices for self wash are very high. $25 for a single self wash. Tractor Supply charges $9 and the place I used before I moved here charged $10 or 5 washes for $25.

Nice little shop tucked in the heart of tehachapi. Good selection of food, treats, and toys for your dog. The dog wash station looks like something I'll be using in the future. Friendly staff

I always love taking my pets here to use the self serve dog wash and get their nails trimmed. This time I took a stray I found at a truck stop then bought a bandana for her. We weren’t sure if she had been dumped so I took about 2 hours getting her all cleaned up so she would be adoptable. She turned out beautiful and with the help of social media, we found her owners. ❤️

UPDATE: I cannot say enough good things about this place! On top of the good prices, nice staff, and self-serve dog wash, they also have great groomers! I felt no judgement from any of the staff when I was overprotective of my dog (because of a recent bad experience at a different groomer). Not only were they nice about my dog's issue, but also very accommodating. Definitely Recommend this place, no matter what you are looking for!
2019 Review: Super helpful staff. Awesome self-serve dog wash!! The prices are actually reasonable--most pet boutiques charge way more than normal places, but here it is very affordable. We will keep coming back even though we live 45min away!

Wonderful staff! So kind and helpful. Good selection of pet food!
Came here in 2017 with our kids, and returned without them today. Google it to be amazed before actually seeing it. We were fortunate to arrive on a clear day, and right as a train was approaching. It's cool to see the engine windings the train around the mountain so many times, and see the caboose spiraling along! It's a short stop off the highway.

This is an engineering marval and train enthusiasts would enjoy. I have NOT been to the Loop, however, I did watch several videos that is available and it would be added to my bucket list!!

Fort Tejon State Historic Park
Park
Nature & Parks
An 1850s fort that now offers static & living history exhibits, plus 400-year-old oak trees.
1st time coming here and we are greeted by two young deers. It was a beautiful blue sky buy super windy and it was cold. I love this place its beautiful. We will come back again to do some hiking.
Shash Khan — Google review
Fort Tejon State Historic Park is a nice smaller park to visit if traveling on Hwy 5. The park is located right off of the freeway and is easily accessible and is great as a pit stop before going into the valley or continuing towards LA. There is a $6 parking fee to visit the park, and the whole park and be toured in an hour or even a half hour due to its smaller size. It is fantastic in the fall as the valley oak trees change colors and begin to lose their leaves. There are a few historic building, and exhibits inside each that share the history of the location and what life was like in the past.

Pretty neat historical spot off the freeway. Nice to walk around, it’s small, pet friendly and has some picnic tables. 6$ for parking
DC — Google review
I wish I had more time to explore this state park more fully... it certainly warrants an hour at least. Definitely, this is a good chance to get off the I5, go for a walk, and learn a bit about the local history with authentic buildings and information plaques. It was quite desolate and empty during my visit... I would think it would have a more lively feel at other times. At any rate, I am glad for the short time I had here.
Wong Family — Google review
Just a cool historical place to visit. I didn't have much time but to merely take a couple of pics. 6 bucks to enter and spend time.
Knute P — Google review
As you head into LA, stop for a while, step back in time and stretch your car cramped legs. See life thru the eye of soldiers at the Fort, enjoy the mighty oaks, and quietly listen to the woodpeckers collecting acorns.
Abe Achkinazi — Google review
Nice quiet place to stop on your drive. When we visited, it was very empty but overall it was nice to walk around and read/see the displays. Easy access from highway 5 and plenty of parking and restrooms available.

This place is really amazing. Great walk and great, yet sad, history. The old really old oaks always make it better.

Pro: Nice museum room with a hard story. Good exhibits in different buildings with authentic-looking costumes and items. Great photo ops near the end of a sunny day. Easy parking and walking. Picnic tables. Cons: Buildings are open 8-4, in our case yesterday, the one we were walking to closed before 4:00. Park is open “sunrise to sunset”, but they count sunset as when the sun passes behind the mountain. Two clean bathrooms, handicap accessible, but no water to sink (freeze issues?).
Dayna Crow — Google review
I must have driven by the Fort 50 times on I-5 before I finally stopped by to check it out and I am glad I did. It was so peaceful on a weekday next to a running creek. There was only one other visitor. There's a small museum which was highly informative. I highly recommend stopping at this historic Fort.
Paul Maki — Google review
They were closing when we arrived but we were still able to walk the grounds. Beautiful scenery! Will check hours next time so we can go inside the house and other buildings. They seem very well preserved. Well taken care of.

I visited Fort Tejon coming back into Los Angeles and what an awesome quick stop to enjoy the history, nature and beauty of this area. There’s picnic tables to enjoy a quick lunch as you’re traveling. I love these these side road attractions that allow you to take in the history of the state. If you’re on I5 and coming through the Tejon pass then take an extra 15 out of your commute and visit. It’s worth the stop! Happy travels!
Casualwear chain featuring trendy fashions for men, women & children, plus home-decor items.
Good selection of stores.

Wonderful bathrooms including a place to put your shipping bags while using toilet.
Family bathroom area, too.

The outlet has many shops for clothing, art, pottery barn etc... good place to stop on the way to LA or back. During the day the foot traffic was less. Has clean bathrooms. Liked the art gallery very much which featured artists from all around California. A bit pricey though

SO worth the drive. You’ll find deals all over!
The bathrooms are very clean and they have a cool rack behind and above the toilet to put your bags or purse in.
There’s plenty of resting benches if you need a little break from all your shopping. Hehe.
Everything looks so nice and clean.
My husband, baby and I had a blast! 😊
Crystal Mosley — Google review
There's a Car Show at the parking lot and that was fun. First time seeing this much Tesla Charger. I love shopping here. Nice stuff and great deals. Also have Clean Restroom but the Food Court was closed and there's only Tony's Pizza and Subway. Wish they have more Restaurant.
Shash Khan — Google review
Nice pitstop on the way to or from North CA. Not a huge selection of places to shop but enough to keep you busy. Food court was closed but still plenty of food places. Only 2 restrooms, one on each end of the outlet so they were crowded and quite a walk. There is an third restroom in the food court in the center but that was closed. Prices were average. Parking lot was huge. You can easily park an RV or trailer out on the edges. Starbucks and fast food are located nearby so you can eat elsewhere if you did not want to shop. We visited on a busy Thanksgiving weekend. The lot was set up to control traffic and parking and it was very efficient and effective. Driving in and out were a breeze and not frustrating on a busy weekend. It was well done.
James Duldulao — Google review
Decent sized outlets with quite a few stores. There’s the usual suspects brands that you will find across. Nothing crazy or out of the world deals but it’s a good enough location that’s accessible to folks from Bakersfield and the ones driving up to LA. Not many food courts in the outlet but there’s some restaurants around the corner and across the free way.
Gautam — Google review
It is located right of the freeway. Lots of free parking available. Entrance is wheelchair accessible. Clean restrooms and lots of shops to choose from.
Don Frasco — Google review
Found this place right off the highway and it was a nice place to stretch my legs, do a little shopping, and people watch for a little while. I'd say if you need these things on a long road trip, this is a good place to stop in at. The area seems well maintained and there were enough people walking back and forth that this small is very much alive. The men's room was kept clean which is a rare and pleasant surprise for a mall. They have most of the big name brand stores, so if you're looking to do some holiday shopping you could do worse than this place.
Zach Roper — Google review
Great stores, clean environment. I prefer driving from Bakersfield to the outlets instead of going to the mall in town. I do wish there were more food choices, but the area across the street nearby has a lot to choose from.
Heather Hash — Google review
The Outlets at Tejon offers a clean and inviting outdoor shopping experience, complete with a basic yet satisfying variety of stores. Its open-air setting is a breath of fresh air for shoppers tired of the traditional mall atmosphere. However, the mall does fall short when it comes to restroom cleanliness, an area that could use some attention. Additionally, the layout is quite spread out, requiring a good amount of walking to get from one end to the other. Conveniently, it also includes a supercharging station for electric vehicles, making it a practical stop for more than just shopping. Overall, a solid 4/5 experience.
Griffin R — Google review
Le Creuset was so much fun. A big thank you to Dana for helping me (4/3/24). The Outlets were great, very clean throughout and Jake’s Pizza was tasty. Will definitely return. So curious what they will do with the old food court.

Comfortable place to shop, very clean, lots of clean restrooms and places to rest and eat. Shaded pathways which very healthy. Went to several shops… had a very good discount on a diamond ring for my wife at Kevin’s Jewelry store, Irene and all the staff were very professional and helpful providing all the information that we needed. I always go to Kevin’s jewelry store to buy good things but it’s my first time at the tejon branch, usually I get my good stuff in the Valley Mall plaza on Ming Ave., but both gives good deals for the blings and rolexes. Also had fun at the Levi’s store lots of items with BOGO and more good deals. Had a delicious pizza at Tony’s pizza to re energize with our shopping. Our furry baby chihuahua was always welcomed in all the shops and he enjoyed walking on the clean shaded pavement. There are lot of parking areas and we parked at the shaded parking area. Had a fun day in this place, worth the trip with lots of discounts and good deals…..and pizza❤️

An awesome adventure towards the location, worth the drive. Shaun (sorry if I miss spell your name) was accommodating and informative. A must visit if you drive out to Lake Isabella. Pet friendly!!! It was $20 two adults and one child of age 10 was charged. Our 4 year old was free. The location has a gift shop with a good selection of artisan crafts and gifts.

Super cool place to check out if you are out by the Kern River little shops with really cool unique antiques to buy. To visit the ghost town itself was $7.50 fee to help with the up keep on everything definitely worth it. Shops are free to look through. A must see!!

I grew up here and always wanted to stop by. I had the pleasure of taking my family of six there a few weeks ago and it was everything I ever wanted, small and intriguing. The tour guide will give you a run down of the history and then let you tour the little town. Lots of fun photo ops. A few jumps tehee. We loved the guest book!

Interesting site, cool location, but it isn't around much, but a quick walkthrough type place if you're staying in the area. Would've been nice if more effort was put into the upkeep, printed signage was faded to the point of being illegible, lots of boarded up buildings, interiors totally falling apart. Has a antique shop in the front of the property, all in all a pretty small place. Not great for little kids, can be dangerous.
Adeline Thompson — Google review
Small place with a collection of over 100 years old structures and antiques store. It gives you a pic into the history of the towns surrounding this area. It's a cool, small attraction.

This place is pretty cool. It is small and compact so you can view the whole place in under an hour. Plenty of history to be seen here. The gentleman who takes the admission fee is very friendly and offers a brief historic overview of the place.

Went here on a whim but it’s definitely a cute place to stop at . They have a ghost town museum in the back . It cost $7.50 to tour the museum and children 5 and under are free

A great little stop! As far as history goes they are very knowledgeable and have blurbs about each of the structures past and relevance. It took us about an hour to fully appreciate it so if your just driving through I would give this place a try.
Also adorable little antique shop with a large selection of old post cards!

we got unprecedented access and got to sleep on the grounds over night, Sean is the owner and he was so cool he bought in a paranormal activity specialist who told real life stories and was up all night showing us how to use some of his ghosts finding equipment. night or day you should come by Silver City Ghost Town

Really small and cosy "Ghost Town". Basicly it is a collection of 20 old houses from the area put in place as it looks like a ghost town. Small Entrance fee. I liked it. Oh and you cannot buy the cat, it is a part of the family 😉

Awesome experience! Its not a theme park so don't expect to spend hours there but it's a great day trip and a blast for anyone who's into history. Me and my girls had a great time there today. Winds and dust started kicking up a bit while we were there but I think it wonderfully added an extra dose to the theme for sure :) Guess we picked a good day. The host was super knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely go back to visit. Check it out, it wont disappoint.

Amazing little place to explore! Not all of the buildings are original to the location but all come from 7 miles away at most. The decor inside the buildings is awesome and I loved being able to go into the jail. I only wish they had more gold rush related items in the antique store.
What a lovely place! An oasis of colour and comfort. This family farm shop and pick your own is a joy to visit. The planting is a great mix of English garden l/Park and tropical. We couldn't believe our eyes as we were looking for a stop on a long journey and this place was beautiful and refreshing. The outdoor seating was shady and it was fun watching the birds. 10/10 to the owners. Happy place with happy staff

Was hungry & saw this place just before we passed the exit. The other farm type place we had stopped at they wanted $13 for the yogurt parfait. $4 here! Fresh empanadas, the peach was the tastiest I’ve ever had. Got some honey with comb, even the fudge was a great price. & you can dine in the pretty courtyard. Loaded up for our trip, legendary frog balls 😂, cucumber chips. Great staff, thank you!

It's a really great place to stop and get food. Fresh fruit and some damn good meat pies!! They're delicious!! Loved it. The only thing is that the restrooms are filthy and smell awful. I've stopped here several times, and they're gross. But, other than that, it's a nice place!
Leonor R. — Google review
Great place to stop outside of Bakersfield. They have a cute indoor produce stand with a large variety of fruits and some veggies. The cherries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Homemade pies in variety of flavors and sizes, fresh popcorn and a large area of pickled items, jams, sauces and honey (the cactus honey is amazing)! There is also a small deli area where you can get some hot sides or a sandwich. Seating outside on the patio or garden area to eat. They offer a u-pick, but I did not check that out. They also offer fuel pumps with both gas and diesel. If you need to fuel up, stretch your legs, grab some fresh produce or a bite to eat, this is your stop! The customer service is friendly and everything was clean!

Great spot to stop by. Food was a bit overpriced but definitely worth it for the experience if you're driving by. They have a very interesting blueberry pulled pork that everyone should try.
Andi Lim — Google review
This was our first time here and we loved it! I took so many pictures in front of beautiful flowers. For Mother’s Day I got in for free. While being there they had a cherry pie eating contest and the pie was amazing! I also had a BBQ blueberry brisket pie and wow, it was soooo good. There were kid activities like slides a big air filled bouncer, animals and more. My kids had a blast. My favorite part was picking the fruits, the fresh picked berries are to die for. Unfortunately we were pretty occupied so I didn’t get pictures of the strawberries. If you’re considering going, just do it, you won’t regret it!

Such a fun spot for spooky season! We went a couple of hours before close on a Friday and the crowd levels were almost nonexistent. The price of admission comes with 1 pumpkin each, which I loved. We could’ve spent so much more time exploring, but we were running out of time before they closed. We’ll definitely be back before the season is over!

I was so excited when I saw a big red barn with my hometown name on it. I am from Murray Kentucky so I had to stop when I saw this place in Bakersfield California. It took me back home walking in, I bought 3 okie pies that were absolutely delicious!!! I could have ate all three if I hadn't bought one for my mama and Gigi. The orange honey is the bees knees...his hands and his elbows and the blackberry butter is gonna be spread on every piece of bread in the house. Y'all gotta stop in and support the local shop.

Cute little spot for fall activities, even as an adult without kids. However, unfortunately, some of the activities weren't open. Maybe because we went on a weekday? We would have really enjoyed the apple cannons and paintball range if they were open. Otherwise, you really can't beat the price since admission even includes a pumpkin.. and good ones too! Also, bonus, SUPER PRETTY SUNSETS.

My son (13) and I had an amazing time with Kern River Outfitters. It was his first time whitewater rafting and he can't stop talking about how great it was. Our guide, Julia (along with the rest of the guides), was the best. She is super friendly and very knowledgeable about rafting. I would definitely recommend Kern River Outfitters to anyone who wants to try out rafting.

We had a wonderful day with Kern River Outfitters. All of the guides were helpful, friendly, and clearly so happy about being outside and on the river. Their gear for the chilly weather was awesome (the booties and jackets were really nice). Out guide Skip was awesome with my 10-year-old kids, and we all had a great time! Highly recommend.

Great trip for first timers! Guides were knowledgeable and fun. They took the time to educate us first before our trip. Isaac was an awesome leader. Man! It was a true privilege to run Forks of the Kern. Stunningly beautiful canyon with raucous rapids that’ll keep you on your toes. At camp and on the water the guides were a *solid* and well-oiled machine. They were super thorough talking us through what to expect from the upcoming segments and adapted lightning fast to sticky situations. On land, they outdid themselves with the meals and fun campfire. My family had an incredible time. Much appreciation to Jackson, Miles, old Pat, Sven and Jamie for making the trip so special. Mega thanks to the drivers, mule packers, guides, and organizers who made it all happen! And thanks to the tropical storm for bringing the extra injection of water at the end of August

My 2 sons and I went on the 130pm rafting trip. Byron was our Guide, it was just my boys and myself on the raft. He did a great job. the ride was awesome and he let my boys take turns steering the raft. We asked for him to put us on the hardest parts and he did. it was everything we hoped for. The whole crew was great. You could tell they loved what they do and enjoyed working together. Even the bus ride was fun... Thank you for giving myself and my boys a memory we will never forget.

Adam was a stellar boat captain. The whole team was to notch. Personalities and guest service beyond expectations. From the instructions given by Bailey to the cool bus ride up and down.... the perfect weather and great company... it was an amazing experience. So glad I picked this company. It was a last minute decision about 3 hours before the trip and they accommodated us so quickly. Never have gone before and now I'm ready to go again and again. Thank you to a great team! Adam, I didn't have cash and I wish I could have left you a huge tip! I'm so sorry! You deserve so much!

Had a great rafting experience. Guide was fun and friendly, very smiley dude. I was hoping for a bit more action but it was my first time in a river so it was a nice start. There were two kids in my raft of 6 plus guide. It didn’t present any issue that one did not row. None of us were especially strong accept our guide and I never felt as if any of the 6 boats on our group were ever in any danger at all.

my brother and I took my dad white water rafting for his 60th birthday and we all had the best time!! The guides were very professional and made us feel comfortable and confident that they really knew what they were doing. Plus they were so much fun, personable, and gave us some awesome recommendations for hikes. Our guide was Miles and he was the best! He really read our skill level and stoke level and made sure we had a great time. We will definitely be rafting with this company again in the future.

What an amazing day! We did the one day trip and it was so much fun. The rapids were great and the guides were awesome! Sven rocked it. He took cautious first time rafters and made rafting enthusiast. They were "riding the bull" and all in by the end of the first run. We all felt safe with Sven in charge even taking on the big ones. Overall I think the entire crew emphasize safety without scaring rafters and that made this mom very happy. This was a great adventure for my family and friends. I highly recommend Kern River Outfitters

We had a great time. Our guide was Mary from Montana. All the guides were nice and very knowledgeable. I had been rafting before but 2 others on my raft were first timers. Indeed, it was a fantastic rafting trip. We chose the half-day Upper Kern Class IV trip. This was the first time they could run the Upper Kern in over a month, and the current was perfect. It was extra splashy and a total blast! Sven was our guide; he was highly experienced, knowledgeable about the river, and so much fun. We can't wait to go back.

The trip was awesome - we got a little bit of everything on the Class IV Premium Half Day! Our Guide, “Big Water” Blair, really built up the confidence of our raft of 6 inexperienced paddlers and we made it through all 5 big rapids successfully. We got to take a dip in the river in one of the calmer sections. Even for a short trip, we got some really exciting rapids and would highly recommend this trip and KRO to anyone. On top of the fun trip, the Kern was beautiful with the trees along the river and the mountains in the background

This is what I also shared to Yelp.
We went out here for a bachelor party trip and we’re lucky enough to get Gabe aka Nick Cage aka Ashton Butcher as our River guide. If you’re somewhat of a rowdy bunch and want to get into the thick of the rapids, don’t mind getting wet and are looking for more excitement than the normal trek, Gabe (Nick Cage) is your dude. We were all really pumped on the trip. The company was very professional even before we booked our trip, upon arrival, and even with us wanting to go the extra and get kinda gnarly on the river, Gabe (Nick Cage) made sure that we all knew exactly what to expect and what to do depending on what could potentially happen next so we were all in good hands (Nick Cage) and safety was still priority #1.
I recommend doing the full day (8 hour) trip. We booked the upper Kern but due to weather got switched to the lower kern which I heard was better. The first trip through is almost like a taste test to get your bearings. We stopped for a rock jump/cliff jump which was chill and then later stopped again for a mid day break. I honestly felt kind of tired and already a little sore at that point but the deli sandwiches were solid and once we went for round two you’re already prepared for what’s to come but with slightly different conditions so our group was all about going harder the second time which really made the whole trip a blast.
(Side note) I haven’t done river rafting since high school and I’m 37 now so I’m not seasoned in doing this by any means.
Anyways the conversations during the mellow parts of the river were good, we got soaked going for it, floated down the river when it was chill and paddled hard when we were in the thick of it all thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Overall it was an absolute blast and I plan to definitely come back at least once a year to do this same trip.
I highly recommend this company. You won’t be disappointed.
HUGE THANKS Gabe (Nick Cage/Ashton Butcher) and Kern River Outfitters. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Such a great experience! Took 6 of my guys up for a bachelor party. They were very accommodating with all of the planning and a few last minute changes. Our tour guides Augie and Mary were absolutely the BEST! Made our trip fun and exciting. I’m so happy I chose Kern River Outfitters. We will definitely be going back and using them again.

My 11-year-old daughter and I did the ‘mild tour’ with some class 3’s. Felt safe, nothing too crazy. Would highly recommend and definitely do it again!

The guide leader was cool even when she got water splashed back on her on the bus (first time for her). I remember Brian and Cameron and sorry I forgot the other guides names.

We had the most amazing time! Our guilds Adam, Miles and Bailey were absolutely awesome! They were knowledgeable and so fun! We went with our teenagers and even they thought it was “SO much fun!” Double compliment from a teenager! This company made everything so easy and had the best customer service! I can’t recommend enough! We are working on planning another trip!

The California Living Museum is a combination of zoo, botanical garden and natural history museum that showcases the diverse flora and fauna found in California. With an emphasis on its zoo section, visitors can explore a reptile house that houses various species of reptiles. The animal enclosures are spacious, clean and up to date with daily enrichment activities for the animals. CALM is an enjoyable destination for everyone, including children who will surely have fun exploring the exhibits.
CALM is wonderful place to visit. Today was a my first time there and have been wanting to visit for a very long time now. The staff was really nice and welcoming. The animal enclosures where spacious, clean, up to date. They really do there best to give the animals very comfortable homes and daily enrichment. It looks like a great place for kids too but honestly anyone can enjoy this place. Highly recommend.

We joined the bears for breakfast event. It was very hot out so we did not spend a whole lot of time there. We have visited several times in the past and enjoyed the visits. Christmas time is especially fun seeing all of the light displays.

This place is always great. They're is so much to see, the animals (although they don't have a ton of room) are cared for decently. It's always clean and there is a lot of information to learn about the animals that are unable to be released back into the wild.
It isn't too big, you could visit and walk through in an hour or 2 or really spend the majority of the day here.
Unless there's a special event (like the holiday lights) I recommend packing a lunch and really taking time to learn about each of the animals, enjoy the train ride, and play at the playground.

Nice little zoo. Loving care of the animals. You are trusting and relaxed. All animals in the zoo have a disability. So running a zoo makes perfect sense. Good Place. 🦉🐦🦡🐻🦇🐆🦊

Great place to take the family. I had been here a couple of times for the Christmas lights and Halloween lights, but this was my first time coming to actually see the animals. Amazing, peaceful, and exciting place to visit. My favorite exhibit was the reptile room. Will be definitely getting a family membership

It is a small park and tends to get really hot. It is good for kids if your kids love animals. My toddler is scared of wild animals, so my visit was short... but it was still worth it as she enjoyed seeing horses, donkeys, sheep, and bears(maybe one exception)...

A very cute place to bring the kids. You can tell they care about their animals and zoo because the place is very clean and organized. Staff was great and I love that it’s small and you are able to explore and learn about every animal. I can’t wait to return with my kids again and go during the holidays I hear they have lights in the park.

Beautiful park, museum, local wild life ..... A little bit of everything . Also has kids playground and store on site . Lots of benches to sit , according to the season you'll miss some animals but in general lots are available to appreciate. Has bathrooms and in general a nice relax environment to walk around and look at animals and local flora.

Awesome small zoo with lots of exhibits.

CALM is a great little zoo and museum. It is so family friendly. You will love it. It is only closed on Monday. The prices are great, we paid 10$ per adult for the whole day.
Located in Bakersfield, which is fun, it is part of Kern County which has a lot to offer. The zoo is kept super clean and the staff is very friendly. It can get super hot in the summer so keep that in mind. It was fine the day we were there.
CALM has grown from a locals-only attraction to an international destination point. Visitors from around the world are attracted to the zoo to see a variety of endangered species and California’s native species. You will get to see animals and plenty of plant life that you will never see at some zoos.
They also have a rehab center for all manner of animals and your entrance fee helps to support that.
You can also rent the entire place. I know nothing about it. You would need to call them.
You will just have the best time at this little zoo on the hill. Have fun.

A small zoo filled with California Natives. Perfect for little ones and has a nice playground. Some areas were under construction, but that means the zoo is improving and will only get better!

Great place to take out son. He loves going to see the animals and take the train ride. We enjoy it so much we decided to get a family membership which is also a great value at 60.00 for a family membership. That's 2 adults and up to 6 children. They don't have as many animals as other larger zoos but there are a good number. They have a small aquatics area with some Jellyfish, sea horses, and clams and abalone. They have an area for small children with some donkeys, a pony and various sheep. They also have a snack shack, picnic area, playground and gift shop. We also love going during the holidays for their holiday light show, it is one of the best we have gone too and has won some awards.

We had a great experience at CALM. We saw the indoor ocean critter exhibit. Small, but the room was very nicely decorated appropriately, and the two attendants were very informative and kind. The exhibit is kid friendly. The rest of the park is very clean, the exhibits are suited to the type of inhabitants. The park was busy with families, but we had no issues at all getting around or seeing exhibits.

I mistakenly assigned the nom de plume "zoo" to the California Living Museum. It is not. It IS a living, breathing educational center, rehab establishment, wildlife hospital and research. I found myself fully immersed in this presentation and so much more fulfilled than a zombie gaping at caged wildlife waiting for a proverbial gorilla throwing up, making a pie out of the goo and fingerly scooping it up into its mouth whilst the crowd reacts with disgusting "ooooooooohhhhs!!!!" Nope, no gorillas. Why? This establishment is strictly California. Mammals, reptiles, birds, from high in the Sierras to the anemones in the tide pools. Trees, flowers and grass identified. I would venture to say it is the largest tortoise compound I have ever seen. A truly learning experience.
A couple things in addition I wish they had as I am an out of state visitor. Amphibians, insects and coastal fish, notably sharks.
Lastly, I understand they have restructured their management at this location and I found them to be highly professional, approachable and friendly. Of note, the Manager of Guest Servivces, Stephanie Juarez, who is a true gem with a contagious positive spirit.

The Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center in Bakersfield offers a wide range of entertainment options, from boxing matches to comedy shows featuring big names such as Jerry Seinfeld. The center has helped put Bakersfield on the map by attracting popular acts to the city. It's a great place for concerts and sporting events alike. Visitors should familiarize themselves with the venue layout ahead of time, as many exciting events occur here year after year.
Whether you're at a concert or at Condors game like we were last night, it's always a fun time! This place really put Bakersfield on the map by bringing big name acts to our lil ole town!! When you have the opportunity to check out one of their many scheduled events, get out there, promise you'll have a blast!

Amazing show! I'd never been to Bakersfield before [except in shackles on the prison bus], and I didn't expect such a cool city. The venue was great, the lines moved fast, and the overpriced drinks were no more overpriced than they are everywhere else. And the staff and security were cool. If it wasn't 3+ hours away from me, I'd definitely go back and see a show here again. 🍻

A smaller sized theater venue which kind of reminded me of my old high school auditorium, actually. The seats are T I N Y. Very much like old school auditoriums. The sound is good though! The views are pretty good all around I think. I was in Terrace level G at first row CC. The rails are kind of in the way, but could easily sit up to bypass them. I drove from LA up to Bakersfield for the first time to see Colter Wall and it was a great experience! The parking is easy and everyone helps easily point you the right way. Would recommend making the drive from LA to see your favorite artist or band here!

Condor games are always fun with family and friends! I’m grateful for my friends inviting me to these events, especially to check out our local team. I’ve also been to the convention center for concerts, usually parking is easily assessable. And if you’re like me and running late and have to park away from the venue there’s usually spots at a close walking distance.

Great venue! I didn't get food but it looked and smelled really good. I saw one of my favorite bands of all time, Matchbox Twenty. My seat was in the first row of the stands, just off center in front of the stage. I felt so close! I felt like I had fantastic seats for a HUGE band and they weren't that expensive. And honestly better than the floor seats unless you're front row, I couldn't stand up the whole time.

Nice & cool inside the venue, when outside the temperature was close to 100 & very humid.
The skybox was a good place to see the stage. The attendant/server Geo was awesome. he made sure we had everything we needed & there was plenty of food & drinks.
It was a plus that we did not have to wait in line in the bathroom. As there was a bathroom in the skybox.

First time here. Came to see the Bakersfield Blaze Concert with Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and a few others. Had a good time. I purchased floor seats, not really knowing what that meant. I was a little harder to see the stage, I'd definitely recommend getting seating in the upper levels just to get a better view of the stage without having to stand up. The floor seats did feel a little close together, i felt like i kept bumping into my neighbors lol. I liked that there was many restrooms, because the lines can get very long. Paid for parking so that made it super easy. Had a great time over all.
The Bakersfield Fox Theater is a classic performing arts venue that opened in 1930 and has since been restored to its former grandeur. The theater boasts an ornate interior and recognizable clock tower exterior, serving as a historic landmark with unique architecture. While the main auditorium may not be massive in size, it's sufficient for hosting various performances such as comedy acts, music concerts, and dance shows.
Love coming here. Saw Clint Black for my second time. What a great show. He jammed on the guitar and was engaging and funny. His wife and daughter were also here and they sang beautifully as well. Will be coming back in February to see wild man Steve-O 🥳

Great venue. Lots of history, and there are good reasons why. Starting with the external "Hotel California" vibe with the neon, white masonry and palm 🌴. Cool and somewhat decadent inside architectural features may have contributed to the fantastic sound. Sightlines are good and ticket prices are decent. Entry and exit were quick. Went to see Blackberry Smoke. Awesome show from the Smoke as always. Miles Miller opened. I'd go see that act again. I'd not hesitate to go see another show at the Fox.

A beautiful old-fashioned theater that was restored and refurbished with its ornately designed interior. The exterior is the familiar clock tower with "Fox" theater on the front. It's a historic landmark, the design is an architectural signature that's fairly uncommon now. Glad to see that it's been repaired and restored to its former beauty and stature. The main auditorium isn't large, but it's more than enough for current performances and shows.

The Kern County Museum boasts an array of exhibits and artifacts showcasing the region's rich history, including its indigenous peoples, pioneer era, and significant role in the oil industry. The majority of the museum is situated outdoors, with various buildings available for visitors to explore. In addition to educational signage tailored for adults, there are also many kid-friendly displays. Visitors can expect a unique and enjoyable experience at this expansive museum, which may require multiple visits to fully appreciate everything it has to offer.
My dad and I just visited and we were both very impressed. We could have easily spent many hours here, but felt that two was about right given our timing constraints. Most of the museum is outdoors, with buildings that you can peek into. They have many kid-oriented signs along with the standard adult-oriented signs.

It is more like a historical park with lots of historical buildings with old furniture moved/rebuilt there. There is also a small museum with interactive exhibits about petroleum exploration and a small kids museum. We spent around 3 hours going through everything. Kids had a great time peaking into each house to see what it looked like in the old times. We were there on a Saturday but no one was at the ticket window so we got in for free.

Their event for Halloween 🎃 this year was great! Not too long of lines to get candy, not too scary for the younger kids, tickets were five dollars each and five dollars more to get a bag for candy. No buckets allowed since they give you the bags and you have to pay per person to get candy. Most of the museums attractions were open to view and walk through. There were some vendors there for food, coffee, popcorn and tacos. They had a projector playing a Halloween 👻 movie and they had some bounce houses for the kids. Parking was a little intense but we ended up getting super lucky with a good spot. Highly recommend for next year if you want to do something other than stay in or go house to house.

I hadn't been to Pioneer Village in about 3 decades. I had a friend visiting from out of town and decided to take him there. I was delightfully surprised to see how much it has changed and grown. At least from my faint memory from elementary school! Even though he's not from Bakersfield, he also quite enjoyed the experience.
I loved the interactive displays to show how the equipment works. The transportation exhibit is really cool. I loved being able to see such a wide range of vehicles from different eras.
It was very peaceful to meander through and enjoy the park-like environment on top of seeing all of the houses and buildings.
The only "complaint" I have is that I didn't have access to quite a few of the different buildings since I was in a wheelchair. I understand limitations due to the nature of the historic nature of the buildings, but I was just a little bummed out.
Otherwise I hope to introduce more people to this lovely little haven. 😁

My husband and I came from Texas to visit family and came here for dinner. I had the chicken fried steak and it was outstandingly delicious 😋 the green beans were to die for...I know, green beans! But the biscuits and honey butter were melt in your mouth good. Our server was so nice and did a great job.
The place was so nice with lots of country music memorabilia, pics, and a live country band with dancing. A good family place to bring kids to dance.
We had a great time. I definitely enjoyed this night out.

Attended a concert with my wife. Had a delicious dinner, food was great and service excellent! Disappointed in our seating location, could not clearly enjoy watching the show. Sound was good. I have enjoyed the Crystal Palace many times since it opened. Food is always good and entertainment is usually good.

We Went There To Celebrate Our 30th Anniversary. Our Anniversary Is Back In March, But They Were Closed Then, We Also Got To See Suzy Bogguss. She Put On One Hell Of A Show, If She Ever Comes Back To Bakersfield, We Will Definitely See Her Again.

Surprised to find this venue here. Love entertainment and good food and drinks. Loved the history and the displays of Buck's life along with local celebrities and more current country singers.
Good size dance floor and live band playing older and some newer country music. Definitely worth a visit.

Enjoyed this venue very much. If you're a country music fan this place is for you! So much memorabilia all over the place. Great picture opportunities. There is not a bad seat in the house. The environment and crowd was great. Brought my teenagers to see Charlie Crockett and we all had a great time. Tickets are affordable. We did not eat as kitchen closed at 10. I would see a show here again!!

Amazing place to dine at. First time me and my wife came here and it was definitely worth it. We got to see the famous Bakersfield sign, and also loved the museum part of the restaurant. The food was heavenly, i had a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was huge, and fries. Wife got a chicken fried steak meal, with baked potato, and loved it. Started off with some onion rings, which were divine. Ended the meal with chocolate cake, and oh boy, im glad i saved room for it. This place was really amazing, live music, cool bar has a Cadillac behind it, museum to wonder around and check out, made for a fun night. Definitely will be back here again soon.
