A great place to relax and have craft beer. I get growlers to bring home all the time. They have the best variety in the area in regards to different styles of beer.
I am honestly glad the BBQ place which was there is gone, now they can bring in some more variety. I think the lack of food is holding them back. This place could be a 10 out of 5 if they put in a solid permanent food vendor.

Excellent selection of brews but unfortunately no flights. Best feature is the new outside area with a large gazebo. Food is the usual truck affair. Has a nice path by a pond and fire pits. A great place to visit on a sunny day.

I came from out of town to try this brewery as the beer had been highly recommend by local friends. Stopped in today and was sorely disapointed. Our initial interaction with the male bartender was unpleasant. He did not greet us warmly, only rolled his eyes when we asked for flights and proceeded to make us feel like we were inconveniencing him by requesting the beer. It was a very cold and unfriendly interaction, sad to say. Sat outside with our dogs, loved the location, tents we a nice addition with the rain. Unfortunately, most of our beers were warm and flat and we did no feel comfortable enough to go back inside to make this known to the bartender due to our initial interaction not going so well. I get that everyone can have a bad day but when that attitude interferes with a customer experience then I believe that it then becomes unprofessional. Also wanted to buy a few four packs to take with me but just not worth it at that point.. A little dissapointed..

I love Wolf Hollow Brewing; it's absolutely beautiful. The beer is fantastic, and the staff are amazing. There's plenty of parking, and leashed dogs are welcome.
Also family friendly, with cornhole games, a swing, and a walking trail around the beautiful property.

Knowledge staff, vast selection of beers, really nice atmosphere. Plus the food truck on site had some great snacks. Very chill rustic atmosphere. Id go back again for sure. The outdoor area has a large covered pavilion and some ne fire pits.

Such good beer! I ordered the "district 12" double IPA and it was incredible! I really recommend the place and the beer. Tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Very comfortable and clean.
Additional Tip: They also have food on-site from a little restaurant called "Two For The Road" with a menu of chicken tenders, loaded fries, etc. we tried the loaded fries! Enjoy!!!

Nice local brewery. Good people and beer, and casual place to hang out with friends and family. Dog friendly seating outside, weather permitting. Food trucks are rotated, nice variety and quality.

Came here as part of the Schenectady Ale Trail, where you get a flight at five different breweries for $40.
Good selection of beers, though pretty small pours. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors, plus live music. Enjoyed the selection of games they had that you could play.
Different food truck every day so you can get something to eat!
Megan McCourt — Google review
A fun place with great brews! We are here on a Friday night and we had live music. People were everywhere having a great time. The food truck Burger 21 was great too.

Great local spot. Delicious beers and rotating food trucks. Dog friendly outdoor patio was still open end of December and we were able to sit outside and eat and drink with our dog next to a heater.

Awesome hometown feel of a place. Great trivia. They do tons of other events weekly too. Great beer. They do food trucks which is so neat. But make sure to check website to see if they are having food truck when you go or else they only will have beer. Nice area inside but in the summer and fall they have huge outdoor patio with tons of tables, chairs, fire pits etc. Amazing family place.

Spirit filled brewery! Great atmosphere. Great beer!
Harold Fajans — Google review
The staff was so wonderful! They added wood to the fire throughout the night and brought food out to the fire pits. Loved walking the trails on the property before resting by the fire with a beer and a burger from Burger 21. Not for the faint of heart to be out for 5 hours in February, but if you're a hearty upstate New Yorker you can have a great time! There is well partitioned indoor seating if you are not as big a fan of the cold.

We drove out the day before the Eclipse to grab a couple growlers. We had a flight and ended up getting the pilsner and hefe. They have a really nice location. It was nice to sit and relax for a while. We will be back!

Fun place to hear live music! Especially Gabby Ellers. And, food trucks alternate on different day- so, there is a variety of food choices. They have beer, cider and wine. Family friendly place. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Great place!
A drive-thru African safari, a petting area & prairie dogs are highlights of this 80-acre zoo.
We stopped here on our last day of vacation and they did not disappoint! The animals were all friendly, came right up to your windows. Very well maintained. Plus the animals are in a such a great natural environment you can tell they are happy!

CASH ONLY! $20 per adult for admission and $4 for grain cups. This place was awesome! We got there at just before 10 when they opened and did the walk through first as the drive through part didn’t open until 11. We fed giraffes some grain which was amazing! Do that first! The camel stole my cup of grain right out of my hand but it was so cute. Get extra grain just in case. The drive through was great! The deer were so cute and they loved the grain. Unfortunately they also knocked it out of my hand🤣Get extra grain. There were lots of emus and they were obnoxious and pushy about getting into your car so beware! The drive through part took about 45 minutes. It is self guided. The walk through part is hilly and uneven and would be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. This was a last minute trip for us. We were in Schenectady for The Lion King show at Proctor Theater and it was an easy 45min drive up there.

Me and my two friends went to Adirondack Animal Land and had a great time. I wasn't sure of what to expect. If you buy the animal food cups, when the animals approach, hold on with both hands! My friend dropped it and got covered with the food. Lots of Camels, ostriches, llama, alpacas, deer. Zebras cannot be fed ( not sure why), a couple of very friendly donkeys, some pigs. Just be patient because the animals walk in front of cars, takes time to drive through.
Christy Wytzen — Google review
This place is incredible! My wife, son and I came here for a visit and it was a blast. Driving through the grounds and seeing all of the animals is quite the experience. This place is cash only to get in and at the gift shop. $12 per person is a great deal! Check this place out, it’s a lot of fun.
Adam G. — Google review
We went through the drive through section and got to feed and see the animals. My grandson loved it but watch the birds the stick their heads in the car and peck at the cup of food. The deer will eat of.your hand. We then went in the zoo area which is very nice with a picnic area. You can feed the caged animals in their pens. Climax is feeding the Giraffe carrots by hand. They bend their long necks over the fence to get a nibble.
Great way to spend an afternoon. They start to close up at 3pm section by section and by 4pm it closes. They also have a kiddie ride area.
Frank Punturieri — Google review
It was quite nice, a little pricy at $48 for a family of 4 in one vehicle with food for the animals extra. Beware the camels at the entrance, they'll gobble up everyone's food before you even get through the gate. Camels, emu's ostriches, guinea fowl, pigs, various deer alpacas and llamas in a short driving course. Very nice for the kids.
Trevor Grimm — Google review
We stopped here on our way to our Air BnB and really were pleasantly surprised! The walking area wasn’t huge but it was a great size for kids. And the animals all seemed happy and well cared for. The best part was the drive through safari. My kids loved having the animals stick their heads in the car, especially the camels and emus. And for a nominal fee you can purchase cups of feed to give to the animals. Just be careful, the camels like to steal cups and the emus can be relentless. There’s also a small gift shop with very reasonable prices and multiple picnic areas. Overall a fun way to pass a few hours.
Michael DeLude — Google review
My first time ever there, definitely not wheelchair or walker friendly, but still managed to be able to see everything. Absolutely love the animals. I felt like a little kid going through the drive-through safari. I absolutely loved it!
Len'a Dominy — Google review
Unexceptable enclosures for monkeys, Moscow birds, giraffes, kangaroos and various other common or exotic animals. Not nearly enough space for them to roam and as a zoologist, I can tell they are stressed. The two monkeys in a tiny enclosure with barely any space to climb or roam are attacking each other due to this, the one bit and ripped off the other ones tail. Disgusting conditions, needing to be inspected and investigated in order to change these conditions and improve them. Along with this the speakers that were supposed to play music were broken and constantly having static and screeching noises, that the animals have to endure all the time. None of the animals have enough space when there’s more than enough land unused and large areas of entertainment that are taking up space instead, make the enclosures acceptable for holding life. They live in these conditions 24/7 and it’s inhumane, as a zoologist and someone who is invested in animals well-being I am upset and will try to find ways to make sure this place gets improved. The drive through part was acceptable but regardless the conditions of the animals through the walk-through are unacceptable and disgusting, something needs to be done as soon as possible and I will be reporting to USDA.

We absolutely love this place! Bird room and all the adorable animals. The drive-through safari was incredible.
Jenn G — Google review
Lots of fun. The drive thru safari was a blast. The kids had a great time feeding the animals from the car windows. The walk through part was a bit dated but the kids (5 & 9) had a wonderful time.

Great as always with huge variety of animals lots of fun and they have changed the hay ride over to driving your own vehicle.

Love this place, used to go as a kid now I enjoy going at least once a season as an adult. Very enjoyable and relaxing and is never over crowded. Drive through is my favorite and all the animals look very healthy and happy.

Great selection of high quality local food products! I left with some steaks and produce. My wife picked out some fancy lotion by Stonewall Kitchen. They have a small counter where you can get a sandwich or baked goods, which I will have to go back and try.

Great place to go to get flowers, shop in the market, or get a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. The flower selection is vast and the prices are reasonable. The grocery selection is very good with meat, dairy, and vegetables, it is nice to see that some of the vegetables are grown right here on the farm. The cafe and bakery provides breakfast and lunch including pastries and muffins. They also have gluten-free options.
David Frank — Google review
Looks beautiful inside, they have a wide array of produce and other items. They have a bakery and deli as well. The large cookies were phenomenal and the coffee as well. The girl working at the bakery counter was AWESOME. We told her we were from out of state and looking for things to do. She went out of her way to write down a couple places for us to check out in the area. That girl deserves a raise! Wish I had gotten her name. She has short (dark?) hair and I think a septum piercing. She made our day with her kindness.

Nice farmers market that has a bit of everything.
For example large freezer full of local meat like pork and steak. Fresh vegetables, fruits lots of bottled goods like jam.
Bakery section as well.
Outside plant nursery with good selection of flora. A good stop if you are in the area.

They have such beautiful flowers at the Carrot Barn! We came out to celebrate my little sister's birthday with a delicious, rich and creamy cake. Of course, I couldn't walk away without some lovely flowers. I bought a pot of beautiful petunias to brighten up my classroom, and a pot for a friend. If ypu want some lovely flowers and a yummy snack, you can't go wrong at the Carrot Barn!

There is always something fresh to find, plants to admire, and tasty food! Today we enjoyed warm, fresh apple cider donuts and they were delicious!
We took some more donuts home, along with some apple cider, some pie, and a funky looking Blue Hubbard pumpkin.

My husband, kids and I traveled from Florida for my sons first birthday. I asked my mom to order his cake and she chose the Carrot Barn. They did a beautiful job decorating it and to be honest, it was one of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted. Chocolate and Vanilla with buttercream and absolutely delicious. I highly Recommend them for special occasion cakes, and all their desserts for that matter!

This store and products are wonderful! The prices are a little steep however. Their payment system was down so we could not purchase our items. Be mindful that this may happen on a busy day. All in all there is great customer service. I may try again in the future.

Normally I love the food. The cupcakes have been amazing. Unfortunately, the last 2 times I had them over the last few months they have been almost inedible. They have an overpowering taste of stale refrigerator air. It is more noticeable than the cupcake taste. Even worse it may be a freezer-burn type of taste with texture being hard, when they used to melt in you mouth. I live over two hours away so when I go there for me it is part of the destination. Not anymore. I have totally lost my taste for them. The prices of the food are disproportionately increased as well. I just see no reason to spend money there anymore.

Loved it. You need to go. Beautiful mountainous views and gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere. It's like flower heaven on Earth. Nice grocery store inside and cafe, bakery and deli. A little bit of everything and everything so natural and healthy for you!
Cozy cottages in a Nordic-inspired resort offering cross-country skiing, forested trails & 2 cafes.
Truly wonderful and exactly as advertised on their website. Friendly, helpful staff, well groomed and lovely trails for all levels, and nice refueling options. We had a XC ski lesson from Richard, who was calm and knowledgeable - highly recommend! We rented equipment and it was an easy process and in great condition. It’s magical and peaceful on the property. All visitors were respectful. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Wonderful facility with great staff. Conditions were absolutely perfect over Presidents' Day weekend. The trails are well laid out and marked and there are great trails for all skill levels. The Kids Club lesson and Reindeer Rally games were a hit with our girls (ages 10 and 7). Highly recommend a visit to Lapland Lake for cross-country skiing!

I felt like I spent the day in a brochure...everything was perfect! Trails were expertly groomed, every staff member was polite and helpful, and COVID protocols were enough to make me feel safe without being onerous. I took a lesson with an experienced instructor who competes internationally. She knew how to adapt for my ability and experience. I needed to get new ski boots and the salesperson in the shop was equally knowledgeable and truly helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Hidden gem! Family owned business personal, friendly service. The cross country trails are amazing, well kept and satisfy all levels of ability from beginner to advanced. Snowshoe trails too. Peaceful location, spectacular scenery and a beautiful lake. Equipment rental on site.

We did not stay there, so I could not rate the rooms. We snuck in for a quick snowshoeing loop. Great little spot, seems like the cross-country skiing trails are well maintained. They've been in business for a long time for a reason, looks like they know what they're doing. We will definitely be back.

LOVE THIS PLACE! The Tupas (cabins) have just enough amenities to make things easy yet do not overdo it so prices stay affordable. The staff are friendly and attentive. The trails are great, well groomed, and well marked. The lake view is incredible! We’ve only been on the weekends and it is never too crowded. Just not enough good things to say!

We had another wonderful stay at Lapland Lake! Probably our 10th stay in the last 13 years. We live 5.5 hours away and can only come once a year and we chose Lapland again. The conditions were perfect. We were there from 1-22-23 to 1-26-23 and it snowed off and on the whole time. We love the little cottages and that you can ski right outside your door. A very unique cross country ski experience. The owners and staff were wonderful as usual! We hope to go back next year.

Lapland Lake is a gem for cross-country skiing! Perfectly groomed trails for skate and classic styles, trails for all ability levels, and surroundings that include a lovely forest plus a lake make this a stunning location. Separate nearby trails for snowshoeing keep the ski trails pristine. The cozy lodge and fully stocked ski shop (and even a heated waxing room) create a relaxing destination, no matter the weather.
Deborah Czech — Google review
Snow chasers paradise! Plenty of snow when everywhere south has none. Honest snow reports, great lodge, and easy-on easy-off trails. There is no cell service at Lapland, so be sure to load your playlists at the lodge which has an excellent public wifi network. Nice little shop with the things you might have forgotten and things you didn’t know you needed! I didn’t try the cafe upstairs, but it exists. They sell beer.
Trails were perfectly groomed and wide. Minimum 10-ft with others wider than that. Very few two-way trails and fantastic trail layout for long meanders. Highly recommend Lapland! I shall return!

Went for Cross-country skiing for our first time. We took a a lesson first and the Instructor gave us the skills we needed to hit the trails on our own and successfully traverse the gorgeous well groomed trails to the lake and through the beautiful pine filled forest. The staff was very knowledgeable, kind, and all around wonderful. Had some delicious hot chocolate from the snack bar/restaurant upstairs and sat by a fire pit outside. We had the best day. Cannot wait to go again.

Great trail system, beautiful wooded environment, well groomed, and very enjoyable, even under sub-par weather/snow conditions we got this weekend. The staff at the lodge are very friendly and helpful, too. I wish we lived closer! :)
(I'm not reviewing the rooms, since we just skied on the trails, and didn't stay in the tupas.)

This is a charming, family run cross country ski center, on a beautiful property.
I have visited twice.
My first time I stayed in a cabin that we absolutely adored. I think it was my favorite cabin ever. Rustic, yet comfy and well designed, I absolutely loved the kitchen space and cooking meals here. This is the cabin that is right across from the ski lodge and a bonus is you get to see the groomer going out and skiers on the trail. You can certainly have a great visit staying off the property too, but the cabins are really special.
The cross country ski instructor was really great, he did challenge us to improve our skills and we were really better for it.
The ski trails are very well groomed, the whole property is well cared for. I do find the topography here to be slightly better suited to advanced beginners and up especially if conditions are icy.
One really special feature is the snowshoe trail. It leads through the woods out to the lake over tiny bridges. It's good to have a trail on snowshoes. I really enjoyed my hike and it let me see some advanced trails I would not get to on skis.
My friend participated in a clinic for skate skiing, and thought the instruction was top notch.
The lodge has a ski shop, a lounge area with a fireplace, and up the stairs is the cafe area which has a great amount of space and lots of light from big windows. The sell sandwiches and soups and baked goods. I thought the red pepper gouda soup was delicious. You can also bring your own food.
I also think this would be a lovely place to visit in summer, especially if you swim at the lake.

Perfect for beginners and or experienced skiers! The trailers are beautiful, the staff is very accommodating. Will be back!

We visit Lapland Lake every year for a late February ski vacation. There’s nothing like cross country skiing on freshly groomed trails. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There are perfect trails for beginners and advanced skiers alike. I highly, highly recommend booking a trip to Lapland Lake. We’re looking forward to visiting again next year!

What a GREAT weekend adventure! Summer fat-tire biking on the winter XC trails is amazing. Only 5 months ago...full snow, now fabulous grassy trails. And the lake (and kayaking) is so peaceful and beautiful. Thank you.
Naturally formed caverns with waterfalls 100 ft. below ground, various formations & fossils.
Wonderful cave experience for all ages!!! Bring a rain coat, boots of some sort and a flashlight. While the guide has one and the cave has lights , I found we wanted to see other things and the guide was up ahead or talking to other guests. Phone lights wasn't enough. There is a really epic waterfall at the end of the cave!!!
Corey Merchant — Google review
This was my first cave tour in a long time and it was great! Tour guide was very informational and told the history of the cave. Tour starts with how the cave was "accidently" discovered by two cows in the 1920's. Then you go down over 100 steps into the caves. The cave has colorful lighting to illuminate the best spots in the cave. While the cave doesn't have any really "roomy" spots it does have the 100 foot waterfall at the end, which is one of a kind.
Unlike many other places you can see and touch the walls. On my tour they even shut off the lights to see what is like without the lights! Passage way to waterfall can be narrow and wet, but that adds to the authenticity of the tour. If in the area definitely worth seeing. Tour is about an hour long.
Gift shop and tour is cash only.
Ryan Mazierski — Google review
There are a lot of stairs to walk down to get in and back out of the cave. We had two smaller children on our tour. The guide and others in our group were very patient with them being slower, which was fabulous to see. They were very slow at the time that we went, late afternoon. There isn't much to their gift shop. The cave tour wasn't very long. The most impressive part of the tour was the waterfall at the end.

Secret Caverns affordable family activity. Cash only to pay for tickets and souvenirs. Not a long path, ends at a naturally made 100 foot under ground waterfall. Would recommend wearing a sweatshirt while in the cave and be prepared for your feet to get slightly wet.

The Secret Caves is a great place to visit for a unique and adventurous experience. The caves are well-maintained and easy to navigate, and the tour guides are very informative and friendly.
The cave tour takes about an hour and covers a variety of different formations, including stalagmites, stalactites, columns, and flowstone. The tour guide provides a lot of information about the geology and history of the caves, and they also share some interesting stories and legends.
One of the things that I loved most about the Secret Caves is that they are not overly commercialized. The caves are still very natural and untouched, and it feels like you're really exploring a hidden gem.
Another thing that I appreciated was that the tour guides were very respectful of the caves and their environment. They made sure that everyone stayed on the marked trails and did not touch any of the formations.
Overall, I had a great time at the Secret Caves. It's a great place to visit for a unique and adventurous experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and educational activity.
Here are a few specific things that I loved about the Secret Caves:
* The caves are well-maintained and easy to navigate.
* The tour guides are very informative and friendly.
* The caves are not overly commercialized and still feel very natural and untouched.
* The tour guides are very respectful of the caves and their environment.
**There are a few stairs involved in the tour, so it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues.
Overall, I highly recommend the Secret Caves for a unique and adventurous experience.

Secret Caverns was a very cool experience. We've been to another local cave in the area, but Secrets Caverns was able to create a more personal feeling adventure. Our tour guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable and funny, and the pace of the tour was not rushed. I would highly recommend checking out Secret Caverns if you're in the central New York location. My one piece of advice would be to make sure you wear proper footwear because it is a bit wet in areas of the caverns.

We had the pleasure of speaking with the owner while waiting for our tour. Great guy with tons of knowledge and experience. The cave is outstanding. Guides are fun to talk to. Much more raw and intimate than many other cave tours. The waterfall at the end is a must see. Great family business worth your time and cash (cash only 👍).

Secret Caverns is a more whimsical alternative to Howe Caverns. It's tongue and cheek and wonderful. I came here 3 years ago and when we came back last week we had the same guide and he was just as delightful. If you look at the pictures you will get the vibe, it's great

Does the grateful dead own a cave? Their signage would make you think so. Fairly small cave with a pretty cool waterfall at the end. My guide was a mix of witty and sarcastic which kept the tour entertaining instead of the mundane.

CASH ONLY. Fun, quirky, one-of-a-kind, multi-generational family business. Tour the natural cave with several underground oddities. Safe, guided 45 minute to an hour tours. Beautiful underground waterfall. The company isn't too strick about things... pretty laid back. :. Nice gift shop/mini museum. Some real treasures in evert direction. Great for kids who can handle walking for a while. Not overly strenuous (~100 stairs). Approximately 45°F tempure. Recommend light jackets, no sandals.
Howe Caverns is an underground wonder featuring unique limestone formations, a lake, and guided tours. The cavern was discovered when Lester Howe noticed cold air blowing up from the ground where his cow stood in a neighbor's pasture. Visitors can easily purchase tickets online for tours and explore the gift shop for souvenirs. It's recommended to dress warmly as it gets chilly down there. The experience is highly recommended for families with kids who love rocks and caves.
Cool spot to visit! Very organized tour in a colorful cave and a fun boat ride included inside and then you walk back out the same way, friendly staff that takes you around. The group size was around 20-30 when I went (a few months ago around the Labor Day break).
There's also a secret cave nearby but I didn't have time to go there this time, will have to come back again in the future!
Book the tickets online in advance to reserve the time you like, they recommend coming 30 minutes early but we ended up getting here late (from fixing a flat tire on the way) by 10 minutes and they took us to our group to catch us up right away, great experience overall and I'd definitely recommend it to others. You do have to wait a bit when walking around to wait for the group but not too bad.

10/10 would recommend to anyone! The caverns are amazing and the commentary from our tour guide was fantastic. This was the last stop on a mini road trip for us and we were so impressed by the experience. It's beautiful. Our tour was thankfully very small (9 of us) but other tours passing us was very large and the guide said they go up to 36 people per group. We just happened to be lucky, but keep that in mind. We went on a random Wednesday afternoon at 245 pm and was very happy with the small group. If you're anywhere near here, it's worth the stop. Oh, its very cold, bring something warm.

Went with family (of 5) all adult but far more better for kids especially. So much fun and very useful information can be absorbed from the tour guides (it is only done through guided tour) we still loved it. *Be mindful of a ton of information to be coming at you* Our guided tour was done by Betsy, and we loved it!!
It’s 52° down there so be prepared for a bit chilly weather down there. Also wear sneakers- a bit slippery from all the little dripping water (it’s natural)
TICKET MUST BE BOUGHT ONLINE *beforehand* and they’re also open on specific days so don’t drive for over 2hrs or more without online booking! The tour is 1hr and 30min long, and very on time so if you’re not there at least exactly at the reserved time then you WILL miss your reservation. No wait time unless you arrive too early

Buying tickets online was easy and effortless, we got there alittle late due to monsoon rains that day, just made our tour. You can’t bring bags in the tour with you so we choose to do the gift shop after the tour, but we didn’t realize that the gift shop closed early, so when our tour was done the gift shop was closed, that was a huge bummer for my daughter she couldn’t get rocks. I took my 6 year old daughter who loves rocks and caves! She loved it! Definitely wear a jacket and pants, it’s freezing down there. I went here as a kid, and it was time to carry the tradition down to the next generation. Tour guides were informative and nice, our tour was a bit rushed, you couldn’t just stop and admire the cave, you had to look while keep moving. The tour guide stops at important areas but just felt rushed. Most of the attractions around the place were closed, so we didn’t really get the whole effect of the place but would go again in a few years.

Wow, amazing experience for all the family members, from little ones to seniors.
All the great staff were super friendly and professional.
The motel was great, super clean, and very comfortable. It has a beautiful pool that you will enjoy after a long day traveling.
The tour staff were super professional and knowledgeable.
We’ll come back with more friends.

We went here as part of a vacation where we were camping near this area.
The cave tour was fantastic. It lasted just long enough that the kids remained interested in what was going on the majority of the time, and there were plenty of different things to see in the cave that kept them involved.
The short boat ride at the end was also very fun, and broke up the walking portions nicely while providing a different experience.
I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, though you'll want to make sure you're not claustrophobic (though I suppose that should go without saying on any cave tour).

I grew up in upstate NY and used to love going here as a child. Just went as an adult and I LOVED it! Our tour guide was fantastic and had a hilarious sense of humor. Made every minute interesting. The caves themselves were so beautiful! Loved all the different colored lights, and especially enjoyed the boat ride. It was breathtaking! Will absolutely visit again.

This place was really cool I didn't know if I was going to like it as much as I did this was my first time in a cave. The tour is awesome there is all kinds of awesome things to see and it's just a different feeling being over a hundred feet underground. The boat ride was just the top and all. Our tour guide April was top-class very intelligent right on point with everything. April probably the best tour guide they have. They also have this awesome other tour will you go cave spelunking in a place that they just opened up to the public after a hundred years that is my next visit. All in all this is a very family-friendly , they have a small cafeteria on site with an eating area anda gift shop and fudge store.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the motel and took a tour for our anniversary recently. We both haven’t been since we were kids, and had been saying for a while that we should go again. I’m so glad we did. We got a king bed room and it was a lot bigger than we were expecting. It was very clean and the bed was extremely comfy. We also got a little goodie bag in our room! We did the Tour & Stay package which came with a ½ pound of their homemade fudge & one large bag of gem mining rough that we did the next day at home. The cave is the same temperature all year so don’t be worried about going in the winter! We ended up having the last cave tour of the day and were lucky enough to get Betsy as our tour guide. She was very nice and welcoming. During the tour she kept us all laughing and intrigued. You could tell the caverns mean a lot to her throughout the tour and I absolutely love that. Thanks for the wonderful stay, we will definitely be back this summer, hopefully with some friends.

Our family (kids age 9 and 6) had a great time. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the caves are magnificent, and the motel was clean and nice. There was a freak late-April snowstorm and a snowplow team came early to clear the parking lots and roads. Excellent customer service, would recommend.

Nice above ground facilities! Beautiful underground cave! Wish the Cafe had been open past 4pm when our tour finished. Will need to be able to walk a mile and climb a few sets of stairs for the cave tour. Don't forget a sweatshirt or light jacket for the tour. Great place for families!

It’s was a fun and cool activity. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. It was a fair distance of a walk not too long not too short. One thing that is important to remember for the summer days, is to bring a sweater and long pants because it’s a constant 52 degrees down there year round. If you do forget they have a gift shop that sell warm sweaters and hoodies. Besides that happy exploring 😊.

Had a great visit with my 13y/o granddaughter. Took in the afternoon cave tour and really enjoyed ourselves. Purchased tickets online ahead of time without any difficulty.
Trip consists of both a walking tour and a small boat trip on a cavern lake. “Gondola” type pole push and guides hands on the sides of the cavern walls.
On-site cafe, candy shop, and gift shop. 3 hours total maximum.

A very fun experience! The caverns are well lit and maintained. The tours are decent sizes, but not overwhelming and the tour guides do great jobs making sure everyone is included. The tour is mainly walking with several sections of stairs, but there is a smaller section where you are seated on small boats. Overall, I think a whole family would have a great time together! There is a pretty large size gift shop in the upper levels of the facilities.

I'm a little claustrophobic so that was interesting especially the last part of the tour where they take you through a very tight maze. Funny thing is it ended up being my favorite part. I also loved when we were on the boat and they turn the lights off in the cave so you could see how dark it is. This was an amazing tour and I want to come back with the rest of my family. Definitely would recommend it to everyone of all ages

Spectacularly beautiful grounds with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. My family toured the caverns and learned about the science of their formation plus the history of their discovery. Very educational, memorable and restful experience.

I have fond memories of this place from my childhood. Got to take two of my children to visit, and they enjoyed it too.
They've added some different lighting and new twists on some of the stories associated with the cavern. It's worth the drive for the views of beautiful upstate NY, and the cave tour is fun.
Get some fudge while you're there and DEFINITELY try the cave Aged cheddar.

This experience really exceeded my expectations. To start, the facility is beautiful and the staff were very organized and efficient with getting the tour groups going. Our tour guide was so sweet, funny, and knowledgeable and really made the tour even cooler. The caverns were so stunning - the boat ride and the narrow winding bit at the end were my favorite parts.

I went here on a class trip many years ago (15 years ago). I still think about this place from time to time because of how cool it was. I remember the tour guides being very nice and the place itself was very well-maintained. This is a place that everyone should go to at least once.

Truly unique among bucket list experiences, Howe Caverns afford one the opportunity to not only descend into the earth but go back into time over 350 million years. A combination of geology, biology and history, the caverns are a prime example of the natural beauty residing below our planet as well on it. I best enjoy them when I can quietly stroll among them at my own pace, considering their truly ancient age and the fascinating processes that carved and sustain these natural wonders. My one wish is if more personalized/private tours were available at similar rates to the public ones to truly appreciate these magnificent formations.
Lovely library and museum. Staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Beautifully maintained and worth a visit if you're in the area or have an interest in the Mohawk River Valley history.
Char B — Google review
Neat little museum in Canajoharie. Prominently featured are paintings by Winslow Homer. A copy of Gilbert Stuart's George Washington is also in the museum. Several works depicting the Mohawk Valley region are are also presented.
The museum also does a nice job with the history of the Beech-Nut factory. Featured are ads displayed from the 1920's and 1930's. Along, with the history of Beech-Nut the story of the Arkell family is provided. Also, photographs and stories about working in the factory.
The museum does a good job presenting information for each painting as well. Rotating galleries are also a part of the museum. The exhibit on "granges" in New York State was interesting.
Museum is fairly priced and staff is helpful.

Small but beautiful displayed history of Beech-nut foods. Tin boxes that were Christmas gift boxes especially interesting. Original American Portrait style paintings & landscapes presented very nicely.
Karen Wagniere — Google review
Waste of time and money. There are only two small rooms with decent art. Definitely not worth the $9 admission. This is a tiny museum that is really more of a library. The staff are rude, interrupting our discussion of a piece to tell us to move back. Avoid this place unless you really love the Beech Nut company as most of the museum is dedicated to that.

Wonderful space , small in size , elegant presentation and very good light on oil paintings. I just would have liked to see a general panel with an overview of American or European sources of inspiration with some analysis and comparisons .
Leila Sesmero — Google review
This museum does have some very nice art and interesting history of the area, including a nice exhibit about how the local art influenced the marketing for Beech-Nut, which was the big local employer for a very long time. On the other hand, the museum is small for the price. Also, we got in trouble for standing too close to one of the paintings, and it is hard to figure out how close is too close for them. They could put up ropes to indicate where people are allowed to stand and where they are not. Many of the paintings have information about them in small signs next to them, but the signs have very small print so they are not really readable unless you stand close to the painting.

Beekman 1802 never disappoints, I've been a fan since the beginning. The store is immaculate and very well designed, I don't go often, but I love to see how the new seasons bring new changes. I have never been disappointed with their products or customer service.

Such a sweet little store, I just love it. I come to the area a few times a year and always make a point to stop at Beekman. The staff are so friendly, sometimes they have baby goats, and most importantly their products are amazing. While I could get the body cream I’m obsessed with locally, I hold out as an excuse to make the trip to the store. I’ve now added a moisturizer and a mask from Beekman to my regimen. 10/10, you should definitely treat yourself and go here.

I personally wanted to have clean products that worked really well and Beakman does just that is all there products are 90 minimum on the Yuka app which is excellent. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on my skin, and now with the potato activator it’s a game changer. I have the sensitive skin so their dream booster retanoil alternative is a dream, their milk drop and mask are to die for. There collagen serum is perfection and you can add it to your bloom cream which comes out like a pretty flower. I just love them all and now have been gifting them to people so then can fall in love too

Cute little shop. Very expensive.$$$$ And when you order online, the packaging is absolutely ridiculous. They need to lessen their carbon footprint. No matter how locally sourced their products are their packaging is over-the-top. A buyer beware their pure goat milk lotion is not as moisturizing as you would like. I was disappointed.

My trip to the store was pleasant, it was well-stocked and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, I had to make the long trip back the next day as an item was missing from my set. The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is home to exhibits and artifacts from the sport's history dating back to the 1800s. It also has a plaque gallery with over 38,000 commemorative plaques honoring the great players and coaches of baseball.
I don't watch sports like I used to and even when I did, I watched football and basketball more than baseball. Moreover, I grew up outside the US and so didn't grow up with the baseball culture. But even as a relative novice, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The museum does a great job presenting the history, and showcasing all the significant players and events. I came away with a much better understanding of the game, being able to place names and people in the overall timeline and a fuller appreciation for all the accomplishments. Well worth the drive from NYC.

The town is surrounded by apple orchards and makes for a beautiful drive.

This was an amazing place, at times feeling like sacred ground for the sport. Overall we were impressed and happy we made the stop on our way home to Oh. There are 3 floors and you should watch the movie first to really get in the right frame of mind. I was expecting the women’s leagues exhibit to be larger from watching A League of their Own. But there was just so much to remember from years past and I found myself wondering what these players were doing in retirement. It’s well worth the trip and Cooperstown itself is an amazing American town set on a lake perfect fort a picnic lunch and then some ice cream.

The Hall of Fame is the keystone that completes an awesome little town. Even those that don't like baseball will enjoy the HOF. An incredible place of American history, way more than just a history of baseball. It turned out that my experience was about the memory of my father, my husband, and all the summer night moments of watching the game on TV.... I think this is probably not unique to me. What looks small from outside is actually a pretty big museum. I needed good 3 hours or more, to fully appreciate this place. I'm not a super crazy baseball fan, but it meant so much to me to visit this place, to my surprise. Absolutely a must go place. It was so wonderful to get in touch with our past, particularly after COVID, to remind myself those American heros who have been sustaining our culture throughout the history.

I am 73 years old. I have loved Baseball since I was 8 years old. I have dreamed of visiting the Hall Of Fame since I was a child.
Today, that dream came true! My son brought me on a road trip from Houston, Texas to Cooperstown, New York to make my childhood dream come true!
Today, I got to see the exhibits of the Baseball players I grew up watching: Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Yogi Berra, the list goes on and on. I got to see the exhibits of the players I idolized but never got to see play; Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, the list is endless!! I was at and in the Baseball Hall Of Fame!!
I enjoyed this day as much as I have ever enjoyed any day of my life. I was a kid again, if only for a few hours. I WAS AT THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME!! It was all I could do to hold back my tears of joy!
The HOF is beautiful! Cooperstown, New York is beautiful! The folks at the Hall are simply awesome. They are knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and helpful to a fault! They made my childhood dream come true an even better experience!
This has been such a fantastic and awesome experience, it is difficult to put into words. I am already hoping to be able to come back to Cooperstown to visit the Hall AND the village again......very soon!

As a lightweight baseball fan, and a retired non-athletic woman who only ineptly has played ball, I expected to amble through the museum in a just a couple of hours, but there was so much fun stuff to read, and so many visiting baseball fans to interact with as we took in the exhibits, that I was there five hours.
The history - early baseball, clubs, standardizing the rules, negro leagues, women's baseball, and wonderful stories of all sorts of people who played and/or enriched the game - it was just wonderful. Don't miss the introductory film.
The hall of fame plaques are career vignettes of the players. Just overwhelming and very cool. Loved the statue (in with the hall of fame plaques area) of Ted Williams and the notes about it.
There are areas that focus on key contributors - Babe Ruth, Cy Young, Connie Mack, Ken Griffey, Ichiro, etc. - and areas that focus on groups of contributors - Latin Americans, Negro Leagues, etc.
And there are interactive opportunities. Many. Including the opportunity to take your photo and be emailed baseball cards of yourself and the team you select. Fun for all. Highly recommend IF you have any interest at all in baseball.
I noticed families, couples, and groups of just women and just men. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.

An absolute must see for the true baseball fan!
This is been on my bucket list since I was a little boy and coming here made me feel like a kid again. They do such a good job of making all the visitors feel comfortable and excited for being there.
You start off the tour with a 15 minute movie which gives you chills about the history of the game and where it's come from. Really well made. From there you're free to walk about the three floors and see the various artifacts that have been left over from the players over the years. Allow yourself some time to stop and read as you really learn a lot. I wish I had more time.
Highly highly recommend for the true baseball fan.

Watch the video in the theater. If you have love of baseball, family, history, or a heart you'll be moved. Take 2 to 3 hours and you can see the whole museum portion without rushing. Take more if you're someone who wants to read everything. The Hall itself is cool for a baseball nerd, but not the main reason to come. Cooperstown is place you can spend a whole weekend alone or with your family.

Doubleday Field is a picturesque baseball stadium that hosts annual events and games. It boasts of an impressive historic field with classic stands and bleachers, which offer visitors a glimpse of the past. The main gate provides access to the stands behind home plate, allowing for an enriching experience for attendees. Although you cannot walk on the field or through any of the bleachers on the sidelines, there are open bathrooms available for use.

Manageable little museum. Friendly staff. Modest crowds. Beautiful exhibit on Keith Haring is what brought my lady and I to the door, but she found more contemporary art to capture her imagination. Arthur exhibit was a bit underwhelming. We also enjoyed the American wing. Easy drive. Easy (free) parking. Worth a return trip sometime.

We visited on Labor Day for the last day of the M. C. Escher exhibit. The Escher exhibit was extensive and information was posted on nearly every piece. There was also a Native American exhibit that we enjoyed as well. The building is beautifully restored with large, clean bathrooms, a gift shop and a small beverage and snack shop (we did not partake). Parking is free and admission is very reasonable. We did not take the thruway and the drive from central New York was lovely.

As you can see, the art on wood has a 3D appearance. It's a flat piece painted to seem this way. Each of these has it's own different look. Randy Johnson (retired baseball pitcher) has a section of his trips to Africa, very nice and well done. We found the lower level to be more of our interest.

This is a very cool smaller museum. Each portion is well considered, and the staff is quite nice. The artwork associated with James Fenimore Cooper is almost the cherry on top of the overall experience.

Terrific museum with so much to see! The museum's collections are displayed over three floors in a neoclassical mansion that overlooks Lake Otsego They have wonderful displays of traditional folk art and Native American art and artifacts. Grandma Moses, Gilbert Stuart, and Thomas Cole are amongst prominent artists whose works are featured.
The museum also displays traveling exhibits. Currently, one of the traveling displays features former MLB pitcher Randy Johnson's photographs. They also had a nice display of psychedelic rock and roll art from the 1960's.
The museum also has tours that you can join while visiting. The tours are informational and the guide did a great job explaining the works of art in the museum.
Didn't see a place to purchase tickets online so they have to be purchased at the museum. There is a gift shop and small café located in the museum as well. Be sure to take a stroll on the grounds surrounding the museum. There are some nice exhibits, a garden, and a nice view of the lake.

A beautiful museum, they showcased a local artist from Springbrook. And I got a chance to see all the other galleries. Such beautiful presentation!
This museum is dedicated to re-creating 19th century village life, with demonstrations of traditional crafts and animals roaming freely. It's a favorite activity for tweens and adults alike.
We visited in October 2021 and had a great experience. Very small crowd, almost by ourselves. Great buildings and exhibits with knowledgeable guides. Had a great time.

Quaint history museum focused on mid-1800's farming implements, tools, life style, and specialty trades of the time. Set as a small town with several well restored buildings each highlighting a specific trade. The blacksmith, printing, barns, farmhouse, and tavern were very well presented each with a staff person in period authentic costume answering questions and demonstrating their craft. The second floor of the main building has an extensive display of trade-specific old tools and farming equipment. This is a very worthwhile exhibit to see if you're a tool aficionado. There are some farm animals such as pigs, goats, sheep, cows, horses, chickens, and turkeys. Most are in fenced areas and some can be petted though the fence. There's a restored carousel with a $1 per person charge to ride. A very nice nostalgic exhibit. Light food, soft drinks and snacks are available in a cafe building. There's an admission to enter the main museum property. Kids will like the visit and it can be enjoyed in a few relaxed hours. When in the Cooperstown area this is a good place to visit with the family.

The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, NY is a museum that recreates rural life in the 19th century. The museum has interactive exhibits, historical reenactors, and farm animals. Each of the structures in the historic village were actual buildings that stood in different NY State towns and villages in the 1800's. In many ways the museum is a like a smaller version of Williamsburg, VA. The museum grounds also have nice views of Lake Otsego and the Leatherstocking golf course.
Historical reenactors did a great job explaining their crafts! Most of them also sell the items they make at the museum. Other buildings in the village have informational displays that provide good detail about life in the 1800's. Check out the doctor's office where you can see actual medical tools and medicines from this time period. Don't forget to see the farm animals at the end of the village.
When walking in be sure to see the Cardiff Giant. This hoax captured America and the world's attention in the 1870's. PT Barnum even offered to buy it.
All staff members were friendly. There is a gift shop on the grounds of the museum with reasonably priced items. If you don't want to go into the museum there is also a gift museum outside the museum grounds that you can go to.
A very well put together historical museum that is fun for all ages.

Nice place for a family outing. Lots of history. You can watch reenactments of various old world skills such as blacksmithing, weaving, farming, cooking, and living. The store is stocked with many cool trinkets to remember you visit. Admission price is reasonable, and during certain times, admission is free. Great place to visit, especially in the fall harvest season. I recommend you stop in and check it out. Make sure the kids ride the merry go round. They will love it.

OMG. Everyone was so knowledgeable. The grounds were gorgeous. The animals looked like they were well taken care of. Make sure to check out the working Carousel. Will definitely be back with the grandkids. Great time. Thanks to them all for keeping it going.

Great museum! with friendly demo and store staff. Had a great day. Went very early in the season. Only a few other visitors. The blacksmith, stores, farm, carousel, museum, and Cardiff Giant were all much fun to see! It was perfect for us. We got membership as combo support for the place and to add it to the "any time we wanna" list of day trip places. (and the Fenimore Art Museum across the street)
Wheelchair Accessibility: They have good accessibility to the main entrance and store (from the front). Most of the buildings on the map are clearly labeled for accessibility. However, it was annoying that some buildings were only accessible on side or back entrances. It was further annoying that most of the accessible entrances still had bumps or door/sill/landing geometry that made it hard for my son to go in with just someone holding door for him using his powered wheels. A couple building's had bumps that were too steep for his front wheels even with all the power assist. I had to tip or lift him over the bumps. Glad I still can.

Fun for all ages! Great tourist location for kids to see, learn, and interact with farm animals and farm workers. We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and would definitely return when in the area again. I believe this museum can apparently be rented as a venue for weddings and held in the old church on site after operating hours as there was a wedding that was just beginning around their closing time of 5p on a Saturday.

This is such a great place! Live town with people baking, blacksmith making, pharmacist had live leeches too! It was weaving & fiber weekend when I went and people were spinning & weaving. Farm animals to see & gardens. Houses and information about life in the 1800s. I will go every time I can. You can become a member and save on entry & purchases!
Flight of 6 wines for $11. We purchased Gouda and Bretton crackers, too, because New York requires a food purchase with wine tasting.
Highly recommend! Great wines made by Bear Pond Vintners. We purchased 2 to take home to our daughters who like sweet wines: Dirt Cheap and Holiday Wine. Our hostess was fabulous!

We were doing the Cooperstown Beverage Trail and weren't sure whether it we should drive down to Bear Pond Winery. We decided to take a chance on it and were very glad we did.
They're not just a wine stop and also have a small cafe with a various food options and small plate pairings. Our group really enjoyed the wine tree and small plates option since we were getting a bit hungry by that point. The staff was also very friendly.
All in all, a great stop on the Cooperstown Beverage Trail.

Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard is a 160-year-old water-powered cider mill and store where you can taste various jams, salsas, fudge, snacks and local dairy products as well as fruit wines. The mill grounds also include a pond with ducks and geese and a kiddie play area.
My first time visiting this place was truly amazing ! The apple cider was incredibly delicious, and we couldn't resist ordering the broccoli cheddar soup twice, as it was the best we've had in recent memory. But the chili, well, it should be called the BEST CHILI because it was absolutely delicious! It made for a perfect meal on a chilly afternoon. We also indulged in a bit of souvenir shopping in the store 🍎 and took a nice stroll around the orchard. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a blast feeding the geese 🪿 A delightful experience!

Very clean and friendly shop to explore. You can find very unique gifts for any one in your family. Prices have gone up but that's the normal now a days. I've been visiting here for years and it's still fun ! Children are always outside playing or feeding the many different colored ducks in the pond. If you are in the area it's a must to stop by and see for yourself !

I’ve been going to Fly Creek Cider Mill since forever. Well-known to locals, it’s a particularly wonderful Fall destination. Apples are delicious, as are the many other products they sell. Absolutely worth visiting if you’re in the area! Don’t forget to feed the ducks!

I've been coming to Fly Creek Cider Mill since I was a young girl and this year I was able to take my four children to also experience it. I now live in Maryland but our relatives still live in NY and we always try to make the effort to come visit Fly Creek. The setting is beautiful, the staff is warm and welcoming, the foods and products are delicious, and there is plenty for the children to do. My kids enjoyed duck racing, feeding the ducks, and tasting the cider. The fudge selection is delicious and we took some for the long drive home! The new tasting room area with seating was very nice. I enjoyed the flight sampler (my favorites were the wine slushes!). Very thankful this business was able to survive after the impact of COVID closures.

Nice place for an easy lunch. They have primarily roadside and bar type foods. The pies were very good as were the soups. The animals are nice to look at and there is a lot to look at. The shop is full of goodies to peruse. They have done a nice job of making it a family friendly place to visit. There’s a small children’s play area too near the picnic tables. We were there about 90 min but didn’t get to do a tasting at the time. They have a cute rubber duck there that we enjoyed.

Outdoor eats: had the home made mac & cheese and apple cider doughnuts accompanied with cider tea. YUMMY. Cousin had sausage sandwich and apple pie & ice cream washed down with hard cider. Portions Aplenty!
Games and challenges for kids. Feed duck's & geese. Stroll around the very beautiful property. The trees in mid-changing splendor, wind farms and road side farms and pumpkin stands were a BONUS!!

My wife made a review and tried to update it with photos and appeared to be blocked. So here you go Fly Creek. Another negative review.
Pretty disappointed that this is not handicapped accessible. No elevator so mother in law had to struggle to get upstairs to visit the tasting room with us. Also, no tasting of fudge like their videos state you can do. Because of Covid. Yet you can buy wine tastings. Doesn’t make much sense. Their items in the shop are overpriced.
Also there were inappropriate labels on the display of Rada knives. See photos. Saying knives to kill your mother in law and Jamaican husbands. Can’t make this stuff up. The cashiers and sales people in the store were Jamaican according to their name tags so I’m assuming they perhaps thought the sayings were funny. We didn’t think so.

Always a favorite stop! This is the first time visit with the new tasting room upstairs. It's a nice place to get a quick taste of the adult beverages they have to offer. Lots of things to do for the kiddos, and the snack bar outside has more to offer than just apple treats.
Digging for quartz crystal diamonds at a surface mine with restaurants & a campground.
This was a family trip for spring break. WE LOVED IT. My child is a outdoorsy loves collecting rocks type. We spent the whole day there. The staff were amazing. It almost didn't happen due to snow but it melted enough by noon to let us in. Patience is important but if you spent the day there banging and digging you'll find plenty of small stuff. We plan on coming back with better tools. A hammer and chisel is great but the standards they supply is just enough to get a feel. This is a great place for a day trip especially if you are into this type of thing. You will find something and those more dedicated will find even more. Worse case if you can't d the mining yourself the sluice bag thing is still fun.

Had a great time. We only stayed one night but the campground was nice and clean and had all types of amenities available for the guests. And right across the road is a restaurant that delivers and miners village where you can access the mines to harvest herkimer diamonds for yourself....I got a few great pieces out of the ground. Just make sure to take eye protection , a bucket. and some hand tools.

This is an amazing geological location to visit! We all had fun digging for real Herkimer diamonds, and the experience of tring something new! The gift shops were exquisite with much to look at, as well with the learning center! They also have a swimming pool (when in season), and a playground for the kids. (all season)👍
The cabin we stayed in was cozy, and the staff was friendly.

Pretty cool place, they provide you with tools and safety gear (that you pay for) or you can bring your own. If you come on a hot day you can get dehydrated very quickly out there, so make sure you have water with you! They do sell food and drinks although it’s over-priced. Overall a cool experience and a fun activity to do with your family.

Well maintained place. Brought chisels, extra hammers, goggles and gloves. A bucket to sit on. Well prepared but after 2 hours of hammering rocks, found more (tiny) Crystal's on the ground then any hammering. Fun but not going to make a million.

My family and I had a blast! The most friendliest workers I’ve ever dealt with. We found so many diamonds in no time! I first was thinking about how hard it’ll be to split a rock to get a diamond, and if we would even find any. We left with A LOT. My boyfriend and I turned our first pieces into necklaces and I am so happy with how they came out (for only $20!). I would love to stay longer in the future.

We had a great time. The food was great, the chicken tenders were fantastic. We didn't endulge in the gift store instead we got the $30 mother load sleuth bags and they had giant pieces in them that made it the best souvenir. If you have a cloudy day like we did it was ideal. You are in the open....otherwise you will be baking. They closed at 5.... which was fine for us that day, but it felt early with 4hrs of sun left. Overall it was a great experience for all ages ranges. We are getting pendant necklaces through Amazon too show off ask the Herkimer diamonds We found. Have fun.

Lots of things to do for the kids and adults. A river, that you can float down, runs alongside. There are mines to look for diamonds. There are so many cool “cabins” to stay in. The people we met were friendly, other campers and employees alike. There were fun themed activities like a luau, pavilion movies, including many fun educational ones as well.
One employee there, named Harold, was so kind and helpful. We felt very welcome to be there.
We are coming back, at the very least, once a year.

My 14 year old son and myself had a wonderful time. The people running the tour are fabulous. So informative and still managed to keep my son interested. I really enjoyed seeing the lock in operation and taking the boat ride. It was a wonderful way to spend the day with my son. I highly recommend this tour to anyone on the fence as to taking it or not. The captain of the boat even let kids take pictures at the helm.

Wonderful tour w/ great local history. Would have given it 5 stars but several 3 year old children were cranky( I realize its not a perfect world) sorry but true. Could hardly hear the recorded audio. Canal 18 is cool, now we can drive over and check it out on foot.
Stephen B — Google review
We enjoyed a lovely cruise on a clean and well kept vessel! The narration provided was informative, and we all learned a great deal about the history of the canal. Experiencing the locks was especially interesting, and the highlight for the kids. Captain Dave was a wealth of knowledge and happy to answer questions. He’s got a million “dad jokes” to add some humor to the excursion- be prepared to roll your eyes and groan along the trip!
I would have liked a bit more time without the narration playing to enjoy the scenery and chat with family. It was pretty loud and hard to talk over - but that’s just my preference. My only actual complaint was that they don’t allow you to bring on your own beverages. They do have snacks and drinks for sale at a reasonable price which we purchased, but with young kids I’m always disappointed when businesses have a strict no outside food and beverage policy.
Overall, worth the stop in Herkimer!

The Erie Canal Cruise was very enjoyable, we had a great captain and crew, all very knowledgeable about the canal and it’s history. The boat is covered and there is lots of shade to sit comfortably under. .

We went on the cruise boat yesterday in the afternoon, and it was a beautiful day. It was extremely simple to get booked and locked on for the cruise, just using my phone. Mary and I enjoyed the trip very much, as she was looking forward to going through a lock and seeing how it worked. Overall the experience was very enjoyable except for the narration being constant. The captain narrated a vast amount of knowledge which was informative and interesting, but it was so loud and distracting that there was to be no discussion between any of the people. That aside, it was a truly enjoyable and interesting event and I highly recommend it.
Richard Harris — Google review
This was a very nice trip, great for American/New York history buffs, those interested in birds and anyone who enjoys being on the water. We took the first cruise of the day which was cooler for a hot summer day. The boat is fully covered so you don’t need to worry about too much sun exposure. It was great and if they had a longer version of the tour I’d definitely do it. It was noted their is a different tour of the mechanics of the locks on certain days of the week (sounded interesting). Lastly, the tour is a mix of a live guide and a prerecorded narrative which is well done. Much of the cruise follows the Empire Trail which would be nice to walk or bike if staying in the area a full day or multiple days.

My husband and I went on the boat tour today. I've always wanted to do a Erie Canal cruise. It was wonderful. Mike, our tour guide was so informative, and comical. We learned so much about the Erie Canal. It was a very pleasant cruise and so glad we did it.

It was a perfect day to cruise. The captain was funny, & an excellent tour guide! I've never been in a lock before....fascinating to hear the mechanics & logistics of it, & the history! Thinking about digging a canal without today's machines, & seeing the lock doors that are 100 years old still functioning is totally amazing to me. Thank you, Capt. Dave!!
Ellen Civitello — Google review
The cruise is very good. Our cruise departed on time and went down the Mohawk River. The local scenery is very nice. Both the captain and the audio narrator did a good job explaining the history and present day use of the Erie Canal. On the cruise you will go through the lock twice. The first time it takes you down. After you go down you will turn around in the Mohawk River and go back to the canal. This time you will go up.
On the cruise you will likely the Fort Herkimer Church, which is the second oldest church in NY State. You will also see few waterbirds here and there. The route of the cruise follows the Erie Canalway bike trail nearby. The cruise is comfortable and you can purchase food, soda, or alcohol if you need. If you are in the area you should definitely do the cruise.
Butternuts is a little further away from the other Cooperstown area breweries but it's absolutely worth the visit. The brewery has a much smaller, more grassroots vibe then the others as well, but the beer is excellent (and there's much more to try than the iconic Porkslap you've no doubt had if you're from out of town like me). I should note the tasting room is closed during the winter months, but we showed up not knowing that and we were welcomed in anyway for a full private tour and a tasting of whatever was available. There just aren't enough people left on Earth who are willing to inconvenience themselves for strangers and I think it really speaks volumes. Go pay them a visit.

Brewing out of what was once a barn, their operation is small, but the flavor and passion they put into their craft is immense.

My wife and I enjoyed an Getty's Irish Christmas Concert at The Stanley Theater. Wow, what a beautiful venue! By far the best of the many we've been to over the years. Such a historical venue, glad we got the chance to visit. Given the time in which it was built, the seating is very tight, too small for taller patrons. Hopefully, improving that will help. Such a beautiful venue. We went to see the Getty’s Christmas concert at the Stanley Theatre. We loved it. The only complaint was from my husband who is 6’ 1 1/2”. He could barely fit in the row where we were sitting . Thankfully he had an aisle seat and could put his legs out there . Otherwise it would have very uncomfortable. Great small town museum. Works of art from ranging from Frederick Church, Thomas Cole, Edward Hopper, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko. Much of the art focuses on New York State and the Mohawk Valley. Saw interesting exhibition on "Fashioning Art From Paper," featuring an artist that constructed garments from different periods of history ranging from the Renaissance to the early 20th Century.

Nice museum with a small but impressive collection of paintings, most notably of American 19th century art.

Johnson’s building is awkward for art display, but memorable. Visit for the Thomas Cole ‘Voyage of Life’ series and a small, but exceptional, selection of early and mid-20th century paintings.

MWPAI is a must-visit Utica destination. The collection includes beautifully curated pieces from a variety of artists of all mediums. Featured exhibits change every several months, so there is always something new to experience. The gift shop features local collectibles and niche pieces for artists, jewelry enthusiasts, and anyone looking for something unique. They are active on social media and always post about exciting events; Happy Hours, Musical Acts, Children's Entertainment & Art Programs, Yoga, and the Annual Sidewalk Arts Festival in the Summer. So much to see and do! Enjoy lunch on-site at the Terrace Cafe. Tour the Fountain Elms home which is perfectly preserved -- and breathtakingly decorated for the Holidays.

I enjoyed seeing the building I have never seen across from the library before, it was so cool. I really liked the exhibits, my favorite one was the modernism exhibit because of the stained glass objects. My grandparents favorites were the, um, Norman Rockwell exhibit, it had some funny images like the marriage counselor one, remind me of my grandparents lol. I thought the people were really nice there and the shop was cool. I hope I can work there I could, but i'm not old enough, thanks. 6/30/2022

Such a lovely small museum. We drove out from Albany to visit the Munson and we were very happy. Modern building built by Philip Johnson in the 1960’s with a great collection that featured mostly paintings from 1932, a cubist Picasso, Dali, Mondrian, Kandinsky, Thomas Cole, Edward Hopper, and portrait artists from the Utica area.

The school of art is amazing as well. Go to their website for memberships or art classes.
Small year-round zoo featuring over 200 animals plus guided tours & kids' programs.
Cute zoo! We enjoyed it and its neat layout on a hill. They offer wagon you can pull your child in for a fee, my daughter loved it!
Trish L. — Google review
Small but interesting zoo with several really exciting exhibits. The Mexican Grey Wolves were a big highlight for us, as they are nearly extinct. Their pack is about 1% of the entire species population. Exhibits were clean and looked spacious enough. Several exhibits are on a steep slope and might be difficult to walk to for some guests. I would have loved to see a bit more room for a few of the animals, especially the sea lions. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It took us about 2 hours to see every animal - though we spent several minutes at each exhibit. Bring a handful of quarters if you want to feed the alpaca! There's a small (bubble gum machine style) dispenser of food.

Friendliest staff even on the coldest day, Very affordable prices, Beautiful view of the city and of the animals. The lioness was most interested in me of all animals probably wanted a snack. Overall great experience and great time

This is a great zoo for this area. Not as good as Syracuse in my opinion, but it’s still a great place to get the family membership though, and bring the kids every couple of weeks. They recently added to the playground which came out really nice. The kids love it and it’s the perfect sized walk for out 3 year old. They are slowly renovating some exhibits, which is a huge plus. Recommend you visit this establishment if you’re in the area!

A great little zoo. Limited animals because of the time of year. Still enjoyed the place and would recommend going.
Chris Nagorski — Google review
There were several animals to see, most were sleeping or in their homes, difficult to see but animals nonetheless. I was appalled by the lack of landscaping and overgrown weeds both in and out of the animal enclosures. I overheard a man say “I guess I should have brought my weed eater with me to help me find the animal in there”. The place has a lot of empty cages to walk through and areas that could use some serious upkeep, a lot of potential just needs better care- I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back to this zoo sadly.

This is a great zoo! It’s well-maintained and really feels like the animals are well taken care of. Nice giftshop also with friendly employees. A good selection of unique animals, many that are endangered. I love visiting and supporting this zoo!

The zoo has come along way since I was a child. We enjoyed it with our Grandson. They have a playground area now and a nice covered area to eat so you can get out of the sun. The monkeys and the camels were quite a hit!

The zoo was great for the kids. They loved the goats. It was a bit chilly the day we went, but it was pretty good. Due to us going in mid-March, we weren't able to see ALL the animals they had, but we still saw quite a few. Overall, it was a pretty good family day trip.
Crystal Baker — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised by how many animals this zoo had given the price and the location. We’ve gone to petting zoos that were more expensive and much less impressive. This zoo was much better than both the Franklin Park Zoo and the Stone Zoo at a fraction of the cost. Our kids loved getting to see lions and zebras (in particular) so close. We would absolutely go back again.

Amazing zoo! Reasonable price, lots of stuff for the kids to see and trails to walk. Went during a weekday in the summer, wasn't crowded at all. Some exhibits were closed but well maintained.

Despite it being a cold Saturday after Thanksgiving, it was open. We saw most of the animals including Lions, Mexican Wolves, African Painted Dogs, and more. Always creepy and yet exciting to see a lioness stare at you like you're lunch once she gets out of the cage.

My husband and I love animals, so we booked an "animal encounter" and had the best time! There were two very knowledgeable and friendly zoo educators who showed us three of the "animal ambassadors." You could tell that the animals were well taken care of and were super friendly. We got the "photography package" and it was well worth it! After the encounter, we walked to all of the exhibits. This zoo is a nice size - not so big that you're walking all day and not too small. Some animals were taking a break (it was a hot day and they are animals! Not the zoo's fault if all the animals aren't visible all of the time!). There were a few new exhibits (emus and river otters!) And some under construction, showing that the zoo is continually improving. All in all, it was a great day trip and we will definitely be back!
Marianne Carus — Google review
Was a nice day out, some animals were not out as it was still too cold. I could've watched the otters all afternoon.
One of our favorite little parks. Nice size waterfall, several people leave their little rock towers of remembrance which is a fun little activity. Our last visit was after considerable rain so it was muddy, but bridge is there. It's not usually very busy which keeps it quiet. Ample parking

Loved the fall. Not much hiking needed. The air is very humid so bring enough drinks with you. Lot of places to park your car. You can hike also. The drive towards the fall was great to. Very serine

Most underutilized park in NYS! Beautiful small waterfalls around main falls on East side. Too bad NYS doesn't have 8-12 campsites here.
Chris Horton — Google review
It was a great waterfall to visit and a nice recreational park. I do wish the trails were labeled. just so you know, there are 2 trails to the main waterfall. The one on the right is steep and full of roots. The tail to the left is a a tiny bit longer and loops around but is also a lot less steep and dangerous. This is def something i wish i knew beforehand
Bubba Bubs — Google review
It was a bit rainy the day we visited but its a short simple walk. There are four separate areas with falls for viewing. Back parking lot gets you closest to the trail but you will miss one fall if you start up top.

Nice trails to walk along and enjoy nature. Check the online map first. There aren't any maps at the trailheads. Waterfalls are pretty. Trail can be muddy so bring boots. Poor cell phone reception so plan ahead if you need directions or are meeting up with others.

Great short hike with not just the main falls as the attraction, there were some side little waterfalls that were beautiful from the trail along the river!his! Not too crowded on the trail although it was a little loud and noisy in the picnic area with people playing their radios up very loudly. Not too far of a drive from where I live and had a very nice time!

Very nice place for a walk. Many waterfalls of various sizes make for some exciting photo opportunities. Many different types of plants, trees, and mushrooms to photograph. Nice walking trail, although at times very muddy. Make sure you wear good shoes. There are lots of picnic tables with grills and many fire pits to enjoy a great day in the park and have a picnic. Reasonably clean rest rooms. Fairly clean area. There is a softball field. And a pavilion, but no other amenities. Well worth a stop if you like a scenic trail and waterfalls.

It was a great day trip. A short drive from both Utica and Watertown. A short walk down the well-groomed trail leads to multiple waterfalls. The main waterfall offers wonderful views as well as a chance to get your feet wet. I almost got behind the falls, but the rocks became very slick. I was close enough to touch the rushing water.

I'm not a local. Stopped here during the winter. Trails where very thick woth ice required a great deal of caution. Having said that, I went down the trail, dropping in elevation to the falls closest to the entrance. I felt it too dangerous to go further with my wife. It was very beautiful. I will return again in nicer weather.

Pixely Falls was nice, but not my full cup of tea. I enjoy trails that are good for hiking and cycling as well as to a swimming area like a lake. To me, this is a great place for a good cookout, or skilled hiking.

Colonial fort first built in the 1750s to guard a key trading route, with museum tours & monuments.
Love visiting this NP! Follow them to see all the special events they put on. Great reenactors doing live history demonstrations. Explore the fort! Great museum with gift shop. Passport stamp available here in museum/Visitor's Center. Walking path around and to fort. Street parking.

Informative and detailed reconstruction of a colonial fort. Lots of interpretive signs. A friendly guide dressed in colonial military garb. Right in the middle of Rome so it's easy to do, eat, and drink nearby. I learned about why this area was so strategic to the Oneida, the British, and the Americans. You should too! 👍

I had the privilege of visiting Fort Stanwix when the Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps performed there.
The staff was incredibly friendly. The fort was well maintained. It was a smaller fort than expected, but I enjoyed going in the sleeping quarters and walking around the grounds.
The gift shop is not open on Mondays, but it was decent considering the size of the fort. I picked up a passport book, but forgot to stamp it so I will be back!
Christina Miller — Google review
I was very impressed. The staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The fort was immersive with lots of rooms open and informative displays. The visitor center was well laid out with a nice series of videos to connect everything together as well as a decent amount of artifacts. I'd say give yourself an hour and a half for your visit.
My main complaint is that there is no dedicated parking lot (I think your best option is street parking near the visitor center). Also, the fort isn't nestled in the woods but rather surrounded by the businesses and city streets of downtown Rome, NY.
It's only ten to fifteen minutes from I-90, so if you're looking for something to break up your drive across upstate New York, this is a great stop.

What a great piece of history to visit! Our homeschoolers enjoyed a full day at the fort. From a guided tour to the junior ranger program to coloring pages to building blocks! The staff was wonderful and helpful! Thank you!

I love historic forts and this is the most accurate 18th century one I've seen.
It really transports you back in time to a revolutionary war fort. The staff and information around the fort does a good job of showing you what the different buildings and rooms were used for. There is also a good model showing what the original fort was like and the process of rebuilding it. National Parks service clearly did a lot of research to accurately recreate the fort.
The entire fort is a replica except for some brick ruins of an old fireplace, which is well marked. Being into archeology I appreciate that they have these open to the public.
I also would recommend walking around the fort to get a good look at the full defensive line, including the dry moat and palisades. This really is a must see, I also didn't even get a chance to visit the visitor center which I'm sure also had good information.
The entire place is also free to visit which is a huge plus. Other forts in New York this extensive can cost up to 25 a person, so its really cool that this one is completely free.
Fort Ticonderoga and William Henry in NY are fun to visit but are both expensive and not nearly as historically accurate as Stanwix (they were both earth and timber forts like stanwix but neither was rebuilt as accurately as this one).
If your in the area or passing through, or a history buff I highly recommend seeing Fort Stanwix.
Tim Welch — Google review
Wonderfully restored pre-Revolutionary war fort. Fascinating history, helpful staff, and an environment that encourages and helps you imagine what life might have been like in what was still the frontier in the 18th century.
Eric Haffner — Google review
This was a nice reconstructed fort in a gorgeous historical part of town. The volunteer at the gate was very knowledgeable of not only the fort but the history of the area well past the dates pertinent to the fort. Grounds crews were visible actively maintaining the land and there is still some work being done in one of the back buildings. Also, due to covid, the interior of some of the buildings is not accessible. Hopefully that will be changing soon.

This place is amazing! It feels and is historically accurate and you really get a sense of time and place here. Located in a pivotal spot in this nation’s history this place is a can’t miss for all ages, especially as they start up the different live demonstrations. The park ranger there was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Really a great time!
Marcus Forelius — Google review
I love places like this where it is possible to learn about American history and the way soldiers used to live during those hard times. The fort is in good shape, there are plenty of explanation signs and National Parks Rangers willing to talk about history explaining the life within the fort. The visitor center was still closed, probably because of COVID-19 restrictions. There is no parking lot, but parking isn’t a problem in the area: it is possible to park on the street right in front the fort or in a municipal parking garage.
Simone Fazio — Google review
A very interesting historical site. It was burned down by the British in the 1700's. It was rebuilt to resemble the original fort in the early 20th century. Very well done. The visitor center is very good. Many artifacts and two films to watch. It very historically educational. We really enjoyed it.

Thank you Vernon Downs! I had the BEST time! Bet on my first horse race ever and won! Thanks to the nice cashier/teller (not sure what they’re called) who educated me on how to place a bet. The slots were hitting and the drinks were amazing! I hope to be back asap. Nicest people ever and a great way to spend a day!

My husband and I did enjoy staying here together. We love the slots & food etc the only thing we don’t like is how uncomfortable the beds are as each stay we have stayed here together definitely didn’t get any sleep due to the fact the beds are so stiff, The hot tub jacuzzi suite was very small couldn’t fit more than one person in the jacuzzi. I love Vernon Downs but as a casino and hotel guess we will pass on the hotel part for now on as everything else but that is great. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Very nice small Hotel and Casino. The employees are great and the meal options for a Wednesday night were very limited. The downfall for me was the temperature in the bar area was freezing to the point I was shivering!! Not good for someone that was looking to have a few cocktails and relax after a long day, only option go to bed early 🙄

We recently booked our wedding here and it was the best decision we could have made. So much was included for such a reasonable price! Our guests were able to book rooms for only $99 a night because they were having a winter special. We got the honeymoon suite complimentary for two nights, which was recently remodeled and had a great aesthetic. It comes with a Jacuzzi which was much needed! We also had use of their bridal suite which was bright and spacious and had everything we needed. Our ceremony and reception took place in the ballroom which was gorgeous, and easily fit our 150 guests with a large dance floor. We only heard great things about the food, and the portions were huge! The coordinator, the bartenders and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We couldn't be happier with our choice to book here!

Though we are probably not their typical guests we were very pleasantly surprised with our stay. This was the half way point on our summer road trip and we were just looking for place to crash for the night. The room was unbelievable! It was huge, clean and had so much to offer. The staff at the front desk were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I was traveling with my daughter and she absolutely loved this hotel. Beds were very comfortable, the only ding I would give them is there was no blanket or comforter just a doubled top sheet, so if you are a cold person you might want to bring your own. If you are interested in gambling the casino looked like a lot of fun. They had several restaurants to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.

Room not clean or as pictured or described in website description.1 handicapped bathroom states shower chair and pull bars, neither were present. 2. Refrigerator and microwave were both filthy. 3 There was a pile of dirt on the floor look like someone swept it together, but didn't sweep it up. 4 filters on air conditioner / heater were filthy. 5 window seal filthy and sticky. 6. Pillows were smaller than the accent pillows I have on my sofa. Also advertised (a big point in my book) selling point for free breakfast called to confirm free breakfast prior to placing reservation was assured they still had it upon check-in was told they no longer do the free breakfast. check in: check in time is at 3:00 we arrived at the hotel at 3:30 was informed our room was still being cleaned, clearly that was a lie at 4:30 we were allowed to go up to our room. Last thing I am going to say but certainly not least, pool and hot tub were awesome and the reason I stayed... My only issue was no towels in pool area, and when we requested them was told "sry but people use like 5 for a small child", the staff member did go hunt some down but was clearly unhappy in having to do so. Just a suggestion, but many other hotels I have visited have gone to having them behind the desk and guest can request on the way to the pool, 1 per person. Needless to say spent way too much money on the room food from the only restaurant open was mediocre at best, didn't win a thing at the casino lost more money there as well all in all the trip was a complete loss if you ask me. Will not be returning!

The Vernon Downs Casino Hotel was a good experience, but definitely could have been a little better.
PARKING: The parking lot was pretty large, but close enough that it was not a long walk to the front entrance. To those that have EVs, this hotel does not offer charging.
CHECK IN AND ROOM: The room was much better than expected for the price, and the check in process was smooth and I got into my room in minutes. A problem with this though, is that they didn't ask for ANY ID... which I found odd? Especially considering I booked 3rd party too- I literally could have just given them a name and gotten into a room. Then, my door was unlocked, and OPEN when I got to it- definitely a safety issue, especially for those traveling alone. Some of my pillows didn't have covers on them, the couch cushions weren't cleaned, and they didn't have room service (even though there is an updated room service menu in the room).
FOOD AND CHECKOUT: The restaurants on site are pretty okay, and I recommend checking out 777 if you're looking to ball on a budget. You can get a whole combo pizza meal for like $7! Check out was a breeze, and you just drop off your keys at the front desk. Here, I asked "do you happen to have a water fountain anywhere?" to which they replied "the bathroom sinks" ... maybe it's just me, but I think a simple no would have been better lol. I then headed to the complementary breakfast- which was definitely appreciated, but I want to warn is not continental by any means. It is small generic bagels you can put in a toaster, plain donuts, orange juice, tea, and that's pretty much it. It's right next to the track though, so depending when you go, it may be nice to sit on the track and watch the horses in the morning.
CASINO: I do not gamble, but I went though the casino to get to the 777 restaurant, and as someone who has gone to many casinos in the past- it seemed as a relatively average casino. There were many normal denomination slots, all virtual. I did not see any live tables, or non-virtual slots (then again, I didn't gamble, so maybe I missed something). I think the casino could be a good option if this is the closest to you, but it truly is a very generic experience in my opinion. It is 18+, and does not serve alcohol on the floor, but does have a bar you can go to. However, there are NOT many young people here.

I visited Wolf Mountain Nature Center this past weekend and had a truly amazing experience. Being a true conservancy, the wolves and coyotes live in very large enclosures that provide ample wild space. Despite the large enclosures and the fact that the wolves are crepuscular (active at dawn & dusk), I saw several of the wolves and coyotes during the guided walking tour. (I also learned the word “crepuscular” from the very knowledgeable tour guide.)
Our tour visited the two fox habitats just as sanctuary employees were entering the enclosures with “snacks” for the foxes. The snack was a really large feeding bowl with ice cubes, fish, blueberries, etc. The foxes were adorable and it was so fun to watch their enthusiasm as they clamored to get INTO the snack bowl & forage through the ice to get to the snacks.
I loved my visit to the sanctuary. I have never seen wolves in person before so this was a very special experience. My favorite animals were the two Timber Wolves that were laying on the grass and napping in the afternoon sun.
I chose to visit on a Sunday because I wanted to go on the tour. However, there were a lot of informational signs outside the enclosures so, if you can’t go on the tour, you can still learn a lot about these beautiful animals.

Did not see the whole casinos, pretty huge property. I will definitely visit again. There is also a 24 hr diner in addition to other restaurant choices

I am blown away by the level of service and the attention to detail. The grounds are beautifully decorated for Christmas. The check-in area is at a desk with seating for an intimate comfortable check-in. There was peppermint hot cocoa, cookies and cute packets for s’mores near check-in. Our room has a wrap around porch with a hot tub and an amazing view. We received welcome letters on beautiful stationary. There is a free shuttle to take you around the grounds. The gambling is super fun. This place is worth a visit! Oh and the turn down service is fabulous with the dream catcher. So cool!!

Have been here a bunch of times but finally tried more of the restaurants. Awesome food options (at every price range) and lots to do.
Update: our room this trip has AWESOME water pressure and no clogged drain which has made this experience even better!! Although not a fan of the wall dispensers with shampoo & conditioner as the little bottles had good quality conditioner!

My family loved Turning Stone, but there were a few things that needed improvement. The first is the family pool. I am not sure if a drain was backed up, or what, but it smelled atrocious the two times we went to the point my 3 and 7 year old asked to get out. I brought it up to the front desk at the spa, and she promptly called maintenance, but I guess it was out of their control as it smelled the same the following morning. Not to mention, some of the jets in the pool were rusted. Another issue I had was that I requested our car via a scanning option near the front desk, thinking I could set a time for it. Unfortunately, it was for an immediate request. I went to the front desk and a curly blond haired woman, I believe her name was Amy? Was very rude. In the past, at other properties we have stayed at, the front desk can radio valet to let them know about guest requests. This was not the case. She told me to go find the person in the red coat out front and they would help me. I didn't know what that meant, as the valet wears black. She got very impatient and snippy with me instead of escorting and helping me. I went out front after the interaction, feeling very anxious/upset that I did something wrong by asking for help, and a nice gentleman working for valet helped me.
The options for food were great, and I really appreciate the indications for food allergies at the buffet and the great coffee at Opals. Every other staff member we interacted with was wonderful!

Besides that I always lose here. It is a great place to just let loose, unwind, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends. Plus I love that it has a food court and multiple restaurants for fine dining. There is a gym, spa, and other activities to do besides gambling. I haven't stayed in any of their rooms, but I would love to so I could write a review for it as well. I overall like going here for bingo with my wife when we're feeling lucky, but I have never won from here. It's generally a great place to just have fun and mingle including that they have tons of bars, and a dance club called Lava, for anyone who wants to go dancing, and mingle with the other singles. I've honestly never been there either but have always wanted to just to see what it's all about. However my wife may not approve. She's quite the jealous type if you know what I mean. 😉 So take a chance to go and visit it yourself and make your own opinion on it. Stay safe out there and enjoy life!

I recently visited Turning Stone and had an absolutely fantastic time! The atmosphere was electric and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The casino floor was well-organized and had a wide variety of games to choose from, including all of my favorites like blackjack, roulette, and slot machines. The table limits were also very accommodating, so I was able to find a game that suited my budget.
One of the things I appreciated most about Turning Stone was the attention to detail. The décor was beautiful and the atmosphere was lively, but not overwhelming. The restrooms were clean and well-maintained, and the overall ambiance of the casino was just perfect.
In addition to the gaming options, Turning Stone also had a top-notch restaurant and bar on site. The food was delicious and the drinks were well-made. I also appreciated the fact that there were non-alcoholic options available for those who prefer not to drink.
Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful time at Turning Stone and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was electric, and the amenities were top-notch. I can't wait to visit again!

This was my first visit to TS for a Tom Jones Concert.
Security was top-notch. I was really surprised at how quick they were to speak with guest who were out of line as well as deal with spills.
The concert venue for seating was great. No bad seat in the house, but seats are small! Very old school high school narrow.
The Roster BBQ and Bar had awesome food. Everything we had was delishious. Our server was very attentive. He was the best server we have had anywhere since before COVID.
After the concert, we went back and checked out the Exit 33 after 9 pm Nightlife. Great bands at each bar. I was surprised at the need for tablets...reading lyrics?
Entertaining evening people watching!

Spent the day at Skana, it was incredible as always. Had dinner at Pino, which was a 1st for us. My wife got the Buratta Ravioli.I got the Veal Marsala, both meals pretty good, and had enough leftovers for the next day. For Apps, we got the baked Ricotta, which I've never had, and it was tasty, we also got the Baked Meatball, it was huge enough for 2 people. Finished up with flourless chocolate cake, which we recommend. Ended up at the Gig for Emo Night, band was good, did a lot of cover songs, crowd got a little out of hand, guitarist had to come off stage to yell at a heckler who was screaming "Creed" all night after every song they sang which became annoyingly funny, pretty surprised TS Security let it go all night, they are usually on top of that kind of stuff. Great weekend getaway.

We have seen several concerts here at different locations with the casino. Every one has had great sound and lighting. There are tons of places to eat for every price range.
The last concert was a tribute band. I was not happy that we had to sit the whole time in the showroom. I would rather have a pit to stand in for people that want to stand.

We stayed two nights and had a great time. My husband played in the "monster stack" tournament and I played the slot machines. The restaurants had delicious food; the staff in the entire facility were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Everything was very clean; there were lots of stores and restaurants and slot machines. So much fun, can't wait to return! Thanks Turning Stone Resort's! 😍

Turning stone is a fun and clean casino. They have a lot of options other then gambling. Their spa is on of my favorites in NY. The night life is great as well. We went to both “Turquoise” and “The Gig”. The Theme of each club, and especially the performances were amazing. Only thing when coming here is to bring extra money. You are obviously going to lose it in the Casino 🤣

We always have a great time here. On this trip we stayed in the Tower for the first time and loved it. The King room was very spacious, well appointed, clean, comfortable and all that we required.
The restaurants are all awesome and we've never been disappointed. Make sure you see the concierge to get a reservation as they have more access than the front desk clerks.
The Bingo was fun but crazy overwhelming for rookies like us. We would have been less stressed with half the cards we got but there was a special deal. I think the electronic version would have been better too but it was so much more expensive.
At the card tables, you get a mix of friendly and helpful dealers and some that barely say a word and never smile. I don't stay at the unfriendly ones very long.
The machines....well they are what they are and results may vary.
I love the sports betting/viewing area too, but just wish it was larger to accommodate more people as seating fills up fast on Sundays for football.
I haven't attended any of the entertainment shows they have here yet but hope to in the future.
Oh and I really appreciate that they have plenty of EV charging stations in the parking garage!
Overall, this is a really good resort with all the amenities you could want.

It's more like a tourist attraction than a casino. This place is pretty nice but the machines don't really pay out.
Food was ok but way overpriced. It is huge and easy to get lost in this place. Could be better in my opinion. I don't know. I just wasn't feeling it.

Came solely for poker! Casino was nice and staff was excellent.
The poker room is right in the Center and has around 20-30 tables. The lighting inside is good, good seats but downside was it had terrible chips and not clean tables/room. Wouldn’t say it’s the nicest poker room but it does offer a bad beat jackpot and high hand….
The room could definitely use some new chips and renovations. But had fun playing poker

Drove up from NC to spend the week there. There isn’t a whole lot to do there other than gamble. There’s not much in the way of shows and entertainment. The restaurants are top quality. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. The Pitt Boss at the craps table isn’t / wasn’t friendly or welcoming. I played one game and left, never to play another roll at the tables.
The bingo hall is outstanding and the prize money even during non special event days is great. Bingo was lots of fun and they (staff) are definitely willing to help out first time players. Staying a few days is probably best, a week is a bit much as you’ll quickly run out of things to do.
Small, retro fun park offers family rides, bumper cars/boats, mini-golf, carousel & carnival treats.
Went to Lake House casino. I played the slots and came out ahead. Already crowded and the lake is still frozen. Probably won't visit often because parking is very limited. Way too much congestion in this tiny village in good weather for me but obviously not for other people.

so fun and cheap for an amusement park. rides are very fun! the beach is nice and there is a restaurant there that I definitely recommend. I did a ghost tour one night there which was really fun too. nothing haunted happened but after doing the tour I watched the show ghost hunters and they did an investigation there which was cool. the time we happened to be at sylvan beach there was a fireworks show and they were the most impressive fireworks I’ve ever seen

Nice place to visit. Took our 2 girls and got them the unlimited ride bands. Unfortunately they were not able to use them o. The water boat bumper cars. You need to purchase an additional 3 ticket each at $1.75 per ticket. I feel this is ridiculous after I just $70 for them to have unlimited rides. Besides that, they had a great time and liked the games as well. All the rides and games are very old and need renovations. We had lunch at a little shop within the park and it was not worth it at all. I wish I would have known earlier about the additional restaurants across the street. One of my girls got a slice of cheese pizza and it looked like it had been reheated several times. She couldn't even eat it. Overall the girls had fun and it was a nice day. Probably will not visit again.

I think we spent all summer here this year. Definitely going to look in to getting season passes for next year. If you're not swimming, then relax on the beach, or go fishing, or ride rides, or play games, or go to the playground or eat..there's always enough to do in this tiny park. And then right outside of it as well either shops, bars, candy stores, wine slushies, ice cream stands and gift shops. It's free to enter, but $10 to park, if you park inside the amusement park/Beach.

On a road trip from Ohio visiting amusement parks in PA and NY and made a stop here for a few hours. This place feels just like a nostalgic seaside amusement park from the 50s.
We were totally blown away by Galaxy, their roller coaster. It was so much fun that we rode it several times. The staff was friendly, but a bit short handed. They were able to cover all the rides though.
They have so many spinny flat rides and some serious classics. They have one of only 6 surviving Roll-O-Plane rides left in existence! They also have a pretty rare Pretzel fun house. The Scrambler is in great shape and is currently the oldest one I was ridden!
Andy Kachelmeier — Google review
Love going here with my kids or my friends to play the arcade games. It's a shame half the games don't work and the other half only work as far as playing goes but won't give you the tickets you're owed. We started to feel really bad about having to ask the poor overwhelmed employee to come look at the machines and give us the proper amount of tickets. It's still a fun time to go play some ski ball but, I would not say any ride there is worth the $5.25-$7 each ride costs. The nostalgia is still very alive but the infrastructure is failing faster by the day. It's too bad the economy has made it impossible to bring it back to it's glory. Glad it's still open though, the day it closes permanently would be a very sad day I hope never comes.
Sarah Tarot — Google review
A neat old timey park which is like stepping into a time capsule. A lot of the games need work, but the prices are low so you can't expect perfection.
Bill Cherkasky — Google review
I visited for the nostalgia. I was looking forward to playing the old time games like skee ball on the same machines I had played on as a child at Playland. While the very same machines are there, it seemed that they had not been serviced in decades. Many were completely out of order, while others only partly worked. Without the lights working it made it nearly impossible to track your score when rolling the balls and without the lights and sounds it just didn't seem as fun. I visit every couple of years, but this time it was so disappointing and sad, I probably will not be back. As you can tell by the pictures, the place was totally dead. We were the only people at each attraction we stopped at in the amusement park late afternoon on a Friday in August

I absolutely love this park! If you want to enjoy an old school theme park by the lake take the time to visit.
Visited Critz for the first time in years with my family! We got in with no parking issues, no wait lines. Plenty of space to park with a small fee. The pumpkin patch was huge and a great selection. Variety of kids activities to keep them occupied from tractor rides, animals, slides, and more. A great destination for fall activities. The little shop had all sorts of goodies, decent prices. Good food options all around. Will be back next year 😄

Had a great time. There are lots of interesting farm related things to do. Beer and wine tasting, apple picking, pumpkin picking, cider, and doughnuts. Many activities for the kids. Including petting zoo, haunted house, playgrounds, and various games. Wagon rides are available. The gift shop is well stocked with trinkets and snacks to make your visit memorable. I recommend you check it out. But be aware that some dates will be better than others depending on what activities are going on.

My grandchildren really enjoyed feeding the animals and playing on the play ground. I literally had to remove them kicking and screaming. Even late in October, there were many pumpkins 🎃 to choose from. We were able to purchase apples 🍎, which the kids picked out there own bags. I will visit again to enjoy the wine and beer tasting area. Overall great experience😊.

Kid friendly place for kids up to about age 12. There’s different hand built wooden play structures slides, and sand box for the kids to play on. We seen goats and and 2 small horses that come to the gate to be pet/fed. Adult drinks available and it’s free to enter. Was quiet and calm vibes besides the kids yelling. Would definitely go again, probably during fall when more is in season.

Great place to visit - alone or with family. Animals very well taken care of, staff friendly and helpful. So many beautiful cats - the sloth is adorable. Everywhere I looked people were smiling, really enjoyable place and you can tell the workers love what they're doing and where they are working.

Cool zoo, feeding the giraffes were pretty fun! Train is skippable, not much to see there and it was so slow, you can save some feeding stuff for the drive thru Safari too! Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area! Fun activity for kids and families.

Visited today for the first time since they opened a few years ago. Loved how much it expanded and how healthy the animals look. It was great being able to see the animals as well. My reasoning for 4 stars was the staffs riding around on the gators. They drive extremely fast for a place full of kids walking around. The staff also weren’t the politest when asking our 2 year old to move for them to continue flying around the park. The drive through safari was great and we all loved that experience.

We've been to the drive through safari several times and have always had a great experience. This time, we decided to try The Beast - the open-air tour-guided bus. Our guide narrated almost the entire hour of our tour, making it very interesting and informative. The openness of the bus makes the animals a little more accessible than they are when you drive through in your own vehicle and it was easy for both people in the seat to feed the animals. It's not an inexpensive experience, but it's worth it, and it's a wonderful attraction for our small community. When you drive through with your own vehicle, you have an opportunity to purchase the zoo admission at a discount with a combo-package. However, when you tour the safari on The Beast, there is no combo available to attend the zoo. This was my only disappointment. PS - the bus was full of people during the tour - the group photo shown here was only our family photo op after the tour. :)

My friend and I went to the Wild Animal Park and had an amazing time. The facility was clean, the staff was happy and friendly and most importantly the animals all had very nice enclosures that seemed so much nicer than other zoos I have seen. We did the parakeet encounter which was so cool, we fed the giraffes which was intimidating but well worth it and we also did the sloth encounter which was the neatest experience we have ever had. We did buy the combo pass so we did the safari as well. The safari was neat, but not for the faint of heart with how pushy ostrich’s can be haha Overall, I highly recommend going to the wild animal park!!

The Wild is a great place to see a large variety of animals as well as feed some. They have all the large Cats and two types of Bears. Giraffes and penguins, too.
You can pay more for one on one experiences with some animals, not the dangerous ones.
There are places to eat, pan for gems or fossils, feed Giraffes, or close yourself in a house full of colorful little hungry parakeets with a seed stick (my personal nightmare) and three bounce houses (decent sized under a roof with an arcade).
The Wild has improved and grown itself over the years into a wonderful place to bring family friends and children for a few hours or all day and if you have children should be on your summer to do list.

Wow! Love this big zoo! Lots of bigger animals to see and it’s so impressive to see them moving around (lucky day! Sometimes they’re very sleepy). We also paid extra to feed giraffes with carrots, so much fun>.< drive in safari was not open yet for the season but they do have it. Also, kids favorite bouncy house! Extra 3-5 bucks for it.

Awesome drive through animal park. Tons of animals and you get to feed them with cups of feed you buy at the entrance. Staff was great and all of the animals were super friendly. Highly recommend, just be prepared for the animals to rub on your vehicle, whether you have food or not.

I always enjoy coming here. It's so much more interactive than other zoos. My daughter always looks forward to The Wild. I think this is her 4th visit?
There were some new or different animals since the last time I came, which is nice. I think we spent more time feeding the giraffes and goats than doing anything else
My only complaint is that it's getting more expensive. I understand that it's not cheap running the place. I get it, and I cannot imagine the costs involved just with feed alone
We'll be returning again before the weather gets cold, I'm sure. Maybe next time we'll spend more time feeding the ducks that time
2 glacial lakes cast a green glow at this serene park with wooded trails & an 18-hole golf course.
Went here for a company picnic and golf. I am by no means a golfer, but the place was beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking and the course was immaculate. I quite enjoyed the time spent there and would gladly go back! Picnic area was spacious and the facilities were very well kept. Tons of walking paths and lots of area to explore. Review for campground: This is a large spread-out campground offering mostly level sites with a mixture of mature trees and grass . All Trailer sites have electric. Roads are paved and in excellent condition. Bathrooms and showers are relatively new and housed in a single private configuration. Definitely bring along the bikes to roam this beautiful campground as well as the Erie Canal trails which are accessible from the park. There is, of course, the renowned Green Lakes and the awesome beach. This is one of New York State’s finest campgrounds.

Great place to take the kids for a day at the park and swimming at the lake. Many trails around the state park but we like the walk around the main lake and the back lake which is about 3 miles approx. This place is absolutely amazing but I only feel you get the full experience of the scenery if it's a bright sunny day. It will affor you views of the water that will make the longest drive to get there worth it. I still would love to see the other lakes that are similar to these ones. There's another one close by and I believe 4 more within the state. The trail around the lakes are very easy and doable mainly flat. There is also a place to swim bit otherwise you must stay out of the water and off the coral to protect it. Stunning place and their are also trails off those the lake trails and a golf course. Camping also available.

This is the most beautiful lakes that I’ve ever been to I can’t for summer time to go back. It’s a nice place for walking, jogging, family hangout and barbecuing, solo hangout a big play ground for kids and clean & plenty restrooms.
If you just want to sit and read Near the water and enjoy cool breeze, beautiful sky then this is the place. It’s beautiful to look at and very very green a place for a simple nice date.
There are lots of college students there and safety wise, there’s police station just a cross the road. I didn’t see places to buy food like food truck or anything so carry some food with you maybe summer time they sell food.
They have kayaks for rent I am not sure how much they charge. I didn’t pay to get in not sure if they charge during summer.

Absolutely beautiful! A hidden gem in New York State! Extremely clean and well maintained park. We parked in parking lot for stairs to trails around the lake which took a bit to find as it was not well marked where to go from parking lot…only negative I could say about this parked. I visited Green Lakes for the first time in over 20 years. It was just as beautiful as I remembered it to be!
The water is so clear and stunningly turquoise! The trails are very well maintained. The clear bottom boats are a great addition.
It was absolutely paced with people, but it didn't feel crowded. Everyone seemed pleasant and respectful.
If I had one criticism, I would recommend only using the restrooms up by Round Lake as a last resort. On a hot summer day it is not a pleasant experience!
I loved the addition of the placards explaining how unique the nature of the lake is.
It was also clearly a great place to bring your dogs! There were many dogs along the way.
This is an absolute must for all outdoor enthusiasts!

The green Lake is such a pretty serene place to spend a summer evening! The lake is actually green in color and so clear. There is a boat house that offers kayak, crystal boat and row boat rides but we went there on a weekend and it had been booked to capacity for the day. The trail around the lake is great to walk in and we completed half of it. There is a small cafe that sells pizza and some snacks right beside the lake as well.
The best part of this state park is the beach where you can swim. There are lifeguards on duty and there is even a place to dive into the lake. It was so much fun and we easily spent an hour swimming. It gets less crowded by evening and it felt like we had the beach to ourselves! Loved this lake.. there is also a beautiful falls, Chittenango about 15 minutes away!

One of the most beautiful places I ever seen in my life! The water is beautiful and crystal clear just like the photos. Perfect place to bring your family. There is also a swimming section, kids park, hiking trail , food for sell and multiple grill stations and great parking space.
I came with a regular size SUV and only payed $10 for the entire day.

I was amazed by this park and the color of the water in both lakes. You can swim, sun, walk around two wonderful paths. It is truly a remarkable natural wonder. If you go, rent one of the glass-bottomed kayaks and explore the area. It's a nice place for a picnic and there are places to rent for an overnight stay.

Was not real easy to find. However was worth the trip. A very nice level hike around the lake was great for a couple short hikers. Nice bathrooms and plenty of parking and the park staff are clearly doing there job with keeping the trails cleared and clean. The service comment is for the golf course restaurant, not well marked for directions but is located at the top of the hill. great service and the staff treat you like they really are pleased you are there.

Honestly this is a 5 star park, but there was no indication anywhere that the All Terrain Wheelchair is not available in the winter/weekends?? I traveled so far to come to a park that I can access as a disabled person because the All Terrain Wheelchair was advertised well for this park, but when we arrived it was not there and there was not a single person to ask at the park or on the phone. Super disappointed, I only managed to complete about 1/4 of the trail loop in my regular manual wheelchair because the gravel is not well packed and it's not paved.

Easy trails with only a few short inclines. The lakes are beautiful and the informational plaques around the trails are super interesting. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful nice hike 44 stairs down to the top of the falls

A great nature trail with a rewarding view
I adventured to the falls with a friend while visiting. Very family friendly trail. Parking lot can be busy at times. The trail is a very easy walk out to the falls and back. There is a trail the goes to the bottom of the falls but it is very steep and not for kids. It had rained the night before and with the added wetness, we decided to not try that trail.
I will agree with some of the other users that the view of the falls is slightly obstructed by tree cover. Don’t let that be a deterrent though. This is a beautiful waterfall that is definitely worth seeing.

Beautiful River Falls near Syracuse, NY. Easy parking available nearby, with falls visible only 5 minute walk from car park. Did not go on any of longer trails but great views during springtime.

Embarking on the journey to Salmon River Falls in New York was nothing short of breathtaking. Despite its short length, the Gorge Trail offers an exhilarating adventure that takes hikers down 600 feet into the gorge and back up again.
The compact .1-mile trail might seem brief, but the steep descent and ascent make for an invigorating hike. The rugged terrain adds an element of challenge, while the anticipation of what lies ahead keeps you motivated every step of the way.
Upon reaching the bottom, the payoff is immediate and awe-inspiring. The powerful cascade of Salmon River Falls cascades majestically, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery. The sound of rushing water and the mist in the air create a sensory experience that's both invigorating and serene.
As you make the ascent back to the top, the views from above offer a different perspective, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the landscape from a higher vantage point. The effort required to complete the trail is well worth it for the unparalleled vistas that await.
Salmon River Falls is a hidden gem in New York, offering a short but exhilarating hike that rewards visitors with stunning natural beauty. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a memorable outdoor adventure, this destination is not to be missed.

Great waterfall! Very steep to get down to waterfall, but there are steps. Would not recommend going in water past the wast. Water is deep enough to drown especially near the fall even for a great swimmer due to power of the fall. Would highly recommend good floating devices. Hike back up is difficult and the view from the top of the fall is highly overrated.

Nice short hike to the top of the falls, great view from the overlooks and amazing view from the top of the falls, really cool to see old engravings from the 1930- present day.

Nice place to visit. You can walk all the way to the bottom of falls.

Nice falls. Very short hike. It’s rather hard to get good pictures of this falls due to all the trees. There are trails down to the bottom of the falls. The steps down the side of the hill are rough and somewhat muddy.

The Salmon River Falls is a stunning 110 for waterfall in Oswego County, New York! The trail that leads you to the falls from above is less than half a mile to the falls and can be considered pretty user-friendly for all ages and abilities. The trail going down to the gorge with the rock stairs is a little more challenging. Overall, it is a wonderful area with an absolutely beautiful waterfall! I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the central New York area.

Easily seen with a short walk, one of the few places that allows river walking. Bald eagles in the area so be on the lookout.

Very beautiful scenery. I would recommend the top of the falls, because that had the best view. Will go again.
