Very nice. Quite a few trails with beautiful small waterfalls throughout. The trails are fairly easy. Quiet and peaceful. Enjoy!

First time camping here and loved it! It's a smaller park - only 20 sites & some are quite close together! There are tons of little beautiful trails to explore and enjoy. Not sure if this is the norm here but while camping in April, saw a ton of caterpillars - found out they are Forest Tent Caterpillars. Also there is one restroom area here with three stalls and one shower. Weirdly, this park is known for having a golf course. Definitely check out this gem to get away from the city and chill!

Lovely, well kept little rv campground. Full hook ups, good price, great value. Bathroom has a hot shower. Hiking trails were great with the kids. My Verizon signal was almost nonexistent, scraped by. We’d go back for sure! Lockhart is a great little town!!

Had a great time with the family. All park rangers were nice. Cute trail for kids that has a story book as you walk through. Very quiet. Definitely will go back.
Miranda Jacobs-Boswell — Google review
Nice small state park. The full hookup sites are close together in a circle, so you can make friends with everybody. The restrooms could use some funding for updating. Still, a nice place to stay not far from Austin.

Nice park. Enjoyed a day out here with a picnic. The river trail is a nice cool walk for the dogs. They were able to cool off in parts of the creek.

I really enjoyed my first visit to this state park. While not the largest park, I was impressed by the many interconnecting shorter trails which have their own distinct personalities. I parked by the beautifully ccc-constructed recreation hall. Starting down the ccc trail.... I walked all of the trails with the exception of the hilltop trail (which is a shortcut from the southern edge of the park) in about 90 minutes which included many stops to read informational signs and for photo ops.
Finished off with lunch on one of the rec hall benches.
I would count all the trails as easy, but for those not sure-footed, loose rocks on steep downward or upward sections may be of concern.
Well worth another visit!

One of my favorite state parts because of the small trails under the trees. I lost my credit card on the trail and two ladies found it and called the park ranger Jennifer. Jennifer looked up my phone number, as I am a state park member and let me know immediately. Jennifer is definitely a class act, and I appreciate the ladies who found my card.

We enjoy hiking in the park. Nice trails. The rangers are friendly and helpful. We took our new dog the last time we were there and he joined the area as well.

Very pretty park with a nice creek, some short waterfalls, and some great spring wildflowers.

Nice little state park. Can have big party at the recreation building on top of a hill, over looking the 9 hole golf course.
Facilities are better than none.

Nice small state park. Nice campground with full hook ups that is well kept. Has a golf course too. There's a small river in the park where people fish. There are trails but they are short. In warm weather, there is also a pool.
Daniel Randolph — Google review
Lovely state park - perfect walking trails
All the trails are short but with most of them going through minor elevations, this can be a good workout on a weekend.
Most of the trails are a combination of mud and gravels, except clear fork trail - that’s mostly mud. With that said, consider avoiding clear fork trail after the rain or cross over through the creek side- the slopes get slippery and muddy.
Happy travels

We enjoyed a short hike along a small creek on Memorial Day. Was not crowded at all and very peaceful. There is a golf course and swimming pool though we didn't see anyone at either. Very nice destination before stopping for BBQ in Lockhart.
Tim Airhart — Google review
Small fee to get in. Super cheap golf, they are redoing the greens. Decent easy to moderate hiking. Fishing is very small areas, but pretty, all I saw being caught was small mouth bass 1lb or less. Lots of hanging caterpillars so check each other that you don't take home a new friend! 🤣
5,200-acre park with hiking & horseback riding trails, campsites, river swimming & scenic vistas.
My daughter and I loved this park. Her favorite to date! We spent a couple of hours as it was getting dark soon and we’re already planning our next trip and making sure we have at least half a day to truly enjoy it. So much to see and it’s beautiful! The park personnel was also friendly and just great! Hill country must see.

Perfect for the family! There hasn't been much rain lately, so the falls were pretty dry. Also, the Blue-Green Algae was abundant and you couldn't get in the water. However, it was still a lovely site to see. Nice shaded picnic area and lots of trails if you need to get a good hike in. It is only $6 for adults and if the kiddos are under 12 they are free! We went on a weekday so it was less crowded than weekends. I would suggest buying passes online prior to visiting.

We had a blast checking out this state park. The flowers were in full bloom and the water was chilly but not freezing. If you’re packing a lot of stuff be prepared to carry it a good ways as there’s a pretty good distance walk from the parking lot to the steps then to the river. There’s a good bit of steps to take but it was worth the walk. We had a great time at the park all day.
Clinton Moon — Google review
A well maintained park with large camp sites, covered table and fire pit. My pad was long and level, quite secluded. Showers were clean with lots of hot water. The park has many miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails. They have a nice bird blind maintained by an on-site volunteer. While I did have TV reception cell service with T-moble was mostly non existent, at least where I parked. It's a little off the beaten path but that makes it quiet and very dark at night. I'd go back.
Tim Flagg — Google review
Great hiking on rocks with small water springs all around. We also took the trail you have to cross the river (take shoes off) and went up the hill to see the overlook. Well worth it but there’s no bathrooms and a few small benches for a quick rest, so be prepared.
Amy — Google review
This is a great park with many trails passing through woods, fields and of course the river area. Can be crowded. Swimming is allowed down river and I hear lovely though personally I have not done it. Been here many times and I recommend outside if peak summer because you can bake like a potato. Best advice if you are interested in river is to time a trip after seasonal rain.
Jason Oneal — Google review
This is really a beautiful place. Picturesque waterfall. It is big enough to walk or bike, you will need a few days to see all its trails. During this dry season the river is very shallow and calm, unlike last year's same dates, but anyway we had a lot of fun.
And, of course, fruitful wildlife! Raccoons, armadillos, deer, many different kinds of colorful birds and fish. the bird blind is well designed. And in the star theater we saw a stunning sunset.
Anastasia Cherkasova — Google review
We’ve been here several times and always enjoy it. There are many trails and camping. The falls are interesting to explore and there’s a swimming area a bit down the river. It’s a beautiful park with a ton of variety. Definitely get your park pass in advance, especially in the summer, as entry is limited and can fill quickly. The drive to the park is also pretty.
Sabrina K — Google review
Turned out to be my best sunset in nature during the trip. I was very pleased to get to camp here and scope out the falls before returning the next day for the sunset. It turned out to be the perfect evening with the overcast. I had a nice and tranquil time in the swimming area as well. The river water was nice and warm even in early summer.
Michael James — Google review
I've enjoyed visiting Pedernales for many years. Nowadays it can get very crowded as the sprawl from Austin gets closer and the secret of the park's beauty becomes known to more people. Be sure to use the Texas State Parks website to schedule your visit, especially if you're planning an overnight stay. Lots of campsites with varying amenities to suit everyone. Most areas are dog friendly and there is a bird blind where, if you're quiet, you can watch a variety of birds.
Amanda Rogers — Google review
This is a super nice park! To be honest, the walk to the river wasn’t very impress, so it made it so much more mouth-dropping when it first comes into sight! It’s beautiful—the water is stunning, and the rocks in the riverbed are a delight to climb on and explore! Overall, I would highly recommend; it’s definitely worth the drive!
The restrooms are also pretty good for a park bathroom; it’s nicely air-conditioned and it’s kept clean!
Eliana Pyle — Google review
While I was there I honestly could not wait to plan a return trip back. It was amazing. I did not wanna leave. The one the water was low so we were able to crawl all over the rocks and explore. It was clean. The sky was big and beautiful. And the parking area was relatively close to the falls, so if you aren’t a hiker and need a more level trail it is not a difficult path to an amazing view. We did take one trail from the Falls back to the parking but I can’t remember the name of it. It was more difficult than I expected with bigger rocks and steeper hills, but it followed the Pedernales river and had beautiful sites. After exploring the Falls we went to go check out the swimming area and it was definitely not what I expected. The stair workout to get down there and back out is a serious work out. So many steps to climb. We were only there for a day pass and didn’t take time to check out any camping spots. The falls are definitely what you were there to see, but beware swimming is prohibited on the falls section.
Jenny Murray — Google review
Took the family here for a day trip to hike and see the falls. We had a blast, it's so pretty and serene. Very quiet. Some trails were very easy, even partly paved, others more strenuous but my 3 year old did it. Even though we are in a drought, the water was still moving nicely, we even jumped in for a dip at the end of our hike. We will definitely be back.
Airwrecka Chat — Google review
I had a great time hiking the trail and across the rocks to see all of the waterfalls. The rangers working at the park were all very friendly and helpful in giving advice on an annual park pass and on how best to see all of the falls.
It was raining lightly when I went, so there were some pretty slick spots to navigate, but it was a great experience. The falls were all running heavily because of the recent rains, and it was gorgeous.

Visiting Pedernales falls state park for the first time for stories in the stars stargazing night. It’s a fantastic place for stargazing around Austin. Rangers was pretty impressive with story telling where they have brought telescope to look for stars and galaxy in sky. At star theater, there were rocks you can just sit or lay down to see beautiful dark night sky with full of stars and moon moving between the clouds with clear view. At first, I feel disappointed at first with cloudy sky and later it was cleared off. Had a amazing experience definitely worth a visit.
Vinay Chitneni — Google review
This park is not for the weak. It is a major hike down, then back up, to access the swimming area. The Falls area is almost as tough. Beautiful area, great birding opportunities with the dual blinds. I need to go back for the night sky views.
Stephanie Hall — Google review
It's one of my favorite state parks in Texas. The water is absolutely gorgeous. The terrain is incrediblely unique due to the river bed erosion. Lots of challenging hikes, so bring a good pair of shoes. One negative thing that I will say is that so many people wrote all over the stones. Almost every inche is covered in graffiti.. Please leave no trace people..
Anna Moss — Google review
Fantastic state park. We stayed for the night camping, and the tent sites are top tier. Showers are clean and have warm water. You cannot miss going to the actual falls area, its incredible with lots of area to explore especially if you dont mind climbing and hiking
Nathaniel Bilby — Google review
We visited on 12/17/23 and were pleasantly surprised. There were no waterfalls, but the pools of water were absolutely gorgeous! Crystal clear water, rocks to climb (most not too dangerous), small caves, butterflies, etc. Very peaceful! $6/pp or $70 for an annual pass. We drove by the camping area to check it out, and it looked nice and clean with a shelter spot with a picnic table, power, and water spicket. Merchandise such as t-shirts and beverages available at the check-in headquarters. Both men that waited on us at the drive-thru station and in the headquarters were very polite. Also, dog friendly, but must be on a leash!

This was an awesome state park with so many hiking trails. Trammells crossing was great you have to cross the river early on in the trail, you will 100% get wet crossing here, so have a plan, I removed my shoes before crossing and put them back on other people had large plastic bags. The trail was pretty legit I’d recommend the extra spur on the south side, one a the best parts of the trail and the river overlook on the north is one a the best views in the park.
The wolf mountain loop was nice with solid views all around, it connects with a number of other trails, I ended up taking on the Jones spring trail, and hiked back to the parking lot using part of the juniper ridge trail which was really awesome, one of my favorites.
The falls area was fun to explore I walked the west falls area and explored the rocks and lower falls areas.
It was winter time so I didn’t do much swimming but it looked like a great park for it. It rained a lot and the trails can get slick so bring good hiking shoes.
The electric camping area I stayed at was great the spots area reasonably spaced out, bathrooms with showers are available.
This was a great park and experience highly recommend.

This is a nice place for a day outing. You can enter the park with a 6 USD/ person fee, as well as season pass and camping facilities are available. There are several spots inside the park to drive to, out of those the overlook and the swimming area are most interesting. From the overlook the cascades of the fall are visible and the water color is pretty neat. It's good for a little walk toward the cascades and the rocks too. Just as a note, no drones are allowed for photography purposes.

Perfect for adults and kids. Don't forget to peer into the small pools, as many of them hold tadpoles, frogs, and tiny fish. It's a quick hike down to the falls and pools. You can spend a lot of time exploring. I recommend going early, as there is little to no shade.
Janet Evans — Google review
Amazing hiking experience! The views are stunning and there are a lot of hiking trail options available. Ranging from short to long hikes, or easy to hard. The people in the office are extremely friendly and very helpful since it was our first time in this park!

Awesome place with plenty to see and do. You can camp, swim, bike, hike, this place is great for families. We tried the primitive camping this last time we went, don’t recommend if you have younger children; the view and experience was well worth it.

Secluded state park in the hill country. Camping sites with electricity and water. Good distance between most sites. We had a site on the outside rim that was very deep. Our only complaint was the parking blocks placed on the sides of the site for parking the trailer. One was located just below our steps creating a tripping hazard, and could not adjust the trailer location at this site for it not to be in the way. I have camped and nearly 10 Texas state parks in the last couple of years and these are unnecessary. On the plus, great trails for hiking.

Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room
Distillery
Food & Drink
Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room is a great spot to hang with friends while sipping any number of their flavored vodkas. My favorite is probably the peach vodka and they have many cocktails to choose from. We went on a Sunday where there were local vendors there too as well as live music. Head to Dripping Springs for the great tasting room. Unfortunately, the distillery near Buda is not one that is open to the public, so the tasting room is where to go.

We were glad we stopped by for a visit. The bartenders fixed us right up and the outdoor seating was great on a perfect spring day. We enjoyed a cocktail flight as well as one in a mason jar while chilling outside for a bit. We then found some cool items in the gift shop before ending our visit. It’s definitely worth a stop!!

Had a great visit with manager, Michelle and a couple other staff members! They had just restarted their tours post-pandemic and they were great with our 19 family members. They talked through the history, the distillation process, and gave some great recommendations for cocktails. Everyone really enjoyed it!

Amazing experience! I work in Houston and wanted to get out of the area for the weekend . We made a quick trip to Dripping Springs and I looked up local things to do. We had such a great experience at Deep Eddys ! All the staff were friendly, I learned a lot about their history. My new favorite drink is Ruby Red with Soda and lime. I cannot wait to visit again !

Me and my friends did a vodka tasting here and had an amazing time! We already loved Deep Eddy, and I was definitely excited to try all the flavors but I was also surprised how much we got to learn about the way vodka is made and the history of the company! It was super interesting and I'm definitely sold on the brand after learning about how much they prioritize using real ingredients for the flavors. David really knew his stuff and I would definitely recommend the experience. They also had live music and a barbecue food truck so there's plenty to hang out and do.
sydney rollins — Google review
Such a good place to go with friends. We had a group of 10 and went at 12 on Saturday and there was plenty of seating! The drinks were so tasty (of course, I mean it’s the best vodka around!) the BBQ food truck was also super good. All around- a good place to go!! Can’t wait to go back!
Frances Venditte — Google review
I can't stress this enough, the best vodka bar on earth. The managers know how to please. And the Food might also be one of the best hidden gems in central Texas. Marcus is a connoisseur of meats. His crawfish is par excellence. Can I also shout out the bartenders? Every drink was perfect. It's not fair to do things this well. The redhead bartender though, watch out, she will steal your heart.
bender rodriguez — Google review
They had live music inside which was pretty cool. Our Deep Eddy Betty’s were delicious but not super strong! The whole environment was pretty cool and typical of a distillery. I guess the only reason I’m docking it a star is because the tasting room where the live music was felt more like a lunchroom. I loved the layout with the picnic tables but it was too bright in the setting and wasn’t super relaxing. And it was kind of just a wide open space with minimal decor. It just kinda felt like a school lunchroom. But I’d definitely go back!

Freaking cool place. Drinks good, but vibe takes the win. Decor for the holidays, sofas, downstairs huge seating and bar area with TV's for football hell ya. Bbq foodcart

Pretty cool vibe and a great place to hang out with friends while enjoying Texas very own Deep Eddy!!!

It's a nice experience, perfect for a daytime date or a pitstop. I only had one drink which was Deep Eddy's version of a Long Island. It wasn't quite there for a Long Island. I think the soda water hurt it. Overall, the atmosphere was chill and the setup fits right in to a Austin, Texas vibe.

My first time here. I’ve been a fan of Deep Eddy Vodka so it was nice to visit and enjoy the experience. It’s easy to fine, good amount of parking, cute little gift shop and nice mix drinks. I they also have good quality drink cards along the wall with drink recipes for each flavor so that was nice. There’s plenty of seats to set from lobby, outdoors to inside tasting room. They had enough staff at the bar so getting drinks didn’t take too long. All their souvenirs are decently priced so that was also plus. The bathroom are nice and cleaned. The only downside is that there’s no food and the food truck they had today wasn’t good at all. I had the nachos and the chips were stale and nacho flavor was sweet. I didn’t like it. Overall great experience and I would go back.
Kristie — Google review
We enjoy that Deep Eddy vodka tastes like what they say it should. So we had to stop by the tasting room. The drinks that were made were really good! The tasting room was really big with a lot of outdoor area as well.
Cabela's is a popular retail store that specializes in hunting, fishing, and camping equipment. They offer an extensive inventory of products such as boats and ATVs. This establishment is a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts due to its impressive selection and reasonable prices. The staff is known for being friendly and knowledgeable about their merchandise. Visitors can also enjoy browsing the trophy room or observing the aquarium on location. Overall, Cabela's is a great destination for anyone looking for quality outdoor gear.
This is just a great outdoors store. They have everything. At good prices. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. If your in Buda, TX you got to stop by.

We enjoy making an experience out of shopping here. My boys wanted to purchase a cap gun with his birthday money so we visited on a weekday. I was amazed at how much nicer it was than on a busy weekend. We always enjoy seeing all of the big game areas and appreciate the museum/store in one experience. The employee at the checkout was very kind and helpful as my son was paying with his own money.

This particular Cabela's location is one of my favorites. I have been to this location a number of times and they never disappoint. Most recently, I was in Cabela's to have a scope mounted on a rifle I had just bought from Bass Pro Shops. Not only was the service wonderful, but it was free. In addition, this location is fun even to just go and walk around, they have a trophy room and a small aquarium, I am looking forward to visiting again.

First time I have ever been to one and it was great. All of the animal displays and spoke with Tano about the zero gravity chairs and he came over and assisted me as I bought 2 that were on sale for $79.97 and made sure I took a picture as when he scanned the label it started $107.97. They are really nice chairs. Thank you Tano for your assistance A note associate also offered to take my picture with my little sister who came to visit.

Incredible shore for outdoor, recreational, fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, everything.
Aside from the wonderful store, they have a real aquarium and various displays of a variety of animals. They have 4/5 exhibits of the animals and try to add some of their habitat.
A great store and great employees always smiling and offering their services

One of the best experiences ever! The taxidermy is amazing and the aquarium…?EVEN BETTER!!! Entering the store is an experience itself. You are greeted with smiling faces and smooth country 😎 The variety of items in the store is insane. The fishing selection is INSANE, and they’ve even got a great variety of fly fishing gear. I’d spend days in here if I could! Don’t forget to check out the hunting game on the 2nd floor, crazy fun!!! I love this store, please go and take the entire family

I don't do outdoor nature, but I have to say if I wanted to teach my kids anything this was a perfect place to bring them. From all the fish on the walls and all the stuffed animals literally stuffed animals. The aquarium, the little ponds with real fish. All they need is a playground that's a perfect place to take your kids for an hour and shopping for your loved ones who like outdoor activities.

Always a good time at Cabela’s. Aquarium is very well kept, spacious and handicap accessible. Store is very tidy. It’s a nice place to stroll to get away from the heat of summer. Also a nice place to stay warm in when it’s cold out and kids need to walk around. Plus sizes aren’t always included in most deals such as the Columbia jackets, so pay attention to the tiny font on the sale signs.

Came in looking for my sons first fishing rod. I know nothing about fishing. Ron stopped and asked if we needed help with anything. He was able to tell us the difference between the fishing poles and was able to help my son find the right one for him. He gave us great fishing spots around town and a good start list on what we need to know about fishing. We will be back to show him what we were able to catch and pick up more fishing necessities.
Thanks Ron.

We use to just go here to look around because I loved looking at everything they have.
As an adult I still love this store and the layout hasn't changed much. I DO miss the restaurant they had but that's been gone a long time so I guess it's never coming back.

Very cool place to go. Anything that you need for outdoor activities, they have it. My family likes to come look at the "scenery" of taxidermy and fish. I highly recommend to visit every Bass Pro and Cabela's location you encounter. My family usually comes to re-up on Bass Pro t-shirts.

Nice variety in this store. Merchandise varies from shoes and fishing equipment to safes and firearms. In most cases the firearms section is crowded so you'll need to scan the QR code to take a number. Be aware that solicitors are at the front door to mention opening a credit card account. Judging by their conversation, I can only assume sign-ups are commission based. What is exceptional about this store is that they carry big and tall merchandise for men as well as hats to fit their overly large heads. It is difficult to find nice clothes in the big and tall sizes, so finding options are always exciting. Expect to pay a minimum of $35-40 per article of clothing no matter the adult size.
There's a plethora of parking options and the store has more than one level. Can't comment on the upper floor since I did not experience it. Overall, nice place to shop. Expect to spend several hundred dollars if not thousands in this overwhelmingly beautiful shopping atmosphere.

Jester King, a brewery located in the countryside near Austin, specializes in farmhouse ales and offers tours and tastings. The establishment also features a kitchen and event hall for visitors to enjoy. While it may not be as trendy as some other breweries in the area, such as Blue Owl Brewing, it is still worth checking out for beer enthusiasts looking to expand their palates beyond typical offerings.
We absolutely loved our experience celebrating our wedding at The Hall at Jester King. Their open-air barn and wood grove was the perfect venue to showcase the natural beauty of the Hill Country in a casual and fun setting. Taylor is such a pro and filled me with confidence and ease from day 1. Myrna and the JK team did a fabulous job on the day and we heard so many positive reviews of the food. The menu’s blend of barbecue and farm-to-table seasonality was a great intro to the Austin food scene for all of our out-of-town guests. And, of course, the beer was fantastic, my dad was so impressed with their wine options, and our guests loved their specialty cocktails. Plus, the surprise goat visit during cocktail hour was such a blast for our guests and definitely provided my favorite photo of the day. My husband and I look forward to building many more memories with Jester King over the years to come!

This is a fun spot to bring a date, a family, or small group of friends on a weekend day. The Beer selection changes daily but you can always be guaranteed a good selection of styles will be available. They also have a great pizza place on site. Be prepared to wait in line for a while to get your beer. Everyone tends to linger at the bar with questions and general beer related discussions with the tenders. Also if you order pizza be prepared to wait longer than you may want to get it, the wait is worth it though. While waiting for that pizza you can check out the extensive grounds and tour the brewery. They have large fields for families to play, plenty of people around kicking balls or tossing frisbees. There is also a very large beer hall and plenty of picnic tables scattered throughout the complex. They often have live music playing as well, which is always a plus! If you are looking to have a Spring outdoor outing, or you have folks in from another town, this is a good place to give them a feel for Texas country life, especially if your friends are beer aficionados.

The beers are absolutely amazing! If they serve farmhouse beers in heaven they’re serving Jester King hands down. Secondly, the staff are incredibly kind and helpful and some of the nicest folks I’ve ever met! Nick was wonderful and guided us in our selections. We had to catch a flight back the next day and didn’t have much time but he took his time helping us both find the perfect beer for our palates! Maria was super helpful and helped us pick some great beers to go and I didn’t get the last guys name but he was awesome too! This was the perfect ending to our trip! If you’re in Austin TX make visiting Jester King your top priority!

We were recommended this place by a friend and were not disappointed. Jester King is about 20 to 30 mins outside of Austin (depending on traffic) in the scenic TX hill country. When you arrive, you will be amazed at how big the place is! The brewery is basically on a ranch with a large outdoor space that has a playground, walking trails, and goat pen. We ordered beer and pizza and loved both. There was also musicians which was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and the overall vibe of the place was great. We didn’t pay for the goat tour but still walked by the fence and got to see some of the animal. Definitely a TX experience! Highly recommend.

This was our last stop on our alcoholic beverage outing. We’d been out in Wine Country so it was refreshing to throw beer into the mix. I was shocked at how large of a selection they had. I can’t remember which beer I got, but I remember enjoying it. Huge seating area so we didn’t have to worry about finding somewhere to sit. Didn’t get around to trying the food but I’ve heard it’s good. If I lived in the Austin area I would definitely frequent here.

Been to Jester King few times in the past year. Always a fun place to visit. This time we did the goat walk which is very unique experience. They take you on an hour walk with a herd of goats and explain about grazing and the herd itself. Suitable for any age, and they even let you drink beer while on the tour.
The food and beer in Jester King are amazing. They have online ordering system which you use a single tab for the drinks and food at the food truck.

Delicious beer, pizza and snack bites. Fun walking trails, you can go to see the goats and kids (they like pets and use the fence to scratch itches😂). Their Lemon pizza and hoppy IPA beer were excellent!

Jester King is one of my favorite breweries in all of Austin! It’s far away but well worth the trip. It feels like a getaway. The atmosphere is super unique, they have plenty of food options such as one of the best pizza and burger food trucks! Make sure to try the smash burger. I could talk about the beer but they are so amazing at rotating their selection that whatever I write about, might have changed by the time you check them out. Make sure to check out their instagram to see what they are currently working on - Jester is an Austin gem.

Jester Brewery totally rocked! They had such an awesome variety of in-house brewed beers that we couldn't decide which ones to try first. And let me tell you, their pizza was straight-up fire! Crispy crust, mouthwatering toppings – it hit the spot. The outdoor setup was the icing on the cake; the misters were a lifesaver in the heat, and we had plenty of parking. Can't wait to go back for more good times and great brews at Jester Brewery! 🍻🍕🔥

Jester King Brewery is an amazing spot close to Austin to visit. Its super family and dog friendly. They have amazing Beers and wines and even pizza from a pizza oven. I enjoyed a German Beer Pilsner and a hot apple cider. Both great. And in the back they have goats. For 10$ you can go inside the cage with your drink and hang out with them, pet them… they are so freaking cute.

Big fan of the fermented beers. They really open your taste pallette up 1st sip with the sourness after that they're really good. Staff are friendly and definitely knowledgeable of the beers on hand. They also offer a small selection of bar bites such as pizza etc. The location of the place is a bit out if the way which leaves it a nice space to hang out away from things. Left with some beers to try at home.

Jester King is a great spot for a chilled day out! They have a huge park area for kids, a food truck, have amazing pizza options (I loved the Citrus, it is a bit spicy though), and baked goods (their chocolate cookie is one of the best I’ve ever had). They have goat yoga classes and host events all of the time. I look forward to coming back more often!

Never fails to be a good experience. Great place to stop from Pedernales Falls or even as a standalone attraction. Love the pizzas, craft beers, trail, and goats! Nice staff. They seem to like working here since they are welcoming of questions.

Recently hosted our wedding at The Hall at Jester King and cannot say enough great things about the event manager, Myrna, the staff, and the venue. It was so incredible having everything in one spot- ceremony, reception, food, beer, dancing, goats. The food and beer were top notch and our friends and family cannot stop raving about how delicious dinner was. We had the goats stop by to crash our cocktail hour and people were ecstatic that they were there. Myrna was incredible to work with leading up to the wedding and was instrumental in making sure everything went smoothly the day off. The staff was so professional and caring, all evening I saw them replacing guests goat drank beer and checking in with folks with food allergies and restrictions. The setup of the hall was perfect because people had room to move around and do what they wanted- whether dancing, sitting and chatting, or playing cornhole outside. Cannot recommended your event at The Hall enough.

Beautiful brewery! They had live music a variety of locations to sit, some more quiet and some more lively. The trails were an awesome feature, I would have liked to see more. The beer was good. The best part, hands down, the goats! It was awesome to have a beer and hang out with them. Don’t wear your hood shoes though! Haha

Jester King is an amazing brewery not just on a local scale but on a national scale. They're masters of saisons and wild ferments but skilled at plenty of other styles. Visiting the brewery is a huge open space with tons of seating and amazing wood-fired pizza. Highly recommended.

We grabbed some beer to go and spent some time chilling with the goats. Later, we ordered pizza and fries. The fries were good, but the pizza was overly salty for some reason. Overall, we had a great day there.

We've been going to Jester King since 2017, and on one of our many trips we stumbled up the event hall on the back corner of the property. Years later we were engaged and looking for a wedding venue. We looked at a ton of venues around Austin as well as in the Denver metro, and none of them stood up to what Jester King could provide.
We got married at The Hall at Jester King in September 2023, and everything about the wedding was exactly what we had hoped for. Taylor and Myrna go above and beyond for the couples getting married here; they were available to answer questions months in advance of the wedding, and went out of their way to make our day special - including pulling aside a keg of our favorite beer just for the wedding, and working with a local winery to get exactly what we wanted.
Jester King catered the wedding, and we heard nothing but praise from all of the guests. A significant number of our guests had dietary restrictions (gluten allergies, vegetarian), but the farm-to-table menu gave us a ton of options. When needed the chef worked with us to make small changes to accommodate everyone (croutons on the side, substituting corn tortilla chips for pita chips).
GOATS! We arranged to have Jester King's goats crash our wedding, which was an awesome surprise for our guests. The shepherd escorted them down the ceremony trail so it felt like they were honorary guests (and were stealthy!).
We're looking forward to many more trips to Jester King, and many more memories to follow.

Worst pizza I’ve had in many years! The crust was so thin, the top was burnt, the bottom was burnt, the sausage was scarce. I was so disappointed.
I remember the pizza being good years ago but it has been awhile since we have been there.

Visiting from Los Angeles for a work conference, Jester King was a must stop before we left.
We arrived on a Friday morning and it was quiet. Plenty of phenomenal wild ales and farmhouse ales on draft. On the way out, I made sure to grab a few to-go beers.
Kenny was a master of his craft, knew the ins and out of every beer available in bottle. Was a huge help in deciding what to bring home. If you get a chance to chat beer with Kenny, definitely take advantage of it!

A scenic natural swimming pool in a canyon below a 50-ft waterfall, surrounded by a grotto.
Went here a few years ago, and man it was stunning. Absolutely breathtaking. The waterfall, the clear blue water, and amazing view. I know we just went thru a historic drought so I don’t know how it looks now, but hopefully it’s still nice. Reservations need to be made online for like $12 for cars but you have to do it MONTHS in advance so please know that. Then at the entrance it’s $8 per person cash only. Be warned. Sad that it’s like that but it makes sense with how popular it is. I’m sure it would be chaotic otherwise. If you’re able to go, please do!

Reservations are needed and an additional payment once in the park per a person. Only cash in person. Beautiful. Nice hike. The hike itself is short and easy-medium. Nice park staff and clean park area. Bathrooms were closed but they did have portable bathrooms (I did not use them).

No permit to go on the trail inside the cave. You can stay just in front of the cave. In the past was allowed.
Take care with snakes. We saw a poison one. Omg!!. It's usual on the trail. Specially close the pool. So, several rules to entry and you can go inside the cave. I don't recommend it so much.

Heads up. The path underneath the cliff overhang is closed. Nonetheless a beautiful natural area. We mostly hiked towards the river. About an hour there and back.
Natasha Blackmore — Google review
Wonderful short hike to the pool but don't attempt if you are unsteady on your feet and by all means bring a walking stick. The water was low and had some bacteria so we were told not to touch it. Unfortunately the path that goes in back of the falls is closed due to falling rocks. I would definitely try this walk again in a different season. You need to book your reservation in advance, cost $12. Pay daily per person rate at entrance, bring cash. Super cheap senior rate of $3.
Jan Campbell — Google review
Its a very pretty natural pool with clear blue water. Reservation is required to visit this place which is $12 per car. Apart from that, we need to be paying $8 fee per person for entry at the preserve entrance.
It was a short hike of 15-20 mins to the pool. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed in the pool due to fallen rocks and bacteria. Apart from that, you can take another long hike which will lead to the river.
But, we felt like entry was pricier for this place. It can be made lesser since swimming & walking around the pool is restricted now.
But, the water was definitely beautiful. Check the picture.

I am sad to leave this review, but we were extremely disappointed by Hamilton Pool Preserve. We visited from out of state on 5/29/23 with reservations. The pool was closed to swimming and rightfully so, because it looked like a dirty pond, nothing like the pictures I had seen. There is no waterfall whatsoever. The hiking pathway that goes around the perimeter of the pool is closed with no apparent plans for repair. I would recommend against stopping here in summer
Ellie McGriff — Google review
Good place , trek is easy. Pool wasn't open for swim. Entry fee to be paid in cash as they don't accept cards, probably because no network service in the area.
Overall, good place to connect with nature.

Great place to stop for a few hours and explore. The hike down to the pool is pretty steep, so be aware. You have to have a reservation to get in. There are porta-potties at the parking lot and down by the pool, but no running water! Also, take cash there’s an $8/per person charge at the gate that they don’t tell you about.
Susan Knapp — Google review
So much fun! Reservations required! Bring cash, you’ll pay the ranger at the gate. Short but steep walk down to the pool, do your best to pack light. Toddlers will likely need to be carried some on the way down, more on the way back up to the parking lot.

I never took the chance to go when I lived in Austin. I just had to see it! Reservations are a hassle...and of course when I went the bacteria levels were not good. I should have known that was a risk early in the season with water levels being low but I was there at the end of May and just had to go. Anyways, because of the water levels the waterfall wasn't as powerful. Since I moved they stopped allowing people to walk under the falls as well due to the chance of rocks falling. The amount of 'beach' area is not very big but bring a float when you are allowed to swim and just relax the whole time in the water! One thing I really enjoyed was getting to take photos of an empty pool area. I would have never been able to get shots without a ton of people in them if it hadn't been a day when people weren't allowed to swim. Just hope one day I get something better than a $60 phone to capture the beauty. Nothing will ever compete with going and exploring these places yourself though.

After a long time being in Austin, I finally visited this place. It was beautiful. The water is very pretty and there were some fishes swimming close to the shore that was a good sight to look at. The grotto area hike and swimming is closed as of now. But there was hike to the river which was a good workout. The beach near the river is nice and the water is shallow and clear. Overall a good visit.
Vijaylakshmi Rana — Google review
It is a short hike to the pool. View of the pool is very beautiful. It is quite relaxing to just hang out there. Unfortunatly, at the moment walking behind the pool and swimming are not allowed due to the risk of rocks falling. But it is still a great day activity. Landscape is stunning. The color of the water is very impressive. I highly recommend a visit. And don't stay just in the pool, it is also worth walking to the other side where you will have a 0.75 mile hike by the creek to get to the river. The walk is also great and with wonderful views of the creek. You can also find fish swimming at the creek. At the river, you can swim. The only negative point about it is the price. Apart from a 8 dollars fee per person to be paid in cash when you get there, there is a 12 dollars fee to make the reservation (I guess for the car parking). A bit pricey in my opinion. Specially because you cannot stay the entire day there. You get either the morning ticket (from 8:30am to 12:30pm) or the afternoon ticket (from 1:30pm to 5:30pm).

Forested park & campground with 32 natural springs, swimming holes, waterfalls, pool, trails & more.
I always meant to come review after the whirlwind of planning for our wedding. Finally doing it. This is a breathtaking, family friendly location. The owners welcomed myself, photographer/ hairdresser, and sister for my bridal pictures. They allowed me to use an air-conditioned room set up with family portraits and heirlooms in which to get ready, without us even asking. A wonderful day and gorgeous landscape of the waterfall and gardens.

To say I had garden envy is a complete understatement. Everything here looked so lush and vibrant. The staff tending to the plants were super friendly and willing to share knowledge on the plants and property. Everything is very well kept and you can tell the staff take huge pride over their facility. My husband and 5 year old are avid spring swimmers and jumped right in. Rope swing was a hit. My 16yr old and myself enjoyed sunning on the surrounding rocks and watching the wildlife. The pool was gorgeous and it was so cool to watch the water flow into the pool, out again, down the water fall and into the spring pool. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone thinking of visiting.

Great private camping site, inside a ranch, with access to a pool where 20+ natural springs converge and spill down to a swimming hole in the creek below.
The swimming hole is over 6 ft deep in some areas and even has a small cave and swing rope.
There are not as many restrictions on where to set your tent or your fire pit, as in a regular public park.
There is water and electricity at the 24 RV spots with picnic tables and grills ( on the top level), but not at the more primitive tents sites which are spread out on the 2nd and 1st levels in elevation.
The 3 restrooms are clean, but no hot water in the showers.
No dogs or glass containers allowed.

Beautiful spot for a refreshing day trip or camping. Both natural and more manicured areas to enjoy. My husband and I went on Labor Day, and it wasn't too crowded in the morning, but the place definitely got busier after lunch. Water was cool and clean (though a bit murky in the main pool just from getting stirred up by swimmers). Recommend arriving early to avoid the biggest crowds!

From the moment we stepped foot in Krause Springs we were amazed by the beauty of its garden-a true oasis. The true jewel was the spring itself. Though not as expansive as we initially thought it would be its remarkable beauty made up for it. It’s a place where you can disconnect from the hustle of your daily life and reconnect with nature! If you want a truly quiet and relaxing time camping and rving this place is the best bang for your buck with the springs near by.
The facilities were nice (rv area) and the lawns were kept maintained.
You can bring your mountain bikes and ride along the rocks and have a good time or go near by to Pedernales state park.
My only complaint is that Gates close at 8pm and I’m young and like to go see night life especially if there are strict rules already about quiet hours. I think this could be managed better for paying customers, in addition to better reservation point of sale. The park has a website but cannot reserve which is a crutch especially when Terri does not trust the mail so if you’re traveling far you’re really banking on first come first serve.
We came days before it is closed for the season and it was beautiful weather for tent camping and fire

What's not to love! We went on memorial day weekend so of course it was busy but still very enjoyable! We camped for 2 nights and loved it all! I would recommend water shoes, there's rocks, tree roots and lots of mud on the bottom. The waterfall is beyond beautiful and there's a cave right behind it you can go in. The rope swing is really cool and don't forget to jump off the ledge into the water, it's exilerating. We can't wait to be back!

This place was an incredible idea and our family had tons of fun. I’m knocking 2 stars off because the water was very murky (which I know is not the parks fault, but it could help others. It felt pretty gross). We stayed in the natural pool 90% of the time, which was freezing. I removed another star because the person at the front was very rude when I asked an honest question. Nice employees would make for a better experience. Also, the bathrooms were very dirty. One bathroom didn’t even have a stall door.

I couldn’t find many reviews or pics of the RV hookups so this is dedicated to the 24 they have. Not on pads but many well shaded under legacy trees. Easy access to the pools but tucked away in the back of the property. Grills and fire pits at each with steel picnic tables. VERY well maintained. Short walk to to toilet/showers.
30 and 50 amp hooks with the usual 110 outlets. Solid and worked great. Water has good pressure and tastes great.
Hookups are in far back of each spot so bring extensions; my 50 foot hose JUST made my connections at the front of our rig.
Also know the sites are pretty tight to each other. Fine on a quiet weekday but might be a little close for your tastes on weekends.
Overall a beautiful camp, especially this close to ATX.

I saw a tic toc video about this place at 10pm on a Friday night. I book a RV space right then on the spot and woke up the next morning and drove down from Dallas. I have a 25 ft Regency Coach (small C class RV size) that I was able to enter the property with ease. If you have a 45 ft A class it will be tight. There are not a ton of spaces maybe 24 in total is my guess. And they’re all grass pads with electric and water hook up only. The sewer dump in next to the public restroom and there will be a line if you’re not an early riser. Was it worth it, yes. The cost for a space was reasonable. The ride down from Dallas was priceless during the spring bluebonnet season!!!! The hills and winding roads or so picturesque it’s unreal. Crossing over the Colorado River at Lake Marble Falls was heavenly. I didn’t have time to stop there but I’m going back for Marble Falls. Now back to the campsite. It is a privately owned property and decently kept. A little too tall grass under one of the fifth wheels next to me. That makes me nervous about what’s crawling at the foot of my steps when coming and going. There was no trash in the grounds it was very clean for a semi full park. More dry tent campers than RVs. The best experiences included THE AMAZING HUDGE FIVE FOOT WIND CHIMES hanging in the trees in a garden near the entry. It created the most amazing sound garden experience I’ve ever had. I am master gardener and I’m investing in buying these for my home today! The water falls, ponds and trees are heaven!!! It’s worth at least one night. I don’t see me staying there for days at a time but that’s just me. A wanderer. Only 4 stars because of grass pads and no full hookups for RV. The staff was nice and if I could rate the beauty of the nature likes and falls I’d give it a FIVE separately.

Barton Springs Municipal Pool is a popular swimming spot in Austin, Texas, that maintains a 68-degree temperature all year round. The pool is fed by underground springs and remains blissfully undisturbed by the city's rapid growth. It's a popular spot for sunbathing, swimming, and picnicking, and often hosts events such as music festivals.
Really great place to relax in the hot weather. Parking gets really busy but sometimes you’ll get lucky and find a a spot up close. Entry is $9, card or exact cash. Once inside there is lots of elevated grass area to set up on. Water is just like they say, cold. Took me a minute to warm up to it but eventually did and had a blast. There’s a diving board and shallow and deep ends. Pool floor is very slippery!! They have lifeguards posted all along the pool for safety. There are also restrooms and changing rooms. Really cool place to swim and enjoy. Definitely will visit again when in Austin.

This is our all time favorite place to swim! Austin allows women to go topless so be prepared if you are a Karen to stay at home if you have a problem with that. The water stays cold all year round since it’s a natural spring. I bring flippers and snorkels to really enjoy the crystal clear water. The pool is so large that even when its very crowded once you get inside still plenty of room. You have to pay to get in, non residents pay $9. Residents pay $5 No coolers, and only drinks are ones you can put a top on. No pets allowed but right beside the pool is barking springs which is great for dogs, but too many people are letting them off leash so potential dog fights can happen. Keep you pet in a leash if you bring them. VERY clean great place to spend the day. They are open till 10 pm and there are lights that add to the fun of night swimming.
Great family place. Great for small kids too as the water gets very shallow on one end.
I went topless since many other women were doing so, it’s perfectly legal in Austin, I had a blast no one said anything negative to me, but looking at some of the other reviews some people take serious issues with topless women- those people should stay at home.
If you want to leave and grab lunch there are tables under a shaded area right outside the pool, and then you can get back in make sure to have them stamp your hand or keep your pass- using the app saves a lot of time.

Giant spring pool. You can pay or not. The side where you don't pay is the river. Water is very cold and the bottom is slippery. It is NOT VERY HANDICAPPED ACCESSABLE. The so called grass trail to the pool is not accessible to any handicapped person. I use a sturdy forearm crutch. I barely made the trail. There are not any directions in the parking lots. There are handicapped spaces to park. Once in the entrance, the so called ramp for wheelchairs is far away. Other than myself I didn't see one handicapped person. It was really crowded. Another issue is that the sides of the pool are hills of grass and trees. I really advise to try to find instructions as to where to go.Its nice to take a dip. For seniors $2.00. Have to buy tickets at the kiosk to get in or buy online.

Barton Springs Pool is a 3 acres wide pool inside Zilker Park which is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68-70 degrees F, ideal for year-round swimming.
Went there on a hot summer evening. We reached there at 8:55 pm, so the staff at the ticket counter suggested us to come after 5 minutes for entering without admission fees or entry pass. Great advice. So entry pass is not required from 9 pm - 10 pm and from 5 am- 8 am. But you have to swim at your own risk because no lifeguard is available at that time. During weekends, it gets busy, but all the people gives everyone own space which is admirable.
The pool's natural spring water offer a refreshing escape from the Texas heat. The pool's ambiance is serene. Other than swimming in the pool, we also walked around the walkway around the pool. The downtown skyline can be seen from the pool which makes your experience more memorable.
Overall, Barton Springs is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, a gem of Austin's outdoor scene.

The place was nice and clean and quite spacious when we went! Typically when you first arrive, there are so many people camped out on the grass everywhere and can be difficult to find a spot when with a few friends. However, that was not the case when I went! The water, of course, was nice and cool and the sun made the weather absolutely perfect! When we left, I noticed that I had left my shades at the spot we were at and the woman at the office let me go back in and get them without any cost! Definitely will keep coming back throughout the summer!

Super awesome place to visit in Austin!!! First off jumping in the water will shock your body. It’s very very cold. You do get used to it after a few minutes but it was almost miserable for me at first. It is an amazing natural spring pool with awesome views all around. A diving board and plenty of space to sit around and enjoy the sun or shade. For Austin residents it is cheaper than non residents but if you are a veteran or active military no need for tickets. Just show ID at gate and they let you in for free. Everyone else in your party does need a ticket. Outside of the gates there is a great panini food truck with soft drinks and Gatorade along with water. There’s also a Jim Jim’s stand which is just flavored ice. Definitely recommend going just to try but I personally am not spending a ton of time in the water just because I do like it a little warmer. This is definitely a place to go here in Austin though and super popular. TONS of people!! I recommend getting online and buying tickets before you get here and you must read the rules before coming in just because there is a few and I mainly was surprised you can’t bring ice chests but that’s the rules. Anyway enjoy and definitely check it out.

Awesome spot! The whole place was pretty clean and the water was cold and nice on a hot summer day. It is a spring even tho it is build as a pool to be more comfortable, but there is moss in the water. There are easy entry to the water with stairs and ladders. People were jumping from the diving board and it looked really fun.
There are lifeguards watching everyone and making sure that everyone is safe. The bathrooms were clean and comfortable. I do recommend going on the week days so it's not so packed with people.

Went on a Monday morning and the water was so clean (and cold!) It wasn't busy at all. The staff and lifeguards are great. Bring some blankets and towels to lounge on the hillside. You cannot bring food, alcohol, glass containers nor coolers INTO the facility... But they are great for a quick pic-nic/tailgate at your vehicle! Don't forget to pay for parking at the parking kiosks. Highly recommend this place for all ages. The BEST way to cool off quickly.

This is the first time that I visit Barton Spring and I was very please with the maintenance this place have, this spring waters are really crystal clear and some areas the color of the water was a beautiful blue emeral, come and visitthis place you will have a good time here in the heart of downtown Austin.

One of the coolest 'pools' I have been to. Refreshing on a hot day with bites of the skyline. There is a diving board and we saw ducks and turtles swimming around. Worth a visit especially if you are with children.

We didn’t get into the pool but we entered where the kayak and canoe rental is. You don’t have to pay just find a spot along the bank and get on in! Some spots are shallow for you get kids and some are deep! We had a blast no filter needed for this water! It looks amazing and freezing but you get used to it after a while.

This place is great! The water is pretty cold and for a cheap entrance, it’s a fun little day excursion before or after going into Austin. The view of the city is really close and the water is pretty clear! There are interesting characters beyond the dam for families or young children but the swimming is great. I hope to come back soon!

Kids had a blast plenty of clear water atmosphere is breathable and has a very nice couple of views to see and look at or to take plenty of photos. You can tube, swim, jump off the bridge, or even use the rope to swing in the water for extra fun. At the end of this very hot beautiful day everyone is exhausted and ready for a good sleep once you get home.

Visited from Houston on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. Water was cold at first but was definitely refreshing in this over 100° Texas heat. I do recommend water shoes as they are very slippery and the rocks are uneven as they are natural springs. They have shallow areas and deep areas on the opposite side. They also have restrooms and showers available, which were a plus. We took water tumblers and stayed about 4 hours, and we were good. We will definitely return!
Ashley Angel — Google review
This place was amazing. The water was about 68 degrees while the air temp was 107 degrees.
They have lifeguards on duty for your safety. Very family friendly!
The parking is about the only issue I came across because all the kiosks were down except one. Had to wait thirty minutes to pay for parking in the sweltering heat. The online site was down as well.
We still had an amazing time and I recommend this place if you need to cool down in the hot Texas heat!

Wow. I can’t believe I went to University of Texas Austin and never went here until I moved away to NYC. This is a find! I’m so bummed I never went here when I lived here 😳 The water is refreshing on those HOT Texas days. Now be warned it’s cold. It’s because it’s naturally coming up from a spring below ⬇️ so it’s pretty cold but it’s also fresh with none of that chlorine that damages you. Spacious huge natural pool to swim. There are areas on the hill to lounge out and sun bathe so tip: bring a large towel or picnic blanket. A great place for a large group of friends for sure 👍🏼 👍🏼

They could have raises the entrance fees to this natural spring pool and it still would have been a good deal to enjoy this cool comfortable water in the hot summer day.
Wish they would have built some private cabana to rent out so families can have more comfortable settings to spend the day.

POLAR BEAR PLUNGE!!! Went here for the polar bear plunge on 1/1/24. Tons of people, but not to the point that it was over crowded. Although parking can be a bit difficult. Free entry plus free donuts and coffee. Had a bast, plan to make this a yearly tradition!! Highly recommend... As for summer swimming this is a fun place to go but can get crowded at times, especially on the weekends. Our first experience here we learned that women can go topless in Austin so if you have small children be cautious. Great swimming spot but personally I'd rather go to other spots outside of down town Austin.

What a lovely spot and they're open late. The water is very cold, even on 105° days. It's wonderful to be able to swim in a natural habitat with fish, turtles and salamanders thriving there. Water shoes were a must for me.
It was great to see the lifeguards passing attention and stopping folks from flipping into the water. Be sure to
Bring your flotation devices for the left side of the pool.

Serene and Scenic Visit to Barton Springs Pool
My family, along with a friend’s family and their two kids, had the pleasure of visiting Barton Springs Pool in Austin on November 23. Our experience was nothing short of enriching and satisfying. We spent a delightful two hours exploring the area, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of this urban oasis.
The pool itself, with its clear, refreshing waters, was a joy to walk around. The children, in particular, were thrilled with the surroundings, adding to the joyful atmosphere of our visit. The highlight for many of us was the photography opportunities the location provided. Each photo captured the serene beauty of Barton Springs, creating lasting memories of our visit.
Additionally, the streams nearby added to the scenic charm of the place. Their gentle flow and the lush greenery surrounding them offered a picturesque backdrop that was both calming and beautiful.
Overall, our visit to Barton Springs Pool was a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil and scenic spot in Austin. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a trip here promises an enriching experience that you’ll cherish.

Always a great place to cool off! Admission is $5 for Austin residents. Usually super busy during the summer, especially on weekends, but this photo was taken at sunset on a Monday in October (still hot though!).

I'd definitely want to go back on a warmer day and get into the pool! Haven't seen anything like it!
I believe the ticket to swim is $5 but entrance is free if you just want to walk around.

Super nice place. But if you get a kayak further down, you gotta row at least about a quarter mile to get to main river where you see high rise buildings

Fun public 'pool'! We had fun wading around, and swimming a little, but it was so cold! None the less, it was fun and hilarious as it also is quite slippery. I loved that you can see the downtown skyline from the pool, as well as planes flying it.
The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge Observation Deck in Austin offers a unique family outing to witness an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The bridge is home to over 1.5 million bats, creating the largest urban bat colony in the world. From July to August, visitors can watch as the bats emerge at dusk to feed on millions of air-born insects, creating a spectacular sight as they take flight into the evening sky.
Considering the current south shore plant/tree overgrowth (April 2024) I think THIS is the best place to stand when waiting for the bats to come out from under the bridge. Yes the bats begin to emerge on the south side first, but you don't need to see the *first* bats to see an impressive display. As it turns out, we didn't see a large group of bats this evening (it rained and was generally too cool), but we did see (and hear) some bats, and the trip to the bridge was worthwhile. We waited from 30 minutes before until about 50 minutes after sunset, then left. Austin has a lovely skyline! We walked here from our hotel near the convention center, along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. It was a very pleasant walk with lots of tree cover.
Emily Goodin — Google review
Nice meeting spot, and iconic location of the largest Mexican free tail bat colony in North America. See them fly at dusk at the southeast end of the bridge, below looking up when nightly guides of kayak and boat tours shine their red lights to see the flying bats. The Driskill is an 1886 luxury hotel in downtown Austin with high-end quarters and a renowned grill. It also has a bar with live music.
We recently stayed here for our wedding weekend and enjoyed the service we received. We were accommodated for a check in 2 hours early so we could change in our hotel room before our courthouse ceremony, and we were greeted in our hotel room with chocolate covered strawberries and Topo Chico. The reception desk was friendly and the valets were great. Jay carried a carload of wedding stuff up to our room and was professional and helpful. The Driskill Bar was the perfect place for our after party and we had plenty of guests stay there too. The only downside was that they weren’t able to give us a wedding room block, but luckily since it has a great location, there were plenty of other options for people. Recommend! We can’t wait to stay in our room for future anniversaries :)

From the moment we arrived we felt like royalty. The staff went above and beyond in all circumstances. The hotel itself is a sight to behold including the bar which was packed every night we were there, it also happens to be a quiet spot to catch up on work in the morning. Katie at the front desk was exceptional along with David in valet. We look forward to returning next year, thank you again!

The hotel was very nice! The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and unique. My room (546) had another room next door. There was a foyer outside the two rooms with a security lock. My neighbors could have locked us in. Seemed a little weird, but my neighbors behaved. The guys at the concierge station, (Jay, Kaos, and Texan) were very helpful and friendly. Also the attendants at the front desk were helpful and efficient.
The room was very large and luxurious, but the mirror on the wall where the beds were seemed to be ambiguously placed. Not a bad thing just kind of odd.
Also the view was of the building next door. If I opened the window, I could have touched it.

Interesting place! The food at the hotel was great - the burger was exceptional! It looked so simple yet the flavours brought back something I haven’t experienced in a long time. Flavours that makes you feel home.
Just because of this, I was super satisfied.
Additionally, the server was super friendly and on top of it.
A little background music going on in the lounge - great vibes for friends and dates.

The valet guys were the most helpful and attentive I have ever seen. We utilized close to 10 different gentlemen for bags and retrieving/ leaving our vehicle throughout the trip and each one was super polite and helpful and always asking if we needed anything else. The rooms were nice but the walls were thin so we could hear the party next door throughout the night.

We stayed at the Driscoll and they were so accommodating. Stephen was our porter and was friendly and helped us get all our stuff out safely. I was in a wheel chair and even the hotel changed our room to an ADA room. Clean, friendly staff in the cafe and front desk as well. We will be back. The cafe has delicious croissants and quiche. Absolutely worth it and made our trip that much better. We were treated well by everyone at the hotel and the place is gorgeous!

Before finalizing any trip, I do a quick check on a few sites, including HoteIDuIIy.cᴏm My last trip was surprisingly affordable after that bit of research. Gorgeous hotel with soaring high ceilings, an art gallery feel in every corridor, and some parts of the building dating back to the 1880s. Amazing charm and architectural details! Peacefully quiet room even though the downtown city block is very walkable and bustling. And the service was top notch - two people personally reached out to me by text message before I got there to confirm my reservation had everything I needed. Bravo!

Did not stay at the hotel but we spent about an hour at the bar. This is definitely a 5 star hotel. The furniture throughout was nice and the bar had a great atmosphere. They have a small stage in the bar, a classic Country and Western band was playing. The band was good and they were quiet enough that everyone could still carry on a conversation. We had a good time.

Literally the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff was exceptionally helpful and the hotel itself was incredibly gorgeous and clean. The guided tour was a fun perk, and the bakery was fantastic. Our room was tiny, but we were forewarned and the original stained glass in the bathroom was a real treat as was the floor to ceiling tiled shower. Spooky, old fashioned, and just plain nostalgic.

Loved our stay! Thanks Matt for hauling up our plethora of luggage and sharing about the hotel tour. Maddie was great on the hotel knowledge tour, the rooms were all amazing and full of history. Food and drinks were phenomenal and the secret mezzanine balcony nightcap spot that Stephen shared made us feel very exclusive. We also had such a great checkout and loading experience with Stephen and crew on our way out. He remembered our family and gave us such a personalized experience. We will absolutely be back thanks to the family friendly experience this team gave us!

Staying at the Driskill was fantastic. Valet service, front desk staff, and room service was excellent. Loved the fresh smell inside especially with the Christmas tree in the main lobby. King room with balcony came as advertised with no let downs. After a night out on 6th street we were able to bring our pizza in from the street & grab a couple Dr. Peppers for fancy cuisine in the Mezzanine. Only gripe is that check in is at 4pm and the historic tour is at 4pm. Changing either time so they do not overlap would have been icing on the cake. I hope I can attend the tour another time.

We only popped in, just to have a look around at the end of a fabulous walking tour of Austin and it was amazing, gorgeous decor, superb atmosphere and lovely staff.
We then decided to get something to eat in the restaurant and had what can only be described as the best cinnamon roll we have ever tasted… and it was the size of a small loaf!
Definitely going to pop back next time we are in Austin, see you soon.

Everything about the driskill exceeded all our expectations. The only thing to note is it is not very modern, if that's what you like. They have kept it original, even in the rooms.

So many things went wrong within the hour we were at thos hotel.
Valet rushing me when I was trying to gather my things to get out which I ended up dropping my phone and busting the screen. I should of said back up and give me some time but I didn't.
Then there was an issue with my reservation. I requested a disability room because for one I am disabled and secondly at every other hotel they are usually on the first floor or near the elevator. Neither was the case for my disabled room that just had bathtub railing in. I had to take TWO elevators to the 4th floor and down a hall to get to my room. Immediately going down the hall I could smell air freshener trying to cover up the moldy smell but what caused us to leave is the chemical smell in the room. It was so strong just after 10 minutes in the room I was starting to taste it and feel nauseous and sick.
Front desk could careless. The bellhop said wow I can smell it too. I felt poisoned and we had a baby with us. It took hours after leaving for my head to clear up and to feel better.
They said they would refund everything but yep you guessed it. I have t received it yet. They said I would get a email and nope no email yet
Over $400 for a night and $55 for valet is ridiculous to or this hotel. I will be calling the health department about the chemical poisoning I experienced. Well we all experienced.

This place put my family in the Urgent clinic do to chemical poisoning. Waiting on blood work to see if it shows up.
The room had the strongest chemical smell and made us all sick. My disabled grandmother was affected the most. She was throwing up from only 15 minutes in the room.
Staff didn't offer another room to see if it was just our room or offer anything so we checked out and left but they still charged us for the room but said we no showed. We were a walk in and had no reservation. So that makes no sense. We were only there 30 minutes total.

Decent hotel full of history & ghost stories. Rooms are a little old but still decent. We were there during the cold snap and the general temperature of the rooms was a little cold. Check-in was seamless & the staff was generally quite nice. Location is great , close to a lot of the downtown vibrant hot spot. Nice place overall.

There was only one confusing situation about the hotel. We love history and knew that someone wrote a book about the Driskill history and ghosts. We saw her on TV and that's why we stayed at the Driskill. On Google maps it says the offices for Bad Wolf Ghost Tours is inside the Driskill. The staff said that was not correct. Contacted them, and they were from San Antonio. There were several tours but none of them were local or the one with the guide who wrote the book. Confusing for guests who want to learn real history.

Yesterday, I enjoyed the most magical experience! I was meeting a friend for lunch at the Driskill and arrived early to tour the hotel. Everyone was helpful and courteous. The entire hotel is glorious, and I can't wait to come back to dine and for events. We ate at 1886, and Madison was an incredible ambassador for the elegance of this establishment. Her level of care and attention was extraordinary, and her enthusiasm for the Driskill helped me fall in love with the place. We enjoyed dining in the lobby area among the art and beauty. Finally, my husband is a chef, and great food is our passion. Never have I tasted such glorious jam or an omelette so divine! Several years ago, we watched "The Hundred-Foot Journey" movie. Helen Mirren's character asked the aspiring chef to cook her an omelette. I did not fully understand then--but I certainly do now after eating the Lady Bird Omelet at 1886! I am counting the moments to return for sunrise breakfast and high tea. Thank you for an afternoon I will cherish.
The impressive Capitol building in Austin was completed in 1888 and is a nationally recognized historical landmark. The dome is made of red granite from Granite Mountain near Marble Falls, Texas, and the walls are decorated with handrails and brass chandeliers spelling out TEXAS. The building houses the offices and chambers of the Texas State Legislature as well as the Governor's office.
Beautiful historical building. The Renaissance-style architecture of the Texas State Capitol reveals how diverse the State of Texas has always been, with unique food, cultures, and people! I went with my family on a Saturday evening, yet the Capitol was as calm as ever. The Capitol grounds are a splendid picnic spot, dotted with fountains and sculptures of Texas revolutionaries. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Austin!

Very nice visit at the Texas Capitol. I arrived just in time for the start of a (free) guided tour inside the building. The guide was very competent as he explained the history of the Capitol (and, consequently, of Texas itself). I highly recommend visiting the Texas State Capitol building in Austin. Built in 1885 by architect Elijah E. Myers, it's an impressive structure and the 6th tallest state capitol building. The surrounding area is adorned with beautiful statues and monuments, perfect for exploration.
The capitol tour is free. The sad part is every time I went to visit the Texas capitol building, either it was after hours or the building was closed for renovation or Covid; so I couldn't get the chance to do the capitol tours.
Another thing I want to mention is if you want to take pictures standing in front of the capitol building from the front lawn, the building is almost covered with trees, and only the top part is shown from the lawn. Consider photographing from the corners for a full building view. And now since the construction is going on, it is difficult to capture the perfect photo.
There's a nearby parking lot offering free parking for 2 hours on weekdays, but be aware of charges on weekends or special events. You can also do street parking. Overall, a must-visit in Austin!

Visiting Austin from UK, we took a look around and loved walking around and seeing the history of this place. It's on a few floors, being able to see from the ground floor up and also looking down from upper galleries, different wings with different rooms all off the main dome central, which is the main beauty of this place, however the large grand side rooms are where the history is made. Everything from the brass elevator doors, to the beautiful inscribed hinges of the large doors is wonderful to admire. Well worth a good 1-2hr visit here.

The trip was my family's first time there. It's such a large, well ran, and Beautiful Museum. Kudos to the administration! From the curator, to antiquities, to marketing. They were personable and well versed. Wow, the gift shop even had copies of his biography: Jewel of the South, a civil rights biography of Rev. Dr. L.E. Bennett.
The reason for our trip was to see the new exhibit on my Father, Rev. Dr. L.E. Bennett. It honored his life in civil rights in San Antonio, Texas, and how he integrated Southwestern Bell/ AT&T in the early 60s. My 88 year-old Mother loved it and talked to Dad's photo. That touched my heart.
Thank you for collecting, recording, and safeguarding Texas History.

I visited for the first time and delved into Texas history, meticulously documented across various levels. As a visitor, I found the museum less captivating, given that much of the information could be accessed online. I prefer historical sites with tangible evidence like scriptures or ancient ruins. Luckily, a sunken boat from 18th century, belonging to the Spanish explorer who discovered Texas, added depth to the narrative. It's fascinating to trace Texas's journey from Mexican territory to a U.S. state. Allowing about 3 hours for a thorough exploration, the $15 entry fee felt fair.

Very clean and informative. Really enjoyed the layout and presentation. If you are traveling here without a car though I highly recommend getting a ride with how much of a detour I had to take to get here with the amount of construction.

A great hands-on experience of Texas history! Lots of great displays and video, as well as interactive video games. The first time I attended was with a group of 80 or so students, which was probably too many for the space. This time I went with a group that was small enough we could read and discuss the information in the various exhibits. It was cool to see so many of the things we had read and studied about

No visit to Austin is complete without a stop at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. We visited on a Friday during the summer and there were no crowds.
Laid out well, with interesting exhibits. The La Belle ship and Goddess of Liberty were two of our favorites. Several videos to take a rest while walking around four stories.
Texas theatre and IMAX inside. We didn’t have time to take in a show, but there were several playing at convenient times.
We grabbed a snack at the cafe and relaxed before heading back out into the heat!

The museum was an amazing tour. I had been there years ago with my now 21 year old son when they had a tour day when he was in first grade. Now we toured the museum with my daughter son-in-law and my granddaughters it was amazing. I hope to see that in time they will appreciate these type of outings and attend these facilities frequently.
Thank you for such an amazing day at the museum so peaceful and very clean. Downside is the garage parking fee $15 be ready to pay that!

It’s a great place to be! My favorite was the first floor, seeing the ship and reading all the information was so amazing and inspiring. The rest of it is simply beautiful and full of details. I especially loved the small films you can watch. I had my one year daughter and her stroller with me and I was worried when I got in, but the staff are super nice and encouraging, I used the elevators and the spaces were perfect to walk around with the stroller comfortably.
The bathrooms were on spot, the tickets were affordable and the atmosphere was comfortable.
I felt that the museum presents different and wide collections of things and information from all over texas. It is a great place for family and kids. It was a great experience overall.

great historical museum. it's a bit hokey and kid-oriented but nevertheless really a terrific museum. as of this writing, fabulous exhibition of Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art.

Lots of interesting exhibitions, well organized, really inspiring of Texas history and cowboys. I really enjoyed the short films of Texas history, such a beautiful and well made firm, the rattlesnake story was funny and the surprise part got me jump out of the chair! Amazing 3D technique and projector. love the storyline.

Beautiful museum. The exhibits are engaging for both adults and kids and show different facets of Texas. We especially loved the 3D movie , was very informative and interesting. The museum is designed in a modern and inviting way. A fun trip and unique experience. (Pay what you wish if you ask at ticket counter :) great gift shop too.

It's free on the 1st Sunday of every month.
This is a must-visit if you're interested in the history of Texas or looking to get away from the heat. The Museum is rich in Texan history. Three floors were worth of Texan history, starting almost 13,000 years ago to today. The parking is located under the structure and closes at midnight.

A wonderful museum filled with Texas history. The best part was seeing the hull of La Salle’s ship the La Belle. It’s incredible.
It has interactive features throughout the museum. Take your time, watch the short videos, and disk it all in.

Went to watch an Imax documentary. It was amazing! Explored a bit but they were setting up for an event so didn't stay. Definitely want to come back to see more.

This museum is absolutely fantastic! It's like stepping back in time and learning all about the amazing history of our state. And don't even get me started on the cafe - the food is delicious! Plus, the walking path outside is perfect for a leisurely stroll after exploring the exhibits. It's definitely a must-visit for families looking for a fun and educational day out!

Beautiful architecture. You can see Texas from its pre-history to present day. You will discover the history of the ship La Belle and you can see part of the wreckage and its artifacts recovered and preserved. In the museum shop, you will find a lot of books of every part of Texas history, gadgets and curiosity. Worth a visit.

Today my daughter had a field trip here. Everyone greeted us and was very kind. This place is amazing especially the Shark Exhibit. My daughter favorite part was the movie we watched about Texas History the seats even moved with the movie. I won’t tell you what part. 🤭 the have a Cafe for those eating there. They have elevators for those who prefer not to climb the stairs. We went up to the third floor. Here is just a few pictures. Enjoy

Worth a visit. I've been several times and always learn a little bit more about Texas history. The top floor seems to be a rotating exhibition, it's been different every time, but always interesting. Kids enjoy the museum too, although I admit they get a little bored after an hour or two. We like to go when they have family friendly events, where they do interactive "extras" from time to time. The current (Jan 2024) shark exhibit is pretty cool, and I enjoyed reading about Bobbie Nelson and her piano shown on the top floor. Parking garage is $15.

Great museum! It took us about 2 hours without watching a show in either theater. There wasn't a line, but we went on the Saturday before NYE, and we got there when they opened. It was busier later when we left.
So much history covered in 3 stories. Well laid out and the staff were all very nice. Parking was $15. We were going to walk to the capital and take advantage of already having paid for parking, but there's construction, and it would have taken longer than we had time for. Beautiful courtyard area and plenty of pictures opportunities. Definitely recommend!

Loved the museum a lot to learn about the history of Texas. Would recommend this place if you enjoy history or would like for your young ones to learn about Texas.
Joshua Salazar — Google review
Excellent exhibits, layout and the accompanying information to each exhibit was succinct and paints a good picture of the era.
A well thought out museum where you flow easily through time especially in the colonial history (first/ground floor) and lone star history (second floor).
Their sharks section, which seemed out of place (I guess the place is aimed at families with little children), has a few noteworthy fossil reproductions, including a couple which are 250-150 million years old.
The ancient history + colonizers section had interesting exhibits about the French and Spanish expeditions to colonize north America.
Second floor was all about the lone star state, and about the wars between the Mexicans, US colonizers, and Native Americans. It also had exhibits talking about immigrants such as the Chinese who built railroads and ran businesses, and about the history of slavery and racism.
Third floor was all about culture, farming, animal husbandry, oil and gas, and NASA's presence and missions from the state.
Overall a great experience.
Can be covered in 1.5 hours if you read quickly.
Recommend 2.5 hours if you want to take your time.

The Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library is a museum, exhibition space and research centre on the University of Texas campus in Austin, Texas which contains many priceless objects relating to LBJs life and legacy as the 36th president of the United States.
Beautiful space and with scheduled ticket times it’s actually BETTER with the process of pacing and spacing that has developed from pandemic constraints.
You’ll learn about LBJ *and* Lady Bird. There was a temporary exhibit upstairs as well, featuring Mohammad Ali. I’d probably suggest you give yourself 90 minutes and my thinking is that children under 8 or 9 might not find enough engaging materials... but !hey! treat yourself to a date with your partner, gather some friends and make it part of a cultural/history exploration day, or for my true Presidential Library Fans... go alone!
A few interesting products in the gift shop...

Very enjoyable afternoon learning about LBJ and Lady Bird. It was nice to spend an afternoon in the air conditioning rather than out in the heat of the day. I wish they would have had easier access to bathroom, had to trek my little one up and down the stairs three times. Highly recommend. Also we just happened to go on a Tuesday and got 50% off admission.

I recently explored the LBJ Presidential Library after it has an extensive renovation but this visit was to see the Music America: Iconic Objects from America's Music History temporary exhibit. They have a dedicated parking lot but it was full and decided to park in the next one dedicated to the University of Texas. It was a Saturday so I am sure they did not mind. The building itself is very impressive and always enjoy visiting this place ever since my parents brought me here when I was a small child.
On this day there was a lot of of people visiting where I believe may have been eclipse tourists in town finding things to do in Austin while they wait for Monday. The Music America exhibit was definitely soothing to see and recommend it. The rest of the museum takes you back in time when Lyndon Baines Johnson was president and ran the show in times when a lot was happing in America. They have lots of timelines with historical events.
Make sure to ride the elevator to the 10th floor where find a replica of the Oval Office, Lady Bird's office and collection. The grounds are also spectacular with nice views of the UT campus and Tower.

Very impressed. The Lady Bird section was wonderful, did not know she funded his first campaigns and took over his congressional office when he was serving overseas, or that she was a journalist who bought a radio station, or all her contributions including towards Head Start. He was ok too. The display on Gulf of Tonkin was incomplete, at best. But his accomplishments are many, from Civil Rights to Medicare and Medicaid. Also, the pop culture references were fun. Highly recommend if you find presidential and American history interesting.

If you are in Austin, this is one landmark you should not miss...whether or not you were a fan of LBJ, you will be impressed by the legislation that was passed during his term as President. Unlike most other Presidents, he was able to work across the aisle so that Republicans and Democrats could agree on laws that would make life better for Americans.
Margaret Miller — Google review
A comprehensive museum about LBJ’s life and his term as President. There were some interactive exhibits about the Vietnam war too. My favorite was the Oval Office at the top floor. One of the guides told us that Lady Bird Johnson worked in this very museum well into her 90s.

A fitting and beautiful tribute to LBJ. Situated nicely on the campus of UT, parking is easy to find, and admission is affordable.

As a museum lover, I truly enjoyed the LBJ Presidential Library. The exhibits and tributes to Lady Bird with the walk through the times of LBJ, it was all very well put together. The building itself is massive when you walk up to it and is a grand sight. I recommend this experience while in Austin.

Great museum. I really enjoyed all the exhibits. I definitely recommend for history buffs. There is only one request — please add President Obama and First Lady Michelle’s picture to the “Past/Former President exhibit. It’s been past two years, so the pictures should be there by now. Hopefully, by my next visit I will see them. 😊

I'm a big fan of museums. I'm also working to visit all of the Presidential Museums. So, of course I stopped by the LBJ Presidential Library before heading home to Colorado after working in Austin for a few days.
Parking was a bit confusing and I don't know if I was supposed to pay or not. But, I parked out front and had no issues. Didn't pay and still don't know if that's correct...
The admission is $13, but you need to purchase online in advance. I showed up without a ticket and was turned away at the door. It wasn't a busy place so I was able to log in on my phone and easily get a ticket.
The building outside is depressing and boring. Inside is fairly basic, but all in all, it is a fitting and solid tribute to the President.
A guide greeted me right after I walked in. She is a pleasant, smiling promoter of the museum and all things President Johnson. Very knowledgeable and kind. She offered to take several pictures and told me stories as I walked around. Left me to myself after awhile, but was a positive impression and her kindness is appreciated.
I love to see the Oval Office, the history behind our presidents, and all of the challenges the world presented at the time.
Overall a good presidential museum, a pleasant tour, and fun visit for me.
There's a decent, but small gift shop as you leave.

LBJ library is definitely worth a visit. I knew nothing about LBJ before going. I thought it's just a library and I didn't expect to be paying for it. It's a presidential library (archival for LBJ era and it's by appointment) and a museum (documenting LBJ time plus music in America). We went on Tuesday (50%, $8 per person)
Museum is floors 3, 4, and 10. Archival library (by appointment) are floors 5,6,7, and 8.
Floor 3 (entry floor) is history of music in America. It's lovely and enjoyable. In addition, there is a few minutes film about LBJ (a must see) and a timeline of LBJ and lady bird life's.
Floor 4 is my favorite. It's about politics during LBJ time. Imagine a president comes after Kennedy's assassination and in the middle of cold war with Soviet union and the rise of communism. Internally, there is the civil right movement, poverty, and illiteracy. Also, the space race, Vietnam war, Israel-Arab conflict, etc. You will learn about the thousands of bills signed during LBJ era.
Floor 10, is a replica of the ovel office, the lady bird office, and their belongings. It's a light floor.
Bathrooms are in 2nd and 10th floors
GPS will take you to UT parking which requires permit. The next lot is FREE AND it's dedicated for library visitors. Don't park on the street it's not free!

What an amazing tour, it's truly a time machine into the past. Having only been a child during his Presidency, the Library shed a lot of light into Johnson's work and dedication. While it's a bit dated, and should be, it's very informative along with a very well kept animatronic LBJ. The staff is very kind, exceedingly helpful making the tour even more delightful. Highly recommend a look if one is in Austin Texas.

Very interesting museum that provides a good overview of the times and issues facing the United States in the sixties. Both LBJ's civil rights success and his Vietnam failure are both presented with reasonable objectivity. It was an unexpected treat to be able to listen to many of LBJ's phone conversations with historical figures of the time, like Martin Luther King, Herbert Humphrey, Edgar Hoover and many more.

We were very impressed with this museum. It is very detailed oriented and very well presented. The only upset is that there’s a wall of portraits of all the US presidents and first ladies except for President Trump and first lady, Melania. No matter what our opinions are, we cannot rewrite history. His portrait along with his wife’s portrait must be put up on that wall.

I had zero expectations going into visiting this museum. I was blown away by how well it was laid out. I learned a great deal about LBJ that I had no idea about. Great museum.
If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, look no further than Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. Their lines are some of the longest and fastest in the state, making it the perfect place to experience Austin's natural beauty from a new perspective.
Our first time zip-lining and it was a blast!! Sarah and Nathan were fantastic guides/instructors. Be prepared to HIKE up and wear the right shoes. You go through a total of 5 lines, each higher up and for longer. I appreciated everything - clean bathrooms, able to lock valuables, water bottles provided throughout, wonderful trip on the boat. And most of all, I felt completely safe the entire time with amazing views of Lake Travis. You won't regret it.

My 14-year-old son and I had a great time. Our guides, Tristan N. and Austin L. were amazing. There were a few people in our group who were noticeably nervous around heights, and our guides both did a great job of putting them at ease. They are funny, knowledgeable, outgoing, intelligent, and helpful. They both deserve a big raise!
As for the course itself, it was fun, and the hikes are not really all that challenging. The views are great and the trails are well maintained. Just where some comfortable running shoes or hiking boots, and drink plenty of water, which is provided at various points along the course.
If your kids are within the weight limits, I highly recommend Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. They’ll have a blast and maybe even get a confidence boost as well! Don’t forget to bring some extra cash to tip your guides. These kids work their tails off and I can’t say enough about their positive attitudes and professionalism.
We definitely plan to come back soon for the night flight course.

This was an amazing experience. I’ve done a lot of guided zip line tours and while the zips themselves aren’t much of anything special, the tour guides make this worth it! Don’t get me wrong, the zips are awesome and long, but in the end, it’s just a zip. The tour guides though? Incredible! I had J and Austin. They worked together very well and had fun stories, sayings, were humorous and just a general joy to spend 3 hours if my day with. Thanks for a great time!

Very fun experience. Even with the overcast weather, the views were beautiful and the hikes between lines were fun. Our guides Lucy and Orion were energetic and kept the whole tour exciting. Bring comfortable shoes as you'll be hiking between lines, but they're short hikes no more than 15 minutes. Highly recommend a trip up to Lake Travis just to Zipline.

It was 105 degrees and although there was grueling uphill hiking, it was well worth it. The instructors guided the group at a good pace and assured we stayed well hydrated throughout the entire course. Miriam was especially helpful to me when I fell behind the group on the last and longest trail. Joseph motivated everyone that was nervous. He posed in several positions on the wires for us to take pictures. The views from the top were amazing. It was a high adrenaline adventure that has to be experienced at least once. Me at 66 years of age, highly recommend Zipline Lake Travis.

We went ziplining on one of our honeymoon activities here at Lake Travis Zipline Adventures. Our tour guides were Austin and Miriam. They were a fun duo. My new wife has always been deathly afraid of heights. But Austin's humor and Miriam's assist to that humor kept her fear at bay and focused on the fun. Okay so first off everything is so cool, pretty views, super fast zip lines with awesome views. It’s a hike though! I am definitely out of shape. The first few not too bad, the last 2 for myself were brutal but with that being said I am different! But our tour guides were awesome! We had Trenton who is very clever and witty and we had McKenna. I got super dehydrated, and she was the absolute best. She even carried my gear because I was shaking so bad. She CARES so much. It was such a great experience and I do recommend going. But again, McKenna is the best..she made me feel so comfortable and never once hesitated with anything. She was the real MVP of my trip so I thank her for that!

We went in March for a sunset zip, but sadly it was cloudy the entire time. We still enjoyed it. After you get your gear on, you walk down to a boat and head just across a small section of the lake to start hiking up to the first zip. Wear comfortable close toe shoes and just know there is hiking up involved. Some got winded and needed a break on one section, but it was well worth it! If you do the sunset slot you start in day light and end in the dark. So much fun. We all enjoyed it!! Great for all ages (75-250lb weight limit).

We went on a Friday we had the 11 AM Slot. I was very Thankful that the weather held out on what was supposed to be a crappy rainy day. Be sure to eat before you go because there is really no where once on site to get food. Our guides were McKenna & Conner we had a group of 12. They were very professional & kind the entire time. They were very clear on the instructions for the safety of the group. We are not hikers and were able to do the trails and hikes just fine with some rest breaks in between. wear comfortable shoes for sure, even though McKenna did the whole thing in Crocks LOL. Water is provided at each resting point/zipline. Lots of opportunities for great pictures, the guides as well take photos you can purchase at the end. The last Zipline lands at a very basic snack bar/bar. With beer available for purchase. We would 100 % do this again hopefully when the lake has more water in it. The water level so sadly very low.

Upscale resort for families & conferences, offering golf, 4 pools & dining, plus horseback riding.
Today, my friends and I had another fantastic outing at Lost Pines golf course, our second visit in nearly a year. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed the game even more this time around. The staff were incredibly courteous and professional, ensuring a delightful customer experience.
The greens were lightning-fast, requiring careful attention to avoid overshooting with the putter. The lady at the counter provided thorough instructions on where to go and how to play, including details about the driving range and our tee time.
Tiny’s cafe offered a great spot for drinks, snacks, and a restroom break before the 1st and 10th holes, as well as after the 11th. Their breakfast tacos were deliciously generous, and I was impressed by the taste of the chicken salad sandwich.
Restrooms were conveniently located near the 5th and 18th holes. Holes 14, 16, and 17 proved to be the most challenging, but still immensely enjoyable, though expect to lose a few balls.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we can't wait to return!

Nice resort course. A few beat up spots that need attention. A little tough to distinguish fairways. Price was alright but beverages were ridiculous.

Probably one of the best courses in the Austin area — beautiful fairways and greens, lots of undulation, and enough bunkers to keep it interesting.
Julia in the pro shop was warm and welcoming and helped my partner find the perfect hat. Coach — yes, his name on his tag — was Julia’s equal as the starter. He invited us to go off on our own since they were a little quiet, so our foursome got to go off as twosomes.
Fantastic way to spend our Sunday, and we’ll be back!

Overall nice layout of a course ~very difficult greens and angled fairways. The course seems to need a little TLC throughout, but overall was good worth a 4 out of 5 stars.

Well designed golf course, but the conditions and value just aren’t there for me. At nearly $200 a round you can’t have greens 1/3rd dead.
I didn’t pictures, but I would say there 7-8 greens with big dead spots that are just dirt. Generally even the other greens were very bumpy and did not roll true.
Wouldn’t recommend a round here until reviews indicate conditions have improved or greens fees are significantly cheaper. In spite of this the layout and the holes are well designed on a nice piece of property.

Fabulous course. The new changes are really nice. This course is not for the newbies. This is a shot makers course. Some really tough par 5s on the front will test your skill. Always have enjoyed playing this course and it still is one of the best in the area.

Absolutely love this course. While extremely challenging, extremely rewarding. Employees are very kind and attentive, even coming around with cold towels on the warmer days. Golf carts are top of the line. We come back as often as we can!
Ava Flanigan — Google review
Good course and love the new holes 10-13. But the course definitely needs some work for the green fees they are charging. The greens were probably the worst. But the most disappointing factor was the support of staff when cart stopped operating 40 yards from designated area to not enter. Called pro shop for support and after not being able to get the cart operating we had to walk to the next teebox. Delay of nearly 25 minutes. They got the cart working but were so indifferent and almost rude, like we couldn’t follow instructions or the suggestions they provided. Mentioned to the pro shop after the round and no different response. Sad.

Overall, I enjoyed the property, views, golf, and most of the staff - however could have been a more elevated experience for the price.
You could play ~3 rounds elsewhere on similar courses for the cost of one here. If you are visiting and looking to play a round in Austin, Lost Pines is a solid option but cannot say it is worth the going rate of $220+ for a morning round. Looking forward to giving it another shot soon if I find some discounted rates.

Such a great time with my family! We were able to do most of our shopping needs in just half of the shopping center! On our way out, we had to stop at the playground. My kiddos (6, 4, and 1) all had so much fun burning off that last bit of steam and making a new friend! Great day at a outdoor mall!

A great variety of stores! There’s also an indoor food court and you can find other small shops or food carts as you walk around. The best part? Plenty of benches to sit on and inside the food court area you can rent push carts for kids, which we did end up getting for one child. The worst part? Restrooms inside the food court were dirty. Floors were wet too because after you wash your hands, you need to go to a different area to dry them so water drips as you walk over to the hand dryers.

I’m giving 3 star rating because they closed the store 7:57pm even though the store supposed to be closed at 8pm in the weekdays. It’s so unprofessionals & not company work ethic. I worked in stores we were not allowed to open or close without the business hours. You have to serve if your customer enters 7:59pm.

It’s alright. I remember going as a kid and it was much bigger and brighter. It seems more dull now. The fountain wasn’t running and was covered in algae. My service dog was denied entry into one of the stores, even after explaining that he was service.
The pet store ads are everywhere and the dogs there live in small, plastic boxes with no room. The dogs were fighting and the woman there did nothing except yell at me for taking a picture.

This place has great collection of stores and so many of them that you’re exhausted at the end.. but very few places to eat or drink..

I personally don't think the stores here provide the "discounts" you expect at an outlet mall. My wife likes to shop here though, so I give them the benefit of the doubt. The common areas and stores are always clean, so that's good.

Tons of stores. There is a decent amount of parking. Even if you can't find one close to an entrance, the walk isn't far at all. The area is clean, and there's a lot of trash bins. There are also food trucks that have delicious food and snacks.

Really good selection of stores. Venue felt safe as large as it was. My family and I had a great time. It's a bit pricey, as most outlet malls are, but you can literally spend an entire day here and never go in the same store twice. My kids love their Crocs outlet, and I enjoy that they have a Columbia outlet.

Hello, everyone! I didn't take a picture, but it's an outlet mall. If you have the time...it is a great place to shop. When you live downtown central, the need to shop anywhere other than your own neighborhood is not necessary. However, To venture out with the family or alone...it is an interesting perspective of northern, suburban LIVING.
I use to live in Round Rock, even better. My 1st year here in Texas....I lived in a 3200sq ft
4 bed home. I loved it. Terrvista, a golf course neighborhood. It is as beautiful now as it was in 2007 when I lived there. The outlet mall was walking distance, but I'm a professional when it comes to gathering things. Lol😄😁😁🤭🤭 So
TAKE THE CAR!😬😬🤫🤫🤫 SERIOUSLY! I did stop by the house & drove through the old & Very Beautiful Community. The memories of our past... give us courage to continue toward Our Future.
Good & Love....🙋🏾♂️❤️ We owe it to each other to try our best; each day....to love each other for 1 reason. (We Are All Human.) However: people are & can be self concerned & attempt to force
Their Ugliness on others. So do your best but,
If you have to put someone in their place....🤭

Lots of outlet stores but they do not seem to be marked down as much as the items at the San Marcos location. Usually it is not very crowded and most people shopping therr seem to keep to themselves. They do have a dog for sale place in this one now but the breeds are in the 4 to 8 k range. Inflation hit there.

This place is quiet and charming. Every year, in addition to the sale offers on items in their stores and varieties of different item designs, other Outlets and events, they put on fairs that are outdoors, specifically in their large parking lots.

This outlet is beautiful and clean. For the most part it is like any outlet but the one thing I really liked was the mother lounge they had near the restrooms by the Food Court. The mother lounge had a nice couch, changing table, tv, sink, kid chair and table! It was even decorated. This room is perfect for any mom and especially breast feeding moms. The restrooms are very clean as well. The Food Court doesn’t have a lot of options, only about 5 different places but there are a lot of stores
Ashley Haughton — Google review
The walkways are nice and cool with a slight breeze as you walk through on a hot day.
The bike store isn’t as impressive as I hoped and the employees are very rude but there is plenty of things to choose from to go look at in the mall so it’s worth a stop

Looks like old place, Saturday and Sunday always busy and crowded. Poor food court. Its very disappointing that they have pet store with dogs in small cages. Just a few stores were great
Mostly they open at 11 AM

This Premium Outlet in Round Rock is very nice and clean with a lot of busineses and brands for sport and classic clothing, shoes and more with afordable prices. It felt empty the day I went there..but I don't think it's always that way (It could be busy the weekends and during the holidays). It's also a nice place for a walk and enjoying the day.

Dell Diamond stadium is the home field of the Round Rock Express, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Texas Rangers. The stadium recently hosted a car meet promoting clean culture. The staff were hospitable despite high concession prices typical of such events. Facilities were well-maintained and equipped with adequate toilet paper and towels in warm bathrooms, which was appreciated on a chilly day. Parking lots were neatly labeled for easy navigation to specific areas.
Such a great down home ball park, great family experience that should be enjoyed. It's small and intimate, but yet still feels like a great baseball experience. Parking is easy, stadium isnt too big, generally family friendly atmosphere - great night out with the famy!

Really enjoyed going to the game Sunday. Ticket prices were very affordable. Plenty of stuff for kids and adults to do at the park. If in the area during baseball a must visit.
JaWay Val — Google review
Great venue and great place to watch a game. Easy to park, easy to get around the stadium. Only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because at the beginning of the game, there were tons of bees. They kept flying into my soda. Once it was gone and got a little later they went away. Other than that, a great family atmosphere for baseball. Oh, and sit on the third base side. It's in the shade when the game starts.

Visited Dell Diamond stadium for a clean culture hosted car meet and got the pleasure of seeing the enormous baseball field first hand!!
Concession staff was very friendly although like any event prices were crazy LOL..
Bathrooms were warm (on the super cold & windy day we visited) and clean. Stocked with ample toliet paper and paper towels.
Parking lot had many sections that were clearly labeled with signs. I know they were for the games but still, organized.
I had a great time, I can only imagine how great it would be with an actual baseball game!

Amazing place to watch the Rouge Fitness Invitational. The Intel Club is very nice. Clean, With Friendly Staff. There is a bar which is nice and the staff there is nice as well. We have balcony seats which is a great view. I’m sure it would be great for Baseball too.
We will be coming back next year as long as Rogue Holds its events here.

I am not a baseball fan, always seemed boring to me watching it on TV. After so many attempts by my wife to get me to the Dell Diamond and watch a game, I finally accepted. It was so enjoyable and there were so many stores with every kind of delicious food and drinks. Can't wait to go to watch another game at Dell Diamond with my family.

Dell Diamond is a beautiful minor league field. The seating, open spaces, and walkways all look knew and are weirdly clean. It's a very inviting stadium that is inviting and fun to explore despite the crowds. All food is heavily marked up, as in a Chick-fil-A sandwich runs $10 and fries are replaced by chips. Check entry requirements because they're strict on what you can and can't bring inside, especially if you're sitting in the outfield green area.

A night on the field is always sure to be a good time. Sometimes we gets seats, sometimes we’re on the lawn, but we always have a really nice night here! The games are fun and they do a lot to keep everyone entertained. Kid Night is a hit with our 7 year old, the kids get to run the bases after the game and they had plenty of other fun stuff to do as well. They do fireworks on Friday nights, have a ton of themed nights, and have specials all the time- can get lawn seats for like $10/each some nights. Food and drinks are good for the prices you pay, there’s a lot to choose from. Bathrooms are generally stocked and clean. The stadium is really nice!

My family and I came for a game last night and we had a blast! It was our first time and we came for princess night, so my daughter's got to dress up and take pictures with their favorite princesses! The stadium doesn't feel overly crowded and we felt comfortable walking around. It was the beginning of June and pretty hot, but there are plenty of large fans around the arena to keep people cool. They have endless options for food, drinks and souvenirs. We even saw that you could watch the game from a swimming pool! We got good seats for a great price. My kids loved watching the crowd games, chants & cheers and crowd dances. The stadium is clean and the workers are friendly. It was a great family night and we will be back!

Guided tours of a vast cave, from a standard tour to an exploration of undeveloped sections.
A literal hidden gem right off of I-35. There are three levels of tours. The Adventure is best for families with young children or those who aren’t interested in crawling into tight spaces. The Hidden tour is a medium challenge for anyone over age 7, and is the one we did. The Wild requires participants to be over 13 and involves crawling and getting into and through tight spaces. It looks amazing and we will come back and do it at another point (either when the kids are older or as an adult date). Our tour guide, Tawny, was friendly and very knowledgeable. The caves are really cool and the tour gets you to see a wide variety of formations and features. There is also an area above ground where you can buy bags or buckets of dirt pre-loaded with semi-precious stones, replica arrowheads, or fossils and then “pan” for your treasures in the sluice. My kids loved it. There’s also a small playground which is well maintained. We didn’t go on the zip line ride although it looked fun. Overall, highly recommended. Although the tours aren’t cheap, they are well worth the money and give you a good amount of time underground.
Liz Sweigart — Google review
This attraction has something for everyone. The cave is good-sized and has enough rooms to make for approximately a 1 hour tour. It features many enjoyable sites and formations. There is adequate parking out front and they provide restrooms in the lobby area so GO before you enter the cave. There is a charming gift shop and a small snack and lunch area that includes outdoor seating and a modest playscape. Many groups of schoolchildren go to this attraction regularly so expect a crowd of kids. The tour guides are knowledgeable and can answer most any question. Unfortunately, this attraction is not for the mobility challenged... The cave floor is uneven with lots of slopes, bumps and slick areas.

We went on the one hour tour that goes about a mile. It was raining outside and the cave was the perfect place to spend time during the storm. They have a coupon on the website for save $1. Also they have a turtle and zip line outside. Our guide was awesome, wish I remembered her name. She shared lots of great facts about the cave discovery and told stories about the formations inside. Fun and great activity for all ages.

What am amazing place!!! The map on the wall was so detailed and made me want to explore the cave. It was fun to see the seated zipline outside before we made our way inside. So many interesting fossils and bone specimens. Very impressive.
Great selection of souvenirs and gifts!!!
The snacks and drinks looked very inviting although we didn't have any as we had already had lunch.
Definitely a great tour for the whole family!!!!

This was a very interesting place with a very good guide that was very knowledgeable able the caves. She had an answer for everyone questions. I would recommend this tour which was great for all ages. This is a walking tour and sometimes it can be very steep and slippery so where good shoes and be ready for a hour long hike inside a beautiful cave. I recommend this tour it was very informative and beautiful.

Great tour which takes about an hour. No strollers are allowed and low ceilings in places make it tough to bring little ones. If it's tough for your kid to keep their voices low, not touch things, or plan out a bathroom visit before the tour then you reconsider the appropriateness of the visit for your family. My daughter (8) says it was great because the tour guide pointed out a lot of interesting things. My son (6) says it was great because there was a lot of stuff you wouldn't normally see.

We had a blast going here. We did the 1 mile walk into the cavern. Our tour guide had a great personality and made it really fun and educational. We will definitely go back. Next time I want to do the long one where you get to crawl through the smaller holes.

Amazing cave structures can be seen here.
I did the hidden adventure tour which involved some nice paths, not too tight. It was very cool and educational. The air was a bit cooler and a whole lot more humid down below. Our guide was good, she shared some things and made family appropriate jokes.
Overall the tour was about an hour and a half long. The wait was about an hour. Its worth a visit, especially if caves are your thing.

Great smooth trail for a cave. Lots of formations. Steep trail in places, no wheeled vehicles allowed. Hand rails, must be able to walk 1+ miles. Easy for cave walks, medium difficulty as for a hike. 72° F year round, humid, bring water. Backpack not needed, camera and backup flashlight are nice to have. Most of the trail was lit.

An absolutely amazing and informative tour, including the history of the discovery, of the caverns and their importance to both the geological and paleontological records, as well as a nesting place for the local bat colonies.
Our two teens were fully engaged, and are now keen to explore other cave systems in central Texas.
Special shout out to Rachel, our tour guide par excellence! She has a great gift for making the tour a memorable experience!

Great fun, but go when it is less crowded. They do tours every 20 min, but they are 30 person max. I first arrived, like an idiot, at 1:30pm on a Saturday, probably their busiest time. We would have had to wait till 3:40 for a tour. Luckily, we were going to be going by again on Monday. We went Monday morning, and it wasn't crowded at all. The cave being cool is a nice break from the summer heat, too. You don't need hiking boots, but some nice shoes with socks that get good traction certainly help.
Overall I love this place. I have been 3 or 4 times, and went again today to take my son for his first time.

The Adventure tour was great for our family reunion activity today. Our tour guide was great and made sure to wait for everyone to talk about each spot. We even had our grandmother with us and she did not have trouble keeping up. The ramp back up is a climb though.
Jesse S — Google review
More about money than conservation, and a big wait for them to up-sell photos in the initial area of the cave. Some beautiful cave rooms, but overall experience was low compared to other caves in the area. First, the tour groups are relatively huge, and tours were packed in closely after another, so we were frequently passing another group, too. This made for a very noisy trek and some people were touching what they could reach while the guide was a long distance away "guiding" the first few people and seldom waiting for the rest of the group. It might be good for taking younger kids, but adults that don't like experiencing a cave while dodging a bunch of other people and louder than an 8th grade auditorium.... Probably a pass.

I've been wanting to visit this cavern for years and finally had the chance to do it. I was not disappointed.😁💓
Parking is free and easy to get in and out of. They have a gift and snack shop in the guest area and the restrooms are very clean. They offer active duty, veteran and retired discounts as I'm sure a senior discount as well....be sure to ask for this. Tours run often and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about the cave and ready to answer any questions.💪
The cavern itself is AMAZING. It stays nice and cool throughout the year. The rock formations are incredible and the passageways are fun to travel thru. The lighting inside make the formations come alive and the views of each "room" are spectacular. It's quite a treat to see what nature has carved after millions of years.👍
There are a ton of restaurants and hotels within the general area. This was well worth the drive from Houston.🚗

A nice day out with the grandson. We both enjoyed it! About a mile walk (ish). Unlike most caverns I've been in this one was very warm (close to 80) and humid. I suggest to dress lightly. I'm elderly and not in the best shape but able to go the full distance no problem. Paul our guide was very informative and great at keeping things light and fun. Staff was wonderful and friendly.
Only down side is cost was more than others like places, gift shop was a bit over priced and outside ride was not available.
I do recommend finding discounts online that are available.
Overall it was a nice place .

I was pleasantly surprised with how fun this was. Growing up in Utah, I've been on the tour for Timpanogos Cave, but these caverns were surprisingly different. First, they're large! Second, each section is unique. The ticket line was long (however, everyone was in town for the eclipse, so that may not be a factor most days), but our guide was hilarious and made geology fun. I definitely recommend this adventure.

We went on a Thanksgiving weekend and it was not crowded. We were able to join the regular tour in 10 minutes. The tour is around 90 mins. The guide was great 😃. He had a sense of humor 😁. The cave had about 3 large halls. inside was warm so no need to wear any jackets. This is not a wheelchair or stroller friendly path. But you can take infants on a baby carrier.

I come here when I'm staying the weekend at my dad's (he has land in Granger). This parish has been renovated and they did such an amazing job. It is absolutely beautiful! The stations are detailed and large, plenty of saints in various places (my confirmation saint is there, I've never seen a statue of her in a parish before) and the alter!! The alter is so elegantly decorated! The parishioners are friendly, as are the deacon and priest and the organist played amazingly well, like a professional. I wish I didn't live in Killeen.. I would make this my home parish. I was truly surprised at how few people attended the 1000 Mass, especially seeing as they only have Masses at 8 and 10 on Sunday. I guess it's just a small town.

Dine-in multiplex with recliner seating, a gaming arcade & a bar serving American fare.
The toing lady that check me in was super nice. She tries to save me money in every way...it's been a while since I was pleased with the movie theater service!!
God bless her. Was quite although it was spring break. We had the entire theater to ourselves!!

Me, my wife, sister in laws come to this theater for EVERY slasher screening specifically for the TRIVIA and the collectibles. Tonight we came to see Tarrot, and the food was amazing as always however the trivia experience was horrible this time around. The members couldn’t communicate very well with the trivia screen, and were skipping through some questions, the noovie commercial started playing DURING the trivia so we couldn’t hear the crew member reading the questions and they couldn’t hear anyone’s answers clearly so everyone had unfair chances of winning, and the rule is FIRST ONE with their hands raised gets to answer the question NOT oh I want everyone to have a chance to answer when they’re not even raising their hands! Plus the theater is normally lit during trivia so they can SEEEEEE who had their hands up, it was DIM during ours my phone just adjusts to the dark. NOT pleased with this slasher screening night.

This is my favorite movie theater in the area. I love their variety of food options and I like that they have an alcohol section now. The food always comes out hot fresh and yummy. My favorite are the ultimate sliders with fries (the fries are super crunchy). I have to admit the prices for food and drinks are pretty expensive, but that is to be expected from a movie theater. The lobby and restrooms are always clean. In my opinion it’s the best theater in this area.

This is easily the best theater within 50mi. Due to one simple fact, they serve beer!!
The limit to 2/person seems silly. But I am German/Irish so maybe it's for the best
It's a fun place to visit for axe throwing too!
This has been clean theater everytime I've visited, and the staff has been friendly and service prompt !
Add about 2 glasses to the beer limit, and this might be perfect

Good movie theatre especially being the only one in town. Has an arcade, bar, and food service. I didn't try the food so I can't say how good or bad it is. They do have reclining seats but didn't see an IMAX screen here. One issue I did have while watching my movie (Five Nights at Freddys) was the movie projection not filling the whole screen.

Cove doesn’t have too many nice things but this theater is one of the best I’ve ever been to! Always clean, staff friendly, seats comfortable & food delicious! Bar is a plus. They have the virtual reality & axe throwing also. Knock off some time before your movie in the arcade. We love Cinergy in Cove!

It's ridiculous how expensive this place is. And they don't take cash. You have to put your money in a machine and buy a gift card. Talk about inconvenient and time consuming. And you can't get an amount equal to what you're buying. A large popcorn is $8.50. But I had to buy a gift card for $10 so basically I paid $10 for a popcorn. You are getting 3 stars because of the wonderful people that work there. Very nice & they helped me buy the stupid gift card. Oh and the seats are very comfortable.

Great place, very nice, and lots of stuff to do. My only complaint is the prices are outrageous! They charge 54 dollars for just 3 kids and 1 adult ticket. Its 35 dollars for the same thing at Killeen Regal. They also charge a 9 dollar "convenience fee" whether you have an account with them or not. I used to enjoy this place, now you can't go see a movie with your kids without spending almost 150 dollars.

This was super fun!! Me and my family went axe throwing and had the place all to ourselves. An hour was a perfect amount of time to go through all the axe games and do a few championships. Packed on a Friday night for movies other than the one I've come to see. I'm good with it, though, because I actually prefer seeing a film without people breathing all around me after all, Covid is actually still around..
This location is so much fun, though, for kids. They have a really nice game area and also have a really clean facility, which I greatly appreciate.

Nice movie theater to go to. If you have kids with special needs, they have free movies every now and then that are sensory friendly. They also have a little arcade area with different games. When you order food they will bring it out to your seat!
This is a great little brewery/winery in Salado! We frequently visit here and Barrow (within walking distance) on the evenings and weekends. We love the free glass that you get when you do a beer or wine flight - and always bring visiting friends/family here to experience it. They have a large selection of beer on tap and wine to choose from to build flights, and often have live music. They are pet friendly also, which is a big plus for us!

First time here. Walked in and with 4 people standing behind the bar we were not greeted or acknowledged. As one of the bar tenders walked by us we asked if we just sit anywhere and he muttered “yep”. So we sat and waited. After about 10 minutes we were about to get up and leave when one of the girls saw us and came over to tell us we have to go next store to order food but they can bring it here. At least she made an effort which is why I gave 2 stars instead of just 1. I guess I missed the sign coming in. We got up and went next door then decided it wasn’t worth the effort and we went to the Shed instead.

Great vibe and crowd. The bartenders were busy yet took time to chat and suggest drinks. Huge variety of beers, ciders and wines. I loved the mead, pineapple sour beer (it was like a mix of Guinness and fruity IPA.. real good) and a white wine I tasted. They offer wine tasting and flights. There’s great discount for wines on bulk. Will defo visit again.

Went here for a burger. We came here when they first opened and we were not really impressed. But wanted to give them another try.
There’s no ice for the fountain drinks, you think a restaurant/bar would have that fixed.
The burgers were good, I couldn’t even eat all of it. The fries were crispy and hot.
The restaurant side was not busy at 5 o’clock and it’s a little dark with its black and grey interior. Would definitely consider takeout next time.

Great food and many kinds of beer on tap. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer to try them. The staff was friendly and told us about their weekly events like “open mike and karaoke.” I’m trying to talk hubby into visiting again tonight for open mike. (Fingers crossed) I love singing karaoke and look forward to joining them on karaoke night. I think we may have found a place that my hubby and I can have date nights closer to home.

Great place to try a variety of beers/wines for an affordable price. There is plenty of seating. They have good specials on different days. Parking is plentiful and free. Employees are kind, friendly, and helpful. They sell a lot of different kind of merchandise as well.

Stumbled upon this place when passing through town. There are a lot more beer and wine options than what I was expecting from the outside. Just goes to show you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Chatted with the staff a bit. They were all friendly and knowledgeable. I can definitely imagine spending a lot of time here if I was a local. Thank you for making me feel welcomed as I was passing through

We ordered lunch next door at the Kitchen and then headed over to the bar for some beer and waited on our lunch. Huge selection of beer, wine, qmd ciders. Food was better than expected and for the price AWESOME! Zero complaints and we enjoyed everything. Highly recommend.

We love coming here. I have always recommended it to other people. Food is always great. My family and I went in today and when we were sitting at the table all you could hear was a loud girl in the back in the kitchen. She was laughing, cutting up and cussing so much. I had my three kids with me and seriously it was just so inappropriate. I went and told the person up front if they could tell her that everyone can hear her cussing in the lobby and to stop. I didn’t hear any cussing after that but she was still so obnoxious in the back. I seen a few other things that were questionable and because of that as well I don’t think we will be returning unfortunately.

Mass quantities of beers from Texas breweries on tap in a fun and low key venue. Friendly staff and (sometimes) live music add to the mix. Like wine? Again, a satisfying large selection to pick from. Kitchen is available for chow if you're hungry. Swag for sale and free wi-fi, too. A good choice for a cold one in Salado.

The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum showcases local railway artifacts and exhibits, as well as equipment on the museum grounds. Visitors can also view an active rail yard from the premises. Despite being small in size, the museum is well-organized and has many interesting pieces that appeal to individuals of all ages. Additionally, there are engaging activities available for children and parents alike. The museum is wheelchair accessible and affordable, making it a great indoor outing option for families.
We enjoyed so much our visit to this museum! There is so much to see and learn about trains and their history here in Texas. They have old trains outside and a kids area for them to play. Highly recommend to visit this museum if you visit Temple, Tx.

Very nice clean place to enjoy alone or with family. The museum although quite small, is organized and has many interesting pieces for "kids" young and more mature. The museum also has a couple of really amusing activities for children and parents to partake in during their visit. ☆This museum is also wheelchair accessible and enjoyable. I highly encourage people to take their family members here as a short indoor outing that is also rather easy on the wallet. ENJOY!!!

It's not too big but there are interesting things to see. Love that there is a family day once a month, a free event that is super fun for the small ones... Girl scouts were visiting and astronomy and crafty things and all loads of fun and exiting things to do for the little ones. Check the event calendar to be able to join. Thank you organisers and volunteers for this lovely time.

Like being brought back in time, it's a must see if you enjoy old buildings still in great condition. You can see out lines of sea shells in the walls. Interesting since Oklahoma is in the middle of the United States.

Best place! Wish there were ghosts or some old people to tell us eyewitness accounts of how trains work. Love the museum!

There is a lot to learn and do here! It's a real Amtrak station, so passengers really do arrive and depart here. The museum has lots of information to learn from.
The exterior has a large grassy space with picnic tables, gazebos, multiple playground spaces, stage area for live music, and a water fountain to run through.
It is a great space for families!

What a great way to spend a couple of hours. The TR&HM has an amazing, interactive, and well thought out museum fun for all ages. My boys, 10 & 12 had a blast it was hard to leave.
Outside you can check out the exterior of many train cars, but you can also go into an engine and a caboose.
And less than 100 yards away is an epic outdoor playground. You won't be disappointed with a visit to the TR&HM.

Texas's first state park, with woodland trails, a limestone river basin & prairie, plus campsites.
I love this park! So much fun stuff to explore, wildlife always present, cute and fun stickers/memorabilia, easy to use map, and the workers have always been nice!
You can camp and utilize their playgrounds in between trails, and their bathrooms retain a 4/5 (or higher!) stars for cleanliness every time I've come through.

First of all I'm a huge fan of all Texas State Parks! Mother Neff is definitely one of the quaintest. The restrooms and showers are very clean and nice. The RV spots looked lovely as well. The hiking is limited, but I knew this before I went. I was actually able to get 5 miles out of it combining all the trails and with a little bit of backtracking at times. The entrance to the park is gorgeous as well.

Super park with nice shaded trails. Tower, pool, and a cave. Campsites, showerhouse and headquarters look brand new.

Beautiful hike. We parked at Wash pond and hiked all the way to the caves, the tower around the bluffs and back and it took about 1.8, MI. It's very Rocky and there are some ups and downs so I would consider this a moderate hike. Make sure you wear good shoes. It's very clean and well maintained. This would be good for pretty much any age. And it's dog friendly.

I stopped here on the way from Austin to Dallas to take a quick hike and I’m definitely coming back. The trails are mostly well-groomed and there are lots of little interest points (eg the cave and the rock tower) and lovely little benches to rest and listen to the birds. For most of the trail, I give the park a B+ on trail marking, but they get a C+ for the Bluff Trail. I tried to find it from the Wash Pond trail, but the only signs I saw said “camping loop,” which isn’t on the map anywhere. If you’re looking for the Bluff Trail, just know that you get there on the camping loop. Fortunately, I had cell service so I was able to call the office and they helped me find the right trail. It was a minor blip, though. All in all, it was a very pleasant diversion from the otherwise boring drive to Dallas. Also, really nice bathrooms and very nice staff.

Wonderful spot, great kid sized trails, beautiful Prairie/wildflower trail in Spring. Don't miss it;) There are two little areas for kids to play also. Dogs on leash.

Such a fun hike! I would consider it an intermediate trail. It was not exactly easy. The trail had lots of things to trip on (mostly rocks and roots). Hills and tons of stairs. If there is any rain or mud, I'm sure the trails are closed. If they do not close them, then I would not hike these trails. Super clean area. I will definitely be back! I parked at the cave and walked up to the old pool/wash pond and back...it was the perfect loop! Do not skip Bluff Trail! 😎 I have pointed out in the pictures attached the Bluff Trail that I thought was the prettiest of all the trails. Enjoy!!

Our first visit & we loved it! We stayed in the campground-all full hookups. Looks brand new too, maybe recently redone? Park hosts/staff keep all the sites looking great; the best we have seen and we have stayed at 28 different Texas State Parks. Parking is level and the picnic, fire ring and tent area is raked and leaf/debris free (they literally rake and blow-off the sites after ever camper leaves). All the sites have trees and the restrooms area centrally located for all the campers.
Access to the trail system is right off the camping area. There is a mostly open, flat and grass/dirt section and a rocky, shade-covered, hilly section. Of course you have the “cave” and tower to see along the way, and a couple cool ponds when the season is right (wet). Bird blind too.
We will be back!

Very nice small park. Mother Neff State Park is the first State Park in Texas.
The staff at the entrance were very knowledgeable, polite, helpful, and professional. The welcome building is nicely furnished with free maps and guides along with other items that are available for purchase.
Trails are very well maintained and clear. A great place to bring children for a day trip. There are a few spots that are very rocky and maybe challenging for the young ones.
Wildlife is there but if there are many people I doubt you will see any. Although I did see a Texas Coral Snake along the Bluff trail.
There is camping with RV parking.
Overall, a nice place for a day trip.

Great place for family and novice campers. Camp sites are exceptionally well-maintained, the park staff and volunteers are unfailingly courteous and friendly (even when they have to tell you that you aren't compliant with park rules - by the way, please dont park on the gravel!), and plenty of interesting sites to visit within a short, easy hike.

We had no trouble at all backing our camper in. The trails are gorgeous and so easily accessible. It is truly a hidden gem and we will definitely be back!

What a gorgeous state park in the late spring! All the wildflowers were blooming and we saw deer, caterpillars, a local cat and a skunk. We tent camped next to an RV and there was a nice gravel area, metal table and fire pit at each spot. Multiple short hikes & two playgrounds (one natural and one for slightly older kids based on swing & slide size). Clean restrooms and a quiet, serene setting.
The Dr Pepper Museum is an American history museum based in Waco, Texas, that specializes in the history and memorabilia of soft drinks. The museum has a collection of over 4 million items related to the soft drink industry, including soda bottles, advertisements, and equipment from pre-dating Coca-Cola by one year. The museum also features exhibits on the economics of the soft drink industry as well as how it has shaped American culture.
LOVED the museum! So much to see and learn. The staff was great. The gift shop and soda fountain area was our favorite! The kids loved that they got to make their own soda and create new flavors! It was a great experience.

I LOVED this place. As a native Texan, raised on the only soda there is, this museum was Awesome! There are three floors of Dr Pepper memorabilia. There is also a soda fountain and interactive workshops. The Make-a-Soda was very fun(do recommend buying advanced tickets for this and the Taste-a-Soda) The gift shop was great. You can take home everything from shirts, hats, and magnets to the original Dr Pepper itself. Also, every paid admission receives a free Dr Pepper or $1 off the floats.

Super Place to take a break from driving for a few hours. Much more to see and do than we expected. Try the Taste-a-soda... We got 0 right but had a great time with Gale anyway. My kids 16&14 actually enjoyed the whole place. Don't miss the Dr. Pepper floats. Seriously.... Don't miss them.

$10 to enter per person. You get a voucher for a small Dr Pepper at the end or $1 off at the gift shop. Everything a Dr Pepper lover will enjoy. From the humble begins to present day, this is a cool place to visit. Lots of picture taking opportunities here. Some exhibits are hard not to touch as they state not to touch. A place to see after the Magnolia Silos in Waco.

This place was pretty cool. Way more interesting than I thought it would be. It has the expected history, cans and bottles and old advertisements. But there's also flavor chemistry, manufacturing stuff, the flops like celery soda and new coke. Lots of reading, don't expect to be wowed by loud music and flashing lights. Ten bucks. 2 buildings.

Fun museum on the history of Dr. Pepper. Three floors to explore and lots of cute photo ops in the museum. Soda fountain was a fun way to end, and some of the soda choices are included with the $10 admission ticket, or you can get $ 1 off other options, including floats. Taste-A-Soda and Make-Your-Own-Sodas you can add on for an extra $5 and $10 per person. Both are very fun and memorable experiences. Pogo pass Dallas includes the admission ticket, and you can usually find promos for a discount on the Pogo pass.

Definitely an experience to share!!! There was a lot of information about the Dr. Pepper company, how it was made, where it came from and even where it is now. If you have an afternoon, Definitely check it out!!! Don't forget to get your free drink or dollar off of a float! (Which I recommend!)

I don't think just anybody would be as excited by this museum as we were, but we are so glad we stopped!
It's not World of Coca-Cola (Atlanta), but isn't trying to be, and that's what we loved! It's a small, non-profit museum in an historic building telling a story about the rise of soft drink, the bottling processes, the employee experiences, the international expansion, the power of marketing, and the passion of one of Dr. Pepper's most devoted CEOs-W. W. "Foots" Clements.
My 16 year-old said he preferred it to World of Coke (though that was about 4 years ago). That may have also partly been because it's smaller size and cheaper ticket meant we only spent about 2 hours and didn't burn out the kids. Mom and I had been through here almost 20 years ago and were shocked how much it seemed to have grown. If it was there before, we missed the 7-Up section and soda jerk / soda floats completely before, but not this time!
Who SHOULD visit? I'd say it is definitely better for someone who is interested in soda pop (or history in general), willing to do a lot of reading, and doesn't require hands-on exhibits to stay occupied. A bit of nostalgia helps, too, whether you're of the "10, 2, and 4" era or "Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?" Now, time to go try a hot Dr. Pepper...

We honestly hit this up due the proximity to magnolia market. It was a cute hidden gem that does show a unique way of preserving the history of the Dr Pepper company. All of the antique signage and marketing pieces were great to look at. You won’t need to reserve admission tickets in advance but it you’re interested in either the Make A Soda or Taste a Soda experiences I would def buy these in advance.

A very interesting place to visit- no idea this even existed! We had a great time going through the building that had such history. This happens to be my youngest son's favorite drink. We enjoyed looking through the different eras of production of this American institution. We were glad to be there and of course go to the gift shop for souvenirs to bring back to California. A great family environment and one that we hope to visit again.

A nice museum that exhibits the origin and the history of an alternate drink among the other familiar drinks !
Home of Dr.Pepper is a nice architectural piece.
The museum store gives the choices for the souvenirs, and an on site quick bite restaurant with indigenous drink gives an opportunity to spend some time relaxing.
No car parking in site. Paid lots and street parking are available nearby.

Really well done museum with a complete history of Dr Pepper.
The place is right next to the Silos in Waco making it very convenient for multiple experiences in one day.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The only negatives were the tables in the malt shop were not cleaned regularly and the gift shop is over priced.
However, if you are a fan of Dr Pepper, you will love the experience.

"I'm A Pepper", so of course I had to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum while in Waco! :-) There are 3 floors packed with memorabilia inside of a 1906 bottling plant. There's so much to take in and interact with that I recommend giving yourself at least an hour to get through it all. One of my favorite things about this museum was a "theater" where you can sit and watch all of the Dr. Pepper commercials! The "I'm A Pepper" commercial is my favorite, but my goodness, I heard it in my head over and over for the rest of the tour. :-)
Then there's the gift shop and the soda fountain, complete with a "soda jerk", so plan on an extra hour of two after enjoying the museum. Grab a free Dr. Pepper (best ever) or get a dollar off a Dr. Pepper Float on your way out.
My friend, Nicole, thought the sign that read "Tip your Jerk" was awfully rude, until I explained that Soda Jerk is the actual title of the sweet lady who poured our DP! :-D
(If you love Dr. Pepper like I do, grab a bag of Dr. Pepper Cotton Candy while your there!)
I absolutely recommend making time to visit the Dr. Pepper Museum if you're ever in or near Waco, Texas! I loved it!

What a cool experience! So much history at the Dr pepper museum. History of sparkling water, mineral water, Dr pepper, and all kinds of other soda's. Museum also had pictures and information about the tornado of 1953 that destroyed a large portion of Waco. Museum tour includes a fountain drink as well. So much history here. Great way to cool off indoors and learn about the history of soda! Definitely recommend this place.

Love it!!! Definitely a great experience for a Dr.Pepper fan or really any soda fan! Did the taste testing and make your own soda exhibits that were so fun to do. Book in advance!! Great photo ops too and awesome gift shop.
The virtual tour was kind of hard to follow and not really up to date with the museum, so it would be great if you could update it and not make it a video but audio only

Amazing museum! LOADS of history everywhere you turn, but if you're "A Pepper," it's a lot more interesting! There are also a couple of experiences to participate in for just a little extra $.

Having too much fun making my own soda today!!! 😍
So much fun!!! Make your own flavored soda for $10!! You have 3 tries. Raspberry, lime and 7up combo is good :) you can ask for separate cups and mix and match on your own!! You can also get a free drink at the end or get $1 off menu items (get 2 scoops of ice cream for $4 or a root beer float for $5). Fun for kids and adults, good family activity to do if you're visiting!

Lots of fun if you like to visit museums. Me and my husband decided to visit it and absolutely loved it. It was so much fun finding out how they bottled, what inspired them to start fizzy drinks and we absolutely loved the ads created old times to advertise Dr Pepper outside. They also have a make your own soda lab which we couldn’t make it on time but looked like so much fun. The best was they served hot Dr Pepper. It was so good.

It was a nice to see the history or Dr. Pepper. They even had cans and bottles from other countries. It cost $10 to get in but it also came with a voucher for a free fountain drink or a discount on a souvenir cup. They also had a penny machine where you can make a Dr. Pepper penny for $0.51. I recommend you go early so you can try their soda maker we went later in the day and it was already closed.

I love (and am slightly addicted to) Dr Pepper and made a special day trip from Dallas to Waco, just to go to the museum! The history is fascinating and I loved all the displays. The line for the free drink was super long and I'd packed my own bottle of Dr Pepper Cherry for the road, so I didn't wait in line. The Make a Soda and Taste a Soda were booked by the time I arrived, but it looked fun and interesting! There's a lot of exclusive items available in the small gift shop. I might have spent a small fortune 🤣

A cool little walk through with the entire history of Dr Pepper from beginning to present day!! When you buy the $10 general admission walk through you also get a hand made Dr Pepper at the end of the tour. I also recommend buying tickets in advance for the Dr Pepper tasting and the make your own soda experience. They usually are sold out by the day of so buying in advance is a good thing. Overall a really cool experience. $10 parking was available across the street from the museum.

We really enjoyed our visit. There are lots of interesting marketing things to see, and the history is pretty cool. Value wise, I think the extra experiences are overpriced. We paid $30 for a quick 20 minute make your own soda. I think a fair value would be half or make general admission $15 and include the experience. I think it would also be cool to make a professional label instead of one you write in with a sharpie. That being said, the folks running the experience were super awesome and did an outstanding job. If you are in the area, I recommend stopping. Lots of good photo opportunities.

Fun place, close parking on the street, and reasonable price to get in. Went with my family for a little outing and everyone seemed to enjoy the atmosphere. The reason I gave four stars is because you are given a bracelet at entry to receive a free drink at the end of seeing the museum. You pass a gift shop then a big area where drinks and shakes are made ( the bracelet is for a drink only ), well both the gift shop and drink area where unbelievably packed! We decided to pass up the drink and leave.

I’ve been a fan of Dr Pepper for more than 20 years now and I’m glad I got to visit Mecca! So cool to learn the history of not only my favorite drink but as an entrepreneur it was awesome to learn about the company!
I was nervous that this wouldn’t be a good place for my kids but there was plenty of fun activities for them! I would definitely visit again the next time I find myself in Waco.
The Cameron Park Zoo is a fun place to go with children. It houses a wide variety of animals, including many that are not found in other zoos. The zoo is also home to a crocodile exhibit and a large aquarium.
Not too large. Not too small. But just right! This zoo is nicely sized to complete in a few hours. The path winding throughout offers varying views of the animal and enclosure without blocking the animal. If that makes sense…. Would recommend. It was worth the drive from Austin for sure.

We really enjoyed this zoo. It was laid out very well. You can tell the animals are cared for here. Their environments were clean and the animals looked healthy. They had lots of items in their habitat that kept them busy. We went in the morning when it was cooler and that was fun since they were feeding the animals. The kids really enjoyed the slide that goes through the water in the otter habitat. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The zoo is really shaded and nice. I wish they had an interactive map. I had to call multiple times to find out if they had Cheetah at the zoo and no one seemed to know and everyone was giving me different responses. At the zoo when I inquired about the Cheetah they sent me to the Tiger :-) some staff members were new so I guess that's alright. Someone from the gift shop was very helpful and they went out of their way to help me over the phone to get me to Cheetah.

What an incredible zoo. I didn't know what to expect since it is a bit smaller town. It is so well kept and taken care of. All the animals seemed very well kept, they were very active and had quite large habitats. We got to see the African elephant come down to the water area right in front of the fence and take a bath, spent about 30 minutes with the orangutan because they came and sat right in front of me and followed be around to different parts, and really looking forward to the new penguin exhibit they are building.

Love this zoo! We brought our youngest sons here when they were little and now we get to share it with our grandbabies. There have been a few updates since we were here 10 years ago but overall it was nice to share a similar experience. We also ate at the food court. It would be nice to see some updates to this area. Lines were long and although service was friendly the options are limited.

This was a good zoo. We wish there were more animals. It seemed like they may have been doing renovations since a lot seemed empty or closed. We loved all of the shaded areas and how beautiful the layout is. This is a great place for families. Remember to bring your water bottle as they have plenty of places to fill up. We'll worth the price.

A nice, small zoo with plenty of shade and several inside exhibits to enjoy. The exhibits were small and some of the animals looked sad, but it was 100+ degrees outside, so we all kind of looked sad. Several of the exhibits were missing animals, including the giraffes, which was a bummer. My kids enjoyed the splash pad and playground, but the slide was super slick and my kids go hurt sliding down so quickly.

We went to see the new baby giraffe. Mom and baby were bonding and kept inside. We did get to see and congratulate dad from a distance.
The zoo trail is very well organized. I wish they had a map....we got lost at some point not knowing where on the maps we were and how many more stops til the giraffes. The trail has a great mixture of outer and inner exhibits. We are able to escape the heat.
We took pictures of the markers throughout the adventure to keep track.
It's a great walking course with measured symbols on post so you know how far you've walked.
We walked for approximately 2 hours, and arrived back at the entrance shortly after 5:15p.

My wife and I spent a day of shenanigans at the Cameron Park Zoo. I have lived in Texas most of my life and never have been here to this beautiful zoo. Better late than never! We had a wonderful time and matter of fact if you live within Texas and/or planning a getaway vacation I highly recommend this zoo as it's very similar to the world renowned San Diego Zoo with all of its hilly and wooden pathways and buildings. I have been there twice and the Cameron Park Zoo brought back many cherished memories as the orangutan inclosure not included in all of the photos and video is exactly the same as the one at the San Diego Zoo.

I recently visited Cameron Zoo, and it was a wonderful experience. The presence of African animals added an exotic touch to the zoo, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere. The facility was impeccably clean, enhancing the overall enjoyment of our visit. My daughters particularly loved walking through the zoo, and the highlight for them was discovering a slide inside the otters' tank. It brought immense joy to see them having a blast interacting with the playful otters. Cameron Zoo is a fantastic place for families to explore and create lasting memories.

What an awesome zoo for young kids. We loved every minute but the highlights were the big cats and the otter slide. Also note the coffee from the food truck just inside was really good. We will definitely be back

Wow! The setup is great for visitors and animals. The habitats are nice and clean for the animals. The walkways are mostly shaded making summertime visits so much more pleasant, with lots of vending machines and benches for breaks, and plenty of clean restrooms. We had lunch near the splash pad. The indoor exhibits were air conditioned and odor-free. The entire area is covered with trees so shade is plenty. They even have strollers for kids and mobility vehicles for adults at the entrance to the park. We took our time walking through the zoo, spending around 4 hours, that includes a stop for lunch. For me, this is the nicest zoo in Texas! The kids loved every minute of it. We'll be back soon!

We took our son to Cameron park zoo for his very first zoo visit! At first we were worried about the heat with our 11 month old but there are plenty canopys, indoor cooled exhibits to visit along the whole zoo. We were also very grateful for the nursery pods, playground and splash area for a good spot to stop and decompress. It was very quiet and not too busy, food truck options and a cafe(we didn’t check out). A lot of the habits could be easily seen from the walking paths so it was easy to see the animals up close. We live an hour away but will most likely visit again!

We spend our afternoon in Cameron park zoo Waco Texas and it was definitely worth it. They have lots of exhibits and all the animals, birds, reptiles are so fun to watch. Definitely bring your kids here. Worth the prize. Takes about 3 to 4 hours if you want to spend at least 5 to 10 mins in an exhibit.
The only negative I have to say is about the cafe. It was horrible. They only serve pizza as whole and not by slice. The pizza also tasted horrible. It was not good. They dont have many options either for vegetarians other than cheese pizza or grilled cheese. I mean I wish we got it by the slice.
Rest of it was really good.

We loved this zoo. Maybe because it was a quiet Monday after the rain, but also because you can do a loop from start to finish. We really had such a great time and my kids wanted to stay longer which is always a great sign.

We love the zoo. We go all the time. I got a pass and we use it to go most weekdays, even if it’s just for a few minutes. It’s a safe place to walk with the kids, all stroller friendly, lots of shady paths. Very convenient.

Fun zoo, lots of space but thought there would be more animals. My family drove from the DFW area and the first issue we encountered was parking. We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday, so if you are traveling with anyone that might have a little trouble walking I recommend getting there right when they open to get a handicap spot. My parents are both handicapped and we ended up having to park about a block and a half away from the zoo entrance and walk. It's a large zoo, you basically walk in a big circle but large sections were closed due to remodeling. We did see giraffes, one elephant, two rhinos, three giant tortoises, two female lions, a few orangutan monkeys, a capybara, a bald eagle, lots of birds, and a few other types of animals! It was a great visit just for the size of the zoo in my mind we were going to see more. There is a nice play area for toddlers and young children.

This place is a great zoo. My daughters and I have a great experience here. We went in the fall where the weather are like 65 degree and sunny. Cool weather makes it so nice to walk around. This sightseeing zoo is the most beautiful thing with the bamboo all around atmosphere. Very roomy, spacious, playground area, lots of restrooms area around zoo. These animals are active and moving. Pacing back to forth. Most zoo I went, animals are lazy and just sit, laid, sleeping, or inactive. This zoo is shade all around. Lots of animals to see. I think the animals are trained to walk around in that small habitat that they live in. There's a small aquarium and reptiles room too. Over all it's awesome zoo. One thing for sure is, don't wear anything but comfy shoes. It's huge... Wear comfortable shoes to walks in. Not too crowded. We didn't get to see the elephant that was labeled. We saw a very nice variety of animals though. I'm very satisfied with the outcome of this zoo have. I'm likely to returned after they get the penguin area. I'm looking forward to this day. Whenever that is.... Thank you for reading my reviews. If you like or find it helpful, give me a thumb up and like and follow me.

If you have a pass that covers area museums and parks, the zoo may not be covered any more. But other than that it is a nice zoo. A nice collection of exhibits and pretty clean. Lots of vultures.

A very enjoyable trip to the zoo. A beautiful location to walk around and look at all of the exhibits with animals. My children loved the interactive nature of the exhibits and especially the large playground for the kids to play on. Our favorite moment was when the lion roared right in front of the glass and rubbed its face against the glass. Amazing! The zoo seemed clean and well kept.

Once the animals were out it was great! Cooler temps kept some of the animals from being out. (Understandably, temps must be above 48F for tropical animals to be let out. I wish these animals' indoor enclosure were viewable during these times.) We enjoyed all of the animals and the beautiful landscaping.
Terri West — Google review
Recently visited the Cameron Park Zoo and was shocked at how filthy it was. I understand zoos are smelly. But this place had bird poop everywhere because of all the vultures that have taken over. And there were discarded plastic tarps in some of the enclosures…including some with animals in them; which seems like a safety issue for the animals. Beyond the uncleanliness, it was really a sad zoo. Only one elephant, which is too bad, because elephants are incredibly social animals and need to be in a pair or trio. And the one bear they have is clearly not well mentally. The poor thing was pacing back and forth in a 6 foot pattern, clearly distressed. Same with the tiger. I would not support this zoo. Honestly, it would be better for the animals and the public if it would close.
The Waco Suspension Bridge is a long-standing icon of the city, spanning the Brazos River and connecting Martin Luther King Park on the east side with Indian Spring Park on the west side. The bridge is open to both pedestrians and cyclists, making it a popular spot for a romantic date night or for simply taking in the sights and sounds of this historic river town.
The suspension bridge itself is closed for the time being due to construction. But the area around it is still open and is just as beautiful! There are still many places to take a nice walk and there is also other bridges.

Note that the bridge is still closed, although the work is expected to be completed this year. November is just days away and I seriously doubt if it will be available for the public to enjoy in 2022. The promenade is a nice place to burn some calories after dinner but be prepared, there are swarms of mosquito.

Historic bridge with a nice park around it. There's an observation platform nearby for photos on the river, the Doris Miller memorial and a Vietnam veterans memorial among other things to see. More than just a bridge.

Very nice peaceful place for the 1st time here and enjoyed myself. Yet the day was super hot it read 102° that was there for like 1 hour about 5ish left and returned abt 8ish was still hot but a bit breezy. Nice place to take some pics and just sit and soak in the sun. Nice history on this, too. You will enjoy and I think they also have kayaks for rent. Not sure how much but I know they do and the lake cruise as well.

One time visiting on my way of heading to Austin. I think it’s good to see the bridge and get some refresh at the riverside. At that time, i just wanted to stop by a park beside the river to take a break from my long way driving, but i found this historic bridge by chance. Lucky, I like it! 😉👍This beautiful creature reminds me New York in someways.

This is a historical place in waco. It has great look and a good place for afternoon walk. It is located in the downtown waco. The river looks very attractive from the bridge. This bridge shares history of this old town. There’s a hiking trail beneath it which goes up to the Cameron park and named as river trail. Parking and restrooms are available. Attaching both day and night views of the bridge.

Such a cool piece of history. Bridge built in 1870 and updated and maintained by Waco. Cool sculptures as you enter with markers and a great smooth place to walk. Even works for those with walkers or wheelchairs. It's a great place for visitors and locals to hang out and enjoy the sights.

Was closed due to construction but it appears to be a beautiful walk over the Brazos when open. Some of the "Branding the Brazos" statuary are outside of the construction area. This is ordinarily open during the evening but I wouldn't feel safe with the restrooms being occupied with homeless people. Looks like a gathering. No hate here, simply concerned as a tourist.

Nice place for evening strolling at the edge of downtown Waco. There is an history involved with this bridge that I found interesting and hence attached in the photos. This bridge is no longer used for traffic rather it’s open for visitors. It connects to the riverwalk through stairs as well as ramps. Bridge entrance is nicely adorned with sculptures which makes this place more attractive. Free street parking available and restaurants are just around the corner. I don’t remember any restroom onsite but there is a picnic spot and restroom just 5 minutes walk down the riverwalk near Doris miller monument.

They also have a beautiful trail down the bridge that has amazing views and is so peaceful to walk. Glad we decided to stop by . They also have beautiful sculptures of Longhorns that are so artistic.

Very attractive walking bridge, a good spot for photos and fresh air! You can park your car on the street that is running along the river. In front of the bridge you'll find some statues of cows and cowboys. Also there is a nice walking area nearby the bridge on both shores of the river. The bridge itself is now used by pedestrians only, but it is quite wide, in good state and give a nice views to the water, other bridges and river shores. I very enjoyed my stop here

Completed in 1869 (That's not a typo. 1869.), the bridge crosses the Brazos River in Waco. A major undertaking at the time due to Waco's remote location, it was considered to be a marvel of engineering. More than 3 million bricks make up the twin double towers. The cables that make up the bridge were brought in by wagons.
The first suspension bridge in Texas, it was built to be wide enough for stagecoaches to pass each other. Or for cattle to cross on one side of the bridge while pedestrians crossed on the other. Yes, as the only bridge over the Brazos, Waco was a critical stop on the Chisholm Trail that was used to drive cattle to the railroads.
There have been no tolls to cross the bridge since 1889. It has been open to vehicles, stagecoaches, and cattle until 1971 when it was reduced to pedestrians and bicycles only.

In the Shadow of the Waco TX Suspension Bridge lies a quiet little park dedicated to a larger than life American Hero, Doris Miller, a Waco Native. It's a beautiful Memorial and will or should jerk a tear from the pit of humanity to see such a young life lost to a war he didn't create.

An icon of city of Waco. Very nice place to take pictures and admire the Brazos river that flows underneath. It’s been very well maintained over the years. When we went they were doing some maintenance but it was still accessible to the public.
The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum preserves important artifacts and photos from the history of Texas Rangers, as well as educational programs on the agency's rich history.
This was not my first time to the museum, however it has been at least 20 years. Never disappoints always interesting, new displays and added artifacts. Traveling through Waco in traffic, do yourself a favor, stop and learn about the Texas Rangers. You can sit in traffic later.
This was my dad's favorite museum and we were a family that hit every museum in the area of wherever we were.
Loved the selection of the gift shop too.
The visitors bureau is on the premises too.. don't drive through Texas, stop and learn about Texas.
See ya' down the road.

First time here. If you're interested in the Texas Rangers or just Texas and U.S. history, you'll enjoy the displays here. There is an optional 40 minute documentary about the Rangers. Even if you're just into historic guns, you'll like it here. They have one of the automatic rifles used to take down Bonnie and Clyde. The display of historic badges is amazing. Give yourself 45 minutes to an hour for a self-guided tour and don't forget the gift shop at the end. I highly recommend this museum and I'll be coming back.

A place to learn about Rangers origin, development and their importance in Texas history. There is a lot of interesting data to learn.
The museum has a lot of information to read and also objects to see. If you like to read information, you can spend easily more than two hours.
In my opinion, this museum is more enjoyable for adult public because historical information could be a little dense for kids, but objects are great.
There is a room where they run a 45 minutes documental that it is included with your admission. It is worth it to see it. During my visit, the documetal started after I saw all the museum so, I was able to rest a little.

If you like guns, rangers and learn about them this is great place. They had so much information on how rangers came into existence and various types of guns they used. They also had a documentary on rangers which was really informative. The whole place will take about 3 hours. If you want to read everything about guns then add more time. The tickets are not expensive at all just 10 per adult and they do have discounts too.
The guns the rangers used are beautiful. They also have a beautiful gift shop. My husband really enjoyed it. We are planning on bringing my father in-law here too as he loves Texas Rangers.

For the western US history lover, this place is a real gem. Since their inception in 1823 to present they have been known for their integrity, bravery and energy. These guys are and have always been, the real deal. Lawmen to the core, and we appreciate them! They fought hostiles at first, and then in time, became a law enforcement org. They're the men in the white hats...the good guys! Love history? You'll love this place.

The museum is very well organized, with every item of history in the areas properly related to its point in time. The interior is beautiful and structured proper, giving room for information to be put on the walls in a viewable location. Each item has its own interesting backstory and provides context put into understandable sentences.
I had some confusion with the building the museum was located in. The woman at the front desk of the Waco Welcome Center quickly and clearly told us where to enter, which is the large building to the left. Tickets were 10$ for adults ages 13 to 59, 8$ for seniors 60 and over, and 4$ for children 6 to 12, with 5 and under given free entry. They also do military/law enforcement discounts, with military being 8$ and law enforcement being 6$.
Overall, great museum if you’re looking to dive deeper into the Texas Rangers’ history!

A museum that captivated my attention.
Such a large display of beautiful custom engraved weapons along with antique arms and criminally modified ones.
From their beginnings (which I had no clue of) to today's law enforcement. The good Rangers and the bad Rangers. From tracking criminals to their captures or demise.
Plan on watching the movie and spending a couple hours or more.

The Waco Mammoth National Monument is a protected paleontological site where an ancient herd of Columbian mammoths was discovered in 1978. The site now contains fossilized remains of the mammoths, as well as other Ice Age animals, and offers visitors a chance to view them in person.
It was unfortunate circumstances that brought me to this area of Waco (final services at a nearby funeral home), but my wife found this on the map along our way. Our two boys are young enough that this was an amazing break on our trip. Actually, I thought it was just as awesome!
The staff was among the most professional and friendly of any park I’ve ever visited. The trail to the site is short and a beautiful walk beneath the trees.
Pretty need find a little out of the way, but worth the visit.

Okay so bathrooms only available near the parking lot. It’s not a far walk to the place. I have a 3 because I just was expecting it to be more educational. Kid friendly. There’s a sand digging box at the top near parking lot. Paths are paved & easy. No wait on a weekend. Buy tickets up front that they do check for before you can see the bones. I also thought there’d be more bones in one location but each one was not individually marked so it was hard to tell where all 22 were.

Great experience! Very informative tour and the climate controlled dig site was a treat from the heat! The gift shop items were reasonably priced and there is an activity tent for the kids and a sand box where kids can dig for their own fossils. I think entry was free but if you wanted the guided tour of the site then it was a minimal charge, maybe $5.00 and well worth it. The rangers were excellent. Only a short drive from downtown Waco and well worth the visit.

First off; do the tour! The guides will tell you what you’re looking at and they make the experience. Anyone who is remotely interested in fossils will enjoy this site. The bones you’re looking at are real; they are being dug out of the ground. It’s an active dig site so if you come back later they may have new info for you!
The whole area is easily accessible for anyone. There’s a short walk, but no stairs and it’s all paved; and if you think it’s too far you can ask about the shortcut from the parking lot. The walk is through the woods which is beautiful to see as well. Overall I’d highly recommend coming here and seeing this fascinating site.

This was a really fun national monument and I highly recommend visiting if you're in the Waco area.
I was here for the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 and the rangers did a great job facilitating the event. They gave out free eclipse glasses and kept the crowds under control while being friendly and informative.
The ticket for the dig site was $6 and you get to see mammoth fossils still preserved in the ground. The rangers there were happy to answer questions as well. They've also got some hiking and nature trails in the park too.

If you have seen the movie ice age and wondered if you will be seeing a real mammoth then you are at the right place. It’s really exciting to think that the fossilized remains that we can see here in the digging site was a real mammoth from ice age. Other than the fossil there is a trail where you can take a short hike. This place also has a picnic spot and restrooms however the restrooms are inside the welcome center. Admission for adults is $6 and only required if you want to visit the dig shelter but you can roam around rest of the park for free. Plenty of parking spots available and you can park your RV either.

Very fun and informative! They have some of the actual fossils found there and you can look from the same room. Tour tickets are only $6 per adult. Lots of fun souvenirs in the gift shop. They also have replicas you can get closer to or touch. Guides are very knowledgeable about it. This is a newer exhibit that is still growing and they are learning about the fossils more all the time right now. Keep in mind there is really only one small site to see, mostly you are there long enough to learn about what you're looking at. The guide is good because I wouldn't know what any of the bones were if I was looking by myself. Definitely recommend for a quick stop! Seem to be starting tours very frequently. You have plenty of time to take pics and ask questions.

This is such a great and fun excavation center! The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They have documentaries on while you wait for a tour to start, and they sell various items to fund the park. We bought a magnet and a stuffed animal. The prices are a bit high, but they are normal for tourist attractions. Their gift shop sells some nice souvenirs, and they have imported rocks. They are right off the highway and have a bathroom, which is nice and convenient. There weren't many people when we went there, but that was midday on a Monday, so don't take that to heart. The cost was very low, and we learned a lot. Hopefully, they can attract more people. I only wish they were doing some excavation, as there were many cool bones/skellingtons I would love to see uncovered. Overall, a 5 star attraction.

The other animal bones made it feel surreal, the feeling of how different our environments were back then to here I am standing right above so much natural history.
I really enjoyed this and need to come back with more time.
They have informational tours, I visited on a whim so unsure of the times for those. Ours was at 3:30 then they had another coming up at 4:15 but I was unable to stay.
Wait time was less than 10mins (way less) and I did not see an option to pay online just when you get there.
