How long is the drive from Cedar City to Overton?
The direct drive from Cedar City to Overton is 131 mi (211 km), and should have a drive time of 1 hr 57 mins in normal traffic.
If you’re going on a road trip from Cedar City to Overton, we did the research for you and compiled some great stops along the way — with Zion National Park and St. George, as well as top places to visit like Cedar Breaks National Monument and Frontier Homestead State Park Museum, or the ever-popular Dixie National Forest.
The top cities between Cedar City and Overton are Zion National Park and St. George. Zion National Park is the most popular city on the route. It's 1 hour from Cedar City and 2 hours from Overton.
Zion National Park is a stunningly beautiful desert park situated in southern Utah, featuring hikes and attractions ranging from canyoneering to family-friendly trails. In addition to its natural beauty, the park is home to one of the world's largest open-air amphitheaters – an awe-inspiring spot for concerts and other events.
It is difficult to describe the natural beauty of Zion National Park in words or pictures. There are so many scenic points all over the park. Some of my favourites were Lower Emerald and Higher Emerald pool. There is almost a couple of hours of hike from the base camp. It is a big park to cover in one day but you can take the bus from the base camp to quickly visit most important scenic points around the park. I visited the park in June, it was around 80F. There was lots of water in the river passing through the park. You should enjoy the beautiful sounds of the running water :) I planned my trip by staying the night in St. George, UT which is one hour drive from the park. I left the hotel at 7:00 AM and reached the park around 8:00 AM via UT-9. It is good not to drive in the evening or night because you can cover scenic UT-9 in the morning. My next destination was Grand Canyon National Park, so I left the park around 3:00 PM so that I could reach Flagstaff, AZ before the night. Doing this, I covered UT-9 all during the day time. UT-9 is a very beautiful scenic drive which you should not miss. Do have the following with you,
- Sun block
- Sun glasses
- Stick for hiking
- Lots of water

Amazing experience, gorgeous trails! Highly recommend to visit but maybe not during the summer or early fall months because it can be really really hot.
Also, highly recommend to start the day as early as possible if you want to get a parking spot at the visitors center. The spots get completely full after ~7.30am. The shuttle is very convenient, no reservations needed. Only need a reservation if you are trying to do Angels landing.

Simply amazing! Cross this park off my bucket list this week. Worth every penny. Great hikes whether you like them long or short. The views were just amazing. Park staff were friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to share a good story.

OMG! You will love this place. There are so many things to do. The way that you enter the park with gorgeous rocks and different colors are magnificent. Do not forget to get National parks pass if you are going to Utah and different parks. It will be so much easy to check in and no extra money. You need to leave your car at the parking lot and get in the bus for the other stations. Do not try to drive because it will be blocked. Hop on the bus and enjoy your view. You can get off any station and walk around. Last bus was 7:50pm for us and we had to go back. Visited center is very crowded and you might wait in the line for 10 min. Restrooms are clean but so busy. Make sure you go to the narrows it is beautiful and very challenging. You can swim in the water but it is cold.

In awe with nature's beauty. Love how there are different levels of hiking trails. We were able to do hiking with a baby in our group and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Narrows trail is a nice walk for all. The only downside of the Narrows was that the bathrooms were not available. Wish we had more days to explore more of Zion National Park.

We visited in 1st week of may,It was busy but beauty amazed us. Had to say this park is magnificent in all the terms. Mountains look spectacular during sun set time.
-We did Narrows,it wasn’t too deep but, at few places water is higher than your waist. It was bit cloudy that day.
-We did the Angels landing, after about 2-2.5miles the trail is only accessible by the chain which is very narrow and slippery and also you need special permission to access that.
-Emerald pools trail (upper, lower, middle) are the great start for the day. They are quick simple and amazing.
-Lastly Watchman Campground,we did camping under millions of stars and Surrounded by beautiful mountains. Cold breeze and camp fire such an amazing experience.
It is so hard to capture all the beauty.

The magnificent view of Zion will mesmerize everyone. The shuttle operates within the park is great. Without any problem one can go to important view points by the shuttle.
The weeping rock is unique. Thousands of years Rocky mountain is of a great geological importance.
Thousands of people visit this Park.
Wish to visit again whenever I get to USA.

This is one of my favorite national parks I’ve been too. So much to do and see. The views are amazing and breathtaking. Every year we come back to Zion National Park we have another hike we do.
Every year things change a little because of the run off. Rock formations are altered or moved. Everything is always changing here.
Everyone things it’s always going to be super hot in the park. There is plenty of shade everywhere and the further you get into the canyon the cooler it gets. So it’s actually really enjoyable even on hot days and I’m from Alaska.
My children always have a blast here. They love playing on the rocks and jumping around. The water hikes help keep them cool and going.

One of the best parks in the United States! Highly recommend getting in before 8am to reduce crowds/ easy parking/ less heat etc. Strenuous hikes truly are challenging so be prepared with water and sufficient time. Nice part about this park is that done if the trails are in the shade to give you a break from the sun.

We loved this park. We were able to fit through the bridge with no problem with our class b camper van. We're just under 11 feet. The drives are gorgeous, and the shuttle is really easy to use. There are so many good hikes. Angel's Landing was a lot of fun and you have to sign up for passes using the lottery application the day before. We wanted to hike the narrows, but didn't have enough time.

Second visit, first time was years ago, but knew we wanted to visit again and spend more time. We did and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely a bucket list. Place people who enjoy beautiful scenery and being able to do some hiking if they like.

Zion National Park is a breathtaking natural wonder that leaves you in awe from the moment you arrive. The towering red rock formations, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant plant life create a landscape that's both rugged and stunningly beautiful.
One of the highlights of Zion is the iconic Angel's Landing hike. It's a challenging trek that rewards you with panoramic views of the entire canyon. The adrenaline rush of navigating narrow paths and steep drop-offs is balanced by the sense of accomplishment at reaching the summit.
For a more leisurely experience, the Riverside Walk is a serene trail along the Virgin River. It's perfect for all ages and offers glimpses of hanging gardens and wildlife along the way.
The park's shuttle system is well-organized and eco-friendly, making it easy to explore different areas without worrying about parking. Be sure to catch the sunrise or sunset, as the play of light on the rock formations is simply magical.
Overall, Zion National Park is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Its rugged beauty and diverse trails make it a gem of the American Southwest.

We came late January, it was not too busy and absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed stunning drives with our little ones and a couple easier hikes. The drive repeats Bryce Canyon through the tunnel was incredible and definitely something that should be on everyone's list. Absolutely gorgeous park and such a wonderful time to visit for full access.
Zach Tysinger — Google review
The benefit of coming off-season is being able to drive the scenic canyon road in your own car without relying on the shuttle. The canyon is absolutely beautiful and very majestic. Looking forward to coming back when the weather allows for better hiking conditions.

Beautiful park. We were in St George for the weekend and decided to go through the Zion National Park. So glad we did. Absolutely beautiful. Amazing sights. Unforgettable experience. It's not very long of a drive through. You get to drive through a couple tunnels that are literally through the gigantic rock mountains which is pretty amazing and see the most beautiful views. Very happy to have experienced this.
Candace Simon — Google review
Very beautiful park, we visited it on the end of August. We covered almost all the hiking trails there , enjoying the views at different times of the day and under different lighting conditions. We will definitely come back again.

It is really well run and organized. Map was extremely helpful on which trails to hike. Trams were readily available. Something for all levels. Basic nature hikes to skilled rock climbing. A postcard everywhere you look!
Michael Galicia — Google review
Absolutely fabulous! We went in November and had a great time. The days are shorter and a bit cool, but it was not crowded except at the visitor center. I could actually be alone on most trails once past the trailhead.
Two days wasn’t enough to see everything and I will try to get back.
Dave Harlan — Google review
No words to describe. Small National Park with stunning views at every location. Many hikes turns out to give the best view here. Visiting mid feb and crowd turned out to be huge. I recommend to enter early in the park between 8-10 am. Also nearby towns have amazing cabins and bungalows to stay at budget prices.
Ajinkya Madhyeswar — Google review
Too many people everywhere!!! Long lines to board shuttle buses. A ton of people on the trails. Hard to experience and appreciate the natural surroundings.
Thought the idea of permits for some hikes good idea but doesn't really help since everyone can hike a large portion of hike before getting to permitted area (The Narrows and Angels Landing). And then no one is checking for permits anyways. I think they need permits INTO THE PARK so that one can enjoy what the park has to offer instead of waiting in lines.
Shuttle busses is a good idea else you would be stuck in your car on the road up to the trails or driving around all day for a parking spot but the system has room for improvement.
We hiked Riverside walk. That was a very easy hike along the river on a paved path which ends where The Narrows begins.
We then hiked up to Scout's Landing (one in our party went all the way up Angels Landing). The hike up to Angels Landing is not for the faint of heart and challenging at times. Take your time and bring walking poles - great asset.
Yes! The park is beautiful but it really wasn't enjoyed as much as it should have been due to all the people.

Words and pictures cannot do this park justice.
We did a drive through and pulling off at some of the look outs to take more pictures and explore.
You could spend hours here and never see it all.
There are many trails available for all skill and athletic abilities.
A must if in the area. We are going back again this week to tackle some trails.

Beautiful park with grand rock formations scattering the landscape from even before you enter. Amazing shuttle system with a detailed provided map and vast amounts of hiking opportunities. Springdale is an amazing town to stay in and features incredible views from the hotels and lodges. Not too far from Bryce Canyon, so I would visit that as well.
Yash Patel — Google review
One of the most beautiful places in the world! Whatever the season it’s stunning. Summers are very busy so arrive early to beat crowds. There are two ways to do the park - the scenic drive (accessible by private car during down times but closed if it gets busy, shuttle bus during peak times). This scenic drive is around the bottom of the canyon and leads to the famous hikes like the Narrows. There is also another road, mount Carmel highway, that is open all year round to private vehicles and winds up the canyon. Plenty of pull offs to take pics. If you’re not super mobile you can simply drive to pull offs and take pics and you’ll get an amazing experience. A nice moderate short hike is on this last road and it’s called Canyon Overlook Trail, parking just after you drive the tunnel- one mile, mostly ropes but a little un-even. Parking is adjacent but often you may have to park further up and walk down. The hike provides stunning views and is well worth it. For the serious hikers and daredevils there is angels landing or the narrows - these take planning and the landing is on a lottery system now so you will need to get a pass in advance. Whether you have half a day or a week you’ll never run out of amazing experiences to have at Zion.
Amanda Caton — Google review
Beautiful, surreal, captivating views. Just an amazing place that has to be seen to be believed. Amazing trails for all skill levels. Get there early for the poplar spots as parking is limited. You can park at the visitor center and take the shuttle throughout the park, which is convenient.
Donald Maerz — Google review
Just wow. Absolutely breathtaking national Park. The hiking is to die for and the place seems to be run like a pretty well oiled machine. You must take the shuttles to get to your destination so in peak season like now it was quite a long wait but at least they have lots of shuttles. Best to take a shuttle in as parking is pretty limited. The park is fairly easy to explore as you can really only launch from a shuttle point but the hiking is extensive and glorious. Saw lots of wildlife and the views are just amazing. Only downside is that the park was packed and it's kinda hard to really feel alone ever or like your on a hike in the wilderness.
mordy kramer — Google review
We recently stayed on the Park for a couple of nights. The shuttles are pretty crowded, staying at the Lodge gives you guaranteed parking and easier access to almost all of the hikes you may want to complete. The on-site restaurants are what you would expect from Xanterra, it’s not gourmet, but you don’t have to go through the overcrowded gates to the town. I would not recommend a visit unless you have reservations at the lodge.
Dawson Rouse — Google review
I was only here for a day, but it’s absolutely stunning. There are an overwhelming number of different hikes for all levels, you can rent bikes, or you can just ride the shuttle and take it all in. Truly an amazing place to be.
I was here at the beginning of March. It was cold and windy but a great time to be here for smaller crowds.
Steph West — Google review
This was my second visit and I liked the park even more than last time. I visited in February so it was not super crowded and the shuttles were not operating. I stayed at the Watchmen campground and I liked it, except for the lack of showers. I reserved two nights, both relatively last minute. I toured the park almost all day and went through from end to end twice. First stop was the Narrows parking lot as it fills up fast. For most of the day I stopped at roadside pullouts and that worked well most of the time. I had trouble parking at the Lodge for lunch so I had to do a little hike. The restaurant was very nice. It's kind of weird being at the bottom of the canyon instead of the top, but it's a nice change. Photography is a little challenging as the light at both ends of the day is very obstructed by the canyon so there are dark shadows everywhere. The stargazing was very good.

Wide open vistas, beautiful plant life, cooler temperatures make Dixie National Forest very much worth the visit. My family just returned from camping on the front side of Pine Valley Mountain. Absolutely loved the experience. Very beautiful and the views of Washington county are breath taking. The fire restrictions were just lifted and you can have camp fires. The one WARNING! this is a jeep trail. Very rocky and difficult to traverse. Be aware.

The park is to the north of Bryce. Amazing Red cliffs. Lots of places to see and hike. There are two tunnels on the way north from Bryce. Our camper (13.3) had no issuez.

It is kind of hard to rate this as a while because it is so big and diverse. I love being here though, especially up by Navajo Lake and up near Duck Creek. It is incredibly beautiful and on a hot summer day is much cooler than the valley on either side and so it is a nice respite from the heat. There are also lots of wildflowers throughout the summer, especially in mid July.
Jacob Conder — Google review
Quite, remote, refreshing, warm afternoons, cool evenings. Beutiful scenery. Great hunting, hiking and ATVing. Highly recommended for family camping. Fuel, groceries and hardware in town at Duck Creek. Camping spots well dispersed, tons of fire wood all over. Bring your chainsaw. Few public restrooms in the forest; RV Spots and tent camping spots available. Lots of secret camping spots way back in there.

It’s gorgeous. Please keep beautiful by leaving no trace behind. It’s everyone’s responsibility to keep their forest clean and continue to be free if we don’t abuse our privilege to be there.
We cleaned up one of the dispersed camping area while there.

Dixie National Forest, specifically Red Canyon, is beautiful. We took our camper to USFS land (I think 117) to spend a week exploring the area. There are a lot of trails for hiking, and biking in the area. You can pay for a shower at Ruby's Inn if you are a boondocker. Don't skip Bryce Canyon National Park if you are in the area.

Great area to roam with the family. Bryce is an incredible place. Not too crowded and even when parking was jammed everyone seemed to be patient and respectful.

Dispersed camping near Duck Creek campground. All stores are a short drive down the hill (20 min). Lots of trees & shade for our hammocks :) We even saw a few deer! Kids were so excited. Weather was nice mid July. Caught a passing sprinkle but nothing major. Flies were a bit bothersome but manageable. Will definitely be back to explore more areas! *Bring your own trash bags! No trash cans. *Prepare to build your own fire pit. (We actually found a spot that had one already made from previous campers)

Camped out and hunted for deer a total of 10 days. Beautiful and uncrowded, I think the last several days I was there nobody else was camping so I had it all to myself.

We only touched a small portion of the DNF, but everything was gorgeous and there were enough facilities to provide what we needed. We did the Arches Trail and part of Casto Canyon.

Amazing area! So many camps spots. Quite...a few quads (it's Oct 1st.) Less than 30min. to caves, falls, ice caves, lava flows, etc. In between Bryce and Zion.

Breathtaking is the only word to describe it. I definitely recommend the visit. It's not a very long drive through it and not alot of pictures points. What I do suggest is cycling alongside on the cycle path or taking a walk. There is also a camp/RV site for those that are interested. Please don't skip this.
Compact, scenic national park featuring unusual rock formations, hiking, camping & more.
One of the places you must see before you die! Not sure if I'd attempt to bring children, the trail is narrow to the end point and even some if the adults doesn't attempt it. Very beautiful views. We found it making our trip and decided to stop on - worth the detour to see.
Mary H It Could Be Worse — Google review
Cannot recommend this place enough, it's just gorgeous. Fairly easily accessed from the highway, though the drive north gets pretty steep, so keep that in mind if you're in a camper or have a trailer.
I had no idea about this place until I was planning a road trip in the area, and we thought we'd drop by. So glad we did, because it's amazing. Stunning views and a well-laid out road. The visitor center is basically a gift store and bathroom stop.
Alex Demas — Google review
Cedar Breaks is an amazing place to hike. The south side trail takes you to Spectra Point and Rampart Overlook. The visitor center is now closed for reconstruction, and parking is limited. But there were not many people present on a weekday, so there were parking spaces available.
The views of the amphitheater along the trail are amazing. The pine forest, wild flowers and bristlecone pines along the adjacent south hills present a beautiful contrast to the bright red amphitheater.
A warning, however, you are at 10,000 feet elevation, so you may at times find yourself out of breath. So pace yourself, particularly returning from Rampart Overlook and Spectra Point, which has a lot of uphill sections. Just pause a bit and take in the beautiful scenery.
One nice aspect, Cedar Breaks is at about 10,000 feet elevation. So you avoid the excessive heat current being experienced at lower elevations in southern Utah. Still, make sure to take plenty of water.
One of my favorite southern Utah hikes.

This “smaller” National Park is a gem that is often overlooked. Probably one of the most scenic and beautiful parks that I have ever seen with a deep canyon, plenty of hiking trails, and expansive overlooks that are easy to reach from the roadside, or after a short hike.
We arrived at the park on a clear day with plenty of sunshine and the views were absolutely amazing! You could literally see for 40 miles or so, and the mountain ranges all around were visible.
Definitely stop to see this park on a clear day when you are visiting the other more popular parks in Utah!

What a beautiful place. Easy access although due to a current construction the traffic going up there and coming back it was slow. The views are fantastic. Walking trails offer nice views as well. If you love green , fresh and unexpected spots, go here. I would come back and I would recommend this place. So beautiful 😍

Stunning scenery, quick and easy hikes available. Not too far off of the beaten path from Cedar City. It's a small park, so it's easy to do all here in a day, or camp and chill out.

This is a hidden gem. It is an outstanding beauty all its own. There are incredible views everywhere you look. Stunning canyons and hoodoos, meadows, to beautiful overlooks. Critters are very plentiful, Mule Deer, Elk, Trout, and various birds and ground critters. WATCH OUT for the free-range cows and sheep.

Cedar Breaks National Monument. It’s beautiful. The drive is amazing. Views are spectacular and easily accessible. Only a very short walk to the vistas. It was very windy at that elevation. We were standing at over 10,000 feet, it was cool and windy. Be sure to take the time to see this sight - you won’t regret it - BEAUTIFUL! Great views and hiking trails. Doesn't get many visitors even in peak season. Well worth a visit. A small version of Bryce Canyon.

Absolutely breath taking views worth the drive and the fee for the park. There was 3 different points to pull off and take pictures. Plus seen tons of spots to pull off and hike. It was a perfect drive. The staff that we ran into we're very helpful and friendly.

WOW WOW WOW. You MUST make the trip to see this in person. The drive up was fantastic with many places to see the Breaks from a distance. The views are breathtaking!! There are 3 or so places at the top to park and see overlooks. We visited June 2, 2023 and there was still snow and chilly up top. Definitely an amazing place to see!

I absolutely loved this location. The views were breathtaking and it was so peaceful. It didn't have nearly the traffic that Bryce canyon or Zion had. We were able to feel on top of the world at Brian's Head Mt. The whole experience was amazing and I highly recommend it.

Cedar Breaks is a gorgeous park located roughly midway between Zion and Bryce. In my several visits it seems to be much less busy than the other two parks and well worth a visit for the incredible views and the fact that’s it’s a beautiful drive to get there. We were surprised to find pockets of snow still there in late July, coexisting with the wildflowers blooming in the high altitude meadows. I would imagine accessibility could be an issue in the winter.

It's not as impressive as Bryce Canyon NP, but worth a visit if you're in the area. Views are stunning from all the lookouts. Free with America the Beautiful Pass.

A little hidden gem that is worth the trip to. It has a new Visitor Center that will be open soon. A small camping ground that has a few trees but is near the peak, so it will be a bit windy. A pavilion just before the campground with picnic tables and vault toilets. There are a few lookout points where you can see the awe inspiring views of canyon amphitheater. Middle of July, in the high 60s and there are still some small patches of snow lingering around. A nice place to go to get away from the heat of the summer.

So beautiful. I went 2nd of April, and although their was still snow, the roads were clear to view the northside. Would love to come back once snow was melted.
Permanent & rotating exhibits of life in the Old West include stagecoaches & pioneer artifacts.
We made it on a Saturday evening just before closing, fortunately the kind person working told us if we were enjoying ourselves we could have the time we needed to see everything! Our family was surprised by how interesting and nice the museum was inside and out! Loved it and would definitely recommend it for an hour stop with great local history and interesting displays.

A lot to see. Learn about the Mormon influence in Utah on schooling with a new alphabet through the need for iron. Shearing sheep video quite graphic and cruel. Lot of hands-on exhibits and vehicles to get into. Lilacs and irises were in bloom. That was a special treat. Doll collection with a Morton Salt doll. Houses and other buildings to walk through. Ask for the scavenger hunt sheet or the Junior Curator booklet for some extra fun.

This place has been one of my favorite places to see in Cedar City! Inside there are several old wagons, cars, and other interesting displays to see. There’s even more to see outside, with tons of old building you can walk through. A lot to see and it’s very interactive as well.
The fee is only $4, and the staff is friendly. Awesome museum, would definitely recommend!

We went. It's long time of year. Super hot. I think Cedar had a little hot weekend. So it would have been better had we not gone in the heat of the day. But it was very interesting place to visit and they still need to do a lot of work on the inside. They have some displays that are working on which I'm sure will be fabulous once it's all complete. People that are wonderful and nice.

Small quaint museum with both inside and outside exhibits, as well as a small gift shop. There are some interactive exhibits. The price was right, as it was $4 a person. We want to go back during a different time of year when the garden is growing outside and when we have more time.

We had been to Cedar City several times before. This was a surprise for us because we I had never heard of this museum. We stop by the museum this time and I was surprised because it’s historical. We were shocked at how long we stayed there, lots of things to see. It didn't cost a lot to enter. I would suggest it! It’s a little dusty but what can you expect right.

Amazing little place in the middle of town. Lots of old relics from the pioneer days. Farm equipment, old wagons, buildings from the Era, and you can't miss the caboose and iron shovel out front by the highway. Definitely a neat place to stop and learn about the history of the area.

Great little museum in the heart of Cedar City. It is a state park and is $4/person to enter. Which I thought was appropriately priced for the amount of items to look at. Once you head outside the upkeep and maintenance of some of the antique machinery and wagons declined and some are pretty severely weathered. However, everything is still fun to see. It takes about an hour to see everything.

This is an interesting museum, much like most museums that give history of the local area. We enjoyed it. Especially enjoyed the iron making display.
The Play That Goes Wrong had our whole family in stitches (21-80yrs old)! 🤣 If you've seen Noises Off, it was a similar vibe. The comedic timing was perfect! Highly recommend! They even had a special headset for a family member who is blind so she could understand what was going on. BRAVO!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The performances are fantastic! We try to see a few plays here every year. This is our 27th year and love sharing it with our kids, too!

I loved the art that I saw artists had for sale. I did buy one. Most impressive was a sculpted Bull made of . I rated this 4 stars because I know we have more artists in the area and I encourage them to display their talent. Don't be shy. There was a one-man band that had a wonderful voice, and played the guitar with amplifier. He had his own recordings on record and I believe CD for sale. He also took donations which people gladly put his jar. There was a four-man band on the front patio area of SUMA. I was impressed with the drummer. I was not able to stay for the Green Show and sorry I missed it.

I have enjoyed each of the plays very much! A Raisin in the Sun was my favorite this year, but the voices on those in Emma were incredible! The Play that went wrong was hilarious (the actors need mics) and, of course, Romeo and Juliet was brilliant! I highly recommend anyone come to these plays!

I love the Utah Shakespeare Festival. It played a part in my decision to move to southern Utah, because the arts are very important to me.
First of all, the setting is amazing. Cedar City is surrounded by forests and large hills, and the views are wonderful. The campus of SUU, where the festival is located, is very pretty, with gardens to wander through, and statues to look at. There is an art museum close by, and the theaters (there are more than one) are visually appealing.
Every production I have ever seen has been top-notch, and King Lear was no exception. Anthony Heald played the title role, and he was superb. The rest of the cast was wonderful too.
If you are ever in southern Utah during the summer or early autumn, I recommend that you take a day to come up and see a play. The festival is an easy drive from Zion or Bryce National Parks, and there are some good restaurants in town as well.

The USF is a high point of my year, every year since 2012. The production quality is beyond amazing. I feel like I come home every time I attend

High-quality plays, some of the most amazing set design I've ever seen, with plenty of options for plays/musicals and areas. Diverse roles, and modern plays along with Shakespeare. There is also the free Greenshow and some great food along nearby roads.

World-class theatre - especially of the Shakespearean kind. Originally established by Fred Adams, the USF in Cedar City has become well known for its numerous Shakespearean productions. However, other plays, musicals, and theatrical productions are staged in the various halls on campus. Prior to the heavy-hitting shows, there is also a Green Show performed by up-and-coming talent in the outdoor stage to the east. There is also refreshment and food for sale, and there are two very nice gift shops. We love this place and have been in the audience enjoying various productions for many years.

We saw Emma the musical and honestly I wasn't looking forward to it. (Plays turned into musicals can sometimes be weird) It was wonderful! The stage was very minimal but worked. Costumes fit the period. And the acting superb! The adaptation was well done, the songs interfaced very well and I liked it better than the movie. I highly recommend!

USF had outdone itself this year! All five plays we saw were amazing. A Raisin in the Sun was extremely thought provoking and week done. A Mid Summer Night's Dream was an explosion of colors and characters. The Play that Goes Wrong was a technical and comedic marvel. Romeo and Juliet was refreshingly clear throughout and shocking at times. And Emma the Musical was as bubbly as advertised and dare I say, better than the book. We took a long time deliberating which we liked best and it was a tie between Emma and Raisin. Wish we could've seen Timon of Athens and Coriolanus, but they'll open later. Definitely worth seeing again. They will give $10 off per ticket this season with this code (seminar23).

We have made going to the Utah Shakespeare Festival a yearly tradition for our family because it is so amazing! It's a great weekend trip! There is little wonder it has won many awards and is regarded as one of the best Shakespeare festivals in the country. Every single play we have seen there has been outstanding! The venue is gorgeous with both indoor and outdoor theaters, very traditionally Shakespearian and modern. Their Shakespeare plays are incredible but I also recommend watching some of their other shows which are also of the highest quality. "Pirates of Penzance" and "Clue" had us laughing the entire time and even my 8 year old daughter loved every second.

Amazing! Saw Richard III with the closed caption device for my father who is hard of hearing. The set was excellent, as was the acting. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. Great performance and experience. The green show out on the lawn is a fun time, too.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City is an absolute gem for theater enthusiasts! I had the pleasure of attending a performance there, and it was a truly magical experience. The outdoor setting adds a unique charm to the productions, and the talented cast brings Shakespeare's timeless works to life with passion and skill. The festival's commitment to quality shines through in every aspect, from the captivating performances to the stunning costumes and set design. The friendly staff and beautiful surroundings make it a memorable cultural event for all. If you're looking for a delightful blend of classic theater and natural beauty, this festival should be at the top of your list.

Extremely professional and high quality shows. If you're a Cedar resident you can get day-of discounted tickets!! The info session the next day was super fun and got to ask lots of questions. Even got leftover tarts from the day prior 😊 We try to catch as many shows as possible every season!
No longer in use, but a beautiful structure nevertheless. I have great memories of seeing shows here in my younger days.

The Narrows is a popular, scenic slot canyon hike in Zion Canyon that offers an adventurous experience for hikers. The trail involves wading through ankle to waist-deep river passages, jumping into sandstone swimming pools, and some rock scrambling. It can be accessed from either the Riverside Walk at Temple of Sinawava or Chamberlain Ranch for a full canyoneering adventure.
9 mile out and back hike up the virgin River. Unforgettable waterfalls and rock formations. Seeing sunlight filter through snow melt from the rocks is a unique experience. If you pay close attention you can see a number of small springs bubbling up into the river, and openings to larger cavities in the rock. Definitely recommend getting waterproof bibs and shoes for rent in the March-April season. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

This is a difficult hike but extremely rewarding. This may have been the best most unique hike of my life no joke. it is hard to see the rocks and it's easy to slip, but you get used to it after 45 minutes or so. Know you limits and do not rush. We did the whole trail that you don't need a permit for and it practically took all day but it was amazing. Go Early to avoid the crowd and the heat! Trust me this is worth waking up early for. Get the rental gear too if you can. My feet are usually always cold but these neoprene boots kept my feet warm the whole time! This is a once in a lifetime hike and scenery to do with the ones that you love! Have fun!

Finally walked the Narrows. It was so much fun! We went in mid September, and the weather was perfect! The water temperature was mild, and you can wear shorts and water shoes. Make sure you bring walking sticks!
Enjoy and have fun!

If you're looking for a phenomenal hike!! Start with this hike. Early morning, it could take from one hour to 4 or 5 hours. It all depends on the distance you want to travel.
Be careful with the rocks. You definitely need two sticks, if possible. It helps you balance yourself. As you're walking through the Rocky River.
The views are amazing breathtaking!! 👏 Something you have to see for yourself with your own eyes I highly recommend it.

What a fun family hike in the river, and what awesome cuts through the sandstone! The water was cold, yet was about 2.5 feet deep at most at end of May. Having two trekking poles (as opposed to just one) and wading sandals/watershoes with decent tread really helped with stability in the river. The morning air/breeze was cold, so windbreaker jackets are recommended at the very least! Some of the best, most fascinating portions of the hike were right before arriving at Orderville Gulch - definitely worth the trek!

A must do when in Zion. Once you get to the parking area there is about a 1 mile nice paved walk. Thereafter, the hike starts to involve walking in cold water and in some instances there are strong currents. It's a very nice and unforgettable experience.

Hike of a lifetime! Went in mid-October with my siblings. Rented gear from Zion Guru (a must) as water temps in The Narrows were in the 40's. The gear allowed us to thoroughly enjoy the breathtaking sights for as long as daylight would permit. Water was relatively low...except for "the hole" about .2 of a mile into the hike. I'm 5'3" and the water was chest deep on me.
Bonnie Hesselman — Google review
This is one of the most epic hikes - but there are many things to consider so that your hike is enjoyable and safe. Information below will be for a bottom up hike (out and back) that does not require a permit.
Gear: The Narrows can be hiked year round. In colder months, you want to be sure to get the appropriate gear so that your core body temperature does not drop. We rented waders, water shoes, neoprene socks, and a walking stick from Zion Outfitters. This kept us warm when hiking in March. The stick was such a valuable part of the gear because it is challenging to find solid footing at times when walking through the river. The stick helps you to maintain balance. *You can pick up your gear after 4 on the day before your hike so you can start early the next morning.
Water: You will need to pack in your own water. The water in the Virgin River is not potable due to cyanobacteria.
Parking: From mid-March to October, the park runs a shuttle bus from the visitor center to the Temple of Sinawava (the stop for The Narrows). If the shuttle is not running, you will have to drive to the parking lot at the Temple of Sinawava. Due to limited parking - get there very early (before sunrise) to get parking. You can rest in your car once you have a spot. If you arrive late, you. will have to park up the road at other roadside spots, and. this will add additional miles to your hike.
Distances: From the Temple of Sinawava, you begin walking on the Riverside Walk Trail. This is an easy, paved path for approximately 1.5 miles. At the end of this path, stairs lead down to the river. At this point, you will begin walking in the river. The water can get waist deep (or higher). Check with the park rangers before doing The Narrows because flash flooding can be dangerous.
You can walk as far as you want and then turn around to return to the Temple of Sinawava. If you want to see Wall Street (where the canyon becomes narrrow), you will need to walk approximately 2 miles once you enter the water at the end of The Riverside Walk Trail.

Amazing hike, but crowded as f.
I've done the Narrows "top-down" a couple times, and THAT is a beautiful hike. You spend the first three quarters in complete solitude, and it's really beautiful and peaceful. Magical.
But hikers from the bottom of the canyon are able to hike up to Big Spring without a permit, and after this point (coming down) it becomes increasing busy, and by the last mile or so before the Temple of Sinawava it becomes extremely crowded. This is perhaps the most spectacular section, so most people get to see it, but few get to enjoy it because you spend more time navigating around other hikers than you do marvelling at the incredible scenery.
Zion Narrows is perfect for tourists, but I'd advise real adventurers, and anyone looking for a little solitude, to go for the top-down, or to look elsewhere. The top-down is limited by permit, and is said to be a "minimum 10 hour" hike. But this old fat man did it easily in six and a half including the mile-long Riverside Walk to the shuttle, which is not generally considered part of the hike.
As for practicalities, the bottom up hike is almost entirely in the river. Choice of footwear makes a big difference. I've done it top down in the river boots you can rent in Springdale, and these are perfect - great grip, warm and lots of support. But I've also done it bottom up in FiveFIngers and barefoot - and if you are a confident walker - it's perfectly doable. The rocks in this lower part are a little more slippery than further up the river, so be careful, but they are not very slippery. A stick helps with balance when you are choosing your footing in the river's faster flowing sections, a trekking pole works OK, but the stout wooden sticks provided by the Narrows Outfitters are even better.

We did the first mile of The Narrows trail with our 13, 12 and 3 year old (she was in a carrier) and it took my breath away with the beauty. This is a must do if you're visiting Zion. There were people of all fitness levels and ages on the path. I'll be back to do the full hike someday!

There are a few things you need to know before doing this hike. This is a difficult hike but extremely rewarding.
-listen to the weather reports as it can be dangerous in heavy rain downpours
-go early to avoid the crowd and the heat! You can start later in the day in summer but parking is very tricky 😏
-get the rental gear and walking stick, (the neoprene boots will keep your feet warm)
- bring dry bags, the water can be above thigh to waist high, protect your electronics only bring water and food
Some hikers choose to go barefoot and not use walking sticks BIG MISTAKE!! They undoubtedly will fall and get frustrated, don’t be that person! Be smart and rent the recommended gear. Some areas the waters can get up to waist high level, strong currents, and slippery rocks. Some of these rocks are hard to see and it's easy to slip, but you get the hang of it after 30 minutes or so. Know your limits take it slow, you will be fine. You will see people of all fitness levels and ages on the path. This trail will take you all day to complete. Enjoy and have fun!

Went in August 2023 water was refreshing surprisingly not cold. Lots of rocks under water , having a stick was useful. I hired the socks and shoes at Zion Park , the socks and shoes stopped the sand getting in and were very comfortable. I saw many wearing there normally hiking shoes and a few in water shoes. 2.5 litres of water was enough. I could go to very end after big rock as I didnt have a dry bag and you had to swim.

We took the bus from the visitor center in zion park and were droped at the entrance of the narrows. We walked aprox 10 min to get there and on the way we saw wild deer and squirels. Once you reach the entrance you better have water shoes. The views were breathtaking and the whole experience is out of this world. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who is looking for an amazing and unique hike!

I have been wanting to do this hike for years! Finally went for it! I will say I was not prepared for the water to be as cold as it was!!!!!! Brrrrrrr........next time I will definitely wear a wet suit! It was 102 degrees but the water is almost all located in the shaded areas and it makes it that much colder! But it was by far soooooooo much fun! We git up super early to do this and secured a good parking spot at the visitors center and when we went out it was already starting to pack with people but it was so much fun!

Best hike ever. We went in July and the water was a little brown, it wasn’t clear as shown in other pictures. The hike was moderate, my kids really enjoyed it becuz they got to walk in the water. We started from the entrance and walked for 3 hours to the tributary then walk back for another 3 hours.
Angels Landing is the most popular peak in Zion National Park, and for good reason. Its a steep climb up to stunning views of the valley below. The trail is challenging and strenuous, but well worth it to get those amazing views.
Here's why this is the ideal hike. Much of this hike is paved with many switchbacks and beautiful views the entire way. The view at the top, before the chains is spectacular. So if you don't win a lotto spot for the chains, this portion is definitely worth the hike.
The chains portion was was fun and the additional views are certainly worth it, but honestly, the chains portion is more about the adventure than the views.

On St Patrick's day we had the luck of the Irish and won the lottery to hike Angels Landing in Zion NP! My wife was too scared to hike the dangerous/best part. But my son and I did it, and the dangerous hike was well worth it for the amazing views!!! This is so far the best hike we've ever hiked!

The hike is beautiful, but not for the faint of hearted. The scouts trail up is strenuous but doable uphill, and angels landing you need to be very careful. The whole experience is amazing though, definitely worth it.

This is the most beautiful and exciting hike I've ever done. You can do the full thing in around 4 hours. It looks scarier than it actually is and it's not difficult. Just be very careful to not slip on the sections without chains. You also need to get a permit (can apply the day before).

Such a beautiful hike. It is strenuous but with the views. Much of the path is paved so easy to walk on. Must register ahead of time if you want to be able to hike to the top portion of Angels landing where the trails are more narrow and they have chain to help you pull yourself up.

Hiking Angels Landing in Zion National Park was an unforgettable adventure for me. The trail started with a challenging climb up Walter's Wiggles, a series of steep switchbacks offering glimpses of the stunning Zion Canyon below. The highlight of the hike was the nerve-wracking but exhilarating narrow ridge leading to Angels Landing, where chains provided much-needed support along the sheer cliffs. Reaching the summit rewarded me with a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view that left me in awe. It's an absolute must-do for anyone seeking both adventure and the beauty of nature.

The view at the top is worth the hike up. Steep switchbacks before being exposed to vertical drops on both ends until you reach the summit. It's definitely a memorable hike to say the least. But you'll have to ballot for the permit so remember to do that. And go early to avoid the crowd!

Just did this trail right before the lottery went into effect. It was amazing!!! A bit scary for January as there was ice and snow on the trail. Some yak tracks helped in those places. This is worth the hike. My 11 yr old son and made it to scouts landing in about 45min of steady walking then it took another hour to make it up to the peak. In Jan there was not as many people as I've been told are there in the summer. Take your time and be respectful of those going up and down. There are plenty of passing locations that are wide enough to wait for a group to move through. The wiggles are pretty icy right now (in Jan) so stick to the edges and walls.

This is one of the most beautiful but challenging hikes in zion national park. This is a moderate to hard trail mostly due to the elevation changes and the switch backs to ascend to the start of the final ascent where the chain portion starts. You will need a permit to hike past scouts landing, which is where the chain section starts. There are a few spots on this section that are a bit intimidating. There are a number of spots that are a vertical climb with the chain, which I would advise people to take it slow and steady. The challenge is definitely worth the destination as you get a beautiful view of the park. I would HIGHLY recommend that you go early if you have that permit. We had a permit for before 9am. We got there around 7:30 which was the perfect time. Past 9am there were a lot more people hiking it which made the already daunting trail even more intimidating. If you aren't afraid of heights, this is definitely worth the hike.
Lindsey Schreiner — Google review
Wow! What a rewarding feeling when you complete this hike. If you have problems with heights, definitely avoid. Definitely on the moderate to difficult end from a hiking perspective. It’s about 2 miles of a fair ascent to get to the final difficult portion where you have portions you will use a chain for steady climbing with drops on both sides of you. Bring water and good shoes. Also, make sure you get your permit to be able to attempt the hike. The views at the end are amazing. Worth the hike. Highly recommend.

What a ripper of a hike! Absolutely loved it!
The weather was great in early March 2024, dry and sunny. Make sure you bring your ID and get a permit for the hike. They do check it on the entrance to the hike. The checked me twice in fact, at the bottom of the hike, right after I got off the bus, and right before the Angels Landing hike itself. Bring snacks, bring water, sunscreen/sunglasses, and some layers just incase. You are in the mountains, so the weather does change.
Don’t bring a massive pack with you. Angels landing hike is a bit triply at times, very very open. A great challenge if you are afraid of heights 😉😉 (like I am)
I loved the hike up too. The formations are beautiful, the views are great, the path is very well maintained.
It was already pretty busy on the hike, so may be try going in earlier in the day. Although note that if your permit is for midday, you won’t be able to start the Angels Landing portion until midday.
Buses in Zion start running from early March until late November. This Bus is free. Comes every 5ish minutes.
If in doubt on the way down, scutch on your bum for safety :) when looking around on your hike at the top, make sure you are grabbing onto something, because it can get very disorienting and dizzying being so high without anything around on top of a cliff face from both ends.
Lots of cute chipmunks on the way up too! Watch out as they may get in your bags for snacks, if your bag is open/not attended.
There are bathrooms at the bottom of the Angels Landing/at the Scouts lookout.
Overall the sign at the bottom says that the hike can take you from 3-4 hours, which is representative. Depends how quickly you are willing to go through the height section, very open section at the top (a little technical). Also, how often you stop to take photos. I know someone who has done the whole thing in 2 hrs return, however they had no one around (no waiting on people in line), they did not take any photos/videos (as they were doing a PB), and they were not afraid of heights (so they moved super quickly), plus super fit ofcourse.

The scariest and the most spectacular hike I've done...twice. It will be like nothing you've done. I think it's a must when visiting Utah, though you definitely need to be in good shape, both for the long hike in and for the hike UP. Those with knee issues would want to wear braces or tape. Poles would help some, for sure.

Great hike. Little over 5 miles out and back. You will need a permit to go to the top of Angels Landing. If visting in winter, you will need some type of ice cleats or microspikes. Switchbacks were some decent incline. Go early to avoid waiting around some of those chain areas.

Even if playing the lottery can get a little annoying, hang in there! It is worth it!
If you are in decent shape, you can hike this; it’s really not as grueling or scary as some make it out to be! I did it at the end of my first trimester. Have confidence :) I saw all ages of people on this hike that made it to the top. Although, I can see you having an issue if you’ve got a bad fear of heights; at some points, the climb is vertical and it gets steep.
It is a really fun journey to get up there and you will feel accomplished and happy that you did it.
You will also see cool condors and aggressively cute chipmunks that aren’t shy to beg for your snacks.
If I were to do it again, I’d pack a lunch to eat at the top.
Pack plenty of water and wear sunscreen! Wear decent shoes though for sure. I wore a pair of Brooks Glycerins and did just fine.
The Emerald Pools Trailhead in Zion National Park is a popular hiking route leading to waterfalls and emerald-colored rock pools. The trail offers options for both short strolls and longer, more strenuous loop trails, with three pools along the way. The Lower Emerald Pools are just a half-mile hike to the falls, while continuing on leads to the Middle Emerald Pools and climbing stairs to reach the Upper Emerald Pools.
The trail to the three emerald pools is a pretty easy hike. There are some sections that are paved, rocky, sandy and lots of stairs if choosing to go to the upper and middle pools. The lower Emerald Pool hike is the easiest, followed by the middle emerald pool and lastly the upper emerald pool. All three of the pools have pretty nice views and offer different experiences. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete the hike to all three of the emerald pools. Best to hike this trail later in the afternoon that way you are in the shade, especially in the summer as it can get very hot.
Damian Panek — Google review
NOTE: the connector to Kayenta Trail is currently blocked by a somewhat large rock slide.
Other than that, it was a fairly easy trail. It's paved all the way to the Lower Pool, but if it's snowed recently, the trail will be icy, muddy, and slippery. After the Pool there apparently was a smaller rock slide and the trail gets a little rougher. It's a pretty short, easy hike, though, and is very accessible for children. Be sure to get there first thing in the morning or after lunch in the off-season for parking.

I think this is a beautiful hike, but some of the information is misleading. There are actually some very difficult areas with stairs and often times mud. If you are strong and sure footed I bet this is a 5 stars for your rating, however if you have older people in your group that aren't that sure footed you might be turning around mid trail. There are many areas of congestion on a busy weekend with everyone going both ways going through a narrow slot between massive rocks. There are several areas that are just a dirt (often muddy) path on the edge of a drop, or wet natural stone stairs - so plan accordingly. There were several times when we were in a massive line of people because many people thought this was an 'easy' hike and it wasn't. Great views and beautiful water, but many people mislead and turning back.

This is a great trail to do in Zion - interesting and fun geological features. I recommend starting at stop five on the shuttle (the Zion Lodge stop). From here, you cross the road and walk up a paved (wheelchair accessible) incline to Lower Emerald Pools. To do the loop with all three pools (starting at the Zion Lodge and ending at The Grotto) is approximately 3 miles.
This spot has waterfalls that come over the top of the trail and you walk behind (or through). This is the end point for the wheelchair accessible trail, and from this point, there will be more climbing to the other two pools.
There is a stairway between giant boulders after the Lower Emerald Pool. Once up the stairway, there is a sign pointing left for Middle and Upper Emerald Pools or right for the Grotto. Go left for an out and back trip to the other two pools - this route is steep and is considered moderate. The middle pool is directly above the lower pool. It is the smallest of the three. The Upper Emerald Pool is approximately 200 feet above the middle pool, and it sits at the base of a cliff.
After seeing the upper pool, return back to the split near the lower pool. Take the path that leads to The Grotto. This will mostly be downhill. You can catch the shuttle at The Grotto.
Note: This area gets crowded - and the rocky terrain can be challenging - be aware. It is a beautiful hike with rewarding stops along the way.

Found that easy/moderate trails push me to my limit. Know your limits so that you do not need to be rescued. But the views are jawdroppingly beautiful. Very majestic. Pictures do not do it justice. This is one of those experiential activities. There is no substitute to standing near, or hiking one of Zions trails.

One of the great things about this trail is you can make it as easy or difficult as you'd like depending on your fitness levels and/or what you're looking for out of the hike. The lower pool is a relatively short mostly flat hike that goes underneath a "waterfall." The middle pool is longer and has uphill sections but it is still a pretty easy hike. Continuing to the upper pool requires more hill climbing and I would say is a moderate difficulty hike. If you're in decent shape and have the time, I'd recommend all three.
The pools were nice, but the best part of the hike for me was the views of the valley to the east and the mountains on all sides. If you're up for a good hike, I'd recommend doing at least the middle and upper pools, then rather than returning via the Emerald Pools Trail, take the Kayenta Trail back. This leads you to a different shuttle stop, but it's just as close to the trailhead as the Emerald Pools Trail, and you get some different views along the way. This is one of the more popular hikes in Zion, especially among people not fit enough for Angel's Landing or prepared enough for the Narrows, so be prepared to deal with lots of people on your hike

Great hike. We ended up doing just over 4 miles. Be sure to park at the main park visitors center and take the transport up. The bridge was out across the river for the Emerald Pools area so we got off at the further stop then hiked down to the stop before the emerald pools stop.

The hike was nice and there were amazing views. I did the lower and middle pool trails. Narrow paths and staircases probably get very crowded when the park is busy. Need to use the shuttle to get to this hike when the road is closed to thru traffic

Nice easy hike to see a couple pools of water coming from the rock face. Definitely worth the trip if in Zion.

Enjoy the hike and trail but don't have high expectations from the pools. Pools were more of a puddle than pool. We only visited lower and middle emerald pools.
The trail is really fun and offers stunning views . The trail is a combination of dirt, paved and stairs. There's actually quite a lot of stairs. Lower and Middle emerald pools are close to each other and can be easily completed. The upper emerald pool is 0.3 miles from the middle emerald pool.
Due to the heat, the pool was dried and someone on their way back showed us the picture of the upper pool and we decided not to go. The trail is accessible from lodge but they closed the bridge for work and we had to access it from the Grotto.

This is an amazing trail for beginners and moderate hikers as well as kids in Zion National Park is around 4 miles. Very cool trail has several spots for lookout the views and waterfalls are amazingly beautiful. TIP: don’t expect these “pools” to be deep like a standard home pool though, depending time of year you go the water may recede. Make sure to check out the lower and upper pools.
I love nature, I’m inspired by the strength of other living beings. It makes me happy breathing clean fresh air. 😃

This was a beautiful trail that was not too difficult for our family including my three girls, 9, 11, 13 which have very little experience hiking. The path was wide and simple to follow; I think most people would be able to do this trail at least to the Lower Falls, which are definitely worth seeing. We went to lunch at Zion Lodge afterwards, which made for a nice rest.
Zion Canyon Scenic Drive is a picturesque route perfect for leisurely drives, bike rides, and seasonal shuttles. The road offers stunning views of red-rock canyons and towering cliffs, making it an ideal way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the park. Whether you're seeking a relaxing drive or an active exploration by bike, this scenic route promises unforgettable vistas of the rugged landscape.

Absolutely fabulous! We went in November and had a great time. The days are shorter and a bit cool, but it was not crowded except at the visitor center. I could actually be alone on most trails once past the trailhead.
Two days wasn’t enough to see everything and I will try to get back.

Beautiful, surreal, captivating views. Just an amazing place that has to be seen to be believed. Amazing trails for all skill levels. Get there early for the poplar spots as parking is limited. You can park at the visitor center and take the shuttle throughout the park, which is convenient.

The Kolob Canyons in Zion National Park are a series of red rock canyons that offer great views. They're accessible via a scenic drive or a hike, and there are plenty of trails for hiking if the crowds are thick.
Just off of I-15 and only a 5 mile road that have some wonderful vistas. We happened to go on a day that had snowed. The snow added to the contrast of the red rocks. There is a $35 National Park fee. We were lucky we have a National Park pass.

This is such a great addition to Zion National Park. Zion has two parts, the huge, heavily populated side (totally worth going to) and this side. You can really get a great appreciation of the landscape in a short amount of time here. It is also much easier to get to, since it is just an exit off the highway and you are there. We went to the other side of Zion one day, and visited this one on the way back from Bryce Canyon NP. We didn't do any trails, but this would definitely be the way to go if you are short on time, or if have small children. We loved Zion, but the easier trails we were sticking too were heavily populated and are used as a connector trail to get to some of the harder and more popular ones. So we felt like we were in others way going at our small children walking pace. Kolob would have probably been a better place to family hike. The drive alone is spectacular. At the top there is a nice infographic with the elevations of the mountains listed. It's pretty humbling to see the thousand feet differences in the mountains right in front of you, giving you a better idea just how huge the cliffs are.
Nathalie Lu — Google review
This is the northern section of Zion. However, it is about an hour away from the main entrance.
The best part is it is just as scenic and is NOT crowded!
We included it on our plans as we were driving from Bryce back to Las Vegas.
The road is a very short drive to the end and there is a one mile hike that ends in a very scenic view of the entire canyon! Definitely worth the extra hike.
There is also a very nice shaded picnic area at the end of the road with latrines.
We spent about two hours which allowed us just enough time to see it.
There are several hiking trails that are available if you really wanted to experience the area.
I am glad we stopped by!

The Lee Pass trailhead comes out to about 15 miles round trip, recommended for some amazing scenic views of the north side of Zion National Park. The wind can get pretty bad and the arch is (sort of) underwhelming as it doesn’t protrude as much and is hard to see. Beautiful hike

Kolob Canyons is a great, 5-mile scenic drive through Zion’s National Park! There are lots of good trails for hiking, but also plenty of spots to just pull off and enjoy the view. They have nice bathrooms at several of the trailheads.
Also, there wasn’t hardly any traffic when I went, which was especially surprising for a nice, summer evening.

Nice scenic 5 mile drive with some spectacular views and rock formations. Kolob Canyon is right off Highway 15 so there’s easy access on and off. There is a nice hike at the top, I didn’t do it but will next time.
Paved 3.5-mi. trail for walking and cycling that follows alongside the Virgin River.
It’s an awesome trail to go with kids, spectacular views. Note- scenic route buses don’t stop at number 3 to the valley, you can only take buses which comes back to visitor centre.

What more is there for me to say. It’s a beautiful park, various hiking trails, having to take shuttle to trails was a little bit of hassle, other than that, everything was great. Recommend that you go in by car not by walking/biking since it’s $30/car but $20/person if walk in.

Hike and Bike trail, extremely well paved and takes you from the visitor center to the entry point of the park. Rent an Ebike, skip the shuttle, and use this path to your advantage. The park is 24/7. Multiple bridges over the Virgin River lead to some incredible shots as you're nestled between the mountains. This path is incredibly easy with small pockets of shade. As you walk, you'll be doing a constant 360⁰ so try not to get too dizzy and minimize your rotations. 🤑

Dale and JR were fantastic. I’ve been horseback riding several times before. But this experience is unlike any other I’ve done. The terrain was a lot different. Typically they take you on a normal path that’s pretty easy. JR took us on what felt like off path but was so much more enjoyable from the views to the feeling of actually riding a horse instead of just being on a horse that knows the path really well so you don’t have to do anything. JR was also full of conversation so there was never a dull moment anytime throughout the ride. But also gave us the time when looking at everything to just soak it in. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in the area or thinking about it. Also JR was kind enough to stop at an amazing place to take pictures of me and my girlfriend and also a small walk to look at some Indian carvings in the rocks.

Great place to go for a ride! Dale has some of the best trained horses I've ever ridden. My son has only ridden once before and I am a seasoned rider. He and the horses made us both feel comfortable. Trails were amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

My family and friends recently embarked on a trail riding adventure with Blue Sage, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! Our trail guide, Dell, truly made the experience unforgettable. Not only was Dell professional and courteous, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in our group felt comfortable and confident with the horses.
One aspect of the experience that stood out was Dell's dedication to sharing local history throughout the ride. His knowledge of the area added a fascinating dimension to our journey, allowing us to appreciate the scenery on a deeper level. We even had the opportunity to explore some incredible petroglyphs along the way. This is something my family member from the East Coast will not soon forget!
From teaching us basic horsemanship skills to putting us at ease to enjoy the stunning scenery, Dell's expertise and guidance were truly invaluable. Highly recommend Blue Sage Adventures for anyone looking for a memorable horseback riding experience in Southern Utah / Greater Zion! We can't wait to come back for another ride!

I can not say enough good things about this experience. We had the best time. This is not the nose to tail on pitiful horses experience. This is very private on beautiful well groomed and maintained horses. We felt like we were hanging out with family and friends. JR was super friendly and informative. We all were fairly experienced riders, however anyone could ride these horses because they are very well trained. We had a lovely ride up to the canyon and saw ancient indian markings. We called one place, ride was not available, needs to be scheduled at least one day prior to get horses ready. Then we called Zion’s Blue Sade Ranch, we were told that we can come right now. We’ve arrived, met amazing friendly people with beautiful gorgeous horses. They got our horses ready quickly, gave us crash course and JR took us over the mountains, beautiful views. It was amazing time, fabulous unforgettable experience. We’ve enjoyed so much! This place and people are amazing! I would recommend this place to everyone! We are so grateful for the time we spent with JR! Thank you guys!!! You are amazing!!!

We had a short ride with Blue Sage, just one hour but it was beautiful and fun! Our guide was an excellent horseman and patient with our 6 year old (that talked his head off!) Horses were obviously well cared for and respected. I wish we could've spent more time but super happy with our experience
I've been wanting to visit here for over 20 years, and it was great. Just make sure you come when tours are available on Sundays or during the week between memorial day and labor day. I have pioneer roots in this area with Burgesses and Emmetts. The nearby cemetery is also a good visit with a lot of hand-carved pioneer headstones. Just be respectful and close the gate behind you.

It is so beautiful. The church is great but the teachings from the book of mormon are amazing. Great place to be

Is a nice trip I've been to Historic Pine Valley we visited the old church which is 150 years old they said it was built by person that was an Old Ship Builder and he used his talents as a ship Builder to build this Chapel the design is of a boat that was built upside down you can see by the rafters in the ceiling the trusses was built as though the boat was built upside down to make the ceiling part of the boat of the chapel and it has stood for a hundred and fifty years and is held up very well.

Great history of the valley shared by our guides. Chapel still in use and we had a great tour. Went all the way up.

This is one of the longest used chapels in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is a branch that meets here on Sundays and is very welcoming. If you want a seat, you might need to go a little early because there are quite a few visitors.
We sat up in the choir seats and had a great experience! There were also great bathrooms.
There are also tours available if you want to learn more about the history and structure of the building.

Beautiful chapel designed by good ol' Ebenezer Bryce. If you're in town, it's worth swinging by to see this piece of history.

Lovely place to stop when you're up in Pine Valley. If you come at the right time they'll give you a tour. I think this is one of the oldest functioning LDS church buildings in Utah!

We went to this quaint branch as visitors and felt very accepted and loved. You could feel the love of each speaker for the congregation.
Red sandstone park offering boating in a reservoir & off-highway vehicle riding on Sand Mountain.
We really enjoyed this park. It is very tranquil and quiet. There wasn’t many people when we visited and finding a parking spot was not a problem. Beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere, and lots of wildlife. It was very nice to take a stroll through the red sand park, walking the dog. Proximity to the city is also a big advantage.

Great place to paddle board and kayak. There is a space sectioned off for non motorized crafts. And inside that space is a beautiful outcropping of huge red rocks that you can paddle around. If you want very smooth water, come early. The water is usually gorgeous in the early morning hours, But the wind often picks up by late morning or early afternoon and whips up the waves. Of course there are some people who really like that challenge. There are also places to motorboat and water ski and jet ski and lots of gorgeous coral colored sand dunes to drive dune buggies on. And a place inside the park where you can rent all of those items. Bring your camp chairs and shade tents if you want, or just sit in the sun on the stunning red rocks. There are a handful of picnic tables scattered around. But there's nothing wrong with just eating your lunch on your lap as you admire and soak in the beautiful surroundings. It's probably not the best place to snorkel, but lots of people learn how to scuba dive here.

It's probably my most favorite campground spot. Everything is so well spaced and well kept. Depending on what type of camping you would like to do, you literally have all options. I love the views. And it was perfect for our dog, who is very people friendly, but just doesn't prefer dogs too much. It was a paradise for us and for him ;) highly recommend.

So much to do at Sand Hollow. We love the incomparable off-roading. Challenging, exhilarating, and fun. The lake is awesome with bass being the number 1 fish. So close to many other fishing spots and some great trout. The camping is excellent with facilities ranging from primitive to full hookups. Sites are clean as are the showers and restrooms. The staff are very helpful and courteous.
Close to major markets and supplies. Driving distance to Zion, Cedar Breaks, and so many other places to visit.

One of our favorite places to Jeep Crawl. Tails match the map and are well mark. There are plenty of bypasses to harder obstacles. Weather is very pleasant most of the time. Be aware the sands change daily. What once was a small hill is now a cliff. We usually go with 8-10 Jeeps for help with spotters to pick the best lines to make it up safe and back down with little or no damage

Have brought the RV out here twice and both times were great experiences! Sand Hollow State Park has big RV spaces (we stayed in full hookup sites) and spots are spread out. Bathrooms in loop are extremely nice and super clean!! Showers available also. The kiddos loved exploring and the park has amazing views. It's relaxing and we totally recommend staying here. Looking forward to our next visit!

Good for family trips.if you do not have a boat you can find one before you go. There is a website not sure what it is called. but me and my family do this all the time.

Lakeview campsite is located right off of the lake making the view we had great! RV/trailer sites are staggered so there's space and privacy. No one is peering in because of the space provided. The shoreline of the lake is very clean, no debris, perfect for little ones. The restroom & shower facilities are very clean! Will definitely be visiting again in the future

I think I have reviewed this park prior but I can't remember. Sand Hollow State Park is a rather large campground that offers several different activities. They have from boat renting to kayak renting to ATV/UTV rentals, swimming, fishing and RV camping with hook ups and dry camping. There are the sand dunes that tons of people go out and ride on. You can come year round and camp as far as I know. You will want to research that out to clarify for sure. Overall, its a place of fun. In the summer they do have a swimmer itch that is overwhelming , it lives in the sand on a particular side. Beware of that .
Here are some picture of the jeep jamboree this year 1/2022 and some of the sand dunes!!!
Overall, its a great place to come and have fun. Enjoy

I really like that there's water to go to when the weather gets hot! There's a good beach area for the kiddos, and it's shallow enough until you get further out, so it feels safe. A few downsides are that it's REALLY crowded. We have a big family, and it's difficult to find a space to accommodate. It's also really frustrating when people ride their 4 wheelers down by the water with no respect or consideration to the fact that they're kicking sand up in everyone's food. There's plenty of other places to ride and do cookies than right by where kids are playing and eating. It's also hit or miss on whether it's going to be really windy! Still, we're there most weekends:)

The water is unbelievably clean and clear with the most picture worthy mountain backdrop. There are plenty of parking, picnic spots, and foot wash stations. Being able to rent boats and jet skis on site is a huge plus. July is hot, take plenty of drinking water, sunscreen and some type of portable shade. Will definitely be visiting again!

Beautiful scenery, clear and comfortable water. Litter is definitely an issue here, people don’t seem to take “leave no trace” to heart while recreating here. We took a paddle board and kayak out. Didn’t go too far from shore as there were a lot of jet skis and other motorized boats. I think I read on another review there is actually an area that is restricted from motor boats. Cool looking jungle gym in the water with trampolines and slides. Overall fun time!

The park was easy to find. It is located north of St. George Utah near Hurricane. There is pavement all the way including interior roads. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic and Mister Ranger patrols to make sure they are followed..
Our site, 16, was a pull thru that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is great even for a rural park. Each site has an aluminum table on a concrete patio under a sun shade. There was also a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was clean and tidy .
There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did find a few OTA channels. Satellite will not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean.
There are OHV trails from the park as well as OHV rentals, Boats, Personal Water Craft, Kayak and Canoe rentals on site.
There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores in Hurricane. We found this park to be a great place to relax and enjoy ourselves. Jeeping the sand was awesome We paid $46.60 per night including tax and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.

Awesome place to enjoy every activity. We are from Northern Utah, so the fact that we are able to spend a whole day on the water is a blast. We were able to enjoy cliff jumping (which was so great because of the huge amount of water this last year), we also got a 9 square and bunch of paddle boards and AN INFLATABLE TRAMPOLINE from a rental store (Called Mort’s Rentals) in Utah Valley!!! Such a blast!!

We had a great time camping this past weekend at the Lakeview Campground. The facilities were clean and well kept.
Our spot had partial hookups with water and electrical, and was spacious, not too close to other sites, flat and close to the lake.
We also had a blast cruising the nearby trails in the side by side. It was an quick ride from the campsite to everywhere we wanted to go. We’re planning on making this an annual thing!

The only way I can describe it is you have to see for yourself but a little advice don't go a windy day my Jeep has red sand all in it but it is a Beautiful place
First time doing an ATV tour decided to do this with the group I was with when we traveled to Utah. We did the full day tour which was 5 hours with lunch provided plus all the gear. Even with a group of seven the tour was on the pricier end but overall we enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide gave us helpful information about the plants, desert, and names of the rocks. Riding on the sand dunes was by far my favorite part.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! The UTVs are extremely fun to drive/ride in, the views were incredible and our guide Paul was awesome. We enjoyed every moment of it, the dunes, the sunset, the cliffs, and the best part of it, going to and from destinations and getting to ride the trails! Paul is a great teacher, guide and PHOTOGRAPHER. Some of the photos we got looked like we had paid someone hundreds or thousand for them alone. We scheduled our ride the day before and the office called us, gave us directions, everything was super easy to set up and it was an all around awesome and safe experience. Thank you!

We scheduled a guided tour through ATV & Jeep Adventure Tours for 2 - 4 wheelers for the sunset adventure which was 4 hours. We were extremely pleased by the guides and tour. We had a ton of fun and were overall very happy with our experience. We were not super pleased by the hidden fees for cancellation and didn’t actually see them until we had already paid and booked which is frustrating because we had no intention of canceling and canceling was never a thought and ended up costing us quite a bit of money. Other than that I would recommend to my friends and family but would make sure they found the place to avoid those extra fees.

The guides lead you to some of those most breath taking views. I felt super comfortable on my machine, with minor experience riding, getting to experience all kinds of variables to ride through. This tour has a good mix of faster and slower moments. The tour guides knew the area well, and told us the history of the area. 10/10 would recommend, was the highlight of our trip for sure! Shout out to Dave and Tyson our tour guides.

Outstanding trip! We had 3 generations of family with a wide range of ages. We chose to mix ATVs and side-by-sides. The skill levels in our group ranged from riding / driving once to owning our own and riding regularly. Our guide, Danion, made sure everyone was comfortable at all times and tailored the tour to the group's abilities as confidence improved. The views and terrain are amazing and engaging enough to even make being a passenger enjoyable. We went on a weekday and it felt like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Our equipment was very good and mechanically sound (something you can't take for granted with off-road rentals). Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful, courteous and professional. Thank you!

We had the best time! We also did zip lining and cayoneering and 3 of 5 people said this tour was the most fun. There was a perfect mix of time in the UTV, time to learn about what we were seeing and time to climb on cool rock formations. We even got to see the sunset at the lake which was beautiful. Our guides were fun and knowledgeable. I was nervous about driving, but they gave instructions at the beginning and had a guide in the front and a guide in the back so you know you were good the whole time. I definitely recommend this tour.

If you’re heading through Hurricane, Utah you need to add this to your must-do list. Words can’t describe how awesome this tour is. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Book it and don't think twice. This was one of the most incredible family experiences we have had! We didn't want the tour to end. This tour is what life is all about, adventure and amazing views.
Our tour guide Rhett made this experience unforgettable! He is a gem of a person!
The best way to describe this experience is when my 7 year old daughter asked me an hour into the tour, "Daddy, how long does this last, because I could do this the rest of my life!"
Thank you ATV Tours and Rhett for this incredible memory for our family!

Wow. Top notch people. Top notch machines. Top notch state park with amazing dunes and views. Dave was funny, fast and knowledgeable. It was my wife and 3 kids in the 6 seater. We did the four hour sunset tour. So much fun. Worth every penny. The only negative reviews are from people who don’t show up or show up on time. These guys are true pros and I did a ton of research. I flew from the Midwest to here for this experience along with a few other activities in the surrounding area and let me tell you.. This is a one in a lifetime kind of experience/opportunity!! My tour guide was Dave and by the time our tour was over I left calling him papa Dave. Dave has years and years of experience so he is very knowledgeable of the machines and the routes we took. He is also just such a laid back guy and he let me have the time of my life safely doing so. He provided us all the appropriate gear, snacks, water, took pictures, and did little educational sessions during each break. His hospitality is truly unmatched, with that being said I will be returning to see him again in September. I also really enjoy the company itself. They take care of their machines, rotate them out every week for maintenance, etc. I’m just overall pleased and every single dollar that I spent was spent well! If you’re able, request Dave! Thank you ATV and Jeep adventures! I will be a returning rider!

This place is AWESOME. There aren’t any words to describe how much fun this trip is. I wanted to just go full throttle and go fast. Our tour guide talked to us(me) at the beginning and I was glad he did. There is absolutely no reason to rush. You won’t be able to take it all in at a snails pace. There are times and places to go crazy and have fun and Bob made sure we had those times. I’m sure all the guides are great but riding with Bob felt like riding with a friend I just hadn’t seen in forever. I was with my wife and it just felt like we were a group of friends. This is definitely a once in a lifetime thing. Take some pics but keep in mind, pictures don’t convey the beauty. Put the camera down and just enjoy the ride, the beauty and the company.

Pioneer Park is a magnificent 52-acre recreational area that showcases Dixie Rock and offers stunning views of the city. This park boasts hiking trails, BBQ facilities, and a covered pavilion for gatherings. It provides ample parking space and is ideal for families with small children to enjoy a great time together. The rocks exhibit incredible shapes and colors, making it an excellent spot for photo sessions. There's even a cave-like area that adds more beauty to the park.
We came in here Monday around1-2pm and there wasn't a lot of people which was great, it was so easy to find parking. First when you look at this park from the road, it seems nice but when you see the inside, it's a lot awesome and cooler. Great hike for the family even with little kids. We had fun taking pictures with the cool rocks, their colors and shapes are just amazing. There was even a cave-like area which was super cool and beautiful. And to top it all of, bathrooms were clean. There were soap and water and toilet paper, although no paper towel or hand dryer which wasn't a big deal. We came from Vegas and this was 2 hrs drive from us but it was totally worth it. ❤❤

This is a FANTASTIC way to get the family to check out some natural features, that is two minutes away from town. I’d always wanted to do some hike in st George, but unsure what would be best for the whole family. This place has as much, or as little as you want. Parking lot right in front of many things to do. What a blast! If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. We had such a fun time climbing around on rocks and exploring. It’s awesome to have a bit of National Park feel right in St. George proper. Easily accessible & hours of fun. We had to keep a close eye on our littles so they didn’t jump off ledges! There were lots of goat heads, so wear good shoes. We also found a tarantula.

Pioneer Park in St. George, Utah, is an exceptional natural haven that I recently had the opportunity to explore. This park is truly a unique gem, offering breathtaking views of red rock formations that are emblematic of the area’s natural beauty. The standout feature for me was the iconic arch, a natural sculpture that serves as a testament to the timeless artistry of nature.
The park’s landscape is a vibrant tapestry of red hues, where each rock formation tells a story of geological history and resilience. The trails winding through the park are well-maintained, allowing for easy exploration of the scenic vistas and hidden nooks that make this place so special.
What sets Pioneer Park apart is the profound sense of tranquility it offers. Amidst the grandeur of the red rocks, I found a peaceful retreat, a place where the hustle and bustle of everyday life seem to fade into the background. It’s a place where you can truly connect with nature, taking in the silence and serenity that envelops the park.
The park’s natural beauty is complemented by its accessibility, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re seeking a quiet spot to reflect and rejuvenate or an adventurous trail to explore, Pioneer Park caters to all.
In summary, my visit to Pioneer Park was nothing short of amazing. The combination of unique geological features, the iconic arch, and the overarching sense of peace make it a standout destination in St. George. It’s a place where the wonders of nature are on full display, offering a slice of tranquility and a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us.

We had a blast checking out the park. Views from the top are great. Hike for people without health issues is easy. However I have a lot of health issues so I had to go really slow and was pretty out of breath by the time I made it to the top. The gardens before the park are awesome. Great place to take the family. Awesome place to get some good photos. Will definitely be back. Pet friendly. Be sure to pick up after your pet so others can enjoy the park ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had such a wonderful time hiking, taking pictures, and being an absolute tourist. There is a decent amount of parking in multiple locations. There are public restrooms, bbqs, semi trail/semi groomed areas to hike. Great views of St. George, from an area of great views. A must on a day like I was there. A summer day that was mostly overcast so the heat wasn't unbearable. Great place to bring kids old enough to understand the dangers present in climbing on rocky terrains. I think many people would enjoy this area.

Very nice free park, with a great desert garden, including small waterfall, stream with fish and a deeper pool with fish, which you can view from the side.
Plenty of parking and most of the garden is wheelchair accessible.
Since water fountains, but not tasty.
Drive further on to other parking and you have take e starting there. You can try to climb up through the crack if you're young or skinny, else it's too tight.
After a hot trail, go over to IceBerg (couple of minutes by car) to cool down with a great milkshake...

The St. George Utah Temple is a majestic Mormon temple constructed in 1877, featuring remarkable craftsmanship and impressive historical significance. Currently undergoing renovation, the temple will reopen to the public in November 2022, while its visitor center already welcomes visitors with fascinating exhibits. Despite being under construction, the temple's beauty still shines through when contrasted against the red rock of St. George.
Still under construction but still an exciting place to come to. So much history and so impressive to see the craftsmanship of old still standing strong. Obviously needed some updating but all in all a house built upon a firm foundation stands the test of time. I am so looking forward to entering it when it reopens in November 2022. The Visitor Center however is open as of April 1st and that is not an April fools joke. It truly is open and has some wonderful exhibits for everyone. I will definitely be back and look forward to it.

The Temple and grounds are absolutely stunning. The bright white against the red desert backdrop is breath-taking. The feeling there is so peaceful, and everyone is so happy and kind. I can't wait for the openhouse when it is finished. I would love to see what it's like inside.

We missed our chance to visit the newly renovated St George Utah Temple during its open house. So the hubby and I went and did some temple work the first week it re-opened. It was a beautiful place and we had such a fulfilling experience within its peaceful walls last month. It was a privilege to renew our covenants at such a historic temple.

Sadly under renovation but still one of the most beautiful LDS temples in existence. The contrast of the white temple against the red rock of St. George is lovely.

Visited here as a non LDS member, the Visitor center is pretty cool. All of the sisters I spoke to were really sweet!

Beautiful. If you can just walk around the outside, the atmosphere alone is worth it. If you can, go inside. If you can't go inside, talk to someone about how to do that. The inside is hard to describe. It's an experience everyone needs to have.

Although the temple was closed, the visitor center was open, and we stopped in. The temple is beautiful and the grounds are so clean. Even though we couldn't go into the temple, we appreciated the view!

Beautiful building, during the open house we got to see the inside and it was gorgeous. I can’t believe this was during a time before heavy equipment.

Such a beautiful and welcoming place. I came here as I travel from Southern California and was amazed at the stunning and bright whiteness of the temple. The grounds were meticulously maintained and then environment very peaceful.

Beautiful place to visit. This is my favorite place to find peace and solace in this crazy world. We walked through the visitor center and are looking forward to the temple reopening so we can go regularly. The temple will be dedicated on December 10, 2023 and open for temple work shortly after.

The temple is closed for now till March or May. I went to visitor Center for more information. So I was guided through introduction of Latter Day Saints or Mormon religion and temple's history, I learned quite a bit from short introductions .
The foundation of the temple was laid by lava stones pounded by a huge canon, so it has or would resist earthquakes after 140 years, the white color was chosen by their script for purity, when they enter the temple they will change to white robes or clothes. LDS believes separation of body and spirit, death is a temporary separation of the spirit from the body.

We were here for the Open House after the recent renovations. Everyone was very helpful and kind, and the temple itself is beautiful, with amazing attention to historical details. The Open House is continuing through November 11, 2023. After that, the temple will be dedicated and the public can still visit the Visitors Center on the grounds.

We were lucky to see this place for the open days (I think they last until the mid of November 2023), it is amazing, very beautifully renovated and huge! As non believers we've never seen a temple before, it was impressive! We were just visiting as tourists, but the people there were all very friendly and welcoming. We could join the tour, at the beginning you see a short film. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take pictures inside. If you get the chance visit it before it's not possible for the public anymore. It's a unique chance for people of a different religion!

We were fortunate enough to be in the area during the last week of the open house. What an amazing and beautiful building. They did such a good job with the restoration. I look forward to going back again not that it’s been dedicated.
Nonprofit featuring plays & concerts in an amphitheater with canyon views & smaller indoor theaters.
This place is magic! The natural scenery and atmosphere are unmatched. You feel as if you found an oasis due to the sound and beauty. Speaking of sound, the quality of the sound was amazing. No reverb, no echo just crisp clear instruments and voices. I realize the sound guy has much to do with this, I am acknowledging that surrounded by all rock, real and fake, could have had negative impact. It did not. I wasn't even a true fan of the band, just a fan of music. This venue did not disappoint. There were plenty of convenient concessions. The seating ensures all a great view of the performance. And I truly can't say enough about the majesty of the natural surroundings. Even to look up and see stars so clearly added to the treat. Pictures don't do it justice.

We watched Joseph - what an amazing show. The ticket prices are reasonable, as well the concession treats. The atmosphere with the red rock canyon behind it, is magical, especially in the summer. The parking is free and easy to access. Restrooms spacious and clean. The shop has great souvenirs.
It was a truly enjoyable experience for kids and everyone!!!

I watched Tuacahn’s Charlie and the Chocolate factory here. They did the best job I have ever seen in a cast! This theater is just like any other theater would be, but its outdoors so you an watch an amazing performance while surrounded by a red rock canyon. There is a cool water river that runs down the long staircase, and one you go up the main staircase you enter a cool lobby. Restrooms are on the right, and to the front and left you will see some concessions that actually have a very good price. Tickets can be quite expensive, but if you are in St. George, this deserves to be on your agenda.

The setting for this center is absolutely stunning. It is set among the red mountains and beneath the night sky.
Be prepared though...the seats are uncomfortable. Bring a cushion to sit on or purchase one for $3 there. You are able to bring into the amphitheater blankets, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. There are plenty of places set up to sell snacks and I found most of them affordable.
The gift shop is fun to wander around. Prices aren't great but lots of unique item. Show t-shirts are around $30.
I also love that parking is free. I can't wait to return next time we are in town.

This is our 1st time visiting the Tuacahn Amphitheatre. We saw the Broadway production Beauty and the Beast. The Amphitheatre is breath taking to say the least. Outdoors under the stars with an incredible red cliff back drop. The play was spectacular in every sense. Fantastic performance and thoroughly entertained!! Would definitely return and do this again!! Great show and atmosphere!

Our family saw Mary Poppins and it was one of the best shows we have ever seen. The costumes, talent, props and the outdoor scenic views were breathtaking. We paid a little more to be closer and there was water and cushioned seat covers which was fantastic. There’s a 15 min intermission with plenty of concessions. You can bring your own food and drinks if you’d like. I highly recommend for families or a date night. The surrounding mountains are stunning! This place will not disappoint!

I don't like plays in general, but Tuacahn is a beautiful place to go to one. The red rocked amphitheater is fantastic back drop, so if you like theater, I highly recommend Tuacahn

We love attending performances at Tuacahn. The performances are always unique and incredible! We drove 4 hours to see a performance of Tarzan and it did not disappointment. Performers were coming down aisles, hanging on "vines" coming down from the sky, and zip-lining down to the stage. The actors and actresses voices were amazing and comparable to any you would hear on Broadway. Also, the ambiance and beauty of the outdoor ampitheater made for a perfect evening.

I went on Sunday when there were absolutely no one but it's still worth it to just see how it looks and it looks like something out of a sci Fi movie!!! For a second there I was convinced I wasn't in earth and I was on a Disney movie in Mars or something. It is built with such perfection to the mountains. You will be wondering if this is really just got built in 2023. Looks like something from the future.

Loved our experience here. We came as a family to watch Mary Poppins and all our kids really enjoyed it. We are not a “musical” type family and our kids range from 15 to 5 but they all loved it. It does end really late so be aware of that.

Beautiful outdoor theater and a show I'll never forget! Red Rocks backdrop was unrealistic. It provided a magnificent ambience and added depth to the show as well. Performers were great too. Saw <The Count of Monte Cristo> and was impressed throughout the show on how the team composed the stage. Definitely recommend and would come back myself.

Charlie and the chocolate factory 2023 was my first tuacahn play/show ever.
The magic that was there in the show captivated me.
I've also been lucky enough to see Tarzan which 10/10.
This is going to be a yearly tradition. That's how much I loved it.
Brittni Cook — Google review
Tuacahn has lost its magnificence! My family has had season tickets for over 15 years and it feels like the last few years the sets have completely changed and lost their magic. The sets used to have the back drop of the canyon and the gorgeous mountainside, this is what set tuacahn apart from other theaters! Unfortunately now they are so reliant on electronic screens and the whole back of the stage was completely closed off for their entire show( except for a very brief portion of Tarzan). I have seen Tarzan and Hunchback of Notre Dame previously and prefer the previous sets as they allowed the landscape and incredible canyon to be a part of the play. If I wanted to see everything digital, I wouldn’t drive for 4+ hours to see these musicals. The electronic screens are also very distracting and make it extremely difficult see all the craftsmanship and hard work that goes into some of the set pieces. Unfortunately because of this, our family will not be returning next year. I know that they got a new set designer and they are used to doing indoor theaters, but there is a reason people come from all over to be at tuacahn- for the breath taking canyon views and unbeatable experience. Don’t get me wrong, the actors, stage crew and staff are all wonderful and always have been, but I don’t feel like it is worth the money any more because of the lack of creativity of designs of the sets over the past two years. The screens are 100% not necessary and ruined the show. Hopefully the magic can return in the future. Attached are some pictures from this year compared to plays from previous years with an open backdrop. Also side note… the river out front is disgusting. It used to be clear water than ran and was a beautiful feature but now it’s a filthy brown green color and looks like someone dumped their sewer water in it.

Coyote Gulch Art Village is a delightful art-focused complex that features an array of local creations, including paintings and pottery. The village boasts numerous art galleries to explore, along with a restaurant offering outstanding food and service. Visitors can also enjoy the charming cafe for relaxation and dining. The location is scenic, with friendly artists and staff adding to the overall experience. While some pieces may be on the high end, there are certainly options available for those on a budget.
Such a cute little place. We went there for brunch. We didn't mind a 40 minute wait at the restaurant because it gave us time to explore all the beautiful art galleries and just walk around the beautiful art village. Great experience. I'd highly recommend visiting it at least once, even if it's out of your way. You will love the experience. The service and food was outstanding at the restaurant.

There was an art show with artists from far away and local people. I loved the pieces and wanted to buy more than I could afford. The food vendors were great
I’m my opinion, this is the best campground we stayed at in the area. The views are spectacular. There is a hike down to a nice sandy beach and you can swim in the river. Vary relaxing and very cheap. Bathrooms were clean and people were friendly and kept to themselves. Mostly rvs so there is a lot of generators.

We had a very nice spot, except. The previous camper left the fire pit full of half smoked cigarettes with plastic tips. Which stopped us from having a little camp fire😓

I’m not sure when this park is ever busy. It’s such a beautiful location and not far from St. George Utah for any essentials if needed. When we were there we only saw one other vehicle in the entire park meaning we basically had the entire place to ourselves. It’s so secluded, yet right off the interstate.
We could hear a little of the traffic noise, but that really didn’t bother us at all. The scenery here is amazing and the river is beautiful as it flows through this gorge.
Many sites do require a reservation, but plenty are first come first serve.
Well worth the stop for a few days.

Excellent cheap campground ($8 in 2018), right off the freeway but far enough away for some quiet. Sites are clean and maintained. Same for the restroom. Very scenic, but not much solitude.
Sites for big rigs or car campers. Some have shade awnings too. Sites were a bit tight together, but with so few campers it wasn't an issue for me.
Perfect for an overnight, but with not much to do in the area and not many amenities, not really a destination.
With few options for camping - low-cost or otherwise - this is a real oasis for this stretch of interstate.
The Virgin River Gorge is also super cool to drive through, make sure you do it while there's daylight.

Bring earplugs for I15 road noise. My son and I love this location for a quick and affordable camping trip. For tents our favorite sites are 99, 33, and 13. Our dogs love the river.

Great spot to stop on your way to Vegas or California! This is particularly good camping for those who are in trailers or set up for some kind of car camping. Only a few spots were tent friendly.
Bathrooms were pretty clean!
Directions for those who need it: grab a yellow envelope at the beginning of the loop, then drive around and find the number of the spot where you’re gonna park. Fill out the envelope with your info and hang the receipt in your window. Take the envelope with your payment back to the cash box at the beginning of the loop. (If you don’t have cash, there is an electronic pay option. So don’t let that stop you from staying!)
Happy camping!

Need to pay $8/ night or $2 for day use. Great weather and cool temperatures during the day. Beautiful wild flowers, many lizards, and some birds. I went on the Sullivan's trail, but I had to turn back because you need to cross the river, and it was running very high. I also walked on the campground connector trail and it did not lead me to the other campground because it is v poorly marked and/or doesn't lead there.
Granite Ogborn — Google review
If you have an opportunity, you need to spend a night or two here. The area, just off the interstate, is absolutely beautiful. Sites were $8 (no electricity, dump, water) and unfortunately, the best sites were the ones reservable ahead of time. We stayed there, in our 35’ 5th wheel, on January 1 & 2, and had no issues getting a spot. The largest sites are on the lower loop, but those are supposed to be for day use and single night use. We stayed in site 33 on the upper loop and barely fit. Neat little campground to campground trail, as well as a trail down to the river.

Pretty nice place. It's a little close to the freeway. Make sure to hike down to the river. It does have restrooms and fire pits. However check for fire restrictions, they are standared in the summer time.

A little secret spot, had picnic tables and fire pits. Clean bathrooms! You pay with a little envelope in the box. $2 for the whole day so worth it to keep this place clean. A short steep walk to the river. Shallow, perfect for dipping feet.
Please dispose of bottles so there's no glass on the beachy sand. Clean area!

I cant get close to it because I'm a truck driver; tractor trailers not allowed in the park or parking lot. However, from the highway and ramps, looks work stopping every time. I always stop on the ramp to get pictures, because it's so beautiful. You should get out and see it if you're passing by.

Nice quiet campground. Highway is still audible in a tent but is more like a quiet noise machine. Weather was perfect in May for camping. Campground is a little overgrown at the moment with all the moisture but you can’t beat the views.

Beautiful area for camping and picnics. Nature at its best! We just stopped to stretch and check it out and grab some pictures!
Jenn Skotnicki — Google review
Campground is decent, the sites are spread far apart so you’re not on top of each other. The bathrooms are clean and heated with real toilets and sinks but no showers. The wind was absolutely insane and broke our canopy. Tent camping is NOT advised. If you have a fifth wheel or rv that has all you need inside I would say it’s a nice place to camp but if you’re tent camping, it will blow away.

For only $8 a night, this was a great campground in between St. George and Mesquite. There is no running water at the campsite, but there are bathrooms at both the upper and lower campground areas.
Sarah Stout — Google review
Great campground, flush toilets, a lot of sites spaced out. In the upper loop, traffic noise was minimal and did not bother us. However, as a note to the BLM, Verizon cell service was not good enough to pay for the first come first serve site. Another person there also experienced the same problem. Why can't you just do paper registration with credit card option like the park service does?
Correction 3/22/24: I revisited this campground and had the unfortunate use of a site that was closer to the freeway where the noise was much more of an issue. If you can get the very outer loop, that seems to be an acceptable amount of traffic noise. Otherwise, there is dispersed camping in the area far away from the freeway.

We checked in on 3/18 for one night besides everything being booked up this was our only option so we booked the room at $288 but with taxes it was $344 huge jump in price not happy about that wasn’t aware of the taxes or fees the guy who booked our room didn’t tell us anything about the fees when we checked in they didn’t tell us anything about the fees only that there is a $20 refundable charge which still makes our room at $324 still $60 something difference then what we were told and the beds are the worst I didn’t get any sleep the Virgin Rivers beds are so much better and only at $60 a night but they were booked up so we couldn’t stay there. I will never stay at the Eureka again I love the casino and food but the rooms are horrible the front desk staff didn’t even say anything to me in the morning when I went to get coffee it took the housekeepers to say good morning to a guest kudos to the housekeepers as for the front desk they need a bit of work I use to work in the hotel industry and the front desk people should be more friendlier and willing to help they are the face of the hotel so they should be more pleasant and not so stuck up. I hope the management team calls me.

The room was nice, but they have smoking and non-smoking in the same hallway. When the smoking rooms open their door it fills the hall with smoke and it seeps into the non-smoking rooms. The pool also looked dirty, it was a greenish color instead of a nice clear blue most pools are.

Casino overall is exceptional! Good games and better odds than other casinos. I’ve been coming here for years and have typically enjoyed most experiences. However an employee working table games has been considerably rude/condescending to myself in particular in the last year or so; (many occasions) for no real reason. I would give the casino 5 stars but due to partially poor employee selection I have to give a 3! I’ve never had any issues with any employees whatsoever at this facility other than one specifically, all others great in fact! Unfortunate to see an ungrateful employee amongst a terrific staff otherwise.

I am DEPRESSED! Uncle Eddie from Christmas vacation would love this place. It’s got the vibe of the recreational vehicle Eddie drove up to Clark’s house. Everything was odd shades of tan, the furniture is beat to heck and the rooms just don’t feel inviting. Grandma smoked like 4 packs of smokes today while playing wild Buffalo March slot machines. Don’t worry, she quit smoking a couple years ago, now she just smokes when she gambles and rides the Amtrak train. She smells like an ash tray and keeps snoring in the bed next to me. . Anyway, this hotel is a two star. It’s not nice but not gross. I survived but would rather pay a little more for a better room. Two stars, four packs, one review.

Horrible customer service. Went in to play on the bar top machines. Bartender only served me one drink the whole time I was there. Was serving everyone but ignored me the whole time. Finally asked if the drinks where free or they charged even if I was playing the bar top machines. All he would tell me was that he covered my drink this time. I told him I wasn't looking for a hand out. I went in there to enjoy my time and lose my money honestly but after that I just walked out. The room seemed well soundproofed as I heard nothing from neighbors. Not even the shower, toilet flush or closing doors.
K-cup coffee maker and bathroom soaps were nice! The TV was small, reception not great for OTA, but good for cable channels.
Front desk staff was awesome and very accommodating!

I am very unhappy about my recent, demotion from platinum to my gold card rewards. I feel that your expectations and goals are too high. I have in the past been a loyal and faithful fan. This will diminish in the future, since I am reduced to a lower bonus reward. I have spent thousands of dollars in the past years at Eureka. I am very disappointed in how you’ve treated me. I know you have standards, but I feel once you give a designation that it should stay unless there’s been a significant reduction in play. I don’t feel there’s been a justification of that much reduction to make the changes.

Now the Cafe I love the apple pie in a cup, the steak and lobster or shrimp, the cook did my steak (black and blue) perfect. I've also tried all there burgers and the only burger that's really worth the price is The smash burger. 2 patties ,the fixing on a potato bun is a 10 out 10. I get it regularly. I wish that they did 2 patties on all burgers. with only one the lack fulfillment so the price isn't worth a dissatisfied tummy. There Annie's in the day hours and that a given... Yum yum yum. preztal dogs..worth the wait time. it cook fresh when order..

Wanted to say “Thank you!” Every time I have visited over the past year and a half to dine and gamble has been exceptional. The food has been satisfying and well prepared. The gaming table employee/owners are amazing!! They are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, interactive and have the great ability to make all feel welcome and valued (even the rare customer who maybe doesn’t deserve it due to their attitude)..Especially want to give a big “shout out” to Lucy, Claudia and Patty-you are wonderful and awesome!

Very nice lobby and pool area. Rooms are just ok. VERY dark lighting and no upgrades in the bathroom. Shower water pressure was really low and never got hot. I might stay again but not sure. Got room for $90 before tax last minute and stayed just one night.

I stopped in for breakfast on my way from Utah to California. You can order from the menu or avail yourself of the breakfast buffet. The buffet is nothing fancy, just your basic breakfast offerings: scrambled eggs, eggs with cheese and peppers, hash browns, bacon sausage, cheese blintzes, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, pancakes and waffles, oatmeal and an assortment of muffins and pastries and fruit. It was all delicious and fit my needs. And it was only $8.99, drinks included! My waitress was very attentive and sweet. I would go there again when in the area. The casino floor was nice, but I did not have time to stay and play so I can't rate it.

Security walked around and told multiple people they couldn’t video tape themselves or any of the slot machines. Security was unable to recite a policy or explain any reason. They just stated they would appreciate it if customers didn’t record anything. The pit boss stated it was ok to film pretty much anywhere except live games which is understandable. But slot machines? Every other place lets you film whatever. Get with the times eureka. My business will be spent elsewhere.

Also temoc who I see fill in while Sebastian is helping others is always on top of his game delivering some of the best customer service

Truck parking across the street for a small price. If you like a good burger, check out their smash burger, amazing, I added a bit of A1 sauce on it . Service was quick and friendly. I never really win much but I can sit at a machine for a while, gets me out of the truck.

Nestled within a lively casino complex, Virgin River Hotel and Casino offers basic yet clean rooms away from the gaming action for a peaceful stay. The upbeat atmosphere of the casino provides various gaming options and live entertainment, while dining choices cater to different tastes. Guests can also enjoy amenities like pools, a bowling alley, and an arcade. Despite its affordable rates, the hotel pleasantly surprises visitors with its cleanliness and comfort.
Stayed here on 2 different occasions enjoyed my stay. We requested a certain room to accommodate our dog. We were happy it wasn't the Marriott but for the price you can't go wrong. Room was clean, sheets & bed had no weird stains, staff was helpful. We enjoyed our stay & our smoking room.

Stayed 2 nights, 25-27 September 2022 (Sun-Tues), everything was excellent! The room was spacious, the A/C was effective, bathroom was very clean and fully functional, and plenty of parking, in fact I parked right in front of my room. The pool and hot tub were very good, only minor problem was no pool towels so you had to bring a room towel, but plenty of deck lounges, some in shade, some in the sun. I ate at both the buffet and the cafe and the food was great, delicious prime rib at the buffet (plus many other items), and the cafe was top notch. I ordered the full rack of ribs and could eat less than half, my take-out container must've been at least 3 pounds. And at $19 (includes soup or salad, potato, veggies, and 2 rolls), it was an incredible bargain. Best of all the room was only $27/night with NO resort fee, about 1/4 of what you'd pay in Vegas. I was very pleasantly surprised, plan on returning soon for at least 3 nights.

This is the best value for your stay Sunday through Thursday. The food in the cafe was good with fast friendly service and affordable prices. There was a bowling alley, casino, bingo, 2 golf courses and more.
Beautiful setting, nice pool and large parking lot. It was really q quiet at night and sleeping was a breeze. We'll be back

Loved bingo! Very affordable and great A/C! Definitely will be back and are excited to hit more slots, and try out bowling! We also loved the hotdog cart! Restaurants were alright but for being a cheaper place to visit, the quality matches. The staff was excellent throughout the whole place! Our room A/C was broken and it was the hottest day on record during our trip. They were extremely prompt in not just repairing but replacing the A/C! Worked out great!

I will 100% be back to stay at Virgin River Hotel and Casino! I was honestly a bit leery about staying here. We just needed to get away from life for a quick minute and scheduled an impromptu getaway for the night. We stayed on a weekend and it was $68/night. There was no resort fee. The incidental hold was $20. I was expecting like a motel 6 type of experience and I was completely shocked at how nice our room was for the price. The rooms are simple, but very clean. The AC was fantastic! Wifi was included and we were able to stream video without any lag. The beds were super comfortable, no back pain at all. I was most impressed with how immaculate the bathroom was. It was sparkling clean. Kudos to your housekeeping staff! We did not partake in the pool, but it was a large outdoor pool with a hot tub and looked great! There is not a fridge or microwave, but the savings on hotel made up for it 100%. During the week the rates drop to $27/night - we will definitely come back during the week some time, what a deal!
I did read some of the negative reviews on here and to be honest we did not have any of those issues staying here at all. The front desk staff were so kind that I feel confident that if there was a problem with our room they would have moved us without any issue.
We also had a great time at the casino. We played penny slots with $400 for over 5 hours and left with all of our money! It was such an enjoyable night. It really got our minds off of work and the everyday stress. The casino has a few restaurants, $.75 hot dogs, complementary drinks while playing, Starbucks, a bowling alley, and a great arcade!
I highly recommend going there and trying it out. I think you will be just as pleasantly surprised as I was.
Thank you Virgin River Hotel and Casino for a great experience! We will definitely be back!

The check-in management got all of our rooms together, then 1 person in the party got on the elevator and it opened up to the outside 3rd floor... being terrified of heights, she refused to get off the elevator... back to the front desk we went and he graciously found a 1st floor room....
If I am/were to go again, I would bring my own pillows... the pillows are extremely thin. Very basic rooms, but with a price to match.

Love that they are truly dog friendly. Wish more people would pick up their dog waste around the dog walking area.
The rooms are a little dated but still clean and comfy. One whole building is dedicated to people and their dogs which is great.
Not super sound proof. The people above us were very noisy all night long and I mean well past 3 in the morning. I swear they were rearranging the furniture.
The breakfast buffet in the casino is good with lots of options.

We enjoyed the Buffet, kinda played a little in the Casino won $72, kids played in the arcade and won 1300 tickets between three kids. Now the rooms, our tables were filthy with smeared I’m guessing frosting/syrup/jam 🤔. Towels were thin, beds comfy BUT pillows sucked..super flat. At $27 a night you can’t really expect luxury but maybe a little updating is in order. All the employees were nice and friendly.

We like to go there for dinner. The quality, variety and price are good. It is a unique place to find good food. It isn't fancy food, but it is delicious.
Our server was so cute. She was nice, friendly, honest and attentive.
We all had the prime dinner, but we added the ribs that were delicious. It was a great meal for a very reasonable price. The front part you smell the smoke, but it is quiet and smoke free in the back. There were many families and small children when we went.

You get what you pay for here. The check in process was very smooth, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. The bathroom looked like it went out of date about 20 years ago and the amenities are only the bare minimum (no microwave). If you're just spending one night on your road trip to somewhere else this place is great. After having to stand in the smoke filled casino to check in I was grateful to not smell even a trace of smoke in our bedrooms.

Love this casino. Definitely my favorite casino in Nevada. We stop in there every year on our way to Utah and it never disappoints. The games are great and the food is fantastic. You’re still able to get that old style low cost casino food. Very few casinos still offer the cheap food anymore and this place has it and it’s delicious every time. They even have a hot dog stand inside with hotdogs for like 75 cents. There’s a giant arcade to keep the kids busy while the adults play. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the cheapest around. Especially during the week. Heading that way in a week and I already booked my room. Can’t wait!!

The rooms are reasonably priced especially for Retirees, they put out a great restaurant meal at a great price.
The rooms should have coffee in them, coffee cost $1.50 at the bar next to the check out.
I will stop there again on my way to San Diego and Los Angeles.

These crooks will lie to you just to get you to reserve a room and then chase you away if you park your oversized vehicle in the oversized vehicle lot. Let me explain. So I was looking for a place to take my 34 hour break. I wanted a hotel with a pool, and self serve laundry and decent restaurant within walking distance. According to the Internet, this place checked all the right boxes. So I called the reservation hotline, and asked if I would be able to park my truck. I was told to park behind buildings 5, 6, or 7. So I found a spot behind building 7 , parked and then checked in. Gave the front desk clerk all of the information for my truck, and went to sleep. Next day I came out, ate and then went to go get my laundry out the truck and found four notes all over my truck saying that I can't park here and need to remove my truck from their property. So I did, and now I'm out the money for my reservation plus I didn't even get the hours back to take my 34 hour restart. So ask yourself, if they're willing to lie in order to get a room reservation, do you really trust them to deal a fair game of blackjack? If they're willing to lie for a $100 reservation, what makes you think they're not going to break out some loaded dice when there's a grand on the pass line?

This is a $54 a night hotel, not at all fancy. The towels, although seemed clean were very stained. I tried not to think what the stains could be and just dried off quickly. No coffee maker, no mini fridge, no extra amenities. I bring my own coffee maker on the road so no problem. The problem was not having disposable coffee cups in the room. I doubled up the plastic drinking cups and it worked okay. I was satisfied with the beds, a dead bolted door and a warm shower. It was fine. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

For the price this casino can't be beat! Check in was fast and friendly. The casino had an upbeat and exciting atmosphere, with activities for everyone in the family. Rooms are removed from casino to offer more quiet stays.
Based on the current reviews I expected a "dirtier" room, but was very happily surprised that my room was VERY clean, dated but CLEAN! And was nicely cleaned daily during my stay with bed makeups and fresh towels.
The pools are nice and warm. I really had a nice stay. Only cons were the room was dated, but clean. There was no refrigerator. But the food on site is well priced. Also has a minor leak in the AC unit, maintenance came quickly and repaired it.

For the location it’s a great place to go. Sister property of casa Blanca, even better then in my opinion. Tons of slots. Rooms are simple and far from new but for $30 total with a$20 deposit it’s worth every penny. Pet friendly for only $10 more.

For $27 a night, the stay was well worth it for what it is. We were just stopping quickly overnight on a road trip, so did not use any of the other facilities.
The check-in process was long, as they only have 3-4 staff at the front desk for the entire 700+ room hotel. Had to wait 20-30 mins to check-in, and the front desk agent said it sometimes can take 2+ hours when busy. Lots of cigarette smoke from the casino in the front-desk area. I do not like that they do not guarantee a non-smoking room when booking.
The room itself was okay. Some updates were obviously attempted with new furniture, but the overall room shows its age. Cleanliness was fairly superficial. There were mounds of dust on some furniture items/light fixtures, and found some hair elastics/pins on the ground under the sink, etc. Bathroom fixtures are quite old, but the shower water pressure was probably the best I've had at any hotel - wow! Sheets were clean, bed was reasonably comfortable. Room amenities minimal. Only a TV - no coffee maker, fridge, etc.
Would definitely consider again for a short stay if ever needing an overnight on the way by.

If you are looking for a place that just has bare minimums, like a bed & bathroom then this place will work great for you. The rooms are absolutely no frills and the price reflects that. We just needed somewhere to sleep so it is fine. No fridge, no coffee maker in the rooms and potentially bring your own towels, they don't provide much.

Great little casino and hotel with great food. Service was very good, and were very attentive to our needs. Food was great and the price was even better with their specials !! You must stop there and have a bite of their special dinners in the cafe/diner. Great alternative to the buffet if you don't want a full blown buffet. At about half the price !!!

Loved this place! They have smoking and non smoking rooms and pet rooms. The casino was fun with new machines and some old ones where you can pull the handle 😀 The scenery outdoors is open and very nice. When you live in Vegas, it was great to get out of the hustle and bustle and simply relax 😌 Plus, the charge for the hotel was affordable without all the extra resort fees and daily pet fees. We want to go back asap!! 😀

The diviest of dives. I love this casino. The employees, though helpful, are not really pleased to be there. But maybe that's because of the hours I usually attend; midnight to four a.m. I'm sure they are quite tired and bored. The rooms are clean. The price of said rooms is fair, though I really wish they had refrigerators in them. They used to, I think. It had been many years between visits, so I can not be quite sure.

We have stayed here several times over the years, it just gets worse. I know by experience that there are NO in-room amenities, just 2 tiny bars of soap and a small TV. But this visit is my last. Tried to check in early (about 2:30) but was told the room wasn't ready. I was able to check in, and was told to come back after 4:00. We were in town to visit with relatives, so we came back around 7:30, got keys and left again, finally getting in about 9:30. What a filthy mess! Why did they make us wait for the room if it wasn't going to be cleaned? They did make the beds, but that is all, the rest of the room was filthy. The maid did leave her cleaning supplies (spray bottle and rags) so I cleaned the room myself! It was late, and I just wanted to go to bed. I complained to the manager the next day, and he said he'd "investigate" and get back to me. He never did. The next day I went back to the front desk, and they had a different manager on duty, who said I needed to speak to the first manager, who wouldn't be back for several days. She said she couldn't do anything. I'm never staying at this filthy dump again, and my advice to anyone thinking about staying here is to think again. (By the way, no hot water in the sink, and don't look at the bathroom ceiling).

The food at the Cafe was amazing, minus the Chinese menu. The steak buffet was GREAT. bowling alley was a nice activity to do. The staff inside the casino were very friendly and the bar serves well made drinks, and for a really good price.
My only downfall for this place was the hotel itself and the housekeeping.
Soo.... for the room... the room was fairly dirty I found empty water bottles under the table. What appears to be barbecue sauce on the dresser, wall behind the dresser and on the sides of the bed. I also found a full propane torch under the bed.
As for the housekeeping, they went into my room as I was eating breakfast, took my preroll joint off the table. And when I asked the housekeeping supervisor why they took my joint. She told me you should have put up a "do not disturb sign(which was not provided) she then went to take one from another room and give it to me.
With that said.. it was a great stay for the weekend. Will be returning.

Very smoky. Hard to breathe. Slots were very tight. Didn't see anyone win. Wait all day for bonus on machines and then you get next to nothing. Disappointing. I know you can't win all the time but when you put in a 100.00 and count on one hand the amount of times you get your bet back. That isn't fun

I had a reservation and drove from Las Vegas. Woman from front desk would not accept my ID because it was expired by a few days, after I said I had my credit card and registration, insurance which was up to date and had been drinking at a concert. I had an expired passport which I realized I should have had the proper up to date IDs, but how rude she was and did not even try to ask a superior if I could still just sleep there till 10am. It was after midnight, and then had the audacity to say would you like me to credit your credit card. I looked at her and said do you think you should charge my credit card and not expect me to stay at this establishment. I'm just stating facts, so it's up to anyone who reads this , two wrongs don't make a right, but if you're in the business to make money at least try to help a customer out. Not to mention I explained I was drinking and needed to lie my head down for a few hours. The next place I went to had no problem with my expired driver's license and expired passport because I explained to them what had just happened at the Virgin casino. This is the first complaint I have ever written in my life because of the attitude the woman had without even trying to consult her Superior.

Spend the extra $ and stay at the Eureka. This was probably the worst hotel stay ever! The rooms reminded me of one of the those hotel rooms you see in a horror movie. They smelt moldy and haven’t been updated since the 80’s. We brought our own bedding and pillows which is highly recommended. You might want to bring your own towels too as they were so thin you can see through them.
You will hear everything too! The walls are super thin and if you go to bed early be prepared to be woke by the drunk people leaving the casino at midnight. We had to call for security as some parents left there kids unattended to go gamble and were screaming and cussing up and down the balcony. When I called for security to come the guy drove by in his security car, yelled from his car to “quiet down” and drove off. The kids stopped for a second and continued.
The casino is very smoky so if you don’t smoke be aware of that.
The pool closes at 9pm so plan your night swim early.
If you bring kids there is an overpriced arcade and a bowling alley that doesn’t take reservations but was easy for us to get in.
The location is the only plus about the whole place. There is a McDonald’s directly across the street and there is a Starbucks located inside the casino.
All in all pay extra and stay somewhere else!

We booked a room for one night. Was not asked about smoking or non smoking when we booked online. When we arrived we were told they only had smoking rooms. The room was so disgusting. Not only did it smell like an ashtray and stale cigarette smoke but it was overall absolutely gross and filthy.
The bathtub had cigarette
burn marks all over the edge of it. The bottom of the tub was dirty and stained. The towels were ratty, full of holes and looked like they belonged in an auto shop, the chairs by the table were stained with god knows what.
We were traveling with young teenage athlete who had to sleep in that room which is not ok. He didn’t choose to be subjected to all the second/3rd hand smoke in that room. We DID NOT book a smoking room nor would we have EVER booked one and we were not given an option.
We had to go buy febreeze, air fresheners and candles just to try to mask the smell. We all woke up at 6:30am the next morning, couldn’t breathe and left without showering or anything because the room was so terrible and unsatisfactory.

We enjoyed our stay here. Paid $30/night so not expecting luxury. The rooms could use an upgrade and the towels were a bit too thin. But, our room was clean and convenient. We enjoyed the casino and the food was just fine in the Buffet. The staff were super nice as well. Overall it was a good stay.
Nestled in Mesquite, Nevada, the Casablanca Resort, Casino, Golf & Spa offers a relaxed atmosphere with its simple yet comfortable rooms. The resort boasts over 450 luxurious suites and tower rooms. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool is very clean and really nice. The spa was okay, not amazing. The steak house Katherine’s was excellent! The location of this casino/hotel is great, almost everything in Mesquite is in an awesome location. The rooms haven't been updated in what seems like 12-15 years.
The TVs weren't clear picture and I was in a room that had a bright purple light shining in the window all night.
Over all it was a comfortable bed and a warm shower with a clean towel, at an OK price, (it was over $120 a night due to multiple tournaments going on)

Fun, clean for the most part. We found a sock left over & few other signs of other people & personally I find that kinda gross but it is a hotel so.. 🤷♀️ aside from that and some vacuuming needed under the bed edges it was clean. Other issue I had was there was no Bible in the room! I was shocked i thought that was always a thing! The cocktail waitresses were quick and nice, the machines were decent and not too crowded. Best part was the pool hands down. Perfect temp and not too crowded on a Monday mind you. Rooms were a little over priced since we got into town around 130am they did make us pay Saturdays FULL night rate just so we could check in before 4PM!!! Kind of not worth it considering it was like $130 or so just to have those extra hours but being from out of town we didn't have much choice. Food at the Cafe was good not like omg great but still very good. Coffee shop is delicious would recommend. Over all we would stay there again.

I'm going with "kinda groovy". We day tripped our way up there from Vegas. It's not a bad drive and it's even scenic in some places. Now, on to the casino... It was busy on mother's day and it's nice to see everyone having a good time. I saw a guy win $1k dollars on a slot machine. We ate at their buffet on Saturday during the dinner menu. If you like crab legs you've hit the jackpot. Not my cup of tea. Their NY Strip was average at best. I enjoyed the salad bar, and even though it's small the selection was nice. The staff was attentive and the decor was 'dated' but okay. For $20 I think you'll come away with a full belly and satisfied. Just bear in mind it's not the Wicked Spoon or even SouthPoint's buffet... give it a try. Oh, and you'll notice a demographic difference too. Have fun!

Casablanca is wonderful! Located in Mesquite, it is what Las Vegas used to be! Affordable, but comfortable rooms and plenty of food choices. A beautiful spa service and Katherine's Steakhouse really are the gems of the resort. Their pool is wonderful. And, yes, plenty of gambling if you like that. You really don't need to leave the resort for your whole stay! We have had a few lovely stays here and will be back.

We had a great stay if I could give it 10 stars I would. So here I gave it 10 stars anyway they deserve it all the staff were helpful and friendly rooms were clean comfortable, everything everybody was awesome , right down to the girl who sells 75 cent hot dogs , no complaints at all. My family stays here every month and they love it. It was my second time here and now I love it here. We had a great time, thank you John Cassidy &family

We stopped in and stayed a few nights in the RV resort. The resort itself is beautiful. The kids absolutely loved the pool area with the slide and waterfall.
Pros: super reasonable prices, full hookups, close by laundry room (which was the cleanest I've ever seen), great public bathrooms (again, so clean), the pool area was stunning.
Cons: The RV spaces are teeny tiny. Like can't open the awning or door all the way because there's a huge bush/palm tree right there which also provides absolutely zero shade. The gravel/asphalt makes for a less than stellar area for kids to play (we had several scrapped knees).
All things considered we'd stay here again and recommend it to others. My only suggestion would be to spruce up the RV area. Maybe a little dirt or grass areas around sites. Some shade trees. It could use a little TLC.

I stayed here the 1st - 3rd of august. On the second we went to the spa. When we walked in it was super hot. Then they tell us the AC was broken. I feel like that they should’ve told us that before we came. There was construction going on right outside the quiet room, so it was loud and you had to walk outside just to get to the locker rooms etc.
I feel like a discount should’ve been offered because the whole reason we chose a spa was to get that quiet relaxing time. When we went it wasn’t that.
Don’t get me wrong the massage and the pool were great but it wasn’t a “ spa “ experience.

The rooms really need an overhaul, thin walls, and a dripping tub all night. The casino, we had a pretty good time, but it was very overwhelming with the smoke smell. You could taste it. Bar tender was great as well as the band. The restaurant, Catherines, was excellent. The taste of smoke and smelly cloths is a deal breaker for me to return.

Great property. Loved the golf package and Course. The buffet was great. The cigarette smoke was annoying around everything and we really missed not having a microwave in the rooms, but overall, will come again. The pool wasn't in service (sadly), but the pool area was beautiful.
Alan Walbeck — Google review
The hotel only has one set of elevators right next to the casino and lobby. So once you get to your floor be prepared to walk a good distance to get to your room. Every floor smells like cigarette smoke (I'm a smoker and found it annoying. I get in the casinos or on certain floors, but every single floor smelled like it). The wallpaper is peeling in the rooms, the tv picture is garbage, barely any accessible outlets without unplugging stuff, overall the rooms are in dire need of an update. The service was excellent at the front desk. However the Cafe leaves much to be desired. I ate here on 3 separate occasions. The chicken stir fry was decent aside from the chicken, which was bland and tasted boiled. The breakfast was okay..the eggs and toast were good. The sausage had an odd taste, and the hash browns were severely undercooked. For my third and final meal I got a Texas Ranch burger. Because how can you screw up a burger, right? You cannot pick this thing up off the plate without the bun crumbling out from top and bottom, leaving a greasy mess. The service was okay on the better day and downright bad on the first day. Locals seem to love it though. I'm guessing because their price point is cheaper than McDonald's. There are better affordable options in the area. They just try to get as many people in and out as fast as possible, and it shows in both the service and food quality.
The casino is a pretty good size, and there were plenty of options for slots, table games, and more. The casino staff was very friendly and helpful, from table games to bartenders and cocktail servers.
Overall I'd stop at the casino again but only after eating elsewhere, and I'd find a different hotel to stay in.

From the 1st day we got there, we were treated like celebrities. Everyone was so nice. Kept our rooms clean. Dining was very good food n all and staff there were very professional had good smiles. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for the buffet and to catch the football game. The buffet was standard but really tasty. Didn't wait long to be seated or be served drinks. Buffet experience was great. However when I watched the game I can't say I enjoyed it. I waited for 7 minutes or so to try and get a drink from a bartender. Absolutely didn't even get noticed. After ten minutes I decided to just watch the game. Other than that, place was great to view the game.

Great pool, but it closes too early. Cabanas are over 100 for use. I like that eureaka has free ones and think they should take a page from them. Spa is great, and massages here are awesome! Fridges in most of the rooms I have been in but they are way outdated and need an updated boring rooms with uncomfortable beds and flat pillows. Over all its ok to stay at with kids.

I like staying here. Overall they do a great business in rooms, food and beverage. They have a nice spa with private pool, steam room and services. I have enjoyed gaming here with friends and have seen some live entertainment they offer. Its kid and older adult friendly. The pool is very popular and has hours of operation for cleaning. Its 85 miles north of Las Vegas and 40 miles south of St. George, Utah. The casino and golf are well reknowned for a great getaway.

Great place to get away for a few days. It's 90 miles from Henderson. Beautiful pool and grounds. Live entertainment in the casino. Catherine's restaurant is wonderful! They also have a lovely spa and golf course.

The service was excellent, everyone was very nice. The golf corse and pool are beautiful. I didn't like that there are only two entrances to the hotel and people had to walk a long way to get to their rooms without luggage carts. I wished they had a shuttle bus so you didn't have to drive to the other casinos.
Got here Dec 2022 with my 2001 F-150 Super crew 4x4. Truck had no problem getting here. Place is GORGEOUS! A regular car can get to Whitney Pocket on a very rough paved road. Past that will probably violate a rental car agreement. The washes are less rough than the roads. We topped off the gas in Mesquite. Only civilized thing out there was one porta potty at Whitney fold. Bring one or a shovel. I'm taking the Jeep on the next visit.

The dirt road is not so good for 2WD, managable, but hard. Nice view but we had difficulties to find nice fins. We have found petrogryphs, which was amazing, however i wouldn’t go there for the second time.
Anna Cieślińska — Google review
Remote and beautiful. 2-1/2 hours from the strip. Would recommend a 4x4 even though we didn't need to use it while driving there. I could have spent the entire day exploring just here. If I did it again, I would park near the northwest side of the wall instead of following the signs all the way to the dead end and then walking down the face to the dunes.
Chad Hatfield — Google review
Beautiful scenery, it's a shame however a majority of the fins are destroyed. Both occasions I visited I witnessed young children basically kicking them over or standing on them while parents paid zero attention to them. The spot is still an amazing visit regardless.

Wow! Talk about off the beaten path. I saw nobody on the way down the 30 mile road/trail on the way in or the way out. Nobody here on a Monday! What a great place to enjoy lunch and take in the amazing scenery
Alan Courtemanche — Google review
Strongly recommend going upto little finland in a vehicle and not hike to the Rock formations. There is enough hiking that can be done at the place. We drove in Honda Civic. The were very few spots where we felt we needed a 4WD, but a vehicle with higher clearance would have helped... Of course the weather was dry, so can't comment on how it would have been on a wet day. One word of
caution... Google maps (pl don't forget to download offline maps for the area) will show a longer route. When you get the sign board indicating "Little Finland 9 >", take the right turn which is the Mud wash road (added this photo).

Great Museum and piece of Nevada/SW USA/Native American history. Cheap entrance fee for an easy hour of information and entertainment. Check out the two video screenings. Excellent collection of preserved pottery. Gift store & clean restroom inside.

Interesting and informative museum. Many artifacts dating back to the Anasazi through the Mormon settlements. There is a replica of the Pueblos that you can visit. Plenty of parking and friendly staff. Service dogs are the only animals allowed. The museum is wonderful.

Very interesting history with photographs, artifacts and detailed descriptions of everything. The museum is very clean, organized and well ran, we thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Make sure to watch the videos, they tell the story in great detail. The sidewalk around the outside takes you to the pueblo village, mining equipment and a monument to the Moapa Valley Pioneers.

Fun little museum to beat the heat! $6 pp and it says military is free at the front desk but when I asked the attendant he said actually no it's not, so not sure about military discount but that's ok I'm happy to support the museum.
Small museum but good amount of artifacts and the a/c feels really great at 2pm in June! The reconstructed buildings outside are cool to see how they may have looked.
Also cool is that they have shaded kennels for your pets, as well as a gazebo type thing with grills but I'm not sure if the public is allowed to use them.

If you enjoy Southwest history both ancient & more recent, this museum is well worth the stop. It includes Anasazi/Puebloan artifacts, wonderful rock/mineral displays & great old photos of the local mining towns. The "lost city" was St. Thomas, a Mormon farm town which was covered by Lake Mead once Boulder Dam was completed in the 1930s. Fun book store too.

Friendly staff. Free for those under 18 years old. Otherwise it's $5/person. It's a quick stop. You need about 30 minutes to see everything. There is some neat history of the area. Lots of information to take in. There is a full sized model Pueblo as it would have looked 1000 years ago.
Valley of Fire State Park is a natural wonder located approximately 50 miles from Fremont Street Experience. It spans across 40,000 acres and features stunning red Aztec sandstone formations, petrified trees, and ancient Native American petroglyphs at Atlatl Rock. This Nevada state park was the first to receive official designation in 1935 and has been sculpted by wind and water over thousands of years.
Valley of fire State Park! Wow I can't even begin to describe the beauty of this place. Here is just a few pics of it. First of all it is the most peaceful and quiet place. It looks like it's not even real at all. The weather was just perfect and sunny. I would advise you to wear enclosed shoes and have some water on you if you decide to hike around. There are wildlife out here like snakes etc so be careful of the holes in the ground. Also make sure you have enough gas in the tank Because it's a long way to a gas station and cell service might not be the best out there.

This has to be one of my all time favorite places. We got there early morning. The park was quiet and our first hike was amazing on the White Domes trail. The Narrows was definitely my favorite part of this trail. Everywhere you look is something interesting. This whole park is amazing and if you drag it out could spend a whole day here. Hikes are easy and most everyone we came across was friendly.

This a hidden gem - a must visit, especially if you are traveling from Vegas to Zion - a short detour that’s worth every bit. Spectacular views and short easy hikes. If you are visiting during summer be mindful of the weather and carry loads of water or fill up at the visitor center. Entrance is 15$ (2022) for private vehicle. Spend up to 3-4hrs to see most points

A must see in the Vegas area. So beautiful and astonishing. Colorful and awesome. It's a state park, you can't use your annual pass here. It's an extra fee but absolutely worth it. We have been here several times and would always return. It's an about 1 1/2 hours drive from Vegas, we always do it on our way to other parks. If you want to see all and hike, at least plan half a day, but you can also just take the scenic drive in and out.

Absolutely beautiful, paradise for a photographer. I would recommend going as early as possible to catch the sunrise, there are some spots that are just awesome. The hikes are not crazy difficult, so you can do them with the gear. My must visit spots are the mouse tank road (right before rainbow vista), fire wave hike and just drive all the way down in mouse tank road, totally worth it.
We went during end of September and at 8am the sun was high enough that we felt it was 2 pm, so carry water.

Valley of Fire is beautiful and has a good amount of easy to moderate difficulty trails along with more challenging options. There is a lot of variation in environment and the visitors center provides a good overview of the history of the park and the animals and rocks that are a part of the area.
There are restrooms and shaded picnic tables at several of the parking areas.

A wonderful place to visit in April if it's not raining or snowing. We waited a couple days to come on a nice and sunny day. The temperature was in mid 50s so it was perfect for hiking. I can imagine it being really hot in summer here with all the sand and rocks baking in 110+ degrees. Anyway, the views were stunning and not at all scary in terms of heights. I feel safe hiking here. Bring a lot of water to drink and wear sunglasses. The wind is quite strong and the sand gets flown around.

Make sure when you come to Vegas you make time to come to this amazing state park. Beautiful scenic views and wildlife on sight. I got to see rams and cool insect. Didn't get to hike to the famous fire wave but to check out some really cool spots with no people around. Visitor center available with small museum and restrooms. Entrance fee was $15.

This was a great way to spend a day! The day we went it was almost 100 degrees so any hiking we did was brief due to the heat. But we took full advantage of driving the scenic routes and the view stations. Absolutely stunning scenery.

Beautiful natural area. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen! All the normal precautions regarding hiking in the desert apply. Park gets busy at times so plan accordingly.
Lots of nice hikes to choose from, "The Wave" is a popular favorite. I especially enjoy The White Domes Trail that goes through a slot canyon.

Awesome landscape. Take your sunglasses, hat, hiking shoes and water. Lots of water! Atmosphere is very dry but it's worth it. There are many stops to wonder around. I went to about 6 of them. Fortunately, some of those include restrooms. Be sure to use them as the next one might not be near.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous place! I am so glad that I chose to come here with my 3 kids after driving over 4 hrs each way to Southern California and back a day prior. It was a gem and I will definitely go back to see the magnificent canyons that Valley of Fire has to offer. This place is a must see and it’s only a short 1 hour drive out from Las Vegas.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit with the family. $10 per car to enter.
I can’t wait to return for camping. The rock formations look alien and gorgeous.
I would recommend going in the winter months. There is a lot to see and explore. Have comfortable hiking shoes.

I was not expecting such a fantastic scenic park! We were driving to Las Vegas when we saw the signs for Valley of Fire and I remembered a coworker had mentioned this place.
So we took a detour. At first I was not going to enter due to the $15 fee. But decided I had made it this far and we could drive straight through.
I was amazed at the very scenic red rock mountains. From the outside of the park you do not get a true impression.
We spent about three hours in the park which is enough to simply see it. We did a few short hikes and drove everywhere we could. We also went in the winter and the park was packed! We skipped a few parking areas because they were full and we did not want to park illegally.
But we were still able to see the sights from other viewing areas.

Valley of Fire was my absolute favorite park I visited in Vegas! We visited the first week of March and even though it was spring we had a nice temperature wise day it got to 67.
It was so breath taking, around every corner is a different shaped and colored rock, I recommend going around sunset time, the rocks really pop with color and of course the sky does to!
We got there a little late, we had about 2 hours until the sun set, which I thought they'd have security trying to get you out around that time but they don't. When we left no one was at the gate and no one was driving around the park trying to make you leave. So technically you could stay after dark, but I don't' recommend it lol. There is however a camp site in the park where people stay.
Right as we we entered we saw wild Rams which was really cool!
The gift shop was cute, they had a decent amount of souvenirs to buy.
Overall I HIGHLY recommend taking the hour drive here you won't be disappointed!

This place was amazing. My recommendation is to come early. The park is huge and you won’t want to rush the experience, you could be there all day and still not see it all. Overnight camping is permitted and there are plenty of day use areas perfect for a day long getaway! Make sure to look for Sheep as they are all over the park. Located only a short drive from Vegas, this is a must see!

This is one of my favorite parks in NV. This place is very unique, gorgeous, and different, with amazing rock formations and colors. On top of that, the hikes are nice and short and you can get easily achieve them in a day. I always pack a picnic basket with me to enjoy after a few hikes. Many picnic areas within the park. If you are lucky you will run into mountain goats. The visitors are fun to explore. They do have a water station you can refill your bottle. If you are not a fan of hiking then do the scenic drive. Also, the night skies here are awesome, especially on the full moon evening. You can get an annual state pass for $80 or else $10 for a day pass.

I love this place as I feel it is magical and rejuvenates the spirit and soul. It is about an hour and forty five minute drive from Las Vegas and is a great 6-8 hour day trip from the city. I love to take visitors there as a surprise and they love it. As you near the park, cross grey brown desert, then suddenly drop into this red valley of incredible geological formation. I recommend you go in the earlier part of morning or later evening to get the best sun glow contrast on the valley rather than the bright of mid day. There are several hiking trails and a gorgeous educational visitor center. This is a great go to for children, families, and adults alike! A must see. A magical journey.
Helpful Travel Safety Tips: Cell phone service is often spotty or nonexistent. When preparing for travel through desert terrain and roads I suggest you take the following: a topography map of the state, 1 gallon of water for each occupant, nuts/dried fruit, sunglasses, large brimmed hat, sunscreen, long sleeve shirt, long pants, close toed sneakers/hiking footwear, a roll of toilet paper with a good garbage bag (always pack out your trash), flashlight with fresh batteries, and a blanket. Also, I recommend that you get gas regularly, keeping above 3/4 of a tank as there are areas without gas for many miles between service stations.

It's beautiful! All the red rock and sand is stunning. There are signs throughout the park that say, "You Might Die." Lol. No seriously there are! We were there in September. It was hot and dry. Hotter and dryer than you think, so definitely bring a cooler with ice and plenty of water. And mind your step. A woman accidentally stepped on a poisonous snake by us, and she nearly got bit. There is no cell service at the park, so it's best to be prepared. Enjoy the park! It is truly magical!
*There is a restroom at the entrance to the State Park, and restrooms at the Visitors Center a few miles in the park. (No cell reception there either.)

You have to experience a sunrise or sunset here to truly understand why they call it VALLEY OF FIRE.
I’ve traveled the world, and can say with certainty- it’s one of the most beautiful desert experiences out there.
That being said IT’S HOT- especially during the summer. As always, it’s important to remember to pack, dress and hydrate appropriately to ensure a great experience.
Wearing shoes with thicker padding will help you traverse the shifting sand ground that lines the valley.
Driving the loop is an experience in itself- but true happiness comes from taking a few moments to explore what’s behind some of the massive rock formations.
Don’t leave without driving the scenic route around and beyond the visitor center.
A mile or two up a steep incline drive, you’ll be welcomed by one of the most expansive and mesmerizing desert scenes that the west has to offer.
If you’re a nature lover- bring a small pair of binoculars with you. Wildlife is abundant, and you’re guaranteed to see something interesting if you take a moment to search for it.
Cheers, and Safe travels!!

Really special place with some unique rock formations that you can't find anywhere else, especially the road that goes right through the canyon. You must drive through Mouse's Tank road and see the view, it's incredible. Next to the Rainbow Vista trail is a great spot to take photos of the road and the valley. Be prepared for high temperatures here and zero shade. If you're short on time you can definitely visit the different areas of the park in 1 day. I highly recommend you come here if you're around the Las Vegas area.

This national park was a revelation. I haven’t heard much about it as compared to Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon but I was very surprised that this park is gorgeous, and super underrated!
The views are spectacular, the sand stones come in different hues of red, pink and natural color. There are picnic areas and it can also be used to hold special events such as weddings!
Would you believe there are petroglyphs in some of the rocks dating back 2,000 years
I recommend you take the tour since there are a lot of anecdotes and stories that happened inside the park and they make for a deeper appreciation.
We took the pink jeep day tour for 5.5 hours. Totally worth it!

Valley of Fire is an amazing stop to see the drastic landscape in Nevada. For Nevada residents it is a 10 dollar entrance fee out of state is 15 dollars and veterans get a dollar off. All roads were paved and it was not too crowded. The fire wave loop was a fun hike and not too strenuous. You can see big horns sheep and prong horns. See hirogliphics, petrified logs, beautiful sandstone formations and the reds, oranges, yellows, pinks, white, and purples in the formations. The visitor center has wonderful information about the park and a gift shop. There were restrooms at several stops in the park and picnic areas. When hiking in the desert be sure to come prepared with sun block, hats, water, and appropriate clothing for the season. This is a must do stop. Our whole family loved it. We made two stops in in one weekend first on Friday on our way to Zion and then on Sunday coming home. We just couldn't get enough of this park and hope to come back soon to explore more.

Beautiful state park, craggy and raw and interesting. Everywhere I looked, I saw faces because of the holes that are made naturally in the soil and mountains due to the material being eroded by rain and water.
There are many vistas in the Valley Of Fire, each one holding its own beauty.
It felt like I landed on another planet, I almost think that some alien and other planet fiction movies were probably filmed here.
I highly recommend a visit here during the cooler months. I went just as Spring started so it was quite nice but I can imagine just how hot it can get as it goes nearer summer.

My partner and I visited this national park, and it was so worth it. We loved that we were able to see a lot of it in half a day. We visited the elephant rock(hiked a trail around it), which is very cool, and then we drove back to see seven sisters and up to rainbow vista all the way up to Fire wave. I highly recommend hiking around fire wave because you will see some pastel looking rocks not far out.
We visited in February, and weather was in the low 50's. They charge $15 for non-residents.

We came to the area to do a number of hiking trails. Grand Canyon was great. We went to the West rim, Red Rock was fantastic but visually we were in complete awe while visiting the valley of Fire. Once you enter the park, there are many trails you can go to and based on your physical capabilities, you can choose which one you would like to go on. This truly looked like we were in some sort of science fiction movie. Please make sure to bring plenty of water. Once you are on the trail, you'll want to continue the supplemental trails that loop you around. There is an admission price at the ranger station and here they will also give you a map. We downloaded maps online to have an idea before we got there. Enjoy.

Simply stunning. A must-see, world-class park. Competes with most any National Park and would totally deserve that recognition except it is on the compact side. In terms of beauty, it’s oversized. There are petroglyphs, fossils, great hiking trails and vistas, and a beautiful scenic drive throughout. Cannot recommend enough!

This has been on my bucket list for years, and after finally visiting I sure know why it was on there!
This park is incredible! I personally think it has aspects of Zion, Arches, and Canyonlands national park all in one! Very beautiful views especially when it is sunny! Hikes were fun and gave a sense of being off-trail without being too long! I was only able to explore the park for a few hours but I wish I could have spent a few days here!
Crowds were minimal but that is to be expected during a weekday! I would guess this park is much busier on weekends. I did not have a problem finding parking but if it was a little busier it would start becoming a challenge to find parking.
Overall I would definitely recommend this park and I will be coming back!
