Went on the Frostburg trip. The ride was great. We opted for the upper dome seating. Wow 360° views. A bit chilly because of the cold weather and older glass but the views were unbelievable. Brunch was included big bonus. Once in Frostburg we were shuttled into town. That was kind of disappointing because the shops were closed all but a very few. (A coffee shop, Lady Bug store and a local essents store) So not so good on a Sunday morning in March.
Plan on trying their Murder Mystery dinner trip. Sounds like it will be a blast.

Fantastic experience. Would definitely recommend going during mid-late October to see peak fall foliage. Get there early to get a seat in the right side if the train as it has better views. You can also get up and walk around so I walked to the outdoor part where you could hear the engine and whistle and smell the steam from the coal, even getting hit with light soot debris. Will be going again!

This past Saturday, I went on the Evening Dinner Train excursion with a few friends. Let me say, it didn't disappoint. There was also a Murder Mystery show going on during the excursion. The food was excellent, the only thing I would have to say is be careful that you check your silverware once you sit down. Two of the four of us didn't have a knife, so we shared our silverware. Overall, it was a fantastic trip for the price. Got a three hour train ride, dinner and a show.

My wife took me on the scenic train ride for my 60th birthday. I had never been on a train of any kind. I was so excited and the excursion did not disappoint. We chose the open car which was very enjoyable since it was a picture perfect day. Might not be a good idea if rain is in the forecast but definitely a good idea if there is no rain due. I plan to try one of the dinner rides next. I would suggest to bring your own food on the open car. The hot dogs we purchased left a lot to be desired. But overall this was a great experience for a very fair price.

It's a nice train ride with some good scenery. The 90 minute layover in Frostburg was a slight disappointment... you have to walk up a big hill into town and not much to see once there. The staff seemed to be nice, with the exception of the lounge car attendant- she was just nasty rude. That's why you get a 1 star rating. Save your money and go ride the Potomac Train in Romney, WV.

Went for our Anniversary. Did first class lounge. $97.50 each. This did include a $20 food voucher each. The trip itself was nice. Very nice and comfy and warm. If you do the lounge I suggest you sit close to where the bar is. We sat clear in the back and it was like pulling teeth to get my hubby coffee let alone any refills. It’s called SCENIC but honestly there is no scenery. Dumpy houses and hillsides mostly. But the ride itself was nice. The Conductor was sooooo friendly. He told us him and his wife owned the lounge car and the car behind us. Made it more personable knowing all the info he gave. Went to Frostburg and had the shuttle take us up into town. It started hailing when we left the train lol. Not much to see or do there. Mostly everything was closed so we just walked around for almost two hours. By then the sun was out. Took shuttle back down to train. Once back in lounge car, we finally hailed the young guy who was the waiter. Nice guy but he was sooo busy you had to really get his attention for any orders. I had the chicken sandwich and I highly recommend that to everyone. My hubby had the turkey sandwich. If your not very hungry I say get it. There isn’t much to it. I will show a pic of menu as well. We also got the cheesecake with blueberries. I paid the difference from the $20 voucher and how much I went over. Was never give any napkins or silverware. So we had a rough time while eating. Sooo bring a few with you!!! We had to ask a few times for something to stir coffee with and getting creamer took forever so be patient. All in all it was a good way to spend the day. Not sure I would do the lounge car or trip again.

Nice relaxing day. Wonderful staff, Shelby is awesome. There could be a bit more signage directing folks and communication on what’s going on. Did not know there was a shuttle to take people in town and was not aware our train tickets would gain us entry in the carriage museum. A big thanks to your hard working crew for making it a great day! Roll on 1309!!!

A lovely day out! This was such a treat from start to finish! We started the day with a visit the C&O canal exhibit on site. Great way for the whole family to learn more about how goods ( mainly coal) was transported by the canal system. It provided a lot of jobs in the area and was quite innovative for its time. The train station is a step back in time. The entire process was easy to navigate. I especially loved the conductor shouting “ ALL ABOARD “. We were in coach and it was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was a great relief on this hot summer day. They have a lovely little concession to get some quick treats for your ride to Frostburg MD. The train conductor or (someone else not sure) was an excellent tour guide throughout the journey.
My only complaint would be the lack of a shuttle from the Frostburg station to main street in Frostburg. While there were things to do at the station, the town of Frostburg was fun to visit. We did have to walk a very steep hill ( there were also steps) to get to Main Street.
I definitely recommend taking a trip
On the Frostburg Flyer soon!

My husband and I brought our grandchildren to ride the train. They are 2 and 6 yrs old and love trains. They absolutely loved the train ride. The Conductor moved us to seats that had a full window for them to look out as our original seats only had part of the window to see out of. They gave information about certain key places along the route. All the staff was friendly, the train was clean. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Juanita Hock — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end! The Cumberland station is easy to navigate and parking was convenient. The train ride was wonderful! I'd suggest to sit on the side closest to the station, for best views, if possible. Autumn was in full bloom (on 10/21), and the sights were breathtaking! Frostburg station was very nice also. There is a steep walk (up several stairs and then up a hill) to get to most of the shops in Frostburg, but if that isn't doable, the shops and museum on the same level as the station will definitely suffice for 90 minutes. We loved everything about this adventure and will be back again!

Beautiful train ride. The website is bit confusing as far as the layover in Frostburg. So we did not know we could ride the train one way and ride rail bikes back, which we would have loved to do. Definitely will come back to do that. Longe car and table car were very nice food was OK.

Wow. Just stop reading this and book the trip! What an amazing little day trip. I've lived less than an hour away for over 20 years and after experiencing it, I cannot believe it took me so long to go. The staff cares about what they do and it shows. You can feel just how much these people LOVE their "jobs." Very friendly. Very helpful. Very accommodating. There is something for everyone even those who aren't very into trains. You don't have to be into trains at all! Wanna take the kids and let them have fun while you relax? Book a ticket. Want to leave the kids or whoever at home and have some drinks while someone else drives? Book a ticket. Seriously this is a wonderful little gem hiding in plain site. Great prices, wonderful staff, and so much fun.

I'm not sure if it is worth $150.00 a person for a train ride. But the cars are neat as can be, you need to check them all out. The diesel and the steam engines are beautiful. The station and platform look like new. You guys keep it all in amazing condition.
Kenneth Kutcher — Google review
Beautiful experience, especially in the fall with the leaves. Get in line early so you can get a good spot on the train. Highly recommend the open air car if you can.
When I went it was quite chilly which I think caused more people to not want to sit outside, but on the way back, everyone wanted an outside seat when they saw how pretty it was and how much better the views are.

We had a wonderful excursion on the railroad traveling from Cumberland to Frostburg and back. I highly recommend the observation car as it was very comfortable and offered a great view of the Maryland countryside. We were also able to go downstairs in the car to a lounge area to escape the sun from time-to-time. I did try the open car for about 30 minutes; however, with the heat and humidity and diesel fumes, I'm glad we had signed up for the observation car. The railroad staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The only nit on the entire excursion involved getting on and off the train. My wife has significant mobility issues and needed help with using the metal boarding stool. The staff was reluctant to offer any help or encouragement to her in boarding or in getting off the train. We did okay on our own; however, we would have been much happier if assistance had been offered. A concern over liability issues may have been part of the problem.

First of all, it’s supposed to be a scenic ride, but the windows are all dirty. They could’ve at least cleaned the windows in between rides. So to get good pictures, I had to go to the open air seating. If you do go for open seating, sure the fresh air is nice but you will also get the smoke, leaves, and bits of dirt. The uphill hike (road or stairs) in Frostburg is not recommended for anybody with mobility issues or heart condition. There is a shuttle that’s crowded. Maybe they should expand the shops and dining choices in the level of the station. 90 minutes is not enough. So we didn’t really explore Frostburg. When you book, make sure you choose the right side of the train coz that’s where the views are. The train didn’t flip or did the turntable, they just reversed (engines both front and back) so the right side still gets the best views. That said, it was a nice experience to tick off my Maryland to do boxes. Autumn was in full bloom.

A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
$90/ticket for the Lounge car; treated with a glass of champagne, a guide to point out interesting things on route, a barman, and a $20 meal voucher.
Nearly 2hr stop in Frostburg. On a Sunday not much is open.

Did the winter Allegheny express afternoon excursion with layover in Frostburg. Great trip! Loved the open air car. It was a warm day. Very relaxing and fun. Can’t hear any announcements though in the open car (but we didn’t mind this)
Pulled by a diesel. Will have to return to see the famous steam engine!!
Pricing was reasonable for the ride (coach) but the food on board was pricier so we just ate before.
Not much direction when boarding, this could be improved as a process, for example which cars to sit in for your ticket and where the dining car is would have been helpful info to know. We figured it out, but this is a suggestion for future improvement considering visitors from other countries etc.
We had planned to have a snack in Frostburg but apparently very few businesses are open on Sundays which we didn’t know. There is a steep hill to get up to the town which could be difficult for people with mobility constraints. Maybe they could offer a shuttle?
Town itself is charming but I wish they’d partner more with the railroad in offering some more business options to peruse as well as signage at the depot informing people what’s available, maybe even a map for those unfamiliar with the area, this could even include sponsorships or advertising to defray the cost and support local businesses. I did stop at a book shop and read some historical markers but otherwise the 2hr layover is a bit much. Frostburg looks like it is in revival but honestly a bit disappointing place to visit. There’s nothing to do even at the station, the gift shop was closed and there’s no food or options. A railroad museum, food trucks, signage, etc as well as more local businesses open in town would have improved that layover immensely.
Other major issue we encountered was the train station at Cumberland had a lot of homeless hanging around. Situational awareness is needed. They are sleeping near or under the freight cars and we came across a stash of garbage and human waste while trying to look at the cars and see the bridge or walkway on the other side.
Very beautiful building though! Gift shop should lean more into the WM logo and history. It would sell way more items then.
Would love to see this organization make some improvements to bring guest experiences to the next level! Looking forward to visiting again.

I keep seeing mixed reviews and I feel like it’s very normal for people to only take the time to leave a review when they have something negative to say. But I was nervous taking the trip for this after seeing so many negative reviews. SO I wanted to get on here and say that my kids had the BEST time! The staff was wonderful and friendly and we rode the steam engine and it was amazing! Santa was so fun and my girls each got a bell. My husband I got one also! The hot cocoa was yummy. They had a conductor walking through the train cars and it really felt like we were on a night ride through the northern wilderness. It’s worth it! Not to mention. The town is ADORABLE if you have any time to stay and explore. It looks like a Christmas Card!

We were close by Cumberland for a spa weekend at Rocky gap casino and the train ride was perfect. It is a few hours, so something great to do if you have a fair amount of extra time. We did the winter express and the views were great, be aware there were a lot of homes along the tracks so not as scenic as I thought it would be. You have the option to dine on the train if you have the coach ticket as well so we did that and the food was great, service was fast and efficient. It was also continently located to downtown Cumberland. Went to the shops and got some coffee
Brooke Oldring — Google review
We chose Cumberland since the steam engines were already booked up. We booked the 7:30 one but showed up early at 4 looking to find some things to do beforehand. We have twin 7 yr old boys with lots of energy. It was a warm day even though it was Dec 22. We found a parking spot easily where we didn’t have to pay. Then walked around town. Not a whole lot going on there really. Some random shops but nothing interesting to my kids. Right outside the train station there’s a lil playground so we spent most of our time there. We hit up The Crabby Pig restaurant nearby. It was okay. Once it got dark they had a lot of lights around the station. 7:30 came and we got in line. Not much communication on where to stand. They have 3 lines #840 844 & 852 and on the left. There were so many people you didn’t know where the lines were. We waited a lot longer because of that. We boarded and the train is so cool to walk through. We got a 4 top table on 852 car. There’s some guys who start dancing and singing and do great. Only thing is you can barely hear the music. My kids didn’t care but hey it’d be nice to hear it for how much I paid. They go through some routines, then you get hot chocolate, a cookie (that sucks), and a souvenir mug. Then Santa comes and hands out bells. The workers and Santa all played their parts great! Took time to get pics too. The train ride would of been nicer at the 5:30 showing this time of year. At 7:30 it’s so dark you barely see anything until you get to the North Pole which was nice and all lit up. It’s only an hour ride but honestly it’s a perfect amount of time. Our train car was lively and everyone was singing songs. Had a great time overall. Definitely do it again. Just please get some louder speakers:)

My husband and I took our 6 and 9 year olds for the Polar Express ride and it was great! We chose the table car and it was perfect to enjoy our hot chocolate. The staff was friendly and great with the kids. Polar Express music played, the book was read, Santa stopped by and took a picture and the train car sang Christmas carols together. Overall a great experience!
Rocky Gap State Park boasts a recreational area equipped with a lake featuring a sandy beach, as well as hiking trails and a favored campground fully stocked with amenities. Visitors can enjoy the outdoors by camping in tents with electrical hookups for an affordable price. The friendly Camp Host is available to deliver firewood upon request for only $7 per bundle. The park was recently celebrated during New Years Eve when nearby fireworks from the casino added to its charm.
Perfect when staying at the hotel. I walked around the entire lake without having to enter my car. Plenty to look at and take pictures of in the park. The next time I come I’m going to hike a different trail to see what else there is to see. Perfect place for bird watching. I highly recommend coming here even just for the day to walk in the woods.

First time here and we had a great time. Spent 3 nights in a tent with an electrical hookup for 90$ total. The Camp Host was very friendly and hand delivers your firewood for 7$ a bundle. We came here to celebrate New Years Eve and didn't know the nearby casino did fireworks so we were pleasantly surprised by that. The trails are really nice and not too challenging. We will definitely be coming back for some weekend getaways.

Our family has been camping here since 2010. Its quiet, family oriented, camping spots are spacious including pull throughs for fifth wheels/travel trailers, bathrooms are very clean, trails are well maintained and the beach is nice. There is a casino, hotel, beach, and golf course on one side of the property. On the otherside its camping, another beach, an aviary, part of the golf course, camping store and lots of trails. My only complaint is there is no sewer hook up in the ground for our travel trailer so we had to lug the portable one after filling it to the facility to empty it. My husband and I decided to only use our bathroom for going pee since there was no sewer hook up so since it was only urine we were emptying it was still a pain. The bathrooms were not that far but its just convenient to use our own facilities. Anyway, this place is absolutely beautiful!! Come visit and see for yourself.

Born and raised just a few miles down the road I would carry a raft through the woods in the summer and dear hunt in the fall where there is now a golf course. I never wanted the Casino or Golf Coarse. Today I enjoy and see that I can appreciate the change. I did not get a lake view room and the best thing about that was watching the sun come up from my bed.

If you love history, you have to visit the Okd Bedford Village. This place is amazing! An amazing effort put into bringing historic buildings to life (while saving them from destruction from time). Different time periods are represented, but there are bits of history to explain each one and the time frame they were built.

Old Bedford Village, along with Fort Bedford, are two must see attractions in Bedford PA. You will want to plan on spending more time in the village than at the fort. Old Bedford Village is a fantastic time machine! The structures are all real, they've been relocated here. Most are open and almost every one has something different to experience. After you've gone here (and the fort) you'll next want to visit Old Economy Village just outside Pittsburgh. That stop on the time machine is 1800's :)

Good outdoor museum on folklore with houses from 18th century and later. Fairly cheap to get in (10 dollars for an adult). Children seem amused here as there were several hands on activities for them. All can be seen in 90 minutes or less but you can easily spend more time here as well. Staff was friendly and some houses staffed with people in period clothing telling you more about the house or their craft. QR codes in each house made it possible to hear a video narrative of the house.

We visited on a Thursday. Not very crowded, which I love. I’m gonna give you my feedback as a parent who had a 10, 11 and 13 year old with them. You can pay admission using a cc but once you’re in the village it’s all cash. This wasn’t my fav and having a couple of phones with square pay on them would def make for a happier and easier user experience. My oldest made a pie safe door design using a mallet and nail. Very cool. Younger two fed chickens, panned for “gold” and ran around in the diff buildings. The buildings each have short YouTube videos that you can watch to tell you more about each building- which was cool too. Blacksmith is a full time blacksmith, but also not the most friendly. Our boys came into the building and he told them they had to leave if they didn’t have an adult. Now, I’m all in on safety, but there was a barrier and all this direction of scolding did was disengage my kids from this part of the village. I understand why adults do this but I don’t think it’s helpful. There are kind ways to give that info- he def didn’t do it that way and when I offered to go back in with my kids they said no. Lost opportunity :( then we went to the gift shop. Unfortunately, it made me unhappy. There was a ton of confederate stuff. Why? Pa was Union. My ancestor was a Union soldier. I don’t want confederate stuff being sold to me in that place, it just feels racist honestly. So, that was the impression I left with- confederate cash, confederate flags, confederate soldier kits. I mean they had a union flag and a union solider kit too but I’m just sayin I wouldn’t show up at the pitt store and expect to be able to buy Penn state gear. Full stop. So, I’d go again but I hope a decision maker reads this and considers what message they send with these items in their shop.

What a fun day! There is so much to see. We spent about three hours there. There were about 5 reenactors/artisans there, and we learned about spinning, pottery, blacksmithing, candle making, broom making and more! It's a great price, only $10 for adults and $5 for kids over 5.
There are opportunities to pay (bring cash) for treats, refreshments, tin activities, and the candle making.
I took my daughter's ages 7, 10. And they loved it! I look forward to events in the fall and at Christmas time.
Thank you to all of the time and effort you all put into making this an invaluable and memorable experience!

The grass was neatly trimmed and buildings were clean considering open doors, windows, and cracks in the chinking. Four buildings had reenactors which was very interesting! The Paw Paw Tunnel is a canal tunnel located in Western Maryland that was opened in 1850. The tunnel features a long towpath trail and brass plates that explain its history, making it an excellent location for those interested in the history of the C&O canal. Currently, there is construction going on at the site, but visitors are still able to go through the tunnel with caution as it is boarded up except for one small opening.
Great trail! Very flat so good for biking, not as much for hiking more of a walk. The tunnel is really neat but super dark in the middle. Bit spooky if alone. Dog friendly!

Rainy day, so we decided not to spend too much time here, but the place reeks of history and striving to build with technology that would be considered primitive in today's times. On a previous visit, my son and In and another father son pair walked through the tunnel. Recommend it!

My son has been working on a Maryland history project where he has to take pictures of himself at multiple historical sites in Maryland. We were in Western Maryland and stopped at the tunnel. There is a significant amount of construction going on there right now. There is a detour near the Towpath but you can go through the tunnel. The tunnel is boarded up except for one small opening for a door. Make sure you bring a flashlight because it is especially dark with the openings being boarded. This is a great site for the history of the C&O canal. Take some time to look at the significance of it before you arrive

We did a short hike here during the weekday. The site is under construction, but we were able to park easily and walk up to the tunnel. Because of the construction we had to turn back at the end of the tunnel. A few notes to expect: Inside the tunnel is 15 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. Once inside the tunnel it gets dark. We were the only ones there as it was a weekday and we had to use our phone flashlight to see. We then hiked around the area and there are some stunning views of the river if you go up and around the tunnel. Overall, fun place to check out.

Easy walk to a super cool place. The end of the tunnel is beautiful! There were also little newts in the water. Absolutely recommend stopping

Fun family activity. My recommendation is to park in the lot designated for the tunnel and not go to the area up the mountain where you can hike down. If you park in the lot by the canal, it is an easy walk to the tunnel. As a family, we choose to walk through without any light assistance so the kids could experience the total darkness. They loved it! On the way back some other groups had flashlights and were shining them directly in our faces, so just to be aware of that if you do take a flashlight and come upon others. It is out of the way, and a neat experience that we are all going to remember for a long time.

Waze takes you past it and up to a farm that is private land you will see a sign off on the main road and it's a little hidden turn. Also the area is under construction so a lot of the trails were blocked off.
Jrow Strother — Google review
Easy parking lot and hike to the tunnel. It does drip at the entrance so wear a hat to avoid getting wet (I dislike the feeling). It's pretty safe for older kids and adults but the railing wouldn't contain a small kid from falling it. Lots of people on bikes as well and there is a detour to get all the way around since one end is currently closed for repairs.

We can imagine the history of ancient boat travel on this ancient canal, and more importantly, the builder of this canal. They use their hand to dig the tunnel, to dig the canal river, and which convenient for boat to travel. Be respectful.

This is the first time in three years we visited that the tunnel was open for walkers. Great walk with the family, kids love walking through the tunnel with the flashlights. The front opening was closed, I believe because of construction, but we were still allowed to walkthrough.
Bring flashlights, suggest flashlight per person

I was under the impression that the tunnel was closed and was pleasantly surprised to discover yesterday that it is now open. We walked the length of the tunnel. The path has been restored, the railing is stable and we were able to enjoy a worry free walk in a pretty dark space.

Parts of the area are under construction but they have kept the tunnel open. It looks much shorter than it actually is when you enter. At one point, we thought we were half way through when in actuality, we were only about quarter of the way. It stays cool inside, so it is great for a hot Summer afternoon.

I walked along the Hill Trail and did not go through the tunnel since it looked like construction was going on. The Hill Trail has some beautiful views! I decided to take first left onto the Hill Trail...fyi...that is one sketchy sinking bridge! And my feet got a little wet. 😂

Definitely worth the visit. Hard to believe that this was built back in the mid 1800s. Over 3,000 feet long through solid rock. Easy walk. Bring a good flashlight you'll need it. Tunnel entrance on one end under construction due to past rock slide. Supposedly will be finished by the fall of 2023

Cacapon Resort State Park is a picturesque destination offering a variety of activities for all ages. The park features hiking trails, a swimming lake, and a golf course, as well as nature programs led by knowledgeable naturalists. Visitors can stay in the lodge or cozy cabins equipped with modern amenities and surrounded by stunning views. The on-site restaurant serves delicious breakfasts and pizzas, while outdoor cooking facilities are also available near the beach.
From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost care, everyone on property is polite, smiling and engaging. The grounds and the facility are gorgeous, well thought out and lovely. The two plus days we were here all the staff members we came across not only remembered us but always treated us like close friends. Five stars all around

Went to a wedding at the gazebo near the Nature Center. The location was wonderful. So much to do and not enough time! Stayed at The Old Inn with 6 families and we loved it! So much room. Very comfortable rooms, good air conditioning, great kitchen and many spaces indoors and outside for gathering. Highly recommend!

I have to say that this was a very enjoyable weekend getaway for my wife and I. We booked a lodge room, it was.in the older part but was very nicely kept and comfortable, albeit a bit small and lacking a microwave. The staff and the service we received here was definitely top notch, the restaurant was great and the food was very good. The legacy lounge was a nice place to stop for a drink, and had some good drink specials. The outdoor seating area and outdoor fireplace were nice, but the weather didn't cooperate on our second day. The only disappointing part was the game room, literally nothing worked, but the space it occupied was very nice and the entire resort was very clean.

Great Great State Park with so much to do!! The new construction just made it even better. Friendly staff, wonderful lakes, golf course, horseback riding , and hiking trails. Love the new restaurant, very helpful and pleasant staff. All around great place to go!!

I could've spent a few days here, such a beautiful place. The view from the top was breathtaking and worth the bumpy ride up there. The beach area, the benches, fishing spots, and picnic tables around the water we're perfect. They have horseback riding, clay shooting, lots of trails, and a beautiful lodge. Highly recommend.

It is a beautiful park with a newly built lodge. Highly recommend driving up to the Cacapon Mountain overlook. It's rough...mostly on gravel road, but worth the drive! Breathtakingly beautiful! We loved the Ridge Trail, too.

We stayed in one of the cabins - it was excellent! The indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit were fantastic! The beds were comfortable and the cabins were warm. The cabin kitchens were well equipped for a weekend of cooking meals for a group of people. We enjoyed a long hike as well as a few short strolls through the park. The pool was delightfully warm even though the hot tub was closed during our stay.
We were concerned about a worker at the pool who seemed to poke his head into the ladies restroom and locker room before knocking several times while we were there. It seemed like he was trying to peep on women who were changing. (Minus 1 star)

Rooms were nice, view of the mountain also nice. Staff friendly. Do not use the restaurant! I’m sure not everyone will have the same experience as we did but and to make a long story short we ended up walking out on our restaurant bill. We waited to talk to the manager but even that was a hassle. We finally went to the manager of the hotel and told him what had happened. He was very helpful and took care of everything.

We have really fell in love this park!! We stay in the cabins when we go and they are newly renovated and very nice. On top of that, the lodge is huge and newly renovated as well! There is a ton to do including hiking, beach, playgrounds, a bunch of different mountain biking trails, indoor pool, nature center, tons of activities planned everyday, and an amazing overlook where you can see 4 states!

Went with a group of family members, and we all absolutely loved it! We had 3 rooms at the lodge (2 in south & 1 in north lodge), all were very clean with great views! Did a lot of hiking! Our favorite trail was the Ziler trail, took some stamina! Cooked out near the beach. Hiked up to the fishing lake (which is beautiful) every morning. We had great reception even while hiking (gps came in handy when we got off course!) The restaurant has really great breakfasts, and we liked the pizza too! And, of course enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the campfire in the evening! We will definitely be back!!

The park grounds are great as one would expect for a large state park. The new lodge is nice although overpriced for what it is. We were here for a NICA race so we camped. We rode a bunch of the trails the day before they setup the race course and a few of the trails are great rides. The skills park was very nice. We did drive up to the top of the mountain and highly recommend if you go. The road up however is rough to say the least. If you are in a car with little ground clearance you may want to not make the trip up. We camped in the parking lot for the swimming lake that is open for swimming through the summer. The few downsides I will mention is that the swimming bath house that was opened for all of us that camped was pretty filthy with very little working lights. With all the money they have spent at the lodge they should have spent some of it improving the bath houses around the park. Don't let that discourage you though since I don't think they allow overnight camping here normally anyway. We will be back next year for the next race and will still camp here but will be prepared for it better.

My family and I vacationed in Cacapon Resort and State Park and had such a great time. We stayed in a cabin not too far from the lodge. It had four rooms consisting of two rooms with queen sized beds and two rooms with two twin beds, making it a comfortable stay. Our cabin also had a kitchen, bathroom, large living room, a fire pit, grill, and two picnic tables. There were so many great activities happening around the park for ALL ages. We took advantage of nature walks, the Irish road bowling (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!), geocaching, paddle boating, and more. Dale was our guide for most activities and he was fantastic! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We came here with two small children and had so much fun! If I had to have one complaint is that the food in the lounge isn't very good. You'll have more fun bringing and cooking your own in your cabin or on a campfire!

We really enjoyed this park and the experience. The cabin we rented from the park was clean and very well furnished (table, chairs, beds, stove, refrigerator, microwave) for our use. The woods were beautiful. For me, the trails were a bit difficult but not unexpected in the hilly territory.

Some nice hiking trails near the lodge. View of the lake are pretty. The forest has a lot of moss and rocks making it unique in a West Virginia sort of way. Food at the lodge was OK; but the fact the bar closed at 9pm ruined everything

We were here for a bike race. Stayed at a small cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4. Small, but all the amenities we needed for the weekend. There is a loft, but the beds are VERY small. Would work for a child, but I would have felt more comfortable if the ladder going up there had hand holds.

Hagerstown City Park is a longstanding recreational area that boasts various features such as an art museum, shaded picnic zones, and a kids' splash pad. The park also houses a beautiful fountain and a vast pond where visitors can observe geese and fish swimming. Additionally, the park provides benches and tables for people to sit on or enjoy meals with their families. Children will find the playground entertaining as they run around playing.
Went to enjoy THE Christmas Lights and Music. Free Of Charge. Nicely done.
Too many Canadian Geese & Ducks thou. The city should look into monitoring the amount of fowl using appropriate game management or wildlife groups. But very enjoyable to walk through with family and friends. CHRISTMAS Music and Lights are very nice for a small town park. 👏🏼

Such a cute and nice area to walk around! Lots to see and explore both fun wise and history wise.
There are ponds/streams with ducks, fish, and geese. Lots of Squirrels as well.
Multiple parks and walkways, a museum and such as well. Such a pretty and well kept park to go to with or without kids. It was quiet when we went too.
I definitely recommended even for a picnic or short walk to get out of the house!

A beautiful Maryland park. It is full of outdoor fun, including walking trails, playgrounds, picnic tables, benches, shady areas, lush with trees, a variety of waterfowl, fish, ponds, lakes, and more. By far my favorite park to go to when your looking for something free to do for your weekend they have a tone of different playgrounds for your kids to play the bathroom are kept pretty clean and when the concession stand is open their food is pretty good to! Also if you play Pokémon go there is definitely a tone to do on the game here!

They have benches and table to seat on or bring some food enjoy with your family. They also have a playground that kids would love to play and run around. Its beautiful here to unwind from busy work and take a walk and breath and enjoy the beauty of nature.

I love the inclusivity at this location with equipment for ALL. Between the walkways, gardens, pond, wildlife, bathrooms -- we are SO glad we stopped on an 11hr road trip so our kids could play/stretch it out here, it was worth being a bit off the drive. Wish more of our NC parks looked like this one!! Loved all the shelters and grilling sites spread out as well.

Large pond, several playgrounds, ducks to watch, and feed and even large carp. There is duck and fish food sold at the concession building along with snacks and drinks. Several pavilions and picnic areas, a large stage for concerts, plays, etc. There is an Art museum as well as the Hager House beside the large pond.
Several parking lost at each end of the park and street parking along the length. Very great location with beautiful scenery for photos of many different kinds including great opportunities for nature photographs also. As of Jan 2023 the park asks patrons to vacate at dark. Park is clean for the most part and park staff are ever present.

It was an expected gem to come across. The Lake was teaming with fish. The geese were somewhat friendly, which is shocking due to the crankiness of the ones around Pittsburgh.the sculptures were interesting. I definitely will come back to explore some more.

It is a gorgeous park with a beautiful fountain, with the floating wild geese. I have never seen so many geese at once. Lol! The trail along side of the lake was short but beautiful! The picnic table was a bonus. Highly recommen it! 👍

They have been updating and upgrading the park over the past couple of years, and it is starting to be a very nice place to spend the day with the kids while staying close to home. Nice scenic walk along the water crossing through the two playgrounds for the kids. The actual rest rooms are usually locked, but they have Porta potty out front. The ducks and other birds will all approach you, hoping that you have food.

This place is MAGICAL! This has got to be my new favorite park. Beautiful, mature trees everywhere. There's a huge lake with koi fish and several types of ducks and swans. There is a museum featuring fine art and another featuring trains. This is the perfect spot for a picnic, a scenic walk or to take the children to play on one of the playgrounds. I'll definitely be back soon.

A lovely place to walk, picnic and play situated in the middle of town. Paved paths are easy to walk, leading to picturesque bridges. Benches are scattered throughout the park. It is also easy to find picnic tables. The park is clean but keep an eye out for goose droppings! There are several parking lots and two playgrounds. The Museum of Art is located within the park. It is a beautiful building. Guides are friendly, helpful. No admittance or parking fees. We will return to see the landscape in bloom.

Not many parks like this on the east coast, full of older trees with lots of shade and places to sit and enjoy the view. The lake is full of fish, ducks and geese. There are playgrounds for the children, as well as many quiet spots. The picturesque landscaping can serve as a backdrop for excellent photography. The park has several pavilions that you can rent for family events.
I love the location and I love the outlets. I totally enjoy driving out here from Washington DC every so often just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to get out into the mountains where things are slower and the people are friendlier and for the nice scenery. Some of the outlets are kind of expensive but some of them are relatively cheap. A particularly like Kirkland's is they have a lot of really nice Christmas merchandise for very good prices. They have a bath and body works store, a Levi's store, and under armor store, a casual men's big and tall store, and quite a bit more. I was extremely impressed with the food court. We got the Chinese takeout and it was delicious! We've been several buffets over the last couple months that haven't been half as good as this food. The broccoli was tender and delicious, the orange chicken I had was great, the food that the other members of my party had was fantastic, and we all finished all of our food and were satisfied. The bathrooms are clean and the people are friendly. We will definitely return.
Chris Macola — Google review
The outlets are showing their age and look run down and dirty. Many stores have left and the options to shop are abysmal at best. One of the best stops is the North Face Outlet as it’s one of the few in the region. Outside of that you might find better shopping by driving to Clarksburg for a full experience of stores and a modern updated clean facility.
Justin Adams — Google review
Oh how the mighty have fallen! Strolling past the many closed, vacant, and shuttered storefronts makes one wonder how much longer this once popular shopping destination can survive. The one store I wanted to shop in was locked during normal business hours with employees inside and a makeshift sign advising customers to retun later. No thank you. This seemed to symbolize this stores inevitable surrender to its dire circumstances and sealed for me my decision that I saw no reason to return to Hagerstown Premium Outlets in future.

This outlet center has unfortunately fallen on some tough times with 50% or more of the stores being vacant. There is now a thrift store here so the name Premium Outlets hardly fits. If you live close, there are still some big name staples, but I wouldn't travel far to go to just this center.

Came last week. Most stores were gone. Playground was closed. Ride animals all turned off and stole my quarters. If you are going to unplug rides, put up a sign so kids are not disappointed. Came for Carter's and furniture store, otherwise a ghost town. Would consider coming back, but will avoid because have to deal with disappointed kids when they cannot use perfectly good playground right in front of their face. Same with rides. Most playgrounds never shut down for covid and you can go mask free on plane as of today! So why after long car ride kids cannot use the playground here? If playground was open it would be perfect place to shop with kids, now it's opposite. Yes, little things like this do keep shoppers away and make them pick elsewhere.

Stores are clean and nice. Layout is good. I would recommend eating before or after shopping, the dining area doesn’t have great options but the stores are good. Usually sales and many stores accept military discounts. You never know what you might find

I love the this outlet because it’s never crowded!! I get to take my time shopping and not bump into people or be hustled around. However with that being said, It is very bare of an outlet, so it’s slim pickings. A lot of businesses have closed down so there are a bunch of empty spots. But it also leaves room for a lot of small businesses to take advantage of the empty spots. I was in a thrift store and they offered 75% off their merchandise because they are moving to a bigger location within the outlet. I mainly come here because they have an amazing coffee shop within the food court, JPmino. Otherwise I occasionally purchase shoes here for they are so much cheaper than out regular stores or online.

This place used to be great but as of late it’s just blah.. Honestly if you wanna shop hassle free with no crowds and plenty of parking this is your place. Make sure you eat ahead of time because the food court is sketchy half the places are closed and the other half just looks dirty. Only reason I’d make the drive up is to go to The North Face store..

Its a nice shopping center, there's different kind of branded store and even thrift store and many more. Plenty of parking space. I just noticed that some stores are closed, maybe because of the pandemic. So sad but I'm sure some stores struggle to keep up the sales.

Upside:
Lots of parking, wide walkways
Not the upside:
Most of the stores that seem to stay here are the ones that need absolutely no advertising - and that people specifically drive for- not the kind of outlet to really browse- you know of one store, park near that one, and move along knowing there isn’t much there- North Face and Eddie Bauer are the only ones that really grab our attention due to interest - and frankly we can order online and not have the hassle off the drive. Feels like a relic of the past but not one you drive to- you have to have a “reason.”- I come a couple times a year. Even during the busiest season it doesn’t feel busy.
Emily Yardley — Google review
Huge selection of stores. Only knock "may" be that you are better served driving to each section or specific store so as to not have to walk distances between store groupings. But would certainly not deter anyone from goin as I do enjoy shopping here.
Christopher Pullen — Google review
Regardless of some shops closing before and some during pandemic, the property manager needs to give a care about Hagerstown; it’s just as great and if not better than Clarksburg or Gaithersburg. I still shop here. Put care back into the community and many, many people will shop. The space is here and the parking space can hold bus loads. Fix the property and the finances will flow. Stay invested don’t bail. You’ll see.

Honestly not a great outlet mall. I stopped here with my mom as a brief stop on a road trip and while she found what she wanted at a couple stores, most of what I saw was a few underwhelming stores, some nicer stores outside my Interests and a lot of empty retail spaces. It is certainly large but decollate.

What a fantastic venue to see a concert. The 1500 seat theater is a great size for a more intimate experience with the band. We just saw Chicago here on Friday and we're absolutely blown away. No long waiting in line in the cold. We were able to come inside and enjoy a drink in their large downstairs and upstairs lobby areas. The staff was both helpful and courteous. We will be keeping an eye on their schedule to see about any other concerts, plays, or events. Definitely consider checking this out.

Attended Pat Benatar concert. Enjoyed the concert. The sound in the auditorium was excellent. Can't really imagine that there is a bad seat. I believe that it seats about 1500 people. Free parking was adjacent and directly across the street. Only complaints were....the lobby level restroom (men's anyway) was small. The local convenience store restroom is bigger. At an intermission, this is somewhat of a problem. Can't speak to the women's restroom situation. Also, beverages were only available to be purchased on the upper level.

I went here to see the band CHICHAGO, there wasn't a bad seat in this place! After having a stroke some years back seating and steps can be an issue, that was Not case here! I go to a lot of concerts and this place is by far the most handicap and staff friendly During the brief intermission I had to take a heart medicine and line was so long, so i went up and asked the young girl if i could just get a cup that I could get water from the bathroom in order to keep the line moving... i offered to pay for a cup as i didn't want to get her into trouble, instead she gave me soda coke and said don't worry about it honey ! That I will never forget! Given the opportunity to attend another event here I most definitely will! So if you get the chance to attend any event here take it! I think there's a Christmas play coming up I'd like to look into!

Was here for the first time to see a concert. Very nice venue and located on the campus of Shippensburg. I will get straight to some points on this place. Parking, very easy to get to and to get parked. The negative of the parking lot was people in general not parking correctly, which messes the whole part of exiting the parking lot a little bit of a mess. The lot is clearly marked with arrows, which shows you the direction you are to go in and to pull forward into. The second point of interest would be that the venue was well cooled inside and did not feel stuffy at all. On a very warm day and in jeans, I never got hot. Lastly, if you're looking to buy a beer here, it will cost 6 dollars for a 12oz and they do except cash or card. Side note, parking was free.

Stopped in for some celtic music on a beautiful afternoon. I liked the variety of herbs in the garden, and how it was laid out. The pond was nicely tucked in there too, but everything was a bit dry around the garden (like most places around here right now). We really enjoyed walking around, enjoying the smells, and listening to the bands play. The volunteers were friendly and even sold us on upcoming events. Overall loved the place, the staff, the atmosphere, and the bands that played

Nice series of walks, plenty of trail maps available, but some of the trails were really well marked while others were not, so it was confusing in places. Only area we saw rattlesnakes while visiting the area. They were sunning themselves and, fortunately for our dog, not aggressive since she was oblivious and walked over both on the trail. (Photo with zoom--we gave them wide berth after spring them, both because they were rattlers and because they are protected). Interesting info on the mansion at the top.

There are many great events held by the mansion. We enjoy hiking all the different trails at King's Gap. The mansion itself has rentable rooms and amazing views. The Environment education building has great staff that host many programs.

On Monday April 2nd I visited the Center. The staff were helpful when I asked about identifying common bird species. (They have a bird feeder on the front deck.) There are great views, though the weather was cool.

It was beautiful. The views from the mansion balcony are stunning! We definetly plan to go back and tour once the mansion opens. They have some of everything, flowers, herb 🌿 gardens, and walking trails. Dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed and you must clean up after them. They also have some concerts and a host of activities planned for the summer that seem exciting and are for every member of your family.

Update. It's a perfect place for bird watching on a rainy day, hikes in the woods, and just being out in nature to de-stress. Staff is extremely friendly, caring, and answers all questions. Great place to learn about nature.
Great place for everyone. Great place to go walking/hiking to get out in nature.

This 923-acre historic park features trails, Holman Lake, a grist mill & Blue Ball Tavern Museum.
My husband and I visited Little Buffalo to enjoy a little fall color (turned out to be a LOT of fall color!) and were pleasantly surprised at all the park had to offer! Lots of beautiful hiking trails with plenty of signage, clean facilities, plenty of parking and family friendly attractions. We will definitely be back!

Great place for a adventure. Especially love the pool(when it's open) and the Christmas lights event. We were frustrated with the pool hours and availability this past year but hopefully they will be more prepared with staff this year. We paid the fee for just the splash pad and baby pool only, but it honestly felt like a rip off. Be advised they are very strict about bringing any food into the pool too which is unlike anything I've seen at other local pools. Makes it incredibly hard for a family, when you have to move everything at lunch and move again back into the pool. I'd pay a little more to be able to bring a pizza in and some drinks/ snacks for the kids.

What a beautiful place 😍. Went to the park a little later than usual. But what a spectacular place it is. Snapped a couple of pictures of the beauty of the lake. Went on a little hike through the forest. And wow !!! How beautiful this place is. Got to see the covered bridge and caboose on the grounds. Went up a long flight of stairs to view the lake. Gorgeous 🥰. But I will definitely be back to take in all of its beauty.

We camped at Little Buffalo SP campground in Sept 2021 in site 40. It had room for our tent, was nicely separate from other sites, had good cell service and was just a short walk to the bath house which was new and very clean. This is the smallest SP campground we have visited, yet was very nice, and clean. We saw 2 other sites (23 & 33) which would also be very doable for us. One plus, while 40 was not an electric site, it did have an outlet there for our air mattress, and lights could also be used if we had any. Only downside, no real good trees for hammocks. The DCNR Rangers came around every 2 hours it seemed, and were extremely friendly. I think a team of 5 guys came to clean the bathhouse. A rooster could be heard, not sure where he was from. I would say the park (which we hiked to one day, drove to to start a hike the next) is exceptional. We really enjoyed the hiking trails with nice sights along the way. There is a really nice lake (we were a week too late for boat rental), a big pool, and many spots for day trip picnics/cookouts around the park. The campground has 3 walk-in sites. They are a long way in, but once you get there they are huge, flat, shaded and well separated from each other. Definitely will return.

I attended The Wild Women Retreat as my first experience at Little Buffalo, and I can't to return with my kiddos. I keep hearing the pool is really nice. My experience included kayaking lessons and a nature hike through the woods. The lessons were thorough and well-done, and I feel like if I had to kayak, I could do it now. We even saw bald eagles and turtles on the lake during the class. I definitely want to come back to this hidden gem!

This park is a treasure for the area. The playgrounds are really cool - log style, and always nicely maintained. There is a lake for boating (small, no gas engines allowed I don't think), their lagoon style pool is amazing! Though it can get crowded on the weekends with people coming out from the Harrisburg area.
I also really enjoyed the camping area, though some sites are a bit exposed, be careful to pick one that's more shaded if you're in a tent in the summertime.

The Gettysburg Museum of History is a fascinating place where visitors can explore the history of America's wars. The museum has more than 4,000 artifacts covering events from the American Revolution to modern times, and there are several exhibits to check out. Admission is free, and there is a gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs to take home with you.
Awesome museum with so many cool historical items! A LOT bigger than it looks on the outside

This place is super cool! Tons and tons of interesting and authentic items, mostly focused on war history, but with some cool Us Presidents items as well.
There’s a lot of stuff in a small place, so you have to look closely to see everything.
Some of the items are pretty gruesome, but tell an interesting story of history.

Tucked in and easily missed, if you're not careful! This is a locally owned gem of a museum where one can purchase artifacts within! Starting as a boy and receiving other neighbors' collections of Civil War items; this expanded into a variety of collectibles from many eras and walks of life. Strongly recommended as must visits.

Saw the great reviews and decided to visit as I have a couple of hours to burn.
Not sure what to make out of it. It is rather small and crammed. I will not say I gained much real knowledge from my visit.
Wanted to buy some souvenirs from the gift shop. They do not come with boxes for the cups / glasses I was eyeing to bring back but was told they only provide plastic bags. Decided to just get one cup as I’m not sure if the items can survive the long haul back home.

So much packed into her and a lot of stuff is for sale. They have as seen on tv signs here. I guess the American picker guys have been here . They also have a small gift shop located in the back. Definitely recommend this place. Kids may find some stuff cool. Would definitely recommend going without kids so you can really take it all in. They have so much to see and read about. It is an absolute shame how this man runs this place! He accepted special treasured war memorials from family members of World War II veterans. Now he is only open on weekends. His Internet site said he's only closed on Tuesdays. I'm a big fan of the History Traveler and made a special trip to see this place. I show up on a Wednesday and a sign says they're closed and only open on weekends. A UPS truck pulls up and a woman opens the door. I told her I drove up special from Florida to see the museum and she could not have shut the door fast enough and told me we're closed.
I can't believe he accepted war treasures from The Band of Brothers members under these circumstances. It's my way of paying my respects as I go to each Museum to honor what the greatest generation has done. I was also prepared to make a large donation to the museum.
I would think the wifes and children of these war heroes would want their veterans treasures back to go to a museum that would display them at least 6 days a week.
I also can't believe the YouTube history Travelers series now attaches themselves to this third class Museum.

We drove up from York to see the museum and at first the kids weren't interested in going but once there they were enthralled with all to look at . Incredible pieces of history from various time periods, mainly the Civil War and WWII eras. There is also a room entirely dedicated to JFK and a corner with Lee Harvey Oswald.
Recommend to dedicate 45-90 minutes to read most displays and look at just about everything. My fiancé and I spent about 75min total, with about 15min looking to purchase a relic by the front desk. Staff was also very friendly. Free to public. Make a donation to support operations as they are not funded by federal or state.

Literally one of the coolest museums I have been too. Even got to see the owner Eric Dorr but i think he was irritated he got called in by someone and so i didn’t want to bug him, but there are things here you’ll see nowhere else. You can even buy artifacts. If you like the store, you can also follow History Traveler on YouTube that features the shop frequently.

I thought the place was extremely neat overall. The reason for the missing star is that I was denied service on something. As a collector of these sort of items, I was thrilled to see a sign saying that some of what was on display was for sale. When I asked about it, I was told that nothing on display was for sale and i would have to check the website. Maybe I'm confused, but if I was denied service because of my youth, I'm quite upset. To provide some context, im a month short of 18. Anyhow, besides the customer service, I think it was a neat museum with tons of cool stuff to check out.
Edit: I feel it's quite evident I wasn't allowed to purchase merchandise because of my young appearance. I checked the website, and most of the stuff on display was for sale there. I can say that although the stuff is unbelievably cool, they lost a customer. I would've most definitely purchased from them, but basing who you are and arnet willing to at least show around based on age is downright crude.

We really enjoyed the Gettysburg museum and surrounding exhibits. After going through the indoor museum and exhibits, make sure to take some walks and do the entire driving tour. The Gettysburg National Cemetery in Pennsylvania is a historical landmark that serves as a memorial to the Union soldiers who lost their lives during the American Civil War. It was established in 1863 and features the resting place of 3,512 brave soldiers. The cemetery is open daily for visitors to pay homage to these fallen heroes and appreciate its beautiful grounds. Additionally, it serves as an important reminder of our nation's past and represents a significant piece of national history.
I loved seeing the battle field's to sit and think of what happened here. To see our own fighting against our own for a better life for all.
Both sides had their reasons. Both sides understood the cost. Now, we live in a world where no one understands the cost of freedom.
Now, everyone looks the other way and forgets.
I served in 2-2 Infantry for 10 years. A lot of the pictures are of 2-2 Infantry.
Dedicated to my fallen brothers.

Our motel was close too here. We walked it ourselves in a self guided tour. Lots of status and plaques too read. So many people died it really gives you more of a perspective on the sacrifices that were made. I couldn't believe all the graves marked unknown. You can easily walk through here in under two hours. So many rabbits were running around and were not even scared of us as we approached. If you have small children they will definitely be bored walking through here. Part of the cemetery was closed and blocked off so we were unable too walk it.

I was there in June and stayed at a hotel right across the street from it. I walked around and paid my respects to various soldiers both from the union and from the confederate side. The experience at Gettysburg was a solemn venture. It is a free self-guide tour, or if you want a more detailed experience, there are available tour guides in the area. Our family choose the self guided exploration of the grounds. It was an honor to walk among the beautiful landscape, immaculate stones, and to see the craftsmanship of the monuments here. There is a bit of walking, so make sure to bring some water or even a snack. The park can be fully explored in few hours. There was a parking lot adjacent to the park that had adequate parking. There is also a museum on the grounds, but it was not open when we visited here. What a great source of American history for the family! A must see if you’re traveling in the area!

Although there are many monuments, there are none that clearly identify where exactly Lincoln gave his timeless Gettysburg Address. Who would no since there are no pictures or vids? No matter! If you listen closely, you can almost hear the speech whispering in the wind. Walking among the graves of fine soldiers is a solemn and humbling experience. I’m honored to have visited. I highly recommend going and giving your children a somber learning experience.

We went on a Sunday morning, which was perfect. We were the only people there. The quiet added to the stillness and solemn nature of the location. The monuments are magnificent. The sheer number of grave markers is daunting. Parking is easy, across the street, which is cool, as it keeps the cemetery quieter.

Jennie Wade House is a museum dedicated to civilian casualty Jennie Wade. It exhibits items related to domestic wartime life and contains information about the first and only civilian casualty of the Battle of Gettysburg.
Our tour guide Allison was amazing! She was kind, very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and spirits in the Jennie Wade house! You can tell she truly loves and is passionate about the Jennie Wade house and Gettysburg! What also makes Allison our tour guide special is she is retired from the Air Force. Thank you Allison for your service!!
If you go to Gettysburg we highly recommend the Jennie Wade House! I did feel some kind of energy in the house. When we came out of the basement at the end of the tour a few of us smelled rosemary coming from the basement. I think I might of also captured a spirit in one of the many photos I took. I think it is the shadow man that Allison said hangs around this particular spot in the photo.

Historically Jenny Wade is known as the only Civilian killed in the three days Battle of Gettysburg.
At twenty years old, baking bread for the Union soldiers, would prove to be fatal.
The small home is incredibly still in tact and battle worn, with evident bullet holes and bullets lodged into the frame in which they've sat for the past century and a half.
It is surreal to stand within the walls of the home and be told the events that had unfolded here.
In all of the homes that I visited in Gettysburg, I think it was here in the Jenny Wade home that I was able to envision the battle from a civilian perspective the best and how horrific that side of the battle must have been, as well.
Great tour, fair price, and friendly staff. A must stop location while trying to experience and understand the battle from all perspectives.
My only dislike regarding the property is how commercialized the surrounding area has became. The home, is easily bypassed, sitting almost in the shadow of a rather looming hotel. While its easy to get lost in time from the inside, on the outside, the modernized surroundings makes it almost impossible to truly connect with the past.
Recommended, following up this tour with a stop at the local cemetery where you can locate fairly easily Jenny's grave.

We visited on Easter Sunday due to not observing the holiday. They were open from 12pm-3pm which was appreciated!
The workers were clad in time-appropriate fashions. The gift shop, upon entering, has so many neat nick-nacks and locally made crafts!
Jennie's sister's house was quite a sobering experience that I will forever appreciate the opportunity to have had.
Because I went early in the season, my family had a seven minute intro by a worker whom showed us the bullet holes, and then allowed us to tour the home on our own with the help of a detailed brochure.
As we walked through the house on our self-guided tour, it was almost a more personal experience than if a guide were to walk with us. We were able to be alone in the kitchen where Jennie leaned over her dough tray, selflessly making biscuits for union soldiers. We were able to see the hole where her poor family carried her body to the neighbors house a down into the cellar where her body rested until it was safe to bury.
This was a great place to stumble upon, and one that I was not aware of prior to planning my Gettysburg trip.
Make sure to visit the place where an innocent civilian lost her life as a result of the Battle of Gettysburg.

I have been to Gettysburg a hundred times and hadn’t been to the Jennie Wade house until this year. I stopped in on a Saturday in late October. I didn’t book ahead and I don’t even know if that’s an option. Arrived around 3 and was able to get in on the 4:15p tour. The house is between the graveyard and Reid’s Winery/Cidery. So if you have to wait, it’s easy to find something else to do in the meantime.
The guided part of the tour was quick - 10 min or so. The guide gave a description of Jennie and her family and what happened leading up to the house being fired on. It was interesting and I never knew the whole story. This wasn’t actually where Jennie lived - that house is down on Breckinridge street and is a private residence but I was told there are signs so you know you are at the right house if you want to see how far it was that she walked - it’s not very far. Anyway, after the short guided tour, you are just walk through on your own. There might have been 20 people total on this tour but it didn’t feel cramped or rushed.
There is an adjacent parking lot but that is for the hotel guests. I parked on the street which is metered and I had no trouble finding a spot. I paid around $2.50ish for 2 hours. There is a little gift shop attached to the house selling everything from Christmas ornaments to Jennie dolls, mugs and candy.
I paid $10 and change with a AAA discount for the tour.

This is a must stop if you know your history, but for a family of 4 it was $47 and the guide really didn’t share much before turning us loose. He talked about 5 minutes and it only took less than 10 minutes to see everything. That was disappointing. Now, that being said, if you knew about Jack Skelly and Wesley Culp, about the bullet ricochet on the mantle, the bed style being a rolling pin bed that passer comes off that allows you to “hit the hay” all of these small stories would have made it seem more like a value.

What an amazing experience this place is! The vast size of this battlefield is awe inspiring. Over 70,000 men lost their lives battling over a 24 acre piece of land, to either keep or do away with slavery. To learn and to actually be able to visualize how far a canon ball weighing 8 pounds could be launched a mile away with a canon two hundred years ago is truly incredible. The museum displays of the uniforms, handguns, rifles and various artifacts is extensive.
I enjoyed the bus tour with the tour guide.
It was interesting and fun to hear the narrative of the battle and learn about the little to unknown facts about the battle.
In order to experience the entire Gettysburg site, it is easily a two day trip.
For convenience, there is a small cafeteria in the main building. The new museum building was.built in 2008 and is very clean and modern. There is a good sized souvenir shop in the main building as well. There are also numerous nearby hotels, souvenir shops and restaurants in the City of Gettysburg.
For the history buff, this is a must see place to visit.

My wife needed a wheelchair and the staff were really helpful in getting her one and they helped at all the exhibit entrances. The cyclorama is completely different in a very good way from the use of lights, simulated cannon and gunfire and the narration of events. I went last time 25 years ago but this time they brought it to life.
When it gets close to 5 be ready to exit quickly and that includes the gift shop. The rest rooms are cordoned off too.
If you have a disabled member of your family take them to the drop off point with benches and then go to the disabled parking which is a 1/4 mile walk to the front entrance.

This is a really nice park, very educational, and very clean. The prices in the gift shops and restaurants are on the higher side, but that’s to be expected at a tourist trap. I downloaded one of the self-guided tours for my iPhone, and I have to say that it was one of the best things that I've done while visiting Gettysburg. The tour was extremely informative, and it's well laid out and worked well with my Google Maps, so I knew exactly where to go.

History lesson at its best. Recommend starting with Cyclorama & Narrated movie to help put all the pieces together. So much took place over the 3 days of the fighting, that it is so helpful to get the overview. There is an App for the battlefield tour that guides you along the way. Very effective. My significant other and I went here on vacation and it was wonderful. They have packages that are affordable, including a bus tour, and access to the museum. The park rangers do a lot of informative activities as well that are free. You could easily spend an entire day here between the tours (they have a self guided car version, an informative bus tour), the museum, and the additional activities run by the museum and parks department. The gift shop is beautiful, and reasonable as well. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and informative about what to take advantage of. I would visit here again if given the opportunity.

I would give it a 5 star but the cost to get in makes in inaccessible to many people. (Just over $20 as of Nov. 2023). The movie was a great summary of what led to the battle at Gettysburg and touched on the aftermath. It was better than I had expected.
The cyclorama was impressive when you learn that it is an actual oil painting from the turn of the century - and moved to Gettysburg in 1913. It went through a restoration and if you are a fan of history or art, this is a must see.

Great experience with the family. One of the rangers was amazing teaching our daughter more about Gettysburg. We enjoys the self guided tour (the app is free and has audio to go with the tour) and the monuments had great descriptions to them. Really felt Abraham Lincoln’s words while reading the Gettysburg address at the cemetery.

The best place to understand the history of United States 🇺🇸.
Is the only and unique opportunity to feel, learn and see the artifacts of the Civil War. This place is outstanding.
You can link the experience with other Histories places in PA and follow up the past, the present and the future. The museum has one of the biggest oil painting in the world which describes the reality of the battlefield of Gettysburg vs General Lee.
If you willing to learn our freedom and why was important the emancipation, go and visit this area.
Highly recommend: schedule a private tour for 3 hours and let the professional guide diving you to the past of the history.
Unforgettable experience.

Gettysburg National Military Park-
AMAZING!
I am a lover of American history and have visited many historical sights, memorials, and battlefields, Gettysburg is one of the best I have seen.
The number of monuments, markers, and displays not only in the museum but all around the battlefield is just incredible.
From the video in the visitor's center/ museum to the driving path, there is so much to see and learn.
We downloaded the National Parks app which has a link to a free audio-guided tour. Loved it!
I suggest- seeing the video, seeing the museum, driving the tour with the audio guide, and seeing the Gettysburg cemetery. See the spot where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address.

The Gettysburg Battlefield stands as a solemn testament to the courage and sacrifice of those who fought there. Walking through its hallowed grounds, one can't help but feel a profound sense of reverence for the thousands who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom. The meticulously preserved landscapes and monuments serve as poignant reminders of the brutality and heroism that unfolded during those fateful days in July 1863. Visiting Gettysburg is not merely a journey through history; it's a pilgrimage to honor the enduring legacy of those who fought and died for a cause greater than themselves.

I agree with that don't eat here because the prices are ridiculous and it's not run by the park service or anybody at the visitor center. It's like a third-party hired out café and the food is really bad quality.! The museum bookstore had an author signing, so we looked out and got a historical book for our son, author: William Styple signed! there's some snacks available there lots of historical books, lotta tchotchkes it seemed very commercialized like you can get a coffee mug with Gettysburg and Abraham Lincoln bubblehead lol. bus tours are $40 for adults. I can't remember the prices for kids and they have four of those that leave Daley. It looks like I'm not sure if it's going to change later in spring or summer hours and the visitor center is nice and the upkeep is nice, and the restrooms are clean. Very windy out on the battlefield. there is a tour where you sit in your car and watch a couple videos at various stop so you can get out and then there's the walking tour that takes about an hour and a half and then there's the bus tours that take about two hours..
My family recommends the auto & walking tours, download the app. Learning about an important war in our country, shouldn't be considered a Tour strap and shouldn't be so much money specially if people need chip jars so apparently they're not getting paid a living wage which is a whole other story but yes, recommend going to Gettysburg at least once in your life and it's quite educational if you download the free tour...

I visited on a Thursday morning. We were on our way home so had limited time. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We unfortunately did not have the time to go thru the museum. What I read indicates you need 4 hours. There is one hall that you can view for free. It consists of a lot of items that have been found on the battleground. It was very interesting. They have a map of the battleground park available however it is not very accurate. Google was very helpful finding the memorials we wanted to see. We look forward to coming back and spending more time. The park is well maintained and well labeled. There are a lot of options for how you tour the park. Self-guided, with a group and there are options for private guides. The heritage guides even dress up. You can use guides from the park itself and there are lots of companies that offer guides as well.
The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center is a renowned destination that features scenic trails and an indoor museum dedicated to the Civil War. In 2008, the center moved to a state-of-the-art facility costing $103 million, offering visitors an exceptional experience. The center offers informative movies and knowledgeable guides for students, making it an ideal location for history lovers of all ages.
Always love Gettysburg. Haven’t been here in a number if years. The visitor’s center is great and the overview movie very informative. Had a wonderful guide for our students. Very knowledgeable and gave plenty of information. So much to see and learn.

Fort Hunter Mansion and Park is an 18th-century estate that has been preserved for public viewing. The park features various period buildings, including a mansion, which can be toured by visitors. In addition to the historic structures, the park also offers walking trails for recreational activities such as jogging or hiking. Visitors can enjoy well-maintained gardens, playgrounds for children, and a covered bridge within the park's grounds.
My husband and I walked the grounds of this beautiful and well maintained park this past weekend, Aug. 2021. We were there before the buildings opened, but enjoyed the many informational signs and maps. We especially enjoyed the gardens and the covered bridge and saw many other people enjoying the park - walking, jogging, and kids playing on the playgrounds. The restrooms on the opposite side of the river were much cleaner and flush toilets, and the restrooms on the river side were port-a-potties and not as clean. We will definitely return another time and visit the buildings when they are open. Great park - add it to your list.

The park and walking trails are wonderful and well kept. Covered bridge, 1876 barn, picnicking and play areas but the jewel is the mansion. The 45 min tour was steeped in historical info and fun facts. Even about visitors, toys, and use of an Ouija board. The cantilevered staircase, clothing and furniture that has been preserved after use in the home is amazing. A county park that deserves much more recognition.

This is a large park near the riverfront. It has playgrounds, expansive laws, historical buildings, a mansion to tour, massive barn, historical buildings, informational placards to explore the history of the Fort. The lovely trees and gardens make for a peaceful setting. The park is beautifully maintained. Restrooms on site. Lots of free parking. The mansion has tours several times a day. Ideally it is best to buy tickets online. The tour lasts 45 minutes. The museum shop is sweet. The views of the river are nice. A perfect top north of Harrisburg.

Nestled along the picturesque Susquehanna River, Fort Hunter Mansion in Harrisburg offers visitors a delightful glimpse into the region's rich history. I recently had the pleasure of exploring this beautifully preserved mansion, and it proved to be a charming experience.
The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the mansion's stately presence, exuding a sense of elegance and grandeur. Stepping inside, I found myself transported to a bygone era. The guided tour provided a wealth of knowledge about the mansion's origins and its significance in Pennsylvania's history. The period furniture and decor further enhanced the immersive experience
The knowledgeable guide shared captivating stories and anecdotes about the mansion's previous inhabitants, painting a vivid picture of the lives they led. From the original Fort Hunter settlers to the wealthy families who called it home.

Beautiful place with a variety of seating options with wonderful river views - will suit singles, couples, and families. Look to the left - very long trains cross the bridge regularly! Really nice picnic facility. We did not go up to the mansion since we were only passing through. Nice parking area. Caution - be sure to take your hand sanitizer with you - no sinks in the "outhouse-style" facilities ... which are quite clean although extremely basic. Very nice park overall - definitely a good place for a picnic or a casual gathering.

Great spot to watch the river , there are a few swing bench seats looking over the river. History walk great for all ages, public bathrooms on both sides of the park , playground for children and swings for adults. Easy parking for using the capital greenbelt. This is a wonderful spot to picnic , or just take a lunch break if your near by.
All around it's front streets best kept secret.

Beautiful home to explore. The tour takes about an hour and costs $7 per person. The home sits on a beautiful park with several other buildings. At the end of the tour, they give you a map and some information about the rest of the property. I would have loved if the tour had continued on outdoors, but all-in-all, it was a great tour.

A great little park to come to with kids or just for a stroll. There is a beautiful scenic path following the river. Lovely views. They have swings along this path overlooking the river as well.
You can visit the mansion to learn some of the history of the area or walk around to see the other buildings also. The barn is quite impressive.
The park seems very well-maintained and cared for. The restrooms were immaculate when we used them and the lower restroom by the larger playground even had a changing table outside the building for easier access! I thought this was a brilliant idea!
There are two playgrounds for kiddos to play on. There is a smaller one up by the walking path and has views of the river on either side and then there is also a larger one with swings for all ages down by a small shelter house in the lower portion of the park. My daughters (1&3) have a great time playing here.
While definitely not a party for hiking, there are some decent areas for a small amount of walking. You could probably get around 2 miles or maybe more if you went around the entire park.
There are also multiple large grassy areas great for walking and crawling by the tiny humans. They can definitely burn some energy here!

One of the nicer ballparks I've been to. Food is typically overpriced but the Senators play a good game. Amazing hot dogs at The Spot, and okay beer selection. Pretzels as big as your head from the Arooga's on site! There were fireworks the Saturday I went, and they are always doing giveaways. I got a free ticket to Hersheypark when I went! An awesome place for a family getaway to see a game, and the pricing is super cheap, too!

They've made this into a pretty nice minor league baseball stadium over the years. Food options are a bit lacking IMO, but the beer selection was really good. Lots of local options (Troegs, Tattered Flag, Desperate Times, etc). I would suggest getting them draft as the kiosk selling craft cans is $$$ (even for an event). Now that we live in the area, I plan to attend quite a few. Not a bad seat in the stadium.
Shaun Steckley — Google review
Thursday craft beer promo was very unclear, and beer service areas have been reduced in favor of can grab-n-go stations. The can stations are awesome, but it results in unreasonably long draft beer lines that take entire innings of waiting. Otherwise a great place to catch a game before the mayflies take over!
Sam Krepps — Google review
Good experience here. Other than the Senators loosing the game. This is a pretty cool minor league stadium. How many can you find on a island in the middle of a river? It was wet nose Wednesday so got to see some cute pups as well. Tickets and parking are fairly priced and they even gave me a military discount. The big bobbleheads were cool. Leaving can be complicated, but I just sat and waited til traffic dispersed.

Lovely setting for a minor league stadium in the middle of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, with enthusiast employees and fans. Reasonably priced beverages and food. Clean restrooms and picnic areas. Special discounts are available making this is a great place to take the entire family.

Been to a few minor league parks in the northeast, this is at the top of the list. Gorgeous setting in the middle of the Susquehanna River on City Island across from Harrisburg allows for great views inside and outside the park. The field is well taken care of and some interesting dimensions in the outfield as well. No bad seats in the house and many different opportunities for food and alcohol. Definitely recommend this field as a destination!

The layout was so different to most MLB and minors parks. That said, it's a fantastic place to catch a game and tons to do for families. The concessions were limited but above average and the Spot Hot Dogs are currently my Top Dog in all of baseball.

Visiting the fnb field is always a great time. The parking lot is a walk to get over to the field itself and if it's overcrowded you do have to park across the bridge in the city however they have a walking bridge to get across. We love going to watch the senators and the firework nights are my family's favorite. They have food and beverages for purchase inside as well as a souvenir shop. Outside the field or from the top of the stands is a really nice view of the river!

Nice ball field. I like the history. But it could use some updates; more bathrooms, variety of food options, water bottle refill stations, and better parking. The merch shop was ok. Codorus State Park is a sprawling 3,490-acre park that offers numerous recreational activities for visitors. The park boasts of Lake Marburg, which provides ample opportunities for fishing and boating. Besides this, there are extensive trails for hiking and areas designated for hunting and camping. The park also has plenty of wildlife to observe and bird-watchers will have an excellent time exploring the area.
Codorus State Park is very big and is dominated by the lake. I have never fished here since I move to this area a year ago, but I intend to this summer. I am told by many that the fishing is good.
The ranger station has a wildlife display that I found very informative and interesting. There is also a public swimming pool that looks impressive and also a memorial to the U.S. Military that is good to visit.
On my first visit to the park I came within 200 feet of a Doe & buck that just hopped out of the woods. We stood staring each other down until my reaching for my camera spooked them away.

Gorgeous park! Beautiful views all over. We visited to play on the Disc Golf courses, and they were alot of fun! It was a really pretty park to explore, and the well spaced, very clean and well stocked bathrooms were a delightful surprise! I really enjoyed the Red course, fun wooded parts and some right by the water too. We will definitely be back to visit again.

This is one of our favorite parks to go. Love the boat ride there. You have to call before you go for boat reservation. Also good for a little picnic. The natural beauty is amazing. Lots of birds & ducks there. Very serine.

My family and I have really enjoyed all of our trips to codorus for summer time drive up camping. There is a lot to do with in the park, nice trails, and even some fishing spots. There is a fair amount of wild life for viewing and good bird watching as well.
It does get significantly crowded in the peak season and around the summer holidays, but overall rules are enforced and campers typically do not get rowdy. Like all campgrounds the experience depends on the site you pick. We are tenters so some visits were better than others due to site selection and neighbors. Definitely recommend the “roughing it” sites if you are a renter looking for a quiet more “authentic” experience.

The park is a very large and beautiful park with so many activities to do with yourself or family and friends. On this stay we rented a Yurt inside of the camp grounds. The Yurt was a neat experience, it's in between a tent and a cabin. Had a refrigerator, counter top stove and microwave. It also sleeps up to 5 people. Had an amazing time and will be back to stay again.

Great disc golf course, use Udisc to find your way around. Played the blue and red courses, both are fun in their own way. Only hole I didn't like was on the red course because it is basically an island in the middle of a parking lot. We played early right after Christmas so the lot was empty, which was good because I would have drilled a couple of cars otherwise. Would absolutely skip that hole on a busy day and would consider moving it since they had room elsewhere.

Beautiful park with nice hikes to and around the lake. Campsites are not particularly level, some are a little short for long campers. There are plenty of wheelchair accessible facilities and a pet loop at the campground.

I camped here for a night just the other day and it was very beautiful! I also did a lot of fishing and was able to catch lots of bass! It’s definitely a great spot to go fishing and the campsite was very clean when we got I got there. I would definitely recommend camping/fishing here!!

We stayed in tent only camping site near lake. Kids and family enjoy the camping and afternoon in water park. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to spend summer close to nature. It’s kids friendly camping site and lots to do and see.

This state park is really beautiful. The water is so clear. The day that I was there, it was extremely foggy out, making it difficult to see far across the lake. I plan to go back more times to fish and picnic with my wife.

Spent a weekend at Codorus State Park with my niece and her two kids. We could put up our tents on the land, rather than a pad, which was nice. Campsite was spacious enough that kids could play Frisbee and badminton. Bathhouse was clean enough. We found the playground on a short walk. We were in loop c. Didn't see the "fun police" as another reviewer claimed. Had a great time.

Stayed in site 88 and loved it. Very spacious. Friends and family were in surrounding sites, so we basically had the whole corner to ourselves. Flat and wide. Well shaded with tall trees, but little brambles and underbrush allowed plenty of space for tents. Bathhouse was well maintained and heated. Only stayed for a weekend and spent that time relaxing at camp (just the way I like it), so did not get to explore the rest of the park more unfortunately.

Great park with plenty to do. Tons of disc golf and water for the kids to play. Kayaking, boat rentals are avaliable.
Very beautiful park. I am upset they really don't have a good playground for the kids... or at least we couldn't find one.

Only visited the park office. Nice displays and helpful info. Nice people available to answer questions. The lake is beautiful. The campground was closed at the time of our visit, and that's what we were hoping to check out, but based on what we saw in general makes it very likely we will return.

Wife and I kayaked here yesterday. Absolutely gorgeous! There are a lot of places to put in at the lake. The water was nice and there was a breeze. I also did some fishing. If you use the right tackle, you could catch a good bit of fish. Fyi: Being that it is a big lake, it was a little choppy, so be prepared if you venture into the deeper parts. If you kayak the edges, you should have a smoother ride. This is definitely on our top spots to kayak and for me to fish. Highly recommend.
The Hershey Gardens is a large botanical garden and arboretum located in Hershey, PA. The gardens contain 23 acres of plants and flowers, including rare trees and a butterfly house. There is also a children's garden on site.
A slice of Heaven! The tulips and cherry blossoms and the peace one could find in this beautiful garden! Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the landscape! Not to forget the year-round Butterflies Atrium inside the Conservatory! Next visit: when the roses bloom! Thank you to the many people who work here and contribute to such a jewel of a garden!

Absolutely beautiful! We spent about an hour touring the grounds. Gorgeous rose gardens, unique trees, etc. There is a Children's Garden, which was super cute as well. We also went into the Butterfly Atrium 🦋 Butterfies are everywhere you can see. Be careful, as they do land on the ground and it would be easy to step on them. We loved it and would visit again!

Are you a rose garden lover? Or any garden lover? There is a hidden treasure right next to Hotel Hershey at the Hershey Gardens where they have more than 3k different rose varieties blooming all summer long. You will enjoy the beauty of these roses along with the rest of the garden. I personally went to see the roses as I am an avid rose gardener. However I loved the butterfly garden just as much. You can enjoy the butterflies eating from the fruits and flowers and landing on you.
Take a day off to enjoy these gardens. You will not regret it . June is over but they had a promotion that if your name was Rose you could go in free. My daughter went in free as her middle name is Rose. The entrance fee is not too much . Less than 20 dollars per person.

The gardens are very well-maintained. A lot of different flowers and plants to see. Also, the butterfly atrium which is in Hershey Gardens is very nice as well. A lot of effort was put into making this garden as pretty as possible and it's a nice place to go to leisurely walk around and relax.

Gardens were great! Wish there was a spot like this close to our home. Would be members and would love to visit often. Very large space to walk and explore. The gardens were beautiful and the setting was very enlightening and relaxing. The butterflies were fun to visit and great to see and interact in that habitat. Definitely recommend visiting when you’re in the Hershey area.

A must go if you have the time. The rose garden is stunning, I personally also loved the four seasons statues. An incredible eerie gem in the middle of beautiful gardens. There are plenty of shaded areas and benches/seats along the walk. Definitely come when the weather is nice, either way - umbrellas are provided as well. The butterfly garden is a must see as well.
There's a very cute spot for kids to play/learn. Plenty of parking.

I've been to several botanical gardens around the country and this one was one of the best I've found. The amazing collection of flowers and trees spread throughout the grounds is truly awe inspiring and well worth a trip. The grounds is large enough that even if there are others you don't even notice. Highly recommend!

We visited here on a Saturday for a girl scout event. It was very well organized. The workers were very kind and explained everything in a way that young girls could understand. Although it was early in the spring, there were plenty of things to see. The children's area is very fun. I would recommend, especially to families. The only thing I didn't love is the cost of entry.

I'm glad there was a discount right now cuz not much was blooming yet. I guess I should have guessed that since it's only March. But it is a lovely walk and the butterflies were awesome. Want to come back when more is blooming!

Had so much fun here. Such a zen environment and a great way to spend a beautiful sunny day. This is such a great way to relax and walk through the beautiful butterfly room or walk outside through what will soon be beautiful garden beds. Some trees are budding and blooming already. I highly recommend this relaxing place. The price is really good too and there is so much more to see than just the butterflies.

These beautiful gardens and conservatory are worth a visit indeed! Inside the conservatory you will see a glass roof with colored butterflies hanging from it. The butterfly atrium is worth a visit in itself. Not only will you see exotic butterflies, where they feed, and where they land but along you will see some exotic reptiles.
The outside gardens are a leisurely walk around the complex and are themed to different settings. No visit would be complete without stopping at the famous rose garden with different colored roses on display along with arches set up in the event of a wedding.
Check out the seasonal garden where you will now see pumpkins growing. There's an herbal garden, a children's garden, a Japanese garden, and so much more! Be sure to stop at the Native American garden and the rock garden. There's even a garden dedicated the Milton Hershey himself!
There are plenty of butterfly benches along the way for rest stops. Allow about 1 hour and 15 minutes for your visit. There are picnic garden in the area and a trail. This is a great place to relax and unwind!

Nice ballpark. The food was good and there was a nice variety of items. Love the funnel cake. The only reason I gave 4 stars was the parking... if you don't have a handicap plate or placard you must park in a lot a good distance away and you have to pay $6! They do have a shuttle bus that runs between the lot and the ballpark but that is annoying at the end of the game to wait for a ride to the lot.

Good times had. Great game to watch. Even have clean bathrooms! $3.50 for a bottle of Aquafina is a bit much. Buts definitely fun and surprisingly clean!
Hershey Park is an amusement park that features rides such as roller coasters and thrill rides for adults, family-friendly rides, and water attractions for kids. The park has a Boardwalk section that offers a water park with slides, waves pool and more.
My teenage daughter enjoy this place so much.
Pass wasn’t cheap, but worth it.
I was hoping the opening hours can be 9am instead of 11am.
Food inside the park was okay, parking was simple!
Will come back soon to enjoy the water park.
If they can open more ticketing booth, that’ll be great.

This was the best vacation I’ve had in a long time. So much to do in Hershey and I didn’t get to do it all but we still had a good time. We went to Hershey park and to chocolate world. Hershey park was really not expensive for the tickets. The food and amenities were expensive but it is an amusement park so that’s to be expected obviously. Altogether we had a great time. We went to the zoo which was by far one of the best and most intimate experiences I’ve had in a zoo. I wanted to go to Amish country but didn’t get the chance. I would recommend everyone to go at least once in their lifetimes because you get to see the history of how everything was made and created. I don’t think I will go again with the kids because we have already seen everything and not much changes up there however, I will take my wife back just to see Amish country. There are more adult things to do there and ways to enjoy yourself. I’ll be posting that review as soon as I’m able to get back up there.

Hersheypark is an excellent destination for families seeking an unforgettable amusement park experience. From thrilling rides to sweet attractions, it offers something for everyone. The park’s cleanliness and well-maintained facilities create a safe and enjoyable environment.
One highlight is the variety of rides available, catering to all age groups. The roller coasters provide exhilarating adventures, while the gentle attractions and kiddie rides keep the younger ones entertained. The water park section offers refreshing fun on hot days.
The staff at Hersheypark deserves commendation for their friendliness and helpfulness. They are readily available to assist with any inquiries or concerns, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit. Additionally, the park’s accessibility features make it accommodating for individuals with disabilities.
Food options are plentiful, with diverse menus and accommodating dietary preferences. However, be prepared for slightly higher prices, as expected in most theme parks.
Overall, Hersheypark offers an outstanding family experience with its thrilling rides, well-kept grounds, and friendly staff. It’s a must-visit destination for those seeking a memorable and enjoyable day out with loved ones.

This is one of the best amusement parks I have ever been to. We had so much fun, it's full of roller-coasters and after a whole day there we weren't able to ride them all (started to rain heavily). Also they have nice stores and great food options. And we really didn't have to wait that long to ride every time. I extremely recommend going there, and would definitely come back again.

What an awesome place! The weather was PERFECT! Being that I'm from Louisiana and have been experiencing Temps of over 100 degrees, the breezy and sunny weather here was welcoming! The park was very clean and wasn't overcrowded. The food was pretty good but the main favorite of my family was the thrilling roller coasters! If you're a thrill seeker, this place is for you! They have some really cool roller coaster rides! My teenage kids had so much fun riding all of the rides and even went to the Waterpark area and had a blast there too! The lines weren't too long and the entire trip was very pleasant. We will definitely be returning!

Fun for the whole family. My wife enjoyed the park even though she is 6 months pregnant because of zoo and water animal show. My kids loved the whole experience. Only down side many attractions were closed due to our late in the season visit. We did love all of the Halloween festivities though.

This was my first time visiting for the holiday season. It was very pretty but overally crowded in some of the attractions. We weren't able to see everything they had to offer because they closed so early, even on a Friday. Chocolate World was closed as well, and so we're most of the rides. It was a nice experience but I wouldn't come back during the holidays. I feel like it was too expensive for what it was.

Visited Hershey on a weekend! The place was not too crowded and was fun filled. We did the chocolate world tour, make your own candy bar.
My son loved both the attractions and found it pretty enjoyable.
The attractions are a little expensive however worth it.
Overall the place is expensive for food and souvenirs. But truly a good place to visit with a family and kids.

Great park. I just wish the lines weren't always so painfully slow moving at every ride. The parks operations aren't the best really and there's a lot of little kids and elderly crowds. It's a great family park / thrill park but be prepared to wait in some very long lines as the ride crews don't hustle to send out trains.

This is a really nice park that our family really enjoyed visiting. The park seemed really clean and well staffed. We enjoyed the preview night the two hours before our first night. We rented a cabana for our water park day and it was great. They had their own bathrooms and exclusive grill. We got free soft drinks. The staff for the cabanas would make want to do the cabanas again just for them.

We had so much fun yesterday at Hershey Park. We are a family of four. We have a teenager and a toddler. My husband is a roller coaster enthusiast and I am a little less of an enthusiast. We visit every amusement we can. Some are better suited to adults and some to children. It's great when it's well balanced and Hershey Park is!! I wish there was more chocolate. LoL but seriously I was SO in the mood for chocolate fountains ! Loved the refill cups and cashless system. The lines were not bad at all especially for the first half of the day! The app was very helpful except my husband had it too they read wait times differently. For example : mine said 30 min wait and his said 15 minute wait for the same ride. All in all, great time!! See the sea animal show, it's adorable.

The happiest place on earth. What a fantastic place to spend your vacation. The rides are very fun and the lines are long but everybody expects that. Very clean park. The food is delicious. Prices are sky high just like the rides. But who doesn't want to dance with chocolate characters and create their own Hershey Bar at the Hershey Chocolate factory? Dream come true ❤️
Absolutely a must place to visit as a kid and an adult 👌.

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Hersheypark. The park offers rides for all ages at a reasonable price. We spent the entire day at the park, from opening to closing, and there was an abundance of activities to keep us entertained. The park is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The park’s cleanliness and attention to detail are commendable. We highly recommend Hersheypark to families looking for a fun and memorable day out.
Upon entering the park, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who provided us with a map and answered all our questions. The park is well-organized, and the map was easy to follow. We started our day with the Cocoa Cruiser, a family-friendly roller coaster that was a great way to ease into the day. We then moved on to the Laff Trakk, an indoor spinning coaster that was a lot of fun. The Wild Mouse was another highlight, with its sharp turns and sudden drops. We also enjoyed the Ferris Wheel, which provided a great view of the park.
The park has a variety of food options, from snacks to full meals. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Chickie’s & Pete’s stand, which offered a variety of seafood and other options. The park also has plenty of restrooms, which were clean and well-maintained.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at Hersheypark. The park offers something for everyone, and we can’t wait to go back!

It's a nice place to be with kids as with any other amusement park. The tickets are not that expensive but probably they need more staff the manage the crowd. Few rides were not working and sometimes even the vending machines and food services kiosks were too slow. Ultimately, we had fun but could have been better. You need at least 3 days to cover all rides and attractions.

We went on a Sunday in April, the weather was absolutely perfect! Don't love the layout of this park as it is very hard to navigate efficiently. Having said that they do have very good markers pointing everywhere you look so if you know where you want to go it's pretty easy to find it. It was a pretty busy day but we kept an eye on wait times in the app and we ended with our longest wait time being 45 minutes! We caught several rides right after they had been down for some reason or other. The rides themselves are some of the best I've been on!!! So smooth and no headache makers!! Another amazing thing was how allergy friendly the park was!!! The app listed ALL ingredients AND labeled things for several allergy categories. They even had a gluten friendly area/line in Thier food court. WOW!!! Way to go, this was absolutely amazing!!! And the prices for food weren't outrageous!? What more could you ask for, this was so much fun and wish we lived close by so we could enjoy it more often!!

We brought our children and grandchildren (total of 8 people) here for our first visit. Handicap parking was close to the entrance. I obtained an ADA access booklet from guest services to allow easier ride entrance for rides I wanted to go on. The staff makes the process pretty easy and they were all very helpful. There were a lot of school trips visiting the day we went but it still wasn't overly crowded. The most popular rides had a longer wait, as expected. We did not visit the water area while we visited the park. Of course, the food is expensive but they do offer an all day dining option. We did purchase the cups with free refills and we were glad we did. There are refill stations all over the park. The park was very clean and all of the staff we interacted with were polite and knowledgeable. Overall, everyone had a great time and we will definitely visit again.

Service was good and rides were great. In order to get the full experience, you should spend at least a day at the park. I recommend you bring a bottle of water with you since this is a very large park. Kids will enjoy this and the Boardwalk in my opinion is the highlight of this place. Tidal Force was the best water-themed ride. The food wasn’t that great. It’s best to buy these tickets when they’re online or on a deal. Overall, it’s a good place to visit this summer.

Loved my time at Hersheypark. Even though I don’t particularly like roller coasters, I was able to enjoy smaller rides with my niece while the rest of the family enjoyed the big ones. Staff are friendly and helpful to guests. And there is plenty of places to just sit and take in the family friendly environment/atmosphere. I drove from VA and I think it was worth it. Definitely a hit over old Kings Dominion.

We had another great visit to Hershey Park today! We love this park. We especially enjoy the Halloween events. There is something for everyone here - kiddie rides, family rides, roller coasters, dining, arcades, games, shopping. The lines vary from ride to ride. You have the opportunity to buy a fast track pass for an additional cost to get on the rides without waiting. We ate dinner in the park and the food was pretty good to be from a kiosk. The prices are what you would expect: expensive. All staff members were kind and helpful, the restrooms we used were clean and well stocked. The park offers water fill up stations, so bring your own refillable water bottle to save money. Overall, we had an awesome day and we can’t wait to come back!

My family went on a road trip from New Jersey to Ohio in search of an elusive national fencing title for my husband. We drove past Hershey Park on our way to Columbus and promised the kids that we would stop by on the return journey. As soon as we stepped inside the park, we ran into a friend. My kids loved the tide pool and lazy river, and the rides were top notch. On our way to the parking lot, we could hear the start of a Blink-182 concert in the attached arena.

It's cool to walk around the park even if you're not so into rollercoasters. It can get crowded at times, but it's still large enough of a park that you don't feel too confined. Wait times are not horribly long but not super short either. The park is definitely geared more towards people who like big rollercoasters.

Some of the rides were closed but the rides that were open were good. Although it was around Christmas time that we visited, still had lots of people in the lines. I suggest getting in early when the park opens to get on your favorite rides. Towards 4 PM started to see more people getting in, as they have beautiful holiday lights decorated all over the park.

Went here during a camping trip in December of 2021. They had the park decorated for Christmas. Tons of lights. Lots of activities. They had seasonal foods and drinks. Only a fraction of the rides were operational during this time of year (cold). We had a blast. We saw Saint Nick, his reindeer, beautiful displays… we took a ride on their monorail which gives you a spectacular Birds Eye view of the park. This is all happening in the evening mind you. It was a great experience and got us in the Christmas spirit big time. Dressing in layers is a must. Make sure the kiddies are bundled up. PA is quite cold in December.

Hershey Park in the wintertime is absolutely beautiful! Lights everywhere and the reindeer are adorable. The staff watching over the reindeer are very knowledgeable and happy to give any information you may need. Not all of the rides are open during the off season but you don't have to deal with the long lines of the summer.

There were more lights out, then the light display they had turned on.Do not waste your money here, go to bush gardens for a true Christmas experience. The light display was sad most of the lights were out, the shops were shutting down before five. The tree boardwalk was just one giant ad for local companies. Including the hotel room and park tickets we spent over 1,000 dollars for a sad experience. There were so many dark paths with no lights at all. The best thing about the park was zoo America.

If you are eating at the food court, i highly recommend their smores.
ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park is a walk-through zoo adjacent to Hersheypark in Hershey, PA. The zoo features animals native to North America, including mountain lions, owls, and reindeer.

1st family trip in September 2022. This is a nice 11-acre North American wildlife refuge zoo. My family of 3 spent 2 hours in the zoo. It was leading up to closing time. We could have easily spent 2 1/2-3 hours to thoroughly see and appreciate all. So glad we got to visit Zoo America.
C. Adams — Google review
This is a very small, fun zoo with only North American exhibits. It takes less than an hour to go through, shorter if the creatures are hiding. The price is reasonable and there's lots of shade and comfortable stopping points.
The best exhibit is the bears if they're active. They have a pool to play and wrestle in.
Katie Lightcap — Google review
While ZooAmerica is a fine addition to your Hershey Park ticket, I can't recommend it as a stand alone entry. For $17 a pop, we were done with the place within 30 minutes, and that was taking the long way, "suggested route". The animals were well cared for, even if the cages were far too small, and the staff was friendly and courteous, but it was way too much money for so little return.
Joshua Harmon — Google review
The overall experience be would be better if the website mentioned that parking is limited and may be full if you arrive in the morning. Overflow parking is nearby, but if I had known that ahead of time I would have gone there first. Either that or have spaces set aside for people who have Zoo membership.
The website should also be updated with information like birds being kept inside due to the bird flu. I have no problem with that, but all the other zoos in the area actually mention that on their website. If you're not aware of this it just seems like they don't have many animals.
I was there on a Friday in April and most of the outdoor animals were more active in the afternoon. The only animals visible in the morning were the deer, elk, otters and wolves. In the afternoon the Moubtain Lion, Bobcat was America Marten were out while the otters were napping.

THE BEST ZOO I HAVE EVER BEEN TO SO FAR!!! They rescue all of the animals in the exhibits which is awesome. All of the animals are native to the north east regions so America and Canada. It was great really intimate experience because your literally up close to all the animals. Closest I’ve ever been to a lot of the types of animals I saw. I didn’t pay extra for the zoo because I got tickets for Hershey park for 49$ so that was cool. I would definitely recommend everyone to go. Once you know the animals are rescues it completely changes your perspective on place. It was heartfelt. Please do yourself the favor and visit this place at least once!!!!

My children and I love ZooAmerica. It's a great place to see many of the animals native to North America. Each of the exhibits is respectful to the animal, many of whom can't survive in the wild on their own. Going to ZooAmerica at different times of day allows you to see the animals in the kind of periods of time in which they are active. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there are many special events and summer activities for children to participate in. For us ZooAmerica is one of the reasons Hershey is the sweetest place on Earth.

ZooAmerica in Hershey, Pennsylvania. When visiting Hershey park the admission was included. It’s a fun way to slow down from the hustle of the amusement park. With lots of animals to see including night animals. Always fun to see. Not sure the price as I came from the amusement park. But still a fun little get away and rest as you see the amazing animals here.

I grew up going to Hersheypark and going to the zoo! This year, we are first-time season pass holders and have taken our daughter twice to the zoo, and she has loved it! Sometimes, the walkways can get a little crowded, so small stollers are better options since when we went, our wagon got caught trying to get through crowds. For the most part though its a really great low stimulating experience, and it's fun to see all the animals!

4 due to my own experience. I knew it was a like the smaller zoos I'm familiar with, like Cape May County Zoo. I prepared the kids who were going with me to expect "an educational zoo" with the wildlife of North America represented.
All of the animals were in great shape! All of there exhibits, even though they were of the older, "caged animals" type, interested and educated the 15yr old and 4yr old with us.
If you have never been here before and are expecting any zoo like a large city, you'll be very disappointed.
But I had a solid 4 out of 5, and I'll do it again. Once a year is perfect.

It's a small zoo, but there are some very cool animals here. With all the other attractions around it's a cool stop to have on your agenda, but don't have it as your main attraction. Another great thing was we were able to use our zoo pass from the North Carolina zoo for a big discount.

Came here with an hour and a half before they closed. We breezed though the whole thing by the time the park closed. 11 acres about and the animals were all there. For the most park, many were asleep. Not a big crowd of people during the weekdays. Parking wasn't an issue. There were big black vultures flying around. And apparently they're not part of the zoo. They're working with animal groups in how to have them not migrate to their zoo area. Think of giant black seaguls waiting to steal your unattended food. All north American animals are in the exhibit and wonderful to see.

The zoo is worth it for the price you pay, under $100 for a family of 5. Or free if you come from Hersheypark. Lots of exhibits, indoor and outdoor, but no bears... Most of the animals were not very active at 1 in the afternoon. The most active were the Prairie Dogs and Turtles. Routes around the zoo are easy to follow and very accessible with a stroller. Very small gift shop and free parking. If you're in the Hershey area, it's worth the visit.

Despite the fact that it wasn't very big this is an absolutely wonderful zoo. There is a suggested path that allows you to see everything if you follow it which makes things simple. The animal displays are great because you can really get up close to them. My favorite part was the nocturnal animals that were kept in low light so you could see them be active.

My kids loved seeing all the animals, the coolest part was when we were looking at the wolves and an ambulance went by the wolves all started howling. It was so cool to see ans hear them. Obviously this is not a normal occurrence, but just seeing the animals would have been enough.

We had a wonderful time on the 8am private tour-- it was well worth the cost. We were the only people in the park aside for staff, and all the animals were out and active since it was quiet. Our guide (Ash) was a lovely person and very knowledgeable. Lots of special memories made.

The zoo itself is awesome, it's located directly outside of Hershey park. If you buy a ticket to the theme park the zoo is included. You can also buy a ticket to just the zoo. Overall the zoo isn't huge but the animals are all super easy to see and it never seems too busy when we go. Good amount of animals to see prob takes about 2 hours to get through the whole park after seeing the animals.

The zoo was alright. It was a great experience with a wide variety of animals. However, I am giving it 3 stars due to poor maintenance. Some of the machines dont work and the staff arent keen on issuing refunds.

Our visit to ZooAmerica in Hershey, PA, was truly memorable, filled with exciting activities and fascinating wildlife encounters. The diverse range of exhibits and engaging displays ensured that there was never a dull moment during our trip.
One of the highlights was spending time observing the playful otters. Their energetic antics and underwater acrobatics provided entertainment for visitors of all ages. The bear exhibit was equally impressive, allowing us to witness these majestic creatures up close and learn more about their natural behaviors.
The wolf exhibit was a definite standout, offering a unique and captivating experience. The wolves' presence was both powerful and intriguing, providing insight into the beauty and importance of these incredible animals in the wild. The knowledgeable staff added depth to the experience, sharing interesting facts and answering questions with enthusiasm.
The overall atmosphere of ZooAmerica was welcoming and family-friendly. The exhibits were well-maintained, and the cleanliness of the facilities added to the positive experience. It's evident that the staff is dedicated to the well-being of the animals and the satisfaction of visitors.
Our trip to ZooAmerica was not only entertaining but also educational. The combination of wildlife observation and informative displays created a well-rounded experience. I highly recommend ZooAmerica in Hershey, PA, for anyone seeking a delightful blend of fun and learning in a beautiful setting.

What a great day spent at Zoo America! There are a ton of different animals and exhibits to see, including multiple indoor exhibits. We took the 'Suggested Route' and it was fantastic. Each day, there is a different 'Meet and Greet' with select animals.
The bear and eagle exhibits were so cool! Definitely check out the otters, too.
The whole zoo has a lot of shade and coverage to avoid the sun. The indoor exhibits both are much bigger than they appear with a large number of animals/creatures in both!
Overall, the zoo is great! It's definitely worth coming to! It's a good size, especially for walking around with little ones. Felt like you get up close to most animals. Only down side is the gift shop is on the smaller side and pricey but does have some cool souvenirs.
The Hershey Story Museum tells the story of Milton S. Hershey, one of the most influential and successful businessmen in American history. The museum features interactive exhibits about his life, as well as limited-run exhibits on special occasions. Admission is free for all visitors, and it is a family-friendly museum that is perfect for anyone interested in learning more about Milton Hershey and his legacy.
This is a winner and we will return! It has been many years since I’ve been to the Hershey area and this was not here the last time we were. This museum tells the story of Milton Hershey in a clear and interesting way. The museum is interactive and engaging. The guides that are stationed throughout the museum are very helpful.
We also participated in the Chocolate Lab where we made truffles. Our teacher was a bit boring but the experience was worth it. We finished our visit in the gift store which had an interesting selection. I can’t wait to try my chocolate soap!
One important note for those of us that have limited mobility. There is an elevator and an easy to navigate museum. There are also ample benches throughout the museum to be able to enjoy the museum and be able to navigate comfortably. One problem I had was with the bathroom on the first floor. The handicap stall was not big enough to fit my walker. That was a challenge. However, they have a bathroom on the second floor that is handicap friendly. Also, I did not see handicap parking on the way in. We found a spot that was fairly close but it was a little awkward getting to the entrance.

The Hershey Story Museum was a very detailed presentation on the history and development of the Hershey product and company. I was surprised at how many artifacts they had to display. I definitely learned a lot, not just about the Hershey company, but some historical and scientific facts as well. The layout and displays were very attractive. My children really enjoyed the microscope in the Cuba area. I had no idea the extent to which the Hershey company has had influence in the building of the community and beyond. They even had this cool thing where you could hold up a programmed chip to various points within the museum and it would say hello with your name. There were other interactive things as well. We went on a day with bad weather so we might have been the only people in there. Thusly it was very quiet.

Great museum to learn everything there is to know about Milton Hershey and how the Hershey company came to be. The pricing was $15 for the museum and $15 for the Chocolate Lab. The Lab was cool, you learn about the Chocolate making process. You can also "make" a chocolate bar. I
They give you melted chocolate and you pour in a mold, decorate and they put it in the fridge to harden. We would definitely recommend the museum and maybe the Lab for kids.

This review is specifically about the chocolate tasting. This is a must do! It allows you to taste different percentages of chocolate but also different regions. Fantastic experience and is self paced so you can hang out and chat with friends while working your way through 6 tastes. $13 for a 6 sample flight.

What a great experience. We didn't know anything about Hershey story before. The place did a great job telling it. We were surprised how much we learned, it was really cool. And it's a really nice building and surrounding area. The little restaurant inside was worth the money and very good. The kids really enjoyed doing the chocolate making lab.

We decided to come to The Hershey Story Museum when the rain forced us to come indoors and not be able to go to Hershey Park. Honestly I thought to myself, who would want to visit a boring chocolate museum? When I entered inside and walked around a bit, the museum was beyond my expectations. We had no waiting time since it seemed less busy than usual. I liked how they set up a system where you have to strategize to build a working chocolate factory (7th photo). It took 3 attempts until we finally got it and I really enjoyed it. I got to learn many things about Hershey that I didn’t know about before, and I suggest others to visit as it gives a good experience. I cant really say anything about staff since I didn’t have much interaction. Overall the place was very clean and well cared for. Will visit again!
Cleanness: 10/10

This was a nice stop on our way through Pennsylvania to Ohio. There are quite a few things to read as you go through the exhibits and some nice memorabilia to see. When you get your tickets, you will get a little RFID token which you can scan at little kiosks around the museum that will show small animations about Hershey. If you personalize, each of the four colors you pick will show different animations at the kiosks so if with a larger group, pick different colors (or just save the other colors if for a future visit).
It only takes an hour or so to go through the museum.

I love museums and those that tell a story. So much to do here. Chocolate tastings from around the world, chocolate lab - essentially hands on classes, and a whole lot of information. The Hershey’s did wonders for the area and it was pleasant being able to step back into their world and see how the famous chocolate did just that - become famous. We arrived at 2pm and were able to do chocolate tasting right away. Unfortunately, the chocolate lab classes weee already booked up. I would certainly do this again if I were back in the area.
Plenty of parking near the museum.

Very nice museum about the life of Milton Hershey. Lot of hands on type activities and things to touch, see, and listen to. The Chocolate Lad is woth the time to expirence. Our speaker did a great job and we got to make a bar of chocolate to take home with us.
It wasn't very crowed when we went do to a snow storm that was happening so I don't know how it would have been on a typical tourist day.
Everyone was very helpful and they paid attention to the visitors first. I felt like they wanted us to have the best visit ever!

I received the tickets for this through the Hershey lodge and it was a good time with my niece and daughter. We took part in the chocolate lab as well and had a blast in there. The coffee shop located in the museum building was also very good! I recommend going there over Starbucks located across the street.
Take a couple hours and enjoy! Highly recommend.
I grew up behind the farm as a kid and truly believe their milk help me become 6’8”. A gallon a day of 2% and now I get to share the farm with my daughter and check out these cool cows with some Ice Cream.

I have tasted their milk multiple times in the past and I know that my son loves their chocolate milk. I just never knew where it was located. So the wife and I were looking for new ice cream places to visit and this place popped up on my maps. So we visited. It was a good time. Nice little grocery store with farm-type of items, ice cream shop, and, of course, dairy products. Staff were pleasant. You can walk about the farm on a self-guided tour and just was a nice trip.

Located not too far south of York, this is worth the drive! The milkshakes and ice cream are amazing. The small farm store has a plethora of fresh baked goods, sandwiches, milk (of course), juices, and sweets.
All of the staff were so nice and helpful. The site also has two port-a-loo toilets located adjacent to the car park.

Our first time there. We got a few baked goods and icecream. We recommend the chocolate mint chip and also the blueberry cheesecake. So smooth and creamy and yummy. Not overly sweet. The waffle bowl and cone are great too

This place has the largest ice cream cones! I couldn’t even finish the double scoop of ice cream that I ordered. The apple cheesecake flavor-of-the-month was quite sweet; however, it was still delicious.
Unfortunately, the staff will only let you sample the flavor-of-the-month. On the bright side, the flavor-of-the-month is discounted 25 cents a scoop.
This place is great for kids. The farm has a window where you can watch cows being milked. If your visit coincides with the farmers feeding their roughly 40 calves, you will be in for a real treat!

Always delicious farm fresh milk and ice cream! The flavored milk is really good, especially the peanut butter! Inside there is a store that has a variety of baked good and milk products. Kids have a blast here! You can let them see and pet baby calves!

Perrydell makes the best chocolate milk ever. It’s like melted chocolate ice cream. When I learned that they had a store nearby that sells ice cream and milk, my family and I went. Their chocolate ice cream is superb, AND they have the baby calves in little pens out back. You can go and pet them. I love it, and our toddler does too. The calves are very cute. Sometimes they’ll lick your hand, or sometimes they’ll try to nibble on a kid’s shirt. They’re quite endearing, and it’s a good time. Heads up if you go- you have to order and pick up ice cream outside of the store. You can buy pints and such inside the store though. (Also you can see the flavors they have available inside.) It can be a little slow, but it’s worth the wait.

Delicious ice cream with all the richness you would expect from being made on-site at a long standing dairy farm!
Blueberry and butter brickle were especially good. They don’t allow sampling though fyi. There’s limited outdoor seating, and even less that’s in the shade. Porta potty only.
Best of all, go check out the cows and calves right behind the store.

Stopped by since they are featured on the ice cream trail! Part of a farm they have a small store. We had various purchases and wanted to try their ice cream we were told we had to order and then wait outside. One in our group asked for a certain flavor milkshake, we were told they were out but the flavor was in the case. He ended up with a mint chocolate chip that was so strong of mint it did not taste good at all. The staff was not friendly and seemed annoyed to be there. I can give everything else a pass until the customer service fails. Outside they have very few picnic tables for the amount of customers. On the plus side the blueberry cheesecake ice cream was delicious but unfortunately not enough to bring us back.

What is there not to like about Perrydell. From shakes, to treats to different flavors of milk, you will find something you can enjoy and take with you.
During the warmer months you can enjoy the sight of some farm animals, while entertaining conversations with others as you enjoy your purchase from Perrydell.

Stopped here while visiting the area. They have several calves in enclosures if you are inclined to pet a cow. It’s a working farm so no tours or information so you are left to wonder around. The ice cream was delicious and the store had a lot of fresh dairy products to try.
The Mount Hope Estate Wine Store is a 19th century manor that includes a wine tasting room and various festivals on the grounds. The store specializes in award winning wines, and has a wide variety of accessories for purchase. The Renaissance Faire is held here each year, with live entertainment on 35 acres. We were here for FlavorFest, the annual wine and spirits tasting event that is held here. Overall it was well organized. There is tons of free parking, and a vast amount of land that housed vendors from around PA. The Renaissance theme of the grounds is very quirky, but also interesting. There were food vendors (prepare for long lines), gift shops, clean bathrooms, places to sit, and lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes. Most of the wine vendors offered (very) sweet wines, which aren't my favorite. But I bought a few bottles of some good ones. Vendors organized a bottle check that was also very organized, so you didn't have to carry them with you all day.

It was a somewhat fun time. It's definitely a place for people to role play with the time. I don't feel for nearly $35 a person to get in, they charge you a $2 online fee when buying your ticket, that you get much for your money. The live shows are okay, the players and crowd do have fun and get into it. Bring cash, lots of it, because 90% is cash only. The food here is ok, but mostly over priced, as you would probably expect. So high priced food, too much to get in, and so so food doesn't seem worth it to me. However if you like role play and dress up, it's more for you.

Average food cost after admission is $25 per person but be sure to bring spending cash for amazing souvenirs, gadgets and clothing! Biggest downsides: bathrooms are not great. Also the bathrooms are not even remotely accessible.

The Wolf Sanctuary of PA is a wildlife refuge that shelters rescued wolves from all over the country. The sanctuary provides guided tours with information about wolf conservation and biology. Visitors can track, rehabilitate, and treat these animals in their unique environment. On Full Moon nights, visitors can enjoy bonfires, live entertainment, and explore the sanctuary at their own pace.
What a special place, truly. I assumed going in that the tour would be cute (and it was) but the stories shared about some of their wolves were just heart wrenching, yet heartwarming. All of these animals are nurtured with love and with the proper environment/conditions that a wolf would ever need. Please support this non-profit if ever visiting Pennsylvania, or make a donation whenever you can. Will continue to support.

We visited on a snowy, sunny day in January and had such a wonderful time! Our guide Starr was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and patiently answered questions from kids and adults alike. We got to see a lot of the wolves who were happily lazing about in the snow or showing off their latest treats, and learned about their individual histories, as well as the challenges faced by wolves in America and also by wolf-dog hybrids. I highly recommend the tour, and 100% of your ticket price goes to the organization. They do important rescue work and I'm happy to support it.
A few details to note: Tours take place in all weather, so dress appropriately; you will be outside the entire time, unless you visit the gift shop after the tour. There is some paved parking, but most of it is in a field, at the top of a rather steep hill. In the snow this can be a little tricky if you don't have a vehicle that can handle it. There are no restrooms, only porta-potties on site. You will be on your feet for the whole tour and it's not handicap-accessible. But well worth it if you can make it!

I recently visited the Wolf Sanctuary over the weekend, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The weather was beautiful, setting the perfect backdrop for observing these majestic creatures. The wolves were out and about, making their presence known, which added an exciting element to the visit. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and provided insightful information about the wolves, patiently answering all our questions. Moreover, the sanctuary's dedication to protecting endangered wolves is commendable, and it's evident they're doing an exceptional job in their conservation efforts. Overall, it was an unforgettable day surrounded by nature's most fascinating predators.

We did a public tour and there was so much information given on the wolves and their histories as well as information on wolves in general. Doing an adoption tour afterwards was also fantastic as you may get additional information or see other wolves not currently on the public tour (if your wolf isn't currently on it). Staff and volunteers were super friendly and we can't wait to go back!

From booking to seeing the wolves to shopping in the gift shop and leaving, we had an easy process and a wonderful time. The tour guides are very well informed and gave a lot of information about the wolves. The volunteers who helped check us in were awesome as well as they directed us with direct information on which way to drive, and where to park. They even have handicap parking for those who need it. The gift shop has a lot of merchandise. Prices ranging from 5 dollars on up for products. We will definitely visit again. And we were able to see our adopted wolf privately. Staff is very accommodating. Everyone should visit the wolf sanctuary and support it with donations.

In June we visited the Wolf Sanctuary of PA for a guided tour. When we got there, we were greeted by the wolves howling and I will say hearing it in person vs through a screen is an experience! We didn't get to see all the wolves (you can in a private tour) but as we walked through the sanctuary, the tour guide was able to give us information about the wolves - their names, where they came from, etc. Some were super friendly and the others were cautious. Shout out to Loki for being a people pleaser lol Many of these animals were removed from homes who bred wolf pups as household pets which understanding the care they need, is not a life for them! Highly recommend going. Also the staff and volunteers were super nice and helpful! Worth the 1.5 hour drive :)

Absolutely loved visiting this wolf sanctuary with my family. We booked the private tour and I apologize greatly as I am not good with names. Our guide was more than accommodating with answering questions making sure that our tour needs were successfully fulfilled. My 2 children always wondered why I loved the wolf so much basically all my life now they know. This, as I promised them is an experience that they would never forget and indeed they share their experiences with classmates and even want to learn more by purchasing books. I encourage the their knowledge on why this particular habit has come about and others across the United States and around the world and the the importance and impact it has on the population of the breed. Maybe one day they can also help be conservationists and help save and restore and educate people as they have just begun their journey. Thanks for the unforgettable experience and truly remarkable job your whole staff is and has and are doing to help this amazing animal.

I give it 5 stars because the mission is honorable. They only take in rescue wolves now and do not breed their wolves. The tour guide I had was very knowledgeable. I went on a Saturday morning for a tour which started at 10am. Unfortunately some of the wolves were in distress due to the large tour groups passing by throughout the morning. It was definitely neat and an interesting experience to see wolves so up close with such a variety of different coats. Next time I know to come in the fall rather than the summer because all the shrubbery made it hard to see every wolf. Thought I should add, they have water offered throughout the tour. Also, the gift shop situation could use a little work. Only about 10 people can fit comfortably inside at a time. The items offered to be purchased didn’t seem well thought out. Basics like tshirts, mugs, and stuffed animals. I feel like their missing out on some profit there.

We went to the fundraiser they had last weekend. The wolves are well taken care of! It was really crowded....good for the fundraiser. Some staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, yelling, but I think it was the first time they had a big event... but id like to go back to learn more about the packs on a regular tour. But it is was a really nice day :)

Mandy was a phenomenal guide. She knew the wolves so well she could describe their personalities and history as we approached. She was very patient and answered our questions. I visited with young teens who were captivated for hours and may not have noticed that we were OUTSIDE ;)
We captured excellent photos with our wolf hosts who seemed happy to greet us thanks to their obvious trust and fondness of Mandy.
Will return with friends to stay at the B&B! I hope Mandy is volunteering when we visit next.

This place was incredible everything was great the public tour was kind of short but you get to roam around for an hour and a half go wherever you want in a limited area but there still was plenty to see the staff was amazing and were happy to answer any questions anyone threw at them and were very thankful for us even being there which is a different but very good feeling we are going on a private tour first chance we get

This place is a truly amazing experience! There were a decent amount of wolves out and active. The coolest part was the howling, it was so loud and non-stop!!! Our guide, Russ was a wealth of knowledge and everything he said was interesting. He was incredible and passionate being there for 8 years as a volunteer. The gift shop is awesome. It lives up to the expectation, what a cool experience. This tour is educational and fun and the wolves are beautiful.

My husband and I went on a public tour of the Wolf Sanctuary. I’m leaving five stars because the mission is incredible and our tour guide (Melissa) was VERY knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour.
However, they kept emphasizing how much better private tours are. My husband and I had wanted a private tour however the only available times were at 7:00 am so we had to opt for a public tour.
I even called first to see if another time could be accommodated and the woman I spoke to told me no and was very rude.
If they want to emphasize private tours they need to offer them at better times.
That said once there we had a wonderful experience.

Enjoyed our tours of the Wolf Sanctuary. We did the day tour (in the rain) and the full moon tour. There are more than 50 wolves on the site. The staff shared so much information about each wolf. The best part of the tour was when they were all howling at the same time.
We did the day tour in the rain and the temp during the full moon tour was in the 30s so dress appropriately.
We also stayed at the Speedwell Forge Bed and Breakfast that is on the same property.
Highly recommended it.

It was really neat to be able to go to the full moon event, and hear the information about wolves in general, and about their wolves in particular. The facilities for wolves were greatly taken care of, and the wolves themselves appeared to be in great shape and well taken care of. The general public areas are lovely and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I hope to repeat in the future. 👍👍 two thumbs up from me 😊

We had a great time! Learned a lot! Russ was our guide and he was awesome! I saw a complaint in the reviews about not a well maintained terrain, please, you are outside, expect to get dirty if it had rained on the past 24 hours, it's common sense.

This was a fun and interesting experience for us. The public tour was about 1.5 hours long and my 10 year old enjoyed it almost as much as I did. I'd recommend making sure people wear good footwear and dress appropriately to the weather. I'd also encourage people to make sure you go to the bathroom before getting there. The bathrooms were porta potties, although they were very clean.

My 2nd time here (11 years apart) and it's still great. My girlfriend's first time and she loved it. Her only complaint was that there "should be an old, slow wolf that I can pet".
Karl was a great tour guide.

Such a wonderful experience! We have adopted a wolf for the last 2 years and were thankful to finally get to meet her, and her friends. The tour is informative and really allows you to connect with the wolves. The staff are beyond passionate about their work and ensuring that these wolves receive wonderful care. Thank you for the great visit!

LancasterHistory is a must-see for history buffs, with exhibits on local history, the home of President James Buchanan and Wheatland. The museum has an arboretum and research center, as well as a Museum Store.
What a nice day at the Lancaster Museum. Excellent perspective on the last 300 years of history. I learned about the past presidents and some of the people who I’ve heard of, but did not know how they contributed. I’m looking forward to coming back while the library is open.

Visited the Lancaster History Museum in April 2022. Was looking forward to a seeing a museum that documented the experiences and lives of the people who settled in Lancaster and made this their home. Hoped to see photos and artifacts documenting the neighborhoods, places where people worked, played, community organizations, churches etc. Who settled in Lancaster since it first became a town? What it was like to live in Lancaster? Instead there was one room and it chose to focus on 3 "events".. 1) event of the killing of native Americans in the 1760s 2) the civil war period and slavery in the 1860's and 3) the civil unrest in the 1960's.
Once more what should have been a museum that told the whole story of Lancaster and all its peoples instead "rewrote history" by its single empahasis of politically charged events. This isn't the first time I have seen this in a museum lately. Once more "Critical Race Theory" being shoved down peoples throats. VERY disappointed. Don't waste your time. And I certainly hope the curators of this museum have a change of heart and start to tell the rest of the history of Lancaster.

We didn't go inside because it closes early. Outside it has a small arboretum with all trees names... Good to see once, but not really speaking since you'll be next to high traffic streets. It would be much better to have it within suburban area.

Very well done museum with awesome staff (Jerry was amazing on the Wheatland house tour). I love that most things are artifacts and not reproductions. I live that you move around the house without too many barriers and can gaze directly at things. While Buchanan is often looked at as a failed president, he was leading through a very divisive time and did so with a dignity and decorum that is too often missing today.

I didn't tour the museum because of my tight schedule, but its lobby and surroundings are beautiful. Parking was easy. I will tour the museum on my next visit.

Excellent example of small museum with historical artifacts that have relevancy today. The concise collection is diverse culturally and in content. It is the the perfect compliment to a tour of Wheatland, home of the 15th President of the United States. The images were taken in the museum

I believe that I visited on 10/4, as I’m visiting from Goose Creek, SC. I’ve have a membership for at least 20 years now, if not more when it was a very small building. I was greeted rather coldly as I approached the counter and introduced myself and handed my membership card. I was told to put on the blue tag that attaches to clothing and that I couldn’t bring my brief case inside that I had to lock it up along with my coat and hat. (I can understand theft but how can I use my genealogy research that I brought with me if it’s not aloud the the research area! I was also told that I needed an appointment to research…heck, I’m a paying member coming in from South Carolina! She said the next appointments would be at 1pm…really! I followed the rules and o did go back to the research area and spoke with the lady behind the desk. I explained who I was where I’m coming from and would like to research. It was around 12:45pm and I had to fill out paperwork. She was very friendly compared to the first encounter I had. I also wanted to donate a newer updated version of my family history and I had to fill out paperwork and hen I donated our families genealogy since I the that is already on file is old and outdated. There was only 3 people in the research room and now it’s 1pm. I got to go in. I was so taken back that I felt humiliated and only stayed for about 45 minutes. My membership card states (valid 12/13/2021 to 4/8/2023. Many Years ago this place was so nice to come to. I retired from the military in 1999, and I use to visit more prior to 1999. Since I live now in South Carolina, i don’t come up to Lancaster that much anymore. I’m real hesitant to rejoin once this membership expires. (See my membership card minus my number that I covered up). Maybe someone will reach out to me about this review. I didn’t feel welcomed whatsoever.
The Clipper Magazine Stadium is a baseball stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania that features a snack stand and playground for children.
What a great stadium. I'm used to HUGE big city stadiums and they're just too big. I swear there isn't a single bad viewpoint in the entire place. It's really easy to find your seating and *every* staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We had skybox seats, courtesy of my husband's workplace, and it was spacious, comfortable, great outside seats, with beverages and food replenished regularly. We were close enough to see well and our 5 year old really had a spectacular time. On the way out, we stopped at the team store and got a stuffer bear in a jersey for a souvenir. :) Bonus: our Barnstormers won! 10/10 would go again and sit anywhere (tho I certainly prefer the skybox! ;) ). Next time we'll stay for the aftershow!

Great time at a decent stadium.
Food choices need more options then fried foods.
But parking is a nice set up.
They have bounce houses and a carasel.
Today was free for kids and we didn't pay for parking. They have lots of events throughout the season including baseball camps for kids

Went there to see the Christmas lights. I wish they would make each car stay so far from each other. Some are way too close and feel like they are rushing you. 25 dollars a car load I feel is ok if you have a call full of people, but for just 2 people I'm the car is a bit high. I love that you can get out and see all the decorated trees and see most of the lights that way as well! The hot chocolate was not great. I'm upset spending the money for it. The giant blow-up Santa was super cool! 🎅

A near-perfect minor league baseball park. They have really upped their food game over the last few years and realized that the experience is about the park and the grub and quality drinks and family entertainment...the quality of actual baseball is relatively low down that list for most. It's an unaffiliated league, so hard to get too worked up about the outcome of any particular game, but great to see players doing something they love to do! Great fireworks displays most weekends in the summer make this an easy choice for cheap family fun. It's an absolute jewel of this little city to have a stadium you can walk to from just about anywhere downtown.

Enjoyed the game as an employee guest of wellspan healthcare. I've been in the bleacher sections before, but this was the 1st time up in a skybox. Couldn't have asked for better weather and the caterer who handled our skybox did everything to make us feel welcome. Only issue was that some of the hot food was not hot when it was 1st brought up.

Very nice small town stadium. All the amenities, including a play area for children. Clean well stocked restrooms! Like everything these days food is pricey. A water cost $4.50 a little price gouging since no outside drinks allowed. Someone with health issues that needs to constantly drink it is alot, but admission to game is very affordable for families.

My friend had her wedding/ reception at the stadium. The staff was so attentive to every detail. Deidra( stadium event coordinator), made us feel like she was on our team. They surrounded the bridal party with support and compassion. You could genuinely feel that Deidra and her staff wanted to make sure they did everything possible to make the wedding day nothing short of spectacular. It was a wonderful day. Went to see festival of lights. Absolutely awesome, the Grands loved it. I loved it soooooo much, we went again. Then went to see Hershey lights, which was a severe and stark letdown after Lancasters Festival of Lights. Any Hershey even had the nads to charge way more!

It was nice. Game was good. My only complaint was that I have a friend with many eating restrictions. She did her research and knew that she could get a salad at the one stand. Then when she arrived she was told that weren't selling them that night. This is something that should be listed on website.

We had a lovely time at my son's graduation 🎓 held here. There was actually shade in the stands at midday and the seats were comfortable. The food was way over priced, we but expected it to be. The restrooms were easy to find, working well, and very very clean. The arena was easy to find and had great parking. It was an amazing ceremony and really nice to see the kids pictures up on the jumbo screen... Not that you had to watch the screen to see who each kid was as they crossed the stage because even from over half way up the 🏟️ you could make out the kids faces and facial expressions. It was just the best graduation 🎓 I have ever been to and I am not just glowing as an over proud momma... Even though I am very proud of my son... It was just a lovely day and I can only imagine a ball game would be just as lovely there. Oh and it was 92+degrees out today when we were there and the heat was not even an issue... The breeze swept through the facility and kept us cool in the shade. My son did say it was much hotter on the field but he was also wearing several extra layers of dress clothing as well as a cap and gown. This was just a lovely experience in a beautiful place.
