Nature & Parks
Lakeside park offers a restaurant, cottages & plenty of space for gatherings & getaways.
The part of the park that has been rebuilt since the tornado hit is really nice. All new roads and bath houses. The sites are gravel and large and relatively level.

Hotel is a little older but makes up for it with the service, comfortable beds and balcony with lakeside view. It is very quiet and quaint with no loud traffic or music. There is a nice restaurant in the lodge next to the harbor to enjoy breakfast or dinner. Bring your swimsuit and fishing pole, bikes or kayak too they have a great pool and a whole lake connected to the Tennessee River. Lots of hiking trails as well. You won't go wrong staying here it was very relaxing and wish I'd had more time to explore

Very comfortable campgrounds. Plenty of spaces with great views of the water. Nice bathhouse. Section A has lots of shade. Section B and C are in the sun. They offer primitive camping in another Section.
Vann Cook — Google review
I love the park but the old lady at the campground office when i checked in is not friendly, she is rude! After greeting her good afternoon and told her "I'm here to get my car tag for camp tonight". She just blurted "what name!" - No good old Southern greeting like "afternoon, how are you?"....just looked at me asked for my name! Ma'am just because you see I'm different that you assume I'm stupid! You made me feel ignorant and stupid...anyway, I love the campground and the park...I just don't like the Old lady in the campground office!

Large park with an extensive number of amenities. Beautiful lake with an great rock coastline. Plenty of wildlife great pavilions and luxury cabin rentals. There is a marina and beach area which make this park excellent for enjoying water activities.

This is the second year we've taken our family to Joe Wheeler for the weekend. Last year we stayed at the lodge, but this year the kids (adults) stayed in the lodge and we rented a cottage so that we could have a gathering place. The cottage and location is beautiful. The only problem is that the beds are not comfortable at all. Check in was easy, all of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great weekend!
Stephanie Montgomery — Google review
Nice, quiet state park. My family and I had a great few days. There is a marina, cottages, cabins (across the river), Lodge rooms, onsite dining, pool, hiking, frisby golf, and camping. We stayed in the lodge but we want to come back to the camp ground

This review is for the picnic and swimming area.
First we had to pay to get in, which would've been fine but then come to find out it looks nothing like the photos. There was trash everywhere and even though pets aren't supposed to be allowed on the beach there were mounds of dog poop everywhere. You couldn't even swim because of how gross everything was. I do not recommend swimming or having a get together here.
Vanessa Blankenship — Google review
Campground and bike trails! I'm only reviewing the Campground and the bike trails because we haven't stayed at the lodge. The campground is very nice with a lot of spots having beautiful views of the water. Check the spot map because some spots have shade trees and some have no shade. Full hookups and everything seems to be maintained well. We love to ride the bike trails. Trails are pretty well maintained and are fairly easy enough for most riders. You will see deer if you come here. We see them every time and they are beautiful! It's overall just a beautiful park.

Stayed here in the newly renovated campground section C.
Hiking good. Many wildlife. Golf course, The General looked healthy and well maintained. Also disc golf, beach area under renovation, boat rentals and cruises at the marina, marina, lodge and restaurant. We had a good time, All people we interacted with were friendly.

This state park is very relaxing to come to. My family and I love coming here. The rooms are spacious & clean, the beds are comfortable. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They have a great pool. I've been coming here since I was a child. I love the docks that you can walk to as well as the swing set. You can get beautiful pictures of sunsets here. Also great place to see birds. There are so many that build nests at the lodge. It is so cute to see them!
The lodge has a great restaurant. I love the Wheeler burger. Their Easter buffet is amazing and had such a huge selection of items. The gift shop in the restaurant is also fun. I found some cute crystals. Definitely worth checking this location out and spending the night. I love it here! Very peaceful!
They also offer cabin rentals on the lake. The new cabins look beautiful right on the lake. I remember staying at the older cabins when I was younger. There is a fun little old fashion play ground that is great to see still around.
Carla Stapleton — Google review
The lodge may be a little dated but it's clean. The surroundings are gorgeous and the staff is excellent -- helpful and friendly.
The Christmas boat parade is always a favorite.
There are several nice trails for mountain biking and hiking.
Dave Beck — Google review
The new mountain bike trails at Joe Wheeler are well designed - fast, curvy, rolling hills, family friendly and scenic. About 9 miles total. The Sunday lunch buffet was great too!

This is a beautiful park with fantastic cross country style mountain bike trails that are multi-use. The lake is beautiful. The golf course is a great value. The rangers are helpful. Most times I run or ride here I see more deer than people.
Historic house museum & residence of President Polk, offering 30-minute tours & garden access.
Absolutely wonderful tour and tour guides! Very informative, great for a field trip, a day with the family, or just something to do to pass the time, I highly recommend! Columbia TN is such a cute little town also!
Kathleen Butler — Google review
Nicely done museum house with a focus on President James K. Polk. The museum has a very good collection of artifacts. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
It's worth noting that Polk only lived a portion of his life in this house - with the demolition of the Polk House in Nashville, this became the primary place to serve as a museum to Polk in the area.
Brian Halma — Google review
Beautiful home of our 11th President James K. Polk. This is his only remaining residence other than The White House. His home where he lived after his presidency in downtown Nashville was torn down. Not sure why Nashville would tear down a presidential home! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the home, the history of the time, the President and his family. The tour included the home, the grounds and the kitchen. They also have a video about JKP and a small gift shop. It was not busy, but there was a steady flow of people. Highly recommend a visit to Columbia, TN and this historical hidden gem.

Spent around 2 hour here. Very informative tour guide and enthusiastic about the history behind the mansion and family. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Nicholas Redding — Google review
Nice tour of a home President Polk lived in. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful on the tour. Not a large house however and the grounds are small.
Todd Oney — Google review
Visited today with my son and we loved it! Very friendly staff, nice gift shop, and interesting things on exhibit. Benjamin served as a great guide and we will be back again bringing our other family members.
J T — Google review
The tour left a little to be desired. The small museum inside the gift shop provided a lot of information and I was glad the staff mentioned the contributions of the enslaved people who helped the family. This was also covered in the museum displays. Your was pretty kid friendly, they had a little scavenger hunt for kids to participate in.
Amanda Martinez-Kirby — Google review
This is the home of our 11th President. It is one of the more authentic historic locations from this time period as most of the items are not reproductions due to the family passing them directly to the historic association.
I have taken the tour four times now over a ten year span. Every single tour guide is extremely knowledgeable and seems to have a passion for James Polk.
On this trip, our guide went above and beyond by answering questions and even staying a little past closing to make sure we saw everything.
Very highly recommend (even if you aren’t a Polk fan) just for the historic value.
M Hendrix — Google review
Beautiful home of President Polk. This is his only remaining residence other than The White House. The house is finished as his home in Nashville was. The tour guide provided history and knowledge about the President and his family.
Worth the visit.
Nick Alexander — Google review
Wonderful and informative tour of the Polk family home. The tour included the home, the grounds, the kitchen/slave quarters, and a temporary exhibition on the adjacent property. They also have a video about JKP and a small gift shop. They offer children's camps through the summer. Came on a Sunday. It was not busy, but there was a steady flow of people. Highly recommend this hidden gem in a sleepy Southern town!
Christy Lawson — Google review
Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Because of this tour I am buying a book about this Presidency.
Valerie Conner — Google review
One of best historical tours we have ever done, largely due to our tour guide, Phyllis! She was congenial and extremely knowledgeable! We started with a 10 minute video, then reviewed an adjacent room of several exhibits before the personal tour hosted by Phyllis throughout the home. Highly recommend this to anyone with a love of history. James & Sarah Polk deserve much more notoriety!
Rick Rickert — Google review
Small site and museum - but our tour guide was incredibly educated and fielded all sorts of questions. Sites like this show the modern importance of the National Archives, and for a relatively obscure President, it was enlightening to see what would be a fairly simple home that he grew up in. Many of the surviving artifacts from the time there are full of history.
Steve Van Dyke — Google review
I never knew much about this president, but I do now. It's a small property and only costs $12 for adults. Pretty original homes and garden. Columbia is one of the smaller towns that hasn't torn down a lot of historic homes so it's pretty as well. Our tour guide seemed very knowledgeable.

Such a great winery! So many options for different wines: sweet fruit wines to dry red wines. There’s live music on Saturday’s spring-fall and always a food truck on those nights! The owners are also wonderful and super knowledgeable about the wine they have. One of my favorite places in TN!
Lisa Salvitti — Google review
Great small winery. Super friendly owner. Lovely interesting wines!

Great day for Bridal shower. Nice accommodations, catering was well done and wine offerings made this a nice venue for a a small and intimate affair.

Kenneth and his wife are the friendliest hosts of any winery I've every visited. They are personable, knowledgeable of the wines, friendly, attentive, and engaging in conversation to authentically get to know you. I recommend partaking in a wine tasting to get a preview of them all. I will definitely be back!

Always an amazing experience! The owners are so welcoming, and the place is warm and inviting. It feels like walking into home. The wines are great! I haven't tried a bad one yet! I love going there any chance I get! And a bonus, you have the sweetest dogs to play with if you want!

Awesome park. Fun bike trail for all levels. Really cool bike maintenance station. Lots of activities for the family. Be careful of drivers they tend to go fast. Great location for hiking and riding bikes. Look for a new park to explore this might be a great option. Don’t forget to bring the helmet!!

We were camping at David Crockett State Park and I drove over to ride the trails. What a Gem!!! A very nice park with pavilions and picnic tables, lots of green area. The single track is superb! A bit of everything from cruising long the river, then steep sections, then back down again. Smooth tread, rocks, roots, boulders, man-made drop-offs with by-passes. It's a blast! The Columbia Cycling Club did a great job in laying out this much trail on limited land. There is a pump/skills track up the road beyond the trailhead, so don't load up your bike (like I did) until you give that a shot as well. Nice to see what can be accomplished when clubs and local govt/agencies work together.
R Taylor — Google review
We go here for the RC track. It could use a little more work to it but over all it's pretty good! Always clean. My only real concern is the parking situation for the rc park. Other than that, it's a really nice park.
Lisa Sharp — Google review
We really Enjoy hiking or biking on sunny mornings. Be aware of bikes coming by fast. Fun place with lots to do. Shelters and bathrooms available. They offer an obstacle course for bikers that is really fun for beginners. Area for Miniature Planes and cars. The water is great to enjoy during summer months to cool off after a long bike ride. Pretty extreme but awesome. Well maintained.

This is a great park to visit, they have bike trails and hiking trails, and a rc car race track. I love taking my dogs here for a hike!!! Its right on the duck river and some creeks always a beautiful sight on the trails.

We attend Girl Scout day camp here every summer. This year I noticed a lot of changes and upgrades to the cabin and the trails. Thanks for giving this park more attention. We love it!
Mandy Milan — Google review
Love riding here and some of the off-camber trails with drop offs are quite sketchy. Not for the faint of heart. And mostly good sweeping rides with some rock gardens and enough obstacles to make it interesting.
Art Blanchford — Google review
Great trails for biking or hiking. Lovely trails along the river. Beautiful area. No restrooms or playground at some of the parking areas/trailheads. Trails stay very wet and muddy after rain.

Great place for a walk or camping . Since last year n this year floods it looks better n more open n some great fishing spots have opened up n some good swimming areas if ur willing to go off the beaten path. But it's beautiful still . At this time of year it would be great for a paint ball game ...

Great Park to hike, bike, kayak and even do RC car racing. With Columbia growing and getting developed so fast, I think this park will become the "happening spot" or the "go to" place for families to relax and exercise. Maury county is great for business and for family! Can't wait to see what future brings!
Ivan Nekrasov — Google review
Awesome place to hike! And even better for MTB! There is a small "pump track" area with parking and a bathroom, and then trails all around the park. Some BIG obstacles with areas to go around if needed. Kids park, RC track, RC airfield and boat ramp for Duck River.
Bobby Martens — Google review
Cool place for a hike or a bike ride. Plenty of forks in the road, and if you're a biker there's plenty of options from the beginner to the expert. There's beautiful rivers, streams, and lakes that I'm sure will be even more beautiful in the warmer months. Great for families, dog friendly too. Boating available, has an RC park too. Trail goes on for miles. If you want to go for a walk or hike, head on out!
Rippavilla Plantation is a 19th-century manse that offers guided tours showcasing its original furnishings and antiques. Visitors can steep themselves in history while exploring the rich Greek-Revival architecture and beautiful grounds. The museum is a step through time that allows visitors to contemplate the long history of the plantation. For more information on this tourist destination, including traveler tips, ratings, and other places to visit, check out Franklin's online road trip planner.
It was my first visit and they are actively working to restore the beautiful building to its former glory. The tour was very informative and I'm excited to return to see the progress they are making! If you are thinking about visiting, do it to support the history and the restoration. The staff that we interacted with were wonderful and they are very passionate about their jobs so it is very much worth the price. They even suggested a coffee shop nearby called The Fainting Goat so stop there after!
Samantha Howe — Google review
Since my last visit the prices have doubled for a tour and the home has been completely emptied of period furnishings and family belongings.
New management does not mean it's good for the site.
Many long standing events that brought in guests from across the U.S. as well Cheairs family descendants and funds for this historic site were ended.
Laura B — Google review
We went on the Slavery & the Enslaved Tour and found it incredibly informative. Our guide, Kristi, was very knowledgeable about both Rippavilla specifically and the history of the area/Civil War/etc. broadly. We appreciated that the tour captured the human stories of this plantation and didn't gloss over the atrocity of slavery and its role in the Civil War. We learned a ton and plan to go back! The previous management company took basically all of the historical artifacts off of the walls when they left, so the current management (the Battle of Franklin Trust) is working on restoring the building in a historically accurate way.
Alissa Williams — Google review
Our tour guide, Bill, did an exceptional job detailing the Civil War events that happened at SpringHill specifically at Rippa Villa. I appreciated the sensitivity with which he spoke about the enslaved peoples for which the war was fought. The house is in restoration stage which doesn’t disappoint us since we’ve renovated historic homes and like to see the progress. If you are touring all three historic homes… Rippa Villa, Carter House and Carnton, I suggest you tour in that order (but you can go in any order). We are history buffs and we highly recommend all three of the tours. All three tour guides were the best we’ve experienced at any sites we’ve visited.
Shannon Shertzer — Google review
Our tour was awesome! The guide spilled the beans on so many cool facts and stories. Totally worth it, 100%! If you're around or get the chance, check out Ripavilla—it's a blast. Let's keep the history vibe alive!

My husband and I were traveling last week and took a tour of Rippavilla. Sheila was AWESOME! We enjoyed our visit. Thank you!
Michele Miller — Google review
We were looking for a plantation tour giving history, but not necessarily focusing on the grand plantation house. Rippa Villa was being remodeled and Christie gave a fantastic, informative tour. We spent time in the plantation house and also in the slave quarters, slave cemetery, and white cemetery. Extremely interesting. We enjoyed it!
Anthony Harder — Google review
Beautiful house, still a work in progress to return to mostly original condition. Our guide, Jennifer, did an outstanding job explaining the history of the family and events surrounding the area. She grew up in the area and has personal connection to the history of the area. Very entertaining tour.
Be sure to drive to the cemeteries for the family and slaves. A bleak time in the history of our country.
We purchased combo tickets for tours of three homes, Rippa Villa, Carnton House and Carter House.
Charles Jones — Google review
The Extended Tour of Rippa Villa was fantastic. Joseph was our tour guide and he eloquently wove together the history of the location, the family, pre-war sentiment, and the battle. He also explained how the events that took place along the Columbia Turnpike extend into the present. I recommend checking out “The Battle of Franklin Trust” YouTube channel if you want to prep yourself before you visit.

Very interesting property. Our tour guide was excellent. Very glad we saw this place.
Steve McDonald — Google review
We toured Rippavilla in 2019 and it was amazing! Best tour we've ever taken and we've taken a lot! The guides were knowledgeable and engaged in the subject, talking specifically about the house, the people who lived there, and about the surrounding area. The Battle of Franklin was mentioned as was slavery because they are a part of the history of the house but they weren't the only focus.
We took the tour again on Monday and the tour was terrible! The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because our guide and the gift shop gal were nice but that's the only thing it's got going for it. The house is gutted (given it's going through renovations) but there are maybe 5 pieces of furniture in the whole place. When I asked what furniture from before would be back in again after renovations I was told nothing. I asked at another museum that had pieces that we recognized from Rippavilla what happened and we were told the family and everyone who had leant pieces took them back because they didn't want to be associated with the Battle of Franklin Trust that is now in charge. Another guide on another tour confirmed it. They have an agenda behind what they are doing to this beautiful place and it's obvious which is sad. Photos attached are of how it used to look.
Kristina Spargo — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful. You become so immersed in this history, along with the beautiful grounds and rich Greek-Revival architecture. It's a step through time. Our gratitude to Rich, the guide who helped our group have such an immersive time.

Had a wonderful knowledgeable tour guide can tell he loved history. It was interesting to see and know a battle was on the property. There's is a slave grave and Graves of the owners of Rippavilla.
Retreat offering an inn, cabins, campsites, a golf course & a restaurant serving Southern fare.
What a cute state park and its so close to home too!
It has primitive camping, campings, motel style lodging, a restaurant, a store, several playgrounds, a walking trail and its located on the Duck River. What a great local get away to nature.
Sandra Dow — Google review
I came here to experience the Backcountry sites as I don't enjoy listening to an RV motor while I'm camping in a tent. First the good: beautiful trails, well maintained and marked. Different trails for different hiking levels and lengths. Both sites are great, site 2 you will see a bit more foot traffic than site 1, but site 1 currently has an outhouse smooshed by a tree (didn't bother me, I have a shovel. 🤷🏻♀️)
Slightly bad feedback: obviously of no fault to the park, but hearing a train in the back county takes away from the experience a bit. It's not super frequent, but definitely noticeable. Other small note is the trail is VERY VERY slick after a rain. Like very muddy, very slippery. 'slickernsnot' like my mom used to say 🤣
Otherwise, a beautiful location with cabins, a restaurant, all sorts of wetland exploration things. I'll be back.

Ok starting with check in and staff ,quick and very helpful / friendly with a small store that has most last minute stuff, the camp road and sites are all smooth blacktop with easy to read site numbers, the bathroom and shower houses ( there are two ) were very clean, and the best for last, most sites are level and large with a thick line of tree's separating the neighbors, the whole campground is covered with tall trees also they have a few nice hiking trail trails in the park.
I'm sure I left a lot out but I hope this is helpful.

Very nice park. Clean and well kept up. Shower houses were nice and clean also. Very quiet compared to some other parks we have stayed at. Lot was really nice and had more than enough space for all our stuff we bring with us.

River area is super busy on weekends most of the time. Great place for picnics and leashed pets! Hiking trails are well maintained but heavy foot traffic at times, especially on weekends. There are bins for trash and recycling.

Wow, customer service was top notch! Park was beautiful!
Shout out to Hannah Wallace! What a friendly young lady! I bought a bunch of water etc and was going to come back to pick it up as I was walking! She made arrangements with Ben Stanley who was kind enough to deliver it to my campsite!
Then, Bobbie Mitchell helped me with my motorcycle! Yeah, she is the bomb! I was looking for a guy to help me and her question was… could a woman manage it! Of course…we had no problem doing it together!
Biggest surprise…ride my bike out of the park 3.4 miles and broke down! Left it at a gas station… walked a bit and an suv from the park stopped and asked if I was okay! I mentioned I was walking back to the park as my bike broke down. Not only did Shaun Rainon take me back to the park, he dropped me off right at my site. I will definitely make a point of going back to this park! The trails were awesome, I don’t think there is a bad site in the park! Every employee I mentioned went over and above with a smile and a great attitude! So happy I spent a couple of days here! From Ontario, Canada!
Thank you!!

Beautiful state park, a little bit of something for everyone. A little bit away from the city of course, but worth the drive if you're looking to get into a more rural area. There is canoeing the duck River nearby and they do have a golf course on site in the park. I do recommend!

My husband and I embarked on another adventure, this time to Henry Horton State Park, specifically site 38. We eagerly arrived, but unfortunately, check-in wasn't until 12 PM. However, we made a quick stop at the General Store to complete the check-in process. The attendant there was incredibly friendly and provided us with valuable information about the park.
Upon entering the park, we were greeted by the breathtaking sight of leaves changing colors for the fall season. It truly was a picturesque landscape. The site we stayed at was particularly impressive, boasting an extra-wide space that was mostly level. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable, and we were pleased to find that water and electricity were readily available at our site.

If you’re looking for a place to get away from other hikers and enjoy your time in nature this is a much better option than say Fall Creek Falls and just as beautiful.
If you’re looking for “safety in numbers” hike one of the more popular destinations.
In a 3-4 mile hike I only came across 4/5 other small groups of 2.
It’s beautiful and well marked.
I parked at the camp ground store and hiked the river trail to the wetland loop, and back around again to the river trail back to the parking lot.
Trails are CLEARLY marked with color symbols attached that the trees.
The only mistake I made was leaving the observation tower I came off the stairs and continued walking on the trail in front of me. It led me to the backcountry trail but it was clear within a few minutes and I could look down at the river and see the correct trail. Just a careless mistake, but again the trail was marked with sign posts at important intersections.
It was a pretty flat and easy enough hike that would be easy enough for school age children (and it’s easy to shorten or park in a different lot on a different day or after lunch)
I’m not in great shape and considered it a decent workout. Didn’t have to really stop and catch my breath or pause. No big uphill climbs.
I really enjoyed seeing the wetlands from both sides and climbing the observation deck. Just watching the small birds work their way through the marsh grass was pretty neat.
Trails are VERY well defined. You aren’t going to wonder if it’s a park trail or a deer trail that leads into a swamp.
Great looking spot to camp. There are lots of amenities in the park itself from a restaurant, store and even a hotel and cabins.
Also offers golf course and a skeet range.
The bathroom even has free showers if you wanted to bring a kit to freshen up after a long hike.
Make sure to stop by and see Cotton the owl and (I think) Buddy the Red tail hawk next to the store in the campground.

This park has it all! Fishing, shooting range, golf, Frisbee golf, playgrounds, a pool, bird watching areas, a lodge, camping ( rv, and primitive/ tent camping) they even have hammock camping. They have a nice new restaurant, beautiful hiking trails, and more. Everything is fairly priced for what it is. I took my family here for the weekend and had a blast. We hiked on some very scenic trails, used the pool all day, and stayed in the lodge. The state staff is accommodating and friendly, professional, and speak well on the area. I highly recommend this place for a little family getaway.

Neat little, quiet state park. We stayed there in the off season. Pretty much the only people there. Pool was closed. It was such a nice environment, very calm and the complete opposite to the stress of the city.

This is a wonderful park to camp in! The tall trees provide lots of shade and keep the area cool. It does make it hard to get good Starlink connection, and cell coverage is restricted, but the park does try to provide Internet access through their own wifi network. The trails are well maintained and beautiful. Lots of wildlife activity like squirrels and red Robbins. Utilities are well regulated and easy to access. roads were easily traveled, with no problems getting a large vehicle through. Our vehicle is 40 ft long and 12.5 feet in height for a comparison. good luck with your camping experience here!

First time we ate at the new restaurant. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. My husband got the chicken strips and french fries. He said both tasted like they were fried in fresh oil. I got the mill hash and made it vegetarian by subbing impossible sausage. YUM!

There have been times we needed a tech and he was there...even offered to help after-hours and did! Wi-Fi is available for use and a projection screen with speakers are also available.

We took my 94 year old mother to see the Nashville Symphony play a free concert last night and she loved the whole experience. The accessibility for her wheelchair was great and the seat in the back row provided her with a great view.
The folks there were very accommodating and helped out tremendously from providing information to helping select her seat.
We are anxious to return for more shows in the future...

Meeting room 220 is average and quite functional for a small group. We had 15 people. Need a bigger room if you have group activities requiring a bit more physical room. Would have gotten 4 stars if there wasn't a limit on caterers allowed. There are only 2 caterers allowed, and they are, at best, mediocre.

The Renaissance players do an excellent job in their performances the several planes I have seen them put on over the years.
They make it a lot of fun and I always look forward to going to want to play. I will see Annie with my wife and December she loves Annie so I love Annie.
The Renaissance Center is a very stylish and nice place to visit very interesting and everyone that I have dealt with their that's been most nice. Keep up the good work

The Renaissance Center is a hidden gem in Dickson, even though most people know about this unusual looking building! We use it mainly for community theater, as it is home to the Renaissance Players! Their shows are phenomenal and feature amazing local talents. If someone is local and interested in theater or getting their child started in theater, this is the place! I do miss the other programs (the music classes, dance classes, and visual art classes) as they we're also amazing opportunities for our locals, but we are very blessed to have the theater programs housed here!
Recently moved to the area though I'm native to Middle TN, and am throughly impressed with this facility..they have a great staff and the homeschool PE day is exceptional. They do such a great job every week. Overall great experience, I highly recommend.

Located in Franklin, Tennessee, Carnton is home to the McGavock Confederate Cemetery and a historical place museum with tours of the house and grounds. The porch at Carnton is where visitors can learn about the area's Civil War history through tours with production and design manager Brad Kinnison.
Carnton Plantation is an exceptionally storied home rich in Civil War history and well restored with original furnishing of the owners and period correct pieces. The guided tour is really exciting and in such detail to make you feel you were present at battle of Franklin. Leah, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the Plantation's family and their history. If you enjoy Civil War history or simply want to tour an old, well maintained and furnish 1830's-1860's mansion, you don't want to miss this place. Due to all the fragile antiques and nature of the tour, this not the best activity for young children. There is ample parking, a large vistors center and gift shop.

Very cool historical site. My parents and I went with my 11 month old twins for the basic tour. It was $18 a person. There were several other people there and I had to carry the babies because no strollers or anything are allowed in the house due to all the antique furniture and stuff in there. I only got to see two rooms before I had to leave and give the babies a snack. The rooms were beautiful and all period correct with actual belongings from the house loaned by family members. The tour guide was very informative, my parents said upstairs and downstairs was really neat. I missed most of the tour but one of the employees was really sweet and gave me a little booklet thing so I could read and look at pictures of what I missed. If you pay for the basic tour you can still walk the grounds to see the garden, slave house, smoke house, spring house etc by yourself. The ground was hilly and bumpy so I wouldn't recommend pushing a stroller on it. Everything is maintained well and there are several signs explaining what things are. Right next door is the Confederate and McGavock family cemetery (including some of the slaves). The cemetery has several signs with information about it. Pretty sad past but very interesting. There's also a gift shop there where you buy your tour ticket. I wouldn't suggest bringing any small children here because they will be bored and it will be a struggle keeping them from touching things. Anyone handicapped would have a hard time you with all the standing and steep stairs to go upstairs plus all the walking outside. They have bathrooms right by the gift shop that were mostly clean.

Amazing historic house tied to the Battle of Franklin. Emily, our guide, was incredible, sharing stories. This house served as a hospital during the battle; you can still spot some of the scars! Be sure to explore the grounds, read the markers—such a captivating tale! Imagine, 40,000 soldiers surrounded this family home during the battle. In just five hours, 9,500 soldiers on both sides were affected—mind-blowing stats! Don't miss learning about the cemetery's history.
Very clean bathrooms. Bet the gardens look amazing in the spring/summer!

We walked the grounds and read the markers. Such a fascinating story. This family home was surrounded by 40,000 soldiers during the Battle of Franklin. After just five hours 9,500 American soldiers on both sides had either been killed, were wounded or were missing. The numbers are staggering. Be sure to read about the women of the area, including Sarah Gaunt and learn about the history of the cemetery. Clean bathrooms. The grounds were stroller and walker friendly. Gardens must be beautiful in the spring/summer.

We did the plantation and battlefield tour and it was very interesting and informative. Our tour guide was Joseph and he did a fabulous job on taking a trip back in time and our group wasn’t very big but we marched a very short distance in linear formation across a small area of the battlefield and he was describing the tense moments being under a artillery barrage and me and my fiancée loved it. We will return again, great experience very polite staff in the gift shop and Joseph rocked!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Hannah Jacobs and the girls at Carnton weddings and events. Phenomenal staff and planner. Hannah is accommodating, kind, gets the job done without asking anything (she just takes action and handles all situations and problems effortlessly taking stress off couples getting married.) One of the best experiences I have had at a venue while being the wedding photographer. I absolutely loved getting to photograph and be apart of the vendor team of Carnton for our couple's day. Such a fun group of people who are ready to make wedding day dreams come true. I would recommend not only Carnton but Hannah to ALL of my clients. She is a wonderful person and wedding planner and so organized.

WONDERFUL! Our guide, Sheila, not only knew lots of facts and history, but she weaved in the personal stories, too. She really helped me understand the battle here and the family’s role. The home has been restored in a beautiful manner. Wide open grounds to explore with markers around. Be sure to check out the cemetery and walk through the garden.
It saves a few dollars to buy the combination ticket for here and Carter House nearby. Both worth a visit.

Excellent experience. Great tour. Interesting and informative. I learned some things. I won’t share all and I’ll let you experience this new knowledge yourself but do you know that Canton Plantation isn’t really a plantation, it’s a {blank}. What makes it {blank} is that instead of one cash crop it had more than one. Which ones? Well you better go find out.

Beautiful place, just don't ask the tour guide any questions. It's basically a quiet, guided tour where you listen. No interaction. The historical tour was rushed. I think if you pay this much money to go on a guided tour, your tour guide should know or be willing to answer questions at the end of her rehearsed script that they are reciting as we enter in each room. There should be a little bit of time for discussion or questions instead of feeling rushed from room to room. There are so many artifacts in every room that there's no time to actually look at them all because they only point out a certain few, and you're moving along. There wasn't a bunch of people waiting in line for a tour so we didn't need to rush. We bought the ticket package so hopefully the Carter house will be better.

We had a wonderful tour today of the house and grounds. Our tour guide was excellent. He was so informed and engaging. The group on our tour asked many questions from quizzical children to inspiring adults. We also enjoyed the book store. It provided a balanced approach in its offerings and quality. Thank you so much. Fascinating! If there was anything that I would add would be to give slaves their due by mentioning the quality of workmanship when building the house.

What an outstanding tour guide! I wish I had gotten his name, but the gentleman that hosted our tour was an amazing story teller and clearly enjoyed history.
The house and grounds are outstanding as well. Having just come off a rushed and non-interactive tour of the Hermitage, we sure appreciated this place! If you’ve got to choose between the two for some reason, come here.

The McGavock Confederate Cemetery in Franklin, Tennessee sits beside Carnton House and is the resting place for around 1,500 soldiers who died during the Battle of Franklin. The cemetery's two acres are arranged according to the states represented by these soldiers. I'll never travel to Nashville without this trip planner again
Carter House is a restored 1830s home that served as a Civil War command post. During the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864, the Carter family huddled in the basement waiting for gunfire to stop. The house is now a state historic site and visitors can learn about the battle from artifacts on display.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of The Carter House. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was quick to answer our many questions. She told us about the horrific battle that took place on the grounds of the property. She pointed out the bullet holes in the walls and furniture. I took photographs of the outside and of the grounds. They do not permit pictures to be taken inside of the big house. They do allow photos to be taken in the small house and log house. From the inside one of them, you can see the enormity of the bullets fired. If you are in the area, you won’t regret checking it out.

This is a great little gem tucked into Franklin. It’s a rather simple tour, but the tour guide (Sheila) made the specific battle story come alive. She knew her history, explained it with clarity, connected with her group, and made it a memorable experience.

The tour was $20 and incredibly informative (it started at 2:15pm and took at least an hour), lots of dates, names and details. Great tour guide who really cares about accuracy over embellishment, much appreciated!
As posted, pictures were not allowed inside the Carter House but we took several photos of the grounds and exteriors of buildings.
The home is going to have some paint work done in the near future to more closely match colors of that timeline. Walking in the basement was neat, they had chairs lined up around the perimeter for each person that had been documented as taking shelter there (including the Lotz family from across the street), so that was a heck of a visual.

A beautiful historic house on a very tragic piece of land. Caught between the Union and Confederates fighting for Franklin. You can still see the bullet holes and the cannon ball that struck the house and the work office. Very haunting. The tour was very good and I enjoyed it. Downfall is you're not allowed to take pictures inside the house.

Cool to see, but they tell a revisionist version of the history that includes some pretty funny outright lies. As an example they’ll tell you there were no black confederate soldiers, despite pictures of and monuments to them existing. Soon they’ll probably start telling people the burning of Atlanta was a myth too. If you have to choose go to Elm Springs in Columbia, a short drive south from there
Lotz House Museum is a historic house museum in Franklin, Tennessee that has exhibits about the history of the Civil War and German immigrants.
If you are interested in American history you will enjoy touring his house. The man who built it was a wood worker and he used this house to showcase his talent. The staircase is beautifully made as well as many other details in the home. The house was located in the middle of the historic Battle of Franklin. There are still bullet holes in the house. They don’t allow photos to be taken inside. They have a gift shop if you would like to purchase a souvenir.

3 stars because We got stuck with Kelly. The history of the Lotz house and the house itself was great. Our experience not so much. From the beginning with just paying for our tickets she was smiley and bubbling but also passive aggressive in her tone and wording. We saw one price oone but she was telling us a different price. We had our children with us who are big into history and do so well at these types of events. We visit a lot of houses/museums and never had an issue. They asked her a few questions. It seemed to have been a bother to her. She was so passive aggressive it was almost unbearable. Even other adults on the tour couldn’t believe how she responded.
She told other people in the tour not to touch or lean on anything even against a solid wall (which we get) but yet she leaned on wall after wall as she talked. As an adult I asked her a question which I turn she gave a very passive aggressive and stupid answer to a question I didn’t ask. Had she listened and heard what I was asking, there would have been no need for her comments. If it was not for the “all sales final, we would have asked for a refund and left.”
She also kept putting her hands on my kids and touching them. So weird for never having met them.
We overheard the other tour going on and that gentleman was fantastic. He also chatted with us before and after and was so great!
If you go, I would ask for the make tour guide. Especially if you have children.

This evening my 13 year old daughter and I took the Women’s History Tour at the amazing Lotz House. I’ve been on Kelly’s day time tour of the home before, so I knew it would be great, but I was absolutely blown away by the evening tour! She is incredibly knowledgeable and easily brought to life some incredible women of Franklin, as well as a few others who weren’t from the area, but have had a great impact on our country. I really appreciated how she talked about the seemingly mundane aspects of life that relate to all of us today, to sharing some of the fantastic stories that were these women’s’ lives and experiences! On the way home, my daughter couldn’t stop talking about what she learned and how much she enjoyed the tour-and coming from a teenager, I think that alone speaks volumes! I grew up in Franklin and tonight Kelly gave me a new appreciation and love for my hometown. So thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us this evening, Kelly, and I sure hope this tour is an opportunity that more people will take advantage of, whether they live in the area or are visiting!

The place is so relaxing and beautiful with awesome landscapes and views. Although there is a negative behavior at the checkout “counter.” They took away from us part of our belongings and then did not return them or took any responsibility, they just trashed them away. I didn't get pictures of the main area but I did of the barn. The grounds are beautiful, the red wines are delicious, the family styled areas are great if you bring the kids. I do wish there were a few more shaded areas just because of how hot it was but I understand not wanting to take away from the area. If you do wish to do a tasting book early as it does sell out but it's definitely worth it.

Interesting set up. While it would be awesome on a warm day to bring your own snacks and snag a bottle if it’s chillier and your only in for a flight of wine it’s a different experience than a traditional winery. You are only allowed one flight of wine and kinda just shoveled through to purchase it and find a seat. I believe you can reserve a more private tasting if you are wanting more education. Overall wine was tasty.

This is such a beautiful site. We stopped by an Amish place on the way and picked up good eats to make a picnic at the winery. The winery staff are quite pleasant and offer good information on choosing a wine for the afternoon. The rolling hills and vast numbers of picnic tables offer plenty of space for scenery gazing while enjoying wine and food. The winery has very good wines and we selected a bottle of red for our picnic. Perfect. Strong recommendation to visit this place - but plan for the time to enjoy a bottle and see the country hills view.

why? We found a hair in our food which was disgusting, so, if you consider to eat in that place , I would suggest you to bring your food well prepared from home.
WINE:
variation of wines offered, dry, sweet, etc.... prices are acceptable because wine flavors are enjoyable and not bad quality, so , well recommended the purchase.

I have nothing but kind things to say about this place. From the moment we parked our truck there was a gentleman on a golf cart ready to drive us up the hill. When getting our wine flights, they were super helpful on making sure we received the wine flight that best suited our taste. It was a perfect daytime stop for my Bachelorette Party. I would love to bring my fiancé in the future because he loves wine just as much as me. (:
We had the best time zip lining with Tyler and Holly as our guides! They were great with our young son and, everyone in general-super sweet and super knowledgeable! I would recommend this for anyone visiting the area!!

It was my first time ever going zip lining. Me and my husband decided to go on the night adventure in Kingston Springs. Let me take a minute to brag on the amazing crew we had the pleasure of spending the time with. Tyler, Lexie and Joe were funny, great attitudes, fun, helpful and we truly enjoyed the time with them. We highly recommend going to adventure works and asking for these three. You won't regret it. We will be goin to their other locations asap.

Our kids had an awesome time ziplining as part of a birthday party! The ziplines were fast & fun! Brian was fantastic with the kids keeping things upbeat & fun! I felt confident that all safety procedures were followed and prioritized. The park is perfectly tucked back from the road giving you a true nature experience. We will definitely be back!

We had a great time zipping thru the trees. IT is shady and lovely. The zip lines are pretty cool...not the highest or fastest I've ever been on, but for only $60 you get almost 2 hours of zipping. The guides were great and very helpful. It was completely safe.

Went full moon zip lining here and had a blast. Only ten zip lines, but the cool factor was that it’s at night, they do a tandem run, there are glow sticks involved, and the people running it are really laid back. We had a great time!!!

You can't go wrong with Adventureworks. The whole experience was incredible. Mike was an amazingly fun (and funny) guide. My whole family - 6'5" me, my scared-of-heights-wife, and my two kids (5 1/2 and almost 8) - were blown away by our adventure in the trees. You're sure to leave happy and with great memories!

We did the Moonlight Zip lining and it was so much fun, our instructors/guides (Mary & Colin) were great fun, very experienced, were very organized and kept things moving. They even had glow sticks for everyone so we could see each other in the dark... Was such a laugh, the whole experience.... My only recommendations would be to take a small flashlight, use the bathroom at the gas station in town before you get there (bathrooms have no power or running water) as super creepy in the dark!! And tip your guides at the end, they deserve it, and have a great time.

Went canoeing here. I haven't had this much fun in a long while.... The float lasted about 3 hours after drop off. The views were so pretty and peaceful... Then came several rapids... Class 1... Maybe class 2. Very doable for a newbe! Both my date and I were both incredibly sore after paddling for three hours... Did see several snakes... AFTER that workout and then a hot shower... Out to dinner ! What an incredible day! Worth every sore muscle ache... Can't wait to go again!!!!

We had an awesome time on the river using foggy bottom. We caught about 25 fish all together and everything was great! Very professional business and will 100 % recommend using Foggy Bottom. Water was so nice, cold , and the scenery was amazing.

Very efficient and friendly and they have very colorful kayaks so it's easy to find. Drop you off in one area and then you end a few minutes walk from where you parked. It gets crowded on the weekends so try to get their early or have a reservation.
Jonathan Espiritu — Google review
No shuttle back. Must walk along us-70 (speed limit 65 mph) with no shoulder to return their jackets and paddles. Not safe for young children. We were not told until we got out with our kayaks. Not a long walk, by any means, but the traffic was heavy enough to not be safe with our kids.

I've been coming here since I was a child (late 90s, early 2000s). Nothing has changed in all the years I've been coming here. Great service, great country people, reasonable prices for rentals. I've never had a problem coming here.
Sean Grimes — Google review
There is no point in booking a reservation.
Fun Experience - had to wait a while to get in the river though. We had a reservation and took two hours to actually finally get in the water. An hour wait for the ride to the river and an hour ride to actually get in the river. Either get there 1.5hrs before you actually want to get in the water, or stand around for at least an hour.
Foggy Bottom isn't the only kayaking/canoeing rental place that uses the same drop off zone. There were at least two other rental companies using the same drop off.
Otherwise - was super fun! Relaxing, the water only got maybe three feet deep. Probably took about 3 hours to complete.

My daughter and I had so much fun. The prices are reasonable and this was our first time trying anything like this, but it was worth the adventure. We canoed this time. Next time we will kayak.

This was a fun float! If you avoid the rocks you'll have a great time 😅. Staff was very helpful and nice. Taking off one star because our kayaks were all dirty on the inside where you sit. A simple hosing off of the kayaks would fix this issue. Other than that, our experience was great!
Belle Meade Plantation is a plantation house and estate dating back to the 1840s, designed in the Greek Revival architectural style. It encompasses a vast 5,400-acre property that includes a thoroughbred horse farm, an original homestead, and a deer park. The centerpiece of the estate is a well-preserved Greek Revival Mansion, which now operates as a museum dedicated to preserving Tennessee's rich Victorian architecture and history.
Do you like history, bourbon, and wine??? I highly recommend this if you’re in Nashville. We started with a private bourbon tasting. Laura was a great hostess and provided interesting information. She definitely has a bright future in the adult beverage industry! We concluded our time sit a tour of the mansion and a wine tasting. Anastasia was a great tour guide and well educated on interesting history. If you take a mansion tour, you get a free wine tasting as well. Their tasting room is cute with many great candy/wine options. If you want the full experience, I would plan 2-3 hours of your day. We didn’t get to do a food pairing or try their meats but I hope to on our next trip. Cheers!

We loved this attraction. We thought it was so informative. A lot of history and the mansion tour was good. Only thing I would say is they would need to have tours spaced out more. Because sometimes it was hard to hear the tour guide while other tour was upstairs which was little annoying and hard to hear. But overall we love this tour and experience. Definitely buy tickets in advance. Free wine tasting after tour which was cool

Beautiful mansion and grounds. The tour of the mansion was very informative and the guide was happy to answer questions. A lot of history was covered in a short amount of time. The staff seem truly interested in discovering more of the history as well. A wine tasting was included as part of the ticket. Ended up taking home the carriage house white.
A great place to relax among magnolia trees and take in the rich history.

We did the plantation and mansion tours today ($45 combo). If you only choose one, do the mansion tour because you cannot enter the mansion otherwise but you can see the plantation grounds on your own and read the plaques scattered about. Casey was our tour guide and he was great. We were there 2.5 hours and had plenty of time to see everything, including wine tasting.

Enjoyed our day touring the beautiful mansion and enjoying the grounds. Our tour guide, Diana, was knowledgeable and charming. I could listen to her tell the history of this lovely home all day! The tour ended with wine tasting and We purchased a bottle of the Blackberry wine. You can enjoy the wine anywhere on the property which was so relaxing.

Step back in time with knowledgeable guides who walk you through this beautiful mansion. Uncovering the story of the Harding family and all they went through to get this place up and running. Finding out about the horses who sired so many winners over the years through the bloodline of horses at Belle Meade. The grounds are gorgeous with much to see and learn. Went with family who were not to keen on going but all enjoyed it at end of the day.

This is a great place if you enjoy history and wine. The mansion is a great place to learn about the generations who lived there including the owners and the slaves. It is rich in history, and the wines are amazing! They also had live music when we were there. The Meat & Three restaurant has great food options. It is a cafeteria style dining. You pick the foods you want and seat yourself. Overall great place to spend some time.

We enjoyed one of the family tours that Belle Meade offers - the tea time tour. As this was a new tour we were lucky enough to be the only ones on it! Kelsey was an awesome tour guide who took time to answer any questions we had. She has immense historical knowledge. After the tour we went to an upper floor balcony where a tea party was set up with cookies and different teas. Lemonade was also available. We were showed the 'proper' ways that tea was enjoyed back in the day and had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves while music played in the background. I would highly recommend this tour to all families!

Visited Belle Meade as a family with a small child. We enjoyed learning about the rich history of both the site and the state. It was wonderful to discover some kid-friendly activities, such as mini-golf and croquet, for when the history and walking got to be too much. All the food between the ice cream shop and the restaurant was delicious, but especially the ice cream and carrot cake. The only disappointment was discovering we paid a $25 premium to purchase a bottle of the Belle Meade Reserve Bourbon. After paying for admission, one would hope for a small discount, or at the very least, the same price as at the liquor store. My suggestion would be to skip buying it from here, and just get it when you get home.

Relaxing property! We did the wine and bourbon tasting and toured the grounds! Non-profit and proceeds from sales go directly to maintaining this amazing spot. A former stud ranch, you can explore the history as you walk the site. Say hi to the horses and walk the whole site. Lots of buildings and historical information abound!

My husband and I attended the bourbon tasting that they offer on the plantation and it was the highlight of our trip to Nashville! The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, you can feel the history that this place holds.
The tasting is held in the circular ice room and is about an hour long of tasty bourbon and a fun history lesson. They are very detailed and respectful to the history of the place. At the end we made the best old fashioned I have ever had. I liked that we were able to order items we had seen and tasted straight from the paper menu we were given and taking it to the winery to pick up.
We will definitely be back next time we visit Nashville.

This historic site is absolutely beautiful. It features a plantation home with rich history. There is also wine tasting with a friendly and energetic staff. We bellied up to the bar insidd the gift shop for our tasting, but i noticed that they had other wine tastings outdoors to help spread out the crowds. Theu have a wide variety of wines, we ended up purchasing two different types and also some delectable chocolates. It was very pleasant to walk around the grounds. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. We had a great time!

It was nice, but felt quite short and missing something... trying to figure out what it is...
Unfortunately, they don't allow to take pictures inside of the mansion. But it was very dark inside anyway and not that big.
Wine tasting and bourbon tasting are definitely big attractions for tourists, also they do weddings and have a couple of nice spaces for the ceremonies.
The history was quite interesting. The slavery part is very sad.
I am comparing with the plantation we visited in Charlston, SC and this one wasn't close to it...
However, it is definitely worth a visit.

We did the Grounds Only Admission and enjoyed a complimentary wine tasting. We got a glass of wine to go and walked around the property. The property was beautiful, with so much to see and explore. There was even a little game area outside with cornhole. We grabbed a bite to eat at The Belle Meade Meat & Three. All employees on the property were super nice and welcoming. We enjoyed touring the Belle Meade mansion and grounds. The tour of the mansion was very informative, and our tour guide seemed very knowledgeable of the property. We learned a lot about the history of the property and grounds. The included wine tasting was a bonus and was a great way to end the tour.
We were able to roam around the grounds and see the stables, winery, cabins, and other parts of the historic site. If you are in the area, I strongly encourage you to make a reservation and visit. They have free on-site parking which is a plus.

I surprised my wife with a tour at Belle Meade. She absolutely loved it and was overwhelmed with the tour. We were able to take our time and walk the property. There were many opportunities for pictures. Our tour guide for the mansion was informative and at times very funny (which we loved). The property is also a winery so there was an opportunity to experience wine tasting. We purchased some chocolates and sat outside relaxing. We regret we didn't get to eat at the meat and three. The mansion is gorgeous! Truly loved the wine tasting and we bought 2 bottles! The grounds are just lovely and we enjoyed roaming and learning even more. Highly recommended...maybe not so much for little kids, as the tour is 45 minutes long and kind of restrictive for little ones.

We really enjoy seeing different historical sights. Wife picked this one out and I had no idea what to expect. Turns out this was an interesting tour, an opportunity to learn, a time to reflect with meaningful conversations during the tours. Do yourself a favor, do more than the basic tour and wine tasting. Definitely do those (awesome) but try another option too. Might be worth your time. We met very nice people working here and enjoyed talking with others on the tour. Very cool and interesting time. My 4 year old daughter absolutely LOVES this place! We spend hours here playing around. There’s SO many little things to do, from the art center, to the farmers market. The kitchen is so realistic and teaches children the art of multitasking with cooking, laundry, and taking care of the babies all at the same time. The water table, grocery store and doctors play station always grab her attention. It’s very well managed with helpful staff and is always clean regularly. Thank you for providing such a fun place for the kids!

The water play area inside is really cool. My kid loved it. I'd say about 80% (AT LEAST and that's probably being generous) of the exhibits were broken. The outside water area is really pretty. The staff was pretty friendly for the most part. It was a bit smaller than I expected. I will take my kids back for the water area and maybe the slide (although it isn't super slick if youre wearing jeans), but likely not anything else.

Great place for young kids. My 3 year old loved it and didn't want to leave. My 7 year old finished and got tired of it pretty quickly. Geared more towards kids around 6 and under. Everything seemed clean. I saw someone mopping up the water play area while we were there so it's good to see them actively keeping it clean and dry. Paw patrol exhibit was fun.

Very fun place for kids of all ages.
For kids 5 and under, there is a tiny town with little shops and play tasks kids can creatively have fun with. Like, at the post office they have a postal workers safety vest, mail bag and pieces of mail and then there are various mailboxes around the town that the "mail" can be delivered to.
There is a second floor available via stairs or elevator. A large enclosed spiral slide can be used by the children to get back down to the first floor.
There is a small gift shop, no food or beverage options.
Though it was a really fun experience, especially for my 2 year old, it would have been even more impressive if each part of every activity were in working order. It seemed like there was some maintenance needed across the facility to make it an even more magical experience.

We were visiting family in the Boro the day before Thanksgiving. We're from Charlotte, NC. Everyone had recommended Discovery Center for our grandchildren, ages 1.5 and 5. They loved it! The water play area, all the Paw Patrol exhibits, a good diaper-changing area and a nice gift shop. It was our 1st visit here and we will be back. Thank you for the fun! It kept us 2 grandparents on our toes!

This place has the potential to be a great place for kids to learn and explore, but there are lots of things that are broken and all of the things to play with are well used and filthy. It needs a deep clean all over and under. However, I do understand that most children today aren’t taught to take care of things, so this center is probably just a victim of society. An additional note….the staff was reluctant to help when needed.
Stones River National Battlefield is a 570-acre park and cemetery that features well-marked trails and a visitor center, which provides information about the Civil War battlefield. The visitor center was designed to teach visitors about the site's history while remaining respectful towards fallen soldiers and apolitical. The National Park Service did an excellent job of presenting the information without bias towards any side of the battle - there was no mention of which party emerged victorious.
A very nice day for a visit. The driving tour is great, but it is walkable and great for bicycles. Something for everyone of all ages. Sites are well marked and easy to find. There is a self guided audio tour which is very helpful. Also very sobering to think of the number of casualties. You can spend as little or as long as you like exploring the park. Download the National Park Service app before you go.

Really great national historic site with a lot of intentionality put into capturing the history and events that took place. A few monuments that you were able to go see (accessible by walking) definitely add to the experience. This is a park that enables you to stop by on a day trip to Murfreesboro and is generally accessible by car. There’s pretty great biking infrastructure, and a visitor center that allows visitors to walk through a chronological record of “Hell’s Half Acre”
Zak Myers — Google review
Well designed visitor center that allows you to learn about the site and battle while also remaining respectful to the fallen soldiers and remaining apolitical. The NPS did a nice job of presenting this without a prejudice for one side being better or worse--specifically I didn't recall seeing any information on which side won the battle.
It's about 8 minutes from the interstate and you can enjoy the full visitor center experience in as little as 30 minutes.

If you are looking for a outing with the family or just want to get out and learn about the civil war and the struggles these men went through. This place is one of the largest battles and most causalities occurred in a short three day period. It’s humbling to walk amongst the soldiers graves and see the many that gave their lives during the battle.
They have a guided tour you can take or you can go in your vehicle and drive among the trail to the actual battlefield places.Such a great trip for learning and seeing what they went through.

We are always pursuing more passport stamps! My kids enjoyed the Visitor Center and the drive through the battleground and past the Stone River National Cemetery. We saw 4 wild turkeys as we drove in and they "talked back" when my girls called to them "Gobble, gobble, gobble!" Junior Ranger activity books are free for kids, and completing one will earn them a badge. We spent some time (and money) in the gift shop... a bird guide, a couple children's books, Christmas ornament, and more stickers to stamp for our forgotten at home passport! Also there was a book for Family Activities. I do recommend as a great place to visit and learn some history and about local wildlife. There is a short educational film that shows reenactments (including head wounds and dead bodies) my girls found this a bit upsetting and said, "I hate wars, they make people die!" In my opinion, that's an excellent take away! I enjoyed the quotes from Ed Abbott.

Just stumbled onto this on our trip as we were making a stop in Murfeesboro and had some downtime to be able to visit this battlefield. Neat little battlefield that is very accessible to walk around, drive to and spend an easy 1-2 hours here tops.
You will not be spending hours and hours here to see everything but for a a battlefield I didn't know exist before visiting, it was worth a little detour to get out and stretch our legs.

This park is awesome. Unfortunately, the history behind it is not, but the presentation of the history and historical facts at the time is just great. It is also horrifying at times to realize what those soldiers went through.
I highly recommend taking in the whole park. It is truly an experience. The slaughter pen is unbelievable, especially when you realize the horrifying battle that occurred there.
The folks at the visitor center were extremely helpful and friendly.
Do not miss out on this park for sure if you are in the area.

I appreciated that it was possible to visit this despite not having a lot of time. I was able to complete the visitor center and 5 of the outdoor sites in about 1.5 hours.
The rock formations in the Slaughter Pen were interesting.

Tucked into a city, this is a great place to see nature. I was surrounded by deer the morning I was there. As far as following the battle, it's not the easiest place to do so. If you have knowledge of the battle then what you see and walk/drive to would make some sense. There are very few plaques and almost no monuments. The visitor center is nice and the rangers there are very knowledgeable. Having the natl. Park app helps to follow along some of the high points that are preserved within the park.

We did the booklets for junior rangers- ages 13-6 and it was fun. The books will be updated to the park for better outlining they stated, as it was a bit all over the place where to find the clues. The staff were super friendly & engaging. We absorbed history & discussed many aspects of war and the struggles as well as that each longed for home. They had audio to listen to writings. The only downfall we had was the field being sprayed where the tombstones were and figuring how to maneuver out without inhaling or getting on shoes. Cross walks have buttons you press to alert passing street to different portions to the park. Very clean bathrooms and great gift shop. Highly recommend the park.

We will have to come back on a warmer day to walk the trails, but the driving tour was fun and perfectly fit the hour of free time we had while in the area. The visitors center was informative and rangers were friendly and helpful.

Humbling to say the least, a great spot loaded with history. An interesting multi stop tour of the battlefield, a cemetery, a nice museum & gift shop.

The visitors center was great! We were greeted with a smile and given a map. We toured the small museum which was very informative and nicely laid out. The outdoor area had a a few monuments and fields but left a lot to be desired. I definitely recommend if you enjoy taking a walk and learning about history.

The Oaklands Mansion is a historical plantation that once housed both Confederate and Union soldiers. Nowadays, it offers visitors the chance to take tours and participate in various activities. The estate boasts stunning grounds with plenty of picturesque shade, making it an ideal location for photography or peaceful strolls. The mansion itself is a beautiful example of architecture from its time period and well worth exploring. Visitors can benefit from the informative guides who are happy to answer any questions and offer the freedom to explore at their own pace.
For years Oakland Mansion has hosted high quality events at their beautiful venue. The staff is always professional and kind. James Manning has also taken great care to tell the history of the site and brought forth the stories and voices of the enslaved persons who lived there.
It is the gem of our downtown area and the perfect place for events, walking or a picnic.

Great experience photographing my daughter and her friends here before prom. The positioning of this property is perfect for sunset golden hour photos, with beautiful flowers, a grassy yard, a small garden, and great shade backgrounds. I love taking photos of family and friends here.

This will be the third year I’ve worked on an event with Oakland Mansion and every year they never cease to amaze me. The head of house coordinators are consistently quick and clear with communication, and always willing to be flexible when problems inevitably arise. Will for sure be keeping them at the top of my roster for event bookings. Would absolutely suggest for special occasions!

Super nice people and one beautiful house! Just be sure to contact them to make sure that they're not booked for a private event or closed over being short staffed before visiting.

We just had our wedding at Oakland's mansion and it was amazing! Definitely recommend getting married here if you appreciate simple elegance and a historical venue. We fell in love with the beauty of the venue when we first toured it and the reception hall was a perfect size for our smaller guest count. Our wedding was outside on the grounds with the mansion as the backdrop and happy hour was behind the mansion with pretty hanging lights. We received so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was. Connor was wonderful to work with, he helped me through the whole process of having our wedding at Oaklands and he answered all my emails so quickly. He also met with me multiple times in person to go over specific wedding details. He has a very calming presence that is much appreciated when you are stressed planning a wedding! Highly recommend choosing this venue, you won't regret it!

I was supposed to have my wedding here. We had set the date and we waiting to put down a deposit this coming week. Until today, when I got a message saying that the venue had been booked for our wedding date the ENTIRE TIME and that it was in fact not going to be available. This was a conversation we had for months and we’re told our date was opened. Not only was I disappointed but I was left with absolutely no backup options. Extremely unprofessional and frustrating. I would definitely ask to see their calendar yourself, because clearly they cannot read it.

$10 admission to go through the museum. Very Informative, long, fascinating, and interesting. I thought it was worth the price per person. The building was beautiful to see up close. Many photographers were there. I definitely would like to revisit in the summer for pictures and for a nice picnic.

Nashville is blessed to have this beautiful park in the middle of the city. There’s enough parking to support an entire music fest. The trees 🌲 mostly cover the walking track so you can walk even before sunset. Sometimes you can find ice cream trucks or food trucks there. They also occasionally have fairs or festivals here. A couple of musicians practice there occasionally, and I love the presence of music around. I have also found some artists paint under the tree. Overall, it’s a very uplifting atmosphere.

One of my favorite parks in the city! it’s like a oasis in the middle of all the hustle bustle. something for everyone and all ages to do or just sit around and enjoy the glory of the massive Parthenon. It has playgrounds, picnic areas, a beautiful lake and mother nature in all its glory! I think it’s a must visit if you are in Nashville!

I really enjoy this park as I always come here when visiting Nashville! It’s pretty safe to walk around and enjoy the scenery! Not too far from Vanderbilt which you can see their football stadium from afar! I highly recommend visiting to enjoy a good outing even if it snows like I did when I visited!

This park is the continuation of the very beautiful Parthenon, very well cared for. A great place to walk, talk, take beautiful photos, see animals and even ride a swing. I would like to see the detail of a photo that can be taken with the background of the tower of the University of Knoxville.

Beautiful lake, walking paths, and monuments located outside of The Parthenon. There is plenty of parking, which I believe is free. A great place to slow down and just enjoy nature!

It's okay. Flat, has a lake (looks man made but might not be) and has lots of cement pathways. About the best part of the park are all the statues and history, and of course the Parthenon. It's worth a walk-around if you are waiting on the Parthenon to open, but is otherwise not so interesting. Perfect place to host events due to the wide open flat grass areas.

Beautiful and historic place. Perfect place for a picnic and they have a playground for kids. Even if I didn’t visit the Parthenon seeing the statues around was really cool and I learned new things.

Incredible location. 10/10 recommend paying for the museum. WOW. Paintings, sculptures, a massive statue, historical artifacts, and more. I come back every time I’m in Nashville because it’s so awe-worthy…the grounds are gorgeous, free parking all over, easily accessible, and a beautiful destination to spend the day. Very kid and family friendly, but plenty of people enjoying it on their own. Seems to be the perfect location for a picnic on the stairs or in the grass!

Very nice large open green space with the Parthenon as the center of attention. Tours available for $10 or you can visit the gift shop for free. Many other mini attractions within the park to visit at no charge. Check out a free map of the park on Google for more info. Lots of beautiful statues and walking spaces. A nice dog park just across the street (they still call it within Centennial Park, but drove myself nuts looking for it). Lots of shade. Awesome place to walk, read or jog or tour for the day! Also a stop on the Hop On, Hop Off Trolley Tour!

Centennial Park offers a beautiful lush environment in close proximity to the downtown area of Nashville. I decided to work from my laptop while enjoying a hot dog and a calming lake view. Parking was plentiful when I visited which only made the experience better. All in all a great way to spend leisure time and enjoy a breath of fresh air. Having the Parthenon as a backdrop only makes it better!

Large, beautiful park with paved paths for walking/running and open green areas for sports, games, picnics, or just relaxing. Has an impactful monument dedicated to women's suffrage, as well as a full scale reproduction of the Parthenon. Inside, the goddess Athena is heralded. Has an open ampitheator for events like concerts on beautiful nights. Close walking distance to many good dining choices and across the street from the Marriott at Vanderbilt University (their in-hotel restaurant and bar is EXCELLENT, btw). Closes at sunset. Perfect for families and romantic for couples, and most importantly, dog friendly!!! Psst... Excellent photo ops too.

I absolutely loved visiting this beautiful and free park! Even on hot days, there are plenty of shady spots to find respite. The highlight for me was the serene lake, teeming with lively fish and adorable ducks. An enchanting island in the middle of the lake even hosts buzzing bee hives, adding a touch of nature's wonder. It was heartwarming to see families, kids, and people with pets, all enjoying this inclusive outdoor space. With something for everyone, this park truly caters to all ages and interests. Whether you seek tranquility, a fun day out with loved ones, or simply want to commune with nature, this park is an absolute gem. Make sure to visit the flower garden!

Pretty decent park, though there's a lot of people during the day and weekends. But if you're alone at night and need somewhere to ponder, I highly suggest coming here if you can. Also, there is a huge statue inside the Parthenon, but there's already a gazillion photos of it already that I don't feel inclined to show any photos. Though during at night it does look quite pretty..

Absolutely amazing! Perfect way to waste a half weekend day.
The place is photogenic. It’s wild to think they built one of these hundreds of years ago.
Statue inside with essentially another statue in her hand. Huuuuge!

Part of Vanderbilt University, this was a great treat to admire. We were in Nashville only for a day and got there after they closed, so couldn't go in.
It's a beautiful replica of the Archipolis that was also a replica of and nspired by Persepolis from ancient Iran.
The columns and place looked so authentic, it sucked we couldn't go inside.
Will definitely be able here again!

Always a great experience wandering around soaking up the sights. I wish I could have caught one of the concerts by candlelight, but definitely will next time around. The lake and scenery are gorgeous, and the Parthenon is of course, just incredible! I got to relax on a bench by one of the statues in the sun and enjoyed the afternoon, relaxing.

Centennial Park is definitely the “star park” of west Nashville, it’s got plenty of space to walk, run, bike, skate, walk your dog, have a picnic, throw the football. I’ve been back multiple times and everytime is different, walking/running around, I’ve had a picnic in the field, threw the football a ton, and of course had a photo shoot lol, great vibez and extremely beautiful. The Parthenon is the centerpiece, setting it apart from any park around. Plenty of other cool features as well, awesome sculptures and even plants. Once again the set up is just right, I love that the outer-ban around the Parthenon is basically different walking/biking paths, some trees and some lil memoirs here and there, but then you get into the center and see all the art and space. If you haven’t been here yet, I’m telling you there’s no reason not to, it’s free and you can make it as enjoyable as you want !

Great place to take a stroll and gaze at the many historic monuments, landscape, pound and ducks, and view of The Parthenon. And, of course see and sit on the 'Taylor Swift bench'!
Dog and family friendly!
Only negative is that the dog park is across the street and not easy to find or navigate over to, and the park in general can be a little crowded but not too bad to damper your time. Recommend going on a sunny day! Parking is somewhat difficult and you'll likely have to hop the small curb as most others do to park your vehicle.
The Parthenon in Centennial Park, a replica of the original Athenian Parthenon, was constructed in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. This full-scale replica serves as an art museum and showcases a collection of American artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Definitely, definitely a must see when visiting Nashville- Such a beautiful structure! The process and history are very fascinating. Although we visited on a bitter cold day, we spent a fair amount of time on the outside and inside exploring. The way the old remnants are displayed at the end of the museum were presented very nicely so you could see what part they came from the top frame of the building. The park is also quite tranquil, it’d be an ideal place to read a book or just relax. We’ll be back to visit on a warmer day for sure!

Loved it! Wish I would’ve gone during the daytime to first enjoy the park and then visit inside as it gets dark out. Worth the $10. Fairly quick if you don’t stop to read all the information pertaining to the exhibits. I do, it’s informative and descriptive enough to allow you to transport in time! Recommend! Go for it!

The Parthenon was built in 1897 as the Athens of the South for the TN Expo representing the numerous colleges locally such as Vanderbilt. It is an exact replica of the Parthenon in Greece and simply magnificent! If you have not visited you simply must. The inside is beyond incredible with the statue of Athena as the main attraction. She is just lovely! The outside is used for Weddings, Soccer games, Picnics, Walking your Fur baby;)
The Park is very nice with the water and being able to take children and feed the ducks also. (REMEMBER No bread! only bite size pieces such as oats, lettuce, rice and sweet corn.)
This is worth visiting more than once! The park is free outside as well as parking. There is a charge for inside. Adults are $10, Seniors and children $8, Babies Free.

Pretty interesting stop. Was inside the Parthenon for about 45 minutes. Nice look into who and why they build it. Doesn't have too much Greek history and myths but it has a small amount. More of the museum was dedicated to the actual act of building it and the time it was built. Kinda wish there was more on the Greek history and why they choose the Parthenon of all things back when they built it for the fare but overall still kinda interesting if you need to kill some time.

The Parthenon in Nashville is an absolute must-visit! Nestled in the beautiful Centennial Park, this stunning replica of the original Parthenon in Athens is a testament to architectural excellence. From the moment you approach the towering columns, you're transported to ancient Greece.
Inside, you'll find the 42-foot-tall statue of Athena Parthenos, an engineering marvel in itself. The attention to detail is remarkable.
What sets this attraction apart is its serene setting within the park. The surrounding gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. It's a wonderful place to unwind and soak in some culture while in the heart of Music City. The stalls in the garden sells amazing Lemonade, Sorbet, and Shaved Ice. I always have ‘Old Fashion’ Lemonade from the ‘Pucker Hut’ lemonade stall every time I visit here.
The Parthenon is a symbol of Nashville's rich cultural diversity, and whether you're a history enthusiast, an art lover, or just a curious traveler, you'll find something to appreciate here. Don't forget your camera – this is a spot you'll want to capture and remember! 🏛️🌿📸

A unique gem in the city of Nashville. This is a fun museum for adults and children interested in ancient history. Plenty of art pieces and interactive pieces. The big statue of Athena is a great sight to see. The replica is 1:1 scale. The park right outside is a great spot for people to enjoy a picnic or just enjoy the outdoors.

A nice little museum for those who enjoy art and history. When we visited there was a display from some modern artists, more historical paintings, as well as displays detailing the 1987 Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition (for which the Parthenon replica was built), and displays detailing the building of the Parthenon and its contents. The statue of Athena is impressively large in person and worth the cost of admittance on its own ($10).
We went on a weekday so it was not crowded at all, and spent about an hour walking through it slowly and reading the plaques. If you don’t care to stop and read everything you could probably blow through in 20 minutes or less.
There is free parking just a short walk from the Parthenon, though even on a slow weekday it was pretty full with only one or two spots open when we arrived.

I never knew this place existed in Nashville but it’s an incredible experience to be able to step back in time and see the Greek Parthenon built to scale with amazing detail, complete with a golden statue of Nike and Athena. I’m a fan of history and architecture and this was a great find. For $10 admission cost, it’s absolutely worth the price of admission to experience it. The scale of the statue alone is incredible when you take a moment to realize that the small figure in Athena’s hand is 6’4” tall! We got there from Broadway on Old Town Trolley that drops you off right at the front of the Parthenon. We didn’t spend too much time in the museum itself but there’s more to see here for those interested. Recommended and photos don’t do it justice. Go see it in person!

I spent about an hour and a half reading and viewing the items in the Parthenon. There were interactive exhibits, nice art, and looking at the sculptures and particularly Athena is a sight that can’t be put into words. The customer service was great! Gift shop has something for everyone and at tourist prices. 4.5/5 stars because I wish it didn’t smell like a Greece-y fart the whole time.

What a fun experience! We have wanted to come here for a while and finally had the chance. The building is incredible inside and out. Further, the history of the whole area was facinating. It is such a good thing that the Parthenon was saved and restored. The museum was only $10 per person and was well worth it.
Seeing the giant (41' tall) Athena sculpture was incredible. This a well managed and well designed place. What a great experience for people of all ages.

The Athena statue on the second floor is worth the price of admission, which will be more expensive if you pay with a credit card. Discounts for teachers, nurses and more with ID. Such a cool building, and I loved the first floor exhibition on Repatriation of artwork. Such an important topic that needs to be talked about. It’s located in Centennial Park with a nice pond and benches to sit in the shade.

At first, the idea of a 1:1 scale replica of the Parthenon was ludicrous to me. After visiting and learning some of the history behind it, I’m much less confused, and much more impressed. Waaay cool, definitely worth checking out. The statue of Athena is amazing (don’t love the eyes though, lol).

Grand and impressive. The Parthenon’s exposure to sun and shadow is magical to my eyes. Didn’t go in the museum because of limited time, but just the structure itself was so worth to stop by. Very cool place. Odd location but there is some method to the madness. This place is exactly what I would picture the Parthenon to had looked like way back when, but obviously a scaled down version (which makes it even cooler!)

This is such a cool experience. There is such much history to read inside, about the building/local history, the original Parthenon, and even local art inside. We went on a Saturday around 11 30am and on a cold day and it wasn’t too full. No wait to get in. When we left around 1 30 it was pretty packed. The coolest part is we got to the Nashville traveling Opera perform inside. We didn’t even know they were on tour that day and it was free. Yay. Had an amazing time.

Decently fun to see from the outside. Worth the visit! I didn't pay to explore the inside because I don't know if it would be worth it. They should consider changing to a free model with donation bins everywhere. Add some more outdoor attractions. I know this isn't as easy as a flip of a switch and that this potentially attracts people that others may consider "undesirable," but other cities make this work well and they thrive.
Not a criticism either, and I genuinely appreciate the work that has gone into what's already here. 👏👏👏 Just throwing it out there as I think it could work well here. I could also be wrong and may be missing critical details or perspective. It's neat and worth checking out!

If you have never been to The Parthenon in Nashville, then I would definitely consider checking out this amazing and entertaining tourist attraction right in the heart of Centennial Park in Nashville. The building is a full scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens Greece. The giant gold statue of Athena in the second level is extremely impressive and quite a marvel to set eyes upon. The bottom floor of the building has an impressive art gallery collection. They have ancient sculptures throughout the building as well that are really neat historical artifacts. This is one of the coolest tourist attractions that I have ever been to. Highly recommend.

I've seen the real deal in person and there is still an immense amount of wonder and awe with seeing this replica... maybe even more so since it is complete and has colors.

This is one of the greatest architectural buildings in west Nashville. THE replica of the real ancient Parthenon in Athens. I’ve never seen this in perfect till yesterday and it was an amazing experience. Was the perfect day already, sun was shine and just a little wind, bad@ss hotdog stand setup and had great American franks lol. The scene was amazing, they really have it setup nice, very open, wide sidewalks, security was surprising nice, not everywhere just patrolling where needed. And it also had a huge open field, threw the football for at least an hour it had a ton of room to run. Long story short it is like a park where you can be yourself bike, skate, walk, run, whatever (legally ;) and enjoy the scene and the insane history just sitting pretty. Although these pics make it seem like your already there, if you haven’t been you need to check it out 🤙

The outside is beautiful. There’s a kiddie park and an open air field to hang out in or to have a picnic. Seeing the Athena statue was amazing for my eyes. Very grand, very beautiful. Her temple was simple and deserves respect when you walk in. The rest of the museum was cool, but very basic. The entrance price is a reasonable $10, but I feel the gift shop shirts should be lowered from $30 to $15. I’d go visit again if I’m in town again. I gave it 4 stars because it was a very small and basic museum. Seems to be built around the Athena, besides seeing her there is nothing more to see.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum showcases the rich history of American music through its collection of artifacts and interactive displays. Situated in downtown Nashville's vibrant District, this attraction brings the city to life, especially at night. Alongside the famous honky tonk bars, visitors can explore shops, restaurants, and historic music landmarks. Just a short distance away is Centennial Park, which offers unique features such as a full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon.
This place was so cool!!! We budgeted one & a half hours based on the recommended time. I wish we would have planned on a little bit more time. It was so interesting seeing costumes & outfits country stars have worn over the past several years. Loved seeing how fashion has changed & the details in the clothing. Martina McBride section was one of my personal favorites. Definitely recommend but make sure you budget enough time before tours, if you are doing tours.

This was an experience that I will never forget in my entire life. I think I was most excited to go here over anywhere else in Nashville. We purchase tickets in advance and therefore were allowed to go straight in. You start on the third floor and work your way down to the first floor where the exit is. I thought that was very smart. The displays were incredible! I love older Country Music and they did not disappoint. I would love to come back here with my kids one today. I know they would love it as much as I did. The gift shop was awesome too!

Not at all a country music fan (except bluegrass) but I thought this was a great museum. I learned quite a bit, they have some absolutely amazing artifacts, especially musical instruments, great exhibits, some hands on stuff. Really, really enjoyed it and I probably will explore country music outside of bluegrass because of this visit. If you like guitars, they have a fantastic collection to drool over, especially Martin and Gibson.

Listen. If you're in Nashville you MUST go to the Country music hall of Fame whether or not you like Country music. It's spectacular. Blows that other museum in Cleveland away. Always a rotating exhibit when you enter. We saw one for Bill Anderson. Two levels of amazing artifacts documenting the history of Country music from the 20s/30s through today showing the rise fall and eventual rise again of the genre of music. The guitars are amazing. Outfits and stage wear even better. Several cars including Elvis's limo and the TA from Smokey and the Bandit. Make sure you pay extra and go over to RCA studio B. It takes and hour and is absolutely worth the additional cost and bus ride over. I've been here twice and would come back another 10 times if in Nashville.

It was alright, nothing blew me away. If I were a huge country fan, it probably would have been really cool. The whole 3rd floor is the beginnings of country.. the second floor being the more modern era. There were a lot of artists, in my opinion, that have made bigger contributions to country, yet they were not found anywhere in the museum (or it was one item). It was a lot smaller than I had expected as well. Highlight of this stop was Bajo Taco.

Nashville is all about country and blues music, and this museum is a great way to explore a lot of the history and upbringing of the country music scene.
There are 3 floors to the museum and each one is layed out well so that it is easy to navigate and plenty of room. I'm not a big country music fan, but I very much enjoyed browsing through the museum learning about the history and see many of the artifacts that made country music what it is today.
Highly recommend booking the first visit of the morning so you can get in before the museum gets crowded.
We also booked the museum tickets with the Hatch Show Print and RCA Studio B combo package. It can get a little pricey to do this depending on how many people are in your party (about $75 for the 3 together), but it was very worth it.

Visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville is a musical pilgrimage that any country music enthusiast should undertake. Nestled in the heart of Music City, this iconic museum is a sprawling treasure trove of the genre's rich history.
As you approach the building, you're struck by its sheer size. The museum is a colossal three-story structure, with a distinct design that evokes the grandeur of the country's musical heritage. The modern architecture seamlessly blends with the surrounding historic district, making it both a beacon of the future and a guardian of the past.
Once inside, the Hall of Fame doesn't disappoint. Its vast collection covers the full spectrum of country music, preserving the legacies of legendary artists from the earliest roots of the genre to contemporary superstars. Exhibits showcase costumes, instruments, and personal artifacts of icons like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Hank Williams, connecting you to the heart and soul of their music.
To ensure an optimal experience, arriving early in the day is advisable. This way, you can beat the crowds and soak in the exhibits at your own pace. It's also wise to purchase your tickets online in advance to bypass the lines that tend to form, especially during peak tourist seasons.
A trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame is not just a museum visit; it's a journey through the soul of America's music. It's a place where you can stand in awe of the legends, feel the rhythm of history, and understand why country music is such an integral part of the nation's cultural tapestry.

Recently updated exhibits spread out smartly to accommodate large numbers without feeling overwhelmed. Recommend the audio tour for more information that's different from what you can read on the exhibits! Fully accessible regardless of mobility. Small theatres so you can sit and rest at intervals throughout (3). Enjoy!

To be honest, I'm not much of a country music fan - but when in Nashville, right? The collection at this museum is vast, and you could easily spend hours here. Being a bit of an outsider to the genre, I would have loved a little more context for many of the displays, but maybe that's on me.

What a great place to visit. Beautiful collection of music stars of artifacts, instruments and costumes. Well worth the visit for everyone to enjoy Country music's artist and history. There are shops inside if you want to purchase items for gifts or other merchandise. Don't pass this up!

This is a MUST DO! when your in Nashville!! We had a great time learning all about the history of country music and all about current country music!! WOW! so much cool stuff! What a fun time! We paid for the guided tour and that helped a lot and I definitely recommend it. It was just a simple device that you put in the number of the display that your looking at and it tells you all about it. They have the Elvis limousine in there and so many other cool things. Go check this place out it is so cool!

Fun experience with lots to look at. There are interactive things as well as items to view of all sizes and types. Lots of history for those interested, and easy to walk through as fast or as slowly as you'd like. Plan on at least an hour to walk around and maybe longer especially if you're a country fan. There's a nice gift shop as well as a snack stand with lots of seating indoors and out. A lovely place to spend a hot Tennessee afternoon.

My family and I loved learning the history of each Hall of Fame musician and songwriters! Our kids discovered that there was proof that a lot of the music they listen to now was and is richly influenced by so many in the Country Music industry and not just something we told them to expand their music choices. There is also some fun interactive games and a recording studio that you can save and email to yourself that the whole family will have fun with.

This was my 2nd visit, a first with other people in the party. I enjoyed that exhibits had changed since I had originally been there, which had only been 5 months prior. Having exhibits that change on a regular basis will keep people wanting to continue to visit.
I saw things through fresh eyes, as this visit my child was with me. Country Music Hall of Fame is FULL of interactive things to do for children (and adults). The music petting zoo was a highlight!

Nice collection of all things country music. Worth a visit if you like history. Exhibits were good. Audio devices are worth it as it was crowded and allowed me to stand away from exhibits while others bunched around to read the info in the exhibit. I enjoyed the video and audio items the most. The interactive portions were a creative touch.

This place is absolutely amazing. If you are into country music, or just music or history in general, then do yourselves a favor and go and check out the Country music hall of fame. They have so so many incredible exhibits and musicians that are featured in this huge and expansive building. So many incredible artifacts that are on display. The sheer history in this building is absolutely fantastic.

I don't know much about country music. I am here as a pure tourist. It's a great place to visit when you come to Nashville. It covers almost famous country music singers in history. Briefly introduced them and also displayed their stage dresses and instruments. There is even a recording section to let you play around. A nice place for all ages and families. I had a good time here. Recommended!!

So, i am not a giant country music fan. This is still great museum with loads of interactive displays, videos, and loads of detail in every display. If you're a country fan, it would be easy to spend 2 to 3 hours here. We spent about 1.5 hrs wandering through. I would not suggest it to younger kids unless they are music history fans.
Heads up, if you walk past the gift store, there are at least 2-3 places to have a bit to eat. The lobby restaurant was packed on our visit and a bit of a zoo.

I grew up listening to the old country music with my Pop Pop and transitioned into more recent country in my adult years. This place has it all. I loved getting to soak up the history and actually see what I'd consider lost artists in this fast past world. I'd give it 5 stars on one condition if there was NO TAYLOR SWIFT. She faked a country accent and has no place there. Completely ruined my first impression when her big, annoying name was the first thing you see whenever you get off the elevator. It's disrespectful to the other country music artists who worked hard to get to where they're at. She has a place, but not at this museum.

Went on Dec 22nd. Purchased tickets online and paid the extra $5 for the audio player. I'm a 52 yr old man who has listened to country music since I was a baby. This was my first time in Nashville, and I was very eager to visit this museum. The history of country music was well represented. I would have liked to have seen more of the blues influence, but I get that it's a different genre.
The displays were done very nicely, and the entire museum was impressive. If you go, get tickets online... it'll get you in much quicker. If I were to do it again, I would not rent the audio player.

“Will the Circle be Unbroken ” the best ending and beginning. Just a taste of my adventures because you have to see it,hear it,and feel it for yourself in Country Hall of Fame and Museum. We did a self guided tour. I loved the exhibits! The only thing I will say make sure you are on time for the tour because they presale tickets!

Great place for country music history, spent 2.5 hours here. They offer an audio tour for an extra 5 or so bucks it gives extra info about each display. Its deff worth it.they have a gift shop also that was nice. The park across the street with the walk of fame is a bit dicey though. a lot of homeless panhandling going on ...id skip

The Ryman Auditorium, known as the "Mother Church of Country Music," is a renowned live performance venue located in Nashville, Tennessee. Formerly called the Grand Ole Opry House and the Union Gospel Tabernacle, this historic 2,362-seat auditorium holds a significant place in entertainment history.
I toured the Ryman by myself today waiting for a friend to fly into town and it was a wonderful visit. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable and it was a neat feeling to walk into a room with such history. They play an informative video to start (don't skip it) and then the rest is self guided. You can get your picture taken on the stage steps and you get a copy for free in the gift shop! I highly recommend going.

I enjoyed the $30 tour. It includes a video that wraps around you. Displays of clothing worn by many of the greats, both old and current and framed play bills. You can walk freely throughout the auditorium which also let's you see where the techs work. A free photo is provided that is taken on the stage. The employees were lovely and happy! The gift shop is quite affordable. Definitely a worth while adventure. If you choose not to venture inside there are several things to enjoy for free outside.

Always love the Ryman! Of all the venues in Nashville, this is my go-to place! Much more intimate setting and there's no bad seat in the house. I've been to other venues in town but this is absolutely my favorite and always will be. The sound is absolutely incredible. They don't call it the mother church for nothing! It's also amazing the variety of artists that come there. I'm so glad it's one of the buildings that have been restored and still in use! Parking is easy with a parking garage directly next door and several across the street. There are actual church pews that you sit on but you can also bring a cushion. I've never been to a bad concert there! Can't wait for my next trip to the mother church!

Really glad I stopped for the guided tour of the auditorium. There is so much history in one place it’s amazing. If you like country music then this is the place to start. It’s really cool to see the videos and the outfits that were created by and worn by many stars of the past. The dressing rooms are particularly interesting with so many pictures of the stars who have entertained there. It’s fun to have your pictures taken on stage and the gift store has many different kinds of gifts that are all related to the Ryman.

Fantastic shows both Friday and Saturday. I love the residency program it makes my drive more affordable when I can catch multiple shows! The staff as always was outstanding the lines for concessions and bathrooms moved well and we're not outlandish. My balcony seats were outstanding and the sound top notch. The best at any venue I've been in. The place was clean also. Nice that they have a band in the courtyard while waiting to enter. Bravo! My wait time to get in included me showing up an hour early to get a Hatch Print. I always meet music lovers so I don't mind.

I went here for a show (The Infamous Stringdusters + Leftover Salmon) while I was in town and it was so fun! I didn't have time to do the tour beforehand, but hopefully next time!
The acoustics were unreal 😍.Although...maybe ear plugs would be a good idea. It's a perfectly intimate setting and so cool to be in the same space where so much country music history took place. I LOVED the pews - was worried we would be super cramped but we had plenty of space and it wasn't uncomfortable. Our seats were in the balcony (halfway back) and I was worried it wouldn't be as good so far back, but there really isn't a "bad seat" in the place (although I read ahead that the acoustics sitting toward the back underneath the balcony aren't quite as good).
Wonderful experience and can't wait to come back.

Ryman is fantastic intimate venue! Saw Van Morrison and can't think of better place. Built in 1892 (?) it has beautiful architecture inside and out. Was originally a church, great acoustics, and still has wooden benches. I lucked out and got end of row padded seat, lol. Highly recommend for any artist you want to see.
Martin Schneider — Google review
This was a very nice venue that truly gave me and my husband an intimate listening experience with the musicians on stage. We were just there to see Father John Misty and we were amazed at the acoustics, how sitting in the balcony we had a great view of the entire stage, and the workers there were all very friendly and welcoming. I liked the wooden pew style seating and while it was a tight squeeze and we were packed tightly in our row, the show quality was worth the social discomfort. I would be happy to see any musician on this stage again.
The stairs are quite narrow though and while walking up them I tripped onto my face so perhaps be warned. Still, solid 10/10 experience.

Did the self guided tour. Beautiful old church turned auditorium with tons of history. The tour features a short video explaining the history, exhibits with clothing worn by inductees, with more history, and a photo on the stage is included.

We completed the self guided tour on a Sunday and it was an awesome experience. Right from the amazing video introduction through to the cool displays, to the auditorium itself.
You can't help but get caught up in the emotion that the multitude of stars would have felt and still no doubt feel to this day when walking through the Ryman and taking the stage.
I would happily recommend a visit to the Ryman to anyone that has an interest in music.

Laura Jaskot — Google review
The history in this building is really neat - but let's talk about the physical experience of attending a show here. Very often the folks who perform are doing so to a sold-out crowd. This church was built when humans occupied much less space than they do today. If you are 6 foot, it will be painful because there is no room for your knees. If you are even simply moderately sized, you will personally extend over the allotted space for your "seat". And even if *you* don't have long legs or happen to be a thin person, if you have the misfortune of being in a row with a couple other larger folks and your row is full, everyone will be squashed, because they are church pews and many sections don't have any type of seat divider. I know the pews are historic and we want to keep them historic, but the venue DESPERATELY needs to realign the spacing. Charge more per ticket if you have to, but I want to be able to take a full deep breath without every inch of my side body touching the stranger next to me. It's *genuinely* worse than any old, teeny tiny Broadway theater seat in NYC, and I have been in some bad ones. The positive: The acoustics in the venue are great, the bathrooms were clean and modern, the staff is kind. I appreciate that you can take in your beverages to the show, but I had people who spilled their open cup by kicking it on the floor and it dripped down into my space so my floor was covered. Nowhere to put your bag if the seats are all full and the floor is covered in red sticky liquid. ☠️

We visited the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN in February and it was a fantastic place! We purchased VIP tickets and our guide, Ken, was fantastic. He told us all about the history of this great place and took us backstage, in the dressing rooms and on the stage. The same stage the likes of Minnie Pearl, Charlie Pride, Bill Monroe and Loretta Lynn, to name a few, performed on. It was the fifth place of the Grand Ole Opry, from 1943 to 1974. The Ryman is a historical building and any music lover would love to see it. It was a Bucket List thing to do and it was an awesome experience.

This was such a great place. After we entered the Auditorium, we were directed upstairs to a movie theater. This was a film on the Auditorium and it's history. Amazing story. During the film, I now understood the importance of the place and how many things came and went. Have a good one.

We had a fantastic experience at the Ryman auditorium! I took my team to the haunted tour and we all had a blast. The tour was filled with historical facts as well as spooky stories going back to the early 1900s. We got to see dressing rooms, authentic costumes from BB King, and even under the stage. We were also very pleased that everyone in our group was provided a photo at the end of our experience for no additional charge.

We went to see two shows on two different nights and both experiences were great. The Ryman was a clean and well organized venue. Entry was simple with little security. The sound was incredible. Crystal clear and at a volume that did not require ear protection. The only downside was the seating. Hard wooden pews were not very comfortable. In spite of that, I'd love to see more artists performing there.

The Ryman Auditorium is an essential stop for anyone visiting Nashville, even if you don't have tickets or there is no show that day, it's worth stopping at. I say this because it is located in the heart of downtown Nashville, surrounded by a vibrant and safe environment full of wonderful retail shopping and all kinds of dining.
I went to a concert this summer and got tickets for the front row of the balcony. They were the most amazing seats, and I got them for about $100 each! There was nobody to stand in front of me or block my view, and my buddy and I had the time of our lives!
With it's rich history, our band opened by saying that it was a dream of theirs to play at the Ryman, and then proceeded to put on the best live show I've ever seen from them (and I've seen them play live 11 times before). In summary, if there IS a show, GO! If not, stop by and take pictures of the statues outside before continuing on to the surrounding attractions like Printer's Alley (the main street for all the bars and pubs). I recommend staying in a hotel downtown. You can walk everywhere with ease. Everything is close and safe, and you won't have to worry about drinking and driving.

We didn’t know what to expect when we came for the tour but it was very nicely done. The short movie and effects was very well made. The exhibits were quite minimal though and it isn’t advertised well but you can take a free photograph on the stage! It will be taken by a photographer for you, printed and available to pick up in the gift store. The gift store was also reasonably priced.

The Ryman Auditorium is such an amazing venue! The history in this building is unbelievable. So much talent has graced the stage over the years. I have seen many shows over the years here. This particular concert was Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade on Halloween 2023. So much fun! The crowd was definitely into it. The sound was amazing (I could feel the bass through my feet) and the light show was spectacular! The staff were super friendly and even though the lines were pretty backed up getting in, everything flowed smoothly and we weren't in line too long. I can't wait to see more shows here in the future!

First tour on our last full day in Nashville. Our tour guide, Drake, was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided a great experience. We got to see inside four dressing rooms(no pics allowed)since there were no performances that evening. Walked on stage and was truly in awe of the history. So glad they saved this historic building! We got a short tour of Johnny Cash’s last tour bus too which was included with our ticket purchase.

I had a ticket to a show in the evening and decided to take the self-guided tour earlier in the day. I bought my ticket I site and not in advance. There was just a short wait for the tour to begin. thoroughly enjoyed this experience. They show you a short film to start on the history of the building. Then you take yourself throughout the building. They had some artist memorabilia showcased and you get a free picture of yourself at the end of the tour - free print and then $5 to purchase a digital download. The staff/volunteers were all friendly and knowledgeable. The Johnny Cash bus was on-site and that was accessible with your tour ticket.
The sound and energy during the show I saw that evening was incredible. I highly recommend taking the tour and seeing a live show here!! I’m sure I will be back! Also - I had purchased a seat that said obstructed view at the end of an aisle (section 3 - row M) and I can assure you my visibility was not that obstructed.

Watching a show at the Ryman is special, there's no denying that. We went to see the Black Pumas in April as it's one of our favorite bands. Eric is an amazing entertainer! You can't beat the acoustics of the Ryman. Drinks are easy to get with two concessions, although getting to your seat can be a challenge (which can tend to be uncomfortable if you sit too long). We will be back!

Walking into the auditorium was an experience that I'll never forget. To the effect of chills and goosebumps just thinking about all the history that has been made in that one place by so many. The most humbling feeling you could ever imagine. Sitting on the old pew and just taking it all in was just amazing. I can't imagine what it must feel like to stand on that stage in that building and do what you love. Something I've always dreamed about.

We went to see Amy Grant and Vince Gill's Christmas Show. We were extremely pleased with the ease of getting in even though several bus loads of people were in line as well. It was great being in this historic building. We did have a column in our view but it did not diminish the entertainment or our evening at all. This was our first visit to the Ryman for a show. We had toured it many years ago. We drove in from the Lexington, Kentucky area and would definitely do this again. Vince Gill and Amy Grant were great!!
The red-brick museum in DT Nashville showcases photographs and mementos from the life of music legend Johnny Cash, renowned for his contributions to American music. It is home to the largest collection of Johnny Cash memorabilia globally, surpassing even the Grammy Museum in Downtown LA. The museum not only exhibits numerous items relating to his successful career but also highlights his activism for prison reform and support for Native Americans. Visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee at the museum cafe while listening to his remarkable songs.
It's a small museum but it has a nice flow. There are lots of items to check out! It's very reflective, so picture taking is a challenge. The music is great 😉
There were a few items from Roy Orbinson and Jerry Lee Lewis too! It was so much fun, we'll do it again!

Little over priced for the small size of the Museum. Some good reading in there to look at and take photos of. The Patsy Cline museum above is even smaller, unless you have a heart tied a Patsy Cline I’d save my time. The cafe was ok until we found a long brown hair at the bottom of the beans… until that point we enjoyed the day. But the POP tech music was up to loud and the chicken a bit dry. The museum didn’t give a military discount but the restaurant did. The guys hat on backwards to the side that brought my food out didn’t look to happy to be there or say anything when putting the meal on the table. We love Johnny Cash, this is a one and done thing for me. The gentleman taking the tickets is the only one that should be getting paid in there. He explained a great deal to us. Just being honest.

4/18/2023: Beautiful museum. It takes about an hour to go through. Completely worth the time. This has been noted as one of the best music museums in America. I would agree. The amount of information inside is so detailed and iconic. It is dark inside, but I think that is for the ambiance. I was more of a Johnny Cash fan after leaving, for sure! It's pretty cool to be surrounded by so much history, fame and singing ability. They have a gift shop as you exit.

Very nice and detailed museum. We didn't know much about Johnny Cash, but I learned a lot and definitely enjoyed it. I liked to pick up headphones in many different parts and listen to different songs. Some of them were by other artists, including Elvis Presley.
There was a photographer taking pictures with Johnny Cash, and he did an amazing job. It is $19.95 for a print in a very nice cover and a digital download. Highly recommend to do it. It was fun for us!
Some little kid, a visitor, came with a guitar and ended up being coached by some guy, another visitor, which was very interesting and fun to watch.
Whoever planned and worked on the museum did a very good job. I wish there were more such museums.
Also, they open till 7 pm every day, which is very nice if you have a couple hours in the evening and want to do something useful, since all other museums close at 5. We really appreciated it.

Really well done museum in the heart of downtown Nashville, not even a block away from Broadway Street.
I don't believe one needs to enjoy country music to appreciate this museum.
Lots of stories, videos, relics, interactive music sets, and antiques pack every inch of this relatively small space.
There is plenty of American history intertwined with Cash's story 1950-2000.
I spent just over an hour her, but feel you could spent up to three.
Keep up the good work!!!

The staff was friendly, but the museum itself is fairly small. Some nice interesting things there. The museum is well done in terms of its design and creation. At the same time, I didn't get the chance to go upstairs, but there's a Patsy Cline museum as well. I am not sure why they don't combine the two or at least let two be covered by the cost of 1 ticket. Each museum costs well over $20 per ticket, and for that price, I doubt I will return.

Gosh what a great experience! As a long time Johnny Cash fan, this was a must do visit while in Nashville. The exhibits were very well done and fascinating! One could really get a full understanding of who Johnny Cash was, his passions, talents, faith in Jesus and struggles. As a recovered alcoholic/addict myself, I have a place in my heart for those who struggle in addiction. The music video hurt was played at the end and had me emotional... Overall the experience was a perfect way to know who The Man in Black was and honor him. Johnny Cash was truly a legend!

Definitely better than we thought! When we got here, it looks like a tacky tourist trap (like those Ripley’s museums in every tourist town), so we were skeptical, but took a swing anyways… It is pricey too, I think $25/pp, but they do offer AAA discounts and I think first responder and military too (it’s only $1 off).
Once we got past the ticket counter and were inside, it immediately impressed us! The layout, the exhibits, the actual music playing from different exhibits, etc… All were great and very nicely organized. The various artifacts are fun to look at and read about as well. They have a nice video area showing all sorts of interesting things that Johnny did, definitely worth watching.
If you like Country music, southern rock, and/or Johnny Cash, it worth a visit!

This is like a Hall of Fame museum except for one person. There’s plenty of memorabilia but I’m not sure a lot of it is worth having in this museum. Seems like it’s there to provide things to look at. Some were interesting.
However.
We enjoyed learning the life of the man, not that we were big fans of his.
The price is a bit high for what you get. Doesn’t take long to go through. It’s not big yet they have videos of Cash singing his hits in rooms right next to each other so the sounds of one room bleeds over to the next which can be distracting.
If you are a real big Cash fan then by all means go. If you were only mildly interested in the man and his music save your money.

The Patsy Cline Museum is up stairs. Two spectacular galleries for two most spectacular Country superstars. It is so fascinating how much personal stuff of these stars has survived and been devotedly preserved. I didn't have enough time to scour ½ the detailed displays (museum closed @ 5 O'Clock - get there early; I was so engrossed I didn't take many pictures... will undoubtedly revisit these treasuries if I'm ever in Nashville again. DON'T MISS THESE!

What a wonderful presentation of The Man in Black's life and music career. The showcase walk you through the various decades and stages of his life and are very insightful, educational, and enjoyable. This will be really special for Johnny Cash fans.

The Johnny Cash Museum is conveniently located next to Johnny's Cash's bar!
This place is filled with cool stuff like his childhood report cards, military uniforms, and handwritten love letters to June Carter. The Cash Museum features interactive exhibits, an extensive gift shop, films, and a café.
Upstairs from the Johnny Cash Museum is the Patsy Cline Museum.
Nashville's lively country music scene can be found in the bustling Downtown area, which is home to numerous honky-tonk bars along the main street, Broadway. Visitors can enjoy big-name concerts and backstage tours at the historic Ryman Auditorium, or explore artifacts from Johnny Cash's life at the nearby museum dedicated to him. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum offers hands-on exhibits and audio tours for those interested in learning more about this genre of music.
The tour operator that operates the Historic RCA Studio B is known for its pioneering work in creating the Nashville Sound and recording country music legends. The studio is also home to a guided tour that allows visitors to experience what it was like to record there in 1957. Some of the famous artists who have recorded at Studio B include Elvis Presley, Charley Pride, Carrie Underwood, Fats Domino, and the Everly Brothers.
So much music history was made here. I didn’t know too much about the studio prior to our visit. The tour is great with tons of background and insider stories. They also play recordings of quite a few songs

The guide was superb. She brought the studio alive. That is the place that established Elvis and Nashville. Elvis recorded 272 songs in that studio. The original equipment are still there. A must see.

This was the highlight of our day in Nashville. Ron, who was our tour guide, was very knowledgeable on the history of this studio and the Nashville music scene and he was also an incredible story teller. This is the same studio that Elvis and many others recorded at and you can see and sit at the piano that was featured in many famous recordings. You dont have to be a huge country music fan to enjoy the history in this tour. I rank this up there with a visit to Abbey Roads studios in London and I highly recommend it if you have the time in Nashville.

Cool to see if you’re interested in the older Elvis era. I’m very unfamiliar with it so the tour was very informational but also very over my head. I probably wouldn’t go back or wouldn’t recommend to those who are hoping it’s more about modern country music, which was what I was hoping for personally.

This is a really super cool tour that you can get tickets out of the country music Hall of Fame and Museum. They put you on a bus and take you right over. The tour was very interesting and informative. The place just takes you back. You can feel like how it was back then. It’s just really cool that Elvis and a bunch of other artists have recorded at that studio. if you are in town this and the country music Hall of Fame are a must!

This was a great and very informative tour. I am not much of a country music fan but definitely learned a lot. Also cool to think that RCA B was the studio where Elvis recorded and played the piano that is still used today to record music. The tour guides will play music that was previously recorded in studio B and provide the history of how it was recorded.

I was not expecting this tour to be as informational or fun as it was! Ron did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable on the history of the City and a TON of the musicians! Well done!

Wow. What an incredible place with a such a rich history. We had the most amazing tour guide and felt it was definitely worth seeing. I feel terrible I don't remember her name but she was an elderly lady with long, thick white hair and a real zest for like. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really made the tour worth it. We were able to sit at Elvis's favorite piano and listen to some of the famous hits that were recorded in that room. Truly a magnificent experience. If you are an Elvis fan this is a MUST see!

4/19/2023: Get your tickets early! This tour was great! Our tour guide, Debbie, was a wealth of knowledge. She was fun too! I feel like we got the inside scoop. Played at the same piano Elvis played and got pictures! It was beyond amazing!! It was an experience I will never forget!! We also got to hear a recording Elvis did and Debbie even did the mood lighting like Elvis would do when he recorded. Tip your tour guides. They work hard and they make it worth the experience.

Highly recommend this tour, an add-on at the Country Music Hall of Fame! Was one of the highlights on our 1st visit to Nashville.

Very cool experience. Booked as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame combo package. The tour takes you by bus to the Studio B where a tour guide walks you through the history of Studio B.
Standing in the exact recording room where Elvis Presley and many other recorded their biggest hits was definitely a neat experience.
I appreciated how pretty much the entire studio was left in its original state as it had been during its very last recording session.
The tour itself lasts about an hour. The only thing I didnt like is that by the time you get into Studio B itself, there is not alot of time left to get pictures, and near the end we were basically being rushed out in order to stay on time. Other than this, I enjoyed it.

Would be 5 star if you didn’t have to buy a Country Music Hall of Fame Ticket just to do the studio tour. We didn’t have time to see the mueseum but the tour guide and seeing the studio was cool.

What a fun tour. To be in the studio where Elvis recorded over 200 songs and to see the original Steinway piano was an incredible experience not to be missed on any Nashville visit. Our guide was very knowledgable so much so I had trouble keeping up with all of the names and songs. The fact that this studio is still in use today is amazing. I strongly urge everyone to take this interesting 1 hour tour.

Great tour which takes you to the studio where Elvis and many others enjoyed recording. Many of the hits recorder here are played for you. This helps take you back to the time period in your minds eye and cements the place where the greats stood and created the songs that became the playlist of your life!

When in Nashville, you have to go check out Historic RCA Studio B. I purchased my ticket as part of my entry into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The tour itself took about 45 minutes with the whole experience it lasting around an hour and 15 minutes or so including the bus ride.
Let me just say that the only reason why this experience is 4⭐️s is my tour guide. Greg was super knowledgeable, personable, and all around great, except for the fact that he spoke so quickly that he would often stumble or jumble his words.
I often found myself having to watch his lips to understand what he was saying, and instead of being able to look around me, while he was speaking. Since we got such short amount of time in the actual studio, this was kind of a bummer.
OK. Onto the actual studio itself. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really quite awesome to see the history of who recorded at the studio, to sit in the studio itself and listen to the music that was recorded in the same space and to soak in the immensity of how those artists have changed music over the course of the last 60-75 years. From Roy Orbison to Dolly Parton to Elvis, Studio B’s impact on music was greater than I thought.

This was a really special, fantastic experience, and Ron was a fantastic tour guide. Being in the same room as so many legends was awe inspiring, and Ron really knew his stuff and gave you the full experience. I am eternally grateful he let me play the same piano Elvis did. Can’t wait to come back and record on it :) thank you Ron!!

Went on this tour from the country music hall of fame. My wife bought a bundle from "southern escape tours on " trip advisor" and saved us about 100 bucks total or more. Country music hall of fame, studio tour, Johnny cash, on off trolley, wax museum, and old smokey tasting. There was also a 10% off on Google. (CNET10) who knows how long this will be good for but try it..
Ron was our tour guide, I wish I would have recorded his entire presentation from the bus. This man knew every member of the country music hall of fame by memory. He loves his job!!..it's one of the best guided tours I've ever been on. Ron was a gem and the tour was very cool.

I should really keep this place secret but don’t miss it! Elvis, Roy Orbison, Chet Atkins, it all was recorded here. It still looks like the 1950’s with all the original equipment including Elvis’ favorite piano.

Fantastic tour of RCA Studio B. It was absolutely magical being a huge Elvis fan and seeing this incredible studio exactly the way it’s always been! My tour guide was Ron and he was really great, you can tell that he is actually excited to show RCA studio B to everyone, even though he does it probably multiple times everyday, his excitement still shines through. It was an honor to be in that building as a singer/songwriter myself, and a dream to record there someday. So glad studio B is not only being used for tours, but still an active running studio in the mornings and evenings. The history and the stories Ron told brought tears to my eyes, and as we sat there listening to Elvis songs with the changing colored lights, it really set the tone and the mood, and I pictured Elvis standing on the X in front of me. Highly recommend this tour for Elvis and country music fans!

Wow! This is a must do in Nashville! Our group enjoyed Studio B even more than the Country Music Hall of Fame. So much history and notoriety packed into one small building. Our tour guide was Ron and he made the experience over the top! Made you feel like you were there with the artist and was extremely knowledgeable!
If you enjoy music, go to Studio B! It was our most memorable part of the Nashville trip!
Long Hunter State Park, spanning 2,600 acres, is an expansive outdoor destination that caters to a variety of interests. Known as Long Hunter by locals, this park boasts numerous campsites, including secluded backcountry options. Visitors can enjoy fishing and boating on Percy Priest Lake or explore over 20 miles of hiking trails. For those seeking thrills, there is a towering 50-foot ropes course available for adventurous outings.
The hiking areas, grounds and visitor center were well cared for and lovely. We enjoyed seeing some of the rare flowers in bloom.

I have been visiting all of the state parks and stopping at each gift shop or visitor center to get my passport book stamp. The young lady at the desk was very nice.
She was assisting a young man who is learning how to greet people at the visitor center. Sorry I didn’t get her name but I want her to know. She was very nice and helpful.
This park is nice. I like that they have a path going around the lake beautiful views. Plenty of activities for families.

Most beautiful 😍 The views of the lake are amazing here. You can fish off of the dock. You can rent a boat or canoe. You can walk the trails around the lake. The trail goes over the lake on a beautiful bridge. You will see deer here, wild geese, owls, and other various wildlife. There are picnic areas around the lake and clean bathroom facilities. There is a boat ramp, too. Overall, it's an amazing State Park and a great place to visit.

I went on a 4 mile ranger led hike with Ranger Jason, recently. He stopped at different intervals to show interesting trees and ground cover. The hike had no elevation and the trail was easy to see/follow. It was very enjoyable! My only advice...bring some bug spray! I didn't know I was getting bitten and I have a million bites! (Maybe not quite a million. 😀). I'll be going back to try another trail!

Beautiful park with lots of history. From native American hunting area, a 1940s riding academy nearby, bootleggers, family farms etc. I’ve been studying the history of the lands lost to the lake for a book project. I hope to finish by spring 2022.

This State Park is dedicated to the long hunters (usually 6-18 months) who arrived in this region by the 1760s. Some well known long hunters were Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. The State Park consists of approximately 2600 acres with fishing and hiking. The visitor center is very nice and a neat gift shop. The employees were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice park. Quiet and serene on a misty spring Monday. We did the couchville lake trail which was paved and quite easy but very enjoyable.

Long Hunter has access to Couchville Lake, and Bryant Trailhead. This was a great State Park! Well maintained area and felt very safe all throughout. There are areas to fish, kayak, kids park, trails, picnic areas, and much more! It's a fantastic area to just relax or walk around for several miles. The bridge provides a great experience to walk over the lake. Parking is actually really good here in comparison to other State Parks. The trail pavement was in much better shape than other parks as well!

Park map could be easier to read...
There is several hiking trails.
Swimming is allowed only at Bryant Grove area, but the water had white foam it it there and there was several geese in the area, and they left their dropping behind. I would not personally swim there.
They have camping areas, boating/fishing, meeting rooms also. It says there is a gift shop but it was closed when I visited the park.
The pier is nice for fishing.

Beautiful and peaceful. Wildlife is easy to find... deer and the occasional crane or wild turkey. It's a great spot and on most days it's not too crowded. The 2 mile loop around the lake is very nice for a relaxing hike and there is another non-looping trail if you're feeling more adventurous.

We just had a great little hike on deer trail. The middle of the loop is flooded but still plenty of nice shades Trail. Lots of people and pets but they keep it very clean and folks are quiet and thoughtful.
Wow..we had a great time today!!! If I can recommend anything to you, I would recommend a combo. if you are driving the cars, spend a few extra bucks and do the ride along first. You can learn much more and not waste your laps of driving.
If you are larger then average, not to worry they have a car for you too. The hardest thing to do is get in and out, but they are very experienced and got everyone in and out with minimal extra instruction.
Art the instructor is very straightforward and informative. He gives you the knowledge to keep you and others safe while have a fun and thrilling driving experience.

I have been on the track about 4 times. My first time was a 3 lap ride along. Amazing high speed experience. On one of 10 lap experiences, the spotter was very condescending towards me. I touched the yellow line at the base of the track, and he scolded me and threatened that if I touched the yellow line again he would throw me off the track. I was getting ticked off, but there is no 2-way communication. This was at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Being talked to that way totally destroyed the fun of it and I just finished my laps and went home and never returned.
Once I while trying to locate the entrance to the experience, I was driving towards to the actual racetrack, unknowingly. It's poorly marked as you are entering. Someone drove up to me in a pickup truck and basically disrespected me. Instead of giving me clear directions on how to get to the registration area and parking, he told me, "you better get out of there and go in another direction before I get in trouble." I was baffled and didn't feel welcomed at that point. It's a fun experience when the spotters are cool and motivate you as you drive, but there are some guys who shouldn't be spotters at all.

Bought this driving experience for my dad for Christmas and tried to wait until warmer weather. He's a HUGE Nascar fan. Sadly, it was the most disorganized thing we've ever seen and we were there almost 4 hours for 5 minutes of driving and we waited outside and it was COLD. He looked great in his pics, but he couldn't hear in the radio, he had a difficult time climbing in and out of the car, and overall he said it wasn't really worth it.
Kristen Holmes — Google review
Drove at Bristol today and it was an absolutely amazing experience! Definently had a dangerous few moments however, when my radio communication with my spotter was non-existent. Couldn't hear a word from him on the track for a few laps and it was similar to bad phone reception. Just a few little noises here and there, but no discernable words. To make it worse, it is a one-way communication system so I was unable to relay that I was not getting anything from my spotter. Very fortunate not to have been hit by one of more of the other cars on track. I tried to pull off early to remedy the issue, and two cars went on either side of me as I was slowing down, basically making it three wide, however, I had no idea they were coming until they were going by. A moment later, his voice finally came through my ear piece with, "you're doing fine driver, just keep it up". So I got it straightened out and it went fine after the first few laps. Not a complaint as much, just hoping this doesn't happen too frequently. Overall though, ton of fun and the man teaching the class beforehand, (Art) is his name, was awesome! Thorough and descriptive. Would be 5 stars for me if they had a two-way radio communication with your spotter.

Bought it for my adult kids and myself. We got there and it was raining so they canceled the event and wouldn't refund our money. They said we would have to go to another event. The only events they had were out of state and they expected us to travel just to take a few laps in some old race cars. I told them to forget it. They still would not refund and were pretty rude about it. I don't think Rusty would approve but then again who knows, maybe he doesn't really care. There were 4 of us and it was a lot of money.
Luckily I paid with a credit card and was able to work with the card company and they took it off of the card otherwise I would have been stuck by these crooks. One star is giving them way too much credit, they deserve many minus'.
