East Fork State Park
State park
Nature & Parks
Recreation area with rugged hills, a lake & open meadows for picnicking, swimming & hiking.
We went for a 5 night stay in our motor home, very clean and quiet place full hookups doesn't include cable was the only issue but it really wasn't an issue we had a Great time meeting others and talking around the fire!! Beautiful lake to boat & fish.
Ron Warner — Google review
This beach was the cleanest of all the state parks I've ever been to. The size of the beach was amazing, along with the sand clean and free from debris and goose poop. The water was really clean also. They have a huge bathroom with a place to rinse off the sand. Underneath the restrooms looks to be a concession stand it wasn't open when I was there probably because it was on a Monday. You definitely have to check this place out.
Jessica Ashcraft — Google review
Great park . Nice place to go fishing or kayaking. The camp ground could use a little more space to park your truck . Camp site are really made for camper less than 30 ft long
michael stephens — Google review
I think the place has a wonderful atmosphere and plenty to do. It's massive compared to a lot of other campgrounds. I mean, there are just so many camp sites. They even have a bike trail and horse trails. You can even bring your horse with you while camping. And the park itself, is a pretty huge chunk of property. It's a beautiful state park with a lot more to offer than you would think, with excellent staff, clean facilities, and one of the largest lakes around, if you are in Ohio, you gotta check out East fork state park.
Anthony Leppert — Google review
Very large state park with just about everything that you would need or want in a state park. The only thing it doesn't have is a lodge. Every area that I was at was very well maintained.
Roger DeLong — Google review
We stopped here to stay closer to serpent mound. We found that the campground was very beautiful! This is a huge campground! On my 400 sites. Our 40 ft 5th wheel was accommodated very well.
Alex — Google review
Loved our Campsite #264 lots of room back by the fire & picnic table. Our girls had so much fun! Wish there was a sidewalk/path that connected the different loops & camp store.
Lacey Cummins — Google review
It was a little crowdy even with it being cloudy, but not too bad. Unfortunately as soon as we got in the water, we saw a dead catfish floating towards the beach and eventually land there near us. But other than it was a nice calm day.

We love East Fork! We're always happy and visit a couple times a year. I had my first complaint this trip. We went to the campers lake and took our dog. We had to go to the boaters/dog side, which I totally understand. It was covered in sticks and limbs. I'm thankful we can take our dogs ,but it definitely needs cleaned up.

Nice state park to visit. Bridal and hiking trails along with a 6 mile bike path. Lots of things to do with a family. Nice campsites.
Jo Seiter — Google review
Great place to hang out on a hot day! Plenty of room for a lot of people. We went over Labor Day weekend and it did not feel crowded. The bathrooms are a small hike from the beach but are clean!
The ground was hard when we were there so if you need to stake something down bring metal stakes and something to pound them in with.
There was a family that left most of their garbage and didn’t clean up after their kids. Please clean up after yourself! There’s plenty of garbage cans and dumpsters!
Mike Behr — Google review
Very beautiful, it has been years since hiking here, and I was not disappointed. Hiked almost 5 miles and I know there is many more miles available to hike.
Found a small fawn immediately off the trail, a turtle and quite a few
Spittle bugs. The foamy substance that is on the wild flowers contains a Spittle bug.
Justin Gibson — Google review
We hiked the 5 mile trail and it was beautiful. I suggest if hiking to wear hiking boots/shoes or at least sturdy shoes as some of the trail is a little hard. My husband and I are in our mid 60's and had very little difficulty.
Erin Moeller — Google review
My daughter and I stopped and saw the unknown soldiers. Put as many pennies as I had on the headstones.
Shannon Lunkenheimer — Google review
What a great state park.
Pros
The beach is nice and pretty well kept. The water is warm and people are cordial. They have a fair amount of amenities (bathrooms/showers, walking trails, shelters, etc.) the shoreline is long and offers lots of space to spread out. Lots of grass to play on as well. The hiking trails are nice and well kept. There’s an abundance of parking anywhere you wanna go in the park.
Cons
There is garbage at the hiking trail campsite I visited. The bathrooms were also a disaster there. Sad that people don’t keep them up, but if the park is going to offer them there should be some level of expectation to maintain them. There is a major tick infestation. Not the parks fault but the state is having a large issue. Hiked for 15 minutes and had 2 on my ankle I had to pluck out.
Give me a like if this was helpful.
We did the kidnapping room and had so much fun. The room and clues were so smart and so well played together. There was a group of 8 of us and we all were able to partake without feeling unneeded or that there were too many people in the room. Our game master, Ryan, was great and so fun to work with. Highly recommend Breakout Games and we will definitely be back to try out the other rooms!
Jennifer Lee — Google review
We did the Island Escape, 3 adults, 1 teen (birthday boy), and 4 children ranging in age from 5 to 9. Austin was our Game Master and he did an awesome job. It was so much fun. We broke out in 50 minutes with minimal help and all the kids were clamoring to do another one! So much fun!
Rita Schubach — Google review
It was so fun! I do feel like they could make it a little bit easier, because it kind of felt like we would never figure the clues out. Overall, I would rate this a super fun experience! Definitely something I would come back to! -11yo daughter

Such a great time! Our game master Moss was fun, friendly and helpful. Have been several times and each different game always has unique and fun challenges. Will of course come back again until we run out of games!
Erin Taylor — Google review
Our Girl Scout Troop had so much fun doing the breakout rooms. They accommodated us with two different games and rooms for the size of our group. We had two different game masters. The group I was with had Val, who was AMAZING. We had a younger group who were very nervous, cautious, and get scared easily but she was absolutely sweet and gave us good hints or warned us when things might pop out. What was really great about Val is that she was so encouraging even though we didn't finish in the time limit. I would hands down go back again and request Val!!
Erin Bowman — Google review
It was an amazing and fun experience. I took my girlfriend out to escape from one of the rooms and we managed to do it with the two of us. It was challenging, thrilling and fun all at the same time. I recommend everyone to give it a try. The experience was even better thanks to our game master Ryan. He was able to help us when we were stuck but not give the answers away. Thank you guys for the great night!

We had a 64 yr old, a 41 yr old, 26(ish) yr old, & an 11 yr old.
We ALL had a blast, had :59 left and cannot wait to go back! We did Runaway train, everyone had something to do, nobody felt left out. Great bonding experience, don’t be afraid to ask for help, they were watching the whole time.just let us know when we were headed in right direction without actually GIVING us a significant step! Totally recommend!
Corinne Morgese — Google review
My family and I LOVE breakout rooms as a way to spend quality time together. It’s always such a fun experience, and Brandon was so so kind and was silly with us when we made dumb jokes about the story line. It was interactive in the best way, and we can’t wait to come back! ☺️
Brooke Kaster — Google review
This was my third or fourth time here, and have loved it every single time! We did the Wild West room and our game master was Seana. She was absolutely amazing, and the room was incredibly fun!
Went again with a different group tonight. We did the Mystery Mansion and it was also a lot of fun. Oliver was the game master this time, and did excellent as well.
Daniel Riley — Google review
i had my birthday at breakout games and it was an amazing experience like always. our game master was Megan and we loved working with her! she was able to give us hint and clues without taking out the fun of finding things out on our own. we did museum heist and i was very impressed by the different ways to solve clues, aka not everything was opening a pad lock. i love the diversity of the workers at break out games and the environment that they make. definitely want to work here when i am old enough!!
Ellie Hanchak (stomach) — Google review
Came with my best friend and we did the Mystery Manor. We had a blast! I will definitely be coming back again. Mac was so funny and nice and his hints were easy to understand. Just the two of got so close! I recommend Breakout Games - Dayton for a fun rainy day activity! We had fun just the two of us buy a group would be hilarious!

Super fun! We had 5 adults and a 14 year old. It was fun for all of us, we did the submarine escape. The room looked very cool! Our game master Fable was great and helped us when we got super stuck at the end 😅 My only complaint would be the room was a little to warm for all of us. But I would still recommend and visit again.
Sara Singleton — Google review
We had a blast! We were celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday! We did the Runaway Train Escape Room. Ash was AMAZING as our guide! He assisted us with a few clues, was pleasant and made it a fun experience! We finished under 50 minutes! We will be back!
Victoria Gribler — Google review
If i could id rate them with more than 100 stars!! This was one of the most undoubtedly amazing experiences I've gotten to do thus far in my lifetime. We went in as a group of 5 for part of a bridal shower day of events, we all had so much fun even though there were frustrating times. I would highly recommend trying an escape room at least once in your life. The employees are great and kind as well!! I will definitely be going back to do this again, of course a different room/challenge.
Tiffany Moses — Google review
Awesome escape room! We did the kidnapping and our Gamemaster Nebula was amazing! Super helpful and gave just enough of a hint to get us going without giving away the game. Super cool setup and really makes you think. 10/10 would recommend and can’t wait to try their other games… they have 8 different setups I believe. Great experience!!
Cameron Gurr — Google review
We had my daughters 15th birthday here with 4 of her friends. They did the kidnapping room with Brandon as their game master and did he a great job. My wife and I waited out in the front waiting room and heard our group cheering and yelling. One of the girls in our group said it was a great adrenaline rush!
J Shaw — Google review
We had so much fun taking our son to the Mystery Mansion!! Kelly was our game master and she was amazing. She really made the experience so great! Definitely recommend this as a fun and unique family activity!
Jennifer Low — Google review
It was a great family experience. We had a vet emergency where one of our kids was held up and wouldn't make it for our appointment time. I called and asked what our options were and they said they could hold our room until we got there due to no one booking after us. The entire family had a great time and the staff was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
Jonathan Denniston — Google review
My friends and I had an awesome venture! We were given good clues, she was able to help when our chains were tangled and she explained the rest of the clues that we missed. We also got free pizza for failing the escape room😎
Trinity Stevens — Google review
We had the best time I took my two grandkids and two of there friends and they loved it as much as I did what a great time to spend with friend and family of all ages.
Kimberly King — Google review
Went here as a birthday date with my friend and we chose the kidnapping room, we had a blast and escaped with time to spare! Brandon was wonderful through the whole experience, I have never had a more delightful game master! He encouraged us and did not interfere unless asked. Thank you. Brandon for making this a wonderful experience!!!!!
Carillon Historical Park is a 65-acre historical park located in Dayton, Ohio that showcases the many important innovations in transportation that have originated from the area. The Park contains 25 historically significant buildings, including the 1905 Wright Flyer III, the world's first practical airplane and National Historic Landmark, as well as exhibits about Dayton's contributions to World War II. The park also features a brewery and an exhibit about the 1913 flood that struck Dayton.
Perfect for the family!
Whether it’s the history, the natural scenery, or the interactive areas the Carillon Historical Park is a landmark that will be enjoyed by the whole family. Truthfully, you could spend all day here or split it up amongst a few days. The museum has both indoor and outdoor area to be entertained which is great depending on the time of year. We look forward to coming back through the seasons!
We really enjoyed the food at the Brewery as well!
Brennen Waldron — Google review
I had a lot of fun exploring the park and museums. It took about 2.5 hours to get through about half of the park. There's more buildings than I could fit in a single trip. Not sure if there's enough left to warrant a second trip but I'd recommend visiting once if you're in the area.
Andrew Jones — Google review
Carillon Historical Park is an absolute gem, blending rich history, innovation, and natural beauty into a seamless experience. The park is beautifully maintained, with each exhibit, including the awe-inspiring 1905 Wright Flyer III, thoughtfully curated to offer comprehensive insights into the region's significant past. What truly enhances the visit are the very friendly employees, who eagerly approach visitors with fascinating information about the exhibits, adding depth and engagement to the experience. A delightful surprise is the on-site printing company that crafts cards with kids' names free of charge, a charming touch that delights both young visitors and their families. Additionally, the Carillon Brewing Co. provides a taste of history with its historically accurate brewing process, making it the perfect spot to conclude a day of exploration. Carillon Historical Park is not just about revisiting the past; it's a vibrant, educational outing where history comes alive through passionate storytelling, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in exploring America's rich technological and cultural heritage in a beautifully curated and welcoming environment.

First time visiting here. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Didn't get to explore everything, there is so much to explore. Definitely will go back to explore more of the park. The Cafe is absolutely off the charts amazing. The Culp Burger & fires were amazing. I tired the phosphate blue raspberry drink & it was amazing. Definitely would recommend visiting & eating here. It is somewhat expensive at the Cafe, but I believe worth the money. Entry into the park is reasonable price as well.
Joel Collins — Google review
This place is a nice area to go for a walk and to experience the history of the railroad and The Wright brothers.
$12 for adults and 3 and under are free admission. Train rides are available base on a schedule. Mini train rides for children and grownups as well that last about 5-8 minutes long. The park itself is nice and well keep. Restaurant on sight and clean restrooms are available along with wheelchair parking.
Come here for a nice outing with family. It was a great experience and something to do that can take up most of your day and get fresh air as well as learning something new 🙂.

A great experience overall with a lot of incredible history. I love that the goal is to build up Dayton and all the incredible people who played a part in its history.
Admittedly I did come with a school so things are probably ran a little different when there are busloads of students coming at once.
Employees are a little intense about who qualifies for train rides and carousel rides. Why not just include it in admission prices?
I understand you need to make money but also the kids already paid to get in, is that dollar really making that big of a difference if the train is already running and so is the carousel?
Morgan Perryman — Google review
We toured the historical park as a group, with the help of a really affable and knowledgeable guide. The many things we learned about the Wright Brothers, their personalities, their numerous inventions and innovations, and their family made it a truly engaging experience. Highly recommend!
Deb Stellrecht — Google review
I didn't know what to expect, but this is a really nice park. I went for the Wright Bros Museum but all the other stuff was equally fascinating. Lots of exhibits scattered throughout period buildings really made for an enjoyable afternoon. The brewery on property is also nice and serves old fashioned sodas in addition to beer and German food.
Matthew Schneider — Google review
Very well laid out exhibit and informative, nice to walk around and see lots of local history. Dayton great flood, transportation, Wright Bros. Can’t wait to see the 1/4 scale train when it opens up late 2022. Climbing the 120 step Brethren Clock tower you can see the current incomplete miniature train track layout. Enjoyed the visit.
Charles Wain — Google review
Came here in august and loved every minute of it. I was sad that a few of the exhibits were closed, but there was still a lot to see. We spent a good amount of time with the trains and the Wright brothers exhibit. The couple's that gave us the tours were all so sweet too. This wasn't on our list when we came to visit Dayton, but I'm so glad we did stop by. Highly reccomend.
Briana Harrier — Google review
🛩️🖨️ and a lot more history.
Volunteers/ workers here are passionate about local history.
Large space with different buildings and facilities 🚻
I would recommend to allocate 3-4 hrs to see it all.
Entry price 💲 was a little higher than what I think would be fair.
Gnans — Google review
Our family love this place! We try to always go to the kid friendly events they host. This weekend it was the antique fire apparatus event. Highly recommend coming to Carillon Historical Park with a membership. (Most events are free with membership) you also get discounts at the stores.

Great variety of Dayton related historical artifacts and presentations, highly recommend a stop. Displays range from the Wright Brothers cycling and aviation work (including their 1905 flyer on display) to impressive transportation displays with very old autos, trains, and wagons. The oldest standing house in Dayton is here too, along with old schoolhouse, mill, and other displays. I was very impressed and spent hours here. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.
A Nabs — Google review
Had no idea this place was so huge and filled with so many incredible artifacts. We went just to see the Wright Brothers exhibit but ended up spending all day touring cash registers, printing presses, steam engines, cars and so much more! A definite must see in Dayton.
Jeanne Cumby — Google review
We stopped here for a couple hours on the way back to Wisconsin from Dayton, and we were pleasantly surprised! The cash registers were very fascinating and a really cool look into the history of commerce in this country. Some of the museum inside felt a bit like capitalistic propaganda at times, but that's how these old products were sold in those times and it was fascinating nonetheless.
We also checked out the Wright museum and the old houses and school house as well as the train museum here. The tour of the Wright brothers' first few planes was really great. Seeing the reconstruction of the 1905 flyer was really awe inspiring. The amount of human ingenuity on display in this museum was palpable and really hit home as to the huge strides in technology we've been achieving over the last 200+ years.
The train museum was also really fun to see. Going inside the old trains and imagining how traveling worked back in those times was also really great to see.
For some reason, this museum made for a more impactful experience of human history than a lot of other museums out there. It's a museum of human progress and human genius instead of human setbacks and human tragedies. I really enjoyed it and the next time we're in Dayton with the kids, we'll for sure be going back and maybe take a train tour of the grounds next time!
Ryan Boelter — Google review
I didn’t know what to expect from this museum/historical park, but I was pleasantly surprised! Lots of interesting history and fun facts about the innovators and entrepreneurs from Dayton. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. And of course, they have a Wright Flyer! Definitely worth a visit.
Eileen Schaumleffle — Google review
The park is beautiful with the Christmas lights and the views are awesome. Lines are fairly long on the weekend, and do buy tickets in advance...or buy a membership. It's well worth it.
Food options are standard, but there's a nice selection of adult beverages, including Glühwein/mulled wine. Lots of unique, "Dayton" gift options. The note cards made in the print shop were lovely.
All of the historical displays are open. The Carillon "tree" is breathtaking.
Go, only Scrooge or Grinch would be disappointed. And I'm sure they'd change their minds after a train ride around the park.
Annmarie Wolcott — Google review
One of the best museums in the state, 14 dollars is more than fair to enter, especially with the history that is preserved within. Absolutely fascinating place. It requires more than a day, you should dedicate 2 days. The print shop, Wright Brothers, Kettering ACDelco, NCR....so much to see.
Wes GS — Google review
This place was awesome. Who knew so much history was in Dayton Ohio! I thought it was so informational and fun, and our kids had a great time!
Bryce Tarnasky — Google review
One of my favorite places in the city. I love hanging out watching for the Eagles who have a made their home here from several years ago. I remember when I was young my mom took my sister and I over by the river and all of these people were holding hands making a human chain together on each side of the banks. (I was so young I don't remember why. I just know it was a neat memory for me and I was happy I got to be there.) I recently went to A Carillon Christmas and had a great time! Took the train ride which was my favorite part. Took home some keepsakes from the gift shops. The bells looked beautiful and you can see it from the new train there or walk right up. Wonderful place. I'll be there looking for the Eagles on a nice day while reminiscing about all the great times I've had there.

I was born and raised near Dayton, and hadn’t visited Carillon Park since I was in 5th grade. It has expanded so much, and truly does a brilliant job at transporting its visitors back in time. I took my daughter and two friends here, and we had a blast! It helps that we all enjoy museums, art and history, and attended on a perfect Fall weekday. We spent a solid 4 hours walking around and really observing everything. The staff was wonderful and was quick to give us more insights into the history. Highly recommend for any and all ages! I definitely left having learned something new. Will gladly visit again!
The National Museum of the United States Air Force houses a vast array of aircraft, military artifacts and exhibits on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base just outside Dayton. The museum is huge, and visitors can explore everything from displays covering Air Force Art to world war II bomber jackets to hundreds of whole aircraft. The museum has an on-site cafe that's a great place to rest after a long day of exploring.
This place has an incredible amount of information and exhibits. They have free tours that guide you through the history of aviation, presidential planes pre-1970, quite a few real planes and many more items. It was not busy when we arrived and it wasn't busy when we left. They have a cafe on site (Valkyrie cafe) and although I didn't eat there, it seemed like a basic place to grab a quick bite. My four year old kids enjoyed it. We will likely be back when they get a bit older. The staff was incredibly nice. Overall a very pleasant experience.

This is by far the greatest air museum I have been to!! Judging from the other reviews here or any where else, the place totally does not disappoint! You and your family definitely should spend a day and you'll see. It's FREE admission and parking. There's plenty of displays and definitely gives honor to the service men and women of the past and present. I would love to visit again! (When they open the Early Days of flight)
Jose Hamtig JR — Google review
This place is huge and has so many planes! It's very informative of all the wars and how the planes came about. I really liked that it had places you could stop and watch a video of people speaking about their experiences. The air force one planes were tight! If you are claustrophobic I do not recommend :D
They were setting up for an air force dinner ball and everyone that came looked amazing!
Gift shop had a lot of fun things you can purchase.
Bird Fleck — Google review
Massive museum with an extensive collections of planes from the beginnings of aviation until today.
Definitely could spend days in there and still have material to read and learn.
A great museum for any history, military or aviation buff.
Lots of walking ( smart watch clocked 6 miles indoors!) so be ready for those distances.
Jean-Francois Désilets — Google review
Took my girlfriend here for a surprised trip and we had such a great experience. Since she's a teacher, she enjoyed reading all the history and facts about the planes and about the equipment used in the wars. I love how clean this place was and spread out so it never felt crowded. I recommend spending about 2 days here if you want to get the full experience and read everything. About 1 day if you just want to look at everything. Great gift shop and cafeteria too.

After 15+ years, I managed to return to this museum, and I was impressed by the changes. -including a new building.
The museum covers flight from the earliest days all the way to current space vehicles
If you go, wear comfortable shoes and bring a spare battery for your camera. The docents are helpful and know details of the exhibits. I do recommend making a donation and getting a site map so you can target sections to visit. I suspect I will find an excuse to return sometime soon.
don crossman — Google review
The exhibits are great. I have visited twice before and would come back again to see the exhibits.
The parking lot has two electric chargers with four parking spots. The charging is slower than my home charger but is at a decent charging rate of about 30 miles per hour.
The food court is expensive. Cost about $50 for one adult and two kids for food and drinks.
Most ridiculous is that there is NO water station anywhere in the museum. I understood that water fountains are not safe in this pandemic. However, at least the museum should put water bottle fill stations.
Other than staying thirsty, your only option is to visit the cafe and pay $2.75 for a bottle of water.
In the cafe, there is NO plastic recycling for the plastic package and the water bottles. As a public institution, the museum should do better on recycling.
Haigang Zhou — Google review
This is such an awesome museum. They have so many airplanes to look at. If you are an airplane enthusiast set aside at least a whole day to spend here. There is so much history in this museum. They also have some simulators you can try out, those cost money. Be warned, the cafe is very expensive. If you can I recommend eating elsewhere. The gift shop is awesome and has all kinds of cool things to get.
Lorantz Rogers — Google review
This place is a great learning experience for anyone who wants to know about military or the planes involved and the aircraft in general. Seeing it up close is a beautiful thing because from TV or just photos you can't really tell the true size of this place as well as the aircraft inside. Very beautifully taken care of great summertime fun nice and cool on the inside. Great for the whole family! Definitely worth visiting!!! They even have a gift shop and a food area.
CatBlueyes2289 — Google review
It was an amazing experience! The museum is so huge, and there are so many different aircraft to see! Lots of experimental and hard-to-find aircraft, and from so many different time periods. There is also a large collection of presidential aircraft which you can walk through and a missile collection. An outstanding collection that you could easily spend a few days looking at. Great place for history enthusiasts and aviation nuts. Would highly recommend.
Sam Smith — Google review
Awesome place from start to finish! The lady at the beginning who helped show us things on the map that we wanted to see was VERY helpful. This is an incredible place for aviation enthusiasts, people interested in history, little kids amazed by big vehicles, etc. Everyone should try to make it here at least once. Even the bathrooms were good, the facility was clean, and the gift shop had lots of good quality fun things to choose from. We'll definitely be back!

You can get a sweeping view of Air Force and military aviation progress at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum. There are more than 360 aircraft and aerospace vehicles on display, many rare and one-of-a-kind. In addition, you’ll find thousands of historical aviation artifacts. If you love the Air Force, aviation or the military in general, you will want to visit. We have been to several service national museums and this one is one of the best. Highly recommend visiting. Would definitely suggest to plan to visit with 4-5 hours available. Museum admission and parking are free (fee for theater and flight simulators).

Such a wonderful experience!! I visited the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on 30 November 2023. The Behind the Scenes Tour was aHHmazing! Our Tour Guide, Will McLaughlin, was fun, personable, polite, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking a field trip for work, school, or with your family. You will not be disappointed. I had a great time!

I had a limited amount of time to view the display. I was blown away by the size of some of the aircraft. You just don't have a true feel for some of these aerospace vehicles until you're standing right next to it. Service is great. The facility was very clean. I took advantage of their free mobility cart because of an injury. I would not have been able to view much of the displays but I was able to make it through all the buildings without being an excruciating pain which is a win-win for me. I highly recommend it.

Simply incredible, and FREE to enter. So many amazing planes. Probably the only place you can see 2 different SR71 models in the same museum. Some other favorites there were the YF 23, F 117 and the B2. The prototype planes were neat too. It took me about two hours just to look at everything and read maybe 15%. If you are near and have more than 2 hours you need to go

I had a great 3 hours in the museum. I wasn't expecting so many air and space craft. It took quite a bit just to walk around. I got an hour tour of hanger 4 from Dennis - and it was AMAZING. Dennis served in the Air Force so he had his own stories but was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire museum and each plane. Just a fantastic experience. A must see!

Free to get in!
I recently visited the Air Force museum and was pleasantly surprised by the extensive indoor and outdoor exhibits they had to offer. The museum was filled with a lot of people, more than I had planned for, but it added to the energetic atmosphere of the place.
The indoor exhibits were informative and well-curated, showcasing the history and advancements of the Air Force over the years. I particularly enjoyed the displays of vintage planes and helicopters, as well as the interactive exhibits that allowed visitors to get a hands-on experience of what it's like to be a pilot.
The outdoor exhibits were equally impressive, with a wide range of aircraft displayed in an open-air setting. It was fascinating to see the different planes up close and learn about their unique features and capabilities.
One thing to note is that weapons are not allowed on the premises, so be sure to leave those at home. However, this didn't detract from the overall experience, as the museum had plenty of other interesting things to see and do.
Overall, I had a great time at the Air Force museum and would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in aviation or military history. The exhibits were engaging, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I left feeling enriched by all that I had learned during my visit.

Impressive sized museum with an extensive collection of aircraft throughout history. I spent about 3 hours here, and still more to see. I went on a free tour that was really informative and interesting. They offer various free tours in different sections. This is a museum for all ages and interests. Definitely recommend to go here.

This is hands down one of my favorite museums. I've been 4-5 times now and love bringing friends and family for their first time. The staff is fantastic and the tours are incredible. You could spend all day here and learn so much. It would be hard to fit everything into one day if you do all the tours. They are free and 100% worth it.

Lot of history and plenty of planes to see. It's definitely a place for all age groups, especially for those who love history and big planes. The place is huge so I'd encourage you to carry plenty of fluids. The entry into Air Force One was great, although it's not a newer plane. I would plan for a full day visit so you get ample time to see everything. Don't miss the theater show and be sure to check the show timings ahead of visit.

This place this incredible! To begin its 100% free! How can you beat that. Besides that this place is a history bombshell! Tons of history in this place beyond just military. They have stuff dedicated to the beginning of flight. Then they progress through flight throughout history starting with world war I moving to world war II then the Vietnam and korean war and moving to modern flight. The end is space flight and presidential planes. Awesome place. Interactive for kids and more information than you can take in for a single visit. Will have to return.

AWESOME experience! If you are a history museum fan, if you love airplanes, if you want to see the biggest collection of aero history in one place, you have to plan to visit!
The museum is free to attend. They ask for a donation. Parking is free and plenty of it. We walked through all the hangers and spent the entire day at the museum (which is so easy to do because there is so much to see!!). There are free guided tours (see website in advance to see times and hangers) that give so much information about the planes and history. I was at this museum when I was a kid- it’s been over 30 years- and now my first time back with my own kids, it was way better and far exceeded my expectations! My husband who is military, my 10 year old son- all completely blown away at this gem of a museum!
We will definitely be going back at some point! Worth doing again!
Do plan to spend the whole day.
Don’t forget the planes outside too!
There is a cafe. Only water in clear bottles allowed. But if you pack a cooler there are covered shelters outside for a picnic lunch.

Wow. So much to see. I am sure we barely touched the surface. There were so many things to hear and read about. The museum is donation based only. There is a simulator you can pay to ride. We loved walking I. The old Air Force One planes. But the space is tight in those. Not really for the claustrophobic! Overall a great stop for us!

The Dayton Air Force Museum is an absolute must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in aviation, history, or the U.S. Air Force. This museum is a journey through the evolution of aviation and the incredible achievements of the United States Air Force.
Upon entering, you're greeted by an array of aircraft, from the early Wright Brothers' creations to the most advanced and iconic fighter jets of today. The collection is impeccably maintained, and the attention to detail in the exhibits is impressive.
What sets this museum apart is its commitment to storytelling. The exhibits are not just about hardware; they're about the people, the missions, and the impact of the U.S. Air Force on our world. The personal stories, dioramas, and interactive displays engage visitors of all ages.
The staff is knowledgeable, passionate, and always willing to answer questions or share anecdotes, adding depth to the experience. And the best part? Admission is free, making it accessible to everyone.
Whether you're a history buff, a fan of aviation, or just looking for an enriching and enjoyable day out, the Dayton Air Force Museum delivers on all fronts. It's an educational and entertaining journey through the skies and beyond, leaving you with a newfound appreciation for the bravery and innovation that have shaped our world.

100% Awesome, probably the only government entity with a 4.9 ⭐ rating out of 23,000 reviews.
This place is fantastic, it took me 4 hours and I wasn't able to see everything that I wanted. So much cool history and definitely a sense of pride as an American seeing where we have been and I'm curious what will be in the fifth hangar in the future twenty years from now!
They definitely need a F16 and F35

Great place to visit. Free parking, free admission. You can donate whatever amount and get a map from them (optional). The have free double stroller to use indoors if needed for kids. You are able to walk through certain planes. Others have small cockpits a kids can climb into. Gift shop is pricy (not surprising for a free museum)

The fact this place is free is INSANE. It is massive, and has so many incredible aircraft’s, artifacts, and informative plaques. we only spent 2 hours here (only visiting the area and in a bit of a rush) could have easily spent 2+ more.it is so spacious! And packed for the brim with things to see. My husband is a history nerd and loved it all, they have very unique things here. Museum is very well kept and clean, and there is plentiful staff if you have questions.

This was the ultimate place to experience a total solar eclipse. I drove 1200 miles for the experience, and it was well worth it. This museum is inconceivably big, with huge galleries containing almost 400 planes. Curation of exhibits is first rate. One could spend days in there. And the parking and admission are free. An ultimate deal. Staff did a great job putting on a mega event for the eclipse of 2024.

A truly amazing and interactive journey through aviation history. They have it all and help you to journey through history. From the Wright brothers to Air Force One to the world’s fastest plane the SR-71 Blackbird. We spent the whole day here and still didn’t have enough time to see it all. I can’t wait to return again soon.

What can I say. The National Museum of the US Airforce is fantastic. I have wanted to go here for years, as it’s the only place in the world with a real flying saucer. To say I was impressed is an understatement. We have nothing like this in the UK and it puts every air museum I have been to, including in Washington DC to shame.
If you like planes, this is one place you HAVE to visit. I went a long way out of the way when driving from Chicago to Niagara Falls to visit here and it was well worth it. Over 1000 planes, covering from the Wright Brothers; from just down the road; to the very latest F-22 and B2. Though it’s a shame the B2 isn’t real and not a very good mock-up.
I would definitely recommend visiting here and its one of few places worthy of a special trip to see it. You can easily spend all day here.

It's a huge museum and very well maintained ed. We are surprised it is FREE entry. Ample parking, free again.
It took us 3.5 hours to take a quick tour. There were many exhibits of real plane remains and stuff. Many movies playing every corner showing how the remains were collected and refurbished for display. We enjoyed. There were many other interactive stations, kids loved.
Start from exhibits 3 if you have kids. They have virtual reality and other simulation rides. Some other engaging exhibits for children there.
SUPER expensive food. Not worth it at all. A small slice of co-pilot pizza, charged at 8$. Way toooo much.

This is an amazing collection of aircraft. It starts with early flight with the Wright Brothers and other pioneers of flight right up to the present day. Piston engine and jets. It is all indoors and 361 aircraft. Organized by era it is marvellous to see. And amazingly it is free. Spend two days if you have the time! Highly recommended!

My visit to this museum was truly memorable and enjoyable. The extensive collection of presidential aircraft on display was both impressive and educational, offering a unique glimpse into the history of presidential travel. The exhibits were well-maintained and thoughtfully presented, making our walk through the museum a delightful experience. However, the only downside to our visit was the limited food options available at the museum's restaurant. Beyond just chips and small snacks, there wasn't much variety for a proper meal, which was a bit disappointing. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience at the museum was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in aviation or presidential history. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, adding to the positive atmosphere of our visit.

We had a great visit with an air force veteran. Most of the museum is accessible except for the space shuttle and Air Force One exhibits(the elevator to the upper level of the shuttle was out of order and the Presidential planes feature tight corridors you have to squeeze through). The Museum is well laid out and flows from one era of aviation to the next. Well worth the visit and you could definitely spend more than one day there to absorb everything there is to see.

Always a great experience! Lots of history with a chance to see aviation throughout time. This time the kids came at well (12 and 11, boy and girl) they both had a great time as well! Highly recommend...have to give a donation of any amount for a map of the place. Otherwise, free to enter and enjoy.

I hadn't been here since I was a kid! I came here for the eclipse to see totality on 4/8/24; the event was extremely well organized. While the museum was very busy, the only claustrophobic moments were entering the building and using the bathroom closest to the entrance.
If you are anywhere in the Cincinnati-Dayton-Columbus area and you can take a day, visit this place. If you're an engineer in the aerospace industry, military, or just a huge fan of planes, this place will be heaven for you. Every important aircraft development in the history of the United States (and beyond) is included here.
The place is huge and packed full of details; bring your best walking shoes and pace yourself. If you don't have an entire day, get a map and find your favorites, then focus on seeing those. We spent about 3-4 hours split up by the eclipse and still could have spent another couple of hours in the place.
I left with a mix of feelings; it's a different experience when you're an adult. It has a way of getting your patriotism flowing; it is amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it. On the flip side of that, it is also frightening what we're capable of when we decide to do something; the missile gallery is a sobering reminder of this.
Just a bunch of nerds playing dress up in the woods. I'd never change a thing!!! Love love love the community and people so amazing.. #kamikazefireflies

This was an overall good experience. I went with friends and being there with them made it awesome.
Thinking objectively about the festival itself, though, I don’t think it was worth the ticket price. It’s marketed as a permanent village, which to me made it seem like there would be good, well-made structures there when in reality, much of it looks like thin pieces of old wood nailed together to make ramshackle buildings. Colors are faded on flags and tapestries. The benches are warped and have green things growing on them. The paths are gravel. Shouldn’t it be packed dirt? There wasn’t gravel back then.
There was a lot less period-accurate things happening than I expected. For one, there were loud speakers and microphones used, which I was disappointed by. Shows talked big but did little—passionate people without the talent to back it up. Songs were present-day and sung badly over and over. One woman used a terrible British accent as entertainment. The energy from some was still good and helped make the shows, but I’d say it’s probably more kid-level than an adult would enjoy, yet some of the jokes made aren’t great for kids so there’s an imbalance there. But kids wouldn’t notice the poor performances as well.
The food and drinks are over-priced but that’s to be expected at such an event. I thought it was weird that you could buy pizza and Whiteclaw at a Renaissance festival; this was my first time going and I expected it to be more period-accurate. I did see turkey legs and a sign for mead, but I think the mead was just beer.
It was hard to book it over to shows we wanted to see, too. A bit of a confusing layout and the times weren’t conducive to being able to see one show and then another right after in time. Like the jousting only lasted like 10-15 minutes, so if you were coming from something else, you miss it before you can even arrive. :/
Kids’ rides were super expensive—$4/ride on a rickety-looking old wooden slide? No! 😆
On the other hand, the kettle corn was really good and only $3 for a small, but it was huge! The best value of the whole place. And some people who attended had really beautiful costumes and makeup. That wasn’t thanks to the actual festival or ticket money spent, but it was cool to see.

The Holiday Yuletide Village was beautiful. The shops were transformed to showcase holiday-themed gifts while keeping the renaissance festival alive. We enjoyed walking amongst the lights and characters in the park. The weather was a bit cool so it was nice to spend some time near the many fire pits they had set up. Absolutely a wonderful experience.

Always have a blast. The faire runs for all of September and October and they are bringing back the Yuletide in December. Tons of interesting items to look at. This was my first year attending and I fell in love! The atmosphere is unlike any other. I'd compare the vibe to one similar of a music festival. People were so dedicated to their character. The performers were amazing on and off stage. Food was delicious!

Was super excited to attend the festival for the first time ever! I got my boyfriend and myself tickets for his birthday and we headed to the festival. It took us an hour to get to the entrance when we were 1.5miles away. The park was over crowded and it was very hard to enjoy the activities. I think I would have loved the festivities if there were about half the amount of people there. The large crowds made it hard to see shows and shop at the vendors. The food lines were really long. When we finally tried to leave at 5:50 it took us over 4 hours to get out of the parking lot. I can’t believe we spent so much time dealing with the parking and so little time inside the cramped faire. Not sure if I will ever return and this experience definitely put a damper on my boyfriends birthday present. I couldn’t help but think of the safety of everyone crammed in there if there had been an emergency. Thank goodness mostly everyone left safely- albeit certainly SLOWLY. Please do better in the next years.

The Renaissance Festival was an awesome experience! The tickets are pricey but the amount of entertainment you get throughout the day makes it worth it. There's all kinds of shows, vendors, and food throughout the park and it really makes you feel like you've time traveled. We don’t have anything like this in Ireland. I absolutely loved it. Its great fun dressing up and going along. Some of the people there dressed up are really committed and their costumes look like something from Game of Thrones and Lord of the rings. Its unreal. The atmosphere of the whole place is wonderful. Its crazy its like being transformed back in time once you walk through the gates. The shows are really entertaining. The shops have weird and wonderful stuff. The food and drinks are renaissance inspired. Great play areas for kids. Jousting is the main event and is good fun to watch.

Young's Jersey Dairy is a farm-based establishment that offers not only delicious ice cream but also other activities for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy mini-golf and batting cages, as well as watch cows being milked and feed goats. The restaurant on-site serves cheeseburgers, cheese curds, and other dishes that are sure to satisfy hunger cravings. While prices may be a bit high, many people rave about the quality of their milkshakes.
An excellent place to get a sweet treat after a long day! The buckeye milkshake is so good and well worth the price. I am also very impressed with the new building. You can now hold events there at a modest price, such as corporate get togethers and birthday parties.
I'm glad Young's is still in business. It's brought back memories of getting ice cream with grandpa after bike rides.

I took my family there with my boyfriend for the first time and we had a blast! My nephew had fun feeding the goats for the first time, exploring and seeing all the animals (goats, cows, pigs), climbing in tractors, and exploring the play area made especially for kids his age filled with tons of age appropriate activities which was free for him and he’s under the age of 2. We also got food and ice cream here and it was all delicious! Both came out in a timely manner. They also have a cute little gift shop section you can shop from. This is a perfect place if you are trying to find something for couple of hours depending on the crowd size. If it is just one family then the options you have is farm, petting/feeding animals, walking around to take pictures, maybe games depending on your interest and end up with a good treat...they have great ice cream collections and wide menu. I loved their fried cheese curds..peaches and cream was my favorite along with white cream with chocolate and Raspberry. I get to try their garlic and dill flavor (yes ice cream), for me it tasted like frozen garlic butter. If you are visiting this with few families then you can spend 4+ hours including all fun games....would recommend this place.

We met some of the family at Young's for a treat before they had to head back home out of state. We have eaten here several times but only once before at the new building and tables. There was a really nice shaded area under the porch to eat your treat. Today we got the straw berry short cake with the vanilla ice cream. The whip cream on top is a nice touch. The cake wasn't really pound cake but really just like regular cake. Also the ice cream seemed really sweet more than creamy. The strawberries were nice and fresh and delicious. I probably wouldn't order it again but would stick to the strawberry ice cream. It has always been great.

This is definitely a mid-west experience you don't want to miss, it's massive, large parking lot, petting zoo, long line to order but it moves fast because they know what they are doing. It's great to go for some hikes around Jon Bryan State Park and then get some dinner and ice cream. The ice cream is mandatory don't miss out. Plenty of tables to even on the busiest day I've been you can typically find a seat even for a large group.

Visited here several years ago and thought the restaurant part was quite rundown. Was pleased to see they have redone the restaurant and it is really really nice. Very nice and clean restrooms. Quite a few indoor tables even for groups. Little gift shop inside with various decor and gifts and a plethora of food items - cheese curds, etc. We ate lunch - you order at counter and they give you a beeper to pick up your food from the counter. You can order from your table as well using a QR code. We fed the goats - can buy food outside for a quarter. Went into barn - cows, goats, pig that you could pet. Also pumpkins and gourds to purchase outside. Reasonably priced. Went putt putt golfing with a group - course was well maintained and fun. Ice cream is great and homemade there. Super fun time!

My first time to the new building of Young's Jersey Dairy restaurant. Lots of seating options including a HUGE family table. There is a line for ice cream and a line for food/drink. And the lines go very fast. You place your order and they give you a device to let you know when your order is up at the Grill. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with no bun (because of GF issues), the cheese curds and hot apple cider. My burger was alright, not hot at all, but edible. The cheese curds came with 3 sauces and those curds are delicious!
There is a cute gift shop that includes breads, pies, jams and candy.

This place is phenomenal!! We came for mini putt (udders and putters, are you kidding me?! Genius!) and stayed for baby goats, baby cows, kittens and delicious food. There's an app to pre-order your food and then you head over and pick it up to skip the line, absolutely a time saver. 10/10 would recommend, the 17th hole of mini putt is about the appropriate timing to order, finish your game, meander over, and then everything is ready. We had zero children with us and had an incredible time as adults, definitely a kid-friendly place, but tons of activities for those of us young at heart as well.

What a fun place! We got there early so there really wasn't a big crowd. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors, fresh cheese curds and some baked goods. There are a lot of activities that are family friendly, from wagon rides, corn maze and feeding goats. Overall a fun place! They also have a driving range as well (I didn't check it out but it definitely seemed to be a popular spot). There is plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and plenty of seating for everyone. It appears that they do have different events happening in the weekend.

Homemade ice cream is without a doubt the best flavor. The sandwiches and onion rings take a little longer to serve, but they are also very tasty and should be eaten. There is a cattle barn just around the corner, which can be visited freely, and is recommended for visitors with children.

Planning our return trip to check out the carousel when it’s put in this summer.

I spent about 20 minutes looking around inside at the cheese for sale that sounded awesome and at the gift shop and outside in the barn. The goats were bahhing. It was cute. Petted a little cow. They have hand cleanser stations for after you pet the animals or let them eat feed from your palm. Stopped by on our way out of town to pick up some cheese curds and sweet potato bread. Everyone was extremely kind here, and our cashier recommended her favorite blend of vanilla latte, coffee, and creamer that really hit the spot. This place is worth the stop!

Very clean store that sells lots of varieties of ice cream either at the counter or in bulk containers. A few different kinds of cheese. Ice cream and cheese tasted really good and fresh. A deli area is at the right rear. Also a few food items and novelty items are sold.

What a cool place and the treats were delicious but the line was long and the time we had to wait to get ice cream felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant. (They only had 2 people at the registers)
Lots of fun things for the kids to do.

This restored, prairie-style house designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright is now a museum.
Had a great visit! we were lucky to get there in time for a tour. The lady ( so sorry I forgot her name!) was very informative and a great story teller. The restoration work is amazing!

Price: $15
Duration 1.5hours (tour required. Offered 2x a day on weekdays 11 &1, and 3x on weekends)
Parking: ample free street parking (with actual parking spots) along the house.
A Frank Lloyd Wright designed home that has was purchased by a community organization in the early 2000s and restored to it's original glory. Certainly not the most grand FLW house but worth a quick stop.

Great tour of very nice restored Frank Lloyd Wright house. I drove by this house 25 years ago when it had been subdivided into apartments and was in really bad shape. The organization that did the restoration did an incredible job. I highly recommend the tour if this house.

Just out for a ride and discovered this place by accident. Definitely buy tickets in advance. Unable to take the tour but will go back. Home has bee. Totally restored.

Didn't realize there was a Frank Lloyd Wright house located in Springfield til a few years ago. I'm very interested into architecture and him. I made it to Fallingwater a few years ago which was bucket list checkoff. I would have liked to went inside Westcott but am currently on a budget. Was nice to actually be able to view and appreciate the outside without costing any money.
Brian Dible — Google review
Was driving through town and decided to do a tour and the house was really neat. It was restored a few years ago and they did a wonderful job with the place. The docent was extremely knowledgeable and spoke clearly. Her stories about the house and the family really explained the history well. It's unfortunate they don't have more of the original furniture but it's understandable why they don't and they're lucky to have the house in such great shape.

Nice tour of this FLW prairie style home built in the first decade of the 1900s. It has a garage rather than a carriage house. Mr. Westcott was developing a Westcott automobile, which never apparently happened after Mrs. Westcott passed away. He also was a mayor of Springfield. Our guide John G., a Springfield native was very good, and the gift shop was amazing, maybe the best I've been in of the FLW sites I've toured.

One of the best Frank Lloyd Wright tours we have ever taken. The house has been beautifully restored to its original greatness. A must stop for all FLW fans

A fantastic tour! From the family's history and the area's history, great information. It looks like the place could use some touch-up repairs and a deep clean though. Learn about distinct FLW elements and take a journey into the past. Fun experience.

Informative small-group tour in a thoroughly renovated frank Lloyd wright early house. Furniture are newly built but with a design accurate for the period. Very well stocked gift shop including motawi tiles and teco revival vases. If you're in the area it's worth it, but do make a reservation for the tour.

I went on the home tour a few years back. It was so informative and eye opening to historical preservation in action. What an incredible architectural specimen in Ohio!

So glad we made time for this tour while in Columbus for a concert. Excellent docent! Highly encourage visiting and supporting this beautiful architecture and history.

Very interesting tour. Enjoyed learning about the history of the architect as well as the family who owned the house. Must see!!
Everyone should come enjoy this small national park! You won't spend an awful lot of time here, so it's even good for kids. The workers at the information desk are friendly and have lots of information and pamphlets to give you. There are many mounds here, and some of them have information signs explaining their significance. There's plenty of parking and clean restrooms here.

Wonderful place to visit to learn about indigenous people of Ohio and their continuing importance/impact. The park rangers are very informative and kind.
Megan Smeznik — Google review
This was my first visit to this National Historic Park area. Excellent presentation of indigenous (native) peoples ingenuity and sophisticated culture before the Europeans arrived. The Mound City group is just one of several sites in the newly designated World Cultural Heritage area. Make sure you see this and the other sites to truly experience the mounds and other earthworks of the Hopewell culture that flourished in the central and southern Ohio landscape.
Mike Stoehr — Google review
This park is really impressive. The mounds are amazing. There is a small visitors center with video and a gift shop.
There are trails outside with different information boards to read. I have very limited mobility and get around on an electric scooter. I could go as far as the sidewalk.
They did have an off road wheel chair that you can borrow to go on the trails. That was really nice to see.
Cat Lady — Google review
A lot of interesting history about an incredible culture. What's left off the signs is that all the mounds are reconstructions. They are well researched and in the correct places, but between farming, an Army camp, and some archeology the original mounds are no longer here.
Nice picnic area with lots of shade. Friendly ranger and volunteer in the visitor center.

The National Park Service manages several Hopewell mound sites in the Chillicothe area. The Hopewell Culture National Historical Park's visitor center is located at Mound City Group and is the only site that has a full facility with a museum, gift store, restrooms and helpful rangers. Despite this site's name "Mound City Group", this site was not a residential area but rather a burial and ceremonial ground. Anyone fascinated with ancient mounds and earthworks needs to visit this site. And if your travel plans include seeing all the earthworks in the Chillicothe area, see this one first to give you a better understanding of what you will be seeing at some of the other sites where the earthworks no longer exist but are only outlined by mowing the grass on the ground where they once stood. The museum and park rangers will also provide valuable information about the people who created and utilized these structures. We arrived around 3pm and were told that we could join a ranger led tour that started shortly after. Ranger Sue was so informative! I learned so much!

Outstanding film. Great rangers. Walk around the site to experience the history it’s amazing.
James Carroll — Google review
I enjoyed it, even though some of the paths did get some minor flooding. Nothing too disruptive. I would say the largest issue was the large, high-voltage power lines running through the ceremonial areas.
Christian Malone — Google review
Free! It's basically a big flat field... i was underwhelmed. There is a nice trail, lots signage explaining what was, but do to farming and land usage, most of it looks like a big grassy field. It is large... the interpretive trail is 2.25 miles and basically goes around the site.
COSI is an educational science center that offers interactive exhibits, working labs, and planetarium shows. The Center of Science and Industry is popular with kids and adults alike for its interactive learning opportunities like the electrostatic generator and High Wire Unicycle.
The over all experience was great!! There is plenty of things to see and learn from most being highly interactive to keep the kids entertained and engaged. Some of the themes include space, life, electrical, recycling and many more. Including a special exhibit featuring Cuba that I personally found very interesting. There is also indoor and outdoor play areas. The interactive stage was a nice break for the kids to enjoy an informative show on electric charges. The only down side was the extra expenses that aren't included in the initial entry fee. The Marvel superhero was the one that stood out for us. None the less we enjoyed our experience and look forward to taking the two hour trip back up again soon.
Dusty Sands — Google review
We absolutely had a blast at COSI! We were trying to fit a lot in and definitely needed more time and we were there for 5 hours. My little girl was three at the time and we did have to pay for her. I am a teacher so I did get entry free which was so nice! If I wouldn't have checked out the counter and paid cash I never would have known that so I'm glad we didn't prepay.
The activities were fun and engaging. There were so many sections that we couldn't really do with our girl because of her age so we are looking forward to going back multiple times as she's growing. The tot area was okay for her. She is almost four so she was a little bored up there. She really enjoyed the house area.
We really loved multiple areas where my husband and I could have stayed there for hours playing! I love that they had an interactive space where they could make parachutes and test them out! We really had fun in that area as well. I could go on and on... So much fun exploring science!
Brandy Hart Carroll — Google review
While the Center of Science and Industry museum has some interesting exhibits, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The exhibits seemed outdated, and there weren't enough interactive activities to keep visitors engaged. Additionally, the ticket prices felt too high for what was offered. Overall, it's an okay place to spend a few hours, but don't expect to be wowed.
The Titanic Exhibit was an additional $42 per person after paying the $35 entry fee and with parking and any food and trinkets !! Not sure how these places expect to go broke!
Christopher Hamm — Google review
The price was quite a bit of sticker shock, especially the random Columbus arts and culture fee 🙄.. but seeing how the kids reacted to everything, even how the adults in my group had fun with them was pretty awesome. We passed on the additional cost attractions so I can't comment on those ... Except the marvel exhibit. That alone is worth the whole trip for me, it's a FANTASTIC exhibit and I highly recommend it for adults and children alike.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Atomic cafe food was excellent. Whole museum was clean and well organized. If it was closer to me I would even consider the membership program they offer.

This museum was so much fun! Went with some friends and we had the most amazing time. So many interactive exhibits and many learning points. The King Tut exhibit was one of the coolest things I've done ever and the artifacts blew me Away. I highly recommend locals and those traveling check this place out. Planetarium comes with admission! I believe adult tickets were $25 at the time so definitely reasonably priced for all the magic you're getting. 3 floors of science and exploration? I will be for sure coming back with my daughter.

So much to look at! You can easily spend a few hours here.
If you go on a Saturday try to get there right as they open to avoid it being crowded the entire time you’re there. They have a great kid space upstairs that is spacious and they have a nice water area.

A really fun museum. We enjoyed the rat basketball a lot. The dinosaur exhibit is pretty good and so are the interactive space displays. Can't say anything about the planetarium because they cancelled the last two shows for the day. I never found out why. The small town of Progress was exceptionally enjoyable. The food at the cafeteria was surprisingly good. Very good infact. Prices did seem excessively high though

Beautiful science center and fun for kids all ages. My toddler loves the kiddie area and the dinosaurs and my other older children enjoyed the rest! Will definitely return!

Really great place for both parents and kids!! Very interesting, and they had tons of fun hands-on stuff for all ages to enjoy!!😁 The only thing that was a little disappointing was the planetarium show, which was not very entertaining for the kids and was more about Egyptian mythology about the stars than our solar system. We said that we should have skipped the planetarium show.😕

Visited COSI on 10-14-23 with three adults and five kids. The total price for the entire day, which included parking, entrance, and food, cost approximately $410.
We've been coming off and on for some odd years, and while we have always really enjoyed it as a family, it gets harder to justify the astronomical price, comparatively to other things.
Many exhibits are the same as they've been, with little to no change whatsoever, in the last decade.
The cafeteria can hardly maintain the influx outside of very early morning hours. Prices for food are extremely high (higher than amusement parks, football games, or other comparative places pricing), and this particular time, the special exhibit (Barbie) was incredibly underwhelming.
While the kids had an incredible time, and we adults too, and enjoy what COSI has to offer, as a returning and paying visitor, it's in need of a total face-lift in regards to maintenance; and just in general.
If you've never been, it is highly recommended as it's a unique and incredible place to experience. Adults and children alike can explore and be immersed into a world of science and exploration, but it has little to no return value outside of special exhibits.

My family went to enjoy the Titanic Exhibition. The place was insanely busy. Overall, the exhibition was incredible and we spent several hours exploring the rest of Cosi. Definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon with kids.
Christina Gayheart — Google review
I love this place, but I wish it had more hands on things for the younger kids to do. We went for the Marvel attraction. It was cool, but definitely for teens and adults. They did have the costumes from the movies on display. We went on a Saturday so it was very, very busy, but that was expected. My only complaint is about the rude adults that do not try to control their children, or know how to act in public themselves.
Brandie Myers — Google review
Very cool place with so much to see, for the very young to adults. Grab a map and wander around. I found myself having to stop the kids from just running up to an exhibit and touching everything and if it didn’t “do” anything, they’d run to the next thing- there is a lot of reading involved before you can do the actual activity. So, I had to call them back, read the instructions to them, then it was actually a cool thing to do. My kids were ages 8-12. They just wanted to physically do everything without really knowing what they were supposed to be learning about. So, adults, keep up and get engaged along with them so they know how to complete the activities and maybe learn something from them. The Marvel exhibit is cool, but I’m not a fan of the extra charge to see it. The outdoor courtyard stuff is fun and there’s a playground out front of the building too. There’s a cafe and gift shop. So much to do and see, could be an all day thing if you want to get your money’s worth.

My family had a blast at Cosi! Love the teacher discount and the reciprocal memberships to other museums. My oldest loved the king Tut exhibit and my youngest loved the dinosaur exhibit. The kids play area is great and the outside play ground is so fun. So much to do we never see it all in one visit. I always recommend this place to anyone coming to Columbus.

COSI is committed to recycling, protecting and preserving nature, and maximizing fun when educating kids. We have a membership and go there often (it's paid for itself on a few visits already!). There are little things about this place that can make it interesting if the big displays don't catch your attention, like the sun dial in the outdoor eating area of the café. There are a variety of farm animals and an activity tent available for their Farm Days now, so go pet some docile creatures and learn how to support local farmers.

Huge muesum with lots of exhibits to see. Spent about 3 1/2 hours just to find out I didn't get to see the ocean stuff, kinda bummed. I bought tickets for the Motion Simulator ride and it was pretty awesome. My favorite was the King Tutankhamun exhibition. Pretty amazing story and beautiful replica of his tomb. Let's not forget the planetarium. So beautiful, calm and relaxing. Durring our presentation, we got a little history about how the Egyptians used the stars and sun for many things.

One of my favorite science centers. I have been here roughly fifteen times throughout my life and each time I have enjoyed it. Three floors packed with exhibits to see and learn from. Something for every age found here, especially if visiting with littles who would benefit from the third floor kid room specific for all under first grade. This was the first trip my kids were too old to go in but we always enjoyed the time spent here at Cosi, definitely recommend a stop!

Wonderful place to spend the day. Plan for the long haul there is so much to see it’s worth return trips. So many fun activities for the kids. Spend some time in the store and grab a kit. If you’re hungry the cafe was great! The trip back in time through progress was incredible.

Cosi simply is one of the best science museums in the nation (having visited most of the popular ones around big cities) ; the building is well thought of and the space is perfect for accommodating amazing collections of science and nature exhibits. Several areas have rotating exhibits that keeps it fun.
Various events keeps us coming from dinosaurs tales, to rats basketball, construction displays with real bulldozers, to adults only night at the museum!!
The kids play area is one of the best and most comprehensive I’ve seen (at par with children museums) with well maintained and cleaned items.
Membership includes reciprocity entrance to most science museums nationwide.
Parking is easy.

What an amazing resource for the community. Such an incredible experience. There are so many interactive exhibits to spark curiosity in both the young and young at heart. Just the history behind the museum is exceptionally enriching. COSI has been on my list since the sixth-grade. Today was the day. The planetarium was awesome.😃 The glass elevator was a crowd pleaser. The energy, the ocean, & the recycling ♻️ information are definitely something we can all learn from. Take the day or more to enjoy 😉 all COSI has to offer.
Like and follow for more adventures ✨️ Travel well 😌

Wow! What an amazing science center! We were first timers from out of town and we had the best time!
It was crazy busy due to spring break, but once the initial entry rush was passed, there were only a couple exhibits that were too packed to really experience and that’s saying something since we were there for about 6 hours.
We all had fun, but the younger kids were kinda done before our oldest, so I’d recommend more for ages 6+, although they do have a little-kid only space. Our littles just didn’t want to spend that much time there.
Highly recommend the Electricity Show and Rat Basketball! Other favorite exhibits included the Gadgets and Dinosaurs.

The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens offers a diverse array of exhibits, gardens, and social events inside or outdoors. The 88-acre botanical landmark has an impressive plant collection, seasonal art displays, and nature-based exhibitions. It is located east of downtown Columbus.
Awesome experience. Butterflies were active and awesome to look at and every room I went into felt refreshing! There were also massive and amazing glass pieces that were shown all throughout the conservatory that was so fun to look at. Great place to stop by and look at beautiful plants and feel the positive energy. The facility was very clean and easy to walk through. Staff was incredibly kind as well :). This is truly a Columbus gem! There is so much packed into this building, but by following the free, numbered map they provide at check-in, you should be able to see everything and experience each room or “climate” within two hours. They have such a great diversity of plants and flowers! This is a kid-friendly place, just be respectful of those who are there without kids looking to have a quieter experience. There is a small section along the self-guided tour where parents can stop and rest while kids play around with the kid-friendly, touchable exhibit. There are also plenty of places to sit throughout the entire building. The staff is very friendly and kind, especially in the gift shop. This place is so beautiful that I wish I could’ve been married here! My husband and I visited on the weekday (on a Wednesday specifically) so it was quieter and we didn’t have a wait. I do recommend buying your tickets online in advance. And if you have a Dawes Arboretum membership, you might get a small discount on tickets! That’s not guaranteed, so be sure to check before buying.

This is the place to go if you want to walk around in the winter but stay warm while feeling like you are getting out. The blend of inside with outdoor features is amazing. You can always check out their website for updates, projects and events going on in there. I'd recommend buying an annual membership. It pays for itself in a few visits. I'd recommend you go at a minimum once a season. There's something big each season plus lots of events throughout the year. Summer, you have the whole train feature going on outside which is huge by the way. Winter, they have the Christmas lights everywhere. Night time they light up the glass features year round but they change them out through the seasons. Daytime, you have the children's park summer has the outdoor water areas I'm the kids playground. Inside there is the butterfly exhibit, There are several temperate zones, glass displays, tons of amazing photo opportunities everywhere. Go to the website and just scroll.

We had some time to burn before an event so we decided to check out this place. I did not expect to stay there for an hour and a half! There were so many gorgeous plants/trees. My favorite things were the bonsai trees and the railway outside with various carved wooden houses. Each area had a theme like animal, fairy tale, European, and wild west and the craftsmanship was phenomenal. The glass work throughout was a nice added touch as well.

Lovely place for an afternoon walk and a chance to enjoy nature. The topiary section is really well done and although the bonsai section is a bit small, the trees are very well maintained. The miniature train exhibit that is currently hosted at the gardens is really worth ehile seeing. Very well done.

This place is beautiful. We had to plan our first visit well because the first time we tried to go here, it was on the first Sunday of the month when it's free for county residents. We highly recommend not going then because you won't find a parking spot and it's stupid crowded. Instead, we went the day before and we nearly had the place to ourselves. The building has lots of history and we found out the fiddle leaf fig they have here is at least 100 years old and the largest fiddle leaf fig indoors in the United States. I would like to go back for other events and even though we don't live in Columbus, I would consider getting a pass here. They have a lot for little kids and our daughter (2) loved it.

Gorgeous!!!!! If you're a Columbus resident, you can get free tickets through the library! Otherwise, I think the entrance fee is well worth it. At this time of year the perennials are mostly dead, but the plants inside are thriving. Beautiful bonsai exhibit and really fun train exhibit when we went. Strongly recommend.

My husband and I visited the conservatory as our anniversary date. It was a really great experience and everything is absolutely beautiful. It's worth the 3 hour drive. A gorgeous preservation of natures beauty as well as a setting full of unique and breathtaking glass sculptures. I made a visit with a friend of mine and neither of us knew what to expect, but the staff was kind and helpful, and the map made it easy to guide ourselves around the different sections of garden/exhibit.
This is a great spot to bring kids, as they have a ton of outdoor space and activities for families. The exhibits were clean and impressive, though a bit crowded.
The butterfly event blew me away. Being in a room surrounded by so many gorgeous butterflies was magical.
They have clean restrooms, a nursing room, an eatery, a gift shop, and i believe they even offer glassblowing courses on certain days.
I will be back again for sure! I was very impressed by my visit.

Very nice conservatory. Lots of plants and flowers. There is a gift shop and dining area. The butterfly area is really nice and we loved seeing all the different butterflies. The outside area is one of my kids favorites with a wonderful play space (especially when the weather is warmer and the kids can play in the water-bring a change of clothes). I recommend going in spring or summer if you want to be outdoors and see a lot of the flowers in bloom. Elevators are available to navigate between floors for those that may need them.

What an excellent place to appreciate flowers, plants, bonsai, topiary displays, Chihuly glass art, and a children's garden. The conservatory was set up and organized very well. My group and I thoroughly enjoyed walking through and seeing all the beautiful displays. They have a gift shop. There was a live band playing while we were there, which was a nice touch. The parking was free, but the admission fee was a little steep for seniors. They had clean, accessible bathrooms. They also had wheelchairs for those who couldn't do the walking. I am glad I visited this conservatory, and I recommend you visit here as well. Definitely deserves the 5 star rating I give it!!

Love it every time! My kids love it, too. The children's gardens are awesome. We also love all the indoor spaces and the outdoor trains. We come several times per year. And it's especially cool during Pumpkins Aglow in the Fall and Conservatory Aglow at Christmas time.

We went here for pumpkins aglow. It was a family friendly Halloween event. (Although the gentleman directing parking had some colorful language to describe a free for all parking situation...it was very busy for a week night apparently) The map provided was of the Conservatory; not of the event, and it was really too dark to read outside anyways. The pumpkins were all displayed really well and themed. There were some unused spaces that might have been good for treat stations. We went on a week night and found some of the entertainment only available on the weekend. I do wish that had been reflected in the price we paid for tickets. The food truck area did not have enough seating on a weeknight, the bar also ran out of coctail mix by 7:15pm. We had fun, and will likely return but would like to spend the day.

What a great place! This is the largest collection of Chihuly sculptures outside of his own museum in Seattle. Such a delight to see his art in concert with the gorgeous plants and flowers 🌺 (I attached a map of his art pieces around the gardens). Most of the best parts are inside so even if the weather is not great, still an awesome visit! Also a full children’s play area on the lower level. Plus a cafe and nice gift shop - you’ll enjoy! 🌈

This place is great for plant lovers and families. They separate the plants based on their climates, which you can feel as you walk through and take in all of the foliage. Between all of the rooms, the hallways are lined with various plants, different every season. In some places it is not clear what direction the walkways go and you might walk through the same area twice. Every season there are also different exhibits, so every visit here may not be the same. They also have a seasonal butterfly blooming exhibit where you can walk through a mist of butterflies. If you want small plants or memorabilia of your own, there is a gift shop near the entrance as well as a cafe. This is a great place to visit during a weekend.

We had a lot of fun walking through the different biomes! The Himalayas, rain forest, and dessert! So many unique plants and butterflies! The metamorphosis area (where the butterflies hatch) is also beautiful!!

I recently visited the Columbus Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and it was a delightful experience, despite some areas being closed. The beauty of the place is undeniable, with bee hives buzzing for pollination amidst the few blooms of the season. What added to the charm was the colorful array of visitors, wearing vibrant Indian and African attire, which, humorously, added more color to the scenery than the flowers themselves. Capturing 90 images around the park, I found it to be a peaceful retreat, rich in diversity and life. A truly fun and picturesque day out!

We went to Aglow and have made it an annual event. We love going and it’s refreshing to be outside and refreshments / popcorn on site. Inside is spectacular and the fish are truly stunning. The gift shop is adorable - parking and tickets all went smooth and customer service was good. Five stars from this girl.

Such a cool place! Lots for kids and families today, awesome inspiration for flowers or trees in your landscaping or just to appreciate.
Butterfly exhibit was incredible, they’re almost flying right on top of you! Huge bright butterflies everywhere. Kids loved that part, but make sure you dress down as it’s very hot and humid in there.

Beautiful place, gorgeous tickets in advance just in case. Our time was for 1pm, but we arrived pretty early, and it wasn't a problem at all!
Great place for a couples outing or to take the kids as they have a dedicated area.

Beautiful, even on a rainy day! Was in town visiting family and came here to visit with them. Of course it was a rainy mess that day so I did not get to enjoy all that the Conservatory and Gardens had to offer. However, what I did see what fantastic.
Ticket prices for an adult was something like $23 or $26 which is a little steep for a rainy day because you can't enjoy everything. However, the butterflies were amazing, staff was friendly, and what I did see of the grounds were so beautiful. Will definitely be returning on my next visit to Ohio (with hopefully better weather).
Polaris Fashion Place is a large shopping mall in central Ohio that has a variety of premier stores. It has an outdoor lifestyle center, as well as an expanded Forever XXI store. The mall also has a Barnes and Noble for book lovers.
This mall has done a major revamp in the past few years. Indoor malls were on their way out but not this one. It is full of unique and amazing stores mixed with the old favorites. FYE and Boxed Lunch are hits for any nerdy family members or fans of Disney. Also loved the Boho clothing stores, there are several and they are beautiful. Went on a Saturday so it was packed but a weekday might just be the perfect day for shopping and entertainment.

This is the most incredible mall I have ever been in. If you can't find it here, you don't need it.
I like the way the mall is inside and surrounded by all kinds of shops outside.
If the weather is nice you can go between the mall and all the other retail stores located around the mall.
Plan on spending the day between the movie theater, Funny Bonez, all the delicious restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Quaker Steak and Lube, Five Guys, Mimi Cafe and all the other chain stores both inside and out.
It's amazing! Enjoy yourself and don't rush

Nice mall- consistently clean and welcoming, despite the changing environment.
Sadly, some recent shootings and criminal activity have deterred families and others from frequenting.
They could use better and more present security.
I visited the other day for the first time in 5 years. Not nearly the crowds as prior to the Covid pandemic.

Supernice place - trust me it'll take almost half of your day to wander around. Many shops, food court and many more. A must to visit mall even for a walk and socializing.

A fantastic mall that is easy to explore, clean, and with plenty of different types of shops for everyone! I enjoyed FYE (nerdy stuff), The Spice Tea and Exchange (great teas as well as variety of spices, sugars, salts, and more), and bubble tea from Bubbles The Tea and Juice Company.

Nice mall. Great selection of stores. Good parking. Food court is okay.
Lacks bathrooms and sitting area and benches.
Good traffic, not super busy. Clean and welcoming environment.

Still a great place to shop. A good bit of the stores have changed over the years but still a neat place to visit. Very clean and well managed. Always enjoy shopping at Polaris.

Overall there are A LOT of shops to choose from so we definitely found what we were looking for. The oversized kiosks in the middle made the mall corridors feel a bit narrow. It makes for a family of 6 with a large stroller a bit challenging to maneuver around. We ate at the food court upstairs which did not have much seating available at the time. With the long lines stretching into the walkway, it made for a chaotic search for food and a place to find a seat.

Update 8/4/23: Why is the mall closing at 8:00pm on a Saturday?? Ridiculous. Can y’all at least be open until 9:00pm on Friday and Saturday. Sheesh.
2 weeks prior: This mall and Easton are the 2 best malls in the Columbus, OH metro area.

Decent indoor shopping mall with major retailers like Macy’s, JCPenney, Saks, Apple, Dick’s Sports, and others. There is a volleyball training place (?) as well. They have a nice food court with a good variety of food options (Popeye’s chicken coming soon). The mall has a very relaxed vibe which I enjoy. Plenty of parking spaces.

Great mall, I was a tad scared alone I felt like people were following me and I would sneak in places. I would not recommend walking solo in this mall. I kept in groups of people and left. Also no maps to find store's if I was looking for something. I was planning to shop during my work trip but did not feel safe alone, so I left.

Awesome sights and a really cool cave. I must warn you, for those who don't do much trail walking, the trip back up can be a tough one. Bring your best walking shoes and a camera. I would highly recommend the visit

Rock House is always a great experience. Fun and great for pictures. Today the bottom bridge was closed - that usually makes it a loop. So it was only an out-and-back. I wore shoe spikes and they definitely helped! Bathrooms at the parking lots.

Beautiful hike at Rock House! Lots of history to learn for the kiddos. A little too crowded for my taste even on a rainy weekday but still loved the amazing scenery. Well worth the visit!
Crystal Hamburg — Google review
We enjoyed the hike. Glad there was steps made to make the trail easier. Rock house is very nice. You might want to bring a light if you want to see details while walking inside the Rock House.
Anne Klonowski — Google review
While Rock House is a bit more out of the way from the other sights in Hocking Hills State Park, I think it's worth your time. The trail is not very long (plan for half an hour) and consists of a decline into gorge, the Rock House itself, and an incline out of the gorge. Even though it's not called a cave, it really is one and in fact the only true cave in the park since the others are termed recess caves.
Nick Gavio — Google review
I looked on some websites for some of easier trails in the Hocking Hills area, and this one came up. It's supposed to be only a 1/4 mile. Let me warn you that this trail is the opposite of easy. It starts off fine, but then you get to some very steep steps going down. There are very few things to hold on to, and the edge of the cliff is very close to the trail. I had second thoughts getting through this area. The views and sights at the cave are beautiful but it is hard to get there if you are not fit. The walking bridge has collapsed at the bottom, and the detour is a slippery walk over wet logs in the creek. Coming out of the gorge is much better than going down, but it is uphill and thankfully short. The cave is beautiful but beware it is not an easy hike down.
David Snyder — Google review
This was a nice loop trail. There was one spot a little wet and the bridge was not useable but other wise it was a great little hike. Parts of the trail maybe out for dogs but i strongly suggest not taking them if you want go inside the “house”. There are many other places that are much better suited for dogs close by.
K. C. — Google review
Very cool place to see. Really muddy hike down and up....slippery. You need good shoes and maybe a walking stick. Trail is really close to the cliff edge coming down from the cave so maybe not the best hike if you have a fear of heights.
Joyce Gindlesperger — Google review
Wow great trail. Lots of up and down stairs and paths. Inside the cave is amazing. Most people could do this track. I saw people of all ages. The ground is extremely uneven so you have to watch where you're stepping. The whole thing is under a mile.
Shon Lang — Google review
Such a cool place! The trail is super short (it makes up for it in steep hills) so it is a nice quick stop. We went at 9:30am on a Sunday in the summer and there were maybe 4 other families on the trail as well, we have heard this one gets really busy during the day. It is super scenic on the way there with rock formations, and then a steep walk back up (not bad though). It is about a half mile and we went there and back in about a half hour, with exploring the cave a bit.
Madeline Spruill Cononge — Google review
Absolutely love this place, been coming here for years. They recently built a new detour bridge at the base of the cliff instead of the old stone Bridge.
This is not an appropriate hike for younger kids, as there are a lot of areas with drop offs and lots of stone steps, climbing.
Maelstrom Eyre — Google review

Great hike! Only do this if you are in shape because it is alot of work compared to Ash cave or old mans cave 😂
Great for dogs and honestly my favorite cave yet!
Spooky trip: In the 1800s, Rockhouse Hotel was located where the shelter house is now. The spirit of a young woman named Mary who was found dead in her room roams the area.

Excellent place to go explore! Some steep steps but not bad. Gorgeous scenery and loved exploring inside the cave. Watch your steps inside. Depending on the time of day you go, you may need some kind of light to see where to step. Overall a great experience!

Amazing! So beautiful but not the easiest trail so be aware before starting this hike. Some slippery rocks that could send you tumbling. Just watch your step and enjoy the beautiful scenery
Enormous natural cavern with a waterfall surrounded by woodlands with hiking trails.
We put this on our "Might as well, it's only a little bit out of the way" list of places to visit in the way back from our Florida road trip -- and Wow, was I glad we did!
It's a Gorgeous place to go; our family enjoyed it even off-season in March. Beautiful waterfall and stream/river. Huuuge cliff/sorta-cave (doesn't wind and twist and turn and go deep into the earth like you might envision when you think of a cave; it's more of a Gigantic scenic overhang of rock - but Beautiful!).
Plenty of different places and angles to take awesome pictures with your loved ones. Very close to another trail/attraction just up the road, in the same state park.
Check it out - your family will thank you!

We have visited Ash Cave many times over the years and it always is beautiful no matter the time of the year. This is one of our favorite easy hikes in the Hocking Hills area. We like that the bottom path almost all the way back to the waterfall is paved and quite level. This makes it easily accessible for motorized scooters, wheelchairs and strollers. The park currently still has the one-way trail sign up however if you have mobility restrictions you can go out the same way you came back in. Otherwise the trail leads you up the stairs behind the waterfall and down the side of the hill. That complete hike gives you such a variety of scenery! Tip: when you get to the top of the stairs there’s a sign that says it’s a 2 mile hike to Cedar Falls. We have actually taken this hike it’s 4 miles round-trip and well worth it. But if you’re not up for that big of a hike still take a left and walk just a little tiny bit and you’ll be able to see the water before it flows over into the waterfall area.

Beautiful, easy walk to the cave. With a very worth it view. Would highly recommend and will return. If you take the ridge back, it isn't a medium hike. It just has a lot of stairs. The restrooms hlleave a lot to be desired. They are currently upgrading the parking area, so it may be on the docket.
Kris Clark — Google review
This trail is great for kids five and younger. It is a short, shaded, flat concrete paved trail. There was a water fountain at the entrance. The tail loops around half is paved so if you have a wheelchair or stroller you can get to the destination and turn around and go back the way you came. After the falls you have the option to climb stairs and loop back to the entrance on a natural surface trail.
Solana Maschinot — Google review
I loved this hike! It was very easy to get to and if you park at the closest parking lot the entire path there is paved so it is very accessible. If you want a more challenging hike you can reach Ash Cave from Cedar Falls if you go along the way there is an old fire watch tower you can climb for some great views!
Colton Rainwater — Google review
Ash Cave is such a beautiful place! It was so amazing being there with ice and snow on everything. We took our daughters and puppies with us and they all had a great time.
Jonathon Wymer — Google review
Such a beautiful hike. I can see why it's one of the top sights in Hocking hills. Very accessible for strollers or those needing an easier walking trail. There's a paved path to the waterfall then the option to take that path back if you cannot take the more advanced path back (steep stairs and a trek in the woods).
I had a double stroller and one in our party has a cane and we thought it was a very nice time
Lindsay Case — Google review
Absolutely incredible place! Must visit if you’re in the area. Nice partially paved trails too the first half of the hike is almost handicapped accessible. Very easy hike. Just wish people would keep their reactive dogs and cigarettes at home… otherwise amazing natural wonder.
Nathan Gray — Google review
Ash Cave was my absolute favorite place that we visited during our time in Hocking Hills. One of the things that sets it apart from the other caves is its sheer size. It's absolutely massive and looks so cool with how it wraps around. And, just like some of the other caves, it has a small seasonal waterfall which just makes it that much more picture perfect. This is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. If you're in Hocking Hills, you should definitely stop here.
Nick Gavio — Google review
Ash Cave was really cool. Arriving to Ash Cave, there are parking on both sides of the road but the one across the street has plenty of parking. Trails are easily accessible by all ages. Going into the cave the trails are almost paved but leaving the cave, you have to climb a little. But once in, the views and waterfall was amazing! The photos does do justice.
Huan Le — Google review
Ash Cave in Hocking Hills is a beautiful site! Open cave with a tall but low volume waterfall. Wheelchair accessible to a certain point along the gorge trail, less than a mile. Upper trail requires stairs. Parking is now across the road; large lot with wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Another busy point of interest in the area, may be crowded during warmer months.

I have done a lot of traveling and exploring. This is one of the more beautiful places I have been to. The winter features definitely enhance the experience. Wow!
Ric Ravier — Google review
The is one of the easiest hikes in Hocking Hills, but it is very beautiful and memorable. Quite a bit of the trail is handicap accessible. The cave is huge and beautiful, especially if there's been enough rain for the little waterfall to be active. There is a lot of history here too, from native American camps to pioneers giving sermons and manufacturing gunpowder. The Buckeye Trail, Grandma Gatewood Trail, North Country Trail, and American Discovery Trail all overlap and pass through here as well.
Michael — Google review
Beautiful walk (not a hike) that is 1.2 miles round trip. Definitely worth the wait and effort.
The acoustics near and around the cave are really interesting. Overall, a majestic feeling and experience. Kid- and dog-friendly, but keep them tethered.
Brett Hoover — Google review
A gorgeous nature outing that most individuals are capable of experiencing due to the relatively flat (in and also out) entrance. Was able to visit on a sunny, 60 degree or so day weekday around 4 pm—this was optimal time & weather for us since there was less of a crowd (still ample parking when arrived) and the air temperature was refreshing. I will say, the views & scenery are breathtaking! The dirt path to the cave has a small incline and some benches scattered throughout. Once you get to the cave you can either walk back out the same way, or go up a steep set of wooden steps (see picture). We opted to exit via the steps and go right towards the exit, which has a steady decline. You can go left after the stairs and hike a trail that continues. I would think you can bring your dog(s) for the hike—I didn’t notice signs saying you couldn’t. It’s a scenic site to visit, but I’d recommend going during an off peak time. I really enjoyed not being surround by a bunch of other visitors—it made the experience that much more great. Also, there are restrooms towards the beginning of the entrance.
Natalie D’Mello — Google review
Ash Cave is much smaller than Old Mans cave, but more majestical (and easier to access). The cave is a short 3 - 5 minute walk from the parking area and flat with little grade. When you arrive at the cave from the lower entrance it is an amazing site. You can hear voices echo from within and around. If you wonder within the cave you will see a simple water fall pending the stream above is flowing. Take some time and enjoy the massive size and views from within the cave. Feel the temperature of the walls, and sand at your feet. Relax and look out over the forest in front of you, find the birds and chipmunks as the gather their meals. If you feel up for the challenge, high up to the top and take the slow trail back to the parking lot.

Very beautiful, handicap accessible trail and a harder trail as well. Beautiful scenery. We loved it. Very friendly people all around aswell
Spooky trip:
Ash Cave at Hocking Hills State Park -A ghostly lady walks the trail at Ash Cave dressed in the clothing of the 1920s and 1930sThere is also a tale of two pioneer children who fell to their deaths at the cave while being pursued by Indians. While this incident has never been confirmed, some visitors claim the boy’s screams can still be heard to this day.

Ash cave is beautiful! Me and my fiancé had a wonderful weekend and stayed in the cabins of hocking hills and of course we had to come see what beautiful ash cave has to offer! This is definitely worth coming to see and is a main attraction in the area. There is something so breathtaking about these magnificently tall cave walls that surround you as you walk the trail. I absolutely enjoyed it and can’t wait to bring the whole family to come see it next time.
I visited Cedar Falls and Whispering Falls after heavy rains the last day and a half. I started at Cedar Falls and took the Gorge Trail for about a mile and a half and came back to Cedar Falls. Aside from some mud, the trail wasn't too bad. I've always visited Hocking Hills State Park on non rainy days. It's beautiful anytime but seeing the falls and the swiftness of the creek with a much higher volume of water just added to the beauty of this incredible state park.

Awesome place to walk, hike, and relax. Peaceful and surprisingly clean. Not too busy compared to Old Man’s Cave which you can get to from here but its over 3 miles hike.
Trails are easy. My 4, 8, & 11 yr old had no problem climbing and walking down the trials.
Water fall is awesome. Cool and clear water.
Overall experience was very enjoyable.

Visited on a Friday about 1030a. The parking lot was only about half full, it was getting busy but not yet crowded. The falls are only roughly a half mile from the parking lot. There's stairs and narrow rocky path to walk through to the falls so be careful if you're not too steady. Right before the main parking lot there's a drive off with like 8 spots and that's actually at the top of the falls and you can go down around some wood stairs to it as well to avoid the rocky path part.

Beautiful little hike, best after a hard summer rain, when it's not too cold to get your feet wet - spring is also beautiful, just a bit more chilly. The "Hidden Falls" are also beautiful during or after a good rain, small curtain back to the right off the trail, have included 2 pictures of Cedar falls - one with more water is during spring right after a good rainfall, other is in august when it's been dry for a while,

Gotta appreciate the beauty of the Hocking Hills. Cedar falls is usually the biggest and baddest waterfall in the area. Unfortunately on the October day I stopped, it was barely flowing at all due to lack of rain obviously. Not a bad trek to get to. About a 15 minute round trip from parking lot to falls area.

Beautiful water fall. Sign for parking lot could be better. Lots of stairs. I'm not the most fit, but was able to make it down and back ok. A walking stick would have been helpful. Didn't see any toilets nearby, so find a restroom first.

Breathtakingly beautiful! A little hard on the knees (age related) but totally worth it. Pictures just don't due it justice, the place needs to be felt and appreciated by all the senses.
Edwin Beltran — Google review
This trail started off ok. It started off with steps downhill, and there are a lot of small rocks all over the steps. Be careful if you have stability concerns. The first water area had a dry up waterfall... no waterfall. There are a lot of rocks by and in the water. The trail goes by some beautiful huge rocks, boulders on both sides then eventually another waterfall. This one is pretty, shaped like a flower. This is where most people hung out with their kids and dogs. Then the trail continues and it got real narrow between huge boulders, my favorite part of the trail. Eventually, there are steps back up to the parking area. Once exited the trail, you will be at the beginning of the parking area. If you parked by the restrooms at the end of the parking area before circling around to the upper parking area, you will need to turn right for a short walk back to your car.
Tilly Lo — Google review
This is a well maintained trail with reasonably easy access to the falls. I only say reasonably because the first hill down to the bottom has a few stairs with odd spacing thar could be difficult for some people. The falls are very accessible when you arrive with the opportunity for some very nice pictures. Best advice would be to see the falls after it has rained as it seems to run a bit more then. There are restrooms available at the beginning of the trail with parking close by.

I recently visited the Cedar Falls in Logan, OH and it was a sight to see. The Cedar Falls trail is the smallest of the other trails located within Hocking Hills state park and perhaps the most impactful because of the interactive water fall that awaits its guests. There is a small lake to where the falls unite both the water element and human. You may get your feet wet or your entire body. Truly a magical place. Our four-legged friends are welcome. Parking is kind of tight. Nice wooden bridge like stairs called the Democracy Steps that leads to the exit. Great scenery!

It is a great easy trail to have a slow, leisurely hike enjoying nature. There are plenty of rock formations to see throughout the gorge and the occasional wildlife. This is one of the easier hikes in the park for those who have some difficulty in getting around or just want a leisurely stroll.

Cedar falls is a very short trail to see the beautiful rock walls and water fountain! This is definitely a beautiful site to see and a main attraction of Logan ohio. Cedar falls, ash cave, and old man’s cave bring tourists from all over to see the beautiful sights of Mother Nature at its finest. We had so much fun and definitely can’t wait to come back again.
Kelsie Bryant — Google review
Cedar Falls is the largest waterfall in the Hocking Hills and well worth a visit. The path that leads from the parking lot to the falls is fairly short. You should plan for about half an hour there if that's all you plan to do. However, the path does connect to the others in the park, such as Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave. Those would be a much longer hike, and do have their own respective parking lots if you're not interested in hiking those distances.

The gem of the city. Terrific playground. Plenty of picnic tables and room for making your own picnic spot. Sometimes parking spots are hard to find. Go around and wait or park by shelter house and walk. Usually easy for your kids to find other kids to play with. And usually friendly parents are there to talk to. Remember pick up your trash and use the trash cans. The parks do a great job and we have our part to do as well.

I went to the fair Sunday. I planned to park at Rising Park, like I do every other time I've gone and as half of the people at the fairgrounds were already parked. It's hard to see in the picture the grassy area is marked off and there are a ton of cars. Plus there are several open spots so it wasn't full at all. And yes I see the barricade as well as the "Park Closed" sign. Since there were so many cars parked there and because I've always parked there, I thought the sign meant the Park, as in playground, tennis courts, shelters, Mountain etc etc etc were closed, presumably for safety reasons with so many cars coming and going. Well here's where I find out just how stupid I am. As I pulled in, the man in the yellow vest (there were several other workers in reflective vests, presumably parking cars) started shouting at me. I would say screaming but I don't want to be over dramatic. STOP!!! Don't you see that sign? What do you think that means? The parks closed now back it up!! I was trying to answer his questions but he just kept on shouting. If you were 1 of the people walking by our waiting to exit/enter(like me) I'm sure you heard him. Half the fairgrounds probably heard him! He could've handled it so differently, he didn't know exactly why I was there. Maybe I pulled in to ask exactly what the sign meant. Maybe I was dropping lunch off to 1 of my relatives that also works there. Maybe my grandma was clear back as far as the Park goes with a flat tire and I was there to help her. My point is he didn't even know why I was there, even tho I was there for the fair, he just immediately started shouting at me! I haven't had anyone yell at me like that since I was a teenager! It was just a crummy way to start out our day at the fair. And it didn't have to be like that!

This is such a great place for families. There’s plenty to do with tennis courts fishing, a play ground and walking paths. The path to the nice lookout is short, but is a little steep in places. It unfortunately would not likely accommodate wheel chairs. The views are fantastic, I’m sure the town is even more glorious when the Fall colors come in.

When there is snow, multiple sledding options of increased speed and difficulty. In the warmer months, nice playgrounds, pleasant pond to walk around. It actually was cold enough in January of 2024 that they allowed sakting. Fishing is supposed to be catchband release and restricted to kids, but I'm not sure how much that age limit is enforced. Nice trail to the top of Mt. Pleasant with a nice view of the Fairgrounds. They redid some of the tennis courts to pickleball if you are into that. Several shelter houses are available for rent. Bathrooms in warm weather are park bathrooms.

Parking was great and easy to find after the concert. Traffic flow was good. Not very long at all. Very much enjoyed it. Great seats everywhere. No matter where you sat.

This is always a great place to take the family. Aside from a great hike to the top, there is also several ponds, tennis courts, and a very extensive park. There is plenty of parking and many areas to cookout or picnic. This location is also pet friendly. Overall this is a great pick for a free family outing.

Very relaxing. The first 10-minute walk uphill but so worth it.
Miles of trails weave through the scenic grounds of this longtime arboretum with a historic home.
This is such an amazing green pocket outside of Columbus! There are many wonderful plants and flowers to gaze at. Some trails are quite short and easy to walk, but there are a few tracks that are over a mile if that is what you are looking for. There is plenty of comfortable seating, so you can take a break and look at the gorgeous landscape or the bubbling fountain in the pond. I would definitely recommend this place for families due to the easy trails dedicated for kids. Overall, a wonderful place. I hope to return again.

My son treated me to an afternoon visit to the Aboretum, and I was very happy to see it again, since I hadn't visit since I was in high school in the early 80's. Dawes is, I'm very glad to say, every bit as beautiful now as it was then. It wasn't overcrowded, and the people that were enjoying the park along with us were very kind in helping to find certain areas. The gift shop was nice and clean, the staff nice to talk with, and the whole afternoon was just amazing. One thing I would suggest is a pond algae cleaner added to the pond in the Japanese garden.

Yesterday my wife and I decided to go check the trails at Dawes Arboretum. Can't believe it's the middle of December and we can still go for a bike ride. Lots of paved trails and dirt as well. The only place off limits to bikes is the Japanese Garden. We enjoyed it so much we decided to roll our admission into a couples membership for next year. A very restful place even in the off time of year.

The Dawes Arboretum is a cool place to wander around. They have lots of trails and nature to enjoy. The Dawes family home tour is worth the time and the investment. Make sure you climb the observation tower. It is awesome.

Worth every penny for the day ($10) or year ($40). I recently visited for the first time during the Avian Aviators exhibit. All the staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The abundance of plant species was impressive. This place is a true gem. I will absolutely be back.

Dawes Arboretum is a beautiful and well maintained garden broken up into serval distinct areas connected not only by well maintained walking paths, but also by a driving tour. It is a beautiful place to enjoy some peace and quiet. It was not crowded - even on a lovely Saturday morning.

Gorgeous place! Even this early in Spring there was a lot to see. I ended up buying a pass and plan on going back numerous times. You can take the whole day and walk through everything or you can drive your car through a lot of it however if you do the latter you will miss out on a lot.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and lots of interesting things to see. Easily walkable and lots to see and do. Saw lots of people with their dogs which is nice that they allow dogs as most parks like this don't. The visitor center has a really fun area for kids downstairs. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. I really recommend hiking as much as you can to see things up close on foot, then doing the auto tour in your car. Also there are small parking spots along the auto tour drive to stop and see things along the way.

A prominent gem of Licking County, the Dawes Arboretum is world renowned. Once you've gone once you will want to go back, so save yourself some money and buy the membership option to take full advantage of Ohio's changing seasons. In the spring, blooming flowers and bird song will delight the senses with a renewed sense of purpose after a long winter. Summer brings with it shaded pathways, a welcome retreat as you run the paved paths. Fall is my personal favorite with the crescendoing rustle of changing leaves on a brisk autumn day surrounded by vivid color. Even winter has something to do with the Winter Wonder Walks event.
The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. There are classes you can take advantage of as well that will help increase your knowledge of nature and the local ecosystem.
All in all, a wonderful place to visit with the family, solo or on a date and I can't wait to return.

I have been going to Dawes for about 15 years now. It is amazing I love how clean it is & very dog friendly. We are members & visit about once a week. Lots of things for children to do as well & they have a lot of fun events here.

Extremely dog friendly starting at the gate with treats, throughout all trails and including inside the gift shop!!
Every person working was extremely friendly and helpful at the gate, Haley answering the phone and again inside the gift shop and both ladies from the Licking County Master Gardeners at their pop up display!
I had not been to Dawes in 7 or 8 years and a LOT has gotten even better!! There is a driving tour and there are MANY trails!!
The native Ohio plants area behind the visitors center is amazing. The bees and butterflies were in full force bc of the plant choices mapped out for the area!!
Many of these plants are available for purchase if you go through the gift shop for $10 each. I believe the bonsi trees were available for purchase but not $10.
The natural play area for kids is amazing with the living bamboo tunnels and rooms and it's in the shade, so that's a bonus. There's a Little Library there, too.
The woodland bird and owl sculptures are huge!! The view from the bench inside the owl is unexpectedly wonderful!
Many areas are wheelchair or stroller friendly but not all. There is a wheelchair friendly portapot in the parking lot to the left which also helps when you need to take your young children or your dog inside with you.
The letter hedges, observation tower, pioneer cemetery and Japanese gardens are all as wonderful as always.
There is a tunnel that goes under the highway from close to the cemetery that goes to another meadow type area. Be sure to take a paper map with you as the map at the kiosk is faded.
Twice the heavenly scent of pine added to the enjoyment of Dawes today. One of these locations was in the Japanese gardens.
Suggestion: drive the entire property once you have paid at the gate. You will see which areas have their own parking and you can visit 2 or 3 areas from one parking spot. There is parking at the gift shop and visitors center, at the Japanese Gardens, at the Observation Tower, across from the cemetery and several other places. Many are now shaded. There is a drinking fountain at the Visitors Center.
This place is bigger than many realize. Be sure you know where you are or don't venture too far if you aren't sure. I picked up two ladies and their dog and drove them back to their car today. They were overheated, very far away from their car and confused, as well. You can always call their phone number as the gift shop person answers. I did witness another situation today where it was nice to see that they take security seriously and security personnel come quickly.
Bravo to all who continue to keep Dawes in such amazing shape and for the continuous improvement! I especially thank the board for allowing dogs!! So many people and so many kids and dogs (and Buckeye Lake cyclists) were there today!!!

This place is gorgeous and expansive! We spent hours walking around one Saturday and will still have to come back. Personally, I felt the $10 per person entrance fee was worth it because it really is a place you can explore all day. It's also dog friendly, and you can bring your own snacks/food/beverages. Also, the arboretum even has tours, classes, and events year round, so check it out!
The ride was great! I went on the steam train. I sat in the air condition car at first, but it was not very cool. When we got out, I moved to the open car. This was wonderful! Was able to stand or sit & stayed cool while moving. Highly recommend it. The staff was nice!

We visited the railway to do a BBQ & Brew dinner on the train in late January. It was a very unique experience!
If you’re planning on doing an evening train ride in the winter, you’re not going to see anything scenic. The dinner was fantastic though. We ate a very good three course BBQ dinner that came out very quickly and washed it down with some provided domestic beer. Service was awesome, if you’re planning a dinner ride, remember to bring cash to tip!
After dinner it was a little long until we got back to the station and we were a bit cold. The winter ride wasn’t for me!

I went on the Santa train December 9, 2023. I agree with some that it wasn't very "scenic" but part of that is due to the trees being bare this time of year. Even if the trees were covered, however, it wouldn't be scenic in my view.
The train goes straight for one hour then goes "backwards" to return to the station.
The parking lot, such as it is, is gravel which could be difficult for wheelchairs or walkers.
In the car I sat in, there was very little leg room. I am 5 feet 6 inches. My sister is 5 feet 4 inches. We could not sit directly across from each other because our knees hit. The benches were not very wide either so two larger adults would not be able to sit on the same bench comfortably. The benches also had large tears in the vinyl.
As many said, the PA system is not loud. When the conductor was giving the safety instructions, the instructions could not be heard.
The majority of the cars do not have bathrooms which for a two hour ride with small children (remember this was the Santa experience) was less than ideal.
The Santa and Grinch were nice, but in order to see everyone, they moved pretty quickly. I heard the conductor on the radio say there were 410 passengers.

Good place to take a train ride. We enjoyed a 2-ish hour fall foliage trip. Prices are affordable. They have different types of train rides and holiday rides. Only complaint was they DEFINITELY need to fix or upgrade their PA system. We couldn’t hear much of anything and it was far less enjoyable not knowing what was going on.

My husband and I did the dinner train on 9/23 to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing! They did an incredible job with little room. The staff were all very nice and attentive.
As others have said if you approach this expecting fancy dining cars and breathtaking views, you'll be disappointed. These are old, original trains that run through old parts of Ohio... there's not much to look at. The food, the company of my husband and the sweet couple beside us, and the fact that you can't find train rides this close to home, all made up for it and made it worth the money.

My recent experience on the Hocking Hill Scenic Train was interesting. We opted for the fall foliage train, and the parking and onboarding process were a breeze. However, the overall experience didn't quite live up to our high expectations.
Our tour conductor, aka guide, was friendly, and the people on board were nice. The train journey goes from point A to point B, which takes about an hour, and then returns from point B to A in another hour. It's mainly a "sit and watch outside" kind of experience. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, but there was enough room for everyone.
While it's a pleasant way to enjoy the scenery, we were hoping for a bit more to do or see during the ride. If you're looking for a relaxed, scenic trip, this could be your thing. However, if you're seeking a more immersive experience, you might want to consider other options.

My husband and I enjoyed the Valentines dinner train. All the staff was very friendly, the food was delicious and the experience was fun! The salad had great flavor with the dressing, goat cheese and beets. The prime rib was juicy and full of flavor! It was a fun trip. Each couple had their own table and there were 16 couples in our car. The meal is very organized and everything was served hot. We had a great time. Thank you to all the staff and conductor it was a beautiful afternoon for a train ride.

A nice affordable long train ride. I've been on many tourist railroads, the issues I saw here was track is very rocky, train is jerky with braking and there's no reserved seating or particular ticket for open air or inside so everyone runs to the best seats and people get upset so just wish there was a little more organization.
Daniel McNutt (K8DWM) — Google review
We had a lot of fun! There was a lot of information given. I would not say that it was "scenic" as the train mostly seems to go through towns and fields but it could be considered historic with the information given during the trip. They stop at Robbins Crossing as well which is a historic area. Would not recommend for someone with sensory issues as it was a very loud ride the entire time, but it was good for kids.

I would suggest you sit on the left side of the train as it leaves Logan. The views are less likely to be obstructed by trees and undergrowth. That said, the right side of the train gives the best views of Johnny Appleseed Park, the remnants of Lock 19 from the Hocking Canal, and the town of Haydenville.
The only bridge like it in the World. Initially built in 1914 the Y shape was created to allow traffic heading East across the bridge to go either North or South as heading straight on would involve driving straight into a mountain. Aviators use this bridge for a reference point and famed pilot Amelia Earhart said it was the most recognizable city in America. This is a fifth generation bridge with the first being a trestle bridge and then a covered bridge. Before traffic lights were invented a traffic officer would be stationed in the center of the Y to direct traffic. It was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records and on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Y bridge is part of the history that Zanesville Ohio brings. It gets u to 3 different sides of town when u cross it. If u choose to go downtown if u go to 6th Street and make a left off of main street you will find our library on your left, health department on the right. But if u turn left and go to the next light and look to your right u will see our welcome center and there u can find out all the latest about what Zanesville brings to us all.

Safari-like zoo with ziplines, animal explorations by horseback, fishing & guided sunset viewing.
This experience definitely exceeded our expectations! We absolutely loved it! We pretty much came here because of the show on Disney +, Secrets of the Zoo. We were debating what tours to choose. We were going to go with the horseback riding tour but unfortunately it was getting too cold for that so we ended up doing the zipline tour (the shorter one) first in the morning, and then doing the Wildside Tour- it was so worth it! Chris was our amazing guide and he was so knowledgeable and because he had been there a long time, he knew all the animals' names and was able to get out of the truck to feed/ lure them to the truck. We fed rhinos and giraffes and got to be up close with so many of the animals. It was such a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

Super amazing place! They bring a bus to the parking lot to take you to the visitor center to check in. Tour busses are open air. Some of the animals come right up to the bus. They offer a variety of tours, you can horseback ride and also zip line. They take amazing care of the animals. You never know which animals you will see and which will come close. It's a different experience each time. The staff are super nice and informative. Midway through the tour you stop and there is a platform area to see the various carnivores through fenced enclosures and rest rooms. At the end they drop you off at a cafe and gift shop and you can wait for the next bus to bring you back to parking area. They run every 15 min it seems. They have over night lodging as well. The Wilds is a wonderful experience. The open air busses [with canopies for shade] and the great breeze at that elevation made for a lovely ride. We saw most of the species, including giraffes - our guide, Alex, was excellent at finding good vantage points & her narration was interesting and fun. The carnivore center was such a nice break in the middle of the tour- we walked around elevated board walks to see Dholes, Cheetahs & African Painted Dogs. Our host at the Carnivore Center, Harley, was also very good @ answering questions and telling us all about the animals. There was also a snack counter for drinks and munchies and restrooms - both welcome in the middle of the 2 hr tour. Learning about the conservation efforts and the history of The Wilds was a bonus [we visited over 25 yrs ago when our kids were toddlers and the progress is nice to see]. All in all, we highly recommend a visit to the Wilds - well worth the tour fee.

We had a wonderful time at the Wilds! We took the Wild Side tour, which was amazing! Feeding rhinoceroses & a giraffe by hand is a thrilling experience if you’re an animal lover, like we are.
Afterwards, we ate dinner at a special dining room reserved for guests of Nomad Ridge (those having an overnight reservation). I did not have high expectations for dinner after reading the reviews online, so I was very pleased when the quality of the food was excellent.
My husband and I had the wild mushroom pasta with cream sauce, and it was very delicious! The couple traveling with us had the steak dinners, and the asparagus and potatoes were perfectly cooked, although the steak was a little overcooked, they said. They must have a new cook because dinner was excellent. They could improve on the dessert and breakfast offerings, however.
We stayed overnight in a yurt, which was very comfortable, with fans & good AC. Near the yurts is a outdoor “lobby” with a fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and a wonderful view looking out at animals grazing near the lake below. They had nice touches like complementary hot chocolate & teas, as well as decent wine for purchase.
We enjoyed it so much we plan to come back with our teenage kids!

The open-air safari tour was great. We had the very last open-air tour this season. Our guide Victoria, was full of energy and jokes. She made sure we had a great time, and she provided details about every animal we saw. She made sure we got a good view and enough time to see the animals. The Wilds is huge. We also got to know the research and conservation effort being taken place in this facility. The best time to visit is during the middle of the season to make sure you get to see all the exhibits.

Best experience of my life. Was nearly overwhelming how much we got to see. There was a new surprise everywhere you looked. You’re able to get so close to the animals and it’s all made even better knowing it’s part of a conservation effort. Our staff guide/driver was AMAZING. She was extremely knowledgeable and just when we thought the tour was over, she heard the black rhinos were awake and we drove over to see them again. We even got to FEED them. It was an amazing surprise, I didn’t even know feeding rhinos was a thing. (Was my favorite part by far). The Wilds is an amazing organization and I’m lucky to have been able to visit.

The tour is fine. Most of animals you can find at any zoo in the US, but there was one which had China origins, and that can be cool to see especially if they walk close to the safari bus. My favourite ones were the ostrich and the rhinos because they were very friendly and approached to the bus. Our tour guide was nice, and also people working at the gift shop and the restaurant (there was just one restaurant working on a Wednesday). Just one thing, you will get full of dust during the ride!

Outstanding! We were able to feed the Rhinos and Giraffes and we got so close to many other animals. I love the Wilds- natural habitats, up close and personal, and their conservation efforts are second to none. Thank you for a great visit!

Very nice place to go individually, or with family. Many large bucks! Multiple different types of animals with variations within the species. Ian was our tour guide, very nice and knowledgeable. They have really neat cottages where you can spent the night in the wild around the animals, in a secure area of course.
Don't forget to make reservations for the tour though! They'll work with you, but it makes it easier for their plannig.

The Wilds Conservancy is nestled amidst breathtaking landscapes and offers an incredible opportunity to witness animals in a vast and natural habitat. The expansive pastures provide an awe-inspiring backdrop as the animals roam freely, thriving in their native-like environments. The knowledgeable and entertaining guides bring the experience to life, delivering informative and engaging narratives with a touch of humor. The conservation efforts and dedication to education showcased by The Wilds Conservancy are commendable. Prepare to be amazed, enlightened, and inspired at The Wilds Conservancy – an unforgettable journey into the wonders of the natural world.

It was a lot of fun. We thought we would see more animals, but the way everything is set up is great and feels very safe for the people and the animals. Bring binoculars if you can! The animals are free roaming within their areas so they are sometimes far away.

What a great experience. I was on the open bus and we got up close and personal with the animals. The food was delicious. Go see the Lodge it is so nice. It is right along the lake.

This place is a must visit. Adults and kids all enjoyed. A very unique zoo that feels like Jurassic park. Lots of close up animals, beautiful scenery, wonderful staff, and overall a great experience. We did not regret the 1.5 drive from Columbus to visit. The drive is remote but enjoyable.
I personally think it is much better than animal kingdom. Lots of different animals and just enjoyable.
They do have great facilities with bathrooms, gift shops and a cafeteria. We stopped once during our tour to stretch our legs.

I Was gifted tickets to the Open Air Safari Tour and had an amazing time! Our Tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. There were so many amazing animals out roaming around some even walked right up to the Tour bus. There was baby boom happening this season and we got to see babies animals were everywhere. Definitely coming back to go on the other tours

Had an amazing experience here with my fiancée on September 30th. Paul W was our tour guide and he was fantastic. At one point, he involved the kids on our bus by allowing them to open certain gates. There were lots of animals to see, and there were even some wild bald eagles nesting in one of the trees right on the main route. Super cool place and definitely worth visiting.

Did the winter safari which is a barn based tour. We toured 4 barns: hooved animals, Indian rhinos, African rhinos, and giraffes. We got to feed a rhino right from our hand! Like a horse! We also got to pet multiple rhinos, and we were lucky enough that there were multiple baby rhinos! The last stop was the giraffes, where we also fed and pet one of those. The tour guide was both personable and knowledgeable.

Our tour guide, Paul, gave us a very pleasant experience. He was very knowledgeable, could point out the animals by name, and answered everyone's questions. We went on a 10:30 tour and although it was chilly it was a good time because it wasn't super crowded and warmed up towards the middle of the day.
Charming stop with housebaked Amish goods, crafts, seasonal produce & a petting zoo.
This is a nice petting farm. We actually had the opportunity to watch an animal in labor and giving birth. This place is also a bakery. Great for the kids and adults as well. Indoor and outdoor. I believe we also took a carriage ride here for an extra cost.

This is a true gem and a must see in Amish Country! My daughter loves seeing all the animals and feeding them carrots. This visit she wanted to ride a horse. She chose "Big Bob" and we went on a ride. She loved it. They have goats on the roof of the barn to feed via the ice-cream cone conveyor belt. They have plenty of seasonal items. Right now they had pumpkins and fall flowers. They have great food options for a snack or a meal. Overall a great place for your whole family!

Lovely little place to visit. Petting zoo is lots of fun for all ages. Two shops for buying your local favorites. And they sell decent food truck fare, with a covered area to eat.

Beautiful experience for kids and adults alike. Locally manufactured goods and food in the stores with the highlight being the massive petting zoo, of course!
You can buy vegetables for the animals (at super fair prices!) to feed, pet & cuddle them. Inside was also a huge canary aviary where the birds sat on your hands to pick some of the greens.
Horses, sheep, goats, bulls, alpacas, pigs, chicken, turkeys, … it’s awesome!
If that’s not enough: enjoy the beauty of the Amish countryside frequented by their classy horse carriages.

×e brought our grandson & we all totally enjoyed the petting zoo. So many different animals, that are well cared for. The parakeets are a big hit with all the kids. They will land on your hand ,arm, head. Very entertaining. You can spend hours here.
The Amish buggy ride is a fun experience. We had a driver that was Amish & born in the area. He was very friendly & talkative. Great visit also.. the produce & store has a good selection. Of course picked up way more of everything because it's fresh. Would definitely return.

A large agri-entertainment facility with a petting area (closed during our visit), a farm store and a bakery. The baked goods were, well "good" comes to mind. We bought a couple cream sticks and asked for 2 coffee to wash them down but they ran out of coffee. Everything we saw here was good. But everything we saw we had seen in two or three other places. There just wasn't anything that grabbed you. Maybe if you had kids the petting area would be an attraction. But without it, and with it being off the beaten track, we probably will skip it it the future.

When visiting Amish Country in Ohio, Hersherger’s Farm and Bakery is always a great stop for all ages. It has been fun to watch the changes they have made to the place through the years. In addition to being a farm and bakery, there is a country craft store, a concession stand, and a petting zoo with a small fee for the kids. And, if you walk behind the craft store, you can also check out the farm’s work horses.

Lovely set of Amish shops and attractions. The line of food stalls along the market really helped drive that community market feel, too. Lots to do if you come with any little ones: carriage rides, petting zoos, lots of sweets. Personally, I enjoyed the selection of fry pies and leather goods. Parking is ample and the whole lot is kept very clean

What a wonderful place to take the kids in Amish Country! I've been to the area and driven by here so many times, but never stopped here for the petting zoo until the other day with my toddler. The petting zoo and buggy ride exceeded my expectations and they were much more affordable than I expected too. Some of the animals are even out walking around with everyone and napping in the open where the kids can pet them easily and some you can pick up and hold. It's not your average petting zoo, there were so many animals to see and pet! The bakery was great...next time I'll bring a cooler with me to buy refrigerated items. Our buggy driver was so sweet and offered such a wonderful experience! We also had delicious homemade ice cream before leaving, and they also had homemade kettle corn and local angus burgers and more! What a neat place to spend a couple hours.

We visited this farm and bakery last Saturday. I recommend going in the bakery first getting your treats and eating them before going over to the animal exhibit. The bakery was very good clean and oh my gosh the sweets from there were divine. We had cream sticks my son had a large donut. I wanted a fry pie but though today I'll get Creamsticks. The farm part was nice my son loved it we got a kick out of all the animals. The only thing I would say is 6 dollars a person was just a little steep and then having to pay for added food it just seems a little high but we had a good time despite. And this time there was more animals

Absolutely the most amazing way to spend a few hours with friends and family.
No better time to go than early October as the trees are changing colors 🍂 and the pumpkins sit arranged in the most beautiful displays.
The entire experience is unforgettable, especially for children.
If a petting zoo could EVER be described as "clean" and "orderly" this one fits the description. It's literally perfect! And the animals are incredibly healthy and well taken care of.
The Amish are some of the most extraordinary people in the world, and they do EVERYTHING with excellence. It's unmatched!

So many animals. The petting area was well worth the 6 dollar (adult) admission.

We have been going to this place since my daughter was barely able to walk and she loves it! It is a very fun atmosphere and the animals are so gentle and lovable!
Their food truck has delicious food but isn’t open during the winter season so we usually just go in the bakery and get some cheese and trail or beef sticks and cheese. We definitely recommend checking this place out, especially in the summer when they have horse and buggy rides and the food truck is open :)

We love this location on our Amish country trips. They do have a petting zoo which is great for the kids or adults. They have a wide selection of fresh produce, canned items, dairy and baked goods. Across the lot they have a store that sells chairs, toys and other items for the home or personal use. Definitely should check out on your next trip.

So I went on a Saturday around 1 and the store was packed not quite enough room to walk around and look without stepping on someone else. There was a line to buy some specialty cheeses so I skipped waiting in line and just grabbed some cheese that was sitting in the cooler. I would recommend the variety bits as they are tasty the pepper Jack cheese in the variety bits was amazing. The Ziller cheese I was told was the #2 cheese in the world, not sure where the voting was or what type of cheeses were being judged that is just what the lady behind the counter said while handing out samples. I’d suggest not to go on a weekend if you have the option unless you don’t mind right quarters and waiting in line.

Going to the Amish country and not visiting Guggisberg Cheese is unthinkable! Unless you have a genuine reason not to do so.
The cheese factory is about two miles off the main road between Millersberg and Berlin. The store has a fabulous collection of goodies - cheeses, meats (not for me though as a vegetarian), hot sauces, jams and jellies, soft drinks .. I could pick up only as much as my helmet would hold - 4/5 types of cheese and some hot sauce bottles. Found the smaller pieces of buttery cheese really appetizing and at $2.95 a small box, I should have probably picked up some more. Very little salt, and a hint of being sweet, in fact .. simply wow! The horseradish flavored cheese was simply outstanding. I was indeed happy to have taken the small detour and fill my bag with the goodies. Next time I am here, I am going to have a larger bag with me!

Museum dedicated to wood-carver Ernest "Mooney" Warther, with a next-door kitchen cutlery factory.
Before coming here, I knew nothing about who Ernest “Mooney” Warther was. After leaving here, I was astonished at how a man with humble beginnings had combined the blue collar life with his huge imagination and made history. This museum should do something to your soul. The handmade creations in all of their detail by Warther are all stunning. To come here and see his works makes a for a nice visit. To leave here and be inspired to make the most of what God gave us makes it WORTH a visit. Pictures don’t do justice. Come check it out!

What's not to love? The button collection is beautiful. I wish I could get closer and just sit and look at them all, get to know each button the way Mrs. Warther clearly knew her collection. An absolute gem of a place that blew all of us away.
We planned on stopping here on our way to tour some local wineries and wanted to spend an hour or so while waiting for them all to open. We ended up spending a lot more than an hour as we were absolutely captivated by the meticulous creations of both "Mooney" Warther and his wife.
What an amazing place! Ernest, worked in a local steel mill and then made knives. He then started carving scale steam locomotives using wood and bone and later ivory. The museum shows off his works. Anyone who has an appreciation for steam locomotives and their history will want to spend time here. Anyone who has an appreciation for craftsmanship will want to spend time here as well. And if the trains are not enough, the button work that his wife did is almost as amazing - but there are significantly less works on display.
I frequently found myself with my mouth literally hanging open as I realized the level of craftsmanship it took to make any of these models. Not only are they finely carved, but any piece that moved in real life, moves on the models. The museum guides tell you that Ernest invited railroad engineers to look over his completed models and tell him if they see any errors - and they could not find one thing out of place.
The grounds are also nice to visit as well as the house that they lived in. I would recommend touring those before the actual museum as anything you do after the tour itself will feel like a letdown - and it's almost just as amazing.

Mr. Warther was a gifted carver and knife maker. His trains are incredibly detailed and all hand-carved to scale.

We visited on a weekend with my parents and enjoyed it. We did the self tour so we could take our time reading and looking at things. They do offer discounts on admission (veteran, AAA, senior).
The grounds are lovely, not very large, but beautiful. There is a second building with a button collection that his wife accumulated over the years. We ran out of time and did not get to the 3rd building to see them making knives. Plan on at least 1 - 2 hours if you want to really enjoy the grounds and see everything.
The one con I would note is in some places the walkways are narrow or steep which makes it challenging if you have someone in a wheelchair or if you are pushing a stroller.

This was my second visit and it didn't disappoint. Both visits featured guides who knew Mr Warther as children so additional insights were provided. I will go again with folks we bring up from Tennessee. It amazes me each time about this man's genius and vision.

Impressive collection as MANY others have noted. Things I found particularly cool. A) He was self-educated (no formal school after 2nd grade) B) Pliers demo…can’t explain it but it is cool. C) He never sold them…always gave them away or burned them. The outside is also impressive. See the pics.

I was born/raised in Dover, so I’ve had a few tours, events and such with the museum. However, coming back with my nine year old daughter and husband has given me a new appreciation of how awesome this place is. The museum isn’t anything fancy but what it is is nothing short of amazing. The family still runs it and we had the privilege of having a grandson in law give us a bit of a personal tour. We even met Mooney’s great granddaughter, who showed my daughter how to make the ‘famous’ pliers. She was in awe. It was lovely. We went in February, so the gardens were obviously not at their full glory, but I have been in when they are in bloom in the late spring/early summer and it is fabulous. The whole tour through the museum, the button house and the family house is worth the trip and admission price. Truly a gem and what a loving tribute to the world’s Master Carver.

An amazing museum showcasing the spectacular carving skills of a highly talented man. From the Lincoln funeral train carved from thousands of pieces of ivory (before ivory was banned) in exacting detail that is just breathtaking to view, to multiple working pairs of pliers carved from a single piece of timber. The buildings are beautifully laid out by the Warther family who maintain it to this day as a celebration of his life and work. Highly recommended.

This museum should be considered a world heritage site. It is the only one like it in the world. The carvings are unbelievable and a once in a lifetime experience. 19th-century Gothic prison offering guided tours, overnight paranormal visits, events & a gift shop.
Fascinating, informational, and tour guide knew an answer for every question. This was the historical tour we took but they also offer a twilight tour, an escape room, and other options throughout the year. The architecture was truly amazing and it has 1 of only 2 in the world turn table doors. It was amazing to hear how ordinary citizens would interact on the facility to get everyday items done; Mail or haircut. Definitely a good visit for older children. Might be a little bit scary for the younger. I felt it was handicap accessible. There were ramps throughout the tour. There is a gift shop and a photo opportunity to get a mugshot or sit in an electric chair.

One of the coolest stops on our trip. We really like a lot of the ghost shows on TV and this is one of the places that a lot of those groups come. Even though we just did the 90 minute guided tour it was really cool to see and hear about all the things that went on in the prison while it was in use. Our guide Lee was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer questions and tell stories about things that have happened there. If you are ever in the area and have a chance this is definitely a worth while stop. The mound that the native tribes built is right across the street from here as well and is another worth while stop. It's almost like a two for one deal since they are so close.

Terri was great! Got the tour group signed in quickly and then spent time giving additional details about historical items in the gift shop/museum entry and other sites in the area. And luckily, this is one prison entry that doesn't require a strip search!

My boyfriend and I just returned home from a trip and did a 90 minute day time walking tour with a group of 10 with our tour guide Jason. I've wanted to visit for a few years and I got so much more than what I was expecting. Jason was a wealth of information and allowed plenty of time between rooms to walk around. He was happy to answer questions and had follow-up stories to go along with them. He was even nice enough to point us in the right direction for lunch in town. The historical tour and gift shop are absolutely worth it, the building is still gorgeous, and the grounds are still alive. Fascinating place.

This is a must see if you are anywhere in the area. My husband is retired Law Enforcement with a couple of those years in Corrections; my son is a CO and step son is a jailer. So tours like this are always intriguing to me! The history in the walls of this gothic building is amazing. Our tour guide Lee, was a CO previously (not in this prison obviously) and has a degree in history that is now the historian at the WV Penitentiary so I felt like we got the best guide!
The gift shop offers reasonably priced souvenirs and the admission price for the regular tour is worth the fee. They offer senior and military discounts.

First things first- This prison is on an Indian burial ground. So If that’s not going to sit right with your spirit, soul, or conscious, I may say skip this one. Also for the majority of the tours there is lots of walking and lots of stairs , so be prepared. This prison is said to be extremely haunted, and full of rich scary history. We took the nighttime north walk tour during Halloween. Very creepy experience! We got the abridged version of the max security area, and some fun scary anecdote’s. Our guid seemed knowledgeable, answered all the group questions, and kept us entertained. Definitely a must see if you’re in the area!

I stopped for a guided tour on a Saturday late afternoon in May. The tour guide was Tina and she was very good. She was knowledgeable and had a strong voice - there were about 40 people in the group and probably half of them were kids so at times there was some noise for her to talk over and a lot of moving around. She shared a lot of info and very much painted a vivid picture of things that happened in this prison. I found it very informative. I didn’t see any ghosts but I wasn’t really looking for any. Some areas felt a little unnerving and it smelled different in there - not sure exactly how to describe that but it was a noticeable scent. Water was dripping from the ceiling in spots - it had rained earlier in the day. I’d have liked to been with a smaller group and seen more but that might be available in one of the special after hours tours. You can find info on that on the website. Also, there is an Indian burial mound directly across the street with a archaeological museum which I didn’t realize until I pulled up. Plenty of parking in the street and in a small lot. I booked ahead online and would recommend doing that.

Very neat historical tour. Enjoyed the museum at the beginning that held a ton of old documents, personal accounts and old newspaper articles about the prison. It was also interesting to learn three men would have to share a 5x7 room for 22 hours a day and then getting to walk through the actual cells. Very educational and interesting to walk the grounds. No paranormal activity what so ever and the groups were large. Also wish there was an option to see more of the prison that didn’t cost over $100.
Samantha Fitzpatrick — Google review
Pros: Absolutely beautifully done masonry; very clean, yes, really! Friendly and pleasant staff.
Cons: Smaller than I thought, a lot of noise contamination if there are probably more than 30 people in the building; for tours not a problem, but for paranormal investigation, a big problem :)
I recommend you visit the place at least once and decide! Been there a few times, not much activity regarding paranormal events at any time; however, I visit these sorts of places for the history aspect over paranormal investigations. I have been investigating for decades, but history is my first true love!
Visit this place at least one if you do love history, masonry, etc. you shall not be disappointed!

I was personally there for the Locked Up Tattoo convention and Dark Carnival. I absolutely loved it!!!! I highly recommend attending if ever given the opportunity.
Some very interesting items! I've never seen or heard of a cooling coffin. Some fun creepy dolls, to boot! The hosts do a nice job of answering questions and introducing the items on display. Glad we stopped by!

A nice stop after our WV State Penitentiary tour. Owner very knowledgeable and willing to share his stories. 2 rooms of fascinating artifacts and historical information. It's in the old Sanford school and not easily noticeable if using GPS. It takes you to a vacant parking lot but you have no idea it's the correct parking lot until you've driven around the block and seen the front of the building.

VERY cool place!! Definitely spooky stuff and lots to see, especially when going with a friend. Everyone is very friendly + funny, absolutely the type of people you want showing you around in a haunted house. Awesome haunted doll collection, and Gina, the medium, was great :) I would love to go back sometime. Thanks for having us!!!

Visited yesterday and im not entirely sure something didn't follow me home after the night I had! Had a great time while i was here, the owner is fantastic! It is now 2 rooms as well! So, it is growing!
Be aware it is in an old school building so it does not have AC and its on the top floor, so dress accordingly!
There's so much to see! I honestly feel like i didn't get enough pictures!
Its off the beaten path, but worth the visit. Ample parking was available in the lot behind the school, street parking also seemed plentiful but it IS in a residential area so if you street park be cognizant that residents live there....the entrance is not where the lot is, you have to walk to the front to enter then the steps to access this are down the main entry hall and to the right....

I went here last night with a friend. The two folks that were there, were extremely nice, and very knowledgeable of all the items! We loved the stories shared, and definitely caught some amazing evidence on camera! I highly suggest history buffs and paranormal investigators alike go here!

If you love the macabre, history and of course the paranormal, then you will love this little museum. Each piece comes with a story and if you ask..you can find out even more history behind the artifact. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip here.

Bustling casino hotel with modern rooms, a golf course & a spa, plus 6 restaurants & a race track.
My family and friends all enjoy our visits here. I cannot review the hotel part, because I have never stayed there over night. We enjoy the gambling that is offered. Very wide selection of games, and they offer something for everyone and every budget. It all depends on how you like to play. Friendly staff, and they do have table games and races as well as slots, and keno. Very worth a visit, go and check it out for yourself!!

To all high rollers players. As u see I am the black card member If you want to come the casino that no matter you lost your money but the casino still counting that you win then come here. Because how many of you ever check how much the table games counting you win no matter that you lost???
I catch the casino cheating on my winning lost on the table games and ask for review camera. Instead of review and fix the mistake ,2weeks after I asked for camera review my winning lost on the table games, the casino send a security tell me I am not allowing come back into casino .
Thanks to the casino I will not lost any money for them anymore because even the slot machine is terrible great teaser as u see I bet 20-50dollars per hit but NO bonus games over 2hrs.

We would like to see more selections on the Gatsby menu, especially since the buffet is still non existent. The food NEEDS to come out HOT also. SERVING breakfast all day would be a great addition at Gatsby, Especially If you are not bringing back the buffet.

Nice place started out with some nice fat 35-1 wins on straight up roulette got me a good head start in wins for the eve. Migrates to the house tracks and couldn’t lose!! It was just one of those a awesum nights you dream of. I ended up staying for many hours and left a WINNER! highly recommend!

Honesty it was just okay for our first time here…my husband and I didn’t win anything, which I found to be a little odd…my husband usually wins big at least once and he lost for like the first time ever and we went to Las Vegas. Maybe since this was our first time here the house decided it wanted to take all of our money!!! Drinks were pretty cheap but I wish they would of asked what kind of gin I’d like in my drinks, I feel that’s part of being a good bartender. I’m not a huge fan of the casino having a smoking section, which was also the only place that they had the digital roulette that my husband and I really like. I’m not sure if we will be back, MGM and The Jack are closer to our house.

1 star because 0 is not an option. I was assaulted in the casino for saying "excuse me" and not "excuse me, ma'am" by a mean old fat lady with a bad attitude. When I spoke to the head of security about this, he was not helpful at all. In fact he said she is fine and they wouldn't be speaking with her.
So please know the Mountaineer casino security is not there for your safety. Not sure what their job is, but it isn't the safety of their patrons. Head of security on 2/11/23 @ 1pm. He seemed very annoyed that I felt my safety was at risk due to this woman. So I left. I had planned a couple return visits as their hotel is amazing! However I value my safety more than a nice hotel and some free play. I've canceled all upcoming planned visits & have zero intentions on returning ever. That is sad that people can assault others and absolutely nothing (they didn't even speak to her) is done about it. They can keep their rowdy hillbilly karens as patrons. I'm on my way to Wheeling Casino, because my green money spends everywhere. And I've never had a safety concern there.
So much for trying something new 🤷🏼♀️
I cannot recommend this Casino to anyone in good faith as it is possible that they'll be assaulted and absolutely nothing will be done about it. They should hold pay per view patrons fighting events since they seem to be overwhelmingly okay with it happening.
I will not return!

Dinner at the Steakhouse was FABULOUS! Starting with the delicious fresh bread rolls, then the Calamari starter was hot, lightly coated and tender. Our salads were generous and WOWEE the NY Strip was one of the best we have ever eaten. Tender, juicy and perfectly prepared! Loved the risotto also. WE ARE WORLD TRAVELERS! JOB WELL DONE!

What a casino should be! The casino was very clean and welcoming. The staff was super friendly, and really cared about the guests at Mountaineer. The restaurants were good, and they didn't gouge you like most casinos try to do today. Again, the staff was friendly, and the food top notch! The hotel rooms were big and comfortable, and again clean. And (you might notice a theme here) the hotel staff was very friendly! Mountaineer has everything I look for and expect from a casino. I highly recommend Mountaineer, and we will be back many times in the future!!

This casino really isn't that great to be honest. Not only is it in the middle of nowhere but the outside of the building needs some serious TLC. Staff are great and friendly. The food leaves a bit to be desired and unless you choose to visit on a Friday or Saturday (the casinos busiest time), you won't be able to eat at the "fine dining" restaurant because it's only open on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Now let's address the hotel "resort" portion of this casino. First problem is that one side of the hotel has no elevator (the lodge). It's walk up only. When the tower portion (which has an elevator) is full, your only option is the walk up. The second problem is that you can't book a single bed room (which would be cheaper). The only options are double queen or double king, and it's pricey. They tack on a "resort fee" on the rooms (an extra $16 plus tax) to the already ridiculous room rate, and the rooms have ZERO room service available. You can't order from the restaurants in the casino and have it delivered to you. If your room is in the lodge, prepare to walk all the way to the restaurant and all the way back.
Housekeeping will bring you towels or sheets but they will NOT clean your room until you check out.
This place is run with bare bones staffing. If you're there just to gamble then this would be perfect for you, but if you're booking a room here for an anniversary or special occasion, thinking you're about to get a real "resort" experience, save your money and book elsewhere.
Trust me.
Overall the place is OK for where it's located and it's nice for gambling but I wouldn't go out of my way to book a room there for a vacation resort experience. Although I hear that the pool is pretty good in summer and the "spa" is also sufficient.
Don't take my word for it tho, go check it out for yourself if you're ever in the middle of nowhere West Virginia panhandle !

They trick you. There are 2 parts to this resort. One, they call the lodge which is lesser than your lowest motel you can go to. Has funny smell? No elevator is far from any of the attractions. They charge you a resort fee even though this is far from resort quality. Can't say much about the main hotel. Only staying here because my company's paying for it will never come back again.

I love playing here but I really miss the seafood buffet. I think once they eliminated all buffets that it really hurt attendance. People want the full experience. Dinner, drinks, followed by fun and games. The other restaurants are great but I think their buffet was the big draw!

Brought my daughter here for her 21’st birthday with 7 other people to celebrate. We booked 3 rooms months in advance and they wouldn’t let her in the casino. She had a valid state id from Ohio but because it was paper (because that’s all they give you) they would not accept it. They let her drink at the bar in the restaurant but would not let her in the casino. Ruined our entire trip

This place was empty last night compared to the way it used to be. The set up is nice inside, and very clean. but the machines are too tight. I don't care If I lose the money I take to a casino, but at least let me play for a while. Playing $1 a hit, the highest wins I received were mainly .20 cents. Playing max bet increased those wins to .40 cents. I'll stick to Detroit where they give you a room, the actions great and always live music.

Sad to see what this place has become. Front desk employee never even looked up, didn’t smile. Dealer wasn’t friendly or talkative and made a mistake every other hand. Took 20 minutes to get a drink every time. We were even “scolded” for being too loud. You want people to have fun here right?

Breakfast at Mountanieer Casino is a great way to get you started in the morning. Very satisfying, wait staff were very cheerful and although very busy at 9am,they each made time to check with every table and satisfy their guests needs. Coffee served hot and also given a carafe for backup refills. Breakfast was very good. I recommend the pancakes!!.. very tasty , and more than enough to get you through all day gambling at the tables or slots.

We like Mountaineer Resort and Casino, but are disappointed they've moved backward when it comes to responsible resource use and reducing unnecessary waste.
We stayed in the casino hotel overnight (despite the deceptive and uncalled for $15 "resort fee") and dined at the Mahogany Sports Bar. The food was decent and came served on a real (ceramic) plate. But everything else was single use plastic, which gave the meal a very low rent feel. Our dinner drinks came in plastic cups, the coleslaw came in a Styrofoam container (with a plastic lid), the tartar sauce came in a plastic container with a plastic lid, the salad dressing came in a single-use aluminum pouch, and the utensils were of cheap plastic., wrapped in a plastic bag.
On the casino floor, we were surprised to learn that the main bar (and presumably the others) no longer serve draft beer - all drinks come in an aluminum can or glass bottle. Mixed drinks are served in plastic cups.
Not only does the plastic servingware cheapen the feel of Mountaineer's dining (especially) and drink offerings, but there are no recycling bins. It's a "safe bet" that about zero percent (probably, actually zero percent) of Mountaineer's aluminum cans and bottles are recycled.
Other motels we've been in at least offer guests the option of opt-in recycling at common area and/or room recycling bins. Many have also moved to wall mounted- shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash dispensers rather than the wasteful, disposable little plastic bottles. Not here.
In a time when more and more people are concerned about the environment and want to do our part, Mountaineer Casino is moving in the wrong direction.

Old Economy Village is a historic museum located in Beaver County that presents the preserved 19th-century lifestyle of the Harmony Society, a religious group. The community's homes and working buildings are still intact, providing visitors with an immersive experience of what life was like during this time period. Nearby Smicksburg also offers insight into the Amish way of life. The Christmas in the Village event is highly recommended as volunteers do an excellent job sharing their knowledge.
If you are a history buff, Old Economy Village is the place four you! Others who would find the Harmonist community fascinating would be students of architecture, as well as arborists, horticulturalists, photographers and artists.
Old Economy offers very entertaining special and seasonal programs such as a "Halloween" haunt hunt, Christmas celebrations with decorations and lighting, and many more.
It is well worth your time and effort. Programs are comparatively inexpensive; as example, the Halloween program costs only $16 per person (money well spent).
Check their website for calendar events, hours of operation and more.
If you're in the area, take a well-deserved break and come away with very special memories. By

Visited on a non touring day and they gave us total access to all the buildings. And I will share my photographs with you want a beautiful place? It was basically a lutheran outcropped Commune type living arrangement definitely worth looking into the history of it. It's very interesting. George Rapp was the founder.

The interior of the main building is stunningly modern and a beautiful backdrop for interesting portraits. The barn and reception space are so fun and beautiful. I've visited in the fall and for the amazing winter light show just this season. I absolutely love what this place has to offer. It's so important to educate our young humans to care about nature and native species and the botanic garden is definitely doing that.

We had our wedding at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden on 5/7/23. It was a wonderful experience for us. Everyone we interacted with in the events department was friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful. The trails are well-maintained and a fairly easy walk. We managed to get to a little over 3 miles for a nice, relaxed workout. Lots of great little things to explore for the kids (and grown-ups, too). Lots of green space to roam and run. Dogs are welcome, on leash. I got to pet several during our walk. We completed our visit with a trip to the Canopy Cafe and the gift shop. Lots of fun things to look at. The food was fresh and yummy.

This is a lovely botanic garden. Thoroughly enjoyed our walk through the woods and the gardens.
This botanic garden is young in comparison to a lot of botanical gardens I have visited. I think as it continues to mature it will get better with age. If you are avid botanic garden fan, go for the ample wooded trails and lovely facilities.

Verdant. Serene. An homage to nature. The Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens are an absolute must see for visitors and locals of Pittsburgh alike.
One enters these beautiful gardens through a serene canopy of luscious forests, arriving to the welcome center, which is built with scandic and mid century modern design notes.
Notably, this botanical garden is unique as compared to traditional gardens, offering more of a nature-based visit without many plant id cards or a guided tour, but more of a winding, organic path through the forest - a welcome feature. The lotus pond has not reached bloom season, and the water appeared a bit green (perhaps due to the proximity of the grass lawns and resulting fertilizer spillage). The carbon art exhibit is inspired, and the bee apiaries were an exciting opportunity to get closer to our pollinators. The 5 sense garden is perfectly fit for grandparents and young kiddos, or for anyone wanting to let out their inner child. The event venue space is less visitor friendly, but must certainly make for a beautiful wedding.
After a visit through the garden, we felt a bit thirsty and visited the cafe, which offers drip coffee, refreshing tea, delicious iced matcha, and a variety of nature based bites. Enjoying the beverages on the sunned terrace among the trees is a slice of heaven.
The visit to the gardens left us feeling quite serene, like the weight of the world had been alleviated. So lovely, and truly a serene experience.

Even in early spring, before many flowers have bloomed, this place is the bomb. Nature is always beautiful and as the season's progress, so does the flowers and other plant life here.
The walking trails are intricate interesting and really nice. There's a lot to look at. But best of all, the Gardens make you feel connected and at peace surrounded by and in nature.
Oh, they also have a great gift shop. I spent way too much money on the artisan jewelry there but it's worth it!

Good, but not great.
$12 ticket - good
There are like 3 parts to it.
First part - there is nothing much - just some forest & some wooden topless houses - no flowers , nothing great
Second part - has some variety of flowers - this part is good
Third part - the administrative building side - so pleasant & calm, some chickens & some wood houses , countryside, good overall

We have visited dozens of Botanical Gardens across the country, and these gardens are among the least maintained gardens we have seen.
When we visited in peak Spring, there is only one small section (see photo) with one peony bush and pink bush in bloom. The remainder of the garden is simply wooded walking trails through the forrest.
Price: $15 for adults
Duration: 1 hour to walk the entirety of the trails in the garden at a casual pace.
Recommendation: I would recommend visiting a local park for drew instead of paying for admission to these gardens

Beautiful blooms 🌺
Our first time visiting the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. A gorgeous walk in any direction and you do a lot of walking. Nice and spread out so you are not crowded by others.
First stop was the Japanese Lotus Pond. Oh, the beauty of this area. A bridge over water filled with lily pads and lotus flowers. Benches bordering the circle for a peaceful view. 🪷
We then headed to Bookworm Glen which was unfortunately closed for maintenance, but we look forward to returning when it is open. The Hermit Hut was open and we loved the art display located here! The apiary was a nice learning area and then onto circling the Dogwood Meadow. A break in the Highmark Gazebo and then back out for more!
On our way, we met up with a recycled family that greeted us with big smiles! Down into the Five Senses Garden for a view of some unique veggies growing, children’s play area, music love and more!
The flowers still in bloom were beautiful! We visited the bird’s nest which is a cute find. 🪺
We checked out the Davidson Event Center. You can just imagine the beauty of holding a bridal shower or wedding here.
We stopped into the welcome center for a live concert, recycled wall art installations and to visit the gift shop. The gift shop is little small for the amount of people, kind of hard to get through especially if there is a line at the register.
Last stop, Heritage Homestead. Learning along the way, we had to watch out for falling walnuts!
We really enjoyed this visit and we’re excited to check it off our Pittsburgh Bucket List. May come back Spring-Summer to check out a difference in blooms. A nice place to visit!

PBG was such a beautiful wedding for our wedding on 5/20/2023. We loved being able to make the space our own and have both indoor and outdoor options. We also had so many great spots throughout the garden for photos as well. Having preferred vendors for rentals and catering also made coordinating easy. The events team was also very easy to work with as well. Thank you for giving me my dream wedding!

We visited during their Dazzling Nights 2023 display and it was spectacular. We bundled up and enjoyed some hot chocolate (and adult beverages) along the one mile display. The different displays were all beautiful and worth stopping to enjoy for both the kids and adults. They also had some interactive light displays, which the kids really enjoyed. Definitely well worth the drive and cost.
Note that paid parking sells out in advance, so plan extra time to park at the school and take the free shuttle over. The shuttles are very nice, heated, and run about every 10 minutes.

Attended the 2023 dazzling lights event. Definitely recommend paying for the parking to park onsite but otherwise they have a free shuttle. We parked onsite. Parking is very limited. They were having a little bit of an issue with snow machines and some lights but that didn't really alter our experience. I can't imagine the amount of time it takes to set this up. Very beautiful and worth the visit. They do have an area where you can get some snacks and drinks. Hot Coco and bottled water and cider, also there is an option for spiked drinks as well. I honestly really just wanted a soda though water was room temp which isn't kind of my thing. You have to pay by card for the drinks and you can pay cash for the food. Staff is situated throughout the attraction for safety and questions. It wasn't incredibly overwhelmingly crowded and I think that's probably because you have to have your tickets in advance for a specific time so it made viewing the lights that much more enjoyable because you weren't on top of people. They do have a live performer in the food area and they have music throughout the attraction.

We went here for Christmas lights and it was OK. There were barely any food and beverage options, and the lights weren't as beautiful as the pictures I've seen previously. A few of the lights weren't on or burned out when we went. It was pretty expensive for the experience you got. Give people free hot chocolate or a cookie or something to counter the astronomical pricing. Also, put a warning sign by your "fake snow" because it did a number on my shoes and clothes.
