Beautiful facility with rotating exhibit items and photo ops.
Even though we went during a busy event day (spring break season AND a private function) we didn’t have to wait long for security. And we read ahead of time about health & safety protocols. So, that helped.
My little kiddos are 5 & 11 - both enjoyed the library and exhibits for different reasons. You’ll spend about 2 hours here and no matter what, you’ll learn something or see something new.
I was impressed by the table setting and Bill’s saxophones. Yes, there’s heavy-hitting news and history to read about. But some of the lighthearted items really spoke to me this visit. Maybe it humanizes the office. I’m not sure.
5 stars now. 5 stars the first year it opened. And I’m guessing 5 stars when I return in the future, too.

Such a neat experience. This building has several floors and so much to see, you could easily spend several hours here. They had a temporary woman's rights exhibit while we were visiting which was very informative and interesting. Aside for the historical part, the views from this building are amazing. There is a gorgeous, large park area to walk around outside that includes walking trails and a foot bridge over the river. We intend to come back to explore outside more!

Beautifully laid out library. We got on an amazing tour lead by Joyce. Very informative. Tour lasted hour and a half. Highly recommend the tour if you Have time. Take a walk across the bridge. Great views of the museum and Arkansas River.

Price is reasonable. Sleek, modern building. Lots of memories of the 90's. Of course, it shows Clinton in the most positive light. No mention of Monica Lewinsky and other topics like Whitewater or the impeachment are glossed over. That being said, the exhibits are nicely arranged and it is a fitting tribute. My only beef is that guests are not allowed to take their own pictures in the replica oval office--you have to buy an overpriced picture package for that presidential privilege.

One of the grandest Presidential libraries in America. Stunningly beautiful grounds. The school of public affairs is situated in an old train station waiting room, which has been renovated to perfection. The building is bound by the Arkansas River on one side and the city of Little Rock. There's a lovely outdoor cafe called 42. Don't hesitate to ask the wonderful volunteers for some stories about Bill Clinton's visits... they have plenty! .On the roof is his private putting green and apartment. They claim to see the top of his grey head often when he is there :) Wonderful place to bring the family.

How interesting! The gifts given to the Clinton's from other countries were amazing. The staff is remarkable. Very knowledgeable. The photo opportunity in the Oval Office is worth it. I thought that was the best part.

The volunteer staff is very eager to help. One of them shared that there will be a multi-million dollar renovation. The long hall, organized by years, has a LOT of detail in the form of audiovisual screens. Unfortunately, the many audio tracks are competing with each other, and I had trouble hearing. My favorite section was upstairs, where the state dinner bling was displayed. Also upstairs, many artifacts from Bill’s and Hillary’s childhood. The gift shop had interesting and unique items for sale.

The library is beautiful and so interesting to wander through. I love learning more of our American history. Grounds are wonderful, so much to see. It was busy the day we went, but everything seemed to move very smoothly. We spent a few hours there.

Tons of archive and documents. Vivid history of President Clinton and his administration. Really friendly stuff. Due to COVID, please make sure you bring either vaccine copy and wear a mask. If you can not show a phone copy of your vaccination paper, security will not let you in!

We felt like the admission price was a little steep in combination with charging for a photo to sit in the replica oval office, but the photo is not obligatory and the facility was very nice and well-kept.
I honestly wasn't expecting much out of the library, but was pleasantly surprised. I found the museum to be educational, thorough, and it had a nice mix of political and personal details to keep it engaging.
We spent several hours in the museum and came away feeling educated and optimistic about the future of politics.

Tickets are $12, and you’re able to visit the permanent archives and memorabilia and the temporary exhibits — I saw the one on dinosaurs with props from Jurassic Park! Parking is nearby, free, and easy. Great view of the river and city.

A beautiful structure located by the river. The library offers a tour twice a day. Try to catch it and then go back to read what exhibits you want. Plenty of things to do to keep you busy for 2 hours. Not for young ones really. Too much reading to keep them engaged. A temporary dinosaur exhibit was there when we visited. Kids would like it, but 30 minutes tops.

Just visited the Clinton Library and Museum – what a trip! Parking was a breeze, and I'd recommend setting aside 2-3 hours to explore. The highlight? The replica of Oval Office, no doubt. It's like stepping into history. Take your time in the timeline exhibit too. A lot to soak in here. 🇺🇸📚

This wasn’t the first presidential library I visited so I rated it one star less. My overall experience was great. I love how detailed everything was. Enjoyed reading about the history and seeing documents, memorabilia, how the oval office looked like to name a few. Did learn a lot of things during my visit and I loved the Dino Exhibit. It was great for kids and adult alike. Took off one star because we weren’t allowed to take a photo at the oval office unless we pay extra. Also, comparing this to other Presidential Libraries, I think it was small. Other than that, I had fun visiting this place and would highly recommend it if you happen to be in the area.

Visited with my daughter at the beginning of this month. She’s five, so it’s not always easy to bring young children to history-type museums so I was extremely happy to find out their were also having a dinosaur exhibit, that really sold it for her! I’m not the biggest history buff so what initially attracted me was the exterior and interior architecture. This was my first time in a presidential museum and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Granted, we did not stay the amount of time needed to truly soak in all of the history, but such is expected with small children. The dinosaur exhibit was interactive and plentiful, they made good use of today’s technology such as machine that turns drawings into 3D dinosaurs on the screen.
Shout out to all of the staff who made us feel very welcomed, interacting with my daughter. And a special shout out to the gentleman at the gift shop who have her a printed photograph of a cat, she loves that.

Regardless of your political persuasion this is a fascinating return to the days before COVID, 911 and school shootings when it almost seemed like world peace was possible given moderate Soviet leaders. It bypasses the scandals of Clintons indiscretions focusing on the challenges and accomplishments. No one is all good or all bad. This is well worth the visit if you value historical perspectives. Give yourself three hours to walk through the linear progression through the Clinton Whitehouse years.
M Hendershot — Google review
I am comparing this to other newer Presidential museums. The introductory film is a good starter and shows Mr. Clinton’s style. This museum is almost exclusively a very detailed study of the accomplishments and challenges of the Clinton administration. I am a fan, so was impressed with all that was accomplished, but would have liked to know more about his early life, family and challenges he faced. Perhaps more on Hillary’s early life also. If you were interested, you could probably read the displays for days. We enjoyed the state dinner wing with the gifts and other details. The pictures in the displays are very insightful and revealing. The facility is beautiful, and the slightly upper scale restaurant is very good. Volunteer staff was very helpful. Large onsite, free parking.

The library is awesome, even better than I expected! Gorgeous building and grounds- be sure to plan time to walk the gardens & railroad bridge. Wonderful volunteer staffers- very impressed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Informative tours- don’t miss the free tours, learned much, hits the highlights for those with limited time. Interesting exhibits- it’s not all reading, great exhibits! Great gift shop- impressed with selection, after we left, I wished I had purchased a few more things. The library was a highlight of our trip!

Amazing experience. Staff were all helpful and passionate about Arkansas every single person I met could tell his story and the Arkansas story.
The restaurant is worth the trip. Presidential experience on a working class budget

Very well done. Library is broken down by issue and year. Cool to see the gifts received from foreign leaders during state visits. The restaurant (42) has excellent food at reasonable prices.

Was really nice. Kids really enjoyed. So did we seeing the artifacts gifted, letters written. The bridge nearby and the 35 acres around for kids to run and ay. It's very well maintained. The staff And volunteers are knowledgeable and so kind. They take their time in explaining everything so well.

We went on a Tuesday. It was lovely and fairly less crowded. We really liked the new installation on the 3rd floor that showed more about state visits / dinners and the Chuily display. The gifts from other countries were amazing to see as well. Gorgeous! The staff was amazing and so very friendly. Plan on bringing your walking shoes to also enjoy the park and bridge. And, have lunch at Restaurant 42. The views are also amazing!

I was pleasantly surprised by how interesting I found going to this place. I was traveling with a friend who loves visiting the presidential libraries and we had time to kill so we decided why not. It was an amazing experience that brought back a lot of memories of the 90s to me. Definitely recommend stopping.

Our elementary school took a guided tour field trip and we were able to view the dinosaur exhibit which was really awesome! We enjoyed the presidential memorabilia, history, and art! All of the kids and parents had a wonderful time! Also make time to walk around outside and see the statues, walk over the bridge, hangout by the old train station. Plus you’re right by all the good restaurants downtown, and the Museum of discovery which is great for kids!

We arrived at the Bill Clinton Presidential Library on a Friday around 10:00 a.m. It is a beautiful modern library from the outside. We had to go through a security check. We purchased our tickets. We were not given a commemorative ticket just a sticker. The other 10 presidential libraries we have been to give you a beautiful ticket/souvenir with a picture of the library and the date on it. We were told they only give out the commemorative ticket when it is a special occasion. Also their printer was not working. All the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. We were told to start with the movie were Bill Clinton talks about his childhood and his road to the White House. After the movie it was a little confusing. They want you to start with the Clinton's White House years. We wanted to start with Bill's childhood and work up to the White House years. There are two floors to the library. The map is helpful. The library has a lot of glass windows and glass displays. It was difficult to photograph because of the reflecting light. Also the quotes are in sliver letters. We learned a lot about the Clintons. There is a replica of the President Clinton's oval office. The doorways are roped off. You can only go inside the oval office if you want you picture taken behind the desk. The cost is $14.00-$16.00. That's more than the admission fee for the library. Afterwards we walked around the outside of the library. We also walked on the Clinton Presidential Bridge. You get a different view of the library from the bridge. The library and the walk took about 2 – 3 hours.

This is a must see if you are passing through or live in the area. First Presidential Library visit, our young kids had fun and there are a variety of exhibits each touching a different topic. Its a quick 2 hour visit to see everything. Was not busy when we got there. The volunteers were very nice and had great stories but also gave us plenty of space. Made me want to visit more of these.

The River Market District in Little Rock is a popular destination for food lovers with a variety of eateries and stalls to choose from. The market hall is an open concept building with food stalls, coffee vendors, groceries, and take-out options. In addition to the food court, the district features a twice-weekly farmer's market as well as frequent concerts.
Delicious food options

The River Market was nearly completely devoid of people on our Saturday afternoon visit. While the place might be quite entertaining during the summer, it is rather lifeless in the winter. The Middle East Mediterranean place did have fantastic food and incredibly friendly service!

I don’t understand how anyone would consider this small rundown venue a “world class international market”…… the inside is 25 years dated…. Most shops and booths are abandoned, trashy, or closed. The shops they do have offers food that tastes like fast food versions of international dishes. There’s a homeless camp in front of and behind the venue. the outdoor seating is sad (old metal tables placed haphazardly on the concrete area behind the venue). Hours of operation are never accurate. there’s trash thrown all over the place. I dunno….. seems like a struggling venue with limited options.

Food was delicious from the Thai restaurant. Great choices and all very good. Sadly ,there was usually one person working each booth. This made for long waits for food. Great place if you aren’t in a hurry.

The Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site commemorates the pivotal event of the Brown vs. Board of Education case in 1957, when nine black students enrolled at the school after the government decreed that all schools must be integrated. The site offers interactive exhibits and a visitor center with guided tours, free of charge, open Tuesday through Saturday.
This site goes well beyond information strictly pertaining to the high school. It also covers women’s rights, workers’ rights, etc - because we’re not free until we’re all free. The ranger who met me at the door was obviously passionate and helpful. The NPS app is a helpful addition, especially to visiting the grounds. I wish I had planned ahead better, so that I would be able to take a guided tour.
Beyond worth your time.

Such an incredible landmark to visit. Also amazing is that it's still a functioning high school.
Kids were coming in and out of the front while our park ranger was giving us a tour from the outside. Presentation was given on the front steps.
Everyone should visit to better understand how segregation was, sadly, started in America. The path was long and horrendous but the students that endured the unspeakable torment made it possible for so many more to move forward.

Ranger Randy was the absolute BEST. He brought the tour as close to being there when it occurred as humanly possible. I was there based on his detailed explanation of events and situations the nine students faced It was chilling, to say the least, but he did not hold back a single detail or try and sugarcoat the situation He told the history and warned everyone up front, if you are here for a happy and sweet story, this is not that tour It was the BEST and most informative tour I have been on, and since I am retired, I have attended many of them Well, Done, Randy, and I HIGHLY Recommend if you are planning to take this tour and you get Randy, get ready to find yourself, regardless of race, creed, or color, literally standing on the streets and steps of history and feeling like you are really a part of it Well Done!!! v/r, Dr. K. We did not get to visit the museum as it was closed the day we were there, but just visiting the building was amazing. Central's history of public school racial integration was what brought us here and that would have been enough, but upon seeing the actual structure, we were blown away by the architecture and were compelled to research it's history, which I encourage you to do. It gives even more depth to the meaning of the events that took place, besides being fascinating in itself. Such a beautiful place that has obviously been taken very good care of- it's so gratifying to see that an important historical landmark will live on for a long time so others may visit.

The Visitor Center was was closed when we were there, but there was still parking available. Since the school is still in use today, it is free and open to the public to walk around outside. There are several statues and walkways. It was moving to be able to walk up the same step were history was made decades ago.

As a kid of lived through my own desegregation trauma...I simply couldn't drive through Little Rock and not see the famed building that was one of the first proving grounds of the Supreme Court's desegregation order! I am glad I did. I didn't know the National Parks Service had designated it as a landmark and had a visitor center with exhibits nearby. What I thought would be a quick snapshot in front of the building turned into an emotional roller-coaster and an opportunity to walk among history.

The high school is still an operating high school, so there are necessary restrictions when visiting the site, but the Visitor Center at the National Historic Site is a treasure trove of incredible information about the Little Rock Nine and the entire Civil Rights Movement before and after. The staff at the Visitor Center are incredibly helpful and informative.

I stopped by here on my way east. Intresting place even if it is woke. They have a junior ranger program but to compleat it would take quite a while. There is an old gas station across the stree that looks just like it did in the 1950s. This is a free national hiatoric site. There are a lot of intresting videos inside.

There are no words to describe this amazing piece of US history. Go on a guided tour- a ranger-led interpretive tour will give you so much more perspective/information than just visiting the visitor center. To walk in the footsteps of the 9 black students, the National Guard, the police, the media, the federal troops, the teachers, and the white students is one of the most sobering and provocative experiences that I've ever had. The school is still an active high school, so you can't go inside on a tour. Just walking the grounds is powerful. The history this school has seen.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is a beautiful state park located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The park has hiking trails that offer amazing views of the city and surrounding areas. There is also a visitor center and arboretum onsite, making it a great place to visit if you're interested in nature or hiking.
Pinnacle Mountain State Park is an absolute must see if you are in the area! The park is beautiful, has tons of trails and water access, and offers some of the best views near Little Rock! My favorite place to hike is the Pinnacle Mountain West Summit Trailhead since it has a decent grade, wonderful views, and has a bit of a scramble up the boulder field to get to the top. Pinnacle Mountain is the only place I have ever hiked both the sunrise and sunset on the same day due to the proximity to the Maumelle Park Campground I stayed at. The sunset at the top is one of the best I have seen across the country, and it feels like you are somewhere tropical with the colors of the trees and sky you can get when the sun is setting over the ridge. I cannot recommend this park and these views enough if you are around Little Rock!

This trail is not for inexperienced hikers. The trails begins fairly easy at the beginning and as you’re going up, you’ll need your hands to help you climb. I didn’t get bit by any bugs, although I saw a green poisonous snake. Luckily the other hikers warned me before I was about to step on the snake. When you’ve climbed your way to the very top, a fantastic view awaits you. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes, bring loads of water and snacks. I loved this trail and you will as well!!

A beautiful state park. Free! The hikes are easy, a nice walk. The views are some of the best in the country. They have good trails for biking as well. Lots of ground to cover. The lake is gorgeous. Water looks good. They have pavilions or places to have a cookout or barbecue. A playground for the kids, bathrooms, small pier for viewing, canoe rentals, and more trails to walk through the woods. My family really enjoyed this park. Look forward to our next visit!

Very nice hike to the summit. Clearly marked trail, even when it becomes boulder steps. More area at the summit than expected. You can make this as difficult as you like by increasing pace, or go slow. I went up and back in under 30 minutes, but I can see going at a slower more leisurely pace and enjoy the surroundings. The park itself looks like a great place for a family outing or group gathering.

We went on the West Summit trail and hiked on a clear day! Very steep at the top with lots of rocks. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots and be careful with leaves on rocks as they are slick. I almost slipped! Overall took about 1.5 hours for us. Worth the view!

Beautiful. I've never taken the hard trail but the easier one is a piece of cake. Id say takes roughly 1hr 45 min for the average person to reach the top. I do wish It was easier to get to the edge when up there but hey, its beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and their is also a playground for kids. Plenty of grills and picnic tables also.

We were very surprised upon our arrival at the size of this park, but really enjoyed our visit. The park ranger advised us that the West side summit trail was a little easier and not as steep. Nice park store, and we enjoyed our hike to the overlook area of the River. We were excited to see that the 223 mile Ouachita Trailhead is located here. Don't think it is an easy 1.5 mile hike up the mountain! It's very rough and you are climbing straight up and over HUGE boulders through at least a mile of the trail. It's very worth it once you get to the top, but we seen several dogs loosing their footing sliding down the rocks, and a couple of people in flip flops falling. It's important to bring PLENTY of water, and proper shoes! I know that my picture of the rocks looks flat, but that's looking almost at a straight up incline that you are climbing up to the summit!

My daughter (12 y/o) and I visit Pinnacle Mountain at least once or twice a year and have been doing this for the past 4 years. The hike is moderate to strenuous but the view at the top is wonderful. There are other trails and a beautiful park that has a playground for kids.
Take plenty of water (we have a camelback) and a bag to carry your trash as there isn’t a trash can along the trail. My daughter and I also pack a few snacks to eat when we get to the top.
I do want to state that we have stumbled upon 3 snakes (non-venomous) on or along the trail so, be careful and keep an eye out. We respected them and left them alone. I posted videos of them on my YouTube channel.

There are a lot of nice trails here. This is a beautiful state park. The people at the visitor center are really nice and you will find a lot of other hikers here to offer you advice along the way. Each trail is Walmart and very clean. I will give some recommendations on which hikes to do for each type of person that might come here.
If you are inexperienced at hiking, or if you are in a wheelchair or want to be on a paved path instead of a rocky or dirt path, you can take the Rocky Valley Trail. There’s a nice view at the top and it’s easily accessible by the parking lot in the visitor center which may be easier for you to park in because the other parking lots are smaller.
If you are a beginner hiker, you can take the bass trail, which is the green trail and hike as far as you want and then turn back and go back to your car. There is a few rocks on the ground but it’s mostly a dirt trail.
If you want a little bit of an adventure, you could take the West Summit Trail, which is the yellow trail up to the top of the mountain. It only really gets difficult in the second half where you have to go up some stone steps or some rocks that are placed like steps. once you get to the top, it will all be worth it. I don’t expect it would be that much more difficult than taking a long big staircase. Then you can turn around and go back to your car.
Finally, for an experienced hiker, you should park at the west summit entrance, and then use the base trail to go around the south side of the mountain to the east summit entrance, and then climb the mountain from the east and descend from the west. This is the red trail. Then your car will be right there waiting when you get done with the mountain. This took my wife and I exactly 4 hours and we are Relatively inexperienced hikers. It’s the most fun hike I’ve ever been on.

It is a good park for children, with a large area to play soccer or outdoor games, the restrooms are next to the play area, there’s vending machines for drinks, in case you forget yours.

This was pretty intense, and we took the yellow path. There's a red, way more challenging path. Beautiful views, totally worth the climb. Make sure you bring water and have time to complete.

Nice park outside Little Rock that’s clean and has solid hiking. Climbing the mountain and the 360 views was fun yet challenging.

My absolute favorite hiking spot! It's gorgeous and while sometimes it can be busy, everyone respects everyone else. It can be a bit of a moderate hike in some places, especially a few scrambles on the west side. The views alone are all worth it. Great place to take a pup too!

I'm not sure how well marked the trails are, but you would struggle to get lost.
We went up the "easy" side and still found it pretty challenging for people who don't hike a lot.
The view from the top of the Arkansas River was stellar.

I only got to spend half a day exploring this park, mostly driving through. Very nice place with modern facilities plus friendly people when I came across them. I did stop on 2 short trails with over looks.

We walked up to the viewing area and checked out the visitors center. They have some very interesting displays and a deck for viewing. There is a small gift shop and clean restrooms. We also really enjoyed waking the paths in the Arksnsas Arboretum right up the road!

Had so much fun. We went for the little.5 my loop after visiting the visitor center. The guidance is there. That had a playground as well so the kids had a blast. Most definitely recommend going there if you have young ones. It's a simple loop you get to see wildlife you get to see the water you get to see the greenery. And you get to go to a playground. They had some restrooms there as well.

Clean & rugged area. The quarry area was blocked off. The state park closes 1 hour after sunset. All areas free to explore. Lots of cypress trees in los areas and scenic views higher up. I frequent this area and find it to never be crowded like many of the others in the state.

Really busy on spring and summer holidays.

The hike was not too bad but you definitely need to bring water and be able to step over and on large rocks. We had a great time.
Destination featuring a historic lodge with a pool, plus hiking, boating & dramatic natural scenery.
Petit Jean State Park has been one of my favorite wilderness experiences in Arkansas! We stayed at the campground in the park which was extremely clean, had great facilities, and was absolutely beautiful. It made getting up and exploring that much easier every single day. My two favorite parts of the part were the Petit Jean Overlook and Gravesite, and the Cedar Falls Trail. The Petit Jean Overlook is amazing to experience at different times of the day with the lights and shadows changing constantly and is amazing to catch a sunrise if you can! The Cedar Falls are absolutely marvelous and if you can make the trek down and back they are completely worth it! This area is amazing and should definitely be on your Arkansas list if you are visiting the area!

Loop A is really nice. We had full hookups, lots of space between sites, and a separate tent pad. The lake is beautiful and there is a pool. The visitor center is very nice for basic needs. There are plenty of hiking trails and scenic places within a short walk or drive.

On our journey from Little Rock to Oklahoma, we were fortunate to stumble upon this hidden gem in Arkansas. What a delightful discovery it turned out to be! This place is a haven for nature lovers, boasting several incredible hiking trails to explore. Opting for the Cedar Falls trail was a decision we didn't regret. While it takes around 45 minutes to reach the falls, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination. The breathtaking views along the way heightened our excitement, and finally witnessing the majestic Cedar Falls was an unforgettable moment. It's definitely a highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refreshing outdoor adventure!!

Absolutely beautiful. Peaceful. This STATE park is better than some National Parks. The staff and rangers have all been super friendly and helpful. The hikes have a variety of easy, moderate, strenuous levels. Beautiful hikes. Bear Cave, Rock House, Turtle Rocks, Cedar Falls. The over looks are great and provide ADA Access.
The smaller cabin is perfect for my 6 year old, wife and myself. With everything you need to cook, make a fire, etc.
We will return and do Canyon Trail, Seven Hollows, and hopefully the Boy Scout Trails.

Absolutely beautiful! Almost didn't stop here on our trip but so glad we did. Lots of waterfalls, creeks/water, rock formations, and caves throughout the park. Large visitors center. Lots of great trails of varying difficulty and a handful of overlooks right off the road. Didn't camp here but they also have plenty of camping areas from what I saw!

Such a lovely, well maintained park, campground and amenities. We stayed at Campground B, space 49 for 4 nights starting 6/26/2023. We traveled the entire park, fished the lake and the river, and hiked some trails. The site was full amenities and had a tent site. There are varied amounts of amenities at different sites as well. The visitors center was great with pleasant staff. The auto museum was chock full of brand new condition that were 70 years old or more. Maher Lodge is a must see. The roads to the park are small, hilly type roads but not overly difficult. There aren’t any bait stores close, so bring your own. Firewood is available very close. I will stay here again it is such a top notch place.

Great park providing something for everyone. The trails were well kept and marked. Lakes were clean, peaceful and had plenty of options for boat rentals for us to enjoy. I would recommend the bike boats and sunset kayaking. The bike trail was smooth and easy to travel. Campsites were all very well kept and provided enough space to have privacy. All the staff and guides were very polite and helpful. Great place for the entire family! Plenty of picnic areas. Playground for the young ones. Clean restrooms and showers! You can even bring your pets.

Another great state park. Arkansas should be proud of their park system. I love the fact they they do not charge a fee just to use the parks. They do charge for camping. Very nice trail system for hiking and biking. It is dog friendly as long as you clean up after your pets. We stayed in the campground for a couple of nights.

My sister and her husband and I love going hiking 🥾🥾 and we thought we had seen everything that could surprise us, well were we ever wrong! This place was beyond our expectations! The house cave, was the most AWESOME cave we ever seen, to walk around in something that huge was an amazing experience, but to get there you had to walk around what we called the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 🐢 🐢🐢 🐢 LOL The Turtle Rocks were something totally out of this world 🌎! The overlook point was amazing as well! We also hiked Bear Cave and the other one where the bridge was out but we still did the whole hike. Your state park is so beautiful! Can't wait to do it again.

I’m visiting from out of state and went hiking here on Christmas day. It was amazing! I did the waterfall hike and the bear cave hike. The trails are very well marked.
They were serving lunch on Christmas and all the staff were super friendly. It was a great visit all around!

The most beautiful state park ever! The trail to cedar falls, and cedar falls itself has to be one of the coolest places.
We were lucky enough to be able to view the 2024 solar eclipse inside the Falls!

Amazing Place!! We hiked cedar falls trail and to a few others. Cedar falls alone was worth it all!! A workout but well worth it!! Wear non slip hiking shoes. The path and rocks are wet along the trail in a couple of areas. Also, don't forget drinking water.

Arrived, it was a nice facility. Some of the the front desk staff was friendly, the manager was lovely and kind.. we stayed a few days, and had to deal with another staff member think his name was Troy. His attitude was tolerable and kind of impatient.Being a consumer I expected better that, no room service which was fine, it was hard getting towels and requesting them when he was there. First day getting them was fine we figured out from the front desk on how to go about getting service leave it outside the door. The second day we didn't receive bedding and towels till 1:30 and they took the trash can as well, so we had to go buy trash bags. The lodging was OK, kind of small and enclosed, as well as getting things up and down to the rooms was difficult, being the pavement wasn't the smoothest, the carts couldn't go down the stairs. I'd hate to have been in a wheelchair. Overall, it was a beautiful experience; I just wouldn't lodge there again. The service wasn't all that to me; like I said, I felt tolerable vibes, but that's my opinion. As well as no security light during quiet time, it is pitch black. Going to get a drink from the vending machine . The light was so dim. We stayed three days in Mathers Lodge, garbage lining not changed until day 4.

The Lodge was comfortable and quaint. While our rooms were small, they were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the park was beautiful. We lucked out, and a cool spell blew through the night we arrived, so we had pleasant temps in late July.

Beautiful place and stunning views something for everyone nice day trips or camping there is even a motel, or stay in a cabin and eat in the lodge, a lake and swimming area. Hiking trails everywhere. Picnic areas, retreat camps. Wedding venues, car museum, waterfall, handicap accessible to all viewing areas. There are homes up there to along the back side of the Mt.

We had a great time at this park. We stayed in section C I believe which is the older campground. Some of these sites are a tight fit and our water facet was so far away from my camper I couldn’t reach it with a 50 ft hose. I did like the mature trees in the area though and we were able to make it work. Each site has your typical amenities fire ring, lantern pole, tent pad, etc. The bathrooms were really well maintained just a little dated in our section and the showers offered little privacy. The visitors center was nice and new and offered a small educational exhibit. The park offers so many hiking trails and other amenities such as an on site restaurant, swimming pools, basketball courts, kayaking etc. There is so much for the family to do in the area definitely worth the drive to visit and stay for a weekend!

We camped in section B fairly level sites with nice space between camp sites. Enjoyed some of the hikes. Beautiful waterfalls. Cleaned bathrooms. Very busy on weekends and very quiet on the weekdays. Great staff at the visitor center. Thank you for a great camping trip.

I only really had enough time to stop by the visitor center and the lookout area, but I can't wait to get back there for more!
The views were amazing and I know there is a lot more of them worth seeing. I also really want to get to the waterfall and do the hikes this park offers.
JC Prazak (Ozark Explorer) — Google review
Just a two night visit and a promise to come back! The A and B campgrounds are new and spacious but the C and D campgrounds are old and the sites are of uneven quality. Some may be too small, too uneven or too close for some people. The hiking is excellent with excellent markings and maintenance. The Mather Lodge is perfectly situated with marvelous views. I can’t speak to the quality of food, drink and lodging but I bet they’re good. Restrooms clean and utile if a bit old in some cases. We’ll be back to fully explore the hiking for sure.

The landmark Hot Springs Mountain Tower has views of the surrounding mountains and Hot Springs National Park. The tower is 216-feet tall, making it a great place to see the area.
Hot Springs Mountain Tower is a must see when visiting HS, Arkansas for sure! You get a beautiful view of the town below and surrounding mountains. Makes for nice photos. I've gone twice and would go again next time I vacation in Arkansas. Gift shop always has cute things to choose from. My husband bought me birthstone stud earrings the first time we went and a lovely ring the second time. Being way up high is always so exciting!
Elo?za — Google review
A breathtaking view of Hot Springs and the surrounding area! If you are visiting for the first time, this absolutely needs to be on your list of things to do.
The gift shop was cute and full of local souvenirs, the employees were very welcoming, and the top of the tower really is something to experience.
The very top floor is open-air, while the floor just below has windows and goes into the history of Hot Springs, the tower, etc. I can tell you I have a pretty intense fear of heights, but I went up for our kids and I really did feel safe once I got to the top. If you're nervous about going, I'd encourage you to give it a shot.
If you have young kids, be prepared for them to get to the top and say "Wow! We're up high! Can we go now?" 😂 You may have to do some speed reading to read some of the information on the enclosed floor.
Honestly, I may have enjoyed the drive up and down the mountain as much as I enjoyed the tower! It was filled with switchbacks and was really a beautiful drive. Lots of places along the way to stop, see the sights, have a picnic lunch, and even walk some trails if you'd like.
David Engle — Google review
Our family of 5 came for the bath houses....decided to see the tower. There was the option of parking at the bottom and hiking the trail to the tower, but the drive seemed like a better idea as Temps were nearing 93.
The drive up the mountain was beautiful with dozens of switchbacks winding though the trees as the sun poking through created a natural strobe light effect.
Parking up top is limited to about 50 vehicles...so come early, although many who come up do not stay too long. There is a gift shop in the bottom of the tower that looks a little dated, but the workers were extremely nice.
The price for the tower is a little steep costing 13 for adults and 9 for kids. 1st responder discount and a 1 free admission coupon from the guide book we picked up at the visitors center in town...we spent less than 45 bucks. The tower was busy (July 3rd) so there was a 5 minute wait for the elevator. There is a turnstyle from an old subway that you place your token in to access the elevators. A 1 minute ride to the top and you can staybas long as you like. The very top was open air but if you go around to the staircase, the is another floor lower that is enclosed with A/C and lots of reading panels.
We took the staircase back down which was pleasant.

Great views but very windy! Recommend bringing a jacket if you visit the outside observation deck! The inside observation deck is the level below it, but the views are better from the very top of the tower. Wish we got to see the sun set all the way. Unfortunately, their hours say it closes at 5pm, but the tower actually closes at 4:30pm. Wish they would extend their hours, especially during the summer when the sun sets later because the views would be beautiful! Admission was $10/person and parking is free.

So very pretty, and also very interesting. The gift shop is kind of pricey, but the lookout tower views make up for it. The staff is so nice, upbeat, and pleasant to interact with. To put it simply, the staff was refreshing. I highly recommend!!
If you’re in the military or are a first responder, they will give you a discounted rate, so be sure to bring proof or an ID if that applies to you.

My wife wanted to go up in this tower for our anniversary today. It’s a beautiful view of Hot Springs and the surrounding mountains. The elevator has a window and goes up the middle of the 216 ft. crossbeam structure that the overlook platform is built on.
Lots of souvenirs
in the gift shop at the bottom. Everyone should visit here at least once.

Beautiful uphill drive and nicely built tower. The best part was the elevator going up to the viewing deck. You could see miles away while going up. The views from the tower are awesome. You could see the buildings and the hotels around. Hot Spring, AR has so many trees. You could see the greenery all over the place from the tower. You also find the hot springs at the base of the tower while going back.

Easily accessible from the main road, plenty of free parking including for Handicap accessible Vehicles. The drive up is very nice with some view points. You can also walk up to the top
There was not a long wait to buy tickets or for the Elevator to go up. You can also walk the stairs if you like.
Excellent 360 view from the top with plenty of Historical Photos and information.
There is a nice shop where you purchase the tickets.

Amazing view from the top. You can drive to it or hike to it. Roughly 1/2-3/4 mile hike up the hill. Medium level of difficulty but worth it in my opinion.
Gift shop items are excessively overpriced, kind of expected, but not to this extreme.

$12 with a National Parks pass to get elevator to the top which is 216ft.
Great views over the National Park and over the town of Hot Springs. There is an exhibition level below the top deck giving the history of the town and the famous people who came to the area to bathe in the spring water.

The tower tour was a quick in and out. Lots of information on the history. Great views. We were able see the pretty fall colors view. The tower closed at 2.00pm due to the day before Thanksgiving. We also got $3off per ticket as we had the annual national park pass.

Must see and do. There are a lot of history placards on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is an outdoor viewing area. Loved it. I have a National Parks pass so out entry was $10/person

360 degree view up to 5 miles on a good day. What you see is downtown Hot Springs and a lot of trees and more trees for miles.
Two levels are accessible. Second last level is barricaded with glass and exhibits explaining the history of the town. Last floor is partially obstructed and you can feel the wind on your face as you immerse in the breathtaking views of the town.
Plenty of parking around the tower. 5 minutes easy drive through the winding roads from downtown.
It is wheelchair accessible and has elevator.
If you get a coupon book from the downtown visitor center, you get one free entry to the tower. They also offer military discount and if you are a military gold star family member, you further get a dollar off on already discounted military ticket.
Restrooms are near the exit/gift shop.

Recommended by a native from Hot Springs, we made a point to go before sunset and got there just in time before they stopped making runs up to the top (4:30p in November). Hold on to your hat when you get to the top so it doesn’t blow away! Beautiful drive up the windy 5k road to the base of the tower and peaceful, gorgeous views await you at the top!

Awesome views of the town Hot Springs! Well worth it, elevator was a bit sketchy though. You also have to pay for the viewing scopes up top. They have a gift shop at the bottom/ entrance when you first come in.

*Don't worry...there is parking at top next to tower.
The drive up, as the fall leaves are in peak change, was beautiful. No vehucles over 30ft due to tight turns on 1 way road.
You only pay if you want to go up. It costs about $13/person...there's also a discount for military/first responders.
Tower is the highest point around and view is beautiful. The gift shop at bottom is full of souvenoir options too. There is an elevator to top.

The drive up was very nice lots of scenery. When we at the top looking up at the tower was very impressive. So we paid our way in and took the elevator to the top and what a view! Then there is all kinds of history about Hot Springs and the tower with all the famous people from the 30s to include Babe Ruth and lots of other baseball players. The gift shop is also very cool with shirts, hats and other items. You won't be disappointed at all. This was my first time up and I did it for my 61st birthday!

The Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center is a restored structure that features exhibits and films about the bathhouses of yesteryear. It is one of the only places you can enter other than the Buckstaff, which has been in operation since 1912. The center also houses a museum with information about Bathhouse Rows interesting past and its famous former clients.
Such an interesting place! Definitely a must-visit for your first trip to Hot Springs. We did the self guided tour, and it felt like we were stepping through a looking glass into the early 1900s. As a nice bonus, there is no entry fee.

This is a cool place to visit and learn about the history of Hot Springs bathhouses. The exhibit is free of charge and open to the public. There are 4 floors, with artifacts and panels, images, and a brief history of the people that came to hot springs for thousands of years starting with Native Americans. If you're fascinated by history and a glimpse into how hot springs once looked, come to this place.
Alex D (HyrdoMisfits) — Google review
So much to do and learn! Beside Hot Springs having all the modern the National Park is the gem. Taking time to go through the visitor center and learn about the history of the bathhouses is a must. They have preserved and displayed something from each historic house. They have even displayed the separation of genders and race.
Remember to bring your water bottles and fill up from the hot and cold taps!

We were looking for "something along our route" and the bath houses came up as a Google recommendation.
My first thought was...that doesn't seem too exciting. I looked at some reviews by others and thought my family may enjoy an hour or two here so we would go. I didn't have any great expectations.
Boy was I surprised! This place was great! We stopped into the visitor center and picked up a map and a coupon booklet. Do that first!
We wandered down the bustling street and passed by countless little shops. We saw an amphibians tour and thought we might try it. Maybe later.
We stopped in a few bath houses that were still operational. With e kids tagging along it wasn't practical to think we were going to bathe, so we went to the next one. Everyone was super friendly and told us about the one that was turned into a museum....the Fordyce.
We made our way over to the Fordyce and saw they had guided tours, or you could self tour. We didn't want to wait for the guided tour so we checked it out alone. My kids were fascinated and I quickly read all the narrations to them as were breezed through the building. They especially like the electromassage and other "weird" technology from back then. We even watched a little of the theater info video.

This was probably the highlight of Hot Springs NP. It was really cool to learn and see how the bathhouses operated when they were in their prime. This is a free museum and has 3 floors and a basement!! So much to see and learn. You can also see a bit of the actual spring water from the basement.

We visited here on this trip as my husband had never been here. I thought it would be something fun for us to do. The Fordyce Bathhouse is one of the old bathhouses on Bathhouse row on Central Ave in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is a visitor center and is a museum of sorts as you can tour through the 3 floors and basement. It is a step back into the glory days of what it was like for people who visited the bathhouse for either treatment for ailments or just to relax and have social interactions with other patrons. The natural hot springs that run underground were a great resource. They have an elevator here as well. The staff/park rangers are very friendly and helpful. It's a clean establishment, and there are bathrooms for you located in the basement. There is a gift shop as well. The Fordyce is a must-see if you are visiting here, and it is FREE to tour also.

My favorite stop on Bathhouse Row. I always take time to visit this beautiful, historic building when I’m in Hot Springs. It’s been so well preserved, it’s hard not to get caught up in thoughts about the lives of the people who are long-gone that occupied this bathhouse. Some of the stained glass is truly breathtaking. Every room is a snapshot of history, some sad, but very thought-provoking. I recommend the self-guided tour for anyone who would like to reflect on the past in their own time.

Fascinating history. We took the 10 am. outside, ranger-guided tour led by Ranger Chimill. He was so knowledgeable and interesting. There was also an inside tour, but we preferred slowly going through the museum by ourselves as they had the information well marked on signs and placards.

We enjoyed our ranger-led tours of the springs and bathhouse. You can also do self-guided tours. Very interesting. More like a museum or historic site than a National Park, though.

We had a superb visit here, learning the history of the bathhouses, with focus on the Fordyce as we walked back in time through the facility. Our park ranger guide was outstanding as she explained in detail the evolution of the area and how the bathhouses operated. Fascinating stuff and well worth the time spent.

It’s free and it is rich in history. There are guided tours twice a day by the rangers. Definitely worth visiting! It is also surrounded by some of the operational bath houses near by. Also plenty of restaurants around. Parking can be quite tricky to find during weekends.

FREE Admission- What an amazing visit! The building is kept at 62 degrees- you may want to bring a jacket. If you are thinking about stopping in it is so worth your time. Very educational while enjoyable experience as well.
The park rangers were so friendly and knowledgeable. There are guided tours at set times of the day, a video segment. Make sure you make it to the third floor and see the beautiful stain glass ceiling in the parlor. There is free parking near by the building. It is a very busy area. A bit challenging to access but very worth it. Restrooms are available in the basement.

This is a beautiful historic home in Pennsylvania and the local government is trying to tear it down they put a prison next to it and now they're trying to put a methadone clinic next to it this place has a lot of history gangsters and politicians alike have sat in this house at the dining table and it is owned by a very nice and wonderful family now but the local government has been trying to push them out and keep trying to surround them with more problems so if you know this place please help to protect it write your local politician and tell them please save this house

It was our first stay at the lodge. If you're looking for a winter weekend escape to a peaceful and serene setting, the lodge will not disappoint. We stayed in a suite. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The window views of the lake is amazing. The staff was very attentive. We took a 1-hour boat tour from the marina near the lodge, to see the eagles. We had a great guide and seeing the eagles was pretty cool. There are local nature trails to enjoy, and a sunset stroll on the lodge property is a nice way to end the day. The lodge restaurant provides good food at a reasonable price.

When it comes to customer service this place went out of their way to make us comfortable. We showed up later than expected and no reservation. They got my son and I into a lake view room.
The restaurant showed my son and I amazing hospitality. When my son and I wanted to have our dessert in front of the fireplace they had the fireplace lit and made us comfortable in front of it with games to play.
The marina was generous and so friendly. We had a blast renting water toys and hiking in the beautiful forest right behind the resort. We saw about 4 dear during our hike.
An unforgettable experience for us! My only regret is not staying longer.

We stayed in the campgrounds site 104. It was full hookups. Didn’t use the bathrooms but popped my head in to check it out. It looked about average. Our site had a partial lane view and was pull through. It was pretty level. Looked like it had been a long while since the bbq or fire pit had been cleaned out. We also got has lot of ants all around the site and they even came in our camper. Had to go to the store to get ant killer.
The lake itself was really nice. We did a boat tour and swimming trip that was $14 a person. We were the only ones on it so that was real nice.
The weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get to golf or hike.

Pulled my ultralight Scamp camper down there for 2 nights, mainly to see how my car would do. It went well. I couldn't reserve the camping site that I like but was just down from it a few sites. A guy from New York said it was the best park that he had ever seen. I've camped there many times. Check out the camp activities. I didn't have a room or service, so didn't rate.

This is the 5th time we've been to DeGray. So nice and beautiful there. We like to go to during the winter time. Rates are lower and it's not as crowded. Fireplace was on, bar opened. Very cozy and romantic.i was told there were no rooms available that had a lake view but was very happy with my room anyway!

This was our first stay at the park. Stayed at the lodge while other family members camped. The lodge is nothing fancy but very comfortable and enjoyable. The camp sites were great too along with very clean camp bathrooms and showers. Our room in the lodge was on the second floor and had an amazing view of the lake. Definitely worth the extra money for a lake view. Ate breakfast in the Shoreline Cafe. They were only serving a buffet which was just ok. Gift shop had a surprisingly great choice of items. Such a beautiful lake. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend for all ages.

Beautiful scenery and very friendly employees. Shoreline restaurant has great views and food at a reasonable price. The kids meals are $6-$7 and are huge, in particular the burger. I had a pizza and it was fantastic. We will be back!

The location is very beautiful surrounded by tall pine forest bordering a well maintained lake. Food in the resort is expensive and the breakfast was over cooked dry but the service was nice. There is an outdoor playground, pool, gym, and a place to fish along with many activities to sign up for. We went on a guided group boat tour of the lake and a nighttime safari driving golf carts on the golf course! It was an awesome place for group events

Went here for the Thanksgiving buffet for $40 (includes drink and gratuity) and it was PHENOMENAL!!! They had everything you could want and more, from a massive salad bar and two tiered dessert table, to three meats, three gravies, and all the sides and fixings your heart could crave. We got there and immediately found a parking spot, went inside and there was no wait or line, got immediately seated and was able to head straight to the buffet with hardly any one around the food. The dining area had a great crowd but not chaotic and we got a lovely window seat overlooking the crystal waters and mountains with the trees changing colors. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving meal. Very low key, very delicious and zero stress involved. Afterwards it was nice to stroll the grounds outside and take in nature away from the hustle and bustle of town. I LOVE this holiday and I love cooking but this was definitely the way to go for anyone looking for a nice break at a place that takes you in like family, keeps the sweet tea full, and gorgeous views and no chaos. Only downside is no leftovers for later!!! Will definitely be back, this was truly a beautiful memory I want to experience the years to come.

camping couldn't get Internet or WiFi. That's the only thing to complain about everything else is so darn great. Staff was really great golf course was fun, what kind of grass do they have on the fairway? Went on a eagle boat watch, yes saw eagles and guide was very knowledgeable. Camping was fun and trails were well marked Saw lots of deer, drive slowly please.

Great lodge, excellent and helpful staff, and awesome view. Rooms are a bit dated, and coffee makers shouldn't be in the bathrooms. That's a pet-peeve of mine for all hotels. Otherwise great experience.

I can’t express how incredible this experience was.
Timing was incredible. We arrived right after a rainstorm end of March.
It was. Sparkle ✨ everywhere.

This was our first stop on our drive from Michigan to Texas. So much fun. The road up to the mine was, well, rough for Agnes, the 20 year old suv we were in. We were able to get a few tips from a more seasoned digger and once we knew what to look for we were filling our buckets in no time. We could have dug all day it was so much fun. The weather was perfect. Just a great day all around.
Carolyn Weeber — Google review
Ok, let's start with all the things I tried to find out online and couldn't. I drive a 24 ft freightliner sprinter van. It's 9'10" tall. Yes, it fits on the road. It's not great, but the road isn't nearly as bad as we were led to believe. We made it just fine, go very slow.
They have 3 tiers of "digs"
#1. The regular dig.. piles and pits full of dirt and fun shiny things to find, and you will find them..
#2. The commercial dig ...$100 per person... a much smaller pile and a pit of dirt to find fun shiny things in, altho didn't find as many shiny things here as we did in the regular dig previously.
#3. A private "pocket dig"... Ranges from $300-$1000. It's not digging like you think it is. You need a pickaxe and a large crowbar to get pretty much anything. You are breaking apart rock and digging open a rock face. We opted for a $300 option, just to get our feet wet. We were given 2 tiny veins of clay, about 15 feet tall and about 1.5-3 inches wide. Your job is to dig that clay and mud out and find crystals. The largest one we found was 3/4 of an inch wide and about 1.5 inches tall. Everything else was the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. We were shown some beautiful pieces at the trailer that could be found in the pocket digs.. Not a chance those came from the place they put us. Lol
We got about a third of a bucket of crystals. The ones we dug out were VERY small. And you have to work insanely hard, standing painfully on the rock face to get them. It's not easy folks, not at all. And the reward for us was very disappointing. I read that if you didn't like what you found they made it up to you. They told us this too. When we left they gave us two little crystals about 1.5 inches in diameter. So, I guess?
Take away:
Do the regular dig. Unless you're in great physical shape and have good climbing skills and fantastic balance, oh, and the right tools, a pocket dig may not be for you. Those videos you see on tik tok and YouTube, are NOT what you're going to experience.
I'm sad that we spent $300 to find out that we would have a much nicer haul in the regular area. I feel kinda like we paid for torture. Lol. But we will be back someday, to dig like the regular tourists.
Thanks for the adventure guys!

This place is awesome! You are guaranteed to find something wonderful. Take what you find for one price. We had 2 adults and an 8 year old - paid $62. Beware - CASH ONLY!! Pics don't do the rocks justice. Found some citrine, smoky quartz, milky quartz, and beautiful quartz crystals. Bring drinking water, a bucket, and a rock hammer if you have one (not necessay tho).

We called on Friday and set up a $300 dig on Saturday. They told us to be there at 9am and they'd have our pocket ready for us. That was perfect and we were excited to drive 2hrs to have our own private pocket dig. We get there at 8:50 and they tell us that the dozer operator probably wouldn't be there until 10, but we can pay to dig in the $25 area until he got here and then we can pay the rest of the $300 for our own dig. (Basically paying full price even though we were getting shorted on our time at the pocket) We drove this far and didn't wanna go home empty handed so we stayed. He shows up around 10:30 and proceeds to tell us that he didn't even know that we were coming and apologized for our wait (no prob, we all make mistakes) but then he goes on to say that he doesn't even have the proper license to operate the heavy machinery. Would have been nicer to tell us to try back when they were legal instead of tricking us into the cheaper dig that I definitely wouldn't have made the drive for. When we complained about not getting our money's worth he tells us that he's lost way more in fines over his license issue then we did today. I'm sure it's a cool place w great crystals, but everyone I know and love will not be wasting their money at this place. How long have they been illegally digging?

We had a great time at this crystal mine and will definitely be returning. Next time, we will be bringing an array of tools for mining, gloves and buckets; they don’t provide these things for you so make sure you bring your own. Luckily the proprietor was so nice and lent us some tools! While there is a commercial area for larger rocks, the main section had tons to pick from.

We were at the gate at 9am- 9:30am 7/11/23 the gate never opened no one but another customer ever showed up so we went down the Road to Anants and had a wonderful dig there.
Came all the way from Illinois for this mine and was very disappointed he never showed up.

Drove 13 hours just to come mine here, and we will DEFINITELY be back. We found so many beautiful crystals! Highly recommend doing the commercial or pocket digs! Bring your own tools, gloves, water, sunscreen, extra buckets, and good shoes/clothes for mining that you don’t mind getting dirty. Call ahead during hotter temps to be sure they’re not closed early for safety. The road getting back there is rocky, so take it slow, and bring a truck or SUV if possible! We made it just fine in our car though. Bobby was so nice and made us feel welcome! Can’t wait to come back!!

Been here twice. Nice crystals, but don’t pay for pocket. When we paid $500 for pocket on our second visit - we called in advance, drove hundreds of miles - and not only were they over 30 minutes late to open, the pocket wasn’t ready as promised and we had to wait another 45 minutes. After working our pocket for an hour or so - we were asked to move because they needed to open up another pocket near us. This took another 30 minutes or so, and then we were asked to move a little bit further over by Bobby’s assistant ….Bobby left both times right after opening, so we couldn’t talk to him. Then, at 3:30 we were all told it was time to pack it up…So the 9-4 dig of 6 hours was really only about 3 hours,,,finally - my observation, opening a pocket is ONLY scraping over an already open pocket - that is sold over and over ….

Best crystal mine - hands down! The crystals are abundant and water clear. The owner, Bobby, has taught me so much and helped me each time I have visited. Whether you are brand new to digging crystals or an experienced collector- this is the place to go to!

We loved this place! It was recommended by a co-worker and we are glad we went. We were a party of 4 adults, 2 teen girls and 2- 12y/o boys. We only brought a couple shovels but still found a lot of crystals. We plan on going back in the fall but will definitely bring more tools. Tips: bring your own tools/buckets, lots of water, snacks, bandaids, cash (they don’t take cards), and make sure to use the restroom before you go (there is only one port-a-potty on site). We just did the $25 pp dig and it was perfect. There is a $100 commercial did but someone said it’s harder work but you can find bigger crystals this way.
We paid the $40 per person to go to the phantom mine. Totally worth it. We went with a great group of people. You get 4 hours at the mine it takes about 45 minutes each way to get there which they do take you up to the mind and their trucks. Bring snacks, lunch, drinks and lots of buckets. We went to three lines while visiting the area and I would have to say this was my number one. I will definitely be returning. Friendly staff for sure. It cost a little more than the other ones and you don't get to just stay as long as you want but those are the only things I can think to be a negative.
Brianna Shaffer — Google review
We spent the day with our guide Lance at the Phantom Mine and had the best time! Last summer we visited the Crystal Forest site. The kids had such a good time I knew that we'd be stopping by here again. I wasn't sure if we should step up and pay to go to the Phantom Mine but I'm so glad we did! There were so many crystals to be found here. Lance was helpful and knowledgeable, pointing us in the right direction to find what we were looking for. He also hauled the full buckets of rocks into the truck for anyone who needed it.
At the end, all of us were happy with our finds, having found something unique like a large phantom crystal or special because they're large and clear. When we were finished with our two 40 minute drives (in and out) and 4 hours of digging, the kids (7 and 8) were already asking when we could come back.
Thank you Wegner Quartz Mine and Lance for a fun day!

This was an amazing place. If you love crystals or playing in the dirt this place is for you. Do the truck trip up the mountain and add extra time when they ask if you think you want to stay longer. The ground up on the site is covered in plenty of sparkling rocks to take home. I found a ton of small clear quartz and some great clusters. The staff are super friendly and even though I don't remember his name, our driver was a cute, bearded guy and was very helpful in telling us where to look. My friend and I just started calling him the hot mountain man🤣. Do the morning trip so you have the guide with you, he has to take a lunch so the middle trip doesn't get to hang out with the expert. The tailings area was not horrible BUT when we do this again we would rather pay for more time on the hill than in the sand pit.

COOL place for rock hounds. People working here are wonderful. Bring a bucket, garden 3 prong tool, water cooler, rock hammer might be useful, hat/sunscreen and bug spray needed. Foam knee pad was very useful and helped on the knees. Little hand towel for wiping sweat off. Also pack a lunch. This place not for those with trouble walking, need good shoes that cover your toes. Rocks are sharp. Crazy people would wear sandels here and i did see that and they had cuts at no fault than their own.

What special people and special crystals!!! This was the first mine I went to when I got to Mount Ida, Arkansas! It was a good way to begin my geological journey from just simple rock hounding to full on digging for my own crystals. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to try this for the first time. You probably won’t pull the biggest rarest stuff out of here, but you will meet some of the best people out in Arkansas! Charley was my tour guide and he was THE BEST!!! We had an amazing time and I ended up going back for the phantom mines. I would highly recommend this tour if you can get it because you’ll find some special specimen. Can’t wait to come back and dig for moreeee!!!!!

Worth every single penny. My trip to this mine was significant to me and changed how I view quartz for the rest of my life.
I spent hours here and I could have spent more! You pay a flat rate and get to keep what you find.
If you're hesitant, don't be! Just go and have the time of your life digging quartz directly out of the earth!

What an incredible find!
This establishment has all the things you want to see as a rockhound. There is an impressive selection of rock specimens to choose from. The mines have uncovered some impressive treasures. Those and other finds are on sale in the shop at very fair prices.
We chose Wegner as a fun girls trip. That was a lucky choice. There are many to choose from in the area, but the employees here, they are kind and they know what they are doing. This is their passion too.
Chris was our guide and I can't say enough good things about him. As someone who travels to rockhound, it was refreshing to see someone know how to hunt be able to teach what to look for and have obvious knowledge of the objectives. Because of Chris and his ability to communicate , we found a wonderful vein with gorgeous points. Dude is a crystal locating gangster.
You have to do the work, but he knows where to look. Listen to him.
We left with a haul of treasure.
Becky, at the front is so helpful and knowledgeable... Not just with the rocks, but she made us feel welcomed on the mine and gave us recommendations to eat in town... I'm not gonna lie, I bought more because of Becky.
You probably will too.

Doug, our guide took the time to show us the different parts of the mine and where different types of crystals could be found. One area had mostly clear beautiful points. Another area of tailings had great clusters. He was very kind and helpful. I also appreciated that he drove the truck slowly so our crystal’s would all be protected. I’ve been to several mines in Arkansas and it didn’t get better than this. No matter what you do you will leave with many pounds of quartz. The ladies who work in the crystal shop were also very sweet and answered all my questions. I’ll be back!!!

Drove all the way from Wisconsin and well worth the trip! Bring your own bucket and digging tools. I highly recommend gloves. The staff is fun, helpful and informative. The trip on the back of the truck to the mine is half of the adventure! Two hours was all we needed to fill a five gallon bucket. The shop is packed with great deals on crystals from around the world. Highly recommend it!

Aboslutely amazing!!! Went for 2 hour mining. Our first time. Right after a good rain. Found a ton of gorgeous small clear quartz! Great for jewelry! Staff was great! They suggested the Hickory Nut Mountain observation view-- Which was STUNNING!!! 🤩 Highly suggest!! Especially after a good rain!! Great time and fantastic memories!! Photos aren't even ALL of what I got in 2 hours of fun!!

HOW COOL! We found some amazing quartz crystals here. I felt like the price for 2 hours was very reasonable-although I think if you stay out longer you should get a discounted rate. We had a blast, and my son found a GIANT cluster. He's had a blast telling everyone at school about it-I had to send pictures to his teachers.
The crystals are plentiful-the second we stepped off the truck I pointed out a large one to my son and he dug it up. There are some very very clear quartz, and some milky. I could easily spend all day here!

I recommend the 2 hour dig tour. If you don't have the time, they have a decent selection to choose from. I should have asked about all the glass rocks they had on display outside. I might have gotten an interesting story. However, unaware that it was glass prior to my visit, created a type of alure. I was fascinated by their petrified rock collection.

1st and last time we will be going here. Even though the shop in front was nice, the mining was terrible. It looked like a sandpit for children (as you can see in one of the pictures). Also we were not assisted by anyone or helped at the mine. None of the people in my group found anything worth our time. Its a gimmick to try and save the best for private digs. Maybe, the front desk staff needed to give us more information but they were in their own little world. I recommend going down the road to Avatar mine or Colemans.

The Phantom dig was well worth the price! We brought home bags of crystals plus some really nice clusters. All in our group were happy when we left. Lance was great at helping us fine beautiful crystals. We would definitely do this again!

This was our first time crystal digging and all the employees here made it such a great experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful and had great attitudes! We were very successful at the mines! We got the entire package and did all the activities they had to offer. Some things to know when you're crystal digging...bring gloves, something sturdy to scoop or dig with, a backpack with snacks and water or a lunch if you're digging long, a bucket, hat and sunglasses, and sunscreen! Happy digging!

Do the Crystal Forest vein it’s littered with big crystals, don’t waste your time with tailings sand box. Take gloves, pick or small shovel & at least 2 buckets a person. Wear thick sturdy shoes for hiking with steep sharp rocky terrain. Wear a fanny pack or backpack for drinking water and putting little crystal points.

First tour of the morning, excellent Guide up the mountain, very hands on dig and crystals everywhere, hudge deposits. Bring digging tools, buckets, bags, gloves, boots, dirty clothes, and some water. One of the best and friendliest dig sites around.
Crater of Diamonds State Park is a distinctive geological attraction situated on more than 37 acres of land. It offers visitors the opportunity to search for diamonds, rocks and minerals in a thrilling treasure hunt experience. The park also boasts a well-maintained campground with access to excellent shower facilities and picturesque walking trails leading to nearby rivers. Although camping fees may be considered expensive at $42 per night, overall, Crater of Diamonds State Park is an enjoyable destination worth visiting again in the future.
Campground is a little pricey at $42 a night but we still had a great time. Shower house was some of the best I’ve seen and there’s nice walking trail to the river nearby. And of course the thrill of the hunt for diamonds! We would stay again

While the allure is to get rich quick, your chances of finding anything other than sweat and a fun time are pretty low.
That said, the cost to enter and dig ($10) was reasonable as was the cost to rent the tools ($15 for the full bundle but you can rent a la carte as well - note that a higher deposit is required but then returned).
Getting there early is a must to secure a spot at the water trough. Since there is almost no shade anywhere except the pavilions, bring a hat at the very least and a lot of drinking water. Heatstroke can creep up on you very easily because your hands feel cool when they are in the water.
El — Google review
It's was fun and challenging. You got to be there early if you visit during the summer so you'll get some shade. Other than that it is hot and you need to bring a lot of water and some things to give you shade. Also lots of sunscreen. If you are worried about the tools and other stuff you want to use for digging, they got it for rent. So just bring some clothes you are not worried about getting dirty, bring snacks and lots of drinks for hydration.

This was fun. Everyone was friendly. Staff are very professional. I could bring my dog with me. I camped, and the campground was well kept, and well patrolled. Can't give it 5 stars because, well, it was crowded. I thought coming in the off season would be a quieter experience, but I was wrong! Also, a gigantic family took the campsite next to mine on the second day of my visit (like 3-4 tents full and a floodlight/speaker) and were loud and obnoxious. Also, as another reviewer put it, some visitors are "all in" trying to get rich finding a diamond. I was just here to fiddle around, camp, and maybe find some crystals. I think it would be more fun to bring kiddos here and let them have a big time digging, hiking, and hanging out at the water park. Overall, though, it's a good place. Definitely felt safe.

This was a cool experience! We did go on a weekend in spring, but decided to go early. We got there when it opened, and saw online that you could rent everything for the day or bring your own items to dig. Dig. Since we were from out of the area, we did rent everything from the state park. Park. The only thing that we brought were gloves, we decided to stop and get gardening gloves ahead of time. I'm kind of glad we did! It was pretty cold that morning, and that really saved our fingers. For checking out the items, they require you to make a larger down payment but then you do get some of it back for returning the items clean. I think we got a bucket, some pans, and then a shovel. That was pretty much all we needed.
We decided to head out into one of the farther corners of the designated space. We spent a little over an hour and a half perusing the areas. It was pretty fun to do as a family! We found a variety of different stones, and then when you bring the items back to check them in, they do have somebody sitting at a counter helping you determine what type of gems and stones you find. We didn't find anything worth money, but we did find some neat rocks.
Some helpful hints, if you have kids they will get muddy. When we went, it didn't rain for a few days, but both of our preteen kids got full of mud. They were even trying to stay out of the mud and they still got mud all over them. So I would recommend bringing a change of shoes and or clothes along. Probably a good idea to wear older clothes as well. Another good idea would be to bring a bag or something to store your rocks and gems in after you're done digging. Luckily we had a ziploc bag in the car, and we were able to store what we decided to take with us. We didn't think of that ahead of time. Would recommend going early if you can, as we were leaving later, buses of people were arriving. It definitely got busy!
They did have a nature center, gift shop, and good size parking lot. The people we encountered were very helpful and friendly.
Overall it was a very cool experience and we were glad we did it.

We didn't stay this time to mine/dig for diamonds, but did enjoy the River trail. It was really nice to see the paved ADA trail for over half the trail. The 2 fitness spots were nice as well. The placards along the trail were some of the best I've seen, and were very informative. Loved the footprint and leaf ones! The river view was nice, but wished there was a dock or pier to go out on. The non-paved part was really nice too, like you're a kid playing in the woods! Wear repellent for sure. Very easy & quick trail. Walked the short wildlife viewing trail as well. Didn't see any wildlife, might be nice to have some feeders for them to draw them in. Was a nice clearly marked trail. The campsites were nature friendly & tucked away, not right on top of each other. The visitor center didn't have much in stock, but was very informative as far as the history of the park and how to know you found a diamond.

This is a cool place to bring the family and just have fun. You can rent equipment or bring your own. Digging all day looking for rocks, gems and diamonds. Finders keepers on anything you dig up. Has a water station to sift through the dirt you dig up, places to sit and cool off and stations to refill your water bottles. A cool gift shop plus some info and interactive places to learn more about what you can find. Has a water park to cool of in afterwards.

Very fun experience. The location was beautiful. The park had very informative information and provided beginner digging tools. Would highly recommend a visit. Gear to bring would include a chart to carry food and refreshments. Boony hats, sun tan lotion, and some type of sun shade covering. Digging equipment would suggest bringing a regular shovel or picking one up on the way.
Justice League — Google review
I really want to rate this 5 stars and brag about it, but it’s not my thing. We saw lots of folks that were “all in” on the concept, likely locals that have easy access to the place and can just visit whenever.
It’s essentially a large plowed field - it’s quite a few acres- and you’re just digging/sifting through mud or dirt. There’s no rock (for the most part) to scrape at and find the next big diamond. You’re just sifting through dirt in hopes that you’ll find something.
I lost interest after about an hour and really tried to make the most of it. But unless this is your “thing” you won’t likely enjoy it as much as diehards do. It was mind numbing.
Saving grace? The staff inside the shop were super duper helpful and friendly. The gift shop had quite a few fun things so that was cool. The staff out back are able to help you identify anything you find, so that’s cool.
I have no interest in returning and would be unlikely to recommend this to anyone who approached me specifically about it.

This was a very interesting and educational visit. While we didn't find any diamonds we still got the thrill of the hunt. My teen kids who normally don't go outside had fun digging and sifting.
It would be nice if there was more drinks and snacks but a town isn't too far away and there may be more available during the summer.
They post info on finds, last rain, and last plowing. You should do a little walk around and find a place not as well traversed to increase your chances. Overall a fun afternoon of family fun.

This is a fun place to visit! There was a 7.46 carat Brown diamond found the day we visited! It's amazing that diamonds are continually found and the park is 'Finders keepers'!
They have done a great job with this park. There is a museum that tells the history or the park, previous diamonds found, and how they recommend finding them. There is a small souvenir shop too. The park also has a place to rent equipment for diamond hunting. We did use their equipment and it was in great shape for us amateurs.
There is also a pool and kids area for warm weather fun! The park is beautiful and God did an amazing job creating this place!
This is a great place to bring kids.
I will be back to camp, spend more time here, and hunt for diamonds!

We had so much fun. I have plenty of recommendations including a requirement to wear rain boots of some sort. That would be my only issue as I went straight to the mud then went to the dry spot. Also look at images of diamonds in a pile. You really will know if it’s a diamond vs quartz, crystals, or glass. We can’t wait to go back.

We were there first week of January. Took two of my grand kids to look for gems. We like to look for stones on the beach, so I thought this would be fun. We didn't find anything but we had fun being there and trying. It was a bit chilly and some parts were muddy, but the sunshine helped. The visitor center is very informative and helpful. We brought are own tools, shovels, rakes and sifters and our chairs. Took a break and had lunch in our car, it was windy and chilly and gave us time to warm up a bit before heading back out.

A unique park, to say the least. We spent three hours here, mainly digging in the dirt. We found several gemstones and many neat rocks.
There's a nice gift shop with very polite employees. You can purchase basic digging supplies (bucket, bag, spade/scoop). There are restrooms here. A splash pad/water area. Trails. A restaurant that was closed by the time we got there. Picnic tables and shaded areas outside the crater. Plenty of parking.
It was a tad disappointing that they close down at 4:00 p.m. We had a long drive, and got there later than expected. We would have liked to stay another few hours, but we're pretty happy with what we found in our time there.
Well worth visiting! We'll go back again (hopefully much earlier in the day) next time we're in the area.
There are several Pokestops and gyms here.

Very nicely laid out. Our first time, and didn't have much time so went through with only our hands to dig. Some brought beach wagons, recommended if can. A sturdy small shovel or small garden tools recommended. Some sort of sifting, like a beach perforated bucket. You can rent the tools there. Plenty of rinsing stations in the field (don't rinse rocks at the exit showers, that's a no no) Very informative stations and staff at the entrance pavilion. Nice!

Very clean and nice park. Five star for the bathrooms in the camp grounds. The most clean and convenient bathrooms from all kind of parks I ever visited so far. I never forget my boy thrown up right away when opened the bathroom door in one of the famous national parks when he was little. Camped two nights and dig one day for diamond there. Though didn’t get luck but had so much fun there. The raccoon 🦝 stolen our whole bag of 🥜 at night and came back the next day to finish the leftover and eat half of our neighbors lunch :-) Will definitely come back again, for diamond and fun!

This is a neat park. The RV park looks nice and clean. The check in for the park is at the visitor center which is not ideal for large rigs due to the tighter turn around you have to do. The diamond mine is cool and is worth doing at least once. They also have a small little water park.
Cell reception is horrible for T-mobile. Verizon was fine though.

This has been on my bucket list for a number of years. I can now cross it off.
We had fun, even though we didn't find anything of consequence.
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, and footwear. Don't forget sunscreen, and a ball cap or visor to keep the sun out of your eyes. You can rent tools from the facility, though I do recommend bringing plastic baggies for your finds.

Enjoyed our visit to the diamond field. For an entrance fee we hunted for diamonds all day, either by looking for them on the surface of the ground or digging then sifting the dirt to expose them. Tools are available the park and in town to rent if you don’t have your own. Unfortunately we didn’t find any diamonds but others did. Rangers are on site to look at and identify the stones you collect. It was fun and relaxing just exploring the field and hunting. Maybe we’ll have better luck on our next visit!

I usually give out 5 stars like candy, but I was not impressed with this place. I can at least say I did it, but not something I would do again.
It’s $12 to be able to dig. You then have to rent equipment if you don’t have your own. I knew this from reading other reviews, but I didn’t realize you don’t get everything back. I rented the basic equipment and it was $60 with $45 refundable. So $27 to try to find a diamond.
I see other reviews about not going when it’s too hot, I would also recommend not going when it’s too cold. The ground was wet from rain 3 days ago and my fingers went numb quickly.
I just don’t really see the appeal but there were people there who clearly go often, so I recommend trying it and seeing which side you land on.

Such a fun experience digging for diamonds.
Our family spent hours and came up with some interesting rocks, lots of quartz, & a peridot. Overall a fun time.
We camped there as well and the facilities were great! Wish they had a laundry facility because you do get dirty.

I love coming to this park. Even though I still have not found a diamond there is still nice stones and Jasper to collect. It’s a great way to spend the day. The women who work in the shop are incredibly kind. I love that they have an area to wash all the mud off your shoes and tools. The mud here is very sticky. It’s interesting how when dirt changes all over the park. Some has lots of small pretty colored rocks, some looks super volcanic and another section is super white sand. The water stations makes sifting much easier. Big clean bathrooms was nice too.

Amazing! I went with my family and it was so very fun! If I can, I would love to come back here someday. It is about 15 dollars per person to get in, cheap! Rentals were not too expensive, ot will sound like a lot, but you get most back when you return the tools. But wear clothes you're ok with getting dirty! It's a dirty activity, but very fun.

A big deep plowed field you can explore for precious stones for a reasonable fee. You can walk, dig, or wet pan sand for a fortune. Bring (unless you want to rent them) a shovel, sifters, chairs, and a cart that can traverse dirt and mud. Pets are welcome on a leash. There are plenty of amenities and the employees are nice. There is a small gift shop, equipment rental, stone identification desk, clean restrooms, and a food truck. It's a good place to bring young kids who love dirt and geology or need to get some energy out. It was 80 degrees and overcast when we went. That's as warm as I could handle digging in the field. There is a water park, but it wasn't open (call if you want to get open information). I highly recommend visiting, it's worth the drive. We even saw a marriage proposal (pics and video).

People seem to be all in or totally unimpressed. Some people bring the works, wagons, sifters, buckets, pop up tents, shovels, and mine like it's their job. Others bring or rent a few things and give it the old modest effort. We found absolutely nothing of interest. Neat experience, won't repeat.

We enjoyed the hike and state park. The hiking path on one side was nicely paved. The way back has an awesome nature trail with great picture opportunities. We took more time on the way back and noticed all the trees, flora, water, etc. The campground and diamond digging experience is something to do at the park.
Monique Ramos — Google review
In my opinion, SKIP IT, it's a complete waste of time and the experience isn't even fun. Just to put it into perspective, between 1972 and 2023, you have a 0.76% chance of finding a diamond, which are generally the size of a pinhole, and only 0.02% chance of one over 1 carat, and this includes all the professional diamond hunters, locals and youtubers who spend countless hours searching. So you would think, I just want to do it for the experience, well that's not fun either, it's a lot of work with likely no reward. Best bet if you must go, go take your pics waste $15 per person, search for a few minutes in the dirt and sun and then go do something more productive with your day. My suggestion is to go an hour away from here to the crystal mines on Mount Ida where you can actually have a fun experience and not leave empty handed.
We has so much fun here!!! Learning about the different periods they lived through and then getting to dig for crystals and arrowheads. I highly recommend getting the any of the buckets you can choose from! Grandkids had a blast going through their buckets and finding all the goodies in there. And the staff, 2 young men were phenomenal!!! They were so nice and helpful and we really appreciate it.

This is a really cool place to get some lessons about history. Mound complexes with pottery jars, skeletal remains, tools and pipes. There's alot of other things left behind from over 1,000 years ago. In the gift shop you can buy drums, moccasins, bows and arrows, gems, chrystals, arrowheads and other hand made items. You can also dig for gems and arrowheads and keep what you find. Definitely a great place to stop and take a look.

Cute little museum off the beaten path. Crater of diamonds was too busy so we took a detour and we did not regret it! The staff were nice and welcoming. The kids had fun digging and we had a great time viewing the beautiful gems and rock collection they had.

This is a wonderful place to visit to learn about local Native American history. They have some terrific options for finding your own gems or for sifting through buckets where they already include gems, arrowheads, and a tiny diamond. My daughter was so happy to go through a bucket, and the history is fascinating.

We had a nice time here checking out the Indian burial grounds and museum. Only thing I wish we would have picked a cooler day to dig for minerals and arrowheads. They also have a Metal detection area that is neat for find artifacts. The gift shop has lots of neat gifts as well . All and all its a good place to visit if your into natural Indian history

It is a fun place to spend time with family. The museum or arrowheads and other historical facts and items were educational. I never knew how many arrowheads there were. The history and details, including regional differences were well researched. The digging was fun. I also liked the history and display of the Indian mounds.

Very friendly employees, more than willing to help. Everything was explained in detail, and so much to do! My son and I purchased one of the buckets, and we found plenty of arrowheads, shark teeth, and a small diamond! You can go on a tour, and they even offer metal detectors to find things. This place is definitely worth a visit!

Went a couple years ago. We definitely look forward to going again. Loved digging for rocks, arrowheads, and pottery. We did buy a bucket for $100 to wash in the sloosh outside. Well worth it. Nice looking arrowheads, shark teeth, different stones, pottery, and fossils. Fun for all ages.

For the price of admittance, it was pretty cool. There are three main burial mounds areas which you could easily work through in about twenty minutes. It was neat seeing the skeletons!
The kids walked through the museum area in about 7 minutes, but they weren't very interested in ancient pottery and tools.
I personally had no interest in digging in the dirt or metal detecting after 2.5 days at the diamond mines, so we didn't do that for long.
Honestly, the shop was the coolest part, side from seeing the skeletons in the burial mounds. My wife grabbed some cut quartz earrings (much cheaper than diamonds and just as pretty), and the kids got some rock candy and trinkets. They have tons of gems and stones for sale.
I really wish we would have come here before the diamond mines so we would have had a better idea of what to look for when we were sifting through all of our material. They have some of the diamonds found from the mine on display.

We stopped here during our Murfreesboro vacation. Very interesting history to learn about and museum to walk through with the historic mounds outside.
We spent about an hour searching the field they have. We were able to find some cool things. Tons of tiny crystals and colorful rocks. We were even able to find 6 arrow heads out in the field.
Of course we did the Gemstone Adventure. With a medium sized bucket the kids were able to find plenty of polished gemstones and handful of shark teeth. The shop also has tons of treasures to buy before you leave.
It was a nice stop for the kids to be able to actually find something searching through the dirt.

It's a fun little place, probably more fun if you have little kids. My son is 11 and we didn't spend much time here. Most everything in the store is commercialized/made in China type stuff. Lots of fake items...but some neat stuff. The museum was ok, needs to be updated or just cleaned up a little. The guy at the counter was super nice and very knowledgeable. If you're in town I do recommend stopping, just to check it out!

The tour was very informative. The workers seemed like they enjoyed their job. I actually visited the Clinton Library in Little Rock the day before. There are a few differences in the information being put out. I arrived after the start of the last tour. The park ranger/tour guide gave me a tour anyway. I would recommend visiting. It's free.

Small gift shop. Many of the displays are placards of President Clinton and his family. We saw the inside of his birth home. The first floor consists of three rooms and no original furniture. The only item from his early childhood is a child's book which I didn't get to see. The Rangers were nice though.

Don't judge a book by its cover. The visitor centre is tiny, but there is a never better place to learn about the early life of President Clinton. Highly recommend to start with the introductory video followed by an in-depth tour delivered by a ranger. The president lost his biological dad to a car accident and this is how he later inherited the family name Clinton from his step-dad. The care and love he received has determined his character, with an inclusive grandfather in the segregated era, and a hard-working mother. Most of the items in his birthplace house are not the originals, but from the time. I like the number cards which reflect how important his grandmother consider education is.

Gained a lot more appreciation. These park services are amazing. The site needs more funding to match the National Park standards we've come to highly appreciate as of March 2024. The staff made it engaging and meaningful. The visitor center and bathrooms have ramps. There's a fairly big rectangle parking lot for RVs.

Surprisingly a lot more fun than I first expected but, you must take a tour with a park ranger. Especially to get a tour of the house the actual childhood home. The visitor center is just a random home adjacent the property. Thank you Ranger Cody, he did an amazing job showing us around and was able to answer all my questions.

This place is SMALL. like most suburban he would have more room and yardage. But the tour was amazing!!! Our tour guide was local.to the area, so it was literally listening to someone who grew up in the area during the time the Bill lived here. Absolutely worth the stop just to listen to her. The house is restored to period and if you tmhave a thing for vintage living this is also a great place to peek around at wallpaper, decor, layout, etc. Not really worth a trip on its own, this is a great place to stop on a road trip or if your going to be spending the day in Hope.

June 11, 2017: A small place but packed with information. I visited during the week and there were just a handful of people there but it is located in the town so it was a little confusing for maybe 3 minutes on where to park. The grounds were very well kept, very pretty. The Park staff were very knowledgeable. I walked around the home and grounds. I found it interesting that there were several things dedicated to his mother but not much of anything dedicated to his wife. Maybe because it was his birth home.

We took several family pictures here.
Main draw for us was just the state line photo opportunity - we didn't go inside because we went when it was closed.
We went on a Sunday morning. It was easy to park and easy to take several pictures. One couple stopped while we were there and we took pictures of each others family. But other than that it was relatively vacant.
There was another memorial around the corner (easy walking distance) and across the street; that had Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana State Flags all together.
And a neat old church across from the postoffice - St. James Church. I don't know anything about it - but it looked neat from the outside.
Also a confed monument when we went over by the church.

The casino Louisiana Downs is a popular horse racing track and casino in Bossier City, Louisiana. With 1,300 slot machines placed throughout the facility, it is one of the most popular places to gamble in the area. The Casino also features a restaurant and bar as well as free cocktails and coffee for visitors.
I've been going to the Downs for 5 or more Summers now, I really enjoy it and can hit about every race now too. It does not take long to figure out how to bet, when and on what horse! Try it out, you won't be sorry. There are a wide selection of eateries as well beer and mixed drinks at the bars too. Enjoy!

Casinos are not my thing but the horse racing section was cool to look at. Heavy smell of cigarettes, even when going very early and not many people there, if they had a no smoking gaming section I might have stayed longer but after 30 minutes the smell was killing me :-(

Their new restaurant, The Inside Rail, was very good. The 'Touchdown Platter' appetizer was 9 out of 10 only because the meat pies were more on the bland side. The boudin egg rolls were good, and the chicken tenders were amazing and seasoned to perfection! Of course, one has to try the wings, so we ordered the sweet and sour wings. The sauce was really good. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was good, but I would get extra sauce next time. The burger was good as well. For dessert, I opted for the bread pudding, something I don't normally eat, but it was really good as I ate half of it, lol. Overall, I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. I had a gift certificate for my birthday and spent every penny of the $75.

This casino's business model is clear, Pay absolutely nothing out at all costs, That explains why on a Friday night they have 50 people playing. I was told it was a "busy" night 🤣😅 Save your money go on to far nicer casinos just to the west. To the "New" owners (So they said) loosen up your machines , people who can at least play for a while have fun and comeback.

They really don't have enough help to keep the place clean the machines were dirty and the bathrooms were dirty you really couldn't win much on the machines at the low side of the betting play. This casino is a slum . Service is a joke . Machines are always broken. Food is so low quality but at 5star prices. Spend thousands a week but never receive any promotions . They give free coffee as your reward but coffee shop is never opened. It's not safe shady looking men will follow you to every machine and security does not care to ask them to leave clearly they aren't playing. They have one cocktail server on weekends cash machines are always out of cash. The employees are beyond rude. Not all some are great. The owner is a slumlord because he won't try to improve this casino. He took a decent place an made it a trashy lowgrade unsafe casino. Security is geriatric some use actual walkers . Stay away from here at night It's not worth being followed by schetchy people . Should be a law that police have to be employed at casino at night .I've been gambling there for many many years . And your casino doesn't give anyone anything no freeplay but maybe 2-4 times a month if you're lucky an then it's 5 bucks. I play highlimits 10 a spin most times . I never get anything from casino so I don't bother with a card anymore it's not worth using it anymore. Food is a joke I watched them throw a customers foor back in fried after customer had it at table health hazard 100%. Employees most are unfriendly, just rude. I know and have good relationships with the friendly ones. Bathroom attendees are hiding in there on phone and bathrooms are out of paper ,dirty sad.and the shady men following women around never playing any machine . Waiting to snatch something. Heck 2 security bosses are amazing one is the lady who has since been changed back to her normal shift. And the man who's been security at casinos since day one in 94 /96 . Small Frame always saying hello helping customers . The rest are a joke pretty much. So don't blow smoke . You don't give 2 cents about casino you've been there what 3 maybe 4 times only because gaming board had issues. You play no music it's quiet people want music fun, energy being a dealer since 96 customers want friendly service. They are giving hard earned money and want to be treated like they pay your bills . After all they do to a point. Comp your loyal customers. And when u have drawings it's always the people who don't gamble just drink an wait to win drawing and it's always one not the actual gamblers . We go to a good casino now where they show thanks

This place is horrible, the comps are next to none, they don't have a bar, they hardly have any one serving drinks, you might as well throw you money in the trash can if you decide to gamble here. And to top it off they closed the truck parking, which is a very big no no ,truck drivers are the backbone of America why would you not offer them a place to rest and maybe have a little fun. I don't advise anyone to go here, it would be best to let this place die away,IT,,,IS,,,,HORRIBLE.

Went in to play a few slots, watch some football, eat, and drink some beers. Well the slots went OK but the machine that cashes your ticket out doesn't dispense coins, that's old fashioned. Sat down at the sportsbar. Cassandra brought me a beer and a menu. Football starts and I can view 8 televisions so I should have many game options. Nope! They only have 1 game available to watch. I was shocked. This place is a casino, horse racing track, a sportsbook, but they only have access to 1 football game. Unbelievable! Ordered food which was alright. Cassandra was awesome but the management needs to figure things out.

Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets is an outdoor mall located near the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana. It features a variety of retailers, including Bass Pro Shops and other informal restaurants, as well as a cinema.
It was absolutely beautiful here, I came here one in the day and once in the night. During the night, the lights of Shreveport reflected onto the Red River and it was absolutely stunning. I went to this cool soda shop and got a Ramune soda, my favorite part had to be the bridge going over the outlets, it was very pretty. Next time I’m the Bossier/Shreveport area I will be visiting again. There were string lights, plants, and a beautiful fountain in the center of the boardwalk’s attention.

This is my second time visiting this place, while traveling cross country, and I can tell you that the first time I was here I enjoyed it much more than this trip. There was much more enjoyment, and there was more people in the boardwalk. I actually didn’t wanna leave, however well visiting this trip I felt like I was the only one in the boardwalk, the streets and stores were empty and there was only a few a few stores open And out of those few stores that are opened the majority of them were racist towards me and they also lacked the variety of options or so. The employees told me that they didn’t have anything available.

I enjoy the beautiful views at night while walking, I just wish they had better parking. There is plenty of retailers to choose from, but I suggest the candy shop (great selection of saltwater taffy and various flavored sodas, including a wide variety of not-so-common rootbeers). Bass Pro Shop is always awesome- stop by and check out the live alligators directly in front of the store. (Yes, they are in an enclosure). Not to worry, if you find yourself getting hungry- Saltgrass is stationed on the point, overlooking the Red River along with other choice dining options availableas well. Got an itch for some gaming? Margaritaville Resort and Casino hosts this entire compex- located on the the same property. You will discover breath-taking views from the casino resort rooms, along with plenty of fun and dining options located on the ground floor. (The shrimp pasta and short rib are my personal favorites at Dragos). I definitely recommend visiting, whether you're a local, or an out-of-towner. It's just good fun, with something for the whole family.

Place is nice to have a walk, most stores were closed early. Missing energy. The view of the River/Bridge is nice, but nothing else to do. For a small city, it's ok. There are bunch of restaurants but nothing special. Hooters, 3 Amigos and other local businesses. Sushi restaurant was surprisingly good. Good place for Sushi

I love to just go there and take pictures and see the river and just chill out n look at all the neat buildings on both sides of the river.

I was excited to arrive during my first visit. Firstly, the alligators caught my attention, followed by the restaurants. There were a lot of cars in parking spaces, but I didn't see a lot of foot traffic. Secondly, several stores were vacant. Therefore, outlet very good for walking, but not enough stores for shopping.

Interesting place to see. Great number of shops to visit. You can also take trolly. We didn't see it, but the tracks are there. You can also see the river. It is connected to Bass Pro Shop. It is near all the casinos.

Nice little area with shops, food and close to casinos. I was warned not to be out passed 10pm/dusk as crime can be a problem. The area is in need of more shops and I was told that the shops the come typically do not stay long. If you are in the area looking for something it is worth the trip to go down to the boardwalk. My favorite store was Bass Pro Shops which was having some good sale items at the time.
The Margaritaville Resort Casino is a casino hotel with an island vibe located on the north side of the Louisiana Boardwalk. It offers gaming, sportsbook, and dining options.
Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your room. This website will compare thousands of booking web sites and typically will have rooms much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it.
I had the absolute best time. I loved the room. The river walk was my favorite part, it's so beautiful. The casino itself is beautiful. Well definitely stay again.

I loved it here! Reminded so much of when I went to Vegas. Very friendly staff and very clean. Great view of the Red River and Shreveport's Lighted Bridge. It has great restaurants to choose from and a Boardwalk to walk by the river. Great place to take pictures.

Only for nose blind folks!!! WARNING to asthmatics!!! Both of us got lung issues walking through. Absolutely gagged walking through the main floor. Disappointed that the restaurant we went to a year ago has been replaced with a different one. (Not our style). I've been here before and that experience was NOTHING like today's. Simply horrendously smelly and disappointing.

I base my reviews on value. I didn't see it here. The room had trash still in it when we arrived. It smelled of weed and smoke. Several furnishings were ripped or broken. The bed was comfortable, but at $300 a night plus a resort fee..... shabby. The service was abysmal. I was ignored twice at the poolside bar, each time for 20 minutes without even a glance. I didn't even have a chance to get the bartenders attention. She was very focused on one group of 6 and had no time for the other side of the bar. I did enjoy the over 21 after 6 pool experience. The casino didn't offer anything special, just the same games that can be found at the other 5 local options. It was nice to have them all on one level, but the surly doormen and floor attendants quickly killed any good vibes. I might return for the pool if they were running a super cheep special, but I won't again pay 4 star prices for 2 star service.

Just average, not special or exciting as a resort.
The seemingly Above Average Room had a massive flaw.* that took away the stars.
The room was clean, had 2 trash cans, great lighting, with a individual room thermostat that worked. The large bathroom; a nice roomy walk-in shower complete with soft fluffy towels.
*BUT -the Mattress Was Worn-Out to the point (on both sides) that this 120 pound woman sunk way down into the old memory foam? and felt like she had hit the true bottom. Climbing out was near impossible. Despite the extra pillows,( requested ahead on booking ) it was a truly miserable cut short night's sleep. Definitely cramped up an otherwise nice room to be scored a big zero.
While waiting for Valet, overheard another couple discussing the SAME issue with a nice room but a HORRIBLE bed.
No, experience did not have me seeking Management, the Spa or in the Casino when not able to sleep.
We checked out early.

Stayed here while in town for work. An overall nice hotel. The casino was fun, too. The staff was very kind, courteous, and professional. My husband and I enjoyed our time here. Variety of food options on the property, so literally not having to leave was fantastic after a 6 hour drive. We will be coming back for sure. Oh and the internet speed was amazing!!

Was so excited to have Dragos come to bossier. Planned trip to enjoy a dinner there last Tuesday changed hours only to find they changed hours. Only no longer open on Tuesdays.
A five star place but only open half week. Weekends too busy. Back to Oyster Bar for my seafood fix.

Usually a great experience when we visit. However, these past few times, it seemed more and more machines were down. I also would like to see more of the Lightning Link games. The four along the back wall are always taken. I have even seen players playing two machines during peak times.

I really enjoyed my visit at the resort. It was soooo good to be back in Louisiana. The casino was nice with a variety of games. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy. I'm still going to give it 5 stars although there was no microwaves in the rooms. Everything else was excellent 👌🏾.

Room was nice, checking was good. Waitresses sucked. I observed waitresses at the bar getting orders filled. All of em just standing there lolly gagging including the bar tender. While playing I was able to get a drink every 75 minutes. I even looked for waitresses bit couldn't find any, cause they were all at the bar. They would take like 2 orders at a time. Glad I don't come here at all. Only reason we stayed here was for a Dr's appointment. Never again. I'll bring my own beer and go to the room for a refill. It'll be much much faster than your waitresses.

Great Service from the front desk. The Woman behind counter was courteous, and made the transaction easy. I got there to meet my date and you know. I tell you these dating apps are great for a romp. What happen to the times i don't know, but i don't think anyone is looking for a relationship anymore lol. The company was great for the 1 1/2 she stayed, and i was kinda thinking she wanted me to buy dinner or something. So I had to play the "Pick N Roll" on her. You know the ole "Pick her up, and sent her home!" Shower was good and spacious. Overall the place was great, the sleep was great, and the Pick N Roll worked to perfection. Thank you Margaritaville the stay was great. I would recommend this hotel 10/10..

It wasn't a terrible experience, but it definitely could've been better. The biggest issue that my family and I had was that housekeeping was not great. We had to go down to the lobby not once but THREE times (over the span of about 3 hours) just to have housekeeping notified that we were requesting more towels. For there being 4 of us, two towels are definitely not enough. If the phone in the room would've been working, that might've helped, so we wouldn't have to keep going back down to the lobby. The crazy part is that housekeeping was only a few doors down from us, so not sure what the holdup was. It shouldn't take 3 hours for extra towels to be sent to the room.
Secondly, in the casino, while playing at one of the machines, it just turned off with no warning. I asked security (since they were the closest) if they could notify someone to come to my game and they tried to make it seem like that happening was normal. Not sure how it's normal for a game to cut off in the middle of playing, but whatever. The lady that ended up coming to check out what was wrong barely said two words to me. After that, I didn't spend another dime in the casino. I've had better service at other casinos.

Our room was very nice and had a great view of the river. The casino is starting to need some updating, it still has lots of the older machines but if that is what you like then that is a good thing. The boardwalk is very nice and clean with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. All the staff we encounterd were all very nice. We didn't win any money but had a great time on our two day getaway.

This was a nice place to visit. The rooms were nice and clean, and the view of the red river was nice. Also you could see the city of Shreveport right across the river. They did have a few food places inside, food was a little on the spicy side but good. The service was very friendly and polite. The slots a d table games had a good verity and you can actually win here. Overall Great place to go also kid friendly and you can bring your pets.

Terrible for the price. Vegas last year was cheaper, including the flights. I’ll just start at the beginning. When we checked in we were charged more than quoted on the phone, or what the email reflected. We got to our room, which was great, but NO housekeeping service-dirty towels/trash/soap and tp replenishing was non existent. We even called to get housekeeping, and still had to find a guy with a cart to get clean towels. So, our trash piled up in our room, ran out of hand soap in the bathroom, and almost the toilet paper. Never seen such thin toilet paper in my life. The view was great from the room but for the price wasn’t worth it. Morale seemed very low in the casino. We ended up going to Horseshoe and the casino actually looked like a casino. BEAUTIFUL! Horseshoe has great food, a real bar, great music, high morale. The staff there was great! Anyways, we had booked our room at Margaritaville for 3 nights so just went there to sleep on their hard, uncomfortable bed. On a good note, the coffee bar & service there was great. At checkout there’s only 1 baggage cart. Crazy! So with all the luggage we had we had to wait for 45 minutes just to leave. Eric, the manager was helpful by adjusting our room rate to reflect what we were quoted. Still ends up higher than Vegas. We even saw him taking towels to a room. Hard worker, but he’s not supposed to be doing that. What’s really going on here?
Overall, the hotels not very accommodating or considerate of people’s needs when it comes to common and basic needs of hotel guests. Will not be going back, ever. Oh and in case anyone is wondering, there are NO buffets at any of the casinos here. LAME!

The rooms are some of the best in the city! If you get a room on the top floor with the bathtub, it's amazing. You have a double balcony and a dining table that seats 8. The place is not bad. I will say, $350 for a weekend night is a bit ridiculous and completely not worth the price.
The room was a good size. The bed and pillows were comfortable.
The minimum bet of the tables seemed a bit high. There are way too many penny slots.
The store onsite is closed which was highly inconvenient. Not all the restaurants are open.
It is pretty close to the boardwalk shops which is nice. You could walk to them if you wanted, but the parking lots are connected so I would recommend just driving over.
They do have free valet parking but we could not find a valet when we needed to park so we ended up parking ourselves each time.
It is also pretty close to downtown.
Overall, given the weekend price, I'd say it's not worth the price and would recommend staying elsewhere.

So our 4 night vacation started off bad. They put us in a broken room 1008, electrical outlet hanging out of wall with exposed wires, fridge did not work, ceiling fan broken, phone headset broken, coffee maker broken, shower handle fell off and ac unit had high pitched squeal. Then we asked to be moved, they sent up a very rude maintenance person, who wanted to fix it while we were in the room and told us they won't move our room. Finally after talking to manager they gave us a new room 3 doors down, wouldn't you know it, they took the broken coffee maker and changed it with that room we were moved to, so we had to get the good one back. Ther electrical outlet behind nightstand hanging out(just ignored that) in the new room. No compensation offered all.
The rooms either has mold or something allergens every morning wake up sneezing and stuffy, after a few hours from room it would clear up.
BRING YOUR OWN TOILETRIES!! They have used soaps and shampoos in large bottles that are gooped up a d could be tampered with toilet paper is sandpaper. Over chlorinated water will leaves skin red and burning.
Decided to go to gym, our keys never worked, hotel desk said they should and didn't offer to validate. OK let's use the hot tub, ice cold!!! and no controls and dirty.
Only have free valet on weekends, trying to get car keys took an hour ask front desk had to wait for security. The front driveway was being repainted.
The outside hotel can use a powerwash with all the spiderweb and bugs stuck to walls.
Ordered a club sandwich and they burnt the cursaunt. Rest of food eh just ok
Half the casino was being remodeled, could not play all games, high roller slots room closed for some reason.
Room service was closed, this being a Vegas owned casino payouts were very limited if any, always better payouts at indian owned casinos. The atmosphere on the casino floor was fun, casino workers, and cleaning staff friendly.
Don't think we will return due to the issues we had from the first few hours.
2 stars was based on hotel staff and management. Casino was fun.
FYI kiosk machine round down so take your tickets to cashier cage.

I visited the casino 🎰 on a Sunday evening. Nice clean casino. I didn't stay overnight to experience the rooms. Staff was friendly. They had plenty of spots open on the tables. A nice selection of slots to choose from. I had the best luck playing the $1 slots. The Baboo Asian restaurant inside the hotel had good food .

The casino is great with a selection of slots and the staff was very nice but we were staying here for my moms early surgery just like we do every time she has to go in. It’s kind of a ritual to stay here at this point. And this time we had some issues. The room next to use was throwing a very loud party. And we were not the only ones to notice. Our room was at the end of the hall and the “party room” was right past ours at the very end of the hall on the same side. We complained about the loud noise but just wanted a different room… we didn’t get a new room but the front desk lady did call them, which did not help. They started partying very loudly again and we went down again to complain and at this point multiple people were complaining as you could hear them screaming and the music at the elevators. We yet again asked for a different room but she informed us they did not have a room to give us. But she followed us up stairs and let us get back into the room before knocking on their door and giving them a final warning or they would be removed from the premises. At this point we just said whatever we will let everyone else complain and sure enough they didn’t quite down. Finally got quite around 12 at night and we left our room at 5 am. We will be staying again because of how nice it is and we really do enjoy this hotel but I am highly disappointed with our stay this particular time.

Stayed at this location multiple times and have had a good time from food to room quality.
The only downside this year is that the check-in staff didn’t tell me there was a master light switch so I thought some of the light bulbs were broken.
There needs to be improved communication from the staff and hotel guests.

Wow. This place has went downhill. Everything from the staff to the establishment. We were very disappointed. Every year we stopped through here on our way to vacation and on our way back as welland spend tons of money. Booked our reservation for six and was guaranteed a two Queen suite with a balcony view as usual. When arriving to the property early around 4:30 in the afternoon after confirming the room we were told our room would not be available for at least the next hour and a half to 2 hours. 3 1/2 hours later when finally walking into our room there were only two beds in no balcony. Knowing there's no way this room could accommodate us all we went back down to the office to let them know about the mix-up. The staff sat there after previously confirming our room was the one we reserved blatantly lied to our faces and said they're not allowed to book the specific room that we reserved . On top of that moved us to an even smaller one king room. After the third time going down to the office explaining the situation politely the staff treated us as if we were the ones that did something wrong. After 45 minutes of arguing back and forth over the situation I decided to go to the VIP office and talk to a gentleman there about the situation. They were not accommodating either but when it was all said and done they finally offered us the room that we were originally comped at a ridiculous amount. Over 500 bucks a night on a Wednesday. Knowing that we had nowhere else to go and had to take the deal. Finally getting to the proper room after having to pay even more for our stay the room wasn't even cleaned. They were dirty underwear beside the bed trash out in the bins and on the floor and stunk like sour milk. Needless to say we will never be coming back here again unless compensated for such a horrible experience. It was one of the most embarrassing things we've ever witnessed at this establishment. Oh we were also scheduled to stay on our way back as well and promise the exact same room don't think that's going to happen not even going to chance it fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on you.

This should be a wonderful place to visit, but it is overrun with crime. My wife and I left the hotel without staying a single night. Fortunately the clerk refunded our money without issue but it didn’t appear this was the first time she had done this. I was disappointed with the city a whole. I ate at a great restaurant but had to drive through the hood to get there. Upon arriving back at the hotel I was greeted by a drug dealer and his friends who had an overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from them and they were clearly blitzed out of their minds as they we just standing in front of the elevator hoping it would show up. I moved around them and pressed the call button. When the elevator arrived we were lucky to have two arrive so we didn’t have to ride with them. No one to include security appeared to care they had copious amounts of marijuana on them. We made it to our room and where someone repeatedly knocked on our door until I answered it. Fortunately I left the door catch secured as it appeared it was a setup to get in our room. At this point my wife felt extremely uncomfortable and we decided it was time to go. This is not the caliber I expect from the Margaritaville Hotel brand as the one I stayed at in TN was very nice. They need to clean this hotel up or remove their branding from it.

We did not have a good experience gambling here. No one was able to help us activate our play card even when all information was correct. The attendants said that there was nothing they could do. I didn’t like gambling in cash or having to pay the atm fee. The room was clean but wasn’t much for $200. They say that you save up to 30% for being a first responder but when we saw the receipt, it was the same price as a normal room. No free breakfast and not very welcoming. Even when you are gambling, no one was walking around taking free drink orders. We sat at the bar and paid for a couple drinks. The only good thing about the whole experience was the nice man at the bar who made us some amazing drinks. They were very over priced at $10 for a small drink but they tasted great.

If you're looking for a "high class" hotel experience then don't stay here. The room we stayed in #819 was very dated. No USB plugs like most hotels have. The ceiling fan looks like it could fall at any minute. The room was clean. The bed was not too uncomfortable. I forgot to take pictures. But if I'm going to spend the money to stay at a casino hotel I'll stay at the Horseshoe.

Had no issues with arrival. But at 6:30 this morning they decided to test the fire alarm, woke up the whole building and then turned off the power for 30 minutes to the whole floor
After the power came back on, most things still were not working. TV was down. Electronic menus and casinos were down
I understand maintenance is important. What kills me is none of- and I mean NONE - of the employees acknowledged the inconvenience it caused. They all acted like it was my fault and made me feel very unwelcome
Even the guy at the cafe downstairs, their electronic menu was down, so I asked what coffee options they had, he seemed extremely bothered by it, like was asking for a for a free 5-star meal
Definitely won’t be back

My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay a great deal. Our room was very nice with a good view of the river. I thought their room pricing was fair in this era of hotel price gouging. Love the tropical vibes and valet staff. Front desk is only there to check you in nothing else. When asking for extra towels they told us it was laundry day and we would need to seek out housekeeping on the 3rd floor. The pool is gorgeous but expect to see one adult with 5-6 kids who may be in jeans or shorts. No swim dress code enforced. It’s like an unsupervised community swimming pool. DJ is phenomenal yet this is not a place adults can relax unless you don’t mind a hot rub and pool full of kids. Jimmy’s steak house is great and Drago’s a close second with poor interior design. I won’t be coming back and will return to Horeshoe Casino.

I stayed for my Birthday Weekend. I know nothing is free, buttt I didn’t receive anything complimentary what so ever. Since it was a weekend, the room was over 200$ for one night. Their was a fake eyelash just laying in the open, like come on, they HAD to see that if they Actually cleaned it. The ladies serving drinks were so rude. Me being the kind of person I am, I always tip. One lady even poked a whole in the bottom of my cup, and it leaked All over me. The only people at the Hotel/Casino were pretty much the cleaning people. They were so nice, and friendly, very helpful when I did need something brought to my Room!!! The lady that checks your ID at the Casino Entrance, is the Rudest of them All!!! I honestly will never be back there because of her look and attitude. It cost nothing to smile and be nice. So yeah they need help here!

The first thing we encountered when pulling up to the Valet area was an overflowing trash can with trash on the ground beside it. Not a great first impression.
Check in was good but it took them 3 tries (with me going up to the room and back down) to get my key cards correct.
Our room was fine - just dated. Could use some upgrading.
The gaming floor was O.K., beverage service was slow because they are understaffed. There were a lot of people sitting in the chairs in front of slot machines not gambling. Just taking up space.
Lots of newer slot machines - we actually came home with money.
The broken escalators put a strain on the one elevator.
The band playing Saturday night, The Crowd, was fantastic.
All in all, a great trip.

I wish 0 stars was an option… considering we weren’t even able to stay here! We were basically kicked out with NO HELP & blatant disrespect from the front desk guy. It was 1AM and the room was paid for in advance over the phone with the reservations department. The lady told us there would be a hold on the card we used to pay, but never once mentioned that we would need to present this card at check in with an ID that matches & that person had to physically be there. My husband and I are aware of protocols, however, we were using my mom’s card for our hotel & we did have a picture of her ID. It would’ve been nice if we were told this before we drove 7 hrs to stay here. It also would’ve been nice if the guy at the front desk could’ve offered us options and helped us out, but we were given absolutely no information. We had to ask him if we were going to be refunded and his response was “Yep”. ABSOLUTELY no respect. We had to continue driving an hour to a hotel in TX, while exhausted from driving all day. The hotel in TX saved us and went above and beyond to offer ways for my mom to send in a credit card authorization form + a picture of her ID. It was as simple as that. I guess everything really is bigger + better in TX… employee’s respect toward customers + going above and beyond to help others out goes a long way! I DON’T RECOMMEND HORSESHOE HOTEL AT ALL!!

The hotel room was nice. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite when we checked-in. All of the staff we talked with were extremely friendly. There is a pizza place that has the best brick oven pizza. The slot machines don't pay out if you are looking to win. We ended up going to another casino to play and won money there. A real mix. Rooms are very tired. Steakhouse is exceptional. Seafood restaurant is unforgivably bad serving raw or overcooked but never right. Cooks are rude. Ashley is the one shining star. Customer facing employees like dealers and front desk staff are loud, dismissive, rude, and inattentive but cleaning and security staff are very nice. Overall it's not worth visiting if you have other options. And let's not talk about the daily resort fee. For what?? This isn't a resort by any stretch and what they do have you must pay for, so again, for what?

I went here New Years Eve. I had a BBQ pork grilled cheese sandwich with fries and a couple of Bud Lights at the grill and bar across the corridor from the noodle place. It was spectacular! And the waitress was very nice and took great care of me. I left her a big tip and then went straight to the casino! I wandered around for about an hour before landing at a high card flush table. I was new to this game, but it was very easy to learn. After a couple of hours of playing the dealer dealt me a hand of 6 clubs out of the 7 cards I was dealt! That landed me $550!! Later in the evening I found a $1 slot machine i wanted to try. And BAM!! Another $180!! I walked out of the Horseshoe that night with a little over $700!! Happy New Years To Me!!

As someone from the Shreveport-Bossier area I’ve always heard this place was really nice, but I am so disappointed after my stay. The hotel part has definitely gone downhill. The casino part itself is nice and fun with lots of drinks and also restaurants, but the rooms were so bad. They were just gross. The carpet was so sticky in some spots that our shoes would get stuck. There were crumbs and items from the last guests left on the floor. The bathtub was huge and looked so nice.. but had yellow gunk on the rim. It wasn’t staining, it was some sticky liquid that I could wipe off that they obviously didn’t clean. I’ve stayed in beaten up motels off the interstate that had better standards of cleaning than this place. Not worth the price and I would not pay for lodging here again.

Trailer park clientele with chandeliers and marble floors ambience. If you like the smell of cigarette smoke and lukewarm showers, you’ll love the room accommodations. “Round the clock Complimentary” valet provided, unfortunately, I don’t have any compliments there either, due to the fact I had a 7am flight and there was no service at 5:30am, bc the valet slept in…or something.
We won’t be returning.

Come in to cool off and play. Played $200 in an hour. Had to chase wait staff around to get a drink. Out of 4 waitress on the 3rd and 1st floor. They were extremely rude. I'll take my money to a bar and get more for it. And I was tipping $4. It was an act of congress to get even 2 drinks. Standing at ATM going to play some more. When the 3rd waitress was extremely rude again and I just left. Thank you for saving me more money

Still no buffets in casinos here, dang! However, this casino is amazing! We had actually booked our room at Margaritaville for Thanksgiving for 3 nights. What a mistake. We ended up coming here during the day. Horseshoe has great morale, and great music! You can feel a difference in the air. Slots were great. They had 3 floors of slots. A real bar, and great restaurants. I’d recommend this for visitors for sure.

For our very first, and fortunately for us, our last stay at this location, our visit was all but pathetic from start to finish. Upon arrival, our reservation was not shown in the system. We were told that we had to show a confirmation. We showed it and were given a room. We parked in the parking garage and carried and pulled all of our items to the elevator. We were informed that there were no carts for people to use for luggage. Immediately upon arriving at the elevator, we were overwhelmed with the odor of marijuana. We went up to our room and were met with a slightly run down appearance of a room. We then noticed no microwave and no coffee pot and a refrigerator that wasn’t working. Maintenance came and fixed the refrigerator. We unpacked and went to the elevator and again was overwhelmed with the odor of marijuana. We went to the casino and was met with several individuals that appeared to not want to be there. The first was the bartender on the second level. I walked up and was looking around. He and four other coworkers were talking and cutting up. I was asked “is there something you need?” I asked if there was anything frozen. He said “it’s right here” and pointed at the daiquiri machine. I asked if I could have a daiquiri. Without another word, he made one pushed it toward me and turned around and walked away and started talking with the co workers again. We went to play on the machines. We played for over an hour and a half and no one walked around to serve any drinks. The server was one of those at the the bar talking. I went back and asked if I could get another drink. The bartender once again acted as if I was bothering him, stated “no, you need to wait and get served at the machine.” I told him no one was coming and he said “you need to wait.” I walked away. I asked to speak to the supervisor and told her about what was going on. She said she was sorry about what was happening and would have to look at the cameras to confirm my story. After playing, we went back to the elevator and once again was overwhelmed with the odor of marijuana. Every single time during our stay, the elevators and immediate areas smelled very strongly of marijuana. Very sickening. Not once, not twice but every single time. Staff cared less about it as we told them and they said they knew and we were told that nothing could be done. I advised that it was nauseating smelling it. We were told to pick different elevator cars if it bothered us too much. We were here for three days and experienced issues everyday. On top of the ridiculous cost for what you get for staying here, they tack on a $20 per day resort fee. A WHAT? FOR WHAT? Never again will we stay at this location. It did not live up to the name it carries. It was bad!

Be careful they will double charge, and say they don't see the charge, but I just got off the phone with my bank and they have charged $530 extra (i had 2 separate charges). And can't get ahold of anyone who can fix it.
Other than spending $1,169 for 3 nights and a scooter rental. It was great. I hope we can get our money back.

Rooms were very nice. Spacious, clean, quiet. Huge tub and spacious bathroom. Lots of food options in house but being a casino expect $20+ per person. We had the 8oz burger bar that was excellent. Didn't spend much time in the casino side. It van be a bit of a sensory nightmare with the smells, the loud music, and all the things going on but if that doesn't bother you it's a nice place to stay right off i20.

My wife ordered our room online. We paid around$80+. We Horseshoe was our choice as we had stayed there before. This time, we were extremely disappointed. The living area was OK, but she needs an update. The bed!!! Ugh. The mattress has been on the bed for so long that there are body cavities on each side of the bed. I woke up as sore as if I had worked out. The linens were old, with stains and holes in them. I had a very early Dr. appointment at the v.a; so I showered the night before. The bathroom was gross. It did not appear as though it had been thoroughly cleaned in a while. I observed what looked to be tiny mold spots on the grout lines. I rubbed one with a wash cloth, and the spot came off. I hope it wasn't mold. The bathroom floor simply was not clean. I made a towel walkway so my wife could walk to the bathroom. She refused to shower in the tub. I could easily deal with most of the issues but cannot deal with unclean.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Horseshoe last night for our three year anniversary! We had the most amazing night! Our room was perfect and our view was beautiful. Our bed was comfortable, though we weren’t in the room long. The bath tub was huge and the water was nice and hot. We also loved the casino! We spent almost all night down there. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everyone was friendly and helpful(staff and guests)! Thank y’all for the absolute wonderful stay! We can’t wait to come back!!

It's sad when you can visually see the effects of the pandemic even in December of 2022 stores closed, venues not being used. This place should be hopping with liveliness and excitement. I hope you make a comeback. If the machines and tables are full with players then the other parts should have exude the appeal

The room was spacious, and the tub was huge! The water pressure was great! Our room was clean and in good repair. My only complaint was that you could only add two devices to the wifi and the wifi was just so-so. One of the best rooms I've stayed in at this price point.

On the plus side most of the staff are as friendly as ever. However, the accommodations and amenities have gone downhill over the last many years that I have been visiting this place. Although Covid restrictions are long gone in most sane places, the toll it has taken on this establishment are long lasting. Coffee machines in rooms are still absent and rooms no longer receive maid service every day. The buffet is long gone. And many restaurants are only open on Friday and Saturday. In the rooms stains accumulate and age has taken its toll. The slot machines don't seem to be changed out as much, many of the buttons don't work and their variety has been reduced. And to top it off I and others have noticed that the slots aren't as loose as they used to be. A lot of the enjoyment is lost with play after play with no payout at all, fewer bonuses and free spins and smaller payouts on the infrequent bonuses/free spins.

My stay was horrible. I did not even stay the whole night. Rooms are dated and there is a stale smell in the hallway and rooms. The bathrooms shower was not clean. Asked for another room. Tub had hair in it.
Used to stay here years ago and it was a beautiful upscale Caesar's property. Now, looks like a ghost town.

We arrived around 10pm and went to the Casino. The service was absolutely the worst! We tipped our bar girl 20.00 twice and we got 5 beers and she disappeared. When I one a jackpot it took 30 minutes for someone to come take care of me. We then went to get a room and the lady at the desk was RUDE!! We explained our situation with the casino and she told us it was not her problem and we would have to take it up with the casino manager. We get to our room and hear water running and it was the toilet. We had to fix it ourselves. Also the bathroom floor was sticky and the cabinet had not been cleaned! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!

We had a great time we actually should have stayed at the casino and ate instead of leaving everything we needed was there. We ate at all restaurants and they weer awesome especially Port and company. We actually initially booked because we heard about the jacuzzi tub and it did not disappoint. The catch is that you have to book a premium room but it was worth every penny. The only issue we had was that they still smoke everywhere. We stank and actually needed the tub. I think Shreveport Casinos are non smoking now we just assumed that bossier was the same. Overall it was a great experience. Maintenance was also awesome they came to fix the stopper on our tub at 3 am.

This hotel/casino is located right off the highway and super easy to get to. They offer complimentary valet parking for guests of the hotel. The staff are all really nice and helped us with not only things related to the hotel but also with things around town. There’s karaoke on Thursday nights and on the weekends they have a club, and all kinds of things. We ate at the 8 oz Burger restaurant and it was DELICIOUS! The rooms are clean, SPACIOUS, smell nice, have beautiful views of the river, and the beds are super comfy! Definitely recommend this hotel.

Honestly, I avoid this place at all cost. The first and ONLY TIME that I went to Horseshoe, while playing slots, I was approached by three different people asking if "I could put them in the game." It's my personal preference not to have people asking me for money while I am at a casino trying to relax and enjoy myself... but that's just me. The location is convenient and close to the Boardwalk, and on the way out, my wife had a waffle cone and I had a bowl of ice cream, from the shop located inside. I LOVE ICE CREAM, so that alone gained a star back in the service area. Also, the million-dollar-wall made out of 10000 actual one hundred dollar bills was quite impressive.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. The check in was great we upgraded to a jacuzzi room for only 16.00$ more. I thought that was a great price. Our room was huge, clean, and bed was comfy. The jacuzzi was AWESOME. All the staff were extremely helpful and nice. The burger place on the first floor was awesome. The band in the bar was awesome. Thank you Horseshoes staff. We had a fabulous time and will be staying here again.

Have stayed here twice. The place has seen some years. It could desperately use some renovating. And that's the good part.
Two years running I've constantly felt like I've inconvenienced staff by asking them to do their job.
I walked in the sports book at 9PM (they closed at 10), and the bartender wouldn't make eye contact. It was apparently too close to closing to give me a beer.
They don't open the sports book until 10 AM regardless of events like March Madness. And then when they do, the staff is totally overwhelmed by the people to the point of annoyance at customers. And more than half of the betting machines were broken.
And yes, the sports book will definitely be closed when games are still playing. So then you end up cashing out via the casino floor cages. Just hope your ticket scans, because the staff will require a pit Boss, a floor manager and a midnight call to the director of the sports book to get them to key in the ticket manually. Yes, that definitely happened to me. All to the chorus I've "I don't do that, I just scan it".
This place made me sympathetic to the plight of Boomers and Karens everywhere.

We made this the last stop of our Louisiana adventure. Awesome, welcoming staff, nice hotel, beautiful view out our riverview room, and ended up hitting a slot for $500 off of $20. Not a bad way to end the trip at all. Can't remember the name of the restaurant we went to but the buger I had was one of the best I've ever had. My only complaint of the entire experience was the smell of the room. I realize it was a smoking room but it literally smelled like they rounded up every ashtray off the casino floor, placed them all in a damp trash bag, and then hid them somewhere in the room. We went out and grabbed air freshener just to attempt to mask the smell a little.

One of the best lake tours i have done. $25 per person for 90+ mins is a steal. Do go for this tour if you are there. Captain Ron is very knowledgeable and tells history in details. He is very nice and polite and deals with kids v well.
A MUST do. You may or may not see alligators but i was okay with that. Ample of parking in restaurant parking lot and near Capt Rons swamp tour office. Boat was clean and blankets were available for those feeling cold...

Booked the 90 mins Swamp tour at Caddo lake with Captain Ron's Swamp tours. Firstly the booking process was very easy and the prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately a couple of our friends had to cancel at the last moment so I asked if we could get a refund and Jean was happy to issue us a refund without any questions, we really appreciate that. Secondly, we were late by 10-15 but still Ron and Jean accommodated us without any complaints. Once we reached there they welcomed us and quickly took us to the boat and started the tour. Captain Ron started the tour with a warm welcome and because it was windy and chilly he also mentioned they have extra blankets which we can use. He gave us so much information during the entire tour and answered all our questions. The entire ride was very pleasant and informative. I would definitely recommend this.

Beautiful park. Serene vistas, placid mirror-like water, and friendly , knowledgeable, and overall simply great staff. The pads for sites 55 and 56 are entirely too close together. I shouldn't be able to hear the neighbor letting one rip. Some may complain about the adjacent bayou and the mudboat noise, but it's part of the charm for me. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It's host to cool wildlife, including owls and raccoons. Help the rangers maintain the park and pack out your trash!

A quick trip to Caddo Lake State Park. We stayed in a cabin. It was appointed with all the basics you need and clean (you do need to bring linens, plates, silverware.... your camping just in a cabin; they do have a coffee maker in the cabin). Remember it's not a hotel, but rather a way to be in the park and experience the beautiful nature of Caddo Lake.
The park rangers were great and more than happy to tell you about the park, the area and much more. The trails are short and relatively easy. Saw Mill Pond is nice to just sit at and listen to the wildlife. There are canoes for rent by the hour. If you are looking for a place to stay in bayou territory this your place.

Loves this place! We camped in one of the cabins that has the screened walls. We pitched our tent inside where there’s a light and there’s a lock on the door from the inside. You can also bring your own lock to lock it from the outside. The rangers at the front station were nice and informative. We rented a canoe for 3 hours and it was $20. We paddled around the swamp and bayou and saw some beautiful stuff. We’ll be coming back for sure.

Beautiful State Park with wonderful views. There are elevated docks over the water with great views of the Bayou. We visited in July, which I do not recommend. It is so hot. It is even more humid. The park is very nice and large. We stayed in a site with water and electric. The sites are nicely spaced out so you never feel like you are right on top of your neighbor. You can walk right down to the "lake" which I would call more of a swamp, but it is very pretty. Canoe rental is cheap and easy. My kids caught a spotted gar, bowfin, and bass all from the canoe in the pond area of the lake near the docks. The bathhouses are very nice and are kept clean, but they may be a pretty good hike from your site. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the bugs. The campground is also a short drive from a quaint town called Jefferson which is definitely worth the visit.

Really great place to go camping. You can go fishing in the pond completely covered with old Cypress trees. You can go hiking on the trails or just hang out around the camp fire. Able to go in and out after paying for your spot. They have enclosed "shelters" at each campsite if it starts raining (which it did for us). Great amenities. The only negative would be the earth shattering noises at night. It sounds like a space rocket in the distance, very loud and consuming, almost worrisome.

We are staying in site 27 Armadillo Run Loop, it is very close to the Hwy 46 so there is constant sound of cars, if you walk down a few sites the sound is diminished and even better on the other side of the bathrooms. Those are pull through sites with full hookups.
We would not camp in this particular loop again we would camp further away from the road.
Bathrooms are large with showers, 2 stalls, one handicapped the non handicapped stall has a paper dispensed that intruders in your space.
Great fishing peer, and kayak put in spots. There are alligators in these waters but they are not aggressive.
Enjoyed the hiking loops, and CCC work that was done I. The 1930’s
Also nice boat ramp to put your fishing boat into the bayou that leads into Cado Lake.
Lots and lots of trees great shade, but little sun to warm you in the fall and winter camping.

This was an unexpected stop one weekend. I wish I were better prepared because the lake is best seen from a canoe. The day was cool and colder on the water and neither of us had the right clothing to stay warm for an impromptu canoe trip! Yet, even from the two access points we found, one for boats and the other a couple of piers with canoe rentals, the lake is stunning! We are definitely planning to return.

The fishing is excellent. The park's lakes and bayous are teeming with fish, including bass, crappie, and catfish.
The hiking is great. The park has a number of trails that wind through the swamps and forests.
The boating is fun. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats to explore the park's waterways.
The camping is rustic. The park has a number of campsites that are located in the heart of the wilderness.
The stargazing is incredible. The park is located far from light pollution, so you can see the stars clearly.
The history is rich. The park was once home to the Caddo Indians, and there are a number of historical sites in the park.
The education programs are informative. The park offers a variety of programs that teach visitors about the park's natural history.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The park staff is always happy to answer questions and help visitors make the most of their visit.

This is one of our favorite stops when we are heading out of Louisiana. The animals are all well taken care of. The staff is friendly. They have so many animals to feed and pet. And of course our favorite is the alligators. They do live feedings scheduled throughout the day and a show where they bring in a baby alligator for you to learn about and hold. The bathrooms are clean. They have a gift shop. The snack shop was closed due to being short staffed when we were there. Come with your walking shoes and have a great time.

Great experience. Quite a few gators and a lot of other animals in the petting zoo. Zip line and go-karts are available when they have enough staff. Pretty decent price as well.

One of the workers there (Kayleigh) was absent FABULOUS! She educated us on so much. She was very friendly and courteous. This is a really nice place to take children and it isn't very expensive like others. Looking forward to going back again soon!

Was a little disappointed because I was really wanting to do the zip line and it was not open😒 nor was the race track. I was informed that they will not be open until about spring of 2024. We were able to see the feeding of the alligators which was pretty cool. Also got to hold and take pics with a baby alligator. They also have other animals that you can pet and feed. They actually eat and interact with you not like some other wildlife places I've been too. It wasn't expensive to get in either. You can get a big cup of feed for $2.50.

We stopped here while on a road trip. Our family didn’t really enjoy it at all to be honest. During the gator feeding, we were expecting them to be informing us about the gators both in general and the ones there specifically but they just asked if we had questions. I was also really looking forward to the baby gator interaction but they never mentioned it when they finished feeding the big gators so my family took off to the petting zoo part after standing around for a few minutes after they did the feeding. Petting zoo in Texas often means you go in the pin with the animals and get to interact with them directly while feeding or just petting them. Here, you don’t go in the pin, you feed them through a gate that is kind of challenging to feed many of the animals through. The deer and goats have big gaps in the fencing that they can stick their heads through but other animals are harder to get to feed. When we finished in the petting zoo, I still didn’t see anything about the baby gator interaction so I asked as we started to leave and the people at the front desk said they do it after the gator feeding and the next one wouldn’t be for another 45 minutes at the time we asked. So we missed that because we needed to get back on the road.
The zip line and go karts would have been cool to do but the website does let you know that those are down right now.
I have two stars because I was able to pet a kangaroo and that was cool to me but all in all, my family doesn’t think this place is worth the stop. I hate to leave a bad review, I really do, but I just want to be honest for anyone else looking for something to do while traveling through

Our experience was amazing. My grandson was tickled with the way some of animals were smart enough to motion you to give them some food.
The area was very shaded and interacting with all the animals was tops.
The height of the gators coming out of the water was crazy! Kalee did such a great job and was very informative.

Very cool experience if your traveling. You get a big cup of food for maybe 5 bucks that let's you feed all the different kinds of animals. There's kangaroos, deer, goats, miniature horses, alpacas, lamas, sheep, a goose, and of course alligators. There are ziplines and a ropes course that go over the alligators water but they were closed due to it being off season. The go cart track was also closed due to it being off season. Some off the fences needed replaced and there's only one spot to clean your hands in thw whole park. Overall definitely recommend stopping by to check it out.

I really enjoyed our trip to Gators and Friends. It's right on the border of TX and LA. We were lucky enough to arrive around the gator feeding time and I got to hold a baby alligator. They also have lemurs, deer, goats, sheep, and an emu. We were allowed to feed most of the animals except the lemurs and alligators. I definitely want to come back sometime. I'd say it's great for the whole family 😊

Came here with our kids and had a great visit. Right away, we got to see the gators being fed. Immediately after that, we got to hold a baby gator and then went straight to feeding all the other animals. Overall, we had a great time!
705-acre pine forest & wetlands for outdoor activities such as canoeing, camping & hiking.
DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS!! 😂😳 other then that. It is a wonderful park. We visited the perfect time of year (end of march) it was warm during the day and cool at night. There are some gorgeous hiking trails. We managed to hike 13 miles 😳 just enjoying the scenery. It has the potential to be very buggy during the warmer months so be prepared. We did get see quite a few locals like birds, bunny’s, armadillo, deer, snakes, turtles and frogs.

We booked electric campsite at the Walnut Ridge Unit, beautiful area surrounded of tall Magnolia trees, we went on 3rd week of April, warm during the day, in the 50s at night. Bring citronella and bug repellent. Very nice trails for hiking or biking, amazing sunset, cannot miss! Restrooms are clean and well maintained, but may need some upgrade and remodeling. Nice day use area with swimming at the Hen House Ridge Unit.

Spent four days here camped right on the water. This place is pretty empty early January. There are a few trails in the park. Lots of places to fish. Very peaceful . Firewood is ridiculously expensive for such a small piece. The water is over chlorinated and burns your eyes when you take a shower and taste like swimming pool water.

Great park for kayaking and fishing. Out of all the state parks I've been to this one had the most water ways. So many places to explore on water. Camping was great, we had a water front site too. There were some great hiking trails and bathrooms were pretty clean. Only down side is if your planning on renting kayaks from there they won't let you if the wind is 10mph or above.

Really enjoyed the tall pines and magnificent magnolias! The park is clean and very well cared for. Camp sites are well shaded for hot Texas summers, but watch out for the Devils Walking Stick plants in site 125 and 126. Many activities to do with full facilities. Will enjoy a return trip soon I hope.

Stopped here on the way home from Toledo Bend. Beautiful park and scenery. Campsites were clean and orderly with plenty of room between them. Walked the Wildlife and Island trails for some exercise. I will eventually come back here to camp.

The park itself is great, stayed a full 7 days. Didn't see much in the wildlife department till after the weekend when everyone left and the park was empty. Had neighbors that played loud music and there is a relatively loud noise you hear day and night. I thought it was boats at first but if you go down the sandy creek trail that dead ends you will find they're drilling for oil! We heard the noise our entire stay. Reception was horrible so we had to watch dvds. The bathroom was stocked but not really clean. The men's showers didn't have curtains and the heaters didn't work while we were there. Tip: Watch out for spiders they like to hide under the toilet lids and around the bowls. The trail benches were FULL. 😖 The photos of the sites online are VERY deceiving. We booked one based on site photos and ended up changing spots at the park. Also if you have pets avoid day use ... My pups got grass burrs all in their feet. It was horrible getting them out of 3 dogs. Conclusion: If your looking for peace and quiet I would avoid staying overnight unless your used to the sound of machinery. It's not bad for 2-3 days and or nights but 7 days had me leaving with a headache.

Beautiful park! The roads looked new and well maintained. Most of the RV spots appear to be backward, so if you book a spot, make sure you study the pictures to know what you are backing into. The pull through sites are very nice. The park is very well maintained. The bathrooms were clean for the most part, yet small. We saw Park Rangers and Game Wardens all the time. The staff was extremely friendly. Great hicking trIls! The alligators were very pleasant to watch.

Great state park! The park is very large, with plenty of wildlife, a boating dock, lake, and trees. The trees were close enough to tie canopies/tarps to help protect from weather. Campsites are close enough that we know others are around and feel safe, but far enough that it doesn't get too loud.

My dog and I took two trails. The Forest trail which was too short for us, then cut over to Slough tail. We hiked about 2 miles. I think our highest elevation reached 30ft. So it's not rough. Both had plenty of benches to stop at and the park entrance of $4 per adult for hiking is lower than average. It's beautiful and more untamed than some of the other parks. Well worth the trip

This Texas State Park is located beautifully deep in the piney woods of East of Texas. It's conveniently accessible just right along 190 and is just close to Jasper and Woodville.
I came here during the weekdays. There's not hardly any people around that time. All I hear are the sound of chirping birds echoing deep within the trees. I also saw deers silently making their way at the side of the road.
I noticed that they have kayaks and canoe for rent. One way of renting it is through the State Park store, and the other is self paying located near the boat ramp area.
They also have hiking trails, fishing pier, boat ramps, swimming area, and nice camping shelters on nice locations throughout the park.
I would definitely consider coming back here! It's a nice place to be one with nature.

We camped for a few nights at the rv sites with power and water. Right on the lake. It was beautiful! Our neighbor caught a little sun fish and we saw a 4ft Gator 🐊 showers were hot and the sites were clean. The nature center had activities for the little kids and there's brand new asphalt on the roads in the sites. The bathrooms were a little dirty by Sunday. I saw the rangers cleaning on Saturday morning but not Sunday. I went with just my boy, definitely going back with the rest of the family soon!

This was our first time here and we loved it. We hiked a few trails on each side of the park and they were all great. There are many campsites here, so it does get packed but it is still worth visiting. There is cell service throughout this park if you don't want to fully stay disconnected. There is also a swimming area.

Most impressive magnolia trees I have seen. Well maintained hiking trails. Beautiful views. Clean facilities.
More than 100,000 acres consisting of hiking trails, bird flyways, boating spots & hunting areas.
Beautiful scenery. Calm and tranquil. Nice hikes with fresh air. Pitcher plants are so interesting! Trails were well marked, parts were paved, bridges were in nice condition. Highly recommend taking the time to enjoy the views.

The visitors center is very helpful with rangers who are informative and welcoming. The Turkey Creek Unit is beautiful and easy trekking. Have fun and keep to the trail if you arent camping, it is easy to become disoriented in the brush.

Some of the trails are not very well marked ESPECIALLY on the Big Sandy Creek trail which is basically huge partially covered trail but the Turkey creek trail was very well covered and very well marked. Kind of wish the parking was a bit bigger but it's doable. Definitely need plenty of water especially in September it was 90° in the shade. Park opens at 9 AM and I would definitely recommend doing the Turkey Creek Trail which actually begins past the picnic area (the sign is a bit confusing). There are bathrooms and a decent parking area around the Turkey Creek Trail.

Love love love the creek! Hidden gem. Locals know the spot but if your are new here ask around on how to get to it. I’ve been several times since moving here and very few rare issues arise when down there and when they do it’s usually a older drunk person or teens. Great for families, just catching some rays and dipping in to cool off. Not to mention Free! Make a day of it pack a picnic meet people and have fun!

We visited the preserve for a field trip with my sons first grade class. I was skeptical at first that the kids would stay engaged but Ranger Scott did a phenomenal job. I will preface this review by saying we live only about an hour and a half from the Big Thicket. Our home area looks pretty much like this area. Also, the weather was unusually cool for this area, for April.
We went on a Sunday.
If you like walking in the woods, this is a great place. No 'high vista views' as the area is heavily wooded and not much elevation change. The Kirby Nature Trail is nice, but don't expect ANY nature interpretation information--- no trees or plants labeled. The Pitcher Plant Trail and Sundew Trail are difficult to get to, down long, bumpy dirt roads (separate trails). And we didn't see any Sundews at all and there was no signage saying "look in this area for Sundew." I have been on this trail many years ago and saw lots of Sundew. Wrong time of year? Who knows, because there was no information about them. The Pitcher Plant Trail had plenty of plants to see.
Animal life? None to see. Heard a few birds, woodpeckers, but that was it.
We "did" stop at the Visitor Center, but it's not much. We did not watch the video, so perhaps THAT was where some of the plant and wildlife info was.

A really special place run by a lot of great volunteers. We walked many of the trails and the volunteer guides pointed out so many plants and flowers we might have missed. There is no charge but donations are welcome and necessary to keep this preserve in operation and making necessary improvements to trails and wooded areas.

Back after a year & 1st time using the Express Bus & I have to say it was a great experience, felt for the driver due to traffics on returning to Houston (Katy Freeway stop location) I would suggest adding an addition hour on returning to Houston (9:30am pick up & 4:45pm departure) would suggest 5:30pm so there's less traffic upon return & would help the driver... all was well inside Naskila (not a winner) had a fun time & staff is at tentative & helpful..

For a casino I was shocked when we were told no smoking no drinking!?! But I was pleasantly surprised by how well I enjoyed the gaming and atmosphere 😀! Simple slot machines, but they are paying plenty! Free soda and water made this a refreshing retreat. The drive is beautiful to the gaming facility and there are neat artificacts about the reservation throughout the casino. The land and buildings are so beautiful and historical. It's not all about the gaming, it about learning the tribes and about the land when you go to Nasilka. My next visit I hope to go to the restaurant at this casino.

I have been to many of these Indian Casinos. This one is nothing but slot machines. I looked around the lowest minimum bet I found was 0.25 on one cent machines. They do not have many of these smaller betting machines. The larger wagering machines are $5 and $10. There are a.couple places to eat inside prices may run a little high like most casinos. They do offer soft drinks water, coffee, sweet tea,no unsweet tea. I did not see any big pay out when I visited. This casino is good to visit for a couple hours. Give it a try but we went on a Saturday you could not find an empty machine without waiting.

I would like to start off by thanking the staff for their friendly hospitality and willingness to assist this old Military Veteran . I would also like to say thank you to Whitney Williams for her assisting me, and figuring out how to finally write a review, lol. CeCe fir brings us cold drinks which such an infectious smile and awesome attitude.
I have enjoyed going to this casino every Friday for the last 5 weeks in a row. The machines have been great to me and my neighbor. As you may know there is a nonsmoking and enclosed smoking areas. Slots run from pennies to dollars. See time trending charts for best times any day of the week. They have a restaurant that serves steaks and other items.
Now for the best go to the cafe area. The most Friendliest person is ECHO, she goes out of her way to make sure you get the most for your money. When there was no melted cheese for nachos, they are great; she improvised and melted grated cheese for us. She certainly should be emulated by others, and I truly feel that she should be the manager of the café based off of her performance that I have personally observed over the last few months here. Echo is all about CUSTOMER SERVICE and is personally vested in her job performance. It is always a pleasure to see her working in the cafe. Go and visit Echo in the Cafe and say hi you won’t be disappointed.
Try the brisket nachos and Nathan hot dogs they are soooooooo good. Pizza is ok; I wish they would bring back turkey sandwiches they were really good. Get free drinks from fountain dispenser and don’t pay for drinks at cafe unless you are a Big Winner lol.
As far as parking there is plenty. You can take a bus out of Houston if you don’t feel like driving a short hour and a half.
Go and enjoy this east Texas jewel. Thanks again Echo for your hospitality and Customer Service which is lacking in many other places these days.
See pictures and enjoy

We really enjoyed our visit to the Naskila Casino. It was nicely lit, and the slot machines were well laid out. We were glad that they have a separate smoking area. The casino was actually larger than we expected. For those interested, they do have a few poker machines, but 99% of the electronic machines are slots. And there's a good variety. Also, the restaurant had good food and service. And one last note... it was nice not to have to be concerned about state taxes on any Jackpot wins!

My wife, adult daughter and I were looking for something to do around the Livingston area and opted to give Naskila a try. Not being big gamblers we didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at the casino. Plenty of parking, top notch security, pleasant staff and a bunch of free perks made our visit worthwhile. My wife and daughter came out ahead and I lost $5. We arrived on Friday around 215pm and was greeted by two very nice ladies at check in. This was our first time to any state park and were a little unsure of how all this worked. They walked us through it and got us checked in. I purchased the one year park pass to all the state parks and it got me a discount on my second nights stay.
The facility was very nice and we found the park to be well maintained. We easily found our RV spot and were pleased with the setup. Only thing I wish we could have done was trim a couple small branches that contacted out 5th wheel. The park was quiet even though there was a huge influx of other campers arriving to the park later that evening. Everyone was respectful and kept their sites in order. We will definitely be back in the future!
The park store was nice and just FYI if you have the state park pass you get a good discount on the stores items. A lot of people brought their kayaks and boats. We were just there to unwind some, which we did. Overall I give this a 5 star experience if you are looking for relaxation with access to a BIG lake. If you are looking for a ton of activities, then you may be a little disappointed unless you bring them yourself.

This is a beautiful park, with nature's friends everywhere you look. The trails (that we experienced) were stroller friendly, and there was no shortage of picnic spaces. There were many interactive learning spots along the trails, also.
The activity center was very nicely laid out, and it had a wonderful view of the lake. The kids enjoyed the slide and swings after our light "hike".
When camping, we enjoyed the large campsites. Pin Oak section was complete with electric and water hookups for campsites. The shower house/bathrooms were very tidy and decently clean, and I really appreciated the stall layout for the two showers.

We've glamped at many state and national parks, and Lake Livingston is in our top three! The lake is serene, and they have many campsites overlooking it. The sites are spacious with concrete pads and full hookups. We were there in February, and we saw too many bird species to list here. The trails and roads are easy to navigate, and they have a large fishing pier (although no one was catching), observation deck, camp store, day use, and so much more. Also check out the nearby town of Livingston, especially the eclectic historic district. What's not to love?

Park is nice and quiet. We stayed in red oak area with full hookups. Site 42 at red oak. We were by the bathhouse so people would come from the woods to go to the bathhouse and walk on our site. The site has a lot of trees and would be great for summer shade camping. Concrete pad was level. Watch out for the ditches. It can be tight when trying to park. Trails are wide enough for bikes. Lots of picnic tables and day area, boat ramp, and fishing pier. The playground is small with swings and a slide. There is a small camp store. They have interactive with reptiles at camp store....be careful! Restrooms and showers are very clean and have hot water!

This is an excellent state park with numerous facilities to ensure an active and fun filled escape from your everyday routine. The park staff is friendly and helpful and the maintenance personnel are out early and often to keep everything in good shape and clean.
Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, archery, bike riding, boating, paddle boarding and enjoying nature and the fresh air are all readily available. There are a variety of campsites available for RV’s and separately for tent campers both near the lake and further away for more solitude.
The campsites are fairly large and well arranged for setting up a comfortable camp. Unfortunately, there is not sufficient foliage between the sites to provide a noise buffer. So you can easily hear the activities of your nearby neighbors if they happen to be a bit noisy.

The staff were sweet and helpful and made us some decent lunch. $4.50 for a kids sandwich, chips, brownie and juice box. Thank you! Picnic tables are just outside the entrance if you prefer but you can't take your own food in. Parking is close and very convenient.
I would highly recommend 7 Acre Wood on a warm day (not much shade in the summer) and with kids around 10 and under. Goats can get lively so watch your little ones fingers! You'll get a fun day out that won't break the bank (pony rides are $5 inc tax, feed cones are around a dollar and feed bags $5 each). Your kids will be talking about the goats, sheep, Llama, donkeys, deer, highland cow, ponies and guinea fowl for weeks.

Great birthday venue area. Priced right. Kids ran all day long. So much to do as a group or gathering and very safe. Very helpful staff. Feeding the animals was a hoot! Zip line is for littler ones which was perfect for us. The adults stayed and had a great time as well.
Just one favor to ask of the owners. Please trim the ponies hooves. Long over due for a farrier.

Very cute little farm, took my toddler one evening last week and it was completely empty. There were so many things to do here. Lots of playscapes for different age groups, cute concession stand, and of course the adorable animals! We had the whole place to ourselves. There are a bunch of flies, but that's to be expected at a farm. I'd suggest going when it's not too hot outside, Texas is heat is intense.

My daughter loves to come to this zoo. They’ve open gate to let the people pet the animals and also they are very friendly. Playground areas is big have plenty of equipment.

Great place to spend a day with family!
We took our kids and they had a blast, and so did my wife and I. There are plenty of things to do which makes it a place to spend the whole day. The petting zoo was splendid, lots of animals, great variety, and well taken care of . My oldest went on a fun pony ride, and my youngest had the time if his life playing in a sand pit full of obstacles and adventures. There is also a small mini golf course which is nice. And then fields to play any sport you'd want. Highly recommend this place if your looking for somewhere to spend a day with family.

Needs some updating. Like where are all of the scooters for the track? Or the tricles for that track? Could not find ping pong balls. Sand castle sets were spread out it seemed all over the park. The hand puppets need to be disinfected. But reasonably priced admission and concession. 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Affordable farm experience. We love petting zoo, something that expensive Dewberry farm doesn’t have. Lots of animals, lots of places in shade, ping pong, golf, train, pony rides, feeding animals we tried it all and enjoyed this Saturday.

Oh my gosh! Took my niece her for spring break. She loved it. For $15, she was able to do everything, feed the animals, ride the train, take a pony ride, putt putt golf, and play for hours. We had lunch there as well, plenty on the menu and the covered area to eat at was really nice. There are tons of photo opportunity areas as well. Definitely a place to go for the kids.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is an outdoor music venue surrounded by trees. It features live music, theater and dance shows. Halsey is bringing her Manic World Tour to the venue on June 16th., and presales start 1/16 at 10am.
I've always loved outdoor theaters and this one is one of my favorites. There is so much to enjoy. If you choose you can sit under the canopy area. I always prefer lawn seats. They prices have gone up but they had a major renovation so it's understandable. You can enjoy cocktails, beer, or wine before the concerts. It's a small but comfortable venue.

I've been to the pavilion for a couple of concerts now. I really have enjoyed both experiences. You have the option of getting seats or sitting in the grass (less expensive). There really isn't a horrible seat in the house. Although the venue is open to the weather outside, they have large fans blowing to help keep you comfortable. I will go again.

Cynthia Woods Pavilion green lot has FREE parking and easy access to the pavilion. Maybe a 5 minute walk across one street. I saw several people bring lawn chairs and listen in the park outside of the venue. Inside the seating is either covered or lawn seating (no cover). There are concessions with various options including burgers, wings, bbq, chicken strips, nachos, pretzels etc. alcoholic drinks and virgin daiquiris as well. Fun place for an evening date. Whiskey Myers and Willie Nelson were there the night we went. There are several amazing bands on the schedule. I do recommend checking the day/morning of to get the best prices. Front row tickets were as low as $130. Check with will call or the box office for last minute deals. We usually book through ticket master and end up paying service fees, but I’m told it’s better to call.

Great staff. Very helpful to get my father to our seats. The seats were great. I like how you can bring your water bottle, and they have fountains inside the gates. We will return for more shows.

Hot as Hell in the Summer. No misting fans. No drink holders for covered seats. Bag policy sucks if you like your designer bags. Concession prices are out of control. Go and have fun.

My daughter and I went to see Mercy Me with her Godparents. It was a fabulous concert. Be sure to arrive very early (2+ hours for parking)and make sure you check for compliance on purses and such.

I appreciate the fact that this pavilion had free parking and that they allowed you to bring your own food in a gallon freezer bag. Beverages were not allowed in the gallon bag though. I would recommend exploring the website before visiting because this venue offers a lot. It is really large and a really nice place for a concert. Keep in mind that this is an outdoor venue. You will be exposed to the elements when here, so dress accordingly.
After the concert let out, officers and stadium workers did an amazing job in directing us and getting us to the freeway as quick as possible. Overall, I had a great experience and really enjoyed my concert.

Truly it's beautiful here . They have lots of clean restroom they also have a lot of different venues. The Hill area is wonderful kind of looks like Miller outdoor theater. But on both sides they actually have a lot of views on both sides I don't know if it's the same. Yes yes it's beautiful.

Very nice venue for concerts. We had dinner first after parking for the concert and then rented lawn chairs. The lawn area is artificial grass which was very nice.

Went here for the first time since living my whole life in Texas and I was shocked at how cool it was. It's small and I mean that in a great way. It's an intimate venue and the renting of lawn chairs in the general field is the best idea ever. The whole lawn is graded so even if you sit behind people, you can still see everything. The food and drink options are amazing and I was totally satisfied. I saw dead and company here and I hope they have more shows here. My only suggestion is to bring a water proof blanket for the lawn. Bot that its always wet, but just in case its damp and u dont want to rent a lawn chair just have the blanket with you. Parking in the area us great and mostly free, too!!

This venue always puts on the best shows and their entire staff is always friendly and helpful no matter how busy they are. Security is well prepared and the medical teams they have there are on the spot. I witnessed some commotion in section 105 I think and staff, police, and medical responded quickly and appropriately. Once things settled down and I saw they were helping someone leave the seated section I noticed it was a friend of mine and his wife was in the wheelchair. I spoke to him later in the evening and they were home safe and doing better. Thanks to the quick actions of the staff things didn't go worse for my friend. Thank you all for all you do.

Important things to know: no purse or bags unless they are clear. Small wallet size purse 4×6 inches allowed, but will be searched. Metal detectors at entrance. This is an outdoor venue. Be prepared with sunscreen and cool clothes. Even under the covered area, the sun shines bright until the sun sets.

Since we live out in Richmond, Texas, I rarely come out this far to see a concert, especially during the hot summer days. Fall and winter are fine, but triple digit heat, no thanks, unless you have seats under the roof covering.

Tons of fun! The Ghost concert was AWESOME!! The only thing that sucked was they watered the lawn before the concert has started so if you had lawn tickets hope you brought a blanket or something to sit on so you don't get your clothes all wet. Which we did not, not knowing they had watered the lawn! So we had to stand the whole time, which sucked. Other than that, the concert itself was AMAZING!!!

Great!!! Smooth experience, staff were very friendly and getting through was a breeze. I expected something close to an amusement park entry, but I didn't even have to wait. What are the better concert venues in Houston area. The best I’ve ever been to, but definitely the number one place to go see a concert if from Houston or the surrounding area. better environment and Toyota center and easier to relax and enjoy the show. Tickets are also more flexible in price because of the option or the lawn price. They also host free shows every now and then.
Scott Eugene — Google review
Great venue! I highly suggest you grab paid parking when you buy tickets, will save some walking. Free parking was well lit and staffed however.
Like all of these types of venues, drinks are expensive.
Great seating options and if your budget puts you in the so called "cheap seats" the video boards are large and clear.
Semi-outdoor with a lot of seating under the cover and large fans moving air.
Bathrooms were accessible and clean.
Keath Huff — Google review
Covered seating is better. The center seats are best because they are elevated and have waiters for food and drinks. They have cheap tickets on the lawn area. The public restrooms have many stalls. There is an air conditioned area when you first enter, but you can't take alcohol out of the area. You can buy food and drinks outside. Parking took forever and it always does because of the traffic flow. So get there early. Also be aware of purse size and types - bigger purses are not allowed.

Very good venue. Great security at the gate and only a five to minute wait to get in. You will not be allowed to bring your own lawn chairs. They have lawn chairs for rent at about ten dollars if you, by chance have lawn seats. The venue is pretty large, and based on my untrained ear the aucustics sound great.

The National Museum of Funeral History is a museum that displays artifacts related to funerals, including items from famous people. It is unique because it is the only museum in the United States dedicated to this topic and it is also the largest educational center on funerary customs in the world.
I was not sure what I was getting myself into but I gotta say that this was much more then I expected. I was sorta expecting some low key or maybe goulash thing but it wasnt at all. It treated the subject with a very important overview that had me learn more then a few things.
It was pretty easy to find if a bit out there in Houston. The price was good and while maybe not a thing for very small kids. I can see this being a place for more mature kids.
I went during the week so it was not crowed at all so it gave me time to really look around at everything. If you want a museum unlike anything else anywhere then this is the place.

This museum has way more than you think! I especially liked the fantasy coffins. Great piece of artwork by a man from Ghana. The museum was also a lot bigger than I had originally thought. They have lots of vintage hearses on display and other interesting exhibits. If you are in the area, visit this museum. You won't regret it.

Even though I am not catholic or even Christian I found the history of the Popes funerals extremely interesting and I also really enjoyed the different burials and Funeral histories. Definitely recommend!

Place is large and tastefully done. Nothing macabre or creepy about it. It’s informative and interesting. Covers politicians, celebrities, regular everyday folks, the Pope, and Jesus. It’s clean and wasn’t busy when I attended. Nice to walk around and not have to wait to see exhibits. If you enjoy wandering cemeteries and reading headstones, this is for you! Gift shop to purchase items as you enter/exit.

Absolutely amazing.
I can’t believe it took me so long to get here.
I’m thrilled so many schools do field trips here.
I would fallen in love with history at such a younger age.
Whether you go left or right —you’ll start with some big history either way. We went towards the dead presidents and made our way to the popes. In between are amazing vehicles.
There’s an entertainment section.
As well, as history of mourning and cremation.
I could’ve stayed there for hours.
I learned so much.
Beautiful displays and so tastefully done. Nothing was morbid or sick.
I feel I could go back once a month and see/learn something new. And with only a $10 entry fee—it’s absolutely feasible to do that.
The gift shop is the only time I’ve felt moved to buy something.
This place is truly a treasure for the Greater Houston community.

We had to visit this place. It’s such a great experience to come here. A ton of history and some of the best exhibits. A lot of presidential burial history and items. Most of the exhibits are very well done. This place is huge. Loved all of the different areas that are covered from all over the world. A must see if you ask me.

This museum is awesome, we had the best morning here. Rob, our volunteer tour guide was awesome and peppered our experience with interesting information and anecdotes. He says he is only there on Thursdays, so try to schedule a trip then! The theological context is interesting in the Catholic section of the museum, but it would be exciting to expand the collection to include non-Eurocentric or non-Christian approaches to death. Would also really benefit from more information on more alternative approaches to end of life processes. The work of Caitlin Doughty would be an example. We had a great time and would highly recommend you to anyone visiting Houston.

Awesome museum near Houston, one of the more unique and content-rich ones around here. Not a large place but has a lot of artifacts, weird facts and interesting history around the culture of funeral. Nicely organized and separated into various sections. I'd recommend spending about three hours here, I went for a bit less than two hours and definitely did not have enough time to browse through everything this place had to offer.

Excellent museum! We have enjoyed this museum numerous times. We go back about once a year and the temporary exhibits are always interesting. And the permanent exhihits continue to amaze me. We love the scavenger hunt but I would suggest walking through the museum slowly first then do the scavenger hunt. This is so you can observe and enjoy the exhibits first before getting into a scavenger and miss something. We like this museum because we get educated, in a gentle, informative way about the processes taking place after people die. There is nothing morbid or gross or scary about the exhibits. They are all well thought out and selected to communicate a specific process in the death & burial processes of ours and other cultures.

This was such a fascinating and interesting museum! There's a few relics from different celebrities including a pair of shoes Robin Williams wore during RV and a funerary hand out from Dr. King's funeral. There's plenty to read and plenty to lear. Currently, they have an exhibit regarding the shroud of Turin and it was very informative. The git shop lady was an absolute peach!

I consider myself a taphophile, someone who likes cemeteries and funerals. When I found this museum while planning for free time during a work trip I was super excited. It was a cool museum but I felt like it could have been better.
A lot of the displays seemed random, not super tied to funerals.
That said, there was a section on famous people's funeral cards and programs. That was fun going through it although I'd have liked to flip through them (they were understandably behind glass). At the very least it would be cool to have digital copies I could scan a QR to access to flip through.
The display on the Shroud of Turin was also a highlight, super fascinating and provoking to the imagination. Also, Kane Quaye's fantasy coffins were fun.
Ultimately, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it but I felt the ticket price was a little higher than it was worth.

Out of the spots we chose to see during vacation, this was the furthest drive and glad we did. We went on a Monday before lunch, with no wait.
Like other reviewers mentioned, it’s not macabre. We loved the information packed into this museum. It showcased US Presidents’ funerals, info on embalming, clothing worn, Papal funerals, options available for yourself and loved ones when deceased, and the different vehicles used as ambulances/hearses. Wish it had more about funeral customs around more parts of the world, besides the few countries it did.
Thank you for getting the Shroud of Turin exhibit. It’s beautifully done.
The interactive quizzes were fun. We earned our 10% off and got some cute gifts from the museum shop.

This was an amazing museum way bigger than I expected. They have lots of fascinating exhibits including the Vatican replica of the shroud of Turin, right of papal death, presidential deaths, history of embalming and it's Egyptian origins, many interesting herses throughout history that are in great condition (no one better to care for a vehicle than an undertaker as they are often garaged and cleaned regularly), as well as fascinating coffins including one made of glass and one that was made for three people. Definitely worth checking out. I even got a tour from a worker that is only there on Thursdays, but he made my experience so mu h more interesting giving me a lot of history I might have missed if I went through on my own.

Death is something I've never been afraid of, and I don't view it as macabre. Still, I didn't really know what to expect when we arrived at the National Funeral Museum.
It was tastefully and respectfully done. Yes, a few things were a little off-putting, like the old embalming machine and replica crematorium chamber, but mostly the museum paid tribute to many celebrities and historical figures as well as death traditions and customs. Some of it made me melancholy, but only briefly. Mostly it was interesting and I learned a lot. I would definitely recommend for history and museum buffs and folks who like to go off the beaten path for activities.

Very interesting place.
We were in Houston for a day before a cruise out of Galveston. My friends were skeptical but agreed to come. We pulled into the parking lot in almost didn't go in. It is in a sketchy neighborhood with very secure fencing around the parking lot. There are signs in the parking lot saying They are not responsible for personal vehicles. However when I walked in there was a security guard who sits in front of cameras monitoring the parking lot. I do have to say the security guard did not have much of a personality however. The only other employee we found was the woman at the cash register, slow was an understatement.
I also was concerned about accessibility for a wheelchair. That was no problem either.
We ended up spending over 2 hours here. Grab a scavenger hunt when you walk in, makes it even more interesting looking for the answers.
Many different rooms for different interests. A room with celebrities, the Pope. Presidents. Interesting customized caskets.
I love their slogan any day above ground is a good one.

The Garvan Woodland Gardens is a botanical garden located just outside of the town of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The gardens are renowned for their well-manicured grounds, with a fantastic variety of plants, trees, and wildflowers. The gardens are closed on January and Thanksgiving and Christmas days, but they are still a great place to visit any time of year.
We were lucky enough to hit the gardens while the tulips were in full bloom. Really nice enjoyable time. Fair $15 adult entry fee. These gardens give you tons of freedom to roam about walk across waterfalls get off the main paths on stepping Stones closer to nature. Truly enjoyed the freedom these gardens give for roaming. Excellent garden area for children also. If you are a senior or have any immobility that keep you from getting around you can also request a golf cart tour to get around easier. I think the golf cart tours are included with admission but I am not 100% certain on this.

This is probably one of my favorite botanic gardens I've visited in a long time. A few key highlights was the Anthony Chapel, the tree house and a few of the overlooks. I love that it isn't just one path, there's multiple sub paths you can take through the gardens, like stepping stones. We had no problems finding parking and we went during the afternoon on a weekday, might be different for other times like the morning. I believe the chapel is free if you walk in the entrance to the East but the actual gardens is like $20. Great place to spend the day, views, peace and some fun!!!

This is a spectacular botanical garden incorporating multiple styles like Japanese, European and contemporary landscaping styles. The garden is designed by the University of Arkansas school of architecture and it's quite impressive how the architects weaved so many elements together like winding paths, bridges, ponds, arbors, treehouse, rock garden and the lake into a fluid tapestry. The tree house and rock garden definitely are a must see if you have kids. Highly recommended for families!

This is place is absolutely beautiful!! My girlfriend and I made a Saturday trip in early spring to see this place and it was absolutely worth the cost of admission and the drive time. It's fields and fields of gorgeous flowers of all colors and species. They have a giant artistic tree house for the kids and kids at heart to enjoy with a waterfall and creek framing it in... one of the most breathtaking cathedrals I've seen with roof to sky windows... and a Japanese cherry tree garden with a small waterfall backdrop that looks straight out of a painting.

This is a beautiful garden which for you to enjoy. Cost is $20 per person, and $5 for a dog to tour the grounds. You will see everything from a structured treehouse, waterfall, a creek, and even a small cave behind the waterfall that you can crawl through if you're physically able.
The walking trails are wide easy accessible some of which are gravel some of which are rock. You may even experience or see some multiple creatures that live in the area.
The restrooms are clean the gift shop is nice and well taken care of and this place even offers a grill for your dining pleasure.
During the Christmas time of year many decorations are placed throughout the garden which could be viewed as they are illuminated and help to bring the garden to life.
It's a wonderful place to simply spend time with friends and family, to take a stroll enjoy nature and get some of that much needed exercise your doctor keeps telling you about.
Take time to visit the gardens enjoy your day and take your time walking along the trails and experiencing the wonders of nature and what Arkansas has to offer.

This place was awesome and much larger than expected. Give at least a half day to explore if not a full day. I only wish they opened earlier. 10am is late. Other than that, beautiful place, they are getting Christmas lights ready so seeing the stuff lying around and plastic poles everywhere kinda ruins the view a little bit but wouldn’t deduct more than a star for that because I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful when done. Also a great idea when weather cools down and plants aren’t thriving as much. The lights add the vibrant colors missing when weather doesn’t allow the vibrant flowers. Also love that it’s dog friendly. The chapel is also a great touch, just a short walk and absolutely stunning architecture. Wife already has plans for renewing our vows here.

Beautiful gardens! We stopped by here on our visit to Hot Springs National Park and spent about 2.5 hours walking around! There were lots of different decorations up for Christmas time. We liked the trail that goes up to the lake. The treehouse and tower were also cool to look at! The only sad part was the chapel was closed when we went due to an event. The gift shop was cute with friendly staff too!

Great place for family hikes. Especially good for amateur hikers as the trails are well kept.
Staff- staff members were excellent and seemed to thoroughly enjoy conversing with visitors and helping out.
Kids- Great for kids. Trails are well kept or paved. Map especially helped keep us on track to see the path to the next spot we wanted to see. Kids enjoyed playing the nature bingo and everything on the list! It was a great way to keep them engaged and concentrated on the hot July walks.
Trails- we opted for the non-paved trails which tended to be shadier for the hot day. Did not get to complete all trails. The only trail we missed was the long one set away from the main area.
Price- if you do not plan to spend a lot of time here, then I could see where the price is steep. If you plan to spend most of your day here hiking and seeing all the sights then the price is fair to have safe and well kept trails for the whole family.
Sights- the gardens are beautiful, even in the heat of the summer. I could see that it would be even better at other times of the year. The chapel in the woods is a must see (especially to grab some AC in the heat). My favorite sight was the amphitheater which doesn’t seem to get many visitors, but it looked like a fairy tale spot with miss covered areas. The treehouse area was a great spot for everyone.
We saw 2 snakes on our journey which was great for the kids.
Plan to spend a full day here and bring walking shoes and I think you will be impressed!

Nice place to take a stroll, downside is it's cheaper to buy tickets online. It's $20 per adult if bought online (no convenience fee) vs. $25 at the gate. Military service members and Vets. can get the same discount right at the gate. We spent about an hour, saw a few cool structures and plants. There's an option for touring via electric cart for those who don't or can't walk for too long.

Buy tickets online. It will save you some money. It is a nice big garden. Your ticket will work for the whole day, can re-enter throughout the day. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. The tree house is not worth 2 million dollars. It's a neat design, but not at the price tag. The children's garden is nice with all the rocks and a waterfall. The mini train wasn't on when we were there so it was a bit disappointing for the kids. Our whole family had fun there though. There's a cafe in the garden, however we didn't try it. Plenty of parking spaces, easy in and out.
