Tonto National Monument
Monument
Sights & Landmarks
Cliff dwellings of the Salado communities dating from 1250–1450, plus a museum with artifacts.
Hi Gang, While camping at Roosevelt Lake I made a point of visiting the monument as I love exploring ancient ruins and learning about their way of life. The ruins here are quite nice as you get to be up close and personal. Also the scenery along the paved route up is stunning. Enjoy the monument and imagine life back then. Safe travels, JimmyT.

Went for a drive on Christmas eve with some friends and ended up here. So glad we made the trip. Very beautiful area with lots of great views of the lake. The cliff dwelling was very cool. The volunteer working was very informative of the area and the dwelling itself. He seemed to really enjoy the work he was doing and took time to ask where everyone was from.
Was a good deal price wise as we had to renew our annual national park pass anyways. Cost is normally $10 per person. There are clean restrooms by the visitors center. There is even a small picnic area just down from the visitor center but on the drive into the park.
Not very busy today but considering what day it was it should be expected. Staff in the visitor center were friendly as well.
Jeff Galbraith — Google review
Staff is knowledgeable and kind. They were easy to talk to and able to answer questions. Walk is steep - wear good shoes. The view is worth the walk. There’s so much history so come early so you can soak it all in without feeling rushed. Even in the rain it’s gorgeous. Check out year passes to the National Parks. There are a lot of National Parks in Arizona and all are unique and beautiful.
A. Cook — Google review
Beautiful locale with great facilities and awesome rangers who assisted any way they could. There are several picnic spots with shade on the hillside and the area is full of wild flowers this time of year. Meander up the hill to the main parking lot and building to pay, visit the museum, shop for souvenirs, and take the hike up to the cliff dwellings. The parking lot is fairly small and the bathrooms are currently porta john's. Big RVs can park at the base of the monument.
Taylor Truesdell — Google review
This is a National Monument, not a National Park, so it is a unique and worthwhile stop for a couple of hours if you are traveling in this area. A small visitor's center leads to a well-maintained path up to a set of ancient cave-dwelling ruins. From here, you can see the valley below and Roosevelt Lake, and imagine this area as it once was - teeming with people and villages with wide-ranging trade and community. There is a daily tour to a second set of ruins that runs once per day and must be reserved far in advance, but this is not necessary to enjoy this historic area.
Tom Borchardt — Google review
Fairly small museum, but it has some good artifacts. The trail was closing at noon because of the heat, but you can walk up to the cliff dwellings. It is a steep and unprotected hike, so plan accordingly and definitely bring water. The visitor center does not have any cell service, but they have AC and restrooms.
Cassie Nix — Google review
Absolutely incredible! The staff and volunteers are so friendly and informative. The hike up is no joke with 350ft of gain in 1/2 mile. They have placed information at the perfect resting place to catch your breath. Worth the visit. We actually had the place to ourselves for about 30 minutes.

Very awesome place to go. From the parking lot you can see the indian ruins that your hiking uphill to tour...great adventure for sure.

This was a super educational visit for my granddaughter. She was given a workbook when we arrived to the visitors center and at the end of our visit she was sworn in as a Junior Ranger. The facilities at the visitors center were clean and well organized. The exhibitions were full of information and we both learned a lot. The trail to the ruins is very steep but it is paved and there are benches for resting on the way up, as long as posted information on the plant life which gave me the excuse to stop and catch my breath! The ruins are fascinating and the ranger stationed at the top gave interesting insights and was able to answer our questions about the Native Americans who dwelled here centuries ago. The views of the Tonto Basin and Lake Roosevelt from the top are beautiful. We’ll worth a day trip from the greater-Phoenix area!
Christina Stephan — Google review
Arrive early and be sure to bring water. It was a bit of a trek up the hill to the dwelling but definetly worth the hike up! Explore a bit when you arrive and catch your breath while the guide gives you the history. The hike down was easy lots of signs and things to see along the trail.
Dean Johnson — Google review
I had a really great experience exploring the ruins at this hiking spot. You get to go up into the ruins and see them up close, which is an amazing experience. The hike itself is relatively easy - about 0.5 miles each way - but it might be a little difficult if you're out of shape. That being said, the path is paved and makes for an easy hike overall.
One thing that really piqued my interest during the hike was the mystery behind why the Native Americans built their homes so far up and away from the lake. It's fascinating to think about the reasons why they chose that specific location for their homes, and it adds an interesting layer of depth to the experience.
Additionally, I learned that the cavern itself functions as a solar shade, which keeps it cool during the summer and shaded from the sun. Over the winter, the sun hits the buildings, warming the ruins. It's amazing to see how these ancient structures were built to be sustainable and adapt to the changing seasons.
Overall, I highly recommend checking out this hiking spot if you're in the area. It's a great way to spend a few hours exploring some really unique ruins, and the hike itself is a lot of fun. And if you're up for it, be sure to check out the guided tour as well - it's a great way to learn even more about the history and culture of the area.
Brian Snyder — Google review
Great place to explore a cliff dwelling and learn about Native Americans living near the Salt River. There are also lots of birds and cactus to see.
Jocelyn Alau — Google review
The lower dwelling is not easy to see from below. It is an uphill hike on a paved trail from the small visitors center. Not easy but doable and worth it to be able to walk thru and explore a dwelling. There are benches to rest on way up. The upper dwelling is not visible unless you are physically fit and used to hiking uphill for 1.5 miles, for 3 miles total. The scenery and views of the area are beautiful. My suggestion is if you’re not able to hike and want to see dwellings, consider a visit to another Arizona cliff dwelling. I’d love to see the upper dwelling. Good incentive to start hiking.
Deb Schwebke — Google review
A must visit! Absolutely beautiful! Be prepared to hike up the mountain. They have plenty of stops along the way. The view is majestic.
popnsmokemcdermotts — Google review
I did the lower dwelling. Paved, very steep and dog friendly, except the inside the dwelling. Still worth it. Overlooking the Roosevelt lake.
Upper dwelling is guided tour only.
Fee required but accept national Park pass.
Barrel MooMoo — Google review
The NPS Monument consists of 700 year old cliff dwellings, an upper and a lower. Both require a hike but are well worth it. The history of them, available at the visitor center, includes a museum, gift shop, and movie. The staff of knowledgeable interpreters provides visitors with information on historical facts, regional history, animal habitat, and landscape.
A scenic view is the reward at the top of each dwelling. Tonto National Monument is well worth the visit
Karen Bennett — Google review
Fantastic experience. Did the lower cliff dwelling hike and met Karen B, the volunteer with a lot of knowledge of these dwellings and the surrounding area. Thank you !!!
Lush, 323-acre, 1920s-era state park & arboretum with botanical garden trails, flora, fauna & more.
Absolutely love this place. The staff is extremely kind and helpful and work hard to keep all of the beautiful nature on display for the public. There's so many great sights to see between the trails leading into the more rocky/mountainous area, the lake, and the numerous gardens. There's some interesting history in this place to go along with the huge variety of plants and trees displayed. Definitely go early in the morning around summer time to avoid the heat and a water bottle is a must. If you haven't been here before and enjoy the Arizona wilderness make sure to take a day to enjoy all that the Boyce Thompson Arboretum has to offer.
Shea Dilly — Google review
Beautiful place. More of a wild botanical garden. Dogs are welcome. It’s not paved so I would suggest tennis shoes, lots of dirt. We stayed about 1.5 hours but didn’t even see everything! Take water, it’s hot, big and no water or food to buy. They do have a little gift shop. And tons of plants for sale.
$15 per adult.
Alessandra Camargo — Google review
In less than two hours from Phoenix, you can witness the magnificent oasis. Surprised my girl with a day trip but ended up only having a few hours to explore the grounds. Would add this to the itinerary for out-of-town guests to explore other parts of Arizona outside of the Valley. Membership included access to special events within the arboretum. There was also a gift shop and cafe, as well as picnic tables on site.
Thomas Thrasher — Google review
Great place for a stroll. Lots of shaded trails so we weren't too hot in the summer heat. They open at 6am during the summer time. Members of the horticulture society do get in for free. We came in Wednesday morning around 7. Not crowded at all very few people and peaceful.
Nancy Trang — Google review
We visited Boyce Thompson Arboretum on an October, Wednesday afternoon. There were only a few people there. It was an incredibly beautiful day and rather cool by AZ standards in the high 70’s. The vegetation was amazing, exotic, and carefully maintained. My husband and I loved our walk through the Arboretum. I strongly suggest wearing a sun hat and taking water to drink along the way. The Arboretum offers an annual membership which is a good deal and I understand has a reciprocal agreement with other arboretums around the country. It’s about an hour out from Phoenix, nevertheless, I consider it a must see if you visit AZ. ❤️
Pam Myhra — Google review
I really loved the concept of Paradise in the desert. We went on an afternoon hike n early March, so the weather was perfect. We spent about 3 hours walking around and enjoying everything and I bought some amazing plants for my garden! They are actually doing very well and going strong. They were reasonably priced, so don't forget to check out the nursery.
Things you will need or need to know:
*Bring plenty of bottled water or snacks if you have children
*Make sure to use the restroom before beginning the walk or hike.
*It is dog friendly
*Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots
*Probably not a great idea to go when it is too hot as the walk or hikes won't be as fun. If you do go in the summer, I would advise first thing in the morning. I would go either February, March, April, or October.
I have included beautiful photos! It's definitely a once in a lifetime kind of place that you will remember. I probably would go back for a quick hike and more plants 🪴

Such a great time!!!! A little chilly if you go early, however the morning lighting is so beautiful. Pack a lunch and stay the day. With all that Arizona has to offer, this is one of the places that should be on the top of your list. When your day is done, it’s a short drive up to Superior where surprisingly there are several restraints that are amazing! Easy Dray trip from Anywhere in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

I haven't visited in over 25 years, but I finally got the family loaded up for an afternoon visit. 25 years was far too long! The kids from age 10 down to 4 absolutely loved the visit. The arboretum is even more beautiful than I remember as a kid. We happily purchased a membership for the family and plan to visit and support often. This is an excellent activity for locals and visitors to Arizona alike. It truly makes you appreciate the incredible diversity of color and texture you can find in the desert.

Marvelous place I have ever been too.. this was during early January, and it’s gorgeous so peaceful and breathtaking. I can only imagine now in the spring through the fall. Which I will be going soon. And I’ll will have an update. But this is a place to add on your bucket list if you want to enjoy a good hike while you marvel at the beauty of nature.
Erika Carbajal — Google review
Loved the natural feeling of the park. It was easy to push our stroller around & we even took the high trail with our kids. We did the entire loop around & enjoyed the suspension bridge. Beautiful mountain views from the path. They sell desert plants as well!
Katelyn Harris Lange — Google review
I love the arboretum! It is an absolutely lovely way to spend the afternoon. The plants are interesting and are well marked, if you're into that. I just love a good nature walk, so that's my favorite thing about it. I love walking the loop trail, especially the side along the river. Two tips: take the loop trail counter clockwise, (much less uphill), and try the high trail sometime. And all the little side gardens are really interesting!
Charlotte Alexander — Google review
We had a wonderful time at the arboretum today. All the blooms are beautiful and the hikes are fun. The trails are nicely kept with signs to let you know the names of the plants. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Try the prickly pear taffy, so yummy! The gift shop has lots of fun things to buy including cactus plants. Might have to get a yearly membership here!
Rikki Milbrandt — Google review
We got lucky: they offer free admission on the first Tuesday of each month from October to May! It was a spur of the moment trip but I am glad we did. The upkeep of the garden is well done. They have easy trails for both adults and children, a little maze for the young, and beautiful scenery.
Jacqueline Snyder — Google review
Such a wonderful and natural experience. If you want to explore every trail and avenue then you could spend a whole day in here.
If you just stick to the main trail then it will still be a free hours.
Plenty of seating to take breaks. Very dog friendly as well.
Start as early as possible and bring plenty of water in the warm seasons.
The main trail is about 50% exposed and 50% shaded.
Had very clean restrooms and a nice gift shop with stickers, little housewarming items and art. There's also small snacks at the gift shop.
They also sell plants here for a reasonable price.

This was our third visit to the arboretum. I've enjoyed bringing our friends and their kids to explore. While we've never fully finished the grounds, we were able to appreciate the east side of the area most shaded. The girls loved seeing the cardinal, butterflies and lizards, in addition to all the cool plants. It's a great place to stroll and many people had brought their friendly dogs. I noticed that the children's garden was being renovated this time and many of the features were removed (stories along the path, sundial, wicker maze). Looking forward to what they may do in this area. This is a great place to pack a nice lunch as they have plenty of picnic tables. I also saw several water bottle refill stations and bowls with water for the dogs. I'm anxiously waiting for the cooler weather in hopes we can make it back to see the leaves change. We decided to sign up for an annual membership this time since our cost today was applied. Such amazing views here! There is always something new to see. Don't forget your sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. Maybe take home one of the local arts pieces or plants for sale onsite!

A nice place to spend peaceful time. Very Family friendly trails. Couple of good view points are there. Lots of shades while hiking.
Friendly staff.
Used public library passes for free entry. (otherwise ~$25)

Amazing place. The employees are so, so friendly and clearly want you to fall in love with the arboretum, which isn’t a hard sell anyway. They were so willing to stop and talk to us, give tips on what to see (including a family of coatis), even offering umbrellas from Guest Services (it was raining when we went, but honestly it was magical to see in light rain and fog). Would definitely visit again, here’s to another 100 years for this Arizona gem!
Angela A. — Google review
Awesome hidden gem in AZ. About an hour east of Phoenix, but well worth the drive. Take water and a good pair of shoes. Arrive early as the crowds grow quickly. There is a lot of parking but it fills up and you will then have to walk a ways. Access to trails is easy, and they are well maintained. There are numerous offshoots to different gardens, and you can spend a lot of time exploring the different spots. Elevation change is moderate. Some trails are narrow, but most are generous enough to come and go with one up and one down spacing. Prepare to spend half a day or more.

This Arboretum is gift to all that visit.
Located just east of Phoenix, the beautiful drive on Highway 60 is a perfect addition to your visit.
The Arboretum has the perfect blend of regional desert natives along with unique plants from other regions (such as Australia). There is also beautiful artwork, sculptures and memorials that provide a unique touch.
The Arboretum is set up in a loop, with great shaded areas to escape the sun. Signage is very informative. There is a small gift shop, weekend food vending and water fountains for filling your water bottle! Just be careful not to drink too much water as there are few bathrooms.
You won't be disappointed with this great venue.
Cheryl Price — Google review
This place is amazing! The paths are beautiful and it truly is a walk in the desert! They have seating everywhere, so you can take a break. We bought a family membership this year and we take visiting family. We walk every couple weeks there to take in the beauty and changing foliage. The history behind Boyce Thompsons vision for this arboretum is also captivating. There's an area for picnics and they also have a small coffee area. I'm unsure of the time it's open. If you like work camping you could check with them. They often are looking for some and it's a pretty place to park your RV. The town of Superior is close so you can even grab a meal.
Diane C — Google review
A fabulous place to walk and reflect or get in a good hike. There are shady areas available and benches along the path to rest. Enjoy the birds, sound of the creek and beautiful views as you let the stress melt away. I enjoy my time there.
Dar la — Google review
The scenery and walk were beautiful, and we were able to capture some great photos. However, there weren't as many blooms as expected for it being the "peak weekend"and we only saw 4-6 birds. There were more trees than you would see on a hike on Superstition, but the price is steep if all you're after is a pretty walk with wildlife.
Laura L — Google review
Phenomenal garden in the form of a piece of the desert that's well-manicured and watered so that even more trees and plants that wouldn't normally thrive in this Sonoran landscape can be enjoyed. You can walk a small amount, or get upwards of 5 miles of hiking in or anything in-between! I highly recommend the earlier hours as the cool temps are the best and zero crowds.
Brady Thomason — Google review
This is an awesome place and shows how beautiful the desert can be, especially when desert plants have better, more consistent access to water and appropriate conditions. There is an enormous variety of plants, and you will not regret taking a little day trip out to explore the arboretum, even if you have to drive a bit longer than you normally would. There were so many plants blooming, even though it was December. Highly recommend!

Wonderful experience! I am fairly new to orthodoxy and stopped by while in town from out of state. I ended up spending several hours here walking the beautiful grounds and the churches. The place is like an oasis in both a spiritual and physical sense. It is one of those places where you meet strangers and quickly feel a connection because you are all pilgrims on the same journey. Highly recommend.

This is beautiful and would visit again. There is a dress code they are strict about. Women need closed toe shoes, long skirts to the ankle, long sleeves, and a head scarf. Men need closed shoes, pants, long sleeves and if they are wearing a hat, please remove it when entering a chapel. They have clothes there you can borrow if needed, they are washed daily.
tiffiny drewes — Google review
This is a beautiful and peaceful place to spend some time. Make sure to dress modestly. Men and Women should cover up with ankle length pants for men and skirts for women. Shirt's should be long sleeve. Well worth the drive.

I went here today, and I cannot describe how beautiful and peaceful of a place it is. Everyone that lives there and works there are so friendly and kind hearted, they helped me to wear the proper clothing and even provided what I needed to wear to walk in the monastery. I was given a map of where I was allowed to go and your welcome to go inside all buildings and take photos
Tracy lynn — Google review
Just a warning this place is serious on the dress code. It's is no joke. Women must wear long skirts and large scarf covering hair. Long sleeve shirt covering chest area. In the middle of nowhere. Very beautiful grounds with lots of waterfalls and you can enter some of the chapels. They do have a small trailer out front selling drinks and small tidbits. I purchased baklava inside the bookstore and bread but did not care for it.

The best experience ever! A Holy place. You will surprised if you visit the Monastery. Make sure you check the website so you dress properly. Outside the a little Cafe spot for take aways, some Greek traditional food.

This is truly a holy and blessed place to visit. Whether you're orthodox, Christian or not even religious, this is a beautiful Oasis to visit in the middle of the desert. They have groves of olive oil trees, Orange trees and lemon trees on the holy compound. The people there are very friendly and informative and they have a wonderful gift shop with many items as well as olive oil made from their own olive oil trees, olives, and many other nice gifts. There is a strict dress code so make sure you take notice of that before visiting. I visited last time, kind of a last minute thing, and they had plenty of extra clothes to borrow if necessary as I had no pants to wear and only shorts since I was visiting in the summer.
This beautiful and holy compound has multiple gorgeous churches laid throughout and many water fountain as well. It literally is a tropical Oasis in the middle of the desert. Truly a holy experience that you will never forget. A must do bucket list item for all devoted Orthodox Christians!

JUST GO!!
It’s beautiful and everyone is kind. Dress code is enforced so make sure to read guidelines. Worth the drive.
I do wish they had like labels on doors of which were for public to go through. But that’s a me thing and did not take away from experience

Beautiful, holy place. Must visit and experience for yourself but please respect their rules the same as you'd expect someone else to follow your house rules. We are blessed they allow us pilgrims to enter.

One of the most amazing places on earth. St. Anthony’s is the largest Orthodox monastery in the Western Hemisphere. It is the first properly sized monastery in America. It’s the resting place of Elder Ephraim, one of the greatest contemporary saints of our time. The level of spiritual life being lived out here is unmatched anywhere else. The uncreated energies of God are at work in this sacred ground.
Since they’re so big, they have large guest houses for both men and women. The monks also run a shuttle to pick people up from the airport free of charge. Definitely call ahead to reserve a room if you plan on staying overnight. More information is available on their website.
Marc Manolache — Google review
Breathtakingly beautiful, sacred, peaceful and if you consider yourself a faithful or spiritual person, regardless of your denomination, St. Anthony’s will move you beyond anything you could imagine.
Please be aware men must wear long pants, long sleeves and closed shoes and women are required to wear a long skirt, long sleeves, closed shoes and a scarf to cover their hair. There are incredibly kind women at the entrance who can provide these items if needed but their inventory is limited.

What an absolute beautiful place! There are many different shrines to visit, and the staff and people are super nice. This is definitely a hidden gem in Arizona!! Make sure that you abide by their clothing requirements, otherwise they have clothes at the front desk. There’s a lot of beautiful architecture here, and a lot of paintings and history about the saints. If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely check it out!

Wow! What can you really say about this holy place. I took pictures but they do not justice for the beauty of the grounds and chapels. I came here with my wife on a pilgrimage project. We will come back and spend more time. Ensure that you wear the proper attire or you will need to don adequate coverage. The holiness here is liminal and that can be experienced by anyone who visits with an open spirit.
Great experience! The steamboat was clean and comfortable. There are options for food and snacks. The captain was very fun to listen to - we learned a lot about wildlife and plants. And we saw big horned sheep, rams, hawks and a huge bald eagle nest along with really amazing fossils in the sides of the rock formations. Highly recommend!!!

Truly wonderful excursion! The boat captain was so nice and the boat itself felt super safe and was very comfortable. We ended up in the middle of a monsoon storm which was exciting but a little scary but I had no concerns that we were in good hands. The sights are absolutely gorgeous - I can’t recommend this experience enough!

Great experience. The crew and captain were fantastic and had great personalities. The views were amazing. Love that they provide everyone with life jackets if they choose to wear them and they make sure the kids put them on as they board. Have snacks, drinks and souvenirs for sale for all ages.

We loved our experience and the staff that was attending us tonight. The captain pointed out Big Horn Sheep along the canyon walls and shared interesting history about the area. The food was amazing, although the vegetarian option was too dry. The Tour was delayed by 1 hour due to a clogged toilet, which they weren't able to fix, so we were left with 1 working toilet, which ended up not being an issue that night.

For all the trouble I went through, which I'm not going to go into here I was so happy to finally get on that boat. The cruise itself was beautiful. Got to learn a lot of interesting facts. Got to enjoy the beauty of the lake. Got to see bald eagles and Rams both. Turkey vultures and many other kinds of birds were also there. Once I got on the boat and until the time I got off the boat I had a really great time. Not going to talk about the rest. But the captain rocks!

I went into this trip thinking it wasn't going to be a big deal but I was really pleasantly surprised on how much fun this steam boat ride was!! It wasn't crazy busy and the staff was personable and a lot of fun. The captain had a very nice speaking voice and he had great stories. We did the 90 minute cruise but I'd love to try the dinner cruise sometime so I'll be heading back and will let you know how it goes! Its the little things in life and this trip brings you back to the small, joyful things to remind you! Also lots of great scenery, very picturesque if you're visiting AZ or even if you're local!!

What a fun day! Nice laid back crew took care of everything. The boat is mostly enclosed & well air conditioned in case you're worried about visiting in summer, great big windows surround both floors & allow you to see it all in comfort. We went on a Saturday when Canyon Lake was packed with boats, jet skis, kayaks, etc, and it was fun to see & wave at all the boaters. Took my visiting MIL and we all had a blast. Even the onboard souvenirs & snacks are reasonably priced (including booze if you're so inclined). Would go again in a heartbeat!

We loved this attraction! It was a great day for a boat tour. The narration by Capt Jay was extremely informative and really made the excursion great! The boat was clean, steady sailing, and safe. They have a well stocked snack bar, too! The staff were knowledgeable, polite, and friendly. Take the time for this event, but I'd recommend you buy your tickets ahead. There was a walk-in option. However, on the day we visited, 3 of the 4 cruises were sold out the day before.

Another adventure with my boys. We got very lucky, since we are new to the area we showed up kind of late and didn't have any reservations(MAKE RESERVATIONS 😅). we were able to do the dinner cruise at 5pm to 7:30pm. It was well worth it. The Captain and the crew were amazing.

This was such a nice experience! If you're looking for an activity that is all age inclusive this is it! It's hard for us to find places to take my mother-in-law because she's older and Arizona heat is no joke a steamboat provided AC and easily accessible bathrooms. The sites were breathtaking, we learned a lot of history about Arizona and enjoy the yummy cocktail on the way. The reservation process was super easy and I really appreciated that they let the elderly board first so we didn't get stumbled on. Definitely sharing with friends and family.❤️❤️
P.S. on board the boat it is a CASH only place. You are able to take water bottles as long as they're sealed and also able to take coolers on board.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with my mom! We bought tickets ahead of time, but it looks like if there was room on the boat you could walk up and buy tickets at the booth. We went on the afternoon tour, but they also offered a dinner cruise! There was the option to sit outside in the sun or sit inside upstairs or downstairs in the enclosed A/C. It was a hot day so we chose to sit inside upstairs. It still offered 360 views, and didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything. There was a bar on board, which also offered snacks and Dolly souvenirs. On our tour we received a history of the lake and surrounding area from the captain, as well as his mates! We got to see fledgling bald eagles, and a ton of wild sheep, and plenty of other fossils and wildlife along the way. We brought binoculars, which I would definitely recommend. It was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, and would recommend it if you are in the area!

We went on the Twilight Cruise and took some guests from out of town. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and made us all feel welcome.
The food was very good. It's surprisingly good.
In addition to the food, the views and atmosphere were outstanding. I felt the trip was a great value for what it cost. I will definitely plan to visit again.

Our cruise on the Dolly was absolutely fabulous! The crew was great, the captain was extremely knowledgeable of the area and the boarding and disembarking process was smooth and quick. Canyon Lake is absolutely gorgeous, from the rock formations to the bighorn sheep and bald eagles, you will absolutely enjoy your visit.

We enjoyed a 10AM Saturday trip in February. I’m not sure if they normally have one at that time or if it was due to the busy season and sellout crowds.
Bighorn Sheep and Bald Eagles were spotted. The captain/narrator did a nice job sharing highlights and ecology insights to enhance our experience.
One fun fact he pointed out were a large number of petrified trees that were visible on one of the cliffs. He pulled up nice and close so we could all see.
About 80% of the seats were inside. There are sliding windows and you can certainly outside to take pics as you wish. It was a little chilly with the breeze. I highly recommend wearing layers as there was a breeze and it could definitely have been unpleasant if you were outside without proper warm clothing.
The snack bar had some tasty choices at relatively reasonable prices. Four of us enjoyed a $10 large popcorn bucket. Hit the spot!

Rented a boat from this place last minute. Great service and friendly staff. I would recommend going through the canyon. Beautiful scenery and water not too cold. Some of their boats even have slides for kids or adults lol. Come here for a good rental experience.

I’ve taken the day cruise and evening cruise several times. This is our go to activity for visitors. It’s a great deal, very scenic and relaxing. The drive there is exquisite. Finish your outing with a meal or drink at the old saloon nearby. You can’t go wrong.

Really enjoyed this tour. Saw mountian goats, eagles, and learned other fun facts about the desert and area. It’s a beautiful lake.
They did a great job with organized boarding. You’ll go pick up your boarding pass when you arrive with a number on it. They board in sequence.
Scenic desert park with hiking trails & wildlife, plus picnic facilities, campsites & restrooms.
WOW. This is such a beautiful state park. The views get more incredible as you go up to flat iron peak. When the sun is setting, it lights up this park in such a surreal way. Definitely a highlight of visiting the Phoenix area. Will definitely return!

We made reservations at the camp ground for an RV space, they were about a month out. This is a beautiful state park. The spots were spaced apart nicely. The spaces were clean and neat. Roads were a little narrow and a lot of one way roads for a state park. The beauty and trail systems were great. Try and get a spot that is as Far East as possible that way you are close as can be to the mountain for the views. We were quite a bit away but we could still see all the glory the superstitions had to offer from our site. We will come back one day again. Check out the ghost town across the street, Gold field. That was nice to go to and very close for some food, drink and entertainment.

My 6 yr and 8 yr old daughters made it to the top of the Flatiron through Siphon Draw Trail.
It took us 8 hours including rest and lunch break.
This trail was very challenging but doable. The view was so great.

We stayed 4 nights @ Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Jct , about 30 miles east of The Phoenix area. It got rave reviews from others and we agree. The suburbs do come up to the edge of the park in some places but that’s not a huge negative.
You do need to make your camping reservation well in advance. Only a few sites have electric but many campers, including ourselves have solar panels which stayed charged in the bright AZ sun.
The 5 days of our visit, daytime temps were in the low 90’s even in March . So plan to hike early in the day, even starting before sunrise, especially for Siphon Draw, the most popular hike in the park.
Tonto National forest borders the Superstition Wilderness area so there are additional hiking, biking , horseback riding options just outside Lost Dutchman State Park

Breathtaking views! Spacious sites. Very close to Apache Junction. Our site was toward the lower end of the campground loops. We had hummingbirds and other birds visiting our camp. We could hear the coyotes after sunset howling and yipping. The sites are raked rock with a metal picnic table and fire ring. Our site had electricity and water with a dump station inside the parks entrance. Phone reception was excellent. Bike paths and hiking trails are abundant. This is an amazing place!

Well maintained State Park. $10.00 park fee. You can purchase upon entry. Loads of parking and bathrooms in most lots. Great trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Park rangers are accessible all around the park and can get you on the right trailhead. Maps are also provided upon arrival. Well worth the trip!

Flat Iron Siphon Draw trail. Extremely challenging trail with a lot of climbing and elevation, but absolutely worth it. There is a lot of water running down at times so it can get slippery. You go right up alongside the water and it’s steep. You must also take care on the way down. Definitely make sure you bring enough water. Amazing views!!❤️

This was my second visit. Very helpful park rangers and several cool trails. We did flatiron peak which about killed me.. deff not for the novice or faint of heart. We stayed in the cabins which are great! The showers and bath houses are well kept up for being a state park. Can't wait to go back!

This is a great park. There’s camping and access to some more intense trails like the flatiron. There’s plenty of easy loop trails too. That day we did the ridgeline trail and loved it. It’s not super hard if you’re into hiking but be prepared for a challenge and bring the appropriate supplies.
Jacob McAneny — Google review
The entrance fee is $10 per vehicle. Honestly, that's a bargain considering the excellent scenery, and numerous walking/hiking/mountain bike trails, and an nice brochure with a map of the park. Several restrooms and parking areas are also available.

I first visited this park somewhere 15 years ago. It has only grown more beautiful in my absence. Didn't make it to the peak or flatiron because of time constraints, but even a half mile away from the top, the hike still possesses incredible views of the surrounding communities and mountains in the distance. Bring lots of fluids of course(being Arizona and all)!

A great but challenging hike along Siphon Draw trail to flat iron summit.
I was not properly prepared so I didn't make it the whole way. Apparently your supposed to alot 6 hours for this hike.
Otherwise beautiful scenery.
Biting gnats in the early summer.were a nuisance which spray helped partially.
No wildlife to note except the horned lizard we saw.
Spent $5 for entry.

This is a beautiful state park. Hook up and primitive sites available. Dump station on site. The views are spectacular, being at the base of superstition mountain. Campsite are private, well spaced, large, and comfortable. I enjoyed my visit here.

This state park is clean and quiet. It is close to canyon lake which is a beautiful lake with boating and swimming. The spots are large enough to bring your Rv and boat. It is also close to Apache junction and Mesa where you can shop to your hearts delight. 30 and 50 amp service with water , and dump station. Sun sets are the best.

Beautiful and memorable state park in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. Great hiking with the added fun of looking for the lost mine and all that gold! Also an excellent basecamp for exploring the Apache Trail, Salt River, Lake Roosevelt and Tonto National Monument. It does get hot in the summer, but yeah of course it does.

The most mystical experience ever. These mountains are magnetic, they hold your gaze forever. I do not exaggerate, we just sat looking at the mountains for hours! We recently went during a rainy day, it was absolutely stunning. The state park is a good way to picnic with family, get to the foot of the mountains if you are in for a casual walk, or atop via a nice strenuous hike.

$10 per car to park but well worth it and supports the park.

Stop over at the Lost Dutchman State Park to do some hiking. The Siphon Draw Trail gets you up to several tack points. From there you can traverse over to the Flat Iron out crop. Wonder over to the Iron View Peak or continue to the Superstition Ridgeline Trail. The Siphon Draw Trail is not for the faint-of-heart hiker looking for a stroll in the park. While being short on distance it’s chucking full of combination terrain. Steep slope of loose debris followed up with slick rock and steep chunky scrambles. Expect to bear-crawl through the steep upper sections of the draw. I’ll spare you the gory metrics and just say. Pack a meal, water and expect a good several hours added to your plan. You maybe the type that flys up and down this kind of terrain or the type that sees the value on an injure-less adventure. With that in mind it’s a glorious view the entire way up and down the draw. You should feel quite happy with your achievement on finishing any section of this trail. Definitely one of the fun ones for the area.

Went back to Lost Dutchman State Park today to see if I could hike the entire trail. There was some heavy breathing involved, and I got caught in a bit of a rain, but I made it. Hooray! Thought you might like to see the views from up high on the trail. You can see forever up there! 😀

I camp here at least 8 times a year. Always beautiful. It's a must do if you're traveling through or live here. The hikes are fantastic. They have a map that gives you the hike levels, so either, easy or hard. Try not to go when the camp is full. All the r.v lights make it to where you can't see the stars. The full timers are a bit nosey ! Some drive around at night with head lights on in either golf carts or vehicles, walking around with flash lights shining. All night long. It will keep you up. Other than people, the park itself is a beautiful place to relax, cook out, pitch your tent.

Reconstructed 1890s town including gold-mine tours, Old West gunfights, a history museum & more.
Pretty fun place! Lots to do and see. I like that you pay per experience and not a general admission. The zip line looks sketchy but it really isn't. We enjoyed the train ride and seeing all of the cacti around the little ghost town. We ate at the little stand towards the front of the park and the food was amazing.
There were lots of fun little shops to browse. We really enjoyed the American Indian store they had some beautiful pieces of artwork inside. It was very hard not to buy everything!

This place was soo cool. It looks and feels like a legitimate old school 1800's mining town. Plenty of shops and cool activities to do when you get there. The food at the saloon is also really really good. Definitely a fun place to take family and friends. I enjoyed the shooting gallery as well. It's worth checking out. I Highly recommend it.

Absolutely a beautiful place to visit and learn. Our family did the combo pass at approximately $30 per person. It included the Shack, the Train and the Mine tours. All 3 tour guides were exceptional in every possible way!!! They were so kind and filled our minds with so much knowledge. Well worth the money!! We tipped every single one of our tour guides at the end of our tours.
On the other hand, my only complaint would be that every single part of the little town was a place to spend more money which was a little disappointing. It would have been or could be so much more if some of the village was seeing how people lived back in those days... but I guess the point is to make more money.
My absolute favorite part of the entire town was hearing and seeing the fiddler. And yes, we made sure to tip him.
All together, great experience and I'd recommend visiting.

A fun old western town tourist attraction for the family. There is free parking and no cost to visit. There are live western shows happening throughout the day on the street with live actors. Souvenir and art shops. Lots of other activities available on a pay-per-activity bases. Horse-back riding, train rides, reptile room, mine tour, jeep rides, etc.
It was very busy on the day that we visited.

A perfect day out place! Spent our Saturday here and enjoyed nicely with my family.
Got a chance to explore this old town and visited most of the shops out there. Took a rail ride ($12/person) and Zip line ($14/Person). Had a nice lunch (Good restaurants are there around). Don’t miss out the Gun Fire Act (Fun filled). Great sights of thunderstorm superstitious mountain.
No entry fee to this town. Decent Parking facility(Free).

Definitely a fun place to learn about some Arizona history, do a little local shopping and experience a bit of the Superstition Mountains. I found a great piece of pottery at the Mudslinger, we found a great cactus gift at the Cactus Shop and the Apothecary had wonderful soaps. The Museum was quite fun with some very cool items on display and a great gift shop. We will absolutely come back and it's definitely a great place to bring visitors!

This place is a pretty cool tourist trap with several shops and multiple activities including a zip line, horseback rides, a train ride, mine tours, a restaurant, and wonderful views of the Superstition Mountains. You can buy souvenirs, hot sauce and salsa, plants, and get old west photos. Great day trip from anywhere in the valley. Worth a stop of you live here or are visiting from out of town.

This is a cool little place, lots of gift shops, and very rich in history. I may recommend ear plugs for the gun fight, I had some ringing going on after that. Zip line seems a lot faster when you're on it. Nice relaxing train ride around the town. Mine tour was pretty fun and educational. The saloon was kind of busy so I didn't explore that. But overall, it was great place and experience

Although this is definitely a tourist attraction, they did a good job mixing in some history. The area has a story. The shops were friendly and presented their products well. They host an ole fashioned cowboy gun fight in the center of town. We had a great time, and we strongly recommend the ice cream shop!

As you walk down the dusty streets of the wild western town, you can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over you. The wooden buildings with their swinging saloon doors and old-fashioned storefronts transport you back to a time when cowboys and outlaws roamed the land.
The town bustles with activity as locals and tourists alike mingle and explore the various shops and attractions. The friendly staff greet you with warm smiles and a hearty "howdy," making you feel right at home in this lively setting.
You have your pick of delicious food and refreshing drinks, from hearty cowboy fare to modern culinary delights. Whether you're in the mood for a sizzling steak at the local saloon or a cool drink at the bustling tavern, there's something for every taste bud to enjoy.
As the sun begins to set, casting a golden glow over the town, you can't help but be grateful for the opportunity to experience a bit of the wild west right here in the present day. The wild western town may be touristy and bustling, but it's a place where the spirit of the old west lives on, welcoming visitors from near and far to step back in time and create unforgettable memories.

Such a cool spot. First time here and we love it. We loved everything from gold panning, train , mine tour, zip lines and the mystery shack to the steak house. Wow what a wonderful day we had. So if you have time stop by. You won't regret it. The beautiful mountain ⛰ 😍 is spectacular.

What a fun day trip! It's an easy walk around the town with lots of items to browse in the stores.
Lunch at the Saloon was awesome! Plenty of indoor, outdoor and patio seating. The outdoor seating is covered with the patio in the sun. It features a gorgeous view of the back of the Superstition Mountains.
The train is a fun event and not too expensive - recommend this! The ride is narrated by one of the engineers and he provides a crazy amount of information about the area, the gold mines, the history, the trees, etc.
Oh, and don't forget to stop by and sluice for gems or gold! Super fun!
We didn't go into the mine (I'm claustrophobic) There's also a zip line and trail rides on horses.
This is a must stop place! You won't be disappointed!

It was a neat place to visit, but not during the monsoon season! It was very hot and not too many people were there. Because of that, the stores closed a couple hours early.
There were a couple of tours to go on: a mine tour,a mystery tour, and a train tour. My favorite was the train tour. The guy was very informative and the tour lasted about 20 minutes or more. The mine tour was pretty short, but it was nice to cool off in the mine! The mystery tour was short too. The guy took us to a slanted house that can mess with your balance.
There were some places to eat and some tourist shops. They were all expensive.
All in all, it was a neat place to visit for a few hours.

Visiting Goldfield Ghost Town was an incredibly fun experience. Watching the gunfight reenactments brought history to life with a bang and was entertaining for all ages. The shopping added to the charm, with quaint shops offering a variety of unique finds that you wouldn't come across anywhere else. It's a great way to spend a day stepping back in time while enjoying some lighthearted amusement.

Went this morning to see for our first time. We have lived in Mesa but haven't ever been here. Well, let's start by saying that this is definitely a very unique place. From the old west feeling. To the old buildings and mining that was going on back in the day. There are a lot of things for the entire family to enjoy and see. From the old church in the very back to the front riding a train. Definitely would skip the so-called Zip Line. It's a cable that runs up a pole, and they let you come back down. And then they want you to pay for it. It's definitely not worth the money. Unless that's what you are used to. Staff does seem friendly for the most part.

We went for their Christmas event and we all thoroughly enjoyed it all! We did the mine tour to meet the Grinch, Santa, and Mrs. Claus, we rode the zip line and the train, and we went on a nighttime jeep tour. We loved it all, especially the jeep tour! It's small but we appreciate that because it wasn't crowded. We were told their Christmas event was thrown together at the last minute, and we're so glad it was!❤️

We did some research on fun ideas for Pheonix and this place popped up. After seeing the attractions, we thought we'd give it a shot and it didn't disappoint. There were a lot of activities for kids, enough to keep adults entertaining and certainly a lot of photo and video ops.
A great place to create memories as family and friends. We only did the train and zipline because of how busy of a day it was. My only recommendation is to go outside of the week between Christmas and new years because the staff said it's super crazy busy during that time and more personalized the other 51 weeks of the year. I'd go back occasionally, but worth it for first timers.

Pricey but so much fun! When we were there train rides were $12 per person, same for the tours of the old mines. Gift shops weren't cheap either. Great atmosphere throw. Tons of characters around the place dressed up like they would like in the old West. They even had a fun little reenactment of an old West gun shoot out.

Beautiful views. Interesting history. Some nice interesting items for sale. Hat store, mercantile store-good fudge, and Saloon was the restaurant. Saloon food was ok, service was mediocre. Poor lady did not have a good attitude for serving or welcoming guests. Interior of the saloon had a lot of cool posters.

Love, love, love this place! We rode a zip line, toured an actual goldmine (copper and silver too) and took a cool train ride around the town. They have an old church, jail, gift shoppes and places to get food. We Sadly didn't have time to explore everything they had to offer but it did not disappoint in any way. This town has a gorgeous view of Saguaros and Superstition Mountain. We would go back if the opportunity presents itself. Fun for all ages!

It's a great touristy place to visit with a fun ghost town vibe that is well done. Kids and folks that like to shop will enjoy it. We did not do the train ride and mine tour as it was a crowded Saturday afternoon. I'm sure they were entertaining. Definitely watch the gun fight that seems to be on the hour. It was very entertaining. Don't forget to tip the actors! We did eat at the saloon and the view from the outside seating area was nice! Food was just OK but that should not be the reason you come here.

Fun & unique area! You can spend as much or as little time as you want here. All the activities are not always available so be sure to make sure you’re going at a time with what you want to see. The mining/ gold panning wasn’t available today but the trains were running & the shoot out show was happening! Not a lot of shady spots to hang out and cool down in outside though. The big indoor museum costs several dollars a person but you can also just come for all the rest of the activities which are free.

Everyone was very knowledgeable and especially friendly. They wanted to make sure that you enjoyed your visit.
I got there about 10 am and left just a little before 3 pm. I spent most of my time outside walking up the hill/mountain. It was an easy walk and there were benches to sit, in order to enjoy the various views.
I highly recommend everyone go. If you don't go into the museum area inside the gift shop, there's no charge to see everything outside, including the barn with it's many exhibits, and the Elvis Presley church, where you can book a wedding or special event.
If you want to make a donation, there's several places to drop money 💰 into a donation box. I would recommend making a donation to keep this national treasure open and available.

Nice little museum to visit with indoor and outdoor exhibits within sight of the Superstition Mountains. Lots of history of the area and mountains. Even have some of the movie buildings that didn’t burn down from the fire on the western set they had here in AZ. I was sad that the historic model train and settlement display was closed but it was cool to see the old mining equipment they used. I know they do a variety of different events up here from time to time and they are listed on their website. If you are up this way I would also recommend taking the additional three minutes to go up to the Goldfield Ghost Town and Mine Tours. It makes for a nice day activity.

There was so much more to this Museum and grounds than I thought. It was great to talk to the volunteers, learn more about them, thank them for their efforts and for passing on their knowledge of the area's history. No tickets needed.

Very interesting place to visit. Lots of very old history that is well explained. Absolutely free admission which is amazing. Good exhibits inside as well as good information outside. You can get right next to the actual ruins and walk among them.

Nice gift shop as you 1st go in, great little museum with lots of artifacts and info which my 5 kiddos loved. We were blessed to get in on a tour outside given by a very knowledgeable young lady. I sure wish I remembered her name, she did such a great job. Full of information, answered questions thoroughly and showed pics. We all enjoyed it very much. The ruins we're absolutely amazing, it was fun being able to walk around, look and read about them. We even saw the 2 great horn owls that the park made a box for in the over hang shading\protecting the Casa Grande ruins. If your ever in the area you need to check this place out, it's awesome and free!

I've lived in Arizona majority of my life and finally got to see how truly awesome the Casa Grande Ruins are with my family. Definitely must see! (Mask are required and there are some if need one but only in the gift shop/indoor museum. )

My uncle and cousin painted the murals and my cousin is in the video in the film hall. Very informative and relaxing space. I can't believe how large the ruins. The facility is nice and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The museum it's self is a smaller space but it has tons of history to see. The gift shop has beautiful art work you can take home and snacks to buy.

This was a nice little spot. I stopped here on my quest to get a magnet from every state and national park in Arizona. They have a nice little gift shop and a little museum. The museum was closed for remodel when I was there, but I could still see in and it looks like it would have been interesting. They have a theater where they show a 20 minute movie about the ruins. I did not attend. The ruins themselves are within walking distance of each other and it's interesting to imagine the people who lived there while standing in their house. It was free to get in and worth a stop if you are in the area.

Cool place to visit, wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
It's covered which is awesome. The staff is friendly.
Museum has a great deal of information.
The outside structure itself looks like it could fall at anytime. Lots of rods holding it up.
Bathrooms are pretty clean.

Cara Grande Ruins is a very interesting site. The reason for the structure is not totally clear but the size is quite grand for a structure that old. Even without a guided tour, the signs have a good idea of the history and the people and their practices from the time of the structures in the complex. The store on site was nice without a lot of touristy items and since this is a fairly lightly visited site, it was not busy.

Well preserved slice of history. Interesting displays and I like that the tour was self-guided so I could go at my own pace. Cost is free but there is an opportunity to donate if you like. Gift shop has some great things to buy.

Pretty cool, it's free. Everyone should come out and check it out. I would give five stars but there wasn't a bowl of water for my dog. Always have dog water on the hottest day of the year folks please 🙂

Highly recommended! So much more than I was expecting! More ruins than I expected, but also didn't realize there was a museum. Make sure you catch the movie in the museum; it is very informative.
No admission fees, but please consider making a donation.

This was a fun diversion on our way down from the Phoenix airport to Tucson. The museum, while small, gives good context to the site and the short film was very informative and kept the attention of our family (two adults, 15, 12, 10). The ruins themselves are larger than I had anticipated from seeing photos, thought do not take long to see. We saw a horned owl in the rafters, which was cool and unexpected. I think in all we were at the site for about an hour. Entrance is free so why not stop?

It's a really cool site to visit. I really like it because it's a self guided tour, and you can get right up next to it! A fascinating piece of architecture and history!! I highly recommend it!!

Worth a visit, any history is valuable knowledge. Take time to read the informational boards and exhibits.
There's a Great Horned owl nest site under the protective covering for the main building. Many more ruins are preserved under soil throughout the property.

Very interesting place to visit. They even provided umbrellas for us sun sensitive people to use. Plan on 90 minutes to watch a video and explore, well worth the time.

These ruins were pretty cool! Being able to check out one of the oldest ruins- turned into a monument- in the United States was a pretty rad feeling- I’d highly recommend it. There’s pottery and other small items cased in glass inside the visitor center. There are also staff who are very knowledgeable about the ruins and will tell you anything you want to know.
There are a few HUGE owls that currently reside within the walls of the Casa Grande, and if you visit during the day, you’ll see them perched up there.
It’s not a huge thing that takes up a lot of time to see, so definitely something you could do to kill some time, especially if you’re a history lover.
Definitely recommended to check this place out!

Nice interpretation center and gift shop inside leading to a controlled access of the monument and ruins. The grounds are covered in pea sized gravel that is fairly flat. There are interpretive signs on each side of the monument as well, which is covered by a canopy to protect it from further erosion. You are not permitted to climb into or on the ruins themselves, but you still can see quite a lot of the interior through gated doorways.

I passed these historical ruins many times coming and going to and fro. We finally made the decision to stop by as it was close to our destination. If you like Arizona history, science, and native civilizations then this would be a fantastic visit. I enjoyed stepping back in time and seeing how diverse and advanced people lived once upon a time. It was a rainy day when we went so I did not get the close up pictures I would have liked to do too muddy terrain but nevertheless it was still a good time. Please look at the pictures and artifacts I have posted to get an idea of the grand history. Also, the two people at the front desk were very helpful and gave me guides to visit more sites of native history around Arizona and the surrounding states. I am miffed that I did not catch their names but they were helpful and answered any questions that we had. Fun time overall.

Awesome national park site. Had no idea this was the first national cultural monument back in 1892. A lot of info about the site's history and the people that farmed here are located in the visitor center, but the I formation boards around the monument are extremely informative also. They also give guided tours. It's worth the 20-mile or so detour from your I-10 travels if you have the time.

I appreciate this place so much. It’s got so much history. They have a guided tour in case you are interested, otherwise, there is no cost to go through and check out the museum and walk around the ruins.

We stopped here on the way from Phoenix to Tucson. It was easy enough to get to from the highway. We weren’t sure what to expect but so happy we went there. It’s a very historic place and helps tell the story of the culture. There’s a museum that is well worth visiting. It’s not too big so you can go through it without committing a lot of time. Outside are the ruins that date back to the early days of the Native Americans. The ruins are also worth visiting. There was an employee there who could answer questions etc. There’s a gas station, some shopping available a few miles away. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Casa Grande Ruins, and it was an enlightening experience. While the physical remnants may not be extensive, the wealth of knowledge offered makes it a worthwhile destination for anyone interested in ancient civilizations.
Upon arrival, we opted for the guided tour, and our guide proved to be a font of information. His deep understanding of the Sonoran Desert people and their way of life added depth to our visit. However, it's worth noting that our guide seemed somewhat hesitant to entertain a barrage of questions, which could be a minor drawback for the more inquisitive visitors.
Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our exploration of the site and left with a greater appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the area. The Casa Grande Ruins may not boast towering structures or elaborate artifacts, but the insight it offers into the lives of the Sonoran Desert people is truly invaluable.
Overall, our experience at the Casa Grande Ruins was both educational and memorable. It's a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of ancient civilizations and a must-visit for anyone seeking to uncover the mysteries of the past.

Very glad we made this stop during our travel in the area. Being able to directly see history makes so much more of an impact compared to just reading about it. We watched the informative short movie before touring outside. We walked around on our own, but there are ranger guided tours. We went on a week day toward the end of January and it was not crowded at all. We had our 5th wheel attached and could get around in the parking lot fine.

I flew to Arizona for a weekend getaway. While driving from Phoenix to Tucson, the sign for Casa Grande Ruins National Monument caught my eye. I'm so glad I took that detour.
It's quite a drive down 87 in Coolidge, but you are greeted by a passionate and friendly staff when you walk thru the doors. There are plenty of items in the gift shop, and our tour guide (Preston) was AMAZING! History provides context for human existence and helps you appreciate the current day even more. Check out the Great House. You won't be disappointed!
P.S. The tours are FREE!!! Plus, here's a fun fact: The builders of the great house carried pine trees 🌲 60 miles from Mt. Lemmon. They didn't float them either. Fascinating!

A small , working, family owned cotton farm. Took 31 people to visit the farm. Nothing fancy here but so very educational. We loved it. Nancy Caywood is an incredible resource of passion and knowledge regarding farming in Arizona. You can not go wrong with a tour of Caywood farms. Fantastic Tour direct from the Owner. You really get a chance to see the effort, economics, and love of the land during this 2 1/2 hour presentation and tour. See the equipment, hear the process, feel and smell the cotton fields (actual picking cotton) touch the raw and finished product. Learn from using all 5 senses. A great day trip.

I've been to a farm type restaurant, but it was my first time with olive trees. The trees are very beautiful! I enjoyed this place but it was too crowded on the weekend. And this place is not as big as I thought. One more thing that disappointed me is the yellow line ruined the landscape to take pictures. Anyway we had pizza, chicken sandwich and a boozy brunch flight and it was cute and delicious. This is where you can enjoy live music and eating outdoors during the picnic season!

I visited Queen Creek Olive Mill on my trip to visiting family. This place was so dope. They had olive oil products that were unusual to me like gelato and lip balm. They also had some food, fresh pasta, hot sauce, gift sets with different olive oil herbs and desserts. I enjoyed my time here. They have tours, but I didn't get to go on it.

Had the most wonderful time on Monday. Our tour guide Wolfgang was knowledgeable, articulate, and detailed explaining the entire extra virgin olive oil process. I would highly recommend the tour, sampling the oils, balsamic, dressings, and anything else you can get your hands on. Absolutely delicious! After the tour we stayed for lunch and the food was incredible. I loved the chapters sandwich and fries, my husband thought his Italian flatbread was full of flavor, and my aunt said the Italian wedding soup was some of the best she’s had. I cannot wait to come back (hopefully in the spring) to see the olive blossoms! If you have the opportunity to visit, I would highly recommend.

Oh this place is so nice! The food (a tad pricey but delish), the ambiance (very chic farm-ish with an elegant Italian vibe to it), the tour (great bang for your buck...quite informative) and what's for sale (man oh man it'll be a bit spendy but if you want high quality items, this is it). We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

A great experience and easy to spend a couple of hours at. It's clearly a popular spot to dine at based on the queue to get in as we left. A nice gesture was the staff announcing how long the wait was, so those inline could decide.
A huge selection of local produce with eclectic varieties in the market area. The coffee was fantastic and is ordered from a separate counter to the food. I had the avocado toast with salami. A small portion with a single slice of toast, nice nonetheless.
Plenty of seating in the shade with misters for the warm days. Bonus for me was a live musician before 12pm! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning on my next visit to AZ. ☕🥑🍞

Stopped by to take the tour and get a bit to eat. We enjoyed a wonderful tour that was very informative given by Von. I don't think there was a question he couldn't answer. I highly recommend the tour. It'll give you a whole new perspective about olive oil and it's benefits. We were able to sample the different types of olive oil. Then we went and got some food. I ordered a Caesar salad with crispy chicken on top which was very good. My wife ordered the fish and chips which she thoroughly enjoyed. There's plenty of seating outside. There's a place for bocce ball as well as private areas in the orchard for private parties.

Our family is from Wisconsin, and we visit the Olive Mill whenever we are in town! The food is great, and the cocktails incorporate different oils and vinegars to make unique and tasty beverages! There is a large selection of items in the shop (and samples!). They will even ship orders (over $90). It was a warm day, and the misters on the patio were perfect.

The linguine & meatball today the pasta was all stuck together. Very disappointed from our last visit. The Pasta Carbonara was on point. The canolies we're amazing but the orange cupcake frosting was amazing but the cupcake was dry and lacked flavor. The consistency doesn't seem to be there. From our Italian to another please get some consistency down.
Delicious lunch but lots of choices for any meal. Open and airy seating. So many choices to try all at once. Can't wait to come back and try something new! Food was excellent!

I love this place. It's a great location for people to hang out, for family, friends, or for couples. When you enter the property there is a huge outdoor area with tables in an olive orchard.
There are sometimes events going on as well, and so you will see event booths and live music (they have a Garlic Fest every year!).
There is a restaurant and gift shop as well. The restaurant has really good food and serves alcohol as well. The gift shop sells different kinds of olive oil, vinegars, reductions, and condiments that are made by the Olive Mill. There are also other products like soaps, lotions, and a whole lot of snacks, candy, and chocolate as well.
I've visited this place quite a few times and have also taken family and friends over when they visit -- all of them enjoyed it!
They also offer tours of the mill so that you can see how they make the olive oil. I highly recommend this place!

Fun venue but extremely busy making for a very long wait for our food. You order at the counter, and they give you a buzzer for when your food is ready. You come get it yourself and bring it to your table. You have to get your own beverages as well. Simple decor with limited inside seating but massive outdoor seating area unlike anything I have ever seen before. This is a store for selling their products and an eating venue combined. The wait is for food, not the store. Pizza is your best choice.

I am sorry I could not give the Olive Mill a higher score. I had not been in some time and was unfortunately disappointed. My husband and I had sandwiches, the bread was so dry and boring. Also, very expensive. I wanted to buy an extra loaf of bread to use to taste the oils, and what they had was hard as a rock! Food was ok. Olive oils and balsamic were ok. I hope to go back one day and have a better experience.

My parents visited the Queen Creek Olive Mill whilst visiting family in the area and brought back some for me and I immediately became obsessed. Delicious on it's own or perfect to cook with, Queen Creek olive oil is the perfect addition to your kitchen. I also feel great using it after doing some research into the adulterated Olive Oil scandal of Italy and Greece. American Olive Oil will be my first choice from now on! I recently returned the favor and bought my parents (and myself!) a classic gift pack and the Roasted Garlic Olive Oil. Perfectly packaged and Super fast shipping. It's a great gift! Delicious, Pure, and Made in the USA.

For our short visit, it was a lot of what I already read through the years.....lovely, relaxing, informative, and superb quality (oil). We had lunch prior to our visit and got there before the last tour, but we found out the guide got really sick and had to be sent home. It happens and we understand. It just gives me another excuse to visit sooner than later. In the mean time, my husband and I were about to walk the isles to see what you all had for sale, when I nice associate unboxing product up front, took the initiative to tell us what isles were sauces, oils, and balsamic vinegars. That was great for us since we are not only foodies, but great cooks ourselves. So, he went straight to the sauces, I went to the oils. There were a lot of free samples on every isle as well. What we thought was FANTASTIC was that there were recipe cards in every isles that you could take home. We just loved that! We bought product because of that.
After trying trying a few, I saw the coffee bar and thoroughly enjoyed talking with the barista there (sorry, forgot her name). She recommended a hibiscus and lavender tea that I wanted ice and it did not disappoint. Soooooo good! She was so funny and very knowledgeable about her craft. Being a former barista myself, I loved the wood burning display on the counter a customer made for you folks. So good and VERY informative. It begs people to ask questions what each one does for the coffee bean. As a coffee master, I wished I had one for my old job
You're very lucky to have that there.
Then, my husband and i went to the deli! I gasped in joy! Being part Italian, I had to buy some of those beautiful pastries. OMG! The lemon cannoli........heaven!! The gluten-free cherry date bar was AMAZING!! The tiramisu cup was good but not " tira-cinnamon-ey" enough for us, according to my husband. Everyone at the counter were so kind and answered all our questions about the pastries.
We stayed in the garden for about 20 minutes and thoroughly loved the homey feel of the patio and the garden. Its inviting. My husband, a retired arborist, said someone there knows what they're doing when it came to your olive trees, as he looked at your grounds. Again, although our visit was short, we'll be back again and hopefully take in the tour next time. We highly recommend Queen Creek Olive Mill for a quant getaway for lunch, a date, or a beautiful walk. Definitely something to do on your list for any season.

A fantastic day starting with the Olive 101 class and tour. I had no idea about how olive oil is made and the differences in ratings.
The store is amazing and had fun tasting all sorts of oils, balsamic vinegars, and various other products. Their products are not inexpensive, but the quality is amazing so bring your credit card so make sure you take some home.
This place can get packed, so if you’re coming for lunch be patient as they will have a line out the door. We didn’t eat there, but seeing the food come out looked fantastic. We will be back to shop and have a nice lunch next time.

This place was great! If you are in the area or looking for a relatively near-phoenix epicurean adventure, this is an excellent option.
They had a huge number of standard and flavored olive oils, as well as balsamics, tapenades, and other dressings and sauces. They had a very large range of olives and stuffed olives as well as breads and many other high end chocolates and sweets.
They have a food counter with a dessert and ice cream section. We did not eat there because we had already eaten up in Phoenix before going, but the food looked great and everyone we talked to said the food was excellent ( and our extended family have been there many times).
There is a tour that you do need tickets for (buy ahead). They also have a handful of beers on tap and a small number of custom ingredient cocktails which we did have and they were very good and fun. And of course last but not least an outstanding coffee bar.
Also there are many special events there including bands on weekends. Lots of outdoor seating in and amongst pretty, decorative olive trees. Kid friendly and fair amount of parking.
This is one of the best places to visit when you are in Queen Creek. They always have something going on and have events for different times of the year. We love the atmosphere and the staff is always very friendly. Make sure for big events like Christmas that you book far in advance because they fill up quick.

We had such a great time! We've been to the farm in the past, but this was the first time we did many of the fun things available. We ate breakfast, which was delicious (highly recommend the biscuits and gravy). We also enjoyed a private golf cart tour of the property and saw/learned a lot interesting things. There are beautiful wedding venues, a vintage camper area that you can rent, and tons of attractions and activities. We rode the train with our 3 year old and visited the playground and animal areas, including the petting zoo. They have giant chess, and a cute shop as well.

So we went for the Christmas at Schnepf Farms the Sunday after Thanksgiving, at first I thought for sure we could make this a tradition. The entrance was festive since we went right at 5:30 the lines for Santa and the train abs hay ride weren’t long at all and the Santa Claus lane was beautiful.
Liked the decorating pine ones, writing a letter to Santa with the mailbox right there… then once we hit the Santa’s workshop it started going downhill… staff were all kids who knew nothing and could answer questions, it was confusing what was included and what wasn’t, and the line for the one thing that was hot on a cold night was forever long.
Then, we paid extra ($30) for 3 people to ride the Illumination Express. What a disappointment!!! About 30%-40% of the lights on the Illumination Express didn’t work or weren’t turned on….. really??? One of the biggest attractions at that place for Christmas and a good percentage didn’t even work??? Would live to get my money back. I was willing to overlook everything till that. Made it seem run down and not maintained. With the admission to get in, 90% of the staff being kids and the extra charge on the train you would think they could at least make sure the lights were on and working.
More than likely won’t go back which is a shame we were excited to go since we heard good things and live down the street. We were disappointed.

Fun little stores ( not open during summer)

A big farm with plenty to do. I think we came during the off season though, because no attractions were open. The train was running, which takes you all around the farm. Some of the stores were open for produce and bakery, but everything else closed, that is during May 2023. We did get to see some animals at least, but I'd like to come back when it is fully running to see what it's really like. The entry was free, so that was a bonus.

From meeting Santa, bounce houses, a carousel, tons of great food options (including multiple bars for the adults), and a variety of Santa workshops and toy stores, there is so much to see and do. Definitely a place to bring the whole family! The staff is all very nice and helpful, too.
Highly recommend arriving early - before opening. It will get packed in a hurry and the entry line gets long!
Overall, had a great time and can't wait to come back again!

I recently visited Schnepf farms for their pumpkin and chili event, and I have to say, it was a bit underwhelming compared to previous years.
While it's still a fun experience, there seemed to be fewer activities and attractions this time around, especially with the price.
The shows were entertaining, but there weren't as many rides or vendors as I had hoped for.
On the positive side, the food was delicious, and I enjoyed playing a round of mini golf on their beautiful course.
Overall, it was enjoyable but not quite up to par with previous experiences.

I went with my boys and their classmates for their field trip, and it was a lot of fun. They enjoyed the train ride, exploring the pumpkin patch, playing mini-golf, eating their snacks in the designated school area, having fun on the playground, jumping around, and spending time at the petting zoo. The morning was pleasant, but as it progressed, it got quite hot. At the end of the trip, we took a walk to get some food for their dad (a Cajun dog) and ice cream for the boys. It was a fun day.

I took my duaghter to Christmas at snepf farms. They had a HUGE inflatable obstacle course! The lights were lovely. The whole place was set into a adorable Christmas theme. They had a snow globe you could walk into and "snow" flurries all around you. They had pictures with Santa.
The best part was the train ride it cost $10 per person. Ut it was weel worth it! The train passed through the most beautiful and fun Light show! I've never seen anything so well set up!
While leaving you get to skate on REAL ice. It was the first time I've seen anything like it it was the closest thing I've ever seen to a naturally frozen pond. A must see!

Love visiting this location as this was our second visit. Once to the Chili festival, then to see the Christmas lights. Both visits were a blast. Amazing food and staff clean restrooms and easy parking.
These events sell out super fast even though the venue is located in a small town environment. At least it used to be!
I will say that's my only complaint is that it's hard for locals to get tickets, and driving to work in that area is a bit insane during these events.
Surprisingly, it's an event in the area that is lgbtq friendly. As a resident of the area, some events/ areas are not so accepting, so I avoid doing somethings locally.
It's just a fun night out with friends enjoying some put-put golf, good food, lots of laughs, and good old family time away from technology!!!
Take your friends and family as it's a beautiful area with friendly staff enjoy the time together.

Food prices are high and many places are not available or menu items are not available. Pizza is closed, No pulled pork and have been in line for 30 minutes for a burger and am less than halfway through the line.. Need better prices and more food, cashiers, ect.. YOU NEED TO BE BETTER!!
Used to love it hear now many families including ours are continuing to have more negatives than positives year over year.
Save your time and money and do something else with the family.
This will be our last visit and we may leave early so we can actually eat.
Pathetic!!
4 workers talking and laughing with an hour line. 🤯

Nice place ,all rides were closed so all we could do is the petting zoo (goats) and playground. Train not working. But still something different.

Had not attended an event here until now. I have wasted several years by not doing so. Christmas Village was well done. Line management fantastic. So glad we came and will come to more events in the future.

Bustling venue with slot machines, a card room, varied dining options & a nearby resort hotel.
WOW! I was last here when they were making all the upgrades and I was unimpressed to say the least. However the whole place is absolutely gorgeous! Love the layout and also have all the greatest games! Can't wait for the opportunity to stay overnight!

Had not been here in years but was anxious to see it after the big renovation. For us it's just very far and there are casinos closer. It's smaller than I thought. 98% are all the new machines. Didn't hear anyone yelling with joy. But it's clean the staff were far and few between but very nice. We left and hit Casino Arizona which was very nice. Actually liked it better.

I come to this casino once a week every week. I like making the drive up there because it feels far away from home. It's not too crowded on the weekends and I can easily get to machines. I've tried the Buffet once and loved the service. The food was very tasty and the chefs are always looking for feedback. The beverage servers are nowhere to be seen and the cleaning team is here and there but also not seen. I like to come here a lot mostly for the low crowds and just to get out of the big city once in awhile.

I’d like to thank the staff at Wekopa for making my family weekend all I expected. From the front desk staff , casino and especially spa staff our stay was impeccable.
Top notch therapists and esthetician.
The rooms was clean and updated. Great to wake up to a Mountain View.
The pool was sparkling clean and the surrounds well kept. Hot tub was perfect.
We booked an am horseback ride with Fort McDowell adventures that did not disappoint.

Overall a nice facility. The two golf courses are great.
Stay away from the buffet. Pricey for mediocre food. The restaurants, the grill at the golf course and sports bar were very good.
Housekeeping was poor. Empty water bottles were not thrown away and other items were not cleaned up. The last night the housekeeping staff didn't leave any bottled water like they had the other days.

Very clean, and fun casino. There is no smoking inside and all the facilities were very nice and new. The pool was fun! Greta place to stop if you are traveling through the area. TON of hiking and golf nearby. I would stay here again. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free valet parking. Lots of food options.

The place is very nice open space, lots of slots and very well kept. The staff seems very friendly. Unfortunately that's where it stops. On 95% of the slot machines you don't need to bring your readers. When looking at the slots it's like looking through a huge magnifying glass. The payouts were horrible on most of the machines my bets range from 50 cents to $2. On average most of the paybacks range from 2 cents to 16 cents. On the big payoffs I was making 10 to 15 dollars and that only happened about 3 to 4 times. I was wondering why it wasn't busy on a Friday night, now I know why. I hope they made a good profit off me, because I'm not going back. Not worth the 30-minute Drive.

Stayed one night! Everything about the casino was great; from the price and quantity of food to the 2 queen bed rooms; customer service all were great! We had VIP Perks, free continental breakfast for 2. We just wish the pool water could’ve been cleaner. There was debris floating in the water and twice I had human hair cling to my forearms. My hair is black, these hair were blond and brown in color. I guess the pools filtration wasn’t working efficiently? Pools, I give ⭐️

Super nice - clean and new. Great bar service. Decent number of slots, but definitely one of the smaller AZ casinos. I wish they had more video blackjack/craps/roulette options.

I've had the privilege of working several times on the buffet line and inside of Ember. The facility is well kept. The head chef and sous chefs help maintain the flow of things professionally with encouragement, guidance, and correction when/if needed in ways that don't belittle someone. The guest just stopping in or making a regular visit are are the best and they help make the work here enjoyable!!

Beautiful property! Casino much smaller than it seems from outside. Went to checkout the buffet. Food was tasty, but overall very basic options on a Thursday night. I'll stick to better options closer to home. It was a long drive from the West valley.

Need more traditional 25 cent , 3 line machines. Every machine is either a penny or a dollar and like 50 lines ! That's far too confusing and your at the mercy of the casino to be honest if you won or not. I have no clue if a tree, skate, pig, hay, cloud, and barn is a good match ! No less check 50 lines.
I just miss the good old machines. But none the less it's a good place to go drop a few 20's and either play for fun or if your lucky, hit it!!! We stop there on our way to Payson. They do have a lot of games though and a variety of places to eat and a bingo room. I also saw they had blackjack and various poker tables throughout. As well as a high rollers room. Check it out and good luck to you.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE! The service was fantastic, the room was wonderful, and we really enjoyed how clean everything was. We dined at Ember for our anniversary, and all I can say us WOW!!! We were blown away. They really strove to make our dining experience special - our server was phenomenal, the ambience was lovely and the food and drinks were DELICIOUS. The handwritten card and complimentary dessert just for our anniversary was over the top. We will tell everyone how fabulous it was and we can't wait to go back!!

Stunning and simply elegant. The upgrades the casino has don't over the last several years shows just how well this nation is doing on the outskirts of the Phoenix area. Really friendly customer service staff. Well lit pathways and directional signs.

Very modern and extremely clean. Very nice gambling floor, and all floor staff were very nice. GREAT BUFFETT if you go away hungry it's you own fault. Maybe a tad expensive but well worth it. This was our first time here , but definitely not our last.

I love the views of the desert. This place is in a great location. It is non smoking, so you don’t smell like the bottom of an ash tray when you come out. A couple restaurants and a Buffet.

As casinos go...its one of the better ones to visit and actually play at. You have to travel a little to get there, but the play for your dollar is better than the Gila River Casinos, all which have gotten really tight for the past few years.
What's disappointing with all casinos today is the "kid friendly" offering. Sorry but casinos are not a place for kids. They should be reserved for adult entertainment only.

The staff at the front desk in front of the buffet was great. Everyone that worked at the buffet was very friendly. The food was literally so good, it probably was the best buffet I've ever been to. It was definitely worth the price. Parking was not that bad and seating is great for people of all abilities.

We came for the crab legs. It had been at least 5 years since we had been here. Used to the crab legs was the only thing to come for. Now the buffet is awesome. I would come for the standard buffet. The lighting and decor add to the great atmosphere. The food choices were vast. Everything I had was scrumptious. The staff was courteous and attentive. I look forward to coming back soon.

A very clean "resort" outside of Fountain Hills. Service was good, rooms were clean and spacious. Very quiet! The restaurant was quite slow and the stew I ate had a odd smell and the salmon smelled a bit fishy. Service at the restaurant at least with our waitress was so-so. She seemed to have an issue with either us for no reason or having a bad day. The casino floor was very clean, smoke-free, and not busy at the machines but the tables were hard to get on and bingo was quite busy for a Thursday evening. Some sort of convention going on there as well. Would stay again!

I have never had a chance to stay at the hotel, it looks like it is very nice, the casino on the other hand is beautiful but talk about tight on the slots!!! Most the time when we go and play at other casinos you can win a little so as to have a good time, not at this casino they don’t pay out even a little. Unless you have a lot of money don’t plan on spending much time there.
leah linde — Google review
Beautiful facility, but I did not stay there so no comment on rooms. I am really not hard to please, but when you spend a decent amount of money, some things matter. And no, I do not expect to win all the time, but some small wins to play on a little longer is nice. The Market Place was not as good as it had been, frozen veggies from a bag as a side selection? Really???My The food at the buffet was bland and dry. Then try getting a drink (water) as you are playing the slots was S-L-O-W at best. Oh, and forget service at the back bar, by the hotel entrance, you are completely forgotten. Maybe some self-service stations with water, soda and coffee should be considered and maintained so we can help ourselves. Miss the old Fort McDowell, that was a great place with great service. Guess it may be hard to find good help these days. Still had a good time with my friends, but we will go to Wild Horse Pass next time, a little further, but the service is so much better and we have gotten more bang for our bucks there. Sorry and sad to say it was just not the fun and great experience that it once was. Management needs to and should do better as most of the staff were friendly, just possibly some scheduling and training issues. Maybe in a few months we will try it again, but not any time soon.

This place is beautiful! Nestled near Fountain Hills, it's in a beautiful location. There's a gorgeous drive by Saguaro Lake and the Salt River to Usery Mountain Park, where there are so many recreational opportunities. The hotel was very clean, very nice, and the staff was outstanding. Everyone so nice and helpful. Best of all, the casino is smoke free indoors. We loved our stay and will be back.

I go with my grandpa here almost everyday. The valet here is great. They’re always on top of things. Alfredo is an outstanding, hard worker. He’s attentive to everyone coming into the casino and leaving. He’s very kind and respectful. It’s hard to find good customer service these days. If you’re looking for kind, respectful, and caring people, this is the place to go. Thanks Alfredo for being so courteous and polite always.

I think it's time to update the video blackjack and roulette. Feels like atari. Besides that they have a lot of new slot machines to play. I just drop by every ones in a while when i end up in that area to try my luck. My last visit I won $390 with just a 25$ free bonus play on the Buffalo slot. Couple other slots were being generous too. Cool place to spend a couple hours for fun. I haven't stayed in the hotel so I can't review the rooms.
From the moment you drop your bags you can tell it is going to be a great experience. The staff was great. Got to play both courses with my son and they were in amazing condition
. The views are spectacular as well. I have played golf all over the US and the Caribbean and would definitely rank these 2 up there as being some of the best. Thanks for the awesome experience.
Gennaro W Trotta — Google review
Spectacular would still be an understatement! Both courses are always kept in top notch condition and could not be more opposite, but in a good way. With the Cholla you'll be playing more target golf with blind shots and a lot of risk reward. While on the Saguaro course (my favorite of the two), its further into the desert with STUNNING views, more traditionally laid out and you'll have to keep it straight or watch your score explode. You get range balls included with your round, a great short game practice area and a very large putting green. During the round there is water and towels on the cart so you don't overheat and rest areas between some holes which is great. In my opinion, Wekopa is the best bang for your buck in the entire Southwestern US, never mind the Phoenix area! If you are a local who hasn't played here yet, or someone stopping through and looking for a good round of golf that won't cost an arm and a leg, this is the place. You CANNOT pass it up!!!!!

Love the Cholla course! Everything about the club is fantastic! Solid driving range. Newer carts. Big, well stocked clubhouse. Well managed restaurant. Good food.

I have been a huge fan of Wekopa for over 18 years, and every single time I play there, i just feel lucky 🍀 Beautiful layouts on both sides. Definitely both courses are very challenging, its hard to pick which one I like better. I give a slight lean to Saguaro because I had a hole in one on #11 … Wekopa is definitely a must play!
Brian Ford — Google review
Wow, tough course, but beautiful. Try to get an early tee time because the desert colors look amazing in the morning. Every tee shot carries some length over desert to perfect fairways. There are Seguaro cactus everywhere!!! The greens roll smooth and true, and the cart paths take you on a magical journey around the course and through the desert. Put this course on your list immediately!
Tim Kraska — Google review
I golfed Cholla and it is one of the best courses I’ve golfed in Arizona, if not the best. The course is extremely well-maintained and the staff did a fantastic job with keeping the pace of play moving along quickly.
The only downside was it was cart path only which required a lot of walking on each hole (4 and a half hour round compared to 4 hours). With a course that is watered and maintained so well, the cart path only seems a bit unnecessary?
Overall, I will be back to golf the saguaro course and I’m very happy to have checked this off my bucket list.

Best if all the public courses I have ever played. Challenging, beautiful fairways, smooth greens, clean, well stocked pro shop, and an excellent grill. The staff was very professional. The ground crew was busy, but was very consciencious about moving aside and quieting machines. The beverage cart made at least 3 passes. We had a wonderful time.

This is the epitome of desert golf! Absolutely stunning views, great food and drinks, and honestly one of the best golf experiences we have ever had when speaking about course only. I want to rate it 5 stars as it was a 5 star course, but the staff was a bit unfriendly. We were playing both courses in one day and they were quite strange with us. I understand you have to keep things moving but we did spend a lot of money to be there!

We played the Saguaro course. It is in great condition. Open fairways relative to North Troon. Greens were medium roll but true. If you had a choice, I would recommend the Cholla course. Overall it is a beautiful course and away from the city.

Awesome golf course. We had a unique situation when we went which I thought was odd coming from New Jersey. We had a frost delay of 2 hours. I didn’t think that could happen in Arizona of all places. We grabbed lunch and waited for our new tee time. Lunch was great. Fair prices and good portions. Service was excellent. Tacos were awesome and the hot chicken sandwich was good, though it was a bit heavy on the slaw. We played the cholla course which was awesome. Great views with varying levels of difficulty. Karts are excellent. Staff was helpful teaching us how to use them. They’re on the higher end of what I’m used to. The snack shack at hole 10 was awesome. Lady was super friendly and quick. The bratwurst was great. Saw some wildlife there too. A few road runners and a coyote.

We played Cholla. Breath taking views from every hole. Our tee time was 8.30 and there was a 2 hour frost delay so we just hung out. The greens are fast/normal and there are many challenging holes. Highly recommend.

One of the most exceptional golf experiences money can buy, no doubt about it. Recently, we had the pleasure of playing Cholla, and it unquestionably ranks among the top three courses I've ever had the privilege to play. The staff's warmth, friendliness, and attention to detail were truly unparalleled. Moreover, the course itself was a masterpiece, with firm greens that challenged our skills, perfect fairways and tee boxes that made every shot a joy, and a layout that was not only challenging but also incredibly unique.
But what truly sets Cholla apart is its breathtaking views and the abundant wildlife that make each round an unforgettable journey into nature's beauty. It's not just a golf course; it's an experience that transcends the ordinary.
If you find yourself in Scottsdale, playing Cholla is an absolute must. You won't regret it.

Both of these courses are exceptional! Don’t overlook Cholla because of the golf digest ratings, it is just as good. Excellent condition, good shot variety, great use of terrain and excellent tee box arrangement to maximize the views. Cholla par 3s are beautifully designed, but very tough. Service was stellar. The resort and Ember restaurant is amazing too.

Beautiful relaxing walk around the lake with the fountain ⛲️ coming on every hour on the dot and lasting 15 min.
Plenty of ducks, geese, coots, etc on the lake and then feeding on the green lawns by the lake.
Veterans' Memorial also on display with statues and other great reminders of the brave.
Great views of the mountains and local plants, trees and more. Enjoy!

Who are these people who gave less than 5 stars? As far as small town parks go, this one is one of the best I have ever seen. From the public facilities, playgrounds, splash pad, and disc golf, to the retail and restaurants at the front of the park and the Veterans Memorial, it has everything one could ask for in a nice public park. But on top of all that… it has the tallest fountain in the world! I have visited Fountain Hills many times since my aunt and uncle moved here in the 90’s and it just keeps getting better! My husband and I love walking down to and around the park and sometimes hike up the trail next to the park, racking up the steps and the miles every time we are here. We have attended events in the park, such as Art in the Park and Pet Parades and competitions. Everything is always well planned and executed. We also love eating on the patio at Euro Cafe. Always a great view, good food and service. If you visit the park, be sure to check out all the great statues in and around the lake. All very well done and they include information about the artist and the subject. You simply can’t go wrong visiting this park.

This is one of my favorite park in Arizona, the people here are so nice and kind, and the fountain the top it off. My Autistic girl love it here, and there are nice restaurants nearby that you can have an all day fun weekend with your family. There are so many ducks here, sometime they leave eggs on the grass so watch out for the eggs. The park hosts a variety of culture events too, the last time we were here there were like 1000 or more Indian people here. Is a great experience for my family since I always wanted to travel to India but never did.

Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch is a vast natural area in the city that boasts 7 ponds, hiking trails, an observatory and even a dinosaur-bone dig site. It's a surprising oasis of peace and beauty where you can observe an abundance of wildlife. The park is also dog-friendly and provides facilities such as playground equipment for children and restrooms. It's easily accessible with parking available at the library nearby.
Amazing place! I was so surprised to find this beautiful oasis in the city. I actually saw more wildlife here than I’ve ever seen at the Desert Botanical Garden - it’s so beautiful and peaceful. Dog friendly (and cat friendly too - I saw one with a harness on going for a walk). Lots of facilities such as playground equipment for the kids and restrooms. Parking is easier at the library - the parking lot that google takes you to is just the small overflow parking lot. No entrance free - just make sure to leave no trace and don’t be a litterbug. Highly recommend!

I loved walking here. It was really pretty when the sun was going down. When it got darker tons of hares (desert rabbit) came out. I didn't walk very far but it is a big area. It is nice that it is open until 10pm because you can actually sit and enjoy the sunset. There are other places I would love to go to watch a sunset but most of the places close at 7pm. The park area of the reserve is amazing. I was so glad I went before the sun went down. It is so peaceful and relaxing in the preserve. There are a lot of ducks too. You can feed them too but it has to be certain kinds of food. (some kind of bread or like corn/seed). I enjoyed it. When I come back I will have to walk more around the area.

One of my favorite places in the east valley. It's a little slice of paradise to feel like you aren't in the city. No matter how "crowded", it is always so peaceful. You'll see bunnies, birds, dogs, turtles, fish, and more. There is a great playground and they are always having events and activities. If you stop by the Preserve definitely check out the southeast regional library while you're there. It's beautiful and they have fun library cards!

Beautiful, serene, & peaceful place to come & relax or de-stress. Not very much shade in certain areas though so it does get toasty out there on a hot day. But keep walking & you’ll find plenty shade. There were people fishing in the water & lots of wild life scurrying around to see & enjoy.

Peaceful haven so close to metro areas! Created to enhance water quality and wildlife habitat, with pathways and an array of seating areas. Play area for kids. Really nice! Wheelchair accessible.

A very cool place to see so much wildlife. The amount of ducks, geese, rabbits and other wildlife was amazing to see. Definitely my place to take a stroll to be with mother nature within the Metro.

My son and I love coming here. There are some trails to walk which is nice. There are ducks, turtles, and rabbits you may come across while taking a walk around the trails and lake. Always see people fishing here. There are a couple small areas for the kids. They also have a few events for families, you just need to look it up. Very peaceful and pretty.

Beautiful preserve to walk around and take in nature. 3 large ponds to enjoy, with 1 dedicated to fishing. Tons of wildlife and species of birds. Also has an observatory, too! It's always very clean and a nice escape. Great place to bring the whole family, including dogs!

Riparian Preserve is an amazing place to visit… once you’re there, you would never believe you’re still in Gilbert. Is has about seven different ponds — and the pond closest to the library has a completely paved path around it, and a floating boardwalk over a portion of the water. The rest of the paths are dirt, and encircle the additional ponds, cross over streams, and go along the canal. One of the best features of Riparian Preserve is all the shade provided by the trees… Most walks / hikes around the area don’t provide much shade and that sun can get hot! There are also different habitats with informational signs explaining the animals you’ll see among other facts. There is an abundance of animal and plant life, and the scenery is ever changing. It’s a great place to go for some peaceful alone time to clear your head or you can take the whole family for a fun filled day. There is an observatory that is open on Friday and Saturday evenings as well. Too cool - I highly recommend.

My first time at the Reserve and will not be the last. Well planned, peaceful place to walk. The variety of birds and desert plants makes it educational and interesting. The "blind" areas for bird watching are great! Helps humans observe without scaring away wildlife. Get there early to see and hear the most birds.

I visited Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, and it was a real treat! The place is full of birds and has ponds with ducks and fish. There are nice walking paths and places to relax. It's peaceful and great for bird-watching. I had a great time and recommend it to all nature lovers.

I love this place. It let's you feel like you're in nature without the longer drive. It's an easy 'hike' with lots of opportunities to rest for those who need them, and depending on when you go, so many happy dog faces.
Parking can be a bit of a crush, but the lot next door at the library is larger and has access from the urban fishing lake side.

What a gem in Mesa and the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. You can get out in nature in the middle of the city at this park. They have a beautiful unpaved nature trail around multiple wildlife ponds which horses can use, a paved trail around a park lake which you can fish in, a dino dig and play area for kids, campsites, observatory, restrooms, and ramadas.
The only issue is that sometimes they put up signs that the nature trail is closed at sunset, which is unacceptable for summers in Phoenix and they're right underneath the flight path for Sky Harbor, Phoenix Mesa Gateway, Falcon Field, and Chandler Airpark; and have busy streets on two sides of the park. So noise pollution is very heavy. However, you can get lucky with some periods of quietness to where you can hear the nature. I usually walk with headphones because of the noise pollution. Also, local photographers can get a little over eager in this place so be prepared for lots of dodging and trying to be quiet on the trails as to not disturb wildlife photographers and group photographers.
I've been coming here for most of my life and will continue to and then very happy with the improvements that they have continued to do, especially the hope walk which gives mental health tips for people walking the nature trail. What a great idea!

Want a great community space. Lots to see and do. Plus, it's a learning center, too! Fishing is available with a state license. Come back in the evening to gaze at the stars through the observatory. Overflow parking at the library next door.

An oasis in the middle of the city! Comfortable walking paths, pristine grounds and water, and lots of wildlife to see. Despite this being 25 miles from our home, this is our new favorite hiking spot.
Pinnacle Peak Park is a beautiful park with an easy hike to the top that offers stunning city and desert views. It's also a great place to rock climb, as there are many boulders to scramble on. The trailhead is located just south of Scottsdale Shea Boulevard and Pinnacle Peak Park can be accessed from both sides of the street.
My all time favorite hike. Seem to always run into friends. Love it! Always help tourist take their photos. A good workout with close to 4 miles if you run all the way to gate. Fun to run, but caution to the several other hikers. Near Four Seasons Resort. Enjoy!

Beautiful scenery and an even better hiking trail! Not to challenging if a hike, the elevation changes are always the most challenging part in my opinion.
Glad we went earlier in the morning when it was nice and cool. I’d imagine it gets quite hot.

Beautiful hike! The trail is very walkable. About four miles, but most of it isn’t very steep. The views are stunning and you feel like you’re in the desert. If you don’t want to see other people I’d recommend going early.

What an amazing hike, especially accessible if you are staying at the Four Seasons Resort. This is a very easy hike accessible to most who are interested in a walk uphill. There is much Beauty to see especially when the cacti are in bloom! Keep a lookout for hidden lizards and other wildlife while hiking through this park.

Gorgeous!
Clean washrooms. Great places to sit at the bottom of the trail and watch people climbing up and down.
My friends really enjoyed their hike to the top and back down: a very busy trail.
For me (I have mobility issues and don't hike) it was easy to do a bit of the bottom of the trail (wide and fairly flat) and view all the saguaro cactus and other desert vegetation.
If you are lucky, you may see some mule deer: I did!

Really enjoyed my hike at Pinnacle Peak Trail, Scottsdale, AZ today. The total distance is just under 4 miles out and back. I started mid morning when the temp had already reached 90 degrees... By the time I got back to the car ~ 2,5 hrs later, I was *fn exhausted!
Note: it's a well maintained trail, with a great view of a beautiful desert terrain. Also there are distance signs every quarter mile so that you know how far you've hiked. Highly recommend Pinnacle Peak Trail for an easy/moderate hike.

Beautiful hiking trail. Close to the city but it feels like you're far out in town. Amazing view of the valley! Fantastic cacti shapes. We hiked in the fall, nice and cool. They close early during this time. It opens at 6:45 AM and closes at 5:30 PM. It takes half an hour from the visitor center to the highest point. Or it depends on your hiking speed. Easy to hike!⛰️🥾🌵🏜️
Old Town Scottsdale is a luxurious area of Phoenix that provides the perfect relaxation spot after an early flight. Visitors can start adjusting to the hot desert weather while exploring the main shopping and dining area, within walking distance from various accommodations such as Motel 6 Scottsdale. For food enthusiasts, the Arizona Food Tour of Downtown Scottsdale offers a unique experience that includes learning about the town's history, savoring perfectly seasoned bites and sipping on sangria.
The Boulders Golf Club provides a serene golfing experience amidst stunning natural scenery. The course is challenging yet enjoyable, featuring well-maintained fairways surrounded by the unique desert terrain and its wildlife. This resort is an ideal getaway for those seeking relaxation and immersion in nature.
WOW Top 5 Golf Course in Arizona for me. This course has it all. Great service, from the food service, cart/starters Marshals to pro staff too. North Golf course is laid out almost perfect, it’s challenging, yet gettable. Definitely a course to play North of Scottsdale you will not be disappointed.

I don’t think I’ve left a Google review in my life, but this place was miserable. Beautiful place in the 90’s and early 00’s but the facilities are dated, which I can understand, but the service was by far the worst part. Showed up to the bar an hour before our tee time, took 10 min to get a menu, 20 min to get a drink, and 50 minutes to get our food- check out the picture of how it came out. Yes, that’s supposedly the patty melt.
Received attitude the entire time from the bartender. She clearly did not want to be there and took her frustration out on my friends who came to visit for the weekend. We were harassed twice in the first four holes by the same ranger asking if we paid for our round (of course we did). Totally uncalled for- we found it very insulting. Spend your money at Troon, play a better course, and have a much better experience for the same price.
The guys in the pro shop were solid and the starter were very personable. Everyone else couldn’t land a job at Taco Bell. Will never return this has-been club. This gorgeous tract of land deserves so much more.

Excellent! This is an excellent track and one of my new favorites. The views were incredible and conditions were great. It is a tough course though. We played from the tips which probably made it more difficult for my game but, was an amazing day!
Devin Reffitt — Google review
Let me first start by saying the staff, cart girl and starter were all very nice and I felt welcomed at the course. Our group had traveled from out of town and we had a fun time when we played.
Unfortunately the course conditions are not top tier given the +$350 greens fee we each had to pay. Majority of the bunkers lacked the proper amount of sand and you’re not getting a fair lie. Maybe it’s the time of year where course conditions suffer and rates peak, but we enjoyed the other courses we played at and got a better value.
Josh Elliott — Google review
We had not played the Boulders in many years. The good news is that the scenery hasn’t changed. The rock formations are stunning. Course conditions were average. Bunkers had little sand. New greens meant they were hard and pretty slow. Pace of play was good. As we played in late may, cost was OK. Can’t comment on the accommodations but from friends I have heard the facility described as “tired”.

Great golf course, beautiful scenery and challenging layout.
Tammy Liu — Google review
Always a great time when we play. One of the most picturesque courses in the country. Not a fan of the new water tax. Just add it to the rate since it is part of your cost of doing business.
Kirk Thompson — Google review
Look. It's a beautiful course. Here is my complaint. When you pay $275 for a round of golf I expect to be treated well. At the Boulders members count and we non-members paying $20/hole don't. My group was the first off at 7am. Finished the front 9 in less than 90 minutes. At the turn we were forced to wait while a slow group of members were put in front of us. We waited on every hole for the entire back 9. Lot's of beautiful golf course options in Carefree. I will look around next time.

Boulders Resort & Spa was top notch with excellence and everyone was very professional and personable. Erikka was a delight in checking. Pearl, conceierge was informative of all activities that were available. Driving to the gate for entry you're surrounded with a panoramic view of the hugh boulders. Our suite was beautiful, view of the golf course and little furry friends every where. My husband and I really felt relax with the darkness and nature. The golf course was absolutely beautiful there where wide fairways which was very nice. Seeing these old foothills was wonderful.
Jackie Bonner-Bush — Google review
What a beautiful course. We golfed the South Course and I'm told it's the most difficult. It was a good walk 17,500 steps with cart path only but was very enjoyable. An interesting layout with a degree of difficulty that kept you wondering. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of wildlife, Javelina, Bobcat and rabbit. Plan to go back and try it again soon. Recommend a visit.
Robert Jones — Google review
It’s both excellent and frustrating. Excellent: staff, views, layout and course conditions. Frustrating: 1) was asked to play slow as they were having other groups go off other 9. Never have had to play slow. The fees added to the rate are hidden. This is deceptive. The website I booked had X price, but fees and taxes were 20-30% higher. They also didn’t list aeration/overseeding on site at time of booking and didn’t reduce fees for cart path only and strange tee boxes.

Beautiful course and in great condition. Fairways are larger than they appear.

Stunning. Far and away the most beautiful golf courses i've ever hit. I had three perfect days and golfed both courses. What a treat!
The pro shop has outstanding shirts, top shelf club covers, and killer hats! Staff was waaay friendly and helpful.
One person in the twosome behind us hit a hole in one and got a commemorative flag. Super cool 😎
The course is marked well, but signage is minimal. It is very refreshing to have courteous and helpful people, not a bunch of signs, ropes, and directional arrows. Very clean and neat.
It's worth every single penny, and I wouldn't do anything different except to stay longer next time. Sincere thanks to The Boulders®️ staff.

Boulders Resort and Spa is an amazing Resort experience. Hiking, free classes at the spa, great restaurants and pools. Stayed in a private casita.
Roger Willroth — Google review
Is it beautiful? Yes. Are the greens in such poor shape that it's going to affect my 20 handicap putting? No. But please heed the warnings in these reviews as they are all true.
Every course within a 50 mile radius has views. It's Arizona. If you want to pay an extra $200 to look at some cool rock formations then this is the course for you. Greens definitely are not great, and I often couldn't get my tee into the tee box. Carts are something you'd find at any muni. Range was nice.
The price they charge is the problem. The gall to charge $350 for this course is laughable. Better options out there for far cheaper. So if $300+ isn't pocket change for you, look elsewhere.
Joshua Glidden — Google review
All of the reviews make this place out to be a disgrace and a terrible course. This was not the case, but I wouldn’t say it was amazing. The course is not bad, but for the 350 green fee it is a little overpriced. The greens weren’t great and there were some bare spots on a few tee boxes, the rough was non existent except around the green. But fairways were in good shape. Basically for the same price you could play lots of other courses in the area that are just in better shape. The scenery was great but I’m not sure if it’s enough to make up for the conditions or make me want to come back versus playing other courses.
Nikos Revelis — Google review
Agree with Adam who posted previously. This is a beautiful Scenic course with typical “resort course” layout, fairways were okay but otherwise poorly maintained. It’s a shame, and not worth the money…..greens are not rolled at all, very bumpy, uneven grass patch growth, did not putt true at all. Tee boxes were poly maintained With uneven, long grass and divots. I was very disappointed…staffs were awesome though. But Overall, very poor golf experience.
Will not play here again with this condition!
David M — Google review
Despite some concerning recent reviews, I decided to give the Boulders a chance given its excellent reputation. Man, was that a mistake. The total cost for 18 holes was $390. The tee boxes were brown and consisted of a great deal of dirt. The greens were rock solid, spray painted green, and had weed-type growth throughout. It was infuriating that this place would even consider charging as much as they do with the conditions being so horrendous. I'm writing this in late January 2024 so be very cautious about booking here unless you can get assurances about the conditions improving.

The Desert Botanical Garden is a lovely place to visit in Phoenix, Arizona that houses over 50,000 different plants from around the world. It has lovely paths to explore and is a great spot for nature lovers of all ages.
Such a wonderful visit! I probably haven't been here in 30 years. I'm so glad I was given the opportunity to go with the family. We had such a lovely time. Perfect weather and sunset. Many great photos. It was great to bring my son, who is the same age I was the last time I came. Everyone really enjoyed the Chihuly exhibit. We came right before sunset so we could enjoy it both in the sunlight and lit up after dark.

We stopped here on a whim & I'm so glad we did! Being from the east coast it felt a little surreal walking around all the cacti, plants & wildlife but this place is absolutely stunning. There is plenty to see, you could easily spend several hours walking around. It's very clean & the staff is very knowledgeable & down to earth. The gardens are so calming & relaxing, I couldn't stop smiling the entire time. As someone else said pictures are great but it is so much better in person. Truly a wonderful experience!

The Desert Botanical Garden offers a delightful escape into nature's wonders, even for those who may not have a particular interest in plant life. While the gardens boast a multitude of stunning flora, including a diverse range of cacti and desert plants, there are other attractions to appreciate. For instance, if you're more drawn to wildlife, you'll find yourself surrounded by an ample amount of ground squirrels and lizards that add a touch of liveliness to the environment. Moreover, the garden ensures visitor comfort with plenty of shaded areas to seek respite from the sun, as well as numerous water fountains equipped with water bottle stations. Plus, the convenience of air-conditioned bathrooms throughout the premises enhances the overall experience.
The scenery at the Desert Botanical Garden is nothing short of breathtaking. The juxtaposition of vibrant desert flowers, towering cacti, and the unique desert landscape creates a captivating visual spectacle. Whether you're strolling along the well-maintained paths or sitting in one of the shaded areas, you'll find yourself immersed in the serene beauty of the surroundings. The attention to detail and the preservation of this arid ecosystem are commendable, and it's an ideal place to reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful respite from the bustling city.

My wife and I had a pleasant visit here and did it comfortably in about 2 hours, including the gift shop. They truly put a lot of love and care into the multiple trails and plants. There are also plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife such as rabbits, ground squirrels, roadrunners, quail, and so on. Don't worry about not bringing enough water, as there are plenty of free water bottle refill stations with cold and tasty water which was much appreciated. Lastly, if you're a local or have flexibility, check their website to find their freebie day to save a few bucks.

What a great way to kick off our trip, by seeing all the different desert plants. I loved seeing the very large ones. We are here in late February. I definitely would not want to be there in the dead of summer without a lot of sun protection.

Such a fabulous place. We've been here several times and it's always different and always improving. We went into the butterfly habitat this time and saw some amazing butterflies. Great time of year right now as many of the plants are just starting to flower. Another couple or few weeks and they'll be more. Strongly encourage you to go and enjoy.

This place is heaven on earth. I leave a lot of reviews and have rarely wished to lavish such praise. If you don’t leave five stars you maybe should talk to your therapist. This is incredible!!! It is massive and in reality you could easily spend 3 to 4 hours here appreciating the expanse of desert plants and flowers and sculpture. It is beyond beautiful and I would argue one of the finest collections of such natural wonders on the planet. The staff are professional and passionate, the grounds are modern and kept, there are all sorts of possibilities for events as well and whatever you might need as a visitor for hydration or food if you must. I just felt totally calm and at peace and by the way, there are hundreds of birds and I mean of all varieties but most of all we saw so many hummingbirds playing together and they are quite curious, I snagged a photo. This is an instance where the photos are beautiful but the place is better in real life. The natural world is in abundance here and it will, it should connect with your soul. Enjoy!

The place is so serene, peaceful, well-designed and maintained that it it helps you remember why we can still love Arizona. Because it’s surely not for its divisive politics. I loved seeing all the fall family/engagement photo shoots take place here as well. Which means they will not discourage if you pay the entrance fee. Every penny was worth it, even if you aren’t doing a photo shoot.
The gorgeous art work juxtapose the desert landscape in a brilliant way. And the butterfly garden is a treat. Fabulous descriptions of the cacti and plants and their significance to the ecosystem. And open late during certain times of the year when lighting comes on at “golden hour” to make the place sparkle.
It’s a desert museum worth seeing whether you live or are visiting Phoenix.

Went on a Saturday night for their flashlight event! So much fun and the weather was enjoyable at that time. I went at 7:30pm and wish I would've gone at 7pm for some better sunset photos and to see way more as flashlights can only do so much. They have ton of little things all throughout the garden for children to do as well at night. I don't have kids so I can't speak much on that part. They also have a nice little gift shop. Multiple drinking fountains with bottle fill ups throughout the garden. Very well taken care of and would visit, again.

Just the right size for me whose attention span for such things is a couple hours or so. Very nice grounds with meandering sidewalks and beautiful landscapes. Our interactions with the staff and rangers were great. The butterfly exhibit was (for me) surprisingly engaging.

Folks using wheelchairs I think would find lots of paths that work here.
Lots and lots of pokey plants so watch those young kids!

Wonderful display of a cacti garden. However we visited the garden during a Halloween festival for children and some of the trails were closed off so we were not able to view their entire garden. I would have given it five stars if some of those trails weren't closed and we paid full price.

Absolutely Amazing! We had such a great time at the botanical gardens. Since being from Ohio, it felt like we were on an alien planet with all the unique plants and environment. The garden was a great way to see the variety of plants and learn about the ecosystem of the desert. On top of the standard botanical garden delivery, there are Chihuly glass sculptures nestled into the gardens. My crew spent over two hours walking the grounds. Our experience matched the value of the price of admission.

It was a well-worth visit of at least half a day! This is very useful, especially for botany students and nature lovers. This is incredible!!! You may experience desert plants, flowers, and sculptures, which are beyond beautiful!! The staff are professional and friendly. I felt very peaceful! I'd be happy to provide some information about the Desert Botanical Garden in Tempe, Arizona. However, please note that my knowledge is based on information available until May 2023, so there may have been changes since then. The Desert Botanical Garden is a popular attraction in the Phoenix metropolitan area known for its stunning collection of desert plants. It covers 140 acres and showcases a wide variety of plant species, including cacti, succulents, and other desert flora. The garden offers beautiful walking trails that allow visitors to explore the different desert habitats and enjoy the serene beauty of the desert landscape. Additionally, the garden hosts various events, including art exhibits, concerts, and educational programs for visitors of all ages. Visitors often praise the garden for its well-maintained grounds, informative exhibits, and breathtaking scenery. However, I recommend checking the official website or recent reviews for the most up-to-date information about the Desert Botanical Garden and any changes that may have occurred since my last knowledge update in May 2023.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!! Anytime I have some extra money I come here to enjoy the atmosphere. I got a discount for National Cactus Day and took my children, they were so young and loved coming here I was surprised because they don’t even like going to the zoo. However, seeing the butterflies and all the gorgeous plants they absolutely loved it. Even in the summer time it’s fun! The entire enclosure is well kept and very clean, I’m glad my children loved it as much as I did mainly because there’s lots of fun places for them to climb!

What a fantastic place to explore desert plants! My family and I had a few hours before we had to be at the airport, so we decided to explore. It was great to walk around at our own pace and look at everything there. We even saw rabbits and lizards! Love love love this garden! It is a $25 admission charge, I feel that it is expensive for the small size of this place. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so wasn't too worried about the price after. The whole area around the botanical garden, Papago Park and Hole in the Rock are fun to visit so make a day of it! We packed food and water and explored each area, it was one of the highlights of our trip to Phoenix!

Everyone was festive the employees were helpful and kind.

Definitely well worth a visit if you are in Phoenix. I would say to fully take advantage of your ticket and the experience you may want to call out about 2 to 3 hours. There are plenty of bathrooms around the gardens as well as a restaurant and a gift shop. The gardens themselves are diverse and have a wide variety of different botanicals. It really sets a good scene for the other Flora and foreigner around the state of Arizona.

Fantastic place!! Especially for those who love cacti and succulents.
There are timed tours available with the purchase of the entrance ticket, we did this and we learned a lot.
Some of the huge cacti are over a hundred years old and some can live until 250. They’re starting to bloom now and they’re so pretty!
There are docents around the garden so if you feel like you’re in a maze and not finding your way around, it’s easy to get help. They also have water fountains around the paths and benches under some shade to allow people to rest and hydrate.
This is a well thought out garden and one that may be enjoyable for everyone, young and the not so young!

The staff was super friendly, went on a Saturday morning for dog days. My dog loved to sniff around, lots of new smells for him that he doesn’t get on our normal walks. There were also lots of opportunities for photos. Loved every moment we got to spend together. I would recommend if going with a dog to go as soon as they open because it got crowded around 9am.

One of the nicest botanical gardens I have ever been to. I am from the northeast so naturally the plant and wildlife here is shockingly different from my home state, however, I was in awe at how well manicured the gardens were. Even at night (we stayed from when it was light out until almost complete dark) everything was lit in a thoughtful way, so you could still appreciate the diversity of plant life present. The gardens were spacious and varied greatly as you moved through the different areas, always able to discover something new along the way. There were a lot of fun, more intimate settings scattered throughout the property, great for taking photos. There were two cool exhibits, centered around dwellings typically used by the native peoples of the area, but I wish they had put more emphasis on them or had more information about them, their use, how they were built, etc. Seemed more like an afterthought, which does a disservice to the native peoples. Aside from that, this is a place I would highly recommend going to.

Amazing gardens. An absolute must do in the Phoenix area. My daughter and I spent about 5 hours here. The trails are well designed, and the interactive docent booths are fun and interesting.
We had lunch at the cafe, the food was fine. It was good, but nothing exciting or much to write home about. I do however recommend the prickly pear iced tea, especially mixed with the lemonade.
It was really exciting to see so much wildlife and so many birds.
We look forward to returning next time we're in Phoenix!

The Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden was a treat you'd be remiss to miss!
There's plenty of free parking. The price of admission is worth every penny.
The design of the Garden is beautiful. It's exquisitely maintained and thought-out.
I absolutely loved every part of it, especially the Marvelous Mariposa butterfly house.
This was my highlight in Phoenix!

Absolutely stunning botanical garden. We moved to the area and went on their free day and were blown away by the beauty and peace of the gardens. We got a family pass and have enjoyed seeing the garden through various seasons. The blooming cactus along with the quail all over are a really unique and beautiful experience. All of their trails are wonderful and unique. My sons love the cactus clubhouse and both the staff and the environment there are top notch. Hands down our favorite place to go since we moved here.
Hiking at the Hole in the Rock is an amazing experience that offers visitors a chance to see some of the most beautiful and fascinating geological formations in Phoenix. The hill is perforated with numerous cavelike holes, created by erosion over millions of years. The hike to the monument is a rewarding experience, and provides visitors with a chance to see some of the most stunning desert scenery in Arizona.
Awesome hike for just about anyone! You cannot miss coming here if you are in the Phoenix area. Hiking was a bit scary as we ascended and descended the Hole as it was steep near the top, but we were careful of how we placed our feet on the rocks and did not slip at all. I noticed that many others were confidently climbing in sandals and thongs. A relatively short climb.
Nice views of the city and valley. You can see Phoenix and also the airport tower with planes approaching the airport to land. Bring your cameras for great photos.
The trail was fairly busy on a Sunday late afternoon. We found parking in the closest lot although every space was full and many people were walking in from other nearby lots. Although the lots are small, we just waited a few minutes for someone to leave as people are always coming and going. Easy in and out, close to the freeways.

This attraction was fairly busy and looked daunting from the front. However, there is a trail around either side. There are steps that lead up the path, and some cool photo points. There is also a flat ledge in the hole, so it’s not as steep as it looks. This would be an awesome place to view the sunset but I believe the park closes right around sunset. We stayed about an hour.

Amazing place. It was easy to find parking and even easier to follow the main trail to the Hole in the Rock. Trail to the hole itself was an easy hike that took less than 10 minutes. There are stairs like rocks and engraving in rock itself. Advise to be careful at the top, I have seen people falling when coming through the hole or while trying yo take pictures after passing the hole. Overcrowded during sunset, so I recommend getting there before it
Ričards Špundzāns — Google review
I loved it. Awesome place to visit. Great views. A short hike up the mountain to the hole. Then you have stairs that’s very helpful going to the other side. It’s definitely worth a trip. Very relaxing.

Very interesting geology. Well worth a visit. Children who are with responsible adults would love it. There are two paths to get up to the Hole in the Rock. If you go…you pass a few parking lots until you get to the lot closet to the trails. If its full just keep driving a bit further and you will find more parking by restrooms. (I would only use them if you really need to, not very clean)

Such a gorgeous place not far at all from the city! We had just gotten off the plane, had breakfast, & wandered here. From the parking lot it appears the trail is more of a steep climb, but after asking folks that we're heading back to their car they informed us is slowly inclines and wraps around the back of the hole. I saw kids, elderly, & everyone in between, and some dogs all walking around with no issues. Just please bring water & stay hydrated!
Once you get to the hole, you do have a little climbing (nothing strenuous) over a ledge and there are stairs to walk down on the other side to sit and enjoy the city & mountain views. The trails go for a bit and all seem to loop back to the lot. Really a beautiful surprise and worth the stop!

Love love loved this little hike. The Hole in the Rock is so cool to see! The path we took was very easy to get up to the Hole. A little rocky and steep in certain places but super easy. One hundred percent recommend stopping by here if you can!

This place is more than just a great View, it also has lots of different options for hiking. You can come up here for the sunrise sunset or anytime of day for a great experience!
Eleanor Kimmell — Google review
Drive to Hole in the Rock mere 15 minutes before sunset - should have come earlier if only to take it all in for longer. There are a few (free) parking lots along the road leading up to the "trail" head, and we parked at the closest one (surprisingly there was space so close to sunset). The walk up the path was very easy, I was just wearing regular sneakers. There are stone steps leading from the entrance of the hole down to the center, so easy to enter inside as well. From below it looked like there was a big crowd in there and we thought we wouldn't be able to go inside, but upon getting to the entrance we realized the space was bigger than it seemed and there was plenty of room for the 3 of us to find a spot. The further up into the crevasse you go the more slippery it got so we stayed near the middle which still gave us an amazing view as the sun quickly dipped below the horizon. The colors of the clouds were beautiful and changed from minute to minute. We stayed until dark. There's something lovely about a large group of strangers gathered together in an alcove in a rock to watch the sunset.

I recently visited Hole in the Rock at sunrise and it was an incredible experience. The sun was just starting to rise over the horizon, casting a golden glow over the desert landscape. The hole in the rock was perfectly framed by the rising sun, and it was truly a sight to behold.
There were only a few other people at Hole in the Rock at sunrise, so I had the place to myself. The only other people were doing trail running at 90 degrees before it turned 115 later on in the day. I was able to hike to the top of the rock and take in the amazing views of the surrounding desert. It was a truly peaceful and serene experience.
There a few spots near it but you can also park closer to the Zoo for access.
The hike to the top of Hole in the Rock is short and easy, but it can be a bit steep in some places. The best time to visit Hole in the Rock is at sunrise or sunset. The light at these times of day is simply magical!
If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable way to experience the beauty of the desert, I highly recommend visiting Hole in the Rock at sunrise. It's a truly magical place.

The hike to the top is pretty easy, and you can go around either side to get to the top. Very cool formation to see and the views of the surrounding area from the top are great. There are other trails in the park as well which offer easy walking, no real hiking though. I went on the weekend earlier in the day and it was starting to get crowded when I left.

We loved this location! Easy hike and still great outdoor activity for almost anyone. No need to walk for miles or climb for hours to get a good picture of view. The place wasn’t so crowded either so you just had to wait a little before take a picture with nobody at the background. We recommend to everyone.
Amanda Goncalves — Google review
This is a great park. The hike is moderate only because it's not a lengthy climb. The views are well worth the effort. This is not wheelchair accessible but the view even from the parking and picnic areas is stunning. Saw several families with young kids make the climb just fine. I'm disappointed that some idiots have chosen to desecrate the rock by sticking their gum on it. Shame on you! Respect the beauty of nature so you preserve it for others to enjoy too!

A nice place to hike. Great view from the hill top hole. Hiking to this hill top spot is effortless and can easily hike with family (of all age group).
Decent parking space available. If we can pack food and visit, there are few shades to eat out and relax. Can spend some time around the pond after the hike.
Bharatesh Chakravarthi — Google review
What a cool experience. The rock is easily accessible by car. There’s a parking lot nearby, in fact, parking lot is the view you got once you reached the top. There are stairs going all the way up. It’s probably best seen on sunset, but sunset is also the most crowded time of the day.
Daniel — Google review
It's a different place. It is spectacular to be able to see the sunset from the top of the mountain. I loved getting there. I couldn't see it from the beginning but the ending was spectacular. a beautiful experience that the universe gives us. Don't forget to visit it.
Norma Leon — Google review
Great place for a morning or evening walk for beautiful views. This is always a go-to place to take family when they come to visit as you get to see so much of the valley without the workout.
Please keep your pets at home at this is a limited space and can cause some issues at the top. Parking directly at the trail head is limited but there is plenty of more parking spaces around this side of the park. Bathrooms are at the next parking lot after the hole in the rock.
Not recommended for someone with balance or stair concerns. The trail length one way is less than 5 min and mostly stair type climbing with no hand rails. Same with once you reach the top and enter into the cave. Be careful and watch your step and please always leave no trace

Hole in the Rock is THE place in town to view the sunset over the mountains. I heard about this location on a podcast about what to see and do in Phoenix. We arrived maybe 30 minutes before sunset and we were lucky to find a parking spot. Parking is free and there are restrooms right outside the lot.
I didn't even realize this was a hiking destination, as it's more of a brief walk and trek up to the hole itself. The hole is at the top of a sandstone rock formation that's been affected by erosion. If you want an elevated view, wear shoes with good grip.
As it's in town, there's a lot of city views. We saw maybe six plans flying in or out during sunset and all the traffic down below. The colors were gorgeous.

Great little afternoon walk. Not too much of a 'hike' feel. It did gain some half decent elevation that wore you out a little, but what it really lacked was feeling like it was in nature at all. The trails are basically though parking lots untill your right there, and once you are, the sheer number of people makes it much more like an attraction than anything. Not saying this because anything could be changed, but just because of my experience, and how it may differ from someone looking for what you would call a hike. The rock itself itself is unique, although not very pretty, however, the view of the classic Arizona city view mixing the desert landscape, the city, and luxurious palm trees and water, is awesome! It is definitely small time commitment to see it if you aren't too far away.
Jacob Seipert — Google review
This was such a cool experience. We got to watch the sunset from up there, it shows the skyline really well just as it’s about to completely set. Great place to take some nice photos. It’s not too hard of a climb either, like a 5 minute walk from the parking lot to the top!

Interesting little spot near the Pheonox Zoo. Not more than 10 min walk up the hill to the "hole in the rock"...more of a stop than a hike. Trail is not smooth, rocky and uneven. Worth a stop if in the area...not sure I would drive from far just for this.

Took my 80 yr old Mom to see the Hole in the rock. She had heart surgery 5 months prior and was totally fine walking up to it. The view was spectacular. Will go again when we are in AZ. Must see. Easy walk. Great views.

Great day here! Not too busy, was getting busier when we left about 3 p.m.
Lot to look at, but watch your step! Loose rocks and pebbles to slip on everywhere.
Patients are needed for picture taking at the opening. Everyone wants pictures, so please be courteous to each other.
The steps to the other side are great, just a bit tall for small children or slightly disabled people to navigate.
Great hikes near the Rock as well. Lots of little lizards and groundhog to watch scurry around. We saw a hummingbird zipping around, too. He was down in the wash areas.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed to see so much broken glass in all the areas we walked. That was really the only bad part of this day hike.
There is plenty of parking near rock and over by the zoo. The ranger station with bathrooms was centralized for convenience.
Dogs are welcome on leashes, but not when temperatures are over 90°, that's what the sign read.

This was a perfect spot outside of downtown Phoenix! During certain months it would be a great spot for a picnic too, at Papago park because there are lots of covered tables to provide shade. The walk up to Hole in the Rock was busy, even on a Monday. It's a great spot to experience the unique geography of AZ. A cute 0.3 mile walk where you could go either u and back, or walk completely around this stand-alone structure. It's really really accessible and good for people of any age. Some of the terrain is uneven, but never overly challenging. Great spot, free of charge.

I visited this Phoenix area attraction last week.
It is easily accessible from the nearby parking lot but the hill may be too steep for some.
It is located next to the Zoo.
The Phoenix Zoo is an enormous, privately-owned zoo in the city of Phoenix, Arizona. It is home to more than 1400 animals from all over the world, many of which are endangered species. The zoo offers a variety of exhibits and activities for visitors, including a children's area and petting zoo. The zoo's conservation efforts are also notable, as it strives to be a leader when it comes to improving peoples' lives through interaction with nature.
Extremely nice and well maintained zoo. Very big. Exhibits were well taken care of. We loved the little desert walk through. It was very reasonably priced. I think that is probably one of the best zoos I have ever been to. It was easy to navigate. Flamingos are my favorite and they had a really great exhibit with lots of birds!
Hole in the rock was very close almost within walking distance if it wasn't too hot. After the zoo we drove over and climbed up and were in awe over the view. Well worth it and I'm so glad we stopped.

Amazing zoo, very green, no plastic bags for merchandise. Animals look to be treated really well here, enclosures for the bigger animals are huge, making it seem more natural. Definitely would recommend everyone to visit if in the area, purchasing tickets online on their website will save you a couple of bucks and being able to skip the ticket booth lines if any at all.
Atmosphere was very clean, they do an impeccable job with that. If you're not a long walker, I'd recommend the scooterpals, as an adult, you can ride 2 person on it, pretty fun actually and you can unleash the kid inside you. 😁

Such a great zoo! There is so much to do every time you come. The animal exhibits are great! You can get up close to most of the animals. The zoo has entertainment for all ages here. You can ride a camel, hit the splash pad, ride the merry-go-round, and the farm area has a playground and petting zoo - so much fun! Definitely recommend coming early in the morning to see the zookeepers feed the animals. Concession stands all over the grounds, and the exhibits are well spaced out. There are tons of different event nights throughout the year, too! It's definitely worth the visit!

Great zoo in terms of animals! We came on thanksgiving day and it was a beautiful day and not too crowded. Weather was nice and cool and it felt like being in an air conditioned zoo!
I would easily give this 5 stars if they charged a little bit less. I go to a lot of zoos and this was one of the more expensive zoos I’ve been to, it was around $107 for me and my wife and my 4 year old daughter.
On top of this, if you want to do a bus shuttle thing, it’s an extra $6 a person to do it. There were these cool scooter things, and those were $5 plus around $0.35/minute. We also felt weird seeing camel rides at a zoo. Again that costs more money, but seems weird to subject camels to being ridden at a zoo for money.
Staff were nice and facilities were nice! Just seems like they could improve a few things.

The zoo was fun. Pretty packed, lots of families and strollers. It's pretty pricey, but I got a $5 discount for being a student. Any place we went to grab a snack was closed before 4.
They ran out of food to feed the sting rays before 230, so that was a bummer too. Overall, we had a great time

A Perfect Day Out at Phoenix Zoo - A Must-Visit!
We had an absolutely delightful day at Phoenix Zoo, and I cannot recommend it enough! With nearly every animal species imaginable, it's a thrilling experience for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages. The zoo is beautifully designed with ample shaded areas, providing a comfortable and cool environment even on hotter days.
What I particularly appreciated was the abundance of restrooms scattered conveniently throughout the zoo, making it easy to freshen up and keep little ones happy. The availability of water fountains also added to our comfort, ensuring we stayed hydrated as we explored.
A highlight for the kids was definitely the fun rides, perfectly suited for children, adding a touch of excitement to their educational adventure. These thoughtful amenities make Phoenix Zoo not just a place to see animals, but a full-day experience where convenience and fun go hand in hand.
Every staff member we encountered was helpful and knowledgeable, enhancing our visit with interesting facts and helpful tips. If you're looking for a family-friendly outing that combines education with entertainment, Phoenix Zoo is the place to go. Five stars all the way!

The phoenix zoo was amazing for myself, my wife my 8 year old and my 7 month year old. It was a busy day, but the lines were short, none of the attractions were crowded. They have definitely upgraded the grounds and even have venues for weddings and birthday parties.
The membership option is a great value, pays for itself in just about 2 trips. We are going back next week to see the African wildlife exhibits we missed.
Plenty of restrooms and snack stands. The petting zoo is always a hit with my kids, and I love the river stingrays and alligator exhibits. My wife thought the prairie dogs were adorable, and the carousel was a big hit. I have never been so terrified in my life, of, my baby, having a freak accident and slipping off. My stress was at a 99 out of 10.
My apologies, our pictures are more of the fun my family was having, and not the animals themselves

I will always and absolutely love this place! Coming to this zoo as a child, and as an adult now makes me so happy! They are creating new exhibits for the animals, and everyone is always trying their best to keep the place clean. The new update in the gift shop is absolutely nice! Of course the food is a bit expensive, but going at the zoo during a nice chilly day is fun!
I came along with my sister's school field trip, so we did have to wait a bit. But that's understandable.
The string ray bay was absolutely worth it! The people there with red hair, and another person were very nice to my family and I! Feeding the stingrays is so nice. And they make sure you know how to feed them.
Always be prepared to pack up snacks, and water! And always please make sure to pick up your trash!

The zoo is really nice. I like the atmosphere; walking all around watching the beautiful trees, flowers and some lovely animals.
It is amazing and you should spend half of a day, if you wanna visit all the animals.
African animals are most visited and they look so beautiful, water's side/ part is the best part of the zoo.
King lion,Rhino, Camel, greater flamingo are really lovely and giraffes are amazing.

To say I love this zoo would be an understatement! I enjoy this zoo more than the San Diego Zoo. The size is just perfect, and without a lot of steep hills. There is a lot of shade at the zoo, which is super important in Phoenix 🌞. Everything is immaculate, and the zoo employees have always been very courteous. The zoo has splash pads for the kids, a really nice merry-go-round and a tram. The animal exhibits are organized with a lot of fun information for kids. There are a lot of bathrooms 🚻, which is always helpful. Another bonus: you can take in a cooler and eat a picnic lunch by the water. We purchased a Family Zoo Membership, which is a great deal if you live nearby. Be sure to check out the Monkey Village if you go. It's very unique. Parking is free, and the walk to the gate is reasonable. The zoo rents scooters and strollers. Another huge benefit to membership: Members get in one hour early. The zoo has the usual animal exhibits that would be typical at most zoos. I am so grateful to have this zoo available to visit as a local.

The Phoenix Zoo was amazing. I traveled here from Houston, TX to see my daughter. We took my grandson to the Phoenix Zoo. He loved it. We all had a great time. This was our first visit as a family and we had such a good time. My kids were both so excited, even my teenager. It's always fun to learn about the animals and get to see them. We went when they first opened and it wasn't too busy, but it was definitely getting busier when we left 3 hours later.

Really enjoyed this zoo not too packed and definitely the petting area was our favorite especially for the kids. The best part was the camel ride which our little one got on twice on how much she enjoyed it. Would highly recommend to buy tickets only because to buy tickets at the place is a very long line. We just went and showed our tickets and we were let through with no problem. Overall very good expiration for your little ones. Will be back again.

Always clean, staff is always wonderful, and the membership is totally worth it. With the membership you can get in at 8 a.m. instead of the regular opening time of 9 a.m. which makes all the difference on hot weekends. I don't have little kids anymore, but wanted a good place to walk and get outside more, so I bought a membership to the zoo. I love it! I'm not sure I'd recommend buying a one day pass (price!) but the membership has been worth it. There's so much to see, and a variety of add-on activities like dining or rides. I love seeing the updates and new things when I go. Definitely getting my money's worth from my pass!

Hands down the BEST zoo I've been too! There's sooo much to do! The zoo itself is spacious and you can tell workers take pride of their work.

This zoo was a lot of fun to go to! We got there right at 9am and was able to finish by noon (that’s without stopping frequently for food and drink and doing activities)
Walking around is not bad here. For the most part, it’s pretty flat and not super hilly. Lots of cool and unique animals to see
Staff was super helpful and informative and looked like they actually enjoy their jobs caring for the animals and teaching

We went to the Zoo Lights show and loved everything about the experience. Because it was dark, we did not see the animals - but would love to go back for that as well. Parking was easy, staff was very helpful and organized. Lights and music were fantastic. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed every second.

Plan at least 4+ hours if you want to see all the animals. It is a huge zoo, both in size and in the variety of animals on exhibit. The Arizona landscape in the savanna area adds a wonderful element of authenticity and ambience that other zoos don't have. There are lakes, little islands for monkeys to call home without netting, and so much to see. This is a wonderland for children as well. Lots to do to keep them entertained all day.
It's definitely worth the $40/person for adult admission. And if you live in the area, the membership is well worth the investment as well.
Highly recommended.

I took my daughter here for the first time as we moved out of state and are here visiting. She had a great time. We were there for 2 hours, and I didn't feel like it was enough time!
They have some great play houses for kids, and of course, a merry go round. They also have a small splash pad area, and you can even rent a large stuffed animal to ride on.
My daughter is a year and a half, and she particularly liked playing with the statues by the exhibits as well as looking at the elephant and orangutan.
The zoo is really large, and I did feel lost a few times. However, you can download a map, and they have street signs pointing to exhibits to help you out.
Be prepared on the weekends to park far and walk. The parking is limited as there's no garage, only 1 parking lot. However, there's a nearby fishing area and trail to walk up to a lookout rock that has additional parking, and you can easily walk with a stroller.

This is a great zoo. My kids had an awesome time. They have a lot of exhibits and also places to eat and playgrounds. My kids loved the petting zoo the most. The flamingos and orangutan were also pretty popular. They have a big beautiful lake with islands that different animals hang out on, and it has a beautiful mountain backdrop. We were really glad we got membership passes.

Had a ton of fun here the rooms were fantastic not too expensive and well-maintained Dash very clean.
The casino was very fun and absolutely smoke-free, huge plus for me. Everybody was extremely friendly. Walked away a good winner at blackjack, roulette, and craps… All three of those paid out well definitely above the odds.
They even have a little sports bat.

Honestly this was one of the best stats I’ve had. The rooms were quite spacious and smelled fresh and clean the bathrooms were in great condition mirrors clean tubs appeared brand new. The beds were crazy comfortable the resort as a whole was very neat and in order the gambling floor didn’t smell of cigarettes and mildewy carpet restaurants were simply delicious. Put it this way I left with the feeling of wanting to come back.

It's a great looking casino and the rooms are very nice. I can overlook how tight the machines can be and I can understand paying an exorbitant amount of money for liquor and beer b/c so many people still are willing to throw away good money here; but it's inexcusable to have started to charge a resort fee of ~$32/night especially for those of us with a gold card. I sure as hell hope that Platinum members would have the fee waived when using their comped rooms but there's no reason for me to ever play as much as I used to in order to get to that level when seeing absolutely ZERO merit to having gold status. It's pure greed on your part Gila and shows your utter contempt for your paying guests.
You also don't even get a bottled water in your room for the resort fee.

Took the family to the Cafe for dinner. We were seated very quickly by an awesome man. The Asian waitress passed us by a dozen times over a fifteen minute period. She finally took our order and we continued to sit there for another hour and fifteen minutes. We were finally able to get her attention to ask when the food was to come. She said to just wait, there was another 5 tables ahead of us. We watched the whole Cafe rotate diners. She never did put the orders in.. we just left. So sad to reflect on a great casino with bad servers like that.

The location is good as it’s fairly close to Phoenix and has a mall next door. The food is yummy, and staff is very friendly. The reason I gave rooms a 3 star is: -no bathrobes or slippers, for a “resort” that is pretty standard, - no water stations (hello, we’re in the desert!) and hard to find ice machines. they didn’t offer me water at check in even though I saw a huge water fridge behind the desk. - no room service. Seriously?? - no mini bar. - small and low quality bathroom products. I’ve seriously had better at Homewood Suites. So overall I would say this hotel is lovely but NOT a “resort,” and if you’re just looking for a comfortable place to stay inside a casino, then it’s great.

I was at Gila River Resort for 4 days for a conference. Some might have entered the casino but that not my thing. The rooms are very clean and nice, conference hall and outdoor meeting place very nice. We power walked in the mornings and enjoyed fine dining at night. I highly recommend this location.

It is so beautiful here. We were on a company trip/competition and we had an absolutely amazing time. They weren't completely done with some of the newer features that they were adding on, like the rooftop dining or a couple of extra bar areas, but everything else that was completed was absolutely beautiful. Everything is very clean and orderly, the staff is amazing and very friendly, and the food was good. We personally don't gamble, but people we were with who did loved the casino. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is very big, they have a smaller pool off to the side which has the water depth better for kids, and a smaller hot tub to relax in if you'd like to relax while the kids play but still keep an eye on them, and there are plenty of chairs, tables, and even cabanas for all. We are definitely going back for a personal vacation when the rooftop is done. I recommend staying here

Casino and hotel lobby is hopping w/out overwhelming. Sports betting avail with theater-size screen TV. Their 5star restaurant on top floor is unrivaled & romantic. Specialty mini cocktail gets you started compliments of the hour. Superior cuts of steak grilled to perfection and plenty of sea food, French and new American cuisine dishes. Expect to pay $$$$, but there are reasonable options for salads, soup and fancy smaller dishes. Go at night for a better and romantic view of the streets and highway lights, since the Resort is secluded.

This is a great resort. From the front staff to the pool staff... Even the guests were great. Such a friendly environment and Native owned.
The pool/ hot tub is such a treat. If you are in the Phoenix area you definitely need to check this resort out.
There's an amazing steakhouse, casino, a top golf bar and so much more to explore.

Gila River does it right! I've been to 2 Vertical Track events at Gila River and it was a 5 star experience each time. Very well done. The staff are top notch. The room and amenities were excellent. I enjoyed the pool as well. The restaurants and bars were excellent and the casino itself was a great experience too. Thank you and please continue setting the bar high!

Went specifically to go to Prime Steakhouse. Food, service, and views were exquisite! We opted to get full service at the bar, and everything was on point. Service was friendly, efficient, and all-around enjoyable. We will definitely be back, and I would certainly suggest you check out this spot!

From the minute I walked in the door I felt very welcome. Staff was friendly and they were very accommodating when my flight was changed and I arrived very early. The room was very nice and very clean. I did have to call for a drain plug for the bath tub but someone brought it very quickly. The pool area was very nice and relaxing with great service from the bar. The Casino seemed like it had a lot of options as far as games and slots. There was a decent amount of restaurants to choose from and there was a really great coffee shop which I visited several times 😊 We were happy with the amount of security in the parking lot and in and around the casino. We were very happy with our stay we actually went back a few nights later and my husband stays from time to time due to working in the area. I definitely recommend this casino and I hope to go back soon!

RUDY made our check-in smooth and fast - super helpful and friendly. The room was clean and luxurious! Looked new. The event was amazing, and all service was fantastic. The food was exceptional at every meal. 5 stars doesn't cover the hard work these folks do to make it look easy!!!!!!

I actually love this casino and service until they just decided to close down the high limit bar section. This was my favorite area for drinks, lounge while cooling off during playing. Also had great employees there who were social. They decided to have more slots as it it was needed. Horrible mistake, might not go back again unless it goes back to the same.

Professional Drivers, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! If I could give it zero stars , I would. Was approached by security, before I could even stop, way way in the back of an empty parking lot. He was very passive aggressive and rude (I call it nice nasty) about me parking on property... After all, they used to have truck parking before the renovations..and there is a huge football field of empty space roped off. When I asked about why they don't have parking anymore, security's response was: "Go to the casino down the street, they have semi parking there." I was really looking forward to just wind down a little bit. I only spend my money where I'm respected. I urge you to do the same. People will learn respect when they start losing money behind it.

On vacation.
In Arizona, not staying at the casino resort, so no rating on the rooms. Just went inside to see the atmosphere and have a quick bite for dinner. I had a couple slices at the rizzo's pizza place and a drink, A bit on the pricey side. Played a couple of the easy slots but didn't really win too much. It's a nice enough atmosphere inside if you like this kind of thing, And they have MGM betting rooms and a fancy steakhouse, They also have a Fat burger inside, believe it or not, As well as a few other restaurant choices. I'm not big on betting. I just went in to see what it looked like. It's easy enough to get in and out of and the parking is free.

Matt, Henry, and Thomas ( didn’t quite catch the name but I think it was Thomas, he was my host) and the last person was up at the steakhouse I think his name was Vic but again I can’t be sure. This is the first review I’ve ever written a review ever. and I’ve got to say I’m doing it because I really did have a great time and the people deserve recognition. From the very first moment we walked in and the front desk ladies greeted us with such Hospitality to that genuine smiles. And then going later to Shelia’s steakhouse and being greeted by a great staff and the general manager or person in charge did so many attention details it was awesome. The next night at the high limits not only my dealer but the pit boss were very very respectful and hospitable. not sure if the hotel was connected to the golf course but the golf course there was awesome and the staff were wonderful. I I am definitely going back this was a great getaway for my wife and I. I am happy to give my full name which is Mark Thering. if you have further inquiries you can Google my name and get my cell number. Thank you again for wild horse staff for showing my wife and I a great time. You could not have done anything better.

We chose Wild Horse Pass for a corporate retreat and they exceeded our expectations. We had less than a month to coordinate for 65+ people. Their team was fantastic from helping confirm rooms (even as we were updating at the last minute), to setting up the Ball Room for our presentations and meals. We couldn't have pulled it off without their help. Given the location, accommodations, pool, restaurants on-site, etc., it's a great place for a corporate event. We will use them again!

This has been my go to place these past few years… everything from their front-end and support staff (Guest representatives, Valet, Housekeeping, Casino, & Restaurant personnel), amenities, restaurants, casino, and accommodations have been nothing short of amazing. Their facilities are every much the 4 Stars they are rated. I feel at home and the staff ensures that you feel valued for choosing their resort. As a frequent traveler, it is rare to find a gem like this. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a resort full of individual and family fun. Five Stars ✨ all the way…

Love this place… visit as often as possible to just relax and sit out on balcony and take in the view of our beautiful natural surroundings. Always has a good vibe and the food was exceptional up on the rooftop restaurant. I haven’t had 5 star service this good. Retired to my room and slept incredibly. On my way out the next day I threw a couple of bucks in a machine and ended up leaving with a W-G for my taxes. Win/Win situation if you ask me! Can’t wait to dine rooftop on the next special occasion. The tomahawk steak is exceptional. Thank you Wild Horse Pass for letting ME DO ME!

Walked from truck stop to casino. Sidewalks need improvement or a shuttle would be welcomed. Dropped and lost my Harley-Davidson money clip. Was found by staff cleaning. Was already empty ( I lost ) but was turned in. Very commendable for the staffs honesty. Was returned to me by mail at no charge. I would have paid and told them I would do so but they mailed to me at no charge. Great people there. Thank you for your help to return my possession. Very commendable for your staff !!

Went to see The Cult on 10/26 @ Wild Horse Pass. The band was as excellent as ever. Not sure what the venue staff are hoping to accomplish here. As far as crowd management, they get you in pretty quickly. They have decided to provide a GA area for those who want to stand and be close. However, once the performance starts, the ushers seem to disappear in the seated areas. This is the third show I've seen where people are allowed to stand in the aisles. Meaning, if you paid for a reserved seat, you still have to tend to people standing in front of you as well as from the sides. Really frustrating. I could barely see the top of the band's heads. As mentioned, there was no one to be found to usher people away from the aisle. And, there were plenty of people standing just before the seating area. If there was a fire, most would be trampled to death. I hope someone from WHP reads this as I am not sure I'll be back. If I wanted a GA experience, I wouldn't bother to pay for a seat.

I stayed with a friend for a weekend getaway. I have to say, we had an amazing time. It was friendly, inviting, the Christmas decorations were nice and the staff was extremely friendly. We didn’t have time to get a reservation for dinner but that will be next on my list to stay and check out the dining that is available, I’ve heard great things so I am excited to go back!

Recently we had a conference at the Gila, I give it 5 stars for the Business Center alone. Maria was wonderful to work with. I contacted her before we even arrived, informing her of the packages we were sending and how many. She contacted me when they arrived and made sure that they were in our room when we got there so we didn't have to go hunting for them. We had some large packages to ship back. She made sure that they were all wrapped and ready to go at the end of the conference. Sent me all the tracking numbers and copies of the documents. I wish I could take her with me to all our conferences! What a pleasure to work with her.

I've been here twice. Both times, I've only come to the casino. The parking garage was easy to use. The players' card line was never that long. One day I lost a few hundred. The next I won. I like the table games. If I visit the area again I'm likely to go back.

I didn't stay at the venue as an overnight guest. That's why there is no room score.
I didn't gamble, although I walk around with a complementary no alcoholic beverage.
I attended a concert and the venue was perfect for people who love smaller functions. Every seat in the house would be a great seat. I was surprised with my seat. It was actually better than I expected however it was rather pricey. If you're on a budget, remember all seats have a great view.
In fact, the upper level could be considered better. If you had a tall person in front of you or people standing in the 100 section. It could block your view and camera. My seat was section 203, seat 13. It had a nice ledge to hold your beverage and/or purse.

Went for a concert. I had not been in that venue before. Had a great time as there isn't a bad view and how close the artists are since the venue is a lot smaller than an arena. Would definitely come back for another concert

The 5 star reviews must be written by people who have never been to a resort and have no clue what a resort is supposed to be like. Like one review mentioned, there is no complementary water anywhere, which is very interesting, considering we are in the desert. No coffee available in the morning, no breakfast, nothing. If you want coffee, you will have to walk upstairs and pay $7 for it at Starbucks. I’ve never even seen as much as a cheap Holiday Inn that doesn’t offer free coffee to its guests. No smart TV, so you cant watch anything unless you pay your right arm for a movie or show. No laundry room, which is really tough on people who are here for work. We ended up having to go to a laundromat in town 15 minutes away to wash our clothes. The absolute worst part is that almost all of the rooms are conjoining rooms no soundproof doors, so you will most definitely be in a room where you can hear absolutely everything that your neighbor is doing. For us, that meant extremely loud music all night long. Last but not least, everyone working in the casino is incredibly condescending and rude. We heard them speak extremely aggressively and demeaningly to multiple people who were sitting there spending much more than we were. It seems like Customer Service 101 to treat your most valuable customers with respect. Overall, to have this experience at a place where you are coming in likely spending thousands of dollars to stay and gamble was just ridiculous.

We went to see the band War. Concert was Great! Venue needs improvement. Arrangement of seats makes it impossible to see stage. Luckily there were two large screens for viewing. I also saw several people struggling to get in and out of seats. They do not accommodate large people. All said War was great! We did not stay at the hotel.

The Musical Instrument Museum is the world's only global musical instrument museum, displaying more than 15,000 pieces of music-related equipment from around the world. Highlights include a range of displays for iconic musicians such as Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Carlos Santana. The museum is located just twenty minutes drive north of the city center.
Amazing! If your wondering if you should visit, the answer is yes! What a great museum! Clean, bright, well laid out, easy to follow. You will get a clean pair of headphones that play all the video clips showing on the screens in each display. We spent 4.5 hours here, our kids enjoyed it too. Their favorite was the Experience Room where you can play a variety of instruments. We also were lucky enough that we caught an impromptu concert in the patio by the Navy Southwest Brass Band. The museum was packed, but never felt crowed. Other then a few annoying people shouting conversations out loud, it was a great overall experience. Staff were all super kind and friendly.
Great value!

What a pleasant surprise for me and my family. I visited MIM during Teacher Aappreciation week and enjoyed free admission and a gift catalog which was of very good quality. We were an all-adult group of 4 and we had a blast! The exhibits were organized by region, and we walked around the world learning about music and history. Some exhibits were interactive videos with audio headsets. We did the self-guided tour. A lot of walking, but there were plenty of seats to take a break. The experience room was a unique place where visitors can try playing all kinds of instruments. The museum restaurant, Cafe Allegro, did not disappoint. We all purchased some unique items in the gift shop. Give yourself plenty of time. Our group spent 5 hours there !

Really can’t say enough about this place. I’m not even a Musical person, but I was just blown away by this museum. Way larger than I expected, with absolutely beautiful grounds that can be enjoyed when the weather finally breaks! Not only will you see a vast variety of instruments, But also outfits and costumes worn by stars. So many historical instruments, beautifully arranged by region, as well as by instrument type. If I, as a non-musical person loved it, I cannot imagine how much a musical person will enjoy this place.

Very cool visit. First off though…this is a big museum. If you want to see and read and interact with it all..leave yourself at least two days. If you can navigate topically through it, a full single day.
Well presented, good use of technology with their headsets. Hands on space for kids. Good was museum pricing, but really good and good quantities. Will be back for sure just to finish it!

Wow! Had such a fantastic time here. There are instruments from all over the world grouped by country or genre. You get audio devices that let you listen to the music from each section as you pass along. There’s a room of interactive instruments at the end by the cafe. The museum is well curated and organized. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Phoenix.

This is a wonderful experience for ALL ages!!! The Experience Exhibit is a fantastic room where children and adults can play with many of the instruments seen throughout the museum. Highly recommend stopping if you're looking for an, at your own pace, adventure. Almost all of the exhibits provide attendees the ability to listen to and see the instruments being played in their natural environment. For listening, the museum provides the wireless receiver and wired headset. We spent almost three hours here!!!

This is a wonderful place, not just for musical instruments, but also history and geography and cultures from around the world.
Each country display has a map where the country is located, and instruments (and costume /dress) used in that location. The headphones will link to the videos playing on that display screen, which show a few clips of the music in that region, using the instruments you see on display.
There are also displays of musical instrument manufacturers, and displays of each kind of instrument.
There is a coffee shop and an outdoor area where there was a live performance that day. The outdoor area is gorgeous, with covered tables, shaded trees areas, water features and landscaping.
You are not permitted to carry water or any food or drink through the museum. I had to check my water bottle at the front.
Everyone working was very kind, friendly, and helpful! One lady told me that they have live performances most nights of the week.
It is more affordable to buy the membership if you plan on going more than once - which would be great to see more! There is so much here, I had to miss areas since I was only there for 2.5 hours.
Overall wonderful place with a wonderful atmosphere!

This is one of the best museums that we've visited! Visitors get a headset that pairs with videos at each display. We spent 4 hours on the main floor, and there was still more to see! They have a big room with hands-on instruments for exploration and experimentation as well as a cafe and a restoration viewing area on the main floor. The upstairs features the history of music and instruments from every continent. It was definitely worth the$20 admission.

What a fantastic museum!! Really loved going through each exhibit but I wished we had more time in okie schedule to see everything. There were free tours that happen every other hour, which is great, but they breeze through everything. My husband and I eventually broke away from the group so that we could take our time and look at everything. We’ll be back!!!

Considering that the museum is of musical instruments, it is larger than I expected it to be. Very immaculately curated with instruments from every corner of the world.
The geographic arrangement along with a proximity enabled audio tour is well orchestrated. As soon as you arrive at a display your audio tour connects to the correct audio allowing you to hear the instrument being displayed. Fading as you walk away only to connect to the next display. Very well done!
One could spend a full day easily. We did.
A must see if you are visiting Scottsdale.

There is so much to see here! The audio box with headphones provides a guided tour with a lot of information. There is a room with many instruments that can be played and touched, but the museum overall isn't ideal for young children. Recommended for anyone interested in musical instruments and history. Very large collection from all over the world.

If you like music, history, cultures around the world this is a great place to visit. I especially enjoyed seeing instruments and hearing music from places my ancestors came from. Amazing, amazing, amazing. And sensational.
Hundreds of years of history in a single building. Free parking. $20 per person to go and see music history over the past 1000 years and by continent.
Truly inspiring and worth the drive to north Scottsdale. Make sure to spend at least a few hours there to really experience this place. Great food, too!
The special exhibit was not worth it but the cost was very low so no regrets. But I do recommend you avoid the upsell

Incredible collection of musical instruments from around the world with detailed history. The headphones and audio box provided added immensely to the experience. As you walk through from display to display it automatically plays the sound and music from that display. We ended up spending about three hours here and didn’t fully experience everything. Huge collection of modern day instruments and artifacts like Johnny Cash’s suit and guitar and Taylor Swift clothing. Plus massive areas on the second floor from regions and countries throughout the world with traditional music. Amazing place that we’re already planning our next visit to see more of.

This is one of my favorite museums ever. It displays a very extensive collection of musical instruments, separated by country and, in a few cases (say, huge countries like China and India), by regions within the country. You get an audio device that automatically tuned in to a given TV set for that country/region. Each TV loops through a few (3 to 5) short videos showcasing the instruments in the display area. Very effective in giving you an idea of how that the musical heritage of that area is all about. Highly recommended when in Phoenix. Make reservations for a specific entry time.

As amazing as a museum can get! The Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix was so much fun. I had no idea what to expect upon entering the museum, but my expectations were exceeded. You're given a headset that automatically connects to the sounds within each exhibit - mind blown. It's such a simple thing but it's very effective. The global, what I'll call "world tour", exhibits on the second floor of instruments from all over the world was so cool. Little did I know that these many instruments existed!
This museum isn't just for music lovers though, it's perfect for art lovers as well. The craftsmanship, art, and painting on some of these instruments will literally take your breath away. The ingenuity of people from the past, and hearing the sounds that they once heard was surreal and really touching. My favorite items were the collection of music boxes on the first floor; they were delightful.
I highly recommend visiting this museum! I wish I had more time to explore, so definitely set aside a few hours to take your time and be present with all the sounds and sights.
Side-notes: I did not reserve tickets in advance, and was able to purchase tickets the day that I visited which was on Saturday. There is a parking lot that is quite large.

This was our favorite attraction on our trip to Scottsdale! It’s only a half hour away in Phoenix and a must see for a music lover! They have an extensive collection of instruments from all over the world and from famous music composers and musicians. It’s a guided audio tour so you can listen to the music and sounds of the instruments and various cultures while you watch the monitors. It was such a fun learning experience. They have some instruments downstairs for you to try to play and helpful guides throughout. We were there for 3 hours and felt like we could have stayed longer to finish it all. One guide told us the whole tour is 6 hours. Well worth the price! There’s also regular concerts held in their music hall. We weren’t able to see one the week we were in town but next time we come I’d check their schedule for that experience. They also have exhibits that change like the acoustics feature now. We had such a great time here we would definitely come back again

This is a great musical instrument with music from around the world. It is a bit overwhelming. I would suggest seeing a few places around the globe, taking a break, and jumping back in.
What do they have? Free parking, picnic area, restaurant, gift shop, multiple rooms where you can listen to music, read the posts, and look at the instruments from all over the world and different time periods. From African ancient music to Price and Elvis. There is a room to play a variety of musical instruments and you can even ring a big Gong!
We got a bonus as a worker at the gift shop, who taught us how to use the sounding bell thing (already forgot the name, but they use it in yoga today).
I would 100% recommend buying tickets in advance.
There were many kids' tours going through (not MIM lead), literally, only one adult leading the tour was extremely loud. We avoided him, which made it more enjoyable.
Check it, listen to some music, learn some history, enjoy life.

Located in the Gila River Indian Community near Tempe, KOLI Equestrian Center provides a range of horseback riding experiences such as guided trail rides, hay wagon rides, cattle drives and special events for both private and corporate groups. Riders can enjoy scenic views while being guided by trained horses that respond to reins and gentle taps on their heels instead of just following other horses.
I went a few weeks back for my mom's birthday and we had a great time! We went for an hour and a half horse back riding trip and it was so much fun! The people running all of it are so much fun and so lively! They truly are having a great time there! The trail itself was alittle dusty, but again your in a desert so it was expected. But such a great time to ride in the morning! I would definitely come back again!

Worth every minute!!! Tristan and crew were very friendly and professional. Booked a private ride to see the wild horses. Our rides, Heather and Billy, were calm but responsive. We found an amazing heard of horses to observe and explore. They surrounded us and were curious to interact. It was amazing watching the interactions and see the new foul. It was time well spent for a rare and priceless experience. Would book again in a heartbeat. No horse experience necessary.

I took my boyfriend here to go on a horse ride for a late birthday present. We had such a good time! We went to the margarita sunset ride. The ride was an hour long, and the horses were trained to respond to the reins and gentle taps from the heels, rather than just following the other horses. The employees were very entertaining and kind. At the end we all got margaritas and chips with salsa! It was definitely a good time and I want to go back for private lessons!

We had the best experience with the KOLI Equestrian Center, it was our favorite part of our trip to AZ! We rode as part of the "Mustangs and Massages" package thru the AjiSpa. Our trail ride was so much fun, our guide was outstanding, and our horses were well trained, well cared for, and beautiful. The 90 minute morning horseback ride was a perfect amount of time (though this momma was a little sore the next day - ha ha) and was leisurely, yet still exciting and fun. I would FOR SURE recommend this riding center and the guides for anyone looking to do a bit of horseback riding in the Phoenix area. I am already wanting to go back for the Margarita Sunset ride. :) Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My daughter does the kids club here and loves it. Robert is her favorite trainer and he’s so patient and makes the kids laugh and enjoy the riding. The fact that it’s 90 minutes is great and that a trail ride is included is huge for me. I like the flexibility of booking to help with various events in our life. Wrangler Sylvia and Felix were wonderful I loved riding lighting very surprised how the horses were well behaved and not hard to stir. Recommend hands down

Tristan is great! We booked a one hour private ride & had 0 experience in riding. Within minutes of getting on we were confident. Pleasant views & conversation the entire ride. Excited to take others with us next time.

My brother and I did the 60 minute margarita sunset ride with Silvia, and it was perfect. She was very knowledgeable about the horses and passionate too. The horses were tame and easy to ride. The train was pretty smooth as well and perfect for beginners. After the ride, we had margaritas which were strong enough and a great ending. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful activity.

I booked an early sunrise ride with Sylvia and she was lovely. I haven't been on a horse in about 20 years and have never ridden Western before but Sylvia made me feel absolutely comfortable.
Thank you Sylvia for a great memory!

Wonderful experience for wife's 60th birthday. 90 minute private ride. Amazing guide. Got to mingle with herd of wild horses. Truly memorable experience.

The desert is flat and wide which makes such a beautiful sunrise for the morning ride. The horse I rode was Bucky and he was so easy to handle and very well behaved. Very affordable ride, if I lived locally, I'd come here all the time. Thanks for the fun time, Ben! 😃

This was the highlight of our trip! We stayed at the Sheraton Grand Wild Horse Pass Resort. Koli offered free transportation to and from this resort. Everyone at Koli were very friendly and welcoming. I had my 8 & 9 year old with me and they were so patient with them. The ride itself was beautiful and our guide was amazing. Overall, a fantastic experience and I highly recommend them!

My husband and I loved our time here! Robert was a fantastic, fun, and friendly guide. The horses were fun and being able to watch the sunrise was beautiful! For anyone with sensitivities like asthma, you might want to bring a mask as there was more dust than us amateurs anticipated :) No bags allowed, so keep that in mind!

We could not have asked for a better horseback riding experience. My girlfriend and I booked a private ride with KOLI Equestrian Center. Our guide went above and beyond to give us a knowledgeable, safe, and fun experience. Whether you are a novice or advanced at riding, KOLI considers your individual needs. We asked questions about the land, comfortably shared stories, and were fortunate enough to have an incredible sighting of the wild horses close to our path. We laughed, learned, and LOVED every minute of our experience! It is so clear that the KOLI team is dedicated to their beautiful animals, the safety of their guests, and the respect of the land. We HIGHLY recommend KOLI; we are so grateful we found them!

Resort combining straightforward rooms & suites with a casino offering slots, table games & poker.
We like staying in the older rooms still. They are still nice and roomy. Staff is usually pretty good about helping you with whatever needs you may need. They have decent security. Decent slots, and odds. Also, we like the fact we get our rewards points, which lead to free game play, free rooms, free stays, money towards food from any of their restaurants. Its a nice place. Only thing is the location. Its so far from everything!

Rooms were beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. Wasn't crazy about the pillows too thin. Very friendly employee 's. Sasha was very friendly and helpful at the dinner banquet. Looking forward to coming back next year for the DAV convention. Or I might be back sooner. The pool was big and beautiful. Met some really nice people at the pool. The food at Copper cactus was really good. Great prices. Had a salad at the Agave best salad I ever had,it was huge. I will definitely be back to this Casino Thank You for a wonderful experience.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary, and we got a King mini suite. The room was spacious and very clean. We asked if they could make little accommodations to make it special since we were celebrating something special they stated they could not. We were kinda disappointed since we did pay a good amount of money, and this is a Resort. Other than that, it was ok.

Harrah's Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino is a very nice facility. My room was impeccably clean. I also liked the modern features that the room had. One interesting thing is that you need your room key to activate the lights in the room this has its pros and cons. Also, don't plan on trying to check in early or the hotel will charge you an extra fee. The restaurants and entertainment are very good. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I stayed here recently, it was a last minute best “cheap” hotel I could find for my day I was driving through Phoenix. I arrived super late at night, and was actually very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. It exceeded my expectations in service, cleanliness, and room upkeep👍🏼. I really expected the hotel to be much more dated and old in person. I had the luxury room in the 2 story complex with the patio. Was very large, clean, and convenient patio access to the truck. The food at the Agave’s restaurant was good too.
*Only thing I must say is their pool remodelling is ugly👎🏼. On certain pictures online, you see where there is an extension of the pool with water/stairs in between the row of palm trees. Looks very nice, and that’s what I was expecting it to look like currently. I was sure that THIS was the pool post remodelling, but no. They completely demolished that, and the pool looks like a regular pond. So, the pictures of a basic pool is actually the current look. Don’t know why they did this, but it literally made the pool area look cheaper🤷🏻♀️. Oh well, some architect really screwed up. *

I'm staying here 1-13-2023
The casino smoking area is tiny. Hate it! This is primarily a non smoking facility. The diamond/7 Star lounge is closed!! SO VERY DISAPPOINTING‼️
The room are nice.
Staff is very nice. Machines are tighter than a water Buffalo butt!!!
You are out in the middle of nowhere, either have a rental car or be stuck. Cabs out here are very expensive! No valet, no curbside ATTENDANTS. It is nice that you can order drinks on the
screen menu of the slot Machines. This casino has Mostly video games. Very little old school reel slots. Maybe 30 if that.
Not coming back!!

The room was nice, but there is no service. If you need anything, it is left by the door in a plastic bag. You have to ask for new towels, toilet paper and very few employees smile. The pool is okay, but they need tables. The pool side service was better on Saturday but Friday was not great. The waiters took only one order at a time so it took a long time to make it around the pool. So many rules about umbrellas. The drinks by the pool are weak. The Chop Block was delicious, and the service was very good.

The only issues I had were the hours of the gym and the restaurant. The gym opened too late for my hour of workout, and the restaurant used too much cooking oil in what was supposed to be a healthy meal. The manager did offer to correct the obvious. The room appearance and counter service were awesome. The location is outside the big city, but yet one has family entertainment, restaurants, and lounges connected to the hotel. Entertainment includes movie theater, bowling, and an arcade.

I did not stay at the hotel. I had a great time in the casino. There was a good variety of slots and tables. The best part... The majority of the casino is smoke free. There's a smoking section and the smoke filters into the rest of the casino, but it is much better than a traditional smoking casino. If I'm in the area again then I'll be stopping by.

It is a bit of a drive for me, but the rooms are great. Clean and functional, updated and in good condition. The bed is actually comfortable, and there is hot water.
The casino is fun and they have a huge variety of machines. We had some luck with a few of them, nice walking out with at least what you came in with.
Restrooms are always clean and in functional order, and they are spaced so that you don't have far to go for one.
Service: I haven't tried their restaurants, so I can't speak to those, but every employee we came in contact with was very helpful and kind.

This is a smaller Casino. It seems to be well taken care of. It was nice to see the Native American artwork and how it varies by tribe. The bartender that we had was very attentive. He recommended drinks similar to what we ordered. The gameplay at this casino seemed dull with not much activity or action. Odds seemed low and the playing floor is fairly small. There were a few quick service and full service restaurant choices. Our time there was enjoyable.

I was just giving a friend a ride but I did take a peak of the room. WOW!! This is a really, really nice resort. Other than it appeared the pool was closed, a little chilly for the pool but beautiful grounds and awesome atmosphere. I wasn't rude to ask the price for the room but knowing my friend I'd guess cheap and totally worth it! Nice views of farmland and empty desert for hundreds of feet. Not ideal of a location unless you're going this way but much like the Morongo in CA this place is surprisingly gorgeous.

This was a new way of playing bingo games. Very friendly staff very helpful. Nice big room . The game order was different but easy to follow. Session are long but move fast. The floor person can sell the extra games and bonus games at your seat . Very cool over all I enjoyed this bingo hall. I didn't win but was impressed with the pay. Higher then any I've seen. Worth the drive .

I'm sorry but I have to give this place good ratings. I'll be upfront and say that I work for Caesars Entertainment, which this part of, so there wasn't anything I found in my visit that wasn't what I expected. It is a nice location with many restaurants and other entertainment right on property. Jesse (security) who was at the door we entered greeted us with that family style method and was very cordial while talking. She was multitasking well with other guests coming in while I had her a little distracted talking about the differences between here and Las Vegas. Overall it is a very nice looking property.

We had a mid week team meeting here, clean rooms, nice bed, but pillows were way too small, fiber filled junk.
The meeting room was nice, with a quiet environment. The AV was ok, but the TV used as a presentation screen should have been bigger for the size of the room.
The food and drinks catered were very good in the meeting space.
The exterior was very nice desert scape with interesting plants and rock features.
Over enjoyed the stay.

The hotel rooms are immaculate & nicely updated. The rain head shower is large, big enough for 6 people, but worked well for just 1. :)
I’ve stayed at Harrah’s/ Caesars properties all over the country & this one is definitely in the top 5! Very nice!
Very close to shopping & dining. They even have a bowling alley & theatre on the property.
First time I’ve ever felt bad the casino didn’t make money off me.

Worst casino ever. I highly encourage everyone to pick somewhere else. The staff overall is horrible. The room was ok although I wasn't able to enjoy the experience. I have been to many casinos and if I was ever asked for a review, this one would easily be at the bottom the list without hesitation. If I had any encouragement or recommendation it would be to put your honesty, integrity, and ethics at the forefront of your operation. One of the establishments core values is integrity, and in my opinion their most important, but it was not shown during my families stay. I hope that this establishment can take a second look at their core values and operate under these values. My experience was far from ethical.

The hotel is fine, it's nice, clean, and hotel is non-smoking. Casino is about 70% non-smoking. The pillows were small..very odd. Bring a wall plug in for your charging needs, you'll have to pull out the bedside table to access a plug in. Pool is gorgeous! There is no housecleaning service under a 4 night stay, showers are huge with great water pressure. Bed was comfortable. There is a refrigerator.

Excellent stay this weekend! Wish there was an option for the fan to run when the ac shuts off but that's just a personal preference. Dinner and service were excellent at Chop Block and Brew. The next morning had a delicious breakfast at Agave restaurant. The server was spot on and the Manager was eveb helping out around the restaurant which you seldom see. Great service and friendly employees at this casino. Will definitely be back!

Worst hotel I have ever been to. You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT check in until 4 and the bar closes at 5 with no exceptions. If you try to check in 2 minutes early, they rudely tell you to wait 2 more minutes or pay $35. Which is fine if they were not so rude. Everything closes extremely early so do not count on being outside of your room past 8pm for anything. The rooms have no microwave, tiniest fridge in the world, and plumbing is backed up. I have never once complained on any type of platform but I wholeheartedly would recommend saving your money by not spending it on this awful place. It also smells like you’re literally in the sewer. I am genuinely upset I spent $200 on this POS.

I don’t understand how this hotel gets a rating of 8 or 10. Don’t be fooled! This hotel is a dump! Understood that it’s an older casino so it doesn’t have all the newer slots like other casinos. We ordered coffee; waited an hour, coffee never came. I finally asked the sever, who came to my playing area twice but never brought our drinks, why. She immediately said that there were only 2 servers and they can’t handle all the orders quick enough! And the BIGGEST disappointment about our stay was they don’t clean the rooms everyday. You have to stay a minimum of FOUR days to get your room cleaned! GROSS!! Did i mention that the casino smells like manure?? I just learned that the casino is located near a dairy farm and that explains that, but…..
Chase Field is a sports stadium in downtown Phoenix that is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks and also hosts other major sporting events and concerts. The stadium has a retractable roof that can be configured for different sports, and it's one of the largest in the United States.
Great venue and employees. Fun stadium to visit. If and when they start, there use to be a nice tour of it. Recently watched a football bowl game there. The upper deck was actually a nice view, but don't go above row 25, if you are over 35.

Fantastic experience at the Ballpark! Great view. Fabulous drinks. Tipped up the elevator to see the new bar n grill, Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers, and it is incredible. $25 and $50 seats give you a view of the game plus a meal. Definitely recommend

I have been to this stadium for Dbacks games and the world baseball classic and I enjoyed both. I like that this venue has a great atmosphere outside the building before you even get to the game. Inside the views are amazing and the seats are great. The food and drink was also very well done, I will give it a 8.1/10. One thing I really like is the batters eye area with the massive scoreboard. If you are in the area don’t pass up going to a game here.

A great stadium when it comes to viewing the game, access to food and drinks, and parking located all around the stadium. What I didn't like when comparing to many other MLB stadiums/parks is that it is an indoor park/stadium and is warm during the game. Even if the roof is open you'll only have a view of the sky unlike other stadiums/parks with views of the surrounding city, mountains. I do love the ability to access any part of the park/stadium. Great views from the outfield walkabout.

May 2024 review: Was in Phoenix for a work conference and was able to catch a Diamondbacks vs Padres game! Chase Field is a beautiful ballpark with a lot of great views. Prices for hot dogs and a soda was reasonable (compared to my home ballpark of Fenway!).
I wish they’d show replays of the game on the scoreboard, but maybe that doesn’t happen at baseball games anymore due to coach’s challenges? Not sure.
Pro-tip if it’s an early season game and not a sellout crowd: If you’re in town and catch a Diamondbacks game, purchase a cheap ticket and work your way down to better seating!

This was my first time visiting Chase Field. The venue is very beautiful on the inside. Every seat provides you with an amazing view. There were plenty of events happening throughout the game. The only thing that kept this place from being a five star is the price of food at the concessions. I purchased two meals at Chic fil and the cost was $42. I'm talking about one chicken sandwich, 8 piece chicken nuggets, one order of fries and two regular soft drinks. Just my thoughts.

First time there in years. Sat in 2nd row of upper deck, and that was a fantastic experience with a great view. It was 112 degrees outside, but perfect temperature (maybe 72, definitely not cold or hot) inside. Only complaint might be that the food lines were very long until late in the game. Easy to enter and leave. Parked a few blocks away for $30. Overall it was a great time!

Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, is a true marvel in the world of baseball stadiums. I recently took a tour and was thoroughly impressed by the insights gained into its inner workings. The tour was exceptionally worthwhile, granting access to areas typically off-limits to fans. The stadium's beauty is undeniable, especially considering its 26-year age; it maintains a timeless allure.
Attending two games, one with the roof closed during the daytime and another with it open at night, offered contrasting but equally breathtaking experiences. The versatility of the stadium, accommodating various weather conditions seamlessly, is truly impressive.
The iconic pool adds a unique touch to the stadium, offering an expensive yet unforgettable way to enjoy a baseball game. And let's not overlook the value beers available at the team food stops, enhancing the overall experience for fans. Chase Field undoubtedly stands as a testament to innovation and longevity in the world of sports venues.

Very nice stadium. Came here for a cubs/D-backs game and got a good tan from the game. Came in an Uber so not sure on parking but make sure if you bring a lady, that her purse be the size of her phone. They have lockers to rent but they are real sticklers on the bags.

I had the chance to attend an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game at Chase Field in Phoenix. This is the first baseball game I've been to in quite some time. The entire Chase stadium is very nice on the inside. We sat in the Home Run porch seats beyond right field, which gave us a good view of the game and easy access to the nearby restaurants. The stadium has a rather wide assortment of places to get food and beverages. We were also lucky to be able to order a few free items and have them delivered to us, although that isn't available everywhere. The staff was friendly and attentive, the game was good, and the stadium is in excellent condition.

Chase Field is a very nice stadium! The temperature outside was over 90 degrees but with the roof closed and air conditioning, it felt like it was in the 70’s. They have lots of different food options, including value menu items that don’t break your wallet (including hot dogs, corn dogs, popcorn and sodas). It was fun to see an actual pool inside the stadium, that apparently can be reserved only by large parties.
Joselito Laudencia — Google review
it’s been a long time since I’ve been to a baseball game and chase field was very awesome especially outside the stadium. There are plenty of places to drink, eat and just pregame before he entered and paid the big bucks. I did like the hotdog as my father-in-law did as you can see in the picture, he really really enjoyed that one my son and my brother-in-law we also had an awesome time. If you’re trying to save, I would pregame outside and have a couple drinks at the game but there’s nothing better than an old fashion, American baseball experience.

We thankfully went on a night the roof was open and I have to say the stadium is beautiful. If the roof had been closed it might have felt a little claustrophobic but last night was not the case. Pretty decent beer selection, great food, and lots of opportunities for families/children to experience the game. The tickets were fairly priced and I felt like we had great seats to experience the game. Would recommend!

Arrived two hours early so spent some time at the cheeseburgers and brew house. You can enter without a ticket, have a meal and then watch some of the game. With a ticket you can have a meal, watch the people stream in and then go find your assigned seat. I found parking just across the street. 20 dollars. I didn't buy a lot from the consessions. Bottles of water are 7 dollars. I can't even imagine what actual food would cost. Eat before you come of you are price conscious. Otherwise there is a huge variety of food items and everything looked and smelled great. Event staff was welcoming upon entry. Helpful in locating our seats. Fun activities in between innings and the organ interludes were wonderful. Overall a good event center. Love the new pitch clock as well. Speeds up the game.

Diamondbacks VS Reds game 8/26/23 section 133 row 2 seat 20.
It was my first MLB game.
Chase field is a nice stadium, and it is definitely a plus that the roof is not open, so the sun/heat is not beating down on everyone during early games.
The game was very close. Diamondbacks were winning until the last inning and allowed the Reds to catch up. The game went to extra innings and ended up having 11 innings. The stadium is pretty large. Concessions are pricey, approx $10 for a fountain drink, and approx $16 for a beer with a tip round up to approx $19-20. Scoop of ice cream In a waffle bowl is $10.
Team shop inside had a great deal for 2 for $15 on mini bats/foam fingers.
Nice stadium and great overall first-time experience.

I’ve been to this stadium a couple of times. All only to take in an Arizona Diamondbacks game. This is by far one of the nicest, coolest, and funniest stadiums in the league. The food options, the crowd involvement, the views, the activities, and the atmosphere are all amazing!!! The field is nice, the jumbo screen is great and well... we all can agree that a pool in the center field is pretty dang awesome! If you’ve never caught a game here, I suggest you do so soon, especially a game against the dodgers or giants. Those games are absolutely loud and great to be a part of. Go, DBacks!!!

I love this place. There was bark in the park, on the day I attended. I was very impressed with the enormous variety of food/beverage vendors making it possible for every diet to grab a snack or meal. They even offered items I would have never expected and satisfied a current craving. The game was exciting and my seats were spectacular. We all have a preference and behind the batters plate is mine. I felt like I was in the game and I was hoping to catch a pop fly. Unfortunately, I wasn't granted this opportunity. They went to my left and to my right but I was ready 😁. Thank you for the experience.

Came here for the Diamondbacks opening day game versus the Rockies. 5 stars for the team and the historic 3rd inning of 14 runs with 18 batters sent to the plate. 2 stars for the stadium and the cold food being served to customers at Taste of Chase. I ordered a steak sandwich which had cold provolone with barely warm steak and onions. The meat and onions weren't hot enough to even melt the video. The food served is bordering on a health code violation for not being hot enough.

Great concert. Good acoustics and comfortable seats. But the entry procedure ^was really slow. Checking for? People were still in line when the show started. Over priced drinks! They were out of premium so they charged premium price for well brand drinks. This is a ball park designed for 40K people not a concrete venue with 60K. So inadequate bathrooms, parking, concessions, etc. But still a great concert

Had a blast, line moves fast, staff are friendly. Everything is over priced but thats what you get coming to a stadium. Had a fun time overall would rate it a 5 but those prices are killer a simple beer cost 20$ and the food isn't worth the cost, other than that it was a great experience
The Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum is a replica of an Old West pioneer town that takes visitors on a tour of the state's territorial days. Costumed craftspeople recreate life in the 1870s and 1880s, while also holding special events like a lively bluegrass festival throughout the year. Children and adults of all ages are welcome to stop by and enjoy an afternoon of family fun.
I enjoyed looking at the pioneer experience! Explaining to two toddlers what we were looking at! The 4 yr old thought the school is where they made witches as there was a witches hat there! I explained to him what a dunces hat was! And told him he would be wearing it everyday as he sasses adults all the time! He said he was NOT gonna go to that school!

We enjoyed our time at the Pioneer Living History Museum. Entrance cost was $12 a person. There is a lot of walking involved, but mostly a paved path. It's outdoors, so you may want to visit in the cooler months or make a morning visit. They have actual structures from the late 1800's that they relocated as well as reproductions. I was able to get a lot of great photos.

Go go go. This was a highlight of our trip to Scottsdale. I was skeptical at first but quickly won over at the history, buildings, grounds, flowers, live animals, and most of all the people who devote their time to bring alive this historical experience. Women in costume discuss their tatting, the trails are beautifully kept, you can touch and feel the bullet holes in the structures, and the vistas are sublime. We really had fun watching a movie being shot while we visited. Most enjoyable.

Went on a Sunday and it was a ghost town. Pulling in to the parking lot there were two cars, I thought maybe it was closed.
The only staff I saw was a woman taking payment at the front entrance. Other than that there were two other families roaming around. I have seen reviews mentioning people in costume, I saw none of that.
The attraction insists of old buildings you can walk around and view. Most you can’t go inside, just look inside the doorway which is closed off by a gate, and look at staged pieces from the time period.
It’s a big park, and it will take a while to walk around it. There’s restrooms near the entrance, it beside that portable toilets are spread around. There was no food or drinks to be found when I went, however there were signs that there may be a hotdog cart/snacks at some time.
If you don’t explore, you’ll never find anything new. I’m glad I took the time to discover this place, but it’s not something I’d ever return to.

Great place for a field trip, with or without kids. I happened to be chaperoning a kindergarten field trip and the kiddos were having a blast. The buildings are great! The favorite parts of my group's day: "the church," "the chickens," "the banker, was he alive?" and "the graves"

My mom told me she chaperoned my 3rd grade field trip here, which was the early 90s. So, to chaperone my childs 4th grade class, it was a really cool experience. The telephone museum was by far my favorite, that alone would be worth another visit without children. Parking was super easy. The staff was super friendly and helpful even with several schools coming at them at once. There's a lot to see here. Lots of walking to get to the different exhibits and houses. It was very breezy and sunny. Recommend comfy shoes and sunscreen.

We honestly had a wonderful experience. Visiting town from Los Angeles for the Christmas holiday. We went on Wednesday 12/21 and we were literally the only ones there. We arrived at 1:30 and left shortly after 3PM and aside from the employees there was not a single other person on site today which was awesome.
I really enjoyed being able to see vintage historical buildings, as well as the re-creations of other buildings. Some were as old as 1875. It was especially nice just to be able to walk outside and go at your own pace. It’s hard to find anything like this back home, so it was a really unique experience for us. I do wish they would’ve had some more historical information about each building but that would be something easy to fix. Overall a really pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend to any visitor or anyone who is from Arizona as well.

This was a fascinating museum! There are over a dozen buildings to view. Some buildings you can go inside and others you look through windows and read plaques concerning the history of the building. Quite a few of the buildings are originals! Others are reconstructed, but still very cool to look at and read about! There is a sidewalk for those with young children needing strollers. Allow at least an hour to enjoy! $12/adult. $10/children ages 5-16. There is a volunteer who is available to teach about telephone technology in the Telephone Museum portion of the Pioneer Living Museum! There is an RV park out there so be sure of which road you take to park at the museum so you don't have to do a turn around in the RV park.

Yes yes and more yes! What a lovely treasure from the friendliness of the staff greeting you, the wonderful telephone expert Steve and everything in between. The grounds are just spectacular and all the little stops along the paths are charming. My one suggestion would be to label some of the trees and plants, I found them to be part of the experience and would love to know a little about them as well.

Came here over 20 plus years ago on a son's school field trip. Finally got to come back. Loved looking at all the old building. There's a gun range on the other side of the hill so you can hear bullet shooting which kind of put you back in the old days (lol) but when they weren't shooting it was so peaceful there.

This was a great spot to walk around amd enjoy the property. Went when a film crew was making a movie so there was no one "living" at the museum. Will definitely try again still enjoyed the property.

Wild West Historical Buffs listen up, here’s a must experience place! Pioneer Living History Institution as encompassing Territorial Arizona from 1863 to 1912, believe it. This enormous open-air museum boasts over 30 historic structures and stuff with antiques, memorabilia, artifacts, live animals and exhibits that will astound any aficionado or historical curiosity seeker. Their reconstructed, original and reproductions, from AZ first Senator’s home to Blacksmith Shops, to a Church, to some Victorian homes, a late eighteen hundreds dress shop, it’s an amazing adventure. This Museum does not get enough recognition! And I believe they don’t charge enough admission. From the moment you walk into the Entrance/Incredible Antique Bar/Snack Bar/Ticket Counter/incredible Telephone Museum, you will be walking at least a mile and one half throughout your stay, they created a very walkable concrete walk but ensure to carry water and best done in the morning or late afternoon, but well worth the walk (exercise)! Expect a couple of hours here. You will marvel at many things here and realize our predecessors opening the west for us, really, really, really had a hard life.

Enjoyed looking at the original structures. Staff were friendly. Saw some wildlife to include a rattlesnake.
The Outlets at Anthem offer visitors the opportunity to shop for global fashion brands, enjoy a food court, play area and splash pad, as well as a baby area. The mall is easy to access and offers ample parking.
Where do I start this place is AMAZING! On Friday I was shopping with my family and went on the Easter egg hunt at ANTHEM OUTLETS with my kids, it was so much fun ! They have a variety of stores and things that you can do, including some really fun activities like a bingo. I found out about all the discounts and activities From the Sweetset lady at customer service Peg . She was very helpful, very nice and went above and beyond to help me. I will definitely be back. I love the shops and the employees at this mall are super nice.

Definitely a good clean place. Me and my wife recently went and visited this outlet mall. I was very impressed by it. The only downside is that not a lot of shops are open. The ones that are there really don't have the discounts as before. Maybe due to the shortage of products. The food court was nice and a good variety of food. The bathrooms are clean and kept up. Entrances to the food court was very impressive. Loved the huge Christmas tree that was still up. Overall I would visit again but definitely wait until they have more sales.

A 5 star upscale mall all the way. A huge selection of top name stores are here. Polo, Michael Kors, Nike, Under Armor, Levi’s, Vans. You name it, they’re all here. Great selections and all sizes in every store. Always super friendly staff too. No worries about parking either, as they have a lot that’s as big as a football stadium.

It seems like a great center to get together with friends and family but many stores have left. I hope it can survive and possibly get more business’ in the future. I can see how in hot months, it would not be popular to come here though. Lots of parking and felt safe walking around.

I found some really great deals on the popular name brand items in every single store, but you do have to hunt around the stores to find them. Many items are still near retail price. It is very definitely worth taking the trip if you have some time to shop.

I feel three stars in generous honestly. This place is such a let down in many ways unfortunately in my opinion. It’s an outlet mall so you think you’d be able to walk shop to shop, great window shopping, multiple bathrooms nearby, but that’s not what you get. I arrived to shop at a specific location, but parked at what I’d of thought was a great spot to walk around and maybe get some added shopping done. While Nile was phenomenal most other shops nearby were empty and shut down. I saw no other restrooms besides the food court. Prices aren’t much different they anywhere else. Which sucks because you think you’d get some kind of decent deal. I do love the huge Christmas tree and other decorations, but if you’re looking for a great outdoor outlet I’d recommend Tanger over this any day.

Very quiet, but nice outlet mall with a lot of stores and great Gelato. Appears to also go by the name of Outlets at Anthem.

I know this place is going down in customers and that it a lot of it’s stores have closed over the years, but honestly it’s a pretty convenient and nice place to go get whatever things you need, whether it’s shoes, clothes, food etc. It’s a pretty underrated place, but yeah that’s the Outlets for you.

A few stores are still opened. Nike store has good deals. Food court has great food options. Was very impressed by the restrooms and maternity room. This is a clean and well kept facility over all.

Wish they had more of a selection. Like the area and it’s clean. Just needs more stores. It was quite the drive and there is a lot of stores that are empty.
