Very educational displays for the mill and very clean park. It's still between winter and spring so museum wasn't accessible and will have to return. The cemetery was a bit out of the park but worth the trip to see. The campground gas a mini golf course and the pool has some fun features as well. Can't wait to go back when it's warmer.

t has all kinds of activity near by u can watch the duck at the pond swing play grounds and picnic sheltes also nearby now far the pool its shelf has shelter to eat and chairs a kids pool and the water is 6 ft. Max in the big pool they do take 15 or 30 min breaks nobody can be at the big pool during this time the kids pool get over populated at times they have picnic tables outside and play ground as well there two slides both times I have went neither of them was open which takes away a star on the rating. Kids 2 and under are free $8.00 for adults and they don't have a the concession stands open either. And they don't play like music like somerset water park. But I still love taking my daughter cause everyone is nice it small and the kids pool has one slide in it . I hope you can find this helpful and thanks for your time be safe and have fun

Nice little place to stretch your legs and look at an old mill. There's also more old buildings, a park, a pool (I think), and some trails in the same area to explore. A nice little place to visit and explore.
Rachel Honeycutt — Google review
This park is always busy, but it's clean and well lit. The play grounds and parking areas are well maintained. My little guy tried to make friends with the duck at the pool. We will be back several times and check out the other playgrounds.

Went to Levi Jackson Wilderness Park today especially to the old mill and walked the road of old mill stones that leads to the old mill. I love history and old things that people tend to forget about in this technology fueled world. Seeing all the different sizes of mill stones and thinking what type of grain each stone was used to make gets my mind and imagination races. The simplicity of the mill and how they used the river beside the mill as it's own power source is always amazing to try to put myself back during that time and seeing it first hand. History will never be lost as long as others such as myself are out there bringing history to life for everyone else and in that living history will never fade away into the books. Looking for something new or old then check this place out and walk in the footsteps of history.

Beautiful park it was early spring I'm sorry I didn't get good pictures I have a bad knee injury but wanted to let my boy walk. A must see in Southern KY!

This was the very best vacation I've ever had!! The park is absolutely stunning! So much to do yet when you want to go back to your campsite to relax it is so beautiful and peaceful. I can't get over how clean the restrooms/shower rooms are kept. I'm a professional cleaner so I have high standards and I was very impressed. The office lady was so sweet checking us in and I hate that I forgot her name and the 2 brothers that work there I believe was Anthony and Matthew and you can't find a more helpful pair. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us daily. And this young girl named Ashley was the sweetest and I believe she is the one who did such a great job with the restrooms. I can't wait until next summer so I can go back and spend even longer!! If you want to get away yet still have electricity and water and be around the nicest people, you need to get down to Levi Jackson State Park!! I know this sounds like a commercial but I promise it's not and everything I said is 100% fact! :)

Beautiful area we love the walking path there’s also a playground and public bathrooms that unfortunately the time that we were not open.

This is a really neat park full of old relics from the bygone state park era. But the City of London recently tood it over and have invested heavily in it. It's clean, looks like new playgrounds here and there and has some nice hiking trails. I was in the lodge for a meeting. It was clean and worked well for the meeting. I hope to take the family back to try the tree tops course.

Things are a little tight in the campground. Also important to note, there is only 1 dumpstation that is located oddly enough toward the back of the campground. There is a tight turn to gain access to the dumpstation.

Well maintained facilities, picnic shelters, bathrooms hiking trails and dog friendly. A museum of old cabin homes , a obstacle course.

This is a great place to have a picnic. The old mill is also a lot of fun to see. They do have quiet a few old mill stones if that’s you’re thing. It’s very green and the trees give you a lot of cover.

The park is small, but does have a nice campground and pool. The picnic area has many shelters and tables ( they are building a new shelter with a new playground.Their is a Old homestead with a gift shop.Their is a old mill with a lot of mill stone on display along walk to mill.
Scenic park with a waterfall, hiking & gem mining, plus lodging, horseback riding & a fire tower.
Such a beautiful park with amazing views! There is a trail to follow that leads to different angles to see the waterfall. Trail is not difficult at all. Not crowded when we visited during the week. Parking is close to the entrance where the gift shop is. This is definitely on my list to visit again.

This is our 2nd time coming here. We really love this place. It is very handicap accessible. The fall is absolutely beautiful. They have restrooms and a visitor center a snack bar and funnel cake food truck. Lots of parking too. We stayed at a nearby campground so it was really easy to drive the 5 miles to get there and have a great time.

My fiance and I have camped here in a tent twice now and we see new stuff every time. This place is BEAUTIFUL and enjoyable. Staff is super friendly. Excellent place to camp and see beautiful places. Most people don't realize a place like this exists in Kentucky. We always have fun here.
Chasity Miller — Google review
Beautiful view from the top of the falls is an easy walk from the parking lot. Some stairs to get to the better viewing areas. Park is well-maintained. Clean bathrooms. Snacks and treats are available at a reasonable price. Great family destination.
We did not stay on the grounds. Just drove through and hiked the falls for an hour or so.

First the good. Such a beautiful place and love the trails and views. Highly recommend if you haven't been. The not so good. The cottage rooms were not very clean and the mattress was horrendous. The breakfast at the lodge was all overcooked on the buffet.
The other most confusing/aggravating thing is you can't even wade in the shallow river water. $1000 fine and 10 days jail? So generic. Thanks KY.
David White — Google review
Wonderful Lodge! The room was clean, and the furnishings were fine. Towels were soft and fluffy. The only issue was that the door stuck a bit when trying to get into the room. I love old buildings and a sticky door didn't put me off. The park was fabulous! Hiked over 10 miles the first day.
Wendy Schrodt — Google review
Handicap accessible! A friend was complaining about the lack of availability of handicap accessible accommodations, pretty much everywhere. I showed her pictures of our cabin, and she was excited. Not perfect, but doorways wide enough, sinks you can roll up to in a wheelchair, and a bathroom large enough to turn around in.
The hike to the falls from the cabin area is challenging but fun. Several other trails around that area were also pleasant. For the physically challenged, we were able to park near the falls, and it's an easy walk/wheelchair trip on paved roads to several nice overlooks.
Breakfast was about what you get at nicer hotels, not perfect but adequate . The view from the dining room more than makes up for any disappointment.
We've been twice, stayed in a cabin both times, found the staff and cabins quite nice. Much better than a hotel, in my opinion.
Do some research and you'll find plenty to do nearby if the park isn't enough to entertain you. We've kayaked with Sheltowee Trace Adventures, ridden the South Big Fork Railroad, hiked at the Natural Bridge and several waterfalls much smaller than Cumberland, and found local shops and diners to round out the fun.

We got married in the grassy area adjacent to the Great waterfall 10 years ago. The park is pretty. I am told if you go during a full moon, you might see a moon- rainbow originating from the tiny droplets scattered by the falls. The restaurant is very nice. Pay attention to the location of boulders, they are in specific places below the waterfall only, due to erosion.
Maxime Cuypers, Ph.D. — Google review
Beautiful state park. The waterfall is gorgeous. This is one of the only places in the world where “moon bows” can be viewed. Plenty of hiking trails. The main area to the falls is an easy walk and ADA accessible. The have a gift shop, snack shop and bathrooms.

Not to be confused with Cumberland Falls State Park, the resort park is where there is a lodge, cabins, cottages, RV sites, and camping spots available to stay at overnight. We were in a Woodland Cottage for two nights. The cottages are old and need some updating. The beds are comfortable but are covered with plastic mattress pad covers. A little too crinkly for me. There’s a small fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Not enough hot water for more than one shower. You’ll have to wait an hour for the water to heat up again. The Woodland Cottages are directly to the left of the lodge parking lot when you enter off the road. You sign in and get your room keys at the lodge. (This is down the road from the entrance to the falls and visitor center.) Make sure to go to the balcony at the lodge that overlooks the river. The fall colors are magnificent! A great photo spot. For fall foliage reference, we were there Oct. 18-20, 2022. The desk staff and housekeeping were very nice.
Gigi B — Google review
The falls were beautiful. The trails were well kept and enjoyable. Booked a stay in one of the cottages, but when we got there, they said none were available, but that they had available rooms in the lodge, so we took one of those instead. The room itself was ok, however it's not very soundproof. The ceiling creaked whenever someone moved in the room upstairs and we could hear all of conversations in the hall outside.
Will Walkup — Google review
The park is a convenient location near interstate 75, We did not stay at the Inn or eat there. The campgrounds are very small, so pay attention to the size of your RV since two that we drove through were dead end streets, where you can't circle around and look at all the sites if you're trying to pick the best one for your rig and the time of the year.
The hike from our camp site was really enjoyable, ending up at the falls, which are spectacular. We visited the park in early June, so the falls were really rolling. Likely if it's a dry summer, they say the falls will not be very pretty.

I am dad. And stayed with my two daughters. One is 9 and the other is 4. They loved the hotel, the views, the pool. I liked the clean bathrooms, towels provided at the pool, all the hikes in the park. Is an older lodge. But it appears to be maintained very well. I loved!!!! The attention. The staff was very top notch with me and my girls

This is our third time visiting the park. We drive up from Florida on our way to visit my son in Southern Indiana. I love this park . It's so laid back and has lots of activities. They have a lodge and cabins along with camping. We stayed in the cabins . The area is quiet and so relaxing. We like to hike so there is plenty of trails that offer beautiful scenery. I will definitely be back again .

Stayed in 1 bedroom cabin, steps away from 2 trails. The falls are spectacular no matter the weather or time of year. It was cool and a bit rainy, but the hikes were wonderful. The Parks Naturalist, G, was a great guide on our trip to the fire tower. Kudos to her lessons and knowledge on how to protect wildlife and the sustainability of nature itself.

Stayed in one of the single queen cottages. We have stayed here multiple times before and we love it. Lodge restaurant is open and the food and service was great. There are multiple trails around the park and you can make an entire day out of hitting the trails.
The campground is not really designed for large campers. I would say any camper over 25' will have issues in most sites.
Overall, great State park and highly recommended.

My family has so many good memories here at the Falls going back to the 70s when my grandparents would bring us here. Now to bring my own family down over the recent years is a great continuation of a family tradition! We will always love it and the sites and places we visit along the way!!

Wonderful trail to different levels of the Falls. You can see a little or a lot. There is an upper trail, but you have to go down steps at end to really see the Falls. The store there is Great!! Lots of samples of area crafts & lotions & food.
Jo Nell Mallay — Google review
I can see why this place doesn't get much business it is way out and no swimming is allowed price per room is pretty high for just a small No-Frills room. The breakfast was awesome although coffee had grounds in it and they did not refill the fruit basket at all once it was gone it was gone first come first serve. The falls were really muddy the day that we visited
Anita Musick — Google review
We took a detour on our way to northern Kentucky to visit the Falls. It was a very we'll laid out place and there were plenty of places to stand and see the Falls. We parked right at the Falls and didn't have to hike any long trails to get to the Falls. We like to go to see waterfalls and this was one of the best ones that we have seen. It's definitely worth the time and effort to visit.

Like always .loved it never realized why my dad always wanted to come down here. Once I got here I realized why .the beauty alone is breath taking just sitting by the falls or walking the trails. Your at one with nature not trying to sound corny. But yeah oneof the most beautiful places I've ever been in my 44yrs on earth. And the lords will I'll be heading back down often.

We used campsite 28. It is 150 ft away from the showers. The showers are the best we have ever used in any campsite in any state we have been in. It is in a heated building. There are pegs to hang up close. There is a seat. Separate curtains for the shower and for the dressing area. The hot water and cold water valve are separate The large shower head has a shut off. I did not get soaked while waiting for the hot water to start. There are two family bathrooms complete with showers. Fabulous experience.

Stayed in a cabin this past weekend and had a great time. The cabin was very nice and clean, everything needed provided. We ate breakfast and dinner at the resort. We got the buffet both times and had no regrets, great food. I’ve wanted to stay in one of these cabins since I was a child, finally did and will be back to do it again!

We stayed in the resort. The room was spacious and overlooked the river. It was a little dated but not for the price. I loved the history and the huge fireplace. But my favorite was the patio that gave an amazing view of the river below.

We stayed at the lodge and hiked the falls, what a gorgeous place! Seems like a hidden gem (though we were there off-season). Parking is plentiful, at the picnic area and the falls. Gift shop offers thousands of options in a range of budgets, and the employees were very knowledgeable of the area.
Make it a day trip or a family vacation, there's plenty to do!
Kelly Malter-Hoffman — Google review
First of all, Cumberland Falls is gorgeous and well worth a road trip.
I'm not sold on the resort, but it was nice to bring our doggie companion. It's $30 to bring pets to stay in the lodge and $50 in the cabins.
My friend and I got a double queen room in the lodge "with a view". The view, unfortunately, was of their patio.
It is a nice patio, and you can see plenty of sky, but if you're on the first level, people can definitely just look into your room, so keep those shades drawn. The view from the actual patio is very beautiful.
The bathroom was large and accommodating. They had dispensers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. They also provide a safety bar on the interior wall. It is quite a large tub, with high walls. There was also a hair dryer in our bathroom, though we never used it.
There was a small but reasonable area to hang and store items. They also provided a iron and ironing board.
You can hear people walking around on the floor above you. Bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
The room was very cramped, the set up seemed illogical. The dresser was impossible to use. I would not call this a wheel chair accessible resort. There are lots of stairs, everywhere.
The laundry seemed very clean and fresh.
The worst issue we had was there was someone else's food left in the room. And the ice bucket was greasy and dusty. The lights also flicker a lot upon entrance, so if you have any issues with blinking lights, you may want to turn on the lights and wait outside of your room for a moment.
Also if you have any dietary restrictions you better tell them well in advance. The complimentary breakfast doesn't necessarily include food you can eat. We were there on a slow day, so no buffet. They were out of waffles and fruit. Their juice machine had a funky taste about it.

Do not rent cabin 502. Smoke damage from the fire place. Tried to air the small out, all the windows latches and cranks broken. Missing grout in both bathrooms with black mold growing in the cracks. Would not give state workers a break. No electric for a day and a half. Bachup generator did not work.
george schemenauer — Google review
I just visited the falls, I didn't rent a room. The area where your allowed to view the falls from is pretty close to the parking lot. Very easy to walk to. They have several places for you to view the falls from with slightly different views of it. I wish you were allowed to walk up the falls like you can some other parks, but your not allowed. They have hiking trails that are fairly easy to enjoy. They have a little sand place. The restrooms are very clean. It's a really nice place to take your family to.
Stephenie Fritts — Google review
It is an old hotel which could use some updating of the bathrooms. The mattresses were so comfortable so I am happy with their decision to improve those. It's a state park hotel and we love to support our state parks. The free breakfast was great. We were here for a honeymoon and to see the moon bow. The hiking around the park was great. We rode horses and saw the moonbow!!! It was a great trip. Food was good. I would only work to update the bathrooms. Oh and the Internet was out the entire time we were there which made it hard to get in touch with our kids.:)

So beautiful to visit. And lots to do! We saw 🦌 deer all around. Great hiking around the lake. Disc ⛳️ golf can be fun, I however was not good at it. The Lake is beautiful. The Lodge has great food, just check for hours and food options, the Buffett is very good.
Daniel Boone National Forest offers a plethora of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, rock-climbing and hunting amidst sandstone cliffs, lakes, rivers and trees. The area has many great hikes to offer including the popular Natural Arch and Panoramic Trail. It's a vast area divided into four sections which may require long drives to cover all areas. Cumberland Falls and Big South Fork are also nearby attractions worth exploring.
This is my home. It is BEAUTIFUL and fun! There are many things for the kids to learn about along with hiking trails for all levels. Rock climbing and kayaking are other big hits! Bring the whole family, stay in a cabin in the woods, and just relax while listening to nature!

Well kept and well marked trails, so many options from easy to hard, long loops to short lookouts. Many different landscapes from cliffs, to forests, to rivers and waterfalls. Plenty of parking. The views throughout the forest are absolutely stunning. Our first time here but we will definitely be back.

Beautiful area to visit! So many great hikes, my favorite was the Natural Arch and Panoramic Trail. It’s a great place to visit and plenty of place to see. It is a huge area so make sure you check online for the areas you want to visit and plan for long drives. There are like 4 sections that are over 2 hours apart at certain points. Definitely worth visiting!

The trail I hiked was well marked. It was a gorgeous path. Even though in late November it was still peaceful. Btw, there is NO suspension Bridge anymore.

Spent a weekend around the Natural Land Bridge in Red River Gorge.
We stayed at the resort park's cabins, which were spacious (although lacking in cleanliness) and they have a lovely & simple continental breakfast.
Among my biggest highlights were the Natural Land Bridge, the Princess Arch, and the many little gems you find just driving the roads through the forest.
I advise researching your hikes before doing them, many in the area are moderate to more difficult, so beginning hikers take caution and plan for extra time!

Spent 3 days in the Clifty Wilderness area. Hiked in on swift camp creek trail from the parking lot. Trail was hard to follow, partially because all the leave had fallen, there weren't any trail markers, and there were a lot of trees fallen across the trail. We camped at the bottom of the trail and it was very nice. We hike out on Wildcat, and the trail marking nead a lot of work. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and recommend it.

this is a really beautiful place, many areas to camp. picked up lots of trash from other trail slobs tho. There are many trashcans located throughout the park, so this is totally unnecessary .WHEN YOU COME TO PLACES LIKE THIS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE A VISITOR. RESPECT THE FOREST. IT IS HOME TO MANY. IF HUMANS KEEP TREATNG IT LIKE THIS ONE DAY WE WON'T HAVE ANYWHERE BEAUTIFUL TO GO ANYMORE.
Longtime music venue focused on classic country, Southern gospel & mountain bluegrass concerts.
This is one of the best and most famous music venues in Kentucky. The seating and area are perfect and you are sooo close to all the wonderful musicians that grace this stage. Here's some pics of my latest experience while watching The Oak Ridge Boys. Seriously, buy tickets and GO!

I got to see Travis Tritt for the first time in concert and it was awesome. I loved that Renfro Valley is not a huge venue and there is really not a bad seat in the place. I had a fantastic time and will be going to see Wynonna Judd when she is there in April. I can't wait for Travis Tritt to do another concert there because I will definitely be there to see him again!!!

This is the best venue I've ever attended. I have lived nearby my whole life and had never went before Terri Clark,Pam Tillis and Suzy Boggus. It's smaller than most and makes a more enjoyable experience. I would recommend to everyone especially the ones like me who loves almost all the older artist that frequent this venue. Jo Dee and Taylor Dye were amazing as well. The staffs nice but there are a few younger power hungry security guards. Don't stand in the isle longer then 3 second or you get warnings 3 your kicked out. Got two warnings for stepping in the isle too long to let people out to the restroom. It was amazing other then almost getting kicked out by a power hungry young kid for being nice.

Great small concert venue! All seating unobstructed, and great view even from the balcony. Reasonable acoustics even for a loud band (we saw Grand Funk Railroad here). Alcohol is very pricey ($7 for 12 oz beer, $10 and up for mixed drinks), and hot dogs were gross. Free parking adjacent to the building which was nice. Overall great experience......will go back when someone else is there that we like!! A clean Baymont Hotel is within easy walking distance.

Staff was professional, made you feel like family, & excellent service. Prices for concessions; alcohol, non-alcoholic drinks, and food, was very reasonably priced. Cannot say enough good things about the quality of entertainment and atmosphere. Everyone was awesome
Sprawling outdoor water park with a large kids' area, a lazy river, a wave pool & multiple slides.
The kids always have a blast here. Our older girls love the water slides and the little one loves the toddler play area. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food, but they have dipping dots which are always a big hit.

The attractions are great! Clean, cold water, functioning. Lifeguards are all friendly. We enjoyed our day quite well. Definitely bring your own food. I waited in line for about 25 minutes only to be told they were closing that window and I'd need to go to the other line, meaning I'd start my wait again. Meanwhile, the 25 minutes I was in line, they only completed amd delivered one order to the pickup window. I tried to order online and the site was down. Bottom line, we loved the place, but our visit was cut short because food wasn't available. Definitely go, and either sneak food in or you can eat at the picnic tables outside the facility.

I've not been to the water park since it opened years ago and it was fantastic. It's alright for the family! Fun but really not impressed on it's size! Smaller compared to the other water parks I've been too! Overall, it's well worth the money and time to make memories with the family! The Concession Stand was slow! Standing in line for an hour to order food is ridiculous but due to lack of employees I understand! Especially since there was barely kids old enough to be teenagers working!

Me and my kids had a great time! My son (3) loved the kiddie area and my daughter (13) had a blast on the huge water slides. I myself enjoyed the lazy river it was very relaxing. We never got any food but I have seen where some people on here said it took a hot minute. My only problem was the bathrooms, the entire park was super clean until we got to the restrooms. They were disgusting! The whole floor was wet, urine and feces in the toilets, wet toilet paper covering the floor, no toilet paper in the dispenser, and it smelled putrid! It was nothing like the rest of the clean park. Staff was very nice and gift shop was cool.

It was a nice little Waterpark. My family had a nice time. We went on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded. The only complaints I have are that the bathrooms were disgusting. They only have 1 restroom for women and 1 for men. The floors are soaking wet and there were pads all over the floor. There was no toilet paper in any of the stalls and I didn't see anyone cleaning them until the park was closing. My husband said the men's restroom smelt like pee. We've been to many truck stops in the last 2 years and they have cleaner restrooms then somerSplash. The other complaint was the food. It took a good amount of time to be able to order and it took awhile to get our food and the food was just sub-par.
Over all the park was fun and we will be going back....just wasn't big on the restrooms or food.

Lots of fun on a hot day for a reasonable price. The food is also very reasonable.
I can also say that they have a very good staff. My 17 year old son was accidentally caught up in the undercurrent in the wave pool and could not get out. He was under water because of it. The lifeguards were quick to jump in and get him out. They were amazing and I cannot thank them enough.

The ice skating rink at SomerSplash is by far my favorite. It is real ice with fire pits and a concession stand for snacks and hot drinks. They clean the ice in between time slots. It is $15 for about 1.5 hour of skating including your skates. You can also bring your own skates. Benches beside the ice to relax and rest if needed. An awesome experience locally without having to drive to Lexington.

Prices are affordable and it's a solid local waterpark. My only complaint is that you HAVE to pay for the over 48 inch price even if you don't intend to do any of that. Went with my two daughters, with zero intentions of doing any of the slides and was still told I had to pay that price . Lame.
Bathrooms definitely could use some work also. Two stalls didn't shut at all.

Went to the winter wonderland made it abundantly clear we had children only to find out once we paid and came in you have to pay another $10.60 each to rent a plastic reindeer. This is criminal skating fees in Lexington covers this item to assist children in ice skating. They leave this detail out purposefully to trick you into overpaying for something. Again it's $10.60 to rent a piece of plastic for an hour. After paying $132 to enter with 7 kids and 2 adults. Not to mention the money I spent here bringing these kids all summer to swim.

Free parking, large area with tons of lounge chairs, slides, pools, and the lazy river. Everyone was kind including the guests. Much more enjoyable than some of the local recreational pools as there are options for everyone. Small slides to tall scary ones.

We were at our family cabin on Lake Cumberland and drove down for the day and had a blast! My daughter was still a bit young and timid about large amounts of water splashing her.... Especially her face. She warmed up to it and tried the slide but the big bucket was getting her lol. Towards the end of the day she got through one or two passes but that was progress for us. We couldn't really enjoy anything else because it was about the kids but we had a blast! I loved that the area was shallow and there were tons of things for all kids to use and have experiences with no more how comfortable they were with water. I am so looking forward to going here again this summer because I know she'll have a blast!
I do remember the lines for food being extremely long and not looking that part of it lol.

We give this water park a 10 out of 10 We ( 2 moms ) drove over an hour to get here with 4 boys . Reasonable prices for treats and clean NOT crowded on a Tuesday .
Visited the Berea Craft Show, featuring 110 vendors offering a diverse range of exquisite handcrafted products. Although prices were high for some sellers, precautions were taken to combat muddy conditions caused by previous rain with the use of straw and plywood. However, poison ivy was observed around the booths. Made a few purchases and received business cards for future follow-ups. The layout of the show was visually appealing and created a peaceful ambiance even with its proximity to the interstate.
Beautiful lay out. Peaceful as close to the interstate as it is. Be cool if they were open 24/7 but they close fairly early and if travelers need a rest room. You have to leave there and go to one. They have some beautiful art work items in there that is just down right cool.

Visitor center building is a renovated red brick train station. All employees there exude hospitality! I walked in and had the pleasure to speak with them and one turned on the HO scale model train set for me. The log cabin outside is the location of a tradesman who makes nik-nacks. The colorful artistic enlarged hands are ideal landmarks. I bought a $10.00 dollar peg game, like the ones at Cracker Barrell, from the tradesman. We wanted ice cream because it was a little hot that day...but none were open in Berea....so we had to go to a Lancaster "Dairy Queen".

Went to the Berea Craft Show. 110 vendors. Saw lots of wonderful, handmade items. Pretty expensive for many of the vendors. Was outside do straw & plywood was spread over the mud from earlier rain. Saw lots of poison ivy around the booths. Bought a few items and got business cards from ones we will follow up on later.

Nice Welcome Center with information about local artists, L&N Railroad and local attractions.
I didn't like that they display items from local stores but you can't buy them there. You're required to go to the store to purchase. Sorry to say, I wasn't willing to do that.

Enjoyed L&N Day at the old L&N Depot today! Great historic depot with a lot of informative history about the place. There was also a very nice selection of model trains and toys from different vendors behind the depot for L&N Day. Was nice to catch a CSX train race by while there. Thank you for having this day. Looking forward to L&N day next year in 2023!

Gallery selling made-in-Kentucky arts, crafts & specialty foods, plus a cafe & rest stop services.
I adore local artisans and this place does not disappoint! I bought the loveliest pottery teapot I’ve ever seen, an adorable drawing, fantastic hand forged metalwork and a ugly and cute pottery fish head to hang on my wall not to mention local flavors of coffee and local smells of hand lotion and candles. Gifts galore for loved ones or for that special place in your own house!

What a great place to see so much beautiful art! Beautiful entrance with seating and art all around before you enter. As you enter there is a very helpful staff person who can answer lots of Berea questions and tourist guides. Then the art, they have everything from metal to silk to food to books. I loved the fiber arts section, beautiful silk scarves and wraps and toys. Paintings and wall sculptures made of everything. So much local KY art it was amazing!
I highly recommend visiting. If you want to buy something take a chunk of change! Honoring the artist is on the agenda here.
They also have a coffee and lunch bar in the back.

Fun stop just off of I-75. It’s an interesting art museum/ store with a cafe and public restrooms. All of the art is interesting and for sale, we enjoyed looking at the pieces and even bought a couple. There’s also a dog-walk area outside, and outside picnic seating. All around, it was a great stop. I’ll probably return next time I’m passing through.

Awesome selection of arts and crafts from local artists/artisans. Great place to shop for gifts. They have cards, art prints, jams and sauces, soap, jewelry, candles, knick-knacks..they also sell drinks and some candies and have an in-house cafe with a small menu of food offerings. I like stopping here when I'm driving past because they also have clean bathrooms!

What a beautiful place to visit and look for the one of a kind piece of art. All kinds of mediums are used to create some of the most unusual art. We also ordered the grilled chicken BLT wrap which has a complete salad including cucumbers! OMG! What a delicious wrap!

Kentucky resident artists display their art and crafts here. Similar to a museum, but the pieces are for sale. Most of it is quite decent, and some is rather excellent. Very welcoming atmosphere, and the gallery is larger than just the front entry. There are also some steel sculptures outside off of the outside veranda.

Fort Boonesborough State Park is a historical site located in Kentucky that features exhibits of period items and demonstrations by people in period dress. The fort is also great for fishing, hiking, bird watching, and camping.
This is a great state park to explore with kids. The fort itself is amazing but the best part is all the little trails and spots the kids can play on and become a great learning experience while doing it. Down the road there is also a historical spot where the Calloway kidnapping happened and a cemetery where some of the original settlers are buried. Just a great area for a quick day trip

This was a fun, historical, and educational experience. They have people who reenact how times were back in like the 1700’s and some of the things the travelers experienced. They show you how they did certain crafts, let you throw axes, shot off an old rifle, and had a gift shop with some stuff that they people actually made themselves. If you’re looking for an activity that has historical value and educational, I would recommend coming here.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the state park campground. We had an RV site with water/electric hook-ups. The highlight of our stay was visiting Fort Boonesborough. We walked along the scenic Pioneer Forage trail connecting the campground to the fort. The fee to enter the fort ($8.00 per adult) was definitely worth it. This fort is a replica (twice as large) of the original one built in 1775. It was interesting to learn that this fort was the second settlement of Daniel Boone. If you are travelling through this area of Kentucky, this fort is a must see.

I was passing through the area in May of 2005 and decided to stop in for a visit not knowing what the hours of operation that day. I found that I had arrived less than an hour before closing. Nevertheless, the staff were quite friendly and encouraged me to look around the fort. It is a wonderful recreation of the historic fort and well worth the visit if you are passing nearby. It would be a great place to bring the kids to learn a bit of history. It would also be a great place to just come to have a picnic!

Loved this fort. It isn't original, as the original no longer stands, but it is a great replica and lots of actual museum items thougout that are from that time. The living historians were great! They walked you through what time was like in those days and demonstrated blacksmithing, spinning and candlemaking. We had a great time! Spent a little over an hour there. If this review was helpful, please like it!

Great place to walk around and see parts of history. There is a whole campground adjacent with hook-ups. You can walk right down to the river. There are a few picnic areas with free-standing grills for use. There are lots of picnic tables for public use. There are also restrooms. There are a couple different monuments to see and read about.

A very well-done reconstruction. There are a couple of short videos to watch. One about the history of the fort. Then another about all the activities at the fort through out the year and in the surrounding community. Both were well done. The buildings were nicely done with informative signs, and some had individuals in period dress, providing short talks, demonstrations, and answering questions. Those individuals were all friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to watch the blacksmith make a candle stick that we then purchased from the gift shop, a very nice keepsake. It was an enjoyable and educational stop. Two or three hours at most, if you really spend time with the demonstrators, watching them work and asking questions.

Not a great experience. We was told we can't even walk to the river. One of the reason for camping is to walk around and enjoy nature. Our fire pit was full of ash and broken bottles, the sites around us which was not even reserved was all clean... will probably try again next year as they are able to recover from flood.

Short day trip to visit the fort. It was educational and good for those who enjoy history. My favorite part was the demonstrations from workers dressed in attire from long ago. Most cabins you could walk into and felt like you were going back in time. It's worth seeing.

Nice campground, friendly staff, sites have water/electric and a few have full hookups. Best showers ever, nice and warm. A few sites you can see the river, but be sure you check how long the RV pad is before you book. Nice bike riding and walking to the river and history of the original Boonesbourough Fort.

What a cool place full of colonial/pioneer history. You can park right at the fort or park further down the park and walk a short paved trail up to the park (it is a slightly inclined trail). The park has a small museum as you enter the fort. I wish it had more items for sale like t-shirts or magnets. It sells a few hand made items from that time period like hand dipped candles , wooden spoons, etc. Once you enter the fort, each little part focuses on a certain area like gunsmith; cloth spinning; wood working; pottery, etc. Some have employees demonstrating the craft and dressed as in the time period. A few parts are replicas of things like a tavern, living quarters, etc. There are bathrooms on each end and one side has a small auditorium that plays a short film about the fort. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I’d estimate 1-3 hours here, depending how much you read the displays and look at the artifacts. It’s a very cool place and I’d highly recommend it if you are passing thru the area .

We were looking for something to do while we waited for family to get into town. Nice replica of Fort Boonesborough. There were a few period actors that showed you what life may have been like at the fort. I would have given 5 stars if everything had been open, the museum and several of the exhibits were closed, which if they had told me prior to entrance I might not have gone in. The blacksmith, gunsmith, the yarn maker, and weaver were all in. Be sure to buy sugar sticks in the store, they're only 40 cents each and very tasty.

I went there for a family reunion and had a wonderful time both had the reunion and then when I went to the campground. Campground is secure and they have a wonderful little General Store there. The people in the store are so helpful and the gentleman who patrols the campground is so helpful. I had just bought a tent that goes on the back of an SUV and had never put it up. The directions were not great and it actually required two people after I watch the video so I was by myself and I had it all over the place. He came over he helped me get it up and secure so I was able to stay there and camp that night in side my little SUV tent. The prices of items within the little store are not much more than you would pay going to Dollar General. I know that cuz I've run up the street to Dollar General to pick up a few things that I forgot and then when I came back I was comparing some of the prices and they were not much more. So if you forgot something don't worry about leaving Campground just going into that little general store. I would definitely put this on your list of places to stay for a vacation.

Beautiful hike! We went on a weekend and did the outer loop, it took about an hour and a half and was totally worth it! The trail is moderate and may be a bit challenging for those who aren't avid hikers, there are shorter and easier trails if you dont want to spend an hour or more on a hike , but the views are very rewarding . Beautiful little place, the paved trails are pretty short and I think they all end up to the same place but makes it good for children, I think they have longer hiking(?) trails but when we went it was kinda muddy from the big storm the night before, so we didn't walk those trails. The guy inside the nature center was super nice too.

Visited 3/5/23. They have a lot of different trails from easy to moderate. Some are paved & wheelchair accessible. We did the Freedom trail beside the parking lot that was paved. They were closing, so make sure to check the times they are open before going. Hours vary depending on the time of year. Lots of parking. They have a picnic area. They have trail maps posted in the parking lot with the level of difficulty. It's a very beautiful area. The drive is very scenic & in the countryside. Roads can be narrow at times, so be careful. Since they closed at 5:30pm we decided to go on down the road to take in the beauty of the area. It was well worth it. The sunsets are absolutely stunning.

The Raven Run Nature Sanctuary is a beautiful location to visit. The nature center is well taken care of and there's a decent bathroom to use. Pro Tip: Bring a Map! Even with a map, the trail is tricky. There are multiple paths that converge and the markers are convoluted. Perhaps they should amend the map and trail markings to make it less confusing. After all, what is noted as a 2 hour hike becomes a 4 hour trail. We were not as prepared in regards to water.
Yet, despite these details the views are incredible and relaxing. My suggestion is to go on a weekday because today was quite busy. Being with nature is what a hike is all about. Though it is good to know that there's some cell service in case of an emergency- can imagine how busy snakes must be in the summer!
On another note, the trail is narrow and steep along most paths. Be mindful when deciding to bring children- it would be better to use the paved trail rather than the ones in the woods.
Overall, we made it back and enjoyed the exercise.

What a wonderful and historic farm to visit. My daughter's favorite movie is Secretariat. We were looking for a family getaway and decided to visit Claiborne Farm. I should mention that we're horse enthusiasts so you understand our excitement for this visit. Levi, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We got up close to some world renowned racing horses. My family got to feed them too. The tour lasted an hour and a half, which was perfect for January. We'll likely go back again at a warmer time to take the shuttle tour of the farm (it's not available in the winter months).

Absolutely loved touring Claiborne! I have been there twice and each time was great, and both my tour guides were so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the farm and what they do. On my first tour back in 2017 (?), we got to meet Orb (2013 KY Derby winner) up close and took pictures with him. We also got to feed mints to War Front and see some other studs. On my second tour last week (July 2021), we got to meet Catholic Boy, War of Will, and War Front up close and personal and feed them mints and take pictures with them. On both tours we learned about the history of the farm and got to visit the graveyard where Secretariat is laid to rest, along with many other greats (Riva Ridge, Bold Ruler, etc.). Truly a wonderful experience that I *highly* recommend. Plus it is so cheap! My friend and I were able to tour Claiborne and also get two different tours at Churchill Downs on the same day for less than $100 combined!

An amazing visit to a breeding farm. We met so many champions. Learned a lot about the breeding process. Paid our respects to Secretariat. Petting and fed an 80 million dollar horse. The tour was a bit more people than I expected, but our guide made sure everyone could hear him, ask questions, pet/feed the horses and take photos. The tour felt like it went by so fast, an hour isn't enough to be around these champions. The best part was our guide, Rodeo. When my daughter learned he worked work Sham she was amazed! He was able to add a personable touch to the horses she only has ever read about and saw on tv. Thank you so much for helping her dreams come true! Your impact on a 12 year old girl from the city will last her a lifetime! I have no doubt she'll be itching for a job here one day!

Wonderful experience and beautiful farm! We learned so much- great tour, awesome staff, loved it!!
Very nice little museum. Informative with a little video. Dry friendly rangers to fill you in on what’s what. The whole area is loaded with history. Just down the road from a national cemetery. Free and a worth while visit.

It is a very nice piece of history. The rangers working there were very informative and helpful. It has roughly 4 miles of hiking, mostly in open fields with information signs throughout. Also includes a very nice museum with a 17 minute video.

This place was terrific! The rangers were very nice and helpful. The trail wasn’t too hard and it was amazing to see all the forts in Fort Nelson. The museum was neat as well as the barracks. Everything except the White House was rebuilt to show what it looked like.

Very nice National Park near Lexington. Miles of walking trails through empty fields that were Camp Nelson. Good signage to interpret the forts that protected the camp. A lot of history on those grounds.

Ranger Steve is the best!
We visited on a Monday morning and we did not do our research properly and didn't realize the visitor center was only open Wednesday to Sunday until memorial day. They do have passport stamp outside the vistor center thank goodness so we could stamp our passport books. We were traveling between new river gorge NP and mammoth cave NP.
Now the cool part was when the kids were working on their junior ranger books (we printed out at home) on the front porch of the visitor center when ranger Steve opened the door to greet us. He apparently had a meeting that morning and saw us just sitting out there. He offered to let us come in quickly to get some more stamps like junior ranger and offered us more different junior ranger books and even talked with us and thenkids for awhile. He also presented the kids with junior ranger badges.
Apparently the park store had just opened in jan 2023 and the logi desgin for the park is amazing. See photos in review.
We hiked a few of the trails and saw the earth works. It was sad everything was stilled closed like the white house. At least the barracks you could see through the windows. They had a large oversized portapotty outside in the paekibg lit too. There was alot of hiking possible here and the grounds are very well maintained. Even without paved trails you could see the trails based on their mowing patterns. Great place to get out and do some hiking or going for a nice walk. It was relatively flat. It was sad we couldn't watch the video and learn more of the history but there are plaques everywhere in the fields that you can read as well.
If you're passing through i would definitely recommend a visit. Staff and facilities were great. Just make sure you viait when the visitor center is open.

This was a wonderful place to visit and ponder the sacrifices made by those who paved the way for all of us Americans. It is a sentiment I often reflect upon as I travel to different NPS sites.
Camp Nelson is an amazing monument as it chronicles the best and worst of our American story. In turning out women, children, and families from their homes here we see the cowardice and hatred stemming from racism. We also see the heroism of formerly enslaved men risking their lives and futures for the cause of freedom.
One thing not to miss is the trail the meanders around the former camp. Be sure to take the path into the woods. It was unbelievably peaceful and thought-provoking to walk along the footpaths of those who were here. You also end up in the National Cemetery which is humbling in and of itself.
No NPS site is too rural or out of the way to pass up learning more about our storied past and the very real people that sacrificed so much for our often taken granted for modern life.

A gorgeous place to spend a quiet evening, there are miles of pleasant trails winding through the rolling hills, interesting historical markers, and access to bathrooms. Though the visitor center is closed, the trails are open during daylight hours and are gentle enough for the most inexperienced hikers.

For being a relatively new park, it's a good experience. Great movie. White House is being restored, so it's not open. Beautiful grounds with many trails.

I try to stop by Camp Nelson every year during their heritage days. For those that don't know it, there is an interesting history connected to it. While the event this year was not as large as the prepandemic years, it was still a nice place to visit.
Even without the event days, there is the tour of the home and several walking trails plus the small museum.

This is a sacred place!!!! I hadn't been there in decades. My sister and I used to ride horses all around this area. My sister was doing a KET documentary on the soldiers, and I played her makeup lady. Lol. This is a beautiful park. #CampNelson #KET

For a moving visit to an NPS site, this is it. The history of East Tennessee refugees and formerly enslaved enlistees and their families is told well, and it is fascinating to learn how the natural geography made this an excellent location to stage the United States operation to retake East Tenneessee. The rangers are among some of the most friendly I have encountered, and that is really saying something because I have had great NPS experiences across many parks. Well worth your visiting time - they also carry and excellent selection of books in the gift shop (I picked up two new ones!).

So much history here, and the promise of freedom serves. Inlisting US military, Blackman opportunities, ring the chains of bondage in a fight for the civil rights many signed up and joined, and then they were able to bring their families as well to live, get jobs as well as a education. THE HIKE IS GOOD,so is the history.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

Fairly new national park. The ranger was really friendly and helpful. Their museum was well laid out with lots of interesting artifacts. It was raining while we were there, so we didn’t get to check out the walking trails. There are a few miles of flat, paved trails that are dog friendly.

Newer Unit. Had to stop and donate time and $$$. Wasn't very busy early in the a.m. Lost my photos. Sarah was Ranger of the Park today. Angel in a Green uniform. She was very informative and full of information. I enjoyed my hour with her. She got my vote for Top Ranger.
Quaint dollhouse museum featuring reconstructions of American social history in miniature.
Amazing miniature dollhouse museum! Every display was beautifully detailed, and their dollhouse shop had an amazing selection. This is a nice and quiet place to visit with your friends or family!

This place blew my mind. Initially i thought, what am I DOING at a dollhouse museum - but this is so much more than that. Once you walk into the exhibit there is a HUGE room with so many different styles of miniature exhibits. Some are fantasy based, some are full mainstreets reconstructed. Highly recommend for any age.

My mom surprised me with a trip here for my birthday. We drove four hours to get there, but it was completely worth it! I loved every second of seeing American history's timeline in miniatures. Especially because I am a history teacher. Love, Love, Love!!!

I'm not a dollhouse guy. My wife is, so we went. It's one of those boutique museums that could be fascinating for young girls I suppose, or those still young at heart with fond memories of playing with their own dollhouses. My wife truly enjoyed our 60 minutes there, so let her experience dictate the 4-star rating. Of course, my own macho opinion in no way takes away from the intricacies and realism of the displays. Like it or not, they are exceptional.

My wife loves doll houses so much, we bought one of our real homes soley because it looked exactly like her doll house. She was really looking forward to visiting the Great American Dollhouse Museum and it did not disappoint! She purchased many miniature furniture peices in the gift shop and spent over an hour browsing the museum. I was also very impressed with the level of detail and craftsmanship that went into construction of all the various types of displays. It was a walk through time viewing the different cultures and eras depicted in the doll house museum. Very cool and recommended top attraction when visiting Danville KY

Fun visit! The work done on the many displays is amazing! The food on the miniature tables looks good enough to eat. The admission prices are reasonable, and the prices in the gift shop are more than reasonable.

My husband and I have always been interested in miniature model making and RR exhibits, so decided to stop here to see what they had. It’s a really cool museum. The exhibits are set up very well, making both sides of each house visible. Most of the doll houses were very done well with a lot of attention to detail. Many were themed.
Our favorite part was the fantasy area with trolls and a dragon cave. Wish they had more of that kind of thing! We spent our driving time over the next couple days of our road trip talking about the fantasy scene (including a miniature castle, medieval village, and dragon cave) that we’d like to design and make some day.
The attendant (the owner?) was friendly.

10/10 Recommend! $12(adult) all day pass sp you could leave and come back. The dollhouse shop @ the entrance was lovely. Vintage items, Everything you need to create your own doll house. Fair priced. The owner was very kind and welcoming.
The museum was absolutely beautiful. Each dollhouse haf amazing detail and you truly became immersed in history.
Not overly crowded while we're there but there were other spectators. However, it was a nice trip for families or friends to enjoy together. Definitely will go again.

I've never been anywhere like this. It doesn't matter if you have an interest in dollhouses or not, this place will blow your mind. What a collection.
I would add that the owner was very friendly. We arrived 15 minutes before closing, but she encouraged us to go ahead and take our time.

Absolutely amazing and history filled. When you walk in it's a store where you can buy dollhouse supply's and other neat things. The museum is to the back of the store. You pay at the store counter to enter the museum. Well worth 12 dollars.

Wow, wow, wow! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I wasn't disappointed. There are so many different dollhouses in a variety or styles. In addition to the dollhouses, they have vintage clothing and history displays. We spent about an hour here, as we had our toddler with us, but you could spend much longer looking at all of the dollhouses in detail!

This museum is a gem! I was pleasantly surprised, had no idea this even existed in Danville. I can highly recommend it, and if you are interested in creating your own - they have thousands of miniatures to pick from at very reasonable prices, no kidding. It took the owners many years to just break even, they really just know have begun to actually make a bit of money from it. Great experience, bring your kids!

Absolutely bonkers!! So many beautifully displayed, intricate houses and entire villages brought to life. Each display tells a story and has historical tidbits. Much, much better than expected!
The Mary Todd Lincoln House, a charming Georgian brick structure located on West Main Street, holds significant historical value as the childhood home of the First Lady of the United States from 1861-1865. Originally serving as a tavern for early settlers in Lexington, Kentucky, it later became the residence of Mary Todd Lincoln. Today, this protected historical site showcases its well-preserved interior rooms adorned with period furnishings and photographs. The museum offers tours and hosts various events to honor its rich heritage.
This is a piece of our country's history. It's so interesting to see the actual home with period furniture. I was glad to talk to the dedicated guides who shared so many facts about Mary Todd and her family. There is a nice little gift shop in back with lots of books for people interested in the Todd family history.

Definitely worth a visit. Only takes about an hour at most to do the tour. They have note cards in each room to tell you the significance of certain items in that room. There are also pieces furniture and other items that belong to Mary's Niece Katherine Helm. Small little gift shop on site, it was a little pricey or at least in my opinion it was, 6.99 for a small magnet was a bit much.

I have been to several history houses and this place could have done so much better. We made reservations in the morning. Once we got in there, I believe Elizabeth, gave us a quick introduction of the house. She was very knowledgeable but then she finished and told us we could walk through the house with the self-guided tour. It would have been so much nicer if she could have walked around and explained things. I also never understand why every "history house" will not let you on the 3rd floor. They always seem to be storage or office space. Office space for what? They had 3 people in the house that wouldn't answer questions. I was also surprised that they had converted many rooms into a gift shop or bathroom or office space. Many of those rooms could have contained more displays. I do realize they need to make money but give me an awesome tour and you will probably get a tip.

I enjoyed the tour. I think the guy I talked to was Jacob, he was very knowledgeable about the place. There was a couple of areas that were not the tour, like the attic, but there was a sign there to tell you about it. The back yard garden was pretty neat too.
And there is a gift shop around back as well. I got some t shirts for the kids and magnet for the fridge. I wish in retrospect I would have gotten an pair of the Abe Lincoln socks they sold.

We spent an hour here on a self-guided tour, exploring the rooms and reading the information provided. This was an important place for me to visit, as I have been fascinated by Mary Todd Lincoln since I was little.
I found the information on her formative years interesting, as well as the more current view of the contribution that enslaved Americans made during that time period.
I realize that it was her childhood home, but wish there had been more information about her later years, which are so interesting.
The staff were kind and happy to answer any questions.

Well, it cost $15 bucks per person, and i went with my wife, daughter, and son in law . it is a self guided tour. It wasn't that fascinating to tell the truth. it was jaw-dropping. History in that era wasn't the best, but I like history, so we went . But in my opinion it was not worth the money at all. Note the people running it were very knowledgeable and kind. the man working the second floor was so funny. I'm sorry I forgot your name if you are reading this.

Easy to go by because I was expecting a small house. Mary's father bought a tavern in a foreclosure sale, and it has five bedrooms.
Well, it was preserved with many original artifacts from the Todd family.

This is the house Mary Todd lived in as a teenager. They have done a nice job of trying to recreate the space she lived in. While it is a self guided tour there was a docent on both floors to answer questions. Very pleasant stop while traveling.

Learned something new today about Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. Great little piece of history to discover here. Kind of over kill on the attention given to slave labor though. I think we all know by now it was a part of our dirty past. Sad, but a fact of life then.

Nice visit to the Mary Todd Lincoln House. Good historical facts and artifacts about and from the time period. Place was restored starting in 1976 and has the intent of the time when the Todd family lived there. Gardens outside with bathrooms. It's self guided but has experts onsite to answer questions. Two floors of fun. I appreciate the factual tributes and mention of the enslaved persons' contributions throughout the home. It was 1800s Kentucky....

Alltech's Brewing & Distilling Co. can be found in central Lexington and specializes in bourbon-barrel ale, offering on-site tours & tastings. It's perfect for those a little tired of potent tipples of whiskey, with many Kentucky Kolsch and IPAs on the menu. The trademark brew is the flagship Kentucky Ale, which has a glowing amber hue and smooth finish.
We came here with some of our agents from our local real estate company The Agency. Our guide Boyd was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and he didn’t mind answering our broker’s many questions. We enjoyed our tour and were happy to learn more about the brewing and distillery process, plus of course we enjoyed the tastings!

We finally got back to Lexington and the brewery and distillery were open for touring. Our tour guide was informative, entertaining and engaging. Great tour with amazing connection to Irish whiskey and specifically the Pierce Lyons Distillery in Dublin. Stopping by for the only brewery/distillery on bourbon trail. Their flagship Kentucky bourbon ale is awesome. The townbranch single barrel never disappoints. We had a great a tour and tasting at Lexington Brewery and Distillery. Maria, our tour guide, was fantastic. The tour consisted of a tour of the brewery and then the option to taste beer followed by a tour of the distillery and then the option to taste bourbon. Everyone is given four tokens for tastings and it is up to you how you want to turn them them - either beer or bourbon. The tour group size was small and felt very personal. It isn’t a 21+ distillery only, but I would suggest if you don’t have too - then don’t. There was a small parking lot. Restrooms where available in the gift shop only.

My husband and I stopped here while we were passing through town and I am so glad we did! We posted up at the bar and split one flight of beers and one flight of the harder stuff. Our bartender was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we all shared quite a few laughs. The beers were all delicious, and I especially recommend the vanilla and orange ones. I was very excited to try the rhubarb gin, but am sad to report that it didn't taste as wonderful as it looked.
I love that they drew from their Dublin location for the decor and ambience. It definitely kept this spot unique and I'll be back anytime I'm in Lexington!

There's definitely a clear difference in customer service at all the distilleries. I think the attentiveness of the gift shop personnel can be worked on. Steven was a great tour guide enthusiastic and a great brand ambassador. However, I wasn't prepared to see fruit flies in a lot of the bottles at the tasting. On the tour we were told the bluegrass sundown was a visitor center exclusive and only able to be purchased there. I was just in my local liquor store and I see the bottle.

The Kentucky Horse Park is a sprawling 1,032-acre destination that showcases the historic relationship between humans and horses. It boasts the renowned Smithsonian International Museum of the Horse, which traces the evolution of horse breeding and their diverse roles in society throughout history. Visitors can explore various exhibits, including those dedicated to iconic horses like Man o War. The park also offers captivating equine presentations and horse-drawn tours.
Even if you don't know anything about horses this place is great. It's a beautiful facility with many things to see and do. Learning about the history of man and horse was very interesting. You will learn much more than just the history of race horse's but that was great too.

We stopped at the Saddlebred Museum first, which I would recommend. You can buy tickets there for the rest of the park, and it's less busy. The staff was all very friendly, some with golf carts offering to help shuttle people from barn to barn. We missed the meet and greets, but still met a police horse and a draft horse named Gus (we were told he's a fan favorite and understand why). I was excited that there was a restart on site, but the food could've been better. Overall, we had a great time, and our kids (all ages) had a great time, too.

First time here at the horse park. What a lovely day to visit such a lovely place. We enjoyed a carriage ride by the two draft horses as the lovely tour guide explained the park.
This place is amazing. This park is so large it would take a whole day to see it all. We enjoyed the museum. It showed the history of horses, the racing trophies and the Derby clothes that people wore throughout the years.
We took pictures with Funny Cide the 2003 derby winner. Thank you to the officer who introduced us to her horse.

Wonderful place to visit if you are in the least interested in horses. I visited for BreyerFest, an event for model horse collectors like me. Visited with husband and another couple who are collectors. I will say that in July you will likely be subjected to some pretty miserably hot conditions for most of the park, but the visitor center & other buildings are well climate controlled, including the Alltech Arena where many large events take place. Visitor Center has nice gift shop with something for everyone, including cold drinks & snacks. It also has nice clean restrooms. Leashed dogs are welcome nearly everywhere in the park, but be aware of your pet’s needs for cooling down in the Summer. There are fun things for kids to do, such as pony rides, opportunities to pet animals and a playground. I plan to return in nicer weather to experience some things that I missed, such as the museum & trail rides. There is a large campground with water & electric and also primitive tent camping. We tried to stay there, but waited too long to book, so RV sites were full. Next time I will book far in advance & go in Fall or Spring!

I unfortunately called this place after hours right before the sun was completely down. I don’t think I got the traditional experience, however I did walk around the property. I got to see some of the Hall of Fame horses relatively close, got to see the stables up close where they held some of the horses and learn some history about the sport.
This property was massive and seemed to be very well-kept. I don’t know too much about it, but it was pretty fascinating and I would absolutely love to come back another time during the day and get more of the traditional experience.
If you’re looking for a unique experience I think this is definitely a good place to go if you’re not from Kentucky. It seems there’s a lot of local heart poured into this sport and facility.

We enjoyed our visit. There is a lot to see. It was neat going in the different barns and looking at all of the horses. The shows through our the day are a must see so you get a glimpse of the horses in action and learn a lot more. The museums are very detailed and informative. They have a ton of reading. Be prepared to walk. It takes a bit to get from A to B.
Overall we enjoyed our time and it was well worth the stop. Overall we did expect to see more horses. With name we expected every paddock to have a horse. Horses were only in barns and there were some empty stalls. It was a cooler day when we visited.

The trail riding area was HORRIFIC. Over 20 horses left in a tiny pen with tack on for hours at a time. They were sad, looked sickly, some were clearly lame and one especially was so under muscled that you could clearly see its spine. Then they put a saddle on it that was way too far up the neck. Tack was dirty, saddle pads were ripping to shreds, and tack was ill-fitting. They loaded up the beginner trail riders and sent them into this packed pen full of angry horses kicking and biting horses with riders on them. They also physically tied a draft horse foal to its mothers halter, both were freaking out and stressed, posing a huge risk for mom and foal. The staff we met here (so far) have no idea what they are doing. The landscaping was not kept nearly as well as other farms we visited. Very disappointed. The stables were almost completely empty at 3:30 even though they said they close at 5:00. Absolutely ridiculous.

I recently visited the Kentucky Horse and had a really good time. The museum tour was very informative. I have never seen such beautiful horses. The staff is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend anyone visiting Lexington to go to the Kentucky horse park

We have been going here for Southern Lights for years. It has become a traditional between me and my brother. The lights are very good, but I do have to say there aren’t many new additions. It appears to be the same scenes over and over. The walk through the park is nice and they seem to offer new vendors and attractions along with some of the traditional events. The food and drinks in the cafe are pretty pricey. You kind of have to pick and choose what you want to spend on without paying an arm and leg.

My fiancé took me here for my first Southern Lights experience, and it was absolutely magical!
They had so many different displays, a lot of which were seemingly animated (had lights flashing on and off to depict movement)! My fiancé said it is usually very busy though, especially around Christmas time, so it may be wise to buy tickets in advance.
Once we got to the park, it was really cool! There was caramel corn, cotton candy, and a free petting zoo. We got to go around the park itself, and see where the horse races happen. We also went to their gift shop to purchase a classic Blue Monday Chocolate, and some souvenirs for some friends. I definitely recommend this place for a winter festivity!

Coming from out of town, I was only vaguely aware of the importance of horses to Kentucky and Lexington in general, but learned quite a bit about equines and their history.
The negative I think of this is there is A LOT of reading in the museums, to the point where it becomes very hard to pay attention and retain everything.
Seeing the old horses in person and talking with their caretakers was very interesting.
A good time overall!

Wow!! This place is amazing. I imagine in the spring and summer it's rather busy. We went in late fall early winter, and it wasn't very crowded, which made for an excellent visit. We got to learn all about horses, see amazing pieces, and even pet real winners. Check out this sculpture of secretariat, zoom in on it, and all the metal is horse related shapes!! It's such a wonderful place with amazing staff!

A beautiful place, full of equine history! We went here for the Liberty Festival but made time to drive around the grounds to see the beautiful views. You must stop in and take the tour of the museums and barns. Lastly, we visited the final resting place of the great Man O' War and War Admiral.
The Keeneland Race Course is a prestigious racetrack located in Lexington, Kentucky. It hosts various horse racing events throughout the year, including the prestigious Breeders' Cup World Championships. The track is also home to an impressive collection of equestrian-themed gifts and souvenirs.
Absolutely recommend this experience. What a gorgeous race track. We had so much fun. Highly encourage you to buy tickets well in advance. This place sells out quickly. Parking was great, no issues getting in or out however, we did stay until all races were done. Many people left before hand.
Get your race brochure when you walk in so you are prepared. So many windows open for betting and the people helped you if you are new to placing your first bet. After that, you'll be a pro.
Above all, we found the horse betting is a lot like March Madness, there is no crystal ball on who will win so picking your favorite name or cool color is definitely a strategy 😉

Enjoyed the park, beauty, hospitality - even in the off season they are open, let you walk and tour facilities on your own, see the track, box houses, go to stadium, tour beautiful grounds, see horses ( early in morn), see gift shop etc. It's all very clean, well maintained, quality painted, seems like nothing but the best everywhere. But the landscape, seems like thousands of acres of beautifully maintained grounds. I can't even keep my little yard half as good as they keep there's! Now the gift shop is exquisite too both that's both in quality too and the related prices.

Spectacular track! We were able to catch an early morning practice - which is free and open to the public. It was 29 degrees and sunny - which made for a magnificent experience.
We parked and walked track side and wee so close we could see, hear and smell the entire experience.
I definitely recommend calling ahead for hours and training location, this changes depending upon time of year.
Of note is the Track Kitchen restaurant which has an amazing breakfast special and is worth checking out after you watch the horses run!!

What a blast! I haven't been here for 30 years , it was amazing how it changed, I remember pulling up in the lot next to the Grand Stand. I was VERY happy to see the spittoons were gone! Also that people dont throw their tickets on the ground anymore.
The dress is a lot more casual than I remember. There were several people who took benches and moved them in a U shape to reserve them. The people behind us did that and never filled all the seats and also blocked the aisles making it difficult to get to and from our seat.
All in all it was a great day and we had a great time. Its a beautiful track.

Great time in the STAKES Room. Very nice atmosphere on 4th floor. Bar and food all included, and a betting assistance. Outside there is the balcony for great views and pictures. Food was excellent. Staff was superb. I asked about finding cheesecake and was told in the Phoenix Room and was going to get a slice after the current race, since the Phoenix Room faced the paddock. Within ten minutes some walked up with a slice of cheesecake and asked if i was looking for cheesecake... now that is service.

Most fun you can have in Lexington for $7. Parking is easy. Shuttles take you to the track. Each day has multiple races. $2 minimum bet. Get the program and pen for $5 They even have experts there to advise you if like most folks you have no idea about what is going on. See the horses in the paddock and then watch the race from the general admission area the view is excellent. You can bring in some small camp chairs if you need to sit. For food absolutely get the Ruben and for dessert the bread pudding is an unbeatable classic. Have a great day doing some People watching and enjoy all the outfits, dresses, hats, and fanciers. Once you put $2 on a horse to place another $2 on one to win and final $2 on a couple to show your invested and will find yourself yelling "come on 3 let's go!!!" And high fiveing strangers over your win. Or commiserating a loss. Really, if you have a free Wednesday to Sunday in this area in April or October you must visit for the culture the fun and just general pleasant vibes.

We visited the track early on a beautiful summer morning. No meets at this time of year, but we grabbed breakfast from the Track Kitchen and enjoyed it while waiting for the horses. Very fortunate to see training at the main track; watching them run is a sight to see.
Also drove around the grounds - gorgeous! - and really enjoyed our time here.
Definitely worth a stop even in the off-season.

This review is for the tours only. I’ve never seen the races so I cannot comment on those. However, I’m sure it’s exhilarating.
Our tour guide was Diane and she was absolutely fabulous. Keeneland is rich in history, beauty, and experiences. I would definitely recommend doing the tours if you are not familiar with horse racing. They have several different tours so pick which one suits you best. I believe tours are seasonal; call or look at their site to make sure. They also have so many events throughout the year so make sure to stay up to date on those!
Overall, just a great central bluegrass Kentucky experience. Definitely a must-do if you’re here during Oct and April. Thank you Keeneland for your hospitality, we can’t wait to visit again.

One of my favorite places! I love dressing up and attending either the spring or the fall meet. Definitely a smaller, more intimate, and a more beautiful venue. I love how the horses are walked in the paddock before each race! The staff are always very friendly and helpful. You can't go wrong with buying tickets for the dining rooms - absolutely no lines for betting or drinks. General admission tickets are fun too

My favorite & most beautiful horse tracks in the US. Everyone is so fun & happy during the spring & fall meets. Get to see some of the best thoroughbreds in the world, with the most beautiful scenery in the background. It’s a bucket list item for any horse racing aficionado.

We were here today for an employee tour only. The day was rainy, but it was so incredibly beautiful. I learned so much from Paul, our tour guide! He was knowledgeable obove and beyond mere Keeneland history. You could tell he was a lifelong lover of the sport!
One of the points he continuously reminded us of was the desire for Keeneland to remain historically beautiful and maintain a glorious green space. They have done that so well. It was a highly wducational experience and I enjoyed every minute!
Races begin next Friday and I would love to go back!!

The weather for the opening of the 2024 Spring Meet season was less than ideal for our trip to Keeneland, but it did not disappoint in any other way. Keeneland is a beautiful facility, that is impeccably clean with staff at every turn to help make your visit a memorable one. There is nothing like feeling the rumble of the horses in your chest as you stand next to the track for the final stretch. We are from Illinois and have traveled to Lexington many times as we visited three of our children who have lived there while attending the University of Kentucky. We have taken friends with us on our last two visits and they too have fallen in love with Keeneland.

One of the nicest race tracks around! Beautiful grounds, well-run, clean and wonderful staff! Prices are reasonable at the vendor stands and plenty of choices for food and drinks.
Must buy tickets in advance to ensure you get in; races were sold out when we visited. General admission is $15 and get there early to get a bench. Good idea to bring a bag chair; no backyard to sit, no coolers, no backpacks.
Great experience!!

I was advised to go before 10:00 a.m. so I could see the thoroughbreds work out. It worked, delightful to watch.
Then was able to see November Breeders auction. Beautiful horses brought on the stage and bid on--most bidding done within 90 seconds.
Grounds are beautiful and relaxing. No costs to walk the grounds.

This is a race track, but also seems much more. Pageantry when the races are going is interesting, diverse and elegant. The mood of the place is festive, somewhat relax for the uninterested aficionado and exciting. Food and drinks seem to be in abundance. Staff is helpful and gentle. The place cater to all members of the family. Facilities seem impeccable. Definitely a good activity to do, if in the area and especially during the main race seasons (spring and fall).
Self-guided tours of the Civil War battleground, plus a museum with battle video & war relics.
Thank you for least they not forget. This is one of the best Civil War preservation places I have ever seen and thank you for that because we should never forget the sacrifices are fore fathers made for are American freedoms. The video you show before the tour brings home the message of how each side suffered. The injured the dead and the missing. Thank you for all you do in teaching future generations

Visited here with the family for some fall fun…what a great family place to visit. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy the day. Price for entry was $14 each but well worth the money! So much to do and spread out over the farm so not so packed like other places! Zip lines, slides, bounce area, hay ride, baby animals, etc etc! So much to do for everyone!! Concessions available from drinks to full meals! Try the apple cider slushies!!Oh and pumpkins for Halloween!! Great time and worth every penny!

We went to this farm with kids yesterday. It was our first time and it was only one opened on Monday. Seamed pricy at first but it worth it. We spent the entire day exploring everything but it wasn’t enough. Definitely will come again. Kids loved zip line and slides the most.

Absolutely love this place. Definitely a great place for the kiddos to run around and play. Great food. I loved the apple cannon, the paint ball guns, and the ziplines. I loved the convenience of the hay ride so I didn't have to walk back and forth from the front all the way to the end. The corn maze is so much fun with friends. The mine cave made me chuckle. The animals were awesome and being able to feed them was so cool to me. The pumpkin patch is gorgeous as are the flowers. Definitely a place to go with your family. Also the gift shop had some great stuff (maple syrup, apple cider, apple pie, etc...) and lots of different types of pumpkins/flowers to choose from. I probably haven't been to Bi-water in over a decade and they definitely added stuff which I'm glad to see they are doing great. Definitely will be going more often.

Wonderful time at Autumnfest made even better by the fact our dog Heidi could join us (allowed everywhere except the store, which is understandable). Beautiful place. Loved all the flowers and the opportunities for the kiddos of all sizes to play.

Beautiful place. I think their best produce must have been at the Farmer's Market down the street. The clerk was super nice, but didn't know if the watermelons were seedless or if the corn was white or yellow. Some of the prices were fair; some were outrageous.

If you're looking for something to do with your children that they will love no matter what age they are Bi Water Farms is the best place to go. Not too bad on price and can stay as long or lil as you want. There's food ,drinks and everything you'd want to have a amazing fun day with your kiddos or take a date too . Here is a little bit about our family fun day there.
Absolutely loved coming to bi water with my two granddaughters, (4 &7) we had so much fun going through the corn maze and they just loved going on the hay ride back n forth to the different activities. And watching them going through the pumpkin patch ,looking for the perfect pumpkin was one of the highlights for me and their mom. Ohh my goodness they couldn't get enough of the different play areas they have. And as we finished up our trip We visited and petted all the animals they have there and as we were walking towards the front my 4yr old granddaughter looks up at her mommy hands folded under her chin and says mommy can we stay here PLEASE?? Took us forever to convince her that everyone had to leave so the animals could sleep.
Melissa Pettyjohn — Google review
Really enjoyed our time here. Some items to be aware of. Plenty of parking in the field next to the river. There is a narrow bridge to cross that can only fit one car at a time. We made the mistake of thinking this it like other pumpkin farms with only a few things to do. There are so many activities covered by the basic entrance fee you could easily spend the whole day. Many of the activities are geared towards kids making it a great family activity. The hay ride is really how you get around from attraction to attraction and was usually a very short wait. Had a lot of fun. Will definitely be back.

Went 2xs in the last 2wks it was great! Loved it. Though it was a little more expensive than I’d thought. Next time we’ll go on a school day & have the whole place to ourselves lol very busy on the wknds. $15 per person. But a lot of fun things for the kids to do! Playgrounds, zip lines, jumping pillows, slides, swings, corn maze, etc.
Established since 1812, a whiskey producer operates at a charming building complex and offers tours and tastings. Located in Versailles, it is only a 30-minute drive away from the place where the Castle & Key Distillery sits. The latter has been generating national attention recently as it was built on the former headquarters of Old Taylor Distillery constructed in 1887 but remained unused for four decades. If you haven't heard of Castle & Key yet, you will soon enough.
The grounds of distillery and the interior spaces are beautiful. If you plan to go to the cocktail bar, go before going to the gift shop. We went in the wrong order and had to make a second gift shop trip after tasting the great beverages. Alcoholic beverages at the cocktail bar come in a free souvenir cup. The "mocktails" were delicious too!!! We took the recipe cards back to the gift shop to purchase the mule mixes and bitters to make them at home. We would visit again to try a tour or tasting.

The tour was very informative and the tour guide was down to earth and very relatable! We were told that it was a 90 minute tour, but even though it went down to 50 minutes, it was still a great tour. We went to the tour and tasting, and the tasting was the best part. Getting to sample the different bourbons, and experiencing all the flavors were something different. Would recommend and would go again and again!

We spent a few hours at this beautiful distillery in central KY. For full disclosure Woodford has always been my favorite. We brought along our family and an out of state visitor from New York. The new welcome center is great! Our guide was informative and very pleasing during the tour. The tasting and discussions at the end are worth the trip alone. Our out of state visitor had never been to "horse" country or to an actual distillery and Woodford is perfectly matched for both

We visited the cocktail bar at Woodford Reserve. The bar was very nice. The cocktails are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. They also serve some small bites to eat, we got a cheese platter, which was very good. You can bring children here, it isn’t a 21+ only bar, however, if you don’t have to - I wouldn’t. There was plenty of parking here and the bathrooms were very nice and clean.

Beautiful setting. Visitor center impressive. Felt a little like herded cattle but our guide was great. It was such a beautiful and peaceful space!
The cocktail lounge was fantastic! You walk into the building and order your drinks or tastings. You get a metal key card to give to the bartenders outside. The cocktails are served in awesome souvenir glasses that you can take home as well!
The cocktails were absolutely delicious!
The gift shop had a great selection of merchandise and bottles for purchase.

We participated in the food pairing and tasting. The tasting itself was fun and educational but the “food” provided was simple grocery store snacks- you get one tiny helping of each - nothing fancy. They also offered a masters collection option during the tasting that is sold out and not able to be purchased- so why offer it. The experience was good for only $25 per person. Their distillery was set up really nice and the bar across the street had some rare items that can be purchased as a pour but not an entire bottle ( double double) $65 per pour.

Decided to go and visit Woodford Reserve Distillery while we were in town visiting a friend. Overall, i thought this place looked very modern and interior feel looked nice with a glass display of their bottle as decoration. Right across from their gift shop building, they also had a separate building specifically for cocktail bar so we decided to go and check it out. I tried their drink called "Spire" which was very tasty and didn't have an overwhelming amount of bourbon. With every cocktail purchase, you also get a free chilling copper cup to take home as well, which is very nice (u can also buy them at the gift shop)!
Definitely check em out if you're in town!

If you’re going to do one tour and want to see the earliest history of Whiskey/Bourbon in Kentucky this is the tour to go on. The original building where they actually make Woodford Reserve was built in 1838, the two buildings next to it in the late 1800’s. The visitor center is also very nice and has a lot of cool stuff. Didn’t find anything special in their Whiskey/Bourbon offerings available for purchase but very much enjoyed the experience.

On our Bourbon Trail visit we stopped at Woodford. The environment her felt very upscale. The grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting outdoors and having a specialty drink in their bar area. The only thing I noticed is the staff wasn’t as friendly here as some of the other distillery’s we visited. Still an overall 5 star experience.

One of the most beautiful distilleries around! I was not able to take a tour, but based on the apparent history around you as you walk around, it’s convinced me to want to come back again so that I can learn more about Woodford!
It feels like you’re driving around English country roads, everything looks very aged and historic, and the gift shop is stunning.
The only downside my husband and I experienced was the feeling that our kids weren’t really welcome. Especially compared to places like Buffalo Traverse, where kids are almost encouraged to learn and experience with their parents, that feeling did not exist at Woodford. HOWEVER, I mention that, and still give this distillery 5 stars because I still thought it was beautiful, and will gladly leave my kids home next time so I can come back and visit and get the full experience of the distillery.

My wife and I had a phenomenal time yesterday at Woodford Reserve. Or experience was highlighted by our tour guide Kathy. Her personality, charm, enthusiasm, and wit was so infectious and welcoming. Visiting the various distilleries give you a greater understanding of the history of bourbon within the walls and stories surrounding each one. Woodford’s historical past blessed with the youth of its bourbon today was an example of what it has to offer.

AMAZING!!! Woodford Reserve is a truly special place nestled in the hills of Kentucky thoroughbred farms. If the aroma of the mash doesn’t peak your senses, the architecture of the original buildings will. The entire team was super hospitable and Ashley was our guide through the experience. She shared her knowledge and passion for the craft, what makes Woodford unique and led us through a great tasting. The copper pot stills are a show stopper and something you don’t see every day.

I highly recommend if you're going to do this tour and tasting to make it your last stop. We really enjoyed every tour and tasting we did but Woodford Reserve was the classiest place. They really put a lot of effort into elevating to a higher level. I did think the old Forester tour was better but this was the best tasting out of everyone we did. The small bites they give you is each bourbon and the educational and informative information during the tasting was top notch.

I visit state capitol buildings. Kentucky has a very nice capitol with beautiful landscaping, gorgeous entry way with Italian marble throughout. An assortment of paintings and statues. Abe Lincoln featured in the rotunda. A interior dome that changes color. Grand sweeping marble stairs and stained glass throughout. Rich in history and pride, I would recommend this state capitol for a visit. The city of Frankfort is pretty cool as well. Lots of historical buildings downtown.

A visit to the Kentucky State Capital is a must. Not only can you meet with your state legislators, you can watch them from the gallery, see the dolls of the First Ladies and the quilt squares made for each county. The architecture is amazing and the Capital rotunda is a sight to behold. I would go early because parking fills up fast. There is a cafeteria in the Annex building where all the legislators office are as well.

Drive around only. Came on a Saturday afternoon so nothing was open for tours. The grounds are beautiful & it made me proud to be a Kentuckian. There are some really neat art installations/ sculptures and the landscaping itself has several areas that are living sculptures. And then.. as we drove around and discovered the ROSE GARDEN! It was all in bloom and just amazing. I have never seen so many different colors & varieties of Roses in one spot. Established in 1961 you can tell whoever has been in charge of cultivating this garden oven the years has to love the roses and what they are doing.. size wise its not that big.. but that just makes it even more special to me. Simply lovely.

Impressive Capitol Building and grounds. Parked, walked right in, signed in with security as was allowed to roam the building (State Troopers and staff were all friendly).
At the time of our visit it was obvious some TLC was needed but renovations have been implemented since. The House was in session so we took seats in the gallery to watch for a short time, then we strolled around observing architectural wonders and historical displays. Statues of notable people (Lincoln!) are located under the rotunda but we noticed empty spaces (Jeff Davis had been moved. BLM and Gov. Beshear had made their wishes known and that's too bad. History shouldn't be denied.)
Still, everyone showed Kentucky hospitality and we enjoyed our visit. I recommend.

I have been to around 15 State Capitols, this was one was really nice. My favorite part is it had the most fully functioning library out of all of them! The Librarian staff was so insightful about the history of the building and Kentucky. As well as being able to compare her own Capitol building to other state capitals. She was able to suggest a lovely spot for breakfast Andy's which was an absolutely delicious experience. So overall my trip through Kentucky in Louisville and Frankfort and a few other stops was very nice. I suggest everybody stop at the state capitol building.

Finished a tour with Mr.Lee Watts from Patriot Point and I am so glad we took our kids for the capital tour. We really want to come back when it gets warmer. It's so important we show our kids the place where their elected officials work hard to keep our state great. We learned so much about the Christian heritage in our history as a state something very important to my family and I.

We have visited enough capitols to compare and prefer the ones that actually tell us about the state history. This Kentucky State Capitol does. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time go in, but walked around this place and it was stunning. The building's exterior and grounds well kept.

This is a really good place to go see a piece of Kentucky history! The building is really interesting so definitely get a tour. Outside the building is fun to see as well. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to make a painting for the Governor's Derby poster!

Decided to try and make it to all 50 state capital buildings as they are complete marvels of engineering and building. The Kentucky capital marks my 8th, and it was quite impressive as the others. It had a very picturesque grounds, and immaculate inside of it. Luckily it was Tuesday and not much was going on. A few other visitors there.

It is a beautiful building with a lot of history. Construction started in 1905 and was finished at 1909. Granite and marble inside was from, Vermont, Georgia, and India. honestly, I wouldn’t enjoyed it as much if George and Linda hadn’t been there, they were delightful. Good people!
I WOULD RECOMMEND

The building is under construction and was closed the day I arrived, but I can imagine how beautiful the building is. The surrounding environment looks good even though it is covered with little snow. Will return in the future.

We’re working on visiting all 50 State Capital buildings and Kentucky’s was truly beautiful! Grand, pristine with tons of history and interesting facts, this was one of our favorite Capital tours. Our tour guide Scott Johnson was great, and shared tons of interesting stories about the building. 5 out of 5 ⭐️!

Very friendly staff. Excellent interior with a high quality marble floors. Visitors need to be careful as there are a lot of marble steps all around. If you focus on taking photos, there is a chance you slip down . Got a chance to walk into both House and Senete. Great feeling to feel the place where people's representatives discuss and make laws.

When I went there, I was at an event, which to begin with is nice, and there was a lot to see and do. It was so cool.
Time-tested distillery offering its own brand of bourbons & warehouse tours with tastings.
Such an AWESOME experience! I loved every minute of visiting Buffalo Trace. It almost felt like you were in a town of itself. One tip I'd give is to definitely make a reservation before heading over there for the day. They are continuously busy so it's hard to just show up and expect to be able to schedule a tour. Aside from that, the tasting/ tour is very cool and they have a huge gift shop where you can purchase a bottle at the end of the tour!
Mackenzie Feeley — Google review
Hard to find anything bad to say. Lee, our guide on the Old Taylor Tour, was our best guide of the trip. His knowledge and insight was fantastic. The gift shop has so much great merchandise it’s hard to determine what to take home. The tasting was great and I loved the bourbon ball and Freddie’s root beer with Bourbon cream combo. My harshest critique is that beyond the rotation releases you aren’t getting anything special here. But the grounds are perfect. The expansion will bring twice as much bourbon to the market eventually. This is the Mecca and a must stop. So much history.

This Place was absolutely amazing. We absolutely loved coming here and it was an amazing experience. We were lucky to have Freddy as our tour guide. He was incredible and made our experience perfect. If you are interested in getting good bourbon, you gotta stand in line early in the morning each day. We got in line at 8am for two days in a row and got Blantons and Eagle Rare.

Phenomenal experience!! Our Trace Tour with Jimmy C was educational but light hearted enough that we could easily joke around and/or ask questions. The distillery itself is massive, but so well maintained! I wish I could bottle the smell in the air.
Staff in the gift shop were friendly, personable, and beyond helpful. Additionally, the gift shop had such a great array of everything! I ended up spending way more than I intended, but self restraint kept me from spending what I wanted to... so we'll call this balance.
We had a great time and learned even more about bourbon than anticipated. We can't wait for a visit back to Buffalo Trace the next time we are in Kentucky!

Had a phenomenal experience on the tour and tasting. Our tour guide was informative and I really enjoyed seeing the distillery and the amazing scenery surrounding the facility.
The tasting did feel a little bit rushed, probably lasting no more than 15 minutes or so. But all of the samples were delicious, including the surprisingly smooth vodka and the really delicious root beer.
The gift shop is gigantic, and were we fortunate enough to get in early and grab a bottle of EH Taylor.
Overall, highly recommend the tour and tasting.

Visited Buffalo Trace Distillery with some friends for a bachelor party. What a great experience. If you enjoy bourbon, you will enjoy visiting this distillery. Our tour guide, Eugene, was knowledgeable and professional. He showed us some great spots around the grounds and then led the tasting after the tour. Lots of interesting history here at Buffalo Trace. Even got to see some Pappy Van Winkle and Eagle Rare.
Scott Coble — Google review
Historic facility, iconic brand, popular destination to purchase bourbon. Free tour was nice and keep in mind you are limited to one bottle per brand per person. Apparently there is a bourbon shortage.
The tour focuses quite a bit on the history. In fact about 25 minutes of the 70 minute tour was spent on the oral history. There is a short walk around the grounds, a stop in the barrel receiving dock, a short walk into one of the barrel aging warehouses, a quick stop in the Blantons bottling room, and finally a tasting room stop. It was an average tour compared to other breweries or distilleries visited. The tour was rather limited in geography--no access to the brewing room or basically any views of how the booze is made--that was disappointing.
Note--Eagle Rare sells out within an hour of opening on most days. I don't understand why they limit it so much. You'll find alcoholics, hipsters, and old-timers jogging from the parking lot to the gift store when it opens to make sure they secure their ONE bottle. Very strange. Good for Buffalo Trace for building a brand loyalty though.
Hat tip to Todd for an entertaining tour.

Let me start off by saying that they offer sampling even if you are not doing a tour. I feel this is key when it comes to new whiskeys you haven't tried. The staff is very nice and informative. The sample process is also very well structured. The gift shop is very large. We purched a ton. Definitely will return someday!

This was a magical experience! You cannot miss this one of a kind tour and it's totally free. The engineering that goes into how they make their whiskeys is phenomenal and mind-blowing. The experience of the tour guides is second to none and you will learn things you never thought of. I'm a fan of American Bourbon and this tour sets everything I believe in stone. Not to mention the whiskeys that will be available to you in the tasting and in the gift shop. It's worth multiple returns!!

One of the best free things I've ever done. All though i enjoy bourbon, i definitely didn't know much about it. During this tour, you learned pretty much everything about the process and the history of the distillery over the years. I am a buffalo trace fan and it was interesting tasting the difference between a $30 dollar bottle and a much higher priced bottle. I would definitely do it again.

Very organized! So you go in and park, then go to the visitor center/check in to get your IDs scanned and a wrist band. Then you walk into the actual gift shop and tasting room. There’s 2 stories, the upper level has the tasting rooms you go to after the tour and where you can taste of several bourbons (no charge), and then a small tasting station in the first floor for 1 special bourbon (I tasted the Traveler). Pretty cool! Ask them why the buildings and trees are black!!!!

We loved hearing the stories and learning the history about all the brands. Patrick was an EXCELLENT tour guide and tasting leader. Beautiful campus and gift shop! I don’t remember their names but the lady from Hungary that checked us in for our tour and the lady who checked us out in the gift shop… both super friendly and excellent as well.
The only negative was the lack of variety in the bourbon available for purchase.
We had a fabulous overall experience and will be back!

Great tour, tasting, and visit. It is great to see progress on the expansion. We visited on a Monday and didn't have a reservation for a tour or tasting. They were able to fit us in even though everything was unavailable online. They now have a tasting room above the gift shop, so it is worth just showing up and doing what you can. The earlier you arrive, the better the chance to score some bottles from the gift shop.

I will return again someday. We enjoyed every minute of it. I love how they belief in their product. They give free tours with a free tasting at the end. They do so well that their tours are often booked solid. Make reservations before you go.

Visited the famous Buffalo Trace distillery on my recent trip to KY. The grounds are awesome! If you’re looking for some of the allocated bottles I’d suggest getting there early. The gift shop is amazing and the fact that they don’t charge for the tour is also an added plus. We did the “hard hat” tour, it was a neat behind the scenes experience. Make sure to try a bourbon ball along with some Freddie’s root beer and bourbon cream. A must stop piece of American history!

We loved our first ever visit to this beautiful historic distillery we went 2 more days!Arboretum tour, The trace tour & a gift shop only day. Got there at gift shop opening time each day and we’re able to purchase our “quota” of the special bottle offering of the day. A complimentary tasting even comes with visiting the gift shop if you’re not scheduled for a tour! Everyone who works there is incredibly friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do. Leave time in your day to wonder the grounds, especially the gardens which are open to the public. There’s even a playground in that area for kids. The woodworker was very informative and it was fun to see his shop. We ate at Firehouse Sandwich shop for lunch & it was delicious. We truly enjoyed each day!

Buffalo Trace has very deeps roots in bourbon history, which you can learn during their free tours. It is a very neat place to visit, with people visiting from all around the globe. Scheduling a tour is a bit of a nightmare, because all of the tour slots are full months in advance. I recommend going on the waitlist for whichever date you want, because that’s how I was able to get in. You are able to visit the distillery without a tour and just visit the gift shop, which I don’t like because bourbon resellers come early in the morning and purchase the limited bottles they set out before the tour people can get to them. I believe that purchasing these bottles should be limited to touring customers. The gift shop has a lot of near BT products as well. There is a free bourbon tasting area, however, if you’re in a tour you cannot do a tasting since there is a free tasting at the end of the tour. I was fine with that until I realize both tastings had different offerings so I wasn’t able to taste all of the bourbons. Our tour guide was great and taught us everything about the BT history and showed us around some remarkable buildings. I recommend this place if you want to learn more about bourbon history and see how it’s made, but try to plan ahead and arrive early if you want a Blanton’s or EH Taylor bottle.

We got up at 3am and drove over 8 hours to check out this distillery and it was worth it! I gotta say the fact that the distillery keeps the alcohol prices at MSRP makes me a loyal customer. You can tell they really care about their customers. Form what I gather most the special liquor of the day is usually sold out around noon. I hope this helps!
Massive ship with 3 decks depicting Biblical tale of Noah's Ark, with interactive exhibits & zoo.
This was an amazing place to visit. Very Faith promoted. Fun to walk through a representation of the ark, and get the feeling that the flood really happened. It was a Saturday on the off season and wasn't too crowded, but I can imagine it gets very crowded in the summertime. We had the buffet dinner which was excellent. Saw the kangaroos in the zoo. Saw a couple of presentations in the answer center. Highly recommend it.

This was amazing! I'm so thankful that we were finally able to see this! Very well done, so lifelike! This was well researched and very informative. They answered any question you could think of about the Ark, the animals, what it must have been like, and how could it all have been done. We also saw the virtual encounter that took us back in time to the Ark & the flood! We loved it all! We bought a ticket bundle with the creation museum and saved a little bit. We went to creation museum the day before, then a full day at the ark.

This place was awesome. It just shows how great our God is. Loved the short films that are played on each floor. Must see from bottom to top. Perfect message of truth and hope. I was in awe. The greatness of our fathers love, and mercy and then wrath. What a blessing to have been able to see this. I highly recommend this and the Creation museum package. Go here on the 1st day then the creation on the 2nd. Bring your children and grandchildren and teach them the importance of Noah's Ark. Plant the seed in their hearts that when the Lord is with them, they can do ALL things through Christ whom strengthens them. And if he is for you, can't NOTHING be against them! 🙏🏻💖🙌✝️ A great message and memory to give your children/grandchildren!!

It's remarkable that someone built this with modern tools let alone in Noah's Day. Lots of information on each floor. Go prepared to read. Also, there is a lot of walking.
They have added things outside. The zoo is great for kids.

It is huge. Built to the specs in the Bible. 4 stories tall but you only see the bottom 3 floors. Easy accessibility as you climb ramps to each floor. You can spend 1 entire day here if you read and watch everything. So much to read and see. We spent 2 hours and quickly went through it all. Kids actually did get bored in the boat but it was very interesting to see everything and seeing how huge the inside boat is. The restaurant on site was good and actually cheap for a buffet at a place like this so I'm glad they're not charging overpriced food prices. Definitely worth a stop even if you don't want to be there all day. Our kids (9) were free as well so it was fine if they did get bored. They did enjoy the small zoo on site though. There weren't very many animals but that's ok.

Great experience and great for family. To see a life size of the biblical account of Noah’s Ark. You don’t realize the scale until you actually face it. The inside display is beautiful and awesome. The work that they had to do, had to be enormously hard but with help of God it was accomplished. We have cranes but they had ways to build which is mind blowing to figure how. Definitely recommend going on a visit. We also plan to see the other museum.

First time visiting the ark and it was AMAZING!!! What a great experience. Very biblical oriented and You're immediately overtaken in awe and admiration of the ark. It was bigger than I thought!!! Gives you a whole different view about how catastrophic the flood was and how much work it took not only to build but to maintain the animals and carry the food. It answers a lot of questions and gives you perspective on possible ways things got done. You walk a lot and it has 3 or 4 levels that gradually go all the way up, there's elevators too and chair you can rent for handicapped people and also strollers for toddlers, please wear comfortable shoes. It takes around 4 to 5 hours seeing everything at a moderate pace The ark gets really packed so try getting there early. We purchased tickets in advance and drove 6 hours but it was well worth it!! I highly recommend the buffet on site and also the 3D experience and petting zoo for children. Lots of souvenirs at the end. I recommend the beverage bottle with unlimited refills as well!
We got the ark encounter tickets along with the creation museum and it saved us some money!

Out of timeline experience! Hearing about Noah and the Ark growing up in church is one thing, but to see how massive it really was in person is another! Every member of the staff was exceptionally nice! The zoo was awesome. The buffet was one of the best I've ever had. Listened to and met True Song, the Ark Encounters own Christian group. They were phenomenal! Overall, 20 out of 10 on everything! Try to go on normal days if you don't like crowds. Holiday weeks are slammed. But that's to be expected with something so awesome like this! Fun and educational for anyone, bring the entire family. The inside displays about the biblical account of the flood, Noah’s family and God’s redemptive plan are creative, interesting, and awe-inspiring. The outdoor zoo was beautifully kept with garden areas to eat or rest. Many interesting programs throughout the day, some live and some multi-media. Easy to enter and exit the attraction and accessible for all. Plenty of reasonable food options, too. $15 car parking fee at the entrance.

This place was amazing and well worth the visit! I loved every moment of the tour. It’s was so cool to imagine what it would of been like to be on the actual ark! The wallaby petting exhibit was a first and fun experience. A worker takes you picture for you for free at the door with the cross. I tried to slip her a 50 but she would not accept it. I donated it to ark. It was that cool.

You must see this place! Pictures don't do justice (though they're helpful). Great experience. Everything was done very well, and I love the attention to detail in every part. It is very well thought out and gradually tells the Bibles story as you go through the Ark. There is plenty of seating to take rests. There are plenty of drink stations and bathrooms. Wasn't too crowded. The books at the gift shop are great. The visual graphics were amazing (kudos to the artist(s)). God food options on-site (a little pricey but worth it).

The Ark Encounter is a great and wonderful place!
My family and I went to this after spending the day before at the creation museum. We didn't think it could get much cooler but it definitely can! This by far was our favorite attraction between the two, It is so huge and inside. It has various museum exhibits as well as a clear display of what the arc could have looked like inside, and how it might have worked.
There are bathrooms on every floor. It is about four floors, with the first floor just being the line to get into the building.
We went on a very rainy day and there were not a lot of people there which was really good for us. But I saw some of the line cues and it looks like it could get very very long during a hot summer day, as we went in January.

My entire family loved the experience. Very informative and realistic scenes. So real inside that my youngest daughter (4 years old) thought the animals were real. She also asked to go back through it when we were done. We got there at 10:15 and left at 6:20. That was with us going pretty fast through the 3rd floor and about an hour in the restaurant

Nice experience. You have to read a lot to help understand. A nice concept is that they show the biblical and secular versions of the story. There are plans for a 600-seat restaurant on the top deck. That will be awesome. Also, there are several zip lines. Unfortunately, the weather kept us from riding.

Amazing re-creation of Noah’s Ark, built the same size as the Ark from the Bible’s specifications. We spent nearly all day there — we were happy to find bathrooms on every level, snack shops, gift shops, and places to sit and rest. The Zoo was fantastic too! The whole family will enjoy this very well done exhibit and world-renowned attraction. The restaurant was good too, buffet style so something for everyone.

What an awesome experience! Great for all ages. My 2.5 year old loved it, my husband and I loved it, and my parents loved it. Really puts it in perspective from your childhood thought process of a big boat. The ark held all the animals! This ark encounter sure gave you a real life feel for what is believed to be as accurate as possible. Play areas for kids. A zoo connected to it with some interesting animals! Allow the entire day for fun....we had to cut ourselves short unfortunately. We will definitely be back!
They offer stroller rental. Only $10!!!! Worth it, especially without the hassle of bringing your own.

A fun and educational experience for the whole family! It is neat to think about the intricacies and architecture of the ark itself, not something you consider every time you read the story of Noah’s ark. Thought the video clips did a great job building the story and sharing the gospel throughout the exhibit. Loved the details and appreciated the lists of potential animal groupings, how water and food were dispensed, and where/how Noah’s family lived. Lots of history through a biblical worldview.

Wow! My wife, her Aunt, and I had an absolute blast exploring the Ark Encounter in Kentucky! Let me tell you, this place is nothing short of awe-inspiring! When we first laid eyes on the massive Ark, we were blown away by its sheer size and grandeur - it's like nothing we've ever seen before!
One thing that really impressed us was how accessible the Ark is for everyone. They've got you covered with wheelchair and scooter rentals right on site, making it super convenient for those who need a little extra assistance. Inside the Ark, there was plenty of room to maneuver around with accessible chairs and scooters, ensuring that everyone can fully enjoy the encounter. They also have elevators throughout the Ark to help.
The exhibit inside the Ark was mind-blowing! We were completely immersed in a world of Bible history, learning about Noah, his family, and all the fascinating animals on the Ark. The level of detail and information they've packed in there is just incredible.
Oh, and getting to the Ark from the parking area was a breeze! A quick and fun ride on the bus took us right to the entrance, and when we were done, a swift ride back to our car. It couldn't have been more convenient!
If you're looking for an unforgettable outing, trust me, the Ark Encounter is a must-visit destination! It's not just for adults, either - they've got so much for the whole family. Kids will be over the moon with the on-site zoo, thrilling zip lines, and the awesome restaurant that offers delicious bites.
So, whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or simply looking for a fun-filled family adventure, the Ark Encounter near Cincinnati is the place to be! Dive into the world of Bible history and experience the wonder of a life-size Noah's Ark. We had an absolute blast, and we know you will too!

Drove from Texas and I highly recommend this place. It takes you there in the physical. Gives you wisdom and provides answers to so many questions. The staff is amazing! They truly are in the mindset that they work for GOD and not man. That is rare to see. The food at the buffet was good and that place was well run. We went in late Nov so the crowds weren't as big. Also something I didn't check in advance. They are closed on Sunday so the 3 day pass was important when coupled with the Creation museum. Please try the virtual encounter. It's worth the money. Very cool and we are glad we had the experience.

Such an AMAZING experience!!! We flew all the way from TEXAS to see this magnificent ark. We learned so much and EVERYONE was super friendly. The Ararat Ridge Zoo was the perfect animal touch to such an important part of the story.
The only negative thing I would say is because the experience is a little pricey the picture should be included with your purchase or NOT as high. $30 for a memorable moment is definitely a little too high. I did purchase several gift shop items so it wasn’t that I was being cheap but it’s pricey for a regular photo.

Really amazing place! It's difficult to describe the shear size of the ark. Even from a distance, it is massive. Once inside, it almost doesn't feel real. The craftsmanship of the timbers, the exhibits and the time that went into making them, the staff...its all a great experience. Outside, the food is great, the VR experience is a blast, and the petting zoo is a great time.
The historical and biblical accuracy, along with unknown facts, insights, and research really makes this an experience both educational and fun.
It can easily take all day, depending on how much you enjoy reading about each exhibit.
Highly recommend.

It is a bit on the expensive side. They didn't want to honor their "senior" discount, even when presented with a government ID without asking. Parts of it are more "preachy" and off subject. For example, why waste space with car crashes when the space could be used with on subject material. It was raining so we couldn't see the zoo, seems like they should do something to cover that area considering the percentage of bad weather days in that area. The real arc wouldn't have had open spaces and probably not the giant ramp. Certainly not something young children would understand. They should make some changes to the parking and shuttle system. If it is raining, getting to the shuttle is a bad situation and since you are already walking a lot, does the parking really need to be another hike? Lighting isn't good for taking pictures due to reflective surfaces and long distances in unlit areas. Lots of up selling going on just about everywhere. A bottle of water is $4 and they don't allow you to bring your own, that isn't good for people with health issues. It is a really nice place to visit, it just needs some re-thinking.

We just wanted to checkout the “Ark” to appreciate the magnitude of this thing - and it did not disappoint. We are Bible readers and we study the Bible, so we know a lot of the sights within the Ark are artists rendering or interpretation of what things “may have looked like” but we didn’t get caught up in all of that…just appreciated seeing the size of this thing and it was interesting to see how the builders interpreted ways Noah and his family created ventilation, stored water according to shelf life, grew their own gardens/vegetables.etc. Lots of things to buy along the way (snacks and gifts) many restrooms, elevators and they rent wheelchairs too. I saw that they have some zip lines and there is a small zoo you can walk through there as well.

We visited the Ark encounter with our family over spring break and had a great time. It was so educational to see how the art could possibly have been built how the animals could possibly have survived Noah in his family was so integrate in all of it. By the way, I never thought about dinosaurs being on the ark.

Great experience, lots to look at. If you're going, plan a whole day to be there. Thay have some good movies playing through out the day in the Answers building. I love the message behind the Ark experience. Someday God will judge the world again. A good reality check on where your heart is.

Amazing experience. Was very interesting, and unlike other museums that get boring from all the reading, they broke up reading with videos, exhibits, and other styles of reading, for example, comic strips that kept my interest. There was so much to do that definitely needs at least 4 hours, but I'd recommend it all day. There is a bus/shuttle that takes you from ticket stand to the Ark. They have a small zoo and an aerial/zip line course for kids and a virtual reality station. I only did the zoo, which was small but free. Will definitely come back with more family next time. I bought a parking pass online, which got me through quicker, but you can purchase at gate as well.

Amazing place highly recommended!!!
My wife and I spent 7 hours and we are planning to go back as it was very informative and enjoyable.
What a wonderful place thank you for creating this experience for all of us to share.
Nick Kirk — Google review
First we were most thankful that the gospel was clearly presented in multiple ways throughout the exhibit.
Second, we were impressed by the sheer size of the ark. There was a lot of helpful information given not just about the arc, but about the beginning and events leading up to the flood.
There is a note about artistic license, yet I did not see a note about the amount of study done before the beginning of construction.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed this; some else noted, there seemed to be a lot of commercialism reminiscent of a theme park like Canada Wonderland. There are two massive parking lots, which are served by a number of buses taking you to and from the main entrance. Then there is a labyrinth or maze of rails, like the rides at theme parks, twisting and winding around for those very busy days that they must have to get to the first ramp up to the first level. I think we were fortunate to be there on the school day however, there were a number of school groups or camp groups there making it difficult to enjoy the displays and take good pictures.
It is most busy in the mornings, so I recommend going in the afternoon around lunchtime until closing.
The buffet food was very excellent. Well cooked. Great variety. Well kept. For me, however, it would be nice to have more chocolate desserts! 🤣
We would be interested in returning to bring struggling, friends and unbelievers as we feel it might help them To see the reality of such an event.

Wanted to share more: Super fun!! My dad was ecstatic and in amazement. We couldn't go to all of the areas like the buffet or zoo, since we were short on time, maybe next time! Regardless great place to go with everyone of all ages.
Large winery hosting a tasting room & tours, a lunch cafe, plus on-site bed-&-breakfast lodging.
Totally worth the slow winding drive! Beautiful place, super friendly service, yummy food and fantastic wines!!! I enjoyed the flight but the Blush…I had to take several bottles home!!

Came here for a Valentines Day Dinner.
Way over priced.
Had to serve ourselves when it came to, drinks, making sure our order was being prepared even though we ordered in advance and had to pay in advance, and reminding them we were ready for each course even dessert.
On top of this, no one told us we had to do all of this. We kept waiting for a waiter or waitress. When after 30 min no one came to our table we went and asked questions. So you are your own waiter/waitress.
As far as the food, it was fine but nothing to brag about.
Also, the cost did not include any type of drink. So after over paying for food, you also had to pay for all drinks. Tea was not even included. There was no water on the table so you had to go get a glass of water yourself every time your glass was empty.
I do not recommend this place for Valentines Dinner.

For many of the wines the grapes are from other states but in Kentucky that serves to make them better. The Cabernet Sauvignon was very good; grapes from New York. The food that we had was very good. We had an excellent margherita pizza, one of the best I’ve had. The setting is very nice. It is adjacent to Elk Creek Hunt Club so there is audible skeet shooting.

Beautiful location! Wonderful service and accommodating, even felt welcomed having a preschooler with us. The wine is fantastic!! 10/10 Will come back for more next time I'm are in the area. The flight and serving size are well worth it, as well as the food and options!
Thank you for a great experience!

Fantastic wine tasting experience! The wine here is unique and flavorful along with the nostalgia of being made right there makes it it even better. The service was top notch with all smiles. The food felt gourmet with average prices. This is a diamond hidden. Perfection!

Have never posted bad reviews just usually let it go.
Today saw the signs on hwy.
I alwsys Support local wineris.
Called greeted with very nice lady invited me to come by 20 minute drive in my Rv challenging roads. Told me about great tasting wine cheeze plates for sale etc. Was excited to visit.
Walked in had to ask for a hello twice to get 1. Looked like she was putting together an event. The bartender could care less. Someone putting together food walked by him 6 times not even a nod. Maybe my looks? I dressed ok jeans clean shirt brushed my teeth and hair.
Must have caught them on bad day. Disappointed I persued and purchased wine. Maybe later it will make me feel better about the visit. Place looked nice. The Gun range was very busy.
Did not feel like they needed or desired my business. Never experienced this at any other winery.

Got a room at the lodge. My husband paid around $300 dollars for the master suite. No one showed us where it was in the house. We literally had to find it ourselves. The food was gross. No one put enough into their work and it showed. We not be going back.

I drove an hour out of my way to be here when the place opened, I waited 30 minutes and called and no one answered or showed up. The sign said they were open today and so does google!
Edit: We used GPS off of my finances iPhone. Here is a picture of the time saying it was open at noon. There were several others in the parking lot as well.
Update: This says vineyards and this is apple's maps. I will not be changing my review.

For being a vineyard they have very few wines, service was so so. we were here two years ago for our god daughter’s engagement. They had a good verity of wine, to day they had only one red and two white along with some fruity wines. Tastings we’re over priced for what you got compared to other vineyards within a 50 radius. Would not drive two hours let alone a hour for a pour experience

The wine and food were great. You might want to do a special menu item more often just to have options. Also consider adding a veggie burger sandwich. You can store the veggie burgers frozen and don't have to buy them in large quantities-- one more menu option.

We found this winery on Groupon 5 years ago and fell in love with the surroundings, wine, and seclusion. We go back for an overnight date night once a year and decided to get married there 2 years ago. It's an hour and half from home and it's nice quiet quick getaway. The place itself and wine are great the only compliant I have is the food/menu is definitely lacking. The feel of the place is upscale and I wish the menu reflected that as well however we will continue to celebrate our anniversary there every year as it holds a special place in our hearts 💕
What a wonderful day spending here. This place is beautiful. A very clean place. We did there free tasting which you have to have reservations. They have tours too. The grounds have plenty to do. Food was great and vodka samples

A must do during your Bourbon country visit. Plan to spend some time at this place, enjoy a tour and DO NOT MISS the 'straight from the barrel' tasting. The selection of spirits is limited as a relatively young distillery. However, their products made with bloody butcher corn are unique. I highly recommend their Vodka and Bourbon.

Beautiful property. Great story. We did the barrel tasting and we thought the tour was just right. Not too long and not too taxing, especially for patrons that already had consumed a beverage or two! Their pizza is fantastic! … And the beverages aren’t too shabby either! 🙂 The entire staff was friendly and informative. Thanks for a great afternoon.

The best kept secret on the way to the Outlets! Their food from the cafe is INCREDIBLE. Literally the best pretzels and fried pickles we’ve ever had. Huge portion for reasonable price. Warm environment and knowledgeable staff, we’ll never pass this place up when we come through in the future.

Staff was great, venue was clean and the food was good.
Had the 5 sampler of bourbons and a charcuterie board.

They also serve food but we didn't partake so I can't comment.

What a great experience at Jeptha Creed! Scott was our guide and was very knowledgeable. Loved the history of how the distillery came to be. Conducting the tasting in the warehouse was AMAZING! Thieving our own sample from the barrel was so much fun too. Thank you for honoring veterans as well. This distillery is a must visit!

We did the distillery tour for my nephew's 50th birthday celebration. It was great. Stan was our guide and he was the best! It was interesting to learn about the Bloody Butcher corn that they use. It was sweet getting to meet their rodent control staff! The tasting that came with the tour was great. My favorite was the Red, White, and Blue.

My husband planned a visit for us today at Jeptha Creed Distillery and we went on the one hour tour. Our guide, Hannah, was very knowledgeable, personable, and did a great job showing us the process. Beautiful facility, great drinks, and overall wonderful time.
Kim Lewis — Google review
First off - let me say that if you haven't given Jeptha Creed a chance for whatever reason , you need to rethink. Their bourbons, whiskeys, and brandy may not be for everyone, but they are as excellent as anything in the craft market these days. Excellent attention to craftsmanship and production, competent and creative distillery team, and an amazing armosphere of fun, family, and friendship greet you at the door. Next, I have to say the service at Jeptha Creed does it better than some of the "benchmark" distilleries I have been to. My wife and I came in on a whim, were greeted by two different staff members, and invited to ask about what Jeptha Creed had to offer for our visit. Then the young lady at the reception station waved down Scott, a tasting guide and Bourbon Steward, who squeezed us into a tasting flight. Scott was a phenomenal host for the tasting!! Knowledgeable and engaging and very much focused on breaking down the history and reasons for he uses of their specific grains and allowed the patrons every effort to truly taste the spirits on their own and without any suggestive influence. All in all, it was a top-notch experience! Oh, and being a veteran, they give veteran discounts and even have a veteran barrel to sign that is used in their Red White and Blue Bourbon Whiskey - of which I purchased a bottle. Highly recommend and will definitely return!
**Returned with a group from work, and they continued to impress. Nailed it on all points, and Michelle, our tour guide, was fun and informative as well as engaging and friendly. Great tour, great tastes and an excellent experience...again!!

Scott was an excellent tour guide! He was informative and entertaining. I spoke to him after the tour and asked for recommendations for other distilleries in the area and he suggested Whiskey Thief Distillery which was fun also. A good tour guide can make it break a tour, regardless of the location. Scott definitely is an asset for Jeptha Creek Distillery and the main reason I will be back there next time I visit Kentucky.

Free Bourbon tasting and excellent food. I am going to be stopping here every time I come through the area. Bourbon is top notch. Got the sunday special, 3 big boys couldn't finish it. The photo is after we had our first round of eating some of the food.
If you are looking for a slower paced, classic country farm, almost forgotten lifestyle, please come to this slice of heaven winery. Best deal for tasting within and hour radius (no limitation). The charming Smith-Berry team made us feel like family (farm dog and cats included). We even had a kind wave from the resident farmer in overalls. Recommendation for middle of the road wine lovers (Semi/Sweet) Half and Half, Sweet Stevie, Stevie Rose’, and Vignoles.

My wife and I love Smith Berry. We've yet to try a wine of theirs that we didn't enjoy and we love the concerts during the summer. The food at the concerts are a great way to try local restaurants and it's such a pleasant way to spend an evening. Also, there's a really cool dog that walks around and greets the concert goers.

I LOVED my experience at smith berry winery for my 22nd birthday. I paid for the 8$ wine tasting & ordered mainly sweet & sparkling wines - they were incredible. I tasted smith berry for the first time about a year ago at the lake, I tried the sweet blackberry flavor.. WOW 🤩 it was best wine I have ever had, very rich, colorful, and flavorful.
🍷 🍇 we also got the garlic cheese & crackers which were amazing paired with the wines as well.

Smith-Berry was a nice stop off the beaten path on our way back from Kentucky Speedway. The location was nice and peaceful. The grounds were nice and the seating outside was ample for a few groups to sit in quiet and enjoy the tastings. The tastings were good. We purchased 6 bottles of wine from them. They were having a concert Saturday evening, we couldn't stay however if we did we would have for sure enjoyed it. The dog Burley was absolute our favorite. He was very sweet and friendly. He allowed us to pet on him. They had a nice pergola with seating next to a nice fountain. When my Bride is happy I am happy.

I’m not sure where the good ratings are coming from. There were 3 other groups of people there, one was a young group so I believe they enjoyed their fruity wines…which is good because all they had available were either/or fruit or sweet wines. We tried a Cabernet Sauvignon which could have passed for a sweet wine. It tasted like syrup. We went last weekend, on a Saturday, and the girl behind the counter could have been the least bit interested in helping us. She pointed us in the direction of the end of the counter with her finger and told us to look at the white sheet since that’s all available. Food was your basic bag of chips, or a chunk of cheese. Even the poor cats there seemed ignored since they were begging for attention so came and sat at our table the whole time.

The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass is a contemporary open-air outlet mall located just a short drive from Louisville, Kentucky. It features a wide range of popular brand-name and designer shops, as well as casual eateries. Visitors can explore stores like RH Outlet, Coach, Kate Spade, Nike, and Polo Ralph Lauren. While some shoppers have found great deals here, others feel that not all stores offer significant discounts. The friendly and helpful staff make the shopping experience enjoyable for many visitors.
Very neat clean open air facility with many authentic name brand legitimate outlet priced stores. Most of these stores are ver easily accessible from the main walkways with multiple very helpful directory boards stationed around. There are multiple layers of security for your safety. The restrooms are very well kept.

I feel outlet malls need to have better prices without waiting for special sale days, etc. We only bought from 2 stores. Vera Bradley and Eddie Bauer. They had some sales going. At EB, you have to be careful as there are sale signs all over, yet it might only be the shirts or lower rack on sale, etc. They have somethings on clearance marked at 70% off. Same with VB. I wish pricing was clearer.

I made a special trip here for my first time since it is well over 3 hrs drive for me. I went for 3 shops only. The first one was for shoes. The outlet was tiny and didn’t have my size. The second was closed with no explanation posted on the door. The third was the dog treat store. It was open and I bought treats and that’s why I am giving 2 stars rather than one. This is place has the smallest selections of stores of any outlet center I’ve ever been to. I won’t be back without more stores moving in.

Went with the family to do a little early holiday shopping but there was nothing early about it! A good variety of shops and prices/deals tend to be decent. Facilities are always clean and kept looking nice. Plenty of parking except on black Friday as is the case everywhere. The food court is OK. It's a little expensive for what it is, but there are plenty of other restaurants and gas stations directly next to it if you want other things. There's also other little snack-type places within the outlet mall. It's also dog friendly and has a dog station by Old Navy. Some stores require a carrier and at minimum a leash. Plenty of rides and game options for kids too. They decorate seasonally and have plenty of seating. There's also a fire pit area to warm up. Not an open fire. There's a wishing fountain for which proceeds go to the KY Humane Society. Be mindful that to get from store to store you will be outside so go on a day with good weather or come prepared.

I really like the outlet mall. It always gives you this sense of 'it is okay to buy' (or it might be just me). The areas are always clean, there is a good variety of stores; always have good sales going on. They decorate so pretty for each holiday/activities/special day. The bathrooms were cleaned the last time I visit and the waiting area inside of the woman's bathroom is very comfortable. I will like to see new stores thought and for some reason the times that I have been inside the food court it is always empty even if there are a lot of shoppers around.

Some stores are good. Some stores are bad. Some stores aren't even needed in an outlet mall. Shop here or don't.
I am glad we have an outlet mall close. Now we don't have to go to Indy or Georgia for outlet shopping.
The only thing I'd suggest about going here... Go with an attitude that you're not buying anything. Sometimes you'll luck upon a few good deals but a large majority of the stores say they're having deals but you'll look around and realize... They don't have any deals.

If you are looking for a place to shop and pretty likely find something for someone in your life or you need a shopping day for yourself. We researched wineries that are supposedly dog friendly. Every other winery that we’ve stopped at that was posted as dog friendly either happily allowed a dog inside on a leash or directed us to an outside area where we could participate in a wine tasting.
This winery, when asked, did not offer us the option of having our dog on their very large patio or allow him inside. When asked why we were told the woman who was attending to the bar has a dog that isn’t friendly to others. 🤷♀️. We left.
Nature resort with polished rooms, an outdoor pool, a local cuisine restaurant & golf courses.
We had the Easter lunch buffet here and it was wonderful! Very well organized and arranged. We didn't feel crowded or crushed. The food was very good and the price was very reasonable. This is a beautiful park!

We took the lake and fossil trails. Both were well marked and enjoyable. There were deer everywhere on the fossil trail and we only saw one other group on the trails during the day. It's disappointing to see much of the park shut down. The golf course and skiing are gone, even the frisbee golf course was overgrown and looked abandoned. If you want a quiet day in the park with no one around this place is perfect. One note though, none of the bathrooms were opened.

Beautiful setting but a sadly tired hotel. Very hard for these state park lodges to compete with Disney World, water parks, etc that attract family travel dollars now. Vintage 70s decor. The views of the Ohio River valley are timeless, though.

I’m truly concerned.
I would love to see someone come in and show this resort the love it needs!!
The trees are covering up the beautiful views. I love the trees, but even the view area is completely covered.
This place has so much potential!!
We would love to see this place make a turn for the greatness it could be!

Cancelled reservations, which had a reservation fee, only got back 25%. Park grass all grown up, side walks covered in debris. Looks very neglected. Won't be going back.

More active in summertime.the views are great from the cabins, picnic area, observation deck and while playing disk golf. There is a restaurant and lodge, shelter house, basketball and tennis courts.Campgrounds are nice. There is a large Beach with a shower House Have many boat ramps, but lake is lowered in winter time. The old house and family cemetery easy walk.

I am sitting on the back porch of the cabin I am staying in for the weekend. Any sounds of nature are drowned out by DJ music coming from across the lake, it is quite loud and disruptive. I hope they are enjoying themselves, Sometimes relaxing can be pretty stressful.
Rooms were mostly good. The electrical outlets need replacing as the bedroom lamp keeps coming unplugged and I think that is mold that is see on the baseboards in the bathroom. The kitchen has a ‘funky’ mystery smell. Glad we brought the Lysol.

My husband and I stopped here for the afternoon just to check the park out and relax. Neither of us had ever visited the park before. I thought it seemed pretty nice overall.
We walked around for a little bit, but truly only stayed about 15 minutes. Why, you ask? One word.
Mosquitoes.
The mosquitoes were absolutely ridiculous. They found us within a few minutes of walking around and would not leave us alone. And these weren't normal mosquitoes. They were big, wasp-looking, you can feel them when they land on you, type of mosquitoes. So gross.
By the time we made it back to the car, we had both been bit a few times and I had killed at least 6 of them. 2 of them found their way into the car as we were leaving as well and I had to take care of them. Ugh. It was not good.
Needless to say, I am no longer interested in visiting this park until the mosquitoes are gone for the year. Perhaps we'll come back in late fall.

We stayed at the campground at site 19. We were right behind the bath house. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was very quiet. Lots of wildlife was visible from our site. It was very nice. All spots have their own picnic table and nice fire pit. Will definitely be back.

Everything was great during my stay. The service desk people were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was old, but nice and clean. No microwave, but not a big deal for me for just one night. The breakfast was fantastic! Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take the breakfast to the room, but the food had justified the inconvenience in full. And dear management, please, let your staff accept the tips!

Rita at the campground makes that place absolutely spectacular! She’s kind, attentive and very detailed oriented! She will always go above and beyond for people and she’s quick with a good camping story! Never let her go!!!

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. They compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed.

Location, hiking, and front desk service (Sam and Chloie) outstanding.
Pool and spa have no water and need repair. Restaurant in Lodge also closed for repair. Water main burst on Xmas Eve 2022. Many lodge rooms also under renovation for the same reason. Very disappointing that the website made no mention of this

Overall not a terrible place but by no means great or even good for that matter. The price for amenities is insane. There are cabins that are wildly overpriced, half the lodge isn't useable, the pool hasn’t been operational in at least 2 years and the mosquitoes are out of control and obviously not being treated. I won’t be taking my family back but again, it’s not awful. There’s just way too many cheaper options with more amenities and things to do.

The cabin was minimally cleaned. I had to sweep the main room and wipe dried food out of one of the chairs, there were dead moths behind the bathroom door. However, once those two tasks were cleaned up everything else was great. When explained to front desk staff they were very quick to notate. I did see work crews working on other cabins while staying, so maintenence is a priority.

Had an amazing 5 day stay here in the campground! The park is now a favorite. Camp Hosts Jimmy and Rita make you feel right at home! Plenty of level sites but its wise to check a visual before booking as some sites are more suitable for tent camping then backing an rv into. This campground is small, scenic, and very well maintained. We'll be coming back here soon.

I am so appalled by the roads in the park. I have truly loved this park my entire life, and this is absolutely unacceptable. It’s also unbelievable. I have never seen the roads in this park fixed in decades. Their so called repairs are pathetic. There are no excuses for this whatsoever. What are you doing with the tax payers money, refusing to fix our park’s roads? Decades later and nothing! It’s practically impossible to drive up this hill, without feeling like you need to drive in the middle of the lanes. The side of the road is so bad it makes you think you’re going to fall off the cliff. It’s terrifying driving on it, period! Do something for goodness sakes, this is beyond as bad as it gets. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This beautiful, and monumental park deserves so much better!

I stayed in a cabin at General Butler State Resort Park in August of 2023. The temperature outside was almost 100, but my cabin was cool and comfortable. I also hike the Butler Lake Trail during my stay and took some beautiful photos!

Husband and I are currently embarking on another adventure, and we've made a delightful stop at General Butler State Resort Park Campground, specifically at site 42. This spot, complete with water, electricity, and sewage connections, was perfect for us as we needed to refresh and recharge. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful upon our arrival, kindly directing us to our designated site and even offering their assistance if any issues arose. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the heartwarming encounter with a deer as we entered the park. It was a truly magical experience that will forever hold a special place in our memories.

We got a cabin for my friends and I and when we got there we realized that they had moved our cabin without telling us, we needed an ADA compliant cabin and they moved us to one that was not. They brought us a ramp but it was a bit wobbly and not a solid solution so I ended up leaving my power chair in the car and bringing my manual chair inside. The room was supposed to sleep four but there was only one bed and not even a couch, so we used our own cots and air mattresses. The restaurant on site is great, the employees were nice and very apologetic, I'd go again as long as we get the cabin we ordered next time

It's a great place to just swing by for a bit of Mother nature. Always enjoy my visits. Either for a long stay or just a visit, it's a beautiful place.

We were told the restaurant was good but when we went, there were no signs, nothing to help us find a restaurant. We went into the hotel and asked for directions but the lady there was not helpful so we ate elsewhere and it was delicious and I won't bother trying this restaurant again.

Oh, and Patty… she’s a real treasure. She took extra time to ensure we were having fun and even provided suggestions for other activities in the area.
This is a must see! Be sure to say hi to Patty!

Can’t go through Kentucky without doing a bourbon tasting! This place was small but put together well. Got to taste, tour the distilling and bottling areas. Host was very knowledgeable and was willing to answer most of your questions. If you want intimate bourbon experience, this is the way to go.

One of the best tasting experiences on the bourbon trail. Our guide loved bourbon and loved telling the story of their product.
I know Jefferson’s isn’t for everyone, but they love their craft here.

What a fantastic little jewel in the crown of the bourbon trail this place is. It’s a small facility packed with love and great people. Oh and the bourbon is delicious too. Patty was our tour guide and was by far the best guide we have ever had the pleasure to experience. She is knowledgeable, fun, and full of energy. What an invigorating breath of fresh air she is. I’m SO happy we took this tour! They offer discounts for first responders and veterans, but even at full price, the $12 cost of admission is well worth it. Our designated driver was able to tour at no cost. Thank you KAD for an experience that was outstanding!

Really enjoyed this tour and tasting. There were just 4 of us and our guide, Laura. She made the history really live and was great with our silly questions. This was the first tour where we thoroughly enjoyed everything we tasted. Hadn’t tried Jeffersons before and it was delicious. Even the lowest tier was smooth and nuanced. Would highly recommend this tour and tasting.

Over the years my wife and I have done a number of tours including some famous ones in Ireland, but we actually found this one to be the most interesting one we have ever been on. Wes was our tour guide and he provided a great deal of interesting information in a very understanding and enjoyable way. The time just flew by. We got to see some interesting stages of distilling that we had not really been able to experience. The tasting was extremely well done.

Great experience. Much different feel than some of the larger experiences in the area, and it is the first contract distillery I’ve visited. Everyone was so friendly from the time you walked in to walking through the distillery and chatting with the people working. Dee was informative, and you could tell she was passionate about their story. It almost felt as they were welcoming you into their home. Great selection of bourbons at the end of the tour.

This was a really cool place. We had visited several of the larger distilleries so this one felt quite homey and personable. We spent the most amount of money buying from here. We can’t find some of there selection near us and some is only sold in Kentucky. It’s really cool to hear how they collaborate with small distilleries in the area. Oh and they have a shark you can track named Jefferson!!!

Had a great experience tasting thé bourbon at this distillery. Beautiful, well organized and the host is very good at explaining. My favorite bourbon from this distillery is the Ocean, the one aged at sea.
Highly recommended for a nice tasting experience.

Tour was short and sweet, but gave a lot of info! We were in and out in a hour. Tom was our tour guide and he was great! There was a bourbon tasting at the end. Though I didn’t partake, I heard the bourbon was good and strong. The tour price is cheaper than other distilleries because it’s not in the heart of downtown.

We went on the tour with a group of friends and a tasting. The tour was very informative about the origins of the company, I just wish it was a little more informative about the making of the products. The bourbon tasting was pretty cool and interesting. We had a nice time.
