Located in Pincher Creek, the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village offers a blend of outdoor exploration and historical immersion. The village is complemented by the self-guided Heritage Acres, featuring various historic buildings and antique farm equipment. Visitors can also enjoy natural beauty at the nearby Oldman Dam Provincial Recreation Area and Lundbreck Falls. The village showcases local history with interesting characters from the area, making it a miniature version of Calgary's Heritage Park but with its own unique charm.
Really cool place to visit. Lots of historical buildings and items to see. The cafe was closed which was a bit disappointing but understandable. The price to get in was very reasonable. A lot of things within the village were disorganized, but it gives you more to look at. It was not too busy and there are nice paths to walk on from building to building. Definitely recommend to anyone stopping by pincher creek who is interested in southern Alberta history.
Rachel Sera — Google review
What a wonderful surprise of a museum! We had seen it advertised on a roadside sign for Southern Alberta sites to see, and so, we had to see it.
It's like a miniature version of Calgary's Heritage Park, but with a local flavour full of interesting and historical characters from the area.
We would highly recommend a visit and make sure to stop at the Cafe for lunch and some ice cream or homemade cookies to take home.
We went through all the buildings in the village and had lunch. All told, we were there for four enjoyable hours.
Vicki Koersen — Google review
There’s too much to see in one day. This museum is a hidden gem in SW Alberta, truly amazing & a must visit.
Every building is a unique historical experience & they have a great gift shop & ice cream area.
The staff which I think are mostly volunteers, are friendly & knowledgeable. A must see in Pincher Creek!
Christina Gompf-Alksne — Google review
A lot of walking and climbing stairs. Dogs are not allowed. Took about an hour and a 1/2 very hands on.
Marilynn Barnes — Google review
At first I wasn't sure if the price worth it or not but after my visit, I was really satisfied. The village were full of amazing building, history and beauty. They serve fresh snack and drinks. Definitely, recommend there.
Sakama — Google review
This place is probably the best historical village museum I've ever visited. I stumbled upon it on my last day in SW Alberta in October 2022 and spent over three hours exploring the many buildings- but I could have spent six hours if I had the time. The cafe was closed, probably because it was the off-season, but I had the village practically to myself. Highly recommended to anyone who visits Pincher Creek.
Cascade — Google review
A very well-laid out historical park with lots to see. Most buildings are fully open to the public, with an amazing number of artifacts on display. The landscaping is beautifully done and cared for. Obviously, a dedicated group maintains this hidden gem in Pincher Creek. We spent 2-1/2 hours touring the exhibits, and really enjoyed it.

I loved it ! So glad I visited it. So much history all around us! Took the scenic route 22 the cowboy trail South. Very windy!!
The museum itself was fantastic... Stood in Kootenai Brown's cabin in awe!
You have to stop in and see this place!
Leanne Landers — Google review
Amazing and best of its kind that I've seen. So much in here and such pride in community in Pincher Creek. It is crazy that this place is not a CAA gem, because it defines gemdom. I'm so glad we came back to Pincher Creek and explored a bit.

Incredible Historical Village!!!
A great place to bring the whole family!
Many places from different time periods of Canadian history. So many artifacts to look at! You will want at least 3 or 4 hours to go through it all.

Cameron Falls is one of four notable waterfalls in Waterton Lakes National Park and can be easily accessed from the townsite. The falls offer a picturesque view from a large viewing platform that is enjoyed by visitors. It's possible for the waterfall to occasionally turn pink after heavy rainfall, making it an even more unique attraction to see. Despite being located within the town of Waterton, Cameron Falls remains a beautiful little falls that's worth visiting while exploring this scenic area.
Beautiful place within the town limits. Peaceful and serene listening to the waterfalls. Hiked up both sides of the falls.
Definitely worth the visit especially since it is about a 10 minute walk from downtown.
Luke Loran — Google review
Simple falls right by the side of the road. Usually pretty crowded given the convenient location with lots of parking. Great to see it coming from the rocks. Nothing much to see other than this here.
Aquil Jaison — Google review
Perfect spot to stop on a rainy day!
Right off the road, lots of parking and a great view of Cameron Falls.
We had a 3 and 5 year old with us in the dumping rain but they loved to see the falls and were okay with the short paved walk up the right side of the falls and the view from above.
We just appreciated the minimal effort for the big reward on this one!
Amber Pahlke — Google review
Beautiful falls right in the edge of town. Quick walk from almost anyways in waterton town. Definitely a must see if you are in town
Ange D — Google review
It's a beautiful fall in the town with a short hiking trail on the side to have a closer look from top. You can do fishing as well but not a really large area to explore. Also, parking available right in front, for wheelchair accessibles as well. It's has beautiful scenic view if you go other way around, the one from the lake side passing through campaign areas towards Bertha hiking area. It's just lovely town to visit nd to spend time away from city life. Also, they have ferries to take you around US border to visit 30 min.
Simran Kang — Google review
Beautiful little falls right in the town of Waterton.
Gurvinder Sahota — Google review
Very accessible, pretty little spot on the edge of town. Perfect for a visit with a group of toddlers as they were able to hop out of the car and immediately see the beautiful falls. A lovely short, paved switchback took us up high enough to thrill the little ones and it was a lovely spot for photos.
Bonus: across the parking lot was the most sanitary and comfortable public bathroom I'd seen all week in our travels around southern AB. Highly recommend for a pit stop!
Amanda Robertson — Google review
Cameron Falls is a hidden gem nestled within Waterton Lakes National Park. This picturesque waterfall captivates visitors with its cascading beauty and serene surroundings. The rushing waters, framed by lush greenery, create a mesmerizing sight and provide a tranquil atmosphere.
Eric L — Google review
Easy walk from anywhere in town. Beautiful falls. Can walk up to view falls from above as well. Definitely worth a stop when in Waterton
S N — Google review
Cameron Falls is a very pretty waterfall close to the heart of Waterton Lakes. It is a short 10-15 minute from walk from the centre shopping street and is a great place to take photographs.
Colby — Google review
It's a great place to see and right there in the town-site.
We visited in the spring and the falls were raging from the spring runoff, it's a very majestic site to behold!!
Dana S — Google review
Refreshing mist and beautiful view from the bottom. Super light hike to the top of the falls.
Deer everywhere and clean bathrooms available. Highly recommend as a simple and enjoyable spot.
Hikes through a red- & green-tinged river gorge surrounded by wildflower meadows & mountains.
Beautiful place, easy hiking trails. Make sure to bring water, especially on a warm summer day. If you want to soak up your feet and walk up the stream, I would suggest you either have sandals or water-shoes, as I did not.
Definitely go earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds, as you might not have a parking spot in the afternoon.
Annie Rocque — Google review
So beautiful! The trail is super easy! Perfect for kids. They’ve added a lot since I was here last. You can really see the beauty of the waterfalls abs nature. Great walk/hike to do with the kids and lots of nature to see! Wild flowers are so stunning!
Melissa Holbrook — Google review
Beautiful place to hike, picnic and jog. The mountain stream is clear and helps you keep cool in the summer. Lots of wildflowers to see during June. The parking is right at the trail head so it's easy to get to.
Patplace88 — Google review
Mesmerizing and engaging landscape with a short and effortless hike. Because of this, it is usually quite crowded, especially with families and kids enjoying the water. It might not be the best spot if you're looking for a quiet, personal experience. However, the ease of the trail and the sheer beauty of the views make it an absolute must-visit, even if you're sharing the experience with others.
Candice Wong — Google review
I haven't been here in years and it's gotten way busier. Beautiful red rocks and an interesting little hike. Bring water shoes and possibly change of clothes as you will definitely get wet. Lots of people, very busy. The bridge on the far top path was closed, so no way to go around the canyon on the top.
Svetlana Yanova — Google review
Absolutely spectacular family hike! The falls themselves were nice, with all the safe railing and man made government approved stuff but go up past that.... the forest full of wildflowers, easy creek access and mountain views was amazing! returning home to the parking area and playing in the Red Rock Canyon River to cool our hot feet and enjoy the fresh water was brilliant!
Scott McDermott — Google review
The drive to get here was beautiful. Lots of parking and essential utilities. You can walk the paved path around the canyon, about 15 minutes. Hike down in the canyon along the stream. Then hike over to the falls, about 15 minutes from the lot. Got there about 9am and it was nice and quiet, but by 10:30 it was quite busy.
Chad ____ — Google review
Red Rock is always worth it. The drive will likely land you a view of a bear or two. We found a young one but hind leg was clearly broken and limping. Poor thing! Hit by a car no doubt. The canyon is walkable. We only go down into the are under the bridge. Lots of peeps around competing for pics. The walk is usually a loop and you cross over bridge at the top after a very short walk but it's boarded up on both sides. No doubt it I not stable after the fire that ripped through this area a couple of years ago. High recommend for an easily accessible activity 👌
J B — Google review
Wonderful and unique red rock canyon that is easily accessible by car. The best tip that I can give you is to go early to avoid the crowds. Even at 8AM on a Sunday (8/21/2022), you will likely have the entire canyon (and the nearby falls) to yourself, and enjoy it so much more. At the time of this review, there is construction at the canyon so you are unable to go deeper into the canyon or access the trails beside the canyon.
John B. — Google review
The jewel of Waterton, and one the most scenic trail heads. The trails there are all beautifully worthwhile, too. Take it slow and take all the colours in. Submerge all your senses in this eternal play of lights, sounds, smells, earth, wind, and water intertwining. Let your spirit soar at every so often glance at the pointy tip of Anderson Peak ever-present in the backdrop. Shake yourself loose of all daily sorrows and woes, even if only for a fleeting moment.
Don't forget to enjoy the road there. It is easily one of the most scenic drives in the world.
[I took all the pics in this post, except the road pic. It is my auntie's as I was driving.]

It’s so beautiful. There’s so many cute hikes with amazing views and the drive there is beautiful as well. Great parking and they have washrooms. There’s is paved walk ways and nice bridges. The red dirt and nature is obviously beautiful, the water flow is so crisp and clear and fun to splash in. I was there on a weekend and it was definitely overcrowded but still a great place to see.
Peter Goertzen — Google review
Amazing Canyon with red rocks truly unique. There are long and short trails from the parking spot. Speaking of parking lots there are two upper is small and lower is big but a bit of walk so good luck finding one on upper lot on a busy day few washrooms. Views of mountain and canyon is just breath taking. I have reviewed other spots in Waterton like prince of whales hotel etc check out my reviews and list of to do things in Waterton Park. Single day or discovery pass required to enter also follow for more.
Vids Tube — Google review
Such a beautiful area, we got here early on a very hot day and the place was quite busy when we left a couple hours later. Started out by walking around the top. Then walked into the canyon. Our feet didn't stay dry long. So I recommend a water shoe. Near the end are natural waterside that we had a lot of fun on.
S N — Google review
We ventured out to Red Rock Canyon with high hopes of an epic outdoor adventure, and while the natural beauty did not disappoint, the facilities left a lot to be desired. Let's talk washrooms – or lack thereof. It was like stumbling upon the wild west of restroom situations. Unmanned and untamed, these washrooms were in dire need of some human intervention.
Picture this: a line of nature enthusiasts forming outside a restroom, hoping for some kind of magical appearance of cleaning supplies and a bit of freshening up. But alas, it seemed like a scene straight out of a deserted town. The washrooms were long overdue for some updating and cleaning love, like they were stuck in a time warp where toilet paper and soap were ancient relics.
Now, I get it, Red Rock Canyon is all about that free-spirited, wild vibe, but maybe a small surcharge could do wonders for maintaining these essential facilities. A mere $5 could be a lifeline for those washrooms, making them a bit more inviting and giving the whole place a touch more charm. With the influx of visitors, it's easy to see how the experience could be dampened by the lack of basic amenities.
In the end, the stunning views and rugged terrain made up for the less-than-ideal restroom situation, but a little investment in the facilities could go a long way in making this adventure even more appealing to all us nature enthusiasts.
Bry Gutierrez — Google review
Right upon arriving at Red Rock Canyon, I was pleasantly surprised to find wheelchair accessible bathrooms conveniently located near the entrance. While they were not flushable toilets, they were well-maintained outhouse-style bathrooms, providing a clean and accessible option for visitors. I was delighted to discover that the bathrooms were equipped with a diaper changing station, which is a thoughtful addition for families with young children.
During my visit, the park was undergoing some maintenance or construction work, but it did not significantly hinder the overall experience. In fact, there were several sections of the canyon that were wheel-chair and stroller friendly, allowing everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. It's important to note that due to the ongoing construction, not all the trails were perfectly straight, which may require some extra attention while navigating.
Red Rock Canyon is a true visual delight. The contrasting red and green hues create a stunning backdrop for any kind of photography, whether you're capturing family moments, couples, or the captivating nature itself. The canyon's vibrant colors make it a perfect spot for capturing memorable pictures.
As you explore the park, you'll come across a variety of hiking trails suitable for all levels of fitness. From shorter 1-kilometer routes to more challenging treks spanning 15 kilometers or more, there's something for everyone.
Overall, Red Rock Canyon is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts alike. It’s a memorable experience for individuals, families, and friends seeking to connect with nature in a breathtaking setting. I highly recommend visiting Red Rock Canyon for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.
Quick note: still lots of burned trees from the wildfire back in 2017

A nice excursion just 20 minutes from Waterton! This wide canyon features distinct red rocks and a small stream of water running through it. There are typically large crowds, especially on a weekend during summer so try coming early to avoid them. There is a nice pathway along the outside of the canyon where you can walk around, and you can also walk down into the canyon which a lot of people do. Take off your shoes and you are free to splash around in the water! The parking lot is nicely sized, with a restroom on site as well. Check this out when you're visiting Waterton!

Red Rock Canyon (and area) has breathtaking scenery. We did the short hike up and around, and then dipped into the canyon to explore. The water was so clear and icy cold! We also stopped along the way and wandered various trails. I can't wait to come back!
Explore the rich history of coal mining in Western Canada by taking a tour of the Bellevue Underground Mine, the region's only authentic underground coal mine. Descend 1,000 feet into the mine and experience being 150 feet below the surface as you learn about its inner workings and historical significance. Don a miner's hat and light to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this unique experience.
This is a great tour, takes about an hour and the tour leader will explain to you many aspects of underground coal mining. Very informative and a great experience for young and old. I've been there twice with my 4 1/2 year old grandson and he really enjoys putting on the miners helmet and lamp and going into the mine.
Tom Yanota — Google review
This tour is very cold! The temperature when we went through was 0° Celsius!! Do not bring good shoes as they will get scuffed with coal dust. There is a lot of standing around and not much walking. The tour lasts about an hour and there is no leaving the party once you're inside. Bring winter gear including a winter coat, toque and mittens.
A Hesitant Traveler — Google review
Wow! Such an amazing experience. You can expect to spend an hour in the mine. It is cold down there, so bring a jacket! The tour guides are super knowledgeable. Ours was the perfect mix of informational and entertaining. Check out the signage inside the check-in station, it's very informational and gives you a good introduction to what you're about to experience.

A must see tourist attraction in the Crowsnest Pass! The guides are friendly and engaging with the tour groups. It is a step into the past seeing how mine sites operated right down to learning about the horses used for mining. Please make sure you dress warm-my family did not dress warm and they were freezing! I would even bring gloves.
T G — Google review
A really neat place to take kids. Great history lesson from the tour guide. Very knowledgeable staff. A great look into the history of what Crowsnest Pass used to be like. Tour guide was very helpful with my little 2 year old guy and very accommodating. He had a blast. Just a reminder to dress warmer, underground is a bit cold.

What a great experience! Out guide Cole was amazing and very knowledgeable. The mine itself is so interesting to explore. It's very cold inside so pay attention to instructions and dress for 0°C! Cute little gift shop too, we got stickets and a poster! Thanks again for a great experience.
Jovanka Vekaric — Google review
Very cool to see how the coal was mined and to be able to see the inside of the mine. It's a decent size, but very cold! Dress warm! I would come back someday if they ever decided to expand it

This was the best experience!! Our guide, Diane, was the absolute best!! Very informative, so nice and made the tour soo much fun. Definitely go if you get the chance. The tour was very personal and there was lots of opportunities for questions, so make sure you come with lots 😊
Make sure to dress warm though!! Especially if you run cold, they tell you to, and I wore a sweater but it wasn't nearly enough, even though it was +31 out!
Natasha Kuizenga — Google review
Excellent guide doing the tour, very knowledgeable. Nice gift shop, lots of parking. Many artifacts from other mines as well to further the look into the history of coal mining.
Highly recommend this museum and experience.

Thank you hunter!
We had a great tour and loved every minute of it. So glad we stopped! It's wonderful to see such a big part of history.
J Comrie — Google review
The tour guides are knowledgeable locals with ties to the mine. Lots of interesting sites and exhibits. Temperature inside is 1 C and at one point they turn all lights off to demonstrate the darkness, so be prepared for those.

Must stop here! Very cool (literally) to go back in time and see how things were done! We had an amazing tour guide thanks Diane!

I came to The Bellevue Mine with a couple of coworkers. We work at the Atlas Coal Mine near Drumheller. As heritage interpreters, we thought we knew all there was to know about coal mining. Boy were we wrong. We learned so much on this tour and how different coal mining was in the Crowsnest Pass compared to the Drumheller Valley. Our tour guide, Cole, was so knowledgeable. He was a confident, fascinating guide and gave us so much useful information that will take back to our jobs. He was patient with the little kids, but also with us and our many questions. We had a blast and I will definitely tell everyone to do this tour. It’s fun, exciting and great for people of all ages. Thanks to Cole and the friendly staff at the Bellevue Mine.

Awesome place to discover Bellevue and it's history. The tour guides were informative and full of energy. Would absolutely recommend going there for a day trip!

For the who like history or if you have child above 12 years. This place like to visit few people who like coal mines and history.
I also recommend that wear jackets to much cold inside.
The Frank Slide Interpretive Centre is a museum that showcases the history of the Crowsnest Valley and the tragic event that occurred in 1903, when a deadly landslide took place. The exhibits bring to life the early days of mining and railroad development in the area. Interactive activities are available for children to enjoy. The highlight of the museum is a film dramatizing the disaster. Additionally, hiking trails from the museum take visitors over the slide site where they can experience this unique heritage first-hand.
Interesting interpretive centre, but the highlight for me was the hike through the slide. Be sure to grab a brochure or it’s just a bunch of rocks. We still had fun coming up with our own interpretations :-) A unique experience!

This is a lovely historic site to visit. It is a natural masterpiece showing the handiwork of God the master creator. Lovely sight and and view, a great place for relaxation and with lots of parking and seats and table for mini family picnic. It's always a delight to be here and connect with nature and hike the trail.

Great & informative interpretive center! Staff is super friendly & soo knowledgeable on Franks slide. What a sad moment in history, but what an amazing way they've captured & continue the story of what happend. Definitely worth checking out! You wont regret it. Also, great photo ops of the slide itself.

This is a spiritual place, where parts of a mining town and its inhabitants lie buried under a huge pile of rubble from Turtle Mountain. The Indigenous people of the area called it the moving mountain. They knew about its temperament. My only disappointment is that I visited on a Monday and the interpretive centre was not open.
B Kossowan — Google review
My first time visiting Crow’s Nest Pass and I’m enjoying learning all the history around me. The Centre is very informative and has many educational exhibits.
Gaby Trompisto (deathbykite) — Google review
Stunning displays and views! This centre is laid out in such a way that you always feel like you are looking outside.
They have a beautiful path you can hike on outside, just be aware that it starts out fairly accessible (wide, well maintained but with a gravel surface) and transitions to uneven gravel steps and steeper slopes, until it finished with a “trail” hike back up (narrow dirt foot path with roots along a steep slope). You could always turn back and go to the wider path. This isn’t a knock against the path - I personally thought it was beautiful and nice to see all the different types represented in one adventure, however if you have mobility challenges it concerns be aware ;)

The power of the “moving” Turtle Mountain. A great lesson for us to collaborate and esteem our Indigenous people and First Nations before you put a spade or a drill in the ground. Very enlightening and heroism. Many stories.

Highly recommended! Carve out the time and stop here for a couple hours. Great flow, helpful staff, clean and full of some unique Alberta history. It really helped me see things a little different afterward. Best $15.00 you will spend in the area.
The Dark Side of Lightwork with Wynne Thornley — Google review
Well curated and in-depth look at the abject tragedy that occurred over a century ago. Ideal for family and adults, as there are interactive exhibits, artifacts, and general area history.
The FSIC also includes the history of Hillcrest Mining Disaster.
Chris Clark — Google review
A must-see. The tour guides are knowledgeable about the area and are welcoming with their information about the Frank Slide and the Hillcrest Explosion. There are many viewpoints to view Turtle Mountain and facts are located at each one. Two films which explain the time period and life around Frank, AB were interesting and informative about the natural disasters. Would like to come back in the springtime to explore the path they have below the mountain.
Hayley Starlight — Google review
Visiting the site of natural disasters and observing the impact on the landslides , with big rocks and a sense of history, can be a somber experience. The information center is a valuable resource, providing useful insights, and the availability of videos about the slides enhances the understanding of the area. While there is an entry fee, the numerous parking spots make it convenient for visitors to access the location.
Destination Diaries with Matt — Google review
The center is totally worth it. It takes about 1.5 hours as it includes two short films in a nice theatre. Kids has lot of fun as there was a lot to learn, great stories, kids coloring station ample parking & washroom and the best part is the amazing view of the whole slide & turtle mountain from the centre. Check out the images/videos I have added & follow for more.
Vids Tube — Google review
There’s a short film that explains the history of the place, the people who lived in the town, the day the disaster took place and other facts. Quite interesting to stop by and check it out if you’re passing by the area.
Anna M — Google review
The Frank Slide Interpretive Centre is a great museum to stop at when passing through the Crowsnest Pass area.
The museum itself is very well done and really focuses on the impacts of the slide to the town and the individual people affected by it. It is cool that you can pick up receivers to hear audio clips describing their experiences. The displays are also incredibly informative and well put together. A great place to learn.
There are also a lot of great views to be had outside and from on top of the centre. The only downside is that the staff were very pushy about wanting you to go to the films being shown in the theatre. Maybe this was just my experience, but I wasn’t pleased with the insistence of one staff member.

Castle Mountain Resort, located in the southwestern part of Alberta, is a hidden treasure for winter sports enthusiasts. This smaller-sized resort offers challenging powder runs alongside cross-country skiing trails. Owned by 200 shareholders, the focus here is on having fun while skiing, despite the older equipment. Castle Mountain Ski Resort boasts an authentic character and laid back atmosphere that truly captures the essence of winter sports in the Canadian Rockies.
Really enjoyed taking the kids here. They terrain park to a beginner area and even have a chair lift for beginners as well. Even a carpet ride for a bunny hill if your very new or have small kiddos just learning. Can't wait to go back next season. Affordable, friendly. Food is great. Nothing is over priced. Very fair for sure. Super easy to find your way to the hill, and also easy to get around on the runs.
Adam Huehn — Google review
Love the variety but not great for beginners. Even the greens on the “Huckleberry” lift are pretty steep. My 13yo (who has skied) was stuck with the green lift / bunny hill since the other greens are noticeably tougher. The bunny hill is a little too narrow (compared with Alta, Brighton, Snowbird) with the encroaching housing development.
My older teen liked Huckleberry and heading all the way to the top of the mountain even though it was stormy.

All of our guests and vendors have not stopped raving about how this was the most beautiful places for a wedding they have every seen. Amazing staff throughout. It was quieter than usual so we didn't have to line up for tickets or rentals, but for busier times you should definitely visit the castle mountain website for tickets, and the Alpenland site for rentals. Definitely a very underrated. Marie is a highlight such a loving person free hugs. Skiing is awesome here. It doesn't get 5 stars from me because the lifts are very old and slow and need replacing. Not only that they don't have singles lines which is frustrating if you ski single.

I was a little disappointed with this property. The “hotel” room felt more like a private hostel room. While the room was mostly clean and in decent repair, the bed was extremely I comfortable and the previous guest’s trash was still in the room.
The main function hall was nice, but has no air conditioning. This made the event extremely stifling even though it was relatively cool outside. If they are going to rent out their facility for summer functions, they need to remedy this.
The best thing was the food. The function I attended had appetizers, a buffet dinner and late night snack and all were delicious!
Service was adequate in the pub, but excellent in the function space.

Love skiing here at Castle Mountain, one of my new favorite places. Close by home and it usually always has great snow. ❄️ Friendly people and so much fun to ski at. Challenging for sure in a great way.

Very little snow at new years, but looks like that is finally changing. Wide variety of terrain for all skill levels. Friendly, affordable and rarely lined up.

Really great skiing experience. It was not busy at all on a long weekend. Never felt crowded, didn't have to dodge people. Conditions were good and everything seemed well maintained.

Amazing as always. It's even better when mother nature plays nice and gifts us more snow. Here's to 2024/25 and huge white fluffy dumps!

Awesome little hill that was worth the drive from Calgary. Very laid-back and family oriented scene. Went on a Saturday and was surprised at how short the lift lines were. Will be back next season for sure.

We went to visit our daughter in Blairmore, and she took us for a drive all around the back roads, and we ended up at Castle Mountain Resort. Beautiful day! There was a wedding there that day, so we peeked in the banquet area. Really beautiful place, even in the summer. We didn't eat or anything, but my daughter said it's a great place to eat. Beautiful houses/ condos for people who want to live right on the mountain. Will definitely try to make it back in the winter to experience that season.

So great! Some rain but lots of powder! Was a wonderful experience and I am planning my next trip now!!!
The Fernie Alpine Resort is a year-round mountain retreat that offers skiing, biking, dining, and more. It is a popular resort in the Rockies with excellent snow and top-notch facilities suitable for skiers of all abilities. The ski terrain at Fernie is perfect for adventurous skiers with steep slopes, deep snow, and lightly wooded hillsides while also providing easy runs perfect for beginners.
Had a great day on the slopes. No sun, some wind but great snow covered runs! This resort is very conscientious regarding covid as everyone is wearing masks while getting on the lifts. Can't wait to go again.

Amazing resort!
Stunning views at every turn, terrain for every skier and boarder of any skill. Lift lines never get crazy, large varied runs allow for great dispersion even on a busy weekend. Plenty of great food and drink options on mountain and in the village. Signage is great and easy to find everything here. Would highly recommend a visit here and will definitely be back when in the area.

Amazing diversity of ski terrain over five bowls. You can ski here all day and not ski the same piste twice. The people who come here to ski are cool and down-to-earth— not like many of the pretentiously pompous skiers you see at many "Epic" resorts. Fernie might very well be my new favourite ski place to ski!!

My family and I went skiing and snowboarding here in the middle of January....the whole family had lots of fun. Lots of powder higher up in the bowls...lots of great runs to choose from. Lots of black and double black runs.

Awesome place for a ski holiday, plenty of runs .good parking, and restaurants. There is plenty of accommodation close to the pistes if you wish to stay close to the action or in the town of Fernie. Otherwise it's a long drive to other towns to stay over. You can also drive to resorts in the US such as White Fish.

This is a lovely mountain - as you can see, there is a 360 mountain range around the ski hill and you really feel like you're on top of the world. At the top, you can see the condensation accumulating just above the mountain peaks, as well as bright areas illuminated by breaks in the clouds, truly a breathtaking experience.
But just a few heads up for the snowboarders, if you decide to go up the Bear chair (which you can only access via Elk), be sure that you're comfortable with narrow paths and precipitous edges - don't let the fact that it's considered a green run throw you off!! It took me a long time to go down this path and I would have had a better day had I left Bear for the end of the day or after I've gotten more runs in. The height alone is very intimidating for a certain people, even the skiers that I went with.
It's not surprising that the majority of the people I saw here were skiers, there are many narrow flat spots that skiers would have no problem with but that snowboarders would either have to have enough momentum to keep going or would have to walk.
Snowboarding newcomers should stick to deer or elk chair to get the most out of their stay.
FUN FACT: the wooden cabin pictured below (that you can see on the right hand side as you're going up the Elk chair) is the location for Hot tub Time machine 1 & 2!

I grew up in Fernie and watched this family owned ski business grow into a world class resort.
Regardless of your ability, you will have many parts of the mountain to explore. The hill has been built over three natural mountain bowls which provides stunning views from the top.
The runs that have been carved into the sides of these bowls provide steep and aggressive terrain for expert level skiers and boarders who want to shred the hill.
The centers of the bowls provide gentle slopes for those who come for a relaxing day enjoying moderate terrain with lots of tree runs.
Fernie is famous for its powder. Due to its location, the snow is dry and light and after a good dump will give you a powder day that you will never forget.
The resort is located low in the mountain so the lower runs are subject to warmer weather. It’s not uncommon to have melting snow and ice at the bottom with great conditions at the top.
There are hundreds of rental opportunities right on the hill including many ski-out lodges. There are re also large home that sleep multiple families available for rent.
The town of Fernie does not have many restaurants or places to enjoy night life for a resort of this size. This is the biggest negative to choosing this location over other options like Whitefish.
Douglas Greff — Google review
Fernie has something for everyone - from beginner-friendly vibes all the way to shred dawg steeps - the whole family will love it here. The prices are super reasonable considering the accessible terrain and if you can’t find a skiff of powder where you’re shredding, there’s always a few turns to be had with a little boot pack hike.

First time snowboarding at Fernie.
Our group of 7 had a great experience.
Beautiful place😍
The only thing didn't like, is that if you want to ride in the terrain park, you had to pay extra $5 or so for it, on top of your lift tickets . I think that was pretty outrageous.
Anastasiya 96 — Google review
Amazing ski-area with a huge choice of slopes and runs. We really loved to ski the 5 different bowls and had the impression, that a day is by far not enough to explore all possibilities.
Frank Waechter — Google review
Misleading conditions report!
Skied there last week (1/31/24 and 2/1/24). Online they said 134 runs were open. In reality the vast majority of trails were closed either due to lack of snow (there was a big rain event and warm cycle) or avalanche risk. Id guess that 50-75% of the runs were not open. Many major bowls were pretty much completely closed due to avy risk.
I wouldn't ding them for the conditions, you get unlucky with the weather, but they should try to accurately reflect the experience guests are likely to find on your website and conditions report. I was skiing on a pass, but if I'd purchased a day lift ticket I would have probably asked for my money back given the misleading conditions report.
Giving 2 stars as this seems like it'd be a good mountain if the snow was significantly better and they do a better job at reflecting current conditions.

A beautiful resort with all kind of slopes from
Green to double black. Artificial snow could be more because we didn’t had much snow yet this season and down below the slopes were sometimes marginal.
Horst Daniels — Google review
Fernie is known for huge snow accumulation. Visited in February 2024, the snow was not great anywhere really that winter however we did get 2 x 20cm dumps while there.
It's a very challenging mountain made up of 5 bowls and I would say if you have skiid other Rocky Mountain Resorts and you normally ski black runs, you will find yourself on blue runs st Fernie..and loving it.
If you enjoy steeps, this place has it, including the Polar Peak bowl which is made up entirely of double and triple blacks.
It's a good 3 hrs from Calgary Airport so a bit more remote.
The apres ski on the resort is not really hoping like some other areas we found but this mountain will have you tucked in bed early anyway lol.

5339 Fernie Ski Hill Rd, Fernie, BC V0B 1M6, Canada
Established in 1959, this 259-hectare wooded park offers camping, hiking, fishing & cycling.
I recently visited a beautiful BC provincial park for a hiking trip. The lush greenery surrounding me was a sight to behold and it instantly made me feel more relaxed as I began my walk. The trail was peaceful, allowing me to take in the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The highlight of my hike was discovering a small river that was simply stunning. The refreshing water flowed gracefully through the rocks and trees, and I couldn't resist taking a moment to sit down and appreciate it all. Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with awe-inspiring views and a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Awesome location and great amenities. Mountain biking is literally on your doorstep. The only reason why I didn't give it a fifth star is that the campground, layout and numbering is really confusing and not in a really clear layout. I would stay again here in a minute.

Such a beautiful spot to camp. We had a spot right by the creek. You could hear it the whole time in your site. At night the stars were out in full force. It was so beautiful. There are hiking trails right from the campsite and the campsite is only minutes from town. It's so peaceful and quiet. A great way to get away from it all.

This park is very close to the main road and easy to find. The road to the park include 1.2 km of gravel road but it is well maintained. Available campsites are listed on the park bulletin board and there are signs on each site clearly indicating which sites are available on FCFS basis. The sites offer no services but are large, fairly level and fairly private. There is a large, new, clean, central shower house with flush toilets plus pit toilets around the park. The showers are free and have hot water. The campground is on a hillside and the roads have old, pitted pavement. The interpretive trail along a creek was well maintained with good signs that are informative and looked like new. This park has hiking and mountain bike trails with maps at the trail heads that include difficulty level.

Excellent provincial park. Good showers here that were very clean when we visited. There are numerous potable water taps throughout the park and a dish sink at the showers and bathrooms. The outhouses have been recently redone, so recent when we visited that they still smelled strongly of fresh ceder wood. The campsites are spread out reasonable far and well wooded. We stayed during the pandemic when only BC residents were supposed to be allowed, though 90% of the campers were from Alberta, but the park was so spacious there wasn't any worry about being too close to any other parties.

Loved this place! It was a 4 hour drive from Calgary but it was well worth the trip. It's a completely restored heritage town and you can even go in the buildings as they have furnished them accurately as well. There's also a furnished hotel in the park but we didn't get the chance to see it as the park was closing for the day. We will go here again soon!

Beautiful little spot to stop with your little ones or anyone super keen on the old wild west. Amazing learning opportunity for people to learn a lot of history about kootneys, and it's gold mining days.
The folks are amazingly sweet, and even when it's not in full blown season(summer), there's still so much to see and enjoy.
There's horses, and a whole lot of other wildlife around to see as well while walking the paths. Their gift shop is quite cute and has many little trinkets and gifts to bring home. I cannot wait to come back and explore a bit more during the summer, and I hope you all continue making this piece of history officially outstanding and just overall enthralling to enjoy and see.
If you really like museums and walking, this is literally a perfect place to be.

It's a great place for all ages. Wear decent shoes to walk in as, if you visit the whole site, it'll take you around 2-3 hrs. There was only a little café at the entrance when we went but it looked like another larger cafe was going to open up later in the month (we went in early June). Loads to see and do. Only 4 stars because we felt that the guide book needs a map of the exhibits, which in turn need to be numbered so you know where and what you're looking at. Great taco's as well! Thanks to the staff for a lovely day.

This place lies on the east shore of the East Kootenay River Between the Mouth the St. Mary River and Wild Horse 🐎 River.
I had a lot of fun and insights about how things were from as far as 100 years ago.
Firstly, the horse ride in the wagon was awesome 😎, I saw in the the museum old clothes made my tailors and some tools ⚒️ 🧰 for technical and vocational use.
Secondly, The bakery which is also know as “City Bakery-Confectionery was built in 1922 it’s Proprietor called Mrs. Underhill I learnt was still in operation, and she bakes one of the best pastries 🥮,I had a bite when I bought a blueberry 🫐 muffin and a cookie 🍪 at the cafeteria.it was really good,if you want to learn how to bake I’m told she trains people who are interested in baking, for more enquiries on that call the number on their website or ask from the building.
Furthermore, The Perry Creek Water wheel 🛞 was amazingly beautiful 🤩 to see, the wheel was very huge, right after that I walked past the gold mine, I saw the equipment used to wash the gold.
One of the things that fascinated me was the fact that they used to sell candies in the drug store 🏬,I couldn’t believe my eyes but there it was sitting right there in the bottles, I walked the hall downstairs where shows used to be held , right ahead of me I saw a little garden 🪴 with a poultry farm, fowls looked really healthy, there were spring onions 🧅 were really big , I immediately thought of making a salad just at the sight it.
Lastly I saw those old Churches ⛪️ one was an Anglican Church, it was really cute , I think the green and cream was a good combination.
I love how I got to know and see for myself how things were in operation from from centuries ago.
The Cranbrook History Centre is a must-visit destination for those interested in Canadian Pacific railway history and local heritage. The museum houses exhibits and archives that showcase the region's rich history, along with a gift shop. The highlight of the museum is the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel, featuring several iconic trains from Canada's past, including the Trans-Canada Limited from 1929.
We had my mother's Celebration of life in the Royal Alexandra Hall. The staff were extremely caring and accommodating of our family and friends. Valerie is the event coordinator who knows EXACTLY what you're looking for even if you didn't know you were looking. Travis was our onsite contact who went above and beyond making sure the room was set up and ready. They had absolutely everything we needed. It's very reasonably priced compared to other halls in Cranbrook that can accommodate 200+ guests. Being able to bring in our own catering was the perfect way to ensure we could shop locally and support other businesses in the area at an affordable price. It's a beautiful venue with a very interesting history. I urge everyone to at least go and take a look at their railway museum. You can truly tell that everyone who works there is not only helping preserve our history but also helping make yours too.

If you or your kids love trains or are interested in the history of trains in Canada this is the place for you! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We did all three train tours and I can't say enough good things about them. The restored train cars were so interesting but the best part is the tour guides! The guide was so informative and could answer all the questions my 7 yr old son who loves trains could think of. I really enjoyed the history as well as learning about the process of restoration. The gift shop could be better but it was still pretty good. They have a huge model train set that my son loved, I think we spent at least 30-40 minutes there. The museum is in a very interesting building with some nice displays. We had a fantastic time and I recommend all the tours!

Amazing! We learned so much in only 45 minutes. There are a few different tours to choose from, ranging from 20min to 1h45m, so make sure you have time for a tour, because it is definitely worth it, and it is the only way to see the trains.

We went to Cranbrook as it was on the pre arrnaged tour of Canada we had booked. We had hoped t visit backwater Canada and this is the place to do this. It was great to find the railway museum thought. It's a historical museum dedicated to preserving the railway heritage of the region. The museum features various exhibits, artifacts, and equipment related to the history of railways in the area, including locomotives, passenger cars, and railway memorabilia.
Cranbrook Railway Museum provides visitors with insights into the significant role that railways played in the development and growth of Cranbrook and the surrounding areas. It offers educational programs and events for visitors of all ages to learn about the rich history of rail transportation in British Columbia.
If you're interested in railway history or visiting museums, the Cranbrook Railway Museum can be a fascinating destination to explore. It offers a glimpse into the past and showcases the technological advancements and cultural impact of railways on the region.

Six adults and four children (under 8) took the short 20 minute train tour. Our guide was very interesting and knowledgeable, he was able to keep the kids interest even though the tour was designed for adults. The trains are in the process of being restored but you can still see the designs and imagine what it was like to ride trains 100 years ago.
The museum itself was small but fascinating. The little ones loved the model train, spending 20 minutes starting and watching the trains circle. I liked the quilt with its escaped elephant story, as well as the medical cabinet with its old equipment.

Great place that has come such a long way in the thirty+ years I've watched it grow. It's a gem that shines the history not only of the railway itself but the whole reason Crambrook exists as a city (and it rich history) as opposed to why the population explosion did not happen at Fort Steele.
Numerous displays both older and newer are here. The major attraction is not only the ball room but the train cars themselves. Guided tours can take you through the train cars for a more intimate experience. Easily spending 3 hours here if you want to delve into the historic information.
The Kimberley's Underground Mining Railway is a popular tourist destination that offers visitors an immersive experience into the history of mining in the area. A train ride takes you through a small underground area where retired miners demonstrate equipment used at the Sullivan mine over nearly a century. The temperature inside is much cooler than outside, making it perfect for hot summer months, but visitors are advised to bring warm clothing if they get cold easily.

Ok, this is kind of hard to review, but I’ll add my 3 cents.
1. Everyone was friendly!
2. Bill, our mine boss was fantastic, super authentic, knowledgeable and very friendly
3. Train ride was fun, operators we super nice
Now, my 3 cents:
Not worth the over $120 we paid for our family.
Sad that you don’t enter any real part of the mine (understandably, but still 😞)
Some may love the history and experience, but once was enough for me.
Overall, it’s hard to not come away appreciating the history, Bill’s stories & humor.
If you go, keep your expectations low, enjoy the time, and you’ll have fun.

We took the train ride and headed out to the underground mines. Bill was an ex-miner who greeted us there and shared his extensive experience / knowledge with our group. We learned so much more about mining, understanding the risks that they faced back in the day. It was definitely an informative and eye opening experience, allowing us to learn more about Kimberly's mining history.

One of the best two hours you can spend in Kimberly. From the moment we were buying the tickets, the reception lady was the most adorable welcoming person ever. She told us a brief history of the mining in Kimberly.
The tour was so exciting. The tour guide was a former miner and such a friendly gentleman. Absolutely recommended.
Tip for the tour: dress properly. You are going to the mine, get out of the train and tour around. The weather in the mine is freezing. Have a jacket with you. Even is hot summer! The floor is wet (like come on, you go to a mine. What do you expect?). Don’t go there with flip flops. Your toes will get muddy and wet.

Went to kimberley to check out the underground mine tour. Was pretty awesome, and was led by a former miner that actually worked there until the mine closed in 2001. He showed how some of the machinery and drills worked as well as explaining how the ore would spontaneously combust and turn into "hot muck". Also explained rescue procedures and how the breathing apparatuses worked. As well as the all important restoration procedures and water purifying operations that are still ongoing today. Totally worth the cost of admission!

We brought our young children to the KUMR to enjoy something that you don't get a chance to experience elsewhere. They loved the train ride, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and enjoyed seeing some wildlife along the way. They were a little scared at first of the tunnel as it is very dark in spots, but this is part of the experience. The interpretive part of the train ride was lost on them, but it is very educational and gives a glimpse not only into the local area and this particular mine, but also the life the miners lived. We'll definitely return once our children are a bit older.

This is a train ride and an interpretation center that takes you in a small underground area to show how mining was carried out over the nearly 100 years at the Sullivan mine in Kimberley BC. Actual miners (retired) not only show, but demonstrate some of the equipment used. Inside is much cooler than outside (which is great in the hot summer months) but if you get chilled easily, bring a jacket or sweater. After the mine, the train takes you to the powerhouse where you can see the air compressors, generators and the actual model used in the planning office. Well worth the trip, the tour takes almost 2 hours to complete so plan accordingly.

Kimberley Alpine Resort is a popular recreational destination situated near the charming town of Kimberley. It boasts of fantastic downhill and cross-country skiing activities, along with equipment rentals and lessons for all ages. The resort features four different areas on the hill, each with its unique terrain and level of difficulty that cater to both beginners and advanced skiers. Notably, North America's largest gladed terrain and longest lit run are found in this mountainous location.
We moved to Kimberley specifically for the fact that it had its very own ski hill! Our children have been shredding this hill since they were only 1 year old. Our motto is "if they can stand, they can ski!". The staff at this resort are absolutely top notch. They recognize our family and are always quick to give my little girls a high five and some encouragement. The vibes are always so high even during difficult circumstances. Thanks so much for everything you do!

Snow is wonderful. Staff is fantastic. I’m giving RCR a 3 after they have lost their quad chair to a fire and can’t get organized.
They are running a cat service poorly over everbrite. ( come on guys) its a joke trying to book. -
Secondly they aren’t supply food or heated shelter on the back of the mountain or limited toilets. Get mobilized . It’s not rocket science ( we have that figured out)
Get those heaters working up top . Drag a few portable toilets so their are facilities . Children and ladies aren’t really into to using the woods and a bbq works wonders for cooking food.
I know it sucks to have a fire though step up and support your customers they support you.

Just returned to Kimberly after a ski trip in Fernie and the difference between the two locations is great. OK on the third day in Fernie we had a dump of snow and it was good powder, and amazing. Hard to beat. Nevertheless, Fernie was much better prepared on the runs. And the variety of lower runs in Blue and Green allows for a fun day. While Kimberly has the long North Star quad chair lift, and the blues and a few greens are long and converge on the bridge to the start of the lift. So a real bottleneck. And after the bridge to run down to the lift is not green.. Once up the North Star you can move over to the backside, but they are not always well groomed runs. In fact I was on Vimy Ridge and the run surveyor was having a real argument on the phone with the director about opening runs. It would also be nice if somebody took a brush cutter to the pines growing on the runs.
The RCR staff at the locations seem to come from different planets, the Fernie staff are great friendly and helpful. And the ski patrol is on the ball. You can't say that of Kimberly at all. Except being for the cafe staff they are friendly..

Wonderful family skiing resorts with fresh snow. Excellent on site accommodation for ski in/out, night skiing on T-Bar and complimentary magic carpet for everyone

One of the best skiing experiences of my life. Hill was so underwhelming online, however in real life the hill lived up far beyond my expectations

2 stars given are for mother nature and the fantastic snow and terrain provided. 1 star for the groomers, ski patrol and liftys.
No stars for RCR and they're amazing ability to foster and nurture a small town ski culture. Enjoy the basement you cheep brown baggers.

Nice family friendly ski hill with lots of beginner areas and runs, makes for easier learning! There are three chairs that serve four different faces of the mountain. The base is developed with accommodations and housing plus the big lodge, restaurant and service center for the resort. The main face's summit has a lodge that I only saw from the outside, it's hard to access from the main chair as it's on its own peek and needs traversing to access. From what I was able to see, not being able to do every run in just one day, I think it's a hill worth checking out at least once!

Hills were empty. Good skiing.in the morning. became slushy and icy by 2 pm. clear and sunny skies, no wind.
M Steve Gabinet — Google review
Kimberely exceeded expectations for me. The snow was great. There are almost no lines and the hill has more to offer in terms of both beginner friendly runs and more advanced stuff.
Lots of fresh powder in the trees when we visited. The platza is close by which has a couple of good restaurants pub and diner. Most other ski hills don’t offer nearly as much near the hill as Kimberly does.
I went out for a trip with my business partner but I will be back with my family in the future. It would be a great resort to bring them to.
Only cons. Passes aren’t cheap but they’re still cheaper than other major ski hills.
If you’re on a snowboard you can find yourself taking your binding off and pushing. Not a huge deal but a bit of work at times. A lot more friendly to skiers but we snowboarded and made out fine.
Daniel Thompson (Salt Water Digital) — Google review
Great ski hill for beginner to intermediate skiers.
If you’re looking for something a bit more interesting try going to the far north side and jumping in beyond the patrol lines. We found some fun fresh snow in there !

Staff is very nice and friendly but lunch prices for the quality are ridiculous and the one chair lift from the bottom that breaks down all the time isn't acceptable anymore for the price. The kids area is ok for free but to have to pay for the T-bar for my 6yr old to use for 30 mins isn't much of an incentive to go. Fernie has one for free to get kids into the sport.

I've skied here my whole life, I love this family friendly hill. Its a hidden gem with great snow, friendly staff and short lines.
This was my 1st time taking my 6yr old daughter here.
Sophie (or Sophia maybe?) was working the top of the magic carpet ride and was such a ray of sunshine! Wearing an elf hat, smiling, singing and chatting with everyone. She even encouraged my daughter when attempting the pilons. When she went on lunch break my daughter even asked when she'd be back.
She really made the day special for us, and deserves recognition.
Laid-back riverfront hotel offering a casino & a spa, as well as an indoor pool & a restaurant/bar.
Great place to stay and play. Hotel was nice, clean, and staff was friendly. Comfortable beds. They offer room service and they even had bathrobes in the room.
The casino has 3 different rooms. 2 non-smoking and one for smokers and has a bar in the smoking area. The restaurant had great food. Also it was all very reasonable in price. Nice indoor swimming area too. I would revisit.

It gets hard to move around in there with people from all over makes it hard to relax. But.........! It means that the environment is very nice and everyone enjoys going there. I used to get coupons for different things which was nice. Haven't been able to visit as much as I like. You may think someone is paying me to say it but it's all around great for the things that hotels are to require. I hope they might read this and know that they are doing a great job.

So far so good. Checked in nice and easy. Plenty of parking. Room was on the second floor, thankfully there was an elevator. Room was clean and everything worked as intended. Only exception would be the power outlets are worn out and there are not enough of them near the bed.
Location is good, walkway to the downtown area is very convenient. I did take 1 star off, nothing the property itself can do, but there is a Railroad crossing just across the main road and BNSF honks about every hour. The community could file for a Quiet Zone from the Railroad if enough people complained.

Ya, I really like this place!
I'll give it a 5 if it goes the same on my return visit.
Dog friendly! My kid really likes the trains that pass at the back end of the parking lot.
The food was very generous! Tasted fresh.
Continental breakfast of sorts was excellent!
Clean room, hot shower with volume.
Friendly staff.
Lovely little old downtown was so fun to walk around and get beers and tasty treats from all the restaurants and the brewery.
Cool local history along the way.
You can walk away from your stroller on the sidewalk while eating and you don't have to worry about some jack-mule rear face pony boy STEALING it. 😉 Cool place. Cool town.

What a beautiful place to escape to. They have thought of it all. As a Hilton member with diamond status and a professional traveler, these guys have more to offer than most other hotels. To me it's the small things that matter in a nice hotel stay. I was blown away with the real glasses and coffee mugs. Other hotels have styrofoam and plastic cups, I hate those; there is no class with cheap cups. The view was therapeutic. They offered robes to lounge in, and use to and from the spa and pool. The only other hotel that offers robes, that I've been to, is the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Kootenai River Inn also offers room service and I haven't seen that since before covid. Thank you guys for making my wedding anniversary stay special and offering all those special small touches.

Absolute comfort and hospitality of the Kootenai people makes this stay one of the best in the PNW. We stayed in the Lodge and found our rooms to be impeccably clean. The restaurant located near the river Bank was our choice every night and morning. We found everything on the menu so delicious! My favorite was the Sweet Thai Chili Salmon. I am still dreaming of it. 😛😍
They have a mix of old and new games and I was not bored. Will always return to stay here when I am on summer vacation. Thank you for everything. 🥰

If you're confused by my rating - 5 stars on rooms, service, and location - the reason is simple. One of the main reasons I chose this facility rather than others in the area was the hot tub. The problem: the hot tub was not only unusable but, in my opinion, dangerous.
The first evening, my wife and I suited up to use the hot tub after a day of donating money to the machines and alas our soak lasted fewer than 30 seconds. The hot tub, which my wife noted was cloudy to the point you couldn't see the bottom , was *badly* over-chlorinated. We both got in, and in less than 30 seconds, our eyes, nose, throat and lungs were burning to the point of severe discomfort. Our eyes continued to burn and we both coughed for a full 2-3 hours after getting out. The next morning we went in the pool area and the hot tub appeared clear and didn't have the intense chlorine smell - but alas that evening it was right back to hyper white and badly over chlorinated. The chlorine level was so bad that my swim trunks very literally smell like a chlorine puck.
In short - the rooms were quite clean (albeit a bit oddly setup with the TV off to one side and the coffee maker having to be used on the bathroom vanity); the staff were all very friendly; and the location easily accessible. But when one of the major reasons for selecting a facility (in our case, the hot tub) is unusable and frankly dangerous - that warrants a hefty deduction in rating.

Had a hard time deciding whether to give it a two or three! The room was really nice! Very spacious nice bed beautiful view Over the River and the mountains behind it! The restaurant was pretty nice with good food and good service! The casino was pretty lame and the service in the casino was not only nonexistent but downright rude! Might go there and rent a room again but won't spend any other money there at the casino I'll spend my money elsewhere in Bonners Ferry!

It was a nice weekend getaway! The staff were very friendly and provided good service. The hotel was clean and the food was good. The restaurant specials were really reasonable priced with quality food! Even our free breakfast was above and beyond what we thought we would get.
The only disappointment we had was dinner Saturday evening. It appeared they were short staffed with an event happening next to the restaurant as well. It took a long time to get dinner and the server totally forgot to get my order as I only wanted dessert and needed a menu. When I finally ordered , it took 10 minutes for the server to return just to tell me they were out of what I wanted. By this time my guy was finished with his dinner. I was not happy and very disappointed, as i sat there for 30 minutes. Other than that experience, we really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Husband received free room coupon in mail and we decided to go up for a night. Made several appointments at their spa. Husband had to go to work and called to see if I could check in early. Made 3 hour drive to get up for my first spa appointment. Went to check in and the woman at the hotel desk I am assuming was the manager was one of the worst rudest people I have ever seen. Insisted that my husband had to check in although she saw the notes that he would not be arriving until late that night. She insisted that she would charge the room rate of $179 (they had been advertising all over television special room rates much much lower) until he got there and they would reverse the charge (which could take up to 10 days!!). The hotel is not worth that kind of rate. I was so stressed out that I refused to be treated like that. I told them I had no choice but to cancel. She insisted that they would charge the credit card and then reversed it. It didn't matter that he called to make prior arrangements although the notes were in the computer that I would be checking in early due to spa appointments. So sad that there is absolutely NO hospitality or customer service. I was so upset that I kept my first spa appointment but cancelled all my other ones for the following day and went and found another hotel to stay at for the night. Would I stay there again even if they offered my a free hotel? No, there are just as nice if not nicer places in the area for just as much or cheaper rate and has to have much better customer services......

Stopped by for a late lunch. I was seated WITHIN 2 Minutes with a river view.
My waiter first set me up with some sort of Slow Irish Death on Tap-Delicious!
I ordered Garlic Parmesan Fries with 2 types of Dip & Selkirk Chicken Fettuccine.
Between the Irish Death & fries, I had to pack up 1/2 of the Fettuccine.
Topped it off with a chocolate sundae.
I recommend this place for solo dining or a large company meal and/or Retreat.

This is a great hotel stay and they have a nice restaurant overlooking the water. Friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms… having grown up going to Vegas, this isn’t really much of a casino. My stay at the best Western at the casino sucked we were told we would get a room with a river view with balcony when we got there it was no such thing it was a room facing a building that is being worked on and we were told we would get a champagne bottle with party favors that again was not the case we got a hat and to tell you I was looking forward to this getaway for my 29th anniversary with my man and things were not what was said to us was a disappointment then my husband try talking to Adam flack who was the general manager at least that is how he introduced himself and said that they couldn't refund anything back to us after we explained everything to him and the manager that was at the desk when my husband returned the keys and what really got me that morning there was a employee who was drunk and just stepped in front of my husband as he was in line to cash out and they are covering that up saying it was not a worker but his badge was in his pocket and was wearing a black and red vest and the cashier knew him and was just letting it happen which I feel was wrong in all aspects the customer should have better service than that the only thing I got from this is the customer service sucked from the casino to hotel service but the restaurant was amazing with the food.

This is as gorgeous area and we had a river view room. The rest of this hotel and casino are extremely dated. I felt like I needed to deep clean myself and my stuff after leaving. Rooms are run down and the beds were horrible. I also don't like that you don't need a key to enter the hotel from outside or from the casino. Didn't feel safe. There are some updated casino games but not much luck for me. The pool and spa felt gross and I would not stay here again. Cute little town to visit though and maybe the best accomodations for the area.

So sad that we can’t get Kokanee here in Montana anymore other than the stuff brewed in St. Louis by Bud. It’s not the same as the beer that was brewed by Columbia Brewery in Creston and not nearly as good. Good informative tour. I showed up late in the day yet they still offered to stay and give me a tour. I was able to see most of the beer can operation although the bottling operation was already shut down for the day, that was my fault. They gave me a complimentary beer while I waited for a few more people to show up then also gave me the free beer at the end of the tour.

My parents had a cottage on Pend Oreille lake. It was a beautiful setting and there were no bugs. Not one mosquitoes. The water has its source from icebergs, so it is very cold. This cold, clear water allows you to view fish swimming at depths of about 15 - 20 ft.

Lake Pend Oreille is a very big and amazing lake with immense beauty and very much to do all the way from Bayview to Sandpoint and along the north and eastern shore all the way to Clark Fork. Fishing, camping, hiking, boat tours, beaches and every type of water front activity all in one. It is a very deep lake at 1150 feet and still supports a Navy Submarine base that dates back to WWII. A Northern Idaho Must-See!!
I had the pleasure of exploring this lake during a visit to the area. I had been to Northern Idaho many times and always wanted to see the lake. I have been close many times but always pressed for time. This time around I devoted a whole day to explore the lake. I started off in Bayview and checked out as much of the lake as the trails would allow. It was raining off and on that morning so many of the trails near Bayview were muddy and slippery. I didn't want to waste time so I headed up to Sandpoint and stopped at many of the lookouts off the highway around the lake.
There are many vantage points for viewing and boat launches as there are several homes, cottages, Inns and campgrounds around the lake. If you are a hiker there are several well-maintained trails around the lake and local outfitters and tour guides can take you many places around the lake. This scenery and views around this lake are priceless. You could spend a few hours or a few days taking in its splendour. This is a must-see destination in Northern Idaho and I can't wait to get back.

The campgrounds, not so great .
NO camp host around. They gave me the worst lot in Snowberrey. I have a Tioga! She told me, lotsa luck. U have to back unto a tiny drive with a big rock border! 35 bucks for a senior with no pass. No hook up to elec..the whole place is bulldozed so they can make a ton more money renting out those too close sites to peepl who like camping in a city atmosphere.

Lake Pend Oreille is one of Northern Idaho's deepest lakes at 1158'.
The lake is over 43 miles long and was once used as a submarine testing site many years ago during the war.
The lake was formed thousands of years ago by the glaciers that used to cover this area.
The area surrounding this beauty is full of things to do for the outdoor enthusiasts.
Hiking, backpacking, fishing, skiing (summer and winter) camping, sight seeing, hunting, swimming, photography, you name it and you will find it here.
As always, leave it better than you found it and enjoy 😉.

A magical day on Lake Pend Oreille!
Review of Great Northern Nautical
Pending review
Looking for a magical afternoon or evening on one of America's premier lakes? Take a trip on glorious Lake Pend Oreille with Great Northern Nautical. Their stunning 50 foot vessel is only the beginning of an experience that will last in your memories.
As a local, we wanted to showcase our hometown and lake for our family, and our hosts Molly and Cameron did not disappoint. We are all still talking about it days later!
Cruising the south end of the lake we enjoyed spectacular views of waterfalls, rugged cliffs, long-abandoned gold and silver mines, and breathtaking mountains. And if wildlife is your thing, you might be lucky enough to see some of N. Idaho's resident population of golden eagles, bald eagles, osprey, mountain goats, bears, and more, although naturally, it's up to the animals on that front!
It was especially nice for our elderly passengers as they could choose to enjoy the scenery from either inside the luxurious third-level salon or outside from the roomy deck areas.
And let's just talk about the food. It wouldn't be stretching it to say we ooohed, ahhhed, and ate the entire time we were on board! It wasn't long after leaving the dock that the smell of fresh-baked bread wafted from the vessel's kitchen. That toasty bread (which was liberally topped with parmesan and garlic butter) was delivered by Molly just a short time later with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping - a huge hit for my family of foodies. But that was only the beginning of a three-hour feast of delicious charcuterie including meats, cheeses, huge shrimp, fresh fruit, and crackers, all topped off with some celebratory lemon cake for my mom's 91st birthday and my retirement.
Cameron's expertise at the helm was only outdone by his knowledge of the lake and its features. He showed us locals there were still plenty of things to learn here despite the many hours we've spent on this water. First mate Molly charmed everyone, adding lots of local lore to our day. She also took the time to delve into our family histories in this area to share with her future guests.
To put it mildly (and I'm not one bit embarrassed about my enthusiasm here) we were absolutely WOWED by our tour, their hospitality, and their attention to detail. Great Northern Nautical is a first-class operation running cruises on the lake throughout the seasons. We will absolutely be back for a wintertime sail and we'll highly recommend their superior company to anyone and everyone we know.
Truly, they created a day we'll never forget. Bravo!

Great public park on the banks of Lake Pend Oreille. Public swimming, pets on a leash allowed, play park, boat launches, a few boat hook ups with power and electric, sand volley ball courts, pickle and tennis courts, snack shack, restrooms, and great parking all available. The covered picnic area features some really cool tiki inspired architecture.

Great location, given that the city itself is separated from the lake by a river, freeway and railroad (who had that brilliant idea?).
Come for a day on the beach, bring your cooler, play some volleyball, watch the people.
The adjacent RV park is bleak but you can walk over.
Celebrate your family reunion at the pavilion.
Amazing views, relaxing it atmosphere, well maintained facility.

Park closes at 11pm.

It's an amazing place to be. It has a beautiful view of the Cabinet and Monarch Mountain Ranges. A nice hotel, bathrooms, basketball, volleyball, tennis, a playground, docks, and a marina. We stayed at the RV park right across the street owned by the city.
Sleeping there is horrible😱 feels like every ten minutes a train is coming by,
Too close to the highway and train, very loud, the whole RV was shaking everytime a train came by.
The five stars are only for the beach and surrounding park. For the RV place it would be only 2 stars since it's totally overpriced as well🤷

Free parking. Gorgeous scenery. Decent bathrooms. Pretty nice beach. Paved path. Benches. Mini Statue of Liberty. But difficult to move in the water due to the prolific waves from passing boats (Can be fun, though). Tiny dead fish skeletons floating on the surface. Lots of bird feces so bring beach shoes. No dogs allowed.

I had the opportunity to drive from Fernie, Canada to Standpoint, and it was a memorable journey. One of the highlights along the way was Hugh Lake, which boasts a picturesque beach and a sprawling playground area. The lake also offers boating options, which I highly recommend trying. However, to ensure a smooth experience, it's best to book your boating adventure in advance as availability can be limited.
Aside from the natural beauty of Hugh Lake, the adjacent area has even more to offer. There is a delightful downtown area nearby, filled with quaint shops and charming attractions. Exploring this area is a must, and it provides a pleasant change of pace from the outdoor activities.
Overall, Fernie to Standpoint was a fantastic drive, with Hugh Lake and its stunning beach and playground, the vibrant downtown area brimming with great restaurants, and the clean and inviting walking areas. It's a destination that offers a little bit of everything and a fantastic experience for visitors.

Schweitzer is a mountain resort that offers skiing, tubing, dining, spa services, and kid-friendly activities. Visitors have praised the beautiful terrain and well-maintained slopes but have raised concerns about limited parking capacity. Despite this issue, guests appreciate the lack of long lines for lifts and reasonable prices for food and drinks. The staff is described as generally happy, with manageable lift lines even on crowded days. The resort is also noted for its family-friendly environment and snowboarder-approved learner hill.
Not your average “local mountain”. Came for a weekend in February, and there were almost no lines for most of the day. The drive can be a bit treacherous in the snow going up the mountain, so I suggest you have four wheel drive in the winter. We really enjoyed the back side of the mountain, and you didn’t have to go too far off the beaten path to find fresh tracks a day or two after powder. Additionally, the price of food and drinks on the hill was very reasonable.

What a beautiful mountain!
Staff was mostly happy, perhaps not the most attentive bunch, but they clearly enjoy the job.
Lots of runs to choose from! Even on a fairly crowded day, lines were very manageable.
They have a parking lot lift that doubles as an epic learner hill. 100% snowboarder approved! Snowboarders have a notoriously difficult time learning on most bunny hills, they're just too flat. Not here!
Very family friendly!
Didn't check out the top restaurant, but the base has a cafeteria style set up with lots of seating and a bar upstairs.
Restrooms were a bit of a challenge. I found two at the base, one required stairs and the other was in the rental area, so busy and bustling in the opening and closing times.
All and all, it was a wonderful day and I have no legitimate complaints!

You can’t take them to your room so they are stored willy nilly in the baggage room. The baggage room is left open with no monitoring and people taking numerous skis out with no accountability. Also the rooms seem to have limited hot water for showers. Nothing like cold water in the middle of a warm shower. There is no written list of amenities or where they are located. When using the hot tub you have to go through a construction are with tools and stuff to trip over. The food choices are limited and the bus into town does not run at night. We have a very nice room but so many other thing fall short. This may be my last time here. To many other better choices.

We went for the ultimate summer experience. Although it wasn’t terrible I didn’t find it was worth the money. It was incredibly slow and most of the staff were just sitting around.
We were especially excited about the zip lining. It was fun but since we had to carry the equipment back up we only did it twice.
I might change my review if I come back to ski in the winter 🤷♀️

This review is for Easter Brunch in the Caribou room.
The wedding pictures of the Caribou room online made everything look fabulous so we decided to book brunch for 5 of us. We sure were disappointed. The big picture windows had a lovely view, but that was about it. For $45 there wasn’t even staff offering more coffee for the table. The buffet was in the entry (we had to look for it). We were hoping for something more special.
While I hope the new owners bring in the service and experience that we we are used to receiving at their other ski hills, I believe the area is in for a rude awakening for an influx of people to the area as they pump more money into the hill.
And we had to pay $25 per car to park. I don’t mind paying for an ‘event’ but all in all - the whole experience wasn’t worth it.

Our first time at Schweitzer today. We had a great time. There is plenty of challenging terrain for all levels. Despite some recent warm weather the snow was in great condition. By most standards even a crowded day at Schweitzer is not crowded. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for a lift ride.

Beautiful resort with good energy. The road winds around quite a bit on the way up there but it’s worth the trip! We saw a cool yurt and cute cabins in the woods too. Thank you Abby Lodmer & Matt Lome for the recommendation! I will definitely be telling my brother about this majestic place because he loves to ski.

The snow and terrain was beautiful, runs were nice and long, a great variety of runs for seasons skiers to absolute beginners, BUT skier and snowboarders are supposed to be a tribe and act like it. The ticket gal in one of the first building that you come to in the village must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. She seemed to be bothered by DOING HER JOB and helping us buy tickets. There was nothing abnormal about the request and no reason for her to be grumpy, but she acted so bothered. It made for a sad start to an otherwise enjoyable day. The lift operators seemed nice. One was singing karaoke through his speakers quite loudly (not a problem) and it seemed like they were generally having a good time. The vibes ON THE MOUNTAIN were fun too, but ppl in the village just didn’t seem to treat ppl as though they were all part of the skiing and snowboarding tribe. Parking was an absolute pain, but we did go on a discounted day, so maybe that played into the parking situation.

Stayed at the new Humbird. it was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were very attentive. I was on crutches, they were accommodating. The restaurant in the hotel was very good. It was nice to walk around the village at the base of the mountain. As everyone already knows, the views are amazing.
This place won’t be a secret for long.

We had an amazing 3 day ski trip at Schweitzer. Beautiful terrain, grooming team keeps the mountain pristine. Our only criticism is the parking situation... they have limited parking in favor of more housing. The parking lots are at capacity on weekdays 30 minutes before the lifts start turning. I think they need to get more on hill parking otherwise their growth is going to be limited. If we hadn't stayed in a ski in ski out condo, the parking situation would have prevented us from coming back again. It would be a deal breaker for me if we were driving to the mountain for a day trip.

Best kept secret. Fun skiing and more than plenty of ski runs for most. This is a large ski playground full of all levels of fun. One I haven't ridden was the T-bar up to fantastic open runs and if you like the trees, there is plenty to find for fresh tracks. Spectacular views too.

We have been coming to Schweitzer for a week in March every year for over a decade. We have always loved the mountain for being an amazing family friendly resort and their top notch ski school. My kids have LOVED ski school in the past. We didn't go for several years due to Covid, we were so excited to go again this year after several years. However, I just found to that they no longer have a traditional ski school anymore. They appear to at first glance on their website until you read that it is only for their beginner green hill. Their other ski school is for weekends for the local kids. If your child is beyond a green skier and you don't live nearby, your only option is private lessons. So apparently only rich kids get to learn to ski beyond the green beginner level. What kind of ski resort doesn't have a regular ski school! It is too late to change our plans this year, but it looks like we won't be coming back. Such a shame. It makes me so sad to see this happening to a resort that my kids have grown up skiing at and had so many amazing memories at their wonderful ski school in the past.

The guy who told me it's basically "Little Whistler" was right! Just look at the trail maps and compare them to surrounding ski areas. Great selection of intermediate/advanced slopes, many cornices (sick), and a couple high speed lifts. 3 terrain park options was cool too, there was the main one with rails and x games jumps, a progression park with boxes/small jumps, and then almost a large open area with naturalish jumps that was really fun on powder days. At the base there's a couple shops/restaurants which was cool to have the option. Overall after being to several ski areas in the eastern WA area, this place is worth the short drive up past Sandpoint.

The staff was amazing they went above and beyond to help accommodate our group of 15 people. I highly recommend if you are looking for a fun outdoor experience please check out Schweitzer. Spent a few hours out on ORV trails on Schweitzer. What a beautiful day. We really had a blast and to the parking lot boys, thank you for your sacrifice on a job that both highly dangerous and extremely demanding. Your job keeps everyone in line but most of all, if not for your dedication to safety and responsibility, we hold it all too you. You guys really are awesome. Thank you.

Lodging only review: I love skiing the mountain, BUT Our lodging experience for second year in a row was terrible! January 2024 we had paid in advance $500 per night supposedly a 25% off deal for a hotel room. Our Selkirk hotel room could not get internet, the television did not work. We asked about getting transferred to a room with a full kitchen that cost less but they wouldn’t. There was no ice machine on our floor. The bedding was for the wrong size bed. The room above us was so loud we were kept awake for 2 hours with the floor squeaking and toddlers stomping. The front desk was less than concerned. We would have had to get up, call “security” and they might have investigated.Tonight we tried all 3 hot tubs and they were not working. Dirty, lukewarm at best and only one had jets. Brrr. Five star prices and 2 star results. Bummer

Since it was summertime, we talked about visiting Schweitzer Mountain Ski Lift, just to ride to the top. The road to the top is about the same as any other mountain switchback road; it’s paved, and clear in the summer. The problem was at the top. Parking there is very limited and at a distance, meaning long uphill walking at an altitude. There is a shuttle, but it doesn't run in the summer. In the end, we decided not to go because of the problem with parking.

I had the greatest experience at this resort. We enjoyed skiing and lots more. The room we got at Humbird we're excellent 👍 I would recommend this place and I would go again. The most best was that we got to in a parking garage. That was the highlight for me

I live here and this place is great. Snow conditions haven't been great this season, but thats not something anyone can control. It's an awesome place to ski, but don't tell your friends.
Lakefront state park boasts hiking/skiing trails, water sports, disc golf, picnic areas & campsites.
Gorgeous, Breathtaking, Ever lasting Memories of Nature, Farragut Park is absolutely an amazing experience. The trails are awesome, durung the summer time you can swim in a few spots in the lake. The sights are something to stare at for hours. It's truly an awesome park.
I do wish some trails where a bit more maintenance and some under brush cleared a bit better possibly bring a 4 wheeler with a chipper attached, 4 man crew with chainsaws, could use the fallen logs for mulching. Just my opinion.

My wife and I love this place. It is become our regular go to place for outdoor activities camping bike riding and hiking. There’s miles and miles and miles of trails and let’s not forget frisbee golf. Campsites are nice and spread apart people are friendly. Great RC flying field.
Unfortunately Idaho state parks doubled their costs for out of state residence which makes a Farragut State Park and all other Idaho parks unaffordable. Yearly vehicle pass is now $80 and a one night stay is $74.
We will continue to go on daily basis but probably not to camp anymore. If you’re an Idaho resident I highly recommend this place. And if you want to get out for a day of hiking and biking there isn’t a better place around.

Farragut State Park is a great place to go for camping or hiking. Lots of trails with views of the lake. The day use area had large covered picnic areas with horse shoe pits and volley ball nets nearby. Lots of room for many people to gather together. There were swings for younger kids to play on too. Camping cabins were also real close to the day use area. The cabins appeared to be fairly new and well maintained. A note on the cabin said that the cabins has been cleaned after each use. Each cabin had its own fire pit and picnic table. The cabins also had electric lights and an air conditioner. No bathroom inside the cabin, but a bathroom facility was a short walk from the cabins. The only issue would be if someone had to get up during the night it would be a little walk in the dark. There were close trails near the day use area that were well maintained. Very beautiful spot.

Clean and organized. Lots to do both on and off the water. I loved that RV parking options were better than many camping areas with extra room to breathe and have a little privacy.
Trails were fun. Bayview was also fun and full of history.

We spent the day at Beaver Bay within Farragut State Park and it was perfectly lovely! It was 102° in town, but not for us! Under the shaded trees and next to the water, it felt like a perfect 75°. Unbelievable beauty and views!

What can I say, I love to visit the state parks. I almost always stop in the visitor center to see what's new and chat with the clerks. In the spring I look forward to hearing and watching the birds, ground squirrels and other critters. Walking the various trails, the people have been generally friendly. Of course, gotta stop and check out the wild flowers.

I came to play the 5 disc golf courses and was not disappointed. There are a huge number of camping spaces including lots of full hookup RV sites, but we opted to stay in a camping camp that had heat and AC. Park has tons of lake frontage, trails, etc.
All in all an outstanding park with lots of space and lots of amenities.

Beautiful property and quiet, shaded, cared for campground. Stayed in Whitetail and were able to come without a reservation. Campground bathrooms were super clean. Easy access to potable water. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bees at our site. Minimal other bugs, though.
Marina Schmitt — Google review
I spent one night in a camping cabin in the winter. I thought paying $69 plus a reservation fee was quite expensive considering there are no winter services in the campground, you have to hike your stuff in to the cabin, and you have to clean it yourself. That being said the cabin was nice and it was a great experience.
When I checked in the ranger was very unhelpful. I had gone to ski but there was no snow so I asked about hiking in the park. She told me any hiking is good, and didn't point me to any specific trails. She really didn't want to interact with me. I couldn't find any maps in the park, and didn't have internet so I drove around aimlessly for a while then decided to leave. Being a ranger seems like such a cool job, don't know why this ranger didn't want to help me enjoy the park.
Ellie Knight — Google review
While the park itself is lovely, they have some of the most rude and disrespectful people working for them. The young lady at check in was particularly disrespectful and it seems typical of the people I have met there. The last time I went to the park was about 15 years ago and they were equally terrible then. I figured maybe they had changed but I was wrong.
Jesse Moore — Google review
We arrived at this park a little after 10 pm we had booked on line, didn’t see anything telling me to check in at the front office the park is extremely large.
When we were checking out the ranger ask who we were and if we had checked in, I stated I did, I did think I had to since I book & paid on line.
He said even though we were checking out, we had to check in or we would get a ticket.
I was disappointed he made us (used his position of authority) to go check in even though he took all our information saw that we were leaving.
We find the front office which isn’t located in any of the camps site it’s its own section.
With the shortage of workers in this country this park has plenty of employees to enforce rules that make no significant, when he already had written our information down visually saw and verbally spoke with us.
I check in only to be told to have a great day see you soon, that took an extra 1/2 hour because of parking and waiting in line to report I was checking in and out at the same time.
The park itself is big and nice, the toilets are at moments they do stink, they offer full hook-ups as well as tent sites. We chose not to use the toilets instead use our portable one the bathrooms were hit & miss.
I guess when you allocate more money hiring people to signing in people then checking bathrooms you end up with unclean bathrooms.
The lake is kind of hard to find I would say drive to it or ride your bike, lots of trails, the lake is absolutely beautiful.
The park is very clean and quite and well maintained.

The park itself is nice. Campspots are not close to the lake but are good in size and provide some privacy. Great, groomed hiking trails. As other reviewers stated, staff is not welcoming. The individual checking us was unfriendly; almost flippant. Two of us drove to the S. Entrance with our scooters. The entry fee is per vehicle, so we decided to park one. The park would not allow us to park at the entrance. As we drove back to Bayview, a parking enforcement truck came out of nowhere. The park boundaries are deceiving because the entry gates are inside the park. Luckily for us, we had seen the signs and parked in town where parking was hassle free.

Wow, so beautiful ❤️. The water of Lake Pend Oreille - pronounced "pond da ray", was so refreshing and crystal clear. We went swimming at Idlewild Bay. There is a "store", Cast, Blast, & Relax"- Food & snacks and they rent: bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards, & fishing gear! on the path down to the lake, before you get to the water. There are flush toilets and nice showers there, too. Plenty of parking. The park itself has a lot to offer: Gift shop, Disc Golf, Tree to Tree Adventure Park, Camping, Boat Launch for watercraft, horse trails, llama trails, hiking trails, mtn bicycle trails, Shooting range, museum at the Brig Jr. Ranger Station, Equestrian Campground, Model Aircraft Field(Insurance required), fishing, picnic sites, group camping, dump station. Winter Recreation :snow shoeing, Cross Country Skiing, fat tire biking. When you first check in to the campground office, there is a very informative visitor center, very interesting. Worth your time to check it out.
Largest Northwest theme park offers 65+ rides, a water park, casual dining & an on-site RV park.
Silverwood is the greatest. I have been going since I was a kid and it still is great. The rides aren’t too intense but they give just enough adrenaline that you get the rollercoaster high. Boulder beach has really expanded in recent years and is so fun.
I love the classic old time feeling that silverwood has. It has kept its charm and I hope that never changes. The new stunt pilot ride is a lot of fun but I am partial to the wooden roller coasters.
I can promise you will have fun at this park. It is more than enjoyable. The staff told me the last time I was there that the best time to go is a couple days after the Fourth of July. It is always their slowest days of the year because everyone has to get back to work.
If you are considering it, I recommend going for it. You won’t regret it!

Family run theme park that has something for everyone.
Silverwood is a fantastic theme park that is truly run with passion and quality experiences for guests. For a relatively small, less known theme park I was really impressed and had a blast. The coasters are good fun (Aftershock is epic); actors and train ride is a good time for all; magic show (Nick and Mad Mike especially) is a great way to break up the adrenaline fuelled fun; and the park’s theme and environment is genuinely beautiful and well maintained.
Great place for a family, thrill seeking adults like myself and anyone who wants to escape for a fun adventure in Idaho.
Yeehaw Silverwood!

WHAT a great park! Homey and small, but with some really good rides, great atmosphere, and friendly people, both at work and as visitors. Parking is across the highway and you walk through a tunnel to the park. Then it's left to the theme park and right to the train and the water park.
I didn't know what was good here, and was able to ride Aftershock twice right away. But Tremors is my favorite ride here, followed closely by the single-rail Stunt Pilot coaster, which loads super fast! Every park should have one of these!
I was done with all the rides by 3 and went to the water park for a while. But I didn't realize until later that the train only runs once an hour and the popular show is only on some of those trips, so I missed the show, which I regret. It's kind of out of the way of everything else, so you really have to make an effort to get to that part of the park. I did get a nice trip nearer sunset, however. The magic show is really good! The variety show in the saloon is pretty campy and not much space to watch it in.
I appreciate that there are quieter areas of the park. Just behind the kid's rides is a pretty park to rest in, and near the train is a theater that plays 3 stooges all day if you need a dark and quiet place to sit down.

Thank you for making this 7th birthday for my daughter a blast!

I enjoyed my time at the Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho! The place is clean and beautiful.
I like it better than Disney Land and Universal Studios. We went three days in a row, and enjoyed every second of it. The food that you purchase inside of the Park was really good, and the kids loved it as well. It is definitely a good choice for your family to create memories and relax. It’s was not hectic or too busy. I am definitely taking my grandson there once he’s of age.

Silverwood Theme park is an epic adventure that everyone from all ages needs to experience. From the rides and roller coasters, to the water park and slides…the day was filled with memories and screams from speed.
The amusement side of the park has it all. For the young and the more advanced thrill seeker. My favorite was Spin Cycle…and it’s upside down twists and turns. Worth the ride! The roller coasters are fast, I mean fast!
For the water park, the slides were amazing. You have everything from fast plunges to twists and turns, in tubes to open air excitement. The water was warm everywhere we went. Plus clean! The lazy River hit the spot for us adults too.
For as many people were there, the staff was amazing, the park was clean, the food was amazing and I highly recommend the Huckleberry Shakes and Chicken Finger baskets.
We loved it, it truly is a great full day of memories in one place.

This family owned theme park has something for everyone! (And we didn't even make it to the water park!)
Our family group included ages 0 to 60, some much slower than others, but everyone had a blast...with exception of the infant who was too young to be aware of anything.
From wild coasters to milder log ride and children's rides; from a very enjoyable scenic train ride to comedy shows, this amazing park has got you covered.
You'll also find reasonably priced food and drink options.
Many of the attractions are handicap accessible and employees go the extra mile to help you learn the ropes and avoid long lines. (Just pick up a courtesy pass at the information booth when you enter the park).
Silverwood has a great website with helpful tips to make your visit the best! Check it out if you haven't already.

The roller coasters were fun but I can't say the same thing for the water park. The lines were huge for the water park rides, and I am talking about 40 minutes wait, but the rides themselves were fine but not very fun. The roller coasters were amazing, though there were 7 of them and the waiting was long as well. I just hope that the people who let the riders in learn to count well since they let more people than there supposed to be and the people behind me got on but I had to wait another turn.

Tons of stuff to do, whole park is clean even though there were lots of people. 2 day pass with break in between is best. Plan for one day at water park and another for the theme park. Food is reasonably priced but lines can be long if it is busy. Would recommend and we are definitely coming back next year!

Great place! This could easily be a multi day thing if you want to experience everything. Lots of cool places to see and fun rides. The wait time for the rides wasn’t even bad, we went on a sunny Saturday and they kept everything running smoothly so that we didn’t have to wait very long for the roller coasters. The waterpark had longer wait times, but I feel like that’s to be expected when it’s a warm and sunny day. We enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river which didn’t have waits instead!

We recently visited Silverwood and had an absolutely amazing time! From start to finish, our experience was filled with laughter, excitement, and memorable moments that we'll cherish forever. What impressed us the most was not just the incredible attractions, but also the affordability that made our family day out even more enjoyable.
The variety of rides and attractions at Silverwood catered to every member of our family, from the thrill-seekers to the more laid-back adventurers. The roller coasters were exhilarating, and the water park provided a refreshing break from the summer heat. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and maintenance of the park, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
One of the highlights for us was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They were always ready to assist with a smile, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the park. The efficiency in managing the queues and ensuring everyone's safety was commendable, making our visit stress-free.
What sets Silverwood apart is its affordability without compromising on the quality of the experience. The ticket prices, food options, and souvenir choices were reasonable, allowing us to make the most of our day without breaking the bank. This aspect made our visit not only entertaining but also budget-friendly, a rare combination in the world of theme parks.
In conclusion, Silverwood exceeded our expectations in every way. It provided a perfect blend of fun, excitement, and affordability that made it an ideal destination for a family day out. We wholeheartedly recommend Silverwood to anyone seeking a fantastic and budget-friendly adventure. We can't wait to return and create even more cherished memories at this fantastic amusement park!

I was originally going to take my grand kids to California, but decided to head to Idaho to Silverwood and what a great choice that was.
We arrived the first day after school let out. The parking is $10 we arrived at 10:45 am we found a spot immediately we were in the park and on the first ride within 1/2 hour. The lines weren’t very long 10 minutes at the most except the ferries wheel because it’s weighted balance, so they take time to make sure your on it correctly which at first can seem frustrating when your the first person in the line yet the last one on the ride.
The food is very reasonable $10 for a decent high protein yet fried food, they have a variety of places to eat I had a burrito bowl with chicken and yet it was only $10 as well.
The people who work there are friendly and helpful a great staff.
The park is clean we didn’t get a locker but the have them, they also offer refill drink containers.
The gift shops have fair prices I never felt like they were gouging prices, like they do at the movies and other theme parks the reasonable.
I will be retuning here.
The quarter arcade was a win, win when grandma (me) was tired, I gave them $20 and they played for 1.5 hours as I recoup.
I bought 2 day passes for 5 3 adults and 2 children and it was only a little over $450 what a great value for all the fun we had.
Thank you Silverwood & staff for making our first trip of the summer great.

What a clean, well maintained, and established theme park. So many rides with a variety of food shops and shopping experiences. Did all of the roller coaster except for 1. We spent an entire day up until evening time and enjoyed the lights, food, and atmosphere. Only recommendation would be having more lights along the walking path for nighttime and would be nice to have the ride signs light up. Also the log ride was very dark at night and would have like to see more added to the journey along the river. So much to see and do, it's a great day and night trip. Located close to Spokane and all amenities.

Great experience at Silverwood for their Scarywood Halloween event! The details are so intricate and the decorations and haunts were very elaborate! The Scaries (characters) were exciting, friendly and helpful when we couldn’t find certain places in the park. All staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The rides were SO fun at night! Highly recommend! It was very cold and the only thing I could think of to make it better is if there were more warming stations throughout the park. We will be back again. Excited to go to Silverwood this summer for more rides.

To say Silverwood is perfection is an understatement! From the moment you walk through the under highway tunnel, you are transported to a Mary Poppins feel. It's refreshing and a wonderful escape. Every employee was delightful, and the entire experience was fantastic! Wesley and the entire front gate crew sang Happy Birthday to my daughter, it was insanely special! The waits are long for favorite attractions, but being allowed to bring in food and drink helps pass the time...I saw several families picnic in line-so smart! Sometimes, I reflected that the lines were a good thing as I saw families and groups of friends talking to each other and playing games. I rarely saw anyone on electronics. The train ride is a must, Ranger Ruby and Edwin III are hysterical! Make time for the steam engine ride. The magic show with Nick is superb...like Vegas quality GOOD!! I wish we had attended it more than 1x. You will laugh, gasp and wonder for sure! The food is reasonably priced and the souvenirs aren't unreasonable. I appreciate this so much as it shows enjoyment over greed. It's fun how some rides came from bigger theme parks. I recognized 1 from Six Flags as I grew up 2 miles from Six Flags Over Texas. We attended on Grandparents Weekend and Saturday was packed, Sunday was 2/3 less full. I appreciate the free Grandparents ticket...again...enjoyment over greed. I'm looking forward to our next Silverwood adventure. It's worth the 8+ hour drive, in my opinion. Oh, and if you like to RV, the RV Park looked fantastic!
Thank you, Silverwood, for being a holdout for American values and family traditions. I appreciate the memories. Cheers!

This park ROCKS!! I first visited Silverwood in late August this year. The park is clean and filled will life. Coasters everywhere you walk. It's a bit weird getting to them though. The park has a t intersection as you enter, with a massive field in front of you. To the left is the coasters and to the right is their waterpark. I didn't do the waterpark, not my thing. But all the non kiddie coasters are good or great. My favorites being Tremors, Aftershock and Stuntpilot. Timber Terror and Corkscrew were decent but not mind blowing. Employees were friendly, but operations were pretty slow. Luckily it was a cool sixty degrees when I visited so I very much enjoyed both days I visited. Its a great park in the Pacific northwest, and I bet it's the best considering the lack of competition in Seattle.
I stayed at their Airbnb cottage with my baby & small dog, it was PERFECT and the hosts are so sweet. The alpacas/wildlife are great but if you’re looking for a getaway I would definitely check out their Airbnb 🙂
The cottage was warm & cozy with all of the things you would find in a well stocked hotel room plus a full kitchen and laundry. You’re in the mountains so it’s quiet and secluded as well. Treat yourself if you get the chance!

Animals were adorable and super friendly.

We had the best experience! Loved every bit of experiencing the gorgeous farm, it's lovely owners and of course the animals! If you're lucky to go in winter you might get the farm to yourself and it's pure bliss.

I took my parents and kids here, and we all loved it! My son loved playing with the goats, my daughter loved the donkeys, and my mother loved the gift shop! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

Wonderful excursion. Great host and very interactive tour. Alpacas. Llamas. Sheep. Goats. Chickens. Rabbits. Mini Horses. Donkeys. We’ll the rooster crowed at me so I didn’t mess with the chickens much but is definitely got my hands on the others! Highly recommend if you are near Coeur d’Alene.

Truly an incredible place! The owners of the ranch are fantastic and let you roam the ranch and explore. Most importantly, you can spend all the time with the animals that you'd like. The goats, donkeys, and ponies were definitely our favorite. The let you put them and they enjoy it, especially the goats, they are actually affectionate! I highly recommend coming here!

Such a beautiful and authentic place. Great for animal lovers who want to see them treated with respect and compassion. The owner Sonia was so kind, she was very helpful with the toddler we traveled with. Every part of the trip was educational and fun, even in the winter. See how many cats and bunnies you can count on your trip!

Amazing farm! Friendly people, unique story, and awesome experience 🤩
Well worth $12 bucks a person. There was a cat that greeted us when we arrived. Thr animals are sweet and love attention. There's an air bnb and 3 areas to bring an rv. Super cool👌

We had been there somewhere in August. And it was my first time to Alpacas farm. This place is so peaceful. The tour was wonderful. They even let you touch and water the Alpacas. There are donkeys, goats and sheep as well. You can reserve a stay in Airbnb.
Five stars!! We are planning to visit again. Thanks for an amazing experience.

Such a lovely place! Owned by and amazingly warm welcoming family, who treats their animals with love and know by heart all their names! Alpacas, llamas, donkeys, horses, sheep, goats… oh and of course their dogs and cats! Despite heavy rain we enjoyed every minute of our time at this barn! Thank you!
PS. A pro-tip: wear shoes that you will not be sorry to make dirty

What a great, unconventional thing to do on vacation. Sonia is a great host, Tiger the cat a perfect greeting committee and Mister the dog entertaining. You get to walk around and feed the animals carrots and enjoy the mountain beauty. You definitely leave feeling more peaceful.

While you're down town enjoying the activities of Coeur d'Alene Tubbs hill is a great walk and get away so close to downtown. Places to stop and enjoy views of the lake.
Donda Walsh — Google review
A very nice hike around the shoreline that kids can do with adult help in a few places. The view of the lake is spectacular and there are lots of trails that lead down to the waters edge. Additionally there are steep trails that go to the peak. Not the best view due to trees but really good for the heart rate! Overall this is a great family hiking place right in downtown Coeur d' Alene!

Great hike along the edge of the lake. It was a bit gusty but it was still fun. Good hike for young kiddos, my 3 and 4 year old walked most of it just fine.
We hiked the brown trail.

We loved hiking here! It was quite the exercise. We took the opportunity to use the little side trails that take you down to look at the water. I would love to set up a hammock there sometime. Beautiful views!
It's not wheel chair or stroller accessible, as there are lots of roots and rocks to clamor up.

Dog friendly hike. Starting out the trail was a bit difficult to find, but some hikers walked past and we figured it out after that. Beautiful hike.

It was amazing, but I'm very tired. A few trails for everyone 😁, we chose the loop trail, the whole trail was up or down, but the views were fantastic. We took many photos, nature is beautiful. There were many small and large rocks, bridges, the trail led among conifers but sometimes you walked in the sun without a bit of shade 😁. It was worth it although I had the moment that I could not cope, I would not come 😳. I came, I overcome fatigue 😀

Amazing public place for all to share and enjoy the beauty. The back side by Sanders Beach has a less busy feeling and the front by the resort and boardwalk has a couple beach spots and rocks to jump from- it's all beautiful and all good swimming! I've been runnin around on Tubbs since I was a babe and always come back for solace when I visit Cd'A. Bring an extra little bag to pick up some garbage if you have the spoons. ENJOY!

The stunning Lake Coeur d'Alene presents ample opportunities for recreational activities. With its picturesque surroundings, visitors can indulge in a range of water sports, take seaplane rides or bike on multi-use trails that run along the lake. The downtown area of Coeur d'Alene has plenty of Huckleberry products and excellent dining options to explore.

There are a lot of uses for logs on the lake. A substantial amount of them have broken free and lay haphazardly along the edge of the water. For being so far out in this wilderness that part was disappointing. Otherwise it was very nice to be out on the lake!

The second-largest lake in Idaho is less than ten miles east of downtown, with a comfortable surface temperature of around 70 °F in the summer months.
Conveniently, the largest city on the lakeshore, Coeur d’Alene, is right next door to Post Falls, which puts a wealth of amenities and experiences at your fingertips.
You can take a scenic cruise on the lake, walk a network of well-maintained trails, visit attractions like a cute llama farm, dine in the charming downtown area, go fishing or simply lie back next to this natural wonder.
City Park has an exquisite lakeside promenade and a stretch of beach, while McEuen Park has recently been renovated with a large splash pad that children adore in summer.
Lastly, Kokanee salmon migrate to the lake in fall and winter to spawn by the gravelly shoreline, and this event attracts dozens of bald eagles, best viewed at Wolf Lodge Bay, a few miles east of Coeur d’Alene proper.
Mt Spokane is a towering mountain peak located in the Inland Northwest, boasting scenic trails and historic ruins that lead to an observation deck with breathtaking views. Regardless of weather conditions, people feel gravitated towards this majestic natural wonder. It provides ample opportunities for biking, hiking, and enjoying the stunning vistas it offers.
Amazing drive with spectacular views of the mountain ranges! Excellent ski park for all levels from bunny hills to longer ones. The hike in the snow was pretty good. Open access to many walking and hiking trails. The vista house was close at this point of the year so will definitely want to be back for that. Parking wasn’t difficult but imagine it gets crowded during summer.

Hands down the best course I have played in Idaho or the area. Great condition, GPS on the carts. There is a lot of native grass, but no water which is a little different. I love to walk when I play but would not want to walk this course as it’s very spread out. Wish I would have taken more photos though. Also Bluetooth speakers on the carts which is very nice. Fairways probably impressed me more than anything else. Will hopefully make it back next year!

Exceptional golf and easily the best course in Idaho. The practice area alone is top tier with a separate short game area and full driving range. The course was in pristine condition and presented a lot of challenges or choices on how you could play each hole. The rolling wheat hills were beautiful and separated each hole so that you really can't see another fairway from your current hole. The par 3s were very long but had stunning downhill views (200 yards from the white tees). Greens weren't rolling very fast when I played it, which was fine with me but some of the greens weren’t in the best of shape if I had any complaint at all. Also practice green was closed. Got to see a moose and a calf walk across the 10th fairway which was special. Played here twice and both rounds were under 4 hours which was pleasing. Pro shop had a pretty big selection of goods and the staff was nice. If you are ever in this part of the country this course is a MUST play. Especially for the price, this course is way better than Coeur d'Alene resort course (circling raven is less than half the price of CDA resort). Come check it out you will not be disappointed.

Amazing golf course ⛳️ I would rate it the best in the area. It is a very long course if you are walking if you are carting they have really nice gps carts. The practice facility is huge and the pro-shop has everything. We took the kids for a practice round and we were the only ones on the course pretty much it was amazing 🤩 highly suggest this course

The scope a size of this course is enormous. I love that the course is in front of you. No blind/trick shot necessary. Generous fairways for a short hitter like me. Played from white tees it was less intimidating for a first time player. Good distances between holes. Very fair price.

Played at circling raven for the first time yesterday and I’ve gotta say it exceeded expectations on all fronts. The course was amazing, the practice facility was top tier the staff was welcoming and friendly the food was priced extremely well for the quality. the pro shop had everything you could ask for and more. Will be making the trip again with out any hesitations.

Outstanding facility, easily one of the best in the PNW. The course is excellent and when we played (August '23) the conditioning was impeccable. Practice facilities are great too. As far as the clubhouse goes probably one of the best resort merchandise selections around.
Modern casino resort with a pair of hotels, an 18-hole golf course & a spa, plus slots & bingo.
Oh dear, I could spend days here. I love the noise and atmosphere of casinos, and this one is very clean. It's wide open spaces and extensive variety of games makes it a great choice for a day of fun... or longer if you get lucky! Get yourself a free "Comp", just sign up for the casino card at the service desk. You get free gambling funds, 1st timers get up to $25, and you can build a rep to become a preferred patron- that brings a whole host of great comps and freebies.
They also have great restaurant fare, and of course you can have complimentary refreshments the entire time you are there.
Only take with you what you know you can lose, then always keep your winnings separate so you can go home with something, sometimes more than you came with! I wish you luck~

Reward play isn't a reward at all. It deducts your money along with their "reward" play. I haven't been to this casino about 20 years. I always had a great time but I moved to over an hour away. Today was exciting until I started playing. This being a new experience of the casino, I don't think I'll be back. Reward play in any other casino is just that, a reward.

Parking there is plenty of spots. Walking in you can smell the essential oils and how relaxed you become and excited and the waterfall sounds. Even in the waiting area that's already a huge start. I took my sister out for a relaxing birthday celebration. Loved the cool pool and hot tub, the steam room, the robes and shoes were so comfy and the massages were amazing. We did couples massage and man we wanted to stay longer. It was amazing.

Rooms- Furniture gave it a outdoorsy look. Not set up for business as there is only one plug in under the table. No plug ins near the bed for chargers either. I get it after all it's a casino you're not supposed to be in your room.
Bed- Nothing great, nor bad.
Shower- Needs more pressure. Bathroom was laid out nice with separate room for shower/toilet and sink.
Service- Great staff! On multiple occasions the staff greeted us with pleasantries. Best thing about the stay.
Location- Out in the middle of nowhere. But it's a stand alone casino/hotel so it's not meant to be downtown CDA.
Red Nail- Good food and reasonably priced.
I travel for business and took a chance on this one considering it is a casino. The Casino gave me a nice change of venue and if priced as it was in the future I would stay again.

Customer service is amazing, the staff is very attentive and always smiling. I was thankful for Mikaylah from the Banquets team, she went out of her way to help me and my wife and was pleasant to speak with. I will be coming back, and I've heard great things about the golf club and course, which my wife and I are interested in.

This is my favorite casino resort destination in the Pacific Northwest. My only complaint is the smoke from cigarettes is very noticeable in casino, they could use a much better air filtration system. The rooms are clean and beds were comfy. I like that I can golf while the wife gets pampered in the spa, and enjoy that they offer bingo with good payouts. But the customer service is top notch from every employee we encountered, and that alone is enough for me to be a continuing patron.

This is strictly a review for a Mountain Lodge room in tower 2. Stayed overnight Sept 2-3 2023.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been gambling at this casino for nearly a decade. My favorite in the area, this is my first time staying in the hotel. Booked a Mountain Lodge room, expecting a king but got a double queen. Never received a confirmation email before arriving, so there’s no proof.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not one to normally complain, but the toilet was absolutely unacceptable and needs noted. Blood, urine and hair was underneath the seat. Dried urine on the floor surrounding the toilet. The rest appeared “clean”, but it was blatantly obvious the seat wasn’t lifted and properly sanitized. Vent was noticeably dusty.
Slight musky smell in room, a condom and pizza slices littered the hallway. Wet footprints and body odor lingered in the elevators from unattended children using the pool. Mini fridge and air conditioning didn’t get cold enough for my liking. I appreciated the Native style of decor and furnishings, it created a certain ambiance. The door had an impressive safety feature, it wouldn’t unlock from the outside if the deadbolt was engaged. Handy in the right circumstance (if a stranger had your key card and tried to force entry). Overall: I really didn’t want to give a one star review, especially for somewhere I normally enjoy, but overpriced and unimpressed. Weary for now, maybe a stay in the spa area would be better? I don’t foresee utilizing the hotel again, I’ll stick with Mega Meltdown when I visit.

We stayed at the hotel last night and the room was pretty nice. My review would have been positive if the following had not occurred. We had a pretty late night and were planning to sleep in until 10, an hour before check out. Before 8 am we were woken by loud banging just outside our room. I looked out the window and saw two workers on a ledge about five feet below our room hammering through concrete. I called the front desk to let them know it had woken us up and that we were trying to sleep. The guy at the front desk couldn’t have acted like he cared less if he tried. After my second call to complain about the noise he said he’d look into it, but his bored and annoyed tone suggested otherwise. We left the room an hour and a half later with the workers still hammering away. They clearly don’t value their customers if they treat us this way. We should have stayed home, at least we would have gotten some sleep.

My husband and I attempted to stay here. The first room was very cheap feeling. Like benches made of plywood. Long story short, we upgraded rooms only to have the jetted tub flood our bathroom. The fireplace only lit to about 1 1/12”, the light switches didn’t work properly. And there are lights above all cabinets that are “ambient” and can’t be turned off. We left after being there less than 2 hours, didn’t use the room, still charged us $100. I forgot my comfy clothes, called and they said they had them and told me to file a claim. I did, got an email that they couldn’t find my items. I would never stay here or recommend it to anyone

There are lots of machines to play. they constantly offer the newest games. They have plenty non smoking areas as well. Also Bingo on ceraun days. They often have concerts.
The payouts are not nearly as good as they were in past years.
its a bit of a drive from Cda but,not bad.
The rooms are nice and clean. The food in the restaurants is very good.

I didn't stay in a room. I found the casino clean and fresh despite the smoking allowed. More machines were paying out. My sister and I lunched at the Asian Dining room. We loved the design of this room. We felt we were out in a wooded forest. There was a huge screen featuring a flowing stream. Food was a little pricy but worth it. Very friendly service too.

Gambling was okay. Food was good had strawberry salad. Most of the staff were friendly. Only 2 seemed to be in a bad mood or rude. The rudest one was at the place where you get your players card, I complimented her on her hair and is was like the worst thing I could have done. She became so rude, I just didn't know what to do! The second was a staff member who had the job of cleaning bathrooms, and you could tell she hated her job!!! Other wise the experience was good. Food prices are a little high for somethings but the food at our table was eaten completely and no one complained so obviously very good!

This casino realized how much money they made during the pandemic by not giving any coins back from the ticket redemption machines and closing the casino floor (therefore not having to pay staff) in the early morning hours to “sanitize “ we wake up and are not able to gamble til 7, eat til 8 and walk the length of the casino and stand in line to get ALL of the money you are owed. Besides this the odds are horrible- never go here when an awesome casino like Quest is so close! Amazed how such wealth only makes more greed at this place

Room bathroom was dirty. Electronic system malfunctioned and took people's money, staff was most unhelpful. Golf in the summer is pricey at $160+ per. No table games, not much to do unless you drive into downtown CDA or further. Golf facilities were nice and golf staff was very friendly.

We visited the casino for a music performance. It was so clean and beautifully decorated. There are smoking and non smoking areas. It was really impressive the immediate difference when you stepped into the different areas. We ate at the Little Dragon, which was great, enjoyed the show at the Night Hawk and had drinks there as well. They didnt have a drink menu, so I just asked for a fruity mixed cocktail. I got 3 different drinks and they were all great. Security was quick to help another guest that was having a hard time. Definitely want to go back!

This place is well equipped and inviting for handicap individuals. The service is wonderful. People are friendly and inviting. First time there! It was alright, kinda out in the middle of nowhere, 26 miles from town! If all you're there for is gambling then that's fine! Food options are limited we went to have dinner there and was told it was a hour and half wait, when there were empty tables in plain sight! Told group in front of us same thing! It was just two of us! It's beautiful out there but next time we'll stay in Coeur d'Alene and drive out there! More to see and do in town and food options!

Cool place. Nice golf course, good restaurants, all the gambling you would ever need, a gift shop that you can buy "discounted" tobacco as well as a gas station, basically at the entrance of the casino parking lot, with cheaper fuel and tobacco as well 😉. Parking at casino is great..... just stretches the length of the building so there's usually nothing to far out there. Employees are friendly and helpful. They also seem like they genuinely enjoy working there. It makes your visit to those kind of establishments so much more pleasant, it's unbelievable! Thank you and whatever you guys got going to keep your staff happy, keep that stuff up! See y'all next time!

It’s not terrible, but it’s not good. Most of the staff is nice besides the bartender.. waited in line as the only one as 3 workers sat there talking. I eventually just interrupted and asked for a beer and the dude throws my card and receipt and walks away. What a joke of service. Rooms aren’t terrible but very outdated and dusty. Machines are decent however your free play money is very limited to what machines you can use.

I can't really recommend this place. I have a sensitive nose, so the cigarette smoke indoors is a massive turnoff for me. Aside from that, pretty much every person I saw looked like they were the stereotypical redneck, like from a comedy movie or something. While that isn't normally a bad thing, in this case the atmosphere was unfriendly and generally upset. It's clear that people were spending their savings and not winning much. The food was also a let down. The side cafes had a very limited selection of fast food options. The restaurant area had a nice looking menu, but the food was fairly over priced for the quality. Flavors were decent, but I wouldn't eat there again. As casinos go, this one did not impress me.

I had the best time here today. It’s so clear everyone loves the cats (and others!) so much. I got to feed here white tiger. We had little chuff talks with the other tigers. I loved watching the foxes slide across the snow after food time. Very cool spot.

The staff here are fantastic! They really know and care about the animals. Without this facility, these animals might not be here. They are all rescues. Some were intended for zoos and for whatever reason, didn't make their destination and needed a home or animals rescued from owners who thought a wild animal would make a good pet. Others were used in photo-ops until they weren't deemed cute anymore. Lastly, there were those animals who needed a home because of interactions with humans necessitated them needing to be in captivity.
By visiting this place, you help pay for their upkeep and help fund the newer, larger, hopefully, more natural space they are trying to create for these animals who deserve much more nature and room to rest.
The cages are small, so in that regard I don't love the place but it beats them being euthanized. I'm thankful this place exists and hope they can fund and run the larger enclosures these animals deserve, which is why I visited this place in the first place.
My kid brought some of their own money for a donation and I paid for two feedings. We fed the raccoon, which is adorable and I fed the bear, which was amazing.

We had a great time there today! It was our first visit and although we have passed by for years now we finally decided to go. We're sad that we didn't come sooner. It is a great experience, even in the winter. Our kids loved every minute of it. It's educational and fun too! The animals are amazing, it's quite the experience seeing wild animals that close. We were able to warm up in the gift shop and get some cool stuff too. The staff and volunteers were all extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They took the time to welcome us, give us fun facts about the animals and just overall made our visit enjoyable. All in all, we look forward to coming back, bringing family, and donating when we can. Great people there amazing animals. You get to feed the animals! The gift shop is alittle pricey but it's nice as well on items to get while there. The price for feeding the animals is definitely worth it.!

It was decent experience. Center is small but good option if you're looking for a quick outing with small kids. Home for big cats, we saw tigers, cougars as well as some smaller animals like different types of fox, raccoon etc

Most of the small animals were in the shade napping but some of the bigger critters were out sunbathing they were definitely adorable and reacted very well when talking to them its definitely a family friendly place great to take kids too if you have any

Such an amazing place! I'm a huge fan of tigers and more, so seeing them here was amazing. The workers are so sweet. So many different types of animals!! :)) we also came during the Halloween event and got to see one of their bears (Oso I believe) eat a pumpkin! will be coming back at some point.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE place to visit!!! I LOVE tigers, wolves, foxes, etc, so Cat Tales is a dream come true! I went on a beautiful cold February day, and all of the animals were active. The ladies there were all wonderful and informative and I learned quite a bit from them. The tigers are the main attraction, and oh my gosh they're so majestic! I did all three feeding experiences; Tigger, one of the bears, four foxes and the raccoon. It was so worth it! This is a must-see for anyone who loves animals. I just wish it were closer to CdA 😅.

What a treat! A great way to spend an afternoon with family. Visitors will get a much more intimate experience than if they visited a full-fledged zoo - and for a fraction of the price. Caretakers are full of information about not only the various species who live here, but have great stories to share about each individual animal.
There is more to see here than only cats - bears, foxes, and a sassy raccoon also call Cat Tales home.
Small children will have a great time here, but be prepared: the sanctuary is a no-running zone.

Great day activity! Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to talk to everyone so anyone who had questions had the opportunity to ask them. And pointed us to the areas/ activities they thought the kiddos would like.

Had a fantastic time learning on our guided homeschool group tour! We enjoyed the beautiful creatures. From the tigers lounging in the sun to the foxes begging for treats.
