We would go again and again!

Amazing family experience! Lots of light, mystical music. A true wonder and gem
Sylvia Hanna — Google review
Very cool experience, unlike anything I've seen before.
I hate to talk much more about it because a great deal of the wow factor came from not knowing what was around the bend (for me, at least).
I think this is especially great for kids as they will be greatly impressed but as a small group of two adults, we were pretty pleased too.
Hardly any mosquitoes despite it being a forest walk so that added to the experience.
The only downside is that the lineup to receive the staffs is quite long. I'm not sure how they can make that more efficient though.
People with mobility issues or epilepsy should probably not participate in this.

Such a great experience and enjoyed it so much. So sad it is closing and won't be back in 2024.
Bernie ORay — Google review
This place is a just a tourist trap, not at all worth the money.
Its a really lack luster attraction and not at all comparable to the other similar attractions in Quebec. There's not much to see and just a general lack of lighting in a few areas.
When you leave they ask if you enjoyed your experience, to which we replied no. The staff just looked down and turned away so I guess they don't actually want the feedback!
I think it's just an attraction that solely exists to make you stay the night in the town so that the town can make some money. Save your money and enjoy some of the beautiful scenery of Gaspesie instead!
Tanya — Google review
This is a very nice sound and light. Very simple but beautiful. This version of a walk through the woods is very different than the static-project on a building type of sound and light. Be prepared and water solid walking shoes. (It is a bit dim in some areas, but this adds to the spectacle)
Gordon Muscroft — Google review
Loved it! Wish that the staff where longer so they wouldn't constantly blind you. I recommend going when it is not too crowded, maybe late at night? A lot more fun when there is no kids shouting and running around.

What a terrific camping experience! Possibly the nicest bathroom and shower facilities that I've experienced anywhere. Great job and thank you to the management and staff!

We booked the ready to camp site for a quick couple of nights to visit Percé. Everything was provided and was shocked at the quality of the ready to camp site. It is truly a hidden gem of a place if you are looking for tranquility. It is about an hour from Percé and we truly enjoyed it. The bathrooms were clean and the cooking shelter was large. There is also free wifi at the check-in office, which is a big plus, because cell signal was minimal. There’s not much in terms of hiking trails, but we were not there for that. The fishing is supposed to be good too. Would definitely go back if we plan another trip to Percé. It is a lot cheaper than hotels there at peak season.

If you like wild nature, it's the place! Great green trails lead you to fantastic river view! The only thing bothers me lots is the horse flies and mosquitoes, especially horse flies follow you wherever you go, so it's better to wear long sleeves and pants, with mesh cap, so that you don't get bitten by horse flies or mosquitoes much!
The best thing is to do snorkel in the river, I visited on July 1st, luckily there are wild salmons babies in the river, it was so special to swim with them! The water is so clear and fresh! Love it much!

Green untouched pristine surroundings. We couldn't do much because of the bad weather but definitely would love to come back. Special shoutout to the SEPAQ officers (Laurie at the reception desk) and park director for being so nice to us.

Beautiful area, with the beach very close. The lighthouse is quite large. Guests can go inside and climb to the top to see an amazing view.

It's a long drive to get there. But you get to see the area. Lots of history to understand. The lighthouse tour is awesome. You can climb to the top for a small fee. The view is excellent.
Raymond Rauber — Google review
Well maintained property, shop of local artisans and the best coffee and restaurant on the island
Rod Paul — Google review
It's a very quaint little souvenir shop/ice cream bar. Very Acadian. It also has a restaurant for the tourists but I did not go in. The lighthouse is not huge for such a small island but very cute.
Karen Ferron — Google review
Finally experienced being at the tip of NB. Nice scenery along the way with lots of culture to learn from every town. The lighthouse is a working one where one can also go up for a fee, $6 for adults and $4 for kids. The sound of the beach is so relaxing along with the sea breeze and smell. The location is clean and well maintained including there restroom. They also have a restaurant where you can dine in before heading home or to your next stop.
Suggestion, last gas station is at Lameque so you might want to fill up because Miscou island itself doesn't have one.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the most incredible experience visiting the Miscou Island Lighthouse! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning coastal views and the soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore. The lighthouse itself is a marvel of architecture and history, standing tall as a beacon of maritime heritage.
Climbing to the top of the lighthouse was an adventure in itself, offering panoramic vistas that took my breath away. The picturesque surroundings, with the rugged cliffs and serene waters, created a perfect backdrop for some truly remarkable photos.
The staff on-site were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the lighthouse's past and its significance to the local community. It's clear that they take great pride in maintaining this iconic landmark and preserving its legacy for generations to come.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Miscou Island Lighthouse is an absolute must-visit. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique and enchanting destination. Don't miss out on this hidden gem along Canada's beautiful coastline! ⚓🌅🗺️

A unique spot , a pretty view, and a detailed inside lughthouse experience. You can buy a ticket to go in and then up to the top of the lighthouse.

Absolutely beautiful! The gift shop also has some cute little handmade gifts which were super cute! I only wish the Cafe was open! It was a nice day when we went clear skies sun was shining and ocean as far as the eye can see! Just stunning! Definitely worth a drive to go see!
Jody Slays — Google review
Beautiful views, and a really cool experience to climb to the top of the lighthouse.
It’s $6 to enter the lighthouse ($4 for children I believe). It’s a bit of a climb (around 5 stories) to get to the top, and the last section to climb up is a ladder. Once you’re up at the light, there’s a small door to crawl through to get to the outside edge. The views from out there are gorgeous!
Jack Hickey — Google review
A snow storm is headed our way... the ocean is angry today but still beautiful.
Heather Johnston — Google review
Very nice lighthouse. When you go up the stairs, there's an incredible view. There's not a lot of information about the lighthouse other than the basics. Would have been nice to have anecdotes or historical facts about the place.
Dania Fawaz — Google review
Follow the light! Come see the oldest lighthouse in New Brunswick. On a sunny day there are lovely views of the salt marshes, peat bogs, and windy beaches from the top of this historic wooden lighthouse. The entry fee is cash only. There is a small gift shop. Parking is plentiful.
Cime Aventures is an incredible camping destination, offering a variety of unique lodging options such as cozy lodges on stilts, cottages, teepees and yurts. This eco-conscious campground features isolated campsites with or without electricity. Its kayaking down the river is a must-try activity that comes with wet suits for colder weather conditions. The place provides an awesome experience even towards the end of the season when it's less crowded.
Wow!!! Such an amazing place. We did Canoe with family in the river. Crystal clear water and you can see through the ground. Completely safe to descending the river. They give all safety precautions which we need to follow. One of the amazing/must thing to do in Bonaventure. Enjoyed a lot!!! You have an option for 10 KM or 20 KM. It takes about 2-4 hours depends up on the break time etc…!!! The cost is also pretty decent. We did not do camp.
A Ezhil Mani — Google review
Friendly team working there and super nice guides. Just a disclaimer, take the cancellation ensurance and ask 24 to 48 hours about the water level. They won't tell you until you're there and you'll get the surprise of your life if the water level is too high due to recent rain. You won't see much of what's showing in the ads and pictures. It's still beautiful, and the adrenaline will flow through, but the nice calm, clear water, you won't see anything of it.

We had sooooo much fun! Loved the Friday merchants market and concert. Definitely recommend the kayak adventure! Would return any time! Pet friendly!!

Awesome place. Amazing camping with lots of varieties of lodging. They have an eco-conscious atmosphere. With campgrounds that are isolated with and without electricity. We had the electricity option to heat our van during the night. It was cold in September so a good heater is a must. I must say that we went towards the end of the season. So.our experience was good because it wasn't as crowded.
The kayaking down the river is definitely the highlight. We took the "popular" option and had an awesome time. They provide wet suits when it's colder.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.
Michael Meltchenko — Google review
Really nice camping but the cabins are so hot! There is only a little window in the door that opens but there’s no air flow at all 🥲. I wish there was a ceiling fan or something
Taylor — Google review
We descended the river with Cime Aventure and their guides. They offer important insight on how to navigate with ease the rapids. Super clean river with crystal water. The team really implements keeping the river intact and being courteous with the fishermen that we might cross as it is not uncommon to see floats of salmon.
We stayed the night on their land and trust me, you cannot ask for more. Super children and pet friendly. It’s nice to see a clean place like this and seeing people being a good spirits. The owners were super welcoming and shed insight on their mission and company history. They explained to us how it was all created. Alsooooo they are environmentally conscious - they re-use their water for showers and bathrooms.
A must see / go-to for everyone!

Overall very disapointed with my stay and experience with cime aventures. I had heard good reviews from people but my experience was very different.
First let's talk about the tipi accomodation.
they seem to have taken down a lot of the picture from their website now, but while we booked, they had done a very nice job of marketing their tipi,
They were showing off pretty and clean tipi with nice glass patio door and with indoor fireplace.
The tipi we arrived to was very different, the indoor fireplace had been taken out, fully removed leaving only a part of the old chimney. The nights were very cold at the beginning of september, around 5 degrees and very humid, The inside was incredibly humid and cold, not at all comfortable without a fireplace.
There was incredible amounts of spiderwebs found at the entrance of the tipi and an old ugly wooden door was used instead of the nice glass door from the picture.
The 2 small beds were covered in a plastic cover to protect it but the big one wasn't, it was covered in an old bedding that someone had clearly brought and left behind, I Was very uncomfortable with the idea to sleep over someone's old sheet and no mattress protection.
The second day was an incredibly rainy day, and we even had some rain dripping in the inside of the tipi, directly on the bed.
I do understand that this is ''camping'' and not a 5 star hotel but the tipi is just clearly not cleaned, filled with spider webs and leftover soot all over. The cost of the tipi really doesn't reflect the low quality of the accomodation.
The toilet and sink are also a little far, and its impossible to bring the car close to the tipi which makes it quite hard to bring all the stuff in, especially in the dark, at night.
We didn't end up seeing the shower because we ended up leaving a day early because how uncomfortable our first night was in the tipi, and the water dripping in the second day. But the toilet facilities close to the restaurant were very dirty and smelly, and there was no hot water on any of the sink in that area, I don't know about the others.
The pool area/spa look deserted like if no one had taken care of cleaned it in months.
I still enjoyed my kayak experience, but I don't think we can say the same of many others that took the trip at the same time than us.
The water levels were INCREDIBLY low, they mentionned to us possibly having to stand up 1-10 times during the duration of our 20km trip, but we were talking about more than 30+ time if not more. There was some entire section where it was impossible to use the kayak at all and had to be crossed on foot in the river while dragging the kayak.
knowing those condition the little water boots should be provided at NO COST to everyone, They were really not pushing the fact that we would have to walk into the river that much to people and many skip renting those which would made the ride very uncomfortable. Luckily they were at least renting the wet suit for free because of the cold temperature and the rain but same should be done for the rain boots in such low water levels.
Many (older ) people were growing extremely tired, uncomfortable and frankly frustrated after many hours of dragging their kayak in cold water and getting stuck on rock every couple minutes,
Proper warning should be given as well as discount on low level days.
Marie-Michelle Pepin — Google review
Must keep in mind that this is a big area and a Camping space, even if you're staying at private rooms the service won't be the same of a 5 star resort. That said, i saw the staff work hard everyday on the bathrooms, reception, bar and activities to make sure everyone had the best experience. I had a blast there, the camping was nice, the river is amazing and the bar has a good variety of local beer and food. Only con is that it has a fire interdiction when i was there, so we couldn't make a fire on the camping area, but it's also something they can't control.

A little small, and though some of the animals are stated as rescues, some are not, so a little uneasy about their captivity as lots of them are pacing the fences.

The Quebec Acadian Museum in Bonaventure is an excellent place to learn about the early history of la Gaspesie and the settlement of French immigrants. The museum offers exhibits featuring paintings, tools from the era, toys, and other artifacts that transport visitors back in time. The displays are presented bilingually in French and English, making them accessible to all. The museum also showcases local wildlife through live animal feedings, a rare opportunity to observe these creatures up close.
Pretty small place, worth stopping even if you only have 15 minutes. Fun to see the cute buildings that match the old photos in the back. Next door, you have a nice gallery regrouping the art made by many artists and a cute boutique also selling cute treasures made by local people. It’s worth the stop and worth peaking in !!
Sandra Margolis — Google review
Nice museum to learn about the beginnings of la Gaspesie and how the first French immigrants settled to make this great place.
All the information comes in French and English and they have also exhibitions with paintings, tools from the era, toys, etc.
It transports you to their times and see what all this people passed through and still they’re standing.

Amazing way to spend a couple of hours . Well worth the entry fee. Their exhibits are well planned and organized out with local fish from.salmon, sturgeon , blue lobsters , cod to a touch tank with crabs, blue lobsters, clams, sea cucumber to an open air seal tank in which the seals are only a few feet away. The seals are very adorable and funny ! Their gift shop is also very large and has a wide selection of variety souvenirs. We all had a fabulous time. It is definitely worth visiting. We enjoyed it, a small place but with many beautiful and unusual creatures of the aquatic world. We particularly liked jellyfish and sea lions. They also have a small aquarium outside with crabs, lobsters, and other species that you can touch in the water.
We also stumbled upon a small show with the sea lions being fed at 11 a.m.

This place is a gem of a site to visit. Their exhibits are well planned out with local fish from cod, salmon, sturgeon, blue lobsters, etc to a touch tank with crabs, lobsters, clams, sea cucumber, etc to an open air seal tank in which the seals are only a few feet away. We took our kids and they also loved the indoor boat's bridge setup. We all had a great time. It's well worth the detour from the main highway, especially because the scenery along the way is great too.

Place is really neat. It is mostly in two sections for the live fish, then a room for information amd outside tank where you can watch the seals. Place is really fun, great for kids and watching the seals at feeding time is really fun. You can easily spend a couple of hours here.

This aquarium was awesome. So many fish to look at, activities for the kids to And a seal show also, and fun photo spots outside for everyone. Including a beautiful light house that over looked the ocean. A must see for the whole family.

Small, but albeit very nice aquarium. The displays looked brand new, and seemed to be very well maintained.
It was cool to see the blue lobsters, the variety of other fish and shellfish they had, and the gift shop had some very cute souvenirs.
Around the back there was a nice boardwalk, and several areas to take nice pictures.
Unfortunately the touch-tank was closed (I’m guessing probably due to covid), and the seals pool outside looked very dirty.

Protected area with millennia-old fossilized fish & plants, a nature museum & hiking trails.
Very interesting visit to this cool fossil museum. The walking tour was pretty cool down to the beach and the museum itself was very informative! Was it worth $24 per person? That could be argued. But you only live once! 😊😊

I was not expecting to enjoy looking at fossils… but was pleasantly surprised. Our Docent SARAH was extremely well spoken. She knew we had 1.5 hours and summarized the massive amount of information in a concise and captivating way. She was passionate about her work and was proud of her colleague Jason and what they had accomplished at the park.
I commented on her ability to communicate and she shared her parents were English but she had grown up in a French schools. She indicated at times she struggled to find words however, I was extremely impressed with her ability to convey millions of years worth of information in such a short time!
Belinda Roberts — Google review
Not a very big park at all, but what’s nice about it is that there’s a little trail in the woods above the cliff to explain stuff, and the steps down to the beach so you can see the pancaked layers of geologic record very clearly. Come at sunset hour and double your fun with a very nice sunset perspective while you examine the exposed rock cliff for various earth-era strata.

Impressive UNESCO site near our lodging. The visitor centre has a charge and the park around it has a separate charge. Both were interesting if you like fossils and earth history.

Very interesting fossil exhibit-who knew our Canadian shores could unveil such treasures! Took the 3.5km trail along the cliffs also, very pretty.

Really cool park! We visited today with our puppy, and did the only pet-friendly trail, l'évolution de la vie. It took us just under an hour with stops to read the information along the trails. It's a very easy trail that follows the water and provides beautiful views! We noticed several birds and even a snake or two along the way!
We didn't have the chance to explore other areas of the park, given dogs aren't allowed, but the Main Building seemed to have some cool fossil displays!

We really loved our visit to Miguasha National Park. The fossil exhibit is really amazing. We did the walk before the museum because it was going to rain later. If you have the chance to do the museum first it will make the walk that much more special. Right now there are not informational signs along the walk because they are doing updates. Take the stairs down to the lake and search for fossils. Definitely worth the visit!
Georgina — Google review
I am not a big fan about fossils but I give them credit to have 2 ginkgo trees in front of them! For that they ARE qualified for their specialty for ginkgo is the living fossil. They have different prices for different accessibility of their resources. I chose the cheapest one so only had a walk on the beach to admire the cliff and rock. They have a short walking trail and outdoor activities for kids. Their service and activity guide were both in french, I didn’t check if they can speak English. They have a nice cafeteria that offers good clam chowder.

The Village Historique Acadien is an outdoor museum in New Brunswick that showcases the history and culture of French settlers who made their home there in the 17th century. Visitors can explore over 40 historic buildings, including a replica of a turn-of-the-century hotel, and interact with costumed guides who bring the past to life.
Overall, it's like a small village. I liked that each successive house becomes slightly more modern. There are various animals and vehicles from that time. But the most interesting thing is that the village workers seem to live here. You can see them having lunch or working on sewing machines from that era. In general, it shows how many tools from different times used to work and how they evolved over time. In each house, there's a village representative who tells about the house and what people were doing during that time.
On the village grounds, there are a couple of souvenir shops. They are special because some products are made right in the village, with workers showcasing their craft during presentations. For example, barrels, shoes, towels, etc.
Regarding relaxation, there's a restaurant in the style of that time. The menu is limited to 2 main dishes and 2 desserts. However, it's very quick and delicious. There's also a more modern café in the central building and an establishment with snacks and drinks in the village itself.
Overall, highly recommended, especially if you have children.

Beautiful stories of history! If you love history and the way things were done back in the 1600's must go!

This is a very interesting and large museum of Acadian culture and life. We enjoyed our time there.
The only inconvenience was that not all guides can tell you as much in English as they do in French. So if you don't know French, you miss out on learning more about the different buildings and households. The guy at the woodworking shop was amazing though! He explained a lot in English, and he's fun too.

This was fun. Lots of things to see and costumed performers to talk to. The village progresses through time so you see how life changed over the course of time. Lunch in town was amazing!

Not to be missed! Ne manquez pas! What a special time we had visiting the village and staying at the Chateau Hébert. Quelle expérience exceptionnelle 🤩The houses are presented by an interpreter “in role”. The quality of the presentations and learning of life through the centuries is so worthwhile. We were blown away! Merci beaucoup!

It is indeed the nicest hotel, people, and historical parc/spot I have stayed at in a long while. Stayed two nights at the Albert hotel. No TV in the rooms but had my laptop. WIFI was fine. Awesome experience. Must visit if you are a fan of French Canadian history - Acadian. Staff are bilingual and very eager to accommodate you in every way possible. I intend to go back soon!

Friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. Worth staying overnight in Caraquet and doing the park in two days (standard ticket allows this). Gives a real feel of times gone by. Era gets closer to modern day as you walk through. Give it plenty of time and talk to the authentic “residents” in each building. A highlight was Martin’s house and his story and the fantastic, working old water mill
Philip Stamp — Google review
This place is spectacular. Literally going back in time since the workers play the characters of the people that lived not only during the era, but the ones that actually lived in these actual homes. They don’t break character much either. They are knowledgeable about all equipment used, all artifacts in each room are actually used by them. They make their own meals in the traditional Acadian way, wash their dishes and all. They tend to their gardens. It seriously IS like stepping back in time.
Plus all staff are bilingual. Friendly, and you can tell they love their jobs.
I’ve visited here about 3 times, but will do so again. Each time I go depending on the hour I learn something new.
Go, you won’t regret it!
Vicky Frees — Google review
The village is well set up. It's a nice gentle walk with a rest area halfway through that has snacks and beverages with places to sit and rest. I liked how the second half of the village is a bit newer (20s to 50s). We stopped at the bistro for lunch and the food was delicious! Well worth the visit!!

Highly recommended of you pass in this area to know about the history of the population. I learn a lot of stuff. Their is a lot to see, so came early to have the time to visit everything. Also your ticket is good for 2 days, so you can come the next day if you haven’t had the time to visit everything.

People “in role” would act as the people who lived in the house, and explain the history behind them, very large area, il fait plus bon pour les famille, I would definitely recommend.
Pretty little spot
Free entry unless you want to donate
Dog friendly (as far as I know)
Toilet and a changing area for you baby in the woman's bathroom.
You can go down to walk along the beach.
Not a swimming type of beach.

The site has approximately a dozen parking spaces, there are full bathroom facilities and a picnic area. A path leads down to the beach area, it isn't too steep (about 70% grade). If the tide is low you can walk up the the rocks. Definitely worth visiting!

This is home, to me. I grew up in Campbellton and spent a lot of time by the big salmon, as a teenager during the warmer months.
The sound of the water fountain is so very relaxing. Great place to bring your family or even go by yourself and unwind. There's even an area set up for children to play safely.
Every time I visit my family, a few of us makes sure to get down there to sit at one of the picnic tables, to have a coffee together.
It's a great place to take a nice stroll as the view is magnificent and it's right behind a mall, should you get thirsty, hungry or need to buy some better footwear! lol
When there's no pandemic going on, it's also a place where musicians come and share their talent, allowing you to tap your toes or get up and dance!

This is a great place on a sunny day. The trails are almost entirely flat, lots of wildlife to see, and the coastal trail gives you cool bay breezes. There are a couple of lookout spots overlooking the marsh and gives you some peaks at the city of Bathurst. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

What a beautiful place. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from the world and just relax. There are benches spread out in the park and well identified trails. My favourite was the Coastal Trail, as given in the name it follows the coast of the Bay for a while. Great views and well kept park.

Cute but small, yes stop here to visit but don’t expect too much. Couple of stores, ice cream shop, restaurant, observation deck, place where you can rent leisurely equipment to go on the water, little centre point with live music sometimes, public washrooms, small art gallery, and good information centre. Nice spot to visit, but the boardwalk is in need of repair. Lighthouse closed. We sat in the pavilion and met some local people who come there all the time. They loved Raven and we all chatted. It was so nice.

Beautiful spot. How lucky we are to have access to this island! It’s a day park with lots of picnic sites, many with spectacular views. It’s worth the drive just to see the lighthouse, which is painted in the colours of the Acadian flag. The boardwalk could use some TLC. I’m sure that will be taken care of because everything else here is maintained with pride. Next time, I’ll go for a day and not just a quick visit.
Laurie C. — Google review
Kids love the park. Boardwalk is still out of commission. Wish there was a fence or something to keep the kids a little safer as the park is like 20ft from the water.
Samantha Treadgold — Google review
A nice park with walking trails and lots of parking. The change rooms have just been replaced with new ones (Summer 2022). Hopefully they will also be fixing the boardwalk soon as it is falling down in many areas and closed off at the time. The lighthouse and structures were also just painted and look great. The wildlife is nice lots of birds and chipmunks.
Thomas Hyde — Google review
Warning: Mosquitoes, bring protection.
The Lighthouse was closed which was disappointing. Walking along the beach was a pleasant experience with lots of nice rocks, seaweed, and some dead crabs. Once we headed to the boardwalk, we found out that the wind at the beach had been holding back a swarm of mosquitoes. We retreated to the beach after getting bit dozens of times each, and walked back with the ocean breeze keeping the mosquitoes away, until going to the car.
Reina Duplin — Google review
Spectacular area along the water. Great place for bird watching. Nice, easy trails along the beach head. Note: The boardwalk itself is closed as apparently deemed to be unsafe and this would appear evident as the boardwalk is literally "out of commission" in a few spots. Regardless, its a great place to visit and spend a couple hours. Bring your bug spray!

Saint Michael's Basilica Catholic Church

To be fair - it is categorized as a "mini basilica". It is full of charm and well worth the stop. We got spoiled as we got a private tour because we were alone there and Blake just took us to all the interest area. And to say I just wanted to stop to make a prayer - we spended 1 hour there.
There are two chapels within it. Take time to look at everything... and the different artists with the stained windows. There is alot of stories, and history.
Shanna Frechette — Google review
The basilica caught our eye while on a boat ride the previous day. We dropped in to say a prayer, light a candle, and enjoy the peace of the place. Being the only ones there, it was easy. Just before leaving, the caretaker (apologies... we forgot your name) gave us a private tour. He was proud of the building and what it had to offer and he shared all of it with us. We feel priviledged to have seen all the rooms new & old, and very old.
We had a real feeling of community here. Thank-you for sharing.

Saint Michael's Basilica Catholic Church stands as a historic and spiritual treasure. Located in Miramichi, it's a symbol of the area's strong Catholic heritage. The church's stunning architecture and intricate details reflect its significance as a place of worship and community gathering. French fort cove is for family, kids, friends or company activities. It has a great trail and beautiful sceneries. A playground for kids and what we tried with my kid is the over the cove zipline. From what i read it is the longest zipline in the maritime area. Having an acrophobia it is really frightening but with the courage of my little boy i compose myself. Most interesting unique free park jewel in the area!
My family and I did a "pit stop" at this place during our Maritimes road trip in Jul 2023. We loved this park which had quite an interesting statue-like structure theme in the shape of a ship wreck. Located on the far east of Newcastle, I followed carefully the directions which was spot on. The park had an assortment of things to do: playground, picnic & benches to sit down, docks, lovely sightseeing into the riverfront, and fast-food and beverage options at reasonable prices. What caught our attention was the free open-air mini concerts: down-to-earth kind of musicians showing off their Acadian heritage through songs for which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this well-maintained place.

Always love coming here when we return to NB for a visit. Great location by the Miramichi river and the kids playground is great. We love the live music and dancing in the evenings as well. We were disappointed to see a couple shops closed during Covid and never reopened. Such a shame, but still a 5 star place to hang out.
Lisa Darkwing — Google review
Time and time again, I was amazed at how much Miramichi can pack into such tiny areas and Richie Wharf Park was no exception.
As the name would suggest, it is right Ong the water and has incredible views throughout. However, it also has restaurants, a cocktail bar, snack shops, a playground, mini lighthouse, mock ship sails, river boat tours and historical buildings with a gift shop and mini museum.
It's a great place for everyone. Bring your dogs, kids, family members or just yourselves. You'll love it.

Kouchibouguac National Park is a coastal natural area situated on the east coast of New Brunswick. The park features various habitats such as barrier islands, lagoons, forests and sand dunes that provide shelter to seabirds such as the endangered piping plover and harbour seals. One of its unique aspects is that it's a dark sky preserve which restricts light pollution providing an opportunity to stargaze amidst breathtaking views of the Milky Way.

Although there were way to many misquitos, I loved this place and the experience I had. From seeing wild life at our campground, beautiful trails with spectacular scenes and a fairly large campground. The amount of stores/shops was lacking but there were enough to get though one week easily. The entrance was a little far from the initial campground but that made sure there were no loud car sounds during night time. Overall, this experience was very nice.

We were on our way from Charlottetown to Bathurst when we saw signs for this place, and decided to swing by not expecting much. We ended up staying for several hours and it quickly became one of our favorite spontaneous roadtrip stops. The only way I can accurately describe Kouchibouguac would be "simple yet beautiful." The pine forests are pristine, the beaches are beautiful, and the tidal marshes are loaded with all sorts of wildlife. I will certainly be returning here to camp next time I find myself in New Brunswick.

Fun park to explore on bike or by car. Kelly's Beach is gorgeous and the hiking trails are nicely maintained. Dog friendly area with very few people. C. Palko — Google review
Well groomed trails, lots of fun activities such as kayaking, boating, cycling (all for 20$-30$ rental fee per activity per hour).
Camping sites are well managed, some serviced and some are not. Usually very busy. Lots of security patrols throughout the night so it is safe. However, can't party after 11 pm because camp sites are so closer to each other. Hence, privacy is less.
Firewood only can be purchased from the main office. Can't have open fires. Use only the provided fire pit.
Washroom and the public cooking sheds are the cleanest ones I have ever seen. Hot water for shower available. But no electricity outlets to charge your electronic items. Thus bringing power banks and batteries encouraged.
Beautiful sandy beaches and boardwalks are there to enjoy.
AAND....
Beware of Mosquitoes. They are huge and swarming. Bring bug sprays and mosquitoe repellents and cream and everything you got. Believe me they are really bad.

Kouchibouguac National Park is a hidden gem that is not to be missed! This beautiful park is located in eastern New Brunswick, Canada and is truly a natural wonder. The park spans over 238 square kilometers and offers visitors a range of activities to enjoy.
Firstly, the park boasts an impressive 25 kilometers of stunning coastline. The beaches here are some of the best in the region, with warm waters perfect for swimming, sandy shores ideal for sunbathing, and plenty of opportunities for beachcombing. You can also explore the coastal dunes and salt marshes, which are home to an abundance of wildlife.
Inland, the park offers a range of hiking and biking trails that will take you through dense forests, along winding rivers, and past tranquil ponds. The trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of difficulty levels, making them suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Along the way, you can spot various wildlife, including black bears, moose, and beavers.
Another highlight of Kouchibouguac National Park is its paddling opportunities. The park boasts a range of waterways, from calm lakes to rushing rivers, which are perfect for kayaking or canoeing. You can rent equipment on-site or bring your own.
Finally, the park offers a range of camping options, including campsites, yurts, and oTENTiks (a cross between a cabin and a tent). The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Overall, Kouchibouguac National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to connect with nature and explore the great outdoors. The park offers a range of activities that will keep you entertained for days on end, and the stunning scenery is sure to leave you in awe. Highly recommended!

From what I saw and experienced on a day visit to the park, it is a unique and beautiful place to explore. The trails are easy but interesting. A lot of things to do. However, because of the marches, it is a very humid and very warm place that is a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes and other very useful creatures that support the unique ecosystem but, nevertheless, very annoying for the human visitors.... Besides walking on boardwalks, you are swarmed whenever you stop for a break, want to have a picnic or simply get to nearby washrooms.

I only spent one 4 degree night here in early June, but I would love to come back.
First, THE STAFF. Not only did they help me find a warm Otentik to stay in when my tenting site was so windblown by Atlantic winds that I would have died of cold in the night, but they were understanding when I came in and asked to stretch on the floor of the visitor centre to get out of the cold and give my back some relief.
I walked out to Kelly's Beach. Despite the whipping winds, spraying water and rain, I could tell this was a beautiful beach! (If you can come when you have better weather than me!)
Would also love to come back to my waterfront site at Cote a Fabien!!! (In better weather!)

We have been at Kouchibouguac many times over the years. It is a wonderful place for cycling, kayaking and the beach. The sites are nice and big. You can have in the woods or open. The people working at the park are very nice to deal with and are accommodating. Love this place. The only drawback is the it is often full in the high season and long weekends, you have to reserve in advance or keep checking for cancellations.

Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is a scenic location with a picturesque beach, lifeguards and dunes, as well as a popular landmark lighthouse featuring a small museum. This park is situated away from the main tourist routes and typically sees fewer visitors than other beaches in the area. The beach offers an ideal destination for families as it provides various kid-friendly experiences such as shell-collecting and beach games like volleyball and disc throwing.
Loved my camping trip. Beautiful views from campsites. Not all the campsites are equally nice. I suggest maybe calling to book as the pictures on the website aren't always helpful.
U9 is a nice unserviced site with shade and privacy but still very close to the water.

Nice little campground. Very laid back atmosphere and right on the water. The beach was beautiful and not super crowded. Water was very warm and a delight to swim in.
Washroom facilities were inspected/or cleaned every hour so they were always pleasant.
Park is dog friendly so long as they're on leash. We're many furry animals out for walks around the park. There were even a couple cats tied out at one trailer.
Only downside of the park is the beating it took from Fiona. The pictures of U7 to U11 show lots of trees which are no longer there (2023). Also pay attention to the size of each site, some are significantly bigger than others. Without the trees there is no place to set up a tarp and little shelter from the winds as thunderstorms roll in.
Other than that the park was great. Lighthouse a short walk in one direction and ice cream available a short walk in the other direction.

Great view for spot 22! Wish the spots were more spread out, though. Ate at Sally's Grill at the nearby wharf - very nice. Next door to beautiful West Point Lighthouse ♡

Excellent beach, well kept, and wheelchair accessible. Lovely place & lovely people. Cute little ice cream shop and not a far drive from the boardwalk!

Beautiful beach and another well-kept lighthouse. This one you can rent a room in!!!! Two guest rooms are in the actual tower!! The rings are so quaint with an ensuite bathroom with a fitted tub and separate shower!! We were able to peak in while one of the rooms was being cleaned!! So cute!! We then climbed to the top of the lighthouse with amazing views of the beach!!

We had a really nice time here, only spent a night but we were able to spend a good amount of time on the beach and exploring the lighthouse! The light house is really beautiful and unique- black and white striped and the beach was long and beautiful!
The down side is there is no privacy between sites and the bugs were really bad!
Overall we definitely recommend if you want easy access to a beautiful beach.

Edit: We were able to come back but did learn that how the sites are set up when the campground is more full is a little odd. One is facing another camper so basically, 2 different groups share one large site. It’s a little awkward especially if you’re just wanting quiet and privacy or if one is socially uncomfortable. Also risky if you end up with rude campers. Still doesn’t affect my rating but wish I knew this was the set up. Only way around it is if you back in where you’re supposed to pull in or vice versa, if your hook ups allow it.
What a great park to camp and very clean. Full hooks up sites available for us glampers with RV's. The other sites were well maintained and beautiful and all close to the beach with plenty of garbage cans around the whole park. The park is staffed from 6 am until 10pm for off season and 24 hours for summer. They were so accommodating and very more than friendly. We stayed for 5 days and did not want to leave, but, we will be back!!

Beautiful ocean side campground. Great for campers/RV’s. If you are old style like us and still love tenting, there are no wooded sites. No shelter from the elements. So you are at the complete mercy of Mother Nature. But if the weather is nice, this place is awesome. A wharf and restaurant is a short beach walk on one side, and there is a beautiful lighthouse a short beach walk on the other. Definitely worth checking out!
Monia Boudreau — Google review
Spectacular location! They took an awful beating from the hurricane. Hook ups are very strange. Every second site has to pull in forward to connect to the services. Didn’t want to do that as our big window would have faced away from the ocean so our sewer and water lines ran right in front of our steps. Otherwise it was great

We stopped by here on a little road trip yesterday, and although it was a bit windy, we had a wonderful time as there was no one else on the beach. The campsites are tucked away for the season, but it looks like they have a pretty good layout; likely a great site to bring young families to make new friends and memories! The park itself was quite clean, but the beach had many signs of inconsiderate humans (this is why we can't have nice things). We took what we could with us. I love the little boardwalk and lookouts, just adds a sense of adventure! Kids (and adults) could spend hours on the beach finding seashells and crab shells and sea glass. We had a great time!

Striped 5-story lighthouse built in 1875, now with history exhibits, guest rooms & scenic views.
First time in PEI and first experience with lighthouse. The museum is very informative. We were able to go upstairs to the top of lighthouse and enjoy the view. There is also a great beach and trail that you can walk and enjoy.

A magnificent view, though a very high climb on steep stairs to get there. A great beach next to it to walk across with a sand bar next to it (easily accessible, especially further down the beach). Quiet as well, with some cool rocks and the water wasn't very cold at all.

We stayed in the Tower Room...highly recommend! Bed and linens were so comfy and room was incredibly clean & decorated with antique furniture. The clawfoot tub was lovely too. We enjoyed hearing the waves crash at night and the hum of the light up top the lighthouse. Not to mention the hospitality...great recommendations & even accommodated a gluten-free breakfast. We can't wait to come back and will make sure to head to the campfire for ghost stories!

It was a beautiful rainy day. My favourite lighthouse on the Island. The drive along highway 14 is scenic and offers a few places to catch the coastal cliffs in photos.
I'd love to stay at the campground during cool or warm weather. Just beautiful and worth the drive.

We loved the museum and the history of it all. We are also staying here in a room at the westpoint lighthouse Inn. We love it so far, clean modern rooms with breakfast included. We spent three days in the Cavendish area before coming here which we enjoyed but this has a totally different vibe. Way less touristy.

The Lighthouse Museum is very interesting, goes up to the very top and is free for guests staying at the inn.

Definitely come visit West Point Light House. Very beautiful light house and my inner kid loved the old fire truck was a bonus I didnt expect. If you have the kids you will find a park on site as well with some benches so pack a lunch and relax well taking in the ocean view and unwind. I also found so many shells in great shape for the shell collector's out there.

My sister invited us as a family to go tubing, and was very happy to find that Stewart’s rents “dog tubes”, ones with a bottom, so we showed up, paid the $20 each, rented a cooler tube as well for the beverages, used the change rooms to get into our bathing suits then got bussed up river where we were told the dry spell had lowered the water levels and anything that “rippled” was a rock, and we should try to avoid bumping it.
Let me tell you, I bumped my butt down that river more than a few times, but I can’t think of a time when I’ve had so much fun with my family and friends.
I asked Stewart’s about how young a patron they suggest, and the answer was not younger than four years old, and it really helps when mom isn’t the only one trying to keep four kids under her wing. ;) I asked this as we’ve some family back on PEI that I think would love to join us on another run with Stewart’s tubing in the future.
It was a great day out, and I have to thank Stewart’s for being so friendly and accommodating. Super fun!

Always a good time! Make sure to go after a good rain as a lot of the terrain is hard to get through when the waters low. Was feeling quite sore the next day after slamming so many rocks! Great service with Stewart's as always. I don't have any photos as it's a really horrible idea to bring your phone with you on the run!

Such an awesome experience!! Knowledgeable staff to help you around every corner. All tubers respectful of rules and other tubers. Great way to spend a day with family and friends. Coolers welcome with no glass. Spots to hop off and have lunch and snacks. Great food available in the store also. I had the best pizza at the end of the run.

It would be a really nice place to go if they would stop allowing people when the river level is too low. We passed half the run walking and another quarter stuck on rocks. They post a 2h runtime but it took is over 3h while not enjoying the run. There are better place for tubing in Miramichi but the staff is really nice and helpful so it compensate a bit.
Andre Albert — Google review
The water level was way too low. We checked before leaving to make sure it was high enough and they said the level was good. Even though we were extremely careful not to hit ourselves on the rocks, we came home bruised and scratched everywhere. We should be advised before that we will have to walk half the run.

Wednesday July 22, 2020: it was our first time to Stewart’s Tubing , as well as our first time tubing ever. It was myself, my husband and my 11 year old daughter. (TL/DR: The rocks are annoying, but we’d go again. 4 out of 5 just because of the water level is too low sometimes)
Before leaving home we checked their Facebook page and their website to see what we needed to know.
Getting there: we drove from Moncton to the Irving gas station in Sunny Corner NB and then followed the road signs. It was well marked and easy to find.
Arrival: We were greeted in the parking area and welcomed by a staff member who directed us where to go. We paid at the office and signed a form, got a stamp on our hands, and passed in our car keys. The lady was friendly.
Staff: everyone was friendly and helpful.
COVID-19: staff were wearing masks or visors. There were markings on the ground indicating where to stand, etc. And they sprayed our hands.
Bus: we were spaced out on the bus and groups were told to leave an empty seat between them for COVID-19. During our ride to the drop spot, the owner gave an explanation. She was friendly and helpful. She warned us there are low spots and we should lift our bums out of the water in those low spots. She said when you see ripples in the water, there are rocks below. The deeper the water the more still the water is. She said Bradley will be in a boat going up and down the run to check on people. She gave us advise on how to sit in the tubes as gracefully as possible. Coolers are allowed but no glass bottles or styrofoam. Cans are allowed.
The run: at the drop off, the owner asked if we wanted our tubes tied together, we said yes. Then we were directed to the trail that led down to the river, just a few steps. We were all wearing water shoes/aqua socks. The river bed is covered with rocks (about the size of your hand) the rocks are quite slippery and you have to step VERY cautiously, or risk falling. The beginning is very shallow and we were rubbing the rocks a lot. It was a relief to get to deeper water (12 inches deep and you don’t get hung up on rocks). The water goes from shallow to adequate depth, back to shallow again many times. Sometimes you’ll be in deep water then suddenly your butt will graze a big boulder - that’s kind of startling. Twice we needed to stand and walk to deeper water. When you weren’t colliding with rocks it was VERY pleasant and relaxing! Nice views. Bugs weren’t an issue on the river, besides cute blue dragonflies buzzing around. We were on the water just over 2 hours.
At the end of the run we were greeted by a staff member who took our tubes and my daughter’s life jacket.
There are change rooms, porta-potties, a canteen and some places for taking pics.
My daughter looooved it.
The rocks are annoying, but we’d go again.
Bonus: The river water made my skin SUPER soft.
Phany Langille — Google review
They only have old black tubes, it can get pretty hot with the sun beating down on it. My sister in law got heat stroke and puked after.. not in the water don't worry lol. There hadn't been any rain for weeks so the water level was low, not their fault at all, but it meant a little walking and a bumpy ride in spots. There is a "safety" boat that rips around checking on everyone, I actually found it kind of annoying to be honest. And what if someone was under the water without their tube he could just mow right over them lol. The 2 hour run took more like 3, Overall It was still fun and glad I went, may go again but probably not any time soon.

Our family had a fantastic time on this tour! They offer a well organized excursion and safety is a high priority. The bus is secured with a safety barrier where it is open to the area where the bears would be (if they are there when you arrive) while the group is funnelled up the stairs to the viewing area. The 1.5 hour viewing went surprisingly quickly considering it's "whispering only" (consider this requirement for kids, min age is 5). We saw 13 bears - lots of cubs, too. I couldn't believe how fast they could scurry up a tree when they were spooked. Would definately recommend this activity!

Totally outstanding! Wow. This was an amazing experience. You park at the location shown here, then a bus will take you and the few others to a forest near by via bus. You will, quietly, climb up into a spacious open tree house/observation area while your guide/photographer will feed the bears below, sometimes out of his own hand! The bears trust him and they'll just appear out of the surrounding forest, hang out, get full, and wander off. Everyone must remain quiet so the bears are not scared off and everyone was (I feel they were speechless). It's an amazing experience, seeing black bears up close in their natural habit. We were the ones in the cage and we loved it! Wonderful idea, wonderful experience. Wow, just wow!
Ethan Smith — Google review
This is a fantastic experience for old and young. We went with out kids and they loved it. You watch bears from a tree top platform. The bears are fed by the owner but live in the wild, which I have some ethical issues with, but the experience of seeing so many bears up close made me forget about my ethical concerns. We probably saw over 30 different bears in the 1 hour we were there. The experience is in the evening, no trips during the day. Its pricey but worth it.

One of my favorite tour. Extremely nice organized. "Hard to beat" . We saw a lot of bears.
The Irving Eco-centre, Dune de Bouctouche, is a secluded and unpopulated area situated on Route 475 in New Brunswick. Its name originates from the Mi'kmaq term "Great little harbour" referring to the nearby town of Bouctouche. This beach destination features a beautiful 12km-long dune, which is one of the longest on North America's East Coast.
Revisit this place after winter. Love the boardwalk and nice beach view! Very well-maintenance place! What's a windy rainy shiny April day! Feeling contented for an off day!

Parking lot is on the opposite side of the road. Short walk from there to the boardwalk. The boardwalk has to be moved and rebuilt periodically as the dunes shift and storms hit so the current structure might not be the one you saw a few years ago. Beautiful spot.

I'll have to return this summer to truly experience the beach. I went there for the eclipse and it was high tide so not much beaching to be done, and washrooms were not open. It was nice sand and if you have binoculars you can look across to PEI! I imagine a lovely beach day could be had in summer! Lots of shells to check out

Be aware that you can't bring your dog here, nor can you bike or skate on this boardwalk (there is a decent bike path in another area of the eco-centre )

Both my lovely wife Pat and I enjoyed walking amongst this amazing sand dune.
The well-built boardwalks were a pleasure to walk along and the views were fantastic.
Hope this place continues to exist for many more years.
Both our dogs would have enjoyed it, but dogs are not allowed on the dune. We understand they have a dog service (dog sitting), but we opted to leave our 2 in the vehicle since it was perfect weather for it (not too hot and not too cool).
Tony Bercowski — Google review
We enjoyed a lovely relaxing walk on the board walk along the sand dunes. In speaking with a very pleasant lady who was setting up some fencing, we learned that the sand dunes have been greatly affected by major storms like Fiona that have come through the area. As a result the dunes are decreasing in length. Most importantly, vegetation and sea shells must remain undisturbed so they can continue to nourish the soil and keep the remaining sand dunes thriving for all of us to enjoy! There was no cost and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Well worth the visit!
Doris Morrison — Google review
Walked on the raised boardwalks of the dune beach. It's a short walk, not that long, probably a 30 min walk if you take your time really.
Along the way, there are these information displays about the nature/wildlife found there.
There are these information buildings at the beginning of the walk pathways. There's the main one with a person in it who will answer your questions and help you out. There's the second building that has a mini information museum.
It was an enjoyable walk. Though we went on a day that was cloudy, rainy, and super windy. Would have been better if there was sun and less wind.
Check the weather before you come here.

This is a great place to go when you want to explore different ecosystems. There's the beach, boardwalk, forest, open land. The park is free with free parking across the road. The boardwalk would probably take 10-15min one way. There's also a viewpoint booth on an upper level, and a building with various types of information on the area and history.

The Eco-centre main building and washrooms were closed, since I visited in the late fall. There is plenty of free parking, on both sides of the main entrance. The boardwalk tower has a pair of binoculars that gives you a clear view of P.E.I and is lovely at any time of year.

My lovely wife Pat, our 2 dogs (Jack and Shyla) and I stopped in on this park during our trip home.
It was an unplanned stop and only went into their grounds since it had been recommended through a local tourist site's fellow attendee.
During any future travels near this place, we will be sure to plan accordingly. As it was, only Jack and I got out to walk around a bit. The 2 of us really enjoyed our rather short walk. The grounds are extremely well kept. Pathways are smooth and clear. Grass was nicely trimmed and Jack, especially, seemed to enjoy the wildlife.
If Jack had his way, he would have been swimming in the gorgeous waterway. As it was, I sat a bit to admire and take in the scenery.
During our walk by the lilac bushes, I was overwhelmed by the sweet smells of their many blooms.
We had no time to check out any of the buildings, but from what I'd seen, they must be spectacular.
I'll write more in the future, once we've been able to explore this wondrous place more carefully.
As of this time, late spring, all was perfect during our outing.

A beautiful, peaceful bit of heaven.
I've been here with children and we've enjoyed exploring the extensive gardens, fish ponds and waterfront. I've also enjoyed the shady, leisurely drive through the gardens with seniors.
The chapel is humbling, and quiet. Take a moment to visit it and speak with the greeter. The care, and craftsmanship that went into this structure is something to see.
There is limited parking near the chapel, as well as restrooms. Services are held on Sundays during the summer months and all are welcome.
As with all things done by the Irving family, this property and buildings are top quality, lovingly cared for, and generously free to the public. What a gift to the community.

I found this place amazing. From this area you can learn what Acadians really are. Just for the love of their culture, music, and their history, plus the pride in it, it's worth the visit.
Alastair Mac Pherson — Google review
We had a great morning here. Make sure you check the schedule for the language of the presentations, which are excellent, the history of Acadia presentation in the hangar was my highlight. The site is easy to explore on your own, and it's accessible. The site is split into two sections, the 'land' and the 'island', the activities on the land were excellent, the island felt like it needed some love, and that there was nothing happening except for a singing/dance performance in French. There are houses that you can go in and explore, but zero information about what they represent, the time period, or the significance of the building. There also appears to be a cooking section, which was also abandoned when we visited. There is food available on site, it's fairly expensive and the choices on the island are mainly fried. Please bring a water bottle, the only water to purchase was an $11 reusable water bottle.
Is it good value for money? I wouldn't say for the $70 it cost my family of 4 to enter that it was.
Would I recommend that you visit? If you understand some French, yes. If you don't speak any, then I would have a hard time doing so.
The response I got was fair, and if they made it clear and explained that the locations would be manned (maybe a little clock with a return time, or a sign at the entrance of the building) then I would say that it's a great visit.

Excellent spot for fun, relaxation and learning. They have many different types of live performances and shows where you get to learn about the Acadian people and their traditions.
There's hiking and activities and the Akadi Lumina experience is unbelievable. It felt as though you were walking through a fantasy where you were traipsing through an enchanted misty forest where you experience the Acadian history like never before. At points you're enveloped in darkness and others, bathed in light as the forest came a live around us.

This place has found its way again. We did not realise how much French would be spoken and came at the wrong time for an English show … but one of the many performers scooped us up and gave us a private orientation while the French show was on. We learned a great deal about the Arcadian culture and history. We then visited several areas and each performer (one or two wait in each building to engage with you, if you initiate it) was able to engage entertainingly with us in English. We watched the tail end of a French show on our way out, and could see the audience were captivated and entertained by it. The buildings themselves are interesting and in good repair, and the entry allows you to return the following day.
